From the multiple large playgrounds, to the train, to the rental bikes, to the splash pads, and more - there is so much for a family to do on a trip to the Lakes Regional Park. Facilities were clean. Food and drinks for sale were centrally located to the different activities. Picnic tables were available for use. Loved the train! Enjoyed the bike ride but know that you’ll definitely work up a sweat!

First you will need a Lee County park pass or be prepared to pay for parking. This is a first rate park, splash pad play area, shelters for picnicking or reunions, Florida garden, for those want to learn what grows well in Florida, Nice walkways and bikes for rent. Nature viewing. Seasonal Farmers Market.

This is a beautiful park. They host a farmers market every Wednesday. There are playgrounds for children and a splash pad. Along the trail you will find workout spots with equipment and instructions. There are lots of fun signs to tell you about the animals/wildlife you may see while you are there. You can rent bikes/family bikes. There are just so many different things to do here. Every third Wednesday of the month they read to kids in the children’s garden. If you’re visiting fort Myers you should definitely add this park to your list.

We always visit this park. It is so beautiful and has great gardens & walking paths. They have a children’s garden and play area. There is a fun little train that tours the park. Bring your family and have a picnic.

This is a lovely park with trails and a long board walk around water. There are many signs informing you about the wildlife. A train ( most suitable for children) leaves hourly, there are bicycles to rent and snacks and ice cream to buy. By good luck we came on a Wednesday at noon and there was an outstanding large farmers market open until 1:00. It was a great place to buy lunch and then enjoy it on one of the many picnic tables. This park would be really fun for kids as there was a large interesting playground, water features and a children’s garden as well as the train.

Nice big park with a lot of good biking trails. What made it nicer was that we went during the farmers market so we got fresh veggies, free parking and a good bike ride in.

The changes that have been made at Lakes Park are totally amazing, from the time my children little, to taking my grandchildren today. It is a beautiful park with plenty of things to do, whether it be riding bikes or letting the children run to the playground in in the water spring area. It's also amazing the different fish you can see and especially the alligators.

From many beautiful and rare flowers, bushes, and trees to birds, snakes, and gators, to train ride for the children; this is a fabulous park! And you only have to pay for parking.

Very family friendly. Nice playground, splash park, and good walking trails. Every Wednesday a nice T
Farmers market.

We just loved this park! It’s clean and beautiful! We brought our grands who are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2 and they loved the play area.
It’s large and well laid out with lots to climb on and slide down too.
We went on the train ride it started at 10 and went around the track about every 1/2 hour wile we were there. Cost is 5.00 per adult no charge for under 4 I think. It is open and low to the ground probably holds max 20 people. Both our grands sat on their mamas lap and were happy to be on the train. It’s just a 15 minute ride which is perfect for small children, there are miniature Florida towns along the ride and the kids loved it.
We then went to the other side of the park and the kids enjoyed the splash pad as well.
There were nice walking trails and lots of bike trails as well.
We will definitely visit again - just a 5 Parking fee.

My brother walks here daily and I recently joined him while visiting. It is a really beautiful park with paths throughout. There is a good amount of wildlife to view (especially bird) along the lake path. The community gardens are fun to see. It is wonderful to see the community utilize this space. There is an amazing playground for kids too. You can rent paddleboats, canoes and four wheel bikes for 2 - 4 people. There is a train ride available during certain times of the day and a Farmers Market on Wednesday's. There is a $1 per hour cost for parking. So much to see and do!

We LOVE the Lakes Park Farmers' Market. Here you can find everything from honey and pasta, to fresh baked goods and authentic BBQ. Sometimes you can even find pure Vermont maple syrup there!

I go at least weekly to the farmers market on Wednesday followed by a walk. This park is great for walking, biking and fishing. A water park for young children as well.

Excellent place for daily walks. So many trails and so much to see. The beauty makes me feel I'm walking next to God's Handprints on our world!

Cruised around half of the lake on one of the Craig Cats and was able to see lots of birds and two 8-10 ft. alligators sunning on a small island. Also rented one of the "bike buggies". The young man who helped us with the rentals was excellent.

My family visited Lakes Park to take in the Weds
Farmers Market, which other than the traffic congestion and lack of parking, we really enjoyed. We then explored the rest of the park...and there is so much fun stuff for families to do. The train ride was a big hit for us. And nature is right at your doorstep with easy viewing of birds and gators. Easy to highly recommend!

This is our favorite park to take the grand kids. You can enjoy the playgrounds, picnic areas, splash pads, walking/running trails, wildlife viewing, cycling, fishing, gardens and more. We love to take the young kids on a 1/8th scale railroad train (fee) for a mile-long trip through beautiful lakes. Parking Fee is $1 per hour or $5 per day. Dogs are not permitted at this park.

Excellent park - no pets just a nice walking area. Great children’s area and plenty of walking paths

Great place to rent bicycles, canoes, paddle boats etc. Seasonal farmers market. Walk, run. Playgrounds. You must pay for parking- bring singles or cc.

First, we walked around the farmer's Market to purchase fresh fruits and veggies, and then we walked around the lake park area. We saw beautiful birds, air plants and more birds and a turtle. Very relaxing and impressive place. There were lots of bikers, too!

We were staying at the nearby Amavida complex, which is directly connected to this park. We walked several times on the nice paths and enjoyed the lakes and very friendly people.

Great place to walk or cycle round either by the lakes or through the trail paths. Lots of wildlife to see and great photo opportunity.

We go to Lakes Park for the farmers market on Wednesdays then walk some trails. It’s a beautiful park and we usually see birds, turtles and alligators if we are lucky. You can rent bikes or boats if you want. There is a children’s playground and plenty of green space to even fly a kite. Parking is only $1 per hour or $5 for the day. The only negative is that you cannot bring dogs. We do still live to come here anyway.

We are renting a short distance away and thought it would be a great area to walk. There are several foot paths and picnic areas here. You can also rent paddle boats, kayaks and pedal type cars. There is much to see including birds and fish. Plus there is a locomotive near by and a miniature one that kids/adults can ride on.

Family friendly Park with ample parking, walking trails, biking trails, bird watching and picnic facilities. There are many attractions for family fun, such as train rides, paddle boat, canoe and kayak, and bicycle rental. Picnic shelters and refreshment centers available throughout the park. A great place for adventure for the whole family from infants to adults.

I take my son to this park often. It is great with plenty to do.y only complaint is that the playgrounds are perfect for older children but not for toddlers.

Nice place to walk. There are boats you can rent., A train ride (not only for children). Two person + bikes to rent.

Very nice amenities. Enjoyed walking around it. Was cold when we went but had water play areas for kids that look like fun in summer.

Great place to walk and on wednesdays shop at the farmers market. Lots of birds by the lake for kids there is a fun trainnto ride around the park and a playground.

This park is a local gem! There are beautiful gardens to stroll through and fitness trails. There are picnic areas and shelters.
You will want to visit this place on a Wednesday when the farmer’s market is there! No parking fee on Wednesday, otherwise it’s a dollar an hour or $5 a day.

A hidden gem that you should not miss with your family especially if you have younger grand children. The Train ride was especially fun for a small fee. In addition, great play ground equipment and the water features with jets and sprays from several directions were very much fun for our little ones on a warm day. We highly recommend the park. Don't wait 10 years to go like we did.

Wonderful park for all ages. Kids can enjoy the water spouts and sprays. They also have a swing and climbing section. Farmer's market is held Wednesday.'There are also bikes and paddleboats to rent. Pavilions are scathered thru out.

We went to the park to rent and ride bikes, but after being there and seeing the trails, we decided to walk instead. There is a nice paved pathway around the lake and there are plenty of other walking trails to explore as well. We brought our lunch. There are plenty of eating areas to choose from. There are pavilions as well as out of the way single tables.
We came back the next day to finish seeing everything we didn't see on the first day.
I would highly recommend.

Lakes Park is a wonderful piece of greenery in South Fort Myers. There are multiple pavilions available for rental for birthday, baby showers, or just a friendly get-together. There is a playground and water park for the kiddies, and canoes and kayaks are available for rental to tour the lakes in the area. With miles of trails to walk or bike, Lakes Park is a beautiful spot for anybody who enjoys the outdoors.

Conveniently placed benches around the lake to enjoy the view. Plenty of wild life. Visitor education boards need to be refurbished. Railroad museum quite interesting.
Train ride decorator for Christmas .
Only charge is parking.

My family and I went yesterday and we were on the bridge by the big train and we saw 6 alligators one was right next to the bridge by us and we quickly got off the bridge,There Is no fence along the trail next to the water so just be careful there were toddlers right by the water, other then that it is a very beautiful place!

Great way to see some of the Christmas lights especially if you have any mobility issues. Children would thoroughly enjoy the train ride and all the decorations.

Great park with walking/ running trails. Has places to stop to get in some exercise - pull up bars - stretching bars - sit ups, etc.
You can rent small water craft and go across the lake - wonderful nature all around. Great little water park for toddlers, you kids. you can rent bicycles as well. Good place to hold bbq's or parties in the cooler months. Play ground with swings, monkey bars etc for young kids. Great park all around.

We took our grandson to this park and he just loved it. They have a fantastic playground and water park for the kids to play in. They also have a train ride for the kids. It was awesome. My grandson did not want to leave.

This park in located in the middle of a busy area with condos overlooking part of it. There is a lake/bog with a trail around it with bridges and boardwalks. On shore there are concessions, playgrounds, watercraft and bicycle rentals running from $10-$20/hour. Restrooms are clean and there are picnic tables, some covered and some with grills. Plenty of parking, $1/hr or $5 for the day - pay at the kiosk and put the receipt on the dash.

There's something for all outdoor lovers to do. I've been here for children's birthdays and girls days. It's fun to rent a paddle boat and bikes to roam around. The kids LOVED the water park.
Bring your hats and sunglasses, towels, water, snacks, and comfy shoes! Little kids should don their suim suits to play in the water park area. There's pavilions all over with small grills to have lunch.

