4 of 40 Best Attractions in Ocean City

After fishing a little off the inlet, we had lunch at a restaurant on the boardwalk. After lunch, we took a stroll which was a great way to walk off some of the calories and the ice cream cone I had during the stroll.

Lots of different restraints, tons of stuff to do. Absolutely beautiful. Lots of shops, we did an escape room too@

I have been coming to oc every year most of my life. While the boardwalk can get crowded late at night this time it was different. At only 8pm it was packed. (Many with out covid masks) the smell of weed was everywhere. Large packs of teens-20s had open alcohol and blaring loud music. For the first time in my life I felt unsafe. I was truly scared The mobs of people were yelling, angry, pushing and rude. It was horrible. Again, only at 8pm, a time that in other years would be full of families. This was not a senior week issue as some have suggested to me, because many were way older than high school seniors. It was scary and dangerous. There were only 2 police around and they did nothing to control the crowds. I will not go back to the boards this summer and may not even go back to ocean city. Oc needs to get control over this it is ruining this beautiful place.

The Boardwalk at the beginning is a free for all. Not abiding by the current rules
Quiet Storm is a clothing retailer king pen right at the entrance of town. This place has no one wearing masks. No policy on masks. No direction flow nor social distancing enforcement. It’s a war zone outside their store and 5 block circumference.
If you want issues jump on in. Civil unrest. The town has lost control and enforcement has let their guard down.
OCMD letting big retailers run the show. But no police protection anywhere down town.
If you’re smart avoid

The Ocean City boardwalk is wide and clean and well maintained. There are many clean benches. The shops are only on the west side of the boardwalk, so you can always look east at the beach and ocean. There were no bums or vagrants or beggars to annoy us. Trolleys ran on their own path so as not to threaten pedestrians. Gulls were not trained to attack people who are eating food outside.
Just the opposite of Atlantic City!
We had pizza at Caruso's and liked it. The funnel cake was, like everything else, overpriced but very good.

I have been to many of the summer coastal towns but this one was clean, friendly and SAFE. There were attractions for young and old. The hotels were within walking distance of the boardwalk with plenty of security. This is an important factor in my vacation plans. My family enjoyed the area!

Don't go on the boardwalk. we were sitting on a bench resting when a young male came up and starting harassing us. he made me so upset, I went into afib. other groups of young males were loudly using the f word continuously. people were smoking. there were also many shops run by young women of India descent where t-shirts were being sold promoting gay sex and marijuana use by bugs bunny, Mickey Mouse, the Simpsons, and other cartoon characters. we wondered if this was a violations of copyrights and if the women working there were possibly being trafficked. there were police walking the boardwalk but it didn't matter. the tram running on the boardwalk is $5 one way and you buy your ticket at the end of the boardwalk.

Too much sand, not enough water. Birds yell constantly and do not let you catch, or pet them. Too many jorts..

I like coming to the boardwalk off-season due to prices and less craziness. Overall great experience, however I would watch out to some of the stores selling hoodies and tourist OC paraphernalia. They put a lower price big and bright on the product with a small print with range of prices for the print. You don't know what you are going to pay for it until you make to the cashier. Once you pay no returns....I don't understand how that is allowed or even legal...but it is there. Be aware!
On the other side, I went to restaurant near 7th street (serves pizza e sandwiches) that jad the most kind and sweet server. Even my kids were begging me to tip well.

Beach is Great! Board walk is clean, but all the shops is a HUGE tourist trap! Stay away from the cheesy t-shirts shops! It says $5.00 but it like $14.00 Carnival area is dirty and gross. Maybe avoid it another tourist trap. Another strange thing has a lot candy shops but same candy Franchise with multiple locations. Same with some food it was odd.
We did go in the morning you can ride bikes from 6 to 11 am which we did. It about 2 miles long and it was nice.

It was nice since the ocean was right there. But many of the shop owners were very pushy and rude. And so many shops are repetitive. But there are great food options and some fun arcades.

I grew up spending a lot of time on the Boardwalk. We recently spent several days at the Capri on 110th street and it was awesome. Then I made the mistake of going to the Boardwalk.
It was a joke. I didn't know people were allowed to blast their own music, walking around as if everyone wanted to hear it, at 11 am on Fathers Day.
It is no longer the family-friendly place I grew up loving, so we will stay away and only stay up north.

Ocean City’s boardwalk is a fun place to visit. There are rides, arcades, beach shops and lots of food options. We made a fun day of it. We had Dumsers Dairyland ice cream and won some prizes from the arcades’ claw machines. Afterwards we rode the large Ferris wheel which gave us a great view of the ocean, boardwalk and bay. The boardwalk has not changed much in many years but it still a good time.

The broadwalk does not have enough restaurant or gift shops open on the other side. The trash cans were filed. Please put the tram in doing covdo

I've been coming to Ocean City since the 1960s and always enjoyed the boardwalk. It just to be family friendly but over the last few years it has really become not safe for kids after dark. The first weekend we were there dozens of fights broke out and four people were stabbed.

My wife and I always enjoy going to the boardwalk to walk around.
The atmosphere is always wonderful. But seriously, how many souvenir and t-shirt stores do you need? Every other store is selling the same beachwear, souvenirs, and t-shirts.
The boardwalk needs some new stuff.

The boardwalk was right in front of our hotel. We did not not have an issue with sitting on the boardwalk . It was not crowded and it was nice and quiet just sitting there and listening to the ocean.

We visited on the week that they opened up the rides. Not crowded, lots of fun things to do, and delicious foods to eat. The beach and Boardwalk were clean

Not a lot to do for an old guy to do here, but I liked casually riding my electric scooter up an down the boardwalk. Well they took that away, no longer allowed, yet people race up and down the walk on bicycles. They told me I had to ride on the side streets, very dangerous thanks. Maybe the bike rental companies complained. I don't think I will be back.

We’ve been coming to ocean city for generations. I’ve come every year for 62 years and I’m carrying on the tradition with my granddaughter . My parents and grandparents did the same . No matter where I travel , ocean city beach and boardwalk will always be home .

So much to see and do here. Perfect location with great views. Very fun at night as well. Haven’t had a bad dining experience yet. All the food is amazing!

Well, this is certainly an impressive Boardwalk that seems to run on for mile after mile - although actually it is at least 2.5 miles long from the inlet to 27th street. I visited it twice.
The first time was on a chilly evening, mid week after the Memorial Day weekend. There weren't so many people around and the place seemed a little sad. To be honest, it gave me the impression of one of the less appealing seaside towns in England which had seen better days. We weren't that impressed.
However, the next day was much better. The sun was shining, the sky was blue, the wind had died down and there were a lot more people about including many down at the shoreline on the broad sandy beach. I walked slowly along most of the Boardwalk taking in the plethora of fast food kiosks, ice cream stalls, souvenir shops selling typical touristy stuff and amusement arcades. As I said, not that dissimilar to a Southend-on-Sea and the like in England. What I liked was that the promenade was lined with benches so that you could sit down and rest your legs. Some were positioned so that you could see the beach and ocean. Others were pointing in the other direction to ensure essential people watching. And Ocean City certainly seems to attract all sorts.
As you walk further away from the inlet it becomes quieter and most of the buildings are hotels, holiday homes and nicer restaurants. I did see some police on bicycles which was reassuring. And I was relieved (literally) to find a least one building with pretty clean public restrooms.

It's what you would expect. Games, shops, and food. Overcrowded at times, people/families riding bikes through walking areas without care or concern. You can say you saw it then never return.

This boardwalk is really nice. It has a tram that runs back and forth for 4$ one way which is nice. It has lots of reataurants and shopping. And at the end of the boardwalk there is a amusement park.
The things that need improved are the clothing that is for sale with ignorant words for people with little kids. And we seen lots of inappropriate bathing suits.

This is a review of the inlet parking. This was the first I've been back since they installed ticket kiosks in the parking lot. If you use the inlet parking they no longer give you a ticket as you enter then take your money as you leave. Now they take a picture of your license plate when you arrive and leave. You have to know to find a kiosk to get a ticket. That would be OK if there were one for every 3 or 4 cars but there seems to be only one near the end of every two rows which means you have to find one. I missed the signs so I paid at a kiosk before I left the lot (hoping I remembered when I arrived). At a time when the lot wasn't very busy, by the time I managed to pay there was a line behind me. I can't imagine what it would be like during the busy season. If you miss paying at a kiosk they will send you a bill with an added exorbitant fee. I think they are making a bundle from unsuspecting tourists.

There is something to do here for everyone, beaches, rides, games, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum, a tram ride, food, fudge, arcades and more. The tram is $4 each way, they do NOT give you change. I ended up paying $10 but found out after the fact that I could have paid by card. I ended up taking it to see all of the sights on the Boardwalk....it took an hour and a half one way and an hour coming back. There is no option to hop on and back off again which would be well worth the price if they did. It was interesting to see the hotels from 100 years ago converted to rentals today. I grew up going to the Jersey Shore and Boardwalks so there was not much different here for me, but I still had a nice time. There is plenty of parking but you have to pay of course. The Boardwalk is located on the southern end of the strip. My hotel was 6 miles away which was perfect for me because my beach area was less crowded and so were the streets. TIP: There are amazing sunset views with seating at the southern end of the Boardwalk.

Go here every year, a nice selection of places to eat and drink. Very clean and there is a lot to do.

the wood in many areas is sticking up and is a bit dangerous. benches are great
what is there to say?

We always enjoy the boardwalk. Probably one of the worst years to date for the travel business but kept our expectations high. You made our family so happy in this challenging time. We had a blast

Three miles of hotels, condos, restaurants, tourist shops and all the way down to the amusement park at the end. The huge trophy fish near the Ocean City Life Saving Museum are impressive. Bicycles can be rented along the boardwalk. It is a great place to people watch jogging or walking by from the numerous wooden benches located on the beach side. It will be quite crowded during the summer, so it is best to go during the week in the Fall if you wish to socially distance more. Most of the people were not wearing masks.
Thrasher's Boardwalk fries are still there and still good. We thought the pizza at Stowaway Grand Pizzeria (aka Buono Vita Pizzeria) on the boardwalk was excellent. Hand-made and tossed dough and sauce. This was at 2100 Baltimore Ave, so it was higher up on the boardwalk.

Beautiful weather for May. Loved riding our bicycles on the boardwalk and stopping to have a bite to eat along the way.

Very nice boardwalk. Clean, well maintained with police and lifeguards. Would like to see a few more shops with more options other than touristy and souvenir stuff... maybe blown glass and interactive classes?!?
We felt safe and enjoyed the ocean of course!

This is a great boardwalk in the off season, fall and spring. It’s gets a little crazy during the summer. Lots of vendors selling there wares and plenty of places to eat. If you like walking on the beach, it’s a great walking beach with lots of sand between the boardwalk and the water. Our favorites are Kohr’s. ice creamy and Thrashers fries. Been going there 30 plus years!

