This was the BEST experience. E had never done anything like this before. Heather advised us on the best options for our group and was spot on.

I was so amazed at how many amazing gems and fossils there were. I loved wandering the store and seeing all the different types of rocks.

Love how they have expanded! More than just a gem mine! Local family favorite! There's something for the whole family to enjoy!

The view was amazing! We got to pet the animals and they have a beautiful playground for the kiddos. Definitely coming back with the family.

Took my 9yo, and 11yo twins here after seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor. As soon as we walked in, they were immediately in awe. First they looked around all the cool things at the store, then Reece set us up with the “big green buckets” for the mining. So much fun! Kids adored sifting through to find all their treasures, including HUGE geodes they each found with sugar quartz inside. The staff was excellent, especially Reece who spent a lot of time with my kids teaching them about the different stones and the processes they go thru to become “something special.” After we played on their obstacle course, looked at the creek, checked out the dinosaurs, and all the animal. Very cool experience, great staff. Highly recommend!

We’re having such a great time here!! What a quaint little place tucked in NC. It’s so exciting to have an experience together to share with my daughter and travel partner. We love to share new journeys and discoveries; this is just one of the many. Gem sifting and being surrounded by so many beautiful gems has been something I’ve wanted to do for so long! This is my first time and it’s a pleasure to have it be here! Feeding the fish was a bonus! The trip from Florida was so worth being surrounded by such great energy, beautiful pieces, and yummy tacos! (There’s a taco available too!) Totally worth the trip.

Great family stop! Little outdoor porch area to grab a beer while kids play games or learn about gems. Good deals too. And animals!

Love this GEM of a spot! Every time I come up to the area (about 3-4 times a year), I stop in here. I enjoy the large selection of stones/minerals. Staff are friendly. Prices are reasonable. I definitely recommend a stop here if you are interested in this sort of thing. Not a tourist trap, very enjoyable!

Such a fun, cute place! Did a big bucket of sand and filled two full ziploc bags full of gems! Our 4yo was over the moon. The chickens walk through the store and it’s a real fun experience.

My experience at the Elijah gem mine was the best. Especially my experience dealing with Reece. He even sang Happy Birthday 🎁 to me because it was birthday. Kayne was hilarious and Joe was very helpful and knowledgeable about the gems. But my fav was Reece❤️

Went there yesterday with my husband and daughter. Wish I knew about this place when my kids were younger! We had a blast despite the facts that it was rainy, we didn't do mining, and one of the goats tried to eat the sleeve of my shirt - LOL! The staff was super friendly, one guy in particular was super knowledgeable about the crystals, and the prices were very reasonable compared to other shops we've been to. We especially liked watching the guy crack open a big rock and see the beautiful crystals shine inside! My daughter is very into crystals, and we spent about 2 hours looking around this big place! We have plans to go back again this week!!😊

What a blast. Peacocks, goats and gem mining. Also has a on site draft tap room for a delicious beer treat. Plenty of places for the kids to play, but keep an eye on them, steep spots and rocks.
We got the largest bucket to let the kids go nuts and found so much great gems. They even crack the largest ones for you. It was worth the trip.

A lot of interesting things for kids that they beg to buy. You can only say no so many times! Did the rock mining but they had rare coins, furs, toys, etc.

We went as a family to celebrate my daughter’s 6th birthday and she had an amazing time! Heather was so helpful answering my questions in advance to make sure she had a nice experience; she had everything already set up for us when we arrived. The girls got tons of gems, many of a substantial size. it was well worth the cost.

Got the smallest mining bucket, but it was totally still worth it! Super satisfying experience, and the store was so neat to walk around. I especially loved how they had the uses listed with the different stones.

This is a fun thing to do with family. I had a great time sifting through the gems while being able to spend time with my teen. It gives you a chance to have a fun bonding experience without electronics.

This experience was significantly overrated. It's not really a "goat farm". There is one pen that has goats and you can pay an additional $3 fee to feed them. The area is very small- definitely not a walking tour.
The front desk staff were rude and unfriendly. They mostly ignored us, gestured to the buckets of gems for mining and then barely acknowledged us when we brought the empty bucket back. They clearly weren't interested in trying to make sure we had a good experience.
Your money is way better spent at a place where you can spend more time and actually get something useful at the end.

