3 of 85 Best Attractions in Park City

We brought our family of five to Park City for the first time for a long weekend getaway of skiing. The facility was excellent, friendly and helpful staff, made us ready to come back again for our next ski trip. Great place for beginners to hone their skills and then head up to higher steeper slopes at the same resort. Well done Deer Valley!

The ride up the mountain was easy . We loved the views . When we came down we ate lunch
between the 2 chair lifts. It was excellent. We ate outside.
We did not hike down although many people did.

Enjoying a peaceful couple’s retreat in this mountain paradise! Love the skiing, dinning, shopping and overall atmosphere. Much more quite then Park City Main Street But still close to the action!

Dont allow snowboarders, screw you guys. What kind of place still cares about something like that? Get over yourselves, pretentious tightwads.

For the exorbitant cost of a single day left ticket I expect top notch. The lifts do not have maps, a lot of staff not friendly and the restaurants not impressive. For lunch the registers were down and what a nightmare. I realize this can happen anywhere but I do not feel I got my over 200 dollars worth.

We’ve been skiing deer valley for 21 years. It was pricey, but worth it. It’s gone way downhill the last several years since the new owners took over. I used to rave about the food. Now it’s very disappointing. Crowds/lines weren’t a thing in the past. Now it’s overcrowded. Runs were closed the other day, in spite of opening early due to the most early snow in 10 years. Service isn’t what it used to be. The deer valley difference is gone. Ikon and the new owners tanked it. So sad.

We skied here for 2 days and even despite the lack of snow the groomers did a good job. Best to ski early in the morning and be done by lunch. The Turkey chili was as good as I remembered.

We planned to ski Deer Valley all week. The first 2 days were fine, some icy conditions, but the staff seemed friendly. The 3rd day, we showed up for ski school (booked way in advance) and were told our reservations had passed. We mistakenly booked the wrong day and were told that no accommodations would be made since it was our mistake. There was availability later in the week, but we would have to pay the full price with no credit to rebook. Spoke to a manager who said he would get back to me but didn’t. It took 3 days, 5-6 phone calls, one email, 3 visits to guest services and finally a call to another manager for him to get back to me and tell me nothing could be done. Was told if you miss a flight, you’re out of luck. However, flights give you several reminder emails prior to your flight. No reminder emails were sent so if you book far in advance, it’s easy to forget. No calls are made for no shows/late arrivals. We were even on the mountain skiing at opening time the day of our reservation and no call was made. We could have skied over to the school as that point. Manager claimed that they don’t have time for that.
We dined at Seafood Buffet twice. The first time was great. The second time, the service was terrible. The waiter charged us for 5 adults and 3 kids instead of 4 adults and 4 kids. I had to walk around to find him to correct the bill. He returned the bill without my husband’s season pass and claimed that we were the ones who lost it. I eventually walked back to the bar to try to find it and another server had it in her pocket as she had found it on the floor and said she couldn’t find him though his picture was on it and the restaurant was empty . Not what you would expect for a $600 meal for 8 of us.
We brought 2 families with us and they we will all be skiing elsewhere for the remainder of our trip. Will be taking our business elsewhere due to poor service.

Just returned from annual trip to Deer Valley - this time with my wife and 3 other couples. We spent two days skiing. The conditions were great, which obviously impacts the experience, but overall, I recommend Deer Valley for anybody looking for an amazing ski experience. The lift tickets are definitely pricey, but well worth it. There are 101 runs (all of which were open). Despite being a weekend with great conditions, we never waited for a lift, and it never felt crowded. There are no snowboarders allowed, which we liked. The variety of runs and the sheer beauty of the scenery and views were great. Very easy ticket purchase process, great restaurants, easy access. Will go back again and again!

I've been skiing at Deer Valley for over 10 years and for the past 2 years the experience has been deteriorating rapidly. Food portions are smaller and not as good, grooming has been subpar, chairlifts breaking down (happened twice in 2 weeks), facilities haven't been given as much maintenance and are starting to show their age, staff shortages are very apparent on the mountain and in the restaurants, there was even one day that even though we had over 40 inches of snow in the past couple of days they decided to close off half the mountain.
I understand Alterra wants to increase its profit margins, but at least for me, this has killed what used to be called the Deer Valley difference. It feels like you are skiing at PCMR or Vail and I'm not sure spending almost twice on lift tickets as in other resorts is as justified as it used to be.
I'll be taking my skiing elsewhere next season. Maybe Telluride or Jackson Hole
Thank you Alterra for ruining the best resort in the country.

If you love to ski and love the amenities this is your place! Great skiing from beginners to experts, and the service is better than anywhere else. Great dining options on mountain. Great instructors. And they practically ski behind you with a pillow in case you fall.

We have skied Deer Valley in the past. It is known for corduroy groomers. We skied four days. Yes, it did not snow when we were here, but no excuse. Deer valley is known not only for groomers but intermediate skiing. Soooo many of the runs were bumped out and they could have easily groomed a side portion for the less aggressive crowd. And those that were groomed, were so few that they got scraped off way too early. Killington does a better job with grooming. In fact I heard several people comment that it was like skiing in the east. Staff said it was COVID. Disagree. We had friends skiing the same days, lack of snow in Colorado and they said the grooming was great. Will not return.

No snow boarders , runs are perfectly groomed. Lots of cruiser Blue runs!! Perfect doable mogul runs for the intermediate skiier

DV remains my favorite ski resort due to service, trails and overall experience. I've been fortunate to ski lots of different areas in the West, and DV remains special. However, I did notice a lot more skiers on the mountain than I've ever experienced. I was there mid-week, so I can imagine how much worse it might be on the weekend. The other change was grooming not quite up to past experience. One of the reasons I love DV is because I really enjoy skiing the corduroy, but grooming on this visit was not nearly as sharp as in the past. I hope DV starts limits skiers even more than they already do, in order to get back to uncrowded trails.

It's more expensive to ski at DV than Park City, but in my opinion, it's worth it. First, there are no snowboarders. It's much smaller than PC, and there are less people. The food in mountain lodges are excellent, not your regular grub food. Lots of variety, even in their "Natural Buffet", there were at least 4 or 5 kinds of salads to choose from, plus more than a dozen other salad items. Not only do they have their regular soups, they also have pho (Vietnamese soup). As for services, there are 2 free mountain tours they give daily (kudos to Shawna our tour guide), free overnight ski valet and locker baskets, electric glove dryers. Staff are always willing to help. I love Deer Valley!

Snobby and expensive. Not my kind of place for sure. Booooring! So many better places to ski. Not looking to go back there in the near or distant future.

Oh the smiles, the service, the amenities! It’s an expensive mountain, but it is beautiful and well maintained. The ikon pass holders have 5 day pass access to Deer Valley changing a bit of the feel of the clientele.
No snowboarders! Yay! Not that I have anything against them, but it’s an old school mountain. Not the best quality of skiers, and many entitled skiers, but overall a phenomenal experience that should not be missed.
The entire mountain is a step above, some areas much more so. The Stein Erickson Lodge is elegant and serves a very privileged group. The staff is incredibly friendly and makes one feel appreciated and valued as a client. Be prepared to pay for what you get...two Bailey’s and coffees with a Bavarian pretzel to share set us back nearly 50. A room was quoted to me at 2200!
Well worth the experience even if it can’t be a regular thing!

This resort and ski area is one of the finest I have ever been to. Everyone there is so accommodating. The skiing is terrific for all levels. The on the hill restaurants are very large with a lot of seating. The service everywhere is outstanding. There is just a feeling of genuine friendliness and hospitality that you don't find very often in such a large operation.

More European feel than the mountain resort area at Park City. Children's club which should be functioning next year. Good dining room. Looking forward to next time.

We've been to Deer Valley so many times now I can't even count them all, but it never disappoints. The mountain itself is diverse and offers something for every skier, no matter their ability. Their instructors are top notch if you want to take a lesson. Lift lines are almost non-existent because they only sell a certain amount of tickets per day, not much overcrowding as is found at other resorts. We've skied at resorts all over the US and Deer Valley remains the favorite. We can't wait to come back again.

The hospitality of the staff is awesome, they really made us feel at home. The breakfast was perfect each morning. The shuttle service makes getting back and forth convenient and the drivers are friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and well maintained. We definitely would revisit.

Deer Valley terrain caters mostly to beginners and intermediate skiers. Beautiful vistas from summit. Mountain flows well with minimal polling required. Being more of a naturalist, I never felt as though I was one with nature in the woods or outback. You are almost always surrounded by housing or within eyesight of developed land. I feel this detracts from the beauty of the mountains. Food on the mountain is very high quality. Almost all lifts are high speed detachable chairs.

Deer valley is an amazing ski resort! It offers many runs and lifts ranging from beginner to expert! Mountain guides and staff are always so helpful and the ski school programs at this resort are impeccable! The food is crazy good and while it is often crowded, we always manage to find a seat. Mountain conditions are always perfect. Most runs are groomed phenomenally and are most always in pristine condition! Bathrooms are amazing and the people are so kind. Ski DV! 🫎

Snow conditions weren't great anywhere in 2022, so it's hard to rate a ski resort because of that. Locals were saying how bad it was & they missed the "Powder" days. Oh well, my 1st time in Utah, ever, so I had nothing to compare it to. I had a really great day of skiing & having learned to ski into the ice packed ravines (called ski resorts) in the Midwest, I didn't mind the conditions Our shuttle service dropped us & picked us up at the base of the gondola. If you have beginner skiers with you, it is very intimidating, as the only "green" run was a "black" in the Midwest, that you have to ski to get to the more accommodating green & blue runs. It is a narrow cat walk with a rock wall on one side & a drop off on the other. Once beyond that, we had a great day of skiing. AND going back to the gondola at days end, you can download. You have to be a very good & competent skier to ski down to the base under the gondola. Just sayin'. If your tired, download.

Great place to ski! Everyone at the lifts, ski storage, restaurants was so nice! Free ski and boot storage overnight which was great as we were staying off the property and didn't have to lug our equipment back and forth for a week. The trails are groomed and wonderful. Can't wait to go back.

Great introduction to skiing for my young adult daughter. Our instructor was excellent and going early before the peak holiday season had the great advantage of not being overcrowded. Views from the top of each mountain were spectacular and lifts and restaurants were both easy to access. Staff was generally friendly.

I have been an avid fan of Deer Valley Resort for over 20 years. Over that time, I have seen many changes at this resort, which holds a very special place in my heart, and I am still convinced it remains one of the best ski resorts in the world.
What stands out most today is the incredible attention paid to snow quality and grooming. If you arrive right when the lifts open, you are rewarded with pristine corduroy and some of the best skiing of the day. The staff is consistently knowledgeable and genuinely helpful, and the lift operators always keep safety front of mind, especially when assisting children.
The service at Deer Valley is beyond stellar. From thoughtful communication to small personal touches, there is a real sense of care, warmth, and human connection that is increasingly rare. The food also deserves special recognition. I have never skied anywhere else where the dining is this consistently good. Every dish is clearly prepared with intention, both in flavor and presentation.
When management changes first occurred, there were visible growing pains and it was difficult to watch at times. This season, however, has made it clear that those challenges were temporary. The Deer Valley spirit has not been lost.
Tips for visitors:
Arrive about twenty minutes before opening for the best conditions of the day.
Deer Valley is famous for its turkey chili and carrot cake, and while those are worth trying, the truth is that you cannot go wrong with anything on the menu.
Book ski school as soon as reservations open in the summer.
After two decades of skiing here, Deer Valley continues to earn my loyalty. It is a resort that evolves while still honoring what made it special in the first place, and that is no small achievement.

This was our first time to Deer Valley and what immediately stood out was the ratio of staff to guests.
We didn’t have to wait for anything during our 3 days, the week before Christmas.
As soon as you step off the shuttle, Valet’s are there to greet you and carry you equipment to the runs.
We had both our toddlers in child care one day, and they enjoyed it. Our 3yr old got to ski for 1hr, twice during the day and the staff couldn’t have been better
Before Children, we skied Park City, but thought the capacity controlled Deer Valley would be better for the family, and we were correct. We’ll return for next ski season.

Great runs, wonderful staff, Great quality but very EXPENSIVE FOOD (but what did you expect for on slope dinning). Typically ranked "the" top, or in the top couple family friendly resorts in North America. Plenty of challenging runs and relatively minimal Blue and Green runs considering the #1 Family Rating. No Boarders allowed. One of only three places in country in which boarders are not allowed.

This is a ski only resort, crowds seems either more adult or family with younger kids.
The resort is now part of the Ikon Pass and has 4 skiable mountains. Parking is limited, as many stay st ski in ski out lodges, and most larger hotels offer free shuttle service. If you have to drive, on busy days, overflow parking is at the local high school.
The two lower mountains and lodges are mostly greens and blues. Some are narrow paths.
The runs off Mt Baldy and Mt Flagstaff are mostly blue and some green; and we’ll groomed mostly. They are nice wide runs.
But to connect the four mts, there are several catwalks, which are narrow and can get crowded. The views from there are amazing however.
Also, Mountain Ridge Photography has photographers on sunny days to take portraits and also action shots on certain runs. They do an awesome job.
Ski and boots storage available at each mountain lodge and so are food options. Equipment rentals available from Christy’s, Jans and Cole sports on Mt. Several ski rental companies will also deliver to your hotel or on Mt.

We had a beautiful day of skiing while visiting a friend and cousins who are locals. We stuck to the blue groomed runs and they were awesome. Long, and despite the lack of recent snowfall, very enjoyable. Could pic up speed (topped at 49mph) and stay on edge and under control. Dipped into a few bumps and black runs which were great for a challenge but then back to comfort zone. Highly recommend this resort. Nice indoor spaces up top to enjoy the incredible views, definitely check them out. Was able to very conveniently pick up sunscreen and drinks with electrolytes to recharge and stay on the slopes!

Deer Valley used to be my go-to ski resort, but this year the staff in the equipment rental did not know what she was doing and I had to go back to get a wider pair of boots (I was told by the female there was not other boot except a lower grade one) the day I was to ski because it was very uncomfortable and constricting my legs. Luckily, there was a young man with the experience to know there were other options to fit my athletic legs and wider feet!
Also the bindings were not set right and I had to go back and get them to loosen so I could get my boot to lock into them. They were way too tight. This is not typical of prior year experience. So I lost 2 hours on the slopes due to equipment issues.
The slopes were more crowded this year and one man who had no knowledge of ski etiquette and safety actually called out in my ear "on the right" at a high speed while I was traversing the slope in his direction only a few feet from him and of course you don't tell people downhill to yield; they have the right of way.
To avoid a collision I had to fall, resulting in torn ligaments in my right knee and was not able to ski the next day!!!! People need to be briefed on ski safety before they are allowed on the slopes. This was completely unnecessary and I lost half my ski time due to an out-of-control idiot who thought he was following bicycle rules.

We really enjoyed Deer Valley and will be returning next year. Great skiing with something for everyone, newbies to experts with some great steeps. Lovely groomers too. Its a very stylish resort with great mountain restaurants which is unusual for USA ski. Great real estate watching too !! No boarders Hurrah - sorry boarders but snow better as a result and no crunching!! Its easy to get to lots of other resorts nearby too with some world powder classics in the list. We will be returning next year all the way from the UK.

the reason I chose to go to deer valley is because this resort dose not allow the snowboarding however, I took some private and Max 4 lessons which did NOT improve my ski, I learn more by watching You tube videos.

We have the Ikon pass. As a added benefit we get passes to Deer Valley (too expensive otherwise). I usually go with my dad who is 75. We both love the long groomers and amazing views. My dad also enjoys the pick up and drop off parking support. They have a truck with chair trailer.

Interesting day. Big Cottonwood Canyon was backed up due to heavy snow and avalanche control, so I drove around the mountain to Deer 🦌 Valley. It was the first time I had ever skied 🚠 here. The mountain was fun, with easy and expert terrain—something for every level. The only thing is there is no snowboarding, so if you want to switch to the board based on conditions or for any reason, you can't. Would recommend if you like to ski and want to get away for a minute.

