Poor management and experience.
Came on a cold day, there were some hat lamps, but all out of gas.
Snow/ice was on the ground, nobody cleaned. We were in the freezing slush.
Buses and attention to customer comfort was not well thought of.
Every employee for himself. Some were pleasant and trying to make the most of it, some were not, just blaming mother nature or not communicating well.

Customers=cash cows.
Felt like in a tourist trap: good place, but had to pay to be here, had to pay to get what I thought I was going to get.
Example: going to first stop (which was underwhelming compared to second stop: Guano point), but funneled to the Skywalk, and realized our $150 did not allow for entry.
When we paid, we could not take pictures, but had to fork more to get pictures taken by photographers.
For lunch, could not get seated by window to observe scenery.
At souvenir shop, windows were blocked to avoid taking pictures through windows.

Safety low.
Guano point is great, but it would not be hard to implement some basic safeguards as at Eagle Point.
Nope, seems that the customer safety is not worth the expense.
Some basic warning signs letting you know to take "extreme caution".

Great place and view at Guano point.
Not sure worth the 5 h round trip from Vegas.
Value/experience could be worth the money if done right, but wrong on so many levels.
Felt like tourist cattle the whole time, kids could even feel it and voiced it.

We went in March early in the morning and thankfully didn't have to queue and it wasn't too busy. It was a must see thing that we wanted to do but unfortunately this company knows that everyone is willing to pay just to see it so it is expensive for a natural landscape. Do not pay to go on the skywalk as the 2nd drop off point of the shuttle bus has a lot better views and more space to walk around.
We took our own lunch to enjoy and so glad we did as not only was the cafe expensive but the queue was very slow.
If coming from Las Vegas just for a day trip unfortunately I think this is the only way to see the Grand Canyon but obviously it is still worth the visit

I don't recommend doing this visit.
You have to pay $99 plus tax. Only option . They call it a package deal. Not able to see anything Unless you pay 😔

Views are amazing. Beautiful scenery. Only down fall is that restaurants close at 5:30. Staff at the lookout spots could be a bit friendlier.

The views of the Canyon are wonderful, breathtaking. It's worth the trip from Las Vegas to the park.
HOWEVER, DON'T FORGET TO BRING A SNACK (food), there is only one restaurant that cannot serve the number of visitors.
There is water, soda, ice cream and some snacks ready at the entrance store.

Don't waste your money. It's a tourist trap to get your money. We got there in 2020 from a Vegas Trip. They are only money makers and they don't care about your experience at all. You are considered as live stock and nothing more. And don't waste your money at the Rim. We got there and it not worth it. They try to make you believe you can't bring your own Camera cause they don't want you to drop it in the the canyon but the reality is they only want you to pay 35$ a photo. They are not giving enough time to take a descent picture. They say "Next!" when the picture is taken with a poor quality and you have to follow the directions that bring you directly to the cashier.

What about the food tent outside. It was freezing et raining and they didn't want us under the tent and let us outside to the rain like animals with our food plate with nothing to protect us from the rain when eating their food.

Try to find a way to visit the Canyon another way but but not that way. They fool you telling you they want ton keep their lifestyle traditions but the fact is that they only want your money and their traditions are only a way to cheat you and make you pay. I always dreamed to visit the Grand Canyon, it was looking so majestic, but now the magic is gone. Shame on you Grand Canyon West

The skywalk was much shorter than I expected. The pretty red rocks are on the south side so I didn't see what I was expecting. I still enjoyed my trip

They have taken what should be a wonderful experience and made it mediocre to poor. It is way more expensive than it should be. They do not let you drive your own car. They funnel you through a gift shop to purchase tickets. Then it is on to the shuttles that are supposed to run every five minutes. It was almost an hour due to lack of shuttles and the long line waiting to get on the shuttle. Seriously, the shuttle service was terrible. Three shuttles filled up before I could get on. Sometimes you didn't see a shuttle for 20 minutes. So, the shuttles herd everyone to the first point which is nothing but a huge tourist trap. No option to skip it. If you try and skip it by getting on another shuttle to the guano point, guess what, more lines. It looked like about another hour wait. By the time I made it to guano point, I was hating life. Thank goodness they did not mess this one up. The Grand Canyon was beautiful here. Come to find out you drive to the third point which looked like a western town and had a couple trails to hike. I did not get to hike the trails since they had wasted so much of my time making me stand in lines. I was severely disappointed. If they had told me to start at the third point, I would have missed the huge crowds and got to explore the canyon myself.

Stick to the National Park. Don't waste your money.

We visited Gand Canyon West on the way from Flagstaff to Las Vegas. It's a long way off the main road but we hoped the Skywalk experience would be worth the drive and the price ($365 for a family of 4 including a meal). Sadly, it wasn't.

The Skywalk is short, at the end of a very long queue and is covered in a dirty, scratched protective film which ruins the view down through the glass. The views around, of the canyon are, as you'd expect, spectacular. But very the worse thing is (and this is not made clear until you've got to the end of the queue) is that you can't take cameras or any personal belongings out onto the Skywalk (they must be left in a locker in the building). If you want a photograph they you have to join another queue and pay an additional $65 for an official photographer to take your photo. There's no good reason for this other than to extort more money from people. The admission price is already high enough!

The meal was fine. Tasty and plentiful.

A very terrible experience. I was taking the shuttle bus from Eagle Point to the main entrance. Since I was standing near the middle door, I stepped off temporarily at the Gunna Point stop to make room for people getting off and waited by the door. To my surprise, the female driver spoke to me very rudely, insisting that I had to get off and rejoin the line at Gunna Point. I was genuinely shocked by her attitude. Encountering something like this during a trip was very disheartening. I do not recommend this attraction to international visitors like myself. Traveling all this way only to be yelled at is simply not worth it.

If you are looking for beauty and breathtaking views, go to the South Rim. Here at the West Rim is nothing but a primitive area with no grandeur. First the bus that takes you to the 3 viewpoints has painted windows that you can't take pictures out of. Next you are forced to go to the other two viewpoints, one of which requires a 10 minute hike to get to, the other is a primitive village. The Skywalk is located at the third viewpoint. You have to stand in a cattle line for 45 minutes before being allowed out on the Skywalk. You have to wear booties that everyone else has had on their feet. There are no cellphones/cameras allowed to take your own pictures. Instead, there are 3 or 4 camera people out there who will have you do goofy poses and then sell you the pictures. It is a long, long drive to the area and so not worth it!

First the good: The grand canyon is a 10/10 attraction for nature loving enthusiasts and I can't stress that enough. It is a natural marvel and if this is your only option to see it, you should take it. My 9 year old son and indoorsy wife loved the grand canyon. It's disappointing that the experience left additional feelings as well.

As stated, our trip to the Grand Canyon West left us both amazed by the natural beauty and disappointed by the experience provided by the Hualapai Tribe. Things were severely disorganized and at times had a kitchy quality often associated with the commercialized Niagara falls.(Though not nearly to that extent)

The skywalk, which comes at an exorbitant cost, was overshadowed by the stunning views at Guano Point, an attraction included in the base ticket (for 3 people about 15x more spendy than the North and south rim). It's regrettable that the Tribe's focus on profit seemed to overshadow the true purpose of enhancing visitors' experience.

What was particularly frustrating was the policy on photography on the skywalk. Instead of allowing visitors to capture their memories freely, the Tribe insists on charging an additional fee for photos. This left us feeling like we were being scalped at every turn, turning what should have been a joyful experience into one marred by blemishes.

While the Grand Canyon West undoubtedly has its merits, we can't help but feel that the Hualapai Tribe's approach to pricing and the overall visitor experience needs significant improvement. It is our hope that they reevaluate their practices and prioritize offering a more accessible and enjoyable visit for all.

Additionally, when faced with the option, choose the grand canyon that's managed by the national parks department. The feds are managing the space better than those who did before it.

There are so many issues I had with this experience. First, the drive out is off the main highway about an hour, you have to go through this sketchy town, cows are roaming free, seen 3 or 4 dead that had been hit by a car. That alone would ruin your vehicle. Second, the tickets are $52 a person just to get in!!! Not even including the “skywalk”. Not enough shuttles for the people, when you go into gift shop, no one greets you, you can stand at ticket counter and it’s like you’re not even there. Would never recommend and will tell everyone I know coming out here for vacation save your time and money!

By Jessica G |

We got there 15 minutes prior to the visitor's center opening. When they opened we went in and paid for our tickets at the desk. Our tickets did not print. The employee said nothing to us, left us standing there while she got another employee. After about 10 minutes a "manager" walked up and the 2nd employee told her what was going on, the "manager" muttered something and just walked off. Finally I asked what was going on, why they couldn't just make another transaction so we could get on our way. Several other people paid and got tickets from another computer. I was told they were trying to get a hold of IT to print our tickets. I asked if we were going to be compensated for our extended wait time since at that point we had been standing there for 20 minutes. The manager was extremely rude and told me they had not even been open that long. Obviously hospitality and customer service is not valued there. Not once was I offered an apology or explanation. I told her that I heard they had poor customer service and she then threatened to call security, which I welcomed. Finally while we were speaking to security our tickets printed. I have never encountered such rude management and poor customer service. The ticket scanners and bus driver were very kind. The view from Eagle Point was nice but once we saw the Skywalk we were so glad we did not pay for it. Views from Guano Point were spectacular and we almost had the place to ourselves. The West Rim fit in our route of travel otherwise we would have visited the national park. If you go, I think skipping the Skywalk still gives you beautiful views. Arrive early for less crowds. Tour busses start arriving at 9:30 and the visitor center was packed when we made our way out. And maybe buy tickets ahead of time to avoid hassle.

For me, it was one of those places you'd heard about, wasn't bothered either way, but you went in case you regretted not going.
Unfortunately GCW is a long drive from Vegas and was just a let-down.
We queued for the best part of an hour, when it was our turn to go onto the platform there was no internet so, although I'd already shown my ticket at the reception, I had to show it again before stepping out on the platform so we had to leave the queue and go outside and try to get a signal then download it, then go back (you are not told this when you arrive). We stepped on the platform and were told to wait before being assigned a photographer which we refused, so we went on ( the photo is really a digital photograph), the views that we saw weren't impressive, infact, personally had I known, I would have just bought a basic admission ticket and gone to Guano point which has the best views.
Pictures are from Guano point (you are not allowed to take your camera onto the platform

Having previously done the south rim travelling up flagstaff and then other areas like horse shoe bend in page I was looking forward to going back to the west rim. The last time I’d been there was nearly 25 years ago and I had fond memories….

Oh boy how things have changed. You can’t drive to the rim but have to park a couple of miles away… this wasn’t the issue. The issue is that as a family of 5 they were charging $280…no reduction for families, only a reduction if your children are really young and even then we saved…. $10…. I know wow - $53 plus taxes per person… $71 plus taxes per person if you add the skywalk - the whole experience should be a max of $25 per person.. for everything

The issue is you’ve driven all the way out (usually from Vegas) and like us having not done our research we didn’t realize it was a scam on cost - we were 50/50 on turning round but we’d driven the extra 70 miles or so from the Hoover dam so it would have been 140 miles wasted…

We queued for our tickets for nearly an hour (note that’s in February!!! Off season)… and took in the smell of the badly ventilated toilets. Once you get your tickets you then queue another 20 minutes to get the bus to eagle point - it’s all cordoned off except for the eyesore that is skywalk so you can’t see much and very hard to see the canyon properly - what used to be a great viewpoint is now a monstrosity - so many folks coming out of the skywalk saying ‘rip off’… then back to the bus queue for a 30 minute wait for the next bus to take you to guano point - though this has significantly better viewpoints and a nice walking vista

Then another long wait for the bus.. the buses are frequent but the queues generally so long you won’t get on the 1st bus and sometimes not the second bus either - you spend more time queuing for buses than you do seeing the views

We didn’t bother with any food/drinks - it felt like another scam

If you’ve seen south rim where you aren’t fleeced at all and and can drive right up to the vantage points with zero waiting times then choose this

It’s such a shame because the west rim views are stunning (at guano) but it’s a very deceptive and fleecing practice on how they are charging you and keeping you prisoner waiting waiting waiting!!….

The whole deceptive operation would have been far better if they just charged you the small fortune to drive up with parking at the vantage points - that way you wouldn’t waste so much time queuing for buses

It’s a great spectacle but best avoided

The sky point is absolutely a disappointment!! We could not bring our phones or cameras to take photos. Instead, we had to pay $25 for one photo of $65 for a group of photos. Very disappointed! They take you to the sky point and charge for these photos then the next stop is absolutely gorgeous and you are able to take photos on your own. So, definitely don’t pay the extra for the sky point skip this stop! Also, I’d you get there a little before 5:00 PM the restaurant is closed.

Absolutely beautiful scenery! No matter how many pictures you see you can never understand the sheer size of the Grand Canyon until you see it with your own eyes.

We did a day trip from Las Vegas to West Rim .

Expensive all-access tickets (USD 113.5 incld. taxes) - and this is the only kind of tickets available (plus packages that can be added on) at the Visitor Center.

Note, zip line is mentioned as a 'bonus' part of all-access, NOT guaranteed. Zip-line closes at 5 pm, so it is advisable to do earlier in the day. They also stop the zip line based on wind speeds/weather conditions - we reached the zip line office around 3 pm and after waiting for more than an hour, we were told that zip line was canceled for the day due to weather conditions. During the long waiting period, there was no proactive communication from the zip line staff - we had to keep checking the status. One of staff members repeatedly pushed us and other waiting ticket holders out of the AC cabin and into the 110 F heat, saying it is over crowded inside.(clearly not)

Also note that this ticket is advertised as one that comes with a $10 food voucher, but the minimum amount to be purchased per ticket/person is $20 (so need to pay a minimum of $10 per person) and 2 tickets cannot be combined (at least that's what we were advised at Guano point).

However the views at Guano Point compensated for everything and more. Worth the trip!

By Jamie C |

Not worth $100+ per person. Skywalk was full of photographers blocking the path. $45 for a photo. 2 hour wait for zipline. This place defines price gouging.

By Darlene S |

Huge waste of $$$! Overpriced skywalk tickets did not allow you to take personal camera or cell phone for pictures. Staff notified us at time of entry of this rule - NOT at time of ticket purchase. Family of 4 ended up paying over $400 Canadian with the conversion - would have preferred to have stayed in Vegas and had a nice dinner! We were on site less than 30 minutes which included waiting for the bus back to the ticket sales site - not worth the 2 hour plus drive from Vegas. DO NOT RECOMMEND

By Umut P |

Wonderful view at Guano Point. You don't need to see anything else. You can skip the Skywalk and I wouldn't recommend the Meal Ticket either. The South Rim is probably the better choice but the West Rim was enough. It's best to go there by car alone, it's a beautiful route from Vegas and is an experience.

By Russ H |

Beautiful views, but the price to get in is ridiculous. The All access pass is over $100 per person. There are many activities listed, but we never saw a zip line and we never used our meal voucher because we weren’t hungry.
The skywalk was pretty cool, but you’re not allowed to take your phones out there, you have to pay for photos.
Definitely not near enough value for the price.

By SANDRA H |

Loved every moment at Grand Canyon West - from the Skywalk experience to the Hualapai tacos. Joshua trees, scenic views, well- organized shuttles, and friendly staff made our day incredible! We drove from Las Vegas, and the beautiful geography on the drive, itself, was amazing.

By Kamilaspm |

Very beautiful place and that gives excellent photos. It is advised not to approach the edge of the abyss. The month of August/September is usually very hot and the place has little protection from the sun.

By AndreasZillig |

Admission Fee with Sky Walk is quite high but the adventure worth it. Then I also thought no cameras allowed on the Skywalk, only Fotos to pay for.... BUT the guy made some 10-15 nice shoots, we got electronically and 25USD 1 Foto or 5oUSD ALL Fotos I say it is very worthy to catch this memory forever!

By jodi g |

This is a missed opportunity. The views are stunning. However there was no hiking or walking at all. Long waits for the shuttle between stops. The staff was friendly. They could do so much. Add in some hikes. More on life of the local people. Even demonstrations.

By Giovanni C |

It costs less to take a helicopter ride. Only ticket at a cost of 99$ plus taxes, for a family it is a bloodletting. You can't do anything else. Waived

By 91dawnz |

this place is not worth it anymore I went when it first opened and it was fantastic now it all about money and if you choose to do the skywalk be prepared to stand in one spot to walk because you are no longer allowed to take your own pictures and the ones that are paying for pictures to be taken have preference and you cannot get around them

By BrittOnTheGo |

Absolutely appalled. After driving over 2.5 hours to the Grand Canyon West Rim, we were blindsided by a mandatory $110-per-person fee that went into effect 4 days ago. no option for basic entry, no warning signs, just a price tag slapped on a natural landmark. You’re not paying for the Skywalk or zipline individually anymore—it’s all bundled into one overpriced “experience” whether you want it or not.

Let’s be clear: this is not a National Park; it’s a privately operated site by the Hualapai Tribe, and they’ve turned one of the world’s most stunning natural features into a full-on theme park. You’re forced to pay for meals, merchandise credits, and activities many people may not even want, just for the right to stand near the rim and look out.

This is not conservation. This is exploitation. Visitors should be warned: this is no longer a spontaneous, affordable stop to enjoy nature—it’s a cash grab disguised as an “all-inclusive package.” Skip this stop unless you’re okay with being taken advantage of.

By I I |

This activity is nothing but a scheme. You pay $80+ just to enter the glass without a permission to do your own photos. But they will be happy to make them for you and sell it))
I do understand if you pay for at least something but not just for a view point. Once we arrived and see the price we literally turned away and left. Yes, it took two hours for us to get there but we were happy not to pay money for really nothing. We respect ourselves and there are a lot of other spots in Grand canyon that worse the more

By Hans-Joerg R |

For a short trip from Las Vegas and if you only have one day, the trip to Grand Canyon West is recommended. The view is really great. The only negative thing is the waiting time for the shuttle buses. The food supply is good. There are also souvenir shops.

By Dounia A |

Save your money. It doesn’t worth it
Yes the views are amazing but the staff is rude and It’s very expensive.

The line for the skywalk was very long (more than 1hr) and we couldn’t wait outside with our toddler under the sun ( it was around 100F) . The staff didn’t care for her safety so we just left.

By Heather |

This is closer to Las Vegas than the south rim, but the south rim is the national park entrance, and where you get you park passport book stamped, so keep that in mind. That said, Grand Canyon West has amazing views and is well worth a visit.

By ALMD |

We went during our vacation to Las Vegas, family of four. I decided to rent a car and drive from the hotel in Las Vegas to the west rim, it is an easy drive, fun, relaxed, of about 2 hours. I like it better this way because it is only you and your family on the car, you control your own time and stop wherever and whenever you want, not a bus full of people. During our way we stopped in some of the areas covered in snow to play and take some pictures. I paid for the full package including the entrance, the skywalk and the lunch. I recommend you to get the tickets online so you can skip the lines. Totally worth it. The pictures they take on the skywalk are beautiful, we paid all of them. We loved this place.
Tips: Buy the tickets online before, rent a car and drive there, no buses.

By Danielle |

Even though it’s nowhere to be found when buying tix online, NO cameras or mobile phones are allowed on the Skydeck, making it impossible to take pictures in the one place we wanted to. We were also looking forward to a Hualapai experience, but nothing. Plenty of set up to shop and spend money, but honestly this was such a disappointment. It’s a hoax. Time much better spent at South Rim or North.

By asv2026 |

This business (yes, it is a private business, it is not part of the national parks) is a joke. We paid over $250 in basic tickets for a family of four, waited in line for 3 hours for a 4 minute bus ride from the parking lot to the canyon. The employees will tell you they didn't expect such crowds. Well, who sold the tickets? Many, many frustrated customers.

If you want to cement a bad memory of the Grand Canyon, then you should visit this place

By ManoloPY79 |

We traveled from Las Vegas to the west side of the Grand Canyon but unfortunately we were not able to get close to the viewpoint since the weather turned ugly along the way. There was only 50% visibility so we decided to stay to eat and take photographs of the landscapes along the way, which are truly wonderful. The landscapes are majestic. We loved passing through the small town of Dolan Springs and appreciating the beautiful portraits that nature offered us along the way. Recommendation for this trip: first check the state of the weather.

By Ragini V |

Excellent service and breathtaking views! The costs were about $96 with meal and bus tour. It was a great experience. Thank ls!

By vikki d |

We enjoyed our visit and would recommend this experience for those contemplating it. Our advice is to not stay in Peach Springs though, that is a 100 mile out of your way trip since the only road to the skywalk is via Kingman or Las Vegas. If you are not coming from Vegas, we suggest you stay in Kingman hotel not Hualapai Lodge in Peach Springs. We thought that would be closer and we googled directions and found out when we registered in the Hualapai lodge in Peach Springs that those roads on google are impassible and that we had to backtrack (50 miles) to Kingman to get to the road for the skywalk. Stay in Kingman!

Regarding the venue, you cannot take a camera or phone on the skywalk and there are photographers that take your pictures, they are very good and the price while somewhat steep ($65 for a 15 pic package or $25 for one pic) they are worth it, you will not find anything else like it and the photographers are very personable.

You park at the ticket bldg, take a bus (one comes about every 15 minutes) to the skywalk, you show your ticket again and then walk the skywalk. Then you can take a shuttle bus to Guano Point and then back to the main bldg. It is well run, if you want to eat, restaurants at both points have a price fix menu of $21 per person. There are also picnic tables if you want to bring your own food.

By Estrellas y Michelines |

The truth is that what we saw in this place is really amazing, we loved it.
However many photos you can take, none reflect how amazing it is.

By Austin E |

For $110, Definitely feels like a money grab, included discount only works on souvenirs and only if you spend over $20. Zip line shuts down at 3:00 PM. Photographers on sky bridge pretty much push people out of the way to take pictures. Guano point does have a good view. But would recommend going on to the Main National Park.

