A nice afternoon diversion in Boulder

By lori.in.idaho |

So glad we visited this popular place! So much to see, to sample and to (gulp) buy! Loved the variety of shops and restaurants. The benches were welcome, as well. Only one person asked for money, but he was sweet about it. I can easily see why this is a "go-to" place while in Boulder.

Perfect for an evening stroll

By jennieKlein |

Pearl street is filled with adorable shops and great restaurants. Perfect for date night! We love to get ice cream and sit and watch street performers.

UGH! Bring Back the Old Pearl St.!!!

By MIT629 |

Can you say gentrified??? When I lived in Boulder in the 1990's Pearl St. was MUCH different than it is now. Rents are high so a lot of the local mom & pop shop feel is mostly gone. Enter chain this, chain that, Starbucks, etc. A block or two off of Pearl Street, you see corporate signs for Oracle, etc. - give me a break! It's still a beautiful walk down Pearl but like the rest of Boulder, it's not the same. The tech industry has succeeded in ruining Boulder in a 20 year period.

A great walk for people watching

By jim4900R |

Shops galore, restaurants of all ilk, musicians in every block, buskers who seem to won
different intersections, kiosks selling everything from hot dogs to hats, unbelievable people watching and one of the best private book store ever. All of this from 9th to 15th street and with no vehicles on the mall and continuing a few blocks off the mall on Pearl Street. We always make it a must walk after dinner.

Don't bother

By Jessica W |

Filthy, overpriced stores and felt abandoned. Homeless people starving while the grotesquely wealthy dined and drank.
Truly disturbing

Always LOVE Shopping Here!

By Sooz C |

My niece lives in Boulder and every time we visit we come here for shopping and dining. We like the diversity of shops and food options.

Charming Main Street

By travellerbw123 |

Very cute and charming main street with great restaurants and shopping. Parking in the area was very easy and inexpensive.

Nice shopping & dining locale

By Scott P |

The Pearl Street Mall offers a large selection of unique shops. Some familiar names but some real gems for travelers and shoppers alike.

Coupled with dining options a perfect place for an afternoon of shopping and dining.

Fun pedestrian mall in heart of Boulder

By Dromahair |

We'd spend the morning hiking up in the Flatirons, and so decided to drive down into Boulder for a little lunch. There is ample metered parking around Pearl St., and plenty of places to eat. Did a little walking around after, mostly window shopping and people watching, but there's a store there for everyone and I'd be lying if I said we didn't end up buying a few things along the way. A good time over all.

Very eclectic

By CindyLou2262 |

It’s always entertaining to go to the street. They have some great boutiques, fun restaurants and the entertainment is usually worth the while. Where else can you go to watch people on skateboards playing guitars, skateboarding and texting, people doing the hula hoop, and then they had a big indigenous people celebration, yes we witnessed all that in one day.

Meeting some friends on Pearl, they were in from out of town and had some very fun, very eye-opening experiences and some good food. We were shocked to see and hear that they no longer allow dogs on Pearl Street. Even though I have a service dog I was asked to remove her. She is tiny enough and fits in a backpack that I put her in and nobody paid attention to her as I went in and out of stores. I was told, because of the homeless, most homeless people seem nowadays to have a pet. I was also told that their dogs have been unattended to and have pooped and peed on the street, In front of peoples shops and restaurants and their crap was not being picked up.

Good thing I like the smell of pot, it doesn’t bother me. But what does bother me is that there were a fair amount of people carrying on conversations to themselves and we even saw and heard some people howling and jabbering about something that we had no idea why they were so upset!

We did manage to find a incredible place to eat that was off away from downtown called ADO’S, It was definitely worth the walk to eat the food that was presented to us.

Pearl Street is a very fun and interesting place even though a lot of craziness happens I WOULD go back.

Shops and restaurants

By Victoria P |

Parking in the area can be a challenge. We went on a holiday and managed to find a metered spot. There are some parking lots for a fee. The area is a fun walk for all ages. Children will be delighted by the sweets that are sold, the street performers and the sculptures throughout the outdoor Mall. You will find many restaurants, arts and crafts, clothing, trinkets, outdoor gear, clothing, fine and casual jewelry, hats, ice cream, dispensary and smoke shops. Lots of outdoor seating to sit and rest your feet.

Fun

By barakota |

It’s one of the most exciting place to walk through
Nice and clean , a lot of music and activity
A lot of restaurants to choose from ,

Very walkable with lots of stores & restaurants

By Teresa Lewis Watts |

The Pearl Street Mall is only accessible if you wish to pay to park at least a block or two away. Just to stroll through, we were lucky to find a parking row next to a parking lot which was free after 7 pm.

The shops are eclectic & diverse; the clothing stores are especially pricey. A couple of the stores we most wanted to visit closed at 5 or 6 pm, so window shopping was our only outlet.

The eateries range from delis with bars to the more fanciful; again, be prepared to potentially overpay for a decent meal of any type.

The shade trees & flower beds are charming & beautiful, as are the architectural elements along the way.

The biggest disappointment of all were the condition of the public restrooms: Absolutely filthy & unusable, no paper was the least of the complaints. The fact that Boulder prides itself on being so progressive & liberal-minded shows exactly what the city thinks of its visitors by allowing these restrooms to exist! We couldn’t believe the contrast between these unusable public restrooms & the appearance of the rest of this outdoor mall. Inexcusable—& well-deserving of two stars for no one apparently giving a damn.

A must!

By JW traveler |

This is by far the best people watching place! There are street performers, great shops, great restaurants and the people are the best! There is always something going on. Enjoy!

You can't come to Boulder and not visit Pearl!

By CarpeDiem0626 |

Pearl Street is the heart of this friendly town. Great shopping, restaurants, street performers, people watching, free concerts, etc.

There is plenty of parking but I recommend any one of the garages over circling for street parking.

Outdoor mall

By Creighton H |

Fun place to walk around and shop and eat. Variety of shops and restaurants. Awesome pep rally before University of Colorado homecoming game.

First Visit

By Rod L |

Lots of shops and probably a great bar scene in the evenings. Looks like they have a variety of shops, and have done a great deal of plantings. Flowers were up.

There is plenty of parking rotating in and out. I wasn't sure, so I parked in the garage. Nice place to walk and enjoy the evening.

Many shops/restaurants/bars to choose from

By TripPhotographer52 |

The weather was very nice when my wife visited Boulder and we were staying close by. We did not get a chance to visit all the shops as we only stayed in Boulder for one day and we also went to a park for a nice walk, etc. Anyways, I went to the Lazy Dog Sports Tavern to watch my favorite team play- the play was wonderful as a busy, exciting sports bar. I stopped at a candy store which had delicious chocolate, etc. We stopped at many shops, including an art gallery which had beautiful art and statues. The Pearl Street Mall seems pretty upscale and frequently pricey.

Charming shopping experience

By Erina H |

Charming shopping street with a ton of cute cafes, restaurants, eclectic shops, and high-end brands (especially outdoor gear). Well worth a visit.

Great Main Street Mall

By SmithAtlanta |

This is a must visit on a trip to Boulder. In fact, its hard to miss if you want to shop, drink or dine.

Great Mall

By Michael |

I usually do not like malls, but this one is different. It is about 5 blocks long and has some magnificent stores: many good bookstores and ice cream shops!

Vacation

By paws0810 |

What a great little area to stop in between just arriving at Boulder. We walked up and down Pearl Street and enjoyed several stores pretty cool

Beautiful Downtown Area

By hills136 |

Stroll along, visit shops, watch street performers, enjoy a meal or sample local beers at a brewery. There is much to do and see in this picturesque, walkable family-friendly area.

Cute Area to Shop

By Amy W |

We stopped here taking in the sites of Boulder. There are several restaurants to choose a good meal it and the shops to browse through when you are done with your meal.

Nice stroll

By Dana R |

Lots of cute shops and cool things to see. This guy on the corner was juggling and then started asking people their zip code, he literally knew every single zip code that was yelled out loud! Amazing! Lots of eating places, pubs, galleries, shops and ice cream too. Lovely court house in the middle. Very clean and well kept. No liter! Just beautiful!

