This lake is so pretty with some amazing homes on both sides of the lake. Glacier-fed lake so it's chilly lol. Worth the trip!

Lovely lake front. Saw pontoon planes and many boats in marina, but none on open water at sunset. Pedestrian and bike friendly. Many restaurants and shops. Drove around surrounding residential neighborhoods. Saw several remodels. Seems to be active real estate market. Nice place for vacation home or retirement, but expect very cold winters.

We were visiting in Spokane and decided to take a trip to Idaho. We saw the sign for the scenic byway around Coeur d’Alene Lake and decided to take it. The scenery was amazing and the drive was great. A little longer than we expected and lots of twists, turns, and hills. It was really worthwhile because of the beautiful views.

If you've never seen lake coeur d'alene, it's worth the trip if traveling nearby. Gorgeous lake.....year round. Great downtown area with lake views, walking trails, restaurants and shops. Absolutely beautiful area.

It takes about 1 hour and a half or longer to go all the way around the lake. Gorgeous lake, view of lake houses, not to curvy . It let’s you see/know where it is windy, marinas, docks that are taken out for winter, sunset etc. Must put in your list to do

We don't own a boat, but when another local offered to take us out in his newly acquired boat we jumped at the chance. Going slow gives some amazingly pretty forest scenery right up close and personal. Hint: Go in winter before the summer tourist season for a nice quiet lake surface. Don't forget the wildlife, especially birds. Bring a camera with a medium to long telephoto lens.

My friend and I rented a 25’ Cobalt power boat at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and toured the lake by water. There were so many things to see from the infamous floating golf green, multimillion dollar mansions, mountains, etc.. We spent four hours touring the entire 25 mile long lake and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There were many other boats however not crowded at all. We enjoyed ourselves so much that the following day we hired a fishing charter outfit and were right back out on the water. We’ll certainly be back.

Beautiful surroundings, courteous fellow boaters, and a wonderful experience we cannot wait to repeat. We would have liked to have explored more but thunder/lightning moved in and we had to cut the boating trip short.

My wife and daughter loved it. Tons to do for small kids and a lot of free activities. Would not go in the winter, but in the summer lots is going on. The scenery is stunning.

The lake is amazing and the cycling is incredible! We stayed at a condo near the lake and could walk everywhere.

We hiked on Tubbs Hill, and also rented a power boat to explore the lake. Did a sunset dinner cruise, too. Absolutely beautiful!

This is one of the prettiest places I’ve been. There are parks, walking trails, beaches, lots of families and dogs.

What a gorgeous day on the lake. If you're anywhere near CDA a must do is to walk the boardwalk near the CDA resort. A certain stress melter.

Great two hour excursion and dinner. Saw many of the sights folks like on the lake. The large boat covered most of the portion of the lake in the city area and the surrounding resort past the famous golf course.

A very nice and awesome place to visit. Attending a wedding at the Hitching Post and then to Coeur d'Alene Lake for pics and cruise around the lake. A very wonderful place to visit for family and friends gatherings. Beautiful fall colors that time of year.

The lake is a must-see for all. It can be viewed several ways; great for outdoor types to explore. or visit refined Resort for a view over a cocktail. The lake is HUGE, much bigger than we thought!

Many year round activities available for boating, fishing, and enjoyment. Christmas light displays is like a memory book photo starting day after Thanksgiving.

Visited with my teens (15 and 17) at the end of September. Near the lake, the parking is all paid parking. We found a spot on the street downtown for free 2 hour parking. This was fine for end of Sept, but I could imagine in the summer there wouldn’t be much free street parking available. We were hoping the water sports (paddle boards and jet skis) would still be available but I can see why they aren’t, the water was extremely refreshing! The “sand” is gravel for anyone with small kids wondering. But once in the water the sand bottom is nice. There are bathrooms right there too. We walked on the floating boardwalk and then along with path towards the university. The trees and scenery were all so pretty. It was a quiet, zen, beautiful 2 hours. Then we got hungry and were hoping for lunch in a patio somewhere near the water but we couldn’t find anything close! There are 2 pier pub type places but no restaurants nearby that we could see that had patios. If there are any, they need to get listed on iPhone maps so they are searchable. We ended up driving back to Olive Garden for lunch. I would recommend visiting! 2 hours end of Sept was plenty for us.

Went on a boat tour around the lake and on a couple jet skis and the kids played on the beach and had a blast

Coeur d'Alene Lake is a large and beautiful summer haven. During the week, the lake is not very crowded, so getting outa on a boat for tubing, skiing and swimming is very easy and fun to do. The lake is very scenic and has many bays to tour and drop anchor. We rented a speed boat from Coeur d'Alene Resort. Convenient and lots of new boats and wave runners to choose from. The weekend is crazy as should be expected for a popular and accessible lake in the summer.

What a fantastic place to visit with family. Lots to do and see. Locals are terrific! We rode bikes, rented a boat and found a great meat market outside of town - Tim's Meat Market in Post Falls.

Absolutely lovely lake! We came here on a weekday, rented a boat for the day, and the best time. The lake is massive and plenty of room to move about. It is also warmer then I thought it was going to be and very very refreshing! It might just be my favorite lake that I have ever spent time on. The views around are just beautiful. I would say it was worth the drive to get here and I would come again.

Lake CDA is large and has multiple public places to access the water, including a large beach and beautiful hill to hike around right downtown. Summer weekends the lake can get fairly busy, especially the afternoons. When the winds kick up, also generally in the afternoons, the water can get a bit rough. You can rent motor boats, jet skis, kayaks paddleboards thru multiple businesses in town, with delivery to you at the lake.

the CdA lake is fairly big, and has its busy and quiet spots. it is still chilly in early May, but flowers are already blooming
it claims to host the longest floating boardwalk in the world, near the the CdA Resort.
a short distance away from here is Tubbs Hill, where you can hike up to the summit ridge in 15 min.
but my favorite section of the lake is at CdA Parkway State Park, which has the Centennial trail running alongside the road. the terminus of this trail is Higgins Point.
if you have time, you can continue driving to Mineral Ridge Scenic Area, where there is a 3.3 mile trail up to the top that gives you a bird eye view of the lake. the sun can be unforgiving in mid day even in May so i recommend doing this hike first thing in the morning.
after that, the road (Route 97) continue to wind around the lake, getting more and more rural, until it reaches Harrison.

Lake Coeur d'Alene is a treasure. We hiked Tubb’s Hill trail, which offered beautiful views of the water and swimming beaches along the way. Be sure to take a stroll on the floating boardwalk at the marina. There is so much to do in this quaint, resort town, especially if you like water sports.

Best in the Northwest! Good fishing, lots of Kokanee Salmon and Chinook Salmon to be had here. Boat launch access points are a bit limited and get very busy in the summer time. If your going to fish, be sure to launch in early morning.

We had a lovely two-day stay in CDA! Trail walks, kayaking, and picnic dinners (Cosmic Cowboy makes FANTASTIC food!)

This large lake has sweeping views from each direction. Every outdoor activity is available. People are friendly and helpful.

Rent a boat or have someone take you out to this spectacular lake with the bluest water and views! So relaxing with amazing scenery:)

Travel to south end to harrison and stay left of town following bouys to river. down that river you will find a few nice quiet lakes and tanning spots. Many marina and food options on the water and the town has public doc paid parking and many craft/home made food options. We rented a condo for 20 days could have stayed all summer.

Enjoyed walking on the longest floating boardwalk and taking in the views of tour boats and seaplanes

This pristine lake sits on the edge of the beautiful town. With ample facilities and several local businesses taking advantage of services for or around the lake it's a beautiful destination.

From the great resort, to the lake and an incredible golf this is a must see place to see. Our first time and knew very little about. Wow. Boating e=was great, lake beaches and golf course with a locating that you have to take their little boat to get to the green. Weather perfect. Can’t wait to go back.

This is an amazing part of the world with some much to offer fab views, hotel is stunning and the boardwalk is a must

Whenever I come TDY to Spokane, I make a side trip to Lake Couer d'Alene. This time was no different as I came here with a work colleague and his wife. It was a sunny and warm Sunday afternoon, perfect for taking a walk along the world's largest floating dock. I even got to see a seaplane takeoff this time. What a fun place!

Grew up on Beautiful Lake Coeur d' Alene at my uncle's cabin on the lake in summers. Now, decades later, this is my home! Jet ski it all summer long. Nothing like it in the world....

