Beautiful hoodoos!

By Fiora3 |

Beautiful! The hoodoos are so cool. It was hot in May. We hiked the Queens Garden/Navajo loop and the switchbacks at the top were a challenge. We also did the short waterfall hike. I had my 2 year old on my back and we made it through. It was tough hiking some parts but I loved it. So many cool rock formations and a couple tunnels carved out of the rock. My 5 year old also did the 3 miles hike. She complained the whole time but she did it haha.

Majestic!

By Almost Triplets |

We visited Bryce Canyon on a day trip from Zion, which was just enough time for a beautiful hike. Our guide (Moi from Cedar & Sage Boutique Trekking) led us the opposite way many people go. We went from Sunset Point through the bottom of the canyon to Sunrise Point, which made the descent and incline much more doable for our three kids (ages 10, 11, 11). We were awestruck by the breathtaking views and surprises along the way, like the three trees growing from the base of the canyon. This is a challenging hike that gives you such a sense of exhilaration and accomplishment by the time you reach the end.

Bryce Canyon

By Michael T |

great national park, make sure you have hiking boots and plenty of water, great shuttle bus service, seeing all of the area would take at least 2 days.

It snowed!

By Jollyshandy |

It snowed and the whole national park is in white. It was very beautiful. The pathways are covered in ice and I fell a couple of times due to the slippery ice on the paths. Due to the snow, shuttle bus was recommended, and the day that i visited happened to be the last day that the shuttle service was in operation.

The view was magnificent. The wind was very strong though.

Do take note the park ranger do close the toilets for disinfectants for some time during the day so you might not be able to use the wash rooms.

I have seen cars landed in the ditch due to the ice/snow on the road so be careful when you drive in the park.

A Must-See in Utah

By Kim |

Bryce Canyon is one of our favorite national parks. The views of hoodoos and the rocky landscape are just otherworldly and unlike anywhere else we have ever seen. We would definitely recommend experiencing the grandness of Bryce on horseback (we went on Canyon Trail Rides), as it gave us access to spectacular views that would have been hard to fully appreciate on foot. The scenic drive is also a great way to see some of Bryce's best views in a short amount of time (we saw the Natural Bridge and Rainbow Point there). All in all, we would definitely recommend stopping by Bryce!

Okay park

By Travel_Expert |

The views of the hoodoos were remarkable, especially at sunset. I recommend visiting Sunset Point to see the place change color.

The park is okay, but doesn't have a shuttle. You must bring a car. Park is relatively small, just having a bathroom and an information office. Very few things outside park. Bring food and snacks.

Wow!

By A. M. |

Breathtaking views of the hoodoos! Look out when walking ice covered paths. It's February and most the roads and lodge are closed. We experienced the three viewpoints open and it was still worth the trip to see it. The snow with the red rocks so beautiful. Nice to have the park to the few of us that were there. The sunny day and blue sky just added to the wonderful view.

America at its Best!

By Anne W |

Bryce Canyon Lodge’s cabins are the best! You’re close to the rim to enjoy sunrise and sunset views.
The cabins are so neat and beautifully constructed and have all amenities.

Beautiful

By Peter B |

Drove around the canyon, found the parking busy but were lucky to find spaces at each point.
We enjoyed the views around the canyon especially the amount of access around the canyon rim.
There were shuttle buses available but don't go to places further up the canyon so you will need transport
A remarkable place to visit

Most amazing views and rock formations I have ever seen, a must do National Park

By Robert S |

Right from the start at the Sunrise parking lot you can walk to the overlook and get incredible views of the hoo doos. Be aware that if you start to hike down, the 1st quarter mile of the Navajo trail is quite steep with big drop offs. Those that are afraid of heights will feel some nervousness here but it's doable.

Meraviglioso!!

By Giovadas |

The park is really nice. In particular we enjoyed the path through which you can walk among the famous hoodoos!

Wonderful!

By Rob Zanelli |

Wunderful views with constantly changing perspectives and a lot of possibilities for hikes. In addition, the shuttle system works perfectly.

Beautiful scenery

By bowhunterups |

Bryce Canyon National park is a beautiful place. I'd highly recommend going to it. The scenery is awesome ! . If your not a hiker then you can do the entire park in a half a day, it's only 18 miles long on the main road. I'd recommend
doing the Bryce canyon horse back riding based inside the park. It;s great.

wow wow wow

By pattyH16 |

What a fantastic site.
We couldn't believe our eyes.
Personally, we liked it better than the Grand Canyon.
Definitely do the Navajo trail, down via Two Bridges and up again via Wall Street.

Kaleidoscope of colors

By dixiepeach |

This was our third trip to Bryce Canyon. It never fails to delight with its gorgeous colorful hoo-doo filled landscapes. Sunset is my favorite time there. You may see some wildlife in the park, particularly late in the day. If you have time you should drive out to the far end of the park which has several beautiful viewpoints there.

Bryce beauty!

By Selena F |

Bryce Canyon: Jaw-dropping beauty! Hiking among the hoodoos, every turn reveals a new wonder. Nature at its most magical! 🌄✨

Gigantic

By plfdakar |

These ocher rock chimney formations are gigantic, it’s pretty to see. The 5 viewpoints of the park have their originality, you will not be disappointed, free shuttle system every 1/4 hour is great

Superfluous Review

By dctrentster |

Everything about Bryce Canyon has probably been said in all the many thousands of reviews. Great visitors center, plenty of bathrooms. Parking wasn’t a problem, but we seem to have arrived in the off season. There were a fair number of people there though it didn’t seem super crowded. The trails were excellent with breathtaking views. Simply beautiful.

Most Beautiful Natural Place We’ve Ever Seen

By Skynyrdnation |

OMG OMG this was absolutely breathtaking. Beyond all expectations even better than the Grand Canyon. The colors are so beautiful and the rock formations are unbelievable. Throughout the day the sun and clouds change and it looks even more beautiful. I took over 500 pictures. We stayed in the park lodging and it was worth every dollar. The trails are safe to hike. Be careful of the altitude and drink plenty of water.

Simply an amazing National Park in Utah

By StevenBerlin |

Bryce Canyon Natural Park is one of the most amazing parks in Utah as well as the USA. It has a large scenic loop which you can visit almost anytime of year. During early winter, they plow the roads pretty well. They have lots of scenic outlooks and also hiking trails. Almost everything in Bryce is from a top perspective looking down.

Carved valleys and astonishing peaks and formations are everywhere, and give this park its beauty and charm. They even provide a detailed map to make navigation easier.

I really loved the Natural Bridge formation and inspiration point. They have trails from Sunset Point to Sunrise Point. Don't miss out on seeing Thor's Hammer as well.

If you go to Bryce, make sure you check out scenic byway 12.

Go when it's quiet ...

By machinmad |

We pitched up on a busy Sunday in Sept, which was stupid as the place was heaving. We took the shuttle bus, which enabled us to get to the scenic stops and admire the timeless spectacle of mother nature’s geology. Absolutely stunning vistas.

Go on a quiet day though, too many people spoil the majesty of this place when it's busy.

Divine

By lbernad |

Every hike was perfect with many to do and some quite easy. I place where you can go with your family.

Springtime in Bryce

By ebrown991 |

Wonderful National Park that has places for all kinds of people. Some areas very accessible for viewing the Canyons. Hiking for all levels of fitness. Loved the hike at Mossy Cave and Bristlecone Loop which are easy and the Navajo Lopp Trail which is harder and steeper but well worth it. It is best to plan to be there a couple of days if you want to hike. It was not too busy when we were there but in the high season it is best to take the free shuttle buses.

Out of This World!

By Dave W |

This was an otherworldly experience! We had never seen such spectacular rock formations! We did take a long hike down to the canyon floor and back out. Walking among the formations and being able to look UP was different from looking DOWN at them. The hike was easy going down, but strenuous coming back up due to elevation. There are many observation points in the park that offer impressive views. We were able to drive our own vehicle and find parking at all the spots we wanted to see in late September. Everything was well marked and easy to find. Don’t miss this breathtaking experience.

Majestic and mesmerizing

By marysia14 |

This was an absolutely amazing place to visit! There are so many walking paths and hiking areas for all levels and all skill sets. The views are absolutely glorious!

Wonderful Place

By John K |

Bryce Canyon National Park is a fantastic place to visit. It is basically one road divided into many sections. Some are just parking areas; some you actually drive to the edge and look out. Got some great images.

Wonderful park must-see in Utah

By Concetta D |

A really fabulous park with the colors of the rock formations really wonderful, shades of orange and red that changed according to how illuminated by the sun. We went down to the base of the park rocks where you can get to the base of the magnificent trees that grow in the park. The descent I warn you is quite challenging very slippery terrain but feasible I made it with simple gym shoes. But it absolutely deserves!

Amazing!

By Tom A |

I had been to this park several years ago but I really don’t take the time to see all the park has to offer. I have been to over 100 np and this ranks in the top 5 for me. Take time to really stop and soak in the beauty. One recommendation……Go real early in the am.

Informative tour of two gorgeous parks

By Ida P |

Our guide Julianna was friendly and helpful. Her enthusiasm in e planning the geology of the area greatly enhanced our tour.

Bruce was a cautious, friendly and helpful driver. He is a great asset for the tour company. He drove for hours.

IF YOU HAVE LIMITED TIME TO VISIT THE PARK - I SUGGEST THIS LOOKOUT

By concertpix |

I hope this review helps those of you with limited time at the park. Last weekend I took friends on a trip that began in Ceder City. We visited Ceder Breaks (new visitor center is under construction), Navajo Lake, Duck Creek area, and finally Bryce. We had about 2 hours to spend and we went over to the Bryce Overlook. I like this overlook because it gives you some close-up views, panaramics, and a chance to explore for a while. While not as crowded as Zion, expect decent crowds during peak seasons. I won't spoil it but if you visit in the spring check out the Tropic Waterfall a short drive just outside the park entrance!

Marvelous from the Outlooks, Even Better Up Close on Hikes

By Jeff L |

This region is so stunningly beautiful that my wife broke out into tears when she first saw it. It's hard to be prepared for the panorama of glory that one can find here -- so much color, such a gargantuan scale, such endless variety and complexity, all occurring so unexpectedly high on al alpine plain.

One can see so much by just driving to the different outlooks and have a marvlous couple of hours, but it's even better if you take some of the hikes down around the hoodoos and others formations and experience them up close, and also experience the interplay of shadows, arches, holes, canyons, crazy trees resisting the elements, and the ever shifting marvels of erosion in such a colorful environment. I love this place!

Breathtaking scenery

By Janene Simpson |

What a fabulous National Park and so worth the hikes to all of the lookouts. In May we had a gorgeous sunny day but it was very cold at -3°C (26.6°F). Be prepared :-)

Rock chimneys and comfortable amenities across the park

By Janka K |

A very nice national park where you can see rock chimneys shaped by soil erosion caused by changing weather conditions.
If you don't want to do some longer hike and e.g. to hike down to some valley, I would say that 1 day at this national park is enough. You can still hike Rim Trail and enjoy the iconic views from up there.
The park offers really comfortable flush toilets and then multiple drinking fountains at the visitor center and the parking lots of the view points. You don't often see this at other national parks.
Expect higher load of tourists, as this park is very popular.

Bryce Canyon

By Demon Mike |

WE spent 2 days at Bryce Canyon but if you are pressed for time 1 day is sufficent. You can do it the easy way by taking the shuttle to each observation point or you can do the many hikes available. Either way the canyon is spectacular. You can stay in the park but that is exoensive and is booked out quickly. we stayed in Panguitch which is a nice little town in easy driving distance. If you plan to hike in spring or summer it is advisaeble to take a sun hat,and water and a hiking pole is a great help. There is no restaurant so bring your own food

You’ve got to see this place

By Nashville_brent_65 |

Just look at some pictures on the internet and ask yourself where else you can see such sights!

And then go.

If your health allows it then definitely hike down into the amphitheater. The true size and beauty comes alive down there.

If you’re not able to hike that far, then hike down a level or two on the switchbacks at Sunset Point. Even from there it all seems larger.

A Tour of Wall Street( not New York City )

By MikeShaler |

Arrive in time for sunset over the Canyon. The hoodoos dance in the fading sun light! What a unique sunset experience. If you can, stay in the park at the Lodge but better yet book a cabin within 60 yards of the Canyon. Now, in the morning take a trip down Wall Street, the photos are spectacular!. Proceed down and hike about 2 miles to the Queens Garden where you will find Queen Victoria riding on the back of a dragon ( well so it seems ). The walk back up to Sunset Point is a bit easier but by no means easy. Stop often and bring water! What a fabulous place! Don’t miss it!

Excellent moderate hike

By Bruce C |

Hiked through Queen Gardens and Victoria Garden to Peekaboo Loop and then back as Navajo Loop was closed as was Bryce Point to Inspiration Point trail. Beautiful hike through the hoodoos. Peekaboo was muddy and icy in some spots.

Another planet

By Fernando P |

Another spectacular Canyon. It feels like we're on another planet. For the Navajos, it is the spirit of an Indian who died and returned as a cone. There are thousands. Wonderful

A Great National Park, Easily Explored

By doctorbobster |

The beauty of Bryce is its accessibility; you can explore it with minimal effort. The service road encircles the park and features several turn-offs and parking lots proividing overlooks of various portions of the park. Some areas offer trails from the top, to the bottom, looping around and then back up, ranging from about 1 mile to much longer. But: you miss only a little by staying at the top.

TIP: go to Inspiration Point for sunrise.

Don't miss Bryce Canyon

By dianek12345 |

The park is always gorgeous. We went later in the day so even though it was July 4th weekend, we didn't have to use the shuttle and we found parking places everywhere we went. The views are stunning.

Choose Bryce Canyon

By KansasPVgal |

THIS road trip that included Bryce Canyon was amazing! Bryce Canyon is spectacular, and all roads leading there are as well. Such a feast for the eyes.

If you are trying to decide between Bryce and Zion, I recommend Bryce. Zion requires visitors to be on shuttles in the park and the windows aren't clean. My husband has mobility challenges so he can't hike, and Zion requires that you take a shuttle into the park, which we did. But you are limited as to what you can see when you get off at shuttle stops, if you can't hike.

But in Bryce Canyon, you can drive through, make stops at the many side road viewing areas , and be awestruck by what you can see! Beauty is everywhere inside and outside of Bryce Canyon. Definitely a must see!

One of my favorite national parks

By angeleyes27 |

I really like this park. The overlooks are beautiful. They are easy to reach and handicapped accessible. You only have to walk a short distance to see beauty. I love the colors. Be prepared that nights get very chilly.

No where else like it in the world

By Brianna |

Great hikes, and such a unique landscape. Unfortunately went on a pretty misty / snowy day but the experience was still so worthwhile! The gift shop was also a personal fav!

Spectacular

By RaTTolpo B |

Spectacular! There are various viewpoints but it is worth doing them all and taking home beautiful photos and memories

Stunning scenery

By Regina Falange |

Amazing! A must see! If you’re travelling in summer, a great hike to do is the queens garden/navajo loop starting at sunrise point. Get there for sunrise and you’ll have this amazing hike done before it gets too hot.

Beautiful!

By Isabella |

We spent one full day here but easily couldve done more! We did the the Navajo loop, we also saw Sunset Pt, Sunrise Pt, Bryce and Inspiration Pt. All were breathtaking! The hoodoos are so unique and beautiful. We parked outside of the park and took the shuttle in. Shuttle’s were great. We hope to visit again!

