Very beautiful day or night. I love to visit here. Beautiful area. Great for group visits. Easy to locate and maneuver around, easy access

The sidewalks gave easy access to the falls and the observation tower provided a nice view. The volume of water at this time of year is not impressive.

This was a nice stop on our car trip vacation, well worth it for the relaxing scenery. The amenities appeared to be well kept, some picnic tables and nice walking pathways. People were maintaining appropriate social distancing, so less tension than going somewhere indoors.

Great and impressive park in Sioux Falls. Stopped here at the start of our SD vacation and found it a beautiful park with waterfalls that I didn’t expect in SD! Learned a bit of history regarding a flour mill that was built here once upon a time. There is a cute cafe overlooking the area, unfortunately it had limited hours and was closed the day we stopped by.
The park is a nice stop if you’re in Sioux Falls.

This park is a gem. Paved walking paths make viewing the entire falls area with ease. There are some stairs so there is some limitations. Kids love climbing the rocks while the adults catch the view. A lot of history here and the plaques give good basic information. If your around, spend a half hour or3 hours.

It was a full, lovely waterfall. The smell was sickening though. I was trying to find a geocache and decided to skip it as the smell was too bad.

Make the time for this quick stop. Be sure to go up the tower to look up at the view. While there was not a lot of shade at the falls themselves, there was some nearby.

We stopped here on our way from Minneapolis to Rapid City and it was a very nice wayside rest. There are a lot of vantage points to see the falls from, including a tower (that has an elevator) to give you a view of the entire area. There is a ton of history here as well if your kids will give you the time to read the plaques! There is a restaurant on-site that sells several flavors of ice cream; perfect for a hot day! Ample parking and bathrooms on site as well as picnic areas. There is a bit of an odor from the falls, but it wasn't anything that we found so bad that we couldn't hang out there for a while. While you wouldn't want to make this stop your entire vacation, it's worth a stop!

A great place to stop for a few hours and enjoy nature and small waterfalls! Bring a picnic lunch. Take the free elevator to observation tower.

We went there with 2 small children, they had fun on the rocks and looking at the falls. You cannot wade into falls which is a bummer. It was beautiful, great paths and bathrooms, a viewing tower and small giftshop

It was a pretty place to walk after a long car ride. Unfortunately, the smell from the meat plant filled the air.

Nice little park didn't have as much time to explore more but check out the sad building he's very upset that the water is falling.

The cascades was an amazing place to spend time in. And the walk up the watch tower is worth it. You will get a full view from all angles.

A romantic location near downtown Sioux Falls, lots of green space and the falls are very nice. Love the geese! On a nice day, a wonderful spot for a picnic or walk a dog.

Over the 30 years we have driven through but never stopped to spend time in Sioux Falls we have never seen this Park. Now that we are older the drive to family is just to much to do in one day, so we have decided to spend the night here and travel on the next day.
The first thing for me was seeing the Falls. Its a must do!! They are really very beautiful, with walking trails and bench to sit and watch them. The is a small Cafe to eat at and a tower to climb (there's a elevator too) to get a birds eye view from. Its close to downtown and easily reached just off of highway 29. Your GPS will get you there easily.
Wished we had gone sooner. I'm a real camera nut too.

Even though the water was a bit low, this park was well worth visiting! The rocks and falls were beautiful. I'd recommend climbing up to the top of the tower for a nice view, too.

What was the city council of Sioux Falls thinking having this slaughter house next to such a lovely park !!!! Come on Sioux Falls you have so much to offer why do you still have this unfortunate eye and nose sore in the center of town???

This was just amazing. A lovely park in the middle of the city. Easy to navigate and so relaxing. Not to be missed when visiting here.

Falls Park is a special place, pure and simple. Family friendly and always a treat. The observation deck via the free elevator gives a good overview to appreciate the site.
We thoroughly enjoy walking around the beautiful falls. Picnic areas and largely handicap friendly.

We stopped while traveling west and so glad we did. The city of Sioux Falls, SD should be proud of the beautiful job in preserving this area of history that they have done. We walked the grounds completely and were very impressed with the sidewalks, preservation of the ruins of the buildings and overall wonderful grounds keeping that they do.

This is a lovely park...a hidden gem...in Sioux Falls. I have known of this park for almost 50 years and have watched if morph from a very rustic place to one of multiple drawing cards.

Nice, small park which has small, but scenic falls which I assume the city was named after. It smells pretty bad around the area due to the meat processing plant, but we got some beautiful family pictures.

This park used to be a five for me but I was very disappointed on my last visit. The city has allowed construction of two multi storied buildings that have destroyed the view. You can no longer see the clock tower. You just see buildings. The homeless problem also appears worse as it is elsewhere.

Beautiful park, could spend hours there, peaceful, clean, I want to go back!
Watched a taping of a weather report which was cool!

What a nice park! We stopped in Sioux Falls for the night on our way to Keystone, SD (etc) and really enjoyed it. Lots of information plaques to help you know the history, etc of the park and the area. Very nice visitors center. We took the stairs to the top for the overlook and glad we did. We walked the various trails and really enjoyed our stop here.

This is a must see if you are traveling through the Sioux Falls area. It’s breathtaking. We climbed up the tower to get a view of the entire park. It’s beautiful. The climb didn’t bother us but some folks were having trouble. Good thing there is an elevator for those who might not want to climb the stairs. We walked around the entire park and took in all of the views. We probably spent an hour there. We were fortunate to find parking by the visitors center when we drove up. Not sure if they have another parking area.

Nice place to walk and historical plaques. RV parking available across the street at Farmers Market. Early Flour Mill remains on site.

A really nice park. Fun to watch and walk along the falls. Worth a visit. A calming and enjoyable place. We spent 30-45 minutes and liked it.

Walked around for over an hour here, lots of pretty scenery and picture opportunities. Some people mention a horrible smell, but we didn't notice anything so it must be depending on which way the wind is blowing. While the falls and walkways are nice, and the view from the tower was great, we were sad to see all the garbage in the water.

There were road works on the approach road our GPS directed us towards so we parked and walked thru the park towards the falls. It’s a nice large open space and of course the highlight is the waterfalls. The river levels were quite low but the falls were still impressive. What a nice place to have so close to the city

We were traveling through the area and found this was a worthwhile stop to get out and stretch our legs. The Falls are pretty cool and lots of photo ops. Was a festival celebrating regional Native American history going on at the time so the park was busy. Don't skip this if you are in area.

I was last in Sioux Falls in 2017 and loved the falls then, so when I was driving through this year, I stopped again. The parking near the falls is free, and you can walk to viewpoints and actually onto the falls. They are beautiful

Sioux Falls is really boring. Except for the falls there's not much to do. If you like bars there are plenty. If you want to eat out great! But for family fun or for couples there's not really much to do especially in the winter. If you have lots of money you can go to a show at the pavilion if there's a good show but that takes planning.
Otherwise Sioux Falls does not have a lot of visitor entertainment.

Stopped in Sioux Falls on the way elsewhere, but decided to drive through downtown and go to the park before heading out. I'm glad we did! The park is pretty, well laid out, and the falls are awesome. We were there after rains, so they were roaring and tumbling.

This was about a 3 mile walk from the Downtown Hilton but it was so worth it. The pathways are adjacent to the falls and rapids on the Big Sioux River. Before the Ice Age, the river ran N-S but when the glaciers appeared, the river went around the ice and eventually cut a new bed which changed the course of the waterway forming the rapids and waterfalls we see today. We were able to climb onto the rocks but did so cautiously. This is a lovely park, not to be missed when in Sioux Falls.

It was a picture perfect day, so this was a beautiful thing to see. It was late summer so I could only imagine what it is like in winter. It has ample parking and is very easy to get to. Not the biggest place, but worth a short trip in the morning or afternoon.

Being from the area, I brought my wife Mildred to check out my old stomping grounds in Sioux Falls, SD. I had not been there in decades and didn't even recognize the place, all the roads and trails were changed. No more little hiding spots around the park to make out with the ladies or smoke dope and maybe even score a bag for a good price. Me and Millie split. Cops were everywhere and I don't like or trust police. I hate change!

