Amazing view from the Ferry!

Nice

By Jasper |

Best view ever. Go check out the Staten Island ferry or any other ferry. Gives you great views. Also visit the Brooklyn boulevard.

Fantastic

By scottNismoRS |

The view of Manhattan can be seen for miles, coming from Newark Airport you can see the full skyline. it's breath taking, never gets old regardless of how many times you visit New York.

Love NY skyline

By Mik1984 |

Love NY Skyline. Great to see it in person for the first time, particularly the Empire State Building and the Chrysler.

Amazing views

By Flitz8-A foodie travels |

On a clear day the views of the New York skyline with the huge skyscrapers across are beautiful and seem unreal ,so amazing

Great views

By I W |

The best views we found were from Ellis island or Brooklyn, just south of the bridge. Get the ferry from Manhattan to Brooklyn and walk back via the bridge.

best seen from New Jersey side of the Hudson River

By Ddan7777 |

One of the most impressive sites of a trip to NYC is to see the City from a distance. I took the Lakeland Bus Company (New Jersey based) to and from the Port Authority Bus Terminal on 8th Avenue. On the return trip from New Jersey, before you go through the tunnel, you can see all the skyscrapers. Manhattan looks like a really crowded place to live!

New construction , pleasant stay

By Monica D |

It was located in heart of the city. Lot of tourist attractions nearby and it was accessible and connected to subway , buses to get around easily. Rooms nice. Pleasant stay.

Great Views From Any Angle

By Havana_Blast |

We did the Statue of Liberty boat trip which takes in the skyline as part of the one hour trip, we also went over to the Dumbo area in Brooklyn and took in the views from that side.

Got caught in a snow storm which was great fun, evening time was great when viewing from the Brooklyn side, great colours in the sky and reflections off the buildings.

Hudson river

By Aestro |

The tall buildings off the sea and Hudson is a classic sight. The view of these buildings, some peopl like and others do not. We are ok with views.

Lovely walk

By Lynn S |

Lovely walk along the sky line trees and plants are beautiful well worth a visit.
I’d suggest walking it all first and then retrace steps to shopping center.

Impressive view from the Staten Island Ferry

By Ellie K |

The Manhattan Skyline is a very impressive view and reminds me of when New York features in films and tv shows. It was great seeing this view for free from the Staten Island Ferry.

Tour on Circle Line Cruise

By Laura D |

Had a lovely experience on the Circle Line Cruise. Weather was spectacular, tour guide was delightful, views were fantastic.

go here now or never

By dee benny |

the Manhattan skyline is really good my only problem with it is that the empire state building seems like a misfit with all those glass building lower Manhattan skyline is way more better wtc looks awesome in the sunset

ferry ride to Dumbo

By Jolante 29 |

we took the New York Ferry (2,75$) from 34th to DUMBO, then walked back crossing Brooklyn Bridge... best!

Anniversary trip

By John |

This City and its people are amazing! My third trip to New York and won’t be my last. Late summer is great but still busy with tourists but February is also a good time if you can avoid the heavy snow. Plenty to see and do especially when using the subway to get about and a good pair of walking shoes or boots.
Highly recommend walking the Brooklyn Bridge to Dumbo to shop and eat and get the water taxi to Wall Street. New world centre visit is a must as the views are amazing. Started island ferry is free so use it to broaden your trip and book a mega us trip from Hudson yards for a day out in Philadelphia - review to follow!
Don’t talk about get booking and go.

a Must

By Jeff |

if you are a local or visitor you have to love our skyline born and raised and still love take a few minutes and gaze

Enjoyable

By Inspire587709 |

Just like in movies, posters, TV shows, the skyline is it. Free Staten Island Ferry ride at night is an experience. Or take NYC Ferry from Brooklyn Bridge Park (Dumbo) to Wall Street/Pier 11. Great views.

A Stunning Sight That Wows Everyone

By Avia H |

The Manhattan Skyline is a breathtaking view that keeps people amazed and inspired. With amazing buildings, colorful lights at night, and its important role in culture, it's a must-visit for anyone in New York City. This iconic skyline, showing off human achievement and the city's energy, is always a magical and lasting experience.

Beautiful no mater if day or night! Empire State building the best!
The Summit was specular and aa very different experience.

Can't get bored with it

By Yoga Prakasa |

Sightseeing to behold for architecture fans. The views from the islands or across the bridges are best.

Spectacular Views of Manhattan

By Iris C |

You have to be in Weehawken NJ to see it!
I was very blessed to have family members who took me there for the best views ever.

Uniquely New York

By gastronaut_11 |

You never tire of the view. Engrossing. We viewed it from the Ferry to Ellis Island and from a variety of other sites.

Best part of the trip

By Sharon Y |

Go to the Brooklyn Heights promenade for an amazing sunset, and stunning view of the skyline of NYC as the lights come on.
Lady Liberty in the harbor was and unexpected bonus pre and post sunset.

Overrated !

By Gamal_Mik |

Indeed it is interesting. In the evening, and looking from the opposite side (NJ) it looks really nice. However, if you are in Manhattan itself, there is nothing spectacular.
Meanwhile, many cities have developed skyscraper skyline and some - in my humble opinion - are nicer.

Stunning

By Alisha N |

The view is absolutely stunning, everyone has to visit once!!!
Its just like you see in the films!!!

Always amazing & inspiring

By StephenCross |

The Manhattan skyline is always something that strikes a cord. Viewed by day it is awesome and by night totally different and equally mesmerising.

Different from every angle...never disappoints...truly stunning architecture!!

By MidwestKathM |

On this visit to New York City, we took in the Manhattan skyline anywhere we could! We started in Brooklyn, first taking in the skyline from the highest point in Green-Wood Cemetery. Next we walked the Brooklyn Heights Promenade in the late afternoon at sunset and at night. A couple days later we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge in mid-afternoon on a sunny day. Even after we left the city, heading north along the Hudson, we enjoyed views of the skyline from the scenic lookout parks! The skyline never disappoints...different from every angle...with so many unique architectural styles...stunning!!

Really nice skyline.

By Deb & Jake |

There's not much to say about this one - it is a really nice skyline. We saw it from on a boat, which was interesting and unique.

best seen as sunset/dark from brooklyn bridge

By Sara H |

walk half way over brooklyn bridge to turn and get fab skyline pictures of manhattan. this is free unlike the observation decks on other buildings.

Sublime

By Ary P |

What a view! Provably one of the most evocative skilines of all times. This was worth of the whole trip, that was great!

Amazing

By Diane and Anthony |

The views were amazing. Took so many photographs. Neck aches from constantly looking up. Beautiful by night and great landscape views from the Brooklyn Bridge

Just look what could be better

By caroline r |

Saw this by boat also, worth a trip our guide was funny and informative. Boat was easy to board clean and spacious, it helped that the weather was good.

