An unmissable stop on your trip to New York is a walk at sunset on the Brooklyn bridge... you will admire the structure and have a splendid view of the New York Skyline.

It is a good idea to first drive to Brooklyn and then walk over the bridge towards Manhattan. Then you will always have the skyline in front of you. The walk is unforgettable and the view in all directions is absolutely worth seeing. On the right side you can see the Manhattan Bridge.

It is a typical tour of Ny, super nice to do on foot but be careful with the vacationer pick for photos and souvenirs.
Upon arrival in Brooklyn take a walk in the park just below the bridge.

Not the first time and hopefully not the last time, we had a wonderful experience walking the Brooklyn Bridge. The views are spectacular in any season; however, the wonderful weather added to the excitement. It takes approx. 30 minutes to walk the bridge, and we enjoyed every moment.

Walking down the Brooklyn bridge is one of my favourite experiences while in New York.
It offers best views starting evening with lights of the city bustling on tall skyscrapers on one side along with the river, cars at the bottom and happy crowd walking with you in the Center.
Be sure you are someone who can really walk a long route if you plan to go to this bridge.
Once you reach Brooklyn , you can go to the TIME OUT super market to have food or just sit on the rocks near the DUMBO region enjoying a snack (pick from pickle and pods) near the water and the carousel .
Great for pictures in the afternoon.

We decided to walk the Brooklyn Bridge from Brooklyn side. We took the subway to High St station in Brooklyn to walk back to lower Manhattan.
We left in the morning from Manhattan to have our coffee & pastry at Bluestone Lane DUMBO Café, then walked back about couple of minutes towards the direction we came at the intersection to find the walkway up to the bridge. It was a nice and easy walk with very few people around 9am that day. Took lots of pictures and enjoyed the view.

The most iconic views can be found from Dumbo and the Riverbank. A nice place to photograph and enjoy. Must-see on your NYC trip

The Brooklyn Bridge is a historic landmark in New York City connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn. With its majestic architecture and stunning views, it remains a timeless icon of the city.

Stunning bridge. Iconic of New York City. We traveled to DUMBO and walked across to Manhattan. It was a crisp beautifully sunny day. Wonderful

Brooklyn Bridge impresses with its architecture and beauty! Important tourist spot of New York! The place is always very busy! It is worth a short walk to make a registration!

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of New York City's most iconic landmarks, featured in countless movies and TV shows. It's a stunning bridge to walk across, offering incredible views of the skyline and the East River. The walk can be a bit long, but if you're up for it, it's definitely fun and rewarding—just be prepared for some crowds and a bit of exercise. Whether you're a tourist or a local, crossing the bridge is a memorable experience with breathtaking photo opportunities.

It is worth touring from side to side, beyond being a stunning piece of engineering, allows us to have beautiful views of the city and also appreciate the Manhattan Bridge.

Whilst being an iconic bridge in New York and worth a look, it is simply a bridge. It is certainly overhyped and would have been more enjoyable if the pavements/sidewalks were not clogged with pop-up traders who simply took up half the walkways on both sides. It made it difficult to even get onto the bridge with the sheer volume of people, both those crossing the bridge and the tourists like us, to even try to get halfway for a picture on the bridge.
Would certainly recommend going as early as possible to avoid the traders if you can.
Maybe it's better to view it from afar, and not on it.

The experience of crossing the most famous bridge and photographing the skyline that presents itself to you, is wonderful... years later it makes you realize how much this city is constantly changing.

One of the best things we did on our trip. The views are incredible whatever way you look and it really feels like you’re doing something special when you’re crossing the bridge. We spent the afternoon in DUMBO before walking back over the Brooklyn Bridge towards Manhattan. Must do for any trip to NYC!

My wife and I walked the BB to drop down to DUMBO for a walk(June 2024).It's an iconic bridge, and if you ever visit NY you've got to walk it,,,The Stirlings from Scotland 🏴

If you are in New York you can not take a walk and cross it. It's been a symbol since I was a kid. He's old but he has his charms.

Beautiful bridge with beautiful views of Brooklyn.
BUT! I don't recommend repeating our mistake and going there on a weekend afternoon. Risk being crushed by a mob of tourists.

This is a must see in NYC. On a hot summers day go at night. You won’t be disappointed. It is free and a fun walk. Ideally walk to the other side and then continue on to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. You won’t be sorry for all the great views you’ll have.

If you’re in New York you must visit the Brooklyn Bridge! I went around 11am weekday and it wasn’t overly busy.
Iconic landmark you can’t miss!

After I ate a big meal at a restaurant in Brooklyn, I decided to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to get to Manhattan instead of to use a subway. The Brooklyn Bridge was very busy with pedestrians, but the views of both the skylines of Manhattan and of Brooklyn were incredible. Bicyclists and pedestrians were kept segregated on different platforms, and I definitely think that the idea to keep the bicyclists and the pedestrians separate was very wise and safe. I have also driven over this bridge, and it was free to drive over this bridge so long as someone does not enter Lower Manhattan. If someone goes right from the East Side Highway to the Brooklyn Bridge, there is currently no toll since there is no entry into the congestion zone. I hope that New York City gets rid of this congestion pricing nonsense.

It was a dream always to see by naked eyes Brooklyn Bridge . We were watching in the movies then to see and to be there were fantastic . Definitely we will visit next time again

Perhaps the most famous bridge in New York.
Walk absolutely to do, even the traffic that passes under is not too annoying.

Beautiful views .great history ,amazing experience, best place to enjoy taking some photos. This is a must for unforgettable memories.

A dream. It's hard to imagine the reality of this place.
You have to live it.
Point of reference for everyone. Wherever you find your gaze goes there.
And then when you get up close and personal, the emotion is uncontrollable.
On the Brooklyn side then (DUMBO) reality exceeds the imagination: spectacular views to be captured a hundred times, bars, shops, restaurants etc. are the backdrop to a magical place.
Impossible not to visit it

The Brooklyn Bridge is a must-see, yes. So around Manhattan, take a walk on the bridge and delight co. The financial district skyline.
We have to walk the bridge

When we first arrived in NYC, we weren’t sure if you could walk across the bridge, but the Taxi Driver gave us a great recommendation. It’s a must-do on a nice day. We took some photos of the Manhattan Bridge and then walked back to Manhattan over the bridge. You get some amazing shots of the NY skyline and the bridge itself is pretty cool to experience while you’re on it. There are some souvenirs along the bridge where we bought an ink sketch of the area from a local artist.
Overall, it takes about 20-25 minutes to complete the walk.

Breathtaking view, a great place for tourists and to take great photos. Don't forget to cross the Brooklyn Bridge to take photos and save beautiful memories.

A milestone of my trip to NY. Extraordinary engineering and historical work, connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn.
We walked it on a beautiful sunny day but with a very sparkling wind.Wonderful panorama that you can admire walking

Beautiful view, beautiful place, very good walk. I recommend it for all kinds of people, it is a fairly inclusive place where you can spend the day and take good photos and disperse the mind for a moment very apart from sightseeing and seeing places on both sides of the city.
Cute.

RECOMMENDED!

The bridge is very long and delightful to walk on, with stunning views. I fulfilled my dream of crossing. I didn't go at sunset, but it must be the best time. There's just not much time to take photos alone because there are a lot of people, but the photos are still very beautiful. I loved!

The dream of many to come to Brokling and see its bridge
A fabulous architectural work made many years ago that still to its charm
The wooden walkway the whole iron structure with arches in the center with signs describing its history
You can visit freely arriving on foot from the city of Manhattan
From the bridge you can also enjoy a beautiful view and on the right you can also see the Statue of Liberty in the distance
I recommend the visit, if it is in those parts

Walking across the bridge is one of the absolute Things to do in New York. The view that can be admired both while walking along it, and when arriving in Brooklyn, is unique in the world and is of indescribable beauty

After several years ago watching a documentary about how the Brooklyn Bridge was built, my interest increased to try to visit this one at some future date. When I had some spare time on a visit to New York I took the opportunity Things to do. Of course, this was one of the hottest days in the city which made it a sweaty experience.
I took the subway over to Brooklyn and then crossed the bridge to Manhattan. So many times you’ve seen this bridge in movies and other contexts and now it was finally time to walk over on your own.
The bridge itself is very beautifully constructed and it is a bit cool that pedestrians are completely separated from traffic underneath. The view from the bridge is very nice, not least to see the city from a different perspective where the skyscrapers tower. The walk can take just how short or how long depending on how many times you stop on the way. Since the temperature was up at 32 degrees I chose to keep a little higher tempo over.
Well worth a walk if you are in the city - it's worth it I think!

The views of the Manhattan skyline were incredible, especially as the sun began to set. We were definitely feeling the burn by the end.

Seeing this place for the first time and not from the movies is just amazing, the architecture wonder on it and be able to walk around on it is a dream come true

Brooklyn Bridge is not only one of New York’s most recognizable landmarks; it is an amazing engineering achievement and a symbol of the connection between Manhattan and Brooklyn. With its majestic Gothic architecture and dramatic silhouette stretching across the East River, the bridge is an experience that every visitor to New York should enjoy.
An unforgettable walk
Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most memorable experiences you can have in New York. The 1,834-foot bridge offers a stunning view of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and the surrounding areas. The walk over the bridge takes about 30-40 minutes, depending on how often you stop to take pictures and admire the views.
As you walk across the bridge, you will be met by the characteristic wooden planks and the large towers that rise from both ends. There is also a bike path, so be aware of cyclists passing by. Despite the crowds, there is a sense of unity that arises when people from all corners of the world cross this historic structure together.
Historisk Betydning
Built between 1869 and 1883, the Brooklyn Bridge was a pioneering achievement of its time, and it was the first hinge bridge in the world made of steel. It represents both engineering and a vision of connecting societies. The bridge has witnessed countless historical events and has inspired artists, writers and filmmakers for generations.
For those interested in history, there are information posters along the bridge that explain its construction and significance. You may also want to visit Brooklyn Bridge Park on the Brooklyn side after crossing the bridge, where you can find more information and interesting exhibitions about the history of the bridge.
Brooklyn Side: A worth exploring
Once you reach the Brooklyn side, it’s worth taking a break and exploring Brooklyn Bridge Park. The park offers stunning views back towards Manhattan and has a variety of green areas, playgrounds, and even a beach. There are also many great restaurants and cafes nearby where you can enjoy a snack or a drink overlooking the harbour.
Conclusion
The Brooklyn Bridge is more than just a bridge; it is a symbol of New York’s spirit and history. Whether you're a first time visitor or a local, a walk across Brooklyn Bridge is an unforgettable experience. The stunning views, the historic significance and the unique atmosphere make this a must for anyone who wants to experience the best of New York. Take the time to enjoy the trip across the bridge, and be sure to bring the camera to capture the incredible sights!

