We from Louisiana and I finally see why everyone is going to Nashville instead of New Orleans. Felt safe the whole time and there was always police seen. The bathrooms in most bars was so clean. The drinks was always good. It is crowded and drinks are a little pricey but well worth it.

Fun place to visit for adults. This area contains 50 or more bars that frequently offer live music and free admission. Many of the bars are owned by famous musicians. We visited this area during the CMA fest and it was SUPER CROWDED. Great place to enjoy a cold adult beverage and live music or just go for the people watching.

Visiting the Broadway is an absolute must, we visited on a Monday and Tuesday evening during our stay, well, what is there not to love about it!!
Incredible music in every bar which is of the highest quality....you must visit!

I used to love visiting Nashville
2014 to 2019 I went from 10+ days every year.
I was so disappointed when I returned in 2024.
I guess they are trying to make up for Covid lockdowns but the prices are ridiculous!
In the past the beers were 4-6$ each with bucket discounts
Now you pay 8-12$ per beer plus entertainment fees??
Which vary from 5$ to 55$ +
Food prices have gone to a small sandwich for 25$ and more
I paid 45$ for chicken and waffles at a dinner which was a few chicken tenders on a waffle
It used to be such a great place to go to for great music and food for an affordable price but never again. The only positive thing I can say about Nashville now is you can still afford a place to stay.
But it’s become a playground for the rich now. RIP Nashville
I can spend less traveling to a tropical island than there now

Really wanted to get pictures with all the Murals in Nashville. It happened & it was so worth it. I highly suggest you do it. I stopped in at a few souvenir shops while there & picked up some adorable momentos. I highly recommend you visit Nashville & take a bus tour. That way it takes the stress off of you driving.

Nice selection of restaurants and bars.was cool to hear them and watch bands from the sidewalk.kid rocks place was so dang loud it wasnt even enjoyable. Roof top bar restaurant was good.couldnt believe the police who stood right by homeless drunk and addicted men passed out cold on the sidewalk in a touristy area didnt make them move.quite disgusting and disturbing.

I expected lots of music and lots of bars. This was sensory overload. Loud, rowdy, packed with drunk people. The police have their hands full in this city. All this is just a few short city blocks long. A very big homeless problem here. Safety officers on segways all over the city herding the homeless from place to place to try and keep them away from the tourists. I witnessed a couple of scary episodes with drunk young women and creepy dudes stalking them in the bars. Absolutely need to keep your guard up in some of these places.
Tucked in between the bars are a few touristy type shops with the usual trinkets and a few boot shops in the mix as well. It is well worth the time to leave Broadway and walk to the Cumberland river, cross over the river on the pedestrian bridge and even take a walk along 2nd Ave to browse some of the less crowded shops and restaurants. I found the shops on 2nd Ave offered a higher quality of products.
And the music is plentiful and loud. Every bar, starting early in the day, features live music. There are endless bars to visit and did not experience any cover charges so free to wander from bar to bar for music.
Don't spend all your time inside the bars. There is much more to Nashville than a drunken booze fest.

Loud brash tacky
No such thing as getting to hear real country music just very very loud poor rock bands
Get your genuine ( made in china ) cowboy boots and hard cardboard cowboy hats
Sweet smell of cannabis everywhere plus other doggy activities
If love frying everything then go to the very large food market
Mr J Cash and co would be turning in there graves
A huge disappointment romantic images deleted

Our 1st time in Nashville. Was lucky to find close parking to the honkey tonks on Broadway. We parked at 105 1st Ave and parking was $25.00 for 5 hours. Right there you can see the Nissan Stadium and the pedestrian bridge. This area was more hopping than downtown Memphis. Checked out some bars and shops. First time I seen a Barnes Dance crossing. Now I can say I finally visited here.

We were looking forward to our trip because we thought it would be a fun place to be. During the day, there are a few things here and there, but being there for a week is WAYYY too long. There is nothing to do at night but go to bars (not our thing) on a horribly stinky, crowded street with homeless people laying everywhere. You have to pay for parking EVERYWHERE in Nashville, even getting an ice cream. The parking companies and the government work together to rob you with the parking. If you don’t see a sign somewhere, look harder, because there IS paid parking. We learned this lesson the hard way and neither the government or the parking company will work with you. Where parking should have been $5, we ended up with a $70 ticket, due to very few signs. We were excited because we thought we actually found a place that didn’t charge. This is the only vacation I have to say I don’t want to visit again.

I enjoy the downtown of Nashville. It was my first time in Nashville, TN and it is busy place. They have a lot of places to eat and drink. I enjoy their sweet pototoes fries at Rippy. There is music playing in every bar and on the street

It had been many years since we were last in Nashville but couldn't help stopping as we were passing through the area on our way to Memphis. Park the car and walk around. A bit of a challenge since there is no on-street parking and all or most of the parking lots require a phone app. We paid for two hours and hit the pavement, walking through the Nashville Music Garden and Walk of Fame Park, enjoying the design of the Music City Center, and walking along Broadway for 5 blocks on both sides of the street, checking out the live music (even at the early hour of 10am!) and the neon bar and restaurant signs. Entertaining for sure! This was an impromptu stop so we missed walking by Ryman Auditorium and probably a few other noteworthy sites.

If you're visiting and absolutely must see the Honky Tonk bars, this is where you're going to end up. I found everything along Broadway crowded, loud, and dirty.

2nd and broadway are always popping, you cant go wrong with bar hopping in nashvile and the food is always great

Traveled to Nashville M-W. The locals said it was a great time to be there since it was not as crowded as on the weekends. The freedom to fo in and out of all of the Honky Tonks was phenomenal. The only negative aspect was that several restaurants I wanted to visit are closed those days. I will be back!

Downtown Nashville offers something for all ages. Plenty of good music venues, shops and entertainment. Also the people watching is crazy and you will see some insane things. Beware of scams and theft.

we went to nashville for my birthday week i see my cosuin maddison and the airbnb is so cool and we will return soon

Love downtown Nashville, always enjoy our time here. It is getting very busy downtown. I hope they keep it clean and safe.

Great to walk around..lots to see and do..many shops & restaurants and local watering holes ! Take your time and smile at all the friendly faces!

How do you describe a super crowded experience? The streets were very crowded as were all the bars and restaurants and we went off season. There were so many homeless people along the streets. One nice feature was that many of the bars had open doors and front walls so you could hear some music even though you could not fit in the places. We were disappointed for sure.

Broadway was very busy for mid week in early June. A lot of birthday and bachelorette parties. It’s a lot of fun but be prepared to wait for a table in a restaurant and to stand in crowded bars. Most people seem to bar surf. Pan handlers are out in full force so be mindful of your surroundings.

This was our 2nd trip to Nville. Fun trip but noticed the same songs among most bands no matter which venue. The homeless with the signs are even more annoying and why the City does not crack down on this issue and allowing this problem to get worse in a the few years since we've been downtown is surprising. It was so crowded and we were there Mon to Thurs. I would never go on the weekends. No place for kids (at least Vegas has a lot more kid friendly places for kids, Nashville not) Watch for cars while at crossing walks on Broadway because some drivers not paying attention. Fun place to visit for some good music and lively entertainment, just don't go on weekends.

First visit here. Good choice. Excellent food and service. Very very busy on game so allow plenty of time.

We had no idea how much the city had changed. It was so energetic and exciting. We had so much fun hanging out with everyone.

The amount of live music in one area was amazing. The music was great and there are many talented musicians performing in Nashville. Downtown gets really busy on a Friday night! They even close down the street to traffic

Lots of good bars and good music! Drinks are expensive and be prepared to tip everyone including the bands. It is a great place to visit!

A must go experience all the live music and famous bars. Many entertainers have there bars in this Broadway area. It’s fun it can be crowded at night. I like the daytime crowd. It’s a very cool experience.

Not party city like fun, Party City like where you get your Halloween costumes, which is where half the women must have gotten their “cow boy” outfits.
Littered with belligerent homeless, sweaty smelly drunk men and women, and quite a few “ladies” and I use the term loosely that are a little desperate for attention.
That said Jason Aldean’s place was slappin
and we had a good table.
There was vomit on the sidewalk. There was also an 80 year old woman walking around in a string bikini with her proud husband.
Hope I gave you an idea of what to expect. I like to have fun but classy fun not the sloppy kind.

We spent a week in Nashville. This city is amazing. Bars with live country and rock music. Musicians change every 2-3 hours. There is no admission charge. The music was absolutely amazing for us. My wife could have spent hours in a bar.
Very peaceful and friendly in the evenings too. Big or small, fat or thin, it doesn't matter. We didn't have a single problem on the street during the whole week.
Had a hotel within walking distance. Driving would no longer have been possible after the visit.
Anyone who likes country music will get their money's worth here. Musicians are definitely very good.

Clean, nice staff, it's out of the area I would call downtown, across the street from the stadium but they have good shuttle service. Otherwise you need to Uber back. 15 minute walk to the strip.

I loved the downtown shops, bars and restaurants. We mostly like the ones owned by country stars. Every place you pass has live music going and people dancing etc. It was very crowded and very hot the day we were there. I would suggest going on a week day in cooler weather but very fun.

Fun walking tour learning of the city's murders and sights. Thank you to Tracy for a wonderful time!

Love Nashville and ALL the live music the town has to offer. As a music family, we try to go twice a year.

My husband and I were traveling too and from Florida on I 24 through Nashville. The road is horrible! Pothole so big they will bust your axle. Be careful going through Nashville

I was actually prepared for a ton of people, but it wasn’t too bad. A younger person would love it here. Lots of bars & music in all. There was a lot of road construction but it really didn’t inconvenience our walk.

Disappointed. We felt like we were in the middle of spring break. Loved the Jonny Cash museum, the Hall of Fame museum, Ryman tour & show we saw at the Ryman. But, nothing to do after that other than super loud, crowded bars filled with sloppy drunk 20 year olds. We are drinkers and it got on our nerves.

Please don't get me wrong, some of the clubs are fun and the food was great too, but overall Broadway is one dirty place. We stopped into five clubs and had something to eat and drink in each one just to sample the town. Jason Aldean's was on the top of the must go to for music and food. Just off the main road is a sushi place The Blue Sushi Sake Grill, that was also a very good stop. I like to start with the good now to the bad. The sidewalk smelled like old beer and piss. I do believe that if they would firehose the sidewalks every night, we would have a good start to the day. Please keep the people from digging thru the garbage can and making a pile of garbage on the sidewalk for everyone to have to step on or over. We watched as one person did just that and was laying on the sidewalk as a downtown cop came by on his Segway stopping to look at him then road on without having him clean up the mess and get off the ground. Dear Nashville please look at Oklahoma City and see how clean Bricktown is.

Very busy place on weekends. If you like Vegas, New Orleans (BOURBON STREET) time sq.
This is same atmosphere.
Many places to listen to some great music

great restaurants great bars great nightlife and fabulous natives.
Was extremely disappointed by the taxi industry in Nashville and it reflect poorly on the city by day 2 of my 5 day visit i would not use their service. None would use their meters and offer a flat rate ranging from 45 to 58 dollars (for what should have been a 30.00 fair) and suggesting that you must tip well being extremely arrogant and dogmatic in there approach and taking visitors for dummies.

This was my 3rd visit to downtown Nashville in 9 years and will be my last. The place has degenerated into a stinking cesspit of urine, vomit, homeless beggars and expensive bars. No real aspiring country singers, just loud rock bands playing endless cover versions. The city of Nashville needs to take a long hard look at it's "brand" before it is too late.

