My wife and I thought to give the touted “motor speedway Christmas” event a try. The light displays were certainly fun, though the accompanying soundtrack could have done with a little more variety. Overall the visit was fun and well worth the ticket cost (by all means get the fast pass ticket unless you want to spend an hour or two sitting in a line to get in). The Christmas village and associated petting zoo were a pleasant surprise towards the end of the circuit of light displays. If you’re looking for a nice way to spend an evening around Charlotte during the holidays this is a good bet.

Charlotte,,sweet city, lots to see and enjoy!
Love it!
Uptown area, Speedway awesome!
Must add to your bucket list!

I did the Fast Pass Tour on a Wednesday which had 3 time slots. I personally recommend the early of the tours. Less crowd and early bird gets the worm. This tour allows you to drive your own vehicle on the track, which is absolutely thrilling if you have anything close to a stock car. However the track has not been paved in 30 years which is awesome and historically significant but if you do the tour like Dale Earnhardt be prepared to buy some new tires with that Sunday Money. Gotta love it!!! The Cabarrus County visitor center even hooked me up with a discount code for the tour to save me money for the new tires. I had an absolute ball with this tour and would highly recommend to any race fan

We came down from Ohio for a long weekend visit to go to the Nascar Hall of Fame. We decided to do a speedway tour last minute before leaving to come home. It ended up being one of the highlights of our visit!! The driver of our van skidded onto the track and had our van going faster than I thought possible for a 12+ passenger van! He then had us up on the embankment, inches from the wall crawling at a speed that would make you think you were going to roll down the embankment, only to step on the gas again. At no point did we ever feel unsafe but our whole group was laughing and having a great time!!! I so wish I could remember his name because he was awesome and gave us a lot of information about the speedway, the dirk track and other events. My ONLY complaint is that it was nearly long enough. The hour went by way too quickly.

The tour takes about an hour. Less than $15 per. Tour consists of a visit to a drag strip (with a run up the quarter mile), the dirt track, the new road course, and of course, the speedway track (2 laps around at about 75 mph in a van). The 24 degree banking is a hoot. Lots of history and flavor from the tour guide. Takes about an hour.

I took the one hour tour recently. The tour itself is very nice however it is closer to 45 minutes than an hour. In retrospect I wish I had taken the two hour tour.

We had a blast. We loved all the tracks and how it is all setup. This is my third visit and I will be visiting again.

I have never
been much into car racing but this is a really great tour. Very informative, and fun to ride on the racetrack. Now I’m more curious about the racing world.

Awesome place to work for cup team and watch a Nascar race. Great camping food and the whole Charlotte security and employees are awesome

We did the Feel the Thrill Speedway Tour and it was PERFECT! we got to see the drag strip, dirt track, 1/5 mile, and the BIG track. Its an affordable way to get a close up look at this wonderful and historic track.

Great family friendly day adventure for all. Old and new alike it is all here
Food vendors and outdoor flea market with car parts to bike parts.
Wear some comfortable because of lots of walking. Sunglasses and hats are good.
Wagons or scotters are allowed.

We loaded up in a 12 passenger bus. Went around the different areas. The driver was this old man in his 70s. I would say took us around that track like we were racing. He was getting it. You will really love the tour. We paid 10 because we were seniors and 12 for our daughter. It’s a good inexpensive tour.

Good track, security tries a little too hard. Parking lots are very confusing, and traffic directors are poor at best.

My husband and I came to the Christmas lights on our “couple get away!” What a beautiful display! Well worth the money spent on this. The length was better than expected and made for a memorable experience. May want to consider restroom options on days when the village is closed.

We visited the Charlotte Speedway to see the "Speedway Christmas" light show. The decorations are held inside the speedway, and you drive your vehicle through a path while viewing the lights from your car. We arrived around 6 PM and planned to buy tickets at the gate. As we closed in on the entrance, we saw very few cars around the Speedway and thought our car would get in quickly. We were very wrong. As we turned into the main entrance, we saw a long line of cars waiting to reach the ticket booth. Tickets were $45 per car. After purchasing our ticket at the booth, we drove forwar. We were told to follow the car in front of us. Soon, we realized we were in a line of ~800 cars in front of us! The line wrapped around several times in the outside area of the speedway before entering the light show. After a 2 hour wait in line, our car finally entered the speedway, and we began to see the decorations. The lights in the beginning of the show are pretty ordinary, but are synced to live music which can be heard by tuning into a radio FM in your car. The decorations get much better as you go further along the route, and actually are quite enjoyable by the end. Along your route, there is a "drive-in" movie theater to watch Christmas themed movies, again listening with the radio in your car. There is also a "Christmas Village" where you can park your car and walk to explore a mini market with food stalls. Overall, the decorations were quite enjoyable. However, plan on waiting a LONG time in your car as the line can get very long. We went on a Sunday and the line was still very long, so would definitely try to avoid Fridays and Saturdays if possible.

My first visit to the Dirt Track @ Charlotte was good in many ways... A pit pass to the World of Outlaws Sprint cars was great. Qualifying was ran fast and exciting. The heat races were decent (passing is not as usual as in most small dirt tracks), but after that it was a disaster! I cannot even begin to describe how poorly the track held up during the event. I get it, it's dirt and I love dirt tracks... But this was a race in a complete dust cloud with little ability to see any action on the track. The drivers were in danger just being on the track. One poor guy added an led light on the back of his car so someone didn't run him over. I love the WoO series, but the Charlotte race is off my list of places to go in the future.

Race with Rusty at Charlotte Motor Speedway is a must do if you have ever wanted to experience what it's like in a real race car. This is the third drive I have done with RWR, one in Atlanta and twice at Charlotte. I hope to make this at least a yearly event with my brother. There whole team really make sure you enjoy the whole experience from start to finish. Looking forward to the next chance I get to hit the track again. FUN, FUN, FUN.

Came here while visiting Family in the Concord, NC area. We were pleasantly surprised on how fabulous the drive through experience really was! Definitely recommend if down here for the holidays!

We were able to take multiple laps in a sportscar (Ferrari) from a outside contractor who brought about 20 cars and provided expert guidance. Went around the track at high speed. A lot of fun and got to see the Speedway. A nice and very large place.

The restaurant was pricey but delicious. Non members can only eat lunch. The Speedway experience was mind blowing and enjoyed by all. You do have to make reservations for the Speedway tour.

On a NASCAR- inspired road trip, this was a must-do tour. Even though we weren't here on a race weekend, the tour was extremely well-thought-out and put together. Our guide was very knowledgeable. I had no idea that the entire complex was so big! What a great ride for any Nascar fan!

If you want an authentic Carolina experience, just driving by the place is a neat experience!! However if you have the chance, definitely catch some kind of race!

Best fun on the planet, cars, racing, excitement!!! And so much fun!!!
What an amazing 2 weekends for the all star race weekend then the 500 the next weekend!!!
The food is crazy but good!!!
Lots of memorabilia to buy and exciting other vendors to visit plus fun free things!!!
So much racing and concerts and fun filled times!! Then there are so many different races!!!
This is a racing 2 weeks of fun fun fun !!!

The 2-hour tour at the Charlotte motor Speedway as a little bit on the long side. I was there with my adult son and you get a tour of the inside area where the club seats are and where the membership seats are and the dining areas, the press box, media rooms etc....... And you also get in a van and they take you around to the other tracks like the dirt track and the dragster track. And then you drive around into the inside part of the oval track and you get to stand inside the winner's circle. There's lots of information that the tour guide gives you about facts and interesting things that have happened at the racetrack. And then at the very end you take 2 laps in the van around the track. The van is modified so it can handle the banked corners of the track at 75mph. It was a lot of fun and you could really feel the speed. It was even a little scary for wimps like me. I think overall if they just cut down the walking tour or do it a little faster it would be a better tour. I would imagine that for some really young kids like 8 9 or 10 years old it would be a pretty boring 2 hours except for the very end.

Got free tickets through my boyfriend's work to go to a race, but I didn't realize we would be sitting amongst the clouds! I'm terrified of heights so when I crawled to my seat, I stayed there until the race was over. You can see everything from that terrace but when you are the same height as the leader board then it's a bit too much! The vendors are good, the area around the speedway is nice. And if you ever get to dine at the Speedway Club, I recommend it!

A beautiful light display on Charlotte's Motor speedway. No need to worry about parking, you get to drive on the speedway itself. Option to connect to radio station in your car, van or bus to set the mood with Christmas music. Almost like the old time drive in movies but with the Christmas lights. Very family friendly with the Bethlehem village available as well.

Yes, it’s loud. But… between people watching and car racing you are guaranteed to have an enjoyable time. Lots of food options, great seats.

Race its been a few years but we took the family to a race there, had a wonderful time and the kids really enjoyed it! The Williams family

My son surprised me on my birthday and we went out to the Charlotte Motor Speedway Club, and I got to take a ride and one of the cars and we went a hundred and fifty plus miles an hours. It was so much fun everyone in the family ended up doing it. I was very surprised though that my 11 year old granddaughter was allowed to go to. We all had a great day. I would highly recommend it.

Our first time at this speedway. Very nice facility. Heavy and friendly police presence moves traffic in and out quickly, and provides a safe environment. We didn't camp, but saw many of the sites and they looked very clean and easy to get into with camper, tent or motor home. Staff is very helpful No problem navigating around the grounds. View of the track is good from any seat.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is a nice place to take your family or go with friends to see a race. My friends and I sat in the alcohol free/ family section due to a previous bad experience with an intoxicated patron. This section was well monitored. The employees and police kept it alcohol free and gave everyone an awesome fan experience. The view is as the cars go into the pits, which is neat to see.

Not the best fan turnout. Nice facility, security could relax just a little (but I understand). Parking is free, and easy access. Not a bad place at all.

I can't say much expect we had a blast! Spent 3 full days at the track and in the pits watching everything racing! We had a great time!

The drive through Christmas light display was beautiful. When you drive halfway through the display...you can stop at the Christmas Village....walk through blowing snow, indoor vendors of gifts and food, outdoor: make s'mores, visit petting zoo, carriage ride and watch a Christmas movie on the BIG screen. A fun event!
It was a great start to our Christmas holiday!

Went to a classic muscle car show in addition to a race here. Very fan friendly and accomodating. Lots of space in the seats and fan safety and comfort is priority one. A severe thunderstorm blew into the area and track staff had the grandstand cleared and fans safe 5 minutes before the storm hit. Awesome place!!

We had a terrific visit at the Speedway. Kudos to the Speedway employees who made this an enjoyable experience. There were so many helpful people who made navigating this large venue very easy and we got lots of special up-close moments with the cars, crew and drivers.
SHOUT OUT TO CATS! CATS = Charlotte Area Transit System. We travel via public transit to and from the Speedway. Hassle-Free and it was $4.40. The buses link up with the light rail at J.W. Clay Blvd. It couldn’t have been easier. Leave the cars behind!

Maybe it's because we have experienced epic light shows such as the one at Tanglewood but we were a bit disappointed in the Christmas light show at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The long line/wait time was not worth what you get.
Driving on the racetrack was fun and we all enjoyed the free petting zoo.
In our opinions, the second half of the light display was far better than the first half which featured some odd scenes such as Santa catching his rear on fire and some things where it was hard to tell what they were supposed to be.
If you're only hitting one light show this holiday season, I wouldn't pick this one. Drive a little farther and go to Tanglewood. It's worth it.

This is a nice place to see a race. It is very easy to get in and out of the parking lots compared to other tracks. The seating is good and you can see the whole track from most seats. The facility is clean and has nice people working there.

The track is in amazing shape. I can't believe how state of the art it is. Was there for a ride along with my son. Of the larger tracks, this has to be the top.

Love this track!! Was our 2nd time here and it did not disappoint! Only both races turned into day races but can't control the weather!

Had fun at the races. Nice track. Loud but awesome. I would go again and again. My son was thrilled to see it the first time.

Had a great time and love the different ways to get help while at the track (text, the app, and all the personal waliking around) made for a great time.
I would add more concession stands offering more variety of food. Also, feel the place needs an update after visiting The new Daytona Speedway!

Enjoyed participating in the 55th Anniversary Mustang Show at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was easy to access the infield to participate in the Mustang Show. I've been here for all of the other Mustang Anniversary Shows.

