1 of 17 Best Attractions in Broken Bow

Went there for the weekend with our youth church group to camp. The camping area was clean and well maintained. The wildlife was plentifully and friendly, coming right up to you for snacks. Good fishing, very challenging walking trails, train ride, horseback trails, the only downside was trying to find the park entrance at night, the entrance sign was not illuminated. It was a very relaxing experience.

This is probably the most picturesque lake we have been to. We travel every year up to this area and I think it just gets prettier and prettier. Small islands dot the water here and there and it is perfect backdrop for photos. We have fished from shore but you really need a boat. Very deep and cold lake. Many cabins in the area and lots of hiking around as well.

The water is a little low, but the lake is still beautiful. At times, it can be a deep blue, reminiscent of the ocean. Just no salt. Swimming, fishing or boating, outstanding.

This was our first visit to Broken Bow lake. Beautiful lake. We had a group of 10 adults 10 children. We rented two beautiful cabins. We definitely needed more time to explore. I will return soon. We stayed at East haven cabin and lake haven.

Broken Bow Lake is a hidden gem. The lake is absolutely gorgeous and extremely clean. The shoreline is beautiful and refreshing. A must visit on your trip to the area. A lot of activities are available for all ages.

My family and I arrived around 10 am on a Saturday to go swimming. The water was cool and clean but the shoreline drops off fast. Our little swimmers wore a life jacket because of this. The crowds arrived pretty fast the closer it got to noon. Then another family docked a boat and two jet skis right next to us in the swimming area. We left when this happened as we did not want to get injured. As we were leaving it was difficult to even drive down the roads to get out due to so many vehicles parked along the road and coming in to the lake. If we go back it will definitely be during the week and not on a weekend.

Beautiful lake with amazing views that make you forget you are in Oklahoma! Very peaceful and scenic. We will be back for sure!

Love the fact that there are so many roads to site see around the lake. It really is a beautiful lake.

We had a great camping trip at Beavers Bend State park recently. We stayed in the Cypress camping area. Electric(30 amp) and water were at each site. It was 100 degrees plus each day, but there is plenty of shade from all the trees. River was 55 degrees, lake was 85 degrees. Hiking was rough with how warm it was, take plenty of water. Fishing along the river appeared to be good. Always saw people with fish. Kayaking trips available, check the water levels and flow before you go. Other campers were courteous and respectful. We want to go back in the fall. Only drawback was that the sites were pretty close together. They don't have half circles, otherwise it would be 4 1/2.

Beautiful, clean lake, good fishing, great swimming spots, clean camping spots, some of the bathrooms could use a little more attention through out the day during high volume traffic, as they can get Pretty Nasty at Times.

This lake was a bit unique compared to some others we've been on as it provided a lot of nooks and crannies to fish and explore. The water was a bit murky when we went because it had been raining for several days, but the water was still clean and allowed for a beautiful experience. We'll need to go back when it's warmer and enjoy the water more.

Drove around and took the ducks on the lake. Very pretty for the little we seen. Need more time in the area. 2 days wasent enuff

Gorgeous Lake that is not overcrowded. The lake is HUGE! You can rent jet skis, boats, go canoes, kayaks, party barges, & wake boards. There’s also a beach/ swimming area to swim in and a camping ground to camp along the lake too.

The views in the coves of this lake are magnificent! We had the best time cruising the lake. There were many people on the water but it did not feel crowded at all. We will definitely be back!

The water was so clear and the landscape was amazing. Spent the day on the water with my family and would recommend this during your visit.

Beautiful lake with great scenery lots of room and friendly people. Clean water lots of hidden coves and lots of islands. Will be going back.

The lake has many attractions. We love to fish and kayak. It is beautiful with lots of things for families and/or couples to do while staying in the cabins

Great outdoor vacation. You can rent houseboats, jet skis, fishing boats, and great cabins/camping places. The water is very clear here, and the scenery is very nice. This would be a great place for a family vacation, romantic getaway, or girls' weekend.

If you are in the area, this lake is definitely worth a visit. It is one of the nicest lakes I have been on.

Great Lake to visit, the area was clean and the topography very nice. I recommend getting out on the water on a nice day. One of the more beautiful lakes in OK.

Beautiful lake, boat rentals available, great for pictures. Family enjoyed the views of the body of water

Well-structured and staffed Marina, decent parking - although this July 4th weekend, the launch point was a bit popular - but staff kept things moving at a good clip - launching was surprisingly fast.
The many coves, islands, and entirely wooded, beautiful areas, with some spectacular rock outcroppings for interest or leaping off into the lake made for great visual and active enjoyment.
Plenty of room for skiing and tubing and whatevering. Kayak on the lake, or take a short trip to the other side of the spillway for river floats or kayak fun and adventure. This area is just plain beautiful.

The lake was beautiful but it was too chilly to do any activities on the lake although if it had been warmer, we would have taken the boat duck tour.

The lake has great views. We were there for a Valentine weekend getaway and the lake provided a place to take a relaxing walk. The shore was a little rocky but the beauty of the area made up for it.

We were VERY impressed with your cabin, but even more than that, this entire getaway has been nothing but "top notch". You guys are really on top of your game and we are already talking about making this an annual event. Thanks again for a great getaway!
Sincerely,
J.M.

The recent flooding has washed out some roads and closed some businesses for repairs. It's still early in the season so it's not in full swing. The lake is still very high with many picnic areas and camping areas still under water. Although the lake is extraordinarily clear for the lake levels.

The Lakeview Lodge, a STATE lodge, is sitting right on Broken Bow Lake. Absolutely worth checking into if you love a beautiful nature setting.

The lake is as always beautiful. Even if the Corps of Engineers let the lake get way too low this year.

Beautiful, peaceful like. Would definitely return if in area. Saw lots of deer, birds, got great pics!

Broken Bow Lake is very scenic and beautiful despite being a man made lake. Gorgeous trees surround the lake and you can swim, boat, or fish there! One of my favorite places in this part of the country!

We love Broken Bow. Have gone every summer for the past 3 years. Short drive from DFW area and beautiful lake and surrounding community

This is one of my favorite lakes to visit because it is absolutely beautiful with great views. This year it seemed like the lake was a little lower than normal, but it could just be this way to me since I normally come in the summer and fall. This was our first trip in the month of March and it will not be our last. This lake has cleaner looking water than some of the others we've been to. If you do not have your own boat or jet ski, that's not a problem because plenty of places rent them out. If you want to enjoy the lake without renting you can do a Duck tour, but with the money you will spend on that for 5 people you could have added a little more to it and rented your own boat.

We rented a nearby cabin and drove to the lake just about everyday. Each time we would explore a different location. By far our favorite spot was the peninsula just past Beavers Bend Marina. The views from this spot were amazing. I'm from the north, and this area reminds me of northern Wisconsin. Can't wait to return.

All the kids loved the boating and swimming. There a several places to hike and several places to swim and rent kayaks.
there are numerous locations for picnics.

By far the prettiest lake in Oklahoma. Fishing, boating, swimming. A little crowded on weekends in the summer, but get out on the lake and you'll find a quiet spot...plenty of room

We did not go IN the water, simply enjoyed the view. The view from the dam area is wonderful. Maybe next time we'll charter a boat and get closer to the water.

Beautiful lake and surrounding state park area. The wildlife and park areas are worth the drive to broken bow

Went out on the lake for a family afternoon. The water was clear and calm. Not too much traffic on the water. Beautiful lake.

Perfection! One of the most beautiful lakes we’ve seen. We like to knee board and need very smooth water. This lake provides lots of nice coves where the water is smooth. The water was a very nice temp on Labor Day and crystal clear! Truly gorgeous scenery. We rented a boat from the marina and enjoyed ourselves all afternoon. Highly recommend!

This is such a beautiful lake!! Took so many great photos! Enjoyed a real tranquil afternoon, can’t wait to come back

We visited in early November, when the leaves were changing and it was gorgeous! We look forward to returning in the summer and renting a boat!

I usually just drive up to look at the lake, but my friends enjoy taking a boat out on it. Some of them have knee boards and jet skis, too. The lake itself is beautiful in every season.

