Beautiful River Community

By Maureen |

I am totally bias - I love Lake Havasu City. Plenty to see and do if you like all things water. They have some lovely bars/restaurants that are not necessarily part of any big chains. Not that there is anything wrong with chain restaurants - I do love a Denny's. Lake Havasu City is so clean. Nice green open spaces and depending where you stay quite walkable. I love coming across all their little lighthouses.

Perfect Temperatures to escape the winter blues

By thevisitor560 |

Leaving the snow behind for Lake Havasu was the perfect prescription for the Idaho winter blues. With fantastic food and microbrews in Lake Havasu, coupled with the London Bridge history makes it the perfect winter destination.

Great place to visit! Good for swimming, boating, fishing, or wandering around enjoying the views.

By J0hnJ0an |

Seems like a very popular place for people into boating, but we enjoyed just walking around and taking a boat tour. Reasonable prices and generally friendly people. Fun way to spend a day or two, but since I'm not a boater, probably don't need to return. Oh yeah, apparently a hot spot during spring break, so if you don't want any of that, avoid March!

Beautiful lake in the desert!

By LismoreLakeSue |

Stop and see this Lake!! It is worth the side trip to visit this city. Lovely scenes by the lake. Great park for dogs, and for walking along the river walk.

Beautiful Lake in the Southwest

By Roger S |

Lake Havasu is a fairly large lake for the area and is part of the Colorado River. It is a clear and clean lake. Great for all sorts of water sports, boating and fishing.

Fun

By paws0810 |

A great place to see and visit. Although it is winter time today the weather was crummy we will go on a pontoon boat tomorrow. And take a walk around the lake it is a very nice area.

IF FRESH WATER POWER BOATING IS YOUR THING, THEN YOU WILL WANT TO CHECK OUT LAKE HAVASU...

By Jeff B |

Florida has their inland waterways and Key West, while the South West has Lake Havasu. Like Florida, Lake Havasu has become THE BOATING MECCA for the southwest & Southern California. Yes, I am a boat-a-holic, and have been all my life. But Lake Havasu has evolved since I first visited there in 1972 when the London Bridge was recently completed after being transported and re-constructed to form an Island out of a peninsula. IF you hate power boats, then you might not like it there. But if you are into fresh water power boating in "international waters" with beautiful sights, then this is the place to be. About 15 - 20 miles up river you will be driving your boat through the Topoc National Wildlife preserve and Topoc Gorge, which is almost like driving through the Grand canyon. This in itself is worth the trip, in my opinion. There is much I could say about Lake Havasu and the Colorado River, but I will leave it at this: IF you are into High performance power boating on the west coast, it simply does not get any better than this!

Fun for all ages

By travlgal52 |

Just saw the lighted boat parade on the river by the English Channel. Over 65 boats floated by all decked out in their holiday splendor. Awesome!!!

Breathtaking views of the ragged mountains, blue waters and wild life!

By Sally Thoe Downs |

On our recent trip to see our cousins who were vacationing in Lake Havasu, we were treated to a boat ride with breathtaking views of the lake, Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, jagged rock formations such as Devil’s Elbow as Butch our cousin piloted the boat up the Colorado River and through Topock Gorge. We were told to be on the lookout for Desert Bighorn sheep, wild burros (donkeys), camels and other native wildlife along the way. Luck was with us when we caught the Grebes lining up in the blue waters and a few Burros grazing on the harsh dry grounds at the slopes of the mountains. We did the cruise under London Bridge last year and found the ride to Topock Gorge to be more scenic. A well deserving day to spend at Lake Havasu!

Checking out what Havasu offers

By jaeatloz |

Have read about Havasu being a popular retirement area and wanted to give it a look. Over 50k population. Built on Laje Havasu. It offers about everything one might need - shopping offers the normal chains and specialty stores for clothing, home, hardware, auto, plenty of dining choices, movie theaters.. Lake Havasu is beautiful, with several resorts, public beach swim areas, marinas. With all the water sports available, there are plenty of businesses to support the activities - boats, etc. Of course, Golf is available, too. It is a very clean town. Because of the influx of snowbirds, I think it could be pretty crowded during the winter months. If you like desert heat and terrain, then it could be the place to go in the summer.

Lake Havasu City

By Jami M |

Great place to visit or live. Family friendly, lots to see, do, eat, play. Bring water or desert toys, and the family! Resonable accommodations all along the lake, miles and miles of beaches, plenty of restaurants, or grocery stores to load the ice chest.
There are also vacation homes for rent, some with pools, if the lake scene isn't for you.

Nice scenery

By Grant S |

Spent the day there yesterday, found a flea market/swap meet which had a ton of things for sale. The mountains are beautiful to look at and the city is very nice and clean.

Warm get away

By carolann822 |

Lovely place to come to especially after surviving a three foot snowfall back home. Peaceful and clean looking as well.

fantastic fireworks in February

By maryhP9968CK |

Every February for many years the Pyrotechnic Show has been there, the fireworks are wonderful, like you haven't seen before. We have stayed in RV in the rodeo grounds which offers a good price , water accessible, dump station available or pumpers come around daily as needed.. The show is clearly visible from the rodeo grounds we have had front row parking for the past several years. The staff at the rodeo grounds are wonderful.

Gorgeous

By Tanya B |

The lake is several miles long, I highly recommend taking a boat tour, renting a boat, sea do, paddle boarding whichever is your thing... this lake is beautiful drive. Go south to Parker as well.

Best day ever!

By Denise F |

The staff is amazing every employee had such a great personality care about there guests and are looking for the next step they “take initiative” even though they were hurting for staff so many of them cared about there property. I had an amazing wedding at a Hampton Inn not even I would have thought it would be such a beautiful memorable day.

Nice Lake, but....

By Momads2 |

It's Party City & then there is No Speed or Size restrictions on boats so there is Constant noise & traffic! A little bit of legal restraint would be an improvement. The City could also consider running a boat service to deliver people to & from the many nice but Boat Access Only campsites along the lake's shores...

Wow! We have beautiful mountains in NH, but this lake is breathtaking.

By Kathi M |

We got to see Copper Canyon and the Gorge with someone that lives in the area. Holy, Wow! Loved it. Took so many pictures, my phone went dead about half way through the trip. This is a must see! We have seen the Grand Canyon. This is different because you are in the water looking up, not on a ledge looking down.

Great outdoor fun area

By James P |

Very interesting area to visit in Arizona. Great story about the purchase and relocation of the historic bridge.

What a great area with boating, hiking, golfing, hot rod shows, off roading and so much more.

Nice city

By Hans |

This city has except the lake another highlight and that is of course the London Bridge. Bought on an auction and shipped to the US. After the Grand Canyon this is the most photographed object in Arizona. The English village is nice. Most people come for the water with rented or own boats.

We will be back

By M3113VObradc |

We have been touring many places to go during the winter when retired. Lake Havasu City definitely will be one of those cities we return to. It is beautiful with the river, the rocks, the river. We can't wait to return.

beautiful clear lake

By 73travelbug65 |

spent a day on friends boat. they took us to all parts of the lake
it was during the week so it wasn't crowded and we had plenty of spots to anchor
beautiful clear water nice day trip

Beautiful place but too noisy

By iLizzy99 |

Lake havasu is such a lovely place, but I couldn't enjoy it because there is so much noise there.
The noise is mainly caused by the Exhaust pipes of the motor boats. But also by music played in the boats in high volume.

Love looking for the replica lighthouses around the lake.

By jackiekay |

This is a very nice lake. It is a little low on water because Arizona has been in a drought for several years. There is plenty to do in and around the lake too.

London Bridge

By mark r |

I've been here many times and it is one cool city. There is always something going on each week. The options of things to do is endless from fishing competition, boat races, old cars each week on main street, to hot air ballon festivals and winter blast which is a 4 day long fire works display each night.

water sports

By Alexandra T |

There are lots of ways to play at Lake Havasu. Kayak, water ski, boat, jet ski or just sit on a beach chair and enjoy the cool water.

Top way to spend a beautiful evening!

By ba20172017 |

Sunset Charter & Tour Co, Lake Havasu. Our family (6 - 4 adults and 2 eleven year olds) took the 90 sunset cruise in late October. Our captain was just wonderful - knowledgable, helpful and what a beautiful and special evening it was. A great beginning to the trip as we had a real feel for the river, the lake and the bridge in both sun light and darkness. We stayed at the London Bridge Resort and it too was just great. This site was too difficult to work in to post many reviews but I felt this sunset tour was so good it was worth the effort.

Pleasant

By Sandy817 |

We went to see the London Bridge but also enjoyed watching the many tourist boats that leave from the channel below the bridge. The lake is lovely and there are quite a few beaches & state parks along the shore plus many RV parks. The town itself seems to be thriving primarily on tourism. We would have liked to do some hiking, but we were there in the middle of the day and it was too hot.

Best food in Lake Havasu Arizona

By PJB999 |

This is not a “fast food “ restaurant,it is a “great food “ breakfast-lunch and dinner restaurant. Fresh food cooked and served in amounts that leave a person full and satisfied. Today (Friday) I had a large bowl of Clam Chowder and Kathy ordered the Southwestern Cobb Salad. See attached pictures. Mike also allowed me to use his photo. Mr B the owner came around to visit and check on the food and service as he often does. This is a great place to eat , Our Favorite!!

Pretty Town!!

By mauricio g |

Lake Havasu it's a Great Place Clean and vibrant London Bridge adds a lot of personality to the town well taken care in General.
The Lake it's clean with plenty of beaches and parks to go we were in a off peak season so it was quiet and not crowded I'm sure during peak and spring time get crowded cause it's such a nice place I'm sure.
Only comment Local people not as friendly as in other places in AZ here find everyone not polite very indifferent almost rude I guess they are sick and tired of seeing guys like us sightseeing asking silly questions!
Anyway nice Town and Safe toooooo

Fun destination

By Mrs.Coop |

I wish we could have stayed longer than a day. Do not go on a holiday weekend. We did and it was so busy!!! Still giving 5 stars because I loved the lake itself!!!

Great place to retire

By Linda B |

We've owned a home here for 4 years and just moved here permanently a year ago. LOVE IT!!!! Always lot of things to see & do. Friendly town. Can do outdoor activities year round.

City not worth visiting

By ATI |

The bridge is just a tourist gimmick. It is a flat bridge with arches underneath. If you did not hear it came from London, it is unimpressive. The city is also a speed trap. Police prey on tourists. Visit Lake Mead instead for water activities.

Cool 😎

By Kimberly O |

A lake in the middle of the desert 🏜. Pretty amazing. Tourist boats are available. Awesome town and everything is fresh and new. Obviously a snowbird community. Clean. Everything you need. Seadoos available as well as boats or boat rides.

Water Oasis in the Desert

By 738Susie |

Getting to Lake Havasu takes some thought. Enjoying an over night stay was easy in February. Truely in the middle of nowhere, a beautiful large lake has been created on the Colorado River. Temperatures in the summer months are 110 or above. Go in the other months and soak up the winter Arizona sun. Not for everyone. Spring break is for the students. Very small town and very isolated. Probably good for RV's. We saw a lot of those.

DoDo Memorial ride 2024

By Jeff M |

Our adventure out in the desert was fantastic! The Can Am side by side ran perfect and we were able to to make our route through Standard Wash & Mojave wash in very good time.

