Well worth the trip. My wife and I visited the caverns about 25 years ago for the first time. We were pleasantly surprised on this our second visit, to see how many improvements that have been made over the years. Lots of new things to see and do. It is a family friendly fun environment !!

The Discovery cavern is so beautiful. It has big column formations dated from centuries ago. From all the caverns that I have visited, I think these are the biggest and tickest formations of stalagmites and stalactites that I have seen. You enter one way and exit another. It’s slippery so it’s important to have good shoes and you should be able to go up a fly of stairs and there is a steep walk at the end.

Our two couples visited the Caverns right when they opened on a Saturday in May. We bought tickets in advance just to save time. Parking was plentiful and we waited inside with our group for the tour to start.
Our guide was great, wish I remembered her name. Our group was about 20 people with just a few kids. Two of our group had visited before, many years before, but they enjoyed discovering it again.
Our guide was great about stopping for people to rest on a bench and take photos. The formations, water pools, and just amazing open spaces were breathtaking. This is my third cave but it's the most developed. But I recommend Szemlo-Hyegi in Budapest and War Eagle in Arkansas.
There are some steep areas and everything is a bit slick. Handrails help but your guide makes sure not to go too fast.

The Discovery Tour is a bit pricey but the teens enjoyed it. The cave is full of some spectacular, picture-worthy sites. Coming out of the cave can be quite strenuous for the out-of-shape visitors. The highlight of the trip was the maze…a must add-on.

Warm in the caverns. Didn’t expect that. Very informative tour guide. Beautiful caverns. A workout. Not good for elderly folks out of shape. They give a military discount which was nice. Great gift shop. Enjoyed some Dip n Dots.

I took the Discovery tour with my husband and 11 year old son. It was very cool to see! There are some stairs, some narrow passages, and some very steep ramps, Your will get dripped on.
If you book your tickets online, you still need to stop at will call and pick up paper tickets. Be sure to read the instructions in the email.
I highly recommend this tour!

I have to say, that of all the cave tours I’ve been on this ranks right up there as one of the best. It’s also the most expensive at $40 for one tour. There is lots of stuff to do and see other than the caves, but isn’t that why you go? We had very nice and knowledgeable guide named Alec.

We did both the Discovery and Hidden Passages tour. Both were cool and had different things to see. I wish there was a way to coordinate the times for both. We pre-booked the Hidden Passages and checked in earlier (per the ticket) and still had to go on the Discovery Tour after. Makes for some down time and a long day. Otherwise a great time.

It is very good Cavern
You must do it. If you are not afraid of heights and can walk very good...You will get your exercise
For the The beauty it was the best Best Caverns you will ever see

Amazing wonders to be seen. Go and experience it, however, be advised there is quite a bit of walking and stair climbing. Wear proper shoes for wet and potentially slippery surfaces.

I took hidden passage walk, which was rather short. I was a bit surprised by the full electricity and concrete in all the place ☹ But the staff was very nice and helpful let me leave my bag there and booked my cab. The only person not super helpful was the girl selling tickets.

We had a great time. Bought tickets on arrival as school was back in session and there was no line. Got on the next main tour shortly after. We also booked the hidden secrets tour and had enough of a gap in between to have lunch and for it to settle. Each of the tours in 160 feet down and back so it is somewhat strenuous. The paths are well laid out and non slipping good shoes are needed. The guides seemed to enjoy what they were doing and were engaging with our group that made it more fun.

Amazing experience! Worth every single penny! Fun activity for children and adults! The place is gorgeous and very clean ❤️

The guide was amazing, let us ask questions and was very thorough with her explanations. I would recommend shoes due to how steep some areas can be. The place was just beautiful and you have plenty of lightning down there to see its beauty

Our family trip to the Nature Bridge Caverns was an amazing experience. I highly recommend visiting for anyone that has the opportunity. I purchased tickets for the Discovery Tour online. We were slightly late but the employee at the ticket counter was very helpful with having our tour time changed to the next available. The tour guide was very friendly and was very knowledgeable about the cave. He provided tons of educational information and was very patient with giving everyone on the tour time to take videos and photos. I was able to capture so many beautiful photos and videos. There are plenty of hand rails to assist with walking in the steep and wet areas on path. They take a photo for you that can be purchased for $26.99 at the end of the tour. We visited one of the two restaurants while we were there which offers hamburgers, cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, fries, grilled cheese, brisket, slushies, sodas, coffee, beer, wine, and popcorn. There are two stores to purchase a variety of different souvenirs. There is also a restaurant/sweet/ brew shop that offers, pizza, ice cream, sweets, and beer and wine. Every employee we encountered provided great customer service.

The tour of the cave is interesting, we go down to a magnificent place, the views are fantastic with beautiful gardens. Very interesting and a lot of learning

The grounds are extensive and all is very well maintained. The tour is informative and the cavern is beautiful. Be prepared to walk down 180 feet into the cavern and then the return trip up and out of the cavern. The tour is on a very good, non-slip concrete walkway with hand rails.

There were a lot of people on the tour, but there was hand sanitising and face masks were worn so it felt safe. The discovery walk was very accessible which was great as we had a four year old with us. There were some drops, but there was always a fence so I was not worried about my little boy (although we held his hand the whole time).
The walk goes down sometimes steeply and then there is a steep climb at the end. We were fine, but some people had to stop on the way up, but everyone was allowed, there was no rush. There is one flight of stairs up which was a little narrow at times, so a couple with a pram struggled with that part.
The caverns were beautiful and well worth it. On the surface there were some fun activities. We did the ‘panning for fossils’ with our 4 year old which he loved.
Great day out. Older kids would love the zip wire stuff I am sure.

Are far as caverns go its pretty and family friendly. There was lots to do for kids who might not find the caverns fun. A maze and a zip line climbing tower. I went on 2 of the 3 offered tours. The Discovery tour is the easiest and longest. Only issue was it was a little rushed, they seemed to be starting a tour group every 10 minutes. The other was the Hidden Passages tour. Distance wise it was shorter but right now it is one way in and out but the are working on adding an exit to the far end. Well worth the visit if you like caverns and have kids

I loved this little adventure! Nice way to spend an hour. Takes you down 180ft and then back up. Amazing formations under ground. This was worth the price in my opinion.

I have never visited a place like this before in my life and was very impressed. We did the combo tour which includes the Hidden Passages and Discovery Tour. The Hidden Passages was a smaller cavern with amazing formations, it was tighter but you were closer to everything and you were in a smaller group. You were on steps all the way down and then you have to backtrack out. The Discovery Tour took you to amazing huge caverns but you were farther from the formations and are in a larger group of people. It was an easier walk on a sloped path and one way. I found the Discover Tour had too many people and if you were not close to the guide you could not hear the commentary. Overall super cool and I would recommend visiting.

We did the Discovery Tour through the caverns and can only recommend this to anyone who wants to see something exceptional and maybe learn a thing or two about how these caverns formed.
Definitely worth a visit.

They have two tours: discovery and hidden passages. If you have to choose one of them choose the “DISCOVERY TOUR”
That cavern is huge, sumptuous and impressive. Loved it
Hidden passages is quite small and tour is pretty quick.
I got my tickets online and spent $56 plus taxes for both tours.
Place is well-kept and beautiful!
They have lots of employees to guarantee every guest is safe and happy. Everyone was extremely helpful.
I thought that souvenirs and food were too pricey so that’s actually my only negative point.
Besides that, everything is perfect!
They’re very organized and professional!

I recommend anyone that’s remotely interested when reading this actually go and do both tours. We booked the hidden wonders and the discovery tour combo ticket. We did the hidden wonders tour first with Sam. She was very informative and friendly and the tour was excellent. We then did the discovery tourwith Leonard. He was also very informative and friendly and let me tell you the second tour really blew us away. Just be aware the discovery tour has some strenuous walking going back up and it is wet and slippery in some parts. But it was definitely worth the cost of the tickets.

We booked the Discovery Adventure Tour and Riley and Caley were our guides and they were great! The experience was exhilarating and you will get muddy! The adventure takes you a little out of your comfort zone, but it makes you feel alive!

Great tour with lots of interesting formations. There is a fair amount of up and down walking, but nothing too strenuous for an average person. Our guide was good and the tour was informative about the history and formations in the cavern. Overall, worth a visit.

I did some photography in this cavern a number of years ago and it was fabulous. Like many caves all of them have unique characteristics. This one is no exception and it is certainly worth a visit!

The discovery cavern tour was great. The guide did a great job lighting up the features, explaining the geology and keeping the group engaged.
For a Monday morning in December, the tour group seemed really large.

The adventure tours are amazing! We had previously done both the regular tours and decided to try the adventure ones. They are longer and more physical, but well worth the effort and money. Our guide, Kiana, was fantastic. Tyler was in tour guide training and was also very nice and knowledgeable. We loved both tours. The discovery adventure tour was more muddy and physically challenging, but awesome. Kiana was impressive with her instructions on how to navigate the obstacles within the caves, plus she can answer any question on the caves.

Visited on a weekday morning 9am couple weeks with 3 children. Great time to go due to heat and crowds. Wasn’t expecting caverns to be as great as other famous ones, but they were VERY impressive!!!! Great guide, lighting, different areas, etc. Highly recommend!!!!!

This was something I never wanted to do, but glad I did. Very interesting tour, beautiful natural formations. Was a great experience. We also did the climbing and mini zipline thing. That's 2 more things off my bucket list. Great for kids of all Ages

We did the Hidden Wonders tour first and it was a great and with a history of rock and geological love in my family a must do while in San Antonio. The tour was great but you need to know that the decent into the caverns can be a little slippery and stability may be a small issue. There are handrail which was a huge plus. Exiting the cavern was tricky. They installed a moving walkway that is about 2' wide. It moves at an incline with no handrails and it's about 180' to the top to exit. You can walk up and out as well but you need to be in shape and have stamina. I was worried about my 80 year old husband who was behind me as there was nothing to hold on to.

Worth a visit to the caverns, also other attractions onsite. We were between hotels, traveling from San Antonio to Fredericksburg, and knew we had to kill some time. I found the caverns website and thought that would be different. The tour does take about an hour, and some parts of the walking path are steep, but not slippery. The temperature is 70º F , but don't bring a jacket since the humidity is so high. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. We took lots of fab pictures inside caverns. Have fun!

We went on the Natural Wonders tour which was very interesting. Lots of good information and cool sites to see in the caves. Wear good shoes as the walkways are often wet and go up or down. Handrails in most but not all situations. Kids on our tour had a lot of fun.

Really fun outing for families or friends! Stacy was our guide, she was so funny and knowledgeable! Reccomend scheduling last tour of the day (if you can) as it offered a more relaxed experience since there was no group waiting behind us!

This spotless facility is very well run and well worth the trip. They offer a variety of entertainment packages, and tickets are cheaper if purchased ahead of time. They do offer military discounts, but you may need assistance getting it if buying tickets online. Plenty of free parking. Tickets are for specific times and if you're late, you may be out of luck. The trip through the caverns is well worthwhile. Make sure you wear comfortable rubber-souled shoes. The cavern tours are open regardless of weather. The outside entertainment will likely shut down for inclement weather. Easy to get there from Highway 281 or I35. Some fun things in the gift shop.

We purchased tickets weeks in advance for the Discover tour so paid $24.25 each (w/o taxes/fees) for the 1 hour tour. At that price it gets 4 stars. We went on a Tuesday at 1pm and once the 2 bus loads of middle school students left around 12:30pm, the place was not crowded at all. We had about 20 people in our tour and our guide Luke did a good job. The pictures on the website give you a great idea of what you will see but it is more spectacular in person. They do a great job of making it a bit of a “show” with the lighting. The Discovery tour is easy to navigate if you do NOT have mobility problems. The path is paved with traction but it can get a bit steep for those not used to walking up stairs/hills. Wear good walking shoes with rubber soles; don’t recommend sandals or flip flops. You can bring your own food to eat outside the building/tour on picnic tables and we recommend it. The food there is way over priced ($23 for 2 sub-par sandwiches & 1 order of fries) and we had to wait 20 min for our food.

My friends were visiting from out of state and I wanted to do something very special with them. Since one of my friends and I enjoy photography I booked us the photography tour. Celeste, our tour guide lead the three of us. It was a unique experience as the cavern is truly stunning. They have done an amazing job with the lighting to really show off the beauty. The formations are spectacular and we kept seeing various shapes.
Celeste was a fantastic guide. She was a wealth of information, answered questions, allowed us to take our time setting up our cameras, and was just over all a lovely, personalable, and very experienced guide.
It was really worth it to us to book the photography tour as it was just the three of us, plus Celeste. We were able to take in the sights at our pace, to be able to interact with Celeste. There were two groups that passed us, one had to have had fifty people, and I cannot imagine they would have gotten as much out of the tour as we did.
Although we did not participate in any of the above ground activities it looked like there was some fun activities going on.

This place has some fantastic rooms with all types of formations. Discovery tour takes about 70 minutes. Fairly steep n places so wear good shoes.

So worth it. We did both large caverns. Fortunately, no one damaged these glorious caverns so you'll see loads of soda straws, columns, stalactites, and stalagmites. Fine tour guides. Be sure you're in pretty good shape as there's no easy way back up.

Both cavern tours and the Twisted Trails! 2 thumbs way up from the teens and their almost 40 year old mom. Highly recommend!
We met Blake the first day. He was accommodating and helpful in very rainy weather. We ran into him again when we tried the Bat Flight the night of the 5th. He was incredibly disappointed that it was canceled for flash flooding. Us too Blake!
The next day Cayla was our tour guide for Hidden Passages and we heard the drills break through for the exit tunnel their building. So cool!

When we were little my sister and I, our parents took us and it was an awesome experience. Would love to go now as an adult but unfortunately with my disability it works be very difficult for me to walk that much, then the going back up would kill me. But i do recommend that parents take their kids. It's an enchanting experience.

