Was not expecting much and was pleasantly surprised. Kids loved the rides ages 4 and 5. Staff did great job with Covid restrictions. Kids had to use sanitizer before getting on any ride.

Took all of my grandkids at different times. Great shows and rides. This park is very pocketbook friendly

Positives:
1. Liberal rain check policy allowed my family to re-visit Sunday following a Friday afternoon rain out.
2. Short wait times on an overcast/rainy Friday in the middle of summer.
3. Tickets are currently discounted to $23/pp + tax/fees. This change occurred Monday (8/3) of our vacation.
4. Kids age 2 and under are free!
5. Friendly security who did their job while understanding need to bring in baby food and milk.
6. Friendly customer service, Diane, explained we could visit the park on Sunday even though our rain check ticket numbers couldn't be accepted by the RSVP website.
7. Water area and dry rides are all one park, one price
8. Park size is manageable. The turnpike cars went out of service, and it was easy to come back later vs. larger theme parks.
Negatives:
1. The park is not worth the $46 stick price, $42 online price, nor the $39 Weis Markets price if doing dry rides only. If a family is able to arrive at 10AM and stay to 6PM hitting the water and dry sides with limited wait times they could maximize the value. However, any family with young kids, by 2PM, its nap time and the visit is over.
2. The price is lower because several of the attractions are closed due to COVID-19 or management decision from lower visitor count.
3. Ride reliability was lower than expected. The train was delayed into service, the Turnpike taken out twice, and once half the rides stopped working from an electrical issue.
4. The park is cramped with limited space for walkways. We successfully visited with a family member in a wheelchair but it was not easy. For example, the monorail has a 1-1/2 story flight of concrete steps with no other access. Even getting her one and off the train was a bit of an ordeal due to the posts and queue fence. I get it, the Clark family built the park in the 1960s and Dutch doesn’t have a lot of property, but, other venues have improved on this front.
5. The water park is a nice slash park, not a water park. It’s fun for toddlers. The only ride is a pair of water slides.
6. It’s worth a try, but there are better deals for family fun. If you have never been, go now for ~$25 while the discount lasts.
7. I frequently visit and highly recommend for families of all ages the park near Rt. 487 & 54 intersection.

It had been about 25 years since my last visit to Dutch Wonderland and it didn’t seem like too much had changed. My niece, sister-in-law and I took my great-nephew and great-nieces (10.5 months, 6 years and 4 years) for the day.
We arrived about 11:30 a.m. on a Wednesday only to sit in line for about 30 minutes waiting to pay to park; we were directed to the parking area.
Once parked we headed to the entrance only to stand in line for 15 minutes to go through “security”. After a 2.5 hour drive everyone needed a restroom break where we stood in line for another 10 minutes. Next we had to head to the entrance to the actual park, which resulted in another 20 minutes standing in line. So our first 45 minutes after parking was nothing but standing in line. All of this line standing was not handicapped friendly especially for someone with leg and/or back issues. We didn’t stand in lines this long in Disney earlier this year.
The one saving grace was that they had ECVs (electric conveyance vehicles a.k.a scooters) to rent at $35 per day actually closer to $45 with all of the taxes and fees, but it was so worth it.
The 6 and 4 year old were tall enough to ride most of the rides so they had a good time. They really wanted to ride a specific roller coaster but it wasn’t operating; the other smaller coaster wasn’t operating either and by the time we made our way back towards the train the large coaster wasn’t operating either.
The spinning turtles and spinning house were 2 of their favorites. There were very long lines at most of the rides which was to be expected, but there were a lot of line jumpers and the ride operators didn’t care.
Dutch Wonderland is definitely geared towards the younger kids but adults can have a good time too!
We’ll probably bring the kids again.

Had a great experience again at Dutch Wonderland. Kids ranging 2 to 8 had a fantastic time on all the rides. There was something for everyone and the water park was great for a midday break. The hours are reduced right now so we ran out of time but it is what it is. We also rented a Cabana which was a great experience. We had our own place to leave our stuff, got table service for lunch (no waiting in line or spending time trying find 5 seats together) and a shelter for when the littlest one needed a break. Highly recommend for anyone with kids 10 and under.

Decided to take my 3 children (9, 6 & 5) to Dutch Wonderland last Saturday. We had a blast! There was no wait for any of the rides including their newest coaster Merlin's Mayhem (which we rode over & over & over again!). The park is clean and the staff is very friendly. It was't too hot, so we skipped Duke's Lagoon (waterpark). The kids are already asking to go again so we will definitely be back soon!

We went on the Sunday of Labor Day (Sept 4) and were very skeptical before going, due to the previous reviews stating that the many rides weren’t in service and it was a rip off. Maybe it was because it was the holiday weekend but we did NOT feel that we were slighted at all. There were a few rides that were closed in the AM but that changed in the PM. Our two girls (ages 9 and 4) had a blast!! Loved seeing the smiles on their faces.
Got there at 9:30 and had no problem parking and entering. We were able to ride the train around before being allowed to explore the park. Workers were friendly and helpful.
LOVED the diving show! Funny and talented performers! And it felt great sitting in the “splash zone” on the hot day. A definite MUST DO when you go!
Lines did get a little long in the PM but that was expected for a holiday weekend. Everything is what you make of it! We were so glad we still decided to go and make some great family memories! Our girls cried when we left because they wanted to stay and come back the next day!
Thanks Dutch Wonderland- we will be back!!!

Our four-year-old could pretty much ride everything here. No gross couples or obnoxious teenagers in line. Pleasant experience for adults as well. Place is clean and very well kept, lines are minimal, and prices are reasonable.

Loved the self guided boat ride, the train and the water park. Loved ait all. I think a map or directions to the various places could be placed near the entrance.

Here today on Memorial Day with family. Rented a cabana at the water park. Everything is very nice . The 2 boys running the cabana Andrew and Luke were very nice ,friendly and very helpful! Thank you guys so much for taking care of us today! It made our experience awesome! The girls had a great time riding rides and the water park! So many memories made today! This is the 3rd generation coming here. Thank you for having such a great clean and friendly park!

This was our second time here with our kids. First time, they were 1.5 and 3years old and now they are 4 and 6 years old. They probably loved it even more now since they were at the stage where they could do almost all the rides. We loved the fact that we could go the night prior when the lines were very short. The next day, we spent almost half the day in the water park area since it was so hot and the kids absolutely loved it. We did leave the park briefly to get an early dinner but then we returned without issues. During the day the lines seemed longer but only the new roller coaster did my 6 year old had to wait more than 10minutes. The policy is no outside food and drinks but my kids are very pick eaters and food inside is expensive, so I went ahead and packed a lunch. Security did not seem to care about it and waved us right through. And I do not really understand the other reviewers complaining about the workers - I am not sure I've been to any amusement park where the park workers are so enthused. These workers probably only get paid minimum wage so I am actually surprised if they engage the kids outside of their mandatory safety checks.
If you have young kids definitely take them here. It is so fun for them!

This is my midway stop on the journey from Pittsburgh to Wildwood, (8/5) and its a great diversion. No matter how hot it is outside, this is a great reprieve from the hot sun and Route 30 traffic. Always a cheerful greeting from the parking attendant, and luckily found a spot very close to the castle. Picked up my ticket at guest services. Waited patiently as a Mom with a special needs son had about 2 dozen questions about her future visit. The staff member was great and the Mom left confident her visit would be fine.
Immediately visted the new Merlin's Mayhem. Entire Q area was spotless, and I believe the operator who was at the controls was normally working at the water-play area, was doing an outstanding job directlng riders to their seats. The single train coaster was in and out quickly without delays. After several trips on the coaster (front seat gives a great swinging sensation like Cedar Points Iron Dragon) took a ride on the Joust and Kingdom Coaster. Also ride the Double Splash Flume. Water was clear with splashes for everyone.
Decided to visit the Potato Patch. Mary the cashier was eager to listen to the order and I was served a great hot order of fries with a beverage and found a nearby seat in a very clean patio setting. Very clean for August, so deep in the season. Made a lap around the park, sampled the Muffin Tin game, and then shopped at the Castle on my way out. The cashier was able to point out some Christmas items so now I will have a Duke on my tree for the first time.
I took a drive through the camp ground before I departed, and the place was clean and inviting. The entire complex is spotless, from the parking lot to the campground, to all the walkways to all the foodservice seating. Every building I entered had proper air conditioning, and with the excpetion of maybe one dippin dots location and 1-2 games, all rides, retail, and foodserivice areas were open and staffed. There was an absolutely great crowd here today. This is a great family park that will get even better when the hotel next door opens next summer.

We chose Lancaster as a stopping point on our return road trip to Boston and spent the day at Dutch Wonderland with our 3 and 6 y/o. We stopped in on a Monday in the summer but, were still surprised with the size of the crowd. We got there early enough to be able to hope on some rides without a wait but, as the day went on the wait got longer... not a complaint as much as a suggestion to get there early.
On to the fun stuff... this place was really fun for my two kids. The really enjoyed a large number of rides. Their favorite is the Whip ride that whips you in a little care around a corner. So much fun.
We ate at the Mill Stream Eatery and it was just ok... all in all, we were able to milk the place for around 5 or 6 hours which was awesome!

Visited with our almost 3 year old grand daughter and everyone really enjoyed it. The trick or treating was limited but a nice add on. The park was very clean, the staff, friendly and helpful and thankfully not to crowded. We love that this park is geared toward younger children and actually got season passes for next year.
The only thing we did not care for was the food at the park. We ate dinner at one of the restaurants and the food was not good at all. We also got cotton candy and funnel cake sticks (no real funnel cakes), they were not good either.

I thought park was clean enough and staff ok. The rides are fun. They have no paper map and the one on the website is impossible to use. There’s no app and no wait times posted anywhere so you you have no clue what you’re getting into. The rides load so slowly. They need to work on efficiency. The flume was 45 minutes. It took 2 minutes to load one boat. The Merlín Mahem coaster which was great is also painful- one ride every 5 minutes. They need to have another car so that it’s loaded and ready to go when the previous car is done.

We loved that it's geared for younger children. Our 5 y/o granddaughter had a blast. All the rides are kid friendly. The park was clean. Merlin's buffet was good alternative to the the other restaurant on site. It was much less crowded.

Brought grandkids.....food a bit high but rides were "doable" for most age groups. NICE park. The flowers and cleanliness adds to the visit. It closes earlier than some amusement parks which is good.

Beware of purchasing tickets to Dutch Wonderland through Groupon. Dutch Wonderland will not honor the policy posted on Groupon. "Local:
Your voucher may always be redeemed at the merchant who issued it for at least the amount you paid for it – even if the promotional value has expired. The merchant is solely responsible to you for honoring the voucher up to the amount paid." I paid $47.99 for a ticket as a birthday gift for our grandson. It had expired and neither Groupon or Dutch Wonderland would allow a credit towards a new ticket for my grandson.

Fun for the whole family! It was a little crowded when we went and some rides were closed but all in all we had a great time.

While on our vacation in Lancaster, we took the kids, ages 7 and (almost) 4, to Dutch Wonderland. We chose to go after 5:30 p.m. for the Twilight option. It's much cheaper than the all day cost and still gives you a solid 3 hours in the park. We didn't need nearly that much time because a number of the kiddie rides were closed. It was disappointing to the kids and forced us to go on rides multiple times. One advantage to going at night was the lack of large crowds which was a plus. The kids did enjoy the rides they were able to get on and the 7 year old was able to go on the flume and sky ride. The 4 year old was definitely short-changed. Maybe things are different during the daytime, but our experience was not very positive.

We loved this family day out. The roller coasters were the perfect size and the park not too overwhelming for 5yo and 7yo. Really enjoyed our first theme park experience.

Horrible!!! We traveled three hours to dutch wonderland today to be met with a 40 minute line in the sweltering heat just to get inside the park. Once we passed through the gate to park we saw that the water park was closed! We came dressed in bathing suits ready to get wet and had to change our plans. We were very disappointed. Half of the park was closed. I don't know why they opened the park today. They gave us complimentary tickets to be used by next August 11 but really that does not compensate our boiling hot, unpleasant day. I am really very upset about experience at dutch wonderland and feel very mistreated.

Had a great time with our adult children and our young granddaughters. Personally I’d say it’s best for younger kids

We took advantage of end of season discounts over Labor Day weekend and still regretted the money wasted because so many rides and food stops were closed. The big water slides, slushie shop, and too many other shops and rides to count - just completely closed. They would open some rides for a short time and then close it down after you’d been standing in line waiting to get on, so you’d have very disappointed kids. The lines to get your refillable cup or just a cup of water were at least 45 minutes long! It was overall a tiring, disappointing day as we raced around the park trying to catch the things that were actually open.

Dutch wonderland is a great amusement park for young children. The park is just the right size to allow for various ride options without being too taxing on the little ones' legs. All areas are stroller accesible as well. The preview option (visit the day before for the last 3 hours of closing) is a big plus! It extends the admission into almost 2 days of fun. Our kids had a great time!

This was a great park for children under the age of 10.
The water park is also a super nice place for your children to play as you don’t have to worry about them in pools and deep water.
Rides were also nice.
Everything was in great condition. It was starting to get dated.
It was a little over priced and entry with tickets seemed a little confusing.

First time visitor there from North Carolina visiting family in Pennsylvania. I took my son and we had a blast. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. We had a great trip there. The majority of the rides are kid friendly for younger kids.

Took our 6 yr old as a early bday present and our 2 year old, best decision ever , although it’s alittle pricey on admission it includes all rides so that’s a plus, they have a cool rides for little kids and older kids too, will be back soon

brought the great grandkids for some fun. they had a blast. seems to be something for every age group. also moderately priced. not one of your mega parks, so it made for and enjoyable afternoon....

I have heard many wonderful things about this place. It was just OK. We went the day after it was closed due to flooding. We found the rides to be too short and the lines to be way too long. Lots of line cutting with one member of a family standing in line and then 5 other people from the family join that one person and cut the line. We had a premium Cabana in a gated area, which was nice to have to get away from the crowds. The other cabanas that were not premium did not look worth the money and were just in a weird place by the lake or river, whatever it was. I was somewhat offended by the serious search that was given to me and my family through our bags upon entering the park. Then as many other reviewers have commented, there were large families with a lot of food from outside the park. There were long lines to get food. I also felt there were not enough food options. The staff was friendly. We were able to save money by using Groupons. Don't think I will make it back here.

Dropped in around three pm and stayed until close. My daughter had a blast during our visit. She especially loved the overhead “ski lift” ride and the dive shows that they perform throughout the day. A pleasant surprise was the minimum lines for a beautiful Saturday and the pleasant staffs.
I would suggest this park for young children for most rides may not be entertaining enough for teens.

$172.00 for tickets and parking
$4.00 for a bottle of water
The water park is not large.
Some of the rides were closed.
One and done scenerio.

Loved the park. Sad that some of the rides were closed because lack of help but the rides that were open were really fun

We read the reviews about being understaffed and figured we could still have a good time. We really did have a good time. My grandkids are an almost 6 year old and a one and a half year toddler. We came prepared with the allowed water bottle per person and gluten-free snacks we needed. We will start earlier next time to allow for the slow traffic as we got close to DW. Many rides were open part of the day and lines did require some patience, as expected. The story with the diving was fantastic! The kids got on plenty of rides were super happy and tired by 4 o'clock. We are ready to go back again next year.

This will probably be the last time visiting..it was a last minute decision! My boys like amusement parks and they are at the age where this park has outgrown them! My 8 year old had a blast though! However, staff wasn’t friendly with the exception of the girl who operated the monorail! Some were very slow and unmotivated! I would say have a nice day and would barely get a response, from the ride operators to the food staff! It wasn’t an overly busy day either..no waiting in lines or overcrowding of food areas?! Not sure if it is a nice place to work?! But the experience was less than fun! The food is one of the more expensive parks! A tiny cup of Mac and cheese for my son was 5 bucks and I mean tiny!! Better off going to knoebels!

I’ve been here twice - most recently with my toddlers ages 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. I love that there are plenty of rides for them and cute shows that are put on. I have three dislikes- that it costs so much for tickets, that the food costs so much and was pretty awful (cold piece of pizza that looked as if it had been sitting out all day), and that they aren’t open during the week past Labor Day. I had planned to take my kids on a Friday, not realizing they are only open on the weekends in September. But the kids love it and we will be back

This is an old theme park geared towards kids. We traveled with a 5yo and twin 2.5yo so it was expensive. For the price, it was great for a one-time visit, but as a mother who only rode like 2 rides but had to pay admission because of the kids....meh. There are no fans while waiting in lines, just keep that in mind if you go in the heat of the Summer. Also, most buttons on the rides don't work (unsure what they use to do, but now just for looks- an operator told me they use to work so I know they are old). We live near Dollywood and have season passes there so this was a comparison visit. (Dolly does it right...fans and AC everywhere.) It was crowded in the middle of the day, but we only had to wait a long time on one ride - the boat ride on Exploration Island. I'm unsure how many boats were running but there was an extra one just sitting there, with people lined up to the end of the allotted line space. Several rides could have run more efficiently overall, as it is geared towards children with less patience than adults. Again, please see Dollywood as a reference! They did have some pretty unique rides that the kids were able to ride several times. We felt like we hit everything they wanted to do at least once and my husband even got to ride the big coasters. The park was only open for 8h but we did it in about 7 and felt unrushed. "Have a Dutch Wonderful day!"

Dutch Wonderland is such a great park for young kids. A park just for them with, rides, game , and shows geared for children. We love it and will be back in August.

This one is doable...not too large and so nicely themed. Make this one a must for your Lancaster trip if you have children! Our five were fascinated and loved spending the day here! It was surprisingly entertaining for the adults in our party too!

We visited with a 5 year old and an 11 year old and they loved it! They never have been but I came as a child! It's the perfect size park and they had a lot of ride options for younger kids! Awesome time! Glad it is still around

This was our first visit to the park. We are a family of four and found the prices very reasonable. The park is very clean and well maintained. Every time I went to the bathroom they looked freshly cleaned. The staff was very knowledgeable and very polite! The wasn't any waits on any of the lines at all. This was perfect for my 3 and 8 year olds. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the park. Perfect for my childrens age group.

Tried to enjoy a day at DW, in which we have every summer for the past 12 years. First ride we walk up to, the attendant said it was closed because he was waiting to get trained on operating it. That was not the only ride in that situation. Sporadically, rides were closed. Such as, the swings were open around 11 o’clock but then closed at 2 o’clock. The waterpark had many things blocked off for no use including the 2 large water slides. I was told that was listed on their webpage, but that was not the case for all the rides that were closed. Also, be prepared for major mask enforcement. They are extremely strict with wearing a mask at all times unless in the water and or eating. My children were required to wear their masks during every single ride. No exceptions. And that included even when no one else was on the ride. DW has been a favorite amusement park for each of my little ones. We will not be going back.

We have been coming to Dutch Wonderland for 4 years and it never disappoints! It's a very clean park. There are many options for food and drink. There is an ample amount of benches around the park to sit. Even when the park is pretty full the lines for rides are never ridiculous. We love the diving show! There are plenty of rides for all age groups!

Too many attractions have disappeared including the character actors that are promoted, such as Princess Brooke. Many buildings closed no longer operational. Diving show, The Flute, introduces a princess whaling a whip, with a poor story line and group of characters. A lot of cost for little delivered!

It was a lot of fun and the roller coaster was a blast! It's a great place to go for a few days with a younger child. They let you go in and out of the park if necessary.

First time visit with 5 and 6 year olds. Parking is easy, but expensive. I would walk over from your hotel if you're staying close enough! The park was very nice. The wait times were not more than 10 minutes for any ride. Helpful staff. No teenage shenanigans! Didn't do the Waterpark, but it looked like fun. Get tix online to avoid lines. Also, take advantage of the preview offer the night before your tix, if possible.

WE took our 2 yr old granddaughter here and we loved it. We have been to several amusement parks and this one had some different rides that we havent seen before which was nice. She loved the slides and they have pony rides at an extra charge that she loved as well. She also loved the train and the whip! It was really hot when we went the trees and stuff helped some but we went over to the waterpark and got cooled off. Its small but did the job, it has 2 waterslides and then 3 kiddie areas all connected that has different things to do and water shooting out and a few little waterslides. Overall this was a nice park and we would go back. We didnt get to see any shows unfortunately, she loved seeing the dragon walking around and got to see the princess. They allow you to come in the night before your supposed to go for a 3 hour preview which is nice to. The only complaint would be there is no tent or shade going into the park and they have a security officer looking through bags and some of the employees werent very friendly.

