Precious Chinese herbal medicines such as Anemarrhena asphodeloides, Angelica sinensis, and Lycium barbarum are abundant here, making them excellent shopping destinations. Besides these herbs, Buddhist beads, Hada scarves, and other decorative items also make for unique souvenirs.
The main shopping area within the Five Sciences Buddhist College is near the college's Lama Sutra Hall. Here, the shops are most concentrated, selling Buddhist beads and other Buddhist supplies and accessories at affordable prices, making them excellent souvenirs. Furthermore, when you meet the college's Living Buddha, you can ask him or her to bless your beads or other accessories, which is a truly meaningful gift. Even for non-Buddhists, this is a rare souvenir.
The prices of goods in Han stores are relatively low. A Hada costs 10 yuan, a schoolbag embroidered with the name of the college and a mandala costs 15 yuan, and prayer flags cost 5-15 yuan depending on the size and texture.
