I was born here and lived here at various times in my life. Have been coming to MB for a long time. For the first time I decided to get a medium sized umbrella that wouldn’t break in the wind. When I set it up I was told I couldn’t place it in front of the line of empty rental chairs/umbrellas that the lifeguards set up early that morning. Asked the lifeguard why and she looked at me like a deer looks at an oncoming tractor-trailer and said through a thick Swedish accent that I was out of luck.
I understand not allowing canopies, or even enforcing two umbrella lines, but only one umbrella line that is barely 20’ from the dunes that sits half empty is just sorry. I would suggest either allowing two umbrella lines or not renting chairs/umbrellas that are poorly spaced and take up most of the available room off the boardwalk. Been to a lot of other beaches that were just as nice without the regulation.
I see the city responds to these. Don’t bother.

Nice weather and nice beach (although there are many other nicer beaches around all of the US). Lots of golf courses - perfect for a group golf trip. But the city is pretty much a dump - very honky tonk. Good for families with small kids who want a low cost beach trip. But I won’t return other than perhaps a group golf trip.

Myrtle Beach is what you make it. There is much more to see and do than the beach itself. Do yourself a favor and get off of the beach a little and search around. Its a short drive down to Georgetown and Pawleys Island and Murrels Inlet. There’s Brookgreen Gardens and Hunntington Beach State Park and the Marshwalk in Murrels Inlet. There’s Myrtle Beach State Park and the Myrtle Beach Arts Museum. The possibilities are endless if you will just look or ask around.

We stayed in North Myrtle Beach across the street from the beautiful white sandy beach. Next to the beach was a fishing pier. Loved the quiet (mostly) area. Many great restaurants, especially Captain Jack's Seafood Buffet. We all really enjoyed Mid-evil Times. Great show and the food was very good. We stayed at a condo that slept 16 people so most of the family could go.

it has been 10+ years since our last Myrtle Beach vacation, and we were excited to return because it was always one of our favorite family vacation spots.
The Beach is great, and clean as always. The locals are friendly.
Every place has its issues, so I have found if you look for the negative, you will find it, but if you focus more on the positive you will find it and be better off for it.

It was pretty quiet during our visit due to colder weather. We took a nice stroll and enjoyed the sand and views. Nice beach to visit.

Just visited again and have not been here I. A decade. Might have to make it more frequent. Brought my "Stella" for 1st beach visit and she loved it. It was off season so was a little quieter than I remember (thankfully). The beach is expansive and lined with a boardwalk filled with everything a tourist would need. Restaurants and hotels as far as the eye can see.

Expected so much more on this trip. Water was brown and not blue or clean. Huge numerous jelly fish along entire beach. Very old establishments. All needing renovation. Crowd was young and loud.

Beautiful wide beach and boardwalk...sewer pipes every 100 feet on the beach discharging into the ocean. Streets are dirty, people drinking, smoking and who knows what else in public. Racing cars, thumping stereos, lewd behavior (screaming and swearing, fighting) - we felt generally unsafe streetside.
Walking the beach and boardwalk was okay. Jehovah's Witness kiosks set up all over the boardwalk. Lots of run down motels - apparently at least one operating without a license which had it's roof blown off during a rainstorm.
We found it odd that very few people were out and about walking in the mornings. Reminded us of trashy, run down Atlantic City.
Too bad they don't manage this place better. The natural resources and beauty (beach) could be spectacular.

The trip started off great until I went to the beach. The lifeguards place chairs and umbrellas on the beach for rent. You can not place your umbrella in front of theirs or they will make you move. After sitting in my spot for 2 hours, I had to move everything because some for rent vendor set up behind me. You are forced to sit in the sun or behind them like a second class citizen who just paid over a $1000 for accommodations. They will tell you that you can sit at the end of the umbrella line but it’s a quarter mile away. I gave MB a chance after many years and won’t return.

We've been coming here for the last several years (except during Covid); and usually staying 3-4 weeks.
We enjoy coming off-season, it's a much more relaxed atmosphere. The crowds are minimal, being seated at restaurants is usually fairly quick (with less likelihood of urchins using the facility as a playground), lodging is much more reasonably-priced; and stores that remain open are often represented by unharried staff willing to converse and answer questions.
And, there's the beach itself. It may not be appropriate for sunbathing; but with a bit of cover/layering, it's still wonderful to walk along....watching/hearing the waves, enjoying sunrises/sunsets, finding an occasional interesting shell or 2, and just knowing that no matter how chilly it gets, its still nicer outside than in mid-north Indiana.

Nice stay at the Atlantica condo with a beachfront view- sleeps up to six. Several pools and close to the Boardwalk. Very clean condo - with all the amenities available.

The low reviews are accurate, Myrtle Beach is just a very rough spot. Just one block off Ocean Avenue and you are taking risk, it's a dump. Forget about the boardwalk area on Friday and Saturday nights, its a time bomb waiting to explode, it's straight up dangerous and the line of traffic with loud vehicles is obnoxious. It's definitely not a family location. I travelled from Pa and Myrtle Beach confirmed for me I have no need to travel past the much cleaner and welcoming Ocean City Maryland

love the beach especially during sunset or sunrise. lots of fireworks at night. It is a great place!

Overpriced everywhere and have been told that in-season traffic and prices are obscene. We stayed 1st week of November so it was a ghost town - half of the attractions were closed. BEAUTIFUL beaches but must be a madhouse in the summer. Some family friends regularly visit and drop $1,000 but for that much you would more enjoy a cruise! Also the place was overrun with homeless and beggars who are quite pesky and I was told are responsible for many petty crimes and stronghand panhandling so be prepared!

Had so much fun on the beach building sandcastles, looking for shells and playing in the waves. Beach is clean and not overly crowded.

Took a girls trip to Myrtle Beach and we went to the beach everyday. We booked an Airbnb right across the street from Ocean Blvd, the walk was quick and convenient. The beach was beautiful and clean. Perfect view of the sunrise and sunset.

very clean beach. No seaweed or trash. Water was cold in May but still got in. Can walk quite a distance on beach.

beach area was very nice; Myrtle Beach area where we stay 9th south ave very run down very few restaurants

The beach we went to was clean, the water perfect for an August day, and the family photos turned out great.

This was our first visit to Myrtle Beach. It is a nice beach, very flat in the area where we stayed. This makes for easy walking. The beach was pretty clean. The water is not a very pretty color though. All in all, we enjoyed it.

The life guards in Myrtle Beach has improved greatly! We have vacationed in Myrtle Beach every year since 2002, but skipped 2019 and 2020, because the life guards in 2018 blew their whistles every time we tried to play in the waves, to the point where we could only go knee deep in the water, and their umbrella and chair rules made no since. This year was so much better, Johns Beach Service (Alex & Abby) made our trip a pleasure, renting our chairs & umbrella was easy and playing in the waves, was without the constant whistle blowing.

We stayed more north of Myrtle during October. It wasn’t very touristy or busy. It was the perfect time to go if you don’t like beach crowds. We looked for shark teeth and found some cool shells.

While it might seem obvious, the main attraction in Myrtle Beach is the beautiful stretch of white-sand beach along the city's oceanfront, which extends for a total of 60 miles. (not every beach offers this wide and long area)…
Some spots along the Carolina shore offer opportunities for water sports like Jet Skiing or deep-sea fishing, while other areas are better for relaxing or playing with your children. You'll also find a few spots perfect for casting a line for a fresh catch.
And ofcourse 3 Piers along the beach adds fun to its never-ending list of TO Dos. The city’s public beach is quite busy due to plentiful tourists but it’s family-oriented, clean, and safe. This is the place to go with your entire family! The beach is public so you don’t have to pay for entrance. The area is handicapped accessible.

Discovered Myrtle beach on a business golf trip (I am not an avid golfer) and never played golf there again when I found out it had one of the finest beaches on the east cost.

Noticed for sure keep the beach raked very good daily Very nice and clean, was nice to walk along the edge and the boardwalk was really nice and pretty!

The only thing I really cared for here are the beaches. Trump signage everywhere and weed stench abounds! Restaurants are ok, especially Groupers! Beat seafood!

Sun, ocean, sand can't really beat that can you. PLenty of stuff to do and parking etc. Odd thing they do with the paid chairs and umbrellas at the water line but whatever. You are still at the beach. They have a tent rule as well so check it out.

Not all pools are open so carefully choose your hotel if you are looking for outdoor pool access! Part of ours is open at sea crest. There was several times a day there was a pothead smoking on their balcony near us it was unpleasant and nasty, we had to leave because they were illegally smoking, I am thankful South Carolina is illegal on smoking freely marajuana,, the rest of us don’t want to smell it all the time!. From what I understand several phone calls already made on this unruly guest and they are vigilant watching for any one disobeying the rules of the hotel.

Myrtle Beach has some of the finest beaches along the coast of the Carolinas and Georgia. There are literally hundreds of excellent restaurants and all kinds of recreational activities for every age. A wonderful place for a great family vacation!

A special place to see with 60 miles of beach. Well maintained and mostly free. Staying at a hotel allows you access as well.

The absolute absence of other tourists this time of year makes The Myrtle the place to go. One has the entire town and beach for oneself.

The beaches are beautiful but some of the patrons and some locals are shady. Be safe and stay in groups. There are lots of fun attractions and tons of restaurants.

I came to Myrtle Beach because I came as a kid. This really isn't a place to come with a family anymore. It's really run down. There are a lot of vagrant people in the streets. Strangely, everything is so expensive. Hotels are aged and so are many of the attractions. Do yourself a favor and read the local news before you take a trip. Instead try Hilton Head, Southport, or Oak Island. I wish I would have known...

Really nice beach with lots of shops and restaurants nearbye. No life guards abd a strong under toe so watch your kiids

Loved walking the beach and watching the sunset there as well. No seaweed to deal with just great ocean water.

Although it is a public beach lifeguards are private company employees. Suddenly they use their acquired power and say nobody can enter the water and during the entire day people are not allowed to bath in the ocean because of the currents.
The thing is currents were not heavier or different than on any other beach. Actually they were lighter than in most other beaches with waves around the world. I have never seen this absurd behavior anywhere. Is this common in United States?

One of the best vacation spots in USA. Beautiful beaches and not as far to drive from Ohio. Florida is just too far. 8 hour drive to Myrtle Beach, 17 hour drive toCocoa Beach Florida, 20 hours to Fort Lauderdale. Carolina beaches are prettier than Florida. And cheaper too

Lots of things to do here and of course there's the beach. Enjoyed our stay. Beach boardwalk and strip, multiple amusement parks and centers, Broadway, Ripleys, multiple mini golfs, shopping, etc.
I would avoid any beach or other parking lots by Shoreline. We paid and got a boot by a company called Taggr. Would avoid any lots with signs for those 2 companies. There is 0 customer service and the people don't know the policies or how to be helpful at all, just how to get you to pay the money.