We stumbled upon this park while looking for things to do in the area; the train museum was our original destination. Unfortunately, the train museum was closed due to the pandemic, so instead we rented an adorable Surrey bike and rode around the park trails. We enjoyed gorgeous views, and passed many playgrounds and splash pads where families were enjoying themselves. There were also pedal boats available for rent - we thought about topping off our day with a little paddle out on the water, but we pooped out after the bike ride. Super place to explore.

I ride my bike through every week end, and it’s our Central Park for picnics and family gatherings. Easy, quiet, peaceful, safe, and touch of nature.

Great place to take the grandkids. Much to keep them busy. Be sure to take the train. Also a great place to just walk around. One of the things Lee County does well. Parks!

Found this park through Trip Advisor. It’s conveniently located to our rental condo. Beautiful walking paths with plenty of benches to accommodate someone with a disability. Today was beautiful weather and we observed a lot of birds and even watched a great Egret stalking fish! There was many activities for parents with children. One example was a train ride that was 1.5 miles. Great water park for the kids. Even if the only thing you did was to sit on a bench and people watch, you could have a great time, particularly if the weather is breezy and sunny. The best thing about this park is that it’s free!!! We’re definitely going back to Lake Park!!!

We rented a surrey, which was fun - it took us about 30 mins to get around the park one time. The roads/trails kinda narrow - beware of people with headphones walking in the middle of the trail completely oblivious (not able to hear the bell?). The kids went to the splash pad afterwards and there was a shaded area with benches. There are bathroom/changing areas nearby.

We usually hike west across the lake footbridge then south around the lake. Today we walked the fragrance garden then north along the gravel path with views of the lake area and the kids mini train, which seemed just the thing for the under 7 crowd. Good views. Of the lakes. On our way back to the main lake just north of the footbridge we watched an alligator swimming the climbing on a small rock in the middle of the lake. Lots of birds. There is a boating concession with kayaks etc. also offering various bikes and pedal powered devices for rent.

We loved the Surrey ride and gardens. The playgrounds and train are also fun for kids. The farmers market on Wednesdays November thru April is very popular.

Something for everyone. Plenty of bike paths. I regularly bike to Lakes Park and ride their scenic trails. The miniature train ride is a lot of fun for the whole family and unforgettable...its not often you get to ride a mini train through mini villages. Love this place@

Just love visiting this park. Lovely lake to walk around, lots of places to sit and eat, including barbecue places. Lots of little areas for children to play. It’s such a shame that so many of the trees have been lost since hurricane Irma but still almolvely place to visit. Lovely ice cream available.

We had a wonderful time. Well maintained, beautiful setting, lots to keep going children busy and happy. Train ride was a huge hit!!!
Playground was clean and our grandson had a blast!
Lots of parking very reasonable fee to park. Good concession was decent, clean and outdoor seating areas overlook lake. Lots of birds. Plenty to do for all ages of you like natural beauty and outdoor activities.
So happy after a disappointing outing day before.
We would go back for sure.

Oct to April outside market, food veggies and crafts. Espically fresh vegetables and seafood. Parking secret is to turn left not right into smaller lot alot closer to the action. Food availabile from several food trucks.

It has been over 20 years that I have been at this park and the only thing that I remember is the train ride and the trails around the lake. Today they seems much bigger now. It is a great place for family to get together and my grand daughter loved it. We hung at the huge playground, took that train ride through some small villages. The time was 1950...... amazing how we have grown over the years! We ended our day at the water splash and had a place. If you ever don't know what to do with your children, here is a place to go - The only thing that could use improving are the amount of parking places.

This place is great. So much to do, and a little bit of everything for everyone. My wife and I explored this place by tandem bike that you can rent by the hour and we rode through all the trails. The property is very well maintained and there are several trails that intertwine if you're up to explore the whole part as we did. Plan a few hours to really soak up all this park has to offer. Great place to picnic and enjoy nature.

So glad it's back every Wednesday I believe 9 to 1 everything from fresh produce Good Eats, jewelry clothes Etc I'll be there every Wednesday the people are just so welcoming

This is a small family friendly park with a short walking path, a lake and a small train ride for children. There are lots of options for renting bikes, kayaks, and paddle boats. There is also a splash section for small children. It is a nice diversion right in Fort Myers.
There is a fee to park or parking is free with a Lee County Beach park/beach pass. Also a ride on the train also has a fee (I believe).

Several people recommended this park as a good place to sight birds and observe nature.
So while my husband ran some errands nearby; I did a short bird walk.
In less than an hour; I saw 15 species of birds, a few Green Iguana and numerous flowering trees and bushes.
The park is kept very clean, people were polite and friendly and as a woman walking alone; I had no apprehensions.
Next time when I go back I will allow at least 2 hours to explore. It's worth it.

Beautiful huge park, water area for children, paddle boats to rent as well as bikes, beautiful flower area, nice lake, watch for the Alligator. Great place for a morning walk or run.

Nice park frequented by walkers, runners and bikers. They also offer paddle boat and surrey rentals as well as a really cool miniature train parents (and grandparents) and young children can ride. There is a wonderful Farmers Market every Wed in season. Tons of wildlife including gators. People also fish. My bike group loves to bike through the park.

I don't go here during the summer time good because it's just too warm, during the winter season when it's a lot cooler I go for my daily walks around the park, lot of scenery, small alligators, plenty of birds and wildlife but you have to keep your eyes open, bikes tricycles rentals as well as water boats you can rent out paddle boats Etc, no dogs are allowed in the park.

WE have not utilized the entire park, but it looks amazing with bike trails, kayak rentals, picnic areas, playground. We have been to the farmers market twice and it is excellent

Best park in town. Well maintained grounds. Beautiful garden section. Large park with walking and bike paths meandering through the many lakes. Great place for bird watching. Several exercise stations along the path. They offer rental bikes, paddle boats and canoes which can be rented at one of the concession stations. They have a train ride and splash pads for the little ones. Several basic, no-frills bathroom facilities. Covered pavilions - available for rental for large parties. They host local events such as a weekly farmers market and concerts. Small fee to park.

My husband and I like going to Lakes to ride our bikes. It has a nice hard surface to ride on, shared by walkers. The beautiful wildlife and natural surroundings add for a great time riding. There is a place to rent a bike or a surrey and a small water attraction for the children. Every Wednesday morning, in season, they have a Farmers Market. Check it out 👍

stopped by on the way to and from somewhere for an hour, the kids were so happy and its free. super jungle gym for an hour of fun. there is lots more to do, like water fun and trains and walking - you can spend the whole day there.

Great place for a nature walk, lots of wildlife.Farmers Market on Weds.Paddle boats also.Worth a visit.Good family outing, playland for the kids.

This is a great park to rent Surrey Bikes for 2 or 4. Rates for 4 person pedal bike carriage are about $30 an hour. You can bring your own bikes or walk.
There are paved trails nearly 4 mikes long if you do all the loops.
There is a kiddie train and water spray park. Many scenic lakes with wild life.
$2 parking via cash machine where leave stub by windshield.
A fun place for family or friends. Places to eat, sit and relax including concession stands. Last bike rental by 3pm weekdays. Go early.

This park has something for everyone in the family. Train rides and water sprinkler pads for the kids. Biking walking and jogging rails for the family. Bikes and paddle boats to rent along with a nice train museum. Wednesdays they have a great farmers market to buy your fruits and vegetables. 240 acres of fun.

This park is the bomb! There is a huge traditional playground for the kids, a passenger train, two splash pads, a little rock climbing wall, lots of pavilions to rent for parties (Some with large built in grills for big parties), a fitness trail with workout stations, paddle boats and many different styles and capacities of bikes and surries to rent. You can fish, picnic, bike, walk, or run. I'm not sure how far it is to do the whole loop around the lake and into the wooded area but it's got to be about a mile. There are plenty of benches and tables to rest as you go. The path is paved for wheelchairs, skates, skateboards etc. We're always there for the Pokemon Go stops, especially on Community Days. (It can be very busy on those days) There are two concession stands. One, even sells hot food. You'll get to see birds, turtles and alligators in the lake too! There's so much here! The only thing you can't do is bring a dog. Parking is $2 for an hour or $5 for all day. This is truly a gem.

We’ve been to Lakes Park several times and it is always a great place for relaxing and getting a bit of exercise if you want it.
We go with friends and often rent a four person bike to go around the paths. It’s never crowded. There are bikes to ride, boats to paddle walks to be walked and a train ride for the little kids. This is a great place to go for a picnic or to play your ukulele.

I’ve gone a few times and now that I’ve got the layout down, I must say, it’s a great park with lots to do and cover. The biking paths are substantial as well as the bike rentals you can choose from and the on site railroad museum and caboose rides, the community garden, the hiking paths and bird watching, its plentiful indeed.
Great any time and the weekly, seasonal fatmers market on Wednesdays from October thru June from 9am - 1pm is a must go for some great bites and drinks.

Great park with all the amenities you need. Cute little train that is free for the kids (with a paid adult for $5) there is a nice park by the train for the kids. To the left when you ever is a splash pad and another playground. There are ple ty of pavilions to have a family outing as well. Park also has bike trails and walking trails around the lake and they allow fishing. You can also rent paddle boats.

Good trip and very wonderful landscape...You could see Many party during Halloween party...You could rent boat on lake and see Aligator...

We have been going to lakes park for year for events and birthday party's. You can rent bikes for 1 person for 4 seater bikes for the family. They have a mini train ride they is always fun. they do also host seasonal events like concerts.

Very lovely, well-maintained, and huge park! It is just simply so nice to see dedicated parks in the Fort Myers area rather than housing developments! Someone mentioned a butterfly garden, but I did not come across it. There is a large variety of gorgeous flowers in full bloom this time of year! The boardwalk and various walking trails are great for walking, jogging, bike rentals, and photography! A dollar an hour to park, which is reasonable and worth it!