Wow! My favorite southwestern national park

By mvidro |

I loved this park--my favorite in the southwest. While astonishing to look down on the quickly eroding hoodoos of red, gold, and white, it's even more stunning to watch the sun backlight them at sunrise. We left our room (borrowing a blanket) and walked to Sunset Point. As light struck the white rock, it glowed translucently like alabaster.

For the super fit, you could join those running on the trail below (perhaps practicing for an Ironman competition).

View to take your breath away!

By Emma S |

Wow! Just wow! I’d highly recommend the walk from upper inspirational point round to sunset point! Just stunning!

Beautiful Red Rock formations

By Tonya |

This place is amazing!!! It has beautiful red rock formations, and you can drive and see all these big rocks. You can also pull over and get out to see these rock formations.

Just as beautfiul as everyone says

By Lvtripplanning |

I liked the fact that the VC has extended hours in the summer. I was able to visit this park in the evening while on my road trip through Utah. After stopping at the Visitor Center I took the scenic drive and opted to drive the entire way to Yovimpa Point. Then when you are coming back all the scenic overlooks are on the right hand side making it easy to get in and out of the parking lots. I was worried that parking would be crazy with visitors coming to watch the sunset, but found spaces at all the overlooks. Even with entering the park at 6 PM, I was able to drive the scenic route and see everything I wanted to see before the sunset. I did not do any hiking, but can only imagine how gorgeous it is to see everything from the bottom of the canyon. A must see National Park and the crowds weren't as bad as I thought they would be.

It's absolutely magical!

By JMD6694 |

How does one review a national park?? They are magnificent and Bryce is no exception. The views are unbelievable. We stopped at every viewpoint and hiked between many - every angle is slightly different but still amazing.

Beautiful NP

By BerEb |

A beautiful breathtaking NP. There are many hikes that are really worthwhile. You can drive to great sitepoints.
It is worth asking in the Visitor Center about events that take place during the day or in the evening. There are nice rangers there who are happy to help!

Driving trip through Bryce

By AmersM22 |

WE visited Bryce Canyon in beginning of May 2023. It was very pretty, not very busy. It still had snow at the very top areas and some areas/trails were closed due to the snow. We took our camper van which is 24 ft. long, we could not take it to any of the sites for the amphitheater area, we had to park and take the shuttle bus. We did drive to the end and stop at the stops all the way to the end.
We didn't go to hike just a quick trip to see the main sites. It's very pretty and all view points are easy to get to. Shuttle bus was clean and drivers were all nice and helpful. Next time we will go when there isn't any snow so we can do some of the hikes.

Hoodoo Heaven

By Johnny-Boricua |

This was our 2nd NP on a Utah parks road trip. The park is big enough to warrant shuttle buses with 9 stops within the park. Apparently, this is to ease parking at the popular stops. Our first stop was the visitor's center to determine the best way to spend our time there. I recommend the vc as everyone's first stop. The rangers are extremely helpful. The shuttle is the fastest way around the park.

We jumped on the shuttle and got off on the first stop. The trails all start on top of the canyon, so you are looking down the entire time. The views were amazing. With the sun setting, the shadows & angle of the sun lit up the hoodoos. There are trails that take you down into the hoodoos where you can get lost and really explore the canyon below. The view stretches beyond the hoodoos and show the entire desert landscape for hundreds of miles. Every stop on the shuttle puts you on trails with views just as good as the last. Regardless of how many pictures of video you may have seen, nothing can compare to soaking it all in with your own eyes.

The next day, we did a few trails on the bottom of the canyon near the back entrance of the park (Not too far from Tropic, UT). There's a small parking lot that leads to the trails that run along a stream with wooden bridges crossing over the streams. The trails a quite steep as you head uphill. So we definitely joined the "Out of breath" hiker's club. There was a beautiful water fall that was not too strong. There is enough room to walk under it and grab a drink of that ice cold canyon stream water. I even filled my water bottle. The water tasted and would be a welcome relief in warmer weather, It was in the 50 degree range that day.

We did not venture into the hoodoos from the top of the canyon. We did the remaining trails that we missed the day before. Some of the trails were steep (especially to Summit Point) but the views were amazing.

BCNP has a lodge but it in tucked in the woods. It has that typical rustic NP charm, The gives it the architecture at log cabin feel that brings the canyon country outdoors into the lodge.
The town outside the main entrance is Bryce Canyon City. There are 3 hotels just outside the gate. The first shuttle stop is there with a huge parking lot. The gas station is there with a shop. There are restaurants there. There is a rodeo within a mile of the gate.

There were many excursions we passed on for lack of time, for example jeep rides, helicopter rides, guided hikes, etc. Next time we visit, we will spend more days & take advantage of the neighboring parks & natural attractions, like Staircase-Escalante.
I highly recommend you check this off your bucket list. If you are an outdoor junkie, spend at least 3 days. The hiking will wear you down and you'll have to recover in the hotel hot tubs. However, to avoid the heat, it is recommended you visit during Sept-Oct OR April-May. Don't hesitate. Just go.

Beautiful scenery

By Hans |

Although we have here before, it can’t hurt to visit it a second time. Previous we came with our car into the park but to avoid parking issues, this time we parked at the shuttle station and traveled by bus which is far more relaxing. You can hop off and on as many times as it pleases you. We got out of the bus at Bryce Point and took the 3 mile Rim Trail to Sunset? Point. There is a visitor center with a half hour movie program. A great park with magnificent views.

Accessible views

By Heather |

There's a free shuttle that runs every 10-15 minutes which is very convenient if you're looking to check out different view points without driving. There are multiple trails with varying degrees of difficulty, but you can see the hoodoos from a sidewalk without having to do any hiking. If you have a national park passport book you can stamp it in the gift shop on the far side of the registers.

great visit with some hiking needed

By dishen z |

definitely should visit. a hike inside the canyon is a must. some part of the hike may be challenging for very elderly or people with physical challenges, but mostly very enjoyable.

Amazing in the slow season

By Rich S |

I had been to Bryce Canyon before, but only the Summertime. Going in November was amazing. It was cold, which was better for hiking. And the lack of crowds (especially before 10am) gave us many opportunities for photos that I never could have had during a Summertime visit. Starting at Queen's Garden Trail and ending at Navajo Loop Trail was a perfect way to see just about the entire park with just a half-day visit.

Bryce Canyon colors

By Kathy W |

Bryce canyon National Park is such an amazing park. The colors and shapes of the spires and hoodoos is like being in a different world. The park lets you get close enough to be able to appreciate the unusual shapes and colors and views from many different angles and directions.

Amazing

By lilix1966 |

I have seen beautiful things made by nature but this one surpasses many. After the entrance to the park, you drive in step with the possibility to see deer.
You have different views but I recommend sunset view.
It's breathtaking, it's magical, it's nature in all its glory.
The photos speak for themselves

Best National Park...

By Nicole B |

Bryce Canyon was even better than the Grand Canyon.
Many stops along the route. Large information centre. Nice viewpoints. Camping possible. Nearby accommodation options. Restaurant available at entrance/exit. Always happy to.

Awesome any time of year

By ThomUSA |

Despite the -10F windchill, it was still an awesome experience. Granted you can't go down into the canyon due to ice and falling rocks, it is till so majestic. Nice too you can see Capitol Reef in the distance. Worthy of a separate trip. This was my first time back in 35 years...and that was in the middle of the Summer when it can get quite hot and the trails strenuous, mainly due to altitude. But I wanted to see it in Winter, with a layer of snow like powdered sugar across the landscape. If coming from I-15, come from Cedar City and use Hwy 14 for some more breathtaking views as an added bonus.

Spring Break

By Amber |

This is one of my favorite National Parks! Easy drive and a lot to see and do!
If you visit in the winter, wearing spikes on your shoes would be helpful!

Always Unique, Fires Have Scarred Some Hillsides

By KenVicLee |

We had a good day in the park despite rain threatening all day. We even managed to have a picnic lunch albeit in a slightly burned out area in the park. This was our second visit in the last few years. The park doesn't disappoint given its hoodoos and panoramic views. Unless you are going to hike amongst the hoodoos, though, it is pretty easy to visit all the sites in one day.

The best of all

By Marcia P |

Just wonderful.
The best and most diverse park in the United States.
At least 3 days to visit this paradise

Impressive park

By Daan V |

Bryce Canyon NP was the fifth National Park we visited during our trip. What an impressive park! The nature is beautiful and the trails are very beautiful. We did the Navaro Loop and Queen’s Garden Trail. Then we visited several viewpoints. The staff were very friendly, both in the visitor center and on the shuttle buses. These buses were very well arranged, so it was nice to be able to leave the car aside for a while.

The National Park at the top of the staircase.

By Mcation |

We visited in December most of the park was closed and that left us to experience Bryce with the winds and a group of friends. If you wanted you could practically just drive through take a few pics and miss the grandeur. It’s only when you look around you realize you are up too looking down. We were lucky to catch the sunrise at sunrise point it was really cold and windy, like 50 mph windy blowing up the amphitheater. I’m sure there are tons of lost ball caps somewhere with mine. We never even saw where it went. The winter sunrise was breathtaking and without the wind blowing sand up the canyon walls onto us it would have been great. We went out of the park after sunrise and ate. Came back and hiked down into the hoodoos it was a great morning in Bryce. Yon can hike several trails, we chose to hike until around 4 the sun was fading and it was getting pretty cold with the wind. Bryce is beautiful in a more subtle way then Zion or the Grand Canyon.

MAGNIFICENT COLORS

By Patricia J |

A splendid place, we visited the park, monument etc... this one is my favorite, it's so impressive. I recommend the park card/pass which we paid 80 dollars for 2 years for 2 people rather than paying at each park, it is much more economical, not valid for Indian parks.
For this one, a normal pair of shoes unless you go down to the bottom because it slips a little, we take the car, we stop in a parking lot then we walk a little, then we get back in the car etc. ...really everyone can do it by staying on the roads.

Spectacular, beautiful and unique.

By STraveler2 |

Totally spectacular and unique. Hiking the Queens Garden trail is not difficult and is a must do. Takes 3 hours if you really take your time. The rim drive is great and stops are nearly all interesting and beautiful. Parking lots fill up early between June and September. No services (even bathrooms) at the bottom of the canyon (hiking only - no other way to get there) so plan accordingly. We would highly recommend this park to everyone.

Stunning and Incredibly Beautiful

By Cryptic_Tourist |

Bryce was my absolute favorite of the Mighty Five. It truly feels like you’re on another planet. We came for sunrise and it was truly unbelievable. My sister and I hiked the Navajo Loop/Queen’s Garden Trail and it was insanely cool and beautiful. The hoodoos are just so neat. I can’t say enough about how unique it is. Just get there early and you’ll find parking no problem for sunrise, also if you hit the trail a little before sunrise it’ll be virtually empty.

Beautiful Bryce Canyon

By AmyN |

Bryce Canyon is a little out of the way, but worth the drive. We went before heading to Zion NP. It was snowing in Bryce, but that just added to the beauty of the landscape. The viewpoints are well marked and parking is available. We did not have time to hike here, but the views are worth the trip.

Amazing viens, not too touristy

By Mari B |

Less popular than Zion National Park but not less beautiful. The fairyland Loop was a perfect hike with the most amazing scenery. Even if it is 14K, it is worth every hours spent on it.

Spectacular view and beauty.

By PAUL L |

There scenery was spectacular. We visited both South and North rim of Grand canyon and I found the view of Bryce more amazing and beautiful

Bryce Canyon National Park is the BEST!

By John J |

We started our trip at Arches National Park. Then we stopped at Canyonland. Then on to Dead Horse Point State Park. Finally, we did Bryce. Hands down, for scenic stops for 3 straight hours, Bryce was the best. After a stop at the Visitor's Center, we drove 18 miles to then end of the trail, passing all of the stops along the way, and we worked our way backward toward the entrance. Drive 5 minutes, pull over at the scenic view area, hike a little to the overlooks, take a LOT of photos, and repeat, all the way down the mountain. 10,000 steps and 3 hours later we wrapped it all up, VERY tired and VERY satisfied. Don't miss this place if you're planning a vacation!

Colorful landscape, good camping

By Kris F |

Bryce was beautiful! We camped in Loop D of North Campground. We were impacted a bit by the fires in the canyon, but not enough to leave the park. Campsites are nicely spaced out. Bathrooms were heated which was nice on chilly mornings. Almost all trails are accessible from the campground. Bus service is available to all trail heads as well as Ruby's, just outside the park. We rented bikes from the vendor in the park and rode the multiuse trail and all the way to Ruby's.
I would love to return to Bryce.

Beautiful rock formations

By EvBeE |

We were pulling a 27 foot 5th wheel and were not permited to drive to the various view points along the rim route. FYI - if your RV/trailer is over 20 feet you are required to take a shuttle. No problem -park in the large parking lot across from the Visitor's Center. The Shuttle comes every 15 minutes. Parking lots along the shuttle route were pretty full even for first week in May, so would recommend the shuttle any time. Many drop off locations. All require you to walk to the viewpoint area. You cannot see the beautiful rock formations from the road. Beautiful views. Lots of hiking trails.

Still great, but more parking needed

Sadly, Bryce Canyon isn't the sparsely visited National Park it used to be. Like, nearby Zion Canyon, Bryce desperately needs more parking areas, or it needs to require timed reservations. It took 20 minutes (even longer than was required the next day at Zion National Park) to secure a parking space to hike the Navajo Trail. Yes, there is a shuttle bus (very inconvenient here) and for an extra 1/2 mile one-way walk, we could have parked at the park lodge and found more parking. Bryce also seems to close the Navajo loop trail a lot in the past 5 years. In fact, all 3 times I've visited in that period, it was either entirely, or partially closed. You've just got to plan on more people to visit here now....

Magnificent and Unusual Scenery

By Edward |

We spent two nights just outside the entrance to this national park at the end of December 2021 and ha a wonderful time exploring the park. It is the location of weather-worn rock formations called hoodoos, similar to the Fairy Chimneys of Kapadokya in Turkey. They are numerous and striking.

Parts were closed because it was winter and there was a fair amount of snow and ice but we had plenty to see and hike through to take up our time and still have more to see. There is a dead-end scenic drive through the park from the entrance down to an end which we could not reach because that part was closed. There are numerous trailheads and viewpoints along the road, with parking. Some of these have specific entries on Tripadvisor and include those like the Navajo Loop Trail, Queen's Garden Trail, Silent City, and Thor's Hammer. All are excellent. They include trails to walk or hike from the road/parking area along the ridge with views, or down in to the hoodoos. Specific information on those is available under their entries.

Parking lots may fill up, sometimes requiring one to park elsewhere and walk to a specific spot, but there are views everywhere to enjoy

Incredible beauty

By Margaret O |

Bryce Canyon National Park is an unusual geological phenomenon! The hoodoos are magnificent and intriguing and the walks through the park each provide different views. A stop at the visitor center is a must and watch the video about the park, its seasons, the wildlife, and preservation efforts. So thankful to have hiked through here to enjoy this natural wonder!

One of the best park experiences in my life.

By Spockis54 |

This place is like nothing else on the planet (in my experience, anyway). My wife descended into the Canyon and did a loop to ascend at another trail head. It was magical, being literally right down in among the hoodoos and red rock formations. And it was surprisingly not too crowded. The climbing was a bit of a challenge but not that bad, even for those of us approaching seventy.

A wonderful highlight of our 2 week tour of the southwest.

NPS does an outstanding job!