By our standard, this is a huge lake to navigate. However, it is not scary or as big as the Great Lakers in Chicago. Lots of things to do at the lake although we just sat down in front of the lake contemplate the beauty of nature. We used to have these sceneries in California lakes until they became dry, brownish and threatened by Global Warming.

We had the cruise with dinner and enjoyed the peace ride. love it. We had a good scenic to see any beautiful while ride on the cruise.

We were fortunate enough to stay right outside Coeur d'Alene Park for our Half Ironman race on June 24 so were able to enjoy the lake several times - including swimming 1.2 miles in it on Race Day! It's clear, clean and beautiful. We definitely want to return and take in other activities on the lake such as boating, SUPing, etc. It's a beautiful sight!

One of the nicests places in Idaho if you are wanting a beautiful lake, lots of shops, and plenty of people.

50 years ago, I would have given C'da Lake 5 stars. Today, with all the development, homes going up on the lake shore, Paying to launch your boat, paying to PARK, I can only give 2 stars Max.

Great tourist town with quaint shops and great little food stops with patios!! Highly recommend spending a day or two exploring downtown and taking a beautiful walk.

awesome park and small hiking (Tubbs Hill), Fenced dog park available and splash pad! Lots of space and walking paths

Love walking around this lake. Lots of great places to see. The lake is always a bbn place that makes me smile. I wished we would have been on a boat but it was a little cold for that after the snow fall.

Drove around a lot to get great photos! Different parts of the lake offer amazing interesting view. Also good for boating, hiking, etc. Plenty of trails.

It was great to see families just jump right into the water. We walked along the shore and had a great evening near the lake.

The lake has so much to offer. The lake side park in downtown Coeur d'Alene is clean and really offers nice family fun. Boat excursions are available, and exploring the lake by any boat is an absolute visual treat. Take the Harrison scenic byway for a multitude of viewing pleasure of the lake, associated coves, and some terrific lakefront homes. Harrison has boat docks, a couple of quaint restaurants, and a well known bar called One Shot Charlies. Saint Maries is another town accessible from the lake. And it offers some fun shops, etc. too. Water skiing is always great, and when the sun shines, the smiles shine, too. Cheers.

Talk about MAJESTIC! This lake I’ve been going to for the past 9 years and every time I go it’s like a new experience! Summer is absolutely breathtaking and fabulous. Always great to do VRBO vs Hotel but CdA Resort is pretty awesome except for the fact they have become not so friendly for kids which is a HUGE disappointment.

Beautiful lake with lots os activities, seaplanes, party boats, boat tours and beach activities. Nice!!

I suspect anytime of year is wonderful to visit this lake - the snowy scene early Sunday morning was sparkly and special. Recommended for a wander.

We visited Coeur d'Alene over a long weekend in October. The boat trip around the lake was delightful, the hosts at the wine tasting shop downtown were friendly and generous, and the shops were pleasant if unremarkable.

Beautiful, huge lake. We took a 2-hour cruise and it was totally worth it. Learn a little about this gem in Idaho, and it was our first time in Idaho.

Cruising across Idaho from Montana to Washington state this was a wonderful lunch break. WE had some problems finding good direction signs coming and going but we realized a lake is down at the bottom of the mountains!
The boardwalk around the marina is a neat way to see the lake without taking a day boat tour. WE enjoyed the clear water and joy that the boaters got out of using it.

Coeur d'Alene Lake is so fresh and beautiful! We spent the day appreciating its beauty from different vantage points. Kudos to those who maintain the public access!

The Centennial trail in Spokane, Washington and the Coeur d'Alene rail trails offer some of the most picturesque easy bicycle riding to be found anywhere. Thest trails meander through the countryside along the lakes and streams for quiet enjoyment as you ride. Also, the ride across the railroad bridge over Lake Coeur d'Alene is another nice adventure. While you are in the area, don't miss a chance to do the Hiawatha trail that features going through several tunnels and crossing over some spectacular old railroad trestles on your way down the trail..

Spent the day on the lake on a friends leisure boat , stopping off at restaurants and motoring on down the Coeur d'alane river. Saw Osprey and other wildlife. Very peaceful way to spend the day.

Its a beautiful lake. There is a floating boardwalk that you can walk around the marina. There is also a little bar/kiosk that you can grab a drink for your stroll. I would recommend Sex on the Boardwalk, very refreshing! There are lots of small beach areas along all parts of the lake. Downtown there is a place to rent paddle boards, kayaks, and paddleboards. There is also parasailing and a variety of cruises.

Taking a ride on the tour boat was informative and a nice way to learn about the lake while enjoying the area.

My friends and I loved visiting this beautiful lake with a well maintained park. We’d definitely come again!

Higgins Point never disappoints, from the great hiking trails, to searching for Bald Eagles, we always find some hiding in the trees.

North Idaho's winters are long, generally with some serious snow, and its summer are short (usually June - October). But they are the best sort of summers in all respects, being warm, sunny, and perfect for all of the many out of doors activities that beautifully pine forested area has. And then there are the area's many very accessible lakes and streams, ideal for boating, swimming, and fishing. Coeur d'Alene Lake is one of the finest of those bodies of water in North Idaho, over 20 miles long and averaging 3 miles wide, with plenty of boat sales, repairs and sale of accessories, fishing supplies, and a variety of accommodations and restaurants readily available to the visitor or local, right on or near the lake's beautiful north shore in the friendly town of Coeur d'Alene. We lived in there, on the banks of the nearby Spokane River, for many years and can highly recommend the area to either visit or live, assuming the long snowy and somewhat dark winters don't get you down. If they don't, you will also find several good ski resorts in the area to keep you entertained until another bright and warm summer returns once again.

We have visited many times and each time gets better. I love the place, I love the people...and never miss Hudson's burgers!!! I love the area!

We spent a few days in early July at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and got to see and experience this beautiful place in depth. It’s so gorgeous and so much fun. The Resort is outstanding in every respect and we got to ride e-bikes, segways and jet skis- the first two of which were first-time experiences for us. The July 4th celebration and fireworks show has to be experienced to be believed. Highly recommend CDA- we didn’t want to leave!

Used to be a Great Lake for boating but now it’s just a giant washing machine with tourists on boats that know no etiquette. Sad how it’s changed. Stay off the water for your own safety

90 minute boat tour. Interesting facts and history of the lake. Extremely hot up on top when there was no wind. Expensive drinks can be purchased. Felt like I was on a time-share talk as we went by the resort golf course, condos (listing all the amenities), and private beach.

Spent the day here and found the lake to beautiful! We were on the north end where there is a large marina with a really long boardwalk and a beautiful park as well. The surrounding area has lots of restaurants and small shops. There are also hiking trails, lake rentals, and charters. Great place to spend an afternoon or a few days!

One of the most beautiful, peaceful spots in the Northwest. Streets are laid out to fit the shoreline and can be confusing. A great place to walk around the lake or in the downtown core. During summer tourist season make motel/hotel reservations well in advance. Many of the places that interested me in July were booked two weeks in advance.

I work for NIC and love the view of the lake right outside of the building I work at. One of the most beautiful places I’ve been.

Coeur d’Alene Lake is one of the most picturesque spots in the state of Idaho. My experience with the lake was centered around 18 holes of golf at the resort course, but every glimpse I got of the water was worthy of a photo. Simply a beautiful place that will be etched in my memory.

An absolutely stunningly beautiful lake! I have traveled extensively and have never seen such pure and clean freshwater lake so well enjoyed by many.

This lake is beautiful, huge and so much to see and do. Harrison boat rentals have boats and water crafts to rent and will deliver to the resorts. Tubs Hill is a great place to hike and do cliff jumping. Awesome Park. It’s a long time to make a complete drive around the lake so unless you pack a meal and have 3-4 hours to drive around I suggest you ask the locals were to go and what to see. Swimming is great at Independence Beach/College. I highly recommend Wolf Lodge Restaurant, Carlin Bay Restaurant, the many trails available to enjoy. Download a free app AllTrails.com and it will inform you of anything and everything. The best part of the Lake is December their January when the Eagles are out. Just amazing.....

It is best to visit during the week. The weekend brings lots of lake traffic. The natural beauty of Norht Idaho can not be matched anywhere in the norhtwest.

This is a beautiful lake but if you're not going to "outdoor" activities, I found there really wasn't much else to do/see. The "downtown" area is just a couple blocks of shops & restaurants and we covered them very quickly. Summer might be better so check the city calendar for activities before you go.

Loved the view of the lake. Was a awesome park to sit in and enjoy the view. Visitor center was very helpful.

