Great place to buy things

By Bkbak |

It is back at its real location. 6/19 was its second Saturday at its real location. It is not at full capacity but still offers many stalls of varied goodies from homemade food to imported items to handmade things, to quality artistry. They have not charged admission for the first two Saturdays back at this location.

Don’t Hesitate “Come to Maui Swap Meet”

By Jane H |

I ventured to Maui Swap Meet near the end of my visit here when I should have made it my first priority. I felt very welcomed by the exhibitors & never pressured.
I enjoyed every minute looking at every booth & marvelling at the unique items displayed. Clearly a lot of time, patience and expertise went into developing this market.
I picked up things that I had been looking for at reasonable affordable prices.
I highly recommend visiting here the FIRST Saturday of your visit to get an idea of what is offered, and if time is limited buy it here as you may not see it anywhere else at that price. If you are lucky enough to go again you can buy the items that you were thinking about. Admission fee of 50 cents is a bargain here. There is plenty of activity for all ages & something for everyone here. A wonderful time spent at Maui Swap Meet ! 😎

Fun way to spend Saturday morning

By MB M |

Whether you are a serious shopper or just enjoy the view, this is a great Saturday morning activity in Maui. The Maui coffee seller has great beans. Perhaps you will please many friends with gifts from this gathering of artists.

Gifts and farmers market in one

By j L |

I very much enjoyed myself here. It costs 50 cents to get in. There is plenty of parking. I loved the fresh fruit best. There was also an amazing lemonade stand. Lots of food and crafty things to choose from.

The best place to get genuine Hawaiian crafts and great deals on flowers and produce

By Andy R |

I got up at 6 am to go here because I had to catch my flight at 10. Two hours was not enough time to leisurely see everything. Great homemade baked goods, great deals on produce and gorgeous flowers not to mention all the beautifully made Hawaiian crafts. All for 50 cents admission! Even have massages at bargains. Definitely one of the high points of my visit.

Good deals - great for souvenirs

By jaysquares |

Got a couple of really nice Maui baseball hats here at the 808 stall - went back the next weekend to grab another hat, but they didn’t have it so went to their location in Kihei and couldn’t get the same deal - still hats were really nice. Drank fresh coconut juice straight from the coconut - man cuts them up for you for $5. Bought a wooden Christmas ornament that was engraved on the spot. Many other reviewers said they negotiated prices, we did this but the sellers never seemed too happy about it. Bought some beautiful dichroic glass earrings too!

Worth a visit

By hockeymomStPaul_Mn |

We went on Saturday morning in December and arrived around 8:30. Plenty of nearby parking and a fifty cent admission. Started in the back row and went up and down the row of booths. We were back in the car around 10:00.

It’s really sunny and unprotected so bring a hat and sunglasses. It’s a bit of a farmers market and a bit of a craft show combined. Seriously yummy crepes, coconut bread, banana bread, mango and watermelon drinks, fruit bowls were all available and tried by our group. There are some unique artists and plenty of basic souvenirs for less than what you would spend elsewhere. Many vendors took cards although some were cash only.

It’s located fairly close to Whole Foods, and maybe 20 minutes from Wailea. In comparison to the Lahaina Sunday market, it’s much larger and more interesting.

Not Aloha Stadium but still really fun!

By mauimom4four |

Despite having been to Maui many times, we had never made it to the swap meet until today. While smaller than Oahu’s it was still very fun to walk the stands and grab drinks/snacks along the way. It gets crowded... and hot. (Don’t forget to sunblock!)

This is definitely worth a Saturday morning stroll!

Only .50 to get in - don't try it with a $20 bill!

By Krisinseattle |

Enjoyed a very established swap meet in Kahalui next to the college. There were food vendors, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, clothing, new and vintage, carved wood pieces, paintings, music, and just about anything you could desire. Paved paths between rows make it easy to maneuver and vendors under cover in case of sun.

Do all your tchatchke souvenir shopping in one place

By lskohn |

The good - all the usual souvenirs and arts and crafts that you find at the hotels and ABC Store type places all in one place, sometimes cheaper here. Pleasant vendors. The bad - not much originality, pretty low quality, lots of imports from China and elsewhere.
Food items are probably the most reliable (though the farmers' markets at outlying towns tend to have wider selection cheaper)

Don't go to a Shopping Mall. Good place to shop for gifts!!

By BlazerFan97062 |

many of the vendors accept credit cards...Cash payments are appreciated!

Check out all the fresh fruits and veggies from local farmers.

Great Selection with Lots of Vendors

By Susan H |

This is a Saturday activity only. If this is your first time here, I would plan a good 3 hours to explore the booths. We arrived an hour and a half before they closed, and it just wasn’t near enough time. Lots of souvenirs and prices are much better than gift shops. Some fruit and vegetable booths as well as food booths. There is a 50 cent charge to enter and the market has a free parking lot.

A Maui must!

By Ruth S |

If you are on Maui on Saturdays, take in this weekly activity. Have gone many times and always find something to buy...art, crafts, baked goods, food, produce and more. Some items you may find elsewhere but not likely the low prices offered here. They charge 50 cents for admission but no charge for parking. It is held on the Maui College campus.

Fun Saturday event!

By deezigner |

Every time we go to Maui we love to go to the Maui Swap Meet. It's on Saturday 7am to 1pm. This time we went an hour or so before close. Parking was easy and admission is only 50 cents. It has rows and rows of local products and fresh produce towards the back. Great for souvenirs and clothing, hats, great artists and yummy food. The vendors are so nice and fun too! I definitely recommend this event.

40th Anniversary Trip with Family

By Ardel M |

I was looking for inexpensive jewelry to take home as gifts. The cheapest item I saw was $1.00. The most expensive was $2500.00. It was a fun morning just to walk around and look. I found one vendor who had necklaces and bracelets for $20.00 each. I bought nine items to take home as gifts, including a necklace for myself. I have worn that necklace probably four or five times and I always receive compliments on it.

Swap meet

By shaila |

It cost 💲 .75 to get in and is full of vendors! Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, a couple of food trucks and lots of friendly business. If you want Maui souvenirs this is a great place! Got a key chain for $2. They have cloths, soap, bags and so much more! Worth checking out if you are around on a Saturday!

Wait for Saturday

By Soulki |

Resist the temptation to buy your souvenirs at the shops you pass walking around and go to the swap meet on Saturday morning. You will find everything there! A carved surfboard I paid 60.00 for I could have gotten 2 for 20 at the meet. Savings galore and a really cool way to visit with the locals. We had lunch at one of the food trucks there and it may as well have been a 3-star restaurant. We chose the French style crepes stuffed with brie, chicken, and spinach. Fantastic!!

Quick Trip to Swap Meet

By RSMTMN |

My daughter and I attended the swap meet on our way to the airport. It was very easy to find and to park. We only had about 40 minutes to shop. The price was very cheap to enter and we were able to get around to all of the booths. We were looking for specific items and we found them all at reasonable prices! I like to support local artists and vendors and this was definitely the place to do that.

Love this place!

By happy4travel |

Another great place here is the Aloha Stadium. This place goes on forever! Gorgeous flowers and welcoming atmosphere, it’s the best. Only 50 cents!! per person. The place goes on and on. It’s my favorite! Don’t miss it.

Good swap meet

By Patty W |

This swap meet is better than most. They have a lot of vendors. It is a great place to buy local souvenirs. It costs 50 cents to get in and there is plenty of free parking. Jus t for a quick look allow about 45 minutes.

Great for Inexpensive Souvenirs

By USALouise |

We visited the Maui Swap Meet on March 14th, just before the shutdown, near the end of our trip. It was a fantastic place to pick up cheap trinkets and souvenirs before flying home. There were some nice craft items and delicious food as well, from vendors and food trucks. I bought quite a few handmade soaps at reasonable prices. Obviously, the items available for only one dollar were not high-quality but were fine as inexpensive gifts. I had purchased a bracelet the day before for $7 that was selling for $1 at the swap meet. It's a pleasant way to spend an hour or two rather than going from store to store in Paia or other towns, and generally less expensive.

If you're close go, if not...skip

By Deanna J |

I purchased picture frames, some fruit, and a few odds and ends, but I wouldn't go back, unless I was staying close or if I was arriving early on a Saturday from the airport or on my way home, stop and purchase things that are cheaper to take back home with you. The vendors are very friendly.

Ate my way around the market

By Roy J |

There were so many great little food venders there. Everything I bought was good. There is plenty of fresh fruit and vegetable vendors to pick from too.

great day

By fivestar98 |

This swap meet is fun and lots of good deals. You can shop for souvenirs, tshirts, fresh produce, handmade items and more. It is only 50 cents admission! Parking was plenty when we went. Don't miss the shave ice. This is a good day for locals and visitors alike.

Great place to visit for an hour. Lots of local vibe.

By FAMILYTRAVELER07 |

I wan't sure I'd like this sort of farmers/craft market as I thought it might be a cheesy tourist trap (which is what I thought of the Lahaina Front Street shopping area). This was not the case at all. Vendors were friendly without being hawkish and the booths were attractively decorated. Shoppers were a mix of locals and visitors. Nice people watching. Busy but not overcrowded. I left with a nice batch of banana bread and a new t-shirt for my husband. Many vendors were selling the same items such as inexpensive jewelry and Maui souvenirs, but there were a few exceptional standouts that made the visit worthwhile. The atmosphere was very pleasant. Better than I had expected.

What a cool stop!

By Keith B |

Don't miss this. It turned into a fun morning with great food and gift shopping and was on our way to a Haleakala Sunset

Lots to See

By Amy S |

We really enjoyed the Maui Swap Meet. There are many local vendors there that sell handcrafted items or produce. It was a great place for souvenirs! There were also several food vendors set up as well.

Great place for souviners and food

By midawg73 |

If your looking for cheap souvenirs or unique items this is the place. Besides clothing and packaged food items they also have food booths for some quick bites. Make sure you try surfing girls shaved ice. It was so good. They also had a few booths with antiques/collectibles. The admission is .50$ and is well worth it.

Hidden Gem

By Nicki D |

Great place to buy gifts. Cost 50 cents to enter. Several local artists there selling their items cheaper than in the gift stores at the shore.

Definitely plan on buying your souvenirs here!

By Jan H |

What a fun place to visit on a Saturday morning on Maui. Plenty of parking and hundreds of vendors! We bought most of our souvenirs here, and regretted that we hadn't bought them all here. The fresh fruit was delicious and cheap too. I only wish that it was the first place we visited instead of one of the last.

A great place to shop

By quadriders |

I came here looking for souvenirs to take home. There are lots of good things to buy and if you’re hungry there is food here too. Entrance fee is $0.50, I think 2 and under are free and parking is free. Bring your bags, water, and hat.

Fun and great prizes

By GRWLR51 |

Showed up at 7am and many were still setting up. Prices on items were way better than on the resort coasts. So many shops to choose from.
Must check it out

Use to be good, not so much anymore

By Saskheat |

We have gone here over the years usually for the fresh produce. Not so fresh anymore and no real deals on price. Wal-Mart is just as cheap and the food is fresher. WE bought broccoli that went bad 2 days later.

The quality and variety of the MERCHANTS has gone way down hill in the last couple of years. At least parking is still free and its onlt 50 cents to get in. Runs Sat/sun only from 7 am to 1pm and is at the Maui college parking lot.

Thanks for reading and if you found something useful in here please click helpful below. GODSPEED!

Swap Meet

By Brookebp |

I enjoyed the swap meet. We purchased a few souvenirs here and they did end up being a little cheaper than other places. We also booked another zip line excursion here. My husband and I were skeptical at first but Kevin really did save us, I want to say $60-$80.

Maui Swap Meet

By Ian S |

It was interesting but I wouldn't do it again. It was rows of vendors selling the same things with different prices. You can find lots of souvenir type things here and tons of clothes. There are lots of vendors, but we came away from there without buying anything.

Great Saturday morning adventure

By John S |

A fun flea/swap market. We went out of curiosity and found this a very nice Saturday morning adventure. A very good variety of vendors none which were overly aggressive but all were very helpful. Only one minor issue when I was trying to buy a shirt the vendor did not have credit card service available at that time. I passed on a nice vintage Hawaiian shirt.

Get there early

By Tim B |

There was a lot of local stuff that was good to look at and there was a lot of cheep souvenirs. It was a good event

Great stop for gifts and souvenirs.

By Eternal Wanderer |

This is a great place to do your souvenir shopping and get gifts for the loved ones you left back home. There are some really cool vendors here. We bought a wooden sea turtle here and the guy literally took less than 5 minutes to carve the islands of Hawaii on to its back. Beautiful artwork here. Cheaper prices here for sure.

