We strolled around the town mainly looking in the windows of the unique shops. There were a lot of different restaurants with outdoor seating. Lots of amazing jewelry stores with Turquoise galore. There are public parking areas available. The olive trees at the end of Second Street were planted in 1896 by town founder Winfred Scott. The restraint Los Mexican Patio is named after the historic trees.

We came to Old Town to walk around... walking along the canal was very nice. The downtown has plenty of shops and food. Very clean and friendly atmosphere.

Nice short visit. It was very established for the tourists, but still cute
A little bit annoying with all the parked cars in fort of the nice shops.

With just three or four original buildings in the "Old town Scottsdale" locale, i was
greatly disappointed. The entire area is a "re-creation" of a wild west town with the buildings filled with jewelry, tee-shirt and souvenir shops. There was only one bar and it was tiny and dimly lit. We looked for a nice family restaurant to eat dinner at and
could not find one. Great place if you want to look at expensive jewelry and gems.

Our Rental was near Old Town & we were hoping this would be a walkable area in the evenings for Restaurants, things to do etc... Most of the time we drove to our Restaurant in the evening & walked around from there. We found Old Town to be very spread out and not as walkable as we thought. By the time we got to Old Town area around Dinner time, most if not all the local shops were closed. Unless you were having Dinner or a night out drinking, there wasn't much else to do in the evenings. There is a huge variety of Restaurants and bars. We did make reservations both nights for Dinner. We did find a fabulous Donut shop 1 morning on our way out. Overall we wouldn't stay in this area again if we returned.

This is a major tourist trap with all the stores basically selling the same thing and some not so reputable people try to lure you into their stores .

This area has seen better days. Generally depressed with many closed store fronts. No action, no life.

I do not understand the appeal of this area. It’s full of jewelry stores and art galleries that are all selling the same items. Coming here was a waste of time, and I wish we hadn’t bothered.

The shops were super disappointing even on 5th Avenue. Reminded me of cruise ship shopping. All the shops sold the same kitschy ultra western themed stuff. There were maybe a couple shops with a few cute clothes but overall not on par with other shopping districts I have visited in other tourist towns.

The shopping is always fun. The variety of restaurants is unlimited from sandwiches to 3 course meals, something for everyone. We always love to visit the art museums, just beautiful. Ride or walk & enjoy what is happening around you.

Our visit to Scottsdale included a leisurely driving tour through neighborhoods to view interesting homes and architecture -- from modest bugalows to radical mansions. Such fun.
Then we hit Old Town -- a place recommended by neighbors at our VRBO condo in Avondale. We are so glad we did a walk-around on a Saturday afternoon. What a festive occasion with live music/karaoke to which pedestrians walking along outside were even joining in. What a delightful collection of sounds, smells, and sights. And, boy, were there bargains in authentic Indian jewelry. At least ,that's what the barkers claimed. Fun times to be sure. Don't miss Old Town Scottsdale!

Very cute town, that covers a fairly large area. We parked by the 5th street shopping street and walked towards the Sugar Bowl then left towards City Hall. Nice walk and lots of restaurants and shops.

Perfect little spot for shopping. Wether you are looking for little nick knacks or high end pieces, you’ll be satisfied. Very nice people running the shops. Make sure you stop in to see Scottsdale trading post, vintage by misty, and rolling rack boutique!

Very pretty and walkable. The whole area can be traversed on foot in probably half an hour. Numerous restaurants and bars to choose from.

We spent our last day checking out Old Town Scottsdale & were extremely thrilled we spent some time there. So many beautiful shops, galleries & boutiques to check out & shopping galore. I think we spent about 4 hours & ended our day at the legendary Rusty Spur Saloon. We got to the saloon mid afternoon so it was busy. As I walk with a walker the only seating available was on the stools at the bar. We were in the midst of leaving & a very kind patron tapped me on the back & said they were just ready to leave & we could have their table. When we sat down the women & her 2 companions stayed up at the bar for about another half an hour. A big shout out thank you does not suffice her kindness!! The Rusty Spur had a very talented guitar singer & everyone was enjoying him thoroughly but more could have tipped him. As everything is made with the prickly pear cactus what would be better than enjoying a Prickly Pear Margaretta. The fun bar stools are a must picture taking memory. Be sure to put Old Town Scottsdale on your itinerary & you will be glad you did!!

Lots of restaurants, bars, shops & salons. Great way to spend an afternoon, strolling the area. We went on a Sunday (around 5ish) & sadly a lot of stores seemed to have closed already. The trees are beautifully lite with cafe lights in the evening. In addition to shopping & eating you can also walk along the canal. Very relaxing...
Nice area & definitely worth a visit.

Very walkable area for locals and tourists. Wide variety of places to eat and local shops. Great place to visit for a low key day in Scottsdale. I enjoyed it. Looks like parking can get tight, so come early. 3 hour parking.

The area was cool to explore - felt pretty walkable and if you needed to it’s a cheap Uber most places. The shops were cool and lots of good places to get a drink or bite to eat!

the memory of Old Scottsdale is great. The current reality has no identity. The Old Old Scottsdale was a lazy meandering hodgepodge of interesting stores, art galleries, jazz clubs, restaurants, all reflecting the casual nature of " The West Most Western City". that is gone. Now a screaming, quote, Entertainment Area if full of noon stop gigantic bars full of mindless narcissist. The meandering nature is gone. The culture is gone.

We enjoyed visiting Old Town Scottsdale. They have very nice stores to shop at, galleries to view local art and restaurants or coffee shops to eat at. Relaxing environment to trip a couple of hours when visting.

Always enjoy walking around Old Scottsdale! Great little shops and restaurants. Fantastic art shops and if you’re looking for local style jewelry, this is the area for you.

Museum. Sugar bowl. Outdoor statues and the ambiance . great place to walk around and look at art and shop

Our hotel was right on the fringes of Old Town Scottsdale. We had a choice of great restaurants and wonderful shopping. The staff was very courteous and made our stay very relaxing and enjoyable.

We were killing time before the NHL game we had come from DC to see (in Tempe). Old Town Scottsdale was a nice walk with some lovely galleries and a few fun shops. We had a delightful lunch (with local beers!) at Bootleggers. The people we met throughout our visit were very warm and welcoming - that was the best part.

Wonderful place nice old town cowboy, I will plan back their again. Recommend who would like to go Scottsdale awesome

Old Town Scottsdale was quaint and we had fun walking around checking out the unique shops. We loved the gelato at Pussycat Gelato and the beautiful clothes at Carmen boutique.

Lots of great shops and eateries!
Best to go first thing in the morning. Free parking. Great coffee shops. Grab and coffee and stroll.

Old Town Scottsdale is a great place to visit; it appears like a town in the wild west. Parking is ample. The unique shops, restaurants, and saloons offer relief from the heat with their air conditioning. We especially enjoyed the Native American shop which had coffee, blankets, clothing, jewelry, Christmas ornaments, etc. There is such great local art work on the sidewalks as well as a section with art galleries. You may think you are in Napa Valley since there are many local wine tasting spots. We thoroughly enjoyed strolling along these streets.

Me and my husband try to visit Scottsdale every year. We're from Rhode Island so once November comes we head to Arizona for a week. Old Town Scottsdale definitely has put a Scottsdale on the map. Its safe, tons of things to do, good eats, bars and shopping. About 20 minutes from the airport.

What a cute town to tour. The unique stores were fun to go into and there were plenty of interesting things to look at. There are also many places to eat around the area as well. You can get a Waymo ride if you want to try something new! The town is a good photo opportunity.

Fun area to walk around. Glad we visited. Lots of art galleries! Most other shops were a bit touristy and full of souvenir Knick knacks.

Old Town has everything for everyone. Unique restaurants, cool bars, cupcakes & donuts, shopping, wine, galleries and more. Don’t miss out on the fun here!

We chose to fly down, take a Lyft to the hotel and not get a rental car. Good choice! Downtown old town has hotels and a lot of restaurants that you can walk to if you stay downtown. Old town has a lot of galleries and other shopping options (if you are into that). Overall however, we loved walking everywhere and only used Lyft to and from the airport.

Chose Scottsdale due to its close proximity to the airport but also as there seemed a lot to do.
Day time - Very safe to walk around and each time I came across some interesting pieces of art. I also found a visitors unmanned stand full of leaflets and maps and one was a self guided tour around the tour which I followed. I went to a few places for breakfast and each had an hours wait so ended up waiting at my 3rd stop Breakfast Club on N Scottsdale Rd.
Night time - Holy mother this is like party central, all the younger crowd (where were they during the day?) came out to play and play and party hard they did. Everywhere was loud, packed and teaming with people. One concern I had was I was having dinner and was sat outside people watching and a young couple rented e scooters off a stand. From where I sat the girl was wasted but off she went with one hand on a handle and the other holding her drink. She went 20 feet through the first intersection with cars whizzing by, the scooter wobbled and I am not sure if she hit the brakes or she hit a pot hole but that scooter came to a dead stop, she flew through the air still holding her drink and landed on her chin first. How a car never hit her is beyond me. Need to rethink rental of bikes/scooters on an evening when alcohol is in play. The area felt safe walking around at night though due to the volume of tourists and locals out and about.