Love the caverns and was our second time going there. We did not have time to visit both caverns tours. But next time will do it. There is a lot of people so plan ahead all you want to do.

A superb family day out ! It exceeded everyone’s expectations. The park is immaculate, clean, safe and is well sign posted with extensive f&b options. The Caves tour is a must. Our guide was very knowledgeable and approachable. The Caves themselves were truely special. Our son also enjoyed panning for gems. We also met the GM Terri who was extremely gracious with her time. A must do day out if you’re visiting the region.

This was one of the most beautiful caverns we have been to. The tour guide was patient and knowledgeable. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is the tour group size was way too big. We also did the Twisted Trails ropes course and our entire family enjoyed it.

We chose to do both tours and were very happy that we did! Each cave is absolutely stunning and has a unique personality! Both have a wide variety of formations and are beautiful in their own right! We loved the way the tour path takes you up close and personal and that you have ample time to fully appreciate each area. Both guides were very personable and knowledgeable. These caves were by far the best I've ever experienced and so is their popcorn from the snack bar! I seriously considered asking my husband to drive back by to get more.

This cave is not perhaps the most spectacular, or the largest - but we had good time seeing the various large rooms, enjoyed the tour with a friendly guide, and were impressed by the shops and other set up outside the cave. The cave has been modified to allow easy access in and out of the several large rooms on the tour. Next time I go back, I'd like to go on the more in depth tours into the less developed parts. This is a great activity on a hot San Antonio day.

Not all clocks at gathering point have the correct time. It was over 90 degees; why weren't the fans on. Did not appreciate having to wait at the mouth of the cave so you can make money with pictures. At least give those that don't a picture not have to wait to have one taken. Then your staff won't complain out loud about people walking by when they're trying to sell it to us at the end. I'm glad I was never at the end of the group. Often the information the tour guide gave could barely be heard by the middle of the group, and I know the end of the group didn't hear it. Overall, I think the group size was too large. Consider using laser pointers so that is easily seen what the guide is pointing to. Shining a flashlight on already lit cave parts is frustrating to those trying to figure out what they were pointing to. Or possibly dim the light so that the flashlight can more easily be seen. We've been in lots of caves, and was looking forward to this one. The cave is very interesting. I'm sorry that we were disappointed.

The caves themselves were breathtaking, genuinely amazing to look at. They’re huge and the lights show every detail. However I wouldn’t pay $32 a person for a 1 hour tour which felt very rushed.
We were directed by reception to the wrong area at the start, so even though we were on time, the tour guide kept making digs that we were ‘late’. My mum joined us who can’t walk very fast, and the tour guide kept telling us to hurry up and ‘stick with the group’, but I didn’t want her to slip and hurt herself as the ground is very wet.
Not much after the tour besides a gift shop and expensive food place. There was a sky trail climbing thing, but it was additional cost so we didn’t bother.
Overall, I would recommend visiting once but it isn’t a return visit sort of place.

This was a great place to visit and cool off from the TX heat! My son that is station at Lackland AFB and I went on a Friday afternoon.

Enjoyed the caverns very much. Just wished I had paid attention that the caverns get hot and humid! No strollers should be allowed here. 2 families brought strollers. Last part of tour was a strenuous climb on a steep winding ramp for this overweight and out of shape woman, but I made it.

The Discovery tour has fantastic formations in large rooms. Tour guides were great, guide on Hidden Passages went into a lot more detail and history which was fine because you may not want to hear all of that twice. The Hidden Passages tour is smaller and more intimate. I think they book you on Hidden Passages first if you buy the combo tour so you won’t be let down after the Discovery tour. Skip the rest of the place unless you have small children and lots of cash burning a hole through your pocket.

We did the combo tour of the Hidden Wonders and Discovery tour. They went to entirely different parts of the cave and covered entirely different things. They even have separate entrances and exits - it's like we were in two different caves! We are very glad we did both!! The entire enterprise is well done. Two different giftshops, eateries, surface activities, and more! It's more warm/humid than Carlsbad or Mammoth, but it was still really nice for hot Texas.

Pictures does this place no justice. Go see this yourself in person! It’s unbelievable and so cool to visit. Be prepared to climb uphill too, but you can take breaks. The tour guide was knowledgeable. Worth the 35 mins trip from downtown.

OMG, This cavern was AMAZING! period. The views were so historical and cool! Very cool history and more! And the tour guide David was amazing too! He was so nice very informative speeches and he would be happy to answer your questions! If your ever here just let you… Have a very amazing experience just like I did!

Well run, very informative. Plenty of staff, educational, great family trip. Moderate physical ability suggested for the steep ramps going down to the bottom and back up again.

This was such a neat experience! The walking tour was very informative and the scenery so cool! So much to look at with the stalagmites and stalagtites! We are not in the best of shape and was able to tackle the Discovery tour with no problems. If you struggle with inclines, it may not be for you.

The property has so much than just the cave- which is great unto itself. Staff is very friendly and there's enough to do to spend easily all day there.

The tour itself lasted about 45 minutes; went as a group of 20 and at each stop was a tour guide who gave a 3-4 minute (informative) speech about that particular area. Not too difficult but due to the wet surface, decline/incline, and steps, I would highly recommend good sole shoes. Stays at a constant 70 degree/humid temps year round. Kids also enjoyed the area of a couple shops and obstacle course (my kids stayed on it for about an hour).

It was pretty cool. They are guided tours and about an hour and a half each. I'm not sure the caves are for young kids. But they do have things to do with children on the property.

Such a neat hidden gem on the outskirts of the city. Our tour guide was informative (although she got easily annoyed with the entire group if we didn’t line up properly.) The discovery tour was awesome. Would recommend!

I never been to San Antonio, but my wife and I decided to go on a get away destination. This trip was refreshing, fun, exciting, a must get done out the get away bucket list. I highly recommend to anyone.

My husband and I REALLY wanted to do the caverns natural bridge discovery in April, but due to poor quality website and bad customer service via chat, we will not be going. I even tried calling the phone number, but nobody picks up. Sad. But we'll just move on. Many other sites to see.

We were really impressed with the cavern visit. We did the popular "Discovery" trip. We got there for the 9:10 tour and that worked out well because the crowds were much larger when we were done. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the caverns and their history, which made it interesting. There were so many different types of formations to see! Well worth it. The pathway and extensive lighting system they have put in really completes the experience. The walk was described as strenuous but anyone who can walk a couple of miles should be fine. The pathway was steep and wet at times, so definitely bring good footwear.

As a couple, we took a trip to the Natural Bridge Caverns comprised of Texas Cave trails with indescribable beauty of discovery below your walking feet of inquisitive subterranean showcases. We experienced both Cave trails package deals with private tour guides. We took many photos of diverse sites. I do recommend this Texas Cave Trail with family and friends. Also, much walking, many steps within the cavern, and inclines. The grand finale for us was in the Discovery Cavern tour of the ballroom with lights plus the beautiful cavern view synchronized with music and diverse lights. Wow!!

Very much enjoyed the canvern tour. The guide, Elizabeth, was very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. It was interesting see a cave completely made of calcite compared to others we have visited.

The cave was a very fun experience. Our guide was personable, knowledgeable and fun. Great day full of visual stimulation.

This was such a surprisingly beautiful adventure. It was my first time touring a cave and it was so perfectly organized there’s different guides stationed through out the tour check points in the cave that inform you of all the history and elements of the cavern . Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers . My husband and I loved it !s

We did the Discovery Tour of the Natural Bridge Cavern and was not let down! This was hands down the BEST cave I’ve ever been to and I’ve been to ones in Colorado, West Virginia, and South Dakota. Not only was our tour guide funny and knowledgeable but the cave itself was spectacular and definitely worth both the walk and the money! I got so many amazing pictures and this experience I will remember for a lifetime! They also have a nice snack and gift shop as well as a maze and zip lining features for people of all ages to enjoy! If you’re in San Antonio area this is a MUST SEE attraction!!!! Highly recommend!

We booked a Discovery Tour for 9:15 a.m. Upon arrival, we found a very helpful woman directing people and grooming the line. Our tour group was comprised of about 25 people, which was a reasonable size. We enjoyed the extraordinary sculptural forms and the vastness of some of the “rooms” we walked through. The guides were friendly and seemed knowledgeable, but the tour did seem slightly rushed at a couple of points. The highlight of our visit was, unexpectedly, the ropes course and zip lines. We decided to try it on a whim and were happy we did. It was great fun to play on a sort of giant size jungle gym! We didn’t have to wait in line, but we noticed that a long line had formed by the time we exited the course. As with most activities, earlier seems better. The prices were fairly high for the experience, but we did enjoy ourselves immensely.

These caverns are pretty cool. The drive from San Antonio is short30-45) minutes. Besides de Caverns, there are other amenities for the kids to do. Definitely recommend us you are in the area. There are many steep areas, so being able to walk comfortable is a must.

One of the more impressive caverns that we've been to. One nice thing about the tour was that it was one-way, so you kept going in one direction, coming out a different way than you went in. You walk pretty deep into the cavern, so it's not for the faint of heart. We're pretty healthy and fit, and we were panting and tired by the time we got out.
Tour guide was a bit older and grouchy. One member of our party had a knee injury, so she walked a little slower. Guide seemed irritated that she had to wait for her to hobble to the entrance. Often started her talk before we all arrived (and not because of us, since we were often in the front).
Rope course in the back was pretty fun. A little tricky at first, but once you got used to it, it was pretty fun.

It’s really slippery and steep, so wear appropriate shoes. It was a sight to see the columns and other formations in the cave. This was my time inside of a cave.

This was an amazing place to check out. Beautiful rock formations! The guide was knowledgeable. It’s not for people who can’t climb the stairs. The whole cave system is about 180 feet under ground.

A fantastic and super different tour. The highlight of my trip to SAN Antonio, Texas. I opted for the basic tour (DISCOVERY TOUR) and it cost in Dec. 2024 - $27.50 per adult.
The tour takes an average of 1:30 hours. The route is a little dark and quite damp. Go with comfortable shoes. The tour may not be suitable for elderly people or people with limited mobility.
A guide accompanies us and tells us the history of the place. The guide who accompanied my group spoke too quickly, which I find particularly inappropriate in a tourist environment.
The place is open for this type of tour from 10:00 to 16:00. On site there is a souvenir shop and attractions for children and teenagers for an additional fee (TWIST), a ropes type attraction.

Day trip to NB Caverns on a Wed. The overall experience there was great. Booked both a Twisted Trails and the Discovery tour online, total cost for 3 adults, approx $180. Online, the price for the cave was $26.25x3, but at the gate, it was approx $50. The Twisted Trails cost: $26.99x3. If you're military, try ITT center, it might be better. On their FAQ's pg, it states there's a 10% military discount (at the gate only not online), but the online price is, obviously, way better. Also, if you're visiting San Antonio & and you're doing the Rio San Antonio River Cruises, they have discounted deals for the Caverns, too. Not sure how good they are, but might be worth a try if you're in the area.
Had loads of fun a Ben, our cave tour guide was great and knowledge. The food prices were set to be expected. Bonus, they serve canned beer and wine. And you have to try their lemonade, it was fantastic and refreshing. Spent about 40 bucks for 2 beers, 1 wine, bag of popcorn, 3 lemonades. I know, a bit pricey but when on holiday... Hope this helps, you can really spend a good day there full of activities.

If you have never been to natural caverns this is kind of cool. The discovery tour is a bit longer but the Hidden Wonders is slower and shorter. They have the adventure park and Maze for the kids so is a way to spend an afternoon. To make things better they have a moving walkway (BAT) to get out of the tunnel so no stairs.

I found the Natural Bridge Caverns while researching for things to do in San Antonio while on a business trip for two weeks, and it was totally worth it. The weather in the Texas hill country was a bit cooler than San Antonio city center, but the 99% humidity made it a damp experience. The stalactites, stalagmite, and flowstone formations were beautiful, more so in the Discovery Passages tour than the Hidden Passages. But since you're there already, might as well sign up for both. It's best to purchase your ticket(s) ahead of time as the prices can fluctuate and it does get more crowded later in the day. Be aware that there are a lot of stairs and inclines (deepest section is 180 feet down) and surface is wet and slippery so good footwear is recommended.

This is a beautiful walk which is peaceful and not strenuous. The Park Rangers are very helpful and will give directions to more trails if this is what you want after seeing this natural wonder that Jefferson purchased and had in his family until his death. Very safe walk and if traveling slone—you will be fine.

As mentioned by other reviewers it does have an initial tourist trap feel but the caverns and grounds are very nice and very well kept. Also, our tour guide wasn't really into it and wasn't the most knowledgeable. We probably had the lesser one. Finally, they are highly organized though and I do recommend checking it out.

There are many tours available at the caverns, and I went with the Hidden Passages Tour, which was great! The tour guide (Sarah) was fun and friendly. The tour guide goes through the history of the caverns and details how most of the formations were created. The tour lasts about 1 hour and goes down about 180 stairs. I had a great time!

We booked a tour in advance on Groupon to save some money. Our tour was for a Tuesday at 1:00. We arrived at 12:00 because we miscalculated how long it would take us to check out of our hotel that morning and how long it would take to get there. Upon arriving, I detected the sound of Christian rock music blaring from the speakers outside as we walked in (later, our tour guide mentioned that the place is owned by a Christian group or family or something...). I walked up to the counter, presented my Groupon, and asked if we could get in on an earlier tour at 12:20 (they run every 20 minutes). I was told "no, the time is the time." I asked again because I didn't understand what the big deal was. She said no again. Well, wow, that is NOT very Christian now is it?! The craziest thing is that the 12:20 group that we saw leaving for the tour was VERY small so we could've easily fit in whereas our 1:00 group was somewhat large. So, it definitely made no sense at all. We then had to sit around an wait for an entire hour....literally, we just sat outside in the shade doing absolutely nothing. This was aggravating and already set our mood for the day. In fact, had it not been for that employee's lack of customer service and refusing to accommodate a polite request for no apparent reason, I would have rated this experience as "very good" but they get one star/point less for that. Our tour guide was extremely young (maybe college age if that) and seemed somewhat inexperienced because there were some basic questions for which he did not know the answer. Otherwise, overall, the caverns tour itself and the sights we saw were cool. We are glad we did it but wish we had a better customer service experience and more experienced tour guide.