I love coming here this time of year. Usually its still warm enough to take a walk on the beach (check), still plenty of good restaurants to visit (check) always plenty of shopping to be done (check) and a plethora of golf courses to keep the hubby happy (check, check and check). This year was kind of sad however. So many of our favorite places are no more due to the Covid virus. The mall, where my favorite Belk in the world is located, is a shadow of its former self - most all the stores are closed. But the virus can't take the beach away and MB is one of the best!!

The beach was clean and well-maintained. I feel like our end of the beach wasn't as crowded as other areas we saw. The lifeguard on our portion of the beach was attentive.

It's a decent beach. The water isn't blue like Destin, but you get beach. At times it didn't feel all that clean.

Always have a great time on the grand strand. So much to do and so many rides and shopping also all the food places are just great.

So many better beaches to choose from! Myrtle Beach is crowded and dirty. The strip is full of hotel and condo high rises, tourist shops, and restaurants. Parking and traffic is a nightmare.

Beautiful place beautiful beach perfect accommodations everything was very perfect
Nod we have fun we enjoy everything from the first to the last day. Super recomendo.

Myrtle Beach restaurants and attractions have gotten outrageously expensive. At this point it's cheaper to vacation in the Caribbean at an all-inclusive resort. Likely what we will do next time. It's simply not worth it.

Plenty of fun stuff to do! We hit the beach, the piers, Pelicans baseball game, Broadway at the Beach and BrookGreen Gardens. Great fun and don’t forget the Flea Market!

Myrtle Beach is always a fun place to visit with a great beach and lots to do. Many of the local restaurants have excellent food without having to visit the big chains.

Not very crowded and everything is open along the beach. Easy to relax and get food or drink when needed.

This beach was very nice and you could walk for miles along the water front with plenty of room to roam. Very clean beach would recommend this beach to anyone.

Lived in myrtle beach in the mid 90s and loved it... Came back to visit spring of 2021 and the place has turned into a crime ridden, child trafficking, addict centralized s***hole. Don't think I'll ever go back.. the government and law enforcement have let this place go under.. what a waste

Even though a scraper came through each morning, there were too many shells on the beach and hurt my feet to walk on them.

We were staying at the south of end of Myrtle Beach and took a quick walk down the beach we did see small group of other walkers also enjoying a walk everybody was playing nice and social distancing which was nice to see .

Careful swimming, something with a fin swam pretty close. Was only 10 ft from the shore. Noticed people with cameras when I turned and saw the fin. Not sure what it was but it gave the heart a few extra beats.

The beach is awesome, my issue was that I brought my 2 small dogs and the lifeguard told me that I could not have them on the beach from 10am to 5PM during peak season. I brought my babies to enjoy the water.

Luckily it wasn't too crowded with being after Labor Day. Still lots of people but parking wasn't too bad. Beautiful beach. Plenty to do and places to eat, that's for sure.

Went for my post high school graduation trip for Carowinds and this Lovely beach this past summer, and this is definitely the best beach i've ever been to in my life, i mean the Ferris wheel, the beach views it's just so amazing, would love to come back one day.

We would rate Myrtle Beach a 4.5 out of 5. We stayed in North Myrtle Beach at a hotel that was only a few months old. The view from our hotel was beautiful! As you go toward the boardwalk away from North Myrtle Beach, it does look run down and less safe.
Overall, it was a very nice place for a family vacation with plenty to do and we would come back again.

This is a nice family beach within a close drive. not overly crowded and clean. Great for weekend get away.

We stayed in a timeshare rental at N. Ocean Blvd. and the beach was beautiful. Unfortunately, there are always those people who are so piggish and leave their food containers, drink bottles, etc. on the beach and the walkways from the condo instead of using the various trash containers that are everywhere. We also had to deal with those rude vacationers who think they are the only people there and decide to set off fireworks well after midnight. We also had a group who checked into the unit below us and blasted their music late while drinking, talking loud and singing on their balcony after midnight.

Priceless...It's hard to describe something so magnificent from God. The visitors were respectful and the beach was well monitored.

Great for a weekend getaway. Lots to do on the the main street. Water was warm. Lots of hotels and restaurants nearby.
Not overly busy. But still a good vibe.

One of my favorite places to visit. I visit once every other year. I was down for bike week, it was amazing time. Kids had fun and there was a lot to do. Would recommend to anyone and plan another visot during bike week.

RUN as fast as you can away from this place!. the hotels are run down most need to be torn down! trash all over the beach! crowded, unfriendly, over abundance of homeless. rude and advertisement are ALL LIES!!! do not even consider this place for a family vacation I can not stress enough how dirty the WHOLE AREA IS!! it’s Very UNSAFE!!!

It was fun to get away and be at the ocean. The beach always makes everything better..... However it seems like everywhere we went we kept getting smells of weed. We went to the beach and the next spot over they people were smoking weed, we would sit out on the condo balcony at night and the people in the condo below us were smoking weed. The weekends there are crazy busy and loud but as soon as Monday hit, it was like a different town. It was quiet and enjoyable.

The worst , most tacky and trashy “vacation destination” I’ve ever experienced. The hotels are trashy. It’s like the government handed out free vacation vouchers to everyone who just got of jail.

visit Myrtle 1-2 times/year. Have stayed somewhere different each year to check out different areas.

My favorite part of Myrtle Beach. Grew up coming here every summer w/ my family & grandma "Mammy". This place holds lots of sweet memories for me! Love MB!

Painters ice cream is the best I have EVER had, I’ve had ice cream from a lot of places and nothing beats their HOMEMADE ice cream 🍦🍨

Went for annual family vacation with near adult and adult children. Overall nice experience, but not something that I would do annually. The Boardwalk itself is small. Lots of miniature golf areas, which was fun. Several fun houses and amusement park areas. About 30 minutes away is a nice shopping mall/amusement park called Broadway at the Beach (spoiler, it's around a lake). Every evening cars drive up and down the main street, playing loud music and showing off their hydraulics, similar to Ocean Drive in Miami. Airport was less than 30 minutes from our hotel near the Boardwalk and getting around by Uber was extremely easy. Food directly on the Boardwalk was so-so, typical tourist junk food but the Uber drivers were great about making recommendations. Overall, nice place, but not on my must revisit list.

The last time I visited here was about 10 years ago. It is much cleaner and nicer now. It's impressive how it's improved. Tip of the cap to the government around here

If you read the plethora of reviews of Myrtle Beach you’ll find a pretty wide divergence of opinion. Yes, there is part of the Boardwalk area between the major piers that has an air of seediness, and, yes, the area has way too many tourist trap beachwear/t-shirt stores; however, the beach itself is inviting and well maintained. Stay north of Pier 14 and you’ll be much happier.

Miles of clean and relatively unpacked beach for a days relaxation, or a morning/evening walk and a paddle

Beach was overcrowded. We barely found a spot to set up. Water was very cold. I will not go to this beach again. Parking was a rip-off. Guy want to charge a $100.00 for the day just to park. This whole place is a big rip-off. The best beach to visit is Myrtle Beach.

Been going to Myrtle Beach since I was 8 years old now I'm 58 still enjoy it every time watching it grow always love bike week , and just going to enjoy the food and beach ⛱️

The hotel, Oceans One was rather "tired". We had to go to the Front Desk for replacements (many of which were not available, e.g. there was very little cutlery and we bought a salad bowl which we donated.)

It's a decent beach town. The beaches are .
Beware of all the extra fees you will incur by visiting this beach town! Whoever thought it would be good for this town to add a:
Food tax
Liquor tax
Bottle tax
Non-Cash adjustment
Just taxed me out of ever wanting to visit this place again! There are extra fees incurred on every purchase from hotels, restaurants, Uber, and Souvenir shops! Visitors can expect to pay 10 to 20 percent more on each purchase! The poor employees of the establishments probably have to explain the bill to each patron that is not a local. Apparently, those taxes are not for the locals just for visitors. I recommend to go somewhere else in SC with a nice beach and no crazy fees!

Honestly myrtle beach sucks. Especially if you live here. The paraphernalia will either kill you or it just sucks and the food is just 🤢 everything closes at like 9 plus people don't know how to drive and dude I don't know this vibe just kills everything. Let's not talk about the laws. Bit it's good for retirement 👍

Not really impressed with South Carolina or its beaches. Sorry. Myrtle Beach isn't anywhere I'll come back to, and Florida and Alabama beaches are way prettier. Myrtle Beach seemed dirty to me. There was trash everywhere. People treat the beach like it's their ashtray. Disgusting. Come on people. smh
Meh.

This is the third beach trip for a Midwest family. The Gulf Shores were fantastic! The Jersey Shore was inexpensive and fun. The Myrtle Beach sucked my energy before even my feet could hit the ground. The parking is crazy. You can go further down and be isolated and pay $15. But, you will need to pack your own lunch most likely. Or you can pay $40-$45 to find a slot in the middle of everything. And everything is only a few feet away from the beach--which also means, you look in one direction and you see the ocean, in the other direction, you see an unnatural and large tourist trap.
The beach itself is nothing too remarkable. There's a lack of restrooms, so I bet that children urinate in the water a lot. As with other recent Tripadvisor reviews, I don't see much charm. Yes, the umbrellas are another way to make you pay an absurd cost.
So, to keep cool, people hide out underneath the pier. If you are a younger extrovert, this might be the place for you to meet new people and to keep cool.
For anyone else, there's a lot of coast line out there and you may want to choose someplace else--that doesn't have the aura of being MYRTLE BEACH.

My last trip to Myrtle Beach was in 2003. It wasn't spantacular then, but it seems to have really went downhill. I didn't go by Broadway at the Beach, but the actual boardwalk and the area near the ocean felt borderline unsafe. I feel like the city is trying to add more activities to do, but not addressing the root issue. Everything just feels rundown and dirty. I will not be returning any time soon...

Winter “getaway” for January and February was great.
Weather was mostly sunny and off season made it the perfect place to hang out and avoid the cold and snow. Great walks on the beach and collecting shells almost every day.

This beach has pockets that suits family, singles and others. My thing is that the identity of this beach is yet to be confirmed. So, whilst it is going through this, everyone can enjoy without encroaching on anyone's delight.

The beach provided a great getaway for working grandparents that needed some downtime. Enjoyed the perfect weather and breathing the salt air.

The most ghetto vacations I have ever gone to.
Dirty, outdated, with a lot of activities to do but beach was full of trash many feral cats going around, many stores for souvenirs. First time here and last.

The helicopters are none stop right over our hotel all fricken day.. no rest, no peace or quiet. Sometime 4 in a row. Will not be back

I know we arrived towards the end of the day, but broken glass on any beach is a concern, after also visiting Atlantic and Neptune Beach in Jacksonville FL and Hilton Head Beach we continued up to Myrtle Beach. As I said it was towards the end of the day but trash was everywhere and we ended up picking up large shards of glass and glass bottles out of the sand. Hopefully they have one of those sand cleaners. Sand was very nice though, no rocks and great colors with some waves for boogie boarding. Glass from terrible tourists just ruined the end

We were mainly there to golf. The weather ranged from 40° to 75° depending on the day. We stayed at Sea Watch resort which was close to restaurants, bars, and courses.

