Interesting tour and great wine tasting! We also enjoyed walking around the grounds and eating in the buffet style restaurant.

A bit pricey for essentially a 30minute tour of the mansion and a 5 minute wine tasting. The guided tour does not include the outside grounds. Wine tasting was not very informative-did not discuss where or how the wines are made wasn’t even sure if they were made on the premises? Very rushed wine tasting small samples of 4 wines probably spent 5 minutes. Grounds are pretty. Nice to get away from downtown.

We had a great tour of the mansion. Our guide was very thorough and we learned a lot. The complimentary wine tasting was yummy as well.

Tour house interesting but we came for the wine tasting and that was 2.5 minutes at a bar with especially sweet wines served in the same glass. Don't smell too hard on the wine because you'll smell it. So little in the glass.

So many interesting stories and beautiful ornate features to look at in the mansion. Very knowledgeable and friendly tour guide, but spoke fast and appeared somewhat anxious. Wine tasting was a bit rushed as well.

We enjoyed the mansion tour and wine tasting! The grounds were lovely to walk around. Beautiful flowers, fall decorations and trees. We also enjoyed the gift shop and Bonnie’s Bar.

We thoroughly enjoyed the mansion tour, wine tasting and grounds at Belle Meade. Our mansion guide was very knowledgeable and so willing to answer questions and very patient with those of us who wanted to linger in various areas of the mansion. The spaces were beautifully maintained and lent themselves to being fully immersed in the story of Belle Meade and her residents over the years. The wine tasting was varied and had interesting flavors for all tastes. The grounds are beautiful and have wonderful placards telling about the different buildings on site. Definitely worth a visit!!

The mansion tour was very informative. The mansion is beautiful. The docent was knowledgeable. As far as the wine tasting, that was not enjoyable at all. Families were on the tour. The servers who were telling us about the wine let the children take up spaces at the bar. We were told to stand in the back. He had to holler to explain the different wines because we were standing in a small gift shop where people were buying chocolates and other items. If you go they have pre selected wines they will serve. They use the same glass for each wine so if you do not enjoy a wine, better drink up because they will stand there and wait for you to finish before the next tasting. The wine tasting experience as a whole was just disappointing and would not recommend.

The Journey to Jubilee tour is an informative guided tour through the eyes of the slaves living in the plantation. It gives you the stories of the enslaved people. Our tour guide, Tom was excellent. He provided documented information and “undocumented” stories about the enslaved people. Walking through the grounds gave a visual of how they lived. During the tour Tom gave room for questions and discussion. Being a person of color I felt that some of the tour could show a bit more of what the enslaved people had to endure. We felt that the cabin they lived in was “too nice” and doesn’t show the true conditions. Tom provided great empathy during his guided tour. If you have never toured a plantation or experienced what slaves went through then this tour will give a “softer” understanding.

very informative, a peek into the past of the new area where I moved. The grounds are spectacular and well maintained. perfect day all around.

Belle Meade is a beautiful property and the tour guide did a fantastic job sharing the stories of the Harding Jackson family. To top it off the Wine, bourbon and food pairing was exquisitely crafted and our group has very high expectations. It is a must, Maddie has wonderful energy and knowledge to share!

Our guide was wonderful, the history fascinating and the grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed our lunch and delightful entertainment on the patio. The wine was great as well.

The mansion was a great historical site. The grounds were nice to walk. There was a winery and bourban bar that had great products and friendly service.

The house and grounds were beautiful but the tour was so rushed and I feel like I walked away with questions. I was so excited for this but kind of disappointed. The wine tasting afterwards was rushed and not great.

Very informative tour with a lot to see. The tour guide was knowledgeable, interesting and passionate. Thoroughly enjoyable!

We spent the day at Belle Meade with virtually no prior knowledge of the rich and storied history that surrounds this magnificent property. The mansion tour guide was great as well as the self guided tour of the grounds. We capped off our day with a late lunch at Meat and Three. Highly recommend this tour.

My husband and I took the mansion tour with complimentary wine tasting. We really enjoyed this tour. Our guide was great and very informative. The family history is very interesting. We skipped the wine tasting because we don’t like wine.

While in Nashville we toured the Belle Meade Mansion and grounds, and had a wine tasting. Our tour guide was excellent. We loved seeing the house and learning the stories of the families that lived there. We didn’t know anything about the place going in, but came out with a wealth of knowledge. Was especially amazed to learn that 11 of 13 Triple Crown Winners can trace their lineage back to a horse from there, Bonnie Scotland The grounds are beautiful as well, and as an added bonus, their gift shop is a “ must stop,” as I picked up a few unique Christmas gifts., Would recommend this as a stop when visiting !

Very informative and very interesting history behind the home. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous and the wine tasting was a perfect end to the tour. Highly recommend.

Great tour guide to share such a rich history of the estate. Fascinating to learn about the beautiful grounds and house - will go again!

The guide was excellent and the stories told were illuminating. The wine-tasting was fun, and there was a lot to see throughout the estate.

Very beautiful grounds. The tour guide was very good and knowledgeable. Bathrooms were very nice and plentiful. Very affordable

Good tour lots of local info. Interesting venue guide makes the visit.
Would recommend. Warm inside the house. Where shorts.

This is a beautiful spot in Nashville. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the slave history at Belle Meade and shared the good and the bad. I gave it a 4 and not a 5 because I wish it had been a longer tour in walking the grounds.
We ate lunch and sat under the covered patio relaxing afterwards and it was wonderful.

House tour was awesome Dallas was great the house and grounds were beautiful did not participate in wine tasting also enjoyed the beautiful gift shop

Such a beautiful house with an interesting history! The garden patio with bar and live musics was wonderful, a great place to cool off!

This was a wonderful experience! There is so much to do on property. My husband and I spent a few hours exploring the property, enjoying cocktails on the porch and listening to music. Definitely a must do! House tour was wonderful.

We were there on a quiet week day in the winter, it's a beautiful property. Our tour guide was very good and highly knowledgeable about the history. Definitely recommend for a nice half-day visit there - do the tour in the morning, have lunch, and stroll the property.

Thought the tour was rushed. Our guide was polite and informative, but we thought there were rooms passed up that were not talked about, items in the rooms that could be talked about and nothing was said about some of the buildings and gardens on the grounds. Wine tasting was also rushed. Give people time to enjoy the taste of each wine, talk about it a little with their companion, etc. before pouring the next sample

The historic tour was fantastic, and the wine tasting was a great way to end the experience. Would highly recommend for those looking for something other than Broadway.

We really enjoyed the tour. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the house and history of the family. I recommend this tour to others. We liked it because it wasn’t too long for the children.

We had such a great time. We toured the mansion and our guide, Ben, was informed and funny. The wine was wonderful and the bourbon bar was also good

Highly recommend…one of the highlights of our recent trip. Nashville nightlife is so fun but crazy! Belle Meade is a relaxing way to spend the afternoon.
We spent 5 hours there! Had a delicious bbq lunch, shared a bottle of wine under giant magnolia trees, did the fascinating house tour and walked the grounds, wine tasting, and relaxed in rocking chairs with a bourbon cocktail. This place is a Nashville gem.

Amazing experience! Both our tour guide and wine/bourbon tasting host were so knowledgeable and engaging! I highly recommend the tour and tasting-so fun!

This is a well preserved property that lets you look into the past. Beautiful home and furnishings. The guides were very knowledgeable and well spoken. Wine tasting was included. We also did the Bourbon tasting. The Bourbon was amazing.

Absolutely beautiful peaceful place…
Lovely no words to express what a fantastic time we had at Belle Meade ,
Great tour very knowledgeable guide and a unspoilt place, so peaceful walking around, the wine is beautiful the food in the cafe and restaurant are lovely and very reasonably priced, bought 2 bottles of wine to brink home to the U.K. glasses too🤣,
One of the highlights of Nashville…

Interesting tour. I would recommend that you also do the Jubilee tour on the same day to get the full experience. You can take a cab from Nashville at reasonable $ so do not need an organised tour. We did both and spent maybe 4 hours on site including lunch. Fee wine tasting ok, but expensive if you want to then purchase a bottle

Interesting and informative (albeit very sad also) tour. This was my first time going to a plantation where the history was explained in such detail. My friend and I were very appreciative that there were people that were protecting and conserving the land, the Belle Meade mansion and the surrounding buildings.

We wanted to see actual horses, unfortunately, they aren't there in the coldest months. The mansion tour was great and the guide was very knowledgeable. Be sure to have lunch at The Meat and Three cafeteria in the visitors center.

This was our first foray into Tennessee history and a worthwhile visit to learn some of the more obscure history of Nashville. Diana, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative. She gave a first-rate tour.

Absolutely loved this place - the combo of history/education, wine, bourbon, and gift shops is right up my my alley! Definitely recommend this for a solo traveler. With so many self-paced tours in addition to the guided tours, you can spend as much time as you have. I very much enjoyed the mansion tour and wine/bouron/food pairing experience. The people made the difference - all were very inviting, helpful, and knowledgeable - and seems to really enjoy what they do.