Around the Beach

By John Z |

Lots of stuff (boat tours/rentals, restaurants, boardwalk, visitor centre, shops) around the bridge - interesting piece of history and tourist activities...

Quartzsite to Lake Havasu

By Phil V |

Took a ride from Quartzsite to Lake Havasu, beautiful ride from flat desert to red rock mountains to get to The London Bridge. A lot to do in this area.

Buyers Beware! Selling fake Sterling Silver Jewelry

By Kerry D |

Buyers Beware! They are selling fake "sterling silver" jewelry. I purchased a bracelet for my sisters' birthday in March while visiting Lake Havasu. She can only wear sterling or gold jewelry, otherwise she has a bad reaction to other metals. It was marked "sterling 925" and looked Native American style with turquoise stones. The price was a little high for sterling, but I bought it anyways. After wearing it for a few months, she got a nasty rash around her wrist. She took the bracelet to her jeweler, and he tested it. It was NOT sterling silver 925, but a cheap silver plated bracelet.

unbelievable

By fcrane35 |

Hard to believe you are in the desert. Gorgeous and so many lake activities. Took a cruise and enjoyed every minute

Little big town

By AXA Dave |

By far,one of the coolest lakes around. There is so much to do and see that one day doesn’t cut it. Make sure to plan for a weekend

A favorite winter get away.

By crzywestiewomyn |

This was our second month long stay in Lake Havasu during the winter. We had an excellent location near restaurants, shopping, a yoga studio, and a walking track. I could even walk to the London Bridge but didn't need to be in a crowded area. There is so much to do in Lake Havasu and I am sure we will be back again.

London Bridge

By Judith S |

This is an awesome place to visit. The City shows off this bridge to its full potential. Viewing it from some of the local restaurants with awesome landscaping and fountains is beautiful. Or just strolling under this massive structure is a sight to behold.

Beautiful Lake Community

By DLP |

Beach people from New Jersey here and we loved Lake Havasu. It was 117 degrees when we were there but you have the water to help with the heat and all establishments are air conditioned. The area.....the scenery is beautiful. Very clean Community with very friendly people and lots to do!

Mudsharks Bar and Restaurant Fun

By Dennis N |

Located near London Bridge, Mudsharks offers fine food, drinks, and music in a family setting, indoor and outdoor. Friendly staff and excellent microbrews at decent prices. A lager and a stout with a huge Cobb salad (which serves two) was my choice.

Chasing the Sun

By ki0ki |

This is a great place to winter even if this was a cold winter (2019) it never dropped below freezing at night. Still 50s-60s daytime. Today its 76. Last night 58 in March. Many events every weekend. Lots to see and do for a little Colorado River town.

Something for everyone

By Ken84770 |

Never a bad time to visit even in the dead of summer. Just do more water sports. This town is one busy place with more great places to dine than almost anywhere in a town this size.

Fun times

By Grace A |

We had never been to Lake Havasu and already look forward to our next visit. They have done a wonderful job with walk ways along the river and the parks are excellent with lots of area for kids to play and adults to enjoy. Some of the parks even have dog runs. There are a lot of ATV trails and the town seems to be ATV friendly. There are also boat rides and places you can rent boats. There is enough to keep you busy for a number of days or if you stay at the right hotel you can just do nothing other than enjoy the resort.

Pretty nice!

By Wyogunrunner |

Sweet lake. We went in January and it was a little cold to swim but still very nice. Bring a map. It’s long so be aware. It has lots of bathrooms and camping/picnic areas.

Great place to rent a boat !

By Victor B |

Great place to rent a boat in Lake Havasu AZ. Good prices and friendly people. Be sure to take “close up” photos of your propeller before you leave so there is no question about any damage when you return the boat. Also, remember to raise that engine as you approach the shore and the boat trailer. Just abide by al the rules and respect the equipment and you will have an amazing day and rental experience!
VictorB

Well worth the water day activities.

By Ronald B |

A great place to visit and to cool down from the LHC heat. We rented a ski boat and a SeaDoo to enhance our day. Well worth the expenditure and kept everyone busy all day long. Arriving early to Rotary Park allows a prime spot to set up for the day right next to the water and with pavilion covered picnic tables. Riding through the channel was an experience watching all the people watching all the people.

Rude Boaters

By Dale W |

As a kayaker, I have kayaked all kinds of lakes and other places. Even though there are wonderful places to launch from on this lake the boater are just rude not looking out for kayakers or other paddlers. If you do not have a big noisy power boat you are looked down on as if you are a second class citizen.
This is not to say there is not a lot of wonderful places to paddle. There are, however be prepared for large wakes and boaters who are not looking out for you.

A good place to get away from winter

By lunamoon51 |

A nice place to play golf and get away from the winters. We rented a home for two months and played at the London bridge golf courses. My husband and I enjoyed staying in this small town. The people were friendly and the weather great

weekend camping in the area

By John G |

One day visit would be enough. Great place fir young partiers. Crossed the lake to the CA side to visit a casino. Small but fun

We love Havasu

By jessiecardenas10 |

The city not too big and not too small and everyone is very friendly. We love taking the fairy out especially at night with all the city lights shining bright. Kevea juice is one of our favorite places to get out morning and afternoon juices. The butterfly sanctuary is beautiful and peaceful. This time of the year is perfect weather but during the summer is scorching hot and the last summer trip we were there it hit 117 degrees. But over all there is always something new to discover here. Next trip parasailing

Solo camping

By vascodegramma |

There is a lovely State Park in town on the lake and lots of BLM property just outside town. I camped in my small RV in both places. Both worked well for me. This was a nice warm place to be when most of the country was affected by a bomb cyclone. There were many fun things to do on the water & on dry land. I even went to the Afternoon Tea at the London Bridge Resort and rode the ferry to the casino on the California side of the lake. Both offered Inexpensive entertainment. And the walking tour of the bridge was informative & entertaining.

Boating and fishing

By RNRWanderings |

Best of the best.its so beautiful and the covers restrooms etc are kept so nice ! Restrooms are clean. Fishing is fun. Swimming is great. I can't say enough about the Lake.i love it here!

Birthday Celebration

By mrsarbee |

I try to visit 2 or more times a year. I always have a great time. If possible get out on the water any way you can. I now use a kayak. Lake Havasu is great for all water sports and activities. There are also many hiking trails close to the lake and out in the desert. Lake Havasu is home to the famous London Bridge.

I've been here for 2 weeks...

By Loouis S |

Although its not for vacation but work at a local power plant. Nice place not to crazy about the +105F heat but decent place to visit.

Beautiful

By Jim O |

We have been here for 3 weeks. Amazing city. The founding fathers really have their act together. The water and the surrounding desert is awesome. Looking forward to returning.

Family vacation

By Robin O |

We traveled from no taba to enjoy a family vacation. The resorts, water, pools, so no g were.all great. We can't wait to come.back next year.

One of a kind location and experience

By Dana Los Angeles |

Lake Havasu is a one of a kind experience like no other, set in the desert and fed with beautiful water as a result of the Colorado River and modern engineering that brings water to millions.

So much nicer than I had imagined.

By Pip18Wisconsin |

We had never been to Lake Havasu and I had heard years ago that it was really tacky-- along with London Bridge. We were pleasantly surprised. Our friend gave us a tour of the area along with the condo she was renting on a golf course. She had a lovely view of both the course and the water. The city seemed quite vibrant and it had a real downtown --- old but looked great. Lots of restaurants, nice walking path on the water, nice weather. Would go back.

Great place to visit

By Bob B |

In the off season Lake Havasu is a relaxing, picturesque town. Nice shopping and lots to do and see.

Summertime Lake Havasu

By David C |

First visit to the lake, boating trip with family. Beautiful lake and wonderful experience. The only caveat is the crowded nature of the lake on weekends. If you don’t like heavy boat traffic I’d suggest going during weekdays.

this n that at lake havasu city - quality inn

By Jan A |

Awesome trip all the way around. Adult disabled kids had a most wonderful time. We, as parents, were there for our 50th anniversary.

Warm place to be

By heeler123 |

Water very nice in April. Paddle boarding and biking. Everyone so friendly. Love the 90+ degree weather. Camped at Sam's rv resort, right by the water. Dog friendly.

Never again

By Vanessa A |

I would not recommend this area to Latino families. I went on a family trip with my immediate family. We were 8 adults and 5 children, most of which were under the age of 7. We rented a VRBO to stay in. The reviews looked great until we arrived. When we entered the home it had sticky floors, Sticky counter tops and stained bedding. The tub had a black ring as well. We contacted the renter and they seemed apologetic and tried to resolved the situation by sending out a maid and ordering a new comforter. The maid only superficially cleaned. We decided to the head out to the London Bridge to rent JetSki’s for the men to take the kids out. We went to Champion Rentals and they refused to rent to us, they judgmentally stated, they knew by renting to us, their jet skis would come back broken. We were then rudely directed to “the Italians with the accents.” Saying maybe they would rent to us. We then decided to stay within our rental home for the rest of our stay, due to how uncomfortable we felt. During that stay we came across a mouse in our rental and a roach at the pool. We dealt with the situations as we didn’t want to make a fuss. As our family usually does at the end of a stay we washed all dishes , gathered all towels, threw away all trash , swept and vacuumed. On our drive home the owner then accused us of damaging their property , leaving their house a mess and purposely planting a mouse in their home. We were in disbelief and completely offended. We then we’re charged over $500 , for damages we had notified the owner of when we arrived !!! This is just a summary of our experience. We definitely will never go back. Our family trip and memories were completely ruined .

A lot to explore in a beautiful setting!

By Nancy B |

On or off the water, Havasu is a great place for recreation! Great trails for off-road. Beautiful campsites for boaters. Walking, biking, hiking, boating or chilling. Great spot!

Fun family time

By Brittany Waters |

Got away with my family for a few days. Stayed in the state park cabins. I highly recommend for people who enjoy some camping but don't necessarily want to tent. The lake is beautiful. Water was clear. No luck fishing. However we were having too much fun playing to focus on the fishing. Probably better luck going farther north or south. The London bridge is beautiful and eerie. Lots to do as far as water activities, water sports rentals, eateries. I can't wait to cone back. Arizona is my home and it never disappoints.

Favorite desert spot

By ki0ki |

Lake Havasu is a year round travel destination. They have planned activities almost every weekend year round. Beautiful weather during the fall, winter and spring. Summer is a little unbearable but that is what the water is for...swimming, boating, boarding, jet skiing. Just might have to move here someday.

First time visit

By SandraAl |

I wasn't sure what to expect, but whatever it was it beat all expectations. We stayed at the London Bridge Resort so we were easily accessible to enough things we didn't need to get in the car. The city is clean without many homeless and we saw no graffiti which is something after coming from LA.! If you are a water enthusiast this is heaven! There are boats of every type and very easy to rent. While it appeared to us that most of the residents are seniors, there seemed to be children's play equipment and activities at every turn. If you like the outdoors, this place can't be beat. We were disappointed we couldn't stay longer! So much to do we didn't even put a dent in our wish list.

Stunning

By Matthew C |

What a beautiful lake. It is a large lake with stunning views of mountains and great little coves to pull off into

Beautiful

By Aurora |

When I'm on Lake Havasu, it is one of the most beautiful places i've ever seen. Even though I felt like I was either 20 years too old, or 20 years too young to be here.....everyone was so nice to us and treated us so well.