Great prices

By Casey W |

Great prices and interesting find here at the seap meet! You can find almost anything offered on the island here at a fraction of the price. Save your souvenir shopping for swap meet day!

Interesting, fun activity.

By Kevin D |

We were in search of a specific piece of art and thought it was high time to check out the market. Easily access and plenty of signage to provide directions. Web page too is very helpful in times and directions. Plenty of parking; access into the venue is 50 cents. If it’s hot bring drink unless you are buying food and drink on site - cold drinks and coconuts are threaded in the fair. Plenty of clothing options, jewelry, art kieosks with fresh fruit and flower stands. Should you want the later best to go early. A fun way to spend some time. We spent one hour walking around, but you can spend as long as you want. You can get a stamp on your way out should you want to return that day.

A great mix of crafts, food and merchandise

By Soccerdan |

It has a great mix of crafts, food and merchandise. We found it to have much better prices than at brick and mortar stores. Parking is plentiful with some shade areas

What fun!!

By J J |

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Maui swap meet! Friendly vendors were selling a wide range of goods at varying price points. We love our banana bread and will return this week to visit more stalls. There are so many!!
I saw fabulous jewelry I couldn’t afford, ate delicious crepes, and bought some $1 junk that hasn’t lasted the week.

It got bigger

By D777Yasuoka |

there more vendors now since the last time I was there 2 years ago...a lot of locally made stuff and food and some produce we ended up trying the banana bread from Aunty Lia's and it was good we also got a coconut...make sure after you drink the coconut water you have them cut it open so you can eat the coconut fruit inside...we usually tip the guy a buck to get it open

Lots to see

By Jen P |

Good place to get souvenirs and meet local artists. It's very busy but the parking is done well and the line moves quick. Definitely worth the trip.

Fun place to wander on a Saturday morning.

By Sherri T |

We enjoyed the swap meet and were able to pick up some fruits and vegetables as well as some nice souvenirs. Many of the vendors are local and sell what they make. Purchased a nice ankle bracelet and necklace and chatted with the woman who made the jewelry. Of course you have the t-shirts and trinkets but its a good place to get all your gift shopping done.

Fun Saturday morning event

By Richard j |

Terrific weekly event with a great variety of options - everything from tourist trinkets to hand crafted works of art, Hawaiian style clothing to tasty treats.

Nice setting with West Maui Mountains backdrop.

A little tricky to find on the Maui campus of a local college, but just follow the signs, and the line of cars heading for the marketplace.

Plenty of parking (but perilously narrow spaces).

Great way to spend an hour or two. Modest 50 cent entry fee (children under 12 free).

Great place for reasonable prices.

By Jill B |

This is an amazing place to buy souvenirs for yourself or others. Several rows of vendors. The back rows are fresh produce, breads and coffee. Prices are good but check around before buying. I did find a difference in price for the same item. Also know that not all goods are made in Hawaii so ask. Cost is $.75 for admission. Go early on Saturday morning for the most options! Highly recommend!

Not just a swap meet ... a gathering place for many local artisans

By shemmy2 |

Whenever we come to Maui, we always make a Saturday morning trip to the Maui Swap Meet. A most notable trip to the Swap Meet was in January 2018 when everyone in the car received "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII!" alert. Nothing we could do but to continue on. Nothing so exciting during this trip. So, we did the usual ... pickup a large banana bread at Auntie Lia's, a Hapa shave ice at Maui Girls, and visit Javier at Aloha Raku Pottery. There are lots of the usual souveniers and aloha clothing at fantastic prices. However, there are a few unique artisan items to be found. And, seeking them out is part of the fun. During our week stay in Maui, we see many of the higher-end vendors at resort fairs and weekly craft fairs. This is a great place to pickup stuff for whatever reason!

Saturday morning shopping walk

By lwj |

The Maui Swap Meet is held on the campus of the University of Hawaii Maui College in Kahului on Saturday mornings.
There is a small entrance fee of 50 cents, but parking is free.
There are vendors who sell photos, collectibles, jewelry, art prints, baked goods, fruits, vegetables, fruit preserves and butters, t-shirts, hats, hand bags, luggage, wood creations, toys etc.
We often go for an hour just to check out the baked goods, fresh fruit and veggies.

Cool place with cool stuff.

By 8Zebra211 |

Thanks to TripAdvisor we were able to catch this on the one Saturday we happened to be in Maui. We got up early and got there a little bit after opening, parking fills up quick but it's never too far away to walk. The admission price is super cheap and there's lots of good shops and places to eat.

Pro tip... Don't eat breakfast before you come, lots of good stuff to fill your tummy with.

Excellent!

By Corinna A |

Lots of vendors & great food. If you're looking to shop local, this is the place to do it. Great prices & good variety.

Very hot but worth it!

By newmommie51905 |

We visited this place on our last day great place to find some unique gifts for yourself or to take home to family. I wish I would of went there the first Saturday I was there to get fresh fruits and veggies. They also have food trucks there.

I wish we had more time there!

By Linda |

We got there so late (trying to fit in a bunch of stuff on our trip), which was a bummer. This had so many vendors and these adorable 2 little girls singing with ukeleles, coffee truck, food stands, we haggled with everyone and got great deals! I wish we could have went here first so we didn't buy other stuff at other stores. This place was awesome!

Relaxed fun morning if shopping

By Renee G |

We saw so many beautiful, quality art pieces displayed by the local artisans. We enjoyed homemade breads and had a fabulous shaved ice treat 🍧. Everyone was very friendly. We had a great morning walking around and shopping. We bought most of our souvenirs here.

Definitely worth fitting in!

By Elljae08 |

Although we had been to Maui and number of times this was our first visit to the swap meet and we were not disappointed. A huge variety of vendors, everything from artistic T-shirts, beautiful jewelry, farmers stands, and eclectic food trucks. We spent a couple hours here and came away with some unique items and full tummies. What stood out so clearly was the friendliness of the vendors, they were warm and welcoming without being pushy to make a sale. We would definitely return and highly recommend it.

Mainly Maui artists

By k s |

I love to go every time I am in Maui. I like getting the fruit there and looking around. You can get $1 items that they sell elsewhere for $5-$7. Go early in summer. It gets hot and not a lot of shade.

Maui Swap Meet

By maryme1 |

We enjoyed going to this Swap Meet. It was close to where we were staying and we bought some items to take home for less money than if we had bought the same items at a retail store.

50 cents entrance fee - saturday's only - bring cash

By hockeyaw19 |

Full of shops of trinkets, clothes, fruit and food. The place is hopping - tons of people and vendors. Bring cash as most vendors don't accept card. The shaka pops are yummy, so were the lemonade and fresh fruits. Go here for some souvenirs for yourself and family. There's plenty of parking which is good - there's little shade which is bad so bring the sunscreen.

This swap meet is likely the one to visit when on Maui, but just so-so

By baileyno6 |

We've attended this swap meet over the years and have watched this morph into a bit of a touristy event. We've enjoyed the local art and local flavors in the past, but now it is pretty typical of a lot of swap meets you might attend anywhere. Even though it is a great value ($.50) I'm not sure we'd go back.

Maui Swap Meet

By Joyce k |

The deals were fairly good and the people as usual were friendly. We went in the afternoon so it was windy and they were closing up early.

See the guy that makes the genuine Maui hook necklaces!!

By Marla G |

Although some of the items are imported, there are many that are hand made locally, which we LOVED. There is a guy there that is like 3rd generation carver and his specialty pieces are AMAZING. I would pay the price and take home a treasure from him. We met him 3 years ago and our pieces gave us good luck and protection, I just know it! ;P DO NOT get your piece wet if it's made from the fossilized whale bone. He told us and we forgot. It became brittle when it was wet but it's fine now. Enjoy the Meet!!

Nice! Not "tourist-ty" .

By Scott W |

I expected more of the same old souvenirs. However, I saw pretty good stuff that I hadn't seen before!

Not a bad Saturday morning.

By Douglas S |

Fun time, go early before the heat. It took us about an hour and a half. So e good stuff, local artist but also some trinkets make in Vietnam. But it is what it is. Good cookies, so.e fresh fruit/vegetables.

Tourist trap but it’s good

By George G |

Price to get in .50 per person kids under certain age were free, if you are looking for used things didn’t really see any except for one guy, many local artists are there to sell there art which we bought, also many gifts to purchase, overall not a bad place to buy things.

Fun way to start a Saturday

By Hilda1828 |

Great way to start my souvenir buying! You can find t-shirts, trinkets, island wear etc at reasonable prices. There is a section for food and drinks which helped because it does get hot. After a week in Maui, we found the best shaved ice at this swap meet. The vendor sells it from a Volkswagon van and what makes it special is that she adds fruit to the juice and then freezes it. When it is shaved we got three kinds of fruit: pineapple, mango and papaya with the ice. It was the BEST shaved ice ever!! Take sun screen, umbrella and a shopping bag. The entrance fee is a steal and parking is free.

Don't Miss booth "Footprints in the Sand"

By oogramm |

If you want authentic Hawaiian jewelry, don't miss Footprints in the Sand at the swap meet. The artist and owner, Creighton Sato, finds genuine sea glass that has been smoothed over the years by the sea, not tumbled in some mechanical drum. He can tell you it's origins, whether Japanese floats, depression glass, or insulators from the 1800's. He takes the sea glass and fashions it into gorgeous earrings, necklaces, and bracelets with sterling, gold, or hand woven indestructible natural fibers. Everything I've purchased is in perfect condition and gets lots of compliments. For handcrafted work, his prices are awesome.

Fun morning at Maui Swap Meet

By Razorfish |

My wife and I visited Maui this past February before the pandemic hit the Islands. We attended the Maui Swap Meet one morning during our stay. It was fun walking around and looking at the vendors’ items. There were several locally made craft items. We spent about two hours strolling around the meet. I bought two vintage Hawaiian shirts and my wife found several things.

A great open air flea market

By TravelguruDanville |

Open only on Saturdays until early afternoon, with a decreasing entry fee (we usually spend a couple of hours towards the closing time for $1), the opportunities to Buy are many! From fruits and veggies, to clothes, great hats, and many jewelry stands (both nice stuff including sea glass jewelry to junk) you are sure to find something irresistible to purchase!

Super nice and great gifts

By Kimberly J |

Go here every visit to Maui. Very clean, great souvenirs and awesome Maui crafter items. Very unique. If you see something you want, get it then. Don't do like me and say I will get it the next week. Got an awesome hair comb first Saturday there...went back following Saturday and couldn't find them.

wonderful place to pick up gifts

By Kara H |

This was a wonderful bazar!!! Loved it there was art and clothes and jewelry!! We walked up and down the rows and got stuff for everyone one in our family and bought it mostly from the people who created it. Most of it was just so much cheaper then the malls or boardwalks.

Swap Meet - Go in early

By Rhea I |

We made a mistake going in around 10 am, I suggest to visit the right when it opens at 7am. BRING CASH. $1 entrance fee for adult, and 50 cents for kids. Again BRING CASH, many of the vendors only have cash in hand, very few will take card. I don't think I remember seeing any ATM machine nearby, but make sure you're handy with cash when shopping here. Bring your water just in case, but make sure to get sunscreen/hat on as much as possible

Always a favorite stop!

By ScubaDooba2 |

Both of our visits to Maui would not have been complete without heading over to Kahului for the Maui Swap Meet. In fact, we planned our last stay on the island so we would be there on Saturday. Each Saturday from 7am to 1pm, local merchants and artisans gather for the Maui Swap Meet. You will find just about everything there - beautifully carved vases, jewelry, fresh fruit and veggies, amazing large print photos of iconic Hawaii locations with colors that pop, various works of art and, of course, don't miss the shaved ice stand.

My favorite purchase on our most recent trip was a piece of artwork made by the sweetest lady you would ever meet. She explained how she made her canvas from the inner bark of a local tree which gives each piece its own uniqueness. Her drawings were of various animals - butterflies, owls, sea turtles, whales - each with their own individual design and intricate details. Love it!

great items and value

By W6708JVlarrys |

we spent hours at the market. found great food and fun. The coconut water guy was great fun found great deal on T shirts.

New/temp address

By Elaine |

The address on TripAdvisor is the original location but they are waiting until graduation is over so they can renovate the parking lot.

New and temporary address is 270 Dairy Road. Open Saturdays 8am-2pm.

