1 of 78 Best Attractions in Grand Canyon National Park

This is clearly the Top 5 must-see attractions in the USA. The awe inspiring breadth, sheer walls of the canyon and multi colored rock formations is truly a sight to behold. We arrived on a Tuesday morning in mid October and the place is still packed. The crowds were Disneyland level and kids everywhere. We did the 2.5mile rim trail walk to the Village and I worked up a massive appetite. After eating at Harvey’s Cafe, we simply took the free shuttle bus back to our car. Be sure to visit Desert View Watchtower, just a few miles east of the Visitors Center.

The Grand Canyon is a place that photos do no justice to. Incredible views. A few things to watch for while visiting:
1. You will encounter wildlife when visiting. The deer/elk are very accustomed to people and freely walk among their human partners.
2. You are 7000 feet above sea level. You may have breathing difficulty while there, especially if you walk the trails down into the canyon.
3. The weather changes very quickly there.
4. Go to different view points while there. Don't just stay near the village. You can look for hours into the canyon and not be bored.
5. Make reservations early if you wish to eat at any of the restaurants.
6. The National Park personnel are very knowledgeable and helpful and a great resource for any questions you have.
A very enjoyable trip that was on my bucket list. Worth the trip to see in person.

Pictures cannot even begin to convey the awe you will feel when visiting this beautiful location! On a couples business trip, we decided to stop by and were in complete awe!
Also when visiting, be amazing and “adopt” a mountain lion for $30 to help continue to support this beautiful wonder of nature and its wildlife!

Whatever time you go, you will be amazed at this natural picture. It's grand, wonderful, changing with the times.
Do if you can the helicopter shot, spend the evening seeing the sun draw colors on the rock.
A magical moment

Got canyon bus tour from Las Vegas. Got to the south Rim after a stop for lunch…the scenery was amazing to say the least. It was a long day but well worth it…had a stop on Route 66 for dinner on the way back too

Even though the Trip is long from.Vegas ,it was entertaining and informative throughout because of our tour guide Prince

This is the side where you find the most iconic places from Grand Canyon. The views are stunning.
I suggest to use the shuttle buses that the place offers, as it takes you also to the place that is not accessible by car.
My personal recommendation would be to start in Yavapai Geology Museum so that you learn something about this magnificent place before going to see it.

Incredible views. Plenty of different spots to get a good photo. Lots of people!!!! It gets very hot and there’s not much shade/ places to sit, but it’s ok because once you’ve gotten your photos there’s not much else to do.

38 years since we last came - and it is still magnificent and the great thing is the shuttle which allows you to walk so much further and get the bus back! We stayed in the campground near the marketplace and the scenery just gets better and better. Mather Point is delightful but going all the way along the trail tracking time from 1 year intervals to millions to Hermit’s Rest is outstanding. I was worried it would be crowded - it wasn’t! The bus back from the Village to the. Campground seemed to have a huge huge queue and then they introduced a few extra buses - the express one taking us direct to our area was heaven sent and the crowds just disappeared. Well managed and lovely to see so much of this incredible natural phenomenon was amazing. Thank you

Absolutely amazing views of the canyon! There is now many facilities, restaurants, shopping that i don't remember from 40 years ago, but the views are still the best of the canyon from here. Pictures just can't show you what you see in person.

So beautiful. You can look for hours. I do recommend going at different times of days. The views change dramatically. Sun set is amazing.

We loved it!! Would recommend anyone who really wants to experience the Grand Canyon, to plan to stay a few days and hike part of it. We just stopped at the different view points, and viewed. So next time I want it to be a multi-day adventure.
They also have plenty of bathrooms about and shops too. Even a gas station. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I had high hopes before seeing the Grand Canyon like most people and was more impressed than I had dreamed. Although the south rim is the most developed area of Grand Canyon National Park, the amenities offered (bus service, paved trails, restrooms, water stations etc. allow seniors and people with physical disabilities to also enjoy the magnificent scenery are no words to describe how unbelievable the South Viewing the incredible art work formed by nature left me in awe and d an experience that I will never forget.

In summer it can get very hot. Don't underestimate the South Rim. Although the hike is very easy, it is still over 20 miles which nan takes under his feet. At >35 degrees it is important to take enough water with you. In addition, there are no possibilities to buy water on the whole route. But the view is colossal and you can hardly get enough of yourself. Those who are tired can always wait for a Red Line bus
Ambience: indescribably beautiful
Price Performance: the bus is free
to recommend: a must

Pictures do not do its size justice. I just had no idea the scale until seeing the Grand Canyon in person. Absolutely worth coming all the way from the East coast to experience it's beauty!

I mean... it's the Grand Canyon, it's one of the most amazing things you'll ever see. Everyone who will treat it respectfully should go.

Beautiful and magical - whats not to love? Its the GRAND CANYON! Wish we had more than one day in this park but we saw as much as we could. The sheer size of the canyon does nothing until you are there IN person.

It’s big. It is a canyon. But what is beautiful, well organized, with lots of sights to see and things to learn. Ultra touristic (with what it can carry bad), but rightly so.

The south rim of the Grand Canyon is an experience which should not be missed. The three movies in the theater are well worth the time taken to watch them before venturing out into the park. We particularly appreciated the quality and content of the 24 minute "We Are Grand Canyon" film. The connection exhibited by the 11 tribal communities which have called the Grand Canyon home for thousands of years is inspirational.
There is so much to see in the park, a day trip is just a tease. We only planned on one day but will be back for several more days to take it all in, as if that is possible. I will have to go during seasons when no insects are present to avoid getting a mouthful because I wandered about, mouth agape, for much of our visit. So amazing.

Tour with Grand Canyon destinations (not to be confused with others with similar name)
We were picked up exactly as planned and the tour was really informative our guide/driver was spot on keeping everyone amused and informed and together.Timekeeping was good.
Kevin the driver was really chatty and everyone I spoke to said they felt really valued and looked after by him.
The grand canyon was incredible.
Tour date 17th March 2023

I guess it depends what you are in to. There is no doubt that the Grand Canyon is a stupendous sight and worth seeing.
However, from our point of view we did not enjoy what is offered as the only option to experience a natural phenomenon - sit in a stinking traffic jam for over an hour to pay to park in a mega-lot and then cram with hundreds of other people next to a railing while everyone takes photos and videos of hundreds of tourists and bits of the Grand Canyon in the background. Buses, Visitor Centres, hire bikes, helicopters, it's just so hyper-commercialised. Horrible, it should be free, there should be hundreds of access points, maybe some with all the stuff above, but others where you can just enjoy the wilderness. There are some amazing hiking options that allow you to get away from the crowds which we enjoyed, but ultimately everything still channels through the impossibly slow-moving money-making machine at the gates.
For sure visit, but temper your expectations.

This is by far one of the most amazing views I have ever experienced. The size of the canyon is just phenomenal, and these are the postcard images you see - this is a must visit.

It was a nice trip with breathtaking views and very beautiful walks in the middle of nature then also not shuttle for those who do not want to walk very recommended for a family day

Definitely worth going to for a visit..The Canyons are amazing..but we visited several restaurants both their fine dining, fast food, and their Starbucks and whoever has their food contract is doing a horrible job. Each place has the worst food ever and we had to go out of the Canyon the last night to get a decent meal. Their grocery store is limited and very expensive. And although most of the employees were very nice we did encounter a few who were obviously not happy to be there. One cranky store manager… and one nasty troll of a guy at the entrance gate who should not be dealing with the public. We stayed at the campground which was nice because we were inside the park but it could have used a little more cleaning and maintenance. I think the issues we encountered are typical of a National Park so go expecting these issues. The Canyons and their natural beauty makes up for the short comings. If you are in an RV plan on eating in as much as possible.

Photo adventure for sunrises and sunsets at various locations around the south rim. Awesome locations.

The Grand Canyon is an amazing site to see. Our tour guide was friendly and gave us lots of information, not only about the Grand Canyon, but about different places and sights along the way. She offered to take pictures of us and ensured we were comfortable along the way.
We were changed from the big bus to the shuttle van, which was good, as our group was about 13 people.
We were given waters, snacks, a sandwich for lunch and had the option of having a supper meal at the stop in Boulder City on the way home.
The trip from Vegas is a very long one. It might be a good idea to take a neck pillow along. The supper was very tasty but where we sat could have been a little nicer.
Overall, a great trip! If I was to go again, I'd use this company again; however I'd go to a part of the Canyon that was a shorter distance from Vegas.

Yes it’s an amazing view. View same after awhile. But the park itself lacks. We made sure go on weekday and early to beat the crowds and get though gate quickly. I couldn’t even imagine crowds in summer. Bathrooms need attention. I clicked it off my bucket list but not in hurry go back. I did so many other amazing things on my trip to Arizona , and Grand Canyon was at bottom.

No picture ever will do justice to what you see when you look at the Grand Canyon. We took the Rocky Mountain railroad from Arizona into the train station at the Canyon and were picked up by a Ranger for a tour. Water is available for free and you can also purchase it. My only advice would be to go during the cooler month, bc there is no shade, none, nada, zip!

Shannon was a wonderful tour guides and really entertaining. This trip was so beautiful I literally cried when I first saw the grand canyon. And I'll probably cry again when I go back. It was truly like nothing I've ever seen on this earth and there probably isn't much else on this earth that holds a candle to it.

I finally made it to the Grand Canyon and loved the hikes! We walked around the rim and went down Bright Angel trail. We stayed at one of the hotels on the South Rim, which made it easy to get sunrise pictures.

We spent an over night at the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The views are spectacular. Every overlook had a completely different view. Watching thunderstorms in the distance was awe inspiring. Definitely take the time while you are here.

Fantastic views, the experience just improves with time and the innovations the park service provides. I learn more with every visit, a great starter is the film documentary before parking to enjoy the rim rides.

Beautiful Canyon Views, lots of hiking, and lots of services. There's a whole town here, so there are places to sleep and eat and shop. The Visitor's Center is in multiple buildings depending on whether you want to shop, learn, get advice, or use the restroom (I recommend checking the placards outside the Center to see if your question can be answered without standing in line---they have a lot of info outside the building). There is a shuttle service around the Village so that you can park once and not worry about it again.
It's a beautiful canyon with lots of viewpoints, but you will definitely not be here alone. It's a crowded place with people having varying levels of National Park savvy, so you may have to wait patiently for your ideal Grand Canyon viewpoint.
I recommend traveling into the canyon or to some of the more distant viewpoints to escape the crowd. Get away from the main parking spots and hike the rim trail to get a different experience.

The Grand Canyon was as beautiful and majestic as I had imagined. The South Rim is well organized and in April it was not crowded at all.

This was my 4th visit to the South Rim. The colors and the beauty never get old! You need to experience the BIGNESS of this place for yourself.

Spent several days here and this was the centre piece of my holiday - I was travelling solo as none of my weird and apparently uncultured family wanted to see the Grand Canyon. I'd always wanted to see the GC and Monument Valley and this was the holiday to make that happen.
After researching online I spent the extra and stayed in the park, although most places were booked by the time I started organising my trip. It really made a difference especially after long exhausting days.
There's a lot to see around the Grand Canyon, from going down the hiking trail, to walking along the rim or catching the buses up and down the view points. Sunset was nice but I didn't get to one of the recommended spots - I was simply exhausted from all the walking. I came in from the South and exited through the East. Getting into the Park was easy and quick. I found a park with no time limits in a bit of luck, it was near my first hotel I was staying at.
A couple of things - footwear and water. Your shoes need to be comfortable, suitable and not new - do not wear new shoes to break them in, it will kill your feet. You're going to be doing a lot of walking. Carry a lot of water. I started each day with a cold flask and refilled from water bottles and would generally go through at least 3-4 water bottles each day and more when I got back to my room. You do not want to risk dehydration.
There's simply too much to see and do to cover it in a review. You can see all the photos on TA and online but they don't do the real thing justice. It is glorious and I could've spent more time there. The park is really well set up and operated, I'm not getting where many of the 1 star reviews are coming from because nothing about them reflects my experience.
Go and see it, so worthwhile. One of the best places I've seen and very memorable.

The visit was great as was the view into the canyon from various points.
Parking is limited, so be there early or stay overnight on site.
Various hiking trails available. Often not yet suitable for young children. Unfortunately, some trails were closed to visit.
The use of the bus system is recommended. The bus stops at various points from which you can look into the canyon. The entire route can also be walked.
Restaurant available.

We admired the Grand Canyon starting from the Desert View Watchtower, an observation tower located on the South Rim. Spectacular from start to finish...once again nature has amazed and amazed us.

It's an amazing place to visit; you will need days to do it justice. Some parts can only be visited by foot. Most can be accessed using either your car or the free buses. If you use the buses, then access is easy and not strenuous. We saw plenty of people with wheelchairs. With the right pass, you can drive on the bus-only routes.

The 40 minute flight took us over the entire canyon in a Cessna Caravan. The pilot had 40 years of experience including 20 in the Canyon. He gave us great commentary and the flight was breathtaking. Less expensive and better value than a helicopter.

Despite winter weather conditions (snow, freezing rain, wind) the Canyon is always beautiful. Visibility wasn't great, but what one could see was truly spectacular. The downside to the visit were the absolutely filthy restrooms - beyond the pale disgusting. (I've been in cleaner port-a-johns at horse shows.)
Unfortunately that is the last thing I expected at one of the US most treasured landmarks, and will end up being the most vivid memory of the visit - not the grandeur of the Grand Canyon, but the squalor condition of the public restrooms.

We can only marvel at such a magnificent spectacle! The Grand Canyon is one of the wonders of the world worth the trip. we walked about 12 km on Lacrete from the west side and it is really worth it, great and fabulous scenery, we can only appreciate. Not very crowded at least in April, extremely well organized shuttles that allow to arrive by bus on remote places or vehicles are not allowed to go. Everything is done to facilitate travel because there is some distance between the different viewpoints. It's imperative.

