You gotta love a pier!

By RCM92 |

Good long pier. Plenty of peep watching and the game guess where they are from based on sock and shoes :) .... Nebraska always tops my list. Awesome happy peep hanging at the pier. Also nice bathrooms on pier. Don’t forget a few pics of the surfer dudes. If u want to be crazy try walking at 5 am or rainy days. I love less bodies.

Nice Views!!

By pestew |

Great views of the ocean, the beach and the surfers from the pier. Nice stroll out to the end of the pier. Lots of folks fishing and enjoying the day. Great opportunity to take in the sights!

Awesome place to be on a beautiful day!!

By Robert E |

After breakfast at the Sugar Shack Cafe, we walked out on the pier to watch the surfers and enjoy the day. Lots of good memories of being a kid on this beach in the waves from sun up to sun down! One of the places in California that is still as good as it was then.

Dangerous

By johnneyeagle_12 |

This is where a lot of drugs are sold. Keep children from coming to this place. The people here are dangerous and vicious.

Huntington Beach Walk is Now Unsafe!

By InvestorI |

There were around 30 new homeless bums along the beach boardwalk today. They were spread out along the boardwalk, hiding in the shadows of buildings and palm trees. Their eyes lit up as we walked by them, stalking us and other runners and walkers alike, looking for their next prey.

We usually get around 1 or 2 new homeless people here per week around this time of year. But today was incredulous. There were more than 30 of them today, as if the City of Los Angeles and Orange County are trying to solve their homeless problem by allocating them around to nearby towns, busing some to Huntington Beach. We've lived here for a long time. We've paid a lot of taxes to live here, and it's so frustrating that a lot of that hard earned money goes to the local Police Department, yet we've never seen them patrolling the Huntington Beach boardwalk, where the homeless are just camping and sleeping all along the main walkway. We no longer feel safe walking around in our own town or along the beach anymore, and the local law enforcement, along with the city of Huntington Beach, is not doing more to protect and to ensure their citizens' safety, and that is just egregious!

Wow

By T. Levis |

Exceptional viewpoint of breaking waves, surf, coastline. This Pier is enormous in structure, strength & photographic views!! From an artist view it's beautifully amazing! Under the grand structure is the perfect shady spot for painting a masterpiece, or photographing amazing angles. Clashing calm & powerful might of waves crashing amongst the towering pillars excite the senses.
The walk down the Pier is good excercise. The views above the water, sand & surf are great!!

Fun place to spend a few hours

By BillCamp60 |

We had the chance to visit the beach at Huntington Beach on a recent trip to LA and we really enjoyed our time at both beach and the pier. Great place to wonder around and watch people. We were there for a short time, but we could really have stayed for hours - people - surf - water - waves - really cool.

Lots going on, on the Pier!

By Turnkey56 |

Very busy with bike rentals, flea market, shirt sales, walks on the pier and restaurants to wet your thirst. Don’t forget to watch the volleyball players and surfers. You can see Catalina if the weather is clear. I relaxing by place to hang out but very busy.

Sunset

By James A |

A wonderful pier that we were lucky enough to visit at sunset. It was really busy and had a great atmosphere. It’s around 500 meters in length all flat and an easy walk. There is a restaurant at the end and toilets in the middle

After dinner: a walk

By Happy_Tica |

Nice place to go for a walk after dinner. Enjoy the sound of the waves, and the activity at the pier

Sundays at the pier

By jerry k |

A very friendly city..weekends hold street fairs with clothing sales and many surfer items. Huntington Beach is s surfers Mecca. The Beach Boys wrote about Huntington. You’ll find good Mexican food and pizza places downtown. Take a walk out on the pier and view the pacific oven close up. A good stop as you drive along the coastline.

On the way...

By lovinthatfood |

Just a visit for pictures and experience on the way to Long Beach. Large beach area plenty of space. Lots of volleyball nets up. Great for partying, plenty of bars geared for young people who want excitement. Similar to the look of Daytona Beach in Florida (the layout)

Focal point for HB

By EdfromPDR |

Would be hard to miss. Parking is available on street and numerous beachside lots, many south of the pier. Great bike/walk path and lots of rentals available for bikes and such as well as places to eat. Nice view and enjoyable place to get fresh air and some exercise.

Good for watching surfers

By TheRealAwaxy |

Another coastal pier with a restaurant on the end and a couple of tackle and tacky gift stores in the middle.

The best reason to visit is to watch the surfers ply their trade. We were there on a perfect sun-drenched afternoon, so that helped.

Such a perfect day to walk on the pier

By Joyce P |

After our delicious Mexican food, we walked the pier. It was a great way to get rid of the discomfort of eating so many chips and salsa and tacos. The pier had a souvenir shop and lots of fishermen on the pier. At the end of the Pier was the famous Ruby’s Restaurant. There were people waiting outside for their turn. The sun on our faces and the ocean breezes made it a delightful walk

Historic, Beautiful and a must do

By Texasmcvey |

The Pier is so nice. The waves at the pier are known to surfers worldwide and many surfing competitions are held there. You take a leisurely walk by a couple of tourist stores and further down is a hamburger joint called Ruby’s. You can enjoy an ocean view while eating. You can also fish from the pier.

It's a pier

By Kathy S |

Nice walk. Nothing special. There is a restaurant at the end but we did not try it. Another traveler said it was good food.

Enjoying strolling HB Pier and Downtown Main streets and tasting pistachios ice creams

By LightPacker308286 |

In the last Sunday afternoon of July, we three generations visited HB. Having paid $3.5/hr fee and parked our car near 17th street, we strolled along the walking path to HB downtown Main Street. We listened the music and walked to the end of HB Pier.

Surfing capital of California

By Peter S |

This is the beach of all beaches and the founder of surfing in California.

Stunning and so big it’s beyond belief.

There is a great pier and a shopping centre opposite with some great food options.

Lots to do and walk up ice cream at Ruby’s

By Californiamama145 |

You were in town with her family and brought my nieces and nephew to the pier. There are a lot of shops and things to do near the pier. We were there on Sunday and there was a community music performance that was lots of fun too. At the end of the pier is a walk up place to get ice cream at Rubys. The kids cone was $1.99 and was huge. You can walk also walk inside Rubys and spend a penny to get a gumball. My nieces and nephews loved it.

Check out at sunset.

By traveler5005 |

Must see. It was windy but a unique view over the water and of the surfers. Particularly scenic at sunset. More of just a scenery activity. For shopping, check out the nearby shops across the street.

Pleasant stroll, you gotta do it

By nigel1457 |

Check out the surfers from the pier and visit Ruby's Diner. The diner is worth a visit - get a table upstairs. The food was OK, it's the venue that counts.

Huntington Beach throwing it down! A MUST visit

By BurtB312 |

You can't begin to visit all the great beaches in California unless you have weeks of vacation time and do a beach a day. You're blessed if you do have that time...if not...

Get yourself down to Huntington Beach! Took the family for the day and it is awesome! Clean, good eats at Jack's, and plenty of space. Jack's also has beach chair, boogie and surf board, umbrellas and more for rent.

BIG TIPS- get there early, like 9ish to 10am if weather is good. I'd also highly recommend paying the parking in the lot to be there right on premises. You might luck out with parking on Beach avenue, has meters, but you'd have to make sure your meter is current to avoid parking tickets. just pay the $15 bucks.

All in all all it's a great time. Lifeguards and staff are very attentive and is a great day out if you're with friends, family or both!

fun place to walk and people watch

By heartsoulct |

Walked out on the pier a couple times a day. It's fun and ever changing with people! Take a walk and watch the beautiful sunset. Ruby's at the end is a fun diner.

Good watching

By Austin H |

The people watching is pretty good. There is always something going on either with music street fair or just kids playing instruments for Money. Never a bad way to spend an hour or so.rubys shake at the end of the pier is a bonus.

Gorgeous views and lively vibe

By ldjs |

Absolutely beautiful views from this long expansive pier in Huntington Beach. You can watch surfers in the ocean, long pristine sandy beach with fire pits and the bustling Main Street of Huntington Beach.
There are funny stands and live performers of varying caliber, lots of fun all along the pier, plenty of benches to seat down.
At the end you can get seafood lunch or an ice cream cone and watch ships on the horizon or birds on the water.
Loved the Pier walk. The best thing to do in Huntington Beach.

Nice place for a stroll

By BBDoll619 |

The Huntington Beach Pier is a great place to stroll with family and friends. The views are breathtaking, there are people fishing and everyone is in a wonderful mood. There's just something about being outdoors while seeing and hearing the waves crash that instantly puts you in a good and relaxed mood. There were a few vendors when we were there which was cool to check out. Restaurants and shops are across the street and Ruby's is at the end of the pier.

Nice walk, lots of surfers

By dolittledigger |

Fun to watch the surfers. Restaurant at the end that was packed. People fishing off pier
Take the time to stop and take a stroll. Parking right at the pier. Rent some bikes

Iconic Pier

By piginapoke241 |

We have visited this area and pier many times and keep coming back. Great place to people watch and soak up the California vibe.

Huntington Beach

By mpolz2020 |

This is a beautiful location. You can relax and enjoy the beach or rent bicycles to ride up and down the beach. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Great for families!

Great views and people watching!

By 777sherip |

Great views and nice beach. However, we went close to sunset, was very windy and cold, and very packed with people. Good for people watching and enjoying the scenery.

Not too many sightseers out on a chilly November day

By InnaYYZ |

On this visit, we toured parts of Huntington Beach and Fashion Island. Of all Huntington Beach, the HB Pier is one of my favourite places to go for a walk on, and enjoy the ocean views.

