Crossing Brooklyn bridge

By lydiar770 |

Once you walk or drive through the bridge you come across this beautiful area with a big park, places to eat and take pictures. You are by the water and you can take a ferry back to Manhattan but you have to pay a fare. It’s a wonderful place to relax and spend time with friends or family.

DUMBO MEANS: DOWN UNDER THE MANHATTAN BRIDGE OVERPASS

By Noemi B |

From this place we have some great images of the Brooklyn Bridge and the two riverside facades. Walking access to it is located on Prospect and Washington streets. Visiting DUMBO, where we had lunch, the Time Out Market stands out, a huge brick building, which was the site of port warehouses in the area; Grains, wool, and coffee were stored here. After its decline, the Time Out company turned it into a first-class gastronomic market. It is a pleasure to explore this neighborhood.

Dumbo

By Nico Salado |

Update: May ‘23 - a fair amount of people if going early in the morning. A beautiful view if the skies are clear. Parking is first come, first serve.

Fair tourist spot due to its instagrammable area. A lot of tourist at the weekend. Looks nice on the picture but has a lot of trash. Restaurant and food stalls on the area.

Great views and Trendy

By FarAway821486 |

Made the trip on our last day in New York. Great photo opportunity on Washington Street of the Brooklyn Bridge and Empire State building, lots of trendy shops and restaurants in the neighborhood, and a pleasant walk along the river featuring decent views of Manhattan. Was a short train ride from Manhattan and only takes half a day of sightseeing (including line ups for good pizza).

Fabulous Photo Opportunity

By Jade M |

We came here after hearing about the amazing photos you can take of Manhattan Bridge through some buildings on a street. This area was crowded with people trying to take photos and cars just trying to get through the street and crowds! Loved seeing Manhattan Bridge in Dumbo and took some gorgeous photos.

By socalukgirl |

We took great pictures under the bridge at this spot. A definite spot if you can visit. We went about 10 am not too many people but getting busy

Instagram spot not to be missed!

By M&S |

Must see! Must snap! Dumbo is just cool! Not to be missed, every time we visit NY, we come here and take the same exact picture! It's just to remember that day we got married in New York, took the subway, and came to Dumbo to take this pic on a sunny day. The street was packed but we managed to have a good one and put it in our bedroom.

Not to be missed

By Luca R |

Beautiful walk in this neighborhood full of photographic views of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge (very famous and seen in some movies). Many shops also of artists. On the banks of the river you will also find the famous Time Out Market (similar to Chelsea Market).

No, Not That Dumbo

By David S |

We spent a fun afternoon in DUMBO. No, it has nothing to do with the famed Disney character. It’s the area “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”, or DUMBO. It’s on the Brooklyn side of the Manhattan Bridge. (It’s actually in a wedge between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge.) If you’re staying in Manhattan, take the ferry from 34th Street (I think) across the East River to the DUMBO drop off in Brooklyn. Or, if you want some exercise, walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. We took the ferry from Queens to DUMBO. It was rather long ferry ride, but it was a beautiful day to be on the water.

DUMBO is a major urban redevelopment area. Old warehouses and mercantile buildings converted into collective space for restaurants/shopping/exhibits. The food epicenter is the Time Out Market in the Empire Stores building. Too many restaurants to list, but if you can’t find something you want to eat here, then you may be dead. There is also a nice park area for the kids/grand-kids. Featured attraction is Jane’s Carousel, a big, classic carousel with a history dating back to the early 1920’s. Also, a good sized playground.

Lush views

By RealDS |

This area has a few clothing stores and is also the location of Dumbo House who is apart of the Soho House company. Two of my colleagues have membership with Soho House so we were able to go in as guests. To add, the food was incredible. They don’t allow people to take pics inside unfortunately but in the terrace we were able to get a shot with Brooklyn Bridge in the background.its literally a five minute walk from Brooklyn Heights where multiple celebs are known to reside.

Industrial Charm converted...

By OscarAbella |

Dumbo is a neighborhood with an industrial and artistic charm. Its galleries, cafes and river views make it a picturesque place to explore.

Super nice neighborhood

By anne christele l |

Super nice neighborhood with a view of Manhattan Bridge worthy of the film Once Upon a Time in America.. superb buildings, a relaxed and nice atmosphere for a little shopping.. from this neighborhood, you can take the Brooklyn Bridge to finish your market to Manhattan

Great views

By Stefanie H |

Although there are a lot of tourists taking photos of the Brooklyn Bridge, this is a much quieter place to be when you are tired of the bustle of Manhattan. The subway deposits you just a couple of blocks away from the river, and the views are spectacular.

Worth a relaxing visit in the evening

By GlyderFawr |

I was unsure about this, one of those up and coming areas purely because people say it's up and coming. That said, we had a great time in the end. A place to relax, have a drink, a walk. Iconic photo opportunity.

Iconic location

By tropnevad68 |

We had to visit DUMBO for the classic Manhattan bridge picture through the neighbourhood streets. Amazing views of both Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge but sadly we walked back along Manhattan rather than Brooklyn which would have been better

Surprised by Dumbo

By marive05 |

It's a great place to wandered by. There were a lot of brides and girls taking memorable pictures before their parties as the views from the bridges and Manhattan are amazing.
There are also shops and a carrousel.

cool little area

By tomasviska |

after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, end up in DUMBO. (down under Manhattan bridge overpass). cool shops and lots of great little places to eat. spent a little time, then headed over to Williamsburg to shop.

Beautiful

By anna0124 |

Great location to take iconic pictures of New York. Although I've visited the city many times, this was my first time in Dumbo. Love the cobblestone streets and beautiful views.

Awesome lunch spot over bridge

By Don B |

Was quite surprised with Dumbo area as well as the eatery in Brooklyn. I would recommend that you plan your walk over the Brooklyn Bridge to coincide with lunch at the Dumbo eatery.
It's like a very flash food hall or food court, but with much better food and a great atmosphere.
There are many places to choose from and some bars.
The rooftop area is very, very small, so be aware of that, however you can go outside and take photos, then go back down to the food hall on the ground floor and have lunch.

The surrounding river side park and walks are a good way to spend an hour also. Good styling on the neighbor hood houses, pleasant streets to walk down.

This area of Brooklyn has many up market shops and restaurants on the main street as well as the eatery and you should take some time to explore.

Awesome, fun area to walk around!

By preciousness22 |

We loved DUMBO. It's an up and coming beautiful area of Brooklyn that offers the very best view of the Manhattan skyline. Plenty of restaurants to eat at. If you plan to drive and park, parking can be challenging.

Worthy of a photo shoot

By Jazzgal67 |

When you see all the iconic shoots here, what you don’t see is how quaint and beautiful this neighborhood truly is. Lovely little piece of Brooklyn.

Family Holiday

By Dave L |

Wow what a change this place has become. Used to be a run down area but now there are lovely bars and restaurants and walkways. We walked over the bridge to it. Absolute lovely place to visit.

Don’t Miss Dumbo

By barbara s |

I am a long time Brooklyn Resident and every time I visit Dumbo there are new exciting stores, restaurants and events. Don’t miss Janes carousel or a walk under the Brooklyn Bridge

Epic Views

By Charlotte A Hall |

Stunning views of the Manhattan Bridge, nice neighborhood, get the subway from Manhattan to York Street Brooklyn for a short walk, to Dumbo.
It's also nice to take a walk down by the water, it's actually surprising how close together these bridges are.

An eye opener

By Ronnie g |

I had never been to dumbo and it was a pleasant surprise....the crowds were eclectic and the vibe was cool...young brides and grooms taking their wedding fotos along pebble beach or Witherspoon's the manhattan bridge in the backdrop

Thank you

By paradise03458097721 |

Amazing experience, nice tour with children and friends! It was cold but very romantic! People very friendly!

Interesting place

By Localeaterinarea |

Unfortunately it was an awful day weather wise when we went here. We looked around the flea market . There were some nice stalls. Not as many as usual I would imagine. I eould think this is a vibrant area when the weather is fine. Our bad luck.

Awesome Family visit

By M R |

We had a great time. Fresh air, exercise and fun. The area was clean and there were a lot of activities for all ages.

Great alternative to staying in Manhattan

By Ann P |

Stayed at a hotel in this area for 4th of July. The commute to Manhattan was easier by ferry than subway or car. There is plenty to see and do like the park, pier, restaurants all within walking distance. There’s a good variety of eating options -nothing spectacular but sometimes food is food. There was also a flea market and music under the Brooklyn Bridge. Lots of walking but not as crowded as Manhattan. Worth the visit

Nice Area

By runner24 |

There is so much to do in this area. Good restaurants, beautiful views along the river and when walking across the bridges. Parking can be a problem, but we drove into Dumbo early and found parking in a garage on Furman. $50 for 6 hours but it was a secure place and close to everything.

Leeds USA

By Katy R |

Dumbo is a really nice area to wander around after crossing Brooklyn bridge. Some great photo opportunities of manhattan bridge from Washington street and of the skyline from the waterfront. Theres a Carousel in a glass box for younger ones. Many old mills and buildings have been regenerated around there, it actually reminded me a bit of Leeds down by the armouries! Theres a great pizza place on Washington/Front street called Front street pizza, reasonably priced.

Must see if you're going to NC

By Beatriz R |

I hadn’t been in Brooklyn for a few years and it has pleasantly surprised me, parks, shops, streets... everything is like rehabilitated and very nice. Great views of both bridges and Manhattan

Totally Cool!

