2 of 15 Best Attractions in Woodstock

Although this is a seasonal attraction in the winter it's worth the wait. Beautiful and fun no matter how cold it gets. It was below zero the night we went but there was hot cocoa and some fires to warm up by. Ice slides, beautiful ice structures to explore and even sleigh rides if you wish. A great time.

The ice castles were cool no doubt. But from what the online pictures look like and what they make it sound like, it's pretty far off from the actual thing. They are built in a parking lot and once your inside it doesn't take long to get sick of it.

Tickets required very crowded but worth the visit. The size of these ice sculptures are impressive. Dress warm, when we went it was night time and 35 degrees but you’re surrounded by ice so it’s chilly. Leave the stroller behind it won’t work in the snowy slushy ground bring a plastic saucer with a rope and drag the little ones. Also a great gift shop.

We went here with our two children ages 9 and 4. The place was nice and it was especially beautiful lit up at night. There are areas with fires throughout to warm up. However, after an hour our 4 year old was over it. It was way to cold for him. They have a booth to buy hot chocolate and other stuff, but its pricey. You're better off getting a got chocolate at Dunkin Donuts down the street. We went at 4:00pm so we had time to see the ice castles in the day time and also at night lit up without having to stay for long. There are bathrooms outside of the park as well as a gift shop. I suggest bringing hand warmers and really warm gloves. When you crawl through the castles your hands start to feel frozen. I also suggest getting in line right away if you want to go down the ice slides. The lines are long and waiting in the cold is not fun at all. Overall, it was a nice experience.

Great visit to this fantasyland. Well done in every way. Get tickets in advance , online. You will need warm clothes and take pictures.

go sooner when open and not towards last few days open. We went day before last day. I know there's no control on weather but we had that warm spell and most was melted and mush...but the lights at night were nice and the mazes were okay. The slid looked fun but again it was melting and people were wet! Only stayed a hour 1/2 or so. You can only walk around a few times before it boars you. There is a little gift shop and hot drinks. You can buy your picture at the end. When you walk in they take your party picture if you want. The drive up is nice-depends where you come from. It's up there! Nice mountains. Do buy your tickets on line before and pick the time. again,-later in day is nice because they put color lights on. Won't go again for a few years. Once is fine!

Disappointing, but I had higher expectations based on prior reviews. That and I've visited the ice hotel in Quebec and faintly hoped that this experience would simulate part of that experience. It did not. The good news is that if you have younger kids in the 5 - 8 year old range and you like wasting money on them, then this is the venue for you. It's small and manageable, a cute slide (sleds stopped, people did not - made for amusing watching), small tubing hill, gobs of people walking around aimlessly looking for their kids not social-distancing. The 1/4 mile walk through the woods was nice even though I fell as it's dimly lit and I just couldn't see through the fog in my glasses. Lots of porta-pottys that appeared clean. Parking was a snap.

The entire experience is very cool. Colors and structures are amazing. Skip the sleigh ride. Grinding night but once inside the walls no wind, quite comfortable.

mid to late 20s couple...makes me feel like a 5 year old again, slipping sliding crawling through ice tunnels and down ice slides ...walk through this most phenomenal 1-1.5 hour experience. Not overly packed as ALL TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT SO QUICKLY. I couldn’t recommend this place more as a romantic night out before a nice dinner!

We visited the ice castles on a weeknight which was a great time to go. There were not many people there and the lights made for a beautiful scene and some great photos! Our group (4 young adults) enjoyed the slide several times as there was no line - it was more fun than it looks! Some spots were dripping a bit but that's to be expected towards the end of the season. It's a pretty spot - a cool place to stop if you're in the area!

A family group of 9 ranging in a age from 6 months to 51. W all had a good time. It was a little different than we expected but in a good way. Most everyone that was there was very friendly, with a couple of exceptions. The exceptions were all visitors to the attraction and inconsiderate of others around them, but you get that everywhere.
It was a little surprising they weren't open on the Sunday or Monday and I had bought my tickets in advance. Luckily our group had booked a hotel through Tuesday otherwise we would have totally missed it. I recommend getting your tickets in advance and wearing snow pants and snow boots because you are walking around in "man-made snow" and I was surprised at those trying to get around in sneakers. The slides were a lot of fun.

Night time Frozen Ice City in Color
Ice Tunnel Slide ~ Fire Rinks ~ Ice Sofa is Great for a place to take Photos
Dress Warm & Enjoy

First time coming to the Ice Castles and we were very impressed by the unique artistic design! I would suggest the best time to go would be at night as the lights within the ice walls are brilliant. I couldn’t imagine how plain it would be during daylight!

This place has a little bit of everything. They have slides for the kids (even saw a few adults try it), They have a shooting water fountain, and many hidden alcoves that are perfect for photos. Earlier in the day you will normally see more families and larger crowds, however there will always be crowds here. If you are looking for a more romantic setting go at sunset or after, it makes the light displays really pop and most of the families are starting to leave. This should go with out saying you should dress warm and wear appropriate shoes as everything is ice. If you go on a slightly warmer day be careful it makes the ice very slick to walk on. They even a picture site if you want to purchase a keepsake photo, but here you will definitely have plenty of opportunities to get you own photos.

My husband and I went for a nice 4:45pm check in and got to see it in both the day and the night. Once the sun went down, it was incredibly pretty with the lights. There was a little concession stand with a few treats (a little pricey, but really nice). Not too many people there and plenty of staff around. Was a nice way to spend an hour.

I am well into my senior years and viewed this adventure my daughter scheduled, to not be on the senior list of things to do. Is it unique? Absolutely. Different things shaped out of ice with different colors throughout. Is it cold? Absolutely - dress warm. Hundreds of people have pulverized the snow so you need above the ankle boots. You need to be careful walking. If your handicapped walking this is not the place for you. Couple ice slides for kids and young adults. My advice let the young people go and you stay home in front of fire with a cocktail.

My wife and I had a great time at the ice castle highly recommended Would not hesitate to go back again.

It was really well set up and it felt like the magic of Christmas in March! Staff was friendly, alcoholic hot chocolate was delicious, lights were beautiful, ice slide was SO MUCH FUN!

Took my grandson here last night and we were not disappointed. How they put this all together is a miracle! No words can describe it. All I know is that it starts with individual icicles.
Just dress WARM, with warm boots, socks and gloves. Go just after dusk for the best effect when it's not too cold. You won't be disappointed.
I'll be back.

Definitely worth the trip. Seeing it at night and then driving by it in daylight, I would say the better experience would be going at night, when it is lit up. The ice slide was fun, a little bit of a wait, but worth it. Fun event for pictures and atmosphere. Lots of families and couples there. Certainly worth it for your first time, but may not be something to go to multiple times.

Great family fun for young and old. Dress warm. Kids should have snow pants on. Hats and mittens too. Beautiful at night but very impressive during sunlight hours as well. Well worth the trip.

Ice Castles is one of a kind experience. You walk through this castle made of ice with different colors shining through the ice, and the music is so soothing and fits the atmosphere perfectly. You can go down an ice slide and snow tube down an ice slide too. Then there is a walkway where all colorful light s shine through the snow and lights hanging from the trees. Also ice sculptures with the lights on them. A magical experience. The kids will love it, and so do adults.

This was a unique and cool (pun intended) activity. Two adults - no kids - and we enjoyed walking around, taking pictures, sledding. I giving 4 vs 5 stars because it was less than I expected. Maybe I looked at too many pictures before going? They are gorgeous and the place looks huge. It isn’t. Again, not complaining - simply stating that it was less than I’d imagined. The walking path was nice. I loved the lights. As others have said though, a portion of the trail was dark.
Dress warmly. Coat, ski pants, boots and gloves. We were here for a couple hours.

Awesome colors and lights. We went there this past weekend and it was well worth it. The ice castles were immense and so colorful. The woods had a trail that you walk through and all of the trees either had lights on them or around them. Took us just over an hour to go through. We would have taken longer, but at -3 degrees, we were getting cold.. Well worth the price and trip there, We also stayed overnight at a motel.

Ok for one time. Facilities (like porta potty, food...) could have been better for such a multi-week attraction. Kids liked the ice slides. The queue for snow tubing was not well handled.

Ice was beautiful along with ride in a sled Bitter cold dress prepared Hat and cold weather boots, long winter underwear and snowpants

I have always seen ice castles on tv from other countries and when we heard that one was built in New Hampshire we added to our Salem trip! They only take so many people in each night sooo get tickets ahead of time (there really isn’t s stand by— people got denied if they didn’t have pre purchased tickets)!
Once you get in the arches and construction of the ice was awe inspiring— there was a huge colorful slide for 42” and taller and a smaller one for kids. Tunnels, pathways, concession stand, warming area, ice chair, fire and ice show and even a cool water fountain ⛲️! Definitely would do again kids would love it!!!

Great venue for families, especially fun for children. Adults should definitely book for the evening as it is as it’s best then. Make sure you try one of the slides no matter how old you are.

Very cool place, glad we went. Would I make it an annual trip, proabbly not. The attractions is pretty small, can see everything in about 30 mins.

Absolutely Beautiful, well worth the three hour drive.Perfect temperture, comfortable weather, great timing Helpful employees

This was a very enjoyable event, we had tickets for 7:30 PM, the weather was reasonble nice, and the display was excellent. We did spend over 2 hours, taking lots and lots of pictures. Our only issue was with the initial parking individual, who clearly did not want to be there. We arrived at 6:45 for our visit, after driving for 2-1/2 hours to get there. This individual was swing his light stick and seemed to think he was the owner. He asked when our time was and we told him 7:30, he said "we have rules and no one can enter the property more than 30 minutes from what the tickets show. We needed to turn around on this narrow driveway, and go away". So, where did he expect us to go? He needed to take some people skills badly. Outside of this, we enjoyed our visit. A word of caution about this display, it is subject to shutting down on short notice due to warmer weather, so keep in mind if you have hotel reservation and the weather is heading towards the warmer temperatures.

Small mound of ice, it can fit in your small backyard. Thought I was going to see acres of castles that are 30ft.-50ft. tall which is not the case at all. It takes about 10 minutes to walk through and that's all. They don't really go by your ticket time. You can go an hour early or an hour late. Just a few walk-through areas. Mostly everyone goes to get their photos taken in their "Fozen" movie Elsa dress. The parking is dirt and mud with ruts and divots so bring your SUV. Not worth going there though. Skip this venue and spend your money somewhere else. Extremely slippery, most visitor will fall once or twice. Small hayride which is another $20 per person. Porta potties are the bathrooms. There is a small sledding area with a 30-minute wait. No place to go inside to warm up and eat. Just an outdoor hot chocalote stand.

My husband and I recently went to the Ice Castles in NH and were impressed with the shape and effort it took to create. I did not know that there are other of these Ice Castles in the United States. First of all, you have to dress warm since you are outside, next to ice and it is winter in New England!! This is appropriate for children but bring a sled and not a stroller, dress them very warm and enjoy the ice slide (if they are tall enough). It doesn't take a long time to cover the area - probably 30 minutes - if you don't have kids and longer if they enjoy the slide. There is a small concession stand for warm drinks and of course, the town of Lincoln is an interesting place to walk around.

We went at night it is lit up so pretty. It is family or couple friendly. There are places to climb through and slide through for adults and children. They have a snack shop with goodies to buy. They also have little fire pits to warm your hands. They have a store also to buy souvenirs.

We visited with a 6 yr old and a 16 month old and the grandparents and we could spend a good 2 hrs there. It offers plenty of opportunity for pictures so make sure to take along a good camera (ph or otherwise). Visit the Facebook page and see if the coupon can be applied so you can save a few $ during the booking. There are some other attractions close to railroad and old trains all around so stay on for more pics. The walk out through the souvenir shop should help you pick one or two keepsakes. A professional shoot is also available at the entrance. The coffee shop inside the castles had good cinnamon buns and cookies ; hot cocoa - hmm not so much, quite watery! The castles have a few slides for kids and a larger one for adults. You can take a pull- along sledge and seat your kids there to drag them around. The larger slide is just the perfect distance and the right bend. Anything more would have been claustrophobic but this was perfect. Pack layers even on a day that’s very manageable in the city or a town couple hours away coz it got colder and wind chill higher as we approached the castle. A nice winter getaway / day trip!

Love the slide and the whole experience. Such a great thing to do with friends. Great photo opportunity.

Have been in years past and it is beautiful! Was looking forward to bringing my nieces for their first time. Booked a weekend getaway with a house rental for mid January based on the fact that they claim to open late December or early January. Bought 8 presale tickets at a cost of $134. Ice Castle not yet open during that weekend. Emailed them about it; refusing a refund. Suggesting to change the date (we live out of state with a 3+ hour drive) or give our tickets away!!! Said that tickets are only refundable due to certain circumstances. I would think the fact they are not open when they claim they would be would be an exception. 😡

Fun visit for all ages. Especially pretty lit up at night and with snow on the grpundPlan on a good hour. Dress warm boots and gloves recommended.

This entire event was exactly as described. Very enjoyable for all ages. Most importantly wear proper shoes for slippery snowcover. My suggestion is to try to reserve 4pm ticket and stay past sundown. This way you can get get pictures in both daylight and colored lights in the ice. Weekends are busy and tickets sellout fast. This company has events in several states so you can see what is best for you . Something different and fun.

Be sure to buy your tickets before you go. My husband brought yaks tracks to help him walk. I had good boots and snow pants and layers and was actually hot and had to take off a few layers. The parking is a little close as people don’t pull all the way into a spot, but if you tell attendant the spot it too tight and you need a larger one they will let you find it. The staff is nice. The guy taking photos for you at the alcove is very nice, give him a couple of bucks for a coffee, we did and he seemed surprised. It’s very pretty and great photo opportunities. I even slid down the little slide. Line was long for the large slide but looked like it was moving quickly.