Visiting beach

By Nuha K 56 |

I have never seen a busier and crowded beach than this in my life. We were there in 4th of July. Too many people. Dont forget to eat at the Huninton ice clean Parker it's a home made ice cream

Beach days

By pmw |

Went to Huntington Beach on a warm, sunny day. Sand was expansive. Some surfers were in the waves. It wasn’t very populated and we were able to sit and look out to sea for about an hour. Not sure if good place for swimmers but definitely worth the drive to just sit and relax

So if you want to really relax and take a short walk I strongly suggest you try walking on the famous Huntington Pier...

By THOMASFROMDAMASCUS |

The Huntington Pier off the Southern California coast is a must see attraction. It is a long pier and leads from the famous Pacific Coast Highway out into the Pacific Ocean.
It is a very relaxing walk along this famous pier. You see fisherman; lovers and simply people out for a stroll. We had lunch at a famous restaurant near the start of the Huntington Pier.
So if you want to really relax and take a short walk I strongly suggest you try walking on the famous Huntington Pier. You will not be disappointed.

Beautiful, Peaceful, Surf City's Landmark

By David S |

Go for a nice walk. This is also the area where most of the surfers collect. Across the street is main street for shopping and dining. If you want to grab a burger on the pier there is a Ruby's restaurant at the very end. Search for ocean wildlife and birds coasting above/on the waters. It's not eco/green, but the oil derricks lit up at night go well with beautiful sunsets. People from other countries might be surprised that yes you must pay for parking at beaches. If you want to walk a lot further there is plenty of boardwalk and coastline. Drive north or south to explore beach after beach after beach.

Nice views, not much else on pier

By Chevstar29 |

We took a walk to the end of the pier before and after we had dinner at Duke’s. There’s not much on the pier itself- just a couple of touristy kiosks and some people fishing. The evening was overcast because of smoke from far-off canyon fires- we could see them burning in the distance from the end of the pier, which was crazy. The views are probably better when the air is clearer. Totally nice for a walk but wouldn’t consider the pier a major attraction.

very nice.

By Judy B |

Had a very peaceful walk on the pier. So nice and clean and such an amazing view. I'm from Colorado, so seeing the ocean is so amazing to me. I can just watch the water for hours. Beautiful :)

Great scenery

By Shea L |

Huntington Beach Pier is perfect vantage point to watch surfers, enjoy the wonder of the ocean and spy a sea lion or two. Having some shops and a diner at the end of its clean, wide berth is a wonderful perk.

A Nice Walk

By Glyn E |

A lazy amble down the pier watching the anglers and surfers - neither doing much today. The weather was fine, sunny and windless.

Popped into one of the pier shops which sold beach type accessories and was well stocked, reasonably priced and gave very efficient service.

A pleasant wander on a lovely day

A nice place for a walk

By larrymull |

Took a long walk along the pier and watched the fisherman catch their early morning fish as seals played in the open water. A tranquil and memorable time.

Great View

By Steve R |

enjoyed walking on the pier, the view is great , the people are friendly and there are a few shops along the way

Quick visit

By Dmaultsby25 |

Fun to watch the surfers from the pier. Not too busy for a Monday afternoon and was able to park in a lot steps away from the beach.

Filthy

By JCW703 |

It’s a fishing pier with all of the wonderful smells and filth that come with being a fishing pier. The bathrooms were disgusting and in need of a cleaning. One of the commercial spaces was vacant. The trash generated by the restaurant at the end of the pier stunk up that entire space.

Thank goodness it is free, otherwise it would not be in business for very long.

Its a pier.......

By TM |

Not much to say about this pier.......few shops at the start of the pier and a restaurant at the end of the pier (Rubys) - not much else to say ! Good spot to watch the surfers on the waves.

Surfers, Beach Volleyball, and People Watching!!

By Earl W |

The pictures tell it all! A must visit but parking can be tough!! Better to go during the week. We went on a Saturday and they were having a Venders show.Lots of people!! Also street musicians ! Well worth coming back.

Not a fan

By Michael W |

This was ok.... I am not a fan of most things California. To dirty and or seedy and way to crowded. I love small town USA.

I Visit The Pier On Every SoCal Trip!

By JoInTexas |

My hubby and I took our grandkids last week for a day when we needed a break from Disney. All four of the kiddos ages
2 1/2, 3 1/2, 5 & 5 1/2) Just loved playing on the pier, eating at Ruby’s, shopping in the fun stores and running on the beach. Southern California at it’s best in my opinion.

One of the last great piers.

By PickyBaer |

The sun is out. Not too hot. The walking is casual—no place in particular to go. The cry of gulls overhead—waiting for a fisherman to throw them their cleanings. People watching, making vitamin D, and if you're hungry—a great reward at the end.

Always a good walk

By Briian H |

The Huntington Beach Pier is such a beautiful spot to stop and see a sunset. Watch surfing off the pier. Eating at Ruby's or just getting out for some fresh air.

Selfie beach heaven

By Creeping_Death_LA |

Piers always attract the crowds to walk on them so they can see the water, waves, surfers, and even fish up close. The restaurant at the end of the pier - Ruby's is now closed. The restaurant probably went under due to all the pandemic restrictions. Any way the pier is a great spot to take a selfie and enjoy the sea breeze.

Pier

By E.L.E |

Beautiful pier looking over the beach. Lots of visitors and locals walking around. Very picturesque area worth spending a few hours

Great event location

By Ray H |

The HB pier itself is good for a scenic walk . More important it is the base for a number of large public events from volleyball to the US open of surfing. During the summer there are concerts or other events every weekend. It is a beautiful walk any time.

Beautiful Place

By Chris H |

We came here from Oceanside on our last day in Southern California. If we would have known what a nice clean place this was we would have stayed here from the beginning. Oceanside was good Santa Monica was Good Huntington Beach is great. Clean Wide Open Spaces tons of space on the beach nice shops with plenty of places to eat across the street. Hands down the best beach atmosphere we were at wish we would have been there longer

Chilly but fun

By Francisco G |

Kids had a good time and had plenty of fun in the sand. The wind was a bit chilly this time if the year.

Great baordwalk

By Brandan S |

I really loved this pier. It was a great walk, right near everything and really gorgeous views!

Take a walk under as well!

Warning, people fish off the pier so swim away from it, or just under the really shallow part.

It’s a pier, clean and fun

By Stevencclarkson |

I love piers, this one is clean and not too long. A Ruby’s on the end for a milkshake treat!

There seems to be always something to look at or people to watch.

Hangout with friends

By Edna M |

Excellent place to hangout with friends and family, especially if you want to see the most beautiful sunset!!

Great Beach!

By CCykala |

My husband and I spent two weekdays lying on Huntington Beach on our recent trip to California. We had heard it could get crowded on the weekends, but thankfully it wasn’t really crowded on the two weekdays we went. Ee paid for parking ($10) and thought it was 100% worth it! Close to the beach and hassle free!

The first day was a little cloudy, but we had a great experience with an umbrella salesman and got a good nap in before a young girl decided to kick sand on me (on accident of course). The second day was much better! Beautiful sunshine! The waves and the sand are perfect, and it was overall really enjoyable!

Currently CLOSED as of April 10, 2020

I have had the pleasure of taking walks in all types of conditions, high winds, chilly nights, rain, lovely blue skies and hot afternoons. It is a treat to come here, the views extend North to Pacific Palisades, and South to Newport Beach. The coastline bends in those directions and closes off the view. I had never considered jumping off the pier, it is a long way to drop into the cold Pacific. I have watched Lifeguard training exercises where they have made the leap. This is make sure they can do it without harm to themselves and for quick ocean rescues if necessary. Three restaurants are available on the pier. Ruby’s on the ocean end, with Duke’s and Sandy’s on the beach side. All are good, three very different menus. Many small stores sell items for your memory of the pier.

Nice beach with close amenities

By Leane D |

A lovely beach. So nice we decided to return later in the holiday. The surf was excellent (my son rented a board and wet suit but switched to a body board and had a great time. Some waves were the biggest we have ever seen. We didn’t go on the pier but rented a bike and rode up the beach front. Shops available for hire of bikes and surf boards and wetsuits (you will need one…sea is freezing). Food / snack shop also. We had hotdog and chips, ice cream etc. quite tasty.
The toilets were the only let down. No lights inside so can barely see and quite gross. Dirty wet tissue all over the floor and really not very clean at all! Was a shame as rest of area was lovely.

Beautiful place

By ETNfamily3 |

We went just for a short time. The beach is beautiful with beautiful water too. This is a wide beach. Water is cold though. The pier offers good views. The Main Street has lots of beach shops. Wish we had more time to stay.

great people watching

By Lesley19662015 |

Perfect place to put some steps on that fitbit. It is a must do in Orange County I would skip Ruby's..

Awesome view of Water

By Moriah_97 |

Came here with my husband on a vacation, loved the beach and the Pier was fun to walk! The weather was beautiful and the view was amazing.

A great way to enjoy the day

By Peter L |

Took a stroll through downtown Main St. and the pier, a bit crowded but it was a beautiful Sunday and who could blame everyone. Vendor market was going on and a local band was playing on the small stage.
I’ve learned the hard way to just park in one of the structures instead of the beach lots.
Easier to find a space and you don’t risk getting a ticket.

Beautiful views

By Theresa Gingric... W |

Even in the rain this pier is a must see. It never rains in California is mostly true but it happened to rain when we were visiting. Enjoyable walk and view of amazing beach..

Awesome pier

By Ejanier |

Huntington Beach has one of the longest piers in So.Cal.

Rubys diner at the end is old fashion and a fun place to eat. Many fisherman on the pier as well as walkers. On a clear day you can see Long Beach to Newport Beach.

During tournements of many kinds you can view them from the pier.

Views to die for

By Amanda J |

There are some stores walking up the pier and then an eatery on the end. Beautiful views. Also there is some good fishing off the pier.

