I loved this visit!!! The owner, Ms. Asquith, was very friendly and full of amazing information about the process of producing a bottle of olive oil. Her presentation was informative in a conversational way, answering all questions as they popped up. The Asquith's definitely love what they do and feel very strongly about putting out a quality olive oil! I learned so much!
When you enter into the 'green' building, where the oil pressing occurs, you are hit with the most wonderful aroma of olives! It will make your mouth water! Luckily, there is a lovely tasting room where you are welcomed to taste the many varieties spoken about, EVOO & Infused OO. A bonus is the tasting of several Balsamic Vinegars. It was a very difficult choice but I opted for the Cinnamon-Pear BV & the Basil OO & Garlic OO. If $$$ would not have mattered, I'd take them all!
I also purchased a bar of Eucalyptus OO scented soap and a Thai Coconut OO Lip Balm. I didn't have my kids with me but if I had Ms. Asquith was allowing kids in the tour to choose a soap or lip balm of their choice as her gift!
Now I know what makes a great olive oil and what a quality olive oil tastes like!!!

My hubby and I showed up too early before the olive oil tasting begins but a nice woman let us in anyway and let us taste all the olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Loved the olive trees from 1880 just outside the building. Fun time!

Visited Ojai Olive Oil- for tasting we each received a black, rectangle plastic "take-out" container with small containers of olive oil and two with different balsamic vinegar to take outdoors and sit at picnic tables. We followed the written instructions on the order for tasting. Glad we read reviews in advance and brought a slice of bread to use for our tasting. The black container is recycled after use. We bought some signature extra virgin olive oil, cinnamon pear infused balsamic vinegar and unscented olive oil face cream (used for hands). Have enjoyed salad dressings with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar- yummy!

A wonderful, family owned and operated olive oil farm. There were tastings and samples of all their products. It is set in a beautiful part of the world. The drive there may seem a bit rugged. Trust your mapping device though. It is a single lane road to the facility. Worth the effort for those that enjoy olive oil!

After driving LA, we were both wanting to experience something less traveled. Not only was the Olive Oil Co wonderful, but the town of Ojai was absolutely charming. The Company is definitely off the beaten path, but we personally found the drive there to be wonderful. I was not expecting the wide assortment. Between the oils, balsamic vinegars, soaps, and facial creams, I purchased all my Christmas gifts! We did not make the tour, and I was truly disappointed. However the tasting room and staff were incredibly friendly. (Especially for our arrival at 12:40 with them closing at 1:00. ) Charming, peaceful, quaint, and wonderful products. A must visit!

We have been here more than once, and is usually our first stop when arriving to Ojai. The oils and balsamic vinaigrette selections are spectacular, top of the line, and the tasting & tours around the beautiful olive farm are guided by very knowledgeable and friendly staff. Parking is easy, and the surrounding wilderness are is beautiful! Thank you, and keep up the good space! We will be back for more oil.

Tours closed. Could not view olive oil processing. Nice outdoor area to sit under the trees. Did not participate in the olive oil tasting for $10 since could not take the tour.

THOROUGHLY enjoyed my trip here. Educational and neat to see the farm, learn the process of how they make the oil on-sight, and indulge in a comprehensive (and FREE) tasting of all their offerings.

I visited Saturday afternoon. I had to drive through a ford to get there.
You have to pour out the oils yourself into mini cups then go and sit outside to try them out.
I suggested having a sheet of paper to write down which you like. After 21 samples I got confused!
I bought 3 small bottles as a result.
I think they could refund the $15 you pay to taste, when you buy a bottle of oil or vinegar.

A small tasting room with dozens of flavored and unflavored varieties of olive oil and balsamic vinegar (plus small pieces of bread). The oil is grown from trees and pressed on the ranch, but the balsamic vinegar is imported from Italy. The staff was very friendly and encouraged us to try them all, if we wanted to. And they explained a bit about each variety, when asked. Bottles of each variety are available for sale, of course. The location seemed a bit out of the way (GPS is your friend) and it is off of a narrow road that is essentially one-way as you near the ranch. Tours are offered only on certain days, but we visited on one of the off days. They told us we were free to walk around the groves, even when there was no tour, so we took a short walk (watch for rattlesnakes, however).

The tour was very interesting, and it wasn't too long or too short. My favorite part was the tasting room where there were many samples for us to try. They had 4 original olive oils - Provencale, Tuscan, Andalucian, and Signature. There were many flavor infused ones like lemon or garlic which were incredible!! At the other end of the room, there were creative balsamic vinegars like peach and raspberry! The best part was we got unlimited samples. I dipped bread in all the olive oils so many times it was basically my lunch. We went home with several bottles that we will enjoy for months to come.

The owner was fascinating to listen to, she did a great job keeping our interest and we appreciated her sense of humour. She really took her time with our group even though she was not feeling well - thank you! Learned a lot - only buy first press and yes you can fry with it. Sadly they had run out of stock of their own locally grown olives last season, so the olive oil we tasted and purchased had been made from imported olives. Good luck with this year's harvest!

This gem is off the beaten path and well worth a visit. We drove back up into the hills above Ojai, drove through two small creeks to arrive.
We parked, entered the tasting room and were greeted by Beth. She was so helpful and friendly. The tasting room is fairly large and filled with a variety of olive oils all made from the olives that grow on the property and Balsamic vinegars from Italy.
The tasting is well worth the $15
We filled our paper cups, put them on the tasting board along with the sourdough bread we were given and walked out to sit at a picnic table under the olive trees to taste, savor and enjoy our picnic lunch. The atmosphere is relaxing and peaceful and all of the oils and vinegars were high quality and delicious.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here, learned a lot about the olives, varieties, harvest and making the oils.
Back in the tasting room, I picked up a few of my favorites and we said our goodbyes.
A real gem in Ojai.

Visited Ojai Olive Oil Ranch last week while visiting friends in the area. Everyone there was so nice and friendly. The olive oils and balsamic vinegars were set up so that we could taste them all...they were delicious! My favorites were the raspberry and fig vinegars and the Andalucian Olive Oil. They also have olive oil soaps and creams. Check out their website; their shipping prices are very reasonable.

This was an awesome little place tucked away towards the hills and among many citrus and olive trees. We weren't there when they were doing any tours or demonstrations so that was kind of a bummer. You are able to sample lots of the different flavor oils and vinegar which is fun. It's a great place to visit, a must when you in Ojai.

We bought wonderful olive oil here despite the greeting: "you can't park there!" As it is the factory, they seemed surprised by customers.
Maybe it is different if you take the tour, or don't try to park under the trees.

Tasty olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Located up a curvy road in the east end of the Ojai valley. Friendly farmers who convey their love for the olive orchard and enjoy sharing their knowledge. Their olive trees are only 170 years old, young compared to Greece and Italy. Great experience while exploring the Ojai.

We enjoyed our free tasting. There were many delicious oils to sample. The tasting area was small but certainly manageable. Our favorites were the garlic infused and fig infused. The hosts were super friendly and accommodating. Enjoy!

We love coming up to Ojai but this was our first visit to the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch. The tour was given by the owner, Alice, who is such an interesting women. We were so lucky to have learned so much about the olive oil from start to finish. Not only did she provide information about the process of producing it but the challenges they face. She is an amazing representative of the olive oil farming community in California. Not only that we got to try some of her amazing product and of course purchased some - we can't wait to start cooking.
My only recommendation is to try to figure out when the tour starts before going as you don't want to miss out on the presentation - we just showed up and got lucky while others who came later likely will not either get a tour or will have to wait a while.

I'm so glad that we went for the olive oil farm tour and tasting! I've been enjoying the Andalusian olive oil that I bought now for a few weeks!

We were exploring and stopped by. Was a little busy there. Good olive oils/ vinegar tasting. Skipped the tour/class and just bought some stuff to go. Had handicapped family member with us making it a little difficult to travel much. BRING hand wipes/sanitizer if you want to use the port a potty toilets...

I am spending a weekend in Ojai; my original plans were to hike but an injury prevented it from happening, so I was looking for things to do. I had heard of the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch and decided to take a drive out there
I was warmly greeted by 2 employees & the owner, Alice-a very attractive lady with a definite European look to her. Since i was the first to arrive I got first dibs on all the delicious oils & vinegars they offer.
When a few more guests arrived, Alice took out outside and showed us the original olive trees-planted over 130 yrs ago (when the town was known as Nordhoff rather than Ojai) she explained that she & her late husband bought the acerage and decided to go into the EVOO production. Upon harvesting their first batch-the older trees oil was too bitter for taste, they planted several different varieties to appeal to other tastes. The French like a more bland version as they season their food their own way, while more commonly we like ours with a more robust flavor. I am kind nerdy but I throughly enjoyed the entire speech Alice gave-and I have a whole new appreciation for the crap i"ve been buying versus the exquisite oil she makes. I want to bring others out and share her vast wisdom...I'm a new fan!

Such a friendly and knowledgeable staff, tastings and conversations about the process and the pressings. I especially love the balsamic with fruit--and the olive oils pressed with fruit and /orherbs.

