Mount Rubidoux offers easy access to the top. There is a black top path that curves to the top of the hill. I saw many people of all ages and sizes going up and down. There are also some dirt paths off of the black top on the sides and backside if you want to get away from the crowds. There is a good view of Riverside and the surrounding area. It can be a quick or long and easy hike, depending on how long you want to stay.

Had a great hike to Mt Rubidoux on a heat away with my husband. It was a great hike with lots of places to stop & enjoy the view along the way.

This place is awesome for some good exercise and a great view of Riverside! It gets a little crowded for my liking, but the people are friendly and the view is fantastic. One thing is watch where you park! The best is to park about two streets away towards downtown.

If you want to get shot. You go their ,it's great for Fourth of July and Easter, other wise I stay away from their

Took a late afternoon walk up the paved trail. Beautiful scenery and great views, well worth the energy!

Had a quiet walk up Mount Rubidoux and enjoyed every step. Everyone wore a smile as they passed on the way up or down. Great reminder of how awesome the people are in our community.

Mt. Rubidoux's hiking trails are a great way to get a little exercise in while taking in a beautiful view of Riverside and Rubidoux. Two paved paths make it easy to make your way to the cross or flag, or you can try a dirt path that is a little more challenging, and I recommend trail runners for those routes.

A great place to take a walk. There are places of interest around almost every corner and great views. You do need to be aware of your surroundings and watchful of wildlife. I have seen lizards, but have friends who have photographed snakes.

great hiking trail with amazing views from the top. This is a very unexpected gem in the middle of Riverside, you will be surprised

My family and I take walks here. There are paths with differing difficulty levels, that make a friendly challenge fun for the whole family.

After parking at Ryan Bonominio parking lot for over a year now I decided to park in a residential neighborhood along Mt Rubidoux Dr. Big mistake. Never had an issue at Bonominio but the one time I parked in the residential neighborhood I had my car broken into. The drivers side glass was smashed. Only a few stupid things were taken that mean nothing to me but now I have to have the window replaced. The area seems nice but on further reflection it is an isolated area. The people that live there all seem to have garages so I assume that theives think the only cars parked on the street are people that are going to walk Mt Rubidoux. They know you will be gone for a while. It is like putting a large sign on your car that says, be back in an hour!!!! Back to Bonominio for me.

It's such a great place to hike! I am so glad that I live here and get to experience this often with my family. The only down side is the JERKS who let their dogs poo on the trail and don't pick it up! Gross!!
You can do the hike different ways to keep it interesting and it is well paved. Make sure no valuables are in plain sight when you park your car at the park. Just sayn'.

The mountain looks like a perfect attraction. It's a beautiful rock with a mild paved trail. The views are spectacular from the bottom to the top. On top of that, there is a lot of history and interesting structures: the cross at the very top, a chapel and a bridge.
The rock is very beautiful and similar to what you'd see in Joshua Tree National park. Since you go around the mountain, you'll get great views at any time of the day, but the sunsets are especially spectacular.
And it's free!
Highly recommended.

This is nice hike, I recommend going early in their morning before the sun it’s strong. The trail is paved and there is very clean.

About 1mi/1.6km from the Mission Inn Hotel downtown. If you limit your run/walk to the lower corniche, the elevation change is manageable. I did not go to the top - the barriers seemed intimidating. If you follow the lower trail from the intersection of university and the park, you'll wind up at 14th, 7 blocks from 7th and an additional 3/4 mi from the mission Inn. Well- used waking path, paved, a few runners. Less pretty than it might be due to fencing that bounds the park. Still, a nice walk/run...

Stayed at the Mission Inn for my birthday weekend and wanted to see Mt. Rubidoux. Lots of people with dogs and kids in tow. Seems to be a popular family destination. We love to walk and really enjoyed the trip up the hill on one path and the way down on another path. It was slightly over at on the morning and thankfully stayed on the cooler side until we made it down to the bottom and our car. Loved the history behind the park and the cross at the top.

I was curious about what all the hype was about, so I decided to try it out. While its a nice hike up and down, once up theres just far too many people hanging out and too many unsupervised kids. People playing boom boxes, smoking, etc. Most people on the trails up and down are surprisingly pleasant saying hello to passers by, etc but its just certain areas of the trails you have people who are unpleasant as if you're in their way and they are expecting you to move. Parking is crowded before you begin your journey and again people hanging out in the parking lot so be aware of your surroundings and I wouldn't leave too many personal items in your vehicle in the parking lot. It was just okay, no where near what allies hyped up to be. Like most trails you made it to the top "whoopee" theres not much to see at the top, maybe a couple cool bird species but thats it. It's not like hiking the trails near Griffith Observatory or hiking Yosemite.

We thoroughly enjoyed our hike to top of Mt Rubidoux. Beautiful view of the surrounding area. Best place to park is at the park at Tequesquite Ave & San Andreas Ave.

Nice hike , nice views and paved trail to the top ! Not sure what else I can add to complete the 100 characters , oh yes, bring water and there’s no restrooms that I know of up there !

Last year, my wife and I were travelling in the Empire Inland area and came across Mt Rubidoux quite be accident. We parked at the Carlson Dog Park which is situated immediately next to the mountain and decided to hike up the face to the summit. We never did reach the top as it was a challenge but we did see people at the top so we knew there were easier ways of getting up to the top than our chosen route. This year we returned. We parked at Ryan Bonamonio Park located at 5000 Tequesquite Ave. There is ample parking at this location and it is a short distance to get to Mt Rubidoux. The walk itself is not overly hard up the mountain as there are several paved pathways which lead to the top. As your on your way up, you have spectacular views of the surrounding area. If it was a hot day, probably good to bring water to keep hydrated. This is a nice walk / hike. Very peaceful place to be. Recommended.

A busy trail. Pleasant, sunny, open. Several options for going to the stop - steep or longer and less steep. Great views on top and some nice history signage. Treat yourself to a hike!

Be sure to do this hike with friends as it's not always the safest place in Riverside. I used to live there for many years and there have been incidences in the areas there and cars broken into so best to park on the side of the entrance off 10th street in the residential neighborhood.

Great place to walk or run and generally explore. Great views of all of the surrounding mountain ranges and valleys. You also have Flabob airport below you on one side and get nice views of folks landing & taking off from there. Nice place for the family, too.

Great trails to run, paved and well manicured. Mostly desert but great view of downtown Riverside from the top.
There are water fountains at the bottom but none on the way up so bring a bottle if it's hot.

My husband and teen son enjoy to hike and explore the park. We always have a fun time hiking there. Fun for all families.

my two little boys (ages 6 and 8) hiked Mt. Rubidoux while in cali. they really enjoyed climbing the mountain and making their own trail up the hill. I didn't expect it to take that long and only brought one bottle of water, which we ran out two-thirds of the way down the mountain, so make sure you bring plenty of water with you. a snack would definitely be a bonus, too.
the view from the top and along the way were breathtaking. there is a cross on top of the mountain as well as an American flag and a tower on the side close to the flag.
it took us about three hours to do the hike, mostly because I followed the wrong trail down and ended up on the opposite side of the mountain from where I parked! LOL
I would definitely do this again! lots of fun for the kids and a great workout for mom, too!

Smack in the middle of Riverside is an interesting and enjoyable park. If you don't like desert, stay home but if you want a mildly challenging uphill slog on paved trails this is your place. A couple of great loop trails, great views of the surrounding area, and some interesting monuments on top. Easy parking at the base in a muni park that has restrooms, water, and such. Good way to burn a few calories and a couple of hours. Not much shade so morning or evening is best.

The view was incredible once I reached the top. It is a safe, popular area to exercise. Dogs are allowed on the trail. There are places to stop and sit on benches. Highly recommend, if you love the outdoors.

Beautiful view of the city and Santa Ana river bed out to the surrounding hills and good hiking trail. Bring water to hike once on the trail there is no facilities nor water.

If you live in the Inland Empire or are visiting this area, this is a nice place to come for a morning hike. My wife and I also come here for biking. It has a nice bike path. No cars and not too many people. There's a park so if you have kids, it's a really nice place too. There are always groups and families there.

This highly-recommended, easy to moderate (your pick of trails), hike will only set you back an hour or so, less if you're in tip-top shape and don't enjoy the views or read the historic markers and wildlife along the way. Round trip is approx 3 miles, depending on the route you take.
At the top, you'll enjoy beautiful views, great photo-ops.
Dogs are allowed, but please be considerate and pickup after them; bags provided.
Afterwards, stop at 'Butch's Grinders' on Brookside for a great deli sandwich!

If your in the area . I would recommend for you to take a hike up Mount Rubidoux . Such a beautiful view of Riverside

Mount Rubidoux offers several exercise options:
Stroll to the top,
Power walk to the top,
Run to the top,
Bicycle to the top.
Whatever your fitness level, you can get a good workout. And, along the way you will have a great view of downtown Riverside and the Rubidoux area.
I think its best to take the hike during cool weather, as there is almost no shade. You may also consider taking along something to drink as there is no drinking fountain along the way.

I am not a hiker, I went for a challenge to myself.
So of course I took the shorter and steeper path.
I was glad I did.
There are no rails for those who may have wondered.
There is a sense of safety though. Everyone was polite as some went faster than others.
The last part climbing up the naturally rugged stones could be challenging for some.
I particularly enjoyed the Cross at the top. It was a personal epiphany.
Went Feb 16, 2017 and I will go back now that’s Spring to take more pictures.

The cross on the hill has an interesting history and worth a visit. The downside is that you need to hike to the top on the Mount to get a good view of the City of Riverside.