By Veri K |

Definitely worth a visit - especially if you want some of the best skyline views of the city! And if you take the ferry, you get the added bonus of being on the water - reminding you that Manhattan is an island!

Beautiful

By Kim Flynn |

Love this area, got the subway over and walked back the Brooklyn bridge. Loved the scenery and it’s a nice change from the hectic streets of Manhattan

Make the time and have breakfast here

By Peter S |

Glad we spent half a day at Dumbo. Some great photo spots especially if you walk down to pebble beach by the carousel. You can shoot a great picture of Brooklyn Bridge. There’s some great places to eat. Also some really nice interiors shops and places to have a wander around. Takes around 30 minutes to walk over Brooklyn bridge to DUMBO. Totally worth it

Relaxed New York - with everything you need

Under Bridge Vibes

By uzmelissa |

Do you want to get some Brooklyn vibes? Oh ok it's right from here. If you expand the area before your Brooklyn Bridge walk, you can see cool Brooklyn energetic style under the bridge.

Great District

By Mregan0 |

Lovely district with good food and bars, the bridge picture is very popular and causes crowds - go in the morning if you want to avoid! Jane’s Carousel is also recommend for just $2!

Cute area, worth a visit

By Leanne H |

We took the subway over from Manhattan and walked through DUMBO before walking across the Brooklyn Bridge. Its a cute area with lots of little shops and restaurants. There is a park area and little beach area where you can stick your feet in. Great views of the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridge along with Manhattan. There are signs to get to the stairs for crossing the brookyln bridge or take the subway back.

My favourite part of NY

By bella3004 |

This was by far my favourite part of NY ;) we went back two or three times, that's how much we liked it. Of course I wanted to go there to take photos with the bridge, but in the end, that was nothing comparing everything there. Such a clean, nice, cosy location, with nice walking area in front of the water and bridge. Old brick building with lots of small food court/places with big shared seating area. Weather was nice, location was nice, food was nice, so in general, amazing.

Great example of former industrial dockyard area being repurposed for trendy shops, restaurants & apartments

By christopherbO9687MP |

DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is another great example of a former industrial dockyard area being repurposed for trendy shops, restaurants & apartments. There are several blocks of former industrial buildings now holding retail establishments, with several more building still undergoing renovations. This area has subway stops on either side, so it's relatively easy to get to from elsewhere in NYC.

Magic Dumbo 🗽

An enjoyable walk as part of the Free Tours By Foot trips. I've been to Brooklyn many times and didn't know about DUMBO until I took this trip.

Iconic

By CMJSingapore |

Just off the traditional tourist trail. Great views of Brooklyn Bridge, East River and some lovely restaurants (and choices at Time Out) . Many great iconic views but the “tourists” have now found !

Clean, safe beautiful area at night

Clean, safe beautiful area at night. Myself and my teenage daughter walked over after dinner. Just a beautiful area with glowing views of the Manahattan skyline and brooklyn bridge over the river. Its a must see if you have the time.

Tourist City

By nycmamionthemove |

When one thinks of DUMBO, they usually don’t think of it as being a city someone visits as a tourist. It is just that and more. Throughout the years, DUMBO has grown into a popular city in Brooklyn abbreviated for Down Under the Manhattan Brooklyn Overpass. The overpass is pretty popular with events ranging from annual events to daily and seasonal events. We recently passed when the Brooklyn Flea was going on. You’ll find a group of many young, not made in New York this if singles and couples with young children, moving into the area and occupying the new luxury type of buildings and condos in and around Brooklyn Bridge Park. DUMBO is surrounded by Brooklyn Heights and the likes of Vinegar Hill. You can catch the annual DUMBO Drop, occurring in September or check out the photographers and wannabe models on the cobblestone streets where there’s a beautiful view of the bridges. New business’ are popping up all over, from paintball escape rooms like Beat the Bomb to indoor laser tag at Area 53. The F train at High Street is the #1 destination via public transportation with a few busses in sight and reminiscences’ of the street trolleys on the sidewalk. There’s a lot of rich culture behind the city of DUMBO. If you take a trip to NYC, definitely make your way via train or even ferry from Manhattan to Brooklyn and check this wonderful, sought out town out. You will create great memories. Don’t forget to ride the infamous, historic, Jane’s Carousel, create art at Creatively Wild Art Studios, eat at the brand new, Time Out NY Food Hall, grab a slice at the ever so popular Grimaldi’s or the famous Juliana’s Pizzeria, take a pic under the BK and Manhattan Bridge as everyone does, take the kids to the Brooklyn Children’s Museum Annex playspace, swing around at children’s favorite Recess DUMBO, indoor playground, skip rocks at Pebble Beach or take a short walk down to less than a decade old, Brooklyn Bridge Park, voted the best playground (Pier 6), many years in a row. Our fav ice cream in the neighborhood is Odd Fellows Ice Cream Shop but don’t tell the Ice & Vice kiosk across the street that in the market. If you’re lucky, you may catch some “art,” like a glass house in the back of Time Out Market or on the grassy knows in or outside of BK BR PK. All in all, DUMBO is a family friendly destination to live in and explore. We hope you will set out and find some hidden gems of your own as we have in recent years. Have fun!

The Urban Transformation District in Brooklyn

By Ebru A |

It is a relatively renovated/transformed district. As a city planner , I did enjoyed to visit “DUMBO”( Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). It was a joy for walking on the streets, discovering some interesting sculptures, breathing the atmosphere of the East River Bank, and witnessing some renovations. When you are in DUMBO, you can also find many cafes and restaurants to spend some time.

Nice green space

By KarenM1_10 |

We walked through the park on the promenade by the water. Very nice and peaceful. Weather was spectacular as well. Lovely area for families to go. Biking is also allowed in the area.

Great

By Brian D |

Lots to see and do in the Dumbo neighborhood. Highly recommend spending some time here. Also, offers the opportunity to take one of the most iconic photos of the bridge.

Sooo intagramable

By Renato Galisteu |

The Washington Street is a very instagramable place to go. You gotta a nice view of the Manhattan Bridge and also have some of that old (but nice) buildings surrounding the streets. And after a good photo, please, go eat a slice of pizza at the Front Street Pizza!

Nice Area

By Rschagrin |

Across the East River from Manhattan and over the Brooklyn Bridge hence the name Down under the Brooklyn Bridge. Originally mainly an industrial area that now houses high rise apartments. Therefore many nice restaurants and stores.

Beautiful, great introduction to Brooklyn

By Rachel |

I have been wanting to visit Dumbo for so long and it was amazing to see in person. Loved the view of the Manhattan Bridge from Washington Street as well as the view of Lower Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.

A must if you're going to visit NYC.

Very nice area of Brooklyn

By PatPilees |

I have not heard of Dumbo prior to my visit last week. I really enjoyed the area. With parks, old street, nice view of Manhattan and of Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO)

Great views...

By RnWP |

A great area to spend a few hours taking in the sights and an altenative view of the NYC skyline, would highly recommend.

Beware ice cream rip off at DUMBO

By DeanR |

Great photos. Great atmosphere early and the Time Out roif top cafe is grest. But beware ice cream van overcharging on cards - gave a single but charged triple. Lesson of always taking a receipt.

Interesting neighbourhood

By Steve |

The neighbourhood has a great vibe, there is a good mix of eateries, shops and markets. The views of the two bridges are also great

Interesting area.

By CumfyCritter |

DUMBO is an up and coming, redeveloped area with some amazing architecture and places to eat/drink and shop. It is very busy with lots of photo opportunities and you can also see the gorgeous traditional carousel at the front, but can only go inside it's protective glass enclosure 2 days a week. You can still see it well though. A really nice area to wander around and explore. You can also cross the Brooklyn Bridge from here.

Great surround

By Roberto |

A lot of bars , restaurants, possibility to walk around. Nice view of the Brooklyn bridge and Manhattan across the Hudson. Really a good place to spend the afternoon away from the stress of Manhattan

Worth taking a visit here to take the iconic picture of DUMBO!

By Ashley L |

Get here early and there will be no one around! It is a classic picture spot and definitely worth checking it out and the surrounding areas. Dumbo is an awesome area with so many shops, restaurants and lots to do!

Pleasant walk

By The Swiss Nomad |

Despite having visited NY two times before, I never managed to get to the end of Brooklyn Bridge and end to Dumbo, so this time I made it a priority and so happy I did.
Between Williamsburg bridge and Brooklyn Bridge there is a cute park from which you can admire the panorama, and a beach where you can relax and sit down.
The place where everyone takes pictures (with the Williamsburg bridge in the background) was very busy so we simply passed by quickly, and we happily noticed most people don't even bother to continue until the park, which is a real gem. There are also cafes and restaurants along the way.

Classic

By SFTRVLR |

Finally visited this classic view. Unfortunately an ice cream truck decided to park right in the view. Recommend Time Out Market nearby for drinks or dinner.

By Kevin Parsakia |

I was invited to the Dumbo area for drinks and it was a pleasant suprise. The neighborhood is amazing, lots of food choices, and the views are freaking amazing. At night time, the views of the city lights / bridge makes it a great spot for photo ops.

Okay

By Debs |

Hmm it was very nice.Sorry about the lack of adjectives. Nice place to walk around we had a nice coffee and cake and that was it. Adjective less.

An interesting and less frenzied NYC neighbourhood, affording great views of the Manhattan skyline.