By Kelly Y |

This is my 3rd favorite Utah NationalPark, behind Zion and Arches, but it is still a must-see.

The NPS does a stellar job, creating overlooks and trails for people to enjoy the park. Really impressive work!

Allow 6 hours or so to drive straight to the far end and work your way back, stopping and absorbing all the overlooks.

Breathtaking...

By Yohan M |

If there are landscapes that leave you speechless, Bryce Canyon is undoubtedly one of them... 🤩
We understand better why the NPS voted this park as the most beautiful in the United States.
The ideal is to start with sunrise at Sunrise Point and continue with the Queens Garden Trail hike.
Expect to be amazed!!! 😍

A gem

By pascamel |

Honestly, this is the park that I preferred
The light
The landscape
The immensity
We took a trip to the park for about 3 hours and it was magnificent.
There was also snow remaining which gave contrast to the daylights.
The next day we did the sunrise over the park and it was unique
Really to do

Bryce Canyon

By danamc01 |

What a great park. The hoodoos are so very cool. It snowed when we were there so the hoodoos looked so pretty. i loved seeing them with the snow all over them. There was lots of snow so we could not go on any trails. We enjoyed the sites and played in the snow,

Awesome Park !

By Floridians33596 |

We had a WONDERFUL time at this fantastic National Park! It is incredible how mother nature has created such a masterpiece! Both the sunrise and sunsets should not be missed. There is a shuttle which I understand is a good way to see this park however in early October we had no trouble finding parking and took wonderful photos at virtually every point! If this park is not on your bucket list, it should be. Don't miss it.

breathtaking

By pdge2501 |

It was a long journey from our hotel to the park, but it was worth it.
For the entrance fee of $35, you are rewarded with a breathtaking view. We were there at 10am in the morning (open 24 hours), and the park was already well attended.

Bryce Canyon

By Tammy H |

It was a very beautiful place to visit. The formations were views were amazing. I loved you could drive the whole park and walk trails if you choose. We have the Guide Along app. It gave so much good information. We loved it and Bryce Canyon City.

Bryce in the Winter

By Jerome |

Bryce Canyon National Park is a pristine location in central Utah. there is easy access and nice roads for the drive. there is the possibility of Road closures due to snow but otherwise it's a good drive. Bryce has many pullout locations with an easy walk to the lookouts. winter can be quite cold and you will probably need a coat to be outside, even for short lengths of time. The spires and hoodoos throughout Bryce are an amazing sight to see and during the winter months you get snow capped mountains. I have driven these roads many times but Winter continues to be one of my favorites time of the year!!

Bryce Canyon a must see

By jashmawa |

We stayed 2 nights in Bryce Canyon City which is only a 10 minute drive to the Bryce Canyon NP. We stayed at Ruby's Inn Best Western and I would recommend staying here. We had a full day in the park. We drove around the rim stopping at Bryce Point and Inspiration Point to soak in the magnificent hoodoos which rise from the canyon floor. We started our trail at Sunset Point and walked the Two Bridges and Queen Victoria Garden Trail which was a loop finishing at Sunrise Point. We then walked back to Sunset Point. Fabulous walk. The ground was a bit muddy, icey and slushy with snow having fallen the week before. We hired cleats from Ruby's Inn at a cost of $10.00 each which were well worth the hire. It made for a non slippery walk. We were so lucky to see the canyon partially covered in snow to enhance the beauty. In the afternoon we walked the Rim Trail from Bryce Point to Sunset Point and back again. Absolutely fabulous with stunning views of the canyon. You will enjoy.

our favourite NP of the Utah mighty five

By NZPOPPY |

Stunning national park, and our favourite of the Utah mighty five. We stayed in the western cabins at Bryce Canyon lodge and this was part of the magic. We watched sunset and sunrise - just a minutes walk from the cabin.
On our arrival it snowed and the hoodoos looked beautiful in snow. We love the walks and walked 10 miles a day. The shuttle bus was great to use as well.

Beautiful Hoodoos!

By Betty |

The landscape is awesome. We visited Sunrise Point, Sunset Point and Inspiration Point. We were impressed with the hoodoos rock formations. The park offers stunning views and trails. This is a definitely a must visit park!

Nice tour of a beautiful national park!

By Bill H |

This is the most beautiful place on earth. It is magnificent. The tour takes you to all the scenic places in the park and introduces you to the history of the place. The tour guide was so friendly and funny. He must really enjoy his job! His knowledge of the area was good and he was native to this area of the Country, so he knew it well. I would recommend this tour if your time in Bryce is limited. It will get you to the key viewing spots with little hassle.

great park but...

By PinchOnTheGo |

The park is great (or what we could see of it), the only negative was that most of the main road was closed, apparently due to weather (or short staff or is this the case every winter?). We would have really appreciated if the ranger at the entrance would have warned us of that prior to our paying the entry fee.

DISABLED/HANDICAPPED IN RVs BEWARE OF NEW CHANGES OF NO ACCESS IN AREAS

By sitkasmom |

We have been to Bryce Canyon National Park dozens of times over the past 2 decades & this recent trip was met with a HUGE disappointment. If you are in an RV or a vehicle 23 ft or more you cannot park at The Visitor Center, Any of the Amphitheatre sites & more (the list below is from NPS SITE). You have to park your vehicle across the street from the Visitor Center & walk to the shuttle stop & then take the shuttle to access these areas. You must go downhill from the parking lot & then uphill upon returning. My 71 year old husband ( a disabled vet) & 19 year disabled granddaughter could not do it. We bought the 26 ft RV for easier traveling for them & had no idea we could not access these areas. So our 1st of many times going to Bryce Canyon where we did not get to see Thor's Hammer & not go to The Visitor Center to get our passport stamps & other things. Seeing the Amphitheatre & Thor's Hammer is a main highlight of our trips there & I cannot tell you how disappointed we were in this change. I would think the park would have something set aside for people who are disabled and handicapped for these areas for those with larger vehicles. Lesson Learned the hard way. Here is the list of non accessible areas for larger vehicles per NPS website:

Due to rising vehicle congestion and interference with park shuttle operations, vehicles 23 feet (7 meters) and longer are restricted from parking in the following areas during park Shuttle Season (typically mid-April to mid-October). These restrictions apply while park shuttles are operating (8 a.m. to 8 p.m. with shorter hours to 6 p.m. in April and October).

Generally speaking, these restrictions apply to facilities and viewpoints in the popular Bryce Amphitheater area of the park, found along the first three miles of the main park road. There are no oversized vehicle restrictions along the Southern Scenic Drive (miles 4 - 18).

Restricted areas include:

The Visitor Center
Sunrise Point (includes General Store and Historic Gas Station Area)
Bryce Lodge (unless you are staying in a Lodge/Cabin/Motel Unit)
Sunset Point
Inspiration Point
Bryce Point
Paria View (Restriction always in place due to parking lot size)
For more information, see the Oversized Vehicle Restrictions page.

BRYCE TRULY AMAZING - Hiker or not you can see all sights

By PlusSizeAdventurer |

Our National Parks trip of UTAH, what's easiest, what's doable with limitations. Bryce is... Lots of paved pathways to get you around that have AMAZING Overlooks. There are some inclines here because you are looking DOWN into the Canyon YOU CAN DO IT. Don't miss this one!

Beautiful strong emotions

By Cinzia |

Just fantastic.... Less famous than the grand canyon but I definitely prefer it.... One of the most beautiful things I've seen in my life! Just a half day to make a visit by car to reach the various scenic points... If you don't have much time... I recommend the afternoon to enjoy at the end of the visit the beautiful sunset that gives new colors and emotions

A stunning overview

By Kevin S |

I hadn't heard much in advance about Bryce Canyon so the park was an excellent surprise. The views of what are called 'hoodoos' here are absolutely breathtaking. Geologically pushed up mountains over millions of years eroded by weather, particularly ice from rain have created hundreds of pinnacles of red stone over a large area you get fantastic views of this stunning unusual landscape. Viewpoints are generally from above creating a great outlook. There are many trails to walk close up and in between these rocks, some are posted with distances and times but you have to prepare. It was hot on a late May day, 86f, 30c at the start yet at the very top after a drive it was 63f, 17c with a short hailstone shower.
Sunrise or Sunset points are special. An easy flat ten minute walk between them. Inspiration Point Lower similarly outstanding and a short but uphill walk to Inspiration Upper is also great. Loved these photogenic hoodoos.

National Parks do not disappoint!

By Michele B |

AMAZING!!!! Yea God! A very well run shuttle system, lots of great overlooks and some nice, easy trail options for those needing that. Just incredible!

Horseback trail ride in Bryce Canyon

By Kristina G |

The horseback riding trail that included the Peakaboo loop was AMAZING! Even my husband had an awesome time and he didn’t care much that I booked it. My teenage boys LOVED it, and making teenage boys happy is rare! Highlight of their vacation they said and we did a lot of cool things. Quincy was a great guide and we all enjoyed his jokes. Bryce Canyon itself is simply breathtaking and I encourage everyone to visit at least once!

Pictures do not do this place justice.............Bryce is a must see!!!!!

By Sara C |

Bryce Canyon is breathtaking. We drove from Las Vegas and saw Zion and Bryce the same day. Bryce Canyon is simply magnificent. Even having seen pictures before visiting - it doesn't do justice to the beauty of Bryce Canyon. There are numerous hotels/resorts and campsites available in the nearby area. I can not recommend it highly enough if you are within a few hours' drive it is well worth it.

One of my happy places

By AnnaMarieT917 |

Bryce Canyon is one of my happy places. The views are so spectacularly wonderful, the setting is beautiful , and you truly feel you’re in gods country.

A fabulous day in the Ampitheatre.

By GriffnLeanne |

Even though Bryce Point was closed and the full road was closed due to snow and ice which had not been cleared on the road, we had an amazing day in Bryce Canyon. Walked a mile along the Rim Track and back to Sunrise Point. Then from sunset point on the Navajo Loop Trail and Queens Garden trail loop. This was a fabulous loop to do and well worth it. Also Inspiration Point and the view from the higher Point was equally great over the whole ampitheatre. Even though there was plenty of snow around the trails are well packed with snow and easy to walk along especially with trax on your shoes. We started the Peekaboo Loop trail as well and were impressed with how easy it as to walk and identify trails. Disappointing the roads weren’t all opened, but thoroughly enjoyed our day and highly recommend.

Go Do The Hoodoos That You Do So Well!!

By BaldnRed |

This has been on my bucket list for several years now. We finally got a chance to get to Bryce and it was well worth the wait. We hiked down into the canyon and I failed to research the fact that Bryce Canyon is 9000ft above sea level. The hiking is a little tougher because of the thin air so keep that in mind.

Mother Nature at her Best!

By Robin W |

No words or pictures can express the magnificence of Bryce National Park.
This park should be on everyone’s bucket list! It’s absolutely gorgeous !

Horrible restaurant availability

By David A |

It was cold and desolate, yet majestic in a totally different way from Zion; remember, the elevation is 8000+ feet.

The food situation in the off-season is really pathetic. The only “decent” restaurant with OK reviews was The Pines, apparently under new ownership. No beer license. The food was pretty good, but NO BEER.

Overall, somewhat disappointing. If I did it again, I would stay overnight for one night only. There’s just not much to do.

Needed more time here

By Krr1975 |

Visited here on a bus trip. We had a wonderful step on guide and a great 2 hour tour. Went to a couple of overlooks and each were different. Would definitely recommend visiting here!

WOW! Beautiful place

By Veronica L |

We visited April 1, 2023. There was a lot of snow on the ground but the roads and parking lots were dry. Some of the paths were clear of snow, others were snow packed. We were glad we had our winter coats, hats, gloves, scarves, etc. it was very cold and breezy. We wore tennis shoes and hiking shoes every where we went and were fine. I’d wear waterproof hiking boots next time to keep my feet warmer.
Our favorite spots were
1) Bryce Point at sunrise. Best view especially at sunrise or in the morning. The parking lot was dry but the short trail was snow packed and icy in spots. Be very careful where you step. It was freezing cold and windy. Go prepared.
2) Inspiration Point in the morning. You feel like you have a close up view of the hoo-doo’s. They were lit up bright in the morning sun. The parking lot was dry and the short trail to the overlook was dry. Other trails going up the hill and down the hill were covered in snow.
3) Sunset Point is better in the morning than at sunset. Lol. We got there about an hour before sunset and half of the canyon was dark. We wish we would have seen it in the morning or middle of the day or even a couple of hours before sunset. It was still worth the visit. The parking lot was clear of snow but some of the walkways to the view point had packed snow and some puddles of water. The trail along the rim at Sunset Point was clear and dry. It was a really pretty View. You are very close to hoo-dood and feel like you can reach out ands touch them. The Navajo Trail was closed.
4) Sunrise Point. You can walk from Sunset Point to Sunrise Point along the rim. The trail was snow packed. We had tennis shoes and made it just fine. It was very cold and we were glad we had winter coats, hats and gloves.
5) The Visitor Center has good information, nice restrooms, fun displays for the kids and the best souvenir shop.

One of the most beautiful places in the USA

By EH6695 |

Bryce Canyon is one of the top three in the NP. This canyon is one of my favorite places and just a dream. The canyon reminds me of a New York of canyons. I find this place very special. As a canyon it comes directly behind the antelope, but we only saw it later on the trip. We even went down a little bit, I not quite as far as my young fellow travellers. So absolutely if you're around here.

Otherworldy Scenery

By Tom Y |

Amazing rim drive, great hiking. Worth the detour. If you only have a limited amount of time the overlook drive is well worth it. Highly recommended that you try some hiking too.

Stunning views

By Dan Sypkes |

Great national park with so many lookouts and walks to do. Would recommend a day trip. Walks that do into the amphitheatre are fantastic.

My favourite national park

By Jo B |

This was my second time to Bryce Canyon and it just gets better. This time we had time for hiking and hiked from sunset point to sunrise point. So beautiful.

Amazing Views

By dotravels |

We drove the scenic road and made stops at the viewpoints. We spent most of our time at Rainbow Point, Natural Bridge and Inspiration Point. The views are amazing!

BREATHTAKING

By Victoria M |

Breathtaking! Absolutely not to be missed. Don't drive thise on your own (unless you have a travel app). We used Bryce Canyon Scenic Tous and it was OUTSTANDING. Our guide knew so much and informed us on so many features of the park. We had a nice samll van (only 5 of us in it) and loved the experience.

Winter Weather limited Views

By D V |

So you take a chance when you visit some of these places in colder months. We arrived before visitor center open. Drove further on into the park to find barriers saying closed due to snow. Turned around and back to wait at V. Center. Found out most of the park was closed due to weather. Able to drive to Bryce Point. Arriving there - very foggy. Couple coming back from scenic overlook said it wasnt really worth the hike as it was too foggy, couldnt see anything. We opted to walk up there. Stood and waited. Fog did lift some and we were able to view some hoo-doos. The snow was up over some of the fences and guardrails, making some of the path too treacherous for my young kids to walk on. Some points could not tell where the edges were. Wanted to hike but rangers recommended only doing it with special footwear - way too slippery without. Day after our visit we read that the Navajo trail closed due to retaining walls collapsing. Stopped at Sunset and Sunrise point - lower elevations too foggy to see anything - again deep snow there. We were probably only in the actual park for 1 - 2 hrs at the most due to weather. Hope to return and see in different season

Bryce Canyon National Park in southwestern Utah, USA
Bryce Canyon is a natural amphitheater excavated by the erosive force of water.
The park is famous for its unique rock formations called Hoodoos (rocks that have been eroded into columnar shapes). The natural landscape of the entire hoodoos is truly spectacular! !
The trails are also very comfortable and worth a walk.

