Artesa is a great place to visit. The grounds are really first class and the wines are too. We had a great time and the winery employees were very knowledgeable

While this was not our favorite tour, it is worth the Carneros trip to visit. The winery is a pretty setting and the wines are good. Tour and tasting was well done.

We were met at the gate warning us we probably wouldn't get a table and if they could seat us it would be 45 minute to an hour wait. We ended up getting a table in the inner courtyard which I guess we were luckier than most who turned away. But they told we could only order glasses at the bar but couldn't do a tasting. We tried to order a bottle since there was 5 of us but we were told they don't sell by the bottle to drink onsite. We ordered 5 glasses at $15 each no matter which wine you ordered. We had time so thought we would try another glass or some different wines but were told we could only have one glass so left. Never heard anything like this before at any other winery. Diminished the experience.

Was there for a CHI (Community Health Initiative) fundraiser. Wine was complementary.
Awesome views, beautiful setting, the interior was pleasant. I enjoyed their wine offerings.

This had to be one of the most beautiful and modern tasting rooms we came into, with breathtaking views of vineyards stretched across the mountain sides. Wonderful sunny balconies to sip a glass of wine, and we did appreciate sitting at tables and being served our flights of wine. Well these are organic and from Atlas Peak, we just found them OK, but we had terrific hospitality and wonderful service.

The views are amazing. Just go here for that alone. Don't waste your time with the wine tasting. We didn't find one that was even palatable. The staff was also extremely rude. We waited several minutes for an attendants attention - they were too busy engaging in conversation with another couple. It was quite obvious they were ignoring us. I could have gone to McDonalds and gotten better service. I am not exaggerating. You won't get these views at McDonald's but you will get better service.

We visited Napa and Sonoma Counties in late August 2017. This was our last stop on our first day in the region and it was by far the most enjoyable experience we had in Napa! We chose the Salon Bar tasting, since the terrace wasn't open that day, and it did not disappoint. Freddie was very friendly, informative, and attentive to our tasting preferences. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with and learning from him and left with a case of wine sent home to Austin, TX! Neither of us felt the stuffy vibe we had experienced while visiting a couple other vineyards earlier in the day. Not to mention the view is breathtaking! We would both highly recommend Artesa Vineyards & Winery, and it will most definitely be our first stop on future trips!

My favorite winery to date. The views are gorgeous, wines delicious and the the grand salon is very modern and cool. We did the tapas pairing which was excellent, and added on a chocolate pairing ... so delicious.

Unlike many of the other places and an amazing view of the valley. The wines were really good as well. I would put this up there with my top 10 places to go back to and we have been to a lot of them. Well worth the visit.

We visited this winery on the recommendation of another winery. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. The prices were high and the wines were our least favorite out of all the others around it. The decor and atmosphere were more of an urban/city feel and not that of Napa. Probably wouldn't waist our time there again.

We were in Napa and some friends from San Francisco drove up for the day to join us for a few tastings. We had a relatively nice visit to Artesa; that said, if you are going to Napa for the first time, I think there are better choices.
The walk-up to the facility is impressive; the views are stunning, the architecture is modern and cool, and there is lovely artwork and fountains. The tasting room itself has a modern vibe but also felt a bit sterile; seating was limited and it was a real fight for spots at the tasting bar. While they were flexible with what you could taste, the busy bar meant that you didn't really get to hear very much about the wine from the person doing the pouring. It had a bit of a factory feel compared to some of the other wineries at which we tasted.
The wines were OK. Certainly not among the best we've had in Napa, but a couple of very drinkable wines. And, hey, sometimes wine tasting is about the experience and the company. The company was great and the experience suitable enough. Not bad; not great.

I must say, I was pretty disappointed with Artesa. For the cost of our tasting and tour, I expected a lot more. That said, the views are stunning. In hindsight, I would have just gone for a glass of wine at the bar and taken in the views.
The tour, is a tour of nothing. We started the tour and saw some pictures, and then did a "walk around" above the winery. First stop was already boxed and ready for shipment wine, then we saw some empty barrels, a bottling line that wasn't going and then a bunch of barrels. Very little was discussed on how they make the wine, and really you didn't see anything on the tour. The tasting after was fine, but I would agree with some of the other reviews that the wines just weren't my favorite.
Overall, we left feeling like we had overpaid for a tasting and tour, when the views would have been free.

If you are in the Carneros region, Artesa is worth the ride up even just for the grounds. Beautiful views and great architecture. Being one of the first places you hit in the way up it gets crowded so plan to be at the bar with quite a few others. We did a shared tasting and happy we did as wasn't a huge fan of their wines. This was also our last stop of the trip so we might have been spoiled with others.

Try to reserve a table outside....and travel here early.
My family (husband, mom, Aunt, 6 Mo old), did a quick day trip to Napa from Bay Area where we were visiting for a wedding. We went to the welcome center for tips on where to go if we were to pick one vineyard to go to for pretty landscape, I chose this one based on Recs from there and trip advisor.
Our trip here was very last minute and we were in a bit of a time crunch. We arrived around 11 and were directed to the concierge to make reso on what was available. Unfortunately the outside patio tables were all full, all that was left were inside first come first serve tables-$35 five wine tasting and a $15 sparkling glass. The wines we tasted were just ok, I bought it just really for the Napa tasting experience. The view at the top of the entrance is really pretty so we were able to enjoy that and take pics, def would have been a better trip if we could enjoy the tasting taking in the views on the outside patio.
We def beat Saturday traffic coming up early around 10/11 in the morning.

We are not huge wine drinkers but we were told that Artesa has a great view and that is true. As an artist, I loved how the design of the building fit into the landscape and I don't usually like extremely modern buildings. A truly beautiful place. Go on a clear day.
We also liked how even if we were not big wine drinkers they gave us a taste and we bought a glass of exceptional Chardonnay. It was our first Napa winery and a good first choice. Not pretentious but beautiful.

While they are still remodeling the tasting room is in a large lobby, that won't detract much. The location is on top of a large hill in the lower valley. We were told you can see SF downtown lights at night. The weather would not allow us to do so, but it would be a great spot for taking hillside photos. The wine........ Nice selection. Multiple price points in the mid to high, typical for the nice NP vineyards. Most selections are not available in stores. If you like reds this should be a stop during your stay.

What a fantastic winery overlooking the Napa Valley. Came here for a cheese and wine tasting. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to get a table for us. The winery is beautiful in an ultra modern building. They start you off with some sparkling wine and then move to the tastings depending on what flight you choose. There were even some bonus wines that they added. They were all fantastic but we were most impressed by the sparkling wine and took that one home. The service was fantastic as well. They came often to check on us but not too much that they were annoying. A great afternoon tasting. Definitely a must visit

This Spanish family winery in Napa offers incredible, interesting wines. Tempranillo and Albarino are not so easy to find in this region, and the ones are Artesa are really wonderful and unique, as are all the wines they offer. We had a pinxhos (Basque tapas) and wine pairing, to finish our 10 year anniversary vacation. Shelby was a wonderful guide and host, very down-to-earth, open and easy going as well as knowledgeable. I felt that I learned something, but also, first and foremost, that I really enjoyed myself. The pairings were perfect and brought out the individual characteristics of each wine. If you are staying in St. Helena, like we did, this may seem out of the way - but it is worth it, for the lovely wines, views, and service.

The building itself is worth the visit.
The wines are very good and it starts from a bubbly white till a elegant Cabernet reserve.
Highly recommended. I became a member of the wine club from my first visit.

They have a very modern tasting room with an inner courtyard and a terrace if you wish to sit while you enjoy your tasting. The terrace was closed for some type of maintenance work when we were there but it's easy to still enjoy the view from outside the building before and after the tasting. The wines were OK in our opinion. Very good but not particularly notable. However, they were also more reasonably priced that what you find at some other vineyards. They have several different tasting flights available; we chose one for $25 and were not disappointed. There was zero pressure to join their wine club which we found refreshing. All in all, a very pleasant experience and we were glad we had added Artesa to our tasting list. I would not categorize it as a "must", however.

It's a hidden Napa Winery. Once you found it, it's amazing. Loved the location, scenery, people, wine. Many of the times, you talk to staff and tasting it's on the house. Of course, end up buying more when they offer complimentary wine tasting. After tasting a few red and the staff pulled out some special Red Wine and offering more complimentary tasting. Just need to talk to them and tell them what you like and they will go far and get you something big and powerful. I'm still think their Chardonnay is one of the best in Napa. The price is right and the staff is great.

It was a most excellent visit & tour of Artesa Winery. The facility and the staf were outstanding.
Would highly recommend it for anyone visiting Napa Valley.

Spectacular views and excellent wines. Anne was our guide and she is fun and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend this winery off the beaten path.

We visited this a couple of days ago and our experience was phenomenal. We tasted several wines that were amazing and the views are amazing. Our host listened to us, we said we what we liked and he customized our tasting. The charcuterie board was amazing as well. Definitely worth the trip to enjoy the grounds as well as the wines!

Jose, the concierge from the Palace Hotel, planned our trip (great tripadvisor) - First stop Domaine Carneros - Bubbles of Champagne for all. Second destination, Artesa, have you heard of this place, wow! The wine speaks for itself and the setting is not to be believed - Go, RUN, get there. Plan ahead and make a reservation or have your concierge, it's Necessary. We had the good fortune of meeting Anne - She's delightful and generous of spirit - her knowledge of wine and the region was beyond our expectation - We enjoyed the views, wine, and treats to eat - Anne was the best.
Thanks Artesa

Our favorite winery! make sure you see freddy in the tasting room! he really knows his stuff. we are now wine club members because we wanted artesa all year around at home in NY

Sometimes it is nice to go to winery and not drive up to a castle. Built into the hill so it does not destroy the landscape. Great tasting room with beautiful grounds and view. Good flight of carneros AVA wines. I lusted over the member tasting area that was behind a glass partition wall. We always want what we can't have.

The view is incredible.
This winery has the most modern architecture we’ve seen at a winery, really a must see.
Service and tastings were hard to beat.
This is a must see on your wine tasting list.

Stopped at Artesa on our way into Napa. Troy was very welcoming and knowledgeable about Artesa and the area. We ended up purchasing wine and shipping it home!

Artesa is probably our favorite estate out of over a dozen that we've been to in Napa, with gorgeous Tuscan-like hill views, and large and bright visitor center with available atrium seating. We were lucky to get a very knowledgeable guide to help us through the tasting.

Great views, great art, great service, and great wines. A must see and taste winery. Should be on everyones list.

We attended the Spanish Tapas Tasting with our hosts Lily and Allie last week and it was FANTASTIC!!! Best tasting of our entire trip, which consisted of seven different wineries. Our hosts made the experience very personable, and we LOVED THEM!!! The whole experience from the Champagne/chocolate reception that we received upon arrival to the pairing was SO NICE and fun! Their 2015 Estate Vineyard Chardonnay was probably the best Chardonnay I've ever had, bar none! VERY BUTTERY and CREAMY! Absolutely delicious paired with the roasted red bell peppers. The Bay shrimp ceviche/Albarino pairing was also absolutely excellent. Trust me, Artesa is WELL WORTH your time!!! Excellent wines, beautiful scenery, nice hosts. One of Napa Valley's BEST imo!

Couldn't find the best adjective to describe this place but Wow! I thought I was close to heaven! You drive through the Vineyard and arrive on a hill, then you take a few more steps (like 20 or so but who is counting), there are several fountains, very impressive, then you arrive at your destination. It felt like I was in one of the Bond movie where something is sooooo beautiful and then it gets blown up. Well, we did not get blown up. Just our minds! Great stop to make if you are in Napa.

Beautiful contemporary grounds and building.
My son and daughter in law recommended Artesa after visiting this summer. The grounds are gorgeous and the water is so pretty. We did the seated tasting in the Grand Salon with Brandon. Nice wines and beautiful bottles. We got a few extra pours, as we like Pinot noir. We joined the club and purchased a few bottles to take with us. Next year we’ll come back and take the tour.

Booked the terrace tasting at 10am. It was a little chilly (no heaters) but the view was amazing! Our hostess didn’t do a whole lot to tell us about the wines, but we didn’t encourage her as we were enjoying the view and talking to each other.
The inside tasting room looked modern and enjoyable too, and there were a few tables available for those who didn’t book the terrace (though they overlooked the work area as well so not quite as nice of a view).
We actually weren’t very fond of their wines, but would still recommend going because of the ambiance. And the drive from Napa/Yountville wasn’t that long.

Went for an early tasting after they opened and not busy. We were treated like royalty. Our server was most impressive and spent a great deal of time with us. He even added several extra tastings! The views and grounds are stunning but with a very relaxed feel. You do not need reservations for a walk up tasting for a small group. Highly recommend this GEM! Wines are really good as well!

This winery is setting is so spectacular up on a hill and the building and grounds outstanding. The tasting also a good value.

We loved our visit there --even though it is super fancy looking, the people are down to earth and extraordinary in their care of guests. We so enjoyed our visit!

Unique property and very pretty tasting room. You have multiple options for tastings with food and wine pairings. Dietary testing were accommodated. Staff friendly and inviting. Lots of photo opportunities!

We did the wine and chocolate tasting. Great wines and lovely truffles. It was such a beautiful day so we asked if we could do our tasting outside on they patio and we did. If you buy the amount of wine equal to the price of the tasting they don't charge you for the tasting. The grounds are beautiful here and staff is friendly.

This winery looked and felt like a modern art museum. When we arrived it took about 10 minutes for someone to greet us (seemed to be a slow day). We had requested a patio seat but were told it was too windy outside. Overall we just didn't get the interaction with the staff or the storytelling about the winery, the owners or the wine that we did at other places. Just felt like a very sterile experience.