My husband and I stayed in North Myrtle. We drove through Myrtle and the strip. It was interesting to say the least. Lots of condemned condo buildings. It looks like they are trying to rebuild a lot and make it nicer. It will be a while before that happens. I enjoyed the drive, but would never stay in Myrtle Beach.

The water was cooler than expected for August, but very comfortable. Waves a little rough the beginning of the week, but finally calmed down by the end of the vacation. Water nice and clear. We brought our own beach chairs and umbrellas, but you can rent them on the beach.

If you really want to go to the ocean, Florida is the only option. I don’t get it how people like Myrtle Beach, it is gheeeeettttoooooo. Nothing really to see, nothing fancy. But if you want to spend your time like you are retired, then yes, that’s the place for you. It is NOT for young people. Lol

This is my absolute favorite place to be. Its been a bit rainy but still in the 60's, cannot be happier

Fun place to take a vacation with lots to do.!! There is so many activities and you really can watch your budget and have a great time there!!

We enjoyed our vacation in Myrtle Beach. Ocean Boulevard is a fun and busy stretch but relaxing on the beach watching the Atlantic waves roll in was most enjoyable and hearing the waves at night was so soothing. Myrtle Beach is clean and seashells are everywhere.
Watching the Sun rise is an absolute must!!!

NEVER AGAIN!! We had to come up with a quick vacation before our daughter starts her internship. DO NOT COME DURING BIKE WEEK!!! The bikes have become idiots. Blare their stereos when supposedly going 25. Doughnuts in the streets, revving their bikes when they see kids and pets. They start losing revenue, maybe the cops will do something.

Always welcome an opportunity to see new places. have had this on our bucket list. the beach was clean and easy to walk. wished the weather had been more cooperative for our week....some thing you just can not plan or guaranty.

Look, if you want a family friendly beach that doesn’t try to monetize every experience, please go somewhere else. Destin Florida is warmer, has cleaner water, and doesn’t feel the need to charge your family 50 dollars For an umbrella because that is literally the only thing you’re allowed to use on the beach. They’ve given the resort the power to call the rules for the beach experience. Annoying, we will not be back. I suggest you give another state your money.

Beautiful! We went just before dusk. The beach was clean and the water, mesmerizing! The sand was soft and the wind, warm. We collected so many seashells, took naps, played in the water...! Great memories!

Advise to visit Charleston or somewhere else. Everything is run down yet ur charged for everything. Restaurants are all overpriced and food tasted like out of microwave. The one restaurant that was good didn’t have public restrooms. We went out to the beach was setting up our stuff and was stopped because our umbrella was made into a blanket u can sit on because we have baby it gives better shade from sun. They said it had to be stand up umbrella. I guess it cause we didn’t buy umbrellas they were offering but then one of those umbrella flew into where we were sitting yet even tho lifeguard who told us to put it up saw this they didn’t come to help. 5 different times we seen people chasing those umbrellas. Great to be policed and charged for everything when u have junkies shooting up in broad day light and slumming under the pier. I could go on but this was worst beach vacation spot ever…

There is so much to do in Myrtle Beach. From the spacious beaches to the wonderful attractions to the great seafood restaurants, you will find something great for everyone in the family. We also love going to the two state parks because of the easy parking, bathrooms and cooking areas. Also shopping areas abound so you can find anything you desire. Finally if you are a golfer you can play different courses for weeks and weeks.

It was a half block walk from my oceanfront hotel to a less crowded area of the beach: white sand; lots of shells; room for families to set up corn hols or other games while others sunbathed, read, or walked their dogs. For those looking for more "action" and crowds, there's the area closer to the oardwalk

Visitors for Bike weeks take over all Myrtle Beach hotels and bars. Too many are loud, obnoxious, and add crime and unsafe road conditions to the entire MB area.
It’s sad because the weather in May is great in MB. Too bad the town has sold out to such a rough crowd. Stay away when bike weeks are scheduled. The police close streets and force all cars driving through town into cattle shoots in an attempt to keep the peace. Not your typical beach vacation.

I used to live in SC and went to Myrtle Beach often. I live in Georgia now and was invited to go to Gulf Shores with friends. I fell in love with Gulf Shores. White powdery sand and warm clear water. Never cared for Myrtle beach, too commercialized. The water was cold, rough water and the sand was gray.

They clean the beach area every night as well as empty trash cans daily. Watch out for the big hole in front of RIPTIDE Resort.

The staff was very nice and helpful, there name is Zuzana and shonta. Just relaxing and enjoying the beach and the different things you can do here

We’ve visited Myrtle Beach about 5 years ago. It was a really beautiful time , especially during Christmas. We’d love to go back , even again during the Christmas season. It was exciting, cozy, and and included yoga, art , and cooking classes. Wonderful winter time place to be …. Not just spring or summer!

Rude Life Guard:
One of the female lifeguards in front of Coral Beach we encountered very rude. Showed no respect or kindness to visitors. My money won't be spent here in South Carolina again for sure.
Rude Beach Chair Rental Company:
Not sure why beach rental company even allowed to reserved the entire beach front? This is very immoral and should not be existed.
Final Verdict: FOR THOSE REASONS, I WILL NOT COME BACK! I take my money and spend it else where. Good luck with your life South Carolinian.

On the wide white sandy beach you can see all the way to North Carolina. We love being at Myrtle during the off season because it is not as crowded, allowing us to just relax and recharge our batteries.
Waking up to glorious sunrises over the ocean, we spent our days on the beach and our evenings dining out at some of Myrtle’s nicer restaurants that rival those in Charleston.
Summers at Myrtle Beach are for energetic, priceless times with grandchildren. The rest of the year is for R & R.

Do Not come here during Bike week at the end of May. White Bike Week or Black Bike Week. They are so loud if you got kids they won't sleep the noise rattles the rooms. This not a vacation town for your family during this week. Stay away stay far away

Love Myrtle Beach - we stayed at Hilton Anderson Hotel right on the beach. My favorite part was going to the Boardwalk which was light with many Christmas lights and loads of selfie-photo ops along the walk. Tons of shops and restaurants to enjoy. We rode the Sky wheel for a spectacular view of the skyline and got the photo as a momento. It was a little cool - 40's but it finally got up to 70 on the weekend. Loved watching all of the birds along the shoreline. Great trip.

This is such a loaded question because you're talking about all of Myrtle Beach. I will say we had a rough experience this last time. I am taking step by step.
We decided to fly in its 1.5 hours as opposed to an 8.5-hour drive. Our plane landed around 8 pm. Taxis were coming at a snail's pace 1 every 20-30 minutes. Uber and Lift didn't have enough drivers in the area to get us we waited over an hour to finally have someone pick us up I kept an eye on the people in the taxi line and we would have had waited for 3 more taxis before we would have gotten one. Our driver dropped us off at the wrong place on the opposite side of the beach. STAY AWAY FROM THE BEACH AREA CLOSEST TO THE AIRPORT. Once we found out we were at the wrong place the person said it was only about 1 mile down the road. So we figured we'd walk. We looked up once going outside and found out it was 5 miles down the beach. Once again not enough Uber or Lyft drivers and I had already seen what the taxi was like. We hoped walking closer to the boardwalk would help us get a driver it did, but it also lead us to witness a big domestic violence scene and gun violence. No one was hurt it took police a very long time to get there we didn't stick around. We told our driver what happened and said that the place has become extremely violent and to stay right on the beach and don't travel alone. We saw the incident we witnessed on the news the next day. The beach itself was fine but we were literally gun shy to go too far off the beach. We went to the boardwalk, full of people begging. We got a lady a coffee and something else the person behind the counter was extremely annoyed and ran the lady off as soon as she got her stuff. There was hardly anything open during the day it seems everything opens later. I would not want to be around there after dark. Everyone we talked to that was a local about our experience said that the place has become dangerous and they don't pick up a lot of places because of violence. If you are strictly there for the beach and the well known area Board Walk at the Beach or the other outlets it's fine but I wouldn't go down any side streets or anything.

This resort has it all. Our 2 bedroom deluxe condo was huge. The only reason I didn't give the resort 5 stars is because they don't enforce the mask/social distancing rules. The health safety of the resorts guest should be a high priority.

We enjoyed the beach even though the weather was not what we'd hoped for. We stayed in the Crown Reef hotel which was less than elegant with strong chemical smelling bedding to broken seals on windows making it difficult to see the beach.

I have been visiting here on and off for years, but the last couple times has been an issue. Apparently the city has been sending it's street sweeper out at 1-4am on N Ocean Blvd where people are trying to sleep at night. I'm really annoyed at how loud this machine is. There is no excuse for waking people up at those hours. I'm sure this person in charge of getting this done probably doesn't live in the areas where it goes. I am here for a month at a time and never witness this machine in the daytime. If this continues for this year this way they can lose another tourist to another city. I will find another place to be. Myrtle beach has been a very nice place to come so really disappointed now over this ordeal.

Still plenty to do in September. Felt safe walking on the boardwalk. Visible police presence. Ended up staying at the Homewood Suites after a bad start at another hotel. Great location on the boardwalk. Did not have a car and did just fine. With tip a taxi from the airport cost $20 Walked to Dollar General a couple of blocks over to get water and felt safe. Beach was uncrowded and the weather was great.

Extremely unfriendly beach staff, dirty and run down town, which draws some of the worst people. We made a last minute decision to go on a beach getaway, and we would have been far better off staying home and going to the pool. This place is truly awful, and it has nothing to do with covid as the city likes to use as an excuse.

Back to Myrtle Beach again for another getaway. Our whole family loves Myrtle Beach. Every part of the entire beach is so beautiful and spectacular. We stay away from trouble, so we have never had a problem in the 15 years we’ve been coming here. The shopping is full of great deals. We always pack light and leave loaded. Depending on prices and deals, we only stay at either Ocean Reef, Caribbean Resort or Monterey Bay Suites. Great staff at all of the above. Spend the extra $ and stay in a room with an OCEANFRONT balcony. It’s definitely worth its weight in gold.

We had so much fun.as ALWAYS. we go there every year but we've skipped last year.So we gotta get caught up.we live in a very small town in Ga.Weve been going to Myrtle Beach yearly for at least 15 yrs now.weve made it a Tradition

Walking the board walk front streets during the day. You have many places to see and do. Walking along the beach at the shore line just enough to get your feet wet at night. Listening to the night music as you walk along the beach. No one judges your body size or what you wear. At night street cars ride up and down the front street to show off there cars with fancy lights on them and the loud music they play. No worries there is a curfew time for that so it does last all night.
People there are not in a rush. They wait for you to walk across the road without yelling or horn honking at you to quickly get across the road.