Love this place. Feel scared a bit at the first look but it’s a beautiful scenic view, worthy to visit. The pictures doesn’t show the actual feel as it’s must visit at least once in a life time.

Visited the Grand Canyon South Rim on a beautiful September day. Whole day spent walking the various paths and panoramic points. In the late afternoon, at sunset, a very short 3-minute thunderstorm gave an extraordinary rainbow and made this authentic wonder of Nature even more evocative.

We have always wanted to visit the Grand Canyon and this was our opportunity. We planned two and a half days for the visit which was perfect. We visited the week prior to Memorial Day weekend and felt like the crowds weren't bad. The best tip we got was from the hotel clerk telling us to check the South Rim webcam prior to heading to the park. You can see how long the line is at the entrance. We entered at 2:30 our first day and there wasn't anyone in line. Since we have a Senior Parks Pass, we used our time to check out the Visitor Center and get our bearings.
We arrived at the park at 9:00 on the second day and rode the blue shuttle (Shuttles are free) to the popular red shuttle pick up spot. A quick note about the blue shuttle. It serves a number of camping sites and is useful for those staying onsite or looking for food or refreshments. It isn't a scenic ride, but is a way to get to the red line.
The red shuttle is an 80 minute round trip if you don't get on and off, with 9 stops going out, and four on the return. You don't see a lot of the view from the shuttle, but the best views areon the passenger side (right side as you face the front of the bus). Better views are seen as you exit the bus and walk to the guardrails. Note: some passengers with disabilities commented that this was more difficult than they expected. Most walks to the rim are paved, but some are on uneven ground and have a couple of steps. Busses stop every 10-15 minutes to pick up passengers, and there are several "two way" stops that you can catch a bus in either direction. The rim walks were just a little too close to the rim for our comfort, so I can't comment on difficulty or upkeep.
Or second full day we decided to take the Desert View Drive. It is 22 miles long with quite a few pull outs to take photos, and some fabulous View Points with parking lots. My personal favorite is Lipan Point where we had the most beautiful views and photos. We enjoyed the Tusayan Ruin (Museum was closed) and would skip the Desert View Watchtower if we had it to do again. Feels very touristy. We spent half a day on the Desert View Drive.

I went at the end of February, out of season. I definitely recommend going at this time of year! A local told me, "This is the best time. There aren't many tourists, so you can take your time looking around."
I went on a bus tour, and the guide said that in the summer season, there are so many tourists that the participants are not able to go to all the spots they had planned to visit, and they are very dissatisfied (the roads are narrow, so it's what happens when you come all the way and can't see anything).
The view was spectacular. There were not many tourists, so I was able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. I can see why people say it's something you should see at least once in your life.

Hi we went there for a visit.the first thing is get an annual pass when you get there. We initially were told to buy a pass for each of us totalling $80 for 4 people. If you arrive at the gate you can buy an annual pass for all parks in the US costing $80 which last a year so we were misled when booking originally.
The canyon is fantastic, the best for us was the red bus to the end hermits rest. We got off at Mohave and walked back, you are right on the edge in places the views are great the path is genera well kept a must do walk. It was about 3 to 4 miles. There was even some wildlife the horned sheep.
You can go down into the canyon however I was told it is arduous. We saw the path and there are a lot of switchbacks. We drove into the park from Cameron and from tusayam there was plenty of parking.
Generally the food outlets are expensive and poor so if possible take food, water and have the car fuelled prior to entering the park.

Amazing views from the South Rim. Every place we went to was not crowded. Not sure if it is busier in the warmer months. Great time exploring this area.

This is a national park, only about 4:00 a.m. from Las Vegas, many confuse it with that of the indigenous tribe nearby.
We chose to stay in the city of Williams AZ very nice city that has the climate of the route66 being at 1:00 from the national park.
Arriving at Grand Canyon National park, suggestion to go to the visitor center, local with bathrooms and souvenir shop.
The park has several areas of easy access for stops and observation of the viewers runs in the photos

Layla was our tour guide and Lupe was our driver for this tour. Layla was a wealth of knowledge and very personable. We really enjoyed her Italian accent and friendly manner. The breakfast, lunch and dinner location used were really lacking. I believe it was connected to The Best Western hotel. The lunch and dinner were terrible. They may want to consider using a different venue. The bathrooms were also less than par at this venue with the only existing sink being clogged and many flies in the ladies room. But back to the tour……we really learned a lot and would highly recommend this tour and Layla as your guide.

Completely awesome experience. Nature at its most spectacular.
The view the animals all wonderful.
Take some binoculars.

You would think by the seventh time, you'd be bored. Nope. It's still the same. The moment you catch your first sight of the canyon, you are awestruck. "Wow", you say to yourself, "This is amazing." Yes, it is. Even more so in the winter. The light sprinkling of snow definitely adds something to the mix making the scenery even more majestic. There are so many incredible sights in the world and I have by no means seen them all, but whenever you experience it you think maybe this really is the best. Whether it is or not, it's certainly worthy of being on your bucket list. Add the magnificent red rocks of Sedona and you could have a very short and stunning trip. Add a few more days and you can see Zion and Bryce Canyon for a mind-boggling trip. Add another week and you can drive America's most beautiful road, Route 10 and go to Grand Teton and Yellowstone for the trip of a lifetime.
This was a frustratingly short stay.. Instead of leaving at 7AM, we got out at 11:30. We stopped for lunch and took longer than we should have and somehow we didn't get to the Visitor's Center until 3PM. With a bathroom break, a stop to look in the VC and ask a couple of questions, a super-quickie stop at the Bookstore to pick up the obligatory magnet, we didn't get to the rim until 3{30PM. After a very short walk, my wife realized that she either left the map we got at the gate or she lost it. So we go back and she goes to the car and lo and behold it's right there on the seat. I decide that I better run to the VC right before they close to pick up a couple more maps just in case. It's now after 4PM and we have seen almost nothing. We get started again and see another couple of quick lookouts. Then we dice to visit the El Tovar hotel to see if we can get a last minute deal, which was a dubious proposition with Xantera still

Proud to be an official resident of the Grand Canyon! There is no bad view! Everywhere you look it is breathtaking to behold this natural wonder! Definitely worth planning a trip to the Grand Canyon! The south rim is extremely well maintained with natural trails accessible for everyone to enjoy!

The south rim has so much to offer. Fall and spring are less crowded and the temperatures are comfortable for any activity. Book early if you plan on staying in the park. You can sometimes find rooms due to cancellations a week or two before. The experience is definitely worth it as you are right on the canyon rim. Dining at El Tovar is a must! It is one of the grand lodges of the National parks. Reservations are required and can be made online 30 days prior to your visit.
Take the free shuttle along the rim with many stops for scenic overlooks. There are trails to hike this rout also. Cars are not allowed along this route.

What can I possibly add about one of the seven natural wonders of the world. It’s surreal! We only had 3 hours to spend and enjoyed every minute. Looking forward to returning for an overnight stay and more time to hike around the south rim! Amazing place.

Incredible views and great rim trail walk. Anyone of reasonable fitness can walk the Rim trail to Hermits Rest.
The Canyon never ceases to disappoint.

Awesome trip. Breath-taking views. Pure natural at its best. Went as a group of seven and absolutely enjoyed the entire time (spend the extra money for the lunch. You won't regret it). Full day trip well broken down. Special shout out to our Gray Line tour guide Chris. Super informative and personality for days. He really put the exclamation mark on a bold statement of a trip. 10 out 10, definitely recommend!

If you don't have loads of time and you are in the Southern area, I would strongly recommend the Yavapai viewpoint. There is also a little museum there. It is a fairly quick and easy walk from Yavapai viewpoint to Martha point. Lots of good photo ops on the walk.
There are points where you can sit on the edge of the canyon. If you have a fear heights you can still get a good photo by finding cliff edge that still has rock and tree layers under it and then take the photo from behind. If you do want to sit on a proper edge, sit down a few feet away and shuffle to the edge. Use the same method getting up - shuffle back and then stand up.
Views are especially stunning at sunrise or sunset. If you want to see elk, we saw the most in the morning.

We were new to Caravan. The trip was fantastic. The beauty of all the places we visited is indescribable. We were taken care of by our wonderful tour guide, Dick Strassel. He took care of all the reservations, luggage and information for us. The bus was comfortable and our rooms were great. Elk were in great abundance in The Grand Canyon park. The most spectacular trip. Meeting so many fellow travelers from all around the country was lots of fun. We even hung out at the pool and hot tub after a fun fun day in Zion. Bryce Canyon was amazing and my favorite was the jeep ride through Monument Valley. I’ve never seen such beauty. All in all a fantastic trip. Looking forward to our next trip with Caravan. We are hooked!!!

Our journey to the south rim was our stop after a couple of days in Sedona. We travelled North and made sure we had a full tank of gas before heading that way as we had heard the gas stations were few and more expensive. Glad we did.
We reached the gate around 11am and there was about a 20 min wait. Highly recommend the America The Beautiful Pass which we used many times on our 2 week journey. The cost without the pas $35 a car.
Our room was booked at the Maswik Lodge so we looped direct there as we tried to pull into a couple of lookouts on the entry side and could not find any parking. I was pleasantly surprised of the distance between items and the nature around was nice. Note many roads are one way so you have to loop to get to the different places.
On our last day we found the Market area which we wish we had found sooner. It is a grocery, gift shop and deli. Gift shop prices the best in park and had many bundle shirt options that were great prices. The grocery area had pre-made sandwiches, cheese sticks, juices for grab and go. They were pretty fresh as you could tell they stocked them often. Second half of our group got a hot sandwich from deli which was delicious. Was able to fill our travel mugs with ice water at soda fountain as our hotel did not have the ice machines on to save water. Also picnic tables on front and side to eat there and bathrooms on side of building. Note there is recycle bins here and all thru the park, even in the bathroom. Hope you will use them as we do.
My Tractor man loved the craft beer selections and the ability to build his six pack with local brews.

Pictures do NOT do the Grand Canyon justice!! I loved the suspense of driving and not being able to see anything until you walked to the lookout point. It was so neat seeing just how huge the Ravens actually are. Speaking of wildlife, the squirrels are so adorable and they are not scared of people! I ate my granola bar and shoved the wrapper in my backpack side pocket... next thing I know, there is a squirrel grabbing onto my backpack!!! There were a few times I would get a little anxious with tourists getting too close to the edge, so I think next time we will try the North Rim because I've heard it's a lot less populated! Overall, one of the most amazing experiences of my life!!

Breathtakingly beautiful - especially whilst snowing. We couldn't access many of the vantage points due to closed roads because of the snow but what we did see was amazing. There can be queues miles long at the entrance to the park, so ensure you get there early. We did the Pink Jeep Tour and that was fabulous.

I’ve been there last year, this is the best place that I seen in the state. I felt me so free and relaxed with that view and I was so grateful.

The Grand Canyon remains impressive.
Try to go as early as possible, because the sun gives the most beautiful light on the rocks for taking photos until 12:30 p.m.
We drove to Mather point and walked the footpath along the canyon.
The view is different at every point.
We also saw several daredevils who found it necessary to climb over the fence to stand on the edge of a cliff for a photo.
Every year people die who see no danger or want to take the most beautiful pictures.
You can also use the free shuttle buses that stop at all viewpoints.
Make sure you are on time and bring plenty of water and something savory.

This was my second visit. I had visited ten years ago with my children and could see some definite changes particularly in terms of health and safety which can only be a good thing.
We entered from the East gate which is far less crowded than the south. Driving in there are various lookouts/ vista points where you can stop and take in the amazing view.
We stayed overnight at the Bright Angel Lodge with a partial rim view which was lovely and I’ve commented about separately.
Using the supplied map we managed to follow the rim trail around from Bright Angel to the Visitors Centre etc.
We also walked and utilised the buses to see the other side of the rim trail out to Hermits.
Gift shops are scattered throughout and there are a few different places to eat. The queue for Freddie’s was long so we popped into the Tavern where the menu is just a smaller version of the cafe.
We watched the sunset from just outside our cabin which was lovely

Amazing place. Definitely you would want to do some hike along the rim trail. If you are fit, consider going down to the canyon by taking bright angel trail. Use shuttles to your advantage. Go on a sunrise tour.

No picture will do justice to what you are going to see at the Grand Canyon. The size is unbelievable. Best to travel in the fall, winter and spring as the summer temps are brutal and there is no shade. We took the Rocky Mountain Railroad from Flagstaff into the train station right at the Grand Canyon.

I had been to Grand Canyon many times. It never fails to impress & as it’s so massive I discovered areas I had not seen before.
The Dessert View & the Watchtower is certainly worth seeing. There is a shop in the Watchtower which is exempted from tax as the profits goes to a conservation organisation supporting the Grand Canyon.
The only issues on this visit is that the visitor centre at Mather Point was only open for a half day due to a staff shortage.
This world heritage site is definitely not to be missed.

Unbelievable, breathtaking to see such a thing. Impressive what nature has created. When you are close, a must.

We decided on the South Rim because it was much easier to fit into our road trip from Las Vegas via San Diego to Los Angeles. We came from Page, AZ and headed straight for the Visitor Center. We parked the rental car there and walked along the South Rim. With temperatures over 35°C, one direction was enough for us ;-) So we took the shuttle bus back. It was pretty crowded, but still OK. In any case, we got some great impressions of the Grand Canyon.

The view was spectacular and pictures didn’t do it justice for just how big the canyon is! Lots of parking, shuttle services between areas which we took when we got to the end of the trail.

I have been to 60+ countries in the world and Grand Canyon is the best nature wonders! We rent a car in Phoenix and drove all the way to Grand Canyon. We stayed there for 3 days. The entrance fee is $35 per car for up to 7 days. We explored the canyon on the park’s bus service. Hopi Point, Mohave, Bright Angel trails are not to be missed. We did the 2,5 hour trail at the Bright Angel, amazing! Don’t forget to visit Desert view!

