We did one of the tours and the building is absolutely gorgeous. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. The bourbon and chocolate tasting at the end was worth every penny. In the gift shop I was able to get a personalized engraved bottle for a friend.

Kevin was our tour guide. He did a great job of explaining the whole process. Be prepared to get your steps in for the day. It was interesting getting to taste the mash which was a first. Getting to taste the bourbon was the best.

Best distillery tour in Louisville. Tony was an outstanding tour guide, knowledgeable, and personable. The tasting at the end was fantastic. 5/5.

Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! (Except for couple girls at checkout, they could have been nicer). Laurie was our Tour guide. She did an amazing job! My friends and I were pleasantly surprised at the whole experience. The bar area was just as nice. The gentleman behind the bar were just as knowledgeable and helpful! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

We had a large group (12 people); some were 3 min late, and told we could participate in our tour, which we had reserved in advance. Be sure to be on time!
We did do the tasting, which integrated chocolate. Tasty combination with Bourbon.

Right in the heart of Louisville.
Easy to get to, but you will need parking karma.
You get to see the whole operation from mash to putting up barrels to bottling. Most of all tasting.
Hint: Go across the street to Against the Grain and they have Louisville specific bourbon flights for less than the tour....that is if you are into tasting.

This was our first bourbon tour and we found it thorough and educational. Not only did we pass the vats, bottling, and loading sections, we got to taste the bourbon in its mash stage and then four different samples of the finished spirit. Our tour guide was able to field all of our many questions and was charming as well. A fun time!

Just left Angels Envy distillery. We did the bourbon round table experience. Very cool, very informative. I loved the history behind the brand and the tasting of course was amazing. Adam our guide was top notch. When you go request him. He made our time there even better. Adam even helped us with dinner decisions for that night. Will for sure go back.

I only went to visit the bar. I was very impressed with my cocktail. It was smooth and inventive. Highly recommend a visit.

We went to learn some more about Bourbon. It was a great almost private tour. There is so much more to Bourbon that we knew before. They really do a great job here

Hands down one of the best distillery tours I’ve ever been on! Our tour guide Eliza was absolutely fabulous! She was so knowledgeable and very fun!!!

Unique tour and tasting experience as part of our family’s annual Christmas bourbon trail tour stop. Julie was excellent (and delightfully funny) guide who obviously loves her job. She needs a spot on the tasting team, folks! She had a tough crowd of mostly millennials that weren’t as familiar with bourbon and didn’t quite get her humor. But this Generation Xer did and loved it! #letjulietaste

Very informative and guest friendly tour complete with a fantastic tasting finish… this tour was a wonderful experience… made possible by our guide Scooter!🥃🥃🥃

While in Louisville, Angels Envy is a must. The tasting was educational and our Whiskey Tasting Instructor was quite funny! The pairing of chocolates was such a nice touch. THE RYE IS SOOOO GOOD! Aged in Jamaican rum barrels. We highly recommend adding a trip here when you visit Louisville.

What an amazing tribute to distillery row in the heart of Louisville. Nestled around the likes of Michters, Old Foresters, Rabbit Hole, and Evan Williams, Angels Envy stands proud. Built on historic practices with a custom twist this unique distillery sets itself apart.
The tours they offer are very well paced, informed and the tour guides are top notch. We had the privilege of Scooter leading our tour. He was personable, funny, and very knowledgeable. There wasn't a question asked he didn't have a ready answer for. The gift shop is well stocked with the regular angels envy as well as angels envy rye. Overall a well earned spot on the Bourbon Trail.

Adam was a blast, the tasting was very I formative and we even had chocolate with our tasting. And, he showed us a quick peak of the still room.
And FREE tasting for military!

We throughly enjoyed the tour, our tour guide Dave added some humor, as well as sharing great information on the process. The tour covered every distillery detail beginning to end, that included physically walking throughout the plant. The live tasting shared superb information on proven methods on how bourbon should be enjoyed.
Highly recommend this tour!

Had a fun little tasting with an enjoyable employee talking through the history and telling folklore of distilleries. The building is gorgeous and the tasting room delightful. I could have just hung out in the room all day. They tasting was not extensive - 3 tastes. But was paired with chocolate which was really good. Nice little stop.

I was looking very forward to the “Bottle Your Own” Experience @ Angel’s Envy! However, this turned out to be a disappointment. This experience was on Friday, November 4, 2022 @
1:30PM. First of all, we were told at front desk check-in to go over to the Port Room as they were ready for us(one of us was bottling for $150 and the other was an observer for $20). When we got to the rom and tried to enter we were told to wait that they were not ready. Okay fair enough if they needed more time. Finally wevwere allowed to enter the room and select a seat. There were a couple of vacant seats on the bottlers side of the table. One of the observers was allowed to move over to the bottlers side of the table and it was unclear if she had to pay the $150 fee or not. ??? Then the guide for the tour left and returned with five more people—one bottler and four observers——one of whom was an infant. We wrongly thought this would be an adults only experience given the price and age requirement. The guide then began his presentation talking at a rapid fire pace and in a monotone level that was not easy to hear if you were not next to him! His presentation was devoid of any real desire to make this a meaningful experience for the participants, a recorded message might have been better. Also, as soon as he began the presentation, the infant began making noises that were quite loud and
annoying! After a few squeals that were distracting, it seems that one of the three adults
observers who were with the child would have politely taken the little one out of the room for everyone else’s benefit and especially since it cost $150 for this experience! It seemed that they just wanted to stay regardless of the obvious distraction by the noises by the little one.
Adults in the room need to act like the adults and have a courteous regard for others. You would think, but this was not the case. Also, the leader of the group could have kindly asked that either the mother or one of the grandparents take the infant and wait outside so that others could hear and try and learn something about bourbon!
The bottling experience was an improvement, but nothing that special. They did take a keepsake picture for each bottler. The observers were allowed to watch from a glass window as the bottlers completed this portion of the experience. After bottling the leader said we could all go up to the bar. It was not made clear if this was for a complimentary drink or another part of the hour. It was a nice bar with a view and the the very tasty drinks were definitely not free. The leader of the group left the bar and we never saw him again. Maybe other folks have had much better experiences than we did with a more prepared leader, but based on our experience we would not book this ever again. And we have nothing against little children, but they do not need to be allowed in a very, very small room where participants have paid a rather large amount for a hopefully enjoyable bourbon experience! Angel’s Envy executive should make this a policy for all tours and experiences! Hopefully the quality of the Angel’s Envy that was bottled last Friday will be of high quality and we can enjoy it at some point at our home in the
future.

Although we were told they took walk-In’s for tours it was not an option for us the day we went. We settled for a tasting that gave us a peek into the distillery. Just a small taste into what I believe is an amazing organization. The tasting was informative and entertaining but if time allowed I would have preferred a full tour. And if I had room in my luggage I should have bought a bottle. It’s hard to find in Massachusetts and $10 more expensive at home.

We did the bottling experience which was super fun. Good talk at the beginning about bourbon and the history of Angel's Envy. Then we got the bottle our of a single barrel which they put in a pretty bow with our picture in front of the wings and the sticker with our bottle's name we had given it. The group was 7 people which was a good, manageable size. We also got to go up to the bar. Best cocktail we had in Louisville hands down.

I prefer going to distilleries further out in the rural areas of Kentucky but this particular urban distillery piqued my interest. Fortunately it was hometown tourist month that offered a sizable discount. That being said it’s an attractive building and an interesting tour. Of course at the end there is a bourbon tasting. Perhaps you don’t get as wide of selection of product as other tours but informative and worthwhile nonetheless. Do note there is a pay parking lot next to the distillery plus the Louisville Bats parking facility across the street. However, there is free parking on Main Street and Hancock Street just east of the distillery if you want to save money.

Angel’s Envy is a small player in the big whisky world. However, we have liked their port cask finished bourbon and wanted to do their tour. It was a good choice. John was a funny and gruff guide. Since production is small, we were able to see their entire operation. Because of their size and relative youth, they only make two products, but both are superb. This was our first tasting of their rye and we really enjoyed it. They must be enjoying success because they are greatly expanding the spaces for visitors.

Tidus, the best mixologist, made me a special one of a kind habanero whiskey drink, I loved it!!!!
Must take a tour so u can meet him!
Book your tour online, or walk in for a $10 sample bookings. Tour was informative and very entertaining! Definitely top of my list.

Very interesting tour. The tasting at the end in a private room was really nice. The price seemed reasonable for what we got.

Two of our group of ten, all prepaid, show up a few minutes late and try to join the group that hadn’t started the tasting portion yet. The very nice woman leading the tour says “no problem, send them up”, the angry “manager” at the front desk says “no way, I’m the manager, I’ll make the decisions here”. He was so unnecessarily rude it almost came to blows but just ended with a lot of yelling and swearing in the way out. I’m confident a fine company like this doesn’t endorse this kind of “management”. Are we that desperate for workers during covid?

We are bourbon lovers and ee visited quite a few distilleries in Louisville as well as in other towns. We booked the "inside the barrel" tour expecting to get the full experience. Unfortunately, this was pretty basic tour and tasting. Nothing special, nothing more than you see everywhere else in a "minimum" tour, yet a lot pricier. The tasting has 2 samples illustrating the only 2 finishing barrels that are being used. This tour may be worth it if you are a die hard Angels Envy fan, otherwise there are more interesting distilleries with more details on the production. If you want to better understand the influence of the barrel, try Copper and Kings, they are creative and use many different kinds of secondary barrels.

I visited this distillery today. My tour was hosted by Grant. This guy is phenomenal. The jokes and voice tones made this tour very interesting. He is extremely informative. If you are new to bourbon, Grant is the perfect tour guide. He breaks the process down in terms where an individual with little knowledge can understand. He also teaches you how to drink bourbon at the end of the tour.

This was a neat tour. The tour guide walked us through the entire process and added some flair as well. Plenty of nearby parking available, and within walking distance of the other distilleries.

It's probably the most beautiful distillery I have ever visited. Logan is an excellent tour guide. It's a must stop on a bourbon tour. Don't miss it!

Our Angel’s Envy private select tour was in Louisville, and it's definitely a great place to visit, especially if you don’t have time to drive out into the countryside to visit other distilleries. The distillery is quite nice, and our tour was fairly extensive—though there are no rickhouses here! The nosing included three excellent whiskeys, and the tour guide was fantastic. There's also a nice gift shop.

Angel’s Envy is a fantastic tour and great tasting experience! I had Scooter as my tour guide and he was energetic, knowledgeable and a great ambassador for the brand. I would highly recommend this distillery as a stop on your bourbon trail experience. I will definitely be back!

Awesome tour with Lyric! It's fascinating to see the unique characteristics of Angel Envy's distillery and the amazing bourbon and rye as a result. Definitely stick around the bar for a unique cocktail!

Did a tour and really enjoyed our visit. Our tour guide Terry was awesome and made the tour a wonderful experience. He was very informative and had a great sense of humor. Great indoor activity on a cold rainy day. If in Louisville definitely check them out.