By Brian T |

Dumbo is a neighbourhood of Brooklyn with a catchy name. It always makes me think of Dumbo the Elephant, but the neighbourhood is far from being a white elephant. Dumbo’s name is an acronym for ‘Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass’, and that’s exactly what Dumbo is… a riverside neighbourhood which seems to nestle under the high expanse of the Manhattan Bridge. And whilst the name itself is a kitschy acronym, the neighbourhood is actually far from kitschy, and is a pleasant spot to visit, particularly if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of Manhattan just across the river. The span of the bridge does give the creatively-oriented neighborhood much of its character, as do cobblestone streets and dramatic architecture left over from its industrial days. Instead of factories, today’s Dumbo features art galleries, independent bookshops, boutiques, bakeries and coffee shops, and the huge Time Out Center which is filled with cafes and restaurants.

I always enjoy a visit to Dumbo. Many visitors approach it via a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, and that’s usually what I do. It’s a good starting point as you can wander around to Dumbo’s little park that nestles under the Manhattan Bridge - the Brooklyn Bridge Park. From this little park there’s great views of the Manhattan skyline, and you can incorporate the iconic Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge into your photographs.

Many visitors to Dumbo also like to capture one of the neighbourhood’s instagrammable shots. Stand in Washington Street (along with the hordes of people doing the same thing), and you’ll get a wonderful shot of one of the pylons of the Manhattan Bridge, with the Empire State Building showing between the pylons. It requires a good zoom and a bit of patience… the shot is actually better if you move up the rise in the street a little.

The Time Out Market is full of cafes and restaurants; there are also relatively clean bathroom facilities there. Outside the Time Out Market building, facing the river, is a large heart shape, so another instagrammable spot for an iconic photo with the Manhattan skyline in the background.

I always incorporate a walk across the Manhattan Bridge when visiting Dumbo. I think the view of the Manhattan skyline from the Manhattan Bridge is far superior to those you get from the Brooklyn Bridge, as your views incorporate a much wider perspective of the skyline, and also incorporate the iconic Brooklyn Bridge. You’ll need to walk up Washington Street away from the river front, then follow the signs to the steps that lead you onto the Manhattan Bridge. It’s a bit of a walk, but not difficult to find. Stay on the left side of the bridge (facing Manhattan) for the best views. You’ll end up in Chinatown once you have crossed the bridge.

Whilst not New York City’s most vibrant, or iconic, or most thrilling neighbourhood, it gives you a different perspective of the city and is a pleasant area for coffee or a bite to eat. It's also away from the frenzy that can be Manhattan.

Enjoy your visit.

Nice visitor, don't stop going.

By Rosane Beatriz Z |

We love the neighborhood, the walk, worth walking by it before walking along the bridge. Don't stop getting to know. If you have little time in NY go to Dumbo. La you can go time out market, stroll through the neighborhood and cross the bridge.

What to do

By ManiSicure |

Yes, visiting Dumbo is a must-see in New York. I recommend arriving by metro or ferry and then walking along the river. There are plenty of places to eat. The view over New York is excellent. You don't have to plan too much, you come and walk.

Eating with a view

By sainbasha |

Dumbo is located in Brooklyn where the Manhattan Bridge lands. It is a happening place and offers eating, recreation, and awesome views. The area has excellent restaurants, bars and ice cream places. Time Out is here and inside you will find lots of eating places. Has a rooftop also where u get amazing views. Do visit when you are in Brooklyn.

DUMBO is a beautiful place to walk , visit its stores, cafés, bars...and THE VIEWS, take your camera and enjoy, you are going to love it, during the day and also during the night.

Beautiful view of Manhattan Bridge and Manhattan itself!

By Arthur M |

This area is essentially Brooklyn's most popular attraction because of the Instagrammable view of the Manhattan Bridge, and further up the beach, yet another Instagrammable view of Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan.

As a result, people are lining up the street to get a background of Manhattan Bridge but then cars are occasionally honking to the posing tourists.

Lively

By angela0809 |

The neighborhood, nestled between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, as well as offering one of New York’s most striking skylines, is all to be experienced for its clubs and markets. I also liked the Time Out Market.

Been to NY a few times and crossed the bridge once but never set foot in Brooklyn. Really enjoyed wondering around this cool, funky part of the world. Great views of the two bridges , lots of good bars and cafes and restaurants. Will sending be back to explore further

Inn this area (cross Washington and water st) is a beautiful view of manatthan and the Empire State Building trough the manatthan bridge. Be careful the road is open.

Nice hangout neighborhood!

By vmella |

Dumbo, is a very small corner of Brooklyn, where you can find some nice stores and a lot of small places to eat. It’s a nice hangout place to go with the family and friends just 20 minutes from Midtown NYC.
With the trip!

Beautiful views of Manhattan

By FLSteve |

For our first visit to Brooklyn, we chose Dumbo. Lots of cute shops and beautiful views of Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge. Definitely recommend it on a nice day.

If the only good thing about a neighborhood is the photo you take of somewhere else, don't bother!

By James A |

Between the incessant road closures, aggressive construction and deafening Subway lines, Dumbo is a hellscape of biblical proportion these days. It certainly shouldnt be anywhere near the top 10 districts to explore in NYC!

If you're thinking of visiting, I recommend waiting about 5 years until the corporate developers have squeezed the last drops of individuality out of every square inch of this already cultural wasteland.

On average 3 out of 5 of the major roads in the tiny neighborhood has construction on it somewhere along their length and the investors are hiring the cheapest labor possible so when they're finally finished the roads in Mogadishu are better than Dumbo's.

Honestly, if you do have to come here to take the same photo of the Empire State as everyone else, stick to Water St and the Riverside... save yourself from the gentrification-in-progress apocalypse taking place the length of Front Street and all the way up the hill.

For what it's worth - I've been here every single day for 4 years and have often brought visiting friends and family. But it's fallen off a cliff this year. Visit the Heights or Fort Greene instead.

Great Area

By Polar_Ski_Bear |

This area is great for view back to Manhattan. It much more relaxed than Manhattan with a great selection of shops, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets.

If I come back to New York again this is where I would look to stay.

My Favorite View!

By Shelly C |

This is my absolute favorite view of the Manhattan skyline. The view is absolutely stunning. The eatery is great with so many options. I highly suggest this place and especially at night.

Not much to do except take pics

By November_Sunrise |

I guess I missed the cool spots cause DUMBO just didn’t live up to the hype. Yes, the views along the water are wonderful. Plenty of great photo ops. But that’s where it ends. Not much to do. If you like to shop in little boutiques this may be for you. The walk back over the Brooklyn Bridge is a highlight. We did it in the afternoon and it was really too hot. It would have even much more enjoyable at night with the city lit up.

Can't not do it

By MelindaJean66 |

Must drop by to visit Washington street for the iconic picture of The Manhattan Bridge. Need to be patient as many people doing the same thing. Then wonder down the road to Time out Markets for a bite to eat.

Manhattan Bridge view

By TheCityBreakers |

We visited the area after a few hours at Brooklyn Museum and enjoyed the iconic views of the Manhattan Bridge. The area is nice, with a few restaurants and coffee shops and seemed popular with tourists because of the view.

By ymas2010 |

Such a nice place to visit and see a different side of new York. Great vibe. Lots of restaurants. Great views. Good with kids.

Innovative district

By sara f |

DUMBO one of the most cosmopolitan neighborhoods in Brooklyn, located between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge, with its picturesque streets, lined with former industrial buildings now transformed into lofts, art galleries and creative spaces, offers spectacular views of the Manhattan skyline and the majestic bridge overlooking it.
It is the perfect place for a walk, to take pictures and to let yourself be enveloped by an innovative atmosphere. The riverside park offers breathtaking views and is one of the best spots to watch the sunset over Manhattan.
Don’t miss the neighborhood’s most iconic spot, where you can take the famous photo framing the Manhattan Bridge between the red brick buildings — the same glimpse made immortal in the movie “Once Upon a Time in America.”

Great vibe here

Dumbo is quite the trendy neighborhood. It definitely has charm, lots of unique restaurants and shops to feed anyone’s desires. Walk around and eat, or people watch, just a great vibe in this community

Spend a Few Hours at DUMBO!

By WorldPartner |

DUMBO is a great place to walk around, grab a bite to eat, shop, and have a splendid view of the Manhattan skyline. We took the NYC Ferry from the 34th St East River Pier but their are other locations where you can begin your trip. Stop by the TimeOut Market and eat at any of a variety of food places offering good quick meals. Afterwards top it off at the Amphill Creamery for some ice cream. It all makes for a nearly perfect day if the weather is good.

Emerging Area

By Thomas V |

This is a part of Brooklyn that is just coming into its own. Down by the East River and below the bridges, used to be warehouses, now the home of some cool restaurants and cafes. And the views are incredible. Small area.

Fun neighborhood

By Autumn M |

I love walking around this neighborhood and getting lost. It feels like old Brooklyn. The area has so many food and drink options.

Perfect Place to watch a sunset in NYC!

By LHE |

What a treasure DUMBO is! Loved it. Great shopping, food, views of the city and so much more. Go see it!

Ideal Photo Opportunity

By Duncan H |

Social media is very hot on this place, which had to be done. Not as busy as I thought it would be. 5 min walk from Brooklyn Bridge

Great views of the skyline

By goldenalgae |

I hadn't been back to DUMBO since 2005 when it was a regular hangout for my husband and I. Wow has it changed, with many new shops and a larger park and walking path that goes all the way to the Brooklyn bridge. Note, if you want to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge you need to walk away from the pathway and up through the streets to get to the walking entrance. There are signs. We visited on a cold November Saturday and there were plenty of people milling about, taking photos and enjoying the views. We also explored the shops and the Timeout Market which is a nice indoor market with plenty of dining options. Definitely worth a visit. My favorite visits to NYC always include some time in Brooklyn.