This is an absolute must-do if you are visiting the Inland Empire and enjoy doing outdoor activities! A wonderful hike that is completely paved and easily managed both on the way up as well as coming down. It is just slightly above 1 mile to the top, and the loop is just over 2 miles completely. It is a relatively easy hike even for folks of moderately good health, and offers a 360 degree view of the Inland Empire at the top. The cross and waving flag are breathtaking to see, and offers several spots for tranquility and solitude if that is what you may be looking for. There are historical markers that give significantly important details pertaining to the park and the cross located at the top of the loop. It is a hike that my wife and I will be doing every time we visit the IE from now on! Be sure to bring water and proper shoes for the hike. A light sweater or windbreaker would be recommended for fall/winter as some of the shady spots are quite chilly on the trail.

The view from the top looking down on Riverside is fantastic. It is about medium difficulty so you will need to stop and rest a couple of times. You can bring your dog.

The view from the top is spectacular and it is a wonderful work out getting to the top. Easy path to get there but it is a long walk.

mountain gives a few hundred feet elevation rise on smooth surface.
views all around as you circle the mountain on ascent/descent.

We love walking up Mt. Rubidoux for exercise and the views. Warning...no restrooms and it closes at dusk.

The walk to the top of Mt Rubidium is challenging to some. Thank is well kept and smooth. Crowds can be a problem as it is a very popular evening walk. Parking is also an issue but we have never had a problem between the street and Ryan Bonamino park. Bring water you will need it

Good trails near river and around the mountain. Hard to find parking. Bring drinks and snacks, no shops. Never saw a bathroom. Nice dog park.

I have hiked to the top of Mount Rubidoux on several times and brought along my 10yo daughter and 12yo son. I have seen people wit children younger than mine so I would say this is a good outing for kids. This short hike has a couple of different options for difficulty. The paved trail around the right of the mountain is the easiest way up, the paved trail to the left is a little steeper and provides more of a challenge. for the greatest challenge there is a few dirt trails that run straight up to the top. Once at the top you have a great 360 degree view of the area. There is some historical plaques that provide interesting information on the history of the Mountain and Riverside itself. The Peace Tower and Bridge is a unique feature it is small and qucik and esy to eplore. I see cyclist, dog walkers, families and moms with strollers making this hike and everyone I have encountered is courteous. The parking is a negative and a positive. With the addition of parking at Ryan Bonamino park you can actually now have a safe place to park, the negative is the parking is still not enough on busy weekends or weeknights, also plan on a short walk up an incline from the parking lot to the trailhead. I recommend good shoes and a bottle of water for this hime

A two and a half (give or take) mile that gives incredible views of Riverside and most of inland Southern California. Depending on your fitness level you can take a leisurely walk on a slight incline that circumvents the mountain three times or take a more steep path that only goes around once. The more adventuresome might like to hike the dirt path or bring climbing gear and scale one of the many rock formations, all with in walking distance from downtown. Plenty of historic markers denoting the visits of Father Junipero Serra and Henry Huntington to name a few.
Good for all ages!

This is a steep trail leading up this large hill. A local spot for athletics to get some exercise. It has historical fixtures and structures making it an interesting workout.
You WILL be walking up a steep road on a road. Because this is a hill/mountain your parking is not close to the site.

This is a great way to see the entire Inland Empire. If you stay on the trails, the hike is not too strenuous, but there were some adventurous hikers who went off the beaten path for a riskier trek. The cross at the top is awe-inspiring. The giant U.S. is amazing. Can't wait to go back!

I found this park when searched for some place to hike with wheelchair. This place is perfect for this. Paved paths are with no holes and almost with no cracks. You can choose a way steeper or easer. Good views around the park. Don't believe any announcement that park is closed at weekend. It's always open!
But there are some problems here. First the parking is quite far away from the park and even places for disabled persons are about 200 yards down the slop! The second is the heat! That's really warm place during the summer time and don't forget to take water with you!

This hike is awesome. It's an easy two mile hike to the top on a wide, paved path with a gradual grade. We hiked to the top in daylight and returned in the dark. Watch out where you park and read the fine print on the parking signs. I got a $41 parking ticket!

The wife and I wanted to get a good run in and I've heard this is the place to do it, we when there and ran all the way up to the cross.

I love going here. It's very calming. It's a nice hike. The view at sunset is beautiful. I find something new almost everytime I go whether it's an engraving on one of the rocks, a scripture, plaques, or new people. I always meet friendly hikers here.I've seen people hang out at the top and listen to music. If I go alone or with friends, I always enjoy my time here.

Most youth are found sitting in front of a tv or computer screen. I suggest we as parents turn off the tv or computers, grab a couple water bottles, an orange or apple, our children and a dog or two and drove to the base of Mt Rubidoux.
There are two paths to walk up. One side which goes to the right is longer and less steep. It can be accessed off 9th street. The other is accessible from the Ryan Bonnamino park on Redwood and it cuts to the left side of the mountain. The path is shorter and very steep. There are road markers to let you know the distance you travelled.
Sadly the only bathrooms are located back at the park on Redwood so you may want to use it before your head up.

This is a beautiful hike up Mt Rubidoux in downtown Riverside. A must do. It's fairly steep in sections so if you're not in hiking shape just take it slow...it's worth it at the top!
The views are spectacular and it's a walk through Riverside history... be sure to research before you hike it makes the experience even more interesting.
On a nice day bring a picnic and eat at the top! The way down is a lot faster.
In the summer months go for sunrise, it's beautiful and a lot cooler.

GPS takes you straight to the mountain but finding a place to park that is not restricted is a bit tricky. I found an open space on the street but as I went to pull in, there was broken glass that appeared to be from a car and had read some reviews on here to be careful leaving items in view in your car. If I had more time I probably would have parked at the dog park and walked.

This doesn't quite qualify as a hike (paved road), however, it is a decent walk with a reasonable gain in elevation. It's not overly challenging, and you will find a wide range of people on the trail. There are side trails that are not paved where you can hike, explore, or ride a mountain bike. Bring some water and enjoy!

We didn't know where we were walking. There were many students and parents went to the top of this mount.
My wife and I liked that. We like hiking.
We enjoyed the cacti I like that.
Everyone were happy.
They ended at the cross. It was truly huge.
We had beautiful view from here.
Yes there were trees, cacti, a tower and a bridge.
However the most people came here went to the cross.
The US flag was there as well.
There was a tower.
I will remember all these people at the cross. Wow!
A must see!

A person at my hotel suggested we try walking to Mt. Rubidoux and hike around. We were very pleased with the results. There are many trails to walk on.

This park is not only great for exercise but it's great for a scenic freelance photographer to gain some of the most incredible pictures ever from atop the Rubidoux mountain trails. Anywhere is a great view. Lots to see and learn as you journey up the mountain. Doesn't matter if you're just starting a new regime of exercise or a workout junkie this mountain has something for everyone. Kids love it and I love that they love it! Definitely a great place to visit and experience. One of the best places to visit when visiting the very beautiful Riverside city Mission Inn downtown region.

My boyfriend and I decided to hike this yesterday unexpectedly. Plans were cancelled en route leaving us in Riverside and we decided to look up local things to do. This is a great and enjoyable FREE hike. It wasn't too hard to find (our phones and map died on the way), just follow signs posted. There are two paved paths. Like others mentioned, one is steeper and shorter the other is flatter and longer. There is pretty much no shade on the way up the hill. So go in the evening or morning. Bring your own water. Free parking. Dog friendly. The site said it was closed when we looked it up at 7ish PM technically the signs posted say closes 30 minutes before sunset- times change seasonally. So keep that in mind and plan accordingly. Great little piece of history!

My Besty and myself love the trail, but I must agree with the comment saying, it should be called dog poop trail. There’s dog bags available, but sadly most people don’t give a (crap). 🥺

My wife and dogs go to this animal friendly park for our after dinner walks. We throw our dog in the back of our truck and join hundreds of similar minded people.
We enjoy meeting other people, dogs, cats and lizards. Lol yes we have seem a lizard on a walk. The most funny thing ever!
Some people bike up the mountain, some run, walk, wheel chair themselves up the mountain or are assisted by family members or friends. Great people every were.

I stayed at the Mission Inn and looking for a good place to run in the morning. There is a mix of paved and ground trails. The paved trail circles the mountain with a very gentle grade. The unpaved trails switchback up the mountain. Very interesting places with different views as you go around the mountain. There is probably 300-400 feet of elevation over the surrounding area with views of the mountains to the east and west. There is some trash which does detract and erosion around where people have cut the switchbacks. Few trees, so probably gets unbearably hot in the afternoon, but great for a run at dawn. No restrooms.

Great walking trail and good slope to provide a slight challenge. Animal Friendly and other walkers/joggers are typically very courteous.

Great hike to the top and then an awesome view in all directions. Go early in the day while it is cooler, take your own water and a light snack. Great walk with the Grandkids

Went here for an evening hike with a group of kids. Although it was past 8 the path was quite visable. There were quiet a few people out this evening so it was safe even at night.

Really liked my relaxing stroll up this Riverside landmark, well worth an hour to get to the top. Felt totally safe, lots of families, parking can be an issue.

A view of spectacular mountains awaits you after you climb to the top. The paved paths are manageable but you will get a workout. Some even ran up and down. Parking is located in sports complex about 500 meters from the entrance. Admission is free, parking plentiful and scenery breathtaking. We went there while we had a break in bad weather in what was otherwise a rainy, weeklong vacation.

This has always been a favorite of mine and it can be very peaceful at the top. All your cares are gone, if for just a short while. The views in every direction are gorgeous!