Our tour guide Liam was great! Very energetic and informative. Tour was beautiful. Gift shop is really nice With lots of gift options to take home. The tour ended with a really good tasting that really teaches you how to taste bourbon. Never felt rushed and got to have some chocolates. There is a bar upstairs you can sit at and enjoy after the tour.

I decided to go here because I liked the name and I was not disappointed. It’s smaller and newer than some of the other older established brands. Chloe was our tour guide and she was excellent. We were able to taste the mash and had a few other little experiments we did. Group was smaller. She made the tasting a lot of fun and really showed you the correct way to taste. I would highly recommend this small distinction with a very nice gift shop.

The tour at Angel’s Envy was beautiful! Our guide John was incredible! He had lots of fun facts about not only the distillery but also the history of bourbon making! We loved the orange chocolates paired with our bourbon tasting & our whole group was pleasantly surprised by enjoying the Angel’s Envy Rye the most! Getting to enjoy a cocktail upstairs which was exclusive to tour attendees only was a fun extra perk too! Definitely a must stop in when you are in Louisville!

This location is located in the city of Louisville so much easier to get to compared to some of the other whiskey tasting options. Being in the city, they cater more to walk-ins then some of the other locations. I would recommend if you were limited on time, get a chance to check this place out.
The whiskey tasting was a completely different experience compared to the others in the area, they took a more scientific approach when it comes to the tasting. They provide a variety of supplements to the whiskey to show how it changes the taste.

At the end of an okay tour yesterday, I asked the guide what kind of effect the current tariffs had on their overseas sales. I’m guessing some since there wasn’t a soul working on the distillery floor. The guide told us that they were instructed not to speak about what counties they do business with. I’ve never been on a company tour where they refused to tell you where they sell their products. I know Kentucky is a ruby red state, but their refusal to honestly answer questions because of their political concerns is simply cowardice. I walked right through the gift shop and out the door. I will never ever buy another bottle of Angels Envy. Canadian Bourbon for me from now on.

Our team toured Angel's Envy, which was our first visit to a bourbon distillery, and we pleasantly pleased with the tour and the actual facility. Julie was an exceptional tour guide who brought both charm, whit and knowledge for us to learn and enjoy.
Touring Angel's Envy was a great way to start our interest in the bourbon industry and encourage others to visit.

Our guide was great & we really enjoyed the experience. Love that’s its a family operation . Love the way they came up with the name angels share/ angels envy!

Thorough discussion of distillery history. Complete experience of entire process from cook, to yeasting, through distilling, discussion of cooperage and barrel toasting and graded char. Had a angel envy bourbon tasting/chocolate pairing of their bourbon. Delightful Mayan Cafe catered buffet.

There were 6 of us on a bourbon trail excursion as part of my 45th birthday. We had a day we purposefully didn’t book anything and chose to wander Louisville. We stopped into Angel’s Envy to just check it out. When we entered, a lady asked what tour we were with. We said we didn’t have one booked, to which the lady at the door said, “we’re booked and don’t have anything today. You’ll need to book one to get in.” We asked to just check out the gift shop, to which she responded, I guess.
We knew we didn’t have a tour, had zero expectation of getting one, just wanted to check out, and just wanted to check out what they had going on. To get turned away at the door, then told “I guess” on seeing their store left me far less than thrilled to be there, and WAY less friendly than EVERY other distillery.
AE generally gets good reviews, but this one won’t be. I’d try every other distillery before this one.

Took the private select tour. Our host, Liam, was great. Informative, funny and has an obvious energy for bourbon. Learned some new techniques for tasting and enjoying bourbon. Etched bottle came out perfectly.

I have been on numerous distillery tours on the KY Bourbon Trail and this one has been the best so far! Our tour guide Liam was very knowledgeable and I learned quite a bit. He was an excellent tasting guide too!

Great tour and sampling at Angel's Envy. Highly recommend. Yes, there's construction going on outside, but the good stuff is inside. Their merch is pretty popular or was limited due to the amount of sales they had. Great overall history during the tour.

Such a unique and fun tour right in downtown Louisville! After visiting several distilleries, this one stood out for its intimate feel despite producing in large quantities. The tour was personalized and informative, with our guide giving great insights into Kentucky bourbon, including the Kentucky chew and Kentucky hug. Because it was so informative, I felt like this would be a great tour to start with if visiting multiple distilleries. The experience was awesome, and we even got a personalized bottle of bourbon to take home. Definitely recommend it!

New tour well worth the time. Tastings of the unfinished cask strength and finished rye product. Tour behind the normal distillery tower and mash tanks. see the finishing barrels of Rum and sherry and taste and smell the added flavor profile cojoners.

I'm not a big bourbon person, but it was pretty smooth good bourbon. We did the tasting which was good but a little bit pricey.

Scooter was a great tour guide. Very informative and interesting even though I'm not a big bourbon drinker. Facility is clean and very nicely furnished. He made the tasting fun by instructing us on how to taste and smell it. The chocolates paired with the different tasting samples enhaced the flavor and were very yummy!

The tour was very good and informative. We tasked a bourbon and a rye. We liked the rye more than we thought we would. The owner had worked for Woodford Reserve and had started this company with his son in 2013.

This was an amazing tour and tasting, with an even more amazing tour guide - Scooter! The historical components of this facility paired with multiple local business partners truly make Angel’s Envy products the envy of the bourbon industry.
Be sure to stop at the (beautiful) bar after to enjoy a craft cocktail - if Grace is working, you won’t be disappointed!

There’s a lot of great bourbon out there and to be competitive you need to be comparable in prices. Having said that, the tour was very informative and Terry was great. I do prefer the limestone water over reverse osmosis. Will I buy Angels Envy? Yes, the rye is delicious and melts like butter on my tongue.

As a true Southerner, I've certainly participated in my fair share of distillery tours all over the region. However, my recent visit to Angel's Envy Distillery was by far one of the most impressive tours I've had the pleasure of experiencing.
It was led by our amazing guide, John Moore who was equally impressive. He was such a superlative guide: knowledgable, enthusiastic, and very attuned to his audience--(who he quickly captivated). It was clear that John's passion transcended through his work.
Myself as well as my friends couldn't have wished for a better experience at your Distillery (including John of course). The trip to Angel's Envy will most certainly be one of the most prioritized recommendations I would give to anyone visiting Louisville. Thanks for the memories.

We did the premium tour, and it was fantastic! Our group of 50-something aged guys was in town for a weekend getaway, and this tour was on our bucket list. Dean, our guide, was the ultimate highlight—his exceptional knowledge and engaging presentation made the experience unforgettable. He was absolutely perfect for the role! Every member of the Angel's Envy Distillery team we met was friendly and helpful, adding to the overall excitement of the tour.

This was our first stop on the bourbon trail. I wanted desperately to not like this place as I’m a loyalist to Maker’s Mark. Well this juice sure gave me something new to consider. I loved the tasting we did and will certainly put this in the rotation.
One thing that kept this from being excellent was they charged me for the tasting and didn’t pour the rye. I understand not pouring the extended aged bourbon, but I felt if they would’ve served me the rye it would’ve been a better experience allowing me to taste the variations. Because for $15/person, I can go to the local watering hole and do a tasting myself.

Stopped by here with no reservations and found that there were no tours the day we were there. So we shopped. I thought it was nice that they sell their Bourbon and Rye in sample sizes, so you don't have to commit to the full bottles. The prices are slightly higher for the full size bottles than you will find at local liquor stores. The woman that rang us up was very nice and chatted with us a bit about Angels Envy.

Went here and got off to a rocky start, but it wasn’t the fault of the distillery. Got to my 6 pm tour around 5:30 and a few minutes after I got there, a storm knocked out the power. This meant that none of the tours could operate until the power came back on. We were told that since the power would probably be out for a while, we would get our tickets refunded, although we could wait on the off chance that the power returned.
About 20 minutes after the distillery lost power, one of the receptionists came up to me and offered me the chance to enjoy a tasting as consolation since I had stuck around long enough. I’m sorry I can’t recall her name, I think it was June or Iris or another four-letter name, but she was awesome. She did a great job of keeping her cool and keeping other people calm during the sudden outage and I really appreciated her candor and professionalism.
About half an hour later, I was getting ready to leave, when all the sudden, the power came back on. It was 6:03, so we didn’t lose much time at all. They allowed us to get back on the tour and they generously let us keep our refunds, so we got a free Signature Tour!
The tour was great, and Scooter did an awesome job guiding us. He was very knowledgeable and charismatic throughout the experience, explaining the process, sharing anecdotes, and cracking jokes along the way. Fantastic tasting of whiskey and chocolate. Loved getting to learn more about how to properly taste whiskey from him, from the acclimation taste to fully enjoying the undertones of each sip. Also, I came for my birthday and I appreciated that Scooter recognized the occasion during the tour.
Overall, I was impressed by the fantastic level of customer service brought by the tour and receptionist staff at Angel’s Envy. They served up a masterclass on how to handle themselves and their guests in an unfortunate turn of events. I’ve experienced the worst with Spirit Airlines, and now I’ve experienced the best with Angel’s Envy. I will be highly recommending you all to anyone I know headed to Louisville. Fantastic job, everyone!!

I have done several distillery tours and this is one of the best. The tour guide was knowledgeable and made the tour an educational experience.

Nice Distillery tour. We enjoyed the tour and tasting. They make a nice bourbon. If you're on the bourbon trail, it's a must stop.

We did the tour and tasting and it was wonderful! John was a great guide and gave us great tips on tasting their bourbon. I am not a rye person - but their rye was incredible. Would definitely recommend to everyone who's visiting Louisville.

If you love Bourbon and it’s history then this is the place for you! Loved touring their facilities and seeing how their Bourbon is make from start to finish. You also get to see where they fill the barrels and how they bottle the product. The tour guides are incredibly knowledgeable and also work the floor when they aren’t giving tours! At the end of the tour we got to do a bourbon tasting class where you learn how to taste bourbon and how to pick out the different flavors. An absolutely wonderful experience!

I walked here from my hotel on a recent trip. The shopping area is very small but the people are super nice. I bought a bottle. It’s cool to buy it right at the distillery.

My husband and I attended a "Signature Tour" with "Kate the Great" Or Kate 3rd and it was wonderful. She was very engaging, knowledgeable, and really taught us a ton about Angel's Envy and bourbon in Louisville. We are local and attend tours all around our area, but this one was very informative and one I would recommend to locals and out of towners alike! Her tasting experience was unique and a great way to experience Angel's Envy for the first time, or the 100th time :).

Very smooth bourbon. Had Adam as our tour guide. Very interactive and knowledgeable, even though he has a baby face.

We toured the facility and enjoyed a tasting. We had an excellent tour guide (it was her last day on the job), who gave us a lot of fascinating information about Angels Envy, bourbon (in general), and the distilling process. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour even though it was at the end of a long day. In addition, our guide did our tasting and it was the best one we had over four days and nine distilleries. She showed us HOW to taste bourbon and it was a game changer for us! We have used he technique several times since we came home.
The gift shop is very nice and has a great selection of items.
I would highly recommend the Louisville Distillery (Angels Envy) for a tour and tasting!

In June of 2022 I took my family (12) people on tour at Angel's Envy. The tour was fantastic. Our tour guide Logan was witty and fun. Beautiful place and the employee were so nice and helpful.

