I stay here at least 2 times a year. Ormond beach is still so secluded and beautiful . Lots of sea turtle nests dot the beach, so they like it too.

Ormand Beach is a fantastic Beach, with amble places to eat, shop and park . Not terribly crowded or I wouldn't know about the weekend because I realize people not working come to let the kids play and thats a great thing.

Didn't expect to fall in love with this town but I did! Nice people, beautiful beach, very walkable!

Unfortunately, tropical storm in the Atlantic and a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico has made this trip very windy. The water probably wouldn’t be bad if the wind wasn’t so bad. We love how quiet Ormond is and the fact that you can walk to many restaurants.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a resort located on the beach for a few days listening to and watching the Atlantic. The beach is clean and perfect for strolls . A few local surfers and more hardy souls did go in the water but the air was a bit too chilly for us to do so. The ocean temp was warm enough. Vehicles are allowed on the beach. We visited during the week and saw perhaps four cars total drive by. The town itself offered enough restaurants and we shopped in stores that were open and found some unique items. We also visited Rockefeller’s winter home, The Casements. It was decorated for Christmas so it lent a holiday feel to our visit. This was our first visit to the area.

In Ormond you can enjoy the beach without a huge crowd with smokers, bums, potheads, and screaming college students. The beach is much cleaner, the visitors are friendly and mostly local. There is NO driving on this beach.

Ormond Beach is a little more laid back than Daytona. We’ve stayed in both areas and enjoy both, but prefer Ormond for its more residential vibe. There are plenty of shops and restaurants, but it feels less commercial.

Wonderful Beach. Lots of fun! Free public access. Nice sand. Restaurants, bars and shopping close. Lots to do.

Found on Granada blvd . We arrived on Jan. 22 , settled in and needed to eat . Lulu was close and was highly rated on TripAdvisor and had outdoor seating ( a must for us with Covid still dangerous) . Our waiter was Kyle , GREAT , very attentive and friendly. They all were very attentive to cleaning after each table vacated. I got the PEI mussels and was not disappointed, in fact it was the best I’ve had in years. My husband Fried haddock , two pieces and thick . He also had the bread pudding for dessert which I usually don’t care for but WOW , it was yummy. I highly recommend this restaurant to Eve ☺️

Nice area for vacation, beach hotels, wide beach you can drive on. Nice sandy beach well maintained with lifeguards but a bit steep on the beach car pass - $20 a day

What a beautiful and peaceful beach!
Just watching the waves roll in!
Clean, several places to park.

All the Beaches are great. There are many excellent restaurants, theaters, bowling allies, golf courses. It is close to Daytona beach for the auto race enthusiasts. There are a number of gated communities where you can purchase a manufactured 2 or 3 bed room home for a reasonable price. A terrific place for snowbirds to get away from the cold and snow of the winter.

Ormond Beach was great. Not crowded. Public beach kept clean. Ocean was beautiful and clear. Beautiful.

We have been going for many years but this time the beach was very rough at the top by the hotels/condo's etc.Always used to be beautiful flat sand but this was difficult to walk through to get down to ocean and cars kept getting stuck it was so deep now!

Friends and I stayed in Ormond Beach for a week. The beach was clean and quiet and a wonderful place to walk. The birds are very interesting to watch and the views are beautiful. Ormond Beach is close to many interesting places to visit by car aslo.

Ormond Beach is absolutely beautiful. It is less crowded than Daytona Beach. A little more laid back. Not as busy. It is perfect for couples and for families. The water is great! If you are looking for a little less hussle and bussle, Ormond Breach is the perfect place for you and yours.

Lovely area- we walked the beach every day. The beach is fairly quiet too.
There are no restaurants or tiki huts directly on the beach but there are several option close by.

There is plenty of activity in this area and the beach is not very crowded this time of year April, but there are no shells or anything on this barren beach if you like beach combing as we do. There were lots of jellyfish on the beach.

I love this beach because of ease of access, not too crowded, lots of great waves whether it's high or low tide. It is NOT the loud, noisy, crazy crowd as in Daytona Beach, much more chill.

The beach is always so clean and peacefully , Plenty of places to eat off the beach, and you can park your car on the beach for the day if you like.

The beach is very clean and very beautiful. The water was nice and warm. We had a lot of wind during our visit.

It was September and so the crowds were down, I guess, but we loved how secluded and private the beach felt!! It was our first trip to Ormond Beach but we already want to return!

I took my niece and her gf here for Christmas. I've been to quite a few beaches in there last several years, but this by far is one of the prettiest sand I've seen. The red tines against the blue skies make gorgeous pictures for memory books. The beach was enjoyable this time of year with the water a bit cold but bearable once you took that first dive..lol. there is a vehicle lane, and plenty of rental options jet ski, bicycle, beach chairs. Very nice beach!!

Nice beach, but watch for cars! Yes, cars are allowed on Ormond beach thru the Daytona beach area. The sand has a reddish tint to it (the gulf side of FL is generally white) and not as many shells as I am used to. But still, walking the beach is great!!

Ormond Beach is just north of Daytona Beach. It is not as busy with traffic. A drive up route A1A has nice ocean views and places with beach access. There are multiple seaside restaurants and bars available and some small parks. The beach is not terribly wide, but is clean and pleasant. The sand is comfortable and not rocky or full of shells. It was not crowded at all, at least this time of year. The city has a good selection of stores and shops. Just north of Ormond Beach is Flagler Beach which is also worth checking out.

A bit too soft to bicycle on except when the tide is low, unlike the southern part of the beach, but a nice big area without cars.

Beach was very quiet, was a slow time of year. very clean. if you had a 4x4 you could drive on the beach. i would not recommend driving on the beach if you do not, many cars without got stuck ,

This section of the beach north of Daytona beach was a nice weekend getaway. No crowds. Enjoyed walking the beach morning and night. Surf was up so riptides were bad. No pier in this area. Mainly condos so nowhere to dine on the beachfront.

Ormond Beach is a beautiful beach! We always enjoy spending time here when vacationing in Daytona Beach. Three years in a row and we always discover something new.

Ormond Beach located in the state of Florida is a modern well maintained city that has something for everyone. It's pristine beaches along with hotel rooms are well kept and staffed with caring personnel who will make your visit a treasured memory. The city of Ormond Beach has great restaurants and shopping along with historical areas that you will want to visit.

We had a great time at Ormond Beach. It’s just a short drive from Daytona. Less crowded and more peaceful. Overall I still prefer the gulf side of Florida with the white sand and calmer waters, but Ormond was nice as well.

In December we had a two week vacation with our children and grandchildren at this beautiful beach.
The beach was very clean, and the activity on the beach was always entertaining.
We will definitely return to Ormand Beach!

Overall, great time on the beach. Outstanding weather and great waves! Had a vendor on the beach who provided good deal on umbrellas and lounge chairs - no miss, no fuss! Only problems were people driving non-4 wheel drive vehicles on the beach and getting stuck. If I wanted to hear traffic I could have stayed in Atlanta. Gate attendants should not allow them on the beaches.

It is the best place to go and you don't get the crowds from Daytona Beach. It is far enough away from the chaos of Daytona Beach and you don't get the heavy traffic.

We had the best times staying on the beach. It was so peaceful and quiet on the beach, not over crowded.

My wife and I discovered a gem just north of Daytona called Ormond Beach. It is on the Atlantic and its beaches are beautiful packed sand that go for miles and miles. The town itself is picturesque with plenty of restaurants and small boutiques eagerly awaiting your exploration. Many resorts and hotels but not congested like Daytona Beach.

I'm a local and I enjoy our beaches in Ormond. It is free of litter and the ocean is always great. It is also accessible to many local area restaurants that any traveler will enjoy.

There’s nothing I dislike about this beach. I live very close, so it’s convenient to get to for me. There is no driving allowed a certain distance north of Granada Blvd. so it’s peaceful and safe. Great for jogging or walking, seeing seagulls and sandpipers in the surf, pelicans and ospreys in the air, and Atlantic blue crabs on the sand. The county keeps it clean and secure, and it feels like a hidden gem the farther north you go toward North Peninsula State Park. Finding parking during busy times like summer weekends is your only challenge. But if you can get there during a weekday it’ll feel like you own the place. Highly recommended, especially around sunrise (see photos).
Hope this was helpful. Thanks for reading!