Some of the most beautiful views I have ever seen. It is definitely a must do. If you want to see God’s creation you have got to see this

What an experience great well worth booking nothing negative area beautiful.kept clean tidy views are amazing drive in l9vely everything you need

Ridiculous wast of money $64 per person. Grand Tour says its a 2 1/2 bus tour but really it's only 1 1/2 with an hour lunch at Maswik Lodge. The food there was horrible - taco bar. Chicken so soft & mushy I thought I was eating tofu (yuck). The rice think & gummy. The bus took us to 2 stops only - Hopi Point & Mojave Point. Our bus driver spent so much time chatting about the trees we didn't get 1 opp to enjoy the silence & vastness of the Grand Canyon. I learned the Freedom Bus Tour ($45 per person) took the same route less the awful lunch. I would not recommend the Grand Bus Tour. If you have the timen just take the free busses offered by the park.

Incredible landscape, breathtaking, shame that access to this park requires a fee but it’s definitely worth it, it’s magnificent

Well, the little people who are falling apart! FAR TOO TOURISTY. TOO MUCH waiting to get in. Everything gates run by slow incompetents and dumb people not able to prepare their card, ticket or money before!!! A visitor center that closes early when it's packed. I took a road trip through the US and saw SO MANY other wonders, beautiful parks quiet and fewer stupid people running around. ESCAPE!!!!!!!!

Definitely the one to take, Dessert Drive was awesome. Plenty points to stop to take pictures. You really don’t have to stay in the canyon hotel if you don’t want to enjoy the ride. They have blue bus line for free to go to some stops and shops and restaurant . And red bus line to go to other points all the way to Hermits Rest. You cannot go to red bus line with your car at all, have to take the res bus and if you get out in one point to take pictures, 10/15 minutes later you can take the other bus to continue. You can hop on hop off all the way to Hermits Rest Point. We didn’t stop at all points but at couple like, Maricopa, Powell ( stops at this one on the way back as well), Mohave ( again stop at this one on the way back as well) , pima points is the one before Hermits Test. It was super hot. Do not stay at the Bright Angel Lodge.

Gob-smacking, jaw-dropping, breath-taking, awe-inspiring… take your pick! An absolute treasure to anyone who has a pulse. We would gladly go every year and explore new wonders!

A miracle made by nature. Considered one of the wonders of the modern world. The tour of the Grand Canyon National Park is a very enjoyable tour close to nature. We chose to stay outside the park due to the price, but inside the park has a super nice village that should be very good to spend the night and enjoy everything the park offers.

August at the Grand Canyon was a pretty great time to be there. Yeah, it got hot by mid-day but if you get up early and get in the park and hike down about a mile before 10 AM, it makes for a great experience without the spring and fall crowds. Wear walking shoes!!Be very responsible if you walk down to the first bathroom…it is a serious effort to walk back out and if you are not generally fit you become a danger and a burden for park ranges rescue squad. 100% carry more water than you think you need if you hike down for 30+ minutes . Guided tours will help you learn more and spot petroglyphs…I was with someone that had knowledge and could point them out, so we didn’t do a guided hike. The rim trail is a mix of paved and pea gravel and you can hop on and off the busses as well. The wind was significant at the rim so hold tight to your belongs(hat/sunglasses/small kids).

Simply a beautiful nature reserve. We cannot see anything similar in Europe. So big and wide, it's really to fall in love with. What's nice about the South Rim is that this is tailored to every type of hiker. Would you like to walk? Then you can walk between different viewpoints. You're a walking bastard? Then there is a Shuttle Bus that takes you from point to point. That way we could easily visit the nature park with our parents (who are already a little older). We walked a lot, sometimes they stepped along or we met at the next viewpoint.

I of course enjoyed getting to see the canyon for the first time with my family. It was beautiful and I liked the easy access to bathrooms. I will say that a lot of our visit was ruined when waiting for an hour and a half at the south rim entrance. I think it’s a low-staffing/post covid type issue, but it definitely needs to be improved because we were beyond drained when getting through the entrance and had all that energy saved for the canyon, so lots of people I could tell were not happy. We’ve been to several national parks. It never took that long to enter them and it shouldn’t be that way. That definitely needs to be organized better and improved. I understand low staff issues, but it put us in a mood before we even got to see this amazing canyon. Disappointing. I liked the overlook points in the drive.

The best views I have seen so far in my life. Absolutely stunning! We also saw lots of elk, wild horses and condors! The museums had weird hours so be sure to check ahead. Several places were closed in the middle of the day. It was a bit overcrowded at this time of year but still tolerable.

$35 dollar entrance fee but worth every penny.
You can take all the pictures you want but will never do justice to the Grand Canyon.
The North Rim is definitely worth a visit though not quite as spectacular.

First time visiting in Feburary. It was just after a snow storm, so pretty cool seeing the gradient on the canyons. Waits to get inside are a little longer even in off season due to lower staffing levels.

The trip was great 👍 Rod the driver was alert and very professional and skilled also Denisa wasa great tour representative and answered all questions professionally and very informative in giving instructions on times. My family and I would take this trip again with this crew.

Our group of visitors loved every minute of the Grand Canyon. What a sight to see. Seeing it with your own eyes, takes your breath away.

My daughter and I did a three-day trek from the South Rim with Josh of Pygmy Guides. It was absolutely fantastic. We hiked down South Kaibab, camped for two nights and hiked back up Bright Angel. Josh was friendly, knowledgeable and so patient and encouraging. It was hard work but one of the best things I have ever done. Cannot recommend this company highly enough.

A majestic view with beautiful weather only helped make this trip worth every cent! Pictures don’t dip justice to actually being there!

What more can I say about our driver Paul Cunningham. Paul was so knowledgeable about Vegas, Route 66, The Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Mountain and everything on our journey. He made my trip to the Grand Canyon the best birthday ever! Paul is a great asset to your company! He has a great narrative tone to his voice and he also kept us laughing throughout the trip. Keep doing what you do Paul, you're a professional!

We stayed in the park at the Kachina Lodge. It was somewhat costly but worth every penny. We had dinner at the ElTovar Hotel which was amazing. We were seated at one of the large windows during sunset. The view was magical. The waitstaff were amazing. We were up to see sunrise, you shouldn’t miss it. Ate at the ElTovar for breakfast seated at the large windows again. Took the shuttle and stopped at several of the stops to take pictures and do a little walking. The whole trip was very spiritual.

We took Canyon Dave Tours. Knowledgeable guide who not only showed us the sights, but knew the history, Geology and how the Canyon was formed.

i actually flew through the garnd canyon in a very small plane it was noisy and hot .....but it was truly truly amzing .....and i felt so insignificant COMPOARED TO SUCH GREAT NESS ,.........IT WAS AN EXPERIENCE IF YOU EVER GET THE MONEY .....to do this ....do it i was just very blessed and luck to have done this once in a life time experience

Stunning views of the Grand Canyon can be seen from the south rim trail, which is mostly easy hiking. It does have icy spots during the winter months.

The views were simply amazing and we were able to take so many pictures. Our tour guide was super funny and wonderful. I truly enjoyed the experience. The Route 66 stop was so cute and fun!

So very beautiful. We rode E Bikes around the entire south rim, I would recommend this as a way to see the Rim.

First time visiting Arizona and the Grand Canyon was on our bucket list. So we drove on our own from our hotel in Sedona and it was worth the drive to spend the day enjoying all the views .

Incredible experience!!! One of the beautiful sights of the nature... was all magnificent..!!! It means that I might see again....

This was definitely a great park to visit. The views were amazing. Tons of parking available. We stopped at the Yavapai geology museum, which was smaller than anticipated, but still had great information and great views. Make sure if you have kids to do the Junior Ranger program!!

Very awsome experience driving through the south rim. And there are many spots allow you to stop to view the canyon or doing hickinf. There are elks everywhere, though when we were though during early June, it was raining and hailing, so be careful. But it’s Grand Canyon, it’s awsome! Not too long of a drive but definitely enjoyable. You can portion of the canyon when driving as well.

We went and traveled in the south rim. It was super easy to go in and park. We arrived at 9am and there was no issues with lines or crowds.
We did look i to the pink jeep tour but did it ourselves instead. Actually every stop we stopped at the jeep tour was there. If you have a car there is NO reason to pay for a tour. We went in the south rim entrance and left out 8 miles down. It was plenty to see. If you are not hiking it is easy to do yourself and keep cool in the comfort of your car ac.
I was not as impressed with the canyon as I was the red rocks.

I went to the West Rim and was disappointed, I didn’t get butterflies or think WOW, it just didn’t take my breath away. I was bitterly disappointed and was like… what’s wrong with me?!?
Then I came to the South Rim and WOW! There it was! If your going to go, you need to see it from the south rim to really appreciate just how big and vast it is. Worth every penny, and I’d recommend just sitting and watching, the landscape is forever changing colour as the clods pass over and the daylight changes and as the sun moves round, truly beautiful!!!

We have been to the Grand Canyon several times but each time it is breathtaking. This time we came in on the East Entrance from Flagstaff and had a very short queue early in the morning. The South Entrance was very busy when we left at lunch time. The desert view trail is a very easy drive if you have limited time. There are a number of parking spots but these will get busy as the day goes on and at peak times of the year. We were just driving through from Flagstaff to Vegas but this drive reminded us again of the awesome beauty of the Grand Canyon. Staff will give you a helpful map on entry which shows the facilities at each spot. There are no nice places to stop after you leave the Grand Canyon area on the way to Vegas so good to come with water and food. We had an America the Beautiful pass so free entry ($80 for a year).

There are so many walks and view’s you need to give yourself plenty of time to explore. It is easy to stick to the road and more popular areas but try to get out and make the most of it. We saw wild chipmunks, various eagles, vultures and reptiles and had the most amazing views of a family of Elk including young and a buck with massive antlers. But do keep your distance and remember plenty of water.

Even though we have been here before, the views were almost surprisingly breathtaking! Parking was easy and there was a nicely paved path to the viewing area. There were a lot of people but it never felt crowded. There were not a lot of food choices right there, but good options on the drive towards the entrance. We saw several female moose on the way to the parking lot. Seeing the Grand Canyon is indescribable and the views change with the light, so it always feels new.

First time seeing GC other than summer months. Although the weather was cold, very windy and had a little snow, the park was busy and the buses were mostly full. I can’t believe people were hiking the Bright Angel Trail with the ice and snow.
Rangers and bus drivers were excellent.
Stayed in Flagstaff and it’s an easy hour and a half ride in.
There are also a few hotels near the entrance of park if you don’t have a room in the park.

Grand Canyon is the earth’s masterpiece! You have to see it once in your lifetime. The feeling of being there to witnesses the incredible nature created was so much overwhelming! We drove from Las Vegas to south rim side it takes about 4.5 hrs. We arrived at the entrance and the line wasn’t bad long , only takes about 10 minutes. We stop at the visitor center to get some information and we decided to drive on the Desert View Rd. The road is about 23 miles and there are view points to stop at take some pictures and soak up the Grand Canyon feeling! It’s absolutely amazing scenic drive!

Great sceneries along the South Rim with the free shuttle buses ( 15 min wait) We arrived from Flagstaff where we lodged for a week. An organized transfer company ( Groome) brought us here & drove us back for a very fair price ( 90 min one way)

Comfortable bus trip with a bathroom. Very organized trip by the tour business. Ben our tour guide was very friendly and informational. We took the walking tour also, highly recommend to learn about the canyon. Long day but worth it. Excellent tour for first time canyon visitors.

Perhaps the best known part is crowded with the Grand Canyon. We liked it very much! The area is well equipped and offers various walking routes or bus lines that stop at various scenic points! We took the red line and we loved the route!

Arrived on the train and went down to the top of the Bright Angel trailhead (10 min walk) to get away from the crowds. Lovely spot for a snack and to look out on the canyon. We had snow on our visit and it was cloudy most of the time, but every now and again the cloud fully lifted and it was there for all to see. We headed into the historic village for a look around, including the Hopi House and El Tovar hotel where we found the locations seen in National Lampoons Vacation using the pattern of the rocks on the wall. The visitor centre felt more like a gift shop than a place of information but there was plenty to see and do for the 3 hrs we were there before taking the train back to Williams. Think we got lucky due to the weather which meant the crowds were lower than normal, but it must be not as pleasant on a very busy day. Visiting a bit out of season despite the snow has its postives.

Beyond expectations! Lots of different hikes & places to stay for all budgets! We loved Blue Angel, even with the ice on the trail!

My wife and I visted the GC last October and it was amazing. Word can't not explain how beautiful it is. How big it is, and just how tiny you feel overlooking the canyon. It is truly amazing how wonderful it is to see it. We also took a kayak tour down the Colorado river and that too is breath taking. I would do it again, and tell someone to do it if possible.

In 20 years, we’ve been the Grand Canyon just about four times. It never gets old. It’s beautiful. There were no crowds today. The weather was perfect. It took several walks up and down and around.

We stayed in Tusayan on Monday night and drove to the Grand Canyon south rim entrance the next morning (about a 7 mile drive).
We stayed for about 2.5 hrs and walked the nice trail that gave the most beautiful views. When you first start, there are railings to protect you from the edge. As you go, the railings are only at the lookout points where several people can gather at once.
Along the path, we saw some really cool looking trees, plants and lots of Ravens.
There were lots of great photo ops!!! I think my favorite part was seeing the baby boomer generation acting like kids as they posed for fun pictures with the ultimate backdrop. They were having a blast!!
This was a definite ✔️ off the ol' bucket list!!

