Some of the best parts are gone...

By MinnesotaFriendly |

This is a remarkable place and probably deserves five stars. The only reason I read it three stars is that they remove some of the best elements that the garden had grown into. They had planted massive trees years ago they had become very established and created very private spaces so you could focus on individual sculptures.

They also had a beautiful artistic greenhouse that was low little walk through especially in the winter time that is no longer a greenhouse but an open walkway with the glass roof on it. However kudos to the Walker for Investing in it. Personally I think they could’ve done wonderful things and had some of the great elements remain along with new installations of art.

If you’ve never been there by all means go. If you have not been there since the big renovation, you might be shocked if he might be delighted with some of the new things

Interesting urban sculpture garden

By Retired and traveling |

You don’t need but half hour here, but well worth the stop. Easy access to see all the sculptures with well laid out paths. Parking lot adjacenr which charges a few dollars for an hour. Garden is free!

Cool!

By Curious446526 |

On our way to the airport with a whole lot of time to kill, we happened across the sculpture garden. With luggage in tow, we did a quick walk around because 1. It was free. 2. It was very unique. 3. It was something to kill an hour or so. I dog's the walk just fine with a rolling suitcase, so I imagine that it would be equally accessible to wheelchairs ...and the like. The spoon with the cherry in it is the most famous piece, but I liked some of less popular sculptures too.

A Garden for All Ages

By Yolo Mina |

This is a cool garden with nice sculptures that were appreciated by both the kid and the adults in our crew. Early visit to the garden served asa well since there was not a lot of people around yet. Parking was plentiful and place was centrally located.

Whimsical Sculptures!

By NewRecipesForLife |

Enjoy the eye candy of whimsical statuary, gardens, and green grass during a leisurely stroll at Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. It's really peaceful.

Sustainability leader!

Fascinating to read how this park creates sustainable practices for water conservation and distribution! Nice job Minneapolis!

Unique

By advcards |

Pay parking lot, machine or app. Interesting walk to see all the sculptures some were well done others very unique. Good way to kill an hour.

YES

By SMe |

Lovely park in what looked like a nice area, nice apartments overlooking it. Snow covered so it was difficult to wander around but enjoyed the sculptures even if they are a bit random! Good photo op.

Respite for the soul

By Rachel G |

While visiting Minneapolis for business, I found this wonderful peaceful spot in the middle of the crazy traffic. I enjoyed touring the sculptures the day I arrived and then returned for a run around the park the next day. Lots of people around but everyone was happy and smiling in the sunshine. Great diversity of art; looking forward to going back some day.
The museum next door has a lovely patio cafe from which one can view the park - that's how I found it initially.

A fun park to walk around... and enjoy some vibrant sculptures!

By Nostalgiyeah |

This park is centrally located in Minneapolis and is a good place to take a stroll. It has multiple interesting sculptures and works of art and each of them is accompanied by a description of the art itself and the creator. The famed Spoonbridge and Cherry is located in the middle of the park and makes for some interesting viewing. There are some additional sculptures too that I found interesting, including the giant blue rooster (which is described as being lifelike and unreal at the same time), Black Vessel for a Saint (which was constructed using leftover materials from the process of brick-making), Arikidea (which is a huge metallic swing) and many more. Strolling around the park was a good experience. There were a few folks taking a jog or stroll in the park when we visited but it wasn't crowded at all. When we visited in spring, the grass was still growing, I expect the greenery to be much more lush in summer. This park is located close to the Basilica of St Mary which is another beautiful structure worth visiting. Walker Art Museum is located across the street from the Sculpture Garden as well.

A fun place,that's truly different

By Jayne Y |

An unusual fun place to see a popular pieces of lical art in a park. Worth seeing. Take the time to learn the story behind these items.

beautiful

By Turner S |

We got lucky with perfect weather in late August and enjoyed the beautiful park. The sculptures are fun to see. The grounds are large so you get plenty of green space. It was a relaxing stroll. Doesn’t take much time to walk through and you get good views of the Minneapolis skyline.

Very cool place

By Heddy G |

Easy to get to park that is well worth a visit. Very cool sculptures to check out. Clean bathrooms available also

A pleasant place to take some gentle exercise and appreciate some works of art.

By Roberts69 |

Located to the west of Loring Park and the Basilica of Saint Mary the 'Minneapolis Sculpture Garden' is an 11-acre (4.5 ha) park that operates in collaboration between the Walker Art Center and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. The Sculpture Garden reopened on 10th June 2017 and is one of the largest urban sculpture gardens in the USA with 40 permanent art installations and several other temporary pieces that come and go. It is a pleasant place for a walk whilst enjoying the artwork on display. As with all art some of the sculptures were to my liking and other pieces seemed somewhat ordinary. For me the favourite, (maybe because I love cherries), is the garden's centrepiece the "Spoonbridge and Cherry" (1985–1988) fountain designed by husband and wife Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen. I also liked the huge "Hahn/Cock", a sculpture of a giant blue fibreglass cockerel by the German artist Katharina Fritsch. Which I only just realised was one of two such sculptures with the other having being displayed in London's Trafalgar Square from July 2013 until Feb 2015. I suggest when visiting that you walk, taking the pedestrian bridge, the Irene Hixon Whitney Bridge, from Loring Park. This bridge is a work of art in itself and gives nice views of the Sculpture Garden and Basilica before you start exploring the garden in detail. Worth a visit.

Very nice and pretty eclectic park

By Ross M |

Cool sculptures. Giant blue chicken and a cherry on a giant spoon. Covered with snow but a fun park and would be super in the spring and summer.

Nice walk

By PartisanOwl |

Enjoyed a sunny afternoon walking round the sculpture garden. Easy to walk to from downtown through a few nice parks.

Sculptures are pretty varied. Good photo opportunities. Got a little hot in the summer heat but worth a wander around if you have a spare hour downtown.

A Must!

By Sacmbc |

Such a fun way to experience the city! Some really unique sculptures to enjoy on a nice day. Be sure to check out the wind chime tree!

Good Fun. Nice Sculpture

By Gee Emm |

This is a fun place to visit. The sculpture ranges from playful to incomprehensible. Nice place to walk around. Definitely worth going to for a few hours. Easy walk from downtown hotel.

Interesting

By crystalia |

It's a nice hour walking around. I didn't get all of it. We walked most of it but we had a schedule to keep. There are a few things I really enjoyed, featured below. Took a couple videos under the windchimes, it was lovely there. Loved the healing Dakota maze, which is so beautiful and calming.

Great art, good information!

By Emily M |

We really enjoyed this sculpture garden. Nice variety, good information, spread out enough that it didn't feel crowded. Definitely recommend.

Such pretty sculptures in the snow!

By Jilly070 |

I have never been here and have always wanted to see the spoon with the cherry, so I took a stroll around the place on a cold winter day after lunch. I am so happy to say I have finally been! The cherry on the spoon, the blue rooster and the LOVE sculptures were my favorites. The blue of the rooster was so vivid against the white snow!

Worth an hour of your time with something to appeal to most peoplr

By Jasmine38Chichester UK |

We visited primarily to see the famous spoon and cherry sculpture but enjoyed many of the other installations too.

Although there are a number of sculptures that my husband classes as 'arty farty', there are also quite a few that will appeal to those that, like my husband, are not a fan of modern art.

Well worth a visit. We spent about an hour walking around - the park is not that big and all the sculptures are quite close together.

The Walker Gallery and park are a little way from downtown. We managed to get a free hour of on street parking but there is garage parking next to the Walker for $5. There is also a nice cafe there with indoor and outdoor seating.

Lovely garden and relaxation picnic place!

By peanutsNewYork |

Although it is basically a sculpture garden across from the Walker Museum, it is a lovely shaded huge area with plenty of benches and short walking areas to stroll through, You will see pictures of the symbol of the huge cherry on a spoon all around Minneapolis but this is the place where it is. There is a docent tour available through the garden, but many people seem to just come and enjoy the garden area to read and stroll.

Somewhat disappointing

By Globe_trotter_100 |

OK, but many fewer sculptures compared to last time. Where did they go? All right for maybe 30 minutes if you like abstract sculptures.

Fabulous park for a nice stroll and great for out-of-towners

By Lieke100 |

Whenever we have out-of-towners visiting, we swing by the Sculpture Garden. It is a great park for a quick walk through when it is cold out, or to stroll and linger on a beautiful Spring/Summer day.

Beautiful

By Pizzalover245 |

This is a must see in Minneapolis and the restaurant is excellent. The restaurant is very expensive but was probably the best restaurant we ate at in Minneapolis.

Gorgeous in All Seasons

By Bill K |

This is a special treat for anyone that enjoys art and walks. The thing I think I like best is that the garden looks different during each season of the year. Even if you have visited before, it will look different depending on the seasonal backdrop.

My most recent visit and the impetus for this review was during the spring when the forsythias are in full bloom. Their golden framing of most of the sculptures is my favorite.

This is a great free thing to do with a little exercise thrown in to burn off some travel blahs.

First trip here since the remodel.

By CLL1948 |

Beautiful place. They have moved some things and added a lot of new ones so it was nice to come back. The new items (except for the dark blue rooster) are near the Walker Art Gallery. Enjoyed it very much.

Beautiful sculptures

By Ann L |

Must visit the sculpture garden. They are amazing. Wonderful place for a stroll and you can also picnic there. Easy to get to from downtown on the #4 or #6 bus. And it's free.

Brilliant Sculptures

By Foodange |

We were excited as we drove up to park in the Art Gallery, seeing all these wonderful sculptures from a distance but close up they were incredible.
A vast array of different styles, old and new, even a couple of Henry Moores to remind us of home. It was all beautifully spaced out with good views of downtown high rises.
We both particularly enjoyed the giant French cock.