I did a tour of the speedway via a TopDeck option and I was surprised at how much fun I had! I knew absolutely nothing about the world of motor racing (it's just not a super big deal where I'm from) - and I had an absolute blast and learned a bunch!
Our tour guide was lovely. I visited this place in December of '16; the Christmas light show was so pretty, and riding on the track itself was an incredible (and scary but in the best way) experience! Absolutely recommend doing a tour of this place if you're in NC!
We were lucky enough to even see some people race around the track as a practice session. Can't believe how fast these cars can go, even just for a warm up.
Gift shop was excellent, as were the prices and the staff.

This was my first trip to the speedway, I was very pleased with the race, however, the people weren't very friendly.

We visited here for a NASCAR racing experience. This is a neat speedway. It was a thrill to see the race cars speed along the track. The cars we saw were the ones that took people on the ride alongs. They were really going fast. It was thrilling to watch and hear. Very cool place!

I am not a NASCAR fan but figured I’d stop in since we were in the area. What a great place! The walk up is really neat with all the flags and handprints/footprints. I can’t imagine how exciting it would feel to be there on race day.
A nice lady told us where we could walk in at no charge to see the track. We could sit anywhere we wanted in the stands and watch some of the practice. I was not expecting that! We also did some shopping in the store and squished a souvenir penny. All employees were very nice and had a good sense of humor.
Even though I’m not a racing fan, I would love to take in the full NASCAR experience and I would have never said that before stopping here!

We had a great time on this tour during our visit to Charlotte. It is well worth the modest cost as you will enjoy seeing all three tracks (drag, dirt, and oval) at the location and learn about the many events and features of CMS. Our tour guide was great——he was knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the venue and the sport. Would highly recommend for everyone, even those who aren’t fans of NASCAR.

Come across the tour on their website and so glad I did. The tour is well put together and very reasonably priced, you get to see the speedway, drag strip and the dirt track. They also drive you around the speedway and down the racetrack. It is a must do, the teenagers even enjoyed it.

Ok, so I have extremely limited experience with racetracks. This is the only one I have ever been to. Now, that said, I have been to this one several times. I have sat in the stands, in a suite, and had pit passes. Each was a memorable experience. Sitting in the stands, was very cool, as you can literally feel the engines roar in your chest as they race by at close to 200 miles an hour! That said, so many people smoke in the stands, it can be disgusting. Also, people don't care that you have children with you and will smoke and cuss right next to you. There are so many people doing it that it's not like I can just ask one guy to stop. There are many. The suites are great, as you would expect, though you are a little removed from the action.

One of our vendors gave us VIP tickets to attend the Roval and didn't realize how huge the track was!!!!! So excited to see a live race!!!! Many food options and things to do before race, meet the drivers, hang out in the pit area!!! Just an amazing experience to say the least

We waited on the highway in the line on the right side of the road for an hour. Cars raced along in the pass lane, stopped, turned their turn signal on and either squeezed their way in at the front of the line at the intersection or people in front of us let them in, putting the hundreds of cars behind them in a longer line. Once you arrived at the speedway, your car was directed into a massive dark maze through the parking lot. There are plenty of signs posting which lane is the "Fast pass" lane, but some cars tried to mess up traffic by trying to change lanes. We paid the extra 20 bucks for the fast pass and slowly started our journey. Some cars did not follow directions and kept their lights on. No one was around to regulate any of this. There seemed to be less lights, but the music was the same old tired music that they have used every year. The lights were pretty once you got through this mess, but we realized that after our 4 plus hour journey from home till the end of the lights that we could have done something more awesome than sitting in the car. We could have seen the zoo lights at River zool in Columbia or Botanical gardens. Oh and please bring drinks, snacks, and stop for a pit stop before you arrive because the bathrooms are a mess and out of TP.

Beautiful light display at the Charlotte's Motor Speedway during the holidays! My husband and I were a little scared in the beginning since the lights were really sparse. But once we got to the middle of the display, there were a lot more lights and the display was fantastic. They set up an area where you can watch drive-in movies as well as a village to get food, pet animals, etc. What made our experience even more magical was there was someone with a truck that was outlined with Christmas lights. We ended up following the truck at the end.

I have been going to Charlotte Motor Speedway for 8 years and love this place. There are always having different events there that are awesome. I would definitely check this place out.

Love this track. Have visited it several times due to living about 3 miles from here. Always a fun time here and lots to do during the race weeks.

Enjoyed the race, bit it was sort of "follow the leader". Facility is great but there should have been more concessions open for that size crowd. Easy in and out for such a large crowd. We will be back for the Coca Cola 600!

Best place to go and watch a race! Most of the good crowd control and can even visit when there isn’t a race going on. During Christmas time they even decorate the whole track with lights and you can drive on it. Even have Santa and a petting zoo.

We haven't been here since they celebrated 25 years at charlotte. It was a day of walking and watching and having a great day at the track. We were there from noonish until the race ended at 12:30 in the morning. It took us an hour to get out of the parking lot and another hour to fina hotel. But rain delay and all. We had fun.

Visited on New Year's Eve and it was a wonderful experience.
Beautiful lights and staff was exceptionally friendly. Nice overlook near the end to get an overview.

I took my son in law and grandson to tour the track, what a blast. Our driver was awesome. Very informative and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend the tour to anyone.

We were here for the Ford Performance Racing School with Mustang Mach 1 Track Attack. Banquet room was good the night before along with good food. Track day had great layout for all aspects of the program.

Yeah the lights were pretty cool but most of them were burnt out. If I knew that this was what I was going to see THIS I wouldn’t have waited in the FOUR HOUR line of misery and headaches. Trust me, I love Christmas and all Christmas things but this was just pointless and out of all 8 people in the car NO ONE enjoyed it. We had 2 parents, 2 grandparents, an aunt, a teenager, a toddler, and a 7 year old. I expected a lot more from this...

That was a massive waste of time. 2+ hours in line, and by line, I mean bumper to bumper traffic. When you think you’re getting close to the end, you’re not. Then the actual lights were incredibly disappointing. “Santa’s Safari” with unrecognizable birds and weird neon lizards that were nothing close to impressive or worth $30. It was hell. Or at least purgatory. It took another hour-ish to get through. Maybe less. So 90% of the time you’re spending waiting with 0 lights. By the time we saw any lights the kids were completely stir crazy and did not care. Although even if the wait was less it wouldn’t have been worth it. Go see your local neighborhood lights for free.

Did the Feel the Thrill tour. Had a good time! Visited three tracks and went out on the speedway - drove fast around the track and the rover. Our tour guide was super friendly.

Me and my wife went to the Coke Cola 600 NASCAR race labor day weekend for the past two years and have had a blast. The people are so friendly there, never did the tour of the stadium. Not a bad seat in the house.

we visited for the Fall race weekend, and had a wonderful time, we did the track and facility tour, which was worth the time and money. our guide was very informative and entertaining

Great place to honor our veteran heroes. No other place has the respect and love for veterans like Charlotte Motor Speedway on this weekend. Seeing all the active military personnel and family and friends of deceased veterans taking part in the remembrance activities is heartwarming. From the introduction of the drivers to the prayer to the national anthem to the names of the those killed while on duty that were mentioned during the race, NASCAR knows how to honor our military!

Awesome show // great synchronization between music and lights /// remember to turn the headlights off

5 hours stuck in line for 30.00. By the time we finally got to see the lights, no one cared. It might have been better if we had an idea it was going to take that long and we could have packed water and snacks. Imagine being stuck in traffic for five hours to see an event that had very little to do with Christmas. Santa safari. No kidding! No Jesus, Very little santa, plenty of neon lizards though. In fairness, there were a lot of lights. Well laid out, beautiful, awe inspiring, not so much. Gaudy and it's clear NASCAR doesn't think highly of the reason for the season. Did I mention some of the lights "danced" with the the "radio station". Oh yea, terrible music track that repeated about every 20 minutes or so. Imagine how many times we got to hear it. Classic Christmas, no again. Probably ok if you happen to be age 8-12. Maybe not. I will Never visit this attraction again. Not if you paid me. NASCAR should be ashamed.

This was our first race weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I called the track ticket office roughly a month ago to inquire about my options. The ticket agent was very pleasant and Very helpful. We ended up purchasing a package deal giving us upgraded seats and access to all the Speedway Club advantages. This was a very good decision! ... We got reserved parking right across the street from the main entrance. Entry into the speedway was easy and quick. We were shown to the dedicated elevators for Speedway Club members, Speedway Club cafe and restaurant, restrooms and our great seats. Our pit passes allowed us entry into the pit road area. We first checked our personal items at the free check counter (so we didn't have to carry the scanner, our seat cushions, water bottles, etc.). We were picked up at the main Club entrance by golf cart and taken to the pit area. Later, another golf cart brought us back to the Club area. We took the Club elevator up to the Club cafe. There was virtually no line for the order counter, we got our food in about a minute. The large fifth floor dining room was all windows on three sides with large tables and comfortable chairs where we had a leisurely dinner until about 15 minutes before race time. At the end of the race, we took the Club elevator down to the Club exit and out to our car. ... I honestly don't know how it could have been much better. We had a great time! Would we do it again? In a heartbeat. ... Yes, the Speedway Club package was a little more expensive than just going for bargain basement seating but we feel it was well worth it. ... Give it a try if you get to one of the major race weekends at Charlotte. You won't regret it.

What a place to see a race! Was in town and being a NASCAR fan i was intrigued about the ROVAL. Bought the tickets the night before over the phone. Ticket office was helpful, and had my tickets within minutes. Arrived the next day, plenty of signage and low parking rates. Short walk to the track from the lots and got my tickets from will call. Barely any lines and they moved quick. Fan zone out front had may different options and tons of merchandise to buy. Security is quick and the lines move very quickly. We had seats in the Ford uppers and wow what a view! Was concerned about the heat up there but there was a nice breeze being so high up and for most of the event the sun was behind the grandstand. One complain would be the Ford uppers are very steep, a lot of people were falling down the rows, which is dangerous especially with alcohol involved. The race was incredible, so much action and could see just about all the track. The scoreboard was the only thing obstructing the view. Was very impressed with the venue and the fans. Easily some of the best in the sport. Venue was very clean, the bathrooms were basically spotless. If you are a NASCAR fan, even just a casual one.. Charlotte Motor Speedway is a MUST!
*Also the next day i did the tour, for $12 dollars its about 45 minutes to an hour. You tour the whole venue the drag strip, the short track and the Speedway and Roval. You are in a van and actually go on the track and do some laps at 60MPH+. Wait til you feel the banking in the turns! Also get to go in victory lane, which still had confetti from the race! Very fun, especially for the price.

Enjoyed seeing the track, being able to drive our 2012 BOSS 302 around the track, seeing their museum and gift shop. Lots of great vendors, cars and fun!

This is a really good exhibit. The cars and the stories of the drivers and trophies are fabulous. I especially enjoyed the films and the fact that there are simulators and an opportunity to time a semi pitstop. Good for families and probably a two hour stop.

If you like cars...any type of cars, then the Speedway is for you. From racing to car shows this is a great place. Easy to get to. Food concessions on premises. Large, clean restrooms. Lots of parking and plenty of lodging and restaurants down the road. There's even a huge shopping mall close by. We attended the Good Guys Car Show here in Fall '17 and will be returning next week for the Auto Fair .

The Charlotte Motor Speedway could accommodate a big group which was easy to keep track of everyone and let everyone participate. Getting to drive on the speedway was fun and hands-on by getting to see behind the scenes of an actual NASCAR track. The group learned about the speedways and different types of racing such as drag, dirt, and NASCAR along with go-cart tracks.

Great parking, clean track. Very well organized traffic flow, great seats. This is my second favorite track.

Easy to exit after the race, lots to do. The suites could use some freshening up, I heard they are talking about updates. Staff was wonderful, except extra security guard in the elevator. He was offended we were put in his maintenance elevator to help speed up the process, stink eye was given. Goodness, 20 of so of us were put in there by staff, we weren't sneaking in.

Awesome circuit to drive. Very clean and friendly people.
Ford Performance driving school located there is exceptional!

It was good. Best parts was watching Christmas Vacation on the big screen I would go again. I thought it was a little overpriced.

We did the over the wall tour here and had so much fun! We saw so many cool things that you wouldn't even think of. We had a blast! Our tour guide was fantastic too!