The boardwalk has a nice feel to it. We stayed at the Courtyard on 15th Street and it was about a 30 minute walk to the inlet - where the attractions are.

I know its strange times at the moment and of course it is out of season but its a great time to grab a walk at the ocean city boardwalk. It was quiet, clean and great to a long stroll with the family and dog. Everyone we saw were adhering to social distancing and mask wearing. There wasn't much open other than the odd coffee shop, a bar and a souvenir shop but we came for the walk by the beach.

The grandsons loved the boardwalk they ate got on some rides won a few stuffed animals walked the boardwalk and loved it didn’t want to leave gotta bring them back soon it’s family friendly bring the whole family

Wow, this place is built up. Many large tall hotels mixed with the older 2 story buildings. The board walk is over 2 miles long and next to the beautiful wide beach. Not crowded in March.

Plenty of cops out to make you feel “safe”. But nice views of the ocean and lots of dining and shopping options. The pier is cool to check out. It costs 50 cents to be a spectator.

Alot of businesses are closed in winter, but there are enough open to make the walk interesting. We walked from 15th St all the way to the Inlet. Surprised by all the people!

We always love OCMD!!! This year in April 2024 we had the BEST weather! Warm skies, boardwalk fun and a couple days on the beach.

Walking the boardwalk at night is a fun experience for anyone. Even with the COVID19 precautions in place, you had to wear a mask in every store or restaurant that was open... but, it's worth it. The boardwalk was VERY crowded the night my parents and I walked it. But, that's one of my favorite things to do down there.

Will never, ever go back and grew up going here. There was absolutely NO SOCIAL DISTANCING OR VISITORS WEARING MASKS. Police and other security personnel were asked why there was no enforcement and they shrugged. In North OC everyone was following the rules. Shame on the mayor for allowing this! DO NOT GO IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH!

Had several mugging, fights and robberies after 8:30pm while we were there.
There are gangs roaming and attacking people without provocation. Also beware of using the public buses in the evening.

The Boardwalk you will get run over by bikes and the tramcar. The only good thing was seeing the OC life saving museum and the artifacts outside. The Boardwalk is crowded with a lot of rude people. Visited with family with little children. The inlet parking is a pain. They want you to pay by smartphone and the Park Mobile App doesn’t work, Texting doesn’t work either and the website doesn’t work. Spent 30 mins playing with the smartphone trying to get this work and it didn’t. Time starts as soon as you enter inlet parking. Pay by plate. So of course, I was 30 minutes behind the eight ball. I put 3 hrs of time and was granted only 2.5 hrs after finally having to put a credit card into the machine for it to take. So it limited money to give to vendors on the Boardwalk. The rides were not open. Dinosaur bones in the sand for the little children.

I went to Ocean City for the very first time as a solo traveler to decompress from COVID19 & protests. The best part of the boardwalk was riding my bike early in the morning. Very calm and free of crowds. The boardwalk has good breakfast and lunch spots. All establishments require face masks. The golden sandy beach is large enough for social distancing.
The most disappointing part of my trip is witnessing teenage brawls in front of my hotel that occurred on Thursday night around midnight and Friday night around 2am. The beach is closed 10am-6am but apparently there are no curfews on the boardwalk for adults or children. The police did show up within minutes so there is some form of police presence.

We enjoyed this boardwalk. Most of the action is at the south end near Ripley’s. There is an amusement area, life saving station, concession stands and a concrete area to ride bikes at the south end. You will find benches to sit on, restaurants with seaside dining, souvenir stores and a view of the beach the whole way. Very nice. There is a large parking lot at the south end.

Board walk is well maintained and it’s clean. Nice stroll day and night. Few restaurants and shopping stores for souvenirs and beach necessities if you forgot to bring from home.
Highly recommend for a week or long weekend getaways.

We loved the board walk. The walk up bars were awesome!! The store fronts had very friendly staff. And it was well maintained!

Great boardwalk with lots of stuff to do. Fun and souvenirs. Food and great for walking. Expensive no matter what you purchase. But to be expected.

Lovely to walk along this historic boardwalk, even off season. Cute shops and restaurants to find local treasures.

It gets a bit crowded during the summer, but it's always a great spot for walking and looking for adventure. Plenty of things to do from activities to eating. There are washing stations near the boardwalk for sandy feet (if you want to walk the beach) and fun photo ops, like a giant chair, to interact with. The boardwalk itself is wide and easy to navigate.

We visited the first weekend in November. The boardwalk was clean and even though lots of seasonal shops were closed, there were plenty that were open. We went in the late afternoon and the beach was just beautiful. Even though we are now in the off season, the Ferris Wheel was lit up and really pretty. It was actually a nice change of pace with free on street parking and very few people. We are used to parking far away or paying for parking at the inlet lot and doing lots of walking in large crowds. This time was refreshing nice!

during our week we walked it several times. We enjoyed watching the people and then sitting on the bench and watching the beach volleyball matches.

Serene and lovely on a crisp fall morning, the boardwalk in Ocean City is a different experience in the off season. Beautiful views and wide open spaces abound. The sun can still be warm and comforting, but the wind can chill you to the bone if you get a good blast.
The views are lovely and the boardwalk is well maintained year round.
Try OC for a calming off season couples getaway.

I love the broad walk we had a great night In August 2020. Everyone was wearing a mask and the social distances are good

Nice safe clean location. Police always visible. Restrooms well taken care of. Food locations clean.

I read about the boardwalk, and decided we'd stop on our trip to stretch our legs. Since it was mid-week in September, we were able to park on the street for free. We walked from 7th street to the water, which was about a mile. The boardwalk has a lot of fun stores and fast food places. The beach looked amazing. I imagine this place is hopping during the summer! I would have loved to walk the whole thing, but time didn't allow for that.

Nice boardwalk with plenty of choices for food, bars and shopping. Fun amusement park for all. Lots of entertainment and great for people watching.

We really enjoyed walking on the boardwalk each night during our stay at ocean city. During September during the week not all shops are open. We thought it would be great during the summer.

The Boardwalk in Ocean City is exciting and full of people in search of food and fun. Lots of restaurants and souvenir stores along the stretch of Oceanfront sidewalk. The trolley is fun and efficient albeit a bit pricey. Kids will love Jolly Rodgers Amusement Park and Ripley's. Many Putt Putt golf courses around the area too.

The pier and the boardwalk itself are largely the same as they’ve always been. The small shops are still there as is the $11 lemonade and the fries, ice cream, and rides. What is gone is some dignity and faintly atmosphere. T-shirt shops are now advertising openly I heart pron and I heart $luts shirts (can’t use the actual title in the review). It’s not one shop, it’s many shops doing this. While I understand supply and demand, what I don’t understand is why the gaggles of 8 year old kids walking the boardwalk have to be advertised to about I heart pronhub while eating their fries or ice cream.

I’m not sure if anyone giving this Boardwalk a great review has ever been to a New Jersey Boardwalk because if they had I doubt they’d be raving about how great Ocean City’s is. Is there a lot of shops? Yes, but not really. You see there’s really only a handful of different shops they just keep repeating themselves all the way down the Boardwalk. It’s pretty dirty so it doesn’t seem like the shopkeepers or the town itself cares too much about keeping it clean. There’s signs all over about how face coverings due to COVID are required but I would say 80% of the people aren’t even wearing them and no one is enforcing it either. The amusement parks which are run by Jolly Roger and Trimpers are about as elaborate as what you’d find at a county fair but twice as expensive so nothing to really get that excited over. I’m writing my review from the standpoint of having experienced an incredible Boardwalk in places like Wildwood, New Jersey. But even if I didn’t know the difference between a great Boardwalk and a sub par one I don’t think I’d be too impressed by this one.

The OC Boardwalk was very clean despite the multitude of people strolling, biking and enjoying the area. It is well-lit at night and police are highly visible. Lots of stores along the way if you're looking for souvenirs, food, clothes and what not.

This is a Very nice boardwalk. I love all the street performers and there is a plethora of food options. It was also nice to see police patrolling the boardwalk, and very neat that some were on horseback. The amusement pier has a lot to offer in thrill rides.

The boardwalk is really nice and safe . I walked the boardwalk the days in a row and every day the people were nice and respected your space . The bikes at night were a pain because they were going so fast passed you . I love all the restaurants along the way lots of choices

The boardwalk is full of shops, restaurants, games, and entertainment. MUST plan a trip here. I've been to myrtle, virginia beach, hilton head, miami beach, hollywood beach, cocoa beach...OC MD is my favorite because its reasonably priced, good mix of everything, and safe.

Amazing place full of fun. Great stores and restaurants for all ages. I will definitely recommend to visit this boardwalk.

I want to discuss the parking lot at the start of the boardwalk. Being September and a Thursday, there were plenty of spots. On the other hand the kiosks where you paid to park were old, confusing, and when the button was pressed for a receipt, nothing happened. Some keys had paper labels taped to them which made it even more confusing. Other keys did not work at all.
Along the boardwalk they allow electric scooters and bicycles, which are a hazard. The public toilets were dirty. I did NOT deposit a tip.

The hotel was nice but the front desk reception was horrible ruin my trip. The person on the desk was like we are bothering him. I just wanted to check in on my phone getting virtual, but it wasn’t working so I had to come up to the front Desk and ruin my trip.

My family recently visited the Ocean City Boardwalk. If you like your boardwalks busy, filled with arcades, amusements, food and people, this is definitely the spot for you.

Can be crowded and parking can be difficult. Better to take the jitney so you don't have to pay and look for parking. Just know that although the main drag from one end to the boards can be about 7 miles, it can take almost an hour to get from one end to the other especially during the day and into dining/evening hours. Just keep that in mind.

The boardwalk was clean, most guest were in mask. Some of the stores were closed. Few rides were operating and other was just running, I guess to light up the boardwalk which was to be expected.

The boardwalk offers a great variety of shops, places to eat and shops. Able to rent a bike and ride down the boardwalk.

Too many people with no Mask. I get it it may not be mandatory, but come on people we still need to do out part to try and get back to some type of being normal.

From kite flying to feeding the seagulls, biking, beach swimming, Jolly Roger’s amusement park, there were so many fun things to do! You can also get fried anything: Oreos, Twinkie’s, mac n cheese, cheesecake, etc. Don’t forget to try Thrasher’s French fries!

The boardwalk is a fun place to walk around. The only problem is that everything is quite expensive. Anything on this boardwalk is overpriced.

Beautiful boardwalk to ourselves. Enjoyed it so well. Well placed location in the heart of ocean city.

It is a great place if you have children or a young couple but to busy for my husband and I. There is an amusement park and many restaurants of any kind of food from Italian, seafood, Mexican or carnival. Great for people watching and there are a ton of hotels on the boardwalk too.