Great group lessons and ski resort, but do not use Polly for any private or group lessons. She is older, too opinionated, and crabby. It makes for an unpleasant experience at a very expensive rate.

Wonderful runs, nicely groomed, lots of places to dine, nice private ski instructors, but they do need to make more restroom areas on the slopes. Also, the trek on flat area is very difficult and they should make a “magic carpet” for people to hop onto. Sometimes it gets crowded and a bit dangerous but they should emphasize spacing for safety more. We can’t wait until the expansion and hope to see all levels of runs too. Maybe they will make a ski in/ski out resort which would draw a ton of people too, if it is five star.

Deer Valley is no longer what it used to be, from the attention given by employees to the quality of the tissues, everything seems worse.
My family and I have been skiing here for the past 15 years and I can say with certainty that the experience has decreased greatly over the last 5. It’s no wonder Deer Valley isn’t even inside the top 10 best resorts in the US anymore. The food isn’t as good, the portions are smaller and more expensive, employees aren’t as attentive and nice any more, and what can I say about the crowds, I felt like I was skiing in Vail on some runs.
Ski patrol doesn’t do anything about reckless skiers, which there seem to be more this year. Both of my elderly parents were run over in separate incidents by reckless skiers, one of which started hurling discriminatory abuse at my father. We went to ski patrol to report it and the patrollers words were “we can’t do anything, we didn’t see it so it’s your word against his, I wouldn’t bother making a complaint”. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
The tissues given out on lifts and restaurants used to be soft and decent quality. Now it feels like you’re blowing your nose with sandpaper and the tissues are so thin that every time you use one everything soaks through and you make a mess.
This resort used to be about having the best experience possible, now it just feels like a business out to make as much money as possible.
To top it off, we went for dinner at Fireside, we’ve been going at least once a year for the past 10 years and you could always bring your own wine with no extra cost. No it costs $50 per bottle to bring your own wine.

I have Food Allergies and was trying to safely order lunch for myself and I was rushed through the line and wasn’t able to ask questions about what I could safely eat, the even messed up my order the first time and tried just removing the item I was allergic to which isn’t ok. Never eating here again wouldn’t do it on threat of my life.

In July we hiked Silverlake trail up and took the gondola down, about an hour and 20 minutes for inexperienced hikers. Great views. In August I hiked up Ontario trail and down Silverlake trail about 4 miles with a friend..great hiking.

We love coming here, but the crowds were insane over spring break. They need to figure out how to handle this better. The rental line took forever and the bindings were incorrect due to being rushed and busy. The retail shops need better customer service overall. They need to build more parking lots if they are this busy. The slopes were icy as you take off the skis by Snow Park Lodge and it could be a liability for Deer Valley if someone should fall there. The ski lessons were all booked out and they need to accomodate for peak season better. I still would come here, but I just don't want it to decline each year.

The skiing was wonderful. My daughter and I will definitely go back. The one thing you need to worry about is the resort pricing. Expect to pay more than you are use to for food and drinks.

This place still uses paper lift passes and hole punches like it's 1979, which means that if your pass falls off, then you are out of luck. And their awesome customer-friendly policy is to NOT reissue passes even when you have a receipt and credit card and made the purchase 5 minutes prior.
Here's a tip Deer Valley - try trusting the customers who are paying $180 just to ski at your 1979 resort. I will NEVER ski there again.

Deer Valley used to provide the best ski experience available. Sadly, in the past 3 years, since it was sold to a large corporation, the quality has declined tremendously. The mountain itself is still beautiful. However, the atmosphere and services have gone from “friendly and relaxed” to reasonably courteous and impersonal. Their new motto might as well be. “ give us your money and move on”. This is no longer the Deer Valley we all used to love. It is time to look into locally owned resorts!

I may be a bit of a ski snob, but I only ski Deer Valley. I like that it is skiing only and no snowboarding. It cuts down on the crowds and must makes it more enjoyable.

I have been coming to Deer Valley to ski every year since 1995. In 2018 I bought a home in Deer Valley because my family had fallen in love with the premium experience it provided in terms of service and grooming conditions. However, over the last 2 to 3 years, we have all been very disappointed in the noticeable decline in grooming conditions. This year, in particular, it has been extremely disappointing. Yes, the natural snow has been below average but, in the past when this has occurred, a much greater percentage of the open runs were groomed. It is exceedingly obvious that DV has stretched is capabilities for purposes of expanding the resort and does not have the equipment and employees to maintain the service levels they have provided in the past. Clearly, the equipment that DV has is being used to try and prepare the new/expanded areas rather than grooming runs that were always groomed in the past (e.g. Flagstaff runs, Bald Mt runs, Little Baldy runs and Empire runs). Deer Valley is not what is used to be and that is a shame….

Let me begin by saying we did not make private advanced family/individual ski lessons as a result our family skied together and apart. Yesterday was our first day here skiing. My daughter age (9) and I stayed together while my husband skied down greens. We warmed up in a snack cabin. I had the Deer Valley man at the counter call ski school in the hopes a ski instructor was available. After awhile he shared ski school wait time was 10 minutes. Today I tried face to face_ the office mid mountain Silver Lake. The deer valley school registration lady went back and forth yes we do have a custom an available instructor after checking the computer she said no we don’t have customs. The lady asked another a question together the women giggled behind the desk. These women were glad I did not know what they are saying. I explained my family went skiing while I desired an on the spot instructor. I had zero restrictions plus I arrived 10:30 am. Tomorrow I was told is booked. I’m staying at the Golden Hirsh Inn again I asked if a lesson opened would they call my cell. Answer NO. I’m unhappy. I miss Beaver Creek service level. Today I wasted my skis and pass without an instructor I felt shaky.

Just amazing. The staff the mountain the food the service, I can’t say enough good things. It may have spoiled us for any other ski resort.

We have been skiing there either winter break or spring break for over 10 years.
The trails are very well groomed. The altitude and scenic views are unmatched. The staff there are always friendly and welcoming.
It’s on the pricy side but the fact that they don’t allow snowboarding makes us feel more comfortable.
There are also many world class eateries around the mountains. My husband doesn’t ski so it’s important for him to have some fine dining and fun shopping options at an excellent ski resort while I and my kid have fun skiing every ski trip there.

In the honor of transparency and ethics, it's worth noting that I partnered with Deer Valley this year on my visit, and want to share my honest opinion of my stay this year at the Black Diamond Lodge and Deer Valley. I take these reviews very seriously and am truthful when it comes to my honest reviews to include both the positive and negatives regarding my experiences. I would review regardless of whether or not I partnered, so as to help future guests decide on if they'd like to make it a place they'd travel to for their next vacation.
Pros:
I've just returned from my second winter season visiting Deer Valley and it never disappoints. The ski in ski out options are endless when it comes to lodging, and the various price points vary, which is great if you're looking for an ultra-posh experience or a more rustic one. The facilities from the rental stops to the restaurants were I would say, unlike any other ski area in that, the hospitality, cuisine, and spaciousness was incredible. From the staff who manage the lift, to the rental shop to the kitchen are so kind and helpful and nice! They seem like they really enjoy working there which is always really great to see.
The cuisine options at Deer Valley are of plenty, and most definitely not your typical cafeteria options at the main lodges. They have everything from Phở to fine sandwiches and everything in between. It makes taking a break and enjoying the skiers from the outdoor lawn chairs easy, when the food and drink is unique and eclectic.
If you're looking for a posh and luxurious ski in/ski out meal, drink, or accommodations, then Deer Valley is the perfect place for that. Everyone seems so happy at this place, and the slopes are of course, the highlight.
As someone who's skied diamonds but appreciates the greens, I thoroughly enjoy how Deer Valley has set up their runs. A beginner can take the lift to the top and comfortably ski all the way down on various greens, while an expert can do the same and ski double blues or diamond modules just the same. I love the greens; the views are breathtaking throughout, and there are man areas to ski through the forest on your way down, which is really special. The trails are wide and easy to follow, and they're never overcrowded (at least they haven't been in my two years of skiing here).
Last year, I stayed at One Empire, which, if you have the chance, is ultimate ski in/out luxury. The facilities there can't compare to anywhere else in the sense of fine luxury. This year, my family and I (all adults), stayed at Black Diamond, which was at the bottom of the mountain and had GREAT views of those skiing down. The facilities were also astounding, with a gym, sauna, steam room, aprés every day from 3:30-5, and our own personal hot tub on the deck. Our 3-bedroom condo was so spacious, and had unique decor and everything we could ask for.
If you have the chance, go for an evening sleigh ride! It was easy to organize this on our own, and cost around $170 for 4 people, a private sleigh. The horses were treated well and seemed happy. We went with Boulder Mountain Ranch. And also check out Fireside Dining for a really unique eating experience. I'd also highly recommend the Seafood Buffet for endless options for the seafood lovers out there. Their 'Make Your Own Chowder Bar' is unique and delicious.
Cons:
Pet owners note: While many of the condos are not pet friendly (including Black Diamond since they're independently owned), there are many options for Airbnb's in town that allow pets, as well as the St. Regis right beside Black Diamond and the Montage, that allow pets as well. My cat is an ESA and I get very depressed without him ever since traveling to every country in the world and experiencing PTSD. He stayed at a local pet-friendly Airbnb and I visited him several times a day. There are many options when it comes to bringing your ESA or pet along.
The only thing I'd say we didn't love was The Buff restaurant. I wouldn't recommend this one. The food took over an hour to get to our table and much of it was not cooked (Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes, were all hard, eek!). With that said, it seems they were having problems in the kitchen that night and the Manager even told us he had to be in the kitchen to help cook. Might have just been that night, but either way, worth noting. All other restaurants were spectacular!
Also worth noting that Deer Valley is an expensive ski area. The rates are much higher than neighboring Park City, for example. You pay a premium for luxury amenities, food and accommodations and for good reason. It's a ski-only mountain, they will restrict the amount of lift tickets sold (on certain days of the year) and definitely has all you could ask for in regards to a luxury ski experience.
Overall, if you're a skier, I wouldn't miss out on skiing the gem of what is Deer Valley. It's whole-heartidly, my most favorite mountain of all I've ever skied in my life. Our family is already making it an annual tradition to come back :).

Even though they advertised “all lifts operating” about one third of the mountain was effectively closed because the main lift Quincy was inoperable. For the second day. However when we purchased our lift tickets we were not informed of the closure. Very disappointed.

Always a great place to ski. it has gotten busier with the Ikon pass but infinitely better than Park City Mountain Resort or The Canyons. The staff is fabulous and helpful. The instructors are excellent. The grooming of the runs is first class. Food on the mountain is excellent but pricey.

I had forgotten how wonderful it is to Ski at a Snowboarder Free resort.
In my decades of skiing I have been run into 4 times, ALWAYS by Snowboarders. Most recently in Colorado, I was stopped on the side of a trail waiting for my wife to catch up. WAM!! I was hit from behind by a Snowboarder going Warp-Factor 7.
This snow is so much better at Snowboarder Free resort, not cut up by Snowboarders. The skiers at Deer Valley resort we're more courteous and thoughtful that I have experienced elsewhere. Also, the employees of Deer Valley resort are first-class, almost at Disneyland levels.
Parking at the resort can be a problem on weekends. (I never ski on weekends.) However, if you see Monday through Friday the parking lots are good. A tram comes by about every 2-3 minutes to take you to the base of the mountain.
I only ski greens now. The best ones are higher up on the mountain. Ontario was my favorite run.
Password free Wi-Fi was available throughout the resort.

We’ve been coming to Deer Valley for 17years and have enjoyed the level of food unparalleled in any other resort. On our recent trip, we were DISAPPOINTED to find out that Snow Park lodge no longer makes Eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros along with may other of their delicious fresh made breakfast food we have come to love over the years. Why? Now, Snow Park offers pre-made breakfast burritos like Taco Bell. Is this the Deer Valley Experience? These are just a few of the touches which used to make the Deer Valley Experience a unique one. Instead, they are lowering the standard which we have been accustomed to for so many years. Additionally, Royal Street Cafe stopped making truffle fries and have discontinued the Crawfish bisque soup. Is this a result of joining the EPIC PASS resorts? If so, stop it! Deer Valley has always been a unique place to bring your friends and family to feel special. What is happening with the food is extremely disappointing.

During this week in UT, I skied 2 days @ Deer Valley + 1 day @ Solitude + 1 day @ Brighton + 1 day @ Alta + 1 day @ Park City; using my Ikon Base pass & Epic Local pass.
Note: I have previously skied the other UT resorts, but not Deer Valley until this year, because of the high cost of the DV lift ticket ($169 day ticket for the walk up rate on closing week; and higher during the late Dec./early Jan. period) and could find no discounts----but for the 18/19 ski season, DV was bought by "Alterra", which put out year 1 of the "Ikon Pass"; and skied 2 previous days (late Dec./early Jan.) @ DV.
DV is a large resort with multiple peaks, spread over a ridge line; and is adjacent to Park City (can see the top of the PC "Jupiter" lift about 100 yards away from the top of the DV "Empire" lift; and if "legal" (no rope ducking) could ski from the Jupiter lift into the Empire runs.
DV is one of the three USA resorts that does not allow snowboarding; and I have nothing against boarders (my 2 daughters, and all of their friends all snowboard; and I am thinking about possibly learning, after 40 years of skiing; and I believe that I am pretty good skier, but do not look for terrain parks and/or cliff jumps).
DV is correctly known for its groomed runs; but has many ungroomed runs, too----which are really nice if there is fresh snow/UT Pow.
DV offers 2 hour long, guided mountain tours twice per day: one starting @ 930am @ the "Snow Park" base, and one @ 130pm @ the Silver Lake base. All skiers need to complete a waiver prior to the tour, via paper or online app, once per season. Tours are broken down into 2 skier categories: "Expert" (must be able to ski Bumps and ungroomed runs and gladed tree runs) and "Intermediate" (stick to the blue square groomers). Each Mtn. Host know the DV layout and is wealth of knowledge.
I strongly recommend that Person new to DV, to take at LEAST one of these tours. I, personally took, the "expert" tour each day (4 times) this season that I skied DV; including my final day @ DV, Fri., 04.05.19, which included runs to the far east part of DV, that the previous tours did not take.
If you are like me, and am "Not Rich", and need to "shop for the best bargains", if You spend anytime @ any of the major resorts, I strongly recommend that You do your research and look at the Ikon Pass (2 levels, and I buy the "Base" pass) and/or the Epic Pass (multiple levels, and I buy the 2nd tiered pass: the Epic Local). Both of the passes that I bought have the same "black out" periods, which really does not affect me, and I save about $200 between buying the top pass and the 2nd tier pass, for EACH pass.
Bottom Line: I am very happy that I was able to ski DV this season; a 1st time for me, and I have now 40 years of skiing in at many of the "major" western ski resorts, thanks to previously buying the Epic Local, Mountain Collective and "Max Pass" (Ikon is mostly a combination of MC & MP passes, minus some resorts that went to the Epic group).

We traveled from Boston specifically to ski at Deer Valley, expecting a luxury, world-class experience. Instead, we had one of the most disappointing ski trips ever.
• Rennstall Ski Tune Service – Staff was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. Our skis were not properly tuned, and when another employee (Chris) offered to fix them, the same rude staff member refused outright.
• Snowflake Lift Attendant (Suzanne) – Yelled at our children instead of helping them. Completely unacceptable behavior.
• Expert Tour Guide – Rude, impatient, and dismissive. She cut off questions, was unfriendly, and made the experience so uncomfortable that we left the tour early.
To make matters worse, we sent multiple emails to Deer Valley management about these issues, and no one even acknowledged our concerns. It’s clear that they simply don’t care—I guess they’re too busy to care about one customer.
For a resort that claims to be luxurious and guest-focused, this level of service is unacceptable. We should have chosen Aspen or another IKON resort instead. Deer Valley has completely lost our trust—we won’t be returning.