Colorado weekend

By pgolden1 |

The center of the Boulder universe. It’s so nice and quite a pleasant walk. There are plenty of shops and Restaurants.

Strolling pearl street

By Lisa Cott |

Strolling the street with friends. Wonderful Sunday morning before Trevor and Katie’s wedding. Started aT the Village for breakfast and then enjoyed the sights and sounds. Especially liked The Peppercorn.

Pleasant shopping

By LAW64 |

Nice area to wander around with some shops including excellent book shop and live music. Parking available around the corner which was free over Labor Day weekend.

Cute street to stroll

By Ashley H |

we enjoyed seeing the beauty of Boulder from Pearl Street, there is great shopping, lots of food options, and on a Thursday that we made it by there were street musicians out. I love Boulders artsy vibe, this was a great place to walk after grabbing lunch!

Great for gift shopping and seeing the more festive side of Boulder

By Mariella |

Super kiddie friendly, lots of great shops, scenic and pretty, great variety of restaurants, we loved the food stalls and the market stalls and buskers. We visit every time we go to Boulder!

Lots of fun!

By MsPet |

There are plenty of shops where you can find unique items, but the best thing about this place is the street performers. There seems to be acts going on all the time that entertain people of all ages. My grandkids had a blast!

Great evening

By justinp460 |

Great downtown area. You can walk around without worrying about automobiles running you down. Cool street preformers and if your into people watching this place won't disappoint. Shopping, food, and bars what's not to love.

pedestrian friendly done well

By stijntailly |

This is your average "pedestrian friendly couple of blocks in a liberal college town" done very well. The car-free stretch of Pearl street goes for exactly four blocks and has the expected concentration of retail stores, bars and restaurants. Be sure not to miss the absolutely stunning art deco gem between 13th and 14 streets that is home to several county services. Boulder might be one of Colorado's greatest towns, outdoor-friendly, eco-savvy, smart and that Front Range backdrop sure doesn't hurt.

Wonderful but . . .

By Excursion69919 |

We found this street great for strolling, shopping, browsing and eating but if you are in a nearby rental, buying basic supplies to have breakfast or cook a meal was hard to come by. A car would really have been helpful. Same is true for getting to the mountains. Didn’t see any local tours to get to Estes Park but maybe we missed them. Luckily we had relatives to take us.

A fun street mall.

By Wayne M |

On our way to Estes Park on vacation, we stopped in Boulder to walk the famous Pearl Street Mall. It was a lovely place with many unique shops and restaurants and lots of people-watching. Although it was late morning, there was even a street performer (mime) performing! We ate brunch in the delightful Foolish Craigs. Enjoyable stop to start our vacation in Colorado's Rocky Mountains.

Great Spot for People-Watching in the Summer!

By Janette B |

Took our visitors here when they visited us in Boulder, as we wanted to have a wander, do some window-shopping and maybe get a bite to eat at an outdoor cafe, as we had our pooch with us. Good choice - lots to see and do, and a great selection of restaurants to choose from.

Nice pedestrian area, full of life

By Istvan S |

Nice albeit somewhat small pedestrian area, full of life during the day, somewhat quiet after 10 pm.

Lovely strolling here

By Kathrine |

Great place to wander and see the mountains in the distance. Lots of shops and food options that go for many blocks. Part of the area is pedestrian only. Gardens change with seasons. There is a helpful information booth too.

A not to be missed experience

By Zoey30043 |

The Pearl Street Mall was a really great experience for us. There are lots of shops and restaurants and when the local street performers are added to the experience, it is well worth the visit. Local folks are very friendly, helpful, and easy to have a casual conversation with. We learned a lot about the area from a local standpoint.
Consider going on a Sunday afternoon, when parking is free and activities are at a peak.

Nice street mall

By ken m |

Great pedestrian mall with street closed to traffic, Outdoor seating, restaurant's and shops. Street entertainment.

Pleasant, Quaint and Kwirky

By malpal |

Very clean, wide, nicely appointed walkway with shops of all kinds along both sides. Really interesting shops too. Local wares mixed in with the mainstream stores. Every imaginable kind of restaurant --well, except for a true vegan option - but plenty of great food options otherwise, adult, family and kid type places. Lots of entertainment along the plaza as well. One thing ....NO PETS allowed on the plaza. According to my daughter, service animals are allowed but you will be stopped and must be able to prove it's a service animal.

Nice way to spend an afternoon

By Sherri C |

Great shops, and restaurants in a relaxed atmosphere. I highly recommend a stop here. We ate at West side Tavern and the food was outstanding.

Sum it up easily

By WillTravel |

I can sum this up very easy. If your Liberal you will love it. If you are conservative you will hate it. Lots of weird and creepy people in my opinion. Lots of over priced stores which really didn't have anything we wanted. We tried to get something to eat at a local restaurant (rather than a chain). Maybe they are used to the laid back attitude but after sitting for around 20 minutes and not even getting a menu we left. Street performers? I saw a few but not like the quality I have seen in other cities. I would not go back.

Spend a relaxing day here

By Coastal29667056029 |

What a fun place to spend the day in Boulder. Added bonus was the fantastic Farmers market going on on a Saturday. Lots of interesting shops a food places.

Pearl Street shopping

By Stumperz |

A nice pedestrian area with shopping. Unfortunately, it looks like there were several shops that did not survive COVID. Despite this, there are a lot of options for outdoor gear and souvenirs.

Very family-friendly!

By MyBucketListTrips |

We stopped to stroll down the historic downtown street and get lunch on our way to Estes Park. It’s not all tourist traps. There are some really great shops. It’s safe, clean, and family-friendly. Our lunch was buffalo and elk dogs from a hot dog vendor. They were delicious! He had lots of customers. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Lovely to visit, great for window shoppping

By Shelly L |

A lovely pedestrian mall filled with lots of little shops that are mostly cute but expensive. Buskers and street artists abound which makes for a great time wandering for a couple of hours. Parking is free on Sundays but the lots are crowded.

Lots to see

By Tony M |

Has a good selection of shops and places to eat and drink. Well worth a stroll along the road if you are in Boulder.

Not kept up over the years; kinda dingy

By Ron G |

Before this recent trip, it had been about 30+ years since I last visited this outdoor mall. This last trip, it looked like it hadn't been updated in all that time - the feel was dingy and tired, lots of panhandlers. Just past the western edge of the mall was a patch of new and interesting restaurants and bars - visit that part, and skip the mall itself.

Worth when visiting or passing through Boulder!

By Amy K |

Our first time to Boulder and we stopped here for lunch on the way to Estes Park. It's about 4 blocks long so super walkable and a fun way to spend an afternoon in Boulder. It has a wide variety of unique shops and cafes/restaurants. We were there on a Wednesday afternoon so it wasn't busy and parking was easy.

Colorado visit with family

By MammawJ |

Pearl Street is a must see....it’s beautiful, interesting, the shops are unique and food is great.
Put it on your bucket list.
We can’t wait to go back

Lots of variety

By donnaibbott |

Stopped for souvenirs. Lots of places for food, shopping, services. Parking isn't free but was easy enough.

It's Pearl Street

By Hermes O |

Wonderful dining options, night life, great people watching, excellent buskers and live street entertainment not to mention food trucks and loads of events throughout the year.

The only downside, the City could do much more to assist the homeless population, enforce rules, and provide greater security. The homeless encampments are a sad commentary on Boulder's ability to care for people and it undermines the businesses and tourism as a driver of the economy.

Great location!

By TDW_3002 |

Gotta visit -great place to stroll and eat - could eat there for days! several street performers (some good some I could do without)

Great Saturday night hangout

By Nancy SC |

I love communities that have fun, walkable downtown shopping and dining. It was a Saturday night, and we found parking easily. Lots of street performances, great flowers and lights. Combined with a few homeless people, and Offset by fabulous aromas coming from the many restaurants.

Lots of shops and places to relax. Wish we had more time.

Pedestrian Mall

By digitalroc |

I didn’t know about this mall until I was driving down Broadway and I noticed all the people. I travelled a few more blocks north to park and venture back to take it all in. It is a nice outdoor pedestrian friendly mall, and reminded me of Stephen Avenue Mall in Calgary. Lots of shopping and dining in the area, most certainly the top attraction in Boulder.