Having broken my foot the night before, I was hesitant about taking the pre arranged tour. However, everyone was so accommodating!

Such a beautiful property! The tour guide was engaging and informative. Very rich with history. The winery has some great wines.

Belle Meade was fantastic ,very informative, very interesting and the winery was great,we only took the one tour but if we had more time we would have taken the rest of the tours

Absolutely stunning, and our tour guide was top notch. This is definitely a must stop in the Nashville area. The muscadine wine it to die for!

The guided tour of the Belle Meade mansion was worthwhile and informative, taking us back to the heyday of the mansion. But our "Battle at Belle Meade" tour was even better. Our guide, Willie, a history student took us around the grounds and back to the Civil War times when exciting war events were all around. There are even some bullet holes on the columns. The grounds are beautiful - highly recommend this tour!!

Fantastic! Preserved home is complete with original furnishings & furniture so as if in early 1900’s. Best example of early 1900 furniture. Also opportunity to see entire interior. The history of horse racing & wine/bourbon is a plus. Restaurant food was great. You will enjoy!!!

The tour was great! The guide was very knowledgeable. Not too many people in our tour group. Check in was easy! You wander around the grounds for the rest of the day. 3 meats was great for lunch. Huge portions and great flavor. We did a wine tasting that was also fun!!!

This place was absolutely amazing. From the tour guide to the winery and even the restaurant great services . We would recommend and come back again. We were in Tennessee for my daughter’s 21st birthday and she absolutely loved this part of the weekend. Thank you again for the great memories.

Belle Mead is a very beautiful and interesting historic home and grounds. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining how the fortunes of the Belle Mead families rose and fell.

Excellent tour and great guide. We stayed on and did the Enslavement tour which was really very good. Both guides very knowledgeable and made the tours a real education experience. Highly recommend

Really enjoyed the tour and learning the history of Belle Meade! The wine tasting at the end was a perfect way to cap it off.

Interesting tour of a beautiful estate. The tour guide was very sweet and knowledgeable - we do wish the tour could have been a bit longer so we could get more details. Ask questions! the tour guides knew much, much more than they have time to share in the formal tour. The grounds were beautiful and we were able to walk around and read about the different aspects of the grounds and the history. The little shop and wine tasting was nice.

My husband and I had a free day in Nashville. This was not originally in our plans, however so glad we went. It was very enjoyable. Our tour guide was exceptional, and the estate is worth seeing. The wine was very good. We even brought a couple bottles home.

Lovely, informative tour. Some stairs but easily walkable. Beautiful surroundings. Guide was super open to Q&A. Great wine tasting!

It was a great tour and Ms. Anastasia was very knowledgeable. A real humbling experience. We would recommend this tour.

What a lovely house. The lady conducting the tour was very informative and knowledgeable about the house, the items in it and all its owners. The wine tasting was a great extra. Wonderful wines I would never have tried otherwise. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Willy did an awesome job giving the mansion tour. Really did a great job telling the story of the mansion and plantation.

I’m a history buff and this was great. Everyone needs to see these types of places to appreciate the past. I really enjoyed it.

This was really cool to see. The tour of the facility, the old mansion, as well as the history for horse racing/breeding. We have traced a horse owned by brother-in-law back to one of the horses that was there back in that time era. The wine was ridiculously good and Nashville has a cork and carry law so you can drink the wine while walking around and seeing the other sites on the location.

We really enjoyed our tour of the mansion. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. We also recommend the ice cream and lunch spot before or after your tour. Thank you!

Top location delicious guides and excellent information
The combination nature eating wine games and horses is sublime and yet also the painful of the bib

I found Toms tour informative and interactive in an easy way
As an Irish person i did this tour to try to gain an insight into what happened in the years up to the civil war and the years post emancipation
Someone said they would have liked only facts pertaining to Belle Meade but i found his talk extremely informative and he was happy to answer all the questions asked
As a foreigner with limited knowledge I found him to be an excellent guide
I arrived early and enjoyed wandering through the grounds of Belle Meade , lots to see

Sadly, this tour was a disappointment. The guide was more focused on his personal views rather than providing the history of the Plantation and the era. Thankfully, the tour price included admission to the grounds, which was much better than the tour itself.

Great way to begin our Nashville adventure! The history, beauty and a little wine were informative and fun. Come earlier in the day to enjoy the creamery and outdoor games!

We had an amazing visit. We really enjoyed the food and wine paring event we attended. Great food and great wine! Definitely would come again.

The mansion tour was great and I learned a lot. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I also purchased the food and wine pairing afterward. The food pairing was great although very small bite sized pieces so don't expect an actual meal. The sommelier was also very knowledgeable but treated me differently from everyone else. He invited everyone to introduce themselves and then started talking when it got to my turn. I had to repeat every comment or question I had at least twice throughout the whole experience because he would start talking whenever I opened my mouth. EVERY. SINGLE TIME. He then *forgot* to serve me one of the wines. I was really confused by this and it made for an extremely awkward and unpleasant experience. If you are from the area, this seems like a great activity to do with a group of friends. If you are like me and traveling solo from 4000+ miles away, save yourself the time and money and do the complimentary wine tasting after the mansion tour, head out to the patio, and buy yourself a glass of your favorite wine.

I was a little apprehensive about doing a tour of an antebellum estate given their complicated history, but this was informative, respectful of all principals, and educational. Our guide was Diana who was gracious and knowledgeable. The tour moved at just the right pace and we were given just enough information to make the house seem less like a museum and more like a home.

A historic place that is very well restored. The people who worked here knew how to make a person feel welcome. Teagan (*spelling? ) was my tour guide. She has talent and friendliness. I enjoyed her talk. The grounds and educational displays were informative and disturbing. As they should be. There was nothing glorious about the way the prosperity of the John Hardin era was built on enslaving and overworking the people who made this place work. I am glad the truth was told about that. The details about the horses and dairy were also prominent, and I liked seeing all the horse drawn vehicles on display, but the enslaved people stories kept me in a mindful and somber mood regarding my visit to this place. That's only right.

We loved Belle Meade! It is such a beautiful place. We enjoyed the tour of the mansion which ended with a wine tasting that was a big hit with our group!! The grounds are beautiful and provide a great background for photos. Be sure to leave enough time to peruse the gift shop, it has a lot of great items for gifts and something for yourself!!

We selected this historic distillery and winery because we thought it might be interesting …….. we were NOT disappointed!
The grounds and historic structures are truly incredible. The history of this former plantation is fascinating. It’s all beautiful.
We did the Bourbon experience. It was really a treat. Our tour guide was Maddie. She was fun and full of information. The bourbon cocktails were really really exceptional. The bourbon was so good. We could have sat in the Icehouse for hours. It was memorable!!!!

went with colleagues. The mansion tour started a couple of minutes early so we missed. However, the staff was so apologetic and accommodating. Beautiful grounds and amazing wine.

Wonderful trip, breathtaking views and amazing history. If you like horse racing this place has history, back to shire to Sea Biscuit and secretariat Definitely a must visit when vacationing in Nashville.

This tour was very interesting and in such a beautiful setting. The history of the Mansion was very interesting and our guide was very knowledgable. We enjoyed seeing the mansion and learning about the history of the family and the race horses. I recommend heading to Belle Meade!!

The guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot not only about the lives of slaves at Belle Meade but also about slavery in the wider sense. Most visitors seemed not to take this tour. They missed out!

Learning the history of the area was fascinating. Wines were good, grounds were impressive. Nice relaxing atmosphere.

We chose the paired wine and small bites tour. Excellent choice and our sommelier Macon was so delightful. Honestly, the small plates were some of the best we have ever had and the wine is average, but with a lovely history of how they can produce wine based on historical precedent.
Our tickets allowed us to walk the entire property - shade, breezes, horses grazing and much history. Some of the history is troubled as the original owners owned slaves. The history markers are well done. Easy to Uber there and back to downtown Nashville

The mansion and grounds are well looked after and the guide we got on our tour was very knowledgeable. The complimentary wine tasting after the tour was an added bonus.
Really good to find out about the history of the site and the people who lived there.

The mansion tour guide provided a ton of information about the plantation, the five generations who built & lived in it and the thoroughbreds. The 10,600 ft.² mansion is decorated with original, period appropriate furniture and various items. It’s like you just stepped into someone’s 1800’s home with all the minuet details. Plan to spend another 45 minutes to an hour, walking around the property visiting all the outbuildings & gardens. Wine tasting was 4 wines & included the blackberry wine that was made at the mansion. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon.

Amazing guide and such an interesting story to this property and owners. Beautiful land and buildings to enjoy and food and drinks too

Such an interesting and enjoyable tour! We were engaged the entire time. It felt more like we were part of a walking story. We’d give our tour guide five stars. Plus the wine tasting was fun and delicious and we really enjoyed the ice cream as well. Lawn games gave something for everyone.