We’ve actually been skiing here since 2012. Love the on mountain experience. Very professional and friendly staff, easy lifts, great and well managed terrain, as well as delicious food at the various lodges. COVID has made it more challenging to dine on the mountain but it’s available for those who plan ahead or can be patient. Our favorite resort by far.

This place is amazing!
My wife had never skied before and I only a few times so we took a private lesson.
Ryan was great! In no time he had my wife learning different techniques and now she is excited to hit the slopes again soon.

The new reservations kn icon passes is poorly advertised and rolled out. Wasted an icon pass and a trip this year. Never coming back

We do not ski often, but Deer Valley had plenty of ski runs for all levels. I would not recommend going the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day- $169 a day each. Great food in restaurants next to the slopes. Extremely helpful staff- a lot of them!

This is a summer review. Beautiful weather, scenery and activities. The temperature ranged from upper 60’s to low 70’s during the day and lower 50’s at night. The air was crisp, clear and refreshing. The hiking and mountain biking are excellent. Food options are plentiful and delicious. There are also other worthwhile activities nearby such as, white water rafting, kayaking and Utah Olympic Park with numerous outdoor activities. Great place for a summer getaway in a traditional winter resort.

Skiing with family. Great mix of runs for all levels. Snow well groomed. Fantastic-our favorite mountain of the trip. Very well run and efficient.

Skied here 2 days in a town coming off a 30 inch storm the previous days. Still was able to catch powder on last day experts will like the empire area and not crowded at all. Tons of blues and groomers you can fly on

Deer Valley offers a skiing experience that is delightful. Lovely terrain, impeccable grooming, options for everyone and luxe / skier friendly touches everywhere make you feel like a total rockstar. Ski early, ski high and ski through lunch to enjoy the least crowded slopes. Simply wonderful!

Groomed trails, hankies when you need them and beautiful, second to none, accommodations. If this is your idea of skiing, Deer Valley is for you. My preference is a bit more rustic, earthy and challenging -- (this is not a criticism but simply a preference).

had such a fantastic time; stayed at the lodges at deer valley beautiful place great staff great location; great rooms
the resort is so nice and complimentary ski storage; everyone eager to please
best part were the mountain hosts; we did several mountain host tours; john tom , really stand out; did a ton of runs and saw the mountain and they were so hospitable showed us several quiet runs that would not have discovered on our own; only had one girl C... who talked way too much and her tour was not very good; concentrated mostly on apres ski spots and her tour was really boring and slow going; but the others were amazing

We just completed our ski vacation at Deer Valley with our family including 3 grandkids. The snow was awesome this year with over 108” at the base and summit. The season should be great for several weeks so plan your trip and just go!

The grooming and lovely people at all lifts, the hosts at virtually every map on the mountain and the quality of the on mountain dining are all amazing. Such a great variety of terrain, mostly with great pitch but without too many challenging moguls to navigate, many runs nearly empty even on a busy day and few lift lines make this a great ski destination. BUT the Mountain Tours with the knowledgeable hosts is beyond anything you've ever experienced! We only had 4 days of skiing, but after the 1st day using this FREE service, we used it every morning! Anne, Tom, John and Kat were the most amazing guides and hosts! And most refused gratuity...they LOVE their job and want nothing more than to help us to enjoy the ski experience at Deer Valley and learn a little history at the same time! We took the intermediate tour each morning and opted for the "faster" group. It was perfect for us! We are advanced skiers and had plenty of ski time and lots of great and often challenging runs. Can't say enough about the Deer Valley ski experience - it was everything we had heard about and more!

Deer Valley is my favorite place to ski, not crowded, variety of ski runs. We go on off weeks and avoid holidays. There are times when we don’t see anyone else on some of the trails. The food is delicious and the lodges are beautiful. Plus no snowboarders.

Deer Valley is a beautiful place to ski. Everything is first class and everyone who works there is friendly and helpful. The runs where very comfortable blue runs that make everyone look good. I would definitely come back here for the skiing and the food.

We were so excited to finally go to Deer Valley on a holiday weekend and were willing to pay the high price tag for a more exclusive, luxury, less crowded experience. Deer Valley advertises limited lift ticket sales which is why we were willing to pay more to avoid the large crowds, long lines, limited options, etc. on a holiday weekend. However, unfortunately, the experience at Deer Valley was not as advertised. We were told they sold 3,000 more lift tickets than usual on President's Day weekend but they certainly didn't lower the price to make up for it. The worst issue is that they just don't have the facilities on the mountain to handle this many people. I have never had so much trouble finding a table to eat/have a drink/relax and spend more money on a mountain. It was much worse than any of the Colorado resorts (Vail, Winterpark, etc.) that I've been to on holiday weeks/weekends. There were many people on lifts, in the lines, in the lodges, etc. that were complaining about the price considering the low quality experience/limited options. This is definitely not worth the high price tag. We had a much better experience in Vail on President's Day weekend last year and it was much more cost effective and convenient. I'm sure the residents there were also not happy with the resort as there is no way being this over capacity is what they signed up for when they purchased a home there.

If you like very short, and very groomed ski runs - this place is for you and it will cost you $250 for a lift ticket and $25 per person to eat. Yes, they have people in green outfits everywhere, just like Pebble Beach, but unfortunately the mountain just doesn’t deliver. It’s lackluster at best.

Loved Deer Valley. Well organized with great helpful staff. Really appreciate the mountain hosts up on the hills to help you with directions. So many runs and each lift gets you to a variety of runs. Highly recommend. We will be back.

This review is for the Mariposa Restaurant at Deer Valley, one of the most overpriced and undervalued dining experiences I've ever had in my 71 years, 50 as a restaurant owner. Dined here many times in the past, always has been expensive but now it has moved into the gouging category. Then again many restaurants in Park City, especially those on Main Street, have dipped into that gouging range. $28 for 5-6 pieces of roasted mushrooms, $47 for 4 oz's of thin overcooked trout give me a break!!

Deer Valley Resort - Something for everyone!!!!

I have skied here on and off for 20 years but not often because it's expensive. I got the Icon pass and I have 5 days of skiing this year 😁. This place is an intermediate mecca with long rolling runs. There is an ample lift system moving skiers with little or no lines. The tree sking is excellent when there is good snow and there is plenty of challenging terrain for even the best skiers.
The food is great but pricey and the infrastructure is the best you will find. It is very much geared toward the end like Aspen and Vail.
If you love to ski dont pass up an opportunity to ski Deer Valley.

Family of 7 visited Lodges at Deer Valley for 6 days. Great amenities and beautiful area. staff and concierge were very helpful. We were all beginners and when we went to book lift tickets at the front desk I’m not sure they were aware of the discount given to beginners for the green lift tickets. Thankfully, by the time we made it to the ski lodge the clerk was able to save us $900 in lift tickets and equipment rentals. Glad she recognized the charge and was aware of the correct pricing. We did have to wait 30 minutes after being fitted for our ski boots to get the 1/2 day equipment deal. In any event, the staff at the lodge was helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back.

We always wanted to come to this resort because of no snowboarders. However we would take the snowboarders any day over the skiers at this resort. First expect unsupervised little kids skiing and trying to get and pay for food in the restaurants. We got stuck behind two kids trying to pay for French fries with cash and not having enough money. At least twice a day I had a kid cut me off and run over my skiis. One teenager laughed at me when she almost made me fall from cutting me off. Parents basically let their kids run all over the place with no supervision even in the bar.
The adult skiers are generally no better. Flying down green runs and skiing right up next to you. I felt sorry for the staff trying to get skiers to slow down where there are large signs that say “SLOW DOWN”.
The staff here is amazing though. Better than any other resort I have been to. They are always offering to help you. One staffer helped me up when I fell. I also found the food to be better than most resorts.
We won’t be back for the sole reason of the atmosphere of the resort created by the people that ski here.

Skiing at the Deer Valley Resort is an amazing experience. It once to know only skiers are to be allowed on the runs so no worries about being run over by snow boarders. My adult children and I split up a ski day. 2 of my kids will go to Deer valley and ski and 2 will go to Park City Mountain Resort to snow board and we meet up after for some good stories of the day time!

Love skiing Deer Valley as the slopes are awesome and there are never any lines at the chair lift. The dining accommodations are top notch and you can always find a table to sit...they limit the amount of lift tickets sold so that if everyone wanted to eat lunch at the same time they could find a seat. The people working there are also super nice and helpful.

We have skied Deer Valley every year for the last 15 + years. Unfortunately this year, we have had the worst conditions as possible. That is not Deer Valley's fault for lack of snow. Last year at this time we had world record amount of snow. However, There was <50% of the ski-able area available, and what was open was either Ice or Rocks and Twigs. In the past they have limited the tickets, but they did not limit them enough. I have skied all my life and made it safely off the mountain feeling stressed from the watching my back for other skiers NOT caring about safety. We witnessed more than 5 people / run fall/get hit or close calls every run we made. I love the people/workers of Deer Valley but the corporate division making the calls NEED to limit people more, help the staff with more coverage of Ski Patrol, more support and training of the wonderful ski school for safety and support Ski ediquette. You are expanding...please do it safely and thoughtfully. Your reputation and support of one of the most expensive ski ticket will be in question.

Have been skiing at Deer Valley for 9 years now. It's a great mountain to ski, no matter what level you are. The people are always friendly and are there to help you in any way.
They have complimentary ski check so you don't have to haul your gear everyday. There is rarely a lift line and if there is it's usually no more than 5 minutes.
The food on the mountain is a bit pricey, but well worth it. High quality and delicious.
Two things I especially like are no snowboarders and they sell a limited number of lift tickets per day.

Best ski resort in Rocky Mountains, but there are also great things to do here during the summer. Especially fun is hooking your mountain bike to the chair lift, riding to mid lift area and riding your bike through the myriad of spring flowers in bloom all over the mountain. Hiking is also spectacular as the views of nearby mountains are truly magnificent. Looking forward to the next ski season as we had 100 feet of snow at the base last ski season. Winter, summer, spring and fall, Deer Valley is the best of all.

We had never been to the west to go skiing. Only skied a few times in the east. This resort is excellent. Lots of green runs for those of us still learning. Lots of blues too. It helps that they do not allow ski boards. Keeps us safer. Lifts are good and the people are very helpful. They helped us decide which runs to do and answered any questions we had. The lesson was excellent and helpful for the one of us who needed it. We recommend the Golderner Hirsch hotel as that was right there and a great place to stay. Also the Golderner Hirsch restaurant was outstanding.
Teens will have lots to do when they ditch you

This is a fantastic resort. Excellent customer service, great runs and great food. Will be back again for sure. The Vintage Room is fantastic at the Regis Hotel

We didn't experience the "luxury" of Deer Valley. The grooming was good and the skiing was fun, just like a dozen other resorts, but aside from the lift operators, I found most of the staff to be salty and without courtesy. I do not find any value in their exorbitant prices and that they charge a $50 service charge to refund a days lift ticket is appalling.

I love Deer Valley but it's expensive! Be ready to drop lots of $$$ to enjoy your time there. But, great mountain. Great food. Great staff!

Outstanding place to snow ski. Beautifully groomed slopes. Friendly and helpful staff. Top rated food available. 10/10

My girlfriend and I took a trip to Deer Valley and loved the skiing. They limit the number of tickets so while some of the lifts can have a line, it's not nearly as crowded as Park City slopes. The higher you go, the shorter the line. We parked at Jordanelle and took the gondola up (great view!).

Beautiful area to ski/snowboard! Stayed right in the town, easy to access mountain lifts and plenty of runs. Got over a foot of snow, great conditions!

Great skiing...super friendly staff...excellent food choices. Lots of trails across ski levels...well groomed...not crowded. In addition to very friendly staff at ski rentals, super convenient to store skis over night. Make sure you try the seafood buffet!

Great facility with well designed access to slopes.
Offered lift passes on line. Machine read bar code and would only print one ticket. Had to get in line for other one.
Time wasted

We have membership at the Deer Valley Club (the best deal on the mountain) and have spent two weeks skiing every year for the past 25 years with family and friends. Have skied in Vermont, NC,Colorado,WV, but I do not think there is a better place than Deer Valley. The amenities at the Deer Valley Club would be hard to beat!

Taking the recommendation of several friends, my wife, grown daughter, and I included Deer Valley in our first ski trip out West, and we spent a full day skiing many of the resort’s 103 trails and riding many of its 21 lifts. The resort seemingly thought of everything to optimize our visit, from the convenient drop-off spot feet from a base lift, and the shuttle to-and-from the parking lots, to the hosts offering advice at the huge trail-map signs near the lifts. The hosts really helped us coordinate our runs, since my wife and I chose blue intermediate trails, while our daughter took on more-challenging black diamonds. We always met at the same lifts, and we managed to reach all three summits: Bald Mountain (9,400), Flagstaff Mountain (9,100), and Empire Mountain (9,570). All the blue trails were groomed, which made it easier for skiers accustomed to Northeastern conditions. And, when, for our final run of the day, we reached a remote lift 5 minutes after closing, the operator kindly let us on. All in all, we had a great day of skiing with fantastic conditions and a friendly atmosphere.

We love DV in the summer. It is beautiful. There are so many things to do as a family. Mountain bike, E bike, hike, raft, paddle board, relax, swim, sail... and the restaurants are great!

Great venue for beginner skiers like ourselves. Great selection of Easy (Green) and moderate (Blue) runs. Some of the runs go on for miles which is really nice. Higher ticket prices seem to ensure shorter lines. We never had more than 4 people in front of us.
Best of all: free ski valet service next to lodge allows skis and poles to be checked each night upon departure. Just put your boots in a locker or wear them out to close up parking lot. Good convenience and much better than hauling around at the end of a full day.

Had 4 visits to Deer Valley while staying in Park City. We are an older couple and " light blue cruisers" and really appreciated the range of terrain available that really suited us. We used the IKON pass which Deer Valley still didn't have the technology to screen automatically so you needed to get a physical day pass, but that was a very minor issue. We found the staff most helpful and keen to please. The overall facilities are outstanding. We found the food a little expensive but of good quality. Would happily return if somone gives us the airfare from New Zealand!

We spent Spring Break in Park City, skiing in Deer Valley. The snow was amazing, runs were well groomed and staff was friendly. Even with high crowds, there were no long lines in lifts and the runs did not feel crowded. Only reason we didn’t give 5 stars was the price of lunch. For 2 adults and 1 child it was over $65 for cafeteria style lunch......crazy prices but food and atmosphere were good.

Deer Valley is a special place for us. We spent 3 days in Park City sampling 3 ski resorts (Park City, Canyon (part of Park City) and Deer Valley). Park City ski resorts was great but nothing beat Deer Valley customer service (during and after). After - My son lost our phone during skiing. When found, the lost and found department called us and send the phone back to our home in East Coast. They wrapped the phone securely and sent it back using priority mail. Thank you! Thank you! We wil be back

This is the place to go if you want to avoid the crowds of Park city. The runs are not as challenging, but the facilities are top notch.

It is such a pleasure to visit a business over five days, with many interactions, and find almost all to be conducted with high degree of competence, warmth and general hospitality. Why don’t more service organizations imitate this approach? DV sets the bar for ski resorts and most hotels and airlines I use could learn a lot from them. Thank you!

This was our first time skiing in Deer Valley. Had a great time! The resort is well maintained, the slopes well groomed. Customer service is pretty good. The slopes are wide and clearly marked. Never crowded either. Even the day the resort was sold out, it didn’t seem crowded.
Quite a few lifts with decent amount of options.