Just a few hours to wander

By rhitman32 |

We spent 3-4 hours in town. We started with the visitors' center/museum and wandered through some of the shops under the bridge, then drove across the bridge and around the island. It was windy and a bit cold so we did not take any tours. The town has grown tremendously since we were there many years ago. Most activities center around the river/the beaches.

!st time

By Loouis S |

Impressive place, scenery is something else. Very unique destination and well worth the time to visit.

Great sunny location with plenty to do.

By Simon N |

I rode into town on a Harley during the town's one day of rain a year! But hey, I loved it anyway. London bridge is a great and novel way to bring curious visitors in. And I came from London!

By Sandi G |

Lake Havasu offers everything you need to enjoy your winter stay. The lake, no need to bring your toys plenty available for a day on the lake or a relaxing sunset cruise. Spend a day in the mountains. Rent an ranger and head to the trail for a fun day in the sun. Evening comes head down town to live music at the bars. Need a place to eat, great food at Juicy's and Black Bear. Happy hour everyday all over the city. Come to any restaurant, bar in town sit awhile and you will make new friends. Super friendly town. Check out the weekly White Pages paper for all you entertainment needs, open houses and of course their weekly garage sales. The paper is free and has all the info you need for your stay in Havasu

dry and warm, and not for everyone

By Al J |

We have been going to the Havasu and Parker area for over 30 years. Look at property in the late 80's but was not ready to have an extra home. We are RV people. If you look around you will notice almost all the houses have RV parking. It has an older population, good doctors and hospitals. It also has most of the major supermarkets, Walmart, and DIY stores. As most desert dwellers know, summer time can get hot. The demographics shows older, conservative, retired and happy people.

Beautiful Oasis in the Desert

By Susan H |

Lake Havasu is beautiful. There are many places to stop and view this lake as well as hotels, shops, restaurants, and numerous water activities offered. It is definitely a vacation spot.

Fun walk

By RNRWanderings |

There are cute shops by the bridge, restaurants that are fun along the lake, walk the channel for a nice view!

One of my Fav Spots

By INDYdianald |

I love Lake Havasu. Great scenic views of the lake, river, and mountains. Great walking areas as well as hiking opportunities. Shopping and restaurants available. Winter is a great time to visit for some nice warm weather.

Fun oasis in the desert

By timothyk559 |

London Bridge is a easy walk from motels and is home to fun resturant and shops. The dog park nearby is very nice and a morning walk along the channel is pleasant.

Lake Havasu City, AZ is a wonderful place to bring the family.

By randy h |

There is so much to do. In January they have a full calendar of events, starting with the Hot Air Balloon Festival. Were there are lots of balloons in the air along with a lot of other things to do. The Desert Bar is open. This is a nice drive into the desert where there is music, dancing and off-roading. There are way to many events to list. Lets just say you won't be bored.

Just Another Tourist Grind

By SueFromWinnipeg |

We were looking forward to visiting Lake Havasu City because of the stories we have heard about this lovely place. Unfortunately, it's just another rude, crude, tourist gouging dot on the map that disappoints on every level. It has less integrity than Los Vegas (if that is even possible) but lacks all the amazing lights.

Roads are crowded and, if that's not enough, crowded with some of worst drivers that you will find. Entering this tourist trap and being endlessly cut off, cut out, and generally put in danger sets the stage for every activity thereafter.

London Bridge is a highlight amongst the rest of the pointless nonsense and that has value only because it comes from somewhere else. The rest of the town is occupied with all the normal tourist claptrap along with huge operations catering to the boating crowd. I shudder at what the waterways must be like after experiencing what happens on the roadways where there theoretically are a few rules.

Clearly an unhappy town populated with locals who seem to despise outsiders and visitors who are getting life lessons on how poorly outsiders can be treated.

The best part of this place are the roads out of town and we certainly enjoyed ours.

Not fun, not pleasant, not recommended, and hardly worth a review except to offer caution if I can.

A Rhetorical Why?

By stellah j |

The lake vistas of Havasu & the Colorado River are spectacular; yet, the unkindness of my fellow white citizens/tourists towards fellow non-white citizens/tourists makes one wonder if THEY (us whites) can truly enjoy the beauty of the picturesque surroundings. As morally practical professionals, my husband & I are global travelers & have encountered myriad questionable situations. After witnessing several episodes of overt, spiteful behavior from my people towards non-whites in Lake Havasu, AZ, in May 2025, it saddened me somewhat but made me ponder the question: WHY?

One would think that on a beautiful Saturday afternoon with a gorgeous lake setting, soaking up the sun, tunes, & adult beverages, there'd be no room for ill-will towards anyone.

Why the hostility? Is it political or personal? It pains me that some of us default to spiteful & uncivilized behavior as the easy path of least resistance. Why are we still so easily triggered by non-whites? Why do some of us resort to & take pleasure in acting like puerile nitwits instead of mature, intelligent adults when dealing/interacting with nonwhites? Why do we still act as if we lack the common sense to treat others as we'd like to be treated? Which is what we ALL want, right?

Regardless, this review is for those who have read/heard negative things about Lake Havasu's local community. Make the journey to Havasu, ignore the miserableness of chronically small minds & enjoy yourself!

Lake Havasu Visit

By patriciahC1332TX |

Great place to visit. Lovely walkway around the river/channel. We were there for the Lake Havasu Baloon Festival and enjoyed touring the city as well as the festival.

Beautiful Lake with Loud Boats and Parties

By Archibald S |

Lakefront is magical weekday mornings without wind or power boats. Found fishing at the London Bridge inlet is good for LM Bass and Striped Bass on the Crazy Horse Campground next to the little lighthouse. Tranquil and pretty and clean water. Week day afternoons get some power boat activity and wind is up. Good entertainment. Weekends bring too many show off power boaters with OBNOXIOUS loud mufflers and risky speeders.

Quality Inn Hotel

By Jim K |

I booked a week stay at the quality inn hotel. The staff and hotel was excellent .. there morning free hot breakfast was very good and different offerings every day. The rooms were ok nothing special but very very clean and comfortable. I will stay here again on my next visit. I had to leave a couple of days early due to the Cordova pandemic that was shutting everything down. I had a none cancelable reservation and Audrey Hoyt the GM refunded me the days I had to cancel. It’s service and understanding of top employees that make you feel that people really do care about a persons best interest in a situation like this. Thank You Audrey. Jim K

Respite from the desert

By redrocker |

After a long dry very hot summer we spent A weekend at Lake Havasu City on the Colorado. It’s always welcome to be near water in the desert. Enjoyed the evening hike along the channel. The city itself is unremarkable. Definitely a boating community

First Time Visit

By LutzkaFamily |

We have been to Arizona several times. This was our first visit to this part of the state. We wanted to stay longer! We stayed at the London Bridge Resort that sits right on a nice walkway along the riverfront. We rented a speed boat and spent one full day on the water...would have loved to spend another day doing this as the lake is so much larger than we realized. Downtown area was under road construction, so we are glad we didn't need to do much there. We went hiking at Sara Park and had the kids do some batting practice as well. There was much more we could have done, but we ran out of time as we were off to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. I'm glad we found Lake Havasu!

Party Lake, Gasoline, Loud

By Janin |

There are tons of boats on the lake. These are super loud because of their motors, they all play different music and it stinks like gasoline everywhere. The swimming area was very small in our area as well.

This place is all about boat tours. Very sad.

Arizona's PLAYGROUND!

By Sally Thoe Downs |

If you are a fun seeker and a foodie who loves the sun and waters and dining, this is the place for you. Lake Havasu's deep clear waters is extremely popular for its abundance of water recreation and outdoor adventure. The landmark of the city and the lake is the London Bridge. The bridge originally built over the River Thames in London, England with its first granite stone was laid to the bridge in 1825. When it was discovered the bridge was sinking due to heavy traffic in 1962, the bridge was auctioned to Robert McCullock, the Founder of Lake Havasu City for $2,460,000 in 1968.

The entire bridge including its arches made of granite was moved to Lake Havasu and reassembled stone-by-stone. It now connects the city to an island in the lake that is home to a resort, restaurants and a golf course.

Spending 3 days and 2 nights here was truly enjoyable boating and fishing with our cousins on their platoon, dining in the many fine restaurants and hiking in one of their trails near a power plant about 4 miles away. The scenery of the mountain ridges and wild flowers were captivating at this time of the year. We will definite be back to enjoy more of its exceptional view of the lake and for a longer period of time.

Impressive scenery..

By 1957 |

Really impressed by this lake and the scenery. You can walk to the beach , stare at it from the London Bridge but the best way is to cruise ..they offer many different cruises and well worth it.

Amazing lake surrounded by desert

By pookybun p |

Quiet a large city and very popular with boat owners. It really is a water playground and a lovely spot to stop over.

Beautiful place, fantastic weather

By Brenda A |

Loved the river walk. The London Bridge Resort was a great place to stay. The resort offered an amazing breakfast special and I enjoyed the pool area. There were 3 pools and the one with the slide was where the kids wanted to be which left the other pools for the adults.

GREAT PONTOON RIDE

By OLD GUY |

STAYED NEAR THE LAKE FOR 6 DAYS AND HAD A VERY VERY GOOD TIME, our friends have a pontoon so we were treated to a 4 hour trip down the lake and river, such a perfect place if you are into enjoying the water, fun to see so many differant boats and yauts,,10 stars to the lake

Great place if you like boats and drinking

By KatVoight |

If you like boats and water sports and drinking this is the place for you. If not it’s pretty boring. Went and saw the London Bridge which was neat but only takes a small amount of time. The food is very subpar and for being a destination city I expected much better. Everyone is either young and drunk or old and retired and wintering here. As a 30 something I was very unimpressed. At least they are close to Route 66 and the cute little town of Oatman. Had never been to this part of the state so we figured we would give it a try but we won’t be coming back.

Disappointing Visit

By Stay744786 |

We traveled to Lake Havasu considering it for a retirement location, but for us, it has many strikes against it. First, the nearest major airport is 2.5 hours away and no major medical care. If you get into trouble medically, you need to have a life flight to Phoenix. Finally, it is a pretty basic little town, no real zoning in place, power lines everywhere, nice residential areas right next to industrial areas. If you are looking for an upscale area to retire, this is not for you.

Fantastic

By eduardops60 |

An absolutely beautiful hidden gem. Home of the original London Bridge. A fantastic lake with the dessert weather. Great place to visit.

First visit

By Ray J |

The area is nice. It is not big like lake mead, but not small either. I was told that this lake was good for fishing.

Wonderful experience

By C P |

First time visit. We had a great time. If you’ve never been take the time. It was beautiful. We are from FL so was definitely a different experience.

Lake Havasu

By mindyderro |

It was a hot day when we were there but enjoyed the surrounding, and the boat ride around the lake . It was interesting to see the love locks on the bridge. It's surprising to see new developments and eateries around the bridge since the last time we were here.Traffic on the bridge was moderately busy.

Absolutely adore this city

By Renee P |

Havasu has everything to offer the lake lovin’ and river lovin’ people. Awesome bars and pools to party in!

Lots to see and do

By SaskMomTraveller |

Well not super hot in the winter months - it’s still warm enough to give you a break from winter and has a quaint charm around the island and the bridge. Lots of amenities and outstanding hikes around the city. A great place to do a quick winter getaway…and can completely see why so many are choosing to retire here. Well worth the drive from Vegas to spend some days! Just don’t expect to swim in the Lake in winter months - it’s chilly even for us northerners!