By Andy C |

Got there for the setting sun. Hardly anyone was there so had the place almost to ourselves. It was stunning. Didn't do the Sky Glass walk as it was megga expensive and views at the next stop-off were amazing and you could get close to the edge, unlike at Sky Glass

By sethukanthiah m |

RIP off. Not worth for money. $66 per person for General Admission plus extra for sky walk per person plus extra for food plus extra for other rides plus extra …

By ALISON B |

We have visited this site several times & like everything else in the world Covid changed things. First off the price increased, $115 US ( 2 adults) for the bus ride to the viewing points. There used to be 3 stops, they have cut it down to two stops & you drive yourself to the third stop. So more money for less. We don’t even bother with the skywalk now, I don’t want their photos I want to take my own. There are not enough busses for the amount of people waiting. The gift shops also don’t sell the same items, so if you see something you like at the skywalk shop best get it as it is likely not at the main terminal shop. It used to be one our favourite drives when doing a Vegas trip but I would say this was our last trip out there.

By kzrae23 |

We went ziplining and did the skywalk! The zipline had a great view of the canyon! The best part was the stops on the shuttle ride though, the views at each spot, especially Guano Point, were amazing! Everyone was very friendly too!

By Jochen M |

So far I could only visit the Standard Grand Canyon and the western part was on the "path" in this case. From US93, it's a good 75 miles to the edge! So plan your time! Unfortunately, the NP Pass does not count here and the ticket cost 68 USD! We continued with the bus! There are two stops! The first one at the Skywalk! I was there in mid-November during the week and the line at Skywalk was incredible! After 15 minutes of not going a meter forward, I gave up and drove to the next stop! What's it like here in high season? But the second stop was great! The views are magnificent and the river can also be seen very well! Overall, however, I have to say that it is much too expensive here and not worth the money! There are just too many day tourists coming here from Las Vegas!

By Natalie |

The prices are a bit on the pricy side in our opinion. We paid $53 PER PERSON, making it in total $115 after tax. We got the general pass which gave us accsess to the the outside area of the sky walk (but not the sky walk itself) which had very limited views.
However, the Guano point had some amazing views which you get to experience with the general pass! Will drop some photos below:)

But in total we’d much rather recommend taking the trip further to the actual Grand Canyon National Park where you pay way less and really get the canyon vibes!:))

By T S |

Complete rip off. We couldn't go on the sky walk as it was closed. Paid over 300 dollars for a family of 5 to take a coach to the skywalk and not even able to see down into the canyon. We did the helicopter ride last time we were in Vegas and I would definitely recommend doing that rather then the west rim as you see so much more.

By ljinwood |

Rip off! Don't waste money on Skywalk unless you just want to say you did it. Photos were very poor quality because everyone is rushed through the money making machine.

By Jennifer A |

We had such a great time! From check in to ziplining as well as Learning new and fun facts from our tour guide. Would highly recommend this tour.

By Jason L |

This was a great tour. My wife and I were celebrating our 20th anniversary with a trip to Vegas. My wife had never been to the Canyon. The weather was the weirdest thing first it was extremely windy and second it was cold yes that is right…cold. The temps were in the 50’s and raining. It was freezing. Bobby our guide was great. He was very personable and funny. Layla was a great driver. The COD company was great. Caution ⚠️ though with going to western rim. It is tribal owned and they the Hualapai tribe hires some very unsafe shuttle bus drivers or at least one that overloaded the bus causing many people to stand and caused myself to get injured because of her unsafe driving or the bus jerking causing my arm to be hyper extended causing extreme pain when it happened. I was hoping it would go away after the ride home and my trying to stretch it but it did not. COD is not in anyway at fault for this and they can not control what the tribe does or who they hire. The lady driving the bus on October 18, 2024 during the hours of 11am-2:30pm should never be allowed to drive a passenger bus. I am wondering that since it is tribal land they do not have to have a license and pass a safety test in order to drive. Again Comedy on Deck is completely safe and 100% NOT responsible for the Hualapai tribe and what they do on their land.

Beautiful scenery. But extremely rude and aggressive security. Started screaming at us because we were like a couple feet too far back with our vehicle as we were just trying to get in our car and leave. Some of my group was pulling the car over to where we were so we could get in and leave. He could have just given us two seconds to hop in and go, or calmly asked us to pull up a little and not scream at us.
There was no call for him to act like that. There was no vehicles in the area we’re talking about. So it seems he must have just wanted someone to pick on. Thats certainly how he made some of us feel. Some in my group have bad PTSD. It was triggered by this bully.
So what was supposed to be their fun, once in a lifetime experience was ruined thanks to this security guy.Could have been handled way way better.
I honestly think the guy deserves disciplinary action of some sort because of the unproffesional way he treats paying visitors.

We bought our tickets on the streets of Las Vegas. The price was better than on the internet. On our Grand Canyon excursion, transportation, Arizona Joshua Tree Forest tour, Hoover Dam, snack and dinner ) either to the sky view restaurant or to the Guano Point restaurant with lots of hot meal choices) was provided. Our driver Robert was just fantastic: funny, friendly, comments all the way to the Grand Canyon. He teaches us many things in a humorous way. Everything has been great on this day. A beautiful day with our children aged 18 and 21 years. Thank you for the great memories we will have. I recommend 100% this company. And I hope you get the chance to go with Robert’s bus

We rented a car from Las Vegas to drive to Grand Canyon West. It’s on the Hualapai Native American Reservation. It was about a 3 hour drive each way, the drive in was beautiful and the Grand Canyon West was amazingly more beautiful!! You park in a central location the an inside bus takes you to a few viewing areas. We only did Eagle and Guano Point because the wind was so bad. We’d love to come back to visit the Hualapai authentic restaurant and do an overnight stay.

The skywalk is a great experience. You can look down into the canyon. Since the glass bottom is a bit milky, you can walk on it without any problems.
Some people's complaining that it's too expensive and that you're not allowed to take photos gets on my nerves. If you're too lazy to inform yourself beforehand, you should just keep your mouth shut.
The price also includes the shuttle bus.

By mamy |

The Eagle point really catches your eye with its canyon beauty, shaped like an eagle spreading its wings. I couldn't go in skywalk because I couldn't take pictures myself. I think it's enough not to go in. It costs nearly 10,000 yen for two people.
The next grano point on the bus is awesome. The view from the valley beauty from the road and the view from climbing various high ground are different, so please find the best position. Lunch chicen mashed potato with grsvy sauce is delicious.
The Viator tour offers Las Vegas Veraggio transfers and souvenirs, depending on the Grand Canyon as well as Hoover Dam and the lake.

The amount of money spent is not worth the service received. Wait in long wrapped line to purchase tickets $50/person and additional $19 to walk the rim. Very brief in answering any questions as moving people along like a cattle line. Went to restaurant waited at sign (wait to be seated) 15 minutes stepped in restaurant to ask & told to get behind yellow line. Hostess then came 3-4 minutes took party behind to a table came back told me you need to understand I’m 1 person working here & you need to stay behind the line. Asked to speak with manager explained was treated disrespectful. I understand if short staff however took other party ahead etc. managers response “Sorry to hear that happened to you “. Then explained 40 years in restaurant business I completely understand short staff, busy etc but no excuse to speak to customers that way. Again responded “yeah sorry that happened to you “ and walked away. Left restaurant left facility. Crime to pay $200 plus and received that customer service.

Here is my experience on grand canyon west
1) Too costly for a visit. It costs $76 per person for entry. For a family of 6, it costed us $450
2) No cameras or phones allowed. They will charge $75 additional just for pictures
3) Grand Canyon looks like the same as Badlands in south Dakota and it is free for visitors
4) weather is so hot around 114 F in September. So can't stay long outside

Overall 2/5 experience.

Drove 4 hours to go zipline at grand canyon, waited in line for more than 1 hour, when we finally got in - I was refused to use the zipline cause I don't weight enough, when in fact I do weigh enough. Everywhere online it is stated that you need to weigh between 90 and 275 pounds, I weight 110. So we wasted $230 as my husband didn’t want to zipline without me. We were refused a refund. Lady at the front desk was rude and not helpful. The prices are ridiculous and the place looks abandoned, would expect more from a place that charges money just to see nature which should be free.

By Snakedoc199 |

Disproportionate prices, parking then obligatory bus, very limited organization, the Skywalk being an option.
There, search at the entrance and prohibition to take a camera or a telephone.
The security guard to whom I ask how I can take photos, tells me that there are photographers.
Poorly made photos for $25 each, not even printed but to be downloaded via an application.
Total cost per person: approximately $100.
A scandal, and in my opinion, obvious theft, especially since nothing justifies either these prices or this system.
And I'm not yet talking about store prices.
A well-established business that will leave us with a bitter taste.

As has been previously mentioned, it is incredibly expensive for a bus transfer. Staff are ignorant rude and above unhelpful. The only interest they have would appear to be relieving one of one's tourist dollars. A great pity and such a come down for a once proud and dignified people.

By John O |

I agree with a previous reviewer that Skywalk is not worth the money or wait. Guano Point was great. Its something you do once in your life.

By Jane B |

This was a trip if a lifetime. We spent more money than we usually do, but it was worth it. We stayed in the cabins, and took the regular tour, and did the Skywalk. It was all well worth it. In particular Guano Point is incredible. We also deeply appreciated the cultural/historic displays and panels. Thank you to the Hualapai Nation for being such wonderful hosts.

By Emma S |

I visited as part of a coach so didn’t have to queue for the buses once inside. We also went in October which seems to be relatively quiet, but still loads of people. Other reviews comment on having to queue for buses and to pay for extra things like the skywalk. I think as long as you know in advance it’s not so bad. Your not allowed to take your phone or bag on to the skywalk, in case you drop it and crack the glass. So they give you a free locker and then you have the option to buy photos 25-65 dollars. The money goes back to the local community and it is what it is!

The first stop has lots of touristy stuff to buy, magnets, hats, t shirts, etc. the second stop had the locals selling jewellery. I big on supporting local so I bought two things from there.

The views were spectacular at both locations but guano point was my favourite! And the bbq food there too!

Real fraud!!!! Dont pay for this, bad experience and bad treatement for the office staff. We had to pay extra charges after pay 350$ fraud!!!!

By Jessica K |

We were so disappointed! The lines were so long for everything. Make sure you eat prior or you will be in line for a while. Then we had to wait forever to catch the bus. While waiting they let tours skip the lines. We felt it wasn’t worth the money at all and we wasted a lot of time just standing in line. Wouldn’t recommend at all!

We did the Grand Canyon national park 35$ for a weeks access. So stunning we decided to visit The Grand Canyon West. We drove 2/5 hours from Vegas. Well all I can say is they certainly worn masks just like Dick Turpin . We did the zip line, sky walk and general entrance 252.$ We were only allowed to do the small zip line, the big one was closed as no staff. It lasted 30 sec 78$ value not!!!! The skywalk achieved no better view than the rim at the side.No cameras, binoculars, bags allowed, on skyline. Walk through lasted 5 mins 52$. They can take photos and then charge you an extra 20$ per photo. The queue was massive to go to next location, not enough buses between locations. Waited 35mins in freezing conditions (under staffed again) I was so disappointed for us and all the people who went here. The experience at The National park out stripped the the west rim, on views and price. I would rather of gambled £250 on the roulette wheel and Ive never gambled in my life. We are in USA for three weeks and this has been the most expensive and most disappointing thing we have done. Hire a car drive the extra miles to Williams.. Grand Canyon National park it’s well worth it!!! The views on the way are amazing to .

By Nik |

All acess ticket is 120 $ regardless of what is availible.
We were a big group but zipline was closed and they were still chrarging it...

We will never come back!

EVERYTHING CHANGED FROM THE TICKET OFFICE TO THE ACTUAL SITE WHICH IS JUST A PARKING LOT WITH A SMALL BUILDING .... YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DRIVE YOUR CAR AS WE WERE LED TO BELIEVE .... MEN IN MILITARY FATIGUES AND WEAPONS EVERYWHERE .... I COULD WRITE A FEW MORE PARAGRAPHS .... HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE .... JUST DONT GO .... COMPLETE SCAM AND TOURIST TRAP

Stayed at the cabins 2 nights. BORING!
Absolutely nothing to do. 1 restaurant with only very limited 4 options all bad and $22 each. No breakfast before 9am or restaurant within 25 miles. No alcohol allowed or to be found except at eagle point and only 2 beers each allowed. Will never fo back. Over priced. Only good thing was the view from guano point or eagle point but that's a 2 hour visit. Otherwise not worth staying there!

By Arlete64 |

The place is incredible. Unfortunately, the indigenous administration leaves something to be desired, entry is expensive and the service offered is not adequate. Outside the glass walkway area, at other points, there is no supervision, guidance or security. There are reports of more than 10 deaths per year.

By ali p |

While there are certainly many breathtaking sights to behold in Grand Canyon National Park, my personal experience as a tourist left much to be desired. I found it to be an unfortunate disappointment, especially considering the hefty admission fee of $81.50. One of the major drawbacks was the lengthy wait in line, which often exceeded an hour, just to board an outdated bus. Furthermore, the transportation itself was far from satisfactory, as the skywalk—a popular attraction—proved to be underwhelming. It saddens me to say that the quality of the experience did not justify the exorbitant cost. Additionally, I was disheartened to discover that photography was strictly prohibited unless one was willing to pay a steep fee. The charges amounted to $50 for a mere six photographs, with an additional $25 for each file. This restrictive policy further detracted from the overall enjoyment of the visit. Given these circumstances, I would strongly advise against visiting this place and suggest prioritizing alternative destinations that offer a more rewarding experience.

By Camper34743713028 |

Not worth the price of admission.
If you want value for your money, this is not the place.
Service is missing, and lack of attraction. The drive to get there is the best part. Will not return.

By Stacie |

We bought tickets for general admission and a skywalk, no tours. We are 1500 miles from home and started having car issues. I emailed the place last night to ask for a refund. They said no because their policy is 24 hours for tours. We did not have a tour. They would offer us a new date. However, it’s not likely that we will be back in a year. Very dissatisfied with this. I would completely understand no refund for a tour as that is hard to get rebooked, but for general admission?! I can’t believe that would be hard to fill 4 spots.

By Thomas A |

way overpriced. about 60$ to get in. 30$ extra for skywalk. cannot take your phone or camera on skywalk which defeats the purpose. Have a tram u have to ride to three stops . Money grab. This area owned by a tribe and you pay accordingly. apparently Grand Canyon South is the way to go otherwise i would skip this altogether.

By aer830 |

A fun little place, with a faux old Western street. Our individual cabin was completely paneled, with a good closet and basic but comfortable bathroom. We had our own little porch. The restaurant was not really a restaurant, more like a basic cafeteria that catered to a tourist population; limited menu, closes at 5:15. There is a charming dude-ranch-style restaurant, however, about 10 miles away that the friendly hotel staff were happy to direct us to. We also signed up for the zip line that’s available — it was professionally run, we felt safe, and the experience was amazing!. The canyon was quite close, with a lovely view. I’d recommend this place!

By jmvett |

Went on private group tour. Poorly organized for arrivals and check in, no directional signage. Shuttles to different areas is efficient. Restaurant signage also lacking, and traffic flow in/out could be better. The view of the grand canyon though is SPECTACULARLY AMAZING!!! Expected to find more authentic Native American crafts and handmade items.

By Lauren S |

Not worth it. Drove all the way out into the boonies only to learn that it was $69 per person to do the skywalk and ride the shuttle bus (which is the only way to get there anyway). They do not allow you to bring your phone or camera to take pictures with or any other personal items. Professional pictures are offered on the skywalk for an additional cost. My boyfriend and I have seen the South and East rims of the Grand Canyon and they were beautiful. We did not bother paying to do the skywalk and certainly will not be back. 10/10 do NOT recommend.

By Ashesh S |

The skywalk is not worth it at all, neither the eagle point. However, the gualaa point is great and free too! Moreover, you have better views from this point and the free shuttle takes you here.

By Breanna R |

It was a little pricey at ~50 dollars per person plus it was additional for zip line and the skywalk. We definitely spent more time at the second stop, better views and more to see. Most of our party agree that the skywalk wasn’t really worth the money as you couldn’t take phones or cameras with you. You had to purchase those also.

By Maria S |

We went to Grand Canyon West, purchased the ticket for 113$ (with tax) directly from their counter, the ticket includes 3 stops, 2 of them being the view points, which is accessible by bus and the last one, which is the zipline, that has to be done by the ones interested, no shuttle provided, you go with your own car. Definitely is a beautiful experience to visit such a wonder, but the price for the ticket is way to high. It should not include the zipline, that should be paid separately by the ones who want to do it, many people are even scared to go for it.

Boy, was this a whirlwind of a trip. Please read the whole review, though!

TL;DR: Admission is really steep. I thought we fell into a tourist trap and we kind of did. Skywalk is not worth the admission and you aren't even allowed to take pictures from it. IT IS OKAY--GUANO POINT IS AMAZING AND TOTALLY REDEEMS THE TRIP!

Arrival: We pulled up to the gate and I was immediately skeptical because we're at a wonder of the natural world that you can see from space but you still have to pay admission and ride a shuttle bus? Okay. We get inside and hadn't done any research so we were blindsided by the prices. $50+ for general admission and $75/each if you want to include the skywalk? Ouch, but okay, you only live once. After we paid, we immediately see the sign they don't have prior to that point. "No personal belongings allowed on the skywalk." Are you kidding? I paid $75 and I can't even take pictures? Immediate bad taste in the mouth as we head outside to wait for a shuttle bus. At this point, I'm on Trip Advisor and reading the worst reviews about it being a tourist trap and a scam and I'm only getting more irritated. The bus take 15 minutes to arrive and we are crammed in like sardines so we can head off to...

EAGLE POINT: Your first great glimpse of the canyon, but it's all roped off and you can't get super close. Pretty cool, I guess. Security is screaming with a bullhorn at anyone who crosses the rope trying to get a decent look or photo. We spend about 10 minutes here and head up to...

THE SKYWALK: You go in and they punch your tickets again and put all your belongings in a locker and put on booties as to not scratch up the skywalk floor--Actually smart to protect the view through the floor. We go out and the view is pretty darn cool and the glass floor gimmick is alright. We're trying to soak it in for 30 seconds at the furthrst point and one of the attraction photographer girls asks us to move so she can take pictures of a couple who paid even more than we already had. Wow, okay, that's insulting. We paid $75 to be here and are STILL getting bumped out of the way for people paying even more money. I'm just irritated now. We finish up pretty quick, retrieved our items, and it funnels you back through a gift shop where we both would have probably spent more time and money if we weren't so burned up about it already. Waited about 7 minutes for the next shuttle to haul us to...

GUANO POINT: At this point, my expectations were shot. We had drove through the desert for hours just to get ripped off by the natives. We hop off the bus and--WOW. This was amazing. No ropes, minimal signage, and 100% access to the canyon. All the photos we could ever want, breathtaking views. Stunning and natural, the canyon visit I wanted all along. No roped areas, sidewalks, advertisements, or anyone trying to sell me an upcharge. It's a huge area, so even though there were many people, it was a very personal experience with nature, and it was phenomenal. It was open to the point that I was surprised because of the potential danger if you aren't careful, but that's 100% what we wanted. I can't overstate how quickly Grand Canyon West redeemed itself by doing nothing but granting me the unfettered access to the canyon's natural beauty I wanted.

Conclusion: We were so overwhelmed on the bus trip back to the main gate. The second stop of the bus trip redeemed what I had been sure would be a total waste of my time and money. In conclusion, my best advise would be to skip the skywalk, don't even get off the bus at Eagle Point, and go straight for the sweeping wraparound spectacle of Guano Point. If the whole trip had been $50 and one ride to Guano, I would've given this a 10/5 star review. The irritation I felt for the first 2/3 of our experience lost the 5th star in what should just be an automatic home run 5-star attraction.

So today we decided to cross another bucket list item off our list. We went with friends to the west rim of the Grand Canyon. You have to park In a large area and be bussed to the location. Upon arriving we read a sign saying no cellphones, cameras, purses or any other personal belongings were permitted on the sky walk. Odd we thought and figured we would get more details at the ticket counter. Must say they certainly were not a very friendly group.
We decide to get the grand package, $69 for which included walking out on the skywalk. Okay so to purchase alone for the sky walk was $26, what was the other funds for? Entrance fee, the seven minute bus ride?..
The view was stunning. The skywalk was a rip off. They make you put all your belongings in a locker and then you have to walk through a metal detector. We asked why we couldn’t bring a phone and we’re told it’s so we don’t drop it on the glass! Really??? if that’s the concern you need to reconsider the type of glass used. Nope that’s not it at all. They have photographers out there to take pictures for you. 8 pictures for $50. What a rip off. Then while I am trying to walk the around the sky walk these photographers are having people lay around on the glass, sit in the middle of the walking area making it extremely difficult for others to get around.
While the skywalk is a work of art as far as construction goes it is literally a waste of time, also way smaller than pictures make it look.
We do hear the south rim has walking trails and more to do, so for anyone visiting go to the south rim.
Would not recommend the west rim or the skywalk to any family or friends.

Bought bus tour tickets along with 20 other people. Bus drivers including the bus supervisor refused to take any other tours out. Customer service at tour counter did not want to deal with 25 angry customers so closed down the counter pawning off to other employees only to be forced to “deal” with the problem. No apologies. Absolutely the worst customer service ever. Find another tour to take, apparently they don’t care about customer service here.

By Greg L |

Our second visit here. Previously the operators of the canyon sites and related food and beverage services provided a customer focused experience. This time it was all about providing the minimum experience and gaining the maximum profit. God did his part in providing the phenomenal canyon. Unfortunately the folks running the operations don’t have a clue about recognizing needed process improvements to make the experience memorable for the visitors.