This is a nice, quick tour of a family business that offers unique homemade olive oil and balsamic vinegars. Nice tasting room and it's one of the things you really should do if you're in the Ojai area.

Enjoyed this trip to the tasting room at Ojai Olive Ranch. Nice to get off the tourist track and enjoy a working olive orchard. While we didn't go on the tour we did get to meet the owner who was gracious and informative. Bought some lovely oil and hand milled soaps for gifts and our own use and very satisfied with both products.

Ever been to an olive oil ranch? Experienced an olive oil tasting? Well now I can say I have done both! What a gorgeous place! So serene. Beautiful olive trees everywhere, picnic tables and even hammocks to relax in.
I was able to enjoy a socially distanced olive oil tasting and receive a great little intro/education on the history and making of their oils.
I fell in love with the Ojai pixie infused olive oil as well as the fig and east end balsamic vinegars. Can't wait to finish up what I am currently using so I can crack open these little jars of liquid gold!
Such a great visit. Will definitely be back!

Nice little day trip. The olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting was great but I was surprised to find out that there were no drinks available. Fortunately I had a bottle of water in my car, or it could have been a complete disaster.
If you go be sure to bring something to drink, the olive oil will make the back of your throat burn, as good olive oils do.
They are missing a great opportunity to sell some drinks, at a minimum some water please.

This was an informative & enjoyable tour under 150 year old Spanish olive trees. The olive oil & balsamic vinegar tasting was a treat. So many choices. Purchased some Ojai Olive Oil Co face moisturizer & lip balm. My skin is happy! Take the time to fit this stop in on your vacation.

Very good demo of olive making process. Great and friendly staff. Variety of olive oils and favorite was lemon & garlic infused oil.

This is nice short but interesting & informative talking tour under a few of the 185 years young olive trees. Ron was wonderful. Then inside for a little more information & olive oil & balsamic tasting. I was happy they also do shipping so we did not have to take on the remainder of our trip

I was again back in Ojai for a conference I do periodically, but had never had much time to see the area. This time I made an extra day to do so. I found Ojai Olive Oil in my research. You really must hit this place -- it's only a few minutes drive from downtown Ojai, you could even ride a bike there. A bit of a winding road through beautiful citrus groves and boom! you're surrounded by Olive Trees! I don't think I'd ever seen one before. They source all their olives locally and make it all right in this little building on the property. Olive oil making is VERY LOUD. The tasting room is small and comfortable, adjacent to the olive sifting (shaking and removing leaves / stems / dirt) then the rest o the pressing and centrifuge equipment. In the tasting room a very friendly and knowledgeable lady gave us the whole history, it's a 200 year old grove that had been abandoned for 100 years and bought in 1990's. You can taste everything, from their three main EVOOs (all organic) to a dozen infusions ranging from pixie orange to garlic, rosemary, lemon, basil, jalapeno, etc. Then, they also have a wide range of balsamic vinegars they buy from Modena running from basic white and dark to infusions of fig, pomegranate, jalapeno and more. They provide little cubes of read and tiny tasting cups... we tried almost everything. Highly recommend. Of course, you can buy big or smaller bottles which they happily bubble wrap for you for travel or they will ship. I highly recommend you pop in if in Ojai. You can also take a stroll around the property. They have a dog friendly area and the shop also sells some other things like olive oil creams for your face and lips and olive tree coasters.

This is a beautiful little ranch on the East end of Ojai. The owner and her staff is full of knowledge which they are very willing to share with visitors.
We toured the facility during Ojai's Farm Day. It was a real treat and gave us a good picture of what it takes to produce quality olive oil. The presentation lasted well over an hour with a nice tour of the processing room.
We learned a great deal about olive oil.

We enjoyed Juan's tour and history of the farm. Very informative and knowledgeable. The oils and balsamic vinegar's are excellent tasting. Good value

I really enjoyed this experience. The location is in the foothils near the city. I had to drive across a creek with water uncomfortably high to get to it but in retrospect that was part of the experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, and the tasting was free. Their olive trees are originally from France, Italy and Spain - most are relatively young (10-20 years), some are middle age (100-150 years). These people know what they are doing - the products are so good that i had to buy a few bottles. A trip I'd recommend.

Probably not much of an issue for most of the year, but couldn't get there today due to flooding on the road. Maybe if I had a bigger car. Shame because it looks cool!

A small winding road takes you to a beautiful olive tree grove where you park your car. There are picnic tables and chairs in the shade but the surprise awaits when you walk into the building where the stainless steel tanks process the olive oil. The tasting room has an amazing selection of olive oils infused with garlic, basil, lemon, the list goes on. Plus they have imported balsamic vinegars infused with a variety of herbs & fruits, we loved the raspberries or the best was the blackberry & ginger. There's small pieces of bread to soak up the delicious oils and vinegars, enjoy!

We were captivated by the presentation that Alice, the proprietor gave. It was very interesting to learn about the history of olives and the olive industry. After the outdoor presentation we went into the production area where we saw the various machines used in the production of olive oil.
Afterwards we went into the tasting/sampling room where we were able to sample a wide variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars, many of which were delicious .

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Full of great information and the best olive oil we have tasted! Ojai Olive oil is the best.

We love olive oil and taste it where we travel.
This small local producer was super friendly, happy to tell us all about the olives and their process.
We tasted 6 different olive oils and balsamic vinegars, yumm.
We bought a bunch and brought them back for friends.
A great place to stop in and enjoy local I've oils.

This lovely Olive Oil farm is well worth a visit. I always buy oil from them when visiting Ojai. They do educational tours as well but this may be currently suspended due to Covid. I did not inquire as I have done it in the past.

A wonderful tasting room for many fresh pressed olive oils and tasty vinegars. Grown right thereTake the tour and learn how and why in the oilve world. Purchase a bottle or two and make your recipes shine

The Ojai Olive Oil Ranch is a wonderful working ranch a few miles east of the town of Ojai. Alice runs the ranch and gives the tours. She does a superb job of explaining everything about olive oil. We followed the easy directions to get out there and were not disappointed. Each of the different types of olive oil had a distinct flavor and Alice explained why this was so. We got a clear understanding of the hard work it takes to make olives into olive oil. We enjoyed our visit very much!

The tour is educational and fun to taste the all the different varieties of oils! Anytime of year this place is a fun place to visit, you can even bring your dogs :)

This olive far was very close to town and the tour by our host was fantastic. we learned about olive oils, different types of olives, how they're picked. We walked amongst the olive trees and toured the press and bottling facilities.
Normally these free tours end with some pressure to buy something. Not here! they're really genuinely interested in telling people about their operations and teaching about olives. The olive oils and vinegars sold themselves by being absolutely delicious. We did buy some, and we'll be looking for their oils locally.

This is my second time visit Ojai Olive Oil and first time during the pandemic. Due to the pandemic, they are only offering tastings in a pre-packaged container and ask that you bring your own bread. The package included four of their most popular olive oils and two most popular balsamic vinegars. I wish they had bread on-site for purchase. Since they are able to pre-package the olive oil, I wonder why they could not pre-package some bread as well. They appear to be offering tours on the weekend only at this time.
My experience with them pre-pandemic was much more memorable as we had a tour of the olive oil process and had an opportunity to taste several more oils and balsamic vinegars.

We stopped here this weekend on a day trip to Ojai. This was our first time here and we decided to check out this Olive farm. Boy was it awesome! Not only is this a family owned olive oil ranch but they have amazing tasting olive oils and balsamic vinegars. We had a great free tour by one of the owners explaining how their family got into this business as well as how the olive oil is made. This is a small operation but the product is fantastic. We bought 2 bottles of olive oil, a violet balsamic vinegar as well as a soap. We'll definitely come back here next time we're in Ojai!

At first glance in the parking lot, you are amazed at the olive trees. Beautiful.
We did not go on the tour day but the tasting room was open. It was staffed by a lovely woman who took her time explaining the process and various olive oils. There are plenty of samples and the place is quite friendly.
We ordered the garlic olive oil and balsamic vinegar to be shipped to our home. . It arrived in perfect condition in beautiful blue bottles.
Definitely worth the drive up the mountain.

Make sure you get the directions from their website because GPS can be wrong. Due to Covid, you cannot taste the samples in the barn. They give you a tray with samples of oils and balsamic vinegars and you are free to try this at one of their picnic tables. We loved some and didn't like others. We ended up buying several bottles of the Signature Olive oil.

We had a lovely morning at this farm doing a delicious olive oil tasting. The staff could not have been any nicer and for a very reasonable price ($10) you can sample olive oil and bread to your heart's content (they have bread available but we also brought our own). We loved the garlic olive oil and white balsamic vinegar and bought them for purchase. There are several tables outside in the shade where you can eat. A really enjoyable morning!

We were taught about olive trees, olive growing and production of olive oil. I have been to a couple of olive oil production places in Europe, so it was very nice to see the production in the USA. I was very impressed with the company and tasted some vey good olive oils. A very unique and fun place to visit. Would recommend if you're in the area.

