We visited McCarthy's wildlife sanctuary yesterday 1/16/25.

There is a reason that this is the #1 Top Attraction in West Palm Beach...it was an
AMAZING TOUR!

Our guide Josie was OUTSTANDING as she took us around the sanctuary...she was so knowledgeable, accommodating and friendly.

We had ample time to view all the animals and were able to get so very close to all of them including the many big and beautiful cats...even had the opportunity to hold the kinkajou, baby alligator, Ball python, tarantula.

Make sure your phone is fully charged as you want to be able to shoot many, many great photos.

The sanctuary is IMMACULATE

A way better experience than zoos and other facilities...

I would give it a "10" except they only allow 5 stars.

I AM A WILDLIFE REHABILATATOR AND RUN A RESCUE IN BOCA RATON FOR 35 YEARS. I TOOK MY 10 YEAR OLD GRANDSON FOR A TOUR. WE WERE BOTH IMPRESSED WITH THE FACILITY FOR ITS CARE AND CLEANLINESS. THE ANIMALS WERE NOT STRESSED. OUR GUIDE JEREMY WAS WELL INFORMED AND MADE A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR EVERYONE. I CANT WAIT TO TAKE MY GRANDDAUGHTER WHEN SHE TURNS 5 IN A YEAR. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR FOR EVERYONE.

I learned so much about all of the animals here, and really enjoyed my visit. Bianca was my guide and she was fantastic! What they do for the animals here is incredible, and hearing all of their back stories was very special. Definitely will be back when I am in the area.

This was a great experience well worth the price of a ticket. Our guide was Sabina who was very knowledgeable and comfortable with all the animals, which one could see thru her interaction with them, they all responded to her! She spoke of each animal individually, how they came there, where they originated from, their funny personalities, this is not a zoo, it definitely is a sanctuary. Some of the animals come from stupid (my words, not Sabina’s) people that bought them for pets and then realized they are wild animals. Duh.. No one wants to see animals kept in captivity but this place is so clean and well kept, it’s obvious they are loved and cared for by the staff.
We were in a group of 10 including children, it was a perfect way to spend a couple of hours on a cloudy day.

Beautiful setting, amazing animals, but it all comes down to Josie, our tour guide. Her wealth of knowledge is ramped up by her absolute passion for these animals. I brought an 82 year old sweetheart named Ina who has Alzheimer’s. Her short-term memory is pretty much shot, but she sure remembers holding a big python with Josie! Book a tour if you haven’t been to McCarthy’s - I never thought I would ever see a rare snow leopard up close!

had a fantastic time at McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary! It's a great place to learn about animals and how we can help protect them. My tour guide, Jeremy, was absolutely fantastic. He clearly loves the animals and has a ton of knowledge about all of them. One of the coolest parts was getting to hold and pet some of the animals – that was a memory I'll never forget. I also really appreciated how the sanctuary takes in animals that other places can't care for, and they work hard to rehabilitate them so they can go back into the wild when it's safe. It's great to know they're supporting the community too.
I highly recommend checking out McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. It's a fun and educational experience for all ages – my whole family loved it.

We recently brought an out-of-state family visitor to McCarthy's, as we often do when we entertain non-locals in our home. And as always, it was another great experience -- as they never disappoint.

Even though we have visited McCarthy's a few times, each experience is a little different; as there is a new animal or the tour changes a bit periodically.

This visit we had Bianca for our guide, and she was exceptional and professional. There were two beautiful children in our group, both of whom had many repetitive questions. She was patient and gracious with them, and made it fun for the children as well as equally interesting for the adults.

I was quite amazed with Bianca's knowledge for the Sanctuary, as well as every animal we encountered. There was no question asked that she was unable to answer, and with great detail. She is obviously very connected to her work and the Sanctuary. It was easy to see her personal devotion for the well being of the beautiful animals.

I am sure you won't be disappointed if you give it a try.

P.S. Bring a few quarters, as there is an opportunity to buy food for the fish and small alligators while you wait for your tour to begin.

First of all, Jayme our tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable. I liked how it's was a small group, ours was total of 9. The place was very clean and all the animals are well taken care of and happy. It's a must see place. I'm from California and I know I'll go back again when I'm in the area.

Such a great place with a knowledgable staff. Bianca was amazing, friendly, and answered all our questions! Something inportant to know before arriving: bring cash for tips. The staff splits their tips in half to donate them to the sanctuary, they are non-profit and completely funded by the public. We enjoyed our visit and want to keep them in business, so check them out!

We thoroughly enjoyed walking through the wildlife sanctuary. McCarthy has done a great job with placing the animals, some which are rescue animals, in safe, humane habitats. Our guide was Josie. She has an indepth knowledge of each animal and truly enjoyed interacting with the animals. We learned a lot and had fun doing it.

I can't stop talking about it!!! The animals were healthy and happy. The sanctuary was extremely clean. Our guide was knowledgeable and had a warm repour with the animals. We got to hold a honey bear!

Wear comfortable shoes, a hat, wear sunscreen and enjoy the beautiful animals.

This is my second time going to the McCarty wildlife and both times it was amazing!!! The tour guide was great and you get to see all the animals up close. All the animals seem very happy and well loved! I would definitely recommend going there.

Josie was amazing- very sweet and knowledgeable. She knew so much about the animals and she was great with kids who were very curious and wanted to touch everything.

It was just my adult son and I on Thursday, November 2nd. I had been twice before and this was for his birthday. Our guide was Jayme and she was amazing!! I cant believe she remembered all the things she told us, she was very knowledgeable and professional! A very sweet girl!

We couldn’t have ask for a better tour guide in Bianca. If she could, we would have climbed into the enclosures to make the tour even more enjoyable. Her impeccable red nail polish was the cherry on top. An enjoyable experience all around.

We had an amazing experience on our tour! Jeremy was our tour guide and he was so knowledgeable about each animal we met! You can tell that they truly care for the animals and have a really good cause. We got to hold a few of the animals which was also really exciting. We will definitely be back and I will definitely recommend visiting to our loved ones.

Overall, amazing experience! The small-group format was fantastic, and we were able to get super close to SO many incredible creatures—a variety of birds, small mammals, big cats, snakes, huge tortoises, and more. We were pleasantly surprised to see most of the animals (including big cats and snakes) awake and moving around! We never felt rushed, and our kids especially loved the opportunities to hold and pet many of the animals. Stacey, our guide, was so knowledgeable and kind, answering everyone's (including the youngest visitors’) questions. We all had a wonderful time!

Absolutely amazing. This rescue center is well run, well kept and the staff is truly amazing! Bianca was the best guide I have ever experienced at a wildlife sanctuary and I have been to many. I am so impressed that this exists in my area and I will definitely be bringing any visitors I have to it. I was also so impressed that everyone that had been to it feels the same as I do.
There is obvious love and respect for these animals and I love the fact that so many of them are rescues and surrenders. This is a rescue I plan to support.

The guide Josie was amazing. She answered a lot of questions and helped us during the animal encounters. This sanctuary cares for wildlife.

What a wonderful tour. We had a knowledgeable tour guide who loves and understands the animals. She’s an actual zookeeper. We were able to hold some of the animals on the 2-hour tour. We saw turtles, birds, monkeys, lions, tigers, jaguars, ligers, tigers, lemurs, kinkajous, hawks, owls, macaws, toucans, cockatoos, pythons, cobras, vipers, and rattlesnakes! One of our friends held a tarantula, oh my!! Our guide even feed some of the animals! Each animal has a history, and she was very eager to share the fact of how they found a home at McCarthy's! You will enjoy this wildlife center immensely!

