We had about a half hour to kill before meeting some friends for dinner, so I googled Forth Worth for something unique to see and do. Glad this place popped up! I'm sure it's even better in the Spring and Summer with the flowers fully in bloom and with the warmer temperatures, but even with it be a bit chilly, it was a great diversion. Would love to spend more time here someday.

This place is great if you're a lover of water and concrete! There's lots of water fountains which you can get super close to. Kids would love it here, and adults alike.

This place truly is a wonderfully soothing and serene spot in the middle of a hectic city. The sound of the water is truly calming and it is just a great spot to sit and relax. The structures themselves are truly unique and this place is quite a find and it is just so unexpected. This should be on your list of places to check out should you find yourself in town.

What a peaceful place just south of the hustle and bustle of downtown Fort Worth . I loved coming here when I worked downtown. No matter the temperature, it is always a nice place to be .

We were there in February and the water gardens were still pretty. It was neat that you could walk down into the middle of it. The sound of the water running was peaceful.

We visited as the sun was setting as we arrived in Fort Worth late. We were greeted by strange homeless men and drunks who were making us feel on edge, so that why I don't recommend to visit as the sun goes down and the area is less populated.

Free! And very cool!! This was on our list of must dos in Fort Worth and I’m glad we did. It didn’t take up a lot of time, but it was a neat way to spend an hour or so. What a neat, artistic concept!

This is a great free activity. I wouldn’t plan on more than a half hour here unless you are doing a large photo shoot. Lots of beautiful water exhibits, one where you can walk down into the waterfall. This is a great location to take pictures on a nice day. There are some areas like the mountain made for climbing, so wear appropriate footwear.

Loved the water architecture in this 5 acre park. It deserves 5 stars but dirty water created a foam swirl in the active water section.

It was like an oasis in the hot DFW weather. We had few hours to spend after Fort Worth zoo and decided to stop by this place. I wasn't expecting a lot from this place, but was pleasantly surprised to see a good stream of water flowing through the steps which is not only eye pleasing, but also brought a cold breeze on a hot Texas summer day. One has to be careful while going up and down the stairs as they can be slippery and unsafe for the kids without supervision. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and certainly one of the places to go when visiting Fort Worth.

I was really looking forward to seeing this, but it was not functioning. Not sure if it is permanently shut down or if they close for the season. Quite a few of us were visiting the site, and there were no signs that it was closed or needing repair. Just really disappointing.

This is a strange collection of concrete pools with a lack of greenery. The reflection pool was nice but the other pools are nothing to write home about. It was hot in April so I can’t imagine what it would be like later on in the summer. The water garden that you walk into looked extremely dangerous to me. We chose not to go down and doesn’t feel like we had missed out on anything.

Lovely cooling water gardens in the centre of lovely Forth Worth .Unusual concept for gardens in that most of the structure is stark concrete with straight lines but the effect of the water just softens everything .There are quiet areas and areas where the rushing water makes you feel you are in the wilds .Worth reading the plaques that explain the different concepts of the architect .Could take a half hour to visit or could take a book and read there for several hours .Again like everything in Forth Worth very clean well presented and safe .You can take the free Molly trolley 🚃 around downtown with stops on either side of the gardens .

All three waterfalls with their different themes and ambience were working. It was a beautiful sunny day so it was lovely to see some rainbows over the spray. The noisier waterfalls and pools were quite busy, but there were some restful places in the park. Unfortunately some people were paddling even though there are signs saying not to enter the water. I enjoyed seeing where the final scene of Logan's Run (Michael York and Jenny Agutter) was filmed.

We always take out of town guests to see the water Gardens. Iconic, unique, wonderful experience. Great photo op. Will continue to visit this place forever.

Try to fit in a visit to the Water Gardens, esp. at night. This was one of the first places I visited when I moved to Ft. Worth and it's still one of my favorites. They have small festivals at the gardens throughout the year, but mostly it's a great place to go and just chill. The water features are impressive and one features allows you to surround yourself with rushing water. Definitely make a night trip there if nothing else. When the lights are on and you need a break from the city hustle and the warm TX night.

It is a relaxing place where you can seat and enjoy the downtown view. It was very peaceful will take my grandchild.

It's beautiful, calming garden with lot of water bodies, best place for relaxation in the middle of fortworth

Wales from our hotel to the garden. Spent almost an hour enjoying. It's unbelievable how much time and money has gone into the garden. It's a must see.

I came across this place by chance on a map and took a chance building it into our itinerary. It didn't disappoint. We went early in the morning so we were the only people there, and it was amazing. Quiet, peaceful, just water and nature. I highly recommend it.

Designed by famous architect Philip Johnson, this water garden is not just a site to see. It is an interactive experience since you can walk on raised platform rocks throughout the water garden area,. It also give you the opportunity for some interesting photographs.

When I arrived at the Active Water Pool, I was fascinated. There were many waterfalls.
We could walk near the waterfalls. That was cool!
The Aerated pool was mist pools. That was cool as well.
The last one was the Quiet Pool. It was a swimming pool.
We stayed here for a long time, because it was so gorgeous!
This is worthwhile! Wow!
I will never forget this!

During the day the Water gardens are beautiful to walk threw and just sit and enjoy the view! But to make it even better you should book a room at the Sheraton downtown Fort Worth! All you have to do is ask for the city view room in the north tower to be able to really experience the breathtaking view right there from your room! The evenings when the lights come on in the water gardens you will fall in love! And let me just add... if your are lucky enough when you go to the outstanding Sheraton downtown Fort Worth you will have the privilege to meet Summer who works as the front desk agent! She will take care of you like family.

Very eye catching water flowing design. An hour's time went just like that. While reading about this garden, I came across some an article where few kids drowned in the center of the pool. This news kind of prevented our family going down the stairs. The other 2 water features are not working at the time we went. This one seems to be the unique feature attracting all ages of the family.

There are 3 different fountains. It is very crowded in the weekend. Still a grand place to visit. Despite several signs not to touch the water, several adults and children were in them. Hard to keep things nice and safe when people are so irresponsible.

Suddenly, there it is! Near convention center. Cool and misty site on a warm day. Popular site for photographers. Many angles and levels of concrete as well as water sprays. Great for background photographs or just to sit and enjoy for a while. If you are sstaying at the Omni Hotel, Sheraton or Hilton downtown you are not far away. Don't miss it.

Cool place, looks kind of neat, but don't go out of your way. Not very big and touring the whole thing takes less than 10 minutes. If you are in the area check it out , but not a destination. Trivia, it is used in a scene in the movie "Logans Run"

After parking in a lot near the Santa Fe Train station and paying $7.00 by credit card to a machine, we walked a short distance to the Water Gardens. There are parking meters on the street but you must have coins.
Four words describes our visit - well worth our time! Be sure to walk down to the quiet pool.

We made a special trip to see this, based in part on the high reviews on TripAdvisor. "#8 out of 134 things to see" it said, with rave reviews. When we went, the main fountain was not working and the tank was empty, looking like a lake dried up after a long drought, rings and all.
The second of three fountains had half of its nozzles not working--and the descriptive sign talked about what the created *wanted* to do with the fountain (an interactive one where the guests could walk through) instead of what it actually was (look but stay away); and in the end it was like any other municipal fountain coming out of a pool.
The third pool with its towering cypress trees was nice and I liked the water flowing down the walls. But it had signs all around saying it was a crime to wade in the water... even though there were big stairs right into it.
Finally, the 20 foot unfenced wall ("the mountain") was terrifying to me as a parent--I could just see my little child wandering over the edge and tumbling straight down to the concrete below. I'm surprised the city's risk management department allowed it at all!
I'm not saying it is not a nice respite in a concrete jungle. It is very pretty and the landscaping and trees are beautiful. It is very well-kept and it is clean.
What I'm saying is that we went into downtown (not near the museums or Stockyards) specifically to see this, and I am glad it was Sunday afternoon with free parking across the street because I was underwhelmed based on what I had expected.

This can be squeezed into you s hedule easily. It is a lovely park with some impressive water features. Lots of cascading falls.

You must really be board to do this one. It’s On the edge of downtown Ft. Worth and it’s not much. 70s design, reminds me of early DFW airport. Good luck on this one.