At the end of a long dirt road, the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch is a fun, informative, interesting hour. We have tried to get there for years, but they are only open for a couple of hours a couple of times a week, so we kept missing them. This time, we got there! Get a map; you'll never find it without a map. There is a "tour" of the ranch, which is really just a walk through some of the olive trees, along with a peek at the pressing room, where the process of pressing the olives for oil was explained. All in all, very interesting. But the point of going is the tasting room. The owner is a French woman who is very knowledgeable about olive oil and balsamic vinegars. She explained the difference between American and European taste in olive oil and how to use the various kinds of oil in cooking and eating. There is also a wide variety of imported balsamic vinegars which were really fun to taste. There were some cosmetics made with olive oil, creams, soaps and lotions, all for sale in the tasting room. Really really glad we finally ended up getting up there! Really worth the trouble of finding the place and the time.

Ojai Olive Oil was a pleasure to visit. Very congenial staff in this family owned establishment that produces quality extra virgin olive oils and balsamic vinegars. You can purchase their delicious special blends, as well as soaps, lip balms, etc. The tasting room was among the best I have been too – loved the garlic olive oil, and all was set up very user-friendly. We started with a brief tour outside walking among the many olive trees about to be harvested this month, and ended in the actual room when the olives are made into the class golden oils for the public. I highly recommend a stop here – will truly give you a better appreciation for this nature treat. The tour was full of interesting information and sampling the many blends was a nice treat for all!

Very informative talk on the growth, processing and final olive oil product. Good tips on how to tell good to excellent virgin olive oils. Average amount of different oils to taste. They had an area to rest, picnic or snak. There were no tours in the groves.

I was in Oxnard for a few days and heard about this place. Adventurous road getting there. Quaint little tasting area, with a plethora of unusual oils and vinegars. Very tasty.

The drive out of Ojai is a beautiful one of olive and orange groves with mountainous backdrops. It was an educational experience to see the olive trees and the tasting room of several varieties of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The guides are experienced to answer your questions. They will ship your purchases for you as well.

Just a few minutes drive from the town center, this olive ranch with olive oil production facility is an easy and interesting stop for an hour or so. The owner explains the history of olive oil production in California and then shows you the small building of equipment they use to make their products. It's free with several dozen olive oils and vinegars available to taste. My friend and I were inspired to buy a bottle of their olive oil and to try to buy Californian olive oil in the future, as 97% is imported to the US according to the tour. We expected to walk amongst some of the trees but that wasn't part of it. Easy parking. Friendly staff.

Made the trek to this place after visiting the Ojai Farmer's Market and purchased some of their oil. Lovely place. We were asked if we wanted a tour and said yes. We were asked to wait outside for the guide to come out for us. Waited about 8 minutes when he came out. HOWEVER, He was so interested in talking to the young good looking lady sitting outside he never approached us for a tour! After waiting another 15 minutes we left. Ah to getting old!

I found the people lovely, but the experience itself a bit boring. There's a lot of unrealized potential here.

Mimi did such a great job telling us the whole background of the place, pretty amazing. Lots of oils (flavored too) and balsamic vinegars to taste, we ended up shipping 6 bottles home. Will serve as great memories from our trip.

If you like olive oil, and I always worry about people who don't, then this is the place for you. Some very good quality oils with different olives and infusions. The lady who showed us around was really helpful too. Can't ask for more.

This place makes really great Olive Oil. Very well located in the East End of Ojai. Such a breathtaking place and fun leisure thing to sample olive oil. They are very friendly here.

Out of the ordinary kind of experience ...go only if you are in good health condition and love to hike.

Lovely family run organic olive farm with tasting room. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, the olive oil a treat to taste. Definitely worth a stop.

The tasting under the olive trees. Lovely place, great olive oil and balsamic. Signposting could be better.

We were looking for something to do with friends and decided to visit Ojai Olive Oil. We went on one of the tours and learned so much about olives, olive trees, managing an olive orchard and making olive oil. Our tour guide, Tim was very knowledgable and passionate about the olives and it was infectious. Our group included five children ranging in age from 9-13 years - usually a tough audience but they were fully engaged and asking questions throughout the tour. The tasting room was filled with wonderful olive oils and balsamic vinegars. There was no pressure to buy - but we couldn't resist! The lemon-infused olive oil with the fig balsamic vinegar is a delicious combination!
I would recommend a visit here with friends, family and visitors from out of town - the scenery is stunning! We brought a picnic with us and ate in the shade of the olive trees. What we should have done is just brought a loaf of bread and a few bowls to eat our oil and vinegar!
Tours run Wednesdays and at the weekend.

After being asked "how much farther" and "this is crazy" - it is about 16 miles off of the main highway on a somewhat winding road which is no big deal (also pretty country) we got there as the owner was starting a tour - perfect timing! Extremely interesting to hear and see how extra virgin olive oil is made. You start from the trees to the final product. They also have a tasting room and can buy product if you want. We bought about $50 worth and will buy more online when we run out. If you want a local product that tastes great stop buy. Tours are on Wednesday and Saturday - check website for hours.

Come to taste the oils — Provençal, Tuscan, and Andalusian. Fresh, grassy, fruity, some with natural heat in the finish. Come to learn about olive trees (they can live 1000 years), how they are pruned and harvested, and how the olives are processed within hours of being picked. These orchards have been around a long time, long enough to have trees imported from France, Italy, and Spain (imports no longer allowed). Come to see a piece of real Ojai tucked away in the foothills behind the citrus orchards in the East End. And best of all, come to meet the interesting family who loves the land and the quality product they produce.

What a great experience! Ojai Olive Oil Company is a Hidden Gem of Ojai. It can be a little adventure trying to find the olive farm, but the discovery is worth it. Although visitors are not generally allowed to walk around the farm freely, it does provide enough of an immersive experience. The working-farm is well maintained and the small store is modern and clean. Staff is friendly and welcoming. The sampling selection is quite lovely: they serve it with multiple selections of olive oils and imported balsamic vinegars. The Tuscan Herb oil and Pomegranate balsamic vinegar were outstanding. My friends purchased multiple bottles as gifts. A lovely and charming al-frescos sampling experience.

We loved learning about the whole olive oil making process from the proprietor - it really gives you such a greater appreciation for the product! And they make truly exceptional olive oil; we bought some for ourselves, and then made another stop on our way out of town to buy Christmas gifts. Definitely a must-do!

We have enjoyed Ojai Olive Oil Company's olive oils for years. We were so grateful to learn that their splendid olive orchards were not damaged in the massive Thomas fire last year. Their new Signature olive oil is pressed from ripe olives and is exquisitely delicate. The growers are very knowledgeable and eager to share the wealth of their expertise and caring for the land and trees. Seeing and smelling these amazing trees and sitting in old groves gives you a great appreciation for the oil. Take the tour, be leisurely in tasting, and then enjoy your picnic lunch that you brought with you from one of many good restaurants, delis, co-ops, groceries in Ojai.

The owners of the property have a rescued timber wolf. It's fascinating to see how the oil is made and the family is incredibly warm, welcoming, and knowledgable. Tours were low-key.

It was very educational even for my young grandchildren. Never did we all realize that there were so many different varieties of Olive Oil and infusion of the various balsamic vinegars. We left site with 6 different flavors.

Not much to see but very interesting information about olive oil farming and processing. Also great tasting room for olive oil and special balsamic vinegars.

We stopped here for a tour and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit.
The owner is very informative and describes the process of collecting the olives and making olive oil in a way that is easy to understand and very fascinating. We learned so much!
We sampled the olive oil afterwards and it you cant even compare it to any olive oil you have had before. It is amazing and beyond yummy! You can purchase bottles right there or you can have them shipped to you for a very reasonable price. The quality and freshness is no comparison to the olive oil sold in grocery stores. I will only be using ojai olive oil from Ojai from now on
They also sell olive oil soap and cream. I purchased some of these as well and within days I have seen tiny wrinkles around my eyes disappear. Needless to say I will be ordering more of everything online when I run out.
Thanks for a very informative tour!
Check their website for hours of operation before driving over as I believe the tours and the building may only be open on certain days as it is a small family run operation

We drove out here for the tour and to sample some of the olive. Very cool, informative, and delicious.

It's a good thing we had Google Maps or we never would have found this place - but we are so happy we did! We didn't have a tour but we certainly saw lots of beautiful olive trees on our way in. The tasting was so much fun - we learned a lot about the process of making olive oil and we tasted many varieties of oils and balsamic vinaigrettes with little pieces of bread to soak up the flavors. We ended up buying several bottles and they were kind enough to ship them for us at a very reasonable price. I highly recommend a visit here if you are in Ojai!