It was a lot more than what I had imagined. Last time, over 30 years ago, we had stayed at Gaylord, rather isolated from the town. This time we were smack in the middle of it, on Broadway. Those 5-6 blocks are probably one of the most happening places in USA. A lot of happy people, partying bachelorettes, local tourists, great American scene. Nothin vulgar or violent was ever witnessed in spite of the dense crowds. No trash anywhere, all nice and clean. Good job Tennessee! They close those few blocks at night, turns into one big party. Live music everywhere. Energy was overwhelming. Many important and worthwhile landmarks all within walking distance: Ryan Auditorium, Country Music Hall of Fame, Museum of African American Music, great restaurants and pubs and bars. Loved it. Especially appreciated how many of the older architecture was well preserved. My only comment is that in general internet speed and quality, weather WiFi or cable, was rather poor. Evidenced by the clean profile of rooftops, devoid of cellular antennas. A blessing maybe also, but not good for a modern, up and coming city.

If you are going out in Nashville make sure you take ID regardless of your age. Being 50 years old and from the UK I've not been asked for a while, ruined my whole new years eve.

We didn’t plan on taking three kids to Nashville, but we stopped while driving through. It’s a bit rowdy.

The neighborhood has everything you need: restaurants, places to go, sightseeing, etc. Very safe too. Plenty of places to stay.

Downtown Nashville is an absolute MUST visit. It is not a trip to Nashville with out a visit to downtown. Lots of bars and restaurants. Good times to be had!

Ok, get rid of the scooters all over the sidewalks! They are annoying and dangerous if you trip on them. No excuse for them not being parked in specific spots like the bike programs.
Other than that, the area was ok. Better if you are a country music fan. Layla's had more old time country. The other places we found more rock than country, which was ok by me.

some of the best bands we heard were at The Stage and Kid Rock's Bar. We were always able to get a table for 6 when we went before 11 am.

Downtown Nashville did not disappoint! We spent two nights there! People are friendly. There are tons of bars with live bands who are very talented! It was an amazing experience. & definitely get one of those Street hotdogs!!!!!

If you want to party and have an excellent opportunity to catch COVID, then downtown Nashville is for you. We were there this past weekend and I was shocked at what I saw. Broadway was packed with people, party bikes and buses going at all hours of the day, people puking on the side of the street. I felt bad for the families walking through the streets and wondered if they had been as clueless as I was at what downtown Nashville had become. I love country music and the restaurants and bars have excellent bands, but having to constantly deal with falling down drunks, especially during a pandemic, made it a poor experience for this middle aged mom.

We had a great time walking up and down Broadway. Many bars and restaurants to stop and check out. Lots and lots of live music. Party buses are all over. Not the cheapest places, but the entertainment is wonderful! It a for sure street to see.

The music is all day but the real thrill came after sundown. Every bar has live music set up right near the sidewalk. Standing in one location you can hear at least 10 different bands or musicians playing.

Broadway is one of the dirtiest places I have visited recently. The smell of trash is almost unbearable. The sidewalks need power washed to get vomit and human waste cleaned off. The trash needs to be emptied more often to reduce the smell. It is not a great place to drive, or ride bikes. Walking can be scary because of narrow streets, poor condition sidewalks and people driving too fast.

So nashville is very dirty and has a foul stench to it. There are a lot of homeless/mentally ill people..many of them have emaciated animals with them to try to get money. It really bummed me out the entire time, if your an animal lover beware of this. It's heartbreaking and may ruin your day to see that at every corner. Starving dogs and cats while the owner holds a sign saying they need money to feed them :( the foul odor of urine is on every corner...on the plus side, it is a great place for a young bunch to have a Bachelorette party. They have really cool party busses and I noticed the young people in the 20s had a blast! So if anything I'd recommend it for that age category. Total party city! Music is fantastic, restaurants were good. Drinks about 12.00 a piece (beer slightly cheaper). Traffic is awful, parking runs about 20 bucks If your lucky enough to find a garage. If your young and party I'd say you'll have a blast with your friends...if you are not (and I am not) I'd say steer clear.

We have been to Nashville many times and always have a great time. The amount of talent here is hard to imagine. EVERYONE is a fantastic musician or vocalist. YOu won't be disappointed.

We stayed downtown at the Renaissance. Its really safe to walk around. Definitely enjoy bar hopping and listening to all the various bands. We liked wild horse saloon for its space, stage, free line dancing lessons. Roberts western world is a little packed but has some great bands. Tootsie has three levels of awesome bands, the rooftop was our favorite. Lucky bastard is very touristy but does awesome drinks and has a variety of music. All these places have food but not the best. Head to a restaurant like black rabbit or assembly hall to eat. There is music everywhere! Go during the day if you have kids with you to listen to awesome talent.

Show much to see in the downtown area of Nashville. The number of bars with live music on Broadway is absolutely amazing. And these are not lousy bands they are great. Definitely worth a trip down there if you like to listen to music. We love that period

First time in Nashville and will be our last. Downtown is filthy! Homeless situation is so bad, they sit right on the sidewalks on the busiest streets, where all the music is bring played. We almost stepped on 2 folks sitting on the sidewalk. The crowds are out of control in the evening. Police trying to control it. Not to successful... Could not book any restaurants.
Only positive I can say, our hotel was very nice and comfortable and thank goodness they had a very good band playing in the Bar. Very disappointed in the trip. I had been waiting so long to make it to Nashville.

Nashville is a great city but things seemed a little more wilder than usual. I assume some pent up energy from quarantine but this visit seemed a little more wild than our last visit. There are so many bar wagons and pedal bars there are lots of people yelling and screaming with loud music. I recognize I sound prudish, but I don’t remember it being so wild the last visit.

Broadway is a hoot. Tons of venues that offer free music - many offer music during the day every day. Drinks are pricey though!

First time here and so much to see and do you won’t get bored. Wide variety of restaurants and bars to choose from and you might even see a celebrity or two.

If you're in your twenties or early to mid thirties and are the partying type, you'll love it.
It's a great place to celebrate your Bachelorette Party and OH SO MANY do!
There's drinking galore, which I can do locally, so it wasn't really my thing.
I suppose what I liked most about it was the live entertainment. The Kid Rock Bar had some really fantastic bands and was probably my favorite of the local bars we visited.

Wow! I had no idea anything like this existed. Taking the walk down Broadway every bar you come to has two or three stories some with the roof. And every level has a band and a bar and a dance floor. The big bands are fantastic. We enjoyed several of them watching the end of the night they became a blur but that’s to be expected. If you come plan on Carrdian plan on here in great music and plan on drinking. But always be safe.

Great visit during New Years celebrations week. Lots to do, not very crowded during the week. Great place to sightsee and awesome restaurants.

having never been to Nashville was not sure what to expect.
But being a country music fan, We Loved it!!! Music every where. From honky tonk to modern country music. Great food.
Would absolutely go again.

Love love Broadway!! Amazing talented musicians everywhere you turn! However avoid the weekends at all cost. Too crowded and everyone forget about covid. Go on week days to really enjoy the music and vibe!!

So much to choose from. We loved the Valentine...great music and fun. And oh the food!! You must go to Magaritaville. The ribs are the best we ever had. Everyone so friendly everywhere.

Downtown Nashville is like no place I’ve ever been. This place is crowded every day of the week. Every restaurant and every shop was crowded. The service at each place we stopped was exceptional. Nashville has it together

The hotel was excellent and the hotel staff was very friendly and the breakfast setup was excellent with the crew working it was very efficient and speedy and I believe that Asher the dasher with the golf cart shuttle service was very prompt and friendly

A great example of a good hotel.
From the minute I arrived, the valet was brilliant..check in was easy, even though we were super early.
Nashville is loud day and night, the room was silent.. a great hilton room with a great bathroom.
Breakfast is odd, it is in the central lobby area, it feels weird.
The hotel is so well situated for Broadway or the stadium.
Great place

I the evening/night, music and great fun abounds. Music and dancing and laughter everywhere. Don't miss it!

A little bit of everything here. Every type of restaurant, entertainment, sports, all in walking distance. Just book hotel near the Country Music Hall of Fame and you'll be in the thick of things. I would recommend the Old Town Trolly, tour the Country Music Hall of Fame, enjoy the different foods the Assembly Food Hall, and eat your way though the main strip. Only downsize, everything is very expensive as is expected this day and age!

The latest we stayed was 7 PM, but saw it in all hours of the day. Bars were crowded in July. It is a fun street. Walk around, pick you kind of busy, band and atmosphere.
What I didn't like was the constant begging for cash by the bands. I wish there was a cover instead. The drinks are crazy expensive (like 12 $ a beer) and then you have the singer come to you with a bucket asking to support the band. I found that annoying and I didn't know how much to pay, mostly when I had been there for 5 minutes only.
Cleanliness both on the street and in the toilets of bar is not good, and often, there is no paper. Bring supplies with you.
Otherwise, we liked the bands, the neons and the experience overall.

Parking is expensive...night life is crowded.....If you enjoy music the best time is the morning beginning at 10AM.....then the real Nashville shows up. You will be able to enjoy the interaction of local talent without a crowd of intoxicated millennials.....and do not miss the Grand Old Opry.....get as close the stage as possible.....Fabulous.

Did not stay downtown. Cost in city parking lot would of been $40.00 for 3 hours. That's highway robbery. We went to Opryland at the Grand Ole Opry. and parked for free and did the back stage tour and then got tickets for the Grand Ole Opry show. Had a far better time. We also did the American pickers building and the rest of the shops in that mall.

This is why bachelorettes flock to Nashville: Broadway. Late night bars, awesome food, and non-stop debauchery make downtown Nashville one of the premier party spots in the country. Just be ready for total mayhem!
You've been warned,
Clayton Cohn

Spent 4th of July visiting music row and the local sites. Had a great time except for the scam that is their public parking. I strongly recommend avoiding the Metroplis parking lots. There is no rate posted other than on their web app that says a max of $50 per day. We parked for 3 1/2 hours and were charged $50! I should have used a covered lot that had a day price of $25 posted.

Very nice place if it wasn’t for the homeless. I know there human to but my recent trip there was horrible. There everywhere and they harassed me and my daughter like crazy. Walked right out of kid rocks bar just to see one with his pants down pooping. Right there in front of the restaurant. Never again! I left after three hours.

Absolutely loved Nashville !!!!!! Exciting to stroll down Broadway both day and night. Music was so great everywhere and the range was from Bluegrass to Country to Rock.

Great party place for sure loved it wish I would have gone when I was younger.
Went for my daughter dirty 30 with 10 other ladies and everyone loved it.

Unexpected crowds for a Thursday! Combo of Bourbon Street/Duval on steroids. Blocks of music venues, crowds on the street listening, trying to walk by, homeless in abundance, some holding creative signs which either shocked you or made you smile, packed restaurants, police/security visible and great people watching…if you could find a place to sit/stand and observe. Will return but earlier in the evening and have heard Monday-Wednesday are ‘slower’ and try one of their restaurants.

By vehicle - you can easily see many sites in downtown Nashville; take quarters if you plan to park and walk around. Not too crowded, and lots of people visiting/in the vicinity of downtown.

