The tour guides tried to incorporate kids where possible which I think made the experience more fun for families. Overall, if you have an hour and want to learn some history this is a decently entertaining and informative one.

This place has a very interactive and fun museum, very much neccessary if you're doing any historic visits in Boston. Throwing the tea into the harbor is a very fun experience for everyone that I saw do it. Tea afterwards and snacks are reasonably priced and good, seating can be sparse.

An excellent tour with a bit of audience participation! Really good fun, with very enthusiastic guides. This is what started the the war of independence, which I didn’t know. Would highly recommend this tour!

I saw something saying this was voted one of the best museums in America and thought "yeah, right". Well, this was, in fact, a very cool experience. You are lead through different events leading up to the Tea Party and the start of the Revolutionary War lead by a costumed guided. Ours was awesome staying in character the entire time. The videos are really well done, the rooms and boats nice new and shiny, and look period. The artifacts were more than I had expected to see - I won't give it away, but very cool stuff! This is not a museum where you are set free to roam, but it really took some time going room to room or "scene to scene".... After having done all of the Freedom Trail, this was great because I did not have to read anything.... I know lazy, but it was nice having a full refresher of a history lesson given this way. We even got to throw "tea" in the river, had a tea tasting and pastry afterward in the "tea room", and then enjoyed their really nice gift shop - not your run of the mill junk. This was worth the money and I would totally do it again. My tween and teen also really enjoyed it.

Great family experience! The actors and staff were top notch and made the experience so memorable. We loved hearing about the history of the Boston tea party and the interactive experience.

This was so fun, Moses was perfect in costume and had us all laughing. I highly recommend this tour for families and for adults. It was worth the cost as we all learned of the tea party!

The initial introduction at the start was poorly executed and long winded. The actual boat, for me, a waste of time, nothing to see in the boat and the theatrical drama of tossing boxes into the water was poor and not entertaining. The only good part was the 3rd exhibition with the talking portraits and the last movie theatre clip summarising the start of the revolution.

The interactive experience was very engaging. The information about the lead up to the Revolution was well presented and kept my 12 year old granddaughter very interested. Highly recommend.

I have to admit I was hesitant about doing the museum experience as an adult. I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy it or if it would be too cheesy. A few minutes in, my worries were assuaged. The actors were very talented, convincing, and enthusiastic. Enjoyed the audience participation. The history shared was fascinating. I loved that you receive a card for a person involved when you enter and get to learn about them. Throwing tea overboard was also so fun! Not to mention the artifacts in the museum. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend for all ages!

This tour has been one of my favorites I loved the acting/characters and the museum my kids and I learned a lot. Thank you.

Great way for kids and adults to learn about the Boston Tea Party and the beginning of the American Revolution. You get to board a ship and throw "tea" overboard. Live actors narrate. Dress warmly- the wind off the bay is chilly!!

Good experience sufficient history to make it interesting but not too long. Actors were good and informative. Tearoom was lovely.

It is interesting but it is also really well done as an experience in a different way with new ways to interact and present the story. You wont regret doing this I assure you

We feared this was going to be a bit cheesy, but it was so well done, the actors were really engaging and we came away with a much better understanding of the events leading up to, during and after the Boston Tea
party. The children on the tour seemed to love it. Would highly recommend.

This was the best thing I did in my 3 days in Boston. The presentation was top notch and the audience was involved as Patriots wanting to dump the tea. It was a lot of fun.

Without a doubt the absolute best. I e been to a lot of places for 49 years old. This beats them all without a doubt!!!! Participation, air conditioning, on a boat, in the sun it just has everything!!!

We had a great time at the museum! It's interactive and was very interesting. I do wish there would have been more time to read the information outside though.

Enjoyable way to learn the history of the Boston Teaparty. The actors brought lots of energy, telling the story but could have done to speak slower .

Decent historical context with actors playing roles and a couple of interesting presentations making for a decent visit - tea chucking a little cheesy by heyho

Educational and Entertaining. Our guide was fantastic, gift shop loaded with souvenirs. We had a great time throwing the tea off the ship.

Really entertaining and rather fun. We are given cards of people who were a part of the Boston Tea Party, and the ships are replicas of the actual ships. The only problem is that the things that I actually wanted to take a picture of, I wasn't allowed to take a photo of, so it kinda sucked on that part.

This was really fun to learn about. The actors were funny, informative, entertaining and amusing. The tea in Abigail’s tea room was tasty, and the rooms we went through were well designed, definitely recommend if you’re in the area.

We really enjoyed this experience. The actors were fun and engaging. The history was accurate and presented in a compelling way. Even our 11 year old enjoyed it! I declined to give 5 stars because it was just too expensive. $120 for 2 adults and 2 kids. I’d say it’s worth a max of $25 per adult/$10 per kid

The experience was awesome. The young men and women who were our tour guides were so knowledgeable in American history which made for an enjoyable experience. We throughly enjoyed our tour.

Absolutely wonderful! The actors were superb, allowing you to feel the emotions of the people they portrayed. Getting the audience involved in the role play added an additional piece that made this your most memorable!

A visit to this original museum takes you into the heart of the history of American independence. Thanks to costumed characters who play the part of independence rioters you are fully involved in the reconstruction of the events that led to the birth of the USA.
The presentation of historical facts and places is very accurate, also thanks to the beautiful ship and the captivating and very beautiful videos from a graphic point of view.
You can't avoid throwing fake packs of tea overboard!

This was an interesting experience and we enjoyed it. Learned different perspectives on the Boston tea party and it made for a meaningful experience.

The actor portrayals and the guided tour through the museum made the whole experience very enjoyable. We learned a lot and had a wonderful afternoon.

We visited this museum with a group of 9 ranging in age from 7 to young adult and older adults. We all found this experience to be a great way to learn about the Boston Tea Party and its role in American history. The actors are very good and enthusiastic, the experience on the ship is fun and interactive (even on a rainy day) and the multimedia portion of the experience is also very enlightening. We learned a lot and had fun doing it, always a good combination.

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum was much more of an experience than we had anticipated. It was awesome and we truly enjoyed the experience!!

Fun and informative tour. The tea tasting was interesting . Be prepared to experience the time leading up to the boston tea party. And if you are tall, remember to duck when you enter the ship's hold.

I really enjoyed this tour, however, everything felt very rushed. We did not get as much time as I would have liked on the boat. We also did not get enough time to read all of the artifacts in the museum. An extra 10 minutes at each location would have been sufficient to complete everything in depth. It felt as if they were just shuffling us from room to room.

This is more of a tour of a replica tea party boat and walking thru various film rooms. One room with an original tea crate was it for artifacts. I think the whole thing lasted an hour. We were quite disappointed at the end when you had to pay for a tasting of the teas dumped over which we felt should’ve been included in the ticket cost. Not sure I would recommend this place.

We did this tour the same afternoon of the Freedom Trail. It paired greatly. The characters and the town hall meeting and throwing the tea overboard all was a great experience- we thoroughly enjoyed it! We felt like we were part of the experience!

We really enjoyed our vist it was fun you are even given a new identity and theres a nice cafe with different teas to try
HUZZAH HUZZAH HUZZAH HUZZA

We had a great time and the crew did an amazing job. The opportunity to taste teas from that period was the cherry on top. However, I would say this was less of a museum and more of a historical story telling experience. They had very few historical relics.

Probably one of my favorite things we did in Boston. The tour guides do a fantastic job playing their parts. You learn a lot about the Boston Tea Party but it is done in a way that is entertaining and engaging, not boring at all. This is truly how history should be taught! I highly recommend for all ages.

I am wary of tours especially with young kids. I have to say this tour was worth every penny. They were so good with the kids. They learned a lot but were never bored. Loved the theatrics with it and the small bit of role play. Creative and the staff were all out to make sure you had a nice time.

We were interested in learning more about Boston tea party. Staff was very good at playing their parts and made it very interesting. We enjoyed all parts of the experience. I would recommend this to all

Felt our tour was rushed and pushed through for what seemed like a slow day -- an off-season Tuesday. I would've liked to have more time to read the signage. Honestly thought we would get to tour both ships that were there, the Eleanor and the Brig Beaver. If they told us, I didn't hear why there isn't a Dartmouth? The museum contained very little -- essentially only the Robinson tea chest and a vial of supposed tea from the Boston Tea Party. Quite a large gift shop, but was disappointed to find that items on display in their window were no longer for sale in the shop. I was very much interested in a little pink wooden tea box with flowers on it that read "Robinson Tea Chest Afternoon Tea, Boston Tea Party 1773" on the top. There were at least six in their window case, but neither of the sales associates I spoke with seemed to indicate they could or would sell anything out of the window case. So I left a bit disheartened.

Absolutely Amazing!! The Tour was Professional and Very Informative! Everyone was in character and we felt like we went back in time!! Being part of throwing the tea overboard was lots of fun followed by Abigails Tea Room, delicious tea!! You won't be disappointed with this tour!!!!