Well, if we got to experience the winery like the lucky people that got to sit outside on the patio, then this would have been wonderful. Apparently, the reservation system decides who gets the beautiful scenic tasting and who gets to sit in a small courtyard, and there is no way o make changes if you get unlucky like we did. We, as well as several other parties, got to feel like second-class citizens sitting in a small courtyard while others got the view of a lifetime. There was no difference in the price of the tastings, no way to upgrade. We even bought about $700 worth of wine between our 2 couples and some items from the gift shop. Left really annoyed by the experience. The other folks in the court yard were equally as mad. Felt like those of us in the court yard subsidized other people's good time.

Artesa is so great! For one, the location is gorgeous. It's really high up so you get a great view of the valley, especially on a clear day. We did an outdoor tasting this time because of COVID. The wines were great (as always) and our wine educator was kind and helpful. Since were were celebrating our anniversary they even threw in a couple glasses of sprakling rose which was so delicious.

One could come solely for the architecture, landscaping, sculpture, and fantastic views of the valley, but don't stop there - the wine is well worth it. The circular tasting room is one of a kind. Excellent afternoon in Napa.

Went to SUNSET AT FERIA DE ABRIL. What a rip off. Cost $25 to get in and all you got for that was a Flamingo dancer beyond the bar in a corner where you could not see her. Everyone stood in front of seated guests. The only food for sale was $100 for two and only one entree, so either you like paella or no dinner for you! And why soooo expensive? Never again! So disappointed as I enjoyed Artesa in the "olden" days!

My husband and I had a great time visiting Artesa. We did the wine and chocolate experience and really enjoyed the tour of the property. Our server was super friendly and down to earth. We enjoyed the wines so much we joined the wine club.

We visited this beautiful winery on October 7th so we couldn’t fully enjoy the view from the top as the wind was gusting quite hard. Our host Freddy handled the situation admirably and got us inside and showed us around the facility before heading down to the vineyard to sample even more wine and have a picnic. Went back up to the amazing tasting room and enjoyed the rest of our time there. Freddy was very knowledgeable and entertaining and overall did an excellent job of representing his facility. Would definitely go back.

Our first winery visit in Napa. We arrived mid afternoon and were amazed at the winery building ( it appeared to be partially buried inside a hill ), and the surrounding landscaping. The water flowing down the sides of the staircase that took you to the winery was very interesting. We were not there for a tour, just a tasting. Our tasting host was Freddy. Experienced, knowledgeable and entertaining, he did a very good job. All the wines that we tasted were great. We chose to pair the wines with cheeses and chocolate. It was truly a very pleasant experience.
We loved the wines and as a result we joined their wine club. If you go to Napa, I recommend Artesa

We had a great experience We stayed at carneros in so it's a short drive. The setting is amazing. Views are unbelievable. We did a tapas tasting which was prepared by our host and was beautifully done. The wine was great without a hard sell disputed that I still shipped a case for the memories.

Wines were average at best. Views outstanding. Wine tasting poorly executed by staff. After buying a case and having it shipped they still charged us for the tasting. Not good.

Artesa is set back in a beautiful contemporary building. We did a walk in tasting and were quickly seated. The tasting room was smart and bright with the option to walk around and sit outside.
We are lovers of white wine and thought they had a great variety - Not just red like many others seemed to be!

We came to do a tasting and loved everything we tried. We joined the wine club and our tasting was free!

This was the first winery we visited in Napa, and it set the bar high! It's more remote than most others, so the views of the valley are spectacular, and the building itself is built into the side of a hill and is architecturally stunning. Our tasting guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and offered us a mini tour of the facility which was fascinating. The wines are great, and you are able to buy by the glass as well as tasting, which we found to be rare at other wineries in the area. It's only about 10 minutes from downtown and a must-see if you're in the area!

My wife and I are vacationing in the Bay Area and, since we weren't home for Mom's Day with the family, we went to Artesa instead. We've loved their Cabernet Sauvignon for years so we were already familiar with Artesa. We had trouble making advance reservations due to website issues so we weren't sure what we'd be able to do when we got there, except for a tasting and a tour. Luckily, we were able to do the Signature Tasting (charcuterie plate and 5 matching wines) which was a perfect light lunch/brunch. The cheeses and meats along with the wines were delicious, with our favorites the Albariño and the aforementioned Cab. The tasting took about an hour and fifteen minutes and timed out perfectly with the 2:00 tour. The tour is informative, the grounds are beautiful, and the views superb. Maria, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable and very personable as well. If she guides your tour, you'll love it. Artesa wines are not inexpensive but, for our taste, the price is well worth it, whether the tastings alone or whether you're taking bottles home. Cheers!

Highly recommend taking time for this winery for the view and beauty of the grounds. It is unassuming from the road because a large portion of the building is covered with landscaping. One thing to note- it cost extra to have a tasting in a section with a view, and a little more for the patio. Definitely worth it. The winery can get busy and isn't a place for the "personal tasting" experience, but is gorgeous.

I’ve been here before a few years ago. It’s a beautiful place in the Carneros district. Spectacular views from the patio, really cool experiences. Everything to make it a 5 star place... except for the wines. We came here because my guests wanted to see the sunset. No sunset that day as it was too overcast. The staff was attentive and friendly in spite of the place being packed with people.
No one liked the wine. I wasn’t tasting but I did try one wine and I literally shuddered and wanted to spit it out. This made me sad. My hubby is Spanish. This is a Spanish owned winery. It has all the cool modern swagger of a contemporary Spanish place. I really really WANT it to be good. Unfortunately the wines don’t remind me of Spanish wines or California wines. They had a lot of tasters. I don’t know how many actually bought wines, I didn’t look.
I would come again for another try, because as I said I really want it to be good... I would try a more elevated experience. Hopefully that will be better.
It’s totally worth a trip for the property and views. Everyone agreed on that. I hope my next tasting is better.

I am a club member here and go quite often for tastings. Today we had Maria, and she was exceptional. It was busy, but she never made us feel rushed or forgotten, made us feel special. We left the choice of wines up to her, and they were all wonderful

Really had a blast tasting at this estate. Carneros region of napa produces some high end chardonnay grapes and also delicious bold pinot's!

We have been to wine country dozens of times in the past and usually try to visit a few different wineries on each trip. The reviews looked interesting and we arrived mid afternoon on a weekend, not the best time. Deciding to do a tasting of reds as I do not like most white wines, we were told they only have one tasting available unless we wanted the pre-book $55. (and up). We did not. Our favorite wines come from large and small wineries all selected from past visits and unless the samples are extraordinary, we usually skip purchases. It was packed with people, none of the special pre-booked were unavailable. No ability to sample only reds so we walked around the beautiful grounds and left. We may return again on a weekday next time through.

Skip this one. Beautiful grounds. Wine wasn’t very good-actually didn’t like any of them. Very over priced. Just a standard tasting room. Essentially a waiter who came and poured. There are much better vineyards in Napa-would recommend somewhere else.

The views, artwork & statues are amazing. This place is very large inside & offered 3-4 types of wine tasting priced experiences with a different room or view for each experience. We were on a guided tour with 5 other stops so we did the basic tasting. Very knowledge tasting staff & great way to start the day since it's slower & less crowded in the morning.

Andrew was a great guide and did an amazing job of explaining the process that winery uses and explaining the differences in wine.

We LOVED Artesa. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. We chose to do a wine & tapas pairing and it was so much fun. They had a super table set up for us for the tasting, and we had our fair of wine and food. The tapas were delicious, and the wine was spectacular. We ended up joining the wine club while we were there because we enjoyed the wine so much. Freddy was our server and he was knowledgable and made the tasting experience even more enjoyable. This is definitely a don't miss!

We have a club membership, but live too far away to enjoy all the event perks. We reserved a VIP wine tasting and loved it!!

Artesa is so far the best winery I've ever visited, with great wines and spectacular views. I was also suprised and amazed that they belong to Codorniu - a cava which I love!

Artesa Winery is a breath taking site. However the tasting experience was horrible.
There were 4 in our party. We were seated outside with a beautiful view. We were not greeted or asked anything but which tastings we wanted by the wait staff.
The heaters they used, it was a rainy/cold day, must have been leaking as it smelled like spoiled eggs and gassy. We, ourselves turned off the propane heater being warm wasn't worth a headache :(
We signed up for both tastings offered (2 each) the person brought them in 2 crafes each time even though their were 4 people.
We had to pour our own wine out, half and half. Very small pours too.
Total waste of time and energy. With so many winneries why waist your money on this.

We stopped in to pick up a friends order and we're invited to enjoy a tasting while the order was prepared. What a treat! I'm not a big red wine fan but these were great. The Chardonnay was also great. The sample sizes were on the 4 oz size do you really got to see if you liked it. If so, you were invited to go to the bar for a glass. The scenery was also fantastic and worth the drive down the winding dead end road.
Our only regret was there was an evening event that cut the visit short so the staff could prepare. Two days later we returned to get my son bottles of a red we sampled. Since I left it in CA,all I can say is it started with a T.

Stopped with friends during our visit to wine country, the wines were excellent. The view was fantastic.

Arranged for a tasting ahead of time. Were greeted by a very friendly team member as we drove past the front gates and when we arrived at the top of the hill, someone was already waiting to take us to the tasting room.
The wines were excellent and the service was wonderful.
Beautiful place!!

Was drawn more by the architecture- and that proved to be the case.
Service was almost confrontational and the wine tasting - of some of Napa’s least desirable options was rushed.
My recommendation- avoid at all cost.

Very Very disappointing experience with Artesa! It was actually a traumatic experience. We had a very special group coming to a bike tour in the Napa area and we chose Artesa as one of our stops. We dealt with ALL the details with at least one month advance... I went personally there before the actual visit with the group to make sure that everything will be fine.
It was a disaster! We arrived and the group (9 people) wanted to leave right away! They had us in one of the rooms and the presentation was very very poor (we paid $98.00) per person! Honestly my son's birthday was a banquet compared to what they put together. They had sandwiches falling apart, old cookies, water... and it wasn't even put nicely in the table they pretty much threw everything on the table.
It made us look terrible to our clientes... it get's worse!
One of the waiters came by and asked me how was it... I said that it was no good, he simply kept walking without saying anything... we rearranged our transfer because the clients were very uncomfortable by the whole situation.
I reported to the managers days after explaining what happened that it was a very unfortunate occasion and what they could do about it...
This is what I've got back:
I apologize that your client was disappointed with their experience, I understand that they were very fatigued from biking all the way from Calistoga on the hottest day of the year. This offering that was selected is our most affordable, it's a bag lunch that we placed on platters for your group rather than providing the individual brown lunch bags.
The price per person included a winery tour (they chose not to go) wine tasting (very few did) along with an inexpensive bag lunch.
We originally had them booked for lunch & tasting in our lovely courtyard, however on the final site inspection the group chose to move the lunch to the Carneros room.
Again, I'm sorry they did not enjoy themselves, however I do not feel that a refund is due for this experience.
Sincerely,
Lori Harrison"
no comments. The place it's nice, great view but the people running it ruined any chance of a great experience. If you care about the way people treat you, do not go there.

Fantastic experience. Great wines and service. The view is spectacular. I would definitely go back with a bunch of friends.

Did not buy wine tasting but Artesa has great views of the valley and worth visiting. Nice shop for souvenirs, very classy operation

Out of all the wineries, this is the best view around. Not to mention how great the wine is. We stopped in on a cooler, breezy day, but still loved it. We did a tasting, which they were awesome about. We learned a ton about their wine and got to try more than we could've imagined. We did our tasting with Emily, who was spectacular. She told us a ton about the wines and even "forced" a few upon us which we loved (and in turn bought before leaving). Our only complaint was that their outdoor patio was closed due to construction.
Stop here, take some amazing pictures from up on a hill and enjoy some great wines.

This is my second time to visit this winery, I am taking my friends to see the place and do some wine tastings. This time service was just so-so, the girl serving seems not happy to be there. Unlike when i first came to visit this place, the guy was very friendly and enthusiastic describing the wines. Their wines are just ok, I usually bring home bottles if ever I really like a certain wine. The place is worth the trip though because of the beautiful scenery. Free to go inside if you don't like to do wine tasting unlike other wineries that you have to pay to enter.

Even though we were jet lagged we really enjoyed our experience at Artesa. Our wine and tapas was lovely, as was the views from this lovely vineyard. All the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. A lovely contemporary environment, would love to return on day.

This place is incredible you never think to find a place like this here. When you arrive to the parking you see big and incredible water fountains. High stair and on top, the entrance to the winery with an excellent view around. Inside a reception ask your preference of tasting and if you will share. Take the individual tasting if you want to sit and relax, the wines are really good. Make reservations if you want to sit at the terrace with an excellent view. Better in the afternoon after 4:00pm

Winery visit from a business trip. Walking in, we were handed a glass of wine, had several more, then got a really nice tour of the facilities. The views are spectacular, and the building itself is rather neat. Had dinner here catered from our hotel, but the service from the winery is top notch. Not generally a wine guy, but liked everything I had!

I’ve made several trips to Napa from the East Coast, and it’s always difficult to pick and choose among wineries. I decided a while ago that I didn’t have to go to the places that made the best wine but rather to the ones that offered the best experiences. I was familiar with Artesa wines before I arrived — for Napa, they are mid-priced, possibly even less expensive than most — but not the winery itself. The grounds and view are stunning! Few wineries offer that kind of visual candy. We booked the Queso experience with five wines paired with specific cheeses. We were greeted first, though, with a glass of sparkling wine. Our server was knowledgeable, and, once he learned our preferences, he poured a couple of tastes of other wines that he thought we would like. On a busier day, that might not have happened — I don’t know — but I really appreciated that I could expand the tasting. The patio offers sweeping views of the valley. Reservations are a must, whether you want a simple tasting or one of their food pairings.