Wonderful site

By Kim W |

There is plenty of parking and nice walking paths throughout the sculpture garden. Very interesting pieces of art - I'm glad we stopped to take a look while visiting Minneapolis.

Fun outdoor way to spend an afternoon

By dustythoughts |

This iconic park/outdoor museum is part of the cultural landscape of Minneapolis, due in large part to the spoon-with-cherry sculpture that's in the middle of a lake. This whole park has a bunch of different fascinating sculptures for enjoyment - so walk around, look at the sculptures, enjoy some nice weather and fresh air, and hang out. Minneapolis is good with parks and the outdoors, so it. makes sense for this museum to be outdoors in a park.

Great walk with great views

By Gina M |

Great walk to check out some sculptures and see the awesome skyline of Minneapolis. Doesn't take long to walk through the park, but definitely worth a visit!

Great strolling!

By Douglas |

If you've never been, the Sculpture Garden is a nice place to stroll after you've been to Loring Park or the art museum across the street. Some wonderful sculptures and nice views of the cityscape in the background. Highly recommended if you visit Minneapolis.

Spoon and Cherry-licious views of Minneapolis

By Janan J |

One of my all-time favorite art parks to visit in my hometown of Minneapolis! Wander around the park and enjoy a wonderful view of The Basilica of Saint Mary and Loring Park.

Always good

By J H |

Great place near Downtown for kids of all ages
It is moP all free
Restrooms are nearby also
Nice place to walk around in the winter or summer

Exciting Sculpture Garden!

By Kirstin D. |

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden was closed for several years of renovations a couple years ago, but I have enjoyed it since childhood when the sculptures were still gems in Museum interiors.

It is a charming Garden just across the Arty walking bridge from Loring Park, three huge churches, and the edge of Downtown Minneapolis. The collection has increased with some some intriguing new pieces, notably the enormous Blue Rooster. And it keeps the staples of the past 40 years of excellent art. The Spoonbridge and conservatory and a Butterfield horse, among several dozen great works. The gardens are now augmented with prairie plantings. There are almost more impressive sculptures than one can absorb in one visit. Truly an exciting visit!

Iconic Spoon and Cherry

By dmittleman |

This sculpture garden is lovely and has some nice works. I would have expected more sculptures but was happy with what was on offer.

Lovely, clean looked after park

By lee t |

Beautiful, clean park with amazing sculptures in the middle of a city , well worth a look if your in the city

A Minneapolis Staple

By nes24 |

I really enjoyed the sculptures here, set within a garden amidst the Minneapolis skyline. It’s not huge so it’s more of a 20-30 minute visit. Parking garage cost $4. Entrance is free. Easy to socially distance.

Right in the heart of the city

By Carolyn S |

This 19-acre Sculpture Garden sits aside downtown Minneapolis, with world famous pieces to walk around and photograph. We've not seen anything to compare. You must see it!

Exercise and Interesting Art

By Darryl C |

Some very interesting pieces spread out, with the headliner being the Spoonbridge and Cherry. We visited in the dead of winter which gave some of the pieces a more eerie feeling. It's definitely a worthwhile attraction, and even if you do not appreciate the art, it's a great way to enjoy a good with with visuals.

Great art

By DiverAMEN |

Great to visit. Recommend to everyone. Free entry. Various artists. Only few steps away from bus station.

Minneapolis sculpture garden

By Sandra Dee |

Absolutely loved seeing the various sculptures outside in the park. So creative and artistic. Something for everyone. One very unique thing was a large tree filled with many many wind chimes singing in the breeze. Nice to be given a view through the vision of an artist.

Great outdoor sculpture park

By auditor_g-s |

Love it, easy to access, free, wonderful sculptures. Winter can be a bit dull, but at least very quiet to wander around

Art means different things

By Letsroadtrip |

It all depends on why you go, as a place to walk and talk with friends I guess it's not bad. I'm just one of those people who want my art in a different form, not two pieces of metal or a giant spoon. The only one that amused me was "snowman from the back" the only piece where the artist realized they were pulling a fast one on everybody. Maybe I just don't get it but I'd rather spend my time at the Basilica nearby. That is art though it may not be listed as such.

Worth visiting

By Pulchritudinous |

It was very cold that day yet we still went ahead to take pictures of the iconic bent spoon with cherry. We also saw the giant blue rooster.

The park is huge!

Best at Night

By Lisa O |

Sculpture Garden was redone a couple of years ago. It is a fun place to take family on a nice day or when visiting the Walker. We like to take people from out of town there at night though, they thought about the shadows and lighting makes it a magical place.

Beautiful Sculpture Garden

By KasiaQ18 |

This is an awesome art area! Go at your own pace, view and photograph whatever you find interesting. It was an overcast day, with a few sprinkles here and there, but I am very glad we made this a point of interest on our recent visit.

A Nice Walk, Great Photos

By TACLYO |

It's a medium sized sculpture park. If you're in the area, definitely stop to see that famous cherry spoon. Lots of great photo opportunities.
Another excuse to take a scooter ride!

This is an amazing place--not to be missed

By Kim R |

We enjoyed a recent walkabout at the MPLS Sculpture Garden on a gorgeous summer day. I love everything about this place--ample parking, convenient restrooms (thank you!!) and the (new?) prairie gardens--so much to see and enjoy. Low key, self-paced. Much appreciated.

Quick stop - Must see

By Todd M |

You're in Minneapolis, why wouldn't you stop here to see these iconic things.

We stopped here to kill an hour until we could check in to our AirBnB.

Spoonbridge and Cherry and Blue Hen were the most interesting. Other things were fun to see to.

Parking nearby.

Great for a summer day!

By Meredith James |

My best friend who lives in Minnie was showing me around on a hot summer day in July. This was a great spot to see all of the beautiful sculptures and get that classic pictures from afar of me "holding" the cherry stem!

Nice spring day walk in the park

By Sprandel5 |

We stopped by here on a nice sunny 70 degree day in April. I kept saying how I am sure this place is gorgeous during the summer and such. Things were still brown and just a little bit of budding of the trees on this day. The location is easy to get around, we parked on the street at a meter. There are bathrooms on location by the baseball field. There were several gentleman working on cutting tall grasses and prepping the lawns as spring has finally sprung here. We would love to come back during different seasons. We spent about an hour here total.

Outdoor sculpture and wild flowers

By Barbara Z |

Well worth the visit. The sculptures were varied and interesting. We had light drizzling rain when we visited, but the wild flower plantings brightened the whole garden.

Beautiful place to visit

By Gülüm R |

It’s a beautiful landmark in Minneapolis. I always take our out of town visitors here. It might be hard to explore it in the winter but the rest of the year is a perfect spot to spend time with friends and family.

For The First Time In Forever

By Dara |

When I first saw this beautiful sight I knew it was Destiny.
The weather was perfect, the people were extremely friendly and there were A lot of picture-perfect spots!
Make sure to bring a picnic basket so you can eat in this wonderful paradise.
Nothing went wrong on that day so you better start packing to go too!

Minnesota Trip

By sheilal794 |

My tour guides, made sure I definitely saw the sculptures. Missed getting a picture of the cherry but was able to capture the Blue Rooster. They also took me through many areas of the city, as well as a ride through St. Paul.

Beautiful, 'Must see' garden

By Previa1994 |

I visited Minneapolis Sculpture Garden one afternoon in August. What a great attraction - Great landscape, Great sculptures, Great walking paths. And, it is all free. Several pieces are interactive which takes the whole experience to the next level. Sculptures provide opportunities for memorable photos. Do not forget to walk on the colorful pedestrian bridge which is artfully designed and provides a great lookout point to get a full view of the sculpture garden.

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden should not be missed when visiting the city.

Nice park with huge sculptures

By Jaime Cazotti |

This park has nice and huge sculptures. I confess I was expecting the cherry to be more red but it is a nice place to visit. The blue of the chicken sculpture is absolutely gorgeous.

Pretty cool!

By Oliver Tuttle |

This place is pretty cool! Very interesting scultures and a great place for photos! Also great lighting during sunsets, we pretty much had a photoshoot here and it was fun!

Very rewarding

By sisaba2018 |

Beautiful park with beautiful statues, beautiful surroundings to wander around and stay a little longer at dicerse sculptures, impressive

Stumbled upon it - and happy about that

By WtoCtoTO |

After dinner nearby, we went for a walk over the freeway and stumbled upon the Sculpture Garden. So happy that we did. From above it was great to see all the installations. Beautiful grounds and art. A nice, peaceful walk.

Nice outdoor sculpture garden!

By bmorris1929 |

Stopped in quickly on business trip. Easy access and close to other attractions. Nice place to get out of the car and walk around. Some really interesting pieces. You can spend fifteen minutes or over an hour depending on what you like to see. Worth a stop in. Only drawback......pay to park.

Free Art Outdoors

By Jim T |

Located next to an indoor museum, the sculpture garden is outdoors and free for all to enjoy. Some of the art is interactive, and all are located in a beautiful, natural setting with the backdrop of the city for contrast. One could breeze through in under an hour, or take all day to soak in the atmosphere.

Always a Pleasure on the eyes.

By redreekie |

Every time we visit Minneapolis we come to this park. It is eye appealing, fun, relaxing, excellent for pictures and most of all, unique. We live the giant spoon and pond. Highly recommended.

Great place for groups, family or just a stroll on your own.

Nice little park

By Auscoach |

The park is really well set out with nice shade and facilities. The art is a matter of taste but they are well done and make sense... well not to sure about the blue roster!

But if you are in the area then it’s well worth the visit

Beautiful

By KayleighRose92 |

Oh my, this place is great, easy to get to and if you walk through loring park to get to the sculpture garden, it’s beauty upon beauty.

Didn’t really expect much but I was absolutely blown away by the calmness and beauty of it all.