The lake was very pretty. It appeared to be very clean. We observed several people fishing. It also had swimming areas.

Joe McIntyre is a former drag boat racer. He now owns and drives the only jet boat on the lake. My wife and I decided to try this. For a full 45 minutes, we raced around the lake while Joe, showed off some unbelievable maneuvers with his jet boat. The ride was exhilarating. Joe is a true professional, and gave us a heads up prior to those fancy moves. This is not a sail boat. You are going to get wet, but during a hot July afternoon, it was more than welcomed. We did cruise along the shoreline as Joe pointed out some very interesting facts about the lake and national forest. We were apprehensive at first but Joe gave us the run down on what we would be doing and when. This was most definitely the best time we had during our stay. We were very comfortable during our ride, knowing we were in good hands. It was an AWESOME experience, and will definitely do it again. You ARE truly a professional and all around cool guy. Thanks Joe.

Ok, I have been around pristine lakes in northern Wisconsin, but this lake really exceeded my expectation. It is so clean and pure. You feel like you are the only one on the lake and there are so many coves and shoreline views to enjoy.
The lake is deep and you don't have to worry about shallow water. We rented a boat dock at the Marina on the lake (there is only one) and we brought our boat from Texas and had no issues. It is really a treat to also drive around the lake in the State Parks as well. You won't regret the solitude!

First time to Broken Bow lake and my family was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful, clear, rock bottom lake surrounded by trees and rolling hills. All of the different islands in the lake make this truly unique. Corp of Engineering land so there are no homes/businesses on the lake, so you truly feel secluded and a part of nature. Wasn't crowded at all. Tons of different coves you can go into and explore. Only one marina - which was perfectly fine. We really enjoyed ourselves and will certainly be back.

We have been there a number of times and it is such a great spot to have a good time, relax, recharge, and reconnect with your loved one. It is a great location for us from Dallas and it is worth the three hour drive. It is a nice calm drive as well. The lake is peaceful and seren. Great options for activities... Rentals, hiking, canoeing, kyaking, fishing, etc. One of our favorite spots on Earth... And we are on a quest for serenity and zen 👍

We rented a pontoon boat at the marina. Beautiful lake and surroundings, no homes so very peaceful. Very clean and despite the heat it was a wonderful 2 hour cruise.

We go here every fall to see the foliage. Beautiful every time! Lots of things to do at the lake. I definitely recommend!

After such a bleak winter, a couple of days of sun made so much difference. We grabbed some sandwiches and drinks and made it a nice picnic. So lovely

Prettiest lake in Oklahoma. Beautiful water. Beautiful scenery. Take some tunes with you though because there is not much radio or cell. signal.

Its peaceful, calm waters are perfect for wake boarding. Its clear mountain fed water. Im told fishing is good as well

My family absolutely loves this place. The lake not holds good times and tons of fun, but brings great peace and beauty. Has beautiful water that does not smell. And its always cool. Great fishing activities including fly fishing opportunities. Canoeing and swimming available as well as boating. Nature is Soo in tune with this lake. Really holds up to the beauty of Oklahoma

This lake is beautiful. We visit every year for a family reunion. Everywhere you go on and around this lake there are photo worthy scenes. The area is great and the fishing below the dam is pretty good too, for what I hear. Definitely a family friendly place.

We rented a cabin nearby and cane to the lake to enjoy swimming and views. There’s a ton of commercial things for the kids to do but we were here for a short time.
To swim: drive out past the beaver bend marina and follow your gps to the end of the peninsula. There’s some gorgeous swimming spots along the way. Peaceful and empty, just float and enjoy the views.

I have been coming to this lake since the mid 70's and it is the most beautiful lake in Oklahoma........it's also one of the best fishing lakes if you go at the right time. The right time for fishing? Spring and fall. In the summer it's a great party lake for Texans mostly. The water is clear and the islands and mountains around the lake make you think you're in Canada. Make at least one trip here wether you like to fish or party on the beautiful waters of Broken Bow lake.

The lake was beautiful as well as the scenery! Although it was cold they offer so much to do. Fly fishing was amazing!! The water is super clear! If you're an early bird you're sure to see plenty of deer roaming unafraid of humans.

The lake is beautiful and so calm is the atmosphere. We sat there and watched the sunset. It was certainly a heavenly experience..

I like that this lake is cleaner than most I've seen. Where I went in, I could still see my feet when the water was almost chest high. Beautiful surroundings.

Great place to bring your boat! Clean water, open spaces. Wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be over Spring Break which was fun for us.

We stayed at a nearby rental theme cabin Leanin' Hickory and drove around the different camping sites for a place to fish. We counted 29 deer very close to the campgrounds and that was awesome. We banked fish but can fly fish but will bring a boat next round.

Broken Bow lake is a must see! If you do not own a boat I highly recommend traveling with someone who does or rent one from the marina. This lake is so beautiful and the water is cool and clear! You will need water shoes, this lake is lined with beautiful rocks. I cannot wait to return to this area.

The view there is amazing. Multiple different smaller parks encompass the lake! Rent a boat or bring your kayaks. There are a lot of places to fish also.

This is one of the most beautiful lakes in the US....Pristine shoreline, clear water and is surrounded by mountains and beautiful pine trees.

Clear cool water that cant be found anywhere else. Fishing is Fantastic. Locals are nice and helpful. If you do not know how to fish you can hire a guide and they will see to it that you catch fish. Love everything about this place and I will most defiantly be back.

Loved all of the activity to do, and beautiful scenery to view all around. We will be back to take in more of this peaceful setting soon.

Skip stones with your children on this misty, mountain lake. There’s bird watchers looking for Eagles nesting, plethora deer, woodpecker tapping in the distance, colorful tree colors, & places with, or without people.
We left the city for some peace, and found our children delighting in the world around them. Nostalgia for my husband, but we’d never had the pleasure of such peace. Thank you

I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors, fishing and hiking. My family had a great time at the lake

Huge lake with many coves. Marina guys are very helpful. We come here every summer and it never disappoints.

Nice. Just drove round exploring. Leaves were changing so the scenery was excellent. Will bring boat next time

Really clear and beautiful lake. We typically rental a boat from the marina and explore and jump in! It's spring fed and always clear even in the hot summer months. Theres some very pretty campgrounds surrounding the area ( not my bag but looks like happy campers out there). Don't hesitate to check it all out.

Beautiful lake surrounded by nature at its finest. So much to do here, rent boats, jetski's or just hike and spend time enjoying the quiet nature that is Broken Bow!

Absolutely stunning lake! Very little development in and around the lake and that's what makes it so pristine and beautiful. We loved the low key environment and loved the fact that it wasn't overdeveloped with houses, boat docks, restaurants and stores. We hope it stays that way. Truly a place to relax and just enjoy the natural surroundings and not be obsessed and/or annoyed about your lack of cell phone service.

Great swimming lake, beautiful scenery, not much traffic. If you want to fish be prepared for deep clear lake.

WOW, WOW, WOW!!!!! My husband and I trailer both of our boats all over Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Arkansas, so I feel fairly comfortable in giving this lake a triple WOW review.
Clean, clear water. We didn't see a single house, power line, or sign of life on this lake (once you get away from the state park). In fact, we would pick a different cove to hang out in everyday and some days we didn't see another boat! Incredible!!!
We took a nice long boat ride up the lake (probably a 30-45 minute run) before we turned around. During that entire trip we only saw 3 or 4 other boats. Just amazing. The lake is nice and deep, which is terrific considering the low lake levels everywhere else. The state parks are free and the boat ramps are free, another nice perk of this lake.
If you are looking for a party lake with a party cove and bars / restaurants on the lake, this is not the lake. If you are looking for peace, quiet and nature, this is the lake for you!
Bring your GPS because there are not a lot of landmarks and you won't find a passing boat if you need assistance or if you navigate the lake after dark. There are a lot of little islands, so again, if you are traveling this lake at night GPS is recommended.

Some of the views on the lake are just breathtaking. Fish, swim, and just have fun. Even though it is a busy lake, there are spots where you can find seclusion.