This is such a special place. We have been many times and brought our 8 and 11 year old grandsons. The tour guide Bianca made our visit extra special with her kindness and most of all knowledge. The boys loved seeing all of the animals up close and really enjoyed the reptile room where they held snakes, turtles and even a tarantella. They also held a baby alligator and heard the trill of a kookaburra. Reservations are a must.

Hands down one of the most memorable experiences in years! I would highly recommend a visit to McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. I visited with my 11yr old and he has not stopped telling his friends and family about our visit. It was well worth the 2 hour drive and was absolutely the highlight of our vacation to Florida. Not only was our tour guide amazing (Alexis-thank you!) and we were able to hold some very neat creatures (alligator, snake, kinkajou, etc), but the animals are all so happy! They are so well cared for and loved and you can see that their wellbeing and enrichment (mental and physical) is the primary focus of their family of caretakers. Go visit. You will NOT be disappointed.

First off Bianca, our tour guide was wonderful! So lovely and knowledgeable. To be so up close with the animals was a treat. Much closer contact than at a zoo. We also had some hands on experiences. Highly recommend.

This sanctuary is an absolute gem for a family day trip! This tour is way more behind-the-scenes than any typical zoo experience. Our tour guide, Erika, was a wealth of knowledge and was ready to answer any questions we had too. You will never find another tour that gets you this close to animals! Tigers and leopards were the stars of this tour, until we got to hold an actual juvenile alligator! The reptile room is also a can't miss part of the tour. Overall, a tour here is time well spent both for individuals and families. Highly Recommended!

There is a reason why this is the number one attraction on TripAdvisor. This is the coolest animal experience I have ever had. It is so worth it! It is great for all ages! You will not regret making the decision to go!

What an incredible sanctuary and experience to learn about cats, birds, lemurs, and more. Jeremy the tour guide provided great facts about the animals and made it fun. The animals were well taken care. I would highly recommend this experience.

This is an extraordinary place. We had a tour of more than two hours during which we saw and learned about many different animals including bigs cats- tigers, lions, panthers and more, birds, alligators, and many more. Each animal had a story of their rescue. Our guide was excellent imparting information as well as sharing great stories. This is a working animal sanctuary. It doesn’t feel a bit commercial or ‘touristy’. It was a very authentic experience. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing experience with our tour guide Jeremey. He was so sweet with such a great personality, extremely informative and passionate about the animals, answered all of our questions. We got to hold a baby alligator, a big snake and a tarantula! It was definitely worth it would recommend it to everybody and would love to come back!

This is an amazing animal sanctuary! We were greeted warmly when we arrived and we're told our tour would begin shortly. We were free to explore the pond area - full of turtles and two baby alligators- from the bridge area, as well as the tortoise pen.
Our tour guide was Bianca and she was excellent! She explained all about each animals background, their personalities and care needs. She was extremely friendly with a warm sense of humor. Bianca welcomed the group's questions and answered each one expertly and completely.
The sanctuary is pristinely clean and well-kept. The cages were secure, spacious and were stocked with toys and animal appropriate swimming areas. We were able to get very close to each and every animal. Each animal greeted the keeper, Bianca, with enthusiasm and excitement. Every interaction between animal and keeper was warm and positive. We were able to hold several animals during the tour, including a kinkajou, young alligator, tortoise and tarantula. Kinkajou, March, was my favorite while husband was impressed with the large cats and how close we were to them. There was hand sanitizer available in many of the areas, another indication of McCarthy's concern for visitor and animal safety.
I can't say enough about the top notch quality of our 2 hour visit/tour. It is a must see when visiting the Palm Beach area! Admission fees and gift shop sales all go to provide for the animal needs. We will return when back in the area.

What an amazing experience today! Bianca provided an informative and fun experience with a LOT of difference big cats, birds, snakes, tortoises and an alligator with an attitude. She knew each of the animals personally, provided so many interesting facts, and tolerated our many questions. The place was clean, the animals well cared for, and the staff dedicated and pleasant. Glad we went.

We had Josie as our tour guide, she was awesome! Such a love for the animals and the knowledge to share with us, we have been there many times and learn something new every time. Grounds are immaculate as always. Thanks to Mark, Aneth and the whole sanctuary family for the hard work rescuing, rehabilitating and just giving the animals a loving home.

This is the best experience in West Palm beach. Come and interact with all the animals and get a experience you will never forget. Snakes, monkeys, loins, tigers its all here and up close to see. Really something you will remember for a long time.

McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary delivered an unforgettable wildlife experience. Our guide, Jayme, was exceptional – knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly passionate. The sanctuary itself is beautifully maintained, housing a diverse range of fascinating animals. I highly recommend this sanctuary, especially if you can request Jayme as your guide.

Such a fun experience! You could tell how much our guide Jeremy loved and appreciated the animals. The animals look well cared for and the enclosures were meticulously maintained. Got to hold a Kinkajou, snakes, and an alligator. Husband got to hold a tarantula, which was a big NOPE for me (lol).

We stumbled across McCarthys Wildlife santurary because we were looking for something to do with the kids. Word of mouth traveled and we were told to check this place out. When I looked it up my mouth dropped. I didn't believe the photos that I was seeing. So we booked our tour and showed up we were meet by Jeremy he began our tour and omg within the first 5 min the connection you saw with him and the animals the love for his job showed. As the tour continued so did the amazing experience both boys were in shock at everything we were seeing and how close we were to them and the fact that we even got to hold some of the animals were priceline. My son is 13 and want to be a zoologist so this was the perfect spot for him. Jeremy answered ever question took his time giving us such amazing knowledge about the animals and encouraging my son. Next thing I knew my nephew who is 11 asking me and him mom how could he get to be like Jeremy. We told him to ask him and he got to find out exactly what he needed to do if he wanted to work with animals as well. We were in town for 3 days we did multiple things, went to multiple centers and sanctuaries and this was by far all of our favorite ones. We will be coming back once things cool down some. THANK YOU SO MUCH JEREMY FOR THIS AMAZING EXPERIENCE AND THANK YOU MCCARTHY WILDLIFE SANTUARY FOR OPENING UP YOUR DOORS AND SHARING THIS ONCE IM A LIFE TIME EXPERIENCE WITH EVERYONE. Highly recommend. Had excellent experience. Tour guide was Jeremy; we were fortunate as he was also superb. If you are thinking about going, go for it as you will not be disappointed!

I read about McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary in West Palm Beach, FL on Trip Advisor and decided to take a tour there on 19Dec24. I was extremely impressed with this sanctuary!! They had lots of different animals including some rare animals, and the animals were all extremely well taken care of! Some of the animals were rescued, some were donated by other facilities and some were given to them by "pet" owners who could no longer take care of their pets. I greatly enjoyed my tour and seeing the many animals at this site. This was a great way to spend the day!

We took our niece and nephew. The tour was 2 hours. Our guide, Jeremy, was super knowledgeable about all of the animals that we encountered. You have to book an appointment so the groups are small and you get a lot of interaction with all of the animals. The kids held quite a few of them including snakes and a tarantula. We highly recommend this place. It is unique and very educational as well as fun.

As animal lovers and supporters of animal rights, we are skeptical of so-called sanctuaries that deprive their inhabitants of a good, healthy quality of life. McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is one of the rare wildlife sanctuaries that is filled with loving, knowledgeable, dedicated stewards, and thriving, well-loved, healthy, animals. Alexis was an exceptional guide. She introduced us to all of her animal friends, educated us on their habitats and unique personalities, and answered every one of our questions. We will be back. Often. A truly special sanctuary for animals of all kinds, including humans.