Iconic visually but that's about it

By Muneeb |

Great photo opportunity but beyond that, it's not very entertaining. Nice restaurants nearby though.

A must spot for your NY photos

By MissGeorgiana |

DUMBO is one of the most iconic photo spots in New York, so it's definitely worth the stop, especially after crossing the Brooklyn Bridge.

It gets a bit crowded, but we had no issue getting our photo op.

Perfectly located to explore a bit of Brooklyn afterwards.

Beautiful, worth it but be careful with the tide of tourists.

By serarango |

Pleasant spot between both bridges in Brooklyn. We arrived by metro at Clarke station and the walking distance was short. Very touristy area and so be prepared for the tide of tourists, especially in the market. The views over Manhattan and the river are fabulous. We found some very interesting design object shops. The lines at the best-known restaurants are impressive.

Dirty

By TravelinBloke |

This place is so disgusting. Dirty and filled with trashy people. It used to be a nice place to visit but it’s not overfilled with trashy New Yorkers and tourists. Oh and occasionally you’ll see a couples photo shoot. Not sure why this place is so special. My bathroom sink has more charm then this place.

Simply charming

By AZtrvl06 |

My wife and started our visit by shopping at the Brooklyn Flea Market, there were many vendors with reasonably priced self created/repurposed/antique things for sale and very delicious doughnuts!

A couple blocks up from the Market was the wonderful view of the Manhattan Bridge, this view and watching everybody blocking the street to take selfies was quite enjoyable unto itself.

There are many restaurants and shops around and it is just a very cool place to walk around.

Waterfront, Converted Warehouses

By Thomas V |

This used to be a waterfront and warehouse industrial area, dominated by 2 bridges. The port functions are gone, but the waterfront is still here, now lined with beautiful park areas that draw lots of tourists. You see them exit the subway station and then walk downhill to the parks. You will find Jane's Carousel and some good places to eat and drink, plus some warehouses converted to other uses.

What a view !

By tiffauges |

For the magnificent view of the skyline, the crossing of the bridge on foot and, of course, the obligatory photo from Washington Street.

Under the bridge (s)..

By catalin s |

If it weren’t for Brooklyn Flea, we probably wouldn’t have visited the area. So a very nice surprise, another transformation project that delivers, although it now looks very gentrified and tourist oriented. Nice views of Manhattan from its East River promenade. Wandering the cobbled streets without a plan seems to be the best way to enjoy it. There are lots of places to eat or shop, midrange to upscale.
On departure, follow Washington Street to Brooklyn Bridge, climb the stairs and take a walk back to Manhattan. There’s no better way to end your visit.

Dumbo At Night

By ChrisgotDis |

Perfect to go at night with your friends, or your significant other. Beautiful views of the city , the lights , and the water reflecting blissfully. With a speaker , wine, and camera - Pefect date night !

Amazing place!!

By Aerij T |

Dumbo is a beautiful neighbourhood. Goregous architecture, stunning views of manhattan skyline, brooklyn bridge and Manhattan bridge. Great place to walk around and enjou beautiful views from every street.

A good vibe

By Julia H |

We were staying in the Bushwick area and came down to Dumbo on the recommendation of a friend. There was a block party going on and it gave a wonderful carnival atmosphere with so many food and entertainment stalls you didn't know what to look at first. There are plenty of hip shops, cafes and restaurants in the area too. We had a delicious ice cream sandwich from one of the food vendors. Well worth a visit.

As nice as on all the pictures!

By Dominique E |

Try and go early or late in the day as it does get very crowded with tourists taking pictures. You can also walk along the water for nice picture opportunities.

Love Dumbo

By Namastenomi |

We went down to the flea market walked around then grabbed brunch at Butler Bakery- they have the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. Great pastry shops to.

The architecture is gorgeous and it’s beautiful over there.

By Ariella |

Such a great place. I could not believe it was in Brooklyn. It's got things for everyone to enjoy. Food, beautiful views, a theater, museum, and much more!!

Tourst Draw

By Thomas V |

It's become quite a tourist draw with the completion of the beautiful Brooklyn Bridge Park along the harbor. The park is spectacular. But you will also find the Time Out Market with a good collection of food stalls and lots of fancy apartment buildings. The bridges overhead are impressive.

Night Skyline Views

By SteveGlasg0w |

Great location for an evening stroll or more.
With fantastic views of Manhattan skyline. It’s not to be missed.
We took an Uber from Chinatown $10.
Walk 30 mins or get the subway and stroll down the hill to the water. 10 mins.

Interesting and fun neighborhood!

By ST23 |

Walked from Manhattan across the Brooklyn Bridge, and explored DUMBO on our way to Wiliamsburg. Delightful neighborhood. Great restaurants and bars, Greenbelt along the river, lots of people out and about. Will return to explore further.

Great photo spot but VERY busy

By Jay L |

Great photo spot but VERY busy. I would recommend getting here very early. The other photo takers are usually very friendly. Nice neighbourhood.

Great views of the bridge

By Richard K |

A pleasant stop after the walk across the bridge. My son enjoyed the Brooklyn ice cream and I enjoyed the Brooklyn beer 😂

Best place in Dumbo to take a photo!

By carinajaxbeach |

Visited with my family & wanted to take them to see Brooklyn. We took an Uber ride from a Prince Street to Washington Street early evening just to get a photo! Transit “A” back to Manhattan is only 1/2 mile walk away.

A good vibe

By Russ1470 |

We came here on a Sunday and there was a great vibe. Lots of shops, places to eat and a flea market.

Photograph opportunity

By DDDFJD |

Lovely area with so many photo opportunities. A lovely view of the Manhattan skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, Jane's carousel by the water, so many stores, shops & eateries. When the weather is warm I can only imagine the crowds this area draws. So wonderful to have a beautiful walkway along the water,

Instagram classic

By MikeLeicester |

I'm not a great Instagrammer but understand that this view is highly popular. I was here twice, once mid-morning (fugetaboudit) and early morning which was much better. Helped that we were staying in Brooklyn.

Holiday

By navvy |

When in Dumbo, Brooklyn near Brooklyn Bridge Park, there is supposed to be free wifi but I can never get it! For tourists and visitors wifi is an essential facility and if the provision is there, why does it never work??

Amazing trip to Dumbo.....

By RubyRed |

So glad we came to Dumbo on our trip to New York. We stayed in Manhattan but really wanted to see as much of New York as possible. Dumbo is such a beautiful area. Make time to visit.

Best place to look at Manhattan skyline

By Satriale |

The mall where west elm is offers breathtaking views and good foos. The bar is also there if you like to hang out and look at the city. Not to be missed

Interesting area

By BarryandJackie |

Worth a walk about with interesting architecture and some interesting shops and eateries. Also, there's the bridge itself!

Great area, beautiful views!

By courtneyp2015 |

Wish we had more time to spend/stay. We took the ferry across from Wall Street- was quick and simple! The views of NYC are amazing, the carousel is beautiful- plenty of restaurants w very LONG lines! We enjoyed the DUMBO flea market- great venue. Just like any other growing area, lots of construction, but all still accessible.

Stunning Views

By Kausar Wali |

After returning from Brooklyn Bridge, we planned to go Dumbo area for some time to relax and enjoy scenery of Manhattan at night time. It is excellent place full of scenery all around especially at night when everything is illuminating. There are lots of eating places full of visitors. Ice-cream place is also overcrowded because of weekend. Everyone is busy in photography of beautiful area.

Don't Waste Your Time

By Anya G |

DO NOT VISIT DUMBO! It is a complete field of chaos. Children screaming, cars running red lights, tourists taking up entire city blocks. There's no shopping and nothing to do. DO NOT COME!

Sunset here ‘

By Dawg |

What a great area. Born raised and moved from. Eat at an area restaurant and catch the green flash. Parking tough.

Elephantless

By cuzzy73 |

This was a part of New York that I was desperate to visit due to my loving of anything Disney related . I hastily crossed the Brooklyn bridge and headed to this area , exited wasn’t the word . I looked left , right , up and down . Nope ! not one flying elephant in sight . I searched the whole area which is down under the Manhattan bridge overpass to find the elephant from my childhood but sadly it wasn’t to be . Nice area though .

Dumb-o

By Frederick T |

It was a rainy afternoon when we started our trip to Brooklyn from Manhattan. We took the subway. Good thing when we reached there it stopped raining and the sun came out. So are the herd of tourists. Well, all I can say is that, this place is just an overated, overused area of a good camera angle and you really have to be fast because you will be dealing with lots of photo bombers in the area.

Great area!

By blaineyblue |

We walked around the cobblestoned DUMBO and had dinner at Sugarcane and then stopped at Jacques Torres for chocolates. Such a great area, we will visit it again on our next trip.

Lovely area of Brooklyn

By TeamWard |

DUMBO is an area of Brooklyn created in the late 80's to be redeveloped, but jow it has a famous view of the bridge and lotsbof places to visit and all worthwhile

DUMBO

By Debbie M |

Recommend going in early morning before the crowds get there so that you can get a great picture of the Manhatten Bridge.

Best view in NYC!

By Karenusher |

My family and I agreed that this was the best thing we did whilst on holiday from London in NYC
Better yet - ITS FREE!!
We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, we did it both very early morning (hardly anyone around and much better to take pics) and we also did it at Sunset which was truly gorgeous - lots more people around, but you wont find a better view (thats free)

Lots of places to eat around this area, Time Out Market didnt open early enough for us in the morning, so we did not get to try, did try a busy Bagel shop though was very good! (sadly dont remember the name of this place). We took the bagel to Pebble Beach and sat on the stairs to eat it! We were also very lucky with it being a warm day in October!