Awesome place to relax & enjoy the surfers & sunshine

By fluffycat2014 |

We ate at Dukes before walking down the 1850 feet to the end of the Pier, where we got the Best Ice Cream at Ruby's & enjoyed the sunshine & surfers. Great place to unwind.

Quintessentail California pier

By Trekduet |

Great to go for a walk and get the view of the expansive Huntington Beach. There's a Ruby's at the end if you get hungry. On the opposite end is Main Street.

A fun place to go.

By Friedrich B |

The people watching out for you there are very attentive. No skating allowed on the pier which is good for all others walking there.

Very Nice

By Karen C |

What a lovely pier on Huntington Beach. It was really windy when I was there! I went into a couple of the cute shops on the pier. There is a restaurant at the end.

Gorgeous

By Cassie0801 |

Pier is in great shape. Great views couple cool shops and fun watching all the fish being caught Restaurant on the end of the pier. Didn’t stop there but looked like a nice place

Have A Party At The Pier

By Zoom_Gotti |

Old refurbished pier jutting out into the Pacific. Definitely take a walk to the end. There's a small Ruby's at the turnaround. Great place to congregate and catch events, especially in the summer months. fishing here is free.

Classic California beach pier

By mariedesjardins |

We enjoyed strolling along the Huntington Beach pier in September after dining at Duke’s. You can watch beautiful SoCal sunsets from here. Also, you can eat a lobster roll at the shack on it. Visitors can also enjoy experiencing California culture in Surf City as the surfers surf alongside the pier.

Can never get tired of this spot 👍

By fearjac |

We wanted our kids to see a different spot than our last one at Santa Monica pier. That was a great spot and Huntington is no less amazing. It was not too busy when we arrive on the beach. A strong breeze constantly came in and that helped offset the sun. That did not help as I still got sunburned! :(

We had a picnic packed and just took in the sights and sounds of the ocean. Surfers were trying out the waves with many families lounging around soaking in the day. I wished we could have stayed a few more hours. A beach umbrella would be a good idea to bring along and chairs.

Parking is along the entire beach strip but you can find 2-3 hour free parking further out into the shop and residential areas.

By john g |

What an awesome Pier to walk on. Not only is it a long walk on a long Pier but you are real high above the Surf. Lots to see! Surfers, Surfer Girls, Moon Doggies, Fishermen & Women, Shops, Restaurants and more. There are excellent restrooms on the Pier and plenty of them. It's a very well kept area. A must stop on anyone's travels. Be sure to visit the Surf Shops.

Great way to be in Huntington Beach

By Joe L |

Huntington Beach Pier is a local icon. Ruby's restaurant has stood the test of time when others have been washed away. You get a wonderful view of the coastline, Catalina Island and the occasional dolphin a whale sailing by. Watch the surfers from sunrise to sundown and enjoy spectacular unobstructed sunsets setting over the sea, Catalina or Palos Verdes. It gets windy so bundle up even in summer.

Fresh air

By Housam Elkouteini |

Very beautiful place to go for some fresh air and get a nice view for the city and the beach also you might find some people finishing

Great pier on a wonderful beach

By Phil G |

Spent a day here in August. Remarkably quiet, and a nice place to take a stroll out into the Pacific ocean! Easy parking, wonderful beach, and a great view of downtown LA. Loved it.

Second Year On The Pier

By Debbie L |

Love this pier, whether we are watching the surfers, the pelican just chilling on the boardwalk, all the guys and gals fishing or the staff and customers trying to beat the games on sale in the retail outlets. It is fab.

Nice view

By Happado |

We enjoyed our walk on the pier during a breezy and pleasant evening. The pier itself is not spectacular but looking at the surf never gets old.

Soak Up Beach Culture

By David M |

Besides vistas from the pier, it is amazing to watch surfers year-round and walk the main street complete with small shops and trendy eating areas.

Walk on the sand in winter

By etravelhome |

It was light sweater weather but still gorgeous for a walk along the beach. It’s a big beach so lots of space without feeling crowded.

There were at least 15 volleyball courts set up (sponsored by Duke’s Restaurant), and it’s so much fun watching the casual (some serious) beach volleyball games. One of the groups let us borrow a ball for a bit, and we played volleyball with the kids.

A short walk across the street and you will find shops, including a nice outdoor mall with trendy shopping and dining.

Don't come to HB. It very crowded.

By Alan A |

Seriously. The traffic is horrendous. There are scumbags on the beach and everything costs a fortune. Surf sucks too.

best pier in california!!

By Ptg16215 |

beautiful and iconic huntington beach pier is one of the most photographed piers in the nation. watch fisherman and surfers

Brought back the memories!

By Angela3950 |

Forgot what a beautiful beach Huntington Beach was along with the area near the pier. So clean, wide sidewalks with room for biking & walking. We walked from the parking lot to the ocean (wear some shoes or sandals. It was super hot on my bare feet!) California is the most beautiful place.

Pier at Huntington Beach

By Tony L |

Great for walking or people watching!! Diner at the end (Ruby’s) was ok. Bring a sweater as it gets chilly at night!

Huntington June 2023

By Todd |

Always a good time to go out your feet in the sand, make sure to go Monday through Thursday to avoid the weekend crowds and parking issues.

Great to walk along the pier.

By Sozlovesholisays |

We loved it, just like our piers in the UK!
The weather was amazing, really enjoyable way to spend a afternoon.

Fun and Relaxing

By Kristen L |

The Huntington Beach Pier is iconic. It has many fun things to do... or just simply stroll down it. With world class surfers in the water, you can sit and watch the action. Always a nice ocean breeze... come down and see for yourself.

Beach visit

By Phil S |

Just a nice walk off of the large beach with a few stores and restaurants. Very relaxing with ocean views.

Please help save this place that makes wonderful memories!

By vinniesanchez |

I live a few blocks from the pier. Grew up surfing there, fishing there and loving the great memories. Now my teenage children love to fish there and I'm finding out that the pier fishing aspect is methodically being pushed out for reasons I'm trying to figure out. The local market on PCH has no bait or tackle anymore and the fishing store on the pier is not allowed to renew their contract (which they have had for forever). I love my city and the entire community.... but the fishing needs to stay and I need advice on how to keep that activity for my family and friends. Don't worry... catch and release.

Great Place to Watch People

By Allan S |

I enjoy walking and watching people, and walking on the Huntington Beach Pier is a great place to do both. There is such a cross section of life. One highlight was watching junior lifeguards doing their training exercises. They were so enthusiastic.

Amazing view from this pier!

By Liviesmom |

I walked the Huntington Beach Pier one late afternoon. The view was amazing! There were people fishing off the pier....people strolling....shopping....and eating at the small restaurant at the tip. I can't wait to do it again

Beautiful beach

By Showchoirdad |

Great place to check out and spend some time playing on the beach. It was clean on the sand. I didn’t see people hanging around to make me uncomfortable. Bathrooms were close.

Love Watching the Surfers

By Elissa |

I love coming here to watch the surfers. It's so relaxing and the pier itself is gorgeous. I enjoy walking under the pier too-- great for photos!

I love coming here, watching the surf and surfers

By Mark V |

Take a walk and cleanse the soul. You can see very far along the coast, both north and south. If you have time, have a bite at Ruby's. It is great!

Beautiful Views of the Beach, the Coast and Catalina Island!

By 19Steven56 |

I've lived in Huntington Beach for the past 26 years and I love the Huntington Beach Pier! There are amazing views of the Pacific Ocean especially Catalina Island. Our sunsets there are the best! We also have a booming coastline with new restaurants and shops. Let's not forget that there is some great surfing activities each summer. We often stroll down the pier after a dinner on Main Street.

Surf Town

By Lily L |

Pier was a nice spot to catch so fresh air and take in the views. Surfers were out and they were fun to watch. Pier has some shops and restaurant with nice views. March was chilly so take a jacket!

Awesome beach and sunset views from this pedestrian pleasure-pier

By KodoDrummer |

I enjoy late afternoon walks along the beach and on the public pleasure-pier. The well-built, sturdy pier has a length of 1,850 feet, although about 36% of that is over the land portion of the beach. From the pier, you’ll have great views of the beach, see people playing volleyball, see and hear entertainers, see surfers waiting for a good wave, see people patiently waiting to catch a fish (and some will have already caught fish), see kites flying in the sky, and more. At the far end, you can enjoy a meal, snack, and drinks at Ruby’s Diner. This is the best located Ruby’s. There is another eatery, Duke’s Huntington Beach near the pier’s entrance. During the day, you’ll hear music blasting, and often too load for my liking.

There are benches on the pier, which some relax on while fishing and others sit on to relax while they enjoy the Pacific Ocean views.

Brilliant if only for the surfer dudes

By Ed D |

Huntington pier is probably one of the best in the area. It has charm without the horrible tacky commercialisation of many of the others. The best but the very best but is simply to stand and watch the waves created by the pier and the amazing surfing done in front of your eyes. We had difficulty pulling ourselves away as the sets of waves continued to roll. If in area do go see the spectacular show on an amazing pier.

They were surfing below is.

Pay to park, them paved or beach walking on both sides of the long pier. They were surfing, fishing ....and sunning.
Lots of people watching.

Just Amazing!

By Brian F |

Fantastic pier, with the view of Surfers, the beach, the ocean, the Fishermen, the Dolphins, the sea lions. The whole ATMOSPHERE !! GREAT!!

Stroll

By Elaine W |

A lovely stroll in the evening, loads of surfers in the water at that time so plenty to see can be a bit breezy so wrap or cardigan is handy, the old fashioned fifties diner at the end is worth a photograph inside, and a drink ( only beer or wine) to watch the sun go down, also lots of people fishing.