We have been going here for a couple of years now. Last Wednesday we bought what we thought was fresh fruit. It was anything but fresh. Most of the vendors are resellers not fresh from the farm. You would do better at your local grocery store. We will not be going back.

The walk is lovely through the gardens and around the lake. You might even see an alligator sunning himself. There is a fee to park. There's a Fun play park for children with free water park. Weekly Farmers Markets. Bike rentals to ride around lake. Even a 6 seater buggy to ride. Those are hard to peddle because you are laughing to hard. You will find a small train for the young to enjoy. Great entertainment location for just the fee to park.

The park is nice and center located in Fort Myers. They Have a nice trail around the park for biking or running. It essentially surrounds a large lake. You can rent for wheeled bicycles and paddling boats for the lake. There are two large play area is for children.
In the center of the park there’s a large grassy field where you can run or play football or soccer.
They have small shelters you can rent in advance to barbecue and have get-togethers and parties. On Halloween, Christmas and other holidays they have a children’s train that takes you through some holiday decorations through the park.
Over all of this is the place to get away and be in the outdoors.

One of my fave places for an early morning run, delivers on a whole other level when the nieces and nephew come for a visit ( ages 7,5 & 3) . With its brilliant playgrounds, lovely paved trails ( perfect for bikes & scooters) around the Lakes, numerous wildlife sightings ( including a good size gator), splash park and of course the train ride. A great way to spend a half day outside with the kids .

Lots of places for kids to play. Water park for the very little tots. Bike and walking trails with lots of shade trees. Dont forget your hat.

This is a cute park. I wouldn't call it a destination but if you are in the area and looking for something to do outdoors it's a great place. Entrance is free. Just $1 per hour parking. Lots of stuff for the kids to do. Nice boardwalks for adult walking. We easily spent a couple of hours walking around. We were there after 5 so things like the train, concessions were closed. Might be more going on during the day.

Although my wife and I enjoy riding through the park and its trails, it is probably more suited for a family outing. There are lots to see and do as this park contains a little something for everyone. Nice lakes, lots of wildlife, covered shelters and kids play areas.

Great family fun. Scenic walking path, biking and boating are available. Kids will love the train, children's garden and water features. Farmer's Market on Wednesdays, Oct.-April, is full of wonderful produce, breads, candles and awesome smoothie stand.

We were in the Fort Myers area over Christmas 2018. We needed to find a place for children to play around while we were there.
This park was perfect for us. There is a large playground, bouncing castles ($), a train ride ($), and a splash pad we enjoyed. It was also nice looking at the local wildlife while we had our lunch.
We ended up returning a couple of times because of how much fun we had.

Very large park with plenty to do. Train rides to exibits and multiple parks within plus many other things. A must. Reminds me of big city parks

This park is lovely. It has little bridges to walk or ride bikes over, a train ride for children to enjoy, splash pads, rental bikes. Flower gardens around to enjoy. On Wednesdays from Oct- April The farmers market is open and very, very busy. There are different events during the years prior to the Covid interrupting things. The lake is fun to watch to see if there might be alligators swimming around. There are always birds to see. Picnic areas are available. There is a fee for parking except for the time of the Farmers Market which we go to nearly weekly.

Lakes park is a wonderful place for families or anyone else. You can kayak, rent bikes or surveys. There's a train that goes around for toddlers and a playground. There are so many birds to see as well as other wetland animal. It's in the middle of the city so after a few hours you can easily get something to eat or go shopping or to the beach. Great place for a morning or afternoon visit.

I go here nearly everyday to walk. It has a kiddy playland and water park for young children. But there are a couple of trails for walking, skating, and cycling which I enjoy tremendously. It is home to many birds and a few gators, so you are not allowed to bring pets.

Spread out amongst several lake areas. OK rest room facilities. Farmers market on Wednesday mornings. Good place to take the kids.

Whether you’re interested in hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, birdwatching, or picnicking, Lee County’s 279-acre Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers, Florida offers it all in droves. Kids will love the rock climbing wall, playground, water feature playground (splash park) and the Miniature Railroad and Train Village. Miniature Railroad offers a 1.5-mile ride around a portion of the lake through a natural setting and ride through a tunnel.

Many lakes with trail. Wildlife abound and the birds come to roost at sunset. A wonderful fun train and museum. Lots of picnic areas. Chance to see Alligators. Good place for family. Bob

Love this place... saw many birds, turtles and even an alligator. Great gem in the Fort Myers community.

I just returned from one of many Lakes Park walks that guarantee great exercise and people watching. You can walk or bike ride at your own pace and chat with folks of all ages enjoying the same, It features a wonderful Farmers market every Wednesday.

I had not visited since Irma went through and her powers are observable in the fact that almost all of the islands lost their trees. That said it is a peaceful stroll once you get away from the areas that provide family activities. This is late for large birds but i did see Egrets, White Ibis, Woodland Stork and Anhingas. Saw some ducks, American Coot, Moorhen, Grackles and Red-Winged Blackbirds. In the four-legged genre swamp hares and squirrels were present. But I also found many photographic opportunities that did not include any of the above. Entry fee is per vehicle per hour and is done by machine. All day is $5.00 per vehicle.

This park was very well maintained. It was perfect for kids (smaller kids) it had 2 splash pads. Butterfly garden. We rented a bike and did the reain ride with the kids. It is a must do if you have little ones

Trip Advisor lists this as one of the Top 10 parks to take your pet in Florida…there is a problem… The Lakes does NOT allow pets to visit. My Yorkies were very disappointed.

This was our second visit and the first post hurricane Irma. The trees on the little islands are all gone but it is still such a beautiful park. Today we explored the flower gardens with plants from all over the world...very cool
Parking is very cheap, only $1/hour.

We go to Lakes Park quite often. It’s a beautiful park to that offers many opportunities to walk, bike ride, fish, picnic, splash pad for kids, rent a surrey, rent a boat or just enjoy nature. There are various gardens, open fields, sand volleyball courts. It is very clean and well kept.
The lakes have a huge boardwalk that crosses over and has beautiful fountains.
It normally has a little children’s train and merry go round but those are currently not running due to the pandemic.
There is plenty of parking ($).
Offers farmers market on Wednesday.

We were looking for something to do outside on a cool day in February. After searching around I found this park, and we could rent bikes to ride around the park. It was a lot of fun and a good way to get some exercise. They had single bikes, double bikes, and quad bikes. Great time, and a beautiful park.

I have spent many many hours at this park, as far back as 15 years ago, taking my young daughter at the time to play in this park. Great playgrounds and we still go ride the mini train!! a yearly tradition. Many times we have had our family Thanksgiving dinners here, renting a covered picnic area. Often enjoying a bike ride or canoeing. Love this park and it is very well maintained. Also a water park area!

Visited with our family & loved all the great playgrounds & splash pads for the kids! Took the cool train ride & really enjoyed it- a must do if you visit! Train is $5 for age 5 & up, and parking is $5 per day. Well worth it. We hoped to eat lunch there but concession stand was not well staffed so we just grabbed a packaged ice cream to go. I would recommend bribing a picnic- lots of shaded areas to eat.

Took the grandchildren to the park and had a wonderful day. Be sure to bring an umbrella for sun shade though there are covered areas they go fast. Lots of things to do to keep kids entertained.

Came here while we needed to kill time before heading to the airport. The park is beautiful and big. My boyfriend and I️ enjoyed just walking around and talking. It seems like a great place to take the kids, there are splash parks and jungle gyms all over the place. You can also rent bikes, tandem bikes, kayaks, and canoes. Definitely a fun way to spend a nice afternoon. We came on a Wednesday and they just closing up a little farmers market in the parking lot. I️ wish we would have gotten there earlier, it looked like there was a lot of good stuff offered there as well, such as fresh fruit and veggies, food truck, and little homemade crafts. Come on a Wednesday morning if you want to see this.

Very relaxing Walk through the park, might see a number of wildlife and different floral. They have paddle boats and train rides. The fee to park is $1.00 an hour they also have a Farmers market on Wednesdays from 9 to 1 no fee for parking,so you can walk then Shop,or just walk.

Beautiful park for young and old alike. Rental bikes, surreys and food available and an awesome miniature sit upon train ride.

Great area for families or to just sit in park and read alone. Loved this place and it's amenities as well as the ones that look like they are working on right now.

Great day and great place to take a nice walk, might see Gators and all kind of wildlife.Farmers Market on Wednesday keeps you from having to pay the hourly rate which I believe is $1.Good way to spend a few hours, bikes are also permitted.

Great for a small train ride, play ground and walk with toddlers. Very busy in Farmers Market day—-a great market by the way!
Well maintained and pretty setting.

There really is so much to do at this park. Huge play area, bounce houses ($), train ride (kids under 5 free, otherwise $6/pp) that takes about 15min and goes around the lake and grounds. Children's garden, surrey bike and boat rentals ($). We saw alligators, birds and turtles. Likely best for kids under 10. Nominal fee for parking and great 1/2 day visit.

We spent a very active day here for Labour Day Saturday. The park was busy with family parties. The facilities are excellent, including the train, the splash area, the swings and walks. I can recommend this place highly. As a British visitor, it is most impressive to see how well maintained the park is.

Our favorite place in Fort Myers. The walking areas are superb. There are loads of gorgeous views and wildlife along the many trails available. There are boats, buggies and bikes to rent, several play areas for the kids and plenty of parking. On Wednesday there is a farmer's market that is outstanding. Definitely a place to visit in Fort Myers.

Wonderful county park in a central location in Fort Myers. Cute train ride with miniature replicas of area buildings for extra fee. Special rides at Halloween and Christmas. Train museum with running trains. Children's garden with interesting percussion instruments to play. Lots of places to picnic, bicycle, and walk. Farmer's Market on Wednesdays.

Large park great for jogging, biking, blading or just a stroll. Park offers rental bikes, gazebos with grills, and pig roast, as well as waterpark for kids and holiday train rides.
Highly recommend to people that need to relax during the week.