This attraction was a fun overall experience. The cost of admission was good considering that there isn't a strict time limit on the visit and it gives you access to the Castles, Ice Slides, tubing hill, and Mystical Forest path which is full of ice sculptures.

We heard about the Ice Castles and immediately booked tickets and a road trip to New Hampshire for 2 weeks later. The night before we were set out to take our rental car on the road for the 5+hour drive I got an email from Ice Castles notifying us that our 4:30 reservation will have to be moved due to weather. I understand that the attraction is completely weather dependent but That doesn’t mean the situation isn’t any less frustrating. I filled out the form and sent an email as soon as I got the email and called multiple times the next day. When I finally got through to someone they were able to change my reservation to 8:30pm for the same day. I was disappointed since I was hoping to see the Ice castles in daylight and darkness. Our only option now was darkness. When we finally got to the castles, It was crowded (probably because they pushed everyone back into the same time slots). The structures themselves were still beautiful and impressive just mich smaller than I’ve anticipated. There was a small fire show with some fire dancers that were cool but, not the most intriguing(We left half way through bc we didn’t feel the need to stay). Kids will enjoy it. There are also slides that I believe kids would enjoy. If you do decide to go definitely wear snow boots and gloves. You will regret it if you don’t. I also recommend going to see them towards the beginning of the run. I’m sure the Castles were better when they were new.

You’ll love this probably because you’ve dreamed of making this. nb: 1. This is their first year in this location as they’ve moved. 2. We drove 2+ hours to see this and some reviews were not great. 3. We drove this distance and it’s really cold with a snowstorm starting offering to drop 10-15” on us. Take me someplace warm. There are a lot of variables. First, this is not an ice hotel; there is no roof. It also is not a labyrinth. Walls of ice are created by freezing water in various location creating some grottoes within the variously placed walls. Per reviews, some enjoy the sunset and illuminated walls by night. If you enjoy amusement parks, there’s a good chance you might like this. If you do not, spare yourself and go to an interesting historical site or a museum. I still might consider an ice hotel but I’ll leave the Ice Castles to the Elsas of this world. I know you’re out there.

We enjoyed it. We spent 2 hours in Ice Castles and took a lot of pics. We loved the slide it was fun, amazing and fast!!! When we were there the snow falling and good atmosphere.

Went to the ice castles last winter. Brought my teenagers and they had a good time but after an hour they were done. It’s a small area and meant more for small children. Dress warm and dress to get wet lots of crawling in the snow with some small slides to go down on.

Beautiful night in the White Mountains at Ice Castles. The falling snow made it even better with the glowing ice formations. Second time here and we'll never get tired of it.
Get your tickets early as they sell out quickly. And dress warm!

We traveled from Florida to experience Ice Castles, New Hampshire as a birthday gift to our 13 year old Florida born granddaughter who has, in her words, “always wanted to visit an Ice Castle. Wonderful experience, great value for the admission price. We loved the hot chocolate break and tubing down the hill and the sleigh ride and the ice slides and……and… everything about the experience. As Floridians, we were not adequately dressed for “feels like 9 degrees” weather but managed to stay 2 1/2 hours before Grandpa said times up. Would love to go back.

Def enjoyed and recommend but is a touch pricey for what you getting. Watch weather and dates and get tickets early!

This place is beautiful at night!!! I would recommend a sled to pull around little ones in. Some of the snow is hard for little ones to walk through. We like to bring friends to see it when they are visiting!!! 😃

What a magical place! Very creative with such positive energy! Make sure to wear warm clothes, gloves so you can enjoy all of it!

A winter paradise! Go in the evening, if you can, to get the full icy experience. No negatives from us. Expect lots of people ... families, kids! Our little ones couldn't get enough!!

I visited the ice castles a couple years prior to this trip and was pleasantly surprised with how much it has grown. The addition of more slides and the walking trail were fabulous. My family of 5 had a great time.
While there was COVID / social distancing signage it appeared as more of a suggestion as most families did not give 6 feet while in lines for slides or on the walking trail and unfortunately I did not see any staff managing the crowds.
All in all a great time!

We had a beautiful evening here. A walk through the enchanted forest was worth it alone! We went on a holiday weekend so it was a little crowded. However, the employees were very nice but firm about everyone maintaining social distance and wearing a mask. A great outdoor activity!

As part of a bus tour, our group stopped for a two hour afternoon visit. The glacier blue coloring is stunning and reflects the natural water used to create the display. We enjoyed tubbing but there are ice slides and horse sleigh rides too. Creative food and drinks options are available too. Be sure to go on the short wood trail to discover sculptures, light displays and hidden treats

We went to see the ice castles and they were pretty amazing. We went the extra mile and enjoyed a horse drawn sleigh ride through the woods. It was really cool to see the size of this ice castle and the work that goes into it. We had a great night walking through.

If you have a 2 year old or less maybe consider using a baby carrier. Its not stroller friendly. The snow is very deep at times and hard to walk in. In my opinion it was very overpriced and way too many people there making it hard to enjoy.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation. I hadn’t been to the White Mountains since I was a kid and thought this Would be a great place to take the family for a quick long weekend trip. We went on President’s Day...with reservations for 4pm. I did this so we could see the castles on both the light and the dark when they are illuminated. My kids are 9 and 11 and they really enjoyed exploring the ice tunnels and sliding the slides. Parents of younger children understandably seemed a little anxious because kids would climb in the small tunnels and sometimes take a little while to come out. With our older kids, it was much less stressful. There were fire pits and a hot cocoa stand (w yummy warm cinnamon buns) to help you warm up, but I highly recommend bringing very warm clothes, boots, snow pants and hand warmers as it gets COLD! The hard part is that you want to take tons of photos because it is beautiful but if you are counting on your phone, it will most likely lose battery quickly due to the extreme cold. It would be wise to bring a camera in addition to your phone if you want great pics. The place is small but stunning. It feels like you are in a fairytale when walking through. It is definitely something you want to see.

We visited the Ice Castles the last weekend of February. We brought our two young boys and chose a time so we could view both during the daylight and at night.
The castles themselves are beautiful and my boys had fun exploring and playing in the tunnels and small slides. They unfortunately were unable to enjoy the larger slide. One child was too small and the line was too long for my other son to wait while we occupied the little guy.
I only had one complaint and that is in regards to the sleigh ride. We purchased our admission tickets online and at check in was not informed of any other ticketed experiences. So when we saw a sign for the sleigh ride we assumed it was included in our admission already. We were disappointed when we approach the sleigh that we needed to purchase additional tickets. After asking a worker about the price, we were told $15 per adult nevermind the kids we chose to skip it since it was already pricey to visit. It was a little disappointing to us all that there was such a high additional charge and that it wasn't communicated clearly by employees or signage so we could manage expectations for our kids better.
Overall we will visit again but probably not a yearly trip for us.

We had a wonderful time exploring the ice castle and the many paths between ice walls. The slide was awesome and there were lots of photo ops! A must see!!

Nice place to visit. Enjoyed the Woodstock Inn for beer and food more. I would like to know how the shapes are made

Beautiful ice castles! Fun slides - be careful the little kids one is slick - tweeked my shoulder! Skip the hot chocolate - tasted odd! The cinnamon roll though - go for that!

Drove here from Boston and spent 30 min inside. There’s some kid activities (slides, passage ways, etc.), but it’s really more of a one-time experience and definitely geared towards families with kids.
It wasn’t as crowded inside as I expected based on the line at 12 on a Saturday, but you still have to wait for people to move to take pics.
There is a concession stand with cookies,
pretzels, cinnamon rolls. If you have kids, go out of the castle and to the large slide located near the concession stand first. There was a pretty decent line just 15 min after opening.
They encourage sleds for kids, but this is super obnoxious. If your child can’t walk, don’t bring them or expect to carry them.

Very unique and have never seen anything else like it. The concessions were a bit overpriced. $4.50 for a Pillsbury cinnamon roll?
And $4 for some Swiss Miss hot chocolate?

It was worth the trip but dress warm because you are surrounded by ice. The workers were very informative about how the castle was built.

The ice castles are really incredible, especially at night when they are lit up! The slide was fun too! I highly recommend buying tickets online in advance, especially on the weekends. However, I would not recommend driving far to come here just for the ice castles. If you already in town or make a weekend out of it then it is worth it, but as a stand alone definitely not. It only takes about an hour to look around and see everything. Also very crowded on the weekend filled with people taking selfies around every corner getting in the way. Overall thought it was worth doing once. Probably would not go back though. It was honestly exactly what I expected!

1st time visit to this attraction after hearing lots about it. It was very pretty. Amazing to be surrounded by all the ice! Glad I went but would probably not do again. For me it was worth seeing once.

visited here this past weekend with my wife. if you've never been here, you gotta see it to believe it. absolutely amazing in what these artists created from their minds to their hands. the placing of all the back lighting before the ice is formed and in place is a feat in itself. yes there are castles, bridges, tunnels. walk throughs and a slide. stood inline for 30 minutes and the slide was over in ten seconds. wish it was longer. lot of fun and a huge attraction. there for an hour or so. dress warm cause its freezing. good time!

We had such a great time! We went at 4-430 arrival time and got to see during the day and at night so it was beautiful. Fun for the whole family, even our 5 month old loved the music and lights.

A unique and special experience for all. This attraction continually evolves and offers more visual impact each year. Important to book in advance otherwise disappointment for many.

This was on my bucket list. I did a 6 hour road trip. I stayed 2 nights and had a wonderful time.
DAY vs NIGHT - During the day and nighttime are two different experiences. I recommend both times. I preferred the during the day viewing of the ice castles. The during the day pictures came out so beautiful. I posted pictures on here so you can see below.
TIME AND TICKET INFORMATION - I went February 19th Monday that day was President’s Day so the time options were for all day. Non-holidays the castles open at 4:30pm. They are closed on Tuesdays. During the day the crowd was much less then when we waited out till the lights came on as the sun went down.
Our time slot was 3-330pm and we got there at 330pm. Time slots are every half hour. We ended up leaving at 730pm. 3.5 hours is way too much. You can go for an hour or 2. It was a warm day and so we hung out. Took many pictures and videos of the ice castle. We really got our money’s worth and enjoyed the whole experience. If you want to do both in one day go in for the time slot 4:30pm time slot.
Ticket prices- Adult $16.95 and Children $13.95 ages 4 to 11 yrs old.
BATHROOMS - There are use of bathrooms once you enter. I was confused because once you leave you can not reenter back which is true. But in the gift shop there are a men and women bathroom. You leave the ice castles and less then 1 minute walk from the castles is the indoor gift shop and bathrooms you can use and go back to the castles which I did. If you do leave out the door of the gift shop you can not reenter. There are porta potties on side of parking lot.
GIFT SHOP - T-shirt’s, magnets, postcards, stickers. I wanted the snow globe that had the ice castle inside it. They were sold out.
When you come in you take a picture and they give you a ticket number and on way out you can view it inside the gift shop. The price is $30. I really wish the price would be less. I would of purchased it. Admission is less then the picture. No one while I was there was purchasing it. I also liked my pictures better that I took by walking around then the professional one. I would of bought it for $15.
FOOD- There are the most delicious homemade cinnamon buns and yummy hot chocolate which I had. They also had homemade chocolate chip cookies and a bag of pretzels and water for purchase. I brought a bottle of water in my bag with me to stay hydrated.
SLIDE - The slide had very long lines but they moved fast. All ages from young kids (as long as they where tall enough to go on there is a height requirement) to older adults in there late 70’s.
I went when the sun went down in night time. It is a very short fun slide. Do not be scared definitely try it. You sit on a thin mat so your clothes do not touch the ice.
HOTELS NEAR - 2 minute drive is Riverwalk Resort Loon Mountain. Brand new hotel not even 2 years old. We stayed there. Nice clean and new. There were a few other places to stay driving the opposite direction away from the castles towards loon mountain. I am very happy we stayed so close to the castles.
THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA -
1. Loon Mountain for skiing snowboarding and snow tubing. They also have zip lining and a outdoor wall climb.
2. Snowmobiling
3. Movie theater
4. Shopping
5. Dining - Fast food McDonald’s and Subway), bars, restaurants
ADDTIONAL TIPS - Dress warm. When sun goes down it gets colder even though it was a nice day when we went. Do not wear sneakers! You are walking on ice. I wore snow winter boots and some parts were slippery but staff did excellent job keeping the pathways good and safe.

Went to the Ice Castles the other night and it was quite the spectacle for the whole family. The kids (3, 2) loved everything about the place including the slide. My son must’ve went down the slide for a good 20 straight minutes. Bonus is that both kids got in FREE. I think it’s 4 and under. We brought small sleds to trek the kids around when they got tired and those worked out perfectly. Also made it so we didn’t have to carry the kids the whole time. Saw a lot of families carrying little ones all around and through the castles. Looked miserable. The castles are really remarkable and we went at 4 so we got to see them in the light and dark. I suggest doing the same and watching the transformation firsthand. Terrific spot. Go early, bring pull sleds for the very little ones and make sure to bundle up. Oh yeah and buy tickets beforehand and you’ll save money and avoid waiting in long lines.

Who knew something like this would be so popular. It took us about a week to get a couple slots to head on up and enjoy this wonderful experience. Note upfront there within a half an hour you could see all of this. We planned a few additional stops parentheses one to a speakeasy parentheses to make this a full afternoon evening adventure. What do down here is truly beautiful at night time they have the ice castle lit up they've got a few cool lit slides for kids and even adults they have a lighted winter walk as well worth the strides along with horse drawn sleigh ride through yet another Illuminated woods. The night we went was incredibly cold I believe it was 1°. They do have at least one warming fire to get your body temperature back up along with a snack shack to her Coco etc. Everybody was super friendly and we would highly recommend this experience

We have been every year that it has been in NH. We love it. There always new surprises and features. A favorite for the kids. It is a must see.