How interesting! Several different guided tours to choose from. Another part of Nashville for those of us interested in history.

Our Guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. The place and the history was outstanding. We learned so much about the families who once lived there. Enjoyed our tour!

Beautiful grounds and lovely mansion! Well worth a visit! The gift shop, winery and distillery add to the experience. The tour guide was a wealth of fascinating historical information!

The Belle Meade Plantation was originally founded as a stud farm for race horses. The tour traces the history of the families who owned the property from its founding in 1807 through 1906 when it was sold to pay off accumulated debts. The mansion is beautiful and the grounds are bucolic. The tour guide did a credible job of describing the design of the home and the changes that took place over time, as well as tracing the family members over generations of ownership. Recommended for history nerds as well as people who appreciate beautiful architecture.

What a fantastic day! Our tour guide in the Mansion was excellent, the wine tasting showed me I like blackberry wine. At Coop and Scoop we ordered ice cream and played corn hole. They also have mini golf, and horseshoes. The grounds were beautiful!!
I highly recommend this for people that love old mansions

We did the wine, bourbon, and food pairing. It was delicious, and the sommelier very informative. I'd recommend the tasting and leaving time to tour the grounds if possible.

We toured the mansion and the grounds and enjoyed it. As a horse enthusiast was nice to learn that so many of the winning thoroughbreds were born and trained here, including Secretariat. Particularly noteworthy was the slave who really was the one responsible for the horses and is buried close to the mausoleum. As we were there in the a.m. we did not try the wine tasting but did have lunch there and enjoyed beautiful live music.

5 stars. I️ took two tours. The mansion tour and the journey to jubilee. The mansion tour was ok. Very informative, quick and lots of artifacts for the visitors to see. In addition Melissa was SO knowledgeable, quick on her feet and flowed through the tour like a natural. The real show stopper was the journey to jubilee tour. 90 minutes of raw, apologetic honesty. The stories weren’t curated but that’s ok! That’s the reality of many enslaved stories. I️ liked that the tour included almost every element of the plantation. It really goes to show you just how much African Americans contributed to the success of this place. Both tours ended with a complementary wine tasting, and the wine was fabulous. They chose the best options to really tie it together. Overall 10 out of 10. I can’t stop thinking about journey to Jubilee. It really touched me.

Excellent facilities, staff and tour guide. Beautiful grounds, gardens and wine shop. History and great food abound.

I cannot say enough nice about the people working here. A lady in our our group became sick and had to leave the tour about a third of the way through, and they did not hesitate to refund her tour fee - were very understanding. As for the rest of the group, the young lady leading the tour was amazing - so many inside stories about the families living at the Belle Meade, a well as their guests, which made the beautiful home even more relatable. And the wine is delicious! Highly recommend this tour.

We decided to not go to Graceland, and opted for the Belle Meade Wine, Bourbon and food pairing tour instead. We also did the historic Civil War tour on the property as well. WELL WORTH BOTH. The pairing experience was not only informative and yummy but Becky was a wealth of knowledge about the area and very funny. They also accommodate lots of different allergy/food preferences.

Beautiful Mansion and the grounds are kept very well. The mansion was beautiful, and our guide was very knowledgeable.
I highly recommend this tour.

Very educational staff very friendly .somewhere I would love two bring my small grandkids all the things were so so beautiful 😍

My husband and I did the wine and food pairing with friends and it was a wonderful, first rate experience. The food was delicious and included lobster ceviche, crab cakes, lamb and other gourmet tastings. The wines were equally as delightful. After the pairing we explored the beautiful Belle Meade grounds, played lawn games, relaxed with a bottle of wine, and enjoyed some ice cream. You can spend the whole day there and not be bored. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Nashville.

Fabulous tour learning about life as enslaved people had to endure. Highly recommend this tour along with mansion. Nice to have snacks and beverages available in between tours. Awesome day!

Very informative and great tour learned stuff I didn’t know beautiful place grounds were gorgeous gonna recommend it to friends and relatives didn’t realize there was so much history in Tennessee

Enjoyed our tour with Kelsey. She was very interesting and informative. Enjoyed learning about the history of the Mansion and it's owners. The grounds are beautiful and the wine tasting was an added bonus!

We'd heard they added a tour covering the experience of enslavement and that was of interest to us, probably wouldn't have visited Belle Meade otherwise. I guess the tour started in 2019. We thought it was well done. Our interpreter was personable, dealt with the topic with sensitivity and historical accuracy. When he expressed his opinion he was super clear it was his opinion. We also experienced the slavery tour at the Hermitage, and it was not as good in our opinion (though it was cool that it was from a horse drawn wagon).

Beautiful home with some amazing antiques! Guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Lots of details about the family history of this home/land/business.

This tour is loaded with history I never knew. We enjoyed the tour and the relaxed atmosphere of the property. I highly recommend it.

Beautiful grounds, knowledgeable staff and interesting stories about the history of the Belle Meade facility. And did I mention the house is air-conditioned? Wonderful way to explore history, be entertained, stay cool and finish off with some delicious and unique wines, and ice cream from the Coop Scoop. A great afternoon for our group of four couples, even in 95+ degree heat. We had fun looking around the grounds, enjoying the shade of the beautiful magnolia trees, and trying our hand at croquet, cornhole, and putt putt golf while we enjoyed our ice cream. Our guide, Samantha, was wonderful!

We also did the self guided tour. Very interesting, well layed out. Enjoyed learning about the history of the plantation.
The guide was very knowledgeable.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the Belle Meade Guided Mansion Tour! Our guide was fabulous and very informative. I would highly recommend this tour!

Beautiful grounds. Loved the history lesson. We were there for a wine and food paring and found the facility offered so much more. Our sommelier was a delight. Kept our group interested with facts and history of the wine, food and location. A definite must experience while visiting nashville.

Don’t b tempted by this rip off- s xpenaive to go on tour and not necessary- just walk he grounds yourself. This is a HUG MMEY MAKING SCHEME FROM START TO END

Good tour, good guide. Interesting albeit sad family story. Gave us good insight of life back then. Recommend this tour.

Belle Meade mansion tour was very fun and informative. It was the perfect length and Belle Meade Plantation is beautiful. The Blackberry wine is amazing. After the tour, it was fun to buy a drink from the restaurant and wander the grounds. Would recommend to anyone.

Absolutely a beautiful place to visit.
This place will take you back in time over 100 years ago and will give you a visual idea of how people lived their day-to-day lives on the grounds of that plantation.

We did the Bellmead mansion tour and the journey to Jubilee tour and both or marvelous. The guides were knowledgeable and helpful. They took all of our questions. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the historical story were comprehensive and truly educational. Highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely gorgeous day spent learning history relevant to our area. Our guide was so well informed and charming. Our family had come to visit from out of town and we wanted to do something memorable together! This was an excellent choice and highly recommend it!

It's a sad story of a very successful estate that was not able to keep their business viable and eventually sell it all. I say this because if you want a feel good story you won't get it here. The grounds are beautiful. The stables have no horses. The mansion is interesting to tour and smaller than I expected. The guide was good. The wine tasting at the end is something they added to the tour for an extra element of fun. The only good wine was the one from California.

I want all historic buildings to be preserved and it takes a lot of money to keep those treasures in good shape. Belle Meade is NOT the most spectacular home of its time. In fact, it is rather modest. I think the "attraction" would be more enticing if they focused on the horses and the lineage of the horses, but that takes money. The tour guide, Samantha, was enthusiastic and knowledgeable and gracious. The tour was worth $33 and it is expensive. The wine tasting was modest to say the least. The focus was not on the science of tasting. We had to ask for water to cleanse between samples. The grounds are beautiful and it was a pleasant way to spend a Saturday afternoon in Nashville. It was not worth traveling to Nashville just for Belle Meade, however.

We had a truly memorable tour of the plantation with Samuel, a very knowledgeable and personable young man with a true passion for the history of this property! It is so good to see a young person who truly appreciates the history and legacy of properties such as this and can discuss both the wonderful things about plantation life as well as honest sharing even the difficult parts of this nation’s history. He is a gem!

Totally worth it, the guides are researchers and experts on the subject matter. The tour is not too long & you can take all the time you want to explore and learn more about the site.

The Belle Meade Plantation main house (Mansion) is a must see! The Mansion is absolutely beautiful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and took his time explaining the history. (I think his name was Gus)
The only negative to the tour was that the group size was way too large. Some of the rooms, in my opinion were too small to squeeze 20 people into. I watched as people tried to navigate the room and look at artifacts as they bumped into things potentially damaging items. It was also hard to absorb the whole experience with that many people standing in the way.

Tour guide Andie was a wonderful host and story teller! We truly enjoyed our visit to the Belle Meade mansion followed by a wonderful wine tasting 🍷

We had a spare day during our visit to Nashville and we decided to catch the public bus to Belle Mead and we were so happy that we made that decision.
Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming. The mansion tour was excellent especially with Dianne as our guide. The only problem would be that we wished the tour was double the length as it was so interesting.
The history of the house and the families who lived there was fascinating. Especially the contribution made by the enslaved ( and later, freed) people.
The visit was excellent value for money as we spent a long time exploring the extensive grounds as well.
Would definitely recommend this to anyone who is interested in the history of the area.