When you visit Ormond Beach, it is like you have lived there your entire life!! No strangers, just friendly people, smiling faces and impeccable treatment!

I have been to this beach every time of year and as a NYer I love it here in the winter. It’s cheaper and more pleasant for me to go to Ormond beach than a winter weekend in the Hamptons! The weather is way more pleasant.
If you want action...just go south 8 minutes for “jersey shore” action at Daytona Beach Central.
Great shopping, food, and activities can be had with less traffic and noise. Several high rise condo’s if you want that as well as great hotels in the area...the hard sand and wide open space is amazing, even during busy season.

My best part of the whole experience with the beaches was actually finally moving to Ormond Beach!! Yes, the beaches are beautiful - especially those where people are not allowed to drive on the beach. No dogs, no booze allowed - there's a beach in Flagler that's for dogs though.

We come to Ormond Beach everytime we are in the area. It is usually not too crowded and has good sand. There are also some good restaurants in the area. We drive over from Ocala to get some Atlantic Beach time!

The beach is beautiful and serene. During our Spring Break stay my husband admitted that he was very worried that we were too close to the crazy of Daytona and that it would be full of partiers and that he wouldn't like it. But he had to admit that the quiet and calm of the area combined with the sounds of the ocean and the beauty of the water and the sands made for a very relaxing trip.
This is certainly a place to visit if you are looking for a calm, relaxing ocean-side vacation.

It is a long beach which runs into Daytona Beach. There were some cars, but all was safe. Our hotel looked out onto the beach which was very pleasant and peaceful. There were not many adjacent activities which is why we went: peaceful nature at its best.

We love ORMOND Beach in the winter when it’s cold and snowy back home. We drove through rain, sleet abs snow to get here (literally) and it was worth it.

We sat on the beach and it was so nice we had a good time we also was on a family visit. hopefully we can go back sooner

This is where we go to relax because it’s less congested and cleaner than Daytona. Great restaurants and less traffic on the beach if you bring kids.

Ormond Beach is a lovely quiet beach town located about 5 miles north of Daytona Beach. i used to travel to Florida when my children were young and also when they became teenagers and young adults. Ormond is geat for people of all ages. I found it to be a safe place to travel with family and friends and also solo. There are good hotels and restaurants on and off the beach and other nearby towns offer more activity nd night life if desired. I would definitely advise a trip of several days rather tan just a few hours. If you are staying in a nearby town, however, plan tp spend a day at least in Ormond Beach. There are nice shops in the area also.

This is the craziest vacation I have ever had I come to the beach I get a room I paid $20 to drive down the beach I'm in a truck they asked me if I have 4x4 I drive down the beach 2 seconds and get stuck in the sand they have us driving in the soft sand and all the people are laying where it's hard at where the cars usually drive at so I called tow truck the tow truck comes out there $150 he comes out there he gets stuck in the sand too needless to say it cost me $20 to get on the beach and $150 to get off of it meanwhile I'm stuck in the sand for 4 hours I had a hotel room that I paid $500 for the whole time but I can't leave my truck and just go enjoy my room now can I

when we used to come down for bike week we'd always stay in Ormond. It was far enough away from all the craziness in Daytona and had that real small town beachside atmosphere. It still does. Neighbors or neighbors. It's a beautiful little community was fantastic beaches and restaurants

Just north of Daytona Beach. Much more laid back beach area. Lots of amenities along the road. The town is very nice as well.

We had a resort on the beach. It was so peaceful and everything was so clean. The people were friendly. It wasn't very crowded anywhere that we went. Love it during the off season.

Be careful at Casa Del Mar. They’re not enforcing masks on property, and when we asked other members to put them on in the elevator, they became venomous and accused us of “political leanings” and refused to use a mask because they didn’t “believe” a virus exists. This is even with signs posted about families not mixing on elevators. I walked up 5 flights, and my husband waited 36 minutes to get an elevator 7:30 pm. We’re cancelling our review here. We notified management and they were indifferent.

First time in Ormond Beach,Fl
Met up with family from Beaufort,SC
3/1/2 hours from Coral Springs
Nice seaside location.
Best probably in warmer weather.
Went to the Casements, walked on the beach

Lovely, clean beach would be a great place to spend the day. No shells to collect and the surf comes right up to the hotel walls. Depending on the time of day there is either plenty of beach or none. The city works hard to keep it clean and lovely.

Such a super nice stretch of beach. Water was warm even in mid October. Felt like to whole experience soothed my soul.

Ormond Beach is a beautiful sleepy beach town. Friendly people all around and great restaurants. The actual beach is clean and well preserved. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice clean beach, always loved Ormond. It is a beautiful area and has a lot to offer. Many amazing restaurants and things to do. The beach is usually very clean and calm in Ormond.

Even in winter, the Atlantic shores are inviting. The sunshine calls visitors to walk the beaches, and sit on resort balconies listening to the waves. A clean, soft sand beach, with a gentle slope entry.

We stayed here for a week. Beautiful clean beach. Close to Daytona Beach but we’ll cared for. Pinched Inlet lighthouse close to visit well worth the time.

I repeat...Best beach on upper A1A!!! We stayed in a beachside motel here and were THRILLED with this clean and uncrowded beach. There were beach chair, umbrella and other rentals available. The sand was unique with the coquina-look of dark vs. light sand make-up. There were short jetties along the beachline that gave it some charcter.

This is a great beach. Can work in both direction and love all of it. Can walk to some shopping. Very little crowds and clean. Love it and will go back.

Loved going out in the morning to watch the Sunrise and going out on the beach to watch the sunset. Loved walking along the beach. Beautiful!

Just minutes from Daytona yet so much better as far as having your own spot. Excellent beach with easy access and plenty of easy to find parking...

This beach is beautiful. We loved it so much we started looking at buying a small home here by the time we left. Everybody we can across was friendly, we never felt so safe vacationing ANYWHERE, wildlife everywhere. Clean beaches and lots to do!

Ormond Beach is a wonderful vacation destination for anyone looking for that "old Florida" feel. Beaches are wonderful and have a great look as there is no sea wall as down S in Daytona. Highly recommend this beach as you can relax and spread out as there is plenty of room.

Beautiful beach...very clean.
Great selection of restaurants, lots of retail shopping, a Publix on every other corner if you are cooking in.

We love this beach in October, quiet. Nice water. Clean beach. You can drive on tge beach. No one acted crazy. Few children during week, they are in school. Some surfing.

You cannot beat Ormond Beach or Daytona Beach. The best and cleanest beaches anywhere. Everything is affordable, great places to recreates, eat and have fun.

It's a very nice place and clean I most definitely will be going back the weather is great the people are nice everything is accessible nothing but great things from me highly recommended great places for a family

Great beach to walk along and look for turtles ( May to October) or find an umbrella and just rest a while and soak up the ocean breezes

Ormond beach is great. Nice little area. I love the beach here, because it isn't really as crowded as others, but still a lovely area. Perfect to just relax and take in the ocean. I would recommend coming here, right next door to Daytona Beach.

This was our first trip here and it doesn’t disappoint. The beach is relaxing and beautiful. Small town feel right along the beach with lots to do close by. Food choices are excellent and affordable. Planning another trip for next year!!

I really enjoyed walking at the beach, very spacious and the sand is hard so walking was pleasant. Beautiful beach.

Nothing better then going to a beach that is clean and the view was great. Love this area and will return.

Ormond Beach has lots to do, almost every type of food restaurant you can think of and a pretty beach.

Not Spring Break party central. You could walk the beach and get in the water without danger of sand filling your suit. Family and couples friendly. Watch the Emery-Riddle planes circle in their training. See the bivalves re-bury themselves. View amazing homes on this coral pink sand beach.