I try to reserve 5 stars so they stand out but the Grand Canyon south rim is truly a 5 star experience with rich (literally) history, amazing natural beauty with awe inspiring views, and fully supported adventure for the young and old of all capabilities.
The shuttles make it easy to get to the pints of interest. Bright Angel trail is iconic.
Don’t miss the Watchtower (which is NOT accessible by the shuttle), the Visitors Center/Mather Point view, and the El Tovar historic hotel.
Kids age 4-12 can earn their young ranger badge with the National Park booklet, ask for one with any ranger station.
So much to do, learn and see! Can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful experience! Recommend to anyone wanting to have an experience of a life time! Try individuals on staff are extremely knowledgeable and patient!

This is a general review of our visit to the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park (this is our first time). First of all, we did not expect so much beautiful greenery & trees as we approached the entrance nor inside the park - it definitely exceed what we expected - we thought it would be arid, desert-like rock scenery everywhere. This added to the "WOW" factor as we came through the green forest and then a sudden shock of the massive canyon - just amazing.
We spent 2 full days inside the park, but given that we have young kids (11 and under) and the heat in July, we limited the extent of our exploring. The park had reduced hours at the visitor center due to staffing limitations. The staff at the entrance, inside the park, shuttle bus drivers, & the rangers, all who we interacted with, were very friendly, pleasant, and super at their jobs - Thank You. The park is well maintained, clean, organized, and the signage is clear & well placed.
Quick breakdown of the hikes we did: Rim Trail from bright angel to hermits rest, Bright angel trail to 1.5 rest stop, and then Rim trail from kaibab to bright angel. The views from each lookout point through the various trails are incredible. We did most exploring/hiking in the mornings, but the last hike was at night in order to view the sun set and the night sky, it's a wonderful view.

Wonderful, majestic, you just cannot miss it when you love nature at its very best. Also, do not miss flying with the helicopter to fully appreciate the extension of this natural wonder.

The Grand Canyon is probably on most people's bucket list, so take the time to really appreciate it. Seeing this vast landscape in reality can be a challenge to get the perspective - it really just looks like a picture. Then, after a few minutes you appreciate just how huge it is, and what you're experiencing... it's beautiful, awesome and something never to forget.
Go, enjoy, marvel.

Beautiful place, worth every second in this wonderful place, not a video or photo will show the real beauty of this place.

Our family and friends were split on their opinion of the Grand Canyon. Some said it is just a big hole in the ground and others said it was awesome. After our visit, we agree with the people in the awesome mindset. This is one of those places you need to see in person, pictures don't do it justice. You just need to stand on the rim and realize just how big the canyon is and watch how the light changes as the day progresses. We were also able to stay for sunset at Hopi point which is its own kind of awesomeness. Quick summary of our day at the South Rim: 20 minute wait to get into the park (10-10:30am on a Monday in early May), visitor center stop, walk along the rim, shuttle to Grand Canyon village, lunch at Bright Angel Lodge, hike part of Bright Angel trail, Lookout studio / Hopi House / Verkamp Visitor Center, sunset at Hopi point, drive back to Flagstaff. Spend at least a full day there, it's worth it. But watch out for the squirrels, they will steal your Snickers bar as soon as you glance away...

Have traveled to 28 countries and 42 states but nothing compares to walking around the corner from the entrance and the earth opening up in front of your eyes. Hard to describe but please see it once in life.

Breathtaking!! You don’t realise how big it is until you are actually there. We have seen it from the top but we are planning to take a helicopter tour next time. Love it. Highly recommended.

A trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon should on every one's bucket list. This is one of the most beautiful and unique areas in the world. This are had hotels, restaurants, cabins, camp sites, cafes, coffee shops, museums, and shops. Parking and accommodations are limited, so plan accordingly. The best way to see this place is on foot, so bring good walking shoes. We've been here in summer and early spring and enjoyed both seasons. Keep in mind that temperatures can be harsh during summer (hot) and early spring (freezing), and most accommodations have no air conditioning in summer. Entrance to this area is $35.00 per passenger car and there are 2 entrances (south and east). Parking is free, but hard to find, accommodations are expensive, and food is fairly priced in comparison to other tourist areas close by. The views from here are phenomenal, so bring your photography device and enjoy.

When you hear the name grand canyon, I wasn't sure what to expect But once I finally visited for the first time. It is beyond imagination It really puts the grand canyon into perspective as to why they call it the grand canyon I absolutely breath taking I stood there and looked at it for about 5 minutes And just could not believe how enormous the grand canyon actually is wow

What was already a long day was made MUCH longer and spoiled the experience. We were late leaving as the company decided to put two groups on one bus (obviously cost saving and nothing else). On arriving at the canyon, we were told we weren’t visiting listed stops and needed to pay $20 each for a walking tour- to the points listed when we bought the event! Appalling.
The bus developed a wheel problem and rather than arrange to fix it during the 3 hours we were there, they made us get on the bus and insisted we wait away from any amenities except a toilet, in the boiling heat. We were not allowed to return to the viewing point or anything. Ridiculous. It was patronising and inconsiderate to treat a group of adults like children. We eventually set off over three hours later than planned and broke down non-stop on the way back. No alternative bus was provided until police arrived to check & chase the matter. We are still not back in Vegas over 18 hours after setting off. We have not had dinner and made a stop off at a service station with very little food. We couldn’t buy anything except crisps/ biscuits. The tour company advertised water included with the trip- but ran out. Absolutely terrible service. No consideration of medical needs or conditions. Shocking. It appears the company is only interested in saving its money once it sells products & customer service is non-existent.

The South Rim is the busiest part of the park. There is a lot to see and do here. I recommend a walk along the Rom Trail. The trail is level and offers great views. Tke the time to savor the many attractions in this part of the park.

My husband had never seen the Canyon so this was our anniversary trip for our 49th. We took "The Train" from Williams and stayed one night in the park, with most of two days to use the Park shuttles to go to different look-out points along the rim. It was great seeing the Canyon at different times of the day, since the varying sunlight changed the views constantly. We were even treated to a short rain followed by a rainbow within the Canyon. A memorable trip!

We came to Grand Canyon south Rim on August. Its really amazing and beautiful landscape. Its truly wonder in my heart

October is a great month to visit. The temperature was 50-70 with clear sky . Make sure to get there early to avoid long lines at the entrance…….
Park close to the village and take the shuttle to various overlooks ……

Brandon was exelente guide, profesional, kind, and he got lot knowledge about it the cayon.tour was great.good stops to go the restroom.i recommended this tour.

We just returned from the Grand Canyon. Words cannot describe how beautiful it is. It almost seems as if the scenery is painted. We took a bike ride with Bright Angel Bicycle Tours and had phenomenal views from our path. If staying on the rim is on your bucket list, check out El Kachina. Also, our guide told us that the average Canyon visit is only 25 minutes; If you feel like you've seen it and what's next? I highly encourage you to go to different spots along the rim as the views change significantly as you move along the rim.

I am not sure where to start....
It rained..the roof began to leak..
I was there was an upgrade... actually it was a downgrade as they put on a small bus with horrible suspensions which makes the whole tour unbearable....on top of it the vans ac vent was broken so all the air was gushing out of the broken vent on me...the irony is the guide accepted of the the shortcoming but still called it an upgrade...
Above all PLEASE DONT TAKE THE FOOD THEY ORDER....they give you rubbish....
By taking tour with this company will turn your vaccination in sadness...
On calling the company they just said they are not responsubkLe as the tour is taken by local people.... a SERVICE INDUSTRY WITH SUCH Standard....YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO TRY THIS.

The Grand Canyon needs no hype since everyone knows it is absolutely spectacular but I do want to recommend using the bus system to stop at all the viewpoints. It is so convenient to get around the park. Just park your car at the visitors center and ride the buses all day.

Been here three times now with family members to insure all of them see this special place. Arrived this day for sunrise ... extremely cold for kids so they got over-chilled .. walked around to see most but didn't go down the Bridle Path .... Little tired of the focus on questionable heritage claims. Need to enjoy it for what it is .

Spectacular, breath-taking, such veiwing for miles and mile. Beyond words. Smog comes on in the later afternoon hours, stilll great!

So beautiful. Spent the entire day from 9 am to 5 pm . We didn’t realize there was so much to see. One disappointment was the upkeep of the area outside the Grand Canyon. Lots of dead trees, bathrooms by visitors center had lots of stalls yet not one had toilet paper . If you visit bring TP.

Of course the canyon is spectacular and there is nothing like it, however, the south rim is so crowded. They do an excellent job with the shuttles but finding parking is a challenge. Not much they can do about it though. Glad we went to enjoy the scenery and the El Tovar.

Our second visit to the Great Canyon and just as amazing as the first. As we were passing during our west America road trip in July we decided to stop off here again to take in the views. It is just the most awe inspiring sight! The canyon is just vast, beautiful and stunning! Like the first time, we took hundreds of photos and visited all the key look out points along the south rim trail. Loved every minute.
Plenty of parking & toilets - although the later do get a bit grim towards the end of the day. We briefly popped into the nearby shops. An ok selection of gifts, but a little pricey so we just bought a magnet to add to our collection.
Park tickets are also a little pricey, but if you’re staying for longer, I think they allow entry for 7 days, so if you stay in the area longer you can definitely get your moneys worth.
Loved our visit. No doubt will return again at some point :-)

The Grand Canyon offers really spectacular views, even when is snows-this was the case at the beginning of April 2025, and it is worth driving to some viewing spots to see different perspectives

Mark H was professional, incredibly knowledgeable, always on point, and his credibility and attention to detail were evidence throughout the entire experience. He was polite and friendly. He went up above and beyond to ensure all our needs for me. Look him up. He won’t be disappointed.

What an awesome sight to see! The beauty of the canyon is hard to describe! The enormity is also hard to wrap your brain around. Our 10 year old grandsons were shocked by it all.

We were not going to take the bus ride because of the lack of information how and where to board. With perseverance, we followed the south rim bus and got on where we saw it stop. I found the numerous bus drivers, with the exception of a blonde woman, curt and unwilling to share information. One bus driver told us he was not going to the stop where we got on the bus and dropped us off a good walk away, saying this is the closest I get. Then we watched the bus drive past us as we were still walking and drive past our stop. We are all in our 80s and 70s, one of us being 88, and it was 90+ degrees. Really a bunch of miserable people…. How could they not love their job? When you figure out how to get on the bus, plan on getting off and on at each stop because each stop is fascinating. The Grand Canyon gets 10 stars, while the bus drivers deserve 0.

It is the most impressive panorama of those I have seen with spectacular falls and red colors that distinguish it. It is worth the tour that also has an interesting time route (geological) where there are samples of the different rocks according to their age

Had a fantastic trip there with driver Judy and tour guide Fiona!
Nice stops on the way there with beautiful and truly American sights!
Grand Canyon was truly breathtaking and being able to be completely in peace and tranquility
The way back was nice, but for me it should have had 2 stops, because I suffer from RLS and therefore actually have to walk every 1.5 hours. But I wouldn't mind the pain of the last few hours!

The sheer scale, majesty and depth is awe inspiring. A spiritual experience ill never forget. A camera can never capture this nateral wonder. You must see it to beleive it.

You cannot miss the opportunity to see the Grand Canyon! The south rim has many viewing points, so you get an idea of the magnitude. Sunrises and sunsets can't be beat.

Camping trip with my son for 3 days at the Grand Canyon, one of the 10 Natural Wonders of the World. Incredible experience! 15 Kg backpack made the 4500 ft descent more challenging than the ascent. Temp of -10C was cold for a Bangalorean but the weather conditions were outstanding.
Went down the South Kaibab Trail & ascended via the Bright Angel Trail camping next to the Phantom Lodge & Havuspai Gardens.
Superb bucket list item to check off - specially in Winter!

Always wanted to visit Grand Canyon since my childhood... Finally i was there in the late afternoon. It was so amazing view... Sharp edge of the Million Years old mlountains with Colorado river flowing far far away. Sun was setting some where distant but the ray of light was giving a different beauty look. The breeze was very cold and it was cooler than other place.
Never never feed to any animals like squirrel etc in the park. They can become a dengarous problem for you !!

Loved seeing the colors and rock formations in the canyon. Surprised to see all the development inside the park. Train, lodges, grocery, specialized clothing and accessories (cold weather, camping, biking etc.) Visitor center was more like Grand Central Station! Very commercialized high dollar business up on the rim. Very happy we went in the "off season" - less crowded.

Seeing the Grand Canyon has always been on my bucket list and I managed to tick it off in April. We visited the South rim and stopped at various locations to take in the sights. In the village there are plenty of places to eat too, but some you need to make reservations. If you can afford to, would highly recommend getting a helicopter ride over the canyon too as the views are amazing.

This is one of the American bucket list items. Pictures are all well and fine but you have to go there to appreciate the scale of it. There are plenty of tour options but you will do fine with just parking your car and walking the rim trail and visiting the historic buildings on your own.

We took the train tour to the Grand Canyon and went to the south rim. It was truly amazing. Would definitely go again. It was freezing cold there during the Christmas holiday. I might go in September or October or maybe March or April. We were there mid day. I would highly recommend either sunrise or sunset. The lights would bring amazing photos.

Bucket list trip. The photos cannot capture the grandeur but trying anyway. It wowed us all. Even my teenage boys. Plenty of restrooms and water and vista points. Great for hard core hikers or even those who cannot walk. I was so impressed with how you cane drive and park so close. Visiting from DC this is impossible so was a pleasant plus for us.

My husband, my self, our 12 year old grandson and our 7 year old granddaughter all went to the Grand Canyon. It is BEAUTIFUL in all its GLORY. There are so many different sections to see so it’s impossible to see all of it in one day, especially if you plan on doing many of the WONDERFUL activities. Pictures do not do it justice you need to see it in person to APPRECIATE it. We were on the south rim. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!

