Bring your walking shoes. Lots of restrooms. Stores are repeated multiple times. Amusement park had enough for everyone. Lots of restaurants. Enjoyed myself.

Large mall with many of the same stores

By elizabethw001 |

Just to say you went.

They have a lot of stores but it’s no different than any other large mall.
They have a massive food court w plenty of options.

Best mall experience

By David R |

The mall looks in good condition and very clean. I was impressed at how well everything looked and clean. While the floors can get a little twisty turny and hard to keep
Track of where you are if you aren’t familiar, it’s also easy enough to just follow the exterior path and get back to your starting point on each floor.

The things that knocked it down for me
The restaurants there for the most part cater more to adults rather then tamiles. A lot of the places on the 1-3 floors didn’t really offer a kids menu and focuses more on a more adult setting than a family eating together on an outing, outside of the fast food places.

While the escalators were nice, I found it a little odd there was only one elevator. We used it since we had strollers and rather than collapsing them down just to get on an escalator we just took the elevator by the theme park. I didn’t look hard for another one, but in our wondering I never saw another one

Lastly, some of the businesses have various locations on each floor whether that be connected (gap has an upper level that you can walk up the stairs or elevator to get to inside of the shop) or just it’s own separate locations. While not a big deal, it was kinda of disappointing to see the same shops over and over again on each level (lids was one that had a shop on each level). It made the floors kind of seem a bit repetitive. It’s being nit picky but I would of liked to see a diverse variety of shops than 3 hats stores.

Overall I was being nit picky because the mall was a great way of spending a day with the family

Not a great shopping experience...

We came to shop for my son who is about to begin his career in another state now that he has graduated college. We were truly disappointed with the number of men's clothing stores available in this mall, although there were lots of options for women. This was our first visit since COVID and we were truly underwhelmed. SO many people crowded into one place with definite disregard for personal space. Did not enjoy the time we were there and left with only one shirt. Oh well....

A must see.

By daniarwen |

Mall of America is huge. It's really a must see just for that, but the atrium with the amusement park and the aquarium add a fun element. My 13 year old was in heaven. Also worth noting, that it's a "standard' mall - not a bunch of high end stores, just big variety of normal mall stores.

Same old stuff, but throw in a few extra bucks

By anderson213 |

First, I must admit, I'm not a shopper. My purpose of shopping is a pre-planned attack, get what is needed, and leave as quickly as possible. Why did we come to the Mall of America?--to get a few coaster credits from Nick. Universe.

As for the mall itself, parking is free, but it's cramped. It appears that the building was designed and then parking was almost an afterthought.

The stores are mostly the same as any other mall. I even started to have fun and poke fun of this: "oh, I never saw a Banana Republic before" or "how nice, there's something called a Hot Topic and a Spencer's for the teens." I would guess that over 90% of the stores are the same stores that everyone knows about and usually skips within their own malls (if there local mall is still even around)--which leads to another interesting fact: there's a lot of empty space in the Mall of America!

There are a couple of unique businesses. There's one that sells water. Now, that's kind of cool because it's more than the usual flavored water. There's even water that mimics the taste of soda. The store has free samples and most of the water can be bought for only a little bit more expense than soda or beer. So, if you need some special flavored H2O in your life, the Mall of America has it!

There's also an M & M store. I liked that one because we were handed complimentary caramel M & Ms.

That's about all that is complimentary. Expense is also an issue. Over sixty dollars for four for a round of indoor golf! There's a unique games show experience with even a host asking you questions. The experience is for one hour and only costs fifty per person--which is equivalent for an entire day at an amusement park!--You have to have some bank to truly enjoy The Mall of America.

With all of that said, if someone truly enjoys getting his/her steps in at a regular mall, then he/she will enjoy this one. If not, then you can certainly pass on it.

Once in a lifetime experience

We were on a bus trip down to Nashville and one of our stops was to the Mall of America. It was very large and you can get turned around in it .We only had two hours to tour it.I have been there now and I will probably not go back as it was to large for me.We had a security man find our way out for us.It was a once in a lifetime ecperience.

America's Amazing Amusement Park

My family and I visit this every year and it seems there is something new and special every time. A must see place in Minnesota

IS THIS A SCAM!

By pamrclark |

We had a great time! I rented a scooter for my mom and stroller for our 4 year old. We did a lot of walking. When we returned the rentals for our deposit of $50. The desk was closed! I finally got a manager to come and give us our deposit back. He said, they had to be returned by 7 for a refund of the deposit. The only place it said this was a line at the bottom of the receipt. In our excitement, we overlooked scouring the receipt! We got at the desk at 7:10. Ghost town!
My thought is that the "rule" should have been well known and stressed. Who wants to loose a $25 deposit on a $10 stroller rental? POST SOME SIGNS!!! There should be someone at the desk for 30 minutes after the mall closes for people to get to that desk. The mall is huge! Long walks!! We saw a man just leave his stroller because it seemed so hopeless. Is that the ultimate goal of the rental? To collect your deposit too!
I think we could correct this problem, if anyone cared to.
Other than that we had a wonderful time.

Great mall with tons to do

By Brad |

Talk about a mall. So much to do for the whole family. And it’s all indoors.

We are here visiting but I can see why the locals love it. Lots to do, shop, and eat.

This mega mall has lost its sparkle

By Dmarkwind |

I remember that on one of our previous three or four visits to this place, we spent nearly all day here. This time, we were pretty much done after about two hours. There used to be some somewhat unique shops here, but now it’s all pretty much all the same stores as you see in every other mall. We miss the Department 56 store and the Tucci Benucch restaurant, as well as some others that used to be here. There’s still a kiddie amusement park in the center, but now it’s SpongeBob-themed rather than Snoopy-themed, and we don’t have kids, so it was never much of a draw. Once you get to the third floor of the mall, there’s a lot of vacant space now. It’s still a monstrous shrine to capitalism and the shop-till-you-drop mindset, but there aren’t a lot of bargains to be found, and not much that’s unique or very exciting at all. The only things we bought on this recent visit were some snacks we had Entertainment coupons for, and I really don’t have to visit again anytime soon, if ever.

largest mall in usa

By mrc282 |

the unique and awesome feature is the nickelodeon theme park, where you can ride a rollercoaster, play a bunch of games, indoor.

the standard fare, nordstorm and macys are also present. neiman marcus and saks used to be there but have left the premise.

per usual, because it is so large, you will need a car to go from one end to another

Mall of America, Minnesota

By hapkido7 |

OMG! This Mall is humongous! It has everything you might need. It will take several days in order to see everything at The Mall of America. It's a fun Mall from the amusement park area to all of the animated characters flying in the area near the food court. It has so many restaurants, it took me a while to decide on which one I wanted to go to. I visited the illusion place on the 2nd floor and that can definitely make you feel a little dizzy, but it was fun and interesting. This was my first time visiting this mall and Minnesota. I hope I get an opportunity to come back to this amazing city.

All Day Shopping

By Dixie H |

We visited today. Due to Covid-19 there were quite a few stores that were not open but there were still more stores than you could visit. The amusement park part was closed but there was 2 miniature golf courses open. There are so many restaurants that you didn’t have to wait long to eat.

Masks are required and 95% of people had them on. Stores posted the new occupancy limits and had employees monitoring and making sure masks were worn. Due to occupancy limits there were lines at popular stores. Many stores were also doing temperature checks. Even in lines people were friendly and practiced social distancing.

Two tips: if you want to do Rock of Ages glow in the dark golf, make a reservation. We didn’t and there was a 1.5 hour wait.

Wear sunscreen. Even though you are inside the mall has glass ceilings that act like a greenhouse. We got a sunburn even though we were inside all day.

Even with all the restrictions it is worth a visit.

Shoppers Paradise and Kids Entertainment Galore

By icemenhockey31 |

We have visited this "mall mecca" before and the family has a good time each time we go.

There is more then you can imagine at the Mall of America.

We typically spend a day at the Amusement park which is right smack dab in the middle of the mall and you can't miss it.

Best idea if your there for a few hours is to get a wristband since then the kids can do any ride as many times as they want.

The shopping part is a shoppers paradise with more stores then you can imagine and you basically walk around and go to what you want.

There is plenty of ample free parking on all sides of the Mall, and also surface parking for bigger cars and motorhomes too on the North side of the Mall.

Nice shopping

By Gunnar T |

Visited the mall because I had an empty day before a flight home from Minnesota airport. Easy to reach by train, short trip, and spent 4 hours browsing stores, shopping and getting some early Christmas presents done.

Nickelodeon Universe

By Ashley P |

We enjoyed our time in Nickelodeon Universe, the log ride is a classic. However be ready to pay up, it’s expensive. $200 for a family of four for wrists bands. It gets crowded quickly so go early.

You Need All Day

By Kristin R |

This mall is so large you would have to be there all day to get a true shopping experience. I was tired after a couple hours with a food court break. There are two food courts by the way. There are the normal mall stores and many special to this mall. I enjoyed watching people on the rides at the amusement park. This is really a cool place. Wish I had more time and energy today.

Good place to visit. Picked a bad day to go.

By Jason E |

Went the weekend before Christmas. It got busy fast in the afternoon with last minute shopping. Lots of stuff to do and look at. Plenty of parking in the garage area. Also local light rail access if you need it.

HUGE

By Lil_msbeautiful |

This mall is GINORMOUS! I didn’t have much time to see it all. Great place for families and small kids will not be bored. I like there are excellent restaurant choices as well.

FOR YOUR SAFTEY - PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS when visiting this beautiful mall

By D. K. Coleman |

FOR YOUR SAFTEY - PLEASE BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS when visiting this beautiful mall. On May 9, 2025, my two sisters and I traveled from California and looked forward to visiting and shopping at Mall of America. Lunch at Cadillac Restaurant was amazing. After purchasing shoes from Nordstrom Rack, my two sisters and I stopped at Starbucks. While in Starbucks, for some odd reason, two young females in their late teens or early twenties stood out. They were both on their phones texting someone. After leaving Starbucks, we went on a shopping spree in Nordstroms. I personally purchased a cute pair of Christian Louboutin red bottom tennis shoes and a Christian Louboutin purse that happened to be on sale. Another sister and I then purchased a few David Yurman bracelets. While purchasing bracelets, we asked the employee assisting us where the women's restroom was. Ironically, upon walking into the women's restroom, the same two females from Starbucks were sitting on the sink in the bathroom, again texting someone. After shopping for four hours in Nordstroms, we returned back to the same Starbucks to get a couple of coffee for the road. To our surprise, the same two young females stood in line right behind us. As we moved to the right to wait for our coffee and the two young females approached the counter, my sister happened to look to her left and in a joking way asked the females if they were following us. Neither of the females responded. Instead, they stood at the counter acting as if they were placing an order. When my sister turned toward me and looked at me, we both whispered "They are actually following us." We then decided to locate security to request to be escorted to our vehicle, which was parked in the parking garage near Nordstroms. As security escorted us to our car, my sister saw a man and woman quickly jump out of their seats, where they had been sitting for a long time, and go in the opposite direction. Then, when we reached the parking lot, low and behold, the two females were still following us. We believe that the two females and the two other people were together and had the intent to rob us at some point. As we got in our car and pulled off, the two females followed us out of the parking garage and onto the congested freeway. Thankfully, I was able to get away from them by swiftly shifting from an exit only lane to a lane continuing straight. IN SUMMARY, PLEASE WATCH YOUR SURROUNDINGS AT ALL TIMES, ESPECIALLY IN TOURIST AREAS, BECAUSE THIEVES AND ROBBERS ARE SERIOUSLY ON THE PROWL.

Amazing experience

By Bruna Gusmao |

First time in this mall. I loved it. The park inside full of rides and roller coasters is really nice for the kids. There is also a mini golf court. The restaurantes are awesome too. I was even more excited when I heard there is a hotel inside it.

I NEED MORE TIME!!!!

By Jeanette S |

If you are in the area, you HAVE to go to the mall. This place is insane and could take you days if you wanted to go shop at all the stores. I spent only three 1/2 hours at still felt rushed. Plenty of areas for fun for kids, lots of eating choices and shops! shops! shops!

A great way to spend a day

By Anita M |

This was a great day. There is so much to do. The amusement park was fun. There is also mini golf, and other entertainment. We enjoyed shopping and had lunch too.

The atmosphere is not as nice as before.

By Ingeborg56 |

I used to come here all the time when I lived in Minneapolis, and I came now back for the first time for more than 5 years and I fell that the stores were not as nice as before.
I went there first on a Friday late afternoon and evening, and my second visit was on a Monday afternoon/evening. It was a much better visit on a Monday afternoon/evening than on a Friday afternoon/evening, but there are so many other malls I will recommend than Mall of America these days.

Massive mall - good shops and restaurants

By BigMerk |

We visited here as part of a road trip. The primary reason for our visit was to play the escape room but we didn’t a couple of hours going around the shops. It was very busy and some of the food places had queues. Inside, as well as shops and restaurants, were 2 mini golf courses, a huge play area for kids, a Sea-life centre and other attractions. It was well signposted throughout and parking was free.

Nice Mall

By Amilcar Guzman |

One of the largest malls in the country. A simply must do if you are in Minnesota or even the Midwest. A great place to visit!

A Change

By Tiffany S |

I just recently traveled to Minnesota on a bus tour to see the Mall of America. Of course after reading some of the reviews, part of my reason, well most of my reasoning for wanting to attend was for the zip lining experience. I was disappointed to ride all the way up from Kentucky only to find that the zip lining experience was not going to happen. Something I have wanted to try for a long time. I did enjoy the mall experience and truly enjoyed the melting pot experience. I shopped till I dropped. Enjoyed the different atmosphere and a change of scenery from my Old
Kentucky Home.

Great time

By Tracy W |

It is a big mall. But it had something for everyone. We spent an entire day at the amusement park. My older children found plenty of places to spend my $$. We probably wouldn't go back.