Stopped by for an off season visit. Nice, clean boardwalk. Lots of shops closed but enough were open to keep us occupied for a few hours. Nice stroll along the beach

Spending time
With husband on boardwalk and oceanfront hotel. We been married 31 years and it was our first trip alone. It was fun and romantic.

Have police stopping fights. Watched a youth, last night, June 9, 2020 getting beat up. Also, drag racing with loud cars - H2O- on Baltimore Avenue.
Hotel across street. 5 incidents in 5 days, drugs, theft of auto, fights, loud music.

Stayed on boardwalk
Never had to leave, except trip to casino.
Prices were up again, but still enjoyed eating outdoors viewing the ocean!

Ocean City’s boardwalk is a mecca for people to gather. At night the boardwalk attracts gifted artists and musicians. This is where they put their talents on display to make a few extra bucks. There’s tons of people watching, entertainment, arcade games, bars, piercing & tattoo parlors, beach fashions, shopping and let’s not forget all the good eats! Overall, we had a great boardwalk experience during our vacation. To include watching the kids enjoy the playground near the boards on N. Division St. The sand sculptures are never to be missed, the music is always enjoyable, the pop & lock hip-hop dancing is spontaneous and fun to watch. The aromas from all the restaurants and eateries are hard to resist! We saw a guy sitting on the bench in front of Guido’s Burritos with a pet snake! Yikes!! This August there was tons of doggies and even a cat that was being walked with a harness on a leash! But more than all that, you see families walking, bicycling, jogging and bonding, enjoying ice cream indulging in family traditions while on summer vacation. My advice for visitors; always use the buddy system. Anything can happen anywhere, anytime. Always take the precautions to avoid being victimized. The boardwalk is well lit at night, but never walk alone. So many people come here from all over the world. Tourism in Ocean City usually hit’s about 8 million visitors each year. Please don’t listen to all the hype from the nay-sayers. This resort destination works very hard to keep the town clean. There are 700 trash cans that are lined the full stretch of the beach and boardwalk. There is regular trash collection & twice a week pick up, as well as recycling pick-up. There are even volunteers that help keep the boardwalk and beach clean. You meet all kinds, and YES, there are people who are piggish and have no regard for our land or ocean. I give the town props, employees work tirelessly everyday maintaining the beauty of this spectacular beach. As for all the food dropped...what’s left behind on the boardwalk gets scavenged by ocean city’s wildlife. Raccoons, fox, feral cats, mice, rats and birds all do their part and clean up after humans disposals. We spotted this sly fox several nights in a row that slinks around the benches eating the disregarded food. The seagulls peck their way along the boards, devouring the edibles all day-and-night. So by the work of man and beast the beach is restored to paradise at sunrise:) I’d like to bring the attention to the local assembly of government. The devil’s lettuce was ever prevalent on the boardwalk this year. I’m athletic, healthy and happy. But, the poignant odor of skunk weed made me sad, it was a huge turn off! This is a family beach! If people want to live that dirty lifestyle, that’s fine. I just don’t want you walking beside me on the boardwalk while you’re smoking it. The jerks doing it knew the police where not around to enforce the town’s ordinance of no smoking on the boardwalk. I’m not sure how politics were being played in OC but the visible lack of law enforcement was immediately noticed. It’s been a crazy year with COVID-19 effecting the world and then the nationwide spread of media exploiting deaths for political gain. The media really had the public on edge with all the anti-law enforcement roderick and talks of defunding the police. Weak minds are being brainwashed by the left’s agenda. The statistics are not there to support their claims and we need the police...we love the police, plain and simple. Government knows society needs laws and structure. Otherwise, there’s chaos and anarchy. I am fully aware the boardwalk & beach is heavily monitored with video surveillance, but we missed the police presence. OCPD, you are appreciated more than you know!! I was heartbroken to hear of the unexpected passing of SGT. Chip Green. I would like to express my sympathy. He was a constant presence every summer when we come to visit. I have fond memories of seeing him along the boardwalk with his horse Benson. SGT. Green was invaluable and his service was first-class. I’m very sorry and sad for OCPD and their loss...rest easy brother.

We enjoyed the broadwalk . Our visit was off season and a lot of the businesses were closed but it was nice to just walk and look at the beach.

Nice boardwalk with great choices and lots of restaurants. Parking is a lot difficult. Places for ice cream and cones are the best

Great place, well behaved people, law and order. Police dont mess around with guttertrash so expect pleasant encounters along the mostly clean and tidy walks.

We were there during the Summer Fest. You should not pass this up. So many
crafts and food and music. We saw a great group that sang all kinds of music and
the oldies. I had a fantastic time singing and dancing.
Later my husband took me into the arcade. My favorite thing to do.
The boardwalk is so clean and has great food and stores. We ate at the Alaska
stand/ fantastic food for the price.

Yes, there is a vaccine. I doubt more than 1% of the population have received it, let alone the people that were in OC this weekend.
Plenty Crowded for this time of year. I was happy to patronize and see others boosting the economy of OC, just wish they were more thoughtful and cautious of and for others.

Ocean City Boardwalk is typical of those in the east. Shops, food and attractions. Frankly if you have been to one you have been to them all. The difference is Ocean City's is quite large. We walked 1/2 and we determined that we saw enough.

Been many years since I have been there we stayed on the boardwalk at 15th street. The boardwalk was very clean my only complaint was the lack of trams this was due to the labor storage but those who were working were so great.

Well maintained with no beggars with their hands out. The Governer is requiring masks to be worn on the Boardwalk. Most of the Boardwalk has enough walking space that you are far apart from each other already, except for the Ferris wheel area which is the best place of them all to wear your mask as you will be closer to people. The beach itself is large enough to be well spaced out with no worries of having to wear a mask. Fresh Ocean Air is good natural medicine as far as I'm concerned. A very enjoyable experience walking the boardwalk, enjoying the fresh air, and the many places to shop and look around.

Great place for a long walk a early morning jog and a day and evening out with the kids. Lots of family fun , our grands have loved going there over the years. We have had many a memorable vacation in Ocean City .

Nice to walk and look at the people and store fronts. Mostly all the same tee shirt shops and food. Crowded at night, had good entertainment set up. A band was playing music, a magician was set up and a unicycle magician was in another spot. A lot of jewelry stores with good prices for teenagers to buy and this year the popular theme is the hemp logo backpacks. Every store seemed to have them you can tell the boardwalk is getting old, some boards loose. Nice to walk day and evening

While I only go to the Boardwalk a couple times a summer, I find it interesting to see the beautiful beach, interesting shops, history, and all of the people watching. You can walk, bike or take the tram up an down. Always fun.

Boardwalk was perfect with few people during this pandemic. Everyone had masks on and lots of signs regarding social distancing.

It poured rain like crazy. I have never seen so much rain and flooding ever and for June and it was rather cold. We'd have to go back again some day to make things right, maybe. Hotels and restaurants are taking advantage of us. Nothing is affordable anymore. strangely the hot and humid and winds came back and dried up all the flooding the next morning. It's very sad we only stayed one nite because the morning we left was absolutely beautiful. Our hotel restaurant was closed. The ride back home was long yet kind of beautiful. But still nothing along the way worth stopping for to eat or visit. we could really use some positive reviews on anything worth doing in our surrounding area.

Between the shootings and stabbing, we will not be returning anytime soon. Watched a family from young kids to adults throw fireworks at cars on the main street. Saw a drug deal from our balcony. Toward the end of the week many businesses were closing early due to people being rude idiots.

I've been coming to OC, every summer since I was 2, that's 35+ years. The boardwalk is one of the main reasons we keep coming back. I love it and my kids love it. There's so much to do and see. We love to shop, and we love the preformers, especially the guy who spray paints awesome pictures and the guy who draws pictures of places on the boardwalk with colored pencils. They're both so talented! We can never pass up a slice of Piezano's pizza!! Literally the best pizza ever! The kids also love to ride the rides. The only thing that I hate is that when we're walking on the boardwalk, especially at night, all you can smell is weed. We watched people smoking blunts out in plain view. It's ridiculous! The cops are around, but they don't do anything. It's definitely different from when I was a kid, but we still love it.

Great boardwalk lots of shopping great scenery and great eats. Wear sneakers or flip flops or take the trolly from one end to the other.

Loved the boardwalk so many options for restaurants and shops.Loved the benches along the way to relax or take pics the views of beach are awesome.

Given a good weather walking in the boardwalk is fun. More to see and eat as you walk along it. I will recommend it. Wear comfortable shoes

It is so nice to enjoy the beach and boardwalk without the crowds and hoodlums that infest the town during the season. Very relaxing!

Lots of deals to be found in the off season! I found a super cute sweatshirt for $6. The boardwalk is a great place for a stroll and people watching. Lots of shops/restaurants closed in May but still worth a visit.

We enjoy Ocean City, MD boardwalk so much more than other eastern shore beaches.
It's clean and a lot to do. The stores are fun, especially Jessica's fudge - delicious. Our hotel is great. Very nice staff.

My 4 golf buddies enjoy a walk on the boardwalk every morning and evening when we come for our annual trip. The boardwalk is wide so no worries about pedestrian or bike traffic. I appreciate the "No Smoking" rule so everyone can enjoy the fresh salty air!

I loved the boardwalk. My teen through young adult sons loved it also. There were many shops, food items, and things to do. The beach and view was awesome. We plan to go back in a couple years, just to people watch and walk the boardwalk for a few days.

Great time with the family walking up and down the boardwalk. We grabbed food and ice cream and enjoyed the shops. The kids enjoyed the experience.

We stayed in a room on the boardwalk near 12th street. My family has been going to Ocean City, MD, to attend the Fireman's Convention for the last 55 years and over the past 5 years we have noticed an increase in the growing amount of trash everywhere and what appears to be an increasing lack of maintenance of the boardwalk. We witnessed people leaving trash on benches right in front of police officers and nothing was said or done about it. Trash is being thrown on the beach by people that are within eyesight of trashcans.
Considering the boardwalk is a smoke free zone, we not only noticed people smoking all along the boardwalk, every night we saw people openly smoking marijuana. This year with the COVID restrictions being lifted recently and the protests in the west, there has been an increase in violence (including a couple shootings and stabbings) in the city at night. During the weekend nights of our vacation, we noticed an increase in the number of large groups of older teens/young twenties on and in some cases blocking the boardwalk and acting aggressive to other individuals and groups. This definitely made our family members feel unsafe, which resulted in us leaving the boardwalk early each night. Other filth we noticed and smelled was the result of people from these groups using the bottom floor entranceway to our room as a toilet. Every morning when we would go out to the beach, we had to walk through an area where, the night before, men had been urinating under the steps. The second to last night of our stay, someone even took a dump in front of the pool door entrance.
Bottom line is I would be hesitant about taking young children on the boardwalk on weekends and after 9pm on weekdays. After all these years, my family is actively looking into other locations for our future beach vacations. The city and state need to take action now to get this cleaned up or they will definitely see a decrease in families spending their vacation dollars in Ocean City, Maryland.