I booked a tasting for 4 at Artesa because the winery was featured in the movie Wine Country and it looked so unique and different that all of the other wineries. The building and grounds are beautiful. We had our tasting in a covered outdoor patio and although we were warm, we could smell the rotten egg/sewer gas smell from the gas cylinders that were used to heat the clear tent we were in. The woman who lead through the tasting was cool and abrupt. She brought 2 small carafes with 2 very small pourings per carafe and WE HAD TO POUR OUR OWN WINE INTO OUR GLASSES?! Soooo odd. Not at all like the other tasting we had been to. Hardly any interaction or description of what wines we were tasting. The first carafes she brought out (different wines) were unmarked and we had no idea which wine we were drinking. After that she did mark the carafes. We had been to 4 other tastings at other wineries in the days before visiting Artesa, and although each place does things there own way, this place was subpar in our opinion.

Very high priced tasting fee for the poor quality of wine provided. Nice views and art work. But overall only worth seeing once for the location. Bathroom and move on .

I came to Artesa after Domaine Carneros. Arriving here it didn't really seem like we were in the right place because it is not right off the main road. We parked and there was tons of parking available and started walking up into the winery. It almost seemed like the winery was built into the mountain which was very cool. There was fountains and pools and when we arrived at the building, it was very modern. We didn't have a reservation for this winery because we read it was not necessary on their website. We checked our party of 7 in and they said they had no tables available. They found a table for out on the outside, which was beautiful. We got a table away from everyone else. We had Fredi as our server and he was amazing! Explaining each wine and what to expect from it. I would definitely come back here.

This was the first winery we visited from the last Napa road trip. It is the best so far. We were much impressed by the unique modern architectural design. The fountains reflected such a lovely morning sky that synced us with a great mood. The host’s name I believe starts with Z though I didn’t catch it very well. She welcomed us from the very beginning with splendid smile. After we were seated, she brought us tasting menu and the wine tasting lasted us three hours while we chatted quite relaxing. She introduced to us the family history of the winery as well as good knowledge of wines. Anyway, the whole experience was very enjoyable significantly because of this charming host.

This is a beautiful property with sweeping views of the valley, but the wine is average at best. I’d recommend visiting for the views if you’re in the area. The tastings are not expensive.

Amazing views in Spring & fall. The Fall & Winter rains will bring green to the surrounding landscape. The surrounding hills are charred from the destructive wildfires. But it is improving already. Milliken Peak above DiRosa Art Preserve was burned , but is getting green again. Artesa has their roof with grass growing on it. They survived !

I visited with my husband and two adult daughters on March 25, we had reservation and opted for the the outside terrace for $55/ person. The views were beautiful, our server Carla was delightful, however the serving size for the tasting were rediculous, if you get your tongue wet twice per tasting you were lucky.
The small volume of wine you get to sample were truly crazy. They also do not give you new fresh glasses for each sample and instead they just simply poor the next taster straight into the original glass. I'm talking going from whites to reds all in the same glass.....
To top this, we were told one could go to the bar and purchase a whole glass of wine for $15 while sitting inside,, the outdoor terrance was for the reserved tastings of $55 per person, however in our case, guest that were getting their $15 full glass of wine casually wandered out to the supposed reserved patio and enjoyed the view without anyone stopping them....and got to do it for $15. Total rip Off!
This visit was a total waste of $227 of thimble size tasting expirience.
Upon our return to home, I send email with request to get call back... I totally feel we should get a refund, my email was not returned and calls were unanswered. Do not waste your time and money there are plenty of wineries with beautiful views which would be grateful to have you taste their wine how they should be enjoyed!
Totally disappointed and feel we got totatally Ripped-Off!

My husband's words, pulling into the drive: "Love it. This is EXACTLY what you want the first winery you visit to look like." Spectacularly scenic - both the drive to it and the vistas from it - the wine is delicious and the service friendly and not pushy. But the reason it's really a good "first" is location - it's before all the towns, so you can hit it on the way from the airport and spend the couple hours here before your hotel room is ready! Lovely, lovely afternoon on the patio. Worth every penny.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. KARENS WORK HERE. Winery visit ruined by discriminatory/racist staff member named Maddie. We were singled out, yelled at, and restricted from exploring the winery. Management was absent and unable to address the situation. Extremely disappointed and frustrated. Ruined our time there. And the wines were not even worth it

Artesa is always on our list of places to visit when we return to wine country. Great views, nice wines, great service and spectacular sculptures. Photo ops galore!

Our first wine tasting of our trip. The views are stunning. We had a lovely table outside. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The wines were great. We actually ordered a case for home. Great way to start our day!!! What we didn't know was this would be our best experience of the day.

Gorgeous views tucked away in the rolling hills. What a great surprise as we walked up the stone steps. A one of a kind modern winery in a rural location. Such a great confluence. The wine tasting bar looked very lively and fun but after speaking with the concierge we went directly to the wine pairings. 2 of us picked the cheese pairing and 1 chose the chocolate and 1 chose the caviar. We all shared and it was the best pairings we had experienced all week! Our host ALVARRO was incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable about the wine of course but also about the history of the family of the winery. He was very personable and entertaining! He really made our experience one of a kind! The 4 girls from Florida thank you!

Wonderful experience but you need reservations to fully appreciate specific seating areas. We were not allowed access to the terrace or the bar area. However the tasting room and atrium were very pleasant. The sparkling wine was amazing.

We had excellent service at this wineray, couldn't fault it. It is possible to share tasting which we were very pleased about by the time we got there.
The wine was great, the wine server was lovely, really knowledgable. The view is also noteworthy at a high vantage point!

When our best friends, a wine loving couple from Nevada planned a visit to wine country, my wife decided it was time to finally visit Artesia. The 360 degree views are stunning including Bay Views, Mayacamas Mountains, Napa wetlands and Mare Island. The building sports an eco friendly design (grasses and landscaping on walls and roof) with a modern, Catalan (Spanish) influence. Freddie provided us a tour and we were lucky to view a bottling operation in progress. We have always been fans of the Artesia chardonnay and pinot noir, but we were surprised to find we really liked the cabernet. Although this was an excellent wine tasting - beautiful setting, nice wines, and good service - we marked it down to a four due to the high costs (ours with torn was $45 per person) and the fact that although between the four of use we purchased $280 worth or wine, they would not knock off even one tasting charge.

We visited Artesa in November 2019. First, the view from the winery, which is elevated, is breathtaking. The wine was exceptional, so much that we are having wine shipped monthly. The Pino Noir and the Cabernet Franc were def favs. If you are in the area, do not miss this gem!

This was The first winery we visited while in Napa and it truly set the bar high! The moment you walk up the steps leading to the entrance, the view is just stunning! The host was very welcoming and even though we didn’t have a reservation, we were able to get seating for a tasting on the beautiful deck. The wine was phenomenal, as well! I can’t wait to come back and visit!

A really nice, informative tour provided by a wonderful, polite guide. He was super in depth and genuine, and we learned relatively more here from the tour itself than compared to other wineries...BUT then came the tasting. Guy seemed understaffed (why they didn't provide him backup isn't clear) trying to manage the sale of bottles while also pouring (or in our case not pouring) samples. Great, interesting winery but be prepared to be patient during the tasting.

I am not a big wine drinker but love to come here for the ambiance and view. Well worth the excursion.

Very disappointed. They have these special tasting areas and it take FOREVER to get service. We are members for more than 10 years and re are rethinking that membership.

We have been going there for the tastings and the views, so we booked a group tasting / lunch event. Genevieve and her team helped to plan and everything went perfectly as planned - tour, tasting, lunch and all. Artesa's service shows they know their wines - but they are warm and welcoming no matter the day. What a beautiful set-up they have - we look forward to our next visit!

This is truly a five-star winery! Thanks to our friend who is an Artesa wine club member, we enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting on the terrace curated by Keegan. We enjoyed everything we tasted – the quality was outstanding and the views from the terrace were glorious!

I've come here before and I keep coming back. The architecture is modern and stylish. The staff is friendly and welcoming. We had a new tour guide named Lily who was charming and informative. Artesa wines are not well known but are outstanding. I highly recommend the Pinot Noir. I love this winery and I hope I can visit Napa again so I can come back one more time. Joined their wine club.

We had the pleasure of a wine and chocolate pairing for our tasting. Jesse was knowledgeable and accommodating. The view from the tasting room was spectacular, even on a rainy day. There was a broad selection of wines for the tasting, each paired with an artisan truffle. It was a delightful way to spend a rainy morning.

Go to this winery for the view and the tasting room. Both are gorgeous. The staff was pleasant but a bit harried. I did not enjoy the wine here quite as much as other places we visited but others may love it. I would definitely revisit post-COVID as I would like to experience their food options. Right not they were only offering a charcuterie plate. The interior bars and seating are very inviting but the outdoor patios have fabulous views.

We have been here several times. Every time I am impressed with the staff at artesa tastings. Alvaro far surpassed everyone else. Darling personality, extremely knowledgeable, so great with my 90 year old parents and his selections were awesome. I will definitely look for him next time. If you only have time for a few wine tastings - this should be at the top of your list. Not to mention the breathtaking views!!!!!

The winery is under a little construction so the entire space isn't available to view, but the view outdoors was so worth the trip. Infinity edge fountains, greenery for miles, just amazing! We saw one couple come up just to take pictures and never came in for drinks.

I went to Artesa for wine tasting, and it was such a beautiful experience. The vineyard is stunning—walking up past the fountains and pools of water to the building built into the hillside, perfectly blending with the vineyards and the surrounding landscape. Inside is just as lovely, with elegant Spanish décor.
We were helped by Anne, who was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable. I learned so much about the vineyard and the winemaking process. We enjoyed tasting a variety of wines paired with some charcuterie, and it made for such a memorable time. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful experience—I can’t wait to come back!

Our party of 3 had a 4:00 reservation, which I think is the last reservation they offer ( 4-5). We were greeted fine and told we could sit inside or outside and we choose outside. It took awhile to get our first pour and after that it took a long time ( I think 20- 25 minutes at least) to get the second pour while finishing with other tables.
We then kind of strangely got the 4th and 5th pours served together as she said "we are closing soon so I want you to have these both to enjoy now". While thinking about it, we realized we didn't get our third one and went back inside to say we needed that. It was given by someone else and very apologetic about it. There was also someone next to us complaining about their service as well and wanted to speak to someone there about it, which made us a little uncomfortable/ awkward ( I know they can't do anything about who sits next to you).
Overall, just not a great experience.

So I am not sure, what to rate. Some things were good and some not. Location is very good. Views are awesome. Enough parking. It says online that walk-Ins are welcomed, but when we were there, the only availability was the tasting with only two choices and that too had 20 min wait time. Everything was booked. There was only one big room where you can sit, stand or taste. Unlike other winery, we were not allowed to see the property. Seemed like attention was paid to the customers with reservations or buyers, not for us who wanted to enjoy the day in Napa.

This was my first visit to Artesa. I loved all of the features and the setting, it's beautiful. The wines were excellent. I loved the chardonnay. The staff was very friendly.

We arrived in Napa late in the afternoon, this winery was recommended to us by the hotel , we knew we would only get to visit one but I believe in this context we hit the jackpot. The drive winds up to the car park giving you glimpses of the views, the building are tastefully build to blend into the hills the views are beautiful after the wine tasting we sat around and enjoyed the scenery , inside we were shown to a circular bar where our host introduced us to the different wines , over all a memorable experience would strongly recommend visiting

Artesa is a beautiful winery and is quite romantic. The design is quite modern and you're able to see the spanish influences in the surrounding art pieces. They have a terrace that overlooks the surrounding hills and is quite picturesque. It would be best to book an experience to ensure that you're able to access the terrace as it fills up quickly and our reservation was for 10am. As we were one of the first groups there, it felt almost as if we had the entire place to ourselves (there was one other group) before other visitors started to trickle in. We went here for my husband's 37th birthday and did the 'Chocolate Indulgence' experience. If you love chocolate, I definitely recommend you do this! The wines paired with the chocolates were exquisite and delightful, enhancing the flavours with the chocolates. We said that if we were able to do it again (as it didn't quite work out with our schedule at the time), we would do this as an end of day reservation to end it off with a peaceful and view filled experience. We did 4 winerys and found it was too much, 2 would be the best as you would have one in the morning, go for lunch, do a 2nd one in the afternoon and then go to a nice dinner. The experience itself is the full 1 1/2 hrs but if you want to take your time to explore the grounds and walk around a bit, I'd recommend that you allow yourself around 2 hrs so that you're not rushing and able to really enjoy your time at Artesa. Alvaro was our Artesa Expert and he was very pleasant, knowledgeable and able to provide great advice in which wines to sample based on our preferences. He made us feel welcome, comfortable and confident in his skill and expertise with the wines. Thank you Alvaro!

Never heard of Artesian before but saw the revoeand was close to hotel so figured why not.... Omg.... Soooo worth it. In Caneros valley, Spanish owned winery... 5 different samples from sparkling to chardonnay, pinot, temporinillo and cabernet... Tapas pairing was unreal!!! Everything was great... Chocolate ganache, ceviche, goat cheese, prosciutto etc.... The best part was our host Shelby. She was awesome.... Friendly imfortative, and very generous.... 5****++++++......Definitely would recommend over and over again... 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

This was our first trip to wine country. I asked the concierge at the hotel we were staying for their top three vineyards and he recommended Artesa. In the heart of Napa, this is truly a gem. It is a beautiful, modern winery, very clean. We bought a bottle of their Sauvignon Blanc and enjoyed the outdoor patio. We met another couple from Chicago and had a pleasant conversation with them. Although we did not have reservations for a tasting, the staff was accommodating and engaging. The patio has panoramic stunning views!