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic experience, but don't expect to be able to take the perfect pic as this is a popular attraction. The number of people selling tack (hats, pins, tees, the chance to take your picture) was overwhelming. Welcome to New York City.

Very fun to make this crossing and take lots of photos with the friends was a beautiful sunny day. We went early in the morning so it wasn't too sunny

The Bridge is beautiful and majestic, definitely one of the places for the most beautiful photos in NYC.
If you feel the courage, you can cross it and come back across the Manhattan Bridge.
As the Brooklin Bridge is located all the way south of Manhattan, I advise you to then go back to Chinatown and Little Italy, the access being simple and very fast.

Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic landmark and a must-see if touring New York City. Despite being quite a long bridge it was still incredible and showcased some outstanding views of the city skyline and the river. Although the bridge is sometimes busy, it is still a huge part of New York and definitely something you should see. I would definitely recommend the bridge as it will only take a short amount of time but its views are worth a lifetime!

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of those places that never really loses its magic, no matter how many times you’ve seen it in photos. Walking across it in person is something else entirely. The mix of old stone towers, crisscrossing cables, and that open stretch of skyline ahead it’s all so perfectly New York. You feel the history in it, but also the energy of the city still pulsing through.
There’s something kind of poetic about the whole walk. On one side, Manhattan rising behind you; on the other, Brooklyn waiting with its quieter streets and good coffee. And in between, you get this little window of calm well, semi-calm there are bikes and tourists, but still). The view over the East River is incredible, especially at sunset when the light hits the buildings just right.
Sure, it gets crowded. You’ll find yourself dodging selfie sticks and moving with the flow more than setting your own pace. But even with that, it’s hard not to be caught up in the atmosphere. Everyone’s there for the same reason to take in something iconic, something that makes the city feel almost cinematic.
It’s free, it’s beautiful, and it somehow captures both the grit and the grandeur of New York. If you want that I’m really here moment, the Brooklyn Bridge delivers every single time.

It’s definitely a lovely place to be in NY! The views are amazing, wherever you look at it’s beautiful. We were lucky the weather was perfect, but I’ve been there also in cloudy or cold days and it isn’t as nice as in warm sunny weather

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an unforgettable experience. The bridge itself is a stunning architectural and engineering masterpiece, and walking on it feels incredibly calming and refreshing. From the bridge, you get amazing views of Manhattan’s skyline and its towering skyscrapers — truly a postcard moment.
You can’t visit New York without crossing this bridge.
I went twice, and I could easily go again — I never got tired of it.

We did not get a chance to walk across the bridge in our 4 day quick Christmas visit, but we did get a chance to see the iconic bridge.
We saw it as we were driving from one end of Manhattan to the other and it’s worth while at least driving by if you don’t have time to spend more time walking across the bridge.

Highly recommend walking the Brooklyn Bridge at sunset! Cooler temps, & so neat to see the city lights come on as it got to be dark!
We took a subway from Manhattan to DUMBO (yes, goes under the river!), had dinner & ice cream in DUMBO, then walked across the bridge back to Manhattan. Took about 30-40 min, & by the time we were back in Manhattan, was dark.
Although was pretty crowded & lots of picture-taking, was a wonderful experience, & one of the neatest things we did on our NYC trip!

We always like to cross at least once a time when we are in new York. It is a pleasant walk.the view is incredible. And it is a nice way to reach Manhattan from Brooklyn

The walk is more than recommended, always better if it is from Brooklyn to Manhattan. Incredible photos inside and outside of it in the Brooklyn part.

Great to see him live after seeing him in so many movies and chewing the bridge gum as a child... really impressive and spectacular! We crossed it in the evening on foot with Skyline view.... beautiful! In December a cold cold wind, you have to intabrate well but it is worth it. During the day we went to Time Out Market and from there you can admire a beautiful view from the rooftop terrace on the Skyline where, on one side there is the Brooklyn bridge and on the other the newer Manhattan bridge with the skyscrapers background. Stupendo!

One of our favourite experiences while in New York and it's free.
We took the subway from the Port Authority area so we started at Dumbo end of the bridge, This was the recommendation to us as you walk towards Manhattan so you get to see the skyline rise up from where you start.
Wow it was stunning such amazing views from start to finish. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was as, I had no idea what we would see. We got our first unexpected view of the Statue of Liberty as well as seeing the skyline unfold and the buildings coming into view including the One World Trade Centre, the Empire State and Chrysler Buildings.
We walked early in the morning after breakfast on a cold but crisp February day with beautiful blue skies. If we would have had the time we would have done the same journey at night to see the skyline lit up but when we return our plan will be to do the walk day and night to get the best views from each end of the day.
Yes it was busy but that didn't detract from the experience as you could see it was something everyone enjoyed.
A lot of things are expensive here but this was a definite highlight and an absolute bonus being Free

Absolutely loved walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. It's totally free to walk across the bridge. There are souvenir vendors on the bridge. Baseball caps are only $5. Its more scenic walking towards Manhattan than it is walking to the Broklyn side. On the East side there is a stairway that leads to DUMBO, which I also highly recommend. On the West side there is a stairway that leads to Chinatown. There aren't many or any police officers on the bridge, but it seemed so safe. What an experience! Do it!

A must-see if you are in New York, walking through it all gives you a priceless sense of freedom.
We walked it on a particularly wet day but I must say that the effort is rewarded by the spectacular skyline it offers you.
Beautiful indeed!

The Brooklyn Bridge is not only one of New York's most famous architectural structures, but also an amazing place to walk. Walking over the bridge is admirable due to its majestic view, historical significance and stunning views of the city. The bridge connects two boroughs, Manhattan and Brooklyn, and can be walked or biked, enjoying views of the city, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and the Great River.
The bridge itself is an example of 19th century engineering genius, its Gothic arches and detailed decoration always attract attention. It looks particularly spectacular in the evening when its lights reflect in the water. The atmosphere on the bridge is a little special.🇺🇲🌉

New York is very busy.
Was a true experience walking on the bridge with my collogues after that business meeting. Lovely view.

Beautiful views and breathtaking architecture. We took a subway to Brooklyn, walked to Dumbo, around the pebble beach and then to Brooklyn bridge and walked over the bridge back to Manhattan. Even though it was noon it was not that crowded

Go early in the morning when the sun goes up. There are not so many people during this time. Go to the end of the bridge because the most of the people turn around at the middle of the bridge.

Mandatory visit of the city. I recommend going to the sunset , it is amazing to see the sunset and how the lights of the city turn on.
Cross it from side to side, and enjoy the view of the Manhattan Bridge from there too

A must-see visit to NY is to be able to walk along the Brooklyn Suspension Bridge that crosses the East River between the Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs, opened in 1883, being the first fixed crossing of the East River.
A brilliant 19th century engineering feat from which you can see the tallest building in the U.S. that is the One World Trade Center, the Empire State, the Top of the Rock Observatory, the Statue of Liberty and many of Manhattan’s skyscrapers.

Crossing the bridge is a delicious, new yorkish experience! I've lost my count of how many times I've done this... on foot, on a bike. The only problem is that now it is full of hunting tourists to take pictures, sell souvenirs...having taken a little of the fun, but still worth it!!

Drive over, with the boat below through or with the helicopter over
From all sides a splendor on land, sea or air
Best pleasure walking

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a fantastic experience with amazing views of the NYC skyline. It’s a great way to take in the city, whether you’re heading to Brooklyn or Manhattan.
However, it can get very windy, especially in colder weather, so be sure to dress warmly if you’re visiting in winter. Despite the chill, the views and overall experience make it well worth the walk!

Brooklyn is a borough in NYC which mustn't be missed; views from Dumbo, ferry ride from Manhattan to Brooklyn, small towns like South Williamsburg have a lot to offer, Prospect Park offers a parallel to Central Park in terms of views, size, vistas etc. Must soak in all on offer, in my opinion it will be a very unique experience.

I had heard about the bridge and when I went there I saw it was better than what people were telling , the place is beautiful and NY and one of the best cities in the world!!!!!

Very nice and fantastic walk above the traffic
The best photos of skyscrapers and the Hudson River can be taken

I had seen so many photos and expected something very big, instead crowded and dirty bridge, few directions to reach it. It is more worth the visit to see it from below than to pass over it

Had a nice walk across the bridge with some of my friends. Use a map app to find the entrance to the walkway. It’s above traffic. There are a lot of great photo opportunities. Dress for wind.

We rode the subway from Tribeca to Dumbo and walked back across the bridge at night. It was incredible. The walk took us 30 mins as we stopped and took photos. The views were incredible. The path across is wide and has places to stop a long the way. Can’t recommend it enough.

Beautiful bridge with amazing views and wonderful experience, we took the subway to Dumbo and walked back over the bridge during sunset, I would totally recommend this as a free attraction.

THE NEW YORK BRIDGE.
We got there at dusk ... first visit "low" from one of the pylons and then walk all over the bridge (they are over 2 km.) which was already getting dark ... just spectacular ... view of the illuminated skyscrapers and the same amazing bridge

Maybe not the most beautiful bridge in the world but absolutely the biggest emotion I had in my life in front of a bridge. The walls all around speaks the Italian’s workers history. Big big moment of my life.

The Brooklyn Bridge is an important bridge between Brooklyn and Manhattan, and a must-see attraction, with countless visitors walking and taking pictures every day.

Great experience, bridge length about 2 km, above the East River, stunning view including the Statue of Liberty that can be seen from the bridge, recommended to visit in good weather with good views

The granite-faced towers rise majestically, adorned with stunning Gothic ornaments that make for great The views of the city skyline were breathtaking, even if the bridge felt a bit crowded. We loved the vibrant atmosphere and the mix of locals and tourists. It was a delightful blend of history and modern life. While it’s a must-see, be prepared for the hustle and bustle—it’s all part of the charm!