Mcarthy’s wildlife sanctuary is a great organization and very educational experience! Bianca our guide was great and we learned so much from her tour. We were glad to support the important work McCarthy’s does.

This time I needed a wheeled walker and the whole place was accommodating.

We visited the sanctuary today and it was a memorable experience. Jeremy was our guide and he taught us so much about all of the animals. He made the tour so special by giving us enough time to see each animal and sharing amazing facts about the animals. You can really see how much he cares for the animals and they respond to him as well. I highly recommend McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary for people of all ages. Took my 10 yo granddaughter. We loved it. The tour guide Bianca was amazing. There was a total downpour throughout the tour and she handled it well. They gave out umbrella’s and gave us the choice to rebook or continue tour. The place seems to be well maintained and the animals well cared for. Lots of opportunity for a close encounter. Highly recommend.

McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary was such an amazing experience! My husband and I had the pleasure of visiting on 8/30/25. Jeremy, our guide, was knowledeable and humorous. He went into great detail about each animal, bird or reptile, providing us with lots of interesting information. Being so close to these magnificent creatures was truly magical. You can tell the animals are well cared for and loved. Larry, the crocodile, really knows he's got it made, and has charmed everyone at the sanctuary. Even I got the warm and fuzzies for this fella (ha ha). It was the highlight of our summer, and if we lived nearby, we'd volunteer our time to help in any way we can. Thanks to Jeremy, Mr. McCarthy and all who keep this sanctuary going. If you're coming to the area, it's well worth the visit!

What a find! This small and extremely well curated and designed animal sanctuary is the real deal. The staff seemed to be family with the animals they cared for and loved. Our tour guide, Jayme, had so much information and wisdom, and knew the animals personalities and stories. I loved being able to hold a few residents - Kinkajou, tortoise and snakes, I passed on the tarantula, and loved seeing the big cats and other critters. I learned a ton, and had a great time as a solo visitor. I would recommend to anyone, maybe with a focus on 8 yrs or older.

This was well worth the visit! Everyone in our family and the tour group really enjoyed seeing and, in some cases, holding these precious rescued animals. I especially loved holding March, a precious kinkajou. Our tour guide, Jeremy, was an excellent and well informed guide. It was obvious that he not only loves his work taking care of these animals, but he loves all the animals, too. McCarthy’s is definitely a MUST SEE sanctuary whether you are a visitor or a resident living in or near Palm Beach County. I am so glad our son-in-law found it on TripAdvisor!

We have visited a number of wildlife sanctuaries, and this one is at or near the top of the list. The animals are lively and active, the interaction with several of them was really enjoyable, especially the kinkajou, the grounds and enclosures are top-notch and really well-maintained, and the tour is very interesting. Alexis was outstanding as our tour guide. Cannot more highly recommend.

What a fabulous day. We were looking for a family activity that can be entertaining for 16 year old to 86. We found it in McCarthy’s wildlife sanctuary. We saw jaguars, lions, tigers and even a kookaburra. Thanks to Jeremy our tour guide extraordinaire. His knowledge about the animals was informative and his love for them was definitely reciprocated. Very impressed by the cleanliness and how well the habitats are kept. Saw wide variety of big cats, tropical birds, primates, etc…Jeremy, our tour guide made our visit special. You can tell how much he loves the animals and how much they love him.

Hands down one of my favourite experiences at a sanctuary. Jeremy was our guide and he was so knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The variety of animals was extraordinary. They even let you hold some of the critters if you want. I would highly recommend this tour to any animal lover out there. There is a small gift shop too and very reasonably priced.

Took grandkids for the first time. Our guide was Josie, excellent, very informative and interacted with kids during the tour. The facility was very clean, all the exhibits were clean. Learning about each animal, how they got there and how important it was to try and help save them from extinction. Would definitely recommend to anyone with interest in animals.

Repeat visit to this wonderful place. In addition to seeing these exotic animals as close up as I will ever get, it is clearly their home and it's run with love and respect. Don't expect your tour guide to wake up a sleeping crocodile for your entertainment. This is not a circus. It's a beautiful place where these orphaned or once-injured animals receive great care and enjoy immaculate, custom-living spaces. The cat I enjoyed the most was young Mufasa, a lion just coming into his mane and power. I loved holding the little kinkajou. Although he likes to sleep during the day, he (or she?) didn't seem to mind coming out and letting us hold him. I am not a snake person, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to hold (or be held by) their Burmese python. This is truly a unique, safe, informative place and, if you are in this part of Florida, I highly recommend you add a visit to your busy life. Thank you, Jeremy, for the tour with so many interesting facts about the critters who live at McCarthy's.

This experience is well worth your ticket price. Our guide, Josie, was phenomenal, she was so knowledgeable while handling children and questions so well. Seeing their variety of animals up close, learning so much about each animal, and getting the opportunity to touch or even hold animals truly makes this experience one of a kind.

We loved this tour! It was so interesting and educational. Jeremy was our tour guide and did a fantastic job educating us on the animals and it was heartwarming to see how much he loves all of them! He was super responsive and patient with the questions people had. I would definitely recommend checking out the tour if you will be near West Palm Beach. Just be sure to make reservations in advance. All proceeds go to taking care of the animals.

McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary was a memorable and amazing experience. My husband surprised me with a tour at this establishment. The admission fee was $50 per person and it was worth every penny. The tour was 2 1/2 hours and it was not only informative and educational but absolutely beautiful. Today was such a beautiful day and the group in our tour was actually small compared to the other groups. Such an amazing atmosphere with an awesome group of people. I would like to give props to our tour guide, she was not only very friendly and informative but the best tour guide. Thank you Josie Grisham!! You were AWESOME 👌 👏 This sanctuary is a non profit and you can instantly see and feel the love and care the animals recieve from all the care takers. I highly recommend coming to pay McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary a visit and tell your friends and family to come out too.

Wow—where do I even begin? Our visit to McCarthy's was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and enthusiasm, setting the stage for an incredible experience. The sanctuary itself is beautifully maintained, with spacious enclosures and a clear dedication to the well-being of the animals. It’s evident that this place is run with a lot of love and passion.

A huge shoutout to the owner, who was so friendly and welcoming. It’s always special to visit a place where the people behind it genuinely care about their mission, and you could feel that here. But the real star of our experience was Ericka, our tour guide. She was beyond phenomenal! Her knowledge about each and every animal was truly impressive, and the way she shared fun facts and stories kept us engaged the entire time. She was patient, kind, and made sure we had the best experience possible.

We had the chance to see an incredible variety of animals up close, including snakes, lions, tigers, cheetahs, and turtles. And the highlight? I got to hold an alligator! It was such a thrilling and unforgettable moment, and I have to give so much credit to Ericka for making sure everyone felt comfortable and safe while interacting with the animals. Her passion for these creatures and the sanctuary's mission was evident in everything she did.

We were absolutely blown away by this place! I wasn't sure what to expect rolling up in a residential neighborhood but we were completely surprised. Our guide Jeremy was fantastic. The animals were literally right next to you. I think Im ruined for future zoos. Nothing can compare. My kids held the tarantulas, huge yellow snake, (think Britney Spears style) petted a crocodile among a ton of other things. Definitely book this place if you're on the fence. You will not be disappointed!

This is a clean, shady, interesting place. Love the well-cared for animals, and the caring, knowledgeable guides. I've been there 4 times in the last few years and always enjoyed it, especially my most recent trip with Jeremy as a guide. He's well-informed and clearly loves what he's doing. The "residents" seem very healthy, relaxed, and happy. (4 years ago they even rehabilitated an injured Cooper Hawk we found in our yard and were able to release it after 10 days. Yay!)