Certainly enjoyed our visit here to Ormond Beach. Spent time frogging in the ocean too bad there was an offshore hurricane that was causing some really strong undertows and some riptides. Really need to be careful out there. But the beach is clean, trash trash trucks company twice a day pickup empty the trash bins. The lifeguards are very intelligent. I am on the great things that you're driving the beach Park your car enjoy the ocean tailgate. Also the County sheriff Stu patrol so it's very safe

Not crowded at all in the winter time. No driving allowed on the beach. Just steps from the beach is a little memorial to the early race car drivers (NHRA started in Ormond Beach) who set land speed records in the early 1900s on this beach. R.E. Olds, founder of the Olds Motor Company, was one of those who sped his vehicle on the sands of Ormond Beach, giving the city its nickname "The Birthplace of Speed."

great walking beach, even on the driving part! disappointed in the lack of shells, but the beach itself was clean and pretty

We came upon Ormond last Summer and it is now our go to destination. Even in the summer the beach is not crazy busy. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The sand is incredible to lay on and to walk. It is so much quieter and nicer than north and south of Ormond.

Our hotel was on the beach so we enjoyed seeing the sunrise and going for multiple walks. See the dolphins at certain times of day. Best beach we have been on on the Atlantic side of FL.

The beach was sunny and pleasant the sand was clean no red tide no smell no drive area parking was a challenge the bathrooms were clean and the playground great for the kids

The beach during the week was not crowded at all and since you can drive right onto the beach ( 4 wheel drive vehicles) you have a birds eye view , can park and walk or swim. There are parks along the beach too that have free parking, tables with sun cover, bathrooms and even outdoor rinse off showers to get the sand and salt water off of you. Can get busy on weekends or holidays but is a wonderful break to visit.

We enjoy a small park at Ormand Beach called Eli Weeks park. Usually it is very quite with only a few people. Sometimes in the late afternoon a few surffers will be there.
This park also has restrooms and showers.

Hard packed sand, relatively flat bottom, uniform surface make this a good place to walk out and ride the waves, or simply walk the beach. Not many interesting shells, and very little difference in the beach at high tide and low tide. Good place for sunrise walks.

Stayed here Friday to Friday. Great accommodations and lots of on-site activities. Only complaint was the street nose on Friday and Saturday nights. Sounded like the Daytona 500 was in front of our hotel. Sunday thru Thursday nights were quiet and relaxing.

The beach is basically Daytona Beach. Very short walk, (for me), to the pier, hardrock, etc. easy drive on.

This beach is down the road from Daytona beach and much more relaxed and peaceful with minimal to no cars. Clean, quiet, not crowded. there is also some free parking along the street if you get there early enough.

We travel to this beach from our home (approximately 2 hours away) nearly every other weekend during the summer season. It is always beautiful. Great gentle slope into the water, plenty of room for beach driving/parking/playing, has been a great environment both going as a couple as well as with the kids. This season (Summer 2019) has been more enjoyable as the sand has been loser requiring 4x4 vehicles, which typically means less beach-traffic.

Ormond Beach is just north of the crowded Daytona Beach area. There are some hotels on the beach but as you go further north on the beach it is surrounded by condos and homes. This is a car free beach with lifeguards and entrances with facilities. In many portions of the beach there are lifeguards present. If you are in the Daytona Beach area and want to spend some time on a quieter more laid back beach this is a good place to go.

Love this beach. Wish they had more showers or public bathrooms otherwise one of my faves. Beautiful views. Great people around. Free parking!

Ormond beach is a little more laid back than Daytona bch.in that its still long and wide but with less tourist. Not necessarily a good place to surf but a great place to lounge and relax on the beach

Loved it!!!
We liked it better than cocoa beach.
The sand seems like we can walk easier.
Plus you can drive and park on the beach(the fees apply)

This is the beach to go to we come here to get away from the Daytona crown and noise it’s always peaceful and quiet

Just to the north of Daytona Is Ormond Beach. I have been coming here since the late 60's. Still a bit quieter and more relaxed. Family friendly and the same beach as its brother.

The beach is clean and quiet and tranquil! Just what we needed!!! I can't wait to be back again next year!

Our visit had temperatures rising into mid eighties in early June and ocean temperatures were still a little cool. Kids had no issues braving the mild waves and temperatures, and water refreshing after first dip. Even at low tide, there was a sandbar with just 2 ft of water above, just offshore versus steep drop-off. 4X4 driving on beach still allowed from Daytona to Ormond beach, however beach was plenty of room away from slow driving patch for vehicles
. Crowds were extremely small for such a nice beach; just a few other small families. Crowds larger at Daytona beach, with pier approximately 4.5 miles South. Would recommend stays in Ormond beach for the peace and quiet, and if have kids can venture out to nearby Daytona beach for movies, small carnival at pier, etc. Interesting to visit Rockefeller Sr.'s old Fl homestead on the Halifax.
Ate all dinners in either North Daytona or Ormond Beach proper.
Travel to beach was simple; Interstate the entire way, with a short East 4 lane city roads to the beach.

Not a fan of this beach or really any of the northeast Florida beaches. Plus it really sucks when they say 4 wheel drive park on beach and you still get stuck. Water is cold and gross and the lady in the booth sucks. I’d rather drive farther southwest. Lesson learned.

I’ve been all over Florida—and much of it’s beautiful. Ormond Beach is near the top of my list of Florida destinations because of its old Florida vibe and it’s beautiful pink beaches (because of the coquina shells). It’s like walking back into the 1950s. There’s the typical beachside weirdos that you’ll come across in most Florida beachside towns and there’s a bit of the Daytona influence, but everyone seems to be happy and friendly in Ormond Beach. There’s a long stretch of beach that makes for a scenic drive in what’s called Ormond-by-the-Sea (which doesn’t have condos all built up on the beach). My fear is that more people will discover Ormond Beach over time and destroy its kitschy vibe.

Quiet , less traffic and more of an older mature crowd . Clean beaches with many fine restaurants and shopping near by

We caught it lucky on our 1st few days of our vacation and it was in the 80's.
Clean beach, not as large of an area as Daytona but very nice nonetheless.
A few fishing, a few riding kayaks but a beautiful clean beach, wonderful clean water, (cold as expected), really nice.
The folks fishing somehow managed to catch a small sea turtle and a ray, they were able to free them from their hooks and put them back into the ocean.

Very nice beach, very close to Daytona, yet a little less crowded. Plenty of activities and dinning choices within walking distance. The beach is clean and wide. Lifeguards are on location and seemed like most beach goers were practicing social distancing. There is a great little restaurant on Ormond beach called the Beach Bucket, great for lunch or breakfast, good prices and outside or inside seating right on the beach.

I moved from new york to ormond beach fl and its a beautiful nice place wiith close by convenients and a clean environment i give rhis place 10 stars !!

We really enjoyed our vacation! This was our first trip to Ormond Beach and we had a great time! We stayed at The Outrigger Beach Club and it was great! Denise and Brad were awesome!

Very beautiful and clean beach. Life guards are on duty. Clean restrooms available. There is even a small play area for the kids. A perfect place to picnic.

This beach is short. If you can't walk far in sand this us your place. It is calm, people friendly and peaceful. I will be back.

The beach water was not crystal clear but was warm and very pretty. The sand was soft and the waves were not too rough for kids.

Ormond Beach in my opinion is more upscale than Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach is for the younger excitement seeking crowd, where as Ormond Beach is more laid back with a smaller business district that doesn't have all boardwalk excitement. What Ormond Beach does offer you is a quiet place to lay your head down without all the noise and excitement. It is still within a short drive, which to me is ideal. I have four young kids who like to visit Daytona Beach for all the excitement. Even though I feel Daytona Beach is for the most part safe I would not leave my kids alone there. There are just too many people from all walks of life there. Ormond Beach on the other hand can get busy, but doesn't require all the traffic control and you can safely cross the street. Both places are considered a family destination I just personally prefer to stay in Ormond Beach.

Peaceful and clean beach just south of Jacksonville and oh such a beauty without the hustle and bustle of Jax.