Took several long walks on cold mornings to take in the sea air. Very few people around and most businesses were closed

We've never had a bad time on the boardwalk. Fresh air and good shopping. Great food along the way. Easy to spend hours watching the ocean from the benches or people watching if that's your thing.

Very good. Nice shops, and rides! We come every year. Good place for family and just The highlight of the vacation/ Ocean City. Buy… ask about the little boy run over by the trolley.

I was born in Washington DC & my family owned the trailer park at 27th st. bayside. My summers were spent in OC Md. with family, relatives & friends. Of course the boardwalk, Jolly Rodgers & now gone Frontier Town ... and Yes Thrasher French Fries are worth standing in line for !!!

There were several free experiences on the boardwalk. Cartoon mascots allowed pictures. Independent music performers kept a festive feeling throughout the experience. Tram service was abundent although the is a charge. Amusement rides werte fun filled. Best shore experience in the tri state area.

We stayed in Ocean City for 4 days in late October and had a great time but it's kind of disappointing that even when the weather is still good most of the shops and restaurants are closed up at this time of year. If you like peaceful walks on the beach and boardwalk this is the time if year to visit.

I have been going to OCMD for 28 years and I will never go back after this past weekend. For the last few years things have been getting worse in Ocean city but last Friday I took my teenage daughter and a friend for a weekend getaway. Barely any families on the boardwalk, hundreds of loud, obnoxious people blaring their music, smoking weed, arguing, barely dressed people everywhere. I truly felt unsafe at 5 pm. The amount of trash all over the town and especially on the boardwalk was so sad. No way would I spend a family vacation there ever again.

Awesome place to spend a day at. It has plenty of shops, great selection of food , lots of activities and very close to other attractions. You will need at least few hours for this place but can also spend whole day there.

Our resort offered free shuttle service & so glad I took it. The ride gives you the opportunity to see different sites & restaurants along the way.
Easy access to the clean, life guarded beach. There's a umbrella & chair rental, too.
Enjoyed the boardwalk. Barhrooms are well maintained.

Walking the boardwalk there are many stores and a few places to eat. Try Thrasers french fries, popcorn place.

The thing I love about O.C. Boardwalk is....Everything! It's an undeniably fun, clean, and entertaining place to hang out all day. I visited for the winter holidays this time and the weather permitted many businesses to still be open. Arcades, Thrasher's Fries, Ripley's, swimming, relaxing, surfing, people watching, tram rides, amusement parks, restrooms, volleyball, shaved ice, restaurants, seafood,
street performers, shopping and so much more...all on the boardwalk.

It was a boardwalk I mean it had everything you could need while you're out on the beach albeit a little bit more expensive. The outdoor showers and bathrooms were crowded as to be expected put the lines move well the people were nice no complaints

This is the dirtiest beach I ever been too. My hotel was clean but once I got too the boardwalk it was trash everywhere. All the tourist money they make they could atleast keep it clean.

My family and I visited here this July. There are many things to do on the Boardwalk. There is a Ferris wheel, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, street performers, and sand sculptures. It was a pleasant and relaxing walk. The beach is beautiful. There is a lot of shops and plenty for the whole family to enjoy!

Everyone respectful following social distancing and wearing masks. As always boardwalk was clean and mostly all restaurants and stores were open.

This is by far better than the Atlantic City boardwalk! It seems cleaner, better kept up, more to do, etc. Lots of shops, activities, eating, etc along the way! 👍

I have realistic expectations of a boardwalk. I know it’s over priced souvenirs, mediocre fast food and carnival games and rides. But I have to say that it was just very ghetto and not enjoyable at all. In general, it’s just very run down and looks sketchy. The nature of many of the shops make it difficult to social distance— just asking for an effort which is almost non-existent. Even though the Required Mask Ordinance has been extended through the end of the month, I’d say lass than half of the people had masks. That includes employees. There was no enforcement besides signs at the entrances. If you are concerned about COVID mitigation efforts and all that goes along with that, don’t bother.

This boardwalk is a historic and national gem. There is always something to do and see, while exploring this boardwalk. There are plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, clubs and attractions to keep you entertained and occupied. For a tasty and delicious frozen yogurt, I personally suggest going to Kohr. Brothers. And last of all for some delicious pizza, I also suggest going to Dough Rollers. You can never go wrong with the food at either of these two places.

Over the years, our family has visited Ocean City (New Jersey), which also has a nice boardwalk, and inevitably people tell us that we need to go to the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. So when the opportunity came up, we were delighted! Despite heavy traffic getting into the area, we were able to find parking and spent a pleasant hour or two strolling up and down, checking out the shops, restaurants, and amusements, and just people watching. The beach looked inviting, and there were restrooms placed conveniently along the way.

OCMD Boardwalk is no longer family friendly. Years ago, I would give this 5 stars. Boardwalk filled with loud obnoxious poorly mannered young people who blast their own music. Noone wears masks. There is extra police presence but it still feels unsafe especially for families with young children.

Careful on your bike below 15th street until new boards installed. Boardwalk is in bad shape below 15 st. Lots of nail popping up and badly damaged boards. Homeless issue and police and town do nothing with homeless sleeping on benches and in certain parks. Allowed to block public access points. Town will not allow to sleep on beach but if your homeless you can flop anywhere you like.

We stayed at a hotel on the boardwalk which made it more convenient. We enjoyed walking the boardwalk. Many restaurants on the boardwalk.

Really cool boardwalk with resteraunts and shops up and down. Ate at coastal salt right on boardwalk and it was good. Have to wear mask on boardwalk during covid times but such is life these days

I had never heard of Ocean City boardwalk, but wanted to spend some time near the ocean on a long drive down the Eastern seaboard. And Boy was this worth it! Shops, eateries, nice people, long beaches and ocean! This is really worth a visit, plan on at least several hours! There is so much to see.

We were there at the same time as the cruisers, so the place was really busy. However, the boardwalk and shops were well maintained, and all the people -locals and visitors- seemed to be happy and friendly. Shop owners and fellow visitors often struck up conversations with us, often about the 100lb doberman pinscher we had with us. The boardwalk and many of the shops are dog friendly. We enjoyed our visit.

Most of the stores are pretty repetitive - lots of places selling T-shirts and whatnot. The food options are mostly pizza, ice cream, funnel cakes, etc.... - carnival food, not a lot of healthier options. Some of the stuff is overpriced though.
It is a nice spot for a walk.

stopped here on way up the coast and found not much going on. Windy and beach was clean. Very touristy area.

It appeared that every venue was open, and strolling as well as riding the boardwalk on the tram was a very pleasant experience. I wish there were more entertainment on the beach or boardwalk.

Over the past 50 years we can’t even count the number of times we have gone to the boardwalk. We stay here for a few weeks every summer. It was hard believe our eyes today. The amount of garbage and debris everywhere was the least of the new problems. You could hardly go more than ten feet at a time without smelling pot. They may have to change the name from White Marlin Capital to the pot capital of the East. Yes it really was that bad. I have not even mentioned the fights, bad language, and loud explicit music. We spent less than an hour there before leaving disgusted. Town better get this under control quick.

Even off-season there was enough going on to make it an enjoyable walk on the boardwalk. The boardwalk is wide and long. Off-season you can ride bikes on the boardwalk.

Every year we plan a 2-3 night stay in OC, MD. Unfortunately, the boardwalk and local area has shifted, less to be desired, not as clean as it used to be and very much over crowded especially since we always go mid-week to avoid weekend crowds. If you are the type of person that likes to plan where you eat, activities and events to attend, I would highly advise calling ahead for reservations, some places are closed even though there website and OC, MD website says they are open with limited capacity and scheduled events on the calender and advertised in the hotels are not 100% accurate. Fireworks and boardwalk events are canceled without notice, assuming its because over crowding and compliance issues with COVID. Even the popular take out restaurants and small restaurants with no outdoor seating are difficult to get through, phones lines are busy and/or put on hold just to place an order. Good Luck!

Ocean City Boardwalk is always a must to just walk and experience the food and shopping. Always plenty to see and do. The really only issue is that most of the shops sell the same stuff.

The boardwalk is worn down, trashy, dirty and once you have walked a block or two you have seen everything there is to see. It is just rinse and repeat of the same shops (or similar shops), e.g. Candy Kitchen, Sunsations, pizza, ice cream, t-shirts, and piercing/tattoo. Nothing spectacular about that place. The food there is mediocre, the hotels are worn, buildings in a dilapidated state and the beach was full of trash. I can't see what all the hype is about.

One of the nicest boardwalk around the country. The inlet gives you a nice view of the Ocean & see as far as Virginia...

We loved our night at the water front Hilton sleeping while listening to the sound of the waves, but we were quite disappointed with the food quality both on the boardwalk and in the town.

There is something for everyone on the boardwalk, from shops to eateries. The walking surface is flat and wide and poses no problem for a senior like myself. I wish the restrooms were more plentiful and more reasonable sit-down restaurants for families would be nice. The seagulls are a constant annoyance but doubt that can be addresses easily. I would have enjoyed a tram ride but you have to start at one end or the other- how about a middle pick-up for those of us who can’t reach the ends? But just a pleasant experience, strolling along the Boardwalk, and taking in the talent entertaining here and there.

This boardwalk is nothing compared to NJ. this is my first amd last family vaca here.. the hotel we are at sucks as well. The only 1 water park here is closed. The people here are inconsiderate. Yesterday there was a father and his 8 yr old son on the boardwalk playing very loud music rapping saying the "N" WORD and everything was like it was ok ??? You could hear this for about 2 blocks. The rides are lame i have 2, 12year old and went to jolly Roger's the lady let me purchase these knowing these rides are for little kids basically. There is very little shops on this boardwalk as well. 1 main bathroom closer to the rides so you have to use stores/restaurant. There was alot of smoking weed on the board walk while families are walking past. Rude people smoking cigarettes right next to you while you are eating.

They do a great job of keeping this boardwalk clean and well maintained. Love the multitude of benches along the way, some facing the boardwalk and others facing the beach, making for great people watching either way. Unfortunately, most of the people did not have masks on, but we kept ours on, even though we were outside, and kept as much distance as we could in a crowded setting. But, it's a great place for walking and watching. We love it!

It’s always nice to walk the Boardwalk. There are a lot of shops and food choices, and I love to shop and eat; mmmm funnel cake. However, I noticed this year that most of these places have now added a 3% fee to your purchase if you pay by card (credit or debit). As if these places don’t already overcharge for their products. Not a good way to treat tourists. I, personally, will limit purchases on the Boardwalk from now on. Shame on you businesses for passing fees down to your patrons. I suggest you limit your purchases unless you are paying with cash.