Great hike up to top of mountain with two options of trail difficulty. People of all ages hike the mountain and many dog lovers. Love to make it to top and take additional laps around top of mountain to challenge myself. Usually clear view of Riverside and beyond. Only complaint is to the inconsiderate dog owners who let the dogs do their business on the trail (& they even provide dog waste bags for your convenience). And, for the graffitiers who try to destroy natures beauty but park managers keep place clean and enjoyable.

Great place to hike. Also has some great history. It is about 4 miles total get to top and back down. Great views of Riverside.

My young adults love coming here an hiking to the top! Easy Hike and great views! I would love to do the hike but due to an injury I can not.

Walk of 30 minutes, easy route and all paved, family environment and dog mtos. I recommend the view!!!

This is a great place to take the family and seems to have most everything to offer from being outdoors to great views. There are many different ways to access this and types of trails.

Riverside is so pretty and so much of it can be seen from here. The only drawback is how crowded it gets as it’s the only place for a real hike without traveling out of town to the mountains. Usually we hike to be alone. As long as you accept you are going to be on an outing like a public park, then you will enjoy yourself!

There’s no water to wash your hands! Why? I come here so often and the sink is not working. Why? Why? Anaheim parks and hiking trails are number 1

My rubidoux has a few different trails two of which are paved do it's good for little kids and/or moms with strollers.

When I lived in Riverside we used to run up to the top of Mt Rubidoux at least once a month. Great place to see the valley.

Right in our own backyard! Could this be any better? Trails, nature, birding, bicycle friendly, dog friendly, family friendly. It's a place to peacefully stroll or do a strenuous workout. Parking is close by. AND IT'S ALL FREE! How great is that?

One doesn't need to be a super (sports) hero to walk up mount Rubidoux... and the views from up there are worth the "effort": Riverside on one side and Jurupa Valley on the other, sitting by the big cross and just enjoy the landscape is a great experience!

If you are running or walking and enjoying the company of someone, this is a place to go. Great views. I wouldn't drive 100 miles to get here but if you are in the area it's great.

Very enjoyable...great views. Weather was perfect. Great Mike tesils as well. Good place to picnic. Enjoy a nice lunch

Mt. Rubidoux Park is located just west of downtown Riverside. The "park" consists of two paved walkways around and up the small mountain. One route is a shallower 2 miles while the other is a steeper 1.25. The hikes include several historic markers and provide excellent views of Riverside and the surrounding area. The morning we hiked there were lots of hikers, including families and dog-walkers, but the walkways are wide enough to easily accommodate multiple hikers. This is a pleasurable morning hike, but may be a bit stressful in the afternoon if the temperature is high, for there is no shade on this rocky mountain. Also be aware there are no restrooms.

This is a wonderful place to climb up the mountain. You can circle the mountain on paved sidewalks or paths to get to the top. Once at the top, the view is breathtaking.

I've been here several times and my friends go a lot.Beautiful view at top.A cross is up at the top so I usually Thank God when I get to the top It's a reminder of what Jesus did on the cross for those who have Faith.,if not you don't have to look at it.

The paved pathway to the top of Mt Rubidoux makes the walk safe and enjoyable and follows the Leave No Trace principle of traveling on durable surfaces. The old dirt trails were nice but were often washed away and people doing shortcuts through areas off trail caused issues with the trails so staying on the wide paved pathway is good all the way around. The pathway is wide enough that faster walkers won't be hampered by slower walkers, strollers can be used for small children, and it is safe.

I was going through somethings in my life. I walk the trail to the cross and prayed. Enough said. God is good

Mt Rubidoux is a regular place I go for hiking and running. It is a very good trail and view from top of hill. If you are planning to visit during the summer months make sure to go early morning.

We took our young granddaughter and her two puppies. Thoroughly enjoyed our time in the park. Next time we visit, we plan to take a picnic and spend more time there.

On a clear day, there are fabulous views of Riverside! Mt. Rubidoux is a big part of Riverside's history and is "used" regularly by everyone. It's a great hike…families, kids, dogs (on leash) all ages and nationalities…great way to spend a morning!

4 of us took this hike to kill a little time. I was amazed at how many families were out hiking on a Sunday morning. As we wound our way toward the top we were able to see the Riverside area from all directions - farm land, housing, downtown, mountains. Very beautiful, not an overpowering hike. Plenty of rest areas. Very courteous and friendly hikers.

Two pathways.. definitely recommend this place. Once at the top.. views of Riverside are awesome. Restrooms would be nice if added

One of our favorite places to walk and get some exercise. We go up the right side, which is longer, but not as steep.
Due to the park and ample parking at the base of the hill, it is now quite crowded there day and night. However, everyone is friendly and there are enough people that it feels safe. However, sometimes it’s so crowded that you actually have to move out of the way for people.
Beautiful view at the top and a nice place to explore or just rest and take it all in.

I live not too far from Mount Rubidoux. It is a great place to walk and get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors with a great view. Tons of history and unique things to see along the way.

This is such a nice park with beautifully paved trails to the top. It was wonderful to see so many people out taking advantage of it. The views from the top are beautiful, its a must do!!

The world peace bridge was a gift to Frank Miller for the Huntington family. The first Sunrise service in the united states was on Mt. Rubidoux. The Miller family errected a big cross on the mountain for the services. Many use that cross as a land mark and I have found the park a great place to go and pray. My family and I also love it as a picnic spot. You can get a great view of all of Riverside and on the other side you can see Rubidoux and watch small aircraft take off and land at Flaybob airport. And if you ever wanted to know where the river was in Riverside, you will find out. Take water, there is none up there.

I love walking up to this mountain. It is about a 2 mile or so walk. I love sitting under the cross or flag & reading my bible & looking out into what God has created. It's a beautiful place!

This is a wonderful place for a less than strenuous walk to the top. The view in all direction on a clear day is terrific. We happened on a view spot on the north side where we were treated to the Riverside Police Department working radar on Mission Blvd. for numerous speeders. What fun. And set the calendar for the Easter climb. Again. A lot of fun at the top.

My daughter and I hiked this trail on December 21, 2014. I have hiked this trail before alone and felt safe. The trail is asphalt and goes around the mountain and I find it quite easy. We park in the Carlson Bark Park which is off Mission Inn Blvd and there is a walkway along Mission Inn Blvd - you can watch and hike on dirt until you get to the asphalt path or there is a ramp before the bridge and you turn right and walk up the asphalt path. This ramp is in front of a large, beautiful home. The hike takes about 30 minutes to the top and about 20-30 minutes down the trail. Usually there are a number of people on the trail. If you get confused about which way to take down, just look up at the top of the mountain and remember where you parked your car. There is a cross and American flag on top of the mountain. The first time I hiked this trail I took an incorrect path on the way down and then had to walk around the mountain through a neighborhood to return to my car. If it is a clear day, the view of Riverside from the top of the mountain is beautiful. Good picture taking on top of the mountain while standing/sitting on top of a rock (be careful and make sure you have good balance).

This is a great hike up Mt. Rubidoux with wonderful views of Downtown Riverside and Rubidoux. Everyone should do this hike at least once. The trail is paved. Please bring doggie bags with you if you bring your dog.

I run this mountain everyday and let me tell you it's wonderful .. Aside from the dog droppings everywhere it's a beautiful hike to the top

Don't go between noon and 5 pm in the summer, it's too hot. It gets crazy busy right before sunset. Beautiful views, 2 different paths, one steeper but shorter but still not a difficult climb.

This hike isn't very difficult but you will work up a sweat and the view is gorgeous. So worth it. I make it there once a week. It's a great lil workout. Just be careful w parking because they will give you a ticket.

My wife and like to hike Mt Rubidoux early in morning or for a nice sunset. Parking is pretty easy at the near by park. There are 2 hiking options as well. It’s a new way to get out and exercise.

great view and a nice walk on a Weekend, gives you an overview of riverside and on a clear day you can see Corona

Moderately challenging running trail with great views of the city of Riverside, Santa Ana River and mountains in the distance.
Started my run at Boniminio Park near the intersection of Tequesquie and Palm. It was 2.05 miles to the top taking the long route which stays to the right at the split.
The top has a cross which you have to scramble to. There are also a flag pole and a castle bridge right before the top.
Took the shorter steeper route down and it measured 1.5 miles. Recommend this run or hike and it seems to have lots of hikers on the way.
I parked on Tequesquite Street.

This is a great place to exercise and walk up Mt. Rubidoux. All you need is to walk this park 2 - 3 times a week to stay in great shape. I love going there for early morning walks. Weekends is a busy time. I prefer weekday walks.

Mt. Rubidoux is not too difficult to hike and the views are great. For an easier experience, stay on the asphalt pathway. If you want to be adventurous, hiking via the hillside can be challenging.

Not really a hike since the main paths are paved, but a moderate-effort walk. Pretty views from the top. Water available at the trailhead. Easy, free parking in the park at the bottom of the neighborhood. Go early in the day - there's no shade on the trail.

Mount Rubidoux is a great place for a short hike - you can take one of the many steep dirt tracks up or find the trail head and follow the paved route. There are miles of routes up there and amazing views, take in the history and make sure to do the photo op from the cross at the top with the amazing vista as a backdrop - you can literally see in all directions for miles and miles.

This is a great local place in Riverside to go if you want to get in a good run, walk your dog, socialize, etc. There are multiple paths up Mt. Rubidoux. There are easier ways and harder ways. You can hike the paved paths, or their are more difficult dirt paths. This is a very common place for the locals. There are peak hours that you might want to avoid if you don't like a lot of people around. You get a bit of history, get to see some landmarks, get killer views from the top once you get up there. You can go down to the dog park if you like when you are done, or even before. The Santa Ana river is also at the bottom of it. I sometimes go to the river and hike down it with my dogs for miles. It is pretty close to down town as well, so if you want to go eat or anything than you are within five to ten minutes of good food as well. People of all kinds come here with their friends, families and dogs. It is a great little place to go.