A sight to behold

By Donna Z |

Head over to Brooklyn to see the Manhattan skyline. I think all of us can appreciate it as it is so recognizable.

Iconic

By sam101645 |

The views from off the island and from upper floors in tall buildings along with walking the streets and looking up make
the Iconic Manhattan Skyline unique and magnificent.

New York City trip

By Jmhuskie |

Got lots of great views of this world famous skyline, from places like Liberty Island, Ellis Island, and my personal favorite view was at night from across the Hudson River in Jersey City.

Iconic

By GAR |

I think it could be argued that the Manhattan skyline is the most iconic skyline in the world. I would recommend going to the Statue of Liberty to see the skyline as a whole from a distance, and of course there are numerous observation decks in Manhattan itself

Saw it from the Staten Island Ferry

By Simply Sublime |

Amazing view of one of the best cities in the world. From the ferry you can see all of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Brooklyn Bridge and many other things. I went as part of a bus tour and the tour guide explained all the things we were seeing.

Always breathtaking...day or night

By love2quilt2 |

My husband and I flew into NYC during the past Christmas holidays to catch the RCMH Christmas Spectacular. We landed after dark and even thought I've flown in numerous times, it is always a beautiful sight to see.

Nothing Like it In all the World

By Thomas V |

Well there is nothing like this in all the world. An incredible collection of skyscrapers best seen from the harbor, which is what we did from our cruise ship. Lots of remarkable modern architecture, and there are also some boring buildings, but the huge collection of monoliths is so impressive. Nothing like it.

Beautiful spring day place to be

By erika |

A beautiful, relaxing, place to take in the waterfront and the statue of liberty. It was my favorite place to find time alone for myself and just be at peace.

Amazing

By Annabel Stevens |

A must see! Has to be seen to know how amazing it is. Lives up for your expectation, if not exceeds them!

The best in the world . . .

By LearningAdventures |

. . . and that's all I can say about that! The history of the modern world in a single skyline, ever fascinating & ever fun!

beautiful

By Matteo T |

incredible view. it looks like buildings can touch the sky. impressive how fast it changes even in a few years

A lot of new construction

By rainbirdmuse |

Several new super talks going up at Hudson Yards and near Central Park. Great time to see the skyline that never sleeps.

You can only see the Manhattan skyline if you're not in Manhattan!

By Leonard K |

A walk along the Brooklyn Bridge (from Brooklyn...) is a great way to see it...especially at sunset!

Upper Manhattan is such an obsessive place that when you come, you don't want to leave

By Ariana |

Stowe park, sunset glow, the railway bridge in 100 Early morning walk in the park a big bird like a beautiful girl ask our good morning Italian supermarket flatiron building one of the landmarks in New York New York's fifth avenue in the window The central station Fifth avenue in Manhattan Apple mobile phone store on fifth avenue St Patrick's cathedral on fifth avenue...

Good view from the east river ferry

By BarryandJackie |

Take the east river ferry for a nice panoramic view of Manhattan, or just walk the Brooklyn promenade.

Happy 4th

By Vibe C |

The pool is not included in the fee for the hotel across the minimum $60 and during some of the pool is very crowded and I’m not really children friendly

Very bad experience with the feeling of racial discrimination😡😡😡

By Derek C |

You don’t see what you were told you could see. As Chinese with bigger group, best spots in the helicopter were given to small group of white people arguing for weight reason, which didn’t make any sense as their weights were similar to ours individually. They should have splitted the best spots between the groups rather than just packing us at the back because we are Asian ?! 😡😡😡😡

中国人要小心上當😡😡😡

Iconic

By amarpuri90 |

One of the most iconic skylines in the world, especially with the new buildings on Grand Zero. It can be best experienced from the river so recommend taking the Staten Island ferry and stay on it for the return journey. The ferry is free of charge.

That moment you see it for the first time… wow

By Paul S |

It’s iconic and you feel familiar with it, even if you’ve never seen it in person. For first timers, that moment when you’re riding from the airport and the skyline comes into view… wow!

Our tour

By Ameeta P |

Great trip. A must see. A great tour guide Tom Schilkie. Thumbs up to the tour guide. We enjoyed the tour very much.

Wonderful view as always

By MariaWReston |

Take the Staten island Ferry. It's free and offers a great view of the Manhattan skyline and the statue of liberty.

Pro con advice on great views (from the ferry boats)

By I visited this place🇮🇹🇺🇸🇬🇧🇳🇱🇫🇷 |

PROS
* Great classic and epic scenery
* Best seen from the water on the Staten Island Ferry or the New York City Ferry or from Brooklyn or Statue of Liberty or New Jersey or maybe the Roosevelt Island Tramway
*. Also possible to see from any of the for observation decks

CONS
As stated exactly above- this is best or only seen from the water on the Staten Island Ferry or the New York City Ferry or from Brooklyn or Statue of Liberty or New Jersey or maybe the Roosevelt Island Tramway
* A view from an observation deck is limited because one doesn’t see the building that s/he is in.

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… when I ride both the Staten Island Ferry and the New York City Ferry. Both were great and I loved the views

WAS IT WORTH THE COST?
Yes

WOULD “I VISIT THIS PLACE” AGAIN?
For sure— I plan to lead a group to there in May or June

ADVICE from IVTP
See the view preferably from New York City Ferry but also possible from Staten Island Ferry

Wowsers

By Kavo85 |

Wowsers - even though I had seen many many pictures of the NYC skyline; seeing it in the flesh was something else.

We opted to take the Staten Island Ferry to catch a glimpse of downtown in the late afternoon as the sun dipped.

Amazing

By tinaNtravel |

The skyline is amazing. Many tall buildings of different shapes and heights. You can get a very nice view from walking the Brooklyn Bridge and probably from many other locations as well. The fact that is along the water, makes it all the more interesting.

The first impact

By Rita_G_64 |

Already at the moment of landing you get excited seeing the silhouette of the Big Apple from afar. I will have the chance to take more up close photos but in the meantime this first taste puts me in a good mood

NY NY what a town

By HungryJoeTokyo |

Loved it from the NewJersey side, the river , Ellis Island and from the statute of Liberty ---and the sun came out---glorious view

Great Views

By Dave S |

Enjoyed the skyline views from a boat tour on a Monday morning in June while traveling with the Mt. Pleasant Iowa High School music department students.

Gorgeous

By Aida |

I recommend seeing the skyline from different points: Empire State, Top of the rock, Brooklyn, Queen, East River Boat, Fifth rooftop Bar... Highly recommended day and night

Just like you see Manhattan in the movies

By chantal v |

Terrific view all the more as the meteorological conditions were optimal for appreciating it full...