I have never seen a pair of skis before. When I walked into this resort, with friends who were skiers, it was the first time I had seen any ski stuff.
The resort staff knew immediately we were new to the game. They got us in and took care of us. Errol Harper got us fitted up in boots and skis perfectly. Everyone was about as friendly as you could possibly ask for, and he made sure we were taken care of.
So, my wife and I took a private class with Taylor Smith. He was abnormally patient and made us feel very comfortable and had a great method of giving us the basics in a short time. If you are inexperienced, ask for Taylor, you can’t go wrong.
I can’t speak about the more difficult slopes, but the organization of the easy areas was great.
Thank you, Deer Valley Resort, for a great introduction to skiing.
Dave

We love Deer Valley! The mountain is great and the staff is exceptionally well trained, friendly and helpful!

We skied on 2/11 and 2/12
Great conditions
Lines not long at all unless you rented skis from Deer Valley directly, that line was over an hour long to pick up. We rented from Ski n See and that worked out so well.
Food lines were long and finding a seat was very difficult. People lingered at tables and didn’t purchase, just sat and chatted. DV should be doing a better job at opening tables up. We had 3 bowls of turkey chili, 2 waters and 2 beers...$74!
Bring your own water battle, they have filling stations but not fountains available and the lines were long just to get a water.
Workers were militant about mask wearing.
Next time we would just pack our own food and put it in a backpack.
We rented a locker for our stuff and that was easy and efficient.
We also used the overnight ski storage, it’s the only place where the workers were miserable, not the typical lovely DV employees, we didn’t have to stay too long so we moved on but wow, they were grumpy.
Picked up our reserved, 2-day lift tickets took about 15 min, there was a long line in the front but no line around the back so that’s where we went, not sure why no one from DV was directing people to go to the other side but they should be.
Hope that helps , we had a nice time...not a good as usual but glad we went.

Excellent skiing, service and food. The ski valet is particularly special. All staff very kind and helpful. Lots of people to provide helpful information about lifts and ski runs.
Food is expensive but very good.

Deer Valley resort is a gem. All of my families ski dollars go here and every penny is worth it. Knowledgeable staff, excellent food, amazing skiing!

Extremely well groomed trails. Big area to ski. Many options available for all levels. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds.

When it comes to service all other resorts can be measured against Deer Valley. From the moment you pull up to the lodge there are people everywhere to greet you and ask if they can help you with anything. The mountain has all the terrain you could ask for and due to the maximum ticket sales there is never a line. The lunch options are all first rate.

I had a great time skiing Deer Valley and my private instructor was Richard Taylor. He made my ski trip awesome, his coaching was spot on for my deficiencies in my skiing and he made exploring the mountain a great day.

We stayed in park city and drove over to see the resort and know we need to stay here on a future visit. Nice location for a summer visit!

This resort has an amazing Bike Park. It is well maintained and the trails are fantastic and fun to ride down. We got here early on a Monday and the bikes were already starting to go. We didn't make reservations online (which I would highly recommend) but since we were first in line and we had some great customer service we were still able to get 3 rentals for the day. The process was super easy, once you get your lift tickets and rent your bike you move to a new line nearby. This line is where you pick up your bike and get fitted for your equipment. The line moved fairly fast and once we got our bikes we were ready to go find the lift. The attendees on the lift were super helpful with the bikes and very friendly. Everyone wore masks but we took ours off at the top while riding but for the ski lift it was necessary. The ski lift up was beautiful with great views and once you get the top, you proceed to go on another lift even higher with phenomenal views. There are great bathroom options at both ends. I bet that before COVID this place was a lot of fun with all the restaurants but unfortunately they were all mostly closed except for a few of the outside open ones. We went on a weekday and it was pretty busy but not overwhelmingly busy. I did have some trouble on the green trails with younger riders wanting to go faster and not being as respectful and running me off the trails a few times but that is of no fault of the Resort. They put clear signs up to try to help prevent this kind of behavior. The trails themselves are absolutely thrilling and we must have done them at least 4 times. It is approximately about 45 min down on one round. There isn't many water options so bring lots of water. They over inflate everything including water at about $8 a bottle . The bike rentals were also pretty pricy but you get what you pay for. They were top of the line, in really fantastic condition. The told us that they maintain them every evening and I believe that. I have absolutely no complaints about our bike rentals! You also get knee pads, arm pads and helmet included. You do not have to pay any extra for any kind of insurance as far as I can remember. Overall this was just such a good experience and a really good bike park. We had the best day riding here and can't wait to visit Park City again and do it all over again.

I have skied at Deer Valley many times. Its always been a premium place, like Disneyland, but worth the difference. Great mountain, caring staff and nice clientele.
Three years ago, I paid $180 for a lift ticket. This week the website said, $229 which was a bit high but I thought, "This is Deer Valley, its worth it." The ticket window price now adds on tax and fees. I paid. $249.72, a 39% increase in three years.
As before, the skiing was great and the staff is very helpful. Deer Valley is just not worth double the price of other great Utah Ski Hills.

Came for drinks and live music. You have to order a snack with your drinks, the popcorn was pretty good. Drinks took a long time to come out, probably 30 minutes. Luckily there was good entertainment and also good people watching!

Feb 22. My friends canceled their $270 lift ticket because of injury and they were not charged a $50 fee. I cancelled mine also for an injury and I was told that I have to pay the $50 fee even though I explained to them my friends didn't. They don't care even though they are way overbooking lift tickets. The Limited skiiier numbers Deer Valley used to be known for so that the slopes aren't crowded and everything is very civilized is a distant memory.

Skiing at Deer Valley is unlike skiing anywhere else. From the valets who help unload your skis when you pull up, to the very organized and caring lift attendants-- I cannot say enough great things about the resort. The blues can get crowded with all levels of skiers, which can be a bit frustrating for a more advanced skier. We did find some black and double blacks without many people (both groomed and ungroomed). On my next trip to Park City-- I would try to spend even more time here.

I had the most amazing day learning to mountain bike at Deer Valley. If you go request Doug, he is the best. I signed up for the group lesson for beginning bike riders and ended up with a private lesson. It was the best experience possible. The trails at Deer Valley are impeccably maintained. They are out there with a broom sweeping the loose rocks off the beginner runs. The chair lift is so easy to use. They actually have a bike loading chair which makes it so easy to put your bike on and then the lift operators take it off at the top. I highly recommend if you have never been mountain biking before go to Deer Vally and take a lesson, you will not regret it.

This area is great for mountain biking and hiking with well marked trails. There are trails designated just for bikers and just for hikers. Restaurants and supplies are available at the mountain. You can rest mountain bikes and the necessary safety equipment, and free walking poles for hikers.

I've been skiing here since the year the resort opened and I was a child. It used to be my favorite place on earth and I was so happy to share with my own children. But it's just too expensive. It's become a place for the uber rich and it's not worth it for that - after rentals, tickets, lessons, food -- you're easily talking a thousand dollars a day for a family of four. I'd rather fly the kids to Switzerland and ski there for less.

I had always wanted to ski here and when the opportunity arose I was glad I did. I only skied one day but it was a great experience. There are a greater number of friendly staff than I have experienced at any other resort. The place is large and has terrain for all which was well groomed when I was there. It appeared that parking was limited but I was there early and found a spot easily, however when I left the lots were full and it was midweek.

We loved Deer Valley. The trails were groomed nicely and the skiers are polite. We found the skiers to be quite good and there were many young people in ski school.
One problem we encountered: Deer Valley does not seem to keep up with the number of visitors -- they could use more places to dine during the ski day.

We enjoyed immensely with our ski experience in Deer Valley. Our kids were also so happy with accessibility and complementary ski storage.

Food: Lodge food is like Mammoth resort (gone are days of slice NY steak w Bearnaise and fresh baked cookies and pies - skip it! Chili was cold!
Grooming: Grooming was terrible - not many runs groomed - in the old days Deer Valley set the standard. very few runs groomed so crowds on groomed runs was overwhelming.
Crowds: Deer Valley used to set a maximum limit - get ready to wait in lines like Vail.
Dangerous - You really need to watch out for collisions - particularly in transition areas - mountain wasn't designed for so many people. I saw 5 collisions in 5 days. Transitions across Sterling/Homestake/Sterling Express/Quincy and Transition across Quincy/Viking/Judge - watch it
Ski Pass Readers: Every lift has a ski pass reader and they work like 1/2 the time - so annoying
We skied 2 days over xmas, 2 days over Martin Luther King and 2 days (Jan 26,27) - won't go back sorry to say

Great place to ski groomed trails with family and friends. Shelled out the high price for a day pass for my family so we could ski with friends. Don’t regret it as had a great time on the groomed trails which are mostly relatively short in length. It’s fun and no snowboarders is a plus for many. Also Deer Valley limits the number of lift tickets so it’s not as crowded as PCMR or Canyons. Lift lines were less than a 2 minute wait. NOT a Vail owned resort (which some other post stated). Lunch at Snow Park was very good.
Not all trails are groomed and there are some “expert” level slopes and moguls available for more advanced skiers.

Deer Valley has a lock on customer service. You pay for it, but they do it well. Beautiful skiing, lodges, food - even the bathrooms are lovely!

Deer Valley prides itself on its exclusivity and rich clientele. A shame its facilities are so old fashioned. "Hand warming station" near bathrooms out of order; old fixtures and fitouts everywhere and way too many people on the slopes.

This was my first visit to Deer Valley. I fell in love with it, it's like skiing at a country club. The workers are so nice and so friendly. You feel very welcome and they are very accommodating. There's not too many people and everybody is very nice and skis nicely. I enjoyed not having snowboarders around. The trails are nicely groomed and the lifts are very well-run. It is a bit pricey so bring your pocketbook. I will definitely come back.
there are a lot of lips and a lot of runs. We skied Park City, The Canyons, and this was just as nice or nicer.

This resort continues to be my favorite place to ski! All levels of runs maintained perfectly! The lift lines are run well and hardly had to wait at all. Very helpful ambassadors everywhere ready to help with directions or whatever you need . Plenty of restaurant choices on the mountain for lunch. No snow boarders allowed and the limit the number of lift tickets daily! All this adds up to a great day of skiing! Excellent ski instructors also!

This was an easy drive up to Deer valley, there are many roads to take and it’s amazing all the hotels and lodges located up there. Find a parking spot and take in the views in all directions. Spectacular views and photo opportunities. I was told the road up there will close soon once the snow begins, the elevation at Guardsman pass is 8900’

We visited on the holiday week and understand prices will be higher, but over $200 for a day lift ticket was a bit much . Also very crowded [to be expected] We were told ticket prices go up the more crowded it gets. Seem like they charge more to ski less. Even our senior tickets were over $150.Seems the IKON pass is the problem according to staff.

Skiing Deer Valley is very nice !
However, with Covid rules in effect , I find it confusing. So, waiting in lift lines , the atrendants would ask 2 people ( strangers) in the singles line if it was ok for them to ride together.
However, in the regular line there were singles or doubles who would be ushered on the chair without asking if they could take others with them .Consequently, the lines were long .

The twice free daily expert tour made my vacation. They took me to the best stash and best places to ski including trees,
Chutes, and secret runs they love. I couldn’t have found these runs or ski safely without the group. I was going to go to Alta and Solitude because they got a bit more snow but the tours kept me at Deer Valley. Paying for a private day of this kind of inside knowledge would probably be $1000 or more and I would never have been able
to do this kind of skiing without the tour. I met fun and great skiers that I skied with after the tours which also was an unexpected joy. These tours are a gift to expert skiers that don’t know the mountain but want to ski it all. Thank you Trevor, Mo, Ty, Brook, and Chris- you made my ski trip
one of the best and I’ve been skiing hard for 50 years and been all over the world, but am things considered, including the money, this trip was top 10.

Great food and our server Jake was very nice. The steak and Brussels sprouts were amazing. Our chocolate cake was complimentary and was delicious.

This is such a great resort for skiers. The accommodations are outstanding. You can rent the skis right at hotel. They have a shuttle that comes every 6 minutes. The snow lodge is less than 10 minutes away. They have a small general store in the lobby and they is a breakfast buffet available as well. The bar and restaurant on site opens at 3 pm

Absolutely love skiing here - love the fact that I can ski greens and blues from the top of the mountain. Also, there's no snowboarders allowed, and there's free storage of skiis and boots. Plus, valet service carrying your skiis from the car. All the staff is super friendly as well. Best skiing ever!

Our expectations were high. Afterall, it's Deer Valley. They were known for their groomed runs and hosts up on the mountain. What happened? Not all trails are groomed. The ones that were groomed, are not any better than many places that we ski at. We never saw a single host up on the slopes.
I asked a lift operator at the top of Carpenter lift where a run was. I thought it was close. He didn't know and suggested I look at the trail map. Guess I could have pulled out my phone, but with the sunny day it is hard to see. Ok.
When you arrive mid- mountain and want to ski back to base @ Snow Lodge, you are forced to ski down a little, then take a short chair up to continue on.
We did think the food was good and expensive. But, hey, it's Deer Valley. Sorry Deer, we like Sun better.

I had heard that the downhill biking should be included with such tales as the Odyssey, the grapes of wrath or curious George. All epic tales. The trails of Deer Valley are confirmed to not just be the stuff of legends, it is real. I was there, I tasted it. (Not really, that’s a bit strange) but I was there, I rode down it and I wept with the grandeur of the vistas. The rollers, table tops, wooden bridges, compression inducing berms were majestic. With each subsequent jump I found my speed increasing and my exhilaration keeping pace told me don’t hit the brakes, don’t check your speed, the mountain will not betray you. Alas, I was betrayed but not by the mountain, Twas the tread of my iron steed. As I leaned back and pushed the bike out, the excellently maintained mountain bike with knobby tires grabbed hold of my backside as I returned to Mother Earth. I felt a tug on my shorts in seam of my buttock as the tread beckoned me down and towards the ground. I was stopped by the frame of the bike but the motion was started as the tread propelled me to forcibly pelvic bump the seatpost. The guilt I felt was great, I am a married man after all. When it was over I was astonished to be upright and make it to the bottom (pun) but I was flapping in the wind as the treads on the bike did their work.
So I guess you could say it was a pretty great day. With checking speed a little, the table tops and rollers kept a smile on my face for days after. Good work on keeping the rentals in great shape Deer valley and the trail team needs a raise, they killed it.

There are runs for every level. It never felt crowded even on the weekend. We never waited more than a few minutes on the lift lines.

Nice relaxed ambiance. No Snowboarders makes it better for beginners. Many green slopes alternatives

Deer Valley is perfect. Beautiful runs, amazing snow, friendly staff, wonderful food (don’t miss the Turkey Chili). Exactly where I want to be this spring. I love skiing in The Empire pass area, but Jordanelle is a fantastic double blue run.

Sadly, the Ikon Pass has really taken a toll on Deer Valley during the last couple of years. On any day with decent snow, the mountain is overrun with Ikon Pass holders - the lines are actually longer than at PCMR or the Cottonwood resorts. Given that the terrain isn't as interesting as the other resorts, the main attraction is an assortment of very expensive hotels and restaurants. If that's your thing, then Deer Valley is perfect for you.

THE BEST ! It is a great area to stay -ski etc
Very 1st class. We stayed st Lakeside and had great accommodations. Excellent service including transportation anywhere you want to go. It works similar to Lift. You just summon them with an app on your phone. GREAT PLACE

This was our first time to Deer Valley, it is now our yearly ski destination. Everything about Deer Valley was first class, however, nothing matched the ski school instructors and how they made our experience so fantastic. Please tell Sara and Dylan, our instructors, we thought they were very professional and a whole lot of fun!! We are now planning a return and are considering an instructor for a half day lesson each day because we enjoyed them so much. Your HR people do a great job in hiring your instructors.

We spent 5 days skiing in Park City and then added 2 more at Deer Valley at the end of the trip. DV is the premium ski-only resort where everything is just a little better than PC really. For example, the complimentary ski storage, free WiFi throughout and better food are just some of the examples. All the stuff that we encountered were super friendly and helpful, I would say that there is a great customer service ethos at this lovely ski resort.
There were less ski runs for beginners at DV compared to PC but enough to keep you interested and some of the easier blue runs are achievable by newbies too...but check before you venture onto the blue runs as the moguls on Treasure Hollow were very challenging to us less experienced skiers!
Overall, we really enjoyed this resort, which seems a little quieter than PC so if you get a chance, maybe try both...unless you have a boarder in the party that is...