Typical tourist town, busy, restaurants, selling local style stuff, jewelry, and high end stores. Seen one you have seen them all.

The Mission was great for brunch highly recommend outdoor dining very nice. Great service and food. Easy to make reservations and amazing atmosphere

The shops are very touristy but fun to browse. Lots of bars. Daytime walk should include the green space near performing arts center. Nighttime is for bar hopping. Expect difficulty parking in Old Town.

My niece and I visited Old Town Scottsdale for a few hours on our last day in AZ. We were just killing time before heading to the airport when we discovered that there was a Native American festival/art fair! We visited several booths and I was absolutely stunned when we happened upon a booth with the artist Ron Chee present. I have admired his work for years and couldn't believe my good fortune to meet him in person. He was so nice, very outgoing ad friendly. I purchased one of his works and so did my niece.

We love hitting the galleries and shops in Old Scottsdale, and especially like it when the Farmers' Market is in full swing. There are inexpensive shops and very expensive galleries. We treat the galleries like small museums, and we've never felt rushes to leave or purchase. If you get hungry, no worries. There are many many nice spots to eat, from inexpensive to pricey.

So much to do within walking distance. Cute shops and trendy restaurants with great food. I don’t drink but the bars have a fun vibe.

My husband and I stopped by for about 2.5 hours on Sunday afternoon, not expecting too much. But we ended up loving it so much that we ended up returning for 5 more hours the following day, too finish seeing everything. So many cute shops and amazing places to eat.

I don’t know the name of the wonderful restaurant where we dined outdoors. It was romantic, and delicious. So nice. It’s a beautiful neighborhood.

Fun shops and a nice way to spend a few hours. Quaint streets and beautiful art offerings and jewelry. Nice restaurants. Volunteers staff an information booth in the center of the area and are very helpful. Walk to the park and enjoy the outdoor art and great weather.

This is a unique area of Scottsdale that offers all types of shopping and eating experiences. The area is especially good for southwestern jewelry and art. It is fun to stroll down the small streets and investigate the many shops. One can find all types of treasures here and I love just window shopping. There is parking available on the street if you arrive early enough. There is also a nearby parking lot.

Great place for window shopping of many unique and Native American galleries and jewelry stores. One side of Main Street old towne is all galleries, museums and jewelry stores; the other side is filled with a delight of boutiques, souvenir shops, saloons, cafes, etc.

Nice place to look around. Beautiful views of lights during the holidays. Nice area to just walk around and enjoy the different local shops.

This is a touristy, but fun area. We got some souvenirs, had ice cream at The Sugar Bowl, and stopped into a saloon for a prickly pear margaritas (delish!). It was fun to walk around.

Many wonderful gift, jewelry, and tourist shops, restaurants and bars with a friendly atmosphere and cute Arizona style store fronts.

We spent 3 nights in Scottsdale Old Town area, so often we would end up finding a place to eat or drink or have desserts here. It is set up nicely for tourists. Lots of restaurants, quality ones. You can do the Art Walk on Thursday night. Many interesting fountains and sculptures. Quaint walk ways.
Sure, it can be a bit crowded, but that is part of the charm. If you want peace and quiet, stay home with the curtains drawn.
With the great weather, enjoying a nice meal in an outdoor patio is quite lovely.

Very tacky area with dozens of the same souvenir or crystal shops. There a few decent shops and restaurants but not enough to make this a worthwhile detour. See it if you must but no need to spend more than an hour here.

First time in Arizona and Scottsdale was our destination. Old Town Scottsdale is a series of blocks of stores and restaurants that are fun to explore. Loads of Southern souvenirs and art galleries as well. Don’t miss the iconic Sugar Bowl - great lunches and save room for the ice cream treats. We stayed at the Hyatt House which served our needs well.

While Phoenix downtown is a bit uninspiring to say the least, the downtown centre of Scottsdale is a lovely little town with nice shops and eateries in scenic streets. Not some highrise concrete blocks.
Along the river some more restaurants and shops.

We visited this area 2 times & we barely made a dent in all there is here. We dined, shopped & really enjoyed all the arts on display both on the street & in the shops!

Mainly an area of shops and a couple of bars. The Rusty Spur did have a unique side. A cowboy and his horse rode into the saloon to serenade the people inside.

We went here on a whim due to reviews. Loved it! Adorable, rustic and quaint. A delightful taste of the old west with many unique shops and souvenirs. Lots of cool taverns and places to eat.

Wow!!! Great western town in the middle of Phoenix. Delicious food and great atmosphere. Great photo opportunities.
Lots of parking available.

There's something for everyone here. Wide variety of shops and food/drink. Just nice to walk around and admire the art. A lot to see and experience, so you can come back multiple times and not get bored.

Everything you can imagine from high end to trinkets. Easy parking, easily walkable, restrooms, benches, snacks, bars and restaurants. 2 hours and only half done

Old Town Scottsdale takes up a few busy blocks and I'd say you can spend about 2 hours here before being ready to leave. But after walking a couple blocks up and back, it's sort of a "been there done that" situation. Overall - definitely hit it up to check it out. Won't take long.

I read something about Old Town being for partiers, and I should have paid attention. Not the greatest spot for our family. We just stayed the night before flying home. Lots of bachelorette parties, beer cycles, saloons, stores with similar items. Cutesy but not really our scene anymore.

Wanted to go to Old Town but streets were barricaded with police and National Guard, couldn’t find any place to eat dinner, very disappointing.

Old Scottsdale was great, loads of amazing shops, immaculate streets. Very pretty, people are so friendly, easy walking distance from where we stayed.

We always coming here to walk around and window shop and sometimes buy something. The stores have really good southwestern items and general tourist stuff. All in all a good place to walk around for a couple hours.

Definitely worth a visit, just to see it. However: I'm no fan of cheap, made in China, "authentic" Indigenous "art", and this area is full of it. Shameful, really. Apart from that, you will find some galleries with authentic local art and decent eateries. Also one (only one?) Indigenous-owned gallery. (And do they really still call Indigenous/Native/First Nations people "Indians"?)

Its very commercial with lots of gift shops, but find your way to the old school house museum which has a fine display explaining the history of Scottsdale, including photos of Mr and Mrs Scott

The single street old town was a fresh change compared to the area’s new hotels and shopping. The newer development comes across as opposing and plastic. Old town is a bit kitsch. though definitely with a stroll through to soak in some character.

I'm very disappointed in Old Town Scottsdale. It's a dump ! The surrounding stores like CVS, Frye's and other stores, with the exception of Fashion Square, are a dump. Dirty parking lots. The stores are dirty inside. There are a few lovely boutiques, but for the most part it's a giant flea market.

We went to Scottsdale to begin a seven day Gate1 tour of the Grand Canyon and National Parks in Southwestern Utah. We stayed at Hilton Garden Inn in Old Town. Nice hotel. right in Old Town. We just spent some time in the afternoon in the pool. Then in the evening we walked across the street to Old Town for dinner.

This is the part of town where we spent time as we expected some atmosphere. What we found was a lot of shopping and a little bit of atmosphere. Some of the stores were quite unique and the area was pedestrian-friendly.

We come to the Phoenix area often and stay in Scottsdale. We did Old Town once or twice and avoid the area. We only go to Scottsdale Stadium once in a great while now. The traffic around Scottsdale can be awful with over caffeinated, stressed out workers honking at you from cars they probably can't afford. The roads are narrow for the most part and not designed for the rapid growth the entire area has experienced. Other Scottsdale roads have drivers racing at 50+ miles an hour to red traffic lights a few hundred feet away and then slamming on their brakes. Brake shops must make a bundle here with the stupid racing and slamming on of brakes. They need to lower the speed limit on most roads and improve the parking situation.

Nice little main street with some shops and restaurants. Mostly jewelry, all the same in every store. There is no public transportation, so if you are staying outside the Main Street area (and there's not a lot right at the Main Street area), then you are walking. There is some limited golf cart transportation in the afternoon/evening, but not much. There is a nice little municipal park at the end. But overall, an hour or two should do it. Don't make this a long-term destination.

Plenty of shops to window shop and check out. Boutiques, local crafts, clothing, hiking, foods. Very nice to stop in at a few wineries for a flight or glass. Options for lunch or dinner!

Beautiful area of Scottsdale with tons of shops and restaurants. In general, it is walkable but being from the Northeast, no matter how much water we carried, no matter how much we lathered up, no matter the sunglasses and hats we wore, we were too hot within the hour. Very happy there is underground parking so the car can cool off.