Huge mall

By stuart w |

So it’s a shopping mall, a huge shopping mall with shops, food places, parking and a theme park in the middle. Pretty well laid out but is is just a shopping mall

HUGE

By Gerardo B |

The biggest and most complete thing I've ever seen in Malls. It has everything, internal amusement park, ski slope. water park with wave pool, all kinds of commercial premises. Glued to the Metlife, fairly easy to access. You can spend a full day there and yet it's not easy to finish touring it

Very fun. Plan a whole afternoon here!!

By Zoey W |

Awesome place. The rides are worth the wristbands, just come early in the morning and stay the whole day with the unlimited wristband. Rides are good for toddlers, kids, teens AND adults. Plan spending more than 3 or 4 hours shopping and seeing everything. M&Ms store is very pricy, so just avoid that.

Don’t forget to stop at the Fair on four go-karting, Nickelodeon Universe, and Sea-life during your stay. You may need several days on your vacation to explore most of the mall. Great wolf lodge is conveniently nearby if you have kids. 5/5! Would recommend.

24 hours in Minneapolis

By P S |

I am very impressed by the size of the mall, all the food options, and all the entertainment options. It is easy to spend the whole day in the mall. I tried axe throwing for the first time and virtual darts all at a very good price.

Food wise there were plenty of food courts, drink shops and dessert options.

Love the variety

By LRCBME |

Great sales the day after Christmas. Found everything thing i was looking for. From Michigan love tax free on clothes.

Stores a let down but LegoLand, the amusement park and abundance of eateries was impressive

By Deb B |

The mall was very large. There were a ton of stores but most of them were your usual mall stores. The abundance of places to eat was crazy big but it was expensive for drinks. A Coke was $4 and one refill $2 at the place my husband went so he passed. The amusement park was interesting in the center and the kids seemed to enjoy it. One of my favorite places was the Lego Land Store which had larger than life exhibits of a Tiger, a caveman with a spear pointed at the tiger; a helicopter with a man repelling down a rope;; a robot with 2.8 million Lego pieces & was 34 ft. tall; a minautar.

Good for kids

By John M |

Visiting is great for a mini-vacation. Our elementary aged kids had a great time with all of the different attractions. Prices add up though. Best advice is to buy the MOA coupon book from a guest services desk ($9.95 as of the time of this review). You easily make your money back using 1-2 coupons and savings add up from there. We stayed in the connected Radisson Blu and access was convenient as we didn't have to go outside. They close the doors to the mall until about 8:30am or so. Wish we had access before then to get coffee or walk around. There's not much to do in the morning with kids until the majority of the mall items open at 11am. Expanded hours would be much appreciated, especially since this is a theme park. A ton of items are still closed in the theme park area - probably due to staffing. That was disappointing as there were a number of rides that weren't operating.

Final note, sit down restaurants in the mall fill up quick. Take the time to get reservations if a place accepts them. We had several places that couldn't take any walk-ins after 5pm each night as they were (COVID) full.

Something for everyone - fun play area for kids

By Mitch M |

Great big mall with tons to do and something for everyone. We went to the Nick Jr area so our kids could play around and they loved it. We spent about $35 for a little over an hour (8 total mini rides).

One stop for Shopping AND Entertainment

By Heather J |

I admit I was a little skeptical about this mall. I mean a mall is a mall, right…NOPE!!

I was completely surprised at the amount of stores and things to do this place holds! From the Nickelodeon amusement park, axe throwing, go carts, mini golf, restaurants and not to mention actual shopping, this place was amazing! It was cold in Minnesota while we were there so this was the perfect place to spend the day!

I went on Saturday

By ゆみみち |

We went to the aquarium, the Lego store, Kura Sushi, Mochinut, and nectar.
We decided to go after 10:00 and stay within 5 hours so that the kids would not get too tired to go to sleep.
Mochinut came in a box of 12, so we gave three to our friends, who were very happy. The donuts were easy to share, so we all ate a little at a time, and they were very delicious.
We made a reservation for Kura Sushi in advance, so there was no wait time and we were shown to our seats right away.
A serving robot brought us water and tea, and the kids were happy to eat it, and then we shared ramen, sushi rolls, desserts, etc. There was also some American-style sushi, which we ordered, and it was delicious. We could choose Japanese as the language. The staff were kind and welcomed us with a "Welcome!". It was good that the prices were easy to understand.
We were drawn in by the nice smell and cuteness, so we went to nectar. My daughter bought about 10 cakes, unicorns, cupcakes, donut-shaped soaps, and bath bombs to decorate our home. They wanted lots of things because I would buy them for them. The inside of the shop is also cute and it's a dreamy shop.
Everyone was very satisfied with their holiday.

Fun place to visit!

By Betty |

There is so much to do in this mall and it should satisfy every member of the family. There are plenty of shops and restaurants. They have an amusement park in the middle of the mall and other entertainments from an aquarium to a theater. You should decide what you want to do prior to visiting because there is so much to see and do that it might become overwhelming if you are not prepared. We can easily spend a whole day here.

Shopping, food, it's a mall - plus an amusement park

By AnnetteRM2015 |

The experience is jaw-dropping if you are from a small town. The shopping was pretty good but the centre park with all the rides was just amazing.

Over priced too the Max!!! Coupons not Allowed

By Ed C |

I can't recommend this Popeyes do the overpriced food I get it's at the Mall of America but $7.99 for a chicken sandwich only is crazy the owner of this restaurant are pretty much crooks.

Underwhelming!

By Sharon M |

A really big mall that's just any other mall but it has an amusement park attached. The amusement park is great with really big roller coaster rides in it but the mall itself is not impressive. Kind of underwhelming!

Plus size can fit on rides, details below

By Tiffany W |

Spent about two full days here. So thankful we planned our trip during the week as we went Saturday morning just for the Minnesota gift shops, and my Lord was it busy! Plan accordingly.

We did one full day of shopping and experiences , and one full day of rides.

As someone who is overweight 230 pounds and a size 18, I was able to ride every ride, except the carousel. The carousel they make you wear a small belt so if you ride it, you have to stand other than comfortably and every ride and was thankfully not fat shamed off. Even the rides that look small and questionable, I was able to fit on.(orange streak)

We also did Crayola experience, which I highly recommend , fly over, and putt putt.
Trying to do all 3 of these in one day (with rides) was almost impossible . I would recommend probably three, as we were there from open to close and barely squeezed in putt putt.

do plan accordingly , as this is not an inexpensive thing.

One time thing

By JandB35 |

The hype of the mall is more dynamic than the mall itself. Yes it has a rollercoaster inside. Yes it has an aquarium. But it's not user friendly. You expect an experience at this mall and it's really just a mall. There aren't any dynamic places to eat, just the typical run of the mill fast food or chain places you can see in any major area. The attractions are interesting but the theme park area isn't easy to navigate and the staff aren't friendly. We went in July and let me tell you, they don't believe in AC. We were so uncomfortable and warm, and that's at 10 am when the mall just opens. It gets worse as the day goes on. There are a number of stores to choose from, but it's all the same thing. You can buy crocs from 5 different stores here. The value of the experiences are expensive, but this is a tourist destination so it makes sense. But for us the cost we paid for everything didn't meet the value.

Also the elevators are very slow. So if you have kids be aware. And there’s nowhere to put your stuff or stroller in the amusement park area and that impacts your experience there.

It was fun to go once but now that we've done it we don't need to go again.

Mall has everything but manageable

By Joli G |

The Mall of America is large and a nice mall but it was not overwhelming at all. It also is big, but if you have been to some East Coast malls (King of Prussia or Palisades Mall) it is not that big. The mall is clean and has every store and food type you could want. The thing that makes it unique is the center is a small amusement park. There are lots of rides but it is basically equivalent to a section of Disney World or Six Flags. There are rides for thrill seekers and also for little ones. You don't have to pay the one price for unlimited if you don't think you will go on all the rides, you can by tickets. We were there shortly after the world reopened from the pandemic and the lines for the rides were not long but since the ticket counters were still closed the lines for tickets at the kiosks were long. There are also lots of activities to do like a maze, miniature golf and arcades.

Worth seeing

By El Dorado |

The place is definitely cool. It's impressive to have all those rides, and stores, inside, but I feel it was probably more impressive 15-20 years ago. Also the rides are mostly geared toward children. I grew up hearing all about it and I'm happy to have crossed it off my bucket list. Definitely worth visiting if you're in the twin cities but I wouldn't go just for that.

Amazing array of shops, restaurants, attractions and rides

By JoeNathan9249 |

Amazing array of stores, restaurants, attractions and rides. Attracts millions of people each year. Great people watching - and some of us simply walk around for good exercise - which the Mall encourages.
Some businesses are part of national chains such as Macy's. Others are distinctive to the Mall.
Among our favorites are the free play area in front of the Lego (TM) store. Youngsters an play free with legos for hours.
Parking is extensive and free.

A wonderful time of the Mall Of America

By Nathaniel R |

We have been visiting this mall since it was built. We missed quite a few years do to Covid then we started hearing all the negative things about what the young people were doing and crime. We are from Memphis Tn and I can tell you its everywhere. We came to Minneapolis for the Prince celebration and I tell you the Mall was wonferful. Clean and a lot of fun. Never felt unsafe. We saw security officers with dogs and high powered rifles. If thats what it took then so be it. We spent two long days there also had lunch and dinner. This is how we rememeber it.

A great place to shop.

By jackiesuesmith1957 |

I loved shopping and eating at the mall. I was able to get so many great gifts for my family.
There was an Italian restaurant on the first floor that was so good I at there twice during the days that I wandered through the mall. The ravioli appetizer was great! I had it both times I ate there and when I got home I even imitated when I got home. It is a fo o rite when my family comes to eat.The theme park would be wonderful for people with children.

The mall number one in The United States of America.

By mascareno777 |

Most malls in America are out of business. We have new ways to shop. This place never looses its attractive.

Truckers off day!

By Sheba T |

Great food choices and shops! The attractions were okay considering I didn’t have children. I wanna try the ramen spot when I got back!

“Black Friday Madness at the Mall of America”

By Joe B |

Went to Minneapolis for the Thanksgiving holiday definitely had to stop at Mall of America. Decided to go Black Friday and old boy. Was that a crazy frenzy enjoy every minute of it the selection of stories by none. You probably can find every store possible in this huge mall. Let’s not even talk about the amusement park was so cool to see an experience the values and SALES for Black Friday or anywhere from 50 to 60% people were friendly and definitely a few Minneapolis. I must see with the aquarium amusement park and everything they have to offer was a pretty cool experience

Shopping - Eating - Activities

By Bobbi R |

The shopping, the food, the variety of activities made for a GREAT 2 day trip to Mall of America! So many options! Could have easily stretched the trip to 3 full days! Word of advice... comfortable shoes. We did the Fly Over experience and LOVED it! A very nice break from the walking. Stores all had sales to be found. Weather in MN in August was perfect!

Massive Mall

By KMB_GA |

It’s a mall. A massive mall. With an indoor theme park, tons of shops, and so many places to eat. So huge it has multiple repeating stores on different levels. It’s an experience worth walking around and visiting once but it’s kind of sad that this is one of the top destinations around Minneapolis when there so many other cultural and outdoor options you can try! If retail therapy is your thing though, this place would be your whole vibe and you’d probably spend days here.

Awesome experience

By Audrey S |

This mall is awesome, Friday and Saturday meals at Bubba Gump Shrimp was superior and so much fun. Talking with the staff/waiter on Friday and the manger Laura on Saturday was really awesome. Can’t wait to come back again.

All wrapped up in 1 place

By CJB |

Huge mall with an amusement park and an aquarium. Look on their website for prices for wristband or bundle packages.
The amount of shopping and specialty stores is HUGE! They do have several directories throughout the mall to help you navigate.
It is very busy from November - Christmas. It is a huge mall but it does get busy and parking takes longer to find. Security is evident but I would recommend securing your personal items while parking in the ramps.
Food is available from cheap eats to high end. Several food courts or tons of sit down restaurants to choose from.
MOA can be an all day experience. Shopping, eating, rides, sea life, planned events or taking in a movie.
They have special events throughout the year. Check out their calendar.
Enjoyed by ALL AGES!
Comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. Walking or browsing the stores. It’s all FUN!
Side note- They do have hotels attached to the MOA. That way you don't have to adventure outdoors. Winters can be cold here in MN!

A step above

By advcards |

Tons of stores but lots of extra to do items. Plenty of kiosks for directions but really missed a good old fashioned map. Probably a must see in Minneapolis

First trip to MOA

By Megan C |

Our first trip to MOA. Wasn't really sure what to expect. Lots of shopping options, obviously. Was hoping there were more local boutiques but overall good shopping.

Chaotic, but kids loved it

By DRD4-7R |

We visited with my 14 and 12 year old on a Sunday afternoon. It’s possible a weekend was not the best day as the amusement park (and mall) was incredibly busy, to the point in being chaotic.

Regarding the amusement park: It was difficult to navigate through the crowds and wait times for the rides were pretty long. We had a three hour pass so avoided the longer waits to get more rides in. Luckily my kids are old enough I could leave them to it and wander the mall. The reason for my three star review is that 1) we had a coupon for a three hour visit which had to be redeemed at guest services, not at the machines. Yet guest services was closed with a sign saying all tickets had to be purchased at the machines!! It took us 30 min to figure out they sell passes at the retail stores and we could redeem the code there. A sign at guest services would have saved us considerably time and running around 2) there no app to tell you wait times of the rides 3) there’s no interactive map to help navigate the park.

The mall itself is a regular mall but just very large. Mostly higher end stores and specialty stores that I wasn’t particularly interested in (I’m A target and kohl’s woman) but must appeal to a lot of people as the mall was very busy. So again giving a three star review as the mall just didn’t have the stores I was interested in but I understand that’s subjective.

Great place to spend the day!

By The Happy Traveler |

Mall of America has significantly improved and has parts that have been renovated after Covid. They offer more attractions for all ages and have put in a lot more higher end shops. They have more Minnesota souvenir shops as well for tourists.