We were traveling through the area and wanted to stop and stretch our legs and were really glad we did. This is a really cool park right in the middle of town. We hit up the tower for a really good view and climbed around the rocks where we could. If I am ever through the area again I will definitely stop in and take in the park again.

Very nice stroll in the late afternoon. The park is very relaxing. You can walk up to the water and dip your feet if you wish. Nice ducks in the middle taking in the sun.

This is the second time I’ve been there but I didn’t realize you must walk to the right to see the amazing falls. Last time we went, we had fun climbing on the rocks and didn’t realize the amazing falls and paths and cool historical artifacts. We always park in the first lot so I guess this is how we missed it the first time. My pics probably don’t do it justice, but it was a beautiful winter day and it was cool to even get to walk across the frozen Sioux River to get from one side to the other.

Incredible. We just kind of wandered over, but we should have planned and spent more time. It is breathtaking.

Falls Park is such a nice area to wander. The grounds are well maintained. Lots of beautiful shade trees to provide a cool area to sit, watch people, eat a snack, even take a nap.

I visited Falls Park with my family in August 2019 and we all enjoyed walking around. The view from the top of the tower is spectacular because you can see a lot of Sioux Falls in the distance and can even see a couple of waterfalls.

We visited the park on the way to Yellowstone. Very nice park for all ages. Falls were interesting with the color of the rocks. We went up on the observation deck so saw them from above as well.

Great park! Wonderful art sculptures, well-manicured, lots of walking / biking / jogging paths. The waterfalls were beautiful! Lots of places to sit to take pictures, bask in the sun, or just to relax. It was a nice surprise! Every visit to Sioux Falls should include a stop at Falls Park. I was very impressed!

Absolutely amazing that this is near downtown and on a nice walkway…and it seemed really safe except for a crowd of kids on the opposite side of the river.

Beautiful park with pretty falls. We went into the tower and saw from above snd then walked to the falls. Well manicured grounds. Very nice.

Falls Park is one of those hidden gems that is very cost friendly and a beautiful natural landscape. The lights around Christmas are a must see.

Beautiful park with well maintained walking paths, places to sit and enjoy the view or have a picnic . Go up in the observation tower for a birds eye view of the falls. Interesting history of the mill including some original buildings. Just be warned, if the wind is blowing the wrong way, the smell from a nearby plant can be disturbing in certain areas.

It was a beautiful park to go and visit. Sit back and relax and enjoy! It's fun to walk around on the rocks by the falls, so make sure to wear actual shoes, not sandals. There is a nice little restaurant right on site as well. Highly recommend a visit.

Nice area to walk around on a nice day to see the falls from many different advantage points. There are also the ruins of the old mill. There is also a cafe onsite.

Took my 2 under 2 out to see the falls. They are just as excited as their mama about seeing running water and water falls. It was a great trip on a fair weather day.

Great park near downtown hotels and amenities; this is a good place to just do a casual walk or if visiting the town - yes relax and enjoy - lots of places to seat and relax

This was a very pretty park in downtown Sioux Falls. Great place to stroll and take pictures. A must visiting South Dakota.

This is such beautiful scenery, a peaceful park, with nice viewpoints and naturally a great little stop on our trip.

Was told by Dana at the Hilton Garden South about seeing the Winter Wonderland at night. Was not disappointed! Beautiful layout! The Falls looked spectacular!

The park is in the middle of the city and the drive was sketchy. The park itself is really pretty. The historical buildings were nice to look at but nothing spectacular. All the restaurant had was cold sandwiches and ice cream which did smell good.
The town itself was nothing spectacular either. I wouldn't waist my time stopping. 😏

This honestly feels like a state park within a city, rather than a city park. Gorgeous falls. I feel jealous that locals have such an amazing place to spend time, right next to their downtown.

It’s beautiful and unique, and it makes me smile to see it again! We visited for the first time a year ago, and couldn’t wait to see it again.

Great place to visit if you're in Sioux Falls or just driving through. We spent about an hour there and my kids really enjoyed being able to climb on the rocks and walk next to the falls. Definitely more fun and interactive than some places where you only view waterfalls. I've heard the observation tower is free and gives a great view but I think we were there too late. I definitely recommend visiting if you're close by!

Spent a morning at Falls Park. The Falls aren’t huge but they’re pretty and easy to walk up close too. The Park also has an observation tower with some great views of the park and Sioux Falls. Really enjoyed the historic display and learning about how the falls were formed and the unique rock formation and used to generate electric power to power a mill. Really well done and spotlessly clean.

Spectacular water falls! It’s a beautiful park with good paths for walking. Also has an observation deck to see the entire vie. Worth a visit!

Great every time we visit. All times of day and all times of year, a must see. Great place for individuals, couples or family.

Everyone in our group really enjoyed the falls and the walk among them. Lots of pretty picture areas for sure. There is a public restroom there also.

We enjoyed the magnificent beauty of the waterfalls, rocks, and surroundings. It was easy to park, and everything was totally free. We walked around, took pictures, and ended with the observation tower. We were very pleased that we took the time to visit! I would recommend this for everyone that visits Sioux Falls.( We visited on Fathers Day and it wasn't very busy either-just a few other visitors to our surprise.)

This place smelled like a sewer when we stopped by. We probably didn’t spend 10 minutes there due to the smell. We were going to have a picnic but we opted out of that quickly. I’m not sure if it always smells like this or we just stopped on a bad day.

We enjoyed taking leisurely walk to look at the beautiful falls and read the historical plaques. Kids were playing on the rocks and families were having picnics. What a lovely space.

With a city name like Sioux Falls I guess it makes sense that there are falls!
I’ve lived in Minneapolis most of my life and know a lot about its falls, but these are wonderful, approachable and highly interactive. Great walking paths, friendly visitors, interpretive signs and amazing geology.

This is a super easy walk for a family or solo person that is super well lit and paved. Amazing views of the falls from all angles and many plaques offering history of the region

We are still stunned that this park exists in the middle of the city. It seems to not belong but in the best way! Plenty of lookouts, platforms, and places to relax. We liked that there was a lot of easy parking.

This is a beautiful park. It has a lot of visitors even during the week. There wasn't as much water in the falls the time of year we went. There had not been much rain. But it was still beautiful to see all the rock formations that would be under the water. There is a nice little cafe at one ed of the park with good ice cream. There is also a gift shop and tower you can go up in to view the entire park. The people in South Dakota are seriously some of the friendliest I have met. This park was no different.

Amazing views, many photo opportunities right in the middle of the city. they have a visitor center also with friendly and informative staff.

A nice park in the middle of the city with a waterfall! Historic location too. Highly recommend when visiting Sioux Falls.

We had a nice visit to the park. The city has done a very good job laying out the park and it was a very nice place to stroll through. Definitely work a stop.

Spent a Sunday afternoon walking around the park. It seems to be a popular place for people to spend time. The falls are unique and fun to see. Fun place to watch people. All ages seem to enjoy spending time there.

Great place to go with kids. Brought our 3 kids and they loved getting close to the waterfalls and going up the observation tower. Plenty of open spaces and pretty easy to socially distance yourself also. The park is cared for and I would highly recommend if you have kids that like to explore.

Well-maintained, excellent interpretive signage, spotless restrooms, and oh yeah ... a waterfall you can CLIMB AROUND! One of the most unique urban parks I’ve ever visited, this makes Sioux Falls a truly beautiful city in a ghastly, barren state!

We visited the falls in 2000
Water roaring over the rocks- at the moment due to a lack of rain- the water 💦 flow is greatly decreased.
There also used to be a nightly light show- a local told us that is now only at Christmas.
Still - worth a visit. Parking plentiful and a cafe for ice cream

Sioux Falls was a stop for our family of 5 (kids ages 8, 5, and 2) as it was our halfway point from Minneapolis to the Badlands/Black Hills area. We loved it here. The kids enjoyed climbing (even our 2 year old), and we sat on a sandy area overlooking the falls. It was wonderful. We spent about an hour, but if we had a picnic, I’m sure we would stay longer.