I would definitely do this again!

Great spot to walk around a see the bridges and Manhattan

By BrooklynFamilyTravel |

We go to Dumbo monthly (at least) and go for a walk. It is a lovely place to take in the views and get a bite to eat at the Time Out food court on the waterfront. The upstairs area has stunning views (no entrance charge).

Great part of Brooklyn

By Motherofchildren |

It is really wonderful to see this most picturesque section of Brooklyn restored. We took the East River Ferry which was a scenic adventure of its own and certainly a bargain at $2.75 fare.

Lovely Area

By Reb |

Lovely view of Brooklyn Bridge from down under. My husband and I really enjoyed a peaceful stroll with lovely views of the city.

Ongoing gentrification - but still a great place

By AJNNJ44 |

I remember no so long ago when DUMBO was largely undiscovered by the masses and was a reasonably quiet, chill place to spend an afternoon. It's not that anymore as evidenced by the 19 coffee shops, trendy furniture shops, and hipster farm to table dining establishments that have sprung up in the neighborhood over the past decade or so. Change isn't always bad, though, and while I miss walking the cobblestone looking over my shoulder with a healthy bit of 'unsafe' feelings I don't think I would want to change a thing. I love seeing the area come back to life in such a vibrant way. There are still spots to relax and take a breather relatively undisturbed while watching the world pass you by.

BEST VIEWS OF MANHATTAN BRIDGE AND BROOKLYN

By Jessi Lorefice |

BEST VIEWS OF BROOKLYN BRIDGE AND MANHATTAN BRIDGE. VERY NICE, THE BEACH NEXT TO THE RIVER IS VERY NICE TOO

Great!

By Jack |

Dumbo is a trendy waterfront neighborhood in Brooklyn. It is known for its iconic Manhattan bridge view, as well as pebble beach and Brooklyn bridge park. It is home to many good restaurants as well as a great view of the NYC skyline. I highly recommend taking a trip to Dumbo.

Nice Local Place to Visit

By Jim S |

We went to DUMBO on our recent visit to New York and the whole place is very pleasant. We specifically went for the Flea market but we went for a walk along the water's edge and it was very pleasant. The are little eateries around the place as well and some great photo opportunities of the city skyline around the foreshore.

Please note you don't go to DUMBO to do, but to see and escape the rat race of Manhattan Island. DUMBO is one of those places to visit and just take in the views

Young and modern neighborhood

By Alessandra |

Beautiful neighborhood, youthful with nice places for aperitifs. And of course the famous view of the Brooklyn Point that we couldn't help but photograph!

Entertainment

By Kicco66 |

Dumbo is a small neighborhood in New York, in the Brooklyn borough, nestled between the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Bridge, in my opinion one of the most beautiful places in the city. Famous for the film "Once Upon a Time in America" it offers a stunning panorama of the New York Skyline with the two bridges in the foreground over the East River.

Brooklyn waterfront

By 4Welshies |

After walking across the Brooklyn Bridge we arrived in Dumbo. This is a really nice place to visit with lots of restaurants and shopping. Easily accessible it has a variety of restaurants and cafe’s in addition to a market area and rest rooms. Visit the piers and take a stroll through the clean and well kept parks featuring great views of Manhattan. Lots of things to do from walks and cycling to numerous sports on the pier. Take a stroll up to Brooklyn Heights along the quiet streets lined with lots of trees and small local stores and cafe’s etc. It’s safe and the people are really nice and helpful. If the walk is across the Bridge is too much then take the Water taxi from Wall Street currently $2.75 for a single trip of about three minutes. A great day out for all ages.

DUMBO is a must for any trip to NYC!

By Jack M |

Highly recommend allowing for an afternoon in DUMBO on your trip to NYC! A really cool area, lots of things to do and places to eat. An absolute must to take the walk over the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan after spending time in DUMBO. Loved this area.

Peaceful retreat with stunning views

By kpkp |

We had a great evening here especially due to some unseasonably warm sunshine. This allowed us to sit and watch the sunset then the stunning Manhattan skyline as day turned to night. We saw a marriage proposal which was lovely. If you walk over the Brooklyn bridge head here. It’s a great area with excellent photo opportunities

Great feel to the place. Got the ferry from pier 83 and had a wander around the area. Lovely shops and nice happy feel around the whole area.
The skyline with the broklyn and Manhattan bridges In the background is awsome. Really great feel after the intense crowds of lower Manhattan day before

Such a photogenic area and great in the sunshine with a clear blue sky to bring out the best in the place. It’s got a good vibe and lots of stuff going on to make an entertaining day fly in!

Loved this area, as it is very scenic, across the river

By Pierre1999 |

DUMBO has really come up from the last time I visited. The Food Hall (Time Out?) is awesome. They do need some other slightly upscale restaurants, that are not just pizza places (at $30 a pie). Perhaps a bit touristy, but great views.

Lovely chilled afternoon

By Sarah D |

Loved our time in Dumbo. The iconic view of the Manhattan bridge and then a walk down to Empire stores and onto the water front and Jane’s carousel. It has a lovely chilled feel, very different to Manhattan.

Meh

By Elizabeth L |

Meh. We had high expectations but it was not what I had envisioned. Pretty views of the water and skyline but all along the water at sunset there were people smoking marijuana. Not great when you are walking by with kids. We ended up at an over-priced area that was way to crowded for food. I don't recommend going with kids/teens.

Beautiful Place

By Sachin K |

Dumbo is a beautiful place in the close vicinity of the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn. It is a great spot for taking pictures. Strolling around in the area will give one an opportunity to feel the lively atmosphere. Certainly worth visiting.

The most Instagram worthy spot to get a photo of the iconic Manhattan Bridge is located at the intersection of Washington Street and Water Street.

Lovely area

By Lane the English traveller |

Dumbo, Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. With its cobbled streets, lovely bars and the famous photo of the empire state building through the Manhattan Bridge. The area is worth a visit in it's own right. Also, the waterfront park is an ideal place to watch the sun set.

Walk the Bridge! Wear a hat and take water!

By M H |

Loved crossing the bridge! Would have been nice to have areas to sit, it was so hot and humid. The coffee from Joe Coffee was not great. The little beach was superb and we sat down there for a long while to rest. Did not venture into the rest of Brooklyn.

Most Elegant place in Brroklyn

Only for tourists

By Iga Ż |

It’s a place to take photo od and run away. Nothing is authentic and genuine there. It’s realy beautiful to see all those lights of Manhattan and bridges, but Thats it’s. It’s borough for very very rich people. Dont go to stores or restaurants there.

Cool neighborhood.

Nice area to walk around with many awesome bars, restaurants, history and things to see. I especially loved the old brick horse stables that were saved and added to the landscape.

DUMBO it for the gram.

By Marcelle-Andrée Andjari |

It's 2019, nothing says "been there Brooklyn" more than a perfectly timed shot at Washington St and Water St. Easiest to reach by the F train, just stop at York Street Subway Station which has only one exit thus avoiding potential disorientation. Nice selection of small shops and cafes to choose from, once you're done applying filters on them photos. Word of advice: DUMBO sky is always best #NoFilter.

Love the DumBo

By Jktchorne |

Love this area! It was clean which was so nice. Not overly crowded! Did not feel like a tourist trap to me. We enjoyed lunch at the free market and walking along the park!

Don’t skip on DUMBO

By RestnRecreation |

One of my favourite days - the obligatory selfie was worth it - the views amazing and the rooftops so fine to spend a lazy afternoon at.

Moving to Dumbo

By LKS |

My daughter recently moved to Brooklyn and I helped her to get settled into the neighborhood. Spectacular view, loads of restaurants, and shopping. Filled with a mix of young families, young professionals, singles of all ages and of course many tourists.
If you can afford to live here go for it. Convenient to Manhattan, lots of charm, quiet at night, and safe.

Unmissable spot in Brooklyn

By Pepita0506 |

The location is perfect, close to the York St. Even if it was 35°C and a sweater to fall, it seemed that all the tourists had arranged to meet at this precise point. Even the cars will leave you no respite and taking the photo so desired will not be easy. Besides, looking closely at the positions of the photographers next to me, there is plenty to laugh about it 😂 Arm yourself with patience:)
The view is amazing and the little walk in the surroundings sublime. I had already crossed the Brooklyn Bridge last year so I did not dwell on it this year but you can easily spend a beautiful afternoon in this idyllic setting on the East River. Dumbo Park, at the foot of the Manhattan Bridge, is also very pleasant because it also offers a breathtaking panorama of Manhattan in the shade of some trees.
That day (Saturday), I was able to enjoy the flea market before returning to the resort. The walk in the heart of this old industrial district with a rather trendy atmosphere is worth a visit!

Fun and delicious!

Hanging out in the hippest neighbourhood in Brooklyn

By vansancopp |

Recommended by a resident of the area, we took the scenic route, via the Brooklyn Bridge, to DUMBO (Down Underneath the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). The area is dotted with restored brick buildings and warehouses giving it a raw urban vibe. Restaurants, boutiques, and live-work studios abound in this area. I like exploring the nooks and crannies of this neighborhood as this is the best way to get the real feel of DUMBO. Hipsters, young couples and families would feel at home here. Highly recommended as an alternative to the hustle bustle of Manhattan.

Look up!

By Molly S |

Wonderful views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, fantastic people watching on a summer evening. Lots of restaurant options.

worth a visit to get the above photo/selfie

By dgraham76 |

well I got the pier 11 ferry across to brooklyn heights and managed to get a photo of the skyscraper view.