It had rained the morning that we were going to go hiking and then swim in the lake. We decided to skip the hiking as the trails would be muddy and decided to just spend the afternoon swimming. The lake looked beautiful, but driving around it was all we were able to do. All the areas we tried to go to were packed and we could not find anywhere to park. There was a few off road spots where a truck or jeep could park without getting stuck. We will certainly be making another trip to the area and will be coming in my husbands jeep!

What a beautiful lake! We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and loved driving around. There are some stunning views as you drive and we were both impressed with this lake. We will be back!

Beautiful lake. Clean, clear, and deep. Gorgeous scenery surrounding the lake. We played golf and some of the holes backed up to the lake. It was absolutely beautif!

Rented a deck boat from the marina and spent the day on some amazing water. A hot day on the water is wonderful. Water clear and cool and what views. Mountain lakes are the best. Large enough lake to explore and during the week hardly any other boats to worry about. Deck boat had enough power to tow a couple people on a tube and enough seating for 7 adults and 3 children. Had a awesome time.

Beautiful clear-water lake unspoiled by waterfront housing development. Surrounded by hills and trees. No entry fee to the lake but there is a $10 parking fee; $8 for Oklahoma residents--you text a number and pay via your phone. The parking fee was confusing...pay once or every time you stop, park and leave your car? The state park is not located on the main lake. There are several areas along the west side of the lake with boat ramps, boat parking and a handful of picnic tables with some water access. Each picnic table was numbered to reserve. A boat to fish is a big plus. Grab a map of the lake area because it can be a little confusing. Oh, and for the rock hounds...beautiful quartz rocks to be found around the lake.

Clean Lake (rock bottom not mud) and a great place to go. You can camp, fish, boat, and swim. Local food and beer is Great and the State Park is full of adventure for the kids.

Beautiful lake and very warm water. Wear water shoes, even the beach is very rocky. Was a deep lake too - so we could anchor the boat on shore and still jump off the back of the boat and be plenty deep. We put the boat in at the dock opposite of the main marina - was very easy to get in and out.

The lake is very scenic, beautiful water if you can get to it. A boat is needed to really enjoy this lake. Rentals are really expensive.

Amazing views and plenty of activities to keep you busy, just wish I had more time!! Definitely worth the travel.

We really enjoyed our selfs here and will def come back...beautiful lake and you can fish here too...the fish were not really interested in us to much but its pretty cool place to come and enjoy

Located in Beavers Bend State Park. Just beautiful and clean. Lots of water activities and the fishing is supposed to be the best. Can't wait to return.

Spent the weekend at the lodge and enjoyed driving to the different areas around the lake. Highway 259A was closed from flood damage a few weeks ago so some of the areas we wanted to see we couldn't get to.

We go every year! Love it!! We always rent a boat for 4-5 hours with a tube and wake board. Kids love it and so do we and so do our dogs that go with us. The most beautiful lake!

Broken Bow Lake and nearby Beaver's Bend State Park are a hidden jewel for sure! Great family getaway with my favorite thing being just sitting by the river and watching the water hit the rocks! Hiking is fabulous and the little museum is a good see.

The view looks like something you would see in Hawaii. The lake is clear and the water was a good temp. Boat launch was nice and we had a great day on the water. We ancored off one of the islands, fished, tubed, and just played in the water. It was a wonderful day. This was my first time to visit the lake and I was amazed by how deep the lake was and how beautiful. The little islands make it feel like you are the only person on the lake. We are actually driving up again in two weeks to go again. :)

I’m a fan of lakes, and have been to many. Those family reunions back in the 80’s is where it all began for me. And, although most of my lake adventures have been limited to Arkansas, I have also spent some time on Texas lakes, and even a hike up to Lake Michigan. Lake Broken Bow is definitely up in the top three most beautiful lakes I have ever been to. Viewing the landscape while on the lake is glorious: rolling hilly terrain with lush green foliage, interesting cliffs and rock formations. When I was there, it was calm with very little traffic, perfect for a day of water skiing and relaxing on a pontoon (rented from the local marina).

We spent a week in the area and visited this lake quite a few times. We found it to be very pretty with plenty of nature to take in. We even saw a bald eagle which was a first for me in the wild. We will definitely return to this lake in the future.

I LOVED IT HERE!! My family and I rented a boat for a day and it was SO much fun. You are surrounded by green and blue when you're on the lake and there are many places you can stop the boat, get out and enjoy some relaxing time in the water!!

We visited Marina and did not rent a boat but found a many options to choose from. If we go back we will definitely consider a rental of a Pontoon or Ski Boat.

Beautiful place ... I'm from here a lot we have a lot tourist from Tx and Ark some Oklahoma but mostly TX... Good place to bring your camper and family or your spouse of bf just place to get away and so peace you have to come visit and plus you bring your boat

Beautiful Views , Peaceful, Great Fishing and the trail s well mapped , lots of wildlife and some trails may be difficult

Beautiful Lake where we have rented a boat and jet skis in the past. The lake is not too accessible unless you go to the lodge or marina.

Nice marina at this lake. Really busy over the 4th of July. Lots of activities at the lake for the family.

Cruising the lake. The water was cool and the sights were beautiful. Hochatown has really grown over the last two years.

I grew up in Broken Bow and was privileged to witness the building and birth of one of the most beautiful lakes that I have seen in this part of the country. This lake is deep and clear... about 190ft in the river channel. Absolutely clear water. You can drop a spinner bait down 20-30 ft deep on a sunny day and still see it. Great crappie and bass fishing at night! For bass at night fish the points with a black spinner bait with a single large blade... you'll have the time of your life.
The lake is approximately 21 miles long, with the lower 7 miles cleared for recreation. Beautiful campgrounds, both primitive and modern with electricity, are located on two lake access roads. Very busy and a bit crowded in the summer months... when school starts back it is virtually empty and you can have your pick of perfect camping sites. There are a couple of bath houses available with showers on Stevens Gap Access Road. There is also a hotel for those that do not want to camp. Fall fishing is wonderful... be sure to take your camera also. Great photo opportunities in the fall.
Overall this lake is one of my favorites. There is still a primitive feel about the lake and campgrounds. Not too commercialized. You will absolutely fall in love with this lake.

It's very huge lake. There is opportunity for jet ski, motorized boats. It's fun with family and friends. We had fun and enjoyed. It's clean lake

I seen like little islands on the lake which I thought was amazing. Breathtaking views. It was cold outside when we went but we still had a great time. Tons of trees, areas to canoe and go boating and fishing. Will definitely be back. A must see for the family.

This is our first trip to Broken Bow lake. The cabin we stayed at was outstanding. We took wave runners and also rented a pontoon boat. The lake is clear the water is calm. There are plenty of coves to anchor into. The rock formations along the shore are amazing. Very interesting geological setting. The golf course was beautiful and very challenging. We went on a guided fishing trip one morning and caught fish and got to see all of the lake. Great restaurants with really good live music. Good shopping for the girls in the family. We had a fantastic time and will definitely come back to this area.

Hiked down the rocky trails to the lake shore and enjoyed the warm water for swimming and sun bathing. Plenty of nearby cabins, camping and RV camping.

The entire area is beautiful and lots of camping / cabin options or I suggest the Lakeview Lodge. One of the most beautiful lakes I have ever seen. I am looking forward to our next trip.

A very clean lake!! Big! I was surprised they had someone at the docks to help you in and out of your boat. Huge marina.went swimming in the lake, lots of clear water, so clear you could see your feet in 20 ft of water..

enjoyed a lovely cabin, a slightly strenuous hike (1 mile tree hike, had a few ups and downs and a few confusing spots where we werent sure which way to go) and some good food (Grateful Head Pizza and Pub). Will return for sure and be better prepared to enjoy more of the sites and amenities around.

I thought it was beautiful, and so did my husband. We will be going back to camp and kayak. It is very peaceful and quiet.

We are pretty spontaneous about trips. We do not plan far ahead, so this was a great place for us to just go for a 24 hr. trip, only 2.5 hours away! Had a great time! We will definately go back!

Really deep lake. Average depth is 77' during most of the year. 22 islands mostly rock. It's one of a kind in Oklahoma.