A few years ago, we went to Old Town Scottsdale and there was a free trolley that went around the Old Town Scottsdale area with an audio describing the historical buildings. Our main purpose for our recent visit was to ride the trolley, so we were disappointed that there was no longer a trolley. Please bring back the trolley! Otherwise, Old Town Scottsdale is just a tourist trap filled with shops, restaurants and bars. A sad experience - there are homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks. When the public restrooms were opened first thing in the morning, there was a poor homeless lady in the restroom underneath the hand dryer trying to get warm (this was in January).

This place is pretty neat! Great shops and restaurants, but be prepared to spend some $$$ Lots of 'jewelry' stores and although the art and bling are seriously beautiful, it's also very expensive...

Shopping was good. A lot of stores have the same things so leads me to believe that it s “mass produced” stuff. Some good stores. I would definitely recommend checking this out.

Best place to spend winter months. Best place to live and visit in AZ. A lot of restaurant options and incredible nightlife. You can walk everywhere you’ll want to be in old town.

There's certainly some interesting gift shops and neat stores to explore. A lot of the stores carry the same tourist stuff as other stores. But just understand and expect you're going to a tourist trap. Some shop employees stand outside their shop and talk to you and try to get you to come in. This was especially true of the beauty / make up shops who also give you a little dis on your appearance and how their products can help. It was better to walk in the center of the street to avoid them.

The Thursday night Gallery Walk is a great way to spend an evening. The art is amazing. You will leave the evening feeling a sense of calm and inspiration.

This is a typical tourist shopping area with some good restaurants. There was nothing special or of note about the area. On-street parking was pretty easy to find.

We enjoyed the market and the shopping. It was a nice touristy area with tons of souvenirs, jewelry etc. seemed like plenty of saloons as well but we were a little early for partying.

Old town Scottsdale
Great area for shopping and eating. Definitely go to the Sugar Bowl! Parking this time of year is fine. Many galleries and just local shopping.

Very cool area to walk around and do a bit a bit of shopping. Lots of shops to choose from. Also some good restaurants and bars to stop in and grab a cold drink.

Old town offers lots of shopping and nice walks along streets with small businesses.
I felt comfortable and was not afraid

Great area to check out the shopping and restaurants. Something going on for everyone! We all bought gorgeous turquoise!

Terribly racist town, if you are black or native locals will tell you it's a "no n***** zone". Don't spend your money here they are hateful and entitled.

We visited in March. Besides the baseballism store, all the shops are art, jewelry, souvenir, senior citizen clothing or western wear stores. Disappointing .

Old town Scottsdale was great place to spend an afternoon. They have a lot of small shops selling all kinds of souvenirs and plenty of places to eat. The great part is there is lots of parking and it's all within walking distance. Some of the clubs have great music and once the sun goes down it's very easy to find your spot if you want to party. I will be back on my next visit for sure, lots of fun here.

My first trip to Scottsdale was only four days. A few people recommended Old Town Scottsdale. A group of four of us spent a sunny afternoon walking through many shops. I was honestly shocked that most of the shops were trinkets or.very tacky. I had been told it was a great area to spend an afternoon. To be fair, we didn't try any of the restaurants. The entire area was not busy. The only upside was it was a sunny day and we were outside. It really was a waste of our time and I regret that we visited this area during such a short vacation. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. There has to be better shopping in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area.

We have been coming here for years. It used to be our favorite place, but it is losing it's charm. Too many homeless. We had to chase homeless people out of our locked condo hotub. Our locked condo parking lot had homeless people sleeping in their cars. Public restrooms and restaurant restrooms were locked, which makes it hard to walk from pub to pub having a drink. If I come again, I will avoid drinking due to lack of public restrooms. The Old town trolley which was convenient for moving from one bar/restaurant/shop to another is gone. The biggest problem was restrooms and trolley are still on google and iphone maps, so I walked 5 blocks to a restroom that was locked. Going downhill fast.

Try the mission restaurant great Latin food, tequila concoctions and our server was amazing.! Slammed on a Monday night so that tells you something 💥👍

Social distancing has never been so fun! Beautiful art & gardens! Fun photo ops too! Kids got to run! Grabbed take out too!

Fun little area to shop and eat. There plenty of restaurants, bars and unique places to shop. Good for couples, solo or families.

Fun to walk around, but the local shops, adobe buildings with cooling courtyards, and traditional Mexican restaurants are fewer each year, replaced by fancy new condos and more chain restaurants. More preservation is needed to ensure the special flavor and feel of Old Town!

Fun place to spend a few hours. Shopping and many places to eat. Lots of breakfast eateries. Locals seem to love it here too. We recommend visiting!

Nice tourist place. Free street parking.
The guacamole, Pico, salsa and chips was amazing at loco Patron. nice happy hour very inexpensive drinks

I heard so much about old town and it didn’t disappoint. The shops are really very nice and they sell great southwestern items. At night it’s really buzzing.

Fun downtown area with plenty of restaurant choices. (Emphasis on Mexican, my favorite) Too many jewelry stores that basically all carried the same thing and seemed somewhat overpriced. Would have liked more variety in the shopping but still a good time.

Nice place to walk around in a bustling historic area.
Lots of energy and unpretentious.
I also enjoyed that facemasks were optional given that I have had COVID, AND both rounds of my vaccine.

The old town streets are filled with tourist trinket shops, art stores, and southwest jewelry stores, with a few restaurants sprinkled in. If you’re into that, this is the place for you. Plenty of street parking for free for 3 hours.

Visited old town Scottsdale in Dec 2020 during Covid pandemic. Many restaurants, shops and clubs were closed. Still had some options to dine.

This is a must see in the Phoenix area. Galleries of all kinds with lots of fun and food around. Everyone wearing masks and covid protections are good.

Older hotel, but great location, clean big rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast buffet is also good. A good stay

We've visited many times over the years. A lot of (jewelry) stores were closing. The Town was much less crowded than previous years. We had lunch at AZ88 which I would highly recommend.

I was excited to tour old town. But it fell way short of my expectations. it is basically your typical tourist trap. A ton of stores all selling the same thing. Bars and restaurants are average at best.

It's a fun time checking this place out, very fun shops and restaurants in the area. Definitely worth checking out once.

Nuce Gallery's, average shopping, a few good but not great restaurants..a nice couple of museums...Covid kinda making bar scene irrelevant. An ok visit on a cold or rainy (haha) day. It is not Old or very Western.

Your website address comes up as a "Sorry this page doesn't seem to exist" like its not sure. DO you exist or not?

Old Town is worth a visit at least once. There are many restaurants, art dealers, junk dealers....your typical tourist destination things. I would not want to go in July or August, but February was great for walking around. Much to see and do. Would I go back? Not anytime soon...been there, done that kinda thing. You can find quiet spots, but make no mistake, it gets busy and loud and well, where there are tons of bars, there are tons of people who drank a bit too much.

We enjoyed walking around this quaint town. Lots of restaurant choices and great shopping. Free parking available

Great place to absorb the ‘old and new’ Scottsdale. Multiple galleries, jewlery stores and tasty restaurants. Take time on your next visit to stroll around.

Our last full day in the Phoenix area before returning home we visited Old Town Scottsdale to check out the shops and to have lunch. We parked and walked around and visited a number of store that had souvenirs, pottery, t-shirts, and craft style merchandise.
The one thing for sure is that there are many different choices for food and beverages. We ate lunch at Cien Agaves Mexican Restaurant and it was real good...Plus it had a nice atmosphere and was worth the visit.
Old Town Scottsdale was a fun afternoon of shopping, eating, walking and even relaxing while visiting the area...

THERE ARE SO MANY INDIAN SHOPS !!!! 1st of all that isn’t correct they should be called native Americans or indigenous. Walking down the streets there is much mid representation of native Americans. As I went into the shops there have Native American jewelry for 5x the price it’s worth. These are white people profiting off the indigenous arts and Jewelry! I saw one one or 2 stores that said owned by native Americans. Will not being going back! Felt very racist. much more but you can see for your self. Bad experience. Don’t support !!! ITS ALMOST 2022 they should be educated before they sell and profit off the culture!! Acknowledge them correctly!!!

Daytime it’s a fun and family friendly shopping and dining atmosphere that is pedestrian friendly. Night time it comes alive with fine dining and nightclubs.

I just moved right down the road from here. There always seems to be something going on. On Saturdays there's a farmers market with a lot of good local foods. There are a large number of good restaurants and bars. There's plenty of parking which is surprising considering how many people are walking around on the streets. The San Francisco Giants spring training baseball stadium is right there. And there are great hospitals and doctors in the area. There is very good shopping at the fashion square Mall. Also there are plenty of artsy type stores to walk around also near like Main Street and Scottsdale road.

Really cool downtown area. Lots of history and shopping. We found some great restaurants as well. Must see.

Fun atmosphere and very relaxing afternoon. We enjoyed an afternoon of a little shopping, lunch and drinks as we listened to some live music.

Although the temperature was over 100 degrees when we visited, we enjoyed walking around and visiting the stores. Belle's Tavern was really hopping as was the Rusty Spur!