Allie was very good. The place is a mix of old and new with a lot of stainless steel and wooden interior. They spend a lot of time taking about the barrel process which we liked. The tasting area is a great as it’s tables on a split log which just made the experience special. You only try one bourbon though, that I think they need to change. Allie takes about the rye and made it sound special, but we didn’t get to taste it. That I found annoying. I enjoyed the tour, but I think small places like this could offer tastings only. One tour is not strikingly different from another.

This was the first of many bourbon tours we took and was very informative and the guide had a great sense of humor. We loved the bourbon tasting experience.

Angels Envy doesn’t not accept cash! Since they want to be part of the cashless society, I would not recommend this tour or booze!

I decided to take this tour based on other reviews and I'm glad I did! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and was happy to answer any questions we had. It's a beautiful old building and learned a lot about the history. The tasting was excellent, as well as the private bar afterwards. I'm looking forward to taking this again.

We toured the Angel’s Envy distillery in late January 2020. Adam was our tour guide and did an excellent job describing the history of the company and the distillery process. He also excelled at conducting the bourbon tasting pointing out how to best enjoy the various flavors of the bourbon. Well done Adam!

Great tour and every person I had contact with were awesome people! Tour guide Adam was super knowledgeable and polite. This was my first experience on a distillery tour and couldn’t asked for a better experience!

Great experience! Energetic welcoming staff - very hospitable! Tour guide was excellent and knowledgeable! No activity at bottling which was disappointing but just a bad time of day I guess! One of the best tours we went on!

I had been in this distillery before but it changed a lot since the time before. The gift shop is about 5 times bigger. It’s really nice now and they had bourbon available right on the shelf. I got a couple bottles. A nice place.

Went to this tour expecting an interesting hour. Nope. No brewing going on. All brew vats empty. No distillation going on. No casking. Bottling done off site. No cooperage. Nothing. Very disappointing.
Having said that, the Bourbon was very good!

We were in Louisville for a quick weekend trip, and we’re extremely glad we did the Angel’s envy distillery tour. It was extremely educational and fun. The tour finished up with a pairing of their bourbon finished in port barrels and rye finished in Caribbean rum barrels with a milk and white chocolate from another local place. After the tour we grabbed some cocktails from the bar. Our favorite and most unique was thePretty in a purple with Bourbon, lavender, ginger, and lemon.

We took the Signature Tour and were not disappointed. It was the first distillery tour for several in our group of 3 couples. The guide was informative and the facility was spotless. It was interesting to see the entire process from start to finished product. The tasting room though was the place where this tour really shined. Our guide taught us the proper way to taste whiskeys and bourbons that will stick with me long after I leave Louisville. Pairing chocolates from a local business was a very nice touch! The gift shop is very nice also. I highly recommend this tour.

Located in the heart of Louisville, this distillery offers an educational and delightful tasting experience.
Angel's Envy Rye is in a class all by itself. From your first sniff to your last swallow you will experience a smoothness that I have rarely found in most bourbons and ryes.
The staff is knowledgeable, entertaining and the level of customer service is excellent, especially Scooter. He knows just how to make you feel special during your visit!

Super happy this was my first distillery stop we got to see most bourbon making steps in progress. Since I am a visual person seeing the steps made it a lot easier to understand when visiting some of the other distilleries when the guides were telling you about a step in the process. We opted for the chocolate and bourbon tasting tour very happy we did! Super nice treat at the end was f the tour! Made stops in the cocktail room and gift shop on the way out! Old Fashioned was super tasty and picked up some goodies to bring home!

Terrible customer service. Our group of 8 has an extra person who came along in case there was a cancellation from the other 4 reservations. There was a no show and they rudely refused to sell us a ticket. No logical explanation as it would have still been 12. Go to Buffalo Trace instead where they could not have been nicer and the tours are complimentary.

Our family came to take the Inside the Barrel bourbon tour here at Angel's Envy. Tommie G gave a fabulous, fun and informative tour. He showed us through the various parts of the distillery from the starter grains to fermentation and on to distillation and bottling. The tour ended with a tasting of their product which was smooth and flavorful. All in all a tour worth taking in Louisville - Excellent!

This distillery tour was one of the best we have ever been on and we have been in many. Scooter - our tour guide - knew his stuff and made it both fun and informative. The tasting was exceptional and the gift shop was well stocked. Highly recommend taking this tour.

Enjoyed seeing angels’ envy distillery. Learned a lot about their history and how their bourbon is made, and finished. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and pleasant. We had two whiskeys to try, which was the least of any place we went. However, their candy was great!

Our visit to Angel’s Envy was both informative and pleasurable. We were led from the main area downstairs, to the top floor area with proper social distancing measures in place. They were two types of bourbon to taste from and our presenter did a nice job of explaining what it takes to make bourbon.
Our only quandary with that was his face mask made it hard to see his mouth which caused us to lose a little bit of communication. Suggestion would be to have Tour guides use a clear face shield instead of an obstructive mask.
Because of the pandemic, no one was allowed to go into the distillery area where they make the bourbon, so we saw a silent video with commentary from the tour guide.
The building itself is gorgeous and this visit was well worth both the money and the time invested.

Great experience. Tasted 2 bourbons with chocolate and were told about the tasting notes and how each bourbon is made with what ingredients etc. Was also told how the distillery started and named.

There was not a tour only a presentation and tasting. The presentation was excellent but the tasting was only two items. The rye whiskey and the bourbon. The rye was excellent but we probably got a 1/2 oz to taste. It was sweet and my wife loved it. We said it tasted of butterscotch. Costco sells for $79.99 which is $10 less than at their location. The bourbon is good and low proof and very drinkable. They did give a refill on the bourbon but at $20 per person it is overpriced. They need to give more tastes and include the barrel strength and some of their other items even if they are not available for sale.

Walked in on Friday 1/10/20 inquiring about a tour. We were informed the 20$ signature tour had sold out for the day, our next option was the 45$ inside the barrel tour which was supposedly an in depth look at the distillery. There was also the 99$ bottle your own experience which wasn't explained very well to us. We bought the 45$ tour which lasted about 45 mins or so. Our guide was Tommy, he was pleasant, knowledgeable and entertaining. The facility is top notch, visually appealing, lots of merchandise and friendly staff. The tour itself was highlighted with a tasting straight from a barrel which was awesome, but that was really the only thing that distinguished this from any other 20 tour/tasting. The tasting was good, generous pours and explanations on products. The angels envy product line exceeded our expectations taste wise, definitely enjoyed the Rye and Bourbon. Once the tour/tasting wrapped up, we overheard another couple discussing the bottle your own experience. Turns out, the 99$ allowed both of them to walk through the distillery with an abbreviated tour to a self bottling station were they would fill a bottle to take home. My advice would be to get a thorough explanation of the tours available before making a decision. I would like to add again, the staff at this location was one of the friendliest we encountered on our long weekend. One of the gals even made us a list of other distilleries, breweries, and places to eat while we were in town.

We did the Finishing Room experience. $20 each for 30 minutes and maybe 1 oz of tasting of their 2 bourbons. Very over priced as compared to all the other distillery tours in the area

Greg our tour guy was not good. Very disappointed. Spent 175 pp for bottle your own and he was not nice.

We had the best time on our tour with Scott! He was very knowledgeable, funny and sang a song as we climbed the stairs! It was lovely! Beautiful distillery ran by fantastic people! Definitely get a drink at the bar! You will not be disappointed!

Didnt take the tour as the tours were booked for the day. So walk the shop and the prices were extremely high. All the merch was extremely high. So walked out with nothing. No one came by to ask if we needed any help with anything.

This was my first visit to Louisville and my first distillery tour. Angel's Envy was really cool and their family story makes it more personal. They have a great approach to finishing their product in port and rum barrels for a unique flavor. Definitely worth the visit when you are in town.

These folks make some pretty special whiskey and its worth making a reservation well in advance of your trip. The facility is beautiful and the tour guides are fun. Once you see how many barrels of their Rye they are finishing at once, you will understand why its so hard to find....

There was construction going on but was worth the stop. Gift shop was nice and staff was very friendly.

This is a second time for me! First time we were unable to tour because it was full! This time we booked a tour and it came with a tasting ! The tasting was very informative but for most tours I’ve done this one was my least favorite but only because we weren’t able to see the whole thing because of COVID ! But we still paid full price . Most of the tours or tastings they give you a glass or a discount on your purchase not here. Some even let you fill your own bottle and get it etched . So that was disappointing. Otherwise the place is very nice inside and it’s easy parking . Easy to get to. The bourbon is very good!

A very informative and fun tour. The facility is impressive. Even though we have toured many other distilleries, this one had it's own interesting facts and sights. The tasting was excellent and the gift shop was one of the best. The "Fermenting Tank Cathedral" was awesome.

Great distillery tour. The place is immaculate and the staff take pride in their work. We learned a lot in a non hurried environment and could have stayed for signature cocktails but we had tickets to a museum right afterwards. I will definitely look for their bourbon and wish I was closer for that special batch made in ice wine barrels that was mentioned. You’ve got two new customers for life!

Great first stop on the Bourbon Trail. Coming from Indiana, Louisville was on our way to Bardstown. We made reservations ahead and took or first tour of a bourbon distillery at Angel’s Envy. The guide was very knowledgeable of the facility and process of making bourbon. This is a smaller facility so the tour was fairly quick. There are 34 steps you take twice, so know this ahead (there is an elevator). We were lucky we were there on a reasonable summer day, 80 and low humidity. I can’t imagine how hot it would be on a normal hot Louisville day. The bourbon tasting was gook, I don’t care for brown liquor, but found the information from our guide to be helpful. After the tour, we enjoyed delicious cocktails at the bar (which you can visit without a reservation or needing to take the tour). I would recommend if this is on your way to the trail, make a point to stop.

Angel's Envy ONLY allows you into their private bar/for a tour by booking online; no walk-ins. Therefore, when I looked a week prior all of their Saturday/Sunday tours were booked and nearly all of Friday was gone so book early! The distillery is easily seen from the highway and is in the CBD of Louisville, with many other tourist attractions within walking distance.
This was the first tour we did (out of 7) on the Bourbon Trail and we didn't know it at the time, but it would be the best from start to finish for many reasons. 1) Unlike other tours, the lobby was spacious and had a coat rack so you didn't feel like canned sardines while waiting for the tour to commence. 2) Our guide Adam, though young, was very knowledgeable and his delivery felt natural and genuine. We had other young tour guides elsewhere that sounded like they were reciting a script or others that lacked the personality Adam had. 3) It's a small distillery so you're able to see nearly every process (except touring the inside of a rickhouse and the cooperage process). At other distilleries we were left to "imagine" the bottling process or the fermentation process. 4) We appreciated that this is a family owned AND operated, LOCAL business. Quite a few big names are now owned by Japanese companies or people that live in other states. Some of the family members were around the facility when we toured. 5) We loved that the group tasting area was SEPARATE from the bar. We went to other distilleries where they were smashed together and the other patrons were too loud for us to hear the guide describing the bourbons. 6) Surprisingly, we were served one chocolate with our tasting. This happened @ a few other distilleries but this was the ONLY bourbon that actually paired well with the chocolate, in my opinion. Plus, it's a local chocolate. 7) Last, I appreciated that tour groups were kept small. Other tours had us feeling like herded cattle.
At first I was a little downtrodden that Angel's Envy doesn't have a large product variety, especially for purchase, but once you learn the history it's because they're a young, grassroots company too. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting flights in the bar! Don't waste your money on other Bardstown tours; this one is quality!