9:15 am on a July weekday

By KodoDrummer |

Even by 9:15 am on a July weekday, the Pier was packed with sightseers, and those out to enjoy viewing the ocean and the fresh breeze coming off it.

We love this beach and pier

By 551celesteu |

This is our familys favorite beach and pier to go to when we visit California. We just got back from spending the day there, enjoying the waves and sun. For parents with the little children, the waves are fairly big just FYI so just keep good watch over your little ones if you take them there. Not really a good place to collect shells, seal beach is better for that.

Hope you like skateboards

By BlessedPartyof5 |

First time to visit SoCal. Taking in the sites of Pacific Coast Highway. Major flow of traffic, easily driving 55 mph in the fast lane of 4 lane highway. Suddenly cars in lanes are swerving but with the traffic solid there was limited places to go. A riderless skateboard was shooting thru an intersection! It was massive chaos! Skateboard parts whizzing by and banging cars. Completely unavoidable for the drivers - HOWEVER, can the skateboard riders avoid riding near four lane highways???? Not a very positive impression as the board was lodged under our Jaguar at one point. 👎🏻👎🏻

Beautiful view!

By Jamie H |

We spent the day wandering Huntington Beach and enjoyed the pier. We had lunch at Ruby's and watched the waves come in. It was a great experience!

Wonderful Large Pier

By glittertravel |

Such a lovely pier. It is a great place to take a leisurely walk and watch people fishing and surfing. The views are beautiful and on a nice day this is such a fun spot. I found Ruby's at the end of the pier so I'll try that next time.

A Great pier

By 0221Serendipity |

The pier at Huntington Beach is not only beautiful. It's also a great place for taking in a California Sunset, for fishing or for people watching. Weekdays aren't as crowded as it gets here on weekends.

Cool

By Estoywilliam |

First time visiting and absolutely enjoyed it. A must come and see if you are in Huntington Beach or should I say that you haven’t been to Huntington Beach if you don’t go to the pier

Pretty location

By Dizneylvr1971_10 |

So pretty. This was the first time three of our party had ever seen the Pacific Ocean. We walked to the end of the pier and back, enjoying the few shops as well. Then we went below the pier and let the kids play in the sand and the water for a while. There were some homeless around, but we never felt unsafe or bothered. It was a nice few hours.

Lovely ocean view and nice long pier to stroll on with craft vendors and lots of restaurants nearby

By Brown_Samantha |

We really like Huntington Beach because it is very clean and pedestrian friendly. The pier is a nice and long stroll for all ages. We browsed through the crafts vendors at the start. It is a great place to enjoy the waves, surfers, gorgeous sunny weather. Just a lovely place.

A tip on parking. You can find plenty of paid street parking or lot parking. We enjoy walking so we parked just a block in from the main PCH 1, around 14th street. The street parking there is FREE.

If you are having lunch or dinner at Pacific City, many restaurants there also validate parking for 2 hours.

Worth it.

By Philip B |

Take a stroll on the world famous Huntington Beach pier. Walking out to Ruby’s and looking around will give you zen in your life. Great place to take pictures with the family at sunset.

Fab funky town

By Annie O |

We spent our last two nights of our USA trip at this town and so glad we did. The beach is fantastic massive golden sand with big waves. Perfect for all the surfers who go there. The town itself is lovely with loads of shops, bars and restaurants with a fab laid back surfer vibe.

We will definitely be returning.

Fantastic!

By GreggCochran |

What a wonderful pier! It was such a fun walk and they even have a Ruby’s diner at the end!! Beach, burgers, and milkshakes.....what could be better??!! 😀 🍔 ☀️

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Nice walk on Father's Day

By HPDRoy711 |

Nice pier and had a few souvenier shops to look in. Great views of surfing competion the day we were there. We enjoy walking to the end and back when we're in town. Looks like the restaurant at the end is vacant. Maybe they can get that up and running again sometime.

Great Views!

By MayfieldParrish |

Pier splits Huntington Beach in half. From the end of the pier you get a great panorama of the entire beach as well as surfing and volleyball courts. Parking is available directly in front of the pier for around $15 or so. Distance from parking to the pier is really close. They have a variety of restaurants, souvenir shops on and around the pier.

A day fishing is definitely better than...

By Jimmy |

Which pier should I take relatives from overseas to visit and enjoy? Santa Monica pier was a zoo a few days before when we visited so we ended up at Huntington Beach pier partly because I had free pier parking because I had bought a new car last year from one of the participating dealers in HB. It was a weekday and we were able to park close to the pier and take our fishing equipment and find a fishing spot easily. It was clean, had cleaning stations and cutting stations, restrooms, bait and sundry business and a restaurant at the end of the pier. My guests love the experience and voted it ahead of Santa Monica pier.

Great place to take a stroll and surf-watch

By WandererPS |

I came here for the beachfront paved trail and was not disappointed. There is so much to view along your walk, all while keeping sand out of your shoes! Walk down the pier and watch the surfers, There is an awesome kite shop on the pier and there were a ton of people on the beach nearby flying amazing and interesting kites like I'd never seen before. I did not try the restaurant at the pier but it seemed lively. People were also playing beach volleyball.

Nice clean beach

By christy |

Nice clean beach and pier. Has public restrooms. You can rent a bike or surfboard, play volleyball, or just people watch. Parking is cheap. Nice little shopping area with lots of restaurants. No homeless or dirtiness. Surfers are fun to watch.

Loved this event and beach! Found parking easy a block off beach ( before noon) Fun clean beach. Would go back.

A must visit

By RickHnh |

Check out the Peir watch some fantastic volleyball!
Very cool and an awesome beach, shopping and easy parking adjacent

Good view from a long pier

By C&R |

The Pier is nice and long and the view is great. It is in great condition and is a popular walk on the weekend and can be crowded.

Awesome Views but Disgusting Bathrooms.

By Adam K |

The pier, the shops and the views were fantastic. We sat up there, watched the surfers, and had a great time. However, if you even think you may have to use the restroom I would go beforehand. I made the mistake of opening the door to a couple of these and I can honestly say that I would rather go in my pants than even walk into that disgustingness. Needless to say I held it until we went for lunch. As long as you don't need a pit stop, this place is great.

Nice for a relaxing stroll

By Cdinges |

Sun, sand, ocean spray, light exercise, people watching and lots of surfers! It can seem a bit long, especially when it's hot out. Good thing there is a Ruby's at the very end of the pier so you can order a refreshing drink or treat for yourself! There's a sit down restaurant with Ruby's theme downstairs and Tiki Room theme upstairs or just order from the walk up window and get your treat to go!

Pier

By AnjanManda |

You get beautiful view of coastline from the pier.Take a long walk on the pier till the end.Enjoy the good view of surfers and waves from high above.Stroll through craft/ gift shops.Good place to watch sunset. There is restaurant at the end of pier.Try fishing.Out on the beach you can sit and relax watching ocean or try beach volley ball.

awesome time

By floodkody17 |

this was awesome time. water was a little cold just time of year we went. was extremely open friendly environment. kids had a blast running in the sand and playing in the water

Worth the Walk

By Jaydub321 |

The HB pier is a clean, well-built structure with two shops and a great restaurant at the end, Ruby's diner. It is a very long pier and whales and great white sharks have been seen from the end. It is also a great surf spot and is always surrounded by great surfers.
The pier is great for dinner art Ruby's, an after dinner stroll, or to check out the waves and surfers. If you're in the area, definitely check it out.

Super cool place

By RK Zachary |

The Pier is a must visit. There was a surf rock band playing next to the Pier on a Sunday. Lots to see and do. Beach is wide. Plenty of room.

Great View of the Ocean and the Beach

By John M |

If your not getting in the water the next best thing is to go out on the pier. Wife and I were able to walk out and do some really nice people watching, wave watching and shore watching from the end of the pier. Watch out for the fisherman that dot the pier but they are fun to watch, too.

Nice beach and shopping area.

By Lord Farquaad |

Nice little town, friendly people all around. Many surfing shops and plant of waves. The Pier was nicely kept walk out over the water to watch surfers.

Very nice and chill

By dinfamily2009 |

Came to Huntington Beach to spend the day and relax - it was great. kids played all day in the sand. Absolutely great vibe, just relaxation.
The Beach is clean and very big, except the washrooms were pretty gross (but given the number of people, it's no surprise). Parking is reasonable (price and the number of spaces).
Later on we went to the pier, it's a nice stroll, great place to catch some nice views of the ocean and feel its breeze. Beautiful!
Also, we were able to watch some people surfing - that was neat.

Amazing sunsets

By poems71 |

HB pier is full of a mix of locals and tourists and everyone seems to be having a nice mellow time (except the loud and ubiquitous bible thumpers). There is usually someone performing music, and watching the volleyball players, surfers and fisherpeople (my new word of the day) is nice. Then, the sun goes down and the sky lights up with a panoramic view of every type of lit up clouds you could imagine. It is spectacular.

Beautiful view and experience.

By 723tami |

Love it! Great photo spot. Saw a seal hanging by the Pier. The shops there were very affordable. Lots of places to fish and watch the surfers. I could spend the whole day here.

All day fun for all

By Sonya N |

Lovely and clean pier with a few cute shops and a diner. Lots of surfers and fishermen. The sunset was one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. The pier was the perfect setting for it. Downtown was within a very short walk and had lots of great stores and restaurants.

Great spot for people watching!

By Brooke N |

On the pier you can see people fishing, watching the surfers below, and walking with friends. The pier offers a great view of Huntington Beach! You can spend 5 minutes or half the day on the pier!

Go here at Sunset!

By Mr_FennecFox |

Picture speaks for itself. Just be patient, you'll find a car park. There are awesome places to eat or hire a bike and go for a cycle. Fantastic place. Only thing that killed the atmosphere was the amount of people fishing off the pier was a bit overwhelming. But I get it, thats what it's there for! Haha.