We stayed at the Royal Floridian and the beach was beautiful, clean, and not crowded. It has beautiful waves and large sandy areas to enjoy with the kids.

We have been three times now and enjoy the smaller town feel. Fabulous restaurants, a quilt shop, and very friendly locals. I love just watching the large ocean waves.

Wide Beach that you can walk in either direction for several miles. Very safe. Head north to see some nice homes along the ocean and less congestion. South is more crowded and more high rises.

Many families participate in rock painting and hiding at the local parks. The beach is wonderful.Great place to visit.

I love that you can drive right up to the water and park your car right there. The water was warm and nice.

I am lucky to have an aunt that lives here or I may have never discovered this area. I love the long, open beaches here. You get a mix of the white sand & the coral orange sand. Lots of birds flying along the waves or Sandpipers running around. It's peaceful, relaxing & quiet. It's always windy so wear sunscreen to protect yourself from wind & sun. There are no dogs allowed on the beach to protect the nesting turtles. The beaches are so clean!

This was our first visit to Ormond Beach, we spent three weeks at three separate resorts and were pleased with each. The beach is great, people are friendly, restaurants are plentiful. There is lots to do besides the beach with several state parks nearby and Daytona is just to the south.

Parked on Granada ave access and it is free! Clean restrooms beautiful beach. Highly recommend. Not as busy as Daytona or new Smyrna.

The ocean is always gorgeous! I love to see the water and am grateful to live in the area. It is beautiful and great seafood.

This beach is so clean and quiet. No big crowds to cramp your beach day. Nice clean restrooms and showers are available as well.

Assume this review is for the beach itself. What can I say. It hasn’t changed since I was here a few decades ago. But that’s a good thing. Not really crowded for middle of summer. Great if you are looking for no crowds. Very short drive to Daytona Beach. Love it here.

We stayed at this beach recently and loved it very quite beach. Also very clean. Glad that we stayed here and not down the street on Daytona beach.

the beach is clean ..wonderful blue water. good place for family fun. We got married here years ago...and its still a perfect place to visit. The hurricanes havent changed the beauty

The weather has held up for the last two days and the beach is been beautiful. The ocean is amazing warm with some waves spend some time in the sun

We love to go to the beach accesses along DB and OB. They have nice areas with bathrooms, shower areas, some have splash pads and play grounds for the kids. We really love the Andy Romano park for their area! Very nice and clean!

I am here for 7 days and I wish I could move here tomorrow . I found many things to do. But just relaxing at the pool and watching people fish was the best.

Ormond Beach is a beautiful beach front community. The area is a bit built up and caters to tourism but still laid back. Will return.

Pretty beach for a long walk. Nice and hard packed near the water. A beautiful white/red sand blend. No vehicle traffic. Friendly people to chat with.
Definitely recommend over the noisy and touristy Daytona area.

We stumbled across Ormond Beach in 2017 simply looking for a place to stay on our way to Orlando on the beach that was inexpensive. We found a hotel right on the beach that was extremely affordable and fell in love with the community very quickly. Our family enjoy the laid back beach community outside the hustle and bustle of Daytona tourism. You can be a vacationer but feel like a local there. Beach is clean, and people are friendly.

I am so glad I live in Ormond-by-the-Sea. The beach here is so beautiful and serene. It is quiet and clean and a pleasure to walk along in the mornings or evenings. Every guest that has stayed at the house walks over for a swim and stroll and are in awe!!!

The prices are much cheaper and it's just down the road. Same beach view! There was still some damage from the hurricanes but most things were accessible. Had a great time!

The views were amazing. There was lots to do in the area. Great restaurants close by. Publix, gas stations, and Daytona Beach all within a short drive.

We stopped by the actual beach to walk it and admire the ocean. It was very photogenic on a brisk & windy day! The beach is very wide and we noticed a beach buggy vehicle driving on it but very few people walking. I found a few shells, noticed deceased jelly fish, and got a lot of great pictures! The weather was too windy for staying very long there but the wind created gorgeous waves!

I Love Ormond Beach ! We come down every Jan/Feb for the dirt track winternationals and stay in Ormond, it’s so close to Daytona, you get all the amenities of Daytona with a beach that isn’t packed with people but yet you can see Daytona from Ormond !

We loved our stay at Ormond by the Sea. We saw dolphins daily in the morning! The beach was clean and quiet!

Ormond is much more quiet then DaB. Not as much going on, but close enough if you want to be in the mix, and all the excitement. I went to get out of the winter up north, and attend some speedweek activities.

I have visited Ormond Beach many times over the past 35 years and it is one of the prettiest, plus it has lots of easy access.

I usually stay on the gulf side of Florida but visited friends on the Atlantic side. This was the first time I had been to Ormond Beach and it was beautiful! Nice white sand and not over populated. I would recommend this beach if you are in the area.

We were on our way home from the Cape Canaveral and I always go to the Cracked Egg Diner. After breakfast my wife wanted to check out the beach early and to see how warm it was. Can’t wait to be back in October because this is our favorite place

We were camping in Ormond Beach for 5 days and visited this beach twice. We would have came more but didn't bring our bathing suits. FYI don't forget them! The beach is clean with hard sand and nice waves. You can drive on the beach for $20.

The beach is clean and most of the time not overcrowded. Plenty of restaurants and hotels near the beach. Easily accessible by Voltran buses as well. It’s a few minutes from Daytona beach and you will not be disappointed.

Drive on beach for 4 wheel drive vehicles. Beach is hard packed sand. The ocean views a breathtaking at sunrise. Nice hotels along the beach and lots of eateries. Close to Daytona and St Augustine. Relaxing place.

I love Ormond-by-the-Sea. The beach is private and picturesque. I love taking my morning coffee and walking along the water’s edge while watching the sunrise.

Great beach to walk on. It was pretty busy near the hotel area but the further we walked, the less people we encountered. The dogs loved running along with us. Excellent place to see the sunset.

I have been coming to Ormond Beach area for 10 years. Upon my retirement I decided to give it a try and purchase a condo here rather than rent anymore. I now live very happily here! The Ormond Beach Olive Co is a cooks and taste testers adventure! I have returned several times and bought many healthy gifts for my family up north! Its on Granada, off from A1A. Worth the trip!

Ormond Beach is the next town north of Daytona Beach. Quiet. Clean. Still close to all the action of Daytona, but not jammed in it. Great Big Beautiful Beach. Nice restaurants. Nice hotels. Friendly people. Mostly an older community of retirees. Growing, but not crowded. Close to everything. Beach. Daytona International Airport and Speedway. Close to Bruce Rossmeyers Destination Daytona. Close to all the US 1 Biker Bars. Close to all the Colleges and Universities in Daytona. Close to all the hospitals, nursing homes, specialized car. The VA Clinic and VA Nursing Home is one of the best in Florida. Numerous Flight Schools. Good offshore, estuary and fresh water fishing. Less than an hour driving to Orlando or Jacksonville. Nice quiet town, but near all the action of Daytona. Ormond Beach has something for everybody.

Absolutely beautiful and enjoyable experience. We stayed all day. It’s free to go. It’s great for anyone who loves the ocean and the beach. We felt really safe. Lifeguards and beach patrol road up and down the beach keeping a watchful eye to make sure everyone was ok. It wasn’t crowded, but we went in September after the kids were back in school. It’s just so peaceful and relaxing. If you visit Daytona Beach, it’s on the same strip but down near Dunlawton.

It was nice. The rain never stayed too long. The water was not too cold. We found
Free parking. There are several restaurants to choose from.

The sand here is nice and firm, so you can drive on it - or run on it (like I did). I didn't see a lot of trash which was nice. They also had nice lifeguard stations too.

We spent a last minute trip of Fri-Mon for our anniversary since Disney was closed. If our trip ever gets canceled again, we'll be back. The beaches were less crowded than Daytona. Our hotel had a beach front view. The water was very clean. The beach was clean. We'll be back.

We are spending a week down here on vacation. The beaches are not crowded since most schools are back into some sort of COVID model and the snow birds from up north have not arrived. Most days there are probably less than 100 people on the beach as far as you can see.