If you are going through Sioux Falls, this is worth stopping at. There's plenty of parking. There's plagues throughout the park so you can learn the history of the falls. You can walk around as much or as little as you want. The falls are serene and gorgeous. There is a little bit of climbing on the rocks for those willing to be more adventurous, just be careful. A large lookout tower is available which is fun and a gift shop downstairs. There is also a small cafe available too and picnic tables nearby. Whenever I go, I see a lot of dog walkers and little kids having fun with it as well. Once you're done, you aren't far from the downtown area if you want to continue exploring. Admission here is completely free because it's a big open park.

This was just a leg stretcher for us, but what a way to do it! Beautiful falls. Plus, we stopped and grabbed ice cream from the cafe on property.

Stopped in here for a quick look and break. It was probably the best find of this trip. Really didn't expect much but wow it was really unexpectedly great. The falls are right in the heart of this city and are a pretty decent length. There are so many great views here and you can easily changes angles in the easy walk around the park on both sides of the river. Lots parking available and it's easy to find. Highly recommend visiting here.

This neatly kept park provides views of Sioux Falls. We enjoyed walking the paths and bridges alongside the river and the cascading water. The park includes a viewing tower providing an overview of the falls, the park, and the city. There is a restaurant in one of the old stone buildings that used to be part of the power plant. The park is a pleasant place to stroll or picnic while enjoying the waterfalls.

We stopped here on our way back home from Minnesota to Missouri. Found the park to be well traveled, but people were wearing masks and distancing. The roar from the water in the background made for a peaceful lunch spot. Gorgeous area to walk around and enjoy the day.

We needed to stop on our way westward and pick Sioux Falls for the things to do - this was the only one worth going to but it was well worth it. Did not sleep in the town as decided to drive onward. Spent a few hours wandering this park and looking a the various falls and the water. The Observation Tower was closed due to COVID but even so the park is absolutely wonderful.

Beautiful place to spend about an hour. Parking is free and easy to access. Safe and easy walkways everywhere to view the falls. We also ate lunch at their cafe, service and food were great.

This is a must see. A stunning waterfall in the middle of Souix Falls. Make sure to go in the tower to get an amazing full view.

Wonderfully maintained and curated park just off of downtown. The falls and walkway that follows then is definitely worth a visit if you are in town.

The Falls are very unique to see. I would recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Very clean and easy to access.

It was an overcast day but still walked around the park. Enjoyed walking through the park and taking pictures of the falls at various locations. The signage around the falls has the history of the area which made the walk even morn enjoyable. Make sure you check out the view from the observation tower.

Nicely done park. Beautiful falls and nicely preserved structures. City across the falls looked interesting but we did not have time to visit.

This wasn't the high point of my vacation (i went to Yellowstone Park, after all); but i think it was was the Most Pleasant Surprise of my vacation. We went to Falls Park figuring, "yeah yeah, the city park; a place to hang out until suppertime..." But this place is beautiful! It really really is! And the old Light And Power Company building (see my photo) has a nicely-presented history of the site and its transformation to its present elegance. And good ice cream. The many walk-up trails, and the stability of the red quartzite around the falls, make it possible to walk right up to it and see it close up. Don't even think of doing that at Niagara.
Let's face it: no one's going to travel all the way to Sioux Falls to see this. (Well, unless you're a student in an architecture / urban design / urban renewal curriculum. In which case, you'll love this.) But plenty of us travel through Sioux Falls, or near it, for one reason or another. If that's you anytime soon, you really should check this out.

Fun open space. Can walk around the grassy area or navigate the ricks. Great photo ops. Nicely maintained space with lots of parking

Views were amazing. Beautiful sculptures and waterfalls. There for about an hour and a half. Wish we would have had more time.

The park is worth visiting, as it provides majestic beauty. Walking trails, bridges, observation tower, falls – everything splendid.

We stayed in Sioux Falls on our way to the Badlands National Park. Needed to find something to do to kill some time. We decided to head to Falls Park. The grounds are well maintained. Nice area to take a walk. Beautiful scenery. Enjoyed the park.

We must have been exceptionally lucky in our summer visit. This time the cool breezes were less welcoming, and brought some of the famous odour we had escaped in our summer visit a few years ago. We would recommend a summer visit over fall visit.

The absolute best part of this park is that you don't just stand on the sidelines and admire the falls, although they do look nice enough for that. You walk right past the guard rails and you climb all over them and get to be as close as you want. We climbed up and over and down. There were families with kids climbing all over too. Lots of fun and a perfect way to work off that breakfast.

Just a great place to visit! Right in town, easy walk, beautiful! We were able to take our dog with us as we looked at the Falls. Plenty of sidewalks and viewing areas. The gift shop/ observation was only open on weekends when we were there. Great place!

Nice spot to visit and take in the beauty of the falls. We spent about 45 minutes here. There is a restaurant on site but we didn't eat here.

Go up the tower for a good view. Stroll along the Falls. Stop at the Farmers Market if it’s a Saturday- we had some tasty kombucha- rose, and blueberry. Could even walk over to the Sculpture Walk from here.

Please can someone tell the truth about this beautiful park with horrible possibly noxious smelling pollution apparently eminating from a meat processing plant just north of the falls? The smell is sickening and I imagine could be hazardous? I regret spending time there with my family.

Definitely impressed! The weather was nice and they have laid the walking trails out perfectly to have views from all different angles. If you wanna be brave and get a little closer make sure you have some shoe handy I just had my birkenstocks that day so Definitely eill be going back to explore more closely.

Wow. We were passing through and staying downtown and thought we’d check out the falls. We walked down to the park and it was beautiful, from the amphitheater to the falls and the observation tower and the old Queen Bee Mill. It was tremendous fun to walk on the rocks and view the falls from many angles. We encountered thirteen-lined ground squirrels and smelled the meat packing plant. It was a great time. The park is beautifully maintained.

This is a must see! It is absolutely beautiful! Take some time to explore the area. Each vantage point brings a new, stunning view. I would love to see it at night.

Awesome stop on our epic road trip out west! Nice place to stretch your legs. Clean restrooms with soap and paper products. So glad we stopped.

This is worth a look! It is easy to park here and we spent 5 minutes checking it out before heading to the Badlands. It would be a pretty place to go for a run but we were just looking to get a peek before leaving town.

This park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is well worth the drive or stopping at on a trip. It is hard to believe these cascading falls are in the heart of the town. The falls are probably even larger in the spring; however, we still enjoyed them in August. Lots of walking trails around the falls, a restaurant next to the falls with an awesome view and a gift shop with a 4-story tower to get the best photo shot.

If you’re in Sioux Falls I suggest Falls Park! It is free and absolutely amazing! Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!

Lovely area,...so great for walking/exercise!! Would love it, if there were flowering trees,....and flowering bushes, plants, etc. It's a beautiful park,...and free to be there!!! Thank you!!!!

Loved this area! Relaxing and a perfect place to get photos. We went at sunset. So beautiful! Lots to do in the area as well.

This place is gorgeous! There are several walking trails to get different views of the park. I recommend walking them all to get the full experience. It’s totally worth it. There are some areas with steps, but overall easy to manage for most. Recommend going up in the tower to do the overlook. View was breathtaking.

Beautiful park where you can walk out on the rocks to get closer to the falls. Plenty of parking picnic shelters and shade.

What a beautiful park right in the center of downtown Sioux Falls. We were able to walk the trail to Falls Park directly from our lovely hotel (Country inn and Suites).
Family friendly, safe for all ages, walkable for all fitness types. Highly recommended!

The falls are very cool and our kids like climbing along a few different areas. I think it was definitely a fun little thing to go see.

The park is really nice. It's kept up well and the falls are definitely worth seeing. Located very close to the old downtown area. All the locals ask if you have been to Falls Park. They're very proud of it.