Beautiful

By mom98wmu |

We have visited a great number of cities but this one will always remain high on my list for beautiful places to visit. The water and the bridge are spectacular...especially at sunset!

Beautiful!!

By Rosemary H |

This was one of my favorite trips of a lifetime. If you like the dry heat this is the place for you. It was HOT but being on the water was perfect. The scenery was gorgeous and the water was warm. We will be back!

Loved every minute

By Tim C |

Waking up to the view of the London Bridge every morning was great. The staff was friendly, the only issue we had was every night we had to have the key card reset.

We had a bagel every morning on the balcony watching the ducks swim around below. We will be back.

Main attraction of this town for year round fun

By Julie K |

Swimming, boating, sailing, jetskiing, fishing, picnicking, shopping and dining available year round. Big party spot for the Memorial Day weekend. Water gets very warm in the summer. Beautiful area of town year round

Great place to visit.

By CarolynSD |

We loved our stay, despite the heat. We are anxious to return when the temperatures are more forgiving. The hotel we stayed in, The HEAT, was magical. Our room had a direct view of the London Bridge whose lights glistened and bounced off the water below. This is a beautiful surprise in the desert area of Arizona. A true Oasis!

Great family fun n

By brian195524 |

Rented a boat with the family last week. Had a ball!
Lake is clean and found many places to pull over and dock and swim. Great restaurants on the lake!

Lake Havasu

By Jelena S |

It's a beautiful place to stay and relax. You can swim in the lake and enjoy the nature... There are many of restaurants where you can eat with beautiful view of the London Bridge...

Paradise in the desert.

By Becky M |

I love living in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. Friendly people, lots of fun events and lovely weather most of the year. The area down by the London Bridge is beautiful and there are lots of great restaurants. Come and visit us for boating, fishing, dining, just to name a few. Beautiful sunsets too!

A Strange but interesting place

By David L |

I have to this area a couple of time. But only once during the Summer. Unless you are inured to the heat. I most highly recommend that you avoid it fir most of the Summer and early Fall.

On the plus side I met a lot of very nice and friendly Snow Birds. (Folks that escape the bitter winters back east)

Also if you want to see a lot of College Kids and the things that they get up to. Then by all means come during Spring Break. But be warned as you will find the place extremely crowded and there are a lot of very rowdy / drunk folks.

fascinating.

By brent b |

fun to see the bridge. it is amazing that they moved it here and put it back together and it is perfect. drove over it before i realized it was there.

Gorgeous man made lake.

By chefcrsh |

The lake is always lovely, either from shortenings or out on the water. It has excellent fishing (both on and off shore) and exceptional sunsets. Only negative is the occasional (more in summer) super speed boats roaring by.

TOO HOTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

By kathiehenderson |

Do not go to Lake Havasu in July>>> or probably June through August !!! Holy cow I like heat but thought I was going to die!!!!! Lake was Beautiful, Crazy Horse camp ground could use a few more tree's ! But it was clean. Glad we only stayed 2 days. Next time I will go in December ****

Fireworks

By jjpomeroy52 |

Slow, 30-40minuts betweeen shots. Horribly slow as we sat in out car waiting for some sign of life. The rodeo grounds were a mud hole, which was not anyone’s fault but it added to the misery of the show overall. This was Thursday night, maybe the rest of the show will pick up. We were not entertained by the Dollar Store bottle rockets between shots...

Hot and fun

By Lisa G |

Love this city. The residents, or part-time residents, are friendly and know how to have a good time. The lake is the main attraction from March through October. The city has many events, and something big is sure to be happening every weekend. Plenty of restaurant choices, a few breweries, a downtown/Main St. area, 3 or 4 main grocery stores, and 2 movie theaters. Not much in the way of clothes shopping, but do not worry about that, everyone dresses very casual. Think T-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes. Of course boating and ATVs are the most popular activities, hiking, biking, fishing are popular too. Some beaches and some swim areas, but less than you would expect.

Stopover

By CrankingChick |

We live in Arizona and have been to Lake Havasu a few times, but it isn't really a destination for us, more of a stopover on our way to somewhere else. The scenery of the lake in the desert canyons is beautiful, but there isn't a lot to do if you aren't physically able to hike and you aren't interested in boating. It's a popular recreation area for boats and jet skis, and rentals and boat cruises are available. The last time we visited was in August so it was hot and not very crowded along the shoreline, but there were a lot of people out on the water partying on their boats, complete with loud engine noises and thumping music. It seemed like they were trying to outdo each other with how obnoxious they could be. We just took a sunset walk along the Shoreline Trail from English Village and London Bridge around through Rotary Park. It's a nice paved walkway that's wheelchair accessible, and the park is free. We ignored the rowdy crowd in the channel and enjoyed the gorgeous scenery on Thompson Bay.

Got some great insight on the development of Lake Havasu

By Pat B |

Took a water tour of the lake & canyons- learned the history of the development of Lake Havasu & the relocation of the London Bridge.

spend days here

By IMHUEY |

great place to vacation for weeks or months always new things to see and do and very modern town with everything you want

Rockabilly concert

By Legarosa |

Great time better people nice car show and venue
Dry camping was overpriced at 40 bucks a night although there was spacing

Long lake but somewhat narrow

By Anne_PinkBiker |

Lake Havasu seems to go on and on forever along the road but never seemed to get very wide. You could rent a boat or ride on a boat. Jetskis seemed like a fun option but pricy

So Much to See

By TwoEurophiles |

You have the urban setting of the Lake and the surrounding area to explore which makes it a deligth.
Start off along the London Bridge with it's shops and cafes and mini-museums. Walk the Lighthouse Tour in easy phases or on your bicycle. Then explore a little further with the desert and the cliffs. Just take water with you!

Great town for boating

By martygood |

The "Lake" is the large body of water formed by the damn. It's great for wakeboardjng early am (6a) when it's calm. Otherwise, go off into one of the coves.

We have been coming to Lake Havasu city with our four kids for the last 10 years. It's one of the only places we can have great family town and get the kids off the electronics. You really want to be out on a boat or a wave runner, otherwise there is not much to do.

Very Pretty Sunsets!

By Carrie |

Nicely kept shores and a lot of activities. Gorgeous sunsets! Locals say they wouldn't swim in it though, makes me wonder if the water is polluted.

Paradise Lake!!!!

By Lenne K |

Rent a pontoon or jet ski and have an adventure of a lifetime exploring the lake and Colorado River.

Tikis Lake Havesu

By Londa |

It has been a week and I am still not over the excitement that Captain Stephan brought us by serving as our Captain on June 20, 2021, Father’s Day and the 4th Wedding Anniversary Celebration of My Dear Friend LaShunda Howard and her husband Kevin. David and I wanted to Celebrate with them in a great way and what an awesome time we had at Lake Havasu on The Tiki Hut Cruiser. Especially after the reopening of different facilities we were handle with care with COVID in mind; Captain Stephan provided a great cleaned and fun atmosphere. We had a great ride although it was 124 degrees that day, we couldn’t tell. This was an absolute wonderful first time experience that would never be forgotten we would like to thank you first of all Captain Stephan and the crew of Lake Havesu that we encountered. Shout out to the awesome go cart chauffeur.

Beautiful

By 2havasu2 |

I love Lake Havasu!! We have been coming here for over 40 years. The beauty is incredible. We are boaters and the lake is unbelievable. There are numerous coves to spend the day and swim hang out and meet new friends. I paddleboard and it is perfect. So much to do for all family members. Come and visit !!

Great place

By Toni G |

Nice place to visit. We took a couple tours of the river and highly recommend it. We first took a pontoon tour and then we took a rubba boat tour.

Love it

By Swank23 |

Such a beautiful place! Pretty sure I’ll be living here in the next 10 years or so and if not I’ll definitely be visiting more!

It is worth checking out night and day.

By Shane |

Because of how far I have to drive. It was worth checking out one at least once. We are going to comeback one more time for spring break. The London bridge is lit up at night and is defiantly worth checking out. There are a couple of restaurants on the boardwalk with good food.

As beautiful as it gets

By GARY C |

this ranks up there as one of the most beautiful lakes in the world... this whole area is top notch and natural beauty.. so much to see so little time

Vacation

By ESTHER C |

Very clean and beautiful lake.
Nice distance mountain view .
Has no wave zone so both residents and travellers enjoy safe and quiet place. No fish close by shore at this time of year. They say the fish are in deeper water in May.

Fun Experience

By kingz00 |

As an old folk i really enjoyed Lake Havasu, however it was not in peak young folks season. Beautiful location and went on a fun duck boat tour.

Beautiful scenery.

By Sandy W |

We were pleasantly surprised - I did not think it was so beautiful here. It is a short drive from Phoenix so very convenient. The scenery is really great, and the history behind the London Bridge is absolutely fascinating. Plenty of things to do - we did a one hour cruise to Copper Canyon, which is well worth it. The hiking trails are plentiful - but remember to take lots of water. Lots of eating places too. Will be back.

We had great hopes when we explored Lake Havasu

By sch21 |

We were looking for and expecting something special. We didn't find it here. Instead it was a mecca for motorized water craft and off roading. Unbridled growth in the downtown and surrounding areas, makes for difficult and tedious travel. Our planned 4 day stay turned into an overnight.

A revisit to London Bridge

By youngemsa |

We came to Lake Havasu to see London Bridge. I walked across the bridge in London 48 years ago and wanted to do it again.
The city is very clean, streets are smooth, directions to local attractions are well marked. Weather is great probably over 350 days a year.
We hope to be able to visit again and spend longer than a day.

A big lake to play on

By Stephen B |

A lovely Lake with several locations that offer fun and frolics for all the family. There have been a few problems in the past with people becoming infected by bacteria in the water so probably best go online a see if it is safe for swimming.

Love Lake Havasu City

By John B |

I go to Lake Havasu a half dozen times a year. Summer winter spring and fall. A lot of things to do there. Playing in the lake and river are great They have a lot of open air events A big car show in the fall and a big hot air ballon show first of the year.

Cool off on the way to the Grand Canyion

By Angelina |

The lake is great to have a night's break when traveling from LA to the Grand Canyion or the other way around. You can rent jet skis or take your boat to the lake . I stayed at the Crazy horse campgrounds near the beach which was really great. The camp side has all kinds of hook ups . The closest to the water have water and electricity.

Love Lake Havasu! And love Sam’s Beachcomer!

By Victor B |

Awesome “resort” (it’s a RV trailer park) but what an awesome locations and view of Lake Havasu. Well run office, nice pool-spa, horseshoe pits, clubhouse, great security and guard station.

Visit Lake Havasu

By JEAN MARC L |

Was camping in the area and went to Lake Havasu for the day. Checked out the bridge, had lunch, took the ferry $2 to the CA side for an inexpensive boat ride. Walked along the waterfront and rode bicycles on bike path around the island. You can either park on the island, left after crossing the bridge, or in the public parking as you enter the town which takes you along the beach. It is an easy 10 mins walk to the bridge from there.

Avoid for those who love nature

By Robert L |

Avoid swimming
Water is mixed with diesel, it's a horror
And on the beach there is a sign describing all the diseases that you can catch while swimming...not very natural...and not clean at all..
But it must be great for those who love motor sports and the smell of gasoline

One day is not enough

By IndySig |

I’m still trying to figure out why we only allowed one day in our schedule to visit Lake Havasu. This area is so interesting and the weather in late November was just perfect. The water is such an amazing colour of green and it is just huge. Next visit = multiple days.