Place was great! Got a lot of cool gems! Love that it’s indoor and outdoor. Fed the goats! Saw a peacock!! Went home with tons of stones! Would come again!!!

This is the most comprehensive gem store that I have ever visited! When I have free time I roam above picking beautiful items for my potted plants both indoor and outdoor.

Wasn’t quite sure what this place would be about but seemed like it might be fun. It was a blast. 10 to 75 all enjoyed greatly. Panning was neat and the shop was unique.

This was my 1st time "mining" for gems from a bucket & this place is so fun, we stopped by again on our way home! It was exciting to find all of the pretty rocks in our buckets! The attached rock store is amazing, with a nearly incomprehensible selection in all price ranges. I don't get the opportunity to visit rock stores often but I thought the prices of the amethysts here were lower than what I've seen in other stores.

Don't miss the dinos out back, and we saw a peacock. Also a playground for kids to blow off some steam. The people working here couldn't have been nicer. We were there for about an hour each time. If you like rocks, this place is not to be missed!

You can spend all day here! There is so much to see and do. The store has a wide variety of items and at reasonable prices.
This is a must for any family visiting the area!

Great field trip for our homeschool kids kids had loads of fun! Got to see them opening a geode had fun seeing the chickens running around inside the store and outside.

Reese was so helpful with our 1st time experience. Highly recommend if in Hendersonville. He also suggested a great winery, lunch place and Falks to visit that were all nearby and made our day trip memorable. Feeding the goats was so fun. Definitely worth a trip back !!!

I came to Hendersonville on a trip for my birthday. I have been to this town many times but this was the first time i discovered Elijah Mountain. It is so amazing! A great selection of beautiful crystal pieces, and the cutest mini farm! Will definitely be coming back!

Our family had the best time. Our kids are 11, 12 and 17. They loved mining for stones. They came home with a big variety. The store is also amazing.

We got sooooo many gems! Two green giants and a big honking tub. With a geode in each! Even bought some gem bracelets and a fill -a-chest. Loved the indoor section for the panning to get out of the cold.

Really a nice place to bring your children. Fun things to do and reasonable prices. Fed the goats, played in the stream and obstacle course. My grandson loved “mining” for gemstones and looking at the items in the gift shop.

Enjoyed a lovely picnic in a cute setting, had a beautiful time chatting with the chickens, then headed inside. The staff were super accommodating and nice, it was our anniversary and they honored tickets from quite a while ago that had been lost, and refound! Got some goodies from the miners bucket-- great value for what I would have paid! Then I enjoyed walking around and looking at the gem stones. There's brews and ice cream for some pre road snacks! 10/10 would recommend.

The woman helping us was incredibly knowledgeable, answering all our questions and sharing fun facts about the different stones. She was also very friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. It’s a great spot for families, and the kids had a blast learning and exploring. We took a family trip to NC. Elijah Mountain Gem Mine was one of our stops not really knowing what to expect. Age range for our family is 40’s - 16yrs. We had a great time mining for gems and all loved our hauls! I purchased a family of 4 and also got 3 large geodes which they cracked open for us and are beautiful! My brother and his family also purchased a bucket with a large beautiful cracked open geode! We were really happy to have made this stop! The shop is amazing as well and you can feed goats! Highly recommend stopping here! Pictured is just my haul from one bucket!

Compared to the other place we visited this is by far the best deal! Buckets are already filled with gems that are worth finding! They are also so much bigger than the other minings I have been to! My son was equally ecstatic to find each one that was in his bucket. The gems found are big enough to be created into jewelry pieces. We also love the additional animal sanctuary and gift shop. They also have cards to stamp to get freebies once the cards stamped full.

Amazing staff! Absolutely a blast! Bring the kids, they'll love how many gems you get mining. Value is more than there. Asked staff member what the best value was and he didn't steer us wrong in the least. Over 6 sandwich bags of gems AND two baseball size geodes about $65. Their gift shop has SOOO many amazing things and very fairly priced. Don't have kids? Bring your partner out for an amazing time. We were here for a couple hours and bringing my son next time, for sure!