This was our first stop in Napa and absolutely loved it! Between the wine, staff and other vacationers, the experience was fun! Our host had an upbeat attitude and had great knowledge with Artesa’s wine! I loved how he catered more to the whites I loved. I highly recommend trying the 2018 Albariño Los Carneros! Super yummy! Will definitely be going back on our next trip to Napa 😊

We had an amazing wine tasting experience- Shelby Jensen has excellent wine knowledge and made our stay outstanding.

The aim of this comment is to warn all those who want to visit ARTESA winery. On Wednesday 30th August, happened something horrible when I got this place.
Getting to place at 11:05 approximately, I asked a woman -that now I know her name is Rachel-, If there were tours to see the wine production as well as to see the property. She approached me, she looked at me up and down and told me that in the tour nobody hadn´t showed up (I didn´t know that I was anybody), also looked at my watch to reinforce such statement.
It didn´t matter how many times I explained her that there were only 5 minutes past the tour time, it didn´t matter I explained her that on the 101-freeway cars suddenly stopped and, certainly, it didn’t matter and she didn´t care I told her I came from very far away -Mexico City- only to visit her winery, among all others that are Napa Valley and I wanted to get the tour and bottles of wine.
The most shocking and nuisance expression that this person could said was “you can go to another winery, you can go to Robert Mondavi”. By the time I heard that, I thought I had misheard, but she emphasized her speech, saying “Our next tour is at 2 p.m., but if you go to Robert Mondavi stay there, you won´t have time to come back”
I don´t know what kind of employee (from any enterprise or business) drives a client away, instead of keeping him with them, and the worst thing is to encourage the client to visit the rival – Robert Mondavi. If I was the owner of this sort of business, I would treat the clients respectfully and would make them feel comfortable by having an alternative way to compensate those bloody 5 minutes the person got late. Why? Because…the simple reason is I would depend on people who can give money, in order I can feed myself.
I reported this “person” to her management -Lorry-; however, she asked me from which part of Mexico I came from. It seems for this naughty establishment is very important where the people come from.
I can only say that, please avoid this winery and yes, they were right about Robert Mondavi. The winery is great, the workers treat the customers superb and the experience is enjoyable and they make you feel as a “real person”.

This winery is built mostly underground or with planted layers on the roofs. Striking fountains, and stairways up to the main level with spectacular views over the southern Sonoma and Napa AVA's out the bay. The wines are fine examples of Carneros district wines. Lemony citrus style Chardonnay and the Pinots have a Burgundy (earthy) style aroma. A nice tour is available. If you are wine tasting in the Carneros district, south of Sonoma, this a worthwhile stop.

We booked a tour and tasting. The group was 12 and seemed to overwhelm our host during the tasting. The tour of the winery was interesting but in the end it was just a factory. Nothing personal here. The view from the patio is very nice but the actual winery building is below ground and unattractive. Despite all the hype from the movie Wine Country, there was no WOW factor at all. Our tasting was outside the main tasting room and there was no view; it was simply a long rather sterile bar. Our host spent too much time talking to one family and overlooked the others even with wine samples for which we paid We finally gave up and left before tasting all the wines on our menu. What we did taste was just average. If you want to see the view, just go to the winery and walk around. No charge to look around.

This was a our first stop on our weekend wine tours! Would definitely recommend! We joined their wine club!

Recently spent time here at a wine tasting and had a great time! The people were fun and knowledgeable and the wine terrific. The setting is a more modern facility than a lot of other vineyards but the wine was great!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent service and stunning place!
Absolutely loved our visit to Artesa Winery — the wines were exceptional, the views breathtaking, and the staff incredibly welcoming. A must-visit in Napa Valley!

oh, the wine isn't bad either! This winery is owned by Spanish wine family Cordoniu. Oddly, that is a sparkling wine house, and Artesa was once but now is a still wine maker. Good selection of wines including Spanish grapes, Spanish blend and Bordeaux style blends.

Ultra modern architectural building with great views.. If the fog or air quality is not too bad, you can see San Fransico.

Such a great place to go for a wine tasting. The view was by far the best he had the whole trip. The Rose was very yummy!

My girlfriend and I went to this place and had pre booked a wine tasting for $55. We were really looking forward to it but it was overpriced and really disappointing. Do not go and stay away!
The wines were simply not very nice. The information card they put in front of you claim they sell the wines for $60-$90 but having tried them, I find that hard to believe. The quality was poor and the vineyard's two main wines were also not apart of it, something which I personally was surprised at. Whilst this is of course subjective and everyone will have their own opinion what isn't and is more factual is the small volume of wine you get to sample - very little and frankly quite frugal. They also do not give you new fresh glasses for each sample and instead they just simply poor the next taster straight into the original glass. I'm talking going from whites to reds all in the same glass! I'm no sommelier but I'm fairly certain that's not how you are supposed to do it. Bizarre for a vineyard and very poor!!
Next, the staff member who was supposed to provide the experience did a very poor job. Completely disinterested and to be perfectly honest, I feel I could have competed with him on knowledge, having red the information card you are given at the start!! Service was terrible - he was either lazy or unknowledgeable but most likely both. Again a complete let down. Couldn't even have the awareness to top up our water and we had to ask him about 5 times because the cups he gave us were like shot glasses (not a joke)!!
Finally as you will certainly read in other posts, the views are amazing and this is the small positive in an overall negative experience. But this is not something that you cannot get somewhere else or whilst driving around!
I would actively discourage anyone else from trying it out. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE LIKE WE DID, TRY ANOTHER VINEYARD INSTEAD - ITS NAPA THERE ARE PLENTY!!

I had the privilege of attending a wine tasting/business dinner event at Artesa on 6/1/17. The grounds of the winery are absolutely stunning! You can see beautiful vineyards and rolling hills for miles and miles - it took me back to my recent visit in Tuscany! Once you enter the winery, you will be pleasantly surprised by the size of the tasting area and the way the space is used. There's a balcony/terrace with gorgeous views if you'd like to be outside, but there is also a lovely courtyard within the winery that allows an outside feel without the wind. ;). There's plenty of room to mill about inside, as well.
We were fortunate enough to spend some time with the Director of Hospitality, Lori Harrison, who spoke to us about the wines and the history of Artesa (it is the oldest family business in Spain!). She was readily available for all of the attendees and made sure everyone was well cared for. Artesa is very lucky to have someone of her knowledge, kindness, and warm personality on staff.
The wines we tasted (Rose, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cab, and Albariño) were delicious! I would highly recommend the Albariño in the Texas heat while relaxing by the pool and I'll be buying several of the Rose for some upcoming celebrations!
The dinner was hosted in the wine cellar which is a beautiful venue (albeit a bit cold) for celebrations of all kinds. The food was delicious and we all commented about the professionalism of the servers.
I HIGHLY recommend including Artesa Vineyards & Winery in any Napa tour plans you're making - you won't be sorry! Ask for Lori and you will be sure to make a new friend and walk away much wiser!

I've enjoyed Artesa two other times, easily 10+ years ago. With high hopes and memories, a group of six of us made an industry tasting appointment for this past Saturday afternoon. Artesa will always rate as one of the most stunning locales, absolutely a gorgeous setting inside and out. I was however surprised to see how the winery has evolved over the last 10+ years. Too commercialized, Artesa's setting, tasting areas and service have become for the masses. Their wine, which is still incredible, is why this review rates 3 stars (would have been 5 if not for our tasting experience). In short, our table for five wasn't ready at appointment time, we were quickly shuffled to a moderately clean table that frankly none of us wanted to touch (wine spills and food on it). Our "server" (because that's all she did, serve tastings and not even clear empty glasses), didn't clean off the last party's mess until asked. I was really disappointed in the lack of attention our party received, it truly left a sour taste in our mouth. Were we treated poorly because it was a slightly discounted industry tasting? Perhaps. Were treated poorly because our attendant was overworked? Also possible. All in all, we were not impressed and left without purchasing any wines. Kept my tasting notes for our Single Vineyard Tasting (which by the way we had to ask TWICE for our tasting notes and run down of WHAT we were tasting). TWICE. Not acceptable. Not at an average of $80 a bottle for what we were sampling.

Our first visit on over 7 trips to wine country. The general area (Carneros) may get overlooked by some tourists because it straddles Napa and Sonoma valleys, so the local wine maps do not show the entire area. But the area is known for Pinot Noirs, and if you love those wines, the production and variety in Carneros can't be beat. Additionally, this winery is owned by a long standing and premier Spanish winemaking family, with a particular focus on sparkling wine. There are a wide variety of tasting choices. The views from the winery are spectacular, and the architecture of the winery, inside and out, is stunning.

We enjoyed the wine and chocloate. Delicious!!! You receive many wines to taste. The winery is beautiful

Just returned from a wonderful trip to Napa in California. We were able to visit over a half dozen winery's and had a great time at each of them - until we reached Artesa. While the view was beautiful, the staff couldn't have been more rude and unaccommodating. We were there at mid-day and the place was maybe 30% full. The concierge would not even discuss setting up a tasting for 6 "We only set for table of four" and this was conveyed in a very arrogant tone. Please, I would only say stay away and visit other places since this one will leave a very bad taste.

We stopped in Napa for one day on our way to Hawaii and came here. Views are amazing if you do a tasting outside. You can also sit at the bar inside to drink glasses. It is a bigger winery but the pinot noir is great. Our server was very nice too.

Everyone here is super friendly, helpful and very, very nice. Willing to talk about their favorite subject, WINE. Really small and selective gift shop. Member tasting room, just great place to have fun.

We visited Napa valley as part of our 28 day road trip from Seattle to San Diego via the Pacific coast highway so this was a beautiful detour off into a spectacular region.
This vineyard is a true gem a little away from most of the vineyards on the St Helena strip but still quite close.
It has a spectacular setting with breathtaking views of the countryside & vineyards. The design of the tasting rooms and buildings in this location is truly great and make sure you pay a bit more to taste over looking the spectacular grounds.
The tasting experience itself was wonderful with a great lady called Teal looking after us brilliantly and she give us a truly great tasting experience, she was a superstar and when we come back to Napa we will be coming back here that's for sure.
We had a great start to our day here and when tasting or wine exploring in Napa DO MISS THIS PLACE every aspect of it is superb.
When we come back to Napa we'll be back here, Big well done from WALES (UK) and tell Teal we said Hi from Andrew & Phyllis.

When you are atop this Winery the view is simply stunning. The staff was wonderful and our visit was top notch. We enjoyed everything about our visit. We had a private event at the winery and it was very enjoyable.

I love visiting Artesa!! This is one of my favorite wineries due to the view and the service. I'm now a local now and it's a great place to pop in and enjoy some wine and views. I also enjoy bringing visitors here as they have many wine options. Champagne, albarino, sauvignons, cabs and other varietals.
Z (not sure of spelling) is always very helpful when I'm at the winery. She remembers me everytime I come for a visit. She never rushes you and always takes time to explain and answer questions.
I would highly recommend the winery. I do try and visit in NON peak times as it can get really busy and crowded.

Our tour guide, Rick, was so helpful in serving various wines with chocolate pairings. He took us on a brief tour too. This was a beautiful winery with incredible views of Napa valley!

Not on my original list until I saw the Movie and had to find which winery. A little different than expected but still quite stunning. FYI the movie makes it bigger than it really is! It was atop a hill overlooking the valley. While driving around the area you can see it as you drive closer. A large A marks the entrance into the tasting area, You might want to all ahead to make sure you can get in as this winery is becoming a very popular stop. A large set of stair from the parking area will guide you into the tasting area. If you do not like stairs, drive around to the handicapped parking area and take the elevators. This is my preference as it walks you thru the banquet and barrel cave area. Once you come in to the main tasting area it is modern elegant. There will be someone there to greet you and guide to to the tasting bar, room or event. The wine is good and the people are very knowledgeable, After tasting you can purchase by glass and sit in the courtyard. You can not take wine out side.

Artesa was the first stop on our vineyard tours of Napa Valley. The views from Artesa are breathtaking. The wine pairing was also very good. I agree with previous postings. Do not even bother going here unless you book ahead. The place was packed.

The vineyard is absolutely gorgeous! We had a great wine tasting paired with a charcuterie board. We sat outside and were amazed by how beautiful everything was. The Rose’ is the best of any we bought from any of the vineyards. The Staff was friendly. All around it was a fabulous experience!

I don’t even know where to start. I visited Artesa 5 years ago and had a nice experience (mainly the views now that I think about it) so returned with sine friends who had never been to Napa before. When we walked in to the “tasting room” it was total chaos. I felt like I was at TGIFridays that’s how commercial and chaotic it was. We sat at a table adjacent to the bar and waited 10 minutes before finally flagging down a bartender. She came over and was nice enough but again I felt like I was at a casual dining restaurant chain. We ordered the flight and we’re robotically told about the wine and the pour was the smallest I’ve ever seen...you were lucky if you can divide it into 2 sips. Long waits in between tastings and again had to make eye contact with our hostess to get subsequent tastings. We moved to the bar to make it easier for her. Didn’t help and in addition to the lack of service they were getting ready for an evening event and there was so much loud moving and set up going on it was ridiculous. The server left an almost empty bottle in front of us and we assumed it was for us so we poured it into our glasses. Again, after receiving no attention for 15 minutes. That’s when the most arrogant and unprofessional and confrontational and condescending bartender I have ever seen, Freddie, totally chastised us. Our original server was even mortified at his actions and ended up comping our entire wine tasting and also gave us a bottle of wine for his totally inappropriate behavior. No words for this place except stay away. The views aren’t worth the total lack of service and obviously unhappy, untrained staff. Oh, and not sure what this is all about, but the employees are constantly measuring/marking the bottles...another first for me and very annoying. They should be focused on the paying guests and not the bottles.