We spent good parts of two different days shopping and eating in this area. We found the merchants to be friendly and a good variety of types of merchandise available. We found everything from high-end art pieces to fun souvenirs with a lot of stuff in between. It’s clean and easy to walk around. There are also lots of restaurants in the area, so it’s easy to make a whole day of it.

We loved walking around every evening to see the many shops and trying the different restaurants. we will definitely visit again

We stayed in Scottsdale and didn’t even know we were so close to Old Town. This area is amazing for shops and restaurants. You could walk around all day! Daily Dose cafe was great for breakfast and Cien Agaves has amazing tacos. Kactus Jock has awesome souvenirs and tshirt designs.

Lots of great shops and boutiques. Fun to walk around and pop in the little shops. Wide rang in pricing, but mostly on the higher end.

Great place to spend an afternoon with someone special. Walking around and stopping in all the gift shops and art galleries. Plenary of shops to buy Christmas gifts!

A must visit when in Phoenix/Scottsdale. So many great dining options and cute boutique shops all around. Highly recommend to walk around, parking is free for upto 3 hours, which should be enough for you get a feel of what this whole area has to offer.

Shopping is the primary reason for this neighborhood. Quaint older area, with unique architectural features that date back to an earlier era.
There is an upscale mall adjacent to the area if you are looking for even higher prices.
Some history in the area, like an old Mission and a museum in the original little red schoolhouse. Those are mostly to the southeast.

Very interesting and informative. Plan on 4-5 hours to really see all the different geographic areas of the world.

Old Scottsdale has numerous stores & shop. Indian items, jewelry, clothing & great restaurants. We especially like the wine bars. Merkin vineyards had AZ wines. Great reds. Light menu for food. But choices were delicious. Pizza, pasta & bacon wrapped figs to die for. Figs & red wine, what a treat.
2 parts to Old Scottsdale. Make sure you see both.

Staying in Scottsdale for a week visiting family. We live in Tampa Florida and have a condo in midtown Manhattan and travel quite a bit in the US and abroad. Honestly not sure why anyone would be a tourist or take a vacation here ( or even live here ) because there really is not much except desert weather. Nevertheless there are touristy shops and restaurants in “Old Town” and we had a few hours to kill today so headed over there. Was just shocked at the aggressiveness of shop owners , overpriced junk except for maybe one gallery and overall low brow and flea market atmosphere. Pushy owners standing outside their shops like panhandlers. Come on now .

There are uneaten food not picked up by trash collectors. Scavenging birds throwing vile smelling good scraps everywhere.

Nice visit. Lots of overpriced tourist shops but nice to walk around. Found an excellent local Modern Latin restaurant “The Mission”.

My wife and I had some time to kill between checking out of our hotel and getting to the airport so decided to check out Old Town Scottsdale. We got there fairly early so parking was pretty easy in front of the shops but it did appear to be a little harder when we were leaving to find a spot. The area is extremely walkable and had a cool old school charm about it. There were definitely some kitchy tourist shops, but it had some really neat shops there as well. We did pass a couple of cool looking saloons but it was a bit early to be drinking but will probably be back to check them out. Overall it was a bit warm outside but there was plenty of shade and the shops all offered air conditioning. It was a neat area to walk around, shop and kill some time.

We go every year for my wife's birthday celebration. We usually stay at the Marriott Old Town or the Valley Ho. The Marriott is a bit less expensive and actually is closer to the center of Old Town. The Valley Ho is a retro-mod hotel and good fun.
We usually park the car and walk everywhere during the weekend. We always hit the Rusty Spur Saloon. A small place, but big fun!! They most always have a solo artist playing good music and the staff is great.
We usually take in the shops and galleries during the day and typically try different restaurants each evening.
A few recommended places to see:
The Waterfront
Fashion Square
Museums
Many galleries and stores in old town
A few recommended places to eat:
Citizen Public House (upscale but reasonable)
JT Prime Kitchen (a bit small & "dark" but good food, a tad $$$$)
The Mission (good Mexican food - if outside watch out for the birds at dusk)
Bootleggers (good smokehouse, usually not too crowded. Try the shine)
Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers (typical burger & beer joint but tasty)
We tried Bourbon & Bones once and found it very overpriced and not very good. Service and atmosphere below par.
Have fun!

They have great art gallarys in the Old Town area. We visited the catholic church as well which was very nice and welcoming. Most of the stores in area are souvenir shops and are what you should expect as such.

I’m from Phoenix, and went home for a visit last weekend. I was excited to stay in a ‘nice’ area, at the Marriott. The hotel was great, but Old Town has gone downhill. There are still great restaurants and bars, and it was nice during the day.
But I was scared by a homeless man following us after dark. There are so many people living on benches and sleeping all over this area. I was very uncomfortable walking around at night and didn’t go back out the second or third evening. The bars we tried to check out were full of people that could be drug dealers. Boondocks was in some kind of lockdown and had 6 police cars there. My family said it’s been this way for awhile and suggested staying further north on the next visit. This was so disappointing; this area used to be really nice.

We were here a few years ago, and not much as changed. Main street is lined with high-end art/sculpture shops while Scottsdale Avenue has restaurants and kitsch shops. We ate at Cien Agaves and it was very good. Margaritas were excellent.
Note..lots of free, underground parking at Scottsdale Museum of the west.

It is like any other tourist old town place. Most of the stores have the same items and the bars are crowded and loud.

Cool area of Scottsdale. We came for the farmers market and spent the morning shopping and had lunch. The market is very nice with lots of vendors. They have all kinds of grease foods to buy and they have some food stands. Lots of jewelry shops and gift shops throughout old Town. Plenty of places to stop and get a bite to eat. Very enjoyable.

We visited OTS on a Sunday afternoon and had a great time walking around and seeing the terrific shops and the wonderful goods that Scottsdale has to offer. We especially appreciated the picturesque roundabouts and plentiful maps, info and parking. Don't miss the Buffalo Collection! It is a feast for the eyes and Christin couldn't be nicer.

We spent hours exploring here. All types of shops. Prices for the most part are extremely high, however it is free to look and you can find deals if you look in the right spots. The area is like nowhere else and that’s why I would recommend Old Town Scottsdale to anyone visiting.

We enjoyed walking around but we went in the early evening/late afternoon and many of the shops were closed. There were some nice shops with Western Wear for ladies and men with unique and upscale items. Also some beautiful art galleries to browse.

You need a couple of days to really explore. Find a parking spot and walk. We visited a vintage toy store with so many old board games. Lots for everyone to see and do. Great outdoor cafes. Unique shops as well as unique cafes. Some old favourites as well

This isn't one of those things most of us would admit but multiple women I knew mentioned this over the years. Some walk away from this mall being mentally tortured inside and socially for not buying much or browsing long. Plus had to deal with some snarky comments off the shop gallery owners...This area has some kind of trouble off of it. Made rest of trip unpleasant and stuck around.

We enjoyed walking around Old Town Scottsdale and we found a quaint Mexican restaurant that had delicious Mexican food and we were treated to sopapillas for desert. Great food and exceptional service.
Of course we knew it would be hot outside but we also enjoyed going into the shops in the area. I was hoping to find a nice art gallery and they had a few but they weren’t all open. Maybe due to it being off season in Scottsdale. It’s a nice area to checkout if you’re interested.

I had a blast shopping for turquoise and souvenirs with my mom and sister. My nephews rode around on the scooters for fun. There are so many cool shops and interesting restaurants. I wish I had more time to spend there. The shop owners were really nice and gave great customer service. There are cute little photo opportunities as well.

We had a blast. We ate and had ice cream at the Sugar Bowl, shopped and stopped at the Rusty Spur Saloon

We stumbled on the Old Town while staying in Biltmore, Phoenix as part of a road trip. It’s a gorgeous little place, with lots of free parking. There are multiple shops selling native crafts as well as restaurants and other shops. We walked thru the shopping area for a while - it was hot!! But definitely worth seeing if visiting the nearby area.

Old Scottsdale is so much fun. The art galleries are beautiful. The Museum of the West is fabulous. The modern art is incredible. The movies are so interesting. The silver saddles and cowboy relics are fun to see….and the statues are quite remarkable. And then there are the restaurants which are fabulous. A day in old Scottsdale is well worth the trip!

Definitely worth a visit when in the area. Covid has definitely had an impact with lots of stores closed and few people walking around. It has a very cute old timey feel and lots of interesting stores. The newer section where more of the galleries and higher end shops are is also a lovely place to take a walk after dinner. We found a really fun shop with unique shirts and clothes for my daughters called the Rolling Rack. She commissions local artists who tie dye clothes and print funny sayings.
There are so many places to eat in the area. Highly recommend Barrio Queen! Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long long time.

Wonderful time in a great touristy area. Lots of shops, so look around, some stores have better pricing for same or similar items. The little cactus plants are adorable and easy to travel with because they come in their little boxes. These make great souvenirs. Great lively restaurants and bars. Felt safe the whole time.