Fun

By parkwife |

This is a fun thing to do on Maui if you are looking for good prices on produce or want to find the perfect crafty thing to take home to your house sitter. We spent about 1 1/2 hours there one Saturday during our stay on the island and had a good time. Don't expect swap meet stuff, though.

Best place for local vegetables

By golfinggrannie |

We were introduced to this Swap Meet last year by friends and is now at least a one time visit on our annual trip to Maui. Best selection and prices of local produce. Also good prices on any tourist gift items. For an entrance Fee of $.50 it is bargain entertainment as well.

Not the best experience

By Patricia S |

Have been twice now and most of the stands are selling junk made in China with fewer and fewer local artisans. Seems to be catering to the "tourist" crowd with the exception of farmers and locals selling fresh fruit and vegetables. That said, found some cute, locally made ornaments but I was very put off by the attitude of a woman selling "vintage" aloha shirts that were second-hand at best. No prices on any of the shirts and was given an outrageous price for a shirt that likely could be found in a second hand store in Kihei. Very rude and pushy. Definitely out to "scalp" the "dumb haole tourists." We found the farmer's market upcountry in Pukalani to be a better experience and the local and smaller farmer's market in Kihei held on Saturday was also fun and authentic with musicians performing. Won't be doing the Maui Swap Meet again.

Lots of memorabilia

By carolmK577FR |

Swap meets are places where people love to bargain. So the initial prices are not cheap as one might think. Here, you can find shells, Hawaiian shirts, crafts, small gifts or large— a plethora of items sold by various vendors under tents, rain or shine. We ought for kids and grandkids and were satisfied.

Nice swap meet

By JesseTaraAlyssaFromRI |

Nice place to find hand made items. Lots of Hawaiian crafts and great food options. We visit every time we come to Maui.

Great place to shop!

By Shauna |

So many amazing talented artisans to browse with something for everyone! Great location and venue and alot of quality handmade products.

Something for everyone

By Bonnie G |

Bring a big bag and lots of money because you'll find lots of treasures you will want to take with you.

Souvenirs and food that can't be purchased elsewhere.

By Carolyn T |

We love going to the Maui Swap meet! They have a variety of vendors. We have purchased souvenirs from several of them - some unique - some very well priced. Many Maui made art and other items sold by their creators. I always go to Aunty Lia's baked goods!!! Mouth watering... Delicious breads, brownies, Hawaiian toffee... There is also Shave ice, freshly made kettle corn, produce etc.

Maui Swap Meet

By Bonnie W |

When you go to Maui, you must keep Saturday morning open to rush to the swap meet. It goes from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. only and we have found, after attending about 10 times during our trips here, you won't get what you want by 8 a.m. if you go late.It still costs only 50 cents to go in but WOW!

The items are new, and the produce is fresh off the farms. Things like carvings, pottery, jewellery, every vegetable you know and some you won't, fresh fruit, floral bouquets that might cost as much as $10 and will outlast your vacation time, food kiosks, clothing, hats, bakeries (best one is called "Oh Goodies") etc. It is huge in size so be prepared to stay a while.

We have, over the years, bought a lot of pottery, blown glass and linens and are looking for more this time.

A Must Do!

This was so fun and a must!
Shopping was fun and very worth it! Found so many cute things - jewelry, artisan works, clothes, souvenirs and local food ! Wish we had something remotely close to that where we live ! Get there early because it does get crowded !

Buy Souvenirs Here

By Adventurer_Librarian |

You can get everything here: ukuleles, clothes, soaps, lotions, jam, etc. go early when they open. Most items made in Hawaii but check if you’re concerned. Saw some of the most unique jewelry and everyone there is super friendly. It’s also a Farmer’s Market so you can get produce and more food items. The Cuban coffee was great, much tastier than most coffee.

Family vacation

By FredLee64 |

This was my sister’s first visit to the islands. Whenever I come, the Swap Meet is a definite must do. The market provides the opportunity to buy gifts for family in one location, plus there are great places to eat, but local fruit and vegetables.

Fun people

God times, rich variety, good prices, lots of fun and good food.
IT was a great experience. Everyone in my family enjoyed it

Relaxing stroll through the Maui Swap meet!

By BookAFlight |

If you have 1 or 2 hours to spare on a Saturday morning, then head into Kahului and go to the Maui Swap meet. It runs from 7am to 1pm , has free parking and It costs 50 cents to get in and the place is brimming with local goods from clothing, jewelry, coffee, candles, soaps, artwork etc.
My husband and I really enjoyed checking out all the local vendors and chatting with people. We grabbed a $3 shaved ice and just strolled the rows of vendors.
There are a few stalls that sell fresh produce and fruits so we had to pick up a pineapple! The avocados are huge by the way!!
Got some great soaps, all handmade and chemical free. Bought a few other souvenirs then headed over to the other side of the college parking lot where there was a children's festival and a small car show.
Beautiful weather for a relaxing stroll through the grounds.

Had a good time

By Dayshifter |

We went on Saturday to the swap meet. Arrived around 10am. Took a few minutes to figure out parking. Had a handicapped person and they have all the spot orange cone-d off. They are not actual handicapped spots so it was a very tight fit and difficult for someone who needs to open the door all the way to get out.

There is a long ramp to get in but the have a rail. 50 cents a person and kids under 12 are free. Port a potties are on the back corners of the swap meet.

It was quite hot but we walked around a lot of booths. Lots of things to look at. Some repetitive. Some unique. We bought a few things. Bring cash. And something to carry them home in. And some water!

Why do they call it a Swap Meet???

By Bill H |

Very large flea market held each Sat on the grounds of the Maui Culture and Arts Center. Many, many booths open from 7 am to 1 pm. Hawaiian clothing, some as cheap as 7 shirts for $20. Artsy crafts, produce, food to eat, etc. Great place to get souvenirs, gifts, etc.
Tip: Get a shave ice from a booth called Maui Girls. Large shave ice for only $4. Cheap and refreshing. Lots of parking. Bring change for the 50 cent admission.

A must for Saturday mornings on Maui!

By Gatorgirl50 |

Great place for all things Maui! Lots of good prices and nice folks. Awesome ready to eat food and drink.

Need To Shop

By Greg A |

This flea market is easy to get to, has ample parking, and although the entry fee is a little cheeky, still a good idea to check out.

A fun place to spend your money

By Joyce P |

So many hand crafted items at this swap meet. A wide variety of fruits and vegetables. Our favorite vendor was the $1.00 vendor. Little children can buy bracelets and souvenirs and all sorts of trinkets. There are many choices for food. The French creoerie was very popular. The price is right at only. 50 cent entry to this great place. I didn’t want a $4 dollar Kettle Korn so the vendor gave me a $2 size. The selections for jewelry were fantastic he meet is at the local community college and parking is free.

Good local swap meet

By Freedom25897806731 |

Multiple vegetable stalls in the back with fresh local produce at great for Maui prices. Lots of crafts and souvenirs up front. Plenty of free parking. Good Saturday morning activity

Great deals on clothing and more.

By jckkmk5828 |

Great deal on a lot of different items, clothing, jewelry and more. Very relaxed way to browse a lot of vendors.

Great Prices on Souvenirs

By Kaye N |

This is a great place to go for souvenirs and treats. The entry fee is just 50 cents a person - a real bargain and what an entry fee should be for a swap meet! People are there to find bargains!

Parking was easy and free. Almost anything you find in higher end shops you can find there: magnets, purses, clothing, luggage, hats, masks, carved wooden items, jewelry and more. There were food trucks with shave ice and vendors selling coconuts. You drink the juice and some people throw the coconut away but go back and ask the seller to cut it open for you and eat the delicious coconut inside!

Make sure you wear sunscreen and take water. Wear a hat or take an umbrella. It doesn't feel hot but it is and you can get sunburned easily.

There are some good buys here...

By J Craig W |

As it was just before Christmas we thought the Maui Swap would be just the place to go. For fifty cents and free parking it is great deal. On can find everything from the typical wears to unique one of kind items. And not to worry about food as there are enough food stands plus the farmers market that one will not go hungry. Found a number of good presents. Will definitely visit the 'swap' next trip to the islands.

A fun way to spend a Saturday morning!

By arithecat |

It costs 50 cents a person and has for a long time. It is held on Saturdays. There is something for everyone but you have to be careful. Its not all made in Hawaii. I loved a beautiful long dress and was going to buy it until I asked where it was made. It was hand painted in Hawaii but not made there. We always support local artisans wherever we go. I bought a pair of earrings that belong to the Hana Collection from a local person. Very reasonable. There is clothing, soaps, body lotion, fruits, veggies, you name it they have it. Parking can be difficult but they have people to direct traffic. A fun way to spend a morning.

A must go! Save your money and spend it here.

By Lance C |

Everything you could want to find on Maui is here. 50 cents entry, easy parking, Cuban coffee, food stands, farmers market and everything in between.

Swap Meet

By Philip S |

This is probably your best chance at one stop shopping for all your gift needs. The prices are a little higher than you can find elsewhere, but the selection of different items is unmatched.

Maui farmers market was super fun!

By Marci D |

We went to the market on Saturday May 29, 2021 at the Dairy Street location. It was awesome! Not sure if it was bigger because it was Memorial Day weekend but we were really pleased with the amount of vendors and the choice of products. Great for souvenir shopping. Lots of “made on island” artisans including fresh coconuts, plants, and produce.

One-stop shopping on Maui!

By McD |

If you are free on Saturday morning (make a point of it!), this is a great place to pick up your souvenirs. We got there later in the day (had to snorkel early!), and some vendors were closing down a little earlier than the 1:00 time posted, but we were able to make it all the way around before closing. Some items were the same as we saw other places, but the prices were lower and there were lots of choices. There were a some specialty booths too, and lots of options for gifts or mementos for yourself.

Great place to get fresh Farm to Table fruits and vegetables.

By Georgine A |

You can even find T-shirt’s 7 for $20! Fresh flowers are truly fresh cut directly from growers. Fresh baked banana breads etc. Bargains!

Great deals on souvenirs

By Sheldon King |

This is the place to grab your cheap souvenirs to bring back home for friends and family. Everything from jewelry to clothes and other knick knacks.

Love the Maui Swap Meet

By traveling_with_kathy |

I first visited the swap meet a few years ago and loved it. So, a couple weeks ago I visited it again. This time my friends from Massachusetts vacationed with me and we all went. In fact, two of us went both Saturday mornings we loved it so much. Admission is .50 cents. It's so much fun to walk from vendor to vendor. Prices are super reasonable and we ended up buying most of our souvenirs, framed photos, bags, etc. here. They sell all sorts of things - banana bread, fresh fruits and vegetables, clothing, hats, baseball caps, island style home decor, jewelry, hot food, fresh juices, on-site massage, pet accessories, cloth bags & aprons, etc.

Highly recommend. Go early in the morning to beat the heat. Hours: 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 or 1:00 P.M.

So good we almost went twice

By Daryl H |

Not a traditional place to spend vacation time but we enjoyed it. A very large venue and super friendly vendors, there are gifts, treats, food and art there.

So many cool things to see!!

By Kathy W |

We really enjoyed visiting the Maui swap meet--and its a pretty good sized one. There are so many talented vendors there displaying and selling their creations. I wish there had been a mid price range--while I won't pay a $100 for a necklace I would pay $50 but it seemed to be imported junk or higher priced handmade jewelry. They had several local farmers selling produce and a few food vendors selling things such as shave ice. All in all a nice market to visit and spend a few hours at!!

Good shopping.

By 541mark |

There are enough venders that you can spend a couple hours browsing the stalls. Lots of good food too.

Great stop for souvenirs and snacks

By Steve |

There are plenty of tents with great & affordable souvenirs, food, jams & jellies, fruit, dips, etc. We probably spent about 1-2 hours here. This is much better than the Aloha Swap Meet in Oahu, so get your stuff here!

Fun, Informative & Value Shopping!

By BvR |

My wife and I went to swap meets in Azusa, CA, Huntington Beach, CA, etc. during our undergrad studies and always enjoyed it. This "Maui swap meet" was a lot of fun as we reminisced about our swap meet adventures in school. The swap meet is pretty large but there are great options for food, shave ice and shopping. You can find some good deals on gifts for mainland family and friends too! Well worth a visit if your time allows.

Great stop for souvenirs

By WanderingWoman75 |

During our vacation, we venture to the Maui swap meet to shop for souvenirs. We were able to find a lot of cool handmade items to take back to family and friends. There are commercials stores there as well with t-shirts, key chains, and things of that nature.