Star Employee Laporcha over night manager was very great helping me check in and finding my way around in the wonderful Dunes. Very respectful full of energy even in the night time and just an amazing soul, I truly will recommend anyone to stay here.! You will sure love it as I do

Inhospitable is more like it. DON'T waste your time and money. The boardwalk itself and retail businesses are dilapidated, old, overpriced, and tacky. I could see the disdain in the locals faces as we walked into their bars and venues. Service in general was terrible and rude. We were denied service in restaurant because they didn't want to serve us one hour before they closed even though they knew we were hungry and tired from long trip. The food in all but one restaurant was not good. Its too bad because beaches were pretty and well kept.

Unlike the majority of beaches, Myrtle is too restrictive, in that you are not permitted to use sun shade devices other than umbrellas or what you pay for from the Life Guards. While this may seem trivial, sun protection is not. I attempted to put up my light weight safe Sun Ninja tent, only to be asked to take it down, while I am watching umbrellas blowing down the the beach. The town allows the use of tents from Labor day to Memorial Day. That is not a concession of value.

The strand area of Myrtle Beach is what it is. Always been that way. We have been going to MB for decades as native carolinians. Reminds me of Fort Myers Beach. Lots of shops, stores, and people everywhere. The umbrella rules seem to be rididculuous.

First time visitor. Lots of shoreline that is kept really clean. We’ve enjoyed our time here even though it’s winter. Would love to comeback with the kids.

Had a very nice time in fall. Beach is very nice and ocean still warm enough to swim in October. Lots of restaurant choices

We had not been to Myrtle Beach in 4 years, was very dissappointed. It has real gone down, we stayed on 2nd row in cottage. The hotels in front of the cottage was filled with lot of illegal acts going on, loud people hanging around outside of these hotels. You did not feel safe in the area. It is not a family safe beach any longer.

Great vacation for family and myself. My wife and kids really enjoyed it 👏🏾. We rented a condo through AirBnB on Shore Drive about 15 to 20 min away from boardwalk and sky wheel. Nice and quiet area where we stayed, but when we were on Ocean Blvd ( both north and south ) it was lit like a torch 🔥. Plenty to enjoy and the beach was fun and crowded. Folks was friendly too. Parking in the public access beach parking lots was reasonable, only $2.00 per hour and $10.00 for the entire day in most locations ( not all ) . The Boardwalk was nice too 👍🏾

We recommend the North Myrtle beach area it seems more civilized, pleasant and appropriate for more age groups.

I’m coming here for the sun, beach, and golf. I’ve been here a few times and I absolutely love it. It’s like a hidden gem. It’s not so crazy busy like the big name beach spot and that’s why I love it. It’s very safe for children. If you’re not here for trouble and mischief, then you won’t have any problems. I’ve driven my brand new shinny convertible rental car all over and late at night and felt safe every where I went. The people here are happy and friendly. I’m definitely coming back soon. I LOVED my trip here.

I don't remember spending so much time in the water on any beach we've been to. In a typical beach experience, my wife dips her toes in the ocean, decides that the water is too cold, then goes back to sit in the shade. I typically stay in the water to make sure that my daughter is safe. If other friends are around to watch the kids, I also get out of the water more often. At Myrtle Beach, I spent most of the time in the ocean. My wife also got in the water more often and for longer periods of time (at some point she spent more than 2 hours in the water without thinking that she must get out). This was the extremely good part of the experience.
On the negative side, the big umbrella and beach chair industry likely lobbied for laws that rip off tourists. We have a small canopy that we used on many other beaches, but we could not use on Myrtle Beach. We ended up paying an insane amount of money to rent some legal shade.

BEWARE OF ELLIOTT BEACH RENTALS. In May, we booked for the entire month of October at Baywatch 3. We were in the area in August and stopped in to see that property. We were surprised that the public areas of the property were not well maintained. Upon seeing the unkempt quality, we called and cancelled our reservation. The property was re-rented 26 of the 31 days that we had reserved, so I expected to received my downpayment of $900 as a refund, less the $100 cancellation fee. As of today 11/22/24, I have not received a refund at all. I have called Elliott Realty 3 times this week, left messages and was never called back. Finally got someone today and was told that I would get $123 refund, but they had no idea when it would be issued; that was up to the Accounting Dept. I asked to speak to the the Accounting Dept and was told they don't take calls. I feel that Elliott Beach Rentals is not being fair about the amount of the refund, not to mention their inadequate response to my inquiries.

The beach is nice and clean and the water is great! It's fun to try and fight the waves. I have to look up how to avoid jellyfish next time. 😆

Much has changed since I first started coming here but Southern Hospitality has not. Love the town. Good for kids. Good for seniors. Good for lovers. Stay away from the buffets.

Myrtle Beach is a run down empty shell of what it once was. This used to be a popular family vacation destination with fun beaches, nice hotels and awesome bars and restaurants. Now it’s dirty, neglected, and the streets are lined with trash and shady people. Buildings are boarded up and falling apart. What a shame.
North Myrtle Beach is a little cleaner and more well maintained if you need an escape from the slums. We ended up spending a day in Wilmington just to get away from the disappointment. Otherwise I’d stay as far away from this place as possible. Charleston or the Outer Banks are much better options if you’re looking for a NC/SC beach.

Been coming for years and things have changed. If you have a family with children, please avoid this beach. Trashy people and you do not feel safe walking around. I would compare Myrtle these days to Ocean City Maryland. It's not worth the risk! Next year we're heading to a cleaner, less thuggish Beach!

Although I love beaches that have blue/clear waters, The color of the water cannot be controlled… So speaking on cleanliness and aesthetics, Myrtle Beach is beautiful. The surrounding areas were very beautiful as well. And The people seem very friendly.

We had another great vacation at Dunes Village Resort. Thanks to Marlene for making us feel welcome as soon as we drove up, Toni at the Front Desk was great, and Onedillia she worked really well with the children. We love coming here. This is our 7th visit. All 25 of us will be back next year. God Willing.

Rooms are outdated and not kept well. Did find some dead bugs behind the bed. Carpet was peeling and rolling up in corners. Breakfast was not appealing. Was basic cereal, toast or small tiny unwrapped pastries that weren’t very appealing to look at .
But , the old man at night check in was about the best positive service we got. He was amazing and charming. The rest.. not so much.

Amazing place for a family vacation! Plenty of family activities and shopping. Nice clean beaches and warm ocean water. Couldn’t have asked for a better trip with my kids!

We come to MB at least a couple times a year. I always stay on the beach so I get what I want but also MB has so much to do that it keeps my kids happy & qe have fun. We definitely love the dinner shows.

Fantastic white sand beach, can walk for miles in the sunshine and it wasn't overly busy either. Lots of space to stretch out and soak up some rays. Id like to visit again, very peaceful.

Perfect beach if you don't come in peak season. Lots to do for the kids. Close by are tons of restaurants.

We walked the beech a couple times. It’s a nice relaxing walk. The water was cool but not too cold. It is a nice walk.

We had a great time visiting but the only. Reason I’m putting this review in is to hope that some city official reads it. They need to do something about the drag racing on the Blvd. our hotel room faced the Blvd and at night all you hear is the cars reving up their engines as they drive the strip. I had to plug my ears a couple of times as we walked down the street. Must be something you can do to make this a little more fun.

We were staying at our resort. We were able to access the beach through the walkway of the resort. The water is freezing but we took a long walk on the beach. My son loved building sand castle. The beach is clean with plenty of opportunities to collect shells. We were told that in spring the turtles come to nest. We also covered up any holes that we dug up on the beach.

Everything was just perfect. Well maintained. Found some amazing shells. The people are pretty much keep to themselves which is ok by us

Avoid Elliott Realty - Cherry Grove
Disappointing Stay at Tropical Winds – Poor Property Condition & Unresponsive Management
Last week, our extended family stayed at both units of Tropical Winds Up and Down, and unfortunately, the experience was far from what we expected. Both units had numerous issues, and dealing with Elliott Realty was frustrating and time-consuming. My wife spent a significant portion of our vacation on the phone trying to get basic issues resolved.
Tropical Winds Down:
• AC not working upon arrival – We were left in the heat while waiting on hold for 20 minutes before a technician was dispatched. He quickly cleared a clogged condensate drain, which made us suspect this was a recurring issue.
• Kitchen poorly stocked – There were no plates, no bread pans and three plastic bowls which weren’t suitable for microwave use. There was no kitchen trash can, no can opener, and no wine opener. After contacting Elliott they delivered seven plates though the house was advertised for ten people,. They eventually delivered a trash can and later delivered an electric can opener.
• Appliances and amenities – The Keurig didn’t work and wasn’t replaced until mid-week. The clock in the dining room was broken. The washing machine wouldn’t drain.
• Furniture and bedding – Some bed lacked a waterproof mattress cover (which I believe is required by law,) and another had no center support, causing it to sag badly making for poor sleeping.
• Locked out – We were locked out and again held on the phone for around 20 minutes. The code provided was incorrect. Thankfully, I stayed on the line, and a locksmith was sent. He was professional and helpful, but the code couldn’t be reset as instructed in the check-in materials.
Tropical Winds Up:
• Dishwasher broken – It didn’t work the entire week. We were finally told it would be repaired on Saturday, the day we were leaving.
• Maintenance issues – Baseboard missing in the kitchen near the dishwasher.
Overall:
The lack of responsiveness from Elliott Realty and the poor condition of both units made for a stressful and disappointing vacation. We expected better for the price and location. I would not recommend staying at Tropical Winds or booking through Elliott Realty based on this experience.

Unfortunately the days we were there March 31st -April 2nd the weather wasn't cooperating. The winds were high the first day but if you stayed in the sun it was nice. That night there was a heavy thunderstorm. The next day was colder but not as windy. April 2nd it was so cold and windy we cut our trip short and went home. If the weather is good Myrtle Beach is a great place.

I hadn't been here in ten years because it had gotten run down. I thought I would give it a try again. The highway system is a maze, so make sure you have a good GPS. Eating at night was our biggest problem. Most of the restaurants were pricey, and this made it tough to feed my daughter because she's not a big eater. For some reason, every meal we ate at different restaurants was very bland. We also noticed that when we were trying to cross the road at a cross-walk, the cars with local tags didn't even think about stopping. They would plow right through. The water isn't clear at all, so if you are wanting to dive or snorkel, go somewhere else. If you have a family, stay out of South Myrtle. The folks walking the streets up there were not very friendly to say the least. It was just a tough trip. We'll be going back to the Gulf from now on, and I noticed we kept talking about our trips down there instead of what we were currently doing.

White sand beaches! Lifeguards on duty -- beautiful coastline. Pretty crowded for September but absolutely a must!

Our family loves Myrtle Beach for the spacious beaches and friendly people. We enjoyed it so much that we moved from Atlanta and bought a home here. The state parks are awesome and Brookgreen gardens is an amazing much-see for sculpture and nature-lovers.

TAGGR parking solutions looks like a city run parking lot but it isn't. I have a veteran plate that let's me park for free in Myrtle Beach but this lot does not have any signs that indicate that it's a private lot. Over $100 for a 45 minute parking. They deserve all the pettiness I'm going to deliver.