The tour was great and interactive for kids gave it a 4 out of 5 because it did seemed rushed and could have allowed for more time for people with little kids that enjoy getting to throw the tea

Crazy expensive (38 dollars). In the end, you won't have learned anything about the Boston Tea Party, and you won't even be sure you will have some fun, honestly. The only interesting part is the short movie at the end about Lexington, but it does not match the ticket price (and it is quite inaccurate). If you are a nerd of the American Revolution, like me, and you are tempted to go, think twice. If you are not very interested in the American Revolution, don't go!

Very expensive. More melodrama than historic. A wast of time. Hard to hear. Rushed through due to timing of next tour. Worst thing I did in boston.

I enjoyed it thoroughly. It’s interactive, fun, gives a lot of history and experience. Worth a visit If say especially after going get freedom trail.

Our experience at the Boston Tea Party Museum was extremely disappointing due to poor communication and an inability to accommodate a simple issue. At the ticket counter, I clearly stated we had eight people and even asked for clarification about age cutoffs for adult and child tickets. I was only charged for five tickets, and at no point was I told I needed to purchase additional ones. I could not have been more clear in communicating our group size.
When we arrived at the entrance for the tour, the staff scanned our tickets and only allowed five of us in, leaving three members of our group—including children—stranded outside. The staff member at the entrance offered no immediate solution other than rescheduling us for a tour an hour later or giving us a full refund. This is after we had waited over an hour for our scheduled time.
Speaking further with Josh, Hollie, and a supervisor only confirmed that the museum has no flexibility or procedures in place to resolve issues in real time. This left my family—visiting from out of town—with a frustrating and disappointing experience that negatively impacted our visit to Boston.
This situation could have been avoided with better communication at the ticket counter and a little more empowerment for staff to handle problems as they arise. Instead, we were left feeling dismissed and disappointed.
Please understand that if you choose to visit the Boston tea party museum, that you clearly identify how many tickets you need and you don’t leave the counter without a ticket for each individual person.
Standard canned response will illustrate the importance of customer service.

We all enjoyed the education of the reenactment. The staff was easy to understand and follow. There was 3 of us in my party. We had a super great time.

We were pleasantly surprised by the authenticness and factual presentation by the museum. The addition of the before and after presentations ( of the actual boarding the ship) were well done and informative. They have a wonderful gift shop with a variety of items at different price points.

A fun interactive experience. You have tour guides for the 1 hour tour. A little pricey but once I was in the tour I realized why.

Thoroughly enjoyed this live action view of history. The actors were excellent and recreated the environment perfectly. The short films with actual historical dialogue were great.

Very nice to experience: how did the Boston Tea Party go. Fun for children and adults. And typical American approach.

We had a wonderful experience. I think everyone should do this when they are in Boston. It’s just part of the start of our history and our liberty. Love the actors portrayal of the characters and the crowd interaction and participation they include as part of the act. And you get to try the 5 different types of teas that were actually thrown into the harbor during the actual event. Was so great!!!

I t was a great trip on my first ever trip with a great best friend to Boston. The Boston Tea Party event was well done by all participants!

Informative interactive experience. The "patriots" are in character throughout and audience participation makes it enjoyable and a learning event. The use of the ship, the film segments and the talking portraits keeps your attention so you get the educational value. Abigails Tea Room is delightful and the gift shop is reasonable priced.

Great museum and re-enactment. Tour guides really participated and did a great job. Even adults lined up to toss the tea bales off the ship. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I’m slightly mobility limited and I was able to navigate the paths (only steps were at the end and an elevator was available. Very well done.

This was an excellent experience! It was a beautiful museum and the tour guides were excellent. I highly recommend this museum!

Such a fun experience that brought history to life! Went with a mixed age group, and everyone enjoyed it. The cast never broke character and did a great job of guiding our group. There were interesting facts, laughs, and lots of interactivity.

I wasn’t sure what to expect; however, the Boston Tea Party tour was informative but also a lot of fun. I loved the first part in the meeting hall with the costumed actors who bring the story of the Boston Tea Party to life - it was fun & interactive. The visit on the ship to simulate the protest was also good, but we felt that this point of the tour was very rushed. We watched a short film that provided context to the protests which was interesting. All in all a very good tour which I would recommend.

This is a bit over-rated and over-priced in my opinion but nevertheless was enjoyable and informative. The interactive element was fun and the "tour guides" are actors in disguise.
The historical element is prominent and well done.
The "live" life-size videos with the historical characters was an excellent presentation.
I really enjoyed it and came away feeling much more knowledgable about how the American revolution began.

It’s a place with history where I felt like I was a part of that time…
One hour of show with good performance and presentation.

So it's not a traditional museum with plenty of exhibits or paintings, but it sure is a fun experience with costumed actors, interesting story-telling, talking paintings, re-enactments, and the defiant act of throwing the tea overboard from the deck of the ship makes for a very good hour spent in Boston. Highly recommended.

The tour was fun and informative. The 2 women who headed the tour did a wonderful job and were I. Character the entire time. They shared the history in a fun way. Highly recommend.

While at a History teachers’ conference, my colleagues and I visited this museum. It was such a great experience!! Our guides never broke character, interacted with the guests, and greatly added to the positive experience. Audience members got to have roles and interact during the town hall meeting, where we got all riled up against taxation without representation! Then we got to chuck tea boxes in the harbor while a very animated and funny young lady spoke and encouraged our rabble rousing. The whole experience was very well done and well worth the money. I can’t wait to go back and bring my kids!

This was brilliant,Lasted about and hour or so but explained the Boston tea party in a really fun and interactive way.A live performance from actors who explained things perfectly.Everyone was allowed to join in in and it was great.I was good as not much walking involved and plenty of places to sit down.Of all the tours and things to do in Boston this is definitely worth a try,you wont be dissapointed

Such a great experience. Parts of the museum are free but it’s worth it to pay and get the full experience. Tour is done by colonial characters. You’re assigned a “sons of liberty” person to be. Fun interactive.
And you can stop for tea!

very informative and fun at the same time. for everyone of all ages. the tour guides were great in telling of the history of the Boston Tea Party!

Great tour and very informative and interactive. Kids enjoyed the reenactments of throwing the tea in the harbor and steering the ship.

Between this and Fenway Park tour were our favorite things we did in Boston. It’s very educational and our kids loved it. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting

The Sons of Liberty dressed as Indians dumped the tea. This exhibit has replaced the Sons of Liberty with the Daughters of Liberty, but they were not present during dumping. Also there were no reenactors dressed as Indians, and worse, they completely omitted any mention of the original Sons of Liberty being dressed as Indians. It's sad they are trying re-write history.

this tour is only suitable for children / families not adults. Completely facile and lacking in subtlety or fairness between the opposing parties.

Great experience, even though I’m English!
A great visit with some great characters, I threw my own English tea into the harbour!
Well worth a visit.

What fun the team that work here made this; all while teaching us all about History, why all of this was and IS so important and how it was about more than tossing tea in the harbor. They never break character, they are all well informed and can answer questions while making learning for young and old fun. As a side note, do not miss getting an iced tea before leaving - I need to find out which tea they brew and sell because it was so very delicious!

I loved the interaction and everyone in costume playing a part of history! I highly recommend this tour. My husband was bummed that he had to miss it.

We thoroughly enjoyed this museum and tour. The tour guides were awesome! The interactive nature of the whole tour was so fun. We enjoyed the tea room as well. The whole experience lasted about an hour and half.

Very entertaining and educational. The staff stayed in character and kept us all engaged. We cheered along and got to throw "tea" into the harbor. It was a perfect way to spend time in Boston learning and having a lot of fun!

Really fun way to learn about the Boston tea party. Took the kids and we all had a lot of fun. It starts with a mock meeting to discuss the tariffs and then a walk to the ship where everyone gets to toss tea. A museum with artifacts and clever presentations. It’s a must do.

The Boston Tea Party museum was a fun activity to do while in Boston. The re-enactors made it interesting, interactive and fun. They museum had a couple of special effects that were very neat. The activity lasts for about an hour. They also have veteran's discounts. Bought most of my souvenirs for back home from their gift shop. A few of the activities are on the (docked) boats, so make sure you are dressed for the weather.

Loved the actors and how interactive it was.
Loved the way the museum worked - being guided through the different areas and following the story of the Boston tea party.

Yes, it is "touristy" and yes my wife and her family wanted to do it, and yes, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
They guides dressed in period costumes and in character made this both an informative experience and enjoyable.

What a fun museum! My family was totally eating up the period re-enactments, and we had a ton of fun and left feeling happy and patriotic :) The actors really animated and sweet, and we learned many historical facts about the tea party. I'm really glad I tried the tea sampler in Abigail's Tea House, where you can sample the five teas that were thrown overboard. That was my main interest in going, but the museum was so much more fun than I expected.