Parking is free and plentiful, and it only costs $0.50 to enter the market. There are also several good food vendors to chose from.

Depending on your schedule, I recommend conducting an initial walk-through of the entire market just to survey what/who is there and price compare. Then you can go back to specific booths to make purchases.

Lots of fun and ubnique finds

By Scott W |

Some good local artists and some very unique items we were able to find.

Not too crowded, just the right size. Loved the experience!

Nice market

By Anne1617 |

This is a really nice market with good food options and lot of other stuff including fruits and vegetables. Come early when it is colder.

NEVER MISS IT!

By charleneridge2018 |

When on Maui I never miss the swap meet. A great chance to buy some great items and sample the great food! My friends and I always have a great time at the sway meet!

Hot deals hot day

By brickhouse64 |

So humid but in spite of the heat vendors were fair and the shaved ice cooling.

I felt bad for some vendors as there were some very aggressive ladies that felt they needed to bargain hard in spite of the already good price. Unbelievable.

But t worth the visit if you have some souvenir shopping to do. Not a huge amount of high end items.

Trinkets

By Berries1 |

We walked around and bought some trinkets and shaved ice. It was a nice distraction from the big box stores that wife drug me to.

A fun Saturday morning event

By Travelsak |

A vast array of all things Maui for the tourist. Interesting merchandise, a good variety, not junky. Well organized rows and booths. Appears to be juried.
Picked up some nice clothing, as well as artwork and gifts.

Lots of selection!

By Jeannie C |

Went here years ago and then returned again in December And did not disappoint. There is tons of different things to look at and for the most part good quality items at a good price.

fun experience

By LISA S |

Having been to the Honolulu swap meet, this is much smaller. However, it is very inexpensive to get in, and has a nice variety of things to look at from clothing to jewelry to art to food. It took us just over an hour to go through and we each found several things to purchase. A rainy morning well spent.

No better place to shop in Maui

By thejadetiki |

Only open from 7-1 on Saturdays this is by far the best place for locals or tourists to shop. Most vendors are shop owners or artists, so why pay the price for their brick n mortarts when you can store fronts as they pass the savings on to you. From the many fresh produce stands to fine art n jewelry make it a point to get up on Saturday morning and go shopping !! You will feel good about saving money and supporting the people who live here !!!!!!!!!

Fun time

By Lynwanne |

So much fun to go to you name it. You can find it there. Food clothing flowers trinkets ornaments.
Saturday morning

Great Saturday Activity

By SoaringEagle78634 |

There's a "Dollar Dollar" stall..great gadgets for gifts. Don't forget to bring your sunscreen and some water..it gets hot. There's some pushy peddlers..one stall tried to force me to buy on the spot. A lot of repetitive items throughout. Towards the back there's a lot more "local made" items.

Very Interesting with goodfinds

By dreamylemon |

We visited Maui for 2 weeks and I am so glad we went to the Market. It was at the begging of our holiday and we didn't buy many things thinking we will find better things elsewhere. However even though we did they were very spreaded out In different villages, different shops. and more expensive. Try the Banana bread plus some hand made souvenirs. The fruits are on a such a great deal - if you are looking at buying some small things - go for it - you wont regret it. In the far right corner there is a small antique stand and Cuban coffee - dont miss them out. We regretted not spending more time and buying more things.

Searching for souveniers

By plineck |

Great finds at this swap meet. Great prices! Outdoor swap meet. Weather turned out to be perfect while shopping. Very friendly.

Only in Hawaii

By William S |

This is the second swap meet my wife and I have been to. The first one was on Oahu. Selection from vendors are outstanding. Prices are fair. Most products are of good quality. Vendors are friendly. Food wagons offer limited selection of food. We are very satisfied with clothing, ukulele, jewelry, coffee, fruit/vegetables and food. Parking was free. Entry fee was only $0.50. We had just enough time to see everything in a4 hours. Hours are 7-1:00.

Fun morning excursion

By DanaAU |

I visited the swap meet on my own while visiting Maui and really enjoyed the time there. I took my time and saw everything in about 2 1/2 hours. Lots of different vendors, from typical touristy stuff to fruits and vegetables to local artisans. I was able to get some great souvenirs. The vendors were all very friendly. Not too many food vendors but there were a few.

Maui swap meet

By Leslie C |

Found the dried coconut man at swap meet. Made my vacation. All vendors friendly.🌞🌴🍍😎 I was so happy he gave me end of day special.

Average flea market

By Karen M |

Went to the Maui Flea market with great expectations. Nothing really stood out. Alot of jewelry, tee shirts-things that you see everywhere.

Fun way to spend a Saturday morning

By C F |

We really liked the swap meet here, checking out all the arts and crafts and getting unique Maui souvenirs. Food and produce prices are very good also.

Swap meet

By Shawn M |

We go to this swap meet at least once every trip. We meet some great vendors and always buy some great, original purchases.

Swap meet was a good way to spend Saturday morning

By Razorfish |

My wife and I went by the Maui Swap Meet on the Saturday morning of our visit in February. There must have been about a hundred vendors at the meet. We spent almost two and a half hours looking around. I bought a vintage Hawaiian shirt and my wife got some jewelry and gifts for our grandsons. It was a fun way to spend a Saturday morning.

Found some souvenirs that were cheaper

By robininfresno |

It's a smaller size swap meet. They had lots of Hawaiian jewelry and shirts. The prices are cheaper but not a ton to choose from.

Lovely market

By Shirlching |

Really lovely market with lots of variety. Great place to buy your souvenirs and presents. Wish I had got there earlier. Can easily spend a couple of hours browsing.

Great selection of souvenirs, average prices

By Jud G |

We were given a heads up about the Maui swap meet by a local and we were excited to check it out. When we got there, there were an enormous amount of vendors selling primarily tourist type items, which isn’t a bad thing.

Although there are a few unique vendors, for the most part, you end up seeing the same thing over and over again.

Prices weren’t as inexpensive as we had hoped they would be. In fact, you can find cheaper prices on T-shirts and other tourist type items on other parts of Maui. The location is well organized and clean, as well as parking is a breeze.

A great place to check out!

Great All In One Local Market

By Chandra R |

We really enjoyed this market and appreciated the good amount of local artists and artisans which seemed to outnumber the generic more touristy booths. It was perfect to grab some fresh produce and stock up on gifts to bring back home.

Fabulous!

By Nicole S |

Conveniently located right across the street from the shopping mall in Kahului at the University of Hawaii Maui College. They have souvenir shops, hand crafted jewelries, food and drinks. You can find fruit and vegetables here too! It's open every Saturday. Highly recommend it!

amazing selection of vendors

By Norm189 |

Anything and everything you could be looking for during your vacation. great souvenirs. great prices. very friendly staff.

Worth a looksie

By DEBORAH A |

We found lots of items we were looking for at good prices. 3-5 bucks cheaper than down town. There were a lot of the same things but also a few unique items.

Just do it!!

By italianmoabite |

This was great. Spent 2 hours , got some amazing produce, great crafts, good food and got to see a lot of what the island has to offer at a great price. Would definitely return!

This is a market, not a swap meet.

By Jo W |

The sign says “Swap Meet” but it is not. It is a regular craft and food market. It is quite large with a wide selection of stalls, and there are bargains to be had. You can get “Just Maui’d” signs for your house or car, West Indian samosas, fresh pineapples or other fruit, wooden and ceramic crafts, and just about anything else. Worth a visit for a couple of hours. Plenty of parking.

Best On maui

By john19502013 |

This swap meet I would consider very good repetitive in its wares however good prices for Maui. You can get a sample of just about anything there from shaved Ice to Sun dresses at average to good prices. You will also find items that are over priced as usual and you must be a very wary shopper and not buy the first sample of something u see. Do the whole swap then go back through again to buy the bargains.

Crepes on Wheels

By mflaum |

Really wonderful crepes at the Maui Swap Meet!! I would highly recommend that you head to the food cart near the back of the swap meet and have a sweet or savory crepe made be a most charming Frenchman. He was a joy to chat with and his crepes are as good as in France. I had the mushroom, spinach, veggies and mozzarella crepe and my husband had the special crepe of the day. We both LOVED our crepes.

Aunty Lia’s Baked Goods

By smaven |

Aunty Lia's shop is one good reason to visit the Swap Meet. Lilikoi, lime, coconut and mango breads are awesome. The best part is that of all the stuff I tried so far, none gets lower than 4 stars. She claims to use only butter and no oils for baking these delicious breads. Go early as some varieties get sold out well before the closing time.

Saturday Morning Shopping

By KennethRosal |

Great place to spend a Saturday morning. Lots of variety of vendors. Lots of fresh Vegetable and Fruit vendors. We really like looking at all the Wood Carvers work! Maui has some amazing artists. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Busy

By etfriesen |

The swap meet has something for everyone. Very busy place, must get there early for a parking spot but there is a huge parking lot. So much to see, eat, and buy. While there are a lot of shops with the usual touristy stuff, trinkets and such, you can find some beautiful, well made crafts and clothing here. We stayed for two hours and when we left we realized we had only gone through half of the meet. Will go back again.

Surprisingly good variety of Hawaiian stuff

By MontTexas |

Anyone who has been to Oahu has probably gone to the Aloha Stadium swap meet at some point. This is not anywhere as big or expansive, but if you’re only going to be on Maui, this is your best spot to get gifts and souvenirs for low prices. Especially good for kids, look for a vendor usually located at the end of the center aisle toward the university, where everything is $1 apiece or 6 for $5.

great experience!

By Cindy B |

Same as others have said. BRING WATER, WEAR SUNSCREEN,BRING A BAG, AND HAVE CASH we had to buy all of that there, and it was super hot but we enjoyed it very much.

Disappointed

By Mel C |

It's been over 5 years that I've been back home on Maui and was disappointed not able to find the Filipino desserts that I was accustom to when I lived here. There was lots of other junk foods around. But was looking forward to all my favorite Filipino desserts 😵

Closed due to Covid.

By Hebersteve |

Visited Maui Jan, 2021. Swap meet closed due to Covid. There are other smaller farmer’s markets with arts and crafts around which are open. We went to one near black rock. It had around 20 booths.

It’s open on saturdays

By James N |

Swap meet is open here. It is on Saturdays from 8:00am-2:00pm. It is smaller than the original, but some great local crafts.

Good

By Lawrence T |

Some really good island made stuff. Just about everything here. Cost 75 cents a person. Some barter, most don't.

Gems... if you look for them

By juliekfunfar |

Be prepared for the heat... as there isn’t much of a break from it. Many great shops with local artisans... but a lot of t-shirts and mass produced tourist junk too. Be prepared to spend a little time to find the treasures. Entrance fee: 50 cents

The best place to get your souvenirs

By Karee B |

We've been twice to this swap meet and it's the best place to get all your souvenirs. Be warned though, it gets HOT, so go as early as you can!

Great prices without having to shop around!

By 4theloveoftravel808 |

All you could ask for in one place! You know your getting the best price and there are choices galore. Everything from veggies, to jewelry, soaps, and T-shirt’s with prices reasonable and at every price point. The empanada is just ok….it used to be much better so be prepared if you’ve ordered them in the past. The best is the shaved ice. OMG….. delicious and so reasonably priced”…. Definitely a must have. So if you don’t want to spend your vacation shopping, simply spend a few hours at the swap meet and get it done in a morning.

Worth the trip

By Linda S |

Considerably less expensive merchandise than the retail stores. Only costs 75 cents for entry. Everything from very inexpensive items to expensive artwork & jewelry. Lots of clothing & jewelry & a variety of other items. Well worth the trip if you enjoy shopping & like a bargain. There is a smaller version in Lahaina on Sundays at Lahaina Gateway across from the Canery Mall.
There is also a much smaller version at Napili on Wed & Sat. I hear there is also one in Kihei but I have never been. All that I have been to are specific days, begin early & are generally over by around noon so be sure to check the days & times. Parking was never a problem at any location.

What a hoot!

By Peg C |

We love shopping on Saturdays at the Maui Swap Meet. There are items in every price range. You can buy a mango from a farmer or a beautiful piece of art. $20 for 7 tee shirts, handmade quilts and placemats, jewelry galore, soaps and lotions, soft dresses and coverups, We have paintings from local artists throughout our home. They are more affordable there than in shops. I have purchased so many gifts for family and friends. The food vendors offer a wide variety of choices that mostly reflect the local cuisine. Most everything is created by the vendors and they are happy to talk about how they make them. Wear comfortable clothing, footwear, and a hat. Bet you can’t get through the entire meet!