Mythical Brooklyn Bridge.
A short walk across the bridge, with a nice clear view on both sides.
The statue of liberty is seen in the distance. Lots of people for the crossing but it is to do if you are not lazy on the step.
Admire the view and indulge in the photos.

Well worth the walk. Such an experience with the very busy traffic flowing underneath. Amazing photo experience. Great views looking back at financial district.

We really enjoyed our walk across the bridge, though it was really crowded! Would recommend doing this on a weekday morning rather than a weekend afternoon for sure! Wear comfy shoes!

You can walk down the whole bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn and get a great view from the the Brooklyn side in the Dumbo area near the carousel

A must-see the Brooklyn Bridge that connects the Brooklyn neighborhood to Manathan with a distance of 1.4km an incredible view above or below with the Dumbo neighborhood

Nice walk with a beautiful view. At the start many stalls and tourist traps. Would advise it to do in nice/dry weather

It’s definitely a must-do walk in New York but it’s honestly nothing that special. You get some great views of the city but it’s incredibly crowded.

The walk across is nice and not hard, but can get quite crowded . Took us less the 30 minutes and we walked from manhattan and took the metro back. Several good photo spots along the way and on the other side.
Not a lot of shade on the way so can get hot

Fatelo a piedi! A really suggestive walk! Lo consiglio! Especially at sunset .. you can admire the most beautiful skyscrapers reflected in the water

We catch a ferry for US$4.50 to go DUMBO and Brooklyn Bridge. It’s worth walking in the rain for the amazing and fabulous views. We catch a M train going back to Hilton club in 57th. Suggestion for traveller try walking around downtown manhattan and you will
Be surprised all famous places are close to each other. We also took a photo of Manhattan Bridge

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is an unforgettable New York experience. The views of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, and the skyline are absolutely stunning, especially around sunrise or sunset. You really feel the history of the bridge while enjoying one of the best photo spots in the city.
The walk is easy and well marked, with a dedicated pedestrian path, and the breeze from the river makes it even more enjoyable. It can get busy during peak hours, but that’s part of the charm and energy of NYC.
Once you reach Brooklyn, you’re rewarded with great food spots, parks, and even more amazing views back toward Manhattan. If you’re planning activities or attractions around the city, saverseats.store is a useful option to check for tickets and experiences nearby.
The Brooklyn Bridge is completely free, iconic, and a must-do for anyone visiting New York City.

February lunch time not busy at all.It was little rain and mist but enjoyed the view. No crowd at all. Nice feeling, nice pictures. There is a professional photographer which can take really nice pictures of you. Recommend to visit any time of the year.

We've crossed this bridge so much, we never get tired of it. Now fully pedestrian it is very good and dangerous pricks when there were bicycles. Walking on the sky line with one. Beautiful panorama on manhattan and far away the statue of liberty. On the other side with the dumbo district..this iconic bridge and its brick buildings. Day and night for successful photos. Genial

It’s amazing to see it in person after having watched it in so many movies truly impressive and spectacular! I walked across it both ways in the afternoon, enjoying a wonderful view of the skyline. I also recommend visiting the Freedom Tower afterward to admire both the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges from above.
***
It's great to see him live after admiring him in so many movies: really impressive and spectacular! I walked through it, round trip, in the afternoon, enjoying a beautiful view of the skyline. I also recommend climbing the Freedom Tower to see both the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge from another perspective.

Visited twice in same day. Took early morning subway from 42nd Street (TimeSquare) between 5am and 6am and again later the same day after 1pm. Walking the bridge before 6am, was the better experience. No other tourists besides the odd person out running. Afternoon the crowds provided another experience, watching out where you walk, to avoid bumping into people, tourists expectations that you do not walk into their photo frames etc. I preferred the early morning visit. If I have another opportunity to visit again I would do DUMBO for photo opportunities from the street.

Another symbol of New York to visit absolutely! Every step a different perspective, I took hundreds of photographs. You breathe in the history of the city and you enter in connection with it. Hard to describe in words!

Walk across this bridge, There are good views of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Good place for taking photos. Can be visited in good weather

Seems every time we visit NYC it rains or snow or a combination of both, but the weather was not going to deter us from walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, a true iconic fixture here in New York City. The nice thing about the rain is it kept the crowds away and we didn't have shoulder to shoulder crowds to contend with. It is such a joy to walk across this bridge and the views to the city are amazing. And this is one of those things you can do for FREE!!!! and you get some exercise!!!

PROS

* Very historic structure
* Famous in so many ways- the name and the structure are immediately recognizable
* The geometric construction design is sardine and mesmerizing and dizzying
* Walking across from Brooklyn to Manhattan is a classic activity that is a major activity to do during a visit to New York City
* Not for sale
CONS
* Crowded
* Sun exposed

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because it is so classic and iconic, and crossing it on foot is a must-do activity for tourists in New York City
This was the absolutely first thing that I did after arrival in New York City with Princess Place Junior. We didn’t get there and start as early as I had hoped, but it was still great.
We took the subway to Dumbo area on the Brooklyn side and walked onto the pedestrian walkway across the bridge.
It was fantastic and incredible and we enjoyed every moment. The scenery from the bridge and the massive geometric configuration construction of the bridge were mesmerizing and hypnotizing and dizzying. We were thrilled!
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free
WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
For sure, and maybe I would do it next year with Prince Place Senior when I lead him on a visit, except that he has three little princes who might get tired.
ADVICE from IVTP
* Absolutely visit and see this structure
* Plan to walk across it from Brooklyn to Manhattan and try to do it early in the morning
I hope that you enjoy the “helpful” 👍 photos 📷 because I sure enjoyed taking them and posting them here for you.

Walking across Brooklyn Bridge is one of the best experiences in New York City. This iconic suspension bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn, offering stunning views of the city skyline, the East River, and the Statue of Liberty in the distance. Whether visiting during sunrise or sunset, the scenery is breathtaking. The pedestrian walkway is perfect for a leisurely stroll, biking, or capturing amazing photos. A must-see for anyone exploring NYC!

I was bit underwhelmed, to be honest, but that's not the Bridge's fault! It was good to see it, and from the river. We had a good view of the whole thing.

We have been to NYC before, but never had walked across the Brooklyn Bridge. Our plan was to walk across and back. We had an Uber and had selected the Brooklyn side for drop off. This was luck, as we decided one way was plenty to get the experience, and we were walking in the direction of the best views. Amazing views! Well worth the hour that we spent crossing. There were vendors selling water and fruit even though there are signs everywhere saying not allowed. There are also signs saying $500 fines for adding locks to the bridge, many locks visible.

A really lovely experience. We walked across both ways one morning in the city and the views are amazing. Seeing a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty was a lovely sight.

You definately have to do this bridge!
The walkover has spectacular photo oppotunitys of the lower manhatten buildings! the bridge is a wonderful design, best going over in the early morning as its not to busy & dumbo is 2 minutes after the crossing.
Wrap up its windy from the river🇺🇸

First we got the ferry from Pier 11 (Wall Street) to Dumbo. You need to buy tickets as ferries do not accept contactless payment. Once in Dumbo its about a 20 minute walk up to the bridge. We happened to pass the iconic Manhattan Bridge view street on the way.
Dumbo was very quiet on a Sunday morning but as expected the bridge was busy. Vendors are not currently allowed on the bridge so no one bothered us as we walked. Its 2km (1.3 miles) to walk across the bridge and you get a great view of the Manhattan skyline. There are also interesting information panels about the bridge construction.

Lovely to see, after of course seeing it in magazines, films etc. Walking from one side to the other a thing to do once when in New York. Great views from the bridge. We were lucky as not crowded. Perhaps the cold put people off, I don't know, but other than cold, weather was lovely, beautiful blue sky. Ive done it now, I dont feel the need to do it twice though

Visiting the Brooklyn Bridge was one of the most effective experiences of my time in New York. This bridge is not only a connection between Manhattan and Brooklyn, but also a historic landmark with spectacular views. I came in early in the afternoon, and it was the best decision — the blue sky slowly turned golden, reflecting a beautiful light between the buildings of Manhattan.
The pedestrian area on the bridge is quite crowded, but the atmosphere feels lively and energetic in New York City. Along the way, I could enjoy panoramas of the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty from afar, and the vast East River. Spot photos in here a lot, so make sure the camera battery is full!
Little tip: wear comfortable shoes and come at golden hour for the best photo results. After crossing, you can directly explore the DUMBO area full of cafes, unique shops, and famous photo corners like Washington Street.
Overall, Brooklyn Bridge is a must-see destination for anyone who wants to experience the classic New York vibe. Free, beautiful, and full of unforgettable experiences!

An old iconic bridge. Have a walk across you get some stunning views as you do. Easy walk around 20 minutes. It's a must see

If there's one thing to do in New York, it's walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Pleasant, remote from the city center, the experience is nice and the different views of NY amazing. Inaugurated in 1883, 48 meters high above the water level and 1.8 km long, it is on two levels that allow to be above that of vehicles which is very pleasant to walk. A beautiful experience to do imperatively.

Every time we visit NYC, we walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Again and again a treat, partly because of the views over Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn and the rapidly rising Jersey City. Brooklyn and Jersey City seem to want to do battle with Manhattan when it comes to high-rise buildings .. what tall buildings have been added over the past decade!

2025: Walked end to end again. But this time from manhattan to brooklyn route.
2023: Walked past from end to end, brooklyn to manhattan way. Alot of sellers by the bridge, usually they accept only cash, they sell from water, food to activities such as the 360’ video spin and alot of people passby from tourist to local’s exercising.
2021: This bridge keeps up with the technology and being from 1883, this is really an iconic bridge that saw and connected a way lot of people

It was one of our favorite neighborhoods (if one day we could go live there), under the bridge is the best area, full of greenery and strategic points to take photos, essential to go to the Time Out super modern gastronomic center with good atmosphere. Boardwalk to invest an afternoon and watch the sunset from several points.

I was very pleased to see New York again. My experiences, for the third time was very positive. Crossing the bridge is like time travel. I love to travel and recommend anyone to do so.

