Located in the heart of Manhattan, Grand Central Terminal is eye candy! A historic site, it is a functioning station as well as a tourist landmark.

Very impressive main concourse which is worth visiting. Iconic in so many movies. Some nice shops and restaurants too.

A must see when in New York. Combine with a visit to the Chrysler building which is located close by.
This station/ terminal is vast.
The concourse with the iconic gold clock is breathtaking.
The food court downstairs is very good with clean restrooms available. The oyster bar is worth a look too.
Don’t forget to look outside. Amazing building. A real transport hub.
Highly recommended. Worth going out of your way for.

I did not think I would be impressed going to Grand Central…until we got there. It is massive! Beautiful! This deserves all the positive reviews!! We had so much fun exploring. The architecture is just breathtaking. I am so glad I decided to go!!

Just the architecture alone is worth the visit. It’s really a beautiful train station in the heart of Manhattan. Best place to ride the subway lots of different routes from here and direct to Jersey 👍

Grand Central Terminal is so much more than a train station—it’s a destination in itself! We spent hours exploring its incredible food options and loved every bite. From classic New York-style pizza to Shake Shack’s famous burgers, and a wide variety of desserts to top it all off, there was something delicious at every turn.
We were genuinely surprised by the quality and variety of food available—it far exceeded our expectations for a transit hub! The bustling atmosphere, paired with the terminal’s historic architecture, made the experience even more memorable.
Whether you’re catching a train, grabbing a quick bite, or just soaking in the NYC vibe, Grand Central Terminal is a must-visit. Can’t wait to come back for another foodie adventure!

The beauty and imposition of this place is already worth a visit. With the Christmas fair, it gets even more inviting. Impossible not to remember Madagascar, Avengers and so many other movies and series.

Beautiful and unique. A space place where you'll have an amazing time, a place where you can have lunch, near the Summit, Bryan Park

Just to walk into this building, scene of so many film etc, was fabulous.
The architecture is stunning and it is in pristine condition. A busy bustling place that need to been see by an tourist to NY.
Was one of the first on my list of stops and I was not disappointed.
Well worth a visit

This station hall is a work of art in itself. Big and very nice! Worth a walk around here. There is also an Apple Store.

We made a visit to great terminal and loved this visit, you could say it is a must in any trip to New York and Manhattan. It's really worth spending a few hours here.

This terminal has it all. Amazing architecture; great location; interesting shopping, high end markets for fish, meat, and produce; various small shops; an Apple store overlooking it all; and good restaurants for every budget. Ans trains in and out of Manhattan!

Its enormous marble atrium, crossed every day by thousands of travelers and tourists, is one of the most visited attractions in New York. Its majestic beauty, combined with immortal scenes filmed here by great cinema, make it an unmissable destination. Inside there are also shops, bars and restaurants.

Great place to step out of the afternoon heat and grab a meal or snack. Lots of options in the Food Court, seating is limited so you might end up standing at a high top table.
Also good people watching with people entering and exiting the trains.
Lots of high end shop[ping upstairs.

Dwayne was our guide and he was fantastic.he was so informative.it is an amazing place tour took about an hour and was a great tribute to a great place.amazing architecture and amazing history.brilliant.

A train station is rarely a tourist destination. Grand Central Terminal is an exception because it seems to be in a sort of empty museum where the scenography is created by the people who move. The structure is imposing and the light that filters through the windows is striking. It is actually a very complex complex that due to time constraints we did not have the opportunity to visit in its entirety.

Beautiful piece of American history.
Worth my of a few hours to visit, I would highly recommend Luke’s Lobster Cafe in the dining hall.

Amazing place of Big Apple and I loved old Grand station. I can recall many movies from this place. I think it is must see place of New York. Its place where you take train other places.

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… twice because I love iconic places, incredible architecture, feeling the true pulse and rhythm of the city, classic old style buildings still in operation, and trains. What could be better for me?
The first time, I came with Princess Place Junior and we also explored the upstairs and downstairs and I snorted the ticket counters with the gilded iron grates on the window , circa 1860 st at the Metro North trains to Connecticut . We also explored the disappointing unimpressive downstairs food court. I went and looked Then we found our way to our LIRR train to Long Island.
The second time, I did more of the same, but by myself.
WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
It is free to go and explore
WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
Yes- for sure
ADVICE from IVTP
* Be sure to visit this place
* Admire the architecture inside and outside, including the amazing star constellation on the light blue ceiling of the grand foyer
* See the iconic ticket counters with the gilded bars ion the windows
* Watch everyone and all the commuters
* Avoid the disappointing downstairs food court

The image outside with the viaduct and the taxi is already beautiful, but the hall inside makes it complete: how wonderful the atmosphere must have been there in the past

Grand Central Terminal is beautiful. I fantastic building to be in. Always enjoy spending time here and admiring the architecture, seeing the hustle and bustle. It has many eateries, the whispering wall is fun, and it's a great place to catch trains from!

One of the most coveted sights of New York for me was the Grand Central Terminal and it was amazing. We went on Saturday morning, it was pretty empty. Love, the station is really beautiful.

Gigantic, grandiose. Accustomed to Parisian stations, I was surprised by the size of the building, the height of the ceilings, the immense Salle des Pas Perdus. When we arrive from the 42nd, we discover it wedged between the buildings, it doesn't look like much even if the architecture is impressive but once inside it's another dimension. It’s a shopping center, a TV or movie set, a gigantic meeting place and a train station! You have to go through it.

This iconic building is definitely worth a visit and there are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat inside even if you don't need transportation to anywhere. However, please be aware that there is basically nowhere to sit down unless you get a table at a sit down restaurant. There are no benches to be found and even the food court has standing only tables. Don't miss the zodiac ceiling.

Went through Grand Central Terminal several times as we traversed NYC via train and subway. What an amazing, beautiful building! I can't imagine anyting this beautiful being built by a municipality today ... MUST SEE!

Love this train station. So pretty, and full of people watching. We didn't take the train anywhere this time but enjoyed the many shops and food places inside. The energy here is fantastic too. it's the real NY.

We visited this iconic building at first glance it’s a wonderful building, but when you get to the platforms it is disgusting , so much rubbish on the tracks , the rats must have a party every night,

The soaring architecture is awe-inspiring, and the vibe is always buzzing with energy. It's like a city within a city. Grab a bite, shop around, or simply people-watch – there's a unique charm in every corner.

beautiful building with lots of shops ,market and eateries .Look at at ceiling in central atrium and try the whispering gallery

Grand Central is an iconic NYC landmark, and it's gorgeous. I love the architecture and history. On my visit, pianists from Julliard were playing in the main hall and there was a video display titled Dear New York showing on the walls. The display is normally in Vanderbilt Hall but that day there was a wedding so they relocated the display.

A little disappointing, like most New York Christmas markets. Very little craftsmanship, much trinketry for tourists. Otherwise, the station remains one of the most iconic places in the city.

Since I am from Long Island, I travel to NYC somewhat often on the LIRR. This was my first time traveling into Grand Central Station since it was added to the LIRR service. All I can say is, wow! Walking into the main concourse from the tracks is quite an experience. The cavernous, ornate ceilings and marble walls are breathtaking. It has become a NYC landmark for a reason: Grand Central is a masterpiece of architecture and design. Plenty of interesting quirks and details to see, like many ornately designed buildings of that era. Also lots of interesting places to eat in the dining concourse. If your in the area, it’s worth a look.
As a train station, it functions pretty well. The building is huge, so it doesn’t feel super crowded even during the bustle of rush hour. Signage is clear and very visible. I might add that if you are taking the LIRR from Grand Central, the tracks are in a separate wing of the station, which is a bit of a walk. Make sure to leave some extra time.

I have no words to describe the majesty of this place, the American flag that dominates the gigantic room, a crossroads of the United States, is impressive. There is a huge restaurant industry with major US brands. It is one of the places in New York that lends itself best to dozens of shots.

Grand Central Terminal is a New York architectural gem, located at 89 East 42nd Street (at Park Avenue). The vaulted ceiling of the main lobby features a gold leaf mural of the 12 Zodiac Constellations, along with 2,500 stars. The Information Kiosk clock, made of opal, is famous. With local suppliers of fresh products, the place is a food market. The Tiffany Clock, on 42nd Street, is adorned with figures of Greek gods representing Mercury, Hercules and Minerva; The clock measures more than 4 meters in diameter. The Station is decorated with architectural motifs in oak and acorn leaves. Unmissable place in New York.

Yet another review where I mention having seen it on TV and in films.
The whole terminal is an iconic place, which filled me with awe. The art deco interior is so lovely that you risk bumping into people as you look everywhere. The whole place really is just like you'd imagine, but at last, I got to stand and admire it.
The Whispering Gallery (just outside the Oyster Bar) is totally fascinating! Stand in one corner, have someone diagonally opposite you, and talk quietly to each other. It really works! And then stand and watch others doing exactly what you've just done yourself, and see the look of amazement on their faces that would have been on your own just minutes before.
And then you actually can catch trains here, of course. We got one to Tarrytown/Sleepy Hollow, and the trip up along the Hudson River was worth the few hours away.
This is one place that I feel everyone 'should' visit.

