8 of 59 Best Attractions in Estes Park

Quick and easy ride to the top. Amazing views and great place for photographs. Love that there is a cafe and shop up at the top and access to trails.

The view was good, and there was a hike to the summit, for a nice workout, where the cable guy gave us some sunflower seeds to feed the ground squirrels from our hands.

We went on the tram in early September in the morning and the attraction was not crowded at all and it was a beautiful , clear day. There is a lower rate for seniors. There is one car going up and one coming down and about 8 people can go in a car. The ride up is magnificent, you see the mountains, town and all the fantastic scenery. At the top there is (of course) a gift shop, but there is also a path where you can stand and enjoy the scenery as long as you like. It gets very windy up there, so a jacket is recommended. The ride down is just as beautiful.

We enjoyed the views on the ride and after arriving up on the mountain. There is a trail for hiking up there. The snack shop has good coffee.
The wait to get on the tram was extremely long. We waited almost an hour. It was very crowded on the tram and if you’re short and stuck in the middle of the tram, you won’t see much.

The tram is really worth it if you want to see amazing views. The ride is smooth and only takes 5 minutes. The guides are informative and friendly. At the top, the hike is easy, and there are plenty of chipmunks waiting for a handout. They sell unsalted peanuts in the gift shop. Really a treasure.

The tram offers great views of Estes Park. Once on the top, you can take a fairly easy (wide dirt road) hike to the top of the mountain. It’s relatively steep, so the challenge was more in adjusting to the elevation/lack of oxygen. I recommend you arrive right when they open because the line gets long fast. The trams (there are 2) run constantly, so once you are up you can stay as long as you like.
One thing they failed to market is the PEANUTS! The coffee shop at the top sells bags of peanuts for a couple bucks. BUY THE PEANUTS!! The rocks are teeming with hungry chipmunks that will literally take the peanuts from your hands. It’s the cutest thing EVER!!

Enjoyed the gift shop. Appreciated the seniors discount. My brother and sister in law enjoyed urchading the peanuts on the gift shop and feeding the chip munks from a bench

Long wait, short trip, great views. Gondolas carry only ten at a time, so the long line moves slowly.

Go ride the Aerial Tramway! The view is amazing. Best time to go is right when they open. Up top you can see for ever. They have a gift shop and a coffee shop up top. Considering that is the only "store" the prices are pretty reasonable. By a bag of peanuts from the coffee shop and feed the chipmunks! They are so cute and will take it right out of you're hand. You can hike and picnic up there. GO! You won't be disappointed!

The guide on the tram was very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out many sites on the way up. On the top is a nice gift shop that serves snacks and drinks. Many trails and view points on top as well

We were able to get tickets for opening day (May 25, 2024).
The ride is only 5 minutes to the top. Not much to do up there, you can walk 3/4 mile to the summit. After 2 years of going without human beings, the chipmunks are nowhere to be seen. If you are patient they will eventually come out of hiding!
Anyway it's a fun activity in Estes Park, particularly after 3 days of hiking at RMNP.

Beautiful views at the top and way up. Kids liked feeding the wildlife up top will go again. Clean facilities and friendly helpful staff.

Unfortunately, we chose to use this service the day after July 4th and the lines were excessive. A nice ride up to peak and wonderful views. But then another lengthy line to get back down.

We took our 14-year-old daughter and two friends in the morning and we had a great time. The line was long but moved fairly quickly. There are a gift shop and restaurant at the top of the mountain. More importantly, there are lovely views and lots to explore. You can stay on the mountain as long as you would like and then take the tram back down at your convenience. We had a lot of fun and took lots of great pictures.

I had heard the lines for the tram were so long so we went on a Monday and had no problem. There is a great little coffee shop at the top. The views were amazing.

This is a must in Estes Park. Gorgeous views all the way around and the ride to the top is great! Definitely get the peanuts in the gift shop so you can feed some chipmunks at the top!

Had been coming to Estes Park on and off for fifty years. My daughter insisted that we try the tram. it is well run with a friendly staff but the view was less than spectacular...though we spend most of our time in the park on the the trails.

We ride the tram every time we are in Estes Park and are always happy with it. You need to get there early to avoid a long wait, as the trams only hold 6 to 8 people. Big views from up top. Easy place to find behind the hospital. Fun.

We started off our morning at Estes Park Aerial Tramway. We got their about 30min prior to it opening and thank goodness we did because the line was very long by the time we got back down. The staff was friendly. The ride was amazing and the view was beautiful. We did a little shopping at the top and ordered some great tasting coffee and drank it outside while we sunk in the amazing scenery. We then did a little climbing and hiking, took some pictures, and my daughter fed the chipmunks (you buy the peanuts in the store). The chipmunks came right up the her hand and would take the nuts right out of her hand. Overall it was an amazing experience.

Our group included my parents (age 72), myself and husband (40's), and our four teen/adult kids (22, 20, 18, and 16). Everyone enjoyed our trip up the tramway. We though it might just be a nice view, but it was so much more. We climbed to the summit (tough climb in the sun) and were rewarded with a 360 degree view of Estes and the mountains all around us. My 20-year-old love sitting and watching the chipmunks - and trying to feed them. All around - this one was even better than we expected.

Really enjoyed the ride to the top and back to the bottom! Nice little shop at the top and great lemon cake and coffees!

I was the mom who made her family of 5 wait in line to go up the tramway in the rain. No chipmunks. 76$ down the drain. And whiny wet kids. Don't be me. To be fair, it was raining the whole time. If it's raining at all, do not do this. If it's a beautiful day, and you really want to wait in a long line to go up a small gondola to look back on Estes Park, then ok. But if you are going into Rocky Mountain National Park, you're going to drive up bigger mountains with better views, and it will cost you a lot less. And you can feed the chipmunks at the pull out at the Estes Park entrance sign on the way into or out of town (and that is free).

cost $16 for an adult and you can stay up there as long as you want. bring a lunch! there are tables

We had one day on our vacation schedule planned for this activity. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately it happened to be 35 degrees (after a week of 80 degree days). It turned out to be a perfect day going up on the tram; very few people and a lovely calm day albeit a little chilly. But because of the snow that fell overnight we got some beautiful pictures and had a very relaxing hike.
Im not in the best shape but took the summit trail and took my time and got there and back in 45 minutes. Perfect day.

This was well worth the small line. You really get an awesome view of Estes Park! Besides you can feed chipmunks at the top!

The ride was so smooth, and when you get to the top - WOW!!! The mountain views are breathtakingly beautiful!! I couldn't believe it! That alone was well worth it the money and 15 minute wait. Then around the corner is a coffee shop with delicious offerings and some great trails with lots of cute chipmunks. If you've got the time, this is a MUST do!!

This was our 2nd time here. Without kids we went the extra mile? To the summit on a wide gravel access road. We had the place to ourselves. Several friendly chipmunks investigated. I wish we had brought them some peanuts from the gift shop. There is a cell tower at the summit so we got great reception and I called my mom from the top of Prospect Mountain. Arriving at 12:30, we still had to wait an hour to get on a tram, but it was worth it. The line was short when we came down at 4:00, but we had too wait a few minutes for the winds to die down. That might be a concern later in the afternoon. Smooth ride up and back.

This is a great place to visit if you're in the area was impressed with the smooth and quick tram the views are amazing and inspiring can see for miles. the walk to the top is a little challenging but if your not in to that it's still great at the snack and souvenir shop and the views are great at the landing so no worries fun for the whole family. We loved it

We loved this! It’s a brief ride to the top. The view is beautiful. Our teens loved feeding the chipmunks at the top. It was truly a highlight of our 5-day trip!

The family had a great time riding the tram and exploring at the top. Kids ages 16, 13, 10 and 2 adults. The kids enjoyed climbing the rocks once at the top of the mountain. It's a nice hike to the top for us novice hikers! It's a very good value for the money. Definitely recommend.

My boys, 16 and 13 years old, really love to this when in Estes Park. Make sure you have some quarters available for the coin operated binoculars at the top. Also, wear tennis shoes, hiking shoes or sandals such as keens or chacos. Flip flops are not fun when trying to climb on the rocks. Bags of peanuts can be purchased at the top in the gift shop (to feed the chipmunks) for $2.50. Also, don’t forget to visit the coffee shop in the back of the gift shop- they have a wonderful iced salted caramel coffee! Most important- go in the morning and more chipmunks will come out to get peanuts from you! They are so cute!

Fun day trip. Tram is very smooth and stable. View from the top is breathtaking. Price was very reasonable we thought. A true Estes Park original!

I have gone on the tramway several times over the last 10 years. Everytime my family is wowed by the views of Estes Park and the surrounding valley. There are also trails that lead to the top of Prospect Mountain.

We went on the Estes Park Aerial Tramway and loved it! We have 2 almost 7 year olds and a 4 year old and they really liked it. The 4 year old couldn’t really see but they had a little fold down bench that they operator let him kneel on so he could see out the window. Everyone was very friendly and nice. I would recommend going first thing in the morning to avoid waiting in line. When we got there there was hardly anyone in the parking lot and by the time we got back down after spending about 30 minutes at the top it was full.

After a long wait in line (1 1/2 hours) we were on our way to the peak of Prospect Mountain. It was worth the wait! Great views of EP and RMNP with its snow capped peaks. Very impressive engineering especially that it has been maintained since 1955! Such a cool experience.

Get there early and ride in the morning. We spent about an hour at the top. The kids had a great time feeding the chipmunks. Be sure to take peanuts in the shell. They sell snacks and drinks at the top. Beautiful views of the town.

Great activity for the family and the views are breathtaking! There are coin-operated binoculars at the top which give a fairly long view for a quarter (several cousins were able to share). The cafe and gift shop at the top both had a good selection.