If you're looking for a change of scenery Broken Bow Lake is it! The water is gorgeous and surrounded by the mountains of Oklahoma. There is lots to do and see around the lake as well. We found horseback riding, train rides, hiking trails, River floats, paddle boating, golf and so much more! If you're looking for a fun weekend this is it! There are many wonderful cabins in the area to stay in as well!

love crystal clear water, beautiful scenery, best place to be alot of fun activities see wildlife search for crystals

Broken Bow is absolutely stunning and an amazing place to get away and relax! My family and I go almost every year! We have has amazing cabins in the past years until this year :/ Our current cabin is called “Spirit of the winds” it has been greats so far until tonight. I was getting ready to go to sleep and my legs and neck are noticeably itchy so I get my flashlight and I look at the sheets to find small hairs, crumbs, and wood chips this is absolutely disgusting and revolting and I’m extremely disappointed. The fact that someone is that lazy that you can wash some bed sheets is absolutely ridiculous. Don’t stay at this cabin!!

Deep, clear and beautiful water. Excellent for fishing, boating, jet skis. We waded in the river below the dam and fished. The water was so cold and we caught quite a few fish. When the whistle blows be careful because they are letting water out of the lake and the river rises about 4 feet in a matter of minutes. Very cool to watch.

At the Festival of the Forest...we stopped at the lake. Actually it was the Summer of 2014...we were there for the Festival...

What a beautiful area of Oklahoma! The water is so clear and you can see a million stars at night. Our trip started on labor day so when we were going to the lake we passed many people pulling boats, leaving the lake. Talk about having the lake to yourself. We loved our stay.

Enjoyed by our whole family, something for all ages. Swim, camping, fish, go tubing, boating, ride jet ski's or just hang out and enjoy the beautiful out doors. It's a beautiful place to visit at anytime of the year. Just get out and enjoy the outdoors.

OMG, what a beautiful lake! As I understand, traffic “in season” (summer), is pretty dangerous. That said, there were hardly any visitors around the lake or park visitor center while we were there.
The lake was almost like glass & offered some incredible views.

If you've not been to Broken Bow Lake, you are missing out! The water is as clear as Aquafina. I generally hate lake water, but not this lake water. The Mt. Fork River fills the gorgeous mountains with crisp, clean and clear water that is so refreshing. I've heard stories of the healing properties of the water. All I know is that I feel fresh and rejuvenated after a quick dip in this pristine natural wonder.

I'm from Oregon so finding a clear water lake in Oklahoma was amazing. This is a fantastic lake for kayaking, fishing, and much more. Loved our visit

We have came up here 3 times in the last 9 months from the Dallas area and must say if you have to get away, this is it. Very quiet lake compared to any I have been on in Texas.

Nice beautiful lake. We rented a pontoon from Beavers Bend Marina and enjoyed cruising, tubing, and swimming at the lake.

While in town for a while, we drove to Broken Bow Lake, had a picnic, dipped our toes in the water, and enjoyed the scenery.

Beautiful lake to camp, fish or just have a picnic! We saw lots of people enjoying boating and just having fun swimming and playing in the water.

Broken Bow Lake is very beautiful.
That being said, everything involved with getting to the lake and the surrounding area is far too difficult. Traffic is absolutely terrible getting in and out of the area. There is (or seems to be) only one way in and out off 259 and depending on the time you are going to have a very long drive. There are no traffic signals on the main turn to get to the lake, and if you are trying to turn left on 259 when you are leaving or if you are ever trying to turn on 259 crossing traffic it is a crapshoot and can take an excessively long time. It seems like the entire surrounding area was suddenly surprised that people visit the area and nobody has done any planning, except for the fact that there are souvenir shops everywhere. Getting in and out of the marina was equally congested and time consuming. Getting in and out of our cabin (which was a stunningly beautiful home) was also equally difficult as the gravel “road” in and out was full of enormous potholes and should have required a 4x4 truck - a fact which was not communicated to us.
So, as much as I hate to sound like a grumpy old man, it is not somewhere we will return. However, the lake itself is truly amazing once you are on it.

The water is deep and clear. The lake is surrounded by beautiful pine trees and you can find islands with little beaches. It’s just beautiful

Although we didn't camp, the camping near the lake looked like fun, as well as the boating. We drove around and admired the views. It was beautiful. Swimming and fishing areas were available too,

Just a beautiful lake! Several secluded coves to pull your boat into to kick back an swim, while also plenty of lake to wakeboard and tube in. Beautiful pines and oaks all around. Very nice marina and boat launch. Several good restaurants in the area.

tucked in the southeast corner of Oklahmoa, this is a hidden gem. Enjoyed this at the end of the Talimena Scenic Hwy on the way to Arkansas. Will definately plan a trip back to enjoy more.

Loved the views, trees just starting to turn, misty chilly day, just drove around, walked down on rocks to a river, very dramatic scenery

Wow, big lake, can be lots of wind, fish species abound in this lake. Caught walleye, crappie, sand bass, largemouth, and sunfish. There are adequate ramps (some you need to go down long dirt roads to use but you can get to remote places by kayak by launching at these ramps. The water is clear and you can find some pretty secluded spots to all yourself if you like to not fish around other people.

We used Lakeview Lodge as our base for leaf-peeping the 1st weekend of November. The drive to the lodge was beautiful-the trees were really showing off. Our room was clean and comfortable and had a spectacular view of the lake and sunrise. There is a nature trail that starts right at the office that we enjoyed. We saw several Bald Eagles flying around the lake which was really cool. There are a couple of other areas of the state park; the area along the river had some really beautiful fall foliage. The Forest Heritage Museum was more interesting than I expected.
The drive north heading to the Talimena Scenic Byway was awesome!

Great place to go. Wish it was in walking distance of the cabin. It was very calm when we were there.

Amazing views but too deep for any good fishing. Lots of hiking trails & little hideouts. Nice to have a picnic. This lake was started in 1961 & water filled by 68.

Beautiful lake and plenty of fun activities. Boat rentals, jet ski rentals, trike rentals, zip line. Boat tours. Kids 12 and 8 had a great time

We visit the lake every year and we love it. We always rent a boat and a jetski and we love the way they treat us at the Marina. Their prices are kind of high but it's all worth it. We never pay more than we have to, the people at the Marina are always nice and make sure you are happy. We also went down hwy 259A and visited the creek. At the creek they have pedaling boats and kayaks for the whole family. Lots and lots of fun.

Just really saw the edge of the lake from Beavers Bend State Park. Very beautiful. Would like to return and see more when I have more time

We absolutely loved this lake. All of the views are gorgeous. There are plenty places to dock your boat, or swim on the beach. It wasn’t nearly as packed as I thought it would be. We will definitely be back.

We went to Broken Bow, Oklahoma with several friends to bring in the New Year. We rented a cabin, we visited several breweries, played games, hiked. There is so much to do. We were next to the Ouchita National Park. Scenery is unbelievable. There are many cabins there to rent. Ours was beautiful with all the rustic touches inside & out. Highly recommend visiting.

We always enjoy this place and have made some sweet memories. My grandson and I skipped rocks . He didnt want to leave.

Find quiet inspiration. The rocky shoreline, high mountains, and blue skies are ready for you. Bring your binoculars, camera, paint easel, or journal. Restroom available.

We enjoyed being around Broken Bow lake and the Mountain Fork River while visiting for a few days earlier this month. This reservoir was constructed in 1968 in Southeast Oklahoma around 8 miles north of the city of Broken Bow and a few miles east of Hochatown.
Located within the Beaver's Bend State Park, the lake is fed by the Mountain Fork River which fills the lake with clear blue waters. It is popular with fisherman, boaters and those wanting to holiday on and around the beautiful lake and state park. We had a great time and look forward to doing another vacation around Broken Bow Lake in the future.

Broken Bow Lake is a beautiful spot to escape and enjoy nature in eastern Oklahoma. We hiked several of its trails and saw its rushing rapids. There are water sports available plus nearby cabins and campgrounds for lodging. Definitely worth a trip if you love the outdoors.

The lake was huge! And breathtaking. Water is so crystal clear. Boys went fishing for a day, caught a good 30+ bass! Can't wait to travel back to the area, maybe in summer months when we can go swimming!