Don't miss it

By Stef B |

Great place to get produce and finish up your souvenir shopping. The vintage items were especially interesting and the food trucks are good too.

Highly recommended.

By 989emmettm |

There are many vendors with a wide variety of items. Many growers of produce at prices well below store
prices. This is a must do on Saturday mornings when we are at Maui. It was our impression that the ones
shopping and buying the most were locals, which speaks well of the swap meet. Free parking on a nice
paved lot, and only 50 cent admission!

Great shopping

By FairwayFound |

This is a local venders and retail swap meet. If you are getting souvenirs, this is the place. There is something for everybody and lots of food.

Saturday adventure

By Dan A |

Then go to the swap meet to Saturdays in a row. Just a fun place with a lot of nice people a lot of nice items to choose from. Both days were nice days and we are really enjoyed the walk.

Rainy day exploring

By Craig J |

Our first Saturday in Maui, and it’s raining, so we decided to check out the swap meet, and it was a great way to get out and see things. Crafts and souvenirs aplenty, at better prices than the downtown shops.
Strongly suggest trying the food,we had really good empanadas, samosas, and THE BEST Hawaiian ice - wow!!

The people were friendly and parking was easy. Definitely glad we went.

Great place for souvenirs and snacks

By Navyguyo6 |

Thoroughly enjoyed walking the booths of the flea market to find both souvenirs and unique items from Maui. Lots of fun places to try a snack, from Manassas to coconuts.

A delightful craft, souvenir, fresh food market.

By Jenni8774 |

This is a lovely market. Lots of interesting stalls selling a variety of different products. It’s a good place to pick up a souvenir or to. Prices are reasonable. Lots of artisan products. Reminds me of the Port Douglas markets.

Bring a hat as there is limited shade.

Stroll through first to get a lay of the land as there are stalls selling similar products. Lots of jewelry, t shirts and souvenir shops.

A few stalls sell food and drink.

It’s friendly and a nice way to spend a Saturday morning.

Swap Meet

By Laura L |

The Maui Swap meet was a fantastic way to spend a Saturday morning. All the vendors have such high quality items, great place to find that special item as a memory of such a beautiful island and to grab lunch. I was happy to see quite a few Vegan options for food.

Something for everyone!

By OhSugarrush |

My husband I had a great time here looking for souvenirs. Its conveniently located and easy to find in the city of Kahului in the parking lot of Maui Community College. Here, we found everything from vintage Aloha shirts and blown glass to handmade jewelry and organic produce. We had fun talking to the vendors and looking at all they had to offer. We highly recommend and will be sure to go again next year! Its awesome!

Maui is my favorite island.

By Amy M |

take your time

By Gabe M |

great place and we only payed a dollar for the two of us to get it. take your time at each booth and admire the work of the local artist. there's lots of excellent food choices and local produce aswell.

Best cinnamon bread and tshirts.

By Rraye |

We love the bakery goods from Oh Goodies and the Akaus have the highest quality t shirts and sweatshirts. Aumakua Designs, wonderful people and quality merchandise.

Always fresh produce!

By Susan M |

This is the place to find all your veggies and fruits, beautiful flowers and tasty breads!
Also, if you’re looking for something fun or handmade to take home from your vacation or give as a gift, there are many choices as well as the usual street fair crap.
You can find some very nice jewelry, handcrafted wood items, clothing and art.
There’s plenty of parking and the cost is .50 each. Go early for the best selection and don’t be afraid to try the unusual or unfamiliar fruits!
Handicap friendly.

Swap meet

By SHERRYJET |

Open every Sat at community college. Good place to go at the beginning of your trip. Great place to get fresh fruit vegetables at a reasonable price and gifts to take home

Great for Hawaiian gifts

By andywms6725 |

Great place to buy local gifts and souvenirs. Supports the local economy. Nice jewelry and clothes. Not the junk you find at a lot of markets like this.

Swap meet

By Susan G |

A must for shopping while in Oahu. Great deals for local souvenirs. Open Monday, Wednesday Saturday.

Nice flea market

By mdal0mba |

It only costs 50 cents to get in the swap meet. Its every other Saturday, we were there in August. Lots of vendors with souvenirs. Lots of clothing and hats.
Some beautiful paintings.

Great for Souvenirs

By monica-grace |

This was a great stop for buying souvenirs, hand made jewelry, fresh flowers and produce. To me it was more craft show and farmers market combined than a swap meet. Very reasonable prices, free parking and lots of it and only 50 cents to enter. It was well worth the drive after breakfast.

Enjoy local flavor

By Susan J |

Few tips for newbies -

1) It costs 75 cents per person to enter.
2) Get there early & find a shady spot for your car.
3) Bring a hat & sunscreen.
4) Bring ice water with you. You'll thank me later.
5) Bring a little cash, but most vendors accept cards or Venmo-type cash payments.
6) Bring a bag with you for your purchases.
7) There are a few portable bathrooms available in the back corners of the swap meet.
8) There are plenty of souvenirs to buy - magnets, Keychains, t-shirts, stained glass, resin art, handmade jewelry of varying types, carved wood bowls & decor, carved bone necklaces, fresh fruit & vegetables, flowers, paintings & photos, etc. There's plenty of options with 100+ vendors available.

Enjoy! Mahalo!

Great Swap Meet Sat morning 7am to 1pm

By jdglek |

Save all your souvenir shopping for the Swap Meet. Everything is here that you need except for gummy pineapple. Get those at Walmart. Jewelry, Hawaiian shirts, coffee & tea, veggies and fruit, oils, creams, all can be had here for a fraction of the price. You can bargain based on quantity. It costs .75 to get in. A steal compared to other venues. This Swap Meet has been here so long, it shows up on the University site map. Go early, park under the shade as it gets hot.

Finally

By PS6455 |

I've been to twice before but was unable to go to the Swap Meet because my flight home left too early. This year I made it and wasn't disappointed.
The swap meet is the place to go for souvenirs. The prices are lower than the tourist shops and they have some unique items you won't find other places.
It is small and can be done in a few hours. Also vendors inventory can be limited so for best selection get there early. Hours Saturday 7:30am-1:00pm.

A Must-Stop If Buying Souvenirs!

This is the place to shop for souvenirs on Maui! Most of the vendors are local, from jewelry, clothing, arts & crafts, to fresh food & produce, including plants! My 6-year old grandson wanted me to bring him a Bonsai Tree in a lava rock for his souvenir from Maui & I bought found one here! They packaged it right there for me for travel, including instructions & certification to get through airport security. It survived a week at Maui & the airplane ride & my grandson was absolutely thrilled! Got some great buys & enjoyed the rows & rows of booths! The locals are so friendly & fun to talk to! Go early in the morning (opens at 7 a.m.) so much cooler & the crowd gets larger as the day goes on. Don't worry about food & drinks, there's plenty to buy there, & reasonable prices too!

Best Place for Fresh Vegetables

By Mark M |

My weekly stop on Saturday morning for farm fresh vegetables and half the costs of the grocery stores.

Must do on Saturday morning!

By Jenee O |

Must do on Saturday morning! Loved walking and checking out all the booths setup. Got so many souvenirs to bring home to family and friends. The coconut macaroons are to die for! Bought a beach bag, shirts, masks, macaroons, coconut candy and more!

Swap market

By Michelle T |

It was worth a stop. Not as big or as nice as the one on Oahu but happy we went. Everyone found something and the prices were either the same or better than you could find at the shops in town. For $0.50 a person over 12 years old, happy we went.

I love Hawaiian swap meets

By kolohe280 |

This is a great place to go for fresh produce and souvenirs. There's a nice assortment of stuff, and some of the craft work is very high quality. We picked up some nice things at reasonable prices.

Some advice. Get there early. If you do, you can get covered parking. Wear sunscreen. Be prepared for heat - it gets hot. And most important, have fun!

Lots of shopping

By Monty D |

from a variety of vendors. Low - Midrange jewelry direct from the makers, T-shirts, purses and bags made on Maui, ceramics, art, used aloha shirts, its all here at good prices.

From Fresh Produce to T-Shirts

By Pathfinder476103 |

Maui Swap Meet is a great location to purchase island fresh produce, craft items, island clothing and other island inspired items. Get there early as the swap meet is very popular.

good way to spend a few hours...

By stantsy |

-just came back from my fifth time in Maui. As always it was enjoyed but every time I am looking for maybe some new things to do.
-this year I found the swap meet.
-went on a Saturday, it is only 50 cents to get in which is of course quite reasonable. I would probably still go if it was $5.00 to get in but I will take the 50 cents entry fee.
-it is your standard swap meet, flea market kind of place, there are food stands, people selling you name it, it is probably there.
-depending on your spending limit or what you are interested in buying and I was mostly just browsing around I won't lie to you the stuff isn't large priced and ticketed items.
-there are some high items there but mostly enjoy the exercise walking around and everyone was nice, all the vendors etc, I honestly thought they would haggle a little bit as I did buy a few items and tried to haggle a little but it didn't work which was fine.
-anyway, not a bad way to spend in Maui for a morning, afternoon and cheap which is also nice.
-lots of free parking
-great for wheelchairs accessibility with wide paths etc to wander the swap meet.
-sorry, no photos
-aloha

Meh, no comparison to Honolulu Flea.

By Elizabeth H |

This is not so much a swamp meet, but more of a place where artisans meet to sell their wares. We expected something more along the lines of the Honolulu swap meet. While there were a few discount items, most things were pretty pricey as they were created by a local artist.

Souvenir quality clothes, jewelry, etc.

By M W |

Primarily clothes, T-shirts, very inexpensive costume jewelry. Had hoped to see more artisans. There were only two hand carved tiki statue carvers on 7/13/19. There were quite a few local fruit and vegetable vendors. Two or three vendors selling local area high resolution photos on metal plates and a few selling tropical flower scented candles. Vendors set up pop up tents and there is very little shade walking down the aisles. Free parking and 50 cent admission per person.

Always a fun trip on Saturday Mornings

By OrangeBlack28 |

One of those "must stops" on a Saturday morning when in Maui. A wapping .50 to get in, free parking and we always find something I can't live without.

Fun way to spend a few hours

By Emalee D |

Spent a few hours here during our honeymoon and enjoyed ourselves. Luckily the weather was perfect the day we were here. Some of the shops are repetitive and a few of the sales people are hard to get away from but overall had a great time and walked away with some cool gifts for folks. Definitely recommending visiting the "empanada lady's" tent and grabbing a fresh coconut! Maui metal works sells some really pretty handmade decor for very reasonably prices. I REALLY loved the plant stands at this place but was afraid of not people able to bring them back home or keep them intact if I did. Our travel agent Tara Branch purchased "the local girl's guide to maui" for us and that's how we found out about the swap meet!

So much to see!

By themontanatravelgirl |

Sure huge. Tons of booths. Lots of different items to choose from. Bargains. High end. I would say it is a definite don’t miss.

Best on Maui

By vickielytton |

Best one on Maui. Don’t miss it. The vendors are unique and friendly. Be sure to go early for the best deals.

Maui Swap meet

By OnAir552697 |

Very nice place to shop have lots to look at and veg's to buy from local farmers lots of soveneirs to take home to relatives great place Mahalo

Fun!

By NatbugK |

This was a big craft fair with local produce and food booths. The prices are better than the Wailea shopping center. The admittance cost is .50 and there is a lot of parking and wow what a backdrop to the Maui mountains!

Great way to spend Saturday morning

By Shirley J |

There is probably something for everyone here. I loved the variety from cheap Chinese jewelry that says "Hawaii" on it to hand-made one-of-a kind jewelry. There were sufficient food vendors and beautiful fresh Hawaiian-grown fruits and veggies. I even got a few good laughs from what I believe to be outright charlatans. This is a great place to look for your souvenirs and original artwork. I'd come here again if in Maui.

Our day at Maui Swap Meet

By jec4289 |

We spent several hours roaming the Maui swap meet. We were able to score some great buys and chat with so many interesting people. We actually considered going back a second time and would have if our time on Maui had not been so limited

Fun and Friendly Vendors

By ryno24 |

A fun thing to do on a Saturday morning. Recommend getting there early; no later than 8 AM as it gets crazy busy on a nice day. Variety of vendors, lots of food and beverages as well on the far left as you come in.

Surprisingly good

By Colleen N |

We have visited numerous swap meets in our travels and know that the quality can vary widely. We were pleasantly surprised to find a wide range of vendors here with goods of all kinds. There are a number of produce vendors in the back row, good vendors are scattered throughout and the quality of the merchandise being offered ranges from inexpensive tchotches to ridiculously expensive. I did find some small pottery pieces here at less than half the price being asked at some of the other shops in the tourist areas .