We went on a perfect evening, low 20's no wind, light snow falling. It was a nice way to spend an hour or so. Likely more fun when you bring the kids or grandchildren. The staff was very friendly, and the place seemed well organized. Only drawback is that it takes forever to get there from anywhere.

I’m giving this a low review, because I think people need to be very careful when choosing to buy tickets to the ice castles.
I was waiting on my computer at 6:00pm the night they opened ticket sales. I got the tickets I wanted. Yay! Spent $172.00 for the evening of 1/29. All was good until the forecast was calling for a possible historic winter snow storm. I started emailing the ice castles 3 days before asking if they could move my tickets to another Saturday, as I paid the weekend price. They finally got back to me and said to choose another day cause the weekend days I chose were sold out. The problem here is that all the weekends are sold out. So therefore I’m really out my $172. I’m definitely not going to risk my family’s life to attend the ice castles. It’s BEYOND me why they wouldn’t cancel the evening with a blizzard coming. I’m sure they don’t want to lose money, but what about all the people that won’t be able to make it due to this weather we’re getting (you know lots aren’t going). A credit next year would be better than being out this money. The Ice Castle committee that’s running this event are truly heartless and greedy. I’m not impressed and very disappointed. The kids are even more disappointed.

4hr ride from ct and we loved it. We stopped early in the day and viewed from the parking lot to see the natural blue colors. Then returned at our appointed time of 4:30 and were very happy. They did a good job!!!!!

Amazing to see these man-made ice castles! A very cool spot to visit if you are in NH. It's a good for any age, but I noticed it was especially fun for children and families. There were Disney characters there you could take photos with (including Elsa and Olaf!) They also have ice slides you can go down. It wasn't a long visit, but was worth the stop!

Great place to see some really cool ice sculptures and walk around. DRESS WARM!!! Hot chocolate was good but very small cup for the price.

As suggested, we arrived between 4:30-5pm to see the Ice Castles in daylight and at night. I think the colored lights started coming on just after 5pm and there was a pretty sunset in the background. By 5:30, we were ready to leave, but we didn't wait in line for the slide. It did look very fun and they provided little pieces of material to sit on.
Friday night was expectedly crowded, but very manageable. Parking was easy with lots of attendants directing us to spaces. I purchased tickets online and we only waited a couple of minutes to show our passes and sign the waivers. I would definitely recommend hand warmers and warm socks and boots. The icicles are quite beautiful.

I did not get to experience all of ice castles due to bad weather, but what we did see was absolutley beautiful and so unique!!! I've not seen anything like it anywhere. The price of the ticket $27 was well worth the beauty!
I can't wait to return for the full experience! Make plans to get tickets early as the weekends seem to sell out quickly!

Visited with friends. Very organized, pretty with lighting. It is something different to go to with family and friends. The young children loved it

This is one of those things that once you’ve done it, you’ve done it. We bought the tickets for the sleigh ride and general admission to the ice castle. All together it was a bit pricey. But at the same time, if we hadn’t done the sleigh ride and just did the ice castle it would have been a big disappointment to drive up there for only a half hour of entertainment. If the sleigh ride was already included then it would be a great deal. I really enjoyed the sleigh ride in and out of the woods around the ice castle. The driver was very friendly and knowledgeable.
Exploring the castle was a fun but a bit underwhelming. I pictured it being bigger. Thinking about the work that went into making it though just seems amazing. There are plenty of photo opportunities throughout and even a slide at the end we of course had to go down. If you haven’t been, definitely go but maybe with lower expectations.

Awesome place to visit if u are near Lincoln NH with family and children.
Make sure u arrive on time and have tickets handy, dress warm and wear boots, bring extra clothes to change if you come with your kids and extra shoes too, all the walking is done on the carved ice.
Great spots to get your family pictures for Christmas.

Decided to make the trip last minute. We purchased tickets online before we went to make sure that we had them because we were traveling over 4 hours. The castles are awesome to see at night. My recommendation would be make sure and dress warm, wear boots and snow pants. The have a few activities to do while there. It is absolutely worth the trip to see how cool they are!

This place is so unique. We had to do it. It was beautiful and my bigger kid loved the slides. Not so much for the younger kids but definitely worth the experience.

Great/fun place to visit with kids young and teenagers. You won’t need more than two hours for sure. Dress warm and you will enjoy. The sled had a huge line and moves slow. The kids under 42 inch can’t go and it’s a single ride so can’t take them with you glad we asked before waiting in line. Keep your kids next to you at all times so easy to get separated and a few families did. FYI. The parking lot is all mud.

great place to visit at night or day. great lights and the staff is very nice and answer every question really nice.

Beautiful! As expected very cold - dress for it! Kids loved it. Sleigh ride is pretty but really pricey for the short ride you get.

We enjoyed our visit to the Ice Castles - it was beautiful and we were in awe! Our only disappointments centered around us not being able to go to the gift shop and get warmed up and then being able to re-enter the Ice Castles. We were very cold and would have appreciated to be allowed to warm up. The lines for the ice-slide were terrible, so we passed on that. They don't have coffee or hot tea at the concession, only hot chocolate, so diabetics have no options, which is not ok in my opinion. If they won't let us go warm up in the gift shop, as least sell a range of hot beverages. They have room for improvement on the service side, but the technical work of the lighting and ice castle creation is TOP NOTCH! Regardless of our concerns, we thought it was worth attending, however we are unsure if we will return based on their current service practices.

It was cold when we went (obvious, I guess). The lights and ice sculptures were pretty. We probably spent almost an hour.

We were staying in Jackson, NH about 40 minutes from Ice Castles and the forecast for the day we had tickets was 5-11 inches of snow. We did not have the 24 hour advance period to switch our tickets so we unfortunately had to let them lapse. We asked several guests and staff at the inn where we were staying if it was safe to go but "all of them" said no. We did pass by on our way to Boston the next morning. They received about 11 inches of snow the day before and when we went to drive up to get a look at least of the outside, the plow guy was already telling someone else to get out of the way. Somehow we found the back entrance and were able to get the picture of the top of it below. I am not sure I will drive 4-5 hours to visit (seemed small for something like that), but if I find myself in the area again would love to see it from the inside!

Beautiful! Very family friendly. Definitely go at night to see the ice change color. Loved the ice slide.

Wasn’t sure about going when I saw these bad reviews, then a local told us it’s a must do! So we went for it, but all these bad reviews are true. The only reason I’m giving this a good review is because of the experience. The castles, forest and sleigh ride were all magical!
Now that being said the costumer service part of this business needs a overhaul. We were scheduled to go on a Friday but when we pulled in there was a sign saying closed and no lights on. I sent an email questioning what happened then later got a text message that they were closed due to weather. We were able to reschedule for the next day.
It was definitely an experience that I’m glad we experienced BUT it was a pain in the butt to book.
Be wary of this company, you can do everything online or go to the front and buy tickets if they aren’t busy. If you are looking to contact someone here, it’s utterly impossible. They don’t have a phone number and don’t respond to emails.

I was lured into going by the photos on the website. Looks to be majestic, awe-inspiring, magical. In reality, it is small, crowded, and messy. This place is marketed as an amazing photo opp and that is the main activity. You can hardly walk around the “castle” because everyone is posing for photos or shouting at their child to smile.
The light walk through the trees was surprisingly lovely but that took about five minutes.
I appreciate what they are trying to do with ice artistry but they need to limit the crowd size to allow guests to fully enjoy it. Don’t go out of your way for this overpriced experience.
Warning: the parking lot is a rutted, muddy disaster - if you must go, take a 4 wheel drive vehicle.

Perfect Friday night adventure. The ice castles are amazing. My son loved the ice slide. It wasn’t too crowed until we were leaving around 8:30. The only complaint, the portable bathrooms were filthy.

The ice castles were beautiful, but there should be a warning to be sure to wear boots or shoes with treads. I just wore sneakers and I was slipping.

went to the ice castles in New Hampshire for the First Time. and I absolutely LOVED it. and I cant wait to buy tickets to bring my grandkids next year. I was selfish this year and went alone. and was amazed.. Beautiful work

Amazing experience! Go you won’t regret it and do the sleigh ride, it’s magical! We went Presidents week 2024, it was sold out but didn’t feel crowded. Dress warm.

... for a UK visitor anyway. The time to go is just before it gets dark. Have a quick look round while it's still light, then enjoy the lovely colour effects as the sky turns dark blue.

Great experience with my 11 and 15 year old. We bought tickets for 5pm which is great because we saw a bit in the light but it’s even more fun with the Lights. Def stand in line for the slide - pretty fun (sign says min height of 42 inches) there’s a smaller slide for kids under 10ish as well which my 11 year old enjoyed. There’s a cool bench made of ice- we didn’t do though because of line. There is a small concession stand with hot choc, cookies, cinnamon rolls (yum!) and pretzels. They have port-o-potties which were ok but dont use if you can avoid. Parking is free but don’t arrive more than 30 mins before your entry time as they won’t let you park and you can’t get your entry anyway.
It’s really pretty and cool when you think about the work that goes into it. Not sure we would need to go again. Both my kids thought it was really cool and fun and something fun and different. We stayed for about 90 min in total. There is also a fire show later around 7:15 but we didn’t stay.

Excellent, Highly Recommended . We Chose a 4 PM time So We Would be there For Both Day & Night Viewing. As The Darker It Gets The More You See the Glow of the LED Lights. They Had Two Slides one For Children & One For Both . There Were Fountains, Tunnels, 2 Fire Pits For Warming Hands . They Also Had A Snack Shack With Hot Cocoa, Pretzels, Cookies etc. They Take your Pic As You Go IN & You Can Buy It On Way Out In The Gift Shop They have. My Only Complaint Was The Picture Seemed A Bit Steep For $30 For A 5x7. I Have Paid Less For One At Disney & Other Places But they Were A Package with 8x10 and other smaller prints.
It Was A Bit Cold But The Fire Pits Kept My hands Nice & Toasty. Just Cold Toes, Which You Can't help When You Are Standing & Walking On Ice & Snow. Really A Spot Not To Be Missed & Different Every year. Tix are $19 Add The Photo To That & If you Are Thirsty Or Hungry , Or You Bring Your Kids. Prepare for an expensive day but so worth it.

We spent our Valentine’s Day night here and loved the experience. It was so cold (-3), but once on the castle it wasn’t too bad. My favorite part was the walk through the Mystic Forest.

I pre-bought 2 tickets as a Christmas gift for my son and his girlfriend. They tried booking their visit on several occasions, but were told each time that they were completely sold out. The last time they called, they were told that the Ice Castles was closing early for the season due to COVID-19 restrictions. I emailed customer service to ask for a refund and was told that the tickets were non-refundable and that, in fact, they closed due to warmer weather. They flat out refused to refund my $53, even though we made every attempt to book a time to visit.

Don’t get me wrong they are beautiful but I feel like the location in the Hobo parking lot was more impressive. Yes this spot is more visually appealing and the may have a sledding area, horse drawn carriages, trail but the castle/walk through part is really small here compared to what they’ve done before. The fountain on the outside (right when you enter) is the most impressive. The nature walk they have set up was nice but during the day was a complete disappointment, it was cloudy and yet they didn’t turn the lights on?! I mean you pay all that money and they can’t even turn the lights on during the day even if they a less vibrant?! If you are going to go try to get a night time ticket. We went for a 1.3 mi hike to a real frozen waterfall and THAT was awe inspiring, this was okay.

Though a bit pricey, Ice Castles was a pretty cool site. The kids had fun and the adults enjoyed the ice slide almost as much as the kids. Best to go at night after sunset and mid season when they have campfires in the center.

This was so awesome. Worth the 5 hour drive in a snowstorm! The roads to get there are long, dark, country roads. It wasn’t an easy drive in the snow. There is NOTHING else to do in the area within 90 miles. Lol. (We went to WalMart to kill time.). DRESS WARM! Snow boots, snow pants, etc will not be over kill. Gloves are a must because you’ll be touching walls, crawling on your knees and hands through tunnels (these can be avoided if you’re not a crawler) and your hands will be out a lot if you’re taking pictures. Parking was great. Lines were almost non existent because they stagger the ticket times. It was a magical experience. They do such a great job on it and God Bless the people working outside there in the freezing cold for hours. They were so friendly, willing to take pics with our phone and enthusiastic about sharing how the castles are constructed. It took us about 90 to leisurely see everything. We went on slides, went to the upper level and explored where we could. There were a few fire pits which were awesome. We went at 10pm because that was the only time we could get tix for (4 days in advance). We never felt rushed at all. I have to believe this place is way better in the dark than in the day. The “castles” are lit beautifully inside so darkness wasn’t an issue. Be prepared to walk on uneven snow packed trails and floors. No strollers, walkers wheelchairs- I think that would be really tough even if they allowed them (not sure). Can’t wait to bring our family back!

We went because so many people have raved about this place. We were expecting castles - as in multiple. This was one big castle, so we were let down at that. There was a neat tunnel slide for people to use that was rainbow colored, the line was too long for us to use. The castle was cool, just disappointing that it was one castle. There was a sleigh ride that cost extra as well, that we chose not to do because it was almost as much as the tickets to get in, and watching the ride it was short.

We were looking forward to our visit, heard there was a power outage, then learned that it was over - so we didn’t cancel our reservation at the Woodstock Inn. And now we’ve learned that the outage will last until Friday (today is Tuesday).
The castle outfit obviously has a problem not merely with power but also with communications. I’m sure we’ll get a refund from the Ice Castle, but we’re out the money for our accommodations, gas, and meals. Caveat emptor!

It is truly a magical place! We were fortunate to have the snow falling and once you enter the castle, you got a magical feeling with the music and lighting. We felt like we were in the middle of a Disney Movie! There are ice slides for everyone to enjoy, you can go through the castles tunnels and even warm up at one of the outdoor fire pits. Everything is made out of ice..including the tables to sip Hot Cocoa at! Great place for all ages-even the teenagers enjoyed themselves!!!