Always great

By Julio R |

This is a great lake, better in many ways than some of the other larger ones in the area like Lake Mead or Lake Powell.
The water during the summer months ins very warm, and clear.
There are so many "coves" to explore and just swim in, and the trip going from lake Havasu up the Colorado river is quite scenic.

A great place to see

By Lia C |

Great place to see with the family. Love it. Never bored with the kids. Brings your family also dogs are welcome. Great place to see!!!!!!

Nice summer vacation spot

By Mikel M |

Lake Havasu has a lot to offer for vacationers. Plenty of restraunts and bars, hotels, parks, and activities. Gets very crowded during the peak summer months. Also its pretty expensive. If you like water activities and the club, party scene you will have a good time here during the summer.

Desert!

By Judy C |

If you like the dry southwest, Lake Havasu City is just the place for you. Nice in November, not too warm. It was windy while we were there, but the dust in the air makes for beautiful sunsets.

Nature & Parks and Bodies of Water (TA's heading)

By on_the_go_98765 |

For this review, we parked our personal opinions at the proverbial door, about the paucity of sightseeing options and mediocre strip mall shopping opportunities, and decided to evaluate "Lake" Havasu as TA classifies it: as a park and body of water. During our visit, the temperatures were quite cold as the heavy winds fanning the California fires also made their presence known here.

This was a first visit for us (and our last) and the water was devoid of swimmers and boaters. A "ghost town" comes to mind and indeed the bridge is said to be haunted by Victorian era people. A pleasant mile-long formal path lines the shore from the area of Rotary Park down to English Village. The shores of the lake have covered picnic areas with facilities for barbeques.

The really huge skate board park must have cost a small fortune and is open to all, in spite of the absence of safety equipment that users really should be wearing. Other play equipment for little kids was creative and plentiful. Everything looked well maintained. Even the beaches (such that they are) along the lake looked clean and well-raked.

The extensive "park" aspect of Lake Havasu extends along the shore of the river/lake and crosses the bridge to the Island which is mostly State Park land. There's a 3.7 mile loop on the island for bikes and pedestrians which offered views of the water, with a lighthouse miniature or two and an historic WW II military site (Site #6) very close to the path. Lots of benches line the path. The land is mostly desert landscape but it has its own special appeal.

The views were welcome; the water was quite blue and there were enough opportunities for us to get out and enjoy Lake Havasu during our nearly week-long stay. Although this was a "one-and-done" stop for us, we squeezed enough out of it to merit an "average" rating on our own TA scale.

I though they have only the bridge here...but I was so wrong

By Annaline |

I came here just to see the London Bridge but I was impressed by so much more. I would definitely come back here to explore more. I just had a chance to see the bridge and than walk/drive and explore around the island (which is connected with the rest of the city with the XIX century bridge).
With its reputation as a party community, Lake Havasu has twice been featured during MTV's Spring Break coverage. So if you don't like loud & crazy boat parties, don't come here during Spring Break.

Cute Town

By Lisa O |

Really enjoyed our day in Lake Havasu City. We walked the walkway along the lake, under the London Bridge. We enjoyed the little shops along the way. The scenery is beautiful. As we drove out of town to the south on 95 the scenery became even more beautiful.

We Loved Our Visit---BUT We Had a Unfortunate Run In

By Mid West Jazz |

We were on a vacation in Laughlin and decided to take a day trip and have a lunch overlooking The London Bridge. We found a great Restaurant called Barley Brothers Brewery. We get back to that wonderful dining experience later.
On the way into Lake Havasu City along the 95 the scenery was great. The speed limit changed by 20 mph. At the point where the speed limit changed we saw sirens behind us and we were pulled over for speeding. We tried to explain to the officer that he pulled us over at the point the speed limit changed and we didn't have the time to adjust to the decrease in speed limit when he pulled us over. the officer's only response was TELL IT TO THE JUDGE.
Officer Plunkett # 253, literally went on and on about how he knows that tourists will never waste the time to come back to Lake Havasu City to appear before a judge, we should just pay the ticket today and continue on our day.
We proceeded, with ticket in hand, to find Barley Brother's Brewery to see The London Bridge. A fantastic view from this wonderful restaurant. We mentioned to our waiter about our alleged speeding incident . He knew immediately who issued the ticket; the same Officer Plunkett. Our waiter told us all the locals know his treatment of snow birds and people clearly visiting for the day with out of state plates and the locals avoid him at all costs.

So as much as we loved our visit to Lake Havasu and The Bridge it was ruined by the office who preys on out of towners in LHC.

Palm trees without salt water!

By Val P |

We usually boat at Lake Powell but getting tired of the corporate BS going on there so wanted to see if we should take the extra drive to Havasu - I think we will! Nice job, State of AZ, providing clean beach and camping areas along the lake, with amenities like portable toilets, picnic tables, and trash cans! Maybe we just hit it right, but it was nice to have calm waters throughout the day, clearly marked boat hazards coming in/out of coves, and plenty of places to stop & beach with good depths to decrease boat damage. Only spent 1 day on the lake but will be back for multiple days I'm sure!

Great place to vacation!

By amanda5805 |

This was our first time to Lake Havasu we were visit my mother & father in-law. There is so much to do. Lots of fabulous restaurants, bars, cafes, lots of different places to shop, hikes, water & land activites. Everything seems to be a fair price and catering to the 50+ crowd. This was just before spring break. Seemed like the tour does get ready to cater to the college students for when spring break does hit. No matter where you were you were always around very happy people. I recommend checking out Rubba Duck Safari tours we had a great time. Restayrant wise La Vita Dolce for Dinner Make sure you try the Dolce Donuts. As well as Cha-Bones on Sundays for happy Hour. Cant wait to go back and see what else it has to offer.

Fun town

By Gina S |

We spent the afternoon here sight seeing, the London Bridge is a must see. There is plenty of shopping and great restaurants.

Lake Havasu Weekend

By KatyD12345 |

It’s been a long time since I’ve visited a lake town or a lake. This is one that is definitely a winner! I would recommend this to anyone. There’s a lot of activities for people of all ages including water activities, beaches, food, river cruises and even a ferry to a casino in California which is across the lake. The water in the bay is low enough to take a swim, but there was so much boating activity, I don’t think it was safe for anything, but just wading in the water.

Definitely a must do if you are in this area.

There a boat load of stuff to do.

By Kerisue D |

I love Lake Havasu, beautiful water surrounded by red mountains. Yes it is hotter than Hades in the summertime, but the winters are wonderful. You can go four wheeling, boating, golfing, flying, fishing...you name they got it.

A relatively small man-made lake, and nothing more.

By Paul M |

Lake Havasu was built onto the Colorado River for the express purpose of setting up a vacation/retirement community. If you are into the American desert it might be appealing. However there is absolutely nothing noteworthy anywhere close to it so it is a somewhat interesting place to visit, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Arizona's Mini Cabo San Lucas

By Paul F |

This is a mini version of Baja California with decent places to stay and excellent restaurants. It has a dry tropical breeze at night.

Party Lake in the Hot Desert

By Zoom_Gotti |

A fun spot on the Colorado, especially good for water activities like jet skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking, etc. Stands as the initiator site of the personal watercraft. And is home to the actual London Bridge. Gets really hot in the summer and can be terribly windy at other times. Sort of a party town with lots of bars and restaurants, particularly in the downtown core. Great mountain scenery around. But it's not Vegas and not even Laughlin. There's one casino across the lake on the California side. You can find inexpensive ferry service down at the dock beneath the bridge.

The no-wake zones are huge, good for swimming, etc.

By Alex G |

This lake, ninety feet at its deepest is the result of the Parker Dam's creations. At 45 miles long, bring your boat for some serious exploring. Just be sure to observe the no-wake zone as we saw numerous people get tickets from the Lake Havasu police. Water is clear and amazingly blue most days. Remember, June, July and August average highs are over 100 degrees, so slather on the sun block and enjoy!

What a Blast!!

By Pamela S |

Water, Sun & tons of fun!!! We have been living in AZ for 4 years and it was our first time at the lake. I'm totally a River Rat now, It's all about the water....We'll be here for our monthly water fix.

It's a nice place to get away to. It's close to some nature things. There's quite a few activities. Just be careful about visiting in spring as it is a major spring break destination.

But if that's your thing, it's probably a great place for you then too.

Great lake, cold water

By Mark S |

We went boating and jet skiing with my family and cousins in October. The weather was great. It was in the mid 80's and sunny the whole time. We went tubing and snorkeling and the water was chilly. My kids used a wet suit so it was more comfortable. There were different places to beach the boat and either have a picnic, or use the out house. We had a great time. My teenage son jumped off one of the cliffs. The London Bridge is also very beautiful at night.

Special city in Arizona

By MindyS291 |

Lake Havasu is one of those places you need to go to if you are in Arizona. Not only is the surrounding area beautiful the river, lake in the area gives it a extra special touch. There are many great eating and drinking establishments. There is a casino boat that you can take from the mainland to the casino on the other-side of the Island. The London Bridge is something unique and beautiful to see. My family will be back to this City again

Nice mini Vacation place. lol

By Mayra R |

I can’t believe I had never been here. It was so nice to come. I would definitely come back. People are friendly and nice.. Just don’t eat at a place called Sinaloa tacos y mariscos because that place is expensive as hell.. Think of it as eating at ”burger” McDonalds but being charged the price of Native New Yorker.

Beautiful but very racist

By Brandi Bell |

Lake Havasu its self is a beautiful place. However I have never in my life been treated so horribly for being hispanic. We tried to go have fun but everywhere we went there were people just starring at us and in a hostile way. We had one guy flip us off while we walked by, another guy purposly walked passed my husband and told him to watch out SPIC... Ive never been so uncomfortable and legitimatly scared just because of our ethnicity. We will never be going back here and I am making sure to let my loved ones know that this is not a safe environment unless you are white.

Boating

By Debbie H |

Best town for boating. So many fun restaurants and shops. The channel is so fun to beach the boat and people watch and see all the cool boats drive by. Pirates cove is another great location to beach your boat.

Fun in the Sun

By HeidiH46 |

Lake Havasu is a lively and fun area on the Colorado River. Some of the Boats are just amazing. Lots of excellent hotels and restaurant. We are going back soon!!

Family with teens and Young Children

By MoPiEv |

Destination Lake Havasu to see the London Bridge. The views are overall nice, however the place to see the London Bridge not so much.
Tip: use mosquito repellent
By the bridge the smell isn't pleasant, if you are okay with your kids to see boobies, bootees out, then this is the place to be (I can only imagine how it is during Spring break), there are drunk people walking around. So the view of the London Bridge is okay, the actual place not so much. Ohh the phone booth is a joke (not well kept)

Lake Havasu Summer Paradise

By Dennis C |

Lake Havasu is truly our summer get away summer paradise. We rent a house for three to four weeks every summer, take our dogs and pontoon boat and completely relax, recharge and rejuvenate our lives. It is such a great time for us it is hard to put into words. We cruise the lake, the Colorado River, finding places to beach our boat and swim, chill, drink adult beverages, let the dogs swim and completely chillax. Cruising up the river and through the gorge on our way to Pirate Cove is one of our favorite activities, stopping at the Sand Bar along the way to beach the boat and hang out with other like-minded River Rats. On those 105-110 degree summer desert days the river is a nice cold and refreshing respite, and of course, having a few adult chilled beverages to go with the day doesn't hurt either. We always rent a house with a nice back yard and pool, so going home after a long day on the lake and river is a lot of fun. We jump into the pool and BBQ burgers or steaks and totally chill out there as well. And, there are lots of other entertainment options at night as well in Lake Havasu. Lots of local restaurants and bars to hang out in, including a place called Kokomo's, right next to the Channel and the London Bridge. Awesome drinks and fun pool to cool off after you park your boat at their dock. We always dread going home after our vacation at Lake Havasu, so if you have not visited this place before and are contemplating it, you should definitely give it a try.