First time to OCMD boardwalk.
The good: Stayed at Park Place Hotel on 2nd (Awesome location). The kids can walk around with plenty of shops, arcade and of course rides to keep them entertained. Plenty of lighting on the boards to feel safe and enough security presence to let them walk around alone. More cost effecient than OCNJ or Rehoboth, DE. Found a hotel on the boardwalk for less than $300 per night.
The bad: If comparing to OCNJ, not as clean. Some trash here and there but not a disgusting amount. Would recommend but would give people a heads up as to what to expect. The kids don’t notice things like that so if you ask them they would definitely come back.

You will find great shops and entertainment! Definitely worth the visit when you come to Ocean City!!

Probably the best Boardwalk in US lot of stores and family entertainment options available beside the boardwalk many options for food and drink very much family friendly and Ian kids enjoyed the most

Stayed in a condo directly on the Boardwalk at 12th street. Boardwalk was clean and safe. Crews cleaned up at dusk as well as early morning. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Bathrooms and direct beach access as well. So glad we stayed on the boardwalk.

Not ideal during a pandemic. We were the in July and no one had masks on which at the time wasn't mandatory. But there was absolutely ZERO social distancing. As fast as we got there was as fast as we left.

I love the OC Boardwalk. Have been visiting it for years since I was a kid. Took my daughter there in summer 2021. It is so long it took days to see it all. The food is fantastic! Don’t forget Thrashers Fries and Polish Water Ice. Shops are fun to browse and buy. Trimpers Game room and rides are awesome for kids and adults.

It was very hot that day, and we went to some shops simply to cool off. The shops were pricey, but that is expected because it is a tourist destination. The boardwalk is nice, but nothing extraordinary. Growing up in Jersey, I am used to boardwalks. We went here becasue we had heard about it, but we weren't impressed.

3 teenage girls loved the Boardwalk! Shops and junk food galore. Some good street entertainment too especially if you get a chance to watch the guy from Stellar Paintings! Such amazing work!

If you are handicapped, older or disabled forget the boardwalk. Tram is not running 2025 and don’t have time frame to restart due to safety issues. Dogs are not permitted even in carriers or strollers. It would be nice if the were even permitted in the morning hours. Not great for senior citizens unless you stay in a hotel midpoint so you have access to main boardwalk activities: shops.

Ok, not under it as this boardwalk lays upon the sandy beach. It was easy to walk and visit shops and have fun on the rides or play games. We had the misfortune one year of riding out Hurricane Floyd, but amazed how quickly the storm-surged sand was plowed back into its smooth form, clearing the boardwalk in less than a day. We were impressed with the care of those involved.

The OC boardwalk is a fun place to stroll, shops with great foods - Thrashers Fries, Dumsers ice cream, Fishers Popcorn. Playland with Skee Ball, Pokerino and many more games. Goodto just sit and watch, ride a bike, shop for gifts, etc. Just a good family-friendly place to go.

Nice clean long boardwalk. Lots of fun to walk on or ride bikes. We were there in early April so it was not very crowded but a lot of the shops were closed. Hoping to go again later in warmer weather.

Boardwalk was a crowded in some sections and people did not wear mask or social distance. Boardwalk should have directional signs oneside going down and the other for going up. People with dogs need to scoop up pee sand when there animals urinate on beach.

Ocean City has not changed in 50 years. This may be a good thing or a bad thing. There are NO healthy options for food Very little but Carbs and
sugar; the noise level on the Jolly Roger Pier is deafening with hucksters trying to get people to play games; popping balloons, roaring rides -- I guess if you think this is fun then this is the place to be. Most of the boardwalk is clean but the Jolly Roger pier is trashy and very crowded because it's smaller . Also a FEW people are openly getting high (which might be legal in Maryland) but not good for children to see or smell. Suggest a 21st century overhaul.

Off-season probably isn’t the best time of the year to visit: Only about 20 percent of business were open. Thrasher’s Fries didn’t disappoint, though. Still a fun place to people watch and if you haven’t been to an ocean boardwalk it’s still a must-do.

I have been visiting the board walk for over 50 years. There is plenty of things to enjoy for the family and adults. The highlight of the summer

Stopped by with relatives from 2 other families and staying at my mother in laws near Berlin, Md.
Some of us rode the hurricane, boy that went fast…others ride the Ferris wheel.
Got cotton candy for the kids and headed back home. Was very crowded since it was a Saturday night before Labor Day.

Low flying birds almost stop short of attacking and grabbing the food from your hands. There was a lack of entertainment.

Always love going to the ocean city boardwalk it's very entertaining. This year we actually got to stay in a hotel on the boardwalk it was so convenient. Walking the entire boardwalk was a great workout.

Used to have a different feel. Now there are Dairy Queens, McDonalds and other big corp versus local businesses occupying too many spaces. I tend to make the drive north now to Rehoboth now. Still quaint, smaller feel like OC used to be

The boardwalk was very safe. It is April so the number of people was low compaired to in season. Masks are required if it is crowded.

Two great options, take a leisurely stroll or a tram ride by all the hotels and restaurants along the beach. We did half and half since we wanted to go to the arcade and stop in some shops. A good way you see the beach and the shops and restaurants on the Boardwalk.

We had fun walking along the boardwalk, going on the ferris wheel, shopping, eating and just people-watching!

A lot of overpriced food that’s only so-so. Shops selling cheap knock offs. Rides are expensive. Everything way overpriced.

Safe, friendly and lots of different places to grab some food. The boardwalk is long so you are definitely burning all those funnel cakes off. There are shops up and down plus several ride areas. Mask wearing is optional. Most had them handy as you can not shop in the stores with out them. Bathrooms are available.

Its a part of what we do in OC every year. Morning changes but fun for ppl watching and just hanging out.

Went here three nights of our stay. Not the old boardwalk it was. Too many young people playing wireless speakers real loud. A lot of dirty people milling around. Most of the shops are overpriced junk you can get at a Sunsations. Wait for COVID-19 to end and maybe it will return to its former glory.

The t-shirts displayed at some of the store fronts are pretty vulgar. If you don't mind that sort of thing, I think there are enjoyable things to do and saw many families there in the mid-morning hours on a Saturday. The arcade was clean, and fun. Same for Ripley's. Candy Kitchen was spotless and very good. We decided not to try other food there but they have many shops available. However, my teenage daughter was very anxious and creeped out by the numerous sexual graphics and words on the t-shirts, mostly towards women. We left after a short distance but I think there were probably other fun things to do. I felt like this beach/board walk had a large city vibe to it, it reminded me of what Times Square might be like on the ocean.

If you don’t want to walk too much, stay on the southern end of the boardwalk. That’s where all the action is.

Unfortunately the Ocean City Boardwalk is not as I remembered it from 6 years ago. It has become quite trashy. People are loud and very rude. Young people actually pulling what looks like a pull suitcase but is actually a stereo blaring music out as they walk up and down the Boardwalk. Open containers of alcohol (which I'm not against unless you are visibly drunk and are spilling your beer all over people). Unfortunately, this is the last trip I will be making to Ocean City.

I love the boardwalk the shopping food it’s always a great time ! I recommend you do as well and make sure to get fishers popcorn !

I thoroughly enjoyed walking the OC Boardwalk and feeling some sense of normalcy in lieu of the current state the world is in, with the Covid 19 Pandemic. The atmosphere boomed with excitement from locals and visitors alike.
My husband and I decided to drive to MD from NJ to take a baecation. This was the Labor Day weekend.
There was plenty of sun and businesses were practicing social distancing. Masks were required and indoor eating was practiced at 25% capacity. We took our masks off for a few photo opts.
We plan on returning early tomorrow for a bike ride and some beach therapy.

Walking the entire boardwalk end to end and back gives one a measured 5 miles plus . Very pleasant. A part of it is just the boardwalk itself with the view of the nice houses, the dunes and the ocean . It is followed by the main section lined up with the variety of stores, restaurants, ice cream and pizza venues. Truly great pleasure to walk and relax.

Always a great fun place to visit relax get some great food and Ocean views at
Check to see if Tram is going on this year or not due to accident last year.Parents please keep eye on your kids always please

Had a great time with family on the boardwalk. My grandsons had such a fun time. It is a large boardwalk with lots of shops & games etc.

This boardwalk is fun to visit although it is a long walk from one ent to the other. The day we visited it wasn’t very busy so we were able to park about a third of the way from one end and we walked the end and then moved our car and walked the other end! Lots of shopping and places to eat in addition to a beautiful sandy beach. Although there does seem to be way too many T-shirt shops where you pick the design and they print it on a shirt of your choice. I’m not kidding when I say there are MANY!

Wide boardwalk, very good beach. Even you don't go to beach, there are many shops you can sightseeing, food stops for eat and drink.
Morning allowed have bike on board, it is nice to have a walk under clear sky. Very long boarwalk, and a big amusement park on downtown (end of boardwalk).
Good place for whole family have a summer break.

We will not go back to ocean city. It gets worst year after year. Trash everywhere. Most Restaurants are closed.

We spent a few hours at the boardwalk and it was a lot of fun. We went on some Jolly Roger rides, shopped in a lot of the shops, and ate some great food. We really only walked a few blocks of it, but it felt like it went on forever! Beware of the birds swooping down, my daughter got pooped on!

Great place to stroll and enjoy shops, places to eat and the beautiful ocean in the background as you stroll along.

We stay at Plim Plaza across from the sand sculpture. We enjoy the boardwalk and all the places to shop and eat.

The boardwalk was clean and not over crowded. Some people wore mask other did not as MD they are suggested not mandatory.

Best boardwalk on East Coast. OK, it's the same thing every block - food, arcade, T-shirts, jewelry - but that's what the beach is. One reason I've liked walking this boardwalk since 1975 is it's wide and well made to accommodate crowds. Free parking Monday-Thursday. It's always a fun experience.

It was cold but we still found things to do. Walking the boardwalk is always my favorite pass time. We really enjoyed ourselves.

A must visit spot in ocean city . Boardwalk is a happening place . Lots of activities for kids and adults .. lots of shopping , magic shows , kids games , restaurants , bars etc . Beach volleyball is quite common here . Love this beach . Parking is a bit crazy but we got it 5 mins away from boardwalk. You can spend atleast 5-8 hours here . Overall a very good place .. even though it’s expensive , it’s a must visit attraction when in ocean city …

This boardwalk is sooooo long. Alot of hotels, resturaunts, t-shirt print shops, beach supplies, candy shops, ice cream and arcades. There are 2 areas that have rides and ferris wheels.