We could not have been happier with this hotel. It's on Lexington and 44th Street E so extremely close to Grand Central. We were in for the final Billy Joel concert. When we first arrived our smoke detector was chirping The maintenance man came repaired but unfortunately when we came back after the show it was still chirping and they offered us the option of moving to another room or disconnecting as maintenance is there at 11:45pm. They couldn't have been kinder or more apologetic. When we arrived back to our room two bottles of water and sweets were awaiting us. I loved the location and right next door is a deli where you can get a scrambled egg and bagel sandwich for $5.50. Super convenient and the price was amazing. Go there. You won't be disappointed.

Grand Central Terminal is a must-visit historical landmark when you're in NYC. Even though it's one of the largest and busiest train stations in the world, it somehow doesn't feel overwhelming.
Hundreds of thousands of commuters and tourists pass through daily, but the flow is so smooth you barely notice. The place is huge, clean, safe and absolutely stunning. People come for history and the architecture, the soaring ceilings, arches, courtyards, and of course, the iconic central clock (which is believed to be original).
There are great dining options too, including famous spots like Cipriani Dolci, the Grand Central Oyster Bar, coffee shops, and bakeries. It's also been featured in tons of movies. Definitely worth a stop!

Grand Central Terminal is a vast place. The building is an architectural wonder. It's a major transport hub in the centre of the city. It's worth visiting just to admire the beautiful architecture.

This is a historic part of NYC, and I do not understand why no one who works there can tell you something about this incredible building. Its seen so much in its life time, there was an Art School there long ago, no one knows anything about it or where it was or if you can even see it anymore. The food hall was below average this time around. But the hustle and bustle was still there. The building is still something to see.
AND I love the new connection to One Vanderbilt too.

It is doable in a wheelchair, bear in mind some slopes inside the station are very long and high, so can be hard to go down and definitely hard to go up if you are in a manual chair. To take pictures of the station from a second floor you have to go outside and enter through a specific entrance. There are lifts somewhere too

If you like American movies, you're already familiar with this place. It's one of the most iconic places in the world, and the atmosphere inside is attractive.

We loved Grand Central Terminal. We stayed nearby so went in everyday. Beautiful ceiling in the main concourse. There is a Dining Concourse downstairs where we grabbed a bite to eat in the morning. We ate at Cental Park. Also shout out to the MTA Police who generously gave us their time especially POs Caitlin and K9 Emilia and PO Molloy. Hopefully we will be back soon!

Very large train station with shops and restaurants. Very nice train station and for fans of Gossip Girl, being on the scene of the series is pretty cool!

Stunning station. So glad it didn’t suffer the same fate as Penn Central where Madison Square Gardens now stands. Must see even if you’re not traveling by train.

Probably one of the most impressive things we saw in New York. Both internally and externally the station is stunning and it has so much going on inside. Much more than a station and needs to be seen in person.

Think of a beautiful place! The biggest train station in the world! And inside there are several options of restaurants and shops. There's even an Apple store. Beautiful place to take beautiful photos. Follow @ellenwithe on Instagram for travel tips and sights around the world.

Huge but the architecture is stunning. Really something. Best to go when it is busy and in full swing. Just observe and take it all in.

An important station for the city. The central area is beautiful, reminiscent of many films shot in that location

Grand Central Station is a very impressive building and well worth a visit, even if you are not using it for train travel. The station is impeccable clean. When we were there there was live classical music being played and an art show was being projected onto the walls featuring photographs and stories from the Humans of New York project.

Iconic place to see and experience. Part of me felt like I have moved back in time with such grandiose on display. Great atmosphere and worth seeing this historic place.

Scene of movies and a very beautiful architecture, worth the visit, go down and eat something underground, there are very good restaurants and snack bars.

Well worth a visit.
Clean, fantastic venue with lots to see and a food court that gave us a few good options for breakfast.
The decor and architecture are fantastic. Great to see this preserved and in full use.

Both adults and children will be amazed at this station with a unique ceiling. Without forgetting that it is active. The urge comes to take a train and leave

Super clean station, magnificent, impressive structure. It really doesn't feel like you're in a train station. To have. My daughter, a GOSSIP GIRLS fan, took xx photos!

A station hall certainly seen many times in films. But still just a station hall.
A shopping center with multiple restaurants. Spend 5 minutes there but no more

Grand Central Terminal is a living testament to the city's history. Its impressive architecture and constant bustle create a unique atmosphere that invites you to explore and immerse yourself in its legacy.

It's like a gothic cathedral, spacious with soaring ceiling. This soaring ceiling is painted like the night sky. So much gorgeous marble. What a beautiful way to enter the city. A good restaurant and a super market inside. And it works well as a train station. So happy that it was not torn down, thank you Jackie O.

Every time I walk in here, I’m in awe. Between the Holiday market and the downstairs food hall and market, this is no ordinary terminal.
All it’s missing to be deemed truly magical is platform 9 and 3/4 (that’s an attempt at a Harry Potter joke…)
For those interested in the ideal photo spot, I’d recommend heading to the Apple Store. You won’t be the only tourist trying to capture the beauty that is this New York staple.

The celestial ceiling is breathtaking, and the sheer scale of the space is awe-inspiring. Every detail, from the grand staircases to the ornate chandeliers, exudes a sense of magnificent grandeur. A must-see for anyone visiting New York City.

Its a super beautiful train station, I can honestly say that its the most beautiful train station I have ever been in. I enjoyed standing at the top of the steps and taking it all in.
Lots of places to eat and easy to get lost in!
I saw people having their wedding photography dont here, I can completly understand why!
I would have liked to have spent more time here - I dont think my childen were as enthuiastic about this place as I was!

Great place, love the architecture. The Apple Store in Grand Central is amazing, had my first Apple Vision Pro demo experience which was brilliant. This Vision Pro is not available in UK. Also visited the shuttle platform between Grand Central & Times Sq which was filmed in my favourite movie French Connection. Shame the custard cart is no more, but i is the same steps and platform Charnier and Gene Hackman used.

OMG! What a beautiful place. Must see when in NY! It’s free so it should be on everyone’s list. The whole downstairs is filled with places to eat - great for breakfast. They even have an Apple Store ⭐️⭐️⭐️

A beautiful building with a fascinating history and stunning architecture that makes a grand impression! I stayed in a hotel nearby and couldn't resist walking through the station at every opportunity. The windows, chandeliers, and arched halls are incredible. It's hard to believe that the main concourse walls are made from artificial stone that had been molded and tinted to simulate French limestone, which is used in Notre Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, the Statue of Liberty's base, and the Empire State Building's lobby. If you're in New York, add this to your bucket list of things to do – you'll have an awesome backdrop!

I was amazed when I first saw Grand Central from afar, but even more so when I stepped inside—it’s absolutely stunning! The grand architecture, iconic celestial dome, and lively atmosphere are breathtaking. I was also surprised to find an Apple Store inside, plus plenty of food and drink options. It’s a perfect mix of history, convenience, and modern flair!

A stunning building and well worth the visit. Its easy to forget its a train station. Great architecture and very clean. A most on a visit to NYC.

It may seem strange how one of the most beautiful things to see is a station but it's true. A place used by numerous film sets it becomes a place of passage where the trains cannot be seen unless they go to the side doors and to the floors below. Marble and brass take you back in time and the cleanliness and details make the place particularly fascinating. On the floor below there is the restaurant area with specialties for all tastes. In the middle you can find the whisper room where the curved ceiling allows you to be heard by those in the opposite corner. Try it, it's fun. Admire the station also from the outside, from park avenue

Absolutely beautiful station. A must see if in NYC. The setting for so many films. The ceiling is breathtaking and the whispering gallery is definitely worth a visit.

Great tour full of fun facts. John DeSanto was a great knowledgeable tour guide full of fun facts. Even as a native New Yorker I loved the tour!

Walking into Grand Central Terminal was like walking into a movie set. Wow, how many times have you seen the station on the cinema and our TV's.
It's such an iconic location and we had to go.
We visited the main terminal where you could see the familiar sites and we also went for something to eat and drink in the food hall.
The food hall had a good selection of places to order from including Magnolia Bakers, Joe's Coffee to make a couple.
We absolutely loved seeing the terminal so worth wandering around

Like a giant ant's mound, grand central dominates a city block above the surface, but the real action is underground, with tunnels and passages connecting the whole city. Just the main concourse is already worth the visit!!

XOXO Gossip Girl. Another popular film location in New York is the Grand Central Terminal. It is the largest train station in the world and is in the heart of Manhattan. The station hall is enormous and not without reason has it appeared in numerous films. Especially striking is the elegant station clock, which draws all eyes to it. The artistic ceiling vault displays the starry sky in impressive detail.
Today, around 750,000 people pass through the station daily.
Of course, we couldn’t miss this visit, especially because of the series Gossip Girl, which I watched in my youth. The iconic opening scene of the show, where Serena van der Woodsen dramatically appears at the terminal just before her return to New York, is perhaps the most famous moment of the series.

Easy to follow, informative and loved that you can go at your own pace. Would have liked an option to speed up the narration.

I saw someone today with a t-shirt for Grand Central Station. What a great choice! And what a great idea to visit this vital transportation hub and see it as an architectural gem. Thank Jackie Kennedy for working so hard to keep it from being torn down. Now it works as a train station, but also as a palace, a food market, a place to go for a meal, a place to hang out. I love coming here.