We are DW first timers, to be fair we came to Lancaster a few times with family pre kids- but never did the park . My 3 yo loves amusement rides so she was really excited to go , we stayed next door at Cartoon Network hotel as well. Arrived Monday , DW on Tuesday , nows the fun part : DW tickets (bogo) $133 / preferred parking $25 , number of rides that my kid could get on that weren’t closed : 3 . I’m . Not . Kidding
We spent almost 5 hours running in circles trying to find an open ride in her size category that didn’t have a Disney sized line in front of it. My kid cried on every line we waited on bc it was so long considering the ages of the kids that would be waiting for that ride, and the reason ? Understaffed ,so the few rides that are open had ridiculous lines . So basically a colossal waste of time and money considering we only stayed at Cartoon Network( their affiliate hotel) to be close to the park . DW is geared toward small children so if a 3 yo and a 1 yo can’t do anything when they get there then why even bother to come? By the time we would even consider to come back here (we wont) my kids will age out of the place and I could just got to Hershey . They shouldn’t open the park if it’s not really operational , not fair to take ppls $ especially now with inflation being what it is , everyone is getting less for their buck so when a family decides what to do with their free time and money you tend to feel ripped off and cheated to be subjected to this nonsense . Btw I spoke to a guest services employee , and she said they were never open on Tuesday normally but corporate wanted them to so they opened knowing they were severely understaffed - greedy greedy greedy !

We went 8-29 and it was such a bad experience. nearly 70% of the park was closed. Duke lagoon closed. The rides that were open were mostly toddler rides for the little kids. The other rides the lines were so horribly long because it was packed and nothing was really opened. The only food place Open was pretzel place. We left after being there for 2 hours. a hour of the 2 we were waiting in line. guess everyone thought with the kids back in school it would be empty lol. If you cant open up even 50% of your park you shouldnt open at all !

We’ve visited 4 times now and love it for our kids aged 2-12. Great park for that age. They added a second roller coaster and improved some of the rides. Go early and beat the crowds to the flume and cars. If you plan on buying even two pics from the 4 or 5 picture taking rides it makes sense to just get the all day photo pass and let the kids get all their pictures digitally. We always go when park opens and in two hours have done all the coasters and long-line rides multiple times before the crowd really shows up.

This is our 4th year visiting this park. It’s perfect for kids age 12 and under. Perfect size- entire park is doable in 1 day. Lots of places to sit and rest in the shade. Lots of food options. Bathrooms are clean and air conditioned. There is a variety of rides which make it fun and enjoyable for kids and adults of all ages. This will continue to be an annual summer tradition.

Wonderful place for family with children and not too overwhelming. You will find a great picnic area with a stream and ducks to feed.

We visited June 2022. We had 5 children ages 8 & under. It started out ok with fun carnival type rides for ages 5 and under. There were quite a few rides that were not open. I’m assuming due to staffing. There was only one roller coaster that was actually open. We went to take the older kids to ride the roller coaster. It was our turn to get on, but we were told they had to close due to wind. It wasn’t super windy, but I won’t argue with safety when it comes to roller coasters. The issue is that everything closed, even the carousel…due to wind. The wind was actually a slight breeze to where the leaves on the trees barely moved. The roller coaster, fine. But the carousel and small kiddie rides…please! We spoke with guest services, and they were less than helpful. We will not be back, and I would encourage anyone interested in this park to reconsider. We loved Hershey Park!

Amazing place for toddlers! Our ~3yr old loves this over Sesame Place! He had an amazing time on the rides, where many are age appropriate. We found the height/color coding to be very helpful.
The park isn't too big, nor too small. The train and the monorail were perfect for our little guy to enjoy. Lines were pretty short compared to the bigger amusement parks, allowing our LO to jump right back on if he wanted to.
Water park is perfect for toddlers as there are no deep sections. Essentially just a giant splash area with slides, water cannons, and other various bits.
Will definitely revisit!

We had been to Hershey Park in July on a Saturday and it was awful.. long lines, but much shade, and expensive. Came to Dutch Wonderland in September on a Saturday and had a great time! Short lines, reasonable prices, friendly people. Will be back!

Two grandparents and a 7 year old - a recipe for one GREAT day! We went on a Thursday - were going to go the day before and I'm glad we didn't because the downpour from the previous night closed the park. Our weather was glorious and just warm enough to please. Many rides and attractions for the 7 year old; she even got Pops to ride the big wooden coaster (which, we agreed, was a bit more than we bargained for!) For lunch, Nathan's hot dogs and cheese fries both of which were surprisingly yummy!
Always a great time and, a note, If you're a veteran, show your so noted driver's license, bring a DD214 or other documentation and get a reduced entrance rate for everyone in your party ($92.00 less in our case - veteran/senior.)
We did bring bottled water into the park in a backpack without incident or being questioned. The inspection folks are very forgiving in that regard. We bought our tickets at the gate at 10:30 AM with about a 5 minute wait . A great day trip for all.....

We had a great day at Dutch Wonderland! Our boys are four and two years old and they had an awesome day going rides and watching some of the shows at the park. Highly recommend the frog and prince show. Very entertaining but you might get wet if you sit in the front rows. There are rides for young kids to go on alone and with an adult. We will definitely be visiting again!!

We traveled to PA to visit Hershey and Dutch Wonderland, and unfortunately were disappointed with Dutch Wonderland.
Overall it felt very dated, had limited food options, and worst of all inefficient staff/stands/rides that caused long lines. Considering the park is catered to young children I feel it’s important to keep things moving as good as possible, but that was not the case. Many of the rides were also closed which was frustrating. Bathrooms did not appear or smell clean, especially important when changing toddlers.
Prices from park entrance to parking to food were very high considering what you get for your money.
Unfortunately we would visit Dutch Wonderland again based on our overall experience.

Today was a disappointing day at Dutch Wonderland. Due to the lack of employees, about 1/3 of the rides were closed. We waited in line forever for the Bumper Cars. Partly due to the fact that one about 5 fathers kept taking turns with their three or four young children. Plus, people kept jumping in line by going through a different gate. The diving show was very entertaining and lots of fun. Plus, the water park was a great place for the kids to play.

Writing this review a week after visiting beautiful Dutch Wonderland...we visited under different circumstances due to dealing with COVID-19. We were prepared for an experience that would feel different but we knew this and we were still excited to share a fun day with our 6 year old granddaughter. So, so glad that we went - it was a fantastic experience!
Ordered our tickets, parking pass and souvenir cup, online (the cup is a MUST - refilled throughout the day- WELL worth it!) Arrived just after the park opened (right now, hours are 10am-6pm) and literally walked through the entrance with no wait at all. The necessary pre-cautions are taken (temp/bag inspection) but this moved swiftly (side note - yes, the mask wearing was annoying - it was warm - but we complied and it was fine. You have plenty of opportunities throughout the day when you can take a break from this (sipping a cold drink, eating a meal/snack, etc.)
There was a list of rides that were not in operation for the day. This did not affect us at all but for other visitors, it may. It is clear that the park is operating with less staff than normal so this becomes the "domino effect". A number of "booths" were not in operation either in addition to the rides BUT there were plenty of other options available.
The park is clean and well-appointed. Everyone was very friendly. We literally walked on to most all of the rides. The only wait time that we had was at Exploration Island (a newer area) for the Gondola Cruise (maybe 15 min? - not bad at all). This particular area was a really nice place to bring our little one. The dinosaur area is really well done and it is shaded. Great place for a break and exploration.
This was our first time to Dutch Wonderland and would highly recommend for families with younger children - a great place to visit BEFORE graduating to larger parks in the area. Don't miss this memory making experience!

Can’t go to Hershey? This is the place for smaller children to have fun. Lots to do and explore. Not the high price of Hershey Park.

Went for the Christmas theme and decorations. I got a great price on the pre-opening sale with a special ticket price; otherwise the theme parks are just becoming too expensive for the average family. The ticket prices are nearly the same as summer season, with fewer rides operating.
Food was expensive, but I will say the portions at Potato Patch were generous and the fresh cut fries were the best I’ve had in a while. Overall, my grandsons enjoyed the visit and we made good memories.

Returned to DW yesterday with my 12 year old, just for the day. Crowds were very light on a Sunday and the weather was clear, sunny and warm. We had a blast! The Merlin's Mayhem coaster, while short, is certainly fun for any age. We haven't been to DW in a few years and remembered how much fun we could have at this amusement park. The diving shows were still fun and we were able to ride the Kingdom Coaster 7 times in a row because there was no line. This park is fantastic for those with kids ages 2-12. Plenty of rides, entertainment and places to have a seat and rest for a few minutes. We even ventured into Duke's Lagoon (waterpark) for a few hours, to have fun and cool off. Just a wonderful father and son day at Dutch Wonderland.

We took our grandkids to this park and it is wonderful! It caters to younger children, so there are many rides they can go on, some by themselves and some with an adult. Our 7 and 5 year old loved it! The food is quite good...name brand vendors (Nathan’s hot dogs, Auntie Ann’s pretzels, Rita’s ice cream, etc...). There is a fun water park with fountains and places to cool off after a day of rides. This was our second visit.

We looked forward to our trip to Dutch Wonderland for months. We stayed at the Eden Resorts (awesome btw) and drove to DW for a 10 am arrival. We sat in over 30 minutes of traffic, just to get into the parking lot. Once in the line for parking, we realized that there were dozens of cars which cut through the Cartoon Network Hotel parking lot and added to the massive congestion. So, if you want to take advantage of that, you should.
Once in the park, they were short handed at multiple locations. We went to the splash area, where there are 12 tables for hundreds of people to fight over. There were old people, cooking in the hot sun, lined up on the walkways in order to find some sort of respite. I walked my toddler up one of the splash zone slides, only to find one closed because they were short staffed. After standing in line, I realized that the wait was caused by droves of kids that raced up past us on line and cut in at the top. I normally don't say anything but I mentioned it to the attendant and she shrugged her shoulders and laughed.
Every single aspect of our time was met with delays, frustration and disappointment. I took my kids back to Eden by 1:30, where they had a much better time. I wish I had not wasted all of my money at Dutch Wonderland. I will never, ever visit this park again.

It was our 2nd visit , last one was 6 years ago. It was pretty cold out and half of the park was closed off. It got very small and very tiring too fast- for the price you pay for it, it does not worth the cost. My little one had fun, but they would have just as much fun in the same size parks for half the price

What happened to this place? I have been traveling to Dutch wonderland since being a small child and returned yesterday with my grandson and great nephew. We purchased tickets online to save alittle money. We were all very excited to go. We arrived right at opening and pulled in and immediately they wanted 27.50 for handicapped parking. It said handicap/preferred so we assumed since we have handicap tags for my wife they didn’t mean us. Nope wrong they said anyone in the front lot has to pay. Ok it is what it is. We get inside and instead of using a one day ticket we were going to upgrade our tickets to passes. Still alittle expensive but we knew we would probably be back and that way we would just use our passes and get 4 free tickets and use 2 for the kids. Nope they wouldn’t do it. They said we had to use the tickets and then upgrade at the end of the day. We just walked away because that would cost us 260.00 and it’s almost July. We walked in got on a couple rides and around 1 my wife’s knees started to bother her. (Knee replacement). She said she would like to get a buggy to ride in. We walked up front to get one. They charged us 50.00! 50.00 for all day seems ridiculous but 50.00 for 5 hours is highway robbery. We had to pay it because she needed it. She tried to keep up like a champ but it became too much. That is 80.00 extra for being handicapped. Seems alittle unfair honestly. Food prices are thru the roof. 30.00 for 2 skinny icees, 40.00 for 6 chicken tenders and a small bucket of fries, 15.00 for a beer, 6.00 for a soda. As much as the kids, my wife and I enjoyed ourselves, we won’t be back. If I’m being honest, we can’t afford to go back. After paying for the gas in our vehicle and the costs we endured coming from MD, that trip to Dutch wonderland cost us alittle over 500.00. We didn’t splurge. We wouldn’t even allow the kids to play games and or grab a souvenir. Not that we didn’t want too because we did but I never in a million years thought we’d drop 500.00 on a trip to Dutch wonderland for one day. I just wish they would lower prices some so all families can enjoy a day at the park. Sure I could’ve brought our own food in a cooler but we wanted the kids to have the whole day inside the park making memories. Now I know why many of the rides had no wait. It just makes this mom moms heart hurt alittle for realizing it was going to be my first and my last trip with them to a park that I have enjoyed since being a small child.

Clean park with fun rides for ages 3-9. Staff not as friendly as Storybook Land (Egg Harbor, NJ) or other theme parks. Concessions on the expensive side. Water park area could have been a little cleaner.

Dad, Mom and girls, ages 5.5 and 2.5, had such a nice time today. Was so glad we chose DW so the little one would have plenty of rides to ride. Both of them are thrill seekers and the rides are just right for them. And a definite highlight was being able to leave at nap time and come back. So easy in and easy out. Yes it was hot, but there was shade everywhere. The refillable souvenir cup keeps dehydration at bay for <$7 per person all day.

We are season pass holders now for the 3rd year and we have loved Dutch Wonderland. However this year was the first year we visited Winter Wonderland. It was super beautiful, the lights were amazing, the pictures with Santa were beautiful and well priced, we were generally pleased with our visit.
Near the bridge to the dinosaur area, I was SUPER excited to find a S'More area set up. Despite the fact that hubby doesn't eat S'Mores and we only have one child, we decided to get the $10 family four pack of S'More kits. Of our four kits, only one contained mostly unbroken crackers. Of the 3 other kits, 2 had crackers too destroyed to make a S'More and of the other one we were able to make a Graham cracker puzzle enough to make something that closely resembled a S'More. If I had needed all four kits, I would have had some super disappointed kiddos. Great idea, poorly executed, essentially paid $10 to get 1.5 S'Mores, was pretty disappointed.
Other than the S'More thing though it was cute. Might add pictures with Santa to our list of traditions, will probably skip the park visit

Awesome, clean, love that you have to sanitize before and after riding! Went on July 29th... know that was the day of the woman and the police but you know what she is lying! My wife and Daughter and I were all there! All the rides were great and he staff was really friendly. They allowed me to put my daughter on and take her off every ride! They were very accommodating! Park was very clean and it showed! Great time all around.
Now a little PSA......EVERYONE had a MaSK on including my daughter and EVERY CHILD over 3! The only area where they are not necessary is Dukes Lagoon since it’s a pool and water area! Reading all this nonsense about your plastic mask. I saw your “plastic” whatever it was and that’s not a mask. Once again if you suffer all of these ailments, WHY THE HELL are you there?!? How can you wear a plastic thing over your face but not a cloth, medical or n95 mask? Who the hell wears a plastic shield in 90 degree heat! Who goes to a public place in 90 degree heat with a heart condition high blood pressure and anxiety during a pandemic and claims they can’t wear a mask? Every time I passed you all I ever heard was you getting loud and yelling at the workers, they weren’t yelling! You are are anti mask wearing person and I felt bad for your husband and kids, the look on his face said it all, if you had all these ailments I doubt he would have been as calm as he was! Your kids lost out on Wednesday miss not you! If you go on tv or anything about this I will gladly call those networks and speak directly against what you went through!

Not a big place, but it is great for toddlers and young kids. Not overrun with teens so it really lets the littles enjoy themselves without being intimidated by bigger kids. A nice day for grandparents spoiling their grandkids

Nice amusement park. Had more big rides than I expected, so good for a range of ages.
Not so huge it’s overwhelming but plenty to do. We didn’t get to one section at all.
Food is mediocre is the one downside.

This place was absolutely fabulous. I went here as a child many many many years ago. This was a place that I always wanted to go back with my children. Never did, but went back today and I was so, so, so happy to be there. Altho many things have been replaced with newer modern things. The cow and the horse and buggy were still there. Along with some other things as well.. we did not make any of the shows, but we got to go on all the rides and again and again. we got to stay on several times until there was a line. This is definitely an ideal place for babies on up. Tho there were lots of teens. Most people go to Hersheypark.... Which we did yesterday. I thought Hersheypark was way overboard. Lots of adult and teen rides. With kiddie rides scattered throughout. For me, I think the park is big enough that they should have rides by ages/height. Way too much walking just to get to a ride for their height. Dutch Wonderland, was nice and small that it didn't feel like you were walking forever. I would come back here again and again. The waterpark section was doable, but for kids older than 7 it was not fun. They have 4 sections by ages, but there were WAY TOO MANY babies and toddlers in the 8 and above section. As well as the 4 to 8. No one patrolled this to keep the little ones out. So that was very frustrating. The staff were all wonderful, friendly, young kids to older and all so nice and not the least bit carnivally..... Where you can tell it's a job. They were all wonderful at Dutch Wonderland. We didn't eat other than the pretzels. Can't comment on food. Bathrooms were a plenty and nicely spread out. Our day was shortened by the rain, but we were only going to stay another hour anyway. Summer 10 to 6. We definitely could have stayed ALL DAY. We were never exhausted like we were at Hersheypark. Rides were great. But all small. For example, we did the bumper cars 5x before a line formed. In these cases they should really let you ride until the line forms. There may be a reason why you have to stop, but when they know they should stop it, let you stay on and go again. Same for the roller coasters. Etc. mayhem is a 30 to 35 sec roller coaster. They should let you go 2x before stopping it. Again, I don't know if there is a reason or not. Other than the toddler rides, we got to do all rides at least 3x each. The water slides (black . No light). And blue ( you can see, hot water or heated... My favorite) were great. Not to high, and not too long to wait. Although they. Really should have 2 workers per slide instead of one. I feel like they are working way too hard running back and forth when you could easily have 2 guys at the top and 2 at the bottom. Hills were horrible at all. Rental strollers ( double only) were great. Same kind at Hersheypark. ( They also rent wheelchairs and electric scooters. ). All three, not a lot and you do rent by a qt code so no one is there giving them to you. Security had to tell us what to do. I can't stress enough, how relaxing this park was after the stressful day at Hersheypark. What a pleasure. THANK YOU DUTCH WONDERLAND. oh ... And cashless like Hersheypark. Parking in either lot is fine. We did the preferred, but again the general. Would be just fine too. Campers and cartoon hotel let you go to the park at 9am and ride the rides. That's an awesome perk. We did not stay at either.

I was pleasantly surprised at how many family rides are available. Definitely should be considered a family park rather than a kids park. The Monorail provides excellent views of the park and parking lot while the Sky Ride goes right over the center of the park. Gondola Cruise provides a relaxing ride around Exploration Island while Dragon's Lair takes you around a lake and a small tunnel, definitely two unique experiences. Kingdom Coaster is more forceful than it looks. The Wonder House gives the illusion you're flipping upside down, definitely an interesting experience. Prehistoric Path is definitely aimed at children.

Very long lines. When we went in August 2022 over 1/3 of the rides were not operating due to lack of staff. This caused the rest of the rides to be overloaded with people.
Their tickets don’t have specific dates so they have no way of limiting the number of people who come in any given day.
Parking fees have been raised to $20 and $25 per car.
Even with a $65 admission ticket, there are some attractions and booths that require additional payments.
Overall a very expensive park with long lines

After 40 years, my family and I continue to make Dutch Wonderland a traditional stop on our annual Lancaster vacation. Although the park has many unique rides, it’s more about the total experience provided to guests. Regardless of age, it’s a family oriented park that offers all visitors a fun time. There is just enough rides and attractions to make the day complete.
Without question, our favorite part of the park is the diving show. Whatever the theme of the hour, these incredibly talented actors and divers provide TOP NOTCH ENTERTAINMENT! They put their whole heart into each and every performance. They know children look up to them and really make sure they live up to their expectations. Every person feels welcome and excited to be there. Please let your cast know how much enjoyment they provide their visitors. Their shows are a major highlight of our entire trip. We enjoy so many laughs and smiles by being there. Even if we do nothing else in the park, the price of the ticket is worth each performance.
Thank you for so many years of memories with my family. Even though we are older now, we still enjoy visiting your park. It holds a very special place in our hearts.