An interesting place to go but totally overrun by ToK Tokers trying to get the perfect photo. Good to go by ferry and just have a wander, with the highlight being Pebble Beach and the Time Out market. Not too much else to see but wonderful views back across to Manhattan when walking along the front.

Cool area to walk around

By SmithDrKat |

Totally enjoyed walking around the area and shopping. Grabbed some eats at Time Out Market and sat on the patio. great view, service and food with friends. A must do especially if you take the hike across the bridge.

A neighborhood I've unfairly neglected for years

By Daniel S |

Despite being originally from Brooklyn, I'd next to no familiarity with DUMBO, with my images of the area being from my childhood of the 1970s and 1980s, when it was not the gentrified area it is today. My daughter and I were in NYC for a college visit (from the Boston area) and we were also doing some touristy activities. After walking the Brooklyn Bridge she really wanted to check out DUMBO, an area I'd next to no familiarity with.

For me, it was one of the highlights of the trip, particularly the park area between the bridges along the East River. I really wish we'd had more time to explore the neighborhood, Maybe if she goes to school in NYC she can take me there at some point...

Worth it for the iconic view

By Dawnie100 |

Wanted to take the iconic photo of Manhattan bridge, so took the subway across to Dumbo. There is some lovely cafes on the way down. It is quite difficult to get back though. Didn’t really want to take the subway back - but had to in the end as there were no taxis around and we struggled to work out our options. Well worth a visit though

Brilliant pics

By JacquiB1107 |

Well worth the trip out of the city to take some fantastic pictures whatever time of the day you are there .. don’t miss the experience take the subway such fun ..

Quiet and stunning.

By chrisisboss |

An iconic area to visit and even at 9am there were many people already trying to get that Insta shot of the Empire State Building. The cobblestone roads are a blast from the past and a few paces brings the amazing view of both bridges and lower Manhattan

By Hayzi111 |

Edy and I took a wander over the bridgd and headed for DUMBO as we fancied a look around and grabbing a wee photo op of the bridge from down under. Great neighbourhood, beautiful houses and some great wee shops. Photo op was taken as well before we headed uptown.

Worth a visit - maybe best in the summer

By Traveller |

I visited DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) in March 2022. I walked over the Brooklyn Bridge from the Manhattan side. DUMBO actually has two neighborhoods or sections - both with restaurants and shops. The first DUMBO neighborhood is closer to the Brooklyn Bridge and the second DUMBO neighborhood is closer to the Manhattan Bridge. I walked around both DUMBO neighborhoods for about 1.5 hours and then walked back over the Brooklyn Bridge to Manhattan. I think a visit to DUMBO is worthwhile. Perhaps it is more lively during the summer. If I make another visit to DUMBO it will be during the summer and I will stop and have something to eat next time. I may take the ferry for one of the trips between Manhattan and Brooklyn and walk on the Brooklyn Bridge for the other trip between Manhattan and Brooklyn.

Scenic waterfront beauty

By Deirdre |

I live in Brooklyn and consider it a treat when I can venture to Dumbo and walk the cobblestone streets while getting a breeze from the East River. Further, taking a ferry ride to Dumbo literally puts the icing on the cake.

Scenic

By margonyc2017 |

Just a refreshing, stress free walk thru Dumbo offers more than expected. Great shops, restaurants and scenery...

Make it a via point on your walk

By Marilynska |

As a destination its a bunch of (not inexpensive) shops and eateries that draws tourists. If you are not shopping nor hungry just walk the river front, sit and watch the waterfront, look at the bridges, find the carousel, and take the ferry across to lower Manhattan or walk the Brooklyn Bridge (or vs a vs). The green space offers a change from the urban concrete of walking between buildings.

Lovely views of NYC

By David J |

Well worth the trip from Manhattan (take the ferry!).
Lovely views across the water, nice walks and less frantic than across the river.
We found a nice rooftop restaurant and chilled (Time Out)

Lovers of cinema

By Pippowow |

For lovers of cinema and especially the film “Once Upon a Time in America” is a really beautiful place to visit and photograph!

Fantastic carousel and restaurants

By Robert L |

We went to Dumbo with our grandchildren on a Sunday morning. The highlight for the children was the carousel , and we enjoyed it too; free for the children and one dollar a piece for the accompanying adults.
Good restaurants and developing shops also under the Brooklyn bridge. The vista of the river and bridges fascinating too.

Went took the pictures

By Anna Coon |

Went and walked around with friends. There lots of people taking pictures enjoying themselves! It would be great for families as well.

Mesmerizing

By Phoebe K |

Good place to visit and see the Manhattan Skyeline.
It was an amazing time there.
If you have the chance go visit for sure!!

And you're immediately inside "Once Upon a Time in America"...

We got there by crossing the Manhattan Bridge and arriving via the internal streets that connect it to the Hudson River. What can I say, when you "emerge" on the road that leads to "Dumbo" it's a blow to the heart... You find yourself inside a film, but you're in reality. It is a fantastic observation point, with a park and children's games nearby, from which you can then head towards the Brooklyn Bridge to return to Manhattan. The views from this area are exceptional, and memorable photos are guaranteed!

Trendy spot to get a taste of Brooklyn

By Brad K |

Highly recommend checking out this area! A lot of revitalization has been done in this former warehouse and industrial area of Brooklyn. Some nice parks, good shopping, nice restaurants. Worth wondering around in and seeing the views of Manhattan.

DUMBO

By Zohi |

check this place out after walking through Brooklyn bridge, great view of the Manhattan bridge and Brooklyn Bridge

Unexpected delight

By Kevin L |

It seems strange to walk down Washington St in Brooklyn’s Dumbo area and be confronted by hundreds of people taking photos of the Manhattan Bridge but it is a sight to see and well worth it before walking back up and over the Brooklyn Bridge toward Manhattan

Nice neighborhood to walk through.

By Karrempje |

What a nice neighborhood to walk through. In some places you can see the bridges above you. There are restaurants, warehouses, beer brewery, parks, carousel, plenty to see.

Nice spot for photos

By Antonio Acha |

Is a small spot on the riverside with a couple of restaurants and stores in the place. Cool for taking a nice picture and maybe get something to eat or drink in one of the restaurants in the riverside.

Favourite spot

By astro90 |

DUMBO is one of my favourite spots to visit when in NYC. The atmosphere is superb. There are so many things to do around dumbo - from the time out market to watching the sunrise by the water! This is definitely a place you need to visit!

Magic

By Janka L |

I still can't believe it I was there, it was magic and peaceful place. Specially when is dark it has power.

This is a great area to hang out. The view by the water is great, overlooking the bridges and Manhattan. It’s also known for its photo ops, and photographers’ go to spot for amazing pictures.

Great place to visit on a summer day

By Tonyinzo |

My wife and I took the NYC ferry to DUMBO on a beautiful summer day. So many wonderful things to do. There’s a wonderful park and many many great restaurants

meh

By RandomTraveller |

DUMBO has a great vibe, with its charming streets, cool cafes, and stunning views of the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a nice spot to explore, but I wouldn’t recommend it if you're only in New York for a short visit (under 5-6 days). While it’s definitely worth checking out if you have the time, there are so many other iconic spots in the city that might be higher on your list if you’re short on time.

Wonderful sunsets!

By Jacqui |

We travelled to New York as a family of 5 (our boys are aged 16, 11 and 7) and we all absolutely loved Dumbo! It is pretty busy but with all the space it didn't feel crowded (although the restaurants were packed) We picked up some takeaway pizza and grabbed a bench to sit and eat it while you watch the sun go down over the Manhattan skyline. There are lots of play parks to keep the kids entertained, and there are public toilets (although they weren't the cleanest we've seen!). For great photos of the bridges go to Water Street or Plymouth Street, and for amazing pizza we recommend Front Street Pizza. To get to the best sunset views it is only about 5-10 mins walk from the subway. This was one of our favourite evenings spent in New York.

Great visit

By SunFun1856 |

Great location to take pics of the Manhattan Bridge and Manhattan skyline. Lots of fun shops to pop into.

An excellent plan

By Arnold Ernesto G |

Crossing the Brooklyn Bridge is a wonderful experience and having the opportunity to contemplate the amazing view of Manhattan from Dumbo is an experience you must have. Just walk or stay on the riverside and let your soul absorb many feelings. Is better to do it at sunset. The views are.... After that enjoy dinner. There are ggod restaurants in Dumbo. Some require reservation in advance

Downtown Brooklyn (Dumbo) BEAUTIFUL

By gingin07 |

This place is just Amazing! I’m a New Yorker but I never get tired of looking at New York and all its beauty, Dumbo is getting better every year all the new building and restaurant and rooftop it’s just getting better and better.. a place to definitely see.. love it!

Excellent visit but don't get the ice cream!

By Michael W |

Superb place to visit to get photos of Brooklyn Bridge and NYC. Would have given it 5 stara but for the experience of our visit to an ice cream van just up the bank from the main photo spots. On ordering an ice cream, he them demanded $21 for a single cone. Price in Central Park was $6. The van doesn't have any prices listed on it so just want people to be warned. Vans elsewhere on Manhattan have prices listed. The Fifty Sanesta on 50th Street was an excellent hotel for our stop. Ideal location, massive rooms and friendly staff.

Great ferry ride to DUMBO

By Sandra U. |

We took the ferry over and took in the sites---carousel, waterfront, etc. Nice day out but we got stuck in a downpour. Good thing we were able to jump into the food hall by the carousel to kill some time. Great place for drinks and eats.