Fun outside mall

By LPDiane |

We were here on a Friday afternoon and we had no trouble finding parking. We noticed that many of the shops and restaurants were closed, perhaps due to covid. However, it was a good place to take a walk on a sunny day and we found a great restaurant where we could sit outside for lunch. Good place to go to take a group or a couple for a walk. I didn't go into any clothing shops but there seemed to be quite a few unique shops, clothing, candy, etc.

Very Enjoyable Stroll

By Previa1994 |

Pearl Street Mall was a very enjoyable place to walk on a Sunday afternoon in April. The pedestrian only four block area was a stress-free zone in spite of all the people around. Being a mall area, there are all kinds of shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes. The same kind of businesses continue for a while on either end of the Mall, so one could enjoy a long walk.

The Visitor Information center in the middle of the mall was very helpful with maps and other information about the mall area. Flower gardens and playground areas are interspersed in the mall area to make it a lovely place.

Absolutely lovely - even in a pandemic!

By travelgirl93463 |

This was our first (but not last!) visit to Boulder and the Pearl Street Mall was recommended. So glad we went! For those who don’t know it is an outdoor pedestrian/walking mall. Everyone was wearing masks so we felt safe and it was so pleasant to stroll. We had takeout food from Falafel King (if you like falafels GO THERE - sooo fresh and delicious!) and loved the gorgeous planters throughout the mall spilling over with beautiful seasonal flowers. There were benches along the sides in some areas where one could sit which was nice. We’ll be back!

Great walking area

By djbls |

We came here and there was an arts festival going on nearby. We totally enjoyed this street. So many different shops and restaurants (really no national chains). There's a great bookstore on this street and lots of boutiques. We went to a local coffee place which was nice.
Great people watching too. There are some cars on the cross streets, but for the most part not a lot of traffic. We did have to pay to park in a garage to come here, but enjoyed it.
Look forward to coming back!

Shopping, dining and people watching

By lindsay0215 |

First time here. It was pretty crowded but we enjoyed all the different shops and especially Ben and Jerry’s. We took the Lime electric scooters so we didn’t worry about parking. Fun evening!

Street Performers and cool shops

By 108Linda |

We enjoyed the hilarious street performers, cool shops and good restaurants. We were close to everything at the Bradley Boulder B&B.

Afternoon Stroll

By lmstrad83 |

Stopped by to grab some lunch and waste a few hours. They have a good variety of restaurants and stores. A few souvenir stores but not as many as some of the nearby towns. We were surprised by the amount of homeless people in the area considering how cold it was outside, but we always felt safe. Really liked the bookstore and candy store.

Good place to shop

By aliciaburge |

This is a nice place to stop and do a little shopping. There are lots of nice places to shop and good places to eat. Even if you just want to walk in a pedestrian area this is great.

nice restaurants and bars

By Todd G |

great place to walk around outside, shop, eat or drink. lots to do. Plenty of parking on side streets.

Nice walking day

By Eba' A |

Spend Sun. morning walking in the street, many souvenirs shop, ice cream, coffee shop... adult, teenagers n kids will like this place

No Dogs Allowed

By LuvHaribo |

People can do mj in Boulder but you cannot have your pup on the mall. It is outdoors so seems like an odd rule. Signs are posted. Other cities of a similar nature (Tombstone AZ...cooler town) allow pups. Other people walking around a bit snotty.

What a downtown should be

By NKPBerkshire |

The array of shops and restaurants is fantastic and continues for a few blocks east and west of the mall itself. Make reservations for restaurants.

Historic, Downtown Boulder at its finest

By April |

The pedestrian mall is a piece of history and a wonderful place to go for a stroll, do some shopping, and grab a bite to eat. Plus it's great for people watching and seeing unique street performers. The flowers are always gorgeous, spring tulips are a must see!

Perfect Afternoon

By chachamatina |

Loved it here! This is a great pedestrian mall with lovely shops and restaurants. There are some food trucks/stalls which are not to be missed. We grabbed a fancy grilled cheese and some delicious Indian dumplings and sat on a bench in the park.

Great variety of businesses.

By 62mike |

This is a wonderful area to spend some time exploring, eating, and hanging out. It was very clean and busy with people in the middle of the day. Plenty of eating options inside and outside under large umbrellas used by many establishments. Best parking option is one block off the mall area. I think we stayed about 3 hours and it was $2.25.

Pearl Street Mall not to be missed on a summer evening.

By George P |

Pearl Street Pedestrian Mall is great place to wander, shop, eat and hang out. Lots of great restaurants and free entertainment on the mall. Something for everyone.

Nice spot

By skajungle |

This is a nice place to walk around, but nothing much of interest. If you want a Sunday morning stroll, this is probably a good thing to do.

Traffic free walk

By A303gb |

Lots of shopping and interesting restaurants from coffee shops to Japanese to bistros and fine dining. Something for everyone.

Just a small college town street mall

By suepark268 |

I am not sure what the attraction is but I did not see anything that was interesting enough. The street was very nicely maintained with a lot of flowers and artsy columns. I can see it would be quite crowded when the school is in session. Coffee shop ( can't remember the name) was okay.

Awesome!

By Angela H |

A must see while in the area. Unique and local shops make it the perfect afternoon or evening getaway. Tons of live music and other eccentric acts make it very entertaining. Easy parking usually in the area as well. Loads of spots for kids to climb around as well!

Wonderful place to shop

By Cindy R |

Great shopping area downtown. The area was very clean and they had some really great shops. A must visit if you are downtown Boulder.

Great People Watching

By RVIDI |

Pearl Street is a wonderful place to explore. Plenty of shopping, restaurants and bars. Also a great place to people watch!

We sauntered through the crowds, listening to many street musicians, a magician and what looked like a tent set up for different cultural dancers.

There is something for everyone on Pearl Street. You can spend a little time of an afternoon. All out in the open. A must see if you are in Boulder.

Wonderful outdoor area - must see in Boulder!

By FAJ |

Unsure a trip to Boulder would be complete without a visit to this outdoor ‘mall’...tons of shops, eateries and sights abound at this pedestrian friendly outdoor area. Great place for the parents and family to visit while touring CU. Excellent dining and shopping options. Multiple coffee house too. Would definitely be back!

What a cool place to visit!

By Monica E |

Pearl street is a great place to visit for shopping and sight seeing. Is not super long and can be seen in 1-3 hours and except for parking which was $2.45 for us, is well worth visiting. They have all kinds of stores, boutiques and restaurants to visit.

What a fun area

By Cindy W |

This is the happening place. Full of great restaurants, bars, shopping, and people. A must visit if you come to Boulder

Lovely downtown walk!

By Amy W |

A lovely downtown to walk, shop, people watch, etc. Lots of adorable local shops and restaurants with character and charm. Not your run-of-the-mill chains and cheezy tourist traps.

Nice stroll, interesting stores, no traffic

By Florian S |

Recommended for a stroll and shopping in boutique stores. No traffic in the open-air mall and interesting/unique stores besides the typical chain stores. Relaxing and felt safe.

Catch it at the right time

By AltenStudio |

There are a lot of stores and things to see. Buskers, people watching, areas to play, sit, or read. This is a pedestrian-oriented space which is nice to see, but there are cars on cross streets. Many of the stores cater to the outdoor adventuring type of client, but there's also salons, bookstores, and many places to eat. The crowds can be overwhelming so try to visit when it's a bit quieter. We last went late morning, middle of the week and it was great.

Great stores; terrible cross traffic

By Professor Xavier von TaterTot |

This is one of the best places to hang out on a warm afternoon and jump in and out of the many shops. We loved Peppercorns for kitchen items. Also lots of art stores and special places to find nice things.
However, hoping the city reads this; the cross traffic on Broadway can be very unsettling. Cats tend to speed quickly by over the speed limit and close to the curb and the pedestrians waiting at the crosswalk. It is high time to step up enforcement; change speed limit, post police at crosswalks, add speed bumps, etc. Way too fast!

Good Stores

By @Reversationsguy |

If you are in Boulder, I would check out Pearl Street. It is very cute and has a lot of cool stores. Wish it had more stores and more restaurants but overall it’s a great place to go.