Theater on the water. That's what we experienced in this well put-together performance. From the sidewalk arrival to the performances in the "meeting house" to the tossing of the tea, the whole experience was well thought-out, well orchestrated, well timed, and much enjoyed. The actors were terrific! The script was humorous yet informative, and the costumes great. I would recommend this to anyone. We enjoyed ourselves and learned a lot!

We had an excellent time participating and learning our history on this short but informative tour! Would highly recommend it!

My husband and I agreed that this tour was one of the best tours, if not THE BEST tour, we have ever taken. It was both informative and engaging and held the attention of guests of a wide range of ages. The mingled use of traditional reenactment and technological enhancements felt natural and enhanced the presentation. A reasonable length and a good value for the price. We highly recommend this tour.

Absolutely loved it. 10/10 for the young actors who were so engaging, well done to them. One of the best immersive experiences we've done, highly recommend - not to be missed

We thought this would just be about dropping some pretend tea bales in the water, but it was so much more. Through talking portraits, theater presentations and actor interactions, I learned a ton about the Boston Tea Party and Boston at that time.

If you want to understand American history, and have fun while doing it, then this is the tour/event for you! An absolutely amazing tour guide (Goodey Hughes) took us through the events prior to, and up through an important event in our country’s history. She was simply amazing!

We enjoyed the way the history was presented in live performance as well as holographic type artistry. It was fun throwing the “tea” overboard. My 17 year old grandson and I both thought it was quite fun and informative.

We had a great time at the Boston Tea Party Ships. The actors did a fantastic job and were informative. We had a hiccup with our schedule and had to change our time. The staff was helpful and helped us work it out. Would recommend.

Very Efficient group of actors, repeating policies, interacting with customers, staying g in character, helping people check in, directing the crowd through. Best experience at a museum/interacting live theatre, and I’ve been an actor in an immersive experience. Very professional in every way. Gift shop staff right on top of answering questions also.

The characters were incredible! Loved the experience and highly recommend if you’re visiting or a native. Pay attention to the chicken. We’re not sure why but it seemed very important.

After a long plane ride the day before this was our first stop in Boston. It was well done and I would recommend this to anyone young or old. It gave a great overview to the tea party.

Great experience, the show was super fun, our guide Tim was very entertaining and gave a great performance; he also made everyone feel included and was extremely friendly. The museum was pretty interesting and has some cool artifacts as well. I could tell the guides actually care about the history here. The tea parlor at the end perfectly wraps it up and is very relaxing. Highly recommend!

I had been before and really enjoyed. I wanted to share it with my grandmother who has never visited Boston before l. We had a fantastic time! Our guide was a a joy to watch and learn from!

This is an excellent tour. The tourists become part of the reenactment of the fateful night of the Boston tea party and the historical trigger that eventually led to the revolutionary war. The tour guides are dressed in period dress, and play the parts of actual participants of the tea party. It is interesting, fun. It is very worth the ticket price to see this!

I loved the interactive experience of the tour! You're given a role card and taught a few time period appropriate phrases. The tour underneath the ship and after the tea throwing leads to another portion that fuses technology with history in story telling to help everyone truly appreciate this important time in history.
Don't sleep on this tour!

This was better than expected! Once you start the tour, you literally become a character from the era and learn about who that character was in Boston society. The tour guides make this event incredibly entertaining and are very knowledgeable. You get to taste the teas drunk during that period and can purchase these among others from the gift shop.

The employees were fantastic storytellers and excelled at getting the audience to engage while educating us on the history of events.

We had a great time. Tour well done. The o nly thing that could have been better was more seating when the lecturer spoke. SPEAKERS WERE VERY INFORMATIVE.

I visited with my mother (78) and we both had a great time. It’s immersive from the get so whether anyone is aware of the history or not you are drawn into the story and the time it took place. It’s under 2 hours so it’s comfortable to take in and for my mother it was definitely old age friendly as she had opportunities to sit. Well worth it.

What a fun experience! Had some detailed acted out history lessons. We got to play in part of Boston Tea Party. The museum was great.

It was great. Characters were awesome and the information was given using several different ways which made it more interesting! 🥰.

Didn’t know what to expect but I found this highly entertaining and a great tour. The actors bring the whole period it covers to life and being from England, to be honest, our knowledge about this period leading up to the Independence War is very limited. It is not taught in schools and is never talked about so most Brits are oblivious to what happened but the whole tour is very knowledgeable and I fully enjoyed it!

Awesome experience! The tea party was so informative. A must do in the area. One of the funnest things we did all week. We enjoyed the interactive skit, throwing the tea in and sampling the tea!

It’s a nice time but make sure you visit Tea Room and facilities before tour if you’re taking last tour because everything there will close after last tour.
They kinda do a mock tea party thing ala Richmond Town where actors dress up in colonial clothes and do reenactments like town hall and actual tossing tea into water. It is also part information tour as they will get out of their actor roles and act as tour guides.
A lot of later parts are somewhat boring because it’s just watching documentaries on the screen.
They have a fun poster of all the names of guests as accomplices to tea throwing, however, my name was not there :(
I’m not sure if it was all worth it because it was pretty pricey and other than going onto an actual ship, just not much going on. I was gonna go to Fenway Park Tour instead of this and thinking that might have been better but I cud be wrong. On another note, I discovered a beautiful steakhouse nearby with amazing ambiance, better than its flagship location in NYC.

Our visit to the Boston Tea Party Museum was hands down one of the highlights of our trip! As a family of five with kids ranging from elementary to high school, it can be tough to find something that entertains and educates everyone — but this hit the mark perfectly.
The experience is so much more than a typical museum. The live reenactments were incredibly well done — the actors brought the events of 1773 to life with an engaging mix of history and humor that had both the kids and adults laughing and learning at the same time. Throwing tea into the harbor was a huge hit with our kids (and let’s be honest, the adults too!).
The interactive exhibits, immersive storytelling, and passionate guides made us feel like we were right in the middle of history. Even our teenager — who’s usually hard to impress — said it was “actually really cool.”
Highly recommend for any family visiting Boston. You’ll walk away entertained, enlightened, and maybe even ready to start your own revolution!

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. It shown the concerns of the times. The involvement of the people and audience was great.

This theater show was done so well, it reminded me of performances done by Disney! The actors and actresses were fabulous! Their reenactment was animated, engaging and entertaining! I loved how they pulled the audience in and made us part of the entire experience. They never broke character. You start at the “Meeting House”, where you get your character role, to the ship, where you explore the ship and throw tea boxes over, to several animated theater rooms. It was funny and educational. One thing I would have done differently is the Freedom Trail first. I would have appreciated all I learned through the show even more, if possible. Another thing you must try (even if you don’t dine in the restaurant) is the unlimited types of tea (from the Tea Party) in the restaurant area. The paper cup is like $5, or you can get the take home mug version for about $10. It was something I will always remember. I highly recommend.

Such a fun experience, loved the history and interaction . Lots of history and fun to have.
Abigail’s tearoom was lovely , got to try the different teas from the era and yummy scones.

Of all of the Boston activities we did, this was my favorite. Why? 1). It was informative; 2) it was heavily interactive—you start in a town hall/church reliving and reenacting the final night; 3) you get to see and walk through a replica of the exact ship moored in the harbor; 4). There’s even more interactivity after #1 — #3!
Worth the time and expense, folks!

Blew us away how fun this way. Kids still talking about it days later. Way above my expectations and highly recommend. I give it a here here and well said (you’ll get that comment if you go).

Excellent the tour. I loved the actors. The actors moving in the pictures were great. I thought it was amazing. Would recommend it to others

A bit rushed since the audio visual is on a timer. Technically outstanding. Staff when they get in the role can be a bit hard to understand. When you get in the last room there is no time to look in depth at the props. The last surviving box and a vial of tea leaves that turned into tea and a book with a magnifying glass.
Throwing of 'tea boxes' is a joke. And you have to haul them back in after you throw them over. My group was not impressed by this.
Store is the usual touristy glitzy stuff.

This was excellent! The perfect mix of history, entertainment, and reenactment! I would definitely go again. Our guide “Peter” was excellent…highly recommend this tour!

Very informative and great staff interaction. I LOVED the gift shop (but that's me). We really enjoyed it. Get there early to reserve a time slot. They do sell out. It is touristy, but since we were tourists that was ok with us.

What a fantastic museum! The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum makes history so engaging with amazing costumed characters who really bring the story to life. You feel like you're actually there in 1773!
The interactive elements are brilliant - from participating in the famous tea dumping to exploring the replica ships. The actors stay completely in character and make it fun for all ages. I learned so much more than I expected and was thoroughly entertained the whole time.