Great way to spend part of a day!

By chesterjibowitz |

So glad we went! We and our three teens spent part of a morning here and all enjoyed it. There are all kinds of stands. From vintage-style prints and license plates to produce and handicrafts, carvings and jewelry. Lots of t-shirts, hats, etc., if you want to pay less than you may see in some of the shops around the island. Also, there were some places serving food like coffee, plate lunches, manapuas, samosas, etc. Many merchants take cards, but I don’t know that *all* of them do. Free parking. 50¢ entry fee per person; get a hand stamp if you want to exit and return later.

Old fashioned swap meet.

By mwbudd |

This is another one of those things that are always on my traveler To Do List but somehow I've just not been able to get to on Saturday mornings. Prior to this island visit I was reading up on the Swap Meet and ran across some of the food offerings. Most importantly, The Empanada Lady. This is a relatively new business in Wailuku but she is also present at the Saturday Swap Meet. There were many stalls selling arts and crafts, homemade jewelry, local fresh fruit and veggies, and food. It's open from 7am to 1PM every Saturday and just to warn you, once the food vendors sell out, they go home. A great place to stop in if you are looking for a bargain.

Not What we Hoped

By Zach |

The swap meet has been moved to a temporary address in a parking lot. There weren’t too many vendors and overall there were very few items that felt unique or made locally on the island. We ended up buying a candle and a t-shirt but were hard pressed to find anything noteworthy.

GT

By dopebbq |

Great place to grab some local made products. Check out dope bbq for breakfast, brunch, lunch, they got it all.

Best place to shop on island!

By TravelingDevils |

I’m a big time shopper and I give this the highest rating! Here’s where you’ll find crafts by local artists and some unique souvenirs. The best graphics t shirts are abundant. Also if you like the inexpensive little knick knacks they have it all. You can find gifts for everyone here. They also have lunch places and farmers market for fresh vegetables and fruit. Been here 2 trips.

Swap Meet

By David |

I was excited when I learned that this would be going on while we were on the island. I even rearranged my schedule to make sure we didn’t miss it.

It was good....not exactly what I thought it would be, but it did kill a couple of hours on Saturday morning.

The shops were so-so.....a few really interesting booths to look at and then a whole lot of booths that were selling pretty much the same items over and over.

I did find a couple of trinkets, but the best thing at the swap meet was the FOOD!!! Food truck food and the booths....we tried it all!!! Yummy!!!!

Great for souveniers and produce

By BlueWater51 |

Great, well-priced produce and lots of souvenirs, clothing, and gifts. Go early when it's cool, but if you go later after 10, dress light and wear sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat. Open only Saturday mornings, so if you're on Maui for only a week, plan for it!

Swap meet Louie.

By Steve Terry |

The swap meet on Maui is a favourite destination of ours every time we go to Maui, which is usually once every year. They have a good variety of stuff and you can find some good deals on that touristy stuff to bring back to friends and family. The vendors are great and the prices are usually pretty reasonable.

Fresh veggies, fruits, baked goods, gifts, jewelry...

By lwj |

The Maui Swap Meet is held on Saturdays on the Maui Campus of the University of Hawaii in Kahului. Entrance fee to the swap meet is $ .50 per person but parking is free.
At the swap meet you will find baked goods, fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, women’s and men’s clothing, hats, tropical jams, jellies, butters & syrups, photographs, pottery, works of art, jewelry & souvenirs.
There are people who will give you a massage or align you chakra.
There are also food vendors if you missed breakfast or get hungry.
The swap meet can be good for a 30 minute visit or a longer discovery visit of 2 hours or more.

Good Variety

By NWGirl |

The entry fee to the market is 50¢. Parking is free. There are all types of Maui/Hawaii souvenirs; tee shirts from infant to 4X, Hawaiian shirts, dresses, aprons, beach coverups, beach bags, Christmas ornaments, plus essential oils, sea glass jewelry, photography wall art, candles, Baltic Amber jewelry, food stands: shucked coconut, lemonade, crepes, empanadas, fresh fruit and produce, fresh flowers, you can even get a massage! Open on Saturday’s until 1pm. Wear a hat and bring some water. Oh you forgot, no problem! You can buy them there!

First time to Maui Swap Meet

By traveling_with_kathy |

We’ve been to Maui many times, but never went to the swap meet. It opens early 7:00 am Saturday mornings. There’s a wide variety of vendors selling fresh fruits and vegetables, tropical flowers, all sorts of jewelry, clothes, hats, photographs, ceramics and more. Plenty of food vendors, my favorite was the fresh banana bread! All prices seemed really reasonable.

Fun laid back morning to sample foods

By ajohn221 |

This is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning if the weather is well. Lots of fun products and a great sample of foods to try. If the weather is good I would definitely try this out! Cost is $2 to get in.

Super fun, & worth your 50 cents!

By Donna D |

$0.50 cent entry; free parking at the college. Replay good variety...actually had a lot of local vendors...not just cheap imports. Great place to get your souvenirs. I bought 7 tees for $20...& they were printed on Hanes...so not total junk.

Food trucks too. Not as big as the Honolulu swap...but big enough.

Did I mention the price to get in is only .50 cents ?

By Mauilani2019 |

Our Maui Swap Meet has evolved into a must do if you are on Maui. I like the fresh fruit and veggies sellers. But what is great for tourists is the combination of Hawaiian artists showing off their new creative endeavors and the Hawaiianish booths that also dot the Maui Swap meet landscape. I once came across an ugly donut booth. Best donut I ever ate. No two booths are a like. Some only come 2 Saturdays out of 4 in a month so if you see something you like BUY IT! It may not be there next Saturday. The prices vary on everything from Hats to t-shirts. If you have time go around once before you purchase just to get the lay of the land. I also discovered at least 2 massage chair booths as I walked around and their prices are reasonable . (Do not forget to tip)

Did I mention the price to get in? .50 cents. Opens at 7am til about 1pm

Something for Everyone

By Langley4 |

Every Saturday from 7-1. A wide variety of vendors. Good prices. A great place to do your souvenir shopping.

Depends on What You’re Looking For

By Slmars1338 |

If you are looking for cheap souvenirs or a Hawaiian dress to wear to a luau, you’ll do better at the Oahu Swap Meet. If you are looking for works of art made on Maui by Maui artists, this is your spot. The artists create one of a kind pieces and usually have a website in case you want to ship it instead. Buy souvenirs in Oahu for your friends; save Maui for yourself. Easy to find via GPS, plenty of parking - some shaded, and worth the stop no matter the reason. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because many of the vendors were breaking down and leaving at 12.

Perfect for local crafts

By Jreed0123 |

We loved it here! It was pouring most of the time and everyone had tents for their stuff! This is the type of stuff you don’t find in the malls!

Everything for yourself or a gift for a friend

By Tina J |

Parking is not the best, but this is huge so wear your comfy shoes. If you like to shop and get some bargains then this is the place. They have food to eat, and buy. T-shirts, jewelry, carvings, just about anything you can think of.

Huge Swap Meet, ETC.

By Martin C |

This is a must visit event in Kahului every Saturday and Sunday. It is a go early event as it gets really hard to park. They have everything from crafts to produce and some sites ship to mainland. Enjoy!!!

Great selection at good prices

By Storyteller730015 |

It gets very hot so show up early. The fresh produce also sells early. Great prices for made in Maui items.

Maui Expo. Saturday Mauis Biggest and best Swap Meet for over 40 years.

By getaways |

The Maui Expo-Maui Swap meet is a well run Saturday event.
It is held in Central Maui in the flood basin for the university of Hawai’i Maui Campus.
This is not a juried event so if the vendor wants to say ,‘they hand paint on coconut bowls “ the event does not check the statement.
Use your judgement or take a photo and check it online. Particularly if it is a large purchase.

Posting a photo of uncle Gil who was the knowledgeable character selling used and vintage Aloha Shirts. He has passed away.
.75 cent admission, free parking . Great variety of products and the import souvenirs are sold for cheaper than ABC and you are buying local.
Love to see and purchase from chef, JeffsJans and jellies.
Lots of handmade items and a few vintage items.
We like the Swap meet and go to kaleis lunchbox afterwards for lunch and mud pie.

Great times

By stay-home-mom-pa |

Great flea market with food vendors, local artists, and general souvenir stuff. Good way to spend an early morning. Costs 50 cents admission per person but worth the time if in the area

Get all your souvenirs here!

By shemmy2 |

The Maui Swap Meet is only open Saturdays 7am-1pm. Although we received a text message, "BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII ..." we were not deterred! We were going to shop or drop. Everything we bought here was lower cost and same quality as elsewhere on Maui. Everything from artwork (photos on aluminum), jewelry, aloha shirts, skirts, and produce was of great value. If your schedule permits, you gotta come. Oh, also really good local foods; chow fun, street tacos, curry chicken stew, banana bread, shave ice, and more.

If you gotta shop, do it here.

By IdahoRodB |

I was outnumbered by the girls. I didn’t really want to spend my beach time shopping, especially since we had been at the big one at Aloha stadium on Oahu just a week ago. But I soon realized that all the shopping I would need to endure on Maui, could be done in a couple of hours without covering miles and miles of walking. There were over a hundred vendors, I didn’t count, but there were a lot, and it seemed to be a classier group and cleaner set-up than Oahu, with more food and treat vendors. So I could sit in the shade with a malasada and shaved ice while the girls went at it!

A must when visiting Maui

By Hermina123 |

All you need will be a few cents entry fee, a hat to protect you from the sun, and time to enjoy this unique market experience, (and of course some spending money). Walking through the ‘isles’ you can broaden your Hawaiian culture experience by chatting, or talking story, with local vendors at their booths. Money you spend shopping for fresh produce and gifts to take home, support the local economy. Early morning until one o’clock on Saturdays. Plenty parking space next to the college, opposite the Maui Arts and Culture Center.

A must do while visiting!

By ajshoban |

Highly recommend for local artists and also trinket shopping!
Arrive early, it costs $1.00 to enter and it gets busy. We arrived at 9am and it wasn’t busy but we left by 11 there was a line to enter. There are a lot of things to look at and some food to buy.
Loads of local artwork and clothing and then there are many trinket stands.
The best trinket stand with the best pricing (lots of 3 items for $5) was on the right side at the end of the left. It was the busiest stand and the lowest price. We saw some of the other stands with similar items for a lot more. Worth checking out!
We purchased some beautiful photograph prints from Holly. She had breathtaking landscapes, turtles and whales. If you need some if check it out, it was reasonably priced.

Great way to spend your morning

By copiaplease |

Great selection of stalls to browse and unique products to purchase. Take a bag to put your purchases in and do watch your bags and money. Although we experienced ‘light fingers’ while we were here, the overall experience was well worth the visit.

Loved this!

By NancyWise |

Had a wonderful time walking around. Lovely hand crafts. Also a lot of crap, but I enjoyed talking with the crafters and their wonderful talents.

Blasstic missile and shopping

By Elizabeth C |

We were at the Swap Meet when received the horrifying text message that life as we knew it was going to be over and the people at the swap meet were very relaxed and at ease. If you had to be out and about the swap meet was warm and welcoming not to mention a lot of great finds.
It is worth it if you are looking for fun Hawaiian gifts for friends and family. If you need groceries the fruit looked amazing and we saw fruits we had never seen before.
So after a grueling 38 minutes of waiting to hear that someone made a mistake the Swap Meet was a great place to take your mind off how scared I was....

Maui Swap Meet

By DDM |

Great place to shop for local souvenirs, clothing, arts and craft items, Hawaiian fabric totes and bags, jams and butters. Local farm markets bring their home grown fresh fruits and vegetables and sell at very reasonable prices. The swap meet is held on Saturdays at the Maui College from 0700-1:00pm. Free parking and admission is $.50 and children 12 and under Free! Easy to find location...I recommend to tourists as a "must see, things to do" item on the agenda when visiting Maui!

Great first stop

By bchbumm2018 |

First time here. Great first stop. Picked up banana bread and coconut bread. As good as any place else that we tried on our trip. Watch out for a bit of dishonest vendors stating products were hand made or island made. This turned out to be a problem elsewhere. Don’t let “those” people get to you as there were many great personable hard working sweet artist to make up for the few not honest ones. Easy parking and easy to find. Bargain at 50cents a Head to get in.