It’s been restored to a really beautiful walking experience as well. Walking here is a real treat with 3 extensive floors where you can easily get in 9k+ steps if you walk the perimeters.

They have activities for every age group as well. They offer several places to sit comfortably in between shopping escapades.

The food court is massive and offers every type of food you can imagine! Prices aren’t exorbitant and affordable for families.

Nice “Getting there” Notable:
If you are staying downtown, the Blue line train goes directly to the mall as it’s the end of the line so you won’t get off at the wrong stop. Trains run practically every 5-10 minutes all day long too!

Train fare for an all day 24 hour pass is only $4.50 and can be used til midnight! Train tickets can be purchased at any train stop via cash or card. It’s on the honor system and there is no train operator coming around checking.

Neat to visit

We stopped here in July 2020. We are very sad that nickelodeon part was not open. Also sad Carlos Bake Shop was not open. We enjoyed walking the mall.

It's a Mall and a Great Place to Walk

By 1952car |

No matter what size they are, a mall is a mall. Mall of America just happens to be bigger than most. Plenty of stores, a great place to kill time with your kids and you'll sure get your walking done covering the several floors of this place.

Perfect place for a day with family.

By mik00725 |

This place is huge, immense, big!

The mall has everything for everyone. We bought unlimited passes for our younger ones and left them in the Nickelodeon area, and we went shopping, and having drinks and beers until they were done. We spend almost the whole day walking different stores had breakfast and later lunch and did a some shopping.

Very nice place to have a day with family and friends.

wonderful people watching

By Gooseview |

We had an afternoon to kill and visited the mall. It's breathtaking! We needed to walk off our long drive and enjoyed seeing all the people on a Saturday afternoon. plenty of things to entertain anyone and they say 50 restaurants. We'll be planning on stopping there again.

Even if you don’t shop interesting!

By THINGS2LIVE4 |

This is one of the largest if not the largest building that I have ever been in. There are a lot of restaurants. The LEGO store looked very interesting. This is more than just a three story mall. There is a huge amusement park inside.

Overwhelming walkways and underwhelming stores

By Jessi V |

Download the moa app or have an idea of location of stores you want to visit. Walking around with two hungry teens trying to find food court is not fun. I found yhe whole mall experience to be overwhelming and store selection underwhelming. Most stores were same as my local mall. Our fav stores to visit were m&m store and crayola store.

Nice but not incredible

By 2001NH |

Was really looking forward to Mall of America. It was really just a large mall with some amusement park additions. Not very many people thankfully. No lines.

Everything for a day out

By WN |

Always great experience. Shopping, entertainment and dining. We spend a day here easily quite often.

Massive in size

By LadyN516 |

Massive is probably the only word that can adequately describe this place. It is very easy to get to from the airport- just jump on the train and go directly from baggage claim to the door of the mall. They also have lockers for rent large enough to accommodate multiple suitcases if you are stopping here directly before/after a flight. The one con I would mention is navigation. Even with the interactive digital maps, it is ridiculously easy to get turned around. And for whatever reason, there are multiple locations where you can't get from floor 1 to floor 4 without having to search for another escalator, which was very strange.

This place used to be terrific

By Dan B |

This place used to be terrific, but times change. And in the case of MOA, not for the better. I met a couple friends there just the other day, and when I arrived at the East entrance I walked past a couple young men panhandling aggressively. One was pestering a young woman as she was loading a stroller into her car. As I was waiting inside, a different guy approached me and asked for money. When I refused, he became very threatening, calling me "b*tch" and "m*therf*cker". I stayed cool and tried to avoid eye contact, and he eventually finished venting his spleen, and moved on to his next victim. All in all a pretty unnerving experience. I contacted the Mall and related my experience, but they didn't even bother to respond to my email.

Mixed review of mall and attractions

By E Araceli A |

I gave this mall a 4 star because I’d never been here and it was an experience. Many stores mainly food items/stores I was not aware were here and happy to visit like sugar factory and Carlo’s cake shop, as well as the attractions. If they weren’t so expensive for a family of 6 I’d have gone to all! Downside during Covid was that EVERY attraction had a long line to get into and most were “sold out” for the day or next two days. That was disappointing. We got in to Nickelodeon universe because we went at mall opening and got on a wait list. Got on at 11am and finally got in at 6pm. There were 206 ppl ahead of us. The aquarium was also sold out but we did go through the lines and found a ticket kiosk at entrance w tickets for later that evening though. The mall itself had a lot of repeat stores. (Different levels) but pricing was average. Also all floors and food court area were pretty filthy. Thankfully bathrooms were ok. Make sure you have reservations to dining and attractions at least 2 days before you come to this mall!!! Also they do close early at 7pm on weekdays. Some stores open later than 10am and close before 7pm. They did have lots of security but when a fight broke out at the mall exit after closing they were no where to be found. Took a while for them to come and by then the fight had moved to parking lots! Crazy and scary for my kids to see.

Great place to visit but wouldn't bother to go back!

By Lisa F |

Not worth the hype! If not for the amusement park in the center, it would be no different than any other mall.
If you plan to shop, leave at least 2 full days to see the entire mall.
Great choices in food court. Sit down restaurants offer fantastic food but overpriced. Super clean - the floors actually sparkle!

Something for everyone

By lil_T3 |

3 levels of a wide variety of stores, 2 food courts, treat shops, arcade, amusement park, movie theater and a aquarium. I'm sure I missed something. In my family I have 2 teenage daughters, 1 teenage son and a 9 year old girl. Each of them found multiple stores to shop in. We were there 5 hours and still had lots to see. It was just great

Great plan to hang out with family

By TravelSingh |

Great, fun place to hang out and shop with Family! We went from Canada for a few days and ended up at Mall of America for two days. There are lots of shops and variety of experiences inside the mall.

Arrive early

By jenabobena35 |

We drove 8 hours to come to MOA for the attractions. Tuesday morning we came to the mall when they opened and every single attraction we went to had a 2hour waitlist! We waited 7 1/2 hours on the Nickelodeon universe wait list. We waited in long lines for everything because EVERY place we wanted to go to was at capacity. Wednesday was a little better. We were able to shop without waiting in line... except the Lego store. I love how there are plenty of directory kiosks throughout the mall and several bathrooms and hand sanitizer everywhere. All the employees we have encountered have been pleasant and helpful!! If you want to come to the mall I say wait until everything opens at full capacity. Over all it’s a great mall.

Unplanned

By Kristina |

Boyfriend and I made a spontaneous trip to Minnesota just to come shop here. Such a great mall. Such good food options. Although there was one store that didn't open until well past 10am (site showed it should have been open at 10 like the rest of the stores) we very much enjoyed it there

Lots to do, but be ready to spend.

By ryanschock |

Lots of good flagship stores and unique game/toy stores. Also, lots of activities for kids and teens, but be ready to spend some money, not cheap.

Amazing mall

By Jack |

This was the third time I had been to the Mall of America and it still remains my favorite mall. The Mall of America is the largest mall in the country and is home to hundreds of stores and restaurants, a Nickelodeon amusement park, a Waterpark, and two food courts. I highly recommend coming here. I assure you, you will not be bored.

pretty cool

By love-vaca |

i found this to be pretty cool but not sure it was really worth all that money... definitely a one time thing that i wont be doing again. when i was there they were also offering a fly over canada so that was cool

Fun for every age!

By Catie V |

Lots of food, fun and shopping options! This place can be expensive and exhausting, but it's also one of a kind. There are things to do for all ages, all activity levels, and all interests. Lots of parking available in garages, and a lot of digital maps available around the mall so you don't get lost. You could honestly spend days there between the Nickelodeon park, the other activities (Crayola Experience, Aquarium, etc), shopping, and food.

Shopping with no sales tax was amazing

By Shirley P |

Lots of amazing places to eat and shop. Loved the variety of shops and the amount of merchandise each store had on hand.

Something for everyone.

By Knapcoach |

Something for everyone to enjoy here. You will in fact need some comfortable shoes. You will walk several miles if you walk the whole thing. There are several areas to stop and the majority of the 3rd floor is places to eat. Perfect place to rest and refuel.

Huge shopping mall with amazing amusement park in the middle

By George H |

Wow!!!! The mall is huge and is similar to any other mall but with 3 floors full of shops and a 4th floor for restaurants and bars.

The main attraction to the mall is of course the amusement park in the centre of the mall. It’s great for kids and even adults.

You can easily get lost in the mall but there is enough security and police in there to help you out.

Parking is free and is available on all sides of the mall. If you are in Minneapolis you have to visit the mall of America

Everything in one place

By ktkadish |

Our trip was planned with the mall as a destination. We spent all day inside, and didn't shop at any of the stores.
Parking was a snap with illuminated signs indicating how many available space on each floor and plenty of spaces.
The day included an escape room, Nickelodeon Universe (amusement park), and miniature golf, all under one roof.
Multiple food options to select from - we had lunch at Culinary North food court, and dinner at a restaurant on the south side.
Interactive directories found throughout the mall direct you to your searched location.

Not a good experience.

By JackofPBFL |

The mall was over crowded, overly noisy and the floors are very slick in places. I am not a shopper. When I want to buy something, I go to the place that has it, buy it and leave. The place is so huge, it overloaded my senses. The interactive directories are not bad, but finding the Transit Center was a disaster. The electronic directory did not help because it would not give me any information at 10 am when the mall was not officially open. Might be a good place for a younger person but not for a 75 year old. Moving sidewalks or people movers would be a great help.

Could be there all day

By Tim G |

Second time visiting the mall. First time was back in 2007. Lot of changes since then. Nickolodeon universe was great especially if one has kids. There is a metro that can take you to the airport and downtown Minneapolis. There are also bus routes. One can do a food tour inside instead of going to downtown Minneapolis.

Shopaholic's dream come true!

By Fresco Finance |

The Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota, is an absolute shopping and entertainment extravaganza! This mega mall is a shopaholic's dream come true, with hundreds of stores to explore, from high-end boutiques to quirky specialty shops. The indoor amusement park, Nickelodeon Universe, adds an extra dose of fun with thrilling rides and attractions. But, here's the catch – it's enormous and can get incredibly crowded, especially on weekends and holidays. Navigating through the massive complex, finding parking, and waiting in lines during peak times can be a bit overwhelming.

Need some updates

By Chuck C |

Great with the variety of stores. But the rest rooms were FILTY throughout the mall. Not a good show for shoppers. But it was enjoyable shopping.

Very Big

By Bertram S |

This place is huge. It has lots of different types of stores. Our favorites included Lego, Crayola and the Kilt shop. It also had lots of carnival rides from Nickelodeon. I was hoping for more attractions like those in West Edmonton Mall, but what they had was nice.

Shop til you Drop

By Santeka Grigley |

I had a blast. My friends and I met up for a girls trip. We spent a full day, literally open until closing time. There is so much to do, so you will not get bored. We took a break from shopping to grab lunch, then checked out some of the rides in the amusement park like area. There were great deals! Some much variety to choose from for food and it seems the whole top floor is bars. After we shopped until our hearts were content, we did an Escape the Room and had dinner.

There was so much to see we ended up going back the next day.

Don't bother

By Andy G |

Simple tip - dont bother. This place is a massive waste of time and space literally. The shop selections are poor and overpriced. Plus every floor seems to have the same shops repeated, Why you need 3 lids for example or Nordstorm across 3 floors in the corner and another shop further round I dont know. Sadly I wont get this time back

Mall was Huge

By mm4evr99@gmail.com |

Five floors including the bottom floor aquarium. Definitely worth a trip for shopping and fun. Has huge amusement park in the middle and hundreds of places to eat great time

Not a quick stop

By Travel R |

Easy to spend a day or 2 here. Between all the eating venues, shopping, and entertainment and 2 attached hotels, there is something for everyone and convenient.

fun place to visit

By Lorna B. |

We stopped here during a road trip from our home in southeastern PA out to North Dakota; with no kids along with us, we decided to visit the aquarium (see separate review). Parking was a breeze and free. We spent an hour in the aquarium and another hour walking around to check out the massive size of this mall. We never found a food court but there are many snack shops and eating places scattered throughout (we enjoyed the pizza at DeLeo Bros Pizza). We checked out the “Minnesot-ah!” store for our requisite MN state mug. All in all, it was a fun stop on our road trip.

Girls weekend

By Elmom1 |

Specifically came to Minnesota for this shopping experience. I bought the 9.99 coupon book offered at guest services at the mall and I would say it was worth it. It was very clean everywhere, a store for just about anything. I would say that maintenance could get on the ball with putting hooks or shelves in the bathroom stalls for packages/purses. I really dont like putting them on the floor...eww. Overall, there is plenty to do, especially the Nick amusement park for the kids...lots of food options...Fly over America was ok, but overpriced, even with the coupon, a toddler could find their way out of the mirror maze, I don’t recommend that, but the Sea Life Aquarium was actually pretty good for a mall attraction. Finding your way around was pretty easy.

Shopping spree

By Tyson C |

Here for shopping. Could not disappoint on stores. Every one seemed good about social distance and masks everywhere. No sales tax on clothes!!!!

Enormous

By Wayne M |

Mall of America is apparently the largest mall in the US and it felt like it. This place is huge. It even has an aquarium and a theme park inside. Every shop you could think of plus a good selection of restaurants. Great experience.

Huge

By HNBISOFF |

The Mall of America is huge. I enjoyed the local and regional stores versus the national stores. The Mall has plenty of dining establishments and activities for the kids. A very nice Mall for all to enjoy.

Really neat place

By Jeff R |

I am not a huge shopper but, everyone recommended going. The experience was great and a bit overwhelming. Four floors with lots to see and do. It was not terribly busy so the walkways were easily negotiated. Had a great time!

A must-visit attraction blending retail therapy with world-class entertainment

By Maksud Mahbub |

The Mall of America is not just a shopping trip—it’s a destination in itself. Perfect for families, couples, and solo travelers alike, MOA delivers a unique blend of excitement, convenience, and variety. Whether you’re looking to shop till you drop or just escape the Minnesota winter, this mall truly lives up to its global reputation.