The interior architecture is still astounding and beautiful. I cannot fault it and you should definitely stop off and admire it.
When I visited ten years ago the whole station was a marvel. Now most of the second floor is overtaken by the Apple shop with staff asking us if we wanted help whilst we are trying to admire the beautiful chandeliers which was a disappointment.
Downstairs there used to be a busy indoor market which is now only half the size it used to be and as a result with nowhere near as many stalls or variety.
Additionally the food hall used to be a thriving centre of street food with a great atmosphere and an assault of smells. Now all the independent food sellers have gone replaced by run of the mill chains, there is no atmosphere and we didn’t even eat here as we planned to do because the food on offer was so poor

Grand Central Terminal – New York is located in the heart of Manhattan Island in Midtown, New York.
It is the intersection of New York's railways and subways, the station with the most tracks in the world, and one of the favorite filming locations for many movie scenes.
"Avengers", "Jedi Men", "MIB", "The End of the World", "The Godfather", etc. have all come here for filming

Wow the beautiful grand central station of New York is such a beautiful place! Perfect for stop by walk around and take pictures!

It’s a must-see place. The station is magnificent, it feels like a movie. I advise visiting the station hall in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Grand Central Terminal at New York City ( NYC) is one of the most famous -- visited destinations in NYC this historic world famous landmarks in Midtown. Manhattan...it was make a marble building with a nice view inside of the terminal..most visitors a must to visit this Grand Central Terminal. You must see the beauty of this place. Its a beautiful and very presentable. Come and visit the place you are not doubt it....

Grand Central Station is a gorgeous station especially during Christmas time as there is a holiday market and wreaths hung. I highly recommend stopping in here even if it’s just to admire the stunning architecture, especially during Christmas.

Another great activity to do when it is pouring rain outside, well, also a great activity is it is nice outside for this building oozes with history, is full of little secrets to find, is beautiful and to top it all off, it is free to enter!!!!
Built back in the 1870s by Cornelius Vanderbilt when train travel was the rage, but by the 1950s cars and planes had surpassed trains as the main means of getting from point A to point B, and the station fell into disrepair, it lost its National Landmark status and was scheduled to be torn down, replaced by a new skyscraper. But Jackie Onassis and legendary architect Philip Johnson banded together to form the Committee to Save Grand Central Station and succeeded. The building was cleaned up, layers and layers of soot and grime were removed from the walls and ceiling. The ceiling constellations once again could be seen from below, broken windows replaced, trash removed, and the station was expanded. Today it is such a vibrant area. People scurrying to catch their train, shops and eateries abound and everywhere there is motion and activity. We loved walking about taking it all in.
and.......
if you know about them, you can go find little secret areas like the Whispering Wall, and the black tile, and the glass walkways, and constellations painted backwards...so many fun things to discover. When in NYC, do stop in to visit this grand building.

The one and only New York City Grand Central...the building is alive and breathing with people and activity. NYC icon, not to miss.

I'm amazed to see some people rate Grand Central Terminal as anything but a must see 5 star experience. This is an absolute must see both during the day and especially at night when its not busy and you can truly appreciate the history of this place. Few places in NY made an impression on us as much as Grand Central Station did. From the ceilings to the madness of the day travelers to the architecture and most impressive the utility of it. Its a must see both day and night.

Great building to learn a little about the history of NY.
Perfectly cared for and maintained. One of the must-sees in Manhattan.
The restaurants inside are very good.

Nice place to make a quick visit! Place that gives you a unique feeling! Must visit also seen the fact that it is free

We left this as an option for our last day, although both wanted to see it for its Art Deco architecture. As it was raining biblically, and we could, after a brief walk in the rain, board the purple eastbound subway line direct to it, we went. It is truly magnificent and has been beautifully restored, but I'm glad we didn't pay $35 each for a "secret" tour. The marble! The ceiling! The facade! The fabulous signs for the food area. The clock (not as large as I'd envisaged, but very beautiful all the same) The lack of seats (see also JFK airport) - is this an American "thing"? Not feeling rich enough or inclined to sample the oyster/lobster bar, we grabbed a coffee and vainly looked for somewhere to sit. Issuing out into the still torrential rain to the signed taxi rank, there were no taxis. At all. A 25 minute wait ensued, and eventually by dint of rushing across the road and virtually hurling ourselves under the wheels of one, we managed it. It seems extraordinary that a vast station, with an advertised cab rank has none. Apparently it was due to the rain.

A must see. Grab a table at Cecconi's and watch the world come and go whilst having a Bellini. Its so beautiful and worth a good walk around. Go downstairs and visit the famous Oyster bar and whisper into the vaulted ceiling corner to corner. Its iconic and the setting for so many famous fashion pics and movies. Just stunning.

beautiful terminal, both exterior and interior, you get many photo opportunities, even the elevator, the chandeliers are worth to take a look, one of the famous attraction in NYC

its a great station. very beautiful. looking back wish we would have spent more time here for some reason and just admiring it more and maybe having more personal pictures

Iconic place of the city for its historical value is a must visit and look up deserves!!!!

When visiting the city I aways try to stop at Grand Central Terminal. It is a must see architectural gem. The terminal is a testimony to building preservation. There are several restaurants and shops in the terminal.

Grand Central Terminal (popularly: Grand Central Station) was commissioned in 1913. It is a so-called head station and has the most platforms in the world: 44 platforms and 67 tracks for train and metro. Around 575,000 passengers use this station every day. The majestic central hall is in Art Nouveau style and is beautifully decorated. The turquoise ceiling with astronomical images immediately catches the eye. The constellations appear to be depicted in mirror image. This would not be a mistake, but the intention because it reflects how God sees it from above. Furthermore, a striking clock with four dials on the information point in the middle of the hall. Each side of the clock is made of opal, so the value of the clock is estimated at between ten and twenty million dollars. Fun of course, all these facts. But look around and enjoy all that beauty!

We stopped in Grand Central terminal just to take a look. I was very glad we did! We walked a couple of blocks underground and visited the Main Concourse.

Oh, wonderful, too beautiful, a place to meet and admire. Except there you take the train to leave the island and the subway that connects the whole city. For those who are fans of Apple has a wonderful store.

An imposing and iconic station in NYC, I consider it unmissable due to its historical value and because it is the setting for so many legendary films!

We did a VoiceMap audio tour of Grand Central, providing us with an informative, humorous, absorbing (and free!) way to discover all the features of this marvellous station.

No trip to New York is complete without a visit to Grand Central Station, as unlike most places in New York, it is free to visit. The most visited area of the station is the grand hall, which is beautifully decorated and is a vast space.
If you use the station for transport, it's always best to ask for directions, as it's a rabbit warren to navigate around.

Good for photo opportunities, nothing really to do here just an iconic building in NYC. Quick photo then back to NYC

Iconic and seen in films. For those who have seen gossip girls passing through this place it brings emotions and memories. Quick but a must visit.

The intricate details of the marble walls and the iconic clock were remarkable, yet the terminal felt a bit overwhelming at times. We enjoyed grabbing a quick bite at one of the eateries, but the sheer size made it hard to appreciate everything in one visit.

They cancelled our tour as we all waited. The guide didn’t show and no one stepped in. There were several at the booth. Headphones had been handed out

The architecture, ceiling and elegant staircases make it a unique place, crossed by a continuous coming and going of people. A symbol of New York and the history of cinema that is always worth seeing.

I have to go through it to take two pictures and remember the many movies they made. I have to say kept well and better than the last time I was... many years ago

The station is very nice and large.
Beautiful architecture!
Lots of shops and cafes, restaurants to stroll.

Iconic Station, beautiful and very helpful staff! We went through a few times when we were visiting the Big Apple and it was quite pleasant. We even had lunch at the storied Oyster Bar restaurant. It is a must-use, must-see of course in any NYC visit.

What about one of the most beautiful stations in the world, a back and forth of passengers as well as tourists who came to admire the beauty of the place.

We stopped by Central Terminal during our stay in New York. It is a train station of beautiful architecture, and very well decorated, including the ceiling which is very beautiful. Now I do not think that his visit is indispensable, nevertheless, to visit the surroundings, it is still worth a look.

Grand Central Terminal is not just a station, it is a real monument of New York, an iconic place that embodies the elegance and grandeur of the city. As soon as you cross the threshold of the Main Concourse, your gaze is immediately captured by its magnificent vault frescoed with the celestial constellations on an aquamarine blue-green background... a breathtaking sight that makes you roll your eyes to the sky even indoors!
Its location is simply perfect, nestled between some of Manhattan's most iconic skyscrapers, such as the impressive MetLife Building (which stands right above part of the station) and the gleaming Chrysler Building nearby. This contrast between the historic architecture of the station and the modern urban environment that surrounds it is fascinating.
But Grand Central is also a place full of life and hidden little wonders. In addition to its visual beauty, it is a crossroads of fascinating people, stories and details.
Some curiosity:
* Did you know that the ceiling fresco contains an "error"? The constellations are painted in reverse to how we would see them from Earth, as if they were seen from outside the universe!
* There is a "Whispering Gallery" near the Oyster Bar & Restaurant, where the particular acoustics allow two people placed on opposite corners of the arch to whisper messages to each other and hear themselves perfectly. Trying to believe!
* The four-sided clock above the Information Booth in the Main Concourse is a very famous meeting point and is valued at millions of dollars, as each face is made of opal.
Visiting Grand Central Terminal is a must for anyone in New York. It is a place that makes you feel part of the history of the city and leaves you speechless for its beauty and secrets.

This is next to the Chrysler building so you can combine visits to this and the lobby of the Chrysler building. Felt very safe loads of uniformed staff and police around. Beautiful building, stairs at either end to assist in getting great (not mine) elevated photos of inside. Great location for the staff in the Apple shop to work at one end! Worth a walk around.