Eclectic mix of art and utilitarian items

By biw766 |

I like swap meets anyway and this one was fun as well. Vendors were nice and answered questions. Some things wseemed expensive but as a whole we’re cheaper than galleries. Only one vendor was kind of high pressure, saying: “ Hey if you don’t have the money just say so.”.
Plenty of free parking and was easy to get to. When back on Maui, I will go again.

A saturday morning must!

By travelwinegirl |

I've been to Maui 3 times and this is the first time I went to the swap meet. LOVED it! I'd say you can go thru the market stalls in an hour. They have hand crafted items, souveniers and food vendors. free parking

Lots of fun and some good prices!

By GloriousKaren |

We really enjoyed seeing all the vendors (although there are quite a few repeats of the same types of goods). A great place to get souvenirs.

Make this your first stop in Maui!!

By Shonte J |

In all honesty, our 10 day trip was planned around making sure our Saturday morning was spent at the Swap meet. I had been to the one on Oahu so many times and when I found out that Maui had one (since that was the island we were going to), I was elated and planned everything around this.

I was soo impressed with all the items the vendors had. We shopped for all our souvenirs and even got Christmas gifts for family and friends back home. Every vendor we came in contact with was so grateful for our business. Since the Lahaina fires, the small businesses had been hurt with lack of customers. Every vendor we met asked us questions, showed us their products, etc. We visited every single booth and spend 3 hours total there.

We even enjoyed shave ice, spam musubi, taro tacos and banana bread. My daughter even got a henna tattoo by one of the artists! My husband got an amazing shark whale bone necklace (not to mention a few new shirts). I would definitely make this your first stop in Maui! You will find all your souvenirs while supporting the locals!

Fresh, fun and for the frugal

By idau85 |

This was one of the highlight of my trip. 50 cent admission fee/person. You can't beat that! cash only. Free parking. This is located by a school, so there is plentiful parking. Having a small car is helpful because the parking spots are narrower. Bring plenty of small bills and cash. Some vendor will charge you a convenience fee for using credit cards (ask before you buy).
It's great to support the local economy and all the stalls are of local vendors, artist, farmers and merchant. You can negotiate if you like. There is food, fruits, vegetables, jewelry, and lots of souvenirs. Some of the best priced souvenirs on the island. For example, Hawaiian hair clip for $1. If you buy multiples of the same item, ask for a discount. There is a gamete of things and of quality, from kick knacks to $2K+ custom sinks! (they also ship btw). Allocate about 1.5 hours without children. Do try the shave ice! the best deal on the island $3 for a standard size (large). Plus, they only come to this swap meet, so you won't find them anywhere else. They also cater. Enjoy!

This Swap Meet has everything!

By Jeanine H |

Went to this last year in August while vacationing on the island. Plan to go again in May when I return to the island for another visit

Variety

By allisonakd |

We went knowing all we really wanted was insulted Hawaiian bags. They always have a great selection here. We also enjoyed the crepes from the crepe man. Delicious slavery crepes. Sorry I don’t remember the business name on either. We really didn’t see much more that enticed us. A lot of what you see is in other stores not real unique. Lots of parking and only .50 entrance fee. There is also a gentleman who sells prints of maps who is full of historical information and was very interesting to listen to.

Great for Tourists

By Paris1952 |

Great place for tourists to meet locals and buy their wares at good prices. Not as much a farmers market as I had hoped but worth the time to see local artist and only .50 to go in.

Totally awesome

By Greg H |

Something for everyone. Several vendors with many wares. Many custom jewelry vendors - authentic Hawaii shirts - and just about everything including cheap souvenirs and eats. We loved it and would have loved to go again.

Shopping

By V8861NQangelam |

This is a great place to go. 50 cents to get in. This is a great place to get fresh fruits and veggies both locally grown and many things I have never seen before. There is also local crafts along with mass bags, hats and tee shirts. Also food vendors. We start in the back and we bring cash. There are a few booths that carry the same types of things and most people start at the front and work there way back. Well we found that they can be cheaper in the back. We carry cash because they are more willing to give you a cheaper price then with a credit card. We have brought some great things home and love the fruit and veggies.

The biggest and best swap meet that Maui has to offer

By Daniel G |

The swap meet opens every Saturday 7-1 at the UH Maui campus. You need to allow 1-2 hours so you can enjoy shopping as well as eating. It cost .50 to enter and parking is free. Dress in cool attire because it can get hot. Water and other drinks are available as well as shave ice a local treat you need to try when in Hawaii. This is a great place to pick up fruits and vegetables as well as gifts to take home.

Very good improvements

By Edward L |

We last visited the Maui Swap Meet 3 years ago and thought that it was ok but they have made some very good improvements over the years. More vendors for sure with lots of variety to appeal to all sorts of tastes and needs. There are now so many vendor booths, we took nearly 2 and a 1/2 hours to check out everything. Got a number of special gifts for friends that go beyond the tourist shtick. You can park in the college paved parking lot, there are now solar panels throughout the parking lot so you might be lucky to get some shade for your car.

NICE PLACE TO MEANDER ABOUT

By Martin S |

This is our third trip to this "Swap Meet". While there are many vendors, it was, on this third visit, a repeat of prior trips with little change in vendors. We were disappointed that the stand selling malasadas (Portugues Donuts) no longer existed. Overall a nice, pleasant day strolling through the aisles, seeing the many friendly faces. We will be there on our next trip to Maui in December, possibly looking for new items of interest.

Go early and take a leisurely stroll

By christa S |

This is a great market with numerous local vendors with everything from high end to trinkets for kids. There are fresh vegetables vendors, many with local produce. Go in the morning when it isn’t too hot and bring a hat as there is very little shade from the sun.

Swap meet Maui

By irisheyes15 |

The swap meet was very nice . Lots of variety and very friendly people. Parking was convenient and handicap available.

Large variety of vendors

By Korri M |

This is a great place to get souveniers and local artisan crafts. We took back lots of jellies from Jeff's Jams & Jellies booth to our family back home. The shave ice booth was very reasonable and had the best shave ice we had on the island. You have to be careful on some prices. Many of the booths are carrying the exact same items (magnets, sun dresses, etc) and offer different prices. It is only 50 cents to get in. Easy to spend an hour or two looking at everything!

Best deals on good stuff

By John B |

Best place to shop for souvenirs, gifts, and inexpensive art along with food clothing stickers jewelry furniture this swap meet has everything.

Exceeded My Expectations

By etmwhite |

What a fun morning we had at the swap meet. We purchased some lovely souvenirs for others and ourselves. Had the privilege of meeting Kiha Kaina, a very talented man with a very kind heart. He did a painting for us and we were so impressed. We also had a shaved ice from Maui Girlz.....what a great treat! Admission is only 50 cents and the parking is free.

Great place for souvenirs

By Scooby2353 |

Always visit the swap meet while on Maui. It’s a great place for souvenirs and island gifts. It use to be more vintage and flea market but now is mostly crafts and artisans. Some booths get a bit repetitive with their merchandise but that’s the only complaint.

Best souvenirs

By KayakRunExplore80 |

First, this is not a flea market. This is where most of the locals go to buy locally made goods. It is a great place to buy souvenirs. It costs $0.50 admission. There are food and drinks there too.

Lots to see at the swap meet

By nchandler6562016 |

For .75 cents you can go in and shop. Prices are mostly reasonable. Be careful of the produce. Some of the prices are more than Costco. But they have a good selection of food and crafts. Fun place for things to take home

Found treasure

By briggsz725 |

This flea market is more on the artsy craftsy style. It's not folks bringing a van load of stuff from home. Not many food vendors but we found some good Caribbean style Curry chicken and empanadas. Best find was a star sapphire ring at the estate jewelry table. Too bad they are retiring. .50¢ admission. Portable toilets with running water.

It was OK

By 910davem |

There wasn't as much there as I expected. Small area. Only one guy that was like a flea market. Everything else was commercial, price and items, like every other tourist stuff. Price was good for admission, $.50.

Maui Swap Meet

By judyj752 |

This swap meet is big! Go in the morning before it gets too hot, the selection of items is huge! It was an awesome place to get souvenirs, talk to the vendors and to see so many talented people in one place, the carvers are amazing! This is a definite must to go to!

You won't believe how large it is

By Dolly707 |

We've been 2 years in a row and it's fabulous. So many vendors to choose from including clothing, food, jewelry, art, produce and more. This year we went 3 weekends in a row. It's held every Saturday morning and we buy produce there. Nice and fresh. There is a .50 cent entry fee per person and there's lots of parking. It's a must see.

Local wares make for great souvenirs and gifts!

By Cin-Yee Shih |

Enjoyed the Maui Swap Meet. $0.50 gains you admission to roughly 50 vendor stalls. I found a teak cat sculpture ($5), pineapple guava tea ($6), coconut candy ($6), and a Hawaiian print dress for my niece ($10).

Best crepe ever

By AH5071 |

I really recommend that you visit the swap meet in Maui. Lots of local vendors. But the best is the food truck “ Crepes d’Amour” owned by a French guy. Best crepe I ever had. Nice choice of savory and sweet. I had the lilikoi - passion fruit cheese cake - just delicious!!!!

So fun!

We just love the Maui swap meet. So many beautiful crafts to look at and fabulous shave ice. It's great to talk to each artist about their items. This us a perfect place to pick up souvenirs and gifts to take home. This is a fabulous place to spend Saturday mornings on Maui. And it's only fifty cents to get in and free parking! We suggest you wear a hat and take bottles of water...it gets really hot and humid.

good food and items to purchase

By W7421MRfrankk |

Nice but not as nice as the swap in Oahu. More selection and items at the Oahu swap. we were at this swap meet during the alert and it turned into an experience we will never forget.

Great souvenir place to shop

By Joyce G |

It’s open every Saturdays rain or shine, but when it’s pouring rain not drizzling then some shops close early. It’s .50 cents to get in. Most shops take cards but if u want to bargain then bring cash. Most of the souvenirs I bought here was almost half the price from what I bought downtown by the banyan tree stores. They sell food, fruit/vege stands, clothing, jewelry, shot glasses, T-shirts and etc. Must go to place if looking to buy souvenirs for yourself and/family. Ample of parking and bring your umbrella just in case. I used Waze app to find outdoor swap meet to find this place, it’s near the Maui aquarium(10mins away).

Good Bargains and Good Quality

By Barbara C |

I've enjoyed visiting several swap meets on Maui on different trips to that island. This particular one is the largest one on the island. You can find just about anything you might want in the way of crafts, jewelry, clothing, and food. It's HUGE, so plan to spend the day.

Best place to be on Saturday morning in Maui

By PPTA |

Located at Comminity College, swap meet is best local marketplace with a minimal 50 cent entrance fee.
Be prepared to find a variety of local vendors offering their goods and services at fair prices, often discounted compared to their other selling outlets.
Local fruits, vegetables and snacks to eat here or take are plentiful as well as shaved ice and drinks.
T shirts, hats, bags, jewelry, souvenirs of all shapes for all ages, as well as some very fine local art can all be found at different price points.
There is something for everybody and even if you aren’t in a Shopping mood or don’t find exactly what you are looking for, the atmosphere is always festive and friendly and fun is to be had here! Vendors are always willing to talk about their products and share their professional and personal knowledge about their products and the islands.
Wouldn’t miss it...a must attend event when in Maui!

great place for fresh veggies grown on Maui and low cost gifts to take home

By Ed S |

we always get our fresh veggies here, you have to come early. most anything you want can be found here. wood carvings, jewelry, shirts, paintings, and you can even get a massage here

Great place to pick up fresh fruits and veggies fir your AirBnB!

By Jake C |

We stopped by here first (as opposed to Costco) between the airport and our AirBnB condo rental. There were plenty of fruits, veggies, and local treats to be had at great prices. Even better, the quality of the food was fantastic. Save yourself a few bucks, while infusing a little unexpected culture into your Vacay!

Great deals on jewelry

By Lynn P |

This was my 3rd time at the swap meet and would recommend it to everyone that visits Maui. I found and purchased some beautiful glass jewelry that was more expensive in Lahaina!! GO EARLY, as it gets VERY hot as the day goes on!!

Many Vendors to choose from...

By P9152PVkt |

Didn't expect to go to a 'swap meet' in Maui but was worth the stop. A Good amount of vendors to see and a good variety of items to choose from.

Great deals

By mauigirl95 |

Lots of great deals and bargains. Some of the vendors willing to negotiate prices. Lots of great papayas and other fruits and vegetables from locals. Definintely would recommend going especially if want souvenirs.

Go HERE for your souvenirs!