What a waste of time and money. Nothing to do in there but wait in a half hour line to slide for 3 seconds. Total money grab. I am convinced that many of these good reviews are written by the people involved in selling this thing. Save your money and time.

My wife found this place and so we picked a good night to go- no snow during the day, cold but not bitterly so (although we also did the sleigh ride which was a bit chillier). It was sold out but did not seem overly crowded. We opted to come at night after a family friend went during the day and enjoyed it.
We started out with the sleigh ride, with the sleigh being pulled by "Ben" and "Jerry". It was nice, but the only decorations along the way were the strings of lights and one heart-design in lights- if they could put some lit ice structures / carvings along the way it would make it so much better. About a 20 minute at $15 per person- maybe overpriced. They did have a limited number of blankets which came in handy. The guide/driver (can't remember her name) was informative and fun; I was very glad to go back to get pictures of the horses and leave a tip.
Just as you enter the castle itself there is the obligatory photo shoot. Once you go inside, it is definitely high on my "neat" scale. It is impressive enough to see large ice sculptures, but this castle is, in effect, a giant sculpture made by growing ice over the period of weeks and then carving / forming it in the desired shapes. Definitely stunning visually, kids will enjoy the narrow passages and small slides to go down. There is also a 100 foot slide through an ice tunnel- they are tandem so you can race (and scream) to the bottom. There was a long line for it, however, so it was an easy choice for us "old fogies" to skip.
There was a concession stand we did not visit. Dancing waters fountain was entertaining, and it was easy to have someone else visiting take pictures in exchange for taking their pictures. You have to exit through the gift shop (surprise), where you can see your pictures taken at the entrance. They are overpriced but in our case they were very clear.
Overall- we would rate this on the order of the "Blaze" pumpkin exhibition in Cortlandt Manor, NY- definitely worth at least one visit; this could probably do with a second as well during the day. Note that the floor you will be walking on is snow and ice- wear warm boots. Definitely NOT handicapped accessible.

Well we can check Ice Castles off of our bucket list. It was an okay place to visit for the day. Our pictures did come out cool but the actual Ice Castles themselves were smaller than I imagined they’d be. The lights at night were really pretty! Expensive hot cocoa is sold but it’s homemade and didn’t taste that good. Overall it was a good experience for us southern folks but I have no desire to go back.

A beautiful enchanting experience for all to experience!
Although the season was a bit shortened due to warmer weather, during our visit the warmer weather actually enhanced our experience as we were able to enjoy all the activities including the sled ride to its fullest!
Looking forward to returning again next year!!

I Ioved the experience walking through the lighted woods as much as seeing the ice castles light up. The only thing was my husband and I are older so we had to hold on to the ropes (where they had them) so we wouldn't slip. We did have boots on but not what you put on the bottom to grip the ice. This wood be a fun place to take a family with young children.

Go on off hours to avoid crowds. And I would go earlier in season. It was a very pleasant visit to walk around and see the sights - mostly for kids but as a kid at heart, I enjoyed it!

It was absolutely breathtaken. Ive wanted to go for 3 years but always sold out and Im so fortunate to have seen it this year.

my family visited Lincoln NH over the weekend of 2/7-2/10. We had a great time in town, snowmobiling and snowshoeing. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the man-made ICE Castle. Thank God we had purchased ticket the week before for the line of cars to get in was long. It was well worth the wait. Amazing ice display that you have to see to believe. We took two hrs to tour it, the temp was 10' but we did not notice. Would recommend this to anyone who visits in winter.

Definitely smaller than anticipated and ice slide and crawling thru holes are definitely for younger people. Sleigh ride was only fair. A lot of money for what you get.

We went with a small group of friends and made a weekend out of it. We waited a little too long to book so had a later time at 9:30. Make sure you dress warmly, then add a layer! They had beautiful photo spot areas and even an ice slide- adults can use it too!

Exceeded expectations, a magical place that impressed us and the kids. We had never seen anything like it. The sleigh ride was also peaceful and beautiful. We spent about 40 min total. Enjoyed every minute.

This was a fun night out from our week long family/friend ski trip we take every year..
Although a bit pricey for the attraction ($20 for entry , $20 for a 10 min sleigh ride by horse ride I wouldn’t do again), it was quite pretty! The entry fee itself of $20 seems to be reasonable as there are plenty of ice sculptures, slides, tubing, picture ops to take in, but the sleigh ride was not really worth it to me. The trees were lined with lights, it was nice being pulled by horses & having some laughs with family & friends. The kids thought it was amazing; but without the kids I would not have gotten it or do it again. The tubing was pretty fun. Honestly I have no complaints & thought everything was great besides the sleigh ride cost. The outside bar area was so pretty and cool to be at. The standing fire pit areas & igloo bar were beautiful. I’d go back again if we come back up to NH for another vacation which I’m sure we will. Make sure you dress warm! Some people in our group didn’t want to wear their ski pants & boots, but they regretted it. Definitely recommend it. You’re walking in ice/snow, sliding down it, sitting in it. Just wear them. Lol.

We were very disappointed with our trip to ice castles. For the distance we drove and the money we paid, I could’ve taken our guests to dinner and a movie, and had much more entertainment. Building a giant wall and throwing color on it is not what I call wondrous, although some do, which is why we made the effort. Make sure you have plan B if you intend on making an evening of this.

The main reason people spend the high ticket price is to take photos. When we get there we are told we can’t bring in a small phone tripod so that I can get photos of us together. So instead we have to rely on the kindness of strangers and their shakey hands for photos on my phone because they only want you to use their “photographers” and pay even more money to get photos. It’s such a money grab, horrible experience. $30 a ticket & I can’t even take photos the way I want on my own phone in 2023, it’s ridiculous.

Although we were transparent that we had a disabled teenager with us, no accommodation was given. We pre purchased tickets and from the beginning it was not to be. The entry is almost impossible to get through for anyone with footing issues. No consideration was given and we never made it past the entrance sign. No one “in a blue jacket” ever asked if they could help.

Cool but it was overpriced for the size of it. Line was long for the slide and snow tubing. Hot chocolate was tiny and $4 each.

We loved it! My boys loved exploring all of the slides, tunnels, holes, and fountain. We stayed about an hour and a half and caught the fire show at 8:15 which was lovely. some people we were with didn't think it was worth the drive from Connecticut but I did. What a fun winter destination and Lincoln is a cute town. Plenty to do.

We were enjoying our visit until my husband and I decided to take an official picture in the place which cost us 25 dollars. It’s been more than two weeks and we haven’t received anything!! We have tried to contact them and so far nobody has told us how to get the picture or our money back!!! Terrible service!! we feel that we have been stolen and apparently nobody cares!! Don’t go and waste your time and money!!

The ice castles were so much fun at night because of the beautiful lights! Tickets really MUST be ordered in advance! Our group ranged from 10 years old to 55 years old and all of us had a blast. Make sure you dress as though you are going skiing with winter boots because it is very cold and you have to trudge through unpacked snow at first. There were so many surprises we did not expect that were very entertaining. We spent an hour and 15 minutes there.

We bought tickets 2 weeks in advance to see the ice castles (highly recommend). When we got there we took a photo and went inside, there was one big area where the did the fire show and two little rooms, one had a fountain. The line for the slide was long but totally worth it! The fire show was really cool as well. I was expecting it to be a little bigger but it was still pretty awesome.

Good experience as we had never been before. Nothing that we would rush back to. Price is high for what is really there. Don’t need a long time. We made the best of it and enjoyed out time there walking through. Disappointed that the horse drawn sleigh ride was another $20 per person so we skipped that. Should have been included. We tried to remember what it probably took to create the ice castles and maintain the grounds.

Everyone should go and see the beauty in the ice castles! Lots of fun. Need to dress warm and have good winter snow boots.

Super fun for kids and adults. A few suggestions for smaller kids def wear a snow suit. Larger kids and adults many many layers of clothes. We used hand warmers, foot warmers and body warmers and it made all the difference. Being cold isn’t fun for anyone. And wear waterproof boots bc you will be walking in snow. Go at dusk or dark so you can see all the beautiful lights. Gift shop is limited and only takes credit cards. The woman who waited on us wasn’t the most pleasant human. We didn’t get to do the sleigh ride bc those tickets were sold out and we bought very soon after tickets went on sale. The hot chocolate was warm and so we loved it but it wasn’t good. Overall a very fun time for the whole family.

The ice castles are truly amazing! They are beautiful and I give a huge shout out to the people who have created this!
The downside to this magical place is defintely the parking. We had such a horrible experience with parking our car. They really need to change the way they direct people to park and what kinds of cars are parked there. My husband has a smaller jeep and where he had to park he had many people say they couldn't get by him due to other cars not pulling in far enough on the other side.
Besides the parking I would not go again on a Saturday night around 5 since it was so busy we could barely move!
All in all- it is so beautiful and creative, but not sure if I'd go again!

The ice sculptures and structures are very beautiful. Clearly an engineering feat of winter beauty. Slides were fun, horses were cool. Wade their driver was nice. A few complaints:
1. Signage isn’t very clear. We wandered for a while looking for the slide and then again the exit.
2. One food truck for 100s maybe more people isn’t enough. P.S. why are there Dunkin signs but no Dunkin?
3. Tubing hill was fun but they were running only 2 of three lanes on president’s day weekend. If the kids could have rode more often we would have stayed…maybe that’s why they do it?
4. Quote pricey for an hour visit.
5. Very muddy conditions in the parking lots. Not a big deal, but plan accordingly.
6. Some places the ice is very compacted and slippery and others it’s so deep that you feel like you’re hiking through 8 inches of snow.
Overall—worth a stop if you have other things to do in the area and have the money/patience.

This was a cool experience. This trip consists of 2 boys (8/9) and parents. They had so much fun.
They loved the slides but there were only 2 slides available (1 small and 1 average size). I was told that there was a larger ice slide last year. The boys also loved the snow tubing. The lines weren't too long. We enjoyed hot coco and some snacks which they sold. We didn't do the trail in the woods as we were too cold. But we enjoyed the tubing, slides and sight-seeing of course.
It was really cold! I was surprised we stayed as long as we did. (about 2.5 hours).
I would recommend this experience at least once.

I don't even know where to start with this - I had previously gone to the Ice Castles back in 2019 with my family. I was so impressed, I decided to go up again this past year (January 2021) with two of my friends.
I was so disappointed this year - it definitely wasn't as grand as it had been in 2019 and I felt embarrassed bringing my friends there. There were no fountains, there was significantly less areas to walk around it. Based on this experience, I would not go again.

What an amazing experience! We went at night and it was beautiful. Go at your scheduled time and stay as long as you want. Definitely wait in line to sled down the hill!

The ice castles are a must visit if you are in the New Hampshire area in the wintertime. We enjoyed visiting them just after sunset so we could enjoy the castles when they were lite up. The lighted forest walk through was also a big hit with our little kids. Try out the ice slide as well, super fun for kids and adults!

We went to the Ice Castles with no expectations and we were amazed by how fascinating they were. We had a wonderful time, parking was close by, it was crowded, but we bought out tickets in advance and got right in. Make sure you dress warm!

First timer and love at first sight. Not to leave behind that I was freezing! But the horse ride, the big frozen walls, the lights, the staff, the all... It is something that everyone should experience. 10/10

Made reservations well in advance. They were very good about parking and it was easy to access the property. Checking in was a breeze as well. Dress warm because it was very cold when we went. Everything is very cool- gauged more for the 5-12 year old population i think. We spent many fifteen minutes there. Probably won’t go back. It was a two hour drive for us and it was our primary destination!

Visited this place this past weekend! You have to make advance reservations and purchase tickets online. It was so cold we could only hang out for about 1/2 hour It was very pretty and something fun to do. I would not go again. For me it is a one time event.

Great family time!! Loved going down the slide and in the tunnels. Staff was great. The Ice Castles are amazing. Worth the trip up in a snowstorm.

I understand that this experience is weather dependent. However, it would be helpful to give people 48 hour notice to allow them to cancel lodging or other obligations rather than waiting the afternoon prior. Even the businesses in the area felt the affects of people being frustrated by the last minute cancellation by Ice Castles

Super disappointing, for starters it’s expensive then they charged me an arm and a leg when I had to reschedule because my kiddo woke up with a high fever that morning. Had to spend like an extra 40$ Spent so much money and the place it’s not that great. Kids liked the ice slides best and let’s be honest… it’s free to go sledding and they would have had more fun. Sure it’s cool but I wouldn’t recommend it or go back. Such bad costumer service

Buy tickets in advance online as they sell out. To add to some reviews we read - Snow pants def for kids but for adults not really necessary unless you want to crawl through the small tunnels and take one of the ice slides. If your kids can do a 10 foot slide on their own you can observe rather than hold them. Boots a good idea for all as the walkways are all loose snow so for older visitors or those with trouble walking in loose snow be aware that it can be a challenge.
We went with 4 kids 3-12 yrs. All enjoyed it, 3 year old wore her Elsa dress and LOVED it, 12 year old got some cool instagram pics.

This self-guided experience will take about 35 minutes. If you have little ones who play, or if you are interested in taking a lot of photos, you could spend more time. It’s very cool! Theatrical music plays. There are fires to warm up. Price seemed just right. We didn’t have snow pants on but you don’t need them to try the slide (as they provide little sleds). That was fun! I wouldn’t drive hours unless you had other things to do in the area, but If you are close or about an hour away, it’s definitely worthwhile for all ages! Put the kids in snow pants so they can crawl through the tunnels.

Words cannot describe this attraction. Awesome! Breathtaking! Out of this world! Dress warmly and take the sleigh ride as an added expense. Well worth it! Take your time going through and be careful. Boots a must as well as hat, scarf, mittens/gloves, and winter jacket. Going back next year!

Weather was good, Friday night and lots of young children. Not a good venue for younger (2 to 6 year olds)as everyone is told no running, no touching or licking ice and no climbing. Only 1 unimaginative slide and one kiddie slide and a tiny tunnel for playtime. It was small, we walked through twice and were done in 30 minutes.

