3 of 25 Best Attractions in Pismo Beach

Even if you just swing by to take a look, the rock formations are super cool to look at. If you actually get out and enjoy the area, the various viewing spots gives you some great photo opportunities, and if you actually walk down and climb around the rocks, even more fun as you can get closer to seeing seals, birds and other various interesting things.
We loved it so much, we came here both days of our trip.

This little park is kept up so well, restrooms are very clean and just love that it's so convenient with live Music starting next weekend 👏

I visited this place assuming some thing historical would be there .
However, I was disappointed to see a small garden with few small statues.
the sea shore and rock formations are nice. You can see few people kayaking around the caves . This place also provides nice view of Pismo beach.
Thats all. nothing else spectacular.
If you are short on time, rather you can avoid this place..

Nice strolling local park.. But we do have events.. I love the Art in the park the first Sunday of each summer month.. I always find the crafty or artisan gift I need!

This park was next to our hotel. A great walk for my dog and I. We really enjoyed this area of Pismo beach!

Prepare to stroll about to people watch, kyak watch, ocean watch. Don't inhale the fresh scent of guano as you near the cliffs...unless you like that fresh beach-y smell that the pelicans and seabirds like to leave behind. Take your binoculars. Sometimes there are photographers and weddings occudding in the little coves. Crash a wedding and congratulate the brides along the way.

Nice view of the ocean on a clear day. Park does art and concerts, I believe once a month. If you have small children they will enjoy the play area. Parking is tough on event days, you have to resort to the neighborhood, I'm sure they appreciate it.

This is a nice place for strolling and looking at the ocean and rock structures. But for children, it is very limited. There is only one shady area, 2 toddler swings, 1 tire swing and sculptures to climb on or go into. You need to walk to one of the signs to read why it is called Dinosaur Caves. There are bathroom facilities and picnic tables by the playground and benches on the walking trails.

Wow... one of the most beautiful parks my family and I have ever visited. Large play area. Amazing ocean views. Highly recommend.

A sunny day with offshore breezes equal beautiful views of the water and shoreline. This is not a destination visit but if in the area it's a nice peaceful walk with great views. Plus it looks like a lot of flowers in the spring

This was a great place to stop for scenery also if travelling with kids great to strech thier legs and use the playground

Stopped here on our trip down to SoCal so our pup could stretch off-leash. Beautiful view, lots of green space, with clean bathrooms for us humans! However, if there is any possibility that your dog would run to the edge of the cliff and not stop on command, keep them on leash. There is no fencing there and it could be dangerous.

Nice little park, not a lot of structures for the kids, but great setting with whales, seals and dinosaurs. The walk overseeing the sea is gorgeous and offer a lot of benches to enjoy the view.

This park is great for toddlers as there is a lot of things they can climb on. There are baby swings but no swings for bigger children, however, there is a tire swing. There are picnic tables and lots of grassy area for a picnic. And, the main thing of course, nice bathrooms onsite. Afterwards, take a stroll along the park paths with breath taking views. There isn't a lot of shaded areas, and on a sunny hot day, the play equipment becomes too hot to play on.

The Dinosaur Caves Park was a walking distance of 3 minutes from our hotel..We walked our dogs...Beautiful views on many acres...Area for children, joggers and dog walkers..Missing off leash area for dogs...

My grandchildren really enjoyed the park. They asked to go the next day. What a beautiful area. Going back next year.

Great place in the morning to see the whales and the otters playing. (Otters at far North where street ends) Peaceful spot!

If you are visiting it is a nice stop and take a walk along the bluff... play area is clean and has some interesting things but it is very small and limited... odd because there is so much space they could fit plenty more... at least put in one real swing set... As I recall they only had two toddler swings and one tire swing.

What a beautiful park for such a small town! I could watch the niece play here all day long, because of the beautiful views!

Great play area. Stunning views. Stay behind the fences and off the cliffs as directed...completely safe for children. Only idiots go over the fence.

Really nice park with multiple ocean view overlooks. I walked down to the beach access stairs one night and the waves were INTENSE. I wasn't able to walk down to the caves because of the tide, but I sat on the stairs for about an hour and listened to the waves crash against the cliffs. It was a pretty magical experience.

I guess the park is named after some caves that collapsed in the 1970's. The playground has a dinosaur motif but there are not dinosaurs. Beautiful sea cliff views. The park is well maintained with plenty of look outs.

A beautiful place to stop to rest, meditate or pray, appreciate the ocean views, and let your children run in the children's playground.

My kid enjoyed the orca and the dino eggs, however, he said its not really a park. There is no play structure or slide or swing or monkey bars. (only 2 baby swings and 1 tire swing thing). The view is very good. Great for picnics etc.

When to this park so the kids could stretch their legs. Its okay, nothing fancy. The restrooms were fairly clean for a park. The view of the ocean is nice. But the smell from the sea gulls maybe was like really rotting fish. When the wind changes direction it wan not bad.

Dinosaur Caves Park is a wonderful park about 2 miles from the Pismo Beach Pier. There is a play ground for kids and beautiful views. You can walk your pup and it is just a really good stop on the way up the coast.
There used to be sea caves that were accessible, now only by kayak. This area got its name from an old and long ago closed roadside attraction. It had a 50 foot concrete-plastered brontosaurus. The cost was 25 cents.
Once admission was paid, you could go through a 230 foot cave through what the owners called the dinosaur tail. Some years ago the cave began to collapse on itself and now there is just a remnant left. If you want you can get a guided kayak tour of the remains of the cave.
But now, for most, it is just a beautiful park with great ocean views and a nice stop on the long road trip up the coast of California. Have a great time.

Great place to take some photos and see the CA coastline. Lots of birds (it is a nesting/breeding site) so be ready for a bit of a smell, but worth the stop. A nice play ground for kids. We walked south on the side towards the Pismo pier and ran into some hidden public spaces behind a local hotel.

Plenty of parking, clean restrooms, and a well-kept play area for the kids. A large grassy area for dogs and nice hiking trails for the humans!

This small park in the Shell Beach area of Pismo Beach offers a respite from the busy pier and tourist areas. It is a wonderful spot for kids to play in the playground or for adults to picnic or simply enjoy the ocean view. The park was quiet on the Monday morning we visited.

We stopped here on our road trip because it had such great reviews. This park is not well kept. There was garbage and dog poop everywhere. The playground was ok but needed updating. There was a short path you could walk along for the view, but it wasn’t anything spectacular.

It was a great pit-stop during a long drive. Parking was plentiful, even during a holiday weekend! The park was clean, well-kept, and has breathtaking outlooks along the cliff's edge. There's a lot of nature like seeing the "caves", whale spotting and pelican viewing as well. Locals are friendly, and everyone was all smiles. Make sure you stop to read about the history of the park too! It's fairly interesting!

This is a pretty large but sparse park that overlooks some really interesting rock formations. There is a small playground area and restrooms but other than that and a very few benches along the bluff there isn't much to do here but sightsee. It is a great place to take a walk, parking in the neighborhood streets wasn't an issue for us but we only stayed about 40 minutes. Once you stroll up and down the edge of the cliffs, there isn't much to do unless you bring your own entertainment, such as a camera, lawn chairs, or party - the big grassy area makes this place more ideal for a family picnic or a pick up sports game - no sandy cars to deal with after a day here.