Very cool old tramway. Cost is a little high but worth it. Views down on Estes Park were great. Once at the top, you can hike up the mountain for an even better view.

Not expensive and pretty awesome. There might be a long line, but it's it's worth it. You can see everything from the top. Plus, there's good food and coffee at the restaurant up top. You can sit down and take in the views with food/coffee. A must if you're in Estes Park.

Family of six adults all enjoyed. Little disappointed on condition of buildings etc at top, but worth the trip

The long lines suck, but once your on top the view us worth the wait. Coffee house on top with snacks and drinks.

This tram offers beautiful sweeping views of the area which make it worthwhile. A bit pricey in my opinion. Not spectacular, but if looking for something to do, the views are nice.

The aerial tramway was certainly a highlight of our visit to Estes Park. The facility was in excellent condition and quite welcoming. The service was expedient and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly and knowledgeable. We had great weather the day of our experience which made for many awesome pictures below, on the way up, and up top. Don’t forget to visit the gift and coffee shop at the summit.

This place is beautiful the trams are cool but don’t be scared of heights because there are windows and the lines as re very long but worth the wait they have squirels that you can feed with peanuts that are 1$ at the gift shop

Great views from the top. Take your time, kick back. several nice hiking trails or treat the wildlife with a few peanuts. Parking is very good.

Fun ride, worth the nominal cost and the views are stunning. The ride is totally safe but excitingly scary. DO THIS! You will survive and be proud you did.

Fun relaxing way to spend a few hours. Staff was nice and trail to the top was well maintained. Great views of Estes Park and Longs Peak.

The first time we went they had wind advisors and we couldn't go up. Went back and were in line about 40 minutes, but the views are worth it. Beautiful views of the mountains, Estes Park and the valley. Everyone should ride it at least once.

The little one loved feeding peanuts to the chipmunks. But the food options were limited. It rained a bit so we sat and had a small snack but little ones don't eat paninis and it would have been nice to have a hotdog or regular grilled cheese or chicken nugget option. Long lines and only 2 trams. The ride is fast and the long lines make it hard on small children. Do buy the $2 bag of peanuts as it is the best part of the experience....that and climbing on the rocks.

When we arrived and got in line, we found out how small the gondolas were and how relatively short the ride seemed to be. We decided to do it anyway and it was worth the admission. Nice views and shop at the top. Be sure to let kids buy some peanuts and feed the chipmunks!!

By reading the other reviews we knew to get their early to avoid the crowds. Once our tickets were purchased we waited about 15 minutes before we got loaded. The trip up takes about 5 minutes and when you get to the top there are a couple of trails. We took the trail to the top (which there are numerous towers and satellite dishes but not much of a view due to the surrounding trees. It was about a 20 minute walk. Once there, back down and watch people feed the chipmunks. There is a great view from the tram station but other than that, nothing else to do. We waited 5 minutes for the trip down. I think it was worth the time and money but don't have any great expectations or you'll be disappointed.

Friendly crew on the way up, and the Cafe employees at top was SUPER friendly. Don’t miss this easy tram ride!
The store up top is pleasantly not overpriced. Get the peanuts and feed the chipmunks. TRY to walk to the summit (it’s far). Don’t take any shortcuts on the way down or you’ll be halfway down the mountain looking up at the visitor center.

We waited an hour and unfortunately just didn’t feel the ride was worth the time or money. We wouldn’t recommend this — especially if you will be hiking in RMNP. Way better views to be had in there!

Great value and views. Nice gift and coffee shop at the top. We saw a deer and chipmunk. Definitely worth the time and cost.

A quick ride up and down the mountain and some hiking at the top. The tram guides didn't know anything about the mountains we could see- like even their names- so that could've been better. But they got us up and down safely and quickly, and it was cool to hike around at the top.

The staff was friendly. The ride was fun. The views at the top were amazing! We loved climbing on the rocks for great sights and it made for wonderful pictures.

$10-14 per person takes yo up to 8000 or so ft. Not much to see up there unless you are looking for a good view of the lake or the city. Take a hike in RMNP instead!!

the day was not perfect for us to go up there. It was cloudy and starting to rain, but we decided to get the aerial tram anyway. It was totally worth it! Great views, and nice hiking in the top of the mountain (we have got some snow even being the second day of summer). The coffee shop there is also great! My daughter loved to feed the chipmunks.

We ride the tram up on a Thursday afternoon around 2. There was no line and we rode right up. The employees said it was because schools were all back in. Late August seems like a great time to visit because we had little waits anywhere. We purchased peanuts and fe d the chipmunks right out if our hands. My son loved it!

Loved the views this ride gave us. Great experience and will be doing this again when we come back next year!

Fun way to experience the Rockies! Fun for all ages. Coffee shop and Gift Shop at the top. Feed peanuts to chipmunks. View Estes Park from atop Prospect Mountain.

This was such a great family activity! So fun riding the tram to the top and the kids loved feeding the chipmunks! We hiked all the way to the summit which was a little more than we expected but so worth the view from the top.

This is a great excursion! At the top of the ride, there is a great view and and about a mile of walking trail. There's also a coffee shop and a gift shop. The tram ride back down is awesome!

The kids loved it when they were 10 years old and again at 20 years old. Well worth the money and time to make it to the top. Give yourself some time to hike around the top. Ask your driver questions they have fun facts about the location, history and how the line works.

$32 for a ride up the hill. There was nothing spectacular up there. A few chipmunks. A gift shop like the one in the lobby.

This was a ton of fun. The views were spectacular. The staff was very friendly and fun to interact with. Highly recommended to anyone looking for something fun to do in Estes Park.

This is a great way to get a good view of the town of Estes Park. We arrived earlier than opening time (as recommended by others) and so we were second in line. It's a quick trip up in the tram. It was pretty cool up top when we got there. Looked around a bit, took some pictures and then return below to enjoy other attractions in the area. You don't need much time up there unless you plan on hiking. Recommend closed shoes should you choose to walk further that the viewing platform.

The whole experience was wonderful, other than the weather, which, of course, they have no control over. The price is reasonable and the employees are so great! My friend uses a cane so the employee who loaded us both ways made sure she had a seat in the car. The views are awesome!

This looks great on paper...But the pricing tarnished the reality of the experience for us. I don't care if someone makes a profit but this is way overpriced for what you get. As an alternative , Drive through the park, or take a drive north toward Glen Haven. There's a place there famous for cinnamon rolls. And..the vistas returning to Estes Park are far superior...and free. Also worth mentioning...if many people decide to leave at the same time...it's a long wait to get back down ..nearly an hour for us. That's an hour that could have been spent elsewhere.

We got there right before they opened to avoid a long line. It was a little pricey for the ride. At the top, buy peanuts and feed the chipmunks. They will take the peanuts right from your hands.

The tram is not that high or long, but it does have a long history as a tourist attraction, so it's kind of fun to do the ride. There is a long wait, as there are only two cars, one going up while the other comes down, and the space is limited to around 10 people per car. The view is nice from the top, but there's really not anything great to look at in downtown Estes Park. If you are not going to RMNP, this is a good thing for the kids, but you can skip it if you are going to the park.

The tram ride up the side of the mountain is breathtaking and the view from the top is spectacular. Also the restaurant and gift shop offers some very tasty treats. Very reasonable in price and a fun adventure.

I heard about the tram from my Mom who went up it when she was 5 in the early 60's. We decided that it was a good way to start out our first day in Estes Park since we could check out the whole area from the top. It was a nice relaxing way to initiate our trip. We loved the view and the ride up and the staff were friendly and genuine. The gift shop had super reasonable/ fun souvenirs ($13 for a t-shirt). This is especially good for adventurous kids.

$14 price is reasonable but the queueing is LONG. It opened at 9.00 and by 9.15 the queue was back across the parking lot in a straight line. It took me 90mins to actually get up the mountain. They take 7-9 people at a time and the cars come around every 5 mins. Once you get to the top there is the usual coffee and gift shop but there are also some trails. I followed the mud/gravel trail to the summit and then back down again. It took me an hour to walk up enjoy the views and take lots of photos and head down again. There are no unobstructed views of the mountains but it was still worth the climb. I wish there had been signs letting you know how far it was to the top. Also at the summit there are no signs or seating areas just electric and communications towers. I think many people just go around the outside of the coffee shop for the views, but after waiting so long I wanted to make the most of the trip at the top. It would have also have been nice to have signs telling you what you could see. And how long it takes to get to the ride when you are so far in the queue like they do at the big theme parks. With only 2 cars there will always be queueing.

Family enjoyed our time with this, it was a long wait but that was to be expected. We met some fun people while waiting in line.

The wait was a little long, but it was worth it. Since the tram hs limited space only a few can board each one. The view from the top was worth every minute we spent waiting. there is a great coffee shop at the top. There is also a gift shop with a big variety of items. I would highky recommend this trip if you are in the area. I don't think you will be disappointed.

No line if you come while it’s raining! 😉 Great views, coffee shop at the top. We couldn’t check out the trails at the top due to rain.

The views were amazing and we would definitely recommend this trip. The only negative was the hour long wait to ride. If you have the time, it’s a lovely hike at the top.

This experience was better than I expected. I have been on many aerial rides, so I was not expecting too much. At the top is a small coffee shop and souvenir shop. Then there are also trails to climb.

The line to ride the gondola can get long fast. Come early. My kids enjoyed feeding the chipmunks and the views were nice

Great, five minute ride to the top, with great views of the entire Estes valley and Rocky Mountain National Park. A nice little gift and snack shop on the top. Only drawbacks were a pretty long wait to board (45 minutes-ish), and bad weather hit which made it less pleasant than in the past when we did it in better weather. But if you have a couple hours and want breathtaking views, this is a great opportunity.