The kids ages 7,5,2.5 had such a fun time from 10am-6pm. Several breaks (snacks and water) in a breezy shaded spot and inside a air conditioned eatery’s made for an almost tear free day. The rides were great excitement for all ages. The longest lines were the gondola cruise on exploration island and the double splash flume.

We just traveled to Dutch with our 7 & 10 year old girls. Our girls are not big ride people like their Mommy. They like small rides so that is why we picked Dutch over other theme parks. Even though it was sweltering hot we had such a great day! We were there from 11:30-6. The girls went on most of the rides in the park. Unfortunately a few were closed and we think it was due to being short staffed on the extremely hot day. The water/splash park was a big hit. It was very crowded due to the hot day but fine. Seeing it was so hot many of the rides had no lines at all, which was great. There are many food/snack items around the park so we were able to buy lots of cold water wherever we went and ice cream/ices. The dive show was excellent and a great way to cool off. My girls said they definitely want to go back next year and feel they will not be "too big" for Dutch, which I was happy to hear.

Today is our first trip to the park. We have been in the car for 1.5 hours waiting to get in and we have only moved one block length. Probably another hour till in. How do they not have parking figured out!!!!!

This is a great place to take your children to. My granddaughter loved it. Food was expensive but you can always bring your own or go over to the restaurants across the street. They do have some adult rides but, mostly kid friendly. Great place ..

DW is definitely worth a visit. Employees are very friendly, park is exceptionally clean, lines very manageable and great selection of rides for kids. Keep in mind park is totally cashless and midway games are expensive and a ripoff for what you get (prizes). Food as in most parks is expensive and the food we had chicken fingers and fries were meh. Chicken good fries were a bucket of undercooked greasy potatoes. Yet the Potato Patch gets good reviews? Don’t let this from stopping you from visit this park.

loved the Christmas lights they had in December. it was a nice train ride to see all of the park. would recommend this for families to do.

We went with our one year and three year old granddaughters. The park has everything for this age group. There is entertainment with shows at different times and rides for children up to 80 years old. The park is clean, staff is friendly. We arrived at opening and the lines were small, we stayed about 6 hours, longer lines and tired children. It is worth the price.

We go here at least once a year with our kids (5,2 and 1). It's a simple park and the kids always have a good time. Unfortunately, most of the park hasn't grown with modern times, which can sometimes make it frustrating. For example, lines can run slow because they are still using boarding techniques from 30+ years ago.
We enjoy their special times of year, like Halloween and Christmas.
I definitely recommend this park for anyone in the driving vicinity. I don't think you will leave feeling disappointed.

Wouldn’t recommend going until 1030 let the line in clear up a bit but after that it’s not crowded at all! Shows are available throughout the day and change and are fun to watch. We never waited long for anything. My 3 yr old could ride most things and my teen loved lots of things and my Hudson who is 220 lbs could even ride things !

Worth a visit if you have a younger kid. Just enough variety and size to keep your busy for most of the day. The layout is deceptively hilly though so just be mindful if you have people in your party with mobility issues.

We took my grandchild to Lanaster for two days, and we went to Dutch Wonderland our last day. Such a fabulous place! I wish I lived closer so we could make use of a season pass! The price was very reasonable, since it's all inclusive, the rides were great, and there are plenty of restaurants and food carts to please everyone. The best part, of course is the lagoon, which is a great splash park for the kids. My granddaughter absolutely loved it!! It was a perfect way to end our day at Dutch Wonderland. If you do one thing with kids in Lancaster, this is the thing to do.

My 4 and 6 year old children had a great time. The rides were perfect for their age. That said, some of the rides do need some updating and the staff needs some customer service training. As many reviews here suggest: I know working with public can be stressful but literally no one smiled or said hello or made it feel “special” for the children getting on/off rides- and I saw 4 or so employees be outright rude to some of the park visitors. I wasn’t expecting Disney level service but it was definitely a noticeable issue.

My wife and decided to make a weekend in Lancaster as we were attending another event in the area. We decided to surprise our 4 year old with a visit here because he loves amusement parks and rides. This is definitely a place to take younger children. The lines were not long, and the rides were made designed with younger children in mind. They have two big roller coasters, but even those were not very tall or long - making it a perfect "first roller coaster." There's even a small water park connected to it that's great after spending the day in the park. We'll definitely come back once our second child is old enough to enjoy it as well.

This park has a variety of rides and shows, including a water park. Evening is a good time to be there because the lines aren't so long. The park keeps everything updated and new rides are added. They keep it beautiful with lots of flowers. As a local, I enjoy the little "history" diplays of items from the past. This park is especially great for young children but there are rides for older children, as well.

great for smaller kids lines were a bit long but splash park was the best part for the 4, 5 and 7 year olds

I vaguely remember going to Dutch Wonderland as a kid (in the 80s) and I had been wanting to take my kids for a while. The best thing is the park is oriented toward younger kids. Both of my kids, 5 and 7, were able to ride every ride. Some of the rides my 5 year old needed to have an adult with her, but there was not a single ride off limits to her. Also, the rides are all very close together and the lines were very quick. I think the longest we waited was 15 minutes at the log flume. Most rides we showed up and were on the ride within 5 minutes or less.

I went there with my family for one day and didn't have the to do it all there is so much to do there.. it's a great place

We went to Dutch Wonderland this past Sunday. It was not as crowded as it normally is later in the summer. Which was wonderful. Lines to all the rides moved quickly. Basically no lines for the restroom.
The park is smaller than some of the others but is great for young children. Our grandson just turned 5 years. He was able to ride many rides alone or with sibling, play the carnival type games and enjoy the evening in the water park. He really enjoyed his visit to the dinosaurs.
The monorail is a treat for people that need to see the whole park from a seated position.
Let them get a pony ride. The girls were very helpful getting the children on and off the ponies
One to give a very high recommendation to the young man at the front gate( didnt get his name) that worked from 2 -8pm. He was attentive, alert, joyous to communicate and assist. He is an remarkable employee that should be recognized. Sorry about the name.
Yes would recommend this place. A short drive from Baltimore. Parking is reasonable. If you dont like walking from the back of parking lots, arrive early and pay extra for reserved parking ( near the castle entrance)

A few summers ago my wife and I visited 3 Amusement Parks in Pennsylvania with her Godchild and her parents. Dutch Wonderland was the best of the three including Hershey and Knoebels. Wonderful layout and rides suited for young children as well as some that an adult can enjoy with a child. Live shows, appropriate for young children also add to the charm of this park.

My family went on a Saturday. My grandsons 3&5 had a great time. The Santa that night was great. He took time with the boys unlike mall Santa’s.

We have been taking our kinds and now grandkids here for the past 25 years. The park is geared for infants up to about 12 -13 (they then graduate to Hershey Park) The park is immaculately kept and in 3 hours you can do most of the major rides. One of the highlights is the diving show and after 25 years we still enjoy the performance. There is also a water park which is again sized to the little ones.
Always a great experience!!!

Good mix of low and intensity rides for families with kids. I would recommend NOT to go in July. It was beastly hot. However, it was still a really good time.

This was a great place to take the family. We had a blast. Good fun rides, short lines, great workers, and food wasn't too expensive. Would love to visit again.

This was our first visit, but it won't be our last although we are 3 hours away. So, for very-far-out-of-towners this is not a one-day trip - we stayed overnight and visited other places the next day. For us the experience was worth it. It is a lovely park for young kids (up to maybe 10-12). Nicely laid out; well maintained, with plenty of rides for our 6 yr old granddaughter to enjoy. We were here for an October Happy Haunting weekend, so less crowded than it probably is in summer. Overall a really nice experience.

Continues to be a must visit annual event. Love the investments being made, the new roller coaster is great. The best part is that all but one ride caters to 4 and over.

This was not my first time at Dutch wonderland but I will never be back again. First of all, we arrived to discover a draconian bag policy that I have never experienced at any other location in my life. We have been to many theme parks and are season tickets holders for several of our local teams so we are very well versed in the increasingly restrictive bag policies. But this was beyond. They did not allow us to bring in a single backpack despite having a special needs child with medical needs. When we tried to explain this, we were asked inappropriate and invasive questions about the nature of our medical needs. For a stupid kiddie ride park! WTF. Meanwhile people were wheeling in with full on wagons full of crap…but my backpack was not allowed.
We got there at opening and the lines were empty, but the wait times were still excessive because the load time for each ride was inordinately long. It was an awkward park for the range of my party’s kids’ ages ranging from 2-10 as the 2 year old was strangely too little for most of them but the 10 year old was too old. The food was, and I cannot emphasize this enough, terrible. The fruit they were selling was straight up rotten. They do not have enough staff working for either the rides or the concessions. By the time we finished lunch it was around 1pm and the park had gotten crowded. Well since they could barely handle empty crowds I don’t even know what they do when there are actual lines. I had no interest in finding out. We left. Good bye Dutch wonderland.

Half the attractions closed. My family, along with many other families, stood in line for 40 minutes for the monorail only to be told as we arrived at the front that the ride is closed. No explanation. Just “sorry”. What a joke. Crying toddlers who waited forever to go on the ride. We won’t spend a dime here.
This place has gone downhill. Employees are clueless. Too bad—this was a great place when I was a kid—-before the adults running this second-rate place ruined it

We are season pass holders at Dutch Wonderland. Having worked at an amusement park for many years in my younger days, and visited many large parks, DW is below average in terms of quality. Much of the park and its attractions are dated, some rides are in serious need of upgrade, and internal mechanics are showing on animatronics (Dinosaurs on Exploration Island and Dragon's Lair boat ride). There are several places where a ride used to be located and hasn't been replaced, and other wasted spaces, closed games, and outdated attractions that would be better off as rides.
Prices are high for what you get (especially food) and, like most amusement parks, it seems like every year you pay more to get less. In 2020, the park starting closing earlier due to COVID and staffing shortages, which was understandable, but three years later and operating hours have not returned to pre-pandemic hours. In 2023, the closing time was pushed to 7:00 p.m. (6:00 p.m. in 2022), but the opening time was also pushed from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Not an ideal opening time when a lot of attendees need an afternoon nap.
DW also implemented a bag policy this year. They do not provide towels in the waterpark, but also don't allow bags big enough to accommodate a family's worth of towels, swimsuits and change of clothes. My impression is that the bag policy was implemented due to very long bag check lines at the entrance, as opposed to safety concerns, and it hasn't gone over well with guests.
All that being said, it's still a great little park for families with younger children. You can get through the entire ride section of the park in about two-three hours. Having grown up going to Hersheypark, where the kiddie rides are scattered throughout the park and there is a LOT of walking (and hills), DW is much more kid friendly in terms of layout and how much you can cover in a short amount of time with younger kids who aren't going to last for a full day.
Since we're local, we usually don't make an entire day of it unless its a special day with other family members. We mostly stick to weekend mornings or late evenings for the main part of the park, and the occasional late afternoon if we just want to hit the water park. When the park opened at 10:00, I could take my toddler for 2.5 hours on Saturday/Sunday morning, hit all the rides he wanted to ride, grab lunch on the way home, and be home in time for nap. That has changed a bit with the later start time, which means we spend about 30 minutes eating lunch and are there for 3-3.5 hours on a weekend day (if we aren't doing the water park). Best time to go for rides is 4:00-7:00 p.m., because most people are in the water park in the afternoon or have left early.
Lines are generally short and, on most days, there is very little waiting in line except for one or two popular rides. Even when the park is busy, wait times are nothing compared to larger parks. If there is no line at all, ride attendants will often let kids stay on for another ride. Getting kids on/off rides moves pretty quickly because attendants allow parents to handle it.
Most of the issues outlined in this review are things that parents notice, not kids. The quality issues bug me because I'm the one paying for the season passes and food. My kid doesn't care. He loves the park, LOVES Duke's Lagoon, and even enjoys most of the very corny shows. Overall, the park does a good job of catering younger kids, and is a great experience for kids 2-8. There are opportunities for shared moments where kids can ride with parents, and opportunities for independence on rides that are kid-only. I think kids 10 and older would prefer a more typical amusement park experience with more adult rides.
A few other practical notes:
FOOD: The refillable souvenir cup is 100% worth it, even if you are just there for the day/weekend. We get ours refilled multiple times throughout the day (as well as the popcorn tub). If you have prior year's souvenir cup, you can refill it without anyone noticing at the Mill Stream Eatery, where you serve your own soda. Otherwise, prior year cups are limited to water.
BAGS/TOWELS: Diaper bags are an exception to the bag size limitation. Use your diaper bag as a backpack (but make sure there's at least a couple of diapers in there. My kid hasn't used a stroller in ages, but when we go with a larger group, we take the stroller solely to carry everything we want to take (and get around the bag policy).
LAGOON: No big surprise, but the Lagoon is busiest in the afternoon. There is an OK amount of seating, but not enough to accommodate a busy day. Many people run into the Lagoon when it opens to claim their spot. If you are there with a large group that includes toddlers and grandparents, the cabanas are very expensive, but worth it. Cabanas 7-9 are just gazebos that they plopped onto the grass. They slightly less expensive, and I think they are preferable to the nice cabanas for napping.
Despite my gripes in this review, I will still buy season passes until my kid gets too old or tells me that he doesn't want to go anymore.

We have been visiting Dutch a wonderland for 9 years since my daughter was 3 years old. It’s a smaller park and definitely doable in one day. This year we thought our girls would (daughter and a niece) would be done and not enjoy it but we gave it a chance. I think they really enjoy the diving shows the most but also enjoy going on the rides as well. We let them roam free with Check-ins which I probably wouldn’t feel as comfortable doing at Hershey Park as big as that park is. It’s a great stepping stone to independence for a tween. My daughter is an only child so she is a little younger at heart than other 12 year olds.
For younger children, this is the best amusement park out there. Easy to introduce their first Big roller coaster, and almost all rides an adult can ride as well.

A friend and I made a quick stop here as part of our vacation. This is a very clean park, especially made for families. Most things are close together, and the midways can get crowded. The price is a bit high for admission, but that is usually the case. The employees were friendly for the most part. There are no big thrills here for those seeking them, but it is perfect for families with younger children. There are enough adult rides to keep the older children happy too.

Dutch Wonderland (DW) is the best family amusement park on the East Coast of the US, with the exception of Storyland in New Hampshire. DW has a wide variety of rides and shows. Some rides are only for younger children, others are aimed at older children, and some are good for the whole family. Even more impressive are the shows, esp. the one with professional divers who do Olympic-quality dives, sometimes as part of telling a story! The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is perfect for families with at least some younger children.
I only took away one star because we visited on a weekday in August (2021--during Covid), having pre-purchased tickets online, and DW was way overcrowded! We had hoped to get timed entry so we'd know they're limiting the number of guests, but there were clearly no limits as some shows were closed due to being full and some rides had insanely long lines. Storyland in NH does a better job at handling crowds. There is also more space in Storyland because the grounds are larger and different sections of the park are more clearly demarcated. I do, however, want to commend DW for not rushing guests out: the park closes at 6pm, but you could run to lines for rides at 5:59, wait 15 minutes, and still be allowed on the ride!
Aside from the one caveat, we enjoyed our time at DW, and we encourage families to visit this park, where you and your children will surely have a blast!

This is great for anyone with kids 12 and younger. My 18 month old and 5 year old both had a blast. I would highly recommend is anyone with kids to go here. We try to go every year

We had a blast at Dutch Wonderland. We have been to the sister property, Storyland in NH. Dutch Wonderland has a medieval kingdom theme. They had a few shows. We caught the high dive show. It was well done and entertaining. There is a great variety of rides. Our seven year old (46 inches) and four year old (41 inches) had a fun filled day. We enjoyed the 3 roller coasters—-wooden, steel and mini. Our kids were the perfect age and height. They were too young and short to get the most out of Hershey Park. Duke’s Lagoon provided some relief from the hot sun. There is a variety of food options—-salads, burgers, BBQ and sandwiches. Overall, it was reasonably priced and a terrific way to start our summer road trip.

I purchased over $1200 worth of tickets, the next day we raised money for 6 more and was told I could not receive the group rate causing hardship to our group leader. I am deeply disappointment and concern regarding the treatment of disadvantaged minorities during our recent visit to Dutch Wonderland on August 2, 2023. As an enthusiastic patron of your amusement park, I had expected a welcoming and inclusive experience for all visitors, regardless of their background or identity. Regrettably, our trip was marred by instances of discriminatory behavior and insensitivity, which have left a lasting negative impression on our group.
Throughout our visit, we observed several instances where members of disadvantaged minorities were subjected to unfair treatment and microaggressions. Some of the incidents that took place include:
1. Racial Profiling: We noticed that personnel seemed to disproportionately target individuals from minority backgrounds for additional screenings and bag checks. This form of profiling creates a hostile and unwelcoming atmosphere for these visitors.
2. Insensitive Language: On multiple occasions, we overheard park staff using derogatory language or stereotypical remarks while interacting with visitors who belonged to certain minority groups. This type of language is offensive and entirely unacceptable.
As a place that promotes itself as a family-friendly and inclusive amusement park, it is disheartening to witness such behavior toward disadvantaged minorities. All visitors should feel safe, respected, and valued during their time at Dutch Wonderland, and it is the responsibility of the park management to ensure that these principles are upheld.
I sincerely urge Dutch Wonderland to take immediate and tangible steps to rectify these concerns and foster a truly inclusive environment for all guests. I believe it is essential for Dutch Wonderland to make a commitment to foster an environment of respect and inclusivity for everyone. I sincerely hope that my concerns will be taken seriously and that meaningful changes will be implemented to avoid future instances of discrimination.
Failure to do so may leave us with no choice but to reconsider our association with Dutch Wonderland in the future and share our experience with our friends and family.

Fun park for littles. I’d say under 8-9 years. Bag policy is awful. No metal detectors and people can take huge strollers, coolers and bags in if they contain a diaper or you say it’s a medical bag. So be smart and pack a diaper even if not needed!! Otherwise you’ll struggle to take in what your kids need in the allowed bag. They need to upgrade to detectors like Dorney and Hershey. It was a struggle to attend with a towel etc for water park!
Food is not very good for price and they were woefully unprepared to deal with crowd late August. Many food stands closed.
Knoebels has it all over them for young kids. I wrote a letter to them with comments and never even had an acknowledgement. Granddaughter did enjoy dive show.

Our family has visited this park in both July 2018 and December 2018. We were impressed with the family oriented park and the employee friendliness. It appears clean and well maintained. My 8 and 5 year old grandchildren loved every minute! Restaurant food is a little pricey but not a deterrent to future visits.

Went there with a two and four year old. Both children loved the place. It’s very clean, staff is friendly and no really long wait for rides. Snack stands are reasonable the only complaint there is that they are really slow in spite of having ample staff. We will return it was really fun for the kids.

Family Fun on Labor Day! We’re platinum pass holders from Idlewild and thought we’d come check it out. The 7 and 4 year olds loved it! We arrived before opening and it was a breeze to get in and visit guest relations to get the tickets. We did plenty in just 3 1/2 hours including the 3 coasters. Minimal food options but we did expect that- landed at the potato Patch and that was ok. I was glad our passes included parking and we brought our mugs and those refills were included too. We will be coming back for a longer day. The 7 year old rode Merlin’s Mayham and thought it was great (better than Slinky Dog Dash lol) I disagree! but overall plenty was open and only a few rides seemed closed (slides, frogs…..) on the way out we saw people at the water park side as well.

This was our first trip to Dutch Wonderland.
4 adults (parents / grandparents) on first weekend in May 2019.
We lucked out with the weather, as it had been pouring the days before, and iffy for the Saturday. It made for what I assume is less people.
The park has a good mix of different kinds of rides - with a couple of bigger rides that kept the 9 year old from being bored. This is perfect for kids under 10. Our 9 year old had a good time but it was the 3 and 5 year old that had the best time.
Food was amazingly reasonable, however we were in need of more gluten free options. Stroller rental was very reasonable!
Of note: We are NOT coddling people - we push these kids to be adventurous.. but the Merlin roller coaster is too much for an average 3 year old. He didn't fit well enough into the seat and was jostled a bit dangerously during the ride, hurting his face. The height requirement might need to be a bit higher for this ride.
While I am not happy with the pony rides (live animals do not belong in this park) Worth the money - and we will return.
While we heard rumors of adult beverages - we were told no every-time we asked. Please consider adding this

First visit since 40 years ago - time for the grandkids to experience. Very pleasant park; well cared for & well run. Since they allow visitors staying at the Cartoon Network Hotel to enter early, we avoided the long lines at entry. Bag policy seems to be a bit confusing, as there were folks with very large tots admitted. Bring a small bag (if any), & enjoy a fun time with the kids!