Visiting McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is truly an amazing experience! This location takes in abandoned or illegally owned animals such as birds, lions, bobcats, foxes, and alligators. Our guide Josie was well informed about all the animals, personable, positive and so enjoyable to listen to. We learned several interesting facts about the animals and in the reptile section we were able to hold a baby alligator and a tarantula (scary!) My guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and said if was the highlight of their trip to south Florida.

We always return to McCarthy's whenever we visit Florida. Alexis, our tour guide, was knowledgeable and clearly loved these well cared for animals. The tour was interactive-- we were able to hold a kinkajou, a baby alligator, and a snake. Each enclosure is thoughtfully designed, providing ample space for the animals to roam and engage in natural behaviors. I highly recommend visiting McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary.

We had an amazing time visiting! When we arrived we were able to visit their turtle/alligator pond before our tour started. My son enjoyed feeding the fish and turtles. Our guide was Jeremy and he was fantastic. He was funny and engaging. You could tell how much he cares about the animals at the sanctuary. We were able to have many memorable animal encounters spaced throughout the tour. We held a kinkajou, tortoises, a baby alligator, snakes, and a tarantula. We got to see many big cats and birds. We enjoyed learning about all of the animals on tour. We cannot wait to go back and visit again!

We took a fantastic tour of this Wildlife Sanctuary, with Jeremy as our tour guide. It was only two hours and frankly, we could have stayed there all day. Jeremy shared so much knowledge and you could tell he has love for all of the animals there. The animals looked healthy and the sanctuary was very clean.

We went on a tour this week at McCarthy's Wildlife. Jeremy was our tour guide and he was excellent. He was so knowledgeable and fun and we learned so much.
You can tell he has a passion for what he does.
The animals are all so happy and well cared for and everyone we encountered was happy to be there.

We held a 4 month old Kinkajou and a baby Alligator and snakes. You get up close to so many animals.

The tour is about 2 hours and it is amazing. This should be on the list for anyone who loves animals and just wants to learn more about them.

This is a Non-profit and they need support, so the cost of taking a tour goes toward feeding the animals and caring for them. Donations are needed too to support the wonderful work they do.

Did not know what to expect when arriving at McCathy's Wildlife Sanctuary. We were greeted by friendly staff and an adorable Kinkajou. Josie gave an educational and informational tour of birds, turtles, a variety of 'cats' and reptiles. She knew her stuff and her passion for animals was apparent.
It was a nice touch to see Mark Mcarthy sitting in a rocker with a baby cheetah next to him.

Our 7& 9 yr.old grandsons had a blast! Their excitement lasted the entire visit! Tour guide, Bianca, did a wonderful job with information,answering questions,and allowing handling of the animals in a safe environment. She was very attentive to the whole group (12 people). A great spot for fun!

Better than a zoo. Our tour guide Sabi was excellent, very knowledgeable of the animal, where it's found in the world and if it would make a good pet.
She talked to the animals and they seemed to respond to her by talking or doing what she asked. If they didn't she would say they aren't in a good mood right now. She seemed to know their personalities. She was also good with the children in our group.
Plenty of birds, all kinds of cats, monkeys and snakes. Plus more. They take in unwanted, injured or habitat relocating animals.
Or entance ticket was $50, this helps with supporting this non profit. 1 and 1/2 hr tour.
Feed the turtles and alligators before the tour. I recommend this sanctuary to all ages.

Mccarthy's had nicely maintained animal a reptile enclosures and animals were obviously well cared for. We saw lions, Tigers, turtles, coatamondi and reptiles. There were also interactive reptiles like alligators and snakes.

McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is amazing. Our guide, Josie was exceptional in personality, her knowledge and her passion for each animal. This is a must see for kids and grandkids.

Brought here by relatives living in West Palm Beach. Very nice sanctuary for wildlife. Guides are well educated on their animals and take time to answer questions. Have some animals here you might not see anywhere else including a Liger ( Lion Tiger cross breed ).

What a beautiful property, and such a great way to help protect, and Rehab, our wildlife! My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and our guide Jayme did an amazing job! It was so cool to get up close and personal with so many beautiful animals!

We’ve been to many wildlife sanctuaries and this was even better than Where the Wild Things Are in Tasmania. At McCarthy’s, the animals are so beautiful - no scars, injuries, and so healthy and happy. The acreage was perfectly maintained and it was clear our guide Enka had a really close and caring relationship with every animal. She introduced each one to us, often fed them and played and talked with them during the tour which was 2 hours long seeing dozens of creatures and taking hundreds of pictures. It is priced so low for such a perfect tour. Only open Thurs-Sat so just reserve on line and they will respond and they’ll ready to give you a perfect experience. I would not recommend this for small children. Thank you, Enka!

What a fantastic discovery visiting this place. Jeremy was very knowledgeable and entertaining. GREAT TOUR!! The most spectacular animal was the White Tiger, but from the birds to the monkeys, the snakes it was all good.

This animal sanctuary is worth every penny. You walk very slowly as you learn about the animals they keep. It’s about 2-hour tour, very casual and interesting. Our guide Stacey was great, knew a lot and clearly loved the animals.

Josie was our tour guide today and she was phenomenal! We came all the way from Canada, Washington and Ohio and we were so impressed with the animals and the tour in general. The owner was super kind as well. We chatted with him a bit when we were heading out. You can tell a lot of love and work goes into taking care of the animals the way they do. It was by far the best experience when it comes to any wildlife. I have been to zoo’s and animal sanctuaries all over Canada and some in the USA as well. McCarthys is hands down the best experience over any zoo or animal sanctuary I’ve been to. Very interactive and knowledgeable. We will be back and I cannot wait to bring the kids next time. They would have LOVED this.

Yes it is $50 a person, but I feel you get your moneys worth. Our tour lasted about 2 hours. You have to make a reservation since they only do guided tours on certain days at 11, 11:30, 12, 12:30 and 1. The animals seemed very well cared for.
Our guide was Jeremy and he had so much information about each of the animals. We learned a lot. It was interesting seeing Jeremy interact with the big cats!
We enjoyed getting to handle select animals. We took lots of photos.
Parking is just outside the gate. They have a bathroom you can use prior to your tour. You can bring water, or purchase a bottle of water for $2.
Highly recommend McCarthys.

We were at the Sanctuary a few days ago. The animals were all amazing and well cared for. Very interactive where you can hold some of the animals or pet them. Jayme was our tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable you could tell how much she enjoyed what she does. Just a great experience!

We had the most amazing experience when we toured McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary! My 11 year old loved it and so did my husband and I. Jeremy was our tour guide and he was not only extremely knowledgeable but also engaging and kind. You can tell how much he truly cares about the animals. The animals are beautiful and well-cared for and it was awesome to hold a kinkajou, tarantula, snakes, etc. My daughter loves snakes and was thrilled to hold the albino Burmese Python. Of course everything was extremely safe for both the visitors as well as the animals. The grounds are wonderful and immaculately maintained. We even had the pleasure of meeting Mark McCarthy and Aneth and both were very nice. I cannot speak highly enough of the tour. It is definitely worth it! Thank you again, Jeremy!

This is not a zoo. Its a tour of the facility that houses animals, some that can be rehabilitated and released, some that cannot be released back into the wild. Our tour guide was Bianca. Great explanations as to why the animals are housed in the sanctuary. Insight into the habitats of each animal, origin and capabilities. Very clean place. We got to see some of the largest cats in the world. Best part-we got to see them up and walking about. In a zoo you strain your neck trying to find the animals that are usually as far away from the intruders who bother them. Here, they are happy to she Bianca. They come up to get a treat or a hello from someone they obliviously know and trust. Makes a difference. Want to hold a snake? You can. Spider? Go for it. I opted out of a tarantula running up my arm. Well worth the price.