The Ice castles were fascinating. Very fun going through the mazes and tunnels. We even went down the slide! Very interesting formations and we loved it.

It is truly a magical place. Went at night on Valetine's Day. It was extremely cold, but I enjoyed going at night because of the lights. Also did the horse and sleigh ride which was lovely. They seemed flexible with the timing and order of both things. We arrived late and they said we could do the sleigh ride first if we wanted. We did then did the ice castles. Unfortunately, we didn't stay long, as it was a frigid night but can't necessarily go when it's warm! It was beautiful though. Never seen anything like it! Romantic for Valentine's Day!

Amazing time. The attention to detail is evident throughout the entire property. Parking lot attendants are keen and attentive to their jobs to maximize efficiency. The booth staff are great, friendly and helpful. The ice castles themselves are beautiful and a sight to see ! Concession stands were great to have, by the propane fireplaces throughout to warm up. The ice slides were a hit with my child!!! The sleigh ride was really cool and added a touch of magic. Highly recommend.

While the Ice Castle itself was beautiful, we went with my seven year old granddaughter, and due to the large crowds, she was not able to go down the ice slide. The line was so long we would have been standing there for way too long in the freezing weather. The tickets are a bit expensive, $36.00 each, and everything inside is not included. The sleigh ride was $25.00 extra! Per person ,even for kids! We were disgusted. She was in tears by that point. If you have your photos taken right when you walk in, they are $29.00 each, a hot chocolate is $5.00 for a small cup, adult drinks at the ice bar are $17.50, and I went into the gift shop hoping for just a postcard, they were $5.00 each! The rest of the items were outrageous. If you go, be prepared to spend money.

This is the 3rd year we've been to the Ice Castles and the new location is great! There was so much more space for them to create this years castle. The parking seems to be smaller but the people directing cars made it easy to get in and out. I loved that they built around the trees, it added to the wonder and the small fire warming spots near concessions was a great addition. We'll definitely be back again and look forward to seeing what they do next!

Have been wanting to go to Ice Castles for years and finally made it up for my birthday! It was beautiful!! The lights were so pretty. There was supposed to be a fire show at 7:15 p.m., but we were told they were cancelled for the season so that was a disappointment. Beautiful sight to see and great fun for kids!!

Loved the Ice Castle experience! I liked the lighted woods walk as much as anything else. Went for a short sleigh ride. My wife and I had a thrill going down the adult ice slide. It was a great date night.

Heard so much about Ice Castles over the past years. One of those, have to go to places according to friends.
Over-hyped? Not at all! We visited on a Tuesday night to avoid crowds, a good plan for sure. Arrived at sunset, and were not disappointed. The ice-sculpting, construction and the staff were all first-rate. We spent close to 90 minutes wandering on the various paths, trying the ice-slide, and taking a slew of pictures of various ice creations and color.
Worth the ride and the price of admission? A resounding yes on all counts.

We went during the day, recommend going at night. The lights are amazing! Still wonderful to see even at daytime.

They are impressive ice sculptures but I personally feel they could be better showcased. It lacked the magical atmosphere they deserve. I also think the amount of time and talent that went into creating them could be exhibited and would add to the experience. The food offerings lacked imagination (cocoa and cinnamon rolls).

The ice castles were great.
Very crowded with people.
You must wear boots because the parking lot was all mud.

The Ice Castle was impressive. We went during the early evening. The lighting highlighted the scene. The weather was reasonably cold and clear. The walking area was slippery as the ground had an accumulation of granulated snow / ice. This was more than expected. I would recommend to family and friends.

This was beautiful and fun! It was a bit small but they said it’s a property they own and so it will continue to grow! My favorite part was the slide- so fun!!!

Ice Castles is an artistic take on winter. This is good for families or even couples like myself, well into retirement age. Gates open at 4:30 and the formations light up automatically as darkness sets in. You will spend about an hour. We went4:30-5, got the beauty of the lights and made dinner at 6:30.Wear waterproof footwear- walking in 3-4 inches of snow, bring a change of footwear, as waterproof is still wet on the exterior.

Fun but…. Ice castles looked cool smaller than I expected tho I know must of taken forever to make slide was fun tubing was closed which is a let down not sure if it’s worth the money I went in the day probally cooler at night tho

This year the Ice Castle had fire dancers. Unfortunately, people put kids on their shoulders, stood in front, and basically most people are taller than me! It was cool, but I don't think you need to stay for the whole show. The slide is super fun and I recommend it for everyone! Bring some hand warmers to keep warm!

Ice Castles in Lincoln,New Hampshire is a fantastic activity for the whole family.
Each year the builders design a bigger and better castle. You can't help but be amazed
by their creativity.

Kind of neat to see but it seems like a better experience to take kids to instead of a group of adults. Enjoyed the fire show but everything else you get through too quickly.

What an amazing job these icicle makers do! They've created a perfect Artic getaway inside the castle walls. It's cold in there so dress warm. It is super packed on the weekend and towards the evening. We went at 4:30 before the mad rush and once you're inside you are welcome to stay as long as you like. Had no kids with me but the ones I saw around were having a great time! Loved!

Not really sure what I was expecting, but I wasn’t blown away. Ice Castles is cool and pretty but you can’t really hear the music over the people and I feel like it was supposed to go with the changing colors. We had to wait a couple of times for staff the clean the walkways with a machine, but that was understandable because it was a warmer night. Lots and lots of kids and most of them waiting in line to ride the only ice slide. I think it’s very smart that people are assigned times to go in as it would be foolishly crowded otherwise. There’s a photographer at the beginning who will take your pic and you have the option to buy it later. For $30!! I didn’t see anyone buying it and feel that if they were to sell for $15, lots of people would be buying. But $30 is ridiculous. Didn’t try the cocoa or warm cinnamon buns but they smelled great! I’m glad I went but feel like I saw it.

Have been visiting the Ice Castles since they started at Loon Mountain. Every year bigger and brighter adventure.

So happy the hotel mentioned Ice Castle’s! We had fun as big kids :). It was close and not too expensive. Out favorite was the ice slides.

We paid $27 per ticket for a 5-530pm time slot. The reason we booked was because the lit up forest wall looked beautiful. We drove 90 minutes up north with my 2 year old and my elderly mother. We walked through the main ice castle which was nice and made our way to the forest walk.
The walk was shut down at 455pm and we were told that it would open in 10 minutes. We waited until 530 before finally deciding it was time to leave (my son was getting antsy).
On the way out of the exit I turned around to see that the walk was still in fact closed. So for our whole booked time slot one of the main attractions was closed. To say we were disappointed with paying $27 per ticket would be an understatement.
I contacted the ice castles when we got home to explain our situation and ask for a refund. I was sent a generic response email saying sorry, no refunds. When I explained myself further with my next email, I received a copy and paste of their initial response.
For us driving 3 hours and being disappointed I can see where their customer service is at.
The ice castles are NOT worth the money. Especially if your feedback is not being taken into consideration. We will not be going again.

I personally enjoyed the ice castles. I know a lot of people who think they are overrated or kind of lame. But I felt transported right into the world of Disney’s Frozen! I have no idea how they built these things but they are spectacular. It was definitely a great place for kids to enjoy. They even have a couple areas inside you can go down an ice slide (adults too)!

First-time visitor in 2021. The structure is impressive, and the structure will never be the same from one day to the next. We enjoyed the small tubing hill. The developers certainly put in a lot of time for the walk through the woods with various lighting schematics. Our son enjoyed the tunnel and slides.
I'd recommend wearing yaktrax or similar footwear - while not essential, it might help in a few locations (the staff is extremely attentive to how slippery surfaces are and constantly work to maintain a safe walking surface.
The parking lot had attendants, but it was evident that some guests just took the first space they found (and not pulling as far forward as they could/should making the lanes tight. We had tickets in hand and were confused with the long queue to go to the ticket booths; each adult needs to sign a waiver at the ticket booth.
It is a well-run and thought-out operation.

It was beautiful, dress warm and enjoy! Many caves and slides, wear warm waterproof clothes, My daughter and I went neither oneof us was cold. Heard a rumor the may be expanding in another location.

Went to see the ice castles for the first time this year. It was an unbelievable experience. I even went down the ice slide. Cannot really appreciate it unless you go see it in person.

Our first visit was more enjoyable for two reasons - warmer weather and visited during the week. This time it was negative degrees with the wind chill factor and only 12 degrees without it, it was absolutely FREEZING even being completely bundled up in full winter attire. My son did not mind as much as myself and his father of course. The downside for him was that it was completely packed and the line for the slides was at least an hour wait - which was not going to happen. Fortunately there were some smaller slides available and he was able to go on those repeatedly. We also lucked out that we went to get some cocoa and a snack from the little cafe house and the woman in front of us was alone and pregnant attempting to juggle two cinnamon rolls and four cups of cocoa. We offered to help and she declined but after dropping one of her cups and spilling it (which the attendant at the cafe gladly replaced at no charge and even offered my son a free one for being so helpful to the woman), she gladly accepted and had us follow her to her family in line for the slide. My son voiced how he wanted to go but I told him no, the line was too long so she told us to just cut in with her family (not something I would normally do but a crying child calls for desperate measures). Only I went with my son so that we would only be adding one trip down the slide (there are only 2 lanes). No one behind us was upset, or at least they didn't seem so thankfully. The wait ended up being about 15 minutes as we got in right were you grab the sleds and my son was beyond thrilled, we left right after this as it was too cold to stay any longer. Overall, it was still a great visit and it's an amazing craft to view. Next year, I will be going on a weekday!

Pretty but disappointing. Not as expansive as it seems and after about 15 minutes we were ready to go. I guess a family with small children might find it more appealing than two grown adults. if you go, bring handwarmers.

Wonderful place, very cool to see what they do with ice structures, LED lights, etc but honestly a bit over-priced. In total you see/experience everything in about 30-45 minutes. To get 5 stars, I'd recommend they shave $4-5 off the price OR to really make it a memorable experience, offer everyone exiting (all forced through the gift shop) a free cup of steaming hot chocolate or coffee...would add a nice sweet touch and 'memorable moment' to the entire experience.

Night time is the best to see this as the lighted ice is really something to see. Every year is different and the amount of people that come see this has grown! Great for Ice Castles but has kinda lost something as it is almost to busy. I would recommend for the fire shows, or any of the shows, to build a little stage so they are up higher for all to see. Hard to want to tip them when you can't really watch them. This does keep kids occupied as there are always tunnels and slides for them which is really neat. Would like to see more "show stopping pieces" like the water element or other carve outs. All in all we will continue to go.

Visited Ice Castles on President's Day. It was pretty neat. Because the weather was so warm the ground was quite slushy as opposed to walking on crushed ice as previous reviews stated. And it was dripping down a lot as we looked up to get pictures. Having said that it was still really cool. The fountain was mesmerizing as it changed colors and spurted water. We waited in line for over 30 minutes to go down the slides. It was 10 seconds of crazy fast sliding ending in a bit of a ditch - be careful of your backs!! The cost was reasonable so I would definitely recommend it. And even though we were a party of 5 adults we still enjoyed it very much. The children there seemed to be having a great time as well.

We went with another couple and without our kids who are grown so we didn't have the fun we would have had if they been with us. That being said, we had wanted to go for quite some time, and we were glad we had finally made it. They are definitely weather dependent both in the long term and the short term. If you are a true New Englander this won't matter. Complaints about mud & not being able to cancel are in my opinion and others should be a non-issue. I would say the best time slots to go are in the evenings to get the full effect of the lighting. We were there around dusk but it was still great. We took the sleigh ride which was cool although on the shorter side. It still brings back feeling of days gone by! We had a drink at the Igloo and met some awesome people standing around the fire. A great way to spend the afternoon.

Me and my family attended the Ice Castles this past March. It was the final weekend. We had two toddlers, and their eyes were wide and bright. Our viewing time was 12 noon. On the property you weave in and out of the lighted Ice Castles. A small log cabin selling hot chocolate. Little slides in and out of the Castles. We all enjoyed visiting the Ice Castles. One tip...buy your tickets online. Don’t wait till you get there or it will be sold out. I was so happy when my son told me, he already bought the tickets. Because they were turning people away. I recommend this outing for families, all ages.

We saw a segment on New Hampshire Chronicle about the Castles and decided it looked interesting. We visited last Tuesday at the 5:30 slot. The lines were quite long, but moved at reasonable pace. The lines for the tubing and slides were about 50 people deep, but folks seemed to be having a great time. The outdoor walk was our fav. You have to anticipate an attraction like this to be like Disney---patience is definitely what you need to survive the night. All in all, we enjoyed the experience, but once was probably enough.

This is definitely a cool place...The structure, integrity and design of the castles is super cool, if you can appreciate something like that. Otherwise, pictures can be deceiving. I may have an unpopular opinion on them, but pictures made them seem like they were enormous and very “castle”-like...In reality, the “castles” are probably like 10-15 feet tall. Yes, I realize what it takes to create such a structure, but when I hear castles and think of being up in the mountains in Lincoln NH, I don’t think a 10-15 foot structure that’s frozen over in the middle of a field.

The Ice Castle experience was aa awesome experience, breathtaking really! I only gave 4 stars because their website is very misleading! Ticket prices on the site were $20. per adult for the weekday experience! We didn't purchase ticket in advance because we had a 3 hour drive to get there an didn't know how traffic could impact our arrival time. When we went to the ticket window we were told $36. each! We said the website said $20. Oh, just scan the Kiosk which we did, still $36. so, we had to go on the website at the ticket window and purchase the tickets online for $20. each!
The experience, once we got over the entry process, was totally awesome! well worth the money! More than we expected! We took our time, an hour and a half, and the sites were truly spectacular! Highly recommend for all ages!