Awesome tour! We saw first hand every step of the process from mash ( which we got to taste) to the bottling line. So cool! The tasting was paired with chocolates! Who knew, chocolates aren’t just for wine!

We were able to pre-book a tasting. It was an informative tasting. Loved the chocolate pairing. Distillery is easy to find. Not far from Copper & Kings and Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. Rabbit Hole is very close as is Old Forrester.

We choose the tour and tasting. Alley was our tour guide. She made it so fun with stories, her witty ness and just made you laugh a lot. The facility was very well lit, easy to follow along, spotless clean and comfortable. We had a great time and will go back. I would ask if Alley is on duty if you plan to go and get in get your group! She will make sure you get a great tour and education about what makes Angel’s Envy such a great bourbon!

I am skeptical of finished bourbons. See ,'lipstick on a pig'. Not so here. Port finished is genuine. will be looking for there bottles at my local shoppe.

This was an OK tour. The young lady that was our tour guide shared a lot of information, but often spoke quietly so it was hard to hear her. SHe did an amazing job on the tasting portion of the tour ~ she shared how to do a bourbon tasting and then paired it with the chocolates, which were really good!

Great distillery tour. Our tour guide was very friendly and informative. He really knew his stuff. Thanks Angels Envy for a great time.

We had a great time with Tommy G as our tour guide. He's a wealth of information! So hard to believe all that distillery is in that building. And it's so clean! Hydrating is very important to them. They have water in a carton for their guests while on the tour.

Tour is enjoyable and interesting even to a non-bourbon person. Tasting after was informative but not for me. Understood what he was saying but the taste is a big nope no matter the age or how good everyone else said it was. Fun time would recommend if in area.

Learned so much about the history and making of Bourbon. The guide was very knowledgeable and kind. All Bourbon is not the same.

One of the best distillery tours around. Our guide, Kelsey, was very knowledgeable on the history of the building and how bourbon is made. The tour ended with a sampling with some chocolate. We were shown how to taste the bourbon, and we understood how tasting works on your taste buds. Even bought a T-shirt in the gift shop for only $25. Plenty of parking across from the distillery and Louisville Slugger Field.

I've enjoyed Kentucky bourbon for many years. Angel's Envy has always intrigued me, but I stayed away as it was not true bourbon. I shouldn't have. The tour guide was super, and started with the Henderson"family tree". After hearing the heritage, I knew the founder was for real. This location is wonderful, sort of rebuilt from the remains of a building in downtown Louisville, but all new on the inside, and SPOTLESS, especially for a distillery. I should mention that this is one of the few family owned distilleries still left in Kentucky, the others having been consumed by large corporations. The employees were all very nice, and neat. They also noticed that I was a veteran and discounted all of us in the tour that were veterans; wonderful gesture. We ordered an engraved bottle for our son's birthday, and it was perfect. Their tasting area is very nice, an old very large tree cut right down the middle. After the free tasting, one can purchase other drinks in their bar. I tasted the rye and was hooked. I have never tasted caramel in any whiskey like that. I look forward to many bottles of their rye and other products. Godd job Angel's Envy!

We did not have time to take the entire tour but did experience a wonderful tasting.
Liam taught us the correct way to enjoy Bourbon and Rye. He was fun and knowledgeable. Having chocolate with Bourbon will now become a necessity!

My husband was pleasantly surprised with the quality of this bourbon. He did struggle with hearing due to mask wearing, plexiglass dividers and the acoustics of the room. It was amazing how the flavors changed with each sip. Employees were outgoing and friendly.

This was our second whiskey tour of our trip. We LOVED this tour. It was neat to hear the family history and our tour guide David made sure there was never a dull moment. It was very educational on how to properly drink bourbon and pick up the different notes. We also did the bottle your own which I must say was our favorite part. What a cool souvenir that we will cherish forever. Thank you so much for having us. My only suggestion is they change their system so that when you pay with a credit card, you have the option to tip the bartender. We were shocked that wasn't an option and thankfully had cash. I am sure that keeps them from being tipped properly for crafting those delicious cocktails. Titus made phenomenal drinks and company! Again, we really enjoyed everything. Keep up the good work!

Terry did a perfect tour. Funny, informative, enjoyable. The tasting at the end was also fantastic. Explained the differences and how it pairs with chocolate. Totally enjoyed my time

Overly priced for what you get.
This is just a tasting not a tour.
The presentation was nice, but you only get to sample their rye and bourbon.
Better tours to take in town.

Our guide was Liam and he was very entertaining. The tour is a detailed description of the process of making Angels Envy bourbon from start to finish and ends with a tasting of the product including chocolates that complement the bourbon. Liam made sure everyone was involved and entertained including our 10 and 13 year olds who were the only minors on the tour. My only advice is to dress accordingly! It get super hot in the distillery especially the upper levels in the summer time! If you’re afraid of heights this may not be the tour for you but my 10 year old managed okay and he is petrified of heights!

My friends and I completed five distillery tours over a long weekend and the Angel's Envy tour was our collective favorite. The tour guide was fantastic, the tour was very immersive through every aspect of the bourbon distillation and distribution process, and the tasting setting and offerings were the best. We had a great time learning the general history of Kentucky bourbon and Angel's Envy's legacy in particular. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a bourbon distillery tour!

Angel’s envy does one of the best bourbon tours. Cannot wait for them to reopen. It is a very attractive building and a complete tour and very informative.

This past week, we toured 6 different bourbon distilleries in Kentucky. Angel's Envy was by far the most expensive and least satisfying of them all.
First, they charged double (or more) the price of other tours. Secondly, the tour was a conducted in a "roundtable" room that consisted of tables and chairs (COVID appropriate) where we heard a brief talk and watched a video presentation on an unusually small television.
While distilleries have understandably had to modify their tours due to the pandemic, we expected more than a 42" TV positioned on what appeared to be a coffee table. Angel's Envy provided three samples per person, which was less than other tours as well.
All this for a $20 ticket. The whole experience struck me as amateurish but also arrogant. As bourbon tourists, we expect more bang for the buck than this.

Distillery tours can be hit or miss, but the hope is that you get a good amount of history, be able to explore where the spirits are made, and get a fun tasting afterwards. Angel's Envy hit all 3 marks. The tour was very fun, educational, and it was great to see how they renovated a history building and turned it into something new (it was used as a manufacturing plant for many years). Dawnsheika was our tour guide and she was a hoot and kept everyone having a good time. The most fun thing on the tour was the ability to taste the mash while it was still fermenting, which is not something we've seen on a distillery or brewery tour. Our tasting was very good as well and the bourbon and rye paired well with the chocolates they provided. There's plenty of parking outside of the distillery and a large gift shop for swag. It's a fun place overall and we enjoyed our tour!

Our group of 4 visited Evan Williams, Rabbit Hole and Angels Envy in our trip to Louisville and this was my personal favorite of the day. Our tour guide was phenomenal and I felt like we really got to see a lot of the process they go through. I especially liked learning about the background of this distillery. It really is a family-run operation and they put a lot of love into it. 2 people in our group are big bourbon fans and they didn't really like the bourbon here as much as other places, but it was still a super cool place to visit. Make sure to book your tour EARLY as they fill up. I booked our tour a couple weeks in advance and they were already full for a couple of the time slots.

Angel's Envy was contacted prior to the tour about accommodating our group, which had 5 minors included in the 14 person group. We were told that tours could only accommodate 12 people and we needed 2 tour times. No problem, we were able to get back to back times. On the tour, minors cost is the same as the adults, the minors were able to walk and learn about the process however, during the tasting - which they were obviously not able to taste - were told they had to sit against the wall and were given chocolates and boxed water. We were informed most of the distilleries were very family friendly and include children in the tour. Maybe a root beer or a choice of beverage instead of box water may be more welcoming.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and well trained. The tasting itself was fabulous. We would come again, we just would make sure it was for adults only.

In my opinion the BEST bourbon tour / tasting when staying in Louisville. Be sure to book in advance so that you won't be disappointed.

The tasting experience here was terrific. Staff was very friendly, welcoming, and informative. We really enjoyed how they walked us through how to best taste and experience their products instead of just tossing samples in front of us like some places. Keep it up!

Our tour guides, Liam & Jeff, did an excellent job educating us on what makes Angels Envy so special. We were educated on their process of very high standards for their bourbon and rye. We got to see every part of the process and then he led us through a guided tasting which allowed us to fully experience their excellent products.

Dean was a great tour guide. We enjoyed learning about the process! I loved the visual given for the grain bill, and getting to taste the sour mash! The tasting was made very enjoyable, and Dean made sure to walk everyone through step by step. We even ended up buying a bottle after the tour.
If possible, request Dean!!

Great tour and tasting today with Matt. We enjoyed his perspective on the process of bourbon making and aging. The tour was very informative and interesting. I highly recommend Angels Envy!

We had 5 couples tour Angels Envy distillery and our tour guide was Rae! Not great. She seemed to not know what she was talking about a few times and would correct herself. She basically yelled at us when part of our group was walking a little behind, then she asked someone to leave the tasting room because they took a emergency call on the phone. You could not hear the person on the phone - they were talking very softly.
Then when we were done tasting, she basically told us to leave cause they were closing only to find out they were open another hour after that.
Rae was not warm, funny, or nice! We’ve been to quite a few tours in Louisville area and this was the worst tour we’ve ever done. All 10 of us agreed we did not think she did the tour well or represent the best of Angel Envy. It’s a cool place-I think we just had a bad tour guide.

Angel’s Envy was such a great experience! The tour was super informative, especially at the end of the tour, and taught you how to taste whiskey, and touring other distilleries after this lesson was super helpful because no one else gave that lesson.
The direct pour of white dog right into your hand I think I could have done without, but in their defense it did break down the smells and show off different components of the whiskey.
The distillery itself is beautiful, the bar at the end is gorgeous, and the bartenders were super friendly and fun to chat with. A must-do if you’re in Louisville.

I've been to a few whiskey tastings in my life but our guide showed us how judges taste in competition. Quite different than I expected. Our guide was very knowledgeable too. He went into great detail about the barrels which was very interesting and history of Angel's Envy. We visited during Covid so weren't able to go into the distillery itself only the tasting. They showed a short video in it's place. We felt very comfortable with the Covid protocol they had in place. I would definitely recommend this as a must stop in Lousiville.

This tour was really well done. Liam was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and had a great, funny way of conducting the tour. The tasting was extremely enjoyable and well-presented. We would definitely recommend this tour.

This is an excellent tour. We learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Grant was a fantastic guide and extremely knowledgeable. I recommend staying for an awesome cocktail after the tour and tasting.

