Sights in Shuanglang

Shuanglang is a small fishing village with few scenic spots. Surrounding it are islands like Yuji Island, Jinsuo Island, and Xiaoputuo Island. Yuji Island also houses dancer Yang Liping's private villa and painter Zhao Qing's Qinglu. Tranquility is a hallmark of Shuanglang. In this small fishing village, there's no need to search for scenery; as long as you have a keen eye for discovery, you'll find scenery and surprises everywhere.

Yuji Island

Yuji Island, one of the three islands of Erhai Lake, is known as the "First Village of Cang'er." The Bai ethnic minority dwellings on Yuji Island are well-preserved, with flowing water and gardens in every household, rich in the unique fishing culture of this ethnic group. The island boasts attractions such as the Yubo Pavilion, the naval barracks of Du Wenxiu, a late Qing Dynasty peasant uprising leader, the Zhao Clan Ancestral Hall, the Yuji Nunnery where Yang Guixian, wife of Duan Siping, the founding emperor of the Dali Kingdom, practiced as a nun, the National Culture Square, and a thousand-year-old banyan tree. The island also boasts the unique homes of renowned modern dance artist Yang Liping and young painter Zhao Qing.

Moon Palace

The Moon Palace is built against the mountain and looks like a half moon rising from the sea. It is the private residence of dancer Yang Liping and also a beautiful scenery on the edge of Erhai Lake.

Sun Palace

The Sun Palace is Yang Liping's private residence and is off-limits. However, the exterior is quite nice, located at the top of Yuji Island, four stories high, with full glass windows, and is very beautiful.

Qinglu

The owner of Qinglu is the painter Zhao Qing. Although Qinglu occasionally welcomes guests, not all rich people or celebrities can stay there. Those who can stay in Qinglu must be selected and approved by the owner.

Nanzhao Custom Island

Nanzhao Style Island is one of the three islands in Erhai Lake. It consists of eight major landscapes, including the Shayimu Sculpture Pier, Sea View Villas, Yunnan Fuxing - Acuoye Guanyin Square, Nanzhao Summer Palace, Bai Nationality Benzhu Cultural and Art Square, Beach Comprehensive Amusement Park, Taihu Stone Scenic Area and Fisherman's Pride Scenic Spot. It condenses Dali's thousands of years of cultural heritage and fully displays the style of Nanzhao and Dali as the imperial capital 2,600 years ago.

Digging Color

Wase was formerly known as Luchuan. It borders Shuanglang Town in the north and is a beautiful small fishing village. It is also one of the birthplaces of the Bai people's native culture in the Erhai area and the religious and cultural center on the east coast of Erhai Lake. Wase is the place with the most Bai ancient buildings and gatehouse buildings. There are also many temples in the area, such as the Desert Temple of the main god on the east coast of Erhai Lake, Chongfu Temple, the founding temple of Jiuzu Mountain, and Fengchen Temple (now Lingji Temple), where the ministers of Nanzhao King Jia were appointed. In addition, there are also the Confucian Temple, Martial Temple, Haitian Buddhist Pavilion and Xiao Putuo Temple in the Qing Dynasty.

Jinsuo Island

Jinsuo Island resembles a floating gourd, or even more so a weaving shuttle, hence the name. It is the largest island in Erhai Lake. Known as Zhongliu Island during the Nanzhao period, it is called "Chuannuo" in the Bai language, meaning "island." It was once a summer resort for the Nanzhao royal family. Jinsuo Island boasts beautiful scenery. A small Bai fishing village lies to the north, where fertile fields, beautiful flowers, and lush trees create another element of Jinsuo Island's beauty.