I didn't expect much of this lake during our winter visit; it is, after all, marketed almost entirely on the basis of its summer attractions. But after a four-day midweek stay at the Coeur d'Alene Resort in December, my wife and I learned to appreciate the lake in several ways. It's simply lovely to look at, as is earth's water in all of its forms. The wake of a few boats created outward-expanding ripples that shimmered in the light of a low sun, looking much like a contemporary abstract painting. And the lake supported diverse wildlife, ranging from hovering insects to ducks, geese, seagulls, and other avian species, highlighted by the magnificent December-only appearance of hundreds of our nation's great treasure, the bald eagle. We--without even hiking into the forest--were entertained for hours as a variety of baldies perched high in the evergreens, eventually swooping along the lake's surface to snag the kokanee salmon that provide nutrition essential for the eagles' migration south. That treat alone made our journey to the lake worthwhile.

Great area with lots to do for families. Wonderful water, park and environment. Definitely will be back!

Came because previous reviews not disappointed , brisket was amazing as well as sides , very friendly service!!

We come here every year while in Coeur d’Alene. The eagles were so plentiful today. They entertained by diving for fish. They are truly beautiful birds. Great trails to hike.

I have lived in Coeur D Alene my entire life. The lake is our greatest treasure. As I have seen the area grow the lake remains a beauty for everyone to enjoy. Things to enjoy at the lake are, fishing ,swimming, kyaking, and camping to name a few.

The lake has a nice bike path around it. We borrowed a couple bikes and rode several miles before turning around. I understand you can ride all the way around if ambitious enough. The path was well-maintained, and the lake was beautiful. Very pleasant way to get some exercise. Turned around and went the other way past the resort and into downtown, where there are shops and cafes to explore. Nice.

We loved the lake. Coeur d’ Alene is a fantastic town which is clean and upscale. The lake rivals Lake Tahoe in its beauty. The people of Coeur d’ Alene obviously take great pride in the beauty of their community and the lake. This is a wonderful place to visit.

Literally one of the prettiest towns I have ever seen. Super green hills, mountains.Water everywhere.

We went to look at the lake from Higgins Point, we arrived to see beer cans in the car park. We went down to the water to throw in rocks and within 5 minutes 2 cars had come down and spun their cars continuously. Felt very unsafe, and left.

Lake is a pretty blue surrounded by lots of trees. There are a few places to eat and some large hotels.

This is probably the 3rd time we have shared taking the Boat Cruise of CdA Lake with family. Each time they (and we) are impressed with the view, the Lake, the History lesson. We recommend it at least once, if not more often.

Very picturesque. Super drive around the lake. Lots of trees and curves in the road. A few little towns along the way to stop and relax.
Great way to spend an afternoon in the Spring.
Seems nice for boating as well.
Worth the time to enjoy the scenery.

Went up to Coeur d'alene for the 4th of July, nice and cool weather and great place to stay at "tick's hideaway"

Just head to the lake with no plans. Beautiful park surrounding the beach area and quaint shops line the streets near by. My 8 year old loved the cool dip in the lake, and I loved the scenery. Be prepared to pay for parking and wear swimming shoes.

This is a wonderful place to spend a couple of weeks with the family on holidays. Coeur d'Alene lake is a beautiful to watch all the old wooden boats parade by.

Just 30 miles east of Spokane, WA, sits a tranquil place in the heart of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Boating, fishing, water skiing, jet ski and so much more can be done. The possibilities are endless if you like the outdoors.

We were able to rent a power boat & spend several hours enjoying the beautiful lake. The waters were calm
& cool & quite safe from other boaters. A must for mariners.

Absolutely beautiful; lot's to do, great restaurants. Went on the 90 minute lake cruise which was informative and fun. Bit crowded on Saturday but still found good parking.

Visited the park. Has free parking for handicap. Walking paths, benches for relaxing. Great scenic views of the lake.

My husband and I took a lake cruise that lasted about an hour and a half. It was very nice and relaxing and interesting to hear some history of the area and see the variety of homes around the lake.

We visited several places on Coeur d'Alene Lake. We kayaked twice once for 8 miles and second for 4 miles. The lake and surrounding mountains are beautiful. We watched the 4th of July fireworks from a boat on Coeur d'Alene Lake.

In traveling from the National Parks to follow the Lewis and Clark trail, it was the perfect town to stroll, enjoy the gorgeous lake, walking trails, great shops and restaurants. Would enjoy spending more time there, reminiscent of some gorgeous Michigan towns we recently visited.

What a beautiful lake and large. So much activity and fun to watch everyone enjoying themselves. Just gorgeous. Nice to have restaurants on the water to go to for meals. Jet Ski, pontoon, fishing boats...all available

We were amazed at how large this lake is. We recommend taking the boat tour. You can learn a lot about the area this way in a very comfortable boat. Its family friendly and accommodates every age and comfort level.

We had some extra time so we journeyed off the interstate and drove the east side of the lake. Beautiful drive and nice hones.

Took our Mother out for a Mothers Day drive. Then what better place to go to enjoy the beautiful sunny day and beautiful blue water than Coeur D'Alene Lake. Drove out by Higgins Point where there is a great walking path with lots of bench seating and picnic tables. Along with the ever so important restrooms. We sat and enjoyed the day along with enjoying watching people walking, biking, playing, and people with pets. Wonderful place just to unwind and relax.

Very picturesque, surrounded by the mounains - doesn't get much better! Some beautiful boats and houses to gaze upon!

This lake is the reason the city exists. There are beaches where people hang out all day, and plenty of opportunities to get out on the water. Beautiful.

This lake is out of a movie! We rented a boat for a few days and had some of the best days on the lake. It's clean, fresh, and easy to use!

The lake is beautiful crystal clear. We took a drive 1/2 way around the lake. The road is windy and narrow in spots. Some of the views are spectacular. Not to many places to stop for food on our journey.....

Great to have the beautiful views and paths around the lake just a block or 2 from downtown Coeur d'Alene. Went there during peak autumn colors.

Couer d'Alene is a town in an area of scenic beauty and part of that is the lovely lake it is set against. Parking is good and free for 2 hours. Parks near the lake with restrooms. The lake itself features a floating boardwalk around the marina and had magnificent views of the lake, hills and the boating activities. Lovely walk.

One of the most beautiful lakes I've seen. Plenty of activities for the entire family, including fun shops all around. Very pleasant people made for relaxing and exciting environments. I feel in love with the area.

Stayed with my husband and three kids at an Airbnb five minutes away from the lake. The kids enjoyed paddle-boarding and my husband and I loved getting to relax a little and drive around the lake dreaming about all of the gorgeous homes.

Great family boating area, bring your own boat or rent one at the CDA Resort. Great beach and park pn north end of lake in town. Good bass and pike fishing and kokenee fishing. Several restaurants on lake can be reached by car or boat.

Always a beauty from the highway, but finally stopped at the lake. Breathtaking! Gorgeous, clear water! Trail runs 22-23 miles along one side. Paved for bikes or walkers. Very clean.

It is such a beautiful place. They had a street fair there which was fun. We drove around and stopped in little towns. We watch the boats and float planes take off which was cool.

The lake is beautiful for boating, fishing and water sports in the summer. The rest of the year it can be chilly but remains equally scenic. In December and January the east end of the lake is known for the many bald eagles that gather to eat fish.

The lake is absolutely beautiful. This is such a hot spot for locals and tourists. So much to do at and around the lake. You can rent a boat or go on a boat tour around the lake. People have picnics and ride bikes around the lake. Absolutely gorgeous lake!!

Jeff, our captain, headed south on the western side of the lake. Julie pointed out the stairs and funiculars needed to negotiate the steep hills from the houses to beach. She pointed out the Campfire Girls summer camp where she went in the summer. There were numerous other summer camps as well as seasonal homes that were perched high above the shore. As we cruised the lake Jeff pointed out the various floating homes unique to this area. Unfortunately the smoky haze from the fires was still making the visibility of the mountains and hills less than optimal.
A fairly large population of Swedes had settled in the area around the 1800s and built many of the homes here today.

We drove around the snowy lakeside and loved the winter wonderland feeling. Quiet and serene on a snowy winter day.

Spectacular beauty everywhere you look. The cool water is very refreshing especially during summer. The weather can be wacky when winds are from the south.

We had a picnic down by the lake while visiting Coeur D’Alene overnight.
There is a lake drive very close to the city- nice to hike or bike around here as well.
The lake is a very peaceful place to stop by with plenty of seating and picnic tables scattered around.
Bathrooms are also available- it is a pack in/pack out place so grab a picnic and enjoy the lake.