This was an eye opening trip to Myrtle Beach.
My family and I stayed in the South Ocean Boulevard section and were so saddened and surprised about the conditions of the hotels , the entrances to the beaches as well as the sad sad large amount of homeless people and addicts that are in the area.
I hope there is some type of help for all of these people who are homeless.
As far as a place to vacation I am sure we will not be staying in that area of the beach again and not sure we will choose Myrtle Beach as a vacation destination again.
I didn’t feel safe going to our vehicle or walking in the area alone.
One of the areas that we did enjoy was The Costal Strand Mall .

Myrtle Beach is not crowded. I was not fighting for a space in the sand and a view of the ocean. And it was quiet. You heard the waves not loud conversations and music for others.

Myrtle Beach was amazing! We truly relaxed and enjoyed ourselves. We took a long walk on the beach, even got caught in the rain, but it was worth every moment.

The beach stretches' for miles in both directions with beautiful sunrises. Packed sand at low tides which is excellent for bike riding --also dog friendly.

Stick to north myrtle beach or seafront area, ocean blvd IS NOT SAFE. We had no idea such a beautiful oceanfront location could be such a bad neighborhood and had planned to go without a rental car. We walked along beach to boardwalk first day (daylight) the beach was crowded with people and lots and lots of litter. Walked back along the street and we were literally scared out of our minds, drugged up people everywhere. We took an uber to dinner 2 miles away that night for $30 one way. Next day we rented a car and drove out of neighborhood to dine. NEVER stay in that area again even though the ocean is beautiful.

I recommend Virginia Beach over Myrtle Beach as it is just such a nice clear tropical boardwalk that makes you feel like you are in FL. Myrtle Beach was dirty and a lower class of people who were rude, partying to much, blasting music and raising cars up and down the main drag. the restaurants and hotels are not as nice. Rides are broken up off the boardwalk on different streets, which makes it hard to buy all inclusive wristband or tickets, since they are all different owners.

It’s just not for me. $1000 for three nights at a filthy “resort” is not my bag. It’s so heavily tourist centered that you cannot get anything of quality or value. The inability to use your own sun protection on the beach is dangerous and irresponsible. Over all it’s dirty, loud, unsafe and many places have a smell. Also, this is my second year here (family obligations) and this is the second year people are setting M80’s off on the beach at midnight. It’s ridiculous. Smell of weed everywhere. Take your kids to a safer cleaner place. Statistically, Myrtle Beach has one of the highest crime rates in America for a community of its size. Not worth it.

I would rate this place 5/5 its awesome I would recommend this beach for a family planning to go on a trip they provide free breakfast with the cost of the hotel I loved it it was awesome.
Lennon T, 10 years old

it you ever wanna go to Myrtle beach cancel you vacation now! If you go there your life is at risk. everywhere there is a crackhead. ok maybe the beach is nice until homeless man decides he's gonna take a shower next to you. Don't even get me started on Walmart. if your in Walmart you might be thinking Myrtle beach isn't so bad after all once yu walk out you might see a homeless man trying to poop on the wall yep POOP ON THE WALL. So now you know NEVER GO TO MYRTLE BEACH

What happened to this place?? Been here several times over the years and it was always nice BUT I have not been there in a few years and WOW the boardwalk is in horrible condition and we were half afraid to go out at night due to all the junkies sleeping and taking up all the benches and constantly asking for handouts. Twice we seen the cops chasing them by the pier

What a great place to vacation. The Grand Strand has 300,000 hotel rooms, 30,000 camping sites, and nearly 1,000 restaurants. The beaches are wide and public amenities are plentiful. What a fun place for young families and teenagers.

We took our daughter, son-in-law and grands for a week of fun and sun! Myrtle Beach did NOT disappoint!!!

Myrtle Beach is one of the United State’s best family-friendly vacation spots.
It is so clean and naturally beautiful. The stretch of golden sands are gently caressed by the methodical motion of the blue waves.
Unlike several of our planet’s most popular beaches, Myrtle Beach remains untainted from many of the unfortunate environmental impacts which threaten our environment, such as pollution, over-population, and erosion.
This area is an excellent choice for your next family vacation.

This is a nice family area. Most of the hotels have water parks with a lazy river. Lots of the hotels are apartment style with a full kitchen. The main area has a boardwalk with shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. There is also an amusement park. Close by is Broadway at the beach, shopping center with restaurants, shops and tourist attractions. The area is in the process of getting a facelift in the past couple years so if you have not been in about 3 years, it is much cleaner and refreshed with newer hotels and condos. The drive on 501 can get pretty congested so be prepared. Overall I recommend the area, it is very budget friendly with lots to do.

Went with wife and granddaughters to Myrtle Beach Travel Park for a week. We camped in our travel trailer in site 556. Nice campground but there was a lot of traffic since we were on the main rd. Kids we disappointed that they did not get to swim in the outdoor pool because it was cold. They did get to swim in the heated pool which was lukewarm. We ate out at several local restaurants and went to the Aquarium(see reviews) We have stayed at MB Travel Park several times and we are always treatd well

Too busy, outdated and smelly hotels called “resorts”, urine stink all over and unfortunately a whole vacation ruined by Sea Crest Oceanfront Resort

Lifeguards should spend more time watching swimmers instead of policing umbrellas and hassling people.
The rules are setup as a money grab. Pure and simple. The city needs to revisit their beach policies.

Personally, I think the fair and accurate rating for Myrtle Beach is a 3 out of 5. Those who rate it for what it is will give it a 5, and those who rate it for what they want it to be will give it a 1.
It is without a doubt crowded, which is a negative to some and a positive to others. It’s mostly high-rise style buildings, which some people love and some people hate. For me, the views and amenities at high-rise resorts tend to be very nice, but the environmental impact and overcrowding are really negative.
There is a without a doubt a lot to do in Myrtle Beach. There are tons of activities, especially for young children. It’s a place of entertainment not really a place of relaxation, so know what you’re getting into. If you want to get away to a quiet place, it’s probably not for you.
I think people who say there isn’t a lot of inappropriate, disruptive behavior aren’t being truthful. The fact that there are signs such as “Your beach is not your ashtray” and “No concealable weapons allowed” (even at outdoor shopping and entertainment areas like Broadway) posted around town paints a picture of what to expect. That said, I’m not sure the there’s-crime-on-every-corner statements that some reviewers make are really true either.
If you like it, you’ll love it. If you dislike it, you’ll hate it.

this place is good to go this expirceis great we stayed for 5 days in our hotel I going this year and in 2025,2026,2027,2028

Came to Myrtle Beach with extended family. It was a nice time to visit, explore, and have fun. The weather was beautiful.

We had a great time at Myrtle Beach with 2 teens. We stayed close to the beach, enjoying the shops and restaurants. Bring your own umbrella and beach chairs to save the $45 a day renal fee. Be sure to check the beach ordinance on umbrella specifics. We especially enjoyed Banditos Cantina, RipTydz Oceanfront Grille & Rooftop Bar, and Mellow Mushroom.

My family ( MM4) and I went to Myrtle Beach amongst other places for our chosen and selected family vacations- We go where we want when we want so we are blessed and will forever stay blessed and have traveled to safe, chosen places we decide - Again we go where we want and when we want and always have high quality experiences-I’m tired of the ignorant comments “people” have about where you go and how much you spend it’s called being super pathetic when they say stuff that makes no sense- they really hate themselves-

South Bay Inn and Suites ….. Zuzana Dee/Shonta was the best, she took care of us and always so attentive to us in breakfast time.!!! Great experience at the hotel and staff, definitely coming back ..!

This beach accommodates everybody. No bathrooms available .Choice of parking areas.Parking meters have been installed. Credit cards accepted.A good walk to the center of the Hub and shops.

I should have done my homework before making a 16 hour drive to visit this godforesaken place for Spring Break! The weather was nice and the beach is fine, but this city needs some serious help! Crappy t-shirt shops, high crime, and unruly people make this place the redneck riviera! It might have been a nice place 10+ years ago, but it is in despair and the city doesn’t seem to care!
North Myrtle Beach seems to be the better option if you MUST visit!

very clean. Water was warm and I'm not use to it because of usually going to NJ. Just again if you want to rent the chairs and umbrella a little expensive

This is a review on the Coral Beach Resort in Myrtle Beach. We stayed a total of 4 hours. The smell of chlorine was so strong as soon as you enter the lobby and elevators it was disgusting. The rooms need a major face lift nothing like the pictures on line. My daughters were staying in another room and found a cockroach climbing up the wall, my husband killed, brought it to the front desk. The manager did not seem all too surprised. We were already looking for a new place to stay but because it was late it was difficult. They offered to move my kids to another room, my daughter was plugging her phone charger in the wall and saw the antenna's of another cockroach coming out. We eventually found a new place to stay for the night and the remainder of our stay. We were refunded for our trip but would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. The state of SC should shut this place down.

Nice, clean beach! Umbrella and chairs for rent. No food service availabilities on beach. Great for long walks.

The days of Myrtle Beach being a great tourist location is gone. It has transformed into take the tourist for all you can and now let's even get the residents. Uing your charge card. You can expect to have a 3 to 4 percent charge added because your using it. Now ad your city tax state tax and tips, bring your banker. You can most likely for to many Florida spots for tge same money and have much more to do. Golf courses are being sold to build house on instead of golf so check to see if your course is still operating. Parking will cost you if you can find a spot. Going to a State Park they now gave reserve parking and pay for that. Wish you fun on your next trip to somewhere else.

It was amazing the family had an amazing time we talk to one the employees named hughan grey he was so funny hope he will still be here we we com back next time the views were amazing and I just loved everything

Beautiful beach, very clean and well maintained. Everyone needs to go to Myrtle Beachonce in their lives!

If you drive an EV and plan to stay a week or more rent a house where you can trickle charge every night. Don’t rent a hotel or condo. Charging here is next to zero. If you have a loud stinky pickup truck come in that you’ll blend right in.

I absolutely loved this beach. My wife and I enjoy looking for shells up and down the beach and this beach was full of them. Also I liked it was close to our resort.

We love Myrtle Beach. We started coming to Myrtle Beach when I was a teenager. I am now bringing my early 20s kids!

Beautiful beach but prices are expensive to eat almost anywhere. Lots of planes and helicopters flying around which takes a lot of peace out of it. We defiantly enjoyed the area more at Huntington Beach State Park. Overall MB felt like a giant tourist trap. Was glad to leave tbh.

Lived there most of my life. If you're ever unfortunate enough to end up here, stick to either North Myrtle or Murrels Inlet. The actual city of Myrtle is pretty gross and largely unsafe. Case and point, one of the few times I went walking on the beach directly in Myrtle, I almost stepped on a used needle. Long story short you're better off either visiting the Outer Banks in NC, Charleston, or Hilton Head.