Already my favorite bourbon but I fell in love a little bit more. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do a tour of the distillery but were able to get a tasting in upstairs. The level of knowledge and chocolate pairings were delightful and scrumptious! If you haven’t tried their Rye bourbon aged in Caribbean rum barrels you need to stop what you are doing and go check it out.

Great tour of the Angel’s Envy distillery! Our tour guide was funny, knowledgeable and really informative. The distillery is beautiful, and located right downtown for easy access. We really learned a lot about what makes Angel’s Envy so special. The only negative thing I could mention would be to go on a day that is not in the upper 90’s outside. The distillery portion of the building is not air conditioned, which probably is due to the fermenting process, so between the outside heat and the machinery it was well over 100 degrees is some areas we viewed. Going on a cooler day would fix that! They do warn you in advance about the heat, so we were not surprised. Great experience!

The Angel’s Envy Distillery is a MUST visit while in Louisville. My husband is a big fan of their bourbons and while I’m not a big drinker, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We learned a lot while on the Private Select Tour and our amazing guide Kelsey was very knowledgeable and she was able to answer our questions. Coincidentally, we were the only ones on the tour at the time (Monday afternoon), which made it even better.
The tour lasted about an hour and we stopped at the bar for a few drinks and the retail store after.
Definitely make sure you save enough time to visit the bar and explore the retail store - they have lots of cool merchandise to select from.
We visited three other distilleries on our trip and this by far was our favorite.

Great visit, Jimmy was a great guide. Very interesting how this one is a finishing distillery using the port wine barrels.

My husband and I were in Louisville with our best friends for the bourbon trail. Grant was our tour guide at Angels Envy--he was awesome.!! He was very knowledgeable and funny. He answered all our questions and gave a very interesting tour. He is a friendly and personable young man.

Beautiful downtown distillery in a modern space that mimics the look of a cathedral! The tour takes guests through the fermentation room, around the still, to the finishing room, and even the bottling line. (Aging takes place off-site so it isn’t included in the tour.) While the tasting is somewhat basic, I liked that it included a comparison of how water changes whiskey.

We really enjoyed the tour at Angel's Envy. Although it wasn't very long (about 30 minutes) our guide Jimmy made it interesting, giving us an overview of the distilling process along with some background on the founder and family that owns it. The tasting with chocolate pairings was fun and of course very tasty!

Visited Buffalo Trace, Rabbit Hole, Bulleit and Four Roses over the weekend. Angels Envy was our favorite by far. The staff were knowledgeable and gave an excellent tour of the facilities explaining the history of the distillery and the bourbon making process. Would highly recommend a tour to anyone interested in the distlleries on the bourbon trail.

An amazing tour experience that gives you a good look t the history of this distillery, how the whiskey is made, and a great look at all the behind the scenes work. Oh, and great tasting bourbon and rye whiskey!!!

Good pit stop. They have really fancy restroom facilities, especially for a distillery, and one that is currently under construction to boot. It’s interesting that they have a mask policy for the tours yet one can walk right on into the main lobby without one, because, well, science, I guess. ps - there were multiple people (who visited the women’s room) claiming their restroom smelled like bacon. What a bonus!

Did the tour and tasting with guide Liam. Liam was enthusiastic, interesting and knowledgeable. Made the tour fun. Highlight is the tasting the bourbon is outstanding but their Rye is a real gem and in my mind stole the show. I am a bourbon drinker not a real Rye aficionado but Angels Envy Rye has made me a convert!

The distillery is small, but it is interesting to see how they make Bourbon. The tour guide was friendly and it was a fun tour. The tasting room at the end was great and very helpful in choosing bourbon. The bar attached is a nice place to sit and relax. Take your time there.

This was my first visit to Louisville and one of distilleries we stopped at on the Bourbon Trail (we hit 15 of the 17 stops). They have a interesting approach to finishing their product in port and rum barrels for a unique flavor. Definitely worth the visit when you are in town.

This is one of the new generation distilleries in Louisville. Located right in the center of the old town, there is plenty of on street parking. In a renovated warehouse, the business has created a beautiful, modern facility. We took the guided tour (c$20). The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. We learned all about the distilling process in a small, boutique distillery and enjoyed the tasting experience. We wanted to visit this enterprise as they produce an excellent product that is sometimes hard to find. The rye whiskey aged in port barrels is especially excellent. The tour is about an hour and recommended for adults.

Very informative, interactive, and FUN! Julie was a blast. She was funny, witty, and informational. We walked right through the entire facility, up close and personal, and capped off with a tasting and chocolate pairing. Loved every minute of it. #LetJulieTaste

Nice but a bit “ stuffy”. To be clear- we did not take the tour. Rather we wanted to see the “store”. Its nice, well lit, presentable and clean. The bourbon is terrific - But - well - they are just a bit too proud of the merch. Simply put its too expensive. One example of “ stuffy” is a “clerk” said they wish to educate their guests rather than have them sample the “goods”. The liquid product is really good, the character of the shop is not my “cup of tea”.

Scooter, at the check in desk, went above and beyond with welcoming us to the distillery and connecting us to an option to experience their product!

Wow - 10/10 recommend this tour. The staff is the best in the business. They are personable, knowledgable and kind. My fiance went here for his bachelor party and I called ahead looking to do something special for him. Susan came up with the idea of engraving a bottle, helped me get creative in what it should say, engraved it herself and sent me a picture as soon as it was done. A few days later when my fiance was there she hand delivered it after his tour. I mean totally went above and beyond it was the best experience ever!! They guys also got treated so well and had a blast.

We were able to do a personal tour with Bonnie. She was amazing and the facility is amazing. Highly recommend visiting and learning. Whether you drink bourbon or are just appreciative of the process, it’s a great place to visit.

We did the tasting only. Tours were booked up. Nice location, nice building. Looks like there would be lots to see on a tour. The tasting was good, we enjoyed the Bourbon and the Rye.

We enjoyed a complete tour and tasting of Angel's Envy and found the experience to be worth the time and cost. The distillery is beautiful and the tour was very informative. It was interesting to learn how this bourbon was developed, fairly recently, actually, and its location in the heart of the NuLu district was convenient and fun for checking out nearby attractions as well.

Very informative tour and Bailee the guide was exceptional! Paired the bourbon and rye with chocolate which was a nice touch. Great cocktails at the bar following the tour.

Liam did an AMAZING job on our tour! Very informative and entertaining! Clearly he enjoys his job. Thank you for the fun!

Great tour getting to watch one of our favorite bourbons be made. Tour guide was very informative. The facility is beautiful. Great chance to sample their other products. Makes sense but I never knew that Angels Envy made rye.

We had an amazing tour from our guide Liam, who expertly and comically walked us through the whole process and tasting. All in all a great way to spend an hour downtown!

Our distillery tour was facilitated by Rick. Masterful!!! Thorough, knowledgeable, humorous, Supported the brand, the family, the production crew and the product. Rick was thoroughly engaging with complete sincerity throughout. Nothing choreographed, here! Thanks Rick!

Absolutely loved the staff at Angels Envy, the tasting was a bunch of fun and they told us the history. Didn’t get to go into the production facility which I was excited about. A little over priced in comparison with other tours. Still a must for an Angel’s Envy fan

what a fantastic set up, the place is really spectacular, the industrial look but still old woods is stunning, the angel envy is a pure delight and I learnt a lot about different bourbons, I could not imagine that you can taste bourbon like wines or beers, other tastes to discover. i bought a black top for my pleasure, great quality item, the shop is lovely , very masculine though, the place is a must go if you are in Louisville

Tommie G was our tour guide. He was awesome. Gave us insight into not only Angel's Envy, but the entire bourbon industry. Able to walk right through the distillery,up close and personal. No behind the glass here! Every one of the employees made you feel welcome. Would highly recommend while visiting Louisville.

We did a bourbon tastings. It was extremely expensive ($21) for what you got—only 2 tastes! This definitely seemed out of line compared with other tasting opportunities in the downtown area.

Amazing tour found out so much about bourbon even though not a bourbon drinker. The tasting room presentation amazing. You will not be disappointed on this tour and uniqueness of the building and the history of family building Angels Envy.

First guided bourbon tour and it was outstanding. Seeing the processing and distillery was educational. The tour guide was very informative and friendly. They go from the beginning to end and finish off with a bourbon sampling. We had two shots and discussed the tasting process. There is a bar at the top to continue tasting and the bottom has the gift shop which is also at the entrance. The gift shop has all their types of bourbon and accessories. Parking lot next door.

We had a terrific time on the Angel’s Envy Distillery tour. Our guide Brent was extremely knowledgeable on all things bourbon and the processes of distilling. The distillery is in a beautiful building downtown that has been renovated and modernized. Don’t miss this tour on the bourbon trail!

We had a wonderful Sunday tour with John. He kept everybody’s attention the entire tour with exciting insights, fascinating facts, and behind-the-scene secrets. John was a wealth of knowledge with answering all questions with a passion. I’ve grew my appreciation for Angels Envy through the tasting and creation of new recipes for an old fashion. I highly recommend the tour and would request John again.

We did the tour of the distillery, about 44 minutes, to finish in a tasting where the Guide gave us a good explanation of the whole process. And once the tour is over you can go to the bar, very well set, for a cocktail

This is one of my favorite bourbon's but not one of my favorite tours. The facility is beautiful and they certain make a great product. Our visit started with a full security check including proof of vaccines and having our ID's scanned into their system. This, to me, was a complete overreach of privacy and the only time we endured something like this in Louisville. The visitors center guy blamed it on their international 'owners' (Bacardi). On a day when many of our Bourbon Trail tours didn't even require masks any longer, this was overkill. With that bad experience to kick things off, we took the tour and did the tasting. As others have said, the price is high considering they only have two products. We did sample a third product that was in limited release, but only three total where most places had 4-5 samples for the same price or less. Still one of my favorite bourbons, but the experience was disappointing.

Great tour - easy check in! Scooter did a very good tour answered all the questions and shared fun facts! Very engaging and fun.

Angel's Envy tour was extremely interesting. They have a beautiful facility and a lot of history. You don't have to like Bourbon to enjoy this tour! I loved learning about how they take an extra step by putting their bourbon in an additional barrel to get more flavors. The bourbon has extra time in a rum cask barrel and the rye gets time in a port barrel. Nobody else does this! The history behind their choice in the distinctive Angel's Envy bottle is very interesting too.The tasting at the end of the tour is set at a beautiful log table. Once you do the tasting, they open some doors to a small bar where they encourage you to go and try one of their hand crafted cocktails(for a fee). I think everyone from our group indulged in a fun cocktail while we all chatted with one another. Great way to end a fun and informative tour! I would definitely do this tour again!

Angel's Envy provides a very good distillery tour. The distillery small - located in one building in downtown Louisville. The guide was articulate and clear and the tour lasted about an hour, followed by a bourbon tasting. A nice touch of the tasting was the chocolates provided to match the bourbon selections. The gift shop was surprisingly large and nice also.

Great tour inside distilling process overview. Only 2 to taste. I preferred the rye to the bourbon. I enjoyed my tour and recommend it.

We did not make it in time to do the tour. But my husband was able to do the taste testing, he said it was a great experience. Their bottles are on the higher side, more like a boutique.. If you are a military veteran, be sure to let them know entry is free for the tasting

We enjoyed our tour. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. We enjoyed our tasting although they poured fewer tastes than other distilleries.

