Our tour if Pineapple Farm and facility provided by Kennedy was fun and very informative. Definitely worth doing if in Maui. Kennedy knows everything about pineapples and is very friendly and professional on tour. We also received a fresh pineapple at end of tour which was delicious.

We love it. It was very informative. We learn about pineapple. It's a fun outdoor activity. The pineapple tasting are delicious.

Kennedy was our tour guide. She shared so much information about the farm and growing pineapples. Who knew? 2 years to grow a pineapple! We got to taste pineapples just picked. We have never had a pineapple this sweet. We each received a pineapple at the end of the tour and thoroughly enjoyed two of them during the rest of our Maui trip. The third one made it home with us in our carryon!

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Brian (our guide) was funny and informative. The pineapple was delicious. We truly hope this farm thrives and will be gifting our friends and family with Maui Gold Pineapples for Christmas this year! So happy to support this farm and the community!

If you are considering this tour, based on our personal experience, PLEASE read the negative reviews first. We were on a Carnival cruise and took this tour. The description of the tour (in the cruise ship book) showed you will journey through the sprawling pineapple fields observing the harvesting, packing and shipping processes. Taste the various stages of the Maui Gold pineapple while learning the history and fascinating facts of this iconic fruit.
The actual tour wasn't as described. As some others say, it was one of the managers (or founders) that did the tour. We rode thru the fields showing the different stages of the growing process, cut a pineapple giving each a piece for tasting and then back to the gift shop. The plant where we were supposed to be "observing the harvesting, packing and shipping processes" was closed. He said due to tour being on Saturday it was closed. Their tour description shows "Best of all, you get a FREE PINEAPPLE with every tour!" No one in our group received the free pineapple because, according to the tour guide, the cruise ship would not allow us to bring it onboard. That also was incorrect - Carnival does allow you to bring it onboard. Carnival refused to do anything about the misrepresentation - another $359.98 life lesson while cruising.

Definitely worth seeing the plantation and hearing the history. Kennedy was our guide for the hour and a half journey. Fascinating about how pineapples grow and what it takes to harvest them. No problem to park and they have plenty of goodies for purchase. You get to take home a pineapple. A very nice drive to a very nice area.

I really enjoyed this tour! From seeing the tiniest of the plants to the mature ones in the field as well as the processing area was so educational. Our guide, Shiloh, was friendly and very informative, giving us many fun facts. The only downside was that he talked pretty fast, making him a little hard to understand and used "guys" way too often. I appreciated the helpful hint he gave us about taking a picture of the top of the pineapple flower... that's one of my favorite pictures from the tour! Getting to bring a pineapple home, all boxed and ready for air transport was nice. Pineapple is my favorite fruit and I work in hospitality (pineapple is the symbol of hospitality), so this was defintely a must on my to-do list!

We booked our 9:30 tour a few weeks prior to our arrival on Maui. We checked in at their bright, airy and spotless store. Our tour guide was so knowledgeable but what made this tour amazing was her connection and love for the farming of Maui Gold pineapples. We loved tasting the pineapple and seeing all the stages of production. Being given 2 pineapples in a TSA approved box was a sweet bonus.

We had a lot of fun on this tour with my kids. Our tour guide was great. And the pineapples were delicious. Got some really cool photos too. Highly recommend.

I did not expect this tour to be so interesting. Honestly, I would recommend it to anyone. Not too long but lots of great information. Now I want to try to grow a pineapple!

The tour bus was small. The tour guides were very good. The food at the breakfast restaurant was cold and not good. I would have preferred a trip to top of National Park and back

Kennedy was our tour guide. She was both informative and entertaining. I highly recommend this tour. The scenery is amazing.

It was a fun experience. We even got a pineapple each to take with us. However, the tour was a bit pricey at close to $100 per person. The experience was not worth the price in my opinion.

We visited the Maui Pineapple farm for a tour. It really exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Kennedy was amazing. Her knowledge of pineapples was exceptional. The pineapples themselves tasted spectacular. They were the best pineapples we have ever tasted. And we got to take home 2 of them as part of the tour.

Maui Pineapple Tour was excellent!! Family friendly, and really, great for all ages. They were very well organized, friendly, had clean restrooms available, a refrigerator stocked with already cut pineapple in containers, drinks, and a sitting area. And a shop if you’re interested, open air. The tour guides( there were 2 large van-sized buses with guide). Our guide was entertaining & fun. Not sure about the other one. Very informative!!! Learned all about the lifecycle of pineapples, the history, etc…. Afterwards, try to plan on having a meal at the restaurant across the street(it’s obviously the only one), bc the food is fabulous!! A great day!!

Very informative tour. Kennedy did a great job of teaching us all about pineapples. Had some very fresh pineapple samples, picked from the plant. I'm a believer that Maui Gold is the best. Thankful for the pineapples given to us, packed and ready to take on the plane ride home.

This tour was hands-down one of the most memorable experiences of our trip, thanks to our fantastic guide, Shylo. He was not only incredibly knowledgeable but also hilarious and engaging, making the whole group feel like part of the pineapple family.

One unforgettable moment was when Shylo whipped out a machete that could only be described as “the size of a small surfboard.” We were signing the waiver probably because we were standing close to this very sharp object—he masterfully sliced up the freshest pineapple we’ve ever tasted. It was like watching a live-action Ninjas in a pineapples war.

The fresh pineapple straight from the field was an absolute revelation—sweet, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Shylo’s stories about pineapple harvesting and the health benefits of this magical fruit made the experience even richer.

It was a perfect day under the sun, surrounded by beautiful scenery, delicious fruit, and plenty of laughs. If you’re visiting, don’t miss this tour. Just remember to stand back when Shylo’s wielding that machete!

Great tour! Learned the history of pineapples in Hawaii and saw the many stages of growth. Distillery, glass blowing and gallery, and restaurant are also on site.

Our driver and guide was Rudy and he was outstanding! He gave us the “ins & outs” on running the pineapple farm along with many tips on growing and enjoying delicious Maui pineapples! Definitely a must do for visitors!

We booked privately and it was a great experience. They take you out in the field and show you the various stages of a pineapple growing. They even showed us how to take photos to show how beautiful a growing pineapple is. We got to taste a lot of pineapples and got one each to take with us. My mom who uses a walker could not take it with her, however she brought a collapsable stool that worked for her in the field. I would highly recommend this tour.

The tour was priced and underwhelming. Seeing the farm from a bus is impersonable. Although we got off the bus twice during the tour, we weren’t able to roam very far to take pictures.

Bryan (with a "Y" as he frequently reminded us!) was our tour guide and gave an excellent overview of the pineapple growing and processing procedure. He was a great guide with an abundance of humor added in. We fully enjoyed the farm tour and tasting. Our only disappointment was that after a detailed description of how to chose a pineapple of appropriate ripeness, we were given our box of two pineapples to take home (and potentially travel with), and when we opened the box the following morning both were way over ripe. We unfortunately did not open the box at the store, and trusted that the pineapples would be of good quality. One wonders if the over ripe ones are the ones given away as gifts to the tour participants? Or just our bad luck? Otherwise it was a great experience!