Lake is scenic due to fact that no homes are built on shore, just fabulous unaltered shorelines. Boat rental is recommended! Also nice swimming.

Trout, bass, crappie abundant. Ride a horse, ride a train, ride a zip line. Or just sit back and watch the sunset which will be followed by grazing deer...

This area in Oklahoma boasts natural beauty that can rejuvenate your soul. I enjoy simple pleasures such as skipping rocks on the lake. The gentle lapping of the water is very soothing. There are plenty of spots along the lake where you can hear yourself think. But, if you so choose to participate in the excitement of water activities you can easily do so. Camping sites are well located to view the water. The state state park has an very informative museum about forestry and various wood industry and crafts.

Launched my Hobie Outback at Lakeview lodge area where was staying. Access hard due to rocky hill and closure due to high water. Next time will use Marina.
Pretty lake lots of coves to fish and get out of wind. Water was high, trees and picnic tables in lake. Day I was there weather perfect, sunny little wind.
My first time fishing here, new lakes a challenge to catch fish without local knowledge.
Lots of opportunities to rent boats, kayaks etc for family fun.

When I worked, I took every opportunity to get an assignment to travel here. The lake is breautiful, and the state has established a trout fishery in the river below the damn, so there is trout fishing as well as good bass fishing in the lake.
Located in southeast Oklahoma, you won't believe you are in Oklahoma: there are Ozark mountains, huge forests and clear running streams and rivers. Just a beautiful place to stay and play.

Beautiful lake, did not have to pay an entrance fee everytime we entered the park. The marina has jet skis and boats for rent at reasonable prices

My husband and I are from NY/CT. After living in the DFW area for a year we were so happy to find Broken Bow. It’s a nice escape from the city. It gave us a little bit if what we miss from New England, which is really just the trees. We were disappointed to find that while vacationing there you don’t escape people from the metroplex. All in all, it is a wonderful place to get away. My advise is that if you have a cabin that you absolutely bring your own food. If you like organic produce and the like you will be out of luck here. The restaurants are not great and the variety at the grocery store is limited.

Absolutely Beautiful lake!! Must visit and relax and enjoy! Lots to do or do nothing! First trip and will be tradition!

Broken Bow Lake has so many different places to explore. We would recommend this as a place to visit and stay. Many different place to explore.

My husband and I are staying in our camper on Beaver's Bend State Park. My husband and I have spent 2 evening with our 2 dogs swimming in this beautiful lake. We picnicked one day and grilled the next. We saw people swimming, fishing, tubing, we saw boats out in the water. We saw deer feeding nearby. The water is cool, clear and clean. The parks that you can stop and picnic and swim at are very well kept as well. We had a blast!

The lake is huge with many places to swim, fish, picnic, camp, etc. . . . The water is clear, the property is well maintained and the facilities are clean. Great place to take the family. You can hire a fishing guide, rent a boat, rent a cabin, visit the museum, eat at Foggy Bottom. You will enjoy your visit.

Love the lake. lots of fun. Clean as well. The whole family enjoyed it. I am very iffy with lakes, they scare me a bit but this lake was just beautiful.

We spent a long weekend at Broken Bow - hiking, swimming and eating Catfish! A lot of fun for all the Family deep in Oklahoma!

Husband and I brought our pontoon to spend the day on the lake. Very beautiful. Most times, we felt like we were the only ones on the lake it is that big. Downside is parking at the marina. Need to get there early if you parking with the trailer.

Our family of 12 spent a week here to celebrate our parents 50th Anniversary. The lake was amazingly beautiful. It was clean, clear and very scenic. We all had a fantastic time boating, fishing and swimming. Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful area.

Something for everyone, from boating, swimming, fishing and relaxing. The area below the dam is absolutely stunning and looks like your next to a stream in Montana or Colorado.

The lake is beautiful to look at and it's an awesome boating lake and it's the best place to be in SE Oklahoma.

The weather was absolutely awful but this place was still amazing. Totally worth some time. Will go back with the family again

We had a beautiful two hours exploring this huge, beautiful lake. The Marina folks are great, and we loved the wakeboard boat (aka speed boat, aka ski boat). It was an expensive 2 hours for 1 couple but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

We drove along the scenic lake and hiked the friendship trail . The pay to park system worked for us with ATT but some Verizon people had issues. Trails and scenery were beautiful and we saw many deer up close.

We were camping in Beaver's Bend state park and spent one of the days on the lake. The lake is beautiful and clear. The water was smooth with only 4 or 5 other boats out that day. It is a large lake with several islands in the middle. There are also places to hike around the lake. It was a very peaceful, relaxing day. We were only able to find 3 boat ramps - one at the marina, one across from the marina, and one at Lakeview Lodge. The ramps are not well marked so we had to drive a while to find one.

Clear water. Great fishing. Several rivers and streams to canoe, kayak or fish for trout, etc. For those with kids or who are kids at heart. Inside the state park areas are several great places for rock skipping. Some of the best ever. We really enjoyed this lake and I plan on taking the family for a visit in the future.

If you make the trip to Broken Bow and Hochatown and don't take the time to go to the lake, you've missed the main attraction! This is simply the reason for all the other! The view from the dam alone is a wonder! Bring your own lock and add it the fence at the dam as a memorial to your love or just because! Whatever you do - take the time to see the lake! It is peaceful and beautiful!

We enjoyed the beauty of this place on a day trip last month. The lake is beautiful, and the view is lovely from the deck at the Lodge. There are all sorts of activities for every age including paddle boats/canoes, picnic tables, fishing, boat rentals, and more.

Crystal clear water, surrounded by mountains, has independent islands, and is so expansive that it can have hundreds of boats but still feel like you are there by yourself!

The lake is absolutely beautiful, the only bad thing about the lake is the house boat owners. They are beyond rude and act like you bother them being there. We had an experience with a few and they called the park rangers in. Way out of line and it was our 1st time at the lake so it was all new to us. They ruined the whole experience for us. The marina is to small for the amount of traffic they have coming in too.

One of the best kept secrets in Oklahoma! Need to come to Southeast Oklahoma and see the mountains, Broken Bow Lake and the surrounding area.

Great weekend getaway we were a little late for a cabin but we got a hotel room in Idabel at comfort suites. Great breakfast everyday. Well within driving distance to the activities. Great little shops. Beavers bend was great. The lake was peaceful. Would definitely go again.

Although the Fall leaves are not at their peak of color it was an enjoyable trip. We stayed in the cabin and although our cabin was not a renovated one it was quiet and peaceful.

This is a tough one. The winery itself was great. The young man was knowledgeable and very friendly. On the other hand the bistro had poor service, it seemed we were abandoned. Also, I ordered a Greek salad. I got a salad with feta and olives…if they didn’t have tomatoes and cucumbers they should have said so and I would have ordered something else,

We've been going to Beaver's Bend State Park for years! Its a wonderful place to camp out, get a cabin, experience nature, swim in crystal clear waters, fish and much more. We go back every year.

Met our guide (Bryce A.) at Lakeview Lodge at 7am on a Saturday morning. The lake was unbelievably beautiful. Very calm at that time of the morning. Too bad we didn't have any skis! WE proceeded to catch walleye, striped bass and sand bass. We had a wonderful time with Bryce. We have fish stories!

We took a nice drive across the damn. This is a Beautiful Lake. we don.t do water sports or fish but I would bet this would be the place for both. They release fish every other week and you can check the web for when and where. Boat and jet ski rentals are all around. Or you can just relax with a picnic lunch.

Spent a couple hours swimming in the lake and going for a boat ride! Best way to spend the afternoon with family.

Caught Smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass, water is very clear. Running around is easy ramps and parking is good

I loved the beautiful large hardwood and pine trees, sking, boat rentals, lake fishing, trout streams, the people, great cabin choices, Beavers Bend state park with it's horse back riding, tubing, paddle boats, 20 minute park train ride, Hay ride, Gift Shop, Wilderness Museum with authentic old cabins, Restaurants Adam & Eve Coffee House, Grateful Head, Abendigos and the list goes on...