My gf and I participated in the standard tour and were not disappointed. I’ve been in several caves in my lifetime but this one was the best based on sheer size and the large number of formations. There is some very steep climbing at points up an inclined blacktop trail so be sure and wear grippy shoes and as the temperature underground was around 70 there was no need to wear a jacket but you will get dripped on. Highly recommended tour!

We decided to give the Natural Bridge Caverns a try while in the San Antonio area in February 2023. We were expecting a full on tourist trap, but were actually pleasantly surprised with our cavern tour. The billboard are obnoxious and even as you drive up to the caverns and are met with a fork between caverns and an animal park, we were still thinking tourist trap. Then we got to the massive parking lot, again we were thinking tourist trap. We bought our ticket and were able to jump on a tour that was leaving in 5 minutes. After we got into the cavern and past the obligatory tourist trap photo, we were wowed! The tour was fantastic! The caverns were amazing! There was so much to take in. The explanations from our guide were great and the pace of the tour was just right. The cavern tour lasted an hour. There is a zipline/climbing structure thing...which I think if you had children along I'm not sure how you could get out of there without paying for that as well - haha! The cave tour was just enough for us two adults. Just know that the caverns are warm around 75 degrees and humid. You will walk through some puddles of water and likely will get dripped on from the cave as well, so don't wear your favorite shoes and outfit.

I did both tours, the discovery and the hidden path. Both are amazing and would wow you in different ways. Absolutely worth visiting.

Our guide was Donna and she was very informative. The cavern temp was 70 degrees with 99% humidity. It can be a very strenuous hike through the cavern, but well worth it. You will be soaked from the humidity when you emerge. Glad my wife (70) and I (71) did it!

Nice cave! We have been to a number of caves and this one has some formations that are unique and worth checking out even if you have been to other caves. If you haven't been to any, then definitely check it out. They are very cool!

I absolutely loved my experience! The Hidden Wonders Tour was beautiful and riding the B.A.T. out of the cave was pretty cool. The tour guide on our tour was very personable and knowledgeable. The maze is also a great place to bond with friends and family while trying to find the objects and navigate out. I went on a Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't overly crowded. The total experience was unforgettable.

The tour is nice and tour guide was good. Pretty cave, sales rep at their 3 shops are not very tourist friendly or helpful.

Really cool experience! Had small children 5&3 with us and it was difficult at times for them. There are some really steep hill.

Tour guide was amazing and knew his stuff. The sites were amazing and went at a good pace. Would highly recommend. A lot more to do there if you have younger kids.

Discovered in 1960 by four college students, the Natural Bridge Caverns are the largest known commercial caverns in Texas. The name is derived from the 60-foot natural limestone slab bridge that spans the amphitheater setting of the cavern's entrance, which was left suspended when a sinkhole collapsed below it. Located at 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Road, near San Antonio, in the Texas Hill Country adjacent to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch, the caverns feature several unique speleothems and other geological formations. During excavation of the entrance trail, a human tooth, arrowheads and spearheads dating from 5,000 BC were found, evidence that the area was used as a shelter for early peoples at some point in history. Also a jawbone and a femur from an extinct species of black bear were discovered. Interestingly, the temperature inside the cave is 70 degrees year-round and the humidity is a constant 99 percent. The deepest part of the public tour is 250 feet below the surface. Explore from the first room in the cave, Pluto's Anteroom, then visit Sherwood Forest, Purgatory Creek, Castle of the White Giants and Grendel's Canyon, which leads to the deepest point in the cave. Stairs lead to the Hall of the Mountain Kings, a huge dome, the floor of which is covered with flowstone, stalagmites, columns and fried eggs. But there is so much more to discover. Since 2019, a team of cave explorers has discovered over 1,600 feet of new never-before-seen passages, so deep in fact that it takes more than 19 hours to complete the most recent expeditions as they probe deeper into the cavern. Natural Bridge Caverns were designated a National Natural Landmark in 1971 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2004.

We did this tour to get out of the cold because it is 70 degrees underground! We were impressed! Tip - If you want to hear all the details about the cave and formations stay close to your tour guide so you can hear, especially in the larger rooms. (Recommendation to the guides is to repeat the information in each room after the slower walkers and those taking their time get to each stopping point.) Otherwise, we were pleased with the tour. The grounds are very well kept. Our tour guide was very good (except for not being able to hear if not up front and in the larger rooms, but think it is the nature of the cave, not the guide per se). We were not rushed. We thought this was the best cave tour we have done because there is a variety of natural formations in excellent condition and lots of them. it is impressive! Parking is free, there is a snack bar, restrooms, and a gift shop. There are also other activities such as a ropes/zip line course, but we only did the cave tour.

They have 2 tours of 2 different caverns. Spend the money and do both, it’s worth it. The underground is unbelievable!! Both caverns offer something different, One is deeper so if your out of shape be careful. Almost 200 steps to the bottom which is equivalent to a 20 story building. Both tours take a total of 3-4 hours so give yourself enough time. I’ve never seen caverns this impressive

Found this on Tripadvisor as we prepared for a a quick getaway in San Antonio. Really enjoyable outing. Great family spot. The “Adventure” cavern excursion was very enjoyable. About a 180 foot decent below ground. Spectacular formations in various rooms in the cave. Temp in cave about 70’, a bit humid so you’ll work up a sweat. Footing is good on the paved pathways. But wet as one would expect so wear rubber soled shoes. Exercusion level moderate, especially on ascent back to surface. Adventure tour has good head room and we did not get any sense of feeling ‘closed in’. Several other activities available for family fun as well on site.

We only went into one of the caverns as I have issues walking sometimes. So we chose the easiest. Temperature ranges from 70 to low 80's and the humidity is 99%! They have railings almost all of the way thru the caverns. There are beautiful formations throughout which makes it worth the trip. It is about 3/4 of a mile long and goes almost 200 feet deep. Coming back up is a very steep climb and I was out of breath by the time we got back up.
Words of warning. If you have mobility issues, health issues of any kind, etc., do not go in. This is steep, narrow and low headroom and if you pass out or have a health crisis during the walk, they will have a hard time getting you out.
For the rest of you, please do go. It's well worth it!

Our family is no stranger to caves. We often visit a cave in any new place we visit, if there are caves available. We live about a half hour away from Cave of the Mounds in Wisconsin, and have visited many times and know all the formations. We've been to Wind Cave national park, Jewel Cave, and a bunch of other caves around Wisconsin and Minnesota. I say all that to say this was the BEST cave we've ever visited. We were blown away. Let's just say everything really IS bigger in Texas!

This was beautiful. Well worth the trip. It is a bit strenuous, so keep that in mind. Not for those who can't walk up elevations. So glad we took the time to go.

Went here on a girls trip and it was beautiful!! Kayla was our guide she was personable and knowledgeable. She answered the questions presented to her. She was even kind enough to let us take our time to take photos at the end of the tour. I would highly recommend this tour!

we loved going down into the caverns! AMAZING! Even the kids (16 and 11! They also loved sifting the sand in the water panning for treasure! They also liked doing the zip rail!!

We had a wonderful time and we were very impressed with everything there especially the workers great Job and excellent customer service

Great tour of natural caverns. Well-paved trail and informed guide(s). The path was challenging at a few points, primarily on the ascent back to the surface, but manageable for our five and seven-year-olds (as well as grandma). Worth a look

Practical tips-the zip line course is for one hour. This goes fast with young kids. We started with this event when they opened at 10am so that it wasn’t as crowded. From there we got in the line to purchase cave tickets…but the line was super long. We went to the patio and there was one staff member selling online tickets, luckily she was able to sell to us and we could join the next cave tour at 11:48. Since the cave is another hour, our kids were pretty hangry. We decided to skip the rest of the attractions, just didn’t seem worth it to cram in more with us all needing to refuel. There is concession food, but we chose to leave the property, one can only tolerate so much pizza and hot dogs.
We had a great time. The cave was one of the most beautiful I have ever toured. It’s massive. It’s got a lot of unexpected surprises that we weren’t aware of beforehand. Definitely recommend.
The zip line course was really fun, our 4 and 6 year old were very hesitant and actually cried and refused to do any of the crossings, until a really kind staff member offered to help guide them each across. They wanted no help from me, but did amazing with the staff member. I am so thankful for her help, this allowed our family to really get the best experience, she was like our personal guide and I was extremely impressed with her patience and professionalism. Promote this girl, she is outstanding customer service!

My son and I went on the "regular" tour. The 45 minute tour was good. A lot of nice formations to see. Don't worry about the physical effort required, it's not bad.

This is a nice place to visit on a weekend with your family. Couple of recommendations though, if you're military you can get a discount, but only when buying tickets on site. Also, it's HOT in the caverns and it's challenging walking. Wear good gripping shoes, and if it's cold outside, dress in layers. You want to be in t-shirts and shorts for this workout. We were so hot and sweaty by the end of it that we drank two bottles of water instantly and could've kept going! The price for this is kind of high considering you are doing an awful lot of work yourself to see the inside. There's a path but after a good rain it's got water nonstop running down it and it becomes very slippery. You are encouraged to use the hand rails but there's not one hand sanitizer station anywhere. If you aren't in great shape, this is not the type of activity you want to be doing anyway. Also, kids just run all over and it seems their parents just let them even though they are tripping adults who are trying to hang on to keep from slipping. This may be an assessment on parenting these days, but it is a real concern especially for those with mobility issues and no employee tells the parents to make their kids stop so they are basically a constant tripping hazard. This would be an awesome experience if they had installed electric train cars to pull people through while we listened to the guide. Worrying about where you're walking when it's slick and dark doesn't leave a lot of opportunities to look around at the amazing formations in this cave. This would also prevent the kids from running around under elderly people's feet. There's plenty more to do outside after viewing the caverns and for that reason I think this was definitely worth it. The gift shops are extremely overpriced but it's nice to look at some of the unique things they have. They have good and snacks and playgrounds for kids. There's also fall type activities going on there now. Overall, it was a great experience and the cavern is obviously taken great care of. Just watch out for those little kids underfoot!

I have toured caverns all across the United States and this “wet” cavern is among the best with both typical formations and some very unusual clusters. The walkways and lightning were all well designed and maintained. While it is cooler inside than outside in summer, it has 100% humidity with a few steep walkways which can impact some with health issues.

Absolutely worth visiting these amazing caverns!
The Discovery tour was amazing. Everything is well arranged.

It was amazing. Well worth the stop. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. There were only 5 of us on this tour, which was fantastic. If this had been a larger group I'm not sure how much of the caves we would of seen

Absolutely breathtaking. We paid $22 per adult and it was worth every penny. Guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Highly recommend.

We loved this tour. It was a great experience. Twisted Trails is also located there and I highly recommend it if you are not afraid of heights. We had a blast.

We really enjoyed the tour. Our tour guy was very knowledgeable and fun. He did an amazing job. I recommend it but I would caution families with small children to ask questions.

My college age daughter and I actually took the Combo Tour (the Discovery tour and the Hidden Wonders tour) and definitely enjoyed the cave visit part of our visit. The guides were decent and the natural formations are beautiful and fascinating. My rating is about the business practices of this place and not the tour part itself. While I realize this is a 'tourist attraction,' I found it distasteful to be forced to take the stock "photo opp" at the start of each tour (available for 'only!' $28+ if you want it) and, worse, I found it highly offensive to be charged over $20 for 1 small+1arge ice cream (no pricing was listed and this total was quite the shock upon checkout). These practices ruined my experience. (of course this place is hardly the only one doing this, though it's just the one we visited. And yes, I know all about how expensive it is to run a business. I own one myself, although I don't price gouge my customers. never have. never will).

We used one of our SA city pass basic attractions to do the cavern tour.
It was over a mile walk, as times in tight or steep areas and others in massive underground cave rooms. Definitely an amazing learning experience.
The venue has lots of other things to do, so definitely check it out.
Lots of parking.

The Discovery Tour was awesome, interesting, educational, and made for a decent workout. The tour lasted about 1 1/2 hours, went 180 feet down, then all the way back up through narrow passages, cavernous rooms, and plenty of still-growing stalactites and stalagmites. The Trading Post had some neat items for souvenirs. The grounds are quiet, relaxing, and enjoyable. There are plenty of activities for a whole day.

This is a very beautiful cave and the guide was very informative. This is a great place to go if you are fairly fit. This is NOT a handicapped accessible adventure. The caverns are not far form San Antonio and are a comfortable experience however, the humidity is almost 100% so do not think you are going to cool down in here.

The caverns were great and Sharon did a great job. So glad we did this the last day before our flight, we both enjoyed it! Only thing I would suggest is limiting the number of people…there were really too many for the guide …

The good - Caverns were spectacular and they get a 5+. Extremely well done and the tour was fantastic! Walkways were excellent with handrails where needed. Lighting in the cavern and of the formations was terrific. Grounds were very nice, employees were very helpful, and plenty of parking. The bad (deductions from a 5) our guide David was knowledgeable but was so over the top dramatic it was very detracting. Sounded like he was auditioning for a drama role. Other deduction was the $10 charge for parking.

I took my grandchildren. We had such a good time. There is a lot of walking. Going down isn’t so bad, but at 65 the going up was a bit difficult.