I read David McCullough’s 563 page book on the building of the bridge so I had a bunch of fun facts to share.
We walked over on the Manhattan bridge (less crowded and louder with trains) enjoyed DUMBO and walked back over to Manhattan on the Brooklyn Bridge.
It was such a lovely walk with all the people from around the world and the skyline in front and the amazing engineering all around. And it’s free!

From Brooklyn to Manhattan runs the nearly 2 kilometer long bridge. Hugely high too. Very nice shape. Fine to walk over and below you see the cars driving. On the Manhattan side, there are also vendors of souvenirs and sodas at the end.

Definitely worth the walk over the Brooklyn Bridge! You can go without a tour, just walk! Great photo ops! Not that far to walk and you can stop for a bite under the bridge before heading back. We started from the Manhattan side. The views all around are lovely! Well worth the walk over!

One of the best tours in NY. If you have time make the crossing on foot, even with the cold is worth it. The view is beautiful, the place is magnificent.

Fantastic place!! Like any part of New York, it reminds me a lot of movies. Walking through the parks surrounding the bridge on a sunny day is very pleasant. The night view is beautiful (when you are on the side of Brooklin looking at Manhattan.

Got up early and walked over Brooklyn Bridge at sunrise. Well worth it. The views were fantastic. Seeing the skyline and surrounding area change as the sun come up was amazing. Walked from Manhatten side to Brooklyn and back. Wrap up warm as can be windy up there

A very nice bridge to do on foot, count a good 1/2 hour. Quite a lot of people, so sometimes complicated to take pictures, but it is doable. Provide a cap or hat in good weather...

You can easily walk over Brooklyn Bridge for excellent views of Manhattan. There is an upper walk way that is free from traffic and cyclists. It takes about an hour to walk over and back. It can get very busy as this is a very popular tourist route.

Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge is an experience that will carry you inside forever, especially on a beautiful and sunny day like the one I was lucky enough to live. The walk is one of a kind, a real journey between two iconic New York boroughs, with the breathtaking Manhattan skyline towering imposingly at every step.
The atmosphere was vibrant, full of positive energy, and the sun made everything even more magical, illuminating the architectural details of the bridge and making the water below shine. Every angle offered a different and incredible perspective on Manhattan, giving perfect glimpses for memorable photos.
It's not just a walk, it's an emotion. Hearing the story of the bridge underfoot and admiring such an iconic panorama is something indescribable that remains etched in the memory. A must for anyone visiting New York!
Advice:
- Go slowly to enjoy every moment and take as many photos as you want.
- Choose a sunny day to better appreciate the colors and the view.
Wear comfortable shoes!

A lovely stroll across this famous landmark. We walked from Manhattan to Brooklyn and well worth it. An easy walk and amazing views especially when we got to the Brooklyn side. We returned by ferry.

I visited the Brooklyn Bridge in October 2024, and it was such a wonderful and memorable experience. The bridge is truly beautiful, with stunning views on all sides. Visitors from many different countries were there, enjoying the atmosphere and taking in the amazing scenery.
I walked halfway across the bridge, took many pictures, and enjoyed every moment. It was one of the most unforgettable days of my life, and I highly recommend visiting the Brooklyn Bridge if you are in New York.

Fantastic experience even if in December it is cool. The bridge is absolutely must do is perhaps the place with the most beautiful view of the city.

The Brooklyn Bridge is indeed a stunning landmark and a must-visit when in New York City. Its iconic design, historic significance, and breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River make it a popular spot for both tourists and locals. Walking across the bridge offers a unique experience, especially at sunrise or sunset, when the light creates a magical atmosphere. It’s also a great spot for photography and simply enjoying the energy of the city.

A cult bridge. Especially in the morning and afternoon, a visit to the bridge is recommended when the bridge and the city are illuminated.

So I've always wanted to visit the Brooklyn Bridge and running from beginning to end was such a cool experience. The views are spectacular and lots of people watching along the way. It's about 2 miles to run through the bridge and back incase you are wondering. FYI: You can't add any padlocks to the bridge even though it's tempting:) The foot traffic can be intense after 9AM so be prepared for chaos is you arrive at the wrong time. During the summer it's hella hot! So hydrate accordingly.

Very nice bridge leading from brooklyn to Manhattan.
Known from many movies etc.
Here it took about 40 minutes with children to cross.

It can be argued that the most durable monument in this country is not a shrine or a fortress or a palace but a bridge. The Brooklyn Bridge. Opened on May 24, 1883, this hybrid-cable-stayed suspension bridge spans the East River between Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City. It marked the first fixed crossing of the East River. It is the southernmost of the four toll-free vehicular bridges connecting Manhattan and Long Island with the Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge and Queensboro Bridge to the north. Only passenger vehicles, pedestrians and bicycle traffic are permitted to cross the bridge. It takes a brisk walking pedestrian about 20 minutes to navigate the 1.3 mile distance across the river. The elevated pedestrian-only promenade runs between the two roadways and 18 feet above them. Architecturally, the structure's towers are neo-Gothic with pointed arches, which are 272 feet tall and 85 feet wide. The main span is 1,595 1/2 feet across. The Brooklyn Bridge was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1966.

If you are in New York, you should definitely take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Because of this iconic and beautiful structure anyway. We walked from the Brooklyn side to Manhattan. Nice to see the different traffic flows: walking you do upstairs, cyclists and cars drive downstairs. Meanwhile, you enjoy a different view of the skyline every time.

Fantastic bridge, great views as everybody knows, bridge is also stunning when walking on it, the towers are amazing, but it was very busy when we went, I would highly recommend going earlier in the day when it’s quieter, hence only 4* for me

We are on a world tour as a family. We travel without leaving any place untouched. We wanted to cross paths from here too.☺️

We enjoyed our walk across the bridge. The sun was shining, and we were surprised that it wasn't windier. We are in our 60s and were with our adult children. The views were great.

This is a must visit place if you are planning for New York city visit. It is well connected though the subway. You will enjoy being there as it is a remarkable bridge.

All the bridges in New York have something special. We loved the walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, it has extraordinary views of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Dumbo, etc. New York is a very photogenic city and this bridge is one of the best places to take photos! In addition, from it you can see one of my two favorite bridges in New York: the Manhattan Bridge (which is made of metal and has a color that I love). Unforgettable.

I passed by the bridge entrance on my way to Chinatown and ended up following the crowd and walking along it. It was quite busy on the Manhattan side but did get emptier as you walked towards Brooklyn.
The bridge has a decent elevation so it gives a really nice view of the surrounding area. The pedestrian path is above the car so you can see them going below you. The most interesting and busy parts was when you reach the cabling for the bridge.
The central tower areas were good for views and also had plaques and other information on them.
It was a really nice walk over the East River. Scenic and enjoyable.

From Dumbo you can take the best photos, but you must also walk for a must-see walk in one of the city's icons.

The walk on the deck offers beautiful views of New York and Brooklyn.
There were a lot of people in the late afternoon.
Also to see at night, the view is sublime.

Always great to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. It is highly recommended to take the subway to Brooklyn first and then walk to Manhattan. The view is magnificent.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was an amazing experience! The views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River were simply breathtaking. The bridge itself is a marvel of engineering and architecture, with its iconic Gothic arches and intricate cable design.
The pedestrian pathway was well-maintained and offered plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. It was a perfect way to enjoy the city's scenery and get some exercise. While it can get a bit crowded, the atmosphere is lively and full of energy. Highly recommend taking this walk, especially around sunset, for the best views. A must-do for any visit to New York City!

Went to Dumbo on Tuesday, had a wonderful time, and went for a walk on Brooklyn bridge, the views are great, especially with the weather, highly recommended

This bridge has stunning skyline views. Walking across offers a mix of architecture, history and breathtaking sights. It can get crowded but it's a must visit for photography.

The weather was a perfect autumn day for a walk over the bridge. So, choose your day when the weather is nice! We were all wrapped up and ready to go.
We took the Subway down to Brooklyn, then the C Line to 'High Street', this is a 5 minute walk to Dumbo which is the area you need to be in.
There is park which gives you amazing views of the skyline which is free to enter. There are bars and restaurants which all have outdoor seating areas (I bet it's busy in summer!)
We wandered around Dumbo for about an hour, then we went to walk over the bridge. The views are amazing, it wasn't too busy and everyone was really friendly.
Everyone was just taking photos and enjoying the views.
We decided to walk over from Dumbo, so we could get the skyline views, but if you wanted to walk from Brooklyn, just get off the Subway at Brooklyn and the entry to the bridge is right next to it.
There's also lots of food trucks, so coffee is a must when you've walked it!
It only took us about half an hour to wander across. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Definitely worth doing.

I just love the long walk across this iconic bridge. On a sunny day, it cannot be beat, views of lower Manhattan and of downtown Brooklyn, gorgeous skyscrapers on both sides of the river. And the very old bridge is an engineering marvel and also looks great. Don't miss the opportunity to walk across.

The views of the Manhattan skyline were simply breathtaking and it was so romantic to experience it together. It's a must-do for any couple visiting New York City.

Probably one of the best walks I’ve been on. If you are lucky enough to visit the bridge on a cool afternoon/sunny day, take your time. Enjoy the 360 views of the city. I loved everything about this walk. Plus, I got a very cute tote bag out of it!

So impressive this bridge! Whether you walk them from Brooklyn or Manhatten. On a visit to New York City, you should walk over them.

If you come to New York, this is a must see view. The bridge is famous enough for you to want to come anyway, but it is surprisingly relaxing to overlook the river.

This was on my husband's bucket list of things he wanted to do while in New York. He wanted to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. As a tourist, it is a recognizable attraction, and as a lover of old architecture, I enjoyed seeing it. The walk across the bridge is challenging and longer than expected due to the number of pedestrians (tourists) that you have to navigate to get around. Incredibly crowded and frustrating at times, with people stopping in your way to take group pictures.

Not much to say that hasn’t been said in the thousands of reviews already posted.
A must see NYC iconic landmark, stretching 1.1 miles over the Hudson River.
It’s very busy day and night but not too crowded, we preferred to walk over from the Brooklyn side to Manhattan and take in the skyline views at sunset.
There are various sellers placed along the bridge for souvenirs etc.
Plenty of photo opportunities and a must do attraction while in NYC

Be ready to see how busy, how crowded, how beautiful and energetic city when it's flowing under the bridge. Be ready to see a spectacular Brooklyn to Mantattan skyline.