Whats below the surface

By Steve S |

Living here is different from visiting. The Mayor is out for himself (no surprise), the "City Counsel" fights amongst themselves, doesn't think things through, makes bad decisions and are easily convinced. So really it's like a big HOA where the committee runs the show and committee members like the power and prestige of City Counsel statues. But nobody is out for the health and benefit of the City's population. Everyone is busy playing and having fun to care what happens. So the taxes go up, Sewers are forced down your throat, Republic waste management gets what they want at OUR expense, they all look the other way when Interagency , the Humane Society (and others) get caught redistributing funds to personal accounts AND the local paper ignores and protects the whole mess. It's just like Vegas. I am a resident.

Magical Havasu City!!!

By Wendy H |

Lake Havasu City AZ is a magical place. It is HOT so stay Hydrated and enjoy this Magical Place!!! It is worth the Drive!!!

Beautiful scenery

By koppla69 |

Family and I went there for some outside fresh air. We walked along the bridge area. Place was clean and lots of friendly people doing there walks. Afterwards we went to Juicy's. Very good food.

Touristy town

By luckyinlove02 |

I love London so thought I really should check out the London Bridge that lives in USA now. The town seemed a bit dead but maybe it was because it is February. After eating and seeing the bridge not much else to do.

Paradise City

By Betty |

We first came to Lake Havasu in March of 2014. My husband and I instantly fell in love with the lake ,desert, mountains and the awesome winding streets, the bridge and history, the great temperatures in the winter months(we are from the midwest....Brrr) and most of all the amazing people in Lake Havasu! Everyone is friendly and helpful. We loved it so much we purchased a vacation home the next year! So much to see and do and not just on the water. Motorcycling is wonderful for daytrips south to Parker Blythe and Quartzsite or North to Kingman and the Hualapai Mountains. The Mohave County Museum in Kingman is well worth a visit for all you that enjoy the history of the Southwest. The old Route 66 from Kingman to Seligman is another adventure that takes you back in time. A very long day trip to Wickenburg is also enjoyable.Havasu has an amazing utv club with many great rides in the desert. Have heard a lot of good things about the "peacetrail" but have not experienced it yet. And of course a weekend visit to the desert bar(nellie's saloon) is a must! The classic car show downtown Thursday afternoon/evening attracts many car enthusiasts . We have heard some good live music in Lake Havasu especially enjoy Brianna Payne Band when they are at the flying-x and Karaoke can be found several places around town. Oatman and Chloride are fun little ghost towns to visit not to far away and long weekend visits to Sedona,Flagstaff and Phoenix are easy enough to do. So for some of the reviews that have mentioned nothing to do.....really ??? I didnt even mention the great hiking ,bicycling the island, huge swap meet on Sunday and 2 near by casinos and picnics and walks at rotary park and along the channel, and numerous events that are held every weekend! Some good places to eat and have a few drinks....Jersey Grill, Turtle Resort restaurant along the water,Angelina's Italian ,Ed's deli and Chabones for a good steak and Chico's mexican, Rusty's cafe ,hangar restaurant at the airport are just a few! Needless to say I love Lake Havasu! I feel safe, no traffic issues in the winter months, clean and organized grocery stores with wonderful bakeries and delis. Ps Food city has a great pastry display with very reasonable pricing! And last but not least Lake Havasu has 2 wonderful theatres if you need to get out of the heat for awhile. I would recommend watching the gorgeous sunsets most evenings instead!!!

Amazing

By snu70 |

Such a nice place...so many things to do..london bridge...the lake..history..close to everything..food..loved it here.

Nice city for snowbird visit

By J D |

Have found a number of very good restaurants, sites to see and visit while here. City seems to be very clean, business areas strangely laid out but activities available for everyone.

Favorite Summer Destination

By williamsmia29 |

My favorite place to go to every summer! So many bars to go to and a nightclub on the water called Kokomo-my personal favorite! On holiday weekends, I would recommend it for the older crowds (18+)-it gets a little wild and out of hand. "Off-weekends" are best for families-that's when I take my son.

Not a summer destination

By Kevin-Douglas Gevedon Olive |

We ended up in Lake Havasu because we waited too long to trade our RCI points.

The lake is warm, and I mean warm. It’s probably great out in the lake on a boat. But wading into tepid, grassy water that smells of farts (decay) isn’t our idea of refreshing. The lake is gorgeous and the ferry ride across to the casino is nice. If all you do is sit out and stare at the lake all day, the view is gorgeous. Our desk clerk told us that sometime It gets so full on the lake with boat you can’t even navigate and people walk boat the boat to get around. That tells me that when the water is best you can’t really swim in it either or enjoy boating. So you tell me

Trashy nowadays

By Nancy |

The town has changed for the worse in the last year. Unfortunately, there seems to be an influx of homelessness and transients. They beg for money at all the intersections and camp along the lakeshores.
Kinda ruins your vacation when your kids watch a homeless man defecating on the beach.

Best travel lodge hotel !

By candg2017 |

I say this is the best hotel since the breakfast area had music instead of noisy stressful news on tv when others can watch that in their own rooms. It serves real cracked eggs, not bagged junk, watermelon on ice- refreshing, cereal in container to pull lever down, small and large waffles, bagels, toast, juices, hash browns etc.
Rooms seem to have new carpet, beds firm but ok softish, and the halls were clean! Outdated but kept up well. Room 219 had a view lake.
Odd thing was the night we checked in the lady told us $80 for Sunday night- we looked online At their sight and it showed $72.
Great busy young man in morning for breakfast and checkout also, he did hustle.
Thank you so much for the pleasant music at breakfast! It really makes a difference in people’s attitudes at breakfast also.

Best Place to visit in Arizona

By ClarenceandDebr... W |

Wonderful place on the Lake. So many things to do and great people. The Rubba Duck Safari was excellent & highly recommended.

Great Water Experience

By Grant411 |

This was our first visit and we were totally thrilled with the outcome. It is amazing what the Lake provides, and seeing London Bridge itself was worth the trip.

a place to live or play?

By gerald h |

Havasu is a tourist attraction, not a town to live in. Most employment in the city is hospitality related, with non liveable wages which relates to below level incomes. The city lacks good interstructure, as related to residential codes and enforcement. In general, pretty much anything and everything goes, unless you live in protected areas , such as HOA communities. In essence it is a nice community to visit, but you would not like to live there.

Plenty to do and see

By Smokinboles |

We visited Lake Havasu for a second time this week. Last time was during Spring Break and this time during Winterfest. Seems there’s always something going on here.

There were plenty of activities here: boating, camping, fishing, jet skiing, wake boarding, hiking, sightseeing, eating, kayaking, etc.

We were visiting friends and spent most of the day at Winterfest. They had about 500 booths set up with unique items, trinkets, food, signs, services, toys, motor home gadgets and many ‘as seen on tv’ types.

Later we went out to dinner at Bad Miguel’s, (see separate review.). Our AirBnB was accommodating, affordable and comfortable.

Get Out on The Water

By J G |

This is a great oasis in the desert. Get out on the water and see great sights. Cliffs and canyons all over. Make it a point to see as many of the replica lighthouses as possible. It is a fun "scavenger hunt."

Just beautiful, just as a public park should be

By mervous |

Great open spaces, stunning views, lots of shelter and places to sit and clean, really very clean. Just take a walk and soak up the atmosphere, it's all free.

Most Friendly people!

By Mary Ann |

We stayed at Sam's Beachcomber and toured the area for a few days. We could not meet an unfriendly person, it was so wonderful! We had a great dinner at Barley Brothers Brewery (great walk-way to the river) and a fantastic lunch at Javelina Cantina. Bass Tackle Master was the most helpful and friendly place. We love Lake Havasu CIty and will return soon.

Beautiful day on the lake

By gstrange8 |

Boated from Windsor to Topock. The Topock Gorge is awesome. Stopped for a great outdoor lunch at the Topock Grill. Thoroughly enjoyed this expedition.

Nice trip

By Robert D |

Spent one month in Lake Havasu and had a great time. There are lots of things to do
and there are a wide variety of restaurants and bars. Like all tourist towns some establishments are better quality than others but you quickly can determine which places deserve your patronage.
I should have booked 2 months ad it's below zero in MN. In any event I will return and re experience Lake Havasu.

Lake Havasu

By Joan |

I really enjoyed my time here as there were lots of things to see and do. We even decided to change our plan and spend an extra day there to be able to take more in.

Nice stop in Lake Havasu City

By lailacortopassi |

We stopped in this town on our way from Los Angeles to Seligman. Lake Havasu is very unique, a much loved tourist area in Arizona, with the famous London Bridge.

London Bridge

By Eunice |

Had a wonderful time. Took a ferry that cost only $2. It takes you from the London bridge to the other side of whatever that place is called.we did not get off we just wanted enjoy the ride and the feel of the wind in our hair. Took pictures under the London bridge. Cheap place for a summer vacation and great for water activities.

Vacation

By WSS |

We went to Lake Havasu AZ to get some sun. It was 70-75 degrees while we were there. There is a lot to see and great places to eat. You can’t miss the historic London Bridge.

Only Real Attraction

By Lincoln117 |

Yes, you should walk along the waterway and cross London Bridge. It's interesting and quite a site and walk.

Best boat repair shop in Lake Havasu AZ!

By Victor B |

This is the BEST boat repair shop in Lake Havasu! Why…because the owner Joey really cares about his customers and does excellent work at a fair price. This business is easy to work with and very responsive to your needs. It’s not the biggest shop in town, but it’s the best! I was extremely satisfied with my engine repair and trailer repair.

First trip to Lake Havasu City

By Sparky1956 |

Great little area if you enjoy sun and water. They have very nice waterfront parks as well as paved walkways along both sides of the canal that cut under the London Bridge between mainland and island. Lots if interesting places to spend time or money. We did both. We stayed at a Condo as opposed to the hotels/resorts they had to offer and were quite happy with our choice at Lakeside Village. Some of the local real estate places we reached out to never responded to our emails so we chose to go through VRBO instead. I think the local rental places need to work on their treatment of prospective clients if they are interested in renting to anyone other than spring breakers. The area it self is quite nice though and it gets warm there fast so make sure to stay where there is a pool to cool down.

london bridge

By Gigi O |

we spent 4 days and that was enough
we hiked, drove to hwy 66 and had lunch on the river but lake havasu seemed to be losing alot of businesses.
alot of empty places

Who knew London Bridge is in AZ?

By 2BNKD |

We were surprised to find the London Bridge in Arizona of all places. Now we heard stories, but didn't think they was true. Our motel was only a block away so we had to go see it. There are a couple of boat tours I would highly recommend with their offices pretty much under the bridge. It will give you a chance to learn some of the area's history.