Ormond beach is good very usable, much quieter than Mainstream Daytona beach if you don't want to be in a busy area not far north of Daytona to drive plenty of parking and facilities.

Always have loved this beach, great for families, plenty of places to stay. We like it because it has less hustle and bustle than Daytona.

This beach is just a few miles down the way from Daytona Beach, however felt like worlds apart. Was not crowded at all, beautiful clean beach with lots of room to play and relax. Stayed all day with lots of long strolls and great views, highly recommend over Daytona

Ormond Beach has something for a everyone. Stop in one of the mom & pop restaurants along A1A and enjoy the meal of your life. Grab a beer or cocktail at one of the many pubs or just lazy around on one of the hardest packed sandy shores around. Ormond Beach is the birthplace of speed! The water is nice year round and the beach is always open. Clean water and a great surf on a full moon. Only a mile north of Daytona too! Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets can be enjoyed at one of the many parks overlooking the Intercoastal Waterway or the ocean

Ormond Beach is awesome excellent parking and lavatories and showers to wash sand off👍❤😎😃 Excellent restaurants and shops.

We have stayed in Ormond Beach many winters. It’s lovely- and except for Daytona Beach’s Bike Week- quiet and peaceful. You can find the dates for Bike Week online and just avoid this whole area if you don’t enjoy the constant noise of motorcycles.
The beach here is a great No Drive. It’s wide and a delightful mix of coral sand and fine white sand. There are so many restaurants, a neat museum and best of all, Hull’s Seafood. You can dine there, order take out or shop the amazing display of fresh-caught seafood.
Don’t miss this old Florida favorite!

This was our first trip to Ormond Beach and it did not disappoint. I love the breeze coming off the ocean. The water was clear and area was clean!

Had a wonderful tour of The Casements, which was Rockefeller's winter home and then rented e-bikes from Oceanside e-bikes. I highly recommend them. The bikes were wonderful and the scenery terrific. We even rode on the beach.

Beach is less crowded than Daytona. Family friendly. Is well kept. A great place to play in the ocean and lay in the sun.

Beautiful Beach, well worth a visit. Totally flat and easily accessible. Very clean and tidy. We went just before the children got out of school and it was not overly busy.

A much better beach experience than going to Daytona; quietier and less crowded. Plenty of space to spread out and enough restaurants around the area to grab a bite to eat at lunch.

Nice, clean and quiet beach always look forward to spending time here. Some areas are very natural and most parts do not allow motor vehicles.

Excellent for walking. Not many shells. Cars able to drive on beach and park. Surfers were fun to watch.

I loved the beach. The waves were so strong that I needed to get out after a while. Beautiful view and went to eat to watch the waves afterwards

Wonderful beaches. Easy access. Great for touring. So many FREE beaches. Great state parks. Good walking on the Inland Waterway

We have been visiting Ormond Beach for many years, every December for a month, because my parents live nearby. A few years ago, it was a quiet beach town. Every December, we rented a beachfront condo and found it pleasant and sedate. That's not so much the case anymore. A1A -- the highway that runs in front of the beachfront condos -- is now littered with traffic. Noisy traffic. Noisy motorcyclists (because apparently, this place is a big draw for thousands of motorcyclists a few times a year). Truck traffic. Just incredibly loud and annoying. It's difficult to relax on one's balcony and listen to the waves because -- you can't even hear the waves. The only suggestion I would have for renting or buying a waterfront place in Ormond Beach is to get one directly on the beach, not across the highway from the beach. Sadly, properties directly on the beach are rare.

Property is old and dirty ! How this is more than one star is simply mind boggling. Dirty furniture mold and stains on walls . One of the worst properties I ever stayed in

Favorite beach and I love the town. It's our favorite. The drivers are rather reckless however everything else is great. Love the fishing

The beaches were very clean and well kept. Enjoyed the time we spent there. People were very friendly. Sunrise was very cool to see each morning from our balcony. Long walks on the beach were an added bonus.

I love ormond beach it’s awesome and great atmosphere and great location for a romantic atmosphere and the location is great

We stayed in Daytona Beach. But, found ourselves spending most of our time in Ormond Beach. The beach area is clean and gorgeous. And, quieter than the main area of Daytona Beach.

We always have so much fun! Sand is nice blend of soft powder and compact firm toward the beach! Water is so clear! Beach has never been busy. Always tons of room to spread out

Typically not crowded. Good exercise to walk this part of the coast. Natural beaches with several access points. Great place to see different marine life.

had fun riding up and down the beach. people on the beach are very friendly just watch out for the cars.

Small beachy town. Clean beach and nice people! Nothing much to do but lay on beach and walk around and decompress. First time here on way to Orlando and we stayed at The Cove which was a great choice. I was on the beach alone it was amazing. I’m sure summer is different story. This beach is only a few miles from
Daytona beach. Stay here and save money and enjoy a very quiet beach visit.

Gorgeous beach, coral-color and golden sand, wide and flat, flocks of terns and gulls, not crowded at all. Swimming not safe with no lifeguards, it ok to wade.

Ormond Beach, Florida is a great spot to enjoy public beaches. The beaches are well cared for and I feel safe on the beach with life guard staffing.
Hotel accommodations are limited but there is an abundance just south in Daytona Beach.
There are plenty of restaurants at fair prices. The Beachside Cafe offers excellent breakfasts and lunch at a fair price and Alfie’s has a good menu at reasonable prices.
I liked Ormond Beach so much, I bought a small cottage off of A-1-A.

If you walk on the beach your ONLY option to clean yourself off is to shower on the BEACH. Then you have to walk through the sand to get to the parking lot. Makes no sense. Clearly Ormond Beach does not want visitors to have a good experience and they want them to have a "sand" experience..

The area of Ormond Beach we stayed by was great. It was close to Daytona without the crowds. Highly recommend it.

We stay in Ormond when we visit our daughter. One mile north on A1A makes all the difference. It is calmer and quieter, but the beach is the same. If you want to chill, say in Ormond Beach

Of course we’re here during hurricane season with two hurricanes in the Atlantic. That said, Ormond is a great place to enjoy the beach. We have been many times before, with and without kids. The beaches are well maintained and you can drive on the beach as long as the tide doesn’t prevent it. Ormond Beach is dog friendly in a designated stretch between Rockefeller Drive and Milsap Road. It’s a beautiful area that’s a little more low key than Daytona Beach, but nearby if you like amusements and such. Located on the Jimmy Buffet Memorial Highway just north of Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach has plenty of grocery stores, clothing and beach accessory stores, restaurants, fast food and pharmaceutical stores, such as CVS and Walgreens. The Orlando area is a little over an hour away which makes an easy day trip to “the Parks”. Cape Canaveral is about an hour and a half south. Port Canaveral is a designated departure port for many of the cruise ships.

Ormond Beach offers a beach park with free parking, showers, bathrooms, bbq grills, good restaurants, clean beach. The city itself is very nice with nice neighborhoods and friendly people.

Love it! This was a beautiful beginning of our vacation 🌞Very accessible! I can’t wait to see the sunset next!

Very nice bd generally clean. Beach as low tide is hard packed and walkable
Having grown up in the area it is a shame that the former white sugar sand has all be washed away. That said, it still is a very nice beach to visit and particularly with the no traffic zones.

The beach was clean and relaxing. The sand was silky, water was clear and there were very minimum shells. We didn't see a boardwalk.

This is very clean beach that slopes nicely into the water. It is great for wading and excellent swimming. The waves are plentiful and great for body surfing. This is year round and only during stormy conditions do the waves become more intense. I highly recommend the beach. The sand is fine and relatively clear of harsh granules. I have 'sensitive' feet and rouch sand is uncomfortable. This sand is fine and easy to walk on.

We love Ormond Beach. It is beautiful. We have visited for the past three years. The kids love it. We always have a relaxing vacation here.

just beautiful see my other pictures enclosed please feel free to ask me questions i will do my best to answer and be as informational as i can be for you.