I loved the walk from my hotel to the forge every morning and some nights. It looks just like in the movies, please make time to enjoy a long walk to the bridge when you’re on New York !

We walked the bridge by getting on the promenade on the Brooklyn side in the morning at the stairs up from the underpass at WASHINGTON ST AND PROSPECT ST. The uber dropped us there. We climbed the stairs and easy, peasy we were walking the Brooklyn Bridge. The sun was shiny on the Manhattan skyline and it wasn’t crowded. I didn’t take long at all and we were in Manhattan. HIGHLY recommend.

The last time I walked across the Brooklyn Bridge it was with my husband, he's been dead for 20 years now so this was a "revisiting memories" trip for me. Our favorite places in NYC, which of course included walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.
My outing started with a subway ride from Central Park to the bridge area, a quick hotdog before heading across the span, and then a bit of a struggle finding a subway stop on the Brooklyn side to get back to my hotel near JFK airport. A very long day, almost 9 miles total between the park and the bridge, but totally worth it.

A visit to New York also includes a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. From the pedestrian path you can see beautiful views of Manhattan, the East River and also the Statue of Liberty. The path is long, but it is worth it at all times of the day.

We walked the bridge all the way from the beginning in Brooklyn, starting at Tillary Street. It’s very cool to see the skyline of Manhattan appearing while you’re walking. Also, the first part of the bridge you will not find many if any tourists. It takes about 30 - 45 minute to walk the entire lengthy, depending on your pace. Unfortunately, there were many people who climbed the bridge to make a selfie. Even next to the sign that climbing the bridge is illegal.

Whichever way you walk the Brooklyn Bridge you can guarantee great views and plenty of photo opportunities. We did it on a very hot day so take your time. The downside is there isn't enough benches to stop and catch your breath. Was glad to get to Brooklyn and have a well earned drink in the first bar we spotted. Would recommend but not for the feignt hearted. Free to cross too.

This is a must. It’s been in so many films and Tv series you can say been there walked over it. It’s a place to visit twice. One at night and once during the day. Don’t drive it walk over it. Great place for city scape photos.

When we entered the bridge it was about the time of the coward and it's the perfect time to cross it. You leave behind Manhattan and its skyscrapers and head towards Brooklyn and slowly the sun falls and the skyscrapers shine and the spectacle is magical!!!

We walked across the bridge to a basketball game in Brooklyn. This mythical and legendary bridge is another must-see in the city that connects the two most iconic borrows. The architecture and views offered are unique. Must see.

Definitely go here!!
This is such a great spot to hit up and see some great views!
It does get busy. So I’d recommend going in the morning.

A beautiful and pleasant walk from Dumbo to Manhattan with beautiful views of New York City. Ritual photos and in a moment you are on the other side.

This was one of the best things we did in New York. We caught the subway to High St (Brooklyn side) then followed the signs.
You get a great walk with downtown Manhattan in the background. In the morning, lighting is great for photos in this direction.
Really glad we did it.

I'm just happy walking.
This is New York.
If you are a little away, I recommend a baby car.
I need ice cream.

City Hall Park & the bridge are a must do! The views are amazing. It’s an easy walk, just crowded. Go early if it’s hot. Really great spot!

Beautiful crossing on foot. I recommend eating at the market on the other side of the bridge and walking it again with the sunset towards the manhatam side

The Brooklyn Bridge has always held a special place in my heart, not only for its iconic structure and historical significance but also for the personal memories tied to it. Walking across its suspension cables, you're met with breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, and the boroughs it connects. There's a timeless beauty to watching the city bustle beneath you, whether at sunrise, when the light spills across the buildings, or at dusk, when the city glows in soft hues.
What makes the Brooklyn Bridge even more special for me is the perspective I have from my grandmother's apartment on 14th Street near Union Square. Her place offers a unique vantage point—far enough to admire the bridge's full span but close enough to feel connected to it. From her windows, I can see the bridge beautifully framed against the backdrop of the city, especially during golden hour when the sunlight glimmers on its iconic steel wires.
Those views have become a symbol of home for me—a mix of nostalgia and inspiration. Growing up around New York, the bridge was more than just a path between boroughs; it was a link to my heritage, a reminder of the strength and resilience of the city I hold so dear. For me, the Brooklyn Bridge isn’t just an architectural marvel—it’s a source of comfort, a memory of family gatherings, and a reminder of how this city continues to inspire me, no matter where I am in the world.

We hired electric bikes and our cycle over Brooklyn Bridge was a definite highlight ! Would definitely recommend doing this :)

We decided to finish our sightseeing trip with a relaxing sightseeing walk on Brooklyn bridge. Didn’t realise it would be so long but found benches to sit on and people selling drinks and fresh fruits on the bridge. It was very busy and quite relaxing with nice spots to take photos. My daughter was very happy as she wanted to walk on Brooklyn bridge and reminded me of walking on London Bridge but in NYC. I would recommend it but a good idea to wear trainers. I would go this again and agdin! Thank you

Beautiful walk on the bridge with unmissable views. At sunset beautiful view of Manhattan illuminated. In the visit to New York you can not miss.

With children 4 and 7 we ⁇ it like nothing else! The subway stop is next door and you walk at your own pace not believing that this view is real. There are stands for 360 videos everywhere, but no one is loading to bother. Just like you have soundtrack for your ride because of the music they play. There are also benches in place to rest.

Another of New York's most recognizable symbols is the Brooklyn Bridge, which links the Manhattan and Brooklyn boroughs!
It was built between 1870 and 1883 and its time was an emblem of engineering by using steel as a construction material used on a large scale, and was also the largest suspension bridge in the world!
I recommend you to cross the bridge, without rush, and enjoy spectacular views!!

The crossing of the bridge is super good with a clear view from both sides. We could see the Manhattan Bridge and on the other side the Statute of Liberty. We went there in March 2025 and we didn't have people, not even vendors.
We can go either through the Wall Street neighborhood or through the Dumbo neighborhood.

A must we had on our list, a hot sunny March day we walked over with our 7 year old. Lots of people and lots of people stopping for pictures.
We wasn’t sure where to go once over the other side, we couldn’t find much other than the subway etc.
what a iconic bridge and wonderful pictures we got.

A must during your trip be aware the crossing is a bit long but it is worth the detour.
For a must-see view go through Dumont Street and along the coast passing through the underside of the bridge for a breathtaking view

Have a good time by passing the bridge connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn. Very nice view and the landscape around with the skyscrapers was amazing. Must see

Brooklyn Bridge is another iconic landmark in New York so it's worth a visit to say that you saw it, and I'd recommend actually walking over it. It can be a long enough walk, especially due to the the crowds soon after you begin crossing. It is very busy, with a lot of people stopping to take photos. People are also happy to take a photo for you too! I'd recommend actually crossing the bridge as Dumbo is only a short walk after crossing, and as you reach the midway point you'll notice that the crowd has quietened down a lot so there's a much better photo opportunity the other side, with less people! It appears as those people visit to see it, take their photo and then turn around and head back.
Aside from the above, the bridge itself is quite impressive, and it does give fabulous views of the Manhattan skyline. Looks lovely at any time of the day, but a sunrise walk is quite nice too! You will find people selling hats, bags, cups of fruit and churros along the way too.

Just beautiful. It's a walk that takes about minutes to quarantine. It is best to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan.

Never intended on walking the bridge but I am so glad we did.
We did the walk a bit strange by accident.
Went to Dumbo 1st and got pics of Manhattan bridge from Washington street. I then Googled Bridge walk way and ordered an Uber based on my search.
Uber took us over to Lower Manhattan.
We got drinks from Starbucks and walked the bridge heading to Brooklyn. (I think we thought we were heading to Manhattan (it was our 1st morning) I thought Dumbo was in Manhattan ! Ha)
At least when we got back to Dumbo we knew where we were and got the Subway no problem.
Highly recommend. It's a must for visiting New York

It's an iconic symbol of New York City, connecting Manhattan to Brooklyn across the East River. The bridge’s historic significance, along with its striking architectural design, has made it a beloved landmark for over a century.

If the weather is nice, you should take the time to walk across the bridge.
The view of the skyline is really lovely.

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic landmark in New York City. When opened in 1883, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world. It is remarkable to view the bridge from the waterfront parks in DUMBO or from a tour boat or public ferry along the East River. However, a walk across the bridge is a thrilling and unique experience. The views of the Manhattan Skyline are amazing. It can get crowded with tourists so try to do this early in the morning. However, walking across after dark would also be incredible with the views of the skyline lit up at night. It takes about 40 minutes to cross on foot. Make sure to include some time to spend in DUMBO which is the trendy neighborhood on the Brooklyn side of the bridge. Nice park space along the water with more terrific views and many restaurants, cafes, drinking establishments and shopping can be found. You can catch a public ferry to or from DUMBO from several locations in Manhattan. This would allow for a nice round trip, catching the ferry to Dumbo and then crossing the bridge into Lower Manhattan or vice versa.

In July much too hot, view of Manhattan beautiful, of the bridge logically does not see much when you are on it.
The area we found less appealing than described (Brooklyn Heights, Dumbo)

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge with my best friends was unforgettable! The views of the skyline and the river were absolutely breathtaking. It’s such a unique way to experience the city, and we couldn’t stop taking photos the entire time!

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was an unforgettable experience! The views of Manhattan’s skyline and the East River are breathtaking. The bridge itself is a beautiful blend of history and engineering. It’s the perfect spot for photos and to take in the city’s energy.

We walked the bridge to get the experience and checked off another "must see" in NYC.
Great crowd and they have removed the vendors from the actual bridge so pretty low stress walk and experience.