Grand Central Terminal is one of those places that never gets old, no matter how many times you visit. The architecture is stunning, the ceiling alone is worth looking up for, and there’s an incredible energy to the space that feels very New York.
Even on a busy summer day, it’s easy to find quieter moments, whether you’re watching the movement from the balcony, walking through the passageways, or grabbing a quick break nearby. It’s both a functioning transit hub and a historic landmark, which makes it special.
Whether you’re passing through or visiting intentionally, it’s absolutely worth slowing down and taking it in.

It is just a train station - but I knew that before going. I wouldn’t go out of my way to see it but I do recommend it if you’re nearby as it is a beautiful building

With its continuous comings and goings of passengers, one of the most emblematic and representative places of New York City's frenzy

NYC Central Station, an interesting but fast pass.
A very nicely decorated place where you can also directly access the Summit One experience.
The station is located very close to the Library, so it is an easy passage to integrate into your visit.

Simply stand in the large hall and let the bustle around you take effect. A great experience

Truly one of the most beautiful and elegant power plants in the world, very large and with a lot of history, it is a must-see in NY.

Very beautiful, historic building. Worth a visit. Wherever you go you will meet a lot of people, train passengers and visiting tourists. Some legend says that if you whisper in one corner of the Whispering Arch, someone else in the opposite corner can hear you. I didn't hear anything! At one point I thought I heard songs but it was from someone's cell phone next door...

Experiencing the hustle and bustle of this iconic landmark is a must when in New York City. You can shop, grab a meal, or simply admire the stunning architecture.
Don’t forget to snap a photo of the multi-million dollar Tiffany glass clock, and let your imagination run wild—maybe you’ll spot a Russian spy or clandestine exchange, just like in the movies.
We giggled like kids when we found the Whispering Gallery—and yes, it really works! We were whispering sweet nothings to each other while crowds bustled by. A violinist busker at the top of the stairs added to the drama and magic, playing beautifully beneath the glittering chandeliers.
Stand in a corner and just watch the world go by—you won’t regret it.

Fantastic Grand Central Station!!! Very pretty and hides some secrets! The ceiling, for example! Depending on the time you visit, it is very busy.
The number of movies filmed there comes to mind!!

Fantastic place with a lot of history, a place that has been the setting for many films, when you arrive and see it for the first time it is exciting.

When visiting New York this iconic building is a must visit. The architecture is just fantastic and the food court downstairs is a great place to grab a snack or just a coffee.

Very nice station, a little too busy in fact.
It's as if we found ourselves in a film or a series, everything is the same!

Unmissable monuments of the city of New York lots of charm and with access to all major American cities film scenes 🎥 were filmed in this place to see near the metro and direct central station

I don't really know what I expected, but it was underwhelming. We stopped and had about 20 minutes to explore. I think 10 would have been sufficient. It's more like a place to go to just to say you've been there. I'm a tourist so I am sure it is very different for native New Yorkers. The ceiling was pretty, but that was about it.

The building is very nice, with different options to eat or even buy some souvenirs. The bad, it's bustling, a lot of people and therefore... very dirty at certain times of the day!

Incredibly large, nerve center of rail connections with other cities and states. Very famous for its central hall (focus of many films) as well as for the style and architectural decoration inside. It has dining options inside. I marveled at the clock on the facade.

Very nice and very famous building, but in the end it is forever a station.
To visit if you are in the area, I would not make a detour on purpose.

Always worth a visit, even if just to take a few selfies! Looks great from the outside and it's fabulous inside. We explored everywhere and went down to the track for the first time.
Iconic building.

Grand Central never disappoints. No matter how many times I visit, I leave feeling genuinely amazed and reminded of the energy and excitement that makes New York City so special. The architecture alone is breathtaking, it perfectly captures the timeless beauty of NYC.
It’s become a must-stop for me every time I’m in the city. On our last two trips, we paired it with a visit to Summit One, which made the experience even more memorable.

We got here very early and glad we did. The station was very quiet and got plenty of beautiful photos. Definitely recommend getting there early

This is of course one of the most iconic landmarks in New York City. As a local (I live in Brooklyn) it's still nice to visit Grand Central once in a while. Lots of shops and things to explore. There's even a little Transit Museum hidden in there, if you can find it. Quite pleasant but also extremely crowded. You can also take the 4/5/6 trains uptown to 86st to see the Met museum, so I would suggest stopping at Grand Central. But overall, I wouldn't say that it is one of the most amazing landmarks in NYC, as it's swarmed by tourists and crowds all the time. Definitely worth a visit however.

Still Grand. Amazing architecture, expansive, imposing, impressive and much cleaner than when I commuted here in the 1970's. The food court has come back to life after a few tough years, and the selections are vast and diverse, just like NYC itself. Go down below and check out the new LIRR station that they almost secretly built!!! Very impressive and designed to be compatible with the old terminal. GCT is the heart of New York City, so even if you don't use the trains, it is well worth a visit.

We enjoyed a good wander about - the station is huge and a very impressive building - lots of food vendors in the lower level.

Iconic, majestic. The eyes are not enough to appreciate so much beauty. Setting for many movies, unmissable walk.

We visited Grand Central Terminal at evening rush hour. The architecture is fabulous with the celestial ceiling. We tried to avoid people racing for the trains. It is worthwhile no-cost site to visit. The tours closed while we were there but I would consider it on future visit.

GOSSIP GIRL a must-see for fans of this series with its famous staircase, very pretty station and grandiose, a must-do

The list of places to see in New York, this , for some reason , wasnt on my list. My son said I should see it as its stunning. He was not wrong. We even went twice, once at night and once during the day. This must be the most beautiful station we have seen..I loved it

I loved our visit to this icon. I knew about the whispering gallery but was wandering around enjoying all of the surroundings reminiscent of so many classic images, when I sneezed and realised we were in the right spot!
After a bit of play we then moved into the food area and then up into the main concourse. How anyone could not be loved by the grandeur of the structure and the ceiling is beyond me. One of my favourite experiences. Rightly in the top 10 of things to do.

The new AWESOME LIRR in Grand Central Station (GCS) in NYC!!!
On the west/Vanderbilt St side of GCS, take the escalator below the Main Concourse to the Madison Concourse.
Go through blue-green doors and turn right.
The concourse is newly built, spacious, CLEAN, no stinky smell, with three NYPD posts & several cops, CLEAN restrooms with paper pads for toilets seats, shops, food, drinks.
The LIRR Ticketing and Customer Service is at this level (3rd down from the Main Concourse).
Take the deep escalator (seems to be 6-7 floors high) down (one each at 45th, 46th, 47th Sts).
There are elevators between the 46th & 47th exits.
Look for your track on the monitor which is accessible through another escalator down or up.
Once in the platform for track 302, the first car is the tail of the train. I describe this so those with motion sickness could choose a seat facing the front.
There is internet connectivity four levels beneath street level.
Let’s hope LIRR and us, rail riders, maintain this wonder in NYC, especially the restrooms!

It is primarily a huge train station and transport hub for the metro in a very beautiful building but also houses shops and numerous restaurants

This has to be the most stunning train station I have ever seen!
The detail that has gone into the decorating of the station is stunning! I have never seen a station with chandeliers before! The station gives off a rich vibe with it’s expensive look but welcomes everyone!
It is a definite must see even if you’re not going to catch a train!

The Official Guided Tour is a must. Be sure it's that tour. Our guide was terrific. You get head sets, so you can hear. Learn about the Vanderbuilts as well as the terminal. Our guide was very knowledgeable and had fun facts to share.

We went to see the whispering arch as my girlfriend wanted to go, it really works.
Plus we wandered the halls and markets and apple shops.
Worth a quick visit.

Arguably one of the most beautiful train stations in the world. Beaux-Artes style architecture with an elegant interior but also so much history. Opened in 1913, it remains one of the busiest train stations in the world. Centrally located so very easy to pay a visit if you are in Midtown Manhattan and very much worth a stop.

As a local, it's easy to overlook the architectural details and beauty of Grand Central Terminal.
When your train stops here on a regular basis, the terminal is just a pit stop in your day to day activities.
Yet, when I pause to take it all in, I realize it far surpasses any train station I've experienced, even those in Europe.
The moment you step inside, the breathtaking Beaux-Arts architecture captivates you, just don't stand still in the middle of it all or you'll get knocked down by all the commuters rushing past.
The grand corridors, soaring ceilings adorned with a beautiful celestial dome, which I had never noticed before until I looked up, there are so many details that are a feast for the eyes.
Grand Central isn’t just a transit hub; it's a vibrant representation of New York City’s spirit.
Strong, powerful, always moving forward.
I saw groups of tourists were either taking photos of the terminal or with one another.
Since its the holidays, there's a fair in Vanderbilt Hall with over a dozen vendors selling jewelry, hand bags, arts and crafts, soap and perfume.
There were plenty of people browsing, but there was nothing special about these stalls I haven't seen before in Union Square and Bryant Park.
It’s so easy to overlook the beauty we have right here at home, but I've recently found a deeper appreciation for the famous sites in my hometown.
Take a few minutes to check out the whispering gallery, where you can share secrets with a friend, which I learned about from a novel.
You can't miss the variety of shops and eateries that cater to every possible taste or retail therapy if the urge strikes you.
I'm taking the time to visit and appreciate and be grateful all the beauty, culture, and art that's so close to home.

absolutely stunning architecture inside and outside. One of the most iconic structures of New York City, the grand central station is beautifully done up and huge.
its just steeped in history and the lights, kiosks, people are just a part of the yesteryears. loved it. the Grand central market is also superb.
ont miss the dining concourse they have everything down there including Magnolia Bakery.
Also houses the coolest Apple store.:)

Everything in New York is built big! If you are an architect you are going to enjoy it a lot and even if you are not (as is my case) you will be left with your mouth open. Yes, I am an inveterate film buff and New York has appeared (and appears) in so many films, that it is a constant enjoyment. It is a very photogenic city. This train terminal is amazing, especially its lobby with huge windows through which the sun's rays come in, and a huge ceiling with paintings of the symbols of the zodiac. It's absolutely great.