Noticed a number of the less than 5 star reviews criticize some agency or service that they felt failed to deliver. Cannot attest to any of that as we simply drove up on a Monday late afternoon on our own and paid $35 for our carload to enter (which is good for a week's worth of time). Parked in a lot near the Mather Point access and took in the gorgeous views through sunset. Returned the next morning and parked in a lot near the Bright Angel Trail and enjoyed taking everything in for a couple of more hours. There is nothing like this place.
If hiking, taking in views and learning a little history aren't your thing, this probably isn't going to appeal to you. Imagine a lot of today's youth would probably be bored after a bit, but that is not the fault of this amazing setting.

It is a wonderful place. When I saw it I was speechless about the wonder of the place. The park is very organized, clean. We rented bicycles and visited spectacular places. We had lunch at El Tovar, the stroganof pasta was very delicious.

South Rim is a beautiful place. There is a bus shuttle system with multiple routes. We never used our rental car for 4 days. Hiked Bright Angel, South Kaibab, Rim Trail and a little of the Hermit. The outlooks are fantastic and very safe. Stayed at Buckey O’Neill suite, right on the Rim trail. Food and lodging offerings within the Park are all very expensive, so just expect that.

Great time at the Grand Canyon. Views are amazing. Not too crowded in late October. We had a great time.

You can never really grasp the grandiose of this canyon. We explored the different layers of the earth in accordance with a sudden change of the Earth.
After visiting Petra, you see the exact same detail in the Earth’s layers indicating a worldwide catastrophic change. The Flood
They had just had an artist competition. Plein Air, and the exhibition was at the Southern Rim. The artists were exceptional.

This was our first trip to the Grand Canyon. We stopped in Flagstaff, AZ on our way to a wedding in Tucson. Realizing how close this was to the South Rim, it was an easy decision. The colors of the stone at various angles of the sun were just stunning. We also witnessed several elk which was a bonus.

The view from the South Rim is simply overwhelming. We took a bus tour to the South Rim from Vegas and didn't regret a minute. Nciht only the IMAX cinema in the visitor center is worth seeing and informative - the most diverse vantage points that can be easily walked are a dream! - Definitely a recommendation - this nature spectacle should not be missing on any to-do list!

I think it is common knowledge that you probably would not want to visit Death Valley National Park in the summer, right? But would you think you could visit the Grand Canyon in the winter? I have been to the Grand Canyon before, when I was younger; and I was always admired by it’s beauty. But I recently went to visit some family in Flagstaff, Arizona and came out a couple of days early to enjoy some of the national parks in the area - mainly the Grand Canyon.
Now, most people are aware that it can get very, very warm in parts of Arizona; and they do have monsoons during the summer. However, in northern Arizona the weather is different, especially in Flagstaff. It is a higher elevation and it can snow! So imagine how amazingly beautiful the Grand Canyon is when it is covered in a layer of snow!
I went the day after Christmas and it was surprisingly busy. It wasn’t jam-packed with people but it was definitely swarming. The best thing was, the weather was very temperament. I just walked around, enjoyed the sites. The Grand Canyon is so vast, but the cliffs are truly amazing - there is nothing like it. And there were even some Rocky Mountain deer walking around - and they are huge! They look like baby moose!

We did things a little differently. In an effort to avoid the main crowds, and due to the fact that we were heading west on I-40, we drove up to Cameron, AZ and spent the night at the Cameron Trading Post. Got up at dawn and drove to the south entrance on the East Side, maybe a half hour or so from Cameron? Most tourists enter at the South West entrance. There was not a soul in line to enter here at this time. We had no trouble parking at any lot or view point. Our first views of the canyon was when the sun had just risen and there were no other people around. We made our way along Desert View Drive heading east and stopping at the viewpoints along the way. It was incredible, and also nice because there were very few people. I think the drive is about 23 miles. By the end, where we exited at the South West Point, we had finally started to see several more people and the crowds coming in. We exited the park heading south where we rejoined I-40 at Williams AZ and continued on our way. I believe we were driving on I-40 again by 10-11am. Maybe even sooner. If you’re looking to see the Grand Canyon and have limited time to do so, this is the way. We took no tours or buses or went to any gift shops as it was too early and the opposite entrance - and we were totally ok with it. You could probably hit a gift shop on the way out maybe, but I’m not sure. When leaving though, you do pass through Grand Canyon Village and it looks like there’s plenty of food and activities if you wanted to stick around. The Grand Canyon is breathtakingly beautiful and something you should not miss. I am so glad we planned this as a side stop on our cross country trip. It was worth every single second.

My wife and I stopped here for two days on our summer vacation. We greatly enjoyed early morning views of the canyon and all the wildlife viewing opportunities. My wife especially enjoyed observing the baby elk (from a safe distance of at least fifty yards) and taking pictures of California Condors. While in the park we stayed at Maswik Lodge, which we appreciated for its convenient location and cafeteria-style dining options. I wish I could say my review ended there.
This year's vacation included stops at five national parks and I was shocked that the Grand Canyon, of all places, was the most overwhelming disappointment. Two factors seriously detracted from our experience, and they're factors that probably impact most visitors - poorly executed public transit & inconsiderate visitors.
My wife and I rode the train into the park, opting to leave our vehicle in Williams, AZ. Getting around on foot and via the shuttle buses sounded like a great option. Unfortunately shuttle buses that weren't running according to schedule, buses that were completely full, and buses routs that simply weren't running when they were scheduled to run absolutely ruined our plans. To be clear I greatly enjoy taking advantage of public transit opportunities and I don't mind waiting for a bus, but we spent hours waiting, including once when we later found out the bus driver simply hadn't shown up for work...it took them nearly an hour to dispatch another driver on the rout.
The second disappointing aspect was the behavior of fellow visitors. I normally don't mind how other people act, but people here were rude, pushy, impatient, and just plain stupid. Our day would probably be ruined if we had the misfortune of witnessing a young person get trampled by an elk they spooked while trying to take a selfie with it. Our real struggle was the vast number of people who thought it was acceptable to throw things, including large rocks, into the canyon. My wife and I were looking forward to a couple of short hikes into the canyon but decided against it due to safety concerns - rocks thrown by visitors seriously injure and kill hikers on lower switchbacks.
We love visiting our nation's parks and I wish I could leave a more favorable review of such a popular destination. We may go back again but if we do we'll be opting for the North Rim, which is less accessible and sees much lower visitor counts.

Breathtaking experience. The south rim is the most popular rim, so expect to see crowds. Lots of good areas to take pictures of. When I went in April it was still pretty cold and didn’t see much information on short realistic trails with elderly parents, however standing on the rim and looking at the canyon was very nice. I do recommend driving to other lookouts too if you can.

Always a great time visiting the Grand Canyon whether with young kids, older kids, or just adults. I’ve been many times now and always find something new and exciting. I’ve found it best to go off the main area away from a lot of the crowds - during peak season it can get quite crowded. Part of the path is paved, but there are spots where it is gravel so make sure to bring comfortable hiking shoes.

Tony is a knowledgeable guy. Good to hear history in person instead of a recording. Nice and comfortable seating.

I have been to Vegas many times so this time, instead of just eating, drinking, gambling and seeing shows, I decided to go to the Grand Canyon. I booked a tour with Top Canyon Tours, which was great (see my separate review of their tour). I would strongly suggest going to the South Rim instead of the West Rim even though it is much farther from Vegas. South Rim is part of the National Park and the canyon is deeper so the views are much more breathtaking. But I would also suggest taking a tour instead of driving. The drive is 5 hours and having someone else drive is really nice. Plus Claudio knew when to go and where to go to avoid traffic. We probably save 2-3 hours in wait time.
The views were spectacular. Claudio dropped us off at a scenic place on the path and then we walked to the village/tourist centre. It was about a 45 minute walk on paved pathway so really relaxing and scenic. I can't say enough about the place and really everyone should go at least once in their lifetime.

There was an amazing lightning show over the canyon in the evening. Add to this, a steady stream of headlamps from the hikers that did the trip to the valley floor and back. As they finished their last steps on Bright Angel trail, they were applauded for their feat.

Oh my God, words seriously cannot describe how mind-blowing the Grand Canyon is! We just stood there at the South Rim and our jaws literally dropped—it’s like looking at a different planet. The sheer scale of this place is absolutely insane; photos don't even come close to doing it justice. We caught the sunrise and watching the light hit those deep red layers of rock was a total spiritual experience. It’s definitely a massive bucket-list win and makes you feel so tiny in the best way possible. If you’re road-tripping through the West, you 100% cannot skip this place. It’s pure American majesty at its finest! We’re already talking about coming back for a helicopter tour or hiking all the way down to the river. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime vibe that lived up to all the hype and more. Just get here, seriously—it’s freaking awesome!

The impressive view of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon is truly breathtaking. In the huge depression, incredible traces of the power of nature are drawn, and the feeling of the smallness of the human scale captivates you. The diversity of the rocks and the endless view of the depth will be forever remembered by all visitors.

Breathtaking natural beauty! Hard to grasp in a photo. It just doesn’t do it justice. Such a vast landscape. We drove around and stopped at numerous lookouts.

This should be on everyone's bucket list! The Grand Canyon is incredible! The South Rim is MUCH busier than the North Rim but, having been to both, I can say we like the South Rim better. Better views, and more of them. The downside is there is probably 1000x (not kidding) more people.

Known as one of the Natural Wonders of the World it certainly lived up to it's reputation, it was outstanding. We walked 5 miles from Bright Angel Lodge on the Rim Trail towards Hermits Rest, wonderful views. On a Monday in mid May it surprised me that we were often the only people around, maybe 4 or 6 congregate at some viewpoints but often none at all. People give opinions on the best viewpoint which is pointless unless you've visited them all. And from arriving and viewing some at sunset, to checking views at 07.00 and walking 09.00 until 13.00 in clear skies the views with shadows constantly changing its hard to mention the best. When the sun was high were our best views. But for an opinion, our favourites for Hermits Rest side, Powell Point and the nearby Hopi point.
Mather Point the biggest disappointment, not the best views at all and even on a quiet day just too many people interested in nothing but selfies.
The following day we exited along Desert View Drive where you can pull up at a number of viewpoint parking lots. We didn't leave until 10.30 to allow full sun and it didn't disappoint. Viewpoints along this road were on also good with Lipan Point excellent.

Having traveled to over 60 countries worldwide, I can confidently say that the Grand Canyon stands out as one of the most remarkable natural wonders! Our journey began by renting a car in Phoenix and embarking on a scenic drive to the canyon. Spending three days there, we found the $35 entrance fee per car for a week to be quite reasonable. Utilizing the park's bus service, we explored various points including Hopi Point, Mohave, and the renowned Bright Angel trails. The 2.5-hour trek along the Bright Angel trail was particularly breathtaking. And of course, a visit to Desert View is an absolute must!

Amazing views from the south rim. Take the blue line to the trailhead for beautiful scenery. If you’re into hiking, definitely take a hike down the Kaibab Trail. Even if you only make it to Ooh-Ahh point, it is well worth your time. If you’re more adventurous, take the trail the way down through Cedar Ridge to Skelton Point, which will be six miles round trip. You will have stopping points every one and a half miles for water and restrooms. Bring your own toilet paper and have sanitizer. Remember that it will take you twice as long to go back up as you go down, so have lots of hydration, sunscreen, salty snacks, layered clothing (it gets hotter as you descend), and good hiking shoes. Hiking poles are well worth the investment as it can be slippery at times. If you’re lucky, you will see bighorn sheep along the way. It’s a don’t miss!!

I can say that I saw the dimension of God's power once again in this place. Amazing and the photos cannot show the real reality

I have lived in the US for 57 years and had never visited. I had seen plenty of pictures and figured not that big of a deal. When I looked out over the canyon I was blown away. I could not believe I had never been there. Pictures cannot do it justice, and I highly recommend going for yourself. The view is simply breathtaking.

This was a planned stop on our 4000 mile road trip. BONUS that our family got in FREE with our 4th graders national park pass. There isn't a looking point in this area that doesn't have stunning views!! At the visitor center they have videos to watch, clean bathrooms and extra things to see and do along the way. The Grand Canyon is magnificent. I had never had a desire to really make a special trip just to see the Grand Canyon but after seeing just the south rim in person, I would love to see the other parts. Words can't describe the beauty. But, I'll admit, It's kinds scary when taking pics along the areas that are not fenced off when traveling with kids. That's a LOOOONG fall!! Overall, LOVED this stop!!

Simply amazing. We stopped at all of the overlooks on the southern rim and were amazed at how different the canyon looked from each.

Awesome experience at the Grand Canyon in 110' sunny weather.Well worth the trip while traveling to Sedona Arizona. Two hour tour with two stops on enroute.

Absolutely stunning. Pictures do this no justice. One of the most amazing things o have ever seen. Don’t even hesitate - just go. We went in April and it was a great time to go. Crowds were manageable and the staff runs the park like a well oiled machine. Try to get there about 9 AM. You won’t be disappointed. So many things to do.

The pictures that you see of the canyon only tell half the story. Once you actually see it with your own eyes, then it hits you, what an awesome sight it is

If you haven't been to the Grand Canyon, you need to go! This place was absolutely breathtaking. We took a trip up here while we were in the area for a wedding and were glad we went.
The views are amazing. I would suggest taking a few hours and spending time here. We would love to go back and spend more time there and enjoy some hiking through the Canyon. Unfortunately, on this trip we were unable to do any hiking, but we definitely enjoyed the views.
Be sure to check out our blog for a full review.

What can you say about a place that is a cliche for grandeur? Just this: get there early. Enter the park from the east entrance if possible (South entrance had a back-up 1/3 mile long at 0930am.) Watch out for hordes a bus tourists with selfie sticks. I never saw a single park ranger, although the place seemed pretty clean and the people were well behaved.

Breath taking views! Walk leisurely and enjoy the fabulous views, but remember to dress for the weather as it can be cold and windy.