Don't get me wrong, old town Scottsdale is still a nice place to visit. We've visited several times over the years since 2000 and can see a slow change. We feel it used to have more of the old west charm, family friendly, safe and laid back. We feel it's increasingly more upmarket art galleries, jewellery shops and more panhandlers (one of which was a bit verbally aggressive which made us move on quickly) - we understand the cost of living and social/mental/drug problems can be a cause which is also a problem here in the UK. There's still a few places holding on to the old charm like the Sugar Bowl, Mexican Imports etc. There used to be a lovely shop we couldn't now find selling native and western things at reasonable prices run by some older ladies but couldn't remember what the shop was called or exactly where it was in old town, I guess that's history like the nice ice cream parlour Cactus Cones I think it was called. Scottsdale city states that free parking is now 2 hours but it was still 3 hours as before when we went so not sure what's going on there, I hope they've dropped that idea (there was ample free parking). I do hope that Old Town Scottsdale doesn't turn like in to a little version of Hollywood with all the contradicting fakery and deprivation that comes along with that. Will be interesting to see again in a few more years time.

Covid has caused some shops and galleries to close. Still, an enjoyable re-visit to places we’ve been before. Very few pedestrians. Shoppers seemed to want their big Fashion Square experience. Ugh! You can get generic upscale stores shopping anywhere and everywhere.

When I came here with my friends, we were walking around the old town and looking at some arts gallery. I went on February which was nice weather outside, but still cold. Thus, I suggest to wear jacket for walking outside.
Also, we can get the unique things for collection or gift to friends/ family from many stores around.

A lot of art and jewelry shops that all seemed to have the same stuff but a fun place to check out. We went in the morning and we did find that a lot of stores do not open until 10 am or later. Lots of pubs and restaurants in the area if you wanted to stay for lunch or dinner. Town shuttle is certainly a good way to get around the town.

Very touristy but filled with fun. I love the vibe in Old Town,...We always make it a priority to visit the area anytime were in town. Lots of great places to eat in the area and lots of fun bars too. You can't go wrong wherever you go!

Do not plan to go anywhere you have to walk outdoors in the summer! 93 degrees at 9:30 a.m. Went to Old Town at "high noon" and if you weren't ducking in and out of stores just for the ac you were hoping your vehicle could find you and you wouldn't have to find it. I think I would have enjoyed it in the evening or some other time of the year.

We visited the town and spent time in old town. We saw a lot of blatant touristy people of the younger sector. Lots of younger bar drunk people there. The stores were nice and lots of stuff to browse, most are tourist traps. We were tourists yes, but I guess most would catch the blatant tourist mantra. The locals were even saying the tourists were out, but tourists are your income. Was built around the 20-35 crowd lots of bars. Not for us

Cute town, but not my kind of shopping. Either Native American crafts or high end stores. Nothing of interest to us. We did eat outside at a very good Mexican restaurant though. I would highly recommend Barrio Queen!

Nice clean safe atmosphere for casual and high end shopping. Lots of tourist shops- good deals and authentic western apparel. Safe atmosphere during COVID- respectful of masks.

This was our first time to visit old town Scottsdale. We enjoyed our day walking through all the shops and eating at the restaurants there. We walked around in the park area and toured the Giants spring training also. The area is very well kept and would recommend spending time there.

Great area to spend an afternoon lots to see and great shops. Very dog friendly!! Some restaurants allow dogs on the patio.

Nothing special about this area, which really is not an old area, just a collection of shops selling tourist material

Loved the atmosphere of old town Scottsdale! It’s a fun lazy afternoon stroll and some shopping. We also stop for a drink and grab lunch at a Mexican restaurant.

Lots of shop variety. Lots of places to eat. Looking for an Arizona souvenir- you’ll find it here. You’ll also find Zoltan fro the movie Big

This place is a strange collection of gift shops, galleries and Hooter type bars with whooping pubescents on every street corner. If you look up tacky in the dictionary you are going to find this place. It is full of redneck tourists, wide-eyed and frantically buying up Arizona branded shot glasses.
The one thing it is good for is people watching.

Loved getting out into the desert and learning about the plants and wildlife. Who knew a desert Pac Rat was a real thing ?! Weather was perfect and nights were clear enough to see stars. Will return to Scottsdale again and spend mire time in Sedona.

Old Town Scottsdale is full of some very unique stores, and a handful of touristy t-shirt shops. It's a great place to people watch, and in March especially, the sidewalks get very crowded. Some decent food - try the Rusty Spur for a hamburger, and The Mission for some really good Mexican food. Don't forget to visit the Old Adobe Mission - beautiful in its simplicity.

Great country shopping, galleries, restaurants, bars to choose from. Lite up with Christmas decor. Many streets to explore. Good walking shoes for alot of steps. Busy streets and hard parking. We were within walking distance of Old Town since we stayed at Bespoke Inn within a few short blocks of walking. The art district was closeby as well.

Very nice small museum on the history Scottsdale
Very interesting and informative worth the visit to better see how Scottsdale came to be

Really fun old town with loads of quirky and not so quirky restaurants. Great statues on one corner depicting western art. Lots of street parking and pay lots.

There are many restaurants to choose from with a nice variety of different foods. The Sugar Bowl is a nice old fashioned ice cream parlor with fresh ice cream and a large selection to choose from. Definitely worth a visit.
There also is a nice variety of shops with many different things to look at and buy. They range from typical tourist types of items to unique, hand made items. It’s easy to find something for yourself or as a gift for someone back home.

Old Town in Scottsdale keeps getting better. As a snowbird coming out for winter months, Old Town is our go-to place to dine, walk, and pass a beautiful afternoon. Yes, there are t-shirt stores and turquoise jewelry galore, but there is also an abundance of quality art galleries, restaurants and bars, boutiques and entertainment. The Civic Center which boasts a wonderful performing arts center has a lovely theater where you can’t get a bad seat and a program rich with diverse entertainment, not to mention a wonderful gift shop. Free concerts every Sunday in the winter draw enthusiastic spectators enjoying the music and the glorious weather on the lawn as some shoppers grab a bite or shop the vendors who display their crafts around the venue. The waterfront area offers some of our favorite restaurants, and Art Walk on Thursday nights is a visitor’s delight as the galleries remain open and streets are decorated with lights and filled with street musicians. If that’s not enough to bring you here, parking is free and abundant. How welcoming can a city be! We love you, Scottsdale!

Old Towne is quaint and chic at the same time. Great place to just stroll, shop or both. Wide variety of shops and restaurants. Beautiful grounds which are well kept.

Just had a wonderful time walking through the shops and experiencing Scottsdale with my soon. Bought some great jewlery.

Great shopping, though fairly predictable stores - lots of silver jewelry. But enough fun places to pop into to make this worth the trip. Super friendly shop owners at every turn. Very "walkable". It was cool when we visited, but I imagine the shaded sidewalks make shopping in the heat more bearable.

We love walking around Old Town and taking in the sights and sounds. Not only is there plenty of history here, but also lots of modern fun like beer trolleys and buskers.
We highly recommend parking your car and just wandering and enjoying!

So many cute shops here as well as great restaurants. We always spend a couple hours browsing when we come to Scottsdale. Usually, there’s not a lot of open parking available, but tourism is down due to the pandemic, so there were plenty of open spaces. I love the Old West look of the buildings, and the assortment of shops. Definitely worth a visit.

Very clean, beautiful shops and lots of local artisans selling local goods - not so much tourist Made In China factory stuff. HIGHLY recommend the Rusty Spur - note there no seating list or wait list, you hawk and swoop for a table :)

Lots of things to do and stores to visit in Old Town Scottsdale. A perfect place to shop for souvenirs like jewelry, t-shirts and gifts for friends and family back home. There are wonderful art galleries that ficus on Western and Native American culture.

There is so much to do in Scotsdale, Arizona. An Olive oil store, gellatios and plenty of food too. Visited the Little Red Schoolhouse and Art Museum.

On one of my days off during my business trip, I went into town to explore a bit. It was nice to experience the old town.

Three of us visited Old Town on Feb. 3rd when it hosted El Parada Del Sol Parade. Lots of horses and marching bands! This was followed by a "Street Fair." The streets were blocked off from traffic and there were food trucks, Mexican dancing performances, beer tents and several outdoor live music venues. LOTS of people walking, shopping, eating, dancing and just enjoying themselves! There are lots of interesting shops, some with museum quality wares. There are lots of restaurants and cafes, most with outdoor dining. I found Old Town to be tony and upscale, while at the same time, comfortable and laid-back, with an Old West vibe. I would have loved to have spent more time here!

We spent a pleasant afternoon browsing the shops and galleries in the Arts District and Old Town Scottsdale. They have goods and merchandise to interest a variety of shoppers, from t-shirts, Indian jewelry and tourist memorabilia to high end arts and fashions. Beautiful public art placed throughout the district. We had a relaxing lunch on the terrace at The Herb Box, located near the horse fountain and then strolled! Lots of free public parking is available nearby. A fun afternoon.