This is an extremely nice and very clean amusement park. There are so many things to do here for adults and kids. I couldn't get over how clean and new looking this park was considering it's over 50yrs old. Very nice water park area. Check their website for discount tickets. And only 5 dollars to park. Well worth a season pass !!!

Went there today with my 3,5 & 8 year old children. They loved it. It was just enough stuff for everyone including the parents. We got there at 10:45 and left at 830. There were still things for us to come back to next time! We will definitely come back next year and maybe stay for 2 days next time. The water area was just enough too!

We visited on a whim and it was such a hit that we ended up staying for a second day. The wait time for most rides was quite short! Much of the park is well shaded by mature trees which was nice and unlike any other theme park I’ve been too. Our kids has an absolutely amazing time so we’ll be making more frequent trips to the area.

Had such a good time at this little park, had a lot of unique and fun rides for kids and adults alike.

Attempted to purchase tickets for Dutch Wonderland twice for April 2023. Both times said transaction was successfully but no tickets were issued. Attempted to rectify and was given the runaround. At this point, I have been charged twice for tickets I did not received. Called Customer Services several times and was told an email would be sent to a "mystery" group and they would contact me. This did not happened and this morning I was charged yet again and Customer Service hung up on me. These charges were not authorized. I requested in my emails that NOW 3 credits need to be issued and the ticket request cancelled. The 3rd charge was placed without my approval. Isn't that credit card FRAUD?

Not crowded at all
Games are close to each other
Water playground available
Suitable for kids aged from 2-10
What more you can ask for?

Our first time visiting this amusement park and we had a blast! There were rides for our more thrill seeking girls and rides for our more laid back ladies. The water park was great fun as well. The food was a bit expensive. You can bring in 2 bottles of water which I suggest you do if it is going to be a hot day. I have read other comments regarding the young staff however we found no problems with rudeness or lack of motivation.
If you have children under 10 this park is some place you should go for a fun day.

We love the landscaping and the steam train that took us around. Everything is well maintained and clean plus plenty of shade trees for those hot days

Dutch Wonderland is our family's favorite amusement park. Never a long line for the rides. Facilities are immaculately clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. My favorite ride is Merlin's Mayhem. Very fast rollercoaster with twists and turns. It really is the perfect family amusement park.

This was our first time at Dutch wonderland. Previously we went to Hershey park. While we liked Hershey, Dutch wonderland was great for our kids 10,6 and 3. It had the right amount of rides for all my kids and my daughter loved the flume ride. My kids ask all the time if we can go back. We would def go again. Older kids probably not best option but 1-12 yrs old a great place to go.

This is a nice park for young children, but they have real issues with quality of service for customers. When lines are long, it seems inappropriate to let bus loads of certain groups take over the park and buck lines of other paying customers, This seems a consistent theme for park management. Also, it seems some customers don't get off rides as they are supposed to at expense of other paying customers. This is not the way to provide fun for all especially when their price range is high for this type of park. Management needs to focus on all customers if they want all their customers to return other than certain groups$

Dutch Wonderland is the best amusement park to take your children is this area! They have so many rides and attractions for little ones and young at hears. The happy Dragon is around to greet them! This year we seen the Christmas light display and it's beautiful! Kids young and old will love it!

My 5 year old son got clipped by the door on the Mono Rail ride since the driver wanted to rush everyone on the ride so they can get off on time. It was a very scary moment as the door would not open even when my wife pulled as hard as she could. My son was crying and my wife was shaking afterwards. People stopped and asked if we were okay. My wife told the driver you need to check before closing the door and the operator just came out and gave us a smart reply back saying " I did check before closing the door". Not even a sorry. We went to management about it and all we received was a sorry we will talk with the driver and sorry it happened to you. As my day with my kids were ruined not even a discount or credit voucher. As we paid for a happy family experience I felt we did not receive that as the experience left my son crying and wife shaking. Too bad as we were regulars and we had spent over $250.00 that day. I will never go back again after that experience. It just seems like they do not care about their guests experiences.

My teenager and her friend spent the day. They had fun eventhough it is geered more towards younger kids.

We lucked out and were in the area on an especially warm Winter day, so we decided to visit and check out the Winter Wonderland experience. It was great! Many rides were open and lines were reasonable (less than 10 minute wait), park was decorated beautifully, refreshments were easily available and reasonably priced.

The water area for the children was great my granddaughter had a blast, it was very hot the day we went so I can't give this a true review. We wouldn't put our child on her appropriate rides do to the fact they where in the sun and she definitely would of gotten burned, I definitely would go back when its cooler.

Took my daughter there for her 4th birthday . 5 to 6 rides shut down , Waiting to get on a ride could be anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes I was told by a staff member it was due to staff shortages and nobody wanting to work. All day my daughter was only able to ride six rides due to long lines and oncoming thunderstorm coming in the area they close all rides down. Upon asking before we left I asked if the rides would be open again the girl told me it looks like the storms going to be around for a while and they now close the park down at six at that point in time it was 3:30. Most of the workers were walking around miserable or acted like they didn’t like their job to ask a simple question was like pulling teeth.
We will never ever ever go back totally disgusted after hearing such good stuff about this place disappointing to say the least.

The 15x15x15" bag size is ridiculous. There is no backpack that small!! How can a 3 year old carry any backpack at all. Crazy

This is a small-ish theme park but it's perfect for young kids, even as young as my 18-month olds. They were able to go on a bunch of rides even at their age (I appreciate that the park makes it clear which rides are age appropriate)! It does get very crowded but most of the lines for the baby rides moved fairly quickly (I know this because there's no way my toddlers would wait more than 10 minutes in line!). I highly recommend getting there right as the park opens otherwise you will end up having to wait to get into the park to park then wait in line to entire the park. We did not go into the water park area, which I kind of regret, as it looked like the kids were having a blast (though again, pretty crowded). I would say it's a perfect place for kids ages 2-6ish. I would come again next year when my kids are over 2 and they would enjoy it even more.

Dutch Wonderland is always I great time, especially for small children. We went when they opened, on a Sunday, and the lines weren't bad at all. We started at Dukes Lagoon to ensure we had a spot in the shade. I would skip the monorail and gondola rides on very hot days, as the wait can be long and the monorail has no air or fans, and the gondola is in the sun most the time. My daughter who is 3, enjoys all the rides. It's definitely a full day of fun.

Great amusement park, especially for families with young kids. Lots to do for all different young ages. My 7 year old was able to go on the bigger coasters, and loved it. Great starter for some of the other parks. Food was good, with lots of options. Dole whip is a must! Only downside was that for the coasters, only one was going round at a time, so even with a small crowd it took 15-20 minutes to wait.

I am so happy my daughter was able to go on her first roller coaster in the same park her dad went on his first coaster almost 26 years ago. Clean, friendly, family fun! Thank you so much Dutch wonderland for all you do for the kiddos! We will be back the end of November for your Christmas festivities! Thank you so much!

Let's see....
We went with five - 6 year olds, a four year old and a two year old
First with any ticket you purchase, you get three hours the night before. Take it. It is a great way to see the park and use the three hours to see the rides you want to and do.
When you get to the park, you can park for $5 or get the special parking for $15. Trust me, upgrade and park near the entrance. You can go in and out and you can leave food or a change of clothes in your car. Well worth it.
The water park is great. You can rent a "cabana". It is a little pricey, but if there is a group it is a god place to keep your things in one place. There is food delivery to the cabana as well. The water park has a few parts and can keep kids busy for a long time. The water slide is a lot of fun. You can easily spend three or four hours there if your kids are having fun. You will have fun also.
The rest of the park is ride after ride. There are roller coasters, slides, swings, tram over the park and more. Kids can go on rides based upon their height. Most kids 42" and above can go on rides alone. Most.
The bumper cars were so cool. We had a great amount of fun.
Most of the staff that we dealt with were typical "ride" staff. I wasn't overly impressed with most of the staff. However, they were always safe, ALWAYS. The person at the swings and the person at the kite ride checked everyone twice.
The management staff we spoke to were very engaging and helpful.
The food was okay. It is park food. Like I said, you can leave food in your car (in a cooler I hope).
The store at the entrance to the park has many items that you can get at other places. Careful with what you buy as it is all expensive.
We saw a few of the shows that they had. We enjoyed out and our kids had fun. They loved the characters and the meet and greets.
Purple Roller Coaster = Great
The kids didn't want to leave. But we did and I am definitely going back next year,.

We had a Mommy & me day last Saturday - and we had a fantastic time! It was our first time visiting Dutch Wonderland and everything went smoothly!
They had all 3 lanes open for parking, the security line went fast.
The lines were short and every staff member we were in contact with was friendly!!
The food prices are reasonable for an amusement park and we saw Merlin a few times walking through the park!! Next time we go we will catch a show. We didn't see everything or go on all the rides - and we went on A LOT. (We only stopped once for lunch!!) She knew she was the "green" (emerald) gem from the height charts they have around the park letting you know what height requirements that particular ride requires. There was also plenty of shade and benches around the park...and even by the FUN SLIDE there is a small playground area with old park rides (swan boat, whale, train) that kids can play on while you rest for a moment.
We were there from 10:15-5 PM. She was asleep within minutes of leaving! :P
We will definitely be back!!

The park is filled with rides, coasters, water park and food. This is a great place to stay the day with younger kids. Very friendly family facility.

Went with grandkids day after they closed because of flooding so it it was extra crowded place was clean great four 4- 8 year olds food was moderately priced.made statement going in that no outside food or beverage allowed in but certain groups had bags full of food WHY

I recently took my seven (almost 8) year old daughter to Dutch Wonderland and didn’t expect to love it as much as we did!
We’re a Disney family, so the bar is set high when it comes to theme park expectations. Dutch Wonderland did not disappoint!
The park has gorgeous views and landscaping. They have really cool classic rides that remind me of some of my favorite Kennywood (In Pittsburgh) memories as a kid.
There are a couple of coasters (steel and wooden) to feed any adventurous appetites.
I loved the theming! It was charming, magical, and whimsical.
We loved the gondola boat ride at sunset, and my daughter loved driving the old turnpike car! The dig site and dinosaur animatronic walk through was unique and fun.
Admittedly, I let my fifteen year old son skip the park, but I think he would have enjoyed himself just being someplace new!

Dutchwonderlands attempt at planning, implementing and enforcing covid 19 social distancing guidelines is poor at best. Before you enter the park you think they have it together. Tempature checks. Mask enforcement plenty of distance kept between park visitors. Once your in the park all that goes out the window. Your crammed in lines that recommend 6 foot spacing with the person in front of you. Yet in the corrals your standing shoulder to shoulder with the person. Next to you.
The water park was a complete mess. Hundreds of people on top of each other. Running playing eating no masks anywhere. Didn't even bring the family in that area.
Basically went on 4 kiddie ridea with no lines then left

I'll start off with the positives: The lines were a reasonable length, the staff was pleasant, and my two granddaughters, 9-1/2 and 2 years old, had a great time.
But the dive shows and the train were not running, the park looked worn and not beautifully landscaped as in years/decades past, empty areas where attractions used to be, the food quality was not good, and most frustrating was the prices.
$22 to park??
I purchased tickets online at the 39.99 Pick A Day price. Didn't go through.
Called and was told it was probably flagged as a fraudulent purchase, which is absurd as I've been using the same computer and credit card for decades.
Tried again. Didn't go through.
The third time, it did go through, but the ticket price had increased by $2/ticket!!
Called and asked for the difference to be refunded to me ($8 plus tax) and was told "there's nothing we can do."
Uh, YES, there IS! Refund me the difference that you owe me due to your system's error!
Terrible customer service. Very disappointed. Probably won't be back. So unfortunate.

The place was very crowded. Only a few food concessions were open and lines were very long to get food. Food was very expensive. Rita's was over $35.00 for 2 small and 2 kiddie items. Merlin's Pizza and Pasta Buffet was over $55.00 for 2 adults and 2 young children. The pizza and pasta were dry from being under heat lamps. The lettuce on the salad bar was brown. Only 2 tables were clean. There was food and spilled drinks on tables and the floors. The bathrooms were disgusting. No soap and no paper towels. Waited in line for 55 minutes to get on the flume which is a 5 minute ride. Bot fun for 2 young children to wait in line for every ride.

I came here with my kids because I remember going to Dutch Wonderland as a kid and wanted them to have a fun experience there as well.
We came on a Thursday and Friday during the summer and the crowds were quite manageable, I do not know what the park is like on the weekends, so keep that in mind.
Pros:
Small park, easy to navigate for even the most map reading challenged. This also means you get to ride your favorite rides a lot. More so than you could anywhere else. The exception to this are the two water rides they have. The log flume and a tunnel/tube ride have quite long lines after 11:30 am. I knew to expect this and made sure that the first thing we did were the water rides (like over & over)
Clean facilities. I was pleasantly surprised at not only the grounds upkeep and outside dining tables, but also the restrooms. It is HARD to keep amusement park restrooms clean throughout the day, but DW pulls this off with ease.
Rides for every age. I knew going in that this place wasn’t for “roller coaster aficionados” and that’s exactly what I was going for. My 9 year old wants to love roller coasters but once he sees them in person, is usually intimidated and backs out. DW’s roller coasters were a great intro that type of ride. *Just* scary enough to be called a roller coaster, but not enough to make you mess your pants or have a panic attack.
You can bring in your own food. We didn’t do this bc we were staying at the Cartoon Network Motel, but is a great option/perk.
Cons:
Small park. (Lol). I’m sure most people know exactly what DW is and what to expect. But, if you’re expecting Hershey Park/Great Adventure/etc, this may not satisfy you. This technically isn’t a con for me personally but I overheard some tourists say something about the size/options of the park and just wanted to make that clear.
Much better for little kids, or families with a mix of younger and older kids. My kids are 9 and 11. I knew they were right on the edge of being too old for the park, but they enjoyed themselves a lot. Most of the rides are truly meant for toddler to kindergarten-ish age but you can make the most of it if you can stomach rides that turn in small circular patterns.
Staffing issues. As the rest of America is experiencing, it seems like this park has staffing issues. handful of the rides opened late and closed early. But we were still able to do everything we wanted to do by keeping close tabs on the rides that weren’t open yet. Some rides also don’t have enough operators (log flume, I’m looking at you) so one staff member is doing the job of two, which leads to longer lines. (I will say the staff member of the log flume was excellent and always had a great attitude, despite the double work load. I don’t know if I’d be so gracious!)
The pizza/pasta buffet. Please do not eat this. Lol. This food is bad, and I live in FLORIDA, so my standards are incredibly low. I didn’t try the other eateries, other than the pretzel stands (yum!), I truly regret spending money here. Yuck yuck yuck.
If you know what to expect going in, you’re going to have a wonderful time.
Oh and parking is $25 for regular and $35 for preferred if you pay at the booth. If you pay online, you save $10. Just FYI.

Nice place for families and small children. Fun rides. They also have a waterpark. Very clean. Sanitation stations are everywhere.

This is a family attraction with a wide range of activities. Safe, fun, happy, and nice workers. Your kids would love it. the rides also are good for senior citizens. You can find a coupon for the discounted tickets online or some stores. Research it online and you will find some coupon.

We visited on Sunday, July 8th. We were having a great time until our kids went on the wonder whip ride. My 4 yrs hat blew away while on the ride. As soon as the ride was over, the operating girl picked up the hat and was walking over to our kids. Our 6 yr who didn't know informed the girl about the hat as soon as she saw her. All of sudden, in a very loud(almost screaming) and annoyed voice, she says "I KNOW, RELAX" This is not the tone you want to use on a 6yr old. Our kids were upset and we were all very disappointed... if it wasn't for this incident it would've been a perfect experience.

This is our third time to this cute park. It was an impromptu trip for me and my 2 children (now 6 and 8). As always they loved it and I never regret not taking them to Hershey. 1 star off for the waits- there’s always going to be waits but it seemed like it was longer this year. There were some rides where 1 staff loaded and unloaded and some rides running half capacity- like the river boat ride in Exploration Island so they were packing it completely full each boat. Which leads me to my final criticism of the park this year- no enforcement of any social distancing. They had social distancing stickers but some had come off and no one enforced anything. I get it - adults are most vaccinated by choice. But the kids have NO choice, NO options to protect themselves other than social distancing outside. Kids masking for 8 hours in the heat is difficult especially for children who see no one else masked, but should have been enforced inside (ie bathrooms since they were sooo crowded). I understand people want COVID to be over but wanting something doesn’t make it true.

We decided to head to Lancaster for a last-minute trip with our 7 year old son. We were not sure whether he was going to like Dutch Wonderland because he does like wild rides an many said it was too babyish for him. We had a great time; the whole family! There were a few rides that were closed but we knew that ahead of time. It was not overly crowded with no more than 20 to 25 minute wait times for most. It was half price which was an added bonus! Due to Covid, they were I’ll be able to seat every other seat on the rides but they did the best they could and complied with all regulations.

My kids love this place!! It’s perfect for them and for kids 12 years and younger. Great place to spend time with the whole family

Awful awful day at DW today. I grew up going to DW every summer and had some of the best memories. I am incredibly disappointed at what DW has become. I spent almost $300 on tickets alone and nothing was open. The rides that were open we waited 40+ minutes in. It took us an hour just to get in the park. We were there from 12-6pm and only road 6 rides. The water slides were closed which is the only reason my 12 yr old even came. I wanted to leave immediately but I paid a ton of money so was determined to make the best of it. Poor choice. This park should not even be open right now let alone charging $50-$60 a ticket when more than half the rides are closed. If you want to stay open fine but charge half price for the half experience. They should really really be ashamed taking peoples money, they are basically stealing. It would be nice if these big corporations ever gave a crap. So disappointed, DW is definitely off the summer bucket list for next time.

The park is great, however, this year there has been a major change too security team. I brought my long standing diaper bag with me (even though my 4 year old is now out of diapers) and was told I could not bring it in - because it was too big. I explained I had both my kid’s epi pen and inhaler and I didn’t have another bag with me. This is the same bag I have always brought and is a standard size bag (only a water bottle and bag of goldfish were with the epi pen and inhaler). Almost everyone else was allowed in with the same size or even larger bag. My bag fit in the 15 inch outline. I am a season pass holder and am considering canceling our membership. I was 100% singled out as everyone else before and after was allowed in with a bag. I sent an email to DW two weeks ago and received no response. Really disappointing.

We were extremely disappointed to find that after driving all the way from Philadelphia to see Dutch Wonderland at night, they were CLOSED DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER . We have a crying three year old in our car, headed back home. We are all disappointed, especially because IT IS NOT RAINING, and has not been for hours.

Great park for young kids. Make sure to take advantage of the sneak peek hours the night before your actual visit. Our four year old felt like such a big kid because he was able to go on so many rides.

We took a 2 and 1 yr old and they had a BLAST! We loved that the adults were able to ride most of the rides with the children. Our 1 month old was along as well and I appreciated all the benches in the park to be able to nurse, they have a nursing room at the front of the park with AC which was nice. I thought the games throughout the park were very affordable and the prizes weren't to cheap. The only thing that was frustrating was the indoor eating area towards the back of the park seemed to be unprepared for the lunch rush. We had to wait for things to be cooked and most of the condiments and silverware were empty. Other than that it was a really enjoyable day!

We took my son here as part of a road trip for his 5th birthday. He really enjoyed it! He could ride everything. The snacks were branded and wonderful (dole whip, dippin dots, auntie anne's) and the gift shop was well-stocked with animals, knights, and princesses. It is a small, manageable park (could do everything in 4-ish hours) and the lines weren't bad at all when we went on opening day in April. The only thing I'd say is that there aren't huge amounts of lunch options, (pizza, bbq, hot dogs, deep fried stuff) but it's a smaller park so that is to be expected. Busch Gardens has us a little spoiled with the food options.