Great Park great views dog friendly close to a lot of shops and places to eat, bring your camera and get ready

This is a fantastic park and free admission. My wife and I visited here as we have friends from this wonderful little town Pismo Beach. Not only you get a breathtaking view of the ocean, but also you enjoy various points of the park where you can sit. Great place to relax and enjoy various scenery wonderful spot for kids and also if you have a pet. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful park to visit. Ocean breeze. Seagulls. Dinosaurs. Kids have a blast. What more could you want?

This location has an interesting history which is outlined on a sign/exhibit in the park. It's not too big but still offers a nice place for a walk along the ocean. Enjoyable.

Once a month this park hosts a live band concert. It's a cute park, close to the ocean and highway so it's easy to get to. Places for kids to play and dogs are welcome.

I have an obsession with beaches and oceans so anything that gives me the best views of those I am a bit more biased for, but this place isn’t just great for views. It’s dog friendly, kid friendly, peaceful, large enough to walk around (beautiful on a sunny day by the way), free, and close to most hotels on price street. Parking is close and easy, they have clean bathrooms and great little cut offs to sit and take in the views. If you live near here I am jealous you get this every day. If you are visiting Pismo Beach then you need to stop at this park even if it’s just for a great picture! It’s on the top of my list for my trip back here in two weeks!!

I stopped here to see the Dinosaur and eggs playground for children. Its also fun for adults (i.e. me) to see. It is a nice park overlooking the ocean.

Nice park. Kids playground. Trail along the coast with several overlooks. Nice views of the coast and looking back toward Pismo Beach pier.

What a great park to stretch your legs and enjoy nature. The ocean is right there so you can look for whales or watch the waves. The flowers are always lovely. The dinosaurs are fun to look at. Kids would love them. Lots of free parking.

A sandy play area with three giant turquoise and black dinosaur "eggs" beckons to children at this 11-acre park atop an ocean bluff. Two newly hatched eggs provide space for little ones to get out of the sun. A couple of tots laughed with delight inside these eggs during our visit, while others played on concrete dolphins and examined Oreo the Orca whale. I took a closer look at the resident dinosaur and the USS Imagination, a lifeboat-type craft also within this area.
The well-maintained park has clean restrooms, lots of picnic tables, plenty of free parking and magnificent views of the ocean, cliffs and Pismo Beach Pier from its northern edge. Nicely landscaped, the park has grass and pathways. We found it to be a lovely place to stop off of 101 to stretch our legs. There are few trees here, however, so the acreage is directly exposed to the sun.
Tiny Margot Dodd Park stands just a 2-minute walk from the northern boundary of Dinosaur Caves Park. Here visitors can sit for a while on a bench in a gazebo to look at the stunning view and listen to the waves crashing below. Nearby, steps descend to a Coastal Conservancy beach.
I think Dinosaur Caves Park is a great rest stop when driving Highway 101. Heading north, exit on Mattie Road. Going south, the exit is Price Street.

Our grand kids always have fun here, it’s well set up and the restrooms are usually clean. Shame they have taken the whale away.

This is a really nice family park right on the ocean in Pismo Beach. However there are no dinosaurs. It get's its name from a large concrete dinosaur that was partially constructed there, on the cliff, and the government made the guy stop because he didn't have a "dinosaur permit." These permits are very hard to get. That's why concrete dinosaurs are almost extinct.
There is usually a flea market there on weekends and there is a little kids playground. Great family fun.

Walked here from our hotel with our dog. She enjoyed the park. It's a nice size. Clean. Picnic areas and pretty view of the ocean. There is some construction being done on one of the streets to get here that make it a little unsafe to walk with smaller children when there is heavy traffic. You have no choice but to walk in between cones with traffic buzzing by way too fast.

The first thing I noticed about this area was the playground. It's outstanding. There are good facilities and ample restrooms with plenty of seating. A series of walks takes the visitor along the cliff edge for magical views out to sea and along the coast. The nearby rookery is a a highlight. One of the highlights at Pismo Beach.

Neighborhood friends, We love all the new digs, Fun easter day, get a louder speaker.. glad you left the old stuff as well

Great park with lots of fun play structures for kids and a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean for adults. Easy access for those with mobility issues. Highly recommend!

Unrelated to anything archaeological, the name is for a commercial development.
It is a park with games for children, it is public, no admission fee and if you pay attention there are in the form of a tribute / reminder some sculptures of dinosaur eggs (small) so it is to pay attention.
Yes, it is on the edge of the sea, on a cliff, on a sunny day the views are like the whole west coast, unmissable
It is the starting point of Margo Dodd Park

This park has lots of things to do to keep a 5 year old having fun for hours. Great view and very clean. Will be coming back many more times

It is a nice neighborhood park for a stroll and venture out to the lookout points for a nice view of the ocean and the sea life! There are benches and a play area for children!

Great place for the family to enjoy together. Plenty of walking trails, a dinosaur themed playground (my grand daughter loves it!), and spectacular views of the coastline.

We spent a good few hours here on our way from Montery to Santa Barbara. Gorgeous spot with stunning views. Greenery to sit out and eat a picnic, park for kids, and a stunning seaview.

As someone who lives right in the neighborhood, I can say that
I rarely go here even with visitors. Why? Well, unless you go right
up to the Cliff edge, there is really not much to see. This Park fails
on two main points... 1) there is no beach access & 2) the park has
really no trees & is not very park-like.
It is more of a road-side stop for those with young kids & want a
break from the road. The playground is adequate, but I would really
worry about those kids who wander away. There are numerous
poorly defined areas that are right next to shear cliffs!
There is a public restroom, but it is not well maintained, nor
too clean.
If you are looking for a beach pitstop, I would definitely pick
Avila Beach Park for this. While it is a few miles off the 101,
it is far nicer & far safer. There are also plenty of places to
grab a bite.
If you are looking for a park that does have limited access to the
water, then you want the next door Margo Dodd park. For far better
access, there is the nearby Pismo Beach or the quieter Palisades
Park.
Please be aware that the Cliffs in this area do tend to crumble
without warning & are hazardous. People also do get trapped
on the shore at high tide. Such events appear in the local news
from time to time....so use your common sense.

Ocean view park with lots of grassy space for kids. Has cute dinosaur and sea lion statues to sit and play on. The boardwalk and low-water use landscaping are great to keep the native plants from getting trampled.

Gorgeous park and great place for families.
The view was amazing and super relaxing. They did a good job with planning. Easy parking.

A pleasant park for a stroll along the ocean front offering wonderful views. Park is well maintained and very family friendly. There are sculptures of dinosaurs, eggs, and aquatic animals.

Stopped at Dinosaur Caves Park while driving down the California coast with the family. Found it to be a really nice place to stop and take a break, with plenty to see along the coastal cliffs and with plenty of play area for kids.
The Dinosaur Caves Park is located right by the coast in Pismo Beach and offers nicely designed grounds, play structures, facilities and walking paths. The coastal path provides wonderful view of the coastline and the ocean. Furthermore, by the close-by rock islands, there were seals when we were there.
Great place to stop and visit as part of a journey.

I love the Dinasaur Caves Park. Pismo has done a wonderful job making the beautifying the park and making it a family place. We take our grandkids there first when they come to visit. The location is ideal, the views are the best.