Beautiful, sprawling natural park. Amazing variety of gardens, (succulents, fragrance, community, children's, etc.). Miles of walking/biking paths. Beautiful natural preserve with birds, turtles, alligators, fish, and plenty of other wildlife. Canoe, pedal boat, tandem, and rickshaw style bikes rentals. Great railroad museum, railroad-themed park, a miniature train ride through the park, and children's water play zones makes this not only a must to visit but fun for everyone of every age!

There are kayak and paddleboat ad bicycle rental , walking trails, farmers market on Wednesdays. Pavilions to rent for parties and playgrounds and splashpads for you get kids. You have to pay hourly parking but it is only $1 hour. We go often all year!

I have been going to this park for years, took my nephew running when he was young there, Now last week i showed my wife, What a beautiful place, we saw two alligators, turtle, all kinds of birds, This park has it all, trails for biking, walking, little water park, Lee county you do a great job with this natural jewel . Do not want to go back to philadelphia. Will be living near park soon.

We feel so lucky to have Lakes Park, with its great walking/biking path, scenery, picnic areas and bird population. It's well-maintained and a really wonderful place to spend time in the outdoors right in the heart of town.

The place overall was perfect. There is a train that goes around the whole place that is relaxing and nice. There is also pedal golf carts that we went on that were perfect for some small exercise. Scenery was also beautiful.

We have been to lakes twice as a family when visiting Fort Myers. My son loves this park. They have a huge playground for the kids to play at. The train rides are also a must. This time we did the holliday ride at night which was alot of fun. I'm sure we will be visiting this park many more times when we fly into town!

This is a great park area with cheap parking. The water splash areas are nice on hot days to cool off after playing on the playgrounds. The park is sprawling enough to need to drive from one end to the other. Sometimes we’ve done that in the car and sometimes we’ll rent a bike. Going here on vacation is a tradition.

Worth a visit, nice walking paths, splash pad and bike rentals. And good picnic areas. Not pet friendly. ☹️no pets allowed.

Great venue for just a stroll, bike ride, children’s playground, botanical gardens and much much more! Small food concession and plenty of shaded picnic areas as well and you can reserve the covered spots for special occasions!

A big beautiful park with hiking and biking trails. A great big lake and many activities. They have a superb Farmers Market there every week.

Lakes Park is one of the best kept secrets in Fort Myers. It is quiet with beautiful paved walkways that meander around small lakes. They rent bikes for individuals and the big family bike/carts. Best of all, you feel at home.

I live in the high rise on the edge of the park. The view is tremendous. The lakes seem to go on forever. Lots of areas for picnics for individuals or groups. I've been through the park many times. Great place to bring the family. Bike rental is available as well as canoes. There is a "kiddie" train that carries adults as well as small children around the lakes. My favorite time to take the train myself is at Christmas because of all the hundreds of decorations that line the railway. Entrance to the park is free as well as parking. Small charge for the train. Some food is available as well. Make this a sure stop.

We had an evening picnic here with co-workers it was great
Very pretty sights, wild life , birds, boating, water park

I love walking here. You have a paved path surrounded by nature with different stopping areas with exercise stations. Lakes Park also has a splash pad, playgrounds, beautiful gardens, a train to ride, and a concession areas. Plus you have a number of pavilions to hold events in.

Lakes Park is a true jewel. It is an oasis in the midst of development craziness, New housing to accomodate the flocks of snowbirds and service workers who support the influx has bracketed the park on all sides, but this remainis a peacefull retreat. Thank God the former county commissioners saw fit to plan for the future. Walking trails, beautiful water views, a real treat during the week.

We have been going to this park since the kids were little. Nice playgrounds, two splash pad areas, trails, bike rentals, shelter rentals and a fun train that they decorate for the holidays.

This appears to be a city maintained park. You have to pay to park at kiosks around the lots. You can bike or walk in at no charge. We didn't see many birds, but we visited in the middle of the day.

We have been here several times for our Challenger baseball. Big park with ample parking. No dogs allowed so make sure you don’t bring them 😞. Great place for kids to run around and let off some energy

We love this park and all the great trails within it. You can book a covered area for a family get together or just show up and use one of their many bbq's. You can walk or bicycle the many paths. My only complaint is that the water park is closed in December and January.

Been going for years...great for walks, bike rides, canoeing...
Nice holiday functions and great pavilions for parties..rent them early!

Fun little train ride for the kids - $5/person seemed a little expensive, I would say $2 is more reasonable.

Park is lovely, family friendly and well maintained but they do not cater to dog owners which pretty much rules it out for a weekend destination for us. It's a shame since there aren't too many pet friendly parks in this town.
Our dogs are our family and i see no point in going to a park if we can't have them with us.

Lakes Park has been a favorite of ours since my son was an infant. We always rent a surrey bike (think golf cart that’s pedaled like a bicycle). They have seatbelts into a basket seat on front for little ones. You can pedal all around the various paved trails, then return the surrey and enjoy lunch or an ice cream at the Whistle Stop Cafe. Then, head over to the train museum where your school aged kids can enjoy driving a train with switches and levers as they watch the response to their actions on the virtual train on the screen. Then go for a ride on a real mini-train as it winds through a mile and a half of miniature villages. There are two splash pads for the kiddos to cool off, so bring swimsuits and a towel. And, there’s a huge train themed playground structure to climb on. They are also building a children’s garden, but that isn’t complete yet. If you have a day you want to fill with little kids, Lakes Park is wonderful. But, even adults would enjoy the surrey bike, kayak rentals, or paddleboat rentals.

Kids always have fun. Great splash pads. Enjoy the train ride and it's only $5. Multiple playgrounds are for all ages.

we were invited to a BBQ and it was surprising to us they had equipment rentals . We have been back with the kids biking around the track by the lake. Good times

In the midst of unremarkable urban landscape you find an oasis of nature - lakes with lots of life in them: birds, reptiles, fish.

Lakes park is a beautiful park for walking and would recommend this place. They have farmers market every Wednesday.

Enjoyed a pleasant walk, and viewing of several local birds. Nice level walking paths, picnic areas, and places to enjoy outdoor activities.

Kids have a lot of fun with water and all kinds of vehicles. Great landscape
Amazing food market, no entrance fees for that

Lakes Regional always has something going on, including Farmers Market, Railroad Museum, bike and pedal buggy rentals as well as a really nice kids play area.

This is one of the most beatiful.parks in the florida. You have a lot of things to do is really big my family love this place we were here many times in summer they can go under the water rent a bicycle run and believe it or not take a nap there's a nice ferrocarril so you can be transported to several places in the area

This park is a refuge in the middle of the city. A true Fort Myers treasure!!! You can enjoy scenic strolls, kayak/canoe excursions, and bicycling!

We took my son and wife with there 2 year old son. There was entertainment for old and young. The train ride was very interesting and the quad bike held all of us so we could easily view the park ,wild life and play grounds.
Highly recommend for a daytime outing.

Wanted to go for a walk with my husband and small dog, but no dogs allowed in the park…. Did not mention this on Google or on website. Traffic is bad enough in ft Myers… waisted 45 min trying to get to the park

Large park where you can walk, ride a bike or go for a run. Plenty of trails and rentals if you want to go boating or ride a bike. They have a great splash water park for the kiddies. You can buy something to eat or snack on. There is a cool little ride on train for all ages. Plenty off playgrounds and pavilions fr parties.Ample shade if ou need some. Huge lake for fishing. More than enough parking for a small charge.

Lovely park with a lot of activities (railroad museum, train ride, rent boats and bikes) and the kids loved it. The railroad museum is worth a visit. When we visited there was a farmers market.

I've taken grandkids, nieces and nephews, young and old to this park. There's something for everyone: cool playground for kids; train museum (free) with some hands-on activities and ride for all ($5 for train ride); picnic tables; bikes to rent and nice bike path; walking trails; kayaking or paddle boating; snack shops; kids' water pad with fun features, and / or a great place to sit and read a book!

The foot paths are wide and paved. Often, they are lined with trees. Families and groups can rent covered eating and cooking areas and there are many attractions for children.

We visited Lakes Park for the second time recently. We had our 4 and 2 year old children with us and they enjoyed this experience. First we played on the playground, which is shaped like a train and provides lots of interesting structures for younger kids--I'd say up to age 8 or 10. Then we took a ride on the little train that goes through a model village. Both kids loved this. We had hotdogs at the concession stand and watched the turtles swimming below. Last we rented one of the "Flinstones" style bicycles and toured around the nature trails. Both kids were sad to leave. This is a great low-key option. On a weekday in March, there were not too many people there so we didn't have to wait for anything. We didn't visit the splash ground since it was a cooler day, but that is a great addition to the park for warmer weather.

This is an outstanding example of good tax dollar use. This park has it all with over 300 acres of fun. Many lakes, trails, fishing, nature path, gardens, bikes, water craft, railroad, museum, snack bars, picnic areas and amphitheater.. and more! I have never seen a better park!

Wonderful park, walking path, biking, playground for kids, picnic AreS, kids miniature train, ice cream and snack stand, beautiful gardens..... Wednesday Farmers market!

We needed a nice walk after our long plane ride to Ft Myers and this was the perfect place. They also have bikes, peddle boats, kayaks, and a tropical flower garden.

This is a beautiful park. The farmers market on Wednesday ‘s is great . Tons of fresh fruits , vegetables, flowers , cheeses, seafood , etc. There are also wonderful food trucks : french, german , mexican to name a few . Parking is free during the market hours . On non market days it is s great place to walk , ride bikes , play in the sprinklers and playground , bird and alligator watch . Well worth the $1.00 per hour to park !!!

nice park with good walking and riding trails. great pavillions with built in barbeque pits big enough for 60 - 80 for rent. good venue for company gatherings or reunions. improvements to park now in progress so even better.