Besides hiking and shopping, the Aerial Tramway is a pleasant option while in Estes Park. The wait can be long, but the trip up the mountain while short, is nice and the views on top are excellent. Once on top, there is space for picnicking and hiking, though no trails. The kids enjoyed all of the rocks that they could climb. About an hour on top worked well for our family group.

This is a must do and worth the time and money. Spectacular views. If you are able, walk to the summit which requires some good shoes. Take your time since you can take any tram back down the mountain.

A real easy ride Very smooth. I’m afraid of Heights but this did not bother me at all. I couldn’t pass up the view. Well worth the 15 bucks. There’s a gift shop at the top but a unique shop in the depot at the bottom not to be missed. My husband found a cool tee shirt that we did not see at any of the shops in town.

Loved this open air tram. The views were spectacular! My only issues were that we had to wait a long time and that there were not so many chipmunks at the top. But the view/ride and coffee at the top was awesome!

The tram was not something we had in our plans but after spotting it going up the mountain we couldn’t resist. So glad we did it! The line can be long on the weekend so plan to spend a little time waiting but it will be worth the wait. The view from the top is spectacular and even with all the people there is plenty of room for everyone to take in the beautiful views. There is also a cafe at the top to get a cup of coffee, smoothie or snack. Lots of fun and would highly recommend.

Breathtaking views. Take peanuts to feed the chipmunks and Clark's Nutcrackers. Walk arround and enjoy nature. Get a coffee and food at the cafe.

The line is LONG if you don't get there early. Stretching into the parking lot long. But it is worth it. The views are spectacular and it is a great place to take pics. Chipmonks everywhere.

The tram ride itself isn't anything special. It lasts ~2-3 minutes. You can purchase bags of peanuts at the gift shop for feeding the chipmunks at the top. The views up top of Estes Park are great!

We were unable to get into the park due to crowds so this served as a nice diversion.
I probably would not have waited in line for an hour but my daughter really wanted to go so we did. I enjoyed the views and my (adult) daughter really did enjoy feeding the squirrels and chipmunks. I appreciated being able to get a cup of decent coffee at cafe on the top. We also did the hike to the top - not a big hike by any means but few people made itup there so it was pleasant to have some peace at the top of the mountain.

This was the first thing we did in town. The view was amazing. At the top was a store and many trails and rocks to climb on and you can buy peanuts to feed the chipmunks which were everywhere and sooo cute! Did not have much of a wait to get on and go to the top but did have a wait to get down. Great place to visit though!

We followed the advice of other reviews and arrived early. The tram was a nice stable ride up and down the mountain, which was nice since I find these rides a bit nerve wracking. The views were stunning and well worth the short wait. We enjoyed the experience.

Was a bit expensive for not going that far to see the surrounding view. But it sure is pretty there so might be worth your time and money to take the trip.

Great ride to the top of the mountain and nice little trails to walk around on. Awesome views of Estes Park and a snack bar at the top.

The ride to the summit is quick and breathtaking! Great picture taking options. We were there the second week in June and it was chilly. Recommend bringing a jacket.

You should go early in the day! We arrived at 9:30 and had an hour wait to ride up to the top. We spent about an hour and a half and then waited another 45 mins to ride down. It is worth it for the views and the friendly chipmunks. They have peanuts to purchase to feed them. If you sit very still they will eat from your hand.

If you don’t plan to take the scenic drive around trail ridge or spend time in the Rocky Mountains, then definitely take the tram and see the views. There are some nice little gift shops and eateries at the top. Be prepared for the wait to ascend and descend down the mountain. You can spend up to 2 hours of your day waiting to go to and fro. I suggest skipping the tram if you have the opportunity to see views otherwise.

At $14 per adult and a little less for younger children, this is an expensive 3 minute gondola ride - or 6 minutes if you include the return journey! Yes, there are some nice views, the wait time is short but it cost us over $70. Ouch!
However, if you do like a good Espresso Coffee - Latte; Cappuccino etc - then you might justify the cost...or you could simply drive up in your car, get the views and the Coffee and save a bundle.

The tram ride is short (only about 3 minutes), but the views up top are incredible. Feeding the chipmunks was a highlight of our vacation for my 6 year old. Bring your peanuts!

The ride up the mountain was great with wonderful views of Estes Park and the surrounding area. On a bright, sunny day the views are stunning. We did not get there early so there was a bit of a wait but not too long. If you are acrophobic, don't look down and even if you are, the views are worth it.

Tramway is a beautiful ride up to the top. Great scenery and good photo opportunities. You can hike to the top of the mountain. Bring water. Also bring peanuts to feed the chipmunks. Snack bar at the top of the Tram.

Couldn't believe that we had never done this! The weather was almost rainy, so there was no line. Our group took food and refreshments up with us, and shared our mini-picnic with the critters. There are a few picnic tables and plenty of rocks you can sit/climb around on. Fantastic views made this a satisfying activity.

This was amazing. The views were breathtaking! We had hit chocolate at the top and climbed around feeding chipmunks. This is a must do this while in Estes Park.

My kids were not happy with the wait to get on the TRAM, but once we got up and on the moutain, they forgot all about it. The views are amazing - if it wasn't for the obnoxious group of teenagers that were also up there, we would have stayed longer. Their noise level took away from a bit of the beauty, but we moved and found a quiet spot.

Riding the tram was a thrilling experience! The views of Rocky Mountain and the Estes park city from top are breathtaking!

We went up the tram with a toddler. She loved it!. You can hike around at the top, feed the ground squirrels and grab a doughnut or cup of coffee. Get there when they open as line gets long and doesn't move very fast.

This was one of my favorite things we did on our vacation in Colorado. I am not the best with heights, but the (teenagers) that work here and ride each gondola ride with patrons are so nice and re-assuring, and the ride up and down only take about 3 and half minutes each way. So, if your apprehensive at all, take it from, do it anyway! It is worth it and honestly not all that scary once you're on! And the views from the top are so worth it! I also had a DELICIOUS fresh squeezed lemonade with blueberries in it from the cafe at the top. I'd love to have one right this second.
Also, definitely buy a bag of peanuts at the cafe to feed the chipmunks outside! They are so chubby, the poor things, but so cute!

Our two teens had their minds set on doing this. It exceeded their expectations. The tram ride was exciting and the view from the top was great. The girls especially liked the gift shop at the top and we were pleasantly surprised how reasonable the prices were. Plenty to do and see at the top, so plan on spending some time there.

This is a must in Estes Park. The view at the top of the tramway was spectacular! Very nice gift shop/cafe with restrooms. Many Trails to choose from. Feeding the chipmunks was so much fun.

They just reopened and improved , fun place to spend the day and learn some history , beautiful views ,great experience . Kids love to feed the chipmunk at the top , they are very friendly and come to get peanuts in our hand.

Very disappointed in the restaurants food and service and cost 45.00 for small 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks. Will not be going back!

Way overpriced for this ride. The tram takes you up a Hill where you have nice views, but you can see some of this from various mountain roads getting into or out of Estes Park. You also have to pay for parking in their parking lot! People operate the tram from inside the tram. You can only stand up and they will cram as many people as possible onto the tram.

It's a little expensive for a family, but it's a fun and unique experience. The view at the top is beautiful. Go when they open to avoid the hour wait in line. Not a fan of them selling peanuts to feed chipmunks at the top, because I believe wildlife should be left alone, but they're cute. The workers were friendly.

Beautiful views and first time riding a tram. We got on the tram to go up right away, we went at dinner time. but the wait to come back down was long.

Well worth the trip up - spectacular views of the valley. Very small cabins - we were 5 in our party plus the cabin attendant. Lines can be long but not too bad. You can buy peanuts up top to feed all the pica, squirrels and beautiful birds including some sort of big grey jay. Lots of rocks to climb. Peanut shells all over the place...A So-so cafe up top - could be made super nice but very sparse and not many places to sit.

We started our day off here and I am glad we did! But remember....get there early! We rolled up at 8:30 and still waited in quite the line. Fun little ride, but more fun at the top! Our daughter loved feeding the chipmunks; a special little treat. Great views and breeze! Spent about 1.5 hours here with a five year old and that was plenty of time. Definitely a fun family activity in Estes Park.

We took our 4 children up there. It was a fun ride, and so much to see and do at the top. We fed friendly ground squirrels, took amazing photos and relished the peaceful views.

The aerial team I was fun. The ride to the top and then back down was fast, about 5 minutes. Due to the way the tram works it was a bit of a slow wait but the views on the tram and at the top were beautiful. Nice adventure.

Fun tram ride up a mountain, wonderful views of Estes Park and surrounding area, some nice walks at the top - would definitely recommend for families

Nice friendly and reasonable trip. The tram is a smooth ride to the top and back down. It appears to be a family run business as our tram operator is the Granddaughter of one of the staff there. Highly recommend this. Be sure to hold onto your hats after you get off the tram

Estes Park is a very cool town. We took the team up the mountain to feed chipmunks.. and look at the surrounding Rockies. Also Stanley house is a must see.

Our kids are ages 5 and 2. We were a little worried it would be scary for them but they loved it. Feeding the chipmunks and birds at the top was a fun bonus for the kids. The ride itself was enjoyable and you get a cool view of Estes. We went in the afternoon and the line wasn’t too bad. It was a great way to spend a few hours.

We were there at 8:30 and were about the second car in the parking lot. After we arrived, the cars started pouring into the parking lot. We were the second tram up. A few people were eating donuts while waiting in line. There is a donut store somewhat across the street. You will see it before you turn to get there.
The price to get up is $14 for adults, $10 for 6-11, $12 >60.
Once on top, we spent about 2 hours climbing all over the large rocks and feeding/watching the chipmunks. There is a road you can walk to the summit.
I felt the line to get down did not move quickly. You are standing in the sun most of the time while waiting.
I gave it 5 stars because we had a ton of fun climbing the rocks and the views are breathtaking.