Magnificent views

By Alexander_G31 |

Beautiful, modern and stylish area in Brooklyn between Brooklyn an Manhattan bridges. Stunning views of Manhattan

Nice and Aesthetic

By Leorae |

Many shops and photogenic streets. The Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges are really close. There's rollerblading and other sports area by the pier. Nice view of downtown Manhattan. Good photo spots for the Brooklyn bridge. The statue of liberty is briefly visible.

Hyper Trendy Brooklyn

By Phatbloke |

Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass (DUMBO) is a quite new and trendy area of Brooklyn, based around the horrendously noisy overpass, I cannot understand how people live near it. There are many bars and shops and some great views of Brooklyn and the bridges reaching over from Manhattan. Brooklyn itself is very cool and kind of how you imagine New York with all the Brownstones and people outside. Well worth a visit, but I'd go in summer next time!

Great views

By rachismall |

Started the day in dumbo, walked down to Washington street to see beautiful view of manhatten bridge with Empire State Building. Then onto pebble beach, great view of Brooklyn bridge, then breakfast at timeout market.
Really good experience
Then headed over the bridge walking into Manhattan

Always something to do in Brooklyn

By 157henk157 |

At Dumbo we were lucky, because not onlyt do they have a flea market there on a regular basis, but they also aired the Women Football (Soccer) Championships there, which had a great atmosphere, probably also because the USA won from The Netherlands, (sad me).

Gorgeous views

By amydodson |

Sunday flea market in DUMBO is a great time, and just walking along the neighborhood taking in the beautiful skyline of Manhattan is worth the trip over. Grab a lovely dinner in one of the restaurants on the waterfront to get the full effect.

best view of the Manhattan skyline

By Rob M |

head over to dumbo for the best views of the city, this once forgotten area has been massively revitalised in recent years, thanks in part to the instagram effect. now there are trendy shops, cafes and restaurants.

Can't miss it.

By Artur B |

A complete distinguish atmosphere from Manhattan.
Smells the 30s feels like old América. Nice location, good shops, wonderful photos to take.

Best views of Manhattan

By Allacazam17 |

I strongly recommend visiting this area to see stunning views of the Manhattan skyline, Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge. There are lots of places to chill at the park so bring a picnic or get some pizza and really take in the views. Not too busy either.

Dumbo

By Nico Salado |

Fair tourist spot due to its instagrammable area. A lot of tourist at the weekend. Looks nice on the picture but has a lot of trash. Restaurant and food stalls on the area.

Make sure you leave Manhattan and get here

By 70'sThrowback |

I loved the feel of this place, closest thing in Manhattan is the village. Just felt relaxed and the timeout market is a great place to visit. One place I would like to come back to and spend more time.

Iconic area and view point

By Paul O |

Iconic neighbourhood that included that famous view point of the Manhattan Bridge. It can get very busy so try and arrive early to get best pics.

We also enjoyed pebble beach and as it was a Sunday we visited the flea market.

Visit to Dumbo Brooklyn NY

By Angely16 |

I was looking picture at the internet and look this nice view with the bridge and I decide to go we my husband to take the famous picture, but I don’t know we went to found many beautiful things to do, the area is romantic, every where you walk you have to take a picture because is so magic: the view of the city, the art, the restaurants, shops, 2 bridges we a lot of history, the park , the people having nice time and relaxing 😌 omg you have to go 100% sure you will like !!!

Vibrant neighborhood, spectacular views

By njcavalier |

We spent time in DUMBO with out-of-state relatives and had a blast. There are restaurants for every palate, the views are great, and there is easy access to the Brooklyn Bridge for walking across. A great stop on a visit to Brooklyn.

Nice Area

By Mark |

Dumbo is nice and has some interesting architecture and shops, but if you are short on time in Brooklyn it would not be at the top of my list. Williamsburg, Cobble Hill, and Brooklyn Heights are better choices.

A day in DUMBO

By Sarah Bright |

If you are heading to Brooklyn, don't forget to check out DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass). This historic area has plenty of shops, thriving art galleries, unique eats, and phenomenal architecture. There is something fantastic to experience around every corner of this New York City destination.

Awesome walk

Great place to walk around in Brooklyn along East River. Very nice area. Have ice cream at Ample Hill, walk over by carousel. Enjoy.

Beautiful neighbourhood

By BelaN74 |

Dumbo is a beautiful neighbourhood with great photo opportunities under the Brooklyn Bridge. We went mid day and it was very busy so expect crowds.

DUMBO

By Amy D |

We love coming here when visiting NYC. We have walked the Brooklyn Bridge from the Financial District area. We have also taken the ferry from Manhattan. We have also taken the subway. It's a cute and trendy place where we can stroll peacefully, take pictures of Manhattan skyline, have a bite to eat, sit and relax. There is an amazing rooftop at Timeout Market. We have only visited during the day. We're looking forward to returning at night so that we can view the Manhattan skyline.

Super TOURIST CITY

By Robert G |

Packed with tourists taking odd pics of Brooklyn Bridge. Went once and was amazed how clean Brooklyn area is. But, would not go back.

Photo of Brooklyn Bridge, Front St.& Washington St, DUMBO

By eldela28 |

The best kept secret for those interested taking a photograph of the Brooklyn Bridge. Always crowded with amateurs or professional photographers.

Although many go during the day, it is also very popular by night. The visual effect is "magical" and worth the trip. Highly recommend it.

Super crowded

By bug92 |

Dumbo is a very picturesque area of Brooklyn. Absolutely beautiful place to visit. There’s a street that is very popular to photograph that attracts a crazy amount people. With the exception of that particular crowded street, Dumbo is a slower paced, more family oriented area of NY.

Nice excursion destination

By Silvia B |

Nice area, very good food and a beautiful view. Very noisy on the shore though. The train rattles over the bridge and lots of cars

Great Picture Ppportunities

By OrmosGadde |

Busy, commercial, touristy, but offers great picture opportunities of the bridge and the Manhattan Skyline.

Great views but very busy

By org17 |

While the area has great views of the bridge and of Manhattan, it has become too busy with tourists who seem to come only to take a good picture and move on to their next destination.

Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass

By tinylass |

Nice neighbourhood by the river in Brooklyn with many things to see and do. The Time Out market can't be missed as well as Washington Street for the iconic view of Manhattan Bridge. Visit Pebble Beach for views of Manhattan, and the famous carousel in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Definitely worth a visit!

Dumbo NYC

By Twistedmelon |

Dumbo, a great walk through to Brooklyn bridge, with the iconic photo of the Manhattan bridge and empire state building. Nice area, lots of new and redeveloped apartments. Go early avoid the crowds. Try the bacon egg n cheese bagels at la bagel delight, probably the best we had in NYC..😏

Thrilling

By berte14 |

Our first itinerary, and we weren't wrong; the emotion you feel when you see the intersection of "Once upon a time in America" is indescribable, we took hundreds of photos and never wanted to leave. The neighborhood is like a wedding favor.

Great place to slow down

By 329john123 |

Really nice area with views of the skyline and many restaurants and free events in the evenings with really good local bands playing a variety of music. A great place to wind down from the bustle of the city. The only downside is the noise from the subway trains as they travel across the bridge.

I felt safe and comfortable

By Francisco C |

Dumbo has its history, fantastic notuna life, Time Out Market I recommend visiting, good places to eat and have a beer.

Picture Perfect

By Caroline |

Great photo opportunity! Go early hours in the morning to avoid the crowds.
(If you use my picture give credit)

A “must do” in Brooklyn.

By sharrongeg |

Best views of Manhattan we have ever seen. Such a cool area. We walked around for a few hours and enjoyed ourselves. Best part was taking pictures of both the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn bridge around sunset.

We felt quite safe, but realize - this place is crowded!

Great area

By Griffos4 |

Lots of funky restaurants and bars including the Time Out market. Crowds at the market can be large so finding a seat to eat can be a challenge.

Beautiful views

By Mountainlinnea |

Enjoyed the walk and this spot was filled with folks taking photos with the bridge in the background.

Repurposed Warehouses

By Thomas V |

This is a small neighborhood under the bridges down by the East River. Good place to catch the ferry, see Jane's Carousel, and walk the park along the river. Lots of repurposed warehouses that are now apartments and some offices. Lots of pizza restaurants.

Great photo opportunities

By vickiwood |

We used the subway from Manhattan which was great. Some great photo opportunities. I would recommend arriving early as it can be busy. I have a YouTube channel @vickisworldtravel & I vlogged my experience & spent 10 days in this wonderful city.

Iconic Views

By ChickenParm41 |

The views from here are quite spectacular. From views under the Manhattan Bridge to views over to the Brooklyn Bridge, it's Magical. There is a historic carousel there and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. A must see!

Nice neighborhood!

By Mélani |

This is a very nice area to visit with very nice views.
We enjoyed the walk around this place.

I recommend.

Interesting area with some good restaurants and shops.

By almsafir |

A Lovely place to walk around if the weather is nice.. Try the large Market building, which has a bunch of food purveyors, for lunch or dinner. Juliana has a branch on the 5th floor with no long waiting line like the one on street level.

Nicer than Manhattan

By Sander_Yoho |

This area is becoming a really nice neighbourhood. A lot of nice restaurants, shops and galleries are in. And it doesn’t have the “rushed feeling” as on Manhattan.

Much to do

By Carol J |

A wonderful place for events,
Food , activities, walking.
Sunday markets under the bridge..a pleasant surprise with an aray of vintage ,
Food , art ,and more!
A variety of restaurants.