My Rubidoux is a nice walk or run to the top with a great view once you get there. Make sure you don’t leave valuables in your park if you park at the bottom, as the area has a history of car break ins

Great place to run uphill. Great view of the valley. You find lots of people jogging or walking as early as 5am.

I love going here for the view. There only down side is a lot of people like this place for the view also, if you want it all to yourself come at sunrise and there will be very few people. Comes in the evening and it's crowded but you can also get some street vendor food after your walk.

I've been walking up Mt. Rubidoux since I was a little girl. I have amazing memories there and I still love going up on Saturday mornings with my sisters and my mom. On clear days you can see all of Riverside.

Love to take our dog for a walk. We've also been attending Easter sunrise service for the past 3 years.

Since you have to park at Bonominio Park, your hike up Rubidoux may take you a few more steps than you planned for. This hike is famously busy throughout the day and early evening.
I tried this for the first time, and was able to make it to the top! If it is a hot day, I would recommend going early before the sun starts to roast you!
There are no bathrooms on the route, so make sure you use the facilities before starting the hike.
You are sure to see plenty of people to "people watch".
Several routes to choose from.

On 27 June 2020, I decided to venture out of the house after the Corona Virus lock down restrictions have been rescinded for Riverside County. Drove over to Mt. Rubidoux Park, located in Riverside, California and hiked the 4.3 Kilometer (2.7 miles) loop trail from the parking lot to the top of the mountain. Trail is accessible and pave all the way from the parking lot to the top of the mountain. There are two entries. One is on 9th Street and the other is on Glenwood Drive. Best parking is at Ryan Bonaminio Park. Walk up Glenwood Drive to access the trail. Noted several hikers on the trail, some wearing masks and other without masks. Many historic markers and memorials have been placed on the mountain, the most prominent being the cross at the summit dedicated to Father Junípero Serra. Unfortunately the cross was significantly vandalized. on the evening of 26 June 2020. The Cross was spray painted red and numerous holes chopped into the base of the cross. How pathetic, that someone would desecrate a Cross. Trail is ideal for all skill levels and dogs on a lease are ok. As one ascends and descends the mountain one see a beautiful panoramic view of the dry river bed and the city of Riverside. Plan on giving yourself at least 2 to 3 hours to complete the circuit. Also be sure to bring a hat and plenty of water. Restroom facilities are not available. A perfect way to spent several hours out in the sound and to get a bit of exercise. Truly an enjoyable activity.

This really is a beautiful hike. Very wide well groomed track that goes upside one side of the mountain and down the other. Beautiful area to rest at the top and take in the views. I love it and animals are welcome.

This park is very well maintained and was an absolute joy to explore. I was in the area for a business trip and I had a 5 hour break so I decided to hike to the summit and it turned out to be the highlight of my trip. The views are breathtaking and the entire path is paved. When I got to the top there were some locations where you could go off the path safely. Take a look at my pics and you'll see why this hike is worth the trip!

Lovely hike to the top, paved walkway with much room to walk if you're with many people. Stunning views at the top!

This hike is like a free for all. There is a paved road that winds around the mountain but we also saw people jogging straight up so that's what we decided to do. It took about half an hour for us to jog up but the seasoned joggers took half that time. The view from the top is nice and the plaques and friendship bridge are very photogenic. I would like to go back here in late winter one day.

This is a great hike for the family. It is a little steep going up but there are spectacular views once you reach the summit.

Easy Walk Up the Trail its around 3 miles ,i usually go @ 930 10pm just because their isnt as many people & the night views are nice .
Also Good location for photographers
Parking is @ the park down the street

I have hiked here for years you will enjoy the most wonderful people here I hiked it two times a day until I moved to big bear
Give it a try enjoy the view

Nice paved hike with different levels of difficulty depending on which route you take. There's a lot of foot traffic of walkers, runners, dog walkers, and bicyclest.

Many people hike Mt. Rubidoux almost every day. Its a great workout and feels social even if you're by yourself. Best parking is at Ryan Bonominio Park just to the south of the mountain.

not clean, trash cans overflowing, people drinking bear, loud music.
did not enjoy our selfs, not for older people who want toenjoy them selfs.

Awesome hike. Paved hike is most traveled. But...You can take a partial dirt path up also. My daughter and I took part of the dirt path, saw many lizards, no snakes. Took us about 40Mins. to get up to the top. Nice views. Try to do this hike early or late when sun is not going to make it uncomfortably hot for you. There were many children going up with their parents. Older couples walking with dogs. We walked by small benches for resting and taking in views, under and over cute bridges, by huge USA flag and when we got to the top, there was a huge white Sign with cross says there is an Easter Sunday Service there. Must be nice. We highly recommend this hike. Running or walking or biking.

Amazing view! 360 degrees of Riverside county. We went at night and it was well worth it! Plan to spend 2hrs if you're not going for the exercise. If you are you will enjoy the scenic view while cruising up the hill on nicely paved trails. It's a workout either way. We strolled up and at the top climbed the rocks. My 12yr old son loved it. So glad we did this.

Amazing park. Close to America’s Best Value Inn. Got my morning walk and run. Great views of the city. Very pleasing. My favorite hotel and mountain jog in the same town.

This place is great for early morning walks and watching the sunset. It has many different paths for all ages and abilities. You can bike run, or walk. Lots of families with strollers and pets. Great for a evening sunset pick nic.

Mt. Rubidoux is popular with locals but not overcrowded. Expect to see lots of locals getting their workouts in, especially in the mornings. There are two routes to the top - longer, gradual incline or the shorter, steeper route which will take you about 15 minutes to get to the top. There is little shade so bring sun protection and plenty of water. Park at Ryan Bonamino Park (which has restrooms) and walk northeast up San Andreas to the trail head If you get lost, follow the people in workout gear!

This is a great hiking spot. I love taking the dogs for runs and walks. Also shows the history of everything the all the way up with plaques. fun way to learn some history.

My family and I have enjoyed hiking Mt. Rubidoux for many years. Each hike offers a different, refreshing view as you look out towards the Mission Inn and the city of Riverside while on the other side is a view of the Santa Ana River with its biking trail that takes you towards Norco and beyond. You will also see the growth of Jurupa and the road to Fontana.
There are plenty of parking at the soccer field park down below across the street where you can stop for your last bathroom break before you start warming your legs for the hike to the top of Mt. Rubidoux where you can rest while sitting on the rocks by the flag or under the shade of a nearby tree.

Mount Rubidoux Park is a nice (not too challenging) walk on a paved path. It is probably about a 3/4 mile walk up to a beautiful view of the surrounding area, Along the way and at the top you can take pictures of the mountains, and surrounding area. There are a few water filling stations along the way too. If you are interested in a little challenge with a great view as the prize then try Mount Rubidoux Park

This was a very nice trail. Nice desert looking trail with nice plants and some trees with a beautiful view. The incline up made a pretty good workout. Very well kept. I will definitely be going again! The Cross at the top is beautiful! I parked at the park (Ryan Bonaminio Park) and followed the people to the trail across the street and started up the mountain.

Paved incline trail with no shade but excellent view of the city and surrounding, and end of trail reward (see photo). Not recommended for summer.

This is a really fun, easy, and short hike with great views of Riverside. Not to mention, there is a small castle-like tower, large American Flag, and a beautiful giant cross that are worth a see at the top. The hike is only about 3 miles and has paved pathways. Parking is easy to find at the base of the mountain at the dog park. From there, you can walk towards the mountain and easily find the starting point of the hike. Be sure to do a little research of the history of this location to make your hike a little more interesting!

This place is outstanding! Great upkeep, amazing views and paved paths in case you have a party member who's a "newbie" to hiking! There's many paths, some easier than others. And the views! This is definitely a fantastic hike!

Nice afternoon hike. Paved all the way and scenic. A wonderful walk. When you reach the top you get to view the city from all angles.

This place is so awesome, peaceful, what a view. 👍take some excellent 📷. 👍so historical!! When I was younger I had an apartment at the foot of this mountain and I remember watching the 🔥from the lawn in front.

This trail is good for beginner and it was a relaxing hike. A little bit chilly but it was good time with family.

My husband and I love hiking up Mt. Rubidoux. From the parking lot at Ryan Bonemeno Park, to the top, and back down, is just over four miles. Plan on a good hour and a half to make the trip. There are paved trails (please stay on them), and interesting sights and historical markers along the way. A Riverside, California must-do!

Whenever we visit we try to climb this once or twice. Wonderful walking path - use to be for cars years ago. I love the history and the views. During Easter they have church service up there - possibly other times too. What a great amenity to the town of Riverside.

Great hike on a paved walkway to the top for a beautiful view of the surrounding area. Must say, I enjoyed the walk down more tha the walk up. People of all shapes and sizes were doing it

My favorite local hike ! I’m very fortunate to live close enough to enjoy hiking this venue once or twice a month !

Beautiful views, great climbing fun, got rid of a lot of energy. This is worth the time. Do it in the early morning.

Mt. Rubidoux is probably one of the most visited spots by locals in Riverside. A paved trail that splits about a third of the way up. One way is steeper and short, while the other is longer and easier to walk. The great thing about this trail is that some can walk and others who are more fit will run, making it a good exercise route for whatever your fitness levels is at. Since the trail is so popular it often gets a bit dirty with litter and people who don't pick up after their dogs. This is pretty much the big drawback of the place. Its popularity leads to it getting a bit rundown.