Great ski adventure! Well maintained trails with limited number of tickets sold per day. Lodging options are worth the investment.

We did a guys trip to Deer Valley in early February. Deer Valley is a first class resort! The accommodations everywhere looked amazing and the restaurants that we visited were all very good. Its a quick drive down the mountain to Park City where you can hang out, eat, drink and shop.
The skiing was great! They got alot of snow just before we arrived and it dumped over a foot the day we skied DV. One of the guys was new to skiing and there were plenty of green runs for him to explore and practice his technique. The rest of us were able to see almost all of the resort in 1 long day of skiing. No snowboarders allowed...
They are limiting lift tickets and I thought they did a great job with crowd management. I didn't ride a lift with anyone that I didn't know and the longest we had to wait in a lift line was maybe 3 minutes. Crowds do form near the lodge while people are taking a break/grabbing food/etc. But on the slopes, crowds were a non-issue. Great overall compliance with masks/Covid protocol. Overall, I felt very safe.
The staff will ask you to wear your mask/pull your mask up. Follow the rules or don't go. The employees were great. Everyone I interacted with seemed happy to be there and wanted to make sure that we were having a great time.
We went snowmobiling through the resort as well. The ranch was 20-25 minutes away and we had a great 2 hour tour that had amazing long range views of Deer Valley, PCMR and the Wasatch range. Highly recommended if you want a break from skiing.

The service at the resort is second to none! Awesome runs and great instructors as well. Highly recommend little on the pricey side. Everything in Park City is pricey.

Worth the trip! High end facilities, well marked trails and chairlift signage. We experienced a perfect day topped off by a visit to Stein Erickson's lodge for his delish hot chocolate!

I went to Deer Valley for a ski trip with my family in March. The resort was beautiful, but we had a very disappointing customer service experience. My brother called the ticket office in advance of our visit and confirmed documentation requirements to verify our eligibility for the military discount. However, on arrival, the ticket office refused to honor it. Staff was unnecessarily rude and condescending in all interactions, and appeared to default to the assumption that we were attempting to take advantage of their policy versus acting on information we had received from their staff. In follow up communications to resolve this, ticket office staff was again very dismissive, eventually ignoring us despite repeated contacts. It is clear that some kind of misunderstanding occurred, but Deer Valley certainly accumulates enough revenue to honor what their staff member mistakenly told us; instead, this trip ended up costing our family hundreds of dollars more than we had budgeted. A resort that treats military families so disrespectfully needs no further business from us, our friends, or our family.

We had a great day of skiing and enjoyed a dinner at the seafood buffet. Service is always friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to go back.

I am a long time Deer Valley skier, and my trip over the 2020 New Year's holiday was very disappointing. Deer Valley was recently acquired by Alterra, a private equity venture. Alterra's approach appears to be to maximize sales of multi-resort Ikon passes, with the bling of Deer Valley's brand serving as an enticement for people to buy the pass. Regrettably, this is sacrificing what made Deer Valley a premier resort in the past. I experienced crowded slopes with high numbers of dangerous skiers. Labor costs and service levels at lifts were cut by installing automated gates, often leaving skiers to sort themselves at lift lines. Holiday pricing went through the roof to $209 per day, with the resort now assessing the sales tax on top of that price rather than including it within the posted pricing. The cost is no longer representative of the value. For those who travel with kids and teens at holidays, I would not recommend Deer Valley as a quality, safe, family skiing destination.

Deer Valley is suffering growing pains with the new Ikon pass. We are season ticket holders and I will never buy a season pass again. Got plowed into today on a black slope by an adult (I am too). He took us both out. I had a very bad fall and he got up and skied off. What made Deer Valley so special for years has disappeared.

This is a great place for ski trip! We typically ski at Beaver Creek and love it and did not know what to expect at Deer Valley. The mountain is very similar to Beaver Creek in size and runs. The one thing that is great about Deer Valley is it's proximity to Salt Lake City. This is a very easy trip from Salt Lake. Fly in and it is about a 45 minute drive to the slopes. We will definitely be back.

While in PC staying at the resort- we tacked on a few days for fun. We've never Mountain Biked before. We did some research & decided to give it a try thru Deer Valley. First impression wasn't the best bc DV lacked SIGNAGE as to the process of getting registered & the equipment. The inside staff was abrupt with giving directives to getting the waivers executed & getting the paperwork done. There was a lot of confusion on the day we were there (Thursday). Then when we went to stand in line for the equipment- the same issue. If you like getting snapped at & talked to like your stupid- then you'll be fine. I can literally say that Dan "Pa-POW" saved me from massive injuries. He was super friendly and after I was given the wrong type of bike for my skill level & wrong gloves/pads- he took care of me. Mountain Biking can be a dangerous activity- and I had the experience of being on my 2nd trip down the Green Trail of Holy Roller & taking a very nasty spill. The full Helmut & knee/elbow pads truly saved me from a more serious injury. We witnessed several folks getting hurt thru out the day. BUT- if you can "Ride your ride" and go at a pace you feel comfortable with- then you'll love it. As David skiers- this was some of the most beautiful scenery we've ever scene. Yes- I would mountain bike again- but I wouldn't recommend everyone try this activity.

Deer Valley (DV) Utah is a great resort. Well laid out, reasonable number of lifts and good mix of terrain ranging from long greens to blues to double blues plus blacks and double blacks, so something for everyone. Altitude is a bit lower than other Rockies resorts which can impact snow at the lower parts of the resort and presumably terrains that will open with the newly constructed East Village area, which is massive and will eventually double the skiable terrain available. That said, if prone to altitude sickness, DV is probably a thousand or so feet lower than places like Breckenridge and other Colorado resorts. Also nice that DV is just a 45 minute drive from SLC Airport and there are no hairy passes or long tunnels to have to drive through. Snow was adequate for our week and the resort does a good job with night grooming and snowmaking to keep things skiable as the base builds over the season. There are also some runs that are purposely not groomed, like most of the black runs off the Empire lift, and can be fun. The mountain does not allow boarders which was fine for us since my boarding kid was at school and not on this trip. Between limited ticket sales and no boarders it seems that DV is a bit calmer than say other area mountains like Park City. We were also lucky and visited during the second week of January and just missed the big crowds from the Christmas and New Years Holiday crush and just before the Sundance festival later in January (SD may be moving locations in 2026 - best to check festival date if you want to visit that or avoid it). Crowds were light and we experienced almost no lift lines at all during our 4 days of skiing. We stayed at a condo just down the road from the St Regis and that worked perfect. We simply walked up to the base lodge, or was randomly picked up by the DV ride service each day. DV has overnight ski storage for free which is very convenient if skiing multiple days like us. Lift tickets are pricy so best if you have an Ikon pass for at least 1 or more of the group since pass holders can use friends & family discounts for the rest of a party. DV limits the number of days per season for Ikon pass holders (7 for me). DV also requires skiers to reserve their ski days since they have daily limits. For weekends and holidays it’s especially important to lock in your reservation on the DV site. Note that each day must be reserved individually and for each skier on your party (tricky website). Food on the maintain was pricy, but probably no more costly than most large ski resorts. Best part is that the food is actually very good so at least you are getting good value for that pricy food. If one prefers you can alway pack a sandwich.

Should one of your ELITE PRIVATE CAR Land Rover Drivers treat another and speak to them as one did me today.....
Truly, I was parked for over an hour while meeting with a friend at Deer Valley Cafe, had to run to my car for a moment and was met by one of your drivers that pulled up behind me. He never got out of his vehicle while pointing and then yelling out the window that "YOU CAN'T PARK THERE", "YOU HAVE TO MOVE" and "YOU PULLED UP ONTO THE CURB".
1-If there are no parking spots without NO PARKING SIGNS!!! I should not have moved, but I did!
2-Top Down Management with regard to training is notably lacking. How to speak to a guest etc.
Skiing DV Since 1981, EVERY YEAR and ALTERA has lost the Deer Valley Difference.

It is an absolute marketing ploy to state that they limit ticket sales. I believe the limit is when every condo, cabin, parking lot and street stall is at full capacity and they can no longer stuff a sardine into the lodge or lift line. The service is sub-par, the lifts/runs are a joke and the price they demand is of no value whatsoever. With so many resorts in Utah, this one will rank at the bottom of my list.

I'd be hard pressed to name an area that does a better job grooming over night. Prefect corduroy awaits you first thing in the morning. Ignoring their attempt of being snotty and you can have a great day of skiing. There is alot to offer (all levels).

This is a great place to ski. So much terrain I didn't ski the same area twice in five days. Cool, no snowboards, so no deep ruts to deal with. We love Deer Valley.

Deer Valley is about the best you can get out of a ski resort. From the friendly staff, to the outstanding food and the perfectly groomed runs, it is a great experience. Deer Valley limits the amount of lift tickets sold in a day. This makes it so it does not get overly crowded.
They have complimentary ski storage at almost all of the lodges. This makes it less of a hassle dragging your skis around.
If you are a intermediate skier, I would highly recommend to try skiing some of the runs off of the Sterling chairlift. If your a beginner, Ontario off of Quincy express is a great run! If you are expert, try some of the runs of Empire express lift.
I would reccomend Deer Valley to anyone wanting a great day on the mountain. Thank you Deer Valley!

Dear Valley is a sprawling property development business, with skiing added as an amenity. It’s not a ski destination that was formed organically with an epic mountain that people decided had to be skied; rather it is a private business to sell lots of condos and houses, with the overlay of a ski experience to give it purpose. As such, the skiing is rather mid. I’ve never been to any ski place with more flat expanses that skiers have to push themselves across to get from lift to lift or even just to get from a hotel to the lift.
That said, there’s or a couple nice restaurants and places to stay, and the vibe is friendly.

This place is incredible for Mountain biking! I’ve never been skiing here, but biking is a blast! They have trails for all different levels. There are signs on every trail so you know where you are going. Lots of hikers ride up the lift to going hiking and enjoy the views as well. There really is something for everyone there. Parking is free. You won’t be disappointed!

So so mountain. Could plunk this place on the East coast and it would be a super star. There is just SO much better around here.

Deer Valley Resort was wonderful, the runs were great, and the views were spectacular. It's everything you would want in a ski-only resort. But what really sets this place apart is the staff that works there.
Our car key was accidentally locked in the trunk of our car in the parking lot. Ski School Instructor Hunter Marlon not only called AAA for us, when AAA got repeatedly delayed, he waited with us in the freezing cold weather for a total of 3 hours (AFTER his shift). He even ran late to his family dinner appointment for us. And Hunter wasn't even our ski instructor!
We couldn't have been more grateful.
The warm hospitality and patience Hunter showed us definitely made us want to come back again to Deer Valley very soon.
If you visit Deer Valley and would like an awesome person to be your ski instructor, look for Hunter!

More expensive than other mountains in the area, but worth it.
Last time we were in Park City, we skipped Deer Valley and were told by a few friends that was a mistake. So, when I had the opportunity to be in SLC, we decided to head back to Park City and ski here.
Our lift tickets and rentals were higher than many of the other places we skied, but we liked how well the resort catered to beginners. Everyone at the resort was friendly and attentive from the folks in the rental shop to the ambassadors stationed at the lifts. Even the restrooms were nicer than most places - well stocked, coat hooks, etc.
We spent the whole day on the mountain and skied almost every green they had. We loved having so many options; all of the runs were well marked and nothing was overly crowded. The snow was pretty good; not too many icy patches. The only rough part was the bottom of Success that was complete slush.
As a mediocre skier, Deer Valley is a place I'd return. There are so many options, it doesn't get boring.

It's keyed in many u.s. Canadian and one Swiss ski resort. Deer Valley tops them all.
we love the limited number of tickets, lack of ski lines come up perfect grooming, and lack of snowboarders.
food in the Deer Valley ski lodges is healthy with many vegan and vegetarian options as well.
This is truly a world-class place to relax restore and ski as much as you like!

The mountain is overall great - lots of variety and trails for people of all abilities. Had a great time with lots of powder. One thing to highlight was that (up mountain, at Empire Canyon Lodge area) you can try out the newest Rossignol skis for free for 2 hours at a time. I was in the market for new skis so it was great to have this service available. The staff there were EXCELLENT - all 3 of the people were so friendly and helpful. I am buying new Rossi skis after I tried them and loved them.

From parking lot (insane) to lodge (more insane with bathrooms called “lounges” with marble countertops and gold furnishings) to the lodges (think: salmon over a bed of rice for about $3million), the resort turns into an AMAZING playground of ski exploration once past the base area. Few people ski the trees and side country area, fortunately, so the quality is fabulous. One benefit to having a large staff is that the lifts run in a well organized way. The lifts themselves are fast and efficient. If you can get past the base and bring a pocket sandwich, it’s quite excellent skiing. The ticket prices are ludicrous. Fortunately, we were there with Ikon pass holder friends so we got our pockets picked in little less severe way (still well over $300 for two adults to ski for one day and that’s after the 25% friend discount). Overall a great day for when the Cottonwood Canyons are closed or limited due to avalanche danger.

Fabulous ski weekend. Able to negotiate the crowds during busy COVID times. Stayed mid mountain at the Chateau Deer Valley. Very happy with resort and location. Only challenge is transport to from airport. Able to Uber to resort from Salt Lake but unable to from resort back to airport. Highly recommend arranging a driver and use your hotel or resort to arrange. Cost is comparable to UBER especially during busy times.

Do no waste your money or time skiing deer valley! Worst experience ever and our family has skied for years. The ski patrol employees extremely rude and constant harassment with respect to mask over your nose. We always had a mask on and sometimes it would slip under nose while skiing the mountain and immediately you were yelled at! Even though you are outdoors and at least 10 feet away from anyone!
Worst time ever! Website even stated masks do not have to be over nose if outside and 6 feet from someone! Obviously, that was not the case

Great sking with no snow boards. Heaven! i took 2max4 lessons and learned so much and improved a lot. The instructors were so careful and understood i was a chicken. The resort is totally service oriented. If you have trouble carrying your skis or need the lift slowed they will do it. Only one thing they could do to improve. A shuttle between snow lodge and the gondola would make it easier for groups with wildly differing abilities

Winter, summer and any time in between, Deer Valley has the best facilities and the most helpful, friendly people! We went twice this summer to hike. On both occasions, while we studied the map, staff approached us to help out. Trails were well marked, mountain bikers were mostly polite to hikers. Always a great experience!

By only allowing skiers (no snowboarding) the snow stays soft and fresh almost all day. This resort is very upscale (even for park city) so be expected to pay a premium price for a premium experience. Overall, a very nice place to ski with lots of runs for all levels. Have been there 6-7x and it is never too crowded other than early mornings when the lifts first open. Beautiful, beautiful scenery.

A resort that can accommodate all levels of skiing. The runs were all very well groomed . The service throughout the resort was very accommodating. From the ski barn , to the resturaunts.

We just hiked up to the top of Bald Mountain. The info provided by Deer Valley Resorts was not clear to me until we got home and reread it.
If you are interested in hiking to the top of Bald Mountain, you have to buy a lift ticket for the Silver Lake Express to take you to the Silver Lake Village. All of the hiking trails seem to start from there. Two trails, each 2 miles long, rising 1,400 feet, take you to the top of Bald Mountain. We hiked up the Ontario path. It was not very technically difficult, but was challenging. The other path to the top is the Silver Lake path , which is also 2 miles long.
After we hiked to the top, we took the Sterling Express chair lift back to Silver lake Village and had a great lunch outside at the Royal Street Cafe. Then we took the Silver Lake express back down to the main entrance. It was a great way to go.