How is this getting wonderful ratings? I am giving it 2 since at least there were caverns, but they weren't even that dynamic. We bought our timed tickets and waited in the heat for 1 1/2 hours to THEN hear the instructions that it is cold (it really wasn't), that you shouldn't be wearing sandals (bit too late for that) and there is a strenuous uphill climb (we panted, but were fine, but wow...some elderly were really struggling) . The group was too large, we were somewhat rudely admonished when we asked which way to go. Guide: "I've said it three times." Me: "We are at the back and can't even hear or see you." There were TWO medical emergencies. One with a poor man with prosthetic leg who was having problems on the uphill and another we didn't see but required a defibrillator. I think they need to be very clear when you purchase the tickets what is involved. And perhaps teens should not be the ones doing all the ticket sales, guiding, etc. Luray caverns is FAR better.

I will say this was the most flawless evening! I really appreciated the servers asking the attendees for their allergen requirements prior to serving. I felt relaxed knowing they were taken care of. Everyone seemed to enjoy the food and drinks. Adding the games with drinks and apps made for a nice transition before dinner and allowed for relaxation and fun. The feed back from the ropes course was all good. The cavern tour was beautiful, and our guide was informed and courteous. This was a wonderful experience and so glad we decided on this for our team building event!

Great tour guides and super cool experiences! Check it out if you never have before, you won’t be sorry. We had an incredible time!

Awesome experience! The caverns are very humid, expect to be a little sweaty! Good hike back up from the discovery tour!

A must see location, beautiful and very well kept up. We had an amazing time and it was about an hour long! Get to the location early as it does get packed!

Natural Bridge cavern is a beautiful, active cavern like we have never seen before. We were very surprised by the 99% humidity and 77 degrees. The caverns in NC, VA and TN are so much cooler. Our guide was great. The only real disappointment was the size of the tour groups. The larger groups lended themselves to way too much talking and distractions.

Tour guide Emma was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job. She deserves a raise and I would love to get her again or hire more people with her positive attitude.
Improvement try adding a playground that’s free for the kids especially when it comes to be a school field trip

Thank you Marcus, you were a really fun tour guide. Our kids really appreciate being able to ask questions about the mineral and rock formations in Natural Bridge Caverns. The jokes you shared were really great - we keep reshaping them. In terms of the natural beauty of NBC - this place place WOWs! The earth continues to impress us, and this place offers stunning examples of what geological time means...Our son, who is 7, was somewhat skeptical about the experience (preconceived notions about caves - dark, wet, cold, scary). He became a fan relatively quickly into the experience and left, no doubt, with different perspectives about the world around him. Thank you!

I give this five stars simply because it was absolutely amazing. But make no mistake, the Discovery Tour is very physically demanding. If you have any mobility impairment or are out of shape, it's going to be a very rough ride. As our tour guide pointed out when we entered, it will take 30-45 minutes for emergency personnel to reach you if you decide in the cave that you can't climb out. Ouch, sounds like she is talking from experience! We were sweating buckets by the time we ended our steep climb up out of the cave. The last 20 minutes are all very steeply uphill. But if you can do that, it's worth it. The caverns are unlike anything I've ever seen. Our kids are 3 and 4 and made the climb easily. Our kids are also well traveled and used to minding and being quiet, but this is a very adult activity and I could see it not being appropriate for other kids. You have to know your own kids and family; but the presentations in each room are very adult driven and use very advanced vocabulary. There are also steep areas with no rails to be mindful of. We got some great photos of our kids dressed as skeletons for Halloween inside the cave, but I don't think we will do this again until they are about 9 or 10. And I would never suggest doing both tours in the same day! I needed a good rest after just one!

Beautiful caverns. You are walking on steep inclines down 187 feet, then back up, be prepared. Plus it’s slick, but they have handrails. No issues on our tour. I would suggest to bring a bottled water with you, I may still be in the cave if I didn’t.

Really neat experience seeing both the caverns and the light show within them. We did the Hidden Wonders tour, and we loved it! It is a ways outside the downtown, but definitely worth the drive.

The caves were absolutely GORGEOUS! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable, when you could hear her. There are 50-60 people on each tour and a group goes every 10 minutes. So unless you are right next to the guide you can’t hear her due to so many people talking. I would love to go back but did not enjoy so many people in a group.

It was a short and beautifully drive from San Antonio to the caverns. We did the Discoveries Tour through the original caverns! Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly! It was about an hour tour, path was wet but hand rails and the pace of the tour made it ok. Caverns were about 180 ft underground so perfect activity for a 99 degree day as the caverns were 70 degree but humid. Also Lots of outside activity for kids on the ground.

Took the discovery tour. Tough but easy if you are young. Interesting that there is very little human damage. Since was found in the 60s limited uncontrolled acess. Very safe. Have a great climbing and line.my biggest complaint is price with no senior discount

NBC is much more commercial and costly compared to Cascade and No Name. If you are looking to spend the day, this might be your choice. Pros: large wet cave with lots of formations. good lighting and walkways. Cons: charge to park, large tour, hot and humid, steep climb out which was hard for some folks, up-sells like the photograph at the start of the tour which we skipped.

This was a great (albeit pricey) afternoon with the family. The standard cave tour was plenty for us. Guide was upbeat and kept things moving. The history and presentation is really well put together. Truly a unique experience!
We came back and did the maze/ropes course with the kids another day. Again, not cheap, but it is well maintained and a fun activity.

My wife and I purchased the Cavern Combo Tour, which included the Hidden Wonders Tour and the Discovery Tour.
Our guide for the first tour we did was Donna and she was wonderfully informative! The Hidden Wonders Tour ended with an exit using the B.A.T. (Belt Assisted Transport) which pretty much is a slanted uphill moving walkway. Some people may find this troublesome to use, but we were fine. If you are so inclined (pun intended) you can skip the B.A.T. and just walk along the side on a regular uphill sidewalk.
Our second tour was guided by Rachel. She was great, too!
We enjoyed both tours. Although similar, each has its own beauty.
Marvelous Caverns!

The caverns were beautiful. Purchased ticket for the obstacle course and it was more so for young kids and not so fun……..

We took the Combo tour and booked directly on-site. There are plenty of tours and we planned them with a 30 minute gap in between. Our guides were very knowledgeable. One of them needed to speak louder and clearer. One of them was really fun and exuberant. This tour should book fewer guests and place an age limit/recommendation. It is NOT ideal for families with children younger than 5 or adults that are not in great physical shape. I'll tell you why: Kids have short attention spans and most can't endure the hike. It was often disruptive to hear several children from multiple families whine and complain out loud while everyone else was trying to HEAR the tour guide. We also saw several older folks from tours prior to ours stopped in the cave waiting on assistance to get out. There are steep and narrow areas of switchbacks and with each tour around 45 minutes, older folks or those with physical limitations will get stuck. This is also not wheelchair accessible. Also, beware that there is no smartphone internet in the caves, and even in the main building, the Wi-fi is spotty and weak. We did not have our own vehicle and it was a challenge to get a Ride-share driver to pick up our request, in addition to the lack of constant Wi-fi. Just be prepared!

Great destination just outside San Antonio (Texas) that is fun for the whole family. The cave is AMAZING, it is warm inside it but still amazing. Lots of activities that all ages can participate in.

We took the Discovery Tour. The Cavern itself is beautiful; but very humid and wet (just a head's up), and may be a bit too much for people who are out of shape or have asthma. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. The grounds around the cave are lovely. There are several activities available in addition to the caverns, and two places to get food.

We did both caverns with Sarah and Morgan as our guides. The caves were warm and very humid, so don’t wear long sleeves unless you want to sweat even more than you will in a t-shirt! You must wear your mask and social distance the best you can. The hikes in the cavern can be strenuous and slippery at times, but they are worth it! Beautiful views and history. We were very pleased with our experience here

Great cavern tour and I recommend the hidden passage combo tour, it's a lot of fun but wear good shoes. It's worth the price.

Beautiful, impressive, I cant say they are the best caverns I ever visited because is not fair to Mother Nature but the fact you could choose your tour - length of time that was awesome. Plenty of things to do in the ground for all ages.

The cave is definitely not for little ones. We have taken our little guy to alabaster cavern in Oklahoma and he did great but this one was Slick and steep. They take a large group in so it takes too long for kids. Also my toddler is a talker so we exited early so the other guests could hear the tour guide. My husband finished the tour and said it was really cool. Now the zip line outside was very cool and they even had one special for small children. My son is 2 and a half and he loved it. Also if you buy online and don’t print your ticket you need to take your phone in and have them print a paper ticket- which kinda defeats the purpose of buying online🤷🏻♀️

I had a great experience visiting the Natural Bridge Caverns. This was my first time ever entering a cave. I did the Hidden Wonders Tour. It was very cool getting to go down inside and learn so much about various rock formations and calcifications. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, and our group had a good time. The light show at the end was great. Would definitely visit again and do the Discovery Tour next time to visit the other cave!

Our final destination on our recent San Antonio vacation. It’s just like I remeber as a kid and I’m grateful I got to bring my family. We honestly don’t care for San Antonio but this place was Great! We did the ropes course, zip line, cave tours and mining.

This impressive, awe-inspiring cavern is the product of millennia of natural processes and is a fabulous visit. We took the regular tour and were really impressed with both our knowledgeable tour guide and with the obvious care that is shown for this space. There's a different geological formation to see at every turn, and our tour guide had an explanation for each sight. We wore sturdy walking shoes and were fine - our tour guide walked at an easy pace so that everyone could keep up while still being careful at slippery spots. This is an all-walking tour and isn't really accessible for people with limited mobility, so I'd recommend calling if you have any questions about accessibility. We'll definitely come back for the Hidden Tours version.

We just left the caverns and wow! We had the BEST time! We did a regular discovery tour, the maze, and zip line/ropes course. We thoroughly enjoyed our time! The staff were great, very friendly and knowledgeable. We ate lunch at the restaurant on the grounds and the food was good and reasonably priced. 10/10 recommend!

The light show was awesome and I enjoyed how the tour was laid out. Even thought the trails were wet, I felt very safe. And that’s how the stalagmites and stalagmites in caves are formed Miya, my guide, was fabulous and very knowledgeable. She made the tour very fun.

We had an amazing time visiting the caverns and doing the ropes course afterward. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the caverns. They are truly beautiful and well worth the trip.

We visited and took the discovery tour. After visiting Carlsbad Caverns this was not as good. Although a spectacular place we felt the group size was way too big and we couldn’t hear our guide. A touristy feel with the ‘let’s take your picture inside the cavern’ offering for everyone to line up for.
Overall a good place for some family fun with other activities onsite.

This is a great all-day adventure park for families. We were just interested in the Caves, however, and not all the other activities that were geared to children. The Caves were well worth visiting. Absolutely spectacular! The walkways were easy to traverse. Older people might have a bit of a difficult time inside, but there are handrails throughout. The tour guides are dotted throughout the caves to give you information about what you're looking at and answer questions. Very knowledgeable!

We took the Discovery Tour with Jordan as our guide. The caverns are amazing. Just be sure to wear comfortable shoes and be prepared for a good hike.

Absolutely gorgeous! Tour was 32 bucks a person and well worth it. Guided tour by experienced caver was very informative and fun. Bit of exercise but views were amazing. Lots to do for everyone of all ages.

Put on comfortable tennis shoes, pack the kids up and go! There were 4 of us, none of whom had ever been to the Natural Bridge Caverns, and 1 who does not love enclosed spaces...but we all had a great time! The path is a little narrow in a couple of spots, but well-lit, and well worth the time and cost. It was amazing! At each stopping place, the tour guides were polite, very well-versed in their topic or area, as different areas have completely different formations. You could ask questions, which many of the kids did, as well as take tons of pictures. Really interesting, and so glad we ventured into this underground wonderland!

Visiting the area from Washington state, and I was told we had to check out the caves. The history and the information on how everything was formed was amazing. I loved hearing about the different rock formations and how they all got their different color and look. I loved hearing our guide Noah talk about his favorite formation the porcupine Halicite (sp). Thanks Noah for our awesome private group tour. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

The caverns tour was awesome. The artistic work of nature in abundance. Tips for new visitors, be prepared to walk and climb. Climb like a 14 story building. You will et to drink natural water in the purest form.

Very good. Quite a bit more strenuous than they said. Guides were knowledgeable but information was very bland. A little personality in the narration would be nice. We were the last tour of the day and boy did it show! It was very much "here's your hat, what's your hurry". At the prices charged, that REALLY needs addressed. At one point, our guide was turning lights off almost before we were able to see anything. At $68 a head, hubs was not happy. After the tour we stopped to get a drink and the kid behind the counter pretty poorly hid his annoyance at having to wait on us, 15 minutes before the store closed. He was very obviously watching the clock. We took our 18 year old grandson and even he noticed. Overall, amazing caves.

The adventure visit was really great. Super well organised the entire cave visit is paved and friendly for kids and elders. A bit pricy I have to say... 100 bucks for a family with two kids but still worthy!

The caves were stunning! Half of our group did both caves and said it was completely worth it. There is also lots of extra activities to keep you busy. All of the staff were extremely friendly and everywhere was very clean.

We did both caverns (Discovery and Hidden Passages) on Saturday, July 8, 2023. They are stupendous. I’m talking really amazing. Also, the facilities are clean, well organized, and well maintained. The staff is friendly and well spoken
So with that said, here are the major negatives.
1. The caverns are steep and in some places slippery. Strength and agility are necessary.
2. Expensive. Prices are high.
3. In most cases, the staff is not too knowledgeable about geology nor these particular caverns.
4. These caverns are advertised as being in San Antonio. However, they are well north of San Antonio. It took us 45 minutes to get there.