The view was so worth it, we took friends who joined us the next day back just to see the view. We thought the wine was good (a bit pricey) and it seems a little snooty to have areas that you can't get to, but we were just there for a glass and the view, so that was good enough for us.

We chose our visit after a random Google search looking for wineries with a view. Their website said walk-ins welcome. We learned upon arrival that walk-ins are only accepted based on how busy they were. In our case, they were able to accommodate us on the patio. Protected from the hot sun by big umbrellas. Beautiful views over the countryside. San Francisco can be seen in the distance. We chose to drink by the glass instead of a sampler flight. The chardonnay and the albarino were delightful.

Great winery to go in Napa. My friend and I had the red wine tasting. Modern decoration /building , beautiful view. I highly recommend to do the tasting with Ryan (great service!)

Had been here previously, it was lovely ! Few folks here today and said they served reservations only ? So we left biscuits this afternoon club only establishment ? Fineness just note that upfront?

What a lovely spot. The tasting experience we had was like to other. Great friendly staff paired with lively wines! Cheers.

This winery was awesome! We stopped here for our second tour of the day and it was amazing. The history behind this winery was so interesting and I love that it was built into the hill- definitely different than the other wineries in the area. Wine was exceptional and they had a great variety to choose from. Would definitely go back, the views were unlike any other especially with all of the water features. The barrel room downstairs was great and awesome for our private tasting! Perfect for big or small groups.

We have a very nice time to taste different wine type 5 glasses for 35$ plus taxes , amazing view over top of the mountain

Had a great tasting here while enjoying some beautiful views. The pours were generous and we tried a variety of wines. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and relaxed experience.

Amazing views. Beautiful vineyards and panoramic views. It’s a gem. We had a great time and loved everything.

Beautiful winery with amazing views and architecture. Wine was just okay. The fountains and outdoor patio area are definitely worth the trip.

I saw Artesa on the Netflix movie "Wine Country" and a co-worker of mine is a member and suggested I visit when I told him my wife and I were heading to Napa for a weekend getaway. The views were just breathtaking, even mid-November and the winery itself was amazing. The wine was excellent, so much so that I became a member. I would highly recommend.

Great selection of wines, very attentive and helpful staff and the views are breathtaking. Great for couples of groups too.

We enjoyed about an hour at Artesa Winery. We had great service from Freddy who was instructive, funny, warm, and very informative about the wines on the tasting list. He was also quite flexible in meeting our preferences. Just great.
Of course we ended up buying a couple of bottles and very happy with the results. The place is beautiful and offers outstanding views of the surrounding countryside.
Well worth the visit. Although the wines are a little pricey, there is a wide range of interesting flavors and many choices. Enjoy the experience.

Our tasting at Artesa was second to none. The Scenery is breathtaking, the wines delicious and the staff was so warm and welcoming. This will be on our "must do list" every time we visit Napa.

So disappointed with this visit
Yes the views are amazing and the grounds are impressive but this is not enough
Tasting information was perfunctory and not particularly convincing
We paid extra to sit on the terrace only to find we were overlooking the car park and the parasols gave no respite from the sun
Surely when one of our party was unable to drink they should offer more than still water?
Finally the loos were in dire need of a good clean Totally unacceptable.

The views can't really be beat. The decor is more modern than I would have initially thought a winery would have, but I liked that. The tasting was fun (they were busy that day, so it took a bit of time to get going), and our 'wine guide' was a delight. (I didn't catch her name though).

This winery is in a beautiful location. The service was great as well as the wines. The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because they have three different tastings based on location. In order to get on the balcony you had to pay a lot more.

The views are the best in the valley, but the wine is just ok. You'll need to make a reservation to be allowed outside on the terrace. Fantastic architecture, incredible sculpture. Recommended.

If you are visiting the winery and have a party of 7+ make sure you have reservations. We had a party of 9 and were kicked out as soon as we entered the winery by an older gentleman. He was quite rude and loud. As we were leaving we took the wrong turn he followed us and asked us to leave again. It was humiliating. never visiting the winery again

Last week, a girlfriend and I visited Artesa. She had heard about this vineyard. It was my 4th time visiting this winery as Artesa, and once years before as Cordineau (sparkling wine). The grounds are simply lovely. The tasting room sits atop a hill and you can see quite a distance in various directions. The winery is dotted with pools and modern waterfalls. Very fun. The tasting is $25. She and I split a tasting. Our sommelier was delightful. Very trendy, upscale tasting room. I am primarily a red wine person, but white wines are Artesa's specialty.

Beautiful grounds and scenery. Utterly lose yourself on the balcony. Tour very interesting and guide just superb. Whole place is modern and spacious. Wines were just amazing and service for tasting excellent. We bought wine even though we had to get it back to the UK.

This was our first stop as a family on our day trip to Napa. Outside it has beautiful views and we were ready to get started with the wine tastings. The bartender was a really old man who had absolutely no charm, had no idea about the menu (ordered something totally incorrect for us), and at one point asked us if we were going to help him clean the glasses. How about you do the job that you are paid for?? A grumpy waitress with a terrible attitude kept glaring at us, served us the wrong food and when we informed her, she was exceptionally rude. We told her the bartender suggested a certain platter, which she said wasn't on the menu. And then rolled her eyes and said we should talk to the bartender. She yelled at him about ordering the wrong item which he then corrected and brought out to us. These kinds of people should not be in the hospitality industry. Exceptionally rude and unhappy people who hate their lives and ruin the experience for other people. Very unhappy, we barely left a tip and when we went to look for a manager to speak to, there was no one. Also, the wine and food were substandard. While exiting, we realized a lot of people were reaching this vineyard, taking pictures outside and leaving! This is a way better option if you must go here. Or you could skip this terrible place entirely and go across to the extremely charming Domaine Carneros vineyard nearby. Excellent staff, great food, and wine. And does not look and feel like a dungeon of a Bond villain. Lessons about basic hospitality and likeability should be taken by Artesa from the Carneros staff. We spent a few hours at Domaine Carneros and tipped heavily.

The location is spectacular, the cheese and wine pairings were good. The wine was ok.
The view alone is worth the visit. Unfortunately when we went the front entrance was under construction and it was rainy, so we had to go all the way around to the terrace to get in.

This was our first of five stops on a beautiful Tuesday morning. Our driver told us a little bit of what to expect but seemed to be driving us to the middle of nowhere. Then we went up a driveway to a beautiful winery with an exceptional view. We split a tasting (which I would always suggest on a tour) and our server was very friendly. The wine was good but the view will bring us back.

Napa has a lot of wonderful wineries to visit but this place has it all. The location and property is stunning, the wine is incredible and the prices are noticeably better than others of similar quality and staff are knowledgeable and helpful. The tour is very well done and worth the time for sure (Z is the best), there was not a single wine that we didn't think was good (and that is saying a lot b/c this is the only place we visited where we both felt this way), while others were incredibly delicious. I will go back everytime I am in Napa, the whole experience was a good one.

A friend brought us here, and what a finding! The estate sits on a hilltop that offers breathtaking view of the valley. The wine tasting hall is modern and bright, and the wine we tasted was good. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Artesa is a must do if you are looking for a beautiful scenic view to compliment your wine tasting.
Sitting outside overlooking the valley is expense but worth every penny.
Andrew is the man.

This was our first stop on our 4 day Napa tour and ended up being one of our favorite places! To say the views are breathtaking is an understatement. Honestly, while the pictures are absolutely beautiful, they simply don't do it justice. Sit on their outdoor patio while doing your wine tasting to truly get the full effect of this beautiful place. The wines were also excellent.
We initially planned on just doing a walk in first thing in the morning but was so glad I read the other reviews that highly recommended making an appointment. The patio tasting is a must, there is nothing special about the tasting room itself and you will truly miss what makes this place wonderful if you do not sit out on the patio and enjoy the panoramic views of the mountains while drinking their wine. This was the perfect first stop of our trip and we immediately felt so relaxed sitting out and enjoying the truly breathtaking views here.
Would definitely come back to this beautiful winery with excellent wines.

As with most Napa Valley wineries, this is a beautiful winery with a great selection of wines. Unfortunately for us, we did not have reservations, and as such we had our wine tasting in their foyer (called the classic tasting flight). They have several other areas accessible with reservations and or membership. Thankfully, we were helped by a great wine steward who guide us through the tasting. We also had the opportunity to taste some of their more esoteric offerings of which we ended purchasing several bottles.
One thing I particularly enjoyed, is that Artesa is a little bit off the beaten path and as such offers a very serene experience.
Hint: Book in advance

Artesa is tucked away from the city, but is well worth the few extra minutes to get there. The winery is set in the hillside, and beautiful sculptures and fountains can be found around the property. We had a private tasting and tour with Anne (who was incredibly knowledgeable and simply delightful!) The views are spectacular, and the wine is excellent.

This used to be my go to winery when I had guests as it has stunning views from the terrace. The flight prices were in line with other wineries. In the fall I noticed the price had increased with only one option available. Still acceptable. This Sunday, much to my chagrin, I was informed that I couldn't access the Terrace. The new policy is 3 tiered. Access to the Foyer bar (the lobby!!)at $35; Salon bar at $45 and the Terrace at $55. Really? The only reason to go to visit Artesa is to enjoy their nice wine from their terrace setting. At the moment the delightful fountains and parking lot are free. What a disappointment ! Looking for a new go to winery.

I live in Napa and this is the number one winery we bring out of town guests to. The gardens outside are breathtaking, a beautiful fountain and views to die for. Inside there is a wide open room and a large patio with views from the other side. You feel on top of the world! No negatives. It's all wonderful there! The tastings are affordable too.

Beautiful views of the north bay from this hilltop winery. We were treated very well. The bonus about going in December is that you get a wonderful sunset around closing time (5pm) that you do not get in the summer. The wines were pretty good, but the service and location were top notch. We left with a wonderful bottle of Merlot. Definitely worth a visit.

Artesa was our first stop in Napa and it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful views from the terrace with the bay and even San Francisco in the distance. Great selection of wines for the tasting, the Spanish influences are obvious. We had Drake guiding us through the tasting, he was very informative and a good sense of humor.

I remember when they Built Artesa (was a champagne cellar then) this was part of my 10 mile run I live 4 1/2 miles from Artesa.............Artesa has hosted many 10 k runs and served wine after the run (Delicious wine) when people visit I always bring them to Artesa very friendly staff and kind of a museum in the back you will find it interesting...bring your bike and running shoes this is the best country in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worth the drive, lovely view, fantastic wines and personable service. Learned so much and enjoyed ever wine we tasted. Loved the variety from sparkling to cabs. Thank you Dean we can’t wait to come back! You shared so my h with us!

Part of a business function. Spectacular views. Great tour and tasting. Dinner was restaurant quality. They are known for their sparkling wines but their still wines were respectable. Service was excellent and lively. Highly recommend this place for a chic wine tasting experience with that special someone.

I wanted to visit this winery due to the views I read about... The views were good, however the wine tasting was very aloof and uninviting, the wines themselves were only 'fair'. We left before even finishing the round of tastings. It was very overpriced for what service was provided. Had much better experiences at similar sized and smaller wineries.

Our first time there on the way from SFO to Napa and really enjoyed the grounds. Owned by a family from Spain it is situated on a hillside with a great view. Modern design with a great view. We would suggest stopping if you are in the area.

This is a very modern looking but very friendly winery in Napa. Beautiful fountains and a building built in the hillside.

We were invited for a tasting by newly made friends and were very impressed with every aspect of this winery. Did not want to leave!
Well done!

Fabulous tasting yesterday with Ann. Concerned about visiting so soon after the fire, but the air is clear. Beautiful grounds, very welcoming... highly recommended!

Some friends of ours are members of Artesa so invited my wife and I to come along so they could pick up their quarterly allocation of wine. Even though we live in the Bay Area, we don't go to Napa much at all so this was a treat for us. Little did we know how nice of a treat it would be visiting Artesa. When we drove up, you could tell this was not the usual winery because the architecture and the surrounding grounds were quite modern and extremely well-kept. Being on a hill, the views of were outstanding and on the day we went it was very clear so we were able to see downtown San Francisco and the Bay Bridge from the winery.
If you are a member, there is a separate seating area where you can sit at a table and sample the wines. The wines we tasted were very good and in the end, I signed up to be a member because we were so impressed with both the winery and the quality of the wines we tasted.
The winery is a little off the beaten path but well worth a visit if nothing else for the views. But while you are there definitely try their wines. You may end up buying a few bottles or even become a member.

I was treated to a wine and cheese pairing from my girlfriends sister in law.
There was five of us, and we all had such a wonderful time touring the Artesa facility, learning about the variety of wines, climate grapes like to grow in, and then we had a wonderful wine and cheese pairing. Five different wines, two whites and three reds,
along with five different cheeses. It was wonderful.
Beautiful scenery, nice water fountain, sculptures, a patio area to enjoy wine, cheese and views.
They are doing some remodeling, not exactly sure what, so I am looking forward to returning to seeing the improvements.
There are a number of stairs to climb from the parking lot, and they do have handicap access.
If you are in the Napa area, check out Artesa Winery, and I hope you enjoy it as I did.