First time visiting this area from Pennsylvania. We parked at Ryan Bonaminio Park and walked across street and up the hill and to the entrance. There were lots of hikers, dog walkers and even runners headed up the hill as well but once we were on the trails the crowds vanished. The views were spectacular. We climbed on the paved trails, but once at the top we went geocaching that had us scrambling over rocks. Bring water and expect to take about 90 minutes to get to top and back. There is a water bottle filling station at the entrance. The park where we had parked had bathrooms. Worth doing regularly for exercise.

Enjoyed exploring the area. It is the polar opposite of what we have here in Virginia so it was really neat to see the differences.

A very invigorating walk. The view from the top is amazing. A panoramic view of the Inland Empire. Lots of history of the early days of this mountain.

It was a very nice morning walk. Love the fact that the hike is always enjoyable with the family. Once you reach to the top you get to enjoy the beautiful city view. Am or evening hike is enjoyable for sun rise or sun set.

Take this terrific scenic hike up Mount Rubidoux! The path is paved and the inclines are not steep. We walked with a seven-year-old, four-year-old, and a dog with no problem. The views were great and it was fun to get all the way up to the flag on one side and the cross on the other. Could not choose between God and country!

Due to some construction, we had to drive around, trying to follow road signs that were a bit unclear or lack of, to find the parking lot. But, when we found it, the trail was pretty nice and it was an easy hike. Towards the top, it offers a decent view of Riverside. Being in Riverside though, the sun could be a little intense.

It was a very nice scenic walk. Make sure you bring water with you. It is paved so that is nice, it was pretty windy the day we walked it so our sunglasses helped keep the dust out of our eyes.

Great place to walk or run! A nice challenge for those who enjoy the outdoors. Beautiful view as you travel up the trail.

a beautiful hiking spot - a good climb takes you to the top, but the path is paved and gradual as it slopes around the mountain. Many people do this hike as a daily ritual and it is always a great get-away in the middle of an urban area. The cross and views from the top are incredible in all directions. The San Bernardino and San Gabriel mountains to the east and north - San Gorgornia to the east, downtown is splayed below your feet to the south (lovely at sunset as the city lights come on) and the view to the west is beautiful over the Santa Ana river/plateau and on to the coast on a really clear day!!

Love this hike especially for the sunset. Its a nice paved road that you wan walk all the way to the top and have a really nice view.

We were looking for a place to walk around and burn off some energy after a morning and afternoon either in the car or at museums. What a great way to savor the day, get a little exercise and enjoy the many views of the Riverside area. The trails are well maintained and we enjoyed seeing all the families, seniors, etc outside getting some exercise. The total trip up and down was a little over an hour and we felt revitalized afterwards. All that for free!

This is a great way to spend with family, and enjoy spectacular views and exercise all at once. A very manageable walk up paved paths surrounded by green cactus and beautiful yellow flowers in the spring.

The mountain hiking trail is great there is a steep 1 mile trail, a low grade 3 mile trail and various other dirt trails. Great for kids, dogs(they have bags), water bottle fillers. On a clear day you can see the entire city. Has gotten very crowded since renovations and especially after work hours.

Mount Rubidoux is a great walk of approximately 2 miles on up road and 1 miles on down road. You can combine this into a 3+ mile walk or shorten things up by cutting off distance at the crossovers. If you check the map you can see two different figure 8 crossings where you can vary the mileage. The dirt trails can be steep, dusty and slippery. We attempted those with kids and bailed out part way up. If you plan to go off paving I would recommend boot of shoes with high traction soles. Conventional tennis and running shoes will not work. Note the historical cross at the top of the mountain. That now sits on a small piece of private property auctioned off by the city after a threatened lawsuit by atheists.

this is one of the great walks/hikes in the Riverside area.. most people park on the down road and walk about 1/3 of the way up the down road.. when you get to the big corner the down rd and the up road meet ... then you can do the rest of the walk on the up road.. the up road has a better view ... 360 degrees of the whole basin... you can see Evens park... santa ana river bottom.. Flabob airport .... and downtown Riverside ... if you make it to the top there is a diagram of all the buildings you are looking at... 3 miles loop if done this way ... some incline but easy to do ... and iam chubby... hee hee

Great walk great views and it's free and fun for all. Parking is easy and it's fun for all to walk the trails. Recommend this walk for families and dog lovers!

I love to go walking here, you get a great workout and it is fun. Lots of people go here. If you wanto get a good workout, this is the place to go. There is a beautiful cross The the top of the hill. I love it, I need to go more often.

I have only two places I return to constantly and this is one of them. It's such a beautiful hike and always relaxing. It's very pretty after lots of rain turning everything so green. You will always run into people on the hike (thankfully never over crowded when iv gone). I go different days and times and there is always someone there and they are always friendly saying hi or good morning while walking by. Lots of people walk their dogs there as well. I like to bring a picnic to the top to enjoy and relax. They also have a good sandwich shop at the base of the mountain across from the park called butches grinders. If your in riverside even for a short time I would recommend to make time for this hike. It's not to far from the mission inn either.

Outstanding hike to the top of Mt. Rubidoux. Well maintained, paved trails. There are 2 different trails that you can choose. 1 - 2 mile relatively easy trail and 2 - a 1 mile steeper more challenging trail. The 360 degree views are phenomenal as is the cross at the top of the mountain. On the downside, there are no restrooms so be sure to keep that in mind.

Burn fat super fast, exelent exercise, Beautiful views of the valley, you can take you're dog whit you too. There is a dog park, So you and your dog can get healthier

We started early. There were several schools. There was a lot of people. They came here for the whole day. We went walking to the tip of the mountains.
We have seen so many beautiful views.
Once at the top, there was a huge cross. Everybody went there first.
There was a tower as well and two bridges.
It took us at least 3 hours.
This is a must see!
P.S. The boulders were attractive!
I would like to go back there.

Very nice once you get to the top. We went for a Good Friday Service. Luckily the church offered Golf Cart Shuttle up to the top. I do not think my group could have made the hike up! Maybe I could but I would have to train for this! People take kids and pets and its nice once you get to the top. But be prepared, train for this it is not easy especially for out of shape, elderly, handicapped, or even taking up strollers!! The questions below ask is it good for picnics, family, big groups, if you are prepared. If you take food can you carry food and make this hike? Be prepared!

This is a great walk from the car park. You park your vehicle and then take the walk up the footpath to the park and a gentle climb to the top of the mountain. Accessible paved pathway all the way. Great panoramic views from the top. Give yourself at least 2 hours from the time you park your car.

A nice and quick hike. No gear necessary. Not very steep. It's a good spot to take a few pictures and relax

this was so magical and relaxing for an afternon walk with my friends, so pretty and making it to the top to the Cross was delightful, I think everyone should feel adventures and take a hike...

We have been hiking up this mountain for years. Not only is it a great safe hike but there are amazing old structures that were constructed in the 30s along the way to the top. There are always people walking up and down so you never feel like you're all alone. It is a paved road as it used to be open for vehicles but due to safety it is only a walking route now. Once you get to the top you have a 360° view and it is a beautiful view!

Me and my friends were in Riverside Downtown when we saw Mt. Rubidoux. We didn't really know if there was anything touristic over there, but we just felt like going up and it was a breathtaking experience (at least for those who are not from CA). I surely recommend it for everybody who's in Riverside looking for something different to do.

Park at the Ryan Bonaminio Park and walk up (please be courteous to nearby homeowners and apartment dwellers). There are several paved ways up. Stopped to admire the view or plow though if you are doing your cardio. There are great 360° views

Good to burn some calories....not too challenging, but good enough. Great views of the city all around.

The classic Riverside experience. A walk up Mt. Rubidoux is a local tradition going back more than a hundred years. Paved road restricted to pedestrians. Your reward: 360 degree views of the Inland Empire. Plenty of parking at Ryan Bonaminio Park on Tequesquite Ave. Great for families and dog walking. Bathrooms at the park.

If you like a challenge when walking at an incline you will like MOUNT RUBIDOUX.This place gives you many choices it yours to do what you will.If u want a short distance hike around the hill or if you want to walk around a short track u can. Like I said the challenge the heart pounding mountain is ALL UP TOO YOU.

I have using this park for about 50 years and it is a wonderful, fairly easy walk on the paved road or a more challenging but not too long hike on the dirt trails. That being said please be aware this is an unimproved park, which means NO BATHROOMS. I strongly suggest parking at very nearby Bonaminio Park, using the restrooms there and then starting your hike. Also, the only water is at the start of the trail nearest Bonaminio Park so BRING WATER. One last point, this park is NOT OPEN AT NIGHT. Although you would never realize that from the number of people up there after dark. If you are considerate and don't make too noise up there, probably no one will hassle you if you are up there after hours. However, if you are not considerate then be aware that someone like me, I live at the base of the mountain, will call the cops on you. But only if you are being a jerk ;-) otherwise I say enjoy the mountain at night also.

We took an Uber to the trailhead from our hotel, then hiked up the paved trail. Great views. We managed to walk about 6 miles, after we hiked back to the hotel.

This is a great place to bring the family, go for a run, walk the dogs or otherwise enjoy the views and weather. Well paved and a great walk with some historic sites, Well maintained, seems quite safe and you can get a great workout, but also easy for others less mobile to turn around or otherwise not be left high and dry, once they get tired.

Nice little "mountain" to walk up. Think I used like an hour or so. Saw a snake :D It was really cool.

This was a beautiful hike! Truly enjoyed! It was so beautiful when we got to the top and had a 360 degree view of the San Bernardino Valley! Wow!!!