Memorable

By R S |

Childhood memories come flooding in every time I peak out to our skyline, once nothing but now houses people from different backgrounds into one whole big family.

Continuous evolution

By angela0809 |

You go to New York and take pictures of the Manhattan skyline, you come back and the skyline has already changed. But the magic is the same and New York is in the heart forever.

Can't get enough of it!

By Liza Uleksina |

Manhattan skyline - see it once and it will make you want to come back or never leave. It will remind you of itself from other boroughs and make you want to visit NYC again.
I enjoyed the the view the most from the Brooklyn Bridge waterfront and also from water (boat/cruise) but can be viewed from further locations too. For example, skyline view with the biggest cemetery in NYC in front (if you are in Queens), etc.

go!

By Ilan M |

if you like to walk through some green areas, and you want some calm moments while in New York City, it is a good place to visit. Also, it connects to the Chelsea Market which is a must-visit in new york.

There is Nothing Like it!

By marc b |

In it such a treasure to live in NYC and get to see this skyline all the time. It does not matter where you go to see this breathtaking skyline. It always reminds me of how blessed I am to be a New Yorker

No place like it!

By Jane G |

The skyline of NYC is not as nice or iconic as it was in in 60s - 90s. I don’t like the new needles! See the main things - Grand Central Station, the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and Rockefeller Center. You will recognize a lot of places from the opening sequence of SNL.

Most impressive

By Miguel B |

The image we all want to take from the city, can be seen from many points perhaps the most representative from Brooklyn Bridge and from the statue also from a boat on the river
It's different day and night

Our Romance in the Heights

By Oshepa |

What a pass, guys! We, two lovebirds, went exploring the Manhattan skyline and it was crazy. The sidewalks were so crowded that we almost danced salsa to get around. The culture of Uptown left us feeling amazed, how elegant! And look at Grand Central Station, it looked like we were in a movie. The skyscrapers made us feel like ants, but ants very much in love. Between selfies and stolen kisses, we fall even more in love with the city that never sleeps. If you want an unforgettable date, the Manhattan skyline is your place. 10/10 experience, we would come back without thinking!

Eye Candy

By DipuKV |

The famed Manhattan skyline, visible as it comes into view when you drive to the city from the airport, or when you see it across the water from New Jersey or Staten Island Ferry, is sheer eye candy!

Iconic View which is a must.

By Steve H |

Took the ferry boat ride which although the weather wasn’t great gave us a great view of the skyline. Well worth the visit

Scenic Tour

By The travel guy 1990 |

Saw the Manhattan Skyline while on a tour guide and it was amazing! the structure of the buildings just outweighs anything on this planet

They don't call New York the concrete jungle for nothing. The view s of the skyscrapers are out of this world. No place like NYC!

The world's most iconic open-air shopping mall

By LutonMan |

NYC is always a delight to visit, and the approach to the City from any angle is always breathtaking for its iconic, and developing, architecture, but you get used to it, and then you attach yourself to a city that is always lively and a lot of fun

Lovely place to be

By belindamulh0lland |

Had a brilliant time thank you New York there’s not a bad month to go the only bad thing is it’s getting really expensive

Beautiful

By Kicco66 |

We did the evening walk and feet with panorama on the Skyline and then crossed the Brooklyn Bridge, it was magnificent, beautiful. A stop not to be missed, really exciting. The only drawback is the cold and windy. In winter you have to dress a lot.

It's an icon for a reason

By MichiganMom71 |

We viewed the skyline from the Staten Island Ferry and it was a fantastic view as we cruised to Staten Island.

Like no Other

By walid m |

A wonderful skyline that you cannot get bored of. There is always a place for a nice picture of this skyline.

Amazing

By DanielaFEB |

It's a view you can't get tired of it. I love the Manhattan skyline. It has something marvelous about it.

Breathtaking

By Sheri M |

Nothing can compare. New places to see too! Unbelievable the transformation. From the West Side highways new park to all the new Sky Scrapers scattered EVERYWHERE. Enjoy the wonder!

Never seen the likes

By Philip N |

Stunning, how did they create this a feet of engineering. You will not be able to understand the scale.

World's richest island

By Jeffry b |

Manhattan is the world's richest island. Manhattan is known world-wide for its skyscrapers. The island is America's center of commerce. To get an idea of just how densely built Manhattan Island is, you can view it from Ellis Island and imagine how new immigrants reacted when they first saw this great city. Among the best-known skyscrapers are the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building, an Art Deco masterpiece.

Iconic

By camemom |

There can be only one. Even after the Twin Towers, it always feels like home. Vibrant and iconic. At night the skyline is breathtaking.

Iconic New York View

By deepakgupta5 |

The New York skyline is easily the most famous view of skyscrapers in the world. There are other cities like HongKong which have an impressive view of skyscrapers but nothing beats the New York view.

Like nowhere else

By dese2 |

An excellent way to see the skyline is by ferry; public transportation. It is inexpensive and you can pick your route.
If you go to Long Island City you can see a lot of the impressive buildings across the water.
There is nothing like getting the city view day or night.

What a view!

By travelbiancat |

.Great for flying over, sailing around, looking over the river from a rooftop in Brooklyn, by sunset or at night...

Pretty

By Travel R |

Just like you see in all the movies. Best seen from the water. Is cruise ship or ferry. Pretty no matter the time of day in my opinion.

Manhattan Skyline

By reneelc2016 |

It was amazing the days we were there and esp from the Statue/Liberty Island. Plus, seeing all the buildings there was interesting.

New York City Sightseeing: Exploring the Big Apple's Iconic Attractions

New York City, often referred to as "The Big Apple," is a metropolis that needs no introduction. It's a city that boasts a captivating blend of culture, history, and modernity, making it a dream destination for travelers from around the world. When it comes to sightseeing, New York City offers an abundance of iconic attractions and experiences. Here's a glimpse of what you can explore in the city that never sleeps:

1. Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island: Start your sightseeing adventure with a visit to these symbols of freedom and hope. The Statue of Liberty, gifted to the United States by France, stands proudly in New York Harbor. Take a ferry to Liberty Island for an up-close look. Ellis Island, nearby, is where millions of immigrants were processed on their journey to America. The Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration offers fascinating insights into this history.

2. Times Square: Known as "The Crossroads of the World," Times Square is a vibrant, neon-lit hub that epitomizes the energy of New York City. It's home to Broadway theaters, shopping, restaurants, and some of the city's most famous billboards.

3. Central Park: Escape the urban hustle and bustle in the heart of Manhattan at Central Park. This sprawling oasis features lakes, walking trails, horse-drawn carriages, and cultural attractions like the Central Park Zoo and Strawberry Fields.

4. The Empire State Building: Ascend to the top of this iconic skyscraper for breathtaking panoramic views of the city. The Empire State Building's observation deck offers an unparalleled perspective on the city's skyline.