Great area to walk, shop and eat. So pretty!

By bcasey1 |

Lots of unique shops, places to eat and drink. We loved all the old buildings, and how they are used now. We were lucky to go when flowers were in full bloom all around us. From fruit tress to lots of tulips, daffodils and pansies. So colorful, especially with the background of snow capped mountains. There was a fresh market going on a few blocks over, too. Really pretty place to spend a few hours!

Always something going on

By lotsagoldens |

We stopped here this time because there was an art show. There is always something to see -- great place for people watching, a little shopping, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes. There are usually street performers who range from local kids playing their violins to carney magicians. Depending on your mood this can be festive or annoying. (Just sayin')

Awesome downtown area

By Martyn C |

Lovely part of the town which is a hive of activity from shopping, street performers, restaurants to just chilling out and enjoying the atmosphere.

Great place!

By Stacey S |

We were in Boulder to visit the campus, but spent a couple of hours at Pearl Street Mall. Lots of neat shops and restaurants. We enjoyed our time there. Parking is a little difficult, but otherwise, it was a beautiful day!

A very nice tiny street with a lot of well known marks.

By Jacques B |

Very pleasant and not crowded but it was not yet week end.
A few parkings not far. Restaurants and nice coffees all along the street.

Great touristy stroll

By staledale |

Yes it's touristy, but it's still a must do. Park your car, and just start walking up Pearl Street. Good and not so good street performers. Some small, local shops, but lots of major players too which is changing the vibe. Take your time, do some shopping, eat lunch, and support a street performer. Not a bad way to spend a few hours.

A Pig Named Elvis

By Jannal Redbud |

Pearl Street Walking Mall is absolutely beautiful! We met a gentleman and his pig named Elvis there. You can follow Elvis on Instagram @elvisofboulder
We also got to explore some really cool book stores. Also there is this awesome place called Liberty Puzzles that you should check out!

Now the one down side is if you sent staying near by parking is a pain. Other than that though this is a must do in Boulder!

Interesting for at least once

By George L |

It’s worth it when you are done hiking to come here for a cold drink and post-hike meal.
Some unique stores like the origins store with biorganic precious stones embedded in fossils.

Best place in town

By Ramona P |

Pedestrian area sprinkle with a variety of eclectic shops and nice restaurants. Not to be missed is definitely the best place in town.

Perfect afternoon stroll

By Always Find Adventure |

This walkway and shopping area is so pleasant. It's perfect to spend the afternoon here strolling the way, picking up some coffee and food, and doing a little shopping.

Veer off Pearl Street to See the Hotel Boulderado and Get Transported Back in Time

By fyiNYC |

When on Pearl Street, don’t miss gong a couple of blocks north to look at the lovely lobby of thr historic Hotel Boulderado . You can order a coffee from the takeaway area of the restaurant to enjoy while admiring the two-story space with a stained-glass ceiling. Look for the displays of historic artifacts. We didn’t stay here, but after seeing it, wish we had. On Pearl Street, be sure to visit the Boulder Book Store, Into The Wind (a kite store) and the Mountain Sun Pub and Brewery.

Not a great place for kids

By kayhall0717 |

As someone who used to live in Boulder and returned for business, I was SHOCKED at how unfortunate Pearl Street Mall has become. City Hall is a beautiful building and it is now just a homeless camp. There were strung out people everywhere. There were some who were yelling and scaring my 3 and 1 yr old children. It's a sad situation, but it is not somewhere I will be taking my kids again.

A wonderful colorful Street

By Anthony V |

Here is Boulders coolest street to enjoy your day people watching, shopping local, tasting various trendy eats, and looking at the enchanting views of the Rockies at the end of the street. If it’s sunny you will see many families enjoying the open mall and see kids playing on the many sculptures that line the street. If your visiting Boulder this is the street to hit for local coffee shops, local art, restaurants, and banking. Very family friendly and hip in the evening.

What's not to like?

By JTr |

Tuesday afternoon in November - sunny and warm - one side of the street was in the shadows and cool - not many people, only one musician - good day for a walk and a good place if one has to be in Boulder.

Good times and shopping

By K F |

A great outdoor mall, North Face Patagonia, H&H, you name it they got it. Some nice Restaurants and bars.

Quaint downtown with lots of options for food and drink.

By kristinn901 |

We walked through mall in the middle of the after and wish I was hungry. There were at least a dozen places I would have ate at. Only my son was hungry and he enjoyed the organic sandwich shop. I took a bite and it was great. My daughter enjoyed a thrift shop and we all enjoyed the coffee shops.

So many eclectic,locally owned shops!

We loved the Pearl Street mall. We were traveling with an energetic 5 year old and this was a great place to visit after spending the day hiking in the Rockies or anywhere else. Great treasures to bring back home abound, as well as diverse, locally owned boutiques. If you love the outdoors and yoga and wellness, you’ll see a lot of your favorite brands have a shop on Pearl Street - such as Prana, Patagonia, and Free People. In addition, you’ll see dispensaries, home decor, jewelry, art, yoga studios, spas and so much more. Not to mention and abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, pastry and ice cream shops, micro breweries, and more. There’s so much for everyone and anyone.

The Ultimate Boulder Experience

By Garvp175 |

Over the years, Pearl Street has come and gone. It is at its top form now. Plenty of street performers, great shops, plenty of diversity in restaurants make it a great stroll through the walking mall. Plenty of play stations for the kids nd plenty of art work for the adults.

Great time

We always enjoy pearl street. So much to do. Plenty of great places to eat and drink. So many shops. Beautiful flowers decorate the streets. Live entertainment as well. A must place to go

Cool experience and vibes

Had no clue about this place when we got to Boulder. Went to eat and then decided to explore and really nice area. Great for window shopping and just feeling the vibes of Boulder. Lots of food options and entertainment on the full walk

Boulder’s Outdoor Pedestrian Mall.

By jamesdarcilyn |

One part shopping, one part local experience, walking Pearl Street exposes you to street performers, social causes and general life in Boulder. Located near the CU Boulder campus, Pearl Street defines the downtown area of Boulder. Wall and window shop while listening to musicians perform until you are hungry enough to choose from a multitude of restaurants and bars. Thursday through Saturday nights are notoriously busy and flooded with a college-type energy. Good for families and kids seeking to stretch their legs, the mall also has sculptures and play areas for young ones. A little something for everyone. Enjoy.

Great place to walk and shop / browse and eat.

By kathyp686 |

A large portion of Pearl street is walking only so it makes it very nice to stroll at your own pace. The Mall is clean and very inviting. In January there are few tourists so it was really quite nice to be there. I wish I’d had more time here. Great variety of shops!

Don't miss it!

By Susan H |

No visit to Boulder would be complete without stopping at this place. There are great restaurants and shops, actual boulders for kids to climb atop, fountains that little ones can dance through! In October all the businesses pass out treats to those in costume around Halloween. Just a delightful place to go!

A little of everything

By Terri M |

I walked to this shopping center and was pleasantly surprised with the unique stores. It wasn't the typical same retail establishments. Lots of good places to eat and drink also!

New and Closed Stores

By SonomaNut |

Lots of change in business. Some new some gone. Just wander along and see for yourself. Lots of new places have replaced the Camera Newspaper building. Try tacos.

Love shopping and a casual stroll

By 442vickir |

Pearl Street Mall is a great place to casually stroll while hopping in and out of a variety of stores. Many local businesses and one of a kind options for buying. These local stores are interspersed with chain stores, like Athleta but most of what you will find are one of a kind items.

All seasons are great for a visit. Spring has tulips blooming in abundance, and winter decorations are beautiful. In the summer there is usually a sidewalk event happening that can be enjoyed.

There are many great local restaurants to stop for a lunch or dinner break. On warm days it is wonderful to dine outside.

As these streets are blocked for wandering down the middle, you need to look for parking garages for your car.

Take your time and look around.

No to exciting

By whatadude |

Walking down Pearl Street was listed as a must do when in Boulder. It was a nice area but it was a Thursday evening around 6:30pm and almost all the shops were closed. The restaurants were open but had wait times of 45 minutes to an hour. It was kinda boring.