My husband did the 40 laps at the speedway and loved it. Everyone was courteous and would definitely be back.

was very nice and lots to do and see. so many lights and displays the shop was nice and having snacks available was really nice for the movie

The light show was horrible. When you pay to get in you think your about to get in and then you end up in a long line that took 4 hours to get through. The Express line is lame. The lines would prob keep moving if they didnt have express . People with little children cant be stuck in that line. Once you get in it your stuck. After waiting so long i didn't want to look at the lights.

We enjoyed driving to see the lights on the track! We arrived at 6:30 the day after Christmas and had literally no wait! It took us a little over an hour to drive through it all! Please if you attend, turn off your headlights! Totally worth it!!!!

This was our second trip for the All Star race and we had great seats. We sat in row 52 of the Ford section which is about halfway between the start/finish line and turn one. We were high enough that we could see all the track. It was also a hot day (93 in the afternoon) but we had a nice breeze where we sat. We plan on getting seats in the same area next year. If you have never been to a NASCAR race, this is a good one to start with, prices are reasonable and not crowded. Plus you get to see all the top drivers.

Charlotte is of course the capital of the NASCAR world. Of you're passionate about Cup racing, this is a place you should visit. There are excellent sight lines, even from our 10th row seats in turn 4, we had a nice view of almost the whole track. The free parking we got near the ajoining dirt track was convenient and not too terrible a walk. Be careful though, there is another parking lot that disguises itself as track parking, with an entrance about 40 feet before the turn for track parking. They tried to charge $20, and the parking location (I saw while leaving after refusing to pay), was a longer walk than the free parking. They really should be forced to post a sign with the price by the turn-in. Back to the track itself. The concession stands were overwhelmingly packed most of the night, with long lines. So long, that it made navigating the concourse difficult. The prices were also very high. The food options were also very conventional, with nothing that looked too tempting. That combination made skipping the lines an easy call. I know sporting events are going to gouge a bit, but charging $5 for a bottle of plain water on 90 degree day seemed criminal. You can bring your own cooler as an alternative, assuming you want to carry it around. As for the racing itself, NASCAR is of course not what it used to be. Over-engineering has made the cars almost impossible to pass on the track, so the action was limited during the all-star race we attended. If you're in Charlotte during a race weekend, its worth a visit for the sure spectacle of a big time race. The sight and sound of cars at 180mph is exciting. However, as a competitive sporting event, you'll see more action at your local short track.

If you plan on seeing the lights, bring an adult diaper and a bag lunch. Lines are infinitely LONG!!

First time in many years attending a NASCAR event. The staff was great and we had a blast! Was a family group of 4 and just a fun night out. Ate dinner at the Food Court which was very basic fair, but very good quality and priced reasonable considering the location. I have paid much more for less quality at many a sporting event.

Pretty exciting first date as we ended up in a luxury suite at the Charlotte motor Speedway for the All-Star race. I had been to a couple of races before but this is my first time in a luxury suite and as it was a rather warm evening it was quite a treat. Being up high affords a better view of the entire race track although you miss out on the sounds and smells of being out in the open. It was nice to be able to hear the broadcast of the race and I found it easier to keep track of what was going on the seating was comfortable and the availability of food and beverages was a nice treat as well. I am now spoiled as far as racetrack attendance unfortunately.

We just took the track tour. Had no idea the size, scope and diversity of the umbrella the speedway is under! So interesting, informative and fun! Got to do two laps in the tour van! Woo hoo! Highly recommended way to spend an hour even if you’re not really a race fan. Steve did a very good job!

Went here for a Huge car show and it was so much fun to look at all the cars and be down on the track it was definitely a great place to visit!

We went with another couple for the night All Star race. We had no trouble with traffic getting to the course and actually only had to walk a couple hundred yards to our seats. Their food concessions are suspect; we went to one for a sandwich and some chicken strips and the bill should have been $19; they said $26 but also mentioned the sandwiches were not done yet? We said we would go to another one. We went to one fifty feet away that had the exact same menu and ordered and it was $19. A 16 ounce beer was $7 but then, we were on vacation. The view from our seats was excellent and the personnel at the track were very friendly. I would definitely return.

We visited here in September for the Roval 400 and had an amazing experience, never seen the inside of a Nascar track before as we are from the UK. This place is amazing, vast array of seating and an incredible view of the action from anywhere. Good array of eating facilities inside and plenty of opportunity to purchase Nascar memorabilia. If you love Nascar then its well worth the visit.

We had a great tour. Our tour guide went out of his way to show us all the spots. Especially the stint we did on the oval was a bonus as it didn't look that we would get a change due to a VIP car on the track. To see the zMAX Dragway and The Dirt Track were special for me. In Europe you don't get the change to see these places and here they are all together.

We live in the Dominican Republic. Because Charlotte Motor Speedway put the Cabarrus County, NC 2021 high school graduations on the internet we were able to watch our granddaughter's graduation in real time as Covid limits our travel. THANK YOU SO MUCH CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY!!!!

I visited the speedway on a recent trip to Charlotte. Doing the van tour of the complex is a must ! The driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. He provided an exciting and entertaining tour. The souvenir shop was well stocked with a variety of items. The staff very friendly. I had a great timer and highly recommend stopping here.

Got an invite to spend a weekend with the Focus On the Family NASCAR experience. Absolutely a GREAT weekend! We toured Penske and Gibbs garages, rode the pace car, had a box seat, worshiped with the drivers. If you get a chance, GO!

We saw the NASCAR car haulers on parade as they entered the track for the race on Saturday. The ticket counter told us there was not a parade but at 4:00 all the haulers lined up and entered the field in a parade. Beautiful semi trucks.

Interesting cars and vendors were spread out. Wheelchairs were ridiculous $70.00. Signs where to park were not clear. Handicapped people had to park 2 times. Once to get the tickets and a second time to access the entrance that was wheelchair accessible.

The Charlotte Motor Speedway is the destination for anything with speed and cars! There is excitement for the entire family when you visit this mega complex, year round.

My family and I usually 8 to 12 people go every year to the Coca-Cola 600 we have a ball tailgating drinking beer hot dogs hamburgers it's just a lot of fun and I hope everybody can make it

I’ve been visiting Nascar tracks (8 so far) and I have to say this track is beautiful. I recommend sitting in the higher seats so you can observe the whole track. The grass is picturesque. The track is neatly designed. The backstretch is interesting as some cars attempting to catch the lead can get an extra nudge while some cars seem to slow down. It’s as if God is playing favorites, but only on that backstretch.
The staff were all very professiona, friendly and accommodating. I splurged a little for the club indoor seating and now I’m spoiled. It still gets loud, but I did not require ear protection and the A. C. Was perfect.
The food and drink were not included in the weekend package, but the prices are reasonable. There is a variety of food options, but it’s basically bar type food. There are healthy options.
The premises were clean and modern. The bathrooms were also clean and modern. The only complaint would be the long line for drinks as there seems to be an antiquated payment system that should be sped up.

This was the first time we attended a race, and it was a great experience to share with my husband and two kids aged 12 and 15. We got there a couple of hours before the race and did not know that in order to get parking right n front of the complex you had to pay and reserve, but at the end it was no problem. There was free parking a little further and a shuttle bus that takes you right to the entrance, so it ended up being no problem. We had pre-purchased our tickets online so we entered right away. There are a lot of food vending places in the halls, as well as souvenirs. We ended up buying sound protectors (headsets) for $15 but well worth it was the noise if not would have been unbearable. We also got some souvenirs. Food is not so good and VERY expensive ($8 for a tiny hot dog, etc...) but it was part of the experience I guess. The race was a great experience, but I thought it was a bit too long with kids. Some people only arrived for the final rounds and I understood later why. Overall a fun experience but we arrived at 4:30pm and left at 10pm, and the traffic was terrible at the exit. If you can take your own cooler and beverages which is allowed, as it gets very hot and everything is very expensive inside.

Yes my name is Paul I drove all the way from Columbia South Carolina been doing it for 15 years every Friday after Thanksgiving the fans can come up here and drive their personal cars around the racetrack I've been up here twice and they have an announced that it was not doing it anymore and just let the fans Keep On Believing that they can still do it but let them know if you're not doing it so no Charlotte Motor Speedway does not have your s*** together

This was AWFUL the line took 2 hours just together into the speedway for the light show. The lights were just fairytales then after 3 hours you finally get to the real show. THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

My husband is a big NASCAR fan so we came to CMS for the Feel the Thrill Speedway Tour. Since we had my sister and baby along, only my husband and 15 year old son went on the tour. I had booked the tickets online the week before we arrived ($12 each plus a small fee) so they just checked in and were given tickets for the tour. Both of them had a blast on the 45 min to an hour tour, especially the part where they were driven at 70mph around the track.
While my sister, baby and I waited for them, we asked if we could see the track and the tour vans and we were given a mini tour by an awesome gentleman (sadly, I forgot his name!). We were taken to the stands for pictures and to watch the tour vans for a few minutes. Such an awesome sight!
Definitely recommend a visit and be sure to go shopping in the giftshop! You get 10% off with the tour tickets

Great location for the drag races. Parking can be muddy and the walk alittle tiresome but it's good family fun! Pack s cooler without glass though it's super pricey.

We were in Concord / Charlotte area for a couple of nights. We drove over to the Charlotte Motor Speedway and really didn't want to take a formal tour in a van full of people. We just wanted to peek out on the track. A lovely lady who was taking care of the tour counter took us out to view the track and answer some of my husband's questions. We were very thankful for this experience.

Went for the all star race weekend. Cool track. They let us take one extra cooler in too! Nicest i have been to including indy, kansas, and michigan

Visited the Speedway for the All-Star Race this May. The festivities were exciting with a great Open Race and All Star Race won by Kyle Busch. Going to the Speedway is a must for any NASCAR fan and is a great way to gain an appreciation for the sport if you are new to NASACR.

This facility is fantastic. If I lived in the area I would consider a season pass. Bruton Smith has really done this right. There is a dirt track across the road and a drag strip down the road. They are in the process of building a 2 1/2 mile road course on the property which will be on the schedule for the fall race. The grandstand is built with great viewing from all seats. There was a great selection of food vendors and a very nice souvenir shop. Getting to the track and parking was very easy. We sat in the parking lot for an hour before being able to leave

This is a review of the Christmas Lights at Charlotte Motor Speedway. I had purchased a ticket for Dec 6th and had them in my hand. I just happened to visit the website where it now says that the event is closed to the public Dec 6th.
If I hadn't happened to go to the website to check, I could have arrived only to find the event closed to the public. It is a 1-hour drive for me to get to the speedway.
No notification of any kind. Very BAD customer experience. Be careful

My husband and I went for the Coca Cola 600 and it was the first time visiting the track. It was a great track and awesome race. The best part was the show they put on to honor the military and those that paid the ultimate price for our freedom! The large shuttle buses from the far back parking areas was a huge help, especially since I have severe joint issues and can't walk for long distances. Plenty of food vendors, restrooms, and the jumbotron was a great help to see the back stretch since we couldn't see it from where we were sitting. Would definitely come back!

We visited Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) to see the Christmas lights. We have seen other drive through Christmas lights and were not novices; but, CMS was different. First, you actually get to drive on the race track...drive not race; but, you can drive a little on the incline in the curves which was really cool. Different themes from fairy tales are illustrated along with other Christmas themes. Also, there is a movie showing on the big screen that you can tune to on your radio for volume. We skipped getting out to go to the stores but they were packed. The setup was fun and imaginative and we may make it a Christmas staple during the holiday season. Recommend getting the fast passes online to avoid lines which can get long.

Charlotte motor speedway is a fun place to come see racing. Lots of race shops nearby and plenty to do.

My husband and I throughly enjoyed driving on the race track to see the light displays. We did not go to the Christmas Village, but the movie Home Alone was playing as we were driving. The Christmas lights were spectacular and unusual. Not the run of the mill light display. Definitely worth every penny. Will return if we’re in Charlotte next Christmas.

My husband and I took our daughter and two grands to lunch in the dining room overlooking the track. While the track was inactive, the view was spectacular and we had a delicious meal.

Awesome experience - Christmas light display. I've tried to leave this review twice now and it seems to disappear. So this is the Cliff notes version: people LOVE this, no matter how well-traveled they are. Every person I've brought here loves this display. I love it. It never disappoints. I saw a negative review and I can't for the life of me figure out how someone could say this is not worth it. It is AWESOME!!! I took friends from Boston with me on Sunday night, after waiting 2 hrs to get into McAdenville the night before. The latter has its charm but is NOTHING compared to the Speedway Xmas light show.
Don't miss this!!! I take people every year. I never get tired of it. Take your time, and really pay attention to the way the displays are synchronized to the music on radio station 101.3 as you drive through. Don't rush.