Very tidy and well looked after

Minneapolis Sculpture Gardens

By KellieandDenis |

Beautifully kept grounds with interesting and informative sculptures. It’s a great place to spend some time with the family outside and be able social distance as well. Parking lot was easily accessible and close by. We enjoyed our day here

Not for me

By Bob B |

Not much to see really and parking was 4.00. We were there maybe 20 mins. I would save the money and go to the como zoo and conservatory!

Charming Stroll Among Huge Chicken and Cherry Scupltures

By stevehh2525 |

While the giant cherry is featured in most promo photos, the giant blue chicken might well be the star of this sculpture garden. A 30 minute easy stroll lets one see all of the statues even with stops.

Great place for a walk

By Nel |

Great place to visit on a good weather day. Bridge over the highway to another park. Museum next door free on the day we were there.

Art Outside!

By Kathleen M |

A great place to enjoy modern art while being outside. Good for kids. Interesting pieces. A really fun big blue chicken! The perfect summer stroll.

excellent sculpture garden

By Roberto De Robel |

Put this way where on earth do you see a cherry on a large spoon ? No where and it's great place to visit Minneapolis for that reason. I do go there every weekends just for fun

Fun for adults & kids

By Renee |

Great iconic sculptures (I mean who has never seen the spoon & cherry?), with some kinetic sculptures. The wind chime tree? Delightful place to sit & people watch!

Family fun!

By wajisaj2019 |

Nice outdoor experience for families. Beautiful sculptures, greenery and flowers. We had a fun evening with our kids. Good place to learn and teach art.
Will recommend families and friends to visit this park.

Spectacular art in the midst of nature

By C K |

I've visited Minneapolis many times but have not had a chance to visit the sculpture garden. I'm so glad that I was able to include this wonderful exploration of art in the midst of nature in all her glory as well. The art from some world renowned artists including Henry Moore was so amazing and the manner in which they are displayed is astounding. This is one place you must visit in Minneapolis.

Great sculptures

By 349samirj |

Neat spot to stop and take some pictures. Nice view of the downtown skyline and when the wind is blowing, the tree with all the chimes will sing you a great song.

Beautiful Park

By Smokinboles |

My wife and I enjoyed a visit to the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden in early October. The weather was cool but not so cold to make it a worthwhile event.

Parking was plentiful and there were several easy-pay stations located throughout the area. We arrived on Columbus Day, so parking was free. Love free!

The park boasted several dozen sculptures, some of which were getting routine maintenance. For example, the big cherry spoon was getting a scrub down, so we just walked around the rest of the park and got our pics of the spoon last.

Each of the sculptures displayed a plaque designating the name, the artist (from around the world) and the inspiration of the sculpture.

There was only one area, a grouping of stone benches, that did not appeal to us. Each was inscribed with a poem or thought but all inscriptions were very dark and foreboding, as if the area was called ‘nightmare alley’ or something similar.

Overall the park was well maintained, with paved or pea gravel paths meandering throughout, keeping it wheelchair accessible. I’m glad we visited.

tranqulity

By Brorose |

It's a nice peaceful and quite place to visit. The Spoon bridge and cherry sculpture is beautiful. The garden has modern art and pretty wildflowers along the paths. You can spend an hour or two just walking and looking at the art. The day we went was just a nice and sunny day not to hot. I really enjoyed it. You pay $4.00 to park.

A nice place to wander, have a picnic or just grab a coffee with a friend

By makis400 |

Its a perfect spot to bring a blanket or a lawn chair and just enjoy some downtime. We were here on vacation for just two days and have done all the (touristy) things before so we decided to go here. It's also a nice place to take pictures, some of the sculptures.

One thing that was frustrating is the lot next to it, is the paid parking lot and two individuals in front of us were frustrated as well as the machine doesn't accept actual currency, so the City may want to rethink their payment method.

Great city space

By 2BEis2SKI |

I'm not an art person. I look at most art and don't get it. I don't understand the inspiration or vision or whatever. And some art is not even interesting to me from a purely visceral standpoint. So, all that said...

I really enjoyed the Sculpture Garden. It's a great stroll and whether you are an art person or not, it's a beautiful setting for a walk with family or that special someone. And even though you're in a hectic and busy part of the city, it just feels like everything is peaceful and dare I say quiet.

The park is definitely well attended so in some cases, if you want a picture of something, you might have to wait for a second but no big deal.

They also do a great job of using prairie grass and other natural plants and flowers as a setting enhancement.

Definitely recommend.

Can only go once

By Pastel P |

This is not something you need to go to twice. it isn't very engaging for antsy kids or antsy adults for that matter. It is also a quick walkthrough, at most, it would take an 45 minutes.

Fun afternoon

By tina G |

Neat walking tour of Art exhibits. Good to do on a nice day when under quarantine to get out of the house.

Sculpture Heaven!

By Margaret K |

What a beautiful place to visit. The grounds were beautiful, just loved all the sculptures there! The day was beautiful, everyone there was so happy too. Parking was super easy and convenient. So glad we stopped and checked it out!!!! This is a must do!

Great sculptures

By Darcie |

My family enjoyed the sculpture gardens. Both my 10 year old and my 16 year old loved the sculptures. Great place to stop with the family for a few pictures.

A Gem

By socccermom1970 |

This is such a neat place to just walk around and see some incredible art. I love the conversations this park starts. Everybody has an opinion on art and these sculptures don’t disappoint. We went after dinner on a Sunday and there were plenty of families, couples, and individuals enjoying the evening. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the space. It’s nice that it is open until midnight.

Fun To see

By Karen L |

It was a very Grey day when we visited and I am sure it is even better in the sunlight but it was fun to see the sculptures, especially the spoon bridge which was unlike and very photogenic

Beautiful!

By Lori M |

Super cool! Whole family enjoyed this. The sculptures were very unique and you have several photo opportunities. Parking was only $4 and right there next to garden.

Fun in the Summer!

By tif316 |

Great thing to do on a nice afternoon in the summer. Especially with kids. Nice open area, cool sculptures.

Tradition

By Michele K |

We visit the art garden several times a year and enjoy our time with the kids (now teenagers). I'm not a huge fan of the "native grass" areas as it is covered with weeds.

Cherry and the spoon

By Passenger688340 |

The sculpture park is always a great was to spend a sunny day. It's free, perfect for kids to run around in and there is SO MUCH to look at. The museum is right across the street if you feel like seeing more art (however there is a fee).

A Fun Summer Walk

By Ms. D. Evans |

The iconic sculpture gardens are always fun to walk through. I always notice different things about different sculptures. So much to look at and to be outside at the same time is so nice!

Fun to see a few times

By Savannah N |

Super fun! A great place to be outdoors and many areas to sit peacefully. Trails were clean, wide cement sidewalks. Enjoyed watching a middle age man pose with all the statues while we were there. Great way to get outdoors

Great city gem!

By Kara M |

With the noisy highway directly at the border of this garden, it was unexpectedly serene and peaceful. The sculptures are so interesting with good explanation plaques located in each area. The cherry on a spoon sprays water and is in the middle of a water collection basin that helps to keep rain run-off from the sewer system - an ecological treasure. This is a great place to walk around.

Cool

By Luv2shop |

The pictures speak for themselves. This is a pretty cool location to take some great pictures. There is some free street parking if you are lucky, otherwise there is a pay lot.

Unique

By Sachin K |

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is unique and certainly one of the best free things one can experience. The cherry and spoon structure and the bright blue colored rooster are the best sculptures in this garden. Certainly worth visiting for any traveler in Minneapolis.

Unique visit in midst of city

By Thomas W |

Lots of great sculptures to view and photograph. Good walking path and great place to get your steps in. Was chilly day in April while attending the Final Four, but very worth the stop. Parking on street is limited, but lot available nearby for few bucks.

Really neat!

By Morrice L |

We did come here to see the big spoon. Although, there is more here to see. Some really cool art work in what seems to be located in the historic district. Really good quiet spot.

Must See

By Getaway35342030069 |

If you are in the city, this is worth the visit! I loved how different each sculpture was. There was something for everyone!

Sculpture.

By Thomas646 |

Was really interesting to see all the different types & styles of sculpture, would recommend it when it's a bit warmer. Afterwards pop into the Art center for something to eat,Food is Excellent & the Cinnamon buns are Yum.

Absolute iconic Minneapolis treasure

By Katloveslife |

What a beautiful place. Everything about it. The gardens, the amazing art, the Minneapolis skyline. So many people -families, couples... hanging out. What a scene. If you haven’t been go! We hadn’t stopped here for 10 years and were very glad we did.

Fun place- plus it’s free

By Greg W |

Really great place to wander around and just enjoy the weather. They’ve done a lot to make it more interactive which I love!

Great place to visit in the evening....

By Kbrey |

Avoid the heat and go at night - much better than in the middle of the hot day. We spent a long time people watching and enjoying the sculptures. Needs more chairs and people need to be aware that others want to sit, do not use the chairs for your purse while you take photos.

Lovely Strolling Park

By Krista M |

The day we went was a lovely day for a stroll outside. This garden had all sorts of sculptures to look at. Perfectly located to where we were staying and walking distance to a really great ice cream parlor.

Disappointing

By gwaltney |

This iconic sculpture needs help. The colors are faded. The whole sculpture garden seems sparse. It was fun to see this but I expected more.

Free art - but pay for parking

The sculptures are nice - but if you aren't lucky enough to get the on street parking you have to pay at the lot for a full day of parking. No hourly parking.

Pleasant art walk

By LovesPhotoOps |

We parked on the street on a Sunday morning and spent about 30 minutes walking through this park and looking at the various modern art sculptures. Unfortunately the blue rooster was undergoing some repair, but we enjoyed viewing the other sculptures.