I could tell that on a nice day this park would be very enjoyable but the cold rainy weather on the day of our visit was not conducive for doing extensive exploring. We did go up in the viewing tower which was a nice perspective and we did wander through part of the falls area. It was very well done. A real surprise, as was the downtown area itself (if only the weather was better...)
The staff in the visitor center was super friendly, helpful and informative.
The other weather factor on this day was the wind direction... boy the stench from the nearby Smithfield pork slaughterhouse was nasty. I don't know how people live near that plant but that smell was gagging. Don't let that stop you from visiting but just hope the wind isn't from the north!

Visited the Falls after a long day of traveling. It was very beautiful and relaxing evening. The park is set up nicely and well manicured, unfortunately patrons leave messes and trash! Very pretty and would definitely recommend anyone visiting.

Type in your gps
The overlook cafe or the visitors center. If you can go in the day and the night. Their website does not have an accurate address.

Beautifully kept park. Incredible views of the Falls. Nice walking paths. And multiple places to stop. I want to visit in winter to see the falls in snow.

I visited in April of 2020 when I stopped to spend the night while I was moving. It was cold so I didn't get to spend to much time exploring the park. I'm sure it's a nice area to walk around.

We wanted to get outside and have a picnic lunch and did so here at Falls Park. Views are nice, not too many places to sit besides the grass, sidewalks going all around. Good to stretch your legs for a bit.

It was cold and rainy, but we did walk to the Falls Park and enjoyed the scenery and taking many pictures Very pretty.

Free to walk. Sidewalks surround the park and there are historic markers along the way identifying buildings and structures. Gift shop with observation tower. Also a cafe open for lunch

I could have stayed here forever enjoying the water. There is a nice gift gift and things a reasonable prices. There is nice places to walk and enjoy the view of the water falls. I loved this place. The restrooms are open and there is a restaurant near by. Make sure to go to the top of the look out and see thee view. It is inside the gift shop and take stairs to the top.

We will come every time we go to Sioux Falls! Wonderful walking trails with lots of history to read up
On.

The falls, rocks and history of the area are all impressive. Take your time and walk around both sides of the falls. You should also just sit and admire the beauty of the water. We visited in mid-June and saw fish trying to jump up the falls against the current. It was entertaining.

Stopped for evening walk. The force of the water rushing through the park is incredible. A great spot to take pictures and a great place for a walk. Don’t miss this spot when visiting Sioux Falls! Travel safe...

Beautiful setting and racy grade walking paths. The falls are the obvious attraction, but of great entertainment wee the airborne trout at the base of the falls and the children occasionally catching some in nets.

Even if the water isn't high, this is still pretty cool to visit! The signage really helps explain a lot of the history, which was very helpful. The cafe is in a nice spot and perfect for a quick cup of cocoa or coffee.
The one note is: driving her can be a bit tricky, as there are some very short turns - so glance at your map/directions before you start out. But once you're there, this is pretty amazing and a bit unexpected to see this raw bit of nature!

Be sure to park in the cafe parking lot and walk up that way to view the falls, if you come from the top it just looks like a dirty fast moving pond.
The old structures on the property were neat and it looked as though there was a good amount of trails for biking and jogging.

Don't miss this natural beauty in Sioux Falls. Go up in the tower (free!) for a great view. Grab a snack at the cafe along the falls in an historic building. Read some of the markers at the historic building along the falls, too. Great stop in Sioux Falls.

If you’re looking for a relaxing way to spend some time, look no further. Take a walk on the paths & listen to the falls. Very calming. Take the, elevator or walk the stairs to the viewing tower for an even better view. Christmas lights/decorations were being put up while we were there. Just might have to make another trip.

We thought this park was mesmerizing. We went at night, and it was well lit. The falls were great, and you could walk along a trail around them or even venture off into the rocks to different spots. It is so close to downtown and totally worth seeing if you are in Sioux Falls.

My husband and I live in Sioux Falls. Whenever we have visitors we bring them here. We go up in the tower for a good view of the Falls. The attendants in the gift shop are knowledgeable and passionate about this city, and you can get information about tours and attractions. The park is a peaceful place for lunch in the Overlook Cafe or a picnic on the grass. On Saturday mornings in the summer the farmers' market is happening just to the north, across the street. You can ride your bike through here, too, but be sure to yield for pedestrians. During the holiday season it is decorated with lights galore. Great place to visit through the seasons to see the changes.

This is a very beautiful park to stop at. The falls are very beautiful, especially with the downtown buildings in the background. The observation deck affords a great view of the falls.

Such a wonderful natural beauty, it was just breathtaking. The tower wasn’t open but the web page said it was, you might want to call before going if you want to do the overlook tower. Also cafe was closed as well.

This park offers a stunning view of the falls and a nice walking area including a bridge over the water. There's an observation tower that also has a restaurant so that you can eat with a view of the falls. Absolutely beautiful and unique sight. Free convenient parking.

We viewed this beautiful natural resource at around 8 pm. The falls were brightly lit and we were able to view them only from the walkways as the viewing tower closed at 6 pm. Maybe due to the time of year or lack of rainfall, but there was not nearly the volume of water as seen in pictures. On the down side, there was an awful odor in the area.

We went to the farmers market on Saturday morning that was in the park. There were lots of local produce and a few food vendors there. We then walked over to the area with the falls. You can walk pretty much anywhere around the falls but there are rails and viewing platforms that my two year old could go on. The park overall was very clean. It was nice place to walk around for a few hours.

I traveled there during the flooding but got to walk around before it got too bad! The gift shop was nice and I was able to buy an umbrella! The falls are beautiful and there are many places to walk and get different views of them. It really was a great thing to see!

There is construction being done in areas before the falls. Not sure if water is dammed or diverted. It’s high along the path there, yet very dry in most areas with some falling in the center. A sad excuse for a fall. Had I know u would have not made our overnight stop here. It would be pretty if it was flowing as it should be.

Really enjoyed this park. Super clean and open with nice access to the falls no matter your mobility. There is a viewing tower with an elevator you can take up for a view as well. There is also a restaurant on site with outdoor seating where you can watch the falls while you take a break.

We came in October so water levels were low. At any time it’s a beautiful park. Get close to the water or in the water if you need to cool off. Great places to sit and enjoy the sound of the falls. Good amount of parking and it’s free. This is a great place for pictures or just to enjoy being outside.

This is a great park for a visit. It's beautiful with plentiful trails to walk. There is also a restaurant onsite if you want to enjoy the view from there.

We stopped here to check out the falls and walk around before heading home. Was pretty neat and the history of the flower mill. It was nice to be able to walk around with the dog.

We stopped to see the falls and were sad that the water levels were so low. We did think it was still pretty and we enjoyed walking around the area and reading the plaques telling about the history of the mill. The quartite rock is beautiful.

On Saturday, the visitors' center closed early for lack of staffing. The city trolley drove past the stop in the park without slowing down at 5:30p and didn't show at all for the 6p stop.
It's a beautiful park but the advertised services failed. We understand staffing problems, like maybe not having a driver for 6 - 11p, but changes to the visitors' center and trolley hours were not posted on the park's web site. We stood with other tourists trying to open the visitors' center door and waiting at the trolley stop for experiences that never happened.
The falls are this city's namesake. Disappointing.

Beautiful falls that are worthy to see. However, sad the city let's it sell of pure sewage! Very distracting to actually enjoy the visit. GROSS. Add chlorine!

What an amazing park! Easy place to let the kiddos get some exercise and learn about the early history of Sioux Falls. We spent about an hour exploring and had fighter jets practicing overhead for the first half, very cool. Clean, very pretty, cheap/free.

This area has so many scenic locations and is great for photo ops. I would recommend a trip here. June was a very beautiful time to visit.

Stopped for night this is a great family place to see. The grandkids loved they could climb on some of the rocks. First vacation with them didn’t know what to expect decided to do a nature type vacation they learned there is more to vacations other than theme parks.

Free parking. If you are visiting then Falls Park is a must. Clean and spacious. Lots of restaurants close too.