By Alissa P |

.75 cents to enter, hundreds of vendors and great food! We went on our way to the helicopter tour at the airport. You could spend 45 minutes to several hours depending on your endurance for shopping! Lots of jewelry, souvenirs, clothing, and handmade items. Worth the trip!

The Maui Swap Meet Is A Great Place To Go To Support Local Artesians and Stock Up On All Kinds of Souvenirs!

By PinkBow |

One of my "must do" fun activities when I go to Maui is to hit the Maui Swap Meet on Saturday morning. For a small .50 cent charge at the gate, in and out privileges, along with free parking, your world will soon be filled with many wonderful mostly handmade items to purchase to remember the islands by. I've purchased a variety of wares from local jewelry makers, bag makers, tee-shirt and candle makers and more. I've also met and purchased CD's from local musicians who signed their products and were more than happy to sit and chat a while with me. If you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere full of aloha, it is a very fun place to shop for your island treasures. I'd strongly suggest bringing a hat as it does get scorching as you go up and down the rows of vendors. We like to cool off with a Maui Girls snow cone when it gets too hot! This activity really can be done in just a few hours leaving plenty of time for exploring more of the island when you're done browsing the swap meet.

Fun Saturday activity in Maui!

By TJouer |

We recently visited the island of Maui for a week and wanted to check out the swap meet. We weren't sure what to expect, but it was a nice mixture of vendors selling local ware, crafts, jewelry, souvenirs, etc. There are also a couple of food vendors if you get hungry or thirsty. The admission is practically free (fifty cents USD), and there is no charge for the parking directly across from the swap meet.

Items that I found to be a good purchase/value include the Christmas ornaments. There are many, locally, handmade, ornaments that are very reasonably priced and make great gifts or souvenirs. Some of the women's T-shirts are high quality and 20% or more cheaper than those you will find in the retail stores. Plus, the designs are unique and locally made.

The sterling silver charms (Hula dancer, tiny sea turtles, etc.) are another great value and make great gifts. There are some nice, higher end clothing made of Italian linen but be prepared to pay for the unique designs.

Tips: Make sure you park in the authorized parking lot, otherwise you will be visited by security or worse yet may be towed. Drink plenty of water or purchase the drinks onsite. There are port-o-potties but no permanent restrooms available. The food truck vendors have great food that is, again, more reasonably priced than restaurant fare. This swap meet is much larger than the one in Kihei.

Good shopping trip

By M W |

If you’re looking to shop for gifts, have good breakfast and lunch it’s definitely worth it. Food and shaved ice were great. I recommend it to anyone.

Mid size swap meet

By Kathy W |

Swap meet is OK. Not nearly the size of the Swap Meet on Oahu. The vendors were willing to take a buck or two off, but the deals were better in Oahu.

Fun place!

By jewel72 |

Don’t miss Maui Swap Meet if you like to shop & poke!
Only open on Saturday so plan your visit.
Best place for souvenirs! Some vendors only take cash and some will haggle.

What a great time!

By kikelly22 |

So worth the stop! Good food fun shopping and really nice venders! Picked up great souvenirs for a great price! We’re going again next Saturday!!

Great Place for Souvenir Shopping

By TravelsForLess |

This was one of my favorite stops on our trip to Maui (and I'm not a big shopper.) "Swap meet" makes me think used items, but most of what we saw were new and many were handmade. We picked up most of our gifts and souvenirs here. Some of the items we saw later in regular stores and they were priced higher. (Bonus! Cheaper and more fun!)

Here is a sample of some of the items we purchased: pearl earrings, t-shirts, a used ukulele, personalized Christmas ornaments, hats, pins, wooden carvings, coasters, handmade bowls, aloha wear. If we hadn't just done our grocery shopping, this would have been a great place to buy produce. Lots of local fruits.

There were a couple of stands where you could buy a coconut and drink the milk out of it, When you are done with the milk, you bring the coconut back to the stand and they cut up the coconut meat for you. We did this ($5) and took the coconut meat home with us. We enjoyed eating it on fruit and cereal for the next few days.

We also enjoyed our first shave ice here. It was from Maui Girlz. It was delicious and HUGE! We got a medium and it was more than enough for the 2 of us (and we ain't tiny people!). It was the perfect treat on a humid 90-degree day!

Neat way to shop

By Brooke D |

Open every Saturday from 7a-1p. Lots of vendors selling just about everything. If you are looking for made in Hawaii, you need to ask the vendor as some things are imports. They have great good selections and shaved ice for a bargain. It is very hot so wear a hat and sunscreen. You can spend at least 2 hours or more and the 50 cent entrance fee is a steal.

Lots to see and eat. Fun to visit.

By vjgoobee |

A fun and well organized craft/food/gift market. Many variety of merchant vendors. Also many food/beverage options too.

Back to normal Maui Swap Meet

By Portobello B |

This is a great place to pick up souvenirs to bring home. There is a vendor in the back that has a $1 stand (for most all items) that I see in the normal gift stores for much more. They offer buy 6 items for $5 and you really can't beat the price. I really enjoy seeing new vendors (especially jewelry) among the regular vendors that I've seen every year when I visit. Good local produce are available.

You "DO" have to wear a mask while inside the vendors area. It does get pretty hot so mornings is always best. Pease be respectful and wear your mask while shopping.

Wow

By hoolio7 |

This was a super fun morning out! So many great vendors. We found plenty of souvenirs and some delicious food too. Definitely recommend!

Fun at Swap meet

By Kathleen B |

What a great way to spend a Saturday morning. So many vendors and so any choices of local eats, Farmers market and crafts. You can shop in one place and find a variety of souvenirs to take home.

Best place to buy souvenirs and gifts fun shopping stop!

By timcarla |

Arrived in Maui early Saturday and hit this swap meet on our way to Lahaina. The prices were def better than most of the shops (and ABC stores) and there were lots of places to grab a bite, drink or purchase some very nice items. Don't just buy from the first place you stop at, as prices can vary. It was a very fun stop, cheap to get in and comfortable to navigate. Wear your hat, use sunscreen, bring cash and have fun!

Huge market!!! Open Saturdays only 7am-1pm

By Ioana D |

Make sure you go in the morning before it gets really hot!!! We were there at noon and it was unbearably hot! Get yourself a cold lemonade, some banana bread and walk around the many stands that offer lovely Hawaiian merchandise!

Great way to spend a few hours

By Brad G |

They have a bit of everything and the prices are very reasonable. If you are looking for souvenirs while visiting Maui, this is the place to stop

Awesome Swap Meet with Cover Charge

By MarktheWay |

We really enjoyed our time at the Saturday Maui Swap Meet. We were surprised to be charged a $0.50 entrance fee. But despite that, it was a great way to spend the morning. We were able to pick up some fresh papaya and oranges at the farmers market. One of the best shave ice vendors is found at the Maui Girlz Shave Ice. The special Haupia shave ice is a must try flavor of coconut with ice cream and drizzled in snow cap and chocolate and topped with whip cream - yummy, delicious and refreshing on a hot day! The baked goods market offered delicious banana bread.

Lots of repeats

By InToonwithWife |

While there were a lot of vendors, after a while we felt like it was the same old same old. There were some better places and a few food booths, but that was it.

Something for everyone!

By Samson17 |

This was quite an extravaganza- lots of vendors with a variety of items to purchase.
We thought we'd walk through in about 10 minutes but ended up staying much longer.
It was a beautiful day to be out and about after 2 days of rain on the island so it was fun to just stroll through and take in everything. Art, food, woodcarving, clothing, jewelry; something for everyone! And here you'll find some
of the best coconut macaroons you've ever tasted!!!

Jewelry, Clothes, Food and more....

By TheresaZ_11 |

Last Saturday we visited the Maui Swap Meet to pick up souvenirs for family and friends. They had a variety of affordable items such as handcrafted candles, jewelry, wood carved items, Hawaiian style clothing, fresh banana breads. There were plenty of food trucks serving up delicious dishes like crepes, fish tacos, Jamaican foods, fruit smoothies and so much more. Ample free parking. Entrance fee is $5.00 per person. Bring your own bag to carry all your goodies and wear comfortable shoes and a hat.

Perfect for Gifts and Unique Nik Naks

By Kevin F |

Came here on a rainy day and found gifts for everyone back home. Definitely the best place to come for inexpensive and unique gifts. Also a decent selection of fresh fruit and vegetable. Reasonable at only a $.50 entry fee!

Great place to buy sourveniers

By Bill K |

Go early is great advice. Small fee to get in. Great selection of tourist items, fresh fruit, veggies and flowers. Some vendors of art. Nice way to kill an hour or 2 before you head back to the beach.

Great swap meet

By mauijojo |

We've been to Maui many times, but this year we made the trip to the Maui Swap Meet. It's enormous with all kinds of vendors; clothing, food, shave ice, jewelry, souvenirs and more. Definitely worth the visit. And only $.50 with free parking!

Best fifty cents admission we ever spent

By Bonnie H |

We weren't really sure what to expect but our expectations were exceeded. We spent half the day wandering the vast offerings of whares, eating tasty foods, chatting with loads of friendly vendors and thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Fun place

By Jeff s |

A great relaxed vibe greets everyone, fruits and veggies, old historic collectibles, shave ice (and shaved frozen fruit) in an old VW, baked items like guava bread. Something for everyone. Easy parking.

Fun! Lots of vendors!

By Artnletters |

What a fun way to spend a Saturday morning — there are lots of tents, featuring everything from fine art to local produce. You can meet the artists and farmers. The prices are great, making this an excellent place to buy souvenirs. You can also pick up some tropical fruit to enjoy back at your hotel, or enjoy foods from the food trucks right there.

Where the locals shop

By Greg M |

The swap meet has alot of local produce and souvenirs. It costs 50 cents to get in and the parking is free. Even if you dont buy anything you are only out the price of admission.

Lots of fun, great place to pick up gifts

By SifusWoman |

My family went here because we enjoyed the Aloha Swap meet on Oahu. This swap meet is much smaller but great fun. The food was really good here - go for the banana bread and lilikoi bread. Do try the cane juice. The mash up the sugar cane stalks in a machine right in front of you! Do look take a look at all the vendors. Lots of local arts that are different from anywhere else, besides the usual t-shirts and hats.

It's worth the effort.

By Robert L |

Whenever I have time while visiting Oahu, I try to go to the big swap meet near Rainbow Staduim. The same goes for my visits to Maui if I'm there on a Saturday. The entry is less than a buck and parking is free. Be sure to wear sunscreen, a hat and comfortable walking shoes. Booth after booth after booth filled with all kinds of goodies from jewelry to clothing to photographs and much more. I can't remember ever leaving empty-handed. It's fun and the prices are pretty good.

Cheap Hawaiian option!

By dem0502 |

For free parking and a cost of .50 a person one of the funnest cheapest things to do in Maui. Had lots to see and do. Place to buy cheaper souvenirs as well. Must visit on Saturday!

Great Experience

By Gwen B |

Loved visiting this market plenty of parking on the grounds and a nominal entry fee of .50 Lots of beautiful things to see in range of prices. I found most prices much cheaper than similar things I saw in the local stores or markets and some of the vendors had unique items. I particularly like Island Batik dresses and outfits. We were about 1.5 hours wandering through.

It was hot

By Doris L |

It was very interesting, lots of good finds and a variety of products from cheap to expensive.
The parking lot can get very hot during the day so we did not stay too long.

Maui Sea Glass...seriously...MAUI SEA GLASS !

By Allen M |

If you happen to go to Maui, and happen to go by the Maui Swap Meet on Saturday morning, it is worth your time to look up Creighton Sato at Maui Sea Glass (mauiseaglass@gmail.com) Great jewelry, great prices, and he stands by his sales. My granddaughters picked up some earrings there (after seeing all the booths at the Maui Swap Meet they absolutely HAD to go back there) and it was their favorite memory of Maui. Of course, no sooner did they get back to the mainland and the earrings were taken. They were desolate., We contacted Creighton (hoping we could buy a replacement) and he said he remembered the twins, and "No worries", he would just replace them free of charge, which he did. Immediately...wouldn't take payment...don't be silly.

Many thanks to Creighton and Maui Sea Glass for going the extra mile and making some girls pretty happy...twice.

Not just a swap meet

By Mary K |

It an art fair...with local art.
It's a farmers market with fresh produce
Yes it does have a very few used items and a few imports of souvineer but there are at least 200 vendors..well worth the 50 cents and a few hours of entertainment

Fun activity

By Tammy E |

A fun activity. Lots of different craft vendors and a few food vendors too. Only 50cents to get in. A fun walk.