If they're still out off bread it's probably my fault. Don't come here when you're starving! I must have inhaled 60 little bread squares, dipped in their delicious, herb infused oils and vinegars. Obnoxious, I know! The setting for a little educational background on the olive oil making process is very picturesque and the tour informational. I had to skip out half way through the tour to devour said bread pieces, low blood sugar and little self control... The Lemon infused oil and white balsamic vinegar have since become staples in my kitchen and earn me frequent compliments. I usually just run with them even though I didn't squeeze a single olive myself. So Thank You, Ojai Olive Oil company.

a guided tour of the olive orchards with a well informed guide explaining the whole process as well interesting nuggets of information on the olive tree.Ended with tatsing of different flavoured olive olive , balsamic vinegar as well as soaps and other interesting products made in the farm

We learned a lot about the 8 different types of olive trees they have on the property, the history of the property itself, and how they harvest and process the olives to make their specialty oils. Some of their olive oils are infused with other oils, like that of the lemon, mandarin orange, or garlic, which creates some unique and tasty flavors. They also have other products made from olive oil and wood, and vinegars as well.
Support the local olive oil industry here in California and make sure you stop by for one of their free tours and olive oil tastings, currently on Wednesdays, Saturdays or Sundays from 10 to 4.

The best Olive Oil in CA.
If you are in Ojai Valley, do not miss visiting the Ojai Olive Oil Company. Make sure you get a map or have the correct address in your GPS. The last section of the road is a bit rough and turns into a dirt parking lot. When you get to a fork in the road you need to go left over a small water ways.
You can also attend their 20 min tour and history of the place. Check the times on their web site. They have a small tasting room which you can see, smell and taste variety of Olive Oils and Vinegars.

Although it is a bit tricky getting to this spot, a side trip to Ojai Olive Oil was worth the effort. Directions on their website were most helpful in finding them. The surrounding area is filled with picnic tables and hammock swings, which is pleasant and peaceful. We only had a small sampling of the olive oils, which had to be taken to our own picnic table, most likely due to COVID-19. I would like to come another time to actually sample more of the oils that I am interested in vs the sampling that was pre-packed for us. At least they are doing what they need to do to keep everyone safe.

this was a very interesting place to visit - learned a great deal about olive oil production. Bought a very good olive oil to take home.

This olive oil mill is located in a small canyon just north of Ojai. be sure to read the printed driving directions on their website; the 'GPS location' will not get you to the site of the visitor center and shop. The access road is narrow and paved (but not especially steep); the paking area at teh ranch is dirt. They have several different flavors of olive oils (and vinegars) for sale. The tour is informative; you'll find out how long-lived olive trees can be. While olives are not native to California, the trees do flourish here in the right weather conditions.

Their olive oil is just as good or possibly even better than from the mediterranean region - and certainly short travelled if you live in the area. Nice area to be in, and interesting history - hike, bike or a short drive from town. The people who owns and run this, take great pride in the making and caring of the olive trees.

We were glad to have GPS, but once we got there, it was a lovely visit, very nice olive oil and beauty products, no hard sell. They also had a nice picnic area, would be a fun place for a picnic!

Very relaxing and the grounds in this place are beautiful. Even provided a little personal tasting during COVID times. I left with some yummy vinegars and great olive oil. I will definitely re-visit this pace again

Great place to visit! They are following COVID protocol. We were able to buy olive oil and balsamic, just make sure to stop at Westridge to buy a baguette. Come and visit and sit in their picnic area!

We usually purchase local food products on our vacations, so decided to drive from Santa Barbara to this Ojai Olive Oil Co. Free with adequate parking. Beautiful serene grounds for a walk or a picnic with lovely old olive trees. The tasting room is clean and the employee who helped us was convivial. Many unique flavors of olive oils and all grown and processed on site. Also, vinegars available.
A plus: The bag you're given to carry your purchases is nice enough to use
as a gift bag.
The pricing is a bit steep at $20-$27+ depending on size bottle you purchase.
Would recommend and will return if in the area again.

Delightful surprise off the beaten path! Very professional and generous olive oil and balsamic vinegar tastings along with variety of olive-oil-related products. Staff was friendly and informative. They let us use their picnic tables for our packed lunch which was was set amidst 100+ year old trees. This was the highlight of our day!

This was a unique and awesome experience. There were a total of 19 oils and vinaigrettes to taste for $15 and we tasted them all! We were happy to learn they ship out of state, too. Definitely would recommend.

My husband and I saw the positive reviews for the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch on Trip advisor and decided to check it out. The owner gave a small group of us a very interesting history lesson on olive oil and how they came to be in California. And if you like olive oil and balsamic vinegars they have some amazing flavor combinations. Definitely worth the stop.

A tour of this family-owned olive oil producer was a delight because of the quality of the tour and what we learned about what constitutes fine olive oil. The owner, Alice, met us beneath some old trees and settled us in at picnic tables while she explained the history of the ranch, the eight varieties of olives planted there (2 Spanish, 3 French, 2 Italian and one from trees planted in the late 1800's that were on the property when she and her husband bought it). She then took us into the production room and explained the entire milling process while showing us the equipment and the production line. This was followed by the chance to taste some of the olive oils, a fabulous way to get a comparison of oils of varying acidity, some of the oils they produce that are infused with lemon or herbs, and some specialty vinegars that she imports. I had toured an artisinal olive oil producer in Sicily but Alice's tour was the most enlightening I've had. She was very clear in her explanations and you come away understanding what extra virgin means and how it is different from pomace and why the lovingly produced extra virgin is so delicious and special.

The guide (Owner) was very informative and about the processing of pure olive oil. She was enjoyable to listen to and answered all of our questions. The Ranch is a little hard to find, but worth looking for. It was peaceful and located in a beautiful setting. The samples were really yummy!

After a great hike, I brought my yoga retreat to Ojai Olive Oil, and we had a fabulous experience! Phil Asquith was a fantastic host. First, we had a wonderful tour of the grounds complete with a history of the olive farm, then we tasted of the olive oil with an explanation of the different types of olive oils, and also had the opportunity to try balsamic vinegars, lotions and lip balms. Then we enjoyed a picnic under the old growth olive trees, adding the delicious olive oil to our lunch. One of our group even took a nap in the shade! It was a beautiful end to our retreat.

We got to visit this gem of a place today. It was terrific. We did a tour and then visited the tasting room. The olive oil and the balsamic vinegars were both delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. It was a great stop!

We learned so much from our visit about olives and the right way to process them. The staff was Meme and Beth and they were very patient as we asked questioned and tasted everything. The olive oil is the best we have ever had and will be sure to ship some regularly to our home in PA. Thank you Beth and Meme.

very educational and easy to listen to. nice products. picnic tables . nice grounds. 3 types olive trees and press on site, seasonally

There isn't much pizazz to the modest structure that houses the olive oil making equipment and tasting area, but don't be deterred! We sat outside under the 150 year old olive trees and learned about the different olive varieties, how the olives develop, when they're ready for harvest, and how the trees are pruned and cared for, amongst other stories and facts. The founder's widow is extremely sweet and endearing and we loved hearing her talk. During the inside portion of the visit, we learned how the olives are turned into oil, then got to taste the many delicious oils and vinegars imported from Italy.
They were kind enough to pack our purchase in bubble wrap and plastic bags so we could pack them in our suitcases.
Note: there wasn't a tour component of our visit, more so just an informational session. Enjoyable nonetheless.

This is a great place to bring your significant other, friends, and family with kids. There are plenty of places to sit and relax in the shade of olive trees while tasting the daily selection of olive oils and kinds of vinegar available. I suggest bring some snacks and bread to enjoy the experience.

Tasting room is air conditioned but you have to go outside after you select what you want to taste. On a day that was 90 degrees, this was not the most pleasant experience. Parking is not as convenient as it could be. Drive is on narrow, winding streets that sometimes are too narrow to permit two cars going in opposite directions to pass.

This is really an interesting stop to make. The staff are extremely friendly and informative. They will explain the history of the olive oil production in the area and demonstrate the process. You are then free to taste the oils and vinegar. After tasting all the combinations we walked away with several bottles of both. This was not originally a stop I was looking forward to, but I am glad for my wife's persistence.

The "tour" was just a narrative on the different product. Nothing was explained about the growing or harvesting or pressing. Tasting was offered of 6 different oils. Things may have been limited due to COVID restrictions.

I joined a women's group for a free guided tour and tasting at the Ojai Olive Oil Company, beautifully nestled in the Ojai Valley. Such natural beauty and staffed by such a knowledgeable docent (Meme). Meme provided the history of the original Spanish trees, the dedicated owners, the processing, how to handle the oil when you purchase it and all the different tastes. The tour does not take long and the tasting is eye opening. Who knew there was so many different kinds of oil. I think I was more surprised at what I did not know about the entire process, down to it's possible uses other than cooking. So enjoyable specifically presented by Meme. Great personality, very knowledgeable and a fire cracker personality. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Going to take my husband back for the experience.

It was fun learning about the olive oil history and production. Tours are Wednesdays and Saturday. We went on a Saturday, sat under the Olive trees, heard about the History of the ranch, and then had a tour of the production facility. The olive oil is delicious. She has a few soaps, a face cream, and a lip balm all made from olive oil. The balsamic vinegars she has are great (from Modena, Italy), lots of fun flavors.