I went with a friends for a fun getaway! We bought our tickets in advance as it was a Friday night and know they sell out. We went around 4:30 so we could see the Ice Castle in both light and at night. Only took about an hour+ to make the rounds and see everything. It was not too bad when we arrived but by 5:30 the place was packed. Glad we got there when we did. Fun to see! Make sure to dress warm!

I was expecting castles. Instead it was just a big "room" surrounded by ice with a slide for the kids. Extremely slippery for someone who is older. Maybe the kids like it, but I wouldn't recommend it for adults and older children.

My husband and I drove 4 hours from Connecticut to join my son and his family for our visit to the Ice Castles. My son's children are 2, 4, 7 and 9 years old. The children had a great time sliding and going through tunnels. We thoroughly enjoyed watching them have fun! We took lots of photos - and since they live in Vermont, we appreciated our time together.
I'm glad we went. It was a unique experience. Would I go again or without the children? I don't think so. Maybe if we lived closer...but 4 hours up and 4 hours back was a long drive! Probably wouldn't choose to do it a second time.

My family and I decided to take a random road-trip to New Hampshire to check out the ice castles in person. I actually found pictures on Instagram of people who were at the Canada location and just thought it looked so cool. I ended up googling ice castles in Canada and was led to their website and found out the nearest location to me was in New Hampshire. After driving almost five long hours, we made it just on time to enter during our time slot. We arrive around 4:30pm which I believe was the perfect time to enter. We were able to see everything right before sunset and also at night. I absolutely loved this experience, I couldn't stop snapping photos in every corner. Even though at one point I couldn't feel my toes, it was well worth the visit. As I was posting photos onto Instagram, family and friends kept asking where was this located and were so surprised to find out it was in the United States.

We visited February vacation 2022. We were supposed to be renting a cabin in NH for a few days but were unable to keep our reservations. We decided to keep our Ice Castle tickets but had to drive 2 hours up and back from central MA. We were unable to get tickets for nighttime when it was lit up and had 2pm tickets. Not sure I would drive up and back from central MA for it but it was cool. Definitely overpriced but a fun afternoon activity. My 8 year old daughter really liked it. The only bathrooms are port-a-potties. It was very busy while we were there but it was school vacation week. Some people were wearing masks but most were not. We didn't wear them since it was outside and we felt fine just giving space to others. It had been 65 the day before we went and closed but everything still looked really cool. Not sure if the heat affected the day we went or if they spray it overnight but everything looked great. It was smaller than I expected but the ice was really cool and my 8 year old loved it. There is a slide int he castles, the line was long but moved fairly quick. There is a small snow tubing hill behind that is included in the cost but we didn't do it because the line was really long and the hill was tiny. You can pay $20 for a sleigh ride. Not sure if that is per ride or per person. There is a walking trail that gets lit up at night that I bet would be really cool at night but midday was just a short uninteresting path through the woods. It was nicely sanded though so it wasn't slippery. There is a snack shack that sells cookies, hot cocoa, and cinnamon buns. Cocoa was $4 per cup and the cinnamon buns were $7!!!! We forgot our wallets in the car but were able to pay with our phones (thank you technology). There was really almost no place to sit, especially near the snack shack. Not sure if this is because of COVID or just lack of space but there is a random bench here or there but otherwise no place to sit. We spent about 2 hours there which was more than I expected. My daughter really liked it and it was a fun family afternoon just not sure i would do the 2 hour drive up and 2 hour drive back again.

I am sure seeing the castle is amazing but they were not open yet, not till med January. Per TripAdvisor, they opened at noon:-(. I drove 2 hrs to see it. Just disappointed as it would have been great to see

This place was awesome. My family and I went on the Tubing and slides. Absolute awesome experience..

I'm glad I read reviews of this attraction before we visited. We went in with the right level expectations and were not disappointed. It's incredible how they build this. There are multiple rooms, bridges, fountains, lights, and tunnels to roam through. Make sure you buy/reserve tickets in advance or you probably won't get in. You get a 30 minute window you can enter and you can stay as long as you want. Try to reserve entrance time just before sunset. That way you can see it in the daylight and stay until it gets dark and the lights come on. It does get crowded so don't expect many pictures without other guests in your background. Don't go hungry as there is no/limited food and the waiting line is huge.

The ice castles were pretty but the whole place was much smaller than I thought it would be. We were up that way so we went however, I am glad we didn't make a special trip to see them.

When you first walk in it is breathtaking! Amazing what they can do with ice! We went when it was about 15 below zero! Dress in layers-NOT the place to be a fashion-ista! Wear winter BOOTS. Use bathrooms BEFORE entering. Take the time to stand in the lonnnnggg line for the ice-slide-well worth it...beware you go fast! SOOO much fun! ( If its warmer outside, this ride may get you wet...so go on ride LAST.) FREE PARKING! All has to experience this at least once!

If you value your car avoids this location at all costs. The parking lot is unpaved and full of 6+” mud. Almost every car including mine bottomed out several times. Imagine a parking lot full of a chocolate Wendy’s Frosty. There are also horses being led through it, so there’s probably a good amount of horse manure mixed in with that mud.

I read about this site (and its 5 sister sites in North America) last winter, but was too late to visit. Took the opportunity of a visit of a long-standing friend (54 years!) from the south in January to drive up and see it. It is a great venue for children, magical, especially in this year of "Frozen" (they were even piping music from the film in on the sound system). But I can tell you that this pair of 72-year olds had a great time too. We went in the early evening on a weekday so it was not crowded at all. I have heard that on weekends, they can be mobbed. This years' venue (it is not the address listed above) is partially in the woods and the "castles" are built among the trees. The ice is lit from behind at night in muted colors. There are braziers to warm your hands on. The ice formations in the "castles" are phantasmagorical. Other reviewers have complained that the size of the "castles" are too small. I don't know what they expected-an alpen "schloss"? The walls are a good 15 feet high and there is a ramp to a lookout that allows you to see most of the structure. The staff is very helpful and will gladly explain in detail how the castles were built-icicles made on fence rails that are "glued" with sprayed on water which freezes them together. There are no other supports. Paths wind through the castles are snow that the staff is continually chopping up so that there is some traction. Dress for winter outdoors. Plan to spend 1-2 hours.

Oh my gosh, such a wonderful event for all. Families, tour groups, and couples. The artistic creativity and overall creation methodology was amazing. Little ones loved the experience, especially the ice slides. The lighting after dark adds a special touch. We took the carriage ride with horses, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne. Beautiful ride! Finally, firepits and hot chocolate helped keep us warm. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate to visit the Ice Castles on a Tuesday evening when the crowds were low. Low crowds, visiting after dark and dressing in warm layers were key to savoring everything that Ice Castles had to offer. The attraction has expanded greatly since we previously visited years ago. Fun surprises were literally around every turn. The entire family loved exploring the nooks and crannies of the castle itself, sampling the different slides, taking the lighted walk through the woods and capturing photos at every opportunity. It even started snowing lightly, further enhancing the magic. As a mid-week treat to break up the winter doldrums, Ice Castles can't be beat!

Ice Castles..what a joke! I purchased tickets weeks ago, loaded up the fam (including 6 mo old), drove1.5 hours only to get a text just before entrance time saying they were closing due to weather. It would have been nice to hear earlier in the day that conditions were unfavorable for evening viewing or something like that since they said they were watching the weather all day. I’m sure this is super cool for those that are able to actually get in. Just keep in mind when buying tickets and driving a distance that you could be turned away. What a disappointment.

When it comes to winter, highly recommended visiting this place. The view is amazing. It's cold but so beautiful.

It was beautiful. kids loved it. It was cold... colder than expected. Sleigh ride, could have been skipped. Ensure you buy tickets online ahead of time. dress warm... did I say that already????

Buy your tickets early. Best on a Sunday night. Friday and Saturdays its packed. Great experience walking through the different rooms and tunnels. LED lights change the ice different colors. Could use some more ice sculptures though.

Nice place, friendly folks, cute horse/carriage trail. Fun ice structures to walk through with well thought out lighting placement.

We decided to see the Ice Castles in N Woodstock. It was really nice. A giant ice slide for big kids as well as the small. Lots of illuminated ice pieces to climb on or under or walk on. Bring your camera and warm clothes!!
There are fire barrels to warm up by. A concession stand to serve warm drinks, and even a gift shop.

Omg. Where to start. It was like a dream. The ice sculptures are massive. Dress warm. I recommend skiing pants. Do go horse sledding. They are beautiful creatures. 5pm us perfect time to go there and get both of day and night time.

It was not at all what we imagined. It was difficult to move in with the build up of snow and was far smaller than we anticipated. It may be good for kids and younger people but older people will have a difficult time going down ice slides and thru tunnels where you have to crawl. Once was enough for us and most likely we will not return.

As a repeat visitor to the amazing ice castles, the experience of the horse drawn sleigh ride is what is the most memorable part of the adventure.
The beautiful castles and the individual ice sculptures certainly are the mainstay of the attraction.
One would be remiss not to mention the gorgeous walk through the enchanted forest area, which although the weather was quite cold, was certainly worth spending time exploring.
We are ready to do it again!
Hope you go as well!!!

We drove over 2 hours just to see these and we were not disappointed. These are made from over 25000 tons of ice. There are not a lot of things to see here but if you appreciate the work that was put in to it and just look at all the lights it is worth it.
We also took the horse drawn sleigh ride and that was worth it as well.

Not worth the money. They need to set up some permanent structures on the location. Warming stations, a bench to put on boots and snow pants, real bathrooms. It was 8° when we went. Being crammed into a port-a-potty pulling layers of gear off a four year old who’s about to pee her snowpants isnt fun.
The walk in the woods was cool. We did that three times then had to leave before the kids got frostbite.

The ice castles are stunning. We went at midday, so while we missed the multicolored lighting effects they use at night, we got to see the brilliant blue hues of the ice in daylight. I would say we spent about 40 minutes here, and that was about all we needed to do a few loops through the ice formations.
They also have an ice slide (we didn't wait for this as the line was extremely long), a concession stand with hot drinks, small fire pits, and sleigh rides on the property. You'll want to wear warm clothes and sturdy winter shoes.
While they do stagger admission, it did feel like the castles were nearly at capacity... any more crowded and it would have been annoying to try to navigate. Luckily, so many people were in line for the ice slide, it made moving through the ice castles a little easier. Parking was plentiful and well-managed, which also helped.
I'd say this is worth a stop if you're nearby and have an hour or two to spend. It's really beautiful and unique, but it won't fill up a day and you may have to contend with crowds/lines.

Very cute place. Relatively small. Good for kids. Nice for taking pictures. Spent about 45 minutes here.

Great concept great little books and crannies for the kid as well as slides.
Cons were the wait for the main slide. Needed more fire pits and hand out free hot chocolate with the price of the ticket. Should throw a penguin and seal aquarium as well.

The ice castles in North Woodstock were so much fun. The ice castles are something to see, the igloo to crawl through and the sliding were so much fun. They offer sleigh rides as well as a beautifully manicured walk through the woods!

Our family all met up in Lincoln, NH to enjoy the beauty of the ice castle. However, we were a little disappointed.
It only takes 30 minutes to walk through and although the colors, icicles, and tunnels were pretty it simply was not enough for the cost. They really need to expand and be a little more creative.

We went a couple years ago when the ice castles were in Lincoln and loved it then. Then we went thos past weekend to their new location in Woodstock and it was beautiful. The night we went at 9pm it was 2 degrees outside so we bundled up and headed out!

Mixed review. Good in the sense that the kids enjoyed themselves, so that was a plus. Also, nice lights through the woods makes a nice option other than just the ice caves. The not so good, to the point of very frustrating, is the high cost. Booked for the "non-peak" days but was charged the "peak" cost. Then the really frustrating part is they also charge "junk fees" in the form of "service fee" for each ticket. So for 4 tickets, it was an extra $10.75. For what - you are booking your slot on their website (which is the only way to guarantee entrance). Further, once there everything is expensive: $4.50 for a very small cup of hot chocolate, and $25. a person, no matter the age, for the short slay ride through the woods.
Long line for a little hill tube slide, the ice slide is super short and bathrooms are wobbly dirty porta-potty. Now back to what I first wrote - at least the kids had a good time - and I guess for that it was nice.

We bought tickets a week in advance for 7pm. The sign out front said sold out and it was sold out the night before too (friends went). There was a parking person that told us where to go but once we started going down the aisle we passed two parking people chatting with each other and I wasn't sure if I was supposed to find my own at that point and keep following the car in front of me. I pulled in to the first spot I saw. We checked in and were told the rule, signed a waiver. We had fun exploring, the kids did the small slides and some tunnels. Then they saw the big slide. The line was very long, they wanted to wait. It took approx. 35 minutes or so. It didn't seem very efficient and there wasn't a staff person managing the line to keep order. I felt like people just weren't leaving from earlier time slots and it was over sold. After the slide we waited in line to take our picture on the big ice chair. Again, nobody was managing the line so a couple people just walked up and cut in front. The snacks were over priced. $5 for a cookie. We all wore our ski pants, glad I did for the warmth. They recommend bringing a sled for younger kids but it was so crowded that you can trip over them as people aren't paying attention while dragging them. The kids had a good time and I am glad we went but won't do it again. I am glad I took them at these ages (11 and 12) because they will remember it (and trying to manage toddlers at this place seems like a headache )

I had been trying to get to the Ice Castles in NH for several years, and finally I had the opportunity to visit with my family at the beginning of February. It is a wonderful experience that you will not regret. Dress warm, because it is cold being surrounded by ice. There are activities for all ages. We had a great time!

A cool place to check out, but not as the only destination. Fun slides and tunnels for kids, but the line is really long for the big slide. Only a wait minute wait in line to get in. Make reservations in advance!

We got lucky with the weather. The day before it had rained. It lightly snowed the entire time we were there. We arrived right at 4pm. The kids did the slide about a dozen times. As we were leaving, the line for the slide was real long. If you can arrive early I would do so. Also, arriving at 4pm allowed us to see the ice in the light and night. We stayed till 5:30 which was perfect.