Beautiful boardwalk to ourselves. Enjoyed it so well. Well placed location in the heart of ocean city. Since it was off season we got a great deal. Limited options for eating because of off season.

We have been coming to OCMD for many many years and this is our last!!! The obnoxious and overwhelming and uninhibited pot smoking is absolutely intolerable. The city needs to get a handle on this. The Post-COVID/protests/unrest in the environment and large groups of young people who are NOT interrupted by the police leave you feeling unsafe. We will take our money somewhere that it’s safe and clean.

The boardwalk was nice but I honestly expected a little more. I grew up with a real elevated boardwalk that had tons of food and rides, don't get me wrong, this place was fun and had a lot to offer. I enjoyed the entire area.

I just love the O. C. boardwalk. You can find anything you want and enjoy the beach at the same time. People are friendly and there is lots to see and do...there is also several arcades.

This was the first Boardwalk I ever visited and to me will always be the best. Lots of food places in season and little shops overlooking a gorgeous beach. Always fun to take a stroll off season and dart in the shops to warm up and talk toff the employees.

We visited here for the afternoon in mid-September during the week. The weather was a perfect 80 degrees, and it was not humid at all. We liked walking the Boardwalk. We started at one end, and about 2/3 of the way down we picked up a tram. The tram guy wasn't exactly the friendliest guy in the world-but we did enjoy riding the tram round trip.
The beach had very few people on it-and that is exactly how we like it!
We stopped in a few shops, and had a slice at Tony's Pizza. The Kite Loft was a really fun store.
We love beachtown boardwalks off-season, and on a perfect weather day-we had a perfect day!!!

It’s a fun and long Boardwalk, just choose parking carefully so you don’t overpay. You can choose a lot or, if you’re early or lucky, a good spot on a side street. Make sure to comparison shop before making any big purchases. It’s a pricey area, but you can find some good deals. Keep in mind that it can get hot! Bring a hat/visor and plenty of fluids. And choose an eatery (like Polock Johnny’s) or a store with A/C so you can cool down as needed. Having a good water ice helps, too. Finally, try out some specialties like Thrasher’s fries, funnel cake, saltwater taffy and some fried Oreos (the kids go for them, not me, lol).

This boardwalk is 27 blocks with many restaurants and shops. There is also a tram or people mover . Bike riding is also allowed during certain hours and pets are allowed off season.

Ocean city has a very nice large beach nice boardwalk area. Many shops have limited hours. Boardwalk was very clean and well maintained.

I understand the covid situation. But there didn't seem like there was any sense of Pride, by the people that worked there. No sense of common decency by the tourists; knowing that the places are understaffed but showing no regard; smoking cannabis in public areas with no regards to children or the public in general; brawling outside of bars and night clubs, no control

Been her many, many times over the years. There is something for everyone on this boardwalk from shops to arcades to food to entertainment to restaurants/bars and Ripley's and the Pier with rides and games. Oh and lets not forget the ocean and beach of course. Lots and lots to see and do.
The boardwalk goes on and on so be prepared to walk awhile or you can catch a tram for a small fee. If you get tired there are benches all along the boardwalk to sit and just people watch. And if you are an early riser you can always rent a 4 seater bike and ride up and down the boardwalk first thing in the morning which is a pleasant way to start the day.
Love this place and can't wait to go back. Highly recommended, but understand it can be a little pricey to stay and a little crowded especially on the holidays.

Dumsers Ice Cream (a must do), Grotto Pizza(Best Pizza hands down,Boardwalk Tram Ride,Trimmers Rides.

My Wife and I stayed in the Hyatt Hotel close to the Boardwalk, our experience was awesome, lucky It was a training day for the Tram (the "train" goes North-South and vice-versa) and we got ourselves a FREE RIDE.
The Boardwalk it's easy to walk, so many things to do, and different stores wife and I got ourselves match Season Hoddies, affordable prices.
We also visit Ripley's Believe it or Not, visit many restaurants around the area, highly recommended.

This area is very clean and friendly. The prices are reasonable for a tourist area. There are bars and drinking for adults but it remains friendly. There are rides for the kids and nice shops. Reasonable food everywhere.

This was our first time here and it was very enjoyable. It was very cold and rainy but we still had a great time

Rowdy young folk clog it up in warm temps. Weekends are great in the off season. Some cool towns in the mainland with history to see. As for the boards, expect the usual - drop big bucks for retro-dated rides. It's nostalgic.

Super cool boardwalk with lots of stuff to do and shop. You can eat buy stuff or just hang around for almost every age. Lots of things to do

Easy access to and from the hotel however a lot of ppl were not following the rules on the boardwalk with required masks due to COVID-19

There is a lot to do and several restaurants to choose from. Lots of families with children. Very busy and a lot of people!

Had a great time a lot of family fun. So much to do. Something for everyone. Had a great time from fun to food must do

While we did not take in all three miles of the Boardwalk, we did take in a good portion of it, mostly from the Park Place Hotel down to the Inlet area.
It was discouraging to have the garage-style door at Ripleys Believe It or Not museum brought down in front of our faces as we were walking towards the ticket window. Darn off-season.
I tried a Strawberry shake at Dumsers which was delicious and I bought some Ocean City Maryland sweatshirts for myself and our dog sitter who was caring for our mutts.
I didn't get to try the famous Thrashers fries so I'll have to remember to do that next time I'm in town.

I literally grew up coming to the boardwalk every single year. Yes, it does get crowded at times, but it’s manageable and there’s always so much you could do. Between playing games, the arcade, shopping, riding rides, eating, or even just people watching. I’m glad that I still come here because it brings back so many memories and it just takes me back to simpler times.

We visited the boardwalk and were shocked to see that almost 90% of people did not have masks on on a very crowded day. Mind you this was in early May 2021 when we were not yet vaccinated. The place unfortunately felt tacky and trashy, and there were a few drunkards loitering around. The food was good though - we had Thrashers fries and Kohr Brothers ice cream and both were tasty. Unfortunately it was not a pleasant walk at all and we left shortly. You’d find a much better scene at the northern parts of Ocean City or in nearby Bethany, away from the loud crowds.

There are lots of shops and food places to choose from. I found a nice shop that does air brush shirts for me and my grand daughter.

I love the Boardwalk. I love the sights, aroma, and the hustle & bustle. Early June brings large groups of young kids just out of high school. They are loud - just like their music and they subject everyone to their music. The "no smoking on the Boardwalk" is not enforced, nor is the "no dogs on the Boardwalk." Early June is more for the youth than the families and older couples.

Nice walk but long. Went before the season opened so there was w crowd. Unfortunately a lot of the shops were not open yet.

Really 4 1/2….because everything was really expensive. A few years ago, we did not enjoy the boardwalk because of the unpleasant teenagers being so rude.
This time we arrived late Sunday morning and everything was so pleasant. Boys enjoyed the rides, Playland and junk food. We had no unpleasant encounters.

My family loves the boardwalk, it’s part of the reason we come back year after year! There’s actually a lot to do for every age. Our daughter is 4 and she had a blast. We went into the Candy Kitchen and she wanted to ride the Ferris Wheel so we did. The only bad thing is the amusement park is rather expensive honestly.

Hotel was good, room was a little dated. Room was was a little smaller than expected. Room was clean, but not dusted very well around lighting fixtures.

This is NOT the Ocean City from 10 or even 5 years ago. It's much sketchier, way more dirty/grimey, and not nearly as enjoyable of a beach town/city that it once was. Ocean City has always been somewhat trashy but it kept that right balance between quaint town, surf/fish village, dive bar, and total dump that made it attractive middle class and affluent families from the region..
Now it's a far-from-charming unattractive mess. When you walk around the area known by locals at "OC's Dirty South" (rouglhly 10th and below) there is trash and funk caked into the boardwalk, areas overran with homeless and undesirables, signage in the southern area beyond gross and disrepair. Along with terribile city management, over policing (from years past w/ petty tickets), and the ole saying "come on vacation, leave on probation" has driven the demographic you want out of town.
Congratulations, Ocean City! You've done it to yourself. Your real estate will continue to plummit your businesses will continue to shutter, and the grime and funk will rapidly get worse. Tax dollars will decline and it will become Atlantic City Volume 2.
The younger generation no longer has aspirations of one day after graduating high school moving to Ocean City for a Summer Job. OCMD is known, locally at least, as the "trashy beach town". The town that "people who couldn't afford Delaware or The Outter banks go to. The old crusty guard that runs this town has lost sense of what this town is/was. It's fingers are not longer on the pulse and until a drastic change is made it will continue to get worse..... To much of a bad thing is always going to be a bad thing.
This demographic no longer wants to pay good money to come to a poor mismanaged dump. This town was going downhill long before COVID. Seasonal property owners are selling off their 2nd and 3rd properties here for the more desirable beaches just north of you.
The charm is gone, the demographic that comes here is now the working poor, lower class, and lower middle class. It's no longer the place you can brag to your friends that you went for a week cause they will literally say (why didn't you go to Dewey, Bethany, Rehoboth beaches, or The Outter Banks).
This town needs a new administration, and city manager to bring it back to what it once was because this is a totally different OCMD then just a couple years ago, and a wayyyyu different clientele!

We knew we were visiting off season but didn't realize so much was closed even on the weekend. Rehoboth Beach and Bethany Beach were still mostly open and busy. Ocean City was a ghost town. It was our fault that we didn't check it out before we came but we were surprised.

We had a great time walking around the board walk and every one was nice. We had ice cream and french fries and beer.

This is 3 miles of boardwalk. There are numerous shops, candy stores and restaurants. A trolley is available but it might not run past 9.30 pm. You can catch an amazing drone show in July and August. Great view of the beach.

LOTS to see and do on the boardwalk, BUT we stayed long enough to get a funnel cake and left...there were definitely too many people there, without masks even. Dangerously overcrowded!

Very good experience. Friendly staff. Clean beach. Bathrooms where clean. Just a very nice vist. Mask where being worn.

Certainly the nicest family friendly boardwalk on the east coast. Long, but not too long. Crowded, but always entertaining and full of lively characters, quaint couple and wholesome families. It's really the best blend of Americana one can imagine. This boardwalk has so many overpriced souvenir shops, overpriced pizza places, tourist traps and everything in between.

The beach was beautiful and the boardwalk is a great place to walk for exercise. The maintenance workers were repairing the boardwalk and cement barrier walls . I was so impressed how the maintenance crews were maintaining the boardwalk area . The local government making sure the boardwalk looked great for all to enjoy , impressive. I recommend ocean city Maryland to all . Have a great summer .

We walked the boardwalk and the pier. Great ocean views, lots of vendors and rides. One section of the fence was decorated with padlocks.