By Travelling Pixie |

Visited as part of a helicopter tour into the canyon so cannot comment on the price or ticketing.
However once at the park you hop on a bus to visit one of two sites - Eagle Rock, the site is nice however do not waste your time or money on the skywalk, it doesn't take you out much further than you are already stood, plus there is usually a line up (took us about 20mins) and then you can't take your own photos.
The second stop - Guano Point, is a lot better and more the classic view you were hoping for at the Grand Canyon. There is a small canteen here for ice creams and drinks and toilets.
The bus drivers are very informative and fun, however they do of course mention tips!
There is a third stop however this is a different bus service, or you drive, which we did not have time for on our tour.
Was a wonderful day out however I if I were to visit the area again, I would head to the South Rim.

By Lee U |

Skywalk is long wait for a photo opportunity that they stage and you can’t bring your own phone. Skip it. Restaurant isn’t any better. Spend the extra time and go to the Grand Canyon park ran by the Parks Services.

By James W |

Came on April 6. Cold! It was barely 60° . General admission is $52 . The skywalk + general admission is around $74. The first stop is fenced off so not close to edge. You can barely see the Colorado River. 2nd stop isn’t fenced off but it’s not a complete view of canyon. Skywalk was cool because you can see thru glass. Felt like everything is overpriced. I hope it’s mostly going towards the reservation.

By AutumnCole |

Complete and total rip off, you can't get anywhere NEAR the Grand Canyon without paying these people and they are rude and hateful when you try to ask questions about the cost and what you're actually going to get. This fee is simply to get a SHUTTLE RIDE to the Grand Canyon, nothing more!!! Absolutely ridiculous and they have you over a freaking barrel after you have driven an hour from civilization, but I absolutely refused to pay this money for something that God created and these people are holding hostage!

I contact the coordinator of Grand Canyon West in October 2023 and wanted to set up a way to have my short vows said and performed at Grand Canyon West. Immediately I was contacted by phone and was helped. With all the updates and emails and changes the coordinator kept up and found ways to make what I wanted happen. The day of arrival my private shuttle was 2 hours late however my Helicopter showed up on time. The photographer showed up, made my almost ruined wedding day, saved. I highly recommend Grand Canyon West! Everything was amazing down to the great bus hop on, hop off shuttle drivers. The photos turned out amazing even with the rush of time of 30 minutes (that should've have been longer but ruined by outside events). I can not stress enough how simply amazing this company is. Highly suggest to have your events here or just simple visit.

By Reza E |

This place is a total scam. Don’t waste your money. They will charge you more than $50 per person for nothing. No meaningful service is provided.

These people have blocked access to a piece of nature and they charge you for taking you there in a bus. There is paved road everywhere so the whole shuttle system is a fake job. On the bus we had to stay standing because there was no enough seating. When we arrived, we had to wait in lines for more than an hour to see the deep canyon.

They have made a glass ledge over the canyon. That is the only place from which you can see all the way down. They charge you another $15 for that. Then they make you put everything in lockers before going there. Phones, cameras, even bioculars. Then they take pictures of you to sell them to you for even more money. Can’t imagine how pathetic and shameless these people are who strip you of basic things and then sell them back to you for crazy money.

To give you a sense of the insanity, just for comparison, a whole year of acess to all the national parks of the US costs only $80 per vehicle! Here you pay at least $50 per person for just one canyon!!! What’s more? they have put up tip baskets everywhere as well!

Instead of celebrating and promoting the Native American culture and lifestyle for visitors, charging money for what people could’ve already done by themselves (taking pictures, driving up to the canyon, bringing food), they only create bad atitudes towards themselves.

Finally, I’ll name a few attractions nearby that not only are more beautiful than this place, but treat you with more dignity and respect and charge you for meaningful services they provide:

Bryce Canyon National Park
Glen Canyon National Park
Horseshoe Bend
Grand Canyon National Park
Monument Valley
Antelope Canyon

A great time-we went and just did the general admission pass. If you are not interested in the skywalk, the second stop will be all you need.
Guano Point has the views of the Grand Canyon you are seeking, just be careful of your footing as there are no fences or guardrails.
Search around the rocks for a way up and you will find breathtaking views. The tribe is friendly and worth supporting.
My only issue is the lack of signage. People are confused, and there are very few signs to guide them at various points. It’s not a big deal but a little one that could be easily solved with just a few more informative signage.
Wonderful people, it is a great idea to visit here and support the tribe and see the views.

By Claire F |

The Grand Canyon from the west rim is breathtaking, there is no doubt about that. Have to agree with the other reviewers though about the skywalk. Just be honest with people if you don’t want your visitors to feel scammed. We waited almost two hours in line to go on to the skywalk to only find out just before entering that you cannot take your own photographs. The queue is purely for the pleasure of paying $65 MORE for their photographers to take your photograph. This was ridiculous as then everyone on the skywalk was just being posed by the “official” photographers instead of taking in the view. Such a shame. Queues were very badly managed with elderly people having nowhere to sit down and some areas uncovered outside in 37 degree heat. Like I said just be honest with people as it leaves people feeling like they’ve been taken for a ride…

By Joanne M |

This side of the Grand Canyon offers quite a different view that the other locations. It is Indian owned and operated. It is here where you can experience the Skywalk and tickets can be purchased on line.

By 339Aly |

Some of the views were spectacular so if you want to see the GC on a day trip, go for it. If you’re touring onto the National park then avoid it. We felt like the whole place was on the take. The guy at reception at the start was so dismissive and unfriendly. We waited for ages and ages for shuttle buses in the heat. Then we stood in line for ages and ages for the skywalk only to be told we couldn’t bring our phones/cameras so they could charge us for photos they took instead. We declined. Food was awful. But the views and Canyon - wonderful!

By 94Tarheel |

Sadly, we were unable to make our ticketed visit due to trouble with our rental car on the way, which left us stranded in the desert and forced us to return to Las Vegas for assistance after calling for a tow truck.

Given the high admission price at Grand Canyon West, I reached out multiple times to ask about rescheduling for another day during our trip. I understood we were within the 48-hour no-cancellation window and wasn’t requesting a refund, only a change if possible. Unfortunately, none of my calls or messages were returned.

Be aware that customer service may be difficult to reach if unexpected issues arise.

By Darren H |

Ignore the overpriced reviews. We found this incredibly good value. Just the zip wire alone is $50 in downtown vegas which is 1/4 of the length.
The shuttle buses between sites were quick clean and informative. Views are spectacular. Only negative is there is non health and safety. If you aren’t too careful and mess around there is nothing to stop you plummeting down the Csnyon.

By Anthony R |

The view was good, but you could not take your own pictures on the Skyview. For the price you should be able to take pictures.

By ALLEN J |

The whole trip was a wait for late attendants, then rush to attraction. Stand in lines for an overbooked and poor planned money grabbing attraction. The lunch which was included in ticket price, turned out to be a 90 minute line wait to be told they were out of the barbecue and multiple drink options. Had to eat said lunch while standing in line to get on next bus back to the main bus that originally brought us. The line waits made the third part of package impossible to attain and upset everyone involved. Will not recommend this trip to anyone!!! You are only a number and cash in a broken attraction!!!

By middleparkers |

Amazing views and easy to find from vegas. The bus that took us from the car park to the sights was easy to negotiate, but the one thing I was disappointed in was the souvenirs. I was hoping to buy some traditional Indian jewellery, but it appeared to be stuff you could get off amazon . Some idiots probably forctheir Instagram pictures were really chancing it right on the edges of the mountains and had to be told to move back the mindset of some is incredible...

By chazmcpheeney |

Part of this is on me. I should have researched more. However, if you are reading this thinking the Grand Canyon National Park and Grand Canyon West is the same thing, that just isn’t the case. ‘Grand Canyon West’ is merely a brand and the definition of a tourist trap. You arrive by car or tour bus or what have you after an hour drive from ANYTHING else. So you are at their mercy for everything (unless you bring it yourself). Your options are then to pay $50 bucks per person to get through the gate. Once through the gate, prepare to wait for a bus. This is a city bus. This bus will take you to two spots where the Grand Canyon can be seen. Food? Not much to speak of and very expensive. Plenty of other opportunities is buy additional experiences, but we didn’t and I’m glad of if. If natural splendor is what you are after, skip this. The view is great, but the time/hassle/expense isn’t worth it.

By Ange A |

Passing through Las Vegas, Grand Canyon West was our best solution to make a passage through the Grand Canyon (2h drive from Vegas)
We had taken our information before we went on vacation so we knew the price was much more expensive than the North or South entrances to the grand canyon.
Here, "private" reservation you will need to count 55$ per person. We made the tour in 2:30.

Free parking, access to two viewpoints.
Each access is connected by a shuttle that is included in the entrance ticket.

Beautiful views, breathtaking.
We do not regret our day at all.

However if you have the option to do the other parts North or South it will cost much less.

I recommend grand canyon west if and only if you are caught up in time like us.

It's a super beautiful place takes you to the cowboy movies, I went in December 2020 and very cold at sunset I recommend to go well warm, I went from Las Vegas by private car reowing the tours I've been told are very good, actually going by private car is quite far from Las Vegas

By Oriel R |

We drove from Vegas, the drive was gorgeous, and it took approx 2 hours with no traffic. We purchased tickets online, so we went straight through however the shuttles only come once every 20 minutes, and as we couldn't get into the first bus, we had to wait about 40 minutes. The first stop they take you to is Eagle Point, which has some nice views and is where the Skywalk is. We paid to go on the Skywalk however we were let down by the fact we couldn't take our own pictures, and if we wanted pictures taken of us, we had to pay $25 per picture or $65 for 15 pictures. Thankfully we didn't get pictures taken of us as when we went to the next stop - Guano Point the views were far superior, and we could take pictures ourselves.
Unfortunately we didn't have a chance to go on the zipping as they closed at 4pm.
Was a great experience to see this part of the grand canyon and would recommend to go and see however don't fall into the trap of paying for pictures as that's why they first take you to eagle point and wait to go to Guano point where you can take your own pictures unless you specifically want the touris picture on the Skywalk.

We arrived for the helicopter and pontoon tours. Our tickets were scanned and we were told to sit down for the safety briefing. The man began the presentation and when he got to the part about the safety for the pontoon, he said that we didn't need to know about it. I questioned him as to why not and he proceeded to tell us that it was not operating at the time. Apparently it had been down since early May and no one had told us until this time. We started asking questions and the lady at the counter answered them but didn't do it in a private manner. The other guests seemed annoyed by the questions but we really had no idea why we had paid so much money and weren't getting what we had paid for. We were then told to go to the counter where we were forced to sign a waiver. If we didn't sign it, we didn't get to fly. My two teenage boys had been looking forward to this for weeks and we had driven 4 hours to get there. We were told that we would be allowed to walk in the canyon floor since we couldn't do the pontoon. Woopie. We would've had to walk to the pontoon so what was the difference? We had worn water shoes and swimsuits as previous reviews stated that people had been swimming. We were not prepared to "walk the canyon floor."
Once we landed, my boys sat at a table in the shade and were bored. We waited for the 15 minutes to return. Very disappointed.
I emailed the reservation people and after several exchanges, I was informed because "my ticket was scanned" they couldn't do anything. Seriously?!?! What was I suppose to do? Disappoint my children even more and not do at least the helicopter ride? I believe I should get some of the money back for half of the tour missing. (The pontoon boat was expected to be in service the following week. Not sure if it is true but who knows what else will be out of service when you arrive.)
After leaving the West rim, we went to the south rim and there were helicopter rides there. I wish we would've saved the money and did those instead. Buyer beware

Not dog friendly!! We were told that we would have to kennel dogs (there, of course, so they can make more money) in order to take the tour. No free walking around, we couldn’t even drive to the restaurant they told us we had to park and take the shuttle. Prices for tour is $50 without skywalk, rip-off. Don’t waste your money, go to the south Grand Canyon

By travelcouple12 |

Great trip from Las Vegas. About a 2.5 hour drive and a great view of the Grand Canyon. The entrance fee of €53 per person is completely excessive. On top of that, you are not allowed to drive your own car, but have to take shuttle buses.

By Magda B |

Service horrible. Lady in the cash desk didnt tel me truth about price tickets- why is see difference on website. After all we checked, that different in desk and website is over 18$ per person! She didnt give money back and was very unpleasent.

By Mimi |

Firstly, the Grand Canyon West was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING/AMAZING!!! What was absolutely NOT AMAZING WAS THE $99 usd PER PERSON for the entry ticket (which was around $420 Canadian)!!!!!!!!! NO other options but an all inclusive ticket including the skywalk (which we did NOT want to do). The young lady selling the tickets was rude. I asked if there was any other way to save or buy a ticket and she said no (afterwards saw that you could save 20% online). After renting a car for $200, driving 2.5 hours 1 way from Las Vegas, we felt really taken advantage of by the Hualapai band that owns only the West side. When we searched entry fee online a per vehicle charge came up of $30 usd per vehicle for 7 days, guess that is only the south rim. When we looked at tours with Viator and Get Your Guide, they included lunch and a stop at the Hoover Dam for $120, just not the skywalk. For a full day tour, not just 1 entry ticket!! The prices at the gift shop and restaurants were ridiculous, absolute price gouging. They gave a $10 coupon off gifts or food with the entry ticket, if you spent $20 first (of very over inflated prices). Obviously a profit has to be made to run and maintain the Canyon, but just counting the visitors there that day it's an incredible amount of money coming in off that kind of ticket price per person. CANYON ITSELF WAS A DREAM, shuttle drivers were kind and humorous! Concession was very disorganized, out of all hot foods except for mashed potatoes/gravy (which were yummy), only cash as debit system failed, huge lines, and very poor signage or communication. We were still glad we got to finally experience the Grand Canyon, and it was our fault for not better researching this entry fee extreme but we were very caught off guard by this.

By ValĂŠrie E |

The views are amazing but do NOT do any activity there. The skywalk is very expensive and not so impressive. And you cannot take your camera or phone, why? Because there are photographs taking pictures that they sell very expensive and really bad pictures. This is really a rip off and very dissapointing

By Giada.3 |

I wouldn't recommend visiting the West rim, I wouldn't go back. the other north and south sides are certainly more interesting even if I haven't been there. On the West Rim the Indians who manage the reserve do so only for profit, they offer neither an experience nor services to those who come there, you pay for everything and more than the other sides of the canyon. The panoramic points are nothing special, there is the structure of a sort of cable car which was supposed to take you to the bottom of the canyon but is unused, accessing the bottom should be a service which, given the amount of money spent and the amount of tourists, should exist. Furthermore, there are no walks that give you a view from inside the canyon, you always remain on the edge. Very bad

By Shanika S |

View was good but they promised 3 stops only did 2. When I asked why they didn’t do the last stop I was told it was just a restaurant but I paid for 3 stops. Not sure I would recommend if you’re paying for something and not getting what you paid for

By Noeliz D |

I do not recommend this tour at all! I specifically asked the representative if a discount for resident existed and since this appear to be on the expensive side and she said no. I then check the site and found a 10% discount for Nevada resident. I then emailed the customer service and was told told they could not reimburse me because their sales are final and their reps are trained.

Please note it was a very busy day and the person that assisted me usually works at a gift shop and wasn’t used to selling the packages hence why she didn’t even know if a discount existed, nor explained what the following steps were.

I was ripped off and do not recommend this at all! Usually when a rep makes a mistake you receive an apology and reimbursement of the money owe, and these people were not apologetic nor understanding so I will not recommend.

I’m addition to the above we had to wait 2-3 hours in extreme heat conditions to enter the skywalk which was too much if you ask me with a price tag of 80/ per person.

Grand Canyon West Review

We booked accommodation near Grand Canyon West without realising it was a private area designed purely to extract as much money as possible from tourists.

The entry fee was an eye-watering $72 USD per person, which offers significantly less than the $35 car fee for the national park. This quickly adds up if you’re travelling in a group.

The entire area is restricted, requiring you to take their buses to the two viewing locations. This setup seems designed to prevent you from exploring independently and forces you into spending more. Buses are infrequent, and you’ll find yourself standing in long lines multiple times throughout your visit.

Access to the Skywalk is included, but it’s another opportunity for them to charge you more. Phones and personal belongings are confiscated so they can sell you overpriced photos taken by their staff. The whole experience feels exploitative, and the long waits continue here as well.

While the views are, of course, spectacular, the overall experience left a bad taste. The constant gouging overshadowed the natural beauty and made me resent the visit, which is sad considering how incredible the Grand Canyon truly is.

My advice? Avoid Grand Canyon West and head to the national park instead. You’ll have the freedom to explore at your own pace and truly appreciate this natural wonder without feeling taken advantage of.

Absolutely stunning views rescue this trip, but the Hualupai milk their monopoly mercilessly and stupidly. It should be easy to put on enough buses to minimise queues, but they don’t, so you can stand for ages in the heat, and the whole layout of the operation, particularly at the entry station, seems designed to herd the unsuspecting traveller to a point of no return. After that, every stage is either closed, or offers terrible food and expensive drinks, served by people who apparently wish they weren’t there. The whole place seems to be an employment scheme for the few Hualupai who lack the gumption to leave the reservation. It could be amazing, and it really is unmissable, but my goodness they try to ruin it for you. More than anything, they need to pretend they have some competition and start trying a bit harder: they could treble their throughput and keep everyone happy. Don’t hold your breath.

Still, at least my daughters now understand why monopolies are bad.

I don't typically write reviews, but I thought this place warranted one. Reading the reviews, I was uncertain of what to do, because there are many positive and many negative reviews, and it turns out...they are all correct. This site is not a part of the national parks, it is owned by the Hualapai Tribe. You park at the check in site, and a bus takes you to the view points. First, the negatives...it's expensive (about $50/per person without the glass walkway over the canyon and about $70 with the glass walkway over the canyon). Although the view is great even if you don't do the walkway. Also, ON the glass walkway over the canyon, phones/cameras are not allowed. The have photographers who will takes multiple photos. You get one for $25 or all of them for $50. Everywhere else, phones/cameras ARE allowed and you can get great photos. So that's the negative. If you can accept those limitations, and just bite the bullet on the high cost, the actual views are amazing. There are multiple photo spots on the paid tour, Grand Canyon West with the glass bridge/walkway and Guano point, and both are great.

By Marc M |

Reachable in 2.5 hours from Vegas and perfectly sufficient to get an impression of the canyon!

Arrival by own car is relaxed! Enough parking on site!

Admission 70€ including Skywalk!
You can't just buy pure admission!
Entrance + Skywalk or Entrance + Food!

So I did the Skywalk and it's not worth it! You queue, you can't take your own pictures anyway. And you only have one view!

BUT: you can stay in the shuttle from the parking lot and drive through to Guano Point.
And it's completely worth it!
Different views. You can still climb a hill and then have a 360 degree panorama!
The money was completely worth it!

Those who want can then drive their own car to the third point, which is theoretically already on the approach, but you will not be allowed in without a ticket!

If you want to say you saw the "Grand Canyon" and wait in line for to ride buses, the West Rim will suffice. If you really want to experience the Grand Canyon go to the South Rim. It gives you a much better perspective of it's size and it's free. I can not speak about North Rim. The zipline at the West Rim is awful. I have never been to zipline before and only got one ride. One hour "tour" and you get one zipline for $30.

By Lana M |

This is the Absolutely Worst way to see the Grand Canyon. It costs $300 for a family of 4 to stand in numerous never-ending lines just to get a glimpse. Everything besides the skywalk is roped/fenced, so that you really see anything until you spend over an hour in lines to see what you can see from every other side for a nominal fee of a national park entrance. Not worth it!

By MaryAnn M |

The Grand Canyon is a must see. You can’t go to Arizona without seeing it or you miss a natural treasure. The view of phenomenal no matter where you stand.

Cars that are wrapped with this logo are dangerous and aggressive drivers! Watch yourselves! They have no regard for others on the road.

By Braidon B |

This is nothing more than a scam operation. This region region has many roads that the public could use to travel and view the Grand Canyon. However, rather than allow the public to view the Grand Canyon themselves, the local Hualapai Reservation have fenced off the entire region to extort people to pay for a bus ride. It would be one thing if the there was a simple entry fee (like any other State or National Park), or if the bus ride was reasonably priced. But, I kid you not, the price *just to get on a 15min bus ride* is $50 per person (so a family of 4 is paying $200). That huge price covers nothing else. Every additional stop is more money, and to walk on the sky bridge is $26/person. What's more, is that these scammers frisk you before entering. First they disarm CCW holders and off-duty Law Enforcement, and then at the ticket counter they announce you're not allowed to bring anything that would result in them making less money off you. So, no personal items including backpacks (you know, basic kit for hiking), diaper bags (critical if you have a small child) food, water, pocket knives, multi-tools, etc.

Don't get me wrong, the helicopter rides and the rafting look amazing; but, we just came to see and hike the Grand Canyon. We chose to leave immediately out of principle. The drive there was pretty enough to justify the trip. Our family is now planning a trip to visit the Grand Canyon Nation Park where we will not be extorted by a greedy Reservation.

Unless you intend to pay for an adventure that you can't do yourself (helicopter ride or rafting tour), do not let these people scam you. Again, the Hualapai have wrongly cordoned off this entire region from the public in order to extort them for entry. What's worse, the people living on the reservation continue living in squalor while these cats rake in the dough (you'll see the trailer parks on your way here). This scam operation dishonors the Hualapai Nation.

(This is also my first negative public review, if that puts things into perspective)

By Alexander M |

Totally overpriced and only 2 spots. The way it is carried out is a disgrace. You are driven around in broken buses and cannot move freely. Visited November 2023

By Asmita B |

Breathtaking views at Guano point! Nature at its best! Scary, so please be careful since there aren’t any railings. The skywalk at eagle point had a long line, but that is expected on a long weekend. Totally worth the drive from San Jose!