I love coming here. Sometimes, if you hit it at the right time, you'll get a long-winded but very informative lecture about how olives are grown and oil made, by the French/British woman who runs the place. I learn something new every time -- fun for a food fan like me.
There is no doubt that "real' olive oil -- oil from organically grown fruit that is processed within hours of being picked -- makes an exceptional difference to those who love to taste the actual olives in their food. This company offers three varieties, my favorite of which is the suitable-for-any-meal Tuscan version. They also import and brand aged balsamic vinegars from Italy, which I've been buying from them for years. The peach- and garlic-infused varieties are exceptional.
My only compliant is the price: $25 for a tall but thin bottle of oil is a lot. Other than that, this is a fun and off-the-beaten-path thing to do in Ojai.

The owner spent a great deal of time with us explaining the harvesting and pressing process. The oils we tasted were excellent.

We stopped here at the end of March for an olive oil tasting during our visiting to Ojai. Everyone there was very helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we went on a day that they didn't do tours but its worth it just for the tasting. We ending up purchasing three bottles of oil and three of balsamic vinegar because they ship for free!

We enjoyed the nice tour and history of the ranch. Questions were answered readily and we learned quite a lot about the olive trees, the production of olive oil, and what makes a good oil. There is also a very nice little tasting room. Friendly laid-back atmosphere. We took a picnic and sat at the picnic tables under the olive trees.

We stopped by here while on a relaxing just do anything vacation. We were given a short history of the ranch and the processing of olive oil. I am not a fan of olive oil but I love a good balsamic vinegar and there were plenty here. We tested all of them and loved (and bought) the fig and pomegranate. A little out of the way but nice place. When you are driving there the GPS may steer you wrong. Just look for the signs and make a left off Ladera onto Hermitage Road. You will see the small signs for the olive oil ranch. The drive is through olive and avocado trees.

I would definitely recommend taking the tour and enjoying the whole experience. We were tasting (& purchasing) yummy olive oils for at least an hour after the tour. There was so much to taste. I did quite a bit of Christmas shopping while there as well. I will be ordering my olive oils from here from now on.
Simply delightful experience, and great products as well.

My friends and I decided to take a trip to the Ojai Olive Ranch. I am always interested in exploring places like this, but this experience exceeded my expectations. Our Tour Guide was extremely impressive and knowledgeable. He made it all so interesting, and he was very genuine in presenting the process. What an enjoyable and fascinating time! We heard he was relatively new with giving tours there, but I would have never known. Then we were fortunate enough to meet a woman who explained their pressing process. In addition, tasting all of the incredible infusions was heavenly. All of the staff here were very friendly, helpful and passionate about what they do. I would love to return. Thank you much!

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you Ojai is filled with magic. Yet head just a bit off the beaten track you’ll discover a place filled with not just magic, but pure wonder, joy and incredible flavors.
Ojai Olive Oil is a family business and arriving there feels like coming home. Every time we visit for a tasting, a tour of the property or to simply pick up our next batch of goods (my wife uses their olive oil daily), we feel the love and dedication that goes into this place. What we really enjoy is hearing how the process works from growing to milling to bottling. We come for the award-winning olive oil and leave with giant smiles and a heartfelt, soulful feeling. What an incredible place!

This was the highlight of our trip to Ojai; what an unexpected find! Great informative talk by the owner. The balsamic vinegars infused with different fruit and flowers were gorgeous; I've been having them drizzled over fresh fruit every day.

A bit underwhelming. The initial explanation was about 10 minutes and then we went to the olive tree groves, interesting if you've never seen an olive tree before.
After that, directly to the shop. The tour was free and nobody minded if you didn't buy anything, but since the shop was about two feet from the olive presses, it would have been more interesting if they were explained, even though they weren't in active use.

I am in love with their olive oil!!!!! I had the most amazing time tasting all the different types and flavors and had to get myself all of them so I could enjoy my own personal olive oil tasting at home!!!!! So buttery and yummy, everyone must try, I use on my live cooking shows now too

They have amazing balsamic vinegars in addition to their delicious olive oils. They also have a pen that has a doggy bed, water bowl and toys outside if you bring your dogs. The scenery is just beautiful here!

Pretty drive (about 10 minutes from town) - very helpful and friendly proprietors. Award-winning fresh evoo, flavorful infusions, interesting balsamic vinegars, and olive oil skincare products (face cream, soap, lip balm). Free tastings and lots of free olive oil info! They give tours (although we didn't have time for one on the day we visited) - check the website before going for days and times. The facility is not big or fancy, but the products are the real deal - a nice side trip off the beaten path if you have a free hour or so.

This is a nice day trip from Los Angeles area. We went in the heat, but it was fine. On your way you will think you are lost, but eventually down a little lane you will arrive and park among the olive trees. Honestly not a lot to walk, but inside the building is a wonderful tour of the Olive pressing they do and a full explanation of each step. So great education. Then a nice tasting room where the Olive Oils are many and all delicious. Once done - we headed into town and had a lovely dinner before our ride back to the hustle and bustle.

Even on a Wednesday afternoon, the tasting room and tour was extremely crowded. There is not a whole lot of parking either. Because it was during the week, there were only two people working, which made everything unorganized and frantic. I was not a fan of the flavored olive oils but the more classic types were very good, just expensive. I found more pleasure in tasting the different balsamic vinegars. We ended up purchasing two vinegars, a bar of soap, and lip balm.

A beautiful place to spend a couple hours or just 15 minutes but I recommend a couple of hours. There is an informative tour and you can then take your time in the tasting room Everyone is very friendly and this is a spot good for couples , groups or families. A stop that you can come to every time you are in the Ojai valley. The surroundings let you understand what a real working farm is like ( some are probably not as beautiful but you are in Ojai!! )

I have a new understanding of Olive Oil. Great presentation/tour. Friendly Staff, beautiful grounds. First time seeing a real Olive tree with olives on them!
Highly recommend stopping here and doing the Tour. I will buy Olive Oil very differently now with my new knowledge. Bought a few bottles there, excited to use them tonight.

We didn't go on a tour day, but thought they might still have little tastings onsite. They didn't. They made me feel like we were putting them out by being there - definitely wasn't the experience I expected. Bummer. Hopefully everything I bought tastes good. The grounds were kind of nice.

Want to feel like you're in Tuscany or the Provence? Visit Ojai Olive Oil! You'll be surrounded by olive trees and will see where the organic extra-virgin olive oils are processed every fall. Go taste the current season oils with some new blends the Master Miller produced! My friends have thanked me many times for this recommendation. Talk about finding perfect gifts, giving taste and health!

Staff was very friendly and willing to assist - allowed us to taste at our leisure - Espresso balsamic a favorite - as well as infused garlic olive oil.
.

If you want to learn about olive oil this is the place. The tour is given by the owner who is from France. She gives a short history and interesting lecture on olive trees and how the oil is milled.

Open for tastings every day but they also have tours on Weds. and weekend (check website for latest info).
Delicious olive oil and vinegars, yes, kind of expensive but try them all and then buy a few of your favorites, treat yourself and keep these fine folks in business.

Bought a ton of olive oil and vinegars and soaps. The views were amazing. This place is a must see while traveling to Ojai.
I first visited the tasting room. Then I sat at a picnic table and tried every flavor while surrounded by beautiful olive trees. Then I strolled all around the property to visit all the animals and the gorgeous pond. I spent about half a day and then had dinner at Ojai Valley Inn. It was so grounding.

Back behind orchards, amid olive oil trees...don't miss a stop to taste olive oils and a wide variety of balsamic vinegars! Also available are body lotions. Worth the trip!

we loved the oilve trees they are beautiful some are 150 years old,
Alice the owner provides a free tour and gives commentry about the ranch history and the different stages of making olive oil from the pickicking through the pressing to the final different products which you can sample and buy. the ranch is easy to get to using the sat nav. it is worth going to if you are nearby

This is a little difficult to find; just keep going on the gravel road, and you’ll eventually get there.
But once you do, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great tour, and the tasting room is awesome. I guarantee that you’re going to take some home!!!!

A bit difficult to find (you're sure you're on a private drive before you even see one of their signs), but worth the search! Great place to take a tour to learn about EVOO growing & processing...and the laws governing EVOO standards. The tasting room is small, but perfectly arranged to taste olive oils and then balsamic vinegars. I prefer to taste directly (without bread) and they provide the cups for that as well. It is definitely a small, family run facility with wonderful oils & vinegars! Only open to the public Wed and Sat 1-4

I took an afternoon drive while visiting Oxnard. Armed with my cell phone gps and the directions from the website i was able to drive there without too much trouble. It was late in the day so I did not take the tour but thoroughly enjoyed the tasting room. The ladies explained everything about the oils as well as balsamic vinegar selection and even soaps/face cream. I fell in love with the face cream and soap ... oh yes and I bought a couple of bottles of olive oil too. Delightful stop!

We enjoyed our visit to Ojai Olive Oil. We got to learn about the site, the trees, and olive oil production, and we tasted a wide variety of oils. Don't miss the Ojai Pixie Olive Oil.