Such fun walking and enjoying the shops and food of Boulder!

By Sgs8960 |

Pearl Street is such a wonderful experience. The shops and the dining choices are top notch. We had a wonderful time

Happy place in America's happiest city

By BolderBob |

Strolling along the Pearl Street Mall is fun anytime of year. Winters, there are holiday lights. Summer the flowers are blooming in planters. Daytime you see little kids hoping about on the various play areas - bronze frogs, a bridge over an imaginary stream strewn with rocks, a water sculpture that elicits giggles and screams on a hot summers' eve. Searching for dinner? The Pearl Street Mall is awash in choices from craft beer and pizza to sushi and saki. A wide selection of locally owned shopping mixes with national name brand retailers. Best suggestions: visit a local coffee house for an Americano, visit Into The Wind toy shop and let your inner child run wild, shop at Peppercorn, the ultimate kitchen home store and then wind down with a helping Italian pasta from Local's fave Pasta Jays.

Check out Fair Trade Winds

By mer105 |

When walking the Pearl St. Mall, went in the store Fair Trade Winds. Wonderful variety of affordable gifts from around the world. Found adorable children’s toys and beautiful ceramic plate made in the W Bank. Young cashier was lovely and very helpful. Will be checking for these stores whenever I travel to other cities.

Fun shopping and browsing

By shaher1 |

Some unique stores with local artists and themes. Near good restaurants and easy parking in the area. Nice holiday decorations.

Great place for shopping and dining

By johnsJ2948XA |

While in Boulder stopping by the open air downtown street mall is a must see and do. Lots of neat shops to find gifts, clothing, local art, and people watching. Many restaurants to choose from including German cuisine, pub food, or hanging out to watch sports. It is a place where you can spend a few hours and have a very enjoyable time.

Stroll the Pearl Away

By Jagi55025 |

What an enjoyable area to leisurely stroll away an afternoon. It’s historic, eclectic, and lined with many...many interesting, affordable, and select shops. Restaurants and bars are plentiful as well. Definitely a great location for young and old.

Lovely strolls

By Karina5683 |

The streets were in brick and you could stroll into many shops and restaurants. Magicians and musicians, ice cream, and we even got to see a live band. We had to go back a second time. The best time is midafternoon to evening. We had lunch one day and dinner another day. Both times were full of things to do. Parking was easy and a few lots with very reasonable parking.

Center of the action

By Perry G |

Stroll along the mall and stop in many of the shops and restaurants. While there are many outdoor stores selling the latest in clothing for the active outdoors person, there are many unique local stores catering to the many interests. There are so many options on where to eat and drink. No visit to Boulder is complete without spending time on Pearl Street Mall

Pearl Street!!!

By Lisa S |

I never heard of it before until my son took me there while I was visiting him. I loved it! So many different shops. It's all closed to traffic and have places to sit and relax along the way. This is a great way to spend an afternoon! I will visit again next time I'm in the Boulder area.

Great Place to Walk and Windowshop

By deward070882 |

Our family comes here at least 2x a year. Great place to stroll, get fresh air (if you don’t mind the occasional smell of pot smoke), shop, and get great food. Wonderful selection of specialty and eclectic shops.

Interesting People Watching

By JCW703 |

This is a pedestrian mall in downtown Boulder with many tourist oriented shops (and some eclectic local ones as well). It's worth a visit just to see the folks that mill around down there.

Good for Eating and People Watching

By Greg H |

Had a couple of hours to spare on a recent business trip to Bolder. Pearl Street was suggested as a place to visit, so on a warm Autumn day, what the heck.
Most touristy places have a similar setup of eating places and shops with various offerings to entice the flow of $ from buyers pockets to sellers cash registers. This place was just the same albeit a lot larger in scope and size.

Near by CU Bolder students were out on full force this sunny day and were obviously enjoying themselves. An odd scent tinted the air, recognized by anyone who wasn’t raised in a cloistered environment. Oh, to be young and carefree again, if only I could; not today.

Plenty of places to eat and most appeared to be doing very good business, so I assume they offered good food that appealed to the masses.

The shops I visited had nice offerings, but far over priced compared to the exact same items I can purchase in the Midwest for a fraction of the price. These merchants must have been too close to some of the students milling about the street and experienced an accidental contact high when they were pricing their offerings for sale. I saw a nice hand made men’s wallet, with a price tag of $8,000.; really? This is a nice area but Rodeo Drive, it isn’t .

Probably a good place to visit if you like to people watch and get something to eat, but if you’re looking for specific merchandise, shop elsewhere, unless you’ve got an unlimited budget.

Most Famous Street in Boulder

By Samar Jade T |

A definite must see for any tourist or incoming resident to be in Boulder!

The street is pretty lively most of the time with activities from art displays to live music performances.

And the ships range from sports gear, equipment and clothing, bookstores, dispensaries, home appliances, food and beverages to spas and holistic healing venues!

Neat shopping and dinning aread

By RoyalsKCSporting |

Lots to view, shop and eat! Our small family of 5 spent an hour walking the street and eating ice cream.

A nice walk around place

By Kat L |

My adult children and I spent a little time walking around enjoying the afternoon and pleasant weather in an easy spot to access and stroll.

Very uncrowded compared to past visits, which made strolling even nicer. We enjoyed different musicians as we passed them, and the flowers were all lovely. Popped in to a couple of stores to take a look...

Before leaving, we had hotdogs and visited with the vendor for a bit - a treat. I had the polish sausage and a bite of my son's elk brat. Go for the elk!

Beware pickpockets

By Smirzie |

I was just there this past weekend. On Saturday evening, we paused for a minute near a street performer who was balancing on top of a stack of 5-6 chairs. He kept talking and prolonging the time before he actually completed the handstand trick, encouraging the standing audience to clap to a rhythm and put their hands in the air. Meanwhile, a smelly guy with dreds would creep up behind groups of people and stand very close for a few seconds, and then move on to stand close behind others. I saw him with a couple of cell phones he did not have a few minutes earlier. The performer on top of the chairs was clearly able to see what this guy was doing from his vantage point, which made us think that he probably works with this pickpocketer! I was disappointed to see this type of operation since I loved hiking the Flatiron trails and then coming to Pearl St for a meal and a stroll.

Love this place!

By Sonluvr |

This is the cutest place! There were tables/booths set up all along the pedestrian mall, selling everything from crafts to soap to food and more. Street performers did their thing too. It was just a fabulous way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon!

Casual Evening Walk

The heart of Boulder

Pearl Street Mall is the downtown and the heart of Boulder. Very pleasant for a walk with family, dining, shopping.

Fun lively area of Boulder

By travelteamej2 |

Enjoyed Pearl Street, but wish we would have had more time to explore. Great area for casually strolling. Really liked the store Peppercorns and wish we had one back home. Lots of bars, restaurants, and stores. Should be able to find something for everyone.

Parking is a NIGHTMARE here...

By o2bcre8ive |

But the experience is worth the frustration. So much activity here on weeknights and weekends. Open air dining spots, shops, and places to grab a drink. The crowd is friendly, not overly loud, and not distracting to any of the locations. There are some cute shops on the walk, including Trident Booksellers and a stationery store named Two Hands. Next to Two Hands is a great little pizza place with delicious pies and outdoor tables/chairs. Definitely take a couple of hours down on Pearl Street to check things out. It's an eclectic mix in an eclectic; yet, friendly and fun town atmosphere.

Lovely pedestrian shopping street

By Mid-Kate |

I was expecting a covered mall, but was pleasantly surprised with shops lining a pedestrianised street instead. There were lovely boutique shops as well as some chains. Lots of restaurants.
Nice landscaping and benches to sit.

Cool area

By Heather K |

Pearl street is a cool area to walk around and shop, eat and drink. There is a wide variety of stores but my only complaint is that the stores don't stay open very late during the week. Perhaps they do during the summer? Boulder has definitely made it a happening and desirable place to be. I really like that part of the area is closed off to cars so you can really enjoy it. I also really like that many of the restaurants and bars have outdoor seating. There are some nice photo opps for the mountains behind the cool buildings, especially at sunset.

Cute but SO busy !