A historic home. I enjoyed seeing all the period pieces and carefully curated interiors. Our guide was great and answered all our questions. The wine tasting was a nice end to the tour.

Very interesting history associated with this mansion. Never knew of this mansion but well worth the visit!! Would highly recommend.

It's great to learn about the history it’s very important. People should get to know the guide. It's a different experience, combining the knowledge and history of the professional.

A Thoroughbred top quality tour with wine at the end!!
Mary Jane was outstanding and we know so much more about a fascinating place and time.

This was a great tour. The property is so beautiful, the history is fascinating and our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable! The people who worked there were friendly and it was a great, fun experience.

Great tour with Tom, our guide. He shared his excellent knowledge of the Civil War and the impact on those living and working at Belle Meade and the surrounding area. I'd recommend this tour to anyone who visits Belle Meade.

I celebrated my company's 40th anniversary and one of the stops was the Belle Meade mansion tour and I opted to do the 4-course tasting lunch with bourbon and wine. It was an amazing choice.
Lunch is served in the original stable cerca 1892. Service is devine and an expert wine/bourbon guide talks about the house made bourbon and wines. Food is prepared exquisitely by one of the chefs: crab pasta, grilled salmon, pork belly and outstanding lamb. Happily, no bread or desserts needed.
Afterwards, the mansion tour was amazing and even cooler than The Hermitage.
Overall, you can get the comp wine tasting but for the real deal, splurge on the lunch.

We enjoyed seeing the house but there were too many people on the tour. A group of 14 joined - and made it very difficult for the rest of us to hear the guide. Such a large group should book their own tour.
The wine tasting was very good.

I would have preferred the speaker to give the facts only about what occurred at Belle Mead, and how the Afro American people were treated prior to the Civil War. Allow the audience to judge for themselves about that time in history. I don’t want the presenter’s opinion I only want facts. Thank you!

Beautiful property, the old mansion is very well cared for and the grounds well kept. Sad that no pics are allowed inside. Lovely way to spend a couple of hours, then had a super southern style meal at one of the restaurants. Highly recommend!

Would advise others to see this plantation. We thoroughly enjoyed the House Tour. We also went on the Journey to Jubilee Tour. Lots of information from both of these tours. Do not miss it. We have toured many plantations; this one is different because of the Horse Racing History. The Meat Three Restaurant looked great, although we didn't eat there. We did stop in at the Scoop and Coop for a milk shake.

Excellent tour guide shared the rich horse breeding history of Belle Meade. Beautiful furnishings. Also very good food at the restaurant.

The entire place is gorgeous! The employees were very kind and accommodating, my group was late for our reservation and they gladly moved us to a different time so we could experience the amazing mansion. We also had lunch here and it was very fast and tasty. We all agreed this was one of the highlights of Nashville.

Insightful and moving tour with a focus on the experiences of slaves at Belle Meade, particularly children jockeys and women. Our expert guide, Anastasia, really emphasised and brought to life the horrific experiences of those enslaved at Belle Meade and other similar establishments. Important messages that everyone should ponder on.

Knowledgeable tour guide. You get to explore and feel part of the story. Interesting to see all parts of the history of the place. Has a lot of the original furnishing. Great wine, tour wasn't too large or too small. Recommended.

Amazing staff and tour guide.
Relaxing experience while learning a bit of history. Wine tasting was great tour finish.

We really enjoyed our morning at Belle Meade. Our tour guide was great. She gave us all the fascinating details and she was very engaging. Belle Meade is beautiful, the wine tasting was fun, and it’s just an all around “great add” to your Nashville trip.

What an amazing trip into the late 1800's into the 1900's of how this mansion used to live. I loved hearing the history, seeing the current state of the grounds, hear about ALL the families that lived there through the years and it ended with a great wine tasting to which I am excited to get my bottles shipped to me.
July was warm for the outside portion of the tours, but like you see in my photo, there are some nice spots to cool off outside and be one with the sounds of nature.

Belle Meade is a beautiful place, rich in history. I have been a few times and learn something new each time. I recommend the Mansion Tour and taking time to walk the grounds. The Bourbon experiences are fun too.

Interesting and lovely house and ground. Saw 2 horses in a pasture but realized there is no longer a stable with more. Enormous three wine tasting and gift shop. Also 2 restaurants on the grounds.

Enjoyed the tour and all the surrounding outbuildings. Felt a little rushed during the tour and wine tasting. Great wine.

The Mansion Tour was a very informative & interesting experience. The furnishings were incredibly repurchased to the original family who lived & raised their winning horses of the time period. Interesting piece of history from Nashville.

All of the staff knows so much about the history of the grounds and they were all very informative. The mansion tour was great as well as the wine tasting. The free time afterwards to explore the grounds on our own was great. The history behind everything definitely left us sad for everything that took place but nonetheless it was very factual driven.

The two things I liked the most about this site is how well the overall grounds are kept and the organization’s intentful way of incorporating slavery and enslaved people in the guided tour narrative.

We expected to be two among many when in reality it was us and our amazing Wine and Bourbon expert Becky!! Learned about Belle Meade, the pairings of food with wine and notes in the bourbon. The plantation is beautiful with all the greenery, several horses on property now as well. There is something for the young, the young at heart and the in between! Take a break from Broadway and venture out.

The tour at Belle Meade was an incredible experience. Such an interesting tour that I walked away from with knowledge about a historical landmark that I had no idea about going in.
Our guide Willie was such a fantastic ambassador with so much knowledge of the history. Also, the Wine was great!! I cannot recommend more.

This tour was an amazing experience! No sugar-coating and actually talking about the harsh facts of slavery and the truth of post-emancipation. Highly recommend if you are in the area!! Well organised and topped off the tour with a wine tasting, featuring a homage to one of the head housemaid’s original blackberry wine recipes.

Reminded me a lot of Jackson's Hermitage but not as elegant . Docent talked more about the family than the architecture of the house and it's furnishings, which is why I was there. Not educational at all. You ask me to write a review so I did. I would go to The Hermatage over Belle Meade. Last thing- why do young Mothers think it's appropriate to bring two daughters 3 & 5 yrs old who want to touch everything and talks non stop w/o parent saying anything to them?

The property was beautiful. And the history of the families was so Interesting
But the history of the horses and Bob Green was the best. And the wine tasting was pretty fun too. .

On our first visit to Nashville, Tennessee we wanted to visit the historic mansions of the antebellum South. Belle Meade (beautiful meadow) has a long history tied to thoroughbred horse racing with Bonnie Scotland (2/3 of all Kentucky Derby winners and all 11 Triple Crown winners can be traced to this horse) and Iroquois the 2 most successful studs of the farm. In addition to the mansion there are barns to tour, a wine tasting room, ice cream parlor and 2 restaurants on site. The guide for the mansion was a history major and she gave detailed tales of the Harding & Jackson (not related to Andrew) families. The artifacts in the mansion are largely originals and well maintained. On this hot August day the mansion was cooled.
All of the staff were helpful and pleasant. The included wine tasting included 4 samples with option to purchase by the glass or bottle. We ate lunch at the Meat + 3 and had a pleasant meal. Enjoyable visit.

The grounds are very attractive and picturesque. Our guide was very knowledgeable and very helpful. She was open to questions and very positive-disappointed that we were not allowed to take pictures. Enjoyed the history about the race horses and civil war.

We did the wine tasting the tour and kind of just enjoyed walking around the grounds. Good time had my all in our little party group. Was beautiful, was hot. But beautiful

Our tourguide was Tegan, she knew a lot about the plantation, the family who owned it and the enslaved people who lived there. For the most part of the tour it was just me and my daughter which gave us plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss the topics with Tegan.
It was very educational and we were so glad we did this in addition to all the music and fun stuff we got to do in Nashville. Please go and book this tour, the funds gained throgh booked tours are the reason they can continue telling this part of history and make sure those people are remembered! Thank you Tegan and good luck with your thesis!
The additional wine tasting was also very nice, great explaining about the different wines and they all tasted good!

Beautiful home. Excellent guide. Learned so much about the history of the area. Would highly recommend it for any and all!

Great tour! Very interesting and informative but also beautiful grounds! We toured the mansion and then went to the winery.

Nice tour with a beautiful and fascinating story about the history about the mansion. The wine tasting was funny.

If you want a relaxing day away from the crowds and noise of Broadway then this tour is for you! The mansion and the grounds are stunning and so peaceful that you can almost hear the workings of this past stud farm come to life! The wine was wonderful also. Treat yourself, you won’t be disappointed!

Learned so much from our excellent tour guide about the family history highlights, life on the property for enslaved and family, the horse breeding business of the time, so much more. Property is incredible, staff very professional. Excellent wine tasting, great gift shop, good value for the price. Worth a visit.