Amazing, of course

By Scott |

The Manhattan Skyline is the most amazing skyline on the planet. It's surreal, no matter how many times you see it. But what's equally as amazing is the reason the skyline is the way it is. Read up on the geology of Manhattan and you'll understand why there are tall buildings uptown and downtown, but not so many in the middle.

Manhattan walk

By Charlie |

Beautiful walk on a sunny day, sky, water and buildings altogether make for a great stroll. The way is also long so it's never repetitive!

Brooklyn’s Gateway

By stephanie T |

The best part about this attraction is that it’s free. If you’re willing to walk & can walk, the views are worth it. Go twice during the day & night. Vendors conveniently underneath the arches. Great photo spot

Amazing

By Aaryan_Agrawal |

Stunning experience. I viewed it from the liberty island from the Statue of Liberty. Stunning experience and even better at night.

Above the hustle and bustle

By jngear1019 |

This is just one of those rare opportunities in a city the size of New York to stroll casually above all the hustle and bustle of what's going on down in the streets. It is not a five-star wow attraction of New York but it is a strong 3 star piece of relaxation. The Re-Use of an old abandoned train track is typical of New York being creative, so slow down and enjoy the walk

Convenience everywhere

By LutonMan |

One of the world's greatest cities certainly lives up to its reputation; I lived on the 46th floor near the Hearst Building and round the corner from Central Park, able to grab a coffee anytime at the 24/7 cafe below, breakfast at the diner next door (on 8th Ave), and shop at Gristede's across the road.

So beautiful

By Dena R |

The embodiment of New York! As a first time tourist in the city, I was blown away by the views! Loved!

Stunning!!!

By no xoxoxxo |

amazing for photos and its just breathtaking!!! you get a great view of it on the ferry to ellis and liberty island!

Tall Buildings

By Jennifer S |

This makes for beautiful pictures. Best Manhattan Skyline pictures are from Staten Island Ferry and Liberty Island or Ellis Island.

Signature New York , Manhatten Skyline ( must see from ferry)

By JA |

If you are a fan of the classic big apple I recommend riding the free Staten Island Ferry back & forth at least once during the day and at night. The view of the skyline is amazing from the water and as you kick off up close the further you distance on the 20-minute trip the view reveals the skyline in the background. at different levels of depth. Amazing take pics and video! ( night also the lights are amazing against the black sky)

See this from a boat/ferry

By I visited this place🇮🇹🇺🇸🇬🇧🇳🇱🇫🇷 |

PROS
• Magnificent iconic and scenic
• Famous
• Impressive
• Exciting
• Remarkable and memorable

CONS
• Best- or only- seen from the water

“I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… on the NYC Ferry from Queens.

TIP
To see the skyline in its fullest grandeur, go on one of the ferries- inexpensive enough, and fun

Amazing views

By S. Goldmann |

Amazing. Best view from New Jersey side. Amazing also by night. You can get a nice view from the Staten Island ferry. New York is better outside than itside. Amazing views.

Not Many cities can match it

By Indah Edlightz |

Few cities can actually compete with New York for their Skyline. We had the opportunity to see Manhattan Skyline from 3 view points.. Top of the Rock, Met's stadium and from the Ferries. Each one a fantastic experience and great view.

How to remember Manhattan

Best views of Manhattan Skyline we have seen so far! And no crowds, our own relaxed pace and the best guide! Paolo gave us very interesting explanations of what we were seeing. Considering a second trip...

A Stunning Urban Escape

By Abigail R |

Manhattan Skyline offers breathtaking views of New York City's iconic landmarks, with spacious rooms and attentive service. A prime choice for those seeking a memorable urban getaway.

Beautiful and majestic.

By Jhon |

I’ve seen the skyline in movies and magazines. Nothing gives it justice when you see on a clear sunny day. Be prepared to be awed.

Manhattan's Glorious Skyline--Gorgeous from Every Angle.

By Julia Vitullo-Martin |

Come to Manhattan for the skyline and wander its lengths and parks to see the skyline from every angle. Also head to the Empire State Building and other supertalls to view the city.

Timeless and classic

By FascinatedTraveller |

Best appreciated (for free!) from the Staten Island Ferry, we always enjoy taking the time to appreciate the mesmerizing panorama offered by the skyline.

Don't miss the sunset.

By Livia |

the sunset is exactly aligned with Manhattan’s street grid. This amazing sunset was coined, “Manhattanhedge” by the astrophysicist and director of the Hayden Planetarium (at the Museum of Natural History),

AMAZING!!

By Charlotte B |

The Skyline is STUNNING! Lots of 1 star reviews said it looked better in the movies, but in my personal opinion I think it was better in person. I was in a Taxi at 2am NY time as we had just flown in, so typically it should have been pit h black, but instead there were so many bright vibrants lights and other was just amazing. It was an incredible way to be welcomed in to NY and was gorgeous.

Unique in the world

By Martina131102 |

The New York skyline is unique in the world. It makes you feel exciting both day and night, with the sun or cloudy skies. In my opinion one of the best vantage points for a wonderful overview is the ferry to Staten Island

Such a beautiful sight!

By Jen Travels |

I saw this from the ferry and Liberty and Ellis Islands, but I'm sure is gorgeous from any location.

I mean to actually see all the skyscrapers and the whole skyline, and especially on such a beautiful day, it was really incredible.

I can't wait till I can make it back and actually tour the city, see all the skyscrapers in person, and tour the different boroughs.

I can only imagine what it's like seeing this everyday, and I definitely recommend it.

Many Different Locations to Get That View

By therichastill |

I spent five days in New York City and got lots of opportunities to enjoy the Manhattan Skyline.

On the second day I was there I travelled to Brooklyn and walked down to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade. From here you can see the Southern end of Manhattan along with Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge.

NOTE, Check out Brooklyn Bridge at sunset for some more great views of the Manhattan Skyline and the East River.

I also travelled on the Staten Island Ferry to visit the island. This is free to use and when I visited in October 2023 there were ferries running every 30 minutes throughout the day and night. There was a higher frequency at peak times.

On my penultimate day there I went to Roosevelt Island via the cable car and from here you will get some great views of the skyline and the Queensboro Bridge.

There are many different locations to go to, unfortunately due to bad weather I did not get not see it from New Jersey but that would have been nice to experience.

Still Miss The Twin Trade Towers

By Mark G |

The New York City skyline is a sight to behold. Approaching the city from the south and west, I marvel at the beautiful shining Freedom Tower on lower Manhattan following it north to the Chrysler Building and the Empire State Building as well as all the other tall buildings that would stand out even more in most other city's. The view provides me with a feeling of patriotism and America's greatness and strength.