Free parking, picnic benches, rest rooms, great ocean views of rocky coastline; many birds-- species change seasonlly; may see seals, sea otters, whales on the rocks below & near shore. Normally a fairly quiet place, with things for children to explore & play but watch the cliff edges. No businesses at this park; short walk down Shell Beach Rd to some.

Beautiful views of the water from atop a bluff. Nice landscaping with places for kids to play. Lots of families on weekends and mostly empty during certain days of the week.

Stunning view of the ocean and pretty little playground for kids. I was a bit disappointed as when I looked online it gave the impression it was much bigger than it actually was, and that you could exercise your dog off leash - not the case...and not really enough space to have a long walk....

We returned to see the very fun Dinosaur Caves Park. Its fun to see the children playing in the dinosaur park. There is also very nice views of the Pacific Ocean. Its also a nice place to take a walk.
Several people were enjoying the sunshine and being outside on our mid week visit.
There is a nice sized parking lot. Visiting is free.

Low key beauty...this little park and its environs provide some stupendous views of the sea, cliffs, sea gulls, and nesting Pelicans. Great place for a walk!

Besides being a fun park for kids, my wife and I got married here in 2009. Beautiful ocean views, perfect summer weather and it came incredibly cheap. Great place to hang out!

We always stop here. It's relaxing. One of the days, we stopped here and put a blanket out for a short nap. Cool breeze made for a nice nap. Sunday, they had a craft show. It's always fun to see interesting crafts.

park is small but awesome
- small area for kids to play
- free parking and decent restrooms
- the views are awesome with the big caves and birds
- will definitely visit this at every pismo trip
- combine with Margo Dodd park which is next to it. Both parks are practically one

This park was within walking distance to our hotel. It's cute with little dinosaur rock eggs set all around. Some larger "eggs" are set up for children to crawl through. It's a good park for small children. I don't think older kids would find it very entertaining as most of the equipment is geared towards little ones. The park is very clean, colorful, and we felt perfectly safe walking through it at night.

GREAT stop for motorist or bicyclist traveling the California coast. Clean restrooms (with extra stalls for ladies). Picnic tables & benches, darling playground for pre-adolescents, lots of grass, stunning ocean views, free parking & clear marked 1/4 mile trails. If you didn't pack a lunch, a half dozen nearby (within 0.8 mile) restaurants will be glad to help. Fishing allowed if you have a valid Calif license. Dogs welcome on a leash. Poop bags provided. Please use them.

It was a beautiful day a little over cast but the peacefulness was amazing. You can hear the children's laughter while playing on the swings. The park had clean bathrooms and a good size parking lot. A lot of trails to walk along. If you walk along the street you'll see some stairs that lead down a good ways so you can hear and see the clashing of the waves.

Was there with my daughter's family, including a 4 & a 6 year old. The park is in a beautiful site, but only has one tire swing & swings for toddlers, no slides, etc. The kids ended up playing more with their father in the grass than in the playground. The sculptured animals, the boat & the shells are fascinating but don't hold the kids interest for very long.

The park is right next to ocean and you can see it from the park. You can walk to the end of the park and look over the cliffs. The sight is beautiful at sunrise and sunset. The park has clean bathrooms and an area for pets on a leash. My kids love playing at the park every time we go to Pismo.

This is a little park in Pismo Beach offering a playground for kids. But its real claim to fame is the spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. One can walk right up to the bluff and admire several nearby rock formations frequented by sea birds (gulls, cormorants, and pelicans). Sunset is a particularly spectacular time. Street parking appeared to be plentiful, and off the main drag. Not to worry; the playground area is well back from the bluff.

and I will let you discover that for yourselves. Nicely groomed park with a gorgeous ocean cliff view. Great to walk your dog. Everyone was considerate and dogs were leashed and the walkers were very nice. This was our dogger's vacation and she enjoyed this walk.

The views here are just remarkable. The park "extras" are nothing to write home about, but pictures taken from one of the benches overlooking the surf and shoreline are!!!

This is a great park for kids to play on the small dinos or seals or to run around and burn off energy. Our five year olds love it and the views are great for young and old.

It is a beautiful place to sit and enjoy the view and have some peace and quiet time. There is plenty of parking and it's free.

This park is fun and cute, the kids loved it! Fun to climb on and play in the sand. Also a tire swing. Beautiful views and great for a nice quiet walk.

Took the kids there for an afternoon. Great park and playground. Very clean and great view of the ocean and seagulls.

Convenient public restroom and nice views, great for kids. The park didn't have trails like I thought it would, so the dog walk was not as long as I had hoped, but all in all a nice little park

My wife and I have visited here many times for views of the ocean. This visit we were amazed by the number of pelicans. If you walk along the cliff walk west to the point (a little park w/ pergola), you'll see many nesting gulls with cute gray/brown speckled chicks. On other visits we've seen seals and dolphins. The park itself is great for families w/ kids who need to run off some energy without hauling gear down to a beach (free parking, as opposed to the Pismo Pier area).

Wonderful views. Great place to relax and enjoy the scenery. Plenty of free parking at the playground and then you can walk the path both ways.

We visited this park on a trip to Pismo Beach. The ocean views from the cliffs are magnificent, there is a fun play area for the kids, walking/jogging paths for all. There is a board with some of the history of the park and the gardens and grounds are well taken care of.

Our young kids always love stopping off at this park, whether we are driving through or staying at Shell Beach. And so do we. We enjoy the wide space and ocean views. Easy to get to and good parking.

You can't beat this park. Very well maintained. Gorgeous view. Walking paths for adults and kids along with restrooms, lots of parking, easy access and fun stuff for the kids. Sand pit though so be aware. Loved it.

There are not too many parks located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean! Thank you Shell Beach for not allowing this magnificent property from being over developed like so much of the area.
This park is centrally located and many public events are held here throughout the year. Our favorite is the annual Easter Egg Hunt where thousands of kids get the opportunity to "find" Easter eggs! It's a lot of fun.
Of course, the playground area is well kept, clean and in good working order. The grassy area is flat and kept clean of dog poop (thank you!).
Watch out for the afternoon winds, which can literally blow your experience if you are not prepared.

We love to visit this area. It's very peaceful. Great views. Variety of things to do. It's a great example of an area that is eco friendly (plant-wise) but still beautiful and private areas.
Great design

Beautiful and spacious park right next to the ocean. What else can you ask for? We did not get too close to the playground since there were more people with kids there. Nice walk up to the bluffs with expansive views up and down the coast. Parking was easy even for our RV.

We like this very nice park with beautiful Pacific Ocean Views. There is a very fun children's playground. There is dinosaurs, dinosaur eggs, seals, USS Imagination partial boat and more in the playground. There is nice walking paths, green area, and picnic tables.
I also like the colorful cow.

Love this park! Lots of parking, playground for kids & the view is just unbelievable. One side you get the beautiful mountain and on the other side you get the ocean. In between is the park & flowers! Perfect time to go is April! The mountain is covered with yellow flowers

Right on the ocean! Amazing dog park. Great playground. Easy parking. "Art in the Park" on some Sunday's. Traffic to there can sometimes be a bit tiring though as 101 traffic can be bad!