We completed the Silver Lake & Ontario Loops, ate lunch and sat in the provided chairs next to the lifts to people watch. We spent an entire day here and thoroughly enjoyed it.
As for safety and cleanliness, the facilities were well cared for and clean. We never once felt uncomfortable. Staff wore masks and asked other guests do the same. Bathrooms and any indoor space was very clean with visibility of consistent maintenance/cleaning.

Always a world class experience, limited lines, no snowboarding and still great grooming. Check out the NASTAR race course at Silver Lake for something different.

Deer Valley has easy slopes and more complicated ones and you can always choose what you want to do- Once you are up on the mountain you have many options and few queues so you really ski all the time you want to! There is not too much to do in DV apart from skiing but Park City is 10’ away and has everything- Deer Valley does not allow snowboarding - not a problem in my case- As all skiing resorts it is not cheap but being a senior and buying in advance is a benefit

We usually ski on the East Coast. Skiing here is such a treat. The weather is fabulous , wide trails , no ice patches , and a very forgiving mountain even the blues seems less challenging than on the East Coast. Enjoy

A family of three with two (young) seniors and an adult did a private mountain biking lesson. Roy was our instructor and he was awesome - if you are a beginner but enthusiastic about this, Roy is for you. Started out with a thorough but not at all tedious review of the features of the bikes, followed by some simple maneuvering around an empty parking area. Then in the grass, followed by a little practice course with some berms and rollers. Again, he was thorough without being in any way pandering or condescending. His instructions also had an underlying rationale "you do it this way because..." which is good teaching! Then some instruction on the lift process (it is not easy to heave those bikes up on the chair lift racks) and up we went to the summit. Of course, we did the easiest trail, which I would say was not super easy (no one's fault - that is the easiest trail at the resort). The trail was a total blast - he was again thorough and patient with us and all three of us had a great time. Then we biked down from the mid mountain to the base on roads because there are no easy trails from mid mountain on down.
Totally fun, learned a lot, had a great time, HIGHLY recommended!

Great mountain with great runs for people who are beginning. So many long greens that make your trip worthwhile.

A throwback to the days before snowboarding. An exceptional mountain with exceptional food and attention to detail to support your day on the slopes. Everyone who can should experience this mountain resort for at least a day.

We came after the snow skiing season was over but we still got a nice tour by riding the silver lake ski lift to the top. It’s a beautiful area.

I spent a week here with my eight year old son and we had the best time we’ve ever had skiing together. Great snow, great terrain, great ski school, everything I could have wanted. They exceeded my expectations.

This is a five star resort with ski on / off access to Deer Valley. Deer Valley is a premier ski mountain. On site Ski shop has excellent efficient staff with good but not great equipment. This is an expensive and exclusive resort. Property feels a little dated, but it fits the mountain setting. I think I’m in a basic room. View is bland looking into courtyard. Some in our party have upgraded rooms with Mountain View and fireplace, so I recommend you confirm the room type. Housekeeping staff is excellent. Excellent stay overall.

We live in a Colorado ski resort town and with our new Ikon Ski passes we can ski at Deer Valley. I am officially in love with this resort! It is a GREAT family ski resort - long cruiser blue runs, some easy runs, some more challenging runs. We were going to ski a couple of different resorts in Utah ... and just stayed at Deer Valley we all enjoyed it so much. The runs were “mostly” well groomed (not as much as we were lead to believe but better than Steamboat Springs) but the biggest thing we all noticed ... the ski resorts in Colorado are run by young men who are just doing their job at the chair lifts, but sadly, many of them are high. But Deer Valley had a lot of middle aged men and women working there who were above and beyond courteous and helpful and gracious! We all noticed the difference. We’re going to make trips to Utah much more frequently now. Great experience.

Nice place but simply not worth $217. Have to find a better way. Parking ok, Locker room nice. Skiing real good.

First time in Park City/Deer Valley- My wife and I stayed at the Montage and really fell in love with the Deer Valley/ Park City area. We have both visited and skied in Colorado. We are moving to Arizona this fall and can't wait to spend some time on the Mountain. People are really great at all restaurants and venues. We were in Deer Valley in August and can't wait to visit in the winter for some slope time! Thank you all for making us feel like family!

We love Deer Valley! Great place to ski. The resort is incredible, staff is friendly. We had a great trip!

We ski exclusively at Deer Valley when in Park City area every year as well as Powder Mountain. Our main reasons are #1 no snowboarders, #2 great food choices everywhere, #3 usually have great snow and slopes during the week are not too crowded and #4 I am very familiar with the slopes so less chance of me ending up on taking a wrong turn. Deer Valley used to be known primarily as having the best grooming but to me, that is no longer the case. Actually I find the grooming at Powder Mountain best. Deer Valley also used to be known for the best overall service of most ski resorts but I have found over the years the service seems to get worse every year. Younger untrained personnel who frankly just don’t seem to care if you have a great time. The lift tickets are now in La La land though I do congratulate them on selling a discount lift ticket to military and veterans which many do not. It’s really gotten more difficult to book ski lessons there as no matter what you have to book reservations weeks in advance and the day of your lesson may not be a great day to ski but you cannot change it. I have learned over the years to book lift tickets and lessons on a daily basis and on days that I really want to ski and not feel obligated to ski. The ski school also pushes private lessons to a fault. Anytime you want to book a group lesson they push the private lessons whose cost is prohibitive, around $1000 a day. For us older folks who just want to go out and ski on a flexible basis, Deer Valley does not make ski school convenient or flexible. A lot of the old-timers are now retired and gone which was bound to happen. They have a new lift ticket process to go through the gates to the lift and the kinks have not been worked out. I was stopped multiple times despite having a valid ticket and sometimes had to wait as there were no lift attendants to help. The ticket window also did not give very specific instructions on how to use the new system. Instructions were "just put it in your pocket it will do fine". It did not do fine. I really miss the good old days when great service was palpable. One of the drivers we hired recommended we try Brighton next year. Maybe we will??

A little more crowded lift lines than we’ve ever experienced at DV! Still a good experience. Very icy on Jordanelle. Wish they had lift and trail closures conditions in an app.

We took the chair lift up and around Deer Valley. VERY beautiful and a perfect landscape for mountain biking. While we didn't do it this time, we'll be back to Deer Valley and the other Park City area resorts.

We love Deer Valley - while it is more expensive than most other resorts, the trails are beautifully groomed and the views are spectacular. Attendance is capped so you never feel cramped. The ski schools and instructors are fantastic - very patient, encouraging and knowledgeable. If you are a skier, you will also appreciate the fact that the resort is for skiiers only (no snowboarders). It's a wonderful place and makes for a memorable and exhilarating vacation.

Deer Valley is really special, although they do not allow snowboarders. From the moment you arrive and you are helped with your skis you know you are in a special place. We have been coming to the area for many years and my daughter went to the nursery at Deer Valley which was really good. The food is to die for and the runs for the children through the trees makes for a truly special day.

Be prepared to spend some money and to be irritated by employees regarding mask wearing even when they standing more than 10’ away from you in their lift station and there is a freezing snow blizzard.
Kind of aggravating to have to pull off gloves in freezing snow just to pull a soaking wet mask an extra 1/2” higher up on your face when you’re already wearing goggles and a gaiter/scarf. Control. Stuff a handful of masks in your jacket for when one flies off your face on the mountain. SMH.
Also this is not the kind of lodge where you can walk in, take your coat off , get a cocoa and warm your hands at the fireplace with your kids. This is the kind of place that you must have a reservation to even get into the lodge and then if by chance they can get you in you will be paying $21 for a cheeseburger that’s smaller than McDonald’s. There are no bunny slopes no snowboarders, no real wood fires to dry your gloves, an elite albeit beautiful place. The runs are beautiful the mountains are gorgeous however next year will be going back to North Carolina for a more family feel at 1/10 the cost.

A beautiful, perfect winter vacation with great snow, friendly people and lots to so. The only negative was the arrogant, overrated spa at the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Buyer beware, they will reassign your requested and assigned therapist with no notice; a classic case of bait and switch, particularly if you are looking for a therapist with a specific skill set.

What a great experience. From the moment you arrive people are polite and helpful. Complementary ski storage. Military lift tickets are half off. Thank you for that. Lots of blue runs and some harder runs if you want them.

Definitely one of the highlights of traveling to Park City/Deer Valley was visiting the Deer Valley Resort. We were greeting and helped by Sam - who was spot-on with his recommendations to purchase the scenic pass to take us to mid-mountain/peak of the mountain and for the hike that he recommended (Silver Lake Trail). We took the chairlift up to mid-mountain and took another lift to the peak. The views were incredible from the lift and from the hike down....AMAZING!!! It was an awesome time; and can't wait to go back again to hike the Silver Lake and Ontario trails.

The facilities, lifts, and staff are all first rate. Probably one of the best run ski resorts in the USA. The food is really good too! Lots of trails for all skill levels and you never stand in line at a lift very long.

Nice town. Nice area... but find somewhere else to stay. These guys get you at every turn. And for sure, don't try cancelling reservation, and don't buy insurance... once they have your credit card.... you're done for. What a waste.

We got here later in the day, maybe around 3:15/3:30pm. Took the first chair lift up (the ride alone was fantastic). Then hiked the Silver Lake trail which is only for hikers. Mountain bikers have seperate trails. It is somewhat of a strenuous trek but the views and hike are beautiful. Some of the trail is in the woods and some is in open areas. There is quite an incline at times but also has some parts that are flatter. The last part is really challenging. We hiked to the top where the second chairlift is located just in time before closing at 5pm. Rode all the way down the mountain ( 2 different chair lifts) and it was the perfect ending after a rigorous hike. Four of us sat together. The experience was FANTASTIC!!!

Very much enjoyed skiing there for the first time. The staff on the slopes were so helpful always available to assist with advice on which runs to ski. Great skiing and we had fun competing on the Nastar slalom course. Also thought the food was better than the other resorts we’ve skied in Park City. Nice to have no snowboarders around as they are not allowed at this resort...hate to admit that, as I’ve snowboarded in the past!!

Excellence in Service, Beauty, Powder Snow & Great Mt. Food..above & beyond other ski areas.. Had a good young skier (grandaughter) with on this trip. I suggested a day of
training, as she rolled her eyes, and not too excited to have any additional training. At end of ski day, she was happy & excited about the time spent with ccoach...& they went down a few Double Blacks.. Their ski school is excellent. The Mt. town has wonderful choices of Restaurants, from affordable to all, along with more Formal & costly.. snow shoeing looks like fun, & snowmobiles as well. Horse drawn sleighs, all add to winter fun. And Summer is Fabulous as well. Cool to Cold Nights, and a heat wave is about 85 degrees for an hour or two at Heat of Day...Olympic
Park & Stein Eriksen's Lodge are wonderful to visit.

Third trip to Deer Valley in six years and extremely disappointed in their grooming. In past years, DV’s grooming was exceptional and not this time. Green and blue runs were not smooth and bumps and moguls were everywhere. If you are planning a trip here for the corduroy, think of the other great Utah ski resorts first. Alta, Solitude, Sundance, Brighton, and Snowbird were all in better shape.

There are lots of fantastic ski resorts across the world, but there is no doubt that Deer Valley is among the very best. It all boils down to two key things: a meticulously cared for resort and exceptional and enthusiastic service.
The ski runs are well groomed. They make snow almost constantly. There’s plenty of places both on and off trail to explore. The lines never get too long, because they limit the number of people. Everyone is classic. Everyone is happy. This is seriously one of the best places to ski – and I’ve tried a lot of them.

Overall it’s an ok ski resort, but as a European, I just don’t “get” the fascination that many reviewers have. DV is a very American experience, as the focus seems to be on a comfortable/luxurious stay rather than the ski-sport itself, eg, most chalets are huge “ski-in” mansions, built in the middle of the mountain which to me feels out of place and a continuation of the suburban sprawl - not an escape to nature. The day pass is comically overpriced, and when the crowds come out during peak season the wait times at the lifts can be long. Also the runs are quite short so one ends up 20 min on the lift for 5min skiing. Key target demographic seems to be corporate execs/PE guys/lawyers, wealthy pensioners and private school kids. The food options on the mountain are solid, but to really cater to the crowd, a few more business center (or locations to take zoom calls) would be desirable.

I'm a healthy senior, and I walk a fair amount at home, but I'm not really a hiker. There are no mountain bikes allowed on the Sultan loop, although horses are allowed, so there is fair amount of horse poop. Our party took the scenic chairlift ride to the Sultan trailhead, which is actually not marked very well, but there were a lot of Deer Valley staff on hand the point it out. Be sure to pick up a trail map when you buy the lift tickets. Although this trail is marked as green (for easy), the trail starts with a downhill walk down a wide dirt road, which means you have an uphill walk at the end, so save a little reserve energy for the return. At the bottom of the hill are two chairlifts, and you can choose to go further downhill on the loop, or take the easier path which has a fairly short uphill switchback, and then a lovely level trail through the woods. We walked as far as the beautiful view of the lake and vista, and then turned around so that we would have enough juice left to make it back uphill to the chairlift, One of our party used trekking sticks, and she was glad to have them.
The concierge who recommended this hike pointed out that you can have a lovely (but expensive) lunch on the patio of the Stein Erikson Lodge, near the trailhead, or the St. Regis, reached by the free funicular near the Snowpark lodge. We weren't up for anything fancy, so we just took the bus back to town and ate pizza.

Deer Valley has the best service of any ski resort - we love the fast lift loading and great trails. The food on the mountain is wonderful - pho, salad bar extraordinaire, chili, the options for lunch are numerous. Check out Cushing Cabin on the mountain for hot chocolate breaks. DV is a high end service oriented ski resort.

This is a beautiful resort with friendly staff, beautiful scenery, and wide verity of terrain, but there are some cons:
1. It’s too built up with huge mansions and other lodging going all the way to the very top of the mountain so when you are on top, you are surrounded by all the houses and residencies and don’t even feel you are on top. You don’t feel wilderness.
2. The large lodge mid mountain did not look like ski lodge at all. It had low ceiling and confusing layout with restaurant offering nothing but Pho soup taking a majority of it. There was no large room with a fire place to sit down and chill in...

Most of my family were first-timers so we signed up for lessons. The kids spent 2 days in ski school and it was worth every penny. They are amazing!! We loved all aspects of Deer Valley, food, service, instruction and environment. I highly recommend and can't wait to go back.

Skiing Deer Valley is a treat even if you have skied all over the world ! The people are extremely helpful happy and keep the resort in tiptop condition’s. We met skiers of all ages and families from near and far That love to ski And can afford it ! A typical day ticket is $180 which does not include lessons or rentals. Travel tip: the food at the lodges are better than some of the restaurants. The lodges have a great selection serve beer but no wine ?? Why???? Lunch can run between $20 and $30 Per person . Highly recommend a lunch stop or Apre ski at JG Grill in the St Regis.

Great conditions, fantastic weather, groomed trails were second to none. The only problem too many trails, too many fast lifts, short or no lift lines....

Skiing doesn’t get any better than this. Flying in and out is easy. Easy trip from airport to the slopes. Best skiing in the U.S. Skiing includes a wide range of easy to expert. Nicest staff and best guests anywhere. If you haven’t been here, you owe it to yourself and your family to give it a try!

Gorgeous, well kept home in Deer Valley Resort. Stayed for 10 days in June. Saw a moose cow & baby walk right in front of the porch!

Had a great time snowmobiling with friends. Our guide Landon was super nice and professional. He picked us up promptly at the agreed time, drove us to and from our adventure and made sure we were all safe and had fun the entire time! I would highly recommend this outfitter for a great snowmobiling experience.

Runs are no longer groomed. Slopes are dangerously crowded. They say that they are still limiting ticket sales but I have not skied on runs this crowded since skiing in the Midwest. I am sad to have to leave this review after skiing at Deer Valley for 32 years. It was one of my favorite places in the world to visit. It was always an expensive lift ticket, but it was worth it for the experience. Now prices have soared but the benefits of skiing at Deer Valley have disappeared.