We came here late morning in a Saturday. We bought our tickets and parking before we arrived. The lines were very short, hardly any wait (a much longer line when we came back in the early afternoon). We did the ~0.6 mile hike to the summit - well worth it for the amazing views of Estes Park and the surrounding area! The cafe has good coffee drinks. It was a good way to spend a couple hours!

I have been waiting quite some time to write this review. This was 3 hours of my life I will never, ever get back and 3 hours that could have been spent doing something much better in Estes Park. Let me set the scene.
It is my birthday. My 31st birthday. My husband and I head to Estes - the drive in from Greeley is beautiful, we are so happy.
We see the Tram and I (not he) choose to take the Tram ride. The line is extremely long, but we have some time to burn before we can enter Rocky Mountain National Park at 3 PM. So again, I (not he) make the decision to wait in line for a little while to get on the Tram. 30 minutes goes by... then an hour. We get to where you pay, and by this time, we're trying to save face and still be excited, but that line was no joke. It was $16/person, which seemed a little steep, but hey. It seemed like it was going to be worth it. It had to be right?!
The line inside was long, but then once you get to where you pay, there is yet another line that snakes outside. So we're about 1.5 hours in at this point.
We finally get to the point where we get on the Tram. The ride to the top is GORGEOUS. Oh man. I said to my husband, "That wait was totally worth it!" and boy, did I speak WAYYYYY too soon! Haha. We are taking photos, the breeze is great, the views are stunning, just a 10/10 45 seconds. 45 seconds. We waited in line for 1.5 hours for a 45 second ride to the top.
But this my friends is where the story takes a true turn for the worst.
We get to the top and I am expecting we are going to head right back down. Another 45 seconds of bliss.
How naive I was!
There is an incredibly long line waiting at the top. The woman who works at the Tram who rode with us opens the door, gets out, and I say... "We... we aren't getting out, are we?" In the most confused, sad, underwhelmed voice one could possibly muster. Oh, yes. Yes we were. Out we got.
We had to get back out of the Tram, and wait for ANOTHER 1.5+ hours to go 45 SECONDS BACK DOWN THE MOUNTAIN. Livid. Angry. There are so many words that come to mind but TripAdvisor won't publish my review if I write them here.
I almost lost my mind. Almost. There were moments where I didn't know if I wanted to scream or if I wanted to cry. Maybe both.
Mind you, during this time the temperature dropped about 20 degrees, it rained, lightning, thundered... the whole 9. Kids are crying, I'm right there with them. I imagine this is similar to what hell is like. There is no cover from the rain, everyone is soggy and cold. They're stopping the Tram because of the lightning... And everyone is just over it.
As we came back down and the windows were open, I told everyone that could hear me "DON'T DO IT!" "IT'S NOT WORTH IT!" I literally shouted it.
So I tell you, my friends here on Trip Advisor - don't do it, it's not worth it.
3 hours of my life, $32 dollars, all wasted for 45 seconds of ... I am still not sure. Nice scenery? That's Colorado - there is nice scenery everywhere.
This is a TRAP.
TRAP.
Think about this truly before you commit. If you read this, then you take that Tram ride, my review will haunt you. I just want you to know that.
Godspeed.

I did this on a spur of the moment idea and loved it. I went about an hour before it closed. It wasn't too crowded at that time. However, the lines for the tramway can take a very long time. So be prepared to wait. The views at the top are stunning and look like postcards.

We have teenagers and a younger kiddo and they all loved this experience. The coffee shop at the top is awesome...great atmosphere and amazing coffee/snacks! The view is beautiful and the chipmunks will come right up to you to get a peanut. So much fun!

We loved it! The ride was smooth, the views are amazing! At the top we had smoothies and pastries and bought peanuts to feed to the resident chipmunks.

Bird's eye view of Estes Park and all the mountains around. Clean nice cafe shop, gift shop and rest rooms. Little varmints are also cute...

We had a good time, Waiting in line went quickly and the view was so pretty and the staff was very friendly.

My wife and I took the tram ride in August 2019, and we thoroughly emjoyed it. Read many of the one star and five star reviews and decided to see for ourselves, and we are glad thar we did. we arrived 30 minutes before opening to avoid the crowds that arrive later in the day. We didn't find the fee charged to be excessive, I must use a walker and found the tram to be handicapped friendly. the staff there provided excellent assistance in entering and exiting the tram. If you are in Estes Park to vacation and see the Rocky Mountains, we recommend the Estes Park Aerial Tramway as a good addition to your visit.

The views were amazing! The only thing I disliked was that they cram you with a bunch of other people. I get they are limited on time but I had a family of 5 plus pregnant and they still added 5 others plus the employee so it made being able to turn comfortably to view everything uncomfortable.

Extremely long waiting in line, only 2 trams they pack you into with 10 others, get to the top and its infested with chip munks from the peanuts they sell, you can smell the urine and feces.

My husband and I arrived early on opening day with our 14,10,3, and 5 month old. I suggest wearing your infant and forgo the stroller as it can be a little cramped in the tram. There was a short line at 8:30am. Everyone was so friendly and answered all of our questions we had. Ride up was a little nerve racking at first but once you get up there it was beautiful. We had lattes and Frappuccino’s at the top that were delicious. We also bought bags of peanuts to feed the chipmunks as we continued to hike behind the coffee and gift shop. View was breathtaking. Everyone had a good time! By the time we headed down the line was well into the parking lot so I suggest you get there early! But definitely worth the wait if you don’t.

The views were most definitely worth the tram trip. It is absolutely gorgeous of the Rocky Mountains and the city of Estes Park. Loved the walk around the top of the mountain and the cute shopping and coffee! We purchased peanuts to feed the chipmunks and that was a blast! I recommend the tram as a must while visiting Estes Park!

I am petrified if heights and really didn't want it to stop me from doing this. I read other reviews from people also afraid of heights. I am SO glad I did it! The tram did not sway, it was stable and a very smooth ride. There's an employee in the tram with you and ours was so kind and reassuring.
I would suggest going early, fewer people and were were on a tram by ourselves. I have no regrets and will do it again.

We enjoyed our trip up the mountain to give us an excellent view of the entire town of Estes Park....very beautiful town in the rockies.

This experience exceeded our expectations. Get in line early for tickets to get the time slot you want. Once at the top, make the hike to the summit of Prospect Mountain. You can hike all around the summit to see all the views of the Estes Valley and Rocky Mountains.

The tram is a must-do when visiting Estes Park. Buy the peanuts at the coffee shop on the top and feed the chipmunks which will eat right from your hand. Kids loved it.

What a GREAT FIND! This is the best way to go up the mountain. You can hike an easy 15 minutes further up to the top. Spectacular views! Great staff. Very smooth and safe.

Start early in the morning so you don't have to wait in line but the ride and view was worth the wait.

I was here 53 years ago while in high school. I remembered that it was beautiful in the Park and wanted to return. The return was a part of my "Birthday road trip"........4,174 miles. The Park was as lovely as I had remembered, only with a lot more shops, restaurants, etc. The highlight of the return was the aerial Tramway, built in 1955. The trip to the top is quick, only a few minutes, but you do have to stand the entire way. There is a nice gift shop and restaurant at the top of the tramway and bags of peanuts can be purchased to feed the chipmunks. The critters are more than happy to be fed and will climb right into your lap if you are patient. Nice gift shop at the base of the tramway as well. Lines can be long, but not unbearable. Most of the waiting area is shaded. It was worth coming back here to bring back the memories and see the growth of the area.

After a few days in the mountains.. Estes Park was our next stop.. the aerial tramway just one of the things checked off our list in this scenic town. The views from the top and the hiking trails did not disappoint! We came early in the morning and the wait to get on was short. Definitely a must see!

This was a great experience with an exceptional view! There is also the ability to do hiking once you are on the top of the mountain! Views are breath taking!

Great experience. Didn't know what to expect but really enjoyed this adventure. I would have planned for more time had we realized everything to do at the top of the mountain. Many trails and rocks to climb.

All the staff were very friendly and courteous. The short ride up the mountain was breath and smooth. The hike up to the top of the ridge was pleasant as the path was wide , and not rocky.

Kinda tricky little turn off if your following GPS, but they have a nice big sign out to show where the turn off is, The worker who I think is the owner was very friendly, Take a ride up and stay up there as long as you want, quick ride with great views

Great views, nice ride, but waited over 1 hour. Fun to feed the chipmunks. Great folks, but downside was the wait. It would be nice if they could figure out a way to just call you up when your ready to board. Felt a bit like a Disneyland ride prior to the Fastpass.

Our first stop during our weeklong vacation in Estes Park was the Aerial Tramway. The price was very reasonable and all the employees were pleasant and friendly. The wait was rather long because so many people were there. But, the trip was well worth the wait!! Beautiful 360* views of the Colorado Rockies. The gift and coffee shop at the top was impressive as well. I enjoyed this adventure so much that I would have been happy to visit again before our vacation in Estes Park ended.

Go as early as you can because it only has two cars so it does take some time but the view is well worth it.
We arrived as the attraction opened at 9am and waited about 20 mins for our Gondola ride to the top.
It has lovely views on the way up and at the top.
They do sell peanuts to feed to the chipmunks when you get to the top but trust me, these chipmunks do not need feeding in fact I think they need to go on a diet, definitely not a good thing to do.
Cafe at the top serving drinks and snacks, we didn't go in we simply enjoyed the view and then came back down with no wait at all.
It's very reasonably priced in compared to some of the other Gondola rides in Colorado.