By Emily P |

I did not expect the views to be as spectacular as they were, and was blown away with the beauty of the west rim. The drive from Las Vegas to get there was extremely easy, although plan ahead as there are not a ton of places to stop for water or bathrooms along the way. The Grand Canyon West experience was more expensive than I had anticipated, as I missed those details when planning, and I probably would not have paid to do the skywalk if I could choose again. The views were amazing on their own, and while cool, we did not need that to make our experience better. They don’t allow you to bring your phone out on the skywalk, and have photographers pushing groups doing poses, hoping you will pay for their photography instead. That was a bummer, as we would’ve liked to take our own photos out there, however, I do understand the reasoning that it is to keepman-made objects from falling down into the canyon. The lines for the buses were long, and for the skywalk even longer. We spent the majority of our visit waiting in lines, so be prepared, especially if visiting at a busy time of day (we came around 1pm on a Friday in March—to buy tickets was a half hour line, to get onto the shuttle bus another 30ish minutes, into the skywalk at least an hour). Despite the waits and the expense, it was 100% worth the time and money we spent to see this incredible beauty of a place.

Glad to read all the reviews and went in well informed and prepared.
Almost didn’t go but glad we did. We visited late October 2023 midweek. Remember: this is Native American owned, not US park service! An hour off US93 like NPS site is an hour north of I40. Saw glamming and RV site on the way in. Yes, you pay around $40 (ask for small senior discount). About the same as Hoover Dam tour. Add for the skywalk. Could omit. True-the skywalk might be underwhelming but not much more $$ for one time splurge. We were ready for the lines (moved reasonably quickly) & had lots to learn from exhibits along the way. Different vistas than NPS GC. Shuttle to skywalk (no rushing) and guano point (guano was fabulous views and easy walking or scrambling). If you’d like a different canyon experience or a second half day, it might be worth it for you too.

By Malte |

Costs 99$+tax per PERSON.
Absolutely overpriced.
Even if you arrive by your own car you have to board the shuttle buses on site.
Still water costs 5€, a small ice cream from the chest over 6$. Professional photos are offered at overpriced prices on the Skywalk.
If time permits, definitely drive to the South Rim or North Rim.
There you only pay $35 per car.

I wouldn’t recommend going with young kids. Older kids would be better. Sites were great and humbling. Lots of climbing if you choose to see the higher angles. It was very hot when we went, over 100 degrees and sun was strong. Recommend water bottles, sneakers and hats. I don’t recommend the skywalk as it wasn’t worth the money. The general admission was good enough. Food there is basic concession stand stuff eg hot dogs, chips, sodas, etc. lots of picture opportunities and a must see. A good site of Indian village depiction. They have buses to take you to each section for the site if you drive to the location. We did stop over to the Joshua tree scenic spot on the way too. Bucket list item checked

By Thomas K |

Very commercialized which is good in the fact that everything runs smoothly but its very much overpriced for what you get. Walking out in the Skywalk and looking through the floor is cool but that's it. The views are nothing special, compared to the other rims it's not even close to the same level of awesomeness. We ate at the Eagle Point cafe which rivaled bad cafeteria food. If your going here because your coming from Vegas you really have no other option that's close but if your wanting to see the actual Grand Canyon in its full glory you should go to the actual National park.

By Alexandra G |

The Zip line staff was very unprofessional and rude. They would not make any efforts to accommodate us although we were there before the 4pm deadline indicated to buy tickets.

It felt like they were in a rush to finish their shift and kept mentioning they were understaffed and could not help. The salesperson at the front desk would make no effort to find a solution, we asked for escalation but the manager on site did not care. We wasted over 45min with this and there is not much else to do at Halapai stop.

Overall, a terrible client experience and very unprofessional staff, I would not recommend.

Myself and husband attended a full day coach trip which included Grand Canyon West rim with Skywalk, and Hoover Dam stop off on return drive..

We was picked up from our closest hotel pick up point ( Excalibur) where we made a few more pick ups before our tour began, our Driver was amazing, as we drove to our destination he gave us an insight of the history and knowledge of the areas we either stopped at or drove through..

Fantastic Grand Canyon experience.
The sky walk was out of this world & what a once in a lifetime opportunity..

You will be asked to wear footwear covers, to protect the flooring!
And to leave your mobile phone in a locker!
You have a choice to have a professional photographer take pictures of your experience or not! You do have an option!

After we had food & drink at the cafe situated on site, with again a fabulous view of the Grand Canyon..

After we had time to look around the area & the native Indians whom occupied the area beforehand, beautiful souvenirs & such a great day you will remember..

At collection by our driver, he drove us back to the Hoover Dam, stopped off to photo's & bathroom break, and finally to make drop off's..

Highly recommended 👌🏻
Wonderful memories made that day!

We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Grand Canyon West. We chose this location because we were road tripping from San Diego and didn’t want to drive to the national park because it was a bit too far. We booked at the Cabins at Grand Canyon West and that worked out very well because we were able to get one of the first busses to the canyon. It’s a bit pricy, but a wonderful experience. We found everyone to be very friendly and hospitable. The restaurant views were amazing; the food was okay, but it was more about the experience. The second part of the trip to Guano Point was incredible. The views were amazing! (If you have little ones, be aware that there are no guard rails or fencing at Guano Point). All in all, this was amazing and I’d recommend it! Sincere thanks to the Hualapai people for their hospitality and for sharing their culture and this beautiful land with us.

I read many reviews before our trip so I was prepared to accept the negatives with the positives, and plan accordingly.
We drove from Las Vegas and arrived before 10:00am, early April, and enjoyed the scenic drive along the way. We were greeted kindly by a gentleman at the entrance, and found a parking space easily.
I recommend getting there early if possible, wait times to ride the shuttles between the points are longer as the day goes on. We did not buy tickets in advance, I cannot see the point of doing that - we wanted to make sure the weather was decent for clear views of the canyon before we spent our money. We paid $140 for a family of four to enter and use the shuttle.
We went on a sunny day with some wind at 10-15 mph, temps between 50-60 with some gusts of chilly wind. I wore sunglasses, layered clothing and a hat to protect my face from sun and my ears from cold, brought gloves, and wore comfortable walking shoes.
We took our own photos at our first shuttle stop at Eagle Point without ever going on Skywalk, and they came out beautiful, so we did not feel we missed out on anything. We did not buy the Skywalk tickets because did not want to endure the hassle we had heard about. The short self-tour cultural walk among the sweat lodge and other structures at Eagle Point was fun for our kids, we have a preteen and a teen.
We went into the gift shop at Eagle Point which was very crowded, and I was relieved I was not among all of those people waiting to go onto the Skywalk. We bought a few souvenirs there, they had a deal buy a few items and get 1 free, they had cute keychains and shot glasses. There we also ordered 2 pretzels with cheese dip, but they forgot to add the salt so we had to go back and request it be added…then we found a picnic table outside. My husband shared his pretzel with one of our kids and theirs was good, but the pretzel I shared with our other kid was not heated thoroughly - still cold on the inside…but going back inside wasn’t worth my time, we ate as-is so we could just move on to the next stop.
The highlight of our West rim visit was the next shuttle stop at Guano Point, we were able to take our time and walk around at our leisure to see amazing views of the canyon looking down on the Colorado River. After awhile we went to the Guano Point cafe to use the restrooms, which smelled pretty foul and one women’s room stall was out of order, but otherwise functioned. We found outdoor seating and ate a picnic lunch of items we had packed and brought with us. There were several large black birds approaching us the entire time that we ate without any fear, indicating that people regularly feed them. Also - the cafe serves food on styrofoam trays and people bring those trays outside to eat - we observed styrofoam containers being blown around by strong winds and carried into the canyon. The trash cans were overflowing. One of my kids was bothered by this and spent 15 minutes after lunch helping pick up trash around the picnic area. I saw a couple of employees diligently emptying the trash cans after that, but it was clear to me that they needed more help to keep things cleaner. In my opinion, the cafe should use biodegradable serving containers.
One thing that bothers me - it felt uneasy with so many people and no safety fencing at Guano Point. No staff was to be seen in the area promoting caution among visitors. Our family had a talk when we arrived about safety, my husband and I insisted our 2 preteen/teen kids walk close to inner side of path away from edge of rim, to not run, and to not climb areas that looked potentially unstable. Once a fall starts on a steep slope, it would be nearly impossible to stop and could lead to going over the edge. People were climbing on rocks close to the edge of the rim to get photos, the only safety measures I observed were a couple of small caution signs posted…it’s only a matter of time before someone falls over the edge of that Canyon. There’s no way I would take a child under the age of 12 to visit there.
We opted to not visit the Ranch, as we were ready to leave after Guano Point and head back to Las Vegas. If my children were younger, maybe the ranch would have been something they would have been more interested in and as a mother I would have felt my kids were safer there than taking them to Guano Point.
Finally, we stopped at Hoover Dam on our way back to Vegas for a brief walk along the bridge between Nevada and Arizona overlooking the dam. It was a good way to end our adventures and we had time left at the end of our day to shower and go to dinner at Carmine’s in the Forum at Caesar’s Palace.
The following day was colder at 45 degrees but clear and sunny, so we decided to visit the Valley of Fire State Park, located only 1 hour from Vegas. It was breathtaking and I would definitely return to hike the trails next time when we visit Vegas again. We got out of the car a few times for photos along the scenic drive, but most of the best photos we took was from our car windows along the way.
In all, we were pleased with our visit to the West Rim for our first time ever seeing the Grand Canyon. There are some things that I mentioned need some improvement regarding safety and cleanliness. If we are in the area again, then next time I would like to visit the South Rim.

I’m giving 3 stars because it was the first time of my sister at the Grand Canyon and she loved. For me it would be just one star.

I’m writing all the details because I think this place expensive compared with South Rim.

Grand Canyon it is one of the best places in I’ve been. It’s Spectacular!!!! A few years ago, we’ve been in the South Rim, we paid for National Park per vehicle per 7 days (today is $35). We spent one night there and we’re able to visit walking, shuttle to see the sunset and we were close to the edges. Amazing experience.

Last Saturday we went from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon west, and what a disappointed experience.

First you’ll parking far from the Grand Canyon itself. You’ll stay in line to buy tickets, $45. I recommend buy in advance, then you’ll stay in line for at least 20 minutes (winter season) to go to the first stop, Eagle Point and Skywalk. They don’t have buses enough to go among the points of view.
It’s Grand Canyon and the impact of the view it amazing!!! Specially for my sister (first time) But……

Second: Skywalk? Waist of money!!!! $23 per person. You can’t carry your phone, cameras, anything at all with you. You’ll leave your belongs in a locker that Thank goodness is free. Then you’ll put a dusty shoe cover and choose the line: left if you don’t want photos and the right you’ll wait in line to take pictures with their photographer. $50 per 10 digital photos. As soon as we entered at the bridge it was a totally disappointed, the floor was so scratched that we’ve barely seen through the glass. Unbelievable. The guy said they change the film over the glass once a month, definitely not enough! Of course, you’re far from the edge and able to see great views, but that’s it! The same view from the edge if you think about it.
The Eagle Point it’s beautiful and breathtaking and It’s kind of closer to us. But….

Another 20 minutes in line to take the bus to go to Guano Point!!!!

The place it’s amazing!!! What a view!!! And you can walk more around the edges, climb the little mountains, explore more by yourself like at the Grand Canyon South. After a hour there, another 20 minutes in line and the driver didn’t want us to enter the bus with free seats spaces yet. People forced the bus door and entered even to stay stand to go back the parking lot. Total disrespect!!!!!

And we gave up seeing the Hualapai Tribe Village. We were tired to spend time in lines.

And to end: You must have credit/debit card to pay for your gifts, food or drinks. At that time, they didn’t have cash anymore. What??? I think if the store still open, they have to have money, especially in a tourist place. (Really, I’ve never seen any place say that they don’t have cash at the cashier, at least if they’re not closing) I saw a lady who didn’t have any card with her and for lucky her friend paid for her. For me it’s unacceptable this kind of thing once you paying a lot to be there.

So, if you have enough time, go to Grand Canyon South Rim, if you don’t, I would skip the skywalk, give more time to spend there and be prepared for the huge lines.

Purchased 2 tickets in person (west rim@ Indian reservation) for helicopter tour that lands in the Grand Canyon. Purchased tickets and was told there were 12 available seats at the time of our purchase( around lunch). Arrived back at helicopter location (at stated return time), saw a large group (approx 12 people clearly all together, waiting at the front waiting area when we arrived). We handed our tickets to the Maverick rep and was asked, when we purchased our tickets, as he stated the flight was completely booked already. I advised we purchased around lunch and at the time 12 seats were available, so there is no way our flight was “overbooked” at the time WE purchased. Was told to go back to sales desk and ask for a refund, bc there is nothing they could do. Come to find out, the large party waiting in the lobby purchased their tickets AFTER we purchased ours. They overbooked the flight by allowing the large party to purchase THEIR tickets. Instead of not overbooking the flight, they overbooked and bumped us off to accommodate the larger party. (Party of 2 vs a party of 12)

Very disappointed, drove over two hours from Las Vegas strip to specifically take part in this tour. Only to be turned down, AFTER purchasing the tickets, waiting around for hours in order to arrive at helicopter location on time, and arriving on time to the loading gates. Maverick could have easily seen, we purchased the tickets FIRS, prior to the larger party buying theirs. We see what Maverick and the reservation is more concerned with…..$$$$!!

Maverick and the reservation work hand and hand to provide the helicopter tours to patrons.

Well organised. The glass walkway is not worth the extra spend. The second stop is more breathtaking than the first. Don’t rely on the cafe there for a good meal.

Average Trip. We were in Vegas for a family trip and decided to drive to the Grand Canyon West since it was closer than the National Park. There were 13 people in our group and the ages ranged from 72-5 months. The first thing that bothered me was the prices. Although online it says prices may change I was expecting to see the prices posted when we arrived. The prices posted in the ticket center when we arrived were not the prices they were charging when we arrived. When I asked the ticket agent about it she said they the prices change daily. (She actually seemed bothered when I asked how much the tickets were a piece because she was just punching in numbers and I could not tell. Our group did have seniors, children and adults) It does seem as if they just randomly charge since they don’t post the “todays” price anywhere. After that happened I decided to go back and look at the reviews and noticed that several other people mentioned that. I normally read reviews so that was my fault for not knowing that. The views were amazing and you are able to jump on and off at the various stops but Some of the bus drivers were not very friendly and we did have to wait quite a while for buses. We didn’t eat the food there so I can not give input on that. Overall it was a nice visit.

Four of us were in Las Vegas so we decided to make the drive to GCW. We actually left fairly late, around 11:30ish. We made two stops along the way, one for fuel, food and souvenirs, so we arrived around 2:00-ish. Picked up our tickets for general admission plus the Skywalk. We got on a bus that took a five minute drive to the Skywalk. It's pretty organized, someone greets you and if you are doing the Skywalk, he pointed out that everything must be placed in a locker (which is free) and take the key with you. Then you go to the entrance area and put booties over your footwear. Now, you walk outside and wait for a photographer to guide you to areas to pose. They took about 5 different shots.

The view is spectacular, but looking through the Skywalk glass bottom was a bit disconcerting for me. We stayed out for about ten minutes enjoying the view, then headed back inside.

We perused the store, I ended up purchasing a ham sandwich for $10.

Then hopped back on the bus to the next area, Guano Point. Geez, it was breezy and cold for this girl from Hawaii! We walked along the rim (five feet away from the edge, lol) and reached the tram that took the workers to the bat cave across the canyon. I'm pretty sure we spotted it too! We didn't do the climb up the big hill because it was getting late, plus we were all so cold by then. So back to catch the bus.

It was really quite beautiful, even though it wasn't the typical part of the GC most people gravitate to. I've never seen any other part of it, so I really appreciated the grandness of this vast space!

A RIp off! Sold a helicopter flight by the staff in the visitor centre only to be told that the flight they had been double booked. It completely wasted our time at the west rim, we didn’t see half the things we wanted to. Lodged a complaint and this has been ignored.

The south rim and National Park is a much better experience.

beautiful experience. A hundred dollars, but really well spent. The ticket includes all the attractions, from the viewpoints (Eagle point and Guano point), to the suspended walkway to the zipline. Very polite and kind staff, adrenaline experiences, amazing scenery. Really not to be missed!

I recently visited the West Rim of the Grand Canyon and felt compelled to share my deep concern regarding the pricing structure and accessibility policies currently in place.

The $99 entrance fee per person is deeply troubling, especially when compared with the $25 annual pass that grants access to all U.S. National Parks. For a single site — one which exists within a National Heritage area — to charge nearly four times that amount for a single-day visit is not only excessive, but arguably exploitative, especially when the cost includes amenities many guests are unable to use.

The West Rim package includes both a zipline and the Skywalk. However, individuals with disabilities or medical conditions — such as vertigo — are required to pay for these features, even though they cannot safely or reasonably use them. This structure lacks both flexibility and inclusivity. These should be optional add-ons, not bundled into mandatory pricing. Also, when we returned to the entry site (3:30 pm) we were first informed that the zip line was closed and not available, a detail no one had the presence to mention when we bought our tickets for the day. After nearly 30 minutes of "discussion" with Management and then with Security, we were finally allowed to join the final group. If we had not insisted, we would not have been able to participate, through no fault of our own.

Moreover, the impact of this pricing extends to nearby communities such as Dolan Springs, whose residents live just 30 minutes from the rim. For many local families, this site is economically out of reach — a troubling irony, given their proximity to one of the world’s most iconic natural wonders. Public treasures like the Grand Canyon should be accessible to all Americans, not just tourists able to afford inflated admission fees.

Lastly, the reception we received upon arrival was neither welcoming nor informative. It reinforced a sense of commercial prioritization over public service or cultural stewardship. For a place that draws international visitors and represents American heritage, this is not the standard we should be setting.

I urge Grand Canyon management and leadership teams to reconsider this pricing model and its implications — both for local accessibility and for the broader ethical responsibility of stewarding a national treasure. Accessibility, transparency, and fairness must guide how we share our most precious landscapes.

Sincerely,

Jon Robert Amos

The views were amazing. We took so many photos. Our tour guide was friendly and amazing. I would recommend it to my friends and family.

Visiting this place is tantamount to being robbed at gunpoint. General admission and lunch for five adults, and two skywalk tickets cost $424.00!!!! WTF????!!!!! the scenic views were okay, but NOTHING like the north or south rim views. Don't waste your time AND money being scalped by the greedy Hualapi Indian tripe that run this rip-off operation. This operation is criminal!!!!

By GBinDC |

Visiting Grand Canyon West Rim was a great way to see the canyon for the first time. The views are breathtaking, and it’s much less crowded than the South Rim. However, there are a few things to keep in mind to make the most of your visit.

First, buy tickets in advance online. There can be an unnecessarily long wait if you don't.

Be aware of the tram system. It’s the only way to get between the different viewpoints, and while it generally runs smoothly, there can be waits, especially during peak times. Dress for the weather—temperatures can vary a lot, and there’s not much shade at some stops.

The Skywalk is nice if you want photos, but otherwise, it’s not a must-do. The views from the surrounding areas -- especially Guano Point -- are just as impressive. As for the meal plan, I’d skip it. The food is only okay, and you may not eat what you pre-pay for (especially with picky kids).

Overall, if you’re looking for an easier, less crowded way to experience the Grand Canyon -- especially driving in from Vegas -- the West Rim is a solid choice!

By Kelly L |

This place is massively overpriced but you don’t really have a choice, as once you’ve driven all that way it’s pay or sit in your car and watch the helicopters take off!

We went to the West Rim during a trip to Las Vegas, unfortunately drive time to the South Rim meant this was the only option for some of the couples who hadn’t visited the Canyon previously to see it. The $22 add on for the Skywalk was about what I thought it would be but the $60 just to get in a bus to the view point is just exploiting people.

The Skywalk itself isn’t as spectacular as I thought it would be, probably only worth paying the $22 if you may be scared and fancy the adrenaline rush.

After the long drive from Vegas we decided to eat from the food truck type eatery near the bus stop, whilst chilli fries went down well, the nachos were vile, just some cheap salty chips smothered in squeeze cheese 🤮 and the hot dogs were laughable, not what anyone expected in the USA.

The highlight was Guano Point, you could get pretty close to the edge and get a great view of the river and the scenery was stunning.

By German_Addick |

If you just want to escape the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas for a day, this is the place to be. Admission is quite expensive at around €50 and the South Rim is more beautiful, but the journey time of around 2.5 hours from Las Vegas is worth it. After buying your ticket, you take the bus to Eagle Point, where the Skywalk is. There isn't much else to see here other than small, different Indian huts, so you can then take the bus to Guano Point. The view here is simply fantastic.

By Vrouir F |

What a rip off. Could not get the full view, was harassed by photographers and it left a bad taste in my mouth. We paid the exorbitant amount of $72 to not be able to take pictures, and the out of focus pictures were $25 per photo, which you had to print yourself. The walk itself was very rushed and short, and we could not get the full experience. I would recommend going to the south rim. Also they should allow photography in the sky walk.
Do not water your time and money on the West Rim Skywalk.

By e-claiborne |

I took two teens here for the Zipline and Skywalk. They enjoyed it and we all appreciated the novelty of being on a reservation. It is a highly touristed site but very well organized and they do offer a unique experience. We would have been satisfied without the Skywalk. Just general admission and Zipline were fun and interesting.

It is a beautiful drive from highway 93 to GCW, in particular through the Joshua Tree forest.

$378 for get in. there is four of us and $25 meal ticket each which is totally not worth it. (Pack your lunch or grab Burger King or McDonald’s would be much better )Maybe it would’ve been worth it if it was maybe $30 to get in per vehicle I don’t know how much it is now if you have extra time, go to north Grand Canyon, you just pay park fees and there is so many stops. Amazing views there’s no comparison.