Make time to visit this fantastic garden

By Stay799816 |

This garden was a great experience especially on a sunny day. Parking in from of so called main entrance and there was plenty of spaces. Food was scarce but close to restaurants about a half mile walk over the bridge to another park.
Sculptures were great , just take your time reading about them

Always a nice spot

By Mahananye |

After its long restoration we finally had a chance on a warm October day to bring some kids to check out the changes. Old or new art, it's a great place to get fresh air, relax, take a leisurely walk and have great backgrounds for photos. It's free to go but you have to pay to park.

Just great

By dennys34 |

Stroll along some of the most amazing sculptors of the world - see the famous cherry on a spoon and experience Moore brutality and Calder

Great sculpture garden!

By maapar |

Great open space with sculptures. Not much shade so was a bit hot when we visited. Loved the cherry on the spoon and found a lot of the other installations interesting. Do not understand the negative reviews unless you are very anti- modern art.

Ok

By Harmony177 |

I didn't think it's worth a stop. The big spoon is close to the parking lot though so it's easy to get to. Overall, not a great stop.

Enjoyable, to be outdoors

By Joe M |

Very interesting displays. Some are small others you cannot miss. We enjoyed the plants and landscaping as we walked the park.

Give yourself enough time to enjoy it all

By Skwiki |

We didn't have enough time to see everything, even though it was a return visit. Spoonbridge was our priority, but there are many interesting pieces of art throughout the gardens. We only had about 30 minutes to explore and easily could have spent twice that if we weren't rushed.

Fun to wander around

By Sharon S |

The sculpture garden is open all day and free. The highlight is the Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture at the center of the garden, with chairs around it to sit and relax watching the kids climb on the spoon and the ducks enjoying the water flowing from the Cherry. There are also sculptures across the street on the lawn of the Walker Art Center. Though the garden is not downtown, it's not hard to get to without a car as there is a nearby bus stop.

The weather was perfect for a walk among the sculptures

By Edie Trammel |

It was a perfect day to visit the Walker Sculpture Garden. The art, the history, the flowers, the bees. It was just wonderful to wander at our own pace and snap all the photos!

Subjective art (??)

By Trina |

What’s happened to art?? How can this be called art in comparison to masters such as Michelangelo, Donatello, Bernini? What a disappointment. Do yourself a favor, skip this sorry excuse for art - walk across the street to the Basilica of Saint Mary, and feast your eyes on real art….

Visit is free

By Lindsey C |

The Sculpture Garden is free. The nearby parking lot was $4 when we were there. It's an interesting park to stroll through, get great pictures and enjoy the Minneapolis skyline behind you. It's worth the stop if you're visiting the area.

Worth the time

By Crissy K |

Great place to walk around, eat lunch, or just chill. Loved the art. Definitely a place to stop and check out if you are in the area.

A great place to tour

By Choose Joy |

I enjoyed the sculpture garden! Lots of neat exhibits and a great place to walk.
I have been to Minneapolis several times but hadn’t been here & I thought it was high time I saw the spoon & cherry.

There was lots to see, and a good breeze blowing. There was an exhibit of wind chimes in a tree and the music they made was very soothing.

The sculpture garden is well worth a visit!

By RedYoga |

We took a tour of the sculpture garden that is offered by the Walker Museum--it is worth it because you really see more and get to know more about the sculptures. We also had lunch at the Walker cafe, which was superb.

Inspiring and interactive art outside

By Mitzithemarvelous |

The sculpture garden is not to be missed. There is an eclectic range of sculptures, the blue chicken makes one laugh. Some of the art you can actually get on and move with the sculpture.
The grounds are beautiful and there are plenty of places to sit down and just admire the art and the cityscape.

A must see

By Angie G |

This is a wonderful sculpture garden. It is located near downtown and The Basilica of St Mary’s. These provide a nice backdrop to the sculptures.

Walk in the park with a cherry on top!

By Jbabe |

Definitely a must see in Minneapolis. Perfect for a quick touristy photo or long leisurely walks through the garden. Best part, its free!

Fun and Eclectic

By Tara M |

This park is a beautiful place to take a leisurely stroll and observe fun, funky artwork! The sculptures are different than any I’ve seen!

Great display of art in lovely garden

By Corine Poot Blok |

Large garden with various kinds of art everywhere. Enjoyable to walk around and watch the art. Take the bridge to the other side of the interstate to visit the basilica as well.

Interesting

By Savedtothebone |

This was a unique place that we had to visit. The big spoon with cherry is an iconic piece that is a great picture memory spot. It was a nice little park with many different metal pieces of art work. The only cost for us was to park our car.

Relaxing park with sculptures

By MontrealMan |

Nice place for a stroll or picnic to appreciate sculptures and pleasant views of Minneapolis. This park is adjacent to the Walker Arts complex.

Fun day! Great weather! Great sculptures!

By Patrick L |

Beautiful sculptures to view and walk around. We had some lunch at local cafe and sat by spoon and cherry. Very beautiful! Highly recommend!!

Popular outdoor art/statuary

By Brumba |

This is a very popular outdoor exhibit of sculpture. Recognizable items include the spoon and cherry plus the love cube.

Explore!!

By Terrence T |

The garden is really a nice place to walk around and see the art, gardens, and flowers. It is a quiet place with the sound of traffic in the distance and children running around. I was there on a overcast day so the photos I took needed a lot of TLC....the colors didn't pop like on a sunny day. The surroundings are amazing with the Walker Art Museum, old churches, and the Loring Park/Pond all within walking distance. It is a great area to walk and explore. It is a really beautiful area to explore.

Great outdoor activity enjoyable for all ages

By TheVacationingAiyars |

In good weather, this is one of the Minneapolis attractions that is a must see for all visitors. Good number of outdoor sculptures in an expansive outdoor setting offering plenty of opportunities to walk around, sit and enjoy natural surroundings in the middle of a very urban setting (right next to freeways!). Recommended in a pandemic!

A Must See

By Chuck S |

This Minnesota icon must be witnessed in person. A visit to Minneapolis is incomplete without a visit to the Cherry and Spoon sculpture in the sculpture garden. Many people have fun with photos and this sculpture. So if you want an Instagram photo, check this place out as well as the other sculptures (Blue Rooster) in the Garden. Have fun!

Great way to spend an hour or so outside

By DRD4-7R |

We visited with our 12 and 14 year olds. While not exactly their cup of tea, they were entertained for about an hour. The parents however thoroughly enjoyed this park! Really cool sculptures, the grounds are beautiful and there’s covered picnic tables for a picnic. The bathroom were also very clean for a public park! Parking is $4 flat fee unless you can find a spot on the street.

Outdoor art

By Laura |

Having biked around the garden many times, we figured we should walk through it all for once. It is what it is. Outdoor art. A cherry and a rooster. Some other artsy stuff. Quick stroll and we were good.

Quick visit

By Maria C |

Great space to appreciate local artisans. Only need about 40 minutes to walk & view Installations. Spoon picture a must.

Lovely park

By newpower07 |

Very relaxing yo walk around with some great sculptures, worth taking a little time to see it. Near the heart of Minneapolis so easy yo walk to.

Great in warm weather (October, surprisingly)

By RichGTraveling |

Modern art, much of it seems to be from the 60's. Well maintained, good explanations, nice visit, and a nice walk just outside the Walker.

A Must See

By Richard S |

This is one of the must see places when visiting the wonderful city of Minneapolis. You may not think so, but allow yourself a good hour or even more to be able to walk around the grounds and see all the great sculptures. The number one most popular is the spoon and cherry. There is a brochure available online that explains the different sculptures and artists. You won't be disappointed!

Really enjoyed this location.

By travelingenigma |

Well maintained and very nice to walk around. The sculputres are all neat, when we went in 2018 there was constuction happening, it is a bit off the beaten path from downtown but worth the visit!

Beautiful park, iconic cherry and spoon

By jra3 |

Fantastic park and sculpture garden, often quite busy. Nice paths, not totally barrier free. Safe and clean with nice artwork. If you are visiting passing through Loring Park watch for needles and meth heads.

Park has a large paid parking lot.

Interesting Sculptures

By Jeff K |

We spent about 30 minutes walking around the garden and enjoyed it. Lots of interesting sculptures with good write-ups about the pieces and their sculptures. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Fun!

By Family_Jules1969 |

Even in the bitter cold this was a fun stop while visiting Minneapolis. Easy parking and it wasn’t crowded at all on a Saturday afternoon. I would like to go back in the spring with a picnic.

Hour stop was not enough

By cicnavi |

We stopped by here quickly during a trip on our way to somewhere else. We spent about an hour, but could have easily spent more. Lots of families and groups out enjoying the setting and the summer weather. If I lived in Minneapolis, this is certain a space I would take the family more often. Open space for the kids, and lots of areas for sitting and enjoying people and surroundings.

Free art

By GlobetrotterNL83 |

Lovely garden with wild flowers, butterflies and some great sculptures. Good place to have a stroll in the sun without any costs.

A Must Do

By jer b |

The Sculpture garden is adjacent to the Walker Museum and is just a beautiful collection of sculptures by well known artists. Most are very contemporary, but there is a Moore. The gardens are for the most part casual and prairie in style. The is a large tree filled with wind chimes that adds to the magical nature of the garden. Best to stroll, view, look out to the vistas filled with buildings in the distance, and just experience. A must do is a picture with the Spoon and Cherry sculpture along the beautiful pond. And another with the LOVE sculpture. If without a car, the best way to get there is the blue or green line to Nicolett station and then the bus that goes down Nicolett westward. I believe it was the #7. It weaves around a bit but gets you there. You can use the whitney bridge to cross over Lyndal Avenue. The bridge also provides some great photo ops (above ground) for the sculpture garden, Walker and the Basilica of St. Mary.