My wife and I stopped today looking for a view and a bottle of wine to enjoy.
We had neither. The winery was just about empty. Really empty. There were 6 cars in the lot. We were told by a very snooty (I’ll call him a doorman) that we didn’t have a reservation so no wine for us.
The whole scene reminded me of the old movie Trading Places. If you enjoy being around the tennis club type then this place is for you. I prefer a nicer group of people. There are lots of really nice wineries around. I would skip this one.

Fantastic winery and staff. Tito was our guide and he is an excellent host. He is very knowledgeable about the entire line of wine and interesting. He made us feel right at home and was extremely welcoming. I will highly recommend the wine and visiting Artesa.
Thanks Everyone,
Mike

We started our day drip here because i heard the views were amazing and they ARE! We did not to a tour or a tasting but it is well worth the stop! The best views i saw all day!

We came into Artesa with our 3 kids and were "welcomed" by Scott, the concierge, who for some reason, asked us multiple times at the door how many children we had before letting the 5 of us in. He then started following us around the winery rushing us to either settle down for a tasting or leave. 5 minutes into our visit, my husband who was walking around the winery with our 7 year old daughter was simply told by Scott to "get out". We have visited and tasted at many Napa wineries in the past (with children!) but nothing like this has ever happened to us before. Reading past reviews, I see that Scott has a long-standing reputation of being super rude to customers. What a disgrace to Artesa! having such and obnoxious and rude concierge with no customer service to welcome the guests. Will avoid this winery in the future and will warn all my friends and relatives to do the same!

Move em in - move em out... hurry up, next group needs to move through...
our group loved the setting and the views, the girls especially loved it cause it was in a movie :)
Like another person said, no charm.
Our server couldn’t sell us on his story, I like all the wines... lol
It was just rushed l, could have done better on the experience. Too bad.

My three star review my give you the wrong impression- Artesa is a very lovely winery. The view is breathtaking and for those visiting, it's really worth the stop. The wines are wonderful as well, and if you're a big wine fan, you will not be disappointed. The not so good, which is admittedly heavily based on the fact that I live in the bay area, is that is napa-level pretentious. Very "clean and modern" and pricey tastings. In fact, in order to sip on the patio, you'll need to shell out for a more expensive tasting or be a wine club member. I'm a much happier camper in a spot where I can, sit, relax and sip in a cozy and welcoming atmosphere.

Artesa is easily accessible from either Napa or Sonoma. As you arrive it looks like a military bunker on the top of a hill. The views are simply amazing from the top, reminded me of the rolling hills of Tuscany. You can see all the way to downtown San Francisco. The tasting room is very nice with lots of art and plenty of room if it gets busy. We chose to reserve the tour and reserve tasting experience. The tour was interesting but the tasting was the best experience. We tasted all of their single vineyards and then they continued to pour some of the guides favorites. Overall a good experience and recommended for a visit if you're in the area.

The place is absolutely beautiful, great views, lots of interesting art objects around, paintings, sculptures. The style is very modern, which I love. And the wines are great, at least the ones that we tried. Very professional, friendly, and fun waiter. The snacks, especially the green olives were delicious. We sit inside, because the terrace was full, but it was a great space, and the windows are big anyway. Love the place.

After touring several wineries the same day, we weren't interested in doing any more tastings. We drove up to Artesa to see the fountains and to enjoy the view. We were there on a cloudy and hazy day but the view was worth the drive up.

I decided to take a couple girlfriends to experience the Carneros wine region. We picked this winery based on the reviews and because it appeared we be able to enjoy great views . I can’t tell you how disappointed we three were. We were immediately approached to find out if we were club members. After explaining we were not we were ushered to an unimpressive area to be served wine by a woman who hardly gave us the time of day and failed to explain anything about the wine she was pouring.
After tasting unimpressive wines with lack of service we tried to access the terrace to enjoy the view. Again, we were immediately stopped at the door and refused entrance because we were not wine club members.
I have never been made to feel so unwelcome and segregated to “low class” than I did at this winery. Unless you’re already a club member I would avoid going here. And quite frankly I would never join a place that made visitors feel so unwelcome.
In a word: AVOID!

Enjoyable wine tasting with very knowledgeable staff. Recommend the Albariño and the Pinot Noir with some of their Spanish ham.

My youngest son moved to San Francisco recently and just had to take us here for a tasting. Who knew he would become such a connoisseur? The afternoon was very enjoyable. The venue was beautiful. Wine was delicious. The afternoon was enhanced by our guide Anne , who was pleasant, fun and so knowledgeable. Just enjoyed listening to my son and her talk wine. Had a wonderful afternoon. Would definitely do it again

Love Artesa, the winery tour is not much, but the facility, the views, the art, the wines - this is a great place to go while in Napa/Sonoma area

As pinot lovers, we are frequenters here and are partbof the wine club. Wine club is awesome, with free tastungs when we are in town and otherwise terrific wines. Favorites include the Block 91D pinot noir and the Hyde cabernet savignon. Not to be missed! Also, gorgeous views...best in Carneros.

The scenery at this location is stunning but there's a problem, you are only allowed to drink on the terrace if you pay for the most expensive tasting option! We went for the middle of three tasting options but were made to sit inside, which was akin to sitting in a motorway service station. Tasting wasn't cheap (45 bucks) and servings were very small. I'd give this one a miss if I were to come again.

BEAUTIFUL grounds as you drive up. Interesting architecture. Scott, I believe, greeted us as soon as we entered. We were directed to "Z" and Alyssa who was orienting with her. The 4 of us did a tour and tasting. Z is SO knowledgeable about the history of the family Codorniu, the grapes and the entire process that the time went quickly. My daughter is a member of the Artesa Wine club so we were fortunate to sample wines not available to nonmembers. Their sparkling Cavas are fabulous-there's a Rose as well. None of the wines are sweet so if you like later harvest wines(Moscatos etc) this would not be the one for you. We sampled over 8 different wines(or more, lost count). They give you great pours and are not pushy or upset if you say I don't care for that. They have water handy. No food avail though the deck areas were closed due to season and remodeling I think. There are rooms for group/private tastings. ASK for Z if you do this!! I ended up with 9 bottles shipped to my home-there was a shipping special when we were there so always ask for the possibility of any promotions or specials. Will always be my first stop and may consider splitting a membership for this Winery. Lots of perks with that!! Check the website

Artesa is tucked back in the countryside and sit on top of a hill over looking the end of the Napa River. The views are fantastic on a clear day. Set among surrounding vineyards. This is my favorite winery when in the Napa area.

If you sit outside for the tasting on their patio you will have a wonderful experience. If you sit inside you will only get half the experience. The cost of sitting on the patio is $55 /a person which includes a generous pour of 5 wines. Our server, Jesse was very knowledgeable of the area and the wines.
Built into the side of a hill, the views from the patio are breathtaking and should not be missed. This is our second time here and will be back.

The property is beautiful and well designed, very relaxing.l and gorgeous views. The service from Brady was fantastic and the wines were great as well! Brady was very knowledgeable and friendly and it made for a great experience. It was our first time in Napa and Artesa is a must visit! Truly enjoyed our time here :)

Loved the walk from the parking lot, you get to see great territorial views and check out that amazing architecture. We visited during the Pandemic and fire season, but felt safe, cared for and even pampered. We sat on the terrace, shaded with an umbrella, and enjoyed the views as far as we could see with the smoke haze. Our server Andrew was fantastic. We had ordered the tasting and Charcuterie plate and enjoyed both. All of our party made purchases of wine. Just being there was relaxing. I recommend asking to be seated on the outside terrace, unless you have a mobility impaired person with you...there's an interior courtyard available for seating as well, cooler and quieter. Otherwise, go outside. Excellent stop. I also recommend pairing this visit with Domaine Carneros...so close and such a great tasting experience, together. Easy.

The winery is beautiful and offers a great view of the Carneros region. The wines were average at best and the tasting is quite pricey. In addition, it was a beautiful day but they were only seating inside so it was loud and you couldn’t really appreciate the view from indoors.

Seriously we could not believe how good the slow cooked steak was. Everyone at the table loved it. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I had yummy wheat free options for dessert which was great too. The winery grounds are superb with spectacular views.

Venture a little bit further and a visit to Artesa in the Carneros area of Napa is a must see! We always include Artesa on our visits and you will not be disappointed. First - the wine - it's a great winery and their wines compete with the very best. They are well known for their excellent Chardonnay's and Pinot Noir's - reflective of their Carneros location. But every wine we've even had has been very good. Favorites are their Limited Release Chardonnay, Pinor Noirs and you must be quick to try their springtime release Pinot Noir Rose - they sell out! In addition to the wine - the Artesa Winery is an exceptional location and beautiful place to spend some time. Their hilltop location provides breathtaking views, their fountains and buildings are beautiful. We've had many a fun afternoon in the tasting room - its a great location. We've joined the wine club and enjoy all selections and customer service.

Beautiful modern winery . Visited last Saturday for a tapas and wine tasting. Beautiful presentation of small bites paired with their wines . I really enjoyed the pairings . Our guide Silvia was very knowledgeable. She went out of her way to explain all wines in detail and even went and brought us a few wines that were not part of the tasting . A very nice tour and tasting . I would recommend!!

Our concierge at the hotel suggested we go to Artesa, if nothing else for the views. It is worth the drive just to see the 360 views of one of NAPA's beautiful valleys....and it is free.

My girlfriend and I recently visited this winery and could not have been more impressed. The view alone is worth the trip. On our walk from the car to reception we were greeted by near 360 panoramic views of vineyards with birds of prey hovering above. The building itself is built in to the hillside to minimise the impact on the environment. The interior design is contemporary but the staff still manage to make it welcoming.
On the subject of the staff, we were hosted by Shelby for our tapas wine pairing. As a British couple who are complete novices to wine she quickly put us at ease and allowed us to overcome our fear of forced social situations! She was knowledgable without being intimidating and genuinely made us feel welcome. By the end of the tasting it was like going out for dinner with an old friend.
The food was beautiful, meticulously prepared (personally by Shelby) and thoughtfully paired with the wine.
We could not recommend this experience enough and if Shelby's boss reads this then we think she should get a raise!
Dominic and Carly (UK)

We came here as part of a bigger group of conference attendees. The views are typical of a vineyard and there was a beautiful sunset that night. Very modern architecture and the fountains leading up to the entryway are beautiful. Wines were OK. This winery was in the movie "Wine Country".

We went for the wine and chocolate pairing (as two in our group were vegetarians) after making reservations. Thanks to the nascar race that day we were delayed by an hour. Thankfully they waited for us to show up and the trip was worth the drive from SF. This little gem is located on top of a small hill, which gives you such a beautiful view from the balcony and stairs. We were welcomed with lovely sparkling wine and had a separate room with chocolates, fruits and wine laid out for us. The host was very courteous and patient while he answered our questions politely. After the tasting we were allowed to move around the terrace and the bar area and catch the view breath taking view from the balcony.

We popped in here on our way to Yosemite. It was our only Napa Valley winery experience so I can’t compare it to any other wineries in the area. It was the winery from the film “Wine Country” which was a nice surprise. The winery itself is very modern but I have to say the experience was a little disappointing. The tasting menu- see in photos was really expensive- in Australia tastings are generally free, with customers usually then buying wine to take away or perhaps a glass or bottle to consume on site - so we were a little taken aback that it was $35 per person for 5 small tastes. The same glass was used for all the wines - red and white which I would have thought was a no no. We were also unable to order wine by the glass which seemed odd since we were in a winery and the bottles for sale were unable to be opened and drunk at the winery so the only option was the tasting menu. Also there was a VIP area-no non members allowed in and a private area in the same room for booked tastings. Don’t make the mistake I made of asking for water from the wrong station- I was rudely told to request it from the other counter. We also ordered a cheese platter-this was the complete opposite of the usual American experience of too much food - it was measly and expensive. For all our travels through the USA this was the only poor customer service we encountered. As I said this was our only experience so can’t compare it but we were very disappointed.

We visit Artesa every few months, the view is always different. On a super clear day you can see San Francisco. But it's always pretty if you can't.
The wines are really straightforward, exactly what you think they should be.
They offer many tasting options, check their website to see what's available and if reservations are necessary.

Wines were good. We enjoyed our tasting. Beautiful place to walk around and enjoy the beauty of Napa!

It was quite crowded on a Saturday afternoon as would be expected, but had a fun vibe. My wife and I did the standup tasting followed by a couple glasses and a charcuterie and cheese plate at a table in the courtyard. Modern building, with great views, solid wine, great visit.

Wowza! This was the most amazingly stunning and beautiful stop. First, the building was built on the top of a hill, but also into the hill, so there were gorgeous views from and of what looked like an ultramodern hobbit hole.
The views over the valley were breathtaking and so was the art and the fountains. Fodor’s said: “From a distance the modern, minimalist architecture of Artesa blends harmoniously with the surrounding Carneros landscape, but up close its pool, fountains, and the large outdoor sculptures by resident artist Gordon Huether of Napa make a vivid impression.” We were blown away.
This is a great place to wander and simply appreciate the beauty of the area.

The people who work at Artesa made our experience memorable. Scott was so nice to share some history with us and Andrew went out of his way to give us an A+++ wine tasting experience. Can't wait til my wines come!

This place is cool. Hidden under moss and turf like a Bunker. The property and building are amazing. The wine is Great and the staff was accommodating and welcoming. Must see when in Napa

The view is breathtaking and the wines are extraordinary. I seldom like all the wines offered during a tasting. Artesa was much different, each wine showcased was superb. Our hostess and I regret I cannot remember her name was engaging and very knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed our time, so much so we are now wine club members and cannot wait for our first shipment!! Truly a unique experience.