A cute little dinosaur themed park in the Pismo beach area. A couple 9f. Swings and sandy area for children to play.. a scenic path for the cliff overlook.

The park has a history, nice grass well maintained. Plenty of parking with restrooms. An excellent view can be had while enjoying a picnic. Walkways are provided for strolling o reading a good book.

We enjoyed the wonerful views of the ocean while walking our little dog in the park,
great park for families with children

Nice park, has really evolved into a place to go and relax. July 4th and it was not too crowded. It is totally accessible so no worries there. Beautiful views and easy access from freeway. Stores are short distance away.

A lovely little park on the bluff overlooking the natural Pacific Ocean seascape. Spot otters, whales, seals, dolphins, pelicans and seagulls. Immensely beautiful and relaxing, yet right off the 101 freeway, - great place to take a break on a long drive down the coast.
Art in the Park the first Sunday of summer months. Music, food, arts and crafts.
Children's play area. Grass area for tossing a football or frisbee. Dogs on leash allowed.
Dels a Pizza, Zorros Cafe, Seaside Cafe, and Shell Beach Brewhouse up the street along Shell Beach Road.
A hidden jewell.

Beautiful views and lots of people walking their dogs. We always stay at Inn at the Cove, where every room has an ocean view. My Mom sleeps in and I go for long walks.

I ran a half marathon which ended at Dinosaur Cave Park. Wide open spaces with great views of the beach. Plenty of places to explore or just relax. Great for families, animals and tired feet after a half marathon.

On a nice day it is a good place to have a picnic. They also have a Gazebo that would be a good place for young lovers to purpose or have an outdoor wedding.

This is just a small grassy area with a few tables and benches that overlook the ocean. Nice place to rest during a walk or bike ride. No dinosaurs :-).

The park itself is quite large and has a beautiful view of the ocean. There are walking paths and vista points and the scenery is lovely. There are shaded picnic tables and plenty of benches to sit and peacefully enjoy the views.
However, if you are visiting because you have children along who want to play at the park, you may be disappointed. There are not any traditional play structures. Instead, there are some large animals to climb and play. There is also a small concrete boat and some large broken eggs that children can crawl into. It is great to encourage imaginative play, but few children stayed longer than 15 minutes during our visit. The playground area is filled with sand with extra rubberized padding in key locations. There are two toddler bucket style swings and a tire swing, but no traditional swings for older children. It's good for a short play time, but is not the kind of park where kids stay and play all day.
Also, it had quite a fishy smell while we were there. While not surprising due to the location, it may be unpleasant for some people.

This park is a short walk from several hotels in Pismo and we go here to walk and see the wildlife.
There are always a variety of sea birds and in spring you may see nests of gulls with chicks. Pelicans and cormorants can often be seen on the rocks just immediately off the bluff.
You can also see sea otters regularly and in winter, gray whales and in summer you'll see humpback whales breaching offshore.
If that's not your gig, the park has a great kid area and grassy area to play with paths and is accessible to all young and old.

Don't be fooled by the name - I almost gave this place a miss because it sounded like a theme park of some sorts. There's a dinosaur themed playground, great if you have kids the right age. The path links to the Margo Dodd park which has some amazing views. The homes in this area are quite pretty to look at too.

Lovely quiet space to enjoy the view on the coast and take a short stroll. There are a few car park spaces where you can sit and enjoy the view from your car if it;s rainy or cold, like it has been this week!

Located in an amazing view area of the central coast, this venue has ample space for family but can get VERY crowded deping upon the music. It is very popular with couples and with large families. The view just can't be beat. And, best of all, it is free.

This park is a lovely place situated on top of the cliffs next to the ocean, Don't expect to see any Dinosaurs, or caves, for that matter, the name comes from a long gone tourist attraction that once graced the area. What you'll find instead is a well designed park, criss-crossed by paths that are great for dog walking, and plantings that are native to the area. You'll hear the roar of the breakers below the park, and you'll meet other dog people and their beloved pets. A very friendly place, great parking adjacent to the park.

Took our grandchildren to this park after easing about it in a childs book about Pismo and the Dinosaurs. They played on all the equipment and enjoyed the dinosaurs.

great views.nice paths, playground, shade, paths to walk although not all safe for littel once. cliff right along side, plenty of grassy area to play catch frisbee or kick a ball around and picnic. tables. nice local people

Make sure you venture down the road past the Gazebo and take the staircase down to the beach. Seriously my favorite beach, I was able to explore the caves at low tide and saw numerous baby starfish. AMAZING!

Two words: sea otters. Plus a good assortment of seabirds. The kiddy Park is nothing special but offers ample parking, flush toilets, and access to cliff boardwalks for nice vistas and wildlife viewing. Cool caves along cliffs.

My kids love this park and we visit every time we are in town. They also have a great Easter egg hunt event every year for all ages.. its a must if your in town

This was a really neat little park down the road from our hotel. The kids loved playing here and it was very clean. The view was fantastic.

If your child loves dinosaurs, this is a must see. They can crawl into a dino egg, play on animal statues, or just run around all of the green space while you take in the views of the ocean. There is no beach access, but you can picnic near the edge of the (chained off) cliff and enjoy the view.

Wonderful park that we visit each time we’re in the area. Usually with the niece and nephew but this Ike with our toddler. He thoroughly enjoyed himself. This park has wonderful views and recently (last four years) added more equipment for the kids. Lots of green space for picnics. Bathroom facilities.

Great ocean views. Lots of walking trails, interesting water caves, fun to watch the pelicans on the huge rock.

We were on a getaway trip staying at The Cliffs . My 3 yr old toddler enjoyed playing here.. this place is close to the hotel we stayed. Pet friendly place and the bathrooms are clean .

Take the kids and all your goodies and head for the beach.Oh don't care for the sand or all that stuff. Here you will find easy parking....most times and a huge lawn area to spread out on. No dinosaurs just a name a land developer hung on the place trying to drum up business and sell some lots for a super high price of a couple of hundred bucks....There are bathrooms and a few dino eggs to be found..Have fun !...bring a kite.

This is a perfect place for a stroll / light hike. There’s sweeping views of the ocean and very impressive rock formations. Great for all ages.

Stopped here on a rainy day to see the view - so pretty. Would be a nice spot for a simple wedding. Look around and see the tunnels in some of the rocks

One of the most beautiful parks on the Central Coast, with spectacular views, birds, otters, whales, and playground for the kids!

Stumbled on this great little park perched on the cliffs above the ocean. Park was perfect for our little ones and the ocean was just a short walk away. A great place to take in the sites and take the dog for a run.

Our son loved having some space to run around and play, especially after the long car ride to Pismo Beach. Can't beat the ocean views!!!

Great place for the little ones to play while you relax and enjoy the ocean views. We were even lucky enough to see whales that midafternoon day.

So, some of the other reviews made me think this place had multiple walking trails but there is only one. That said, it’s very walkable for adults and kids. We don’t have kids but there were adults and kids of all ages enjoying this park, the views and the massive amounts of sea birds hanging out on the rocks. The trail is not long at all but still a great place to take photos and enjoy the scenery. Also enjoyed reading about the history of how the park got its name. Highly enjoyable hour and a half spent here.