Poor wayfinding and signs.

By Ray S |

Poor signage. Can't easily find restrooms elevators exits. You will get lost, and elevators are not marked well. Amusement Park is great. Even with a map or kiosk help you will not easily find your way. All shops should show their mall address.

Decent mall

By nikblaarr |

Huge mall. Great for getting some walking exercise in. Decent store but no high-end luxury stores. No Louis Vuitton, etc. not even a Tory Burch. But other nice stores plus very clean. And something for the kids to do when they can’t go outside. I was really impressed with the amusement park rides and the Lego store. The estate-approved Prince store was nice.

A mall on steroids

By Wendell Wiggins |

A huge mall! Wasn't really impressed by the stores inside as some of the same stores were on different floors, but the indoor roller coasters and such were kind of neat. Not sure I want to go back, but it was neat to see.

Completely underwhelming

By missybabiee |

Although this mall is impressive in terms of size, it feels like nothing more than a tourist trap. That said, there was one standout employee, Belinda, who shared some interesting facts about the mall with us. She was engaging and shared tidbits such as the number of Statues of Libertys that could fit inside the mall, and the fact that the home plate from the local baseball team is still located there. Unfortunately, our excitement ended there.

When it came to shopping, we were disappointed. The stores had a limited selection, and we didn't end up purchasing anything. As a result, we left a day early. The only bright spot was the indoor Nickelodeon theme park, which my 13-year-old enjoyed. However, she lost her $200 air pods during one of the rides and we were unable to locate them.

Overall, if you're looking for a great shopping experience, this isn't the place for you. I would recommend checking out The Fashion Outlets of Chicago instead.

Flyover America

By mmail2016 |

Such a great ride. You really get the feeling of actually hang gliding through the sky but without the danger and extreme temperatures. We enjoyed it so much, we rode it twice and then came back the next day to ride it several times again. I hope they are successful enough to build more of these rides throughout the country. I would love to take my entire family.

Enormous array of clothing, shops, amusement park rides, food options

By JoeNathan9249 |

Enormous range of things to see and do - amusement park rides for kids and teens including roller coaster, log ride, ferris wheel, etc
More than 100 stores - predominantly clothing, jewelry and many, many food options. MACY's Nordstroms are major "anchor" tenants. Huge Lego store with opportunities to simply play with legos for hours
People watching is great - some people come here just to walk.

An Okay Day

By Lori M |

Went with grandchildren and kids. So didn't really do any activities other than walk around, They went to the amusement park and rode a few rides. We decided not to do the crayola experience, because a few of the things were shut down due to a lack of workers. A few of the stores either were not open or they were closing early due to lack of employees.

Another mall

By princecharming37 |

For me it was just another mall but my nephew absolutely loved it. He still talks about and we have been home for a month. If you have kids, it will be well worth the visit and if you are adult it will worth going to say you have been there.

Festive for the Christmas Holiday

By Michael H |

The Mall of America is our favorite place to shop during the Christmas season. Its a great place to shop on a weekday morning and not the weekends to avoid large crowds. Hundreds of stores to browse and Christmas music played throughout the entire mall. The decorations are especially nice to get you in the Christmas mood as you walk around the mall at a comfortable consistent temperature. The restrooms are impressive- large, bright and so clean.

Avoid the restaurants!

By Janice A K |

Crayola was fantastic-plenty of unique experiences and little gifts to bring home. Well worth the cost. Nickelodeon was also very good, as was the aquarium. We had problems every day outside these attractions, though. The restaurants are understaffed and staff that are there are mentally absent. Wait times are very long. Avoid Benihana at all costs-we waited over an hour sitting at a table without being served. Even had a long wait at Starbucks. If I would do it again, I’d avoid all of the restaurants and cafes, candy stores and just go to the food court. That is also overcrowded and understaffed, but they seem to handle it ok.

A must do

By PB |

This mall is so big and so much fun . Lots of walking . There is a aquarium , an amusement park inside , miniature black light golf , another golf inside , lots of shopping , lots of snack and food places . We had rainforest cafe and it was great . They atmosphere and food was so good. Wish I had had room for the volcano dessert that they out a sparkler on but just didn’t have room to eat it . Margaritaville is there . Bubba gimp shrimp , and many more places to eat . We did get some chocolates at Lindt chi area . We love those . There is a crayola store , that had lots of activities for kids . A Lego land store with lots of neat Legos that where built of different things . So cool . Couple mattress stores , comedy club show , so many things to see . A must do at least once . Great experience

Fun family time

By taverboomen |

I was not on board for a vacation to the Mall, but in the end we had a great time. My son and I enjoyed the rides, and when my wife and son started shopping I enjoyed a beer at one of the restaurants.

Something for everyone... a must experience

By Jennifer A |

A bucket list dream fullfilled. This place will not disappoint. Many rides for all ages, games to play, go-karting and shopping. Something for everyone. Plenty of choices to choose from for food that you do need to eat atvthe same place twice, unless you wish. A variety of shopping ... wish all malls were like this

Dangerous train but a fun experience at the mall

By 465Lulu |

Don't take the light rail train or other mass transit to or from the Mall of America, even during daylight hours. When the police were able to respond to multiple calls for help, we were given this advice by the four officers. Unfortunately, it was too late for our train of victims.
Now, the mall itself was very pleasant. We enjoyed good food, the amusement park and ample shopping options. Prices were reasonable and staff were friendly. If you're going primarily for the amusement park, be advised many rides are closed or staffed with only one worker.

One stop fun entertainment shop

By Renae_Jamilah2330 |

The mall is massive with everything in one huge space. Food, entertainment, shopping and services under one roof. Although everything is expensive it's well worth it for any age.

You could get lost (literally) in this mall for hours. From stores to food, bars, and even rides... great way to spend a saturday either with your friends, or the whole family.

Awesome!!

By Susan R |

It was our first time visiting Mall of America. It was a great experience, loved the atmosphere and the variety of stores inside the mall. The hotel attached to the mall is a plus without needing to go outdoor to get to our hotel.

Nice Mall

By Sherwin M |

The mall is great. Definitely see how it’s built for children. There is a lot for children to do. A variety of food options. Definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area. I don’t travel to Minneapolis often but this is a good place to grab a bite.

Best Mall Ever!

By Christine C |

Traveled with my family there on a Saturday and was worried it would be crowded. But even with a little bit of afternoon rain, it was not. Most of the stores we went in had less than a couple people in them. It is very clean, extravagant, and honestly a bit overwhelming since it has over 500 stores. If you want a crazy shopping experience this is the place. You could spend a lot of time here and not get bored, tired yes and perhaps overstimulated.

Family fun a nice place for families to go

went to mall of america this past summer when we were in Minneapolis. goshhh what an experience!!! there literally is something for everyone! all sorts of entertainment! and every type of eatery u can possibly be in the mood of! and there is probably every single store u can want in a mall in this mall! not to mention the attached gorgeous hotels! sleeping in the hotels there is convenient because this is easily a 2-3 day activity! cant wait to be back!

Fun and something for everyone

By Karen T |

Hubby and I came here with our 3 adult children to spend the day. Hubby and I have been here before many, many years ago, but the kids hadn't. We had such a good time from shopping, eating, and checking out the aquarium. That was really awesome. The mall is very close to many hotels which offer free shuttle service. There is a shop or venue, eatery, games, movie theatre, amusement park, Legoland, etc. you could spend days and probably not see and do everything. There is something for everyone to enjoy. We will be back.

Christmas Spree

By trixiedu |

This mall has ruined mine and my families lives. We will never be happy in another mall. Shopping in our local mall will be such a disappointment now that we’ve experienced MOA. My husband and 20 year old son even enjoyed shopping, shocking I know, but so true. We loved it. We couldn’t have done it without the directory though. We’d still be walking in circles.

Fun!

By Danielle G |

Great animation on Fly over ride. If you get motion sick you may not want to do this- i do and took medication prior and was ok. Love the realness of it! Wind-mist- rain! All of it, made it seem so real! Lots of fun.

If you're a man married to a woman, you'll be here

By Dan P |

COVID19 had shops and restaurants limited while we were here, but a nice 4-hour afternoon went by fast with so much to see and do here

How far MOA has fallen

By wicomet |

25 years ago, MOA was great! There were unique stores, great restaurants, and fun activities. Now, MOA is falling victim to what all malls are falling victim to...Internet shopping. MOA offers little more than your typical suburban mall. Well, except for black light golf and escape rooms. MOA is no better than a dilapidated Wisconsin Dells. It’s no longer a good Minnesota destination. Between sports and entertainment venues, parks, and museums, the Twin Cities has so much more to offer.

Largest Mall

By LiketoeatCincinnati |

This mall has everything and even examples of stores that may have closed in other cities, such as bookstores. They have an indoor amusement park and numerous restaurants. This is a must see while in Minneapolis.

Once and Done

By Amy Ryann Rezulak |

We come from Chicago, IL traveled to Mall of America for a Sweet 16 birthday shopping spree.
Stayed in Saint Paul historic district and drove over to the mall.

Valet or public lot available for parking. We chose $15 valet and it was worth it.

Mall had multiples of same stores, over four Claire’s. Seems like a waste. How this mall felt to me is a “flight/tasting” of a bunch of small versions of stores. We shop a lot and the stores in this mall were absolutely tiny and lacking merch compared to other states.

Encountered many rude staff members, dirty bathrooms

Positive: no sales tax on certain goods. Not overly crowded and lines were not too long. Had Caribous instead of Starbucks.

Food court and restaurants mostly on top level. Rides and aquarium available inside the mall.

Security and cops walking around with huge guns.

This mall offers paid lockers.

Total miles walked in mall: 7.5 miles

Handicapped accessible, wheelchairs available

Smoke free

Overall: I would not return to this location.

Great place to spend a day

A Mall full of Thrills! Love the amusement park!

By adrianna24sings |

Had to see "Mall of America" after all the praises I heard about it. Took the train from downtown Minneapolis directly to "Mall of America." It's one of the largest malls in the world with lots of walking to do if you want to see it all. I especially liked the amusement park, how cool it is to enjoy a year round amusement park in a city like Minneapolis where winters can be long. IF you're looking for lots of attractions and terrific shopping all under one roof, visit "Mall of America." I love Minneapolis for its cultural stimulation and good eating spots, as well as the beautiful architecture. There's so much to see and do just in downtown Minneapolis alone but a trip to "Mall of America" should be on everyones list because this mall is bursting with excitement. Every shop you can imagine is here and the best part is no sales tax on clothes and shoes. An added bonus is having IKEA right next door.

Mall of America is a one of a kind mall full of thrills!

Nice visit

By sfarland |

It was definitely something that I imagined. It is a big mall but has a lot of the same stores and not the best deals going on. It’s nice to have the Nickelodeon Universe in the middle. B&B Movie Theater is a great movie theater. I watched Borderlands and the theater was really nice. It took about a day and a half to go through the whole mall.

Overwhelming

It is huge. Bottom floor seems mostly clothes and shoes around periphery. Amusement park in middle. Families with kids could definitely have a lot of fun there. Lots of fun looking rides. About 8 different climbing walls, a lego store. Very neat place
Food is mostly on 3rd floor, with some ice cream and sweets places scattered around first floor. Got to admit we passed up 2nd floor and legs ran out of strength .
For us ,it was a one and done experience. Had to see it but no need to ever go back but I am sure would be fun to shop or take kids to for repeat visits.

Mall it!

By tiredconferencegoer |

Mall of America is a giant mall with an amusement park aimed at kids in the middle of it. It's laid out in a giant loop, so easy to navigate but LOTS of walking.

3 tips: 1. the massage chairs at $5 for 15 minutes are well worth it for your aching body!
2. The largest lockers in the amusement park area held 2 carry on bags and a backpack (maybe a little more, but that's what we had) and were very useful on our last day. There were smaller sized lockers as well.
3. The metro from the airport was great- ends right in the ground floor of the mall.

A Lively Mall

By SnappleSpice |

My partner and I rode our first rollercoaster together here (the Pepsi Orange Streak) during our trip to Minnesota! We didn't get day passes for the amusement park portion as we aren't big into rides. We did the coaster (which cost us about $8 each I think and brought up all around the center of the mall) and then the "Soar Over America", which was very expensive for a short ten minute ride. The mall is huge (of course), but we didn't see any empty storefronts. There are a few stores to get touristy items (although expensive), but overall this is like a regular more (if other malls were still successful in 2023).

Mall of America

By Victoria McDaniel |

So many things to do. We had a blast. They had lots of interactive stations where you could navigate where you needed to go.

It’s Very Big

By JeffBreedlove |

It’s very very very big

It has a theme park

It has a lot of stores

We still did see it all

I was less than impressed with the food offerings

I did enjoy the rides in the theme park area

It is a must visit

All good except one ride

By James J |

I like nearly everything about the mall. There are MANY shops, rides, and restaurants. I would like the "You are here" maps to be a little more helpful. We had a bit of difficulty navigating and which direction to go in for something specific was not entirely clear. The only absolute NEGATIVE about our experience was the Adventure course. At the time we (my young son and I) climbed the course, there was a bell at the end of the "gangplank" at the highest level. The employee who let us into the course LITERALLY told us to try and ring the bell. When we finally got to the top and rang the bell, another employee YELLED at us like we were little children to NOT RING THE BELL. I was totally embarrassed and that one incident gave me an overall negative feeling about our visit there.

We Came, we saw, we shopped

By packerbeer |

Well, I was shocked that they did not open till 11. I do not know if that is the norm, but we did not look at hours and waited for about 45 mins for them to open. Which was fine, in that we window shopped to determine where we wanted to go. That would also explain the plenty of parking spots. Even after they opened there is plenty of parking ramps. There are plenty of stores to select from and could find some deals. To be honest though it is a 4 story mall with a roller coaster and aquarium there.

Great place to visit. So much to do.