I had heard about the falls for years, finally made time to swing by. Well worth the stop, doesn't feel like a downtown when you are there.

The park was nice and well used. The falls were unique, splashing over the local granite rocks, carved away over time by the river. The water had an unfortunate odor that did not make us want to linger.

This is a well kept park. Not only are the waterfalls beautiful, the park is clean, open, and lovely. I’d go walking around that park if I lived near it, it was that beautiful.

The area is wonderful. The park and falls are a great experience. Walking trails are very nice and everything is well kepts. My kids loved going up the observation tower and looking at Sioux Falls. Great place to visit

The Fall Park is a must see if you visit Sioux Falls, the trails are well marked and you can take beautiful pictures at the same time
you learn the history of this beautiful place and visit a big farmers market!

My husband and I did a quick trip to Sioux Falls for a concert. We walked the park in the morning before the concert. It was windy and rainy but the falls were beautiful. It would be great to come back when it was warmer.

This is such an amazing place. The beauty of the falls. The serenity of nature in the city. This park is so beautiful and the walking trails and the overlooks or just awesome.

Very pretty. Visited during the day and came back after sunset to see it lit up. Attraction brings a lot of people around but there is more than enough space being outside to keep your distance

A lovely park, all very well renovated, though the falls themselves weren’t that exciting, maybe as not in full flow. More of a fall really.
We went up the tower for the view and spent an hour in the sun.
Stunned by the price of a thimble full of wine in the café.

This was a great pit stop on a road trip. Falls are great to look at and walk the dog around. It was Saturday and there was a farmer market in parking lot. That was great. Got some fresh vegetables and milk and yogurt.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Falls Park, it wasn’t what we had built it up to be – only because of Mother Nature. June 2021 the area was experiencing a heat wave and drought (highs near 100). The falls were beautiful and impressive, but not what they could have been or what we had seen in photographs & brochures. We must have looked haggard when we stepped into the air conditioning of the Gift Shop – because an employee apologized for the excessive heat they were experiencing. We arrived early in the morning and spent time walking the paved trails around the park, taking photos and selfies, reading the information on the Queen Bee Mill and other buildings, and watching the trout jump at the falls near the Café. The Visitor Center has an assortment of shirts and postcards, an elevator to reach the top of the viewing tower and public restrooms on the exterior. We parked at the Falls Overlook Café, but there are plenty of free public parking lots in and around the park. We treated ourselves to a scoop of ice cream at the Café as we were leaving. The Café also had sandwiches and wraps, as well as drinks, wine and beer – but everything was a bit overpriced. Would recommend bringing a picnic to enjoy under one of the beautiful shade trees or benches around the park.

Enjoyed the view and great place for photos. There was a looking tower and didn’t know that, so was an added bonus!

It is such a blessing to have park like falls park near, we don't take it for granted. You are actually in down town sioux falls, but you are right away in the nature at falls park.

Very nice display of falls. Nice walk and view from the observation deck. Would visit again if I was in town.

We pulled off the highway for a break and enjoyed this park. It is easy to find and only a short trip from the interstate. The falls consist of several cascades which were modest in the heat of the summer. There was plenty of parking and well-maintained walkways which were wheel chair accessible. There is also a small shop and visitor center with an observation tower. The shop had mostly T-shirts and the visitor information was all folded in a rack. There is a cafe in a historic building that was interesting. The menu is limited and on Sundays only salads and cold sandwiches are available. This is a nice family oriented activity combining exercise and beauty. From the park the city center is only a couple blocks away. We could not stay to explore but a quick loop impressed us with this lively and artsy city.

A nice place to stop and visit for an hour or so while traveling through Sioux Falls! There are some nice paths, an observation tower, and an overlook cafe with ice cream available.

Beautiful urban falls with various points to view them. There is an observation deck and a restaurant with a lot of historical value.

We stopped by the Falls Park while traveling to Mt. Rushmore. This is a gorgeous park with plenty of parking, nice walking trails, and of course the beautiful falls! Enjoyed the great views of water and it was relaxing! You can walk on the rocks and get closer to the water falls if you like. The park is kept very clean. Stop by the observatory deck/tower(free) to get a full view of the cascading falls and the surrounding areas. We also packed some food and used the sheltered picnic tables that are situated within the park. Overall great experience and enjoy he park next time you are there!

Lovely park with picturesque photo ops and nice walking paths. The visitor center was closed when I stopped by around dusk but the park remains open and well lit. I would recommend it for a nice walk whether a tourist or a Sioux Falls resident.

Falls Park is such a lovely place to visit! The views of the waterfalls are stunning, especially around sunset. The park is clean, well-maintained, and perfect for walks or taking photos. There’s also a nice café and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the scenery. It can get a bit crowded at times, but overall it’s a great experience worth visiting.

This is a wonderful city park with several awesome sculptures mixed in. The falls roar through the Sioux quartzite and then trickle away. Plenty of walkways and vantage points.
The smell from the Smithfield meat plant
Is a bit much and nobody was wearing a mask at the peak of an epidemic. It made me u comfortable.

Finally visited a place I found just playing around with Google Maps and Street View. Stopped by for lunch on our way to Omaha. Must be great to have a gem like this sitting right in the middle of the city. The series of falls is of course the main attraction. My kids enjoyed traversing the rocky terrain around the falls and river. There are also some old buildings and ruins with interpretive plaques/signs describing the history of the place. You can also go up an observation tower overlooking the entire park.

If you have time to see only one thing in Sioux Falls, this is what you see. On the other side of the water I could see people crawling all over the pink/purple quartzite rocks. My side had the remains of an old grist mill. Quite a bit of pre-1900 history on display in this park along with the falls themselves.
I spent maybe a half hour there which is too short. I had to get back on the road for my vacation, but honestly I could have spent an hour or two to explore the park and the falls.
There's a walking trail along the Sioux River through downtown to get to the park so you don't have to drive to get to it. That was great for me as I stayed at a hotel downtown and walked over in around 7 minutes.
If I ever come back to Sioux Falls for a 3 days weekend this is the first place I'm exploring.

We went in the evening and also during the day. It is well lit at night so it is beautiful. A must see!

What a lovely park to have a picnic or stroll. There are plenty of walking paths and a nice breeze. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours just relaxing. I liked reading about the history of the falls and Sioux Quartzite. It is too bad the falls are surrounded by so much development instead of being in its pristine state. But we still enjoyed our visit.

I've known of the city Sioux Falls most of my life, but never knew it was named after the falls in the heart of the city. What a beautiful and relaxing site. So nice to enjoy time outdoors and forget about the Covid-19 situation for a while!

Beautiful place to spend an hour or two. Park setting and very intriguing waterfalls. Fun to explore. Pack a lunch, eat in the shade!

We stopped here on our trip from Minneapolis to Omaha, passing the huge Smithfield plant before turning into the Visitor Center parking. After using the clean restrooms, we took the elevator up to its viewpoint of the 42 acre falls parkland and also the large factory. We walked to the 1908 power plant, its bridge and up around the cascades that drop 100’ overall. What a nice area.

A very nice, well maintained park. The mix of natural rock and groomed lawns is excellent. Had fun feeding the ducks and chipmunks.

This was a beautiful park. There was lots of parking. We were there BEFORE sunset and it was beautiful. None of the businesses were open. There was a bridge and people were fishing below it. There is a castle thing there and all the information on it is there to read; turns out it was like a fort and a wheat mill. It was cool.

I really enjoyed the park & the falls are beautiful! It was great that you could walk around get pictures and go up in the visitor center to get an above the falls picture as well! Very clean and well thought out.

While visiting Rapid City from California, decided to make the 5 hour drive to check out Sioux Falls. It was well worth the day trip. Falls are awesome, park has great viewing platforms and areas to sit snd relax. Got the added bonus of seeing 3 fighter jets make a circle around the area. Only drawback was the smell of the meat processing plant down river from the falls.

The views were amazing. The waterfalls are beautiful and relaxing. There are fish jumping in the falls and birds flying everywhere.

Sweet little spot for photos! Lots of construction in the area currently. Easy walk to and from parking area.