We just took the Maui Pineapple tour on June 19, 2024. Shiloh was our tour guide. Apologies if I misspelled his name. Anyhoo, the tour was beautiful, informative, and our Shiloh was witty and funny. I bow down to the generations that have kept this tradition alive. Following this was the distillery. We left with a bottle of their blended whiskey: very smooth taste. Thanks for the memories. Highly recommend

This was a really informative and fun tour. Our Guide was great and had wonderful knowledge of the pineapple farm and industry! It was interesting going out into the fields of this working farm. We definitely recommend this tour for all ages!

Our guide was amazing! The pineapple is the best we’ve ever had. We learned the history of pineapple farming and have a newfound respect for all the hand farming that is completed for our delicious fruit. We learned that there is a flavor profile of pineapples and some have coconut undertones! We each received a pineapple and can’t wait to eat them when we get home.

We had such a fun time exploring the last remaining pineapple farm on Maui. Our amazing guide, Kennedy, struck the perfect balance between the sharing the history of pineapple farming in Maui, current farming practices, and the future outlook for the farm. The highlight of the tour was definitely getting to taste the Maui Gold pineapple in the field. 10/10 would recommend this tour for families. (Our 15 yo stayed engaged the entire tour, and even answered some of the trivia questions near the end of the tour!)

Very interesting tour. First you went into the warehouse and learn all the growing of pineapples. Next you go into the fields and see pineapples growing at all different stages. You get taste them in the field and each person on the tour gets to take one home. They can get through the agricultural screening in the airport so you can take them home.

We loved every minute of this tour! The staff were so friendly, and the General Manager that guided our tour was extremely knowledgeable and answered many questions. We learned so much about the pineapple industry and about pineapples in general. There is also a glass-blowing business behind where you check in with stunning, unique pieces of blown glass sculptures. After the tour, we walked across the street and had lunch at the restaurant there. Very pricey but food did not disappoint! Highly recommend this tour!

Our guide, Trevor, was funny and informative. We came away with lots of great information about pineapples and farming them. We recommend Trevor and the tour; a great use of time on Maui!

A true Hawaiian story, wonderfully told by our guide Kennedy and her colleague Brian. We saw all stages of pineapple growth, from planting to picking. Had lots of pineapple to eat in the field and were each given a boxed pineapple at the end of the tour. Very informative; a story of a changing Maui.

Honestly, for the cost, skip the tour and purchase a pineapple. With the abundant options of things to do in Maui, this one simply is not worth the cost. You’ll spend most of the tour in a small bus with a few short stops and a quick pineapple tasting at the end. Kids became quickly bored as did the adults.

Informative and interesting to hear the history and also about the changes in the pineapple farming industry. The store is attractive located in a historic building from the plantation days. A bit hot and sunny in the fields but the flowers and plants were gorgeous. It would have been fun to see equipment operating. Great tasting pineapple. We enjoyed sharing ours with family upon our return. It's nice that they take photos of you and send them quickly to your email.

We were able to enjoy our token pineapples while there in spite of a shortage given some colder temperatures the year before!

This tour of the pineapple farm added to our Maui vacation experience in a great way. Guide Brian was informative and fun and we left with a new appreciation for the manual effort that goes into growing and harvesting pineapples. The packaging line wasn't running the day we toured which would have been a bonus to see. The fresh pineapple was a great treat for friends back in the Midwest!

We learned so much! I love pineapple and now have an understanding of what it takes and what a pineapple SHOULD taste like! Garrett was our tour guide and gave us excellent information in a way we could all understand. Very interesting! We had 2 pineapples to taste- one greenish and one gold. You won't believe which was the better tasting. Free pineapple at the end of the tour, but not for us because the cruise ship did not allow. Would recommend for adults.

We did the Maui Pineapple Tour yesterday, and it was way more interesting than I expected! The highlight was tasting green vs. yellow pineapples right in the fields — you can really taste the difference once you know what to look for. We also learned how to tell when a pineapple is perfectly ripe. Our tour guide, Brian (with an “I”), was super knowledgeable and made the whole experience even better.

The tour includes a few stairs but is otherwise easy to manage. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves pineapple or just wants a fun, delicious outing while learning something new about the island’s agriculture.

Didn’t realize how delicious fresh pineapple can be. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about not only pineapple but could recommend other places to go on Maui. We left with our own pineapple. Couldn’t wait to go back to our BnB to try it. Didn’t disappoint.

This was a wonderful experience. My husband and our two friends took an Uber from our cruise ship dock to the farm. The tour took about an hour and a half our tour guide was friendly and very funny. It was interesting to be able to go directly into the field and learn how to plant pineapples And how to harvest them. We learned it was a labor intensive business. We ate a pineapple fresh from the fields, a Maui gold pineapple, so sweet and juicy. At the end, we shopped in the farms gift store and were able to buy beautiful unique gifts that were made on the island of Maui. It was a beautiful enriching experience.

Never knew there was so much to learn about growing pineapples. The best was getting to taste one, which was the best we ever had.

Started out with a very informative tour of a functioning pineapple farm that explains why their pineapples are so good. The tour guide was very knowledgeable which is probably a result of his more then 30 working there. At the following meal I had the Koran braised rib which was VERY good. My wife had the macadamia nut crusted fish. The meal was great other then under seasoned and over cooked.

Unfortunately our tour was cancelled due to weather but we were able to go by the store and get some fresh pineapple. Our money was refunded to us and even though we were unable to take the tour, we were still each given a pineapple. Top notch customer service.

We brought my Lady's Parents with us on this wonderful Tour. We all Love Pineapples and Chilled Pineapple Slices served in an Oversized Ice Cream Cone, Yummy..

This tour was very informative about how pineapple growing Stages and how long it takes for them to ripen. Our tour guide was funny, nice and wanted us to know about the Hawaiian culture. I really enjoyed the tour and receiving a fresh pineapple was awesome. I recommend this tour!!!!

From the time I was a child if Hawaii was mentioned I always thought about pineapples. Yesterday we toured the Maui Gold Farm and factory. Kennedy was our guide. She gave us more information about pineapples than I ever thought possible. They are more delicate and intricate to grow and it takes a specialized skill to plant and harvest them. We had pineapple right in the field as they were working. Delicious!! We highly recommend doing this unique tour.

Wonderful pineapple farm tour! This tour lasted about 1 1/2 hours and Brian was our very knowledgeable guide. We started at the pineapple processing facility where we learned a lot about pineapples, as well as how they are processed. Then we got in the tour bus for about an hour drive in the fields, stopping several times for us to get out and touch and eat fresh picked pineapples. The whole time Brian kept up a running commentary. Then we ended the tour with a stop at the store to shop and get our free pineapple included in the price of the tour. The best pineapple plantation tour, more fun and comprehensive than the tour on Oahu. One caveat for disabled clients: the tour bus has 4 steep steps to board but there is a hand rail.

