Introducing Nanjing

Nanjing, formerly known as Jinling, was the capital of the Eastern Wu Dynasty. Since Sun Quan of the Eastern Wu Dynasty moved his capital to Nanjing, the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Southern Song Dynasty, Qi Dynasty, Liang Dynasty, Chen Dynasty, Southern Tang Dynasty, Ming Dynasty, Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Kuomintang government also established their capitals here, so it is called the "Capital of Ten Dynasties". The Eastern Wu Dynasty, the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the Song Dynasty, Qi Dynasty, Liang Dynasty and Chen Dynasty, six Han Chinese regimes, once established their capitals in Nanjing, so historians also call it the "Ancient Capital of Six Dynasties".

This place has had prosperous years as a royal capital, but also sad times that are too painful to look back on. Zhu Ziqing wrote in his essay "Nanjing": "Walking around Nanjing is like visiting an antique shop. There are traces of erosion by the times everywhere. You can touch it, pay tribute to it, and daydream about it; think of the rise and fall of the Six Dynasties, the romanticism of Wang and Xie, and the glamorous traces of Qinhuai." Today, Nanjing can still be regarded as China's "antique shop", filled with the unique smoke and water atmosphere of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties. There are still countless stories of Jinling hidden at the foot of Zijin Mountain, along the Qinhuai River, at the foot of the city wall, and in the streets and alleys.

Take off the quaint coat of "Jinling", and Nanjing is a fashionable city. Nanjing is literary, and the artistic atmosphere has been cultivated since the beginning of the 20th century. Walking into those century-old campuses, you can see the retro and beautiful teaching buildings and the youthful and energetic faces; Nanjing is modern, the former ancient capital has been covered by towering high-rise buildings, and there is no lack of magnificent architectural masterpieces and fashionable and elegant urban life.

The intersection of classic and fashion, the intersection of vicissitudes and literature, may be the charm of Nanjing. This city, which was once colorful and once miserable, will definitely bring you a different memory.