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is an absolute gem in West Palm Beach. The guided tour was both educational and inspiring—our guide, Jeremy was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the animals and their care. We saw beautiful big cats, birds, reptiles, and more, all in a serene and well-maintained setting. You can tell the animals are loved and well cared for. We loved the hands on experience of holding some of the animals too! Highly recommend booking in advance—this is an experience you don’t want to miss!

We got to learn about all the animals at McCarthy's and get up close and personal with quite a few of them. All of the animals were in great condition, they all looked very healthy and happy. You can tell the animals are very loved. We had an excellent experience and would definitely visit again.

Amazing field trip!! We had a tour with only 7 people. The place is immaculate and the animals obviously well cared for. I got to hold a young kinkajous, that gave me kisses. I was in heaven. Also held a young alligator! The variety of big cats is wonderful. They were stunning. Make sure to hear the kuckaburra laugh. Highly recommend this place.

What a hidden treasure. We had a very enjoyable time. They don’t have a large collection of animals but you get a personal guide who takes time to tell you all about animals you do see. There’s also the chance to hold a bird or a reptile. Jeremy was our guide. He was great.
Many if not all of the animals were given to the sanctuary. Many were orphans from larger zoos and others were pets that the owners soon realized was not an ideal home pet.
All are kept in clean accommodations and are well fed. It takes about an hour for the tour and the walk is short. The kids on the tour really seemed to enjoy it as did the adults.
It’s not Disney but that’s a good thing.

This was such a personable experience to get up close with the animals. They are so well kept and taken care of. We were able to hold a few beautiful creatures for photos. My animal loving 10 yr old absolutely enjoyed this adventure and it was so well worth every penny. Our tour guide Bianca was outstanding. She explained in detail on each animal we visited. She gave our whole group an equal opportunity and she was so professional and polite. I would definitely recommend this sanctuary and i will be visiting again.

Beautifully located on the outskirts of West Palm Beach is this lovely sanctuary. The guided tour was excellent. Our guide was very knowledgeable of all the animals. It was easy to book over the phone. A must do if you are visiting West Palm Beach.

One of the best, if not the best, wildlife sanctuaries I’ve been too! My husband took me there as a Christmas gift and it was great! It was a nice, small group size and we got a lot of time at each enclosure to ask questions and take pictures and handle some of the animals. Jeremy was a great guide and was incredibly knowledgeable and funny and really made the whole experience!

We used this as a stop off whilst travelling from Key West to Orlando. We weren’t sure what to expect but it was amazing. Our guide Jayme did a great job. It was great to see some of the big cats they have took on or rescued and my lads enjoyed holding the animals.

Everyone in our group had the opportunity to hold a number of inhabitants and we were never feeling rushed. Our tour guide Josie was amazing! She spoke knowledgeably about the animals, their care, and how the animals wound up at the sanctuary. We, including grandkids 4 and 7 years of age, held a kinkajou, an alligator, a tarantula, and a BIG yellow 75 lb. boa snake! The big cats were amazing...so many different ones!.. as were the birds. The lemur was beautiful and playful. We also saw and touched large tortoises and held smaller turtles. The adults and kids alike thoroughly enjoyed this event!

Absolutely wonderful! Bianca was our guide and was chock-full of information regarding each individual resident and their species in general. Lots of big gorgeous cats that clearly knew her and strolled over to see us (within 3-4’). I’m not a snake person but they have the most amazing display of beautiful (venomous) snakes that I have ever seen. Lots of smaller lovely animals. The enclosures were beautifully constructed and spotless and all residents were exceptionally cared for. I love that this is a rescue sanctuary and not a zoo. Most residents were owner surrenders and unfortunately unable to be released into the wild. (The bobcat owner had even declawed her.) But some were recovering from injuries and would eventually be released. I would highly recommend a visit!

This tour exceeded all my expectations. From the beautiful macaws and parrots, to the snakes and tortoises (beautiful in their own way), to the astonishing variety of big cats that have found sanctuary here, the tour was fantastic. Keeper and tour guide Jeremy led a group of 15 of us through the habitats. He was knowledgeable and personable. A great way to spend about 2 hours on a nice sunny day!

This is the second year my friends and I have gone to McCarthy's as a way to celebrate my Birthday. It is a a wonderful experience beyond description. Warms your heart to see these beautiful creatures so well cared for. We all especially enjoy the intimate tour groups and ability to see the animals so close up. We were fortunate enough to get Jeremy as our tour guide again. Thank you Jeremy for making the tour extra special, informative & fun. My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful tour of McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary. Our tour guide, Erika, was great. Knowledgeable, personable and eager to tell the story of the Sanctuary and the many animals there. She had "fun facts" about almost every animal we got to view.
As a volunteer guide at a nature preserve in Fort Myers, I am always eager to go on tours. At times, that can lead me to be critical, but with Erika, I only learned more about how better to lead tours and engage the visitors. She knows her stuff and has all the right people skills.
The history of the Sanctuary is fascinating and encouraging.
My wife was able to use one of their wheelchairs on our visit which certainly increased her ability to get around and enjoy the Sanctuary.
This was a great tour and we'll be sure to visit again when we are next in the area.

What a gem! I went with my 9 and 12 year old boys and my parents. We all had fun! Our guide, Josie, was incredibly knowledgeable of the variety of species, their care, tendencies, and threats to life in the wild. Just the right balance of knowledge & fun for this teacher mom! My boys were fully engaged for the full 2 hour tour!

My husband and I even got to hold an albino boa constrictor, a baby crocodile, turtles and a tarantula. I give credit to all the sanctuaries who try their best to provide a life for these animals. Recommend it to all ages.

Fantastic visit as usual. Jeremy was a very knowledgeable and fun guide. We enjoyed seeing all the animals and visiting with the snakes.

The facility was very tidy and the animals all seemed healthy. The enclosures for the big cats were spacious, while some of the smaller animals seemed to yearn for more room. The reptile house was very interesting and toasty warm for everyone. Overall, it was a good visit with the animals.

This Zoo reserve is similar to one in Miami near Homested, but smaller. Jeremy the guide was super, very knowledgeable. The animals are kept in good shape, and they are simply beautiful. The tour is very interesting, and the chance to hold some animals is a very nice experience. Some animals are more cooperative than others, which is to be expected, so for photography, some big cats were too close to the fence, which was not good for photo, but it happens in any place with animals, like zoos, etc. Regardless, it was a great experience and I plan to repeat it

A short drive outside of the populated section of West Palm Beach, McCarthy's was worth the rearranging of my schedule so that I could line up with one of the weekend tours. Each one is approximately two hours and is given by a guide who explains its mission and its resident animals, ranging from birds to turtles to lemurs to big cats. It's very rare to be able to get so up-close and personal with wildlife, making this something for animal lovers not to miss.

I know, I know, why pay so much for a family run animal sanctuary rather then go to a zoo with many more animals for a lesser price? That was my question when I took my wife and grandchild to McCarthys this morning. Well I got my answer. It’s simply a great experience. Every guest is entitled to a 2 hour guided tour. Our guide was Jeremy, who was nothing short of fabulous. He genuinely seemed to love each and every animal in the park. The animals are all well taken care of and live in a meticulously crafted environment . Jeremy paints a vivid verbal picture of each animal. Simply fascinating. You even get to hold or touch many of the species. This place is NOT state or nationally subsidized, and while visiting you realize how much money it takes to run this place. It’s worth every penny of the admission price. A must go!!!