Ormond beach is just north of Daytona Beach. The beaches are quieter, with not as much vehicle traffic on the beach. Also, not as many people either. The beach is not as wide as Daytona beach, but once you get past Granada the beach is vehicle free....makes for a very nice walk anytime of the day or evening. That area is all residential. Beaches are very clean.

While visiting the area for an Anniversary party, a visit to the beach was an extra - did not disappoint!! Lovely pier to walk walk enjoying the ocean smell, breeze and beauty!

Honestly, as the beach itself goes, it’s horrible. I have stayed in Ponce Inlet / New Smyrna Beach for the past 22 years but because of the hurricane last fall and damage to our normal condo, we had to find a different place this year. Unbelievably, to be only 25 minutes away, the beaches are like night and day. The beaches in Ponce Inlet are powdery white sand and flat! Ormond beach on the other hand is VERY hilly, practically no beach, certainly no flat packed sand and the sand is orangish and grainy. I’m so disappointed with our choice. We are directly steps from the beach and the rest of the week we will be packing my vehicle and driving 25 minutes down the road to Ponce Inlet! LESSON LEARNED!! If you are reading this and like white powdery sand and flat packed beaches…Stay FAR FAR AWAY from Ormond Beach , FL.

I've lived in Ormond Beach since 2011 and love every bit of it. Pristine neighborhood with awesome neighbors. Very pet friendly.

Ormond Beach is very nice but has limited width at high tide. It is not a place to find many shells, but it is uncrowded and pleasant to walk or fish. Parking areas are limited. Flagler is at the north end and Daytona is at the south, so there are many choices for shopping or dining.

Oceanside E bike Rentals on Grenada near A1A rented us E bikes to ride the beach for 2 hours and even delivered them to our resort. Very reasonable and super nice bikes and staff.

Great day walking beach, the sand had so many shells, to observe and the sunrise was a site to see. The water was warm in the daytime, with slight waves reaching the shore

We loved walking over the river on the boardwalk waterway close to downtown. It was so peaceful with beautiful views to both sides of the river.

We come to this beach because they allow dogs on certain areas. You can drive on but depending on the weather it can change to 4 wheel drive only or no vehicles. Its $20 per vehicle to drive on. Our 8 kids love this beach, ages 14, 12, 10, 5, 4, 3, 2 and 11 months. Very fine sand, they do have showers but as any beach you will still leave covered in sand. CAUTION: RIP TIDES, this beach has crazy rip tides that are extremely unsafe and can be anywhere from 10 feet wide to 50 feet wide. It's not a good idea for anyone especially children to go deeper than waist deep. There are also a lot of sharks in the area at all times. It's best to stick near the lifeguards.

I like Ormond Beach because there is less traffic and fewer tourists. People are friendly and will talk to me in the park or anywhere.

Ormond Beach is not as crowed as Daytona Beach, but close enough to visit regularly, if wanted. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby and Northern beach is less busy.

Ormond Beach as well as Romano Park are great, safe places to bring your family for a safe time at the Atlantic Ocean. Super convenient and walking distance to great food joints, the ocean is calling you from Ormond Beach...sun, sand and surf are waiting!

We had a great time at the beach itself. The town is the typical beach community with shops and restaurants and lots of condos. But the beach is the main attraction. Cars can drive on it except in front of the main city Park. But the beach is so wide that the cars are not a problem. The water also stays very shallow as you walk out so there are some pretty good waves for boogie boarding and playing around in. A few surfers were there having fun but I don't know enough to tell you if it's a good surf spot or not. All in all we had a great time.

Ormond Beach is very nice but the area is very congested. Ormond Beach has a lot of great restaurants.

I love this beach. I am extra lucky that I live near here.So I visit fairly often. Each adventure is different although at the same day. It depends on the time of year and also the time of day. I love just sitting and enjoying the view, collecting seashells or playing in the waves.

I had to give this a one because it would not let me write a review otherwise. Be warned that this was the most disgusting room that I’ve ever rented. Room was not clean. Previous renters garbage on floor in corners. Poop stains in the toilet and “fluid” stains on EVERYTHING!!!!! Plus mice poop in corners also. Only rent if you have no standards or you are DESPERATE! Side note that 3 people overdosed while we were there for 8 short hours.

Beautiful beach and convenient to restaurants, shopping and local attractions.
Walked for miles on the unspoiled and gorgeous beach.

Stayed on Beachfront which was Beautiful! We ate Lunch at the Riptide which was very good! Took a trip to St. Augustine for the day! Went along coastline which was Beautiful!

A lovely place to live or visit. Most of the area is well cared for and neighborhood residents take pride in their property. Good schools too and well planned local events.

Nice beach with big waves. The spot we parked had bathrooms and was free so that was a bonus. It was not crowded and there was a lifeguard in the tower. Fishing from the beach was something people were doing and I think at some parts of the beach (if you have the right vehicle for it) you can drive on the beach.
It’s not far from Daytona and not the big tourist attraction that Daytona is. It’s worth the visit.

We loved this beach. Nearly had it to ourselves. Allowed to bring own beach equipment. Obviously it’s on the coast so big waves are expected.

We were in Ormond Beach for the Summer (for work), and rented a house across the street from the water. Sunrises and sunsets were breathtaking (see pics❤), and we found several awesome little spots for great food, beautiful views, and people watching around town. It's somewhat intriguing because so many people around Ormond Beach and Daytona seemed absolutely miserable, and there were constantly crazy things happening in and around town- but we had some really good times that we'll never forget😘.

My fiance and I had a great time... We're going to visit this beach again. We ate lunch and returned back in the evening. The seating area is very romantic...and the scenery was cozy.

The beach was beautiful! The water stunning! The lifeguards were driving back and forth up and down the beach making us feel very safe. The ride worked in our favor! We even saw dolphins swimming by twice that day and jumping and splashing and obviously fishing later in the day! We had a wonderful day here!

Very nice beach too walk as it’s virtually flat and firm. Drivable for $20, which was more of a nuisance than anything. Did see a couple of big boy toys get stuck in the soft sand. 😂

Daytona is a hectic beach filled with the 30 and under crowd. Ormond Beach is only a few short miles north of Daytona This is definitely a more family-oriented beach. The beach is clean and rarely crowded. It offers very peaceful morning and afternoon walks. If you need a dose of frentic activity Daytona is a ten minute drive. Ormond Beach offers a number of really fine restaurants. And, for the teen there enough T-shirt and souvenir shops to keep busy.

I’d never heard of Ormond Beach, but I always went to church camp at Daytona. Don’t stay at Daytona, go up A1A a bit and stay at Ormond Beach. You can still visit Daytona, but Ormond Beach is where I will visit from now on!

Beach was awesome. Walks on the beach were relaxing. Our teenagers were driving us crazy but when we started to walk on the beach they did not follow! They stayed at the pool and sunned themselves. The beach this time of year was clean and easy to walk on. It was turtle season so we had to be mindful of the nest. The city had them marked so we would not disturb the eggs. Wonderful time was had by all! We will be back.

The beach is beautiful to walk for miles on. It long n quiet you can drive on beach also. Lots of fishing going on also

it's still a beautiful beach. My kids wanted to be out in the waves, and they would pound into you and knock us over. I prefer a little gentler surf like what you find a few miles south of here.

unique, quiet and family-friendly. I go to this beach all the time, I highly recommend it. It is best during the summer

We are relatively new residents to Daytona Beach and have enjoyed Ormond Beach as it has more residential and is less commercial properties and less tourists. North of Grenada Blvd, you can not drive on it (you can drive on the beach south of there on Daytona Beach) so this makes it less crowded also.

we built a new villa 2 years ago there in Ormond Beach. The development was beautiful. That is it. Took us at least 25 minutes to get to restaurants, shopping etc.
Every other day, we received emails regarding break ins, suspicious activity.
The beaches are all ungroomed. Not to mention, no parking. Park on A1A and take your chances. No parking lots. The beaches are ungroomed. No white sand. The waves are rough and dangerous. Down the way is Daytona, another unsafe area. Very unsafe area. ****Also, if you are not a fan of Motorcycles, Ormond Beach and Daytona Beach are flooded with hundreds and hundreds of motorcycles at least 3 x per year / We are now on the West Coast and enjoy the beaches, area and climate much better. Not for Everyone

not to many people seemed more people fishing on the beach and the water was very cold just stay in a few minutes and it gets ok and a few waves for my grandchild to ride the body board

Enjoy coming to vacation and spend time with my in laws, eat at my favorite restaurants and going to the beach.