WoW….

By pierre c |

Difficult to describe this park... magnificent, extraordinary, unforgettable... and the same points are differently splendid depending on the light, the sun, the clouds... ohhhh my Goddd!

absolutely stunning

By James K |

Absolutely stunning, a different gorgeous view everywhere you turn at every stop along the driving route and the hiking trials

Beautiful, most of the park closed

By JW041 |

Visited 4-1-23. Most of the park was closed but you still had to pay full ticket price of $35. The very few spots that were open had full parking lots with cars forming a line waiting for a parking spot. Sometimes I waited at least 10 minutes in line simply for a place to park. The sidewalks were covered in snow. Some sections had multiple feet of snow. Everyone was crammed in trying to take photos. But, the hoodoos look even more amazing with snow.

The most beautiful park in America!

By MissDegustatrice |

The most beautiful park among those we visited! We went on several hikes and saw Pocock Marmots who are very sociable!
We arrived at Bryce Point (elevation 8300) by hiking and starting from Sunset Point; many start from Bryce Point, but I recommend starting from Sunset Point because it is less steep uphill!
Another wonderful view we admired from Inspiration Point.
We moved with the bus included; certainly to save some gas and not get lost with parking is a great solution1

An experience that everyone should have at least once

By Wesley R |

Sunrise at Bryce is a must! Cold gear is advised lol. An experience worth the trip that’ll I’ll definitely do again! Pure magic

Bryce Canyon National Park

By sunrise99 |

We toured a number of National Parks in the Utah district. This was my favourite. I loved the vibrant rich colours and the hoodoos. Absolutely amazing. Definitely number 1 on my list. I highly recommend you visit this park.

Spectacular View

By tbwright |

Bryce Canyon amphitheater is spectacular! We highly recommend booking a tour to see the best spots without having to fight for parking. Ours was a three hour tour that took us to the major viewpoints stress free. Because the park gets so crowded, you literally can not find a place to park to get to the view points. This is were the tour was very helpful because they have a bus lane parking pass. We did not hike the Navaho trail as planned due to a cold windy day and a muddy trail. We did hike the Mossy cave trail, which is a much quieter section of the park.

Impressive

By Stephane |

Very impressive site. We go from a forest to an immense ravine with these geological curiosities that are Hoodoos. Possibility of horseback riding, cycling but also hiking or just a walk or car ride between the different viewpoints.

Great Park with Hoodoos

By DannyWasserman |

Amazing Park with amazing formations of mountain tops, jagged lines, hoodoos, and so many breath taking scenes. We took so many photos. We loved this place and would love to go back.

Simply natural beauty

By MAP12 |

Amazing colors and views. Photos just don't do it justice. We did a couple short hikes (walks) and drove to the rest. Well worth a day!!

High Elevation Mighty 5

By old-man-orange |

If there is one thing that you can do if you live in the US is to tour the 'Mighty 5' National Parks - Arches, Canyonlands, Zion and Capital Reef and this beauty.

The scenic road to the top is full of great viewing stops, and goes to 9000+ foot elevation. Even in early April there are still many snowy spots but on a warm day the roads were clear.

All Mighty 5 are unique to themselves and I never get tired of red rocks!

Awesome

By Emilee N |

Absolutely beautiful. You don’t hear about it a lot: mostly you’ll just hear about Zion. But this park is better for families.

Great Views!!!

By Bob |

Bryce Canyon was second of three National Parks we were going to see today, the first one was the Grand Canyon North Rim. We took the Amphitheater Scenic Drive, it didn’t disappoint us, we took a short trail at Inspiration Point & took some amazing pictures!!!

Absolutely beautiful

By saalfeldk68 |

I absolutely loved this park. The rock formations were so beautiful and unique. It was extremely hot but it was still fun.

Spectacular National Park Rivaling the Grand Canyon for Awe

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

A spectacular place. Rivals the Grand Canyon for awesome views. Arrive early to find a parking spot and then use the park shuttles to get around. Alternatively stay at the Bryce Canyon Lodge which is the only lodging in the park so that you can get a sunrise start to your day. Views all along the rim of the Bryce Amphitheater from Bryce Point to Sunrise Point are amazing. The busiest section is between Sunrise and Sunset Points where there is a paved path, and the views might be the best but hiking along the rim from Bryce Point to Inspiration Point and further to Sunset Point is just as amazing and there is a gradual descent if you travel in that direction. Although you can have a great visit to Bryce just visiting the observation points or walking along the rim trail, a hike down into the canyon is truly spectacular and should be included if physically able. The best trail is the combination of hiking down the Navajo Loop Trail from Sunset Point through Wall Street and then connecting to the Queens Garden Trail which ascends to Sunrise Point. Great to hike anytime but most stunning in the early morning just after sunrise when the lighting for photography is at its best and crowds are less. Another great hike is the Fairyland Loop Trail. Much less crowded but a moderately strenuous 8-mile hike down and out of the canyon that was so rewarding. There are interesting viewpoints along the Bryce Scenic Drive that ends at Rainbow Point and that can't be accessed without a car as the shuttles do not travel along here but these don't compare to the views of the amphitheater and aren't an essential part of a visit to Bryce.

Very disappointing

By India B |

Such a let down! We paid $35 to enter the park and soon found out that 2 miles down, the road was closed. We looked on the map and made our way to Bryce point where we were met by police and park rangers who had closed the road as the parking lot was full. The ranger said it will reopen in approximately an hours’ time. We turned around and went to sunset point and the same thing happened there! I appreciate it’s the Christmas holidays so there will be more people about but why carry on letting visitors in if there is no where for them to park?! This was incredibly frustrating and after an hour of circling the parking lots were still shut and we left the park very disappointed. Upon leaving we were surprised to see cars still entering at this point.

Perfect in every way

By lmorgan138 |

This park was my favorite of the mighty five. It was easy to access, not crowded at all. And they had plenty of places to pull over or drive to and get some great views as well as pictures. It was stunning!
We did do a small hike to an arch and is was very pretty.
Sunset View and Fairyland Canyon was awesome! You can drive route 63 through the park.
You will love this place.

Bryce Canyon National Park

By GoVols79 |

Our family visited the 5 national parks in Utah over a week and Bryce Canyon might have been our favorite. We were fortunate to be able to stay onsite in the Sunset Lodge building which meant the canyon was only steps from our room. We were able to see the area at sunset, during the night and sunrise. Hiking down into the canyon was also great for a different perspective. Bryce Canyon is a smaller park and the compact nature makes it easy to visit and still see a lot of highlights. We love this unique national park and look forward to returning.

Stunning colors

By Robert D |

Bryce Canyon is a beautiful place to explore. You can admire the stunning colors from the rim walk. A nice walk is from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point. If you park near Sunset Point, remember that the shuttle bus runs in one direction only on the loop so it is easier to take the bus to Sunrise Point and walk back than vice versa.

National Park Explorer

By Donna F |

What a beautiful national park! It’s full of Native American lore, geologic wonders, and amazing views. Whether driving through or hiking its many trails, Bryce Canyon is a bucket list item. We absolutely loved it!

Bryce Canyon a must see for everyone!

By DamionBrown |

If you love national or state parks this one will not disappoint you or your family. You can see some amazing vistas by hiking, horse back riding, or by car. No matter the age group or the abilities of the group you are traveling with you will find suitable activities for everyone. Hint; you can see Zion National Park within driving distance of this park so it will save you time and money to consider an annual pass to go in and out of both parks or review the other passes available to veterans, gold star families, senior citizens etc that are free or at reduced rates. This location is a bucket list location hands down.

A Great Big Five Utah National Park

By jbg74 |

Due to the rain, low clouds, and fog, we weren't able to do any hiking in Bryce Canyon National Park but it was still cool to visit it. I'll have to come back in better weather. It was pretty cool seeing some of the viewpoints covered in fog with various features rising out of the mist.

The hoodoos are magical

By Nancy U |

Wow! What can I say about this park but a must visit. The bright orange colors of the hoodoos are magical. We drove to the top 18 miles and then made our way down stopping at lookouts. It took us about 2 hours. We didn’t do any hiking and still had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend!

to visit

By Fabrizio |

one of the parks visited during our trip to the west, the last in chronological order, really worth the visit.
As on other occasions we carried out various possible treks (the path that leads to the Queen's garden is really accessible to everyone and you can get to and from the starting and finishing points using the free shuttle), but we also used the car to go as far as to the farthest lookouts for our photos (up to Rainbow point)

Absolutely beautiful!

By Christophe |

One of the most beautiful national parks on the West Coast, absolutely essential
Action:
- Navajo loop combined if necessary with the queens trail (this makes a sunset point loop coming back via the rim trail) of about 2h30.
- views: sunset, sunrise, bryce point and inspiration point
Start hiking no later than 8am if you want to avoid the crowds (the park is very busy in summer)

FAVORITE NATIONAL PARK

By Emily Lee |

My favorite National Park so far! BEAUTIUFL views. Get there for sunrise, but watch it at SUNSET point....much less of a crowd there and you get an even more beautiful view than at SUNRISE point. Start your hike early, it's worth it! Beautiful, amazing park!

SO MUCH to see at Bryce Canyon, a must-go-to National Park

By BonnieS980 |

What a beautiful and indescribable place. I loved that we were able to get up close and personal (as much as was physically safe) to the landscape and enjoying sightings of wild animals, with no supervision. We could move around freely and just breathe in all the beauty. It is incumbant upon each of us to be smart and behave properly so that this treasure is there for everyone for years to come.
The staff was friendly and very helpful at the entrance gate.

Rim Trail

By Vicu |

Out of the 5 National Parks we visited in Utah, Bryce was our favorite. Thanks for offering the shuttle service and friendly staff especially Eric. We enjoyed the Rim trail in the morning.

Snow covered

By Snakewrangler |

It was covered with snow but still really cool. The park is easy to walk and look at. There was a really neat trail that goes down into the canyon.

Amazing rock formations and hoodoos

By Jerri L |

Spent two nights camping in the cdd as no grounds and colored the park. The beautiful hoodoos and rock formations look amazing when the sun shines on them casting shadows. We hiked the trails and spent half a day hiking from the campground around the rim to sunrise point, down queens garden to Navajo Loop where we hiked the two bridges trail up to sunset point then Cabo to the campground via the rim. Total hike was 3.55 miles. The switchbacks on Navajo Loop caught us by surprise but were manageable at a reasonable pace. The gift shops and visitor center are nicely stocked and the staff are very helpful. The general store with showers is very convenient too. The lodge has a very unique look with the “rippling” roof and has a very rustic appeal. The old photos on the walls are cool to look through. The scenic drive is amazing with so many easy access overlooks and viewpoints.

RED ROCK FOREVER

By Jeffrey L |

They handle crowds of international tourists every day and do it well. Free shuttle tour gives the highlights but there’s more to see. I recommend a GPS audio guide.n he rim walk seems very manageable and interesting. This isn’t quite as spectacular some of the other national parks but still very very worthwhile.

Worth the visit to see cool features

By Geoff F |

Really cool and unique formation. Worth doing a few hikes to get a real feel of the park and all the structures. 1-2 days is plenty.

Good but not the Best National Park

Overall good experience for a weekend getaway. You should be able to do everything you want in 2 full days since the park isn’t that big. Other than the Camp Host having some personal issues going on that was being projected onto the campers, I’d say it’s worth at least going once.

The Prettiest NP

By Verne K |

We've been to Bryce twice before, many years ago. Still one of the most amazing places to visit, but it's at an high elevation (8,000-9,100ft), and this is troublesome for those with respiratory problems. Numerous trails are present. We stayed at Bryce Canyon Lodge, which is fantastic, but no TV.

Bryce Canyon

By Michael C |

Every National Park in Utah is defferent than the rest.
Bryce Canyon was my favorite.
The hoodoos and walking the trails was breathtaking.

Unforgettable

By minniev |

I lost my fear of heights here it was just to amazing not to trek from top to bottom. It was breathtaking

To do absolutely

By Val |

This site is extraordinary as is his big brother the big cayon. Full of beautiful pictures and eyes... but ideally plan the day to visit it. A free shuttle bus passes every 15 minutes and drops you off at all points of view to see and bitches you at the parking lot .... organized very well. To do absolutely all the more because the price is reasonable 35 dollars per car..

Spectacular views

By jkcf44 |

This was an awesome place to visit. We had no problems parking close to the rim with only a few steps to walk to see the fantastic views! The altitude makes a different in your breathing ! Breathtaking views!

Breathtaking

By Chris E |

One of the most beautiful places I have been to in my life. It truly took my breath away and has some really fun hikes to really immerse yourself in. Honestly more impressive than the Grand Canyon.

Beautiful park, even with some of it closed.

By Smittywall |

My wife and I went at the end of March. Bryce point was super icy, we shouldn't have left the microspikes in the car. Also went to all 3 Inspiration points and walked from Sunset to Sunrise points. Microspikes were very helpful especially at Inspiration point. Pro tip, there is a rest stop just before the park, very clean, no lines, much better than Visitor center restroom. Would like to go back when Navajo Loop is open.

Absolutely Beautiful

By DIANE C |

We drive from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon and it was so worth the drive. One of the most breathtaking places we have ever seen. It was crowded compared to other parks and the weather was very pleasant. One of our favorite national parks so far!

What a gorgeous place. We're hiked here before & I cannot recommend it enough. We hired a guide & Oscar, was wonderful explaining everything. Definitively worth the money & he was GREAT.

Bryce

By bubba073 |

Beautiful. Recommend going early not just for lighting but th parking lots do fill up and close. lots of similar views.

March has a lot of snow

By Marcy H |

The end of March still had a great deal of snow. Many of the trails were closed. We could overlook the canyon and it was incredible with all the white snow. The temperature was 17 degrees, but it wasn't freezing with no wind. We will go back when more trails are open.

Wonderful

By Pascool |

Simply splendid in geological wonders of Mother Nature. It will take you practically the day if you see the majority of points of interest. Trip Tip: Use the shuttle for the first part of the sunset tour in bryce view as it is quite difficult to park. For the rest of the visit your car is essential.

Hoodoos

By Biblib3 |

Excellent sightseeing experience. Scenic overlooks located throughout the ride. Breathtaking views. Visitors center.

Only

By Ernst Fuchs 2nd |

Stunning surroundings. I recommend the downward hike from Bryce point along the rim trail, making a circular route in the final part. Breathtaking landscape in which the geological formations, the red earth and the green of the vegetation contrast. To remember

Beautiful

By starfff83 |

The panoramic view at the top of the canyon is magnificent. We went down into the canyon and hiked. The view is beautiful, the colors splendid. Be careful however the climb is hard enough not to venture with young children. To do absolutely.

Amazing nature

By micheledl2016 |

Bryce Canyon is my favorite of the mighty 5 Utah national parks. The color variations in the stone features were beautiful! Looked like castle turrets. Sunrise, sunset overlooks were awesome in late afternoon. Don't miss Bryce Point. It was spectacular !!!

Amazing Views

By Heather M |

Bryce Canyon is breathtaking and there are many different hikes as well as a horseback riding tour. There are hikes for all skill levels and one could easily spend a few days here. This is the coolest in temperature of the Utah Big 5 National Parks.