We had a great time on our pineapple tour. We learned so much from our great tour guide, Brian. The Maui Gold pineapple was so sweet and delicious. The countryside is beautiful. Well worth the 90 minute tour.

This was a cool experience, the guide, was passionate and knowledgeable. We went on a Saturday afternoon so we didn’t get to see anyone working on the farm which was too bad. It was pretty expensive so I thought we would get to eat as much pineapple as we wanted, so I was disappointed that we only got a couple of bites each. Honestly, I could have eaten 1/2 a pineapple (or more!). It was a good activity for a family kids and grandparents, and I learned a lot, so overall, it was worthwhile.

It was a nice tour. For the price I thought it would be a bit longer or more involved. You see the processing plant, the fields, and get to step out of the van a couple times in the fields and taste the pineapple. It’s informative and interesting. It’s a sad story to listen to about small farms these days compared to overseas cheap labor. My two teens and even my husband thought I was goofy for booking the tour but since it had so many great reviews I thought it might be fun. They ended up enjoying themselves - especially sampling the pineapple and my one son won the core of the pineapple with trivia questions. They were also excited to get our four pineapples! We were getting back on the cruise ship with them, so they ended up being a bit of a hassle trying to figure out what to do with them. Overall an interesting tour- not positive I would recommend it again though. We got a great recommendation from our tour guide for a local lunch place though.

This was a really fun and informative tour! The views were amazing and being able to stand in the fields and see first hand how pineapple is grown and harvested was interesting. Getting to sample these sweet pineapple gems was the ultimate highlight! Highly recommend this for all ages!

This tour was really cool! We learned about the Maui Gold pineapple and how it is grown and processed. We were able to go out into the pineapple fields and see the various plants in their growth stages and to sample fresh pineapple. The tourguide was informative and friendly. The setting was really beautiful and it was a nice way to spend about 90 minutes of our time in Maui. Would recommend.

Aloha, went on the Maui Pineapple Tour last week, my friend and I had a blast. Bryan our tour guide was not only very knowledge about the pineapples and farm. But he had jokes, 3 for 1 (Tour, jokes and pineapple samples). He even explains how to pick a pineapple and how to plant and grow them. Took a pineapple home it was packaged ready to go on the plane with me. I do recommend you wear your sunscreen and a hat and possible bring a personal fan. It was a little hot that day but thank God for the breeze. Please tip your tour guide, peeps worth it!

The pineapple tour is a MUST DO when in Maui!! Our tour guide was so informative and gave us so much information about pineapples that we never would’ve known! Turns out we never knew how to pick a proper pineapple and this is another thing that we learned on this tour! We went through miles and miles of pineapple plants and saw them from when they first flower all the way to full grown, then he cut three fresh pineapples and gave us all samples out in the fields as well! Then he took us to where they process them and get the pineapples ready for shipping. Everyone goes home with a fresh pineapple, all packaged up and ready to take on the plane in a TSA approved box. Right inside of the building where you go on the pineapple tour is also a distillery that takes you on a tour and does samplings of their spirits as well. It is a bargain for what we got. This is a separate business and a separate admission price so you have to book them separately if you want to do both.

We loved our trip! Our tour guide (lady with long dark hair-I’ve lost her name!) was so informative and had such a personal connection to the farm. The pineapple was delicious and we learned so much! Great tour that I would do again and recommend 100% very accessible to all, take a jacket; better for older kids.

Fantastic tour from initial planting through the production and shipping process. learned so much about pineapples and their relevance to Hawaiian history and today. Loved having the samples right in the field and better yet, we are enjoying the pineapples we received that day a week after our cruise!

Our tour guide, Kennedy, was so knowledgeable about the history & workings of the pineapple farm. Once we got out to some of the fields, we were able to get out for photos of various stages of pineapple development. She expertly cut the pineapple for us to sample- both the top & bottom parts ( different sugar content!). Upon leaving we were taken to the processing plant where we got airplane ready box of Maui Gold pineapples to take home!

Our tour was so much fun and very informative. Rudy has been in the pineapple business for a very long time and gave tons of information from planting, testing, harvesting, packing/shipping, etc Maui Gold pineapple is the best you will ever taste and to taste it mere seconds after being picked is a truly unique experience. We will return!

Great tour, very informative and I really appreciate the pineapple even more now! Kennedy was fully of knowledge and so passionate about the pineapples and Maui Gold as a company and family.
After hearing about all of the hard work and challenges that Maui Gold has faced I just have so much gratitude and respect for this farm.
We got 6 pineapples for our family and we have already finished 4 of them. They taste amazing, sweet and fresh and I am even eating the core now that I know all of the benefits that come with it.

The pineapple was delicious! We learned so much and our tour guide was very informative. Eating fresh pineapple in a pineapple field is a once in a lifetime experience. Don’t miss out! We also went on the distillery tour and David was an amazing guide. He taught us all about the process for making vodka, gin, and rum. We even got to eat at the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious. Best pineapple upside down cake I’ve ever had!

Cassidy was a great tour guide. She was very energetic and well spoken. We learned a lot about pineapples from the tour, tasted some pineapple and got to take some home. It was a very fun 1.5 hours.

Our tour guide was great. He had great information and made the tour fun. He had first hand knowledge of the process and explained everything. We enjoyed seeing the plants in many stages and the best part was tasting the pineapple! It was so much better than what we get in the store!! We had an excellent dinner after the tour!

The tour and tour guide was awesome! The customer service person on phone could have been a little more informative and accommodating. The boat was late in getting us off. Even though I thought I built in enough extra time when we finally got driving in rental car the GPS said we'd get to farm 11:51am we had reservatoon at 11:45. We called contact phone number and they said, we have :05 grace period and lead us to believe that they immediately left at 11:50 she suggested we add protection plan on tickets for 15% of cost $59 which would let us cancel and get tickets refunded. We decided to pay for protection, but prior it would have been nice to know the tour started near office via walking and didn't leave in bus till 12:06. We felt ripped off/mislead.

Very informative tour. Our guide (red headed young man) did a great and thorough job explaining the pineapple growth process from planting to shipping. The sample was delicious. Sad to learn Maui Gold ships only directly to home and not to supermarkets. Thank you!

So you think you know pineapples? I have been buying Maui Gold pineapples for years and finally my beautiful bride and I got to visit their home. Everything about this berry is unique. Its sweetness is unmatched. We learned how to select the best pineapple, how the colors don't matter and even got to enjoy the joy of eating several right in the field where they are grown. It was an amazing experience all the way around, plus we got to bring home a couple for our own enjoyment.

The tour was excellent. Our guide was very informative and was able to answer everyone’s questions. Enjoyed going into the pineapple fields, learned a lot about how pineapples are grown and processed.

I am terrible with names so I cannot remember our tour guide’s name but I absolutely loved our tour and so did all the kids in it. She was very informative and patient. We also had a run in with missing our first tour but the women at the front desk were so kind, understanding, and informative. They helped us reschedule and gave us ideas of what we could do around the area so we didn’t completely waste a trip driving all the way out to Haliimaile area. They shared great places to visit and eat at in relation to the pineapples and pineapples were absolutely delicious. We all loved being able to take one home (per person) on the plane to share with grandparents (who also loved the taste of the pineapples). We all learned so much and got beautiful pictures as well. Would definitely come again and bring others to enjoy this unique gem.