We went on a Sat snd it was more crowded than I anticipated. Def don’t eat here. The food is overpriced as expected but also not good except the fries. We ended up eating when the food place was most crowded and most people were not wearing masks. We tried to sit at a table outside but we’re basically stalked by a bee so had to move inside. I found the crowd to be pretty patient and everyone was smiling courteous Everyone has young kids. Our kids had fun. We went with my three kids ages 9,7 and 6 and my niece who is 7 my sis and my father also my 13 yo nephew. My 13 yo nephew who loved the park years ago was over it now othet than the big rollercoaster and the flume. My kids loved the flume, the turtle twister thing, the little purple rollercoaster, and the train. Who doesn’t love a relaxing train ride. The rides are short enough so thr kids don’t get bored. The ride operators were all really patient and careful it seemed. We didn’t go on everything. The dinosaur attraction on exploration island is pretty old and tired looking. And the boat ride line we just walked off of cause it was taking too long. My kids loved the car ride on exploration island where they could press the pedal and drive. I’d go again but wouldn’t eat there othet then snacks and pretzels. And I’d go when it’s not crowded. It was nice that it wasn’t super hot when we went Stay away from the food places. O and lots of bees everywhere bZz

I’m only going to point out things others don’t mention often- lets talk a out the all day meal plan that is used on one single day of your choice. We paid $44.99 plus tax -for one- all day meal plan. This option is unnecessary (unless you’re going to eat 4x/ every 90 minutes AND fans of junk food). I say this because the entire park only offers venues with chicken tenders/boneless wings, hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, & a pizza buffet( buffet not included in the meal plan). If your were to dine in park without the meal plan;Chicken tenders and fries are $13.99, side mac n cheese is $4.99 and $4.99 for the fountain beverage. That’s typically enough to satisfy most ppl until you’re leaving, and that totals around $24. The hot dog costs even less- $8.99 for a cheese dog. Ice cream( which is not included) costs around $4.99. Do the math a figure how hungry you are before you go buying the all day meal plan.
Another mention is that when you buy daily admission you are entitled to a preview evening. This allows you to enter the park 3 hours prior to close- an excellent option!
No matter what age child you are going with- one day in this park(assuming from open to close) is enough time to get on all the rides.
The water park is for very small/young children only.
Staffing is clearly an issue. Some employees trained differently (ie: we were allowed to bring a fanny pack on the ride one day; then told not to the next day)
A few of the rides we came back for from 2021 were removed from the park- that was disappointing. Also, 3 rides were not in service (train, twister& balloons).
Overall, its not too clean(especially in the food establishments) a lot of crying children around, but a good number of unique attractions with non- limiting height requirements and a laid back atmosphere. Mid-week in July lines were 39 minutes or less.

Cute place for entire family. We had a great time and kids enjoyed all the ride. The whole place is just big enough.

We’ve been to Disney, Hershey, Kings Dominion, Cedar Point... although we love those places they are usually always very crowded and for little ones they’re a lot to navigate; of course they’re always expected long lines for rides and attractions and character meetings.
In comparison, DW has many of the things we love about the other parks, including theming, quaint rides, usual fun games with prizes and attractions like a bear jamboree, high diving show, character meets and more; food and other snacks that are always within 50 steps.
The rides are what I would call: medium sized! Not grand scale but not micro tiny. Adults can ride 90% of the rides that include Merlin’s mayhem: a fun themed coaster with a well thought out “medium sized” que line and back story, the classic wooden coaster and the fastest bumper cars I’ve ever ridden.
What’s great about this park:
1.We didn’t wait more than 5 minutes for any ride
2. The atmosphere was fun, quaint, friendly and fantastic fun... maybe not Disney magical but they really do a good job of pulling you into they’re medieval world!
3. Food was good, simple, hot and always ready.
4. Reasonably priced compared to bigger parks.
5. One main gift shop not like the gratuitous shops that are along every path that distract little kids attention.
6. A feeling like the park is kind of yours... on the day we went in early May, it was relatively empty and judging by the small parking lot size, I can’t imagine it gets crazy crowded.
7. Interactions with characters are easy and unhurried.
The best part: it was my sons 6th birthday and we did the party in Merlin’s Cafe. We were the only ones there!! For $6.99 per person we cot snacks, drinks, cupcakes and a party that included dancing, theming, limbo, magic tricks that were all orchestrated by attentive staff and all the characters for an hour!!
That don’t usually serve lunch but upon request they brought us two large pizzas. Souvenirs balloons as well! It was the best party ever and we felt like it was all for us at a price that would have cost $1,000 at Disney for anything similar!!
Oh... and my son got to drive the monorail!

Excellent time. Perfect weather and the shows were amazing. My daughter loved all of the rides and the shows. This is a one of a kind experience. We Loved it. Friendly staff and family oriented.

We purchased season passes at the end of last year and decided when we heard they were opening on a weekend getaway. We were concerned about how things would be with the virus and shutdowns, but wanted to try.
The park was very well prepared, there was a wait for temp check at entry on Sat and Sun. Sunday was the longest wait and it was hot especially with 2 young kids. But it was not awful, just uncomfortable, but we understood this was a new experience for all. They did make sure people were wearing mask where and when required, which didn’t seem to be an issue with most, everyone was there to have fun and support the park.
The park was as always clean, sanitizer was available everywhere and it was not packed either day, not sure if it was the heat, virus or reservations required, but either way it was great. The kids got to ride everything they wanted 2-3-4 times without getting off and of course no wait. The water park did get a little busier later in the day but we did it early, so no problem.
I think they did a great job of planning and preparing for this new normal and we are already planning our next visit. We ❤️ Dutch Wonderland.

Dutch Wonderland, you need to do better. Educate your employees on neurodiversity and how to provide customer service.
Today, your employee a 4 year old autistic, non verbal child off of the gondola ride for being “unruly”. He was clapping and crying, as that’s how he communicates.
When the parents said, he’s fine. She slapped the boat, clapped in his face and screamed repeatedly, are you ok? When the parents said, he’s autistic and non verbal. She rolled her eyes and said, get off the boat. He’s not calm.
When we addressed the employee, her response was, I’ll my supervisor. While he was apologetic, he did nothing to redirect the employee.
She embarrassed the family and humiliated them for having a disabled child.
Your business is a “family attraction” yet discriminates. The entire situation is disgusting.
Do better. Educate your employees.

I've been taking my family here on and off 50 years still very nice for my grandchildren. O f course haven't been here in quite some time so there is alot more park to see but at 79 I got over it.

My parents brought me to Dutch Wonderland as a small child in the early 80s, so I wanted to bring my 6-year-old daughter when we were in the area last week. The park definitely caters to younger children, and my daughter was still young enough to enjoy it (kids 10 and up might not be impressed).
I’ve been to numerous amusement parks around the country, and I feel that $46 for admission to a park of this caliber is too expensive. You can get small discounts by purchasing tickets in advance or visiting on less popular days. It’s a nice little park, but I’d still consider Dutch Wonderland overpriced for what it offers. Now that my daughter has experienced it, I wouldn’t be tempted to return.

The rides are great for young kids and laid back grandparents like me. We enjoyed the performances and the diving show and spent a lot of time at the water park. The only complaint is that the food and drink inside the Park is expensive. $6 for a regular size water ice and another $6 for a cup of Auntie Ann's pretzel bites were double the price I pay at home (outside Philly).
My suggestion - spend the day at the park but bring your own snacks and drinks.

My Grandchildren loved the trip so I really should not complain But there were several rides closed both days we visited so they were not able to go on The Big slide was one of them Also the entrance to the park The guards are very extreme with their frisking our bags etc It is easier going into the Linc to watch the Philadelphia Eagles play They were a bit ridiculous. I was there with my daughter our ages 2 women 54 and 33 and 4 children ages 5 3 1 1 My daughter had a diaper bag with a million zippers They were in everyone then to her pocketbook Unzipping her wallet When I expressed my concern about them going in her wallet they stated they had to look for switch blades which was ridiculous of course very unprofessional in my opinion We stood there for 15 minutes because we had a couple bags with towels etc. due to the water park Just gave me a bad taste for the whole place Also my son in law could not make it and I could not get a refund for his ticket or even a credit to spend in the park so be very careful regarding how many tickets you buy from their web page because there is no going back after the ticket is purchased

Visited Dutch Wonderland during Thanksgiving weekend. Paid $15 per person. Not decorated with that many lights as advertised. Too cold for rides so the entry fee should have been reduced. Stayed there 1/2 hour because of the cold. Only bright spot was Santa on way out of park in the restaurant.

Very clean and small enough park for kids under 6! We loved the preview night and water area is great for younger kids. Loved the themed characters walking around and lots of stuff to do and rides to go on for all heights. We'll be back!

We went for the Dutch Winter Wonderland with our son, daughter in law and 2 little grandchildren. The grandchildren were kept busy going from ride to ride. We have once year old and a two year old so there were plenty of rides for both age groups. The rules were all placed near to each other so both children could rudedifferent rides. The only thing bad about the whole experience was very few of the operators would check the safety latches or straps on the rides.
They had heaters placed through out the park so you could warm up. The light show was very enjoyable.

Dutch wonderland has always been great, been going on and off for the last 8 years…. But lately it seems to be lacking. Our last visit was ok, due to the weather the high dive shows were cancelled but no staff member or sign to let everyone know. The hours aren’t as good anymore, only open until 6pm, which means the preview is from 3-6pm, hard when visiting out of state to make those hours. Also the whole photo system changed, in my opinion terrible. They text you a code to go on line later to look at pics but if you wait a bit too long you lose the photos. Old way they just scanned your code and you could log in months later to retrieve them all in the same album.

We visited Dutch Wonderland this July 2019.
Great for young children and families.
Clean, rides great and fun for whole family.
Park isn’t too big but just big enough.
Great value for family

Overall appearance of park needs some updating. The food we had was very good for park food. Some rides took awhile to get on. Also several rides were down. I think the tickets should be cheaper especially since shorter park hours are offered in the fall. My daughter enjoyed the shows. On the way out at the gift shop only one employee was working with a very long line.

My kids loved it. I was nervous based on reviews and the weather but I’m so glad we went. The kids (ages 2 and 4) had the best time. This is a park that’s really geared towards little ones. Older children will not have as much to do. Very accommodating to special needs children. Only two rides were closed and because of the cloudy weather, there were no lines.

Dutch Wonderland
We were there on Sunday, September 3, 2023. We went to “The Eatery,” and needless to say it was a horrible experience. And it was late, after lunch crowd, around 2PM.
No clean trays
Charged for a combination chicken meal, when not asking for it.
Line backed up at least 30 people deep
Credit card sales only, which wasn’t posted.
Empty condiments
Ignorant staff and then asking for a tip on credit card sales
And then to finalize our bad experience, we took an infant into the changing room by the water park, and we wouldn’t have let our dog go in there, poop everywhere, even on changing table, and totally disgusting.

Tonight was to be a fun family experience that we talked and planned for for weeks. Imagine our dismay when we arrived at 6, only to be told they decided to close early at 7. We drove 2 hours to get there for less than an hour in the park. I will never be back.

The staff were amazing, the characters enchanting, the rides spectacular and the day just amazing! We have three disabled children and the staff could not have been more kind or accommodating for their individual needs. Dutch Wonderland really creates a storybook atmosphere that is intoxicating and keeps the children laughing, smiling and happy all day long. I'm often the first to have a critical eye, but I'm at a loss to find anything that was less than amazing. We just completed our first trip yesterday and I don't think my kids will stop talking about it all summer long! I'm so glad that I was able to create some amazing memories for my kids at Dutch Wonderland. On a side note, we had one minor question regarding the park's policy with disabled children and the Park Manager, James Paulding and Guest Services Manager Angela Tessen went above and beyond to make my children welcome and included. I'm really grateful to have found a place where disabled kids can just be kids in a magical kingdom for a day!

This is a magical place amazing for family trips! There are log flooms, kids rides, and different activities such as horse riding and games. I reccomend Dutch Wonderland for people with families.

Wonderful experience for a family without the hassle of long lines! Your ticket to the park includes most everything. There are many rides to choose from for all different interests and ages.
We started out our visit with a train ride around the park. It is not a very big park, but there are a few areas which the ride allows you to see. There is a dinosaur area, fossil dig and a lagoon with a gondola ride.
There are great theatre experiences throughout the park as well including 2 different diving shows and Storytime with Princess Brooke to name just a few...(no special tickets necessary).
We did not visit the water park area as time did not allow ~ we will have to check that out on our next visit!

we stayed 40 minutes in line to enter the park. and another 30 to make the left turn into the parking lot. A lot of places are closed. Service is very slow

Went 12/26......Great time and beautifully decorated. I would say 80% of rides were open.....(Only say this because some obviously are closed because they are water rides!).....Weather perfect...Yes, cold but no wind.....If you go at this time of year DRESS WARMLY!

Beautiful day at Dutch Wonderland. We truly enjoyed our day at the park. Reminds me of Knoebels without the long drive. More relaxed than larger parks. Good shows. Lines were not long. Adults be careful with smaller roller coaster because it is rough. If you have any spinal issues you should not go on it with your child. It could give you whiplash. Otherwise I truly enjoyed that most rides adults could go on with their child or grandchild, especially if they are afraid. The park may be old fashioned but I found that a plus. Everyone was polite and friendly including the visitors.

I went on an august Sunday. We expected crowd but it was manageable. The place is pretty big so we don’t feel it was very crowded. All rides were within 10 to 20 mins of wait which is very good. They have 3 different live shows throughout the day and all were great shows. My kids (3 and 7) enjoyed them very much. I would say the theme park is more cater for young kids below 8. Overall great experience. We don’t have time to go to the water park. Will be back.

We arrived well after the park opened on Saturday, and was greeted by just as many rides that were closed than those that were open. When we saw a ride operator present at the Dukes Dozers, we were told the ride would open shortly after he completed his checks, but that he was responsible for operating both that ride and the Panda Party next to it, so it would be one or the other. (Why were checks being completed after the park already opened for the day?) As we continued to walk around the park as the day went on, we were faced with more of the same, and with less open rides the lines and tensions began to grow. Their website lists that the Merry-Go-Round, Leapin' Frogs and the Gondola Cruise were the rides that were closed, which was not the case- there were many more all around the park!!! The ride operators that were working seemed miserable and overwhelmed, being responsible for all parts of the riding process.
We had lunch at The Potato Patch. After waiting in another very long line, the food was not worth the $27 price tag-- we ordered 2 orders of fries, of which one was clearly prepared in advance and left to sit out. It was very unappetizing. The windows had just opened shortly before we arrived, yet the tables and condiment counter were very dirty and condiments were empty, clearly not refilled at the end of the previous shift or prior to that day's. Later, at another food booth, we observed an employee handling money and food with the same gloved hand. Needless to say, we ate dinner off site.
We heard many rumors throughout the day: all of the workers went back to college, from flooding earlier in the week, etc. Dutch Wonderland should reconsider their hiring process if they don't have adequate staffing IN THE SUMMER BEFORE LABOR DAY. Or at least disclose this information on their website that due to decreased staff or flooding, ride closures will be present throughout the day. We would have passed and not wasted our money.

We had 2019 Cyber Monday tickets and made reservations for a Sun in July. This was the first weekend for regular ticket holders. We arrived 30 min after opening, got temps checked and bag checked. They took our family pic without masks after we entered and it came out great! With our youngest son turning 10, this would be our final visit from over 2.5 hrs away. We had the most amazing time here because of the reservations, though we avoided the water section, the main park was like a private event for us. We never waited more than a full turn to get on anything that was open. We loved Merlin's Mayhem, the Kingdom Coaster and the log flume. Dole Whip's were wonderful. The mask situation here was a little better than the previous day at Knoebel's, there were much less people which added to the comfort level but expect people to either wear masks around their chin or not always have them on. They may enforce them but it will never be 100%. We kept ours on at all times unless eating or drinking. This park enforces using sanitizer as you enter the rides, which is fine but each park is a little different about this. I also noticed that on the log flume, they would wipe down each boat after you got out.

Great amusement park option for families with young kids. Lots of classic rides (tilt-a-whirl, bumper cars, log flume, etc.) along with mild thrill rides like a new steel coaster and an excellent family wooden coaster. Small "water park" area has lots of spraygrounds and two slides (that you can actually ride in regular clothes). Good dive shows for entertainment. Dense arrangement of rides, limited theme-ing. Camping available essentially on site. Two areas of improvement clearly noted: 1) ride signage and 2) staffing (some rides were closed, many games were closed/closed early). Easy drive from Gettysburg, PA, area. For a great deal on tickets, check out Groupon and/or the park's annual Black Friday sale (buy at a discount for the next summer).

Beautiful Christmas light show!!! Had a lot of fun...kids really enjoyed it. I would definitely recommend this show.

I took my kids here when they were younger, and the feel of the park has changed over the years. Let's start with the fact that they now serve beer, which I think is very odd at a park that is for young children, but to each their own. But you know what you can't find at this park? An energy drink of any sort!
I was also not impressed with the staff who told my 2 year old grandson to get off of a ride, unbuckled his seat belt and held the gate open telling him to get off the ride before it even started. This staff member did not even make sure that this child had a family member nearby!!! Utterly disappointed!

This is a great place to take the kids around Halloween. Many Many for all ages. close to hotels. Train ride is great. The trick or treat is great as well as the shows and parade.

Our family had a good time here. There's actually very little "dutch" left in Dutch Wonderland. They're more like little side exhibits with simple animitronics that you can walk through and listen to. You'll most likely breeze through these and hit the rides and goodies. They seem to focus more on Merlin, castles, and dragons; medieval times themes. It's very pricey so find whatever deals you can. The food is very expensive in the park and the portions aren't at all large, and the food (at least where we ate) is what I would consider "cheap", though not inexpensive. They have a pretty awesome live show where the actors are all professional divers, I guess, and they put on a little skit with some zany antics and acrobatics. That was very impressive. You don't pay extra for that, just grab a seat and enjoy. Over all, it was a good time. But you can't really compare it to a Busch Gardens or Kings Dominion. Much smaller in scale while being very similar in price.

What a cute place to bring young children. I brought my 3 year old son and he loved it. He was able to get on almost all the rides. The staff are friendly and the bathrooms very clean.

I used to take my children here and they loved it but this last visit was horrible. This place has become one of the biggest tourist traps I have ever seen (somehow moreso than Hershey Park) and somehow they still dont know how to properly handle large volumes of people. I have never seen more teen employees in my life AND they all seemed sad to even be there. Honestly im not even sure how they get away with the amount of young teens they have working under them. The rides seem to be getting outdated and this theme park is in major need of an update STAT. For the price of admission and the limited rides id honestly just suggest going to Hershey Park and avoiding this place at all costs.

This place is completely overpriced for what it offers. Even with buying tickets online for a "smart day," they were not much less than the cost at the gate due to "processing fees," so we spent around $200 for a family of five. (BTW, the line to get in to the park was the same length whether or not you already had tickets.) We spent around $20 more total for discounted tickets to Hershey Park, which was less overcrowded compared with DW, and had far more impressive rides for all ages (not just older kids, as some might have you believe). Absolutely overwhelming lines for all of the remotely interesting rides, most of which were not sheltered from the hot sun (unlike most theme parks at this price point). My biggest issue is that half of the splash park area was closed virtually the entire day we went (8/22) because a child had a toileting accident in the morning. This was the area with water slides and the like that my kids looked forward to the most based on past visits, and without it the park is an utter joke in terms of what it offers. You would think that a kid having a toileting accident is not the most uncommon thing in the world, and should not result in a complete 8 hour closure absent the Ebola virus! They could have their act together sufficiently for maintenance to remedy the problem within 2 or 3 hours tops. But it is evident that they are cheap and woefully understaffed, trying to get away with as little labor as possible. Then when I complained on my way out, I was only offered a 50% off voucher off my next visit by both the lower level staffer and her supervisor -- right, because I really want to spend $100 instead of $200 on this place and waste another future precious family vacation day. So congratulations DW, you've lost us to Hershey Park and we'll just give our 50% off passes to someone who doesn't realize that you are just living off a reputation at this point.