Clean and Peaceful

By nancy s |

Lake Havasu is pretty; the mountains and the river provide some nice photo ops. This is a small town with not a whole lot to do without a boat. Emerald Canyon Golf Course looks beautiful. There is a small sand beach with delightfully warm lake water compared to the cold river water in the area. The hotels in the area are not luxurious, but provide comfortable accommodations. At Christmas the London Bridge village has a fantastic light display well worth seeing!

Beautiful, large lake that is great for boating

By drjohnScottsdale |

I lived in Lake Havasu City in the late 70s. I haven’t visited for 25 years until today. The city has more than quadrupled in population since then. The lake, however, looks the same. It is a large, long lake that is great for boating.

Fun & beautiful

By Amanda |

It is fun place for most people have boat. There is a Ferry boat go Lake Havasu Landing casino. They never let you win like LV

Such a cool place - we had to return!

By BecRecks |

The London bridge is so beautiful, there are excellent boat trips here with narration and there are a ton of lighthouses around the Lake that are actual smaller replicas of real lighthouses. THe Lake had tons of swimming areas and lots of rental options for water craft. November was in the MID 80s -perfect time to go, not crowded AT ALL(don't go there in the summer!) Bring some water toys if you go. Lots of great breweries around - friendly people. Just a really neat place to go. But drink extra water as it is super dry there....

A Lovely Getaway

By Tracy G |

This is a little city that must not be over looked if around this area! We actually came from Indiana to visit again! My husband & I were here before we were married while traveling with my parents in the "70"s! This time just my husband & I returned because of such good memories:) It is a dear to my heart kind of place!

First timers, day trip with the wife.

By Toongsaram |

I planned a day trip for the wife to get her out of the house for her birthday. She was very excited about the Rubba Duck Safari and was not disappointed. If it is your first time operating a boat, it might now be as mellow as the pictures make it seem. agiven that, we still had a great time rompin on the waters. Afterwards, we found a spot out at Site 6 and took my little Toyota Hatchback offroad to find a nice little private spot, which appeared abundant. Dinner was also great. Would def come back.

Light House Replicas

By targano |

Excellent experience.
March is a little chilly however.
I would go back when it is warmer.
Excellent restaurants, beautiful walkways.
River experience is amazing with so many choices. Light house replicas are a great addition!

Good place to visit

By Philip K |

Recommend going on one of the excursions on to the lake. Learnt a lot from "Captn Rick" about the area and its history

Hot

By angeladrain |

very nice city, spread out, nice, friendly people. loved the beach. loved that they had slides on the lake for the boaters, of course at a cost, but still fun.

Great

By David U |

Great place to visit and learn about the history of Lake Havasu City. What a vision he had and the courage to do it.

Nice if you're in the area

By David D |

If you're in the area or passing close by, it is worth a visit. I wouldn't travel far just to see it but it is mildly interesting.

Our winter stomping grounds

By JMD1958 |

If you want some water in AZ, this is the place to stay. The city is not a retirement community. It has alot of different things to do. Anyone who comes here can find something they like! A very pretty area.

A GREAT BOATING LAKE.

By TravelAgentDave |

Great variety from Parker Dam, under London Bridge through Topach Wildlife Refuge. More boating than skiing/ boarding. Good family area for action or touring/ exploring.

Fun was had by all

By gingie2014 |

Great June vacation. Travel first two weeks of June. Avoid the crowds. Weekends are very busy summer trips. But fun. Very fun.

Boating hazards

By Lv2travel |

Beautiful area! But way too many STUPID,DISRESPECTFUL boaters who can't read regarding not coming in fast and not lowering boat speed ! Poor captain's on the ferry boat having to constantly blow warning horn to move out of way etc. LEARN BOATING ETIQUETTE PEOPLE !!!

What's not to love?

By JEFFREY C |

I wanted to go somewhere other than the Phoenix area (although I do love it there). I chose a beautiful day and had a great time. The lake is absolutely beautiful and the shops around the area were great too. I would love to go back again when I get to that part of the country. Until now, stranded in the Midwest.

Good swimming

By Twan00 |

Went to lake Havasu for as swim, the water was nice and clear, good temperature and no currents. There were toilets as well as changingrooms. Also there were bbq facilities.
But the best was the view of the lake, the backdrop and the boats racing the lake

Always a surprise!

By Mat D |

It's hot, but sun and fun are always on the bill April through October. And finding refuge from the temperatures will always lead you to some unexpected gems in this desert oasis.

Best boating ever!

By DianeD12345 |

Temperatures are hot, but the water is perfect! Best to visit if you have a boat or some way to be in the water.

Vacation.

By flyinglazyd |

I live Lake Havasu. There is so much to do. Always a great vacation. Nice to avoid spring break, can be a bit stupid. Lake Havasu has the desert, the lake, golf, riding, cars shows down town once a week, the desert bar, golf, hiking, good bars and dining. I am sure there is so much more I have yet to find.

Kayak back waters of lake havasu

By f0spat |

Really beautiful lake with some great back water kayaking. Will definitely be looking for more places to enjoy this lake

Town In The Round 👍

By Tammy T |

As a full-time RV couple, we realized that Lake Havasu City has been thought of as a hub between Vegas, Quartzsite, Phoenix...etc. Actually, it offers so much all year long, we couldn't help but make it our legal home!

Great food, fun entertainment, wonderful people, the LONDON BRIDGE and Marina/State Park, weekly events and all those mountains! Beautiful <3

Beautiful view from the Havasu Island and exciting place for the kids

By AiNguyen |

I thought that Lake Havasu is what I viewed from London Bridge. Actually it is not only that. The visitor center provided me a map for driving around Havasu Island and tell me the scenic outlook for the lake, at the end of the island. Such a beautiful corner of the lake!! It is picturesque! You can park right above the lake and have a panorama view. There are a small slide trail and my kids followed it to go down the lake. They went through a short "tunnel" made by trees and they are very exciting with their "exploration journey". Great that I could offer them something to replace their boring time walking on the bridge

Hot spot in Arizona

By jackn128 |

So much fun, I have been coming to Lake Havasu and the river for years. It has developed into a real Gem. So much to do year-round. Lots of things for the snowbirds in the winter and lots for River Rats in the summer. Enjoy quietness or crazy, it's all here.

Several hot August days

By Scott K |

Spent 3 days on the lake/river. Rented several boats to enjoy the water. Weekends are crasy, but that should be no surprise for this area.

Nothing Like A Desert

By Jennifer G |

This a lovely place for some rest and recreation. There’s several recreational water activities to choose from and if you’re not into any of that, simply take a stroll along the lakeside.
The only thing disappointing was the commercial display signs. They are an eyesore! A big shoutout to its city administrator: have the vendor’s signages less distracting as it ruins the almost perfect view.

A Fun 9Hole Golf Course

By djrpok |

This is a fun course. The grass was in fine shape, it was not overbooked and the staff was pleasant. Definitely will return when I an back.

Grown Alot Fun Place

Feb 2018, The Weather was Perfect, a great place to get away and Relax. There are several Good places to eat in town, Very Relaxed vibe,

Lake Havasu

By Laura Fetty |

This is a must see!! The water is so clear, beautiful mountains all around. With us going in January the weather was 70° and in the summer I am sure it’s so hot that you would want to just stay in the water but spring time may be a great time to enjoy this beautiful lake that is 4 miles wide at the widest part in 24 miles of shoreline!

No boat

By Chris H |

Great if you like boating but in the town nothing much to see but the bridge some good eaterys
Too hot to do much but eat and drink

nice place to visit but not to live

By Steve S |

The city is run by commitee and there is no accountability and no one to say "the buck stops here". The collective brain trust is disappointing and decisions are made that are not in the best interest of the community. If you are a visitor or a part timer you probably won't care but the City Counsil, City Planner,City Manager and the Mayor serve themselves. There is no objective oversight and even Inter Agency is under investigation by the Justic Department.

Great short trip!

By MunkaMo04 |

My husband and I spent a week in Vegas and I decided to surprise him a for day away at LHC. We rented a jet ski for the day and had so much fun finding all of the hidden lighthouses and swimming around the different canyons. We had lunch at Burgers by the Bridge-which was awesome. Fish was amazing! There's a few little "cheapy'' shops nearby and a welcome center across the walkway that had a lot of neat information about the London Bridge. We would definitely return! I'm sure there's a lot that we weren't able to see and do being mostly on the water, but was still a great day.

Great place to pitch a tent and share family time. Be sure to buy a raft at big five and fill up chest with beverages!

By Clint Elder |

Visit Parker to pitch tent or if your Mr and Ms. High Roller bring RV. Rome between Laughlin and Havasu. Fill your tank in Bull Head City with the Cheapest fuel prices in the country!

Great for a visit

By TW C |

Family friendly white sand beach. Many watercraft options. Plentiful shopping and restaurant choices. Only 3 hours from Phoenix. The drive between Parker and Havasu is stunning, mountains and river

What a great little town!

By Rick M |

Lake Havasu City Arizona is one of my top places to live. The weather in the winter is exceptional (Summer sucks unless you are a boater) and a perfect complement to the North like Victoria BC. You can have year round temperatures if you alternate between the two. Small Towns, less crime!

Too hot!!!

By Fred F |

Wasn’t what we thought it would be. Seemed like a good idea at the time! Not much to do! Do not need another 100 characters to describe. Won’t be going back!!

My home away from home

By Michelle B |

My best friend has lived here for 20+ years and I come at least once a year to visit her and her family and I can NEVER get enough of it. I feel so at home despite the temps being completely different from home in MN. But if I could move here I would, it's my favorite place to be! I love the weather, the views, the vibe and I dont ever feel like I am on 'vacation' even though I am totally on vacation and relaxed and at peace!

At least Enjoy the Nature of It

By Robert C |

The lake with mountains behind is an amazing view and everyone should get to see and feel what nature gives this area. I would just encourage other visitors to know the culture is less then inviting for us multi-cultural visitors. One too many flags on boats and homes boasting hate and one too many looks and comments for us. We really did not feel comfortable here, especially when you see those same folks partying beyond their limits. But if you can look beyond that, the nature of Lake Havasu is beautiful. We did have an amazing house rental for 4 days. We won't be back though.

Beautiful Weather and Scenery in January. No crowds

By G M |

I would not visit any time other than winter. Lake Havasu is famous for low class revelers and drunks!!!! Especially during spring break.

Thanks

By Karineh S |

Our family really enjoyed the short trip. You must visit to understand lake Havasu. First thing you should see is London Bridge. Second thing will be the Lake Havasu Museum, to find out who brought the bridge and who they reconstruct.

Never a bad day

By PastorCarlPeterson |

Lake Havasu City is a great destination, whether as a winter resident or week-end getaway. The weather is almost always sunny, though the temperatures get quite hot in the summer the winters are balmy. There is much to do and see, whether playing on the lake or getting around the town.

Love the lake

By Ashley F |

Great lake to enjoy with family. We stayed here for 4 days and it was fun. So many things to do and see from walking along side of the beach with the little shops to swimming, to party life. Great experiences.

Open spaces even while busy

By arithegreek |

This lake is very underrated. Everyone knows it for the parties but doesn't know it for the fishing and huge amounts of open space even when its busy.

Passing through encounters to palm springs

By Pam Ellis International |

This is a very weird but beautiful blue lake in middle of dessert. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come here, but we were just passing enroute to Palm Springs so thought we’d see what it was all about.