Busy beach

By E-Lynn-Br |

Very nice beach. I only go to California in the winter, so that’s my perspective. Busy but not overly crowded. Clean. Lots of parking with self pay stations. Watch the surfers, fishing on the pier, sand volleyball. Wide expanse of sand, no rocks. Bike path runs through the beach and goes south to Newport Beach and north all the way to sunset beach.

Loved it

By Krussell001 |

Loved the beach and all the activities. Bathrooms were pretty gross so make sure you go before you get there but everything else is amazing.

Great Weather

By Linda B |

Great time of year to visit, not too hot and not too cool. We were not here on the weekend so we did not have a huge crowd. It was a perfect day.

Stay for the sunset!

By Lucky RN |

The Huntington Beach Pier is a great experience for young and old. There is a charge for parking. The area is very safe - law enforcement patrols the area frequently. There is shopping as well as many restaurants nearby. Ruby's is at the end of the pier and has great food. The sunset views from the end of the pier are endless beauty!

Great views from the pier

By fbglove |

It's an iconic spot in Huntington Beach with an interesting history. It's lovely to stroll along and look down on the beach and volleyball games... and then walk out further to view the ocean from the end of the pier.

A must do

By MnJsDad |

So we’re from Florida. The beaches on the east coast so I was not really interested in a pier. Wow was I wrong. The pier is full of life just before sunset and into the night. It is alive with musicians and street performers. Families are all gathering to walk the pier, listen to music, and snap a photo. This is by far the best place to get the best sunset pictures. You watch the surfers surf into the night as the pier is fixed with lights. Then there is Ruby’s diner at the end, all 1850 feet out over the water.

Beautiful day

By Schmootoo1027 |

Worth the walk, lots of locals and people to chat with, countless people fishing. Good place to have your morning coffee. Numerous places to rent bikes from

Beach Volleyball and Surf

Great Pier to watch the Surfers

By BATMAN & CATWOMAN |

Huntington Beach and Pier is so beautiful to walk , run , surf or swim. It is great place to people watch, especially the surfers. There are several places to grab a bite and walk the pier.

Huntington beach pier

By RoyaltyC |

I love to do a beach walk here. Many beautiful photo opportunities to be had. There are many restaurants nearby. Pacific City across the street has many shops. Love seeing surfers, anglers, swimmers and the beautiful and huge ocean and waves.

The Farmers Market on Friday - a must see!

By Susan K |

Walked the pier but was fascinated with the Farmers Market and Art Fair. Nice art and the natural food booth was delicious! Bought some of the items and will certainly go back again!

Beautiful view!

By Anita L |

This is the perfect place to go if you want a great panoramic view of Huntington Beach in it’s entirety!

What a view!!

By alaurentino |

We could see it from our hotel room and when we got there we were amazed by the great view it offers.

Very cool views

By Brian M |

I didn’t just enjoy watching the waves and the surfers, it was interesting to watch the people too. 1 pm on a Thursday and everyone was out enjoying the day as it it were Sunday. Ruby’s diner sits at the end of the pier, I didn’t eat there but the walk to it was enjoyable.

Great old pier to visit

By joemY3087XB |

Went to pier last weekend and had a great time. The people watching was fantastic. There was a surf competition going on and many people playing volleyball. Pier was fairly crowded as it was a nice day. There is a Ruby’s Diner at the end. Easy walk if you had kids with you.

Beautiful spot

By Emily T |

Huntington Beach is a wonderful place to visit any time of the year and the Pier is a great spot to walk and take everything in! I had a race start from here recently and it is a perfect central spot - there's lots of restaurants, shops, and bars around to catch a bite to eat or shop, and there's a beach path that you can walk or bicycle on if you aren't into walking long distances in the sand. It is beautiful here at any time of day but don't miss the breathtaking sunset! There are many parking options nearby (street, meter, or garage) and the beach is very clean and well-maintained.

Huntington Beach Pier, California

By Patrice Herring |

Had a walk down busy Main Street and then down the pier. Last Saturday they had a kite festival. It was amazing watching the experts showing off their skills! Lots of people surfing, playing volleyball and just walking the beach. At the end of the pier look out for dolphins or you can eat at Ruby’s but this time we opted to eat at a little authentic Roman pizza place next to the International Surfing Museum! The pizza was gorgeous! It’s a great way to spend an afternoon!

Gotta love HB

By LILI H |

Huntington Beach Pier is a must-see! Beautiful views of the ocean, surfers, and sunsets that never disappoint. The atmosphere is lively yet relaxing, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Perfect spot for a stroll, taking photos, or just enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. An iconic SoCal experience—absolutely worth 5 stars!

Always something to see

By Jayfromcali |

We take out of town friends to this area often. Normally on the weekends there is some kind of contest or another. Competitive kite flying, surfing or some other beachy sport. There are plenty of eats along the walk that will give you a chance to rest and people watch.
My out of town friends always seem to enjoy it. Parking is better than most areas but still they charge money and do patrol it looking for violators.
The good the bad the ugly....
The good: the view and variety of food/drink
The bad: the parking
The ugly: pick pockets and beggars. There are a few of them. Police do monitor the area but it still happens... Do not let that run you off. Beware and forewarned just don't be an easy mark... it is a very enjoyable time.

Long finger in the Pacific

By Duane D |

Interesting looking pier with a restaurant at the end. Nice walk but minimal attractions. Nice place to watch surfers an beach volleyball. Nothing exciting here unless you are into walking and dodging the many, many tourists. The beach is gorgeous and well groomed by the city. Nice for a short vacation.

Nice pier for a walk

By Cristina |

If you are in the area do not miss the opportunity for a walk on the pier. In addition to the natural spectacle of the beach and the ocean, it is great to see the many surfers riding the waves.

Very Cool

Iconic, quintessential SoCal landmark!

By Louis R |

Quintessential, iconic, and legendary. No other way to describe this California landmark. An absolute must-see on any SoCal trip.

Great ambience and scenery

By edq88222 |

This location is weather sensitive - it can be cold to hot depending on the season and the time of day. Parking is free for 90 minutes in the city operated lots, two blocks away. Metered parking is available nearby. When the swell is up, surfers can be watched. Avoid confrontations with the occasional aggressive people, especially after dark.

Unbelievable, must stop

By Nick C |

Absolute must stop for those traveling to the area. Great family stop. So many things to do and see. Food, games, sites. We happened to be there for the Vans US Open and it was a vibe you couldn’t recreate. It was awesome! Kids loved it. Highly recommended!

Fun, fun, fun, and my Daddy never took the T-Bird Away

The pier was really fun! A craft market begins the journey and there are lots of cute shops on the way out to the end. There are great "people watching" opportunities as well.

Being from the east coast, the views are unreal.

Super cool pier, it was awesome watching all the fisherman who you could tell were experienced casting and catching. Hundreds of surfers you could watch all day too. Nice little diner/restaurant at the end of the pier. Plenty of public bathrooms

Nice walk along the beach

By Ronald R |

It is a nice beach a must if visiting Long Beach, the Pier is nice for a walk, as there is a few souvenirs shops, a few entertainers, and lots of people. You can rent bike to ride the broad walk and many restaurants in the surroundings, easy to past a full day at the beach

Love the beach and the people!

By Matt Roelandts |

Great beach to go to! Lots of people and things happening! Parking is taken care of by metered parking. The pier is great, water is definitely cold, but walking the beach is great!

beautiful views, but crowded + touristy spot

By denise |

HB pier is so nice to walk along, especially since it's very big. However, it can get pretty busy especially in the summer and warm afternoons. The Ruby's at the end of the pier is very iconic and I like spending time at the end, looking out into the ocean. There's a lot to do around the pier -- food and entertainment downtown or at Pacific City and there's always the beach! It's definitely a very touristy place, so I usually go in the early mornings or during cooler months.

Fantastic

By Rick186411 |

A scenic view and magical walk with lots of photo opportunities . There’s a Resturant and fishermen on the pier as well as gift shops

Classic Cali

By Tracey P |

HB is quintessential Southern California! Great boardwalk for walking. Had a great time watching the surfers by the pier. Parking is expensive in the lot, but we used the meter parking on the street, which is more reasonably priced.

Awesome Day! Definitely a must go to beach!

By Brad M |

Family of 7 went and spent the day here, ate at Dukes for lunch which was good, walked the pier and spent a good poriton of the day on the beach and in the water. We have not been out here in a while. I forgot how fun Huntington Beach pier is. Clean and wonderful, the sand sunshine ocean water watching the people surf.

Great place to watch the surfers!

By seasideljs |

We went to the pier to watch the surfers and the fishermen. We also enjoyed shopping at two shops part of the way down the pier. It’s a beautiful pier. There are restrooms part of the way down the pier as well as benches. Across the street from the pier on Main Street are many restaurants and shops. We went to a tourist information kiosk by the street to see if they had any kind of coupons. They had several dessert type coupons. We enjoyed exploring Main St. after the pier and having lunch and a discounted dessert! This pier and Main St. area made for a fun day!

The iconic Huntington Beach Pier

By Steve F |

A must visit when in Huntington Beach. Whether it be in summer or winter anytime is the right time to "walk the pier". Would be best if there were good size waves breaking to watch the surfing. Even if there aren't any waves which is rare, the walk and scenery are wonderful. Ruby's at the end of the pier with Jan and Deans Tiki Bar upstairs, a must for both tourists and locals alike.

the Pier at HB

By john h |

The Pier at the end of Main street in Huntington Beach, Cal is a great place to see the pacific Ocean.
There is a large number of restaurants and shops to visit.