Long overdue review. We visited in July a couple of years ago. My family and I took our little ones to visit Dutch Wonderland. All the children were under the age of 6, and everyone had a blast. The park was fun and had plenty of rides for kids under the age of 6. We stayed for three days and did the rides multiple times. We would arrive in the morning, get on a bunch of rides and leave the park around lunchtime to cool off. There are a lot of good food options in the area. We would eat, rest up and return to the park in the afternoon and stay until closing.
I think three days is enough time to explore the park without feeling rushed or feel like you are missing out on anything. I've been to amusement parks with very aggressive crowds and found Dutch Wonderland had laid-back/ happy visitors (at least during our visit. )

Dutch wonderland is designated for younger kids. They have a variety of rides but there are long lines depending on the day and time you go. We waited over 25 mins for the monorail because there was only one train.
There is no outside food or drinks allowed so I recommend getting your hand stamped to reenter the park. You can purchase food and drinks at the park but it is a little expensive.
They have fabulous live shows and you can meet some of the characters.

Spent day here. Better for people with young children. Older kids will be bored. Food is little expensive. I have a child with food allergy so I had to be very careful with what I order.

A great experience for all. A amusement park with everything! Fun for the Whole Family with Courteous Staff! Great Day of Fun!

This park is severely understaffed. Not only did we have to wait for ages for every ride, we didn’t get to go on all because they were either closed or we were too exhausted from all the waiting. Expect to go hungry too—many food stalls are closed. This park is a massive rip-off!

It was fairly cold unfortunately when we went but that didn't stop the grandkids from having a fantastic time. There is so much to do and see, it certainly is an all day event. Signage is great and the staff are all friendly and helpful. Can't wait to go back when the weather is warmer.

We decided to make a stop at Dutch Wonderland on our way home while with our toddler. It was a great decision. The entrance fee is a bit steep (I guess from what I remember it being years ago), but we had such a great time. It is a great park for little ones to play, run around, go on rides, grab some lunch, and get tired out enough for a nice long nap! The staff was very friendly and the entrance to the park was quick and easy. Our had a fantastic time - so glad we decided to make a stop.

The entire park is imagined for children, but as adults it is so special to get to watch those kids have unforgettable moments with their loved ones. The entertainment is great. The care from everyone is great. If you have a small child, put this place on your list.

This is a great park for families and young children! My two year old son had a wonderful time on the rides, seeing the shows and visiting the waterpark. We arrived right at park opening and hardly any wait all day for rides.
Park tickets were super affordable, parking is around $20-$25 and the food inside the park was your average food park pricing. We brought a small cooler of drinks and snacks to hold our toddler over to avoid overspending on too much junk.
Overall, it’s a great day for kids and worth the trip!

We spent 4-5 hours at the park on a Friday. I think the experience is worth it at the discounted rate special they were offering ($22.99/guest) but probably not much higher than that.
It was cool to ride with my young kids on their first real rollercoaster experience. Both Merlin's Mayhem and Kingdom Coaster are solid first-time coasters for kids, better than the typical kiddie coasters found at other parks (like Joust).
Other rides are pretty standard kids rides but again, plenty to do for the 3yr - 10yr old crowd. Any older than that will probably be bored quickly but as parents, there is nothing better than watching your kids have a great time.
My two biggest complaints are these:
1) RIDE EFFICIENCY: it makes no sense to me not to be operating rides at their maximum efficiency, especially in today's pandemic climate. We waited over 45 minutes to ride Merlin's Mayhem; not because the line was long, but because they were operating one train with incredibly slow loading procedures. Running a 2nd train would have significantly reduced wait times, which of course is safer for your guests. You require hand sanitizing before boarding but have no problem making your guests wait in crowded lines twice as long as they need to for no reason. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Same experience on the Powered Cars ride (should never be time when no car is being unloaded or loaded - put a few more on the track).
2) MASK POLICY: the only time we ever felt unsafe, and arguably the most important time, was in the gift shop at the exit to the park. Saw multiple guests with masks below their nose, below their chin, or not at all on. We can debate the efficacy of masks all we want, but especially indoors a confined area like a shop, it is unacceptable for your staff to not kindly ask/remind your guests to wear their mask while inside shopping or to simply get out of the store. I saw many of your staff simply walk by these customers without so much of a glance or an eye roll. If guests want to wear their masks outside under their nose or chin, so be it. But inside one of your stores? Do better at policing your policy. My whole family joked, after leaving the store, "if we come down with COVID we will know exactly where we got it."
Otherwise, we had a good time and thought the price was fair. Dutch Wonderland is one more decent attraction away (rapids ride, another upgraded kiddie coaster, cool dark ride, etc) away from being a serious contender is best park for elementary aged kids and their parents.

Our grandson is 2 1/2 and really enjoyed the rides. Rode the cars twice, boat ride, bulldozers, and loved the jeeps. We ate in the park and the food was what you would expect and no complaints. We were there in late September and the waterpark was closed for the season. Not crowded at all, no lines. It is a smaller park and maybe not a lot for older kids. We didn't see any of the shows so no opinion on those. It was a great day, easy to move around, and easy to get in and out. Our grandson had fun.

It's not Dorney, Hershey or Knoble's. Like other places in Lancaster it has been taken over by too many people in too small an area. If your children are over 12 the rides are just too kiddie so everyone ends up at the water slide/park. The food is good, the place is clean, the adjacent campground is very nice. Parking could be a challenge and look out for the buses. This place is 40 + years old and it looks it. Adults can ride the monorail just so much before it becomes old.

Went with kids ages 5-9. They
Had great time. Not overwhelming and not
So huge
The shows were great and everything was priced reasonably

Perfect little amusement park for smaller kids. You don't have to worry about teenagers running around. Totally kid friendly park. Very family friendly, I was more than pleased with park and were there during the week day and the ride wait time was less than 60 seconds on everything my granddaughter wanted to ride. A couple of tmes, she walked right up and got on. My husband and I had taken my mom and friend to the sight and sound theater and ran across this little jewel on the way so we planned a visit for the next day and I am so glad we did. Everything and I mean everything is for kids. All you see are smiles on parents faces because the kids are having so much fun. It's a park just for kids. Loved, loved, loved it. July 3, 2019 was my first time going to Dutch Wonderland but surely won't be my last time. I loved it so much that we are planning another trip next year in 2020. I have it all planned out. My younger grandchildren will go to Dutch Wonderland for a day to play and then the next day we will go to Hershey Park for the older kids to enjoy then on day 3, Papa and I will need a day to recharge our batteries from all the amusement park fun. lol

We used to take our children here year after year. They used to have so much fun. I know a lot has changed here and that they have upgraded so much. As I drove by the other day I could see so many improvements and I plan on taking my Grandchildren sometime in the near future.

Great venue for kids with lots of rides for various ages while not being so big that it is unmanageable to walk. Staff were very friendly and engaged with my kids, which is rare for amusement parks.
The downside was that 99% were unmasked, Including children who are not eligible for vaccines yet as they were under age 12. There was absolutely no enforcement of masks even indoors and no social distancing whatsoever in lines. It would be very easy to put mask signs on every door that leads to an indoor space, like where people wait in line for the monorail, or announcements over the loudspeaker, but there was nothing of the sort. It made it very uncomfortable, and I had to continually remind people to give enough space between families in lines. My children wore a mask all 7 hours we were there: it’s not that difficult for the park to do a better job on this critical issue. I cannot recommend visiting until children can be vaccinated, which is a shame because it’s otherwise a great place.

I like to go once a year with my kids and they enjoy the show, the menu needs to be updated once in a while because the food has been almost the same for years.

The park is very nice and great for young children. The day we visited it was drizzling and misty most of the day. Half of the rides were closed, they offered us to come back the next day for free, for that we had to get tickets from the guest services. we had to wait on line for those tickets for ALMOST 2 HOURS.

Way overpriced , parking , tickets and especially food were absolutely ridiculous considering the condition of the park . It’s definitely geared towards younger kids but we all really enjoyed the diving show .

Bag check is quite unreasonable and selectively enforced. We brought a regular backpack that we've brought many times (e.g. Jansport, etc) and people with taller reusable shopping bags were allowed in.
Having to carry this stuff around (swimming gear, towels, and waters for the family) doesn't make this appealing to return unfortunately. They need to find another more reasonable approach.

We visited on a Sunday in mid October, and the lines for almost everything were so long. We waited for almost 45 minutes just to get our 6 year old on the bumper cars, and when we got on there was another 10 minute wait for the change of shift person to get a key to start the ride. The only roller coaster in the park that my teenagers really wanted to ride was closed, and the ice cream stand at the park entrance messed up our order and we waited another 10 minutes for that. Definitely not worth all the waiting......

Took my 4 and 2 year old daughters and they loved it. This amusement park is geared for younger kids. they were able to ride a lot of the rides.

This place was great when I was a kid, however hasn’t been updated since then (90s) and it shows. Park is dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting. They had no park maps, their website is awful, and for $60 a person you are not getting your moneys worth. It’s a very small park we did everything we could and wanted to in 3 hours. Frankly won’t waste the time or money here again. Whoever owns it seems like they do not care about the park or guests and is just trying to make as much money as they can, definitely not putting anything back into it. I hope someone who cares will buy this place and remodel it, or just tear it down and build something better. Place is an outdated dump.

I can remember my first trip to Dutch Wonderland. It was in 1967. When my son was born I couldn't wait to take him. We have been going there and loving every time we go. Great for small children. They will remember it fondly the way that I have.

We came here with our 3.5 year old and 2.5 year old. We were impressed how nice everything was and how little kid friendly all the rides and games were. We spent the whole day there and will definitely return!

We went here as in the past my kids loved it. But we were not happy this time around now we understand that during covid-19 the park has rules and regulations (which I think they were doing a good job) the last at the front gate was very nice as was the gentleman who was at the gate to the water show but ride operators some were very nasty and abrupt with my kids as well as others if you don't want to be around kids don't work in a children's amusement park.

I have been to this park multiple times and it is never overwhelming crowded. The rides are perfect for children under the age of 8-10. My 5 and 3 year olds loved it!

My favorite part of dutch wonder land was all all of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really loved it x infinity !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would not hesitate to say it is the best place on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really love amusementparks but dutch wonderland is the best Because of all those super ultra mega attractions!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved thepatatochip stands and the super awesome sky tram!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on the sky tram I had fun looking at the giant park below me!!! I love duch wonderland !!!!!!! I REALLY LOVE DUCH WONDERLAND X INFINITY !!!!!!!!!!

Winter Wonderland lights are beautiful, and there were quite a few rides available considering it is a winter event. The only really long line we experienced was Merlin’s Mayhem.
Staff was polite. The only complaint was lack of places to eat indoors, especially in the cold season. The only menu in Merlin’s restaurant was digital and it became inoperable. Poor cashier had to repeat it to each customer. Very small selection and expensive. They gave you a number to put on your table for food delivery, but the servers didn’t seem to know where the food was going, and had to run around asking the tables what they ordered. Seemed like very poor organization and planning.
Our grandson is diabetic and if I had to do it over again, I would have packed him a meal. The selection was very limited and they couldn’t provide nutritional information for their food items which is important to those with medical needs.
This is probably our last visit , as our grandson is growing out of this younger aged theme park.

Great amusement park. No lines. We had a great time with our grandchildren. The people working here at Dutch Wonderland could not have been anymore nicer.

Recently visited and there was not enough workers to work which led to very few rides being available for operation. The castle 🏰 look is cute and good for pics especially at night but I didn’t enter the amusement park due to only 7 rides operating, water park side was closed, park crowded just was not worth the time or money. Still waiting to get a refund for tickets that never was printed or used.

Very disappointed no map they were out
Kids were too small or too big
Water park vey small
No cash had to use credit card
Too many rides shut down

If you have little kids and you're visiting Lancaster, PA then Dutch Wonderland is a must! It's a quaint little theme park with a lot of rides the kids will love. Unfortunately we went when there were labor shortages and some rides were closed simply because there wasn't enough staff. Aside from that, our little boy loved it! It was our first outing since the pandemic began and i'll always cherish the day. Parking was easy and so was the admission process. If there is a downside, admission passes are extremely expensive if you simply walk up to the ticket counter. Buy your tickets online in advance and save a lot!

We took our grandchildren to Dutch Wonderland. The Amusement Park was definitely understaffed. It was the end of June, so the Park had been open a while. We went for lunch at the Old Mill Stream. Everything was cold, and selection was poor. No one was in the front to ask for a specific item. Although, you could see people in standing in the back, we were totally ignored. We will not be going back any time soon.

Grandmother came along for birthday trip for grandsons ages 3 & 6. Great for them (rides, size of park, etc.) and we all had a good time. I hadn't been there since my children were young. The only thing I didn't like was the enclosed water slides. It was extremely hot that day and so miserably hot inside, I couldn't wait for the thing to dump me out. Won't be doing those again.

Dutch Wonderland is an amazing theme park. Great rides and attractions. More low key than Six Flags and Hershey Park but better customer service and overall value. Their staff is incredibly polite, professional, and helpful. Every staff member treated my family like they were guests in their homes.
The rides are definitely more family friendly. My daughter and I rode Merlin's Mayhem and had a blast! Definitely not for the faint of heart!
I highly recommend visiting this park if you have younger children. If you live in NY or NJ, visit the park the week before Labor Day weekend on a Tuesday or Thursday. Those days in August are $10 less per ticket if you buy online.

The park is not too big, good size for little kids to walk around, there is also a water park inside.

We went to DW today ( September 2nd) and can attest to many of the things said in other recent reviews. Many of the rides were closed forcing the huge crowds of people onto long lines for other rides. The same with the food stands. We didn’t have as much problem getting into the park for parking (about 15 minutes) and another 15 -20 minutes through security. My grandson wanted to see the dinosaur exhibit but someone forgot to turn on the dinosaur sounds so we basically walked through a park full of statues. Echoing other reviewers, DW obviously is short-staffed but that’s not our problem. DW should warn people ahead of time about how many rides are closed, lower their prices or restrict park admissions to reasonable levels. We didn’t go on one ride as our toddler could not wait in line 30-40 minutes for a single ride.

The Park is simple, but for little kids it has plenty of options. It’s cheap, your little children will love it, it was a wonderful family summer day, for sure that’s enough for me to get a 5-star-review, and to get a year pass.
It could be better? Yes, it could have a slightly better infrastructure (changing rooms with showers) at wet parts, and some toys look old, but nothing really serious.

Great park for the younger set or people who prefer tamer/carnival like rides. Between the train, monorail, ski lift and gondolas there are plenty of slow moving ride where one can sit back and enjoy the ride. Bumper cars, log flume, roller coasters and giant slides. There were a few rides (giant slide hot air balloon baby ride) that were closed but everything else was open. I regret no getting 2 days worth of tickets because my kids loved it that much.

The lines were wayyyy too long on a weekday(even to pass by security!). Many of the rides and food booths were closed due to being short staffed. Its suppose to be a great place for toddlers but toddlers can't wait in a 40+ minute line. Don't waste your money and time at this place until they get it together. Unlikely to come back.

Went August 9th with my 3 4 year olds. What a cool park geared specifically for toddlers to middle schoolers I’d say. Clean, neat, no lines at all. You might wait one or two rotations at most unless you went on the boat ride around Dinosaur Island. As I said, clean park, pleasant attendants, friendly people/families. My kids walked and rode from open to close. Pretty good for 4 year olds! The Lagoon is real cool, a parents “natural” babysitter. It’s expensive, I payed $43 per for the 5 of us plus $3.50 a water, $6 for snacks etc. but why work if you’re not going to enjoy spending it (price gauging at a park? Who’d have thought?) It was worth every penny. Kids had a fantastic time. If you have a toddlers and/or middle schoolers and haven’t been I’d suggest it. All the kids were smiles from ear to ear. YouTube it.
Also, if you have toddlers and are outnumbered like we were (2 parents, 3 kids who need adult partnering some rides) grab another big kid (4 footer plus) or adult. It’ll allow you to pair up and ride together.

So I went in October of 2019 , ( February was the earliest date it let me select cause I forgot to write it abck then) The park didn’t really open till like 3:00 if I rember correctly. The landscaping was bueghrfil but it smelt a little weird kinda like OZone ( Examples of the smell would be the inside of whacky shack at waldameer park in Errie pa) so we walked through the “ grift shop it looked very Unupdated and old and it looked a little dirty and so did the stuff in it , thr landscaping was decent in some areas then others. I first started by waiting a Extra 10 - 20 minutes for them to open the pathways up so I can ride 1 out of the 3 coasters they have their witch was Merlyns mayhem The que was themed well and pretty but when I walked into the station I was confused cause their wasn’t any designed line that was visible or that I could tell was a line since their physical doors witch is weird and confusing but still it wasn’t the worst but still people could get confused. Anyway the que looked very dusty and darkly light so I couldn’t read any signs that said what door went to what row if they had everything witch ment I couldn’t tell if I was sitting in the front row or back row witch is problme number 2 with it. I would apresate if they switch to the regular gate sytem for future Ciasters but with Covid I say it better so people aren’t all bunched in together. Also when we got on the restraints were kinda uncomfortable and I didn’t really think it would be safer for smaller riders since it felt a little loose but I don’t know
If it was just mine or just the way I felt seeing that I ride like 45 other rollercoaster across a few states and countries. And from hearing other peoples experiences who been to every state and 8 different countries . Anyway when the ride started I noticed the ride operators didn’t really check everything that well cause they would of noticed that mine was loose and the rider next to me since the mom didn’t want to ride ride and he said his felt loose so I knew that you just had to push it in a little more witch you had to push it a certin way and then pull up a tiny bit to make sure their looked , they didn’t do that they just pushed if I tempered correctly. Anyway the ride felt a little whacky and minir head banging but for a new ride with the rastraints it did and for it’s type of coaster their wouldn’t be that much head banging. So we get off and I noticed that somonetbjng Brook cause I heard a noise witch sounded like it was slanted way to hard on the breaks cause it hurt badley. Anyway they rides where ok they all felt dirty, wet , and cold even though it was sunny out and I was wearing a sweet shirt and it was 85 degrees.all the ride operators took way to long for everything and acted like they where in a bad mood or something cause they acted like they didn’t care if something happened cause they where they really paying attention to anything. So we got food and it took them 15 minutes just for French fries witch weren’t even that good and tasted like they where old and burnt so o just assumed it was they way it’s cooked so I had my relatives and it tasted the same witch for the prices we payed I felt like we got scammed. We then bearded towards the wooden coaster and the ride operators weren’t even caring that my restraint was way higher then it should of been considering that the “ seatbelt “ wasn’t even that tight and felt flimsy and not safe. So teo ds the second hill I hear a “ snapping” so I just guess it’s the wood or just a tree branch but then. Look at the trim arson on it and the wood on the tract and I think something Brook , so I told somone and they said it just might be a ment ace thing not a big deal . Me being my age I don’t care cause I know that wooden coasters have problmes a lot and it could just if ben the coaster cart on the wood but it rather have them inspect it. Agian I saw that the staff weren’t doing the best job and other snd that area all the wooden and rides looked dirty and not updated and not token care of, I would love to see improvements like maybe fresh wooden and paint jobs and not restraints and trains and ride bridal sand such . And even light packages for the rides cause we were their till sundown : dark and it felt pretty dark not slot of light really so I just gues they forgot to turn them on or something or the some are just broken till I noticed non where on. The staff were nice like some ride operators but other than that I would recommend it the rides weren’t that enjoyable, I’d say maybe get more thrilling and modern rides and update them or just get and updates version of your rides like a music express, a star flyer, a frisbee, a Droptower, a toppletower, and a bunch of other rides

On a beautiful warm but breezy day on a Friday in July we spent the day at Dutch Wonderland. It was not too crowded. There are plenty of rides plus a small and enjoyable water park to enjoy. It was easy to find benches and shade. The food is standard park fare and expensive. There is a security line before you enter the park but at 10:30 the small line moved fast. Inside there are sets of lockers at the entrance and at the water park. We used the ones at the water park since that was our last stop. The kids had a blast on all the rides and ending at the water park was a great choice. The only negative comment I have is that the water slide didn't have a visible long line yet it took over 30 minutes for the kids to come down on the slide. This is a great park to take toddlers and up to age 8. I think 8 because my 7 year old grandson is getting tall - he had so much fun at Dutch Wonderland and enjoyed the roller coasters so next year he'll probably be ready for Hershey Park.