Fun area to wander around. Lots of shops and restaurants and bars. Fun for the 21+ crowd. Would like to go back and explore more.

Spent a day walking the streets, shops and restaurants of Old Scottsdale. Bought some souvenirs and enjoyed visiting with people. Recommended

We window-shopped and I bought a western belt in one of the stores. We also had dinner at a Mexican restaurant and it was good. It is worth a stroll.

We walked throughout area twice. Stopped for beer one day, wine another. Cute unique stores, but we were not really interested in purchasing. It is pleasant, but is mostly just shopping.

A great area! Many different food options and little shops. There were also a few people playing music on the street. Definitely a place to check out. We have so much fun the first time we went back for another meal.

I love that we stayed in Old Town Scottsdale, so much in walking distance. I'd definitely recommend staying here. We've had an amazing experience and I'm sure we'll be back

Many shops, but really with a lot of the same. Nice to walk around on a beautiful day. Many good restaurants. Check out the Sugar Bowl for your favorite ice cream treat. Some nice artwork, good for photo ops. Pretty much everyone was wearing a mask in the street with covid precautions which was good.

Something for everyone. Personally I like the Art being from the Midwest don’t get to see original art so when I come to Old Town I head for every gallery

Interesting to walk around and look at the various shops on a nice day. Mostly jewelry and Native American stuff with high end bookstores like Anticus as well who also sell pricey art. They had a number of interesting pieces by Dr. Seuss and cartoonist Chuck Jones. And since it's Scottsdale it's going to be expensive.
However, we did find a place that had a bunch of small booths with artsy items on consignment. Found some good souvenirs there that weren't too pricey. There's places to eat in the area as well. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon in April so no crowds. No homeless people. Might be a different vibe on weekends.
Watch out for a guy on the street selling used books in front of Arizona West Galleries. He's interesting to talk to, but charges the full original price of the used books. It's not like they're rare first editions lol

Part is cheap, cheesy touristy old western like, part is very fancy expensive art, lots of shops for a range of budgets! Great to bike around. Great to find a place to eat. The canal is beautiful!

Old town was interesting with the various shops and museums. Many food options but we enjoyed Sugar Bowl for lunch

Great way to spend an afternoon. Lots of shopping with a few good bars and restaurants. We had a fun time and will go back on our next trip to Phoenix and Scottsdale.

Lots of unique little shops. Some were closed or one only by appointment which was a little bit of a bummer.

Lots of shops, restaurants and a very nice area to walk around. I actually went twice. It’s a great place for souvenirs. Best of all, free parking for 3 hours!

The Mission in Old Town Scottsdale was one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever gone to. Original takes on standard recipes and great atmosphere!

Had visited many years ago but only had a few hours. This time we walked. Enjoyed ice cream and took our time. Lots of shops and restaurants

Pretty, clean, historic - what is not to love. At least worth a slow drive through to step back in time. Worth visiting multiple times.

Very cool place to spend some time! Lots of shops to browse! Great restaurants and bars! Parking is accessible on streets. Public restrooms in center of town were unique. We visited during the week so there were not that many people but I am sure on weekends the place is packed! Watch out for the people with the serums and moisturizers that "will make you younger and take your wrinkles away"! They are relentless and the same as the foreigners that run the kiosks in the malls!

Liked the area a lot! Loved the history tour of the town. Restaurants were fun and easy. Lots of walking and the Rusty Spur was one of our favorite places

Great place to walk around. Lots of cool little shops, bars and restaurants. Lots of history if you look for it. But in the end...it’s just shopping so you have to like doing that. Otherwise mainly a tourist hotspot.

Fun area of Scottsdale. There are many stores & restaurants, with hotels sprinkled around. Especially fun at night when it is packed, especially with the “20 something”years olds. Saw a lot of brides & their girlfriends partying & laughing. It can be too hot mid day to enjoy it. A must see & experience!
Adjacent to Old Town is a huge indoor mall.

It was one of the worst customer service experiences in my life. The food was good. The wait staff was great. The manager Zack was the most incompetent tone deaf humans ever. He has Zero customer service skills. When I told him that we were on our 17 year anniversary which was in their notes he said “yeah we dropped the ball”. I also informed him that they sat my wife and I on a poorly ducted taped together bench , which again he acknowledged. He said sorry next time we will do better. I asked him for his last name he then hung up on me. I called back, did you really hang up on me ? I wasn’t cursing or abusive, I didn’t even raise my voice. I said, I just wanted your last name, he said “I’m Zack the manager that’s all you need to know”. He then said, “I offered you guys to come back and dine with us again on us”. Which he actually never said to me at all. He then immediately said, your harassing me and you are not welcomed to dine with us here again”. He then hang up on me, again. I run a few customer service oriented businesses In my thirty plus years, I have never hung up on a customer . I have always given them my full name and made it right. The staff was great the food was good but this “manager”might want to revisit what customer service is and shelf his ego. Zack the manger is not a name but merely a title. When you know you have failed own it dont take it out on the customer.

Not really worth the hype if you are travelling with small children. Mostly just shops all selling the same souvenir type things. The art galleries are neat, but don’t keep a small child’s attention. Good food options, lots of bars, would be a lot more fun for people travelling without kids. The museum is overpriced for what you get to see.

We wandered around and if shopping is your goal, there are many stores to visit. There are lots of restaurants as well.

Me and my boyfriend went to this wonderful shopping area/ restaurant area. We really enjoyed our time! The stores and food were affordable some were understandable prices due to them being art. All the staff members of each store were OUTSTANDING and very helpful. They helped each other out and recommended places. This is a great locations for photos as well !

Well developed old town area of shopping and restaurants.
Hopefully in the future the costly can convert some streets into pedestrian walkways without cars.

This was a neat area to walk around. Lots of little shops and restaurants line the streets. The employees at most of the places were very friendly, and helpful. There were several free parking garages throughout the area. It is a fun place to just people watch!

This was a fun place for us to visit that was chock full of quaint stores with unique decorative gift items, outdoor art and sculptures, water features, a large 1989 Bob Parks Bronze Fountain with Horses, and tons of restaurants around the Arizona Canal that runs right through the Old Town. The Old South - West theme prevalent everywhere was charming.
Parking was ample and free in several areas, and was at a walking distance from the Main Street. We felt safe strolling around the brightly lit streets, taking in the all the sights and the sounds -- even though most of the stores were closed when we visited on a Sunday evening.
A “Must Visit” if you are in Scottsdale.

One of the main attractions if not the main attraction depending upon your reason for visiting the area in the first place. Restaurants, retail of every caliber, boutiques, galleries and bars doesn’t began to cover the wide range of businesses in this historic retailed center of Scottsdale town center The western themed area is a walkable attraction where you can decide your direction and time limit and hardly ever run of something new around the next corner.
What I would call a shopping/entertainment district of upscale Scottsdale area has such a diverse array of stores that carried everything from high priced art to cheap, less than a dollar souvenirs, in other words something for everyone sort of interspersed with each other. Thousand-dollar sculptures in one store and Santa Clause snow globes across the street. Upscale boutiques on one corner, t-shirt stalls on the other. As Scottsdale’s only bonified family friendly attraction that can entertain you for the better part of a whole afternoon and beyond if you dine there, Old Town Scottsdale caters to the visitor as well as the locals. Ample free parking is available depending upon the time of day and the time of year you visit, otherwise a little searching and or walking may be necessary. The southwestern theme is prevalent but not dominant in every store or restaurant, but if you’re looking for a new pair of boots or a new cowboy hat, you’ll find it here. Many of the stores carry unique one of a kind hand made items while some carry internationally recognized brands.
Take the time to visit at least once while in town for whatever reason your there.

Great little old town super nice to walk around, some of the coolest little shops I have never seen before

This area of shops and restaurants is a good way to start your visit to Scottsdale. Many of the shops are unique, but some are just touristy. Be sure to go into the art galleries, too. Some very interesting things to see. We stopped in at Anticus Art Gallery and saw original Dr. Seuss drawings that were really interesting. As well as met a dog named Chewy who was a Wheaten/Poodle mix. The young gallery guides were very helpful and not intimidating at all. We also found good assortments of souvenirs and trinkets it you want those.

The museum was good with all the indian photos on display. I fould the shops all were the same selling the same things.

Cool old town with lots of restaurant and retail options. It is a close walking distance from the Spring training baseball field. If you’re into the party scene you will have lots of rowdy bars to pick from. If you’re into the art scene you will have an amazing variety of art stores. Also great place for foodies. This area does cater to the tourist so you will find the prices a little higher.

We had an amazing time in Old Scottsdale - lots to do and see and amazing restaurants. Take a segway tour!

Great old town to visit with kids as family. It’s easy to get here and parking is easy too. There are a few parks nearby so the kids can blow off steam. There are cute old western shops, restaurants and bars. It has an old west vibe that the kids loved.
I went wine tasting and heard live music and we were interviewed by fox 10 news.
Such a fun experience.