If you are in the Fort Myers area with small children, this park should definitely be on your list of things to do. We have taken our grandchildren there every year, and they love the splash pads, playground and especially the train ride. We have never gone at Christmas time but we heard that is a great time to go....especially in the evening, for the night time train ride with all the lights and Christmas decorations. There is a fee for the train ride.

very nice bike trails. lots of wild life, and peaceful & beautiful gardens, great playgrounds for kids, nice picnic area

We love visiting Lakes R Park !!! We always see awesome birds, turtles, fish and sometimes alligators. It’s a very safe and great place to walk for exercise. It’s beautiful, even after Irma. ☀️ Great for the whole family...especially if you have young ones!!!

I love this place. Great for parties, hiking, biking and walking. I have witnessed people fishing although I am not sure it's allowed. Always clean and fun. Highly recommend.

Went on Wednesday for outstanding Farmers Market. Returned on Saturday with grandchile to ride the mini-train, bike and walk the boardwalk. All very pleasant and reasonably priced.

We were lucky enough to stay at a luxury condo on our vacation with direct access to Lakes Regional Park. We walked EVERY day in Lakes Park and it was a delight! There is parking for day-trippers and SO much to do. Kayak and paddle boat rentals, a train ride, miles of paved walking/biking paths and plenty of places to relax!
The Farmer's Market on Wednesday (in season) is a MUST! Bring a tote bag because you're going to need it.
Oh! And restrooms are readily available and CLEAN as is the entire park! Friendly staff and lots of wildlife!

The last hurricane took out many trees so except for the farmers market I see little reason to go there.

This is a gorgeous park to relax with nature. Has a great walking path along the natural habitats of birds, plants, and animals. A great way to end our day.

We have a great time when family and friends visit we always have a picnic and a great walk after. Might be a good idea to call they did suffer damage due to Irma

Took two 10 year old girls here for their first visit. They really enjoyed the train ride and museum. Rented a surrey, they did get their exercise!!!!!

The moment you enter you will see signs of no dogs allowed. We still went in to drive around a to check it out. We had our windows down so our daughter can see and our dog was also by the window when all or a sudden a women yelled at us "No dogs allowed!" Everything has a fee even parking and it's by the hour.

Walking trails, short or long, children activities, plenty of feathered friends. And maybe even a alligator or two.
What more an you ask for?
Sit and read by the lake as the birds swim, fly or sit near you. Walk the maintained patches through what seems like a large forest. Travel through the park on the mini railroad. Kids will love the bounce house, the butterfly house. Bring their bathing suits and lit them cool off under the sprinklers especially built for them.
Next rent a bike, or tandem bike, or carriage and pedal away.

First time in the park. Planned to visit the railroad museum and take the train ride as 3 adults. Richard, the volunteer in the railroad museum, was very informative and friendly. The train ride, to our delight, had comfortable padded seating. Cute 1 mile ride around the ponds and through the park. The concession stand looked nice with various rentals available like surreys. The children's playground was quite large, although we had no children with to really experience it. Paths looked well maintained. Will definitely want to return.

We arrived and immediately heard common gallinules. We saw many gallinules, great blue herrons, boat-tailed grackles, and anhingas. We also saw a glossy ibis, several white ibis, tri-colored herons, and little blue herons. We probably saw a yellow-cronwed night heron. The paths are wide and crowded with families and bird watchers. You can rent a variety of boats and peddle powered vehicles. There is a very attractive, large free playground. The inflatables and the train ride are not free. It is a big park with lots to do. Parking is $1 per hour or $5 all day.

The had a wonderful farm market with lots of fruits and veggies. We pick up corn and it was very sweet. Also meatballs. They had all kinds of food to chose from

enjoyed the bike trails, espeially the shady tropical jungle feel of the trail to the left, fun water/splash zone for kiddos to cool off, Community Garden is a beautiful walk.

Lake Park is an exciting and fun place for children especially young ones. The quaint train ride, the large safe playground areas are exceptional. Not to mention the boating and family cycling activity makes for a special day. The sprinklers add a special touch for a hot day in the Sun. Bring sandwiches and drinks and eat under the many covered picnic tables throughout the Park.

My husband and I visited Lakes Regional Park a few days ago. We brought our bikes on this trip to Florida and enjoyed this morning on the simple, easy trails at this park. Saw an alligator sunning on a rock out in the water. There's a bridge that goes over the middle of the lake. The tiny train is just adorable as it takes passengers on a little ride. You can rent paddle boats and bicycles built for 4. There's a huge play area for kids, and a simple circuit of exercise areas for grown ups. Before we left we stopped at the snack shop for ice cream. Surroundings maintained very nicely. Spent about two hours. Recommend to everyone.

So much fun. Both hubby and I tend to appreciate the finer attractions where we do not have to break a sweat but this time around we did not mind. We rented a bicycle and took our six and 20 month old on a tour of the park. We stopped to play in the fantastic playground, opted not to partake in the jumpy castles and train. Albeit, sorry we did not go on the train, but they were boarding and we hadn’t bought tickets. You can also rent boats. We then by-passed the water play area but went to the toddler park. All in all, the whole family enjoyed the day. The all day parking pass wasn’t necessary but it can be passed along to the next parker. Would definitely come back.

a really nice way to spend the day. Take your bike, take a ride along the trails. If you like to fish be sure to bring your pole. Even the little train ride is fun.

We loved this park. Great walking track for the family or solo. Very family friendly atmosphere. Of all the parks in Ft. Myers, this one is in the top 5 for us and it is great if you have kids. Not many restroom options, but overall a complete win win. The squirrels are creepy friendly, but probably form visitors feeding them. A nice, clean and safe park.

Took the train ride and that was nice. The grounds did suffer from the hurricane but they are doing a great job of cleaning it up. Great to bring kids to fun rides and playground.

Fun place for the family. Kids will love the train especially during a holiday (Halloween or Christmas).

best place to spend time with kids , and missing all those evenings and eagerly waiting to pass this pandemic over.

We visited this park with family and grandkids and had a blast! Our grandson loves trains we were able to ride the small train that goes through the park. The route was cutely decorated for the Holidays and made it even more fun. We heard it was even better at night with all the lights. We also rented a surrey and pedaled around the park on other pathways. It was quite a workout so of course we had to get ice cream at the concession building on the water and were able to see a small alligator right from the dock. We also visited the small train museum which was free and the kids loved playing on the awesome playground too. It was a perfect afternoon!

What a great family friendly park. The playground area is extensive and then the walking trails and boardwalks are very nice. Great place to spend the morning.

beautiful green treasure with water, playgrounds and a train museum. (always a good time). they also offer special events.

Nice park for the family. Walk around the lake or rent one of their bicycles. Nice little train for the kiddies as well as water sprinklers.
Picnic shelters / grills

I've gone there frequently for walks, private parties, and bike rides. The playgrounds are expansive and fun, walking/riding trails extensive. Farmer's Market in the summer is great. Fun train ride and water play as well as paddle boats and bike surreys. Highly recommended when it opens again!

This is a large place in the middle of Ft Myers. Lots of parking and activities to do solo or with a group. Well kept up grounds. I am considering volunteering here!

A real nice park adjacent to the beautiful Reflection Key Condominium on Summerlin Road which is next door which was land developed as a mixed use master planned community by Wolanin Companies Ltd that also built the Chico's World Headquarters, and various buildings at the Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW).
The park has a farmers market on Friday, a train ride around the park, running and walking areas, plus a place to picnic outdoors. It is a wonderful public place for the whole family.
Every once in awhile there is also a major concert held at the park.
Give the park a try for sure you will enjoy it.
5/5

We went to the park on the day of the farmer’s market. It was so nice to be able to walk and see the local vendors and produce and have some great food while there as well. We rented a 6-person pedal bike for an hour and the kids (and us parents) had a blast! Plenty of pathways to ride and then a great playground for a great ending to a wonderful trip!

Great place for a picnic or a walk or to rent a little boat to go on the water. Oct they have some fun things going on including the train ride to see lights they have this over the holidays as well. There are some wonderful gardens some with fragrance I have a friend I push in a wheelchair around. She loves it! There are lots of birds and on Weds a farmers market!

I met up with friends in the park. It was beautiful as ever. The park is always well kept up. Clean bathrooms and the grounds are kept up from accumulating garbage. The wildlife is always plentiful. The diversity in vegetation and the wildlife is refreshing to experience. I VERY much enjoy brining my camera and stay for a while. Sunset is a wonderful time to be amoung the wildlife. Birds galore!!! Hope you will stop by. It’s well worth it!

This place is a gem. Massive park with plenty of activities for families. They have a train ride for younger children and now the park has a Halloween Theme. Also, check out the farmers market on Wednesday’s.

This is probably the best park of the many excellent parks in Lee County. Train ride available for everyone is great fun but check if running. Water park and jungle gym is fun. Plenty of parking for a fee.

Can't say enough about Lakes Park! It's great for walking, riding your bike and fabulous for the grandchildren! Brought our granddaughter there last week. She not only played under their water spouting animals and climbed on play gym and swings, but rode on the Easter train! She had a ball!

Very much worth the visit. The peddle surrey gives your legs a work out. Enjoyed the day there, would go again.

Since moving to Fort Myers two years ago, my family has loved visiting Lakes Park, walking around, playing on the splash pad and playground, having picnics here, and just today we discovered the community garden and the train rides and museum. What a wonderful place and an essential place to go for anyone, whether visiting or a resident

We were here with our daughter and family.
We all loved the train ride, and our grandsons really liked the train museum and playground. The park is very clean, and there is much to do!

A park for all ages. Fabulous children's area. Pavilions and barbeque. Clean rest rooms. Beautiful walkways and bridges. Has bird sanctuary. New children's gardens opening soon.

Very nice and well kept park. All walking trails are paved and easy to walk. Activities for all ages.

What a great farmers market! So many vendors! So much to buy and to eat! Samples and lots of great buys!!! Seafood, fruits and vegetables, French crepes and a breakfast truck that is amazing! Way too much to list but it is really worth the trip. Maverick Meats to die for! Some of the best sirloin steaks we have ever eaten! Free parking for the market which takes place from 9:00 to 1:00 on Wednesday’s. I am thrilled with this market! It’s awesome!!