It was an enjoyable trip. Everything was great! However the condo we rented was subpar at best. It was very dated, there was only two washcloths in the whole condo. As we watched tv one night a large roach ran across the floor. This was at Seaside Resort just off third avenue downtown. We rented it from big fish rentals. We will not use them again! Just a pain to work with.

I believe Myrtle Beach is hyped up more than your ordinary beach and I’m not sure why. Is it a nice beach? Yes. Is it a nice way to spending the day or evening? Yes. The only difference though that I noticed is that the water is warm.
Beyond that it’s just a lot of fluff. I could walk forever on this beach and it would be wonderful.

Horry County sold beach front access to a umbrella company. If you rent a condo for Myrtle Beach you may not have access to beach front. Don’t go to the beach without checking with rental company. Just don’t go to Myrtle Beach. Money over tourist for Horry County.

The beach as always was gorgeous and clean. The hotel was... Well let's just say you get what you pay for but I was there for the beach. Although it was unseasonably chilly when I was there hopefully it will be warm in august

This is a place for lower middle class Ohio and Kentuckians. They’re rude, they’re crude. They smoke on the beach. The black bikers are obnoxious and discourteous drivers.
We go to Hilton Head now, and everyone talks to us. No one talked to us in MB. In Myrtle Beach, they assume two guys on the beach together are gay, which we are. One family that were repeat vacationers at the same time we were, the buffed father with the not so attractive wife and punk kids talked to us unsolicited when his family wasn’t around then disowned us later when they came back. His kids made fun of us too. They made friends with the a family from Kentucky on one of the trips that kept chasing the seagulls away.
The shopkeepers and restaurant owners are also disengaged more than you would usually expect. Got harassed by one of the restaurant owners with calls in the middle of the night for leaving a bad review. Was responded to inappropriately online by one of the store managers at the outlet mall over a review left over bad service.
For just a little bit more, you can go to Hilton head. The residents and fellow vacationers are more polished and in tune to the tourist. Education makes a difference; they are more accepting and better mannered. It is also more pedestrian and biker friendly. It’s a beautiful place.

This is definitely a touristy and crowded money suck. Lots of weed smoking (stench) and very pro trump, (which alone is enough to make me hate it here. ) I used to come here as a kid but it’s changed. N Myrtle beach is better but still super crowded. It’s a no for me.

This place is so trashy, people and service. Everything we tried to do was challenging. The people renting the beach chairs seemed so incompetent. Service at restaurants is so crappy. We didn't have one good experience with this town.

Just like Detroit, but with an ocean, and more drug addicts and mentally-ill homeless. Do your research. It ain't what it was.

Disappointed by resort destinations where your wallet cries of starvation? Not here. Come, enjoy, leave without filing bankruptcy.

I came from 4 hours away, beautiful beach is the only good thing I can say, the beaches are public but as a family we could not put our own shade or tent to shelter from the sun, everything has to be paid for and the prices are too high for a shade The truth is, I was very discouraged and I don't think I will return.

The resort was very nice and clean. The water parks and pools were clean and fun. The food was good at the Restaurants. Easy access to the beach. Our housekeeper Maggie went above and beyond thank you Maggie. Thank you to everyone who works there all were so nice and friendly. You made our vacation better !!

I don’t go beach much so I don’t have much compare too. I do travel a lot. Our hotel was steps away from sand this area was clean. There was life guards patrolling. It was very windy. At night could find tons of sea shells.

Beautiful beach cool looking spot down 17 but terrible service, like everywhere. Don't go! Plenty of nice beaches close by. Look up Brunswick County Beaches on the NC side.

The beaches are still nice, BUT, if you're booking a trip, make sure you stay in a resort, or a community with night time security! Very Important! Crime rate and drugged out junkies are at an all time high down in this area! No issues with gated community, or patrolled facility. #2: Restaurant reviews! Read them. A lot of the fast food restaurants are horrible and ghetto! Be careful and carry! Better to have and not need than Need and NOT have! Be SAFE and enjoy family and friends.

Elliott Rental falsely advertised the rental fee of a home called Sugar Hill on its website. We reserved the week of August 19, 2023 for a fee of $3,085.88 (including taxes, linen rental fees and cleaning service). We signed contract and placed downpayment of $1,175 on June 25, 2023 and paid balance of $1,910.88 on July 20, 2023. On July 24, 2023 we received a voicemail message and email claiming that owner is increasing rental fee for the week of August 19th by an additional $3,600. Without our consent, Elliott Rental cancelled our reservation at Sugar Hill and placed us in an inferior house for the same week. We feel that this is unethical and a classic example of bate and switch. We contacted Elliott Rental on July 25 to discuss matter, but rather than provide logical explanation, they preferred to refund our money. We had booked airline tickets and planned this vacation for months. We now have nowhere to go as everything we had liked is booked. We are dismayed by their arrogance and total lack of customer service. How is a company allowed to change the pricing of a booking once a contract is signed?

Have stayed here numerous times. There is an outstanding inexpensive car wash on Kings Highway around 13th St. The beach is nice. I like to pick up shells, but pickens are very slim here. Mostly damaged and partial shells. Supposedly there is a leash law for dogs. Not a whole lot of enforcement if you want your dog to run around on the beach. Sunrises can be outstanding.

The beach is nasty. I have been to multiple beaches and this one takes the cake for being the nastiest. The people here and rude. People let their dog poop straight on the beach and didn’t even pick it up. Will NOT be back, first and last trip to Myrtle Beach for me.This atmosphere is NOT for me or kid friendly.

I suggest a Beach south of Myrtle. Myrtle Beach isn’t very safe after dark anymore. Always shootings and kidnappings. Lose to the blvd. I moved here in 1986 and raised my children here. But it’s not the same as it was. Sex trafficking, drugs, shootings and gangs just to name a few issues.

There is nothing prettier than a clean, white sand beach. I have to say that the cleaners do an excellent job here in terms of maintenance and keeping it clean. Probably the main reason, other than golfing, that vacationing in Myrtle Beach is so popular.

The beach at Myrtle Beach, SC is gorgeous. If you enjoy playing in the waves like I do, you can't beat Myrtle Beach. The waters are warm (even when it was raining the whole week like it did my week of visiting). And in August, the surf is not rough. White sand and just enough sea shells for collecting without so many to hurt your feet. Life guard protected and clean.

WOW, has this place changed. All-day and most of the night the bikers roar up and down the road. Covid kills eating opps. When you go, just grit your teeth and let everyone else do what they want.

The best beach and area on the East Coast- owned a place for over 30 years, bought a bigger place & moved down permanently 3 years ago- never looked back at the Northeast!

This is a good beach to visit with the family. We were here at the beginning of the off season so the crowd was smaller but a lot of places aren't open or have very limited hours. The sand is nice but the beach gets really thin at high tide. There are some pretty decent waves during most of the tides but they get really small for part of it too. Shell hunting was ok. The pigeons and sea gulls were pretty minimal, so that was a plus. There were a few a few great egrets but not much other wildlife. The dunes are pretty short and thin but protected.

We usually go to Florida for our beach vacations but wanted to avoid as much humidity as possible and decided on Myrtle. The beach itself is nice (very crowded), but I’m not a fan of the city or the restaurants. We stayed at Bluewater Resort and was warned by the bartender it’s not safe to be walking the streets night. There seems to be a stray cat problem all over the entire beach and boardwalk. There are a lot of big holes in the beach sand, I was told this was overflow from the cities storm drains.

We were located at Indigo a hotel by the beach in Myrtle Beach area. The noise levels from recreational helicopters repeating every 2 minutes is very disturbing. The local authorities should take a stand to protect tourism in this area , tourists' and residents rights for quietude and relaxation and regulate the frequency of these commercial helicopters .

Apart from the beach, here's everything wrong with Myrtle Beach:
- smelled like P!ss and cigarettes
- WASHROOMS WERE DIRTY AND NASTY AS F-. One of the washrooms in the restaurant smelled like beer/p!ss.
- I saw a shirt saying " I love thick girls", "i love b**bs" How is this not illegal there (SC) or in all of America?. This is why America gets flamed
- loud music especially at night.
I heard Myrtle Beach is nicknamed "Dirty Myrtle" or something like that which explains a lot. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND VACATION TO FLORIDA INSTEAD. This is why SC is unknown to the world, but Florida isn't.

Palm trees, shops, beach, mini putt,.....................what else do you need? Lovley clean and friendly people!

We absolutely love Myrtle Beach. We've come here since we were children. It has changed a lot but always always always so hospitable and friendly.

People were not allowed in the water more than knee deep for days although the weather was perfect and the waves were small. Reason, rip currents. Lifeguards were harassing people going up and down the beach constantly. Some people managed rarely to go deeper and swim for a few minutes until a lifeguard would show up again.
I did not notice anybody having trouble with any rip current.
Despite everything being calm it seemed strange not seeing people in the water.
Obviously many people's vacation was spoiled, including mine.
Shame on you Myrtle Beach for allowing lifeguards such unreasonable behavior. And Myrtle Beach + South Carolina you will not see me spending another cent in your state.

Our family has been spending time at Myrtle Beach since the 1950’s, and we consider it our “vacation home.” So many things to do, places to eat, and ways to enjoy the beach.

This is the only beach I love to go to. I spend all of my vacations here. The city is cute and clean

Every year or two we got to Myrtle Beach. We stay on the ocean in various hotels in both North and South Myrtle beach. We always enjoy our trips.

Just came home from our first time at Myrtle beach. The ocean and beach are clean but that's where it ends. As soon as we leave our hotel room we never really felt completely safe. A lot of police patroling made me feel it was a high crime rate area. Even the grocery store had a police officer. Other than that, the beach was clean. Many little shops and resturants along the boardwalk. I don't think we will visit again. So many other beaches with more of a nature feel and less commercialized.

not a safe place. homeless all over the beach and boardwalk. human fiecies on boardwalk, sidewalks and beaches. they follow you asking for money. talked to many business owners , they say it just keeps getting worse. i would not recommend , my family was not safe, and we will not go back.

January is a great time to explore Myrtle without the crowds. With the exception of a few days, we were able to get out on the beach comfortably and enjoy the sun. Not all restaurants and many attractions were not open, to the disappointment of my younger grandchildren....but Ripley's attractions were all open and well worth it.

The worst city of any place. To try to get a taxi, cab. You can forget it!! I've stayed at alot of city's never had a problem. Not Myrtle beach. The worst...

Second time in Myrtle Beach and hopefully the last. This beach could be amazing. Way too many people who do not care enough to clean up after enjoying a day at the beach.
They left watermelon rinds, pop and beer cans and dirty diapers all over the beach.
It’s a shame that people are that lazy when they have garbage cans nearby.
Kudos to the night crew who get up in the middle of the night to clean the beach. I can’t imagine what it would look like without them working so hard.

We wanted a resort on the beach and got one. It was a partial view of the ocean but was ok since we spent every day we were there on the beach. The last full day we were able to rent an umbrella and 2 chairs for $40 which was fine-we will most likely rent for the whole week next time just to have shade during the hottest part of the day.