The views are absolutely beautiful! Worth the wait and lines. Seeing the chipmunks running around eating peanuts at the top was nice.

I thought it was going to me terrifying, but I actually enjoyed it and I am fearful of heights. My kids LOVED Chipmunk Mt. there are literally hundreds of the little guys everywhere, and you can purchase peanuts at the gift shop and feed them. Some of them will come eat right out of your hand. We went at 4 p.m. got right on,we had about a 15 minute wait to come back down.

This was a great opportunity to see beautiful Estes Park in a unique way. After a bit of a wait (45 minutes), it was worth it to see the gorgeous Rocky Mountain views. Up at the top, you can have some extra fun feeding the locals (chipmunks). Well worth it!

This was literally a High lite of our family trip. Very well worth it and unbelievable views. Nice gift shop at the top, some hiking trails and plenty of picture opportunities.

Why have we waited so long to do.this?
After several trips to Estes Park, the four of us decided we would dedicate one day to just being a "tourist." (We come here for hiking and less for the usual tourist activities that would otherwise distract from being on the trails in RMNP).
On this particular day, we started the day with a great breakfast at Notchtop and headed to the Aerial Tram for a view of Estes Park.
Wow! And what a view it was. Picturesque views of RMNP, Estes Lake, and downtown Estes Park.
The gift shop at the top is unimpressive while the gift shop at the bottom is worthwhile. The latter, a good place to get Estes Park mementos, gifts, and clothing.
Recommend for every Estes Park visitor.

We went to ride the tram in the late morning and the line was long, so we went back a few hours later and the wait was much shorter. The tram is close to town so it wasn't an inconvenience to go back. I am afraid of heights so the tram ride was a little scary for me. They only have 2 trams so that is why the wait can be long at times. The view at the top is amazing. We had to wait a bit for the ride down, but it wasn't too bad.

Its only a 3 minute ride up. Great coffee at the top and up...you can feed chipmunks 🐿 :) definitely worth the 14 dollars.

Top 5 attraction. Very scenic. Views from all around. Kids can spend hours feeding chipmunks. Get there early as lines get long. Coffee shop at top of MT.

Take the tram up the mountain, have some snacks at the snack bar and enjoy the views from the top. When I visited there was a line but it was worth the wait.

Amazing views of the entire area from the top. You can take your time and wander around as long as you want. The snack bar sells peanuts to feed the chipmunks. They will eat them right out of your hands.

We enjoyed the aerial tram- beautiful views of downtown Estes Park and the Rockies to the west. Go early to avoid longer lines.

We rode this tramway on labor day which is the day that it closes for the season. It was well worth the ride right from the airport . The views are incredible ! There is a coffee shop and a gift store at the top as well. The fact that there are only two supports (upper and lower) blew me away. That is a whole lot of cable in between. Great scenic ride in Estes park. A must see !

Great activity to do with family. Go early because the lines can get long, which makes hard for little ones. The view from the top is amazing!

Views are beautiful, cost is pretty reasonable. You can easily spend a couple of hours up there. Looks like you are allowed to feed the chipmunks up here, so a lot of folks seemed to be having loads of fun doing this.
However....the operators overloaded 2 trams ahead of us....so the tram went halfway, got stuck then they had to backtrack, unload a couple of folks, then go back. This increased our wait time unnecessarily. Maybe they need to reinforce/train their operators better- but for this, the rating would have been 4 stars. Views are amazing, lots of photo opportunities and a nice coffee bar up there.

Awesome views from the top of the mountain. We arrived early to avoid crowds, and high winds. The top is accessible to all, yet the trails and surrounding area is for foot traffic. My elderly mom would not be able to walk around nor climb on the rock. If you go, they sell peanuts for the chipmunks inside the center up top, they appear friendly and will walk up to you.

Amazing time feeding little chipmunks. Smooth ride on tram. Awesome memories were made with family on this day!

I love the Aerial Tramway! You ride up the mountain to amazing views. We fed the chipmunks, I think that was my kids favorite part. You can hike around and stay up as long as you want. They have a gift shop and restaurant up there as well. Our sweatshirts we bought we actually very reasonably priced (I was surprised it was more)
If you come to Estes Park this is a must!

Crazy good views and it’s easier than climbing, lol. We had no line so that helped, I don’t like waiting. So up top there are awesome views, trails, a gift and coffee shop, and bathrooms! You have to love that! Read up on the construction of it as well, it’s pretty amazing they built it so long ago.

Had to stand in line for about 45 minutes so be prepared. It is totally worth the wait. Beautiful view, little gift shop at the top and coffee shop. Hiking all around the top. Stay as long as you like and return when you want. Again have to wait in line but such a neat experience.

The view is amazing from the top. Currently if you are there by 9 you can reserve the time of day you want to go up.

This was a spur of the moment add on to our visit. Staff is friendly, the wait was not too long, and there are great views as you go up. I chose to walk back down which was also very scenic although the trail takes you a little away from town. It's a much quicker trip to take the tramway down.

If you have a chance to go, the views and area are wonderful to experience. We went early so there was still parking and the wait wasn't long. Afterwards, we shopped in downtown Estes Park and had lunch. It was a nice start to the day.

Taking the Tram to 8700 ft was just excellent. You could see and be on same level as some of the mountains. Price was very good. No rush leaving you could stay on top as long as you wanted. The employees were nice, courteous. Would do this again

Wonderful view, amust to do. They also have a nice gift shop and Cafe. You can see the whole town and lake. You can even see The Stanley Hotel

The tram ride was a must do if you visit Estes Park. It's like a rope is pulling you up to heaven and then when you get to the top you buy a bag of peanuts and feed the chipmunks. The whole experience was totally awesome.

Awesome views from the top. We arrived at 8:45 and there was already a line, but it went quick. I got some great pictures!

Great visit for kiddos of all ages. Opportunity for hiking and a great vantage point to see the Rockies and Estes. We heeded the advice to arrive early and were happy we did. The line backed up quickly after we arrived. At least 45 minutes in advance - there is a bench to sit down on. The chipmunks are hysterical and our 3 boys are still talking about it!

This Tram ride is a thrill in itself and once you get on top
the scenery is absolutely Awesome. Enjoy the views, have lunch
and do a Little Rock climbing.
This adventure should be a Estes Park MUST SEE!

Short ride up and down with great views. A gift shop and coffee shop at the top with a hiking trail. And you can have nuts to feed the critters.

My husband, son and I took the Aerial Tram after a long hike. Waited a few minutes. Cost is $14 per person. Its about a 3 minute ride to the top - windows open so you can get a nice look. Once at the top there is a coffee shop/gift shop. There are trails. You can stay as long as you want.

First time doing this tramway so wasn’t sure what to expect, however the view going up was beautiful. It’s $14 per adult, semi pricy but what tourist thing isn’t? One complaint is the wait time is quite long. I recommend going right away in the morning, we went around 11 and waiter 40 minutes. If you are someone who gets claustrophobic or has a fear of heights, I would question going since you are in the tram with around 7 other people and it is quite high up. The ride is only a few minutes up, but at the top you can walk around and pay for some peanuts (I believe $2.50?) to feed the squirrels which will come right up to you to grab the peanuts. There’s a gift shop and a little cafe where you can get some food, which is nice. Also be warned that there is a wait to get back down, as they only run a few trams at a time.

We did this the morning we were leaving the Rockies to go home. We were shocked that we did not have that long of a wait because the parking lot seemed full. We did not realize you get off at the top. Which was really cool. Each car can hold up to ten people so it goes pretty quick even when there is a line. The views are amazing. You get a really great view of Estes Park too. There is a snack shop with gourmet coffee at the top as well as a gift shop with souvenirs. And you can get food to feed all of the chipmunks running around outside. You can stay up there as long as you want and then get in line again when ready to head back down the mountain.

Took my out of town guest to see the sights. I have lived in Denver 20 plus years and didn’t even know this existed. This is a great alternative to see the views if you don’t have all the time it takes to drive Trail Ridge road or if your guest can’t handle going to the topTrail Ridge do the elevation. They have a nice gift shop at the top. You even have friendly chipmunks that the kids can feed peanuts to at the top. Great views!

We got there around 3ish on a Monday and waited about 45 minutes to ride. There are 2 trams that carry approximately 9-10 riders at a time and arrive approximately every 5 minutes. The ride was surprisingly smooth. The observation deck at the top provided stunning views with enough room for exploring. The staff was helpful and pleasant!

2nd time visiting and nice improvements since 7 years from online scheduling & parking fees to commemoration of 70th year. Smooth ascent and great views.

This is a tram ride is for families that want their kids to feed the squirrels. Very disappointed in the restaurant at the top. It doesn’t offer much of anything & it’s all prepackaged! You will have much better views from Rocky Mountain National Park. We literally rode the tram up 5 minutes & wandered around 5 minutes & got back in line to ride the 5 minutes down for $56. It was a complete waste of money.

Beautiful scenery. Coffee shop at the top. Buy peanuts for kids and they feed them out on the mountain. So fun and a neet experience. My 7 yr old and 18 month old had a blast

The Estes Park Tram s a nice departure from the crowded streets of Estes Park. It is about $12.00 per person if my memory serves me correctly. It is a small tram so expect a wait. There is a service center at the top for souvenirs and general needs like food and drinks. You have a 360 degree panoramic view of The Rocky Mountains and Estes Park. The ground squirrels beg to treats, and the kids love to.

Not only is there a great view from the top of this hill, but you can feed peanuts to the squirrels. (You can't do that in the park.) I would also recommend enjoying a coffee or cocoa on the deck overlooking the town.