World famous skyline

By William G L Corlett |

Nothing beats the feeling of being in a taxi on your first visit then this magnificent view appears upon the horizon when traveling from the Airport to the City. Such a sight to see when your still over in Brooklyn side.
A world famous skyline. A skyline like no other. You will never get other how many buildings there are. A glamourous concrete jungle. The city is a must-do, at least once in a lifetime

The Iconic Skyline

By Thomas V |

Well it really is magnificent. We had a terrific view from the balcony of our cruise ship that was anchored in Brooklyn. We were looking straight at lower Manhattan. And then when we were headed to the airport, we saw the whole island from the East. Just fabulous.

Iconic skyline

By Krishna R |

The skyline is truly iconic and picture postcardesque! Probably best seen from a cruise in the harbour. Truly the image of new york

Beautiful!

By Daniel Purves |

I loved seeing the Skyline, especially due to the shape of the island it looks different form every angle! My recommendation is to take the ferry to Liberty Island for the best view of the skyline.

Fabulous Views

By TheLeongOhana |

Hop on the Staten Island Ferry and head to the rear to get the best seat on the boat to view this iconic skyline looking back at lower Manhattan.

To see eastern Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge board the NYC Ferry and climb up to the top for unobstructed views.

We got lucky both days with sunny days and perfect weather to enjoy. Next time we will come back to experience at night when its a little warmer!

Take the Ferry to see the Skyline

By bpm5515 |

You get the best views form the Statue of Liberty and Staten Island Ferry. Nothing like it anywhere else, never tire of it.

Amazing Skyline View

By Steve Armitage |

Manhattan skyline is always an amazing view in the daytime as well as night time. The best way to see the skyline is to be outside of Manhattan, such as in New Jersey where you can get a full view of it.

Beautiful!

By Adrienne W |

We saw the skyline while lying on a hill under the Brooklyn Bridge. It was amazing and would have been better at dark!

See it at night

By Lepha |

It's beautiful, especially front the water at night. We took a tour. It was cold, so I wouldn't go again when it's cold.

Breathtaking

You may have seen this hundred and one time thru Hollywood movies. But to see it with your own eye is totally different feeling. The look is unique.

It is relay something to see when the sky is clear that you find in summer month of July specially at night.

Simply Stunning

By Andy L |

I got a chance to see downtown Manhattan skyline during our boat trip to the Statue of Liberty. The skyline was amazing, albeit we saw it during the daytime. I'm sure that the view is even better at night.

A city so nice they rightly named it twice

Is there anything like it?

By JMagicfan |

Is there anything like it? From the water, or from the top of the Empire State Building, you see the majesty of the great city. I have never been in an environment like this. So many towers that seem to go forever.

Breathtaking

By ChicksWiggle |

This skyline is unparalleled elsewhere in the world. Suggest a boar tour or a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge towards Manhattan to take it all in.

Spectacular

By michTI |

If you go to New Jersey you have a spectacular view of the New York Sky Line.
An experience absolutely worth doing, perhaps crossing the canal with a Farry.

You get a thrill from the view

By Linda147 |

Manhattan is a city you never get tired of looking at. You can view it from many angles and you always have something new to look it. Try looking at it from New Jersey or a rooftop in Brooklyn!

I love the scenery from Brooklyn Bridge Park. Try to go by sunset. You can walk over the Brooklyn Bridge as well.

Stunning Skyline View

By 891cynthiaz |

Even someone who has never been to New York will recognize so many structures in the skyline just from watching movies and in magazines. It’s probably the most recognized skyline, but seeing photos doesn’t compare to seeing it in person.

amazing

By jon w |

Awe inspiring. Well worth traveling across the globe to see. Tip: take the F train (subway) to Roosevelt Island and walk through the river park to catch views like this.

Awe-inspiring cityscape!

By Rania George |

The Manhattan skyline is a view that truly takes your breath away. We took a ferry at dusk and watched as the city lights began to sparkle. It was an incredibly romantic and picturesque moment, a memory we'll cherish forever. An absolute must-see.

One of the most iconic skylines in the world.

By DutchPirate1 |

I have travelled the world, there is no other city like NYC. Other cities are quite nice but most have a central culture determined by its location. You can find any microcosm of any culture from anywhere in the world.

Nice views from the Staten Island Ferry

We're Chicagoans, so nothing beats the Chicago skyline, but the view of Manhattan from the Staten Island Ferry was beautiful.

Breathtaking!

By Daniel A |

Witnessing the Manhattan skyline is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many people. it is breathtaking and one needs to see it at least once in their lifetime, no matter at what time of the day - in the early morning, on sunrise, at high noon, on sunset, or in the evening - it is always spectacular!

The city of Scrapers

By DBP55 |

Just as impressive from the waterway ferry as from the sky in a plane or a high rise lookout point. A breathtaking sight indeed!

NYC Skyline iconic and sustainable

By Phill D |

I mean, it's the most iconic skyline in the world, right? I am a LEED AP which is an international organization that focuses on grading buildings based on their sustainability, so I kind of have a fascination with buildings, and I am happy to say that more LEED buildings are being added to NYC skyline every year.

We love to come here

We used to come to New York, it's a trendy city with many bars and many activities, every time we leave we dream of coming back

Where caffeine and sheer willpower become your best friends!

By Clara Cross |

This island is alive 24/7 with an eclectic nightlife scene that'll make anyone question their bedtime. We navigated the intricate subway system to discover amazing (and sometimes questionable) food from all over the world. Pro tip: never underestimate the power of a good slice of pizza at 3 AM. Just remember, if you can make it in Manhattan, you can make it anywhere – especially if you've had enough coffee.

It looked good only on movies

The skyline is not that great to see as compared to what you see on movies. Night time, it looks like most flats are emp6 as there are no lights all around.

EXPIRIENCE

By Marielle v Roessel |

During our stay in New York at Hotel the Gallivant Time Square, I booked an experience with Getyourgide 2 months in advance.

An incredible view of an incredible city

By MartinMJ22 |

We did this first thing in the morning just before we were going to back across the Brooklyn Bridge (from Brooklyn to Manhattan). Its such an amazing view, one of those things that is like an out of body experience seeing it. One of those things youve seen so many times on TV and then there it is. So many gorgeous photo opportunities, what a brilliant view.

The Big Apple Skyline.

By piyali s |

I can spend the whole day and night watching the Manhattan skyline and spotting iconic buildings. Who would have known that Manhattan was a wilderness till a few centuries ago. Wall Street gets its name from the Wall that the Dutch had built to protect their settlements from the native Indians and the English. Now the Wall sleeps below Wall Street.

unique experience

sure when anyone comes in New York must see this view. Unique experience, great to have some photos. Best view from Brooklyn bridge or from Staten ferry

Accommodating staff and fresh clean environment! Comfortable staying with family and friends. :) Also recommended visiting 230-Fifth Rooftop Bar; and indeed! It was a very amazing unforgettable experience!