Just a great experience! What a beautiful young distillery! The architecture is fabulous! Their innovation is off the charts. The product they put out is wonderful and the tour was informative and interactive. This is a must do tour for any bourbon/whiskey fan! LOVE their rye!

Wow, tour guide was Ali and she was amazing, walked the tour backwards 😎
Informative, interesting and well worth the two hours

Beautiful distillery and delicious bourbon. Went to the tasting since the tour was closed. Staff is very covid strict and things j the gift shop are way over priced. Great to visit and our tasting host was wonderful.

We just did a tour of the distillery last week. It was ok. Tickets were in the 20$ range. Tour was VERY short and rushed. You did get to sample 2 small shots of bourbon. Would have liked a more in depth tour.

Stopped in by chance while passing through Louisville and they took me on a tour straight away - just me alone! Julie was a great guide! She gave lots of good, interesting information and even told me a great place to eat after. And the bourbon is outstanding! A must stop!

My wife and I decided to take a Sunday tour of this facility. For the price of $20 per person we were very underwhelmed to say the least about this tour. We felt that the tour was rushed and very mediocre compared to the other distillery tours, which were cheaper. The gift shop was just packed with the same port-finish and rye bourbons that you can buy cheaper at a lot of other locations. All-in-all I would place this tour experience at the bottom of the list of all the other distillery tours we have taken.

Stopped along the trail to see how 1 of my Favs are made
Great building and nice tour
Most places pretty much use the same ingredients
Beautiful building and great lounge that you stop in after the tour
Friendly and knowledgable staff made the tour
Stop and enjoy you won't be disappointed

There were 4 of us that toured the distillery. The tour was awesome! Very informative. Rick was our tour guide and he did a great job! It was great!

First impressions are very good and continue thru the tour. Our guide Logan was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Main complaint was acoustics and being able to hear him well in a number of locations.
Great to see the bottling operation. Logan did a very good job walking us through tasting techniques.

Not only do they make an excellent product, but they make you feel at home. While I hate to admit that I am not a huge bourbon drinker, I did find the tour to be interesting and most enjoyable. I'd be lying if I didn't say that the tasting room wasn't worthwhile. We got to enjoy bourbon in a thought-provoking and experience-enhancing environment. The subtle tastes of Angel's Envy bourbon were delightful.

Our group of 7 came to purchase and drink (no tour).
There was a wait for the bar (don’t know why because it was empty when we got to the bar). It’s a beautiful space but the gatekeepers downstairs were not accommodating or flexible.
Drinks at the bar were delicious.

With COVID limited distilleries to visit. Angel’s Envy had a finishing table tasting. A bit over priced for 3 tasting and 2 miniature pieces of chocolate.
The talk was very interesting. Jimmy James did a great job with explaining the bourbon.

Had a great tasting with guide Dameon. They just recently reopened after the tasting room was closed due to COVID. Great tasting and of course great bourbon. Glad they reopened.

This is more a review of my husband's experience than mine.
We've been experiencing the Bourbon Trail for over a week now and Angel's Envy was the tour we booked today. A few hours before the tour, I was advised that due to construction our afternoon tour was cancelled and someone would reach out. I scrambled to find us something else to do, tours book up fast in advance and it looked like it might be a rainy day. Just as I started to think we'd be Netflixing and chilling all day, I was advised we could do a round table tasting an hour later than planned at a lesser cost (how much less, remains to be seen).
I'll be up front, I'm not a bourbon fan, so this change up wasn't really a big deal to me and I appreciated them offering us something. Our guide was nice, bit oddly rigid about where our group stood. I moved twice to get into the right place settings (they all looked the same to me). We were setup in the middle of the gift shop, so from an experience perspective it wasn't the best. Kind of loud to hear over people shopping and chatting; that said our guide did his best. We heard about the history of the distillery and founding family before the tasting began. Here's the part my husband didn't like, we got two pours of the same whiskey, the bourbon. One had a rock and was paired with a chocolate and one was neat. We didn't get to try the rye finished in rum barrels. He's a rye fan and bought a bottle so he could do his own tasting back home.
Overall, I've got mixed feelings. I appreciate them trying to accommodate our group anyway, but it was odd that we could only try one of their two flagship products.

We arrived late to the tour but the staff was so warm and welcoming and gave us a quick private tour as they walked us to get caught up to our group. Julie was a fantastic tour guide and really led us through tips of experiencing bourbon the right way. Their bar next to
The tasting room was beautiful and served excellent handcrafted drinks.

The bourbon and rye are excellent, but that’s not why I am inspired to write this review. We had such an incredible experience that I had to write about it and share. We went on a long weekend with 5 couples and saw a bunch of distilleries and horses. They were all great, but this is the only review I am writing because the tour that Bailee gave us was so memorable. She has an energy that is contagious about her passion for the process. She went into all the details while giving us a hands on and tasting tour. My favorite part was about halfway through I asked her how long she’s been there and she said 2 months, but only giving tours on her own for a month. The machines are all incredible, but the walking tour with Bailee made it a place we will return and I’ll be drinking their bourbon and rye.

We were very excited about this tour, for we enjoy products from this distillery. The tour was very neat and our guide Matt knew his stuff well. The facility is high class and clean! The tour was very educational and the Tasting experience was really good. I love they give you chocolates on this experience! I do wish they would let you try and sample along with sale tour exclusive products. Such as a more hard to find Bourbon that you have to buy on site. That’s why I didn’t give it five stars! Overall a great stop and worth visiting.

It was a small tour and we appreciated that they kept numbers small and encouraged masks. The tour was short, but interesting. The tasing was well organized and I learned a lot about how to taste bourbon. There was a nice gift shop.

We had a lot of fun! Callie was a great tour guide and she really made the experience enjoyable. The tasting room was good and then we had an Old Fashion and a Manhattan at the bar. Love Angel’s Envy bourbon!

Amazing experience doing the tour. It does get hot in the back, but it’s not too bad. Scooter was our tour guide and was amazing! All of the staff were very nice as well.

Julie gave more Bourbon information in 45 minutes that I have ever experienced. I am a Bourbon Distillery tour guide. She is beyond AWESOME!

We like AE and we have the "Finished in Port barrels" at home. And that is what you get at the tasting. Without and with ice. And that costs $12/pp.We could have done that at home.
No AE Rye tasting, no other special Bourbons. What a dud.
Stitzel- Weller $50/pp for the better tasting. You get 5 good ones, some of them you can't even find.
Old Forester $20/pp 4 good ones
1792 free, 3 Bourbons
AE $12/pp, one

Angels envy tasting was $12 each. Only the original Angel’s Envy was tasted but there was a different tasting and price for both it and the rye for $20. Our tasting guide (can’t remember her name) was excellent in explaining how to do the sampling and what to look for in each sip. We each had 2 pours of Angel’s Envy.
When we left we searched for more info on the company. Wondered where they source their grains., Disappointed to find out that this is billed as a family business yet Bacardi really owns it. It is still a small batch distillery in the heart of Louisville, but like a lot of businesses, big corporations buy them up.
All in all, worth the stop if you are in Louisville. Parking on the road next to the building is free. Frontage (Main street?) parking has computerized meters and the parking lot is $7.00.

Let down on the 'tour'. We booked the Private Select Tour to commemorate some special occasions. The tour guide was difficult to hear 80% of the tour. The tour itself was a zigzag/up down in the same confines of the vat space. The tasting itself felt too contrived, rushed and 'commercial' in comparison to other tasting tours we did on this excursion on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. We had more fun and better experiences - for free, and at lesser costs at other distilleries.

We had a nice tasting at Angel’s Envy. The tasting host gave lots of perspective about how bourbon flavors are judged. The building is nice and all of the staff were friendly.

Went with a group of 8. Was able to walk in and book a tasting. Lexi did our tasting. She was very knowledgeable, very friendly. Definitely recommend coming here.

Really enjoyed this experience!! My boyfriend’s drink of choice is whiskey and he absolutely loved this! The whiskey is phenomenal!

We just did this tour and had a great time. Kevin was so knowledgeable and his jokes were great! You should definitely take a tour when you come down to Louisville ❤️

We had a wonderful experience at Angels Envy. The tour guide, Rick, was excellent with lots of interesting info and anecdotes. The tasting was also great with the chocolate pairing. The drinks in the bar area (you have to have been on a tour to get in there) we’re fantastic. We all had a different one and all were exceptional. Highly recommend this tour.

The tasting was OK, but compared to other distillery tours, this was lacking.
Tour was minimal. Price a little high for what we got.

Fun tour! It was more of a typical, here is this, here is that type tour with some education thrown in. However, our guide Donchika was what made it extra fun! We had never tried their bourbon before, and I am glad we did. Overall, very cool and modern place. We just like the more historical bourbon brands. Really good chocolates served during your tasting, that you can buy in the gift shop!

We took the Signature Tour at Angel’s Envy Distillery ($31.80 per person), and it was an outstanding experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and gave us a complete look at how their bourbon is made, from start to finish.
The tour ended with a tasting of four Angel’s Envy bourbons, paired with three different chocolates. The pairings really brought out the unique flavors in each pour and made the experience even more enjoyable.
The distillery itself is well designed and welcoming, with plenty of insight into the history and craft behind the brand. If you’re visiting Louisville and enjoy bourbon, this tour is absolutely worth it.

Very informative tour. We were able to see how the bourbon is made and even sample some of it. The distillery is spotless!

What a neat distillery! Our tour guide Rick was very knowledgeable and fun!! Love the Rye the best!!

Scooter is great! Awesome tour at Angels Envy, recommend the bottle your own. Thanks for a great visit - also learned a ton and wasn’t bored at all (I usually hate tours 😅)

Louisville has much to offer. While it seems that the city is all about bourbon and horses, we especially enjoyed the Louisville Slugger & Museum. It’s up there with the National Baseball Hall of Fame. We also were impressed by the Mohammed Ali Center. One restaurant we liked was O’Shea’s. If you’re looking for good bourbon to buy, we found the House of Bourbon to be helpful. The downtown area is very walkable. We were there for a reunion of about 200 people and think this was good choice of location.

They were not giving tours on Monday, August 24 and I paid $10 for a tasting, which was just one kind of Bourbon straight and then with ice. We also got a piece of chocolate. The lady was very informative and nice but I was hoping we would get to taste more than one kind.

Great tours of modern working distillery (not just tasting room) with knowledgeable staff and well appointed facilities. Tours ends in a pretty nice bar with good selection of craft cocktails.

The distillery tour was great - enjoyed seeing a working distillery "as it is" without a bunch of fluff. The tour guide was knowledgable and the tasting was informative. The only complaint is that their prices for their own bourbon in the on-site shop are higher than local retail prices - not sure why ?

We had an excellent tour with Bailee. The most informative and interesting tour we had out of three on the day.
Very interesting to taste the mash and pure distillate to get a sense of the transformation across the process.
Cheers!