The visitors center has helpful park rangers and clean bathrooms, as well as a small museum to help you understand how the hoodoos formed. While there is a shuttle bus available to get people into and out of the park, we didn't use it because there was plenty of parking at the visitors center and the corral (where we started our horseback riding tour.) We arrived at the park around lunch time. I overheard some employees saying that October is the month in which they get the most visitors, so perhaps the shuttle bus is a better resource at that time.

The lodge is one of 3 National Park Lodges (Zion and Grand Canyon, North Rim being the other 2) designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood in the 1920's. It is the only original structure of the 3 lodges he designed. (The other 2 were burned in fires and have been reconstructed.) Of the 3 lodges, I found this one to be the least interesting architecturally, although the curved roof is fascinating.

There is food to be had, but we did not experience any of the dining at this park. We did visit the gift shop and it was very similar to the gift shop at Zion's Lodge.

What’s a Beautiful Scenery

By LightPacker308286 |

We spent one day and half auto tour at Bryce Canyon NP. First day we walked Sunrise Point, Queen’s Garden, Inspiration Point, and Bryce Point. We had lunch at Queen’s Garden. Viewing Niches on the Red Rocks at Bryce Point. The half day after we started from Sunset Point and walked along Navajo loop down to Two Bridges.

Bryce National Park

By Omahagma |

We allowed two days to see the park. If you like to hike it might be hard to do in one day. The visitor center offers a half hour video on the park. A nice introduction to viewing the park. Hard to pick one area that was my favorite as every view point offers a different view of beautiful scenery. Remember water if your hiking as it gets warm quickly.

Beautiful National Park

By Walter O |

Beautiful National Park located in Southwest Utah. The Hoodoos are so cool and are beautiful when viewed at sunrise. High elevation had a bit of snow on 11/1, but not too much. Well worth the trip! Awesome

Skip Zions if you're short on time and come here.

By cogator1103 |

Bryce is an AMAZING place! The Queen's Garden/Navajo Loop trail is not to be missed, if you're in any kind of shape. Be SURE to start from the Sunrise Point side early in the morning. It descends to the canyon bottom and there is NO shade. That way when it gets hotter, you will be on the much shadier Navajo Trail side.
This approximate 3.1 mile hike will take you through some of the most breathtaking and iconic vistas in the park. Inspiration Point to Bryce Point is another winner. The scenery along the way is stunning.
Sign up for the free stargazing ranger night tour as SOON AS YOU ARRIVE. They fill quickly.
Bryce is superior to Zions in my book for 3 reasons: 1. You can drive through the park. 2. The scenery is spectacular and right in your face. You can reach out and touch it. At Zions, things are mostly at a distance. 3. It's 10 degrees cooler than Zions.
Plan on 2-3 days here to hike the best trails and see the stars at night. Well worth the trip. Enjoy!

Great National Park

By ronald c |

This is an exceptional National Park. One of our favorites. It has the most unusual and distinct geological features.

Gorgeous

By drwatson32 |

This is a beautiful park! We hiked down to Wall Dtreet from Sunset Point. Wow! Being able to look up at the hoodoos from that vantage point was spectacular. The National Park store has some nice souvenirs. Ask about the junior ranger program!

Great National Park

By santhony |

Very popular National Park. We visited in mid-April, as part of a tour of the five National Parks strung across southern Utah, and while the temperatures at the other parks were very mild, this park at substantially higher elevation still had snow pack in places. In fact, our planned hike at Rainbow Point, the Bristlecone Loop was impossible due to ice and snow. I suspect it is mid-May before all the snow is gone.

The Park features MANY scenic overlooks along the length of the 20 mile long park road, the major attraction is found at the Lodge, which features an overlook of Bryce Canyon, filled with hoodoos and other rock formations. The Queen's Garden and Navajo Loop trails entail a descent, over 600 feet into the canyon, and then the necessary 600 foot ascent to the canyon rim. It is quite an exhausting climb, at elevation, but well worth the effort.

Fantastic

By Lucily88 |

This park also turned out to be a natural wonder. The view leaves you speechless. We had the chance to walk along the winding paths, surrounded by the steep gorges. Fantastic landscape.

1 night camping at sunset

By Chris C |

We stayed at sunset campground. We were worried since first come first serve but we’re able to get a great spot and it was only half full. Bathroom facilities were so clean which was surprising given I am used to provincial parks. Had evening programs at the lodge and very organized park. Wel managed and great place to see the Hodoos!

Do not miss Bryce Canyon

By ilovegreecetoronto |

Bryce Canyon is an absolute must see. The scenery, blue skies, colours, drive, bike path and hikes are all amazing.
The hikes are very well marked, washrooms clean and well serviced and trails are impeccable. The views are some of the most beautiful imaginable. The park is small so you could see it in a day but to truly experience the hikes and viewpoints, give it at least two.

Fabulous National Park

By Brian K |

Stunning park. Did the Rim Overlook Trail and Queen's Garden Loop. Unbelievable scenery. Had a great buffet lunch at the Lodge. Don't drive in, take the shuttle. Quick and efficient, and you won't waste time looking for parking.

Great NP in UT

By Russ H |

First time here, one of our favorites in UT! The hoodoos and red rocks are beautiful. Plus you also get the forest too! A definite must see if you like NPs.

Must see

By Lori T |

Bryce Canyon is beautiful. We arrived early enough we were able to drive around and get parking spots. If you arrive later or have a larger vehicle, it’s best to take the shuttle throughout the park. It comes every 15 minutes and stops at the major for locations on route, as well as a couple of hotels and the visitor center. There’s a very good movie in the visitor centre that explains how the park came to be. The hikes are well-maintained and are easily marked walking sticks are recommended. The Bruce amphitheatre has four points of interest with are worth the trek. If you arrive for Sunrise, the best one is at Bruce point. If time permits a nice drive around to the farthest point, which is rainbow point taking in all the locations and scenes. There’s a nice natural bridge on that route. The park is known for its which legend has it that the wolf thought people were bad and turned them into the hoodoo’s plan at least four hours in the park longer. If you’re taking the shuttle to see the sites that does not include any of the hiking trails that would be on top of it. If you are planning on travelling to more than two national parks, it is well worth buying the year pass.
Be very careful when driving through the park there’s a lot of Deers on the roadside and some even on the road

Absolutely stunning views!

By Dayna H |

This is the most beautiful National Park I have visited! The colors of the rocks and the seemingly millions of hoodoos combine for a sensory overload. Pictures cannot do justice to what the eyes are seeing. I would highly recommend spending a day or two at this park. And the wilderness area ( Swamp Canyon) was beautiful in a completely different way.

Bryce Canyon, beautiful scenery!

By Brenda K |

Beautiful National Park!! We loved the rock formations! Stunning scenery! The hoodoos in the canyon are unique. We enjoyed the horseback riding while there.

Drive to Inspiration Point when it is very busy

By Elly W |

We were here in mid-May.
And even early in the morning the parking lots are full, and people are lining up to walk the Navajo trail & the Queens garden.
Because we have been here before and have already walked this trail, we then continued to the West side.

We could easily park at Inspiration Point, but there were also shuttle buses

You walk up a short distance here, and then you can walk a well-walkable path along the rim, with beautiful photogenic views, as far as you want
A little further on you will encounter few people anymore.

Always an experience

By Armin E |

It is always very impressive for us and a mad experience to visit these, for us the most beautiful national park in the west. Make sure to take some time and go hiking in the canyon. There are very nice and easy to walk paths there.

Breath Taking Views

By Jerome |

My girlfriend and I were staying at a friends cabin in Duck Creek and took the drive up to and through Bryce Canyon. I've been here several time but it was the first time for my girlfriend and it was breath taking for her. Bryce is amazing at sunrise and sunset, and I absolutely suggest being there around one of those times.

This is what a "bucket list" target should be--breathtaking!

By 1234texas |

I have seen pictures of Bryce for years, and have had it on the list ever since. Finally getting to see it is a very special experience.
You have to get off the beaten path just to find it. Commercial air is not an option--you have to drive through some beautiful landscape and by many National Parks. Hotel accommodation options are not great. There are a few decent restaurants, but not all that many gas stations.
All that being said: find a way and the time to make it happen!
You will have to take your car into the park to see all the vistas--unless you camp and hike. There are people and cars at all the stopping points. Parking is a competitive sport because it is limited, slow, and tight. The road in and out is well maintained and has wonderful vistas all along the way. Picture taking can be very challenging if the snow and ice is on the paths. But, it is impossible to take a bad picture. The rock formations are truly works of art. You will be amazed!
On the drives to and from the park, be alert for many small rock formations that "pop up" along the way. They provide some genuine "close up" views of the formations you will see in the park.
If you have extra time, take the "million dollar highway" to the smaller National Parks east & north of Bryce. It was an incredibly challenging highway to build in the early 20 th century. The landscape on this drive is special--the native Americans considered (and still do) it spiritual. I think you will feel the same way.

One of my fondest memories. Breathtaking

By Régis1972 |

Discovery of the Bryce Canyon Park after visiting the Grand Canyon and... a huge crush for this place including rock turrets and needles surmounted by a rock cap (Hoodoos). The rocks are orange and the scenery is just amazing. Several trails allow you to descend into the canyon (quite easy except for people with reduced mobility) and it takes 2 hours of visit to make the Queen's garden Trail and continue and return via the Navajo Loop Trail. I recommend starting the "great descent" first and going up the difficult month then. Different viewpoints offer exceptional panoramas. Historically, all the trappers who passed by in the 18th century said that the land there was bad and Ebenezer Bryce, who came with his family in 1875, once said that it was a horrible place to lose a cow. It is in honour of Mr. Bryce that the park bears this name. Take a good jacket or fleece with you because you are still at altitude (2370 meters) and the air can be cool. Also plan at least sneakers. Very nice experience and nice walk. Do not hesitate to take your vehicle to discover the different viewpoints such as Sunset Point, Inspiration Point, Bryce Point, etc.

Our favorite

By Silvia C |

Although not one of the most famous parks in the west, Bryce was one of the most beautiful for us. Its main attraction is the hoodoos, surreally shaped rock columns that form natural amphitheaters with magnificent red-orange-yellow tones. The routes to visit it are sometimes challenging for slope and temperatures but leave you breathless to say the least.

Really an amazing park.

By Glen B |

Such an amazing place. Second time to visit so did the Queen's Park hike to the bottom and back up Navajo trail. It's a great hike but remember you have to hike back up.

Hoodoo Heaven

By SHANNA C |

Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah is a breathtaking display of nature's beauty, often called "Hoodoo heaven" for its tall, thin geological spires. Upon arriving in the busy parking lot, I prepared for the hike with my sun hat and camelback, inhaling the invigorating canyon air.

As we approached the railing, I faced a choice: a steep switchback trail into the canyon or a wide path through open terrain. Each route promises stunning views in this magical park, with vibrant reds and oranges glowing in the sunlight against the deep blue sky. The air is crisp, mingled with the scent of pine and nature's wild inhabitants.

Walking along the rim, I enjoyed the soothing sound of gravel underfoot and the gentle wind. Suddenly, thunder rumbled as clouds rolled in—a reminder of nature's unpredictable beauty. With 35,835 acres to explore, Bryce Canyon offers both a physical challenge and an escape from reality, attracting visitors of all ages.

The park's engaging programs for children encourage a connection with nature, providing a break from the digital world. Bryce Canyon is unforgettable, appealing to those seeking adventure, peace, and a profound connection to the natural world.

Bryce artwork unreal!

By Debra J |

Did a full 9 mile plus circle down deep & back up—our lunch near the rock formation London Bridge. Climbing rocky narrow spots—physical effort worth it! We stayed at Bruce Lodge beautiful cabins & service—however food lousy—breakfast cold—dinner not good. The sunset/sunrise at this place make up for that however!

Spectacular Views and Easy Rim Trail

By JoanJh |

This is a spectacular place. We did a rim hike and drove around a bit for the sites we missed. Great views from any spot. The rim hike is less than 5 miles, more or less flat, with great views. There are bathroom facilities on the hike at a few spots. Everything was clean. The rim path is not paved as it is in Grand Canyon. I strong suggest real hiking shoes for the rim walk, maybe even walking poles.

A wonderful place

By CDTrip72 |

Of the five national parks in Utah, this was our favorite. This place doesn’t have timed reservations, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they started as it’s pretty popular. As they have a shuttle bus, they may end up similar to Zion where only shuttle busses are allowed to certain places.

The visitor center is big and recommend watching the video. Getting parking at some places like the Sunset Point can be hard so the sooner you can get there the better (if not taking the shuttle). One ‘trick’ is that you can park at another location like Sunrise Point and then there is a ridge trail that connects them together.

One interesting point is that this park is the 9th smallest National Park, and the main drive is just 18 miles long. Most people will stop at the first few stops after the visitor center, but if you want to avoid big crowds just keep driving as there are some nice overlooks and trails you can take.

Bryce is famous for the hoodoos and if you can handle a moderate hike, do the Navajo Loop trail (note that the Park Avenue portion may be closed, but it was thankfully open when we were there). It takes around an hour and you definitely need to bring a good amount of water and take your time to admire the beautiful views.

There are a couple of attractions before you hit the entrance station. We hit one of them, Mossy Cave, and it’s a few miles away on the highway and it’s an easy hike and has some very nice views.

While you could do this place in a day if you were in a time crunch, I would recommend at least two and if you can get in, stay at the Bryce Lodge. There is a separate grocery store as well worth checking out.

Amazing Views

By Sara T |

The weather was great. Not too hot and breezy. Afternoon showers. We hiked Navajo Loop to Queens Garden. We hiked the rim trail from inspiration point. We took the drive to Rainbow Point and made the stops along the way, where some had short trails. Amazing views wherever we went. Everywhere we went had amazing views!

Amazing

By Christophe B |

Impressive these colors, it changes as the sun rises, we went down into the river bed, and from below, just as impressive

Just mind blowing

By MonaMyLove |

Yes, there are many other tourists, but it still is magical.
The light changes every hour and every day. No matter when you come it is just overwhelmingly beautiful.

Optional, not a must…

By MSDXB |

Looks great but the experience is very one-dimensional…. They have these popular stone sculpters which you can see from multiple viewing points but thats all…
It might be more interesting if you are up for a hike or a bike tour but if you just wanna see it and take some pictures, there are better options… (Zion, etc)
You can book tours which are pretty expensive in addition to 35$ fee just to enter the park area…

April Can Be Dicey!

By Melaney68 |

We had visited in April previously but this time Mother Nature was not on our side. The snow was deep and continued to fall and the majority of the park was closed. However, the hoodoos never disappoint and we were able to hike along the ridge of a few trails for some spectacular photos.

The most incredible Scenery

By ninettejohnson |

Spent 2 days exploring this magnificent park famous for its hoodoos, odd shapes pillars or spires of rock.

There are incredible view points to take wide angled photos. There are trailing hikes that range from easy to moderate to strenuous.
There are animals roaming freely within the ground. Amongst other people we got up very early in the cold to witness the sunrise.
A free shuttle is provided which takes you to several overlooks.
I highly recommend this park for active leisure holidays.

I want to go back in the winter!

By K9Trainers |

This is out of the way and not so easy to get to - I love that. It was a beautiful time for short hikes, sight seeing, and photography at Bryce. The amphitheater never fails to WOW me! It looks different at different times of day, so take your time and don't rush it.

I've been here in summer and it was pretty hot. Spring or fall are much better for hikers. We saw some interesting wildlife and enjoyed ourselves immensely. Bring food and water with you.

Beautiful

By maureen967 |

Personally the Bryce Canyon is prettier than the Grand Canyon but both are must sees if you are in the area. Both places of outstanding beauty.