We arrived on August 14, 2021 so after a year of isolation we we’re eager to head out to the ocean and forget about our troubles. Within about 10 minutes we noticed a lifeguard whistling at us. We were both astonished as we had never seen a lifeguard on Myrtle Beach let alone had one try to get our attention. When we walked to the lifeguard he said that you were not allowed to use rafts on the beach… Not believing him I went back to my room to do some research and none of us could find any rule whatsoever stating you could not bring a raft to Myrtle Beach. We confronted the lifeguard about this and the only response we got was a smug “I don’t know why, those are the rules”. I have been going to the beach for over 30 years of my life and I had never had someone tell me that I can’t use a raft. We all know the signs “No lifeguard on duty, swim at your own risk” as it is a place to relax and vacation, not be bombarded by regulations, but these lifeguards don’t seem to understand that. But it get’s worse! The next day we went out to the beach ready to head out to the waves and we noticed that there was nobody in the water. When apparently when there are two red flags out the lifeguards won’t let you in the water! I know at least myself and a few other members of my family have flew in all red flags before and most of the beach would be in the water if it wasn’t for the lifeguards.
Myrtle Beach was near and dear to my heart, a place to let our bodies kick back from the stress of our daily lives and it is a shame that you have ruined it. I don’t know if there is a certain time of year or place on the beach where there are no lifeguards but we never had these problems before. If anyone knows of a petition to remove lifeguards from the beach I would gladly sign it (you can reply below). We are not children; we can take responsibility for our own actions!

Not much sun the week in which I traveled, but still warm and able to do the same activities as any summer day. Watch out for the cannonball jellyfish though, got stung for the first time in waist deep water. Beautiful and clean beach.

Nice beach, lots of wind though. Clean and morning sunrise was gorgeous. Loved walking on beach and lots of different areas Togo directly to sidewalks.

I liked the area but the beach is somewhat problematic in my opinion. We stayed at a major ocean front resort but we were unable to use the umbrella that we brought because the entire strip in front of our resort condo is taken up by Myrtle Beach umbrellas and chairs that would cost hundreds over the course of a week. They have a very small space on each side of the Myrtle Beach umbrellas and there is not enough room to set up (too crowded) and the space is not level. We couldn’t set up in front of these umbrellas because they said the Lifeguards wouldn’t be able to see the entire shore. Give me a break! All they need to do is slide the lifeguard station about 20 feet closer to the water and it would be just as easy for them to see as it is now. In my opinion, their rules are just an excuse to force people to rent these umbrellas at a cost of $50 a day.

I went to the beach multiple times and it's very beautiful and clean there. We were able to sit there with beach chairs and enjoy the scenery and go to the water while going to the arcade close by. We had no problem getting there as the drive was very close by. We also went to the Boardwalk there and enjoyed the rides and shops, buying some souvenirs and clothing too. Overall, a very fun and relaxing experience, having been able to go to the beach and amusement rides that provided a very enjoyable experience.

Just vacationed in Myrtle Beach with my wife and kids and have to say it was an absolute disgrace of a vacation spot. The place has completely gone downhill and is completely unsafe for anyone not local to the area. The boulevard is littered with people clearly looking for prey, including a variety of homeless and drug addicts pondering about looking for people to rob or worse. I did NOT, I repeat DID NOT FEEL SAFE walking along the boardwalk at all! There is zero police presence among a clearly out of control environment. The only thing more offensive than being “duped” by all these “best vacation spots” paid adverts on the internet is the robot response by the town on this forum that completely ignores all the negative comments with yet an additional false advertisement that “myrtle beach is safe, clean and awesome!”. Just goes to show you that all the negative comments are entirely accurate. I’m suspecting we will get the auto response of “the busy strip might not be your speed”. Well, we stayed in North Myrtle beach which is supposed to be more “family friendly” and that was a dump as well. Main street filled with drunk white trash and other undesirables and it’s downright dirty and smelly. Not sure where all the revenues from unsuspecting vacationers goes to - it certainly doesn’t go to law enforcement or sanitation. Irrespective of whatever robot response addresses this post, just know that’s it’s complete crap to lure you to just give them more money so they can completely mismanage this filthy city. Stay away at all costs and go somewhere else until they start addressing these types of posts instead of ignoring them!

alot of abandon hotels , everybody is scamming trying to get over the timeshare people are all over not for adults

We had never been to the area before but were visiting for my daughter's gymnastics competition. We stayed at the Breakers hotel on the beach. It was very close to the conference center, so that was convenient but I have to be honest, the immediate surrounding area along the beach looks like a run down tourist trap. The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful but I would agree with other posts, there is definitely a seedy contingent and we were not comfortable walking far in the evening. I heard there are nicer, safer, beaches not too far away, I'd definitely opt for that next time.

Visited for 3 days Way too many people the food is terrible a waste of money the rooms are expensive some of the rides were not open

Myrtle beach was nice, no trash. White sandy beach, has no shells that cut up your feet. There were other families on the beach but not overly crowded (end of April and first week of May.) The weather was warm and at times felt very hot on the beach, you'll need an umbrella. The water was still freezing though. The beach down by the condo we rented near 74th and 75th streets ect was a lot quieter with hardly anyone around. Was nice and peaceful. Overall was a fun little mini trip. Lots of things to do in the area :)

Our first time in Myrtle beach. We really enjoyed it. We will be back. Other than the hotel rates being extremely high it was a nice getaway.

We had a great and affordable family vacation! The beaches were not too crowded, there were lots of family activities, and we found that our meals were relatively affordable. We will be back!

The beach is beautiful and it was so quiet and peaceful early in the morning. Beware of the resorts/ hotel tho..most on the beach are run down, dumpy and roach infested.

North Myrtle:
This is where all the convict dope boys wanna be gangster, and addicts vacation after they hit a lick on their dealer. The elevator was sprayed by a skunk and a diabetic person missed the trash can throwing their insulin needle away.
My daughter found a piece of straw on the beach, glass, and was scared of the “brown” water.
This place is depressing. I’ve been here not even 48 hours and I’m trying to get home ASAP, but there’s very few rental car options.

Loved the beach. The sand dunes were destroyed by the hurricane, but there were signs of rebuilding.

We have handicap parking but the private parking lots don't honor it. I put $20 in the machine and no receipt. I had to move to another lot. I may not go back to the beach there.

Waves were big and rough, but beach was clean. You can rent chairs and umbrellas for the day. See the picture for prices.

Quiet strolls beautiful sunsets and sunrises No crowds Weather not that bad in January Love the quiet atmosphere

We used to go th Myrtle Beach every year for 3 months. We stopped during Covid, and this was our first time back after 2 years. Stayed at Myrtle Beach Resort. Condo was nice, but facilities limited, and indoor pool was too cool for us to use.Vs9ted a number of our favourite restaurants, spent time with friends, and just had a rest. We were really surprised at the amount of traffic--it sure has changed to a busy place with heavy traffic. Weather was cool, but we had a number of nice days. It was about what we expected for February in Myrtle Beach.
We find the people in Myrtle Beach,(and other southern states) generally very friendly and helpful, always pleasant to chat with. Would go again.

We recently moved to a town just south of Myrtle Beach. We were shocked at how run down and dirty Myrtle Beach is. An absolute s**t hole. NOT for families.

Tons to do. Beach is awesome. Lots of great places to eat. Fun things to do. Laid back atmosphere. Will be back. Second time down

Great sandy beach
Beautiful picturesque houses around
Cool waves for bodyboarding
Super pleasant water temperature with gulf stream
Things to do nearby
The lazy gators store: great souvenirs gifts from the area
Murrells inlet super picturesque
Pelicans
Possible jet ski

Everything is slow this time of year. However they have neat events for the season and the lights on the boardwalk are pretty.

A super special walk, you fall in love with the city and its people who wait for you with outstanding human quality and professionals in the area of tourism.

Myrtle Beach exceeded all my expectations and provided the perfect backdrop for a memorable vacation. The combination of stunning natural beauty, exciting activities, and delicious food made it a trip to remember. I can't wait to return to Myrtle Beach for another unforgettable adventure!
Whether you're a family looking for a fun-filled getaway or a couple seeking a romantic retreat, I highly recommend Myrtle Beach as your next vacation destination.

Soooo horrible run away!!! So much garbage in the sand. I cut my foot on who knows what !!! Filthy place filthy side walks. People smoking pot , shady characters!!! All during the day.

It’s a beautiful beach, but it’s just shops. It’s a place for sunshine and surf. The boardwalk isn’t as long as I imagined.
Lots to do and spend money.

We visited in early March, when the local marathon was held. It was definitely off-season, which made it a very pleasant experience- uncrowded, pleasant temps and every franchise on the plant is represented here, with easy access to most of them; as well as lots of local merchants.
The beach is nice, well kept and clean, but not as wide as some, and there is a mix of sand and shell.
I would not venture here in the summer season, as it must be nearly impossible to navigate, park and fight the crowds. It is also difficult to reach via the main Highway (501), which is overcrowded and under construction.

The smell from the beach/ocean was so strong almost rotten seafood. The beach had broken shells at the entrance of the water line for a few feet so wear water shoes and prepare yourself for a strong odor and a intense saltiness

The beach umbrella and chair were perfect for that day at the beach we had so much fun. It started to rain but the umbrella came in handy.

The water temp was wonderful, it was clear, I could see fish. We found great shells and starfish. The waves were just mild. Warning lifeguards were not what I was expecting coming from the north here. We had the same lifeguard the entire week. He just left for lunch, no replacement. I couldn't see the next stand. They also rent the chairs & umbrellas. So they seem to be doing everything but lifeguarding, taking selfies with people taking pictures of other families. Just not use to that.

Stay away from the main boardwalk along the beach. Smells like weed everywhere you go and everyone is drunk at night. If we ever came again we’d probably pick a location a little further south of actual Myrtle Beach because it really is a tourist trap. We did the typical tourist stuff but after 3-4 days you’ll run out of things to do. The weather was really nice for an early April stay.

Myrtle Beach is my new favorite getaway. It just has everything and I cant think of any place that makes me happier.

I came to visit Myrtle Beach with my wife and it was the worst idea ever the beach is murky the sand is not pretty at all very nasty plus there were a bunch of saltwater crocodile on the beach the beach isn't safe there crocodile in the ocean close to where we set up our chairs and towels and Myrtle beach says it is safe to swim but someone was attacked last week they cleaned it up and said yall can resume getting in the ocean but there are crocs everywhere not safe at all be safe yall

I have not been back in years. Seems a lot more run down. COVID did not seem to help. Masks, what masks? In our 4 night trip saw police take down someone twice (once with multiple guns drawn) across the street from our cottage 2nd St N). Lots of homeless, addicts out after dark claiming their spot on the boardwalk. The beach seemed safer than the boardwalk pre 1 MAY. After 1 MAY more people showed up (it was the weekend) and the tourists then outnumbered the homeless. Myrtle beach is the 3rd most dangerous city in the US...wish I would have checked prior to coming here..

beautiful sunrises! first time back in 20 years. i enjoyed it as much as i did back in the day. great time!