Dinosaur Caves Park in Pismo Beach, CA is a great place for families to enjoy the outdoors. The views of the Pacific Ocean also never get old for those of us that just want to take a stroll.

A Great place to walk the dog, let the kids play and just enjoy the view of the Ocean. The park is really nice and clean, open to views for miles. Nice benches scattered throughout the park where you can sit and relax and just enjoy the views. In the summer there is live music and can be lots of fun!!! A nice place to stop and eat lunch if traveling through the Central Coast!

This area is the nicest trail park around. Dog friendly, nice trails, kids toys and bathrooms. Beautifully landscaped and amazing views. No beach area. All up on a bluff.

This park is for small children. 7yrs and up will get bored quickly. The play sets are very hot to the touch and parents should be cautious with there little ones. There is a nice view of the Pacific Ocean and there are tables/benches for a picnic.

It is a very simple local park. I would not travel there to see anything special. It's good for locals to bring children and walk dogs. There a few statures of dinosaurs but those a very simple and small.

Nice clean area for a picnic and view of the ocean. Whales in the distance. Easy Off and On to 101. Plenty of Parking for a weekday Noon stop.

Love to watch the sea lions, pelicans and the view is awesome. My grandchildren tove to play on the playground here. There is lots of room to play on the grass, Handicap accessible with nice walkways as well. It;s a nice place to picnic especially when travelling with kids

When traveling up the 101 Freeway, we love stopping here for a bit to stretch our legs, enjoy the ocean cliff scenery, and the nice restrooms. The play area is been redone right now, but still fun to go sit on a dinosaur egg. This is a MUST stop if you are in the area.

This park is well taken care of. lots of flowers, trails to walk around. great for taking pictures. It oversee the pismo beach.

This is an amazing and breathtaking spot in Pismo Beach. I think there were maybe 500 pelicans hanging out on the rocks, along with several seals. Just a beautiful park and hiking area. Must-see!

We enjoy the child play areas, the walking path and fantastic ocean views it is right next to a bird sanctuary and the views are spectacular and relaxing. There is ample parking and grass areas for games. Easy access from 101south.

We came to check out the park but whoa - the views from the cliffs that border the park were amazing!!

My four year old enjoyed the play area while my husband and I enjoyed the fresh ocean air and beautiful coastline.

I loved everything about this park! The kids got to run/play and the adults were able to stretch our legs. The view of the coastline is fantastic. There are chains to tell you where to safely walk. The bathrooms were very clean. BONUS: There's a beach (if the tide is low) around the corner from the park. Head to the gazebo near the cliff and about 250 feet further is the stairs to the beach. We were lucky to be able to walk around. My wife found a hole/cave to the left of the stairs where we could reach more tide pools and explore. The kids loved finding new rocks/shells and exploring.

We visited whilst staying in Pismo Beach and the views of the rocks on the beach are outstanding. The park has some some lovely grassy areas and it’s wonderful for a walk. We spent and hour or so wandering about taking photos and it’s a lovely relaxing place. Definitely recommend this place.

This is a great little park situated right by the ocean with fabulous views. The park is well kept with a nice little dinosaur themed play area for kids to enjoy and clean bathrooms are nearby. There is a walking path that winds through the grounds and ends up right by the ocean where there is a lovely gazebo area for sitting and enjoying the views. Great place for a picnic or just sitting and watching the sunset. Dogs are allowed on leashes.

We visit Shell Beach once or twice a year with our adult son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons (6 and 4). The boys love playing in the dinosaur eggs, crawling on the dinosaur and especially, swinging on the tire swing. The older folks (us) love watching the fun and the beautiful scenery, especially the sunset. Great spot for all ages to let off a bit of energy.

We stop here every time we're in the Pismo area. There is a gazebo at the top of the cliff where you can take gorgeous pictures or even watch a local wedding. Huge rocks in the ocean hosts different kinds of water fowl and seagulls, making it a great place to bird watch. Relaxing, beautiful.

This park, we have driven by many timnes and never thought to stop because I all the big playground. Actually, there is more then just a playground. There are many trails behind the playground, some leading to some pretty interesting places.

I'm reviewing this place as it came up when searching for good places to park when visiting Pismo Beach. This particular area, whilst lovely and easy to park, does not have Beach access. It's cliffs, so if you want sand in your toes search another parking spot. Hope this helps

This is a small park, carefully maintained and such a beautiful place to just take a walk or sit and watch the sun set. If you love taking photos you will not run out of opportunities here! The cliffs are line with caves carved out by thousands of years of action of waves against the cliffs. Kayakers love to roam along the cliffs, kids play in the park, lovers stop to admire the sunsets. Easily accessible for everyone - young and old alike. Bring a picnic lunch!

Beautiful playground , very clean park and trail. A very special place to stroll the trail along the cliffs. What a pleasant area to visit, short and easy for someone with limited mobility, several benches to sit along the way, many flowers in bloom. Enjoyed watching kayakers and the sea lions basking in the rocks below.

This park is one of the coolest that I've ever seen. Ocean views galore. Seriously, very peaceful. Ocean air, smell of the sea....what more can one ask for.

My wife and I stopped here to explore a bit after a weekend. There’s an overlook in a high cliff on a sweet, kelpy bay. Boaters bobbing gently on the deep water below. Seagulls swooping. On gull sat atop a post of the guard rail, and said “bop, bop” to us.

Nice area to cool and let kids play. Also can take some great photos in the area. Bathrooms usually seem to be kept fairly clean which suprised me re a public bathroom.
Everytime we come to town my son loves tob play here.

We stopped here after just seeing it from the road. There's a nice, but smallish playground for kids, and a nice walking trail that takes you around the park area and along the cliff-side. I'd recommend starting at the park, and walking along the cliff following the water, all the way around the corner. Once you reach the gazebo at the end, if you walk further to the right along the cliff, there are stairs down to the beach (Shell Beach I think it's called) if you go a little further. The rock formations are really interesting to see from the cliff. Nice place for a picnic, walk a dog, or just amble around for an hour or so.

You may think this is a playground, but it is more a place to see amazing panoramic views of the bay. There are several viewing points. One can just stand there and go “Wow”. I would have attached the panoramic pictures but Trip Advisor does not seem to allow it.
There is also a playground but whatever.

Very nice park that is easily accessible from Inn At The Cove. Great playground for kids, very clean restrooms.

The Dinosaur Caves Park is small but cute. The kids enjoyed playing for a little bit. It's the walk you can take along the coast and the stairs you take down to the beach to walk along the rocks and caves that is the best! We made sure to go during low tide and we were able to see a lot of hermit crabs. The adventure was fun, just wear good walking/water shoes.

Park has picnic benches, fairly clean bathrooms and playground equipment for children.
The park exists on a bluff overlooking the ocean, and the history of the park is explained on kiosk.

Took our grandsons to play on the dinosaurs - ages 3 and 5. Sadly was a foggy, cold morning but it was still very fun. Perfect sizes of structures for kids to play on, although younger kids will need a little help climbing up. seemed like some of the structures could use some fresh paint and upkeep.