The Belle Meade mansion tour was enjoyable and informative. We did not realize the historical relevance of the plantation to horse racing.

Plenty to see. Tour guide was very knowledgeable. rooms are very small and a group of 20 can feel cramped. no horses. check out the three meats cafeteria. Great meatloaf and fried okra.

To be perfectly honest I feel like this place is a sham to sell gift store items and their terrible wine. Not really sure of the historical significance of this place other than breeding horses. The tour had way too many people for the size of the “mansion”. It all just felt like a gimmick to buy their wine at the end. The tour guide guy was nice and that was about the only positive thing I had to take away from the highly recommended experience. Would not do it again or ever recommend this for anyone visiting Nashville.

Fun tour and beautiful grounds. Our guide was able to answer all of the questions that our group had regarding historical elements… I highly recommend, it’s not too long and being able to walk the grounds and have some wine was super nice as well

We were very pleased with the tour guide, the mansion and the grounds. Very interesting to note that all the home furnishings were sold off at one time to pay a family debt.......but the historical preservation department of Tenn. was able through research to locate/purchase similar if not the exact pieces missing. The displays appeared authentic as if the family was out for the day. I would highly recommend the tour.
P.B.

This place was crazy expensive and way over the top! Everyone we interacted with was extremely friendly but we just could not get over the pricing. They also don't offer all tours on the same day, which kind of sucks wheb your just there for a day or two.. other places to go and things to do.

Beautiful grounds and people. The museum staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable. Melissa our tour guide was amazing and very well versed in the history and funny too. I would go again and just spend more time enjoying the winery and grounds to see everything that they had to offer

Nice and clean, well kept place. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Historically, not authentic, but they are working on acquiring more of the original artifacts.
Surprisingly good wines and the old fashion was wonderful.

Dallas did an amazing job sharing the history of this land. The tour lasted about 40 minutes and the group was about 20 to 25 people. I enjoy learning about the history of this family and its slaves.

Our tour was purchased for 3:00. We were there early, and were walking the grounds. When we saw the people on the porch going into the mansion we walked over, and the door was closed and locked. The time was 3:02. I knocked respectfully on the door, and no one opened it. I looked in the window, and could see the group in the foyer. I tapped on the window, and nothing. I knocked a little harder on the door...still nothing. I then knocked loudly, but not rudely on the door again. The tour guide answered the door, and said that she had already started the tour, and I needed to go back to the desk. I wasn't going to go back to the desk, and argue about two minutes of tardiness, and not be given a refund; so I stepped past her, and said, " That's okay, I'll be fine without hearing that part." Besides that, our guide was very informative, and knowledgeable about the mansion. DON'T BE LATE, DON'T BE LATE, DON'T BE LATE!!!!!

The mansion tour was very nice. You get to see quite a lot of rooms. The grounds are beautiful. They have a nice display of carriages. Wine tasting is also available.

Our guide for the mansion tour (Tom, I think) was excellent. Very knowledgeable and moved our group at an appropriate pace. The grounds are beautiful.
Enjoyed all 4 wines we tasted.

We did the Journey to Jubilee tour. It was incredibly informative and eye opening. We would absolutely have done the Mansion tours well if time permitted. We could have easily spent 3-4 hours there looking around the grounds as well.
We had lunch there and sat on the deck which was pleasant.
Jeff was a great tour guide, all the staff we interacted with were lovely from the moment we walked in to getting lunch at their restaurant at the end.
We had unfortunately been running late and called to let them know we were getting there right at 12:30 (When tour was set to start). She let us know she would be waiting for us, she had bracelets ready and briskly walked us up to meet the rest of the tour. ** Note- get there 30 minutes before tour as asked in the confirmation email**

Interesting glimpse into the plantation era south. Easy and entertaining tour. Guide was informed and we also got the low down on some ghost stories.

We absolutely loved it! Our tour guide was absolutely wonderful and she was very knowledgeable! This is something I would definitely recommend doing!

Enjoyed our time here, did the Mansion tour ancient tasting. Grabbed a few bottles to go, walked the beautiful grounds.

The grounds are beautiful. The house is amazing. We had a wonderful informative tour guide. Lots of history in the place. I would highly recommend for the price and beauty to check this place out.

Beautiful grounds and a very interesting story. Definitely, recommend and plan for time to walk around after the tour.

Really enjoyed our visit out to Belle Meade, it was nice to see a different area, and we both found it really chilled and relaxing. The wine tasting was nice too

The wine & bourbon pairing experience was amazing! Everything tasted delicious and we learned alot about wine and bourbon. Our sommelier was also certified in bourbon, so she was super knowledgeable and engaging. One thing I would suggest is being able to keep the Belle Meade bourbon glass as a commemorative souvenir of the experience!

Our guide was very entertaining and knowledgeable! It stinks you can’t take photos inside, but it was worth the tour! It is well-maintained, and its history is fascinating. I have toured this beautiful plantation 3 times and everytime I go to Nashville I always come here

Such a beautiful location and so much to take in. William was our tour guide and he was top notch. The blackberry wine is AMAZING! Highly recommend!

Belle Meade is filled with history. Make sure to arrive a few minutes before your tour (if you are taking one), because they start on time and won't let you join the tour if you arrive even 5 minutes late. You will get a refund for the tour and can still partake in any of the other activities you signed up for. With a winery, bourbon bar, ice cream parlor and gift shops, it is a nice day out!

All of the staff was extremely friendly and the tour was so informative. The grounds were amazingly well kept. This was a very cleverly hidden secret in Nashville. We appreciated the food and wine on the grounds and despite the warm weather, the tour in the mansion was air conditioned. Just minutes away from the strip in Nashville, this is a must see.

We did the wine tasting and bourbon with food pairings, was a great experience! Knowledgeable staff and pairings were amazing.

We had a great time. Lots of history. The pace of tour was just right. Enjoyed the wine tasting afterwards. For an afternoon activity the price was a bargain for everything offered.

Beautiful place! Full of history and our guide was very knowledgeable. Wonderful wine and food as well as a great area outside to eat.

We had a wonderful time touring the mansion. I wish I knew more ahead of time about the history and the other tour options that weren’t listed on Trip Advisor as I would have picked a different one to learn more about the enslaved individuals as well and their history so that I could book other tours as well! Overall our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and it was only her second tour ever! We definitely learned a lot and I hope to return soon and learn even more. The complimentary wine tasting was also fabulous. Be sure to check out their website for all of their amazing offerings. The property is absolutely beautiful!

Loved the visit through the mansion and the stories about the family. We are on our way to the Kentucky Derby but didn’t know the tie to the horse. The grounds are beautiful. Highly recommend.

We highly recommend this tour if you are open to hearing the stories of life as experienced by the enslaved persons who lived at Belle Meade. The information, and thoughts to ponder, were presented in a very factual, informative way. What makes the Belle Meade stories different from other plantation tours is the focus on the demands on the slaves required to run a thoroughbred horse farm, rather than a cash crop farm. The narratives were interesting because few slave stories are told from experiences in an equestrian setting where the horses were treated 10 times better than the humans living there. The whole tour was very enlightening and well done. Our only disappointment was that we waited outside on the steps of the Harding Cabin for 20 min in front of of a sign that said, “Journey Tour Begins Here,” assuming that would be the first structure we toured. Surprisingly, the guide spoke to us a good five minutes at that spot and told us we could come back later to look inside and marches us off to the blacksmith. Unfortunately, we were on a tight schedule with other tours we had booked so missed seeing inside and could easily have toured it during our 20 min of waiting prior to the tour. If you only have time/money for one tour, book this over the house tour.

Wonderful tour, our guide was very knowledgeable. Really enjoyed all the history about the family. Appreciate the foundation retrieving all the former furnishings of the house.

Beautiful Manson, guide Melissa was awesome and very knowledgeable! Wine tasting was fun snd food in the restaurant was great!

We stopped here for a tour it was very informative and the mansion was beautiful. It’s definitely worth the stop if you have the time!

Although it was a very hot day, my husband and I enjoyed the tour of the mansion. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made it interesting. While waiting for the tour to start we relaxed on the porch in one of the rockers....After the tour we did the wine tasting and bought a red sweet wine. We had lunch there which was very good...Try the flatbread it was yummy. We sat outside and enjoyed the music. The gift shop was very nice and I managed to spend a few dollars....

Our guide Kelsey did a great job recounting the realities of enslavement on the mansion , really impressive and worthwhile experience. Should be a part of every visit there. Wine tasting afterwards was both educational & tasty —and free samples to boot. Will likely order a bottle or 2 on line.

We had a great, informative (and very humorous) tour with Jeff yesterday. He is a great decent and everyone reached about the tour. The complimentary wine tasting was so good that we stayed for more and will also be ordering some wines!