This is a beautiful lake with spectacular views and great fishing. But the lodge/cabins are in bad shape. Be wary of the accommodations, but enjoy this pretty lake.

What a beautiful lake!! We went to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery and that we did!! Everything was clean and well marked on places to stop and overlook! Watched people fly fishing, just beautiful

This lake is very big and must be rocky bottom because it was so clear you could see the end of your feet. Beautiful shoreline. We found a little cove and swam around and my son skipped rocks from one side to the other - about 50 yards. Great fun!

The scenery and friendly people in store and restaurants. We had all ages with us from 5 to 62 and everyone in the family enjoyed the trip. We all enjoyed hiking and sightseeing around the lake.

Always have a great time here, Young and old alike.
(Trip Advisor- I dont want to use 50 characters!!!)

We had a wonderful time in the lake. The water is very very cold... but find once you get in... beautiful scenery and wildlife... we will be back

The lake is unique by Texas standards. The shoreline is clear of residences and boat houses as lakes come in Texas. The water is cool and very clear with a depth of over 180 feet in spots.
The best way to view the lake is by boat since roads around the lake are few and not marked well for tourists.
As a mobility impaired person, I noted that there are limited accessible areas other than at the river or museums. Access to the lake by land would be difficult. There are more accessible areas below the dam on the Mountain Fork river.
We plan on returning and renting a boat next summer

You can rent a jet ski or a house boat! It is a Huge lake with clear water. Lots of camp grounds in the area also.

Very nice lake and amenities. Great views from around the lake. Trout stream in the area and several nice shops.

Even though this isn't the closest lake to our house this is the one we go to the most. It's so much cleaner and clearer than the others. It's beautiful and we love to take the boat out and fish all day here, we just take an ice chest with some food and drinks and relax and enjoy the day!! Love this lake :)

Great lake. Lots of places to explore. Rocky bottom close to shore.
Tried our hand at fishing with lures, bit didn’t know where or with what to use. Enjoyed just exploring shore line.

I loved Broken Bow Lake. We took a short vacation to Broken Bow in July. We loved Broken Bow Lake because the water was perfect with beautiful clear water. The scenery around the lake is gorgeous and there are many things to do. I would go back if I could and stay longer! :)

There were 40 of us for a family vacation. The lake was amazing and lots of things to do in the area. We did ride the ducks and the captain was so informable of the lake, the wildlife, and the history of the area. We felt safe at all times. Some of the family went kayaking, and we all rode the mini train. Then some even ziplined. The lake is not crowed or over populated. They have something for everybody.

This is a large lake and I was surprised as we were there Labor Day weekend to find it not crowded at all. Nice marina, dock area, nice beaches to swim and again lots of wide open space with clean, clear water. Water was a little cool but not so much that you can't enjoy yourself (and it felt good on a hot afternoon). Definitely a place we will return to.

Great place to go for fishing and swimming! We found a secluded spot to swim by ourselves with a shade tree for ones who couldn't take the heat. There's plenty to do for all ages and rv spots or great cabins.

The mountains surrounding the lake and all of the pine trees were beautiful. Looked like there were several water activities available, but we were just sightseeing. What a pretty sight it was.

We found a lot of places to take photos of the scenery. Water level was high due to recent rains so there were plenty of places to photograph running water and the ducks were awesome to watch on the water.

Our second visit here did not disappoint. We come to relax, fish and enjoy the views of the lake. I like the fact that the lake is undeveloped, and houses are not littering the landscape. Good clear water, nice boat ramps, and good fishing.

We visited midweek and practically had the entire Broken Bow Lake to ourselves. We explored miles of lovely scenery, clear deep water and isolated coves for a dip from our boat.
We stayed at the Lakeview Lodge which, as far as we could tell, is one of the few accommodations right on the water. There is a small marina with fuel, camping and boat slips.
Just a beautiful lake to tootle around on...loved it!

We visited Lake Broken Bow at the end of September with our dogs. Lots of trails for hiking and beautiful clear water to swim in. There were days we never saw another sole while hiking and swimming! Plenty of good food and craft beer in Hochatown, just a short drive away. Highly recommend!

Absolutely gorgeous! A little cool for swimming in October, but lots of fishing areas and boating available

My family and I love this lake. It’s beautiful, peaceful, and clean. We have been here several times, even though we own our own lake property.

The scenery is outstanding. Due to record May rain, the picnic areas are still under water and boat ramps closed.

The lake is absolutely beautiful!!!! The water was amazing!!! Not freezing at all!!! We found a spot to ourselves and just enjoyed every minute!!!

Very clear beautiful water. Lots of trails to explore and beautiful beaches from sand to flat rock. Great place to spend time with family just relaxing or playing on the water.

I was quite taken with this lake, its pretty clear and the lake level is up which was the best. We rented a boat and took the grand kids tubing on the lake.

Lots of rain this year, beautiful and green. Lake was gorgeous. Cabins to rent, tent or travel trailer camping.

This is my favorite lake in Oklahoma. Unlike some of our other red dirt, mud filled likes, this one is clean and natural. We enjoy fishing, boating, or just hanging out near the dam spillway. There’s always something fun to do.

If you're wanting an adventure for the whole family, look no further. This is the best thrill on the lake. The people are amazing and it's a fantastic ride!

Broken Bow Lake is beautiful. We visited the park the last week in October and the foliage colors were gorgeous. Fishing boats and large house boats are available for rent.

Huge lake with beautiful river! Stayed two nights and three days. Plenty of places to stay. Boat rentals, swimming, camping and glamping!

This was my first time to Broken Bow lake. I was fortunate to have a boat rental where we enjoyed exploring, tubing and just relaxing on the water. The water visibility was about 5 ft, and there were hardly any waves. We launched from the marina, where there are ski boat, pontoon boats, ski jet, and house boat rentals. There is also a place for snacks and drinks to take out with you on the lake. We had 2 teenagers and 2 toddlers and 6 adults. All of us had an enjoyable time. Yes I would like to go back, preferably in the fall when I could see all of the beautiful leaves.

This is our second family vacation to the Broken Bow lake. We absolutely love the area, it offers stunning views, clear water, fishing, hiking, swimming and water sports. The people are friendly and most places we have been can be accessed by people of all ages and condition.

We went to see all fall colors and they were very beautiful with lake as a back drop.. the creeks running into lake were very pretty.

Having gone in November, there were no boats out on the lake but it is beautiful with lots of varied camping opportunities.

Broken Bow Lake is the most beautiful lake in Oklahoma! It has many islands dotting the surface and secluded coves to explore with beautiful crystal clear water....Skiing, tubing, fishing or any other kind of lake sport on this lake is awesome!

This is a beautiful area in rural Oklahoma and Fall was the perfect time to visit! My husband and I just took our dog and spent a weekend here in a rental cabin and had a great little getaway.
The lake is huge and there are many entrances to the park with different amenities at each place. We spent a lot of time just walking the shoreline, hiking trails, and enjoying the scenery. Deer were everywhere! It was a nice vacay away from crowds and the Covid-19 pandemic. Great for all ages and activity levels.

The lake is breath taking! The views are amazing and the water is crystal clear! It was cold so we couldn't get in the water but it was still worth to rent the boat!

This is a beautiful lake. It is practically deserted in the winter. We walked all around and felt like we had the place to ourselves.

We rented a boat to enjoy Broken Bow lake and it was a fantastic decision. We were there the week before Memorial Day and the lake was amazing. We rented and toured the majority of the lake and couldn't have asked for a better day. Highly recommended.

went fishing on broken bow lake had a great time caught a few fish, and had a amazing time on the water the lake is amazing the water is so clear the mountains are unbelievable.

We haven't been here in years & it's still just as beautiful as we remember. Beautiful scenery, water clean & cool. This area has grown a lot since we last visited. Lots to do. Go check it out!

We enjoyed our visit to Broken Bow Lake and hiked on one of the trails where we encountered a deer family. We also visited the marina, which included many houseboats.

Nice weekend getaway. Definitely has family friendly campsites. Took a leisure drive around the dam and spillway. Had a great weather window and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves
Would like to return and try the trout fishing.