Beautiful Lake

By Jill V |

The water is so blue loved the lighthouses surrounding the lake and loved that there is so much to see and do in the area.

Perfect weekend at a perfect time of year

By Dorothy L |

We visited Lake Havasu City to escape for my birthday and take in a gem and mineral show. It was truly glorious: so much to do in such a beautiful setting. We'll be back.

Great place to visit!

By Todd R |

First time here... great hiking, water activities, restaurants, bars, and the people are very friendly!

Beautiful little place

By west_country_roamer |

Stopped off here on a road trip to the grand canyon, so glad we did. With all the lovely bars, restaurants and a London bridge over the lake, it was a beautiful place to stop.

Worth visiting if nearby

West trip

By Mark A B |

Rented a jacked up pontoon and spent a couple days on the lake. Visit to london bridge was cool. Stayed at the Hampton inn and even had a run in with the police after stopping on the road to find our bearings.

Loved the lake.

By Gabriella O |

It was very fun,i went with a lot of family and I loved swimming in the lake,The boat was so relaxing,I jumped out of the boat to,Everyone loved it.It's is a great place to get cooled down.

So very disappointed

What a total disappointment this place was. The city is dead. Not much at all happening. Very surprised to see so many places closed, not even attempting to be opened with restrictions. The funny thing is when we were there, masks were no longer required and still so many shops closed and empty. I would have thought I could find a nice souvenir shop at least but there were none to be found. There was really nothing to do unless you enjoy some water sports. The people were not very friendly either. This is a one and done for me.

A good place to visit

By John S |

We had never been to LHC, so on our way back to Washington we stopped at WM Havasu Dunes to spend four nights here. Glad we did. I won't go into what we did, but we did find plenty to do to keep us busy. I am sure if you plan ahead you can find activities that will fit your desires.

Nice place in the off-season

By booboo51 |

This is a nice off-season place to visit. The weather is great and most of the people living there are very friendly and helpful.

Very clean and friendly

By Stan S |

We loved our visit here and are making plans to return regularly to enjoy more of the great restaurants and fun things to do.

THE Actual London bridge is here. For real.

By Victor B |

It’s an awesome and pretty large lake in AZ. The town is fun with lots of shops and restaurants and of course, the legendary London Bridge - I mean the actual bridge from London England, dismantled and shipped across the pond and reassembled in Lake Havasu in 1970. You have to see it, to believe it!

Jet Skiing

By Latrice B |

This lake is beautiful! We brought out jet skis out here and we had so much fun. Easy access to launch area with plenty of parking.

There is plenty of places by the lake.

Buzzing with activity

By Miranda C |

There are many activities to do: boat tours, walking tours, water activities such as canoeing and jet skiing. We did canoeing and jet skiing, which was an invigorating experience and very exciting. The London Bridge has an interesting history worth knowing about. Lake Havasu is a very nice place to spend around. It truly is a beautiful lake and bridge.

Year round fun

By Gabby92399 |

As boaters Lake Havasu is a favorite destination for our family in the summer. This year we tried something different and went in December. We had a great time because the town wasn’t crowded. Our first night we were treated to the annual boat parade. It’s held the first weekend in December but check before you go, in case it gets changed due to weather. The London Bridge Resort has an ice skating rink for families to enjoy. The weather was a bit windy and brisk but still very pleasant. Some people were boating while we were there but overall boat traffic on the lake and channel was negligible.

Pontoon Boat for the Day

By trkr6468 |

We rented a pontoon boat and spent a good part of the day out on the lake. We have family i the area and have always wanted to do this so it was nice to check this one off the list, but I have to say, not a very exciting place. Apparently, the majority of people take there pontoon boat, beach it along the gravel shore and sit and drink for the say. Not sure i get the point of that. Having never been on the lake before, it was fun for us to drive around and see things, but probably would not do it again as there really isn't much to see while you are out there. Overall fun and would recommend everyone try it once, but don't plan a vacation around spending it on the lake.

Great way to beat the heat

By kritolbloom |

Love the whole Havasu vibe. It is so laid back and relaxing. There's a ton of stuff to do in every price range. The restaurants close to the water are wonderful for slowing down and getting out of the sun. There's rentals for every type of water sport you're into and everything is within walking distance.

Beautiful lake

By JimmyJackk |

I really enjoyed our weekend out at lake Havasu. Lots of great places to walk around. Lots of recreational activities available.

endless fun

By Willie H |

beautiful lake, but you really need a boat to enjoy everything that it offers. You got a ton of campgrounds that can only be accessd by boat. When you can pull up to a camp site in your boat, have lunch watch other boaters, use the restroom, swim, relax. I swear it don't get much better. travel thru the channel under London Bridge, Pull up to a casino or restaurants or just enjoy the sites the fun never ends.

Very Noisy Lake Havasu

By Allan S |

We stayed for one night at the Hampton Inn, which was in a quiet location just a short walk from the London Bridge, during Memorial Day weekend 2016.
We went for a walk by the lake and discovered that Lake Havasu City is very much a college party town. There were numerous jet skis and boats with competing sound systems which was all very loud and noisy!
As a more mature couple we felt a little out of place.
However there is a boat across to the California Casino, numerous restaurants and a very nice park alongside the lake.
Perhaps we would have enjoyed it more had it not been a "celebration" weekend!

Exploring Arizona

By TJ H |

We are in Lake Havasu City to see if it is a place to retire in. We have lived in Oklahoma City all of our lives and are looking for a change. The city is very nice; exceptionally clean, well laid out with all the amenities you would expect. From libraries to a Walmart supercenter Lake Havasu has everything you may need. It seems very affordable to us. The big plus for us is low humidity and very few to NO mosquitoes.

Beautiful

By Bubbles |

This place is beautiful. I came during September before any of the snow-birds or college kids came so it was pretty quiet when I went. This lake is absolutely beautiful and so is the town. I definitely recommend to anyone visiting AZ.

London Bridge jet boat tour

By Margaret H |

Excellent experience along Colorado River from Laughlin NV. Great scenery and excellent tour guide/owner Trevor gave great insight to history and things to look for.

Safe, friendly and plenty to see

By Lord & Lady Jeavons |

Whilst on a driving tour we stayed in Lake Havasu for two nights.
It has a lovely atmosphere and feel to it. You really feel like you are on vacation here.
We took a four-dollar boat ride across the river which was excellent value and was scenic and fun.
London Bridge and the English village were great to have a look around and we walked along the river and then sat and had ice cream.
There are plenty of good restaurants, and the people here are very friendly and helpful, and it is very safe to walk around, even at night.
It has a wonderful vibe and is a great place to look around.
Probably the best place we went to on our tour.

Majestic 180* degrees

It is so beautiful everywhere you look.... So many things to do and see... the sunsets! London bridge is a highlight.

Water Sports...Yess...Daily living Poor

By Rochester Resident |

Lake Havasu City is a nice place to visit, but I didn't like living there! Pros: Good water sports! Cons: Poor healthcare, poor cultural experiences, poor shopping, extreme heat, allergies, high cost of living because it is a tourist destination and isolation to name a few.

Windy day

By Andrew T |

Was a windy day on the water of Lake Havasu the day I was there. Made for a fun boat ride at 30 mph with 50 mph winds

So Few Reasons to Go

By Traveler1463 |

If you like painful sun, sunburned white people, aggressive drivers, gas powered sports, salty oily food, right-wing politics that leaves no room for discussion, no art, cover bands, a twenty minute drive to walk your dog, dusty dirt and literally no green, no rain, and endless lakefront storage facilities, this is the place for you! Have fun!! Bye!

Nice water and lots of accommodations

By Miguel B |

I like the place, the water felt nice and clean. The lighthouse was pretty and they had a lot of accommodations for only $20. Would come here again for the full experience.

Sunshine, water, and stars beyond imagination!

By Paula108 |

Lake Havasu does not have street lights so your view of the stars are never ending! We had several places to choose rental water sports equipment. On a slow day you can really shop for the best rates as well. If you are not from AZ be prepared for the heat, it is no joke! It is much hotter in LH even more so than the Phoenix valley in the summer.
I recommend eating in town, lots of independently owned restaurants to browse. Spring break is prime time/EXTRA busy so that may influence when you visit either way.

Nice place to visit.

By Kathleen S |

Weather is really hot in September, but we still were able to enjoy a wonderful boat ride and good food.

A fun dive

By BGericke |

McKie’s Pub is a “wanna be” Irish bar with a lot to recommend it. First, let me be clear about one thing. Some negative reviews said there seemed to be a disconnect between the bar and the kitchen. There is. They are separate businesses. If you want food you order and pay at the kitchen window. The bar has nothing to do with that. The menu is very adequate and pretty tasty. Some week nights it is the only place open to get a late bite. The bar is fun and the staff can actually mix a cocktail. This place isn’t fancy, but it is fun, brash and in spite of its dive appearance it is quite safe. I give it a 4 based on location, hours, and fun. It is not a fancy joint, but rather has the ambiance of the places mom told you not to frequent. The food is not gourmet, but comfort all the way. Try it.

We live here 19+ years, so very partial..

By Travelsapassion |

Love love love this city... We are semi-retired and spend a little more than 7 mos. here Sept-May (visit family in New England in the summer and a few weeks at Christmas).. became full time residents almost 20 years ago.. wonderful location, friendly community and always lots to do... Of course perfect weather and scenery are certainly a plus.. best sunsets anywhere...

Great fajitas!

By Lora M |

Delicious, hot fajitas in a great atmosphere! 3 other couples joined us for a fun evening at this wonderful restaurant in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. We enjoyed a cold, flavourful margarita to start and didn’t wait long for our meals. Our waitress was new but her supervisor stopped by to make sure we were looked after. It was a pleasant evening!

London Bridge

By Beverly G |

The walk across the London Bridge was so enjoyable combined with a stop in the Barley Bros. Brewery adjacent to this very scenic bridge in the resort area of Lake Havasu. People in rented boats and kayaks skimmed the turquoise water of the channel. We enjoyed Cobb Salad topped with salmon. Parking in the lot was free...the grounds beautiful, the sky was blue and the air temperature 78 degrees! (Snowing at home). London Bridge is the real deal. Falling down in it's original site it was reconstructed and so useful to connect the island to the main land. Definitely plan the stop with lunch...a wonderful memory!

Beautiful views

By Jim W |

You can walk forever round this lake, or you can take a boat trip, or even a swim (I think). Plenty of souvenir shops, restaurants, and of course, the bridge.

Nice Place for Water Leisure

By Tan Q |

Beautiful lake view. And it is also a right place for water activities, such as yatching, motorboating. A nice place to relax and enjoy.

It Is A Big Lake

By Michael H |

A big lake made by daming the Colorado River. Lots of noisy boat activity. A 20 Something party spot. Hard to find peace and solitude along or on the lake.

Great City

By MelanieH476 |

I moved to Lake Havasu in 2010 and it’s the most wonderful city. During the winter months there is something going on every weekend to keep you busy. We have over 300 days a year of sunshine!

Way too hot!

By Richard B |

We visited to see the sights and get a meal. The London Bridge was pretty cool. The meal was pretty good. The rest of the town wasn't so impressive. There were LOTS of strip malls, Home Depots, WalMarts, and Starbucks. We didn't find many places to walk and see the sights. And it was 117° in the shade! We did see a few others thoroughly enjoying riding the jet skis and pontoon boats. It was off season, so there weren't many there.