By Lyn M |

A must visit is the Void VR, Jumanji was brilliant. The rides for kids is very good. If you have time play the crazy golf. The escape room is also worth a visit. There is loads to keep you entertained. Just go, you won't regret it.

Busy but a fun stop

By that1travelmama |

A trip to Bloomington is never complete without stopping at the mall. We stopped briefly to visit a few favorite shops and places. The mall was clean, had many sanitizing stations and currently reserved the elevators for those with wheelchairs or strollers. Everyone was rather respectful about keeping an appropriate distance and the interactive maps were still available to use.

Just Awsome

By Mike |

I think this is the best mall in the world and one of the largest for sure.
It is like a small fun city by itself , you will find definitely something to do there , Awsome during very hot and very cold days.
Many restaurants and coffee shops and needs more.
Good for shopping and Awsome for kids and do rides.
You can buy annual pass for rides with 149 dollars

Wear comfortable shoes.

By aliceo718 |

This mall truly is HUGE. We walked 6.5 miles in one day and I’m not even sure if we saw everything. A lot of food options to pick from.

Nice, clean and well maintained.

By Trevor S |

I have never reviewed a mall before but I think my title says it all. The Lego display was very neat and the go carts were a blast! Like a miniature version of our West Edmonton Mall ( built by the same brothers).

Group getaway

By Gary G |

Stopped in for some light shopping and food. Has expected the place was a bit busy giving the time of the year but didn't encounter any problems because of it. Variety of shopping experiences and food choices is excellent. I will return

Bring your walking shoes!

By corms67 |

Mall itself was nice, be prepared for a lot of walking. The security check on the way in was a little alarming, quite sad to see small children have to subject themselves to the same weapons check as adults. Very sad TBH. Otherwise a nice place to kill a couple hours of time before your flight! Very close to the airport!

First time doing rides at MOA! Was fun, but go when they open!

By JamieW2424 |

We rode some of the Nickelodeon Universe rides for the first time. We got there right at 10 when they opened and that's the best time to go! We got on rides quickly. Lines got longer as the day went. We then ate lunch and went shopping in the mall. Stores are a bit harder to find than I remembered, but overall a fun day with lots to do!

Disappointed

By Violette54 |

Disappointed. We visited on a weekday, on purpose to avoid what I thought would be crowds. We had no trouble finding parking in the ramp, on the first level, where in and out were easy, and the car was visible. We had been warned about some difficult personal situations in and around the mall, but decided we would be safe enough for a brief visit just for lunch. We found many places closed in the middle of the week, and those that were open needed reservations, or were out of our price range for lunch. We settled on the Johnny Rockets, but even there, the personnel were uncaring and almost rude. And while it's a restaurant, we ate outside the entrance in the the mall, since there was a problem with seating. Dining at the limited inside seating cost more. Prices were high, even considering it was a mall restaurant.
We walked a bit afterwards, but when even finding a restroom was a challenge, we decided to leave.
This is a shopping mall, but after this brief experience, we left without spending any money. I remember when Mall of America just opened. What is there now is a far cry from that.

Huge!

By Michael B |

I think this mall has 5 levels and an amusement park inside. Was decorated very nice for Christmas! Not that crowded and close to the airport.

Great place to visit in Minneapolis!

By Bhushan Timla |

The Mall of America in Minnesota, is a massive attraction destination with shopping, entertainment, and dining. With 1000 of stores, from luxury brands to local gems, it caters to every shopper. The highlight for many is Nickelodeon Universe indoor theme park with roller coasters and kid-friendly rides. Flyover America is awesome, and visiting it will be truly good experience.
Wear good walking shoes, coz the mall is really huge! There's a lot of dining options range from fast food to upscale eateries. Weekdays are calmer, while weekends hum with crowds and events. Parking’s ample but note your lot properly.

It's a Big Mall

By TEBlaise |

It's a big mall with a neat indoor amusement park. Easy access. Right next to airport. Fun for family and plenty of places to eat.

Walking & Shopping before your flight

By MominOC |

Was 6hrs early for my flight and enjoyed walking this entire mall. Yes, very tiring but will be sitting a while so it felt good to be tired.

Wonderful experience.

By Ehstt |

My daughter and I went to this restaurant, and it was the best! We went twice for lunch. The atmosphere was nice, our server Zoe was excellent, (give her a raise). My daughter enjoyed being there for the first time. Thank you Wahlburger and The Wahlberg family.

Worth the trip

By Jodi P |

Always a fun visit to the MOA! The stores are always changing but honestly you don't go to the MOA for shopping...you go for the fun. Seems like there is always entertainment at the center stage. Great variety of eats for all price ranges

Okay.

By Mommaofboysx2 |

We made a trip over spring break to come check out MOA. My personal opinion, it’s just a mall. Yes there are a lot of things in it, lots of things come with lots of people...

My kids enjoyed it, lots of repeat stores. Nice food selection. Not sure I’d come back for anything other then maybe the amusement park once it opens in full.

My pet peeve was there were not enough tables at the food court and everyone was sitting on the floor... Gross considering we are in the middle of covid.

The mall

By Fred K |

Mall has everything clean, safe and lots of parking. A big plus is there is no tax on clothing. Nice food selection from sit down known restaurants to regular food court places.

Brief stop at the mall

By Tiffanyjim |

We came to the cities for a concert at the US Bank stadium downtown, but had an couple hours to kill to get into our hotel before heading downtown. Have been to the mall many times before. This visit was good. Found convenient parking, found a few stores we wanted to hit up for tax free clothing and were on our way. Still a good place to shop!

Not a one day visit

By John T |

This is a huge shopping mall that has a little bit of everything. Just like everywhere else the economic effects of Covid-19 shutdowns have caused some closures. However I have been coming here for years and the mall is always changing and evolving with the times. Great new food selections and once the economy recovers the mall will fill back up. Make sure to take your time and enjoy the mall.

A Great Way To Spend A

By RecreationV |

Yes, it is a mall, with lots of shopping. But it is so much more, too. There are stores for every interest: department, clothing, food, hobby, fun, service,........stores. There is entertainment, activity, rides and amusement places. You can keep busy here all day, if you chose to. However, except for breakfast stops, most places don't open until 11am. We did some shopping, took a 'trip' with Fly Over America, had fun at mini golf and enjoyed some lunch at Chickies. It was a good day for us.

Great Time Waster

By c22hubb |

We spent hours here walking around, wasting time, eating, shopping, and playing mini golf. This is the perfect place to go and spend the day, especially when the weather is bad. The whole family can come here and have a good time. Everything from the amusement park rides and putt putt to basically any store you can imagine makes it for a great family outing.

It is also very close to the airport so if you have a layover this is where you can pop over and hang.

FANTASTIC Destination- something for everyone!

By nyyforever2018 |

Simply put, everything you have ever heard about how cool the mall is and how unique it is compared to every other mall you've been to is 100% accurate. I was expecting a fantastic experience, and Mall of America delivered in every way. Between all the stores and attractions, you can EASILY spend 3 days in the area without ever leaving the mall...and still having seen nowhere near everything the mall has to offer. It's worth a trip all of its' own to Minneapolis even if you don't live in the area to experience this. The attractions are great fun, and there is truly something for everyone. I will absolutely be back, and cannot recommend this place enough.

Not What It Used To Be

By Linda R |

I gave it 4 stars because it was my grandson's first time and he loved every minute of it.

I've been coming here once a year for 25 years. There isn't much left of what once made it so special. I miss Planet Hollywood, Sears, Disney Store, CJ Banks. The new Rainforest Cafe is only a shadow of what it once was.

Personally I thought Camp Snoopy was much cuter than Sponge Bob. My grandson loved the rides though.

This is still the Midwest's answer to Disney World. The mall itself doesn't offer anything truly unique anymore, but it's a fun way to spend a day.

Better bring good shoes

By KG4WFD |

This mall is absolutely enormous! It's quite overwhelming in a way. We never left the first floor and walked 2.5 miles. We didn't really go to do any shopping but instead to just look around and experience the biggest mall in America. Be sure to wear great shoes and have a plan if you are going to shop. The mall has an app that allows you to view maps and build itineraries which I imagine comes in handy if you're planning on a shopping spree.

Overwhelmingly large mall and underwhelming customer service

By Regina R |

I was so excited to visit Mall of America, like one might be excited to visit a national monument, but… it was too much. We shopped our normal stores and they were fine- and there is definitely something for everyone. I felt like we kept getting lost and the restrooms were few and far between and when we did find one they were dirty and not stocked with necessary supplies. I liked the virtual directory they had available but we still got lost using that (maybe we are the issue 😳). We did ride flying over America and that was actually really great. This is one I can mark off the bucket list as we travel across country but I doubt I’ll go out of my way to come back. Lastly, I walked the mall with my 19 year old son and both of us work customer service and we agree that most of the customer service reps in this mall couldn’t care less about their jobs.

Big mall

By Derek S |

It is a huge mall. Parking was easy. Lots of stores and restaurants. A little expensive though. The amusement park was smaller than expected but worth seeing.

A nice Visit

By Yuko-Stu |

We had a nice time walking around the Mall. It has been a few years since we have been there and it was a nice experience to see the changes.

Amazing time

By triotrois |

Such an amazing place with so much to do and see. We are here for a few days so first day was at the roller coasters park!!! So much fun. Next day shopping - so many shops with great prices and so many products you don’t normally see.
Next day cinema CMX amazing place. We have had so much fun will definitely come again.

Christmas Shopping

By Twinsguy |

I come alone just before Christmas and have done so every year since they opened. I've always loved coming here and find it uplifting and fun. The restaurant choices are abundant. The shopping is very good but they have some opportunities since Sears closed. Lots of things to do for any age. It's worthy of an experience and great people watching too.

One visit was enough

By Jori J |

We brought our 2 teens and our 6 year old. The mall is fun for its sheer enormity but other than that, it’s over-hyped. Our kids had a good time but the cost was comparable to Six Flags and the attractions weren’t nearly as numerous or impressive. Also, the signs indicated that child chaperones could ride free, but that’s ONLY if they’re under 42”. This wasn’t clear from the signs. We ended up paying for an all day pass for our 6 year old who was too afraid to ride all by herself. Waste of $$ that could have been prevented with clear signage.
Fly over America was cool and worth the $$$. Our 6yo found it scary but I think most kids would like it.

WOW

By FranFromFlushing |

What can I say. WOW. Overwhelming.
Stores need help (employees). We had intentions of going to some of the attractions and adventures as well as shop. We only got through the shopping LOL. I guess if my kids were younger we would have more of an effort to enjoy the attractions.

Beautiful mall, well lit. Plenty of dining choices. Plenty of stores, but keep in mind there may be multiples of one store. We kept seeing Victoria Secret but it didn’t look the same as the last one. Because there’s two. Same with Claire’s, Sunglass Hut....

Lots of fun for a girls weekend getaway.

Great shopping experience, restaurant variety for quick eats

By Jerome D |

Of course, it's just a massive mall. But it's definitely worth checking off your bucket list if you are in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area. Really does have something for everyone, plenty of shopping and food choices, definitely kid friendly.

Fun for young and the young at heart!

By lovethesunnl |

The four of us, ranging from 25 to 55 spent an enjoyable day at the Mall of America. Parking on the East ramp side of the mall gives you easy access to Nickelodeon Universe. We purchased unlimited day passes, which was very helpful. Go early in the day if possible as it gets quite busy by lunch hour, even during weekdays. We also enjoyed a round of Mini golf at Rock of Ages Blacklight (the cost is not included in the theme park pass as this facility is located outside of the park itself).

Snacks are available within the theme park plus a large variety of restaurants in the mall itself. You can easily spend a full day here!!

MOA + Valet = SCAM!

By Shu123456 |

Valet Parking - 100% SCAM - they happily take your $, you have to park your own car, keep your keys because they close at 7pm - which means if your having dinner you’ve just given these jokers free $. MOA leadership - get rid of these guys and get a proper valet - one that understands dinner hours. What a SCAM!!

Overwhelming…in a good way

By Brendan S |

I had limited expectations for MOA, as I am not much of a shopper, and visited primarily because it is famous. I expected a huge mall, but had no idea how huge it was - a multiple of the size of any other mall I have visited. I also had no idea about the extent of the non-shopping activities and experiences here: a movie theater, an amusement park, mini golf, an aquarium, laser tag, a mirror maze, multiple arcades and virtual reality experiences.

The size of the place and the entertainment experiences overshadow the shopping. There is nothing here that is either junky or especially luxurious. It’s very much name brand middle class stores.

MOA is an overstimulating place. Loud, crowded with activity happening everywhere. But the mall is well-maintained and even has a few artworks. I was also impressed at how polite and well-behaved all the patrons were. There’s good security and there were no troublemakers.

Amazing mall with everything you can think of for adults and kids.

By kantbyluv |

Large mall with lots of things to entertain the kids. Every store you can think of including walgreens, 5 below and all the fancy ones too. There is mini golf, a Nickelodeon amusement park, A nerf gun park, and escape room just to name a few. Lots of food options including Mason's famous lobster stand which was delicious.

MOA

By CHMac🎉 |

We were visiting friends in the area so we decided to get a hotel room by the MOA. It’s a big regular mall. The kids LOVED the roller coasters. I loved the Fly Over America. Plenty of food options and lots to see. The mall crowds varied on the days we visited. I don’t see how malls stay open with these low crowds. Enjoy it while you can!

Good

By Michael P |

Nice and fun really busy and a lot to do with malls and shops and places to eat and hang out. Food courts and restaurants and bars

Plan ahead

By Heather |

Obviously it's a very big mall so it would serve you well to look at the directory unless you want to wander around all day. Additionally, there are several parking lots so if you try to park near the shops you want to visit it will be very helpful. The Nickelodeon amusement park is in the center of the mall on the ground floor.

Steps, Shops & SPAVING at MOA: Better Signage needed

By Jill L |

Mall of America felt like a blend of high-end mall, indoor amusement park, and mega food court—all under one stadium-sized roof. Store turnover is noticeable, like most malls, but it’s still fun for shopping, people-watching, and racking up laps. My only gripe? Signage. I couldn’t find the Aquarium until my legs ran out of Wi-Fi. Racked up thousands of free steps and enjoyed some serious SPAVING: shopping + saving = bliss.