Deer Valley is probably the best resort in the US. The conditions are unmatched. The infrastructure is amazing. And the service is incredible. It is hard to find anything to complain about at all. Having said that, a visit to DV is a big investment and the ticket window prices are absurd. Recommend getting the Ikon Pass if you want to visit.

Beautiful ski area and friendly staff. The mountain hosts helped navigate the large ski area with the mixed abilities of our family. Huge crowds on the holiday weekend but many lift had short lines and very organized crowd control. We where lucky and had fresh snow to ski. Definitely want to go back

Excellent, fun, cozy, safe , convenient, affordable.Alot to do.close to everything.Staff very accommodating.
The resort, has thought of everything.

UTAH symphony plays with visiting artists in the magnificent outdoor amphitheater. It’s a beautiful setting. The only drawback is there is only beer sold at the concert, if you want wine or a mixed drink you have to bring it yourself. So pack a picnic, bring a blanket or chair, and enjoy the symphony in the mountains.

Deer Valley has committed to providing a safe and enjoyable day at their resort. We had a great day skiing and had lunch in one of the isolated and socially distanced outdoor covered dining spots at Silver Lake

Deer Valley cuts off the sale of lift tickets before it gets crowded. We went over the Martin Luther King weekend. The parking lots all looked full, yet we never waited for more than three or four groups ahead of us in any line. And it is skiing only. No snowboards. Terrain for all skill levels. The architecture of the houses and facilities is beautiful.
It is easier and faster to get from Southern California to Deer Valley (or any of the other ski areas near Park City) than it is to get to Mammoth. You can leave LA on a Friday night, ski all day Saturday and Sunday, and be home Sunday night.
Highly recommended. Like all skiing these days, it is expensive. Deer Valley is one of the more expensive.

We are from the Northeast and found the snow here to be perfect. Deer Valley has skiing for everyone. I am more of a cruiser and my husband is more aggressive and we could ride the same lifts and find trails we both loved. The facilities are beautiful. The food and dining is very high quality. Yes you pay for all of this but the quality is so high it is worth it. We will be back.

It used to be 'special'. It's a 'typical' ski resort now. NIce mountain, but the parking lot it full of potholes and the lodges are pretty tired. Grooming was good, but nothing special. The resort is living off it's reputation, but disappointing if you are looking for a special experience. That said, they are planning a gigantic expansion in the next year. Maybe it'll get a new start.

This place is AMAZING!
Coming from the Midwest, I don't have a lot to go on for skiing experiences. But I've been skiing in Colorado multiple times, and a few year ago, I went skiing in the Italian Alps. Somehow I think I like Deer Valley the best! It felt like the skiing equivalent of Disneyland.
The resort is huge. I couldn't believe the sheer size of the place and the number of runs -- all with a great variety of greens, blues, and blacks. There was a mix of steep runs and winding runs, and everyone in my family (from beginners to pros) felt appropriately challenged. There are also so many restaurants built in along the slopes that we never got bored with the lunch and après ski options! We skied for three days but easily could have stayed for a week.
Yes, it's pricey. But the quality matches the money. I'd come back in a heartbeat and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Deer Valley for a ski vacation!

Went to Snow lodge and purchased lift tickets for two lifts that you end up at top of Bald mountain, in summer is full of bikers and hikers, in winter of course skiers. When we returned down mountain, then we walked over to The St Regis took the funicular up to the Bar where I had the best Burger ever and my wife the mussels, it was expensive but worth it, the views spectacular

Love skiing here since the "no snowboards" keep the trails from being shaved off. Also, appreciate the quietness of skiing. Staff is nothing but friendly and accommodating. Lots of great places to eat. And great snow! Love this mountain,

I had an enjoyable day on the groomers. Great place for mid-level skiing, though very expensive. I am always puzzled by the lift line system, surely they do not need a person managing the line at each lift.

Deer Valley has been rated one of the best ski resorts in the US for many years. The new ownership has turned it into a very mediocre ski destination. The ski lifts are in constant disrepair and getting stuck on a chairlift for 10-20 minutes is nor uncommon.
Last Christmas Eve 160 skiers were stranded for 2 hours in freezing conditions. This week EVERY CHAIRLIFT HAS BEEN STOPPED OR COMPLETELY OUT OF ORDER ! ! A very dangerous place for young children to ski.

The mountain was stunning. When we were their, the snow fall had not been abundant so the man made snow was fairly icy. However it snowed on our last day of skiing (3). Most trails and lifts were open. It was fun to explore the different areas of the mountain and made sure to hit almost every local on the mtn for midday snack/beer etc. my only complaint is with the snow coming in the last day, we asked about extended be additional day either full or half day, but they will do it if they treated it as a new reservation meaning we would not get the consecutive day discount. I found this appalling seeing how 2 (3) day lift tickets at deer valley was $400 more than park city. Just know this going in. Beautiful area and no snow boarders.

We were just in time to catch the end of the ski season. Kept hearing how great the experience is in Deer Valley, but living in LA with Mammoth Mountain near by, we were not in a rush to visit. As Ikon pass holders, we came across a promotion that made it very attractive to come to Deer Valley. The reservation process was very easy ( combination of over the phone and online). If this is your first time, I encourage you to call instead of trying to figure out where to stay. Speaking with a representative was so helpful and it saved me so much time. I used to be in the Travel Industry, so I appreciate even more coming across well trained employees. They were so knowledgeable and patient, going over many details and making sure that no question was unanswered. It’s because of them, we felt so confident in the choice of accommodation we made. Our experience was nothing short of fantastic. It was an easy 1.5hr flight from LAX to Salt Lake City. We opted out to arrange our own transportation from the airport to the resort. It took about 45 min to get there. Since we arrived in the morning and check in is not until afternoon, the resort stored our luggage, we changed and were out skiing by 11 am! The recurring theme in Deer Valley is service and great hospitality. Nature is fantastic but without the people working there, Deer Valley will not be the same. Will definitely return!

What a wonderful skiing experience. No crowds, no snowboarders. Delightful lunch on top of the mountain, so amazing.

I recommend Deer Valley for anybody looking for an amazing ski experience.

We loved everything about Deer Valley resort. The ski lessons were fantastic and Ski school for our kids was perfect. We can’t wait to come back next year.

My Experience:
Lift attendants generally do not control lift lines and simply permit lift line bullies. It has been ongoing for years. Management knows and don’t rectify.
Ski school simply fly in front of their students without much regard about their pupils.
They seem to “ski” as an alternative to “teaching.”
Folks ski too fast and beyond their ability.

We love deer valley for skiing. Come every year. Not as busy as park city. Groomed runs. Very good instructors.

Been skiing for 50 plus years, Deer Valley is the best mountain I have skied. Plenty of green (crusier) trails. Some challenging blue runs to spice it up. The Gondola was a refreshing break from the outdoors. High end everything. The employees went above and beyond.

If you are looking for the best hotdogs on the planet then this is the place to go. They have outstanding food options with vegetarian options for those who need it and you get served very fast.

if you like groomers and being pampered this is the best ski resort in the US. There are also some nice challenges on both sides of the upper mountain and some great tree skiing. Food is top notch also.

This is deffinitely our favorite ski resort in the US after skiing in about 20+ resorts. No snowboarders here. Staff are professional and respectful. Terrain is amazing. Snow is the best on Earth (of course Utah snow is the best 😉 ) Food is decent (not like in European resorts), but for US one of the best food choices. We keep going back every year.

Had a blast with the family, but mostly rode the the 'green' Holy Roller trail for most of the day. This is the only green trail and most of the blues had jumps and/or very technical. Would love to see them add more 'flowy' and less technical trails. Also, be sure and rent a 'downhill' bike for more fun and safety. The conventional mountain bike are too light for anything other than Holy Roller. Lastly, be sure and reserve bikes early. All of the local bike shops were out of downhill bikes and we had to take what we could get.

My family stayed at the St Regis and chose Deer Valley to ski. I’ve never been before so I signed up for a lesson and was fortunate to get Scott Lackey as an instructor. He was incredible, so patient and made the whole experience a 10/10. I spent the rest of the afternoon after the lesson skiing on my own and trying out his tips and suggestions and I felt so comfortable and had such a great time. My kids also enjoyed the Adventure Club and couldn’t wait to go back a second day. Great experience for the whole family!

Deer Valley Resort does not allow snowboarders. Our group was half skiers and half snowboarders who all wanted to ski together. Shame on you DV!

Deer Valley Resort in Park City Utah is a ski only resort with daily grooming of trails and plenty of chutes and glade skiing for the more advanced and adventurous skiers. Great place to learn, awesome Ski School and facilities are all world class.

Came here for 3 days. The conditions were good but not great we have some snow and wind. The trials are in excellent condition and sling here is fun. I am an average skier and had many runs to choose from. The service is also very good and the food choices are better then average. Over all I would recommend coming here although a life Ridley is $200 per day!!

We have been skiing Park City and wanted to do a day at Deer Valley (was there 10 years ago). Granted it was a school holiday week but the place was jammed. Lift lines were long (even if they tried to be efficient). I heard several people remark that since the resort was bought by another company, customer service has deteriorated. That was evident. The food on the mountain was good but very pricey. A fountain soda at Park City comes with unlimited refills. At Deer Valley, no refills. The one positive thing is that snowboarders are prohibited. This helped keep the groomed runs in decent shape all day - no boarders scrapping the top power away. We had a great time skiing but left feeling that it was neither worth the effort or the high prices.

Spent a beautiful summer riding the lifts and hiking down. Very nice place to hike and ride mountain bikes. Would highly recommend a summer visit !!

My family has owned a home in Park City at the base of Deer Valley since 2005. I lived in Park City, worked for The Park Record and also sat on the Chamber of Commerce. I’ve been in sales my entire career and absolutely nothing gets past me! I’m very thorough and deeply love this town. Deer Valley’s adventure summer camp is highly sought after and my children have attended this great camp previously. It books out fast so you have to be on top of booking! I called in January and they said they were not taking reservations for camp at that time. I went skiing with my kids in February at Deer Valley where my kids used the childcare services again and spoke to the childcare services rep in person begging them to send me an email or add me to the summer camp list as I didn’t want to miss out on booking!!! They said they were not taking reservations at the time and to look for an email. I never received an email from Deer Valley explaining it was open registration time. I called today asking when I would be able to register and guess what, it’s full!!! And, they sent out an email last month that I never received! I wasn’t on the list! For a longtime patron of the town and the resort it’s extremely disappointing that even with all of my efforts my family was overlooked and completely left out! How?! Bad management unfortunately. I spoke with Laura in the head of reservations and she was sure to tell me I held responsibility and should have called in February instead of speaking to someone in person. It makes no sense. Poor excuses. Our vacations completely hinge on childcare and unfortunately this has now ruined our trip!

I rarely give a bad review but our experience last week in Deer Valley was horrible and not worth the $289 ticket price at all. I have been to Deer Valley twice before, once 7 years ago and then again last year. Service and experience at those times was wonderful and it felt like a really special place. This time NOT AT ALL.
#1- base locker room was crazy busy, with people everywhere
#2- there are 2 lifts at the base that take you mid mountain, 1 was closed ( something about too much snow) so lines to even start your ski day were 20 minutes long
#3- the Empire lift was only running every other chair ( again supposedly due to snow) so lines again were over 20 minutes
#4- dining was ridiculous and not what I remembered, last year there was enough staff to clear your trays, no one did it this year. The infamous Turkey Chili- 1/2 the size as last year and still $17
Now you are probably thinking I was there on the weekend? Nope this all occurred on a Thursday so I can only imagine the chaos on the weekend
Save your money and go somewhere else, we were told that Sun Valley was bought out last April, seems they have cheapened the whole experience and do not care about making your experience extra special!

Much too overcrowded. Plenty of time to review while waiting so far out in line there is just a cluster of frustrated people. This is my 30th year skiing Deer Valley and it is disappointing that the once friendly staff is now reduced to employees yelling at patrons for crowd control purposes.

Overall, Deer Valley Ski Resort stands as a beacon of luxury and excellence in the skiing world. Its unparalleled service, meticulously maintained slopes, and luxurious accommodations make it a destination of choice for those seeking an unforgettable mountain retreat. Whether you're a seasoned skier or a first-time visitor, Deer Valley promises an experience that exceeds expectations at every turn.

Many out of control dangerous skiers. Ski Patrol makes no effort to control this disaster. After 2 close calls, I was hit from behind by a reckless speeding skier. Suffering multiple fractures and a brain bleed, I am luckily on my way to recovery.

Our family loves skiing in Deer Valley. The trails are well-groomed and capacity is limited, making for a relaxing ski day. The food is excellent, instructors are friendly and knowledgeable. Everything is top-notch. We especially love the concierge service for ski storage and the variety of terrain.

The staff here is exceptionally welcoming and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. They will start chatting with you, will hand you tissues, or even zip up your jacket
Deer Valley operates on a ticket lift pass system (not electronic card scanning) which encourages interaction between staff and skiers
Deer Valley also has beautiful slopes varying in difficulties so it is suitable for everyone. The food is delicious too and has an expansive array of options for every preference.

Deer Valley is a great place to ski and I would go back, however, there is a couple of things management could do to make it even better.
1. I would say 90% of people(families) heading up the chairlifts are looking for green or blue runs. This leads to overcrowding on those runs and the very expansive black diamonds see just a few skiers heading down them. This is primarily due to the black diamonds being 100% mogul fields. If they groomed the black diamonds, which aren't really that steep, so that only half the hill had moguls you would see everyone spread out more reducing the crowds on the blues.
2. Many of the chairlifts are missing padding on the back of them so you are sitting against steel bars which is not only uncomfortable but can be quite cold on those frigid days. It's really not too much to ask to replace the padding that was once there given the premium price of a ski pass.

At Deer Valley it is not just skiing or summer programs, it's being treated like a guest and not just a customer or client. Great activities pretty much year around in an area that could be called the greatest show on earth. You can honestly say you haven't been treated better at any resort in the US or Europe. Bring the family, bring the friends and of course bring your appetite.

We spent a day here during the week doing lift accessed mountain biking. It was not crowded at all and their were trails for everyone. We had a ton of fun. I would definitely go back.

We love Deer Valley for lots of reasons:
(1) GREAT staff at every location (lifts, equipment check, restaurants, you name it).
(2) No snow-boarders. Sorry, but this old lady has been knocked down by boarders several times, and now I dread the sound of a boarder behind me, I hope DV keeps their no-boarders policy.
(3) Runs that are groomers on one side, bump runs on the other. Lost Boulder is a good example. Why don't more resorts do this?
(4) Best on-mountain food ever.
(5) Free overnight ski and boot check + free parking lot shuttle = LHF skiing. (LHF=Low Hassle Factor, a prime criterion for a great vacation.)

We purchased lift tickets in advance. The parking was far away, but the shuttle was fast and delivered us back to the lodge. We appreciated the friendly staff stationed at the top of each lift by the map to help us choose our paths down based on individual preferences. The grooming was excellent. Our favorite spot was the view from Homeward Bound. Easy to navigate. Actually had good food in the lodge.

I skied Deer Valley back-to-back with Park City at the beginning of March and this is my favorite resort to ski. I've been skiing on and off since I was a child, but I'm not a very adventurous or thrill-seeking skier at Deer Valley was perfect. There's plenty of options, so people in our group who were more advanced could find plenty of more difficult terrain, but I was perfectly happy to take my time and take in the scenery. It's gorgeous, well-maintained and I love that it's skiers only.

We absolutely loved Deer Valley! Was it ridiculously expensive? Yes it was… But it was actually worth it! The facilities are amazing. The staff were very professional and efficient. The food at the restaurants was great and the skiing was EPIC! Great terrain for all levels. Fast lifts. Plenty of parking. Can’t wait to return.

I was here with a group of friends it was a flat out blizzard. The staff is over-the-top helpful. The food is great and they don’t allow snowboarders on the mountain. Skiers only kind of nice! Sorry to my snowboarder friends. If you’re in Utah to ski this is a must visit.