By Emmanuelle A |

The view is splendid we can say nothing about it but on the other hand arrived on the parking you feel the monumental carrot. So yes we can not go further by car it is forbidden. You enter the welcome in the bubble and we announce with a smile that to go to the grand canyon it is 76$ per head for the smallest package... good no choice. Then once paid you queue to catch a bus. Let's get you to the first point. You take some pictures then you have the glass bridge to visit. Ahhhh you feel the 45 minutes waiting... to be told once upstairs that you have to put all your things in lockers. Forbidden to take pictures 🤣. Right? Yes we will do it for you it is $20 a photo or $50 the 3. Sorry I didn’t take the club it’s not going to be possible.
Anyway. Are you thirsty? Don’t worry, the small $4.75 bottle of water is there to quench your change purse. Too much for pigeons. Pay okay but don't push. Very disappointed for klk photos

By Kevin N |

Grand Canyon West is too expensive with little value. It costs about $50.00/person to get in. The ads says you can visit 3 stations but actually 2 because the other one is outside of the park. DO NOT purchase the sky walk. It doesn't take even 30 seconds to walk through but it took 30 mins to wait inline and the cost is $28.00/person. If you are already in Las Vegas, you should explore the Red Rock Canyon and/or Valley of Fire which are about 30 minutes to 1 hour drive AND they are much cheaper, $10 - $20 per car.

Wonderful view. It is worth renting a convertible to go enjoying the whole landscape until you arrive. It's about 2 hours from Las Vegas.

By georgie pp |

Two hour drive from vegas. Easy drive- mainly on freeway. You get to western rim car park and go into a tent to buy ticket. We didn’t do skywalk as you can’t take photos so why bother. Then outside to wait for bus- under cover so out of sun/ waited fifteen mins for bus. They take you to two observation points. View amazing. Yes you have up queue back for us each time but it was under shade. My view is we saw the canyons- and it was two hours in a hire car.

Let it be known, You cannot see the Grand Canyon West Rim without purchasing a $60 admission ticket to ride the shuttle to the Grand Canyon lookout/viewpoint. The reason for the charge being the West Rim is not considered a national park and is located on Hualapai Indian Reservation. After purchasing an admission ticket, it is an additional $32 to experience the skywalk glass bridge, not matching the advertised price online (listed as ALL in price of admission & skywalk of $59 total). Do not get confused of the website description of a “free Hop-On Hop-Off shuttle service to get to the West Rim attractions.” There is nothing free involved in this entrance to the Grand Canyon, besides the free parking outside of the West Rim airport. Let’s also not forget, you cannot take any personal belongings, including: phones, purses, and cameras. “Photographers are located at viewpoints with pictures available for purchase.” Save yourself the drive, plan to stop at the North or South Rim where you can take photos on your own personal camera for no fee and be forced into a $60 entrance fee.

By Telemaestro |

It was beautiful. TripAdvisor saved me money and convenience. The things that could have been improved are first for some reason there are 8 or 9 manager parking spaces but only 3 handicapped spaces. That was an issue Next, the skywalk is not nearly as big as pictured and we had to wait nearly 2 hours , standing, to gain entrance. If you did not stop you could walk the entire thing in about a minute. You are not allowed to take ANYTHING on the skywalk so you cannot take any photos, but there were 3 different photographers taking pictures that you could buy. The Skywalk cafe had good food and friendly service (plus buying through Tripadvisor saved me nearly 30%.) I would give Tripadvisor an A+, the Grand Canyon West experience a B

Having visited Grand Canyon National Park years ago, I was initially concerned that the grandeur of the GC might not be fully on display at the Western Rim. To my pleasant surprise, the views at Guano Point were absolutely fantastic. Climbing the rocks and taking in the sweeping scenery there made the entire day trip from Las Vegas well worth it.

As for the Sky Walk — while it’s a unique experience and definitely worth doing once — I found it a bit underwhelming. It doesn’t extend as far out one may think, and the glass walkway had shading on either side so you can only see straight down from the center of walkway.

The Ziplining experience was also somewhat disappointing. At no point do you zip *over* any part what one would generally consider the Grand Canyon NOR do you ever even get a clear, dramatic view of the main canyon while zipping down. It is still fun though.

I can understand many of the concerns mentioned in earlier reviews regarding pricing, availability/accessibility and wait times. That said, we left Las Vegas at 7:00 a.m., made one quick gas stop, and arrived at Grand Canyon West by 9:30 a.m. As a result, we had no issues at all with wait times for any shuttle bus or Sky Walk entry. We did have to over 20 minutes to register for the Ziplining once there (They seem to let new groups in for registration every 20 minutes or so). This is probably the attraction that can get backed up the quickest just due to logistics and capacity.

Our itinerary was: Sky Walk → Guano Point → Zip-lining. For us doing the Zip after the other two worked b/c it got us there around lunch. Grandma and the kids were able to go to the complimentary "classic video game" arcade and eat at the (quite good) cafeteria, all next to the Zipline office, while we (mom and dad) went out.

Note: While you have to take a shuttle bus from the main welcome center to Eagle Point/Sky Walk and then to Guano Point, to get to the Zipline you have to take the shuttle bus back to the welcome center and then drive yourself over [very quick] to the Zipline.

GCW tickets are advertised online (e.g., Facebook) for 20% off (So $80 as opposed to $100) for the sole “all-inclusive” ticket option. While still pricey, it's much more "reasonable" at $80/ticket.

All in all, it’s a memorable trip. The Sky Walk is something your family will likely talk about for years, and our time climbing the rocks at Guano Point peninsula (yes, the rock formations allll the way out - you'll see) was genuinely unforgettable as well.

I was a little disappointed in the lack of different rock colors. I've been to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and those views are spectacular.

That said, I'm still glad I went and enjoyed the views. The best view is definitely at Guano Point. You'll have to climb to the top of the peak to experience the 360° panoramic view, but it's worth it.

You'll probably have to wait a few minutes for the shuttle but they do a good job of moving everyone around.

I also paid for the Skywalk and that was kind of cool. The only downside of the Skywalk is they won't let you take your cell phone because they want to sell you their pictures from their photographers for about $20 apiece.

I DEFINITELY recommend getting there early. We arrived around 9:10 and were probably the 10th car in the parking lot. By the time we left around 1:30 there were about 150 to 200 cars in the lot. The temperature was projected to get to around 105° that day and was already very hot at 1 PM. So that's another reason to arrive early.

We had a getaway from Vegas to the canyon west rim we did by private car about 2 hours. The excellent road and along the way there are places to stop, load gas or buy something. The entrance to the reservation without new. There are several options stop at the viewpoint alone or include skywalking for an additional cost, if you have a phobia of height do not try . Or the helicopter ride. The entrance to the reserve includes 2 viewpoints the eagle point and guano point, the second has wonderful views compared to the first. In both there is a collective shop and souvenirs. All very beautiful.

Absolutely breathtaking! So blessed we were able to take a day and see one of the seven wonders of the world in person. Pictures do not do it justice.

By Gina L |

What a disappointing experience we had! We embarked on a trip from California to Utah to Arizona, hoping for something extraordinary. Upon arrival, we were met with a rather lackluster situation. To begin with, we had to purchase tickets to be shuttled around on a tour that only consisted of two stops. The ticket prices seemed to be plucked out of thin air, and we were informed they could change at any moment. It was unclear whether the prices were going up or down. Despite our skepticism, we reluctantly bought two general admission tickets for $123.00, only to receive a mere $5.00 back in return.

Feeling cheated from the start, we decided to salvage what we could of the trip. We took a 25-minute drive to Meadowview, where we discovered a silver lining. I highly recommend visiting Pierce Ferry for its breathtaking views of the Colorado River. The drive through the park was truly picturesque. The next morning, we returned to our original destination, where we embarked on what can only be described as a disappointingly commercialized tour. While the canyon itself was undeniably beautiful, it was a confined and relatively small area. Our hopes were rekindled when a kind informant shared a secret hike located near the zip line. This hike spanned three miles along the stunning cliffs, providing a much-needed respite from the underwhelming experience. Thank goodness for that!

However, our disappointment didn't end there. We were taken advantage of financially. In addition to the $125.00 admission fee, we spent $54.00 on two fry bread tacos that left our wallets feeling considerably lighter. To add insult to injury, we encountered an elder Native woman who claimed to sell "authentic" turquoise jewelry that she supposedly crafted herself. As it turned out, the jewelry was made from howlite and tin, a far cry from genuine turquoise. It felt like a complete rip-off, both figuratively and literally! The highlight of our encounter was when she confidently proclaimed, "You won't find this authentic Native jewelry anywhere else." I knew better, I did. However, in just ten minutes, she managed to swindle a whopping $140.00 from both me and an unsuspecting elderly gentleman.

All in all, our trip was a rollercoaster of disappointment and fleeting moments of satisfaction. It serves as a reminder to be cautious when partaking in tourist experiences and to always be aware of dubious claims.

P/S most of the staff were unwelcoming and cold.

By middleparkers |

Unfortunately it was around 39 degrees the day we visited but we didn't let that spoil our trip. The staff were really friendly and the views amazing, make sure you take the extended bus tour and do the second stop the views are even better. We did the glass floor and you can have photos taken by a professional. The photo package is around fifty dollars and we'll worth it as you can do as many poses as you like. The only down side was the gift shop, I was looking for traditional jewelry but the only thing avalible was what you could buy on amazon.

By Angela P |

The line to get on the skywalk was long and moved slowly. We purchased tickets for it but ended up not going because we didn’t want to wait so long to get on. Guano Point was awesome! It was beautiful to walk up the ant hills for the spectacular view.

By Hawki2001 |

We were so excited to see the Grand Canyon from this vantage point since we were at the south rim last year. However we were so disappointed with the overall cost of this trip. We are a family of six and for our family to get admission, sky walk, a short and disappointing helicopter tour it was more than the rest of our 10 day vacation! I get it, this is the major revenue source for people on the reservation, but this is not affordable for the average family. Luckily we have saved for quite sometime for this part of the trip.
The helicopter ride was in a nice well kept 8 seater helicopter and the views were amazing. It was only 10 minutes in and 10 minutes out. Our pilot was nice but totally going through the motions and did not really care if we had a great time or not. The 20 minutes we stopped in the base of the Grand Canyon is something not many people can say they have done but it was super hot. It was the highlight of the trip for our kids who will always remember it. Good thing because we won’t be able to afford another vacation for awhile!
The skywalk was fun but again for the cost not worth it. The pictures make it look like it is going to be so much better than it actually is. They try to take your pictures for, you guessed it, an additional fee, and you cannot take any of your own photos. Be informed before you go so you aren’t disappointed like we were.
We won’t ever go back because the south rim is so much prettier and they no one there is trying to get as much money out of you as they can.

Brutta esperienza,

Bad experience, We left Las Vegas by car, after about 2.5 hours we arrived at the terminal, we took 2 skywalk tickets and park about 80 dollars each.
You can not get around with car, We waited 1 hour just for the bus to take us to the skywalk, then another hour and a half to access.

They checked us with the metal detector YOU CAN NOT BRING PHONES !!! What are you going to do on the skywalk if you can't take pictures!! You might as well stay outside, they let you enter in small groups and you are taken in charge by a photographer who takes 4 photos, which you will pay later, And then out of !!
Everything costs, lunch like school canteen 3 (restaurants) of which 1 out of order....
Give up it's not worth it

As someone who went years back it was incredible. I drove right up to the west rim near sky walk and then to Guona point. Now you have to park, take a bus, pay for that or you can’t see the canyon at that point.

The old Indian village used to be incredible and now it’s in disrepair. We drove ourselves and were forced to buy the bus pass or not see it after driving from Las Vegas.

The Indians have made it a full on money grab. The bus ticket didn’t include the sky walk and that was extra. No use of a veterans National park card that I have for disabled veterans to enter parks for free.

So I fought for our country and now must pay someone to get into one of the seven wonders of the world? Sorry less than happy with what they did to an area that was amazing. I purchased zero after the bus ticket because of what they have done. I usually support the areas and Indians but they already screwed is on the forced bus ticket. Made for a really bad experience.

Grand’ Canyon West Rim is a well organized tourist trap. Reviews indicate it is same or better as Grand Canyon south Rim which is the biggest lie ever. There are 2 observation points only and a family of 4 has to pay 160 USD to enter while in Grand Canyon South Rim you enter for a 35 USD allowing 7 days entry with a car and you can walk for endless trails. As a further element there is no real restaurant or market in the Grand Canyon west Rim in a radio is of 2 hours drive, so you are trapped with the low quality and expensive fast food offered there all of which close between 4 to 6 pm. Only one recommendation: avoid Grand Canyon West Rim at all cost!!

We visited this complex as part of a package tour. The area is located upon the Hualapai Reservation lands and consists of the transportation center (gift shop, parking lot and main shuttle stop), Eagle Point and Guano Point along with the sightseeing airport and helipad.
You can not drive your private vehicle inside the complex but must utilized the shuttle busses.
As we were part of a group tour, we did not utilize the shuttle busses as our tour bus took us to each location in the complex.
At Eagle Point is the Skywalk, an attraction that allows you to walk out over the canyon precipice and be suspended above the canyon floor.
At Guano Point there are better views of the canyon.
Overall, for me it was a one and done experience. The skywalk was interesting, the views from Guano Point phenomenal but I think if you do not do it as a tour, it is a hassle to get from the transportation center to the two points. And waiting for a shuttle bus during the summer would become a wee bit uncomfortable.

The West Rim is closest to Las Vegas but we have also traveled to the south Rim and thought it was a better experience. As for the west rim we got the combination entrance fee (Entrance fee, Skywalker, meal). The meal was about the same price if you pre-paid or got it once inside. The Skywalker, the clear see through walkway which goes over a portion of the canyon was really cool. It was about an hour wait and you can not take your own pictures, they have photographs along the walkway but equally as good was Guano point. Which is an old mining site but offers great views of the canyon. If you can climb to the top of the rock formation and get some really good views. You will need around 4 hours here and the best restaurant is at Skywalker. It is a sit down inside restaurant with good views.

We arrived at midday on 29-Aug following a 2 hour drive from Las Vegas and the car park was les than a quarter full, this seemed to be prime time to arrive as lots of visitors started to come in after us. I thought the organisation was really good, not too much waiting for buses. Queuing for the skywalk itself is inevitable - about 45 mins- if you opt for the official photos, otherwise you could just walk onto it with about 25 mins queuing with no photos. Queuing was all inside out of the direct sunshine. Let’s be fair - you are NOT going to get an attraction like this where you can take your own photos. The photographers were really good and engaging and took some ace pics so we bought the full package of 15 for $65. After the Skywalk we carried on to Guano Point and the views there were magnificent - we got loads of our own photos from there and got probably a bit too close to the edge(!). 18 years ago my wife and I did the helicopter tour which would have been 10x the cost of todays visit for a family of 4. We told the kids today that this was just as good because you’ve got more time to take in the whole Grand Canyon experience. Definitely recommend if you have a car to get there.

I don’t like to leave bad reviews, with that being said, this one I can’t ignore.

We purchased 2 tickets for sky walk and GA (general admission). The total was $147. Before purchasing the tickets I asked the attendant if there are long lines and how much time would the event take? I was advised the stop in total at each station shouldn’t take more than 45 minutes if I was expedient.

We waited for our first bus which didn’t take too long. After we got to the 1st drop off, we attempted to see a good view of the canyon, which there wasn’t really. We then waited in line for the sky bridge. Based off the amount of time the line moved, we were set to wait for 2 hours. You can’t bring your camera or phone to the walk either.

After the sky bridge we wanted to get to the next location and had to wait for 3 buses- each spaced approximately 10 minutes apart.

We decided we couldn’t get to the next stops due to our time frame and had to wait an additional 2 buses to get a ride back to our starting location.

Save your money, just go to the national park. It’s a fraction of the price and the views are much better.

Amazing views, if you are in las Vegas and want to do a field trip with the family, this is great. Might not be the same as South rim provincial park, but the views of the Grand Canyon west are great and spectacular as well. The only important thing to know is this is not the provincial park and therefore is not cheap to get it. You should make sure you have a budget for the entrance fees.

The website advertises as $49 per person, but I was never able to get this price when I tried buying the tickets online. I paid $52 per person online, the price is the same at the location, there was no savings for buying ahead of time online, as the price was the same when you arrive at the first point. So my recommendation is pay when you arrive, no need to buy online ahead of time.

Myself and husband attended a full day's coach trip which included the Grand Canyon West rim with Skywalk, and Hoover Dam stop off on return drive..

We was picked up from our closest hotel pick up point ( Excalibur, Las Vegas ) where we made a few more pick ups before our tour began, our driver was amazing, as we drove to our destination he gave us an insight of the history and knowledge of the areas we either stopped at or drove through..

The Grand Canyon west rim is absolutely stunning !

No picture can ever do it justice you have to see it to appreciate and respect the terrain & the Hualapai natives who still occupy there..

We would suggest the Skywalk!

You have an option for a professional photographer to take your once in a lifetime photo's or no photo's at all..
You will not be allowed to take your own camera or personal belongings onto the Skywalk, ( lockers provided ) you will also wear protective shoe covers.

We had a fabulous young lady take our pictures for us and we bought the whole lot, they were to good to have deleted!

Our package also consisted of a meal at the Skywalk cafe, most enjoyable with a breathtaking view of the Rim and Eagle point..

Our return journey allowed us a short time at the Hoover Dam for photo's then our coach driver drove everyone back to there designated drop offs..

A very long day, well worth it in every sense..

We went on the first day of the Spring break (Monday). The temperature was very cool and windy. there weren't many visitors probably due to the weather. The Hualapai reservation is a comfortable two and a half hour drive from Las Vegas. This part of the canyon is quite beautiful and desolate. The Colorado river looks like milk chocolate.

At Eagle Point is the Skywalk and an educational walking tour showing a variety of tribal living arrangements.

We then went to Guano Point. This is NOT to be missed. A short easy walk takes you to the former cable car for the mining operations. There is a conical shaped hill easily walked up that gives a great view of the canyon as the Colorado river winds its way round a few bends.

In the valley on the way to the West Rim, the government has allowed nut growers to rip up the land and put in plantations of three types of nuts. This horticultural terrorism has caused massive soil degredation and every time its windy, great clouds of dust cover the grand canyon obscuring the views and creating a major health hazard. The locals also stated that the nut growers are using vital scarce water that they pump up from deep bores to the plantation to keep the nut trees alive. I fear that the artesian water supplies will be become salty.

The tickets were close to $170 for me and my wife. You then get to the back of this line that is outside many times right in direct sunlight and heat. We did go in a month that is not that hot but it was still brutal. No sign through out the line saying you are 3 hours ( normal wait time) , 2 hours , 1 hour away from the skywalk. When we finally get to the front of the line I see they have it rope off. The photography vendors dictate the amount of people on the sky walk! I saw it when you had a group of four they would just take those 4, if you were 2 they would just let in 2. It also depends on how many photographer they had that day. Once you left the skywalk they try to sell you very expensive photographs. If they had a staff member at the beginning of the roped area asking if they wanted pictures it would not be 3 hour wait but probably a 30 min to 1 hour wait. On the way out I asked for a manger they said I needed to speak with a Judy. She made believe she was not in the office. If you are going with a elderly person or a person in bad health beware.

$56 just to look at a hole in the ground. No thanks.

Literally stop a bit up the road and haluapai ranch, no admission fee and a small hike to see something you were just about to pay money to see.

By Merlyn K |

The views were really great at the second stop. The first one with the glass bridge I didn't pay extra and you can't get to the edge. But the second view is really great. With limited time, this was the visit of choice. If more time and hiking, etc, I would visit the national park. Much lower cost of admission but can't compare the two. Was my first visit to the Grand Canyon.

This attraction is a long, boring drive from Vegas, over 2 hours. We spent about 4 hrs there , mostly waiting in long lines. It was over an hour to wait for the first shuttle to the Skywalk. Then about 1.5 hrs waiting to get onto the skywalk . Then another half hour waiting for the shuttle to Guano point and about a fifteen min wait to again shuttle back to the gates. We spent only about 5 mins on the Skywalk. It is a beautiful view of the small canyon but you must put your bags and camera/phone in a locker before going out. If you want a picture it will cost $50 using their photographers. Guano point and Eagle Point have nice views but not worth the wait. Very elderly people were suffering in the heat and the inside wait for skywalk was over crowded. Most of the wait was standing. The staff look bored and there is little info given about what you are seeing. We would have missed the Eagle formation in the rocks if we hadn’t heard a photographer mention it to someone else. I would only go by helicopter if you can afford it or skip this one . They need to seriously look at how they run this expensive attraction.

Our first experience of Grand Canyon and we were blown away. Loved the Skywalk, and paid for the photos which were taken. Girl who took our pics was lovely. Guano Point was amazing. Two complaints, signage was pretty terrible, and did feel a bit ripped off. It was an expensive day out, albeit the views were amazing. I’d definitely visit the South Rim next time but just too far to travel in a day from Vegas. Manage your expectations and still expect to be awe-struck at the beauty of the Canyon!

By Sadie M |

Everyone was super rude and didn't even acknowledge us. I asked simple questions like where the restroom was, and the kid just kept eating/licking his ice cream cone. Kids are kids, I get it....but we got the same attitude from the adults. No one wanted us there.
The price was expensive. You have to buy a ticket to get on the bus, then another to get on the Skyview, and then buy any photos you want to be taken. No phones or personal belongings on the Skywalk. they say it is for safety reasons, but if that were the case, they would have a fence over the skywalk for more protection. Might even stop the attempted suicide we witnessed. I can tell the photo guys must work for the commission because they were up our asses asking if we wanted photos.

By Greg N |

This was a beautiful place. The skywalk is neat, but pricey.
The most beautiful view of the Grand Canyon is out on the top of the second pile of rocks on Guano Point. It is easiest to climb up if you go around by the tram and then climb up. Truly 360° views of the Canyon! Neat stories about the name from the bus driver, too.
Take 10 minutes to learn about the Hualapai structures etc on the little walking tour at Guano Point, too. Neat stuff to learn.