Wow, not sure what to say here. I’ll get right to it—not going to mince any words. The tour was subpar, to say the least. We were given very little information about what we were viewing. We were rushed through—-barely enough time to look in the rooms (we weren’t invited to do so…we had to seek them out and find the rooms around corners because our guide couldn’t care less if we saw them or not). Our guide was obviously distrustful of the tour group….she would not turn her back on us and locked doors behind us so we couldn’t go back to an area we’d been. The place itself is in a state of disrepair and is dirty. Thick dust covered the artifacts…not just a little, but A LOT of dust….broken fences on the exterior, haphazard “landscaping.” Boxes of brochures piled high in the barn stalls, disorganized messes peering from inside the windows. The highlight was the ladies in the gift shop and those taking the tickets…they were lovely and friendly. The place needs an overhaul. I do not recommend.

Very interesting and informative! Lots of history! You will love the history! The guide was very knowledgeable. Beautiful grounds. The food and wine was terrific!

Very good tour full of information. We enjoyed it! Well worth the price! It’s a beautiful place with lots of history. We walked around the whole property and you do get to go into the kitchen house and it’s attached to the main house.

Mansion tour was informative and not too long. The grounds are impressive. Had lunch in the Meat and 3 cafe. BBQ chicken was good. Never tried Fried Okra or Collard Greens before, and both were tasty. Wine tasting was quick and wines were good…although they said their grapes are imported from California. There’s also another small place to get sandwiches and charcuterie. Outside seating looked inviting to lunch there with a bottle of wine…maybe next time.

As restored mansions go, Belle Meade is one of the better ones. The interior is in very good condition with many period furnishings and many paintings of the owners. Considering the degradation the site went through over the centuries, the building was in remarkably good condition.
The docent was very knowledgeable about the history of the house and the owners. This place was very unique in that its owners ran a horse breeding operation for most of the initial 100 years.
The winery produces many local varieties which are delicious and covers the whole spectrum of dry to fruity varieties.
Would recommend this site for anyone interested in restored mansions and history.

Would recommend anyone to take the tour. Great 45 minute tour. The facilitator was very welcoming to all thoughts and questions.

This is a really beautiful property. The tour of the mansion was fascinating with so many of the original furnishings-wonderful old antiques. Fun to hear the history of thoroughbred stallions and horse racing. It was nice to have a cup of wine to walk around and take a look at the property and the old buildings. It was a really nice way to spend the afternoon. Lovely gift shop too.

A look back into the past of a bygone era. Always disconcerting when touring these southern mansions and plantations to see how slavery was woven into the fabric of their lives, but nonetheless quite educational. This one was a stud farm and one of the biggest. Worthwhile tour............................

We uber’d here from our downtown hotel and all couples enjoyed the afternoon. Our guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The mansion tour was fantastic and signage around the grounds and carriage house was interesting. Price is reasonable. The included wine tasting was rushed and wine quality was only OK.

We had a wonderful time at the wine and bourbon food pairing with Brandon. His knowledge of bourbon and wine was incredible. The food portions were great and all the pours were good. We walked the grounds and enjoyed all the history there. Highly recommend this when you visit Nashville!

We had a great tour round the mansion with our tour guide Ben, followed by a decent complimentry Wine tasting.
We did a secondary experience the Wine, Bourbon and food pairing which was a great experience. Becky our sommelier was very knowledgeable, and gave us a lot of detail about how Bourbon is made. She was joined by Quinn who was observing for experience and she was really friendly too. The Bourbon cocktail was delicious and you get the recipe card which was a nice touch.
We had the added bonus of being the only ones who booked that particular experience so it was like a private event.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff…toured the mansion (no photos allowed) on a very hot day, thankfully it was air conditioned. The guide was very knowledgable and was able to answer all sorts of random questions from visitors. Also did the wine tasting which was great.

There are a lot of options when you visit the property. We did the mansion tour and free wine tasting. The mansion portion itself was just $8 extra, but you can't purchase that alone. I'd come back to see the journey to jubilee tour or the bourbon tour. Much of the appeal is hanging out after the tour on the grounds and enjoying some wine with some live music in the shade. Nice way to spend an afternoon

William was our tour guide and we thought he was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We really liked the wine also! They had a lot of sweet wines but a few on the dry side too.

Staff was friendly and knowledgeable. They accommodated us when traffic made us late by switching us to the next tour. They home was beautiful and 80% of the items in it were original to the home. The grounds are well kept.

This property is absolutely amazing! It was a refreshing contrast to the lights and activity on Broadway - it provides a great perspective on the way Tennessee used to be. We did the Bourbon Experience, which was fantastic, but also toured the grounds. It is a must-see!!

I thought the tour was very good and informative. I had my dad and two younger kids in the tour. My dad who was handicap was unable to make it through the tour, too much standing and stairs. They were not able to really accommodate him even though they said they could accommodate for that. 10 minutes into the tour he had to leave and just go outside to sit. They did not offer a refund so that was disappointing. My younger kids were not remotely interested but that is my fault, should have known better. I thought it was fun and interesting. The grounds were beautiful. The wine was delicious. Overall a great experience for a certain crowd.

We enjoyed the history, the house and the lovely grounds of Belle Meade. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. If you have an interest in thoroughbred horses and racing, this is a perfect place for you. Their collection of carriages are quite plentiful and well restored. They also had some beautiful restored sleighs which was a nice surprise. At the end of our tour we had a wine tasting which was included. We liked the delicious Red Muscadine so much that we bought a bottle. Recommend a visit to Belle Meade for a peaceful enjoyable morning or afternoon. And they have ice cream!!

Cody was an excellent docent/guide, very knowledgable and pleasant. Don’t miss the winery stop, the Blackberry wine is tasty. My wife enjoyed our BBQ lunch and I may have had an ice cream too! Great day at an awesome place.

The house is interesting and the guide well informed. We also enjoyed a nice outdoor seating area near the winery. There is a large gift shop and several outbuildings that were less interesting. But overall it was a nice way to spend a little time.

Belle Meade was easy to find, right off the main street of Harding Parkway just 20 miles from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Surface parking is ample. Large, walkable and immaculate property with several tour options, Visitors Center, gift shop, winery, bourbon bar, café and excellent restaurant in the visitor center. (We had both the fried and smoked chicken with sweet potato casserole – delicious). We started with the house tour and learned so much about the history of the plantation / horse stud farm. And the history of Tennessee at that time that made it all possible. It really was a rags to riches story for these two families with an ending I did not expect. Our guide was fantastic. She knew so much about the family and all the wonderful history that came with them. Beautifully furnished rooms. Beautiful property that you could stroll around at your leisure. The carriage house and stables were in great condition, and the large collection of carriages were just beautiful. After the tour, we had an included wine tasting. Their wines were absolutely delicious especially the Red Muscaline, Big Win Zin and Blackberry. We bought those to take home. And a large jar of homemade peaches from the gift shop! If you enjoy history, wine, food and lovely atmosphere, I highly recommend you spend your afternoon at Belle Meade.

We paid $61 for two people for the mansion, grounds and wine tour. The tour of the mansion was very informative and the grounds were beautiful. All the employees were very nice and helpful. We ordered a cheese platter after our wine tasting and was surprised at how much food they gave us. We spent an hour walking the park like grounds. A little expensive, but a nice way to spend a few hours.

I enjoyed this. Home is lovingly maintained. Tour is interesting even if they don’t address slavery very much. Grounds are nice to stroll around. I recommend using their guided tour app for the grounds.

Wonderful experience with something for everyone, great tour guide, wine and bourbon tasting, history, beautiful home and grounds.

I took my 3 grandchildren ages 5, 10, and 10 years for the family tour of the Mansion. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and kept my grandchildren interested during the whole tour. The art projects at the end of the tour was an added bonus. I recommend this tour for anyone with children.

This is a wonderful way to unwind after a few nights on Broadway. The tour was very informative and the wine tasting is a nice bonus. We enjoyed some time on the veranda afterward listening to live music while enjoying a few more glasses of wine. Really stunning scenery!

An interesting slice of history. Walking tour around the historic mansion with stories of the early inhabitants and the fighting in and around the property.

We stopped for a tour of Belle Meade on our way into Nashville. We didn't have reservations but tickets were available when we arrived. Our guide provided a very thorough and interesting tour of the mansion along with the history of the family and the horse racing business in Tennessee. Afterwards, there was a short wine tasting.
The grounds around the mansion are also very nice with several historic buildings.
We recommend this attraction

We are from England and absolutely loved the tour of the mansion. Andie our guide was fun and interesting and we were totally engaged in the history of the mansion and the generations of the family and their stories. Seeing the rooms as they were was fascinating and walking down a staircase that a President walked down was so cool! This place is definitely worth a visit and the complimentary wine tasting was a really great end to a wonderful afternoon.

I really enjoyed this tour. Our guide Ben was very informative. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. We didn’t realize at the end of our tour we would have a free wine tasting. So that was a treat.

We throughly enjoyed this informative and emotional tour. We learned a lot of information which we never knew before. We would highly recommend this tour.