This is a great place for any NASCAR fan. Seeing the cars and memorabilia of the sports roots was wonderful. Expect to spend they day. There is so much to do and see.

Took the basic tour, was 45 min to an hour. Well worth the time, we aren't really race fans, but enjoyed the tour and the history. The van took us for a ride on the track. We had a good time.

Great tour with family. They drove us to each if the seven tracks they own. Fun and very informative. They drove us around the speedway which was awesome. Kids had a blast too.
Note we are not big NASCAR fans and still really enjoyed this.
A must do if your here!

This place is HUGE! The tour is well organized and offered at a reasonable price. The $5 picture of you in the Winner Circle is really not necessary as you can take your own (but it was a nice souvenir for my husband and I). I would recommend the "Over the Wall" tour over the cheaper one as you will get to see more of the place for a few more bucks. Not being a NASCAR fan, I have to admit it helped me appreciate the sport. The drive on the track was totally the highlight of the day, although drag racing in a minivan is way up there too! Do take the tour whether you are a fan or not; it is just too cool to see with your own eyes how enormous this building is. A special thank you to Tim, our tour guide , who did a super job showing us around; we quite enjoyed your informations and especially your sense of humour, Tim!

We went out here for the Auto-Fair. Lots of cool cars and lots of junk for sale, some cool stuff, too. It was neat to see, but not nearly as cool as the hype. We couldn't find any food or beer vendors open.

My two sons and I traveled from Minnesota and Wisconsin to attend the race weekend. Great area, fun for everyone. One negative, need more men's restrooms.
Great Memorial Day Weekend!
We will be back

This was my first time attending the Coca Cola 600. I have been to numerous other NASCAR Cup Series tracks including Daytona, Dover, New Hampshire, Bristol, Darlington, Watkings Glen, and Richmond so I have some other facilities to compare this track to.
Charlotte is a top notch facility and the Coke 600 weekend just has a special feel to it. Charlotte does an incredible job with putting on a show for memorial day and a race. Everything from the credentials trailer, to parking, to getting in and out of the track was extremely easy. (Yes, this was the 2nd of about 40 cup races that I have been to that I have been lucky enough to have had Hot Passes for).
I sat in the New Veranda (the orange section of seats). I bounced back and forth from pit road to my seats for the cup race. The Xfinity and ARCA race I watched the majority of them both from pit road. If I were attending again and planned to stay in my seat the whole time, I wouldn't even question it....New Veranda is the place to be. Access to these seats its guarded by security and you cannot access them without a wristband. You also have your own restrooms and concessions.
Now, the question that I was trying to stay away from but needs to be touched on is the racing action. Having other tracks to compare it with and working on a NASCAR modified team myself, I am very biased towards short track racing. This was my first 1.5 and they are starting to get a little bit big for me. I say that because the Daytona 500 was incredible to attend but you needed binoculars even from the best of seats cause the track was just so large. Anything bigger than Charlotte, I am starting to lose my interest in attending due to this fact. 1.5's are okay in my book in terms of vision. The racing action...well, this racing package is just awful this year. Luckily I got to see a decent race when I attended.
All in all, this review isn't to judge NASCAR, it's to judge the facility and it is top notch. Sit New Veranda....you will thank me later!

This is an amazing facility! It is pretty intimidating driving up to it from virtually any direction. Have experienced several events and opportunities at Charlotte Motor Speedway, including the NASCAR experience where you are able to drive a real race car around the track. Amazing!
The people who are running this facility seem very genuine, kind and friendly, and I have witnessed several times now the track open for people escaping weather or other situations. Not to mention the Holiday Lights drive thru. I am very pleased to have the Speedway here in Charlotte, and encourage anyone to check it out at least once.

The Over the Wall Tour exceeded my expectations. You see many areas of the Speedway. The ride on the track was great. Well worth the money.

Visited the Charlotte Motor Speedway for the 2018 All Star Race and saw a great race!!! As always, the entire team at the Speedway put on an amazing show.

Always have a fun time at the races in Charlotte. We had great seat and the weather was great too. The fans are all fun and friendly.
Love the Rovel Race. I'm not sure of the date it was.

My wife isn't a NASCAR fan and she enjoyed the tour. We did the 2 hour tour and our guide was excellent pointing out various pictures to look at and showed us a couple things I am not sure we were supposed to be seeing. The track tour was awesome

Once in a lifetime driving experience in a NASCAR vehicle !!! A great afternoon of fun driving on this famous track. We had a drivers training session in the media room, several lap training session with a pro driver and then 3 laps on my own with a track spotter.... it was video taped and a great memory.... If you love raw power go for it.

We took the one hour tour which includes a ride through the nearby ZMaxx drag racing complex (the day after the 4 Wide Nationals, we saw John Force running around on his scooter) and the dirt track that is home for many of the "World of Outlaws" events. Both of these race facilities are located in sight of the Charlotte Motor Speedway making this part of Concord rich in motor sports history. Couple that with the Hendrick Motorsport complex and museum nearby, this area is very busy with race fans.
The Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) is home to the NASCAR All-Star race in May, the Memorial Day Coca Cola 600 and the fall NASCAR race. Once we returned to the CMS, our tour guide showed us the pit area, fan areas, Victory Lane/Winner's Circle, Infield Care Center (on property hospital to treat drivers and any fan related issues), and new infield road course.
Our tour guide was a seasoned driver who had been around the block a couple of times. She took us out on the track in a 12 passenger Ford van and drove right up to the very top of turn # 1. Did I mention the turns are banked at 24 degrees? I literally could have reached out and touched the sides of the retaining wall with my hand. I could feel my shorts starting to slide down the seat when she questioned "do you think we will roll over from here"? She continued around the track pointing out the "racing lines" of the track. The next lap around, she was on the plus side of 80mph going into turn #1. A real "E-ticket" ride with a Granny, go figure!!

Want to get in the spirit of Christmas? make sure you include a stop at Charlotte speedway. People who create their own light displays often are underwhelming. Charlotte Speedway hired Shadrack's Christmas Wonderland to come in with their nationally recognized lights and music. The lights the timing with the music AWESOME. They also had a Christmas movie playing on the big screen where you change to another radio station so you can watch the movie. Not to be Missed..

Ok so there is a Chritmas drive thru
Even if you roundup the track sits most of the year. Why not use it concerts, flea markets ,and other events

I was there for the first Roval! Way up at the top of the Ford Stand. Perfect seats.
I took away only one thing. The hunger, the inner demons, and the history cannot be denied. I witnessed men throw it all down. Give up points and safety for a shot at a win. Points race be damned! Kudos! The sport lives!

I visited for the Roval race and Everything was great except for the under the grandstand walkways. People must not understand what side your supposed to walk on and drive on in America because it’s absolutely BRUTAL under there. And since it’s so small down there, it clogs it up. If I return I will be avoiding that, but it won’t stop me from coming back.

Absolutely indescribably fun! You won't and can't be disappointed!!!!! Every driver and rider gets out of the car with a smile so big no words are needed.

Seven of my family members ages 10 to 81 piled in our SUV to go see the speedway lights on the 30th. We arrived at 5:30 and were at the beginning of the queue. We went in right on time and loved it! The lights coordinated with the music were impressive. We stopped at the village - highly recommend the mini donutes. Melt in your mough good! The lights even continued as we droves through the stands to exit. A wonderful family outing!

I elected to take the 2 hour "Over The Wall Tour" of Charlotte Motor Speedway, and it was absolutely worth it! You get to see so many different places throughout the Speedway property, and our tour guide was very friendly and informative. I actually learned quite a bit on this tour. Of course, getting to take some laps around the track just capped off the whole thing. Simply put, it's worth every penny. Go for it!

Hearing protection for children a must. So many things going on! Trailers with race car driver items for sales. New cars on display. A race car to sit in and have your photo taken. Parachuters droppin in. For the race itself, rent radios to hear what is going on and for hearing protection, worth it.

We waited 2 hours on line, in our car, not worth the wait. The actual track is about 3 miles. If you are from NY and not easily impressed by juvenile and lame Christmas lights, don’t even bother. Complete waist of time! In addition, if you have teenage kids they will be bored. Lame!

In December, the racetrack transforms into a light display. It event has a live nativity scene! Ride on the actual race track in your own car!

Alway innovators in the motorsports experience for fans the Smith family found a solution to boring 1.5 mile tracks. ... the ROVAL 400 hybrid oval/road course which is 400 kilometers, not laps or miles. Campgrounds are amazing. On "Black Friday" if you donate $25 to NASCAR Children's Charity you can drive your own car for 3 laps on the track behind a pace car.

This was one of the best speedway tours I've taken.
You start out with a general overview of the huge property. Then you get to see the drag strip area where they do NHRA events. And when I say "see" it, I mean see and feel.
Then you move on to the main speedway, where you get to see all of the normal areas (garages, pits, grandstands, winner's circle, etc.). But then they take you up onto the banking. It is really hard to tell on TV (or even just looking from the apron) how steep the banking really is until you are up there. And about the time we caught our breath, the tour guide hammered on the gas and took us for a couple of laps at 90+ miles per hour. You get up on the banks, then dive into a corner. Then jump out of the corner and up near the outside wall. It was INCREDIBLE!!!
And keep in mind, this is not some $150-$200 "custom experience". This was the regular twelve dollar tour.
HIGHLY recommended

We went there for the christmas light show. it was amazing! I am visiting there for my daughters feild trip.

Went there to see NASCAR race the ‘roval’. Venue is huge with solid food options and plenty of restrooms. You can take in a small cooler with drink and food. Ear plugs are a must. Would recommend hat, sunscreen and shades. Great, great day out for adults and kids.

We had great seating and enjoyed the track amenities.Access to all refreshments and foods was Great.

This is a great speedway to watch a race. There isn't a bad seat in the place. The suites are beautiful and comfortable, and the giant TV screen provides a great view of the whole track. The track does require a lot of walking, so bring comfy shoes.

First off, go early and go on a week day if possible. The place can get packed. If you have to go on a weekend, pay the extra for the fast pass. It can really save you a lot of time on a crowded night.
The lights are great. We go at least once a year. Usually we grab a couple pizzas and get to the gates early and eat supper in the car. I have no complaints about the lights at all. The infield in turns 3 and 4 are all coordinated to music that you can listen to inside your car. When you leave you think that it is over, but then you actually exit out through the upper concourse in a tunnel of lights.
We also pick our nights based on the movie they are showing. It makes for a fun night with the family.
The Bethlehem scene is neat to walk through, but the shops and such inside in the village we usually skip.
Overall I recommend everyone that enjoys Christmas lights to come out and see it.

This was our second visit to CMS. It’s a great track to see a race: we’ve sat both high and low and have a great view of the on track action. It’s fun to be able to access the track with passes to be down on pit road and sign your name on the start/finish line. Staff are also very friendly and helpful as well.

If you are in the Charlotte area be sure and take a tour of the track. You will ride around the track, tour the facility, learn the history and stop in Winners circle for pictures. It is a very inexpensive and well worth time.
Just remember that there are NO tours during racing weeks.

This was my son's first time to a race. He had an absolute blast. It was a great day of family and racing.

The staff at the track has done a masterful job of keeping up with the times and installing upgrades. The best thing that they have done is ensuring that there are seats where there used to be bleachers or bare concrete. The HDTV in turn 3 is a nice touch to keep the crowd engaged. Take some kind of hearing protection, ideally a scanner with over the ear headphones. That will allow you to listen to the interaction between drivers and crews. Oh yeah, and wear comfortable shoes. You will do a LOT of walking.

Xtreme Experience Charlotte
Absolutely do NOT use these. I bought a $399 voucher for my wife for an elite car experience. However what they don't make very clear is that the voucher is for the car and only for the car.
The insurance, any of the add-ons that they push - all extra. In addition, if the value of the car you want/select is less than the value of the voucher you are screwed. They don't let you use any balance of the voucher for anything. You can't use it for the insurance. You can't use it for the add-ons. You can't carry the balance over to use another time or for another person. There's no options. You literally give them money for nothing.
The customer service is so poor but scripted. "We understand etc" - but they still gouge you.
They acknowledge the policy doesn't look good but "can't" do anything about it which translates to they "won't" do anything about it.
We haven't even been for the car experience yet but we already feel ripped off and it has totally soured what should be a memorable day.
So save your money - choose another Xperience company that has some customer service values/ethics and doesn't try to rip you off.