You can fly over this wonder or visit.
I have flown over numerous times but NOTHING compares to actually standing on the rim, marveling at nature's miracle.
We had our dogs so walked the trails from Mather camp, which wasn't far. We also stopped at the geological museum and gift shop.
I would like to visit another time without our 4 legged family if possible. I strongly recommend.

We stayed in Phoenix and the ride to the Canyon was 3/12 hours. It was so worth it the scenery was to die for. We pre paid the entry fee online $35 per car ( good for 7 days). We were not into hiking so we just did the main look out omg so beautiful and breath taking.

The tour by comedy on deck was good overall I would recommend. The tour started with pick up over 30 mins late however we did receive text communication that there was an emergency for the driver... the tour guide Ralph was good overall I would recommend he not share all the negative reviews as I actually read them prior to booking. Otherwise he was very personable, slightly cocky but not enough to annoy myself. Ralph shared he is a comedian, dog parent and bits of his life journey which was cool to his present career. Despite leaving late we returned between 5:45-6:30pm I believe.
Ps. The young lady sitting by me from Australia was also on solo trip and sadly did not understand tipping so I explained however once we got to hotel she shared she gave Ralph $20, 10 for him and 10 for driver. I shared Ralph explained he don't share tip and to separate she said she didn't hear that. So for the international people I would say explain again before departing so the drivers aren't shorted or place all tips together and simply split since you all are a team anyway.
Also the breakfast and lunch were decent.

Lifetime experience. Pick up from our hotel at 10:00 and return there at 17:30. Flight with helicopter to South rim and return with flight against. Amazing views and pilot. One of the - must do things if you go there

Drove in from the south, to the visitors center. Many cars circling for parking….fortunately we found a spot quickly. Second week of April, so not too busy yet. A brisk 55 degrees. Visitors center closed for staff training. Bathrooms were open. We then walked five minutes to Mather Overlook, then followed the sidewalk for twenty minutes to Yavapai Overlook. Flat walk. Fenced for part of the way, but not all. Watch your kids! Yavapai Overlook has a good geology interpretive center and restrooms. We were there three hours or so. It is definitely worth seeing, for two reasons. Yes, it is nothing more than a hole in the ground, but the sheer size of it is breathtaking. (Warning….there is nothing to see that gives it the proper sense of scale…..no cars down there, etc. So you need to use your imagination). And the colors are beautiful. I would not plan a big vacation solely around the GC. But we were in Sedona, so it was fairly close. Most importantly, I would not drive all over or hike all over, trying to get more out of the basic experience. I don’t think that would add much at all. I had considered doing the mule rides into the canyon, but I am glad we didn’t. We also drove around the village, a few miles down the road. Kind of interesting. And it had a real grocery store, which we stopped at. Then drove east along the canyon, exiting the east gate. That allowed us to get glimpses of where the canyon “starts”, outside the park in the desert, which was cool. We stopped at a couple additional overlooks briefly as we drove east in the park.

September 22, 2024 was a perfect time to visit the Grand Canyon South Rim. There were small groups of visitors walking along the rim trails. We were able take our time and stop and view the Canyon without having to rush away because someone was waiting for my spot. The weather was perfect, no clouds in the sky, the temperature was in the low 80's in the afternoon and in the low 60's at sunrise. The canyon colors are different at sunset, look for deep reds. At sunrise you see many changes to the colors, the scene is spectacular!

Beautiful views from all points of the south rim. Easy walking trail. We stayed in a hotel on the rim trail, and I highly recommend doing so.

(View from south rim) nice view you can go along the edge, you're not far? Go see him! A classic of the United States, go there preferably at sunset or when conditions make the canyon orange

This was something that all Americans need to see, in person. In fact, that must be the way everyone in the world sees it, as we were surprised how many times we boarded the shuttle buses and it seemed like we were the only ones on the bus not speaking a foreign language.
The Canyon is beautiful, from just about any viewing point you visit, and there are a LOT of them. The free shuttle bus system is a great way to get around the village, but the Blue shuttle hits a lot of stops, and takes a long time to circle the village. We had better luck in our car, just hitting the viewing points to the east with parking lots. As far as the points to the west, the Red shuttle is the only way to go, as no cars are allowed on this route. We didn't do the Orange shuttle to Yaki point on the ease side, as we ran out of time. But if you have the time, do that one.
Overall, it's very pricey to get into the South Rim, but the pictures and video you're going to get are going to be well worth it. There is nothing like walking up to that wall by the El Tovar Hotel the first time, and looking at the Grand Canyon. Wow.

Wonderful to see a beautiful place. Nice walk around the South Rim. A good visitors center that had lots of info. Long line of cars waiting to get in. Go early.
I decided to buy a 1 year senior pass, which was less than a standard admission & lets me visit all national parks for a year at no additional cost.

The Grand Canyon is one of those places that truly takes your breath away the moment you see it. No photo or video can prepare you for the sheer scale, depth, and beauty of this natural wonder. The layers of red, orange, and gold rock stretching for miles under the open sky are simply awe-inspiring.
We visited the South Rim, which offers some of the most iconic viewpoints like Mather Point and Desert View Watchtower. The walking trails along the rim are easy to follow and provide spectacular views at every turn. For the more adventurous, hiking into the canyon is a challenging but unforgettable experience – especially on trails like Bright Angel or South Kaibab.
Sunrise and sunset at the Grand Canyon are magical. The colors change constantly, and the silence and stillness add to the sense of wonder. The park is well-organized with shuttle buses, visitor centers, and friendly rangers ready to help.
This is not just a sightseeing destination – it’s a place that reminds you how powerful and beautiful nature can be. A must-visit for anyone traveling to the American Southwest.

We are not big hikers, prefer easy longer walks and the South Rim is perfect for that. We stayed at Kochina Lodge and everything was located all around us, no need to get in the car again. The views were lovely, there were many trails to enjoy that were flat and easily accessible. Restaurants were limited but you had a few options. We went the last week of August and it wasn’t crowded.

I would suggest not going into the actual Grand Canyon and paying $35 to park. There's a nice spot to pull over about a mile, before you reach the entrance that provides magnificent views.

We walked a large segment of the trial along the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, from our base at the El Tovar Hotel. There are amazing views along the entire path, with specific spots containing scenic viewing areas overlooking the canyon. The are some bathroom facilities along it, as well, parking lots at various locations. There is bus service along it, as well, but we did not use it.
The trail is paved and easy to walk, although some parts may be slippery with ice or snow so one should be careful.
One can also walk along the various lodging facilities and take trails which wind down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. There is such a trail near the hotel complex which contains the El Tovar at Grand Canyon Village. That trail is in of itself wide and easy to walk, although one must be careful about how long it is and the big change in elevation between the top of the ridge and the Grand Canyon bottom which can be not only very fatiguing, but could cause serious illness for those who try to go all the way down and then back up in the same day. There are warning signs for this.
It was also bitterly cold most of the time we were walking along it, mostly due to the strong wind chill factor. The last day, the ambient air temperature was slightly lower but it was still and foggy, so without the wind it was much more comfortable. However, the dense icy fog occluded our views that day.

Mike was well organized, a story teller. However, he seemed to deny climate change, which made me discount his scientific knowledge. I wonder if he reflects this tour company’s perspective. Anyway, inappropriate for the tour.

It has such amazing views from different points. Its vast. We took the shuttles from the visitor center and were able to have a majestic experience. The sunrise and sunset views are nice from different point

I finally got to check another big National Park off my list. We spent 2 nights at the South Rim and managed to see the majority of the big sites. We took the bus out to Hermit's Rest and stopped at most of the overlooks. We went over to the main Visitor Center and did Mather Point. We drove out the east side of the park and watched the sunrise. It was an excellent couple of days.
My only complaint really is that the food options in the park are lacking. We ate at the Arizona Steakhouse and it was mediocre. We stayed at the El Tovar and managed a good parking spot. Luckily, we didn't have to move the car for the entire stay.
Overall, it was excellent. The pictures I have are amazing. I highly recommend.

The view is indescribable and massive. The Grand Canyon village has nice places to eat but it’s crowded. Better to go outside of the park.

Our tour guide Kate is very knowledgeable , professional, very active, not boring at all. We enjoyed very much our trip with her.
Our driver James is a very good safe driver and very professional.

My mom and I visited the Grand Canyon during a 10 day trip from Washington to Florida and are glad that we did!
This is a must-do for obvious reasons, but truly did live up to all of the hype and high expectations!
The canyon is beautiful and we loved that the main scenic road was closed to all cars except the shuttle system.
Tom G was our absolute favorite driver of the buses and we LOVED him and all of the little facts he gave along the way. The red route is the best way to see all of the scenic spots of the canyon and there is a (mostly) paved trail called the "Rim Trail" that actually goes from stop to stop as well, is a really easy walk, and a beautiful way to see the canyon.
Hermit's Rest was underwhelming, however, as we thought the best view was from Mojave Point! Mather Point is the most photographed, but we think this is honestly just because it is right behind the visitor's center.
All in all, the red route is the best way to get multiple views, but honestly you could park at the visitor's center, walk to Mather Point, take a picture, and leave if you were in a time crunch. The view really/honestly does not change from point to point!
We did not do any hiking, so I cannot comment on that, but we did see elk scattered throughout the lower parts of the park.
Overall, worth to do once in your lifetime, but for me honestly, not somewhere I feel like I need to go again!

Well, the attraction is fine, but it's not the most exciting thing, and it has extra cost, so if you don't have a problem spending, go ahead.

We came in the south gate and then took the Desert View route east to the east gate.
All the way along there are large parking areas (six I think) as well as a few more casual stops. That means you don't have to follow the crowd and park up when you first see cars after about half a mile - there are loads of opportunities to see the canyon.
it's truly impressive, so giant that it's hard to take in. We found driving along and stopping off at every point very easy to do and the park was $35 for a seven day pass.

As they say...pictures don't do it justice. The south rim is beautiful. The lookouts offer a variety of views. The trail can be as long or as short as you like. The park is very clean. Shuttle availability between lookouts and parking lots makes this accessible for almost everyone.

My wife and I visited this place 2 years ago for our anniversary. There are NO words to describe the beauty that God has created. We saw eagles, donkeys carrying people down into the canyon and the sunset over the hills. It was definitely something to behold!

This is the most impressive thing I've ever seen in my life. The view is just amazing. Words can't explain how beautiful it is, we got there for sunset and it was unreal.

What an experience! Much more than I expected. I thought that I would be like Chevy Chase in Vacation, but the vistas are so beautiful and intriguing. We were there when it had snowed a couple of days earlier. The roads were clear, but there were patches of snow everywhere we looked. It was also quite cold. We walked on the trails near the Mather Lookout Point and got some fantastic views.

It's so famous that people come from all over the world and the Park lets them all in but does not cater for them all. The FREE bus service was dire. They run every 10-15 minutes is advertised. We had to give up after queueing for 40 minutes and only seeing two buses. Waiting an hour just to get on a bus is not really good enough. And when you did get on them they stunk of sweat and filth. I know they have had a busy season but clean the buses more than once a year. The information centre is a necessity- but it was only open 8-12 5 days a week- USELESS- blaming lack of staff. All the ice cream concessions were closed and every shop was heaving with people trying to gets drinks or snacks. It spoilt the experience having to struggle to get drinks and the buses not running on time I was lucky enough to visit 25 years ago when it was a dlight and run so well.

There is nothing I can add that other's haven't written. I would only like to add a tip that we received from one of the park rangers. Due to heavy traffic, we arrived much later than planned. One of the rangers suggested we leave our South Kaibab hike for the next day and instead hike the rim trail from Mather's Point to Hopi Point and enjoy the sunset. Given this opportunity and the Super Moon expected in the sky that night, we quickly changed plans and followed his advice. We arrived at Hopi Point about 10 minutes before sunset and were incredibly glad to have made the 4 mile hike.

There are no words to describe the magnificence of the views. The 4 kilometers trail along the canyon is very well done with the corresponding stops to take amazing photos. An unforgettable experience.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the first time we looked out over the Grand Cayon from the Mather Point viewpoint on the Rim Trail was simply unforgettable.
The beauty of a breathtaking landscape, vast, elaborate, with those changing colors depending on the time of day is something unimaginable, even if you have already seen dozens of photos.
We parked and did all the South Rim from the Visitor Center to Hermit's Rest with the shuttles we highly recommend the first day. The next morning, by car, we explored the right side to the Desert View Watchtower. All spectacular.

We went really early in the morning. It was perfect because we missed any traffic jams. I feel like we have the park to ourselves. The views were beautiful, and people were very respectful. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves.

I have seen it in movies and documentaries and thought that I knew all about it. But when walking up to the edge it was way more spectacular than I ever could have expected. We spent some hours by the South Rim and we were stunned all the time. It’s really worth a visit and can’t be fully explained if you haven’t seen it.
We made it as a one-day trip from Las Vegas and spent many hours in the car, but it worked well. We arrived at the entrance at 1 pm and there was no queue at all. When exploring the South Rim we saw that there are really nice places to spend the night which would have been nice.
I can only say that you must see this if you have the chance!

Wonderful sights, easy access also by car, it is really incredible to see. Entrance fee per car is 35 dollars. Many sighting spots. What we liked was the desert view watchtower.

First, we stayed right on the rim at Bright Angel cabins. Linda at the front desk was a hoot!!! She made the entire process amazing! The rooms are literally steps from the rim! Sunrise was AMAZING!!! It was brisk out but it soon warmed up. The small easy (they say “easy”) hike to watch sunset was breathtaking but the elevation for that 1.4mile hike was strenuous for us 50 something gals) you can take the free shuttle along parts of the trail so if you get pooped take it. Met so many amazing people from all over the world! Thinking about it? Make a plan! Stay at the rim…make some amazing memories🍁

Grand Canyon destination was horrible. The tour guide Kury was training someone and was very rude to him. He was telling him things that the guest sh ould not have heard. Talking about how vulnerable the guest were after we ate dinner and had a few drinks. That he recommend $10 tips. But what ever we could give would be great. Lied boupicture spots and that he would show us things orhers on tour would not see, he lied about the length of the trail around the south rim, it was 2.4 mikes he said it was 3.5 mikesand would probably not make it back to catch the bus in time. So taking his tour was beneficial to us for $25.
Kury treated us like school kids. He did role call for each stop.would not make accouncements if someone was talking. Bus was old and bumpy.not a comfortable ride. Tv was in a corner and my sit was sitting backwards so I could not see it. Would not recommend this company at ALL.