It took imagination, talent, and skill to design and build ice castles.
It seemed small and overcrowded for the price of admission.
The parking lot was a sea of mud, but the walkways within the site were, naturally, ice. Very slippery in spots.
Wear good boots. Dress warm.
Best viewed at night.

I went her last week with my sisters. Go after dark, as it is more stunning with the led lights shining through the ice. Get in line right away for the slide. It goes through a tunnel lit with pretty led lights and it's very fast. Worth the wait!!
We spent about an hour and really enjoyed it.

Based on reviews I'd read, my wife and I had high expectations for this experience. In the end, I don't believe those expectations were met. The ice castle itself is beautiful -- but nowhere near as large as the photos make it appear. We also felt that everything associated with it (concessions, gift shop, etc.) were vastly overpriced. While colorful, I somehow expected more creative lighting -- and the practicalities (parking, rest rooms, etc.) left a lot to be desired. An unexpected reality: the adjacent sleighride (also overpriced) generated a strong horse manure smell the permeated the whole facility. We will not be back.

We had tickets for the sleigh ride and castle. The castles were a great time, especially the adult slide, we both went down twice. Absolutely gorgeous castle and the staff was all friendly. The sleigh ride was honestly pretty boring during the day but would probably be better at night with the lights. Overall a great time and we would do it again, probably doing the sleigh ride at night.

The Ice Castle displays are absolutely beautiful. We traveled three hours to witness this extravaganza of ice.I have been interested for a few years and never had the oppurtunity until now.I will say it was worth the trip.I cannot say one bad thing about it.We had great weather ,the timing was perfect around sunset .Not too crowded.Just a great time.I certainly will be back as long as it continues....Thank You for this opportunity.

awesome. Bring your inner little kid and prepare to be delighted. That said, this is a homegrown NH kind of thing- not Disney. And crowded, always! but they do a good job, and I am amazed at the ingenuity of the creator. Def wear boots, and bundle up. There is a lot of wandering, but that is part of the magic.. And defintiely wait in line for the slide- it is short and not steep, but somehow totally worth the wait!

I deft recommend to check the Ice Castle. It will take you about 1 hour or longer to be there. Sure was fun and unique place to see

Not a bad hour, if you’re in the area. It was a little expensive, but everyone seemed to be having a good time. There was music and a cool show where some pretty, young women danced with fire... The line for the (short) slide was long, but moved right along.
There is a shack with cinnamon buns and cookies. $4.50 a Pillsbury bun. I bought 2 for $9. They are literally the buns from the store. For my $9, I could have bought 3 tubes (18 buns) from the store. Still the kids appreciated them.
$100 for the night. 6 of us...

Very bad communication. The event is weather dependent but they don’t let you know that it is closed due to weather until it’s too late. No where to call. Customer support is terrible

This was our first time visit to the Ice Castles and it was awesome!! I specifically planned to go at night because I wasn't bringing kids for the slides and tunnels, I wanted to see the ice formations lit up in the dark and I was NOT disappointed! As is my luck (it's February after all), it was crazy-cold (dress warm) but they did have hand warming fire stations which was great because I couldn't wear a glove on my camera shooting hand. The ice structures were great to see with all the changing colored lights and add the full moon overhead, it was an amateur photographer's dream. I lasted an hour in 8 degree cold (much to my husband's chagrin) because there was so much to photograph and see. I'll bring my grandkids back but will do so with a warmer weather prediction, the tunnels and slides looked like a lot of fun, the kids we saw there were clearly enjoying them! Buy your time-frame tickets in advance, it's a crowded attraction and that clearly regulates your experience for the better when you visit. This is not a venue to just show up to and expect to get in without a wait. Wear good boots (it gets very slushy due to the traffic), kids wear full snowsuits for the sliding and crawling through tunnels, definitely a good hat and warm gloves! But you'll definitely have fun and enjoy the display.

We traveled to Lincoln NH from MA, and it was a long drive, and it was worth it.
The ice castles are a seasonal attraction available only during the winter months, and it literally is a castle of ice. There are various slides and tunnels for kids (and adults) to play in, and a fountain as well. There was a fire show in the evening as well. We brought a sled, which increased the enjoyment for the kids, and made life easier for them when they wanted a break and wanted to sit. Some Disney character look-alikes were also on hand to offer candy and take pictures.
Some logistics to know of, the only available toilets were outside the attraction and they were port-a-potties, and you cannot return inside once you exit. So, go before you go in.
Next, wear snow pants, snow coats, gloves, hats and all the usual accompaniments for spending a day outside in the winter.
Bring a camera, and take some pictures. The best time to go is between 4-5 PM, when you get some daylight and can take lots of pictures, but it's not too early and you can still stick around for the fire show around 6 PM.
Cell networks are pretty spotty in Lincoln, NH so download that google map before you make the trip.
There are restaurants near Kancamagus highway (exit 32) for those are starving right after.
This last one might be obvious. Keep tissues / handkerchiefs handy for those leaky noses.

I spent around $30 a ticket for me and my wife, and drove 90 minutes each way to see the "ice castles". Wow was this is a massive waste of time and money. If it were free or like $5 a ticket then I could see myself doing it but even then I don't think it's worth the time you will spend traveling and being there. Maybe if you have young children they would get kick out of it but l can safely say that your kids' childhood will not suffer in any way should they miss this. Save your money for something worthwhile.
The ice "castles" were truly underwhelming. And the cost of beverages, especially the hot chocolate with alcohol was highway robbery. There was a very short trail through the woods where they had set up lights in the trees, and that was alright. Bottom line is that if at all you are wondering whether this is worth your time and money I can assure it is not. At least not at these ridiculous ticket prices of $30 a ticket.

The pictures make it look much grander than it is. The place is jammed full with kids running everywhere and not much to see. Definitely fun for children I’m sure.

We try to go up yearly or every other year. The new location gives the so much more room to spread out and get creative. I have never been disappointed

Terrible don't come here. Tickets will take your money an no customer support to call. Find any other place that actually respects and values your patronage.

Went to Ice Castles evening it opened. I had pre-bought tickets, however they did not seem organized, maybe because it was the first opening.
It is a new location and a lot of trucks and junk around the entrance. I would assume they will clean this up as they go along.
The Ice Castles were beautiful, and spectacular in the way they were done and the colors were awesome. They had music playing which added to the experience.
I would suggest having warm clothes, and foot warmers. There are areas that are difficult to walk, so you have to watch where you are going. As we were early it was easy to move around.
It got dark when we were there, so my suggestion is to keep an eye on your children, as when we were there, a child was without their parents.
All around great experience and the people that do the sculptors do a great job.

Ice Castles was beautiful and fun for the whole family. Very crowded. Best to be there at dark. We went on Saturday at 4:30. I gotta say it was smaller than I thought. It seems like there would have been more sculptures....the slide was fun. Not real long (though the line was!) we did the sleigh ride. It was an extra $60 and lasted 10 minutes or so. So while I’m glad we went, it seemed rather expensive for the experience.

We had a great experience at the ice castles in NH. I gave it 4 stars for parking, it was extremely tight and not very well orchestrated. It was a snowy night however it is their second season at this location. Anyway, the castles were really cool. I got tickets for my wife, myself, mother, daughter and son in law. My wife and daughter went down both slides and thought they were fun. The displays with ice sculptures were skillfully done and the lights added a great touch. We were there just over an hour and it was certainly worth the money!

Never saw the Ice Castles-they cancelled last minute and we could not refund our hotel so we had to go and find other things to do. Stated weather but the weather was colder the night we were to attend than the following day when they opened. We could not exchange our tickets for the following day because it was sold out. Businesses in town were also frustrated because many patrons were annoyed by the last minute notice.

Really great concept. Been on my list for a few years. It didn't come close to meeting expectations. When admission comes with the disclaimer to "don't lick the ice" I grew concerned. Smaller than expected. Kind of dirty. Porta potties for bathrooms. The "slides" were about 20 feet long after at least a 30 minute wait. Customers were a whole other level of self absorbed. Been there, done that, check.

Wear your coats, boots, hats, and mittens - it's frozen entertainment! Lights and music add atmosphere to the frozen art. There are several tunnels you can crawl through, a fountain, and a slide, to add to the experience.
Even though we came after one week of above 40 degree weather, the castle still provided unexpected pleasure. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. So glad we traveled from Vermont to experience the Ice Castle.

Beautiful ice castles. Took a lot of great pictures. Glad we went at pre-dusk for we had small child with us. When I booked tickets prior to travel they told me over the phone that the added feature of sleigh ride was sold out. When we checking in inperson, they were offering sleigh rides !!!! Go figure

Beautiful place to visit on a COLD moonlit Winter evening ! The ice formations are spectacular and beautifully lit. A Winter Wonderland for sure. It can get really cold in NH in Feb. so dress warm. (it was -10 the night I was there)

This is definitely something everyone should experience! The structure is amazing! We would have liked to see it at night, but the daytime was pretty awesome too!

The Ice Castles is now in its 4th year (or so) and keeps getting more popular. I went midweek and it was worth it. Kids could go down the ice slide and had more time to run about the place. Wear mittens or gloves and warm footwear. You could take a nice family Christmas card picture here.

I have been to nashville tnn to the ice house, but comparing it to ice castle is like comparing apples and oranges, totally different. It takes 1 to 2 hours, depending on how many times you want to slide down the ice slide. Definitely see it at night with the lighting, unbelievable beautiful. The ice slide is gorgeous colors and the slide is very fast=loved it. This is something I would not want to do every year, but definitely see it, well worth it. If you can see it during the week, because on weekends it might get too crowded. We saw it during the week and glad that we did/

We loved this. I would definitely recommend for families. Dress warm and in snow gear for the little one!

It was amazing! The prize is affordable. The mystic forest light walk is beautiful. There’s tubing, slides and even a sleigh ride. You can buy hot cocoa if you get cold. Don’t forget to bundle up. Will go again for sure.

Wow. Where to begin?
Having been to this attraction before, I opted to drop some extended family off here as they had never been. Their sentiments were similar to what I took away from the experience.
First off, traffic entering and exiting is a largely disorganized nightmare. For $17 - $21 per adult and $12 - $16 per child, you would think they could post a police officer at the entrance to control what can only be described as chaos. Also, the parking lot itself is poorly maintained at best. Uneven ruts and patches of glare ice. Watch your step!
Secondly, if you are over the age of 8 you will have had enough of the “magic” in 10 minutes. The place is small and incredibly crowded with rude, pushy tourists and their uncontrolled children. A photo without intrusion is virtually impossible as there are simply too many people allowed in at any given time.
Is it pretty? Yes, but again you’ve seen it all in 10 minutes. It’s really more of a series of frozen “blobs” of water than a castle. The colored lights are neat though.
Are the employees nice? Absolutely! And they ought to be with the kind of money this place rakes in. Don’t know where it all goes, but not a lot seems to go back into streamlining the operation.
$4 hot chocolates? I don’t think Loon mountain charges that much and that place is notoriously expensive.
Nope, not impressed. Much like Alpine Adventures in nearby Lincoln, the Ice Castles is just another example of the increasing exploitation of the beautiful white mountains area. Get ‘em in, get their cash and get ‘em out.
I can’t help but wonder how the people who live next to this place are dealing with the traffic and the ridiculously bright flood lights at the entrance. Maybe the profits go to paying off the neighbors for the constant inconvenience. It’d make a lot more sense to move this whole operation to the race track in Loudon. There’s a lot more room and parking there and the Linwood area could breathe a sigh of relief.
In any case, now that everyone has seen it, at least I can be grateful that I needn’t endure all of this again. If you have young kids and disposable income, do it once.
Just because there’s a long line doesn’t mean it’s wonderful. It’s not.

Fun, easy to move around, wear boots !!! Lots to see, take your time or you will miss something, definitely must do after dark.

Found out about this online and drive 4 hours to see it. We did the horse and sliegh ride too. It is breathtaking. Plan accordingly and dress in layers. 300 tons of ice to play on and in. It’s about a 30-40 min visit so make sure you have something else lined up to do. It is amazing at night but can get crowded later on. A must see!

We had been to the other site a few years ago at Loon. This new site is fantastic! It's huge, and as always amazing! Two levels, tunnels, slides, all sorts of things to discover. Super fun, but dress warm and wear boots - the ice/snow in some places is ankle deep.

Just a great place with lots of ice, neat formations, pretty colors, fun slides and just cold enough to keep the ice solid, but not to make our bodies into ice

Cool place with lots of ice structures to walk through and over. Plenty of tunnels to go through, but be sure to scope them out before crawling in. The slide was fun for both adults and children. Can get crowded as the day goes on.

Great place to visit, be sure to wear comfortable boots/shoes. Use a walking stick if unsteady on your feet, it can be slippery if it is warm and the snow ices underneath your feet. Dress warm and plan on letting the kids take all the time they want. Lines can be a little long for the slides, especially the new double one.

It’s was ok I liked it but it wasn’t what I expected I couldn’t tell what the sculptures but it was fun

This place is unreal. Never saw anything like it. The ice castle was awesome to walk through. Night was special with the ice lit up in different colors. The fun of the ice slide to go through and walking through the castle and if wanting crawl through areas. Fountains and pictures your able to have taken is special. You need to see this when there in the winter.

Fun and entertaining place for adults and kids. The ice is quite amazing. Dress warm and try to wear slip resistant boots, as the ground is icy 🤣 obviously. Bummer the Cinnabon’s were all gone, but hot chocolate was good. Thanks

What a wonderful time. The slide is a must do. You feel like you are on the Olympic bobsled or luge. So much fun. Went during the day and it was spectacular. I can only imagine how beautiful it must be at night all lit up.

