Chuck was great. Good sense of humor and very knowledgeable. The tasting we had was awesome. Love the pineapple pina colada and spearmint. Also had 2 whiskey flavors. All are very good.

We had a amazing experience with Eli and Big Country.. The best hands down!!! Ole Smokey is a place everyone should visit in pigeon forge

Amazing tasting and experience. Masada was an amazing bar tender and Marty was super helpful checking us out. A must do for couples on a date day or just an adventure.

When we walked in, I was hesitant into doing the tasting. But Lexi made the experience AMAZING! We had such a good time doing the tasting. Lexi was very nice and does a great job!

We sampled 8 different shines. We were assisted by Lexi Bug and she was great and funny and kept us entertained as we tried all the great new flavors .

Stopped by for a whisky tasting with friends and had the best experience. Liz was our server and definitely set the mood with great vibes and high energy preparing our palettes for an amazing time. The service and whisky was fire. Would totally recommend and will do it again and will be looking for her on my next visit!

Chase was great and has some really awesome hair! The chocolate peanut butter was my favorite. Looking forward to the next time 😊

Went in this past Sunday with some friends. Big Country was at the bar and we had a great time! Different tastings and lots of laughing. Bought a couple jars of the Moonshine pickles! So good!

Always a good time at Ole Smoky in the Island. Ryan was our bartender. He was informative about all the moonshine and entertaining with stories and jokes. A must stop whenever I’m in town.

Whilst visiting Pigeon Forge for 10 days from the UK we decided we had to do the Moonshine experience at " Old Smokey Tennessee Moonshine " on the Island and it was as good, if not better than expected...

Firstly the staff member who called herself "white chocolate" did our experience for us and was amazing.

She made the whole process fun and entertaining and was a great laugh. We had a number of drinks as we did the premium package and the whole venue is superb.

Unfortunately they do not sell individual small bottles for taking home and the large ones really are too big and heavy to risk for us coming so far with luggage weight allowances to consider and so we didn't get to buy any of the great moonshine whilst there.

5* experience with a 3-4* items to purchase availability. I did buy a T-shirt, however I really wanted some moonshine to bring back also and nothing was light enough to consider for bringing home :-(

Will we do this again?

This was SUCH a fun, impromptu experience! Slim Jim was FABULOUS when assisting my husband and I and we can’t wait to go back!

We did a tasting to decide if we would like any and we had so much fun, this tasting with Marty was our second tasting in two days! Marty was fun and when asked about a different flavor, he was happy to accommodate and made a switch so the party could try it out. He made the tasting a fun and memorable experience. We liked many of the flavors and if ever back in town, will definitely visit again!

We didn't really know what to expect, but Chuck explained everything. Lots of really good information regarding how it's made.

This was my first visit to Ole Smoky Moonshine, and it was nothing short of amazing! We did the tasting with Liz and she was awesome and full of personality. I had an excellent experience and would recommend anyone to do a tasting with her! Then, Marty was my cashier and he was very conversational, helpful, and friendly. We also talked to “Big Country” at checkout. This store is full of great personalities and I would highly recommend them to anyone. 10/10 & will definitely be back!

One of the best distilleries around... bartender Tiffany was absolutely awesome! So much fun! Her mgr Mike came by to make sure they were taking care of everyone...try to get in Tiffany's area if possible!

This such a cool, fun place. They have just about everything you can think of when it comes to moonshine. They have recipes next to a lot of the flavors that tell you what to mix for a sensational drink. There is clothing and souvenirs to choose from. They also have some flavored whiskey. The real fun begins when you sidle up to the bar for the tasting. Regular tasting is $5 and premium is $8. We did the premium and it was great. The bartenders are an absolute hoot! They tell you about the flavor and have a little comedic story to go along with it. Even if you don’t drink, I recommend going to see everything and listen to the bartenders.

We had the best experience with Chicago at ole smoky. He really helped with getting our wedding moonshine engraved something we will always remember!!

We stopped at Ole Smoky while walking our way through Pigeon Forge. The free tasting seemed intriguing but was a bit surprised when 'free' was buy then get a coupon for a purchase discount. We purchased a round and Lee-Bran did a great job of explaining each tasting and giving the history behind the distillery and the different shines. It was an entertaining stop on our day of walkabout adventure

Chuck was the best bartender. He was fun, interacting, and funny had a great sense of humor. “ What goes in the cup must go in the gut” Very informative. At the end of his tasting you will not have any questions because he covers it all, without boring you to death. Really enjoyed my tasting experience with Chuck.