There was only a trickle of water running and we didn’t even get out of the car. So far away from Sundance Square. I remember when it was built and wanted to show my son but it was not good.

Got drug here by a friend of mine with the promise of a good time. It was 31 degrees outside, and the rushing water made it feel exponentially colder. It was a very cool place for a visit, no pun intended. I could definitely see coming here when the weather was warmer to bask in some sunshine.

Enjoyed walking the gardens. Colorful lights. Great photo opportunities. Great for groups too. This is a must go to if coming to Fort Worth.

The water gardens are great but make sure you wear tennis shoes and hold your kids hands. When you go down the steps it could get slippery.

I like to bring out-of-town guests here. Even in the heat, you get some cool mist from the water. There's shade from the trees in the park/gardens. The large pool gets a lot of attention, but walk all around and see all the different fountains and pools.

Limited viewing for wheelchair users glad we did not have to pay entrance. What I did manage to see was very good. Steps to most areas where ramps could have been in place without detracting from the area.

If you are thinking of bringing your kids here, do not as there is nothing exciting to see. There are vagrants doing illegal stuffs here that will leave a bad impression to your kids.

If you are looking for things to do go downtown and walk the water gardens. you won't be disappointed especially during the spring and summer times when the water is moving at its best.

Short walk from hotel. If you are already downtown its a great attraction. I wouldn't drive here just to see it tho. It is a nice addition to the downtown area. The Water Gardens was not crowded and a nice place to sit and relax.

A wonderful place to rest up, especially on a hot day.
I went down and did little yoga meditation - I know I know - with the gushing water.

This is a beautiful structure to visit. It has four different sections with various water features. The steps are sunken with water flowing from top to bottom. Worth the visit. There is no tickets for this attraction.

The family enjoyed the visit. Popular attraction, we went on a Friday evening. Sitting and watching the water was serene.

Nice outdoor place to walk around and enjoy. After dinner nearby it was a great place to walk around and investigate at sundown. Great free experience when in the area.

The water gardens are always a nice day trip. It is in the middle of downtown so sometimes parking can be difficult to find. Luckily parking is free on the weekends. It is an open entry, nice place to walk or take photos. We went last week and saw a guy propose to his girlfriend. It gets a little crowded right by the water but it's beautiful for sure. Sometimes there will be people with carts selling food items or drinks. Fun place for the family, couples, or just a solo walk.

Definitely worth a quick visit if you're in the area. There are three water features and one "mountain" feature. Great place to hang out for a bit. Very peaceful and relaxing, at least when there aren't a ton of people around. The walk down into the largest water feature could be a bit treacherous if you're not careful. It gets fairly narrow in spots, and can be a bit slippery. No guard rails and with the water rushing underneath you, it can be a bit disorienting. It's cool once you're down there, just be careful is all I'm saying. Still nice to see from the top if you don't want to walk down into it.

I walk through the water gardens several times a year while in Fort Worth on business. A very relaxing place in the hustle and bustle of the city..

Nice, free, relaxing place to visit. Climbing up and down the wet cement blocks is a little slippery with the algae on it. Step carefully.

You owe it to yourself to see the Water Gardens in Fort Worth !! The genius design of these water gardens will blow you away. The engineering of the model takes millions of gallons of water and recirculates it through concrete structures and then back again. There is three different areas to see. The still pond, the moving water, and the aeration pond. WOW, whatever you do, go see this place and relax.

I stopped here a year ago to take a walk arund the city of Fort Worth. While Dallas gets all the hype as a mega Texas city Fort Worth is a small walkable gem starting at the water gardens. My visit was on a hot, humid Texas day. Not knowing what to expect I began walking around the garden. The large mature trees provided shade that cooled the suns rays. Meanwhile the sound of rushing water invited me to sit and admire an oasis on the fringe of downtown Fort Worth. The shaded views and diversity of fountains deserve at an hour of your time if you ever visit Fort Worth.

I have never seen anything like these water gardens. They are awesome! A great place to stroll, relax, sit in the shade, or just listen to the rhythm of the water flow.

Wonderful place to walk or sit and relax. Cool place to people watch and eat a bag lunch. I enjoy taking kids to see where Logan's Run was filmed.

3 interestingly designed bodies of water in a lovely environment that is well worth time to visit. It really is worth seeing.

The meters take coins and it's not expensive. Pleasant gardens to stroll in/through. Different areas. It wasn't busy or noisy when we went. That was nice. Interesting signs to read.

Pretty at night. Not every exciting. Clean water for the most part...it is outside. Easy to get too. Walking distance from major hotels. Kid friendly.

Beautiful compilation of fountains... The sound of waterfall make the surrounding tranquil even with the crowds.

The Water Gardens are a nice place to take your special someone to sit and meditate under the stars or a lazy afternoon. Lots of different types of waterfalls hidden downtown.

Ended up following the crowds for Tarrant County Pride Day. The festival was lively but the setting was even better. Was not planning on visiting when mapping out the trip but must suggest that everyone visit. It's really a gem in downtown.

Imagine walking along a peaceful garden with flowing water and peaceful surroundings. A great place to be still and cast your cares away. Best of all the water gardens are FREE to all.

Family friendly area to walk around, or sit to read a book or people watch. Many graduates went there to take their cap and gown photos , it’s very iconic. Please know that you aren’t supposed to get into the fountains or climb on the structures, many people do. If you have little ones, keep a close eye on them, they can easily get injured.

It is a nice place to visit. The design of the fountains is great, a real architectural jewel. It is the first time that we visited a water garden where you can walk into the center of the fountain without getting wet.

I’ve lived in Fort Worth many years but just now visited this sight. Wow really a neat place and so peaceful. I’ll be back for sure.

A park, a fountain, a monumental work of sculpture. The Water Gardens are a spot to explore the architecture and yourself. Well worth a visit, but expect to spend more time there than you had originally planned.

We parked on the street and had to walk around to an entrance. The most interesting of the water areas was where you walk down steps into a bowl of waterfalls. With smaller kids, I would have been nervous. It did make me a little dizzy with the water rushing down around me. My kids also enjoyed climbing the walls around We spent about 40 minutes total. It was a nice place to be free.

Didn’t think I could get excited about water gardens but this area in Fort Worth surprised . Nice .. therapeutic for sure .. enjoyed a lot .

Great place to stop to walk around for a quick visit. There are 3 water features to visit and stone mountain to climb. The 14 and 10 year olds burned off some energy. Bring some change to feed the meters so you don’t have to bother paying with your phone.

This place was super cool! A little hard to find parking on the weekend but worth it. There’s a variety of water “pools”/architecture pieces. No swimming or wading allowed. Can bring pets but not into the water. Very relaxing with all the water around. Can sit and put your feet in and just observe. Would be neat for a photo shoot. Family, friends or couples would all have fun.

A great way to spend the morning and get some refresh air. The water features in the garden are not only beautiful to look at, but interactive. The sound of the running water makes it an extra tranquil experience

This is a a nice and relaxing place
Watching, hearing and being surrounded by the cascading water was a fun activity
The grounds are well kept
Parking not a problem

We visited the water gardens at night and were so happy we did! Absolutely beautiful, each of the three fountains was located in a separate area of the park. My kids enjoyed climbing the "mountain" and really enjoyed exploring the water features. We spent less than an hour here, but will always remember it.

We didn’t really know what to expect from the Water Garden but we were pleasantly surprised.
We found the area to be very interesting and tranquil. The walkway down the big fountain is quite nerve wracking, but worth it!
I would definitely recommend if you are in the area.

Stopped by early before leaving town after a weekend of visiting local attractions. This is a very amazing water design Enjoyed being able to walk down to the bottom The other water features are equally enjoyable. Nice place to visit read a book or just enjoy the sound of water

This was a unique urban water park. A nice place to walk, spend some time outside, and be contemplative. Conveniently located.

We took a pit stop at the park! Lots of conference kids! Just one homeless man. Really pretty relaxing park! The water feature u can walk down into it! Loved it!