In addition to GCT being a subway and transportation hub, they have seasonal events throughout the year. Located adjacent to the Main Concourse, Vanderbilt Hall is a stunning event space area. From November 13- December 24, 2023, there are over 30 pop-up spaces for small business owners. Top of the line artistic textiles, knitwear, jewelry, prints, ornaments, accessories, homewear, etc. are available for your shopping pleasure.

Entering Grand Central felt like stepping into a timeless masterpiece. The stunning architecture took our breath away! We wandered through the iconic concourse, sharing whispers and laughter. The celestial dome above us made it feel like we were in a dream.

magnificent exterior and interior. the grandiose view inside the ceiling is exceptional. the gallery next door and very beautiful

Visit to the great central station we always saw it in series and movies and the truth is great and very beautiful and with passengers back and forth

Such a cool building. Definitely check out the ceiling and the whispering corner. Amazing in such a loud place you can hear someone whispering from so far away.

This was a beautiful place with amazing architecture and great people watching. We really liked the food court and grocery store/market as well.

Grand Central Terminal is simply amazing. I had visited the main concourse before but was pleasantly suprised to find so much more throughout the terminal corridors, including shopping, dining, and excellent quick bites.

Mythical station that you have to go see for its magnificent architecture! Don't forget to look up to admire the ceiling!

We went very early and got there at about 7.15 on a Sunday morning so a great time to get photos without too many people in the way. A very impressive place which you should visit. Glad we came.

Grand Central Terminal is a Beaux-Arts machine for orchestrating flow, turning the daily movement of trains and crowds into a single, legible spectacle beneath its restored celestial ceiling. The latest renovations keep that infrastructural grandeur alive while layering in a dense mix of retail and dining, making the building feel at once like a preserved civic icon and a carefully commercialized interior city.

It's a must-see if you are visiting NYC. Plenty of walk-up dining, and assorted shops when you are not admiring the wonderful history and architecture. Oh and free, pretty clean and safe public restrooms. And PLENTY of New York's Finest (NYPD) to keep you safe. And don't forget a Black & White cookie from Zaro's !

We visited to admire the building from inside and out. What beautiful workmanship and such a spacious building. Would recommend anyone passing pop in and have a look around

A historic must-see for NYC. A beautiful train station with impressive architecture.
Not as crowded as many other landmarks.

A very beautiful architecture and its place has given several films of world renowned films. With more than 60 shops and numerous upscale restaurants and bars, it also contains a library, event hall, tennis club, control center and offices for the railway, and an underground power plant.
And worth admiring is the famous watch considered an iconic symbol of the station, four-sided located above the information booth at the Main Concourse. it is made of brass and the watch faces are made of precious opal and estimated to be worth several million dollars.
This station has 75 tracks and about 50 platforms where several NY subway lines meet in addition to the train.
And not to mention that in this train terminal is the most beautiful subway station in New York.

This station is huge commute hub and the interior is lovely, many trains departing ,ticked it off but nothing extraordinary here

I loved it! The station is so iconic and beautiful. The architecture is incredible! There is also so many shops, cafes, restaurants, bakeries, and stands here as well as a market! There was also a trumpet player who sounded amazing and made the vibe so much better. I highly recommend coming here!

Wow! We had no idea what to expect , it is like an underground city ,full of shops , restaurants etc.
The main hall is an incredible piece of architecture , quite mind blowing and so beautifully decorated for the holiday season. We spent ages walking around different parts of this architectural masterpiece.
Definitely worth a visit.

A train station. Trains. That's what you might think. But not just!
There is a gallery full of good things to eat and discover!
It is an emblematic place of several films, the architecture is incredible...
For a few minutes of visit, you have a wonderful memory.

Family tour of NY (December 2023) with 4 year old child. If you’re walking around NYC and you’re close to the Grand Central Terminal take 10 minutes to get in, it’s free and the place is great!

- the animals in the movie "madagascar" ran away this way!
- these windows have exploded many times in movies!
- also I bought my new macbook here ❤️

Absolutely beautiful architecture inside. From the stone to the chandeliers. If you are a Gossip Girl fan, you can take the iconic photo there. Worth a 20 minute stop.

Even though the terminal is massive, it is actually easy to find your way around and find your station. Went out of here on the Metro-north Hudson Line

Iconic location . I was taking subway from
Lower level , but upper level is that iconic million dollar shot from many movies .
It’s a very crowded but very beautiful place . Go see it !

Great monument where trains and metro lines converge. The lobby is wonderful with its famous clock, incredible architecture, magnificent chandeliers, the ceiling that changes according to the time. She's majestic.

Grand Central Terminal is a magnificent architectural gem that seamlessly blends history with functionality. Its iconic celestial ceiling, elegant design, and bustling atmosphere create a timeless and enchanting experience. A must-visit for both commuters and tourists seeking a glimpse of New York City's rich cultural heritage.

Feeling for a moment in Europe. A place to admire, enjoy and eat. From having a lobster roll 🦞, enjoying fresh oysters to end with a sweet from Magnolias. Grand Central Terminal is a must stop in NYC.

The building is already very impressive
The whole world comes together there feeling. You can shop there until 8 pm
I didn't visit the Oyster Bar. Brings time, you can't even find the right track

Recently, I was at Grand Central to take the new LIRR train location.
While waiting for my train, I stood
around and took in the sights.
The hustle and bustle is something to see.
Check out the food court and store options. I did stop by the MTA store on the lower level but was disappointed at how small the store is now.
Also, I went to the whisper dome to watch everyone doing the same thing, standing on opposite ends of the dome and whispering to find out if they could hear each other.
Finally, I went down below... very down below.. to catch my train home. The new LIRR terminal is amazing. Can't wait for some stores and shops to open down there.
Word of advice.. give yourself extra time from the street even to the LIRR tracks. Unlike Penn Station, the LIRR trians are NOT close to street level. You gotta go down several levels, then still walk a distance to get to your track.
If you think you can do a last-minute run to your train from street level, you WILL miss your train.

This station is like no other… being from the U.K grand central is just beautiful. The whole of the station is clean, no litter, not overcrowded and the decor is beaut.
We went through here and also the went to simply look around and it didn’t disappoint. A must go to if a gossip girl fan but even if you’re not it’s worth stopping by.

This for me was the high spot of New York, strange but true I simply adore Art Deco and this is probably the finest example of Art Deco architecture I have seen. We spent an afternoon wandering around this magnificent building Icould not believe we could go anywhere if this had been England we would have needed platform tickets. New Yorkers I just hope you appreciate what a fantactic building you have.

Our guide Richard was so knowledgeable and his personal attention and concern for us was amazing. We learned so much about the “hidden” gems of Grand Central

We stopped in on Grand Central as we were passing. It's an iconic building that was nice to see but it's very much a working terminal and apart from the whispering wall (which was pretty cool!!) there wasn't a huge amount to see here. I wouldn't recommend making a special visit to this place but worth looking in on if passing by.

A quite impressive now historic building, used in many films so a must visit. The main hall is a huge space with extensive use of marble. Not so grand outside but good overall when passing.

A very impressive building in its beauty, worth seeing even without the need to travel by train. Like a city inside a building.

The building is open to the public and worth looking around even if you don't need to catch a train! Aside from the architecture, there are lots of shops and places to grab something to eat, from a full meal to a snack or just a coffee.

The station is immense and is packed with people at every hour. Despite its vivacity, it is quite clean and even the (free) public toilets are kept in relatively decent conditions. It's so beautiful, that newly married couple took souvenir photos of their wedding at the foot of one of the majestic internal staircases

It's a very beautiful building in New York. And known to us especially for its clock.... But it is really very very small!! I'm glad to have seen it but that's not the most important thing to see in this city!

Iconic and awe inspiring, as seen in so many films. We were there on a Sunday morning, so it was very busy and we wished we had chosen a different time when it would have been quieter. Still very impressive and lots to see - the ceiling, the stairs, the windows, the arches and track numbers, the ticket windows and the beautiful clock, not forgetting the outside sculpture at the main entrance and the viaduct.
Like so many other iconic locations in NYC, it suffers from being very touristy now but it is still very definitely a great place to see.

The most beautiful building in New York. Reflecting on it, it was selling newcomers to America on WHAT America is- a dream, an opportunity and opulence.
This is a must see!

Grand Central Terminal is not just a train station, but an authentic masterpiece of architecture and one of New York's most iconic attractions.
The Beaux-Arts-style building is impressive: huge staircases, marble floors, large arched windows and high ceilings create a majestic atmosphere, unusual for a transit place.
In the large central atrium is the famous marble and brass information desk, topped by a magnificent four-sided opal clock, which has become one of the symbols of the city.
The spectacular barrel ceiling, decorated with the twelve constellations painted backwards, adds a touch of elegance to the entire room.
Among the curiosities not to be missed, the Dining Concourse, an arched gallery located on the lower floor, is known for a curious acoustic phenomenon: voices whispered in one corner propagate to the opposite corner.
A place to visit absolutely.