Christmas shopping

By Jim |

Kids seemed lost from arrival to departure. Incohesive shopping experience. Most premium prices and scarce help. It was a Thursday. Was there with six people for several hours. >$200 for sit down lunch.

Worth a visit

By Bozeday |

The amusement park was pretty busy with longer wait times at 12 noon. Much better to wait till 7pm can get so many rides in. Mall directories are
Awesome and give a personal map to get where you need to go. Very clean mall easy to get around.

lack of seating

By john m |

Hey Lucas of mall of America guest services supervisor. Don't play dumb with me on your lack of seating in the mall. There is simply not enough seats thru out the whole mall especially on the north side by the entrance. There is plenty of room throughout the mall to add more seating. And to answer your question about going up to caribou and sitting there, they don't want people coming inn there and taking up space if you aren't going to buy something. Why not put in some rest areas in one of the many vacant spots you use to have stores in. Older people like me would like to have a place to sit and rest after an hour or so.

Fun place, needs holiday decor

By Guest101 |

I love the Mall of America, but during the holiday season the outside seems so blah. I've been to other malls in different states that go all out, beautifully decorated and lit up, for being the biggest mall in America it should go above and beyond, let people get the experience before they even go in. Aside from that, it's a great place to get your walk in, shop, eat, have fun and get your rest.

This is MY happiest place on earth!

By PhylomenaD |

Just love the atmosphere and all the stores. Something for everyone. Every time you THINK you've seen it all, you haven't... You go around ANOTHER corner and boom, more stores!

The Largest Mall in the United States!

By Chris and Alison USA |

The food court on Level 3 offered a great selection. Directly across was an indoor mini-golf course that was clean, imaginative, thematic and fun! One of the escalators to Level 4 was out of order.
We loved the electronic mall directories scattered conveniently throughout the mall.
This mall has quite a bit of activities compared to other malls.
Very clean.

Worth the visit

By James L |

Always a cool place to visit, I think your experience will be dependent on your life experiences. I grew up in South Dakota and visited in my 20’s just after it opened. It was huge, unlike almost anything I had ever seen. I have since been many places, live in Orlando, and it was very underwhelming. Lacks many stores I see in similar malls. Overall, kids had a good time and we got a lot of exercise walking.

Amazing!

By Staci B |

The Mall of America has been on my bucket list since I can remember, so I absolutely had to visit it while I was In Minneapolis. It did not disappoint! I loved the M & M’s shop and the fact that it was like a theme park in a mall. There are many great shops and plenty of choices for places to eat. The parking was also easy, but that was probably because I went on a Thursday. I can see how it would be hard to find a space if it were more crowded. I saw some reviews of it not being safe, but I never felt unsafe. Just watch your stuff and purses like you would at any mall. Overall, I loved shopping there.

Must do if you are around

By thailanat |

Great shopping center, huge, with 520 shops (sometimes duplicates), amusement park and 50 restaurants. Do not miss the M&M's store on 3 floors and the Lego store with its huge creations. Well served by the local metro blue line

It's a Mall

By Paige R |

It's a mall. Yes, the largest mall in the country. But it's still a mall, with mostly the same stores you find jn most other malls. I was staying near there for a work conference and thankfully the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle. I was able to visit one two separate evenings, for just over an hour each night, so I trully didn't get to experience or even see half of what was there.

For families with young kids, there is a LOT to keep the kiddos entertained.

It's a destination I've wanted to experience since I first heard about it. Now, I've been there, done that. Don't feel the need to go back.

Stay Away From This Place

By shellyc653 |

This is the worst place ever. People here are mean and have a terrible disposition. Not friendly or welcoming. The people that visit here have no manners and just want to fight or have altercations. The food court and bathrooms are filthy. I would never come back here again.

Big shopping center with attached hotels; great experience for kids; Christmas is special!!

By marvin s |

I recently attended a group meeting in one of the multiple hotels attached to the Mall. Easily connected to the Mall by enclosed walkway into the huge Mall with three roller coasters, multiple attractions for all ages. All in a huge domed facility with over 125 stores. Be sure to get free reservations for the tour behind the scenes, the tours leave at 9 a.m. twice a week and are really interesting for all ages. The light rail leaves from the Mall directly to airport and Minneapolis and St. Paul very reasonable.
I would return for a group meeting or for the children activities.

Amazing Attractions

By Brandon |

This is a must do if you are in the area. The attractions are amazing and there is something for everyone. Rides, mini golf, shopping, and so much more. Plan to spend more than on day here. It will take you hours just to walk around all the stores.

Has just about everything you need!

By Jilly070 |

Took my daughter here to find a dress for a wedding we are attending in April, and we found two we loved at two different stores right away. We ate lunch at one of the cafe courts at Shake Shack. There are big restaurants and lots of fast food places of all kinds. This has always been a favorite place for us to shop!

Gorgeous destination mall with plenty of everything

By bruce p |

This is a great mall and I think but it's considered the largest mall in America. Has several levels each with something different and kind of seemed a little different throughout the different quadrants of it. Plenty of shopping with your normal mall stores but also some unique stores that you don't find that every Mall. Some local fare as well as National Fair. Only a few department stores most of them are specialty shopping or retail stores. They do have a couple of great areas for food one is your traditional food court with fast food type servings the other one has more of the upscale specialty restaurants like Bubba Gump's in Cadillac Ranch. There is definitely something for everyone here. They have an amusement park in the middle. They have an escape room. They have an arcade. They have a Lego store. This is a fun place

Great Big Mall

By BinzAustralia |

Mall of America is huge, has a great fun park, lots of nice eateries, and shopping is to the individual’s requirements. There is plenty of parking, and it is very busy in weekends.

Great Mall

By Jake |

The Mall of America is Minnesota’s treasure. There is so much to do here. It is in pristine condition.

Bring your Walking Shoes!

By Susan C |

We like to walk the MOA and look at the different stores. It’s too bad some of the stores are just duplicates (one store on one level and the same store on a different level). Our best purchase was food this year and a purchase from TYPO.

Why?

By CraftBeers |

Self disclosure I am not a shopper, so a mall is not my thing. I was still drawn to this place as it is known across the country. There was nothing about this place that was special. It's just a bigger version of every mall across the USA and in my backyard. All of the stores are pretty much the same ones you see everywhere. There is no specialty draw for the shopping.

There is an indoor amusement park attached to it, but I found it to be very expensive and not really part of the mall. The whole concept seems like two very different things fused together. Most malls have some kind of kids play area, which is a natural connection. Going up a level to be a full amusement park indoors does not work for me especially at the prices they have.

I am one and done. I can't imagine being here when the parking garage is packed and there are people everywhere.

Nickolodeon Studios

By amy a |

Awesome time! We bought our all day ride wristbands at Costco for $50 for 2 bands. Lots of great rides for all ages. My older kids loved the Dutchmans rope course with the zipline. Only issue is in the off season the rides basically take turns on the hour. So you can show up at a ride just to find out it doesn't open for another half hour.

EPIC FAIL: No one has Peacok

By RLG764 |

If you are looking to watch a NFL playoff game that's only on Peacock do not go to the Mall of America. Not even Buffalo Wild Wings had the game or Peacock for that matter. We called all of the major bar/grills and even had a security guard trying to help us. EPIC Fail Mall of America.

The mall is definitely showing its age. There were a lot of empty storefronts and too many duplicate stores.

Bonus: There's a Baggalini; which is the only active storefront for this brand.

Increased security on Saturday was a nice touch; but it was only on Saturday that they were checking bags.

The mall could use some fresh faces and more unique stores and definitely more sit down restaurants. What about a cheesecake factory or maggiano or Brio/Bravo. It's a lot of fried food.

Also if the mall is promoting that store hours are 10am to 9pm ALL stores need to be held to these hours. We were rushed to find a place for dinner because mall hours said 9pm but most restaurants were closing at 7pm.

The mall also needs to have a skywalk to IKEA. On super cold days folks from the southern states who do not have heavy coats are NOT walking out in negative temps.

The mall is also very people-ee lots of folks walking aimlessly without a clue of how to keep traffic moving smoothly. Lots of dodging going on and too many pre-teens walking around without adult supervision.

Big shopping malll but no soul/atmosphere; however great for children!

By Willem v |

We visited the Mall more than 20 year ago for the last time. A lot of shops are gone, , corona?, new have arrivd and the mall has been updated. However it still is a Mall without soul and atmosphere. The only fun is for the kids; the Lunapark.

All you need

By Solara |

It's pretty big to shop here on a regular basis, but anyone visiting the twin cities area should check it out due to the size, for the shopping, and lots of other fun things to do at the mall. There's a ton of restaurant options, mini golf, escape room, Nickelodeon Universe with rides, Fly Over America, Crayola Experience, Sea Life and more.

MOA tour just okay

By AverageJoe55 |

We took the behind the scenes tour at MOA and came away unimpressed. The tour guide did his best to bring the stories to life but there were not enough to make it worth 90 minutes. The behind the scenes part of the tour was the highlight but even that was it enough to make it worth the investment.

A good mall overall

By Mark B |

Was very excited to see rides in a indoor mall, I'm in my early 60s still love the thrills. Shopping not bad some stores I grew up with and was still a great place to go to. This place is big have your good walking shoes on.I'm sure before covid there were more stores but can only imagine the cost of doing business here.

Fun trip for spring break!

By Navigator24683198977 |

Really neat, beautiful place! Tons of store & food options, & a fun amusement park (Nickelodeon Universe) in the center. Flyover America is awesome, but can be dizzying for those afraid of heights. Wear good walking shoes, the mall is huge! Love the map kiosks found in the mall hallways to help you know where to go. More bathrooms, bubblers, & seating in the mall hallways would be great. Also, many of the stalls in the women's bathrooms didn't have hooks, which was unfortunate. Ikea is nearby, which was fun to check out, & the airport & many hotel options are super close. Overall, a fun trip for spring break!

We're from MN but drove down to the cities for a few days to get away for a bit and because no one should be leaving their home states at this time. We stayed across the street so walked over to the mall 3 different times. Most people were wearing masks but some were not although they should be! Don't forget that masks are to protect others, not yourself! We saw many people with masks on but they had them down on their chin, what is the point of that? Many stores and restaurants are still not open but there was plenty to see and do. Many stores also require a mask to get in. They also limit the number of people in the stores and we saw a lot of lines for certain shops (we waited in line for the Amazon store but it was a disappointment). We did not stay long each trip, just walked a level and got food. We will come down again when Covid goes away and the amusement park is open.

Don’t make a special trip here not worth it!

By Denise1236123 |

It’s just a big mall! Nothing special! I would not go again unless I was in the area. Does have some good restaurants in the mall.

Great experience

By Lyndsey R |

This place is crazy big! 4 floors of shops. We could have walked around the entire place all day! So many different stores, anything you can think of. So many places to eat also. Plenty of parking and escalators. I found the directories helpful and lots of bathrooms as well. Even has an amusement park and aquarium! 10/10 recommend

Stunning Waste of Time

By Robert H |

This place is a nightmare. I spend over an hour sitting in traffic to get into the parking structure and looking for a parking space. They have signs stating how many parking spaces are available on each level, and a light system like I have seen overseas where there is a green light above an open space and red lights over occupied spaces. Except it does not work. Many green lights. No spaces. The parking and traffic control is a joke. Once you get in. Yes...it is a big mall with a roller coaster and an aquarium, but everything is extremely expensive. The aquarium was $25 and the movie/ride was $20. If you have seen a mall, a roller coaster, and an aquarium, you have seen everything this mall has to offer...just not in the same place. This has to be one of the most ill conceived shopping centers I have ever seen and absolute waste of time.

Flew 3900miles to See This

By LoveUFLoveFLA |

I absolutely Loved this trip. There are so many stores to choose from. The mall itself is very clean and feels safe. I saw multiple security staff on duty at all times of the day.

The theme park area was so much fun.

Lots of food options too.

The Mall was Huge! We Totally Enjoyed All the Stores and Restaurants

By Sheryl M |

We had a wonderful time exploring Mall of America! The cleaning crews kept it clean and pleasing.
We had a ball going to the Moose Mountain Adventure Golf several times, the various stores and restaurants and four floors of adventure. We were there fifteen days and enjoyed every moment.
We had fun trying to figure out where to eat each meal every day. Of course, there were great places, decent places and not so great places just like anywhere.
But overall we had a great time.
The carnival in the center of the mall was something to see.
We had a wonderful time and know you will too.
Give yourself at least one to two weeks to take your time and enjoy every minute.

Something for Everyone

By Donna J |

For years, The Mall of America has been on my bucket list. Made it out here and maybe since I’m older now found it challenging to walk around the whole Mall. We broke our visit down to a few hours each day. It was fun to see and they have plenty of stores. Some stores have several locations throughout the Mall.

Thought the indoor amusement park was a cool idea but we were not traveling with any kids so just walked through.

Plan on a lot of walking - each floor is over a mile and take bags - some places charge for bags for your purchases.

If you are traveling with kids - there is plenty to do with them between the rides, they also have M n M store, Lego Store, Crayola store & experience, Toys R Us, and It’s Sugar plus more.

So many stores, restaurants, etc. - all under one roof.

Something for everyone and all ages

By Mickie M |

Beautiful 4 story mall with inside amusement park and aquarium. There is something for everyone at this mall. Great variety of stores, restaurants, and activities for all ages. Easy to get to and easy to navigate. The mall has two hotels that are connected and numerous hotels in the area offer shuttle service. Many of the stores offer more extended lines of their product. For those that love to shop - window or otherwise - and maybe break up the day with other activities or great food - this is a great place to visit!

Where are the specialty shops

By afrahm2726 |

I used to love going to Mall of America. I felt like they used to have shops that were unique and one of a kind. Now its all the same stores you can find in most areas. I guess for the kids i see the appeal of the rides and things to do. For couples maybe going to the bars or restaurants could be nice. The parking is always awful and I feel like they need security in the parking ramps.