Zak was a great bartender. Quick in his feet with a joke or witty comeback. He's been one of the best we have had during our trip.

In a usually pricey trip this place was a heaven. The samples totally worth the price. We did 12 moonshine samples for 8.00 and was super fun. Marty was super kind, funny and professional. Great experience…!! Totally recommended.

We were here on a very busy day so I think they did the tasting very fast. You could barely drink the moonshine taste before they were giving you another one. It was a bit fast and I could barely hear what I was drinking. It’s $8 for the tasting but you get a $5 coupon to use on a purchase. We left with 3 bottles of moonshine. It’s not cheap but fun flavors- apple pie, blackberry, margarita. I also liked the banana pudding and peanut butter but they had dairy in them and my husband is allergic. They were out of watermelon. We would have bought that one. Flavors for everyone!

Marty was our bartender and when he says Marty brings the party you gotta believe it A+ plus from us! When you go definitely ask for Marty.

Are you kidding 10.00 per person to sample your product. Years ago they gave samples. Then charged 5.00. Now 10.00. There are many other options to go to that don't rape their customers. Ole Smokey has the weakest liquors in TN. Never going back.

Such a great place to try the different flavors of moonshine and and have a god laugh. Liz was great and funny while serving us. My favorite saying of hers was "if you can't handle this flavor I'll take your hand and walk you over to build a bear because that's where you belong!!" Altogether a great experience!!! Also the Zinc Trio that played live music outside are fantastic also!!

We grabbed the Blackberry Moonshine because it was on sale. We should have tasted before purchasing. They do charge for tasting. We assumed it would be good since other shine we have tried there was always good. It tastes like cough medicine. Live and learn.

This was a great spot to take a break from the kids. Started with some masters with Marty who was very entertaining and friendly. Then proceeded to purchase some moonshine. This place has great deals! Taylor and Big Countey had amazing service and due to this, I admittedly bought more moonshine than I thought I would and am very happy with the free add on cooler and shots!.

Located in the Island at Pigeon Forge, parking is free you can walk over from the parking lot or take the tram. There are several specials depending on how much you plan on buying. They have tastings for a small fee, you just walk up to the counter, show your ID and pick your package.

Great deals on moonshine make our way there twice a year at least! Staff is super sweet and quick especially our AWESOME cashier Elora! Super fast EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT PERSONALITY!!!!

We came closer to closing time and Gavin was great. We had the best experience. Also, Bo the manager was amazing as well. Definitely recommend this location.

For adults, this is a MUST and one of the best things on the island! It’s easy to “belly-up” to the tasting counter and enjoy the fun. The bartenders, especially Slim Jim, are hilarious and make tasting 12 of the yummiest whiskeys you’ve ever tasted, so much fun! My daughter and I wanted to do it again. Well worth the small fee for tasting and you’ll be happy to tip after you laugh and enjoy the yummy whiskey. Highly recommend!!!

Great tasting with J.T. Excellent moonshine and whiskey options, great set up, J.T kept everyone entertained and even sold us a $60 bottle of Popcorn Sutton, which is excellent!

We had originally planned on going into the shop, grabbing a couple jars of liquid happiness and heading out… BUT…. decided to try one of their “tasting” sessions…. BEST decision of the day!! Our flavor guide was Marty and he was AMAZING!!! He was extremely personable and his knowledge of the magical goodness they sell was impressive!! The product there is great… but Party Marty made the experience one we will never forget!!!

Not a typical distillery. Most of the moonshine is too sweet or unpleasant. Save your money and go to one of the local wineries or a brewery. If you want whiskey, go to a reputable distillery in Tennessee, or Kentucky, if you want Bourbon.

Liz was great and funny! Nine tries for only $5 and she gave us a whiskey/bourbon and the pickle! Banana pudding was surprisingly delicious.

We had a terrible experience at at this location. We've been to tastings at other shine places in the area. Liz stopped the tasting halfway through to "encourage" people to write a review including her name and she would give them an extra shot. She had to go through people's phones and help them write reviews. When another patron left. She said don't leave we have 3 more shots to do. After waiting another 5 minutes we eventually left. I wasn't impressed with the flavors but that's not the servers fault. I don't know if this is protocol by the company to gain reviews or something by the server but it turned us off and we gave our $5 coupons to some other people in the island hoping they had a better experience but we chose to buy shine at another establishment based on our experience today.