Interesting Park

By Deb W |

We brought 3 little boys to this park. It was a lot of fun. You have to see the iconic Spoonbridge and Cherry and Blue Hahn/Cock. The boys had fun going around to the different art and trying to guess the name. Great place to be on a beautiful day.

Relaxed park and gardens

By Patricia S S |

These gardens have just recently been redesigned, I nice escape in the middle of a large city. It is a popular location for weddings, wedding photos and while we were there many high school graduations students were also having the pictures were taken, plenty of parking worth visiting.

Open space with art

By Gardengel-IoW |

We walked to the Sculpture Garden over the bridge from Loring park. Eleven acres – with sixty sculptures! Well, we missed a huge chunk! It wasnt very obvious that the park continued further across a road, I now discover looking at a plan. Nice open park like, area and big sculptures which at least the majority actually represented something tangible. Weather hot, no shade. Park was opposite cathedral but too difficult to get to over busy road. Park was accessed via a bridge over road. Also, via Loring Park, voted #10 in USA, well its ok. Luckily it was free to visit.

Must stop and take it all in!

By DMcG |

Just outside of downtown in residential neighborhood, the sculpture garden is a charming small parcel of park green space with an amazing variety of sculpted pieces. Most are contemporary and are each unique in their presentation. Free parking and a donation box available. Highly recommend.

Very Nice Experience

By Shelly G |

The Sculpture Garden is a lovely place to walk through. While I was there there were many flowers still in bloom which made for a very nice setting. The iconic Spoon and Cherry sculpture was neat to see in person. It was just an interesting and lovely place to visit.

Another wonderful (&free) exhibit in Minneapolis!

This was such a cool and neat place to visit. The sculptures and flowers are so different. Glad to be able to see these and walk around the area. It’s free to walk through and parking is $4.

Favorite place in Minneapolis

By vichy |

Went back for the first time after a few years. Really nice to see some old favorites still in place, with some new pieces I didn't recognize (or appreciate?) from before. But also nice that the wind chime piece was installed for summer, but in a different location and configuration from the last time I saw it - a very nice surprise!

Fun for the little one

By samuelabrams |

Outstanding public collection situated right outside the city center. My little one adored the Giant Spoon. This is worth a visit even if you aren’t into art or art history!

Worthwhile!

By PattyKayJ |

This is a great spot to see when in downtown Minneapolis. Interesting sculptures and just a great place to stroll around.

The Spoon and the Rooster are the Best

By 2doglady |

I have been to a few sculpture parks since I enjoy them when I travel. This one says it has about 40 sculptures so I guess I missed some because it did not feel like 40. However, the area was well liked and busy enough. The Spoonbridge and Cherry just steals the show! Even the area geese love it (maybe it is actually the lake they like).😁 The blue rooster was a standout, too. These sculptures are in a small park across the street from the Walker Art Center and is open basically dawn to dark. The train lines in Minneapolis do not go this way so you will need a car or Uber or taxi. It is a fun stop and free, but I would say an hour is plenty of time to walk around and enjoy it. Got some cute trip photos!

Cute sculpture garden

By amyw2012 |

This is an enjoyable and free place to walk around. We spent about 30 minutes here on a snowy day. There were several cool sculptures to enjoy.

A nice place to relax

By Nikki W |

This garden is a great place to relax and view some art...and get lots of sun. Not many trees or shade, so be wary of that. Great photo ops all around! Definitely adds some character to the city.

A must see

By llambrecht1968 |

Lots of sculptures to see, and all different in nature. The park is spaced out enough that there is plenty of room to get around without running into people.

Magical

By Cat K |

From Minnesota anyways like home to see the spoon when I visit. Stayed in Rochester MN and flew frontier into Minneapolis love the small airport.

first visit after the revamp of the garden

By Leslie S |

it was my first visit since they revamped it. it's a lot more open space, but you have to stick to their paths because they created pollinator-friendly areas, which is awesome.

I like how they kept a few of the original sculptures but added new ones like the blue chicken.

it was a sunny but little breezy day when I went, so I worked up a sweat, so my advice is to bring a water bottle with you.

cool even in the winter

By Kim W |

We enjoyed the sculpture garden. I can see how it would be really nice in the summer, we still enjoyed it in the winter. The spoon and cherry was super cool and we also like the big blue rooster. The main sidewalks were cleared and easy to walk on but to get close wear boots. Have fun.

Unique attraction

By Matt S |

This is a unique attraction in Minneapolis, and a good way to spend a little bit of time on a summer afternoon. The grounds are well kept, so are great for walking around. The sculptures are relatively unique. This is a good family option, as there were a lot of families here during this time.

Just OK

By 436Debbie |

The spoon and cherry is a really cool sculpture. There are a couple of other nice ones but the majority are unmemorable. I'd skip this if I were doing over again.

Great if you are walking around the city

By HynesMom |

The walk from Lake of the Isle to the sculpture garden is beautiful. Great views of amazing houses. The sculpture garden is a beautiful spot - natural setting in the city. The art was not all to my taste, but it was enjoyable to walk around and view it. There are places it sit, too.

Viewing the Sculptures at Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

By cenzt |

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 8 pm and made our way towards the entrance of the park. The park contained many pieces of fragmented sidewalk/gravel walkway that connected the various sculptures together. We were able to see many different sculptures and works of art, each with a unique twist added them. The walk was very peaceful and relaxing. There were informational plaques located in front of each sculpture, detailing a little about the artist who created them, along with what the sculpture represented. My one complaint is that I wish the sculptures were more illuminated, especially since I came at night to view them.

Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you truly want to see everything.

Fun place to explore!

By SheSavesSheTravels |

My family went to check out the sculpture garden and it did not disappoint! To be honest I was a little nervous to take my young kids to see the art for fear they’d break something-or the rules!

My kids loved running from sculpture to sculpture! The artist stories are cool to read and I left feeling very inspired!

Interesting

By LRR2222 |

I didn’t realize it was going to be all modern Art. But given that it is adjacent to a modern art museum, that makes sense. I especially liked that they were growing wildflowers in part of the park.

A MUST see in Minneapolis!

By FaerieCool |

This place was so much cooler than we expected! Based on the reviews, we thought there were a few sculptures and it would take maybe 30 minutes max. We ended up spending 2 hours wandering through the gardens and checking out the many sculptures and installations. It was a gorgeous day and it was a true highlight of our trip! The windchime tree was beautiful, but I believe its only there in the spring and summer.

Beautiful garden

By ZapCa |

Beautiful garden in Minneapolis, spoon and a cherry is my personal favorite! Nice greenery and surroundings!

Photo Ops

The park was good for an evening walk. The sculptures were nice to walk around and see the different art styles. Great for photos.

Walker Fun

By KaNesha B |

As long as it's a nice day this is a perfect place. Even on a nice rainy day. So much to see great for a day out.

Great outdoor visit

By stasee000 |

Perfect for a beautiful day. Wander through the sculptures or just take a picnic and enjoy. We very much enjoyed our visit.

Perfect for all ages

By Mickie M |

Easy to get to and navigate, natural outdoor atmosphere - good place for a nice leisurely stroll or for kids to safely burn off extra energy. You can get very close to all of the sculptures. The garden is in the middle of the city, but you don't feel like you are. Go as slow or as quickly as you like. And you can't miss the famous cherry and spoon!

Great even in the rain

By Rachel P |

Really wanted to enjoy this park. Unfortunately, the weather was rain and cold. We did get out and go to the spoon and cherry. It is really cool! Seen from the road or the park this piece of art is a standout piece. The wind was blowing really hard and there was a tree with many wind chimes that sounded amazing. So many other great sculptures, one could easily stay an hour or more. Hope to find time to come back and enjoy this great park with the city buildings and beautiful churches in the back ground.

Worth the stop!

By Anne J |

This was such a great place to experience the city and see great sculptures. It was crowded when we arrived but there was still ample parking in the free lot. We enjoyed walking around the garden and taking photos. The blue cock has a "twin" at the Washington DC Smithsonian, so now we have seen them both.

Sunny or rainy day activity

By Ritz1165 |

Wonderful excursion. Be sure to precede or proceed with lunch at Cardamon the Walker Museum restaurant. Bring a book and stay for the day.

Beautiful park

By Kim C |

We visited on a cold day so didn't spend a lot of time. It is a great park to walk and enjoy some relaxation. We fed the geese which were really quite friendly if you have food. I would wait for a warm day next time so I could enjoy the park more.

Art Center

By NemoTraveler |

The Sculpture Garden is part of the Walker Art Center and is located close to downtown Minneapolis. The garden is open from 6 in the morning to midnight every day and admission is free. Paid parking is available nearby.

A number of artworks are on show and it is possible to download an app with a free guide. The area is quite nice and worth a visit.

Art park

By Jessica K |

What a cool park! Just meandering around you will see all kinds of unique artwork. There is also some picnic tables (under a shaded canopy) and benches throughout the park. Easy walkways and metered street parking, and depending on the day - there might be food trucks as well. We got the icees and macrons. Well worth a visit.

Stellar sculpture garden

By Brendan S |

Everything about the Sculpture Garden is impressive. You may enter it from a bridge over the interstate; a bridge that is itself one of the sculptures and that acts as an overlook of the Gardens. The Gardens are truly gardens, with flowers in bloom and manicured hedges. They are also very large, several blocks square. There are first-rate sculptors represented including the famous spoon with cherry by Oldenburg as well as Calder Segal and Henry Moore. It’s a great collection in a great space.

One of My Favorite Places in the Twin Cities

By Elizabeth S |

Dress for the weather and take a stroll on one of my favorite sculpture gardens in the world. While the cherry-spoon sculpture is the most iconic, you will find plenty to admire in this beautifully laid out garden including a spectacular Henry Moore. This is a place to bring the children and your grandmother, as no one can resist admiring the large scale works of art and the greenery along the footpaths. Be sure to leave time to see the Walker, which is right across the street.