Attended the Bank of America Roval and have attended many races at this facility. Nice venue to see a race BUT parking is a fiasco especially this time after the race. It was very disorganized and we could not move for over an hour. It really takes away from the fan experience. Our family has attended nascar races at other tracks and parking was a much better experience by far. Charlotte Motor Speedway needs to get their act together regarding parking to elevate the fan experience.

We went about five years ago and it was okay. Once you made it to the in field you can walk around which is nice. According to the Ads it has grown and has more lights.... Well we were horribly disappointed this time. We got in line around 7 pm on the main road. Once we got into the track around it wrapped back and forth in the parking lot. And once you got to a certain point you are stuck, you could not get out to leave. It was after 11 by the time we made it to the actual track to see the lights. Of course everyone was tired and ill by the time we got in there. The lights weren't even Christmassy...it was some type of nursery rhyme theme. And when you could see the whole track at one time you really didn't want to drive around the infield for another hour, but again you are stuck. It was midnight by the time we made it to the area where you could park and walk around. Of course my kids were falling asleep so we didn't even bother. So $25 to wait 4 hours to see not so great lights, we will never do it again.

Was my first race ever! I took my niece who recently move to Charlotte and do nothing about NASCAR! Walked around the fan Zone and couldn't believe the drivers we saw. The race itself was jam-packed full of excitement.
Charlotte Motor Speedway is a class act when it comes to putting on a race. Their Hospitality people were second to none. Kudos 2 North Carolina State Police for getting people in and out of the track quickly.
Already making plans to go to the All-Star Race in May.

Went on Saturday evening to see the Christmas lights 10mins after they opened and waited in the line for over an hour and a half just to get from where they scan your ticket to the entrance of the speedway. Lights were mediocre at best and the Christmas village was alright. Not thrilled for spending $45

It was an other great year and a great race. Camping in the infield with friends is the best part. We do this 2 times a year and is always a great time.

Weekend get away for the guy to a race event in Charlotte. So close to the race location and enjoy the city of Charlotte. Good location off highway and great local restaurants.

First time to the track and we thought it was all that! The track offers something for everyone, lots of shopping, food options, drinks etc. They have little golf carts rzipping around ready to give you a lift at any time. We also got PIt Passes, but don’t think you’ll get in to see the cars with that, you will not. You need a HOT or COLD pit pass for that which we ended up getting and it was amzing. The race was crazy loud, fastand furious. We loved ever second of it. Absolutely all the staff we had interaction with was friendly, happy and helpful. We were seated in Toyota 4th turn and we loved the seats.

We went on the Feel the thrill tour and had a blast. Our tour guide was Chris who was the best. Very knowledgeable and loved when we went 90 mph around the track. Definitely worth it.

Love the new format! ROVAL racing really was exciting. Was pleased with the whole event. State Troopers got everyone in and out in a timely manner. Parking was normal, track staff always friendly. Food was not over priced like most places around here.
Looking forward to the next roval!

This was my first time going and the place did not disappoint. You can bring in your own snack and beer which saved us a lot of money. Tons of bathrooms, vendors, and food options. I would say this is a must-visit once in your life.

Track volunteers need a class in giving directions. "Just up there" is not helpful. Signage for parking is sorely lacking. Otherwise we had a great time and getting to our seats was easy. Staff are friendly, just somewhat uninformed.

while on business in between appointments I happened to catch a tour of the track.
loads of fun visiting the dirt track, drag strip, and the NASCAR course. drove around the track in a tour van. went up on winner's circle.
the guide was loads of fun!

Well. Even better to come on race day. But you can book car rides with drivers. We booked space for meetings too. They had breakfast and lunch prepared by a great team. Bucket list stop for many.

Don’t go on a weekend, because nothing is open. Luckily, the Ford Mustang driving group was on the track and the security guard let us in to take photos. We were there before COVID and it was a completely different experience. Check all of the owner shops in all of the surrounding areas to see if they are even accepting visitors yet.

We went to the Speedway to go see their Christmas lights display. AIM so glad we did! The light show was great! We also visited the village inside the track. Food vendors were a bit pricey, but the craft vendors were nice. We also enjoyed the tubing at the end of the track. Overall a GREAT family experience for Christmas time!

The tours at the racing complex is a great way to get introduced to racing. You get to shoot down the ZMax drag strip in the van, top speed is around 75 instead of 330 but you get a chance to see what it's like. A lap or two around the large 1 1/2 mile and ride the steep corners. The price is inexpensive for the tour and we'll worth the visit!

We went for the holiday light show. After paying the money ($30) for our minivan full of people, we'd assumed that the line was going to be fairly quick to get in as we'd already waited about 30 minutes prior to paying. NOPE!!!! We had to wait another 4 hours before we got in. By then the entire setup in the middle of the track was shutdown and they wouldn't allow you to pull off anywhere to observe the lights at a slower pace. As one person in our car commented "It's a glimpse into what hell will be if you don't accept Jesus as your Lord and savior." That's the truth. Save yourself the agony and don't go - you'll never gain back that time.

Great, clean and lots to do here during the race. Big decline in attendance over the years, removed large grandstands and drop in "choices" outside/ inside of the track with vendors. Much overpriced NASCAR products you can purchase for sure.

We had booked a tour of CMS for Thursday of our trip. Found out on Tuesday that they were doing Roval testing. My boys were so excited! They had it set up great. The Roval testing was free and we received free tickets for the legends and bandeleros that were racing that night. The tour on Thursday was fantastic! Our guide was very knowledgeable about track and it's history. We even got to take 2 laps around the Roval which made my kid's day! Can't wait to travel back to North Carolina for a race weekend @ CMS!

After waiting in the maze-like line for an hour and a half, we entered the Speedway...WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! We were hoping for current, high tech, light entertainment only to find dated, sporadic, wire-framed, light displays and characters that looked like they were purchased from a large retailer in bulk. I have seen better Christmas lights in neighborhoods. This would have been tolerable, had we been able to exit from the premises, but with the traffic not adhering to "slower traffic keep right" signs on the track, we were trapped. We did not visit the Village (which may have made this trip worthwhile). Forget about the money...don't waste your time. For $30 a car, this was a cheap looking, cheesy way to bring in revenue in the off-season making corporate sponsors cringe...There is lots of room to improve this event. They could make this really great by hiring a professional company with state of the art lighting. Instead, we couldn't wait to get out and be set free from the maze on the track! What if there was an emergency? There is no way to leave once you enter without following behind the sightseers. The only employers we saw to even ask for an exit route were the ones taking our money before we entered the racetrack! The only thing I can think of that may have made this even less tolerable, is having a carload of YOUNG children trapped in carseats for 3 hours!

We thought it would be cool to see, we read details, got the fast pass- and wow what disorganized traffic flow, and WAIT! 2 hours before we got in, 3 hour tour. I could have gone to Gilligans island and back. With as long as they have done this- you would think it would be smoother even when busy. If you don’t get a fast pass it would easily been another 1-2 hours.

$30 per carload, get their right at opening or before, and have your car loaded to lower the per person cost. Excellent light show. Be sure to stop 1/2 way through at the shops/food tent, and the petting zoo. Go inside the building for restrooms vs the portable bathrooms in the parking lot. Donuts, popcorn, Gyros. Plus a couple of stalls selling various items. Go out to see the petting zoo - goats, yak, llama. The pet food is expensive, $2 for a small cup. But kids AND adults had a good time feeding the animals. Then continue through the rest of the light show. Fun evening.

This was the first time in many years to go back to CMS. Everyone was very accommodating and I really appreciated having golf carts to assist me since I do have medical issues. The tribute to the veterans was amazing and heart touching. I also enjoyed the race even with the evacuation due to severe weather. Thanks for a great day!

Went to see NASCAR race good but not happy with the way they treat individuals with handicaps. Parking is too far away, walking requires climbing hills and walking over a bridge. Why not have handicap parking across street so people can walk or use wheelchairs not on hill but level area. They cannot use the carts after the race for 45 minutes minimum. Felt not friendly to handicap, we did have a great experience with viewing the races, we had seats in row 61 but got tickets for row 13 because of being handicapped and it was great.

Ten days of cars, racing, and good food there is no better way to spend a vacation. Charlotte Motor Speedway never disappoints with the events and fan activities. The staff is fantastic and willing to help.

What a blast being taught how to push the limits of your car! Well run by racing enthusiasts, our day flew by in no time! Rain did cut into our track time, but no one can control the weather!

Decided to tortue my family more this weekend and make them go to the track. However they all had a good time due to the people being so nice and friendly. The tour was excellent. just wish it was longer...like one more time around the track :) just need to see a race from here

My son had been wanting to go to a Nascar Cup race and this is where he wanted to go, specifically to the Coca Cola 600.
The race was postponed on Sunday due to rain but we were welcome back for the Xfinity and the Cup race on Memorial Day Monday. The Memorial Day events were great during the prerace show as well as the Star Spangled Banner performed by Lance Corporal Elizabeth Marino, USMC.
My son and I had a really great time!

I'd never been before and we went had a blast. The atmosphere was just crazy. The noise from the track to the hub bub around our seats. Every one was having a really good time. Would definitely recommend going to the sprint car races.

Members of our East Tennessee Corvette Club traveled to Charlotte and enjoyed the Over the Wall Tour at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It was one of the highlights of our trip to Concord, NC. We had a close up look of the press boxes, a VIP suite and the PRN radio studio. There is a great view of the entire track from the VIP suite. We then rode in a van to see the dragway and the dirt track, as well as the pit garages. We also had two laps around the banked track which was a thrill and had a group photo taken at Winner’s Circle. Our tour guides waere great and gave us a lot of interesting information about racing and the track. Even if you aren't a NASCAR fan, I would recommend taking this tour.

We paid $30 for the fast pass tour of the speedway (per vehicle) You ride in your own car and tune your radio to hear the guide who is leading the way. We drove on the track, got out at the start finish line, winner’s circle and turn three 24 degree banking and the cup garage! It was so well done, track history, additions over the years. Remarkable ! Tremendous value!

Had a great time at the Charlotte 600! The facility is top notch! We've been to multiple tracks around the country & this one has the best staff anywhere! They actually have volunteers on golf carts that will take you anywhere on the grounds. These 2 young men took us all over, showed us where everything we were wanting to go to was, & they were so nice, entertaining, made it an even better experience than it already was, & that's saying something because it's truely an awesome facility. The concerts they have ate awesome too. Top notch in every way!

We get there 7 pm and left 12:30 am and the show only 30 mn so do the math , by the time w get inside the track my kids already asleep. It was the worst experience for me and the longest wait time ever. To be fair it is not worthy at all.
Paying $30 and half tank of gas plus 5 hour wait make me fell stupid .

I was invited to a racing event with my husband... work, social, fundraiser event... Fun & educating experience... We had a tour of garages, other facilities, watched a race, etc! Great time!

Attended the Coke 600 weekend this past weekend. The staff for the speedway was amazing. Super friendly and helpful. It was a great value for the price. All the available activities that were included made it an action packed weekend from start yo finish. I will be renewing for next year.

This is a year-round destination and their Christmas lights are an annual must-see event. Not just for NASCAR fans.

We had a blast a the race. All kinds of different food. Some rude employees but im sure its due to the large crowds which is to be expected. Will go back for sure!! Plus you are allowed to bring a cooler inside ( NO GLASS BOTTLES ALLOWED)

Pay the extra $10.00 to go through the fast lane or you will be stuck in a maze. If you buy the pass online, print it out and take it with you. Once inside you'll be treated to a festive display of Christmas lights that blink or move to the music that you play on your radio. Many nights there are movies playing on the large screen like the old drive in movies. In the center of the track is the Christmas village that families with small children would appreciate. You'll have a great time with your family. Some problems with this place are: People are not reminded to shut lights off.

We visited the Speedway to purchase race tickets and parking passes. The service was service. Tiffany discussed all options for purchasing tickets and parking and was very friendly and helpful. After buying our tickets and parking passes, we went up to the sixth floor for lunch and were seated at the window overlooking the Speedway. The service was great and the food delicious. I would highly recommend the Shrimp soup, it was wonderful and loaded with shrimp.