Nice Place to Spend Weekends

By betty l |

We were here during a recent trip to Los Angeles and we wanted to go to the beach and this was the nearest beach to our hotel in La Mirada. This beach has several attractions. You can browse souvenirs at the numerous beach stalls and shops, dine at the restaurants, play beach volleyball, go cycling or simply people watching.

Nice place to spend a summer weekend because of the many things you can do here.

Fun with a Capital F

By Chelsea K |

This whole area was really fun for our family, but the Pier made for a wonderful morning walk to watch birds, surfers and fisherman pulling all sorts of things out of the water. Breakfast at the very tip was fantastic!

Views of the Pacific

By Carolinesc7 |

This is a nice, large pier for a walk. Being from the East Coast, we enjoyed seeing the views of the volleyball nets, surfers, and lifeguard huts-Baywatch style. The beaches there are very different than what we are used to. Check it out, right off the PCH!

Gorgeous sunset

By wacotxtraveler |

We took a stroll down the pier at sunset and it was beautiful. Lots of people enjoying the evening and lots of fishermen but didn’t see any fish being caught. A “must do” while in Huntington Beach.

Loaded with people, even on a Monday morning

By InnaYYZ |

On a Monday morning, we toured parts of Huntington Beach and Fashion Island. Of all Huntington Beach, the HB Pier was by far the most crowded, possibly due to the upcoming surfing competition. Wonderful views from the pier.

The Pier

By erivashb |

The pier at Huntington Beach is an amazing experience. Great views in all directions and not crowded or congested. There is a Ruby’s at the end of the pier but there are a bunch of restaurants within walking distance. Lots of fishing going on but not so much it takes away from the family time or walking with a loved one.

Skip It

By tshep42 |

Nothing here. Couple of souvenir shops is it. There is a restaurant at the end but was closed. If you want to fish, there was lots of anglers and a shop to rent you the equipment.

The only reason to walk on the pier is for the great view of the beach.

Very windy and therefore cold, so bring a sweater. Had to buy my wife one at the souvenir shop.

Duke's is at the start of the pier and I recommend this as a place to eat. Main Street is right across from the pier with all the main shopping and dining area.

So the Huntington Beach pier is beautiful you can walk right out you can see the surfboarders really close and the towers right there to watch them being safe it’s a beautiful walk out and a beautiful walk back and Sandy’s and Dukes at the end delicious

Beautiful!

By AMY |

The most famous destination for surfing, although it was cold, people were surfing and swimming, I wish I could but wasn't prepared. You can see the area reserved when international competitions are running and imagine how busy the beach will be. Will be back again soon!

The pier was great for watching surfers but the bathrooms, ugh!

By Melaney68 |

We enjoyed walking along the beach where many families were spending the day. Although the water seemed cold the kids were playing in it. It was impressive to watch the surfers from the pier but the public bathrooms left a lot to be desired.

Ehhhhhhh

By DND2020 |

I love a good beach and had heard good things about Huntington so I decided to check it out. The beach wasn’t too crowded and was overall pretty clean which was nice.

I had heard that the pier was a must see but upon arrival it seemed pretty underwhelming as it appeared to only have shops that sell overpriced souvenirs to tourists, some fishermen, and several homeless people underneath it. Also, the public bathrooms nearby looked and smelled horrendous to the point where I practically threw up as I opened the door to several stalls trying to find a clean one.

I tried to not let all these negative aspects get to me but the final nail in the coffin were these two rude snobby women on bikes. They practically ran us down when we were trying to cross the bike trail to go from the restaurant we were at to the beach. We had plenty of time to cross without being in the way but they made no attempt to slow down or move over even though they had plenty of space to do so, and then wanted to make snarky comments, like really?

I was looking forward to this part of our trip but it was somewhat of a letdown. Overall, Huntington’s not a bad beach but not a great one either. I would suggest stopping by if in the area but would definitely not go out of the way to see it. It did have a beautiful sunset through the day I went!

Beautiful scenary

Such a beautiful place. For recreational, kill your free time and stress release.

Ample parking lots, pedestrian and cycling road, lots of food vendor nearby, pharmacy and beautifully scenary.

Relax

By John M |

Great way to forget about streets, cars and busy ness. We live locally but routinely take an hour or more decompress a bit. Pelicans may greet you. You may cite sea lions or dolphins at the end of the pier. And when you're done there, plenty of places to grab a beer on Main St. Cheers!

Cool place to take photos. Che k out Duke’s Restaurant for lunch/dinner! This is a busy place when the weather is awesome. Super fun.

Great dinner love this place!

By brmezz |

This place always satisfied above and beyond.
Beautiful beach/surf theme right on the beach. Fresh fish every day and preparation is beautiful.

We had the herb crusted halibut and the Mahi. And great cocktails. Them for a anniversary treat they comped us "hula pie" unreal!

Great bar and starters too.
You can't go wrong here for location, cocktails or the full meal.
Make a reservation.
Sunday brunch also killer!

Not Bad

By Dick Teubner |

Not bad, but my bill was $100 after two beers and three meals. The location is great. You can walk on the beach afterwards.

Beautiful views

By michelleshanksbrown |

We loved the views from the pier. There are also souvenir shops and a restaurant location on the pier. We got several things from one of the shops. It was windy and a bit chilly up on the pier though. We bought hoodies in July... lol Be prepared for the cool wind!

Nice Pier, a few shops and great Rubys

By lost_bobcat |

We rode our bikes here from our campground at Bolsa Chica, had to walk the bikes on the pier. Lots of fishing going on everywhere. A few souviner shops and a Ruby's at the end of the pier was great.

Great place to visit!

By Kathyrn D |

We love including Huntington Beach Pier in our walk when we are in HB. The pier has a gorgeous view of the waves, and the beach. lots of people on or near the pier - great ot watch the surfers, the kite flyers and the folks fishing. A definite must when in Huntington Beach.

Huntington beach and pier visit

By Pradeep K |

Yesterday we visited Huntington beach and ate at Pie-Not. The pier view was very beautiful. Wide and shallow coastline on the backdrop of distant snow covered mountains, palm trees !. Wow, that was a fantastic view. A must see location.

Surf city

By Love2Travel100 |

Right here in July on a solo trip people were very friendly as a long pier can take beautiful pictures of the sunset the water was really cold limited seashells but the same was very nice Surf City so you can see the Surfers catching the waves fun to watch good food a little shops around would definitely go back

I just visited “HB” or also called: “Surf City” and it has completely changed to the positive.

By THOMASFROMDAMASCUS |

The city of Huntington Beach that I remember while going to university in Southern California was a real disaster and was not really safe. I just visited “HB” or also called: “Surf City” and it has completely changed to the positive. The downtown area has been modernized and yet has retained a certain charm with many restaurants and shops.
It also has maintained their famous statue of “Duke” the legendary Hawaiian Surfer. I was with family and it was really nice to simply stroll down the couple of central city streets and to leisurely walk on their still beautiful Huntington Beach Pier.
If you find yourself in the area I strongly suggest that you simply chill out and visit many of the shops; restaurants and pier in the city of Huntington Beach…you will not be disappointed…

Favourite Spot

By WeLTTravel2 |

Our first visit to the Huntington Beach area and it did not disappoint! We stayed in downtown LA and after visiting for the day (St. Patty's Day) I wish we stayed in this area and traveled to LA. Such an amazing spot, so clean and inviting with tons of souvenir shops, pubs and restaurants along the walk to the Pier. The beach and pier are spectacular. I would recommend this over Santa Monica Pier, the beach is much cleaner and there are no homeless

Great beach to stay

By Jeane A |

The beach is clean and nice a big parking lot !
2 Dollar each hour
You can get e bikes / bikes / rollers etc

Fun Pier to Visit!

By Ken Q |

The pier gives you more great views of the area. You can watch the surfers going their thing. Definitely worth a visit.

Must See

By Caroline M |

Went here several times - sometimes on m own and sometimes with others. What a fun place to visit - even if it is only for people watching. See the surfers early in the day, noon and evening.

Great pier for pictures

By Shary |

It's different from Santa Monica Pier but I much prefer it. It's tranquil, nice and such a cool beach front and all. Huntington Beach is also great for sports and pictures and has lovely sunsets.

Quick trip

By LE B |

Visited on recommendations from a friend
Enjoyed exploring the area
Good food and location to explore the surrounding areas such as Anaheim, LA, and long beach

Family vacation

By Duran915 |

Great View!! Must see, beautiful view. Lots to see and do. Very close by to outdoor activities and stores. Everything is within walking distance.

Amazing

By Ann S |

Make sure you take this wonderful walk on the pier. Local fisherman love to chat. Rent some of your own Rods and enjoy the fun.

Extortion

By Kurtis K |

Nice pier , although most every restaurant and pub in the area charge high prices and are expecting their gratuity after every order. . the host at Sandy's Beach Shack told us it was starting at $75 for a table for two , and just down the way at Saint Marc Pub, one Bartender had to have his gratuity right there and then , or he would not serve us another round! Also we booked a room online at The Sun n Sands hotel who had to tax us an additional $20 fee when we got there. I got the notion they all want you splash your money around over here, or you’re not welcome. That’s not what I had in mind.

Beautiful view and good shopping area

By Jason M |

Great place to spend the day and find your inner Californian. Highly recommend as it does not get any cleaner/nicer then this ☀️

Not quite Baywatch!

By Epicureously |

To be fair the weather was poor when we visited. Huntington Beach is huge. The town itself is very tacky and the pier is concrete and tarmac so not that attractive. Loads of drifters lurking around the pier and town generally.

What a place

By L. Visentainer |

If you are in California, you must save some time to spend at Huntington Beach. The pier is gonna be the high point of your visit. Over there you'll find nice memorabilia to buy, musicians playing g all around and good food, not mentioning the amazing view of the Pacific! A must go!