I am extremely afraid of heights! With that being said, it was one of the greatest experiences of our trip! Although a little expensive for the ride to the top, it was well worth it for our young girls. Once arriving on top of the mountain, you can purchase peanuts to feed the squirrels. They absolutely loved it! This is definitely a must do!

As part of our stay in. Estes Park, we decided to take the Aerial Tramway to the top of one mountain in order to see the town from a different vantage point. We knew going into this that there would be a wait - and it was manageable, only about one hour after arriving at 11:30 am on a Sunday. The only real negative I'd offer is I'd have liked more benches for people to sit on.
The trip itself is fairly quick - about three minutes from when you board. There are no seats in the car, but the ride is short enough that this is not an issue. There are plenty of places at the top to take in what is an amazing view. The best part is that you don't feel rushed to complete your visit at the top; you can take as long as you want (and as long as the tramway is open), visit the gift shop, have a light snack or use the facilities. Expect to wait in another line to board the tramway to go back down, but this line is usually much shorter - we waited about 30 minutes.
One word of caution: make sure you have, and use, sunscreen, especially if visiting on a rain-free day.
The cost is reasonable for the trip, and is definitely a trip worth taking.

We waited in line about an hour before it was our turn to board. There’s only two tram cars, which fit approximately 9 or 10 people, so it’s slow moving. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend doing this unless you have several days in the area. It is time consuming.
The actual ride is only about 3 minutes. I’m scared of heights, so I really didn’t care for the ride up. The ride back down wasn’t as bad. We went on a mostly windless day, so the tram car didn’t rock.
The view from the top is very nice. You can also buy a bag of peanuts for $3, and feed the chipmunks. Some will take the nut right out of your hand.
We only had to wait about 10 minutes for the ride back down.

The aerial tram is without a doubt the best bang for your buck in Estes Park. Parents love the scenic ride while children love feeding the chipmunks at the top. The go cart/ fun parks ate up over $120 in a couple of hours while this was so enjoyable the kids fed chipmunks for hours.

Fun tram ride. Beautiful views. On the hike to the summit, we saw an assortment of birds. Of course the squirrels are everywhere begging for peanuts. It’s a beautiful place to hang out and take photos. The staff was extra friendly and helpful. The tourist penny machine was broken. They gave us two collector pennies a an apology! Very worth the trip.

the tram base is located very close to the city center. there is only one coach so you'll have to wait in line for a while, but the view from up there (assuming there is a good visibility) is beautiful.

We took the tram around 4:30 pm after waiting for about 20-30 minutes. The wait was somewhat longer due to the long line and also since there were only 2 cable cars that moved on a timed schedule. The ride up was very scenic and smooth, and our group of 8 was able to ride together alone. At the top, the views were amazing!!! We walked around a bit on the deck and checked out the small gift shop and cafe. There is are some rocks you can climb up to see more of Estes Park/ The Rockies, and the views from there were even more beautiful than expected! Be sure to make and save time to come down, because there is a line waiting to come down the mountain as well. The wait was somewhat long, but the views and picture opportunities made it 100% worth it!

take the historical tramway and spend a leisurely hike.
the line is long going up, so arrive early. it's a 55+ year old tram, so it takes only a few at a time.
at the top, take in the views. with the winds you may need a light jacket, or hold onto your glasses. long's peak is visible.
we took our snack picnic enjoying the views. the ground squirrels are aggressive (we didn't feed them).
worth the fare.

Get over any height issues you may have so you don't miss out on this stop. The 360 degree views are spectacular. Plan to have a seat on a boulder and just breathe.
We arrived later in the day (4ish) to avoid the crowds and potential line. Once most of the visitors had left the chipmunks started popping out and would come up to us to see if we had anything to offer. It was obvious that they were accustomed to visitors. What a delightful surprise.

The ride up was smooth and the views were amazing! We loved the small hike to the summit. We grabbed a coffee in the gift show and drank that as we walked.

Love doing this every year we come. Very affordable very scenic. Great staff and very professional. Kids loved it feeding chip monks too.

There are definitely long lines. We watched and waited and finally went during a lull. I don’t think I’d stand in line 2 hours for it. $14 per adult seems a little not pricey for a ticket for what it is. At the top of the mountain, you can walk around outdoors and explore/enjoy the views, have coffee or a bite to eat, visit the gift shop, and feed chipmunks peanuts(buy a bag at the coffee shop). Feeding the chipmunks was a good time for all.

It isn't just taking a tram up a mountain. It has excellent views once you get there, great pictures, feeding the chipmunks is fun, has a little gift shop and a little walking trail, price isn't bad.

Short trip to the top of the mountain for awesome views. Once on top you can feed a bunch of chipmunks out of your hand.
ALso the ride up and down was very smooth and easy going so anybody could ride it.

This is a short over priced Tram Ride. You do have some great views from the top. We purchased tickets online for a specific time slot (you had to select a time), but when we checked-in, we got in the queue with everyone else including those that walked-up and purchased tickets. Why make you chose a specific time if it doesn’t mattter?

The view was amazing! I liked that they didn’t send you though the gift shop to enter or exit - the gift shop and cafe were an option. The staff we interacted with was young but friendly, cheerful, and fun to talk to!

I remember when I was a kid my parents taking me up the tramway to see the surrounding valley and mountains. When my kids were younger and we first visited Estes Park we took them up to see the same beauty and they loved it. When we go back there they still ask to go up the tramway to look around. Would definitely recommend!

Long line the trams go every 5 minuets kind of long wait but worth the beautiful view at the top and good friendly staff

Go early, this gets crowded fast and after Labor Day they are only open on weekends, be sure to bring a camera as the sites will not disappoint, there is about 6 people on a trip so everyone can see, there is a great shop at the top with breathtaking views, you can stay as long as you like and catch the tram back down when you are ready, very easy to find in the center of town, reasonably priced, with kind and helpful staff

We first went on a weekend and was 1.5 hr wait. We went back during week and no line. I would go first in morning or late in day. We enjoyed it and would recommend but not for 1.5 hr wait.

The view was very beautiful! The staff was very informative on the area. The had a nice cafe and shop!

The view from the top is breathtaking. The ride up was easy and quick. Once at the top, the gift shop is ok. It’s the average tourist shop. Nothing interesting or unique.

Go early and buy peanuts to feed the chipmunks and squirrels. We enjoyed our trip to the top of the mountain. Once you take the 5 minute tram ride, you can explore the trails a d climb on the rocks. My teenage sons had a great time!

We travelled from Wales in the UK and loved our experience on the tramway- the staff were super friendly and reassuring as from the bottom it did look a little nerve wracking!
The views up top were second to none and we enjoyed a walk round, feeding the chipmunks and a coffee too!
Would highly recommend

As long as the line is not long, there are nice views from the top. The tram ride was pretty cool as is the history. The best part, buy peanuts at the shop up top and you can hand feel the chipmunks. They come right up to you and grab the peanut out of your hand.

It wasn't the nicest day out, a bit cloudy but so happy we did. The views are absolutely amazing at the top. Once on top, you can opt to go hike or not. You can stay up top for however long you'd like. There's a small shop up top with decent prices. Only 2 trams that run, so be prepared to wait in line. We were lucky enough we didn't have to wait too long. Bout 8 or so people on the tram.

The ride up and down was smooth and quick. The employees were very friendly and joked around with us on the ride. The views were stunning too but, the golden mantle ground squirrels & chipmunks stole the show!
We purchased a couple of bags of raw peanuts ($2.50 each) at the cafe for the squirrels. We stopped several places along the trail to stop and feed them. If you sit and hold out peanuts low they will start to appear out of nowhere.
They move quickly we had better luck with video over trying to take a still photo of these little ones.
My daughters are 14 & 15 and loved this!

This was a very cool experience. It was worth the wait in line. Cute gift shop up top with little trails and rocks to climb. My kids loved it.

We had. Good time riding the tramway. Pretty scenery along the way and at the top. We enjoyed the hike and the chipmunks at the top.

Kids aged 13 and 11 enjoyed the ride and seeing the views. You can climb up rocks to get nice shots of the mountains in the background. Little coffee shop at the top is nice and coffee drinks we had were delicious. Get there early if you can, otherwise you will be waiting about an hour to go up. The line to come back down is about half that. Grab a drink in the cafe and go stand in line. By the time you're done drinking it will be time to get on the tram to go down. I recommend this for anyone visiting Estes Park. It's a fun time.

Totally enjoyed experience. Only drawback is the wait in line but not really anything they can control for something popular.

This was one of our family’s favorite experiences while at Estes Park and RMNP! The team was smooth, excellent views AB’s friendly staff. We did about a mile hike to reach the peak from the tram stop and it was incredible. Great gift shop too!

The view from the top and the way up and down was good. It was an ok experience. With only 2 gondolas the wait is quite long. Price is decent. I would not recommend this to my friends as you can get views from other places such as the ride into RMNP. However, I saw some kids get on the gondola and they were very excited.

Beautiful views from the top of Mt. Prospect. Tram was easy- lines moved quick. Would recommend, can see for miles on a clear day.

We recently (finally) rode up the aerial tramway to take the grandkids on an adventure. We stopped at the shop for a snack and some chipmunk food and set off on a little hike. The views were gorgeous in every direction. The hike was fun and the kids found some chipmunks who entertained them by scampering about and stuffing their lil cheeks with peanuts. A great time was had by all.

Nice views over Estes Park. The ride takes about 5min oneway, price was 14$/ adult and 10$/child. Tram opens at 9am and closes 6pm. Be early to avoid lines. At the top are cafe and gift shop.