Do your research and plan your trip ahead of time. We stayed in Arts District and I was not aware that so many businesses and restaurants were permanently closed from pandemic and bombing. Nashville is lovely and safe to visit but make sure to research and stay near museum or Franklin.

Nashville’s Broadway is fun but is no longer worth a visit due to the dangerous traffic. You will be at high risk of getting run over or being struck in an automobile accident. If neither of those happen, the potholes will destroy your vehicle. You can’t drive a mile without seeing a broken down vehicle or passing an ambulance or law enforcement in pursuit. Keep yourself and loved ones safe.

We spent one night in Nashville on a roadtrip we took. After checking in at the hotel we asked the bartender if there was anything to do, given that it was a Tuesday. After a quick laugh, he let us know that it doesn't matter what day it is in Nashville and pointed us towards downtown and Broadway St. We walked over and sure enough, it was buzzing with life. Lots of bars, music, food, and fun! We had kids from 6-16 and even they enjoyed looking around and walking the area. We had a great time, and even agreed that Nashville deserves a trip unto itself.

Downtown Nashville in the morning is nice since it's not very crowded but after 11am be prepared for crowds...even in the middle of the week! We didn't stay too long but we did take advantage of a nice candy shop and a few gift shops. Like most big cities there are a lot of homeless people in Nashville but normally they won't bother you. Be prepared to pay a lot for parking though especially if you're gonna spend the whole day. I paid $42 to park in a lot not far from the country music hall of fame and Museum. But it was close to everything so I guess it's worth it...

Crazy city!!! Loved it. Kuke Bryan's 32, Jason Aldeen's, Kid Tock's, Honky Tonk, Florida Georgia Line!!! WOW.
Pure craziness but such fun & great food!

Overwhelming boozefest to say the least.
Pros, beautiful river. Amazing musicians. Cool lookings buildings. Good food outside the bars. History. Sports and shows.
Cons, drunks, homeless people, $10 bud lights, gross sticky, filthy floors, streets, bathrooms.
Temper your expectations but its really a tourist trap after your money.

Oh yes it’s a magical place to come yes or no they don’t but we have experienced the Nashville crowd many times here lately we are very excited about going back again and we hope that there’s no snow in January

Loved this area, lots of bars, all with bands or singers. Plenty to do and see, we took the hop on bus tour, worth doing and great commentary.

Fun party atmosphere on Broadway. Honky Tonks line both sides of the street. Great place to people watch, listen to great music and have a few drinks!

Lots to see and lots to do! Absolutely packed with people wanting to have a good time. Street food, a few street performers and cowboy boots on every corner.

LOTS of fun! I duped this area Vegas with a twang. Bars and novelty shops galore. Bars actually take out a front window so you can see and hear the live band. The street was busy (October) but we expected that. Don't forget to walk on the side streets. These bars are less busy but still very fun.
A safe area to walk. We noticed the street does not come alive until after 5pm. It got busier as the night went on. We were there from 4:30pm to 10:30pm.
There are also resturants but we did not eat in this area.
Expect to pay $25-$70 for parking. We were 3 blocks off and paid $30.

Way way better than Bourbon Street. Not the best in the world, but for a bar street it was clean and had a lot of bars to choose from.

We spent A honky-tonk weekend in Nashville. One of our favorite thanks to do was cruise the strip of downtown. They live music boards you into the bars. We had such a good time day or night.

Great location near downtown.
Affordable price and clean facilities
Staff encounters were friendly and helpful.
Slept well in a comfortable bed and quiet room.
Pool was only negative as it was out of commission.
We will definitely return to this location again soon

Bar life! Great amount for various bars and bands playing in all different levels of bars. Good place to people watch, but we had teen boys and weren't able to do much after 7:00pm as you needed to be 21+.

Nashville, Little city in a big town. I actually love Nashville, but something has changed since our last visit 3 years ago. This trip, people less friendly, actually outright rude. Sidewalks are increasingly dangerous, due to homeless, panhandlers, bicycles, scooters. and other motorized conveyances. All of the rentals have signs which read DO NOT RIDE ON SIDEWALKS. Most can't read, they endanger anyone using the sidewalk properly. Signage for buses is confusing. Print on them what bus number they are serving. traffic, don't drive in downtown! I cannot praise the police enough. I felt very secure. God Bless them, they have a mess to deal with every weekend, but they were always pleasant, helpful and interacted with a smile on their face.

My last visit to downtown Nashville was in May 2019 and it has changed for the worst. I have gone every couple years for the last ten years. So many people that you can not safely maneuver on the side walks, There are many homeless people. No place to get a meal without extremely load music playing . The city is dirty and not family friendly anymore. Hotels are extremely expensive. I would avoid the downtown area.

Lower Broadway’s honky tonks were everything we expected, complete with open windows and live music pouring out. Plenty of sidewalk space with some people in masks, some not. A must-see if you are downtown.

If you like rock and roll or country music, you have to go to Downtown Nashville and enter in all the "honky tonk bars" at Broadway Av, between 1st and 5th Street

...of the word.
Essentially, it's about 800 meters up Broadway and down the same stretch on the other side. One bar at a time with live music and in between some – of course – souvenir shops and specialized stores on – what else? – cowboy hats and cowboy boots.
Kid Rock and Jon Bon Jovi have their own stores here and some country music stars like Hank Williams and A.J.
What I found very pleasant: all the fun starts in the afternoon from 14/15:00 and not until midnight. And the windows to the street are deliberately wide open, so that passers-by can hear the music and see if they like the shop and the band.
There is no charge for admission to the bars, of course you should also take into account appropriate tips for the bands in addition to your drink or beer, because people live off it after all. In front of each band there is always a small bucket for tips.
Yes, there are some begging homeless people, but they are not penetrative and do not impose themselves. No aggressiveness, there are a lot of police on the road, which gives you a sense of security.
Downtown Nashville has a parking problem, I recommend the cheap parking garage under the Music City Center, at the point where the 6th Abenue/corner of Demonbreu passes under the building, P2 for example.
Building passes by

So much fun to experience the downtown scene on Halloween. Even a Monday night was hopping. Great music options!

This is where my best friend wanted to go for her 40th celebration and it did not disappoint. Our hotel, Marriott Renaissance, was two blocks from the action aka Broadway. Broadway is lined with Bar, Live Music and Shopping and you can always get into something. I would review each place but to be honest I was basically drunk from noon to night and can’t remember each place we went to. If you are looking for a good times and good music this is the place to go.

This downtown is for young people wanting to get wasted and party all day. Hotels really stick it to tourists starting Thursday through Sunday. The Opry, CW museum and Printer’s Alley far better than anything on Broadway. It’s the bachelorette and Bachelor party Mecca of America

Please people STOP BRINGING YOUR LITTLE KIDS to Nashville!! All the bars are 21 to enter, there is absolutely nothing fr kids to do here however you still see people pushing strollers, kids screaming throwing fits. Its not fun for anyone

Crazy fun. Live music in every bar. Open windows let you hear them all. Fantastic neon signs. Crowded on Friday on Saturday. I loved Thursday the best because there weren't lines to get in and you could easily bar hop. Multi ages having a grand ole time. Area feels very safe despite homeless population.

We enjoyed downtown Nashville, and we’re in our sixties! Yes it was heaving, hot and loud, but in a totally different way to Bourbon or Beale Streets in NO or run-down Memphis. Here, the beautiful people strut around in cowboy boots and stetsons, and deal in music and laughter rather than tack and weed. We weren’t bothered once by anyone for money, and everyone seemed to be there for one reason - to enjoy themselves and ensure that everyone else had a good time too. We are here at the time of the CMA awards, so there were several places off limits to riff raff like us (eg the Riverside…) but nonetheless those places we could get to, we really liked.

Wonderful city that is easy to navigate, with friendly people having a great time walking and riding the open air buses.

I don't think you can visit Nashville without going onto Broadway and the side streets and not hopping into at least one Honky-tonk. Once you step into one you will become emersed into the music the flowing drinks and the livelihood of the locals and the visitors there for a good time. Then that "just one" attitude of either a drink or bar situation will be throw out the window and it will become....... "JUST ONE MORE" and one bar will become hopping through (or crawling) to multiple ones down the strip LOL!

We have come to Nashville many times but this time around we were disappointed 😞. We entered many bars and we barely heard any country music. They played all lot of rock and they had oldies and we were hoping to hear country songs. I went to Miranda Lambert bar and I hear all oldies not one single song of Miranda and honestly I wanted to go there to hear her songs while I was eating food at her restaurant. Nashville overall is not the Nashville I remember a few years ago.

It is loud, dirty and without any appeal unless you are a drunk bachelorette dancing on a open top bus.

My second visit to downtown Nashville in 4 years. I have to say this time around the homeless and panhandlers have REALLY taken over Broadway. What a shame because where else can you go to enjoy so much good music, food and drinks. I paid 40.00 to park and I wasn’t even out of my car yet and there was a guy right up my back, no mask asking for money. Really??? The car that pulled in next to me didn’t even have a chance to turn his car off and a man approached his window! Start walking down the street and they are every where. One took up the whole corner sleeping out cold on a 10 x 10 tarp with 3 of his buddies on the other side of the sidewalk so you could barely pass on the sidewalk. Men walking around with very large cardboard signs one said “smile if you masturbate”... What??? Probably the worst and most unbelievable thing I saw was a homeless man walk up to the Elvis statue that stands in front of a store, He was sticking his tung in the statues mouth. It was so disgusting as there was people taking pictures with that same statue. I had to leave. Anywhere you try to stand and enjoy yourself is ruined because this is being allowed, They have no regard for your personal space and they make you very uncomfortable. Where are the city police, I did not see one the whole time I was there. Did not feel safe and was very uncomfortable. You can see that many people were being bothered by this very sad situation. Please do something to clean this up!

If you want to party late into the night, this is the place. If you don’t, well this is not the place. Here’s a tip, the music continues during the daytime. If you don’t want to fight the roaming bachelor and bachelorette parties for space on the crowded sidewalks, you can still get the same flavor (food, alcohol, music) at 2 pm.

The third place that we visited on our first full day in Nashville was downtown. Some of it has changed since 1997 but much has not. This is the only place that we had to pay for parking ($25.00 US). That said, it was quite a busy place on a Monday afternoon.
We wanted to eat lunch at Hatie B's but there was a long lineup (over an hour) so we chose the Blanco Cocina + Cantina restaurant instead. We ate at Hatie B's the next day at one of their other locations.

Downtown Nashville especially around the convention center, Broadway and the ice hockey arena is a fun place for a short trip. Lots of live music (not just country) and loads of restaurants. Many nice hotels. However there is a Big homeless population and we were approached countless times.

Way to wild for me. Lots of bars loud music and people everywhere. Beer is hot and average ten dollars for a bottle. Sidewalks uneven no safe for walking no mask during covid May I repeat dirty. I think it could be dangerous walking alone or in a small group.

Found a yummy sweet shop on 2nd called “Matteessens”.
Shared a 1/2# cookie, and druouled over the fudge on display.
A must stop!

Downtown Nashville is actually Lower Broadway, or the Honky Tonk Highway. It has a wild party atmosphere on the weekends with lots of out-of-town revelers, including bachelorette parties. The clubs on the strip offer live music and have no cover charge. But it can be hard to find a seat during the prime time hours. The bands are largely cover bands playing hit tunes. If you’re looking for future stars you are better off going to Printer’s Alley, I’m told. That’s just a couple blocks away.