By RMc179 |

It's a cute shopping area with unique businesses and kitschy photo ops. Parking can be a struggle, but read the signs - some lots are free after certain times in the day. We avoided the eating establishments because it can be very pricey in such a touristy area.

A must see when in town.

By Cdalton |

It's the center and heart of boulder.... nice shops. Great restaurants and no cars! I love Christmas shopping here... no anchor stores is refreshing, but they're coming as the rents skyrocket. See it while it's still unique.

Many places for outdoor eating + people watching

By Rose C |

Fun atmosphere. We ate here at night then returned the next day to go in the many shops and people watch. We saw several street performers: guitar, violin and bongo players and a high rise unicycle juggler. Would return repeatedly if we lived in the area due to the huge variety of quality restaurants and all have some outdoor seating, best for enjoying Boulder’s awesome weather and for the people watching. It’d be a great place for a date.

So many great shops and restaurants!

By Ginger G |

While in Boulder, I visited Pearl Street Mall twice. The first time, window shopping, but I was lured into a pizza joint that was GREAT (Can't remember the name of it...but is was NY style and sold by the slice.) The second trip was a quest for the most perfect souvenir t-shirt. There were lots to choose from. There is a great mix of upscale shops and moderate price. A few interesting looking coffee/tea shops, lots of desserts, and a great mix of food choices. There were live musicians and lots of folks milling about. A great place to spend 1-3 hours.

Great selection of shops and eateries - a great vibe!

By domino_college |

We were first-time visitors to Pearl Street and didn't know what to expect but were pleasantly surprised. A very clean, very nice pedestrian mall awaited us and it was full of nice shops that you actually might buy something from, LOL. No real oddball clothing or weird gift places, all were very straightforward places with interesting merchandise. From inexpensive to VERY expensive, there was shopping for all types of people. Great food options too - some of the best pizza and ice cream that I've had in quite a while. Lots of seating, trees, and places for the kids to play too. I really enjoyed it.

For Easy Strolling and Material Diversions

Fun place to stroll with restaurants, gift stores, and more gift stores. The Boulder Bookstore is an above average place that one hopes will go one for generations. It's an easy stroll to and from UC. Fun place to see!

A sight to see

By Laura R |

Pearl Street mall delivers with shops and restaurants, and a few street performers and good people watching. Grab a Colorado souvenir and take in the flavor of Boulder.

Fun

By Susan h |

What a great street to get a feel for Boulder! With lots of small businesses along this pedestrian boulevard, its a wonderful place to shop, eat, stroll and people watch. We spent many days and hours here each day we were in Boulder.

Every visit to Boulder should have a stop at the Pearl Street Mall.

By crunch6 |

There are always street performers on this Mall with no cars. Peruse all of the wonderful retail stores up and down the Mall, or try a variety of restaurants from all nationalities. A perfect place to spend a large part of your day.

Relaxing Stroll

By Suzanne S |

This is a very cute outdoor mall that has a little bit of everything. The local shops were fun to explore and the people were friendly. The restaurants were excellent and their were many to choose from. We especially enjoyed the outdoor dinning with snow on the ground and nice outdoor heaters to create a special atmosphere to observe the tourists and street performers.

Lovely casual shopping street

By Judith A |

Perfect place for window shopping, people watching and restaurant choosing. My favorite venue was the Boulder book store but many were worth a second glance.

Nice to walk around but nothing special

By tp0ps |

I don't understand why it is called a mall, as it is just a collection of shops on a street. It's enjoyable to walk up and down, the flowers are pretty, but the shops aren't special.

The best place to see in Boulder

I have loved Pearl Street since I was a little kid. There are so many fun shops to explore and the street performers and art are so pleasant as well. I always bring guests here and I go often as a local as well.

This was a great stop for us on our trip to boulder. Lots of places to walk around and grab a bite to eat.

nice shops & restaurants. music too!

By NewEnglandGal |

pearl st mall was one of the few places in colorado that wasn't crawling with homeless. it was my experience that there is a desperate homeless challenge in colorado and i'm not sure why. it was a relief to get away from the sadness and stress of being chased by the mentally ill in denver or seeing poor souls panhandling on street corners in colorado springs. for whatever reason, boulder seemed less affected by this issue. pearl street mall was pretty, there were flowers, nice restaurants, beautiful shops, and music being played in the street. colorado...do something to lend a hand to your homeless, your mentally ill, and esp your homeless veterans.

Girls Trip

By Phylzone |

What a beautiful area to walk and people watch. The Tulips were stunning. The guy street performer with a ladder was hysterical. The crowd loved him. We spent a leisure stroll had lunch and shopped.

Fun evening

By Suzanne S |

Beautiful town! Enjoyed shopping for (tourist) gifts along the mall. Street entertainers and a wide variety of restaurants to choose from.

Becoing less "local" and more commercial

By mdresearcher |

My husband and I have been coming here for years (10+). Pearl is becoming less and less local vendors and more and more commercial. Favorite store and bars have closed shop after 20+ years because of big business influences. Still worth seeing if you have never been there, but not as fun as it use to be.

Loved it!

By ovolacto |

The Mall is loaded with good value shopping of all kind, but especially dining. You can anything from cheap eats, to more expensive fair. There are lots of good dining choices, especially for vegetarians and vegans. I loved the record store. We went in December when many of the college students were home for the holidays, so the crowds were smaller, and the experience better. It's a really nice mall. Yeah, we saw some homeless people, but they stayed to themselves, and didn't bother anyone.

Lots of businesses not open

By Jennifer M |

Not really sure why but there were a lot of business closed and didn’t open till Wednesday. If this was a known thing - we would have definitely rethought the day we chose to go.

Dandy, charming, walking street

By SkykomishBob |

Do not miss the chance to stroll PSM. There are a couple of good galleries. The Peppercorn is the best independent cooking equipment store anywhere. There's a puzzle store near the east end that does only jig-cut wooden puzzles that are wonderful.

I attend an annual conference in Boulder, and I have learned to plan an extra day just to cruise downtown.

Amazing 'main street'

Lovely buildings, all very pretty and the area very clean - nice to stroll through and check out the shops which are mainly small independents. Plenty of places to eat and drink outside, there is a great atmosphere, lively without being loud.

Heart of Boulder

By aleepur |

Pearl Street really shines in the summer. Buskers are every where, events happen on the lawn in front of the court house, and the farmer's market/Boulder creek are close by. This is a main shopping area outside of 29th street (which has more of the standard shops) and has many smaller stores. Also, there are great restaurants all up and down. There's free parking in the parking structures on Saturday and free every where on Sunday. Also, several times a year there are events (especially arts) in tents down the middle. Pearl Street Mall itself is car free but the cross streets are not (and so you need to be a bit careful crossing, especially the main Broadway). [We have lived here for years and it's fun except for maybe the coldest, snowiest days. Stop in at Peppercorn which is a shop for cookware and tableware and the map store next door which have been around forever.]

Very Unique and Fun

What a great place to shop. Make sure and stop at Liberty Puzzles and Into the Wind. We spend over an hour in both shops.

Best pedestrian zone in Colorado

Over the years Pearl Street has evolved. One of the best things they did was to add a parking garage at the eastern end.

Every season brings a different vibe to the area - and all are thoroughly enjoyable. I walk up and down Pearl Street everytime I visit Boulder

The Best Mall

Pearl St Mall has a wide variety of excellent and interesting stores and restaurants and services within walking distance. There are street entertainers, food and merchandise carts and a super Visitor Center.

Great vibe!

By Backpacker |

I really liked the Pearl Street Mall, and was surprised, as I don't really like shopping areas meant for tourists. But this street had a great vibe! And it had a good variety of stores and restaurants (not all richy!).

Just stores

By Kelly H |

The best thing about this place is that there are no cars to worry about. But it's just a bunch of overpriced shops. A few are novel and that was an unexpected surprise.

Must see

By contradancer |

This is the center of downtown, filled with shops and restaurants. My favorite was Liberty Puzzles. I can't afford a $100+ puzzle, but I sure did enjoy finishing one corner of one.

Fun Atmosphere

By Cyle |

Pearl Street offers places to eat including ice cream shops and shopping of all sorts. We visited during the evening hours and found several street performers set up.