There are no words to describe the beauty of the Grand Canyon. Parking is tricky if you are not there early but we managed a stop right near the visitors center. There are many parking lots and the free shuttle runs past most of them. The crowds were not as bad as I expected and we did see people doing dumb stuff
overall worth the stop, worth the views

We went 11.2022. There are SO many trails... take the time and walk into one to the end. Plan for hours of walking. Good shoes, water, snacks. There are trails all over the park, and it is possible to only walk 1/2 a mile into a trail (or more), if one is unable to do the whole trail. DO NOT let the length of a trail discourage you from walking in...just watch the distance or time. It is SO worth it to walk down into the canyon. Such a different view! Dress in layers...it is cold to start, but once walking, you will get warm. BRING WATER! Check out the sunset EVERY night if possible! At least once is mandatory! Get to the sunset spot 20 minutes before sunset to check out the area and find a spot! The orange bus will take you out to west facing views. It is...incredible. Cannot be matched at the canyon. You can drive to non bus routed west facing views as well. The south rim trail is wonderful to walk and will not disappoint. The view is VAST at numerous spots! There are bike rentals and bike paths...we did not do this, but wish we had checked it out. This may be easier if walking is limited or to see more with small children. The gift shop at Bright Angel lodge has lots of good gift ideas, reasonably priced snacks and food items, and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. The burger place near the gift store has good food and is also reasonably priced (with a kids menu). Enjoy! the Grand Canyon South Rim is... lovely!

Tourist spot that must be visited at least once in your life...
We arrived very early... and it was good because there were few people and practically no queues.
Entrance fee was a little high... 70 dollars per person.
You take a bus and they take you first to the skywalk... there you can walk on a glass walkway. The bad thing is that you can't take your cell phone with you to this place to take photos, only the places that take them from you and still charge you 50 dollars for 8 photos. I found that a bit annoying.
Then you can catch the bus again and go to the next stop, there you can take a nice walk and enjoy the view better!
The view is sensational!
The tour lasts approximately 60 minutes!
To take the helicopter flight, I recommend booking in advance! We arrived at the time to buy and had no more energy.

We drove 11.5 hours and made it right before sunset. Pictures do not give this experience justice. Breathtaking views.

A monster of nature. Leaves you breathless. There is no photo that can show its size. We came for two hours but will return to stay there at least 4 days.

We started our Grand Canyon adventure here. Good base camp to park, hike, and check out the big hole in the ground. :-) We worked our way East. Here in March, so parking was easy, but started getting busy around 11am.

Well, what can you say about the Grand Canyon, other than "magnificent"? One of the most beautiful places I've seen in my life, it leaves you breathless, and it's not just a stereotype. The show is truly incredible, you can't imagine it. I won't add anything else because I would risk repeating myself.
- I suggest a weekday, avoid Sundays and holidays, we went on a Wednesday and it wasn't too crowded
- We arrived in the afternoon and still struggled a lot to find a parking space. Maybe early morning is better.
- If you go in the afternoon don't miss the sunset: fantastic
- While driving at the edge of the forest keep your eyes open because among the trees you are likely to see beautiful wild animals :-)

Such a breathtaking experience, and in the snow it was so much more special.
We were super lucky with our timing as the roads had been closed for a number of days before we arrived due to the snow, and it snowed again as we were leaving, but we had blue skys for the three days we were in the Canyon.
I have been to the Canyon before, in peak season, and would highly recommend coming in winter. Its so much easier to move about without hordes of people in the way, and Hermits Road is drivable rather than having to walk or take the shuttle bus. And the snow just added to the beauty, we just had to wrap up warm.

If it’s the last thing you do make sure you visit GC south. Words are not enough to describe how stunning it truly is . It’s also very educational, healthy and interactive.it was too hot to clime down the rim so we decide to walk the rim. We walked and walked and walked and……..
optional you can take a bus and miss a lot

Absolutely incredible place, photos can't do it justice, incredible views and helpful staff on hand to answer questions

Exactly what I was looking for Fiona carter was our tour guide she was great funny and knowledgeable I enjoyed my trip to the Grand Canyon with my husband and adult step son we will have memories to last a life time and the driver was excellent I don’t remember his name but he was bilingual spoke Spanish and English I am from Miami so the mountain drive does scare me but he was perfect thank you all was a great tour I highly recommend them and company thank you and have a blessed day Barbara Spencer

Breathtakingly beautiful, lots of scenic views loved walking the different trails. The shuttles were also a great option to get to all the different areas. The GC Village was very nice had a visitor center, gift shop and a cafe. Also if you have a national park passport there's different areas to get different stamps.

Grand canyon is surreal. We enjoyed the view thru the Mathers point, just need to walk 5 mins frim visitor center. We also ride the blue route bus and stopped in bright angel lodge, there you can already see the view of beautiful grand canyon. The weather was beautiful, not too hot bec of green lush.

Absolutely awful. I feel off and broke my pelvis. It was quite horrific, then to top it all off I lost my pants. they were my favorite lime green cargos. I was there on a family vacation, was NOT my first choice, I wanted to go to key west but that was shoot down. anyway, I hate it here and if you decide tp visit this hell hole bring an extra pair of pants.

Walked a couple of miles of the trail from Bright Angel towards Hermits RestSouth Rim of Grand Canyon - a mazing views. Great experience.

Unique emotion! Describing these landscapes is really complicated. They are images that remain indelible in your heart.

The canyon never disappoints! It was a first time visit for several in our group and they found it amazing....which of course it is. It was quite cold and snowing when we first arrived so the gift shop with their sale of winter hats and sweatshirts was a welcome first stop.
It was very busy, I cant imagine what the summertime must be like. We enjoyed walking along and enjoyed the museum as well.
Truly breathtaking!

Amazing views on a beautiful partly cloudy day. First stop was the visitor center then just 3-4 minutes walk to nearest view point . It was a bit crowded but the view was stunning. Other than taking pictures just few minutes looking at all around makes you feel so good.Than we took the orange bus to other view points.

Had a great time our tour guide was great. South Rim Bus tours Jamie was our driver very professional and curtisous to all on our trip

Though we’ve been here before, we really enjoyed our visit to the south rim of the Grand Canyon. No matter the time of day it’s a truly spectacular and mesmerizing sight. If you’re going for that “wow” photo then do your research so you end up at the best spot at the best time.

Unmissable visit to the South Rim between Hermit Rest Point and Desert View, impressive and always different views with a few points to focus on.
Very practical and regular free shuttle service which allows travel according to our desires and walking possibilities.
A must for size and colors.

Beautiful and aweinspiring views. Incredible Valley with an interesting geology trail where you learn about the millions/billions of years. The area is very Well functioning with bus shuttles, good campground, groveres and restaurants. Also if you stay a few days There are different Education and ranger activities to participate in. I suggest that you walk along the South rim - take the entire 5 k walk to get a bit away from the crowds.

As the cliché goes, pictures don’t do it justice. That holds true for the absolute marvel that is the Grand Canyon South Rim. Truly a breathtaking sight that is a must see in your lifetime. Our experience was very enjoyable especially since we visited on Public Lands Day. The shuttle system is convenient and very efficient. We were even able to find plenty of space to view the canyon by ourselves at many of the stops. There are also several rest areas, stores, restaurants, and a visitor center. A world wonder that is a must on your bucket list.

Grand Canyon is a major tourist attraction. Spectacular views, wonderful, courteous and very knowledgeable shuttle bus drivers.
However, a very unpleasant experience at the ticket counter happened when 6 of us were purchasing our entrance tickets that included the SKYWALK.
The advertised Grand Package Tour includes the Entrance Fee and Skywalk at $59.40 plus taxes. We decided to take it. However, when we compared the the final price on our receipts, there was a little difference in price even though it was just a small amount of $2.83
I asked why the difference and if the charge could be reversed. The staff who ran my credit card said that it cannot be done and that's final.
I clarified that we were all purchasing the same package and if it can be explained why there's a difference in price. She said that I took the individual pricing (which is not true) as follows:
Entrance: 41.00
Skywalk: 21.00
Total amount : 62.00 plus taxes
We came as a group but we used our individual credit cards for our tickets.
I was merely asking why the difference in price. Then, another staff showed up and he said ..."We can dictate any price we want" . WHOA! Furthermore, he said..."Take it or leave it" And that was the attitude we got.
It was a bit much. We were taken aback. He repeated..."Take it or leave it". And that's when I said that this is not the way to handle situations like this. He gave me a menacing look as if threatening me.
He told the guard (or maybe he might be a park ranger) to arrest me. And this guard was ready to do so.. The guard called the local cop(s) using his walkie talkie. For what? For questioning the price difference? And I told him to go ahead and arrest me. I was ready to see him in court.
One of my friends intervened and de-escalated the situation. No arrest. The manager showed up and refunded the difference.
Again, it's just a small amount. It was more of the principle.
Hopefully, they can re-train their staff to be more courteous when dealing with customers.

Grand Canyon is the beautiful attraction, however, you can observe but ppl can’t make pics for memory from your camera, you have to pay for 50 dollars to have photo.

Eric provides far more than the absolutely perfect spot to observe a glorious sunset from the south rim. He provides endless information about the history of the Grand Canyon from indigenous tribes to geographical and geological information. It was the highlight of our trip. We all enjoyed it please book this do not miss it

The Grand Canyon is awesome from any view but this side offers some unique hiking opportunities in a less commercialized area. The changing light over the canyon keeps one in awe. The quiet is deafening at times. Worth the trip!

We spent 2 days at Grand Canyon and it was amazing. Unbelievable Views! Many hikes. We did the Desert View Drive that is 25 miles and has many different stop with different views. Everyone should visit the Grand Canyon!

Grand Canyon Scenic Airlines: Day trip flew from Grand Canyon Airport to Page Arizona ( near Lake Powell and Glen Canyon Dam). Our Pilot was Captain Jack. He was excellent. His explanation of the beauty and views of the Grand Canyon and the Colorado River were enlightening and riveting. I would fly with him again.
Subsequent part of the trip included walking through Antelope Canyon. This unique and extraordinary part of day was beyond words. The power and beauty of nature must be seen here to be appreciated.
The next part of the trip involved a four hour raft trip down the Colorado River. Also exceptional.

Alfonso with Grand-Adventures was unbelievably knowledgeable and provided us with an incredible day of touring from founding of Las Vegas to development of Hoover Dam to Seligman, AZ and history of Route 66, to a spectacular walk at South Rim of Grand Canyon. A tremendous value and educationally exceptional!

What a super place. We drove from Los Angeles and stayed in Williams. Next early morning went to The Grand Canyon. We left around 7.30 or so and reached the entrance around 8.30 or so. I had already purchased the park ticket from Williams so at the entrance we were provided with a park map. We were lucky to find a parking spot as we were early. We covered the rim trail which was started from mather point and we walked to yavapai point. Got some lovely views. We then returned to take the blue shuttle to village center and transferred to red shuttle. This went up to hermits rest covering a few stops like maricopa, hopi and powell points. Then we transferred back to blue line and stopped at east plaza. There was a restaurant and hotel, and also a large grocery store. We went in the grocery and ate some pizza from the cafe there. We used the shuttle hop on and off whole day and were done with some short hikes and scenic viewpoints. Around 4.00 pm we drove on desert view road and went to see desert view tower. Entry to the tower is free but they allow entry to only 25 or 30 persons at a time due to fire safety standards. Stand in line and obtain the pass. People enter after every 20 minutes. Good views from there also. Around 5.30 or so we drove back to Williams. Overall an excellent place to visit.

We were staying just north of Phoenix. We left at 2:30in the AM and drove to the Grand Canyon (3h 15min) and made it just in time for Sunrise at Mathers Point. It was so worth it. Not a ton of people there and so amazingly beautiful. We then hiked the Canyon Rim trail to the El Tovar Hotel for breakfast and it was very good. We continued on the Canyon Rim after breakfast. We wanted to do the Hermits Red route but by about 10 am the park started filling up and the red bus stop line was very long. My tip for this would be to hike the 1/2 mile to the 2’d stop on the hermits route. We did that but still opted not to take the bus due to the crowds. We left about 11:30 and the line of cars to get in was 1/2 mile long. So my suggestion. Get up early. Be there at sunrise. Enjoy the quiet and wild life while you everyone else is sleeping and leave the park by lunch time.

The Grand Canyon was such an amazing sight to see. Such amazing views from the vantage points we had. It was simply breathtaking to see just how enormous the canyon is. We took a small bumpy plane from Las Vegas to get here, but it was truly worth the ride to get to this destination. I still believe the Grand Canyon is one of the Natural Wonders of the World.

Wow! Just wow! I was prepared to be underwhelmed. I mean it's just a big ditch, right? No, it is so much more impressive in size and color variation than I expected! Now I finally understand what all the hype is about! I also enjoyed the shopping opportunities along the south rim. The historic village and Desert View Tower both had shops with beautiful Native American art. They also had food at both of these stops but not much opportunity for food or restrooms between these two locations, so plan ahead!

The Grand Canyon is named "GRAND" for a good reason. It is simply put, Grand!!! 277 miles long and 18 miles wide. Make sure you wander around and use the tour buses to see the various viewpoints. Also, we suggest the Desert View Road to the East entrance.