Fun Creative place for kids to run wild and Play and to get them TIRED OUT =) Updated new equipment for kids to play on-vibrant colors....spots for parents to sit while kids enjoy themselves running around in a safe area-great views of the beach as well

We were headed thru Pismo and wanted a place to make a quick stop to see and smell the ocean. We noticed this park after driving right past it on the highway. Took the very next exit and came back. So glad we did. The kids ran around and played on the playground, we used the clean restrooms, threw a football on the grassy area and then took a walk down to the viewing areas. There are even benches you can sit on and really take in the view. Such a cute, all-encompassing beach park. Lots of free parking too!

A beautifully developed park with glorious views of the central CA coast is the perfect spot for a family to stop and stretch their legs. There is a playground for the young ones, benches for the older ones and plenty of room for the ones in the middle to expend their pent up energy. Paved trails offer views of rocks and sea life. A nice bathroom makes for a better stop than the average gas station.

We came here because we thought there will be more dinosaur miniature models but we were a little bit disappointed because there were only very few. Its just a regular park were kids and families can play and stay together with a nice view facing the pacific ocean.

Beautiful Park, clean, scenic. Easy walk from free parking, playground area, restrooms. sitting areas. interesting bluffs with caves.

Beautiful park with awesome views and pretty walkways. Your kids will love playing in this area and you will too!

This park has great views of the ocean. Nearby you can see some pretty cool houses that have this same view. You can also go down some steps to a small beach area if you walk away from the park headed North for a few hundred yards.
At the park there is a play structure and some benches to relax and take in the view. Lots of grass. There is hardly any shade though, so be aware of that if you are staying long. There is also a small walking path.
Both times we have been there it has been extremely windy! Not sure if that is the norm or not.

We stopped at the dino park before hitting the road so our daughter could burn off some energy before being cooped up in the car. Cute playground with plenty to swing and climb on and lots of fields with dandelions to pick. Great view of the beach!

The 1st Sunday of every month they have an art show at the park...very good quality; price and variety. The park has a great overlook over the ocean and I have had plenty of picnics there. Great park for kids to play...walk your dog and enjoy the day. Sunsets are amazing!

The children loved playing on all the equipment in the playground and there was lots of room for them to run around and have fun

The view of the coast is amazing and the walkway around it is in great shape! Nice they have bathrooms if you need them. And, it has a play area for the kids, that seems popular!

Nice for a brief walk; there are often lovely public events here. There is adequate parking and restrooms.

The views from this park are really beautiful. We took lots of pictures and loved the park. Lots of places to walk.

We made a quick stop here before we left in the morning. We had a lot of fun posing for various photos and there is a beautiful ocean view at this park. It was a wonderful start to our day!

Not a lot of fancy swings but such a beautiful place. Great music and fun market days. It's very special to our family. Kids are getting too big for the swings but it still fun to watch the birds and seals in the distance.

ally designed fully designed park, but we had a few hours before being able to check in to hotel so we decided to find a park to sit out the wait. And find a park and what an amazingly beautiful park. Not only was it one of the most beautifully designed park, but it sits on one of the more spectacular sites overlooking the ocean.
The lay out of the park itself allowed for a nice easy walk landscaped by an artist with a really good eye for bringing plant life and ocean life together. Needless to say we were happy to sit out our wait in this very serene environment.

The Adventure Buddies had a blast exploring Dinosaur Caves park taking incredible photos of the cliff side, caves, beach, wildlife. The park is great for kids and adults! Whether coming into town or leaving this is a must to stop and stretch your legs, walk the cliff, play in the park and take breath taking photos.

I discovered this park on a run (very clean bathrooms!). Lots of room for kids and picnics. Cute statues of dinos to play on. My children are too old :( for this kind of fun but enjoyed watching the children enjoy the park. The park is named after the ocean caves along the coast. At one time, there was a rock formation that looked like a dinosaur (hence the name). Unfortunately, time, water, wind and erosion have taken this formation away.

The Skinny:
Parking- gravel lot
Poop Bags - yes
Playground- yes
Benches - tons, scattered around
Views- gorgeous
Bathrooms- yes
We stayed at the Inn at the Cove and were able to walk our doggy Lulu here every day. what a beautiful park with outstanding views of the ocean and coast line. There are grassy areas, benches, picnic tables, restrooms, playground, walking paths, etc. All so well maintained and great to use. If you are staying in the area and want to sit and meditate, the benches on the bluff are amazing.

the park is partly under construction to upgrade the kids play area. It is still beautiful to visit being able to view the ocean and look towards Pismo Beach and the Pier ( which has reopened) Very well maintained. Great for a family or just to relax.

This little community park is a nice stopping point off HWY 101. In addition to clean rest rooms there is a nice dinosaur themed play ground for kids. Walking trails lead to ocean cliffs that are beautiful. Take the time to walk along the cliffs because you will see some beautiful sights. We were there close to sunset and had an opportunity to see the tide pulling out and expose parts of the caves (across from the cliffs) that were not visible when we started our walk.

Nice little playpark overlooking the ocean. Soft grass. Clean area. Pretty view over bluffs, but no ocean access really. We watched the pelicans and seagulls soaring around. Good for half an hour for our 8 year old.

Since a visit to Dinosaur Caves Park a few years ago, when i wrote that there very limited things for my grandchildren to enjoy, we recently returned to the area, stopped by after dinner, and i was very pleased to see the great improvements that had been made. Now I highly recommend letting your children burn off some energy here.

This is a very nice place to walk around or walk your dog. This is not a playground in my opinion as there is little for the kiddos to do. We were not there long. The views and the grounds are lovely.

Another Shell Beach park that is amazing. Music concerts all summer & "Art in the Park" on the 1st Sunday of each month. A locals & tourist park where people walk/play with dogs & kids & have an "on top of the ocean" view of caves & kayakers! 1st view you hit when driving north on the frontage road arriving to your Shell Beach destination ❤️

Looking for a place to take the kids, or a nice stroll along the ocean, or just a surrealist destination to stop and listen to the ocean, this is It! Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach offers a great stopping place on your way up or down the central coast. Part of the year there is Art in the Park on Sundays with many local vendors displaying their goods! Other events like The Taste of Pismo, a culinary/ wine annual event, is held here under a big top. A small amphitheater has music events and shows for the kids. Throughout it all, you are oceanfront will a big expansive ocean view. It's all good at Dinosaur Caves Park! Stop and check it out!

Beautiful, creative little park following the contours of the undulating edges of dramatic, steep cliffs, far above the sea. Many well-designed overlooks from which you can see the caves in the cliff-faces, as well as a Pelican colony on an off-shore rock formation. Well-kept flowers and a playground. The playground is well away from the cliff edges, but the overlooks are not safe places for young kids.

We live in Pismo Beach and ride our bikes to this park often. It's a great place to walk along the cliffs, view sea life and hang out. Ample parking most of the time.

This park is in a beautiful location in Shell Beach. Cute playground and easy to get to.Bring a picnic!

Sat there and watched the whales play. Wonderful playground for the kiddies. Great dog walking and good for them to play off leash if they are nice!

We stopped here on the way to Pismo Beach. It seems more like a childrens park for kids to play and a nice picnic area. It has some nice walking paths and some nice views that looks like caves near the ocean.

Bordering the ocean this is a well maintained mostly paved walkway. At one point there is a steep stairway leading to a secluded beach. Lots of parking and a children's park.