Three words: trashy trashy, trashy! There is so much trash you could literally clean the highways with a bulldozer! I hear it is a “nice city” and people have alot of fun, so why not do the work to clean up the area and the image?

Went for the 4th celebration! Concert was great. Fireworks were awesome!! Stayed at Best Western right downtown. Only negative was the heat and humidity, but cannot control mother nature!

if you are over 30 Forget the downtown area specifically Broadway because it is more crowded than times square at New years eve. The place is flooded with bachlorette party girls --most of them highly intoxicated--then coming down the next morning ,the smell of stale alcohol and vomit is absolutely gross. Glad there are other parts of Nashville that are better than that, This area is not a place to take a child Believe me there are other areas of Nashville that have better music and a better vibe than this.

Yee Haw, this place is really buzzing 😁 and that’s 24hrs seven days a week ✊
Nothing stands still and it’s not every block that has live music it’s every bar..
The street is just a wave of atmosphere and fun which sweeps up and down the street engulfing everyone standing in its path, now that’s infectious and one we all need to encounter 🤗
I really can’t say to much that you haven’t thought off already and one in which you wouldn’t want to celebrate 🤩

We went with a group of teens on a Monday evening and had a great time. It was still really busy but not packed to capacity. It is a little reminiscent of Vegas strip with the cool neon signs but much more family friendly. The group went shopping (cowboy hats for all) and stopped at Jason Aldean’s, Luke’s, Florida Georgia Line, and Ole Red. Every one we went to had great love music. About 9:00-10:00 they shut down bars for under 18/21. We parked in a ramp on 3rd st/Broadway for $15.

We had traveled to Nashville many years ago and really enjoyed. This trip we found the city to be less than tidy. The streets were dirty and the river front was 'trashy' Clean it up Nashville !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very interesting and enjoyable.wonderful group on the tour and a terrific driver. Have your camera or phone ready

There wasn’t a night (even during the week-although Sunday was slow) that it was not hopping. There are hundreds of bars. If you font drink, you can get food in most and all have live music. Get there early because you will end up standing.
We went (for the first time) to the Grand Ole Opry. Loved it! Loved the small size. Unfortunately we had two grown women (age about 35-40) who were seated right behind us and screamed the ENTIRE time; so loud that it actually hurt our ears. They were a bit of a spoiler but as far as the accommodations and show, it was awesome.

The place is simply overrun with loud, rude, drunk people. You'd think you were on Bourbon Street during Mardi Gras. All the cool honky-tonk bars are now four-story drunk farms with music playing way too loud. Don't think cool and historic, think New York City on New Years Eve. It was terrible. I can't believe the city encourages this. It's not even walkable at noon. Don't dare take any children down there with you.

It's unfortunate that parking is so expensive. The sign said $8 and it actually was $21. It's crazy at night, recommend going during the day. Still great music, just not bustling.

Ticket division Officer Taylor gave me a ticket and had my vehicle towed from a legal parked space cost me 50.00 for ticket and 218.70 to get my car out of impound. After a nice evening downtown. Sad that they issue tickets to out of state visitors who were parked legally. I double checked sign over and over. See picture below of where I was parked which had new cars in the parking spot my vehicle was towed from. I believe it is a scam, Office and Millers towing are in this together. And to fight the ticket I would have to drive back for a court date get a hotel room and drive home. So they got you knowing you can’t fight this ticket. I will never return to Nashville again. Will go to Las Vegas strip before I return to this city or state. Put a bad taste in my mouth. Called the court office. Clerk said there is nothing I can do except request a date to have ticket looked at by judge. 10 hour drive down can’t do it. Just warning others who go to Nashville to use parking garage where at least you know your vehicle is safe. Funny thing is I was so excited to find these three spots on 2 nd and Broadway. A gentleman in a car said those spots are legal not many people know about them. I was happy I scored a free spot since day before parking was 30.00 in garage. There is a sign there NO Parking from here to corner. And there was a sign No parking here to driveway. Well I was in one of the three spots in the middle. Marked in the ground with white markings on each spot. See pics below. Be careful in Nashville.

Was the best 4th EVER! Front row for Brad Paisley and every one was friendly and well behaved. Great bars and a lot of fun.

Downtown Nashville sure has changed since I lived there. I always loved Nashville and enjoyed going to downtown. There is still great live music everywhere you turn. It’s a bit crowded on the weekends, but it’s totally worth it. I suggest taking an Uber instead of a car. Parking is very expensive and was hard to find when we visited.

Such a great city, music, BBQ, fun too bad it is getting overrun with homeless. I paid 40.00 to park and I didn’t even finish putting my parking ticket in my car and there was a homeless man right up my back asking for money. Went to spend some time listening to music and have some fun however there are people begging every where. One corner was not even passable because on the sidewalk there was a homeless man sleeping on a ten by ten tarp and three others were sitting across from him, there was a men carrying a sign that said Smile if you masturbate REALLY? They are everywhere you walk. Couldn’t even stand and listen to music without someone begging or getting really in your personal space. Now the most disturbing thing that happened was a homeless man went up to the Elvis statue outside of a store and started licking the mouth of the statue, this same statue that people were taking pictures with... I don’t know but the city should be doing something to protect people who visit the city and help the homeless. Clean up Broadway!

Most Bar tenders are rude! Why can’t they be nice we are spending money here. We did some bar hopping are a lot of the bartenders were rude. We’ll take our money elsewhere

Holy Cow……..we enjoyed everything about Nashville BUT downtown. Thursday afternoon was ok and we endured it. Let’s just say it wasn’t classy. But by Friday afternoon….disgusting, smelled like puke and pot, mobbed and no real enjoyment to be had anywhere. Like a massive frat rave. Girls puking in corners….one passed out cold on sidewalk. Shoulder to shoulder packed in sticky places with overpriced bad drinks in plastic cups. Do yourself a favor. Stay on the outskirts and visit all the surrounding attractions.

Stay away from downtown at least in terms of parking. For a meter violation, the cost was $70. And, when trying to pay for a private lot first, there was an issue using the app so I left the parking lot but the app still charged me. See likes a nice arrangement between the city and the parking lots. Some one is making lots of money

Spend a few hours, spend a whole day, hopping between bars to listen to the many sounds of Nashville. So many options. Live music seems to be everywhere, almost 24 hours a day. With most bars having live music on multiple floors. If you don’t like what you are listening to, simply go to another floor or to another bar.
It’s like a constant New Year’s Eve party atmosphere.
Always felt very safe.

Rated a 3 instead of 4 only due to all construction going on everywhere. One day/night trip to Nashville with people that cant walk a long time. Real quick to get an uber. Although all places looked packed we walked right in to Rippys and found a good seat. At lunch randomly went into Tin Roof and had some good tacos and quesadillas. It’s been a few years since I had been to Nashville. Construction going on everywhere. Driving was hard.

Downtown Nashville is unlike any other city. the main street is lined with bars and every one had a least one live band playing. The larger bars had a band downstairs and another on the rooftop. The beer and the food were excellent. We had such a good time here. Very few masks to be seen. Thank God covid seemed to be over here and life was normal again.

Broadway is like a country music version of Bourbon Street. Inebriated scantily clad wannabes ride around in open-sided vehicles yelling over loud music in bachelor parties, etc...meanwhile the sidewalks are wall to wall people going from bar to bar day and night, many of them also inebriated. The sound is like a battle of the bands, the smell is atrocious and the scooters are all over the place. Not a good look for any city. We saw very few police and we encountered beggars and grifters every few feet...we could not wait to leave the street fast enough.

I'll do my best to give advice for first timers, since I just went for the first time. We got advice from a friend to stay just outside of downtown on Division St. There's several places to stay along here and they are typically less than downtown. It's also a fun neighborhood to bar hop and eat that's way less chaotic than downtown on Broadway. I'm not saying to avoid downtown because that would be a shame, just know that you can retreat about 20 minutes away. As far as downtown goes, spend an entire day exploring all it has to offer. During the day is al lot easier to get into places but music is still awesome. Heads up, backpacks are not allowed into any downtown establishment. There also isn't a mask in sight, so if that concerns you, probably avoid down there at night when it's crazy. There isn't bad music to be found, everyone is amazing. Heads up #2, downtown drink prices are comparable to Vegas, just so you know. If you have any questions specifically please hit me up.... brentellis1969@gmail.com. Have fun!

Lots to see and do here. Can get very noisy and crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. See some Honky Tonks and eat some BBQ!

Certainly a fun place to spend an evening. Live music everywhere. It’s definitely set up for the 40 year old drunk. We are not drinkers so I’m guessing I don’t get it completely

We loved the vibrant feel of the city as 1st timers and spent most of our time in and around Broadway and the SoBro district. The number of music bars and clubs is staggering as well as the history, museums, hotels, restaurants, shopping, and the ease of movement walking around the city. Broadway was packed on a Tuesday afternoon, and you can see how they have taken a road lane out to make wider sidewalks to accommodate the crowds. What a contrast to the cities with dead downtowns such as Seattle, Portland, Baltimore, Chicago, San Fransisco, Philadelphia etc. and the politics that run them. It doesn't mean there is no crime, but we felt very safe in Nashville. We loved the pedestrian bridge across the river to the stadium.

If you enjoy live Country and Western music, you cant beat downtown Nashville. Every place I went from saloons to Taco Bell had live music. It was a amazing time to listen to up and coming talent.

We enjoyed our stay in Nashville but walking around the city was not pleasant. Lots of garbage on the streets. For such a touristy place I would expect the city to take better care of it's walk ways.

Stay away from the Premier Parking cartel. Will boot your car as you renew parking, which you cannot do on the app. Only way to fix is to avoid. Boot company is the Taliban. Screw them.

Nashville, Tennessee is the quintessential country music destination. As a self-proclaimed lover of the city, I've barely scratched the surface, but already feel immersed in its vibrant culture. For fans of country music and Southern cuisine, Nashville is truly the place to be, boasting celebrity-owned bars and restaurants like those of Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan. Beyond the honky-tonks, the city offers a wealth of museums and parks that showcase its rich history and scenic beauty. Visitors can also explore the downtown area on party buses or truck pulls that provide guided tours. There is an abundance of sights and activities to discover in this lively Tennessee capital.

Great Music. LIVE $8. BEER Plus tips. No cover charge. Where can you go enjoy yourself with live music. live.

We had a great time downtown. The music, food, shopping, architecture...enjoyed it all. Many dining choices, plenty of bars, nice varity of things to do and see. If you enjoy people watching, this is the place to go!

Walking downtown Nashville is a must. Need to do so late afternoon and during evening hours. Hear good country music and feel the energy of the place. You can't help but want to dance.

Tons of energy, great music from so many bands, lots of bars and entertainment. If you don't like country music though, don't go.

My friend and I are seniors, and this was just a bit much for us. I’m sure I would’ve loved it 50 years ago! The crowds and loud music were just a bit much for us! Lots of drunks and beggars, which was off-putting. Even during the day, it was packed!

We were touring colleges in the area and walked downtown. This might have been fun on a girls weekend but not with my family in tow.

March 2021, not February 2021 Trip Advisor. March is almost over and it’s still not an option??
Downtown is crazy but tons of fun. Lots of shops, restaurants & music. You can find just about anything down there. Parking is expensive tho so might be cheaper to Uber or Lyft.

If you look for nightlife in Nashville, this is the place . Lots of Bars , clubs , restaurants, and very loud music .also shops are open in the evenings.