Everyone is very friendly and it's a wonderful place to take your family. There are things to do for all ages. Not only can you add to your gem collection, there is a place to have a picnic and for the kids to play. Their stones are also decently priced. It is my family's tradition to come.

Another great time at this place. Worth a 2-hour drive! Kids loved the adventure course, seeing the free-range chickens, the store, and of course the gem mining, even though we'd done all these things before. ❤️

Easily the best Rock shop in town. Their selection is great and their prices are reasonable for a shop like this.

Your mileage may vary, but there are often some great specimens in their clearance section to check out.

We got very pretty rocks and the staff was so kind. My kid loved all of the Dinosaur statues as well as everything else. Great thing to do with kids.

Stopped in to see if this would be a place to check out with the kids. I really loved what I saw and also grabbed a few mementos. I didn’t get a chance to check out the mining buckets experience but I checked out the shop and I’ll say their prices were good for what I saw. They also had quite a good bit that was on sale at the moment. I will be back with the family to get the full experience!

Our family loves going to this store any time we are in Hendersonville. The prices are hard to beat! As a teacher, I always like to have examples of minerals. fossils, and historical artifacts that go along with our science and history units! The owner, Dean, was incredibly helpful and told us all about the unique pieces we were purchasing!

Our three kids enjoy feeding the goats out back and seeing the chickens, ducks, and peacocks. We didn’t have time for the gem mine but we will definitely have to do that next time! We had a great time and will be back!

I visited with my son who LOVED the gem mining. We enjoyed feeding the goats and photographing the other animals. Not sure how we're going to haul all of our new rocks home, but we'll figure it out! Definitely a fun activity for the younger ones!

This is a wonderful place for families! The kids loved mining for beautiful stones and went home with bags of amazing finds! They also have beautiful rocks,stones, jewelry for sale. Plus beer and wine for the parents!

This place is a must for families! Our bucket for gem mining left us with 4 stuffed bags of gems along with a giant geode. The staff are friendly and the extra activities such as the goats and obstacle course were a hit with my kids.

This place NEVER disappoints! I came here 4 years ago while traveling and now we are back again! 5 hour trip to get here is worth it!

Brought my grandson for his birthday and we had the best time. So impressed with the staff and the store and we did the green giant and got sooo many gems and fossils and a huge geode!

A fun gem mine with covered seating. I love that there was plenty of space for families so no one was hunched over a tray. Instead we all got to sit and watch as the kids mined their gems. The buckets our kids got had plenty of gems and kept them entertained. The store was a fun collection of things as well

We took our 4 year old and 7 year old here and had a blast. Finding gems, chasing chickens, feeding goats, and playing in the creek. Definitely worth the visit!

The 3 small bags on the right are what I paid $119 The large bag bags on the left are I paid $100 for at Pisgah gem mine. +3 huge clusters, And three geodes which I paid a lot less for.l plus 3 more bags of gems. Sometimes the trip matters when you have more invested employees that are willing to teach and show people instead of just taking their money …I went to Mount Elijah thinking it would be a good experience as per trip advisor and left and drove 20 minutes up the road don’t waste your money on Mt Elijah… it’s a tourist trap. As an avid gem collector, you can buy everything in their gift shop online for cheaper… The two young men working at Pisagh gem and mine were very interested and eager in teaching young children and anybody about The gems that they were finding …. And that made all the difference in the world. Compared to Mt Elijah, where they were only worried about your credit card… They took time with my granddaughter… taught her about gems , wrapped her finds that she wanted and cracked her geodes for her …. Kudos to great customer service and to the 2 young men working there today!!! We willl be back at Pisagh in the future

Searched for gem mines close to me and found this place. It’s super awesome! Loved the store, merchandise and bought way too much!

We drove from Florida the week before Thanksgiving to stay at the Biltmore. We wanted to support the community after Helene. We ventured out to Elijah's Mountain Gem Mine and Goat Farm in Hendersonville which is a short drive from the Biltmore. Our experience was spectacular. We had no problems finding and driving to Elijah's. We had so much fun panning for rocks, looking around the shop, visiting the animals and talking with Dean, the owner. We had our 11 year old granddaughter with us who is very well traveled. She said, "this is the most fun I have ever had any place we have gone!" Considering she is a season ticket holder to Disney and has been on a number of cruises, that is high praise indeed. Elijah's is ready for visitors and has the most amazing array of gems and rocks. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. If I could, I would give Elijah's a thousand stars...and that still would not be enough.