Wow. I expected better. Chat, tacky, tourist trap. It didn’t help that the weather was too cold to spend time on the beach. The beach is lovely and we had a great view from our hotel. However, this town is overloaded with restaurants, T-shirt shops, mini golf, and tacky entertainment centers. If you are bringing kids who are easily bored, this is probably the place for you,

There’s almost no place to park for the boardwalk. The parking is owned by a private company who’s machines don’t work conveniently. Had to pay over $300 for a parking fine for 1hr of parking. It’s not worth it to go there anymore.

We loved visiting Myrtle Beach at this time when it is so quiet with very few people around. The beach is so nice and very easy to get to.

We didn't stray to very far from our motel to go north on the Grand Strand. This beach has been nicknamed "Murder Beach". Not the same beach as when I was a child. Crime rate is getting higher. Recommend to go in the off season.

It’s crowded. And very much like wisconsin Dells is in the Midwest. Crowded. Wax museums. Packed streets. Very hot. And a beach with a ton of people. Just ok.

We absolutely love Myrtle Beach. We come from the cold and it is perfect to come down in November and experience weather in the 70's.

Myrtle beach should do better. Most of the hotels are run down and unsafe. A grown man wanted to fight my granddaughter at the amusement park, can't walk down the street without men yelling from their cars. Definitely not the place for a family vacation. We will not be back!

Do a review of crime before you go. I was a victim of an assault and seems to be random. I had serious injuries and attacked just waiting on a Lyft. The police and accounts of video did not add up. Check google for all assaults there unsolved. People are scared of that area and FBI ranked in 3rd worst city in the world. Please from my injuries go to another area for vacation and do you research. I am late 30s never arrested, never hurt by another person and never feared anyone but God. Don’t go!

Even though I prefer quieter beaches, this litter-free beach is lovely. Beautiful sand, and miles of it. Lifeguards on duty.

We stayed at the Hilton Ocean 22. There were 2 lifeguards on duty most every day in front of our resort. There was one other lifeguard who filled in. The young man and young lady were absolutely wonderful. They stopped to talk to young children, agreed to be in pictures for some folks all the while watching carefully for any trouble for people in the water. We felt safe and really enjoyed these 2 young people.

Pick Myrtle Beach By the Boardwalk over North Myrtle Beach. Simply because there is more to do all along the boardwalk and the lodging properties are more up-to-date.

This beach is amazing. I enjoyed walking on it, laying on it, sitting on it, wading in the water, and just soaking up the beautiful sun. It's clean and safe. I enjoyed it.

It was a very good little vacation. I was able to face my fear of being out on a beach with my mobility problems walking on the sand and getting into the ocean! I did it! Got my tan, and boosted my confidence!

It was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and was shocked at how disgusting and ghetto Myrtle Beach is. Smell of weed everywhere, shady characters, strung out looking people, loud crap music coming from cars as well as the businesses, no law enforcement anywhere. Just an all around dump. Never again.

Have had this location on my bucket list for years. Finally came from Cali to visit and I regret every second. My husband and I couldn’t hear each other speak because driving your loud a$$ car down the strip while revving your exhaust the whole time is apparently the cool thing to do. I love nice muscle cars, but this was embarrassing for these kids. The half lifted cars were trash and sad. The boardwalk was eh. I think I got contact high a lot. It was crowded and ghetto as hell. I would never come there with kids. Save your time and money to go somewhere else. Myrtle Beach needs to clean their sh*t up.

Lots of theft in the area. Lock up your belongings IN your house not under it. Don’t leave anything outside unattended. My family and I had all of our YETI coolers stolen from a locked room under our rented beach house in Garden City. Police say bicycles, fishing rods, and Yeti’s are big targets. Don’t even try to use chains, thieves will cut them off per Horry County sheriff’s Dept. Register your YETI and engrave it and don’t let it out of your sight!
I’m hearing that even personal items on the beach are swiped while you swim in the ocean.

Enjoyed my family celebration. We stayed in a beach house for a week celebrating the life of my amazing cousin after her successful liver transplant. Waking up to the beautiful beach every morning was soothing. I did not want to leave.
Highly recommend!

Beach was never crowded, even on the nicest days. Each morning it was cleaned and raked, with plenty of room to spread out!

I think if you go to Myrtle between Memorial Day and Labor Day, it is not very appealing. I will tell you the reason why. There are way too many out of control teenagers not supervised by their parents hanging out at resorts and commercial establishments. There are just too many tourists all in one area, which is the grand strand. There is too much emphasis on commercialism and less focus on what's really important, which is the beach itself. However, you could never call Myrtle Beach boring. I believe there's thousands of things to do. Most of them require money. I mean, even the average putt putt place is charging around $13 to $16 for 18 holes. The average golf course with a cart is around $100 for 18 holes. The average show is around $55 a ticket like the Alabama Theater or Legends or my favorite the Carolina Opry. I mean, you can even take gambling ship out of Little River. There is also an old-fashioned Mark Twain river boat out of barefoot. You can do a dinner cruise down the famous Waccamaw River. The average price of crab legs all you can eat buffet also $50. Resorts are nice, but they average around $300 a night during the prime tourist season, which is Memorial Day through Labor Day. So bring your money to Myrtle Beach. You are definitely going to need it! The average tourist with a family of two kids spends at least 2000 for the week on a place to stay at, which is usually beachfront. And at least 1,000 or more dollars on food and entertainment as well as souvenirs.

Spent a glorious month checking out the sights and enjoying the beach. Must take a stroll in different sections of the beach. Definitely check out the different piers.

First time visit to MB and probably last. Area was larger than expected, depending on where you stayed, there could be parts hard to visit depending on your time. We stayed on Beach on south side by Airport. I would suggest to stay far from Boardwalk area when selecting where to stay. Overall a lot to do as far as tourism, beaches were just ok when comparing to Gulf coast, the water is much more murky. South Carolina has very friendly people, just wasnt our favorite place to visit.

This beach is one of our favorites! Just beach is only 2 1/2 hours from our home and my daughter absolutely loves the beach. The town in Myrtle Beach does a good job keeping the beach clean, the water is good and the sand is raked daily. There is plenty of parking available if you arrive at the reasonable time. There are too many activities to mention but the name a few miniature golf, zip lines, golf, lots of restaurants, and fishing, there’s something for everyone to do at Myrtle Beach. I highly recommend Myrtle Beach as a destination for any family vacation for individuals and couples.

No seagulls to be seen anywhere- only pelicans. Not overly crowded, lots of space and so much fun in the ocean!

Dunes Village Resort
The Starbucks in their was amazing
Thank you to shenika,Ashontae,Kolah & Gwyn
They were efficienct ,very nice and respectable

The Beach was in walking distance from room. Very quick access. The beach was not crowded. Everyone maintain social distance.

Myrtle beach is not a safe place to take your kids... there are multiple killings everyday . The local residents are hardcore drug dealers and murderers. Myrtle beach should be renamed to murder beach. I will never bring my child back. Daytona beach was peaceful. No violence. South Carolina is just a bad place to visit altogether. Please stay safe and dont risk your child or your family's life by going here. Also we got ripped off by hotels and stores and even the uber food delivery driver . This place is just like Harlem New York. Please stay safe people . God bless our country .

Wonderful condo at dunes village resort 4th floor looking right at the ocean. Our server at the Captain's Cafe in the palmetto towers was Traivena. She was so sweet and attentive to everything that we asked her for. Went out of her way to accommodate us with all requests for extra plates and condiments things like that it was such a pleasure to meet her. The food at the cafe was reasonably priced and extra large portions me and Mom actually ended up splitting a meal. Cameron Grandstaff went above and beyond expectations coming to the room twice to help us figure out how to use the remote for the TV. I would highly recommend the dunes village resort and will definitely be going back and looking forward to it.

Had a family get together in October (first time after the pandemic) and it was a wonderful time. We stayed in a lovely Airbnb that was in an ideal location close to shopping, restaurants, golf courses and some nice walking trails.
Visited the Boardwalk, (some nice bars, restaurants and a nice area on the beach to sit and enjoy the day). Also vistied the Aquarium, Ripleys, and did some shopping in the local malls. We onjoyed them all.
Definitely looking forward to another visit soon.

Clean beach, well taken care of city, TONS of family and friends of all ages fun!!! My family and I love coming here every couple of years!!!

Drug addicts and homeless people running the area. The city is dirty!!! Sure the ocean in beautiful...untill the homeless man decides to set up his home for the night next to you and your family. Walking distance to breakfast... unfortunately the streets are filled with the heroin addicts ending their night. The boardwalk is full of crazy homeless and drug addicts. Its mind blowing that nobody has ever mentioned this in all the years Ive heard about Myrtle Beach. Seriously...the city is gross and unsafe for family's.

We've never been here before and we are happy we went. We stayed at an Airbnb on the beach. It was not right near all of the attractions, which is good for us since we don't have small kids. The water was beautiful. The food was delicious. I suggest the free art museum for some local art. We enjoyed ourselves.

Our 3rd trip to Myrtle Beach, and it was perfect! Great weather, nice clean beaches and lifeguards that are awesome at their jobs! A lot of good restaurants to choose from and a lot of things for families

The beach was very nice. The town is mostly for families with shops, restaurants and entertainment. It's best if you stay within walking distance of the area since parking can be scarce and expensive.

We go to myrtle beach every October and its the best time to go. The beach isnt packed, there aren't huge crowds and almost every thing is still open to do. There is something for everyone in myrtle beach. From shopping, dining, hiking, golfing and many activities for kids.

I walked the beach daily and saw some amazing sunrises and sunsets. The beach is very clean and safe.

My husband love's the water, he loves to show you how silly he can be in the water. I am not sure if I like it as much as he does or not.

Lots to fun with as number of family friendly activities in MB. The weather in late June was mid 80s and the ocean was quite warm. Not crystal clear or blue water but it was clean as was the beach. Something everyone should be aware of is the exceedingly high crime rate in MB, the third highest in the country. That said, I didn’t feel unsafe at all the entire time I was there. We stayed on the northern end of the beach which is much quieter than the south, it’s also a little less walkable with less commercial activity but being comfortable and feeling safe were important for us. Make sure you Google where you are staying + crime before booking. Many of the hotels are older and there are very few true high end options available but Dunes Village is great if you have kids, multiple pools a water park and direct beach access. It’s definitely a louder, younger crowd further south and from what I understand, that’s where most of the problems are after 10pm. Broadway at the Beach, Family Kingdom Amusement Park and (depending on your budget and your personal feeling about interacting with exotic animals) Myrtle Beach Safari are musts.
Should have stayed local or traveled further
First . There are tons of thugs cruising the streets. Beach rules are worse than jersey. Why travel this far when you can have the same crap in the north east. If your going to travel this far might as well go to Florida. Only locals can have tents and ez upd on the beach not visitors I have seen it.Not worth it.