By Susan R |

Way too expensive and only one ticket option. If you are not physically able, or do not want to go on the sky rim or zip line you still pay full price $113 a person. Long wait time to get on the bus that takes you to 3 different spots. Staff was rude and not helpful. Also, Cafe as advertised it’s basically a hot dog stand.
FYI West Rim is not part of National Park. I would recommend a helicopter tour that originates out of Las Vegas or travel further to the South or North rim. So disappointing!

By Sergey C |

Simply FRAUD... Highway robbery. Not sure how it’s legal. Make you park 3 min away from park, charge you 72$ then make you stand in line for an hour. Same wait on the way back. Can’t take pictures, only so you buy theirs for another $50. Not great view either. Don’t waste your time or money

By JCM8214 |

We bought our tickets online and were running late getting there from Hoover Dam. I was a nervous mess the whole drive there because we were so late. We finally got there 5:15 and it closes at 6:00. Michael drove us up special and we were the last ones on the skywalk. We then rushed over the Guano Point. There were still 50-100 people there but it was not packed. The trip was definitely rushed due to our own lateness but I appreciated them finding a way to get us in. I would recommend arriving on the later side (but not as late as us!) and miss the big crowds and enjoy the sunset.

By Les F |

We did the skywalk, transfer to Guano point and the zip line in under 3 hours. It cost us ÂŁ371 for 4 adults, 2 children (booked 5 months in advance). I had a brief look the week before we went and the price quoted was ÂŁ500+ for the same tickets. We enjoyed seeing the Grand Canyon and definitely ticked one off the bucket list, but don't expect loads of activities - you're here for the view. I would recommend booking tickets way in advance and arriving early on the day (09:00 in our case).

By Arnas K |

If you go there make sure it’s sunny and no clouds. If it is raining/snowing/cloudy/foggy, you will not see anything. Literally. Fog and clouds will obstruct your view. I wish they told us that before we purchased our tickets. But I guess that’s how you make money, by deception. Also, bus driver said that dog and clouds never happens and it’s just unfortunate… but they gladly take our money anyway. Also, they make you park in their parking lot and then you purchase tickets in their tent. Then wait 20 minutes in cold for a bus. Supposedly they run non stop, however they just idle there in front of you and run on schedule every 20 minutes.

By Mudeford 123 |

Very busy and have to queue to get on bus to see canyon. Skywalk available here and eating places. To see more have to get on another bus. Views of canyon are good but it very controlled and very busy. Had already been to South rim and would recommend going there.

By tridan2003 |

8/4/22 travel beware, felt like we got suck into a tourist trap and no way out but suck it up to their mercy, cost of the ticket change without notice. (Family of 4 had to $77 each, plus tax. I think I writing is going to be deleted as this point.

Travel 2hrs plus from Vegas to get to this trap, like everyone said big parking lot then go to tent to pay. Wait in line for about 3 buses (20+ minutes) then bus take you to the sky rim. We’ll hope for better as I type this while waiting for bus and in line.

Again must do your own search to prepare yourself when head to this place. Happy travel and be safe

First and foremost, thank you to the Hualapai People for allowing this amazing experience. Yes, the area by the sky bridge is awesome but it is Guano Point that will take your breath away! Please hold on to your kids at Guano. There are no railings. America the beautiful is right there before your eyes. It is worth every cent we paid for the experience.

By carol g |

We drove to the Grand Canyon from Las Vegas. It was about 2 hours. We had a burger for lunch for $27, if we had booked it with the website it would have been $25. The buses ran frequently moving us to the views that were beautiful. We took so many photos. We were glad we went!

By helgavdv2017 |

Grand Canyon West is a tourist trap. It's a very commercial affair, way too expensive for what it is. The landscape is beautiful, but cannot match what you see in Grand Canyon NP.
We stayed in the nearby cabins. A nice accommodation with a beautiful view, but far too narrow and hard beds.

By daniel d |

My wife and I recently visit the west rim on 2022 New Year eve to experience the Skywalk. Despite a few negative comments we give it a shot. I paid close to $150 for both of us for general admission and the Skywalk package. We aware that they don’t allow bring camera nor back pack so we didn’t bring any belonging and everything stuff in the locker near by. On the Skywalk ring, we spend over 10 minutes to view the Eagle point, when we check our watch to see the time, there is security man approach us and asking are we trying to taking a picture with the Apple Watch. I was shocked and told him I don’t think a watch can take a picture. Few minutes pass by, my wife received a text on her watch and she check it and a same man approach us again, this time he demands to check my wife’s jacket pocket. She pull out a key and show him that’s all she has. I told man “look, honestly I didn’t want to come here, I want to go to South Rim instead, but my wife insist the SkyWalk so we give it a try, now you ruined it”. Summary go to south rim save over $100 and the view in SouthRim is much better and you don’t get harass.

By LSH |

We were a group of 12. When we arrived the parking attendant was nice and that’s where it ended. Due to our large group we split up in 3 different groups as there were lots of people there that day. Each group had negative experiences during our time there. From the man at the ticket counter to the lady at the scenic overlook photo counter it was a bad experience.
I wouldn’t recommend going to this area of the Grand Canyon if you are looking for a positive experience.

By Travel_Addict_Cyprus |

As someone who visited Grand Canyon (South Rim) twice, and stayed inside the park for 4 days, hiking down the South Kaibab trail, I found Grand Canyon West to be lacking. It was a fun day trip from Vegas, but it was rather disappointing because if you read the description on their website you expect much more than what you actually get.
It was a long drive from Vegas, a little over 2 hours each way. It was cool to see the Joshua Trees along the drive!
We arrived at the parking, entered the tent to buy our tickets, and took the shuttle to Eagle Point.
At Eagle Point, you get partial views of the canyon, until you get on the Skywalk. Long lines outside the building, and even longer lines inside. We started to read some of the information signs on the native people, but the attendant was rushing us to move forward and not have gaps in the line, so we couldn't even read those... Why do they have them if they don't want people to read them and learn about their culture and way of life?
I thought it would be breathtaking to walk out on the Skywalk. It wasn't. The glass bottom was filthy and with the reflection of the sun you could barely see the canyon below.
There are too many employees on the skywalk, the so called "photographers" and they disrupt the experience of everyone with their constant picture taking. They ask you to move out of the way to take the photos of all the groups, but they just point the camera up and shoot, not really caring about composition and framing etc. I thought I would want to buy all our photos (8 in number, for $50) because the alternative is to buy one for $25. But I had a hard time finding one that i liked! Poor quality.
The Native American Village is just a few structures that you can see in less than 10 minutes. We were there on a Sunday, and supposedly their website says there are indigenous performances at the outdoor theater. There weren't any.
We took the shuttle to Guano Point. We did the Highpoint hike. Based on what i had read on their website i was expecting breathtaking views. There were views, but compared to hiking down the South Kaibab Trail.... they paled in comparison.
Summary: If you're in Vegas and looking for a day trip, i would first recommend that you check out Valley of Fire State Park which is only about a half hour from Vegas (The Fire Wave and White Domes trails are fantastic). There is also the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation area (the Calico Tanks trail is superb!). If you still have more days, you could give Grand Canyon West a try but don't have high hopes of the views or the experience. To enjoy views and really see the Grand Canyon, go to the national park.

Horrible experience - very pricey for a not even that stunning view over the grand canyon. you re not allowed to take pictures on the sky deck and you have to wait for the bus to bring you to the locations! such private companies should be forbidden - natural wonders exploited
in a very rude way!

By Francesca M |

The only nice views are from Guano Point. Too expensive to get in for what you get! Drive more and go to the South Rim.

By Robert E |

Only option is now all in ticket which in total is 113 dollars each to look at a hole in the ground. No mention of the cost anywhere before going, not worth it - that should include zip line but was told you may not get on it due to first come first serve so not sure what you’re paying for. Capitalist America I guess.

By Sabrina T |

The crew here was super friendly!!! It was definitely a great experience and I would recommend you going if you think about it! Bring some comfortable hiking shoes. The staff was amazing and you felt very comfortable. All had an amazing sense of humor.

By Jeffrey J |

Scenery was good. I felt taken advantage of - price was way too expensive, and then they would not even let me take a camera on the sky bridge to take photos. They force you in to buy photos from them if you want one, even after paying and exorbitant entrance fee. Then when we got back on the bus they forced you to go through the gift shop in an effort to get you to spend even more. I will never go back and will discourage anyone else from going.

By Sam N |

Do you want to spend $60-$100 per person?
Do you want to drive 2+ hours from Vegas and then wait 1+ hour to buy tickets and get on a shuttle. And then wait 2-3 hours to walk on a u shaped glass walkway? That’s 7-8 hours to see one side of the Grand Canyon for 15 minutes?

If you said yes to all of these, then Grand Canyon West is for you.

PS. The ~$30 meals are terrible.

By Alejandro0203 |

Incredible place that you should visit if you are in Las Vegas.
We hired an excursion that picked us up at the hotel and we passed through Boulder City and stopped for breakfast at Dolan Spring.
Then upon arrival we visited Eagle Point where the famous Skywalk glass bridge is and then Guano Point. In both places we were able to go down and take photos and walk around. There are also shops to buy souvenirs.
Finally we took the helicopter flight down to the side of the Colorado River.
On the way back we passed Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam

Only one entry option with "all inclusive", $99 plus taxes. High prices and poor service. Large queues, few buses, zipline with two hours of waiting, no information, little structure.

By BiyaheraBakasyonista |

Felt like a rip-off. We went on the 4th of July, hoping it would be a fun way to celebrate, but it really wasn’t. First, we were told they only sell the all-access ticket, which includes several activities besides the Skywalk. We only wanted to do the Skywalk, but since the zipline was included as a bonus, we decided to go for it.

Unfortunately, they didn’t mention there was a minimum weight limit for the zipline. Two of our group of five didn’t qualify, and after waiting a long time, they raised the minimum weight to 140 lbs—so only one person qualified, and decided not to go alone.

The biggest disappointment, though, was the staff. Most were unfriendly, and some were downright rude esp at the Gift Shop. The only bright spot was the restaurant, where one very kind waitress made the experience a bit better.

Overall, I’d say the Grand Canyon South Rim (National Park) is a much better choice.

By theuwdcsavingsco2021 |

We decided to embark on the West Rim tour via the Hoover Dam. Wow what an incredible experience. Robert Dominguez was our tour guide and he was great fun. Full of knowledge, facts and a great sense of humour. Robert continuously spoke with us throughout this journey giving us tourists some really useful advice.
There are some great photo opportunities here so ensure to have your phone fully charged. There are charging points of the coach if not so take your charger.
The views of the Grand Canyon are magnificent. If you are out this way then this tour is a must. One of the highlights of our trips.

By Dunca M |

2 Hours from Las Vegas in our own rented car. Loved it. We did the Skywalk which seemed a bit pricey but where else can you do this. The views were incredible and everyone was nice and the food offerings were meager but adequate. The trip TO the site is amazing. The canyon views were spectacular.

Yes. With an infusion of about 50 million$$ the site would be better. More guides, better (safer) viewing places, better food, better signage but you're going to see the Grand Canyon, not the bathrooms or the gourmet food. You're also saving 5 hours (or more) of driving time if you wanted to visit the Grand Canyon South.

It was a great day.

By Darren B |

Grand Canyon West is a poorly managed, disorganised tourist trap. We had to spend four hours in the park to look at the Canyon for 10 minutes.

The views are fantastic. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. I could get over the $57 per head charge. As it is 2 hours closer to Vegas, but with all the waiting around it’s probably quicker to go to the South Rim which is a far cheaper and better organised site.

The needless buses and waiting around is painful. Why the car park is not situated walking distance from the Skywalk, defies all logical (but maybe not commercial) sense. Each unnecessary bus is a 30 minute wait. The bus route, despite passing the car park on the return journey, forces you to go 20 minutes further to the Zip Line. No one got off our bus to go on the Zip Line. So no one who had done the Zip Line could get on. I really felt for them and as they looked at us in despair whilst waiting in the 40c heat.

If you go to the West Rim, the Skywalk is impressive. But I wouldn’t plan a trip around it. After a 90 minute wait, you mainly looking down at the walls of the Canyon and the reflection of the sun. It’s not the Colorado River running below you if that’s what you have envisioned. The $17 is probably the only fair price in the place. But you can’t take photos and have to endure each tour group being forced to perform an invisible rollercoaster routine on the glass by the paid photographers.

What should have been a fantastic day, had a bitter taste and most people on our bus were complaining about their experience; which is a shame given the iconic location.

The feeling of supporting the Hualapai quickly wears off as they extort you for money at every opportunity. Ultimately, GCW trades off customer satisfaction for financial gain.
Go to the South Rim or suck up the cost of the helicopter ride.

By Northerlad |

You cannot take away from the unbelievable view it is amazing. However, the organisation is chaotic and you will spend your day in one queue or another. It turned what should have been a great day into a miserable one. The staff were also really rude.

By Meander55869737279 |

Are you serious? Can’t even drive to the glass walk area, you have to park and pay $60 a person just to get to the area for a view, before you spend $$ if you want to walk onto the glass cover, after waiting for 2 hours in line to get onto a bus to wait again to see the Grand Canyon?! Go to a national park, they monopolized any opportunity to even see the Grand Canyon here, it’s ridiculous.

By Sightseer770789 |

The trip was an amazing and very fair value. Our guide SCARLET was off the charts amazing, her knowledge and truly deep love for what she does was amazing. If you get to have Scarlet, I'd choose her. It was a long but certainly covered everything we expected and more. Saw Grand Canyon West, Eagle point, and Gran point. We stopped on the earlier side to get lunch, which was included and excellent!! We went earlier to avoid the crowds and sure enough as we finished the crowds showed up and we had time to take speak to s few of the Native Americans that worked there and took some photos of teepees and other homes. Then on the way back we stopped at the Hoover Dam, Amazing stop and plenty of different views.

By Michelle B |

We purchased tickets for the skywalk and general admission it was almost 100.00 we got up to the skywalk and we could not take our cameras in - they wanted to charge an extra 35 per photo. Everything was so expensive and the views were not better than at the national park. We felt ripped off. Food was 22.75 for a hamburger and fries. Save your money go to the national park

By Andreanne N |

Not worth for the price, the bridge is small and the view is less spectacular than other rims. Also, getting your picture is very pricey, because you can’t take you own phone or camera.

By Ariel M |

Felt like a scheme. Waited in the sun at 110f for hours with a hundred people in line and no buses or shuttles. The people there just don’t care and all they are looking for is your money. Do not go there and you will thank me.

By w951fb4 |

We took a day-trip to this place from Las Vegas. It’s approx 2:30 hour drive and we stopped by the Hoover Dam on the way there.

We did not realize that this was NOT part of the National Parks. This is a private business. They don’t allow you to drive past a certain point and you have to take their shuttle. The shuttle price is approx $55 per person and if you include the Skywalk it’s approx $75 per person. Compare this to $35 for a carload of people to enter the Grand Canyon National Park!

We chose the pass that included the Skywalk. Might as well since we were there. That was a waste of time. They don’t let you take any personal items to the Skywalk. No phones, cameras, etc. You cannot take pictures!! They have a photographer (of course 😀) who will take pictures for $25 for each picture !!

The shuttle drops you off at each point. There are three drop off/pickup points.

There are limited places to eat but the gift shop sells snacks at a reasonable price.

My recommendation is to skip this place and spend the time to go to the national park. That’ll be time and money better spent!!

By Benn D |

The Grand Canyon itself is a stunning place, and we visited through a bus tour.
Skywalk is definitely worth doing, however I wouldn’t bother with the photos as they are $25 dollars for one or $50 for the shoot. It takes around 3-5 minutes to walk across at a quiet time, however the photographers push you around and out of the way if you’re not paying for photos so maybe worth having the photos taken just to get longer and a better experience.
The shuttle bus is easy to use and goes from entrance to the other 2 sites in a circle, 2nd area is much better.
At the main car park and skywalk there is a small cafe and shop, the shop has limited selection of gifts, and the food and drink is probably some of the worst quality I’ve had during our trip, especially considering the cost. It is beyond me, when this site is such a money maker, the quality is so poor. It could really be done much better.
Also the main car park area seating is really uncomfortable and there are no decent seating areas to sit and enjoy your food and drink, although once you tasted it, you wouldn’t anyway. All of the staff there were quite miserable and appeared to not want to be there.
The security staff there were superb though,, very polite, friendly and genuinely couldn’t do more for you. This gives me great confidence that when they are needed, they are there to support visitors

By Hanna F |

A rip-off. Overpriced and inefficient. A natural wonder should have free access, instead here you park your car away from the canyon. Pay around 80$ to get access + platform viewing. They make you wait for a bus that takes you to a place (where you could easily park yourself) where you get to take a few pictures, where they then remove all your belongings to allow you to access a glass platform, where they then charge you extra if you want a photo. The platform is a waste of money. It is a natural wonder and should neither be monopolized nor monetized. It is a shame, because the canyon in itself is impressive and has the potential to be a place worth visiting.

By ScottsdaleDave |

Beautiful National Park. VERY expensive. Two admissions, one Skywalk ticket and two lunch vouchers was almost $200. Once I got over sticker shock, we had a nice time. The Skywalk is fun. Kind of terrifying because you are walking on a plexiglass bridge that's 4100 feet above the ground. Great views and a fun experience. Eagle Point had many beautiful views but Guano Point is the real highlight. DON'T MISS IT!!

By Jia xu Z |

Grand Canyon West isn’t for ordinary tourist. All the view points are blocked unless you pay. Everything is tourist priced. A bottle of water is £6. I think the national run services are much better. For real and authentic feeling to it. We stay in a tribe area and apart from everything with a big price lag there isn’t any information about their culture.

I had a very frustrated experience with my dog service that i have in training, i had documentation for her, i am aware is my right not to show it, but i always do because i do not like problems. When buying the tickets the said the have to clear her and started to ask me alot of questions and they did not even look at my documentation. He just said she can go, it was frustrated because is all i have that helps me to get through my day and they denied me my rights, is frustrated 😔. Worst experience ever, i don't know if it was because i was latina and spanish speaker but i am very upset and i dont want anybody struggling with mental help go through this.

Fantastic experience seeing the Grand Canyon and would truly recommend. HOWEVER, i got charged twice by the local ticket team. Now out of pocket by $400, and no one on the reservations email address is responding to my request for a refund. At the time, the attendant told me, my card was not working and the machine had broken down, hence no receipt. So I used another card on another machine, which worked. Both cards were charged with $400. I would suggest checking you banking app straight away, when paying to make sure it does not happen to you.

Go early!! We arrived by 9:30am and had no lines for the buses and one minimal line for the skywalk. We also did the zip line which was a lot of fun. Just make sure you are able to climb several flights of stairs. We also did the meal ticket which I know was a ripoff but it was sure convenient. The bbq pork was yummy.

I’ve seen a lot of mediocre reviews for Grand Canyon West and I don’t agree. The $100 full access ticket is absolutely worth it if you can take advantage of the zip line , food voucher and gift shop voucher. If you can’t take advantage of those things, it is excessive . If you can’t make it all the way to the actual center of Grand Canyon National Park, these views are amazing and the shuttle to the different areas is great. We were here about 16 years ago and it was wonderful to see how much they’re developed and improved the area. The glass skywalk was awesome. My husband and boys did the zipline and said it was great. Very smooth, the hardest part is climbing to platform with your cable attachment. After touring, we had lunch at the sky view cafe. Our server was super polite and our food service was incredibly quick. The food was pretty good and hit the spot after touring in the heat. We were pleasantly surprised and happy with our visit!

We had a great time. A few tips:
1. If driving from Vegas (about 2 hours), there are plenty of places to stop for snacks and gas. The last 45 minutes doesn't have anything, but prior to that you don't have to worry.
2. Prepay your tickets to avoid check-in lines.
3. We only went to Guano Point, which is probably the only stop you need. The shuttle buses take you right there.
4. We didn't do the Skywalk, but could see it at one of the shuttle bus stops. It didn't look impressive and glad we skipped that.

Overall, a really nice day.

Another sad story when a natural beauty is spoiled by a monopoly given to the greedy.

We took a combo including a helicopter ride (15 minutes), pontoon on the river and sky deck access.

Day before the prepaid experience, I was emailed a welcome message with the advice to download their App. Don't bother, please. The useless ever. Appears to  be designed by a 4 year old, confusing and misleading. Just use google maps.

The helicopter ride was actually a transportation down to the pontoon and back.
5 minutes each way, so do not expect anything spectacular. Credit to the Papillon team: they do a really safe job.

When you finally get to the sky deck, disappointing fact : not allowed to take your mobile and/or camera. Someone needs to make more $$$. Pathetic!!!
Reminder: the package costs USD 375.00! Damn right I expect to take my own photos for a small fortune.

You learn nothing about the GC in the complex, the history, geography, geology. Nothing. You're better off learning something on the Internet.

The saddest souvenir shop I've seen. Nothing worthy to buy to remind you of this spectacle. Bottle openers and keychains.

Respect to the tribal artwork which was worthy enough to spend some dollars.

Icing on the cake: having the slowest and the most expensive "Expresso" in the universe. 1/2 hour waiting for $6.25????

One point for the stunning nature, professional Papillon service and the Tribal effort.

Otherwise I would have given zero.

We left the car in the special parking lot, then we bought access tickets to the reservation and waited for the bus that took us in turn to all the observation points included in the purchased ticket. Outside it was 50 degrees Celsius and few shady places, so take enough water and cover your head from the strong sun. Amazing views of the Colorado River and the immensity of the canyon.

By Bia |

We stayed overnight at the Grand Canyon Western Ranch and arrived at the West Rim at around 9 a.m. and were almost the only visitors. We opted for the tour without the Skywalk and paid $125 for two people. I have already been to the South Rim twice, which was much cheaper and nicer because you can drive around yourself. But if you only have time for the stop at the West Rim, I would still recommend it. The view is beautiful.