Angel's Envy was a wonderful bourbon distillery to tour. We did the basic tour with Scooter and he was FANTASTIC! The tour takes you through the stages of making bourbon from how the company originated by a father and son, to where they source their very specific grain from a particular farmer, to the stages of the brewing process and ends with a FABULOUS tasting. The tasting isn't just about drinking the alcohol, Scooter taught us how to properly taste it and they also pair the samples with some different flavored chocolates to create a fascinating mixture of flavors.
Would highly recommend this tour as one to visit on your bourbon trail tour. It is a smaller company that is focused on personable service.

A great tour and tasting. Liam did an amazing job. No only was he very knowledgeable he made the tour very fun. He taught me several things that I did not learn on other tours.

We stopped by Angel's Envy on a Friday afternoon, when we were visiting the Louisville area. As I approched the front reception area, we were told "We can't accommodate your party" (eventhough the gentleman never asked how many people were in "our party"...which would have been TWO people). He then said "Maybe you should come back tomorrow, or another day". We had been interested in a tasting, or a possible tour, but based on the cold reception, we walked-out, and would NOT return.
The only reason that I didn't give it a "TERRIBLE" on the TripAdvisor rating was because their inhospitable reception actually allowed us more time to visit other Louisville attractions, distilleries, restaurants and wineries...which we truly enjoyed.

Distillery guide Jess was fantastic, made the tour informative , fun , & interactive. The facility is spotless and the tasing room exquisite highlighted by the huge split oak log resin finished that serves as the tasting bar.

Angels Envy was by far our favorite distillery tour on the bourbon trail. Our tour guide Julie was fantastic and knowledgeable. The product they sell is really something else. Definitely worth the stop!

Tour was good and interesting for a newer distillery. The the young gal with multi-colored hair spoke way too fast and was hard to hear.

This somewhat newer, and small, distillery is right downtown Louisville on Main Street, at the end of Bourbon Row. Not a lot of entries for the tasting, but the bourbon is delightful and the folks there friendly. Thanks to Scooter and Greg for helping us get "walk-in" tickets. Nice way to finish the Bourbon District Walk.

We rated this distillery #2 out of the ten (10) we visited this past week and came away with no less than three (3) bottles of Bourbon from the gift shop. We bought two (2) of the single barrel releases (look for the metal wings hanging around the neck of the bottle) and one (1) of the Rye finished in port barrels.

We’ve now been on 7 bourbon distillery tours and this would be one of the best. Offered several new experiences and lots of information plus great tasting whiskey. Great tour guide and I wish I could remember her name! 10:15 tour, July 22. She deserves a pat on the back!

My husband and I both enjoyed the Angels Envy Tour. It is a rather short tour compared to a lot of bourbon tours but still interesting. Of course the tasting is the best part. I like that they paired the whiskey with different chocolates. Since I am not a big bourbon drinker, that made it much more enjoyable. My husband and I both found one of the tastings to our liking and had to purchase a bottle at the end. I totally recommend this tour!

Amazing experience! Guide did a wonderful job of walking us through the distilling process, basic history of the company, and did an excellent job of walking us though the tasting. Did a great job of explaining flavor profiles, and what separated different types of bourbon and your experience of them. 100% recommend this tour!

Spent 5 days traveling to various distilleries and ths had one of the best tours. If you want to learn about the bourbon making process, the size of this distillery lends itself to a great, very informative tour. While other distilleries do a good job, you can walk throughout the Angels Envy building, seeing much more than in the larger brands. Able to walk to all parts of Whiskey Row.

Smaller distillery so was able to have a more intimate tour and detailed history of the company. Actually able to taste the product during 2 phases of the process. Then given several shots of the finished product at the end of the tour in a sit down setting. First class. Treated us like special guests.

We went there for a tour of the bourbon making process .
Been on several over the years but Johnny did a great job of being engaged with the guests and making the experience enjoyable and educational. He then had us do a tasting and taught us how the pros do it. Stopped in at the bar on site and the two bar tenders were great as well.

We could not do the tour because of covid-19 but we did get to taste and get an engraved bottle as a keepsake.

The staff at Angel’s Envy was very accommodating. We showed up without a reservation and Scooter hooked us up. My fiancé and I enjoyed a round table tasting paired with delicious local chocolates. Beautiful decor, very unique and worth a trip to the upstairs bar.

Full production facility tour and tasty. Easy to find and check in. This is the location where core products are made. Small gift shop with items on pricey side. Tour is very interesting and informative. Impressive to see and learn history about. Nice tasting across product line with a little lesson on how to taste. Very good bourbon and a great time. Was a worth it to go on to get your kentucky hug.

Located right downtown. Tours seemed to be running every 15 minutes. $25. Had never been to a distillery before, so the visit was educational for sure. Our host/guide was fine but not especially engaging. Takes about an hour and ends with a small tasting. I have nothing to compare this to, but not sorry I did it.

Angel's Envy was a fun experience. Personally, I am a fan of their Rye over their bourbon, but both are good. You could wait a while for a tasting, so I recommend signing up for that immediately when you get there if you're planning to do the tasting.
Sign up for tours early! They were sold out for the day when we got there around 2:30pm.

We really enjoyed the basic tour, the guide was very informative. We toured the entire process and the tasting rooms were deluxe. Would definitely recommend this if you are staying in Louisville

The tour was extremely informative, and Bailee was exceedingly knowledgeable and had a few good jokes. The tasting (especially the rye) was excellent too - will definitely purchase some Angel's Envy next time I'm in the market for rye.

Our guide Dean did a wonderful job! We really enjoyed our tour and the special tasting at the end. Excellent retail space and easy parking.

I was in town for a different event and had to stop in to angels envy to see what the hype is all about. My biggest mistake was that I did not pay and set up for a tour prior to my arrival as they were sold out for the four days I was there. It seems very busy as I was able to stop in to the store and buy a bottle of angels envy and also got it engraved for only $10 more. Very clean an awesome looking inside and I can only imagine the tour is just as nice.

Facility was very well done, tour guide funny and knowledgeable, tour informative and tastings at the end made it all even better. Bar area after the tour was wonderful and the gift shop pretty good too.

Our tour was educational, and our guide was knowledgeable. It was fun to touch and taste parts of the process. The tasting was good, and the chocolates were a delightful plus.

Stopped by here to do a tasting (tours were sold out), so glad we did! We had a great experience, the tasting specialist was excellent and taught us some new tips on how to taste bourbon that really changed our experience at all the distillery tastings we attended. The young lady was quite knowledgeable and a good sport to boot!

We had an awesome guide! Rick was super knowledgeable about the distillery and the entire process! They have a great family history and product!

This was our first stop in Louisville and we had paid in advance for the bottle your own tour. The experience was awesome to fill and leave with a bottle of bourbon that was filled, sealed and labeled by ourselves. Unfortunately, that was the only thing we did, we didn’t even get to see the rest of the distillery and were left wanting a little more for our $95 “experience”

The Angel's Envy tour and tasting is an absolute must! Even having already been on a tour at another distillery, our "guardian angel", Julie, was fantastic. She made the entire time super fun. She's the best. One of my favorite things was not only do they allow you to take pictures of the whole process inside but they encourage it. I do wish they had some smaller, less expensive souvenirs, but the experience was well worth it.

Visited briefly - good experience, though the options to purchase were limited. Great location and cool history

We visited several distilleries on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail - Angel's Envy was the first and it was great. The distillery is in downtown Louisville, so no outside walking. While there was a lot of walking and stairs, it wasn't unmanageable. Our tour guide was knowledgeable, and all staff was very friendly and helpful. I appreciated the chocolate pairing with the bourbon tasting!

Adam was amazing! He is funny, knowledgeable, and taught us everything there is to know about Angel’s Envy distillation! Thank you Adam!

Great experience! We came for a day trip and didn't know what to expect. Kate (our tour guide) was lovely and super knowledgeable. Liked it so much I'm bringing my friends who come to visit soon!

Wow! Not our fIrst distillery tour but by far the best. This gorgeous new facility offered not only an interesting take on the traditional distillery tour but some surprises along the way, like hanging out in the barreling facility amongst the sweet-smelling port barrels. The tour was comfortable, casual and informative, with a guide who was able to field difficult questions. And it was followed by a delightful tasting AND a hangout in the elegant private bar. And imagine our surprise when our tour guide found out we were veterans and comped our tour? All around a great day - can’t recommend highly enough!

Scooter was a great tour guide and the facility was nice. A lot of the tour did not have air conditioning and it was very hot! It was not my favorite bourbon but you do get 4 tastings and it was paired with chocolate.

We stopped there last year, we were greeted by works saying “you cannot have a taste test”. We bought a bottle & it was just ok.

I learned a lot, facility was extremely clean, tour guide was clearly an opera singer at one point in his life (seemed a little theatrical at times but was overall very nice), learning about the process and what makes their bourbon different was very interesting. I found their prices to be very reasonable and merchandise in their gift shop to be reasonable as well.

We had the best tour guide, Terry....he was amazing...funny and so knowledgeable! We are so glad we had him. There for my 50th birthday vacation celebration with family....memories are forever. We will be back! Learned SO much!

I stumbled into an opportunity to join a tour at the last minute, and so glad I did! Our guide, Christine, was excellent! Knowledgeable, funny and very engaging! She did a great job and really did her organization proud. I knew Angels Envy, both the signature Bourbon and Rye offerings but I did not expect to learn so much on the tour. The family story, the building and the equipment are very impressive and of course the tasting experience was great. I highly recommend the tour, whether you are a Bourbon drinker or not. It will definitely engage a number of your senses and may lead to a new indulgence!

When family visiting from California wanted to see a bourbon distillery we decided on taking them to Angel's Envy based on location and reviews. The experience was amazing due to the people that were providing the tour, the great layout, and a wonderful tasting.

The distillery is right next to our hotel. Modern and comfortable. Our guide (Liam) was outstanding. He was very informative and was happy to answer questions. The tour included a chance to taste "bourbon beer" and look into the cooking vats. His tasting was well paced, informative and easy to follow. Best tour of our trip. Retail merch was good as well.

10/10 recommend! Bailee did a great job as our tour guide, she throughly explained the process and did a great job guiding us through the tasting. The distillery is beautiful. We had a 9 month old son with us as well and everyone was very accommodating. We definitely will be back!

You cannot miss the Angel’s Envy Distillery tour when you are in L’ville! It is an absolute must see! Shout out to Scooter and Gage, you’re in good hands at Angel’s Envy!

Good tour and tasting. Our tour guide was unique and memorable. Love the location in downtown Louisville close to the action. The tasting was thorough and thoughtful.

This was my least favorite thing we did in Louisville. Tour and tasting were just okay, nothing special. I disliked how they had us going up and down the same staircase multiple times. Just show us all the upstairs stuff at the same time.

Fantastic, informative tour. Tour guide was very knowledgeable of the facility. A nice look into the process of distilling. Nice chance to taste the end product, with several styles. The bar at the end of the tour was excellent to try some other whiskeys and cocktails. Staff very friendly

I did the distillery tour & tasting while visiting Louisville. The tour was informative, and the tasting was fantastic. I learned a lot about the distilling process, but the tasting was perhaps the most informative out of all the tastings I've done over the years. Very well presented. I was also exposed to the best rye I've ever had.