Beach is clean and relaxing; much less crowded than Daytona. Nice area with a few places to eat. A lot of restaurants close around 9pm.

Great place to visit, so beautiful and so much to offer!! Everyone needs to visit at least once. You will not be disappointed with a visit to ormond

Ormond Beach was beautiful. Lots of things to do, places to eat and shop. I highly suggest this beach area.

This was a wonderful 3 day get-a-way. We loveed how big the beach was and flat. We will be going back!

The absolute worst experience I have every had in a so called resort. Rooms are old, worn and not clean. You could get high on the marijuana smoke in the parking lot. Parking is inadequate and the noise makes it impossible to sleep. We tried to get a refund and was refuseed. I would sleep in my car before I would stay here.

We love going to the beach in ormond beach. It is a drive on beach. The sand is nice and the ocean has a gentle grade. There are a lot of restaurants in the area. There is plenty to do.

The private beach is quiet and relaxing. The loop is such a beautiful drive around the scenic area. Just minutes away from Daytona's events.

I love Ormond Beach. As a non-resident, you can pay 20.00 for a day pass to drive onto the beach, which makes for a fantastic, stress-free day. I pop the tailgate of my car, set-up my chair. The back-end of my car has the cooler, beach towels and all that you need to bring to the beach without unpacking and dragging through the sand.
The beach is not overly crowded and it is so clean. This is a very family-friendly place, too. People swim, surf, play volleyball, toss the frisbee, walk or just lay in the sun. It's up to you.
You can walk essentially a block or 2 away to a restaurant if you would rather be more spontaneous. There are frequent "Road Lane" signs that give your vehicle 2 lane access to enter or exit the beach.
My favorite beach to visit.

Had a great time. Beach was clean, not only down on the sand, but also the public bath/changing rooms. The fountain was fun for kids young & old. Snack bar was reasonably priced. A great spot for a picnic, surfing or just relaxing.

My husband and I have lived in Ormond Beach for many years. We are beach people. Every time we visit another beach, it makes us appreciate our home beach all the more. Clean sand, clean water, and a car-free beach for the kids. Many places to park with restrooms and outdoor showers, and many lovely eateries.

I don't like crowds. A little serenity goes a long way with me. Ormond Beach North of US40 provides that gift. AND as a bonus some surprising food trucks along the way.

It's a Florida Beach. It's an Atlantic Ocean beach - as opposed to the whiter, cleaner, warmer water beaches on the Florida Gulf Coast. But no beach lover can complain about the joys of the surf, beach-combing for shells, soaking up solar rays when weather permits. This reviewer just walked barefoot in the sand where water met the shore -- in the rain. Fresh water on my head and saltwater on my feet, both natural joys. Ormand Beach is a refreshing place, and only steps away from Atlantic avenue's many accommodations and restaurants.

I love to walk and when I get to the beach, I'm in my glory getting to to walk the beach instead of country roads! If you like to walk the beach, this is the best! The sand is hard and compact so it makes walking wonderful! We were there in February and basically had the beach to ourselves!

Ormond beach was very nice. The sand was soft and not too many people where we were.
My daughter has recently moved there and was my first visit. Along with my grandchildren we had a great time.
Recommend this beach to everyone

Nice place to visit on the Atlantic Ocean with constant breezes and beach drive when tides allow. There are number of restaurants, Rockefeller Winter home to visit, and Ormond Art museum as well as many other activities.

Beautiful sand and coastal views! Absolutely perfect stop along the coast! Going up A1A is a drive that shouldn’t be missed on a sunny day! One never knows what you’ll see! There’s always ships on the horizon and sandpipers hopping along the water’s edge!

Ormond Beach is a fancier version of Daytona. Not as crowded and a less traffic. Shops and dining close by.

Not crowded at all. Felt so relaxing everyday! Many restaurants, not boring! Beach convenient to Outlets, many groceries, many choices for food. Felt very safe walking all times of the day.

Lovely very clean beach, with lots of space for everyone! Wide variety of places to dine and shop. We visit almost every year.

I am from the west coat of Florida so I am very partial to the west coat beaches, and I am not used to people diving on the beach. That said it is a nice beach, the sand is more corse than I am used to but it does make it easy to ride bikes and walk on and I did like this.

Been traveling to ormond beach for over 20 years. More seniors than teenagers. Crowds are small. Lots of great restaurants and short drive to daytona.over favorite place to relax.

Beach is beautiful- water is colder as it is the Atlantic. The only downside is there are no cabanas. There should be cabanas on the parts of the beach where vehicles are prohibited.

this is a nice sandy beach with no crushed shells. this is probably the only beach we have ever been to where you weren't eaten up by flies during the day and mosquitos at night. i had brought insect repellant but didn't have to use it at all. my husband did cut his foot somehow riding a wave in and where it was bleeding, we got out of the ocean immediately. a person surf fishing next to our hotel did catch a 2 1/2 foot shark. we saw dolphins swimming past our hotel on several occasions. i had to take medication for my sinuses every day that we were there and my husband broke out in large red boils on the underside of his arm. this has only happened to us one other time at seashore state park in delaware. the other beaches we have went to, my sinuses have stayed clear and my husband didn't have any skin issues. this makes me wonder if there is some type of toxic pollution in the air and water at this beach and that is why there are no bugs.

We visited in December and the beach was quiet and clean. Plenty of trash cans all along the beach. Not many shells but sand is beautiful.

I discovered Ormond Beach in 2007 and have returned here ever since. We enjoy many of the restaurants locally (i.e. Charlie Horse and Riptides).

Bee to OB several times over the last 20 years and have always enjoyed the beach and fine food there without the hustle/bustle of Daytona. Highly recommend it.

We stay at the Outrigger Club in our timeshare condo every year. We love this beach. It is just north of bustling Daytona, yet quaint and family friendly. It has an upper middle class feel to it. You have the drivable ocean beach and the Halifax river to enjoy they bring tons of activity and wildlife but our favorite, the lazy days in the beach.

Ormond Beach area is just the perfect getaway. I hesitated putting the review up, and risking the next visit being too crowded. :-)
It has a small town feel, locals are very friendly, and it is so close to other "big city" things but far enough away to be its own unique self. Lots of options for food, fun, and just doing nothing but watching the ocean waves hitting the beautiful sandy beaches. Watch the sunrise on the beach, and catch the sunset on the intercoastal waterway.
Take the family, or sneak away with your spouse for a great time away. You will LOVE IT!

Great big beach. Several hotels along the beach allow you to be in front of the ocean in a short time. Ormond Beach is the city adjacent to Daytona Beach. On South Atlantic Avenue, there are several restaurants, hotels, a dollar store, a souvenir shop and a rest stop to admire the beauty of the sea if you are not staying at the hotel.

Really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful beach. Very walkable. It was a little chilly, but the days were beautiful.

Had time to spend several hours walking the beach and it was very relaxing. There is a section where no vehicles are allowed and it was very comfortable. Beach is quite wide and between the nice houses to one side and the ocean on the other, it was very nice. There were a number of entrances to the main street in case you wanted to conclude your walk.

My wife and I have visited Ormond beach 3 times now and love it. The beaches are never packed with people and are great for taking a walk.....

We love this beach far enough out of Daytona to not see the wild behavior from there but close enough to have plenty to do and eat. Love watching the cars on the beach plenty of entertainment. Always very clean.

Very nice beach to walk on....just watch out for the Portuguese-man-of- war (jelly fish type) that wash up with the tide.

This was my first time visiting Ormond Beach, I had a great time - I've been to Daytona Beach several time but I didn't realize there was an even more enjoyable option just up the road

We thoroughly enjoy ormond beach. We do own a timeshare here, so come often. It is about 15 min north of the bustle of Daytona beach, and a great hour drive up A1A to St. Augustine. Great area.