Loved the Architecture

By Helen F |

NYC is a city like no other! Truly 24 hour public transit & ferries for commute or relaxation. I saw many diverse building designs. The people are in a bit of a rush all the time, but very open to conversation; was impressed by Hustle & Bustle of New York Residents! Young Children commuting to school alone in mass public transit with all Economic Classes, Crowded Most of the time but overall Respectful. Had some good laughs & free entertainment from local artist.

Best Skyline in the world!!

The NYC Skyline is the best in the world! There is truly nothing like seeing the NYC skyline for the first time. If you can see it on a perfectly blue sky day your pictures will be incredible!!

Full of Energy and Spectacular Sights

By Melvyn P |

The whole of New York is unique and it's great to experience the various districts. Each one has it's vibe. Use the subway from JFK and get out in Manhattan and your jaw will drop at the scale of the buildings

loved it more without the park avenue south towers going up

By Ritz1165 |

The skyline is impressive, but not as amazing as other cities, think Hong Kong, Singapore, but that is okay by me. Smaller scale works for me. The worst addition was the Mt. Sinai Hospital building sometime in the 70 or 80s. Literally mars the UES panorama.
In any case, walk around the reservoir for diferent angles.

A city with a view

By perrypickerign |

We loved the views on NYC. We saw the skyline from New Jersey, by boat on the water, from the Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty and from several of the tallest building in North America... We enjoyed seeing the city and being able to see great distances on sunny days and being above the clouds on cloudy and rainy days and how some of the buildins look like they came from Gotham city n Batman. The building and neighborhoods each had personalities of their own and their personalities and moods changed with the weather and with the daylight. I think the view was better at One World Trade Center than some of the other skyscrapers. Not just because its is taller but because it is more by itself and you can see more including great views of the Hudson and Statue of Liberty..

Breathtaking

By jackier1901 |

Wow, just wow.
I recommend getting a ferry to get a good pic. We got a circle line ferry and got some great shots

Beautiful skyline

By TRAVELLER Foodie ✈️ |

Spectacular Skyline from both the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty Island. It's super nice or from Long Island

Super nice to see the buildings with those heights and their silhouette over the rest of the city on the Hudson River.

best from hoboken

By Lia H |

I stain Hoboken and jersey city for a couple of weeks, and the one thing I did every day was watch the Manhattan skyline at sunrise, sunset, in the middle of the day... sometimes I brought a picnic and sat at one of the many green areas in Hoboken to be able to appreciate the views. Sunrise was about 5:30 am and not too exciting. sunsets were gorgeous even though I was facing east. Absolutely breathtaking!

Ironically the best places to view the skyline are in New Jersey

By Arthur M |

Both views of Lower Manhattan and Midtown Manhattan can be best viewed in New Jersey: Ellis Island, Liberty State Park, Exchange Place, and Newport for Lower Manhattan, and Weehawken for Midtown Manhattan.

Make sure to visit by sunset, the sunlight reflecting off the buildings are a beaut! Or visit during the sunrise to the sky has an orange hue when seeing Manhattan from New Jersey!

Enjoy!

Amazing site to see.

By Baseball Enby |

I check this off of my bucket list every single year!! I love summer in the city. It is one of my most favorite places to be.

Manhattan Skyline New York

By Jack M |

Impressive, whether you look at it during the day or at night it is definitely worth having a look at the Manhattan Skyline.

Incredible from any point of view

By Francis O |

The skyline is iconic, world known and impressive from any point of view. Nevertheless, one can only capture its full grandiosity after looking at it from a boat tour in the Hudson, a sky deck such as the One World Trade Center and walking around town in the middle of the buildings.

Great View from Greenpoint

By bonnie481 |

We enjoyed great views of the NYC skyline from the Greenpoint Market at the end of Noble Street. There was a vendor market and informal car show with private individuals showing off and discussing their cars. The NYC skyline was a great backdrop.

By Lenka |

If you like photography, this is a very nice location! go in the morning of afternoon for best light

Something special.

By Andrea P |

I could never have imagined something like this skyline. It is amazing and really unbelievable. You can see it from a long distance and enjoy its particular shapes and lights from high rooftop and terrace of different skyscrapers, or even see the buildings popping up when you leave the coast with a ferry. I think it is something we should see at least once in a lifetime.

If you can get past the smell of weed..... What a city!

By Claire F |

Weed is legal here. If you can get overcome the smell of it on most corners, what an amazing experience. We stayed for a week in midtown and got to see everything on our itinerary, and then some.

For food and drinks: Many local diners, including Ellen's Stardust. If you are an early bird, I highly recommend you go there for breakfast. There is no queue and a great way to start your day. Hardrock cafe, Dallas BBQ, and Black tap were our go-to restaurants. The shakes at Black tap 🤌

Most places you will pay in the region of 20-30$ pp. Alcohol can be expensive depending on your choice. Look at adding 8$+ per drink.

Sites: You have your 5 observation decks. I visited the vanderbilt summit after one of JFKs border guards recommended it. If you want an interactive experience and 360° views, it's worth a visit. If you can, get yourself a local tour guide. Martin was ours from the lower south side. He's now a tour guide at Grand Central Station (good luck at your new job!). We were given a whole new perspective and visited local sites not shown in a Google search.

You have your film locations, Ghostbusters, Home Alone, Godfather, sex in the city, just to name a few. All photographical for those extra memories. Not forgetting to mention the iconic sites. Central Park, Grand Central Station, Statue of Liberty, Broadway, Time Square, Empire State building, Wall Street Bull, etc.

We planned some days through an itinerary prior to heading over, I wouldn't plan everything, though, leave some days to explore, and you never know what or who you may see!

empire state building

By Sightseer654067 |

we had an excellent walk thru the museum and we had breath-taking views at the 80th and 86th observation decks

Iconic skyline - no questions!

By travelbag3011 |

Just to be here and wander around NYC constantly looking up at the sky high buildings is amazing. The skyline can be enjoyed from practically anywhere - Top of the Rock; Staten Island Ferry, the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire state building. You really can't but be gobsmacked by it all.

By Ben Lazo |

For the best skyline view, visit Hunters Point South Park, in Queens. The NYC ferry takes you there, or get the 7 train from Grand Central or Times Square. You can see every famous NYC skyscraper in one spot.