Iconic Pier in the West Coast

By MDOGP |

This is one of the longest piers in the West Coast. Views are beautiful from the pier.
It is one of the most important parts of the city.
There is also a few restaurants in the pier.

Epic surf spot and people watching

By Dana Los Angeles |

This is one of the great surf locations on the California coast, and you can view great surf from above on the pier. A California experience overloooking the Pacific Ocean at no cost with all kinds of people enjoying the outdoors.

Surfers at Huntington Beach

By Ich bin ich |

A walk on the pier and the beach near the pier is not to be missed when you are in Huntington Beach. I saw more surfers here than at other beaches.

Piers are always fun to walk on.

By ggintruckee |

Great views, people watching, getting ifit steps in, fishing off, watching sunrise and sunset. Also can have a meal or snack from the retail areas on the pier.

Cool breezes

By maxpaste |

The pier is something you must visit just to get a nice view and perhaps see a sunset. There are a few shops out there but it’s mostly just an exercise in walking out and back and enjoying the. Reese and view.

Just a lovely

By m4slcsam |

What a lovely place to visit whilst holidaying. We're travelling from Aus. Having a down day and visited here. What as lovely little place. Well worth as visit. Beach is lovely, pier is great with a good selection of shops/bars/restaurants.

Surf City USA

By DDMSolutions |

Having lived here most of my life it never gets old. During the summer months the Pier and Main Street is always busy with all sort of events. This weekend went to see the Cars and Copter event. Never seen so many great Super Cars in one place.

The quintessential Huntington Beach experience. Walk the Pier

By Kelly B |

The Pier is the most obvious stop in Huntington Beach. On any given day, there are folks walking the Pier, fishing or experiencing the waves. It's the best spot to watch the surfers without getting on the sand. Go at sunset, the view is fantastic. Stop and talk to a fisherman. Walk to the end for a snack at Ruby's. Or, Buy a souvenir at the gift shop! It's a great walk.

Huntington Beach visit 2019

By Debra D |

The pier at Huntington Beach is a must see! A beautiful beach city with its own dog beach. Very clean and well kept. Lots of shopping and stores close to the beach as well. Bikes and scooters are available to rent along the walkway near the beach. The pier has shops and a restaurant at the end of it and people fish from the pier as well.

Great place to take it all in!!

By bmorris1929 |

The pier is iconic and always a good time. There are shops and restrooms and food available. There is plenty of room to walk around and see the fisherman and surfers. It is a good place to scout out things and plan your day at the beach. Always well kept and clean.

Go on a day that is not very windy

By JBernard20 |

We enjoyed a short stroll on the pier, but cut it short because it was so windy. It was fun seeing all the surfers, but being a southern gal, felt the Pacific Ocean water was unbelievably cold to be in.

Beautiful Sunset View

By Tarah W |

Since I visited in January, it wasn’t crowded at all. It was peaceful and I enjoyed a stroll at sunset. If you’re looking for sunset views, or want to watch the surfers, this is the spot!

Corporate Traveler

By TRISCIA T |

Beautiful area. Public Restrooms were very dirty but atmosphere was nice. Loved watching the surfers

Surf City Huntington Beach Great Choice

By LCS1016 |

I'm a native from LA. I've gone to many of our beaches. I have to admit that I hadn't been to Huntington in years.. We had first time visitors with surf interests that led me to choose Huntington. Wow, what a nice upgrade. Very family friendly. Nice main street with shops and restaurants, parking structures. The Pier is a nice feature. We liked that there were friendly Police around. The younger members of the group rented boogie boards and went body surfing while others watched from the pier and walked around town. A nice destination for a family outing

My favorite walking place

By CarlsTimelessTravel |

Walking downtown Huntington Beach and it's beautiful pier is very enlightening and serene, many shops, restaurants downtown with Ruby's at the end of the pier. I enjoy watching the surfers and fishermen while taking in the sunshine. A must when in Huntington Beach! 5 Stars!

I always feel the most relaxed at the beach

By Debbie |

The pier is a fun stroll, especially if you can't walk on the beach. The sound and sight of the waves crashing on the pier is the most soothing sound to me. Plus it is a fun place to people watch!

Walk-in the pier

By stephenbell77 |

Pier was beautiful. It was a great time of year to spend time out at the ocean. Days in the upper 70’s to low 80’s and nights in the low 60’s. Not busy either. Walked to end to eat at Ruby’s. Plenty of fishermen to watch along the way as well as a couple stores to browse.

Nice pier

By Lorry T |

We enjoyed visiting the pier. We sat on a bench and watched the surfers. There were a lot of families enjoying the pier. Some people were fishing. There were musicians and a juggler. Overall a fun day!

Huntington pier

Loved walking the pier and having a meal at Rubys. Enjoyed watching the waves and taking pics.so much to see and do.

Great fun with Family

By Bernadette Fernandes |

we love coming to Huntington Beach with my kids one of the best beaches to go to in California
definitely worth visiting id you are in OC. Day use costs $15 per car. During workday it was calm but there are people all the time
there’s alot of shopping stores and restaurants

Nice family simple fun

By hollings04unc |

We stayed across the street at Kimpton and enjoyed walking over to the pier. Nice relaxing set up with a great set up for tourists like my family.

A nice walk on the pier

By Stuart S |

Unfortunately it was cold and raining the day we visited but there was still plenty of surfers and a surfing competition taking place. There was also training being conducted for young surf lifesavers who had to jump off the pier into the surf. Still it was a pleasant walk but would be better on a nice sunny day.

Awesome views and events!

By jstein2018 |

Love the pier and the restaurants, the beach and the vendors. A must see, you will not be sorry. GO watch the sunset, breathtaking.

Beach for all

By Sam3011 |

Be it sea sports for adults, Activities for kids, cycling, or leisure beach activities, Huntington Beach Pier has it all. Waters are clean, beach and area around is huge so everyone gets to enjoy their own space. It may not be as hyped as Santa Monica but good to visit if you are staying near Anaheim during your LA visit. it is not more than 20-30 mins drive away from Anaheim.

Great Pier

By dambanker |

One of the best places to visit. The beach of course is perfect, especially if you're into surfing. The pier always has surfers nearby and its a great vantage point to watch from. Its always a fun walk, with a couple touristy souvenir shops and vendors. At the end there's a restaurant as well, but truthfully I miss the old Rubys. If you're here is a must do.

California Sun

By Hilberaldi |

Discover the best of Southern California culture, the most authentic surfing lifestyle and 16 miles of coastline in Huntington Beach, a welcoming town. A worthwhile trip are the beaches located in this region (Southern California), especially Huntington Beach. After two full days at the Disneyland and California Adventure Park parks in Anaheim, we decided to have a free day at the beaches to rest a little from the hustle and bustle of the amusement parks. We left early and drove to Huntington Beach (38 km from Anaheim), one of the most beautiful beaches in California, named Surf City, where you can visit a super cool surf museum, the International Surfing Museum, the Pier which is very beautiful, you will also find hotels near the sea, shops and restaurants that are great for enjoying the best coastal weather in California. Several rock bands were born in Huntington Beach, such as The Offspring and Avenged Sevenfold. It has a beautiful mural made by artists and the Huntington Beach plaque carved in concrete. The Pier is simple but very cozy, we stop at a cafe to enjoy a delicious cupcake and a coffee drink, feeling the sea breeze on the face and the energy of this beautiful region of California. With fabulous options scattered all over Huntington Beach, the dining scene can only be described as eclectic, with never-changing little taquerias and cafes, as well as new restaurants that use fresh local ingredients in creative ways. There is certainly something to please even the most demanding palates. On the day we visited the site there was a peaceful protest of war veterans on the beach sand, there were people playing volleyball and many surfers enjoying that sunny morning. We walked around the city, very well organized, safe and clean. From here we head further south to Newport Beach.

A brilliant beach for surfers and families

By louisj92 |

No wonder this beach gets a shout out in one of the Beach Boys hits, the sand is beautifully soft and white and there is plenty of space to settle in the sun or get involved in some beach sports. The sea was great for
swimming, playing in the waves and there were surfers too. Plenty of people were also fishing off the pier, where the life guards were, so a definite all-round stop for everyone. At the back of the beach, next to the pier was a bar, a bit noisy for my liking, but convenient. Parking was easy and about $10 for the day. You have a short walk from there, through shops and cafes down to the beach, nothing to arduous. We decided to come here twice during our stay and would certainly go back if we're in the area again.

Such a lovely place

By ramona_atkin |

Relaxing and fun! You can see the waves, surfers, boats and enjoy the breeze. A little chilly at night, get a jacket!
Warm during the day :)

Vacation

By Pathfinder690225 |

Great fun place for families to hang out. Lots to do around there. Beach is very nice and clean. A lot of shops and restaurants near the pier.

Can we get some security please

By SueBlue962 |

Definitely a Surf City vibe, but we saw many sketchy things going on and were glad that our visit was during the day. The beach, waves, view, and pier are one of the top that Southern California has to offer, but we were uncomfortable with all the obvious drug deals, drinking, and homeless people. So, after a short walk we went over to the Main Street area.

Day at Huntington Beach

By Socalchat |

I have lots of kids and we wanted to spend the day at the beach. Huntington is a great beach. Best place is near the pier. Lots of beach with many fire pits. There are shopping centers across the street. Great views up and down the beach. The kid’s loved going in the waves and playing in the sand. It was a great day for us all.

Nice Breeze and Views

By Miranda C |

Street artists commonly perform here. There are many souvenir shops here to remember your time at the Huntington Beach Pier. The breeze is very nice, especially along the boardwalk and the shore. The sound of ocean waves breaking is calming. From the pier, you can watch the people surfing and get a gorgeous view of the seashore. You can also eat at Ruby's or go fishing. The beach curfew is from 10 pm - 5 am. If you are a parent, please look after your kid's safety because of the Robin Samsoe incident.