Wow, going to Sunrise Service this year was a BLAST! I've always heard about it and wanted to go and finally it happened. We hiked up the mountain from the Mission Avenue side and the organizers had scouts to assist with lighting to make sure it was safe. Everything in sight was clean, no litter whatsoever, and the crowd at the top of the mountain what huge! Church service was wonderful, as was the walk down the hill. This is a MUST DO on the list.

Pretty easy walk around and up the hill. There is a moderate incline. It's pretty at night. Dog friendly.

This is a decent work out and covered with wild flowers right now. It has a good view of the surrounding mountains and is dog friendly.

Mt. Rubidoux's hiking trails are paved and is an easy to moderate hike for beginners.
You have 2 options for a paved path to make your way to the cross or flag that is on top. On the way down, we just took the dirt path that is a little more challenging because it can be slippery (esp. if you're wearing shoes that doesn't have much traction) but it was starting to get dark so we were in a hurry to get down and that was the quickest way.
There's ample parking at the foot of the mountain. We parked by the dog park because we couldn't find the main entrance using our GPS.

This is a great and scenic short hike just above the city of Riverside . An easy walk to top of the hill on a paved road with amazing sunset views. We always come here at sunset and enjoy the breeze and city view from the top. The best time to go is spring and winter for the best weather and views and just before dusk is the best time of day. There are many paths to get to the top depending on your pace. There are some significant spots such as the wooden bridge, the Memorial Peace Tower, an American flag, and the Cross. Some of these were placed there or built almost hundred years ago. It's truly rewarding once you get the top and see the the cross. The rocky steps are big , though. at the very top. For senior people, it's still a good hike to the top without going up to the cross and flag. For kids, it's a fun hike especially on top with some areas to sit down on the century-old bleacher sets used for the sunrise services. Highly recommended , especially as a sunset hike !

Many have stated how they admire the "journey" to the top and back. I find it a bit tough for myself but I go where I can.

The views are amazing! Dog and and family with young children friendly. Two trails to go up to the top. Very clean trails.

A great place to visit great for walking and checking out old Riverside great History Friendly people welcoming. people saying good morning, Good afternoon. also markers along the trail telling the history.

A popular place to hike in Riverside. Not difficult but challenging. However there are many people with dogs that are not on a leash. Constantly avoiding intrusive dogs. Not everyone loves dogs so keep them from annoying other people. The other issue is parking. There is a parking lot at Ryan Bonaminio Park with safe and close access to the trailhead. There is also parking at Carlson Park with easy access. Parking in other peoples neighborhood is not a very good option. I parked in a neighborhood off of Mission Inn Ave and came back to my car to find a note that basically pointed out to me that it was not a parking lot and that the people living in the area did not appreciate all the noise, litter and obstruction of the roadway. I was not insulted as I had lived in a similar situation before moving to So. Cal. I was constantly irritated that although I lived there I was unable to park on many occasions due to other people who did not live in the area taking up all the parking spots. I have always used Ryan Bonaminio Park since then and I am sure the residents would appreciate you making a small effort by parking there and not in their neighborhood. Other than that I use the park every week and mostly enjoy it. There is sometimes a lot of dog feces.

The 1 1/2 mile hike up the mountain is on a paved road at a medium incline. When you get to the top the panoramic view of Riverside is amazing. You will find people of all ages hiking with you many of them you will see on daily basis if you are hiking every day as well. I love this hike,

It was a lovely hike, my boys first time hiking anything. It's 3 miles to get up there where the cross is , so it's a must for small kids to take water.. but they will make it without my boys did it lol. It does smell horrible tho, it must be male's waste cause you will see alot going up. Picture perfect views. Had no incidents whatsoever

This is a great park well known for hiking for the young and the old. It is pet friendly and many people hike and walk with their dogs. Friends meet at the base and hike together as a group. Once at the top, the view of the area is spectacular. Easter sunrise services and fourth of July Fireworks are conducted here. There is a Peace Tower, devoted to peace and a bridge that is a replica of a bridge in Spain. There is a cross and tablet at the summit honoring Father Junipero Serra. At the base is another wonderful park ,Ryan Bonaminio Park

This is a great place to take a brisk walk or a leisurely stroll. Benches line the paved trail as you ascend Mt. Rubidoux. Also, there are lookout points strategically placed on all sides of the mountain with accurate maps showing you the mountains you are facing. At the top there are lookout points, benches and the cross at the top. For the more adventuresome there are unpaved and slightly rugged trails that you can use. It is solo, friends or family friendly.

This is Riverside’s exercise hill! Popular place in the morning and again after work.
This stroll was an amusement for the guests of the Mission Inn “back in the day”. There are many memorial plaques and various structures to muse on your way up the hill. Today you will see runners, walkers, and whole families strolling up to the Cross or flag pole at the top. The main path is well paved with various infrequent benches along the way.
Easter Sunday Sunrise service is a yearly local pilgrimage many make to the top of the hill as well.
I would recommend single ladies visit the hill during popular hours or enlist a friend to join you if using the hill in the less popular hours.
Enjoy the view!!

I love to come to exercise with friends or even alone there are two way to get to the top of the mountain the sort way and the long way, but if it's your first time I suggest to take the long way unless you are accustomed to work out. It's so beautiful once you get to the top. You can see the city in a very different way it's indescribable beautiful I strongly recommend. 😊

It was not easy to find, GPS took me somewhere completely different. So I typed in mount Rubidoux parking. Once you find the parking you can follow the crowd in. This is a good workout and the views are amazing! So glad I found it!! Would highly recommend, make sure you have plenty of daylight!

This is a beautiful place for everyone. It's scenery is breathtaking around bend and once I got to the top I couldn't stop saying "WOW".

When the weather is nice (which is most of the year in Riverside), it seems that the whole town comes out to climb Mt. Rubidoux. It's a nice walk up the hill on very nice paved walkways. The views at the top are great. Just expect a lot of company unless you are there at 5:00 in the morning.

Mount Rubidoux Park has paved walkways. It can be a little steep at times. Paths are enjoyed by walkers and their kids, kids in strollers and dogs on a leash. Beautiful views from the top.

The Mt Rubidoux hiking trail is a fantastic way to get your exercise and see the great views of Riverside. The paved trail beginning at the foot of the mountain goes all the way around the foothill to the top and down making your walk or run much easier. There are no guard rails so everyone should be very careful especially if you have young children to safe guard their adventure as you move up the mountain. It can get very hot so bring water and wear layers if the morning starts cool and warms up as the sun rises. There aren't any places in the area for food or drinks so be prepared with your own snacks. Trails are suggested for those who are looking to improve their physical condition and can get very challenging as you walk, run or bike up and then down the trails.. so be aware this 4 mile adventure is not for the faint of heart.

I have lived in Riverside over 20 years and have never hiked Mt. Rubidoux until today. My girlfriend convinced me I could do it and we did! It was beautiful and I can't wait to do it again!

Mount Rubidoux Park is a gem in a city that is awesome. Sitting high atop a hill the park has many trails paved and non paved for the adventurous as well as for the beginner. At the top of the mountain you get a view of the city and
and other nearby locations.

This is one of Riverside's best places to visit whether a tourist or long time resident like me. The views of the city on clear days (which are more times than not) are phenomenal. The paved 3 to 5 mile road makes it a great hike or bike ride or run. Plus there is also rock climbing spots for bouldering and top roping. I like going trail running on the dirt paths as well.

If you are visiting Riverside you will want to stop in and walk the walk up Mount Rubidoux, It is a Riverside favorite. If you are a lover of history then you will enjoy the park that much more. Just a note the park is not your usual flat ground picnic/play ball park. The park is the mountain (hill). The walk is easy and even on a smoggy day you have a great view. The park was dedicated in 1925 for your enjoyment today. Be sure and look up the history of the park before you go so that you can enjoy all of its meaning and beauty

This park is within minutes of downtown Riverside, yet feels like miles away. The view from the top 🔝 is spectacular! One can choose paved or dirt trails, so most all can enjoy. Lots of parking as well!

Love this hiking adventure. Beautiful views on a clear day. Beautiful spring morning exercise. Beautiful cross and American flag at top. Great photo ops. Nice family outing.

My friend and I visited this mountain in the evening to see the sunset. It was very mazing experience. I never seen some thing like that in my Iife.

I took a short hike this morning part way up Mt. Rubidoux.
It's easy to find, and good signage to the parking area. Plenty of places to park in the nearby parking lot for the ball fields.
It's a gradual ascent up the trails which is paved and looks like an access road. The views get very nice, as you start up the hill. Within a few minutes you are rewarded with outstanding views of the city. As the trail winds around the mountain your views keep changing.
Outstanding place to walk alone or with a group.

Used to walk up Mt Rubidoux ( back in the day you could drive up ) and then run down for awesome running exercise, but over time parking around the Mt is getting unsafe so be aware of where you park....Easter service there is very good to attend

Staying at the Hyatt and saw this gem in the distance. Took a run to the top, snapped some shots of the cross and American flag, and enjoyed a great morning on the mountain.

No matter the season this trail is widely used every day. It has two options for ascending and descending. You can take the steep but faster way to the top or you can take the longer (more steps) route that is easier on the knees and ankles. Beautiful views of the City of Riverside. It is even a good place for a date if you like walking or hiking.

paved paths make this site very accessible, it is very popular and well loved, as a community park should be. Bring water, and a hat, there is little shade.

If you want a great workout, this is where you go to tone up & good cardiovascular. It's a family place where everyone can enjoy themselves. A place where you can take your kids out & your pets!

I had read some prior reviews with complaints of dog poop. So, to start off, yes, there was dog poop on the trail but not more than most trails I've been on that allows dogs. It was not "everywhere" and not a distraction to the hike. Probably need to blame the adjacent dog park to the trail! Overall great trail and just the right difficulty. We used the non-improved trailhead which afforded a somewhat more challenging hike but certainly still easily completed by the novice hiker. Views tremendous and is what makes the hike a must do.