My family and I used to always stop here when passing through FT Worth when I was little. And we LOVED it! I wanted to share the experience with my children....that was a mistake. It is now crime-ridden and dirty. We had a homeless woman following us around and wouldn't let us be. And down in the quiet pool area there was a drug deal going down in broad daylight with people all around. The dealer literally set all of his "products and paraphernalia" on the edge of the pool for all the world to see and the "customer" decided to get high right there and stuck the needle in his arm right infront of my kids. And then threw the dirty needle into the water. As we were leaving the customer was making a fool of himself yelling and waving his arms. He walked right across the street, through a group of business men, and straight into the lobby of the Sheraton hotel...we never saw him thrown out either. I guess he was a guest. Where I'm confused is the fact that the city and PD know about all of the homeless and drug activities that go on here and we never saw a single police officer or security guard. No wonder the activities continue to get worse...

Dont expect to be wowed. I wouldn't recommend driving all the way here just to see this. Will be better if you are sighting other sites too.

If you are looking for a free place to relax and take awesome photos, this is the place to go for. The only think you need to paid is for the parking.

Nice place for relax or spend some time in shadow. Clean place with plenty space for hanging around. Walking distance to Sundance Square.

The Ft Worth Water Gardens are a great place to Meditate. Nice sounds of running water when the tourist count is low.

A large area (not just the famous waterfall & steps) that consists of concrete steps, open plazas, pools, and fountains. Water had very little trash in it despite being very busy and a holiday weekend. There are some areas that are quite steep and have no handrails - this obviously wasn't built recently! So keep a close eye on those young kiddos.

Love the water gardens. We go there occasionally as a family. It's peaceful, beautiful, and free! Very interesting architecture.

Awesome visual and auditory experience in downtown Ft Worth is a pleasant surprise to come across. Relaxing and envigorating at the same time, well worth the time to stroll thru.

We were here late on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. We parked on the street with a parking meter, but it is free on weekends. My husband and I did not walk all the way to the bottom but our 13 year old did several times. I did put my feet in the water for a few minutes and it was very refreshing after walking all day. This is a great place to take pictures. There is also another area across the way that has a different water display. We did not feel unsafe at all, there was someone selling drinks and snacks that was very welcome at the time. Great place to spend a few minutes in the middle of downtown Fort Worth.

I really like this place built on or near the site of hells half Acre. You will probably be ask for money From some of the professional beggars. It’s great at night but you may want to use your chl.

The description says four acre of water features so I guess I was expecting more water fountains than there were. What there was there were pretty, just not what I was expecting.

I visited at night, just across street from Omni. Lighting was subdued, but provided a truly unique walking experience.

This was a nice little water garden for a downtown area. We enjoyed our stroll. Just know it’s more of a quick-stroll kind of place rather than its own destination. Check it out if you’re in the area, but don’t travel there for it.

While visiting downtown, we made a stop at the Water gardens. I will say this. If you are stressed and just need a sound of beauty to relax, this is the place to go. The roar of the water brought so much peace and relaxation. It appears this is a popular spot so it can get busy at times but for the most part, we really enjoyed ourselves.

Most of the water pumped erred not turned on so not much to look at. I guess it would be cool to look at if everything was running.

Right in the middle of Ft. Worth is this amazing water garden. Who could have guessed something like this would exist in such a drab downtown? We dropped by here late on a Sunday afternoon and there was a little bit of everything--vendors selling hot dogs, people getting engagement pictures taken, people here for conventions and just locals. The waterfalls are world-class.

These gardens are just wonderful! Take a stroll through the park and cool down between the water sprays. Very well maintained and very pretty to look at!

I have pictures of myself with my dad in the 70's, standing on one of the blocks below. It still amazes me to this day and has a peaceful feeling that only a waterfall can have.

Nice oasis in middle of Fort Worth, Cool water falls, relaxing area. The steps down into the waterfall...amazing

This is the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Amazing!
1.There are 3 water gardens
The first one is the Forth Fort Worth Water Gardens.
It is amazing!
Huge fountains!
2. Next is the Aerated Pool
3. And the third is the Quiet Pod.

Neat park to walk around but a bit packed. Really enjoyed seeing all kinds of fountains. Parking wasn’t to bad once you can figure out where to park. But neat place to walk around.

The water gardens were not quite what I expected. The water was very green in one of them and another had water in only part of it. One was completely closed off and dry. There's a lot a concrete there. Parts of it were pretty though.

We used to take our boys here all the time when they were young. They loved it for all of the water features. I loved how peaceful it was, even though it's in an urban area.

Funny I have been there close and never visited until this time. Pretty nice to relax bring a drink or snacks or a book or just relax and see the waters.

Worth stopping to see if you are in Ft. Worth. Designed by the famous architect, Philip Johnson, it is a beautiful and peaceful place.

This is a great place we like to take friends who come in from out of town. It is a cool downtown sight near restaurants and night life.

The Ft. Worth Water Gardens are such a beautiful way to bring some natural elements, space and water into an otherwise bleak urban landscape. The sensation walking down into the gardens is really transformative and healing. Our friend from Kenya was amazed and delighted.

Multiple fountains and reflection pools. Dusk it comes alive with families, couples enjoying its beauty and the coolness brought by the fountains.

Some visitors don't realize there are actually three features, not just the one on the east side we all think about (which was used for the place of emergence in the movie Logan's Run). Walk to the east as climb "the Mountain" and visit the "Quiet Pool". What a wonderful public space in a big city. We were there in March 2021 after "the big freeze" - the water was not gushing like I remembered, but it was still beautiful. The park was well maintained with no trash - good job Parks Department!

This is a really lovely spot in downtown Fort Worth. We were there on a Sunday so metered street parking was easy. I would have given this site a 5 but one section of the fountains was not working.

Definitely walk around this beautiful installation of three pools and water running down walls, fountains, steps down and around. Beautiful oasis in middle of Fort Worth.

We loved the water garden structures. Worth a trip downtown and several other things to visit in close proximity

There was only one stream of water going. They stopped all the fountains due to safety issues. It is very unfortunate. They’re just was nothing much to look at.

Initially I thought this would not be interesting. But it is. It sits on the same campus as the Convention center. Water flows over giant steps to the basin below offering up a cool mist. Carefully you can walk down to the basin. As a warning, the water moves fast and they have the names of several people who have died in the Gardens. It is pretty, but if you are unsafe, it can be dangerous.

We spent about an hour here just relaxing by the water on a beautiful day. After walking around Ft Worth, it was nice to take our shoes off and sit on the steps with our feet in the water. A great place to take your kids.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens are a variety of waterfalls that show some cool architecture. It's a nice place to go for a stroll or just to enjoy some quiet time. Would recommend to go if you have 15-30 mins.

Flowing, falling, spraying, trickling. Water used so magically. Kudos to the City of Fort Worth for this creative space.

The water Gardens are a few metres from Forth Worth train station. The park has huge water fountains and is very well designed. If you are in Forth Worth is worth to visit

The gardens was an unusual mixture of water, plants, trees and stone that created different visual stimuli for the eyes, ears and fingers.
For the ears, it was peaceful but the rushing of water was heard as one got closer to the waterfall. What started as a quiet flow at the top, turned into a roar down at the bottom. Water spray from the falls were limited but the stones were wet and care should be taken while hopping from stone to stone.
The mountain had significantly higher steps making a challenge to climb but one gets a nice perspective from the top.
The open plaza encouraged playing or socializing and taking in nice views of the sunset. Lots of good photo ops as well.
The aerated pool was not working during my visit.
Only street parking was available and easily found with free parking after 6pm. The Sheraton hotel was just right across the street if you want to stay overnight nearby.

Fort Worth Water Gardens = it pays to do a little bit of research. We were staying at a hotel in the FW Stockyards and may have never found this place. We stopped by Monday mid-morning and the sun was just right for great shadowy pictures. I found the steps too steep for my bad knee to go down the main waterfall, but my DH took some photos. The area is lovely, but don't think this an water park for children = keep an eye on them.
The water gardens are free, parking nearby may have an hourly fee or look for a place on the street.

Great little park. Like living water sculptures made with different pools; a large cascade, large flat pool, large set of fountains. Peaceful retreat.

Street people have taken over w people doing drugs in sunken pool area. This area does not feel safe.