Must see iconic spot for Mpls views

By C Q |

Free, centrally located and always interesting art. Best photo spot in town, next door to Walker with nice food and gift shop.

Enjoyable sculptures

By Keenomanjaro |

This is a fairly modest sculpture garden with a few high tickets pieces that make it worthwhile visiting. The garden is laid out opposite the Walker Art Centre, which means it's a good double header for those wanting their art fix for the day. The garden's centrepiece is the 'Spoonbridge and Cherry' by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen, which is a great, fun piece that'll make for some good photos, but there are many other impressive sights, the highlight of which was the giant blue cockerel, familiar to me from its residence on Trafalgar Square's fourth plinth in London, which is backdropped by the nearby Basilica of St Mary. There are around 40 pieces in all to discover here and we found it was a nice way to spend an hour or so.

Wonderful outside experience for free

By Francis O |

It’s quite uncommon to find outdoor museums and pieces of art. At Minneapolis Sculpture Garden you will find, for free, a whole block full of beautiful sculptures incorporated in a garden which makes the whole experience of wondering around much nicer. I have visited during the summer and it was a very charming walk alongside such different and imaginative sculptures. Definitely recommend for anyone visiting Minneapolis!

More than just the cherry sculpture

By SnowyShasta |

The giant cherry on a spoon in the middle of a small pond is probably the most famous sculpture here, but there are many of them scattered around an area of a few square blocks.

There is very little shade, so on a hot August afternoon, it was pretty warm, but we still enjoyed spending about 45 minutes wandering around looking at the many sculptures, and reading more about them from the signs. Entrance to the garden itself is completely free, although we did have to pay for parking (we parked in the underground parking at the associated museum across the street). This is definitely a somewhat signature sight in Minneapolis and easy to see and enjoy in a relatively short amount of time.

Great experience spending time between various designed sculptures

By Ramakrishna Tadepalli |

Great thought and very good innovation build such great sculptures. Sure many thoughts behind making those with in downtown. Spent great time with family taking many pictures, flying disc play etc., had picnic time

Must See!

By Cassie W |

Everyone goes to see Spoonbridge, but this park has some wonderful other sculptures! We had a great time walking around the beautiful space. While the grass was not yet green when we visited in March, I'm sure it's so lovely when it is. Lots of great photo ops and lots of unique sculptures. Well worth a visit!

Walker Museum and garden together

By Tim K |

The museum focuses on modern art, which has some large and interesting pieces, with interesting rooms and places to look out over the city. Associated with it is a large sculpture garden that has several nice items, the most famous being the cherry and spoon by Oldenburg, A few by Henry Moore and perhaps the most unusal is the bridge over the nearby road? Beyond the art, the garden makes a nice walk around, with the only hangup outside being the road noise from nearby freeways spoiling the atmosphere.

Lots of Interesting Sculptures in this Nice Garden

By Tom W |

The Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a cool park in Minneapolis. I liked the Blue Hen and Cherry & Spoon exhibits.

There's a few lawn chairs to relax in. The Garden is very well maintained.

You get a great view of the city of Saint Paul.

It is free and parking is very reasonably priced.

It's a great place to visit for all and especially people who enjoy the arts.

Relaxing afternoon adventure

By Victoria V |

Had to check out the Minneapolis sculpture garden to see the famous spoon and cherry. We parked in the $4 parking lot and enjoyed strolling through the walkways to see some interesting sculptures. The native landscape and wildflowers only added to the beauty of the art and the location in the city. Got some cool pics as well which I'm sure we'll cherish for a long time!

Nice walk

By Alexandra T |

There ia some free parking spots on the street or a pay to park lot closeby. Take about an hour to walk around the gardens, there is a lot of great sculpture to enjoy.

Iconic pic

By Laura S |

We walked around the sculpture garden- doesn’t take long. It is interesting, but not my favorite stop. I would say it was a must-do...but only to get the pic. Admittedly, I am not an sculpture/art fanatic.

Sculptures in a park!

By The Happy Traveler |

Fun outdoor place to examine and analyze the many angles of these creative works of art. Sculptures are from all over the world. They have rest places for you to just sit and reflect and picnic benches to bring lunch within the park. They also have restrooms in the back by the convenient parking lot. Each sculpture has descriptions, dates, and ideology behind the muses! Great place to go with kids, date, picnic, and during nice weather.

The museum and sculpture garden are an iconic spot and a must see. The weather is great in the summer and everything is well maintained. You can even park on the other side of the highway and take the pedestrian bridge over enhancing your experience with the fine dining offered.

Very beautiful sculpture garden! Thus Sculpture garden has so many different creative art sculptures! The location is in the heart of downtown Minneapolis! No cost to look at all kind of different sculptures!Very nice to tour in the summertime!Than the weather is nice! You have parking meters in the area! Also you have a paid parking lot!If you go early am,you can watch and take picture,at no parking cost! You have steps that lead over to Lowry Park! That have good views of the city, and more!Across the street,is The Walker Art theatre!

They ruined it!

By Maryfaith F |

I live nearby and understand that infrastructure issues with the site necessitated a redesign. I also get the desire to create a prairie with native grasses. However, 2 years after the opening it is a sorry sight. The absence of trees or bushes means nothing buffers the noise and sight of heavy auto traffic, and there’s no shade. The paths are dead ends, the flower gardens at the end are mostly destroyed and the sculpture is largely underwhelming. Sad.

Nice find

By Deborah G |

While walking around Minneapolis I stumbled across this garden and enjoyed the experience. Great sculptures surrounded by lots of foliage. Butterflies and birds were everywhere. The museum attached to it was less impressive, however that could be because I'm not a huge fan of modern artwork. I was glad to pay the entrance as their sculpture garden was free to the public.

Neat Outside Sculpture Garden

By Denise |

It was a little chilly but decided to make a short visit to that iconic spoon n cherry. Definitely some cool pieces of sculpture here. Would have loved to have visited Walker too, but it was a Monday and closed.

OK stop

By Jim S |

Good place to walk around. The quality of the displays are very uneven though. Still, worth a stop if you have extra time.

Good place to spend sometime on a Sunny Day

By savvyuec |

The garden is in close proximity to the Basilica of Saint Mary and there you could drop by here to visit. There are number of sculptors along with the history of how they ended up being here.

There is a cathedral and a church near by as well in case you are fond of these buildings and architecture.

A Minneapolis Classic

By dgmmlevans09 |

Love to stop and wander the sculptures and grounds. A friendly and relaxing break while in the city. Often free street parking is available or the pat lots are reasonable

Decent sculptures let down by indifferent landscaping

By Bill T |

Wanted to really like this park. However apart from the siting of the spoon and cherry I felt that the other sculptures were let down by the lack of decent landscape setting to set off the art and provide photographic opportunities. More miss than hit.

Free Fun

By Cynthia A |

What a fun outdoor experience. So many different sculptures to see and wonderful grounds. Some of the best photo ops in the city and it's all free!

Nice sculptures. Not on a hot day…

By Caitlin C |

We visited with our two children (ages 9 and 6). I enjoyed the sculptures a lot. My husband complained that there wasn’t enough shade. 🤣 It would have been nice if there was a brief description of the art work on all of the name plaques (some had descriptions and some didn’t).

We were disappointed that parking was almost $5 for the hour we were there.

The kids enjoyed the huge sculptures! I would say it is definitely something to see if you have the time, just so you can say you’ve been there!

Wind chime tree!

By TheBoyneFamily |

Easy access to the garden from Loring Park. Very well kept and clean. The wind chime tree was my favorite. No admittance fees.

Minneapolis classic has been updated and cleaned up.

By John G |

Minneapolis classic has been updated and cleaned up. More natural plantings make it more of a garden with still plenty of cool sculptures.

A Minneapolis must see!

By Gbb |

This should definitely be on any visitor's list! Beautiful artworks set in a lovely park, with a bridge over the highway connecting to Loring Park that is an artwork in itself. The view of the Spoonbridge with the downtown skyline behind it is the prettiest view in the Twin Cities

While this is an iconic site in the Twin Cities, I felt it was overrated. The sculptures are nice and if the weather is nice, it’s a fine way to spend the day. But the signs don’t have enough information on the art in my opinion.

Beautiful

By Cali |

I love it! Lots of beautiful sculptures but it was cold so i didn’t get to enjoy it much but it’s a nice place.

Scenic Stroll

By Don H |

A nice place to stroll and take some photos. The blue rooster was my favorite but my wife loved spoon gate. There are benches to sit and rest if you get tired but if you go non-stop, I think an hour is enough to see everything.

The only issue is whether you park for an hour or park for 5 hours the parking lot machine charges you the same price. Lucky for us we went on a Thursday night when the Walker Art Museum across the street had a free night. So we did a two for one and viewed their exhibits as well.

Amazing Afternoon Outdoors in the Artisinal Garden of Sculptures

By Happiness527538 |

A plethora of outdoor sculptures with something to appeal to everyone! From the cherry and the spoon to the mother and child sculpture that requires a bit of interpretation, this space is designed to reach all viewers. The sculpture garden is a wonderful destination for a morning or afternoon walk, and visiting is free! Loved our visit!

Iconic sculptures

By CleopatraBunny |

The city’s famous “Spoonbridge and Cherry” sculptures here, along with the Blue Rooster, LOVE, and many other fantastic works. Park on the street for free!

Famous cherry and spoon

By Eastlight108 |

Lovely place to take a walk. We wanted to see the cherry and spoon, which is quirky and fun, and there were a few other pieces we also really liked. Look for the empty coat, we really liked it.

The Sculpture Garden

By matt263 |

My wife & I both loved the sculpture garden. We thought that all of the artwork was really interesting and unique. Our favorite ws the spoon and cherry. The groungs we well laid out and really easy to get to.