Very good place to visit if you are a nature enthusiast as an adult. Kids are going to love it, not just the caverns but the spiral activity just outside the caverns but within the campus. I took the combo tour for my family, incl. 2 kids.
I would suggest to take the Hidden Wonders tour first and then, go for Discovery tour as the latter is strenuous (need a a lot of walking up the ramp towards the end). The hidden wonders tour has a BAT (batter assisted walk) that will take you to it's exit, I wonder why Discovery tour does not have BAT. The Discovery tour has more scenic spots but the hidden wonders tour has a light show!
A good day to spend and eat around if you take the combo tour. A genuine tip: there is a Wildlife ranch also besides the caverns, so if you take one of the two caverns tour and combine with the wildlife ranch tour, it will be an awesome day I believe (I did not know about the wildlife ranch till I visited the caverns :( , so it's the best tip I can give you :)
Go and have a blast, book tickets in advance online, will save you 6-7 $ per ticket.

It’s just an amazing place to bring your family. I went with my kids and put my baby in a carrier so we can walk inside the cave. It was a wonderful experience. Reminder to wear comfy snug sneakers as some areas are kind of wet but then handrails are available.

We always enjoy seeing natural landscape sites on our travels. With a trip to San Antonio, we looked up this nearby attraction. With the drive early in the morning from San Antonio and a stop for breakfast, a visit to the Natural Caverns was a good way to spend the first half of a day. The caverns were an impressive site to see. We enjoyed the narrated tour. We obtained our tickets in advance - arrived early to make sure we got our bearings and had time not to rush before our scheduled start time. Recommended.

Our visit to the caves was definitely memorable. I recommend this caverns. It was very interesting. There is many activities to do. It is a spectacular cave formations. Worth a visit.

Very nice place
Employee’s were all over policing the masks
Of course you can take mask down and stand 4 feet away from photographer to get their $13 photo
Typical hypocrisy
Wouldn’t go back until the pandemic is over

We are seeing all 5 caverns on the caverns trail. Bought tickets to Discovery tour at this location, Discovery tour is bigger cave rooms and faster moving. You descend down to 180 ft. The climb out is easy for fit people and those less in shape can easily manage if they take their time and take breaks. Caves are spectacular and well worth a visit. Tour takes 45-60 minutes. We really liked the Cave with No Name better because it was a more personal tour and less busy. This cave is still a great visit!

We’ve done caverns before and still thoroughly enjoyed these. Natural bridge caverns is a clean, well maintained attraction. I would highly recommend this attraction to anyone visiting San Antonio area.

Natural Bridge Caverns is a beautiful area just outside of San Antonio. We showed up early to our Hidden Passages Tour just to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Once our tour started, we had a wonderful time exploring the caves. Our tour guide Joey was extremely knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of the caves.

I highly recommend going on both tours - it’s steep but very cool.
The negative part of this tree is tat you either drive or get an Uber or Lyft or drive yourself

We came here with the family. We did the discovery tavern which is supposed to be easier. It's very intense if you have any issues with joints, knees or hips this is not for you. There are a lot of inclines and steps. But if you can do it it's beautiful and amazing. I have not seen cavern rooms the size of this one. There are 2 Caverns at this location we only did one. They also have a climbing zipline area for kids. It's definitely 1/2 day excursion. They do have a small cafe for food, snacks and drinks.

This place delivered a bit more than expected. It’s more of a “family fun park”. It just happens to have a cave. The grounds are extremely well kept and are SPOTLESS. Very highly recommended. Note that the hike up out of the cave is a bit strenuous. Good walking shoes are a must.

We just returned from a mini vacation and this was our second stop. We had the g-kids 8 & 9. They absolutely loved it, now to be honest they did the The Canopy Challenge so you figure out which was the best for them...

This is a wonderful opportunity to explore God's wonderful creation! The cave "exploration" is adequately lite (no scary stuff here) and very interesting! The only down=side that I noticed was that due to the OVID restrictions, there was so-called social distancing and tour members and guides had to wear a mask so it was sometimes a bit difficult to always hear everything that was being described by the tour guides. Nevertheless, the guides did their very best under the circumstances. The tour is also was a bit of a hike and some of the paths are steep and challenging particularly near the end of the tour so beware to those of us who have moderate physical challenges (both to the youngest and oldest generations).
After we left the cavern, we walked over to an area where they offered the opportunity for the kids to pan and sift for "gems". This was an unexpected treat. The kids really enjoyed it! There was places to shop and a wonderful maze for the whole family!
We also met and conversed with a wondaful lady (Joye) who was busily sweeping and maintaining the "gem " sifting area. Turns out that she has been working there for nearly 50 years! What a wonderful lady she is! She clearly loves what she does and it shows!!!! Thank you Natural Bridge for a wonderful day!

Definitely a Highlight of our Trip! There is a lot to do at this tourist spot such as climbing walls and zip lines. I would suggest touring the caverns if you do not have claustrophobia or walking issues. It is also very dark so the visually impaired would struggle without assistance. It is not wheel chair accessible. Each group of 50 is taken into the caverns by a tour guide who explains everything quite well. Don’t expect to be cool while in the caverns because the humidity is at 99%.

We did both tours here and was very impressed by the formations and how long they had been developing. Both tour guides were great. It was a bit humid in the caverns, but the walking paths were good (albeit a bit slippery at times). Important to wear good shoes and be prepared to walk down 18 stories then back up (gradual decent and ascent).

My family had a great time on the guided cave tour. Guides were great and the tour was fun. My son loved learning about cave formations and actually seeing it in-person. Great family activity.

Overall, very impressive and educational. We did both the Hidden Wonders and the Discovery tours. There’s a deal if you do both but if we had to pick one, we would pick the Discovery tour. The Discovery tour had much more impressive formations within the cave.
It would be beneficial for the operator to run smaller tour groups. The groups can be quite large and there can be a lot of waiting for people to catch up. Luckily, there’s a lot to look at while you wait. I would not recommend the cave tours for small children. There were many small children in our groups and most of them ended up crying, which echoed throughout the cave and was quite disruptive to the rest of the group. Once you are in the cave, you have to do the whole tour so there’s no easy exit from midway if a child gets scared or starting crying.

Simply amazing. We bought the 2 tour package. Did the Hidden Passages tour first. Words cannot describe the underground wonders. Lots of stairs though that are steep & slippery. Need better lighting. Wife missed a step & fell. Ended up with badly bruised face from hitting the hand rail. Did not try to do the 2nd tour after her fall & they did give us a refund.

Fun! If you are ready for a hike, a fun time, and want to be reminded of how you can acquire a felony, then head here! The caverns are beautiful and it was a great time to explore the natural part of San Antonio. Their gift shops have cool post cards and adorable stuffed bats!!!

It’s definitely a tourist location, but they do a decent job of keeping the cave maintained and protected while still allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of this place. We were quite impressed with the formations inside the cave and our tour guide was great. We also did the maze afterwards which was fun. We ate pizza afterwards at their cafe and they have a nice gift shop. The bathroom facilities were clean and large. Highly recommend!

My boyfriend and I are fans of anything that involves either learning something new and/or doing some physical activity, so this place caught our eye as a place to visit when we were thinking of something to do while we waited for our check-in time for our airbnb. It was def worth it!
This place is a little northeast of San Antonio, and going in another pathway actually takes you to the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch. After going down the winding road, you'll reach the parking lot, where there are plenty of parking spots available. When you enter the main entrance, you just need to turn to your left, and the ticket counter is right there.
We opted in getting the combo tour, which is the discovery and hidden passages tours together, and it ended up about being $117 for the both of us. They do offer other tours, but some of them are for certain dates so def check on those if you were interested.
Both of the tours took about an hour or so each; however, the main difference that I found from the tours was that the hidden passages tour comprises of mostly stairs, so please keep this in mind when choosing. I would also advise to bring comfortable shoes with good traction as the pathways do get slippery. We actually came right after it rained, so there was even more puddles formed during our tour. Luckily, our group didn't have any falls, and both tour guides were informative and accommodating. Both tours were filled with lots of interesting information about how the caverns were formed, and we even got to see some real geology majors from UT collecting samples from the stalagmites and stalactites! They explained how they've been collecting samples to correlate the environment in the cavern to the outside world.

The cavern tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. Interesting formations. It’s a steep walk down and out. It’s 99% humidity in cavern

I have visited several caves during my life and travels. These do not stand out but offer some beautiful things to see.
Tours are of course made with a guide (only in English) in small groups.
Small tip: try to always be as close as possible to the guide so as not to miss anything of the tour because he turns on and off some lamps of the cave while he speaks and sometimes it goes very (too) fast.
As a couple, we paid $105 for the combo ticket that includes both tours. I think it's a bit expensive because the two caves look very similar. The "hidden" offers in addition to the "discovery", a small sound and light show (5 minutes) and a final lift a little particular (and pleasant).
For the more adventurous, there is also a beautiful course of climbers but paying in addition to the entrance.

We took the Discovery Tour recently. We had taken this tour 30 years ago so didn't remember it. I wish I did. It is a 3/4 mile walking distance 180 feet down. It is 70 degrees inside, not the usual in the 50's like other caves. The humidity is 99%. The floor is wet the entire walk so make sure to wear shoes with good tread on them. The formations inside the caverns were standard seen in other caverns but still interesting. My problem was the walking. I'm an out of shape senior and I could barely make it out of this place. Make sure that you are physically fit when you go here!

Incredible and outstanding! Highlight of my trip to San Antonio. The tour guide was excellent. We went on a rainy day which was the thing to do. It was in the 50's outside and about 75 degrees underground. The formations underground surpassed my understanding of what stalactites and stalagmites are. Definitely a must see place!

Great tour to do with your family. Very interesting to see all the formations and learn how they’re made. Nature is incredible! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had such a sweet personality. Warning though the last part of tour goes up at a pretty good incline so wearing good shoes is recommended! Would recommend!!

I enjoyed the Discovery Tour, pretty strenuous so be ready. Kids enjoyed it, and seems like the tour was just the right length. Kids were more excited about the ropes course which they enjoyed. Place was clean and everyone working was enjoyable. It was a nice little fun half a day.

Ok...this is a two part review. The Caverns are truly an experience ! We saw two of them for $ 54 and while this may seem expensive....it was truly a great well narrated experience with enthusiastic guides, a lot of magnificent nature to see, and well arranged so as to offer adequate protection ! Very strongly recommend this experience ! What was really annoying was the low quality food and service in the cafetarie...if you want to wait 15 minutes for $ 9.99 Burger or slices of pizza...where nobody seems to know what they are doing..this is the place to go ! Our advice would be to eat prior to entering and get a water bottle as they do allow water on the tours !

The Discovery tour I took was crowded and the people were straggling back. I unfortunately was in the second half of the crowd and could not hear the tour guide's talk. More importantly, the LIGHTS WENT OFF BEFORE WE COULD EVEN GET TO SEE THE ATTRACTIONS!!! and there were about a dozen people behind me that also did not get to see it. So there you are stumbling in the dark with wet surfaces trying to find the guard rails. If they are going to operate like this they should be shut down due to safety concerns. I almost fell. Without being able to see the attractions in the light, the tour is totally worthless.

Nice tour and great view of columns in cave. Staff was very helpful and able to squeeze us in using explorer pass given busy spring break attendance. Column views were very cool and unique. If like caves was worth seeing

My husband & I have both been to Timpanogos Cave, Minnetonka Cave & Carlsbad Caverns. We weren't sure what to expect with Natural Bridge. We were pleasantly surprised. These caves are amazing! Pictures do not begin to show the impressive structures. The caves were a highlight of our trip to Texas & we did a lot of fun things. We would definitely pay to see these caves again. For reference, we did the one hour Discovery Tour.

We had planned to drop in for a visit to one of the cavers, but ended up spending a couple of hours. The tour takes you about an hour and 15 minutes, but you have to make sure you are there early. Also if you have digital tickets, you have to exchange them for physical tickets, otherwise the guide won't take you on the tour. There are some nice halls in the caves and the guide was pretty good in pointing out the different structures and telling about the history and development of the cave. One of the caves have been worked on to be used for weddings and parties. Although I understand that, it wouldnt be my chioice. There is also a short light show included, which didn't add much for me. The biggest downside for me was the BAT (Belt Assisted Transport) which takes you back to the surface. If you can walk down, you can also easily walk up. Worse was even having to watch the safety video and having to listen to all the warnings when entering the BAT. I know it is all about being informed and not being liable. but this is just getting ridiculous.
There is a nice nice shop and cafe also and some other tours and activities that can be participated in.

I can't believe I lived in Texas nearly 20 years before making this trip! We did both the Discovery Tour and the Hidden Wonders Tour. Both were excellent and our guides were interesting and well informed. My 9 year old was engaged throughout the entire first tour and much of the second. While 2 tours made the day a little long for him, I don't think I would have wanted to miss either one. A great experience and I hope to go back!
The only less than stellar part of the day was the Cafe, it was pretty much exactly what I expected so it wasn't really a disappointment. It just seems they're missing an opportunity by not having a great restaurant on site. Next time we'll pack something or stop on the way which time didn't allow for this visit.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Twisted Trails zip rail and high ropes course! I took my 17 and 18 year old son and daughter. There were suspended tight rope and long beams to walk across. We were securely attached in harness seats and tethered to metal, so there was no way to fall. But it still felt daring, slightly scary and adventurous.

Amazing experience for adults and kids. The place offers two tours: Hidden Wonders Tour and Discovery Tour. There is also a combo that covers both. We did the Hidden Wonders due to the time and the access. The formations were amazing and the end of the tour has an impressive light and sound show. Another best part was the B.A.T. (stands for Belt Assisted Transport) – a conveyor system ride out of the cavern. The outside attractions were great for kids. I will strongly recommend the digging for crystals kids experience. Overall great visit.