The docent was informative and very enthusiastic about the mansion and the history of the property. The tour of the mansion was wonderful.
The wine tasting afterward was OK. It was rushed and the hosts were not enthusiastic to share information on the wines - connecting the dots to the history, etc. I left with more questions than answers and I felt we were a little rushed through the tasting. It's under an hour for the tour and the tasting.

Great informative tour! Tour guide was knowledgeable and and pace of tour was perfect. We were left with a real sense of the battles around Nashville and who the key players were.

Tom was a great guide. He was attentive and informative. The grounds were well worth exploring. Very interesting history shared with us.

Following lunch, on Jan. 27th, we toured the Belle Meade Historic Site and Winery. Of the three mansions that we toured in Nashville, this was the most expensive and the least interesting, although still worth touring (to us, at least). Like The Hermitage, no photography was allowed in the house. The tour did include a wine tasting but the samples were small and we found the wine both very expensive and not to our taste.
In the mid 19th century, Belle Meade encompassed roughly 5,400 acres with over a hundred enslaved persons. Today, this historic house is now operated as an attraction, museum, winery, and onsite restaurant on its 30 acres of property. Preserved original outbuildings, include the original Harding Cabin where Belle Meade began, a dairy, a gardener's house, a carriage and stable house, one of the largest smokehouses in Tennessee, and a mausoleum.
Belle Meade had many successful thoroughbred studs, including Bonnie Scotland and Enquirer, whose bloodlines long dominated racing in America. Jackson attracted international fame in 1886 by buying the stallion Iroquois to stand at stud; the horse was ranked in 1892 as the leading sire in the United States.

A wonderful informative tour. Our Guide, Meghan, did a FANTASTIC job. She did not read from a book, but added a great personal touch to the information. She was very engaging, allowed time for questions and was super fun

It was very nice and interesting. Learned about the patriarchs of the mansion. Wine tasting was good. Sampled four wines and bought one.

Very informative tour of the mansion and then you could walk the grounds yourself to see the rest of the property. It was well marked and great reading material at each exhibit. The wine tasting at the end of the tour was great. I bought 3 of the 4 wines I tasted.

We participated in the Wine and Bourbon experience with food pairings, which was both enjoyable and very informative for folks at all levels of wine/bourbon preference. Our sommelier Macon was impressive in her knowledge of wine and bourbon, her ability to teach us, and the way she tied the information back to Belle Meade and the South.
We continued our experience with the Journey to Jubilee tour led by Tom. For a difficult topic and conversation, the tour was informative, upbeat, and comfortable. More than other general tours of the grounds, this tour took a deep dive into the lives of the enslaved people at Belle Meade and their important contributions to the plantation.
We ended at the winery, where we made several purchases! Also there were multiple shops on site--something for everyone!

Enjoyed the tour of the house. I especially liked that the tour guide gave credit to the enslaved people on the plantation.

We had a wonderful time here. The grounds are beautiful! We took the Mansion tour and the Jubilee tour. Both were informative and the guides were very knowledgeable, friendly and eager to answer questions. The wine tasting was great with very good wine and the live music in the garden was an extra bonus. I highly recommend visting!

Interesting to see perspective of both sides of the property- highly recommend doing both tours here. Beautiful property and nice to have snack/beverages in between

Our tour guide was excellent and was very knowledgeable. The property is beautiful. If you Uber there, try to leave by 3 or traffic back is horrible. Their cafe also closes at 3.

A Nashville MUST-DO!!! We LOVED this!! The historic site is wonderful to walk and enjoy a glass of wine. We loved everything about our Wine & Food Pairing experience and would do it over and over again!! We visited on Friday, January 2nd, and everything was perfect. There is so much history here, so take time to explore the grounds before or after one of their exceptional Pairings or tastings!

The grounds are beautiful. Historic significance. The inside of the house is somewhat average in appearance. Wine tasting fun

Spent the morning at Belle Meade and it was wonderful!!! Melissa was our interpreter and she was amazing. She covered a very tough topic with sensitivity and grace. She was very knowledgeable, patient with questions, thorough, detailed and, obviously loved what she does.

My family thoroughly enjoyed this tour. It was a slow paced walk and we spent a good amount of time at each location. The tour guide was super knowledgeable about Belle Meade and was happy to answer all questions. Belle Meade certainly has a rich history - I’d love to come back for a different tour as well. The grounds are beautiful and the property has been well maintained. I highly recommend!

Our tour guide (a self proclaimed introvert🙂) was great, very knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and the wine tasting!

The tour plus tasting were a great value. It’s $20 just to get a grounds pass and only an extra $8 for the mansion tour too. Our tour guide Jeff was knowledgeable, took his time, and answered lots of questions. I was in a walking boot during the tour and they were very accommodating throughout making sure I was offered a chair at the different stops if needed etc. It would be a great activity for all ages and levels of accessibility. The wines were great as well. I would love to go back and do one of the more in depth wine tastings next time!

Very interesting and informative, guide was awesome. The history is fascinating, love the original artifacts. Huge property, give yourself enough time to explore.

We toured Belle Meade on a Thursday. We had prebooked tickets for the 11:00AM mansion tour. Check in at the visitor center was quick and easy; you get a wristband and a map during check in. We arrived about 9:45AM to beat the heat and tour the grounds prior to our guided tour at 11:00AM. This gave us lots of time to spend in the carriage house (beautiful!) and seeing most of the other buildings. At 11:00AM, we took the mansion tour with Samantha. This was her first tour as the guide, but she was very well-prepared, very knowledgeable, and did an excellent tour. Had she not told us this was her first tour, I would have never guessed it. The house and furnishings are gorgeous; well worth the time. The grounds were well kept; we walked the approximately 1-mile trail around the grounds after our mansion tour. Regarding the complimentary wine tasting, I was a bit disappointed, but also undertand the limitations of doing a tasting for 25 people at once. We tasted 4 wines of their choosing, two of which were syrupy sweet (not our favorite). If you really want to taste the wines, you should book a special wine tasting experience. (TIP: Be one of the first people to get in the door for the tasting; only about 8-10 people can stand at the bar; the others just stand around the tasting room/gift shop floor.)

This was an amazing experience. The live music was an unexpected treat, beautiful grounds. I’m so thankful we visited!

Upon a recommendation, I booked the Wine, Bourbon & Food Pairing tasting at this historic plantation. So glad we took that advice. We checked in at the visitors center and then proceeded to a location outside to meet someone who took us to the 2nd floor of another building to a beautiful room with a table set for our group. Our sommelier & bourbon expert Laura was fantastic. She really guided us through how to taste, what food pairing went with the wine and why it was paired with a particular wine. The food was fantastic as well. The chef at Belle Meade made delicious little bites We finished with the tasting with a bourbon cocktail. Laura was so informative about the plantation, the wines and the bourbon. She impressed me with her knowledge in all areas. We had a great time at this tasting. It was nice to do something different than bar hopping on Broadway. I recommend this food pairing tasting.

We thoroughly our morning at Belle Meade. The grounds were lovely, the mansion tour beautiful and interesting, the wine tasting delicious. We purchased things at the gift shop and wines from the tasting, and toured the stables and other restored buildings as well. But the best part of our time there was definitely the meal we had at The Belle Meade Meat & Three restaurant. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. If you love Tennessee history, antiques, horses or great food and wine do visit this extraordinary place.

The historical overview was mostly from the perspective of the owners with very little input from the enslaved.
It outlined the harsh reality of slave life. It also provided a sharp contrast of the opulence of plantation ownership vs slavery, oppression, and all types of physical violence and control.

Weeekend trip to Nashville, did a bourbon tasting and had a great time. The bourbon was excellent and such a beautiful plantation.

We did a tour of the mansion house followed by wine, food and bourbon pairing. The tour was good if you like the history of these families but the wine and food pairing was really brilliant. The room was beautifully decorated and the sommelier was absolutely brilliant. Very knowledgeable and great fun. Would highly recommend.

Pleasure. Enjoyed it very much even with 11 and under children. Tour was informative. I think they should allow children to learn about the jubilee and slave waiters though.

The is a great historical place to learn about. We enjoyed walking the grounds, listening to our tour guide, and sampling a little wine.

The tour guide seemed very informed and was very enthusiastic. The tour itself was a disappointment. We only saw two floors and of course much of the area was roped off. The mansion appeared to be in really good condition. The complimentary wine tasting was a total joke. I have attended many wine tastings throughout the country and this was one of the worst I've experienced. My wife and I tried four different wines and the tastings were so incredibly minimal. Perhaps that's why the wine tasting is complimentary.

The mansion and grounds were beautiful. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and funny. My only disappointment were the number of people they allow per tour. Very difficult to move around in the rooms and look at anything due to so many people.

The mansion tour was ok, but I was so disappointed by their no pictures policy. They said flashes would harm the antiques. Fine….so tell everyone to turn off their flash feature. It’s not complicated. Im sorry, but if you pay that amount of money, you should be entitled to picture memories.