The highlight of our entire Boston trip! Our guide, Thomas Chase, made the tour so incredible! He was super informative, funny, and kept us engaged. Great tour, the best tour guides, and the best time - we will absolutely be coming back!

Felt it was a bit expensive. $33 a person w/ our military discount. We’re in Boston, don’t plan to return so why not. I really enjoy the narration. The actors were very engaging. We had a lot of photo opportunities. I like how the group was included in the narrative. They really know how to engineer this exhibit. At the end of the museum you will ended up in the Abigail tea shop where you can purchase more than tea. The prices are reasonable. You can purchase an unlimited cup of tea to try the different teas that would’ve been served in that time. I just wish it could be served in actual tea cups. Wishful thinking.😊 We enjoyed sitting outside. Once you leave the tea shop you will enter the gift shop. We didn’t have time to look around. Overall everything was about 1 hour and 15-30 minutes.

This was one of my best museum experiences ever. It is a mix of live actors, audience immersion, videos, and artifacts. The whole experience lasts an hour and you must get timed tickets. We started in a Meeting House on the eve of the Boston Tea Party. All museum goers receive a card telling us who we are that evening. These cards are based on real participants of the Boston Tea Party. I was a bookseller and my husband was a leather dresser. Some folks in the audience have a line to say as the actors take us through the meeting. We learn terminology of the time and why the Americans were so angry. We then go from the Meeting House to the ship where we get to throw "tea crates" into the harbor. Afterwards, we get more history on the events of the evening that triggered the American Revolutionary War and the battle that resulted shortly thereafter. I had a great time and I've already told everyone I know that this museum is a MUST VISIT when in Boston.

Personally, I think there was too many people to go onto the ship itself, and into the first room inside after the ship because I know myself, I could not hear most of what was said or see everything.
A woman waited behind and I seen her taking photos and that was after she already was well aware not to take them.
Maybe put a speaker in microphone on the person that’s talking on the ship cause I didn’t hear a word being stuck in the back and I definitely didn’t see because there was many tall men in front of me.
Other than that, it was very nice

This was a great experience learning more about the Tea Party. Loved the interaction, and enjoyed getting to try the different teas!

The Boston tea museum was such a fun experience!! It definitely dipped into a participatory theatre experience and I enjoyed it! It was also so much fun exploring the ship and yeeting the tea into the harbor! I also recommend checking out the tea house and gift shop that’s connected to it!

The experience was engaging, informative and fun filled. Everyone in the group enjoyed. A light snack at the cafe was pleasant with great port view.

This was one of my favorite things we did on our Boston trip. My father was a US History professor and I was a nerd who loved school. They ask for volunteers for speaking parts so of course this former drama kid rose her hand!

Great fun even on a cold day. Very interactive and informative. Friendly staff and well worth a visit. Tea room and souvenirs at the end of the visit were a bit over-priced.

The tour is part reenactment (we were given character cards), part hands-on exploration of the ship, artifacts, dramatization of the events leading up to the night of the Boston tea party, and subsequent start of the civil war. It is fun, poignant, and illuminating. I did not really know much about this event in history but now I have a historical context and awareness of the importance of this event.

Loved it - one of the best exhibitions that we have ever seen (and we have seen a lot). The actors seemed to enjoy their roles and answered questions with a knowledge of history.

It was fun and educational. The actors were entertaining and the history was interesting. My wife and 11 yr old son enjoyed.

We hadn't planned on doing this tour but we're glad we did! Was very enjoyable and learnt a lot. They added "fun aspects" which was great! We went to the cafe afterwards where we had scones and cookies which were delicious. The staff in the cafe were very friendly

From start to finish, this was a fun experience! The cast/crew was very knowledgeable, professional, and had fun with their roles. It was like being brought back in time to the BTP and we enjoyed the show. There’s some walking and standing with little sitting room in some spots, but they are very accommodating if need be.

Brilliant place to visit. Lovely the story telling of the history by the actors. Such a great experience. Would go again

Good tour, fun to learn about different characters that played a part. Tour guide really played the part and fun to go on a ship

The actors are great, and the Museum's technology is impressive. The ship is well done. Overall, a very educational and engaging 1.5 hours.

This was a great museum/experience. I went with my 25 year old son. We came to Boston for a few days just to explore the city and did the entire freedom trail and other things for the first two days and then did the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum on our last day and it was great! Both of us noted it as one of the favorite things we did on our trip...informativ, interactive and entertaining and the guide (stage name Mr. William Pierce) was excellent. He provided good information but also got the whole group engaged. A little pricier than the other museum but worth it. Highly recommend. Also it seems to sell out on tripadvisor...we got the last spot on the day we went and we booked two days in advance. But I think you may be able to get tickets at the the actual museum on the day. They seemed to have some available when we went.

I was a solo traveller on March 24th this year, my first trip to Boston and had to do the this tour, I really enjoyed the whole thing, all the actors were brilliant and made it very enjoyable, I really enjoyed 'throwing the tea' in to the water. In particular I'd like to thank the 2 actors(think they were playing husband and wife)for helping me when I had a minor medical issue, they took care of me and ensured I was fully recovered before I left, so again, thank you

Great history immersion activity.
The actors are very good and knowledgeable about the event and open to conversations with guests

Toured Boston.
Boston Tea Party Museum
We went to The Boston Tea Party Museum and participated in the reenactment of dumping the tea overboard. This museum and guided tour were more than we expected. I learned a lot too. I didn't know it was 53 years before someone told who dumped the tea into the Boston Harbor! About 150 participants, split into 3 groups and boarded 3 ships to dump the tea and kept The Boston Tea Party a secret!!!! Shucks, nowadays 3 people can barely keep a secret for 53 minutes.
Breaking the seal of 342 chests, shredding the compacted tea and dumping the tea took about 3 hours. It was about $1.7 million (today's equivalency) of tea.
It was 16 months after the dumping of the tea that the Revolutionary War happened.
A storage chest still exists and is in a protective box in the museum. It survived two centuries before it was preserved. It was used for multiple things; a cat box, a nursery for kittens, a doll house, and a storage place for show and tell. We werent allowed to photograph it or any parts of the guided tour on the bottom floor of the museum.

Great interactive experience! The costumes, videos, and storytelling were great for adults and children. Standing in a ship that was similar to what they would’ve sailed was my favorite part just imagining the tea and goods being brought in. I would recommend this experience!

Last minute booking but thoroughly enjoyable. Only 1 hour long which is great for all ages as it is fast paced delivering the history of the Boston Tea Party. Fun for kids throwing the tea crates off the ship and great use of holograms and moving pictures within the museum. The cast members were excellent and very welcoming.
Wish we had more time to experience the tea room and the shop. Highly recommend but set aside at least 2 hours for the tour then the tea room & shop!

It was an hour, but was educational and fun. Staff is enthusiastic and made it interesting. Shop & Cafe are both good sized. I recommend!

This was a great immersive experience putting you back in time with key people involved in the Boston tea party. Thoroughly enjoyed it and all the actors did a great job. Got to throw our own tea over the edge of the boat too!

Informative, fun, and overall good time. I would suggest this experience to my friends and family who have plans to visit Boston.

It was great experience took us back knowledgeable cast toured a real ship from that time. So much of history glad we did it !

I wasn't sure about this when found the price, but after doing this....it was well worth. What a great experience! The performers dressed in period costumes really added to this. I would highly recommend for everyone! In one of the rooms they hand out cards...I was Peter Slater, Jr and at 13 was involved with the Sons of Liberty.

This is a very touristy attraction. I think it is well suited for families with children, my teenagers were not impressed. The actors were good. It was very warm in the museum. I don’t think it was worth the money.

Try well organised and staff were excellent. Good historical information, very informative. The exhibits and experiences were excellent

it was a fun experience and I had a lot of fun! My friends and I had a blast! MY kids had a lot of fun! Im hoping to go in the summer but, my husband is going to drive instead!

Very fun & informative experience! Cast members were excellent. Very fun throwing tea overboard. The start gave a great feel of how meetings may have gone during the time period. Great for couples or families.

We had a wonderful and immersive experience at the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum! The guides, the ship, the tour were all amazing and put a perfect bookend on my family's first trip to Boston. I would highly recommend this experience!

This was the best experience we did in Boston by far. Completely surprised us how amazing it was. I thought we were just visiting a ship, I had no idea how much more we would be getting. The actors were superb! We learned so much. Highly recommend starting your trip to Boston with this as your first adventure.

This tour was easy to book online, and very busy so worth planning ahead. We enjoyed the way the history was bought to life. It was a little rushed at the end, we were the last tour of the day and the gift shop etc was closed, which we were sad about. Perhaps try and get there for an earlier tour.

We took my 10 yo grandson there on July 4 weekend!. He loved it. The actors were amazing. They really got the audience involved. Its beautiful, educational, well done and so much fun!!! Throwing tea in the harbor was great fun. But we also loved the patriots meeting and the speaking portraits! I'm a history buff and everything was very accurate. The tickets were reasonable. We had plenty of time and never felt rushed. Check it out!!! Great for school age children.