Without a doubt this is one of the most ionic places in Manhattan. of opportunities to see things that the normal tourist does not know about, it is worth dedicating a whole day to that place.

Grand by design and globally recognized as a center of transportation, civic architecture and commerce, all at once embodying the historic, economic, cultural and optimistic spirit of New York City, that is a postcard picture of Grand Central Terminal. Located at 89 East 49th Street, in Midtown Manhattan, it is one of the city's premier attractions offering a compelling blend of rich history, architectural details, exquisite dining and diverse shopping. Spread over 49 acres, it features 44 platforms and 67 tracks on two levels, making it the world's largest train station by number of platforms and area occupied, the third busiest train station in North America and one of the world's 10 most visited tourist attractions with 21.8 million visitors annually. Grand Central is a commuter rail terminal that is the southern terminus of the Metropolitan West Railroad's Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines, serving the northern parts of the New York metropolitan area. Opened in 1913, it serves 67 million passengers annually. It is noted for its distinctive architecture, interior design, works of art, main concourse, variety of stores and food vendors, upscale restaurants and bars, food hall and grocery marketplace. The building also includes a library, tennis club, event hall, control center, offices for the railroad and a sub-basement power station. The highlight of restaurant row is the Grand Central Oyster Bar and Restaurant, the oldest restaurant in the terminal.

Beneath the starry ceiling of Grand Central, we clutched coffee and maps, giddy like kids. The energy, the echoes, the secret whispering gallery—we kissed where no one could hear us - In the middle of chaos.

It is definitely the most famous LIRR, Bus and Metro Station in NYC. Very famous its entrance with its 4-sided clock. He appears in hundreds of movies. To see.

Been to NYC many times but never made it to this beautiful building! Plenty of food & beverage options, restrooms & great spots for pictures. Just a cool spot even if you aren’t going anywhere!

The station is a very grand building, filled with shops, cafes / restaurants and of course train stations. The architecture is amazing. Head to the whispering gallery near to the Oyster Bar, and if one person goes in to one corner, and the other person goes in to the one diagonally opposite, and whispers something, the other person will be able to hear it clearly.

This was my first ride on the Long Island Railroad to Grand Central Terminal. The station has a very long escalator that brings passengers to the street level. It's beautifully decorated with high end tile and marble. The restrooms had the same beauty as the common areas. Very clean with higher end finishes and fixtures.
Make sure you stroll through the high end market. It's absolutely stunning.

The place is beautiful with marble all over, reasonable restaurants, chandelier, ceiling stars, and it’s a good place to people watch. The people that work there are very friendly and very informative. They tell you the best way to get anywhere. We bought the $30 metro card. Just make sure you take the right subway. If unsure ask the people with a smile. We asked the older people. The young ones have earphones. 😆 it’s the cheapest way to travel. The taxis are expensive.

I was pleasantly surprised visiting. This is still a functioning train station! Building is awesome. Glad I stopped to visit.

This season is wonderful. It doesn't actually look like a station. Very clean and completely safe feeling. In addition to connecting multiple lines

Grand Central station was built as a terminal for trains coming into Manhattan from up state New York and was probably built when railways were really the main way to travel. It is truly a grand station!
Nowadays it is served by the subway as well as metro trains coming from places like Poughkeepsie and also from New Haven, Conneticuit.
The concourse it well worth taking a moment to admire. It is huge but bearing in mind the number of people who pass through every day it needs to be.
There are places to get something to eat at the station as well as the Transit Museum which is a small display to the railways into the station. You can also get some MTA souvenirs here.

You probably already know how grand and beautiful this place is, but, did you know there is a super cool oyster bar in there? They sell oysters from all around North America, lots of different kinds. We sat at the bar, it was just so cool!

Incredible volume, a pretty crazy atmosphere, you feel like you're stepping into another era. Impeccable cleanliness...

One of those places in New York where you just go, take a picture, and leave. Nothing out of this world but it’s an iconic landmark and I have no regrets about visiting.

I've always wanted to see this legendary station, finally I set foot on it this week, it's quite a monument! It is beautiful, large, impeccably clean, we saw it during rush hour, a real anthill! A must-see in New York!

Grand Central Terminal is one of the most beautiful train stations that we've ever seen and we love being able to come here. The Main Concourse is truly something to see and the constellation ceiling is just gorgeous. It's a clean station and it has lots of shopping and dining including the famous Oyster Bar. It's a beautiful place to visit even if you're not taking a train and it's one we would recommend to anyone visiting the city.

We got the subway from Downtown New York to Grand Central Station. We stood in the massive hall- such a beautiful building with an amazing ceiling. Absolutely stunning inside and out.

The Grand Central Terminal is more than just an elaborate movie set. Not only outside of the building is fantastic but also inside of it really beautiful. It is a staple of modern New York and one of the oldest landmarks in the city. About 750,000 people move through the terminal daily.
Fact: The Grand Central Terminal has had a couple of names over its lifetime. It was once called the Grand Central Depot and the Grand Central Station.
There are two levels and a balcony. You will find ticket booths, information, subway entry, and Metro-North tracks on the main level. Head off the corridors to visit the restaurants, shops, and markets. The lower level is a dining hall. The balcony level is for restaurants and the Apple store.
A remarkable feature of the terminal is the whispering gallery. The arched shape of the ceramic tiled ceiling and walls creates a unique autistic effect. You can stand in opposite corners of the arches and whisper to each other.
Grand Central Terminal has been served since 1913 and it is a kind of landmark in the US.

Before my visit, I had heard on TV, that some very significant changes were being made to Grand Central. I’m not sure if I even noticed much difference except the iconic lobby area with the clock in the middle. I seem to recall this area being very open and spacious but now I thought it felt cramped. I don’t remember all the shops and cafes being in the iconic lobby area and the assumed domed ceiling was much lower? I’m having a hard time giving the upgrades 5 stars.

Came here with my wife because it was on our NYC bucket list. Not disappointed at all. This place is definitely grand. The history here gave me chills. Whispering wall was as expected. It truly works. We were waiting with anticipation for a flash mob to break out. Ha! The architecture here is amazing. So happy to check this one off. Highly recommended!

AMAZING! This very a great tour. We saw a ton of interesting things. Even learned some secrets of Grand Central. Guide was very outgoing and lead a very nice tour. I live in NYC and much of this was all new to me!

Must see in NY! Great hall with fantastic ceiling. Great construction with exciting areas to discover. Lots of good little food spots at the bottom.

It's a station. Nice building but we didn't really get the hype? Nowhere to sit and constant announcements saying not to sit on the floor or lean against the walls. Eating places downstairs. Again, nowhere to sit but tables to stand up at and place your food on. No directory of eating venues - didn't see any until we left the building anyway! Dirty lavatories. Went as part of a tour, nice to tick this place off our list but wouldn't particularly return for any reason.

Immense building with many train tracks. The entrance is impressive. There are restaurants, shops and several meters of corridors to walk to trains and subways.

Grand central is a must see. The building has amazing architectural features
As well as shopping, and a huge amount of food options. The bathrooms were clean as well.

Mandatory stop when visiting NY. The emblematic station is grand and very beautiful. It is very imposing to see, it was one of the most beautiful places I saw in New York. I loved!

After visiting Summit next door, we stopped at this iconic terminal. I was in awe of the architecture and design, but the cleanliness of such a busy place caught my immediate attention. Staff were kind enough to answer questions. There were plenty of food options downstairs. Next time, we hope to hop a train just for the experience.

If you have been to Grand Central Station in DC then this one in NYC will not impress. It's not nearly as beautiful as the one in DC. The most impressive thing about it is the massive statue of Hermes on the top front of the building. Not really worth the time.

We have been several times in the past and now after the Covid restrictions it’s lost some of its luster. The benches in the terminal have been removed and for those of us who are older that’s a disadvantage. In fact we had hoped to grab a quick breakfast in their food court but although they had tables their were no chairs. Folks, we walk enough in New York surely they could bring back the chairs so that we could at least eat breakfast in some comfort. The marketplace area still looks good but there is nowhere to sit there either. We ended up having breakfast at the Lexington Avenue Pret a Manger just for a place to sit.

Beautiful ceiling. Make sure you stop by and check it out. Lost points for its soulless food court with little to no seating.

Very crowded but worth seeing for the ceilings. Food area had terrific food . Part of town that has all kind of humanity. Downside is that there is nowhere to sit in the huge hall where you wait to see which track your train is coming into

Absolutely worth visiting. Superb architecture, but we will avoid eating there. The market is nice but overpriced.

If you're into history or just love pretty buildings, Grand Central is a gem. It's not just about the trains; it's a living, breathing part of New York's story. Whether you're a tourist or a local, it's a spot that connects you to the city's past while still being a happening place in the present. A must-visit for sure!

Grand Central Terminal, century old train terminal is a world-famous landmark in Midtown NewYork. It is one of the busiest train stations in the world, with 100s of thousands visitors every day.
We used this station plenty of times during our stay in NY, and amazed by its superb engineering architect and vast services of various train services under a roof, truly impressive!
This is of course one of the most iconic monuments in New York City. No trip to New York is complete without a visit to Grand Central Station.

Monumental station, worth visiting.
There are several restaurants and bathrooms.
Great places to photograph, from different angles.