Kennedy was an amazing guide who told us not only about the pineapple plantation both current and past but also about her family’s history working in the plantation. One of the best tours in Hawaii! My 6 year old son and I did this tour while visiting Maui in January. We really enjoyed it and learned so much about pineapples. I loved being able to show him where his favorite fruit comes from. However at almost $100 per person it was QUITE spendy and I wish my 18-month old could have come with. My son was so impressed that I got the trivia question right to get the crown of the pineapple to finish "Hawaiian Style". Such yummy pineapples.

On our last day in Maui, my husband and I had some time before our flight, so we decided to take the Maui Pineapple Farm Tour. While the price initially seemed a bit steep, we were drawn in by the fact that each ticket included a TSA-ready boxed pineapple to take home.
We arrived early and grabbed lunch at the restaurant next to the pineapple store, as recommended by the staff member who checked us in. We shared a buttermilk chicken sandwich and pineapple upside-down cake à la mode—and wow, were we in for a treat! The sandwich was perfectly crispy with juicy, flavorful chicken, topped with a tangy coleslaw that complemented it beautifully. I was so impressed I had to ask how they made it! Then came the pineapple upside-down cake with pineapple ice cream, which was absolutely fabulous. Despite the lunch rush, the staff remained attentive and friendly throughout our meal.
The tour itself exceeded our expectations. Our driver was engaging and knowledgeable, taking us through the processing area before heading out to the pineapple fields. He taught us how to properly cut a pineapple and what to look for when selecting one—turns out, nearly everything I thought I knew about picking pineapples was wrong! I learned about evaluating color, weight, and where to smell the fruit to ensure it's perfectly ripe. The highlight was tasting the Maui Gold pineapple fresh from the field. I can honestly say it was the most flavorful pineapple I've ever had in my life!
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Maui. It was educational, delicious, and genuinely fun. We'd absolutely do it again!

We learned a lot about pineapples and the effort it takes to grow these delicious local berries (apparently that’s what a pineapple is). Our guide/driver Shiloh was very entertaining so that added to the experience. We really enjoyed tasting fresh pineapples out in the fields.

The tour is relatively expensive at $75 per adult and unfortunately doesn't offer much in terms of value for money.

You travel by bus for 1.5 hours through the pineapple plantation and have three stops where you can get out and look at the fields or the packaging. During the tour you are told everything about the history of pineapples in Hawaii and everything about growing and harvesting the pineapple.
The tour guide really knew a lot (he has worked on the farm for 46 years) and explained everything very well and was able to answer all of the questions on the tour.
At one of the stops everyone was allowed to try 3 pieces of fresh pineapple. Unfortunately the pineapple was not harvested and then cut up by the tour guide, but the tour guide had already harvested the pineapple and had it with him for the whole tour. Of course the pineapple was still freshly harvested recently, but for the feeling it would be better to harvest it and cut it up straight away.

Unfortunately you couldn't see anything in the fields or in the packaging because no one was there and nothing was being done. Everything was explained, but unfortunately there was not much to see (cultivation, harvesting, packaging).

Ultimately, a lot of interesting things were explained, but unfortunately we didn't see anything except the many pineapple fields.

At the end of the tour, everyone receives a pineapple packaged ready for the airport (lasts about 7 days depending on storage, import to Germany is not possible according to the local staff).

All in all, for the price of the tour, it was not completely satisfactory for us.

We really enjoyed the visit to this real (and last) pineapple plantation in Hawaii. A lot of information about the cultivation of pineapples, about this farm, Kennedy, our guide, knew how to transmit his passion.

The tour was educational, fun, informative and well organized. Our guide was upbeat, comical as well as very knowledge, on the day to day operations of the pineapple farm. The pineapple we sampled was very delicious and we are looking forward to eating the pineapple we are taking home with us.

As amateur Florida based pineapple grower wannabes, we had to take this tour while visiting Maui. Checkin was quick and easy, and soon we were waiting for our guide Shilo to pick us up. Shilo is a very enthusiastic guide. High energy and a lot of fun.
You start off in the factory/processing area. He explained the vetting process for the fruit before it gets packed. Now we know to do a float test on our pineapple when we get home from Aldi's. If it sinks it is probably over-ripe!
The we got on the bus and headed into the fields. It is amazing how many they are growing. The flowers are so cool too. We stopped midway and Shilo carved up 3 varieties to try. Most surprising was how good a green pineapple tasted.
Everyone gets a to go pineapple too! Fun. We can't wait to plant our new crowns when we get home.

The tour was very educational and informative as well as entertaining, we all loved it. In the end every couple got two delicious pineapples

Our tour guide Rudy was a retired worker on the farm and was so knowledgeable of the process from planting to harvest. We had an awesome experience and ate several fresh pineapples in the field right off the plant. After the tour, every adult on the tour gets a free pineapple to take home and is packaged for air travel. Highly recommend!

Shiloh is the best tour guide! He is both informative and captivating in keeping our attention. His knowledge is impressive. We now know how to really see if a pineapple is ripe or not. I can’t believe all the produce employees at the supermarket have been telling me to pull the leave out as a way to check for ripeness.

We reserved our spot for the 11:45 90-minute tour so we could kill some time before our late night flight home. Even at $95 per person, it was well worth it to support this business and farm. Our guide was friendly and informative as he shared his extensive knowledge and experience from working there for decades. We ate fresh pineapple pulled from the ground. We were given a convenient double box with handle containing two pineapples that we were able to carry into the airplane and enjoyed eating for the entire week after our trip. This was a fun, interesting, and memorable excursion.

FABULOUS tour! We had Rudy as a tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed the history of the pineapple farm. The tasting and tour were everything and more than we expected. We took Rudy’s suggestion and ate at the General Store across the road. We had the best buttermilk chicken sandwich and pineapple upside down cake with vanilla bean ice cream! A must visit too. My husband and I were fortunate enough to have Rudy as our guide for the Maui Gold Pineapple Tour. We were quickly signed in and boarded the bus with the others who were taking the same tour. Rudy, being a former owner of the plantation, had loads of information to share from how the pineapples are grown, harvested, what the pineapples "enemies" are, and what the health benefits are of pineapples. Being as I work at an outdoor environmental education center in Washington State, I saw this as an opportunity to take a bunch of notes and create a quick PowerPoint to share with my coworkers...they have no idea what they are in for. At the conclusion of the tour, we were each given a airport authorized pineapple to take home, well, ours didn't make it home, we ate them while we were still on the island. You have never tasted such a sweet pineapple. After a brief break to shop in the Pineapple Store our group walked next door to the restaurant where we were seated with 3 other couples. Normally this would make us somewhat uncomfortable but everyone was so friendly and had a story to share. I had the mac crusted fish and my husband had the short ribs. The mac crusted fish was the best I had while on vacation and my husbands short ribs we so tender, no knife necessary!