This is a rip-off. The staff is rude and the view from the side of the canyon is just as good or better than the skywalk. You can not take pictures. In fact, they make you place them in a locker. I have to assume this is to force you to buy the overpriced photos they take. I had finished the tour and retrieved the items from my locker. While we were waiting for the crowd to clear and I took a picture with my phone from inside the building. The security guard rushed up to me and forced me to delete the photo. Then he made me go into “recently deleted photos” and remove the picture. Terrible experience. You’re in the desert, on a reservation, so you don’t feel there is anything you can do to contest their abrasive attitude. I have nothing positive to say about this experience. Please don’t waste your money going to this place. It would have been a day better spent in my hotel room.

Beautiful location. Skywalk was a unique experience. This is a trip of a lifetime and highly recommended for families.

By Katie P |

As a family we had a wonderful experience! This truly is a natural beauty on a whole new level. The views on offer here are breath taking from the skywalk and Guano Point (both truly amazing!). To finish off this wonderful experience we did the zip line which everyone in my family said was one of the best experiences we have had to date. We also did not have any issues with staff and thought they were lovely especially calming the nerves of some of the more nervous members of the group for the zip line.

We have been to the South Rim and we're disappointed in the Sky Walk on the West Rim. We visited October 25th. There were long lines and constant standing for over an hour. The Sky Walk is a "rim" not a platform. They say you can stay as long as you want, but once you have looked down and out, there is nothing more to see.

By Michele A |

Important for travelers. Ticket lines are long however you can purchase in advance on line. We bought tickets for skywalk in advance and never got to use. The line was a wait of well over 2+ hours. You have to purchase at front gate or on line and they will sell you tickets even if they are beyond capacity and they do not refund if you cannot use.

By Flavia H |

One of the most beautiful places on Earth! We were lucky it was not raining when we got there, but was cold and very windy.
Too bad you can't have your cellphone or cameras while on the skywalk, which could be a safety measure, but they have their own picture guys and charge you for very expensive photos after. The views from the skywalk were outstanding.
Eagle Point and Guano were included with the general admission.

By dan |

This is the worse line up experience ever to just visit Grand Canyon. If you want to wait like hours of line up and they direct you from one area to another, then go for it. Suggestion to the Park, is to let people go anywhere they want within the park. Trying to upswell the visit to the skywalk.. not worth it

By Guillaume D |

Is presented like an alternative to south and north rim, but is in reality a much, much, much more expensive, and touristic experience. Almost no trails, only 2 points of view, only visitable by a shuttle bus. Seems to be much less beautiful than the real national park. Once you are there, in the middle of nowhere, you have not much choice outside of accepting the shocking price of the ticket. View is nice, but experience is tainted by the disapointment of the price and the experience vs north and south rim.

By Bill H |

This place is a huge ripoff. Bought tickets online so saved a couple of $$. When you arrive of course there is a line because; A. the "locker room" is too small to accommodate a large number of people, remember you can't take a cell phone for "your own safety", and B. there is a line of people waiting to have their $25 photo taken on the skywalk. We skipped the photo line and went directly out on the skywalk. Nice view, kind of cool in it's uniqueness, but not worth $70 ea.

Staff at the information desk could not care less if they talked to you, basically ignored me so I asked my question of a sales person, who was very pleasant. Another staffer snapped at me when I tried to go through a wrong door, after all there were no signs indicating where to enter.

Long lines to the buses, I would not visit in the summer as I can imagine what it would be like in the summer heat waiting everywhere you go.

The gift shop is poorly stocked, prices are not bad but you would think they might have post cards or photos taken from the skywalk, no can't have that because that might dip into their photo income from the skywalk!

Food is certainly not worth the price. Some bus tours had meals included, I can only guess what that cost them.

Views from Eagle point are not good, Guano point a little better, but if you want tremendous views go to the south entrance, a longer trip but very well worth it.

The zipline stop was less than exciting. The zipline doesn't operate in October but you could stop and eat, visit the "art gallery" or visit the gift shop. The art gallery had nothing original, all reproductions and the room was about 10' x 20' so not big. The gift shop was full of mass produced novelty items, I was afraid to look on the bottom to see where they were made.

All in all, you get the feeling that all they want is your money and unless the skywalk is on your bucket list, make plans to visit the south rim, that is a tremendous experience.

By Caroline C |

Really bad experience. We waited one hour in line for the bus, another hour for the platform and another 40 min to take the bus back. We paid 350$ for that. The views are not great. It is a touristic trap unfortunately.

By Lori W |

I was overcharged for the experience and was not able to partake in all of the experiences offered. I arrived at Grand Canyon West around 1:30 pm and was told I had to purchase the experience in one package of over $100.00 which would include the zipline experience. I was told that if I arrived at the zipline by 4:30 pm I would be able to do the experience. When I arrived at the zipline at 4:00 I was told that the zipline was closed for the day. There was no offer of a refund for the services that were not rendered. I feel that this is experience is grossly overpriced. And you do not have the option to only partake in a portion of the experience as was advertised on their website the week before.
That being said, most of the staff was understanding when complaints were lodged, I also feel I was lied to by some of the staff.

By Ali18364918 |

The Grand Canyon itself is beautiful - unfortunately the experience felt like a complete rip-off. $65 each for a ticket for entry, inc Skywalk. Had to leave the car and go on a shuttle bus to three destinations over about 3 hours. Queued for the bus for at least 15 minutes each time.
Skywalk had long queues to walk on, and you have to leave your camera/phone in a locker - if you want a picture, you have to pay for photos taken by photographers there.
Skywalk restaurant food was worst we’ve had in the US so far (had the veggie burger and chicken salad). Also provided in plastic bag w plastic cutlery - huge amount of plastic waste.
Guano Point had beautiful views. Queued for about 25 minutes in 40 degree heat for the shuttle bus back - nowhere near enough buses during the midday sun and lots of people suffering in the heat.
Third destination was scrapped due to the heat and people telling the driver to go back to the main point.
Taking advantage of people wanting to see one of the natural wonders of the world.

By Willie P |

Very expensive for very little. Long waits for the mandatory busses, expensive and long lines for the few snacks and food that exists, and this ticket does not cover the skywalk.

It didn’t help that the canyon was mostly covered by a dust cloud on the day we were there either, but that wasn’t their fault.

We did this due to the shorter drive from Vegas, but if I had it to do over, I would have driven farther.

By Glenn T |

I should have read the prior reviews. Drove down from Vegas -- 2.5 hours of mostly dreary countryside. The "bus up to the sites" thing from the welcome center is a pain. Long line to get tix in welcome center. They don't tell you it can be a 2 hr wait (this was on a Monday) to get on the Skywalk, and you can't take pictures. I'm glad we came (it is magestic), but won't come again. And recommend against buying Skywalk tickets...wait is not worth it.

By Marius M |

Since we didn't want to drive 4 hours from Las Vegas to the South Rim, we drove to the West Rim.
The day was a complete disappointment and a waste of money. We paid 120€ for two people to stop at ONLY TWO stops with a crowded Touri bus.
Eagle Point isn't worth it at all, and the recreated Native village is a joke.
At the second stop the view was super nice but all of these were not worth 120€. Take the time and head to the South Rim!

By Trompeat |

The site is absolutely spectacular and is a must do if you get the chance.

You can save on the skywalk since they don't let you access it with your phone or camera, they'll do it for you for $50 - 6 photos. Plus you don't see much more than what you see on foot from the skywalk.

The food leaves a lot to be desired, quite bad if not garbage.

The worst thing, and what ruins the experience, is that they had very few shuttle buses from one point to another and we spent more time in a queue to access the bus that took us from one point to another than admiring the wonder of the place. A disaster on the part of the park organization since they know in advance the expected number of visitors so they can put more buses and thus not make you wait for hours.

By Peri P |

We picked this spot based on its close proximity to Las Vegas where we were staying. The drive is quick but we should have checked ticket prices before getting there. For a group of six it was close to $500. The trip also requires a 5 minute bus ride to the skywalk from the car. We went on a busy day which requires a 40 minute wait outside in the 100 degree heat. Then once we get to the walk they said no cameras allowed. Seemed like a total money gram to require their own professional pictures which was another $55. The bus on the return takes you to another view point which was great. I think just that would have been enough for us, but they make you pay for the whole thing. Overall was nice visit, but the price and feeling seems kind of a excessive for a natural view point outing.

The skywalk was incredible, definitely a bucket list item!! Went with my family (2 adults, 1 child age 14 & 1 child age 12). Everyone there was friendly and accommodating. After parking you take a bus that fist stops at the skywalk. At the skywalk you have the opportunity to have your photos taken (when they ask you if you would like certain poses, take advantage of it! The will take as many as you want & in the end you can pay a flat fee of $65 for all the photos.. totally worth it especially since you are not allowed to bring anything on the Skywalk). When you purchase pictures they include beautiful skywalk scenery pics which are great. The skywalk is amazing and worth every penny, and when we went we were able to go around as many times as we wanted (again, definitely take advantage of this if you can). At the skywalk area there is plenty of areas to take beautiful pics and see the view. When you are ready to go a bus will take you to another location with even more breathtaking views. At both locations and when you arrive there are stores where you can purchase souvenirs and drinks & etc. I would highly encourage bringing something to drink. The only issue is the website is kind of confusing as to where the Skywalk is located. IT IS NOT IN PEACH SPRING! IT IS IN MEADVIEW!! We almost went to the wrong location, which would have cost us 2 hours. If using GPS put in Grand Canyon West as the the west rim doesn't have a physical address. This is a must see!

By Discover47093657969 |

I will say that the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Not that any one is rude or disrespectful. They just don't instruct you as to how things work. Oh yeah you can bring your phones and cameras you just have to put them in a free locker before entering the skywalk. We followed instructions, so we left personal belonging in the car; including phones. No worries the photo package made up for the selfie loss.

When we were waiting to get to our car, because you are bused into the skywalk. When I say we, that's was me and 125+ other lost souls. The buses/vans kept pulling up calling for another site which nobody want to go to. We just want to get back to our cars and continue with our travels. Finally, I asked how do we get to the parking lot. Then it was explained that you go to this look out site first and from there to the parking lot. So, in true Virgo form I had to conduct a PSA for all the those that had been left behind after each van pull away. I announce "We are all going to the next look out site and stay on the bus and then it will transport you to your cars." After the cheers and thanks you, we all Got on the Bus. Happy ending.

Now concerning the venue the skywalk is definitely a place you want to put on the bucket list. The sights are beautiful, if you don't believe in God you will. The photo package is worth it $50 bucks and you get 28 photos 8 of you on the skywalk and 20 of shots you will never get unless you plant a camera somewhere there. Oh just and little FYI, work on some poses before you go so you can have the pics you want and ask to see the shot when it's done. The staff are friendly, when they engage with you, outside of that don't expect any further instructions. Hydrate you will be outside most of the time they do have shaded areas with the mist going and the line moves pretty quick. The food looked good I was to tired of waiting in line to go get some. There are shows and other things to do and enjoy I just came for the skywalk thrill. The price was worth it to me. Oh bonus for the trip you will get to see the Joshua Tree national park(free event) pretty cool, had been meaning to visit it anyway. So, I got a twofer. Yay me! Get out and have fun. We did!

By Ellen |

The place is really impressive, a spectacular view, rendered great photos. We only bought the visitation ticket, not including the skywalk, since only this one already costs U$ 52,00 per Cover. As I read many comments saying that it would not be worth buying the sky ticket, I only stayed on the 3 point visit. Very interesting, however, are more than 2 hours by car to go and more 2 hours back, which can be quite tiring. There was a freezing cold in the place, which prevented us from enjoying the walk better.

By Sara R |

The entire experience did not feel worth the money. We did the experience with Sky Bridge. The first stop felt like standing in lines for underwhelming views. The bridge itself is so badly scratched you cannot really see through. By the time we got done with the first stop, we planned to skip the second. We decided to get out and wish the second stop had been the first. Unfortunately we were too burnt out and disappointed from the first stop to truly enjoy what would have been an amazing time at the second stop.

We got all the way to the canyon having driven from Vegas. My In-Laws (from another country) had always dreamt of seeing the canyon. It was my surprise to my new parents. We were stopped by a guard who informed us we couldn't bring a small dog, even in a kennel, bag or leash. This serves no purpose. The prices were higher than advertised and they tried to get us to drive back a number of miles to kennel the dig in THEIR kennel for a fee, of course. So that my family could see the tour, I sat in the car with our dog for a few hours. What happened to being able to see such a great gift from mother nature without getting price-gouged. I never had to pay to see the grand canyon before. My advice: There are plenty of other places to witness the Grand Canyon's beauty at no cost.

By Sergio AraĂşjo |

My experience corresponds to:
Great Canyon South August 2016 (very hot)
Great Canyon West April 2025 (need good coat)
If you don’t know anything about Great Canyon, the West Slope (West) is a very good choice just over 2 hours from Las Vegas.
The road to travel is pleasant and the site offers ample parking. The experience will be more than acceptable with 2 observation points.
Skywalk to my liking is overrated and not justified, but you will judge that there.
The food is acceptable and according to your rate. If you have more time my recommendation is that you make the tour to Great Canyon Sauth, which is a respectable 7 hours from Las Vegas.
You're gonna want to stay there for at least one night.
The setting is lush and is more of a national park with much more to offer. The views are much better and you will have a wide offer for accommodation.
On either excursion he wears shoes suitable for mountains, sunglasses, hat and water.

It’s basically a tourist trap. Reviews are amazing. Just like the many other amazing views at the Grand Canyon that don’t cost $75. You cannot take your iPhone or take camera to take pictures, they charge you $60 for digital pictures if you’re interested.

By Ryan |

For the month of October Nevada residents get a BOGO all access pass. So we packed up the car and drove 2 hours to Grand Canyon west. Here’s what you need to know and how to plan out the day when you get out there.

All access pass comes with everything they have to offer out there. Skywalk, zip line, 10 dollar food credit, 10 dollar merch credit and access to all points. (Free Buses take you everywhere which is nice)

1. Get the zip line done before anything else. The earlier the better, line gets extremely long, they only take 12 at a time. We were in line for over an hour. Now it is fun, however it’s over before you know it, 30 second ride. Max weight is listed at site based on wind.

2. Skywalk/restaurant/ giftshop- you can get these 3 done since it’s all connected to each other, views are indescribably beautiful, however the food was lacking. They do let you take your phone out on the walk to get as many pics as you can.

3. Guano point- This is a more of walk around as much you can and see all the sights, you get up close to edge than anywhere else on the property, again very nice views and if you can make it so sunset, it’s something worth watching.

Throughly we had a good time, allow yourself 4 hours or so to get it all done.

By raybro25 |

We visited with a friend from Argentina and we’re looking forward to the skywalk experience. We were really disappointed. It is very disorganized, and the lines are long and partially in the direct sun. We were in line for over an hour. When we finally made it through the multiple queue lines we were surprised to find out that we couldn’t bring our iPhones to take pictures. Instead, like some thing out of the 60s, they have cameramen trying to get everyone to buy pictures which are expensive. Moreover, much of the plexiglass or whatever it is, that you walk on, was too dirty to even see below you.
In short, I do not recommend this excursion at all.

The best views can be experienced for the price of admission only. A stop at the.Guano viewing point provides a much better view of the canyon than the skywalk, and you can do it without standing in any line, not being solicited for photographs, able to take your own photographs, and able to take as much time as you want for viewing.

By Mark |

Drove to the West rim from Vegas. Nice drive there through mountains etc.
The parking was good and they provided a bus to the different areas.
I was however disappointed with the experience.
Thought it was very expensive at 50 dollars per person to see what is basically a hole in the ground caused by a river. I feel they could have made a lot more of the experience.
I'm glad I have seen the Grand Canyon but I don't think I will go again. Think the best option would be a helicopter trip to see it. Would be more expensive but a better and probably more exciting experience.

By julie f |

Friends had been years ago and said access was free and could see the canyon and take photos.

After travelling 2+ hours from Las Vegas, with the same friends, we arrived at Western Rim to find the only way we could access the canyon was pay $99 per person!! We nearly fell over with shock!!!!
We weren't interested in doing the skywalk, we just wanted to view and take a few pictures.
An absolute rip off, so we drove away..... Disgusted and disappointed 😔

Apparently, the other rims you can access with just a vehicle fee, but they were 4+ hours away which we couldn't do.

A right rip off and exploitation!!

By Maria Pia |

Well, it's certainly not worth the $100 ticket but given the prices and convenient to take the meal package so you don't worry about the food. Also, the view from the restaurant is wonderful. Nothing to say of course the landscapes are breathtaking but the price for this activity remains high.

Well organized Grand Canyon view venue with visitor carpark and shuttle bus from carpark to Eagle point for the view and topup option to walk on a glass bridge that last for 5min. Tourist friendly building with cafe and toilet

By Stephanie W |

We purchased Zipline tickets from the website prior to our visit. The day of our trip, we learned that the tickets were an "add-on" to the admission ticket and we had to pay approximately $113 each for admission to the park.
The signs in the lobby stated that the minimum weight to ride the zipline was 90 pounds. While on the bus going to the zipline location, we were told that the weight was raised to 140 pounds. When we arrived to check in, I weighed in at 130 pounds and was told I couldn't go on the zipline and there are no refunds. We had no prior warning and we were just out the money we spent for the tickets. As I was leaving the building, there was a new group arriving to check in for the zipline. The person checking peoe in announced that the weight limit was now 165 pounds minimum or you cannot ride. No refunds!
This was a very disappointing experience and we will not recommend this location to anyone.
Most of the employees we encountered that day were very unpleasant and rude.
Before you go, check all the little details and rules to save yourself headaches and money!

The trip from LV to Grand Canyon was worth it for family who have never been. The bus drivers were entertaining and friendly, but not so much at the skywalk. The views are impressive (though not as grand as the full Grand Canyon), but the Skywalk felt like a money-grab and no cameras allowed unless you paid an extortion fee!

By Émilie L |

No, it's way too expensive! 61 euros on the website for two points to connect by bus. No hiking opportunities. Hosted on las vegas, we did not want to go as far as Grand Canyon National Park to limit car times. Big mistake! So yes you will get a glimpse of the immensity of this mythical natural site. But a vague glimpse at the far too high price! Large backpacks are not allowed. Take one small, maternal-sized. Take small bottles of water and don't drink too fast, the bottles on the site are very expensive! Think about eating before or after. Souvenir shops are overpriced for items you’ll find three times cheaper at gas stations on the road.

We visited last week & drove 2 & half hours from vegas. On arrival we were told the sky walk was closed & we could come back tomorrow. We explained that we had a long drive to get there & was told we could use the bus to go up but not the sky walk. We got in the bus queue which took almost an hour & it was a really hot day. When we got there the views were fantastic but the little cafe was chaos. Luckily the bus was quicker back.

By Kirsten |

I know that some other reviewers have complained that the views are not worth it and the lines are long, but my family and I loved Grand Canyon West. We thought the views were spectacular. I was at the South Rim just last year and I can say that the Grand Canyon is breathtaking from every angle. This time it was especially cool to see snow on the ground! We didn't wait for any of the experiences, either. We bought our tickets ahead online and got directly onto the first shuttle bus that pulled up. We were also able to walk right out onto the Skywalk. The only small wait was for the optional souvenir photos at the Skywalk, which we purchased for $50 ($15 per person seemed reasonable to us). Don't worry if you decide to skip the Skywalk, the best views of the day are at the second stop on the shuttle bus, at Guano Point.

By michaelhger |

We were in Las Vegas and wanted to take the chance to see the Grand Canyon. We decided not to do this through one of the Las Vegas tours offered, but with our own rental car. We decided to book a ticket for the SkyWalk with food in advance. The organization on site was absolutely fine, there were regular buses that took us to the different stops (SkyWalk and Guano Point). The food at Sky View Restaurant (facing directly into the Gran Canyon was more than sufficient (including drinks). The view, especially from Guano Point was really breathtaking! SkyWalk itself disappointed us a bit, but still an experience. Photos are taken (as is often the case in the USA), as you can purchase them afterwards. We paid a total of US$50 for 8 photos, which is still moderate compared to other locations). You can't take your own photos because you have to hand everything in beforehand. We were definitely satisfied!

By Paulo A |

Incredible place, surreal and beautiful. It's worth the backpack of Las Vegas. I went by rental car from Las Vegas and the trip is beautiful and quiet to escape the madness of this city. Reasonable lunch, good service but with a lush view of the Sky View Restaurant. I bought the full Vacation Package and took the official photos of Skywalk ($50.00 for 6 online photos). You cannot access this Attraction by mobile. It is worth walking through the Skywalk and visit the 2 main points (Eagle and Guano point). At Guano point the view is even better from the valley and presents a challenging climb for the most adventurous. Unmissable tour in my opinion.

By Toni B |

This is a money trap! We assumed we could go trailing or be free to walk around the Grand Canyon, nope, they have fenced the whole thing off and you have to pay and be stuck on buses for the experiences. Starting at 60 per person and can add to that (sky view, etc…) we didn’t end up even going on the buses and turned around and went to Hoover Dam, as we wanted to be outside and not shoved in a bus with tons of people. Don’t bother with driving the two hours.

By Zahra N |

The 4 stars are for the wonder that is Grand Canyon and the surrounding desert. Stars deducted for the way it has been monetised.

A few pointers:
Well worth visiting as one of the most beautiful and wonderful places on the planet.
We drove from Las Vegas and stopped off at Hoover Dam in the morning, which I also recommend, very impressive views and engineering. We arrived at Grand Canyon around 2pm Arizona time and stayed until sunset around 6pm. Truly mind blowing views!
Parking is free which is helpful.

The cost of entry is quite high (51$pp) but there are packages with various activities that offer a slight discount compared to booking them piecemeal. I recommend looking into these in advance depending on what activities you want to do (skywalk, zip line, meal etc). We discovered this the hard way as we booked general admission first without skywalk then changed our minds and it cost about 20$ more as an add on. I would recommend booking online as it is also cheaper.