It was a really nice tour! Learned some things and tasted some amazing bourbons. The tour guide was good. My wife enjoyed it also and she’s not in to bourbon!

Great tour with humor, information, and a lot of history. Enjoyed all parts especially the tasting at the end.

Went for a "private" tasting experience and had a great time. Learned a lot and enjoyed the gentleman who did the presentation. Just had a very good time.

Stopped by Angel’s Envy for two tours. We did the bottling tour and the distillery tour. Overall opinion? The bottling tour at $100 is a little pricey. You do get the bottle you filled and the stand to put the bottle on which is a $70 value in the gift shop. The brewery tour at $20 is very informative and well worth the price.
If you want to go on the tour, schedule way in advance... we scheduled a month early, and there weren’t many slots left.

Such a beautiful distillery We learned so much from our tour guide, Lauren. The tasting at the end was first class. What a great establishment and felt like we were on a learning adventure from start to finish. I have already recommended this place to family & friends!

Clarisa was a GREAT tour guide (even during a pandemic where the tour was virtual but the tasting was legit)! She was knowledgable and fun. We LOVED the bourbon and the chocolate pairings. The sunset through the windows of the tasting room which was the cherry on top of our evening! Highly recommend and can't wait to come back!

The tour was a bit limited. The tour guide was great and very knowledgeable. I could tell he actually enjoyed the topic. The tasting was nice with good explanations about differences

We visited Angel’s Envy on the recommendation for a friend who was familiar with the brand but had not visited the distillery and I’m really glad we did! The distillery would not be considered one of the more picturesque distilleries in Kentucky (it is in a renovated factory), but the building is still charming and is within walking distance of downtown Louisville. As a bourbon novice I was excited to learn more about bourbon in general, and our tour guide Jimmy was an excellent guide and teacher. He took us through the distillation process and taught us the proper way to smell things (with your mouth open) and taste bourbon. The tasting was excellent and they have a nice little bar on site with some delicious cocktails. Great way to spend an afternoon!

This distillery is downtown Louisville and is a remodeled commercial building. The remodel was well done. The company history is very interesting and the tastings were great.

Great tour in Downtown Louisville and very close to our hotel. Our scheduled visit was at 4:45 pm on the first day that we arrived. We were able to see that actual bottling line in production...which is usually not seen on other distillery tours. Great opportunity to buy limited products at the end of the tour.

There are seemingly limitless options for distillery tours in Louisville. I can't compare Angel's Envy to the other ones, but did enjoy this tour and, especially the tasting. The tour goes through all the distilling steps and briefly addresses the history and what makes Angel's Envy unique (an extra distilling) and then proceeds to the tasting, complete with an explanation of "how" to taste bourbon and suggested food pairings.

Excellent bourbon made in an interesting Main Street distillery, part of the Kentucky craft bourbon movement. Generally need to reserve for the tour. One of the technical differences is that the bourbon is aged in oak as normal, then tipped into a port barrel for secondary flavoring. The distillery is quite new, airy. Nice tour, fairly knowledgeable guide. Get to see fermenter, stills. The barrel aging bourbon is not at this location because of the fire hazard it would pose downtown, so if you want to see an entire operation, go to another spot. The tasting at the end of the tour was very nice, in a pretty meeting room, rustic table. Bourbon neat, bourbon with an ice cube. Complementary Art Eatables orange chocolate at end. I love the name Angels Envy, which derives from the term Angels Share, the bourbon that evaporates from the barrels. Wood ford Reserve tour is frankly better...but thus is a nice tour in Louisville.

6 of us had an amazing time. We did the Bottle Your Own experience! We first sat and did a tasting of 2 bourbons, the original one and the single barrel (around $100) that we got to bottle. Our guide was very good, personal, informative, and added a bit of fun. After showing us how to bottle we each did our own. Everything from taking an empty bottle, putting labels on rinsing the bottle, filling it with smooth bourbon and corking it and the finishing touches. Time was an hour to an hour and a half. Cost was $149. We all agreed it was worth the price and would do it again. Make sure to reserve in advance!

We did the tour, the bourbon tasting, had drinks and ate dinner here. All of it was fantastic. People who work here are super friendly. Very much enjoyed this business outing. My only recommendation is for the retail store to be open later than 6 so dinner groups can shop.

This is a good tour of a modern distillery. It is worth a visit if the Bourbon Trail takes you through Louisville. Very conveniently located downtown. The tour doesn’t have quite the same charm and history as some of the older brands in the more rural areas of Kentucky, but the whiskey is terrific and they have one of the best bourbon bottles out there.

Great tour, interesting facts about bourbon, excellent visuals, good samples, excellent gift shop. Easy parking across the street.

Decided at the last minute to stop for one last tour before heading home. Getting to the facility next to the I 65 highway was a challenge. Our tour guide was very good, knowledgeable and informative. A couple twists that we have not seen before were interesting. Generous pours for the tasting, And delicious. Would recommend the tour with this guide.

Being fans of AED bourbon, we hoofed it down Main St. to check out the gift shop. The staff were very friendly but the selection of bourbon was sparse with, basically, the same bottles lining most all of the walls.

Angel's Envy is a large distillery with frequent tours. Since we had been on a small distillery tour earlier, we weren't sure we would like this one as well, but we did. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I was surprised that we were able to taste the mash and even more surprised that it wasn't bad! The best part was the tasting at the end. Our guide's careful, detailed directions on how to taste bourbon were very helpful. The cocktail at the bar after the tour was very yummy too.

Lyric was a wonderful guide. We enjoyed her tour and the tasting. She creates a welcoming atmosphere with a mix of information and personal anecdotes.

This is one of my husband's favorite bourbons, but not any more! We went in a little more than an hour before closing and were inquiring about a tasting. They do not offer tastings only tours. Instead of being kind and helpful, the person at the front door was rude and arrogant at our "late" arrival. We were going to be on Main Street the following day, but were so taken aback by his response, we left and will not be recommending this brand ever again. Kindness goes a long way especially if it is the first person you see in a business.

We were on our second distillery tour. I though it was going to be the same. RICK, our tour guide, proved me wrong. He shared his knowledge and fun personality with us. The tasting afterwards with delicious. The family history of the distillery was interesting.
I also like the symbol of Angel's Envy.

This was an amazing experience to see how bourbon is made. The staff was great, small group tour and everything was explained. It's well worth the time.

Not worth it. This was the only tour that required our temperature and a mask to visit. The tour guide was by bossy and short with us and the tour ended with a tasting of only two of their products. We had better tasting in bars around town. If you like this brand, just visit the gift shop, skip the tour!

My husband and I took the tour and did a tasting with Jimmy who was fabulous! The tasting room was only second to the great bourbon we enjoyed. Jimmy was knowledgeable, friendly and fun making it a great experience. We also appreciated the extra steps the distillery took to ensure guest safety regarding COVID. Thanks for a wonderful time!

We went for the pour your own bottle experience. We ended up only having a total of 4 people in the group. It was very quick and the guide was super nice. Once we were finished pouring our bottle, she gave us a quick tour of the distillery, which wasn't even a part of the experience. It was so nice and I love how everything is so clean and spacious! Our bottles are now displayed in our cabinet for all to see.

Under construction made it dreary. Very small gift shop. Nobody suggested if we wanted to taste anything. Kinda of felt we were bothering them.

What an absolutely beautiful facility that Kate the Third took us around. The doors into the distillery are gorgeous and definitely remind you of entering the 'chocolate factory'. We loved the cathedral ceiling and clean/crisp atmosphere! The tasting, with the Chimeres made us go to Art Eatables to get some for ourselves. Also, not being a typical fan of Rye, this Rye is to die for!

We hadn't planned to stop here since we were just here 2 years ago, but went in anyway to see if they had any bourbon's we couldn't get where we live.
We went upstairs to the bar and tried a couple bourbons we hadn't had and made a purchase. Nice bar area.

What a cool, fun, interesting tour! One of the more generous pours for a tour and our guide Scooter was so funny and charming. Really great tour for the price and very interesting.

As I say in other reviews, sometimes you want something a little different than your typical tour.
This easy going, small group tasting takes place right off the gift shop on the main floor and then you walk right into an adjoining bottling room. While tasting and bottling your own Bourbon, you learn about their products and the bottling process.
After filling your own bottle, it is packaged in a substantial box so that you can show it off – if that’s your thing – or pack it away to bring out for a special occasion. TIP: Before filling and packing your bottle, you’ll be asked to “name” your bottle which is entered into a log with the batch and bottle number as required by law. You can name your battle almost anything you like and you might want to think of a name ahead of time rather than on the spot.
After the bottling, we went upstairs to their bar where you can have a drink and relax before leaving on your next adventure. Angel’s Envy is in a nice space in a former manufacturing and warehouse facility originally built in the early years of the last century that has been reclaimed, gutted and completed modernized while maintaining the historic feel of the old building.
There is plenty of on street metered and non-metered parking along the building and within a block. There are a few nearby parking lots, as well.

A downtown Louisville's first full-production distillery, Angel’s Envy is by far one of the most unique-tasting bourbons in the American whiskey market today. Steeped in a history of expert distilling, it has successfully secured its place on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.
According to the Angel’s Envy site: “The 5% of spirit lost each year during barrel aging is called the ‘Angel’s Share.’ After tasting our finished whiskey, Lincoln joked that we’d finally gotten a better deal than the angels. And so Angel’s Envy was born.”
Angel’s Envy comes in three primary varieties, but the first is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon. A regular straight bourbon must be aged at least two years and labelled if aged fewer than four years. Using a mash of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, Angel’s Envy is aged four to six years in 53-gallon American white oak barrels. It is then blended and moved to 60-gallon Port barrels to be aged up to six more months in classic “double maturation” style. At the end of six months, the bourbon is blended again at 8-12 barrels at a time.
Our tour guide was top-notch, and the tour was very well-designed. The building is a must see and the Bourbon Whiskey even better! This is a must do for everyone!

If you like finished bourbon, this is your tour. The story of the company was interesting and the chocolates with the tasting did add a nice touch. The doors at the start of the tour are impressive and the tour guides are very friendly and fun.

My wife and I were joined by a group of friends at Angel’s Envy to kickoff our second Bourbon Trail tour (first leg was in October 2022). Angel’s Envy has done a great job of bringing the past and present together in their distillery. The old brick factory building is filled with cutting edge distillation equipment, creating some really good Bourbon and Rye. We loved the informational sampling of both products. It was a great way to start our second kick at the trail.

Unfortunately they weren't doing tours due to COVID, but they were still offering tastings. The tasting included only 2 of their drinks, which they had you taste neat and on the rocks and they also provided a few different chocolates to pair with the drinks. The tasting guide was very informed and the environment/room was beautiful, however the entire experience was brief for the price, especially compared to other distilleries in the area. Would love to come back when a tour was an option.

Great tour and beautiful distillery. Tour guide was very informative. The tasting room and bar are worth the tour price.

My first distillery tour and first time drinking bourbon! I picked the right place! Great facility, great tour, great staff, great bourbon! So much attention to detail and so much history in the building alone. A great experience! I feel this experience would be hard to beat!