This is such a incredible and wonderful event...the sounds are remarkable. I forget the name of the movie that included this garden...think it included Peter Ustinov. This is a neat get-away in downtown.

An interesting peaceful place in the center of a city - unique architecture and water features of three large instalations - the zen garden is very soothing - great place for yoga or meditation or lunch! The steps were very modern and fun to climb down. And the puff fountain was really pretty - told it is lit at night - sadly we did not see that.

Great place to take a break of the rush of travel, beautiful and peaceful, is a must see just because is something different. Be prepare to go up and down on wet stairs, but not required with you don’t want to. Free to get in and parking was not that hard to find ( maybe during summer days can be).

This park hasn’t changed much in the last 25 years and could use some new features. There is room so I don’t know why they haven’t developed it more.

We lived in DFW for a year and never came down here. Why? It’s peaceful, beautiful, and a lovely place to get lost for an hour in downtown Ft. Worth. There’s an old 80s documentary floating around on the internet about the creation of the Water Gardens and it’s worth the viewing if you’ve got a moment. You’ll find out about why they designed each of the sections, how they envisioned patrons interacting with the water, and even a bit about the “Alice in Wonderland” stairs.

We visited on a Sunday morning and marveled at the creativity of this water garden. It was very hot that day but the flowing water kept the air cool and there was plenty of shade. Nice place for children and adults.

Was nice to see this. Nice area close to down town. A pity that it’s not allowed to go in the water because it was so hot.

It's a very pretty area that's a bit of an oasis in downtown. The fountain is beautiful, the sound of the water is relaxing and there's even a bunch of trees that block out the skyline giving you the feeling you're not right in the city.

Went to explore for the first time. Three main water features. The flat pool was not up kept and was full of leaves. All the surrounding trees are dead. The water feature with fountains was on but water was very low and you can see all the fountains. The third main feature was not on, no water at all.

Many restaurants and bars to choose. Very safe atmosphere for family and children. The area is patrolled by a private policy force and you will feel very safe. Restaurants vary from casual to fine food. The bars offer different themes. This is a must visit.

When visiting Fort Worth you should take the time to visit this very peaceful and beautiful attraction, right in the heart of Fort Worth you are transferred into a world of water, peace and beauty.
The Fort Worth Water Gardens is a huge artistic installation that you walk through and experience the elements of falling water from various heights. The history of this place is dark, but certainly is a beautiful place to discover.

Beautiful waterfalls and water Gardens in an urban setting.
A quick side trip; spend 5 minutes or an hour, but worth walking through and snapping a selfie if you're in the area.

It's a neat, sunken water garden where you can go up and down the steps. It was a bit crowded when we went, so it was difficult to maneuver around people going the opposite direction from you (the path was about 4 feet wide), but still a fun place to explore. We easily found street parking in downtown too and walked over.

It was a beautiful day and while in Fort Worth decided to do a Segway tour that incompassed the downtown area and more. We passed through and did quite a few stops here and what a blessing they have. The people in the area must be in heaven during lunch breaks. Definitely a must see while in the area.

It was kind of crowded when we went, but it still felt peaceful. The sound of the water is soothing, and it's fun to climb on the steps. Just be careful.

Beautiful view, people of all ages wants to visit . Such a serene atmosphere with beautiful light effect.

The Water Gardens include several different areas with "pools" and water walls. It's not so large that you can't see all of it in less than an hour but it's a perfect place to rest in the shade and relax. There is a "Quiet" area with the "pool' in the center and is surrounded by stone (staggered) walls with rushing water. There are flat stones you can walk down to reach the center. The rushing water under the stones could cause vertigo and the stones were partially wet. I did walk to the bottom but share the information for those who haven't visited.

This is definitely worth exploring. I would suggest getting there as it becomes to dark to fully enjoy all the lighting in the 3 different areas. Lots of fun tings to climb too.

Very beautiful to see in person. I was very nervous about walking around inside the water gardens. My husband walked down to the bottom when I wasn’t looking with our daughter. It made me very nervous. Would not suggest for families with small children.

The site of the iconic scene from Logan's Run, a great free place to hang out and enjoy the sounds of moving water. Definitely a must see if you are in Fort Worth.

Great stop in downtown Fort Worth. Several different garden areas to visit. I was really surprised how nice well kept and clean everything was. You can walk across stepping stones to the bottom of the main falls. A little intimidating for the less adventurous. The water rushes below your feet as you step closer to the base and the rushing water gets louder the further down you get. I giggled watching a few younger people quickly turn around and get back near the top. Don't miss the JFK Memorial nearby

This is a very peaceful place to just sit & watch the water trickle over the steps. There are a few areas to see different fountains. We can stay at the top or walk down the steps to the bottom. Interesting view from both spots.

The name implies it all but doesn’t do it justice. This is a downtown oasis, suitable for a romantic stroll with your sweetheart, a nice resting spot from a busy day doing business downtown, young family frolicking, or older family enjoyment. It is a serene park where the sound of running water is omnipresent. Highly recommended!

Due to a festival in the square, the entire water gardens were fenced off. From the outside looking in, it looks like it has seen better day.

If you are staying in a nearby hotel, it's worth a walk over to check it out. It's an interesting art piece to downtown Fort Worth, but Don't go out of your way to go visit this spot, you will be underwhelmed. What you see from pictures is basically what you get... Go in the morning to late afternoon, not recommended at night.

This was a cool escape from the city, although located in the middle of the city. It was relaxing and peaceful experience to sit and listen to the rushing water or to walk to the bottom and see the waterfalls coming down around you. The other pools were tranquil and calming as well. Glad we discovered this park.

Amazing place right in the center of the city. Great place just for fun and relax. It’s worth visiting.

We stayed at the Omni across the street from this beautiful park this weekend and decided to walk over Sunday morning to check it out. It was virtually empty and a beautiful setting up for a morning stroll. We really enjoyed reading about the architecture and walking around each of the different pools. This is a beautiful spot in downtown Fort Worth!

It is a place of mind resting, thought provoking, and historical Hollywood film making site. The 1977 Sci Fi film "Logan's Run" final water scene was filmed here! One of my favorite Texas places I go to,when I visit.

We had a good time visiting family, we saw Fortworth;Texas Stockton yards and that was very nice and lots of fun. There’s a nice sceanery and shopping and good food.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens is in fact, one of my favorite places to revisit when I return to visit Family in the Dallas/Fort Wort Areas. In 1975,I was a extra actor at the site, as a Sandman Enforcer I was in the military then an sort of Glided into being in it from a Film Casting Friend, Love it,and I plan I visiting it again soo,. I will most likely be there in my Sandman uniform when I do.It will be the 50th Anniversary in 2026.

Take your time here to savour the peacefulness of this place. There are four different areas to it and each one has something to commend it. A lovely place to just relax in the city.

The place is beautiful with several water features. Trees were in full Autumn/Fall colors. Nice and calm atmosphere

I like the water gardens. It's a nice, shady (in some places) place to enjoy some free time downtown. Waterfall walls and fountains as well as the big water feature with steps down into the man-made "vortex" (what is that thing called anyway?) make this a lovely, relaxing place to visit.

The Fort Worth Water Gardens made for an interesting time. It’s both interesting and relaxing to watch the different water displays. Very much worth the walk from Sundance Square.

Walk down in this water garden more like water serenity...almost like being in a waterfall without getting wet. Be careful not to fall in as I have heard its dangerous but the water is definitely relaxing and no one will hurry you out during regular hours.

This is a great place to take photos. The water gardens are very beautiful but not too big. Parents with younger children will need to make sure that they stay close since the water is right there. Some placed for kids to climb and spots to sit and eat/relax.

The Fort Worth Water Garden is adjacent to the Fort Worth Convention Center and between the Omni and Sheraton. It’s a creative concept which has created a great city space. The water garden is made up of several displays of flowing water allowing photo opportunities. In addition, the Zen like atmosphere creates a peaceful setting to reflect on life. It was such a treat to enjoy this beautiful location.

This is a unique feature for Ft Worth, and definitely a great way to spend an afternoon. Would make a great picnic spot, and is perfect for families looking for a place to toss a frisbee.