Jonathan was an informative and personal guide. He repeated our names often, showing he wanted us to know he wasn’t mailing it in. We saw all the things you might miss without a guide, heard the history and development of the building and overall had a delightful tour.

Very nice train station that reminds us of the movies where we can see it.
Take your time to visit it inside and admire the facades.

Just popped in to see, and thoroughly impressed with the scale & decor.
Busy as hell, with tourists such as I taking photos. Very impressive all round.

Definitely worth a stop if you are in New York City. We probably spent half an hour wandering around. Beautiful old architecture, the clock is worth seeing. We wandered through the different shops. Very busy.

We visited just to say we had done it (second time for me). It’s a fantastic place to see but I don’t feel you spend much time here. It’s better when you have a tour guide.

A wonderful station on the outside but spectacular on the inside; an architecture that marvels and charms you; the roof is magical... then being the scene of many films it becomes more familiar and next... very pleasant place.

This was a great stop for us on our tour. Such an important piece of history still thriving in today’s world. Immaculate architecture in and out. A bustling centerpiece of the city’s transportation network. Plenty of places to eat within the building. Restrooms plentiful. A great stop when in NYC as a visitor or traveler.

Grand Central Terminal is like stepping into a piece of living history. The architecture is a breathtaking blend of the classic and the contemporary, with that famous celestial ceiling that just draws you in. The hustle and bustle of commuters mixes with a sense of timeless charm. It's not just a transit hub; it's an experience that effortlessly marries the old and the new. A genuine must-see, whether you're a local or just passing through.

The GCT is not only worth seeing for its architecture. It is huge, much bigger than expected and offers shops for shopping, small cafes and restaurants, and you always feel at home here somehow!
As a holidaymaker in this city for the first time, you can easily get lost in such a large terminal, but that doesn't matter because everyone is incredibly helpful and nice, that's rare!
Even if you're not necessarily looking for transport connections, you should see the inside of Grand Central!

An amazing terminal for numerous railroads and the subway, one of the busiest in the world.
A truly beautiful historic building that also houses stores, a food court and the famous Oyster Bar.

You have to go, even if the trip is short. The station is beautiful, the ceiling, the building outside, inside, the chandeliers. It feels like being in a movie. There is a food court, so if you are tired, stop for a coffee and rest a little. It also has a bathroom. For those who like Apple, there is a store there too.

Like so many places, there are a lot of people down on their luck in New York and many of them seem to hang out in Grand Central terminal. The staff are friendly and helpful, and there are places to eat inside, although the smells from the less desirable residents can put you off your food.
Ok for a quick stroll through, but not worth hanging about in.

All my years in NYC I never visited this beautiful old station, famous for countless movies, as well as for traveling.
Just beautiful building with marble staircase and flooring
Definitely worth just for a look while visiting NYC

The magnificence of this building is truly superb; the place is always full of life and offers truly iconic views that recall movie scenes seen and reviewed. Highly guarded by the police force, it is an essential must for every tourist who goes to New York. Among other things, it has an internal connection with the city's most recent observatory, the wonderful Summit One Vanderbilt.

Being in grand central station when you have seen it in so many films was a surreal feeling.
We visited quite early in the morning when it was pretty quiet and it was great to observe and take in how stunning the station is.
We visited again at a different time when it was incredibly busy and they were 2 worlds apart!
A must see if you’re in NYC.

I think there is too much wasted space the station feels cold, also there are a very limited number of chairs in the train station 10 at last count and no toilets in this area, badly thought through, train station not a great experience

What a great train station . Well worth walking round and see the hustle and bustle of everyday life here. Station itself is amazing and so beautiful and clean. Well worth having a look if your passing buy the area.

We stopped to see the Grand Central Station as we were wandering around New York City. We were in the Big Apple for Christmas and went to see what kind of Christmas decorations they have.
We wandered around a little bit and saw the large underground shopping area as well as the main area where I took photos and we also had an early dinner at the restaurant by the main entrance, Grand Brasserie which was good, yet NY expensive.

There is public restrooms available for their customers.
This has been on my BucketList for awhile, so finally it's done! The train station is a architectural marvel, lots of history, food, shopping. The ceilings, lighting, old train tracks definitely took me back to the past. I used to visit train stations while living in Europe. Easy to navigate, walk around and around and read about the history.
We stopped by the Grand Central Terminal this afternoon, while we were visiting the Manhattan area. The facility was maintained to the highest standard of cleanliness. The staff was very friendly and professional. This is a popular attraction for travelers and for the locals who usedaily. So it stays very crowded and busy. There is plenty of security inside and outside.

The Grand Terminal Central is New York station, located in the center 3n 42nd Street, majestic, great architecture, has restaurants, everything shops, very spacious and cozy

Second visit but still amazes just has a certain atmosphere. First time didn't have too long here but this time we took it in more and looked up more at the architecture along with the hustle and bustle. Has to be seem on a NY visit

Grand Central is a stunning landmark that simply cannot be missed. The unique shops, eateries, and the constant buzz of people create an energetic vibe, while the Beaux-Arts-style architectural details, like the gorgeous marble floors and stairs, exude a timeless grandeur. Great place to visit.

Grand Central Train Station is one of the most visited destinations in NYC.
It offers sights, history, architecture, dining and shopping.
The most iconic and wellknown sights are: the turquoise and gold celestial ceilung mural and the info booth topped with a four-sided brass clock.
Pay also attention to details: one souvenir to take home in my heart ❤ is the shiny golden brass letter box.
We visited on a w.e. and unfortunatly the Grand Central Oyster Bar was closed ...
I first visited GCT decades ago and was overwhelmed. Each time I return here it's a highlight. Great aura!

In August 2025, I visited Grand Central Terminal in New York City. It is a very big and beautiful train station. I was amazed by the high ceiling with stars and the large windows. There were so many people everywhere!
I listened to an audio tour that told the story of the station. I also walked around to see the shops and restaurants. I really liked the food market because there were many delicious things to eat.
What I liked the most was watching all the people — tourists, workers, and musicians. It felt very alive and exciting. What I didn’t like was that it was very crowded and noisy.
Even with that, my visit to Grand Central Terminal was a great experience. I really enjoyed discovering this famous place in New York.

Grand Central is definitely a sight to see for NYC first timers or those who have never been to Europe before. The art in the main entrance is beautiful. However, most of the shops were closed when we were there (around noon) so it wasn't all that spectacular other than the main entrance.

Exceptional. And it is close to the Public Library. But set aside a good amount of time to enjoy these places and learn a little more about the city's history and main literary works.

The building design inside and out is impressive. The ceiling with its astrological symbols is beautiful. We checked out the Whispering Room along with many others. It's definitely worth a visit.

This historical station, which was put into service in 1871, is one of the city's rarest and most original buildings. It has a very impressive exterior, its interior is huge and interesting, there is not a single load-bearing column in that very large hall. How visionary people built it that today it can still be the largest train station in the world. I read that it contains 67 train platforms and hosts nearly a million people every day. There are dozens of gourmet food stores, restaurants and cafes on the ground floor. Half of the first floor serves as an Apple store. Be sure to visit, feel both history and today, live, enjoy, have fun.

A great tourist/iconic place to visit, we didnt use but it was such a stunning place we had to visit. Lots of places to eat on the ground floor, seemed ok prices and choices. We enjoyed just walking around and taking it all in.

The hall is really overwhelming. The many details that are still to be discovered are also interesting. And somehow you feel like you are in a film, as the station has often been used as a filming location.

She is beautiful both inside and out.
Very clean, with trains, which you can't see unless you go to the platforms.
With famous bars and restaurants, with its high, central and always crowded part, however, it is absolutely worth seeing

Schitterrend station in het centrum van de stad New York. What a big hall with entrances and exits everywhere. Very nice to walk through here and see and experience the eea. Recommended and always nice and busy.

Really beautiful and special to visit. Famous because several films have been shot, the ticket office clock is a must to photograph. The stairs and all the architecture...a wonder! By the way, I discovered that it is the largest station in the world, has 64 platforms and several restaurants. In short, one of the architectural gems of New York.

A beautiful building with fine dining venues. Do not forget to go through the vault of sighs, where we can communicate from one column to the other by the acoustics of the place. Beautiful walk.

Hey, you know Grand Central Terminal in New York? It's a super common scene in those American TV shows. And it's one of the busiest train stations in the US. It opened in early 1913, so it's got a 111 - year - long history now. It was built by the Vanderbilt family, the so - called "kings of American railroads". It's an amazing train station and has become a well - known landmark in New York. It's also a public art gallery. It totally breaks the mold of what we think a train station should be. Once you step inside, it doesn't feel like a boring old train station at all. It's more like an art museum. What really draws people to Grand Central Terminal is its high - ceilinged waiting hall and the design of the pedestrian and vehicle lanes. The main staircase in the waiting hall is styled after the Paris Opera House in France.
Oh, and if you're gonna buy train tickets, you can give Trainpal a shot. Use the code RICH111 and you'll get some nice discounts!

Had to see grand Central Station as it was always shown in the Law and Order Series. It was spectacular but not as large as shown on TV

This is a must to visit when you are in New York. Pictures do not do this beautiful place justice. It is massive and has lots of hidden gems in it.

On a long, busy day trip from DC, I made sure to stop by Grand Central Station. First, to pick up Li Lac chocolates for gifts to take home. And more importantly, to enjoy the sights, splendor and atmosphere of a classic piece of NYC. Didn't have time for a drink at the Campbell Apartment, but there's always next visit!