The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The staff welcoming and very friendly. If you visit Ojai definitely visit here and plan to buy several bottles of the best olive oil you will ever have.

I can get wholeheartedly behind this one. We lived on the contiguous 10 acre property across a 9 year period during summer (and occasional Christmas) vacations. We were there when Ron A. put the very first trees in and (fascinatedly) watched them grow. The entire property is the epitome of calm and peacefulness. If you visit, you'll want to get out of your car and walk along the short road (less than a mile) and take in the atmosphere. It reminded us of the Chianti Road in Tuscany. If you do take the walk you will eventually encounter a British (London) telephone booth. At this point you are no longer on the Olive Oil Ranch. Be polite; turn around.

Since traveling to Italy, I have gone bonkers over olive oil and wanted to taste some locally grown products here in California. We drove up into the hills around Ojai following lots of little signs to the ranch and found it a little deserted looking. We wandered into the tasting room and were told the tour would begin in a couple minutes. We walked out into the shade of 1,000 year old olive trees and listened to a fascinating talk on the history and growing cycle of olives, then went inside to see the crushing equipment an on to tasting. The owner/guide was charming and very enthusiastic about the olives oil business and had an engaging way of telling her story. Unfortunately, we did not get to taste any of the olive oil produced on site because the yield was so low (0%) last year. We tasted imported olive oil and some balsamic vinegars (don't know where those were made). I did buy a couple of things but sure wish I could have tasted those from the farm instead. Maybe next year. If you have a chance...go to this free tour. Many people kept filtering in as the talk went on and all were welcomed warmly. One of the staff said they sometimes get 45 people for a tour so I guess we were lucky to have a smaller crowd. Enjoyed this outing 100%

Yes, this place is kind of hidden away, but not as hard to find as people say. Our GPS was right on. Nice grounds and shade while you wait a few minutes for a free tour. We learned a lot about the history and how olive oil is made. They let you taste all you want and there are LOTS of favors of olive oils and balsamic vinegars in the tasting room. There's also face cream, soap and lip balm. We bought several things for ourselves and for gifts. We enjoyed it - Definitely worth a stop!

We were given a tour of this totally organic olive oil farm. Very interesting and informative. A must do.

I guess people don't visit the Ojai Olive Oil Company when it's raining -- we had the place entirely to ourselves. The young woman who guided us through the different products was very friendly and helpful. We tasted just about all the edible products, and ended up buying two bottles of Provencale olive oil, two bars of olive oil soap, and one jar of olive oil face cream. Lovely!

We missed the introduction to the ranch but definitely made it to the tasting!
We caught a part of the tour and it was fun learning about how they made olive oil and all the different processes that goes to it.
They have lots of different types of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. My favorite was the garlic olive oil.
I also bought their olive oil face oil and I love it for the dry desert heat. Smells great too (lemon verbana)!

If you are into Olive Oil this is a cool place to visit and can literally try everything they have and all the balsamics as well.. They ship just about anywhere so dont worry about that. We did NOT do the tour so cant comment

We visited the Ojai Olive Oil Company on our bike trip in the ojai valley. Informative and tasty. We bought a fair amount of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Really enjoying the fruits (or the olives) of our visit

I once bought a Groupon for a tour, oil oil and balsamic vinegar tasting, and ever since have been buying their products! great intimate space, fascinating looking into production and the hard working people that make it happen!

Not a great experience. Not very welcoming as person seemed Irritated that customers had arrived. Would be great to be able to taste all the olive oils (get limited) and have some bread with it. Overall very disappointing.

It takes a bit of navigating to reach Ojai Olive Oil, tucked up in the hills of the Ojai Valley. But, it is worth it! Delicious olive oils, plain and infused, and a wide variety of balsamic vinegars. Knowledgable staff share the farm's history, process and food pairings. My favorite tourist activity in town!

I learned a lot about olive oil on the tour, but because we arrived after the tour had begun, we had to wait around a while for the next tour to get all of the information. I'd recommend arriving right when they open to be sure you can take a tour from the beginning. There were also a lot of people, which made it hard to maneuver around the tasting room.

Good tour and information about the growing and making of olive oil. Who knew that green and black olives are the same species, in varying degrees of ripeness? Enjoyed the tasting and purchased lots of goodies, which they happily shipped to my home.

The ranch has lots of scenic trails, and the olive oil making technique is interesting - tasting is fun too! There is a picnic area which is perfect for groups to gather.

Enjoyed an afternoon at the Olive Ranch. Sat in on the incredibly informative talk and sampled all the wonderful olive oils and vinegars that they make. Great little "to do" while in Ojai.

We had a wonderful time listening to the craft of producing olive oil. Alice, the proprietress of the ranch, is delightful and so passionate about her operation and the olive oil she produces/sells. It was informative, fun and we had a blast tasting the various varieties of olive oil and balsamic vinegar offered through the ranch. Best of all, it's FREE! The tours are free form and start when there's a "critical mass." Tours are offered on Wednesdays and Saturday but I believe that schedule will change when harvest begins. I recommend that you check the website before you go. The tasting room is open daily.

When up in the Santa Barbara / Ojai area we stopped in at the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch, and glad that we did - a nice experience. Alice toured us around effortlessly and explained the nuances of Olive Farming and Olive Oil production. Very enjoyable and you'll come to more fully appreciate those little olives! Enjoy. ...

Enjoyed our stop here and had fun with the tasting. My friend and i shared which was perfect.
We dropped a load of cash-which, when you spend over $100 i think they should waive/credit the tasting fee!
Would stop again... Nice picnic tables to sit and do your tasting.

We came on Saturday and was surprised to see the owner talking to a small group that we joined. Her passion for this venture, her knowledge and her fun approach made it one of the best 'owner' talks I've ever enjoyed. Made me really appreciate the differences between oils (and I was the accompanying spouse to someone who cooks). A great way to enjoy an afternoon.

My mom, sister and I went here for Mother's Day (last year), and it was super cool. We didn't do the guided tour but eavesdropped on one that was happening when we arrived (heehee) -- really interesting. At the time, the oil and vinegars being sold weren't from the ranch, but that turned out to be ok because it was SO DELICIOUS. I got the olive oil and fig-infused balsamic vinegar.

Olive Orchard with an amazing choice of olive oils and vinegars on sale. Excellent lecture on the making of both and samples to try before buying

You will find out how olives are harvested and how the oil is extracted. All the equipment is there on site. This is really a beautiful place to see. You can buy some oil, too!

It was a pretty ride to the olive grove. There was a tasting area with olive oil, balsamic vinegars that they import, lotions and soaps. We did not get a tour of the groves, but sat at tables under the oldest trees with the guide. He then took us into the building where the olives are processed to complete the tour. There was no pressure to buy, but the products were wonderful and sold themselves.

Alice is a delight and gave us a great tour of the beautiful orchard. We said under the trees and learned so much about the olive oil history and industry and then went inside to the machinery and learned a bunch there! We love unique places like this.

Had a little time to kill in Ojai and too early to drink wine, so headed here to check it out. A lovely setting, interesting tour, plenty to taste, friendly and happy staff. Ended up shipping 6 bottles home for ourselves and gift giving. Definitely worth the stop!!

Nice Ambiance with Ojai Feeling. Huge selection of EVOO and Vinegars. Tasting led us to some real choice oils we brought home.

Tours are given. We had the opportunity to sit outside and listen to the owner discuss the process of making olive oil. Quite educational. The tour we participated in was on a Saturday. Tours are not given everyday. The best part is going into the little cottage and sampling the different types of olive oils. The extra virgin olive oil is probably the best but the garlic, rosemary, and basil are delicious. They have olive oil lip balms, creams and soaps to purchase.

There wasn't much to see and we found the olive oils a little bland. Also it's a very windy one lane road to get to the place. We were very disappointed.

Like all the reviews, doing the free tour and tastings was a fun way to spend an hour or two in Ojai. The tour was mainly just the outside of the building and then the production room, but it was still informative. All of the staff are super friendly, the oils and balsamic (from Italy) were fun to taste. Definitely worth checking out if you like olive oils!

Visiting LA and found the Ranch while searching for things to do outside the LA area. While the Ranch was my primary destination, Alice (the owner) told me about the Ojai Valley and some area places to visit. Ended up being a wonderful day trip. Learned a lot about olives and the oil making process. I'm a fan of olive oil and thought I knew a thing or two, but nope! I sure do now though. I was there for 2 hours, but you could make this a shorter trip for sure. Highly recommend visiting!

Excellent mini tour covers olive grove and olive mill. Machinery is interesting, and all questions are graciously answered. Tastes in tasting room are varied and generous. Finding this place is part of the fun!

Headed here with a group of 10 friends before a late lunch in Ojai. Maybe 10 to 15 minute drive from Ojai Valley Inn. Enjoyed learning a bit about olive trees, process for making olive oil, etc. The short drive was great as it wound through a number of orange farms which was unexpected (at least for me). Of course we ended with the tasting and purchased several bottles. They’ll ship anywhere in the US for $15 so you don’t have to pack for your flight.
Be advised the last 100 yards or so of the drive is a one track dirt road so be on the lookout for cars coming the opposite direction.