As you pull into Artesa and start to climb, you realize the beauty of the sweeping hills. Walk up the stairs to the entrance and the fountains and hills make for some wonderful photos. The winery is very modern. As you come into the winery, we were greeted with the first tasting of sparkling wine. After that, we moved inside where we tasted 3 more wines. The wine was very good. Many of us bought several bottles. I would recommend coming here for sure.

We visited Artesa for tasting and had the Galatea flight with tapas - would highly recommend. Nice variety of wines ranging from bubbly through to chardonnay and onto bold reds. The reds were our favourite. The tapas was absolutely delicious.
The views from the tasting area are wonderful, even as far as downtown San Francisco! Friendly, relaxed staff too.

A group of 7 us made a reservation for the chees and wine tasting. Based on a prior visit by other friends who had a thorough and enjoyable visit, I was a little disappointed by my visit. For $60 tasting, we were essentially seated, talked to for about 5 min or less and that's it. There was no engagement by the server. Maybe they were busy, but for $60/person, it was a letdown. The wine was outstanding, but the experience was sadly not. Not sure I'd go back.

After one of our scheduled tours cancelled due to lack of interest, we found ourselves with an extra free day on our Napa trip. Many years ago, I went on a day trip from San Francisco to Codorniu Napa (now Artesa). I remembered how beautiful the view was, and I really wanted to show it to my wife, who couldn't make that trip. The view and grounds are even more amazing than I recalled. Built into the top of a hill in the Los Carneros region, Artesa commands an amazing view of the surrounding vineyards, and even down to the bay. The winery is built into the hill, and the interior looks like an art gallery. We elected to do our tasting at the foyer bar (there's a separate tasting area for members). But when I mentioned my prior visit in 1996, we were offered several extra tastings of the sparkling wines (still bottled under the Codorniu Napa name). In fact, we received such good service at the foyer bar, we decided to purchase several additional bottles, even though we weren't planning on any more wine purchases. And our server was very helpful in arranging shipping as well. (They followed up with me by email, just to make sure everything went through). While we would have gone just for the views, our service at Artesa really made the stop special

Artesa was my wife's and my favorite winery of our 4 day tour of Napa. The view, setting and scenery are otherworldly and truly unique. We would recommend upgrading to the next level of tasting where you can go into the bar area and sit down. Much more relaxed and enjoyable than the more crowded scene that was going on for the basic tasting. The wine stewards were super nice, knowledgeable and personable. The wine is excellent.

Great service, wine, and amazing view. They take in walk-ins but I would recommend making a reservation before hand if you wish to sit outside in the sun

Did a wine tasting and went for the views/ design of the place. The architecture is awesome and views are awesome but the wines were mediocre. There was 1 wine I liked out of the tasting. Great place to bring tourists tho.

We had reservation for our wine tasting and were immediately seated. The views were amazing and the outside area was beautiful. This was our last winery we visited in the two days we spent in the area. The wine was good. We were constantly told that "our wine is so much better than all those other wineries"--we disagreed on that point but everyone has different taste. The tastings were way overpriced for the amount that you get. It was by far the most expensive winery we visited. It was a nice place but clearly caters to the "beautiful people." Don't think we will visit again. If you visit, be prepared to pay a lot of money.

The Elm House Inn people directed us to Artesa. We had little time to view wineries and it was raining heavily. We had a wonderful experience. The landscape is charming and the winery very interesting - they were doing the wine tasting in the cellar because of renovations - but it made everything quaint, in spite of the cold. The staff at reception and serving us were great - young people, really happy and enjoying their tasks. We loved the visit and expect that it must be stunning in summer and spring. We´d like to return!

Talked into taking tour. What a waste of money. Guide was nervous, quick, and lacking in knowledge and confidence (always apologizing and asking if he is doing ok!). You really don't get close to the processes; you just really overlook them from a vantage point. At the end, you stand around and hurried through a wine 🍷 tasting of 4 gulps of wine.

I have travelled around the world and this was the WORST service ever! The concierge was rude and would not seat our party despite the fact that the winery was empty. Now I know why! We had 10 people in our party and they only seat parties of 4 and would NOT even try to accommodate us in any way. With the snooty attitude of the blonde at the desk and a quick look around at the empty winery, we left in disgust. It saved us at least $600 in wine tasting and gratuity not to mention the wine we were prepared to purchase. The views are amazing, but there are many other wineries that have amazing wines and a welcoming staff. I even drink Artesa wine, but not any more. Way to go! So stop for the view, take some pictures and head to Domaine Carneros, Duck Horn, Del Dotto, Belle to name a few for a friendly and quality wine tasting!

No reservations needed. Close to Napa. Beautiful setting and views with delicious wines. Owned by Spaniards with some wonderful Spanish varietals. Don't need anything else to make for a memorable afternoon in Napa!

Wow; this has the most stunning 360* views and you can see San Francisco on, what was for us, a beautiful sunny day. We did the short tour which was interesting, but the highlight was sitting on the terrace tasting a collection of lovely wines. If staying in Napa take an Uber - it'll only take 15 minutes. I thoroughly recommend a visit here.

Went to check out Artesa on 11/17. We had a reservation that we booked on Tock a few days in advance, as soon as we got there we were treated great! Our tasting started 1pm, and we were able to sit outside to enjoy the pretty views. The tasting was filled with a bunch of different styles. We purchased a bottle of the Rose' !

We had the most amazing experience at Artesa! We had scheduled an early tasing on the terrace at 10:00am and it was perfect! The atmosphere was so calm at that time and it was a beautiful start to the day! The server grew up in Nappa and he was so great! Wine was amazing and view spectacular!

such a wonderful view. outstanding wines. superb service. such a wonderful experience. a definite must do

There are so many better wineries, you could skip this one and not feel like you missed much. Too commercial, too snobby, too busy to look at you when pouring and uninterested staff who are either uneducated or unwilling to discuss their wine. Too bad.

A friend (wine club member) set us up with a tasting while we were in Napa. The service was nice and wine was good. They have a modern art museum feel to the winery.

Artesa is the Catalan word for handcrafted and when you look around this winery and taste their wines, the word handcraft pops into your mind, even the wine labels are very artistic. From the first time you walk up the steps to the winery and are faced with a beautiful sculpture with magnificent 360 degree views over the valley, you know this place is special. Artesa is owned by a Spanish winemaking family, Cordorniu, and it is wonderful how they are now producing here some wines using the albarino and tempranillo grapes (mainly dominate in Spain), and these wines are good. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon and the place had a definite buzz about it (not from the wine)! Drake, our host, was informative and due to our group having different palates he ended up giving us different wines to suit our palates which was really appreciated. Another winery worth a visit.

A quick drive from downtown Napa, Artesa has some of the nicest views of Napa Valley we saw on our trip. Our tour guide Freddie was energetic and kept things lively, and the outdoor tasting area is perfect for a sunny day.

We booked a chocolate tasting and when we arrived, we were informed (after asking) that it wasn’t available. The wine was okay-Nothing impressive and definitely not worth the $120.00 we paid for the experience. The view was beautiful and that was its only redeeming quality. Our host was young, inexperienced and not knowledgeable about wine. From what we could hear, all the hosts were scripted and shallow as it pertains to the wine experience.

We arrived without a reservation. They were not packed. They asked how many in our party. We said we could do either four in each group of 8 total. "Well, if you have 8 we cannot have you." What if we have four? we asked. "But I know that you have 8." Then a group of four walk up and he admits them without a reservation.A few min. go by and another group of four walk up without a reservation and he admits them. We watch this and have a conversation with the young man once again. He calls the powers that be and they say we can come up only if we do their most expensive tasting. By that time we had , had enough. It is not worth a stop at a place that is that exclusive.

This place is all about the view, the sculptures, and the water fountains. My husband and I did the tapas and wine tasting, we sat inside near the windows with a nice view. The food was better than I expected, but the wine wasn't particularly memorable. It's really about the atmosphere. The girl who served us was very pleasant as well. Still 100% worth going for the view and the luxurious experience!

The landscape and view from this winery is beautiful and worth the drive just to breathe in the scenery.
However, Scott, the man who was standing by the door was rude and completely turned us off this winery. He did not greet us but summoned us with his finger to step away from the door and stand by him. When we were standing by his podium, he told us we couldn't go in. Dead stop, no smile. We asked why there were all these people inside expecting him to say it was closed for a private event but he did not say this. He finally said some of the tasting rooms were closed for renovations and we could only go in if we paid for a tasting, otherwise he would "lock the door" on us. He could have said all this nicer but he did not. We went in since we drove out here specifically to experience this winery but his behavior towards us left such a sour taste in our mouth that we left, didn't want to give this company any of our money.

We had reservations for eight for over a month. Upon our arrival, we were graciously yet quickly escorted to an outside cold patio with no seats or heat. While our server Kevin was gracious and tried to seat us elsewhere, we were told no. We were the only group outside. Poor service. Seriously go elsewhere. Customer NO Service. Worst winery experience in the fifteen wineries we visited.

We did the Tinto tasting and really enjoyed the wine, particularly the Tradicio. The charcuterie board was a bit small but good. The winery is modern and beautiful.
We didn’t have a reservation so we were seated outside of the bar area even though there were tables available the entire time we were there, so we were a bit disappointed.

Artesa was one of three wineries we visited in the area. We had a wine pairing reservation for 12. They were not prepared, organized, or ready for us in any way and gave us very little attention. In addition to being close to double the cost of the two other places, the wine we were served was low quality. The host might have figured that out if any attention was paid to us. I’ve been to dozens of these across the country, this was the worst. Gave a point for location and scenery- still not worth a visit

This Vineyard was Ahhhhhmazing!!! The views were gorgeous. Highly recommend the single tasting package. Alvaro was our guided wine sommelier. He was awesome!!! I ended up becoming a wine member because the wines were delicious!!

This place has just average wines especially for the Napa Valley region. There are a lot of wineries to visit.

We drove up to Artesa early in the morning and although we love great wine .. 9:30 AM is a little early to begin tasting. The winery is up on a vista that is gorgeous and the landscaping is well done. The winery is beautiful and staff very friendly and helpful. We ran out of time to return to do a tasting but we certainly will on our next visit.

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT VISIT
It saddens me to be a local and speak on my experience but it was that bad. To start off im a local and own a business in town myself. Upon arriving i was excited to bring friends from out of town to experiece artesa after not being to the winery in 10 years. The grounds when walking up were very over grown and dead and had weeds everywhere. you can tell they were going with the live wall look but nothing looked to be well kept. Once we sat down we noticed the decor was not updated as well. Sad to report we thought it looked all from ikea and was in bad shape as well. We opted for the $100 tasting looking to be elevated from the other wines. It came with a cheese board that we were so excited for. It arrived before the wine and we looked down and started laughing. It looked like it was from a hospital! Cut up grapes and tomatoes! Never seen anything like this in the valley. The service was so slow with long waits in between wine. For $100 there are far too many amazing experiences to check out even near by. Migration is near by and i can promise a better experience. It is very sad to report on this and i hope they take my feedback to heart and clean up the place.

After 10 minutes of no one speaking to us we left. People were attempting to enjoy this place but there was absolutely no service , no hostess, no interest in answering questions. Pretentious millennial typical wine bar and nothing else.

We always visit this winery when we are in Napa , up high overlooking the valley . Always attentive staff and a relaxing atmosphere .

We stopped with friends in hopes to enjoy a glass of wine and maybe somthing to munch on. All the options seemed terribly complicated - took a while to find someo who managed to understand our simple request. Well $88 later for 3 glasses of wine (nothing special) and a plate of charcuterie (the latter took forever) we had to beg to sit outside (apparently reserved for members of some sort). On the bright side the views were absolutely stunning!

Artesa is one of the most beautiful and distinguished properties in Napa, sitting on and cut into a hill with sweeping views. The entire complex is covered with sod, and with the outdoor steps and fountains looks quite New Age.
Our group of about 25 got a real, extended tour of the winemaking process in the underground chambers. Our guide Moises did a good job of expaining the winery's history (it is the US property of the Codorniu family of Spain, makers of mass-market sparkling wine).
After the tour, we started the winetasting, which spanned a number of different wines produced by this large estate. Not all of what we tried was good, but there were some excellent, or at least excellent-value, wines among the offerings.
When we asked to add some specific wines that had not been on the original list for our group, without hesitation Moises went and added them at no extra charge.
The winetasting areas are spacious and very modern (again, New Age) in feel.
I highly recommend Artesa for a comprehensive winery and winetasting experience. Amng the 4 winery tours our group had in Napa, this was for me the best overall.

The tasting experience has improved since I was here in 2015. There is now an outdoor patio (“tasting on the terrace”) with great views. I tried 6 wines, including the complimentary Grand Reserve Brut that I was served in the reception area. I liked many of the wines. The Cabernet Sauvignons were at least 4 years old, so drinking them was a pleasant experience. My host Jesse was friendly and knowledgeable.

Very nice vineyard. I do not understand much of wine so I cannot rate them but the facilities are very nice and the landscape unbeatable (in a Hill overseeing the South of Napa and with waterfalls)

Amazing views from the patio. Great wines and good service. We will be back on our next visit to Napa.

The Best thing about this place is the views. It's on top of the hill from which you can see the water, the mountains, and rolling hills with vineyards. If they had rooms here I buy a place and stay here forever.
I thought that domain Carneros had some great views before I came here now this is the top of the list.

Anne was amazing, we sat outside on the patio and the sites were amazing. But I said it once and I’ll say it again, Anne was amazing, she made it informative and special.

My takeaway from my recent trip to Napa is that wine tasting is fun, and wine tasting with food pairings is better!!!
The buildings were unexpectedly modern and bright, and were a nice contrast to some of the other wineries we visited.
The food and wines were beautiful. The server was knowledgeable and gave us time to drink, eat and discuss what we thought about each wine and pairing. It was perfect. I would highly recommend it.