What a great surprise! It was above and beyond our expectations. The place is beautiful and lots of gorgeous animals. And our tour guide Josie was great; very friendly, sweet, and knowledgeable.

McCarthy’s Animal Sanctuary is the cleanest, most well kept animal haven I’ve ever been to. We got to be up close with all the animals, talk to birds, hold reptiles, pet turtles and watch all the big cats be fed. Jeremy, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about conservation and maintaining the livelihood of the animals while in captivity. It was clear the animals were happy and well taken care of. It was welcoming, easy to find and the grounds were pristine. I highly recommend to anyone visiting the West Palm Beach area especially with children. It was a wonderful experience.

This was hands down the best activity we did while on vacation in Palm Beach. The animals are well taken care of and enclosures are appropriate. Sabi was our guide and gave us great information on all of the animals we got to see. There are additional opportunities to support the sanctuary during your visit. We purchased a couple of awesome t-shirts in the gift shop.

Was amazing, animals were very active and cool and had multiple animals you could hold. Our guide Alexis was very knowledgeable and fun and worked well with the animals.

We were able to see some amazing animals and were even able to hold a few snakes, a tarantula, and a kinkajou (I think that is how you spell it)! We also had Jeremy as a tour guide and he was absolutely fantastic and we learned so much from him!

Took our girls here (8&10) on a quick family weekend getaway. They love visiting any animal related places and chose this over the west palm zoo and all they have been saying since we left is that was THE BEST place we have ever been too! You can tell the animals are extremely well cared for and Josie our tour guide was beyond amazing, informative and made the experience for our girls a blast! Great experience seeing the animals, including a number of big cats. It's not setup like a traditional zoo, so your tour is just a handful of people and you can get very close to the enclosures which makes for excellent photos. Proceeds from tour go to helping care for the animals so it's a great cause as well. They also engage in animal rehabilitation. Highly recommend.

My daughter and Iboth love animals and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Alexis our tour guide was so knowledgeable and had such an obvious connection with the animals. This beautifully kept sanctuary is obviously a home to these special creatures.

Our family was in town for Thanksgiving and our friends mentioned that this was a great place to bring our kids. They were so right. We had an amazing time. Sabi was our guide and she was incredible! Great non profit place that true cares about its animals and conservation. Tours are super informative and you get a lot of the backstory of many of their animals which was really cool. They let you hold and touch some animals. I could not say enough good things about this place and our tour guide Alexis. She was super knowledgeable and friendly. Answering all our questions. It was so much fun, can't wait till my son turns 5 to take him. You also get super close access to some big cats and snakes along with many different animals.

My son, granddaughter and I had a delightful tour with Alexis today. As always, she provided a wealth of information about the sanctuary and its many wildlife guests. Touring this facility is always a wonderful treat. Alexis was able to provide us with virtuoso performances by virtually every animal we stopped to visit. She was even able to eke out performances from the nocturnal cats who she was able to coax into showing off!

Yesterday, we discovered the hidden gem of McMarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary in West Palm Florida! If you've never been, you must visit! Well worth even a two hour drive (was 20 min for us!)

This incredible sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates surrendered or injured animals, providing them with a safe haven. With a dedicated staff, pristine setting, and intimate animal encounters, this sanctuary goes above and beyond.

Our two-hour tour with Sabi was super entertaining and informative. It was easy to see she has a beautiful connection with all the animals and she truly loves what she does at the sanctuary. We were treated to an up close experience with all the animals and even got to hold several of them. My absolute favorite was petting and interacting with all the tortoise 🐢 💕 Did you know they're like a dog and enjoy their shell and neck being rubbed??😳

This place is a treasure, one we plan to visit each time we’re down in FL. The $50 fee goes directly into the sanctuary and the well being of the animals. A price we happily paid for this fabulous experience!!

I researched many animal places to visit and selected this one. Our personal tour was perfect...about 20 people and everyone got a chance to handle a couple of the animals--I passed on the snakes, but all the kids in our tour handled them and that was great to see. Jeremy was a knowledgeable, fun tour guide and the grounds are very well-kept. It's nice to see animals so well taken care of. I watched the 1.5 hour you-tube tour a week before my visited, which I enjoyed. While not all the exact animals were on exhibit, it gives you an idea of how the animals get to McCarthy's and the value of their contribution to wildlife.

Took grandkids to the McCarthy Wildlife Sanctuary. Our Guide, Jeremy, was very knowledgeable and great with the kids(6&8). They have many animals including birds, tortoises, lions,tigers,sloths, and snakes. The tour was 1hr+ then the Gift Shop. It was a big hit with the kids.

This was my fourth visit to Mccarthys and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first! My four grandkids have all loved visiting here and they still talk about their experiences with the animals. I am sure I will visit again!

This was a great visit. My wife and I were in WPB for my job and extended through the stay through the weekend and found McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary on TripAdvisor. Bianca made the tour very enjoyable and informative. It was great to learn about all the animals that they are able rehabilitate and release back into the wild. Bianca demonstrated such a love for the animals and you could see it with her interaction with them. I highly recommend anyone in the area to go see it.

Our visit to McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary was fantastic. Our your guide, Alexis, was super knowledgeable about the animals, explaining how each one had come to live at the sanctuary and sharing details about the animals' personalities and ongoing conservation efforts at the sanctuary and around the world. It was clear that the animals are loved, respected, and well cared for. Our son had many questions and Alexis answered them all with patience and expertise. In spite of the high temperatures on the day of our visit, this was a truly memorable and unique experience and we'd definitely visit again if we're back in the area.

I had a few hours to kill before my flight out of West Palm Beach, so I drove out to McCarthy's to check it out. The sanctuary is amazing, super clean, lovely caretakers. The tour lasted two hours which I appreciated given the $50 admission price. I will certainly return and bring the whole family next time.

It lived up to its rating first of all we had such a great and knowledgeable tour guide Jeremy . At each animal he talked about so many things and I learned so much on that tour. The best thing is you get to hold snakes,baby alligator and I forgot what the other animal was called it was so cute .I have never seen so many types of the cat family … All the animals looked well taken care of and they definitely loved Jeremy ❤️.The gift shop at the end has some beautiful prints and adorable stuffed animals .Book your tour trust me your gonna love it🥰

The animals appear to be well cared for and are very interactive. You will get a close up look at exotic birds, adorable lemurs, and an extensive collection of reptiles. But the CATS STEAL the show! You will get to see lions and tigers up close.
Our guide, Josie, was fantastic. Knowledgeable, funny and very encouraging to the younger members of our group. We HIGHLY recommend asking for Josie.

My husband and I came here to see all the animals! Jeremy took us on a great tour and genuinely cares about the animals and provided the group with great facts about the individual animals and their species. I would definitely recommend coming here, rather than other places that have wild animals as this place rescues and rehabilitates animals and does what is in the best interest for the animals!

This place is amazing! You can feed gators and turtles, interact with snakes and learn a lot about some amazing big cats. The place is very clean and the animals are healthy looking. Don’t overlook this place - the private tours are great and you really get an up front opportunity to learn about some great animals. If you get Jeremy as your tour guide,it’s a bonus. He clearly has great relationships with the residents.

Second time here and highly recommend. Enjoyed the ability to hold animals, especially the albino python (60 lbs!) and a tarantula. Many big cats and other rescue animals - they do wonderful work for the community. Many great pics and very educational for kids - our 9 and 11 year old really paid attention, it was harder for the 6 year old to follow. Jeremy our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend visiting.