Fantastic design, great use of water to provide that deep moment of freedom for the tired and weary. And it is in the middle of downtown Fort Worth but when you are down at the bottom of the active pool with gushing water and cooler air, you are miles away from everything. Thirst quenching for the soul.

We were staying at the Omni, which is right across the street. So we wandered over to check it out. It was very windy so we couldn't enjoy it as much as we wanted. Due to the wind, we chickened out going down into the area where you have to traverse many steps. But we enjoyed our visit anyway.

The water was turned off. I understand droughts and conserving water however, no where was this mentioned on their website or on TripAdvisor. Very disappointing to pay for an Uber to get us there simply to find a dry water garden.

It was nice to see, but it was pretty crowded. We just looked at and left as there were too many people just hanging out around and in the water.

We arrived as two couples to the Water Gardens. Went on a Sunday and found an open and free parking space on the street. Looks like 4 sections in this easily walkable area (water falls, mounrtain, quiet falls and a misting garden). Spent the most time at the water falls, even venturing down the staggered stairs to a lower level. Occasionally a traffic jam as groups moving up and/or down share the stairs. Most people were polite to take their turn and allow others to pass. The other spots were nice to look at as well. The other younger couple we came with climber the mountain as we enjoyed from below. Overall, a good stop to spend a lunch hour.

I was attending conference at the convention center and had a few minutes to go outside. The Water Gardens were being enjoyed by many people, some sitting and chatting while others strolled the circumference. It was pretty cool out but was still a relaxing time here.

Fort Worth has a substantial homeless population and the shelters are within two miles. On and off this place becomes a gathering place for the homeless. The city marshal's and parks and rec chase them off but they drift back.
With that said this place is one of my favorite water sculptures. Two tourists drowned here a couple of years ago and they have turned down the volume of water. It is still and interesting place to see. be careful if you walk down to the location in the picture.

Beautiful, serene place. Quite unique. Free to visit and enjoy. One of the water gardens has small waterfalls that descend into shallow pools. You can walk from the top down to the very bottom on small cement platforms that get smaller and smaller going to the bottom. Some of them can be slippery. There is nothing to hold on to. The walk down are the same stones that people are also returning back to the top on. One slip or fall would be very bad. Lovely but dangerous. Not recommended for children or the elderly.

This was a great place to visit in downtown Fort Worth. You can even walk down to the center area pool and experience the waterwall from the bottom. A definite site to see in the city.

Stunning and clean city, worth a calm stroll through the gardens. The fountains are photogenic day and night

This is such a neat attraction for the Fort Worth Downtown area. I visited during the day and at night. I was too late at night, as the water and lights had already been turned down. This a beautiful and serene area to visit. I highly suggest you give it a look.

It contains three different water sculptures. The first one is a meditation pool, the second one is composed of spraying fountains, and the third one is an active pool. It is a nice place to relax with family or friends.

This was a great stop for a quick visit. Nice and peaceful! Only problem is that the main area (the one in all the pics) is closed. I understand why, but if it’s never gonna be reopened stop using it as the main advertisement picture.

This is quite a large space with water cascades all around. Enjoyed walking to the pool via the wide stepping platforms. Great place to get some interesting camera shots. Really enjoyed sitting listening to the rushing water. Perfect for a sunny afternoon in the park.

We stayed at the Omni Fort Worth and the Fort Worth Waters Gardeners are right across the street! This is a must see!! You don’t want to miss going there if you have the time. This was our second visit and my daughter and son-in-law first visit. They loved it!!

A bit of modern architecture and many water works.
Many were climbing and walking on the water works. I simply watched.
Fun place.

Our hotel was located across the road so we thought we'd take a peak. What a pleasant surprise. You really don't see much from the road, and it is well worth a visit. And it's free! A nice place to visit on a hot day! Well done Ft Worth.

Was here on vacation in May of 2019. Never saw anything like this before in my life. Very interesting and cool! Something for everyone, and fun for the whole family. You can get away from the heat here very well. A must see if you are in the area!

The water gardens are a cool shady spot in an urban area and worth a stop to see. There’s not much to do other than see the water garden, but it’s worth a stop if you are in the area. It’s within a half mile of Sundance Square or take the free Molly the Trolley and it drops you off right across the street.

Urban Park in downtown Fort Worth featuring interesting water features including fountains and terrace pools with waterfalls. Opened in 1972 and designed by noted architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee, it really is striking public artwork. I would describe the Water Gardens as more interesting in appearance than beautiful. It was not busy when I visited on a Saturday afternoon in June. It is worth taking a look if you are in downtown Fort Worth.

We were really excited to see the gardens but were pretty disappointed overall. The main area only had a portion of the water turned on and it was pretty evident it has been that way for a while.
As others have said, there are homeless people there also. We weren't bothered and I would have been happy to give them a few dollars, but they were too...interesting... to get close to.
Focus is needed to clean the place up and get everything operational again. If that happens, we would be happy to go back.

I really didn’t think that this was all that special, some of the water fountain wasn’t working and it is literally just some fountains in the middle of a concrete park. If you’re in the area, then go ahead and visit, but if you’re not then don’t go out of your way.

This is where the exit scene from Logan' Run was filmed om the water gardens.
They are still impressive, but the fountain pictured here as designed to intimidate you with the power of water...sadly it has been tamed and calmed quite a bit. It a terrible accident\crime some years ago, a father let his kids try to swim in the pool at the bottom...despite the many warning signs.

This is very cool, serene. It is a public park, just a short walk from the hotel. Great place to take pictures!

This is a nice place to set and relax but please be careful if you have small children. They can't help themselves they want to get down and touch the water. It is very rare but they have had a few people drowned.

We left this attraction as the last stop to visit in FW. Therefore, we came around 9 PM when it was dark, and unfortunately the waterfalls are not so well lit.
Anyway, I was amazed with them. The pics you see cannot bring you the impression when you're there - that's why I underestimated them thinking they're just a set of water blocks.
First of all, the whole complex is bigger and deeper than it appears on pics. Walking down from the top on beetling blocks IS A MUST, just watch your step and crowds around, you'll be amazed with water volume and water sound around you.

The first time in the day was okay - underwhelming but was staying nearby so was interesting place to have my coffee. The second time, I took the kids because it’s supposed to be lit up at night and was told it was “better”. Again staying close (would not go out of my way for this), and most of them were under repair not to mention the area became sketchy at night.

I am glad we came across this and visited on a quiet day. I wouldn't want to be here if it was busy (which I've read can happen in the warm summer months) because it would be a bit scary going up and down the steps in crowded. We enjoyed walking down the steps and would definitely return again.

This had to be the coolest display of water fountains I have ever seen. If you go to Fort Worth and if you do not go there you are missing out. There's warning signs all over to be very careful and not fall in.

Absolutely loved visiting the Water Gardens. Beautiful spot to kick back, relax, listen to the water and enjoy some photo opportunities. I will be back each time I visit Fort Worth!

This is a beautiful water garden, it is family friendly, open concept, relaxing atmosphere, excellent place to visit.

Great place to relax, wind down, read the newspaper or book!
Always take pictures of loved ones and friends!
One can take a blanket to sit down on grassy areas and enjoy time with children playing.
This Water Garden makes you imagine you are in another part of the world and not just in Texas.
Our family has cherished precious memories from all of our previous visits!

With the new Trinity Metro train going to downtown Fort Worth, the Water Gardens were the first stop after passing through the T&P Station with its beautiful art deco ceiling. My six year old grandson was amazed to walk around and down into the water features, then to climb the surrounding walls. He has asked a couple times to go back. The Fort Worth Water Garden is a great NO cost entrance to the fun walking downtown.

I took my family here that was visiting from California. Both the older crowd and the kids loved it! It’s such a unique spot that is perfect to enjoy with others or just sit and contemplate life alone. There are three main pools- Quiet, Aerated and Active as well as a variety of water features. Water falls and gentle water spilling over the sides of stone walls. Many people had their feet in the water to cool off. I walked to the bottom of the active pool with 3 kids 8- 14. Walk slowly since the rock slabs are placed several inches apart, but it isn’t slippery. The park also has grassy areas and many places to sit and rest. A lovely and calm environment to spend an afternoon.