Great place!! Nice walkways, neat tower to go up to view everything from above, some history plaques along the way…. A nice way to spend the evening.

We visited in September. The tide was low but the beauty was still present. It’s free and peaceful can’t go wrong with that combination. I really like how one can walk and just take in nature and still obtain some beautiful pictures. Definitely worth the trip. Enjoy.

Falls Park was a wonderful place to spend our evening in Sioux Falls. It's a beautiful park downtown on the river with waterfalls and the ability to walk on the rocks around them. The added history of the old mill buildings around the falls just enhances the area. Close to restaurants, bars, etc., it makes for a great area to spend time in Sioux Falls.

Nice Sioux quartzite falls with several sizes of waterfalls and a big one at the end. Beautiful park with paved walkways and observation decks with telescopes. The water was calm and several people were climbing the rocks.

The falls were very pretty, but this isn't like walking on a trail to find a gorgeous waterfall at the end of a hike. There are cement pathways and right in the city. I would have walked along the path, but there were geese and goose poop all along.

Really nice place to visit. Was surprised with how cool it was. Also nice that you can pretty much get out of your car, and you're right there. If you don't have a lot of time, you can take plenty of pics and get in and out of there in about 20 minutes if you choose. Or spend longer there taking in the whole thing and walking down by the falls on rocks.

Nice to have seen and certainly if in SF you should, but - there's been a series of drought years - don't expect to be blown away by the falls themselves. As you read the story of the mill - never could make a success based in part because of insufficient, intermittemnt power), you begin nodding your head - uh huh. (Bonus - amateur production of Romeo and Juliet going on in the old mill courtyard, so an extra star for effort) During a Spring melt this would impressive, in almost July, doesn't quite look like the magnets. Lots of walking trails - though if you head downtown, there's also lots of construction - so that a detour becomes a couple mile loop and more than once you will wonder - press on or go back. Tower has views, and there is a cafe. Pleasant, peaceful, bring the kids and let them run around.

I think there was less water than usual (although this was the first time I had seen the park). The falls was pretty, just not overly impressive. There were geese and ducks in the park. There was a fair amount of trash in the water. We walked around for a while, but with record temps, we didn't stay more than an hour. It is amazing how this park is right next to the downtown. It seemed busy with several people walking around and taking pictures.

Went to Sioux Falls park to watch the sunrise before heading out of town (part of a road trip). This is a nice park for walking, connecting to a broader trail system. The falls are quite scenic, though there are office buildings backing to one side.

Falls Park is what interested me in going to Sioux Falls in the first place. It's right in the center of the city (which is honestly more like the suburbs despite being the largest city in South Dakota). You can walk all around the falls, along the greenway up the river to the Arc of Dreams sculpture (there are many other sculptures as well). The visitor center near the bottom of the falls has a 5 story tower you can go up for free and take pictures from - amazing views - my friend asked me if I took it with a drone! There are also souvenirs you can buy in the gift shop. The sioux quartzite rock is over a billion years old and you can walk out on it right by the water. Very cool. There is also the ruins of a mill.

Take time to go up in the tower, which offers spectacular views of the entirety of the falls, then walk the park to get a real sense of the area's history.

Went during the afternoon. It was very crowded. Fun to walk on the rocks and see the falls. Lots of dogs. Overall if the weather is good a solid place to bring a picnic.

very lovely place, very clean and safe. The falls were so pretty . You can also see the old mill. There is also a cafe but it was closed as we went there early morning.

Had to stop at Falls Park. I was presently surprised here as this was a nice well maintained park. We spent about 2hrs here exploring around, walking on the rocks, watching the ducks and going to the observation deck. There was lots of Greenway if you wanted to walk or had a bike. We really enjoyed our time here and best part it was free. It would be nice if parts of the falls were cleaned. There was some debris and trash that would of been easy for a ranger to get. Overall nice time and a must see.

Plenty of hiking and biking trials., There are historical buildings which some date back to the 1800s. There is a visitor info center and gift shop. The falls are beautiful and the park is very peaceful and clean.

Stopped by the park & walked around Saturday morning before we left Sioux Falls. Nice, clean & well kept. Wonderful water falls & also went up the tower. They were getting ready to put Christmas Lights so that should be spectacular.

Falls Park is a delightful little stop with a mix of activities. The tower is free to climb, the falls are a unique sight to see with the cuts made through the granite, the history of the site is interesting, the grounds keeping is top notch, and airplanes flying into the airport buzz right over the sight for a neat look every now and then. I would recommend it.

What a surprise to see this beautiful park in the middle of the city. The natural beauty of the river cascading over the jasper quartzite is so awesome. The park is well landscaped, incorporating the native wildflowers into the manicured lawn. Nicely placed overlooks and bridges lead you around and across the river. You can even climb up the tower for a wide view. We were lucky enough to see a train cross and stop on the bridge over the river, right on the edge of the park. The history of the old mill was really an added feature, too. There are even some unique sculptures scattered around the grounds.

Right in the middle of town there is this absolutely beautiful, amazing park that surrounds a series of falls on the river. Many years ago, there was a factory that harnessed the power of the river to turn the turbines. Sioux Falls had experienced major rain right in the weeks before we were there, so the river was really full, making the falls even more spectacular. There is a tourist tower where one can walk up or ride in the elevator to a platform that gives 360 views; the one facing the falls is, of course, the most spectacular.

Great views don't miss this place free parking you can get great ice cream at the cafe at the falls park. Easy to get to. Very friendly people in the cafe

This is definitely worth a stop! Beautiful waterfalls and a really nice park area. There are benches all over the park. There’s a sidewalk you can follow or you can go off the beaten path onto the rocks. Lots of scenic views and lots of picture opportunities. There’s a tower (elevator if needed) that also provides a great view. There are shelters and lots of shaded areas. I was really happy we stopped here. My kids (13 & 10) also really liked the park. Parking was free. There are bathrooms on site and a small gift shop.

The rock formations and the falls are just wonderful. The city has made a very nice park, so you can walk around or just sit and enjoy! We did take the elevator to the top floor and the view is worth it.

We went to falls park today for the first time. What a cool place. You can walk around all over the rocks and check out the falls. Very unique. We spent about two hours just walking around. We will be going back to walk around again before the end of our trip.

We stopped here after landing at the airport. It was a nice way to stretch our legs after being on a plane for a few hours.

Tried to see the Falls in Fall Park and were directed to an employee parking lot which was full so we passed on seeing the falls. The Park itself was nice to see with the fall color change just starting.

Really great park, basically sets the tone and idea for the entire city. We stayed here after a lot of rain so the falls was roaring much more than normal. Good walk ways, tower to see around, bridge to cross over, and tons of places to get close, climb on rocks, and just take in the cities main feature.

The park is quite large with lots of trails to navigate the park. You get views from all angles. There is a gift shop / tower. From the top of the tower you get a wonderful view of the park and downtown Sioux Falls.

We made a stop out here on our way out to Rapid City. Definitely worth the stop. Spend time and explore the park. Just incredible visuals and design of the surrounding structures. Do not miss this place.

Nice place to take a break from touring. Not sure how many other cities have waterfalls right in the middle of town, so this was a nice surprise.

Enjoyed watching the water flow through and over the different levels. Nice park and several interesting thing to see and do.

Peaceful, relaxing and fun! I spent about 2 hours here, ate at the Falls Cafe, walked around the falls. Beautiful weather in August!

Beautiful waterfalls were a great way to spend time in South Dakota! You can get an even better look from the tower!

This was the main reason for stopping in Souix Falls on our trip. Good walking paths. Nice views with some historical plaques along the way.

Very cool park! Easy parking and super fun that you can walk all over the rocks and see the waterfalls from different angles. The rocks made good benches where you could sit as well. Very nice. Huge green space around it also.

We've been going to Falls Park since before it was developed. Very impressive space with the falls and rocks and walk ways. Look out tower gives a wonderful vantage and refreshing breeze!