This was a nice well taken care of park with bathrooms and good parking unless there is a concert. The view of the caves along this part of the coast was very interesting and just relaxing as I spent considerable time there taking photos at sunset. A terrific place to picnic, to read, to sleep and to just appreciate the beautiful coastline at this part of Shell Beach.

Stopped here for the first time today. Will come back with the grandkids next time. Clean restroom facility was also very nice. Kids will love it. Lots of benches for watching.

This is a comfortable, scenic family friendly park. Located on the bluffs south of Shell Beach it deserves its high rating by visitors. At first glance entering the parking lot it looks like a children’s playground with dinosaurs and swings fronting the entrance. Once you start easy walking through their succulent gardens you find yourself on dramatic Pacific cliffs and seashore that expose well worn sea caves.
There are two entrances to the beach which can only be reached by stairs towards either end of the coast trail. Beach areas are not large. They were accessible at low tide. You probably want check on the tide times and access the water conditions judiciously.
We spent a couple hours meandering with our pugs and enjoyed this not-so-challenging walk on the cliffs of Pismo Beach. Recommended.

We stopped here for a pit stop on a long road trip, a place to get some fresh air, stretch our legs, and enjoy the ocean views.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve tried to avoid playgrounds whenever we’re traveling. Most are closed anyway. Our kids are bummed about it, but they understand.
We read online ahead of time that the playground here would be open... So, we were hoping to let our kids play on the playground here, since they’d been starved of playground time for 6 months at this point. We figured we’d mask them up and let them go wild IF it wasn’t too crowded.
Unfortunately, it WAS crowded. Even worse: there was not a single person in the entire park wearing a mask, on the playground or otherwise.
Luckily, the park is pretty big, so there was plenty of space for us to walk around and enjoy the BEAUTIFUL views while keeping our distance... Just no playground time for the kids.
I don’t know if this park is in one of those communities where people don’t care about the spread of Covid or what, but if that’s a concern of YOURS, I advise some degree of caution when visiting this park. Still an awesome little park.

I really like that there is parking and paved walking paths. Beautiful views and terrific events at this awesome location. I've spent the past three Mother's Days here and soon I will add a fourth.

It is a nice place to talk a walk along the coast. The vegetation planted a few years ago is starting to look good. It has a lovely children's play area. Occasionally it has a free concert or art show. Parking is usually sufficient.

Great park with ocean view.
Huge Dino eggs and other play sculptures to hide and play in.
My little girl loved it so much. She made friends and used up a bunch of pent up energy from our long road trip.
We stopped here on way up on our last road trip and made it a plan to stop again. Done!

Between Pismo Beach & Margo Dodd Park is this family friendly park. Nice playground area for the kids. Lots of picnic tables & a stunning view of the coast

nice cliff beach park. but our family enjoyed seeing the many pelicans perched on rock islands off the shore. it is such an interesting site of nature. also there are stairs to go down cliff a little further north of park which is a great place to see some caves and get closer to the water to take beautiful pictures!

Bunch of us from work went here for walkabout and ended up having picnic here. Views are fantastic. Sunset great. Highly recommend having an evening picnic here and watch sunset

Cloudy cool day, but beautiful views
of Pismo Pier, some otters, many birds. Nice walking trails and playground for kids

Dinosaur caves Park in Pismo Beach is definitely one of the most visible parks as one drives up or down the 101 highway. Easy enough to overlook because of the sweeping ocean view dinosaur parks is very worthy of a stop, especially if you have little ones. The dinosaur eggs for the tiny ones to crawl in are beautiful touch. The swings for those to just go back and forth and let the world roll on by. The large concrete seals and the killer whale are just the right size for the little ones to crawl on and play make believe. Meanwhile the adults can have one eye on the children and one eye on the lovely panoramic view. Many picnic tables make it easy for one to have that beautiful picnic by the beach. The walkways give an easy place to stroll while watching the waves crash. The expansive lawns give a wonderful place for the dogs to run around and sniff sniff sniff . What more could one ask for a park. Is plenty of parking in the park and along the north side. It's just an incredible lovely place to be, to sit and read, to take a walk, to walk the dog, to bring the children, to have a picnic, and to have the 37 other things I didn't mention. It just feels good Dinosaur Caves Park

This is a really nice park right on the shoreline. Super views of the ocean. Easy to park and walk around. We took our to older dogs and it was fairly easy walking.

So much fun! The view was gorgeous. The caves are awesome and it such a blast ! Loved it can't wait to go back!

If we had kids and lived in the area we'd visit often. As it is, we were passing through on our way to OC with our dog. We were thrilled for the large green space, which our dog (Petunia) adored. She roared around with great glee. It has nice clean bathrooms and picnic tables. We made sure to visit early the next morning before continuing our journey.
The playground equipment is so whimsical, that my wife found herself enjoying it too.
SAFETY CAVEAT: Whether you have small kids or dogs, there are no barriers that would keep them from running off a cliff if not kept away from the area closest to the ocean. The play area is wisely placed farthest away.

We love this park and visit every time we are in Pismo area. There was a strange smell in this area and we couldn't really understand why?

A little gem on the side of the road but well worth spending a few minutes strolling the gravel walkways and flower gardens with overlook areas or picnicking with the family as I saw many people doing. Great view of the coast to the south and somewhat to the north. A great decision by the city to preserve this area from development so that the locals and travelers could enjoy the beautiful view.

Here's just the place to let the kids run around while you enjoy relaxing & taking in the coastline views. Then take them on a stroll on the gravel paths and tell them about how "there used to be a dinosaur here"! What do you think about that! (Well, it was a concrete one, anyway.)

This is a great park but they really need some shade trees. Our dogs enjoyed exploring the park. Met some other people with their dogs and they were very friendly.

beautiful local park on the cliffs of Shell Beach!f It has bathrooms and playground for kids...picnic tables and walking paths...hard to beat the view...they have concerts in the park, and an Art in the Park...through out the year...great picnic place and great for view of Pismo Pier and the Dunes...

Nothing special about the park, other than some good views over Pismo Beach, and the interesting rock formations that form a sanctuary for a ton birds.

The park was a cute little park, but was aimed more towards little kids. There is a lot of grass area to throw a football or ball around which we were doing. The ocean views here are just amazing! There is a good sized parking lot (parking is free) located near the playground. There are restrooms next to the playground, however since there are only two women stalls and one men's stall there may be a line for them.
A short walk from the playground there are stairs that take you down to the beach. This beach has rocks instead of sand. While we were there we saw several sea lions and seals sunbathing not too far from the shore. We went to this beach two days and both days the beach wasn't very crowded, and we had a wonderful time playing in the water, sunbathing, and just enjoying the beauty this beach has to offer.

What a surprise it was for both me and my twin 6 year old Granddaughters. They had a ball there. Never wanted to leave, and when they got home they were dead to the World. A great find that we almost missed.

This is a terrific place to stop when doing a long drive. The kids loved it and the adults were happy to stretch their legs.

This is nice clean park, with clean washrooms, and some walking trails. A great road-trip picnic spot, and dogs are welcome, too.

We only visited this area for a an hour or two, but the views of the rocks, cliffs and coastline left us wanting to stay a few days. Highly recommend to keep an eye on smaller children as the chains are merely decorative and the cliff edges are dangerous.