A must do when visiting New York, go down to the Dumbo view and also a free rooftop view ontop of the market food area for some great photos

Since my fist visit to NYC I explore Brooklyn bridge by walking and just did it from Brooklyn side. Amazing views awesome experience beautiful views on all sides great experience

Without a doubt one of the greatest symbols of the city of NY. Although NY is multifaceted, there are places that are directly emblematic.
It is said to be the largest suspension bridge in the world and links the city of Manhattan and the borough of Brooklyn.
And along its 1800 meters it is an invitation to cross it as a beautiful walk with the possibility of appreciating the skyscrapers and the physiognomy of New York City.
Several important films were filmed there such as Saturday Night Fever or "Manhattan" among others, the arches and wiring are undoubtedly postcards of popular culture and images that invite you to take beautiful photographs.
Personally, it didn't arouse deep feelings in me when I went through it, but in the case of my teenage daughter, the visit moved her to tears.
The crossing takes approximately 30 minutes and there are many tourists but they don't hinder the walk at all, they give it an international touch.

Brooklyn Bridge was the world's first steel wire suspension bridge; we took a quick trip from North Slope neighborhood and walked across Brooklyn Bridge to New York. Brooklyn Bridge was a good walk, it takes around a mile or so between the two New York boroughs, Brooklyn and Manhattan. There's a hiker-biker path for public use. Brooklyn Bridge opened in 1883. There are six lanes for vehicles -- no trucks!

Visiting the Brooklyn Bridge was an unforgettable experience! The iconic structure offers breathtaking views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. Walking across the bridge, you can feel the historic significance and marvel at the architectural beauty. The pedestrian walkway is well-maintained, making it a pleasant stroll for tourists and locals alike. Don't forget your camera – the photo opportunities are endless! Whether you're a history buff, an architecture enthusiast, or just looking for a scenic walk, the Brooklyn Bridge is a must-see landmark in New York City. Highly recommended!

Beautiful walk on the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. Enjoying it on foot is the best choice you can make. Fill up with water before departure.

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the most iconic bridges in New York City. Completed in 1883, it stands out for its majestic neo-Gothic towers and its innovative steel suspension structure, a true engineering marvel at the time. It connects Manhattan to Brooklyn by crossing the East River, offering spectacular views of the city skyline.
Crossing it on foot or by bike is an experience that allows you to enjoy breathtaking views of both Manhattan and Brooklyn. We walked it both day and night, two different moments able to give completely different atmospheres.

The magic of the past years is gone, when vendors offered their caps and souvenirs every 50 meters and the song "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z blared from many loudspeakers. The city only wanted to allow this with licenses, and that was probably too expensive for the street vendors.
Nevertheless, the walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge is still an experience. Take the subway to the High Street station. Then just follow the other visitors. You walk across the East River. As time goes on, the skyscrapers of Manhattan come closer and closer. All visitors are in a good mood or even excited, many take photos. The visit is free (except for the subway ticket) and a big point of every visit to New York.

crossing this bridge is a must-see and to do in good weather, if possible to enjoy the blue sky that illuminates the Brooklyn neighborhood. The views are superb
very busy place

Nice crossing of the bridge. Brookling to manathan. View of the Statue of Liberty and view of the whole of New York. 20 minutes is enough.

We got the Subway to Brooklyn then walked back across the bridge. It took about 30 minutes to walk with a few photo stops. It was busy but still an easy walk. You get great views of Manhattan Bridge and the city skyline on the way across. Something you have to do when in NYC!

We took the subway from Manhattan to the York St. exit and returned by walking the 1.1 mile Brooklyn Bridge. It's a perfect walk and even more interesting if you brush up on the history of the bridge's construction. The view of the Manhattan skyline is spectacular. If you're going with a significant other, don't forget a lock to add to the collection on the bridge.

The symbol of New York City. A step into history in a frame made of skyscrapers. We walked across the bridge admiring the city

Can’t beat the all the beauty this historic bridge provides! The architecture of the Brooklyn Bridge is incredible. But it also provides such an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline, the neighboring Manhattan bridge, and the Statue of Liberty. We started on the Brooklyn side and entered the pedestrian walkway on the staircase located under the center of the bridge at the cross streets of Washington St and Prospect St. Took us about a little over an hour to walk to the Manhattan side and back with a couple quick stops for breathtaking photo ops!

We did the bridge on a Sunday late morning in May. I recommend getting a ferry from Manhattan to Brooklyn and walk back. You can get great views of the Manhattan skyline and the bridge on the way over, and then it's a nice walk back. Plenty of photo opportunities. It was crowded when we went, but it was midday on a sunny Sunday. It can be tricky finding your way onto the foot path, if you don't know where you're going. There are plenty of street vendors at the Manhattan end for drinks, icecream or food.

One of the highlights of our trip. Have been to New York before but had never walked over the Brooklyn Bridge.
We took the ferry from Manhattan to Brooklyn, had lunch at Grimaldis, had a look round then walked back over the bridge. The steps to get in to the bridge were a bit hard to find but luckily a friendly local helped us. It was probably a 10 min walk from the waterfront.
There is now a fully pedestrianised walkway as cyclists now have their own lanes with the cars etc. So much safer.
It took about 30 mins to cross over including numerous photo stops.
The bridge itself is iconic and the views are amazing. Lots to see and do at both ends.
We really enjoyed it. There were lots of people walking in both directions which added to the atmosphere.
Very highly recommended. Worth going out of your way for.

Doing the Po you walk with the skyline of ny in front was a beautiful experience!!! A dream come true
S T U P E N D O!!!

Visited to Dumbo and went for a walk on Brooklyn bridge, had a wonderful time. The views of the Manhattan skyline were simply breathtaking, you can also walk down the whole bridge from Manhattan to Brooklyn and get a great view from the the Brooklyn side in the Dumbo area.
Indeed a lovely stroll across this famous landmark, highly recommended

The bridge is not the best I have ever seen, however it has stood the test of time. It is truly iconic and has featured in countless films and so on. Definitely worth walking along and taking some photos.

A Sunrise on this mythical bridge,
Wonderful!!!!
Check the time of sunrise and the weather.
This start of the day on New York is a wonder. to do absolutely.
Light ,athletes and tourists meet during this superb ride ,everything was Top

I went with my sister to the brooklyn bridge and we met a professional photographer, we took tremendous photos for $20 dollars, definitely a tremendous experience, the view from the bridge is spectacular

A wonderful walk and walk across this iconic city bridge. Starting the route from Manhattan to Brooklyn. About 2 kilometers to cross from side to side this large structure.

Best place in the world, I came back in love with this city. We went in spring/summer so it was very pleasant to walk. We did everything from metro, ferry and even good

Beautiful walk, the crossing is free and worth a visit, the view of Manhattan is superb 👍🏽
Cons:
> The endless number of vendors all over the deck
> Those who improvise themselves professional photographers
> The song of Alicia Keys (New York) that will bring you out by the ears at the end of the walk after hearing it 100 times 😂
Otherwise superb ride 👍🏽

Yeah, I know it's long and maybe you don't feel like going back and forth, but listen to me, do it. Possibly do it around sunset, when then going back you have the lights of New York in the background and you take a lot of photos.

If you go to Neuva York you can not miss seeing the Brooklyn Bridge and at night it is a feature of the city

Very nice strong bridge, with a special view on Skyscrapers. I enjoyed it and will never forget it...................

Loved wandering over the Brooklyn Bridge and seeing the New York Skyline - it is so interesting to read about how it was made on the plaques and so easy to get from the Subway.

The tour of this place starting from City hall park in Manhattan to Brooklyn is one of the most New York experiences you can experience in this city. The walk is not demanding and can take about half an hour according to the breaks that everyone takes. Along the way they will find photographers who will take snapshots of them on the bridge, if you want this memory before allowing them to take the photo agree the price with the photographer. Some have signs indicating the price. P.S.: If you're going as a couple, wear your lock to seal your love on a bridge fence.

Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge is practically a must on a visit to NY. Great views of the city and perfect angles to take photos.

One of the icons of NY is the Brooklyn Bridge, we will be tired of seeing it in movies, series etc. The best way to enjoy it is to cross it by taking a walk .. very quiet despite it many people both walking and by bike or car but each by its corresponding lane and without chaos. It's a nice walk.

It’s a must, I recommend you take a walk at least until the first span of the bridge there is a nice view, but do not expect few people, it is always full however you can also take pictures. If you can walk to the span, you can stay in the moment. If you want to plan your trip to New York to see Manhattan, use it as a reference when you plan to see the freedom statue from battery Park or the financial District because it stays close enough to this. I really recommend you to take a ride worth it doesn't seem much but we've seen it a thousand times in American movies and down there it's very nice.

Beautiful walk with stunning skyline and river views. Plenty of great photo spots along the wooden boardwalk. Can get crowded midday, but mornings are peaceful. Accessible entrances help. Sunset offers the best experience.

It's an amazing feat of engineering and such graceful beauty! The views as you walk across are iconic. Do a little research (like look at the wiki page!) so you have an idea about what it took to build! Once over to the Brooklyn side, walk on over to DUMBO or along the Brooklyn Height Promenade

Walked over at night wow what views amazing ! Anyone visiting NYC must walk the bridge at night if can as the views are out of this world

Seeing this bridge in movies it was interesting to see it in real life ,its massive and amazing to see the engineering on massive bridge

A historic bridge with a lot of photogenic opportunities. Aware for busy walkway especially nice sunny days. Highly recommended for anyone who visits NYC and has some free time with healthy heart and strong legs! You can walk from Manhattan side through bridge and through park then DUMBO

The most spectacular views and walk at sunrise on Brooklyn Bridge!!…the weather was perfect and the precinct and walkway was very clean. There were many beautiful pic opportunities and loads of photographs taking pics of couples and special occasions.

It was my second time in New York the first time I couldn't go to the bridge the second time I put it as a priority a very hot day but we didn't hesitate to do it and it really is amazing the views of Manhattan the tour is not long and as the view makes you entertained we caught a storm in the middle so unfortunately forced us to accelerate the steps a pity l
When we arrived in Brooklyn we went to a very nice cafeteria to replenish strength we took the picture in Dumbo where in addition to walking two blocks we arrived to the beach area to see Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan there are many restaurants in that place to enjoy
To return to manhattan we took subway and very quickly we were again in the center

Not sure what the hype is about. It's super crowded and there are way better views. Not really worth the time. If you have other things you want to do, do those first.

Absolutely astonishing view at night, with a beautiful insight on the tallest buildings in New York City. 10/10 breathtaking view on the metropolia.