LOTS of jewelry stores but there are other shops as well, trading posts, Native American stores where in one there was a gentleman ‘singing’ a song, tattoo parlor, restaurants, free parking, pieces of outdoor art scattered about. If in the area it is definitely worth coming to stroll, grab a few souvenirs, a piece of jewelry, and grab a bite at one of the restaurants.

Old Town Scottsdale is a section of the city that has been “updated” to a modern old West feel and appearance. It offers many restaurants and shops to explore. You could easily spend several hours here browsing the streets. It is a very clean and safe area. The only drawback may be that parking seems to be limited.

We visited Old Town 15 years ago and had a marvelous experience. There were many interesting high end shops. We bought several pieces. This time, not at all. Nothing but turquoise jewelry shops and cheap trinkets. Where there were some more interesting things, they were limited, few and far between. Old Town was a big part of our trip plan, and was a bust inside two hours.

Shops, bars, pubs, restaurants, walkable streets, great atmosphere, slow pace and nice people. Were were here three times in one week.

A fun area with many shops and restaurants. Lots of shops to choose from and a variety of items and prices. Be sure to snap a photo in front of the Mission church. It closes at 4pm so I didn’t get to experience the inside.

Great to walk around, love the farmers market on Saturdays. Plenty of restaurants and shopping. Lots of excellent art galleries.

This area really lets you feel what it was like in old Arizona. The Western stores are delightful. There are very good restaurants around. The misters will help with the heat.
You will enjoy yourself.

I was staying at the Scottsdale Plaza Resort and shuttled to Old Town with family and friends.
What a delightful area. Something for everyone!
The walking was easy. The shops exciting and the photo opportunities plentiful.
A must see for any tourist.
I highly recommended visiting while in Scottsdale.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Scottsdale and they let us know we could call a number that had golf carts that brought you into Old Town Scottsdale. It was great, they showed us where to go and picked us up when we were done. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops, we had a great time.

Is Old Town a touristy area? Absolutely! Is it a “must” whenever we come from the chilly Midwest for a visit to watch Spring Training or Arizona Fall League baseball in “the Valley”? Of course! On this trip, we were accompanied by our children and six young grandchildren. Our first stop—a delicious breakfast at U.S. Egg, followed by a visit to the Scottsdale Southwest store for t-shirts or plush desert critters (examples: javelinas and jackalopes) and—of course—tiny bags of colorful rocks from the huge rock pile. After looking around a few more shops, or exploring the grassy “mall” area, we usually head a few blocks north to chose from the huge selection of cooling treats at The Gelato Spot. By then it’s time to put on swimsuits and jump in the pool!

We also took a tasting tour with Jason as our guide! It was great to taste different restaurants! He was very knowledgeable and fun! I highly recommend!

Old town has the best Mexican food Barrio Queen and around the corner you can shop FOMO fun gifts and lots of stores selling gifts. Pussy cat Gelato for dessert.

Great day/afternoon place to walk, shop, see some history. Friendly staff in restaurants and shops. Easy parking easy access

Very, very little foot traffic in the entire neighborhood (though the fact that it was June and 105 at the height of the day probably was the cause). Entirely too quiet for it be a fun walking or shopping experience.

Loved it. Great food attractions and lots of other things a very welcoming part down. If you come to Scottsdale don't just focus on North Scottsdale South Scottsdale is the Unsung Gem of the entire Scottsdale area.

Stop in to Porter’s for a great prickly pear margarita!!!!! Great owners! Family bar!!! Had a super conversation with like minded family business owners.

The look is different from more modern shopping areas, which makes it a charming place to take a stroll and stop for a meal, a drink, or ice cream. Most shops were souvenir shops. There’s plenty of free parking, at least on the Monday afternoon we were there.

There is plenty to do around here. Shops on every street, and it's perfect to find tourist gifts. Great place for a photo opt.

What a fun, great place to visit! Its a must see atleast once. Its an old western town that has a lott of history. Little shops and restaurants all over.

A lively and marvelous attraction to visit, Old Town Scottsdale has an old western town charm. There are a number of shops, restaurants, bars and art galleries that can be enjoyed here. In spite of being crowded, I found the vibe and energy infectious in a positive way. Strolling through the art galleries area and checking out the gallery exhibits was a wonderful experience. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and ice cream parlors - it was an absolute delight to walk around soaking the unique feel. The Old town is spread out over a few blocks and thus makes for a leisurely stroll. Alternately, one could choose to hop on to the free trolley which runs frequently and stops at multiple locations throughout the old town area. There are a some dedicated parking lots and a number of street parking spots so getting parking shouldn't be too difficult. Renovated old buildings, interspersed with beautiful bronze statues and little shops made for a memorable visit to Old Town Scottsdale!

Stayed in a hip hotel in the old town which was perfect to walk around and check all the magnificent art workband galleries. Had a great Thai massage and plenty of restaurants with variety.

Old Town is fun to visit but don't shop for inexpensive trinkets to take home. If you LOVE jewelry and have a surplus of money, this is the pace to visit! The vendors are very nice and helpful. The town is spread out over several blocks so walking is required!

Old Town has lots of interesting shopping and food. It was pretty hot when we were there but we still enjoyed the window shopping.

Fun area to shop around, sit out on the patio and eat or have a drink, possibly listen to live music, and relax.

Great shopping spot for clothing, boots, shoes, chotski, native-made jewelry, pottery, or baskets, Varied restaurants, bar/grills. Free parking. Good for just strolling and browsing.

Just OK shopping and eating area. A lot of high end galleries, and low end tourist stuff. Nothing really unique that we found.

Beautiful place, very 50's camp vibe with actually pretty good restaurants and views. If you run or bike the trails (one leading to this place) are enjoyable as well. There are a few bars/restaurants open late with music so fun hang out at night.

This is Samantha. This afternoon she took my husband and me on a private Segway tour of historic Scottsdale, Arizona. (We are staying at Cibola Vista for two weeks.). Here is a sample of what we saw.

Meh. Basically just a cluster of stores that sell either southwestern jewelry, tacky touristy trinkets, or cheesy clothing. I’d say skip it unless you’re really into southwestern jewelry.

It’s always great when friends come into town and want to see Old Town Scottsdale. Many restaurants to choose from and stores to stop in. Good energy.

I would say that this is a must-visit if you're in the area. Its nice to walk around, has some good places to eat, and also has one of my favorite bars (Rusty Spur). It isn't much of an old western area IMO, other than the general aesthetic of the streets and a few of the buildings. Most of the blocks consist of more modern restaurants, boutique shops, or jewelry stores.

The atmosphere of OTS is great. Decent restaurants are near. You can walk and shop and whatnot without the need for a car. It is small though, and expensive.

Don't bother...lots of tacky tourist shops that are way overpriced, including resale shops. Nothing unique to see here.

Cute restaurants, museums, shopping and souvenir all within walking distance of the Spa Resort. Everyone was very friendly and the service was FAST!

Good to go visit lights shops friends and close to our hotel! A must see who ever you are! Bring the kids the dog the cat your car motorcycle!

It was nice being back here, since my last visit with my mom in 1992! This time, I was back with my hubby as I was showing him the Scottsdale area for his first time. We shopped together at first, then we split-up so he could go for a walk. I browsed the shops for quite awhile, choosing my gift and clothing selections. Plenty of shops in this area for souvenir, and gifts needs.

I went to Scottsdale with friends for a few days. We stayed at the Hyatt Old Town, which was a great location. We were able to walk to all the great restaurants, bars, shops and galleries. We enjoyed our time in Scottsdale. Everyone we encountered was kind and polite. The hospitality was off the charts.

A step back in time...the old shops and simple contruction remind us of life was like before the American Revolution in this part of the country. Its charming and full of life with cafes, restaurants shops and bars. Full of locals as well as foreigners and well worth a trip while visiting.

Great collection of shops and galleries. Most shops have extensive collections of local artists work. Interesting jewelry also well represented

We enjoyed our stroll through Old Town although note that on a Sunday many businesses were closed. Nice assortment of gift shops, galleries, bars and restaurants.

We’d looked at photos and it appeared to be a fun and interesting place to spend some time and have dinner. There were the usual knick knack shops with touristy items. I wouldn’t put it on the “must do” list.

We stopped in Scottsdale on our way to see a friend. Old Town is really nice. We enjoyed the little shops and the ice cream.

Old charm, unique items and some shops have very reasonable prices. I enjoyed walking down and window shopping, parking is free and ample.

Shopping, drinks, food, and a great place to stroll. Don't miss walking the side streets for more places.

We stopped in about mid day and it wasn’t too crowded. There are lots of parking lots in the area.
There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the area. Some of the streets have covered sidewalks like a western town.

Lovely area with shopping, restaurants in all price ranges, Fun area. Definitely worth a visit. Family loved just walking around through the area.