Go to Red Canyon if you don't like heights and crowds

By Ginger B |

I had high hopes for visiting Bryce in the shoulder season. If that was light crowds, I would hate to see the peak season. The roads are narrow and the pull outs very small. If you have trouble with heights, you might want to skip this for Red Canyon. Most of my day was being jostled and overrun with crowds or struggling with the heights in hopes of seeing the published views. I found it average at best from the crush or crowds, to the dirty bathrooms and lack of parking or pull outs. And they didn't even have the typical NP park map but from newspaper thing. I was very sad that I enjoyed it more trough other's reviews and photos than I did in person.

Beautiful even with frigid weather

By Love2Travel984 |

We watched the temps and conditions at Bryce for several weeks before our trip and luckily packed for the single-digit temperature and bracing wind conditions. The main lookout area (Bryce Point) was filled with deep snow, leaving the top handrail about knee height. Very icy, which made the visit rather scary. HOWEVER, the views were incredible and so worth the scares! The snow made everything very magical and we were glad we braved the weather. The lines into the small parking areas were long and parking spots were very limited; I can only imagine what it must be like when the tourist season gets in full swing.... We are not hikers, so driving into different areas and seeing the scenery was enough for us.

Beautiful Bryce

By isabelackerman |

Bryce is beautiful and unique. It is also fairly big. We did the scenic drive all the way to the south and a mule ride among the hoodoos. It was wonderful

Beautiful.

By Francesco Muzzi |

Park very particular and at the same time beautiful, with many panoramic points; I recommend the horseback ride, very pretty.

Bryce Canyon National Park is Outstanding

By Jesse J |

Bryce Canyon National Park is outstanding. Our particular favorite overlooks were both on the South Scenic Road. First was the Bryce Amphitheater which is awe inspiring. The hoodoo formations and the panoramic vista left us with our mouths agape. Then, further up the road make sure to stop at the Natural Bridge. This spectacular formation is a must see.

The magnificence of the canon

By Custanten |

An unmissable and very well organized experience, with the route by car with several stages that correspond to the observation points, from point to point starting from the Visitor center where you pay the entrance ticket, up to the last stage, at almost 3000 meters above sea level. There is a more than recommendable possibility to walk a path inside the canyon, which is of a unique magnificence and in addition to being observed it must also be "walked". It may be less famous than the Grand Canyon, from which it is profoundly different, but it is certainly no less spectacular.

Must visit Bryce

By Smiles and Miles |

We had a wonderful experience.
Starting with the horse tour of the Canyon - we took the shorter tour.
The only guys operating tours of the Canyon are Canyon Trail Rides - they are the official people.
We hiked from Navajo Trail to Bryce Point, hiked the peek-a-boo loop - exhausting but fulfilling hike.
Saw the hoodoos and other natural phenomena which were breathtaking.

Returned at 3 pm to Inspiration Point to stargaze and was not disappointed.
Millions of stars and a wonderful view of the Milky Way.

Must go!!
Just check the weather before you visit.

Was ok

By dennys34 |

Some very nice views from different spots into the mountain formations - you go back and forth - takes about 1 hour - not a must but quit nice

Stunning!

By S.C. |

Entering the park we did not understand where “the Canyon” was, in fact you arrive in a parking lot in the middle of a flat area, but then... when you then lean out, the charm of what nature can do is incredible! I absolutely recommend to do it, comfortable shoes and clothing and go between the various routes of the Canyon! We went in May and anyway in the distance you could see the snow, it was cold. Bring food and water because although there are refreshment points they are not really close to the access points to the routes.

Beautiful, perhaps one of the most beautiful parks between Zion and Grand Canyon!

Another gem of a national park

By Jack W |

What an amazing park. We spent two days there although we stayed overnight in Tropic. The first day we did the scenic drive and made stops along the way. The second day we did some hikes, including the hike from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point. Definitely recommend going from Sunrise to Sunset as opposed to the other direction; the descent from Sunrise is less arduous than from Sunset. Definitely bring water.

Breathtaking

By Bernard H |

This is the second time we have come, the first 12 years ago, and the magic works as on the first day!
If there was a park that summed up the beauty of the southwest it would often top the poll!
Lots of people obviously, the prices in the region testify to this! And it’s actually better to stay and get supplies at Tropic right next door but cheaper!
The minimum to do will be the rimtrail on foot (easy) with return by bus, but for those who accept a little difference in altitude the descent into the gorge via one of the paths is magical!
We will come back!!!
Enjoy it

a spectacle of nature!

By Anna |

We started the hike at Bryce Point, parking directly there, in case you can park at the Visitor Center and use the shuttle to reach Bryce Point. They provided us with a detailed map, detailed directions on possible trails and made sure we had sunglasses, hat and plenty of water before embarking on the route. All very kind!
Despite the great heat we descended to the bottom of the canyon and walked up to Sunset Point. The path is wide but bumpy. Long but very pleasant because every moment we admired breathtaking scenery. The "spires" of golden earth the hoodoos, create scenarios so perfect that they seem unreal. We have taken hundreds of photographs but none can render the beauty of what we admired!

A stunning place to visit, at least when they open up the road beyond the first two miles.

By Trip'n dude |

My complaint with the NPS (National Park Service) and this park has to do with access to the park in winter. Twice now I have visited in winter and both times the road access into the park ended about 2 miles into the park which normally has about a 17 mile drive with lots of great overlooks and trails. So I got to see the same 4 lookouts as last visit. Beautiful of course, but very limiting. I noticed that the road into the park was plowed and clear far past the point where the NPS had closed the gates to the road. So there was obviously no road danger letting traffic go further into the park. And next day, despite no snow or other weather issues, the road remained closed. This in contrast to Zion National Park where we went next and which was experiencing very bad weather conditions. While they too had closed off some of the roads initially, they were reopened either later in the day or the next day. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Bryce. At $30 an admission, it would be nice to actually see some of this magnificent park, so maybe a bit more plowing is in order.

One of top 5 US NP

By BrakiWorldTraveler |

Visiting Bryce Canyon was on my wish list for decades, but due to its location I couldn't put it in any itinerary during our 8 big US road trips over the last 20 years.
However, it appeared to be a main star of this year's 15 days mid west tour, just after the unique Yellowstone we've visited few days before.
It was a terrific sunny September day when we started our drive from Salt Lake City early in the morning. It took us around 4 hours to reach Bryce.
Before entering the park you drive through the Red Canyon which is a great intro to Bryce, where you get the idea and hint what you're about to see shortly.
Red Canyon is free, while you need to pay Bryce 35$ entry fee per car - however free if you have America the Beautiful pass I strongly recommend.
Once inside the park, FIRST DO DRIVE to the last stop and parking lot at Rainbow point - this is the southernmost part of the park, around half an hour drive from the gates.
This will reward you double:
- First it will be more convenient to pull out or park as ALL parking lots and viewing points are on your right hand driving side when going back from the Rainbow point, while when driving south to Rainbow point you have to give way for north bound traffic which is very intense,
- Second, you'll save the best for last. Best attractions of Bryce are in the northern section, closer to the gates - Inspiration Point, Bryce Amphitheatre, Sunrise and Sunset points,....
In total we spent some 6 hours in the park, from noon to 6 PM which was quite enough to see all viewing points, do some easy hikes and have an unforgettable time.

Surprisingly superb features and experience a top 5 US national park!!

By jimichongaJC |

If you like pleasant hiking, unique and remarkable geological features, breathtaking views and moderate crowds then Bryce Canyon is for you. The park became a top-5 for me of the 2 dozen I've toured. The Rim Rock Trail is absolutely the way to experience it best - a fairly gentle 1.5 mi stroll that takes one past some of the best features of Bryce Canyon - hoodoos, window walls, steep cliffs and natural bridges as well as start and end overlooks of glorious quality.

We loved Bryce Canyon

By holly d |

Bryce Canyon was amazing with all the hoodoo. We are visiting the 5 National Parks and loved seeing the Natural Bridge, Rainbow Point, Inspiration Point, Sunset Point and can't miss Thor's Hammer.

One of the most beautiful places in the world

By eyl |

An absolute gem. We made a hike down into the canyon. And a second hike up along the way. What you see is hard to put into words. Unbelievably beautiful.

Beautiful National Park

By Carrie D. |

Bryce Canyon was another national park with a really great shuttle system, although it does offer more parking that neighboring Zion NP. The shuttle was free and easy to use to move throughout the park. As always, the rangers were super friendly and helpful—there were always a couple on the paved rim trail helping to point out sites of interest and answer questions. It had a great big visitor center. We watched the park film and shopped in the big gift shop.

The Bryce Amphitheater is pretty spectacular at any time, but was particularly gorgeous at sunset during that golden hour. It almost glowed. Despite the heat, one evening I hiked the Navajo Loop Trail and it was breathtaking—both literally and figuratively. This hike is a fairly iconic one, with a lot of switchbacks. It was a pretty strenuous hike with a steep elevation change, but it was worth it for the crazy cool views—it was pretty amazing to see the hoodoos from the bottom up at the base of the canyon, instead of from above at the rim.

Our second day at Bryce Canyon we took the 3-hour horseback ride down into the canyon and back up, which left from the Bryce Stables. The team at the corral were awesome—very supportive and helpful, especially since I’m not by any means an experienced rider and was a little intimidated of riding along the canyon rims. The horses appeared to be very well cared for and impeccably trained. I’ll be honest—the 3-hour ride was a little bit too long and ambitious for us—we probably should have booked the shorter one. But the scenery was beautiful and it was an incredibly unique way to see the canyon!

Amazing!

By DKPuck |

We visited in early March before the shuttles were in operation. Parking at the lookouts was easy. I suspect finding a spot is hard in peak season. The views are breathtaking, making this park an absolute must see!

Beautiful views and great hiking trails

By Ramesh A |

Great place to visit, and we visited this place when it was snowing, which added more beauty to this gem. We started visiting the Antelope Canyon, then Arches, and debating that would it be redundant visits of canyons, but Bryce canyon was unique on its own.
First, we stopped at the visitor center and got the map, and used the restroom. The visitor center was well maintained, and the staff was friendly. Watch out their closing times as we couldn't finish the junior ranger program due to timings on our return.
There were multiple trails within Bryce, and we took off from sunset point and took the Queens garden trail. The canyons when they are capped with snow are a beauty on their own. The trail during snow was slippery but maneagble to complete the trail. We also did a lot of other viewpoints with varying altitudes in the car. Most of the places parking was easy to find, but restrooms are mostly portable or not clean.
This is a must visit canyon !!

Bryce Canyon Hiking Trip

By Ryan B |

I recently visited Bryce Canyon and used Wildland Trekking Company to line up a private guide. The whole experience was nothing short of awesome. Nolan was my guide and he knocked it out of the park. Bryce Canyon is also the most beautiful place I have ever been to on this Earth. I could not be happier with my experience. And I would recommend Nolan and Wildland Trekking Company to anyone who would listen - including family. A wonderful trip.

Southern Utah's Bryce Canyon National Park

By Kristine H |

Bryce Canyon was the most spectacular scenery we have ever seen!!!
Absolutely stunning and breathtaking!Notification you only have one day, one must visit Inspiration Point!!
Note: 8000ish elevation, combined with uphill hike, will leave you breathless!
We stayed at Ruby's Inn RV Park and Campground.
Personally, I loved this place! It was spacious with at least 200 rv spaces. Most are pull-thru's. There are also tent sites and cabins.
Ruby's has a beautiful pool with a large hot tub.
I will definitely return!!!

Bryce Canyon Stunning Sights

By Hendmom |

Bryce Canyon did not disappoint, it is absolutely stunning and I would recommend anyone to visit. Hubby and I are in our mid 60’s, visited Bryce first week in May 2025, the weather was upper 30’s and snowing on arrival, it was gorgeous, temperature stayed in the mid 40’s and was perfect. We were able to park inside at the visitor center each time, we had no trouble getting parking spot at any of the trail sites, we arrived around 9:00-9:30 each morning. We spent 2 days 3 nights and wish we had one more day, the area was crowded but manageable. We purchased the national park pass online prior to our trip, this saved some time. Sunset and Sunrise trails, Thors Hammer, you can’t describe the beauty and colors. We are already planning our next trip, this time driving from Kentucky instead of flying.
We stayed at Ruby’s Inn just outside the park entrance which made it extremely convenient although for over $300/night and really old rooms, I’m not sure the convenience was worth it.

AWESOME

By Marjorie M |

We've been to many national parks and this one is our favorite of all. Breathtaking views, many hiking trails, lots of overlooks accessIible to those who don't want to hike. It's a dark sky park with many night programs available. I recommend using the in park horse back riding service, Guided tours take you down into the canyon. They take care of inexperienced riders and let experienced riders enjoy the view.

Awesome National Park

By Chris L |

This is a beautiful park. We visited in early February and almost empty of people it was great. I would highly recommend going in the low season.

Beautiful Hoodoos

By Cyndi E |

We are visiting all the National Parks and thought this one is one of the best. The hoodoos are amazing. You can take shuttle though the amphitheater area only but we drove the Southern scenic drive (18 miles) all the way up to Rainbow point then down because the viewpoints are on the right that way we didn’t have to cross traffic. My favorite was the Natural Bridge and my husband loved the Amphitheater area with Bryce Point and Inspiration Point which have best views of the Hoodoos

Great fall visit to terrific park

By 307leven |

Visited in November 2022, but I only had about 2 1/2 hours to spare. After paying the $35 entrance fee, I told the park ranger I had limited time because I was on my way to Springdale and she suggested driving the 28 miles to the top at Rainbow Point and turning back and visiting the scenic pullovers on the way down, which I did. At Rainbow Point, the altitude was over 9100 feet, so I got a headache as I got out to view the stunning scenery. As I drove back, I repeatedly pulled over to the scenic overlooks and admired them as I took many photos. However, there were several inches of snow on the ground and it was compacted and frozen on the walkways so you had to be careful with your footing. In fact, I witnessed one woman fall on her back, fortunately, she was not hurt. Due to the nature of the icy and snowy conditions, I would recommend good hiking boots with good traction.

After about an hour and a half or so, I finished viewing almost all of the scenic overlooks and went to the ranger station where they had a mini museum on the park that had exhibits on it's wildlife, plants, etc and and a short film on the park. After spending the remaining time there and at the gift shop, I spoke to a ranger who suggested drinking plenty of water due to the dryer air and altitude changes before leaving.

It wasn't too crowded even thought it was a Saturday afternoon, and there was plenty of available parking at the scenic overlooks, ranger station and pullover sections, but I was advised by one of the rangers that during warmer months it gets much more crowded, especially during the summer. If you go and plan to hike and spend more time viewing scenery and the museum at the ranger station, I would recommend at least 4 hours or more because the views at the scenic overlooks and pullovers is absolutely stunning. Also, be prepared for the higher altitude and consider drinking plenty of water during your visit as that could help.

Beautiful place

By larobin74 |

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit here and the beautiful scenery. We hiked some trails and enjoyed the scenic drive and the lookout points.

Wonderful park

By TNuccio-Youngs |

Incredible views at this park, the hoodoos are a sight to see! The trails are well marked. Going down the Queen’s trail is worth it, there are plenty of places to catch your breath on the way up. I was worried about the altitude coming from the East coast but I did fine.

Stunning!

By Melanie H |

This National Park was stunning! Being from Florida, we’ve never seen anything quite like this. The hoodoos are beautiful! During the winter season- we consider March Spring-the town is closed for the most part but the park is open and the trails are breathtaking! We even had an unexpected brief snow storm!