We arrived at their opening time, 9:00 am, on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. A line had already formed but we only had to wait about 20 minutes by the time we paid and got on a tram. The operators seem rather unenthused but I suppose going up and down in those things all day would get tedious even despite the beautiful views. Most people were not wearing masks inside the tram despite it being recommended. We spent some time at the top admiring the views and walking for a bit. Since we didn't have too much time to spend here, we were able to get right on a tram with just two other people to ride back down. Overall, for the price it was just okay and I only say that because we spent much less ($25) the day before to see the entire Rocky Mountain National Park whereas this cost like $32 for a much shorter experience with much fewer views.

The Aerial Tramway is a great way to get sweeping views of Estes Park and the mountains without having to climb or drive! Be prepared to wait about 40 minutes in line, depending on the time of day (we got there at 9 when it opened and others had the same idea). At the top, you’ll find lookout points, a gift shop, and some hiking trails.

Nice way to get higher up in elevation without driving. Nice area on top to walk around and get different views of the mountains

The Views are awesome but to be fair all of the views in and around Estes Park are spectacular. If you have kids or just want to try a tram ride for the first time it is a nice family activity.

Our family all enjoyed the aerial tramway. Our oldest son is afraid of heights so he was hesitant at first but he was fine on the tram as long as he didn’t look down while moving. Staff were very friendly. We arrived at 8:40 and there were already 4 people in line. By the time they opened at 9:00, there were probably 20 people in line. They no longer take reservations so make sure your entire group is with you when you arrive.

Overpriced for what it is. Views are good and there’s a short hike you can do when you get to the top. Only two tram cars so if it’s busy you’re in for a wait. Wasn’t crowed when we were there so this wasn’t an issue. They tack on a parking fee after they charge you almost $40 a head for the tram ride. Only like $7 but still annoying when you’ve just spent $120 (in our case) for the tram ride. Maybe something to do once if you’re bored but I wouldn’t go out of my way to do it. If you’re traveling with someone who isn’t able to handle hiking or has mobility issues it might be worth it for some cool views of town/mountains…otherwise do yourself a favor and just go to RMNP. Much better views and way more fun.

I love the aerial tramway in Estes Park, Co...beautiful views and a quick trip up and back down with lots of exploring in between. Cutest, fattest chipmunks I have ever seen and a cute little gift shop to spend a few minutes in.

This is a no fuss ride! It’s simple and clean with a friendly staff! The views at the top are breathtaking!

We loved this. Amazing views. So many great places to take pictures. Loved the chipmunks. Cute little gift shop at the top and coffee.Love the giant stuffed chipmunk in the giftshop. Next visit i think we will take lunch to the top with us and enjoy it on top.

I've ridden aerial tramways at other times. This one was just plain fun. At the top, I enjoyed vistas of the valley and Estes Park Lake, watched storm clouds rag themselves on mountain tops, and smiled at the antics of Clark's Nutcrackers, hummingbirds, and chipmunks.

This is worth the admission. The scenery from the top is beautiful. You get amazing pictures of the Rockies. Take a picnic lunch with you. Also, the chipmunks love the peanuts you purchase at the top. They prefer you leave them in the shells.

I've been riding this since I was a kid - and it never gets old! It's a must see for anyone visiting EP!!! Be sure to go early to beat the crowds!

Take the tram to the top of Prospect Mountain for an extraordinary view of downtown Estes Park and the Estes Valley. It is a scary ride if you have anxiety problems!

A great affordable scenic activity for all ages. The wait can be long, but the day I went the employees were extremely organised and efficient! They also escort you up and down the tram themselves as a safety caution that is much appreciated. Once at the top the view is AMAZING, children love feeding all the chipmunks and there’s a great trail.

The gondola was fun and the views were beautiful! The gondola does not sway in the wind and was very sturdy. They do not weigh you but have a max weight posted of 2300 lbs and I think it was 11 people max. We saw 11 people get in the gondola while we were there and it was pretty tight. Our group was 9 people plus the conductor and I wouldn’t have wanted even one more person. The ride up and down is pretty short. There are great views from the top of the mountain, about 9,000ft up. There are a few trails to walk, a gift shop and small cafe at the top. Recommend bringing binoculars. Can feed chipmunks at the top, they have peanuts you can buy. Our gondola conductor was the same going up and back and he was very friendly and helpful and informational. Unfortunately I didnt get his name, but he was tall with bright red hair :)
Recommend!

Tram ride was smooth with a great view. Those of us who are afraid of heights just didn't look out the open areas of the tram! The views from the platform were photo worthy. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic which caused this attraction to be shut down for many months, the chipmunks moved elsewhere to find food sources. It was quite disappointing to not have the chipmunks around to feed. We specifically went on this attraction to do just that. In time, I'm guessing the chipmunks will return but not sure when that will happen.

The tram exceeded our expections. There is so much beauty at the top. The trails were smooth & clean. The chipmunks numbered in the hundreds if not thousands. The gift shop was nice & their prices were affordable. Great service!

The ride to the top was smooth and quick. Once up there the views were stunning. The gift shop at the top has great cinnamon rolls Go early to avoid the long line.

The line didn't look long, but it winds around beyond the booth and ended up taking about an hour to get to the top. We really didn't spend much time at the top - the view is beautiful, but once you've seen it there isn't much more to do up there and it's pretty windy and chilly. The poor chipmunks are so fat and not hungry so don't bother with peanuts! It's probably best to wear sneakers because there are large rocks you can climb on (you don't have to, but it's hard in flip flops if you do). The line for the ride down is much, much quicker. I wouldn't say it's a must do, but it was nice.

This ride provided amazing views above tree line which makes for beautiful photos/videos. It was not scary at all but is very popular. We arrived 30 min after they opened and had to wait 1 1/2 hours. (there are only two cars). Get there early, before they open if possible. Have to buy tickets there, not available online in advance. $15 per adult

Estes Park Aerial Tramway is a great way to see the Rocky Mountains from atop! The line to get on the tramway was somewhat long (the earlier the better) and it was somewhat crowded. However, the experience going up the tramway was an amazing thrill that gave you a birds eye views of the surroundings!

Wonderful view from the top and even the restaurant served excellent food. I thought it was well worth the modest expense.

This is a must do experience! The tram ride is quick and fun and the views at top are spectacularly breath taking. The gourmet coffee shop at the top really hit the spot. Will do this again for sure!

great, inexpensive to get your introduction into the east side of the rockies. i daytripped it easily from denver.

Such fun riding up and down and seeing the amazing views! Our group was able to all ride together even though there was a slight wait and we weren’t all together in line. Everyone should ride the tram to experience this exceptional view!

Excellent service!! Was a long line but it went quickly - beautiful views - a must see when in Estes

The line was very long but we were glad we waited. Quick ride to the top and stunning views from the top. Staff were all very friendly and professional

Fun place to go and enjoy the ascent up the mountain, look at the gorgeous views and even feed the squirrel. We got to also relax a bit and had a cup of cappuccino and pastries before going out to feed the squirrels. Remember to purchase the bag of peanuts at the coffee shop and be patient with the the squirrels (chipmunks too). They’ll come to you if you stay still and have the peanuts ready for them to take from you. Go early or late in the afternoon. There was a long line around lunch time when we made it back to base.

We went early (9:15), and waited less than 5 minutes for our aerial tram. Fantastic views and reasonable prices ($14/adult--I honestly would have paid more!). We bought peanuts at the cafe up top and enjoyed feeding the chipmunks. Some were brave enough to eat from our hands. We walked the summit road for more amazing views. Altogether a fantastic adventure in just a few hours.

We came specifically for my 5 year old to feed the chipmunks. Description says you can buy peanuts at the top to feed them. Paid $50 to ride the gondola to the top and we are told when we get there they were out of peanuts. They should have mentioned it where you buy the tickets. Beyond disappointed. The views were amazing but I could have gotten that without the $50 gondola ride!

We had a party of 10 adults so had to split up but the process of getting on and off the tram cars was very efficient. They turnaround quickly from bottom to top. We were here in early August during the week so the crowds weren't bad at all. The view of Estes Park is very cool! Several people in our party raved about the staff in the cafe - they were very friendly! We got a few yummy snacks and drinks, and enjoyed them sitting outside on the deck. We even fed the chipmunks with the peanuts purchased in the cafe. Don't miss this...it's been around for a long time but it's still a special treat!

We had such a good time! I was shocked at how much there was to do at the top! I thought you just came back down but there is a gift shop, coffee shop, and areas to walk around at the top. It was beautiful! Definitely not for those who are super afraid of heights!

When we went, no lines and no waiting for a trip to the top and wonderful voes of the town and mountains. Friendly staff.

We had some time to kill so decided to take the tramway up the mountain. The view of the town is fantastic and our 11 year old had a great time with the chipmunks!

This was not one of the events I had planned for on our trip. We waited a long time in the sun in the line. It was an interesting experience and the view from the top was fantastic. Not recommend for anyone scared of heights.

The tram does cost a bit ($14) for the amount of time you ride it (about 4 min up and 4 min back) but there were beautiful views and it was fun to experience! We walked around a bit at the top, there was a coffee shop and gift shop up there, and that was fun. They have those binoculars you pay a quarter for at the top. It was a fun experience, which is what you're really paying for!

The view was so scenic. We loved feeding the chipmunks at the top. They ate right out of our hands. We did a little hiking on a well developed trail. There is so much offered on this excursion. You can go to the top and just relax. You can climb on easy rock structures or take as long or as short of a hike as you would like.

I have been coming to Estes Park for many years and finally rode the Tram up the mountain. It was fantastic! The views are spectacular and there are hiking paths at the top for everyone. The ride was quick and the operator is knowledgeable about the area

With a mixed family of all ages, this was a great attraction for an afternoon. My 12 year old daughter described it as breathtaking views once we were on top ! Couldn’t be happier with our choice for this one .