A variety of wines from sparkling wine to a few nice cans. Nice people. Over the top views. Very pretty. Very busy place, each time I have been there.

Artesa Winery has incredible views! If you have time, take your wine with some small bites out to the deck and enjoy it. The tour is incredibly interesting with a magical story behind it's building. (I won't spoil it for you :-) The winery is in the Carneros Appellation and their Chardonnay is unique and not oaky. Their Pinot Noir is a favorite. The staff is knowledgeable and very welcoming to guests.

My two girlfriends and I loved it here! Gorgeous setting and excellent wines. We thoroughly enjoyed our tasting out on the patio, and our wine educator Katherine. She was very friendly, attentive, and knowledgable about the wines. And seriously, the views from the tasting room/patio are amazing. We enjoyed our time here immensely, and can't wait to drink the case of wine we had shipped home!

If you have the time to make your way to Artesa, I encourage you to do so. We didn't have time for a tour the day we visited, but the concierge was still very inviting and full of information. We parked over on the side and took the elevator up to the tasting room. The concierge made sure we took a walk out the main door to see the magnificent view. STUNNING! She also cries at Hallmark commercials, but my wife was in tears at the beautiful view. I tasted a couple of their wines at the inside bar and bought a bottle to bring to my sister the next day. If we're in the area again, we'll be sure to make time for a tour and full tasting.

We were not sure what to expect since we had come from another winery and the experience there was terrible. This was very nice. Two couples. We all had the classic wine sampler tasting. Our server was very accomodating. I am personally not much of a wine guy but the others in our group our. The server knew just what to ask me to find something that might fit my palette. He was very successful. We very much enjoyed ourselves. Highly recommended

Loved the wine there, especially their cab, however service was mediocre; not rude but not nice - no explanation of the wine. Beautiful views though, must go for pics as well.

My wife and I took my son and girlfriend to visit our favorite winery. As wine club members for six years and visitors for ten years we had never actually taken the tour until now. Our guide Shelby was excellent and very knowledgeable. They have remodeled the tasting area to great effect. We shall have to return more often. My son was so taken by the excellent tastings that he too joined to have wine shipped to his San Diego home.
The wines are very good and provide a wide range of choices to taste. We enjoyed the Chardonnay, Pinot, and meritage the most. But everyone will have their own favorites!

Wow, this place is stunning with their new tasting rooms, infiniti pools, and beautiful grounds. You can handle large crowds inside or outside for a great meal, wine tasting, etc. Worth a visit while in Napa Valley, CA.

Did a vino con queso tasting the other day with Freddy. The cheese paired beautifully with the wines. The grounds will take your breath away! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable. A 10 all around!!!

Freddie who did the tasting was friendly & informative. The tasting room upstairs was under renovation and did the tasting inside the cellar. We enjoyed the wines.

I'd read about an art exhibit on the tour, but that's no longer part of the experience... and the tour itself was less informative than others. The tasting at the end was cramped and standing room only (in the least attractive part of the winery). The winery itself is pretty, but reservations are required for the nicer tasting room... and the tour does not get you in. I planned for this and tried to get two separate reservations, which was impossible via cellar pass. In email communications, a miscommunication occurred and the staff could not accommodate a day of request for a pixtos tasting, despite the miscommunication. No effort was made to provide alternatives (like wine without food). The general vibe was fairly trendy, unhelpful and self-important. In the end, we much preferred our experience at Etude.

This is a great place for views, not my favorite sport though. If you're driving though the back hills of Carneros I do recommend the stop in. Plus in most free guide books they offer a 2 for 1 deal grab that and its really worth it.

We are not Napa regulars by a long shot, but whenever we have the opportunity to visit, we come here. Though modern architecture and decor is usually not my thing, this is absolutely perfect. The setting and view are tremendous, and the wine is really, really good. I usually prefer the smaller wineries that are less crowded, but this is worth the trip. We last visited on a Wednesday afternoon pretty close to closing time, and we walked right in and got attentive service, even though they were starting to set up for a special event that evening. We love this place.

We spent three days in Sonoma and visited a dozen wineries, on our way back to San Francisco we decided to stop at Artesa. So glad we did! Not only is it beautiful and has amazing views but their wines were the best we tasted! Our host Shelby made our visit memorable by educating us about the history of the wine, how it is produced and showcasing some delicious wines.
Definitely a must stop while in Napa!

We do our fair share of wine tasting but I have to admit we are not that much into the wine. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the experience. Our friends really liked the red wines here at Artesa. We love the ambiance of this winery with the outdoor seating area overlooking a valley. The architecture is amazing and you are first greeted by nice water features in front. We try to introduce friends to this winery because of the overall design

Artesa is an amazing place with excellent wines and great staff. I have been a member here for 10 years, and I always recommend the winery when asked. There are many great wines here, but one of my all time favorites is the Tempranillo. it is the perfect representation of Artesa's Spanish heritage.
Artesa has a wonderful selection of wines, from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay to some incredible blends and Cabernets. There is something for every taste and budget. it is a wonderful view into the Carneros region. The single vineyard wines, including Pinot, Chardonnay, and Cabernet are sourced from both estate grown grapes as well as many incredible vineyards throughout Napa and Sonoma.

Great view. Wine is below average for California and this region. I would not recommend tasting here. We chose separate tastings so we had 10-12 different wines. We only enjoyed the Albariño. The pinot noirs were ok. Champagne was below average. Chardonnay tasted like American oak, but when asked it was explained as french oak, stainless or sometimes concrete depending on the year. This didnt make any sense. We did not finish the Chardonnay.

We were visiting for our 10th Anniversary! I accidentally made our reservation for the wrong date, and they were happy to have us anyways. They accommodated us for a tasting and were so informative. We had the best time, and they were so accommodating and friendly.

This was our fourth visit to Artesa since 2005. The first two times we went were mainly for the views of the valley from their hilltop location. But, I was not overly impressed with the wines. The third time (2015 ish) it seemed to me the wines (especially the Cab and red blends) had improved. On our most recent visit (2021) we were very impressed with their diverse Chardonnay, Cabs, and Cab/Tempernillo blends, and became members.
Artesa has a Spanish heritage which distinguishes itself from most of the others in the valley. The wines offered during the tasting included both the traditional Bordeaux blends and blends with Spanish varietals, all were very tasty and complex.
The tasting experience was not as personal as some other wineries — perhaps a bit too commercial for my taste. For instance, the server does not bring the bottle to the table, but rather brings glasses already pored from the bar. You may need to prompt the server to tell you about the wines. The tasting room is bright and contemporary, which provides a more casual experience than say one that resembles a library or living room. However, on a nice day you can sit on the terrace and enjoy the spectacular valley views.
Overall, we enjoyed our most recent visits and highly recommend Artesa for both their delicious wines and spectacular views from the top of the hill.

We belong to quite a few wine clubs and this is one of our favorite destinations. The winery and the location are absolutely beautiful. We have been there several times and done all the tours (which are excellent) and couple of food pairings as well. On our last visit we had two friends with us who had never visited the winery before, and of all the wineries we visited over a 3 day period, this was their favorite location for the view. They have a lovely patio you can enjoy your tasting on where the views are beautiful. The staff is very attentive and brought our wine out to us on the patio from the tasting room instead of making us go back and forth for the next pour. It made for a great, relaxing and fun visit. We are wine club members there and they surprised us with a complimentary charcuterie tray to enjoy with our wines. The wine, by the way, are also great. (If you like champagne, try one of the Codornius!) The tasting rooms are beautiful and modern. You should not miss this winery on any trip to Napa or Sonoma!

Spectacular views, good wine pretty much covers it. Very little food, just snacks chips and other bags of stuff. Go.....

Perfect way to describe Artesa: picturesque. I made a reservation for 3 and I'm glad I did because it was pretty packed. This was one of our 4th stops and this was definitely one of my favorite views from the outside. The inside seemed medicore to me. There wasn't anything too fascinating about about the indoor that caught my eye. Now the outside, that's a different story. The view is absoutely stunning. You have to take pictures outside. It's a definite must!
We sat inside and we bought a couple glasses and it was tasteful. The service was fairly quick because you order like you would if you are going to the bar. Will definitely make another trip out. When in Nap, you Artesa. Love!

Very disappointed with our expericne here. After waiting to be greeted by the hostess who was missing in action for a full 20 minutes we were then shown to a high table where were promptly ignored again. The restaurant was full with very few servers who all looked unhappy to be there so decided to leave and spend our money elsewhere. It's a shame because the vinyard is spectacular but doesn't delvier beyond the drama of its location and architecture. This is just a business for ARTESA it has no heart or soul. Visit for the view and then go elsewhere for the wine.

This place is flashy and was really busy. I was unimpressed by the wine--just not our thing overall.

Unlike some of the more recent reviews, our experience was amazing. We visited the Winery as the result of a recommendation, and were not disappointed in the least. Upon arrival we were greeted cordially by the Concierge that explained all of the options available to us. We wanted to enjoy something light to eat, so we were escorted personally to the tasting room. We did not intend to join their wine club, but after tasting all of their wines we were sold. The architecture of the property is amazing.....walking up the double staircase separated by a cascading water feature.....when you reach the top there are two reflecting pools. As mentioned by another reviewer, the views are to die for......I would definitely recommend a visit.......we thoroughly enjoyed the experience and our first shipment of wine arrived yesterday! Cheers!

Last year we had a wonderful time at Artesa Winery, but we happened to be there this January when it was pouring outside and chilly inside because the upstairs wasn't open yet! We were in the lower level where they were serving temporarily. The staff was very friendly and helpful even though it was very cold down there. We'll definitely be back there when we visit Napa next year.

We stopped as a group to taste some wine. I’ll start by stating we were a large group and we did not have reservations. With that said, we didn’t feel the love. It was apparent that they were unhappy with our unannounced visit on a slow Monday. Our group split up and there was a nice guy who took care of some of our group outside. The woman who tried to accommodate us seemed to be out of her element. Overall it was not a fun experience.
Still confused as to why any business would treat customers so poorly.
We went to another winery, also unannounced, and had a great time. We actually purchased wine from this winery.
I would not waste your time with so many other places to visit.

The location and views are gorgeous. But our terrace tasting was pricey and some of the wines disappointing. I didn't understand why Artesa's more characteristic (and indeed Spanish) wines (such as Albariño and Tempranillo) did not appear on the 5 wine flight tasting. Our host was peremptory and rather unengaging. We went straight from there to Darioush and had a much warmer, engaging experience with better wines in fact.

I found this winery by googling “winery in Napa with great views”, and boy this did not disappoint. When I realized this was a short drive from another winery that was recommended to me, I took it as a sign that we needed to come here. Reservations are definitely recommended. From the minute you walk up, the views leave you speechless. The pictures on their website don’t even do it justice. Wine was great. The tasting room inside is open, airy, and modern. I would come back again and again!

Amazing views but would be better enjoyed in good weather when you can sit and taste the wines outdoors.

By all means visit, walk around, but don't bother with a wine tasting.
The views are really nice, but the wine tasting is way overpriced at $65 for 5 (small) tastes. By comparison other top wineries (Groth, Cakebread, Krug, ZD as examples) charge $50 (any many are less). Artesa doesn't even pour their top wines for that price; you get their mid-tier. And the wines are average at best (I realize this is subjective).
By the way the Chardonnay and Pinot grapes are from the winery but others are purchased from wherever (sonoma or further afield)..
It is likely the person pouring your wine is a temp, part time worker, rather than someone employed by the winery.
(Oh, also don't be misled that there is any food with the tasting. It might seem that way based on how the web site is written but when you get to the ordering page you have to be careful and pick one of the even more expensive offerings).
Overall Artesa comes across as a corporate place, run by marketing people, who are selling a view rather than wine. Come for the view, but then go away and do your tastings.

Canceled our paid reservation a few days before our date without explanation and really left us in a bind. Be sure to have a back-up plan!

We came here solely because we watched Wine Country. While the property is beautiful, the fountains were off, there was no outside set up, and the inner courtyard where we sat wasn't very impressive. I guess I expected it to look as it did in the movie. The lady who waited on us was very nice, but service was a little slow since they brought out one wine at a time for the flights.
The wines were good though, and we bought a few bottles to bring home. Glad we visited, but we don't need to come back.

Artesa winery has it all! Great views, interesting architecture, history, AMAZING wines and a wonderful staff.
We love sitting on the terrace and tasting the wines as we enjoy the view.
We love it so much we became members

Stunning location, great wine, fascinating tour, generous pours. Fantastic experience. Brady, who hosted tour, was a little full of himself and couldn’t answer any of our questions, but that’s the only complaint.

I love bringing out-of-town visitors to this little gem of a winery - the views are spectacular, as are the fountains outside.
The wines are good, not great, and the tasting fee is a little high (Welcome to the Napa Valley) but the staff are friendly and know their stuff.

Wanted to take a moment to review this winery with the most amazing view and unique grounds I've ever seen for a winery. Very beautiful location and building, feels kind of like an artsy museum with a heck of a view. We had met a very nice woman who works there named Zian prior to our visit and she suggested we stop in. Her knowledge of wine (and food paring suggestions) were spot-on and she was very friendly and one of the kindest people we met on our trip to Napa/Sonoma. I'm sure we will remember her for years to come and appreciate her attentiveness and professionalism. We liked it so much that we wanted to go back again, but just couldn't find the time to do so (much to do in Napa!). Thanks again Zian.
Beautiful Grounds
This one is hard to rate. It is beautiful but lacks charm. The wine was not bad but have had better. For the experience and views I would go here but mix in some other experiences. If you are all about picturesque this is the place to go.