Some things were under construction while I was there, but that did not seem to be the source of the anti-dog signs. Otherwise, the lake is beautiful, and the Centennial Trail or whatever it is that goes through there is a great walk/run.

We got to see an eagle near here so this made it even more special. The lake has an unearthly gorgeous color which was more special in the cold December light. We have also seen it in summer but it was better in the cold.

The lake is beautiful! Went on a wave runner up the lake from the Couer d"Alene Resort. Stopped at several marinas and had a cocktail at local restaurants and bars. Fun day on the water.

We took a trip on our anaversery and stopped at this beautiful lake. It was very crowed but we still enjoyed the view. We stopped by one of the vendors and enjoyed a cold beer and a hotdog.

Very active downtown and beach area — great food selections, we ate at Fire and it was excellent! 👍👍👍👍😁😁😁😁😁😁

We have been here before but I absolutely love this location. One of the prettiest waters around! We really enjoyed it this past summer but even in the fall the views are gorgeous!

We visited during the Ironman 70.3 competition so the town was quite busy. The lake is pristine and beautiful. There's something for everyone from playing in the shallow water, to parasailing, to cruising around learning about the area. On a hot Summer day this is the perfect place to be for people of all ages and walks of life.

Great stop on tour. Funny statute with mouse and moose. Great clear water. If I were there longer would be a fun spot to hang out all day

The lake reminds me of Lake Tahoe in CA. but not as commercialized. The park at the lake is pristine. Bathrooms immaculate. There is even a bike repair station. Bike and walking trails. Wonderful place to spemd some time.

Lake Coeur d’ Alene is a great getaway for the day or summer. Being over 25 miles long with a variety of shorelines and communities on the lake.
Close to Spokane makes it a bedroom community for many people who moor boats or own cabins on the lake.
Make sure to include a trip here on your visit to the Inland Empire.

What a beautiful area! We stayed at Coeur d'alene resort and it was central to everything. We went hiking. We went to many great restaurants and bars. We rented e-bikes from electric adventures. Can't wait to come back here.

Be sure to drive from one end to the other. It is a beautiful drive. There is a nice walking path along the lake as well.

Either a regular or dinner cruise is a must. The lakes beauty and wildlife is remarkable. You Will have a life long memories after your cruise.

Really enjoyed getting out on the water with my family here. We rented a pontoon boat for the day and wished we had it longer. Their was wind the day we we visited, so a little too cool to get in the water and tube/ski as we'd hoped, but on the plus side, the smoke was pushed away so we had a great views of the mountains and homes that line the lake. Visited a famous creamery in Harrison (?) and enjoyed being on the water. Take a stroll along the boardwalk and read the names of the boats. Funny.

There are so many things things to do on and near lake coeur d'alene. I highly reccomend the sea plane rides. I would stay away from the resort lake cruises... BORING.... rent a pontoon boat instead.

Clean water, I recommend driving around the lake to swim in the summer so you aren't so crowded in at the public beach

Never heard of this place until they set the family reunion there.
It is a hidden gem.
Just wish we had more time there to explore

Pristine blue water, a small beach in Coeur d’Alene, very large lake which you’ll enjoy by taking a 1h30 boat tour.

So beautiful and clean. We came for the Ironman and stayed a week. The lake is great. We loved the lake.

Restaurants are great, drinks are good and we always have an enjoyable time. The lake is chilly but the atmosphere is great. You can take a cruise around the lake or enjoy it from the beach. Summers are awesome because they have concerts in the park. This is a great place to paddle board and kayak.

Nice beaches, just a gorgeous place to stay and go look at the lake while you are there! Highly Recommend. We went to Art on the Green there were 100's of vendors.

We stayed on the lake at the RV park. We have friends who live here and had a boat so we got to see a lot. Picture perfect place, and the lake is enormous. The BUT is that many of the local restaurants seem to be completely dismissing covid. No masks, people seated closely, etc. in one bakery we left because we felt were were in literal danger. We are 60, and this is important to us. We wouldn’t consider coming back until this mess is over. If the local authorities were taking this seriously it would not have been this pervasive of a problem.

We rented a boat and had a great time. Also biked 40 miles one day and then played golf. What a great area. Three days wasn’t enough time.

great day on the water. Rented a pontoon for the day from the rental office downtown at the docks. The boats are well maintained and complete instructions are given.

It is a beautiful sight and though we did not get a chance to go boating, we did dip out feet in for a short walk--cold! - We can understand it draw for so many tourists...not that much development so you have nice vistas...go to website for recreational opportunities..I still like Tahoe better.

Loved the place and took a ferry tour around the lake.water front parking lot fee $2-3 hr but if you willing to walk a bit , you will be able find free parkings

We enjoyed the Father's Day brunch at Coeur d'Alene Resort (was our 40th Anniversary), stayed at a house on the east side of lake booked through VRBO (loved it), enjoyed a float plane ride and boat ride on the lake - great area to vacation! People were friendly, temperatures were great, scenery was beautiful!

We found several off leash dog parks. Our favorite was McEuen Park. Dog obstacles if the park doesn’t have friends. Bit muddy in the rain( October). Nice on leash path around the large park for exercising your four legged friend and you.

Amazing lake, gorgeous views. The woods were so awesome! We had a blast. We'll go again for our family reunion! Lots of good restaurants in the area. We tried a pizza place and it was delicious. I wish they could ship to Minnesota!

We booked a lake cruise, and it was fantastic! The lake is beautiful and easy to get to. There was parking close by for a fee.
The only complaint was Kayla who worked at the food/bar area on the lower deck. We decided to just get lunch on the ship before the cruise started. Kayla informed us that the hot dogs weren’t ready and she had no idea when they would be ready. My husband asked if there was a microwave and Kayla said yes but she wasn’t allowed to use it. Ok. We decided to wait.
Later, as the boat was leaving dock, my husband went back down to buy lunch. Hot dogs still not ready - this was half an hour later. It wouldn’t have been so bad if Kayla had been polite....gracious...just plain old nice.....about the delay. She did eventually microwave our hot dogs. The family at the table next to us had a similar problem acquiring lunch (it should be noted that hot dogs were the only option besides bags of chips or popcorn), but my husband heard Kayla being even meaner to them. Why? And better yet, why does she still have a job in customer service?
The cruise was lovely, and this little blip did not ruin the beautiful views, but Kayla certainly did not enhance the experience.

The boat trip on the Lake gave us a very good impression of the size of this Lake, make sure you bring warm jackets because during the trip it can be quite chilly on the deck

The lake is a beautiful deep blue, surrounded by mountains. You can hike along paths, take a cruise out of the Coeur d'Alene resort.

Such a beautiful lake!! Fun to visit with family. Lots of things to do downtown and great boardwalk. Places to rent boats as well!

Boat cruise was fun. Boat was clean and concession offered soft drinks, beer and cocktails, as well as snacks. Narrator did excellent job. Price was fair.

We went here to see if we could live here. I think it’s way too cold but it is a beautiful place. I can’t live with that many months of snow

Huge clear lake with sandy beach, camp sites, hotel, marina, boat rides and a park.Great swimming with fairly warm water.

If you are in the area it’s hard to miss the Lake. It’s big. Tours of different lengths are available. There are a number of places where you can just sit for a while and take it all in.

We visited the north end of the lake, from the town of Couer d'Alene itself. It was a sparkling warm, sunny day and the blue water contrasted nicely with the green of the surrounding hills.

Truly an incredible town full of things to do, see, eat, and drink. The lake is enormous, clean and clear. Wildlife includes wild turkey, bald eagles, moose, elk, deer, ducks, and great fishing. From family fun to romance, this town has it all!

We had our own group so we had a boat just for our group to go around the lake. Great on board buffet dinner. Could have had more choices for the bar. Great way to learn about the area and enjoy the lake.

Still enjoy the lake as ever , we hiked around the lake for few days love the people around , the food the shops are very interesting to stay around

How can you not love a beautiful, deep water lake. We were up in the busy north part of the lake. The one thing you really can't call it (at north end) is tranquil ... lots of craft, including full throttle wave runner rental knuckleheads (that's a glass house comment). I mean, it's not Lake of the Ozarks crazy ... it's just not a "chill" with nature setting up north.

I really like this lake. It is great for photos and it is a good place to go to on a vacation in the summer. There is a spot near the Coeur d'Alene Resort where a person can go into the lake, and heads up, the lake will be cold at first, but if you keep moving you will warm up.