This was my first trip to Nashville, and my daughter and I were in downtown Nashville both during the day and at night. I found that the moment you stepped in the vicinity, you couldn't help but feel the atmosphere change to one of excitement. I found I had a smile on my face almost the entire time, and there is so much to just look at, much less do. Every type of restaurant or bar you could think about, music playing everywhere, shopping, etc. It was such a cool environment!

Loved the music and the bars. The party atmosphere was evident. Saturday the lines were long to enter the bars. If you prefer to have room to breath, Saturday would not be the day to go. Thought the city would be cleaner than New York, but I was mistaken. The city was dirty and many homeless people on the street. It was definitely sad to see. Musicians were talented.

Really had a fantastic time...
We spent the better part of two days roaming around downtown (Broadway) and had a ball.
Ryman, Hall-of-Fame, listening to music - it was all great. People were nice, we felt very safe and comfortable, and enjoyed the whole experience.
We went during the day and it was enough energy for us.
I couldn't imagine what it is life at night.
We will certainly be back with concert tickets in hand.

Visited in December with 70 degrees weather. It was around 6-9 pm and the bars were already packed. Not a lot for kids outside of restaurants, ice cream shops, and some tourist trinket shops. It’s definitely a unique and interesting visit. Only down side is the amount of beggars and the drunks walking around harassing people. They get going by 7 PM so it starts early. Tons of live music bars and some really good restaurants. Worth a visit but a stroll through might be enough with a nice place to eat. We ate at The Distillery which was delicious.

This is my second time writing about Nashville. First time I went,it was February and we had a great time, shopping and eating, doing tours... now we decided to pass through again after visiting Texas and we couldn't even walk down the streets,it was so crowded, could barely drive with all the traffic, and booze trucks with people partying and couldn't get into a place to eat on the strip. Everything was packed like a can of sardines and stunk of old alcohol and smoke including weed, and even if you did get in,forget about talking, because even when you were on the street it was so loud so forget about inside!. We had to get out of the area to eat. It was claustrophobic! You will like it if you are young and like to get drunk and sloppy.

Just had time for a short visit but caught a songwriters night at Copperbranch vegan/vegetarian restaurant downtown. Awesome food and great music! I heard Alaska Black, Theresa Portillo and Clay Lutz. Amazing musicians/performers, couldn’t believe my luck for quality, or maybe that’s just Nashville!
One thing. If you park using metropolis app, while convenient, when it says maximum 45usd. It means you are getting charged 45usd no matter how short your stay. There is no reduced fee for reduced time. That is definitely not clear which is a tad shady, add to the fact that they pop up the survey over your receipt so you will do that first before you see the total, suggests they are aware of their deliberate mislead. So beware. That said it was convenient and easy parking, if somewhat vastly overpriced.
The music and food still made for an amazing taste of Nashville!!!

Downtown Nashville is a sight to see. Busy like any other major city, there is plenty of opportunities for people watching. Lots of places to buy boots and see live music. We loved just walking around.

Fabulous B and B in a trending neighborhood that has a courtyard for late night revelry, wonderful meals. We found music and divine bourbon at the Belle Mead distillery, bought art at Hatch prints, visited the famous bookstore and had a blast. Did not appreciate the walk by the river as it was overgrown and not managed well.

Our tour guide of Nashville was Tim Sullivan with Patent Leather. He did a wonderful job of showing us all the various studios where country music stars got their start, historic buildings, churches, etc while sharing tidbits about the various people who had an influence on this city. He also sang and played for us.

We enjoyed our visit to Nashville. There are many restaurants and interesting places to see in the downtown area of Nashville, I recommend a visit.

It's definitely a party vibe. Drunk trolleys and everything. Broadway is off the chain as early as 5pm.... Everything's overpriced and loud. If you're staying in a hotel downtown and wish to get some rest at night, GOOD LUCK! Constant music playing, sirens, homeless ppl screaming to the top of their lungs, burnouts... It's not family friendly at all!

Broadway in Nashville is full of bars and Music venues. Artist are discovered on Broadway in Nashville. It is loud, drinking is everywhere and if you are in Nashville plan a visit. It is fun.

My wife and I visited Downtown Nashville two of the evenings of my visit to Nashville during a business conference this past February. It was not exactly what I was expecting. It was grungy and had a vibe similar to what I felt in New York City Time Square. It was crowded and loud and off putting to me. It was not worth it in my opinion.

Excellent venues to enjoy the best live music, accompanied by a good drink in a party atmosphere. I recommend Honky Tonk Central for music and drink, the food is not good.

First time visiting Nashville. We had a grand time! We took a bus tour of the city. It was 1 hour long and we saw pretty much everything downtown. Check out Woodland Indian restaurant...it was amazing! It’s all vegetarian. What a find!
Fun city even with the music shut down, it will be even better once the music and people are back!

Vibrant street with many bars and lots of loud live music. Some great restaurants and a good selection of foods. Plenty to do and see.

Went to the Hermitage but was on Broadway for most nights. We spent 3 whole days and nights there. The experience was great as usual, this not being the only time there. Our daughter turned 21 and wanted to experience Nashville. So on the 2nd night there she drove us all to downtown to have a great time. ( We parked in a legal space on 2nd street) did not block any driveways and the parking was marked on street with no, No parking signs. Went to enjoy, came out at 2am and found out car was towed away (With a ticket attached that said illegally parked). So getting the car back costed $255.00. The ticket was $55.00. So Saturday night costed us $ 305.00 extra that the City robbed us for. So you know the old saying, You can't fight City Hall? It's true. We live in another state and for us to fly back and take this to court is a joke!
So beware if you drive into Nashville, take pictures of where you park, We did and they won't even talk to you. You have to fly back and fight it, which is wrong. I give the good time in Nashville a 5 star rating. But the City cops get a Big Fat 0! They rob people along with tow company! I think it's a racket that needs investigation.
We figured if this happened to us? How many others a night, a week, and a year they are Robbing!!

Seeing all the businesses, live music playing, country boot store, beautiful old building, lots if people walking the side walks.. really cool

fun place but expensive to park in areas. plenty to see and do like museums to food and music. walking tours available.

Important facts - I am over 60 and I love live music.
Our first night downtown Nashville - I nearly froze from all the sensory stimulation.
Our second and third nights were much more enjoyable.
Love the bars and great music - music everywhere.
Too bad so much of the drinks and food is served in plastic.
Make sure you do an evening walk across the walking bridge.

My daughter & I just returned from a three day trip to Nashville. The talent in the bars was outstanding. Our two favorite bars were Kid Rock & Tootsies. The bands were incredible. Love the atmosphere. All of the staff was amazing.

I was surprised how clean and safe it was to walk the strip. There were only a couple of corner beggars, however they did not bother anyone. Lots to see, hear and do, good place for families.

It was my first time in Nashville . If you love country music the bands are the most talented you will see . Broadstreet is great for the entertainment but gets extremely crowded . You are a tourist and treated as such . Be careful walking by the river day or night . It was the dirtiest city and I’m by NYC so that speaks volumes .

We visited twice on our stay. First at night. The bars were packed ,but we found a bar/restaurant with a local duo playing. It was not too crowded (on a Thursday night). The prices on food and alcohol are really high. During our day visit -it was much more crowded.

It was our first time in Nashville and our hotel was on Broadway. We walked down Broadway several times - day and night time. Every bar had a band and you could hear them all play at the same time. The streets smelled like vomit. Lots of Bachelorette parties. Very loud cars and trucks racing up and down the road and motorized scooters everywhere. The scooters weren’t supposed to be on the sidewalks but people road them on there and then just left them wherever so you could trip over them.

We were passing through and stayed the night. Due to Covid, the tourist places are closed (Grand Ole Opry etc) so will need to come back at a normal time. We walked along the river and then up the main street.
I give Nashville a 3 for being COVID non-compliant. People wearing masks are minimal and there are too many people in the bars and restaurants. Staff in stores are not all wearing masks either. I could not believe how many bars had people in them at 11 a.m in the morning!

Only went downtown. Loud, lots of places to eat and listen to music. Didn't care for the amount of people asking for money.

Love the place and the ambiance!! Just walk the street up and down to get a feel. Go to a rooftop bar to watch the game or just hangout. Great location

We booked our trip last minute and enjoyed all of it. A good mix of food and entertainment for all of us. Easy to walk.

If you go you have to visit Broadway honkey tonks. But the locals stay away because it can be mayhem. I've never seen so many drunk people half stumbling down the street and I still don't understand why the city allows the party wagons to ride up and down the street with a bunch of intoxicated people yelling and howling like high schoolers on their first night out. Again, in some of the bars the bands are great, but Broadway at it's busiest is one big drunkfest. Watch your wallets and purses too as their are scumbags in the area that look for easy vicitms.

Loved it! So many fun places to go into. Free entrance and all the awesome music you can stand! I'd go again to all of them in a heartbeat!

It's what you'd expect for a tourist town. Lot of people and cars. Kinda smelly to be honest. The music and shops are awesome once you get into them, but its so crowded all times of day.
You pay to park. Book online for cheaper parking!!

My wife and I spent three nights in downtown Nashville in early June during the weekend of the CMA Fest. Three nights was scarcely enough. One more day would have been perfect. A Walking Tour of the Downtown Area is highly recommended - look for Ryan on Viator tours! He was excellent. Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse is also well worth visiting - look for Darrell as your server. The Ryman Auditorium is a must see as is the Grand Ole Opry. Book tickets in advance for the latter. Allow three hours for the Country Music Hall of Fame and then visit Redneck Riviera on lower Broadway - where Jessica Ridley and her Band may be playing if you are in luck. Etch Restaurant is pricey but definitely worth a look if you like good food. Finally, visit AJ's Goodtime Bar at 421 Broadway for a nightcap! You won't go wrong if you do all that! Finally, we had no worries about safety in Downtown Nashville, certainly this side of midnight. We never felt uneasy.

Club after club of great music...all kinds of music! Great food, too. People watching is very interesting,

This was a crazy time to visit Nashville. It seemed like all of the folks were there for the foliage, not sure, buit it was really busy on Broadway at the end of October. Lines at most of the good bars and lines all day at the restuarants. 4 floor bars were full. The streets were mobbed. I think this is the bachelorette capital of the world. I can not tell you how many open air buses we saw with girls dancing and drinking. It was crazy.

This was our second time here in Nashville it’s been three years since our first visit we had such a great time first time around we wanted to come again. We enjoy the food and bars. So many places with amazing food. As we are walking around the streets, day or night, always being approached by pan handlers and homeless on most corners. It will ruin Nashville and the enjoyment because people are not going to continue coming if this is happening. Business owners and the town need to clean up the problem before it gets out of hand.

walking down Broadway, whether it day or night, is a must for a Nashville visit. Nightlife and the lights are bright and hopping!

Downtown Nashville has turned in to nothing but a skanky, stinky and trashy attraction!!! How disappointing!!! Live 2 hours from there & have been going downtown for years. Get rid of the party buses. Never should have allowed country artists open up their own restaurant/bar. You are turning into a New Orleans….which is not a good thing😢 I thought Nashville was classy NOT TRASHY!!!!