The ice castles were impressive and there were slides for kids but it was very pricey for a short experience. Combined with a long drive, the freezing cold, (there is no shelter to warm up for a moment), and the crowds, overall it was nice to see but not worth it

It was pretty nice to see this man make ice castle, glad we did the trip. We were there for the 7:15 pm fire show but didn’t stay for it because u couldn’t see in front of you with everyone standing up! The show needs to be done on a platform higher up from where the people stand. My takeaway was been there, done that, checked it off my list!

After a blizzard came and the NH and MA state governors urged citizens to stay off the road, you refuse to refund, gave me no dates and times that work to change, don’t pick up calls, have 6 different customer service representatives email me as your only way of communicating (amber, cheramie, Michael, Jammie, Ivy, Aliza) and suggest that me and my twin 3 year olds make a 5hr drive to visit at 9pm at some future date? What kind of place is this?

We arrived around 6:30 pm, and it wasn't too crowded.
The colored lights add to the magic of the ice sculptures, walls and even a water fountain.
Don't miss the slide! It's worth the short wait in line.
The fire dancers were just okay, but it was a nice touch, contrasting with the ice.
Don't bother getting a hot cocoa! It was lukewarm and had a funky taste. It was worth more like $1 rather than the $4.
We went the second-to-last weekend. Several people said it was better when they first opened; it had melted some by the time we got there. We didn't know the difference, though, so we still enjoyed it.

We loved the Ice Castle. We arrived on a warm evening and enjoyed the Ice Castle. I highly recommend visiting Ice Castle.

A must see exhibit of ice sculpted into a beautiful edifice of a castle...
A one in a million display of nature transformed into art...
Check it out before it is gone...

Visiting the Ice Castle is like talking a walk inside a fairy tale. It really is incredible how they can build it one icicle at a time. We noticed a lot of young families with children. That in it self was worth it to see the looks on the kids faces. Smiles from ear to ear. Going through the castle is similar to a corn maze. Lots of avenues and turns. And around every corner is something new. They also had an ice slide that was incredible. And a little concessions stand where you could get a nice hot chocolate. If you're in for a little added adventure, you can also go on a horse drawn sleigh ride. We did however think the price was a little high, especially for families with children. Our tickets were $18 in advance. Just keep in mind that the Woodstock area doesn't have a lot to offer in the winter except skiing and snowmobiling. It's an experience everyone should treat themselves to at least once in a life time if you live in New England. Just dress warm, make sure you have good boots, a hat and mittens. Enjoy.

This is something you have to do! The ice bar was awesome and had a pretty good selection of beverages and beers! If I had to think of one negative it’s that this place can get super SLIPPERY. We saw many people fall and had a few close calls ourself so wear sturdy shoes and very young and older visitors probably need to use extra caution. We went twice during our stay because it was so fun.

Visited here with my significant other and had an amazing time. We loved it overall. The night we went it had been snowing all day and the roads were pretty bad so we got there a little early (our ticket time was 6:30 and we got there about 5:30) we were turned away from the parking lot and were told we could come back at 6 so we just hung out down the street for 30 min until we could come back. It wasn’t very crowded and there were porta-potty’s available when you first walk in, be advised they are chilly and the insides aren’t lit so use with caution... but if you gotta go, you gotta go.
The castle itself is pretty amazing and we got to talk to a couple of the castle builders while we were there about the whole process which was awesome. We crawled through child sized tunnels, slide down the ice slide, sat in the ice thrown and drank hot chocolate to wash down the cinnamon buns on an ice table. (Hot chocolate was $4 the cinnamon bun was $6 and they also had a couple other snacks available, pretzels and cookies I believe).
Overall a great experience and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Nicely designed and wonderful Ice Castles. Sleigh ride was an extra $20. It was about a 10 minute ride. I wished it was longer.

Went on a family trip from maine to see ice castles and stay in a hotel for the night. We had a group of 17 Ice castle decided to change the time on tickets to night time which was fine as long as we still got to go. My family all got in at night and my party of 4 didn't get approved to go at night. So my grand kids did not get to go while the rest of family did. I was very dissapointed and the kids i had with me we're devastated. We made the best of it but that was just wrong on your part to do this to them. thumbs down to u all

This was my first time visiting the ice castle. I was VERY impressed! Dress warm! It was -9. I recommend a ski mask and many layers! We went at night and it was truly stunning. The ice is lit up with many different colors. There are a lot of kids there so If your not a patient person, you may want to find something else to do. Otherwise I highly recommend and plan on making this a yearly event!

Went up for a short trip from CT- worth the drive! Wear boots, gloves and take pictures! Slide was fun and wasn't a long wait

I finally made my way to the Ice Castles this past weekend. You won’t need more than two hours for sure. Dress warm and you will enjoy.
FYI. Road to parking lot was EXTREMELY Muddy, parking lot was a total mud bog. After that, you have to walk from your car to the front gate through all that mud, which unfortunately for us, we were the last car in the row. I know this is not something they can really control but it was upsetting to see as the first thing at the Ice Castles. Once we got in it was beautiful! We walked around, took some pictures, and warmed up by the fire. Overall I thought the ice castles were beautiful.

This was my first time and it was amazing. It was much bigger than we thought it was going to be. The staff was so helpful.

Amazing experience in NH. We had the 830 slot and stayed until 1030. Parking and admission were very smooth. Sleigh ride was great, my eight yr old who loves horses was over the moon. Make sure your boots have tread, my sperrys did not and I was sliding a-little. If you go into the tunnels where you have to crawl, make sure you’re wearing thick snow or ski pants….icy and kills your knees. In some areas it’s hard to walk, but to be expected, so be prepared. We saw people rolling their ankles. Gloves and good boots are a must. Tubing was so fast and so much fun. Got some beautiful pics. I was surprised at the lack of variety in the gift shop, only stuffed animals and apparel….unless we went too late? Will go again next year but probably earlier time slot.

We were torn between a 4 or a 5. It's cool. Not like the most spectacular thing in the world but we enjoyed it. We wouldn't go on a weekend because crowd would definitely make it less enjoyable. We did the 6pm slot on a weekday. Not too crowded and nice too explore the area. They have an ice slide that was fun (for adults too!) and a cute ice bench to take photos on. *Wear snow pants like their website suggests if you want to go on the slide. You slide on a little map but you'll get wet if you're wearing jeans. Fun to take pics of all the ice and they have hot choc and cinnamon bun areas, with fires to warm up - luckily when we went it was in the 30s and didn't feel cold. Price definitely reasonable. You can stay as long as you want when you get in - we ended up staying around 45 mins. Looked like the kids there had a lot of fun!

well worth the money, we were there for about 2hrs, would recommend coming at night to see the colored lighting

Tucked away in northern New Hampshire, with numerous small towns with quaint shops small businesses, this evening event has a romantic vibe, even amongst families and crowds. Worth looking online for discount codes and a place to stay over if you're not a local.

This place was amazing! It was much more crowded than I expected but they did well with crowd control. The ice castles were gorgeous, the snow tubing was a lot of fun. I didn’t think the sleigh ride was worth the price, but it was fun. The ice slides were small but fun, especially for a 40 something year old (when was the last time you rode a slide?) It was a whopping 6° outside so we wore full ski gear and had hand and toe warmers so we were fine. It’s a bit Disney-esque where you have to pay for a photo, they walk you through the gift shop to exit, and the hot cocoa was $4.50 for a small cup, plus tip which seemed a bit expensive for the size.
Still, the ice castles made for amazing photos and I cant wait to go back.

We visited the Ice Castle on Martin Luther King Weekend. We had a 4:30 arrival time so it was light for a bit. Lots and lots of kids with little adult supervision. The kid crowd did lessen around 6 pm and it was less crowded. We enjoyed the castle a lot , but with that in mind I would not travel a long distance to attend. A few pointers - have a later arrival time, it is a short event so plan on 1-1.5 hrs . We had a difficult time finding a hotel. Maybe due to the long weekend so plan ahead. Over all we enjoyed it, would not go every year but maybe every other.

I've wanted to see the ice castles for a while and was glad we were able to finally go. Because of the warm winter, we were nervous they were going to have to close (the night we went was upper 30s and it rained during the day). While the parking lot was super muddy, the ice castles themselves were great. Because it wasn't too cold that night, we were able to stay for about 3 hours. The kids loved the kid area the most, with the tunnels and igloos they could climb through as well as the small slides. We all enjoyed walking through the ice castles and going down the larger slides. At night, the castles were lit up different colors and were beautiful. We all enjoyed the sleigh ride. We also enjoyed the walk through the winter wonderland, which was lit up with pretty lights (adults liked this more than the kids - the kids just wanted to get back to the play area). We don't think this is something you have to go back to every year but we were really glad we visited and would recommend it to others.

Disappointing, My family has been to prior year events, this one fails in comparison. Although this year is more spread out and had a lighted walking path, it lacks any WOW factor. The ice displays are not memorable. The overlook from the ice featrue had a magnificent view of the porta potties, etc... no need to elaborate...

We just came back from our visit to Ice Castles. If you are hesitant, don’t be. GO! What a fun time. We did the tubing, ice sledding and just general walking around . So beautiful. Enjoy!

My friend and I went wine tasting and then ended the evening at the Ice castles! The transition from day to night is absolutely amazing, and the lights and design are gorgeous. Definitely a great opportunity for photos! The slide was super fun and all the kiddos around us were having a blast. Definitely recommend!

We were very impressed on our first visit. The staff on hand we very organized and provided a great experience considering the volume of visitors. Great job guys and girls! We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to visit again.

So take layers of dripped water over time creating ice sculptures and imbed lighting and tunnels and ice slides and you experience beauty and fun all at once! Everyone was smiling!!! If you want to be happy - experience Ice Castles and take the kids if you have them (or rent some kids) to see their smiles. Slide down the slide with them and feel your inner child come alive once again!!!

This was our very first time to the Ice Castles. First off - do dress warmly! Secondly - this is NOT a big attraction. We took our time to explore all of the nooks and only took under an hour. The castles are beautiful and kids sure have fun! Note- there is no food except for hot chocolate and cookies. The hot chocolate did not taste good at all but the cookies were super!

We visited the Ice Castles on opening weekend January 2023 (we didn't plan for it to be opening weekend, but weather made it open a week late). My kids are ages 6 and 9, which I felt like was great ages to go. They enjoyed the small slides and LOVED the big slide. They loved walking around and checking it all out. That said, the whole experience was way too crowded. The parking was crazy and they had people "helping" but those people literally sent us to the front rows of the parking lot and then were like "no try up in the hill, but we don't know if there will be a space there." Um thanks? I'd rather just find my own spot and walk. Once inside we headed to our sleigh ride we paid (a LOT) extra for. It was not the sleigh ride I pictured at all, more like a hayride in the snow with horses instead of a tractor. It was short and we waited 45+ minutes in line to do it. Definitely would not recommend. The big slide at the castle was also a long wait, probably 30 minutes. We LOVED the slide and it was worth it, but would've been more fun if we could've done it a couple of times. We didn't get to do the walk in the woods or the tubing because by the time we had done the other things we had already been there over 2 hours and were hungry for dinner. If I were doing it again, I would really try to go on a weeknight (obvious, but taking off work isn't easy), skip the sleigh ride and maybe go earlier in the day. It was cool to see it lit up, but I think the kids wouldn't have cared about the lights if they got to do the slide a few more times.

I commend the creators of Ice Castles but just wasn’t impressed. It was the same thing over and over again. Too crowded, I might add. We didn’t stay long. Too expensive, as well. Money is better spent for live music or dinner.

When they announced moving to a new larger location, I was pretty excited. Last year was awesome. This year location was great but same designs it seemed and just spread out. The slides were bigger. Had to pay extra for horse ride. It was OK but not great this year.

Took the Grandkids, 2 and 6, at around 6pm. The lights were beautiful. The 2 year old didn't know what was going on until he saw folks coming down the slide. Then he was all in. We were in and out about an hour. Great ice. Great photos.

Looked great on-line, very underwhelming in person. Parking was abysmal. 45 minute wait for the slide, and this was with reservations! There was a very expensive snack stand to further drain your pockets while you wander aimlessly amid a few walls of ice with colored lights under them.
Save your money and your time. Avoid this one.

The ice walls were cool formations but Castle is not a good description. We did love the ice slide and went twice. I was surprised at the tiny hot chocolate for the $4 price and it was not super good. The cinnamon buns were delicious. Liked the fire pits to warm our hands. They dont allow re-entry but all of their porta johns are on the outside. The sleigh ride is another $15. If. It were included I would say the admission price was worth it. Glad I went to see, dont need to go back. Our feet were frozen in our snowboots, the floor is ice cubes and snow and hard to walk in.

I was apprehensive about this attraction. We drove almost 6 hours to see this and I was concerned it was going to be anti-climactic. I WAS WRONG. We had a blast! The structure is so impressive and fun to walk through. There is plenty to see and do. It was worth the wait for the picture in the ice chair, and the long double ice slide. The snacks were warm and perfect. The staff was friendly. Make sure you buy your tickets in advance. We saw people being turned away because it was sold out. Be sure to arrive during your purchased time slot, you can stay as long as you'd like once you are inside. Dress appropriately. It can be cold if you stand still, you should bring a hat and gloves and were snow boots, you will be grateful for the traction.

The entrance looks unassuming but behind it is a large maze of ice walls and arches. There are tunnels and cracks for kids to crawl through. Ice sculptures on a hill up above the main area. Ice chair to sit in and a fun fountain. Firepits to warm your hands. It is very pretty with the lights at night. Really cool looking slide but very long line so did not do that. Souvenir photo not interesting and expensive. We stayed an hour and enjoyed every minute.

Good music, but Highly overrated. Standby tickets are extortion. Horrible Bumpy roads to get in and could use a 3-4 year old slide with plastic provided so little ones pants don't get wet.

We go yearly..fun family event...just so pretty...dress warm..but your entire family will love this winter adventure
A bit overrated
We had reservations and still had to wait in line with everyone else. Not too sure the point of it. Nice to do once but would not go again. Very crowded.