Great park with plenty of walking trails. The falls are pretty and will surly be incredible after a good rain. There is a two story tower for viewing.
Well worth a visit.

We stopped here after a long day of driving. We arrived around 4 or 4:30 so most of the crowds had already left. We spent maybe an hour walking around, watching the trout jump in the rapids and up in the overlook tower. There is a cafe but we did not eat there. We even saw a big turtle.

Lovely part of town. The water falls are pretty, nice walking trail around it. Close to coffee shop and downtown shopping area. I am envious of those living near it.

We stopped here to see the falls and also saw the remaining wall of the flour mill that burnt down. We would recommend stopping to see the falls.

Well-maintained, free park. Bathrooms, bottle-filling stations, and an observation tower - all free. Beautiful rapids, slight sulfur smell. Ruins from mills with lots of info about the history and geography of the place. Popular among locals and tourists.

We were killing time before dinner and needed a walk. This park is small but beautiful and very easy to access right in the middle of the city.

Very nice evening walk through the park. This was a very pleasant find on my way to the Badlands. Not crowded at all and the falls themselves were very beautiful.

This park with it's waterfalls are amazing. A must see. It's free to visit. Kids will love it also. There are rocks for the kids to play on. The restaurant serves sandwiches. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant overlooks the falls.

I recommend a visit to the Falls Park to anyone who passes through Sioux Falls. The falls were a big surprise to me. I mean, I assumed there were falls (based on the city name), but they exceeded my expectations. The river goes between quartzite boulders and has a series of falls. Although they are not high, they are beautiful. The park has trails that goes to different sides of the falls. In addition, there is a city information center in a building that has a tower. You can climb it (no cost) and get views of the falls, the city and the area.

We visited Falls Park while passing through the Sioux Falls area. We're trying to visit a waterfall in all 50 states, so this was a convenient stop. Sioux Falls is a beautiful waterfall in multiple sections on Big Sioux River right in downtown Sioux Falls. A series of paved trails lead throughout the park to view the waterfall from different angles. We also saw some ground squirrels scurrying about among the rocks. A really beautiful city park, free to visit, and worth a stop whether visiting Sioux Falls or just passing through.

A beautiful (well kept) park. a cool fall or spring day would be perfect for a picnic. The falls are a perfect location for Photos. Good parking and plenty of good walking to see the falls & navigate around the park and Falls.

We were on a road trip and this looked like a decent place to stop to stretch our legs and have some lunch. Lovely Riverside park with some interesting history, and we saw some turtles too. Would have given it 5 stars but when we tried to go in to the cafe we were rudely told that it was closed for a private event.

Beautiful falls within the city of Sioux Falls. There is a paved walkway all around the falls but you can also go off the walkway and walk on the rocks closer to the falls. There is a cafe with restrooms that were clean when we were there. There is no charge to visit this park.

This is a beautiful park in downtown Sioux Falls. It's well maintained and such a great place to visit. It is also dog friendly!

Went to fall Park with 4 kids and the smell was absolutely awful. Kids thought it smelled like a port-a-potty. They all were ate up by bugs mid day and the garbage all over the water was disgusting! I’d think for such a beautiful area sioux Falls would have someone or a group who would want to take the time to keep the area clean for people to enjoy the view and history of this place. We were so disappointed, we ran out of there (literally).

There was some street construction with detours which made finding the park difficult. But, once we found it, quite nice to walk and view. Visitors center didn't open until 10?? too late for us. Cafe housed in historic building didn't open until 11am! Too late for us.

In 2020 we are all looking for peace. This is the perfect place to go. I arrived before the sun came up and stayed for a couple of hours. It was quiet, and beautiful. An ideal place to social distance on a weekday. Weekends can get pretty busy but there is lots of wide open space.

We were in Sioux Falls for just one night as a stop over on our road trip. Falls park was recommended to us and I'm glad we stopped. I loved that you can climb the rocks. We went in the early evening and it wasn't too crowded. Beautiful stop.

How is it that South Dakota doesn't advertise to other states very much. I knew about the Falls, but I though it was just a regular falls, not THIS! Awesome!

Almost didn't go - that would have been a mistake. It was a great place to walk around, watch the falls, get an ice cream, and enjoy a couple hours. A must see if you are in Sioux Falls.

Found this offhand on google maps and was happily surprised at how great this little hidden treasure is! Would make a great place for a stroll or even a picnic

We were fully wowed by this place. Completely unexpected experience in the middle of the city. We went here while waiting for something else, and we did not have enough time to fully enjoy it, so give yourself at least 1 1/2 hours. We went in mid-May during the week, so there weren't many people. Also hadn't rained recently, so the water was low and you could see more of the rock.

Being named for the Falls, I knew there had to be a set of falls here, but had no idea how magnificent they would be. The pink color of the rocks in the falls give them a unique appearance. There are walkways with various viewpoints each giving a different view of the various levels of the falls. This is definitely a must if you are in Souix Falls.

How lucky the people of Souix Falls are to have such a wonderful park in their city! It is very impressive and there is a lot of room to roam and sit. A native told me it wasn't much to see since they had not had rain in weeks but obviously she didn't understand that in Kansas that volume of water is a true wonder. And the red rock is fascinating. Don't miss this park.

We had a great time walking around on the rocks. Keep track of the little ones, there are some dangerous spots. Really beautiful! Kids enjoyed it. When we were there (june 2023) the main walking trail to the park from the city center was closed, which was a bummer. Made the walk there and back much longer.

Easy to park; easy to walk; beautiful place to stop and walk around, take photos, etc. Definitely worth the trip (we visited on our way back through between other locations).

.8 miles from hotel to Falls - lovely walk along the river. Lots of history of how the falls and surrounding area have changed over the years. Bike trails along the route.

A really beautiful park and its huge well kept clean and safe. There are two sides to the park so try to see both - lots of parking and walk ways

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our walk around Falls Park, in spite of the fact that it was 32 degrees the day we were there. (We're Floridians, so that was super cold to us!) The park is designed to take maximum advantage of the beautiful falls. The trails and walkways were such a please to ramble around on. We also saw lots of families there, and it seemed like the town really makes good use of the park.

Beautiful falls and family friendly. Very clean park and plenty of sidewalks. The trolley was running and a great way to see the downtown area.

Definitely a must see! Really pretty! I spent a few hours wandering the area - crisscrossing all of the paths and walking around in the rocks to take photos. Great way to spend a long morning. Just a bummer that there is so much construction.....my pics all have cranes and construction site "mess" in all of them.

We loved the experience. It is a place that in a couple of hours you have visited and enjoyed enough, you do not need more time and in the town there is nothing much to do, so it would be like a place of passage, or rest, on another's route. journey.

This park and falls were unlike anything we've ever seen, amazing falls, beautiful park could have stayed all day, check out the visitor center for souvenirs and visit the viewing tower, the natural quartzite all over the park was awesome, a must see when in Sioux Falls

What a gem! We loved the falls, we picniced there. The agriculture museum is a great spot especially with kids. Beautifully maintained park.

Falls Park is in the city where I live. Falls Park is a very big attraction. I take all visiting family to see it when they are in town.

Nice park, easy walk from downtown, gorgeous falls, we even saw trout jumping up them! This area is a treasure. Fairly easy to socially distance here too. I wouldn't fly in from Chicago just to see them, but if you're driving by anyway you should definitely take the detour to check them out.

Really pretty at sunset. Good ice cream shop right by the falls. I had a lot of fun with my mom and little brother and I would say it is child friendly . Definitely recommend going :)

Great FREE natural wonder to see in SF. Easily spend an hour here. Great photos to be had. Watch for muskrats in the water, and fish trying to jump UP the falls.

This park is amazing. We parked by the amphitheater and walked down and explored the grounds. We enjoyed it very much, there was so much to do and look at!

The Park is located just north of downtown Sioux Falls, SD and covers more than 100 acres. The Park is home to the spectacular Sioux Falls, which can be seen from several points, including an observation tower.
Also there is a visitor information center and a cafe. Admission to the park and the observation tower is free.