Georgia (our server) was very welcoming and genuinely lovely!!! the food was very tasty and very quick service, it fuelled us up for the day :) i am 100% coming again

thoroughly enjoyed our visit to this excellent museum and to participate in the protests, not to mention helping throw all the tea overboard. The 'historical interpreters' were excellent, stayed in character from the moment they encouraged us to cheer, shout, hiss, boo at the meeting to when we'd got rid of the tea. The videos explaining what happened were very well done, very clever use of holograms. The whole place is fresh and welcoming, it's interesting to go aboard the actual size ship which is surprisingly small, and the gift shop has good quality items, not tacky. Well done all the team, and thank you for an entertaining visit.

I went with my 11-year-old son and we both really enjoyed this. It was interactive and educational. The actors were on point as well. It was probably one of my son‘s favorite things we did in Boston.

Enjoyed the enactment and stories about the original tea party. Fun tour with live actors. Great history and visit to the harbor.

They were amazing! I loved how interactive and engaging it was . I learned so much! I recommend everyone to go!! It was cool to see the movie and they also have great tea and pastries for purchase after.

Nice way to tell the story, very complete and fun. Tourists are invited to participate in the staging, ideal to go with children and see the story told in this way.

A great reenactment of the Boston tea party. The characters were great and we had a lot a lot of fun. I would highly recommend.

We recently visited Boston and went to the Tea Party reenactment. Very professional, good humoured and enjoyable and that is coming from someone who is English! Would recommend visiting when in Boston.

First the bad so you read it. Website and this site make you believe a reservation is a must and will sell out. Only 1 space available when I “ checked availability “ so of course I grabbed it since my family wanted to go so bad. This last space sent all other plans and reservations back to the drawing board. With the adjustments lots of money and time was lost, but it was important to them so we made concessions for this tour. While there, they were selling walk in tickets. I lost a ton of money and at least a day worth of our trip screwed up because they make it seem like you have to reserve ahead, you don’t have too.
Although, it was very well done. I am glad we did it, just would have done a different day if above info known. The actor/ employees did an amazing job. They were perfect, funny, quick witted and as I heard them answer questions, very well educated on these events. Applause to them.

This museum was so much fun! I loved how they guided us along the museum from room to room. Each part of the museum was unique, interactive, and well thought-out. I was surprised and entertained at every turn. The information was enough to make you feel like you were really getting to know Boston's history, but not so much that you felt overwhelmed. I recommend this museum for tourists and visitors of all ages.

What a fun and educational tour. The characters played their parts so well that you were taken back in time. I learned little things that were so interesting. The museum was interesting as well.

Of all the places we have toured in the area, this one is our favorite. Hearing the speeches and being encouraged to participate were fun, and the museum was interesting without taking too much time. We had fun and learned a few things!

We were surprised how much we enjoyed the tour. It’s interactive with audience participation and I was ready to cringe, but they actually did it very well and everyone got involved. The actors/ staff are lovely and present really well. It really got the story over. An hour well spent!

The experience, the reenactment and their knowledge gave you a good feeling of how the whole Boston tea party came to be very interesting!

Enjoyable! Our guides were great in their colonial roles encouraging the rest of us to get into the revolutionary spirit.

Wonderful interactions with the entire crew. They are making the experience so alive. We will definitely return to this experience.

The actors are really committed and stayed in character the whole time! Definitely informative but not a museum by definition. More of a live reenactment but still fun nonetheless! You as the audience get to participate. A few really cool artifacts. Cute tea room and bakery at the end of your tour. Amazing gift shop with lots of variety!Definitely in a great location and across the street from the children’s museum.

Immersive, Fun.
Interactive story telling. Feel the story behind the rebellion against the crown. Story tellers are very commited to the story of the start of America.

We’re a family of four with two teenage sons (12/13 years old). We really enjoyed the experience. We stayed at the Omni Seaport Hotel which was a quick 5 minute car ride to the ship/museum. The guides were very friendly and informative. The experience lasted about an hour. We started with some background knowledge about the Tea Party. Next, we boarded the ship and threw boxes of tea overboard. Afterwards, we went to the museum where we watched a few short videos/films. The museum had artifacts including an actual box! There was a tea shop to buy snacks, scones, tea etc and a lovely gift shop. From here it is a short walk to the harbor where there are restaurants and other sites. Would recommend!

The Boston Tea Party Ship and Museum is fantastic. Great interaction with guests. Very well presented. A must see for everyone.

Where it all began. You can have an hours tour including a re enactment of the throwing the tea into the harbour. The tea room, Abigails is delightful, You can have all of the flavours of the teas that were thrown into the harbour, try the souchong, it is marvellous. Good gift shop to browse.

We had a great time here. The tour was interactive and educational allowing you to participate in some way. I thoroughly enjoyed this great tour of part of our founding history. I would definitely recommend giving this tour a try if you’re visiting Boston.

The show was good ( Monday October 13th at 1pm ) - but - my experience was shocking. I needed to leave in the middle of the boat show ( the medical reason ) and I told the main actor. He blocked my way and I had to stay until the end. Still can't believe it. Too sad.

Authentic, informative, a must if visiting Boston. The characters are very engaging and manage to teleport you through time during 1773 period and allows you to experience a glimpse of how was like during that time.
Although small (1 hour tour), it was exceptional, highly recommend it.

Firstly we arrived a day earlier than booked!! Walter met us at the East Meeting place and immediately got us sorted. Tnx

I almost didn’t go to this because some people online said it was not worth it. I’m so glad we went. We had a great time. The actors were fun, educational, and engaging. It was fun going through the reenactment part and then it was moving when we went through the movie/museum part. Knowing our history is so important. My husband and I enjoyed this a lot and want to bring our kids here if we ever come back to Boston.

Great tour. The speakers were entertaining and the history presented was interesting. Didn’t hurt that it was a sunny day

As it has such an important place in American history, we felt like we must go and see the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. Situated really close to South Station it is well worth going to see.

We loved it. Very nice presentation of American history and the beginning of the revolution. The film is very interesting. Great things to do in Boston

I went into the Boston Tea Party Museum expecting a total tourist trap, but it actually turned out to be a really fun and well-done performance. The actors were great, the experience was interactive, and even though one of the last parts malfunctioned, they made up for it by giving everyone a hot cup of tea—honestly a nice touch.
The gift shop was surprisingly cute too. I picked up some herbal-infused coasters for hot drinks and some classic salt water taffy. Overall, not a waste of time at all—definitely glad I went.

It was a fun experience and educational. Puts what was sacrificed into perspective. I recommend a visit. Tour is not overly long and keeps your attention and has interactive parts.

Fun to learn about history in an interactive way! Loved the costumes, and especially the ship. The tea shop was a nice little resting spot!

This tour was great!! The history of the Boston Tea party from the staff was excellent. I was amazed at how the employees re-enacted this part of our history. The museum was so informative and the gift shop was amazing. Would highly recommend for all ages. If visiting when school is in I would recommend getting there early as school groups visit which can be a little overwhelming and crowded.

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is a must see in Boston. The actors do a wonderful job helping immerse you in the experience and the museum is a modern and high level experience. I highly recommend!

Great tour. Very informative. Well done performances. Loved the interaction with the guides and the audience. Would definitely recommend if you enjoy history tours. Got to actually see original box and tea leaves from the Boston Tea Party. Had fun throwing the “tea” over into the harbor.

My family (kids aged 11 and 8) went into this museum not knowing what to expect besides that there would be some tea dumping involved. We were very pleasantly surprised by how interactive the whole experience was. I won’t say more to not give anything away. I highly recommend this activity.

This was my second time here in two years as my wife was sick and of course I had to bring her here after my first experience. My daughter was 4 (now 6) and she absolutely loved coming back here and getting to throw tea into the harbor for a first and second time. This is such a fun experience to learn about American history that allows for guest interaction and walking through a ship just like the one that patriots climbed aboard that night back in 1773. The tour is perfectly balanced to keep people engaged and informative to all the events that lead to the American Revolution. Even having done this twice I would totally go back and visit this family fun museum anytime. Huzzah!

This place felt scripted and extremely touristy. We tried getting into the museum but the only you can get in is with an expensive tour. The Gift Shop which is free to get in offers some great souvenir choices.

This is as so much fun! Our tour guide Abigail May was fantastic. It was very informative, great for families. I highly recommend this tour!

Interactive, fun, and interesting. My family and I had a great time. The location, presentations, and actors/staff all contributed to an excellent family-friendly adventure, even for two hard to impress teens.

We didn’t go on board the ship , but had a great view of the harbor . The fight shop was very nice and had some pretty tea service sets

Loved that it had several activities and it was hands on and just the right amount of time to keep someone’s interest. Highly recommend!