The cliff - the view - the whole experience! Very family oriented - a place to everybody relax and have fun.

We stopped off here on our way up to Morro Bay. The views are beautiful across the bay. Some people had stopped here to have their wedding photos taken. The whole area is very clean and the public restrooms were well stocked and clean. There is a play area for young children which has some novelty dinosaur eggs to climb on and through. It is an ideal spot for picnics.

Nice little park with great views and paved walkways. This is a good place to take the kids and to walk the dog.

I thought there would be more to this park but other than looking at the rocks in the ocean - which are beautiful- the park didn't offer much more.

Nice park for the kids. Great views for pictures and videos. Lots of easy parking. But probably would not visit Pismo again.

Great park within walking distance of Inn of the Cove. Gorgeous views, dog friendly, lots of benches and spots to take pictures.

Great views and plenty of parking. Walking distance to food and beach. Great picnic area and Kodak moments.

Kids loved playing on the dinosaur themed play gym. Then we hiked down to the water below to watch the waves crash on the interesting rock formations.

My twin Girls in joy the park especially the big whale in the middle of the play ground . A will
Recommend to see this beautiful
Park the view is awesome and great
Place to take children .

The park has seats that view straight out to the ocean from the cliff. If you walk a bit further, you can go down to Shell Beach. An amazing place to take photos.

This is a small park with short walking paths and a few benches that afford an excellent view of the ocean. I have visited it when there was a art festival and found it to be pleasant and cozy. Bring a picnic, book, and your dog and have a sit and chill.

it was really warm there, was pretty but not much else going on. stop on your way out somewhere else. I think if you get there at the right tide time there is more to do.

It's a park. Actually a very cute park with walkways through the flowers and along the cliffs.
Expect to view sea otters floating through the kelp forest. Great views of the cliffs and caves.
This is the perfect place to take a walk and de-stress.

We had our small wedding at Dinosaus Park in Pismo Beach. Beautiful views and the weather cooperated for the most part.

We were traveling through with young kids and loved that there was a park near by. The views and location were amazing! The park had great space for kids to run around in and for picnics. The playground area wasn't much though. Also be cautious of the cliffs for kids could easily fall. We had toddlers so that made us pretty nervous. Still I would recommend. It was a neat place to stop at and explore!

We were travelling between Cambria and Santa Barbara with two small kids so chose this as our rest stop and we were pleasantly surprised. It was a really cute, well kept park, perfect for the little ones with clean bathroom facilities. There is a picnic table should you wish to use it. The sea view was gorgeous too and it is just off the freeway so very convenient.

This is a great park to visit and walk around and look at the ocean. Is located a few blocks off the main highway and it is quite large allowing you to walk along the seaside bluffs overlooking the ocean while the kids can play at the dinosaur playground and sandlot . It was worth the trip and we took many good photographs because the location overlooking the coast is excellent for photography .

The park for the kids was so nice, quality equipment and so much fun. There wre beautiful trails as well. The cliff ledges are a pretty good distance away, but they are there so keep an eye on little ones. Its so pretty though

The park provides good play space for kids and the nearby beach access areas with rocks are particularly interesting. There can be many sea birds, depending on the day. There are stairs leading down to the beach in one location. Great sunset views.

There really isn't a whole lot to see here, but it is a pleasant place for a stroll and view of the ocean. Bring a lunch, there are picnic tables and a small play area for children. Worth an hour or two of your time.

breathtaking ocean views and great flower arrangements in the park like settings. kids play ground too, plenty of free parking. make it a pocnic! recommended meutermedia

I didn't have children with me but I wanted to look for sea otters and this place didn't disappoint. It looks like it has a summertime water play area in addition to the kid-friendly climbing structures. The name is a bit misleading until you read the historical marker which explains how it got its name - the old photo is hilarious! Great cliff-side meanderings and I actually saw a peregrine falcon whip by along the cliff, hunting. Very exciting!

This is a great little free park. Really fun for the little ones and beautiful location. Great to walk around and explore for all ages. Very peaceful there.

Cutest incredible park. Dinosaur eggs. Seal Lions. Unique and beautiful and intriguing equipment. lots of grass. Beautiful place to walk and enjoy the ocean. Bathrooms. Great location and places to park. We loved it.

We visited this amazing location twice. We saw it from above, and were fortunate to arrive at low tide and were able to take the stairs down to the beach and explore. It is breath taking and gives so many amazing photo ops. Did I mention, it is FREE? The parking is FREE as well, with its own lot. There is a cute playground and clean restrooms.

The landscaping around the park is lovely to explore along the clifftops, however the play equipment is sparse and for the toddler age. If you have a kite or or a ball to kick around this would make a great place for older kids.

I am just not sure what the big attraction is to this park. It is a nice park along the cliffs of the ocean, but I did not see anything that distinguished it from other such parks.

Beautiful bluff-side park where you can have a picnic or just sit and admire the ocean. There's was a great sea salt smell in the air

So pretty , you can walk your dog but keep close as the area has some high cliffs.
Plenty of free parking kinda a nice place to stop and relax while driving the coast.
Very nice lawn area for, a picnic. Clean park , we walked the area and it takes about 30 to 45 to complete
Nice area for kids also.

This is such a unique attractions. I love it here. Have dropped by several time for a bit of peace and quiet.

Walked through this park while I was exploring the coast line one sunny day. It looked like a fun place for children but I found it lovely as a walking park as well. Beautiful place to view sunset. Benches all around.
Clean washrooms were especially a welcome sight as I had walked from Pismo and there were none on my route til here. Well kept, comfortable, and pleasant place.

This is a very pretty location that is very well maintained. A very enjoyable place to just stroll and enjoy the scenery.

Not a lot of gym activities for the kids, but enough to entertain them. There is path along the bluffs that circles the park. Clean restrooms and easy in and out access. Great rest area.

Didn't actually stop there but drove by and far as I can tell it's a kids park with no real caves (caves can be found though below the cliffs off of the Seaside access trail). Decent sunset views but better if you drive a little farther Northwest up the coast.

Great little park for kids. Dino eggs to crawl in and out of. Dinosaurs, seals and dolphins to climb on as well as a big concrete boat. Tables for picnic. Trails for the older folks on foot or bikes that lead right to the cliffs over the pacific ocean. The view is phenomenal.

A great family park with swings, slides, etc for children. Nice clean restrooms. Very senior friendly also as there are many benches along the trails. Beautiful views of ocean, cliffs, & a variety of flowers. Concerts are given here with food venders & grassy area where blankets/chairs can be used for a picnic or use the tables/benches. Good parking & convenient to get to from Pismo. Not necessary to get on freeway.

Good place to take the nieces and nephews to play and have a ball while the adults get to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Stopped here to get out of the mayhem of Pismo beach, glad we did! Beautiful vista views, very pretty flower gardens, great overlook. Worth a stop. Don't get the whole dinosaur thing....?

Such a GREAT park for all ages! Young baby to teen! Playground with unique spiny equipment and fun sea creatures to climb. Plus beach walk along the bluff for older kids, so good. Spots for picnis, tables and grassy open area for blankets. Bathrooms. Free parking.
Beautiful spot
Beautiful spot along are the connected walking trails I’m at Pismo Beach to Shell Beach. Great views of natural rock for formations and pet friendly.