It really is a great piece of architecture. I just wanted to see inside and was not disappointed but happily surprised that there was a lovely food market in there too and my partner was veryhappy to see the apple store upstairs where he could do the apple vision Pro trial so a win for both of us 😂

Following the visit to Grand Central Terminal, we wanted to eat in at COURCOUSE which is located in the basement of the station. No or little chance to sit down. Rather disappointed we went to dinner elsewhere!

It is a beautiful building! Definitely worth a visit if you have time!
Nice architecture. Very clean!

If you don't love here, you need to visit this place. It's crazy how it had bars, shopping and that is before you even get down into the subway system. Very cool and mind blowing that this place exists.

Inside was amazing so big I didn’t realise it. I was in awe of the sights and sounds. Just like it is in the films.

This station is huge, it's a real anthill. You can easily spend 2 hours. The ceiling is superb and the architecture beautiful.
We tried to explore it from docks to shops and other food stalls.

Always wanted to see inside the station. Beautiful. Didn’t disappoint. Went back for a set 3 course lunch on the ground floor later the same day.

Grand Central Station has breathtaking architecture and it is worth just taking a little time to sit (or stand) and watch the hustle and bustle going on around you.

Spectacular and great location.
A huge place where services and leisure are together.
To spend hours and hours walking or eating like we did with ice cream.
To see

This is one of those places that were movie scenarios and you need to go to see. The station is huge and very beautiful. There are many shops and restaurants.

I would never have thought to come here. Our co-workers that live in New York recommended we walk through Grand Central. I am so glad we did. It's massive, impressive and beautiful. The restored ceiling is something you have to see.
Pay close attention to the claw of the crab pointing to the base of the ceiling connecting to the wall. There is a tiny grey rectangle barely visible. The beautiful blue ceiling with astrological drawings were completely covered in centuries of soot and cigarette smoke to the point the whole ceiling was completely grey. They left that grey square to show how bad it was.
Go see this beautiful structure. Watch the hustle and bustle. Walk down a few train tracks and think of the turn of the century when this was it! Visit the food court below. Cool place.

This is the main train station in New York City. The construction is magnificent and the building is very beautiful. In addition to being a very important place of people's movement in the city, it is inevitable from a tourist point of view.

A very interesting place to visit.
Inside the station there is an ope apple store.
Clean and safe space.

Grand Central Station is the central station of New York. This station is located on 42nd Street in the heart of Midtown and a short walk from the Chrysler Building. The station occupies a whole block that is curious to cut off the perspective of the prestigious Park Avenue.
Amazing building we all saw once or another in an American movie.
In the centre of the hall is the information kiosk, topped by the Grand Central’s iconic 4-dial clock.
Beautiful old building with blue ceiling including astrological signs. Not to be missed.

Stayed literally around the corner from GC.
The place is huge yet easy to navigate around. The dining concourse has so much to choose from. The distinct subway smell fills your nostrils. You have to ride the subway if you're a NYC visitor. It's worth the experience. The architecture is beautiful and the US flag in the grand hall is so beautifully patriotic.

I was impressed to see how careful it is. The feeling is that we enter a shopping area, as it has shops and restaurants around the guiches and boarding gates. Thinking well... it looks like we're at a small airport.
I regretted not having taken more photos, but you can have a notion even with the simple photos posted here, so I hope.

Absolutely massive terminal in Midtown Manhattan with nearly 70 tracks. Loads of shops and food places, free toilets and just a brilliant place to sit and stare at a ceiling or talk to walls!

Enjoyed a great tour with Ric S. , going thru all the station and learning a lot of curious facts and places, such as a quick visit to the Campbell or Oyster Bar. Place is amazing! Definitely worth visiting! Do yourself a favor and book your tour with Walks and ask for Ric!

Mythical and unmissable place in NY. Two options are available to you: either you spend two hours there to visit the place and really see the galleries and shops, or you go to the main hall in 5 minutes. The architecture is superb, you can see New Yorkers passing through this nerve center of NY.

This is a landmark railway station in one of the most famous cities of the world. It really is a grand station with so many platforms on many levels. We enjoyed discovering the station and also enjoyed arriving on a subway train during our visit to New York. There are so many things to see here.

Great iconic free to visit experience. Beautifully kept. Had breakfast here very tasty eggs with avocado lush. Can't believe there is a street trader right in the front door. A must visit still.

Grand Central Terminal/Station is must must-visit attraction in NY. A lot of movies were recorded there. It is also clean and has a food court with direct access to platforms.

A must see place in New York . Grand central is a train terminal but it’s more than that . Railway station has trains to Connecticut and many other instead state trains . Fantastic location..
Amazing architecture .. inside of grand central is just photogenic ! Superb . Lots of restaurants around . Lots of places to eat : there is an Apple showroom inside : love it . Ther is a wine tasting bar inside .. of course parking is tough. Use taxis and trains to reach grand central . Good and other stuff are little expensive inside . A must see place in NY !

historical station in New York, built more or less during the development of the skyline of the big apple, which arrives today certainly also with a certain notoriety due to having appeared in one way or another in various films; the structure is very large already seen from the outside and as for other historical buildings stands out the difference with the surrounding landscape where there is the summit one vanderbilt; inside it hits the main room with the decorated ceiling, but moving to other areas you can find shops, bars and other places of all kinds; in my opinion it deserves a ride of about half an hour; an important stop, but certainly not unmissable

A must visit when in New York. It was launched in 1913. More than 150,000 visited it on an opening day. The terminal was built on the site of two other stations, the first of which dated to 1871. It is the world's largest train station as far as the area it occupies is concerned and counting the number of platforms. And I found it absolutely the most beautiful one. It is the 10th most visited tourist attraction in the world. And the Tiffany clock (the 14-foot clock), what a beauty, is said to be the largest example of Tiffany glass on earth.
Grand Central Terminal accommodates among others an Apple shop.

Excellent view. A beautiful place to take photographs.
You must know it.
It is not difficult to get to and is close to other must-see places such as the library.

An amazing central station located in the center of the city. It’s a mandatory stop, either as a tourist attraction or to catch subways and trains to different destinations. The central part of the station is really beautiful and worth seeing. Many movies have been filmed here, so much of what we see feels familiar, as we’ve already seen it on screen without a doubt. Make sure to visit the food market; it offers great gourmet options, charcuterie, chocolates, spices, and more!

A place that surprised me a lot!! Full of stories, fascinating architecture, and lots of movie memories. A place that cannot be missed in the script.

We didn't use the trains so can't comment on those but you MUST visit just for the architecture and history of this magnificent building. The tall ceilings and the hustle and bustle is just fantastic to watch and observe. Felt it could have more seating in the main public area just for that very reason.

Amazing structure
Iconic scenes in movies
Clean spacious
Shopping food outlets
Grand building is a must see it takes your breath away

This is the last stop i did before getting to JFK airport for my flight back home. I spent a good one hour at the airport simply admiring the architecture of this massive station. It is absolutely gorgeous & a must-see.

Stunning building.
Went just as the place is so iconic.
Entered from im not sure where but the place is full of helpful NYPD officers who are more than happy to direct lost tourists, and pose for photos!
Tried the whispering arches but couldn’t get them to work: apparently the best one is near the oyster bar.. didn’t work for me.
Stunning place tho. You have to go.

It’s overwhelmingly beautiful and busy. Shop, eat, travel or explore. It’s for everyone to see and appreciate. Love the architecture!

A must see while in NYC. incredible detail on the ceiling. The clock is beautiful with great history. They have done such an amazing job preserving this building. Several food options on the lower level.

Grand Central Terminal is a train station that dates from times gone by. The Grand Central Terminal has a certain grandeur, it offers an important access point for commerce, business and cultural institutions in New York City's Midtown district.

You can't come to NYC without seeing Grand Central station.
Wonderful structure outside and inside
Colds, paintings, engravings... it's like entering a church to admire the representations and their meanings.
Don't miss it!

just called in as we got off subway on the wettest morning in NYC for many years.Very impressive space worth seeing for a few minutes, lots of cheap eateries in basement area

Grand Central is huge and authentic New York style Central place of transportation. It's beautifully designed and functional terminal for to go out everywhere.

What's not to love about this grand old station? We were staying a couple of doors down from here, so we went in a few times.
There are several cafe's, restaurants and food outlets in there, so they were handy! Then you can catch the subway and trains from there, which we did on several occasions, apart from that, it's just nice to wander in and have a look.

The name says it all. I've been to this terminal 5 times and never had a 1 minute delay. The terminal is super easy to navigate and they basically have a train times board everywhere you look. The only downside is that the platforms are dated, hot, and often smell to, but if you can get past that, it will be a 5 star expirience.

Brilliant for anyone to see an amazing building. Lovely chandeliers and an amazing concourse a must see for photographs. A wow building.
Beautiful Interior
I didn't end up stopping here on a train, but walked down just to visit it. The station has multiple entrances from different roads. Not only is the xtior quite nice to look at, the interior is also something different.
The roof looks like it has a set of constellations on it. The lighting was coloured and the walls has intricate decorations. There was an elegant feeling to the way the interior was set up. The main entrance also had a cafe.
It is an active station and has sign signboard for the timetables. There was also an information center in the middle. The lower floor housed the Grand Central Market, which has a series of food stalls. It is quite convenient if you want to grab something before or after your trip. There are signs which direct your to internal connections between the surrounding buildings.
It was a nice building to explore. I was there quite late so many of the shops weren't open but it was very busy,