Great experience every time we go! We love going rain or shine we enjoy the atmosphere. We will continue to come in the future.

Had a blast with my family at this gem mine!! It was our first time here, and we were had the best time searching for precious stones. Toddler approved! Feeding the goats and playing in the stream was a happy plus! Def recommend. Will return when in the area.

This mine is amazing. The staff and owner are very friendly and helpful. We so enjoyed getting our bucket, washing and bringing home native NC raw gemstones. We had a blast gem mining today and found some great finds! We got two buckets to mine and found a lot of interesting stones. We also had so much looking at all the treasures in the gem mining store.

A lot of fun! I did the green bucket and got a cool geode and a bunch of other gemstones. The store itself is massive and has a huge selection, and has a great sale section.

My kids (ages 8, 11, and 13) all had a blast mining for gems. Each bucket had a generous amount of large gems. There are indoor and outdoor areas to mine, so this would also be a great activity on a rainy day. The treasure hunt and goats were great too! Great spot! They have everything! An amazing gift shop that has rocks, jewelry, pirate stuff, toys and candy. They have a small bar with beer and wine options and lots of mining options. They also have a cool kids play area outside and a small spot with chickens, peacocks and goats that you can feed. We spent 2 hours here with our kids who are 3 and 5 and they loved it.

Been in the area a week and this is the most entertaining place yet and the kids love it! The crystal shop is amazing, the buckets are a lot of fun and the outdoor area is so beautiful. The kids loved the animals and exploring. A must go!

The place had been reorganized. It is easy to walk around. The amount and variety of crystals is fantastic. They also have a massive clearance section, which is always great. But I think the best thing of all happens to be feeding and petting the goats. I could just be biased because I absolutely love animals.

Great experience shoveling dirt and stuff. The shop is also really interesting with many things that are shiny and just a pleasant sight to see. I have been coming back a few times and it's great every single time.

Super fun stop. We have gone sifting for gems with the kids before but Elijah's is the most fun by a long shot. We got a green bucket and the kids had a blast finding all the rocks and fossils. We loved feeding the goats and seeing the peacocks. The staff here are really nice and we enjoyed the slack line, play area and interesting shop full of pretty gems.

Great selection of rocks, minerals and gems located just outside of Hendersonville. Definitely worth a stop whether you are a solo rockhound or have a family in tow, I just enjoyed their shop, but they have some opportunities to find your own stuff to. Solid reputation with locals, check it out.

OMG how much fun!!! My 75 year old husband and my 17 year old daughter as well as myself had a blast!! We are only in the area 3 more days and have already decided to come back before we leave. I went on a trip to NC, literally just to shop at this mine for my business. Joe, one of the managers, is the most wonderful man, helpful in every way. I work with Joe even when I am away from the mine and, even though they are always busy, he always takes the time to help me find all I need and I never feel like a bother. They have a phenomenal selection, very well picked and placed out. Store is always clean and the staff always makes me feel like family. I would definitely recommend a stop here for they never disappoint.

So glad we found this place! Our kids are obsessed with gems lately and this did not disappoint. The little playground and farm area was great to keep our 2 year old preoccupied while the others dug through their gems.

This was a fabulous place! And by far the best activity our granddaughters, ages 7 and 9, did on our vacation. They loved the gem mining and found some beautiful stones, and then the dinosaur sculptures, stream to wade through, balance beam and climbing apparatus added to the fun! They also loved the goats and seeing the beautiful peacock! The people here were helpful and friendly too. We are so happy to found this great place!!

I loved the gem mine store in itself. The people and products are really great. However on a bad note the little bar that’s inside is not a place to visit. As I was shopping in the gem store my husband bought us a couple bottled drinks. When we tried to pay the woman that was serving us said the internet is running slow no worries she would close it up for us. Well when we got home to our surprise on our bill she decided to up charge us for more that we got and add on her own tip. So right now we are disputing this with the credit card, 😮 I have to say she seemed so nice. Goes to show you can not trust people anymore.