My friend and I have been here two years now and plan on comming back next. year. Great community with some family owned resturants. good food and good area

Great food, prices quite reasonable, excellent service. Tara is terrific server but most of the staff also.
Peter & Carol R. Milan,NY.

Can walk for miles with few people on the beach; people are friendly. Most hotels facing beach have area to wash off sand. Kids can play in water with generally little heavy wave action except when stormy weather.

This is a NO traffic beach and NO pets beach and plenty of nice sandy area to get that tan. Also their is a park on A1A which has rest rooms and outdoor shower plus picnic tables with grills with plenty of parking.

Rough water, not a family beach. Could never go in without undertone warnings.
Windy. Sand is not soft and clean. Vehicles driving on the beach.
Nice smell of gasoline

January is a warm month 60 and 70 's but wait a few hours and the wind and clouds knock it down to 50 or even 40 's in Ormand .
Ormand beach is the location where Motor racing got it start and true to that statement you will find the early nuts and bolts of racing m A.KA. auto garages, outlooks, bars and restaurants with the racing flavor ..Daytona and the well known speedway sit 10 miles south of Ormand . SO to all you motorheads and grease gun nuts and especially motorcyclists. Enjoy , and bring those coats and leathers just in case . Your mecca awaits !

This is an excellent flat beach for walking--especially at low tide. It is better than many other Florida beaches as it is so flat. One can walk for miles in either direction from the junction of Highway 40 and the beach.

I had the opportunity to stay on Ormond Beach for my birthday weekend this past January 27-30, 2023. It’s such a beautiful beach. The sand looks like it is golden bronze and the blue waters is mesmerizing. The sand is soft like talcum powder. People can drive on the beach too which I don’t like. We watched the sunrise a couple mornings then also went walking in the beach and found some cute seashells. I took some pretty amazing pictures too! I definitely recommend checking out this beach! 🏖️

A great beach with plenty to eat and see. We stayed a week but did not wish to leave. Visit off season for maximum pleasure

We enjoy the beach but really a parking problem since almost no-one parks on the beach anymore since there is a fee to drive on the beach. The trash cans were overflowing on the beach and it was a Saturday mid-day. The poles that control traffic are confusing as well and only short distances allow driving on the beach.

We stayed right on the beach. The sunrises were beautiful! Very relaxing and hope to come again. We also visited The Casements and enjoyed the tour and history.

This beach was not busy the day we went which was nice and parking was easy. The current was very strong so we only went in knee beach. Lots of shells, not white sand.

Discovered the city of Ormond while visiting family. Off season it was quiet and we were able to drive the Jeep along the beach. Some brave kids were in the water but we just enjoyed walking in the sand, collecting shells and flying some giant kites.

The view was amazing. Very clean beach. Lots of parking. And access areas to the beach. Still some construction going on from the last hurricane that destroyed the whole coastline.

This beach is extensive, beautiful, very appealing and photographic.
The day we were there a life-guard was on duty that gave us safety peace of mind...people on the beach were adhering to 'social distancing' guides and The Atlantic was majestic in its beauty. Awesome to say the least.

Spent a couple of days in the Ormond Beach area to relax, rest, and have a reflection. The beach was nice and there are many things to do in the area. Short drive to a variety of activities.

Love the beach. It was clean with no shells or rocks. The waves were perfect for boogie board or body surfing. You can also drive on the beach and cruise down towards Daytona. There are places to park and take the sun outside of the car or truck. Just a perfect place.

The Ormondy on Ormond Beach, Florida is a beautiful, quiet, well kept condo only steps away from a spectacular beach. Only a short walk away from shopping, restaurants and groceries.
Across the Halifax River Bridge are lots of parks, shopping and restaurants.Great vacation location.

Stayed last year
For a week. Liked it so much I purchased 3 timeshare weeks. I love the beach, the town and our resort👍

We stayed at the Outrigger Beach Club on Ormond Beach and loved it! Family friendly, white sand, warm water and nice waves. Good restaurants and lots to do within a short distance.

Being from Myrtle Beach, I came here to relax and get away from large crowds. This place is great for families to come and spend a weekend. Not too crowded (relatively)… nice restaurants nearby… and felt very safe!

Nice clean beach. Lots of daily maintenance keep it clean. Turtle nests, dolphins, ospreys....all add character.

Ormond Beach is a gorgeous beachfront community that has become one of the most desired destinations in Florida. From the intercostal waterway to the Atlantic Ocean, it’s about good food, good fun and surrounded by tranquility.

We have fallen in love with this beach. It's calm and quiet and doesn't have the craziness of Daytona. This is our go-to beach!

The beaches are outstanding but the visitors really sucks......I wonder if there yards look as bad as the beach does when they leave and leave trash, cigarette butts, and whatever they don't want to take home.

Best Beach Vacation!! Our first time to Ormond beach- the water was absolutely beautiful. The whole family enjoyed playing in the ocean.

Easy walking to boardwalk areas. Can always find a spot of your own. Great for bike week too! Like that so many hotels beach front.

As others have written, this is a terrific beach, not crowded and a laid-back crowd there just to enjoy the sun and surf, rather than just to capture Instagram photos or start a fight like the people at other Florida beaches. Nice restaurants and hotels at reasonable prices. One of my favorite destinations! Especially good for families or people just looking to get away and relax.

We stayed at Casa Del Mar in Ormond beach. The beach was clean. There is a driving lane and large life guard station by our hotel. Not a lot of vehicle traffic on the beach which is nice. There was a rental vendor that arrived each day about 9 am and set up lounge chairs and umbrellas to rent for the day. $40.00. Vendors also had boogie board and paddle boards. Vendors were very nice and friendly
We were there for 5 days so decided to go to local discount store and purchased some cheap folding chairs they worked just fine and we saved lots of money. We loved Ormond beach and would definitely go back.

Great place, not super busy! Lovely beaches, friendly places to visit. Close to many fun attractions but not so close it is super busy.

The beach is very nice. Very soft sand so not too many vehicles on the beach. If you are looking for shells, you won't find them.

I lived (previously) in Florida for 22 years and never stayed at Ormond. Very nice beach, especially the parts with no vehicle access. Attentive lifeguards, nice people.

Would visit Ormond Beach again. Not crazy busy like Daytona! Stayed at The Cove, nice easy walk thru lobby to beach, nice pool too. Ice cream truck goes by on the beach on the weekends. You can drive on the beach if you want. Access to get on beach is at corner of S Atlantic and W Grenada. Plenty of beach parking across S Atlantic if you don’t want to pay to park/drive on beach.

This beach is very clean. There are only a handful of places to eat in the area so feel free to bring some snacks. The two ice cream vans come out on the beach in the afternoon. There are no sea shells to be found in this area. Have looked many a times. The water is pretty shallow in most areas, but the undertow is a bit strong for the little ones. Pretty quiet and relaxing.

Ormond Beach is located just outside of Daytona. Great area! The beach is always clean and kept. Ice cream truck comes by for an added plus! You can set up your own canopy or rent chairs and umbrella by the day! This beach is perfect for walks, sand castles, or just relaxing.

I loved the beaches, and how the sand was different from a regular beach! The sand was more orange than a tan color. In the area, if you live there, you are walking distance from many stores, shops and beaches. It is easy to access, and it is so much fun to walk down the streets and shops with friends or family. I most definitely had a blast! Tanning and splashing with family in the water!

The beach side is very nice. The city is very lovely and easy to get around. There was lots of different activities to choose from, great beachy restaurants, and above all the beach is breathtaking!

Great walking beach with miles to cover, even if you don't stay on it, you can find areas to park near by.

Beach was tidy and clean, you can walk for miles and enjoy it here, access to the beach vi ramps for vehicles available at some points. Unfortunately there were so many jellyfish when we went
Beautiful day on the beach, close to hotel
Beautiful beach close to hotel, amenities available. Food, drinks and Publix close by. No pets on beach but hotels pet friendly.