Fantastic experience, we walked the Brooklin Bridge and then went to Dumbo. Living historic moments is worth it.

This is a nice walk and the bridge itself is impressive. took us about 30 mins to go both ways across it.
We didn't get to see the skyline due to the fog but even walking over the bridge itself was great fun and another thing ticked off.

We had seen other reviews and weren’t too excited but thought it was a must do. Boy were we impressed.
We did it late afternoon, had dinner in Dumbo and walked back at night. IT WAS AMAZING.
I can see why this is a must for New York. Such a beautiful place with amazing views of such a broad area.
The kids loved it and so did the adults. Stunning!
Caught the subway to City Hall and just a short walk to the bridge.

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge was a highlight of our trip. Stunning skyline views, lively atmosphere, and plenty of photo opportunities. Busy, yes, but part of the experience. Definitely a must-do for first-time visitors, but beware it is quite a walk!

The Brooklyn Bridge is a 19th‑century engineering diagram made monumental—granite towers, steel cables, and a suspended deck that still read with remarkable clarity as structure spanning city and river. Walking it today feels like crossing an elevated civic room between boroughs, where sublime views of skyline and harbor now coexist, sometimes uneasily, with dense tourist traffic and a corridor of cameras and vendors.

Brooklyn Bridge is yet another must stop when visiting New York City. The walkway is very easy to navigate, however it is very busy, with both sides of the walkway filled with vendors. We entered from Pearl Street and saved few minutes of walking, but be prepared to walk a long way. Its an easy walk but its long as you will stop every few minutes to take tons of pictures. The pictures from the Bridge are just fantastic on both sides of the East River.

Brooklyn bridge is a MUST VISIT place in NYC. It’s historic and worth seeing. It’s in the downtown and easily accessible

The Brooklyn Bridge Promenade connects the City Hall Park in Manhattan to the High Street Station in Brooklyn. It is about 30-minute walk, and is a relaxing stroll during good weather. It can be a little crowded in some section of the Promenade.

We visited Brooklyn bridge for sunrise on our last morning in New York.
The sky was pretty clear and the sunrise looked stunning over NYC!
We walked over the bridge into dumbo and stopped for photos along the way; it was quite busy, so always someone around to take a photo if you asked.

The Brooklyn Bridge is definitely one to see if you visit New York. The bridge is an architectural wonder and provides a great view of the city and the East river. It was quite crowded when I went but I didn't mind. If you would prefer to be there with less people, you might want to go early.
You'll also get great photos on the bridge. Note that there are photographers proposing to take photos, the photos come out great but you might want to negotiate the initial price they tell you.
I'm glad I got to see the bridge.

It is one of the symbols of New York that gives access to the Brooklynn neighborhood. You have to cross it day and night. This is a great vantage point to take great photos.

We stayed only a 3 minute walk away from being able to view the bridge from Pier 17.
Our first view was from the pier, just on twilight, and I fell in love with it! It was beautiful from there, with the lights slowly coming on. From then on, it was 'my' bridge. :D
We walked across it on a Sunday morning. We caught the ferry from Pier 17 to Brooklyn Bridge Park, then found our way onto the bridge around DUMBO. This was the way I'd decided to walk it, not from the city to Brooklyn, but in general, it wouldn't make much difference.
The bridge is amazing to see while on it. The iconic views from movies and TV are actually there above you. The breeze becomes a bit stronger when you're in the middle, so hold on to your hat! Watching the cars driving past underneath (kind of) is fun, too.
It was surprisingly busy on the Sunday morning, so I can imagine that it can get quite crowded. Just be prepared for it- the crowd tends to keep moving, except for the idiots who have to climb onto the sides for their photos.
Yes, it really is worth walking over.

Just magical!! It was the feeling I felt when I was in this place... feeling like a dream fulfilled. There's nothing too much to cross from NY to Brooklyn, but who doesn't love it?? Of course I will come back again and take new photos, if God permits!!

A dream come true.... beautiful experience, walked the brookling bridge to the opposite bank. To do...exciting, beautiful, fantastic

the view is beautiful day and night. the garden, under the bridge with its carousel and located between the two points and beautiful. a quiet and peaceful place

This is an iconic walk. Can be quite busy, even in the cold January weather so it’s difficult to stop and take a nice photo. One of the must-see landmarks in New York.

We walked the Brooklyn Bridge both ways - to Brooklyn and back across. The view is spectacular. The bridge has incredible history - worth reading up before going.

A beautiful point to walk across, where you can enjoy a nice view of the skyline. The bridge itself is also fun to walk over because there is a lot going on around you and the lines of the bridge are beautiful.

The Brooklyn Bridge along with the Statue of Liberty are the landmarks of New York City. Exciting to admire, photograph, cross. Bellissimo!

Absolutely beautiful! Such stunning views…
What I would recommend -
Get up early on your first day, around 5.30am we got up as we were staying in Times Square. Head to DUMBO on the subway for the gorgeous photo of Brooklyn Bridge with the Empire State Building in the middle. We were there at 6.50am when it was dark and it was perfect as everything was lit up nicely behind us and it wasn’t busy at all.
We then made our way to Brooklyn Bridge to walk over back to Manhattan for sunrise, SO worth the early get up - do Brooklyn to Manhattan for the best views of the city. We started walking over at 7am and got to the end at 7.35am. That was with a lot of photo and video stops. You could be over it in 15 mins maybe if you didn’t stop but the views were breathtaking watching the sun rise over manhattan will be something that stays with me forever.
We then went to Leon’s bagels for a breakfast bagel and coffee - highly recommend. Then explored the financial district, it all tied in together perfectly.

We had a lovely walk over the Brooklyn bridge on a sunny Saturday morning after visiting the one world observatory, bridge was busy but didn’t impact on the lovely walk and lots of photo opportunities. Various vendors on the bridge selling drinks, souvenirs etc.

If you go to New York this is a must, it's good now as there are no cyclists anymore as they have their own dedicated path below , my advice is to walk from Brooklyn to Manhattan that way you get the best views all the time as you're walking towards Manhattan, It can be a little confusing how to access the boardwalk, so for anyone interested here's my tip, Catch the Metro AorC line to High street ,Dumbo-- on exiting the station turn left ,round the corner you will come to Cadman Plaza E ,turn right walk about 200metres till your under the road bridge ,there is a set of steps on the left hand side by the hot dog van, the steps will take you straight onto the boardwalk and your jouney begins . You will exit onto Central street ,if you turn left its a 10minute walk to 9/11 memorial.

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge is a must-do in NYC! The views of Manhattan and the skyline are breathtaking, especially at sunrise or sunset. It's an iconic, historic landmark that offers a unique perspective of the city. Can get crowded, but the experience is worth it. Highly recommended!

From Spiderman to Superman, everyone's been through here, but apart from the jokes, it's really nice to walk on the bridge, my advice is to take it all the way to dumbo and then walk all the way to Manhattan.

IF YOU GO TO NY, YOU CAN NOT STOP CROSSING THE FAMOUS BROOKYN BRIDGE!!! IT'S GREAT!!! SUPER RECOMMEND, SEEMS LIKE A LOT BUT WHEN YOU DON'T CARE YOU GOT TO THE OTHER SIDE!! UNMISSABLE VIEWS

We took line 2/3 to Clark Street. From there you can walk to the bridge. From the bridge there are spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline. Besides, you already get the 1. View of the Statue of Liberty 🗽.
Once in Manhattan, you can walk down Broadway towards Wall Street to the Staten Island ferry terminal.
The bridge is definitely worth it.

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge was one of the highlights on my NYC trip. I loved the skyline, the history and the walk itself. We stopped several times to just admire the structure of the bridge and the surrounding landscape. This will stay on my list of what to do while in NYC!

Walking over the iconic Brooklyn Bridge is something every visitor to NYC should do. The bridge itself seems to exude the confidence of NYC - even in the rain. Walking north - south means you're pretty soon in Dumbo which itself is worth the visit, so if you're travelling to Dumbo, give yourself a treat and walk the bridge/

I visited New York a few times before I realized that I hadn’t ever checked out the Brooklyn Bridge. I could see this being a very cool place to check out if there was less people. Was it worth visiting? It was for the most part. The bad side is that there are lots and lots of people (that aren’t always on good behavior). Plus you might get caught in a protest, which can complicate things.
If you bring your camera, you can expect to get cool architecture shots, but the people definitely make that a challenge.

A beautiful walk that connects Brooklyn to Manhattan isolated from vehicles and bicycles, and that allows you to admire the buildings of Manhattan and its main monuments

Visiting the Brooklyn bridge is a must when in New York. Walking from one the to the other provides great views of Manhattan. The bridge itself has a rich history and is an amazing piece of engineering.

The Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic marvel, blending history and architecture. Walking across offers stunning views of NYC’s skyline and river—an unforgettable experience for locals and tourists alike!

The Brooklyn Bridge is one of the landmarks of New York. It connects Manhattan with Brooklyn across the East River. Crossing the bridge on foot costs nothing, and on the 1.8 km route you can marvel at the Manhattan skyline or the Brooklyn boardwalk, depending on your viewing direction. If you look south, you can even see the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
Since cyclists have had their own roadway, things have been much more relaxed on the bridge. However, there are still many illegal souvenir vendors and in general there is of course a lot going on at such a well-known attraction. It is enough to cross the bridge in one direction; back you can also take the subway. It’s also a pity that you have to walk from the bridge to the Brooklyn boardwalk for a while, through a less attractive area. A visit to the Brooklyn Bridge is definitely part of every NY visit.

Very nice walk with stunning views of the skyline. But very hot because little shade. Fortunately there was some air and fresh water and fruit vendors.

historic bridge with almost 150 years of life, extremely iconic and symbol of a NY that from the period of construction onwards would have experienced incredible growth that would have led it to be one of the most futuristic cities in the world; the bridge can be crossed on foot or by bike in the central part that is pedestrian and the route is approximately 2 km (so more or less 20-30 minutes for transit maybe with some stops for photos / videos); to decide only the itinerary of the day to understand whether to travel it from manhattan to Brooklyn or vice versa

One of the main attractions of New York City, it is funny to walk from one side to another and achieve DUMBO area, it is a cool experience.
Brooklyn Bridge has great views to the river and to both sides of the city.
Great spot for photos and to enjoy a nice walk.