Please STOP bringing dogs during hot months. We saw several people with their pets who had burned pads and sides from lying on hot surfaces. Touch surfaces with your hand and think of how this feels on their pads. We visited in late Sept and the temps were 108°F / 42°C and walking surfaces way hotter!
The Grand Canyon is majestic and awe inspiring. There are no bad views and every vantage holds something special.
I wish more people would whisper or be silent when taking in the views. Some are very loud and it can be disruptive to others wanting to take in sounds and sights.
The shuttle is great. Find a place to park and hop off at different points along the way. Last shuttle runs 1 hr after sunset so plan accordingly!
This was my first time back since Covid and the effects it had on the economy is still evident - at least in my experience. Ate at the deli by the Desert Watchtower but they seemed short staffed with only two people working.
Take your time in the canyon and really try to stay to foot paths - saw too many people including some toddlers bumbling around tripping over rocks and slipping on surfaces. It was unsettling. Remember the bulk of the trails do not have fencing so be smart and stay at least 6’ back from the edge.
Drink lots of fluids - water & electrolytes and plan accordingly for whatever adventure you are there to do. Too many people don’t give themselves enough time for their hike and are scrambling out of the canyon at midnight.
Radio Channel 102.5 will tell stories about the canyon etc but be prepared for a lot of commercials.
Fee is passenger vehicle admission is $35 for 7 days in the park and they only accept debit or credit. No cash, so this was a nuisance.

Words cannot describe how beautiful it is. It almost seems as if the scenery is painted. We hiked the outer rim both ways and hiked Bright Angel trail as well. Had phenomenal views from all 3.. If you feel like you've seen it and what's next? I highly encourage you to go to different spots along the rim as the views change significantly as you move along the rim.
Sunsets at the rim undescribable, the Elk are wondering about the village.....just a wonderful place to visit. We stayed 4 nights, lunchroom at the Maswick Lodge was a great find.

This was our first visit tot eh Gand Canyon. It was spectacular! All of our friends recommended the South Rim as it is less crowded and and we are very glad we choose to go here!

Incredible experience! Breathtaking views. I wanted to comment specifically on the rim trail. Reading the summary of the trail can be a little misleading. Yes some of it is paved but there are inclines and areas where you get quite close to the edge. Also sets of stairs to viewing areas which can be quite steep. I am a healthy mobile senior and it was not as easy as I thought. Also I have mild vertigo so I was glad to have my family to hold my hand through those tight areas. Walked as far as Hopi Point and then took the shuttle bus. The shuttles are a great option if you don’t feel up to the hike. A wonderful experience overall.

Stayed in Williams, AZ 3 nights. Visited south rim GC twice and Flagstaff once. Then off to Kanab, UT for 5 nights. Visited Bryce, Zion and north rim GC while there. Kanab was a great location for visiting surrounding areas. Lots to see and do!

Spectacular views of the Grand Canyon! Not much else to say. Easy access and plenty of great places to take pictures. Highly recommend!

We parked and took the orange shuttle.
The shuttles are free and comfortable, they run often and there is enough time to take a few photos at each panoramic point then go back up to the next one, or stay and take the next ones without rushing.
The view from the various panoramic points is breathtaking, although in my opinion for completeness it would also be necessary to take a flight over the grand canyon to get an overall view.
In some shuttle stopping points there are bathrooms and water fountains to fill water bottles or drink.

The GC is definitely one of the world wonders not to be missed. Photos may look nice, or even great, but they don’t inspire and excite the way your eyes interpret your emotions when actually being there.

Went on a couple hikes that were nice. Not too crowded in late May. At least half of the visitors are unable to use the trails as they are way overweight. A national crisis.

Always wanted to visit and was not disappointed. Lots of walks to be done with varying levels of difficulty. Could spend a week here seeing everything but one day is also enough

Beautiful place
Definitely worth seeing
The South Rim trail is an easy hike
You can go as far as you like
It’s level and gives grand views of the canyon

"WOW" - that was our reaction....we were stunned with the beauty - majesty and scale of the Grand Canyon.
Photos, movies and videos do not do justice to Nature's wonder.
Put this on your bucket list if not.

Where to begin... WOW!! Of course, pictures never do justice, and this was absolutely the case. The South Rim was the perfect destination for what we were looking for. Fantastic paved paths and look-out points. Miles! Plenty of spots to hike down into the canyon. Of course, there are guided tours and horse, etc. The South Rim has a bus system that picks up and drops off at many varying areas, including shopping and some hotels. It is free and runs often. Know where you want to go and what you want to see. The other rims are hours away and people were asking about it? There is a trail to take with the rock history and that was also great. An art museum along the way on one of the paths. See the canyon at all times of day. The colors and shading shift as the sun moves. Sunset is a must! Spend time exploring and take it all in. Hotels within the state park and right outside. Again, do your research. Weather and crowds would be key for what you are interested in. We purposely didn't want to go in summer months due to heat and crowds when school is out. This time was perfect for everything. The pass is $35 for 7 days. Absolutely spend a few days there to really enjoy and experience all of wonders the canyon has to offer.

We visited the South Rim of the Grand Canyon and stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge. The Lodge is right on the rim and the views are stunning. The parks shuttle bus service is free and worked seamlessly in late March. No crowds or line ups. Definitely a great time to visit.

the Grand Canyon is just awe inspiring; it is hard to craft a response to something so amazing; absolutely recommended

Definitely a spot you must get to in your lifetime. What an absolutely amazing display of natural beauty. Start the watchtower and look to your right, the mountain you see in the middle is the border of the reservation. To think of those who once lived throughout, the canyon is mind-boggling. Just watch out for the elk, especially when the females are feeding. Realize they are wild animals and coming up behind them is not wise as someone tried to do. If you don’t bother them, they won’t bother you!

We went there It was very hot but fun the views were great some people headed down where there was no railings i kind of got scared when a saw this animal behind but it looked cool i don't know what it is thou

It was nice to see once. Breath-taking views. It was really crowded when we were there, which makes it less enjoyable. Nicely maintained.

We were coming from Sedona, so we decided to take the East entrance. I highly recommend doing this as there was only one car ahead of us in line. However, all GPS programs simply refuse to send you there. No matter where you are, they insist on directing you to the south entrance. Ignore technology if you are coming from Sedona....Take 89A to 64 West. Be aware that the east entrance is not open 24 hours (opens at 10:00 a.m.). But you will be going against the crowds your whole drive through the park.
In March it was quite cold (30 degrees) so we wore hoodies in the car to pop out and see the views which were outstanding. Roads were great. Elk were plentiful. And I would recommend the bumper season of early spring in particular. There was still some snow on the ground and the high mountains on the way from Sedona were absolutely gorgeous.
The bathroom situation is not totally ideal. There aren't a lot that aren't Porta Potty type or vault toilets (yikes) and the Grand Canyon bathrooms at the Visitor Center/Mather Point are the coldest I have ever been in. The water is absolutely frigid and the blowers blow cold air. The kids finally insisted on hand sanitizer instead and I gave in.
By the way, fabulous gift shop!

What can you say about the Grand Canyon? It takes your breath away. Be prepared to walk a couple of miles so you can see how the light changes the colors. Keep ;your eyes open for deer and elk too.

Absolutely marvelous world wonder. But i cannot give 5 starts because my expectations were like "to take my breath away". It did not happen (like for example happened when i visited the Giza Pyramids or Phi-Phi island). Res assured this is an experience to do at least once in a lifetime.
I Suggest the day trip with the bus, the savor more all the insights given by the tour guides and have more time to capture every dingle moment.

What a beautiful sight to see. I only visited the south rim, but you could easily spend more time there exploring the village and some of the hiking trails.

The Grand Canyon near Phoenix is a natural wonder that left me awe-inspired. The sheer vastness of the canyon and the intricate layers of rock formations are truly breathtaking. Opting for a combination of South Rim viewpoints, like Mather Point and Yavapai Observation Station, provided a comprehensive and visually stunning experience. Consider taking a guided tour for deeper insights into the geological and cultural aspects. Sunset or sunrise visits offer magical lighting, enhancing the canyon's colors. The Grand Canyon's beauty is best appreciated by embracing multiple viewpoints and taking the time to absorb its grandeur. The parking fee is $35 but good for 7 days so scheduled time to return, it is impossible to see it all in 1 day. The South Rim is equipped with several shuttle routes taking you to different locations within the park. The Red route is the longest and busiest with 10 stops lasting approximately 80 minutes roundtrip if you do not hop off for a closer look. The Orange route is 6 stops including the Visitor Center and is about 60 minutes without getting off. The Blue route stops at all accommodations in the canyon including restaurants, grocery, and visitor center, and takes you to the Red route transfer. There is also a Blue line express direct to the Red route. The Purple route runs from the canyon to the neighbor village square Tusayan but this route is limited and runs only during the peak summer months. Bathrooms are located at the visitor center and at specific stops throughout the park but there are more like outhouses with no running water so hand sanitizer is provided. Dress warm and wear comfortable shoes with excellent grips especially if you are visiting after the summer months because it can get quite chilly and even have some snowfall.

Don’t miss this once in a lifetime experience- it will take your breath away. We were so glad we made the trip to visit the South Rim and see the beautiful Grand Canyon!

The Grand Canyon South Rim is absolutely breathtaking, offering stunning panoramic views, incredible hiking trails, and well-maintained facilities, making it a must-visit destination where you can witness mesmerising sunrises and sunsets, spot wildlife, and capture unforgettable moments.

we used the park's free shuttles to reach the starting point of our trail from Yavapaj to Yaki point (doable without too much effort) with magnificent views and panoramas to remember.
the return is recommended with shuttles...

Spectacular words can't describe. We had a hire car and parking not a problem. Shuttle buses also available. Make sure you take the red route. Also drove along the desert road. Went to see sunrise and sunset again worth doing. Pay entrance fee which lasts for 7 days. Plenty of toilets available. Visitor centre was closed which was a shame. We were there for two days which allows you to see everything.

We took a trip from Surprize Az to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon! This trip had everything on our way we went in a snow drift and was fulled out by a good guy that patrolled the roads. Thank goodness he came and we were on our way to the Canyon. W e had no idea how beautiful it was in the snow. We are from Fl and have seen it from the Vegas side but this side is breathtaking!

I knew the Grand Canyon was going to be a vision just from what I saw online but the walk down to the viewpoint... I was too stunned to speak it was spectacular and felt far from real! The colours, the history, everything! It really was amazing. I can't even describe how in awe I was of the views!
The drive around the canyon was absolutely immense and it was amazing to be able to see it all from different perspectives. Plus it's also interesting to see all the various ways people experience the canyon, some stay in the various lodges and others camp!
We went around during the day and then just before we left we got up for sunrise to go and see the canyon as the sun came up- which was also a spectacle :)
The Grand Canyon and all it has to offer is truly an experience that'll blow your mind...

Amazing experience.the south rim is very busy and it’s hard to get sitting spots in the shade but the views of course are spectacular. Very crowded parking area.

Walking away is the most magnificent luxury and the most splendid freedom in life, my snapchat @Sally_amiz.

The Grand Canyon is absolutely breathtaking, such a gorgeous site. We went with our 8 children ages 14, 11, 9, 4, 3, 2, 1 and 2 months old. We forgot our stroller (DONT FORGET THE STROLLER). It was January, we are from Show Low AZ so we were aware it would be cold and we were still freezing but we still had a great time. If you have little toddlers just know there's only about 200 feet of guard rails, the trails do not have any railing. Also be aware it is $35 to get in and they DO NOT accept cash anymore, I was not aware of this pulling up (I planned our trip in cash, I know, I know silly me this is a cashless world. Lesson learned). It was crowded but not too crowded and some lovely ladies from Japan took our family group picture for us. All of the kids thought it was beautiful and amazing, definitely recommend.

Amazing trip to see the Grand Canyon, photos really don't do the place any justice at all. Tour guids and driver were good fun very knowledgeable and helpful.
Only downside to the trip was the distance from Las Vegas, this made the whole experience a very long day. However the journey was definitely worth it.

November is a great time to visit. Few people, cooler weather for hiking and beautiful clear blue skies.

Amazing trip with outstanding views along South rim. Either drive or take the many free tour buses which stop in lots of locations along the 30 ish road route . Buy a week access ticket for £35 dollars at the entrance or tourist info spots. You can get a good experience over 2 days and see most of the south rim within this timescale

The bus ride from Vegas was extremely long. The first stop at Mathers Point Overlook was spectacular. The second stop was at the south rim. This also was beautiful. Our tour guide Fionna was amazing. She was very knowledgeable. She made the trip enjoyable with playing trivia along the way and putting on a movie to help the time pass on the bus.

Exercitation provide highly recommended good job good staff excellent service I am satisfied from him secure place good atmosphere

The grand canyon is a must see for everyone! It is so beautiful and you just can't understand the beauty and majesty of it unless you see it in person. We traveled in early August to the South Rim. Highly recommend getting an America the Beautiful Pass for cheaper access to the park (and others). We drove in about 9:30 am on a weekday and did not have to wait at all in line at the south entrance. Parking was not a problem at that time as well. The shuttles were wonderful - very easy to ride, air-conditioned, and came to the stops at regular intervals. The only one we had to wait for was the red route - but even that we only waited about half an hour at mid-day (when it is supposedly busiest). Access to restrooms and water is easy throughout the park. There is so much to see! The geology museum is worth a stop. Lots of gift shops located throughout the park.

It is simple to stay on the main road and in well-traveled regions, but try to venture out and see as much as you can. We witnessed a family of elk, including young and a bull with enormous antlers, as well as wild chipmunks, vultures, and reptiles. However, stay your distance and drink lots of water.

The panoramic scenery at the Grand Canyon was awesome! The guide from America West Detours , Mark H was great! He did a fantastic job.
Great views
Views are incredible and totally amazing. Trip was amazing and my family and I had a great time. Always wanted to visit here. And will definitely go back.