The Water Gardens are a very hip little location tucked into the south of downtown Fort Worth, right next to the Convention Center. I visited this urban park during the mid-day time and in the evening around 8:00 PM, when it was lit up. Both times, it was a really cool experience. The architecture and use of patterns with the water elements are very neat. There is signage explaining the different points of interest in the park. The eastern side key structure allows you to walk your way down to the bottom of the water feature - fantastic. The aerated water zone lights up at night - equally as cool. This is a really neat stop, and while it will not take a lot of time to see the different spaces, it's a great respite from any urban experience you may be having, or perhaps just a break from a conference.

It is just an unexpected and a beautiful place in the middle of downtown fort worth. Have been there several times.

We bring all our company for a day trip here. Well worth the trip. Friendly and knowledge staff. A must visit in Fort Worth.

Seems nice if it is on. We went and the fountains were off but looks nice and relaxing. The kids enjoyed climbing on the stairs. There are plenty of those.

I wish we had arrived earlier in the day when it would have been less crowded, although it wasn't horribly crowded. There is some parking on the street or a parking garage across the street.
Great place to photograph... the steps going down or back up get narrow in some areas creating a bit of a backup...
Patience is a virtue...and worth feeling the magnificence of the creation.

I find the water garden to be very tranquil and relaxing. Every time we visit there never any else there. Personally I don’t like the location but if it was located anywhere else downtown. Then it might lose it’s tranquility. It’s a great place to sit on a warm summer day. The running water and trees will cool you off.

The Water Gardens have been around as long as I can remember and I've stopped by for an hour and sometimes stayed for several hours. It's always a great place to relax, meditate, people watch or just observe the city from a serene viewpoint. AND it's free. Can't beat that when you're looking for something unique to do. Look into the history if you're a film buff, several movies have been filmed there.

Got up early and went to check out the gardens solo. Absolutely beautiful place to sip your morning coffee and wait for the sun to heat up the city. Close enough that a quick walk has you back downtown and at the square.

I recently moved to Fort Worth and have been very busy checking out the sites. Seriously, there are so many!! The Water Gardens was at the top of my list, so I ventured out yesterday afternoon and walked from the Cultural District ~2 miles. Nice walk, although as usual, heavy traffic so be alert. There are other ways to get there other than walking, depending on where you’re coming from - either by car with parking available (not sure as to the cost), rent a bike from the city rideshare service- Bcycle (I will definitely be writing a review on this great resource soon), take a bus as the main station is a short block nearby or use an app-based car service like Uber or Lyft. In any case, I walked and felt comfortable doing so during the day (night time might be a different story??). Anyway, the Water Gardens did not disappoint! So beautiful and calming - a nice oasis in the middle of downtown. You can walk through and view the gardens, sit and have a picnic, reflect or climb among the many rocks. How much time you spend there is entirely up to you. The garden is well designed to hit many key senses such as sight, sound and touch. I loved the variety of each area, which pleasantly surprised me as I walked through. I will definitely be back!

This was on my list of "to do" in Ft Worth - it was a disappointment to be sure. The 2 main large areas had no water whatsoever in them!! The other displays were nice, but I was wondering what would be wrong to have water going and let people come down on a hot summer day and cool off? There were historic buildings in the area to photograph, and it was sad how deserted the streets were - people can still walk around in spite of the virus!!! There were 3 or 4 other groups of people wandering around in the water park, and I could tell they were disappointed as well. Only a couple homeless people, one lady tried to engage me, but no one really bothered me. Police presence was evident, bike officer was giving out parking tickets LOL. I asked him about a particulare building and he looked up the history of it on his phone for me, so I was appreciative of him going th extra mile.

It’s a nice place to walk around, sit awhile and enjoy the day. Kids can only take so much of it because they want to play in the water...that’s just natural for them. I guess there is times they turn the water on as it wasn’t on when we first got there. So while walking around it came on.

A must see and do! So cool, short walk from JFK memorial around the convention center. Go right (from JFK) and you’ll pass the Flatiron building and a couple old church’s.
Every city should have gardens like this. The effects on your senses are incredible! Would be great on a hot day! It was 45 and windy when we went and it was still so awesome!! We were the only ones in the park aside from employees!!! Great job keeping out the homeless!
If your able, walk down the active water pool! Selfie and video spot if there ever was one!!

A great area to relax and have lunch, but probably not for kids. For someone that is young, it may be boring. There were tons of people, and it may not be suitable in the heat since it's not designed to cool off, not it read very pretty!

Little pretty oasis in downtown Ft Worth. Is not an all day destination and is not for swimming. Pretty little park that you can see in an hour or less and maybe enjoy a picnic. Good spot for pictures

So it was raining during our visit, so no one else was there. It’s an interesting place to relax during time in Ft. Worth. It’s a neat design with areas or shade and to walk and climb as well.

Gorgeous man made waterfall with althe other man made pool great for familey picture or just a stroll with the familey

The FW Water Gardens are a confluence of 4 unique features: a mountain, a cascading waterfall in the round, a quiet pond, and a multitude of aerating fountains. It is free to walk around. Enhance your enjoyment by taking time to read the descriptive plaques located around the park to give yourself a better understanding of what you are seeing and experiencing.

We had SUCH a fun time at the Water Gardens. It really gets your heart beating when you walk on the suspended walkway over the flowing water! There are actually 3 fountains in that location. Also a pick up for the free Molly the Trolly is on both sides.

An engineering marvel. To be in the city and seemingly far away all at the same time. The waters are calming and soothing, great respite from work or the day's activities.

Pretty cool water garden. Worth checking out as you walk through town. I would not go far out of the way to see it but if you are close then check it out.

This was fun to look at, and might be more fun in warmer weather. A unique design feature but a lot of concrete. I wished there was a bit more greenery worked into the landscape.
Creative walkway to take it all in, sadly some lost there lives there but that has been fixed.
I’m sure I’m summer it’s a highlight yet with the concrete and sun it must get very hot.

Very nice area in downtown Fort Worth. Went on a Wednesday, not too busy. Clean well kept, safe area. Several different water gardens to view. The main garden has stepping stones to the bottom of the falls. A little intimating for the less adventurous as the the sound of the passing water gets louder the further you go while it rushes below your feet. I got quite a chuckle as some young couples quickly turned around and headed for the safety of higher ground. Be sure to check out the JFK exhibit nearby

Designed by renowned architect Phillip Johnson, this water garden allows the visitor to walk on raised steps among the various flows of water. It is a very relaxing visit to be among the sounds of flowing water in the midst of the city of Fort Worth. And, there is no fee!

Nice surprise and a leisurely stroll on a chilly January day. My wife and I were pointed toward this amazing art piece and was made especially nice to be the only people there that day! Beautiful Quite pool with amazing tree roots surrounding and of course, you MUST stroll down into the main water feature.

This place is at the southern end of the core downtown business district. I had visited it years ago when I lived in Fort Worth briefly, but I did not recall much about it. We were in the area and had 30 minutes before a nearby lunch appointment, so we stopped by.
We arrived around 11:30 a.m. on a Sunday. There were a lot of people around and it seemed safe at that time; I'm not sure what it is like in the evening, though.
We were able to find street parking about 2 blocks away. It was free at the time (I think the parking meter said that it was free on weekends and after 6 p.m., but you should double check that if you are using a metered space).
There are at least 2 entrances to the park at opposite corners. There appeared to be 3 different water features surrounding a small plaza in the middle. There were also stone-capped landscaping / walls surrounding the place.
The first and most popular feature is a sort of inverted ziggurat where the water flows down into the lowest point. There are block stairs (no railings) via which you can access the low point and look up at the terraces. We descended here and checked it out. It was interesting but can get crowded.
The next feature is a sunken pool surrounded by walls. You can descend a staircase and be at pool level. I think it is supposed to be a more serene setting.
The final feature is a slightly sunken pool with spray heads at intervals, creating a spray level about 3 feet above the pool, along with shifting rainbows if it is sunny out.
If you are in the area and have at least 30 minutes, this is worth seeing just for the novelty. Kids seemed to like it too, mostly for the opportunities for climbing on rocks or steps.