Don't miss the aerial tramway in Estes Park! Stunning view - take time to hike around up there! Totally worth the ride to see some of the cutest chipmunks who will eat peanuts right out of your hand!

Nice staff and beautiful views! We had a great time. There are picnic benches and hikes on the top of the moutain.

Soo fun my kids loved it. You get great views and get to feed the chipmunk and explore on the peak. price of tickets we good and my 4yr old got to ride for free so always a win. Would definitely recommend

Traveling in a nostalgic feeling tramway car was a unique experience for me and my husband. We really enjoyed the views and it was absolutely worth the (long) wait. The cars can only take 8-10 people and they only have 2 of them.
That being said, the views were breathtaking and the cafe at the top had delicious drinks / snacks with great service.
We got to see some wildlife too! Birds, chipmunks, and even a humming bird.
A couple recommendations:
1. Dress warm. It is a bit chilly and windy.
2. If you have a peanut allergy🥜be wary. They are all over the ground, especially where you wait in line because visitors feed the chipmunks.

The tramway is old and only hold about 10 people....lines can get slow, but it does the service and takes you to the top in about 3 minutes. The shop at the top is good, with a small cafe. The views surrounding the tram/shop are amazing overseeing Estes Park...the hike afterwards, not so much. I expected a full view at the top of the hike and found a tower, many boulders and no real view.

Took the tramway, it was beautiful. I recommend getting there at 8:30 a.m., first trip up us at 9. The line gets long pretty fast otherwise. Nice trails and rocks at top and tons of chipmunks. Adults and kids both seemed obsessed with them. Nice gift shop and coffee place at top. Reasonable prices.

Beautiful ride allowing you to spend as much time as you desire on top. The views are spectacular. A must do if in the area. Friendly staff.

Honestly, we rode the tram just to kill some time, but it was really enjoyable. The operators were friendly and knowledgeable. The views at the top are spectacular.

So much fun! Very friendly staff. Recommend booking tickets and parking in advance. Take the hike to the top of the summit. The views are spectacular! Hard pack path, but a little steep for this flat lander!

Seemed to be in need of improvements; fresh paint, gift shop area outdated. Pricey for the ride up even though the view was beautiful.

We travel to Estes Park every September. We have been disappointed in the past that the Aerial Tramway closed Labor Day Weekend. This year, they decided to keep it open at least through September. We decided we would go up again, because it had been years since we were there when it was open. The trip to the top did not disappoint. There are great views 360 degrees at the top. Most people only stay on the fenced sidewalk that rings the coffee/gift shop at the top. But guests are welcome to venture off the sidewalk and scramble on some boulders (or not) for some other outstanding views of Estes Park and the surrounding area. A lot of great photo ops. Take some peanuts along as there are many chipmunks and ground squirrels at the top. Be sure to visit the gift shop at the top as it is MUCH better than the gift shop where you board the Tramway.

What a wonderful experience! Beautiful views and the chipmunks were plentiful. They must have re-relocated back to the area! My daughter loved how friendly the chipmunks were — highly recommended!

As others have stated, try to get here early to avoid the longer lines that form later in the day. The view from the top is great.

We followed others advice and got there when it opened. It's a throwback experience as everything seems original, but still well maintained and sound. The chipmunks are everywhere at the top so be prepared to get some peanuts. The kids, including grown up kids, will enjoy trying to get them to eat out of your hand. We found a seat in the snack bar and had some coffee. The staff were friendly and took good care of us, even after my son spilled his cocoa all over the floor. They even gave him a new one after they cleaned up the mess. It gets crowded fast. We spent about two hours total there.

Get there early! We arrived at 11am on Labor Day. Had about a 90 minute wait which wasn’t horrible being we didn’t have small kids to worry about. The temp was in the 80’s and it was hot standing in line until we were able to enter the building and get out of the sun. All the staff was very friendly and keep things moving along.

Enjoyed taking this tram to the top of the mountain. The ride was quick at just over three minutes. The views at the top are great. We arrived at 8:30 and were the first group in line. By the time the doors opened at 9:00 there were at least 60-70 people in line. I’m not sure if I would have enjoyed it as much if we would have had to wait in line for an hour to go up. We purchased a bag of peanuts (there were a lot of them), but we actually found the chipmunks way more skittish than we thought they would be, so we ended up bringing most of the peanuts down with us to use on hikes and picnics.

You can't beat the amazing views at the top. They try to cram as many people as they can into the tram so it's a little uncomfortable. Luckily everyone wore their deodorant on this warm day! There are only 2 trams running so the wait to get up and get down is a bit long. We were towards the end of the day so we were dissapointed the little cafe was closed when we got up to the top. Other than that....the view from the top is pretty spectactacular. You can see all of Estes Park.

We enjoyed this very much. Beautiful views from the top. A quick 3 minute ride to the top and stay as long as you wish. We had been to RMNP the day before but still these views were amazing. I’m a bit of a coward but this seems to hug the landscape which made it less scary. Thought it was wonderful!

Nice views but price high …had to stand….uncomfortable…..we ..also rode Telluride gondola on same Colorado trip….it was free and much better views, sat in enclosed gondola, excellent restaurant at top. No comparison!!

We made the mistake of waiting in line not realizing how long it would take. It was hot and despite looking in their shop, we could find no water or other amenities. Upon boarding to gondola and reaching the top it was not worth the wait as we had kinda lost our desire to hike too far beyond the gondola area.

The line was outside the building, but worth it! The view is absolutely amazing from up there. The ride up and back wasn’t bad- a little cramped, but the windows are open. Feeding the chipmunks was fun too.

We really enjoyed taking the tramway up and back down the mountain. The views were spectacular. It’s definitely worth overcoming your fear of heights to do this!

We had a blast. Eight of us,family, took the tram. What a beautiful view. Although the line looked long, it did not take long to get on the tram. Great family trip.

One of our favorite places to see all around Estes Park -- well worth the price, standing in lines, etc., and once you get to the top, you can relax, buy food/drink, or bag of peanuts to feed the zillions of chipmunks!!! Lots of boulders, to climb on, if you have kids with you! Lovely gift shop, too, with wide variety of souvenirs/shirts, etc.

Loved the tram ride we had a great time feeding the Chipmunks! The staff was great and entertaining. It is a must do!

We do this every year. Get there early so you don't have to wait long in line. The views are AMAZING,and it is always fun to ride the tram with people from all over the country. The people at the top are SO friendly, and you can grab a cup of coffee, tea, or a quick snack. Be sure to get your peanuts to feed the chipmunks. Be patient. If you sit quietly, they will eat them right out of your hands! Such a fun time for everyone. They offered a military discount, making it just $11 for each adult in our party, making it the most affordable thing we did in Estes! Would definitely recommended!!

We arrived on a Tuesday afternoon around 2:30pm. We had tried to take a ride the evening before but it had been closed because of wind. This afternoon got a bit windy also, enough so that they closed it for several minutes but then started it up again. We waited for well over an hour to ride, which with our six children ages 2-14 was pretty painful. But we didn't know if we'd ever be back so we committed :)
The ride is so so gorgeous. They do cram you in there so it's hard to move about to see all the views but it's a lovely ride.
The top was chilly! We were glad we'd brought hoodies with. There is a cute little shop at the top and we did pay $2 or something for a bag to peanuts to feed the chipmunks and the kids seriously loved that. You could buy food and snacks up there too.
The line to get back down was just as long! This almost melted down every child in our group. Maybe Tuesday afternoons in June are just crazy busy but if I'd had known the wait on either end was going to be so long, I'd have planned better to entertain my kids.
I don't regret going, it really was lovely, I'd just change my prep next time.

A long wait to ride but the view was worth it. Plenty of time to explore once you are at the top. Wear sturdy shoes if you want to hike around and climb on the rocks. Arrive early to avoid the wait.

I was nervous at first to go up, but once you’re at the top, the views are unbelievable! Careful as you walk around due to altitude. Also, it was very windy! But the views are worth it. There is a gift shop at the top which are similar items you can get in town. The cafe is great too.

The 1955 tramway is definitely a unique experience that you will not get elsewhere in CO. The views up top are absolutely stunning to say the least - you can see all of EP and well into RMNP, great shots of Longs Peak, etc. Definitely get to the tramway by or before 9AM to avoid a long wait in line! There is only one tram going up/down at a time, so a long line may take a while.
Also, there is the option to hike to the summit of Prospect Mtn once you reach the upper tramway station. It was a pleasant surprise and highly recommend! Would have been good to know though before heading up there :)

We went around lunchtime and the line was about 30 minutes. Great views at the top, coffee shop has snacks and sandwiches reasonably priced, gift shop had typical trinkets and clothes. Buy the peanuts and feed the squirrels, it’s fun.

Beautiful views! We watied about a half an hour or a bit more, but it was worth it. The ride is very smooth and worth the ride to the top. I do NOT typically like these kind of rides, but I did really enjoy it.

Beautiful views! Ride is gentle. Great little coffee shop and gift shop on the top. Loved feeding the chipmunks. They were so fun to watch!!

We have been on this Tram 2 different times. Come early (right when or just after they open) or come just before they close. Otherwise the lines are long. The first time we came right after they opened and didn't wait at all. The second time we came in the afternoon and we waited at least 30 minutes in line maybe longer. There are spectacular views from the top and the hike to the summit is very easy. Wide trails and stops along the way to take a break. Great little side jaunt up and away from the crowds of Estes.

We had a fun time feeding the chipmunks with the kids! Plus the views were amazing! We enjoyed a lovely coffee at the gift shop and hiked up to the top of the mountain with a heard of tiny kids so if we can do it anyone can do it!
Just the most awesome experience!
Awesome! Must go! Fun, great staff! Gift shops, food stands, walking trail at top, at your own pace to enjoy the sites...