List of best FREE Manhattan viewpoints

By BrakiWorldTraveler |

In this review I wont bother you with skyscrapers top viewpoints as everybody knows they're great, but they're costing some 30-40 bucks per person.
I give you my list of totally FREE viewpoints from where you can enjoy the NYC skyline I managed to visit during my 3 visits over the years to this fabulous city.
Ranking is based on geographical position, NOT on the beauty of the view, starting from east, over south to western viewpoints.
1. Pepsi Cola sign - terrific midtown views
2. Gantry Plaza park - very similar, little bit south
3. Domino Park - views between midtown and downtown
4. Dumbo and Brooklyn bridge park - excellent lower Manhattan views
5. WALK over the Brooklyn bridge from Brooklyn towards Manhattan
6. Staten island ferry - excellent views of the southern Manhattan (same views as from Liberty statue ferry, but Staten island ferry is free),
7. Empty sky Memorial - great south Manhattan views from Jersey side
8. Maxwell Park on the Jersey side

Skyline of NYC

By Explorer_IM |

It is just awesome to look at Manhattan skyline. We saw it from Liberty island, we did see it from Drumbo, and you just are amazed more everytime about this skyline. I loved it and have become a fan of it.

One of the most iconic and captivating city skylines

By David N |

There is something so captivating about the Manhattan skyline from whatever angle you see it. We were lucky to see it from Top of the Rock in 360 degree views. We also saw it from several different locations as we cruised out of New York. It truly took our breath away

Not as big as on TV!

By Juan Toofree |

It was great but not what we expected. I love skylines as much as the next person but I was hoping that we were going to see it up close. Plus, it looks way smaller than when you see it on television. I understand that we have a big screen TV but still. I would love to know that architect that built this because I don't think they really thought it through. My wife and me had a good time but to be honest, liked it better when we saw it in the movie 'Lost in Seattle'.

Iconic and striking

By dustythoughts |

The Manhattan Skyline is one of those striking sights that requires your immediate attention, so matter what else you might be doing or for how long you've lived in the city. It's especially breathtaking at sunrise and sunset, when the buildings are bathed in sunlight. Whenever I took the busy to LaGuardia, we'd get an uninterrupted view of the skyline, and the entire bus would stop talking merely to take in the glorious views.

Breathtaking!

By LHE |

You have to see this at least once in your life. There is nothing like it! Do yourself a favor and go over to DUMBO and watch the sunset over this amazing skyline!

Amazing and Beautiful

By Ken P |

Beautiful, you need to visit the Rooftop Bar on 5th Avenue... It was pretty awesome. 230 Roof Top Bar...

Iconic

By Christy |

What an iconic view; just like in the movies! Unfortunately, we had a bad storm coming in that day, so it was fairly cloudy (although made for atmospheric photos!), but you can just stand and take it all in for ages; truly is something special to behold.

Great welcoming sight

as always impressive, though we still miss the two great towers. It stays a big hole for those who knew them before, as we did. In spite of the wonderful memorial setting.

Manhattan

By Jan W |

This picture of postcard, nobody can pass by, impossible to miss this point of view. we were lucky to have
a clear sky and I specify the ideal place: from the ferry to Staten Island and from the Brooklyn Bridge.

Worth seeing at dusk or dawn

By Michael L |

It is an iconic skyline with many well known buildings (depending on the direction of view). Extremely touristy thing to do (but it is always easier to appreciate view of a foreign city!). Good views from Brooklyn Bridge or across water (eg via boat). Would suggest seeing it at dawn/dusk or at night.

Great views on a sunny & clear day!

By N.N. Shah |

saw the skyline from a few vantage points; including Brooklyn Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Pier17 & Staten Island ferry. All of them were great & did not require any payment for admission!

Saw this from Roosevelt Island

By DawnW758 |

Popped over to Roosevelt Island on the cable car which was just $2.75 each way. It only took 4 mins to get there and we were able to have a lovely stroll to take pictures of Manhattan’s coastline. It was a very peaceful place. We sat in the sunshine and listened to the hubbub of manhattans busy street s whilst peacefully relaxing.

Magic in the Sky: The Beauty of Manhattan

By Diana F |

Manhattan skyline is not just a bunch of buildings. It's like a beautiful piece of art that shows what people can do when they work hard. It proves that people can bounce back from tough times, and it reflects the strong and determined attitude of the city that always encourages others. Whether you're a newcomer or someone who knows the city well, the special feeling you get from the Manhattan skyline is like a timeless magic that stays with you forever. It leaves a lasting mark on your heart, no matter who you are.

Yup, Those Are Buildings Alright

By SuperTed19 |

Iconic is a word that is used far too often, but this skyline is indeed worthy of that word (PIE (Pre-Influencer Era) use of the term, of course). Having said that, it's just a bunch of tall buildings crammed onto a peninsula.

Best skyline in USA

By lucycan |

Iconic skyline with so many famous buildings. I recommend you see this from the Brooklyn Bridge (walk FROM the Brooklyn side) or from a river cruise. Both are awesome.

Great to see again..... and again.... and again

By Ian M |

My second trip to New York and the skyline seen as the BA courtesy bus took us from the airport in New York to New Jersey - alas the flight landed in the wrong State! A good 90 minutes drive from one to another, and not what you want to do when you have just arrived in the country. The bus circled us around Manhattan and a most exciting view of the skyline. Also saw the skyline from the ferry trip to Staten Island and Ellis Island. Looks great also from the water.

While taking a boat tour from the harbor, I was amazed by the view of skyscrapers reaching into the sky. The proof is in the pudding :)

A beautiful sight

By LisaMNUSA |

We looked at the skyline while we were on the cruse to statue of liberty, while we were in Brooklyn bridge park, and Madison square park. The city looks beautiful, we took many pictures.

Amazing view from ferry

By Arlette J |

We took the ferry to Brooklyn Bridge. Fabulous blue sky, incredible views from the ferry. Super cold mind you, wrap up very well if the winter. We got some stunning photographs, great trip

To do in the evening by boat

By David_Fr95 |

Very nice to do in the evening, we took the Circle line cruise leaving at 7 p.m. going around Manhattan with an extended stop near the Statue of Liberty on the way back

Amazing

Amazing as a world class city like London. Paris, and Rome.

The skyline is incredible. Always new skyscraper being built.

The magical view of NY

By Anne-Sophie |

We have a beautiful view of the NY skyline from the island where the Statue of Liberty is located! Go there preferably in the morning (fewer people for photos) and under the sun.

Seen from Red Hook, Gorgeous

By Thomas V |

Hey we saw the skyline from the Queen Mary, docked at Red Hook in Brooklyn! How cool is that? It was gorgeous on a clear sunny winter day. And we saw it from many other perspectives as well. Always a man-made joy, the greatest city in the world.

Billionaire's Square

By Hermes_M |

Very amazing view from the top of the edge, I recommend going there once the day is clear since the view is mesmerizing

Unmistakable profile

By 𝐴𝑛𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑜 𝐷'𝐴𝑔𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑜 🇮🇹 |

From historic skyscrapers to the most modern ones, from the tallest ones to those with the most daring architecture, all the buildings contribute to making it one of the most beautiful skylines in the world. It can be admired from the terraces of some famous skyscrapers, or from various panoramic points of the city including, just to name a few, Brooklyn Bridge Park, Gantry Plaza State Park and the splendid view from Liberty Island.