The tour was exactly what we wanted. While on the bus we learned about the history of the island and the plantation. When we got off the bus we saw pineapple growing and got to taste samples. Our tour guide was informative and humorous. The selection of items to view and purchase in the store was good and receiving two pineapples to take with us was the best way to end our experience.

We had a great time! Bryan was a wonderful tour guide; we learned a great deal and enjoyed delicious pineapple samples. They even give you two to take home (and they are packed for you to take as a carry-on). The gift shop is lovely and it helped us find gifts for friends at home. Go!

The Maui Pineapple Farm Tour is AMAZING! Learning about the process of growing pineapples and how the company came to be is educational and fun! The pineapples are absolutely DELICIOUS and the icing on the cake after the wonderful tour of the farm. I highly recommend adding this to your trip to Maui!

The tour is a lot of fun. We got there early to look around the store. The tour was about 45 minutes. They took us through the pineapple fields. We got to see where they grow and pick them all. It was a lot of fun and very informative. At one point we got out and got to try pineapple straight off the vine.

We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The guide was helpful and fun. We learnt a lot and enjoyed seeing and tasting the pineapples. Recommended.

The tour was good, but not as good as expected. It would be nice if they offered to cut the pineapple to take with us since it would be awhile since we flew home and the pineapple doesn't last long. Tour guides were knowledgeable.

It is amazing they have this farm, and we had no idea of all the planning and work that goes into growing pineapples. You are each given a fresh pineapple as you leave which was even more special to eat after being on the tour.

Learning all about the farming process was very interesting. Our tour guide Brian did an outstanding job explaining the details of the process and history.

Very interesting and the pineapple we sampled was the best I’ve ever had. The farm is next to a distillery and a glass art shop. We visited the glass shop, and the work there is very impressive.

Back to the pineapple tour, we saw pineapple in all stages of development. It is a much longer and intensive process than expected.

It is a working farm, and wind and weather can be a factor. Overall, a great experience.

Everyone knows Maui is beautiful but the area that doesn't get hyped enough is upcountry. The people, farms and vistas are wonderful. We cannot recommend Maui Pineapple enough! It is more than just a "touristy" thing to do. Hint: support local.
It is a working farm supplying a true Hawaiian product. Our tour was fascinating! Educational and eye-opening. Our leader, Kennedy, shared the history of pineapple farms, the growth stages of the pineapple and the amount of effort it takes to produce pineapple. While in the field, Kennedy cut fresh pineapple to let us sample the varying sweetness of the different sections of the pineapple ( and yes there is a difference).
The gift shop/store is really cute and has a ton of items to peruse...all pineapple related of course.

Very interesting tour - learned a lot about pineapple growing and a little bit about the pineapple industry on Maui. Of course the best part was eating the fresh pineapple in the middle of the field. Mainland pineapple cannot compare.

Maui Gold Pineapple is so delicious. Kennedy did a great job keeping tour interesting and informative. The pineapple tasting was great and we learned a lot about what to look for when buying pineapple. It is amazing the amount of effort, time and labor involved in growing pineapples. We each received a pineapple to take home and learned how to plant the crown to hopefully grow our own pineapple. Afterwards we shopped in the store and bought several cute pineapple themed items.

We learned so many interesting facts about pineapples and the farm..Our guide Cassidy was very upbeat and fun. A unique, fun experience!!! Check it out!!!

Very interesting! We learned how to choose a pineapple at the supermarket. The pineapples were soooo delicious! Truly, one of a kind!

Our tour guide Brian was great and full of information. We toured all the fields that were in different stages of growth and even got to see the pickers harvesting the pineapples. I never knew there was over 200 varieties of pineapple and it took over 50 crosses to get the Maui gold. It was very sweet and we tasted it in the fields as well as when we got back they gave us one to bring home on the plane, TSA ready.

This tour far exceeded our expectations. We have a 14 year old and 18 year old. They both had a blast. Our tour guide Shilo was hilarious and made the tour that much more enjoyable. I highly recommend a visit.

The only downside was not knowing that the pineapple we obtained and was packed by Maui plantation tour was not allowed through customs in Japan. They threw it away. If we had known this on the tour we would have declined that pineapple or given it to someone else. They were delicious

Didn't know quite what to expect but got way more than we planned. The lady that gave our tour (don't remember her name) showed us the house where she grew up next to the planatation. To say the least, she was very knowledgable and was able to give a very informative tour including expalantions on how to grow our own pineapples and, as importantly, how to make pinapple cocktails! The tour incldued the whole growing process by visting sections of the plantation with examples of initial plantings all the way throught to areas ready for harvest. In the field, we were able to taste some pineapple that she had for us. It also included a tour of the processing plant and the stages to get the pineapples ready for shipmnent. We have already started the process to grow our own pineapples! I highly recommend this tour.

Loved this tour! We were able to see the production line of the pineapple business, and the actual fields of different stages of the pineapple growth. Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Cassidy. The bits of rain didn’t keep us down. We had signed up for the pineapple a month club to help support the Maui economy after the Lahaina fire and knew that on our next trip we wanted to do the farm tour. Supporting local farmers is so important. So great to taste the pineapple on the tour and leave with some. Lovely gift shop and well worth the trip from Ka’anapali. We look forward to our shipment each month to remind us of Maui.

This was very interesting. We got to learn the history of the farm and how the pineapples are planted, processed and got to taste pineapples. Our guide was very knowledgeable. He had a great personality and you can tell loves his job. We all got to take a pineapple home so we got to enjoy fresh pineapple during the rest of our stay.

Our family enjoyed our trip out to the farm. The tour was interesting and the views from the hillside were amazing! The tour bus was very comfortable and our guide was really nice. We got to try three pineapples as a group and were given two boxes (each with two pineapples) at the end of the tour.

This was a fun and interesting tour. Even my son and his wife who live there enjoyed it. And we each took home a delicious pineapple!!

We chose the pineapple plantation tour over the cacao tour, and it turned out to be a great decision. The entire experience lasted about an hour and a half. Our guide, Rudy, was incredibly knowledgeable about every step of the pineapple industry—from farming and planting to harvesting, processing, packaging, and shipping. He spent 47 years working in the pineapple business and had just recently retired, so his insights felt especially authentic.

The tour began at the processing and packaging facility, where we learned how pineapples are washed, sorted, and packed into boxes. For hygiene reasons, everyone was asked to wear a bouffant cap. Then we boarded a tour bus and headed out to the fields. Along the way, we made several stops to learn about the different stages of pineapple growth. Midway through, Rudy cut open a fresh pineapple for us to taste. This hybrid variety was sweet with low acidity. I even raised my hand for the pineapple core. (It is said that the pineapple core is rich in bromelain, a group of enzymes with potential anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits).

We wrapped up the tour at the Maui Gold gift shop, filled with all things pineapple. Each guest also received a Maui Gold pineapple to take home, which you can also find in Hawaiian local premium store or Whole Foods. We were assured they can be brought on the plane.