I GUESS ITS ART!

By Denny B |

First took a tour of the area, which was basically just a drive-by. Went back over a day or so later, to walk the grounds and take a closer look. Not overly exciting in my opinion.

Great place for a quick stop

By bukyansha |

Was in town for the weekend and saw this as a good photo opportunity and it didn't disappoint. The sculptures are good and the park is clean so its a great stop on a visit. It's probably a lot busier in the summer but it was perfect now to walk around and take some photos. The parking right besides it helps a lot too.

Nice area to take a break from the city sights

By Lynn A |

The Sculpture Garden is a nice park to take a walk and a break from the big city. the Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture and the pond (whose shape resembles the linden trees nearby) are an icon of Minneapolis from the 1980s. The bridge over the freeway, my understanding, is part of the sculptures. All this is across from the Walker Museum so between the 2 places, you can easily spend 2-3 hours. There is a café in the museum. Not much shade in the sculpture garden so plan accordingly.

Outdoors for city slickers

By CJ S |

Beautiful is a garden. This is a nice outdoor activity for everyone. Great place for a picnic. The best part is it's free.

Nature meets Art

By KK78 |

This is a nice area to walk around and see the sculptures on a nice day. I loved the windchimes in the tree and the cherry on the spoon sculpture. Parking is $4.

Worthwhile Tourist Attraction

By lcattau |

I had definitely been to the Sculpture Garden before. It had been years, and we took some East Coast guests who wanted to see the iconic cherry and spoon sculpture. I was amazed at how amazing it still is! I was really impressed with the newer sculptures. They had a large building housing a saint that was beautiful. It was also covered with wild flowers and prairie grass, which really added a cool feeling. It is an Instagrammer's dream for sure. Definitely worth a visit! You could have a picnic, bring a book, and make a day of it, or walk quickly and see everything in 15 minutes or so. Plus it's free!

Very nice

By Ben |

Very well done. Worth visiting. We went there on a very hot and humid day. They are constantly trying to make it better and better. It was a delight to see a great place to visit in the middle of the town.

It's been rated so many times - I am not sure my review is even needed.

By AndrewFromMadison |

Great outdoors art museum - if in Minneapolis, wit's worth you while to visit, as one of the items on your "bucket list". We visited it at least couple of times.

Nice addition to the connection to walker museum and Loring park

By Susan A |

Lovely garden - clean with interesting sculptures. Easy walk and bridge to Loring park and Walker museum. Great for children.

Unique place with cool photo opportunities

By sswetha2809 |

It is a very nice place to take a relaxing stroll through the garden and enjoy the artwork. As someone who loves to take cool pictures, I really enjoyed capturing the reflection of spoon artwork on the little pond. I visited during late fall and the colors were amazing, but it should be even more beautiful during peak fall

As it is free, definitely worth a visit if you are in the area or visiting Minneapolis.

The cherry on the top!

By Luvinspoonful |

Sculptures are my favorite art form so I was pretty happy to wander the 11 acres and oooh and aaah at this lot. These gardens are extremely attractive and their are some fab photo shots (and some fun ones too)

Simply beautiful

By Shelly V |

Looking for something easy to do around Minneapolis-Saint Paul this is it. It was a perfectly pleasant walk around the sculpture garden. Great views of the city. I am not the biggest art lover and I loved going here.

Cute Little Park

By canadianveggie |

Nice little spot to walk around. You can easily see everything in 30 minutes. The most iconic piece (Spoonbridge and Cherry) is currently being restored. I wouldn't go out of your way to visit, but if you are staying nearby it's worth walking to.

Fresh air time killer

By Jeff B |

If you are looking to get some fresh air and spot a few cool sculptures, this will suffice. The wind chimes in the summer is the best exhibit. It is free; although, parking does cost. There is limited shade so plan accordingly. They are conscious and promote social distancing. I wouldn't plan on more than a half an hour. I've seen better outdoor sculptures elsewhere. Not a cohesive theme.

Several installations

By Heather |

This is a large, free park, although you do have to pay to park. The spoon & cherry was under construction so that was a bummer since that's what I went to see. The other art is worth checking out though; this would be a great way to enjoy beautiful weather while admiring art.

Great photo ops here!

By Cjfoto |

Wonderful place to visit and see some interesting art work. Best way to see it is rent a bike in downtown Minneapolis and ride over to the area.

Great winter walk, I look forward to summer.

By In50by50 |

How can you pass up a 20 foot blue rooster? A very nice distraction from downtown. Not huge, but lots of conversation starters. I think next time we'll try to get the guided tour.

Nice Place to Enjoy a Walk

By Melissa K |

I took my nieces on a short trip to Mall of America and my only request was that we eat at Hell's Kitchen and see the Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture. We enjoyed the mile walk after lunch, through the park, to the Sculpture Garden. The fact that it didn't cost to see what we wanted was an added perk. We didn't walk through to see the others, but I thought it was worth the trip just to see what I wanted!

Spectacular Sculpture Garden

By RogerDeanDC |

Truly a treasure and a must for sculpture lovers. There are surprises around every corner. Puts the adjacent Walker Art Museum to shame.

Not as good as I thought, but worth the walk to visit.

By MarsBeautyQueen |

Disappointed with the number of sculptures. I thought there would be more available to see and photograph.

Worth your time to go see this park!

By ethompson_familyof5 |

very cool artwork. Great area to walk around and see. Wife and I walked from downtown but took an Uber back. It was on my list to checkout while in town and it was worth it.

Fun for all

By FloridasTravelers |

This is really a neat place to walk through. it offers something for everyone. You get wrapped up in the surroundings and forget that your in a museum.

Not very impressive or even interesting

By Kore B |

A few interesting sculptures, but some things that were just plain weird. Not sure why they had a series of about 30 benches with weird/stupid sayings engraved into them. The words seemed to be the dark thoughts of an immature teenager. After seeing half of the sculpture gardens, we were ready to leave. Thought-provoking if you just want to think, "Why?"

Lots of great photo ops

By LadyN516 |

Even with it being a rainy overcast day, it was still beautiful with tons of great photo ops of both the sculptures and the downtown skyline.

Great place to visit in Minneapolis

By annrcg |

This a free outdoor art attraction. It show cases various pieces of art. Lovely to walk around on a nice day.

Recently Redesigned and Better Than Ever!

By LVoltz |

A plethora of sculptures pique curiosity and interest - very different than it was even a few years ago with a new layout and new sculptures. The Spoonbridge and Cherry are still a favorite centerpiece - wonderful view of downtown!

Cool Art, No Shade

By SnappleSpice |

Cool sculpture garden that is both free and interesting to explore. I was only here a short while, as there was very little shade.

Brief visit in afternoon between rain showers

By Andy S |

Really neat place to see (and interact with in some cases) a variety of sculpture exhibits. Well integrated with local foliage and natural landscape.

Pleasant half hour

By 360BrianL |

Nice to see but will only take up to 45minutes so plan this location as part of a day activity. May be walked to from city across another park. Not a rainy or cold day location.

Life is like a cherry

By Terrence T |

If you have time this place is so cool. Located near the Walker Art Center the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is a fun place to see. Not only will you fall in LOVE with the cherry there are other LARGE art work to like the Blue Rooster and much, much more.

Cute

By MpG |

We visited way early in the morning, not many people there. A nice path to guide you through a bunch of okay sculptures. The centerpiece is the Spoonbridge and cherry. Oh, and there was ducks.

walk in the park

By 2walkonh2o |

This gem of a garden is right in the heart of a bustling downtown area and provides a great place to relax, think and contemplate the art sculptures. It's across the street (safe to walk across) from the Walker Art Museum. It was a bit chilly when we went and we stayed about 45 minutes. I noticed picnic tables and there are large grassy areas - both would be great for a picnic on a warm day. Parking at the Walker Art Museum is probably your best bet. We paid $3 for our 49 minute stay. I think that the max out for the day is $5.

Visit Sculpture Garden

By Mel2745 |

Visited the park in the evening, just enough light for some photos in light rain. Beautiful pieces to see and walk around. Would have stayed longer if not raining. Parking is nearby and requires payment.

Awesome place in Minneapolis

By TravelingBender |

I once visited Dallas, TX and saw a giant eyeball downtown. I thought I’d never seen anything quite like that in my entire life. However, I visited Minneapolis on one summer morning and saw a cherry on a spoon. Absolutely incredible!

Great location, close to city, safe neighborhood, plenty of parking. Make a visit.

enjoyable

By superbrino |

Its a beautiful park, a nice leisurely walk around with some interesting art work. If ya have the time, take an hour or so and enjoy the stroll around

Art in the park

By Scott F |

Once you are done taking in the great modern art in the Modern art museum you can wander across the street to enjoy all of the significant art in the sculpture garden. Aside from the beautiful grounds, you can see downtown from the park, enjoy a great walk on the path around the artwork. I would definitely make this one of your stops while visiting the Twin Cities.

Local Treasure

By Trish SK |

It may sound funny, but the winter months are my favorite time to visit. Is it the pristine snow between the works of art? Is it the quiet stillness, close to solitude? Is it simply because the Garden is spectacular any day, any time of the year?

Prolly all of the above.

We've lived in the neighborhood for 25+ years and love to bring visitors to see the Sculpture Garden. In fact, we love to see other Sculpture Gardens in our travels, but most come up short in comparison to our beautiful space. The renovation was extensive and has proven to be a good way to bring new life to some of the long-term exhibits.

It costs nothing to visit, it's close to some great restaurants and it's great for all ages. You owe it to yourself to get outside and see some wonderful art.

Wonderful Experience

By Wayne M |

The Sculpture Garden is a great way to relax and explore. Many great pieces of art make for a great experience. The highlight of course is the wonderful Spoonbridge and Cherry by Oldenburg.