Excellent option for hiking in Corona. Spent like an hour going up and down. Nice views of the town and mountains nearby.

I walked Mt Rubidoux for the first time and I had a great experience. I recommend all families visit this place at least once.

It is an easy paved "hike" up the mountain. Not so easy if it is boiling hot outside. Take water, a hat and slow down. It is only a mile and a half up and a few different ways to get up but saw a few people not feeling too well on the way down, so when it is 102, think about it people, should you go if not in shape? Probably not.
Best to go in spring or winter and just have a blast, enjoy the view, the folks you are hiking along with, the dogs, did I mention the view? AND you can catch Easter Sunrise service here! It is still the site of the oldest outdoor non-denominational Easter Sunrise service in the United States! In the entire US! Now that is something to see...I am coming next year, talked to a couple and they went and said, "what! you haven't been? get here!!!!". Done!!!
So, enjoy the hike, the bridge, the nature, the rest at the top and easy parking at the bottom.

Easy hike on asphalt trails. Lots of people walking with dogs on leash. Doggie poop bags n dog drinking water fountain available. Kept very clean.

I love walking/ running up Mt. Rubidoux. A great place to take in the city's views and enjoy being outside. Parking at the Ryan Bonaminio park is easy (just don't leave valuables in your car) and convenient. The water dispenser at the base of the mountain is a nice feature, as well.

Great hike. 2 trails to walk great views. Beautiful at night. The parking is kinda sketchy, other then that great place.

Beautiful view, nice overlook from all directions. It was a nice way to spend our last morning in California

Start the day with the three-mile hike up the boulder-studded mountain with its spectacular views over the city and valleys. There are several choices of walk and hike paths. It's a popular place for locals to stay healthy.

We are not big hikers but we don't shy away from a hike. This mt is very close to the center of Riverside so we chose to walk there. What we didn't know at the time was that there were two potential hikes up the mountain. A low ascent/long walk and a steep ascent/short walk. We ended up on the steep ascent from 14th street. Upon reaching the top we got a great view. Upon returning we saw the low descent/long path and took that to 9th street. You are in the sun longer but its less wear-n-tear on the knees. Everyone we met along our walk spoke about how great the walk was so as long as you plan for the sun, please enjoy,

Taking a walk to the mountain in morning or afternoon in a clear day you can walk/run up to the top of the mountain and you can see our quiet town. There is a lot of history also about the cross and the stone towers. Just make sure you will not be in the of restroom as there none, but the Bonabino park is near and it isa great place to walk also.

So if you like to hike - but prefer to do so on a paved walk and enjoy being around other folks the view from the top is spectacular. The incline is steeper on one side than the other but, less length for most the longer and less steep route is fully accessible.

We had a great hike!! It had a lot people so I felt safe and the trail is paved. But it gets hot so bring plenty of water!! I totally recommend this hike

This is a great hike, you can go slow or many people jog up. You get a great view of the valley around Riverside. This is the location of the longest running Easter sunrise service int he nation. A couple thousand people usually head up on this day, but great the rest of the year as well!

Weather an Riverside native or visitor, this is a great way to spend some family or alone time. The views from the top are right out of a post card. Go early on hot days take a hat, sun screen, and water. The entire path is paved it will challenge some and be a walk in the park for others. Water stations are located at the top and bottom. Don't have your kids ride their bikes it's too steep, wagons for little ones might be OK, but remember the down hill slope. Over the walk is not as hard as you think, you will see folks of all ages and capabilities on the path, just tell yourself "You can do it".

Great afternoon walk on paved trail. We walked up the right side and down the left. Nice incline but not too much. Signs are great for where to park but it took us a while to figure out where to go from there. From the parking lot it was across the street and up the hill.

I have lived in Riverside my entire life and Mt. Rubidoux is like home. I have hiked, walked rode, all over this mountain. My daughter even had her 5th birthday party at the top! There is something about turning the corner and having the cross come into view. The view is also spectacular.

Mt. Rubidoux is always a challenge. Enjoy the hike. It's not too much but enough to give me the challenge I need. Lots of people there so always feel safe.

We have enjoyed this hike several times. The views of downtown Riverside or distant mountains are splendid.

Wear comfortable shoes, wear a hat and take some water along on this outing. There are no shady areas to hide from the sun. Once on top, there are beautiful panoramic views and you will want to have some time to sit and take it all in. Use the restroom facility at the park below, before starting the trek, as there are only port-a-potties along the trail.

The hike is great not too hard. Many families do this hike together. I usually take the rout to do 5 miles and the view once you get to the top is worth every step specially if you go right around sunset.

This is a great place to hike or bike to! Excellent for kids and adults. the views are spectacular!!! It is a moderate hike though, so not for the weak of heart.

Everybody walks the mountain. Young, old, dogs, kids. The path is paved the whole way up and back. Two different trails depending on your exercise level. Great hike and fun to do with friends or co-op workers. Great team building location.

Love this short 3 miles of paved trail. Fun views and full of photo ops. It has becoming our weekly jaunts. When in Riverside, this is a must-do.

The COVID-19 pandemic is making people antsy and getting out and about. We came here on Sunday Father's Day and it wasn't that busy, which was great and surprising at the same time. This is the perfect hike for people who don't want to go overboard on a major workout. It's a simple 2 to 3 mile roundtrip hike up the hill and you'll be rewarded with great views and selfie pictures. This place gets super crowded on Easter Sunday with all the sunrise worshipers.

Love to hiking there. Can easily reach to 10 thousand steps on my fitbit. Up to 1 hour of hiking- roundtrip.

I’ve climbed Mount Rubidoux at least a dozen times and I’ve only had one bad experience. Parking isn’t ideal and thieves know you will take a few hours to return so I strongly advise get a ride and get picked up. I once had my key lock popped but fortunately they didn’t steal the car and I had nothing of value inside my car. Bring a few bottles of water and a snack as there is no food for purchase. I have seen a snake once but other than that, the place is completely safe. You can only be there during light and you could get a ticket if there after dark. The views are gorgeous and the climb to the cross at the top is very relaxing until you get right near the top and the steps are pretty steep. The climb is very doable and I’m a big guy. My wife got a little winded but she’s not used to any exercise lol!

The location is absolutely beautiful. But, the trail is filthy and disgusting. It is covered in dog feces both on the paved path and unpaved areas. Hikers can’t walk a few steps on the trail without having to maneuver around dog poop. Even the path/street (Tequesquite Ave) that leads to the entrance of the trail is covered in mounds of dog feces. The amount of dog waste on this trial both dry and fresh makes it one of the worst location for a hike. Irresponsible dog owners ruined this trail.

For beginners or experts, this mountain has an easy side and a steep side. Ask any person on the path which way and they can help you. Try up the easy side first and down the steep side. Then switch the next time if it was too easy. The view is the best in Riverside! From half way up you can see the entire city! Beautiful! Church services offered at the top on holidays. Nice place and a must do if you are into exercise.

I was pleasantly surprised. I never imagined how beautiful this hike would be. A total "must do" if you're in Riverside.

Love to walk to the top!! On a clear day the views are spectacular!! 3 mile round trip!!
To the left of the mountain is a steeper walk, to the right it is an easier walk!!

I come here to hike often and I enjoy it. There are people hiking here every day of the week and they come at all kinds of hours in the morning. Moms alone with babies on a Tuesday? Try it, you will find others. This is not a lonely walk. Also, there’s a path where a stroller will go on perfectly. The first time my family visited Rubidoux we did not find the paved trail. It seems crazy to me now that we didn’t see it!
There are two general choices a shorter more demanding steep climb and a longer less steep climb to the top. The views from
The trail are worth the climb.
Why 4 stars instead of 5? Because my children have nicknamed Mt Rubidoux, Mt Poopidoux because of the inevitable dog poop we need to avoid when coming here. When the weather is extremely hot, the poop is still there and it seems to smell more.

Wasn't sure about this as was by myself and without a car so had to walk from central Riverside. However the reviews were encouraging so went for it. The walk from downtown is a bit worrying as there are quite a few homeless folks around but was certainly worth the effort. Simply walked all the way down 9th street. This leads you right to the start of the walk. Winds its way up the mount with a very gradual climb so not too taxing at all. Good tarmac surface so excellent walk. View from the top was well worth the effort.

I retired from the fire department a few years ago and have been working out 3 days a week at the gym. I've heard about about the trail/hike up Mount Rubidoux for several years, I finally decided to give it a try. The hill itself was just a hill but the view from the top was incredible. It made my climb worth the effort. It's not a difficult climb, but its a good way to get some exercise and enjoy an awesome view of the Inland Empire. The right side is longer but easier (not as steep). Mt Rubidoux can get a bit crowded as many people have begun to use it as the place to workout. I will continue to add Mt Rubidoux to my exercise

Mount Rubidoux has been a wonderful Riverside Landmark. It provides a great view of the city along with many historic markers explaining the cities past. Well known for its Easter sunrise service it is great small hill for exercising.

Great walking for the whole familyfamily. Beautiful views, pet friendly, stunning sunsets, wear your walking shoes!

It's a very easy trail, kids and dogs friendly. Lots of great lookout points on the way up and the view from the top is breath-taking. There are many different routes you can take and people are very friendly.

Went on MLK day, so it was crowded. But still a nice hike. It was beautiful. Great pictures. Parking was free and abundant.

So much dog poop it’s really laughable. All the way up and all the way down you will see it, and many looked fresh, Some were human sized.
Because of the amount of dog poo there is now an unreal amount of flies. Really sad that the people literally let the trail go to crap.