Excellent experience. There are a lot of things to do! The carnival rides, arcades, family dress-up photos, food...its all what you'd expect from a boardwalk :)

My husband and I frequented the restored Boardwalk July 1 - 5, 2022. It was clean and festive. Police presence was low key and non-evasive. Just making sure everything remained peaceful. We loved the shops, eateries, and people watching. Next time, we will likely rent a bicycle. My only concern was the trolly that is right in the middle of the Boardwalk. It seems a bit unsafe for the pedestrians. Not sure why they did not build a track off to the side of the boardwalk, and a lane just for bikes, and the rest for pedestrians. If so, this would be a five star rating. No matter, after an unfortunate situation caused by the General Manager of Hampton Inn & Suites on 4301 Coastal Highway, enjoying the boardwalk, water skiing, and beach bumming made it a very enjoyable visit to Ocean City Md. We look forward to returning on regular basis.

I visited the Ocean City Boardwalk in July 2021. I was lucky to find parking near the amusement rides. I walked on the boardwalk for about one hour. It was very crowded and lively. There were many souvenir shops and fast food places. I was impressed by how clean the boardwalk was. The beach also appeared to be very nice. I think Ocean City is worth a stop and a walk on the boardwalk but I am not sure I would stay overnight here.

One of my favorite go to places when I go to the beach. Lots of shops, arcades, and food. Also like to go to Assateague Island when I’m there.

Beautiful beach and not too crowded. Love the off season! Some cute stores under the grand hotel. Had a everything 7.99 and under store we got some cute shirts made and found some cute souvenirs. Also there is a coffee shop 2 doors down that has really good frozen coffee.

Walked along the beautiful OC boardwalk for an hour on January 28, 2022 - only found 2 shops open. Frigid weather & major snowstorm predicted for the next day. Will try this again next Spring...

My favorite family vacation spot has been overrun and infested with thugs and weed. I took my teen for a girls weekend and im horrified by the things she saw. Our entire hotel smelled like a giant pot cloud. Vulgar, obnoxious people everywhere you look. Fights, stabbings, mobs, tear gas...enough is enough. Word to the Mayor, stop pussyfooting around a very obvious problem. You know what the problem is, so fix it before the hard working, money spending, respectable citizens take their money elsewhere.

big and wide. lots of things to do. clean and not run down, we go to many boardwalks but this is my favorite. better than hampton beach, better than old orchard beach. better than seaside heights.

Many shops and places to eat with games, rides, souvenirs, and street art and musicians. Something for everyone in the family.

This board walk is so unimpressive...
Upon stepping onto the boardwalk, the first store I see is displaying tee shirts that say "I love sl#ts" and "I love MILFS".... Real classy... This is supposed to be a family destination but "I love sl#ts" shirts are sold at EVERY tee shirt shop. How do I explain to children what a SL#T and MILF are??? I shouldn't have to...
For food, you mostly have 3 types of food to eat. Greasy pizza, greasy buckets of french fries, or ice cream...
No parent ever: "lets go on vacations and expose our kids to sl#ts, milfs, and terrible food."

We were in the area and had never been here. You can say we are One and done. I can’t even imagine what the crowds are like in the summer. Hardly anyone was wearing a mask. Definitely not a place I would visit again. On a positive note, get Fishers popcorn, it is great!

I went in the spring and was at the very end of the boardwalk, but I did walk some of it. It's nice. A very nice thing to have. Even with when I went and where I was, there were still a fair amount of people walking and riding bikes.

Very nice boardwalk for all people to visit, see and explore while in Ocean City (OC). There a lot of nice shops, stores, and restaurants alongside the boardwalk.

Visited in late April, so the crowds weren't bad at all. I would imagine that during the summer, this place gets congested and overly busy. Definitely hit Dolle's Candyland. The taffy is good, but the chocolates are better. If you're looking for souvenirs and have some time, I recommend visiting a few places to scope out prices. The same item can cost double in some stores over others.

Absolutely love the boardwalk. Ripleys was fun and interesting, good food all around, and the rides were not too bad on the pockets. Good for kids and adults.

So much to do on the boardwalk. It's about three miles and beach, shops and restaurants. Very relaxing atmosphere. Will go back within next year or two!

Visited on a Sunday evening, NOT the boardwalk I remember as a kid. Parked at the inlet, walked to Tony's for pizza and was not comfortable. Feaful of bumping into someone by accident and something bad possibly happening. We got pizza and walked back to the inlet. We didn't get ice cream, play games or any of the usual things we would normally do while down there. There was trash EVERYWHERE, much more than usual.
Returned to the car, and the parking system at the inlet it RIDICULOUS. Apparently, you pay WHEN you park, not when you leave. You need your license plate information to enter into the parking machine and the machines are NOT user friendly. I wish they had someone at the gate that used to take your money as you leave.
Sad, very sad, hope things turnaround.

The boardwalk was great but it is a few miles long and the tram was not working at all and there was nothing that told you that it wasn't working. We were there on may 12 2022. The beaches were closed and no working tram. The bus drivers drove right passed us on 2 occasions. Also, Francos has the worst pizza on the boardwalk.

Usually boardwalks in beach towns can be iffy but I really enjoyed the one in OC. It was busy but offered alot of things to do , plenty of shops and places to eat plus a cool little amusement park area. Plenty of parking in and around the area, clean and accessible bathrooms and adequate amount of police patrolling the area. Very safe and family friendly environment.

Somethings never change and that’s why I love OCMD boardwalk! And during this time it was nice to see everyone doing as they’re supposed to and still enjoying life!

Lots of food places and t-shirt stalls with the odd bar and funnel cake takeaway to keep everyone happy. Pricey shops and a bit of a tourist trap, but thats what a boardwalk is all about. Good food and value drinks with Sport on TV in Shenanigans which is worth a stop.

We had no idea what we were walking into. We vacationed here about 6 years ago typical beach vacation no issues. Booked week of June 13 at the last minute staying up near 35th beautiful place. First night teen daughter and Mom decided to walk to boardwalk at 9 pm. Unruly crowds mounted police a lot of tension in the area. Not a family to be seen. Catcalled and we turned around and walked back along main drag where cars drag racing and people drunk at every turn. This was not a family environment and did not feel safe. We had no idea what we were getting into. Seeking a different and safer atmosphere second night we headed to Bethany Beach. There shopkeepers told us about latest happenings in ocean City Maryland in last two weeks, brawls,Stabbing and beatings. Looked it up on news and Facebook and it is true.

My best friend and I come here with her small son, age 2. For the most part we felt safe however, the later it got the more louder and fuller the crowds got. Had I been there without him, it would have been another story but, it felt safer to walk the street back than the boardwalk until you hit about 10th street. We stayed at the Comfort Inn Boardwalk on 16th street and found it to be perfect! We would walk up the boardwalk towards the beginning, see what we wanted, ate what we wanted and then come back to 16th street where it was quieter. It was peaceful there and we could really relax and hear the sounds of the ocean rather than the voices of strangers ☺️

OC Boardwalk has something for all ages. Great place to bring the family especially the little ones. The beach and boardwalk are very well-kept and new stores are popping up every summer. I'm always impressed which is wht I keep coming back year after year.

Granted we visited the Boardwalk during the week in early May, but we weren’t impressed at all.. More then half the stores were either closed or had limited hours.. Furthermore, most of then locations were your typical carny like grabs of cheap tourist products and overpriced food.. It’s a one and done for us..

You can find very nice stores, restaurants and enjoy the ocean view. At night is awesome! You can have a really good time with your family. You need just to be careful keeping the distance with people and wear your mask.

Great to do after a relaxing day at the beach. They have a playground for little ones. The one thing I don’t like is that even though you see signs of NO SMOKING ON THE BOARDWALK” lots of people still do it, so you find yourself strolling down with your little ones inhaling the smoke from ppl smoking even marijuana in some places which its more annoying.
Lots of different food to eat and things to see. Great at night.

This broad and well-maintained wooden boardwalk is brimming with shops and restaurants. Many quaint shops are actually located below the boardwalk are historic beach houses nestled between the towering hotels. This a perfect place to take a casual walk, get a meal, or a chance to sit on the benches and simply enjoy the view.

The season was just starting but there was plenty to do in the way of amusement rides, eating and shopping. It was enjoyable to walk, but must be very crowded in the summer.

Why did the boardwalk seem so big when I was a child. The funnest place to get an ice cream cone. A bucket of thrasher’s, a warm t shirt with a fun picture on it. Riding the train. Great memories.

Ocean City has a very nice boardwalk.
Plenty of walking. Plenty to eat. Plenty of people. Plenty of benches. We enjoyed ourselves. Folks were wearing their mask which was a joy to see. All the store were open and closed at around 2 an. The rides were also open.
I love see the lights at night on the boardwalk.

We visited a Monday through Friday in early October. Being off-season I expected some things closed, but it was more than expected. We only found four restaurants open (as well as NONE of the stands on the boardwalk itself minus dip n dots and the popcorn place) as we walked it Tuesday early evening. Only a couple restaurants opened the whole week, but a couple of the food stands were open Wednesday and Thursday. Just disappointing how much was closed. Not like it was the dead of winter.
Also just felt the boardwalk had a run down feel to it. Not the boardwalk itself. It was kept up with well it seemed. The benches were all in good shape as well as the boards, it was clean, and they were doing some painting. It was the buildings (mostly motels/rentals) and shops and such along it that just made the boardwalk feel dumpy and depressing.
We did like the couple snacks we had when we came across some places open. The fries at thrashers were good. Had some fried Oreos at pollock Johnny’s which were great. Ice cream for kohrs was good also.
We loved that they had plenty of benches with some facing the beach and some facing the boardwalk. That was our favorite part. We could sit and watch the ocean/beach without getting sandy. But we could also turn around and people watch for a different view.
All in all it was not our favorite place (would rather Atlantic City or Virginia Beach boardwalk), but we still enjoyed our time.

Great place to people watch. Great place to get your steps in. Can get a little loud at night. Plenty of things to do on a rainy day but of course there is the beach on a sunny day.

Busy boardwalk. 3 miles of food, fun, and families. Thrasher's fries are the best! And plenty of choices for funnel cake. The tram going in both directions can create a distraction for strolling

We took a last minute trip to Ocean City with (2) 15-year olds and (2) 12-year olds. We did not plan on spending much time at the boardwalk, but ended up going every single day. The kids enjoyed the arcades and environment. When we went during the day, it was not overly crowded. Plenty of space for everyone. But when we went back at night, its definitely a lot more crowded, but not horrible. Parking is super easy and convenient. It is $3.50 an hour (I believe the first 30 minutes are free), but I think its worth it for the convenience of not having to find street parking somewhere. We had a good time and are glad we decided to go.

Masks are required while on the boardwalk. Smoking and vaping is prohibited. 99% of businesses were open along with the amusement rides. My family had all the fun we could have....and then some!!!