I visited Natural Bridge Caverns with my husband, our two boys (ages 7 and 18), my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law.
We bought tickets at the front desk area. There was a slight hiccup with tickets because the sales lady got herself confused. She ended us selling us the tickets we needed (5 adults and 1 child), but then she said she needed to refund us because she charged us for one extra person. My father-in-law and myself tried to tell her that we had 6 people total, but she insisted she overcharged us, so she refunded one ticket. While we were waiting, I noticed she had only given us 5 tickets, so we had to go back to the front desk where another woman helped us to get the right amount of tickets.
While waiting, we browsed the gift shop. The items are nice, but some can be a bit pricey.
We went for the Hidden Passages tour. It goes 180 feet down. We were warned that the tour would be moderately strenuous, and oh my gosh, it really was! Going down wasn't so much of a problem, but coming up, my legs almost gave out, haha! There are so many steps, and the ramps that go up don't help! Even our young and fit tour guide was out of breath at the top!
One of the rooms was in the cave was closed for renovations which was a shame. However, everything else was nice. I think the tour lasted closed to about 45 minutes or so. Our tour guide was very nonweldable and friendly.
There's also other things to do at the Caverns besides just the cave. There were a few photo ops for Fall that were free to do. There was a free dress the scarecrow activity for kids and free kids cornhole as well as a free hay maze for the little kids. If you're willing to pay, they have a maze for adults and older kids, mining for gems, and a zip line course. The zip line course looked so much fun! My 7 year old did it, and he enjoyed it.
There is a little restaurant on site that serves basic food and snacks, and it's a bit pricey, but it's not too bad.
I can't wait to go back so I can try the zip line course myself! (I had a skirt on at the time so I couldn't do it.)

The tour guide was great. He really knew all the info about the cave system and the critters who live there. His passion made the tour more enjoyable!

It is so much fun, for all ages. The cave is well lit and tour guide was excellent. I did the basic “discovery” tour, and it was amazing. And it is not just cave, but there is cool zip lining tower that I definitely want to come back for, if an adult is allowed. I did not see any bats. I recommend wearing comfortable and non-slippery shoes. Ground/walkaway is very clean and nice sized parking.

My niece and I went to the Combo Tour which composed of the Discovery Tour and the Hidden Wonders Tour.
We both enjoyed the Discovery Tour with our knowledgeable and professional guide Nathaniel. The rock formations are all natural and amazing. Conquering to go down 180 feet was amazing. There were photo ops spots and rest periods.
The Hidden Wonders Tour was much shorter and less natural than the Discovery Tour. If you only have a budget and energy for one tour, just do the Discovery Tour and you will be wowed by the experience.
The BAT ride on the Hidden Wonders are long and slow and it did require strong legs and good balance. Don’t ride the BAT, if you have doubts you have strong legs and good balance.
I recommend to do the Discovery Tour Vs. The Hidden Wonders Tour.

Our visit was actually March 2024 but the drop down didn’t go back that far. This was our second visit, we decided to go on the Hidden Passages (now called Hidden Wonders) tour. A LOT more physically easier tour than the Natural Bridge tour. Yes, there are steps here & there but it was a LOT easier tour compared to the steep inclines throughout the other tour so I do recommend this tour over the other if you’re physically challenged, like myself..I have bad knees…or have heart/breathing problems because it’s physically less challenging.
There’s a light show at the end of the tour & a conveyor belt system to ride on which takes you back to the top. Because I fall easily, I chose to walk out instead of taking the conveyor which is extremely challenging & steep but there’s a rest stop halfway up to take a break, despite this, I was absolutely exhausted after climbing that steep hill so I may try the conveyor next time & hope I don’t fall. Overall, we had a great time & highly recommend.

I was traveling through Texas, from Austin to San Antonio, and I had planned a visit to the Natural Bridge Caverns just a day before I arrived. My ticket admission was $30 USD for the Discovery Tour and the duration of the tour was 70 minutes. The tour group was around a dozen people, and a tour guide. The tour was informative, I enjoyed the tour and glad that I did this.

I first heard about this place on Trip advisor and upon reading the reviews I bought tickets online. We arrived 20 minutes before our tour starts ( Folks listen up, if you are not a punctual person this is not your event). The tour guide will leave without you if you are late. Speaking of tardiness there was a big family in our group that just happened to barely make it on time and missed the tour guide's rules of not touching the formations! When we went inside the cave, they were touching everything ! Our group was about 25 people, nothing too extreme. I wished that people in the tour will be ass loud and obnoxious while the tour is going on. This being said, maybe the tour guide can say something about being a bit more peaceful for the sake of the wildlife. Rowdy pre-teens ya know? ugh. Although the group can kill your exploration vibe, the caves are amazing. These beat the caves I saw in Wisconsin. The pictures do not do it justice ! The scenery in the cave looks like you are in a whole other planet.

Our tour guide was excellent, knew a lot about the formation of these beautiful caverns and was very patient in answering all of our groups questions! The lighting and signage was well done! I found it to be a walking lesson in Geology and it was well worth the cost! Hint: Get your tickets on line a few weeks in advance for the best price! Wear good walking shoes too!

Great tour! The caverns are fantastic - really worth visiting. Chris is an excellent guide, and did a great job explaining the features of the caverns. The site is an overall great destination spot with lots of activities and food for the family. Highly recommend it.

This is central Texas, so expect some of the local tourists to make snarky comments during the tour displaying their deliberate ignorance of geologic concepts. You will likely have people in your tour group who don’t believe the earth is billions of years old, and who respond to your tour guide’s prompting of how limestone is found at the top of Mount Everest with answers like “bird poop”. Ironic considering the oil and gas industry that the state is built on is based on fundamental petroleum geology concepts requiring millions of years for hydrocarbon maturation.
Our family with a 2 year old and 4 year old did the Hidden Wonders tour. No strollers can go into the cave - Mum is very fit and carried the 2 year old in the baby carrier on her back - down more than 100 stairs. To avoid instability on the “people mover belt” at the end which takes you back up to ground level (similar to the automated walkways at airports, but inclined) she power walked back up to ground level with the 2-year old on her back. Another couple had an infant, also in a baby carrier, and seemed to do fine. The 4 year old had to have his hand held at all times to ensure he did not plunge off the side of the cavern. Overall the kids did fine - but there are a lot of stairs and you cannot be carrying a heavy child around on this tour unless you are extremely fit.
I have been on the original Discovery Tour and think the Discovery Tour is overall better in terms of geologic features and lighting.
Our tour guide was very good. He moved through the large group as the tour went along to ensure a fair distribution of people closest to him when giving his explanations. Not sure how to explain this better. We were at the back, but at a couple points on the tour he came to the back and gave his talk from where we are, which was appreciated.
The complex has a lot of other attractions to entertain the family if you didn’t reserve tickets in advance and end up having to wait two hours to go on the tour (like we did). There is a burger place and a pizza place, and lots of zip lines and other activities for kids. We had lunch while waiting and our small ones did the Tykes course which has no height requirements.

We went on a one hour tour we bought tickets for online and only one other couple and guide Sharon, she was great although apparently the key/lock to the door to get inside kind of hinky and she had to get another employee to come down and let us in. The other couple was very nice and friendly as was Sharon. Day before had been warm shorts weather but our day was around 50 with a really cold wind making it feel like 43! We have gone on a lot of cave tours and this is the only one where it was warmer IN the cave than out as it’s a constant 70 degrees inside. This is the wettest cave we have ever been in also. Water dripping and standing everywhere! The good news there is that means it’s still active and growing stalactites, etc. the bad news is that made it very slippery no while the stairs have handrails, with the, being wet they are slippery. In fact, my husband fell backward and Sharon was obviously worried he hurt himself (he’s 70) but he did reinjure a sore shoulder and hurt his pride it was nothing serious. Very beautiful formations but it was pretty tiring for us old folks! 😜. Interesting thing here to me was there were 3-4 stalls on both sides of the ladies’ room and in between was a running ceiling fan! That was a first! Oh, and they are extending the cave inside, we saw workers down there.

About 30 miles outside of San Antonio, the caverns are in the middle of a small amusement park, obviously built to separate you from a few more dollars after visiting the caverns (a business has to make money to survive). It is also near the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch (which we didn’t visit). The entry roads to both parks were multiple lanes, suggesting that these attractions can be mighty crowded in high season. We went in February, which is not high season (thankfully). We had booked tickets for the standard tour online, and those vouchers need to be exchanged for real tickets when you get there. The tours go every half hour. The caverns are pretty impressive. We have been to many such sites during our travels, and these caverns are in the top 10. A witty (or less than witty…depending on the luck of the draw) employee guides you through the caverns turning lights on/off for effect. Several rooms in these caverns are enormous, and the rock formations are very cool. The tour is mildly strenuous in some parts. People with dodgy hearts or bad legs should probably pass on this. There is no wheelchair access. Tour takes about 30 minutes, and is worth the visit. The rest of the park has attractions that cater to the kids. Force them to learn a little science, then they can go on the rope challenge. Recommended

It's cosmic to think that amazing structures like those in the Natural Bridge Caverns exist, even more amazing is how long it takes for nature to produce these marvels.
On our recent trip, we toured both Caverns, plus the kids did the zip lines. Hats off to Alec, who was terrific as our cavern guide.
Decent availability of food and drink to tide you over between events (a bit pricey, but not a surprise for attraction concession food). One note, cell service is pretty poor in the area, but there is free wifi across the campus.
Five stars, this is hidden nature at its finest!

The caverns themselves are out of this world! Literally and figuratively! :) I was amazed by the stories of the formations, and how the caves were discovered.
What took away from the wonderful experience were the people working there.
At the ticket counter: three people had to pass the buck from one to another to figure out my online ticket combo. In the end, one told me "Twisted Trails is closed." OK, but are you offering me a refund, an exchange, what? You cannot just tell me something I paid for is closed, and leave it at that!
The guides were a bit too clowny for me. Maybe they have to make those kind of jokes, it's part of the script ("drinking from a soda straw would taste like a 3rd degree misdemeanor") but, since I got to go on two tours, I got to hear these fizzed-out jokes more than once.
One of the tour guides (Maddy) was speaking so fast, I could barely make out what she was saying! She was always asking if we had questions, but when someone did, she brushed the question aside.
In short: the caverns are phenomenal, but I think their personnel not trained well enough.

We did the Hidden Passages Tour. I've been in quite a few caves; this one ranks among the best. It wasn't open back in the days before laws and awareness prevented people from breaking off souvenirs, so all of the formations are pristine and beautiful. There's wide variety, and the tour's length is just right. Don't bother bringing extra clothes; the cave is plenty warm (and humid).

This is a must visit..Nature’s wonder. Great staff, well guided tours. Wear comfortable sneakers preferably as there is enough walking involved over steep terrains. Did not experience any slippery probably because the environment is well maintained

The visit to the caves were definitely a 5/5! As many other reviews share pictures absolutely do not do the justice they deserve. Absolutely breathtaking sights! I know it may be difficult, but the only recommendation I would make would be smaller tour sizes. Our tour guide did an amazing job! Thank you for the great day!

The caverns are the best in the state and some of the best I remember from my cavern tours over time. This is a privately run operation and they have done it right - two different cave tours, PLUS, a big investment in fun family activities that make the entire experience a destination event. doesn't feel cheap and the money you spend on the other "surface" activities are really well done. Plus, there are spaces to sit, picnic, buy food and just enjoy visiting and games. Make this a Top 5 item when you are in the area!!

It’s absolutely breathtaking (really) the atmosphere is humid and hard to breath however this is not my first time being this kind of places so was expected.Several times in Turkey and İran.I can’t say this is by far the best but nice to visit if you haven’t been such a places before.Alec was very informative and entertaining.Thank you.

I've been to Natural Bridge a few times so I think it has worn out for me. The cavern tour doesn't hold up to repeats. They have a new cavern tour that I didn't take because my kids hadn't been to the original one. Probably should have taken it. They have a maze and ropes course on the grounds, as well. We did the maze to kill time before our tour. It was relatively inexpensive and fun. The ropes course looks great but was expensive for my taste, $26.99. We probably would have done it anyway but the line was soooo long. My biggest complaint is the pricing structure. Their calendar shows that when they aren't expecting to be very busy, the tour price is lower. And raised when they expect to have a lot of business. I get that they are in it for the money, but it just seems overly greedy. Put it in the middle and just leave it. It really bothered me so I don't think I'll go back. It's something to do, but doesn't hold up to repeat visits.

The cavern tours are fantastic! Very knowledgeable tour guides. The Discovery Tour is the easier of the two tours, as it has a paved trail the whole way through. The Hidden Tour has a lot of stairs to go up and down, but it's not too bad. Both have amazing views, though! We also did the maze, which was fun but more for kids. And we also did the Twisted Trails which was a fun, unique experience. It is a ropes and zip line course. Fun, but you don't zip very fast.

This was the biggest cavern I’ve ever seen. Everyone in the family was impressed. We did the discovery tour which was about an hour. Our guide was young but, knowledgeable.
We showed up 2 hours before closing and we’re able to complete the cavern tour and the maze. I’d recommend showing up earlier to experience more of the park.

Fascinating cave systems. Our guide Donna was excellent-very informative tour. Well worth the money for both cave tours.

My husband & I loved the discovery tour! Beautiful & the million years of history is incredible. Our tour leader, Josh did an outstanding job & was very attentive and informative. Tips...wear comfortable, rubber soled shoes...no sandals, flip flops or even cowboy like boots. There ground is wet & slippery in some areas. Take a water bottle!!! You'll need it. Recommend being in decent health & shape...what goes down, must go back up. There's some steep twist & turn. And the humidity is the worst part, but to be expected. We had so much fun & had a good work out. Fyi, active military & law enforcement is free!

We visited July 12, 2023. Let me just begin by saying, I was extremely impressed upon our arrival. I didn’t realize this place had so many things to do! I wish we would have arrived earlier so we could do more exploring. The bathrooms were clean, the gift shop was adorable. Our discovery tour was amazing and our tour guide Ben was phenomenal! He was very informative, funny, and most importantly he kept my children entertained the whole time (ages 9, 6, and 4). We plan on coming back someday to do more exploring!