This is an easy hike. Came here on a Friday and it was almost empty. There is a paved road but you can also get to the top by making a short cut. You can see the rest of Riverside from here . Bring your lunch and sit in one of the boulder rocks and bask in the sun.

We walk this at least three times a week. We have walked all hours of the day, and every time we seem to see things different. We walk up the right side so we get the most out of our walk. The left side is steep and gives you a fast good workout. This is a great family hike or those who want to walk to get fix. The only thing is I wish people would pick up after their dogs. Also you need to bring water so you stay hydrated.

Were visiting Riverside for Christmas and this was an area we planned to visit. Stayed at The Marriott and they suggested they would shuttle us to the area. We then walked up to the top stopping along the way to get many great pictures. Beautiful area to tour. We enjoyed it so much that we decided we would walk all the way back to the hotel. This gave us a chance to walk through a lot of the older section of Riverside. Couldn't have asked for a better tour.

Paved trails. Everything seems to be well maintained. The views are great. A couple of restrooms would be a big improvement.

Be prepared with water and for those first time hikers, light towel and sitting at the cross is advise you not only can be still but pray, taking photos is a must have so many angles of pictures to take.

Great easy hike up an asphalt path. One side is steeper rhan the other! There are more challenging dirt paths also! Be rewarded with great views and the Junipero Serra cross at the top!!! Great for everyone!

Mt. Rubidoux has been an important symbol to all who live in Riverside since 1903 and people come from all over the world to hike to its summit. Today, you'll find people of all ages hiking the nicely paved trail with their dogs, with children in strollers, with friends and even alone. You can run, you can stroll or you can power walk. However you decide to trek to the summit, you will be rewarded once you get up there. Hike up to the cross, which was recently saved by proud Riversiders, and touch it...because you haven't hiked Mt. Rubidoux until you've touched the cross! And, because of the Easter Sunrise Service, which has been an important annual Riverside event since about 1906, there are plenty of places to sit and relax.

This climb will be easy for people used to walking elevations because it is paved all the way up. There are two paved routes around Mr. Rubidoux which converge at the bottom. The view at the top is beautiful. You can see downtown Riverside on one side and the Santa Ana river valley on the other. On the top there is a cross which was placed there over 100 years ago. Many people jog up the mountain. I have seen many families including families with strollers. There is an inter-faith Easter service on the top of the mountain on Easter Sunday.

There are 2 entrances and one has parking. You can't park on the streets of the other one unless you have a handicap plaque. Could not make it to the top, but got far enough to get a glimpse of the great view.

Do not let the parking challenge turn you off to this historic and beautiful park!! We parked in the "dog park" parking lot, just around the corner that had lots of space. Not only is there a paved trail with lots of familes, joggers and those on a leisurely stroll, there are many dirt trails for bikes and "off the beaten path" hiking trails as well. Along with the cross at the very top, there are several other historical buildings & markers that make this park really unique and a must visit in Riverside.

This p;lace is always filled with people walking or jogging. Friendly atmosphere for kids to enjoy also. Dogs welcome. The dog park is located on the Roubidoux side of the mountain.

It is a couple of miles uphill, but you can walk at your own pace with friends, family or your dog. I suggest you go before 10am on hot days and take water for yourself and dogs. Most of the walk is paved and there are lots of plants and nature to see on the way up. On the summit is a lovely white cross where the oldest Sunrise service still takes place every Easter Sunday. It is a landmark. The view of Riverside is lovely from the top. It is a good workout, too. There is parking at the Ryan Bonaminio Park nearby.

Not a hard walk at all. It’s basically an urban trail at a minor incline. Love the graffiti everywhere. Must’ve been really cool back in the day before it was ruined by people.

Love walking this trail! I do it several times a week. There are a few ways to go up/ One can also hike up the side in several places. The view of the city is beautiful. Get to the very top and take a picture by the cross.

This is one of the most famous desolate locations one can imagine. The road was once navigable by car, but weathering and erosion have long ended that.

Paved walk way. Fun things to look at. Beautiful view. Great hike for the whole family. Even my 8 year old had fun.

One of my favorite hikes, well maintained with incredible views! It can be a tad hot during the summer months as the trail is exposed with no shade, so I enjoy both sunrise and sunset hikes!

This popular urban trail is paved, and mostly easy. It feels like a work out, but not so much the day is over! Beautiful historic markers along the way encourage a few stops. The view from the top is wonderful. Mt. Rubidioux is a Riverside icon. Even a few people rappelling down.

Good for short family walk abt one hour up and down nice view of riverside city Be aware of dog poop

exercise at it's best. Where else can you walk with a constant incline, then get the payoff when you get to the top of a 360 degree view of Riverside and Jurupa Valley. Great location to run into everybody you know. Also, historic Cross at the top, and a great Bell Tower.

I walk this mountain twice a week and love the walk. There is always people walking so you feel very safe. The road is paved so your walk is easier. You can enjoy the beautiful views as you walk. Take your camera for some great pictures. Sunrise and sunsets are so beautiful from the top!

It was a nice view. Weather was a little chilly during that time of the year. Excellent view of the area and it was a good place to get out.

Great Hike as far as elevation and distance goes for an all paved trail. The view is great once you get to the top and there are some great stone work pieces as well. Perfect for families, kids, pets and strollers. Careful of rattlesnakes as the weather heats up!

I took my sons and his friends (13 year olds) - they ran, I walked. Then I took my whole family before we ate Thanksgiving dinner - many grumblings and complaints, but once we got to the top - ooohs and aaahs! BEAUTIFUL!

This trail is very well worth it with amazing views of Downtown, Riverside and the San Bernardino mountains. The hike to the top can take 30minutes to one hour depending on one's speed. It has a very nicely paved trail and one can even ride their bike to the top. I find it very serene and simple to find. There is plenty of parking at the park and this place is full of hikers, so you can feel comfortable, unlike some isolated Southern California trails. I always feel comfortable here and have met many friendly people, neighbors and even tourists. If you are looking to hike 10 miles, then this is not then place, but is definitely the place for mom with kids as they have a paved path for strollers. Nature up at the top is just beautiful. Take a shot,,, it's worth it.

The mountain has two paths. One two mile plus walk easy walk and a quick one mile plus walk a little steeper . Great for the whole family..

Mt.Rubidoux is a nice walk. Not to strenuous, with many ways up or down. There are several places to sit and rest along the way. Great views (on clear days) of the inland empire. In winter you can see the snow-capped mountains.

Due to injury we were unable to make the hike to the top and were hoping to drive. It’s a pedestrian-only Park so we were unable to see the view.

My daughter and I always enjoy ourselves on this trail. It's always clean and most of the fellow walkers are friendly.

Beautiful paved hiking trails up the mountain with magnificent views, benches to rest at, and lovely nature, birds and flowers to appreciate. Many people utilize this space for jogging and hiking for fitness. What a magnificent use of public space for health and fitness. Thank you.

I'm lucky to live in the foothill of beautiful and historic Mt. Rubidoux! Hiking is great with lots of lovely views...downtown Riverside, historic houses, palm trees, mountains, sunsets, night lights, and many more.

One of my favorite local hiking spots!!!! I love Mt. Rubidoux and have been coming since I was a kid, it’s a relaxing hike with a difficult and easy trail. I’ve personally never had issues with anyone’s dogs or excessive poop left behind. Last time I was there it was partially closed for maintenance of the trails. Hopefully when I go back it’s fully open.

Great place for a pleasant walk/hike. Not very difficult and it is paved. They have some dirt trails that reach a paved road, but be careful of snakes as I have seen some there. Never seen a venomous one, but have heard of people seeing rattlers there. Just careful where you park. I have heard of many break ins, but never experienced one myself. Very nice view of Riverside and surrounding areas from up top on a clear day. There is no shade along the way so on hot days it may be just that, HOT. Enjoy your hike and get out and walk.

Don't tell anyone. Let this be our little secret. Hiking up to the top of Mt Rubidoux at night is a terrific experience. We did it when there was a Super Moon and it was the best place to see it. As you walk around the mountain, you can see the surrounding city scape in every direction.
Obviously one benefit of the night walk is that it is cooler. There are plenty of other people walking in the evening, so you don't feel alone.

There are several ways to enjoy Mt.Rubidoux. You can park at Ryan Bonaminio Park or on Pine. These two places lead to the main entrances. There are two paved paths - one short and steep and the other long with less of an incline. There are also several unpaved, steep and rocky trails that lead to the top of the mountain.
It's very crowded on the weekends unless you get out early (sunrise). The late evening can get pretty crowded too.
Be warned that there are no restrooms on the mountain. The closest public restrooms are at the park. There are also no water fountains, so take your own water. Beware snakes, They aren't common but occasionally they do make an appearance.
I love Mt. Rubidoux. It's a great place to walk and get a moderate workout.

This is the perfect place to go on a daily hike, jog,or walk.once you get to the top of the mountain its a beautiful view looking over riverside and san Bernardino.there is also great interesting history. Down the hill there is a park, and also a trail that goes along the santa ana river. And on the opposite side of the mountain there is a dog park. I allways enjoy my hikes. Especially on a clear beautiful day. This is a definite must do for anyone.

Use to love the hike up there..
can't any more with my knees
you want the best view of Riverside.. Colton and other parts of Inland Empire.. go for a hike
go early mornings..it is around 4 miles each way

This is a nice trail very doable and you will enjoy a good view of Riverside
Not the best part of Riverside. Wrxh your car. Seen some cars broken in to.
I believe this place is overrated.
Historic
Fun experience with the family, walking, exercise, interaction with the locals. Great views with historic references along the walk.