Music is fantastic...the rest is terrible.
The city apparently thinks very highly of itself. The hotel prices downtown, the food and liquor prices at the venues rival those of NYC. Don't come here expecting to pay anything but ridiculous prices for EVERYTHING...16oz bud light can $8/$10..mixed drink $12/$17..had pizza at Luigis downtown, an average pizzeria, $27.50 for a LG Pepperoni pizza?!?
Now let's talk about the wonderful homeless experience. They are everywhere, including pissing against walls of bars and covering the sidewalk in urine. Apparently Nashville thinks people will just keep coming back for the music...there is live music all over this country without having to get screwed by greedy bar/restaurant owners and a city that thinks homeless people pissing on the sidewalk is normal. I won't be back.

We enjoyed our stay in Nashville but walking around the city was not pleasant. Lots of construction going on making it difficult at times to get around. More homeless people than I expected. Down by the River and in the parks.

I’m not much of a country music fan but had a blast with a group of friends visiting Nashville. If you enjoy some mild debauchery involving alcohol and watching live music, Broadway is the place to be. In just 4 blocks, there are at least 30 bars pumping out live music beginning in the early afternoon and deep into the night. No covers so you can duck in and out of several places and check out the atmosphere and music in each one. Every night is busy on Broadway but weekends are the most packed. This is not a place for families with young children especially at night.

The city really needs to clean up the homeless on the downtown streets. This is a drinking and music area with a sprinkle of food and tourist shops. Expect to pay about $7 for average beers.

Fly Away Parking
Nana, a retired elderly school teacher, was left in the freezing night air, at Nashville airport, after a long day of travel, and her prepaid ride from Fly Away Parking did not show up and would not answer numerous phone calls for help. Ticket: #848935

Wow! We were here in September of 2020 and this was a great experience. All the country and honky tonk music you can handle.

Long time visitor of Nashville Broadway scene. It has become nothing more than a tourist trap!!! Not saying you can’t have fun, but just know what you are going into!!! big commercial owners own all the bars except a very few. Liquor is so watered down, taxes are like 38 percent if you drink on Broadway!! The bars are a complete rip off. One night is more than enough wallet wise!!! It’s all about taking your money. There is a reasons they call it Nashvegas. Much better venues outside of downtown area. I go every once in awhile, but just know what you are getting into. I have been in and off Broadway since 1991, it’s not the same, locals laugh at all the tourist who get suck d into the Broadway hype, and I agree.

The excitement of being on Broadway was a wonderful experience. Lots of different types of music to listen too.

I absolutely loved downtown Nashville and enjoyed the live music and people that I met along the way!

Music, music, music...loved it all and a great time was had by all. Ole Red was very professional and Taryn Papa was great. She definitely knows how to entertain.
Crowded but exciting. Polite people

We had a great time listening to the music and going in and out of businesses. It was crowded but still had fun!!!! NHL draft was in town which made it even more exciting!!!

Party city. Lot’s of great bands. Everyone seems happy. Some homeless but basically they are just enjoying the music and people

Extremely loud, completely packed and dirty. If you like trash - this is absolutely the place for you.

Went with family to Nashville. plenty of restaurant and bar for anyone looking to drink and eat, lot of the bar has live music foe enjoyment. although it was very cold when we went, you definitely need to have a car to travel to other areas.

Downtown Nashville never disappoints! It's always lively with music and fun. But bring your wallet drinks are expensive

Wow, have not been to Nashville since 2007 and while I remembered much of it, so much has changed. We got to Nashville on Saturday and spent Saturday night downtown. It was pure crazy town with party buses, drinking tours and too many bachelorette parties to count. So loud and crazy, that we opted for Printers Ally to hear some blues in a tamed atmosphere. (Not much tamer).
It was a great experience from the crowds to the food and music. We were lucky and happened upon Tootsies 60th anniversary celebration which shut down Broadway. Free concert on Broadway with Montgomery Gentry, Jelly Roll, Jon Pardi, Colt Ford and others.
My only issue was lack of mask wearing in such a tight crowd.

Just as the others have said…. Dirty, homeless everywhere, nasty, and as an added bonus it’s expensive. Ordered two drinks and I think my jaw hit the ground when the bar tender said it was $26, they were small cups and nothing special. Will never return. Only positive was the music was good. Looks like local government isn’t doing their jobs.

Dirty, parking is terrible and way to expensive for all the trouble. Broadway is just a group of drunk people that look lost.

In the past 10 years we've been there 5 times, I'm talking Broadway Ave. It used to be a great place for live country music, a lot of bars and some great bands. This June was our last visit due to the fact most live bands rather play VERY LOUD ROCK N ROLL and theres a minimum of 10 dollars for a request! Really? Kinda like vulchers on the bandstand just wanting your hard earned money. In short its lost its appeal as the HOME OF COUNTRY MUSIC. PS. Last night before we left we could hear a hand demanding 100.00 to play AC/DC

The main street, which has the Hard Rock Cafe, in the center.
It's all there. The classic “Honky Tonk” bars, good restaurants like the Olé Red and museums.
These bars are my passion, as Country music lover, has great artists all day playing for free, almost 24 hs.
The WILD HORSE SALOON is nearby and worth a visit.
But one of my favorite things is to visit the restaurants and bars near Vanderbuilt University. That's a tip of who lived there. Who knows well.
It has the most sophisticated and charming places near the Vanderbuilt. You can googled it.
Besides, everybody thinks, by being the Country Music Capital, that Nashville only has Country. There it is like New York, has the best boats for ALL music tastes and audiences.
Just look.
🥰

The hotel was very nice, clean and great to have a restaurant and bar inside. We stayed only one night passing through so didn’t use all the amenities. It’s near the interstate so some traffic noise of course but didn’t keep us from having a good nights rest.
The 10 star part of this review is for the staff - amazing all throughout from the man who greeted us at the door to the cleaning staff. And Or3tha! Special thank you to you! She was so patient and helpful when it turned out something went wrong (not by them) and we didn’t have a reservation after all. When she learned our 17 year old pup had been sick, she was on it! Searching for something gentle on the tummy, she managed a special chicken treat for her. Jilly was happy at last and also enjoyed her stay.
By the way dog lovers, they really do welcome your pets and charge a reasonable fee of $25.
Thanks!!!

Fun place, very busy. Always a good time and a great place to catch a show. You will always find something to do.

We had a great time walking around downtown. We even got lucky and got to see Montgomery Gentry and Teri Clark for free. It was a great weekend in Nashville.

Shaun was great drove us in the golf cart to Broadway great guy always reliable!! Rooms are great size, staff are friendly!! Would come back again.

Downtown Nashville is a blast. So much to see and do. Bars, Shops and Museums. The only bad thing it seems to get dirtier every time we visit. Always had the broken bottles, but this visit had more full dumpster and trash in most of alleys/entry ways. Took short walks in the morning and never saw any cleanup crews. And Scooters laying all over on the side streets.

If you're not here for a great party, don't bother. With bar after bar having live music, plenty of options to enjoy and let loose. Yes it's loud, crowded and a bit trashy, but it's the polar opposite of COVID lockdown. It's cleaner than Bourbon Street, but more expensive, colder and narrower music variety.

This was out first visit to Nashville but it won’t be our last. We stayed at the Gaylord resort and enjoyed it so much that we plan to return with our kids and grandkids. We didn’t rent a car but had no trouble at all using Uber or taxis for the airport and trips downtown.
We were only there for a long weekend so we took a trolley tour of the city on our first day to see what we would otherwise miss. We then stayed on lower Broadway and visited various bars for music and drinks. We especially enjoyed Tootsie’s, Dierks Bentley’s Whiskey Row, and Luke Bryan’s 32 Bridge. We stopped by The Highway’s Music Row Happy Hour at Margaritaville too.
We bought tickets in advance for the Saturday night show at the Grand Ole Opry (which is a walk or shuttle ride from the Gaylord) and enjoyed both the show and the tour afterwards. We spent Sunday afternoon touring the Country Music Hall of Fame and the add-on visit to RCA Studio B.
This is a corrected version of my original review.

We went twice! First time we drove so we couldn’t really drink. Parking on 4th street was $30 for the 5 hrs we were there. Second time we took a Lyft. We were able to stay later and enjoy the area much more. Tons of rooftop bars. We chose the less crowded ones. They were just as good. So much to see.

Broadway Street is pretty much a hell hole of homelessness ,beggars, and scammers. People digging through the trash to eat...pooping ,vomiting, peeing in the street... pretty sad. With that being said, and you can overlook it, you can have a pretty good time partying and listening to live music . Drinks are around $15 per, which is fine. You can find several good places to eat also. Whatever you do,do not take kids. Overall, we had fun but wouldn't go back

Broadway Street is alive all day long. I came during the day. It was packed in the day, and at night, it was even busier. I preferred the night vibe because of the city lights and traditional buildings—many different bars and restaurants. My favourite was the rooftop terraces.

You will love your visit to Broadway, no matter what your age! You will learn quickly which venues cater to the crowd you are suited for... we loved the off Broadway venues in 3rd St. like FGL bar, Luigis, and the Johnny Cash restaurant.

Probably the dirtiest city Iv been to, and I live near Philadelphia… There were homeless people everywhere. Homeless people poop on the sidewalks. Garbage everywhere, smelled like sewage, the streets are filthy and the bars are covered in grime. Trash cans were oozing liquid out the bottom and there was vomit and pee and filth everywhere. I was expecting this big, fun place with lots to do but it really isn’t that. Like anything you have in your head as a picture, it’s just not that. The gulch and germantown were very nice, but all there is to do there is eat or shop. It’s just not at all what I was expecting and I don’t get why people love it, the only way to love it is to be drunk on a bachelorette weekend. There’s not much else to do. You also need to be half naked and 22 years old to have the most fun. And everyone plays the same cover songs over and over. So it’s not like you’re hearing amazing music all day, it’s just people with nice voices playing all the same songs. Most of the people all sounded the same as I’d hear anywhere else. Last thing that bothered me was the lack of taking advantage of the river. They have a river flowing through the city and they literally ignore it as if it wasn’t there. Like no waterfront anything? They could have such cool stuff on the river but there’s nothing??
I’d take a beach vacation over Nashville any day.

Much dirtier and run down than I was expecting. Homeless people everywhere and was followed by a few.. wasn’t comfortable being with a group of females

Enjoyed our stay at the Drury!! At first take the rooms seem expensive, but once you factor a free breakfast, 3 free drink tickets, and an evening meal that a person would purchase daily the price is very fair. Plus, the location is ideal. Another positive is the security the hotel has. It’s just a great place to stay!!

Amazing. Exceptional bands playing in all bars on Broadway. Highly recommended although drink prices are high.
Our favourite was Legends.

I agree with the other honest reviews of the downtown (Broadway) strip and immediate surrounding areas.
Beer is about $10 mixed drinks $13 give or take a few bucks.
The music is amazing, the bars are fun, and the food hits the spot…with that being said I would also like to talk about the giant elephant in the room!
Last year there was a very large contingent of homeless/beggars/panhandlers or whatever one wants to call it, but since that was during the Grand Prix there was an equal amount of yellow shirt security type police on bicycles keeping them away from the crowds of tourists.
I just returned from there yesterday and this time there were far less of these yellow shirt folks and a much greater presence of the non-tourist beggar types.
For the most part there was no issues, but in some cases these people were aggressive, in your face and while we were standing on the sidewalk minding our business listening to a band , one dude started to yell at me and when we were walking away he started to follow (not chase) us as we walked away yelling the whole time. Another asked for money we said no and she said something rude, another guy was very agitated and was screaming and flailing his arms about yelling at the sky and ground.
This very much detracted from the experience for us, I don’t need to be watching over my shoulder for this nonsense, I come here to relax and have fun!
Just a word of advice to the city leadership, Nashville better get a handle on this, if you don’t, I feel it will start to effect tourism.
Lastly I’m with the other reviewer, this IS NOT a good place for children!