Being a big Formula 1 fan I didn't know what to expect from Nascar but boy what an experience at this sold out event. Very well organised. Got to sit in one of the suites but the real experience was in the pits, garages and of course next to the track during racing.

I have been to Charlotte Motor Speedway only twice but that is enough to know the exhilarating fun that you will find there. I have been in the air conditioned area and in an executive suite. Both experiences were very nice. The food in the Suite is much better. Not to say that the other food is not equally as good. The prices vary depending on where you want to be. Inside or out, though, you can't miss the excitement felt by the entire crowd at the beginning of a race. Every single person is energized by the sound of the roaring engines! It is a goose bump moment! So next time you are in the mood for some real excitement, check out a race at Charlotte Motor Speedway!

Pay a little extra to beat the long line of locals. follow each other (idle) through the lavish light show. tune radio to have the interactive Christmas music and dancing lights. stopped at the infield and walked around the craft booths, rides, snacks and smores by a fire pit.

Decided last minute to go on the track tour and it was great. Guide was an older lady who knew the place like the back of her hand and where else can you have 13 folks in a minivan go to the staging lane and have this lil ol lady floor it down the quarter mile. That was just a warmup for her taking us around 100mph around Charlotte Speedway which was a hoot.
Tour takes about an hour and was well well well worth it

Really enjoyed the Lights. The line was crazy and we couldn’t fast pass due to not being allowed to use mobile pass. The fast pass wasn’t offered at the line so we waited over 3 hours with 4 kids. We will come back next year just come early.

Best dirt track there is. Great racing. Easy to get to. World of Outlaw racing there is the greatest.

We took the "Feel the thrill" Speeway tour on 11/9/17. It took us to the drag strip, dirt track, training track, roval track, go cart road course, and the main speedway. We were able to tour the xfinity, cup & training garages, and stand in victory lane. Our tour bus driver took us 80mph around the track, then stopped on the 24 degree banking to feel the experience-What a thrill! The tour lasted approx 1 hour.

While visiting with friends from the Charlotte area, we decided to do a tour of the Charlotte Motor Speedway.
What fun.
Ray had four spots left in his van and off we go. He took us all over the tracks & yes, there are more than one.
Even though there were special events taking place on the main tack, Ray got us on. What a thrill. At a 24% pitch, you are certain the van will fall over.
Ray explained a lot about the different types of races that take place there and year round events.
Thank you Ray, for a fun outing.

This is a multi track area. Make sure to locate the correct track your attending "before" arriving.
There's many parking lots. Just remember where you parked.

There should, at the very least, be a warning at the entrance of the amount of time you will waste just trying to get in. It is only open 4 hours but took us 3 hours to get in and see some mediocre lights. The idea is great but poorly organized and little communication as to what to expect. I hyped my family up to come and we were all highly disappointed and frustrated by the time we finally got through and out of there...you almost feel trapped in a never ending line of cars...NEVER AGAIN.

Avoid going to the Charlotte Motor Speedway Christmas Lights days before Christmas. We waited over 2hrs just to get to the entrance! Poor planning, should have an option to drive away if you don't want to wait all night. Once we got to the lights they were wonderful just a slow process

Great venue had a business meeting there for caregivers of disabled veterans very clean great views very nice track great location close to the largest mall indoor outlet mall in North Carolina near great restaurant's the food served at the Speedway was great

We traveled to Concord, NC the first time in 2002 and made it an annual vacation every memorial day for three years. It's an amazing racing experience and there is so much to see! We visited Hendrick Motorsports Complex and museum and many other great places over the years.

We have been going to the race for 5 years and we love the race and what they do for the military. I love going there for the race. Great place!!

Went to CMS and took the tour. Our host (Steve) was very knowledgeable and friendly. He took us a lap around the track as well as the road course. Made a run down the drag strip and rode the high banks as well. All in a tour van. Got a photo of our group in Victory Circle. (only $5.00 ea.) Learned a lot about the facility and it's long history.

It has always been my wish to come to this Speedway and it was so exciting. What an amazing facility, I have been to many tracks and this one certainly ranks with the best, as it should being home to Nascar and all!
We could actually see the track from our hotel and there were shuttles, hotel and city both, so have never had such easy access to a track without camping there.
The racing was great too!

We took the "Feel the Thrill Speedway" tour. It was fun to ride around the track at 150 mph. It was interesting to learn a little more about the speedway and the adjoining racing facilities. It gave us a different point of view. Our driver was informative and very pleasant. He even allowed us to go up in the grandstands for a quick look.

We went on Dec 26th after Christmas at 7:30pm. 90 minutes to get in (line started right at entrance but then weaved forever behind the stadium). 60 minutes inside the light show which was a maze of cars going waaaaaay too slow! I used a few of the passing lanes so it would have been more than 60 minutes if I did not. This would be worth it if the line to get in were 15 minutes and the attraction was 25-30 minutes. Don't waste your life. We didn't even stop at the Christmas pavillion. Value your time more.

Best place to see the race. There is something for the whole family. They have a kids zone for the kids and lots to do before the race. Every seat above row 25 you can see around the whole track and don’t go above row 40 unless you want poles in your view.

I have been to several races at CMS and the atmosphere and hospitality make it probably my favorite, but I'd not done the track tour before. For $12, there are senior citizen and military discounts, it was a bargain for the fun we had. I cannot remember our drivers name, but he was so nice and informative but entertaining. This is especially true with the laps on the track, which were absolutely the best part! Don't worry there are seat belts. You see all the tracks and most of the camp grounds at the property as well as the NASCAR track. Also took a spin on a strip at the drag way. The tour took about 45 min and we had plenty of time for pictures at winners circle. I highly recommend this tour!

This was my second trip to the All Star Race and me and my wife sat in New Veranda section. IT IS IN THE SHADE. We loved every minute of it. The new veranda section is a smoke free zone too, but not everyone cares about the rules, so there were a few smokers in the section which sucks but it is what it is.
I love the track and love the area. By far my favorite track. Amenities are great, seats are great. No complaints at all. AWESOME TRACK.

Really enjoyed visiting the track. We took the tour. The trip around the track in the van was great. Our driver was very informative. Well worth the cost

We went on a weekend night before Thanksgiving which was great because it wasn’t crowded. However we had to pay $50 for a large vehicle (though there were only 8 of us), because the Christmas Village was “open”. It was raining and none of the outside activities were open because they said they couldn’t use the power outside in the rain. The “village” consisted of vendors trying to get you to sign up for giveaways (aka, use your info for marketing), a small food court, and photos with Santa (another $10 a photo). What a shame, this could be better, maybe I wouldn’t be so bitter about doling out the money if it hadn’t been raining.

To say disappointed is an understatement.
Maybe if I was back in 5th grade this would have been a treat but for an adult, it is lacking the wow factor.
The Disney Movie Frozen was on the huge LED screen and piped through the car speakers...that was cool...but again, 5th grade.
For $30.00 a car, I would have expected much more.
It's easy to have three million lights on a NASCAR infield, it's how they are displayed that matters.

Had a great day with my wife at the speedway. Incredible service provided by the operators of the speedway.

Had a blast here. The tour is excellent and the pro shop is nicely stocked. The items are fairly expensive but the do have some nice items on clearance.

Our neighbors invited us to the Charlotte motor Speedway for the Christmas lights and it did not disappoint. First of all how neat is it that you get to drive on the same tracks that they race? And there was a Christmas village with food and some shopping. They were playing the movie elf starring Will Ferrell on a big screen. Nice night out!

We visited for the Feel the Thrill tour. I don't really care anything about racing, but my in-laws wanted to go when they were visiting, so we did. It was interesting and fun, especially getting to ride on the track. Overall, it was fun and worth the money.

Lots to see, places to visit. Always a great time at the races with family and friends. Don't miss out on touring NASCAR race shops in the area like Hendricks, Fenway-ROUSCH racing and so many others!

Being from out of town, we had no idea what we were getting into! The posted three hour wait, ended up being four hours. However, if we had known that we would have paid the extra $20 for the fast pass lane. By the time we saw the lights, we weren't into it! The first half was cheesy and the second half was spectacular! I would recommend going, but during an off time.

Charlotte Motor Speedway is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO impressive. It is actually a racing compound. With a dirt racing track; drag racing track; and the speedway track. We spent the weekend for dirt racing. food, as always in a place like that, was expensive and pricing did not quite make sense. But, the staff and other racers and their crews and family are just tremendous. I want to go again for drag racing and speedway track racing.

We went on a Sunday night in early December not expecting a lot of traffic. But it seems many people had the same idea. When planning your visit, check out the website for the Speedway and note that there are four ways you can save $5 for a carload, including AAA Carolinas card. Our fee was $25 without any discounts. It was fun actually being on the track, but at first we were highly disappointed in the light show. All we saw were stationary light displays of fairy tale characters. Even a large lighted sign said, "The End." But as we moved on, we started seeing all kinds of displays synchronized with the music on our radio (at the box office booth they give you the station). It became a much better light show from then on.
We opted out of parking and going to the village though a family with children would probably thoroughly enjoy it. We were directed to the exit road by an attendant and experienced even more displays until we were out of the area. However, the one big foul-up (almost comical) was the road that the "Lights Exit" sign directed us to...right into a big road barrier. So people kept going ahead to the last possible turn. As we started to turn, we noticed people coming back. It was a dead end. We turned around and followed a truck onto another unlit, unmarked road and ended up in a big parking area. But, lo and behold, we made it to an exit somehow! Someone obviously left off the last check mark on his to-do list...opening the exit gate! Come on, Speedway folks, you can do better!!

I really love CMS. There is plenty of parking, the officers that work the races are polite and understand what the fans want and still keep order and traffic moving. Plenty of room inside during races. Special events throughout the year for race fans and non-race fans alike.

Charlotte was one track we had never been to and finally got there. It was great! Went for Memorial day, lynyrd Skynyrd played before the race. It was clean, everybody was very helpful. Had shuttles and free parking. Definitely going back next year!

Took tour, drove onto track , went around courses, got overview of the 8 different tracks and types of races, enjoyed it greatly, surprised that all sites on campgrounds are sold out for next 5 years!!

We toured the 5 tracks watched the driving school a, drive and enjoied it. Oh there is a military discount at the shop, I liked that!

Dinner and free pace car rides it was the high point of the evening. great views of the track and nice surroundings for both drinks and dinner.

Everything was awesome but the pit pass was definitely not worth the extra money we paid. We didn't really get to see anything and it was so congested that it was claustrophobic at times

Charlotte 600 in the Presidential suites was amazing. They just kept bringing out food. Okay you did have to purchase alcohol, but soft drinks were free.
View was great and there was not all the noise normally with you being outside from the cars. but you did feel the power of the engines every time they passed.
Being inside also kept me out of the 90° heat.

First road course at this great track, we were expecting excitement and the track provided. Not our first trip, great venue, plenty of parking but walking is involved ( happens everywhere). Many food options but not as many as past races there, nor were there as many different activities outside the track itself as in the past. The facility is great and well kept, the racing is awesome there every time, as are the pre race activities!

Had to wait for 2.5 hours to get in. Once you get in line, there is no way to turn around. Big disappointment. I would return even if was free or someone paid me. Tourist trap. Stay away.

Being NASCAR fans the tour was a must. Go to the visitor center and get a discount coupon and it's only $10. The tour took us around all three tracks. Lucas Oil drag strip the Dirt track and Speedway. The guid was very knowledgeable about all three and motor sports in general. The laps we did in the van around the track were worth the cost. It really gives you a good perspective of what the drivers go through. 🏁🏁🏁

This is the perfect activity for young and old to view the huge Christmas light display without leaving your car! I highly recommend purchasing ahead of time on line, arrive before 6 pm and spend the extra money on the express pass. There is a separate entrance for express pass and the line moves much faster. The theme of the lights change every year and is synchronized to music on the radio. This year we had people ranging in age from 18 months to 88 years old and everyone enjoys it. There is a drive in Christmas movie playing on the big screen and a Christmas village with food, shops, fire pits even a tubing hill. It’s a fun time!!

Our trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway experience was amazing. It's a must for any race fan. It's not difficult to get to, there are some really nice motels nearby, and during race days, there are some great transportation services available.