We did the combo tour and while we really enjoyed both tours, we liked the Discovery Tour better than the Hidden Passages tour.
Both tours take about 65-75 minutes, but in the Discovery tour, you move much faster and get to see several "rooms" and passageways. There is alot to see on this tour!
The Hidden Passages tour moves much slower. You only get to see a few "rooms" and the focus is much more on the discovery of the cave/geology than sightseeing. Its a cool tour, but I felt like we could have seen it in 1/3 the time it took.
Beware, both tours will require you to walk up slopes/steps - you are going down into a cave and what goes down must come up... Alot of people struggled to get back up the stairs on the HP tour.
We didn't do the ropes/challenge course that was there, but it looked really fun! Wish we'd have done that instead of the HP tour.
They have a gift shops and food onsite for tourists!

I really like how the cave itself looks beautiful with its structure and lighting. It's a pretty good tour throughout and is a interesting to hear the history behind the cave. Overall it's a great cave to check out.

Our guide talked very fast so we had a hard time catching all of the information, but the view was spectacular...so worth the visit. Groupon usually has tickets for a few bucks off.

This is 30 minutes away from San Antonio and a great 1/2 day trip excursion. It is very reasonably priced, the grounds are beautiful and the caverns are amazing! If you do this, get the double ticket to Discover and find the Hidden Treasures

Amazing tour with fantastic views of stalagmites and stalatites. Wear good walking shoes as some areas are slick.

It was so cool to see and the history of how the cave formed its shape is beyond cool. But remember while you go further down into the cave you will have to come back up

Well organized, interesting and fun! We purchased tickets for the Natural Winders tour in advance directly on the Natural Bridge Caverns website. Our guide was Michael - extremely knowledgeable, personable and professional.

Very touristy, but still very much worth the visit. A beautiful cave and a great overall experience. Formations are beautiful...especially the water features. Purchasing tickets on line ahead of time was more efficient. We only did the cave tour and ignored all the other attractions. We've been to many other caves in the US, and this one ranks up there with the best. Highly recommend!

These caverns are stunningly beautiful. The stalagmites and stalactites formations are multi-millennia old, fragile and beautiful. The hour long tour took us about 150 feet below the surface. It is quite steep in some areas and slippery due the water which always drips from the cave ceiling. There are rails along the walkway which many visitors found very helpful. The tour commentary given by Emily was excellent. The temperature was 70 degrees and humid. Underground streams and the crystal clear Emerald Lake were breath-taking. Gorgeous! The lighting has been recently added and is most effective in highlighting the formations. A must visit site.

This was my third time to Natural Bridge Caverns, having gone on elementary school field trips. There were three in our group, including one child (8yo). We booked the combo tour, taking the first of the day at 9am. We arrived a few minutes late (try to arrive 15-30 min prior to use the restroom), and the staff escorted us to the safety briefing of our tour so we wouldn’t miss it. They definitely didn’t have to do this, and they were very kind.
Visiting on a Monday the crowds were very light. Both of our tour groups had maybe a dozen people. Donna and Kyle were both very knowledgeable, had a great sense of humor, answered every question, and they were great with kids. They made sure everyone was safe and took their time, not rushing anyone.
Be aware the walking can be very strenuous, and it very humid in the caves. It feels about 80-85 degrees with the humidity, so this adds to the physical exertion. Be sure to bring bottled water with you - this is allowed. Although my legs are a bit wobbly afterwards it was absolutely worth it. The views were amazing, and we learned so much.
Overall, it was a great value for the experience, and I also felt like the food and merchandise were reasonably priced. If you book both tours you get a discount. I would recommend doing both. They are very different experiences. We had a lot of fun and absolutely will be back.

We had an amazing day! In addition to the cave tours, which were stunning, there was so much more to do! There are various lawn games like corn hole and connect four located around the property. The ropes course was intense! All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice tour of the caverns with lots of information. Everyone on our tour seemed to enjoy themselves.

This cavern is ABSOLUTELY stunning. We did both the Hidden Discovery and Tour one, and it was priced very reasonable. I was absolutely awed the entire time and it is worth every penny to visit the caverns. The tour guides were all very nice, however, it can be difficult to hear them as they give an explanation over the history and science behind the caverns. The mics are not very loud. My second tour was pretty packed, which made it hard to snap good photos or see everything before the group moved on - including not being able to hear the guide if you were further behind in the group. Other than that, they were really accommodating and the caverns are just beautiful.

Had a great time! We are a family of mid 20 year olds with a 6 year old kid. We went on the Discovery Tour which is about an hour and a 3/4 mile walk. There are some very steep uphill parts and it is very hot in the cavern, so be sure to wear shorts and a tshirt. You don’t have to be in amazing shape to do this tour, but I wouldn’t suggest it if you have any leg problems… however, I think the hidden passages tour is a much shorter distance. Also, keep in mind the discovery tour is not the best for super tall people. We are around 5’5” and were about the perfect height to get through the cavern with no problems.
The staff was very friendly and actually seemed like they enjoyed their job. They were very informative on the caverns.
Would love to come back again someday and take the hidden passages tour!

Didn’t know what to expect about any underground cavern tour but my wife and myself were happily amazed by not only the natural wonder of the caves but also how well they were presented. Our tour guide, Sarah, was bubbly and energetic as well as well informed and patient. So despite being underground 190ft we felt safe and secure w/her at the helm. The whole operation was well thought out and run. The gift shop was well appointed and the grounds and employees were very nice & well kept…even @ 100+ temps. Thank you all.

Loved it. I’m a fan of caverns and these ones were just what I expected. Good walk and spot to take pictures! $28 entrance fee

They cancelled our tour 6 hours before the event. When we could not go on their alternate date they charged us $100. Unfair. Policy is 24 hours free cancellation. By the time we found their contact information it was 23 1/2 hours. It was their mistake. And with only 6 hours notice on eclipse weekend there was nothing else available.

The caverns themselves are amazing thus the five stars. The staff and tour guides are good but not exceptional. Everything appeared to be quite scripted with very little ad libbing permitted. The climb out of either cavern is a bit of a hike so be prepared but we’ll worth the time invested.

The caverns were very interesting. My husband and I took the Discovery tour which I will say was a very fair price for the experience. We booked in advance but then had to change our tour time and they were easy to work with and very accommodating with our request. The caverns are stunning. I don't think a cavern tour every year would be necessary, but it's like a Bucket List item that you have to do at least once.
The only thing that I was frustrated by was the size of the tour. I think we had 20 people on ours. That was too many. The tour guide started talking at a stopping point before we had got there. That was frustrating. And we were there on a Monday at 2:00 in November which I assume isn't the high point of tourism for the caverns. Still glad we went though.
Oh! And parking was free so that was a huge plus. You don't get free parking most places these days.

Very cool to see the caverns and good relief from the heat. The maze and zipline ride are at an extra cost. There is a small restaurant that serves pizza, ice cream and drinks (and other food) and fast food in the main building. They stagger the tour times so it never feels overcrowded.

We were looking for some natural, scenic activities -- so this was a good fit for us. And while the caverns are really amazing to see, the tour was not that great.
- They cancelled the 10:30 tour, and even the tour guide was shocked at the size of the 11 a.m. tour.
- Apparently they need to go through part 1 of the script outdoors ... even if it starts to rain fairly heavily.
- Whew! Inside now ... except that the tour guide now needs to take photos of each group to try to sell souvenirs. Remember how big the tour was? The photo section is easily 20 minutes of "can you all step back so you're not photobombing?" Finally the tour begins .
- Script goes on and on, seems to have factual errors ("that part of the rock is dead because bats used to roost there" ... wait, isn't all rock "dead?")
- Tour guide had to keep trying to get stragglers to catch up. Finally had to call for help partway through the tour. Still, the 60-minute tour ended up being more than 90 minutes
- Nonethless, the caverns are beautiful and worth seeing.

My experience to the caves in San Antonio was truly an unforgettable one. The stunning rock formations were mind blowing. Some formations were formed over thousands of years.
The guided tour was informative and well-paced. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and shared interesting facts about how the caves were formed.
I highly recommend adding the caves to your itinerary. It is defined worth visiting.

good way to spend the day. We did the combo tour and it was enjoyable. we did not think either one was to tough and they give you lots of breaks. also did the zip line with our 13 year old and bought a bag of the sand to mine for rocks with our 6 year old. would recommend if in the area.

My wife and I took our 8 yr old grandson and took the discovery tour. Show up earlier and beat the crowd. Before 11 am. The dis overt tour was excellent. This entire place is well organized and all staff are very friendly. We did thee obstacle course and ziplines after and it was a blast. They have many above ground activities for all ages here. Highly recommend

The caverns were amazing. We have been through a few caverns but this one is by far the most beautiful. The only downfall is that if you are not in the best health it can be a tough walk. There are a lot of inclines to walk walk up so be prepared.

one of the best caverns / caves I have visited. although some places are steep, it is a wide, flat walkway with hand rails.

We took the discovery tour. The formations in this cave come with many varieties with amazing lightings. The tour guide was really amazing answering all questions and you could tell she is passionate about her job. One of rooms was really spectacular and very unique unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Black Friday is a busy day. Yes, the cave system is great, but so is the service in the gift area. When asked about souvenir magnets, the lady working (Michelle?) actually took me to them. She was not just helpful on a day when most store clerks would just point, she was very nice and even checked back with me to see if I was having success. Just was impressed with the personal service on a busy day.

We did the combo tour and it was great! Strenuous walk on both tours up stairs and ramps, but very pretty! !

Great underground tour of the caverns with stalactites and stalagmites, beautiful pools of water, and other interesting formations. Definitely worth visiting.

If you are in the area, this is a must see. We took both cavern tours. Both were excellent. Guides were very knowledgeable about the caverns and the area. Great formations. Pictures on the website don’t do it justice. You have to see in person.

We've been to a few caverns...this one by far is the best. It's a hike, so be prepared to walk! Awesome photo ops and the temps are perfect in the cavern. One tip: After you leave the cavern it's a hike back to the front so be prepared for that. It's under a nice breeze way, but it's seriously a hike.

The cavern is very impressive with some spectacular geological formations, however the tour group was too large. The tour guide was halfway through explaining the formations before the last people entered the room.

This place is beautiful. The underground tour is guided. Our guide, Sammy, was very informative and friendly. I see a few families joining this trip and the kids just followed the guide around asking questions.
The tour is a bit physically strenuous, especially at the last leg where we need to ascend to the ground level. On the way down it was not as strenuous but the constantly dripping water reminded me that I needed to take small steps whenever possible.
This is definitely not to be missed. The whole guided tour runs approximately for 70 minutes. There are also other activities like rope climbing available with extra charge. If you want to do the cavern tour only, 2 hours probably would be best.

Lot of fun things to see and learn. Beautiful and interesting.
Tour guide friendly and knowlesdgable.
Worth the price.

We visited our son in San Antonio and spent half the day there. Although our sons are in their 30's, we all enjoyed it and got some great photos. It is a rare treat to explore underground, without the danger LOL.

Fantastic experience. A natural underground wonder, that was incredible. Be prepared to walk through this tour.. down and up steep inclines. Worth the effort

Interesting discovery tour by guide David.
Explaining how mother nature sculpt these magnificent limestone formations!. Photo/ video can't let you have the actual feel from these art works Is a must to see it "live" with your own eyes! Do grab the coupons from hotel to have a discount on the entrance fee.

It was very hot & humid inside the cavern. It is also wet in many places as well, so be careful. We took our 3 kids and they had a good time, but we all were super sweaty; not cool like many other caverns. I do recommend it though, great experience and our tour guide as great!!

We went to Natural Bridge Caverns in 2013 but my son was too young to remember it so we decided to go back since we enjoyed it the first time. We booked the Hidden Passages/Discovery combo tour online. Last time we only went on the Discovery Tour. Just FYI...check to see if your hotel has discount tickets. Our hotel (Homewood Suites North) had discount tickets. Had I known about that, I would've gotten those. I don't know the specifics on those since I had already booked ours & I honestly didn't want to know how much I could've saved.
We arrived 30 minutes before the tour, which they recommend on their website. They have a covered area so you can sit and wait until it's time for the tour. Even though it wasn't hot the day we went, that would be very welcomed on a hot, scorching Texas afternoon. Anyway, we went on the Hidden Passages Tour first. Our tour guide was Sam. He did a great job & was very knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour. It's an hour & 15 minutes or so but it didn't feel like it because there's so much to see! The rooms are more narrow and not as open as the Discovery Tour caves were but I'm still glad we went. In between tours we had about 45 minutes to just chill out. We got Icees which were $21 for 4. A little pricey but when you've been in a cave with 99% humidity for over an hour, you'll pay it!
Our tour guide for the Discovery Tour was Jesse. I'll admit, the group I was with was louder than the Hidden Passages Tour group so I couldn't really hear half of what he was saying. A majority of the rooms are absolutely huge! There's a lot to see on this tour as well. Lots of huge formations!! The King's Throne was one of my favorites. This tour is also about an hour & 15 minutes but it doesn't feel like it either.
A warning though, on both tours the floor is constantly wet and there's lots of steps and steep inclines so be very careful!
I honestly can't decide which tour was my favorite. They were both very cool in their own way. If you're trying to decide which tour to go on, I'd suggest going on both if you have slightly older kids. The Discovery Tour would be better with younger kids.
They're in the process of adding on to the Hidden Passages Tour so we might just have to come back a third time!!