A very interesting water display. There are several sections although one is inactive during the winter months. The sound of the cascading water is very relaxing. The fountain display was also very nice.

Spent a few hours at the Water Gardens. I was there when I was younger and wanted to bring my husband there. I love it and it is so peaceful

A great place to stretch your legs, relax and take in an oasis in the heart of downtown Fort Worth. FREE

Was it neat to see yes. But I wouldn’t really go out of my way to see it. I could see where it could be relaxing but was crowded and fun about 10 mins.

My husband and I got married at the Water Gardens 18 years ago, and we try to go back every year around our anniversary to reminisce. It is such a unique location with amazing waterfalls and fountains. I do recommend visiting during the day since there are some “interesting” people that show up there after dark, but it is definitely a MUST SEE location in downtown Fort Worth.

Visited these water gardens on Christmas Eve 2018. There was not very many people about but this made the visit even better. It was quite quiet just the sound of trickling water. The water features were a delight to see, baying in different shapes and sizes.
Some were interactive and you could climb down among the feature via safe concrete stepping stones.
It was a chilly but lovely sunny day and as the sun caught the spray from the falls, pretty rainbows were forming all over the place. Well worth a visit.

Next to our hotel and convention centre. Wonderful design and very unique. A must-see place to visit when in Fort Worth. Good location for a picnic when the weather is suitable.

If you are in the downtown area, it is a must see. Especially during the summer, some steps can be slick.

The Water Gardens are a must for anyone visiting Fort Worth. It’s design will likely not remind you of anything else, because nothing else is like it. The Gardens are divided up into 3 distinct areas, and all except one are wheelchair accessible. Parts of the film “Logan’s Run” were filmed in the Gardens, so it’s also neat to see an actual filming location. It’s usually crowded on the weekends, but there’s still plenty of space to enjoy a picnic or take in the view.

A fun free family adventure in the Fort Worth Water Gardens and a great place to get a little wet if it's hot outside. Great photo opportunity.

I love to sit in the water gardens and relax on a sunny afternoon. It is always a good place to cool off on a hot day.

Fantastic water feature. Was in the last part of the movie "Logans Run". A must visit location at any time,

All water fountains were closed down. No signs posted. Very disappointed after paying to park and walking in the 94 degree heat to find it empty.

The Water Garden is located next to the Fort Worth Convention Center, and parking is a bit challenging. I found street parking on Lancaster. The gardens were across the street. Being in the quiet garden is calming. You wouldn't know there's a major street outside.

I can’t believe u can walk on the little steps down into this. It would be very easy to fall in. But the kids insisted and dad took them down.
I wouldn’t go after dark. The crowd was a little interesting.

I would visit this place late afternoon/evening. Not too late at night because I went at nigh and it was quite dark to walk in one of the fountains as it is not well lit. However, looking at the water gardens at night we’re beautiful! Especially the one that looks like a swimming pool surrounded by the trees. It was tranquil!

Although not all the water was in use at the time of our visit, it was still a very serene and peaceful place with a minimum number of visitors in attendance. Different angles for pictures were plentiful during a beautiful day. The Mountain and the Quiet Pool were also worth spending time to enjoy the views and serenity.

No water in the main fountain, and absent that, it's a large concrete pit that at least you can walk down into, but.... The quiet pool would be restful, though a wedding occupied that. The third area did have water. Some 'mountains' to climb and it is a good place for photo ops. Overall though it kind of emphasizes the arid (perhaps lunar) nature of town center and hard by a blank convention center and railyard, this isn't (or wasn't, without people at play anyway) a destination per se. Still, as an example of brutalism - it is worth seeing.

Nothing saying the Water Garden was closed. We drove downtown to see the Water Garden and there was no water and no site to see.

Very unique garden. I love anything involving water and this is just relaxing. Three different “pool” areas. I did not climb down in the main water garden but enjoyed just sitting and taking it all in.

A fun place to spend time experiencing the water, the architecture, and the great use of the space. I have been here a number of times over the years really enjoy it!

We had a little bit of time so we stopped here. I am so glad we did. It was very relaxing and tranquil. It was a nice walk through a park. It wasn't busy and I felt safe in the area.

I have seen few water features anywhere that are so unique, and well worth a look and spending some time to contemplate. Late afternoon is particularly pleasant. Makes a nice break from the Sundance Square downtown area, which is about a 15 minute walk away.

First of all its free so thats good. My 5 yo loved going down into the water falls. My only complaint was we had to park a few blocks away and walk- This part of town is full of homeless people on the streets.

It's so peaceful here. You could spend several hours here at the water gardens. Great place to relax and unwind.

My husband and I enjoyed walking aroundz the Water Gardens in the peaceful atmosphere. The architectural design was very appealing. We enjoy walking down to the base and taking pictures of the flowing water. We came back after dark for a Moonlight stroll but decided not to go to the bottom because there was no lighting on the steps. Overall this is a very pretty place and would come back to visit again.

Stopped here after viewing the eclipse a Samuel farm in Mesquite. This is cool and nice white noise. Three different water features and seating plus a big climbing wall

Really great public park in town. We were really happy we checked it out. Agree with another review, you will probably spend more time than originally thought here. It's spacious, airy, open, calming. There are 3 distinct water installations here, each pretty in its own right. One was a calm pool where we saw a couple sitting and a family taking pictures. Another was a bunch of sprinklers shooting water up which made the water look like flowers where we saw rainbows. And the largest was a pit with water rushing down from every angle that you could walk down to. We parked on a side street In a meter spot several blocks away. Definitely do not miss.

Enjoyable couple of hours with our family. Brought the grandkids down for a look, it is always a beautiful place to come.

Stopped with teenagers and dog while in the area. Definitely add this to your to do list when visiting. The water gardens has 3 different water pools to see. The Active pool has the stairs where you can climb down and be in the center of a waterfall. Kids loved climbing down the steps. The next one was all fountains- they give off a small mist. Make sure you walk around the pool and look for rainbows! The third I would love to see when the Cyprus trees have leaves- it’s the quite pool. You have to walk down the stairs and it’s like an oasis. We really enjoyed our stop- would be great place to have a picnic lunch.

If you've never been to the Water Gardens you're in for a real treat it is a true treasure in gym in Fort Worth it was a gift to the city and it has just unbelievably all inspiring I highly recommend this attraction and being free how can you beat the price

Loved this! If we weren’t short on time it is a wonderful place to sit and relax and enjoy the different gardens. Amazing and right in the middle of everything.

I had some time on my hands before being picked up for my flight home and found this a very pleasant way to kill an hour or so. I never saw any fountains and one area had no water at all, but what is there is well designed, photogenic and tranquil to just sit and relax.
You can easily walk there from the centre and you will likely pass the JFK tribute as you head to the gardens, giving another nice stop off point on your walk.

Very unique. Enjoyed the calm and serenity. Very cool. You can actually walk to the bottom of the steps on the big water feature.

A must see! A great peaceful park in the middle of the city. Very neat to walk down the water gardens and take a pic. Glad we went here

A friend brought me here after dining nearby that was recommended. The beauty of this place is definitely something to see and admire. We stood around watching the water fall that was peaceful and calming. Its definitely a place I would recommend to stroll with your date or the little ones or with grand parents/parents so they may admire as well.

The 4.3 acre Water Gardens were designed by noted New York architects Philip Johnson and John Burgee in 1974. This is a very attractive and peaceful place in downtown Fort Worth. It is within a walking distance to the commuter train station.

Downtown Fort Worth is not a hectic city but nonetheless it is always welcome, especially in hot weather, to find a place with cool running water. The pool is surrounded by granite walls with water cascading down, cooling and relaxing. A beautiful design.

If you are a fan of classic post-apocalyptic movies, you will recognize the big fountain right away. It is definitely a unique feature for a city of this size. Check out this free sight when in the area. This is not a child’s water play place. There are no handrails or safety features to help when going down into the big fountain or to help get up on the rocks for the high vantage point views. As long as you are aware of these small things, you will enjoy yourself. There is a quiet fountain area that is peaceful and calming and another fountain that has very loud rushing water sounds. The overall experience engages multiple senses.