The area in and around Coeur d' Alene is so beautiful. This is a must area to go and see. So much to see and do.

We were told this is the most beautiful lake in the Pacific Northwest and now we believe it. Sherman Ave that runs down to the lake has lots of shops and places to eat and drink and we enjoyed the time there

We had an awesome weekend here, rented kayaks and paddled up the river. Enjoyed a night at the resort, and loved all the differant parks to walk at.

I wish we had more time in Coeur d'Alene so we could've enjoyed the lake more! I got in a quick swim, but I would've loved to SUP or kayak. The views are gorgeous and even in September you can take a dip, it's not too cold!

The lake is broad with arms reaching into nearby towns.
In Coeur d’Alene, there’s a small harbor and park areas surrounding. Popular spot in the spring and summer; not so in the long winter.

This is where I live and vacation. The area is extremely busy o. The weekends but during the week has minimal traffic and is very enjoyable

Beautiful. We rented a boat and enjoyed the beauty of this lake. Be sure to see all of the beautiful homes.

The lake and surrounding areas are absolutely beautiful. The only drawback is that attempting to use a kayak on this beautiful lake with so many big (and occasionally inconsiderate) boats is tough. You're constantly being thrown around or turning into the wakes.

A group of 50 and 60 something 1st cousins came to the lake for a day. Such a beautiful lake!
We wanted to take the sea-plane tour, but they were not answering their phone.
One cousin had a boat on the W side of the lake and it was so pretty! Such clear water. We really liked that the downtown area of the lake area was easily accessible.

For our tastes going during the week is the way to go! We launched on the Spokane River I believe the place was called Q'emiln Park. Very nice park and boat launch. The lake was beautiful although a bit choppy the day we were out. Lake Coeur d' Alene is a large lake with plenty of room for everyone especially on a weekday. The scenery is gorgeous! We stopped in Harrison, Idaho for lunch at the marina. It was a very enjoyable day! I believe the Coeur d' Alene resort offers boats for rent and possibly does boat rides.

Rent a boat and go see the lake. It is so beautiful. There are a lot of choices of outdoor activities from pair-a-sailing to kayaking. Parking is the only downside around downtown. If you can, Uber.

Unless you are wealthy, you won't be building your dream home on this lake. But you can take a nice lake boat ride from the CdA Resort. From there you can see the many expensive homes on the lake, many only accessible by boat. We were told if you are in the lucky few, regular services will be happy to boat over to town for supplies and whatever else you need. The town of Coeur d'Alene is very small, charming and full of affluent tourists and nice shops, restaurants.
There is a nice small beach for swimming near town and you can rent a boat to ski or even swim (cold). Sailing and parasailing are also popular.

It’s a beautiful mountain lake. Really enjoyed looking at it. If I were camping or RV’ing I’d go elsewhere however. I-90 runs the length of the lake, CdL is right at the western tip ....
Personally if I’m seeking a beautiful mountain lake I’m looking to be out in the wilderness, where I don’t even see another human being for a few days. That’s not what you get at CdL Lake.

Beautiful lake regardless of the seasons...just don’t try to swim in the winter!!
The park to the North is a great place to hang out and take in the view down the lake.

Such a beautiful area in northern Idaho. The calm blue sparkling water of Lake Coeur d'Alene offers a peaceful and relaxing respite.

We took the boat ride on the lake. It was very relaxing and informational. They covered the history of the lake and the city of Coeur d"Alene. A great time.

Wonderful views, great place to swim, great restaurants, shopping is versatile especially if you're looking for vintage goods.

The 90 minute boat tour of the lake was especially nice. We’ll worth the cost. Entrance to the tour is by the city parking downtown. Hardest part was finding a parking place!

This is a beautiful lake, but what a shame there are high rises on the shore line, upscale stores, and expensive homes surrounding the lake. It is obvious who controls this city. Fortunately we were visiting during the off season, but I am told the lake gets taken over during the summer by tourists hanging out at the numerous bars that have been built near the shore.

Apparently in the summer, this place is crazy but in January, it was pretty desolate but still offered up scenic views. The best views I found were from Tubbs Hill and Beverly's in the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The marina was pretty empty and I did see one boat come in around sunset but otherwise it was pretty sleepy. I would say that it pails to Lake Taho as there just weren't as many scenic overlooks or backdrops as Tahoe. It is beautiful with a few rock formations, islands and beaches.

This lake offers so much. You can do a lake tour by boat of plane. There’s hand gliders. The floating boardwalk is great. The park by the beach was very nice too. Definitely a must visit

We were fortunate enough to see this lake from different places & it is gorgeous. We were staying in BlackRock for a wedding so we got to see the views from there as well as from people's homes & the golf course. We also were taken on the sunset cruise party boat for a pre wedding and the views were incredible. We take a lot of ocean cruises & the scenery reminded me of being on a cruise ship in another country. The lake is gorgeous surrounded by mountains. No matter where we went & had a view of the lake it was beautiful, from sitting at Whispers for a drink to eating at the Floating Green restaurant to being on a party boat.

We in the UK could learn so much about how to look after our beauty Areas, no litter and all the amenities for everyone to use and its free

Rented a pontoon with the family and had such a great time! Went fishing and swimming! You have to visit this lake, it is huge with tons of activities! We even went back without a boat and walked around and went swimming again :)

We drove around as much of the lake as we could and we definitely recommend it on a sunny day. We'd go back.

My wife and I woke up this past Sunday to a beautiful Sunny day with the temps in the 50's for the first time in awhile and instead of going fishing, we decided to jump in the 69 Corvette and cruise on up to Coeur d'Alene Lake "Just Because" it was so nice out and she really needed to unwind after a very heck-tick weekend. We arrived at the lake and spent over an hour just walking around, walking over the extended pier that overlooks the lake, and just enjoying nature. We then proceeded to walk around and visit some of the local stores, one of which sells a bunch of Irish items. While in the store I picked up a big green Irish beer hat for the upcoming holiday. After doing some local shopping, we relaxed and ate lunch at a local restaurant and got to know some of the locals and visitors to the area. It was a very very pleasant and fun relaxing afternoon. After getting home my wife thanked me for the wonderful day, and I for her company. All in All a great .... Just Because day...I highly recommend you try it someday!

What a unique lake. Formed long, long ago by glaciers. Very deep clear water with multiple aquatic adventures.

The captain REALLY knew his history and fun details about the whole area. He was entertaining, conversational, very friendly and energetic. He didn't act bored out of his mind like a lot of tour guides do. There is a full bar with snacks but the drinks are way pricey. $8 for an little 8 oz. bloody mary in a plastic cup. Aside from that, it was a beautiful day on the beautiful lake.

CDA & CDA Lake offer outstanding summer recreational activities in town and on the Lake. This area is particularly popular Memorial Day to Labor Day and visitors should making booking sof these dates well in advance.
We were here for a family reunion, but took time to enjoy some to fhe receational activities.
We thoroughtly enjoyed this area.

The lake is beautiful and it's always fun whether it's just a day trip to the lake or to see fireworks on the 4th of July even though it can get super crowded. It's a fun beautiful place and the park is pretty. I just wish they were nicer to bully breeds out there!!!

We travel all over and simply do jot get the draw to CDA! Not sure what all the hype is about. Coeur D’Alene was a huge disappointment. We had been on a 15 day trip through 7 states and we had set aside 3 of those nights to spend in CDA. We truly gave this place a chance and covered all the surrounding locations as well but decided to leave a day early because we just didn’t see it.
There are so many delightful small lake towns to visit. This town lacked charm and you have to really try to actually see the lake. High rises and a resort block most views. Most places we had visited were effortless, this place was effort everywhere we turned. I’m not sure what we’re missing here that others see! The highlight was the little town of Wallace and perhaps even Sandpoint but still didn’t rank above most places we’ve visited. We won’t be coming back!!

it is the most fantastic lake, gorgeous views and just a beautiful place. people are friendly. you can bicycle on the SE shore up thru the chain lakes and each turn on the lake is a most welcoming view. get too hot...jump in for a swim. it is just downright beautiful. I just cant say it enough!!

Whether you want to water ski, tube, fish, hike, bike, golf or just cruise the lake you will be amazed as the contrasting vistas of cool water against the green mountains and blue skies. Be on the lookout for bears, moose, eagles, egrets and more. What a magnificent place to create a memory.