I have been there several times and have always enjoyed it. Picnics, with my grand-daughter and holiday events. With my grand-daughter, there is nothing better than seeing it again through the eyes of a youngster.

This is a great looking park that can make a nice date for two , riding bikes off the beaten path to have a romantic picnic by the water finished with a paddle or mini motorized boat around the lake. You can also bring the kids and have a great time with biking, boating, train rides, play grounds and cooking pavilions. like i said, great time for all or sweet time for two:)

Beautiful park. Never get tired of it. Great way to spend a few hours. Variety of birds and some alligators (if you are lucky), nice paths for walking or biking. Love this park!

This is a phenomenal park! From the water features, to the walking trails, fishing. The ponds, the train ride for the kids, the train museum and simulator. You can rent bikes, kayaks and little paddle boats. It’s really unlike any park our family has been to. It’s a must if you have kids. It’s always packed with people. There is plenty of shaded areas and parking. The little train that you can ride on runs every 15 minutes. It’s about 16 miles long and is a relaxing way to get to see the park.

We spent the day at Lake Park with 4 children ages 2-9 and 5 adults. The kids LOVED the playground by the train station. We all took a train ride which was fun for all and well put together. Then we ate lunch and watched the alligators in the pond. We didn’t have time to see it all that day but I look forward to taking my daughter back to the splash pad and renting the bikes.

Lovely family friendly and safe park.
The rental bike was old and didn't work well ($20). The electric boat didn't work well and was not as described.
($40). The guy admitted it didn't work well but charged us full price. I recommend the park. I dont recommend renting any equipment.

Sunday walks with nature. I love walking all around this want park. Things for everyone to do. Paddleboating, biking, fishing, walking and barbecuing. Great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Family, friends or alone

A complete experience for two as we biked miles of trails with great scenery and wild life.
A great day as the children's train circles the park.
A great relaxing workout.

Great playground for kids. Nice for walking or bicycling. Snack bar and covered picnic tables near lake make for an enjoyable lunch. Old historical train is really fun for picture taking. If you don't feel like walking, there is a little train that takes you around park. There is a small fee. Parking is also not free. In summer, they have water features for children to splash in. Very pretty area that makes you forget you are in Fort Myers.

Me and my husband go all the time. It’s a very nice safe park with good trails for running, biking or walking. We always enjoy going. The facility by the bike rentals are the cleanest. They have so much to do there. I know we will continue to use lakes park for years to come.

So I won’t be coming back because of the park rangers for one they’re unprofessional to the highest level. My best friend had a bday party for her 4 year old. When I arrived I had ice cream and many things frozen to unload.. it’s florida in July!!! So as soon as I parked I ran over to our tables to drop the ice cream I than ran over to the booth to pay for parking as I’m there paying someone says the ranger is giving you a ticket! As as he saw me walk toward my jeep he got on his atv and sped off not caring for the kids in the grass running around.. so I will never come back that was very unprofessional

I highly recommend this park! We greatly enjoyed the bird watching here, and saw quite a variety in the one hour we were here.
There are many walkers and bikers, but the birds don't seem to mind.
This seems to be an excellent place for children, too, with a large playground, a train ride, and other activities.
We just did the boardwalk, but saw several varieties of very interesting birds. We did not do the path up along the rookery, but will on a future visit.

Fun place to walk or bike. Love the huge Farmers Markets on Wednesday mornings!!! We have also done the paddle boats. Train area a fun place for the kids.

We love the path around the lake, the views of the fountains in the water, and the many birds that call this home. It's fun to take a pedal bike around the path, and there are so many great photo ops there. We love to visit.

Always enjoyable
Many choices
All ages
Ice cream,trains,bikes,several playgrounds,
Butterflies,wooded trails,
Good location center of Lee co

Great playgrounds and splash pads for young kids - swings and climbing wall. They had a great time - something different then beach or pool! Pay for parking though...

Nice clean walking trails. Plenty of things to keep smaller children occupied as well as the older ones. The train was not running when we visited but looked fun. Seen some alligators. Plenty of birds to watch. Talked with a gentleman that was fishing and it sounds like the fishing is pretty good. Next time maybe I will try it. The picnic areas are nice the restrooms were clean.

I've been there twice because it was advertised as having decent fishing opportunities. that is a farce. You don't get to see the one crocodile or alligator I guess from afar, which is to my liking. I did catch one fish there after several times but now I believe the water is contaminated with algae. Be prepared to walk a long distance after paying two dollars an hour for parking. There is no rust spots that I could find with drinking water beverage without pay a great deal of money. I'm gone twice in the afternoon and not wait in the afternoon and the information booth is locked up tight. It portends to have amusements for the kids but I've never seen them operating. Anyone that thinks that Southwest Florida is a fishing mecca of Bush you have a boat, forget it.

We love this park! Plenty to do. Walk, jog, paddle boats, the holiday trains are amazing! Very clean and they have a snack bar!

We arrived in January post-hurricane and a lot of the vegetation was destroyed. And frankly, it's just a one-mile circle with a lot of people who shouldn't be on bikes on the same path as you are walking. There seemed to be a lot of families with kids running around, so I guess if you have kids that would be a plus. And picnic. But, we were kind of underwhelmed.

Park is very clean and there’s plenty of parking. Really enjoy taking my son here as well as going for walks

There's lots to do & see for all ages. I've been there a few times with family & friends, it's always good.

Enjoy the train, train museum, botanical garden, kids playground & water features, ice cream, lake, water craft (paddle boats, kayaks) rental and trails.

we took our grand daughter to ride the train. she loved the ride and playing on the play ground. she also enjoyed biking the entire area. what a beautiful park.

Lakes Park has a variety of activities. You can rent paddle boats and canoes and bikes. There are a couple small water activities for young children along with swings and a small climbing wall for children. There are nice quiet paths to walk on. There are plenty of places to sit and enjoy lunch. The are is very nicely landscaped. There are a lot of different types of birds enjoying the lakes and trees. There is a small train that runs around the grounds intermittently. It is a nice escape from the busy roads right outside of the park.

I live nearby and go frequently to Lakes Park to bike or walk around the gorgeous lake. Since the hurricane, the lake has been destroyed - there are no trees at all on the small man made islands (been chain-sawed off about 2' above ground) - it looks like a nuclear bomb hit it (oh well that is nature and man cleaning up). There are too many people riding bikes at a high rate of speed in their spandex gear for this small a path. It would be nice if there were separate areas for biking, but the park is too small for that. There is a whole new block of buildings (I think assisted living) being built right up against the park, which has taken away a lot of the natural beauty. I'm sad as this park used to be a 5/5!

Had a cool morning while vacating so decided to check out the hiking trails. Beautiful park, nice groomed trails, and wonderful themed gardens to explore. Would go back.

Beautiful little park. Pay to park. We rented a buggy and rode all around. Saw an alligator. Definitely enjoyed a couple hours here. Will return next time we are in town.

I have been to Lakes Park numerous times over the years. A great place for birthday parties with many activities for all ages. It is a fun place to visit on any day you want to be outdoors. Many visitors bring bikes, strollers, etc. You must book early if you want to host a party at one of the shelters because they are very popular.

Used to be an old quarry turned into County Park, Nice, canoes, walking, bike trails. V-ball court, room for baseball, football, picnic tables, grills/pits, open & rentable pavilions. Docks, canoes, fishing, wildlife, turtles, ducks. Miniature railroad for fee to ride, great children's playground. Small toddler waterpark. Lot of trees not native to Florida removed. DO NOT GO IN/NEAR THE WATER - GATORS!!!

A beautiful park set around Lakes with a miniature railway and cycle hire. Plenty of lovely tarmac paths for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchairs and buggy’s to enjoy.

We heard that Lakes Park was open now after being closed for clean up & staff holding ground. Went for a wonderful walk around the gardens on Martin Luther King Monday and was pleased to see all the children’s areas full of happy families.

What a pleasant surprise! Our flight was delayed and this park offered so many fun options for kids and adults—fun park equipment, a train museum, a train to ride, Botanical garden walkway…and did I say ice cream too! So glad we stopped!

It’s a neat place to visit in busy Fort Myers whether you are arriving by car or, in my case last Saturday, by bike.
I entered from the Summerlin Road entrance, pedaled through the park, and enjoyed the clean, open-space. Several families had arrived early to set up their party sites for the day, other folks were power walking or pushing strollers, and a few people were lakeside, practicing their fly-fishing techniques. Although there is not much produce happening in this part of Florida this time of year, I enjoyed seeing flowers and herbs thriving in the community garden plots. After bicycling through the entire park (it took about 20 minutes) I exited on the Gladiolus Drive side and was happy to find a sidewalk/bike path outside of the park area, which afforded me some off-the-street safety on my way to my next destination.

Beautiful surroundings, water park for small ones, lakes with paddle boats and boat rentals and farmers market on wends (april-Oct).

This is a very lovely park in South Fort Myers. Free entrance, only a parking fee of $1 per hour. The park is for everybody. I go there to relax, maybe eat my lunch, or take a walk. For families with children, there's a fun water park for the little ones. You'll also find 'crazy' bikes of all types to rent and ride around. or rent a little boat or Pedalo to exercise your legs. You can also take nice walk along the lake and through nature. There is also a real fun feature for big and small: A veritable Choo Choo train that takes you through parts of the park. It's a miniature train and you sit on single seats behind each other. I've done it once and I'm 6.3 tall.
Then have a Coke and a Hotdog at the food stand. You can also fish in the lake, but I'm not sure about the license situation. Just ask them.
I was just there a few days ago and took some photos. The little island in the lake have been devastated by the storm, but everything will regrow. The rest of the park seems to be in good shape. They need support and visitors more than ever, so if you're in the area and are looking for a relaxing place, go visit this nice park. You'll enjoy it.

