Located in southwestern Sichuan, Xichang enjoys a plateau monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 28°C and a significant difference between day and night. In addition to a long coat, it's best to bring warm clothing. During the rainy season (July-August), summer clothing with a long coat and rain gear are generally sufficient. Swimming is permitted in Qionghai Lake in summer (June-August), so bring swimming gear. Furthermore, Xichang's ultraviolet rays are strong, so bring sunscreen whenever you visit.
Excluding the transportation costs to and from Xichang, a four-day trip in Xichang and its surrounding areas (not visiting Lugu Lake or Luoji Mountain) for a single person can meet all requirements with 800-1000 yuan.