I love skiing at Deer Valley with our family (3 children) especially that it is a ski only environment. My children are much safer learning in a skiers only environment. We vacation here twice a year and love it so much. Memories to last a lifetime!

Just got home from Park City and wanted to review Deer Valley Resort. We took their 2 lifts to the top of the mountain and after admiring the 360 degree view, several of our party hiked down the 2 miles back down the the mid way point. being from Michigan, they said it was a hard hike, not easy for people from the flat states. People mountain biking everywhere and a couple of us ever tried that later in the week. Did a guided beginner mountain biking tour that was very steep and my brother in law went flying over his handle bars on one point. He survived.

Deer Valley is all about service and 1st class amenities. We love the groomed hill, ease of access and amazing food throughout the resort.

Deer Valley is paradise. The best service, lodging and food at any ski resort in the USA. It is renowned for its groomed trails and 5 star service but the tree skiing is where you will find me.

The dining service has gone downhill significantly. Mariposa clearly cut costs with a total change in the menu from a few years ago. (The insiders said it never made money but the new owners want everything to make money.) The Brass Tag website description says, "including . . . lamb, steak and burgers" but none of these show on the online menu. All the restaurant menus have a code at the bottom for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free, but no menu items are marked with these so how do you know which if any can be eaten by those with a restricted diet? You can't call the restaurants directly but only the central reservation line and they don't know anything about the menu items. If you have a food preference or allergy, you have to take your chances, bring your own, or leave the resort to eat. This is very disappointing for what was formerly a five-star resort.

Everyone is Happy. Everyone is Excited. Everyone wants to help. Deer Valley is Interested in you as the customer having a great time. They know how to do it!

Awesome place, great grooming and terrific customer service. They are short on staff this year and seem a bit strained. The Ikon pass has also caused more crowds but I guess folks know a good thing and want to partake. Be prepared to pay up as the lift tickets and food prices have gone sky high. You get what you pay for though. Still deserving of the top rating but they are teetering and need to get some stuff fixed fast to stay there.

I have been skiing for 16 years at DV. Things have slid since the sale and this year is really, really bad. They fired the former GM (probably because he wasn’t profit focused, simply a person who tried to maximize the quality of the experience). Lots of snow, but normally groomed runs not touched for several days. The entire mountain where the St, Regis is has not been opened. Since they have already sold all the tickets for the year, the goal is clearly to minimize expenses.
No explanation, apology or certainly credit for a sub-standard experience. I am sure that they will pull out the excuse of a labor shortage, but why does a labor shortage not lead to a discount? A labor shortage appears to be a maximization of profits strategy.
Shame on Alterra.

It’s all true, folks, and more. Excellent conditions, wonderful support from local merchants and the ski instructors, courteous and well-trained staff, and a whole bunch of excellent restaurants in many price ranges within a few hundred yards. Pretty idyllic.

I've stayed in hotel's in the most exotic of places, but Deer Valley Resort is only second to my vacation in Switzerland. I was there at the end of September and the tree's had just begun their transition to Fall. The mostly green mountain forest was punctuated with random patches of auburn and gold, signaling that Fall is on the way. Deer Valley at ANY time of the year is beautiful and full of experiences and things to do. Don't dismiss Deer Valley Resort as just a winter wonderland. Spring, Summer, and Fall in Deer Valley is just as spectaculr as the Winter.

I liked that it was ski only. We arrived just as Sundance was ending. The crowds were non existent, partially due to the cold temps. I would for sure come back to ski. Great service at the resort. Lots of workers willing to help with questions.

Everything they say about Deer Valley is true! It's a wonderful resort with tons of trails and quick life lines. Only complaint is the cost!

Lines too long. Crowded everywhere. Food quality and service poor. Tired resort. I went to Deer Valley yesterday and it was incredibly crowded on the slopes and everywhere. Also, went to Apres at Snow Park. We had to order our Deer Valley Chili 3 times. First two times the server forgot to place the order. When it did arrive it was lukewarm warm. Very small portion than what is was in the past. No real apology from the server(s). The whole process took a very long time. This resort is very tired, from the floors, decor, etc. The ski conglomerates Alterra and Vail (Ikon and Epic passes) have ruined the value and joy of skiing. I wish congress would make them break up as they are now a monopoly, charging too much and offering less. Very disappointing in all aspects.

Luxury Ski Resort minutes from Main Street in Park City. Snowboarders take heed, it's skiing only on this side of the mountain. Lifts were well maintained with tons of staff- I even got a snowmobile ride to my hotel when I missed the last chair home. I did have a few minor gripes: the greens on this mountain were always busy to downright crowded with new skiers. I can see why they would want to learn here with it's excellent staff, but for a seasoned skier it was frustrating to ski around so many with poor ski-etiquette. I had to scream 'on your left' several times to people unaware they had to share the mountain. Unfortunately, I think this also goes with the crowd. This is an exclusive environment, and many seemed enamored with their own navels, if you catch my drift. Missing was a sense of fun that I find at other resorts: the bar doesn't open until 2:30pm, no music on the patio. I don't want a spring break experience, but dare I say that I missed the boarders in the mix?

Deer Valley is by far the premier ski location in Utah and probably the US. No snowboarders, best grooming and best service all equal an unmatchable trip.

Conditions were fab! This is my second time here. I wish more of the mountain was open. They have plenty of snow.

I’ve been coming every year since I was a kid, maybe 35 years. So great to come back with my kids but its completely gone downhill.
We use to be fine with higher cost, getting a premium product. No longer the case. Christmas is busy every year and at every top resort but this year was bananas. Morning trying to get out off base was ridiculous. People carrying skis up the mountain to get into huge massive lines. Silver Lake Express was a lift for beginner skiers or if Carpenter was packed. Line went up past Success and up mountain. Im guessing they are learning the lesson of Jackson Hole and the impact of Ikon. Get rid of Ikon or limit with reservations.
Also we no longer go down to Main St which was half of the fun. Have a dinner reservation at 6:30, better plan on 1:15+ to drive the 4 miles. Not hyperbole, did it last two years in a row. Only two roads down and they lead to the same rotary. They’ve added so many hotels and condos over the past decade, added some terrain but no where near the ratio needed. Please don’t let that development go through or don’t let it connect to DV. Will bring sub-par runs, especially early season, faces sun and short runs.
PS. Im part of problems, my family of 6 have converted to Ikon as it pays for itself in 4 days and can ski back east. I would gladly buy direct from DV. Also we eat lunch at house, can only imagine lodges. There are a lot of great people working really hard but the “high end, limited tickets” is completely gone.

As a beginner/intermediate skier from the East Coast, it was perfect for my dad and I!! We could ski the greens and blues fairly easily after a lesson. The powder was great and the slopes were very well kept. It was the nicest place I’ve skied in Utah, or anywhere! It wasn’t too crowded and the best part- no snowboarders! The staff was kind and helpful and it was cool to see the World Cup skiers on the same slopes!

It's changed and the staff admit to it. Food is average and so is the rest of it. It used to be in a class of their own but not anymore.

As a fairly new skier I thought this mountain was great for my skill level. I went with more advanced skiers and they enjoyed as well. I will definitely go back but at times the first slops can be a bit crowded but that just shows how popular the resort can be. Ski only resort so its nice not worrying about the boarders. On a food note you must try the oatmeal cookies! The price for an all day lift ticket is expensive but overall worth it. There are great stops for food.

Our experience was this - Employees of Deer valley ski area smoking marijuana in the Parking lot - we heard the employee say - i work at deer valley . We decided to go to another ski area that day due to marijuana smoke and what we heard from the worker.
The next day we decided to ski at deer valley -.our experience was this -.lift line operator commanded or almost yelled at skiers where to be in line or who to join on a chair ride . Seemed very hostile towards the high priced ticket holders were skier were treated . We also observed skiers indirectly targeted to of using someone else’s ski pass - as names were barked - out by lift operators as they were in ski line and they are in trouble using there own paid ski pass. Constant hawk eye lift checkers and large letters on computers pass holder identification check . Very weird any ski area I operates like this seems deer valley ski resort created a hostile ski environment created by ski area and how they treat paying public for ski tickets or ski passes
During our stay we skied at other ski areas called Alta and Snowbird. These ski areas were many times better skiing and employees were more friendly or enjoyable or had better management. We felt more comfortable here and these areas had better service and snow and management . Both ski areas get highest score with human resource management as most kind fun employees are found here.

The mountain itself is just flat out poor. Compared to tons of other resorts I have personally skied - vail, Aspen, whistler, beaver creek, Alta, park city - the runs here are short, very short, and relatively narrow too. In many instances up mountain, you cannot ski to the bottom. You literally have to take lifts to get down the mountain! I have never seen that! Anywhere! Ever!
And Deer Valley does not groom! I cannot believe this. I am there right now and tons of intermediate blue runs are not groomed. This is what DV is known for??
Lastly, the people. To be clear, we met plenty of nice folks. BUT there are more obnoxious jerkoffs from Cali/Tx/Ny than I care to see. And unlike the other mountains I mentioned, many of these spoiled brats can’t even ski and u get off all over the mountain!
What a crushing disaspoimtment.
Deer Valley, I have no idea how you keep this scam going but my friends and I will never be back.

Started at Snow Valley Lodge, hiked Tour Des Homes trail. We were told intermediate and was 2.5-3 miles and would take about 1.5 hours. Trail also allows bikers, saw lots of bikers, no other hikers. Quite a few steep climbs but they were coupled with flat terrain so not terrible. Took the four of us roughly one hour. Lots of cools homes along the way (we assumed this is why it’s called Tour Des Homes), my favorite was the best house. Was alittle confusing of where you’re hiking at times, need more signs. If you hike up, tram ride back down is free. Overall took about 2 hours total.

I went skiing for the first time in my life here. I took two days of group lessons, and was lucky enough to have Allen both times as my teacher. He is an exceptional ski instructor. Thank you so much Allen! See you next season:)

The resort had a 21 inch base while I was there. However, 90% of the named runs had great coverage and the grooming and snowmaking teams did an amazing job keeping up the runs in sub optimal conditions. If you want to rip groomers all day and work on your carving, this is the place! Also great place for people of all levels as there is something for everyone and there is an easy way down from almost every peak. The service here is amazing, for instance every resort map has a mountain host stationed at it to ask questions of and have them point out things on the map. Every lift line has kleenx. Think 5 start hotel meets ski resort. That is Deer Valley.

It is great to ski where the snow boards don't plow all the snow out of the middle of trails and groomed slopes. The conditions were great and I can't say enough about how nice the staff was. Ticketing, storage, lifts, lost and found everyone I encountered were overly nice and friendly.

Deer Valley is just the best place to ski in the entire world. The best staff, tissue boxes at every lift line, fast moving lift lines, tons of variety in slopes (many greens, blues, and blacks), perfectly groomed slopes, nice ski school program, and amazing food. Everything at Deer Valley is perfect!
This is why I keep coming back year after year, due to the fact that it is flawless and the best mountain in the entire world.
I love coming here!
(*When staying here, a great place to stay is The Lodges at Deer Valley)

Great skiing. Not too crowded. Good on mountain food but a bit pricey (duh). Staff workers always very helpful no matter any question. This resort being part of IKON really takes some of the sting off the prices.

I really find it difficult to understand why Deer Valley is put on such a pedestal. We were their over MLK and I understand they cant control the weather but with the runs nothing but ice and the amount of people on these runs accidents were occurring everywhere. Unfortunately my 9 year old had a bad accident on a run that was extremely dangerous (she's fine) and should not have been open- that same run was CLOSED the next day!!! The lift system is extremely inefficient and frustrating to get around the mountain having to ride up and down several lifts just to get to certain areas. On a positive note I would like to give a shout out to ski patrol who we had to call- they could not have been any more professional and concerned with my daughter and handled the situation brilliantly (PLEASE PAY THEM WHAT THEY DESERVE)

Staff was friendly, lift lines were either non existent or only up to 15 minutes, we had good snow, almost no wind, and good signage for finding your way around the mountain. We really loved the complimentary ski storage overnight which made going to and from the mountain easier. We skied Mon-Fri so cannot say what the weekends are like. We ate lunch one day in the lodge, a bit pricey.

I have been coming to Deer Valley for 12 years. I come to ski 3 times a year plus twice more during the summer and fall. I have a season pass I am staying at Deer Valley for 2 weeks, I leave on Saturday. Since last year I noticed the experience was not the same, this year it has been very bad. I am very disappointed.Over New Years week they lost control of the crowds due to the iKon Pass. Long lines everywhere. The grooming has been sub par. The runs at Flagstaff, where always well groomed. This time I have not seen the runs once well groomed, plus they do not groom all the runs anymore at Flagstaff, maybe 2 or 3 each day.
The portions at the different lodges are much smaller for the same price. Menus have been reduced, no more salad bars...the food quality is not the same anymore.
On most lifts tissues were not refilled and by 11 am there were no tissues on lifts
Bathrooms toilet doors have not been given any upkeep for years, they look old, I even saw one on the floor. You had to look for soap in various stations before you found one that had enough soap.
All of these are small details that keep adding up and reflect Alterra is not interested in customers anymore but they are just looking to have more profits.

I was referred by a client that is an avid skier to Kip at Cole Sports Deer Valley. I have difficulty finding boots that are comfortable for my calves. He was really knowledgeable & helpful in finding the right boots for me & making adjustments to find a comfortable fit. He also looked at my knee alignment & made adjustments to make my right turns feel much easier. WOW! I would recommend anyone needing new ski boots to visit Kip. I couldn’t be happier!

Lots of Blue.runs for young kids and families and grandparents.
Not crowded. No snowboards.
Nearby high end ski runs at Snowbird .Utah
For the teens and aggressive skiers.
Euro style runs at Alta Utah. No snowboards.

We have been skiing for 30 + years and we have to say this was the worst experience to date. Being told your face mask was not high enough when it literally couldn’t go higher was all we could take. The ski patrol and line monitors were some of the rudest people you could imagine. It’s ok to sit in a restaurant and eat without a mask but not ok to be outside six feet away from anyone and not have your mask smothering you. I was told if the tip of my nose was showing that I could be asked to leave. It’s nothing but a control issue. We will NEVER return to Deer Valley even if it was a free trip!!
Don’t waste your time or money coming here.

This place has way too much hate. My family and I were paused on a deserted, wide open ski run. A couple, about age 50, skied by and yelled at us, “Stupid, ***ing, ikon idiots!” What a strange insult. If you’re burning with anger, you've apparently got buddies at this resort. We prefer a place where humanity all gets along. Life is about more than efficient chairlifts and tasty hamburgers.

Booked a skip trip here based on the strength of the Trip Advisor reviews. I've heard people refer to this place as "swanky" but the price tag is only slightly more than other top tier resorts and you get what you pay for. I was most impressed with how they controlled crowds (this was during Christmas break.) They limit the number of tickets they sell and you can tell.
The longest lines you will likely experience are the first ride of the morning (because everyone is queued up early.) This is the opposite of what I'm used to at most ski resorts where lines are low early in the day and build to unbearable levels as the day goes on. Saturday was a bit busier than the weekdays. It was the only time we noticed lines at all and this was around 11:00 AM just before lunch. We took an early lunch and then it was back to minimal lines (we're talking 2-3 minutes max) after that.
I prefer to ski blues and there were tons of those here. I was actually very impressed with the greens. A little more zip to them than what I'm used to on the East Coast. My son and I had a great time on those as well (and we usually skip those back home.)
We went to Breckenridge a while back and this was much better. Closer to the airport, much better service and no crushing altitude problems.
AMAZING winter wonderland!!!
Deer Valley employees work hard to make DV wonderfully safe (from Covid) and also to make our stay comfortable and FUN!! I was in DV for nearly 2 months and wish I could have stayed longer!!! The skiing (& hot tub afterwards) was fabulous!! Awesome memories!!!