What a fun, interactive and comprehensive experience! We expected it to be pure kitsch, powdered with some history. But it was very thorough and offered several video/hologram narratives that helped contextualize the history, together with the kitsch of tossing the tea in the harbor. My 12-year-old daughter and I had the two speaking roles in the opening role-play meeting. She loved that, and it really helped capture her attention for the whole experience. The staff was amazing, especially the lead lady... great accent, never broke character, super enthusiastic. Just a few minutes walk from the Barking Crab, where we had dinner afterwards... highly recommend both!

It was rainy today; however, the team did an awesome job recounting events and getting a rather “Rained out” group to participate. It was a wonderful historical representation of events.

The very best entertaining group I experienced. I have to stamp my feet for them all. Who knew facts could be interesting and fun. Be sure to toss the tea overboard. Solo traveler and this was great alone but couples fun also.

Great interactive experience! Kids loved it! Very informative. Great costumes. Loved the tea room. Enjoyed our visit to the museum.

Wow! Speechless. It was more than what I expected. Amazing presentation from the staff! They kept their characters and were highly professional. I was so impressed by the looong scripts that they need to memorize! The tea tasting was good to. My favorite was the Young Hyson and Souch tea. A must for tourists and non-tourist. As a teacher I give this experience two thumbs!

This was a fun activity for a rainy day. The attraction is more of a theatrical re-creation of the Boston Tea Party. It was well done and the actors were interesting and engaging. The museum wasn’t that impressive so that was a bit disappointing but other wise was well done. Might be more fun for kids ages 7-14 because of the ship tour and the play acting.

Staff were excellent. Friendly & very informative. Information was very accurate including historical places & dates. Most enjoyable!!

Reenactment was surreal. The players act the roles, we touched multiple locations that showed the times that we were learning about.
This event on our must see was more than we expected.
We recommend this experience.

Really fun, educational experience. It was much more interesting than what I expected and the tour guides were excellent. Very creative presentation that brings the story to life. Enjoyed it very much!

While we appreciated the efforts of all the actors and narrators, it is way overdue for the experience to get a narrative overhaul. It doesn’t take that much work to add a bit of diverse perspectives (historical facts) in the walk through. Women, Black and Indigenous men all had a hand in the Revolutionary War. When our very founding principles are being threatened in the present, it is even more critical for an attraction like this that calls itself a museum to represent even the seldom known truths in our history.

The actors/actresses attire was true to the time period. They were also passionate and enthusiastic in their roles. They interacted with all guests and were very knowledgeable when guests asked questions. I wish my history teachers would have expressed such vigor when teaching about history. If they would have been, my interest in history would have been much greater . Great addition to the tour was the ability to browse through the gift shop and tasting of the teas (purchased separately from tour).

The staff were committed to their roles, were very kind and accommodating and definitely knew what they were talking about. Everyone clearly had a passion for educating and entertaining their patrons.

Better than expected. First we arrived well before our ticketed time and were allowed to join an earlier group. We enjoyed being given a role of an actual tea party participant. They started with a meeting to rouse the crowd then on to ships to dump the tea and tour. In the museum was an actual tea chest and many displays about the participants and film. It is all we done. A tea cafe is available to purchase and drink samples of the tea.

It was a very informative tour. Did not expect live "actors" but found it to be very worth our time! It was pouring rain, high winds and very cold, but still glad we did it.

Great time, interactive and interesting, a must visit. Staff were great, location is really good, go for a nice walk along the river before or afterwards.

We enjoyed our visit to the museum. It was very interesting and loved the staff being "in character". We would have liked to have more time to read the information about the artifacts. The shop was great!

Very well done. High quality history experience. We wish all were like this. The organization and the attention to detail made it very manageable and understandable for all ages in our family.

Tour was overpriced for the experience. There were about 70 people trying to hear, see, walk around, and spend time on photos and exploring the ship. We didn't have enough time to read the museum info boards and were crowded from one room to another to nake room for the next group (15 min. behind?). We couldn't even take photos of us pretending to throw the tea bales into the bay because of the crowd. The final "straw" was the tea- tasting at their café was not even included. The paper cup for tasting from the urns cost almost $5., or $22. for a pot of tea and 2 scones for a family! They should, at least, offer small tasting cups of tea for the high tour price.
The tea café does have some fun table games to enjoy while eating and drinking the pastries and tea, and their gift shop has a great gift selection. These you can enjoy without purchasing the tour. You can see and photograph the replica tea ships in the harbor from the street. Children may get more from the costumed re-enactors' drama, but probably not "follow" the political rhetoric.

The actors are brilliant! You feel immersed in the story from the beginning. Very interesting and informative and fun!!!

Excellent actors who knew their lines perfectly. Museum with audio-visual was very interesting. Good history lesson

Good re enactment of the event that was key to starting the American route to independence.
Very enjoyable, even if I did wear a red coat!

This was a FANTASTIC experience… The ship was beautifully restored. The reenactment on board was great, the presentations in the rooms after the ship experience were very well done as well.

We ended up visiting very much on a whim but absolutely loved it. Normally the play acting would be cringe but because neither one of us knew anything about the American Revolution it was actually very interesting and incredibly detailed.

It was cold and wet (October 2023) but genuinely did not mind as the guides were wonderful in making the story come to life. A little rushed and would have liked a little more time to read the information boards on our own but for the most part a good visit and a trip to Abigail's Tea Room afterwards was just what was needed after being out on the ship.

Awesome experience! Great way to see history come alive. Woukd recommend everyone to come and enjoy! Lots of information given and seen. The announcement of the start of the tour was cool.

To all who find this, my family and I took a tour with a missus, madame (?) Skullay. It was clear throughout the whole tour that she was high out of her mind. It was clear she also stank. Such a disappointment for our trip and are of money for the kids. The colonial characters in charge of the tours seemed to be picked at random, so just hope that you don’t get stuck with her.

Very interactive tour, knowledgable guides. A fun experience while also learning something, very good. It lasts for about an hour, which is just right.

This was such a cool tour. I want to commend the actors who really worked hard and brought energy and life to the tour. This seemed like such a great family activity. Next time I wanna come with my nephews and niece.

This is a wonderful museum for anyone who loves history. Be prepared to be immersed in the events of the day when Bostonians decided they weren't going to accept England's unfair taxes.

This was an excellent experience. The guides did a fabulous job. It was interesting and interactive. Worth every penny. All the kids enjoyed it and learnt something

Authentic, interactive experience. Loved it! The actors committed to their roles; lots of audience participation. The movie near the end of the presentation was excellent.

AN ABSOLUTE BLAST! I loved the reenacters so much and loved that they let us participate and ask so many questions. The museum of fun and one of the best aesthetically too! (Plus yummy adorable tea shop). Everyone was so kind.

Excellent interactive museum/experience. You move as a group through about 5 stages with actors that guide you through various stages of the tea party until Lexington/Concord.
We thought it was a lovely experience.

This a must visit for all ages, whether resident or tourist. Nice area to stroll and lots of places to eat
Parking is tough so use public transportation or park far away

We loved how the employees stayed in character the whole time. The history lesson and the museum were exceptionally interesting. The souvenirs we purchased at the gift shop were affordable.

The guides were very engaging. My family enjoyed this museum immensely. Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning about the Tea Party and also Lexington and Concord (there is a nice short movie everyone watched).

Really great. Interactive. For all ages. Recommend doing this after a freedom trail guided tour.
Characters were excellent.

This is one of the best tours ever. It was truly outstanding. Mrs May was an outstanding actor & should be auditioning for Broadway.

All three guides/actors did a fabulous job and made things fun AND educational!! We left wishing we could bring two of our teen grandchildren to see this!

I had been wanting to visit this place and it was well worth the wait! The actors really made the experience enjoyable. Incredibly fascinating and historical.

A good step back in time interactive storytelling of the Boston Tea Party.
From the meeting house, to dumping tea, to the aftermath.
Well worth it!
Finishing off with tea and cookies.
Huzzah!!!

Great time - lots of history - the tea room was beautiful and has great clam chowder!! It was fun to throw fake tea in the bay!

My husband really wanted to do this and I thought "what a hokey way to spend a morning". Actually, the young actors never break character and it was fun. Then after the entertainment you can purchase a cup and sample several teas.

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour and experience at Tea Party Museum !! You get a interactive, entertaining history lesson, tour a replica of the ship AND and a very interesting museum. I am sure the Tea House is also fabulous, but I am a coffee man myself..lololol. Highly recommended the tour!

It was a fun experience. The interactive dialog with the speakers and guests was fun and it immersed us with the rich history of this historic event.

The tour was very informative with actors; who transported you back in time as the events unfolded. Great audience participation throughout and excellent audio-visuals.