One of our favorite places. It is just beautiful here. So many things to do. Jet skiing, boating fishing camping. It is the best place to relax and breathe clean fresh air.

It’s a beautiful lake with beautiful beaches and nice walk. The park is clean, full of beauty, and often filled with activity.

Great hikes, large selection of biking trails and amazing restaurants. You will fall in love with the lake and the area around it.

Wow, what a beautiful place. Visited on a cold rainy day but have to imagine on a sunny day this is a boater paradise.

Wonderful little park right on the beach. Downtown just 2 blocks away...lots of shops and restaurants. Always local attractions going on in the park!

Went on the plane tour. Well worth the price and the sights were magnificent. Beautiful and interesting. We also strolled along the floating pier and walked the beach front....all very enjoyable and relaxing.

What a great place to go. This is one lake you can take your family to and always feel safe. I love it here. Never to hot in the summer and clean beaches to layout on. Great for fishing or just a stroll down the street and do a little shopping. Of course you won't want to miss out on a special dinner and there is plenty of wonderful places to eat. Some have been here for many years.

Spent some time walking around the area. Took many pictures, the sunset was memorable. Walk around the docks at the Coeur d'Alene Resort. The water is clean and clear.

Fantastic Place. This is "Paradise." The downtown is great with numerous night spots for varying tastes. Lots of parks next to the lake. Huge amount of beach front to play in the water. Lots of things for kids to do. Plane rides, boat rentals, and of course 30 miles to Silver Mountain where you can mountain bike in the summer and have fantastic skiing in the winter. The Coeur d' Alene hotel is excellent, Tony's Restaurant is also fantastic. However, there are numerous other fine hotels and restaurants as well both downtown and nearby. Great Elks Lodge in Hayden with a fine 50 amp RV lot. Finally, if needed Kootenai Hospital is excellent and so is Kootenai Quick Care. I could go on and on. This is a fantastic place to visit and even stay for awhile

Coeur d Alene Lake is beautiful and the park is on the lake. Every sunday they have a free concert in the park and Art on the Green is a huge arts and crafts event that fills the streets and park. They have daily boat tours on BIG double decker boats complete with information on the area's history. It is a great place to take the kids and have some fun!

The lake are surrounding area is beautiful. I highly recommend it whether you want to play in the water, go for a hike, go fishing, of go for a bike ride.

What a beautiful spot to come visit! Nestled in Idaho with easy access off the highway, nice parks this was a great stop!

Spent the afternoon at this beautiful park and marina. Walking and bike paths alongside the lake. We saw a scenic plane take off as we sat on a bench enjoying the view.

We didn't expect almost the entire 125 miles of shoreline to be covered with houses, boat docks, posts and assorted water play toys. Not the pristine kind of shoreline we've grown to expect from visits to other mountain lakes. Not many places to pull into on our boat for a little fishing or relaxing.
The town was pleasant enough with some good restaurants. The Dockside was very good as were the views of the marina. Our best meal was at Anthony's in the Riverstone development by the park, this is a great spot. The town park is great and the old carousel is fun to ride. The bike trail through the area is awesome and very well maintained.

From the pictures and reviews I had read beforehand, I wasn't expecting much. But when we first turned the corner and the lake and downtown came into view, it almost took my breath away. I grew up in Europe and this place reminds me so much of resort towns in Bavaria or Slovenia. The whole downtown and lakefront were so clean and well maintained. Flowers everywhere! Lots of cute shops and even a sightseeing boat that crisscrosses the lake. The monuments honoring the military were not damaged or covered in graffiti. We will be back and are now considering retiring in the area.

perfect for a family boating day. Beautiful in every way. We rented a pontoon...and had our grandsons family with us. Lovely

On eastbound I-90, at Idaho exit 22, the junction with ID SR 97, we turned south to cross the bridge and drive along the Lake Coeur d’Alene Scenic Parkway to Harrison, and on to the the junction with ID SR 3.
This was a pretty drive, but it was longer than we anticipated. We began near Wolf Lodge Bay, the east end of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
This is beautiful country and the road was quite good.

One of my favorite NorthWest lakes. Larger, deeper and more intricate than it seems, Lake Coeur d Alene is a wonderful feature of the area. Fishing, sailing, boating, hiking or just reaxing: do it here.

My dad drove me from Spokane Washington just to see this lake. It was huge !!! The mountains surrounding it were beautiful. I could see why it was such a tourist attraction.
The pictures do not do it justice.

My husband and I enjoy coming out to Coeur d’Alene during the summer months. The weather is great and the downtown area is filled with so much activity. We both love being around water and enjoy going for strolls near the water. The evening are best as we watch the sun set while enjoying that hustle and bustle of families and watching people as they too enjoy the water and the moment.

My family had an awesome time on the lake thanks to KJ watersports for letting us rent a boat to take our children around in. I haven't been on a boat for a long time. The weather was beautiful and we for sure will be doing it again next year.

Our friends just moved Washington State so we took a hotel in Coeur d Alene.
We walked along the lake on a beautiful day, and kayaked. Lots of fun

By far the prettiest, bluest, clearest and cleanest lake I’ve ever seen in my life. Ducks and geese walking around, float planes flying in and out, parasailers taken out by boat and boat evening cruises.

Gorgeous lake! We boated for half a day. Our boys had fun wakeboarding and tubing. We enjoyed seeing all of the cabins and houses along the shore.

one of the prettiest in the country. Didn't get out on it this time but have in the past. The water is unbelievably clear

Coeur d'Alene Lake is a beautiful lake to visit! We toured it by boat at Independence Point! A guide informed everyone riding the boat by intercom of all the places along the route around the lake of the beautiful homes, sites to see and know, we even got to watch dare devils jumping from high cliffs into the water...they wanted us to clap them on their great jumps, too! They had chairs and tables inside and outside on top, where you could be in the sun or in the shade! Bathrooms, snacks, drinks (huckleberry limeade was real refreshing for us!) beer, wine, etc.
I learned from the captain that there are over 2,000 rivers/lakes in Idaho! A must if you are visiting and have 90 minutes for a relaxing boat ride around the lake to get to see and learn more about Couer d'Alene and from water looking into the city and beautiful sceneries! ENJOY!!!

The lake has clear waters, a nice trail up the Tubbs Hill that leads to steep trails down to the rocks where youngsters dive from. It is patrolled by law enforcement in paddle boats who ensures that divers do not risk their own safety.
It has a beach and a dock for lake cruise boats, a dock for private boats, dockside dining, a park, numerous art work and a block away from Sherman Avenue with plenty of places to dine in and stores to browse.
Two-hour street parking and paid parking are available. It is near I90.
In my opinion, this is a vacation or honeymoon destination.

You now have to pay for parking buy the hour and dogs aren't allowed on beach or grass. Won't be coming back. Not a pleasant visit.

Lake Coeur d'Alene is one of those places that is great no matter the season. My personal favorite is to go in December when the bald eagles are there. My favorite spot on the lake is Beauty Bay because the views are spectacular - and it is just far enough off the road to be quiet and relaxing.

Serene beauty with lots to do here. So glad we decided to visit! Hiked trails, ate way too much good food, watched sunsets, had a wonderful time!

Traveling the world; experiencing the earth...Lake CDA is the place to be. We want to tell you otherwise, because it is an undiscovered gem. We cannot lie. No.Better.Place.

The entire Coeur d’Alene area is simply wonderful, a mountain paradise with incredible views around every corner.
I think I could spend a lifetime enjoying the area and especially the lake itself, and still not see it all.
Don’t miss this!!!

We always wanted to stop in Coeu d'Alene and see the lake. We were there for one night on our way to Montana. We had amazing weather and walked around parts of the lake. Great day in a great town..

This is a beautiful lake and area. There is a nice beach with bathroom facilities. Little huts provide drinks to cool off with. There is a grassy area and trees for shade if that's what you like. Very close to restaurants and shopping also.

We lived for years on Lake Chelan in Washington, and I have to say, Lake Coeur d'Alene reminds me a little of Lake Chelan. The water is clear, the scenery breathtaking...at at one end is a resort town with all kinds of fun things to do.

Go in the summer to enjoy all this area has to offer. We enjoyed the fall color and a lake cruise. There are so many good places to eat. Shopping is fun too.

Very fun to rent a pontoon boat and explore the lake. Quite a beautiful setting. A special place and will make a memorable outing.

The boardwalk is always a must do when in Coeur d’Alene. Very well maintained and love looking at all the boats in the marina.