We spent a wonderful afternoon here. The property's owner gave a wonderfully informative tour (very interesting, very international lady, and the former personal assistant to opera great Placido Domingo we were impressed to learn) with great insight on what it takes to grow olives in this part of the world. The orchard was planted by her husband as a retirement project--he has since passed away.
The tour includes detailed explanations of how the olives are pressed and bottled. Afterward, you can taste and purchase. They bottle their olive oils by olive variety, and they make several flavored oils and balsamic vinegars.

Our first clue should've been the locals we talked to when we got into town. I mentioned that the Olive Grove was listed as #1 on Trip Advisor and they were clearly confused as to why it would be rated #1. We decided to try it anyway even though it was not a tour day. It's a little hard to find and their website says they put signs up to direct you only on tour days. Not sure why not every day because even when there are no tours they are open for tastings. Once we found it we parked and walked inside. They direct you to a small room where you can taste about 10 olive oils and some vinegars. That was all there was to do. There wasn't any literature or anything to read about where we were. If it's not a tour day they won't even give you any information about the place. We asked the two ladies inside if we could walk around outside to look around. One said there's not much to look at, and the other told us to "stay out of the groves"
There are a ton of oil and vinegar shops where we come from and there was nothing interesting about this. Even a little bit of hospitality and even a sentence or two about the history and oil making process would've gone a long way for us. We left without buying anything since it seemed like they didn't care anyway.

Delightful visit up a dusty road past orchards loaded with fruit until you get to Ojai Olive Oil where a lovely young woman sat in a swing under an ancient oil tree talking to the folks who visited about what makes good olive oil - and how they make their's - followed by a visit to the room where they make theirs' in gleaming Italian equipment. She changed the way I'll buy and use butter and olive oils forever more.

Wonderful description of growing olive trees and look at the equipment to make olive oil. Tasting of many kinds of olive oil, flavored oil, and flavored vinegars.

Just like the town of Ojai itself, the Olive Oil Company was small but great. Lots of gifts to bring home to your friends and family. ITs fun to meet the tree that your tasty oil comes from.

Ojai olive oil, truly is a hidden gem in Ojai Valley, only one hour and half away from LA.
Best olive oil tasting experience I ever had.
Stunning views, I felt I was in the Tuscany Italy.
The service was exceptional. I can’t wait to go back there again.

If you are in the Ojai area this is a must see. Very educational and the oli is delicious!! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.

This is truely a great experience, from sitting among the hundred year old oil trees to getting an explanation of how the olives are processed. There is a small store where not only you can taste different products but buy at reasonable prices

My husband and I stumbled upon this place awhile ago. It's very interesting and informative, short and sweet. Even bought some to bring home. Delicious!

The farm is extensive, and the olive oil and vinegar flavors are hard to choose, as to which to buy and take home. They were not as informative, nor did we receive a tour, which I thought was part of the attraction. I also thought they had trees to purchase, but it was not mentioned. They made reference to other cities near by and how no one compare with that area. Kind of new age hippie.

Took a 10am tour on a Saturday, which involved an explanation of the olive oil making process, the history of the agribusiness, and an overview of quality vs. poor quality olive oil. Great tips for future olive oil purchase and storage. Tasted about 10 olive oils and vinegars at the end in different combinations with little pieces of bread and purchased a bottle of Garlic Olive Oil. Very warm and welcoming staff. A little 'off-the-beaten path.' Make sure you follow the directions on the website and do not rely on Google Maps GPS.

Perfect outdoor activity to try some great olive oil and balsamic. The staff is super nice and explained the background of each product which was helpful. They ship nationwide so we didn't have to worry about checking our bag in. Don't need more than an hour but it's nice to do before or after lunch.

Love this company great customer service amazing product!!! Local is best but I would make the drive. Thank goodness you can order online, owners are amazing!!!

We rode our bikes to Ojai Olive Oil which was a little challenging with a 9 year old but overall - it's a fairly easy ride with some minor inclines. We arrived just as a tour was starting. Tour guide was very friendly and informative. We sat out on the picnic tables in front of the tasting room. After a 15 minute talk, we went into the tasting room. It's very small. The mill was running so it was quite loud. We tasted a variety of olive oils, balsamic vinegars and tried some lotions/creams. The olive oil is great quality and it is apparent these guys have been doing this for some time and know their stuff.

We were not offered a tour of the farm (though perhaps we needed to ask?) though we did the olive oil and vinegar tasting.
It was a fun experience and my children really enjoyed trying all the flavours and expressing their likes and dislikes - mostly all likes!
We bought some of the delicious lemon olive oil to take home & it's a lovely reminder of our trip. I only wish we could have travelled with more bottles!

We visited the ranch and were hoping the tour would include an opportunity to see the grounds. The drive is a bit out of the way for what you are seeing. There is a lecture style information, then the opportunity to see the room where the olive oil is produced. The olive oil is very good, but very pricey.
Note about dogs: While dogs are allowed, they cannot go into the tasting room. You will need to leave them in a fenced area, which made me very nervous. Better to not bring your dog.

If you meditate, you must come here. I walked barefooted and felt good vibes. Nice benches available throughout.

We visited this farm and the owner Alice did the most interesting presentation of how olive oil is made and its benefits.
Being French, I already use a lot of olive oil and always get the extra-virgin of course, but now I know what benefits I am getting from it!
The tasting room is awesome and I bought 3 different kinds of oil (including the lemon-flavored one which I recommend) and fig-infused balsamic vinegar that is to die for.
It's a beautiful place inside and out--a must see for foodies.

What a fun side trip! We went to Ojai for the day and it was blazing hot - and we didn't really have a plan - so we decided to find Ojai Olive Oil since we were driving and didn't want to do more wine tasting.
For $10, you get to taste a variety of oils and vinegars while sitting out among the olive trees. We didn't bring any extra food or drink, but it is a lovely picnic spot.
The oils and vinegars were already really delicious and the packaging is very pretty, so we ordered some to be delivered to our home and got it in 3 days.

Fantastic experience!
Beautiful place, beautiful drive in. We almost didn’t go because there was a low stream to drive across and we didn’t know if it was the right way as a car in front of us turned back.
Luckily, someone was driving out of the farm and told us to proceed on.
Highly recommend the pomegranate and espresso balsamic!

I learned more than I though I needed to know about olives and olive oil in a short lecture and tour given by the owners, followed by a tasting. Worth a visit!

The grounds of this sweet little place are just a hint of what an olive grove in Tuscany would look like. We were not here on a day where tours are given but Alison spent plenty of time with us and answered all of our questions. The prices are very good and the olive oil is fairly priced. There are also vinegars to taste and buy sourced from Modena Italy. I also purchased face cream and soap. Bring a picnic and enjoy the big olive trees and stay a while.

Literally, the best Olive Oil in Ojai. The tasting room reps are extremely knowledgeable. Philip and Alice (the owners) lovingly tend their orchards and share their knowledge and product. This is a MUST when visiting Ojai

The ranch is pleasant. There is a tour but we didn't take it. The fresh olive oil tastes great. Very pleasant owners.

Alice, the owner is wonderful and will explain the history of her farm. It's only a few minutes north of town and you will not leave without a few bottles of her olive oil or balsamic vinegar. You could even bring a picnic lunch.

We stopped in about 20 minutes before they closed. No time for a tour. Totally worth the stop. Delectable olive oils that are so fresh. Very knowledgeable, helpful staff. Not pushy, but can direct you to delicious combinations of balsamics and oils. Yes they have fabulous balsamic vinegars as well. Left with oils, vinegars, lip balms, soaps and face creams. We are fans and you will be too.

If you have the time...seeing how olive oil is produced, the tasting room and shop are so worth the visit. There are tress 100 years old still producing olives! The owners are so knowledgable and gave me more respect for the product they produce

I had no idea this type of farm even still existed. A great variety of trees, helpful and knowledgeable staff and great olive oil and vinegar products to buy. Not to be missed!

We enjoyed a lovely visit to the Ojai Olive Oil Ranch and we are still enjoying the oils and vinegar that we purchased. The Ranch is beautifully situated which makes the drive to the ranch enjoyable. The son of the owner guided us into the orchard and told us about the growing of the trees, the picking, the pressing and bottling. It didn't take very long and would have been OK for most kids. The tasting afterwards was also enjoyable and we appreciated that there was no pressure at all to buy anything. But since we tasted some delicious oils and vinegar, and since we wanted something to remember this delightful visit, we ended up buying more than we anticipated. No regrets - hopefully we'll be back for more!

A must see place to visit if you have any interest in olive oil. The tour and tastings are free and worth the short drive.

Ojai Olive Oil Ranch is off the beaten path but certainly worth the trip to see it. The olives groves are interesting, But the pressed oil that they bottle is even more interesting. With a large tasting bar you can learn about the various types of olives used.
We brought bottles to take back to Miami and all our guests have loved them.