Have taken the grandkids here many times and also on my own. They have two splash park areas for kids to play in. Picnic pavilion areas. Play grounds, walking or jogging trails. Bike rentals for all ages , small train ride that all can ride on. Wild life all around. Snack shop and ice cream available.

We enjoyed all of the animals, it was weird to see alligators in the middle of the city. The kids especially loved the pathways,

Good and family friendly with an ice cream shop and bike shop. Also can row a boat yourself in da park

We had 4 little girls visiting us in Fort Myers and wanted to break up a full day of swimming. So we went to the park. The sprinkler yards were a hit as were the playgrounds. The train ride added excitement for the day. We followed that with ice cream and had 4 happy girls! Thank you Fort Myers for offering such a pleasant place to visit. No charge for parking or play areas. Nominal fees to ride the train.

We went to the park with our 4 yr old granddaughter and 20 month old grandson and their parents. First,we went to the water splash parks (there are two of them). Then we rented a surry bike that held all 6 of us. (Two kids in front with safety belts) All four adults peddling. On the bike ride we got to the train museum, which has a large, nice park where we spent some time. We had hot dogs at the concession stand there ($3.00 for really good hot dogs). We then peddled the rest of the way around the park.
The bike was $28 because there were 6 of us. Smaller versions are $10 less. Well worth while.
We didn't do the train because we had already decided we would be coming back during the week the kids were in town.
You can go there and have a ball without spending any money, if you want to. (parking is $1.00 an hr.)

Lots of things for little ones to enjoy, and on Wednesday mornings a wonderful farmers market to enjoy fresh produce. Not to be missed

While not enitrely free, its so cheap it may as well be - only pay for parking $5, and a small fee for the train ride if you decide to ride it, or a small fee to rent bikes. They have 2 splash pads where the kids can have lots of fun, a great playground for kids, nice picnic areas, a 15 minute mini train ride around the park, several tandem bikes that have "shopping cart seats and straps" for the little ones, and even kayaks! We went at 5pm so a lot was already closed, but we still had a great time!

This is a wonderful county park with something for everyone. They have farmers markets every Wednesday and there are bike and kayak rentals. The highlight is the great train ride that all ages will love.

Lots of nice walking trails around the lake. Basically a recreational area for family outings with picnic areas and boat and bike rentals. They also have a small botanical garden which offers a pleasant walk.

Nice place to visits, many acres, could spend all day if you like the outdoors. Nice BIG park with water, can rent boats and bikes to travel around. Could be a great place to take a book, coffee and watch the wildlife. Second time I have been there. The picture below was given to me by Bill Price, who volunteers his time there. he drove us around in cart and told us about the park. ( you have to ask if you want a tour) He takes a lot of pictures there O yes , that critter does live there

This park is a community treasure. Walk the park, rent a 2 or 4 person bicycle, ride the train. Holidays are special events and the park is always fun and decorated to the hilt. Free for walking, small fees for train and bikes. Farmers market once a week.

We took my in-laws here while visiting to walk thr trails. I wasn't aware they had a FARMERS MARKET on Wednesday which was absolutely amazing. Come hungry. We walked the trails and saw some great wildlife. They have splash pads for kids, clean restrooms, boat/bike rentals, a train to ride, AND the best key lime ice cream 🍦 😋.

Whenever we visit Fort Myers, we always visit Lakes Park. It’s great for the kids (big playground, spray park, fun train ride—not like any other train you’ve ridden before!) and also the whole family (bike rentals - you have to try the four person bike at least once. It was tons of fun!). It has nice paths for just walking or biking, and a nice variety of wildlife for viewing (look for the big turtles from the balcony by the snack shop! And watch for gators - they’re around so keep your eyes open!). I’m a birdwatcher so I enjoy watching the birds there. Last week there were two bald eagles hanging out in a tree visible from the main path through the park. Get there early before it gets too hot!

The park was busier than usual, when we arrived on a Wednesday in January. We soon realized that the Farmers Market was moved to Wednesdays. The market was open from 8 to 1 in the afternoon, so parking spots at times were hard to find, but during this time slot parking was free.
The park has great paths for walking, running and biking. Colorful garden areas with benches for a picnic lunch.
The islands in the lake looked very different, due to fact many of the tree were down. They are being replace with trees more native to the area.We also noticed that another splash pad for the children was added.
A must place to visit when in Fort Myers.

Wednesday is farmers market so parking is free and lots of vendors. Sometimes parking can be difficult as it’s very busy. Lots for young children to do as well. They have a few playgrounds and splash parks and nice paved trails for walking or bike riding. They also rent paddle boats, kayaks, bikes and surreys.

This is a wonderful park for kids. There is playground equipment, trails, splash pad and a train to ride. We always take grandkids here and have a blast. Definitely put this on your “to do” list when you have kids needing to play and use up some energy.

Lakes Park is a very nice park, it has the amenities of many parks, picnic facilities, fishing canoe rentals, bird watchingetc. The park also hosts various events through the year, such as the medieval fair. It is an excellent place to hold reunions and birthday parties.

There are a host of activities available at the park. There are trains, fountains, climbing equipment, train station, & swings. Our grandchildren had a great time.

A great place to spend a day especially if it is warm enough for the kids to go into the water attractions (1-7 years of age). There is a train ride, a train museum, paddle boats and kayaks, an ice cream stand and lots of room to walk and picnic. There is a great craft and farmer's market occasionally. Check the website for dates and times..

This park really had something for everyone--walking trails, multiple play grounds, a train, small water park areas, BBQ areas for both small and large groups, exercise areas, paddle boat and kayak rentals, etc. We really enjoyed walking around a couple of the trails and seeing all of the birds and other small wildlife. I would definitely come back and explore this park more!

Come here at least once a week love being outside especially now that it's getting cooler can have a lot more funner and great place to social distance must come between 10 and 2 in check out their butterfly garden and there's some free activities nearby God bless those Folk

We were startled to see the devastation the hurricane made in this beautiful park. Last year we walked their paths 3 times a week enjoying the large trees, the birds of many kinds, the coolness of the breeze. The park's islands of trees are only dirt and stubs. The birds are gone as there are no trees so no rookery. We can only hope for a massive reforestation.

We are from Pittsburgh, PA, and visit Fort Myers yearly. I can't wait to see it next year when the construction is complete. We are a couple on a vacation and this is a perfect place for a leisurely walk when some shade is needed.

We went here with our kids ages 3 and 7 for the first time and had a great time. We weren't sure what to expect but found there were lots of activities there. We rode the surry and our kids loved it. We also went to the parks there - they had at least 2. We also rode the little train as a family and we all enjoyed that! They also had multiple kinds of boats that you could rent to ride but we unfortunately had too many people to ride on the one. They also had bounce houses you could pay for but we didn't do that. There were lots of open areas to play and lots of parties going on in the pavilions.

Lakes Park is really awesome. You can enjoy long walks, bike riding , bird watching, alligators or turtles sun bathing. Every time we go there we see something new. They have a beautiful playground for children. You can rent boats, bikes or ride the children’s train. Many people have birthday parties there. Nice pavilions there.

Really nice park. Bicycle rentals, boat rentals, train rides, ice crean. water park for the youngsters, grills to cook, playground for kids, great walk for my wife and I for nature. Just cool place

Very nice park. Lots of activities to keep young children busy. Park and water park no fees. They also have train rides (for a fee) paddle boat and bike rentals. The paths are beautiful to walk or ride a bike through. Not long enough to bring your bikes to ride around. Can not really ride through main area because of so many people and pavilion rentals along path. Overall very nice to spend half a day with young children. Saw many cool birds and Turtles in the water.

Very nice park, really enjoyed our walk. We saw a lot of birds, squirrels, turtles and even a bald eagle and an alligator.

I’ve visited Lakes Park two times in February and will definitely head back – I’ll bring my bike next time and bike around the various trails. I believe there are over two miles of biking/hiking trails. It’s free to roam, you only have to pay for parking and there are bathroom facilities and snack bars.
You can rent bikes, peddle trolleys, kayaks, canoes and paddleboats. There’s a scenic boardwalk over the waters as well as playgrounds, picnic tables with grills, a children’s garden with a reading tour and various gardens from succulents to herbs.
There is a train station with a village and a gift shop. I believe the train and train museum is an extra charge. There’s a miniature railway as well as a full-sized train on display.
I plan to bring the grand nephews when they visit so they can enjoy the splash pad and playground area and, perhaps, bring a picnic lunch.
The second time we went it was on a Wednesday morning and were pleasantly surprised it was so crowded due to the weekly Farmer’s Market held in the parking lot.
We rented a pedal surrey for four the second visit and it was a fruitless job – we pedaled a short trail for fifteen minutes and returned it – we seemed to be pedaling and getting nowhere on a very hot day. So we started walking and we were found by a lovely volunteer that was breezing by on a motorized cart – she stopped and picked us up and gave us the “grand” tour of the park – from pointing out the alligator sunning on a small island through the grand gardens with explanations of all the various shrubs, flowers and plants. Our guide’s name was Rhonda and she was so delightful and informative. We tried to tip her but she refused and we then gave the money to a free-will offering towards the parks upkeep.
I plan to return to this park each month to see what is in bloom during the various months.

Lakes Park is a lovely sprawling park with many activities.
There’s a fun playground that’s a ‘splash park’ yes they get wet - very safe surface for little ones to run around and play. There’s a wonderful open air train - your seated single file with the little ones in front of you. The train takes you on a lovely tour typically they have themed scenery that’s exciting Halloween and Christmas are these themed rides. My kids would wear costumes for the Halloween ride! There’s a train museum which makes for a nice visit with interactive things to experience. They have food drinks and ice cream at their concession stand. You can rent 4 seater bikes et et. Saturday they have a Farmers Market that’s got some great vendors. There are picnic pavilions for private events. They have other sponsored events from time to time to. Really nice place to spend a couple hours with your kids : )

Lakes Park is one of my favorite places in Ft Myers. I usually go for long walks on the trails, and I enjoy looking at the beautiful flowers and plants in the garden. There are also kayaks, canoes, and multiple-person pedal bikes to rent. You can often see many types of wading birds, too. During part of the year, there is a wonderful farmers market once a week. Truly a gem of a place.