This was my second time here and this time they ask you to pay a fee which I think is only right. There were so many upgrades since last visit. Jeremy was our guide and he was very good about explaining things and taking his time. It’s so cool to be up close with each animal and getting to touch and hold a few. This is an MUST SEE stop while in Palm Beach!! Our group of 12 had an amazing time! Upon arriving we were greeted by Mark and his wife Ann. Our tour guide Bianca walked us through one of the cleanest facilities I have ever seen! Bianca was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly! She fielded all of our questions and kept the large group entertained. (Also for context: the day was chilly and rainy. We would do it all over again rain or shine!)

A friend at work told me about this place. We had so much fun. Josie our tour guide was great, very insightful, provided a lot of information. Getting up close with exotic animals and big cats was just the coolest thing ever.

Our guide was Jeremy. He has a special connection with the animals. He was very informative, extremely knowledgeable, and extremely personable. He brought the animals to life with his stories and information. Seeing the animals here is so much better than in a zoo as they are close up and personal. You are inches away from many of them and you can hold and pet many. McCarthy's does great work in rehabilitating animals and taking in animals that would otherwise die in our metropolitan areas. It was an excellent tour and an excellent place to support. I would go back again.

We visited yesterday for my daughter’s birthday. I’m so glad we did, you can tell they really love all the animals. Our tour guide Jeremy was super nice and was very knowledgeable about all the animals we encountered.

We have visited McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary three times. We do not live in Florida and love to take friends or family to McCarthy's if they join us in the West Palm area. Our guide, Jayme, was very informed about the animals and showed a love for them. The staff is very friendly. My one advice is to try to go on the first tour in the morning during the summer. By later in the day, the animals tend to be sleeping. There is a wonderful range of animals, from exotic birds to reptiles and mammals. The stories are interesting regarding how some animals came under the care of McCarthy's. Definitely worth the experience.

This was the best, most informative, exciting, interactive and entertaining wildlife tour we’ve ever been on. The tour groups are small, keeping the experience personal and stress-free. The facility rehabilitates injured and sick animals to be released back into the wild, and serves as a permanent home for surrendered exotic pets or other animals that cannot go back into the wild. The animals have plenty of space and lots of toys to play with, and the ones shown on the tour are happy to interact with visitors. They are very well taken care of.

Bianca was our tour guide. She was approachable, friendly, knowledgeable and obviously loves the animals. The animals clearly trusted her from the way they interacted with her. We got close to many animals including tigers, lions and a liger (of course, they were in their enclosures and couldn’t touch us). We even got to hold a baby gator, turtles, snakes and other animals whose names we can’t remember. We have never been so close to these kinds of animals before, and the experience was completely safe and entertaining for both us and the animals. This is a must-see for any nature and animal lovers. The experience was worth every penny. The other family on the tour with us was visiting a second time from out of state. If we ever come back to South Florida, we will also pay McCarthy’s another visit.

We have visited this sanctuary several times with always a great experience. It may seem a little expensive but the money goes toward great work in providing a home and in some cases rehabilitation of wildlife. Our guide Alexis (must have a tour reservation)was attentive to our group, knowledgeable and you could tell had a great rapport with all of the wildlife. Those who wanted could hold a snake, tarantula and alligator. A great experience for all ages

This wildlife sanctuary is a must do when in West Palm. The tour is up close and personal. Our guide, Alexis, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We saw so many types of wild animals to include tiger, lion, liger (yes a liger!), leopard, panther, snow tiger, exotic birds, many turtles, and a vast selection of reptiles.
All the staff were invested in the long term care and maintenance of the animals. This is a much different experience than a zoo; you actually feel connected to the animals in their habitats.

If you are thinking of visiting this sanctuary, I could not recommend it more. If you are visiting from out of state do not miss the chance. I have lived in Florida for quite a few years now and have done many tours, reserves, zoos, etc. Nothing has come close to McCarthy's Sanctuary. It is a different experience all together. It is just small, personal groups, making it that much more special. The guide brings you right up to the enclosures, where I was closer to these beautiful animals than I have ever been in my life. It is safe though, so do not worry. Our tour guide Jeremy was amazing in every way. You could tell every single one of these animals loved him. When he got to their area they would all spring into action, walk right up to him, start showing off, rubbing against the cages. Every word he said they would be right there, seemingly listening to his knowledgable commentary along with us humans. You can tell the animals are all loved and well taken care of. They looked healthy and happy and had plenty of room to run around and play. Jeremy had a small treat for every big cat, where some of them would stand up on two legs to reach the treat, showing their true size. Jeremy also let each person in the group hold an adorable kinkajou, a baby alligator, snakes, spiders, etc. We all had plenty of time with each animal to soak in the moment and take very cool photos. This sanctuary was full of wonder and I honestly did not want to leave. A must go for any animal lover! Thank you to the sanctuary for the experience, and thank you Jeremy for making our day there perfect.

This place is truly a South Florida treasure! What the McCarthy’s have created here is nothing short of incredible. Essentially an exotic animal refuge, they have a wide range of rescued animals that you can not only see but often interact with. We loved getting up and close and personal with not only a variety of big cats, but also birds, alligators, monkeys, snakes and even a tarantula! Our tour guide, Josie, despite being new (her second tour ever!) was extremely knowledgeable, personable and fun! She seemed to know all the animals by name, and playfully interacted with many of them, and was a veritable wealth of knowledge. We learned a ton, and both my 13 year old daughter and 80 year old mother enjoyed it. Overall just a great feeling to the place. Highly recommend!

A pleasant surprise! Many animals and birds, well taken care of! Worth a visit if in West Palm Beach. Josie is a great guide. Will go again.

We really enjoyed this up-close look at the animals at the Sanctuary. Our group of 19 was led by Jeremy, who did a great job introducing us to each resident and telling the history of each one. This is more than a typical zoo experience, as you get more information about the animals, the species, and you get to know each one. We highly recommend this experience!

Our guided tour was amazing! The animal habitats were so clean and well maintained. Our guide Alexis was fantastic….so knowledgeable, and professional. We so enjoyed the demonstrations and the opportunities to actually handle some of the animals. I highly recommend this facility! They do wonderful work educating us, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for their animals.

This was our 6th time here and it never disappoints. Everytime you come is like the first time! Always something new, always another example of selfless people caring for beautiful animals. Our guide this time was Josie, which was absolutely amazing. Very knowledgeable and has a wonderful personality. My son was in town from Ft Drum and when asked what he wanted to do, he said to come here. This is our favorite day trip adventure. They even had umbrellas delivered to us mid-tour when it started to rain. You can tell the people that work here love their jobs and the animals they care for.

We had a fantastic time on this tour. My kids were engaged the whole time and the guide Bianca was informative and detailed. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a special outing with family.

Sabi took us on an incredible animal journey at McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary! We were closer to these beautiful creatures than ever before. Sabi easily narrated an interesting, educated, and advocating story for each of the sanctuary animals. What a treat so close to West Palm Beach! This was by far worth every dollar...as well as another visit down the road. Easy to navigate the grounds with seating areas always close by, our adventure lasted just shy of 2 hours...a perfect opportunity to connect with nature in so many ways...and then get right back into all of West Palm Beach's many other treats. Don't miss this one!

McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is our favorite destination in the Palm Beach area. After visiting last year, this is what I chose to do for my birthday this year and we were even more excited about our tour, which I didn't think possible.
Josie, our tour guide, is such a treasure. She not only shares specific characteristics about each and every animal, but she is also so knowledgeable about the species itself. She was very personable and I hope she will write a book with all the information that she shared with us. Her insight and passion about exotic pet surrenders was phenomenal and we look forward to visiting again.