Do plan to arrive 5–10 minutes early, as everyone needs to sign a waiver before starting. To avoid feeling rushed, it's best to leave a bit of buffer time in your schedule. Enjoy!

This was an awesome experience if you’re in Maui. We loved learning about the history of pineapples in Hawaii and touring the farm. The pineapple is like nothing you’ve ever had. So perfect. And you get to take one home in an airport ready container. Shiloh the tour guide was fantastic.

This Pineapple tour was a great way to spend the afternoon. Our tour guide was very informative and funny as well. It was interesting to learn how the pineapples are planted by hand, how they grow and when they are ripe. It was so fun taking pictures in the fields and getting to sample the different colored pineapples. They were all delicious! I highly recommend this tour!

We had so much fun at the Maui Pineapple Tour. Our guide Kennedy was fantastic, she gave us a lot of the history of pineapples on Maui, and basically grew up around the Maui Pineapple Farm. It was really informative, not at all boring - even for teenagers. It was so cool to see pineapples in various stages of growth, learn about how they are harvested, and taste them straight from the field. Then, everyone got a boxed pineapple to take home. The views of the coast from the farm were great, too!

This was a great excursion, and I learned so much about farming pineapples. Kennedy was our tour guide and driver, and she shared so much about the farm and growing pineapples. She said she is basically a pineapple since she has eaten so many since she was young and you'll find out it is also because she is so sweet and wants the guests to learn about the pineapple but also about their dedicated farmers who have worked this farm for years. Everything is still done by hand on this farm, and it takes about two years to get to the mature stage. Be sure you buy one of their pineapples because they are so sweet. This tour is a must if you want to take in a different aspect of Maui than just the beaches. Also right across the street is the Makai Glass Blowing Gallery. Be sure you stop there as you'll be blow away by the talent of their glass blowers and the pieces they make. You can watch the glass blowers for free, but do leave a donation so they can continue their artwork.

This tour exceeded my expectations! It was personal, authentic, and interactive. The guide was passionate and informative. We so enjoyed the sweet pineapple that we ordered several shipments to give to family and friends.

Had an amazing tour of the Maui Gold Pineapple business. Cassidy? was a great tour guide and very knowledgeable. We learned so many interesting facts about the history of pineapple growth on Maui, and sadly how small the area they harvest has become. Truly incredible hearing how only a few men, in their 60s do all the harvesting. I would highly recommed this tour.

Loved the tour! Very well organized and authentic. The guide and staff at shop is genuinely proud of the product they offer, which is exactly the way it should be - and in turn learnt a lot about Maui Gold pineapples.

Our guide Kennedy was excellent and had the aloha spirit. I would recommend this as a must do if you’re a pineapple fan or not. I will never look at pineapple the same way again.

From start to finish this was an excellent tour. From the processing facility, to the fields Brian was excellent at either whole process as well as all the history. Of course the tasting at the end was wonderful. If you get Brian you won’t be disappointed. I am sure all the guides are great but Brian was awesome. You can’t go wrong with this tour.

Go on this tour if you have any interest in nature, pineapple and true Hawaiian farming. Bryan was a great tour guide, knowledgeable,educational,fun,comfortable bus ride experience and not too big of a group that you couldn't hear what Bryan was saying. And we each got a pineapple which was amazing. Hopefully they can keep this farm going without being taken over by a large corporation.

I saw an ad for this tour and we were trying to find something fun to do on a day after a storm had muddied the snorkel sites. This tour was such a pleasant surprise! Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable, and we learned so much about how pineapples are grown, harvested and processed. I especially enjoyed the many samples we got to eat. The length of the tour was just right, too, and we had fun perusing the shop afterwards. Plus we got to see a part of the island we had not visited before. All in all, we ended up grateful that the storm forced us to do something different, and we are glad it was this. I would higlhly recommend this tour to anyone!

Our ship got into port late and there were no accommodations or refund offered to our party of 7. We also lost $115 on the taxi fare. What a waste. Very very disappointed as it was completely out of our control.

I highly recommend this tour! We learned about growing pineapples and saw some of the production areas. Our guide took us out to the fields where we sampled fresh pineapples—you’ve never tasted anything like them! The gift shop is also wonderful! You also get a pineapple to take home, packed to take on the plane!

We did the afternoon tour with Kennedy. She was wonderful, with really great stories and knowledge about the history of pineapple in the islands, and then specific to this farm. Tasting the fresh pineapple there really showed the variations in what we can routinely get on the mainland and what you get while on the islands.
It was definitely worth the trip, and will be encouraging more folks to do the tour.

Maui pineapple tour was incredible from start to finish. Our tour guide Brian was very knowledgeable about the process. The tour was very interesting with the guide injecting humor and quiz questions along the way. There’s nothing like eating fresh pineapple in the field. Can’t wait to try the Hawaiian gold we brought home. This tour is a must do in Maui!

Tour of a working pineapple farm. We were able to see pineapple plants in various stages and received a free pineapple at the end. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the farm and provided a wealth of information. Don’t sleep on the pineapple upside down cake in the cafe across the street.

What a great experience! We thoroughly enjoyed learning about the pineapple business and how this locally managed business helps local farmers. The tour was interesting with multiple stops in the pineapple fields, learning about the various stages of pineapple maturity, and best of all we were able to enjoy a delicious pineapple tasting. After this great tour, my wife and I enjoyed a great meal at the restaurant next door, then toured the custom glass making studio across the street. The views were absolutely amazing and my wife and I both brought the pineapples they gave us back home. Highly recommended!.

The tour was informative and the views from pineapple fields were lovely. But I am giving this tour 3 stars because at 95pp it is way overpriced even for Hawaii standards. I was curious how it got such good reviews at this price so maybe this is a recent increase. Yes, you get to try pineapple and even get one nicely boxed to take home, but at this cost, would expect an interactive component or something special. I understand that running a farm is expensive but this is not a way to make it sustainable.

We visited in October 2025. Nice and informative tour but be prepared to burn. Pineapple tasting (and cutting) was done in the field without any shade. Burning hot.

Tasting should not be there but in a building.

The Maui Pineapple Farm Tour in Haliʻimaile was an absolute delight! From start to finish, it was fun, educational, and delicious. 🍍 The drive up to the plantation was gorgeous, and the setting in the upcountry felt so peaceful.

Our guide was fantastic — super knowledgeable, engaging, and made the whole group laugh while teaching us so much about pineapples and the history of the farm. 🌱 I had no idea how much care goes into growing each one, and it made me appreciate every bite even more.

Of course, the best part was tasting the pineapples fresh from the field — perfectly ripe, juicy, and unlike anything you’ll ever find in a store. 🤤🍍 We even got to take one home, which was such a sweet bonus.