Wonderful experience! Interactive and entertaining! Definitely a must see while in Boston. When I go back I will do this tour again

I've never had a museum that had me smiling and laughing the whole way through, but this museum did it. Every worker is dressed in old colonial garb and speaks to you in the way they did in the 1770s. As a lover of Boston history, seeing how seriously they take the role of immersing the crowd into the complicated history of the time was astounding. I've never seen such a well-curated historical experience, right next to where the real event happened, which really relics of the time and extremely knowledgeable staff. They even have a tearoom that offers the exact tea the Bostonians threw overboard back in the day! This was a highlight of our trip, and I could not recommend it enough!

This was an excellent attraction. Fun and interactive - even the reluctant museum goers in the family said it was 8/10. The history was told well with lots of audience participation. Surprising elements were great fun and I would recommend this for all ages. The only negative was the tea room - food was poor, all wrapped in plastic (why?) and didn’t taste of anything.

Cool history with combination of live actors and videos share the history of the tea party. If you want you can toss a "box of tea" overboard.

4 Adults, first time in Boston. We had a great time. The "actors" were very knowledgeable and certainly played their parts well. Both of the men in our party had a part in the town meeting. The museum makes it very easy to join in and have fun while also learning all about the event. The tour takes you through several areas including a boat for the actual "tea party". If you are interested in history you'll love it. If not, you will be very entertained.

The museum was so much fun and very informative! I loved the tour of the ship and adding films to explain key historical events.

Pure entertainment while educating us on all Boston Tea Party facts. Interactive! Best museum experience we’ve ever had!

My husband and I attended this. It was fun and much more interactive and exciting than I thought it would be. I plan on going again the next time I make it to the Boston area. Huzzah!

Great must do attraction that gives historical information, shows artifacts, and can be interactive. Great talented actors in period garb tell the stories. We went on a replica ship and our guides gave excellent explanations regarding the boat.

Wow, wow, wow! We loved this. The guides were knowledgeable, personable, engaging and authentic. The museum was incredibly well-planned, organized, and presented. Do not miss this one!

Interactive with characters. Good information. A little pricey. The store was nice. The scones were delicious. Would recommend overall!

My coworker and I visited Boston for the first time and very much enjoyed this visit! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and did an great job!

This is a fun way to experience the history behind the Boston Tea Party. The staff were interactive and amusing. You are on a bit of a production line and didn’t get much opportunity to stop and read the information or explore. The price was quite steep too.

Coming from Australia we wanted to get a bit of a historical experience whilst in Boston. This museum and experience was absolutely excellent, we really enjoyed it. The staff are all in period costume and make the experience a lot of fun. We learnt a bit more about the Boston Tea Party and the events leading up to it. Would definitely recommend worth a visit.

The experience was interesting. I prefer self paced tours and this was a group interactive tour. We didn’t have the time to look around the museum before being moved to the next room. The staff was very talented.

My mom, sister, and I absolutely loved this! The staff went above and beyond to help my mom, who uses a walker — they were incredibly kind and accommodating. My sister and I went below deck while she stayed above, and they made sure she was part of the fun. Throwing tea into the harbor was a blast, and the museum presentation was one of the best we saw in Boston. A wonderful experience from start to finish!

It was better than expected and fun for the whole family! The actors were fantastic and made the whole experience captivating.

This is a unique experience because it has multiple different activities all in one stop. It is an entirely guided experience, not a free roaming museum. First, there is the reenactment of the town meeting, then you board the ship and get a feel of what the ships in that time were like. After the ship tour you head into the museum area, but it is not a museum in the traditional sense. It’s a guided experience with a few cool surprises thrown in.
If you go, don’t forget to visit the tea house to sample the variety of teas that would have made their way into the bay that day.
Pros: Engaging presentation by staff, unexpectedly cool museum portion of the visit. Great tea experience.
Cons: Because the tours are timed, it felt a bit rushed, especially on the boat portion. Probably would feel less rushed if the groups were smaller.

Every city has a tourist trap and this is Boston's. Contrary to other reviews, the ship at the Bostom Tea Party Ships and Museum is NOT an actual ship, it is a replica and they state that both in writing and in person. Maybe that's why people have written a good review, because they are misinformed on this? Also this is NOT a museum. The only artifact they had was an actual tea box that was tossed into the bay during the rebellion. That is it... nothing else. This was a cheesy audience interactive setting using subpar actors to dramatize a few events, followed by going through the replica of a ship in that era, (that took all of 5 minutes) and a few short films that were also re-enactments of conversations between a few historical figures. I do not recommend this at all, you will feel duped after paying 36.00 to attend this. All four of us left there dismayed at the misrepresentation of this place.

First time in the States and came here because my convention was here in Boston. Made a quick stop at this museum and I am happy to say that I am glad that I visited here. Got to learn the history and the foundation of this area. Great introduction to my stay here.

Well developed program mixing hi-tech presentations with live actors and audience incoming. Top class! Lots of fu, very informative.

Why not? You spent a lot of money to get to Boston. You’ve done the Freedom Trail. Quincy Market was fun. Go ahead and get a bit of an education—especially if you have school-aged children. It’s not cheap, but worth it.
It’s kitschy, sure. But it’s done very well. The staff/actors were fantastic. Whole experience was done very well and brought the Revolution to light in a very enjoyable 45 minutes. This old man even learned a few things.
Only recommendation: slow down a tad bit. Lines were sometimes delivered a little too quickly. But, you do have a schedule to keep. I get it.

We really enjoyed this. Staff were great, played the parts really well, and we found it very informative and interactive. It's close to the city centre and worth a visit if in the area

Well done actors were very convincing.boat looked real as well. Multimedia also super entertaining and interesting.

A must see history event to better understand what our patriots did in order to become America. The museum does a great job of retelling and acting out this event. And, it was unbelievable to see authentic remnants from the Tea Party.

This is my first trip to Boston, and the Boston Tea Party museum was on my must-do list. I like the audience participation, which is fun and very interesting and educational.

This was the best activity in Boston and worth every penny. Our guide was an amazing character and very good guide. Make sure you go earlier in the day (don't be the last tour of the day) so you have plenty of time in the tea shop and the gift shop.
We are adults, but this would be a great activity for the children to live in a huge period of history. Fun AND educational.

Nice experience at the beginning of the city tour.
Accompanied by extras recalling the episode that started the American Revolution, you board a vintage boat (a reproduction?), make the gesture of throwing one of the crates into the water, visit an interesting museum and conclude with a tea tasting.
Fun especially if you go with children.

Just wow! We went in to this with zero expectations and were gleefully impressed with the tour. The guides/actors were phenomenal as well as the unexpected special effects. We got to tour the ship, throw tea in the water and sample the tea after the tour. This is worth every penny. We did a LOT of tours on this trip and this one was the most fun and impressive.

Fun experience, if not a little corny. Went through the entire history of the Boston Tea Party. Staff in clothes of the period and they give you a character of the period. Much of it was information and you are standing, so expect an hour on your feet.