I know it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it! We walked around on our arrival night on a Saturday evening, and it was hopping. We had our 12-year-old with us, so we just walked around and glanced at various music acts in all the clubs. Most had the door and/or windows open. People are having a good time, but we were there after dark and never felt unsafe. We left before 10:00 p.m., though. There was a police presence, and the main area was blocked off to traffic.
The next morning, we went to look at shops before our reservation at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. There was still a lot of music! We walked over the bridge. We also had a drink in one place before our reservation--kids are welcome inside up until late afternoon at a lot of places. That evening, we had some bbq for an early dinner while watching some live music.
Yes, it's summer and warm. It can also smell bad, and there are some things around just like in any downtown of bigger cities. Just use common sense and be aware of your surroundings.

Every place has great live country music. The bartenders pour honest drinks, and the ambiance is terrific.

Disappointed terribly. Nothing but trashy loud partying and drinking busses and bars. Not country music, rap. Home less beggars lying around everywhere. Drunks vomiting in the fountain or just the road. Prices for the museums are too expensive. Not at all enjoyable for decent non drinkers to visit.

Whether it is day or night, this place is special. Full of activities during the night time and is very enjoyable.

A place full of businesses and fabulous restaurants. There are many alternatives to spend a wonderful night, a lot of music, a lot of noise and a lot of security.

Everything was walking distance, within .5 miles, many attractions, good restaurants, enjoyed music on Broadway. We stayed at JW Marriott, great sun rise (room) and sunset (near elevator on 34 th floor) views

Good place to visit. Be warned, the interstate system is a total joke and about 40 years out of date. The I-65/24 stretch where the two highways are together for about two miles was literally built the exact opposite way of what would have been optimal. Out-of-staters you WILL struggle to drive here (im talking to you, Florida and Kentucky people) A ton of big and small places to eat. It's a good culture mix between the modern genz/millenial and the laid back traditional tennesseean culture.

Too short. We only spent one evening on this street with its pubs and excellent musical groups that take turns. You can enter without even consuming listening to very good music. Very clean street, happy atmosphere where you feel safe. Work was underway on certain buildings to give them their former character. It's the most beautiful musical street we did on our tour compared to Beale Street and New Orleans. Plus numerous souvenir shops with beautiful cowboy boots for fans. Fabulous atmosphere, nothing but happiness

It is a nice experience to walk up and down Broadway street and listen to all the live bands at the bars and restaurants. No cover charges.
Drinks are slightly pricey, but you are getting entertainment. Bands are all day which is great for those who want daytime or earlier evening experience. Bands all switch at 10 pm from early shift to late shift so keep in mind nothing is playing from10pm for about 45 minutes.
Cheapest parking is at Library parking garage which maxes out at $20/day.

It’s all it’s cracked up to be! Live music everywhere and a mile strip of bars and restaurants on both sides of Broadway. Sidewalks can be very crowded! BEWARE, parking is a nightmare trying to figure out how to pay for a parking place in an unattended lot. You think your paying for a spot, but read the signs carefully, as you might be paying for a spot adjacent to where you think. You WILL get towed if you’re incorrect. WHAT A SCAM!!!!!

I have to say this is absolutely the nastiest town I have ever been in. Just flat out dirty streets, it is like they don’t have a street department. And the smell is horrible. Homeless is a bad issue.

There are various types of music playing most of the day from the various bars. A great place if you love music, you don't mind very loud music, and you like to drink. So many party buses. You will also so dozen of homeless people. Being from the NYC area I was not bothered by the crowds or homeless people. But if you are from a less populated area of the country you might be bothered. There was a strong police presence so I never felt unsafe.
This is a party town. Not a place to go for a family vacation unless you are there to see the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Heard so many good things about downtown Nashville how lively, fun and beautiful it all is, the wide array of talent in live bands/entertainment but there seems to have been some details left out…the first thing to hit me in the face when I stepped downtown was the smell of literal human feces and urine. The streets were covered in feces, urine, vomit, used condoms, needles and miscellaneous trash it was disgusting. The streets are littered with homeless people begging for drugs (not even money just straight up begging for drugs) fortunately it doesn’t get worse once you step inside any establishment downtown but unfortunately it didn’t get any better. Every single form of live entertainment in this city is literally just cover bands playing the same 10 “country” songs. But if Bars aren’t your scene you’re in luck because you can travel next door to the bar or head across the street to the bar and if all that isn’t your scene you can head down to the nearest bar…the bars are overpriced, grimey and overcapacity, the health inspector even popped into one because they were supposedly not up to code and by the way the food made me feel that didn’t come as a surprise. downtown Nashville is a overrated and dirty experience one that I wouldn’t recommend in a million years.

Not to great of an experience with 2 young ones. More bars then anything else and most of the shops are closed down. Seen a big dead rat and alot of the stores smelt of raw sewage. I think it's best to come here if you want to get intoxicated on expensive booze without anything truly picture worthy. We left and took the extra 8 hours to Panama City Beach

When we finally got to Broadway St. to experience some of the famous bars we had heard so much about, at least 3 of the 5 we wanted to go to were closed for private parties. When we asked one about the next day, we were told they were booked with private parties for the next few days. EXTREMELY DISSAPOINTING. We did go to some places and they were nice, but not the ones we wanted to.
Surely you can find a locale that treats tourists MUCH better than this.

We were visiting for spring break. We have teens. Knew they couldnt get into many places to listen to lice music that kinda sucked but did find a couple places to hang out. Great people watching and really appreciate the venues and opportunities for musicians. Clean downtown too with lots of dining and hotels options.

Downtown Nadhvikke offers something for everyone. Great tests and entertainment venues. History is alive here. The river offers opportunities. You can stroll for hours and enjoy the uni city. Stop and enjoy the music culture. Great food!

Would have enjoyed more shopping and not so very many bars. Even bars going down the streets. Not very enjoyable with older adults and teens. Noise overload. (Especially on the weekends).

I was there Easter weekend , let me tell you it’s a different atmosphere, live music everywhere. Bar hopping for sure BUT I didn’t feel safe and trash everywhere. Homeless ppl Every corner , like New York City but more 🫠. It’s a shame , lovely city

Pretty cool place to drive around. Parking is free on Sundays, but be prepared to fork it over to the City during the week and on Saturdays.

We had a great time walking from bar to bar seeing the different places and listening to fantastic music. Drinks and food are very expensive. No drink specials or happy hours. Staff was generally very friendly even if we weren't ordering much. I would not bring kids after 8 pm.

Gotta go to Broadway! Live music all day everyday...and not just country music for those that are not country fans. All bars/restaurants are walking distance from one another. Our favorites were Kid Rocks, Rippys and the Stage upstairs

Downtown Nashville used to be the place to go. It's gotten out of hand. There is good police presence on the weekend, but things have gotten out of hand. It smells bad, lots of homeless people everywhere you go. Drugs, panhandlers, you name it. DO NOT VENTURE OFF THE BEATEN PATH, YOU MIGHT BE SORRY! It's a shame that Nashville promotes Broadway, as it's the only thing in town, Nashville is SO much more.

Would leave zero stars if I could. This place is never quiet - the streets are crowded and there are competing bands playing all the time. It would be fine if they were inside the restaurant/bar whatever but no, they're on the roof so everyone can hear them. Would not visit downtown Nashville again by choice.

Beautiful and very clean downtown area to walk around. Plenty of benches and public areas to sit and relax.

Nashville... the no-brand version of Las Vegas meets Mardi Gras. Leave the kids at home and bring your cowboy boots! Not because it's the fashion, but because you will need them to keep the waste, filth and decay, not to mention the human urine, off your feet. Long gone are the days of authentic Country Music. Now it's just a full volume, shoulder to shoulder sweaty drink-fest/shout-fest all wrapped up into one obnoxious no-rules no-capacity-limit display of human race gone bad, in run down bars (I won't even dignify them by calling them Honky Tonks). Where country music stars license their names and identities to make you think you are actually at an establishment they own (they will never step one foot onto Broadway... lol). Country music, forget it! No aspiring artists, no original music. Just Rock-N-Roll cover bands where the music blends together from door to door. My wife summed it up best... "this is what hell must be like". We didn't "check" it off the bucket list, we scratched it off. Vowing to never return. I felt sorry for the family types who plotted their family vacation destination to Nashville. It's a money grab at it's finest where you will pay in excess of 20% tax per drink for the By-The-Drink-Tax on Broadway just to pay for the private police force who's only goal is to suppress any ruckus, maintain the homeless, keep the crowds moving, the music blaring and the money flowing from your wallet to their bank accounts. Lesson learned... I'll stick to the Mountain Towns out west for a real cowboy experience, or the beaches and Tiki-bars for good drink and good company. Spare me the so-called Country Music capital. If Johnny Cash were alive, he would take a flamethrower to that town!

Love the pool at this hotel and the bar area, so fun! Thoroughly enjoyed Kim, one of the coolest bartenders we had. She made the stay so enjoyable with her infectious personality, always remembered our drink choice and gave us lots of suggestions for things nearby to see and do. Such a relaxing setting, felt like Jimmy Buffet was there! She made our Nashville stay most enjoyable and can't wait to go back to Margaritaville!

Wild, crazy place.. Very colorful and full of energy. Still seems authentic. A must experience for country fans.

Great music everywhere you turn. Lots of shops and bars galore. There were walking tours, bus tours, carriage tours, segue tours, bike tours....plenty of options to check it out. The bridge was fun too.

Celebrated 5 birthdays from 50-59! Great place and got to catch a few stars due to the CMAs!!! Broadway never disappoints - it’s a must see but don’t be afraid to walk a few blocks off the main drag there are some gems

Far too many people for the number of clubs on a Saturday night. The place is overrun by twenty-something scantily-clad squealy brazen females. Where are all the men?
The crowds and the long lines to get into the clubs were discouraging and the noise level was deafening. Not worth it. Go to New Orleans instead. Was just a relief to get
away from the maddening crowds and the hopelessly crowded bars and honky Tonks and back to the hotel.

This is the Bourbon Street/Duvall Street of Nashville. If you want to hear great live music, bar hop and mingle with the people, this is where to do it. Most places open at 11 and start to get busy around dinner time. There is always fun to be had and friends to be made here.

Always have a great time downtown Nashville. Great food and drinks can be found on every corner. Remember to tip the bands and your favorite bartenders. Literally something for everyone.

The strip had to be visited late afternoon, tea time into the night. Very busy busy busy, every bar has a window with bands, groups, solo singers, music coming out of establishments left right and centre. Some more famous Honky Tonk bars you are expected to queue and pay on entry (obviously) but still can lead to an expensive evening if you have not budgeted for this because once you get in the groove there’s no stopping you. Not very impressed with some musicians suggesting a minimum TIP of 20dollars, for a request or put in my tip bucket please, it will go a long way? Every bar has a band and they ALL have a tip bucket…just saying…be prepared, if you’ve been out all day/night on a “session” you get caught up in the moment and that could turn out to e a very expensive visit to the STRIP, welcome to Nashville!!