We brought our boat and rented a slip at the marina for it. The crew at the marina are super friendly. The Lake is a great size which allows you to find a cove all for yourself. The water temp felt great when we jumped in to cool off. There are some rocks to climb on and jump into the lake on the south bank (to the left) of the dam about 300 yards. The scenery on the lake is beautiful!

The lake, while not the center of beaver's bend state park is one of the most important element of it. There are multiple activities available at different parts of the lake.
We rented a 16 seater boat for 2 hours, for a price of about 300 dollars (including fuel). I must say it was fun. The overall scenery is very beautiful, with the dam, the forest and small hills all around. We also got a tube and did water activity. In addition to this, there are multiple places to swim. My 4 year old loved going in the water time after time.
Loved it!

Wow - if you get the chance rent a pontoon boat and explore this beautiful lake with it's many islands and scenic shoreline. Rent the tubes and spend about 1/2 day on the water - this will be the highlight of your visit to this great vacation spot. Forget the cost $$$ and Just Do It!

Stayed the weekend with friends and family. Very nice had fun fishing , camping. Great place to get away and enjoy nature.

Beautiful park! It was raining the day we went by here, but it was beautiful anyway! There was a fog over the lake, very serene!

Wonderful weekend spent on the lake. Rented a pontoon boat one day and a speed boat the next. Lots of islands and beautiful shores to explore. Kids enjoyed swimming and tubing. Most beautiful lake area in Oklahoma!

The water was warm and it was free to swim. The shores were rocky, but we were in the beauty of the outdoors. The lake was family friendly and a wonderful place for adults to gather. Although, my husband and our two friends complained of being bitten. I never was though. We wondered if it was all in their heads. :-)

Broken Bow Lake is beautiful! The water is nice and clean, the shoreline is scenic no matter where you look. There are so many fun little islands in the lake. Make sure you stop at Overlook Circle lookout and hike down on the rock. It is gorgeous down there. We enjoyed the warm lake water as opposed to the cold river waters for swimming.

This is a gorgeous lake!!! Quiet, very few boats, beautiful scenery. Unknown beauty of OK! We will def be back to visit again

Nice picturesque lake, with lots of trees along the shoreline. Lots os people enjoying fishing and boating here; and the State park trails are great. Unfortunately, not enough trails IMHO

This is a mountain lake with rocky shores and very clear water. There are many things to do here, but I was here to fish. The weather was against us, east wind and rain but we still caught fish. Below the dam is good trout fishing and in the lake there are black bass, small mouth, walleye, crappie and catfish. maybe more but that is what we caught. there are many cabins in the area, but we stayed at motel in Broken Bow. We were pleased with the room. It is A OK Motel right on hyway 259. I would return.

Great place to go to. Fishing, Boating, Relaxing, Great camping, Close to Beavers Bend State Park.boating

Beautiful lake. Gorgeous scenery with lots to do. We were surprised to see so many boats and fishermen on a weekday in the off season.

The air was so quiet and still, one could almost hear the soft breeze gently touch another leaf on each tree.

This lake is absolutely beautiful. We took Sea Doos and the whole family had a blast. It is not too crowded, and the surrounding area is gorgeous.

We enjoyed our weekend on the very beautiful and scenic Broken Bow Lake. There are Stand Up Paddle Rentals, boat rentals, etc. in addition to the famous trout fishing.

It was a less than perfect day for weather but we hired a fantastic guide to take me,my wife, and my nine years old son out on the lake and fish.( BoB's Guide service)580-306-9376. Again the weather was not wanting to co-operate but this man (Bob) was both professional and courteous. We ended up having one of the best afternoons of the entire week. If you are a nature lover and down to earth this is well worth checking out.

Broken Bow is an amazing area and a real surprise in Oklahoma. The central feature is Broken Bow Lake, but there are several small towns in the area. The lake and the surrounding streams are excellent for fishing including trout. The area is heavily wooded and scenic. Rental houses and luxury homes are available at reasonable costs. Broken Bow reminded me of what Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge or Lake of the Ozarks might have been 50 years ago. Good dining is in short supply. Traffic moves slowly, but at least it moves. This is a great place to relax.

We went the week after 4th of July and it was a bit crowded but plenty of spots to camp or picnic. There was a lot of trash laying about due to people not cleaning up but it is a nice lake.

Unlike Texas lakes, this one is clear. Lots of people fishing and in canoes. Very peaceful and the stone shores are beautiful

This lake is in the proximity of Hochatown state park and Beavers Bend State park. Lake has rocky bed and clear water. Views are really very beautiful around the lake. We stayed in a vacation cabin close to lake (3 miles approx). We didn't go in the water as it was very cold. unfortunately we were there before fall (probably fall is bit delayed this year due to early rains). It should be a wonderful view with fall colors. Very nice destination for Kayaking or fishing since place is quiet.
Highway US 70 also has great views in the 15-20 miles proximity of Broken Bow.

Great lake for fishing or picnic. Amazing views with clean beaches and banks. Fishing can be challenging, but the views are well worth a day spent on the lake.

Contact Hochatown Pontoon and Boat Rentals for an awesome experience on the lake. The lake was clean and not overcrowded on a weekday. We enjoyed exploring various areas of the lake, floating in inflatables, jumping off rocks into lake, and tubing. Beautiful scenery!

We come to visit the Beavers Bend area and stay in a cabin every year. If you have never been, this lake is definitely worth a visit. This is the nicest lake I have been to. Water is very clear and cool. Hire a fishing guild and go on a fishing trip. You will not be disappointed!

Just a fantastic lake for all kinds of activities -- we fished, skiied, innertubed and just cruised --- unbelievable beauty -- no houses in lake just trees after another set of trees with islands galore and lots of places to go to get out of wind -- we caught walleyes, largemouth, small mouth, spotted bass, brim, crappie and white bass --- just a great place!

We went down to the marina and rented some jet ski's and had a blast. The staff was friendly and the lake is actually bigger than I thought it was going to be.

Love this lake! No houses on it and that makes it so beautiful and natural! So clear and clean! We go every year with our family and rent a boat. We absolutely love it.

Broken Bow Lake is so gorgeous. Other than the lodge in Beavers Bend State Park, there is no development on it. It's a gem in Oklahoma!

As we entered the park we stopped and found the staff at the National park area very knowledgeable and helpful with planning on our trip into the park. We did two trails and both about a mile in length. Both offered great sights. One as my wife has put it was breathtaking. Would recommend this park to anyone. Looking forward to a trip back.

This lake is beautiful. If you have never been. You should already be on your way.. we came in November.. just BEAUTIFUL!!!

I have fished this lake in September for several years. I used Broken Bow Lake Guide service which is Bryce Archie and associates. Always has put me on fish. He fishes year around so knows where the fish are hiding. Super experience!

Was awesome and so peaceful just to sit near the water. Pretty much can get to the waters edge from any of the state parks and behind the Lake View Lodge.

We ventured out on Beavers Bend Lake (Broken Bow Lake) and were stunned by the beautiful water and surrounding scenery. It was almost like being in another country.

Broken Bow Lake is a beautiful lake. Very scenic and relaxing. They offer boat and jet ski rentals that are reasonably priced. It is a great family, friends and couples destination.
I can't wait to go back this summer when it is warm and relax on the lake!

Went on a good 3 hour hike, great vista's. Make sure you go on Skyline and Deer Crossing trails. Quite clean overall. Just had a rain storm a few days prior to us arriving so river water was quite stained with OK mud, but I hear it is normally very clean.

Stayed at Y Knot cabin thru Vacation Broken Bow Lake. 7/6-7/8 Wonderful cabin fully equipped with everything you need. Hot Tub and beautiful setting.

Absolutely beautiful! We happened on to this place quite by accident. Crystal clear water surrounded by unobstructed shoreline with cloud like islands floating in the middle. Driving, fishing, boating, hiking, something for everyone. This is one not to be missed!

Broken Bow lake and the surrounding area- gorgeous! We camped down by the river and it was lovely. You can also rent kayaks and canoes. We hiked up the ridge and the view is so pretty from there. I would definitely recommend checking out this area.