This looks like a beautiful lake. We drove by several public beaches. The water is crystal clear and there is all sorts of things like dinner boat rides in the area. Hope to return when the smoke is gone.

Make sure you take the bridge. Beautiful views of lake and mountains. Lake is so blue and ski runs are visible. Beautiful!

This is a beautiful lake. So many attractions from boating to airplane rides, wind surfing, water skiing.

There is a great biking/walking trail on Coeur D'Alene Lake Drive which is incredible. Such a beautiful place to walk and bike.

Our first visit to this park and it is so beautiful Coeur d'alane. Great park and just gorgeous lake. Many amenities to play around the lake too and there is a Carousel that the kids enjoy too.

Every time I travel to Coeur d'Alene from my home in St. Maries, I'm in awe of the beauty of the Lake! This is truly God's country!

Very picturesque. Great parks in the area. Great restaurants. Great coffee shops.
Our Airbnb was on north end of town but it was excellent also.
Silverwood is a very good theme park for a couple days with elementary age kids.
We always love Coeur d'Alene!

We rented a boat and spent a few hours on a boat. Clear clean water. Not too choppy and picturesque!
Rent a boat early !! They sell out!

If you want to see the most scenic and beautiful lake in the northwest, you have to come here. It's the main thing that convinced us to move to CDA.

This is one of the nicest lakes in North America. It’s unusual configuration, elevation, and forest surrounding combine for a wonderful experience. We have enjoyed the beaches, swimming areas, boating, the CDA resort, but the lake is everything! I love to snorkel and look for beautiful rocks that shimmer with mica. This is a wonderful place to visit.

The lake is beautiful and clear. Great mountain backdrops for photos but it is over commercialized. Tough to find parking in Sept. Don't know what it would be like in July during the tourist season. Lots of places to look in on and many restaurants to choose from.

The lakes in the northeast that become tourist destinations tend to get very busy and often filled with waterfront properties. Somehow this lake has been spared that fate. I visited this area 22 years ago and then again last month and thankfully, very little has changed. There are few new condos but they are obscenely priced and did not result in a massive population increase. The water is still blue and the beaches are still free and maintained.
This is an absolutely beautiful area and hopefully stays as untouched as it is today so that the masses of people who travel here can still enjoy the public spaces all around it.

This lake and its surroundings are spectacular. Fall sunsets across the lake are a delight to behold. If I ever decide to jump ship from Camano Island, ths area would be at the top of my list to land.

My husband and I had heard really good things about Coeur d'Alene Lake and the surrounding area, and it did not disappoint. We stopped at an area by a park right by the lake, where there were some shops and restaurants within walking distance. It was a beautiful, warm September day, and the lake was so clear and pretty. The park itself was really nice as well, and this was a great stop for a short (or long) visit! Lots to do and see.

I’m not sure why this is listed as a place to casually visit and take a dip in
It is HEAVILY polluted

Great lake and beautiful scenery. Could not believe how close it was to our rv park. You have to see it to believe it.

Cute small town atmosphere with a beautiful lake, parks and outstanding food. You can hike from the lake via Tubb's hill to the park and the boat ramps.

We've been coming to Couer d'Alene for years and it never gets old. Florida doesn't hold a candle to this place.

In December, bald eagles fly in to the lake to feed on the fish that come into the lake to spawn. The best viewing is on the eastern side of the lake. It is great fun to watch the eagles swoop in and grab the fish from near the surface of the water.

This place is a gem and a must visit
Pristine lake with beautiful surroundings and a park. You can either just laze around or take a dip in the lake
Plenty of other activities to do - water sports , take a boat ride or fly

This is a fun town, lots of things to do and see. There is a beautiful lake a couple of blocks from main street. The city offers sightseeing boats to explore around the lake and parks to enjoy. Great shopping and restaurants. Many are family owned and unique. Super place for biking, walking, boating and especially enjoying the outdoors. Love it there. Best place for breakfast would be Jimmys Down the Street on Sherman. Awesome food and portions to get you set for the day. Huge homemade cinnamon rolls YUM! For winter fun close to skiing too.

We took the 12:30 Lake Cruise that lasts 90 minutes and had great drinks and learned about the lake while cruising.

Coeur d'Alene Lake is lovely. A beautiful place to hang out. We were traveling through and checked out the lake and the local Park, there is a great dog park and plenty of things to do around the lake area.

We stopped in Coeur d’Alene as a one day stop over coming from Glacier National Park and one day does not do this area justice. Great little town, great food, people and the scenery was fantastic.

A perfect drive around the lake to gawk at huge homes, beautiful architecture, lush wild lands with trails everywhere along with fishing, brewpubs, coffee shops, shopping... a little bit of something for everyone!

There are lots of things you can do on the lake - boating, water skiing, swimming - or what I wanted to do, just sit in the sun and stare at the beauty of this natural wonder.

The whole area is great. The lake offers all sorts of activities. Boating, kayaking, paddle boarding.....

We stayed 3 nights in Coeur d’ Alene and enjoyed the beautiful scenery on and around the lake. We were in a hotel in town, if I were to go back a house right on the lake would be my preferred location. We rented bikes and rode through town and along the lake shore on the bike trail. We hiked the Mineral Ridge trail at sunset hoping for a beautiful sunset and vistas of the lake. The vistas we got but you are looking right into the sun so sunset photos not so much. we would recommend this hike for early morning.

What a beautiful lake in a beautiful town! There’s a lot to choose from and with planning, you can do a lot of cool things. The public park with the beach access is large and very nice. It offers public restrooms, lots of shady areas, basketball courts, trees, picnic tables, and easy access to the lake. There are parking lots that you pay to park in but they’re priced appropriately. If it’s a hot day, I do recommend getting there early. Around the lake you can rent paddle boards, paddle boats, pontoon boats, jet skis, boats for tubing, go parasailing, or take a lake cruise. From the park, there is access to the carousel, museums, and a short walk to downtown Couer D’Alene. I appreciate that I could access the lake from large stone ledges that stepped down into the water and that I could avoid the sandy beach. The beaches were very packed since it was very hot out, so we were able to distance better from the ledges. If you have any floating devices you’d like to bring, I encourage that as well. Fun for the whole family!

Coeur d’Alene is a beautiful place. The lake is picturesque, and the four season climate is part of the charm. Even in the coldest months, the place has a quiet beauty. The town is nothing extraordinary but has a few quaint shops and a smattering of restaurants that are alright. The area is packed and pricey in the summertime. The only thing that can spoil your adventures here are wildfires that are plaguing the western states.

Stay at the Coeur D'alene resort and you are right on the lake. Its a great place to relax. The bar is a bit awkward in seatling but what the hell, its not a regular hangout.

We stayed at World Mark at Arrow Point and thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of the lake. So relaxing and refreshing. Extra fun when we would spot a party boat heading south on the lake! Wonderful place to go boating with so many bays and coves! Try it!

Don't go here expecting a beach to lounge on all day. The "beach" is narrow and rocky. It is very close to the paid parking lot. The dock is lovely and the lake and view are beautiful. Renting equipment to travel on the lake (kayak, paddle board, parasailing) is a great option. Prices for rentals are a little high but still provides something fun to do for a couple hours. Water is crisp.

We had no trouble finding parking. Thoroughly enjoyed the beach by the Fort Sherman park. We enjoyed the playground there too. Water was clear and would say luke warm. Oh a hot summer day it was great.

Beautiful, big lake. Lots of activities available - plus areas to just sit, relax, and enjoy the beauty. Even driving alongside the lake is nice. Definitely find some time to enjoy the lake when here.

Beautiful setting and walk to shopping, coffee and food galore. The resort is great, but you can just stay nearby to see all the beautiful places . Mineral ridge hike was amazing! Tubs hill was just a stroll. The park is along the lake and just gorgeous. I used the picture this app to identify interesting plants, we hiked at the national forest 15 minutes away, we loved the coffee at vault!. You can do this trip and spend thousands, or on a backpack budget, the days inn looked like the nicest one I had seen in a long time - we went with a Hampton inn bc the resort sold out, but we loved that too! Enjoy all this area has to offer and then drive to Spokane or sandpoint for more!

Spent a day at the lake with the kids. The lake was very nice and clean, be careful of the Rocky sand, it's a bit rough on the feet. Good parking, and close amenities. There is a nice playground nearby and a park
We had a great day.

Park in a nearby lot and walk the paved path along the waterfront.Che k out the beach ,follow the trail to the floating boardwalk (20 minutes) over to the Tubbs trailhead .Great views of the lake.