We had been in Boston all week but found all apotz taken earlier in the week when we checked; but when my husband checked again mid week, two spots opened and we took the one for our last day, before leaving.
The weather was probably the best we saw all week!! We had our 15yo, 9yo, and b/g 2yo twins with us, plus two strollers (not umbrella, but not huge either). We arrived very early, about 30-45 minutes, mostly because parking was up in the air- literally- we ended up parking by the nearby fire station museum, on the roof of the parking garage. We were able to easily get to the bathrooms down a gangway and into Abigail’s bakery below; wish we had time to sample the baked goods or sit in their quaint cafe! They also had lots of neat mugs for sale and lots of tea of course.
We were told to park our strollers just outside on the dock, which was okay for our walking 2yo, but her twin has Down syndrome and doesn’t yet walk, and wears a backpack feed pump. Once we explained, one of the actors agreed it would be okay for most of the tour since it was a smaller single stroller- especially when my husband politely asked how they accommodate for those in larger wheelchairs. She made sure the other actors outside knew, which we appreciated.
We had no problem hanging in the back of the pack, and while another reviewer suggested all the speaking actors wear mics, and I agree, we heard everything just fine. I feel we actually saw more from the back than others constantly clamoring for the front. Eh to each their own!
Our group was in the meeting room first, and it was cool the “trading card” person they hand you has a QR code you can check out later for more info on their roll in the revolution. Some even had speaking parts with our tour guide Thomas which was neat!
After that we went to the ship outside. We couldn’t take the stroller on the ship, but were only on it a little while so we held our son or let him sit on the upper deck and scoot around. I thought I’d get a good shot of his older brother tossing tea from there but there was too much in the way. Turns out, leaving the ship last gave us some unexpected extra time at the tea toss while others again tried to rush off with our guide. A few actors remained on the ship of course and seemed fine with us taking a quick and better photo op. We even got one with our little dude and his oldest brother, he got to be part of the fun too!
The rest of the tour we could keep him in the stroller. The first room after the tea toss for our group was really cool. It’s been 30 years since I was last here and the updates are great! At first I thought it was a super dark and small odd room to have for this kind of tour but then it made sense. Our guide Thomas was really good- he even seemed startled when the other “actors” suddenly appeared. It was really engaging and neat technology to see.
After that we went in another room, and it felt like a gallery. Part of the wall began to illuminate with a presentation, and pieces of the gallery were also illuminated and even moved in turn with the presentation. Then my jaw dropped as I was caught off guard with Harry Potter magic as two of the four portraits start talking back and forth!!! It looked so believable, so seamless. Incredible!
After that we were escorted into a mini movie
Theater of sorts with just a few benches up front. Another large family with lots of kids had quickly taken up all the seating, but our guide Thomas very kindly asked some to let my husband sit down with our little guy on his lap, then saw me standing off to the side and got mad others hadn’t offered a seat to me when I was holding our now sleeping little girl. This act of kindness touched us deeply as we weren’t going to ask for special treatment, though it helped greatly to have a seat.
I also wanted to mention there was another actor outside after the tea toss who assisted the back of group when several kids, older kids who knew better, had their backs turned to our guide and his presentation and were horsing around and talking loudly- with one of their adults. I got annoyed and shooshed them several times, but this actor walked over and politely insisted they return their quiet attention to the tour. I thanked her as we left that area:)
Finally, back inside the gift shop where strollers aren’t allowed because it is quite small with many fragile things, one of the register workers made sure we were welcomed and found what we needed and had us stay near her station so we weren’t in the way and could check out easier as well. Another cashier saw me and quickly said strollers weren’t allowed but the other cashier kindly corrected her and said we were fine and had already been there for over 20 minutes anyway. I appreciated her speaking up when she didn’t need to. Oh! The gift shop has a penny press machine just inside the door, and it’s still only 51c!! Always my go-to souvenir on our adventures. Other souvenirs here worth mentioning are the small round button pins that say “FIE!” And “Huzzah!” As well as the teapot magnet with 1773 etched on it, and tin of revolution breakfast tea, haha. It’s not locally made of course, but will go nicely with my teapot collection at home. They also have small working replicas of the Robinson box, but seemed too flimsy to hold more than some bags of tea. If it came with tea or was made with more quality I definitely would have got that.
I would like to come back when the twins are a little older so they can enjoy this a bit more. The updates were great and the careful balance of technology with traditional touring is something other sites need to consider!

Loved the experience and highly recommend it. The story was incredibly interesting and the people involved ensured the audience was engaged

The experience was a little lightweight on the background history however was nonetheless all very enjoyable. Delivered by a very talented and enthusiastic team it offered up some important historical information into the development of the USA. Somewhat interactive, my family enjoyed throwing the bales of tea into the harbour. Only minor gripe was that it was sometimes difficult to hear the narration being delivered by the female host - perhaps a mic might be an idea moving forward. No such problems with the guy playing John Adams - his delivery was superb and you could have heard him back in the Houses of Parliament!

We really liked this museum albeit the teens found it a bit cringey. Not a massive amount of content and very touristy but fun.

What an amazing experience at the Boston Tea Party Museum!
As a non-American, I knew the basics, but this experience really educated us on the protest!
As soon as you enter you are transported back in time to 1773. You are given participant bios, and are put right into the thick of things. All our guides were knowledgeable and were really fun to watch and interact with!
Don’t miss this unique tour!

Visited here from the UK to learn more about this famous historical incident. I expected it to be pro American but did not expect it to be so unbelievably anti British. As soon as you sit down in your group, you are told to boo and hiss every time the British are mentioned. You're then taken to a replica of a ship where children are cheered while they throw replica tea chests into the water. The girl in costume taking us around spent all her time slagging off the British despite asking everyone individually where they had come from and discovering that four people there were British. We felt very uncomfortable, almost bullied. I appreciate this is an important event in American history and they do like to bang on about freedom (unless of course you were the indigenous people of America in which case they slaughtered you and stole your lands). If you're British or have British family avoid this place, it's not a pleasant environment.

The museum and reenactment were both phenomenal! I had a wonderful time and definitely would go again! Recommend for any and all age groups!

Costume plays and inter exhibits and films. Only allowed in for 1 hour along with the crew. You cannot look at the exhibits on your own. The dramatic effect inside is cool though.

At first, I thought it would be childish. I knew immediately that I was wrong. The actors are so dedicated to their work & stay in character from start to finish. It was an amazing experience. Definitely do the tea room after! You can try the 5 teas that were thrown overboard in 1773. I had a blast

Great and fun way to learn history.
Only about an hour long, so kids won’t be over it and may actually pay attention. The actors really stay in character but interact in such a fun way involving the patrons. Even Learned a couple new things about that time. Highly recommend!

A most interesting dip back in time to the history of Boston. Actors were excellent and all was done in an orderly fashion. Great experience and vv well put together.

The Museum was fantastic. The gift shop was very nice and had a wide array of items to choose from and was affordable. Some group participation.

My husband and I did this while we were in Boston for the weekend. It was just a short walk from our hotel. We bought tickets the morning of as we were told times can sell out quickly. We arrived about an hour early and enjoyed exploring the gift shop and tea room. The while reenactment was a great time and worth doing if you are interested in history. You even get to toss tea off the ship.

This tour was so much fun! My 23-year-old and I went on our recent weekend getaway to Boston. We enjoyed tea samplings in the tea room before and after our tour (keep your receipt; they will give you another cup).
The time on the "ship" is about 15 minutes. You go downstairs into the belly of the ship, wind around, and back upstairs to get a chance to "throw tea overboard." Then, you go inside the museum to see videos and artifacts. It is very well organized.

Great experience - puts you in the middle of the Revolution. Highly recommended for all ages. The exhibits were also very educational.

This was kind of a must do when doing Boston with young kids but honestly I figured it would be underwhelming and overly cheesy, I was wrong. This was really well done, one of the few things during our week traveling through New Engald that kept my kids engaged and interested throughout. They definitely learned something as did I. Recommend it

This was a great experience! The tour was engaging, entertaining, and easy to follow. My 12 year old daughter enjoyed it as much as the adults. Loved it!

Very immersive great experience! The crew was funny and engaging throughout the performance. We really enjoyed the entire performance.

One of our favorite stops in Boston. Tour guides made it fun, tour is well laid out and informative. Well worth the time and money.

Highly informative and engaging presentation excellently performed by the costumed actors. Enjoyable for adults and children alike.

Everything was great! The "cast & crew" were amazing!! They were very knowledgeable and interacted with all age brackets extremely well. It's wonderful to have such a piece of history so accessible

The Boston Tea Party experience is very interesting. It was fascinating to learn that this act was start of the American Revolution. You go on to a boat and can dump tea in the harbor. In the tea shop they still serve the 5 teas that were dumped in to harbor in 1773. They are all from China. The tastes a very different than those of the black teas we drink today.

Huzzah! Our guides were very fun and upbeat. Great tour of the ship and a history lesson with videos and portraits that come to life regarding the tea party and revolution. Very cool seeing one of the original boxes from the event as well. Highlight of course was throwing the tea overboard. No taxation without representation!

The story being told by story tellers/actors. They make the history of the Tea Party entertaining. They also get the crowd to be an active participant. The facilities are well maintained, clean and the digitized presentations were well done.

I highly recommend this for not only kids, but also adults. The entire crew does an amazing job! It is action, packed, educational, and a whole lot of fun in the one hour tour. If you are in Boston, you have to do this!

There was a young child screaming so could not hear well. Needed a few more minutes to look around in each section.
The actors did a great job. The movie was really informative. I liked the paintings talking back and forth.

This experience was so much more than tossing tea off a ship.
You're getting a full history lesson, complete with characters in choosing l costume. My 9 year old, who just learned about the revolutionary war, loved it as well.

Visiting the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum was like stepping back in time—but way more fun than any history class! The interactive exhibits really put you in the shoes of the colonists, and tossing tea into the harbor was surprisingly therapeutic. The replica ships are super cool to explore, and the actors do an awesome job of bringing the whole story to life. It's not just a museum; it's an experience. If you're in Boston, this place is a must-see!

This was a delightful way to spend 1.5 hours. The characters did a great job pulling in the audience and provided a nice overview of the circumstances leading up to the tea party. A tour of a typical ship from that era and an organized walk through their museum followed leading to a cafe where teas typical of that time could be tasted (extra fee). My favorite was the one that tasted smokey. There are a few surprise effects in the museum that were amazing. I would recommend attending and trying the teas.

I thought this was great! An immersive way to learn. The actors kept my interest the whole time. I was one of my favorite parts of my trip to Boston.
Good time, but it is better for kids
As a solo adult it was so-so, but where this would have shined is with kids or the younger audience. Actors were great, very interactive and entertaining.