This was such a unique Maui experience and definitely one of the highlights of my trip. Highly recommend for couples, families, or anyone who loves learning, exploring, and of course, eating pineapple! 🌺🌴✨

Excellent tour, we got to see how pineapples grew from start to finish. There's a small store at the start of the tour to purchase food items and Maui gold pineapple souvenirs. At the end of the tour we got to taste pineapples and we will got to take a pineapple home. They even put it in a tsa approved travel box

For our 53rd Wedding Anniversary we came to Maui. We decided to take the Maui Gold Pineapple Farm tour. Our tour guide was Shilo. He was very informative and engaging; and made the tour lively and fun. We gotcto see the plants from the beginning to small buds to mature pineapples. The special treat was tasting the fresh Pineapple standing in the field surrounded by thousands of plants. Everyone should take this tour!

Fabulous, fun, informative!! Super fun tour of the pineapple farm, including several fresh pineapples cut for our eating pleasure. The absolute sweetest pineapple I’ve ever tasted. Friendly, knowledgeable guide. Really friendly, nice people. Amazing store filled with pineapple products. Ever heard of Pineapple butter? Me neither. But I had to have some! Highly recommend this tour!! 10/10.

We have been coming to Maui for 20 years and never done this. Friends wanted to try it so we did and had a great time. Highly recommended!

Our guide was very good and we learned a lot about pineapples. We understand now why the tour was so expensive ( $95!). Animals have caused a million dollars of damage to the pineapple fields. It looked very sad. We don't understand why they are only building a fence now, and it's only partially completed! Why didn't they immediately recruit workers and offer high wages as soon as they saw there was a problem? It made no sense. There is also a terrible shortage of workers to plant and pick. All in all , a sad situation. The pineapple we tasted on the tour was delicious.

What a great tour! Learned so much that we would have never known about how pineapples are grown and harvested. Our guide Kennedy was the best! You really get the understanding of how this small company works like a well-oiled machine. Kudos to their small staff of just over 30 employees for keeping it running and providing the world with these delicious pineapples. The gift shop and free pineapple for each guest were just the icing on the cake! Highly recommend this to anyone.

Great tour & pineapple! However, the tour guide advised us that our hotel could help us cut up the pineapple you receive with the tour. We stayed at the Grand Wailea and they were unable to assist or even provide steak knives to allow us to cut it ourselves. They stated that it was against the Maui country health codes to cut up outside food. Also against their security policy to provide steak knives.

Would be great if you gave guests the opportunity to select between a whole or precut pineapple with the tour. Super disappointing to not be able to enjoy the best pineapple ever!

Awesome experience to experience Maui’s largest and oldest pineapple farm.

Our tour guide was funny and informative. Our bus was probably half capacity which was perfect.

During the tour we were able to get off the bus to take pictures, try pineapples and tour the factory.

The gift shop was cute and there’s a distillery and tasting room if you’re traveling with people of age for pre or post tour activity.

Definitely recommend to add to your list.

Cassidy did a most commendable job as our guide with a nice blend of information, humor, and slicing pineapples to eat. Quite an impressive operation that was nicely explained.

The tour was definitely worth the time and money. What's not to love? You get a good dose of history and why agriculture and pineapples were so important. You get to spend time in the fields seeing the lifecycle of the plants and talk about the harvest and the love and work that goes into the pineapples. Then you get to sample some of the fruit while learning how to pick the best ones when you go shopping!

Make sure you sign up ahead of time as slots fill can fill up in advance as they limit the number of people on any given tour. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and funny. She was able to keep everyone engaged while dishing up way more info about pineapples, history, and tasting notes than I could ever imagine!

The only thing that I could think to watch out for would be to sign up for an earlier time slot if you are wary of sun exposure or hotter times of day, though the guide did have bottled water on board if people did get overly hot.

We were so disappointed when a storm arrived right after we did on our long-awaited vacation. We knew we wouldn't be able to snorkel the next day, but luckily I had seen an add for the Pineapple Farm Tour. What a pleasant surprise! Or guide was friendly and knowledgeable, the tour was very informative, and we got so many samples of delicious Maui Gold pineapple! The length of the tour was just right, and we enjoyed perusing the gift shop afterwards. And we each got a delicious Maui Gold as part of the tour! This was a great way to spend a couple of hours, and it also allowed us to see a part of the island we otherwise wouldn't have visited. We ended up grateful that the storm prevented us from snorkeling that day. I would recommend this tour to anyone.

We took the Maui Pineapple Farm tour. It was very informative and I learned many things I thought I knew about pineapples. Our guide was very knowledgeable and we sampled three different pineapples. Delicious! Would recommend.

Good tour, guide was Brian, he did a good job. We learned a lot about pineapples and the farm. The van’s air conditioning wasn’t 100% and was loud and hard to hear the guide. We toured the day before we left for home and took our pineapples back home to share with family with no problems. They were delicious

Yes our guide was very knowledgeable about pineapples. I asked him many questions and he was able to answer them completely.

Would leave negative stars if I could. We were a group that included elderly and 3 young kids, one having illness issues the morning of tour. We got my sick son ready to come on tour (had a bug bite issue, nothing contagious) and I called the tour guide and told them we would be 5-10 minutes from the tour start time, that we would arrive by 11:55am (your started at 11:45am). We arrived at 11:53am exactly, my husband driving as fast and as safe as he could. They told us the bus would not wait one minute past 11:50am. When we arrived, the lady named Tammy was extremely rude, told me that there were 44 other people on the tour (which was a lie), and they would not wait for us by 3 minutes. She would not refund us and would not help us in any way. She also said she would not reschedule to later that day. When I asked her if we could at least drive a little further to meet the bus she said we were trespassing. BUYER BEWARE: customer service is awful, Tammy is extremely rude, no flexibility in this tour if unexpected things come up when traveling with little ones.

Our tour guide, Kennedy, was great! She was very knowledgeable and passionate about pineapples! I learned so much about the planting and growing of pineapples, as well as how to choose a good pineapple. I also sadly learned that the pineapples we get on the mainland are from the Philippines and Costa Rica, not Hawaii. When we were flying from Maui to Kauai we were told at the airport that the pineapples we were given at the tour counted as one piece of luggage so we had to scramble and stuff them into our carryon luggage. We should have been told that on the tour. Mahalo.

Kennedy was a really knowledgeable tour guide who related really well with the tour group. A side plus was the sound system was the best I've ever experienced on a tour like this. We could always clearly hear what she had to say.

Educational, eye-opening and delicious. What you learn, what you see and what you taste. You can't beat fresh, ripe and sweet pineapple picked that day. Yes, everyone gets a pineapple at the end of the tour...but it's not free. The hefty fee of $95 includes the pineapple. I was happy to receive one knowing it had just been picked the day before. Maui Gold is not available outside of the Hawaiian Islands except by online order. But it is available at the local grocery store and I found out it can be carried over the border into Canada. Not sure about mainland USA as border control more strict about it. Website advertises that it's TSA approved so it must be so.

The tour was fun to do, the guide knowledgeable and local. He cut up fresh pineapple and gave everyone slices. Sticky and sweet, then he gave out wipes. They are prepared.

Pineapple processing is very simple. They throw them in a large drum of water and the ones that float are sprayed with a wax coat for preservation and then boxed. That's it. The ones that sink are put into compost. Some that are too small are sent to the distillery and made into....pineapple vodka! That will be another tour for another time.