We went there but instead of good natured people, we saw some undesirables in and around this filthy beach. Cars honking.

We've been to all the beach/boardwalk locations on the east coast from Virginia Beach on up to Coney Island. Ocean City, MD was the most disappointing.
It's... fine... I guess. But it gives the vibe of a place that's past its prime, and everything is a little bit worse than other beach towns. Every block of the boardwalk just repeats the previous block, and none of it's very good. The arcades have mostly older games. There isn't very much entertainment on the boardwalk; you just go from store to store and see the same cheap things. This was the first vacation when we didn't buy a single souvenir.
Most beach towns and boardwalks have a bit of their own identity and things things that are unique to the area. A special dessert treat, or a traditional knickknack. Not so with Ocean City. Just generic beach-themed garbage in every store.
The tshirt stores sell mostly lowbrow shlock designs on low end schlock shirts, but at least you can go to any one of 100 stores to get them. Lots of conservative joke shirts, lots of pro-Trump shirts, lots of "I ♥ MILFS" shirts. No modern, stylish designs, nothing the least bit fashionable or understated that you'd wear to the company picnic as a conversation started. Lots of designs you'd wear to a monster truck show.
The south end of the boardwalk is run by Jolly Roger theme parks and is a bit better. It's the old, original boardwalk, and there are traditional boardwalk/fair games and a small amusement park. The prices there are, surprisingly, not outrageous. They're not cheap, but they're in line with other similar places.
I'm not sure anyone who works there has ever eaten a good corndog or any other fried food. I was there for a week, and didn't eat a single thing that made me say "Wow, this is good." I said things like "Their fryer grease needs to be changed," or "I'm sure this was good when it was hot," or "This isn't bad enough that I want to wait for them to make another." The exception was the ice cream. All of the ice cream places we visited served exceptionally good ice cream.
The beach itself is not the best selection on the East coast. It's clean and nice, and they don't allow smoking or drinking, so it's good for families. But the shore is steep, which makes for some rough surf. People weren't really playing in the surf, so much as standing there, waiting to be pummeled by waves. Public bathrooms are farther apart than any other beach I've visited. If you don't plan well, it could be a long walk to find some place for your kid to go #2.
The restaurants in town were similarly mediocre as the boardwalk and beach. The prices for crabs were outrageous, and they don't seem to know how to cook them. We've had great crabs all over Maryland and Delaware, and every decent-sized town has a takeout crab place that will steam them to perfection. In OC? I think they hope that you'll drink enough beer that you won't notice that they're way overcooked.
All that said, we did have a nice vacation. Would we go back? Only if we couldn't find a good AirBnB rental at a location we like better. (Cape May and Virginia Beach both rank higher.)

Busier than normal this year but just as enjoyable. Good on boardwalk street entertainment. Solid food choices. Great people watching which is the essence of any boardwalk, really. Enjoy., as this is one of the best on the east coast.

Nice, clean boardwalk - great, wide walking area. Variety of shops, bars, and restaurants to chose from. Plenty of parking at the inlet.

Good restaurants, especially DaVinci’s at 15 th St.Can ride your bike on the boardwalk in the mornings, and all of the time after Labor Day.OK rides, but they are better in Wildwood,NJ.Good view of Assateague Island at the southern end.

Great boardwalk with lots of food and entertainment. Only downside was that only about half the people there were heeding the rule to wear masks during the pandemic.

The rides were very fun and engaging. They had a lot of high quality, delicious foods that I had. They had many different themes in different areas around the boardwalk. There was also a magician that showed everyone his amazing trips. It was overall a fantastic experience. And most importantly, every food was amazing and was made perfectly done.

My absolute favorite boardwalk. There is just so much to do and see. There is amazing food options on the boardwalk, some excellent shops, and you are within feet from the beach. There’s also arcade games, amusement rides, and a great pier.

This is my first time visiting the boardwalk (section with the rides). It was a very nice and family oriented place to stroll around, ride the rides, and enjoy the night life with the family.

Ocean City's Boardwalk Has something for everyone, no matter the season. There's of course, all the wonderful food choices- everything from Thrasher's French Fries to Salt Water Taffy, Funnel Cakes, Candy Kitchen, etc. Then, there are the shops- your typical tee shirts and hats, jewelry, M R Ducks shops, kites, you name it. And it is always fun to people watch as you walk the approximate 3 + miles of boardwalk. There are arcades and Ripley's Believe it or Not and Rides for the kiddies. It is always fun, even at Christmas time, when not a lot is open. More is open on weekends in the Winter than during the week.

Went for the OC Sun Fest and to meet dear friends, while taking our fall trip down the eastern shore of the US. It was cold, but the music got us dancing, and just plain happy to be at the ocean. Enjoyed frozen custard at Kohr Bros. and found the whole day very enjoyable.

What would an OC vacation be without a visit or two to the boardwalk. From riding bikes early to enjoying all it has to offer in the evening.

The weekend (Labor Day) the boardwalk was very dirty trash everywhere! Even throw up in places! It got better and cleaned up a bit as week went on but was disappointed

A fun, old boardwalk, with good vibes all around! We came in the winter when it was calm and quiet. Romantic! Clean! Will definitely come again in the summer to see what the Summer Fest is all about, but this was a nice quiet getaway that people should definitely be open to. Sometimes the off seasons make for more interesting fun...! :)

The ocean City Boardwalk is fun for all ages. It has the beach, which is wide and clean. It has rides, games, food, shops and entertainment. Parking was not an issue and there is the tram to take you to your Boardwalk destination if you do not want to walk. The down side of the Boardwalk is that it is a money pit…you will be spending!

First time I've ever been on this LONG boardwalk and didn't see one person in either direction on this rainy cool October 31st day.
Definitely good walk for exercise & tons to see from sand art to tons of shops/restaurants

We enjoyed our trip to OC. Its wicked expensive these days. We stayed in a hotel on the boardwalk and enjoyed being so close to the beach. The stores all seem to be the same now, not like when we were kids. But all in all we had a good time

My family and I had a great time in Ocean City. The Boardwalk was clean, and we ate boardwalk fries and ice cream. The beach wasn't overcrowded. We rode the Boardwalk Tram - Loved it! The cost was only $4 one-way, and it gives you a chance to see everything on the boardwalk.

A great boardwalk but a very busy one in the summer months. Stores and concession stands line the boardwalk, offering lots of options. Be sure to check out Fisher's popcorn in Thrasher's french fries, both Ocean City traditions. The Kite Loft is also a popular place. there is also sand sculptures in the summertime display in Jesus and other religious figures that are worth checking out. Street performers perform in the summer months. There's a pier beoynd the rides that provides a place to fish and view the ocean. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the amusement parks, they're to expensive and the rides aren't that great.

We stayed on 9th street, police presence at night is very good. A lot of reviews complained of the “smell of pot everywhere” and it’s been hardly existent. The boardwalk is very clean and there’s a lot of stores and restaurants. Anyone that’s worried about masks- they’re recommending wearing them on the boardwalk, but it isn’t enforced at this time. It’s nice to be able to walk down the boardwalk and have a drink and people watch. Lots of kids (not in a bad way) definitely has a better “family atmosphere” than we thought.

Stopped for a few hours while passing through the area. Personally, we were content just spending a few hours and moving on. Parking was in our eyes expensive for the time we wanted to spend. The Blue Wave Inn offered us discounted parking and were very friendly.

Best boardwalk around!! Thrashers Fries are famous, Dumsers ice cream, Fractured Prune donuts.... best foods around.

Great place.. super clean and very friendly. Not everything was open but it was late in the season but all the restaurants and shops were very accommodating and friendly.. definitely worth the trip to get out of DC!!

We spend most of our time in OC on the boardwalk. Early morning walks or jogs are just shy of 5 miles. Or rent a bike or one of those 4-seater cart things that you peddle. Lots of places to eat. Lots of benches to sit and people watch. In the evening, the boardwalk comes alive with lights and ticky tacky and quaint little bars. A tram runs during the season and there are rides and amusements for the kids.

Had a great time walking the boardwalk. Food and desserts were delicious. Lots of stuff open, but there are still plenty that are closed. Very pleasant to enjoy that ocean sun & breeze. Oh and don't forget those famous Thrashers fries & Dumpsers ice cream.

This is one very long boardwalk consisting of tacky souvenirs, subpar restaurants, cheesy attractions and lots of people, but still pretty enjoyable. Nice big beach. Lots of expensive hotels and motels right on the beachfront too. Parking can be a hassle if you’re going just for the day. There’s a tram you can pay to get on that will take you, well wherever the boardwalk goes to. Good people watching. Not a bad place to visit just don’t expect peace and quiet if that’s what you’re looking for.

Walking, eating and shopping along the OC boardwalk is a staple of shore living. There is so much to do and take in. There is a tremendous amount of history that still resides there since I started going there in the late 60's. You have to stop at Fischer's Pop Corn and Thrasher's Fries!!

There’s a lot going on on the boardwalk. My favorite time of day it was early in the morning where we picked up the start of the boardwalk near our hotel, the Hilton, and walked the 2.5 approximate miles to the very far end and back again. Crowds were minimal as things were not really open yet. Going out on the boardwalk in the afternoon and evening is a completely different experience. There’s so much going on between restaurants and shopping that it is an easy place to pass a few hours. And since it’s right on the beach, you have great access during the day if you choose to hang out on the beach.

Clientele a little more upscale than Jersey and usual food choices. Nice restrooms that were managed. Some cute shops, mostly same as WW tho with tees, sweatshirts and hermit crabs, interesting sand art on beach

Love the Boardwalk! We actually did the 3 mile hike from one end to the other. There’s something for everyone! From arcades to bars & restaurants!

I have loved OC, MD, for decades and hate to give it 2 stars. After a recent cold and rainy, monsoon-like 36-hour visit, spending nearly $1,500 in town between lodging, dining, and entertainment, I received 2 parking tickets for the 25% full inlet parking lot. I wrote a letter apologizing for accidentally being 14 minutes over the 30 minutes free window. Then, I explained being challenged with my phone and that the monsoon-like weather admittedly kept me from further struggling with the meter as I went to spend a bunch of money on the boardwalk for my 2nd offense for a "whopping" 1 1/2 hours (again in the 25% full inlet parking lot). In lieu of *$50* in "admin fees" on top of the mere $5.25 in parking fees I unintentionally didn't pay, I promptly sent payment for double the parking fee owed, pointed out all of the above, and asked to have the balance waived. Despite my hope for kindness and understanding, my check was returned with a note to pay the full amount charged. I further appealed them online noting all the above to which they continued not to budge. I'm truly heartbroken that a town I adore is so ignorant and greedy. I have worked full-time throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and just wanted to get away for the weekend. I'm sure I'll return but vacationer beware... your patronage is NOT appreciated.