Easy hikes for beginners

By Ikmal Hisham A |

Great place for beginner hikes as there are many short trails to see arches and cool rock formations. Personally, I prefer this than Grand Canyon.

Amazing Views and nice visitors centre

By Sharon K |

Amazing views and good visitor centre with café and toilets etc. Highly recommended. The turkey sandwich and fresh lemonade hit the spot on the hot day on which we visited

Beautiful rock formations

By TripPhotographer52 |

My wife and I toured the southern Utah parks. We took a four hour tour which was well worth the price. It is better to visit in the spring or fall- very hot in the summer. I used my life time senior national park pass which I had purchased many years ago. The tour guide pointed out the formations which had been given names over the years- such as Thor's hammer. Just amazing natural rock formations.

A wonder not to be missed

By Corinne M Chanel |

Named by the Indians "the rocks that look like men", this place offers magical landscapes of pinnacles and majestic towers sculpted by the natural forces of erosion. The area of BRYCE CANYON National Park is 146 km2. It became National Park in 1928. It is a masterpiece of natural architecture, a large circus augmented in its western part by 14 amphitheatres, populated by pink, orange, purple and white colonnades and rock bleachers. The whole plateau surrounding the canyon is covered with forests. The shapes of some rock complexes have been named: Cathedral, Alligator, the sinking Boat. It is a magical landscape simply available to you, a wonder of the world for me I loved. Be careful the ballad downstairs is somewhat slippery and not very stable.

nice experiance

By gwviper |

Quick trip through Bryce on the way to Zion. You can do Bryce in a half day unless you want to hike. The view points were spectacular. I advise to drive all the way through and then hit all the views on the way back. I would not want to go in the busy months so do shoulder seasons.

Bryce Navajo Loop Trail

By RestlessWanderer211 |

My first visit to Bryce and it did not disappoint! We started at the Visitor Center, where we were given direction on which hikes would be appropriate for our mixed group of parents, teens, and preteens. Having just recovered from double foot surgery, I must say of the steep and narrow descent into the canyon that accompanied the beginning of the Navajo Loop Trail. But it was so worth it! Though packed with tourists, this trail included Wall Street and Thor's hammer and so many other beautiful sights to marvel at.
A few in my group stayed late for the Park's stargazing program, while most of us drove back to our rental. Unfortunately, due to smoke from a nearby wildfire, they did not see as much as they had hoped to see. I only wish that we had more time to spend here and would love to come back some day!

Absolutely Amazing.

By Conny B |

This national park was absolutely amazing even just to drive through. The scenery was incredible. We did the hike at the top and even in May there was still snow so it was a little difficult to follow the trail but it only made it more adventurous.

Beautiful canyon with gorgeous views o fhe hoodoos

By Gayle B |

Beautiful canyon with gorgeous views - several overlooks. We watched the short video at the visitor's center, and I was glad that we did so we could really appreciate the hoodoos.

We limited ourselves a bit due to snow on the paths but LOVED the views we could reach.

There is a really cute little town with a few shops and restaurants just outside the park.

Gorgeous Park

By jjhumphrey02 |

My husband and I went to Bryce in June and it was such a beautiful experience. We took the scenic byway to the park and it was so pretty. We stopped at one point to take pictures and we were shocked that it 50 degrees (high elevation) and looked a little like Montana with all of the Pine trees. It was 75 and sunny that day in Bryce so it was perfect. We decided to do a trail, don’t remember the name but we ended up on the horse trail because we wanted to going down into the canyon. At some point, I was worried what we got ourselves in to. Definitely a good workout. Those switchbacks are no joke. Bryce is beautiful beyond words. I actually got emotional when we first got to a scenic overlook. No words. Stopped at the lodge for a beer and it was perfect. We took a scenic Highway back to St. George and drove through Zion🤯 Wow.

Bryce Canyon and Horseshoe Bend simply stunning

By Denny C |

After leaving Zion immensely impressed, we headed to Bryce Canyon. And again we were not disappointed by the southwest.

We checked into our super fun DOME, about 20 mins outside of the park entrance. Family four fit nicely in the spacious accommodation. Our daughters had the loft and we had the room downstairs. Highly recommend it for a memorable stay.

We then spent two days in Bryce Canyon which was just right. It had its own personality compared to Zion and it was outrageous! Stunning views from the rim and some great hiking trails.

On our way out, we stopped in Horseshoe Bend Arizona…. Well worth the stop!!!

We will be going back!

Amazing place full of surprise and wonder.

By Tom B |

The park is amazing with fantastic views and trails. The weather can be wild with storms and hail one day and bright and sunny. Parking can be a challenge but options are there. Will be back

Beautiful Park

By Robert B |

This National Park is beautiful beyond description. We took the shuttle bus around the park and highly recommended using it. Many parking lots at the trail heads were crowded. We took the hike down into the canyon and enjoyed it so much. Fairly strenuous but doable for a 66 year old. Take water and take frequent breaks. The air is thin because of the altitude.

Unforgettable

By Jack C |

Unforgettable place with breathtaking views, it feels like reliving the life of a cowboy by seeing the landscape. Bring a good camera and you will have photos to frame, be careful not to lean too far into beautiful crevasses, otherwise a unique experience

Wow!

By Lynette1212 |

Absolutely breathtaking! The beauty of this park is just amazing. Easy access, 35.00 per vehicle for 7 day access. Lots of parking and plenty of hiking trails to choose from.

SPECTACULAR

By LillieUSA |

I can’t say enough about the beauty of this National Park. The first afternoon we just stopped at a couple overlooks - Sunrise, Inspiration Point, Paria. The next morning we did Wall Street and Navajo Loop/Queen’s Garden. Absolutely amazing. In the afternoon we visited Mossy Creek waterfall- beautiful.

Not so overwhelming as many parks, wonderful shuttle system

By SeniorTravelerTF |

There are unique sights from the rim that require little walking, and up close views from hikes among the formations that require a lot of walking. A great shuttle system, in season, is a huge plus. The "commercial city" just outside the gate can supply any need, including food, entertainment, supplies, etc. if you aren't able to stay in the part - but then you'll miss part of the experience.

Lovely park

By Florence L |

We didn't slept in the park but I guess if you can it's much better.
We came at sunrise and sunset, the view is marvellous.
If you can you could walk the Navajo Trail, it's 1.3 miles not too difficult. You can have a nice view at Thor hammer and walk through the forest. If you do it around 7am it's not too hot and you can better enjoy the walk.

Nature never ceases to amaze.

By Walther von der Vogelweide |

Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah, famous for its spire-shaped rock formations called "hoodoos," is a natural spectacle created by nature over millennia. To visit and admire.

Such unique formations

By kisssmee |

I am so happy I got a chance to go here!! The formation of the hoodoo rocks are so unique to Bryce.

I had time for a short hike before heading to Zion in the evening. I did the Navajo Loop trail and it was an okay trail for the most part. What made it difficult was one the way down the switchbacks it was icy so you have to be absolutely careful and wear the proper footwear.

I am so fortunate enough to have experience the snow on the rocks.

Wow

By Woodcliffmom |

When you first see it, it’s a WOW feeling. No picture can do it justice! Tears almost came to my eyes when I saw it from the Amphitheater.
The hike down is great fun also but once you go down, you must also hike up! 😂. Mostly loops. We did Wall Street ( or Two Bridge) hike down via Navajo trail loop and continue to Queens Garden trail loop.

Busy place, breathtaking scenery, go super early or later in day

By rlmptl |

loved this place and we went later in the day by 6 pm so we were able to park and catch the shuttles easy between the sites. so much to see here we loved the shuttles they came regularly so you were never sitting for long waiting and not crowded at end of day. I think this would have been like Zion park had we not been able to come later it just worked out for us otherwise you may have to go either really early or later in day or wait all day to do this if its busy. i never expected in mid October for places to be so busy all over but they are. maybe come first week in November. there is a good gift shop here too

mindblowing

By HugeNitedStates |

I don't need to repeat the other reviews.
AWESOME place with mind blowing views and walks for everyone

extraordinary views

By Lorna B. |

We live in southeastern PA and recently spent 10 days exploring Utah (with Herriman as our home base); of course we had to visit a national park and chose Bryce Canyon for this trip. We made a weekend of it and visited Red Canyon, Bryce Wildlife Museum, and Kodachrome Basin State Park (see separate reviews) on Saturday and then Bryce Canyon on Sunday.

We found it easy to visit this national park. There was plentiful free parking at the Visitor Center, where we viewed a 22-minute-long orientation video (it runs continuously). After browsing the nice gift shop and the good exhibits there, we set out to drive the scenic drive to Sunset Point. We decided to go all the way down and then stop at the various viewpoints on our drive back, allowing us to make all right turns in case the traffic was heavy (it was not). (We stopped at a roadside picnic table about halfway down for a picnic lunch, but the aggressive bees drove us back to our car.)

We did no hiking during our visit but stopped at every viewpoint for photos and a good look around. The scenery is amazing, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here (about five hours in all).

Beautiful, but lots of it closed

By TravelingBill |

Because they have not plowed the roads, most of Bryce is closed. Those parts they have plowed are spectacular with the snow on the rocks.

Great Park

By SnorkelRagazza |

We spent a day touring Bryce Canyon while staying at a hotel just outside the park. That was very convenient as it only took us about 10 minutes to get from our hotel parking lot into the park. There was no wait when we went in September. We saw all of the major sites on the main road. We were in the park for the entire day and saw everything that we wanted to. The views are stunning and there are several easily accessible trails we are some of the sites. My favorite part, though, was going back into the park at night. We went at 10 o’clock one night and then about 9 o’clock the next night. They were very clear nights with no moon and the stars were stunning. We were actually able to capture the Milky Way using just our cell phones. We went into the park and just pulled off the road onto a side road for about an hour each night to take our pictures. Bryce Canyon has been designated an international dark sky because of the high elevation, lack of light pollution and air pollution. It was the highlight of our trip.

Hike the Canyon - May 2023

By Kitman |

So I've wanted to check out this National Park for awhile now. Finally in the area, I extended my stay specifically so I can visit the park. Upon entering, there's a nice visitor center...and quite busy. The staff were really friendly and helpful in answering questions that visitors had. You can grab a park map here also, if you didn't get one from park ranger at the entrance.

I started at Inspiration Point. I hiked along the rim then down into the canyon by Bryce Point. From there, I joined up on the Peekaboo Loop trail going clockwise. There are some real nice views along the top and these two canyon trails. To get back up, I took the Navajo Loop trail. But be careful. I ran into two other hikers that were accidentally going around and around on the Peekaboo Loop cause they kept missing the signs directing them to the other trails. Then I met another group that were not on the trail they thought they were on. Had they continued, they'd gone deeper into the canyon while they were actually trying to get out. I pointed them in the right direction...following me. Once on top, it was a pretty flat and easy walk back to Inspiration Point.

Sorry, but I can't recall how long this took. I believe it was somewhere between 2 & 3 hours. I'm a regular runner and cyclist. I only stopped to take pictures and kept up the pace. So I feel I'm in good shape for a hike like this. I saw numerous people that were in pretty bad shape and breathing hard...and most still needed to climb out. Know your limits. It was a cool spring day on my hike. There were even spots of snow on the trail (muddy and slippery). On a hot day, you could quickly find yourself in trouble.

I also drove to a couple other lookout points, but some rainy weather was quickly moving in so I just made brief stops. I believe there are a few campgrounds in the park. Outside the entrance there are some hotels if that's how you like to camp.

This is a beautiful park and I'd like to return someday I do a little more hiking.

Amazing views of natural beauty

By Highexpects |

Amazing natural beauty, easy access and walk, beautiful place, well worth it. The colours are stunning.

My favorite of the Mighty 5

By jimles7 |

This was my favorite of the Mighty 5.
The Navajo loop trail was my favorite trail and is 1.4 mi long that is a moderate hike. Sunset point is the best starting point. The scenic drive is 18 mi long 1 way with 15 stops about.

Breathtaking!

By Lauren Miertschin |

Breathtaking!! Have never been to Bryce Canyon, though we have vacationed in Utah many times. So happy to have finally visited. Thunder Mountain is out of this world, much scarier than the Disneyland ride.

Magestic place

By susan |

A most spectacular place. Hike the rim trail x from every few steps, the view is different.
But do not only visit the “Theatre” - take the drive to the edge of the park (18 mile from the entrance) and make your way back through a series of viewpoint that are so unique.
On your way in - do not forget to stop at the Red Canyon. 😉

Spectacular Bryce Canyon

By phvi2617 |

Bryce Canyon is an absolutely breathtaking and unique national park. In late fall, bright white snow contrasts gorgeously with the orange rock and green pines in the natural amphitheater. There are several great viewpoints along the main road, but it is best to hike into the canyon if you're able.

I hiked the Two Bridges/Queen's Garden Loop along with the Peekaboo Loop. Both trails were fantastic and offered opportunities to see the stunning hoodoos up close. In late November it was very chilly during the day, and there was a good amount of snow, so be prepared with traction devices and layers if you're going to hike.

The visitor center, restaurants, and general store are either closed or have limited hours during the winter season, so be sure to plan accordingly. There is lodging, gas, etc. just north of the park entrance in Bryce Canyon City.

Altogether, a wonderful and enchanting place--my only regret was not staying another day!

Bryce Canyon is otherworldly and wonderful!

By NuminousT |

Bryce Canyon is one of those magical places that you don't believe is real until you hike through it. It really is spectacular hiking through it's otherworldly hoodoos and watching the landscape change as the sunlight hits the rock formations at different times of the day was a memory that I will nevver forget!

Incredible!!!

By Heidi R |

Our first time here and this park did not disappoint. This park is incredible. We drove the main road through and made several stops along the way. Each stop had some amazing sights to see. Some included short hikes. The Bryce Amphitheatre was such an incredible sight to see, don't miss this short hike to it. Loved this park!! The pictures don't do this park justice.

Peekaboo trail!

By GatashMA |

Peekaboo trail is a must. It's 3 miles of well marked trail. Be prepared for moderate elevation, some of it steep. The views are indescribable. The natural beauty made me emotional. When we hiked the trail from about 10:30 am - 12:30 pm, foot traffic was quiet, whereas other trails were packed. Lots of smelly horse poop on the trail because it's used by horses and mules. Overall, Bryce does a great job providing guests transport throughout the park. Parking areas get filled quickly so consider the free shuttle. We arrived by 8 am and left by 1. It was getting really packed in the afternoon.

Visual feast for the senses

By FiKniveton |

Every viewing point a magnificent vista of intense blue sky, incredible natural features and so well planned you can enjoy it all. If you are thinking of visiting, do it. Easy to get around and fantastic value, an annual pass for the Nat Parks costs $80.

Otherworldly looking place

By CoasterNerdett |

We drove up to Bryce from Kanab, wow, what a gorgeous landscape.
We had done the narrows the day before and our feet were still a little sore, parked up and went to the visitor center- they had a ranger approved day plan and we followed it- shuttles were great, really helpful and loved it.
Stupidly hadn't brought full water bottles and it was hoootttt, love the water filling stations, really helped us out.
Got to listen to a great talk from a ranger set up at a view point.
Go, you won't be disappointed.

Beautiful, we hope to visit sometime when there isn't a record snow season!