Such a beautiful lake! There are so many things to do. Cabins to rent, restaurants and hiking and canoeing!! Great place.

I've been to many lakes over the years and this is one of my all-time favorites. It really has everything. Forests and Mountains frame this big lake, which is awesome for kayaking and just about any other activity you can think of.

We had an amazing time in Broken Bow. The cabin was just what we needed for a carefree time. So much to do in the area with friendly people, beautiful scenery and great food. We would recommend it to family and friends.

This lake had multiple places of beach to enjoy, activities, equipment to rent, delicious food truck at the entrance...not a single negative thing to say about my experience. Can't wait to go back.

Absolutely beautiful lake with lots to see and do. It's surrounded by rocky hills and forest and is very scenic. The water is clean and clear with lots of open space. Great for boating and tubing!

Very cold in March but caught 2-3 fish. Great for kids that love the outdoors. The signs say that you need to pay park fee but we only stayed one hour and didn’t need to pay.

Beautiful lake that is not developed. We were there mid week in April and there are several cabin and camping options in the state park as well as golf course and hiking trails. We only saw a few boaters but there is also a nice marina. The water was so blue unlike Lake Eufala that was muddy when we drove back). Will definitely be back!

We are three friends enjoy fishing and company of each other. Lake view espacially morning and evening time is great... love to come back next summer

The cabin we stayed in "Lake Ridge Retreat" at Beavers Bend State Park was awesome. We booked a last minute trip before the holidays. The Christmas decor was just like a Hallmark film. Absolutely beautiful cabin. We will definitely stay here again.

it was very cold that day, so we just drove around the lake, we saw lists of wildlife. we would like to come back in warmer weather.

This is my favorite lake in Oklahoma. The fishing is great and the scenery is beautiful. We love to go to Broken Bow lake. Tons of cabins in the area to rent and affordable.

Lots of cabin rentals in the area....but, they book way in advance! CALL AHEAD! Also, helicopter rides over the lake are an awesome way to see the fall foliage, etc. Beautiful.

The water was really clean and perfect temperature for cooling off on a hot day. We had a really great time. We prefer the beach area here over the Hochatown State park.

Beautiful area just a short drive from DFW. Many choices for cabin rentals within a 15 minute drive of the park. Lots to do in the area mostly outdoors. Beautiful place!!!

loved the view and nature trails that were all around the area. they have all kinds of events and attractions for everyone

We absolutely love this area and this lake. We have camped, swam, and hiked in and around this lake. It is beautiful and well maintained. It is not developed with a lot of resorts and houses, it is still primitive.

My family and I have spent several vacations here. We absolutely love the lake! It’s so clean and relaxing. Well taken care of. Just wish there were more food options nearby. But lake is fantastic! HUGE trout in the area. So much fun to fish and kayak

The possibilities are unlimited on this beautiful lake. There is so much to do you will never grow bored. There is horse back riding, boating, kayaking, train ride, camping, and of course the fishing is fantastic! The cabins are a plus as you can stay as long as you like.

My family of 4 enjoyed our time on the lake. We rented a boat and went tubing. My kids really enjoyed that! The lake is beautiful and clean. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful, breathtaking views from your room. Exceptional sunrises and gorgeous view of the moon and stars at night. Definitely coming back!

The Broken Bow I used to know and the one I visit now are two entirely different places. The secret is out and no longer is BB the place for the avid hunter or fly fisherman - or even just a nice place for a weekend family getaway. It's bombarded with groups of 20- or 30-somethings (who've never touched a fishing pole) that are over crowding in the cabin they've rented so they can day drink into the wee hours of the morning while blasting their tunes as if the other cabin dwellers nearby would appreciate the free DJ service. For the record, we don't.
I may sound like a Boomer (I'm actually Gen X) but who cares. With the mega overbuilding of new rental cabins, bad tourist trap restaurants and stores in area, the charm of what BB once was has taken a huge hit to the gut. The traffic alone is just incredibly hard to fathom and no matter how many roads get expanded, I don't think it will keep up with this "progress". The fishing holes over fished. The trails - overrun with new hikers still learning trail etiquette. It's actually pretty sad. Now, for those of you who have been recently introduced to BB - good on ya. Maybe it will still do something for people that are just looking for an escape for a weekend. But for us, even though we still and probably always will love this little gem of a place, once the new Casino comes to town, that'll be it for us. The magic of the Broken Bow we knew more than a decade ago will be faded into a distant memory.

this lake is what this place is about. you go to beavers bend state park for the lake. they have some trails/ there were alot of people there, when we went. but, it may have also had something to do with covid and people wanting to get out. everyone needs to be aware of the parking pass, which started in july2020. you can do it online or on your phone. you don't get a paper for it, it is in their sysyem. we saw many tickets issued for not having one.. if you are parked, you have to have one. the park is scattered, so you drive alot, but you can see the lake. they have sirens that go off, due to high water. you don't know where the water is getting high at, so it's kind of annoying. they probably have it to be on the safe side.

Broken Bow Lake has always been from, growing up just down the road I was always there during the summer and now that I live in Dallas I love coming back, It's always perfect

We were planning a day trip of fishing and relaxing at this beautiful lake. During our slow entrance behind several vehicles into the park, we had to slow down even more, then stop, then wait on traffic because some motorcyclists had stopped to take in the views but parked partially on the road? Soon after this incident we took a break at a lovely office and museum. At an attempt to exit this location, found ourselves behind a vehicle at the exit portion of the parking lot. Noticed three vehicles were parked side by side at the exit blocking outgoing traffic. One vehicle passenger started waving their arms and shouted at us "Go around!" but the only other lane was for incoming and did not want to risk a collision. We then sat parked for quite some time as the other vehicles eventually made their way out of the exit area allowing us and others to exit the parking lot. Decided relaxation could be better found elsewhere and left the park.

My wife and I visited here for a weekend getaway from OKC. We rented a cabin a bit of a ways from the lake but there was plenty of parking and access so we didn't have any issues getting near/in/on the lake. We spent most of the time geocaching and there are definitely some nice places that the caches will take you. We enjoyed the area just below the dam and would absolutely go back.

Have never thought or really heard about Beavers Bend and the Lake.
This is one you must check out, we only live a few hours away and wonder why we never came before after seeing it. The Lake is beautiful, you can rent boats and just enjoy a day on one of the most beautiful Lakes for many miles.
We have now included this as a must see soon again this fall.

The water was clean & surprisingly warm. We had a great time at the lake! The staff at the lodge were very helpful in helping us locate different areas around the lake. There are some really neat boathouses to check out as well.

Beautiful clear lake with lots of recreational activities. Fishing, boat rentals, paddle board rentals and lots more. We plan to return yearly!!!

We love to visit this lake at least a few times a year. You can bring the kiddos or enjoy a weekend getaway with the spouse.

Most beautiful lake in OK I've seen so far, with it's rolling hills full of trees, nature at it's best. Clear bath water to swim and enjoy. Rent from local marina to enjoy the lake!

sister!!! Cabins are amazing down there. The lake was beautiful lot s of things to do there as well. Need to go check it out if your outdoor adventures

Great bit of water in a really scenic area. Access via a number of parks and refuges. I'm not much on boating or fishing from a boat, but there's plenty to do on and around the lake.

Classic country charm! American beauty. Lots of outdoor things to do like fly fishing, fishing, camping, hiking. An outdoorsman dream place!

Just visited Broken Bow with my husband and our children what a beautiful lake and surrounding hiking trails. Unfortunately due to rain we didn't get to fully enjoy our trip like we had hopes of but we will definitely be planning another trip back this summer.

Pretty nice clear water lake with lots of islands and quartz crystals everywhere. It was kind of busy when we were there but you can find a few nice semi primitive camping spots. Much better than the super touristy Beavers Bend state park.

Stopped many a time to take photos. Not over crowded nice to have some peace and silence. Highly recommended to some camper friends of mine as the view to wake up to is phanolapal.
May be the Prettiest Lake In Oklahoma
I just love Broken Bow Lake. Absolutely stunning beauty. Mountains, streams and pine trees everywhere. A peaceful and beautiful place to spend a day or weekend or longer. I will be back.