This hotel has always been a solid choice—I’ve stayed here many times. The location is excellent, and the rooms are spacious (though admittedly dated).
What really set this property apart for Marriott elite members was the complimentary breakfast. Unfortunately, that benefit has changed for the worse. Now, the “elite breakfast” consists of fruit, yogurt, coffee, and one item from toast, a muffin, or a bagel. If you want anything more substantial, like eggs or a low-carb option, you’re charged an additional $10.
It feels like a downgrade rather than a perk, and frankly, it’s disappointing. Because of this change, I won’t be staying here again.

Lots of galleries and cute shops. Many good restaurants and the ambience of a small old town. Really hopping on the weekends.

hot, hot, hot, great old town restot3d buildings and lots and lots of souveneer shops. recommended at a cooler season. MeuterMedia

We stopped at Old Town Scottsdale on our way to Phoenix. What a neat place to spend the afternoon. Tons of shopping, bars and places to eat. We only had a limited amount of time and did not get an opportunity to see everything, which makes me want to return. I think it's definitely worth a visit. Fun place.

Old Town Scottsdale is a part of Scottsdale designed to look like an old western town. A small part is actually old. Most is a string of expensive gift shops and restaurants. If you like this sort of thing , it is well done. If you think it’s an overpriced tourist deal, you would also be correct.

I absolutely missed this place and got to enjoy the art scene, food, drinks and recent Christmas decorations. The shops are wonderful and if you get tired the community has mega golf carts driving around. Enjoy the music and party scene, food markets, stores, Rusty Spur. All so much fun.

Old Town Scottsdale consists of several streets of art shops, galleries, eating establishments and Indian/South western-type shops. Although it was actually raining the day we went there, we enjoyed popping in and out of the various shops and galleries and enjoyed a delicious waffle bowl at Jeni's Ice Cream Shop. Lunch at The Herb Box was very good as well.

There are a lot of shops, food choices, and bars. We saw a ton of bachelorette parties and the bars were definitely full of people having a good time. We thought it was a fun area to just people watch and browse the stores. If you aren't looking for touristy shops and a fun place to have a drink then it probably isn't for you. It does have a cool feel to it.

Great evening stroll. Beautiful lights. Most stores were closed. Windows were lovely. Good nightlight. The bicycle bar was funny.

Great shops to visit and perfect for walking and browsing at the art galleries. Lots of restaurants to choose from.

Nice place to visit, good food and family time.
We enjoyed walking around and watching several million dollars condos and houses.

Fun area of shops and restaurants. Sunday morning is quiet without the Farmers Market. Several photo opportunities even it that’s all you are interested in.

Old Town is a nice compact area good for a leisurely stroll and lots of window shopping. There are many shops selling Mexican goods and western stuff. While the items are very nice after a while all the stores began to look alike. The Old Town Tavern is a nice place to stop for a beverage with lots of safe outdoor seating. Los Olivos has great Mexican food.
The only downside was the public bathrooms. They seemed like a great convenience since the stores did not have public facilities. Unfortunately, there was absolutely no toilet paper. Ladies need TP!

Plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, boutique shops, but otherwise nothing to write home about. Parking is plentiful and free in the garages.
We walked for an hour or so and then headed for a Mexican dinner. Some boutiques have really pretty glass vases and statuettes.

This is a great place to go walking and do an occasional shopping or bar stop. The Baseballism is shop has a great assortment of unusual hats and shirts. There were several other small shops worth browsing. Lots of entertainment on various street corners and the Farmer's Market was a nice touch.

I love going to an Old Town on vacation, but it seems that the merchandise in a lot of the shops is touristy junk that no one looks forward to receiving. On the other hand, there are a lot of nice Native American shops with individuality. As in any tourist location, stuff is overpriced, then they offer 20-70% off. Sometimes you see a real bargain, but for the most part, not.

Trendy and classic little place. There is lots to explore in old Town scottsdale. You finds the native jewelry and some amazing Mexican tacos and some spicey magarita. Make sure to visit Cien agave for some fantastic magaritas. The vibe is amazing. Another side of old Town has olive and ivy.

Scottsdale is a good place to wander around and look at the shops. With good food and good beer, and sees candy, which is great.

fun little area of town with a lot of shopping. Lots of jewelry stores and some unique restaurants. Larger than I expected.

This part of Scottsdale is much less "plastic" and "surgically" pretentious than the rest of Scottsdale, plus it has some very nice, non-chain eateries, several galleries, and quality art museums.

Awesome tour, fun way to see the sites John from Montana gave a great tour and restaurant recommendations a must do when you are visiting Scottsdale

The art galleries are nice and this is a good activity if you have a little time to spend walking around. The area does have more souvenir shops now, which are a bit touristy. Restaurants are there, mostly casual dining. If you like art, this is a good place to check out galleries.

Stop putting so much salt in the sauce. It was so salty it was inedible. I ordered from the Oreganos at Orange Grove and Oracle. I ordered online. When I bought the Pizza home everyone in the house complained that it was so salty that it was not edible. I wasted $35.00 on a horrible Pizza. This is the first time I was disappointed in Oreganos. I don't think I will order from them again.

When I hear old, I usually think of a 16th century baroque church, or some Roman Ruins. This was not the case here, as most of these building look to be only about 100 years old. Well that qualifies as old here in Arizona. Lots of interesting shopping, some good watering holes, and some very unusual public art installations. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

It isn't easy to park here and there are many touristy shops with the same merchandise here. We skip this usually and head to Frontier Town in Cave Creek for gifts.

Lots and lots of Western and Native Indian art, but unless you're going for that, or the art museums, the rest of it isn't worth seeing. The rest is just a bunch of mediocre food, touristy bars, and kitschy shops.

Walking around Old Town, bouncing from restaurants to bars ad shops is a blast and must do. Girls night out we went to Patties, The Beverly and The Rusty Spur. Being walkable is great, but the Golf Cart Taxis is what makes it really fun and easy to get around, we do it a few times a year. WARNING: Do not use AA Rides, there are many carts with this company name on them, do not use. This company is new since we have been out on a weekend in Old Town , THEY ARE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF AND AGRESSIVELY RUDE. I was quoted $25 to take us 2 blocks! I was stunned! When i said no way the driver flipped me off and took off, I got 4 more quotes from different drivers from AA rides, they seem to have taken over , they all gave same price. Also they all had a heavy foreign accent and difficult to understand , but still understood really rude. Absolutely insane! $25!! last time we used the same guy all night and texted him for next pick up and was such a sweetheart, he took what we gave him for each ride. I wish I kept his card. We got tired of walking and went to the internet and found Shaun of
GOLF CART TAXI OLD TOWN. 480-645-7583.
He was soo NICE, came right over to get us and gave us a reasonable price wer'e used to. For sure keep this number or look up other cart taxi companies ahead of time, Dont help keep AA in business. Say no to price gouging . Another group told us who used AA didnt know better about the price, and the driver was reckless and one of them almost fell out.!

March 01,2021 stayed at the Hotel and paid the $150.00 deposit with a debit card. More than 3 months later I still have not received a refund for the money. I have called many times and been told the manager will call me back. No call back has been received. The card used does not accept the refund and have requested my money back on a different card. The hotel staff has said it is possible and the manager will call me to do this. No call back from the manager. It is inexcusable to keep someone else’s money for no reason. I need the money and the hotel management refuses to give it back.

Go early & on a weekday and it’s really nice to walk around & free parking! Especially had a great time shopping in “Voila Boutique”. Asmae was so friendly & has an amazing clothing, jewelry & shoe selection. A great place to shop local.

Great place to spend a few hours walking around to enjoy boutique shops, restaurants, bars and souvenirs as well. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the authentic western area as well. Something for everyone here and must do when in Sedona.

Shop till you drop in Olde Town. Fun shopping or upscale arts and crafts souvenirs or fine Native American jewelry and local crafts. Fun restaurants and interesting old west streets all in a small area.

Loved visiting the Galleries here. Got to meet a lot of the artists, such talent and very friendly. A fun day out.

Typical shops hawking crafts and souvenirs. Wide rang in pricing, but mostly on the higher end. One section is all art galleries, which would not necessarily be for everyone, but there are other stores that sell everything under the sun. Other than that, not much else there that I found historic.

Everything was closed. It was 7:30pm. No shops...very underwhelmed. We we so excited to check it out.

Our final afternoon in Arizona. Just cruising around, shopping cheap souvenirs and grabbed a cocktail. Some shops & guest were observing CDC guidelines others were not. We are fully vaccinated but wore our mask and if people were in stores without mask we avoided those stores. Nice place to visit.

Wonder experience. Loved walking all the streets and each little store was lovely. We went to a couple restaurants and they were both over the top delicious and well priced. Must go visit old Scottsdale while in Phoenix.
Unfriendly service and gave misleading information over the telephone prior to booking a room
Horrible treatment, mislead me to telling me things about the hotel that were not there and the front desk clerk namely Frank was one of the rudest women haters I have ever met and mistreated me. Not only will I not be back but I will be disputing the charges. And the hotel itself is a total dump.