Such a nice park. We took our 3 grandkids so didn’t make it beyond the playground and train ride, but they had so much fun. The train ride was really cute. We also rented a peddle surry car and went around the lake and found another playground. Had a picnic lunch then stopped for ice cream there. Recommend for a fun outing with kids.

Family friendly venue - only $1/ hour to park - playground and water park to keep children busy and active for hours - cute train museum - as well as interactive activities -- train ride around the park is fun - but there is an extra fee - bbq spots available as well as butterfly garden -- walking paths too

Always looking for interesting places for fresh air and exercise. This urban park has a fitness trail and walking path that circles the lake. There are a large number and variety of wading birds that call the park home. I saw egrets, heron, ibis and other birds. The park also has a variety of plants and trees native to Florida. There is a train ride for kids, and kayaks and boats for rent. Great spot for a leisurely stroll or a family picnic.

Splash pools....train ride.....paddle boats ...ice cream....great place to entertain the kids for the day and you will feel like a kid again.

A real gem in Fort Myers. Great walking and biking paths. Nice playground and water park for the kids.

This is a very pretty park with lots of water features a bridge, snack shack bathrooms paddle boats for a fee and walking paths. Nice place to spend a couple of hours.Only negative, and its a big one is you cant take your dog.But you can take your dog to Publix. How crazy is that! You also have to pay to park.

We went to the park not expecting much but man did that turn around fast. We had a blast riding the 4 person bike. It was like we were children again. Going around in circles along the well groomed and laid out paths. The play park for the kids was huge and they ran around for an hour none stop. This place has all kinds of stuff to do. Next time paddle boats.....can't wait to go back. AWESOME time for all ages.

Just a great park. There are so many thing for everyone in the family to do. Our visitors are always surprised to find such a nice park in S. Ft. Myers.

This park has about everything a park needs. There are picnic shelters, there are rentals of bikes and human powered boats. There is swimming, playgrounds, gardens, trails and wildlife to see. For kids of all ages there is a train ride. For Christmas they decorate with inflatables. It is a lot of fun to go here.

Had a great visit - went around Christmas time! Enjoyed seeing the lakes and everything along the train route!

I have found this local park perfect for all sorts of activities.
Starting with children, from toddlers on through to elders above 90 all can enjoy this park.
The playgrounds are exceptional, with designated areas for toddlers, small children, and prepubescent teens.
A small scale train design for riding upon provides rides. There are several designated vegetables, colorful blooming plant areas, and butterfly gardens, which means there's are an abundance of birdlife for viewing.
The surrounding lakes have several alligators, with plenty of fish that are preyed upon by people but also by early morning raptor birds.
Rental of various types of bicycles are available for one to six, along with rental of boats for cruising the lakes.
There is a weekly farmers market, along with various entertainment activities throughout the year.
The park is exceptional for bicycling, walking, pushing your child in the baby buggy and of course running

This is a lovely park. Beautiful grounds, wildlife and botanical gardens were worth the trip! I’ll be back!

We've gone here many times, and it doesn't get old! They have a small train museum and a miniature train you can ride for a small fee (under $5.00) the ride is about 15 minutes and goes around the entire park.

We visit annually when in town to visit family. What a nice park! Visited on or near Thanksgiving the past couple of years. Minimal crowds. Rent the bikes or paddle boats, ride the mini train, and let the kids wear themselves out on the impressive playground. Always a hit with the kids, and good for some memorable moments.

Wonderful park with two playgrounds! Our family spent the day at Lakes Park, there is plenty of activities for all. There are numerous walking paths, you can rent a Surrey, we did it was a great family activity.
The train museum is fun for all and the train ride is only $5.00 per person. Highly recommend if you are in the Ft. Myers area.

Although I have lived here many years I never truly experience the park until recently. I have learned so much about the Fauna and Flora that surrounds us. It is such a relaxing environment to walk through. A wonderful place for all ages.

This isn't a public park. It's a "commercial park" with no free parking spots, and the paid parking is at every hour and on every day -- yes, even weekends. Then, when it's closed, large metal gates close it off as if it were a precious castle. Even with all that, I have to say that the lake and its jutting landscapes are really beautiful, it's just sad that they've taken this land and are trying to squeeze money out of it's natural beauty.

Took our 3 year old here for a day. She loved the playgrounds and the train ride. It was too cold for the splash pad bit the bile rental was a lot of fun. Going back every visit for sure.

It’s a great park to visit for the whole. Sports, boating and picnicking are a few of the many activities

Huge park with lots to see and do. Super Farmers Mkt. on Wednesdays. Playground for kids is a great place for Grannies to watch kids while parents shop! Safe family park.

great place for big events family reunions or just taking your kids there. lots of nature to see. lots of birding trails.

This is a great place to photograph sunrises. The fragrance garden offers special opportunities for exotic flower photography . The various walk pathways past the locomotive , lakes and landscape are perfect for a morning walk and photo shoot.
Playgrounds for kids and a mini train ride makes this a must see stop for families.

This is a nice park for a nature walk. Many things for children to do. Small train museum and a small train to ride.

We love this park because it has nice walking trails. There are train rides, bikes and paddle boat rental options. We watched an alligator swim to the deck and rest on the crossbar under the deck while eating ice cream. Great place with lots to do if you have kids.

Super cool park called the Lakes Regional Park, in the middle of, well, everything...
A bit crowded, and parking is either $1.00 per hour or $5.00 for the day. 158 acres of man-made freshwater lakes formed by a rock mine that operated on the property in the 1960s. A variety of wildlife can be spotted throughout Lakes Park, especially birds. Spotted a Red-winged blackbird and an alligator! The park includes about 2 1/2 miles of walking and biking trails running along the lakes. The train was not in operation due to the pandemic. Plenty of park benches and picnic tables. Icecream sold on site along with light snacks and drinks. Various outdoor rentals available including kayaks. Fishing allowed in some spots. NOT PUP FRIENDLY 😢

There is tons to do here, train ride is a must for little kids, bike and boat rentals. Plus kids play area and even a train museum. We saw alligators, birds and snakes which the kids loved. The bikes you can rent are a bit tired and over priced but it's a great way to see the park. A super day out!

There is a desert area which I really enjoy but try to go in that area when it is cooler. The vegetation on the paths is lush and provide shade early in the morning or later in the afternoon. I especially like the bird watching. I joined a group at 8AM on the first Saturday of the month and the guide was very knowledgeable. She was enthusiastic and really enjoyed what she was doing.
There is something for everyone. A playground for children, train ride, bikes to rent, picnic tables, etc. and there is no entrance fee. Plenty of parking and it is reasonable.
There are many ponds and "lakes" which make the area very picturesque. As with everywhere in Florida, one must be watchful for alligators. We did see one on the bank last year.

This is a large park with a walking path and a boardwalk around a lake. There are lots of birds and it is a pleasant walk. This is especially good if you have kids. Why? There is a play area for kids and a railroad that runs around part of the park. Check to see when the train runs.
You can rent boats and can have a nice few hours watching birds.
This is also an area that serves to help clean the water for the area.

I have visited several times to play Pokemon Go here. It seems like a very lovely park with rentals of all kinds from four persons bike carts to kayaks i think. with a very large play ground for the kids and a miniature train to ride. They close rather early in my opinion I've pulled in and the gates have been closed even before dark which was disappointing considering i live about thirty minutes away. Maybe call ahead to make sure there still open if you considering going late afternoon. Also the have a little splash zone as well.

We love this great park situated on over 250 acres and several ponds, but no real lakes. The playground is wheel chair accessible on most activities and includes a place to learn basic Braille number and letters.
The park offers a free golf cart tour that can be a few minutes to an hour. In our 15 minute tour, we saw many sea birds, a big gator, and almost saw a bobcat and an otter. ROBIN HYATT gave us a great golf cart out with 2 books of beautiful pictures of everything we missed. She gave us lots of hints looking for animals in the park.
The Community Garden offers a plot of dirt to grow your own plants. The Children's garden offers a story time and craft, every third Thursday at 1030 am.
On weekends and holidays, for separate charge, the bounce park offers several bounce houses.
Great place to enjoy the great outdoors and incredible accessible playground.
Accessible van wheel chair pay by app parking. Park and playground moslty accessible, except some parts of playground and golf cart.

My wife and I do all their train rides every year. We try not to miss a one. We know its mainly set up for children. However its as much fun for adults who is a child at heart. We have been on it when the locomotive malfunctioned on the back section. We all had to all get off so they could replace the locomotive. We consider it fun, there is food and ice cream on premises. Try it and you will love it. Like I said you can do it with or with out children.

Plenty of parking, walking, playgrounds, nature, etc. for the entire family to enjoy. Local gem off the tourist area

It's a great place to do my daily walk. The park was a former quarry. When quarrying stopped, the pits filled with water and Lee County took over the site and made this park. Part of the walk is in the open, with water beside the boardwalk, part runs through a forested area that is very restful to walk through. There are many picnic areas, small and large, that can be booked for use. They contain barbecues and tables. There are bikes, kayaks and paddle boats to rent. There are alligators in the water, so kayakers need to keep an eye out! Many birds populate the area. There is also a botanical garden, with signage describing the various plants. In addition to several play areas for the kids, including a splash pad, there is a miniature railroad that both kids and adults can ride, that runs for about a mile and a half through the park. It's a nice place for all ages to visit. Yes, a lot of trees were lost during Hurricane Irma, and the islands in the water look barren, but overall, it's still a great place to visit, at a buck an hour for parking.
One of the best city parks anywhere.
Was at Lakes Park four of the five days I was there. Beautiful place, not crowded, great trails for walking, jogging, or riding a bike. Did some fishing, there are some big bass here, but not a lot of catching on this trip. $1/hour for parking. Lots to do for kids. Go there if you want to take a few minutes to unplug.