Great place to spend a beautiful summer day

By flgreyhound |

Very nice park and sculptures with great photo opportunities against the backdrop of the city. Very nice benches with sayings along the way. Right across from the Walker museum.

Cool sculptures at the park

By TravelKat21 |

We arrived early enough on Saturday to find free street parking in front of the park. The garden has many native plants and sculptures to view. Our favorite was, of course, the giant cherry on spoon. We also enjoyed the wind chimes in the tree… very peaceful. The most entertaining was “back of snowman.” I definitely walked all the way around to see what was on front of snowman. Check it out for yourself. ;)

A nice, free activity for all ages at the Walker Art Center

By joaniemaria |

The Sculpture Garden is available year round and it is free. Parking is available in the parking lot, ramp or on the street. We wandered around for over an hour, and there was still much more to see. It is wonderful art displayed outdoors. It looked like there were lights on many of the trees and bushes, so I am guessing that it is beautiful at night, too. A nice, free outdoor activity for all ages.

An interesting place

By JackofPBFL |

The Sculpture Garden, part of the Walker Arts Center, is an interesting place to visit. It is known for the spoon and cherry and the blue rooster. There are quite a few other sculptures of various types on the beautiful grounds. I really liked the whimsical sayings on the benches.

Fun for a quick stroll

By Elizabeth K |

Neat to see the sculptures up close. Not too much to see, so you could walk through pretty quickly, but also a nice park to spend some relaxing time in if the weather cooperates.

Totally worth it

By kclavoie |

I didn’t know what to expect beside seeing the spoon but it was so much more! Beautiful setting with easy walking paths and we loved all the pieces. We took lots of pictures!!

Great addition to the Walker Art Center experience!

By Bruce B |

It's just fantastic. If you go to the Walker, make sure you allow time to see this as well. There is a lot of really cool sculpture to see - a lot more than just the cherry on the spoon!

Beautiful area, Parking and access to area difficult

By Dan P |

Great park and sculptures to walk through, but getting there with road construction and hidden detours is tyring

Amazing Artworks!

By Betty |

The sculpture garden is beautiful to walk around and enjoy the artworks. The park is well maintained and nice paths for walking. The centerpiece is the Cherry sculpture but there are plenty of sculptures to enjoy.

Amazing free art

By Shari P |

If you love art and being outside, look no further. A great family fun place for free. A must see if in Minneapolis.

A nice break from the busy city

By Fabreeze131 |

This is one of the larger sculpture gardens I have visited! If you go during the summer months, the cherry/spoon sculpture sprays water, which is very refreshing. It provides a relaxation and calming element from the busy city. There is a parking lot, but there is also free street parking.

Love this Sculpture Garden!

By 323kausarm |

This is such a nice place to visit! its free to walk around at and have lunch at! You only have to pay for parking, but other than than it is such a nice place to go and check out!

A Unique and Very Interesting Park!

By grandmakate |

We stopped here because the reviews were so favorable and so glad we did. There are many sculptures, all so different. There were descriptions for each which were interesting to read. The cherry on the spoon was a highlight! There is also an art gallery with a lovely restaurant. Well worth as visit!

You can’t leave Minneapolis without visiting the iconic Cherry and The Spoon.

By Carlos Hernández |

Awesome place to go and appreciate the sculptures.
If you have good taste and you like to appreciate simple but iconic things you should come here.
It is close from downtown is placed in a strategic spot so anyone can have the chance to visit this must see in Minneapolis.
You also have the Walker Art Center right next to it, a museum of contemporary art wich I have heard good things about, but when I went there it was closed.
I would recommend any traveler in the Twin Cities to check out this area take some nice photos and maybe have a picnic.

Free Saturday :)

By Sarah L |

My 6 yo daughter and I decided to kill some time and check it out. It was really neat to see the artwork displayed in such a way. We took a little walk through the Walker art center too. We were lucky enough to get free music for pride weekend too :)

Must do in Minneapolis

By WeGoOut |

This is an easy, accessible walk through very interesting sculptures. The cherry on the spoon is unique. We were there on a sunny day and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

Ok

By Snazzy C |

The visit lasted less than twenty minutes. The sculptures were spread throughout, but a very large Zumba class was in the middle of park. Had to keep navigating around them to get to each side. Ok for just a one time visit

Some wonderful pieces in a not so wonderful environment

By Snarth |

I love art, and love sculpture parks, so it's weird to rate a park with some great pieces in it as "average" but there were some things that really detracted from the experience-- loud traffic noise, an almost complete lack of shade, and very ho-hum landscaping. The pieces by major sculptors were good to see, but the setting was quite disappointing.

A Lovely Sculpture Garden

By Maryfrances W |

Walking around the sculpture garden at the Walker was a highlight. Some lovely pieces from some major sculptors including a very nice Alexander Calder. Lots of people picnic there and wander around.

Worthwhile for a quick visit if the weather is good

By Marblehead750 |

The iconic spoon and cherry is the drawing card, but there are lots of other sculptures in the park. I was there late in the summer, so the wildflowers were tall and had lots of bees and butterflies present.

Very Interesting

By ZenHealer7 |

Some very interesting, larger than life size sculptures in an outdoor setting. Very beautifully done. Do not miss the pedestrian bridge that connects to the Park across the highway. It is awesome.

Sunshine and Art - What More Could You Need?

By PriusGirlVA |

I hadn't been to the sculpture garden in years and years, and happen to be in town for a conference. What a delight! Many of the works were similar to pieces at the Hirshhorn in Washington, DC, which is fabulous. This is a perfect place to stroll on a sunny day. Highly recommend.

Minneapolis Sculpture Garden

By spseal77 |

If there is an iconic image that represents Minneapolis to the world it is Claes Oldenburg's Spoonbridge and Cherry. The sculpture is in fact a fountain and has it's own little pond. It takes center stage in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden.
But the garden has been recently remodeled and new features have been added. The most popular of the newest pieces, is the big blue rooster. It's funny in that it suggests a sexual innuendo, it's static and stiff pose fleshing out the humor.
Great restaurants and a brew pub within a 4 minute walk. MSG is open all year.

if you like sculptures it is good

By travel44jllh |

We enjoyed this park. The sculptures were mostly abstract. Not much in the way of flowers. People seemed to be parking across the footbridge.

Good visit

By jackson m |

The MN sculpture garden was a good visit. It was fun seeing all the different sculpture around the park. It would recommend going early in the morning or in the spring because it was hot when we went in June other then that it was a fun visit.

Great place for a quiet walk

By AnnetteRM2015 |

A nice place for a quiet walk and lots of sculptures to admire. There's more than the spoon and cherry, including a Henry Moore.

Fun Experience

By Free Karma |

Fun art sculpture park to photograph. Few hours-half day although during my visit there was a Zephyr floating in the neighborhood, great experience. Recommend for solo or family. Under $10 for parking garage nearby.

Note: *Actual visited in March, 2020.

Beautiful

By Tessa P |

I went with a friend on a beautiful day and enjoyed walking threw the sculpture Garden. I highly recommend going

Classic must see

By Jean B |

Lucky to have beautiful weather. Make a point to find the tree filled with chimes. Stop and listen a bit.

This sculpture park should make the city proud

By GranZorro |

It is truly amazing what the city's park department managed to put together. A variety of high quality works by many recognized artists. A must see.

Great trails and views!

By Savannah N |

Went here in July for a first date, the atmosphere was incredible. It was a beautiful day and the art sculptures give us something to talk about while enjoying fresh air and social distancing. I paid to park underground at the parking ramp, but have heard there is reliable street parking to the west of the garden.

Fun and Interesting!

By Kay R |

A very family friendly place. Lots of space to run and play between the sculptures. A beautiful of the city also.

Summer Afternoon of Art

By Eric |

Take the opportunity to appreciate the Arts that exist in the cities. We took time between sports tournament games to expose kids to other things that don't include a ball. We spent about an hour and a half walking and observing the different sculptures. I think the boys liked the over spray from the cherry sculpture to cool them down most. Haha. Make sure you walk over the bridge and around Loring Park. Save $4 and try to park on the streets instead of the pay lot.

Beautiful

By Leilany V |

Went here with my sister and we had a blast. Beautiful sculptures, great weather, it is a great place to take pictures. I definitely recommend going as a family/friends outing!

Interesting sculptures in a serene setting.

By Tom O |

Beautiful sculptures in a serene setting is how I can best describe this sculpture garden near downtown Minneapolis. It was a nice 75 minute walk thru a well maintained, orderly, peaceful park with others also there to appreciate art. It was never dull as the pieces are varied in their approach and thoughtfully arranged.

There are places to sit and observe the installations or just take in the day if you choose. This is a definite see if you are visiting this interesting city.

Get off I-94 for a visit

By wicomet |

This park is in a great location just south of downtown. The sculptures are fun and soaked out nicely. Spoon and Cherry Bridge is one of the most recognizable Mpls icons and a must visit.

Disappointing

By Trish A |

I expected this to be much nicer than it was. Pictures online are deceiving. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to visit this.

Don’t miss this .

By Minkpoint |

If Minneapolis is your destination, the sculpture garden is a must. Walk at your own pace, and see great sculpture and relax.

A solo or a family event

By Kaopas |

An enjoyable day. Walk through the museum or the sculpture garden. Or play some mini golf. Plenty of photo opportunities.

Free, Thought provoking, and Enjoyable!

By cool_teacher590 |

The sculpture garden is full of many unique and interesting pieces of art. I love the fact that this is a free activity for people to come and visit over and over again. If I lived in Minneapolis, I think this is a place that I would enjoy visiting on a regular basis. The sculptures were all very different, and most of them were quite large in scale (bigger than you would find inside a museum), so that added to the wonderment of it all.