We were staying in the area just north and did a day trip down to coeur d'Alene. We have been to the area about 1/2 dozen times and have never been disappointed. The lake is incredible and if you get a chance to do the late supper crews that's always a fun time.

What a beautiful lake!! We walked around in the shops, had beers on the dock, cocktails in Hotel and even went for a scenic plane ride!! Hope to come back here someday 😁

Because of the huge amount of forest fires we had a lot of smoke to deal with. But beautiful lake! Lots of boats, beaches and things to do. If I had a family, it would be a perfect place to take them.

Just a beautiful lake to tour, fish, ski, paddle board, Kayaking, park in front of the lake is very nice. Great classic boats to cruise the lake.

Besides the usual summer time fun things on and around the lake, there are many different types of sightseeing boat tours, all worth your while.
This time of year the Eagles are known to congregate around the lake as it isn't frozen and there is plenty of kokanee salmon for them to feed on. We did a 2-hour early afternoon tour and saw over 200 eagles. The boat we took seats about 32 and inside is plenty warm with snacks and adult beverages for purchase. You go up to the outside upper level or just around the lower level and be outside. If you have binoculars, by all means bring them but there were so many eagles and many very close you easily see them with the naked eye. Our nephew and his wife's 7 year old daughter had a blast watching and counting all of the birds, some perched, some soaring and a few actually scooping up their catch of the fish. Most of the tours have a volunteer biologist on board that narrates and helps pointing out where to find the eagles. Well worth the time and effort.

This is a large lake with about 50 square miles of surface area so there are many ways to enjoy it. The city of Coeur d'Alene is situated on the north shore, providing access to the lake and services like lodging and restaurants. We visited in July and stayed at the Hampton Inn on the northwest side of the lake along the Spokane River in the Riverstone area between US95 and I-90. This was a convenient location because the North Idaho Centennial Trail passes right by the hotel (paved, 23 miles long). We left our car parked there and walked east on the trail to downtown (2.5 miles one-way) where we ate lunch at one of the cafes on Front Ave. and enjoyed the view of the lake from City Beach, Independence Point and McEuen Park. (Note that if you drive to the area there are several pay-parking lots provided by the city.) In addition to the beach and lake views, there are open spaces of lawn as well as shady areas beneath the trees. Paved walkways lead to several sculptures, a Veterans Memorial, two large playgrounds, basketball volleyball and tennis courts, picnic tables, benches and public restrooms. The parks were very clean and attractive. The Museum of North Idaho (small fee) and the Convention and Visitor Center are also located there adjacent to the parks and the high-rise resort hotel that is easy to spot. At Boardwalk Marina next to the resort, you can take a narrated boat tour or rent a boat, paddle-board or jet ski. There are also vendors who rent bicycles for riding on the trail. For more rustic hiking, try the footpaths on Tubbs Hill just south of the resort and McEuen Park. On the way back to our hotel we detoured a couple of blocks and walked through North Idaho College to see the site of Fort Sherman, which is on the National Register of Historic Places. We had a very pleasant and memorable day!
Here are some other places to enjoy the lake:
The Lake Coeur d'Alene Scenic Byway skirts the eastern shore on Idaho state routes 97, 3, and 6.
Coeur D'Alene Parkway State Park (beaches, picnic areas, paved trail) or Mineral Ridge (hiking) on the northeast shore.
The paved 72-mile long Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes path crosses the south end of the lake.
Heyburn State Park on the southwest end of the lake offers access to the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes as well as a campground and water sports such as fishing, boating and swimming.

It's the oldest burger joint on the area, Hudson's is not only a place for a great burger but also a land mark. It opened in 1907 by Harley Hudson with a very simple menu and there special sauces, it is so simple they don't even have fries or straws. But if you want a truly a great burger you can't miss this truly iconic place.

Beautiful Lake and a great place to hang out, good place for family. Gets crowded on the weekend. Very clean and nice.

Admittedly we visited the lake in a heatwave which always makes everything seem brighter, but the whole resort was polished.

Beautiful area! Nice restaurants, a good farmers market, and the lake is stunning! We rented a boat and spend an 8 hour day exploring the lake, beautiful! Then we drove around the next day with some stunning views. Excellent stay!

Walk around lake Couer d’Alene is beautiful anytime of the day. There is cruise on the lake, downtown shopping close by and tons of restaurants. Tubs Hill overlook is just blocks away.

one of the best lake water areas in the area, if you want it it's here. hae been there several times and always want the next time to be tomorrow. kids really enjoy te area als.

I heard that this lake has over 100 miles of shoreline. Whatever it has, it long and forever running north and south in Northern Idaho. This is great for boating and skiing and all water sports. Very nice homes line the shore in various points on both sides.

Take your RV and boat. Lots to do. Neat downtown area and RV parks nearby.....one at least right on the lake. Good restaurant right ON the lake as well (I can't recall the name, sorry).

The CDA Lake is a great place to go on a hot day in the summer and or when also looking for a place with great views. The lake is huge. Many amazing hiking trails in the area to make the place even more spectacular. Very dog friendly. My golden loves going to the lake for the day to take a swim. Lots of beach space and nearby shops. There are a number of boulders safe for cliff jumping. I would still be careful of that so not jumping and landing on something.

We spent 2 days on the lake. There is so much to do. You can do water sports, hike along the shore, or hang out on the board walk. The lake is directly connected to activities in the city. The lake has great house looking from a boat. Everything from mega mansions to unique houses built into the hill to a 600k usd barn that I swear my Dad had to store our lawnmower growing up. We parked our boat in a cove and a momma deer and two babies hung out and played on the shore. Just lovely!!
We were in town the 1st week of August and it was cold in the morning. Perfect for cruising but no way this Southerner would have jumped into the water! By the afternoon it was balmy!

It is a beautiful area with lots to do on the water. Took a river cruise and it was very a nice relaxing view of the area.

Coeur d’Alene and it’s Lake has been on my bucket list for many years. It definitely did not disappoint. So much to see and so many hikes to take. The Cedars Floating Restaurant is a “must experience”.

Friends have told us for years of the beauty of the area & they are right. We saw it in June so missed the snow experience but for summer, it was outstanding. A very quaint town. A little too large for my taste but lots of things to do.

What a treasure Coeur d'Alene Lake is, and what a blessing it is to live in such a beautiful area! Treasures abound!

Lake and mountains beautiful. Dining and lounging on the lakeshore very limited. Very disappointed. So much more could be done to accommodate lakeshore cafes, dining, etc.

A large lake. The cruise takes you over half the lake on a 1 1/2 hour tour. Best view is on the upper deck of the boat. If you want to see the bald eagles, late Nov to Jan is the best time to go on a cruise.

The lake is amazing. Great swimming and other water sports. You can't get bored. Decent restaurants and the people are friendly.

We were at the lake on a fairly breezy day and it was wonderful. You can ski (both water and snow), sail, go boating, camping, kayaking, paddle board, sailboarding, fish, hike, swim. It is incredibly beautiful all around and the air is great. You can even fly into the lake but I don't think they still do flying competitions. Soo many things to do. When you are done there are great restaurants, coffee, wine, breweries and even beautiful art to see. Highly recommend visiting. Well worth it.

The lake is so blue. It has a beach that anyone can swim there. A park that is awesome, so many activities for kids, picnic tables, benches. We sat and just watched everything!

Tubs Beach is amazing, Mc Euen Park is very clean and relaxing a great park to relax and have fun. Very close to downtown, and plenty of restrooms. Great for tanning, running walking and much more.

We were pleasantly surprised by the beaches and amenities available on the lake. It was a gorgeous day and the park that runs along one portion of the lake had lots of picnic tables, some shaded areas and paid parking?? We were walking from our hotel to we took it all in.

Beauitful location. Very clean, lots to do. Good for family events. Easy to find. Several shops and activities within walking distance.

We went to enjoy the bike trails around CDA but the views of the lake are stunning. There are many public beaches and rental access to many of your favorite water toys.
Stunning; a Must See!
We have spent a few afternoons here and want to come back all the time! The lake is absolutely stunning and just walking around the shops, the floating boardwalk or even the trail right off the lake makes it for an incredible day. There are many places to eat, drink, get a coffee so many options!
The town has beautiful homes if you wanted to walk around and a huge playground for your little ones. In the summer and warmer months there is a splash pad right next to the playground that is so cute.
If you are traveling through Idaho and have some time to spare to spend a day, two or three I would highly HIGHLY recommend stopping and relaxing.