Short version: if you have small children (5 and under) this is a pleasant but expensive day. Unless you have deeply discounted tickets to Dutch Wonderland, seriously consider Hersheypark instead.
Long version: took my 7 and 4 year old kids here; we had two free tickets and I bought a ticket for myself and paid for parking ($80 for one admission and parking). A ticket is the same cost whether adult or child; 4 tickets bought in advance and parking will cost you $230 plus tax if you buy off their website (this offers a discount) in advance and there are no specials.
For our $80, I feel we got our money’s worth. If it had been the whole family and I paid $230+, I would have been very disappointed. The rides are good for small kids, however, six of the rides were not operating during our visit, and only 2 of the 6 eateries were open.
Arrival is a real cluster. I took the advice of an earlier poster and didn’t arrive ride at open waiting for it to “clear out” - HUGE mistake. It took 40 minutes to get into the parking lot, park, and get through security. There are no section numbers in the parking lot and poor directions/ no parking attendants.
We arrived at 10:53 for a 10:30 opening, but by the time we actually got through the entry process and into the park it was 11:35. Because the park had been filling for an hour and a good number of rides were closed, lines were already long. It did clear out after lunch with people leaving or heading to the water area. If you go, I would arrive early - half an hour before park open - or wait until 1 or 2 pm.
When things did clear out, the kids had a good time, especially my 4 year old. The train ride was a longer attraction worth the wait. The diving show is also surprisingly fun and impressive - don’t miss this!
With that said, I don’t know why a family with only a day to spend in the area would go here and not Hersheypark. Hershey is 110 acres vs DW’s 48, so more difficult to navigate; however, Hershey has Chocolateworld (free!), a far superior water area, and Zoo America is also included in your admission. There are roughly 15 kiddie rides scattered throughout the park, and if you have older kids, they will find plenty of more thrilling things to do. There is also no shortage of eateries, including sit-down restaurants. Shockingly, DW and Hershey are the same price: Hershey tickets from AAA from a family of 4 will run you $212 for a family of four.

This review is more about the bag check policy and to provide information on that for anyone looking for more information. We visited on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. This being our first time to the park you never know how strict a place like this follows the posted policies for bags. Well here they are serious, as we waited in line about 30 minutes before opening we saw a few people who were denied entry for a regular backpack. We had a change of clothes for our 2 kids and 1 towel and water shoes in our bag for the water area along with a couple of snacks(allowed) and refillable water bottles(also allowed). They told me our regular size backpack was too big but I said that we have a change of clothes for if my younger son(who is really 5) has an accident, and that seemed to be the key, once I said the words "diaper bag" they said OK and let us bring it in. But I feel like a different staff member might not have been so understanding. I saw one couple arguing(to no avail) with one staff member, so we quickly switched lines thinking that's not the one we want to be in. They really look through ALL bags here, made me open EVERY pocket. They look below strollers, the works. I got the magic band on it, they said if anyone in the park asked about it I could show them that and all would be well(we were never asked). We all went to the car once and came back in, I was a little worried but the 2nd time they didn't really care about the size when they saw the tag from earlier, but still did a very through search. People next to us had a few sandwiches and they were singling them out and telling them that is a no-no. Once family inside the park even asked us how we got our backpack in, when I told them we said "diaper bag" for my "4" year old they were like ooooh ok we should have said that!.
Policies like this at a family amusement park geared for younger families really irk me. This isn't a concert in an NFL stadium where you might be looking for drugs or booze or real weapons. It's a place for families with young children. Give it a rest and take it down a notch with the super bag security please. Disney is complete opposite, a quick peek in to make sure no glass or weapons and good to go. There were still plenty of people buying overpriced food in the park.
The park itself was fine and our kids(really 5 and 7) had a great time. There is lots of shade around the entire park. Everything was clean. At 10:30ish they did start doing bag checks and let people inside the park up to a certain point just past the train ride. A few people had special wrist bands(I'm assuming season pass holders) and they were allowed in the rest of the park before 11AM). Right at 11AM they let everyone into the rest of the park.
Oh and as we pulled in to park at 10:15ish, they said the credit card machine was down so everyone got free general parking! Score! That was $22 I didn't feel bad about spending in the park(for 2 ice creams and 2 fountain drinks, LOL) since I should have had to pay for parking.
We would come back again sometime, but again just be aware of the strict bag check policies being enforced as of May 2023, I hope this post provides some information to help a family plan a trip here. If you don't have at least one kid who looks 4 or under, be prepared to just bring a knapsack type bag only.

To appropriately frame this review, I have been to Busch Gardens a few times, Walt Disney World, and King’s Dominion. Weave had a lot of fun at all and were impressed by the variety of things to do and the cleanliness of the park. A few things stood out for me at Dutch Wonderland:
1) There are only. Few changing tables for families with very young children and they are only located in the women’s restrooms. Not in the “family rooms” or the men’s restroom. The family rooms were incredibly small, and were very dirty even first thing in the morning!
2) The restraint systems are outdated. My son really wanted to go on the Space Shuttle ride at the front of the park, but the ride couldn’t accommodate my husband. My son was left riding it alone and it terrified him! Had my husband been able to ride it with him, i seriously doubt he would have had such a traumatic experience.
3) During our visit over a very busy weekend, the air conditioned restaurants were closed !
4) There are not enough dining options for people with the restaurants closed.
5) the VR voyager and the astroliner rides are very outdated with bad graphics, choppy video and bad sound.
In all, the park leaves you wanting for more and for a more family friendly place to go for the money people spend here!

All I can say is if you are on a budget this is the place to take your children. It is not like Disney at all, but it won't cost you an arm and a leg to make your children happy.

Came to see the lights and enjoy the extra festivities that were available at Dutch wonderland. Family was excited to enjoy the festive plans. Lines at the holiday lights were great, pacing was appreciated, temp checks going into the castle was also appreciative. The family decided to go see Santa first. We saw endless families interacting with Santa and the photographer asking families to do different poses for pictures. We were totally excited. When it was finally our turn, there was no direction, no discussion, no joyous feeling at all put forth towards our family by the photographer nor Santa. Santa didn’t even acknowledge us except a “have you been good” as we were walking away. Needless to say we didn’t buy those pictures and I did take that non-interactive activity personally because the 2 families behind me received the full interactive conversational treatment as those that proceeded before me.
Train ride was great. My children enjoyed the ride along with the hot cocoa and snacks.
I bought a season pass for the coming year and I’m hoping this was an individual act of unfriendliness and dare I say felt discriminatory. For sure, left a bad impression.

Dutch Wonderland is a great place to take young children. The rides are perfect for them to have a fun day. A lot of the rides are fun for the audits too. You would only need to spend one day there to do everything. We got there early, went off of the park for lunch and went back for the evening. Everyone had a fun time. We have been there several times and it was always fun for the kids.

Our family went to Dutch Wonderland in August and enjoyed our time there. From the outside, the park doesn't look like much since it's right off a busy main highway/road full of restaurants and hotels and shops. But once we got in, it definitely had the amusement park feel. It can feel a little dated in parts, but overall, it's a fun place for young kids (probably toddlers to 9 or 10 y.o or so). Good combination of rides for very young kids and roller coaster and log flume rides for older kids. We enjoyed the diving show and the kids overall had a great time there. I think it's worth the occasional trip for young kids.
COVID-19 wise, social distancing was not as enforced as it could be in lines, but masks were worn and there weren't large crowds even on the weekends.
The Water Park is not good - very small and grungy. Not Sesame Place quality even. That's where I was most concerned about COVID-19 precautions so we got out of there quickly.
Staff is typical staff for the mid-range amusement parks. Lots of younger staff (maybe high school and/or young college aged) and hit-or-miss as to how much they care about their service. But no issues at all with staff - everyone was fine.

I had not been to Dutch Wonderland in over 20 years until this summer. They have expanded the park but kept the simplicity of theme and focus for younger children. I took my great niece of 9 and 2 and my sister. We had an awesome day enjoying each other’s company and sharing time together. The park has added some coasters that make the age range just a little wider to reach my 9 year old niece. There is no better time then sharing it with those you love!!

Fantastic place for a family with young children. If you have small children this is the place to take them. Family friendly amusement park with many carnival style rides as well as a few larger scale rollercoasters. The park is a nice size; not overwhelming and not too small. During the pandemic there was zero wait for any ride. Unfortunately not all the rides were open because of Coronavirus precautions, but most were open.

We've been bringing my kids here for my daughter's birthday for several years (minus the COVID years, as we all agreed we'd prefer not to wear a mask outdoors in August). The kids have a great time. We always go on a Saturday, and we never really have to deal with long lines except for a few rides (but not like hour-long lines) and that really ebbs and flows during the day. Sometimes you can hop right on Merlin's Mayhem and sometimes you can't.
This park is a very manageable size and there aren't crowds of rowdy teenagers or anything like that.
This year, I've noticed that they were short-staffed, but that was literally everywhere in Lancaster, and it wasn't THAT bad. Also, you can no longer get discounted tickets at Weis; we ended up getting them online with a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal, but it was still more expensive than in the past (what isn't, nowadays?), and it seems like they used to stay open later.

It’s a great place for kids up to 7 or 8, but its very outdated and some machines is not even working. My daughter Is turning 7, and she likes big ride, but they only have one big roller coaster ride open and the newest one was close.
They tried to copy Disney in many ways, but it didn’t do well not even close at all. For the tickets prices they charged, it should be done better.
Our first visited, and it was enough. Time for better and bigger theme park.

Went with two grandchildren, ages 8 & 11. Not crowded, and minimal line waiting. Friendly Dutch Wonderland personnel, and easy access to special shows. Really enjoyed their 5 person roving musical band: happy music for all ages.

Let me start by saying we have been season pass holders for years, this will be our last. We went earlier this year April, no issues except lines and price increases beyond reasonable. We just accepted the prices as part of this economy and let it go, since the park allows small snacks and outside drinks. We also bring sandwiches & snacks for our granddaughters because of severe food allergies.
We went to the park again on 06/15, same backpack we have always used, a 15” backpack. When we got to the bag check a very rude, arrogant and asinine person grabbed the bag from my husband yanked it up by the top handle and measured it, it was 15 1/2” at the top of the handle. She told us it couldn’t go in, we needed to read the policy and make sure we understand the requirements. I told her to sit it down naturally and measure the bag not the handle and that we were bringing in things for the girl’s allergies, she said it doesn’t matter it’s to big. I then pointed out the people walking in with bags larger then ours, she said they were with groups or had potty training toddlers. I informed her they were not, the guy checking bags next to us said don’t you have any one potty training or in diapers, I said no I have 2 children with medical needs, he said oh. I then told her to read the policy there was an exception for medical needs, she then got snotty and told me I needed to talk to her supervisor and I needed to stand there and wait. I laughed told my husband to take the bag to the car and walked in.
The inconsistency and unprofessional behavior is totally uncalled for. Not sure how they can pick and choose on enforcement of a policy but they have done it. I’ve attacked pictures of other bags they let in, one is a 19” Bogg bag. Go figure no toddler present.

Just the right amount of rides. The park has a pleasant feel to it. Best to bring food to the park in a cooler or just leave and hit one of the many restaurants in the area.

We took our 6 and 10 year olds as well as 2 of their friends with us for a day trip to Dutch Wonderland to celebrate the end of the school year. We have been going to DW for the last several years. Overall the park is clean, well kept and the kids “and adults” had a blast. The water park was open as well, lines were small and the max wait time for rides was about 10 minutes and that was for the Fun Slide! The big rides had no wait at all, the kids really had a great time. The shows at the aqua theatre were excellent as usual too. The only gripe I have with the park is the food and beverage situation. We ate at the mill creek eatery, which is like a cafeteria. The quality of the food is very low but the prices are the opposite. The kids threw a lot in the trash, the Mac and cheese was gross, cold flat chicken strips and mushy fries. That said we have eaten other times at the potato patch and pizza without issues. The only other gripe is we bought 2 of the refillable cups, by 6pm there was no place to get a refill. The BBQ place opened the window, offered me a cup of ice but said they had already disassembled the drink machine. They should keep them running till 6, the cups are around $25 each so you are paying for refills not a cup of ice! The area around DW is great, I suggest the Best Western Plus in Intercourse. It’s clean, has a pool and includes a fantastic breakfast buffet.

I have been to Dutch Wonderland since my son was young more than 20 yrs.I like it because it is not a huge park but has alot of fun rides. The log water ride is my favorite. We all enjoyed that alot.the park is very clean and nice .

This place is awesome for little kids, the rates are affordable, lots of different rides and games, and the aquabatic shows are awesome and fun to watch.

With no where else to go, we decided to drive to Dutch Wonderland and experience their drive-thru display. With just the two of us in the car, the price at the gate was $ 25 plus tax -- yes the tax was added for an additional $ 1.50 for a total of $ 26.50. A train ride was included in the price, but since it was cold and we worried about being around others during the pandemic we passed on the opportunity. We saw that the main building was open for food sales and visits with Santa, but for safety reasons only did the light show.
The route looked small as it just went through the campground. However, it wound back and forth through the cabins and campsites which they advertised as 1.5 miles total. It was not high tech like some other light shows, but it was beautiful with many large trees covered in lights, the buildings outlined, ground and fence lighting, and many free standing light outlines of figures and scenes. They had their own radio station through which you could listen to Christmas music during the ride. Near the end of the route the lights flashed and changed colors to the music.
Overall a nice experience, and a way to help the local economy -- we want to make sure Dutch Wonderland survives the pandemic for the families to enjoy for years to come. Our family made many memories here with our children, and hope to return with grandchildren soon.

TLDR: My 8 year old had an excellent time ("Best Day Ever") and I enjoyed staring into the buccolic farmland while securing myself a spot in the "good" nursing home one day.
The recent negative reviews gave me pause about taking my daughter for the first time since 2022. I am so glad we went. I was a bit stressed about the bag situation. I carry a backpack daily and I have about 10 of them between family members. Not one would have met the strict 15x15x15 rules. I opted to take a small cross-body bag to walk around and a scout tote bag for the waterpark and stored it on a locker ($10) as soon as we arrived. The bag search was thorough, but I didn't observe any conflicts. I ran into a little issue since the locker machines do not use tap to pay and I hadn't brought in a CC. The little shop next door was able to get me coupon code after about 15 minutes of calling around. So bring a card if you want a locker.
I noticed a lot of reviews talked about slowness at the park and I did not notice this at all on the rides. My daughter was able to spin her little heart out on every ride without delay. Luckily, there were plenty of benches for vestibular recovery for myself in between rides while she lived her best life on the turtles.
HOWEVER, Nathan's was EXTREMELY slow. The couple and I waiting for our Nathan's orders were remarking on it and speculating that there might be a gas leak (hope they're OK!). It was absurd. And there were zero F's given by the staff back there about the slowness. Auntie Anne's was hustling though. I stood unnoticed for quite some time waiting to order at dippin dots. The place that sells booze and fancy pretzels gets middle marks, slowish but extra friendly to make up for it. For some reason, the DOle Whip(I realize I'm telling on myself about all the junk we injested, but in my defense we were there for 8 hours and only had snacks or drinks from each place!)

Dutch Wonderland was a perfect location for our family ( with a preschooler and toddler). Our five year old was tall enough to ride nearly all the best rides (with the exception of the wooden roller coaster), and even our two year old had several options that were perfect for her! Plus with a water park section it was the perfect way to beat the heat of the summer! We had a blast here and quickly became season pass holders. We look forward to our next visit!

At any given time roughly half or more of the attractions seemed to be closed.
The minimal and poorly trained staff members were constantly barking orders at customers. Have to enforce "rules" you know.
Anytime your experience includes the word FORCE it is not fun and relaxing and I refuse to spend my hard earned money for it.
This was FAR from a memorable family experience, at least in a positive way. It was more like visiting an incarcerated pot dealer down at the county lockup. I was waiting for someone to come up to us with a body cavity probe...
Save up your money and drive to Florida or another free state.

I have not been here since I was about 10 and my 10 year old enjoyed it. My 10 month old seemed to have fun in the water area too.
Very clean lots to do for the kids.

The place itself is nice unfortunately the experience with staff ruined it. We went on a day that had some passing weather, it even rained on us for a few minutes- no big deal. The park suddenly decided to close mid day due to a “storm” with no information from staff on what was happening or what to do. We sat in the parking lot with the sun beaming on us for over an hour. A storm never happened and we never got any help from customer service. We tried calling for 3 days following our visit, unable to get in touch with anyone. Finally we emailed only to be told they could not issue us a rain day ticket because we did not spend hours waiting in line with 100 people the day we visited. LOUSY! If you’re going to have such a ridiculous policy you should have employees that can tell patrons about it when it applies.
And to boot we witnessed one of their staff have a mental breakdown while operating a ride. Crying and screaming at parents! Luckily we weren’t on the ride but I felt so bad for the mother who begged this girl to let her child off the ride safely.
Too bad, this really could have been a great place to visit. Obviously they don’t have a thorough hiring process or standards for their employees knowledge of their own policies.

My eight year old kids had a real blast! There were plenty of age-appropriate rides and none had a long line more than five minutes. The food was okay - did the job as expected - we all loved the custard ice cream!

Had a great time with the family. Rides for all ages.
I did not feel that there were a variety of rides for toddlers. Water rides are limited. Overall, fun for a whole family. I will revisit again in the future.

I would not waste my time or money going here again. First off, $22 to park? For what? $22 to park is INSANE. Then the line to get in, 2 lines, one stroller and one non, each just as long, 2 people working each line, not enough. Get inside, some rides not open, when 3 of 30 rides are not open, that’s sad. Overall the place appears dirty and rundown. Go to buy any food item, 2 slushies $28, where the attendant asks how many and hands you cups to fill yourself, first question on the screen is a tip?, ummm no, and she was rude. I will NOT be back, overall the park is disappointing and way overpriced, for less money and a better park it’s Knobels for the win!

We went on a Wednesday in July, and it wasn’t very crowded. We ended up getting tickets on sale. We took our 10, 6, and 1 yo. I am also pregnant. We were pleasantly surprised at not only all the things my 1yo and I could do, but also my 10yo did not find it too babyish. I saw many kids my son’s age who were having a good time as well. Your parking pass is good all day and we got our hand stamped, so we were able to go at open, stay til lunch, head back to our Airbnb, and come back after nap time. I’d recommend doing that if you can, it was hot, so the park had cleared out quite a bit after 3 and we ended up staying until close.
I only give 4 stars for a few reasons. The longest line we stood in all day was getting through security and into the park. We arrived around open, but did not get up to the gate until 10 after open. We didn’t make it through security and into the park until 20 minutes later. They eventually opened a second terminal for scanning tickets, but not soon enough.
The lack of efficiency also showed when loading rides.
I can literally count 4 employees who were lovely, but the rest were all rude or seemed as if they have better places to be. I don’t expect Disney quality, but goodness. When you’re paying $200 to ride kiddie rides, you expect some professionalism.
Finally, we were only in the area for a few days. And we spent a whole day here. If you’ll be in town for longer or will be nearby, I’d recommend, but not if you only have a few days. My 6yo saw a video of it when we planned our trip and talked about it for months, so we decided it’d be worth it.
All in all, the kids really enjoyed it. They got to ride some of the rides multiple times and we did just about everything. They highly recommend. As a parent, it was fun, but I wouldn’t necessarily do it again, unless you live closer.

A great old park that is as family oriented as it gets. They have made some nice additions to their facility keeping up with changing times. Very friendly staff of mostly young and dedicated people. Good inexpensive outlets to get food, nice people on every level, a positive experience for any family of any age group. Well worth the effort.

Went to Dutch wonderland with a 6 and 3 yo and it was great! Clean, quick lines, long rides, good water park. The kids loved it. We live near sesame place and have season passes but I have to say that DW was even better - mostly because it was not over crowded and the kids could go together without adults on most rides and because there was shade unlike sesame where you’re just roasting standing in line.
Definitely recommend this place for little ones!

We visited on a Monday, first week of June. It must have been a perfect time of the year because of no crowds. We walked right up to roller coasters without any lines. Our 23 month old daughter loved it and some of the shows. The park was clean and easy to navigate around. We wished the pony rides would have been open on such nice weather though. Food was average.