There were four of us and each of us got a pineapple. Since we still had a few days in Maui, we opened one and ate it at our hotel. We carried three home in the Maui Gold carrying case. We could smell the sweet aroma all the way on the plane and through the airport. People kept stopping us to ask us if that was a real pineapple we were carrying. We know for next time that we can buy and bring home.

My only complaint was the transport around the fields was a van which was left running when it came to pick up and idling in the field. In a place where conservation, clean air and water are so important, polluting through needless carbon emission seems like an oxymoron.

Our tour guide, Brian, was knowledgeable, funny, and handy with a machete - for cutting up pineapples, of course.
This experience far exceeded my initial expectations. We chose this, because my parents had toured the Dole plantation almost 60 years ago, and my mom wanted to tour a Pineapple farm on Maui..and so here we are.
I left today, with a deep admiration and respect for the small group of farmers that care for the 750 acres of land where they plant, grow, and harvest this amazing crop. Additionally, we each walked away with a home-grown Maui Gold pineapple!! BONUS! The free samples out in the field were so amazing; I had juice dripping from my chin.
The money from these tours helps to keep this farm in operation and since most of the pineapples sold in the US come from Costa Rica, this is a fantastic reason to visit this farm, take the tour, and savor the sweet taste of pineapple.

Not worth the money!!!!? Stay at the beach!!!! Tour consisted of a walk through of a non-operational pineapple packing facility, a bumpy ride in a tour bus with a continuous rattling loud air conditioning unit that prohibited hearing the tour guides commentary, and a tasting of two pineapples in a dusty field.

While seated at the back of the bus I had water rain down on me from the air conditioner from built up condensation. My seat had pooling water in it that restricted me to sharing a seat with another passenger. Upon notification to the tour guide he responded with the acknowledgement that. "it happens all the time". When I suggested they fix the unit he said, "it's only water". This did not console me wearing wet shorts and top.

Just Google an image of a pineapple field and buy some pineapple at the ABC store. Waste of money and time on a gorgeous island.

We did notice that they delete any adverse reviews.

Great adventure. Very educational on the care and proper planting of pineapple. Also teaches you how to pick out a good pineapple. Give you to opportunity to taste pineapple at different levels of sweet & tart. At the end you can take home a pineapple prepackaged and airport ready. Our tour guy (Marcelo) was very friendly and funny.

Very educational, enjoyable and we would encourage everyone to take the tour. Free whole pineapples per person was a bonus.

Brian was our tour guide and he provided history of the Hawaiian Pineapple history, on the farm and how harvesting has changed around the world.

We were able to see newly planted fields, about to be harvested fields and taste fresh cut pineapple strawberries straight from the field.

Brian was witty, skilled with a machete and was happy to share tips on the do’s and don’ts of picking a pineapple.

It was interesting and our tour was on Thursday, today is Monday and we cut into one of our pineapple from the tour—it was amazing. Brian was right, Maui Gold has ruined me for pineapple 🍍.

Our tour was followed by going to the distillery after…good to know pineapple can be versatile.

What a wonderful tour this was! It was both enjoyable as well as educational, and the information on pineapples will not be forgotten. The Maui Gold pineapple was by far the best I have ever tasted! Makes me sad to think that this is the last surviving pineapple farm on Maui, and I hope the owners figure out a way to keep it running. Anyone reading this should only choose Maui Gold for taste, as well as helping keep small businesses open, even if it costs more (you can have them shipped as we did also). Great tour and guide!

The tour was led by a very knowledgable farm employee who showed us the processing area and then drove us round the farm with multiple stops. We saw pineapples in all stages of their growth and had many opportunities to sample the fruit freshly picked. It was honestly the tastiest pineapple I’ve ever eaten. We learned all about the farm, its history, and how pineapples are planted, grown, and processed. Very informative and fun!

It’s humbling and fascinating to learn about the rich cultural heritage of the Haliimaile pineapple farms. Our tour guide, Kennedy was very knowledgeable, engaging, humorous and courteous. A must do tour - immerse yourself in the rich nature and the sample pineapple tasting!

The tour was very informative. We learned a lot but I will say that our tour guide, Shiloh, spoke a million miles a minute! It was interesting to learn how pineapple is grown and harvested. The tastings were not “all you can eat” as you are led to believe but the pineapple was delicious!

A pet peeve of mine is when a tour guide asks for tips at the end. There is a sign in the bus and most people already know to tip and if not, they can read the sign. It wasn’t necessary for the tour guide to ask for a tip.

Very enjoyable experience. They have an amazing operation. Shiloh was very entertaining and gave us a lot of great info. The pineapple is the highlight, though. You will not find better pineapple than Maui Gold.

So glad I chose to add this to our excursions! The trip was both entertaining and informative. It did not feel commercialized. It felt like a true family-owned business, personable and full of history and culture. It held the attention of my 3 and 8 year old kids, and the grandparents with limited mobility were able to comfortably participate as well (couple steps up and down a bus and standing for max 10-15 minutes at a time at several stops.)

The pineapple itself is absolutely delicious. My extremely picky daughter suddenly fell in love with Maui Gold pineapple (she hated pineapple before.) My father in law was so enamored he requested more for Father's Day (and we happily obliged and had two shipped to him.)

We were on the NCL Price of America cruise but booked this trip direct and I heard after the fact that booking through the cruise you don't get the souvenir pineapples. FYI - YES you can take them on an airplane (we were able to fit our boxes under the seat like carryon.)

The gift shop had some great items, food and otherwise, for purchase. And there is a highly recommended restaurant across the street (we didn't get to go as it didn't work with our timing.)

I would highly recommend this company!

Brian was an excellent tour guide explains the Hawaiian history of pineapple plantations, land management, life-long workers as family, competition of other markets. I also enjoyed learning the life cycle of the PA as well as how to determine ripeness and quality. Receiving a gift at the end was most welcoming.

Our group of 12 enjoyed the pineapple tour. And the pineapple was so delicious! I learned some interesting things about pineapples. The town Paia is relatively close and I would suggest riding there. Close to town is a place to watch surfers and possibly see turtles on the beach.

Fun and knowledgeable trip. Shilo did a good job. It was worth the time and cost. We learned quite a bit and had a chance to taste a few different pineapples.

This was a great tour, super interesting & great tour guide. Loved getting to visit a working farm & learning all about island agriculture. Gift shop is also fantastic. Highly recommend! Worth a drive.

Had a great tour with Shiloh! Learned a few new things and got to try delicious pineapples! This tour is on a working farm, so you will need to be able to go up and down stairs and on/off bus without issue and walk around in the red soil, so I wouldn’t recommend wearing white or light colored shoes. There are a couple stops for photos and each individual gets to take home an airport ready pineapple. Iced water is provided on the bus.

This was an exceptional experience! I highly recommend it for a family trip or a business trip - we were with customers and they loved it! We started with lunch at the Hallimale General Store and then had the tour where we enjoyed a pineapple tasting. You can purchase pineapple to take home in a TSA approved box.