Lovely park. Has lots to offer the community and those traveling. We really liked the falls. Reminded us of one we saw when we were in Europe. Lots of area for many activities. There is a very nice Information Center with ladies that were very helpful. If you are looking for a nice quiet area to just relax, check the Falls Park out.

Beautiful park the falls are very neat. Lots of different views worth walking around on the paths and finding all the spots to view. Be sure to stop at the tower it is free and has a really good raised view.

I spent two hours visiting the falls with my young grandson who just loved climbing on the rocks and listening to the sound of the water rushing over the falls. The view from the tower is great. The park is clean and well-kept. There’s plenty of parking. It’s the reason that the city has its name and it’s gorgeous.

If you come here, don’t expect a large waterfall like Niagara or Shoshone.
Rather, Falls Park features MANY very small waterfalls and ample angles to view them from.
There are so many—with so many different angles—that it’s hard to get good pictures of them.
Falls Park is a pretty large park. You could easily spend a couple hours here wandering around, exploring some of the historic buildings and other things to do, while taking in the multitude of little waterfalls.
Definitely a great place to take a little break and relax. It’s clean, mostly quiet, and reasonably scenic.

A very fun and very beautiful. The falls are great spot on a hot day as the rushing water cools the air. There are great places to walk and beautiful photo ops. However it’s very open, so keep an eye on your kids, you don’t want them to get caught in the water.

A true work of art by Mother Nature! You can spend hours here. We visited at sunset and the falls were beautiful.

I did not give it stars only because of the smell. Not sure where it comes from but there is a very bad smell at the park, a cross between sewer and fertilizer. The falls were beautiful. There is a nice bridge you can walk across to view the falls. There is also a Cafe there, not sure if it was open or not we did not try. There are nice trails to walk along as well. Would like to return again in the winter time to experience the falls partially frozen.

After short drive from Omaha, Nebraska, we wanted to make sure we saw Falls Park. The rocks are accessible to walk on in the water. Seems very fresh. Scenery is great. They have a shop you can go into to get food as well as souvenirs. There’s also a tower in the area, which is nice and you can see from a Birds Eye View would go back if I was in the area. God bless.

Falls Park is a really beautiful and peaceful. When we went, it seemed like the water was a little low. Overall a Park is really nice and family and dog friendly. We also went to the visitor center which is where the gift shop is located and took the elevator up to the observation tower.

It's a small park with water falls. You're not going to spend a lot time here but it's worth going. There are some historical references. The part that bother me was all the trash in the water. It's the towns name sake but it's filthy.

A very nice park and the lookout tower gives a great view! No cost to any of it either. A very clean and well maintained facility too.

Very nice Park but (sulfur or sewage) smell was overwhelming. Maybe we’re over sensitive but we could only handle for few minutes and has to leave.

Truly outstanding natural feature that was a must see on our road trip. We were curious as to how it would look in the freezing conditions of January. We spent well over an hour walking around it before the cold beat us back to the car. A must see!

Clean and spacious with clear pathways and plenty of free parking spaces. The tower was ok but the view wasn’t as good as being up close and personal to the falls.

It's a beautiful park with many places to wander to explore. The gift shop is small but nice and there's a tower attached that you can climb or take the elevator up to see the entire park.

Falls Park is a beautiful park with cascading waterfalls, meandering walkways, visitor center with observation tower, a cafe and turbine house. There’s also an “American Farmer” statue outside the visitor center that won the “Best of Show” award in the 2004 Sculpture Walk. The park is well-maintained and is the perfect setting for a leisurely walk. It’s just a stone’s throw from downtown Sioux Falls and is a definite must-see on a visit to Sioux Falls.

Gorgeous park with plenty of parking, clean bathroom facilities, nice walking trails, historic markers and of course the beautiful falls! Pack a picnic and enjoy the many delightful areas of the park and the stunning views of water.

I will say that the water wasn't as gushing as I thought it would be. It was low. But walking through the park, you get to see all the angles and it really is pretty. There were a fair amount of people there but not too many that you can't take some pics. But I think that's due to covid. Overall, it's a nice play to spend a sunny day.

Perhaps the river is lower due to the high temperatures, but I was expecting more or bigger falls. I wanted to buy a Sioux Falls shirt since my name is Sue, but after looking in about 5 stores, including an entire trip through the mall, there were none to be found. I was hoping to find one in the Visitor Center but we were unable to go as the parking lot was closed for something.

Water levels way down due to the drought, but still a wonderful place to wander around and enjoy the outdoors

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 4:45 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. There were plenty of parking spaces available, scattered across the park. There was a sidewalk encompassing the entire falls, that provided for some great views of the waterfall from all directions. There were also multiple benches alongside the trail, that provided for a great opportunity to rest and enjoy the views. At the very end of the falls was a gift shop/observation tower that was free to the public. One could reach the top of the observation tower by either climbing up 5 sets of stairs, or taking an elevator to the top. Once reaching the top, we were provided with beautiful sweeping views of the entire park. There was a small cafe located at the bottom of the falls as well as the ruins of an old mill. There were several observation decks built alongside the length of the trail, as well as informational plaques detailing the history of the falls, and what we were seeing in front of us. The falls were quite busy on the day that we went, and we saw a numerous amount of people walking, alongside their pets.
Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you truly want to see everything.

Heard about the falls and decided to stop. It was a very pleasant day to walk around. Loved seeing the historical building remnants and reading about them. With such a wonderful location we were quite surprised there wasn't much food available around there. Would be a great location to dine. Saw lots of families and wedding parties.

We drove from the Minneapolis area to Custer, SD. This stop was about 4 hours out, good stopping point for everyone to walk and stretch legs. Observation tower was cool. We forgot lunches and grabbed food at the cafe, wasn’t anything to brag about and was spendy.

This was a very peaceful and relaxing place. There is a walking trail around the falls, you can climb on the rocks or just pick one and sit for a spell. It's a good place to take pictures for those that enjoy photography.

Falls Park is breathtakingly beautiful. It provides a relaxing opportunity to enjoy nature at its finest. Enjoy views from the tower or various platform viewpoints. Also had a delicious lunch at the restaurant there.

What a beautiful site! Historical place made into a wonderful park. Lovely walking, reading the history of the falls, or reading a book underneath one of the shade trees on a large boulder!

What beautiful falls. What a beautiful and lovely place to take the family. We really enjoyed the falls and the cafe with the yummy ice cream. They even have allergy friendly options.

If you are nearby, make a stop to view the falls. So pretty and nice walking paths. Benches along the way to sit and enjoy watching/listening to the falls.

This was a great place to walk and observe the people. The tower is a must for great photos. This was a very good trip to relax and look around

Beautiful location to get out and enjoy the wonders of Mother Nature! Sioux Falls is blessed to have this park, and has maintained it well. Would recommend this outing to anyone!

This is a beautiful park and where the city gets its namesake. Definitely worth visiting. We climbed the tower, visited the Ag Building (which has more child-friendly, hands on exhibits in the lower level), and walked around the foot paths and falls. We stopped on a Saturday morning which also meant their farmer's market was happening, too. It was busy that morning, but totally worth the visit!

Nice walk with lots of cool waterfalls that keep going as you continue on in the park and there are lots of trails in the park.

These are so beautiful. Right in the middle of buildings hospitals and houses. This natural wonder is amazing to see.

If passing thru Sioux Falls, SD, take a break from driving and walk around this beautiful park. It is well worth the time.

Loved the falls and the area is beautiful! We spent a few hours enjoy the sights and sounds. Go up in the visitor center tower; the view is phenomenal!

Really pretty park with trails and cascading waterfalls. History of the old mill, lots of benches to sit and enjoy the view. The tower was free and fun to climb for good views from the top.

This park is absolutely beautiful. There are paved paths, many areas to take photos and videos and historical markers. A wonderful place to visit.
Interesting place to stop, walk and explore
We were in town for business and decided to check out the falls. While the river was not flowing high it was still interesting to see the red rock exposed by years of flowing water. Nice park to walk around and look at the different formations left behind.