The zip line was ok but a bit underwhelming to be honest. It was between two low hills and was quite slow so not very exciting. Views were ok but not breathtaking. Not bad for 30$pp but probably would give it a miss if you’re looking for an adrenaline rush.

Skywalk was also slightly disappointing. Views obviously are incredible but Guano viewpoint is more breathtaking and that is included in the entry fee. On the skywalk you are not allowed to take photos. Professional photographers take photos for you and sell them at extortionate prices (25$ for one photo, 50€ for ten). To be honest people would probably be more likely to buy them if they made it a bit more affordable!

Overall it is a fantastic natural phenomenon to visit it’s just a shame they have monetised it so much, it definitely seems excessive. In total we spent just over 200$ for two of us.

Staff are friendly and there are plenty of buses that take you to the viewpoints but the buses and the whole place is very tired looking and rundown. Given how much people are spending to visit they could definitely invest some of it back!

FYI If you are driving from Las Vegas I strongly recommend stopping by the Joshua Tree Forest trail - it’s almost otherworldly never seen anything like it (and it’s free!).

By Yuan L |

Admission ticket expensive. Extremely long lines and wait time. Skywalk is a scam; not allowed to bring cameras and phones. All the time spent on waiting.

By SRfromAustin |

Over priced for what you get. The walk out onto the Skywalk was anticlimactic - it’s very small and the pictures are misleading. You also cannot use your own phone to take pictures - you can only purchase pics that staff take for you. The lines to wait for the shuttle buses can be very long - even more problematic if the temperature is above 90 degrees F.

By Sandra W |

Waiting in line to get tickets (please do in advance/online), waiting in line to get transferred to the Skywalk, waiting in line to get on the Skywalk (round about 1:45 h) …

Skywalk will last 2 - 5 minutes, depending on how much fotos you want to be taken of …

Transfer to Guano Point was a lot faster (maybe they got some more drivers) and the view to the Colorado River is stunning, the view to the „Eagle“ and the „sleeping dog“ is great …

All together: spending 165 $ for 2 adults for visiting the Skywalk (waiting in line, most of the time) is not worth spending.
If you have enough time, go to Grand Canyon South Rim (National Park) - so much more to see and explore

By Rody O |

Its all about the money... really pure money knocking. You already have to pay $55 ex tax to get to a lookout point. If you want the skywalk you will lose a total of €75 p.p. They've really cordoned off everything so you can't get close any other way.

By SherylH |

I wish I could email Grand Canyon West directly! Thank goodness the Canyon was stunning, but I wouldn't use this company again! Apologies, this is going to be a rant!

We pre-booked our trip and were attracted by the 'luxury travel, TV monitors, restroom on coach, reclining seats' etc. Given the amount of time we expected to be on the coach and the early start, these were important factors for us.

However, at the meeting point, the coach was over booked, and a small minibus was provided. Despite us having pre-booked, passengers who had only booked the night before and were paying on the day, were given priority on the better-quality coach - this included a party of 6 and we were only a party of 3, so there would have been space for us (and the other couple on the minibus with us who were in the same position).

We approached the coach driver about this however she was rude and aggressive.

The minibus did not have the same facilities as the coach and had a leaky roof hatch. It had been a problem for some time based on the water stains on the roof fabric. As a result, we lost c 60 mins of the tour as we had to return to the depot for a replacement minibus.

The tour advertised a 'light lunch in the Skyview Restaurant' - an additional $21. However, when we had a rest stop, the driver advised us to buy our lunch there and take it with us! When we arrived at the 'restaurant', it was a street food shack with poor quality food and limited choice.

The Canyon itself was spectacular. The queuing for buses was a pain and used a lot of the minimal amount of time you got at the site. The Skywalk, which was the primary reason for the trip, was much smaller than expected from the marketing pictures and you were not allowed to take your phones or cameras with you and had to purchase photos from the 'official' photographer.

The sight of the Canyon was well worth the trip and compensated for the poor coach facilities, journey and poor food service.

By Mike S |

General Admission will get you three stops on the tour, one stop was closed due to weather (no there isn't a discount because of that). I was not interested in the sky bridge.
Guano point was the highlight of the General admission. Guano point had wonderful vista that any shutterbug would be happy to capture. From the Novice standpoint it was awesome. Most picture sites were readily available from the path. The 360 view on Guano Point took some effort climb up, but about every kid and determined middle aged man made it.
Internet was down the day we were up there. General admission is 60.00 per adult; bring at least that much in cash to cover admission. Sandwiches, hot dogs, coffee were all available (pulled pork sandwich on Guano Point was 21$).

Hualapai Indians run this place of great naturalistic interest with the sole purpose of profit.
You are prevented from arriving by car near the viewpoints just to justify transport on the shabby buses that act as a shuttle.
With just under $100 you can first enter an unlikely Indian village where some natives dance, play and sing sadly praises of the hualapai culture among old wooden houses in western-style film cities.
Arrived at the "eagle point" you find an Indian with a basket in front with TIP written that like a jukebox after putting the coin explains the meaning of the eagle point.
So for those who access the skywalk begins the farce of "dispossession".
In a nutshell, on the transparent terrace it seems that metal substances are dangerous and therefore before entering you must store in special lockers, coins, keys, phones and photographic stains, even every tourist is passed under a metal detector to verify that he has complied with the obligations dictated by the natives.
Then you find out why, on the terrace there are a fair number of Indians who take pictures of you with the same cameras that you were forced to store in the lockers, to sell you "the memory"... a heartbreaking thing.
So with usual "dated" bus you are taken to the "guano point" which has nothing to do with bird droppings but is perhaps the most beautiful point to see the grand canyon and freely take suggestive photos.
Tip do not buy the walk on the skywalk because they are 30 $ wasted, otherwise the view is still those that excite.

Save your money and your time. Go else where it os a total ripoff. They make you wait in line in the hot sun at the bottom of the stairs to it while the lazy people that work there sit on their buttons inside with AC and complain about how hard their jobs are. The only way you can get in is to go around to the elevator and go in they are to lazy to stop you from entering that way and you can actually go on the skywalk however, like I said save your money and go else where it's not worth ot.

Got harass by a security man on the skywalk, he thinks that we try to take a picture on the skywalk with an Apple watch. He demands my wife to show her pocket. There is no respect to customer. Most of the comments on TripAdvisor are correct. Not worth a drive from LV to Grand Canyon West. Paid $150 for a party of two. The price of the ticket at the gate is more expensive than online.

FRAUD ALERT!!

I am thankful I seen the sign that says no cameras and no cellphones before I paid $76 per person to get in to see Grand Canyon West because I would have been pissed the hell off spending that kind of money and couldn’t even take pictures. If you pay that amount of money you should be able to take as many pictures as you want. They are a rip off. Waste of trip.

We were on the fence to go to Grand Canyon West/Skywalk because of the distance from Las Vegas. Since we were going to the Hoover Dam, we decided to go the extra distance and were all happy that we did. The views are breath taking and the Skywalk is phenomenal. We all thought we might chicken out but all made it. Did I say the views are breath taking? You take a bus to three possible stops. Be sure to go to everyone of them. This sightseeing area is done right. My only caution is to watch your step and children. There is little to no barriers at the cliff’s edge…just warning sign. Please heed those signs. I just don’t understand parents who allow there pre-teens (and teens) to wander unsupervised. My wife had to leave an area because she couldn’t bare to watch. Finally, the gift shop prices are very reasonable. Be sure to shop at the them. PS: Do you see the “eagle” in the first picture?

Absolute insolence... 55$ per person, transfer to the 2 viewpoints ... we gave ourselves the Skywalk, which would have cost another roughly 20$ extra. All around it covered so that no other view of the Grand Canyon can be caught, even the windows on the buses were blacked out.

Beautiful but very poor value for money and terrible organisation. Prepare to wait for hours for everything. The whole thing is a glorified shuttle bus but the don’t put on anywhere near enough for the number of visitors. Also, do not pay for meal ticket, the waitresses ignore you as there is no chance for a tip.

Bucket list checked off, always wanted to see the Grand Canyon. Drive to GC west from Las Vegas, easy drive and beautiful scenery when we got there. Walked the skywalk, super friendly workers taking pictures!

Rather sad that the water level was so low. We had gone to the Hoover Dam 10 years ago with our kids, the water was low but now it’s distressing how low it is.

Would recommend going soon before the water disappears. :(

This was an absolute waste of money. It cost $54 just for basic entrance.
Unless you pay to go on the glass viewing platform you will not glimpse the Colorado river. Even if you pay for that you cannot take your own photographs. You have to pay for photographs taken by their photographer.
There is a couple of huts thrown up like a theme park to try to make it authentic. You wait ages for a bus to come to bus you between points...and this was in winter. One of the drivers told us if we were in our own car it would be quicker to go out and drive to the next point....We did not bother.
We were in our own car and we got better views driving up there from designated viewing points. At least we could see water.
The highlight of the trip was seeing a coyote stood at a roundabout that was that tame our thinking was it knew people had to slow down so it might get grub!!
I would have been devastated if I had paid well over a $100 each for an organised trip and wasted a day thinking I was going to see something spectacular. As I said we had the car and only spent a hour there.
You would be better off jumping on a service bus...cheap as chips $5 all day all over Nevada and going up in the mountains a bit because you will see just as much.
Please please save your money.

I was visit Las Vegas, and really wanted to see the Grand Canyon, but the National Park is over 5hrs away, so too far for a day trip I think. We chose GRand Canyon West as a mini Grand Canyon experience. The glass walkway is fun and nerve-racking at the same time. Amazing views of the Canyon and Volorade River. There was not too much else to do there though. A few short walking trails and nice picnic area. We also drove ourselves, but there wee a few small tour groups front Vegas that were also there. So you may not need a car on your own to visit.

Immediately upon arriving, we received an extraordinarily rude "greeting" from a security guy who, instead of answering our question about the location of the cabin we had rented online, accused us of speeding. He conveniently declined to reply to our question how he could know that. Rather, he basically told us we were stupid for following the app on our phone to the address we had received in response to our reservation and should have been looking for what he called a big "monument" pointing to the cabins. His "monument" is a tiny sign about a mile prior. Fortunately, the staff at the cabins were human and fairly helpful. Unfortunately, the cabins and the entirety of the operation are a long way from civilization so we had to settle for vending machine sandwiches. The next morning, the one and only restaurant was open though massively overpriced. The tour drivers were pleasant but the rest of the staff at the skywalk were either absent or motionless. We didn't do the actual skywalk as pictures are prohibited, which makes the venture pointless to us. Guano Point is decent though given its small size, a very quick visit. Overall, the views are ok but the Grand Canyon should be grand, not uncomfortable and disappointing.
I did call security after our visit to speak to a supervisor about the jerk who mistreated us and received another accusation, this time of ignoring stop signs (it seems that random accusations are the standard approach).
We feel like we wasted money on a substandard visit and were treated very poorly.
We recommend another place to see the Grand Canyon.

Two hours from Vegas, we did the tour on our own, for the natural beauty it is worth making the trip, good road and you have basic services along the way not to be stranded. However when we arrived at the place everything was messy, there were not enough staff to attend and additional we are told that the Skywalk and other areas and activities were closed, only one place to visit was available, and we were charged as a regular day ticket. The price seemed high, although we already paid it to at least know and take some photos. The place itself is very nice, the natural landscape unmatched.

Having driven here from Las Vegas in August, reading the other reviews, I think your experience will depend a lot on the weather and the time of day you go.

We got there after 4pm on a Wednesday and it was a lot quieter then (I'd recommend getting there before 3pm though so you're not quite a rushed as we were). There was no queue for tickets and we waited just a few minutes for the first bus (and none for the second).

It was a very memorable experience and all the staff were friendly and helpful. We eat in the restaurant and the view while eating was breathtaking.

So why 3 stars?

Firstly, Hualapi Point was skipped by the bus completely because it was already closed. This was never made clear to us until the end and no discount was given.

Secondly, it's costly. It's understandable in a way but ÂŁ200 for two adults and a kid is a lot, especially when you add on food and photos, which brings me to...

Third, the restrictions on the Skybridge. We didn't have to wait at all to get on to it but it's nuts that you can't take your own photos. No matter what they say, this isn't because of risks of phones bring dropped as the next stop doesn't even have railings and you can fall off easily. I don't mind the option of having photos taken but it's just nuts that you can't take your own.

Who sold them the exclusive rights? $54 to set foot in the "park". Get carted like cattle and look fast, because the lack of buses are leaving fast. Parking is a bit of a joke. Security hounded us for walking in the park. You can't look for free. Total and complete rip-off (very much like a Vegas show. Watered down and overpriced). Avoid this completely if you are travelling from Vegas. Instead, go to Hoover Dam or Ninas Bakery in Dolan Springs, AZ. Those were the only highlights of this bad trip to the Grand Canyon. Spend some extra time and go to the main park.

Guana Point was the best part of the experience. Worth the $65-ish per person. The welcome area ticket process moves smoothly. Nice gift shop. The first shuttle stop allows for some limited scenic viewing which is pleasant. We skipped the Sky Walk since the line was very long. The 2nd stop at Guano Point is fantastic. Lots of freedom to move around, hike, climb, just be careful as there are no safety barriers. Only a little over two hours drive from Vegas (a scenic desert drive at that) so it was well worth it.

Having read other reviews and seeing a lot of negative comments, I thought that I’d write my own review and recommendations if you are thinking of visiting here.

I am reviewing this from the perspective of someone vacationing in Las Vegas for several days and who does not come from the area (in other words, someone unlikely to have access to any of the various locations around the Grand Canyon unless visiting specifically for that reason).

I recommend taking a daily bus tour from Vegas (there are many choices) and if you are on a budget then you can opt out of overpaying for food at Grand Canyon West -just pack a tasty lunch and snacks. Similarly, there’s no need to pay for the Skywalk/photos if you don’t want to either. So, if you are complaining afterwards about spending money on these things, then you didn’t do your homework in advance! Don’t be surprised that this is a “tourist trap” -it is a moneymaking enterprise for the Hualapai Reservation, I don’t think we can deny them that opportunity to be honest. Speaking of the Hualapai people/employees, we personally found them to be friendly and happy to engage… bless them all.

My one major complaint would be the frequency of the buses that ferry visitors between the 3 main areas…. When we first arrived, there was a HUUUUGE lineup of people waiting to start their adventure, and not a single bus in sight for almost half an hour… yet there were empty buses sitting nearby with no drivers. Not a good look.

The views are stunning, save Guano Point until the end -by far the best views are there, absolutely stunning!! Top tip: try to capture video of a helicopter as it passes through… when you show the video to your friends back home, they can truly see the scale of the Grand Canyon for themselves -regular photos cannot do it justice.

Based on other reviews, it is possible that even more stunning views are possible at Grand Canyon South or North… but again, West is the best location for Vegas vacationers, and I certainly wasn’t disappointed at all. This was an experience that I’ll never forget until the day I die.

These people should be ashamed of this operation. We planned to take a Wednesday day trip from Las Vegas with our two kids and were so disappointed with our day. We arrived just before noon and waited in line for 30 min to purchase the almost $y300 worth of tickets that were required to get the 4 of us out to the Grand Canyon and experience the sky view. We appreciated that the ticket salesperson told us that it was a 30 min wait to get to on the bus to go out there, and another 30 min wait once there to go out on the skywalk. We understood and were fine with that. But, after a 2 hour wait!!!!!!!! in the bus pick up line that was only partly shaded, we were all hungry, frustrated and even watched people throw their $70 tickets in the garbage to turn around and go home, as they felt they’d be better off. Since the busses arrived so infrequently, we packed as many people on as possible so it wasn’t the most comfortable ride. The bus takes you back down the main road to a site and restaurant that serves more “authentic” food. The poor restaurant didn’t get any customers from our bus as people were too scared to get off as they weren’t confident another bus would come within a reasonable time and also because we had wasted too much time already and were eager to get to the main attraction. After circling around, going back past the main terminal, we were finally on our way to the viewing area. While standing at the entrance area, there were some good views of the canyon, however a security guard yelling at people for likely breaking rules that there was no way to know existed took away from the experience. We then entered the sky view entrance, only to see that there were at least 200 people waiting in line and the line was not moving much. With 2 hungry and understandably impatient kids, we headed up to the restaurant and were happy to have fantastic service and a decent meal. Since it was now looking like 7pm before we’d get back to Las Vegas, we decided to skip the sky view, wasting our extra admission cost and just head back to the main terminal to get our car. Again…..a long line up. A bus even pulled up and refused to take passengers as they were not lined up properly! After he lectured everyone on how to line up properly, he headed off, leaving us to wait for another bus.

I don’t write reviews often and normally only do when I have a rave to give, but people need to be warned about this. It was just so disappointing at every turn. Many said that they have visited the national park run entrances and while not as close, are far better run and a much better viewing experience. Overwhelmingly from those who have now visited both, it sounds like you’d be better off financially and time wise to make the longer trip to a national park run entrance.

I understand that they need to make $$, but this is totally overpriced and controlled so that you have to pay for everything!! Can’t bring cell phones on the skywalk, so they try to sell you overpriced pictures. Entrance to the “park” is expensive, no kids, no military discount :(.
The view is not even that majestic like st other points.
My advice is to drive further and go to the Grand Canyon Park where the view is free.

By Mikko P |

I understand the views and the scenery are far better at the South and North Rims, but visiting from Las Vegas we simply could not make the trip that far in one day, so we needed to settle to Grand Canyon West.

I did feel that the admission was a bit steep, but it is what it is. We ordered the tickets online, including the Skywalk.

There´s a large parking space just next to the tent building that serves as a souvenir shop and also they sell tickets there. Bought some pretty bad hot dogs from there and some drinks.

Passing the entrance building, there´s a waiting area for the buses that take you to the Skywalk and I believe also to Guano Point. The bus to Skywalk came pretty soon, and it was maybe a 5-minute ride tops. Once there, we headed to the Skywalk, you´ll need to wear plastic coverings over your shoes (so as to not to scratch the glass floor panels on the deck) and leave your phone etc in a locker. The view is just ok, but you´ll get much better views (and photos for free) at the Guano Point to where there´s a free shuttle every 15 minutes or so. Had I known the difference in views, I would not have bought the overpriced "professional" photos at the Skywalk. The guy was simply snapping away the photos, and he took a look at the camera screen for a fraction of a second and concluded that the photo was ok. Turns out they were not that great, and I would not recommend to buy those photos unless you can verify yourself on the spot that the photos turn out as you want them. I can recommend Skywalk for the experience but it loses to Guano Point in views 6-0.

In fact, without Guano Point I would have felt very disappointed, and it was easily the high point of the visit. Be sure to climb to the highest point there for best views.

We drove from Las Vegas to The West Rim. It is a beautiful drive. I was so excited to see this part of the canyon and the skywalk!! We happened to hit a day where it was not busy. When we got to the skywalk it all changed!! They treat you like you are a criminal or more so like you are going through an airport TSA. AND you are not allowed to bring your phone or camera on the skywalk!!!! WHAT A SCAM!!!!! I was so upset!! This is why I arranged this whole little outing was for the photos!!!! If we would have had to wait in line for 2 hours (I read reviews where people waited 2-3 hour in peek season) this would have been an even worse review. Plus, if your tickets are on your phone the wifi is sketchy and the employees don't care!!
My recommendation is do not go on the skywalk just wander around the premises. It is a beautiful sight!! And worth going! Just DO NOT PAY FOR THE SKYWALK!!!
The Eagle Point rock formation is amazing!!
The second stop, Guano Point, is the most remarkable place!! This made the whole day worth it!! The little walk around is stunning and there is no guard rails so unobstructed views for miles!!
All in all it was beautiful!!!

Love the experience and view. Great place for nature lovers like me. It’s a step back in time and so breathtaking. I don’t mind the price because it goes to the Haulapai Tribe. They need our support and I will be going back for more. This is a place where you can feel your soul connected to the land and it’s history. I will stop by the gas station on the way there and tip the wonderful young man again if he’s still there. My heart goes out to the Haulapai people and will miss them. Greetings from Indiana and many years of success!!

We went to this part of the Grand Canyon because it was the closest to Las Vegas and it was worth it for the views. Spectacular photos from Guano Point. What is not worth it is the skywalk, very expensive for a viewpoint, they take away your cameras and cell phones and on top of that they charge you 25 dollars for one photo and 50 for several when the views are better from the other side.

By Markko T |

Views are nice, but we spent total 4 hours there out of which 2,5 hours waiting in the lines for bus, for the skywalk, waiting for our order for food taken. Very dissapinting. Food is terrible. Dont buy the ticket with meal. Prices are so high even for the bottle of water, it feels like a robbery.

By Will H |

Worth the drive from Vegas to visit the west rim of the Grand Canyon. Tickets are a little pricey but you will not regret this experience. Taking the shuttle bus can be a little slow as you have to wait for the next bus before going to the viewpoints. Guana Point is gorgeous!

By Jacobi |

Very commercialized - tour bus which dropped off at different locations to “view” guess it’s good for the reservations to generate money - however the other side of the canyon is far better to explore / hike in your own - a bus goes along the route to hop
On and hop off at different areas - so if somebody was u able to walk long distance cues this would be good - nice restaurants -

By Deb M |

Although we had looked at taking a guided tour we decided we would rent a car and explore ourselves. At least half the overall price. In saying that, prep for a long drive with snacks. We went to the West side as it was the closest time wise. First of all pictures never really give the canyon justice. It is breathtaking. When you get your ticket for entry they will bus you out to the first point to view. This area is a very touristy area. I think because of the walk about (you can’t bring cameras on) and the fact it is the closest to get to. After the visit here the bus comes every 20 min and they take you to the next viewing area. (I liked this one better) There are no railings when you walk out here so if you are afraid of heights be prepared. Im not necessarily afraid of heights but I am accident prone and was terrified of tripping and falling so I struggled with the overall safety precautions of just the signs saying not to go close to edge and then the signs on the other side of watch for falling rocks. Finally with a quick stop at the Hoover dam, overall it is worth spending your day doing the drive.