Well worth the 15 minute drive from San Antonio. Lovely show cave, not excessively difficult to walk. Not too short, not too long. Our tour group was larger than I thought ideal, and even though I visited the loo just prior to the tour, what with all the dripping water, I really, really had to GO before the tour was over - and there's a significant walk back to the visitor center where the restrooms were located. :-(

I love this place! Yes, it is a bit warm in the caverns, but the view is so amazing. When you are about to leave, the BAT is a fun ride. And when you leave, there is a course of climbing, parkour, and ziplines. I will DEFINITELY come back again.

We did the Discovery tour and it was fantastic. Our 12 year loved it and we all learned a lot. The tour guide did a great job and was very knowledgeable. The property is very nice and well taken care of. We also did the ropes course/zip lining. It was a blast even in the Texas heat. We will go back so that we can do the other tour option.

Some of the more impressive caverns I have seen, but the place is extremely touristy. The prices reflect the place being catered to tourists. They have other attractions such as a ropes course but it all costs extra money. The tour itself was neat.

Somewhat commercial but amazing just the same. Pictures in the caves can be amazing. Guides are knowledgeable and enjoy sharing information. Great spot for the entire family and well worth the cost. Much walking is involved, but that is part of the fun.

Natures wonder. Beautiful. Nice for those who like to be active. There’s lots to do at the park but the main attraction are the under ground caves. The cave tour was fascinating. Definitely wear your sneakers/active footwear. It’s good for age 5 and up. The young families holding babies on my tour struggled carrying them down into the cave; it was a bit slippery and taxing.. So I think families with little older children would get more out of the experience; those who have the endurance and have the attention span to last the hour.

Although this will wear you out going into and out of the caves, the views are well worth the effort. These caves are simply breathtaking and you need to wear rubber-souled shoes to avoid slipping. If you're heavy set, this may be difficult for you.

The Total Darkness on the Hidden Passages tour is worth the whole experience. You can never experience this unless you're a cave man, not likely, or go to the depths of the ocean, not likely. It is a really neat experience. You experience the massiveness of the caverns in the Discovery (great for the littles) - super neat water features. But you experience the awe of the caverns on the Hidden passages. Our tour guides were comedic and informative. So glad we made this part of our San Antonio trip! Be careful if you Uber - it's a bit challenging to get a ride back to town - especially later in the day.

We were visiting San Antonio during a rainy week, so we decided to visit Natural Bridge Caverns which was about 35 miles away. We bought our tickets ahead of time online and saved a bit of money by doing that. We chose the Discovery Tour because it seemed to focus on the larger formations that we were interested in seeing. Parking is easy and plentiful on site. When we arrived they sent us to the ticket office to have our tickets scanned so we ended up standing in line despite purchasing ahead of time. After you purchase tickets or have them scanned, they have you wait in a nice, covered pavilion until your guide joins you at your appointed time. We had Jarod as our guide, and he was fantastic - fun, informative, interesting; we thought he did a great job. The caverns were beautiful with amazing formations, some of them quite large, and there were gorgeous underground ice blue lakes as well. We learned all about the history of the caves, how they were formed, and how they were discovered. The entire tour took a little over an hour and was fairly easy with a few steep areas, particularly toward the end, some stairs, etc. It was wet and slick inside so be sure to wear closed toe shoes with good traction. There were handrails and paved paths throughout, and everyone was required to wear a mask. There was never any hurry to be in a rush, and our guide told everyone just to take their time and go at their own pace. It's really impressive the way they were able to develop the inside of the caverns while maintaining their natural beauty. The only thing we weren't fans of is that they had everyone remove their masks inside the cave to have photos taken; photos were then available for purchase. Probably not great for people who aren't immunized yet. In addition to the caves, there are a lot of onsite activities like zipining, a ropes course, panning for gems, little shops, and a snack bar. We loved spending the day here and thought it was the perfect rainy day activity.

This was a Great stop on our Vacation, To see the What Nature can create if left alone is amazing. we did the combo tour well worth it to see the amazing caverns that date back millions of years.

Just want to confirm that this is an amazing cave and very worth the price. I did it in Birkenstocks and was fine, but the trail is wet and I definitely watched my step along the way. It does have a big climb at one point and because of the humidity in the cave- it does get you sweaty. (I’m from Colorado and in good shape from hikes and this still got me a smidge winded) But you can take it at your own speed. Went with my teenager and a 7 year old on the Discovery. It was good stuff.

This was the best part of our weekend trip to San Antonio. We took the Discovery Tour. Our tour guide, Seth, was great. The cavern is beautiful and the tour, even though a bit more strenuous than I expected was a interesting and fun. The grounds around the park are nice, and everyone we encountered at the ticket counter, on the tour, in the gift shops, and when we got a beer was friendly. I'd like to go back when we have more time to visit the wildlife park and my husband would like to try out the zipline. I highly recommend this place.

This is a new tour through a different part of the cavern that is not accessible from the original entrance. This is the only cavern tour I've ever been on where you walk in and immediately see spectacular formations. It's fantastic!! Everywhere you look on the tour is something to photograph. And at the end, you stand on a moving conveyer belt out of the cavern, so no steep stairs to exit! I think this tour is a MUST DO for visitors to the area. HINT: There are several tours to choose from. This review is for the Discovery Tour!

The cave system was much larger than expected. It was a little bit of a hike out but not really that bad. Our guide was very informative.
Would recommend the tour.

Great cavern tour, Our guide was Anisa, she was the best, we had a small group so we had plenty of time for photos.

Excellent, my family absolutely loved it. The guide was very knowledgeable and was very friendly. This place has so much to offer. Adventure, beautiful scenery, fun memories
Your family will love this.

We were visiting our relatives in Elgin and decided to take a day trip to the San Antonio area to see the Natural Bridge Caverns. We got there late morning and it was starting to get busy. We waited about 45 minutes to go on the tour. They let in about 20 people at a time. I haven't been in any caverns since I was a kid so I was excited to do the tour. The tour guide did a pretty good job explaining the history and finding of the caverns. The cavern itself was beautiful, there is some tight pathways as you go through the tour and some steep ups and downs but there is always something to see. Make sure you have sneakers or good walking shoes on. It was amazing to me how they did all the trails and lighting. It was a bit scary knowing you are deep underground and if anything happened you were pretty much done. It was cool and very humid inside and even with all the beauty you were glad finally see daylight and be in fresh air when you left the cavern. Overall, it would be a must see for most people, there are a few other things you can do there as well along with some shops and place for refreshments.

Upon entrance, was shocked there was no discount for senior citizens! They only give discounts to military (understandable) and AAA. WHY NOT HONOR AARP? Our tour guide seemed totally bored with his job. Young children have a hard time with the scientific terminology but loved the sights.

Extremely rare, interesting, beautiful experience. Reasonably priced. Josh was a great guide. Thank you!

We had been wallowing in our overall disappointment in the San Antonio experience until we visited the Natural Bridge Caverns. The zip line and ropes course is a blast for all. The caverns are a natural wonder. The tour guide shared just the right amount of information—interesting yet not complicated.

Although not as extensive a cavern system as some, some incredibly beautiful cave formations are to be seen in Natural Bridge Caverns. The visitors descend around 180 feet underground, and the guided tour takes a bit over an hour.

We went on the combo tour which included the hidden passage general tour. We were amazed with the pristine condition of the stalactites and the straws that were in the hidden passage. We applaud the preservation of this hidden gem. The general tour is good. Not nearly as impressive as the hidden passage, but there are some very unique structures inside the caverns. The general tour is not as difficult to walk as the hidden passage . A great way to spend an afternoon.

Really beautiful caverns with impressive lighting, great tour guide (Jasson), and a serious workout. It is quite warm and damp, so dress accordingly. I’ve been to lots of caves, and this one is worth the visit if you can handle the hike

We had a great time today on the Discovery Tour. The kids thought it was cool. The adults found it interesting and I have a new topic to assign for a research paper. Yeah for homeschooling.
It was a bit expensive. We paid $96 for a family of four and only did the tour, nothing else.

This was extremely cool and worth seeing. Our tour guide was cool and we saw a lot of cool and creepy underground things, like "cave bacon."

The grounds are SO green and beautiful in the spring. A super rainy day made this a good entertainment choice. The formations in the cave are amazing. With all the rain, there was quite a bit of water on the path but the slightly textured surface wasn't slippery. Brie was a very good tour guide on the Discovery tour.

We did the discovery tour and it was about an hour long. we enjoyed it. be mindful that some parts of the cave has steep inclines so be prepared for the hile. It is moist and humid in the caves. the guide provided great information and cool seing 3,000 year old Bat poop. Will go again next time we visit, since we did not get to do the hidden treasures tour, it was full. the kids enjoyed the obstacle course.

I've been to lots of caverns and this was among the best. I'd never been in a cavern with warm temperature of 70 degrees before. Usually caverns are in the 40s. The lighting inside and well marked trails with handrails to assist on the uphill and downhill sections made touring much easier. There is an elevator that takes you to the lowest level and then you gradually climb back out. The formations were spectacular and I had never seen a "curtain" before. The outside area has playground, picnic area, and fun selfie attractions for photos. Very enjoyable.

There were 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 pre teens.
1) Book online as tickets are higher onsite
2) Go early in the morning as it gets crowded and hotter
3) We did the combo tour, Discovery & Hidden Passages Tours. When done both of the cave tours, we all agreed that the Hidden Passages Tour far exceeded the Discovery and in hindsight we would just have paid for the Hidden Passages. We were able to go at our own pace on the Hidden Passages Tour as there are staff stationed at intervals to give you info on that area and to answer questions. This allows you to get great pictures. On the Discovery you needed to stay with the group often single file and in small areas this limited photos as you knew folks were waiting behind you. There are way more beautiful formations on the Hidden Passages Tour than on the Discovery which you walk to an area where they turn the lights out, and then retrace your steps. This requires your group passing by another group going in the opposite directions In the Hidden you do not retrace your steps. It's a loop.
4) We also did the Zip Rails & Ropes Course which is fantastic. Well worth the price. Loads of different obstacles and despite the number of folks on the course, there was never a long wait for any obstacle.
5) Take food in the car to eat before you go in or come out. The food at site is kind of OK, but the lines can get long as lunch approaches.
Overall very glad we went

Amazing caverns! Interesting, full of information, safe. Nicely paced and comfortable if you don’t mind some humidity.

The view was absolutely breathtaking! I loved learning about the history behind the discovery of this cave as well as the science behind the geological formations. I even learned about geological formations such in caves such as ribbons, curtains, and drapes as well as some other processes as well! Even if you’re not into history and science, the view is worth it alone!

Captivating and awe-inspiring! These caverns are gorgeous and massive. Our guide was knowledgeable and offered many opportunities to ask questions. There was a beautiful light show at the end. I appreciated the automated ramp back to the top, as I was particularly slow to use the wet steps going down. The gift shop had some cute things. We got an outdoor light fixture and some gemstones. Highly recommend!

This is a great experience, but beware - it is not for the elderly unless you are truly fit. It is a long walk, up inclines and down. The floor is wet everywhere. Fortunately there is a handrail for most of the trail, which I hung on to for dear life. My children and grandchildren loved it but I should have sat this one out.
There is a lot more to do there than I remembered. We went to the zip line area next and my 5 yr old grandson loved it. We would have done the mining experience but ran out of time. The area is beautiful with tables for picnicking if you like. (pretty sure you are allowed to bring your own food in).

We loved seeing and feeding the animals. All kinds of Ostrich, Giraffe 🦒, deer 🦌, longhorn cow 🐄, zebras 🦓, monkeys 🐒, Rhino 🦏, and great food too.

What a beautiful cave! I was supposed to be a caveman. But I was able to use modern technology, a smartphone! I took a lot of great pictures. Sadly, this is basically for young people. The inside is steep and high. It is hard to go inside if you are age over 60s. Anyway, I love here!

We had made a mistake when we ordered the tickets weeks earlier. Our computer defaulted to the day we booked, away from the day we would be in San Antonio to do the tour. Not realizing this we booked the tickets and went on our merry way. When we got to San Antonio we realized our error and called them up. They were able to change our tickets even though they had now expired and got us on a tour the next day. They were very accommodating. The tour was fantastic and we realty enjoyed ourselves.

Great experience start to finish! Bought tickets online, entire staff coming in was very friendly and helpful. Group was a perfect size, and our tour guide David was awesome! My 11 y/o daughter truly enjoyed leaning about the caverns and we highly recommend this as a family outing!

Really impressive cave. Some really steep sections but doable for our group. Beautiful and educational experience. Just wish the group was half the size as it seemed we were always waiting for the end of the line to catch up. It was packed. My youngest was 7 and enjoyed it. I wouldn't suggest it for younger kids or toddlers. It's a lot of walking for that age and not very interesting to that age group. You have to be careful and not touch the cave which is fine for elementary aged kids and older.

Visited the Cavern (Discovery tour) and zip line park with family including young children in December ‘22. You can buy tickets online in advance or just at the place. Children 2 or under are free. We paid for the cavern discovery tour and zip line separately. Kids definitely had a great time but you Patty way too much for what you get. You pay amusement park prices for much less. Free ample parking so that’s a plus. Plan to spend a few hours here if you are doing more than just cavern and dress comfortable. Only recommend coming if you don’t mind over paying.
Explore and have fun! This cave is amazing!
This was an amazing tour! We all loved the rock formations, the dripping "cave kisses" and the fascinating tour guide! Ours was Celeste, and she was very sweet, very knowledgeable, and kept our two grandsons (ages 5 and 7) entertained for the entire hour of the tour. It was a bit more strenuous than we anticipated (my husband and I are in our 70's and somewhat out of condition.) The entrance path is quite steep, as is the exit ramp. Wearing comfortable shoes with good traction was a great idea. I'm so glad that I did! Have a wonderful time! Nature is fascinating! But bring your credit card - entry fees are large, snacks are pricy, and souvenirs abound! Panning for pretty rocks was fun, too! The clerks in the gift shops were all very nice, too. Juliana was quite helpful when I asked for some information. All in all, a lovely day!