Quiescent Boulder City

By Reign68 |

The weather was perfect 75 degrees. Clear skies and not too hot to enjoy Pearl St. Me and my family walked around and it wasn’t crowded. Admired the small shops , lights and ambience of a quiet small town . The trees were already on the last color changes still it was a great place to visit.

Eclectic pedestrian mall with shops, restaurants, bars, street performers, etc. - great fun

By interceptpubs |

We stopped here on a Sunday afternoon - there was quite a crowd enjoying all of the action. Parking can be a problem, but we found a spot only two or three blocks away so not too bad. Besides eating/drinking or even shopping (books, art, clothes - there are many interesting shops here), there's always people watching - one of our favorite activities, and being Boulder, there are plenty of interesting characters to observe in their natural habitat. Never a dull moment here, that's for sure.

Wonderful

By RaquelC20 |

Had a great time shopping at several retailers. Convenient location and many places to choose from for dinning.

Art show weekend

By Glenda E |

My second visit, a first for the rest of the family. There were less street performers than my previous visit due to the Art Show. The Art Show was large and some very talented artists had displays but we were disappointed that we didn't see more street performers. It rained during our visit so we cut it short. It was crowded with the display tents and difficult to see the lovely statues. I think I would avoid a Art Show weekend in the future but it depends on what you enjoy.

Shop til you drop!

By girlcat |

Went here on a Sunday before heading to Estes Park, which worked out well as well got adjusted to the altitude in steps. Amazing shops, nice eateries. It was St. Patrick's Day so they had a bike parade go through and a parade of students with chairs used as instruments, in addition to street performers. Thoroughly enjoyed spending the afternoon (and lots of money) here!

Fun walking space with eclectic shopping

By Ken D |

If you have time in Boulder, stop here to walk around and just take in the ambiance of the Pearl Street walking mall. No cars on Pearl Street. There some really cool shops and good eateries along the way. Parking can cost a couple bucks, but not something to take away the enjoyment of the visit. One hint, be aware of the guy in the trees, I haven't seen him recently, but in the past....

Super cute “mall”, artists around, great stores!

By Lauren S |

We were looking for something to do in Boulder, and found this recommendation on Trip Advisor. It was definitely worth our time! We had such a nice day walking along the shops, checking out the unique finds, and enjoying the scenery. You can see the mountains in the background and it is just beautiful. The area in inclusive and friendly! We would definitely go back!

This pedestrian only area is very quaint with beautiful landscaping. The shops are all proprietor-owned rather than being part of chains, adding to the charm. Shops include clothing, jewelry, books, puzzles, coffee shops, juice bars and just about anything else. You can stroll up and down the mall and window shop in a pleasant atmosphere.

Great Area for Shopping/Dining/Relaxing

By mrandmrsdavis2015 |

I visited the Pearl Street Mall and was astounded with how many shops there were - it just kept going and going! I loved that there were so many non-chain retailers so you get a more curated feel. The City does an amazing job maintaining the common areas and there were thousands of gorgeous tulips opening when I visited. Don't forget the shops down the streets too, I had lunch from Zoe Ma Ma's and it was FABULOUS!

If you can't find something to eat or buy here, you're just too picky! Pearl Street is very long with lots of options for both restaurants and shops, and in a certain radius, the "mall" part is closed to traffic. Great people watching here too.

Pearl Street has a wide pedestrian section, full of fun restaurants and retailers. Beautiful flowers are thoughtfully planted throughout. There is a happy and vibrant vibe about the district. Sure, it is touristy, but it also would appeal to residents. Go, stroll, and enjoy!

Tulips in the Spring, beer festivals in the Fall

Built in the early 1970's. this quirky pedestrian mall helped to put Boulder on the map. Quaint shops line the streets where one can buy everything from amazing kites to vintage maps to fine cookware. Pubs, restaurants and other gathering places can fill your afternoons and evenings. A stay at the Hotel Boulderado can complete this trip through time.

Have visited Pearl Street Mall many times over the last few decades. Was one of my favorite places on Earth. My trip there in September 2021 will likely be my last. Although the business owners were came in contact with were great people, the mall itself has become dingy. dirty even. And rainbows have been painted permanently everywhere, ruining the ambiance the place once had. I get the pride thing, but someone over did it in the extreme here and it just looks tacky. Panhandlers are aggressive, and sometimes poop in the mall. But there are signs up saying you can't walk your dog on the mall, that was the last straw. I'll keep my fond memories of Boulder / Pearl Street Mall past. You can have the new "modern" one.

A lasdt bastian of small shopping...

By Cdalton |

I love shopping here because it has actual functional stores and is the small experience.... no anchor stores at all (one starbucks) but... who's counting. SUper pretty, always decorated with flowers or lights depending... a must.

Saturday afternoon exploring

By gayle p |

We had a lovely walk down the Pearl Street Mall on Saturday. The stores are mostly high end regional brands, it was fun to poke around, and explore the mall. The tulips were in full bloom, the weather was warm and sunny. It was a great day to pop in to see what was new at several retailers. Love the wooden puzzle shop, and Peppercorns. We also were thankful for the clean public restrooms, and all the food and beverage al fresco experiences. Fun afternoon.

Better Than Expected

By David M. S |

Spacious, inviting, safe. Kid and pet friendly. You could spend all day here with ease. Shopping, Dining, Entertainment. Highest possible recommendation.

A Better Mall Experience!

By Henry’s Take |

“When in Boulder, do as the Boulderians do!”

While I can’t say that I’ve heard that expression while here, I like the sound of it (fact) and have initiated the trademark process to incorporate it under the “Henry’s Take” corporate umbrella (not true). 😉

While chatting it up with some of the locals we were encouraged to pay a visit to “The Mall” during our visit. While that recommendation initially lacked any appeal whatsoever, we discovered that the local definition of “mall” is totally different than how it is traditionally defined. Also known here as “The Bricks”, it offers much more than shopping opportunities including scenic views and quality street performers (including live music).

The people here exude an eccentric vibe as evidenced by the comment of someone who asked a passing Postal Carrier,
“Do you remember the plan? You were supposed to mail me to New Orleans!” 🤣

The locals also recommended that we walk through the historic “Boulderado Hotel” which is in the area (and worth the few extra steps to get there).

And that’s…Henry’s Take.

homeless on pearl street

By Excursion757417 |

We recently went to the Pearl Street Mall on a Saturday night to walk and enjoy the holiday lights. Scarily empty and many homeless encampments. One man wandering around gave me the creeps so badly I may not go there for quite a while. What a disappointment to see all this on the beautiful mall.

A good shopping mall

By Normieb41 |

This mall has a great choice of shops, coffee stops, and eateries.
There is a pedestrian area where you can sit and people watch as well as listen to street musicians. The pedestrian area also has a lot of beautiful floral displays, with an adjacent park.
A must to visit when in Boulder.

Nice pedesterian friendly mall

By Jim H |

The Pearl Street Mall is a 4-block section of Pearl Street that is restricted to pedestrians only - no vehicular traffic. The mall is well landscaped and is very pedestrian-friendly.

The mall is lined with restaurants and shops, many unique; many catering to Colorado themed or Colorado-made merchandise. The restaurants cater to a variety of tastes including vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free. There are also many more traditional restaurants and sandwich shops.

Double-check their website to be sure, but I think parking is free in the CITY-OWNED garages on weekends - but don't take my word for it.

Good choices for quality clothing and restaurants

By AVGTXN |

Monday. We walked end to end. Lots of high quality restaurants and trendy clothing stores. Glad to not see touristy T-shirt shops.

Beautiful street, but only stores for a specific audience

By Nathan_Stillings |

While visiting Colorado while on a business conference, my friends and I decided to explore Pearl Street in Boulder. It was a beautiful sunny November day and the walk was pretty, but was honestly a little disappointed with how specific of a market a vast majority of the store seemed to aim towards. Our exploration didn't last nearly as long as expected with all of the hype it got.

Great place to wander

By RealtorK |

Adorable street in Boulder with lots of quaint shops to explore. Great hillside backdrops for photo ops. Super pedestrian friendly. Made it really easy for our group of 8 to meander and keep everyone entertained. The panhandler that kept calling out to the crowd “Hey, excuse me, I need some attention” cracked us up!