An stunning view every time

By Torben V |

What a view. Top spots are Hoboken New Jersey by night, or from Brooklyn close to the brooklyn bridge. Just a hint, the staten island ferrys are for free and passing the statue of liberty quite close ;)

Iconic

By Bowmanator22 |

Iconic buildings, wonderful from every angle. So far my favorite view was from the Manhattan Bridge walkway, but it’s incredible from almost everywhere.

Amazing sight.

By Andrés Blanco |

One of the best spots to see the Manhattan Skyline is Liberty Park in New Jersey. You can take a walk there to enjoy the views or just take a seat and wait for the sunset. You will see how the city lights up which is a very pleasant show to watch.

NYC Manhattan skyline is wonderful. Highly recommend you view it from the water if possible. Tak a cruise or a trip to Lady Liberty.

Nice view !

The view of the Manhattan skyline from the boat on the way back from the Statue of Liberty is absolutely mesmerizing. The shimmering lights and towering skyscrapers paint a magical picture, showcasing the stunning beauty of New York City.

Amazing

By Melissa M |

One of the best skylines in America! Worth taking a ferry or going to the top of the Empire State Building for a better view.

Beautiful view

By cp_0010 |

Manhattan skyline is famous for its towering skyscrappers which can be seen from many places. We had visited the Statue of Liberty and from the cruise and island, you can get a very good view of lower Manhattan. We didn't do the helicopter ride over the city instead viewed it from the cruise and island which itself provided a very beautiful view.

Simply an understanding skyline!

By Luke Hume |

Having been lucky enough to seen the skyline at both night and during the day a numerous of times during my NYC trip, it is one of my favourite ever sights.

A number of great viewing points are from the Circle Line Cruise (at night is better, all lit up!) or from the High Line

How can you beat this?

By Simply Sublime |

New York is one of the greatest cities every built and the skyline proves it. From almost any angle, this place takes my breath away. I'm so proud to be human when I see something like this.

Breathtaking

By skychaserCalgary |

The best way to see this is to take a 2.5 cruise around the island…we did with Circle Tours….excellent tour….

One of the best skylines in the world.

By Travelandexplore |

Having travelled much of the world, this is still to me one of the most stunning skylines in the world. Day or night. At night, the skyline is sexy, cosy and romantic. In the day, you can really take in the architecture. Best viewed for me by doing a boat ride.

BEAUTIFUL

By Samantha J |

Such beautiful views unlike any other city. Even the city looks full of skyscrapers when I was flying in. Definitely beautiful and memorable.

Spetacular view

By Lucas V |

Manhattan Skyline is a must go every time you're in New York City. Every angle is breathtaking. Worth it

Obligatory walk

By jorgeh |

Very pleasant walk, you can rest from time to time, get off and on, lots of vegetation and views of the city. Points of interest and visits such as Chelsea market.

Home Sweet Home

By leoaepstein |

Never ask a true New Yorker (you can tell if we are true if we say Manhattan and not the City).
You will never see a more incredible skyline than NYC. And, with more of the buildings become glass covered OMG. Please go and see for yourself

Wow. What a beautiful view. It's never boring.

By Karrempje |

Wow wow wow. What a beautiful view. During the day and in the evening. It's not boring. We liked the view best from the water.

“Wonderful Experience”

the best place ever I visit in my life, everyone should visit here and enjoy their journey or trip. Good luck!!

Awe Inspiring

By Gafilpoo |

The view of the New York skyline from NJ and Ellis Island is impressive. Interesting to imagine what new immigrants in the early part of the century must have thought. Suggest the view from NJ, and avoiding the traffic in Manhattan itself.

100%

By matsy c |

Best way to see the real New York, amazing views and architecture with the history. Not one to be missed!!

Stunning views

By Krishnan R |

Stunning views from the Empire State Building and if you are staying in hotel with these views. Everyone should visit at least once.

SKYLINE! The Top atraction in MANHATTAN!

By Marito |

The first time that I walked by the Skyline I had the plenty sensation of being in a Special Paradise. Please, do it. And, if it´s possible to You, choose a sunny day, with a good sky to do the ride!

NYC is amazing!!!!

By Kolitha B |

The skyline is stunning just absolutely stunning. It really strikes you what a great, amazing, big, beautiful city NYC is.

Never gets old

By Brittany_11_10 |

Never gets old. Have visited NYC a few times, and the skyline is always a delight to see. Kind of weird that it's on TripAdvisor, because you can't really go to NYC without seeing it, but anyway, here we are.

Especially nice to see from the water/a ferry ride.

Gorgeous view

By Deb W |

The skyline is Iconic. Any chance to see the city from a distance is well worth the effort. Just a beautiful sight.

What a Beauty!

By kenishiahughes |

Defiantly must see in person. I was in awe with I seen the skyline. Make sure you take lots of pictures!

Striking Skyscrapers

By Irina |

Always fascinating, Manhattan Skyline has that powerful magnetism of a large, modern city architecture, rising up to the skies. That feeling usually doesn't depend on the weather -- the skyscrapers and high-rises just look more colorful in the sunshine, and darker on the overcast days.

Regardless, they dominate the cityscape and stand out, symbolizing if you will, a strong character of New York City in general, and its fabulous Manhattan area, in particular. Even at a distance of dozens of miles, I could still see some famous historic sites - city landmarks, business and residential high-rises.

Fantastic images, strong impressions, long-living memories.

Beautiful weather for hot weather

By Steffy Angela |

This is a beautiful weather for the heat wave time because it’s so cool to have some walk time, no doubt it’s a place for the hot weather

Best viewed from Dumbo

By Kimmen1 |

Go over the Brooklyn Bridge to have the very best views of the Manhattan Skyline. There you may take a boat back.

SPECTACULAR FROM WHEREVER YOU LOOK

By Felix S |

The Manhattan Skyline is spectacular wherever you see it. We saw it from two points, the shuttle to Staten Island Gerry and a little further from the bridge to the entrance to Quenns.

Skyline from Rockefeller center

By Sharene1959 |

The views from Rockefeller center were fantastic in any direction and well worth the ticketed price.

Well...

By Turtle5954 |

...what can you say? Still the classic skyscraper city unmatched anywhere else. Try and get up high to get a fabulous view of the city that never sleeps

Beautiful

By WorldTravelerCO |

Gorgeous skyline, loved seeing it from the water. December is a very busy time to visit the city, will be happy to visit again in a less busy month.

NY Manhattan Skyline

By abonilla18 |

Best skyline of all. You must look at it from the Brooklyn Side for the best view and photo ops. A must do!