This amazing historical mansion is a gift to the community with fascinating details about the families and beginnings of Nashville. We were excited to learn about the struggles and lifestyle of early civil war Nashville. Your guide KELSEY filled our hearts and minds with stories from long ago. She made the tour fascinating to us. It was so special to learn the creation of this unbelievable mansion loved since the early 1800’s. Thank you KELSEY!

We had an awesome experience visiting these gorgeous grounds. Our tour guide Dallas was so knowledgeable and shared great stories and answered many questions along the way. Would highly recommend!!

A must-see if you're in the Nashville area. A rare glimpse of what life was like before, during, and after the Civil War and well worth the time to see. The tour was well organized and the wine tasting offered some great choices of local vintages. Make sure you try the brisket after the tour in the restaurant part of the estate.

This was excellent! The appetizer that was prepared by Executive Chef Stephen Krueger, was scrumptious and gourmet; it went well with the wines. Maddy, our sommelier, was knowledgeable in both the wine and history of Belle Meade Mansion. We are locals and can’t believe we haven’t done this before! Great gift idea!

The history and renegade history was great. Love learning about local lore and facts and the guide did a great job distinguishing between the two. Saved all the names and stories mentioned to dig into at a later time.

The tour of a mansion was very informative. It was interesting to see how people used to live there in luxury. We enjoyed beautiful grounds and great wine.

Great tour. Beautiful grounds! We enjoyed it! Recommend this tour if visiting Nashville! Complimentary wine tasting was a nice finish

We really enjoyed the mansion tour. Dallas was an amazing tour guide sharing the history of the families that lived there and the property. Mansion is well taken care of. The add-on wine tasting with no extra charge was very enjoyable.

A great and interesting tour. Beautiful property. Interesting history. Tom did a great job. Recommend for older
Children.

The tour of the home was enlightening and informative for us as visitors. Melissa had excellent knowledge of its history and was a great guide.

Our tour guide was a young lady who was seriously into history and a dimension to the narrative not normally seen in other venues.

Very informational tour! We also enjoyed the wine tasting! Dallas did a great job as our tour guide. If we are ever back in TN we will have to do another tour. Highly recommend!

We had an excellent time. Olivia was an excellent host and tour guide, she was extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions.

This was such a relaxing time away from the hustle of the city. There is a lot of ground to cover for this historical landmark. The tour guide we had for the mansion was very knowledgeable and had a great presence for this type of work. The inside of the mansion is beautiful and something out of this lifetime. Don't expect to take pictures indoors, so take the moments to look at all the things! The sampling includes 4 wines. We opted to buy a bottle to enjoy around the grounds as we walked around. We also had a sandwich at the café which was very good. Overall, great experience! Don't forget to check out the horses!

Interesting place, very respectful of their history. Beautiful mansion, although most of the gorgeous antiques are not original to the estate.

Great place to visit, really interesting history, amazing grounds and buildings, lots of great history here. Our tour guide Tom was excellent, very knowledgeable on the history of the place and answered a lot of questions. We sampled the great tasting wines and also stayed to eat there as well, great visit.

Very interesting tour with a great guide. Good wine after. Great way to spend a couple hrs out of the downtown area. Highly recommend

My sisters and I originally came for the winery but stayed for hours. We absolutely loved the cafeteria style lunch of pulled pork and veggie sides, then joined the Mansion tour, learning all about the family who created Belle Meade and the horses they raised.
We enjoyed the wine tasting experience, but not necessarily the wines…
We enjoyed walking the grounds and reading all the informative signs

We enjoyed the tour and the stories. The lack of facts and documentation surprised me. The farm was a stud farm and not a crop farm so perhaps less typical. Also only a very few of the slaves were mentioned due to lack of documentation. The guide had strong feelings on the subject and did her best to bring it alive for us. Well done.

I highly recommend this tour. It is very informative and interesting. Our guide Melissa was knowledgeable and passionate about the slave history of Belle Meade, and engaged us in the conversation. The grounds are absolutely stunning (it was a cool sunny day) with 30 acres to explore. Some of us toured the mansion after this and it was interesting, but not nearly as interesting as the Jubilee tour even though our tour guide was just as good. Wine tasting was a nice way to end. All the staff there is cheerful and willing to help.

So picturesque, even in the rain! The tour was wonderful and the cocktails were amazing. So many great places on the property to just slow down and sit and relax.

Very large and beautiful property. Andi did our tour and I felt like I really got a good feel for the families who resided there. The wine tasting was well done. We both enjoyed the sweeter wines. Would recommend this tour for everyone.

Great tour! Very detailed oriented and friendly tour guides. You are given a well rounded historical view of the enslaved and what their lives were like.

Loved hearing the history behind this historic site. Grateful for the woman who had the vision to preserve this piece of American history. So many original pieces to the home

This was a peaceful and lovely tour, the grounds are beautiful. Some amazing History here! They no longer call it a 'Plantation" but it clearly was, back in the day.

Our guide Cody shared the history of the home and was amusing and friendly. The pace of the tour was good, we had ample time to look at each room.

Very nice tour its a time entry but after manison tour you toured the property at your leisure very nice tour the wine tasting was included.
The stables were interesting weather was nice to stroll the property and fall foliage was very nice. The cafe was good and gift shop had some odd things.

Husband and I took this tour. It was a beautiful mansion but the grounds were even nice and loved the wine tasting event! There were 4 wines to taste and we ended up buying a bottle of the signature wine. There were also some very interesting chocolates in the wine shop. Lunch could be had on the premises and the grounds tour is self guided. Wear comfortable shoes

Beautiful grounds. Every employee was friendly, courteous and helpful.
Tour of the mansion was so very interesting. The young man who was our guide did a great job and answered all of our questions in great detail. Even our grandkids had a good time.

Very much enjoyed the mansion tour! It was interesting to hear about the history. Beautiful grounds! And we found some wines we liked also!

Tom was an exceptional tour guide. He is well spoken, friendly, and informative. We were blown away by his passion for Bellemeade and commitment to sharing its rich history. If you are looking for an eye-opening, thought-provoking, interactive experience, I highly recommend the Journey to Jubilee tour. Tom, thank you for sharing your passion with us and allowing us to ask questions, ponder thoughts and learn openly!

Great experience. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Would highly recommend! Loved the history and at the end the wine tasting led me to buy 3 bottles. The wine was delicious. We also ate in the restaurant and everything was delicious. Can’t say enough how much fun we had.

Thoroughly enjoyed this tour! Lots of history, very interesting. Our tour guide was excellent. This is a must-see if you are into history and horse racing! Not able to take pics inside, but got a lot of the grounds. Beautiful area, lots of majestic magnolias!!

The historical significance of Belle Meade is enough to make you want to go even if you are a casual history buff.
If going to Nashville a must see.

Wonderful time at a wine pairing and tasting event. Laura was a charming host, and the food was really great. The wines are also very good, with the Gentlemen's Blend Red a really spectacular wine. We spent time on the grounds after our tasting, enjoying the Carriage House, Smokehouse and pasture with the two horses.

This is a beautifully restored home with many furnishings and decor original to the home. The grounds are wonderfully peaceful and there are several small buildings on the grounds to give you a sense of that era. Our tour guide was great, giving just the right amount of detail.

Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We felt like we stepped back in time! Would definitely recommend experiencing this place. We enjoyed the wine tasting after our tour!

The tour guide talked really fast and we were not told like we were last time about the horses being hidden and since you can’t take pictures inside we were lead out the side door and we’re not reminded to grab a picture in front. So we literally didn’t get many pictures at this experience

Informative. I appreciated seeing the historical points related to enslaved persons on the Belle Meade estate, and was eager to learn of their reality, but I didn't find the interactive learning questions and dialogue pushed by the docent helpful.

Every single person on this property was sweet and accommodating! We did a wine, bourbon, and food pairing with a mansion tour. Becky was a font of knowledge! I could listen to her all day! We spent 4 hours there and loved every minute!

Excellent tour-informative and interesting! Beautiful rooms reflecting age of mansion! Wine tasting was fun! A must-do for sure!

We really enjoyed our tour! Our guide was funny and knowledgeable, and we really enjoyed hearing the history of horse racing and all about the family that made it popular. The wine tasting finale was an excellent touch. Well done. More impressive is the ongoing challenge of recovering heirlooms! The home looks full and what I'd imagine would be pretty close. Lastly, awesome gift shop.

We actually did the food and wine pairing tasting experience. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The property was beautiful. The wine was unique and had some great options. The only downside is they don’t produce wine on site.

Loved the history. The mansion was beautiful. Our guide was darling. The only drawback was that she spoke a little too fast and not quite loud enough. But overall a very enjoyable experience.

My wife and I are from tx. We love history. Tegan did an excellent job. The story is sad and ultimately some redemption. The fact that history will be gone without support is discouraging. Grounds are gorgeous and all staff so kind
We were very rushed and they stressed over and over that they close at 5:00. The wine tasting was hardly even a taste and we were rushed through it. The speaker needs to wear a microphone and speak at a slower rate. Not impressed although the mansion is something to see.