Nice visit at one of the top racing venues. Tour facility, and Lunch at the Speedway Club. Beautiful view of the entire track in a fine setting.

We attended the Charlotte speedway for an evening corporate organised event. We had some food, drinks and got a 2lap car experience with trained drivers. The staff at the event and the drivers were really friendly and helpful. I'd recommend going to this cool track for a tour or event if you're in the area.

I did not have anything to do on this evening so I decided I was going to go to the speedway to check out the lights. There were a lot of lights. Some where motion themes, some not and some were really large but all in all it was really nice. You drove all around the race track through the stands and back down to race track it out. I found driving in the track interesting because you could see how high the bank curves are. Seeing them during the race is not the same. Halfway through there was the Village and in the village there was a village like where Jesus came to be born and then there was shops and eating places inside of the building as well. It’s was nice. They even had a jumbo tron that showed Christmas theme movies. The race track does this every year from what I heard.

We attended the "Roval" race. We loved it. Very fan friendly. I have been to many races there....My first race there was October 2001. This is one of my favorite tracks.

Worse time. Waste of money. 1hr to get in, 2 hrs of zig zags.
Save your money and go else where.
Not a great experience

A wonderful lesson in NASCAR/Charlotte history, behind the scenes looks at aspects of the speedway you would otherwise never see, a great tour guide with knowledge and a love of NASCAR. The price is right and the tour was worth every penny!

My class and I took a trip to Charlotte and we visited the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Out of all of the places we visited in Charlotte, this was the most fun, informative, and we all really enjoyed it! I did not know much about NASCAR and the speedways before the tour, so was going in with an opened mind. We were toured in a van around their various speedways and learned about all what goes on at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. The tour guides kept us entertained and knew all of our questions. My favorite part about the speedway tour is when they drove around the track at 70mph in the van. It really gave us a feel of what it would be like to be in a race car. Overall, the tour was great and I highly reccomend it even if you do not think you are too interested in NASCAR or the speedways.

We went as a family of three including a three year old to both races (the shortest and longest races of the year). The parking is to be expected--crowded but manageable. We parked about a mile away (free) and walked right over. There are two pedestrian walkovers which helps. If you have time, visiting the merchandise trailers is fun and experiencing the displays is neat (especially for a child/first time attendee). We got to sit in Martin Truex Jr.'s car and take a picture. If you schedule it right, you can see some driver interviews as well. You can bring your own cooler into the race, to your seats. I just brought snacks and a water bottle for our son due to the hot weather. The concourse has plenty of mediocre/good overpriced food (to be expected). This place is wonderful to people watch. The race is great with seats available at all levels. Afterwards, since everyone is leaving at the same time, it is more hectic but the troopers definitely help move things along as much as possible. We are already planning another trip here in September!
On non-race days, they have a $15 tour that takes you to all the tracks that belong there and into Winner's Circle. It's worth it!

My hubby and I took the speedway tour. Normally, the tour would be in a van with the driver narrating as he/she drove. But with COVID-19, this year's tours were slightly different with participants following the tour van in our own personal vehicles, with our radios tuned to a frequency our guide, Bobette, gave us - THIS WAS MUCH BETTER!! In a van, you can't always get good pictures of things that you just drive by, but in our truck, I could roll down my window and take photos, or my hubby would stop if I wanted a shot from a particular angle. The other part that was much better was driving on the track! While we weren't going racecar speeds, we were able to get up to about 50 miles an hour and get up on the steep angle of the track. Later, we stopped and walked up to the Start/Finish Line and our tour guide took our photos. Bobette also took photos of us in the Winner's Circle. We drove by the Drag Raceway and the dirt track; we drove around the entire property, seeing the helicopter landing pads, by the garage area where we could get out and see some of the cars used for racing school held onsite. Bobette was a great tour guide, and we had a memorable tour with her.

One of the best synchronized music/light shows we've seen. Drive your car on the track while listening to your FM radio and enjoy the show. There is a small "Christmas village" set up in one if the garages to see Santa, grab food, some carnival rides for young children and a restroom break. Then you can sit in your car for a "drive in" style movie played on the big screen. It is a great experience and good family time fun.

For everyone that wants to go to Charlotte speedway to see the lights. First and foremost common sense is free please don't wait for it to go on sale We we're in line for 2 hrs before we actually even got to go in and see the lights. And by that time nobody wanted to even see it anymore. We used more gas waiting in line to get in there then we did to actually drive there and drive back. The lights are always the same they don't change much. The kids had more fun on the way out of the place then actually being in there.I took pictures and those are the only memories that I will have because I will never go back there.I am done. It is not worth the money at all. If they gave me free tickets to get in I still won't be there.Dont waste your time, money or gas.

We drove from NJ for this weekend. On Sat we went to the Xfinity race and had great seats in GM-C section near the finish line. Use sunblock, we got burned here and there even with using it. My review will mostly be about Sunday though. I bought seats in the family section Chrysler-K with a great view only these 4 seats are in the pathway that allows everyone in the lower 25 rows to access their seats. We were pissed off within the first 10 minutes of people making us get up, and it was still 3 hours to race time. On her own, Daphne from Guest Services, came to us and said these seats should not have been sold at all and we couldn't be in them anymore. We were moved one row back (temporarily) and enjoyed the Lynrd Skynrd concert. We were offered seats nearby in the middle of a row but we had front row end seats and we at least wanted end of row seats to take our 6 yr old to the bathroom, etc often during the longest race of the season. Daphne left to deal with other problems and we were removed from our seats again as those ticket holders showed up soon after. We were told not to go back to our original seats but to wait down by the person checking people's bags for alcohol. We did not have seats for about the next hour and missed all the pre-race ceremonies which were supposed to make this a special race for us. After talking to multiple other workers, Daphne finally made it back to us and asked us to please accept upgraded seating but it was on the other end of the seating in Ford-B. They wanted to but could not provide transportation with the crowds and Bob walked us down there. We literally got to our seats and were just able to take pictures as the race went green for lap 1. The view was great but the evacuation rain storm was unfortunate along with the red flag for about 90 mins or more. We had experienced this at last year's Bristol night race but that was much worse. Unfortunately, most people in our section did not seem to belong there and as people cleared out for the rain delay more people were moving into the seats around us and we know they didn't belong in those seats. The racing wasn't all that good because after the restarts, the top 5 would separate from the rest and nobody could really catch them. There was passing of the other cars though, depending on who you watched. Since the race went until after midnight, we had a tired 6 yr old and we had to drive 600 miles the next morning, we made our way toward the exit with 10 to go and wanted to return our scanner rental and be ahead of much of the traffic. We knew Austin Dillon won but didn't get to enjoy seeing it. I purposely studied the traffic maps as this was our 8th track visited but the police did not have the plan that the map showed so many of us had to make u-turns to be able to head out toward Rt. 85. On Sat, we were able to pull out of lot U and turn left but the police forced a right turn on Sunday. Food prices are high, we bring all the drinks and snacks we can to help out.

Wow. I don't mind spending $$$ to eat out, but damn, give me some food! Spent WAY too much and still walked away hungry. Very small meals (VERY! small) No, never going back and will NOT recommend to anyone.

Go to Xtreme Experience which is a traveling place that you get to ride in supercars.

Love love love this place!!! the people are so friendly and there’s so much to do for race week my favorite thing about Charlotte Motor Speedway is the people that volunteer to drive the golf carts and take you wherever you need to go please give them tips because every dime that they get goes to the children’s charity !!!

I have a LOVE / HATE relationship with CMS. Having been in and around CMS for many, many years, I feel like I have seen and done quite a bit. Even as far as being injured during a race, as a spectator, and having to deal with the track's insurance claims representative. What a mess. As always - you're the one in the wrong. Poor, poor system in place to deal with serious spectator issues. Most of the volunteer ushers could care less about what's going on.
We were in a condo when there was a race rain out and contacted the ticket office the next day if we could switch our VIP tickets over to Grandstand admission since the condo we were in would not be reopening. I was told yes, absolutely. I immediately headed for the ticket office when I refused to be transferred over to Grandstand tickets. Wow, really CMS!?
Like I said, I have been all over the map at CMS attending several different races and functions over the years. Overall experiences: Some good. Some bad. They do a great job partnering with American Red Cross for the "Laps for Life" September 11 memorial blood drive, allowing race fans to drive their cars on the track and receive race tickets in exchange for a blood donation.
The Summer Shootout is a fun time to watch some racing on the bullring quarter mile on the front stretch watching young up-and-comers as well as some washed up 'ol veteran racers. Those events are very fan friendly and they try to involve the young race fans all the time.
They offer several options to enjoy race day, all based on your budget. You can go in to the garage area, sit in The Speedway Club, or several suite areas. The general seating areas are also based on your budget as well. The food options are diverse and typically affordable, compared to a NFL stadium - but can still be pricey! The good thing about NASCAR-sanctioned facilities is you can pack a cooler within track size limits to bring in your own beverages as well as any other snack or food items you desire to consume. A lot of first time fans don't know this! I love seeing their reaction when you teach them that little nugget about motorsports venues!
As far as race day parking, track property parking is typically free. Anything outside of the track property could incur a small parking fee.
This area is known for a high number of DUI charges. YOU SHOULDN'T BE DRINKING AND DRIVING ANYWAY! SHAME ON YOU. I was nabbed and pulled out to perform the DUI circus tricks while trying to leave the All-Star Race. Passing, of course, because I was fine. (I didn't have my headlights on - only my truck fog lights as were doing less than 3mph in the parking lot not going anywhere... that was a sign to them I was drunk)
Anywho.... Away from the racing schedule you can do a NASCAR ride-a-long or driving experience! Or you can buy a CMS tour and check out the entire facility.

Xtreme Xpereience I was extremely disappointed. Showed up 1 hour before my 9:30 time and didn't get to drive until 12pm. Waiting in line for almost 4 hours is not acceptable and extremely poor organization.

Took my honey since he’s a NASCAR fan and had never been to a real track. We took the van tour and it was fabulous, especially the laps around the track with our van driver, Speedy! Highly recommend even if not a nascar fan like me😉!

The tour was amazing and our guide was very informative and drove us around to all 3 tracking systems going down the drag strip, tour of the infields. Drove through a couple different track setups at the Speedway. She had driving skills and was not afraid to push it and give us all a good thrill. She was able to get us into areas not usually open to tours. Clearly showed us the pros and cons of the driver pits and garage and actually pleasantly surprised us with a hard left and abrupt stop in the boundaries of a pit. There wasn't much going on so pretty much had the whole place to ourselves. Rate this better than the Daytona Tour

We enjoyed our 3 days at the speedway. While we had rain all 3....the speedway was clean and eas to get around.

We were here for the weekend to attend Carolina Rebellion. The show was great. Parking was so far away though. And the stages were setup way too far apart and they were angled up which was a disadvantage for us short people. Security was very lax they did nothing more than look in the top of everyone's bag.

I took a good friend who traveled across country to go to this race. We were pleased with the availability of close parking ($20) near the track (she's disabled) and ride to the gate. Standing in a extremely slow long line to get headphones/video was horrible. The tv's weren't on so we could watch the beginning of the race which was disappointing. We got seated and enjoyed watching the race. Several people around us were becoming extremely intoxicated which was disheartening. A severe weather threat caused us to seek shelter on the concourse below which was a nightmare. My friend was very upset as it was wall to wall people. Some were so intoxicated, lighting cigarettes (I'm allergic and my friend dislikes it immensely. People were pushing and rude, spilling beer and whatever on me and her as we tried to move to a safer location away from the drunks and smokers lighting up in the midst of wall to wall people, certainly a hazard. There were no people directing or helping anyone. It was awful. Prior to walking down to the concourse a young woman who kept walking by us fell over on me and almost hurt herself badly. I caught and broke her fall. Why are people allowed to get so intoxicated at these events so that they are a danger to themselves and others I can't understand. We left.

As newbies to NC and NASCAR, we took the track tour to check it out. It was awesome. Got to ride on the real, steep pitched track, tho in a tour van; also raced on the drag track. I didn't realize how many tracks were on this campus. Tour was cheap and about 45 minutes. Good for all ages. A lot of fun!

So much to do...great camping sites, great experience at the track...tours, museums, including a great train museum one block away. Racetrack is actually in Concord, NC, great town for family visit.