My sister and I visited Nashville, TN in July 2025 for the Coldplay concert. We visited Broadway a few times during our brief stay in the city. Anyone under the age of 21 is allowed in any restaurant or bar until 6 pm. We enjoyed walking on Broadway after 9 pm one evening and then during the early morning hours the next day to visit the gift shops and to eat at Robert’s Western World for lunch, which was very good. We went into Tootsie’s to enjoy the view from their rooftop. We enjoyed walking through several stores, gift shops, hearing live music literally all day, and people watching!

I fully understand the term "NashVegas" now! It's the closest thing I've seen to Vegas just without the gambling. Very fun atmosphere if you can ignore the drunks and panhandlers. Great music in every restaurant and bar. I loved the rooftop bars.

Broadway is admittedly not my scene. Lots of loud bars and crowds of people and lots of traffic. None of the places are that memorable. Amazing how many drunk bachelorette or girl birthday parties were going on - so many loud and obnoxious women all over. If you like the strip or Bourbon Street you’ll like it here. It’s just way too much for me.

Broadway is the place to be!! Go to Miranda Lamberts 3 story honky tonk and you'll have a blast! We had so much fun being there and dancing!

We were there for a conference but have never been before so we extended a few days.
It's just my wife and I but there is really only so much one can take of $15 drinks (don't forget that 20% tax on booze) and expensive food. Split a main for lunch with a drink each will set you back $50 min. Dinner, $100 no problem.
Broadway gets slammed and a lot of people appear to have just learned about drinking. Homeless are around. I didn't think it was terrible, but we are near Detroit/Ann Arbor, so your experience may vary.
Overall we were glad we checked it off the bucket list, but don't plan to go back

What an experience downtown Nashville is... Wall to wall people walking up and down the streets.Music coming out of every bar. Tons of brides to be, must be the pre wedding city.

It was fun to see everyone having so much fun on this street on a Saturday. The entertainment is top notch. Every bar had open windows, open bars and lots of people. The talent in this town is astounding. I heard amazing music everywhere I went.

Nashville is a great town to visit or live near. There are so many restaurants to dine at and each one is unique. When you think you've seen it all, the town and offerings say think again. The hospitality is wonderful and you will feel welcome in the city.

IF YOU HAVE TIME, DO NOT MISS NASHVILLE, WE WERE AMAZED AND FASCINATED BY IT, A CITY THAT LIVES AND BREATHES MUSIC, ITS BARS, ITS PEOPLE, A PLACE THAT AMAZEES WITH ITS VIBE, THE WOMEN WITH TYPICAL BOOTS AND HATS, THE BARS WITH LIVE MUSIC ALL THE TIME, ITS CONTRASTS OF BOHEMIAN PLACES AND SUPER MODERN MONUMENTAL SKYSCRAPERS, THE MAJESTIC BRIDGESTONE ARENA, WE WENT TO SEE BOCA JUNIORS, WE WERE THERE FOR 2 DAYS AND WE SUPER ENJOYED IT, I WOULD RETURN WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Whether you're in Nashville for business or pleasure, you must take a ride, or a few down Broadway. My coworker had never been to Nashville and she was in awe. It's always a fun experience to see the bars, listen to the music and people watch, especially at night.

Lovely city atmosphere with great options to dine & shop with walking distance from capitol & bridge. Live music all around.

We had a blast being in the throngs of people who were smiling, dancing, singing and having just as much of a good time as we were. What was also great was that it was people of all ages having a great time. From people in their 20s to people who look like they were in their 80s. I see why it's such a popular place. We did everything from dancing in the live music venues to shopping to seeing a play. Tons of restaurants and snack joints. We didn't have a bad meal at any of the places we visited.

As much as it is exciting on lower Broadway with all the country music stars bars, it was insanely busy, very dirty, smelled like puke, urine, marijuana, and was very run down. Not to mention it was ridiculously expensive to eat and drink. Lots of live music though and no cover charges for the bars. The afternoon was so much more enjoyable than the evening and night.

My boyfriend and I drove 7 hours to come here from the suburbs of Chicago. Always heard good things about Nashville, so we decided to go. We are staying at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Room is expensive but we thought it would be worth it since it is close to everything and it has a pool and hot tub like we wanted. We get here and find out it's 43 dollars a night to park your vehicle in the parking garage. Whatever that's fine...just would have been nice to know ahead of time. We decided to go to the hot tub the first night and come to find out it's freezing and it's being "repaired". We went to Broadway and visited a couple bars. Music was so loud. Couldn't even have a conversation without screaming. Drinks way overpriced. There are homeless people/bums everywhere asking for money and acting "cracked out" on drugs. The city reeks like the smell of urine. We didn't feel safe walking the streets as the sun was going down. I hardly seen any police patroling. Pros so far of this trip is the Country Music Hall of Fame and Ole Smoky Distillery. Martin's Bar-B-Que Joint and Party Fowl had really good food. We also went to a place called Merchants for lunch. That place was terrible. Bad service and food was awful. Also when we were walking back from Ole Smoky Distillery a transformer blew up on the power line and sparks went everywhere! I thought it was a firework. The street lights on that street blew out. It was so loud it sounded like an M-80 went off in our ears! We're lucky we weren't directly under it or we could have been seriously injured or killed. This place is a nightmare. I will never come back!!! We have one more day and night here. We're going to check out some bike paths and The Parthenon tomorrow and make the best of what is left of our "vacation". I'm done going to the city. I have seen enough. I can't wait to go home. I will NOT be recommending any of my friends/family or anyone to visit this place.

Had a fun few days in Nashville. This is a great destination. Such a friendly vibe. Lots of batchelor/batchelorette parties all good vibes. Locals are just so nice and engaging. The city feels young. So much construction. 100 people a day move here, so Stretch, our trolley bus tour guide told us.
Recommendations - Country Music Hall of Fame, Trolley Bus Tour, Ryman Auditorium, The Valentine Bar, The Diner, Palm Restaurant.
Just walk around and take in the vibe of Downtown.
We will be back

An interesting city day and night, with different atmospheres in different neighborhoods and beautiful buildings.

So many bars with live entertainment to choose from. Fridays and Saturdays are even more crazy because of all the stag and hen parties.

We were in town for a week and came downtown 3 times and enjoyed our visit each time. This place was very busy both day and night with lots of music, food, and drinks. So many bars and so much to see. Great people watching too! We visited on a Friday night and they even close down the street to traffic in order to accommodate the crowd. Lots of security around as well. A must do at least once in Nashville!

1st: server was great, place was clean. Yay. Grilled fish were grilled … when? That was possibly the saddest fish taco I’ve had ever. The Greek salad had 1.5 olives in it and I don’t know how old the feta was. Just … meh. Or possibly “ew”.

Seemed like a gulf coast spring break party city, but the partiers were in their 50s and 60s.
The strip area is filthy, I had to walk over (what I hope was) dog feces many times. Many many panhandlers. All of the music in the bars is the same, and it isn't independent country, like you would expect from reputation, it's mostly cover bands of muscle car rock. There's a Kid Rock Honkey Tonk, that should be the emblem for the new Nashville. So if you like that, great! If you come expecting to hear some new soulful earnest country star, look elsewhere.

We stopped here on our way to Gatlinburg & I’m sure glad we did! Lots of shops, restaurants & cool music history here!I want to definitely go back to spend a few days in the area!

Ate at Jason Aldean’s restaurant and bar. The drinks were great but the food was very disappointing. Very dry, not seasoned, and cold.

Nashville, after Memphis and New Orleans a new city with a bustling street. Arrived on Monday from Austin and on Wednesday evening back via Atlanta to the Netherlands. airport is less than 20 min from downtown nashville, holiday inn downtown was unfortunately not downtown but uber is the magic word and solution. Straight to broadway, live music everywhere and looks a lot like Memphis only with country music. Honestly after half a day we had something like this is all. Did tour with E’s bronco tour and Ed is former bouncer who shows you the city differently and opens your eyes right away that Broadway is not Nashville. Opry house tour must do just like hall of fame country. Tennessee museum also really worth it. Ice hockey done (very cold inside) and still remains great.

Certainly a must see on any Nashville trip, especially the Broadway area. Easily walkable with many attractions in only a few blocks…

I've been to a lot of areas with live music, including New Orleans, but Honky Tonk Highway really blew me away. Around 25 bars up and down Broadway, each with one to three floors of live music. About 40 bands playing simultaneously throughout the day and night. Country, rock, classics...you name it, it's there (although I didn't find any jazz). No cover either, so you can hop in and out of any venue until you find the one playing what you like.
There is an amazing vibe to the downtown area that is pretty cool. Mostly centered around music and the country legends, but it's a fun place for everyone. Plus, you can blow a bunch of cash and buy some real cowboy (or cowgirl) boots and clothing.

Loved the bars, the music and having the ability to go from country to hard rock. Never a dull moment in Nashville and the nicest people.

Great trip to Nashville. Stayed at Margaritaville- great location, easy walk to the Broadway and all the fun places to explore.

An interesting place but not what I expected. Music tends more towards pop/rock etc and not so much country. Fellow tourists were somewhat rude and we were there during the daytime, I would imagine it gets worse after dark. Also the amount of construction in the area makes walking around an eyesore.

If you enjoy being in a drug infested homeless camp then I guess Nashville will work for you, otherwise I suggest against going downtown Nashville. The place smells like feces. The eateries are overpriced crap who charge extra fees and taxes just for being downtown. The venue's are ground zero for beggars. The people who come to the city are a bunch of a-holes. And, parking and traffic is a disaster. Nashville is a dump. There are far better places to spend your time and money in than this drug infested drop zone. It would thrill me to no end to never have to be there again!
Human beings are horrible and this is on significant display when downtown Nashville. And the authorities will not do anything to fix the myriad of problems that exist in this slum of land. If you are in search of a good time with good people then you will NOT find it in Nashville. So good luck if you decide to enter into that cesspool of crap!

We were there on a weekday at 4 pm and it was so crowded that you could hardly move. Even at that time people had to wait to get into a bar to listen to music. We went with the family so we didn't go into any of the bars. It was stinky and dirty. If you are in your twenties and just want to go out drinking it is fine but I don't think it would appeal to anyone else.

A Great Way to get a sense of the City to see what interest you most. Loved it and would do it again. The Drivers are well acquainted with the History and areas of Interest.

Great time with wife. loved ever minute of it great scenery little crowded but hey they don't call it bar hopping for nothing

What an experience! It was crazy ! I recommend hitting a few bars then finding a seat that has a view of the street. Enjoy your drinks and be entertained by a variety of music and watch the craziness in comfort. There are many panhandlers, homeless in front of the establishments.

Want to back and never leave. the vibes were immaculate. I can’t compare any city to this one. I had a blast during the day, evening and night. great food. luigi’s pizza, the stage, the tractor ride, our vrbo, and ubers were amazing.

Downtown Music City is an interesting place, a great place for live music, dive bars, greasy food, line dancing and more. You should try it at least once. Don’t forget to checkout some of the side streets.

Been a big Country music fan for years. After spending an entire day walking thru downtown and visiting over 20 restaurants, bars and Honky-Tonks I was highly disappointed that country music is no longer in Nashville. Hip hop and cross over music is all that is left. A great loss to this once proud city.
Not what I expected
Was so excited to come down to the streets of Nashville. It was hard to find parking and our truck pretty long to get in some of the garages.
So we drove up and down the Broadway listening to the music, smelling all the food and taking pictures.
Should have planned our trip better.