Views abound

By Damian A |

Beautiful views can be scene from almost anywhere on the pier. Just take it all in as you stroll along and you’ll enjoy yourself. Restaurants are all near by so just take your pick on what you fancy.

Family fun

By Traci F |

Great place to watch the surfers and do a little fishing. You can hang out here for hours. Cute little souvenir shop

Very pleasant walk

By Helene |

Although there was a lot of fog during our visit, the place is very nice.
We could see surfing and seals.
Very pretty, if you pass by, I advise you to go, the view is amazing

Worth the Walk

By Lisa O |

We walked to the end of the pier and it was worth the walk. We spotted a lot of surfers that day, a few fishermen and a crazy pelican. Love the people watching!

Nice Stroll

By Cappie G |

Be sure to walk the Pier then go under and watch the waves come in and out. Don't forget your camera.

Finished our breakfast at Sandy's and needed to walk it off

By J B |

It was such a change of scenery for us traveling from land-locked Colorado. Even though hot it was a pleasant walk along the pier. The salt water smell of the ocean and the cool breeze as we watched the surfers many feet below. We enjoyed the gift shops on the return portion of the stroll...lasting memories... forever

Beautiful beach, lovely views!

By HavekKidsWillTravel |

Beautiful beach with lovely views. Glad we got to visit and take a break from our Disneyland trip to come. Uber-ed to and from our Anaheim hotel.

Visited a couple cute shops on the pier and had lunch at Duke's.

HUCK FINN's FISHING EVENT

By surfsideseohb |

My two youngest children (13 and 19) and my two grandson's (5 and 8) got up early to get down to the Huntington Beach pier where they were holding the "Huck Finn's Fishing Derby. They provided poles for those who needed them, and one of the stores at the end of the pier provided each of them with a bag of (free) bait.
My son (uncle to my grandsons) showed them each and helped them put the bait on their fishing poles, and how to cast the line, etc. It was the first time my grandson's had ever been fishing.
It was a free event, which was great. They had a surfing competition going on at the same time, and we also saw the "Emergency Response Team" which is a group of young teens that are training to do search and rescue here in Huntington Beach.
It was a fun day for all and everyone down there was extremely nice.
We parked right there on Main Street, (which is right across the street from the pier.
It is "paid" parking, so you'll need to have change for the meters.
I hadn't realized that, however one of the businesses on Main street was kind enough to break my $10 bill to accomodate me with the change needed for the meters.
The weather was perfect, the waves were crashing, and it was an all around perfect day and event.
This was an event for families and children, and the pier itself welcomes everyone. There were joggers, elderly folks walking along the pier, there are places to eat and the store which carries drinks, water and other items.
My grandson's had a great time and I would recommend Huntington Beach pier for everyone to enjoy.
Just an added note, you are also able to view the Huntington Beach city pier at any given time via video camera by going online to thecityofhb.com and watching the video cams. It is live, day or night, so you can watch and listen to the waves crashing, and the people strolling along the pier and the going's on whenever you'd like.

Loved going here!

By Michelle S |

Huntington Beach is a very nice area. This is a very nice beach. The pier is clean and not too crowded. The shops are also very nice. The shopping area around the beach is plentiful with lots of options to eat. We parked a couple blocks away at a meter. We would have loved to have spent more time there, but we had other plans as well. We would love to go back and spend a full day there. Favorite beach/pier by far!

Beach for all

By Danny B |

A beach for everyone.
The area is great for every age group.

Beach is well taken care of.

Quick trip to beach to see Pacific Ocean

By smjreader |

Drove about 30 minutes to this beach so we could see, smell and hear the Pacific Ocean on a beautiful day! We saw people surfing, sunbathers, volleyball nets and preparations being made for a special event. We walked out onto the pier and just appreciated the view. The expanse of beach was a little too far for our niece who cannot walk in sand that far nor could her mother who was using a cane temporarily. We enjoyed the atmosphere at Huntington Beach and it was a lovely break from the busy feel of days at Disneyland. Parking fee was reasonable and easy to find.

Does not Disappoint

By grouchycritic |

Grabbed my camera and tripod for a sunset pic and was not disappointed. The daily $15 fee to park is okay if you're spending the day. Lots of beach to relax, unwind or toss a ball

Great Pier Sitting over Beach and Ocean

Bike Ride to the Huntington Beach Pier

By Necco649 |

My family and friends enjoyed a 20 mile bike ride from the Santa Ana River Bike Trail along the beach path to the Huntington Beach Pier. Many food stands along the strand, bike rental stores ,restrooms and interesting vendors to shop. There are many interesting things to do and see on the pier. A Kite shop, Bait and tackle shop and Ruby's Diner at the end of the Pier. The weather was Perrrrfect!!!!!!

Relaxing

By tdw295 |

Walked along the beach and on the pier. Great views. Lots of people but not overly busy. Definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful beach!

By Kyla |

We loved this beach! This was our second time in California and we have been to this beach both times! The pier is great, there are restaurants on the pier, as well as near by, and parking is very reasonable - unlike other areas! It is cool to see so many people out surfing!

On our trip across USA

By Stephen Foster |

Loved Huntington Beach, the pier is great for watching the surfers, good exercise and Ruby's Diner at the end of the pier. The area is very friendly, really is surf city with all teh clothes shops, board and wetsuits hire, and good restaurants. If you want a break from busy downtown LA then this is the place, must more cleaner, friendlier than the northern beaches such as Venice Beach.

Nice walk good views

By Brendan |

This pier is worth a stop for a walk out a few shops are close and a gift shop we arrived in the morning and got a heap of good photos from there enjoyed the stop

Typical!!

By Laurence D |

Beach and place typical of the US as seen on TV. The beach of surfers and flying deer. Don’t hesitate to drink a margarita at Zacks Food Patio!!

Bring a jacket

By NJLuv2Travel13 |

We enjoyed walking on the pier, but the wind and chilly temp made our visit short lived. I’d recommend visiting and walking the length of the pier, but only if you plan ahead for the wind.

Perfect spot to check out the sunset though!

A "must do"

By James P |

If visiting So. California, a walk down Main St., Huntington Beach, and out onto the pier is a must!

So California!

By Allison M |

This was a great stereotypical California experience. The pier is massive with a few little touristy shops on it. People were fishing off the pier, and we stopped to watch the surfers for a long time. The beach is beautiful to walk along, and there are lots of little shops and some restaurants nearby. We spent a while afternoon here.

Just Ok

By William B |

Meets most expectations. Parking can be problematic. Good for large groups and celebrations. Moderately priced.

A beautiful place to stand and look off into the ocean, you can watch the surfers sometimes or just enjoy the views, I’d say it’s worth the visit

Great place!

By PJ G |

It's a nice place to visit and a simple walk out over the water. We watched kites, surfers, fishermen, and parasailors. Families, couples and friends all seemed to be enjoying themselves. At the end is Ruby's, a great little diner. I would like to come back and spend more time.

Cute Pier to visit!

By MichelleByrne79 |

If you are in California, there are many beaches you should visit but we were recommended to visit Huntingdon as it was pretty close to where we were staying. It is so nice there and very relaxed! Full of surfers which is lovely to watch and the pier itself is nice to walk along as you can get some great pictures. Really cute place to visit and recommended for at least a couple of hours if you just want to walk around.

The HB pier is downtown in the restaurant/shopping area. There are parking lots at the base of the pier and others nearby. We walked down after lunch at Duke's and enjoyed the views and scenery. It was pretty busy but not crowded.

Iconic pier, must do on your bucket list

By Cathy H |

Great place, beautiful views, golden sand, surf, dolphins, iconic Ruby’s diner for a meal. So glad we stopped here for a look.
Allow 2-4 hours to enjoy, walk, swim and grab a bite at Ruby’s diner, try and dine inside downstairs in the iconic cafe section.
Beautiful place on the Californian coastline.

Beautiful Huntington Beach Pier

By LarsieB |

It was wonderful to drive to Huntington Beach and walk along the pier, and see the surrounding area, watch the surfers either side of the pier and watch the people fishing from the pier. Walking the pier was also a great opportunity for us to view the beach either side and take in the size of the wide open expanses of usable beach sand and swimmable water in this area of California. The Huntington Beach Pier is a beautiful pier along with the surrounding beach and ocean. This was a lovely way to spend some time during our vacation.

Enjoyed our Day here!

By WeAlwaysWAnder |

3 ladies in Anaheim for a conference and decided to go to the beach the day before we left. Rented a car and the drive was less than an hour. Great little beach town! Ample restaurants to pick from (we got coffee at 602 and burritos from Sanchos. Took everything down to the beach and put our feet in the sand, soaked up some sun, and had a great beach day. Parking was less than $10 for a couple hours and it was easy to find a spot on a Sunday in April. The only downside - public bathrooms were horrendous! Hold it! haha

Huntington beach - Totally Cool place to be..

By Premchand_N |

The Hotel we stayed is opposite to the beach and we have seen both sunrise and sunset on this beautiful beach from beach pier..lots of surfing activity is going on..beach is really clean and well maintained..sand is smooth..beautiful place to be..just sit and relax...definite visit when you are in LA...

Great place to catch your breath

By musicalsnake |

The HB Pier is a classic in the traditional sense of Southern California. Sure, there's shops and a restaurant at the end, but no one is in a hurry, and its a good place to linger. People fishing, kissing, watching the surfers, and no one looking at a screen. Everything loud or annoying is back on land, and that seems far away....

A walk on the pier

By FlipFlops4 |

Huntington Beach pier is a beautiful place for a walk, to see some shops! Eat at Ruby’s Diner! People fishinging! Beautiful day or night!