Great iconic place to visit and is beautiful and free. Best time to visit for pictures would be very early morning for sunrise before 7am.

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is just part of New York. Great views are on both sides. But crowds are also part of it.

My husband and I walked across at dusk - the timing was accidental but fortunate - I am so glad we did - it made for excellent views in day light and night by the time we reached the other side. The traffic underneath the pedestrian walkway made for a great backdrop of noise. Views were amazing,

Tuesday, November 26th participated in the guided walk to the Brooklyn Bridge, Dumbo and Manhattan.
Andrew P., our guide, is a storyteller, a writer, singer, musician, etc...
A man who knows his city inside out.
If you want to spend an exciting day, go out with him.
I stepped the soul out of my body for 3.5 hours. There was only time for a short bathroom visit, no coffee break, no time for a snack.
At 68, Andrew is an energetic guide.

The Brooklyn Bridge: from having it in my pocket, stylized on the packets of chewing gum I chewed as a child, to having it under my feet, in steel and concrete. A good jump!
I suggest we drive it in the direction of Manhattan, to enjoy the island skyline without having to look around continuously.

The view is very nice, the weather is very good and it is one of the most beautiful tourist places where you can see the whole city and enjoy a nice day

It is truly a magnificent view of the Brooklyn Bridge, coming to New York and not cross the bridge would not be the same, if you want like us to cross the bridge then be ready to walk as its about a 40 Min walk but it is so worth it, i do recommend going during the evening as you get amazing views of Brooklyn in one side and Manhattan on the other side, we were quite concern to do this at night but i must say it is very safe, so you do not need to worry!

No trip to New York is complete with boating and walking over the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s stunning! Highly recommend visiting at sunset if you can as it was such a magical experience. You can also view it from the water in a water taxi/ferry over to Dumbo which was a cheap and easy way to see the skyline from the water

A must-see in New York, this is for photos but also, take the opportunity to go to the other side to see NY and the Skinline.

My family and I all agreed that this was the best thing we did in NYC.
Even better - its free!!! Super easy to get to via Subway from the Times Square area, we visited twice, once super early in the morning - best time to come, it was so quiet, plenty of time to take in the views and take photos without loads of people around
Visited at Sunset, VERY busy, but the views were amazing from DUMBO!!!

So honestly I found this walking of the Brooklyn Bridge over rated because it’s a long walk over 8 lanes of loud automobile traffic, with little shade. The views are good but not great from the walkway. I would just take the subway. If walking again I would bring earplugs or headphones.

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I got to the Brooklyn Bridge just before 6am to watch the sunrise. It was really quiet with only a few people around. I was able to take plenty of photos and videos without having anyone in my way. Totally worth getting up at 5am for this.

What an excitement, it was always one of the tourist sights I most wanted to see, and it is worth it.
We didn't cross the whole bridge, we went only halfway and passed underneath it by the ferry, it's very beautiful.

A truly brilliant and fun attraction you can take the walk along the bridge and admire the city, possibly choosing a moment like sunset a truly unforgettable experience

Always the Brooklyn Bridge is an iconic place in NY. movies and so many references make it essential in a visit and we went to cross a part at least on foot. From there the view of the city and the river is very beautiful, different to see it from the terrace of the Empire State. Many people walking to the other side and others on their daily path; we climbed from the stairs of the lower part of the bridge and returned on the ramp that was easier even a little long. On other occasions I had admired him from the streets and crossed by vehicle and I will do so on the following occasions if they come forward.

A must do while in NYC. Great views. Takes about 30-45 mins with time to stop for pics as you go. Head into dumbo on the Brooklyn side for good food, the pebble beach for great skyline pics too!

Iconic New York City landmark, perfect for the traditional photographs and one to tick off the bucket list. A must see!!

It’s Free and worth the walk over. Fantastic picturesque views and lots of history. Built in the late 1800’s, the structure is historic and amazing.

Worth the walk, though it is not for the faint hearted. It is over 1km and it is crowded. I'd love to know when is the best time to go to beat the crowds because there was a lot of people when we walked it. I feel sorry for any locals walking across because it is wall to wall tourists but it is very worth it. Great views out to Brooklyn, of the East River and of the NY skyline. A must do.

We really enjoyed our walk over the bridge and back. Yes, it can get pretty crowded, but it was worth it and the iconic view from the Dumbo side is not to be missed. You can enjoy a bit more piece and grab a coffee on this side too

Those limestone piers and ornate granite facades are breathtaking, as if taking us back to the time of history. Walking on the bridge overlooking the East River and feeling the breeze is particularly romantic. Although there are a lot of tourists, it doesn't affect our mood at all. A lot of photos were taken to document this wonderful moment. Overall, the Brooklyn Bridge is a must-see for couples, combining history with nature.

This is a nice bridge and we took some pictures with it but its still just a bridge. I recommend to do this early in the morning or else there will be a big crowd of people and you won't enjoy anything. we spent about an hour on it taking photos.

During one of my trips, I had time to walk through it, from the start in Brookline.
Clearly, on a beautiful day, not too hot, it is an experience that I recommend to everyone

Don’t miss this Iconic Bridge when visiting New York!
We walked the length of it one Sunny morning and enjoyed every minute -

I suggest attending very early in the morning. We arrived at 7 a.m. and barely began to see few people exercising and the August heat began to follow. But it was very comfortable for the photos, because we had the space to leave without crowds.
Nearby is Dumbo, where you can take some pictures of the Manhattan Bridge.
You can get there by subway and walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to get back to Manhattan.
We also crossed it at sunset but there were many people. The incomparable view on the Manhattan side.
Highly recommended!

It was my second time in NYC and explored this city differently. It was a solo trip. The weather this time was exceptionally good- warm and pleasant. I walked a lot in Manhattan ( main avenues, greenwich village, soho etc). These last two districts are perfect for shopping and some cocktails in the evening. Central park is an amazing spot to have rest and enjoy the nature. Brooklyn bridge and Grant Central Terminal are must see places. They are amazing. You should definitely cross the bridge from Brooklyn side in order to have a Manhattan view in front of. I also visited Woodberry Common - premium brand outlet, which is a good place for shopaholics (though do not expect very low prices on brands). Also enjoyed the night view over NYC from the One World Observatory. Serendipity cafe is a lovely place to visit to try their sweets. 🖤 this city is something different, you are charged with happiness and energy throughout the year! But choose a nice weather, definitely.

Brooklyn Bridge is a top New York landmark ... It connects Manhattan and Brooklyn ... It’s an everywhere-visited landmark and your visit to New York will be considered short if you don’t visit, take pictures of it and buy some souvenirs

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to New York. The views of the Manhattan skyline are absolutely breathtaking — especially around sunset! It’s a great way to experience both the city and the history of the bridge itself.
That said, it does get very crowded, especially during peak hours. Between tourists stopping for photos and cyclists trying to get through, it can be a bit chaotic at times. I’d recommend going early in the morning or later in the evening if you want a more relaxed experience.

This was my 5th time in NYC but my 1st time walking the Brooklyn bridge. It was a cold but a sunny wonderful morning the end of February 2024. The bridge and views are spectacular and you feel like you are a New York local. I could even see the Statue of Liberty in the distance.
Also all the padlocks are cute to look at. We took the subway from The New Yorker hotel in Manhattan which we enjoyed. I vlogged my whole experience on my YouTube channel @vickisworldtravel We spent a wonderful 10 days in the big Apple & I look forward to my next visit.
This is definitely a must when visiting New York.

While I visited Brooklyn Bridge after six years, it still creates an impact, with its combination of architectural and natural beauty all around.

We walked across around lunch time and it wasn’t as busy as we thought it was going to be!
There is a one way system in place which most people abide to, but you get some people who just do as they please.
It is pram and wheelchair accessible.
Great views cant complain as it’s free!!
Once you get to Brooklyn if you turn left at the bottom of the steps and follow the street down you’ll get a great picture of the manhattan bridge opposite.
It took around 30/40 minutes to cross stopping for pictures.

At sunset, this place is beautiful. It is busy as you'd expect, but nonetheless its iconic and amazing... even for a bridge.

We walked though the bridge on a lovely sunny day and it is beautiful, but very crowded. We still managed to take good photos.

Great to walk over the iconic bridge on a winter snowy day!
Not too busy took about 40 minutes
Great photos taken of lower manhattan skyline

The famous Brooklyn Bridge is a must!
A nice walk to go to Brooklyn or Manhattan depending on the sense.
It is nice with very nice views along the crossing.
I recommend.

It was a great place to go. Actually at night when lights are on -it's amaizing. I think that's the place everyone shoud visit.

The bridge gives an absolutely wonderful view of the city, highly recommended to be here early in the morning to avoid the crowds.

This was my second time walking over Brooklyn Bridge and the first time for my daughter, this is a must do whilst in NYC as it's so iconic and is great for taking photos,
the structure is absolutly breathtaking, I recommend walking from the Brooklyn side to get great photo's of the Lower Manhattan skyline.

Beautiful view with a sunrise that is reflected in the buildings!! Already a lot of people ... but that's also New York!!!

Beautiful breath taking amazing picture opportunity’s the experience would be amazing to see and share with friends or loved ones

Be prepared for the crowds so that will impact any pictures you are trying to take. We took the subway to City High exit - then it was a short walk to the stairs to begin the walk across the bridge - It was a holiday weekend so the crowds were thick - but definitely a feat of engineering you will want to experience.

While if you live in Brooklyn and maybe want to eat in Manhattan or if you jog or like me just want to say you have- then walk the Brooklyn Bridge. It is beautiful and filled with history…. And people.
unforgettable
My visit to the Brooklyn Bridge was truly unforgettable. Walking across this historic structure, I was mesmerized by the stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty. The bridge's impressive architecture and the sheer scale of its design left me in awe. The pedestrian walkway was bustling with both tourists and locals, adding to the vibrant atmosphere. As I strolled along, I couldn't help but take numerous photos of the picturesque scenery. This experience offered a perfect blend of history, engineering marvel, and breathtaking vistas, making my visit to the Brooklyn Bridge a highlight of my trip to New York City.