I give this place 2 stars and this is why. I have bought there product before but no more, they market it very well, they have several flavors to choose from, they package it good, and the people are nice, but in the end that's all good but if the taste isn't there than it's no good to me I have tried several other competitors in the area and I have to say they are awesome compared to Smoky moonshine, now to me it's about the taste, the flavor, and the after taste and how smooth it is now I know moonshine can burn depends how much it's been watered down. So in conclusion I want go here for the alcohol but I will buy the cherries and the pickles but all the other will come from other places. Sorry but this is my honest opinion. I just think they get way to much hype. Go try Smith creek, Old Mill forge, or Tennessee shine you just may be wishing you did along time ago.

Big Country and Slim Jim were amazing! They were very kind and did their jobs well. The bar tender that did the drink samples was wonderful as well! The only complaint I had was that we wanted to get a bottle engraved and we waited a while and no one was at the desk. We went and grabbed some food and then came back and still no one was there. We had to get back home and had a couple hour drive ahead of us. So we requested a refund from the manager and they gave it. I appreciate that they resolved the issue quickly!

We did the taste testing with family and friends. It was a great experience. Loved the cream flavors like Banana and Strawberry, the sour watermelon was one of my favorites. Bought a jar of the Orange Shinesicle to take home. Elora S. at the checkout counter was so sweet and so helpful. Kudos to her and all the staff at that location. I will definitely be back to visit again next time I’m in Tennessee. :)

Each sample was unique, and we were pleasantly surprised by the variety of flavors available – everything from traditional clear moonshine to creative infusions like apple pie and blueberry.

The tastings were generous, and it was fun to see how each sip had a distinctive kick yet stayed smooth. It was a perfect way to spend an afternoon, try something new, and pick up a few bottles to take home. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend stopping in for a tasting – it’s a must-do experience!

My husband and I stopped by on the way back home to complete our three location passport and grab the free shirt. On a whim, we did a tasting, and ended up having the best time. Debo was a fantastic bartender!

After supporting ole smoky for years, I have decided I no longer will be. My family visits Gatlinburg and pigeon forge several times a year, and we always make a point to stop and sample. Our visit this time was horrible. Our bartender was incredibly rude. When I asked him a question about one of the flavors, he told me maybe if I would have shut up I would have heard him. It was loud in the store, and I have hearing aids. Then as I was shopping, I noticed half the flavors I wanted to purchase were not in stock. When I went to the register ready to check out, the cashier told me about the deal where you buy so many and get a free jar. I told her no, and she asked me if I was too poor for the deal. I went to the other register and asked to speak with a manager. The manager told me it was hell week and he couldn’t help me. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

I'm glad to see that things have changed since my last visit! Gone are the fruit in the cups and we are back to just good ole normal moonshine samples. I have to commend Bo's hard work as an assistant manager to make sure that everything is running smoothly and every guest leaves happy. He is kind and friendly to all people who walk through his doors and makes an excellent assistant manager. Ole Smokey is lucky to have such a top notch guy such as Bo.

My wife and I wanted to walk off our Thanksgiving dinner. We went to The Island in Pigeon Forge, TN. and low and behold there was an Ole Smoky Distillery. We went in and were overcome by the number of different flavored moonshines. We tasted several. The gentleman at the counter by the name of Slim Jim made several great recommendations which we bought about a half dozen. We went back to our Vrbo and put a shine on the remainder of our evening. Slim Jim made some great recommendations!!!

We LOVE Moonshine and I wanted to introduce it to my newly 21 year old nephews :) Caylee was a FANTASTIC host at our tasting and we can't wait to take all the flavors home! 🍹 Cassie checked us out later that night when we came back (so we weren't lugging heavy bottles around all day 😂). She had one of the BEST personalities of any customer service person I've ever met. (And I've been in customer service for 30 years, myself.) I wish everyone had her attitude and cheeky humor. Another great visit to Ole Smoky Tennessee Moonshine at the Island. Staff are always very friendly and knowledgeable, selection is amazing, with many different flavors of both whiskey and moonshine. You can try many of the offerings they have for free (2 per person, age appropriate) and for $5 you can try up to 9 different items. Went on 6/3/25 and came home with a bottle of Salty Carmel whiskey and a gift box of 12 mini flavored moonshine jars. So even if you don’t like whiskey or moonshine, stop in and take a look around, they have something for everyone (t-shirts, novelty items, and of course alcohol).