Wonderful wildlife experience. We got so close to many endangered animals. Got to see tropical birds talk and laugh, tortoises, snakes, large cats. Our guide, Bianca, was exceptional. Highly recommend for kids and adults alike.

This place is great. Family friendly and a staff that is knowledgeable and helpful. The animals are well kept. Jeremy our guide was fantastic. Able to answer questions and obviously loved by the animals.

Worth every penny! Bianca was our tour guide and she was amazing! Very knowledgeable and welcoming. We not only got a tour with background information of each animal but we also got to carry some animals as well. My boys were not that interested at first but once we were done they expressed how happy they were that they didn’t miss it. I recommend this place to anyone that loves animals. Would love to come again in the winter.

Alexis was our tour guide and her depth of knowledge is amazing. She not only so smart but also very personable. The area is very clean and the animals are healthy and humanely housed. This is a beautiful sanctuary- not a zoo.

We had a fantastic tour from Jeremy, who was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the animals in the sanctuary. We had the opportunity to get up close to everything from kincajou to big cats and alligators. The sanctuary is also a great cause, rehoming animals and rehabilitating and rereleasing native species.

My second time (last time was pre Covid) and first time for my partner and his daughter. We all had a FABULOUS time. The tour is engaging, educational and enriching. Our guide/zookeeper Bianca was very engaging, funny, and you could tell how much she loves the animals.

Fantastic experience. All animals are well cared for, and everything is in great shape. All employees are amazing. Special thanks to our guide, Erika; the way she is taking, you can see she is very passionate about what she is doing. Probably the best guide that I've ever met. Altogether, a fantastic place and an amazing experience.

Can’t say enough great things about this place! Bianca was our tour guide and she was fabulous - so knowledgeable and also very patient with all of the young children asking a lot of questions (3 of whom were mine). The place is full of amazing animals and Bianca told stories about each of them. Getting to hold and interact with several animals was the highlight, especially for my kids. They held baby turtles, a baby alligator, and a snake. They even got to walk alongside some large tortoises. I can’t wait to go back again the next time I am in town!

The tour is about 80 min long. You’ll learn a lot and be able to take some great pictures.

The tour guide was great at answering questions too. We also got to meet the owner this time, which was nice! Definitely a memorable day for the whole family!

We had a wonderful day at McCarthy's. We were guided through the station with a small group. Bianca did a great job. She told us a lot about the animals, but her story also told us a lot about the animal species. Highlight for our daughter were the many animals that could also be taken on hand. We would book again immediately.

It was a really wonderful and interactive tour. The place was clean and well kept. Animals seemed healthy and well cared for. At first I thought it was pricey, but after doing it, I feel it was an excellent value and happily tipped our guide - who earned it! Jeremy, our guide, was wonderful and you could see his deep relationship and care for the animals.

This place is INCREDIBLE! It’s evident the animals they rescue are so loved and well cared for. No animals lying off in the distance. Each running to great their favorite keepers and show off for guests. Josie was AWESOME and worked hard to ensure our experience was special. I loved seeing the big cats play and beg for scratches just like a house cat. Such a different experience from a zoo. Don’t miss it!!

An amazing, unique experience! You get to see the all of the many different animals up close and even get to hold several. Alexis was a great, knowledgeable tour guide who was clearly well informed about the animals. Most importantly, the animals seem to be treated well, many, especially the big cats, came up to Alexis for pets during our tour.

Wow ! What and awesome trip. I’ve been following McCarthys for a while now and finally got a chance to get out here and visit. Best life choice I’ve made so far hahahaha. It really was great. The property was maintained and the animals were thriving! It was so cool being able to see all the animals so closely. Really the star of the show was our tour guide Jayme!! She had so much information about each animal we saw. Answered all of our questions and made it a wonderful experience. Thank you Jayme and McCarthys. I can’t wait to return and learn more and hopefully help out more.

Our tour guide Alexis was personable and knowledgeable, and has developed an amazing connection with the animals. I’ve been coming here for years when I lived in Florida, and every time I’ve visited since, I always take a tour to see the wonderful staff and ambassador animals of this amazing sanctuary. It’s makes me feel good that all of my proceeds for the tour, etc, goes directly to the care and love for these amazing creatures. Visited McCarthy’s wildlife sanctuary on April 19, 2024. My wife and I took her best friend who was visiting from Boston to the sanctuary. Our guide was Bianca, who was very knowledgeable regarding the animals, and the history of how they arrived at the there. The tour took approximately two hours and was wonderful! The variety of animals that they house was amazing. The staff were very friendly and willing to answer questions. Hats off to Bianca! Thank you all for a great visit and we will be back again for our third time.

We had a great experience here for a tour with three adults and two kids. Our guide Jeremy knew so much about the animals—he clearly cared for them and they were very happy to see him. The sanctuary was immaculate and the entire experience couldn’t have been better. We all got to hold a kinkajou, tortoise, baby alligator, snakes, and a tarantula. Would recommend to all!

Everything about McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary made the visit so so worth it! The location is convenient and easy to get to, and is set up beautifully. I was able to use the bathroom before the tour and it was also extremely clean. Our tour guide, Jeremy, did such a wonderful job educating us about the various wildlife at the sanctuary. It was very clear that he knew his stuff; it was equally clear that he adores each and every animal there! Although it was a really hot day when we went, and several of the big cats weren't feeling up to "entertaining" us guests (I can't blame them!), it was still a stellar experience. You do get opportunities to hold various animals - which was one of my favorite parts - so you are able to both learn about these awesome critters AND get some great photos! I would definitely visit again. Be sure to ask for Rosie!! 🕷️

I have never seen such a clean establishment and happy, healthy looking animals in a sanctuary/zoo before. Our guide Jayme was knowledgeable and obviously loved the animals deeply. The collection of snakes (mostly venomous) was very impressive. The big cats were chuffing, purring and playful. And we were just a couple feet from the chain fence they were rubbing up on. Our experience was a highlight of our vacation.

McCarthy’s Wildlife Sanctuary is such a killer experience! My girlfriend and I took my 9 year old nephew here while he was visiting from Maine and being able to get so up close and personal with the different kinds of animals that they have was so exciting for him (and us)!! Also, being a wheelchair user it was amazing to navigate the entire property without a single accessibility issue, which is often rare with adventures like this!! Our guide, Josie, was extremely knowledgeable, interactive and funny during the whole tour!

The animals are in great enclosures and the tour guides are knowledgeable of the history of each individual animal as well as their history in nature and their history at the sanctuary. Jeremy was a friendly tour guide and showed us his knowledge and care as he guided us through each area. He continued to be patient with our questions and shared his love for each animal by name. He gave us plenty of time for photos and allowed us to even hold a few of the safe animals. The sanctuary has staff that communicate with each other to ensure a good experience for each guest and their different needs. Can’t wait to go back!

We had a free day to ourselves at the end of my business trip, so we took a chance. Didn’t pay attention to the reservation requirements, but thankfully it was a slow day and the tour guides were gracious enough to allow us to slip into the last group of the day. Bianca was our tour guide, and she did a wonderful job explaining the lives of each animal in the sanctuary as well as their natural habitat. The big cats were beautiful! The kuckaburra laugh will be unforgettable. Highly recommend that if you have the time make RESERVATION and visit.

McCarthy’s is awesome. It’s not huge, but well stocked and their staff are very knowledgeable and passionate about the wildlife. Jeremy was our guide and he was great- a wealth of information about the wildlife, humorous and obviously loves his job. The whole family (3 generations… with the youngest being 5 years old) had an amazing time!