By LuvMex828 |

There is still a lot of snow in the park. We decided not to try hiking because we didn't want to be sinking into wet snow or sliding on slush. The scenic drive was open as far as Farview. Temperatures were in the 60's and we prepared by wearing layers that we could adjust as our location and time of day changed. Watch for prairie dogs and go out at night to see the stars.

Breathtaking...

By Alibalio |

Wow - hoodoos are great. You can see so much in them with your imagination!
Easy to get around by car are you can opt to hike some trails. Breathtaking scenery. Don't forget to buy your America the Beautiful pass if you're doing more than one National park. Well worth it!

Bryce Canyon National Park

By jniseda |

Bryce Canyon National Park is one of five National Parks in Southern Utah. Located near Kanab, Utah. A drive along the rim of the canyon provides numerous views of the formations in the canyon.

Breathtaking beauty from dusk till down.

By J S |

This was one of the absolute highlights of our US roadtrip.
It is a busy park with easily accessible trails. You can go along with a ranger or by yourself. The longer trails are evidently less crowded. We combined queen’s garden with navajo an peak-a-boo trails which provide a real tour of the canyon with absolutely stunning views and colours.
Fantastic to take pictures with the exquisite backdrop of Bryce’s landscape.
The hike is not difficult but bring good shoes or boots and carry enough water to stay well hydrated. There’s lot’s of places where you cannot hide from the sun. There’s plenty of wildlife to be seen.
Watching sunrise at sunset point (not sunrise point…) is much less crowded and arguably even better.

Breathe!

By Fabien M |

Amazing views at 9,000 feet above sea level on Rainbow Point. The colours of the rock and the pristine immensity of the site will give you plenty of sight.

Wow!!!

By Patrick M |

Went to Bryce Canyon National Park. This is a fantastic place. The scenery is wonderful ul. We hiked the Queens trails down to the bottom. It's one of the medium difficult hikes I think only because of the hike back up. The path itself is very clear and easy to walk but it is a long way down and what goes down must come up.

In addition, we drove the 18-mile scenic drive and stopped at all the overlooks and trail heads. Again, wonderful scenery throughout.

I highly recommend this park to everyone.

One of the Best

By wirttravelers |

We visited 9 parks on our recent trip and this was one of our favorite. The views are breathtaking and the hiking is incredible. We even enjoyed the picnic area (at 30 degrees fahrenheit).

Amazing Views

By Hailey |

On Halloween 2025 I hiked here in Bryce Canyon with my friend and had so much fun!

I have been here 5 times now and I will probably come back again. The views are amazing and the hikes are fun.

When you enter the park, there’s a booth where you can pay for parking and then when you park, there are some public restrooms and then some trailheads. If you do not want to hike there are plenty of places to just look at the views and see the hoodoos.

A must-see site!

By Sandrine B |

Bryce canyon is really a site to explore: very good organization of the Shuttles which pass every 10/15 minutes to serve the entire park, very pleasant and available staff, well-marked and really nice hiking trails, in short we recommend 400 %!!

Fascinating water-carved geology

By Ruthsmum |

We were touring the area and reached Bryce Canyon at about sunset. It is a very strange landscape, the interplay of the climate, the effects of water, and the geology. I found it more exciting than the Grand Canyon - possibly because the GC is so well known that I knew what to expect (I was still impressed). I recommend it strongly. Also, if you live in a safety-conscious country, take your local health and safety person here and watch them . . .

Unique and Majestic "Helluva Place to Lose a Cow"

By Extremely normal person |

We are a family of 5 (me, my wife, 14, 11, and 7 yo) of National Park Enthusiasts. We visited Bryce Canyon as part of our spring break adventure. Bryce Canyon, even after many Western desert national parks, is a unique experience. As the literature clearly explains, it is not a canyon at all; this is important because the experience is really distinct from Zion, Canyonlands, Big Bend, Grand Canyon, etc.

Not only are the row upon row upon row of weird spires, hoodoos, and other bizarre rock formations, but the colors are unusually vivid. The reds, oranges, and yellows are bright and stunning. Walking along the rim provides stunning views, but it was also very rewarding to walk into the main amphitheater among all of the formations and look back up. As with so many of these desertscapes, changes in light, immediate perspective, and vantage point painted so many different pictures that it was hard to process it all.

In March, the park was not crowded, but it was far from empty. It took one full orbit through the Sunset Point parking lot to find a spot, and there was a lot of company on the trails. There was a fair amount of snow on the ground, and most of the trails were either ice, muddy, or both. We rented crampons from Ruby's in Bryce Canyon City ($10/pair/day), and it was totally worth it. There were a lot of steep trails within the amphitheater, and they were mostly icy. A lot of people were falling.

Inspiration Point can be driven to directly, or hiked to easily from Sunset Point (icy, but shallow grade). Upper Inspiration Point commands a much more striking and panoptic view than Inspiration Point itself, so it is very much worth the extra, slightly steeper hike.

This park is magnificent and worth a visit. It is on the smaller side-- one or two days seems about right for a family. I wouldn't have wanted it any busier than it was in mid-March, but be prepared for snow and ice during these winter months. Also, the elevation is quite high, so sunscreen is a good idea, even if it's not completely sunny. Note that the lodge isn't open at this time of year, so you'll have to stay outside the park (we got a very nice Vrbo).

What views!

By HeleneA636 |

Wow, Bryce Canyon Nationalpark vilken upplevelse! That nature can create such amazing works of art. There are several places where you can stop and enjoy the view and hiking trails are also plentiful.

Nature at its marvel

By Anantha |

The formations over the years is spectacular. It’s a small park conspired to Arches or Zion but packed with beautiful vistas at each turn. Thors hammer is a fun element… the shuttle option from hotels and various other points is a good add-on..

The Hoodoos are Out of this World

By Diane N |

Spent two days hiking at Bryce. The first day we hiked the Fairyland Trail. The second day the Queen's Garden (Sunset point to Sunrise Point) and visited the two vista points at Inspiration Point.

Even if you don't hike into the canyon, there are several locations along the rim trail to view the hoodoos.

Worth every moment experienced.

Over the past ten years, my wife and I have been visiting different locales in the Southwest. Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Missions and much, much more. We never cease to be amazed at what we encounter throughout the Southwest. Bryce Canyon National Park/Monument also stands out in fascinating wonder and in so, so many ways! This humongous National Park dates to its 1924 inception, preserving Nature’s millions upon millions of years and covers an extraordinary almost 36,000 acres of magnificent and hard to properly describe its geology, topography and geography. With its magnificent color variations, formations, depths and heights, along with its unique wildlife. A good amount of stamina and decent health are required for physical activity out here. It is well worth a visit to create memories you’ll never forget. When the physical and visual experience hits you, the unusual and seemingly orchestrated stone forms are an unbelievable landscape of labyrinths, tangles, colors, shades and beauty that is verbally enigmatic. Worth every moment experienced.

Breathtaking views at Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon offers several trekking trails, all scenic and one more beautiful than the other. We start by leaving the car at the Visitor Center and reaching Sunset Point, Sunrise Point, Inspiration Point, Rainbow Point etc. The paths are comfortable, all flat and well maintained where there is no shortage of beautiful encounters with squirrels!

SO worth a visit!;

This is clearly one of the most spectacular places I have visited so far. The mighty mountains, the colors! We’re here in January so it’s really cold (-15) but, it also makes you get the place a little more to yourself. Highly recommended!

BREATHTAKING

I can only say one thing: breathtaking.
I took a road trip and saw several natural parks and this is without a doubt the best. I've never seen anything like it.
You absolutely must come!! I would rather skip Monument Valley…

Truly spectacular place

Bryce Canyon is so unique amongst the National parks. There are numerous places to stop and take photographs. You can hike as well. If you do please plan accordingly as you are at high elevation and will need proper sun protection and footwear, plenty of water and hiking sticks would be helpful. There is no reservation to enter this park as there is in some other National parks.

Spectacular Sites even if you have only a short time

By DiverM |

We were able to visit the park for about an hour and saw some spectacular sights. We had spent most of our trip in the Grand Canyon and only had a short time for Bryce which did not disappoint. We ate at the Subway restaurant just outside the park which worked out well. We had our own car and stopped at several of the sites which were spectacular. We went as far as the land bridge and then came back and left the park. We had a small window of visibility of about an hour during a rainy day but it all worked out.

Visit to Bryce Canyon

Absolutely loved this canyon. Very different to the Grand Canyon but stunning in a different way. Lots of walks can be done from there but generally not too difficult

nowhere else like it in the world!

we loved bryce! the hoodoos are special. the hikes were challenging, but well worth it. we started in the morning with winter coats on, traveled the navajo loop trail through queen's garden. so beautiful. then on the hike back up, we were shedding our jackets, working up a sweat. but i think the best time of year to go. lots of people, but the trails were not over crowded

Crowded but Worth It

Bryce Canyon was part of our trip visiting all five national parks in southern Utah. The park is busy, and it was difficult to find parking at many of the scenic areas. The lots would be full, so we'd drive further and catch the ones we missed on the way back. There is a shuttle system, but they only travelled as far as Bryce Point. We drove to Rainbow Point and found plenty of scenic spots along the way. The variety of hoodoos and geology is interesting. The four most popular viewpoints (Sunrise and Sunset Points, Inspiration Point, and Bryce Point) are all within three miles of the Visitors' Center.

An amphitheater carved by the gods; An amphitheater carved by the gods

Bryce's famous hoodoos are a unique wonder. It seems to look at a cathedral made of rock and light. The Navajo Loop trail plunged us into this natural spectacle. I recommend getting up early to see the sunrise here: pure emotion.

Bryce’s famous hoodoos are like nothing else. It’s like staring at a cathedral made of rock and light. The Navajo Loop trail lets you walk right through this natural wonder. Tip: wake up early to catch the sunrise — it’s pure emotion.

Very Pretty and Very Busy

We came here about a week after a snow storm, so only the first eleven miles of the park were open. Most of the hikes were also closed due to the snow. Because of that, we were only able to stop at the viewpoints. Even under those circumstances, the park was still very crowded. The amphitheater was very cool to see, but you really didn’t need much time to take it all in. It seems like the whole park just that one view, but we also didn’t see the whole park. Out of all the national parks in Utah, this was probably my least favorite. I still did like the park, though.

Scenery abounds

The Queens/Navaho Loop combination is a favorite for good reasons--a reasonable length hike and amazing, varied scenery. I also took the 3 hour horseback ride which was incredible even though we encountered rain and hail.

RV Tourists not welcome!

By Ralf M |

If you travel with RV and family: they do not like RVs anymore. The way Rangers have been talking to us was so unpleasant (I felt like a kid in primary school) that you will find better places to go. If you travel as coupe and in car: have fun! You do not have to carry small kids in overcrowed Busses around. Enjoy the visit you are not going to do once you have kids!

The Best of the West

Our No. 1 National Park in the western United States. The bright red hoodoo are just great. From above, the amphitheatre called the Rock Sea can be visited wonderfully from various vantage points. But you should also take the opportunity to take the perspective from below on one of the trails. We combined the Navarro and Queen's trails and hiked from Sunset Point to Sunrise Point in about 2.5 hours. We couldn’t get out of the wonder and photography!

Gorgeous Views

Bryce Canyon is one place I wanted to check out since I have seen pictures of my dad there. The place is really breathtaking and the hoodoos or sandstone structures are all so unique. There are a number of different hikes you can take depending on your time and fitness level. Thor's Hammer is a very cool structure to see that is off Sunset Blvd. It can get pretty hot and sunny during the summer so bring water.

One day is enough in my opinion unless doing one of the trail hikes

By yasemin2k |

Coming from Grand Canyon and Zion National Parks, this was the one we really didn’t need to spend more than one day, unless you are going to do a trail hike. Even driving thru and doing the scenic drive, stop at scenic points, you will see pretty much the amazing Bryce Canyon. Sorry we didn’t do the Navajo/ Queen trail hike in the cool morning weather. Don’t forget to walk up to Sunrise point after midnight or before 5:00 am to see the milky way in the sky, amazing

Best Park in Utah!

By Connie E |

We went on a trip of the Big Five and much more. I can honestly say this was our favorite park . Every stop was more beautiful than the next. We were able to drive and see so much. We didn’t hike very much but felt like we saw so much. We probably drove into and through the park three times while there. I have so many fantastic pictures! The area you drive through before entering the park is touristy but we enjoyed walking through Ruby’s Inn. Ruby’s Inn is a park within itself. It even has a grocery store.

Beautiful and Incredible but the Snow Will Limit You

By Grover R |

I will first admit that we may not have picked the right time to visit Bryce in mid-March. However, we did not have the snow problems at any of the other Utah 5 that we had here. With that said, the amphitheater was amazing and sunrise was incredible. We simply did not get to hike as much as we had hoped.

We pulled in late on a Monday afternoon after visiting Capitol Reef. Still we had enough time to see the sunset over the amphitheater from Sunset Point. We then went to Bryce Point to see the last rays of the day. Incredible sights and pictures at both.

We stayed at the Best Western Plus which was great. So those who wanted to, got up the next morning for Sunrise from Sunrise Point. It was as beautiful as every had said. The colors were simply incredible and like sunset, the snow did add to the experience. After that we stopped by the VC for a few BCNP items, and we left for Zion.

I simply would have loved to have hiked into the amphitheater but the snow did not allow us that opportunity. That means I will simply have to come back.

A Breathtaking, Otherworldly Experience for the Whole Family

By Naza |

Bryce Canyon National Park absolutely blew us away. As a family that’s been lucky enough to explore some truly beautiful places, Bryce still managed to leave us speechless. From the moment we arrived, it felt like we had stepped into another world.

The views are unlike anything we’ve ever seen—towering red rock hoodoos that look like they belong on another planet, endless trails that weave through vibrant orange canyons, and scenic overlooks that truly take your breath away. It’s one thing to see photos of Bryce, but standing there in person? Nothing compares.

We hiked several trails during our visit, and each one had its own magic. Some were more kid-friendly with shorter routes and lots of shady spots, while others gave us a bit more of a challenge—and were totally worth the effort. The kids loved spotting all the natural formations, and we all kept saying how unreal everything looked. Even the drive through the park offered nonstop jaw-dropping views.

Bryce has this peaceful, majestic energy to it. Whether you’re hiking down into the canyon or just enjoying the viewpoints along the rim, there’s this sense of awe that stays with you the entire time.

This was hands-down one of our favorite stops ever. If you’re considering it—go. It’s family-friendly, jaw-droppingly beautiful, and an unforgettable adventure for all ages. We’re already dreaming of going back.

Such beauty

By Jus |

We took our family with young kids 2 hours out of the way to see Bryce, and it was so worth it. We only had time for the scenic drive and stops at Rainbow point, Natural Bridge, Bryce point and Inspiration point, but so glad we stopped. Bryce Point was overwhelmingly the favorite. Everything was very cold and snow covered on April 1st, some trails were roped off, but we'd love to return sometime in warmer weather to explore the park deeper.

Unique, wonderful

By Matteo C |

It's impossible not to give the highest score to this wonderful park. I saw that someone had the courage to give the minimum vote, but we know that, unfortunately, the world is full of not very intelligent people...
Bryce is beautiful in every way, a spectacular place from start to finish. The only flaw may be that there are a lot of people and that the paths are often crowded, and this is a big flaw for those who, like me, love peace and tranquility. But I find it truly impossible not to give full marks...
I recommend going there on weekdays or, in any case, outside the seasons with the maximum influx of tourists. And then I recommend taking the path (loop), at least the shorter one: it's really worth it. To get a slight idea of the natural wonders that the park offers, see the photos I attach.