Mall on steroids.

By Thehare |

How can I say this? It’s a mall on steroids. Shopping, eating, touristy things, amusement park and lots of walking. We spent 7 hours there and did not see every store nor rode every ride. We recommend the House of Illusions-enjoyed that. I can now mark it off my bucket list.

Awesome mall!

By Michele L |

First timer! I loved this mall, so many store options. A lot of people like to shop on line however I am one of the people that like to go and try on clothes, feel the fabrics and know what I am getting! The mall was so large I did not get through the entire mall in one day. I actually got lost and directions were closed due to Covid. At least I walked off dinner in advance! This is also a great place for the kiddos too with LEGO’s, rides and other fun things to do. I would go again for a full weekend. This would be a great place for mother/daughter get away! (We stayed at the JW Marriott, attached to mall, very walkable) go and have fun! The one picture attached is located walking into the mall from the hotel. All butterflies! Beautiful!

Great!

By Amanda C |

Beautiful mall! It had sparkling lights all throughout it was great to really around. So many stores to choose from as well as restaurants. It was fun to watch all the rides. Great experience. Would go back and recommend.

Something for Everyone

By DutchLace |

Made a detour here on our travels. So happy we did. I was here in 1993. Things have changed some but still looking good. Enjoyed the shopping and watching the rides. Plenty of restaurants to choose from. Loved the kiosk located in various areas to locate places. Much better than maps that say...you are here...and then attempt to locate your destination.

Spend the day

By SouthernBred59 |

You can easily spend a day here. There is a wide variety of shops, department stores, restaurants and entertainment. Two hotels, Radisson and Marriott, are attached. If you get tired and need to take a break go to the top floor, sit in the comfy chairs and "people watch" for a while.

So Much Fun Under One Roof!

By Lee Ann Murray |

You could spend days inside Mall of America and still not get to all the fun things to do. Perfect for kids and adults alike. The rides are really fun and such a variety. Lots of great options for food and you can literally buy anything even unique hard to find stores have shops here.

See something different every visit!

By Madogfechan |

We visit here every time we come from Scotland to visit our friends who live nearby. It struck me that every time I’ve visited it feels quite different - shops come and go, decor and eating areas change, the numbers of people varies enormously, the lighting might seem different etc. This visit we noticed that Sears had disappeared and there were a few empty units. - a sign of the times we see everywhere these days. However there is plenty to see, marvel at and enjoy! We went to shop one day and to exercise another day as it was cold and snowy outdoors. We walked briskly round all three levels, going in to every nook and cranny and it took us 53 minutes! You will see lots of people doing this....

Overrated. Been to better malls. Disappointed

By Camda |

I’m surprised to be honest the mall rates so highly on Trip Advisor. I have been to some supersize malls eg Edmonton, Canada and Meadowlands, New Jersey. This mall didn’t feel ‘supersize’ or exceptional. We went on a Monday night and the shops were so dead and staff all on their phones bored. I asked two Mall Staff (not store staff) where the Lindt shop was and they couldn’t tell me. The touch screen directories I tried were not working, you touched the screen and nothing happened - not good enough especially in such a large place trying to find where a particular store is. In desperation I downloaded the Mall app and marked favourite stores. Even on the app there were no directions to the store you wanted. The whole technology side of the mall visit was a real turn off especially in this day and age. Food court very expensive, more than you would pay outside of the mall. Overall a disappointment.

It was second time and I will be back

By Fal L |

The Mall is huuuuge. The safe and secure. There are sanitizer stations available. There is transportation from and to from the airport. There are many different restaurants. You can get your nails and hair done. And is a roller coaster and lots of stuff for kids. And shop til you drop. I want to go back soon.

The best mall I have been to

By amyw2012 |

We spent almost 2 entire days in this mall. We bought a package that included a pass for 1 day at the amusement park and then also 2 A attractions and 1 B attraction. The rides were really fun. We also did lots of shopping but never even made it to most of the stores. Many stores have multiple locations. There are also many experience places there. We did the 5d mine experience. It was pretty lame. We also did the Fly Across America ride which was okay. The Big Game show was super fun. The Museum of Illusion was also nice. We also got slimed here which was great. Our family enjoyed our time at the mall and all there was to do there .

Lots of stores to check out

By Cindy L |

Huge mall with lots of stores and restaurants to check out. They have a great selection of stores and there is always a new store to check out. A great selection of restaurants to check out.

Shops, Food and FUN!!!

By Chuie |

Lots to see and do inside this mega mall, yet you can do it all in a weekend. Many varied food choices and plenty of unique shops scattered amongst the standard mall staples. Fun for kids and adults with the amusement rides, shows, movies, and arcades. Parking is ample and the mall is easily accessible by public transport, too. Only complaints are: the large vacancy from the closure of the anchor store, Sears; the mall coupon book has coupons for stores that no longer exist; the minimal number and location of storage lockers.

Entertaining and fun

By Cece Y |

Entertaining, kids loved it! Lots to do, fun places to eat, be ready to spend money but who isn’t ready for that at a giant mall???!! We had a blast at the amusement park!

Lots of restaurants and a great way to spend an evening (or more!)

By HeavyHiker |

It's a shopping mall on steroids. Mostly chain stores you can find in most parts of the country, but there are some unique shops, like Minnesota souvenir shops. We primarily went for dinner and ate at Bubba Gumps...then stopped by a few stores. Overall neat experience...very clean and safe...a lot of people but not crowded. The blue line for the light train rail was very convenient to take to our downtown Minneapolis hotel...about a 40 minute ride.

Great Trip

By Misty H |

Great place to visit, especially in the winter. It was very busy (Valentines Day weekend), but we had a wonderful time. Nickelodeon theme park, Sea Life Aquarium, great shopping, and so much great food. We will definitely be back.

Huge place. Friendly people. Wear a mask.

By MomWhoMatters |

You can find just about everything there! Some rides aren’t open and some stores try to close early, but there is a ton to see and do, there.

Large and unique mall

By SnowyShasta |

I'd heard of this mall well before we ever even thought of coming to Minnesota, so upon discovering that it was quite near the airport and our hotel, we went over to check it out one evening. It's huge and we got an hour or two of entertainment just wandering around window shopping and looking at all the thrill rides and stores. We especially liked the big displays around the Lego Store.

We went into some of the stores, and they seemed similarly priced to other malls we've seen at home, and even bought a souvenir t-shirt for our home. We also grabbed some dinner at one of the many food court eating places. Overall it was a fun way to spend an evening (especially one that was a little rainy) and see a very unique indoor location.

Go at least once!

By Laura R |

You should check this place out at least once. It is a giant mall, with an aquarium (which was a good way to spend an hour), and an amusement park inside. The Lego store had a lot of displays. The amusement park is for young kids, but it was fun to walk around. There are limited sit-down food options, and the stores vary in price.

Super big mall with lots of choice

By Florian S |

The mall is not far from the airport. There are tons of shops and restaurants and it is very spacious. There is an indoor amusement park in the middle.

Activities there are a must

By Sylvio A |

Even if I don't really like shopping (especially in a place designed for tourists) I enjoyed the Mall. Restaurants are interesting and if you have kids or are in a group you have to go to Nickelodeon universe, the "Sea life", Lego and Crayola experience etc... for many interesting activities.

Better for kids activities then shopping

By Abdul Sami |

Visited this mall on March 30, 2024.

I have heard so much about this mall before coming here but my experience left me little disappointed when it’s come to shopping.

There are many stores here but same store are everywhere else as well. There is no uniqueness in shopping experience.

If you consider other activities like Nickelodeon Universe (kind of fun activity park for kids and young ones) Sea life, Lego
Adventure park etc then it’s totally worth it.

This place is ideal for family with small kids. Here under one roof kids can play, eat and have lots of fun.

Bathrooms were not in good clean condition.

If you are coming from another state or from Canada for shopping only then there is no need at all. Spending in US $ will cost you more.

Three stars

MOA tour

By Karen E |

I went on the walking tour of the mall with my family today. It was great! It was very informative. Luke and Jenn are wonderful. We did other stuff after. The main reason we were there was for the tour.

Hanging out with good girlfriends

Hanging out with good friends. Seeing all the great shops. Easy to get there. Something for everyone at any age. I’ve gone before during the week and had a great time. Saturday was a little busy Sunday was much quieter.

We visited this national attraction last weekend while we were visiting the Minneapolis area. I would highly recommend that you give yourself plenty of time, because the mall has 4 floors and hundreds of different stores.

Happy Family Time

By H A |

My family loves Mall of America and every couple years we visit the mall and especially nickelodeon park kids love to get the rides and enjoy it different variety of foods

A Favorite Destination

By Macy |

We love visiting the mall of america a few times a year. There is always a wide variety of things to do and places to shop. For the most part clean, safe, and easy to get around in. Compared the other malls, obviously this one is massive and is packed with people. So if you don’t like big crowds, try to go on a weekday or time it isn’t busy.

You can spend hours there

By Olga |

The biggest mall in US.
A lot of brands, nice food court, LEGO imagination center and much more...
As of 2020 - too many same stores represented on two floors, ex. ZARA, Bath & body and others. This space could be occupied by new brands / shops...

Eat + Drink + Shop = Happiness

By Anga Dartse |

Was in Bloomington for two days with my husband. I was able to shop while my husband drank at the bars in the restaurants.

Old fashion Mall!!!

By Angy B |

It was great to be in a functioning mall. Any store you can think of and an amusement park to boot. How can you go wrong? Its helpful to know where you are going in the mall before you park! Great experience.

One Day Visit

By Tony the RVer |

What a cool place to spend the day and some money. Well itbis a mall with stores and places to eat, but so much more. Parking was easy and shopping was awesome. So glad we came. Cbeck out our video on Youtube at Coolest Life.

It’s huge but it’s fun!

By travelswithfashion |

It’s what you would expect. A GIANT mall. If you have older people with you.. rent a wheelchair for $10 with a $25 refundable deposit. Saved my grandparents

Good place.

By gler Mer |

Great place! Good food and nice rides! Its great with or friends or family. And stroes are also good.

Huge mall with wverything!

By Bernardo F |

Huge mall. Plenty of parking. But it might be too big of a mall. Lol. Restaurants and just about every store u know is there. Restaurants and an amusement park on property too as well as an aquarium

Overrated. Check out the other attractions the Twin Cities has to offer instead!

By William Kim |

Nope. I wasn't feeling the hype of the Mall of America at all. I do not understand why this mall is even considered an attraction. That's just like saying the CF Eaton Centre in Toronto should be an attraction when it obviously isn't, because it's just a mall.

This place is a huge tourist trap. Most things sold here are more expensive than usual (no surprise, of course). A lot of the stores you find here can also be found in your local mall, such as Nordstrom, Foot Locker, Abercrombie, etc. True, there's stores, restaurants and attractions at MOA you can't find elsewhere such as FlyOver America (an AMAZING ride), a Microsoft store, the Twin City Grill, Minnesota-themed stores (mainly souvenir shops) and Nickelodeon Universe, but I didn't see this a good enough reason for me to absolutely fall in love with this place. In the end, a mall is a mall to me, and the "wow" factor of visiting here faded rather quickly.

The good news is that there is free WiFi and parking is free here. Something you won't always find in a place like Mall of America. There are also plenty of food options, even though some might be overpriced, and the washrooms are quite clean, modern and frequently sanitized.

If this is your first time to the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, I'd say go ahead and visit this place, but only one time. There are many other great attractions the Twin Cities (and the state of Minnesota) offers such as the Guthrie Theatre, Stone Arch Bridge and nearby Minnehaha Falls that won't rip you off of your money as much as this place.

Large mall, amusement park for kids

By LovesPhotoOps |

Top-notch shopping mall with an amusement park for children in the center. We got lucky and found a parking spot in a small surface lot outside the L.L. Bean store, but they do have large parking decks too. We walked thru most of the mall and did not notice a lot of vacant spots. It was a Saturday night and there were plenty of people there and it felt safe. We ate at Chick-Fil-A in the food court area and shopped in the very nice L.L. Bean store.

Miles of Shopping, Food and Amusement

By caribbeantraveler91 |

A must see when In Minneapolis. This place is massive. So big that it has interactive maps throughout. Although some of the storefronts are closed, there are certainly plenty of options to choose from. They had stores I never heard of before. You will definitely get your exercise walking through this place. Not only does it have shopping, it has a food court and an amusement park. The mall can be easily accessed via the train. We felt it was worth the trip.

Amazing mall!

By travelingCAgal |

Ha ha this was the first sight we saw while in Minneapolis based upon a recommendation from the car rental agent at the airport. I’m glad we came here because it definitely was NOT on my list of things to see or do thinking it was “just another mall”. It’s quite unique with the amusement park inside! The rides were so cute such as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle ride, the log ride like at Disneyland and even a carousel! They also had a climbing attraction with murals of famous scenes across America. The mall also had so many unique stores such as Columbia, Eddie Bauer all in the same place. It also had a mixture of interesting restaurants including Margaritaville, Rain Forest and Cowboy Jack’s. We closed our evening by riding one of the tamer rides as you can buy tickets for individual rides. The amusement park gave a nice vibe to the mall. We didn’t even touch the tip of the iceberg it is so big! We never did find a big sign to take a picture in front of that read “Mall of America” even though we looked everywhere. (I believe it’s outside somewhere?)

A-MA-ZING

Went at Christmas time. Decorations gorgeous. Light show very good. Atmosphere itself great. Super clean. SO MANY OPTIONS! Go for the experience.

The mall of sadness

By Wanderer826601 |

Not a place to shop. High prices and disgruntled employees. No price differences from one store to the next. It appeared to be nothing but one big store housed in multiple rooms with the same high prices. Not similar prices but identical pricing.