DUMBO is bucket list worthy

By Dana Los Angeles |

Just a short bridge away from Manhattan but the small distance creates a different space that feels like old New York with some tourists thrown in for good measure. Bucket List worthy.

A must Visit

By IV1998 |

we did this as part of a multi attraction with the New York Pass, this was definatlry one of the better Tours which we did with the Brooklyn Bridge as well over a couple of hours & is worth the effort, lovely place to visit.

Dumbo

By Mustafa |

Very Nice Area With Lots Of Restaurants And Shops. The Famous "Gleason's Boxing Gym Is Located There. Many Great Boxing Champions Have Come Through That Gym And They Are Open Everyday If You Want A Good Boxing Workout. You Can Also Walk To The Bridge And Go Up The Stairs To Walk From Brooklyn To Manhattan Via The Brooklyn Bridge. The Walk Is Fantastic, As You Will Be Joined By Hundreds Of Others Enjoying That Trek... And Enjoying The Views.... Really Enjoyable.

New Adventures In DUMBO

By BklynBoy8 |

Once a rundown area of Brooklyn with Ships and Piers, DUMBO.

Turned into a Park & Recreation area with walking mall along the waterfront.

Now also included sport area and benches to watch the world go by in the East River especially the transit ferries.

And when you are there make sure you take the opportunity in the evening for a photo op of the glistering Lower Manhattan.

And also take the opportunity to see the stores and shops around the old warehouses. Also the restaurants are a treat to try.

DUMBO in Brooklyn

By kc l |

When you visit NYC, DUMBO is a must. You can also see the east side of Manhattan from DUMBO, the view was just breathtaking!

Love Dumbo

By Mrblaw |

Great are. Sundays has a flea market which is great. There are stores and the picture of the bridge are spectacular. Not to far over the bridge. And it’s quaint.

Trendy Neighborhood with Great Views of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Skyline

By TravelingSoccerLoon |

DUMBO (which is an anacronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) is a very cool neighborhood in NYC located in Brooklyn. Former industrial area that became a neighborhood for artists in the late 1970s. It underwent gentrification in the late 1990s and is now one of the most expensive neighborhoods in NYC. Lots of great restaurants, cafes, bars, breweries, and shops. We enjoyed eating brunch at the outstanding Westville Dumbo on Washington Street. The best part of a visit here is the views of the Brooklyn Bridge and the Manhattan Skyline across the East River from the park space along the river. Pebble Beach at Main Street Park is a particularly good viewpoint. A good way to get to DUMBO is to take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. Alternatively, you can hop on one of the NYC Ferries that travel up and down the East River and which makes a stop at the Fulton Ferry Landing.

Dumbo Tour

By Denise D |

Crossing the bridge, taking a photo at Dumbo, taking a
Ice cream, lunch a rooftop all amazing, the place is quite inviting for a walk

Love a flea but this ain’t worth the effort for the market 😞

By ukpandagirl |

We love a good flea market and this was a massive disappointment. Very few stalls and all massively overpriced.

Don’t bother visiting it’s only good points were the views around it which you see from the walk over Brooklyn Bridge.

Good place spend couple of hours

By GoSatish |

We were driving to JFK and we had couple of hours to spare. We parked in a close by kwik parking lot for about 25 dollars and walked around the place. We were at Grimaldi’s and pizza was awesome. It’s the place where locals line up to eat pizza. We walked over to the shore and Manhattan skyscrapers looks beautiful from there. If we had more time we could have taken the subway/water taxi/walked over the bridge to Manhattan and explored a little.

Cool place to walk and see the NYC skyline

By Explorer_IM |

What a beautiful place to visit to see the sunset and different bridges connecting boroughs of NYC. Just sit there and relax while you are immersed in the beauty of grand buildings of Manhattan.

Full of activities

By Birgitta-Kenneth |

There is quite a lot to do here apart from the view with markets, restaurants, small stores, parks and so on so do plan for a few hours of being here

Not a large area

By krocking123 |

Well if you are walking the Brooklyn bridge you should swing down to Dumbo.. nice cobble streets with noteworthy shops to eat at.. a few have been around for years.. very clean and felt safe as well.great views. Not much parking. Plan 3 hours to do a lap around the streets and a stop at Janes carousel

Way to busy.

By Stella B |

It was very busy here and there wasn’t enough facilities for the amount of visitors but very nice edgy style with a nice vintage market on although quite pricey for some things but you would guess that if you were buying vintage.

A must at NY!

By omarcrux |

If you are coming from Manhattan to Brooklyn through Brooklyn bridge, don't forget to walk to Dumbo Neighborhood, you can find there food and drinks. Go to Empire Fulton Ferry Park and Main Street Park, there is an amazing viewpoint to take photos in between Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges.

Lovely

This is actually a very good place to meet and hang out with friends and family. Is perfect for you to meet someone as well lots of cool people around here. Lots of good restaurants and places to drink 🍹 if you happen to be around don’t forget to visit Master Chef Jaques Torres Bakery’s.. if you are lucky enough you might meet him as we did🥰🥰🙏 anyway definitely recommend this place to everyone who visiting our beautiful city 🌃 and don’t forget to stroll the Brooklyn Bridge 🌉

Average at best

By Math1966 |

Much cleaner more gentrified than it was when I was last here 20 years ago but there is still very little here to entertain. Apart from the iconic Manhattan Bridge view and the Time Out food market, there’s very little in the way of shops to browse or things to do yet

No Flying Elephants About ;)

By therichastill |

I did not realise that Dumbo is an acronym for the area - Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This would fit in with other areas of Manhattan such as TriBeCa.

It's a nicely restored area of Brooklyn and there are plenty of cobbled streets and old warehouses that have been restored for new purposes such as flats, restaurants and bars.

It's definitely an area of Brooklyn that needs to be explored if you have not visited the city before. There are some amazing views of the surrounding area to admire as well as places to sit and relax after a day walking around.

Nice district but not easy to find it's way

By Jean H |

We loved DUMBO after walking the Brooklyn Bridge and had lunch there, at Westville.
Although you have two maps of the district right under the bridge when you step down from it, I found it hard to find my way.
The district is packed with tourists so do not hesitate to go see the nearby "fruit streets" nearby, very quiet and picturesque.

Beautiful place with stunning views

By Keeksdeeks |

Dumbo is great neck of the woods & offers a unique view of the Manhattan skyline. We grab a drink and sat in the public park and just spent a few hours soaking up the atmosphere & enjoying the spectacular area. We then walked over the Brooklyn Bridge back towards Manhattan at sunset which was a great way to see even more of the beautiful skyline.

What a top and classic place. I highly recommend visiting this place and getting a magnificent view of the Brooklyn Bridge. Very worth it

Once Upon a Time in America

By 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑜 𝐷'𝐴𝑔𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑜 🇮🇹 |

Lovers of Sergio Leone's films cannot help but be moved by seeing this glimpse of New York where the director shot one of the most famous scenes of "Once Upon a Time in America", not surprisingly also chosen as the film's poster. The DUMBO viewpoint, an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, is located in Brooklyn at the end of Washington Street, in a beautiful and lively area of the city. The view of the Manhattan Bridge is splendid, framing the Empire State Building at the center of the central pylons.

Awesome Place to hangout

By pags-21 |

Great place to go at night
Awesome view of manhattan
Lots of restraint options - place has really great vibe.

Nice use of the space

By zaclady |

Great place to take a walk and to munch. Vista of New York City is awesome. Good people watching.
Enjoy

Absolutely Adorable!

By schh912 |

We came for the Time-Out Market, Clinton's Bakery to be exact and found the area to be cute! We sat by the water, right in front of Jane's Carousel and it was nice and calming. Great break away from the city. I do agree with some of the comments that there isn't much to do in DUMBO, but it is just nice to unwind and enjoy this cute cozy neighborhood. I would come again for a quick visit and lunch.

Must see, gorgeous NYC view

By Brookvt |

This neighborhood is fun and has so much to enjoy. We had incredible Mexican food, took in the view of the city, and a fun market on Sunday. Dumbo is a must see in NYC!

Great View

By Blue S |

We explored New York City, and the view was spectacular. Even though it's cold, the trip is worth yet. Also, you can explore the local shops and street food.

Nice place to walk around

By JohnB7987 |

This is nice place to walk around during the day time. However, I would be more concerned at night when some of the streets are desolate and homeless people walking around.

Down Undre the Manhattan Bridge Overpass = D.U.M.B.O :)

By Tallian G |

Between the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridge there is a piece of full of life field of NYC. Dumbo is one of the most visited place in NYC. Brooklyn Bridge Park, Jane's Carousel, St.Anna Warehouse Theater..and many others great Resaturants like Luke's Lobster or Juliano's pizza...If you want to enjoy a real social life on a sunny day at river side with view of Manhattan or Brooklyn Bridge...take a short walk around this passes,

Manhattan and Brooklyn bridge amazing

By Dr.Tanvir Ahmad Khan |

Must see place. Always crowded. All facilities nearby. The beautiful view of the manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge simply makes it awesome

Disappointing

By Brozz1e |

Other than the picture you see, that is all there is there. We walked around the streets trying to find some sign of life but nothing only a Starbucks, Maybe it was to early for things or people to explore at 9am?
Although the walk back across Brooklyn Bridge was well worth it, stunning structure and great views.

Now this is the spot for a picture

By tinaNtravel |

This is a great place for a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge and a lot of people know it – as it was quite crowded when we were there. After taking your pictures, you can walk down towards the water and to the left to sit on a bench and look at the water, or you can walk back to the entry way to walk over the bridge.