The bus tour is amazing and a great value. Our tour guide was a real gearhead - knowledgeable, entertaining, and fun. We took the van to the IMAX 4-wide drag strip and even put the van through the 1/4 mile! Then on to the small oval track. Lastly on to the big track, where everything was shown and explained in great detail. And a high-speed 3-lap trip around the track for good measure.
The tour was supposed to be an hour but we were having so much fun it was stretched to about an hour and a half.
Then on to a wonderful lunch in the Speedway Club. Elegant, great food, reasonably priced. And what a view!

Wow....What a Tour!!!! We had a one hour tour of the different speedways at Charlotte NC it was Fabulous!! There is also a two hour tour, I would love to take that tour if I I’m here again. We took laps on the track in our tour van, went down on pit row, and to the winners circle. Raced along side the dragster race track...our driver could make his van MOVE!! Learned about their STEM Program for students and driver training classes for teenagers.

Had a blast!! Went for a tour and had dinner!! Great food and drinks and the tour was off the change

Avoid at ALL cost! We bought tickets for a Sunday night to do a Covid friendly holiday activity. It turned out to be an extremely frustrating and ridiculous experience. It took 2 HOURS to even make it into the speedway and that was WITH the express pass. If you don’t have the express pass you are led to yet another parking lot to zigzag around for another hour. It was insane! People were getting out of their cars to use the restroom, let their kids run around and stretch their legs. Once you enter you are stuck, you can’t leave. It was a horrible and extremely frustrating experience. Once you actually made it into the speedway the lights are neat. There are some fun displays. However, it was once again bumper to bumper cars. Around the movie area we sat still for 15 minutes waiting for cars to merge into/out of the movie lot. My two children were begging for it to be over. By the end we were in the car for THREE hours and were celebrating to finally leave. Shame on the Speedway for not limiting the number of cars allowed each night. Instead of making it a nice experience they packed as many cars as they could into the event and made it miserable.

Lowe's(it will always be Lowe's to me now) is your basic 1.5 race track that was changed to a "roval" for the sprint(luckily i didn't say Winston ) cup series. the tour gives you an insight into the operations of a race day and if there aren't any on-track activities you will be given a ride along on the track. parking for the tour is good. a gift shop is located at teh entrance

Wow! So many lights! It was beautiful. My 3 year old loved how many times Santa bumped his head. The syncing of the music was quite special too. We’ll definitely be back. My mother in law said the creators have a great sense of humor!

On a lark, we decided to take a tour of the speedway even though we are not racing fans. It was quite interesting and fun. It's about an hour, and you tour the drag racing and dirt/motor bike tracks along with the big one. Your driver takes you around the track twice (in a van, so not top speed LOL) but the 24-degree embankments on the turns is cool. Getting to know a little about the place was interesting. Alot of money invested where there's only a couple of races during the season. It was more interesting to learn about their Christmas light display and huge flea events.

This is the place to be to experience the Coca Cola 600. Five-plus hours of racing, pre-entertainment, tailgating, and MORE. The large monitor is really something. Our seats consisted of shade. Bathrooms are located within close proximity. You may bring your own food and beverages. You gave to be able to climb the stairs. Smoking is tolerated.

You can check in anytime, but you can never leave! It felt like we were in line forever. If you change your mind, don't even think of trying to leave. It was well over 4 hours and the lights were mediocre, at best. Probably spent $20 in gas for the endless wait. Save your money and time, go elsewhere.

Went to the All star race with family and had a blast! If you drive there, be prepared for lots of traffic and long waits to leave the parking lot. We were lucky enough to stay in a nearby hotel so we were shuttled to the track and walked back to the hotel afterwards.

Last year we stopped here and only peeked out at the track - didn't do the tour. This year we decided to do a tour. We were the only two people on the tour when we went. Our tour guide / driver was Chris. He was very educated about everything to do with Charlotte Motor Speedway and all the tracks that are part of that. Chris drove us over to the Drag Racing strip - very unique - where most Drag Races are just two cars at a time - this track races 4 cars at a time. He gave us a great deal of information and history. Then he showed us the kids race track and a dirt track before going to the main NASCAR track - the round track and the roval. He drove us on the tracks - even at a higher rate of speed up the incline (higher for a van...) It was amazing how much of a bank there is on the track! He showed us the pits and garages and where the camping is done. We also saw the giant TV where the races are shown during the races. He told us about the beginning drivers classes they give to kids learning to drive & show them how to manipulate the car when in certain driving situations. What a great idea - all kids should have to go to this class. The charge for this 1 hour tour was $10 each (55+ years old). It was well worth it. We had a great time!

Regional attraction. Over 200K come for major races. CocaCola 500. Bank of America 500. Annual Christmas Lights Show.

Love Charlotte Motor Speedway. Races for every fan, lots to see and do. Tours are very good. Great gift shop. Ball rooms to rent for special occasions, club seating. Something for every race fan.

Took the kids to see the monster trucks at the dirt track at Charlotte Motor Speedway. They do the event each year right before school starts up again. It was a great event - got to see the trucks before they went on the track. You can bring in your own coolers of food and drink. Overall fun evening.

This was a great place to visit! Very clean and easy to navigate around! Glad we were able to visit and hope to come back in the future!

I nicely asked the man at the ticket booth for a 2nd brochure for our out of town friends in the back seat. He responded in a very sarcastic way. I feel it was a completely inappropriate way to respond. He is Certainly not in the spirit of the holidays !
We know we will enjoy showing our friends the lights however It was not a good way to start the night. !

The view from above and practice runs give promise of an exciting view of a great NASCAR race. At least it looks different having a road course in a circle track. Seen views from above setting in turn one area should give a complete view of the road course and best view.

We arrived to Speedway traffic a few minutes after 6pm on a Thursday night. Made it to the ticket both around 8pm then continued to follow a maze thru the parking lot until we entered the speedway at 9:50. The lights were great and our boys enjoyed driving on the track but I wish we would have known how long the wait was going to be. I would recommend the $20 upgrade for the “fast pass”.

My first NASCAR race with my die hard son and husband. We actually went to the Coco Cola 500 in October 2014. Not sure why it was not posted. This track is awesome. From start on Thursday evening to Sunday race day. We had the best time. So much to see and do all around the track inside and out. Plenty of parking. I wore my beloved Ernie Irvan # 4 Kodak Car T and got lots of happy comments as he is long retired.
It was a fabulous weekend and am so glad I got to experience this with my son and my beloved.

First Nascar race as we came for the Sammy Hagar concert which was amazing. He is awesome. The ROVAL was really great. Loved the road course. Great place with great food and very economical. My 11 year had the best time of his life! So many things for the kids to do. Great to be able to bring in a cooler. Must bring ear plugs as it is very loud. Will be back for sure.

Our family stopped and toured the facility (we bought tickets online.) Kenny was the driver of the van that took us to all 7 race tracks on their 2,000 acre facility. We were even able to take 2 laps at speed on the main track! What a thrill! The tour was informative and fun! Enjoy the gift shop while you're there too...plenty to choose from!

This was recommended by our hotel staff, and it was well worth the drive and visit. The kids and us of course truly enjoyed the Christmas light show they have at the track. We visited New Yrs eve and it was Awesome. What a great idea to do this. I highly recommend doing this if you visit the Charlotte area during the holidays. It was cool how they did the light show with the music, which you listen to in your car. Worth every cent of the 20bucks per car we spent. Will do it again if we make it up to Charlotte. Thanks
Mike B and Family

If you didn’t know, you can actually tour the facility - there are several different tour packages to choose from. Our guide/driver had been doing the tours for several years and really seemed to enjoy where he worked. The gift shop is stocked with favorites and the memorabilia is nice to see. My kids (9 and 13) enjoyed getting a ride on the race track.

Zmax dragway is a awesome facility in the NHRA circuit. Burton Smith thought of everything. The entire staff were friendly and accommodating. Loved the 4 WIDE!

What a great event and speedway. Lot's of options for food and drinks. Many activities to do pre race. Rent the video scanner is a must. They are great.
Great place for the whole family

We visited for the Sunday race and had the most wonderful time. The staff at this speedway are so kind. When TicketMaster locked us out of our account with no customer service support we visited the will call window and the event staff found and printed our tickets with no issue at all. We will be back again!

Honestly, there were some parts of this show that were super cool. I liked that the lights moved to the music, however I wish they had some more recent tunes.
Lowkey, the lights are super underwhelming when you first drive in. There’s so many on top of one another that it makes them all hard to distinguish. Maybe they’re could put backs on the lights? I’m not sure how to fix that. The drive was quite long so certainly worth the $20, but I’d rather just use the Bristol motor speedway one. The lights are laid out better, and there’s attractions to get out and do in the middle.

We stayed all weekend. So much to do and see at the track. Camp out at the track if possible, makes for one long weekend of tailgating! Bring the grill and your favorite drink

My husband went to the race track this past weekend and had a blast. It was his first time going and he really enjoyed his experience. I'm sure he will be back with his friends again soon.

We visited here while on vacation. We stopped in the one day to watch the drivers testing the ROVAL for Septembers race. It was free. Had a great time!
Another day we came to take a tour of the track. Prices are very reasonable. 2 adults, 1 child was $34.
They have vans you go on the tour in. Our track driver was great! Knowledgeable, funny, all around nice guy. He made it so much fun!
We enjoyed it so much!
Thank you Charlotte Motor Speedway for making our vacation a great time!!

This race track is always first class, however we have been going to the Coca Cola 600 for about 15 years. I understand that time and things change. Well this place has changed quit a bit. It is just not the track, but the outside atmosphere, to activities to do with family and other Nascar related things. A Lot of sponsorship has dwindled along with the trailers outside the track.
Although my seats are awesome. Start/finish line 37-40 rows up on the aisle. This year was by far one of the worst. I was always up and down letting people in/out. It was so frustrating to watch a race.
We had a rain delay during the event and the track concourse held everyone, but it was very crowded. The track had alot of dryers for the track. They worked really hard to get the track dried. I think it was about 2 hours for them to complete the drying and that was great.. I was happy that I stayed and watched the ending of the race.
I do like the fact that they have great respect for the arm forces. The pre race show always involves the arm forces and I think that is such a great thing.
If you like Nascar and want to see a race, try to get here to watch one..

Took the Charlotte Motor Speedway tour, this past week. It was only 12.00, 10.00 if you're a senior or Military Vet. We got to go down the Drag races in a Van, and around the Speedway in a Van. It would have been better in a fast car, but for 12.00 bucks it was fun. They let us out in the winner circle and took a few pics. Only takes about 45 minutes to an hour.

We surprised our son with a day trip to see the Christmas lights at the speedway. My husband purchased the $50 express pass which got us in quicker and since we were there at 5:30 PM, we were able to park right up front for “Home Alone”. Once the movie was over, we continued to drive through the light show. My husband and son are huge race fans and loved being on the track, seeing the banking, and driving on the roval. Definitely worth the price we paid. We will make this a tradition from now on!

I purchased a $40 Fast Pass which wasn’t needed last night. This is certainly worth the entrance fee. Food Court just OK. The added rides, petting zoo, etc are all extra $ which was a surprise. I may be wrong, but I read the available information to say that they were included in the admission. Anyway, the younger kids loved it. Especially the Jurassic Park bouncy outside.

My first visit to Charlotte Motor Speedway and I was impressed from my first glance when arriving in parking lot. I am a veteran of many racing facilities and Charlotte is definitely a high ranker. Adequately staffed, many concession options, comfortable seating with lots of legroom, well maintained. There was nothing that made me say. “I don’t want to return here”. My gratitude to the management of this fine facility.

My first dirt track race at this compound — WOW! What a fantastic experience! Parking was simple if you arrive enough in advance. Signage made sense in terms of finding our seats, and concessions were expensive, but only a quick walk from anywhere in the stands. Noise level is tolerable without ear plugs when compared to NASCAR...just bring your goggles because the dirt not only flies, it pelts, rains, and blankets you! Have fun!

very disappointed, went to see a light show not a movie, last time we went music on radio was timed to the dancing lights which was awesome,

This was my third time going to the race in Charlotte North Carolina and it has gotten better when it comes to parking. The first time I went I drove around looking for the free parking. Seems like a few extra signs for parking. It felt like they had less vendors this year then in past years.
Recommend the restaurant- good food (evening)- unique venue
Food was superb, traveled for business, not much to see out on the inactive speedway but was an interesting venue for a change. Had a large group. Shuttle taken from Embassy Suites to venue.