Sames stores as everywhere but dirtier

By JamesJOceanside_CA |

Same stores as we have at home in a dirty setting.
Don't be fooled - it's all the stores you find elsewhere with a couple of Minnesota stores thrown in
Bathrooms were horrendous and i leaned on the railing to look at something only to get a dirty streak in my shirt and hands.
Bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned at all that day and stunk worse than your worst gas station experience.

Fun to visit once

By bushes5 |

We had to visit since we were in the area. I was not that impressed with the stores. Overall, it's a huge place and it was fun to walk around and to say we've been there, but the stores were not that unique or different from what you would see in any big city. Plenty of restaurant choices and the amusement park was fun to see but we were only there for about 3 hours and felt we had seen and done everything we wanted to. We did not have children with us so that might make a difference. We did not do the aquarium, mini golf or other activities, as we've "been there, done that" at other places. If you lived locally i can see why it would be fun to pop in for some fun, especially during the winter months. Parking was easy and plentiful although we were told it fills up quickly on the weekends.

Its definitely a mall

By TheMensch |

Ok. This is a mall. Your enjoyment of this mall will largely depend on your tolerance of malls in general.

Do you like malls? Can you stand being in a mall? Of the answer is no, then you should stop reading.

However, if you like malls…. Really like malls… then this is the spot for you.

I took the wife here on vacation. That’s right. Take that shocked look off your face because this is an actual tourist destination. There are two major hotels attached to the mall as well as several that are in walking distance.

Shopping aside, there is a Nickelodeon themed amusement park here and two mini golf courses. There is a movie theater and several arcades. There’s an aquarium. Lego Store is here… so is M&M Store and Crayola
Experience.

Ok, we did other stuff in Minneapolis. We strolled Nicollet Mall (not a mall) and toured the sculpture garden and the Walker Art Center. We hit a couple of other museums and a casino.

But we came for the mall. We like malls. This is super mall. We liked it.

Its big. Wear comfortable shoes. Its easy to navigate and there are interactive kiosks everywhere.

We ate many of our meals here. There are many sit-down full service restaurants, plus a bunch of fast-casual spots and lots of food court options. Plus coffee and desserts. Lots of coffee places and lots of dessert options.

Bring money. It’s a mall. There is shopping. This is the point.

Mall of American Christmas weekend visit

By Jeff Y |

The mall is very large with an amusement park right in the middle, tons of places to eat, and almost every store you can think of.

Plan ahead

By woosusan |

Due to covid, the mall is not fully opened. There are many activities that are not opened. The website for the mall helps with that. Most stores and the mall itself are taking steps to socially distance. Masks are required. They are keeping capacity at 50%. This includes closing parking.

Some unique stores and dining options.

Consider a map or download their ap. It can be disorienting inside. Multilevel and winged options can keep you wandering looking for the exit.

More difficult to navigate than a hedge maze.

By Alex K |

In terms of what the MOA has to offer, I was impressed. Navigating the mall, on the other hand, was incredibly difficult. The signage is terrible; what little signage exists is often very difficult to figure out. And the touch-screen directories located throughout the mall are useless (you'll understand what I mean when you try to use them).

I've been to over 30 different airports in the United States over the last 10+ years and I've always found navigating airports to be incredibly easy. The same should be the case for a place like this. Hire the people who create airport signage and directories as consultants for the MOA; it is badly needed.

Seriously?!

lots to do for everyone Went with our Children and Grandchildren Loved the rides, the shops, great food choices. Great winter adventure

If you're visiting, stop by at least for the phto op

By scott r |

As a mall, it's a mall. But where else will you find a full fledged amusement park in the center court. I hadn't really looked at photos before I came, and - not being picky on parking quickly foud a surface spot outside LL Bean. Wandering through, ok, just a mall. And then you come to the center. Wow. Even without inclination to ride rides, it's pretty fun to see. I can see if local, a place to turn the kids loose for an hour or two. Otherwise, just big and not 'upscale' As I wanted overlook shots, I traveresed a fair section of the place - not sure if I'd seek it out for shopping were I local. Right near the airport, probably a good nighttime distraction for the bored traveler.

Nobody wears masks properly

By MNviews |

If you are worried about covid I would suggest not going to the mall. We stayed in an attached hotel for three nights and went to the mall each day. At least 50% of the people walking around either had their mask pulled down to their chin or had it pulled below their nose. Lots of Mall security walking around but it didn't seem like there was any enforcement over the mask policy. Some of the stores had lines because only so many people can be allowed in at one time. One clothing store we went to did not have their changing room open.

Coolest mall ever!

By Yasmin M |

It was an amazing experience for me and my family, especially the theme park and the LEGO store. Amazing place for kids and adults. Highly recommend

Still just the shopping mall

By advcards |

Definitely on the grander scale for shopping but the bottom line still is shopping mall but a few things other than shopping to do this and plenty of food options am I glad I saw it. Yes do I need to come back no

You Have to see it!

By dambanker |

Yes it is a mall, but it goes beyond the typical mall. I'm not a shopper but it really has everything and is a spectacle in its own right. In the centre is the Nickelodeon section that really is a amusement park for kids and the young at heart. We were there for Black Friday so the mall was extremely busy but we still found parking fairly easy and the crowds added to the energy there although it did cut our visit short as we only had a limited time to be here. It was worth the visit just to see. If my kids were young I would bring them here and not shop at all, it really looked like a lot of fun.

Variety stores

By Jessica C |

I enjoyed shopping here. There’s every store you can think of here. Plus the roller coaster rides and aquarium! I went to shop for the pre-black Friday deals. The mall is very clean. I love the Christmas decorations throughout the mall as well. You’ll definitely get your steps in here.

Shop here though manage your expectations

By Scott G |

We spent maybe half a day here; it is close to the airport. First: it’s big. Second: Other than a great kiddie amusement park and an aquarium, the specialness runs out fast. It’s great if you want to do a lot of shopping while the rest of your posse enjoys the great outdoors of Minnesota, and a great place to bring kids for a day of fun on the rides … and if winter isn’t your thing, this is the place to go. So many eateries to choose from!
Otherwise, I’m afraid I didn’t find it much different from any other mall. It’s not chockful of special little shops. It’s not decorated to impress you (the missed opportunities abound), and it’s not architecturally dazzling. It’s not Las Vegas or a world’s fair … it’s big.

First visit

By Kipp K |

We spent 5 days at the Radisson hotel. We explored the mall daily. Even with the pandemic, we had a very good time. The mall has something for everyone.
The mall is clean. The dealings we had with staff, vendors, and others was very good. All the people were friendly.
This is a great place for a family to spend time. There is something for everyone. Food, entertainment and shopping. We will be back.

A must do if in monnesota

By tomandi1111 |

MOA is a must do if in Minnesota. Lots of shops and restaurants. Not the same during Covid, as all restaurants were closed.

Horrible

By Ceslie G |

We came from Houston Tx for Mall of America and I was disappointed! We took the kids to Nickelodeon and only a few rides were open not worth $20 a ticket! The workers in most of the mall obviously hate their jobs! They’re so rude and I did not see one worker smiling! We definitely will not come back!

My second home!

I visit this place whenever I can! Live about 3.5 miles west in Bloomington. I could look at several shops all day and I have quite a few favorites.

Disney Land for Shopping

By Achim4711 |

One should look closely at the list of shops before visiting. The mall may be huge, but many of the shops are specialty stores that are not interesting to everyone. A visit to an outlet may be more suitable.

HUGE!!

By Dakota W |

I'd read about it beforehand, so I wasn't completely shocked. But, it's difficult to comprehend in advance just how big a mall with an indoor aquarium, roller coaster and Legoland is! You can even download an app to help you navigate :)

Amazing place to visit at least once..

By Sugah-n-Pops |

This place is Huge!! The amusement park seemed to be a big attraction to the mall. The shopping is about normal for a mall. Expect to spend about 4 hours here just to walk around the place. There are kiosk located around the area with directions around the mall. The Fly American simulator is great. It is worth the $22.00 fee. I would recommend at least one visit.

Lace up your walking shoes

By Joshua Dean |

It's no secret this place is massive, in fact it's supposedly the biggest shopping mall in America. I was quite amazed by just how much was on offer here.. You'll find just about whatever it is you're after here

I read plenty of reviews that recommended 3 days to see it all and found this to be a huge exaggeration. Partner & I made it through here in 5 hours max and that's shopping, browsing the bookstore, aquarium, and a hefty meal to top it all off. Of course if you have children and want to ride the amusement rides you will spend a lot longer, but I still think 1 full day should see you through.

That said, the layout made navigation a breeze. Parking was easy & free.

Amusement Park is Amazing!

By Jack |

The best mall I have every been to! I went in May of 2017 and December of 2021. Both times it was an amazing experience! The amusement park is great for all ages and was amazing!

Had to try it once

By Cougboy65 |

Took the wife and my two boys to Mall of America. It's a fun place to visit once. We flew in for the visit and overall I'd say it was worth the price. In all honesty, it's just another mall. For the locals I'm sure it isn't all that exciting but we enjoyed it. The prices for things that we looked at weren't bad overall. They have some great food places and a few neat shops to go through that I think are unique to the mall. It's a destination I would recommend you visit once but maybe not a second time.

The largest Mall in America, great times

By Robert H |

Spend the whole day, but bring some walking shoes and get used to crowds if you come on a Saturday or a major holiday (or black friday like we did). There is not much they don't have when it comes to shopping, food, or entertainment. Be sure to check out the rotunda for a random performance that might be playing. The only thing I can warn about is sometimes the lines are very long and a store may be understaffed, making it even worse.

Prepare to spend a whole day here

This place was so much fun! I completed over 15,000 steps the day I went from riding the rides to shopping and eating it was an action packed day. I recommend the 4 bundle wrist band from the site. It gave us enough activities to keep us entertained all day. The park and mall was clean. Food court was delicious, had some amazing tacos and other snacks. I went on Friday and it was very empty. I walked on to all the rides with no wait. No long lines in the stores. The workers actually seemed pretty bored with how empty it was. I also went again in a Sunday and it was a little more packed but still not bad.

Not helpful for mobility impaired

By TA R |

Had read that mobility scooters were available at each guest services desk at each of the main entrances. Drove 2 1/2 hrs, spent $$$ for hotel next to MOA, for fun day planned for my soon to start college kiddo & a friend. Visited Tues around 11:30 a.m. Went in south entrance & desk was closed for the day; called guest services and rep suggested I go to another entrance. Very frustrating as obviously I have trouble with mobility or I would not be wanting to rent a scooter. Moved my car to anther parking site adjacent to east entrance, called guest services to assure there would be a scooter available, and rep told me it would be fine (after putting me on hold to check) saying that "someone could get one from the basement" for me as there were none at the desk at the moment. I went in and there were two people working, they said they had no scooters there and told me I could go to the north or west entrance. At no time did anyone on the phone or in person offer to radio elsewhere for a scooter or to go get one for me; this mall is HUGE and it costs $40 to rent the scooter. If it were easy for me to hop from entrance to entrance, I would not be needed a scooter. Left completely disgusted and killed time elsewhere while my guests were in the mall. First and last time I will go to MOA.

Mind Blown

This mall is incredible, they have every store you can imagine...and some you didn't even know existed. There are multiple other experiences as well. We walked around for 3 hours and marveled this modern shrine to American Capitalism.

Stricter Mask Control is Ideal

By The Autistic Traveler |

Let me preface by saying that I adored my experience at the Mall of America—my first time, and my first realization that every other mall I’ve visited in my life is most pale in comparison. “Massive” is practically an understatement. There is essentially no way to see and fully do everything in a single day. Hundreds of shops, scores of chic, popular restaurant chains and upscale eateries, and activity after activity—LEGO, Nickelodeon, et al.! It’s simply otherworldly. The immersive experience you get is unmatched anywhere else and perhaps rivaled only in places like Dubai and Edmonton.

Now, for what it’s worth, I do want to express how I feel about the so-called anti-maskers who did stop by the facility on my visit. I believe that mall management, whomever that may be, must have greater and more effective enforcement of wearing masks. While I felt much safer than the dangerous Galleria Mall in Houston, where there were more unmasked guests than masked, the MOA can ideally still improve. If it’s the mall rule, let alone city and state law (right!!??), please don’t feel wrong about approaching a shopper, enforcing the mask rule, and kicking him/her out if they don’t comply. Please don’t feel bad about that. MOA has enough staff and should be able to tighten this more than what I saw when I was there. Granted, of course, I visited back in August 2020 (and November is well underway), but I don’t know if procedures have changed or not amid the slew of rising cases. I implore mall management to take my advice, simply for the health of the mall environment.

And I implore my readers to please comply with the mask mandate. It will make me and others much more comfortable during our time at the amazing entertainment facility. Thanks for reading and considering my suggestions.

Worth a Visit, Even if You're not a Hard-core Shopper

By Doug S |

I'm not much of a brick-and-mortar shopper, but I enjoyed strolling around for a couple of hours. Variety of stores is staggering, and it's fun to people-watch tourists.

Kids enjoyed the amusement park rides.

There are a variety of places to eat, including food courts and standalone restaurants.

I recommend sitting occasionally on the benches distributed throughout the mall, to relax and take in the scene. There's a lot of audio and visual stimulation.

Also, the mall is somewhat rectangular, but it gets confusing with the amusement park rides in the center. Fortunately, they have information kiosks at all major walkway junctions. At the kiosks, you can locate your favorite store / amusement ride / parking garage / trolley location.

If you're a baseball fan, look for the chair posted on the wall, to commemorate Harmon Killebrew's mammoth HR. Then walk over to the Sponge Bob ride, and look on the floor for a plaque commemorating home plate in the old Metropolitan Stadium.

Great shopping experience

Shop till you drop dead! The mall is so darn big ! Loved the unusual brands like Alpaca Connection and Brets at the mall. The Lego store, The VR games, and the amusement park In the middle of the mall makes it more fun. There are many food options, I specifically loved and recommend the selections at the Culinary at North.

Amazing amusement park, aquarium and water ride! Also food court and great restaurants all throughout this massive mall. Great for kids and adults!