We have family in Lancaster so we buy a season pass every year. The rides are really geared toward small children however our kids enjoy them. The park has two smaller roller coasters that never really have much of a wait; my son likes both of them. The prices are reasonable, the park is clean and the staff is friendly. We always have a good time and the length of time we spend there is just right when you have toddlers.

Simple, fun amusement park that is a great choice for the early-to-middle elementary set in particular. Reminds us a bit of a nice fair -- only with much more substantial rides. Unique and classic rides include the Dutch Wonder House, gondola boats, and the Duke's Lagoon boat ride. Very cute. Included water park -- mainly a large spray ground and two water slides you can ride in clothes or swim suits (but you MUST wear shoes). Laid-back atmosphere. Plenty of cute photo ops.
Recommendations: arrive early, wear water shoes/flip flops, take a picnic meal (keep in a cooler in your car), be prepared for slow ride restarts after any rain, buy a booklet of game tickets if indulging (reasonably good value -- especially for "guaranteed win" games like duck pond).
Added attractions and expenses in park: parking ($5-$15); food (there's an Arby's and a Friendly's nearby); games (get discount game ticket book at guest services); pony rides; kiosks for things like face painting.
Ticket deals: Annual Black Friday sale for the next summer, Groupon. Check fine print to see if you can go a few hours the night before. Good rain refund policy.
Not open terribly late.
We found a good value hotel (with a slight drive) in Best Western Plus Reading (Shippensburg).

We took our 22-month old there last weekend and he loved it! He was able to ride about 75% of the rides. The turtle twirl and wonder whip were too much on his neck so I highly advise avoiding these two. The height requirement should be higher. It is very stroller friendly, plenty of shaded areas. Doing the preview hours the night before allowed us to finish the rest of the park the next day without having a missed nap meltdown. The water park play area is awesome! I love they have one section geared towards toddlers. The food is what you expect for a park. However, the portions are larger enough for adults to split, at least for fries and conewiches. I found the Dole Whip seriously disappointing but that isn't DW fault. I just thought it was something more exciting than canned pineapple and pineapple soft serve. Bring refillable water bottles, no need to buy souvenir cup for soda. There is a nice changing room for getting ready for the waterpark. It wasn't crowded at all either day and we waited at most 10 minutes on a few rides. AAA offers a good discount on tickets. I dont think this is a place for teenagers, or anyone over 10. The few teens there seemed bored. The picnic area outside the park is shaded and perfect for taking a break.

Driving home after a full day at Dutch Wonderland. Our almost 3 year old and 5 year old grandsons had an amazing time. They enjoyed so many rides, played at the water park and saw two diving shows. Even though it was hot we all had a great time!

A fantastic place for my 4 & 6 year olds. Plenty of rides, fantastic dinosaurs, extremely clean. A little pricey for a family but the fall discount really helped. We bought the Admission plus Meal Combo tickets and will never do that again. The meal tickets were limited to two eateries. Merlin’s Pizza was awful and dirty. Nothing looked clean. No ice available. The food was like school cafeteria food with few selections. Don’t waste your money.

This park is perfect for young children. We took our grandchildren 2 and 4. They loved it. We went in the morning, left for lunch and nap time and returned on the same ticket later in the afternoon and evening.

I was removed from Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster Pennsylvania on Wednesday July 29th. I was humiliated in front of a crowd of people and my family. I have Bells Palsy, anxiety/panic disorder, SVT and A-fib. Half of the people in the park were not wearing masks. Which I understand, it was 92 degrees out a difficult to breathe. The mask I was wearing was transparent flexible plastic attached to a sun hat. The situation was extremely upsetting and disturbing. I ended up having a full blown panick attack and an SVT episode. An ambulance was called, my HR was 128 and BP 190/110. My normal BP is 115/70. The manager finally agreed to let me walk over to the water park area with my family as I had clipped the sides of the mask tighter. I stood up and was crying and jittery after being through roughly 45 minutes of humiliation. At that time he changed his mind and told me to leave. He didn’t like how upset I was. I was not screaming, harming anyone or doing anything erratic. This was when I started having difficulty breathing and was blacking out mostly due to my heart condition being induced from stress. I sent my husband out with my kids so they wouldn’t see me in that condition. I sat in the middle of the floor in the empty restaurant portion of the park while the manager, co manager and police officer stood about fifteen feet away from me. I was in an obvious state of panic and having trouble breathing. The EMTs were called and I waited, sitting on the floor for approximately 20 minutes. The EMTs came in and immediately said someone needed to get me some tissues or napkins. It was they first thing they noticed. They were wonderful, compassionate and understanding. My BP finally came down to 160/110 and I was escorted off the property. I have never been treated so coldly.
This was all because my mask was transparent.
Again, half of the park had cotton masks around their necks.
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Because my mask was clear.
I cannot tolerate a cotton or fabric opaque mask on my face.
I suffer from PTSD. I cannot have my face covered due to circumstances that involved my face being covered. I won’t go into detail.
I told the manager this.
He couldn’t have cared less.
What is going on in this world.
I am so disgusted and disheartened.
I am against wearing any sort of mask. I did this so my children could make some memories this summer.
Instead they exposed to this inhumane, heartless, callus group of people.
Because my mask was transparent.

We enjoyed a gorgeous fall day at Dutch Wonderland (our first time at this park). This park is all about nostalgic vibes. It was built in the '60s and reminded me of the parks I went to as a kid in the '80s and '90s. I loved the my kids got to experience old-fashioned thrills at a well maintained park.
Unlike most parks built today, this park has trees throughout the park that were spectacularly changing on this fall day. Many of the summer-appropriate rides were closed, but there was no shortage of fun. There were Halloween decorations throughout the park; most were well done (the train ride at night is a must). We could have done without the Halloween costumes on the dinosaurs (it made that exhibit more campy), but otherwise enjoyed the theming throughout the park. Riding a vintage monorail with Halloween music was probably the scariest ride in the park (will it fall off the track? Ride it and find out!).
There are rides for all ages here. Merlin's Mayhem roller coaster was a stand out. The Dragon Lair's boat ride was a universal family favorite.
This park is significantly cheaper than the parks it gets compared to (Hershey & Sesame Place). We've enjoyed those other parks, but we felt like we got what we paid for -- good, old fashion family fun.
The one con to the park (which you'll find at any amusement park these days) is the lines. They were reasonable for (5-20 minutes) for the boardwalk-type rides (tilt-a-whirls, etc) but they were closer to 45 for some of the most popular attractions.

We loved our day at Dutch Wonderland, even though it was scorching outside. We have a 7 yr old, 9 yr old, and one year old twins. There wasn't a ton for the babies, but there was enough. I will say that they were terrified of the dinosaurs in the back of the park. This is definitely not a thrill kind of park, so don't go expecting Six Flags. The Merlin Mayhem coaster, my kids did enjoy and went on multiple times. We never made it to the water park part, but plan on next time. Also, they have Dole Whips!!!! I thought these were only available Disney. The price was also very reasonable. For anyone who knows the South Jersey area, this park seems to be a much larger version of Storybook Land. We will definitely go back, just not in July/August!

We were the first ones to arrive at the park that day. It was a weird feeling. I thought to myself if this was a mistake the visit here. Wow, was I wrong. Yes, not all the rides were open, but we had a great time. My son had a blast. The park filled up later. We really enjoyed it here.

I won two admission tickets at a roller coaster club Christmas party to Dutch Wonderland Park, so it was included on the itinerary for a trip a friend and I planned.
This is a great little park, especially for families with younger children. The grounds are very clean. Admission is pricey as is the food. That is generally true for amusement parks. The food was not bad.
The park is cashless, so be prepared for that.
My only real complaint is that most of the workers were not that friendly. Yes, working at amusement parks is tough. I've been there. However, a smile and positive attitude goes a long way. Only a handful of workers smiled at guests. I asked one a question; she wasn't the nicest when answering. I even said to one to have a nice day. She just looked at me. I know working with the public can be a challenge, but this is a park mainly for kids. Smile!!

We visited with our two year old twin grandsons. So many wonderful attractions, rides and things for them to see and do. They especially enjoyed Duke’s Lagoon, the water park. They could easily have stayed there for hours. We had been here many times with our sons when they were small and it was magical coming back with our grandsons. Highly recommend!
The only negative was the food court that we visited. The food wasn’t very good and the service was terrible. They ran out of ketchup and nobody seemed to know how to fill a ketchup dispenser. The teenagers working there definitely need better training. That was luckily the only negative on the whole day.

Great local amusement park for families and kids, wonderful way to spend with the family. Rides are for the smallest among us, but it's a great day out.

Our kids are 8 and 9 and this park was perfect for them. We love the dinosaur area which is an island. Another exciting part was riding the boat around the island.
My son liked driving the cars. Fandroid the bumper cars and they also have a fairly new roller coaster.
Bring a picnic lunch and you can eat in the Pavilion area which is right outside the gate. It's a very short walk from the parking lot.
They also have a nice size water area and splash park with several water slides. Keep in mind you have to wear water shoes to get on the water slide.
Thumbs up my photos if you like them.

Very clean park. Well laid out with many shaded areas for resting between rides. Staff was very friendly and courteous. This is our 3rd visit over the years. We have always brought our toddler grandchildren, and this year we brought our 4 year old granddaughter. She loved it! She is still talking about the pony rides, the face painting, and Duke was her favorite character. The park is big enough to be exciting, but not so large that it is overwhelming and exhausting for younger children. Landscaping and flower gardens are well maintained and pretty. The shows are cute. Water splash park was so much fun for her. There were only a few rides she could not get on, due to her height. We'll save those for future trips. The campground looks nice and is within walking distance to front gate. We plan to return with whole family next time in our kids RV. Be sure you use the preview night. You can come at 3 pm the first day and buy your tickets for the park, then go in and enjoy the park for a few hours. Then 2nd day, you use tickets already purchased the day before. Very nice advantage.

My husband is a veteran and we get a military discount. My 6 year old and I visited for a 2nd year for Halloween. For what we paid it is too expensive. I once worked at another theme park that was immensely clean. Dutch Wonderland is very tired, run down, and dirty. If I lived in the area I would purchase a season pass. We were contemplating returning at Christmas time but I think we may go to Hershey Park instead.
There are picnic tables there. We have packed a cooler and eaten dinner or lunch at the tables.

I'm a grandma with a 7 and 6 year old. They love Dutch Wonderland. The rides are just their thing. We went on an overcast Tuesday and the lines were very short if any at all. There are Annie's Soft Pretzel stand but we could not find the Dole Whip stand. We purchase regular parking pass and park near the purple roller coaster. We come out and eat our packed lunch and take a little break at mid day. Then back we go and with young children we stay the whole day. One of the children feels like Dutch Wonderland is what she wants in a home. It is a great celebration day at this park.

Like Sesame Place, this is a great place for younger kids who are not big enough to take advantage of all of the rides at a larger theme park.
I will say that the option to come the night before for 3 hours is a great ticket perk. We made hotel reservations the night before we planned to do the park. So we saw we could go from 5:30-8:30 the night before (as part of regular ticket!!!!) and gladly took advantage. It allowed us to do the whole park in the one evening plus next day without feeling rushed. Great perk Dutch Wonderland!
I would say the really sweet spot for ages is probably 5-7. At that point they can probably ride everything but maybe the bigger coaster. My kids loved the Merlin suspended roller coaster. So cool that there was a fun and exciting coaster option for my 4 and 6 year old. My daughter had to stretch her neck and stand on tip toes but she got on. We did this twice and it was the highlight. So were the tube slides and log fume ride.
The water rec area was fun too. The dino park area is is great. They could probably use a few more updated rides but overall great variety and quality.
The food options are sub-par. The Rita's Water Ice was not the standard. No flavor and just frozen chunks of ice. Virtually no where to go eat inside. In fact, the only real big issue was that there is no shade. All of the benches were in blazing hot sun so in summer with young kids, it was not good.
Spring for the extra $10 to park right near entrance so you can go out to car to change and grab food/drinks.

Took out grandkids (7 and 5) for what we thought would be 2 days at Dutch Wonderland. Turns out it is closed on Tuesdays in August. Arrived Sunday at a nearby hotel and bought a 2 day ticket. No one there said anything about the closure either. Got to do the preview and go to the park from 3-6 and not count as a day. Went back on Monday and had a great day. Wanted to go again Tuesday before heading home but found out Monday night from another guest at the hotel, it was closed Tuesday. Not on the website unless you look at the calendar for August. Have until Dec 31 to use but I will not have the grandkids back and we live 2 hours away.
The rides were perfect for my grandkids. Roller coasters height requirements good for the 7 yr old to ride them and there were plenty of rides for the 5 yr old. Snack prices were normal and pretty good tasting. They were out of some of the Dipn Dots ice cream flavors. There is a water area but we did not do that part of the park. They have a dinosaur exibit area that the kids enjoyed. Park is the perfect size for this age group and grandparents to walk around. Only had glimpses of the shows but they looked entertaining. Staff is friendly and the park clean. Nice gift shop too.

The park is kind of expensive for the things you get. It is more adapted for kids under 5. The food is expensive and not that great. The park was not very clean either.

We were having a great time for the first hour. The littles loved the carnival style rides. However, there was a breeze that started - and by breeze, I mean about 5-6 mph gusts max, and they closed ALL the rides…. The little jumping frogs, the mini mister truck tracks… ALL of it! We were there 90 minutes and had to leave due to the “wind”. Complete waste of our money. Unfortunately we won’t be back.
By the way, kids about 8 and over are too tall to ride most of the rides. It’s geared more towards 3-5 year olds.

Sat. July 25th, the train crossing rail broke, so that was annoying but oh well things happen. We go to the Nathan's Hot Dog at the entrance and get a cold nasty hot dog, with a stale bun. A cheeseburger that is like a rubber doggie chew toy and a watered down pepsi for nearly $18. Ok sure, park food is more expensive than the same airport food, but at least Nathan's at the airport is hotter, fresher, and more delicious than this garbage they serve at price gauging rates. Then we go to the cafeteria not long after this first nasty meal at Nathan's. Wow a cold skinny pizza for $4? The avocado turkey was nothing more than a stale hard piece of cardboard box bread, with 1 piece of turkey and some rotten avocado's for nearly $8. Again what a rip off. If you're gonna serve food, do it right, if you're not, then bring someone else in like Hershey does, Subway, Chick-Fil-A, Wendy's, Jersey Mikes...but this garbage they serve should be illegal. The kicker is, the place is not even that busy, and the young employee's are about the most unhappy and disgruntled people I've ever witnessed behind their masks. The men's room next to the Potato Shack, well on the metal hand rail, there is fecal matter smeared from someone who tried to reach the toilet paper hanging down from the dispenser onto the hand rail. I guess they talk about "COVID-19" cleaning and yet they can't even clean the restrooms properly. This was shortly after we entered around 10am, so that fecal was dried on there and never cleaned. I see the young manager walking around in his nice long sleeve shirt and dress pants, with dress shoes. I don't know what they pay him to do, unless he is the family owner walking around in the heat looking pretty. Just stay inside the A/C office and don't come out, if you're not going to check on your property. Oh, I guess he doesn't check the men's room for cleanliness? I guess he doesn't notice how "unfriendly" the employee's are either. For 4 hrs on a 2nd Saturday visit, I spent about nearly $100 coming up from D.C. with a season pass. The 2 cowboy hats we bought last Saturday, opening weekend, already tore apart this Saturday when the kids brought it up there to use it again. Probably better off taking your kids to a local beach.

I have been taking my children and grandchildren to this park for 50 years non stop. It is a perfect alternative to the big theme parks. Every ride is safe and fun and geared to a young age group….from about 2 or 3 up. Shows are good. Great characters. Everything is walkable. 12 years old is probably the limit, but my teenagers love taking the kids on rides. A great vacation with hotels and food within easy walking distance.

Went with my 10, 8, 3, and 7 month old. Wasn’t sure how the older ones would feel about it, but they’ve had fun at local carnivals..etc. older ones have been to Disneyland/world so they’ve experienced pinnacle theme park. Short of the long, they LOVED Dutch Wonderland. My 8 yr old son said it is by far his favorite amusement park and BETTER than DISNEY! not a joke. I think that is attributed to how walkable the park is, how there are rides at every turn, the park is well landscaped and the wait times to get on the rides is a fraction of what it would be at a major theme park. Yet, Dutch Wonderland has all the components of a major theme park , princesses, mascots, gift shop, monorail…etc, but it’s very quaint and family oriented.

The only reason I didn’t give DW 5 stars is bc they allow smoking in the park and the designated areas are still close enough by to annoy othe visitors.
Other than that this is an awesome amusement park for local families and those visiting Amish country! There are rides suitable for my youngest and oldest kids ages 7-17years old, we have a season pass nd often there are no lines at all. My older girls love the new roller coaster and my younger ones loves the shows and variety of great rides. They all love the water park!

Great place for small kids. Those around 9 or so would probably find it boring. My three year old granddaughter LOVED it. It was incredibly hot on the day that we visited but there is a lot of shade and the lines were quite short. We had researched in advance and knew about the waterpark so we took bathing suits and towels. Around lunchtime we went over and spent about an hour cooling off in the spray and splash park which was a terrific break to cool off. We had packed our own lunch so we simply went back to our car and cranked up the air conditioning and ate our lunch in the vehicle which gave the kids some time to rest. We went back in and had a great time until the little one’s battery ran out.
The park was very tidy and everyone was nice. I was surprised to have to pay to park. Even though we had read that they did not allow you to take food and drink into the park, because of Covid the water fountains were all shut down so you could bring drinks and light snacks into the park. That was great because I think we drank several gallons of water! The restaurants and snack bars would fill up your water bottle for you with icy cold water. That was a very nice benefit. Towards the end of the day, We found the mothers nursing room which was great. It was air-conditioned and gave my daughter time to breast-feed her six month old in a private and clean spot.
The changing rooms in the water park were sweltering, they should have had the ceiling fans running, but instead they were turned off. By the time we got both kids and ourselves into bathing suits we were nearly ready to pass out because of the heat in that stifling changing area. The bathroom just outside of the park behind the monorail building was truly disgusting and filthy. Try to wait if possible until you get in the park or go before you leave. Avoid that bathroom at all cost. Ewwwww. Otherwise the bathrooms were pretty decent.
If you plan your day and plan your trip, you can have a very good time with little ones there. I suggest you take your own lunch and leave it in a cooler in your car. Get your hand stamped so you can come back into the park after eating your lunch. Take water bottles and get them refilled in the park. Make use of the mothers nursing room if appropriate. Wish we would’ve found that earlier in the day.

First thing, long wait at the security check, is July 4th, paid another person to speed up the line. 2nd, ticket counter person cross off my2day flex ticket so when my family waited in line to get into the Park, the person scanning the ticket told us we already used one day. I told him this is the first day, we just got the tickets even show him the credit card receipt. he said no, day one is checked off so you can not use it tomorrow. I was confused and very annoyed, he told us to leave because we were arguing with him. We went back to the ticket counter asking the kid who sold us the ticket why he cross off the day 1 because the guy at the entry is suppose to do it. He then sends us to customer service, customer service staff had to walk us into the park and print out another set of ticket for us for day 2. This wasted over 30 min of our time in a hot day with a 4 n 2 year old. Is annoying, it was suppose to be stress free n fun day with my family. It only takes one time and a little thing like this to set a bad experience. We will not be back at DW after this weekend.

We took our grandsons ages 10 and 8 years old and the park was perfect for them. They could ride every ride (almost all 35 of them) as many times as they wanted to. There was several live shows going on all day. We got to see "The Frog Prince". We were told by someone working at the park if we sit in the first four rows we WILL get wet. That was where our grandsons wanted to sit so we all got wet and cooled off nicely. It was very hot that day.
Horrible experience
The person that was running, the merry-go-round was extremely rude. She was yelling at people. she was telling people to put their cell phones away. She yelled at my daughter to get on a horse and buckle up even though she was trying to hold my 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter on the horse. She actually stopped the ride after went around two times and yelled at people and told them to put their cell phones away, she singled out a woman and yelled at her as she got off the ride. For the price you pay to get in and the $22 parking I will never go there again . Paris want to take pictures of their children to remember the day. This woman should not be working with children.