This was like no other feature I'd seen in a city! Very beautiful and worth the trip into town. We were there in early November and the Japanese maples planted near the Asian pool were really spectacular golden.

I hadn’t been to these fountains in a long time. Glad I dropped by. Very unique fountain set up, photo ops, fun people watching.

My husband and I were staying at the Omni Hotel across the street and walked over to see what the water gardens were all about. We enjoyed strolling through the gardens but I was disappointed that the lower pools were not accessible to anyone in a wheelchair. I sometimes have issues with mobility thanks to rheumatoid arthritis but I didn't struggle this time. I would have given a higher rating except that the accessibility is a significant issue to me.

We have gone many times, so that family that visit us sees it. It takes about 20 minutes to see it all and walk it. Its a must see attraction in Fort Worth, but not one of the best (Short attraction). Definitely great pictures to be taken with the family. After that head to the “Sundance Square” a few blocks North!

The area is beautiful, unique, and serene, it is directly across the street from the Downtown Sheraton. Easy walk and provided some much-needed peace away from a busy conference. The area is clean however, there is currently a lot of construction in the area.

A pleasant visit as break from a convention. There is a real history surrounding this area of downtown Ft. Worth. Very interesting fact concerning 'Hell half acre'

This hidden gem is good for visit thru entire year. This time I had a chance to visit it during a fall season and it was amazing! Colors, sound of water and tranquility of this place is perfect place for rest during a day. Tip - avoid coming during a lunch time as many people from local businesses come over here on their lunch break. You can find this place easy - it is a few minutes from TRE terminal and a local bus terminal; it is right next to Omni hotel and downtown Sheraton hotel, and behind FW Convention center. Admission is free of charge to the Water gardens.

I debated the Stars. The main pool is worth the visit for sure. To walk to the bottom is adrenaline pumping. The mountain is cool if you read the concept on the plaques. But.. the quiet pool was really nothing and the aerated pool was half broke. Only about 1/3 of the sprinklers worked. We enjoyed the main pool so much I would highly suggest it and it’s free !

My family and I visited the Fort Worth Water Gardens on a Friday morning around 9:30. I would recommend getting here early because there are less people and it is not as hot. The Water Gardens are a FREE attraction to visit in downtown Fort Worth. The Water Gardens are so pretty and well preserved. The area was clean and I saw security monitoring the area while we were there.
There are three pools of water at the gardens. The architecture is beautiful and so relaxing to view. I would recommend this beautiful park to anyone in the Fort Worth area.

Western heritage roams freely in Fort Worth, where cattle drives occur twice a day in the Stockyards National Historic District. Enjoy diverse restaurants, exciting nightlife, cultural institutions and sporting events. Entertaining kids is a snap in the “City of Cowboys and Culture,” courtesy of Six Flags Over Texas, the Fort Worth Zoo or the Noble Planetarium and Museum of Science and History. You can depend on friendly and helpful service - the hallmark of true Texas hospitality.

I love visiting the water garden. It was so beautiful and peaceful. I visited with friends, I can’t wait to bring my kids to come see.

My wife and I loved the Water Garden. It is an absolutely beautiful and creative place with several stunning water features to see. We walked around and climbed on stuff for a good hour or more enjoying all the creative beauty in this man made water garden.

We visited on a Wednesday morning around 8:00. We had one grandparent, two parents, and five children whose ages ranged from 2 to 12. The water features were beautiful and peaceful. The kids loved walking down into the basin. We didn’t stay long, maybe 30 minutes. There were a couple of homeless looking visitors but they smiled politely and did not ask for anything or bother us in any way. It felt safe and relaxing. We were worried that our smaller, more active boys would try to climb in the water features, but they were sufficiently entertained without getting wet.

This is a beautiful park! The fountains are wonderful and relaxing. This is a great, free attraction for the whole family!!!

This was about 3 weeks after the big freeze so that might be why, but there wasn't really any water. The features were cool and I can see how it would be awesome sometimes, but really other than climb "the mountain" there wasn't much to see. Ended up spending 15 minutes and then walking around to look for something else to do.

My wife and I stumbled upon this place as we were looking for a restaurant one night. It is incredibly peaceful in here and a great place to just sit and clear your head. I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to see it, but if you're in the area, it is worth stopping in.

I found it to be very relaxing and nice, it was very peacful and easy to get to as an easy thing to do.

I was in a cowtown on December 1st at 7 am. Most of the sightseeing spots were closed. However, this garden was open at 7 am! I walked there. It was a cold day. When I arrived there. I saw a few people walking. I walked around the park. The water park was so beautiful and well-designed. I was thinking about going down to the pentagon-shaped bottom. However, I was afraid of "drown". LOL. Anyway, beautiful park!

We visited Fort Worth, very special city, unique traditions, enjoyed a lot.
Then, we decided to visit down town, really good, nice roads, well constructed building etc.
Visited Water Falls & enjoyed a lot!
Worth visiting

It was ok but not spectacular. Wasn’t really a lot to see. Many of the fountains weren’t working when we were there. Lots of construction in the area, too.

The Water Gardens had many stone steps and trees which offered great views of the Fort Worth skyscrapers. This location could be found in the Downtown area. There was metered street parking, but it was free to park on the weekends. I really enjoyed looking at the multiple fountains, and I could tell that a lot of work was put into the design of this park. It was free to enter this park, and I felt safe in this park.

We had a couple hours during our visit, so we thought we’d check this out. It is an amazing architectural site including water features. Once we figured out where to park, we enjoyed reading about the designs. Wear shoes that don’t get slick when they are wet and be very careful if you have little ones on the feature with flowing water. It’s a really neat place in the heart of Fort Worth.

A nice GEM in the city of Fort Worth! I would like to see in the Summer, when trees are all leafed out, and flowers are blooming.

This is definitely an oasis in the middle of a city! A beautiful place to relax, contemplate, let time go by in a peaceful enviroment! All cities should have a place like that in their downtown areas.

Lots of picture opportunities. Several in our group were able to journey to the bottom level and pose for pictures

I recommend going on a weekday if possible, a sunny warm day, and letting the water running down the walls surrounding the Quiet Pool run over your hands to cool you. Its a lovely place to just sit and have a relaxing moment of peace, especially if there is no one else around. Then head over the the other, louder pool of water, and walk the steps down so that you are surrounded by an onrush of water from each side. I found the whole experience quite refreshing.

Very soothing place.
It is good to hang out specially during summer days.
Unique experience or type of garden.

We visited the park on the Cowtown Segway Tour and it was fantastic. It is very peaceful and pretty - the city of Fort Worth has done a nice job.
It is worth a visit to either pass through or spend time relaxing.

Too many other people decided today’s perfect weather was good for a zoo day, so we bailed on that plan and instead went to the Water Gardens! It was quite lovely. Walk, talk, sit, stare at water, people watch. Only downside is parking. Otherwise very enjoyable outing.

Beautiful water sculptures and pool. Allows for climbing and photo taking. Visited today. Crowded with graduates. Also had a couple people experiencing homelessness there requesting monetary assistance.
Still a clean place and good photo ops. Signs say not climbing the mountain wall, but people still did. Found free parking, easily.

You progressively step down some stairs into the center of a man-made waterfall. It's really cool when you hit the bottom because you hear water all around you. Very refreshing.

Kind of odd - honestly. If you're walking around and close, take a stroll through. The layout is unique but not so unique you need to make a special trip.

This was an unexpected sight to see while downtown Fort Worth. I had no idea that it was down here so when I walk past I was very surprised. Very cool fountain and something to explore!

Very enjoyable place to visit! Best to see just before sunset so you can see it while it is still daylight and then be there after dark to see it lit up. Very pretty. There are 3 different water attractions. Be sure to visit all 3.

A unique artistically designed garden, that provides a lot of calm entertainment for the adults and lots of fun and play activities for the young ones. Addition of more all season floral plants in the flowerbeds will add to the beauty of this place.

This place is well maintained and the fountains are beautiful. It's a great place to relax and meditate. I would definitely visit again.
Incredible architecture
I have never seen any type of architecture like this before. It was amazing to see how the designer of this garden used cement with water to create some amazing "art".