Not sure all the facts were true on the informational tour, but loved the family who gave it. The tasting was good and we left with a beautiful blue bottle of olive oil.

Husband and I looking for something different to do for a couple of hours early August on a Wednesday. . Found the OJAI OLIVE OIL company had tours on Wednesdays, 1pm-4pm (also Saturdays, 10am-3pm ) Free , no reservation required. Tours start when enough people have gathered after the last tour has ended. You can join the group at any point, leave at any time. You can skip the tour and go to the tasting room to taste and shop. Alice, the owner, began outside in front of the building with the tasting room and also where the olives are processed. No walking around involved, Mostly a lecture outside about the ranch and olive tress, followed by going inside to see where the processing is done. Interesting and interactive. Suitable for all ages. Small children can play outside with things on the ground if they get bored, inside the machinery is shiny and complex looking.
Husband and I found Alice's info to be fascinating, well worth our time. And the Olive Oils !
Won several prizes for Best in Show in New York. It is darn good olive oil. ENJOY

This is a small place and a bit difficult to find but it is worth the adventure. Staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. They offer all their products to sample and sample we did...and buy we did as well. Love supporting small local businesses wherever we travel.

This was my third time visiting this magical place as Ojai Olive Oil sits on a stunning location that feels like a hidden valley tucked into Ojai Valley.
Highly recommend their olive oil tasting as it's such a special way to spend part of the day as it's very educational, and their range of Olive Oils & Balsamic Vinegars are truly exquisite!

The folks that work there are nice and helpful. No frills small olive oil factory. Good oil and balsamic vinegar.

I went with no intentions to purchase anything and walked out with two of the infused oils (garlic, basil), a traditional balsamic vinegar, and thai coconut lip balm. Everything was so delicious! Very exotic flavors I would never expect, but thoroughly enjoyed. I would have purchased one of everything if I could afford it. Try the Violet vinegar!

The friend I traveled with is not a wine drinker so this was an excellent adventure for us both -small place but worth the trip. The oils and vinegars were yummy and plentiful. The tour was informative and enjoyable.

This is one place you MUST tour/visit when you come to Ojai. Alice, the owner gives a wonderful walking tour of the Olive vineyards and pressing room with very interesting facts about olive oil and the behind the scenes job of pressing those little olives into the most delicious oil you've ever tasted. They also offer a tasting room with an extensive offering of all of their products, so you'll know exactly how they taste. It makes for an enjoyable edible adventure.

We randomly stumbled upon the olive oil ranch looking for something to do between Santa Barbara and Santa Monica. I'm pregnant so we couldn't do wine tours (or didn't want to) but this was short and sweet and fun too! The owner was super sweet and gave lots of information.
We were able to purchase their oils which I was excited about because I had read another review stating they were out when they came thru but we got lucky Bc they harvested in Sept or Oct and we're still bottling when we visited. Must do if you're looking for something different.

I just spent nearly two hours at the ranch, having gone on a lark after seeing it on TripAdvisor. The proprietress, Alice, led a fascinating informal tour. She could not have been more gracious. It was very impressive to see how much they were able to do in a relatively small facility. I had fun and left with a much greater appreciation for the differences among olive oils on the grocery shelf. Good fun. Pretty place. Easy short drive from town. Watch for the turkeys along the road.

Drove up the hill in the morning when it was still cool. the new Tasting Room is open and has a/c. There is a lovely outdoor seating area where you take your 'tasting box' and enjoy the different tastings for that day. We were given a sheet with the descriptions of the oils/vinegars so we could decide what we liked. We ended up with the Basil Oil and Tuscan Oil. I love them both! We didn't have a tour but had a fun conversation with the lady in the Tasting Room. We drove our small RV and had no problem parking however, several of the streets leading up to the farm are narrow with overhanging branches.

A little hard to find but just follow the signs. Takes about 15 minutes from downtown Ojai. We arrived about 1:00 pm on a Saturday and joined a group of a dozen or so, no reservations required.
Our visit started with a tutorial by the owner of the company who is very knowledgeable about olives, of course, and the Ojai Valley. She describes the types of olives they grow, the care of the trees, the growing process, and harvesting in an olive tree grove. The tour then moves inside to review the pressing and oil extraction process, followed by a visit to the informal tasting room,
Well worth the short trip and 90 minutes of your time.

Love that you can pay $10 to taste all the oils and vinegars. You can really taste the difference in the origins of the olive oils. My two suggestions would be to give better quality bread for the tasting and also a possible discount when purchasing multiple bottles. Otherwise a beautiful activity to spend time outside amongst the olive trees. Bring water as a palate cleanser!

Ojai Oilive Oil is a small local company that offers free tours. We thoroughly enjoyed our half-hour tour and then sampling the different oils and vinegar. Very friendly people and a great product. We'll be repeat customers. The tour didin't involve a lot of walking. Mostly we sat under 200-year old olive trees listening to the history and process. Very enjoyable!

Bring your own bread. We got bits of hamburger bun to try the oil - nasty! We thought there would be a tour, but there wasn't one offered. The orchard has a rattle snake issue so we couldn't even check out the farm.

We visited on a Sat. without a reservation and were able to get a tour of the grove, the olive pressing room and a tasting of the local olive oils and Italian balsamic vinegars. I order both the olive oils and several of the vinegars, some flavored with fruit and, in the case of the lemon olive oil, pressed with the olives. For those with no time to go to the groves, the olive oil and vinegars are sold at Rains and online.

We were driving from Santa Barbara to LA and decided to stop in Ojai. I looked up on TA what to do in this quaint little town and the Ojai Olive Oil Company came up. We thought, "Why not?" and proceeded to drive a little outside of town to find this little gem. Along the way we began smelling this amazing scent and realized that the orange groves we were driving through were full of blossoming oranges trees. We literally stopped the car to inhale the absolutely gorgeous scent! After a few more turns, over a little road with water trailing over it, we finally found Ojai Olive Oil. The variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars were impressive and delicious! It was fun mixing and matching the flavors. The difficult part was narrowing down our purchases, as we had to make sure we didin't overload our luggage for the flight back. The staff at Ojai Olive Oil were very friendly and informative. There is a gorgeous vista view they told us about not far from their place. We enjoyed that then stopped at a fresh fruit stand for oranges on the way out of town. Such a nice, peaceful, sweet little side trip!

Off the beaten path and across the mountain stream we found the inviting Ojai Olive Oil Company. The warm and cozy tasting room was filled with outstanding olive oils and truly delicious balsamic vinegars. The staff was lovely and very knowledgeable. We will be ordering more soon.

There are so many olive oils and vinegars to sample. If you cook with olive oil then you have to go in and sample these tasty oils.

We had an enjoyable olive oil tasting experience. The various flavors were discribed to us and we had a fun time tasting the various choices. We ended by buying three different flavors and will also give some as gifts. We were also shown the olive oil extractors and how how they got the oil from the olive.
Our only complaint was the address of 1811 Ladera Road. The real address is 1811 Ladera Ridge Road. If you put the first one in your gps it will guild you astray.

Off a dirt road and through olive orchards is this functioning, self contained olive oil producer. High quality standards, a variety of tastings and a terrific guide. We’d like to go back in the Fall during the harvest.

Learning about how olive oil is made, learning about what we find in our stores -- amazing. We really love the olive oil. It is our go to family olive oil. We also give it as house warming presents. Not to be missed.

My husband and I went to Ojai for a day trip for some wine tasting. We found this little spot from Trip Advisor and it was a great little spot to break up the wine tasting. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. There are plenty of fresh California Olive Oil to taste as well as their own blends of Balsamic Vinegar. We ended up buying both Olive Oil and vinegar to take home. A really cute place to stop.

We visited Ojai Olive Oil in April 2017 while visiting family in Ventura. It’s a beautiful drive to the ranch. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but was very impressed with their tasting room, the variety of olive oils and balsamic vinegars and the friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can also order online directly or through Amazon.

We had a lovely time during our stop here. The owner had seemingly endless time to spend with us, explaining each oil and important aspects of their products—despite having a very large tour group showing up just after us. They had samples of everything and encouraged tasting (it was all amazing)! Everyone we interacted with was warm and friendly!
We did not take the tour, but they have hours you can stop by just to visit and shop. The grounds are beautiful though!
Beautiful Tour and Tasting
Ojai Olive Oil Company is located in the foothills of Ojai, with beautiful groves. This small operation produces high quality organic olive oil and creates a variety of olive oils infused with flavors such as garlic. They also produce a delicious Balsamic vinegar. At the tour, participants taste both. There are also a variety of olive oil based cosmetics, including face creams. According to a newspaper article posted there, olive oil has anti cancer qualities.
After tasting and trying the products you are led to the groves and learn about the amazing endurance of olive trees, and the production of the olive oil. Finally, you are led back to the machinery which produces the olive oil, with a full explanation of how it works. This is a family run operation and everyone is extremely courteous and warm. This is a wonderful tour for individuals, couples, and families with children.Tours are offered daily from 10AM-4PM. There is a map on the website that will help you locate this enchanting place.