Enjoyable afternoon outing.

By BK33458 |

Pleasant outdoor mall with a large variety of stores providing something for everyone. There are many small restaurants offering a variety of different cuisines. Benches and small gardens scattered throughout.

Must do in Boulder!

By Cohost.com |

Pearl Street is a must see...eat... shopping district in Boulder, Co. there are street attractions all the time from dancers, musicians to incredible magicians. You know we love a good farmers market, during the Summer months and into the Fall, Boulder has markets on Wednesdays + Saturdays.

great local shopping and brousing!

By december57 |

The local stores are spectacular. Lunch/dinner options plentiful along with dog friendly stores. Love it!!

Great Shopping

By Jenna Ramsey |

Pearl Street is a very unique destination. There are a variety of amazing restaurants, coffeeshoppes, pubs, and stores. These places are pricey, but most stores are worth the higher costs. Most places support sustainability, so I’m comfortable supporting them in return.

Beautiful Stroll in the early am

By Robyn S |

It was a little after 8am on a Saturday- hardly anyone was there and my 17 year old daughter and I enjoyed the art and gorgeous flowers as we sipped hot coffee in the chilly spring air on our way to the farmers market. A feast for the eyes even when empty, Pearl St Mall has beautifully decorated storefronts, museum-quality art installations and informative historic plaques that invite you to learn about Boulder’s history. If you don’t like crowds, go early on a Saturday morning and you will not be disappointed!

One of the Best Pedestrian Malls in the US

By boulderjeanne |

There is always something going on when you visit the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder. Interesting shops, restaurants, and entertainers. It has beautiful gardens in the growing seasons. If you like people watching, it's great for that as well. It's one of the best pedestrian malls in the US.

You do have to go if in Boulder, but curb your enthu

By 967ModernArt |

As someone else said, this is a pedestrian mall with stores, restaurants, and street performers. You get all of the good and bad that comes with that. To me, the best parts were good/really good food, good people watching, and generally just being among humans again. The retail stores were just ok, and many of them did not have Pre-Covid selection (or if they did, just not good selection). The street performers were also just ok (we’ve seen much better in other cities, but if it is your first time seeing street performers you’ll enjoy it just fine).

Great window shopping

By Life is a Journey |

Great window shopping and cute shops. There did seem to be quite a large population of homeless. Nice place to walk around and take in the mountains of Boulder.

Gorgeous in summer and at at Christmas

By Tommye F |

I love the mall in summer. And in winter. Stores are fewer since Covid (I miss Fresh Produce) but Peppercorn is always a delight. It's pretty and it's entertaining. Jugglers and all.

Interesting visit

By Janet B. |

Enjoyed the people watching and street performers. Don't have anything like this back home. The evening sky with clouds was stunning.

Quaint Village

By Lori D |

This was was a quaint little village within Boulder. The shop keepers were friendly. We were able to pick up some gifts. Parking is inexpensive too.

Love the atmosphere

By Zo-Han W |

Hard to capture this feeling in pictures, the only way is to walk through it in person. The street has this chill yet lively, full of stores yet a college town feeling with street food, rock sculptures, and lovely small shops. Will want to come back again.

Not the Pearl Street we fell in love with

By dkwill |

Hubby and I flew into Denver headed up to Estes Park, thought we would spend some time on Pearl Street. The first trip several years ago it was so beautiful, tulips planted and blooming. We parked in a self park area and commenced taking a stroll. We both were shocked at the homeless people in every block. It was around 11:00 am not many stores were open. People laying in the streets with blankets over their heads. Didn’t really feel safe, no one bothered us, but was not the Pearl Street we feel In love with. On the way back a black pickup stopped at the stop sign, a man opened his door and vomited, discussing. Unless the city cleans it up won’t be back. A shame.

Pearl Visit

By michael m |

Trendy place to shop and eat. Likes it because there was a lot of local type shops and eateries. maybe slate a couple of hours of shopping and walking. River near by with walking path as well.

Nice location

By Wanda K |

Nice unique shops. Check out the bookstore in the old building. There is a free bus that travels up and down this area so you don't have to walk so much.

Shopping

By Alyssa B |

Walked from Embassy suites. Nice walk and it was flat. Only about 20mins. Lots of shops and food. Only bad thing was shops all seemed to close early. This might have been because it was off season. But overall great spot for families and shopping.

Highly recommend

By dbru1989 |

So many shops and bookstores in pretty surroundings. Nicely done, Boulder. Also, people watching is fun!

Cool area to explore!

By TFabgirl |

There's a lot of shops scattered here and caters to everyone. High end boutiques along with your small, unique shop, outdoor shops of course and some souvenir shops as well. I even saw a hat shop! It is not your typical baseball cap shop, this one is custom order, think European hats....for men. This area is a good place to explore along with good restaurants.

Fun Place to Walk Around and Shop

By David V |

Easy walking, lots of shops of all types. I think there must be something for everyone on this outdoor pedestrian mall.

Overcrowded

By leuveen |

I'm not a fan of shopping malls, so perhaps this is not my cup of tea - the mall is terribly overcrowded and feels more like a tourist destination than a place created for the locals. There is a couple of great shops, cafes/restaurants but overall it's a rather poor experience. A pity as it has great potential!

Mother- adult daughter trip

By Kristine B |

Precious, quaint walking area with many great restaurants, unique stores. Very clean, cool vibe.Trip to get together with my adult, very adventurous daughters. Will come back.

Where are all the funky shops?

By ABQvolcanogirl |

It has been a few years since I’ve been to Pearl Street and last time I visited, there were several funky, local shops there. This visit was quite different with more art galleries, eateries, and high end shops. It was quite disappointing, as the mall lost its appeal for me.

An afternoon walk with family

By Carole B |

There are some amazing shops and restaurants on Pearl Street. The flower beds are lively with color and varieties of plants and flowers. Between 15th and 10th street, we found five playgrounds and critters to climb on. The six year old in our group gave it thumbs up!!!! There were a couple buskers performing to add to the ambiance of our walk. The roses are in bloom at the courthouse and worth coming down to see and smell. We had a roof top lunch and then ended our walk with awesome gelato and sorbet. What a lovely summer day.

Outdoor Pedestrian Mall

By David T |

Several blocks of a pedestrian mall, with numerous retail outlets. We were able to find a nearby parking garage.

Large homeless population

By Planner At Heart |

The mall has a great variety of shops and restaurants, and is located close to CU Boulder. Like another reviewer noted, Boulder is home to a thriving homeless population. I was told by a local that the homeless have been an ongoing problem, and at times there is a homeless camp in front of city hall, which I saw when I visited last summer. I don't plan to be back soon because it was not a relaxing experience. Golden and Arvada have similar setups with shops that felt much safer to me. With that being said, if you go with someone else and stay alert, you should be okay.

Good People Watching

By Thomas B |

This is a very eclectic place to visit. Always something interesting going on and lots of unusual, as well as regular stores and shops to visit make it a great place to stroll around any time of day or night.

A very quaint shopping experience

By CAK |

The mall has plenty of shops, food spots and galleries. We wandered for about 3 hours and found unique gifts, plus the requisite Boulder tee. Does not have a touristy vibe which made the shopping pleasant.

Beautiful

By Samantha M. |

We visited in spring, so there were tulips everywhere. Very nice area to just walk around and find a good spot to stop and eat.

Great Outdoor Pedestrian Mall

By swearengen |

Loved the Pearl Street Mall. We were staying a block away, and strolled over a few times to take in the festival they had going on, go in and out of shops, and to have dinner on our 2 nights there. I've seen a numbers of these in other cities, and this is one of the better ones for sure.

Fun shops, sounds, and sights

By yoandre79 |

Spent a nice afternoon on Pearl Street experiencing tourist Boulder. It was a nice way to spend some time.

Probably a nice area once

By Arlene L |

Just arrived in town for a couple of nights on our way to Rocky Mountain National Park and decided to go here per tripadvisor recommendation. It is an outdoor specialty shops and restaurants, as the other reviewer said, that can help you pass few hours. Shops closes early because of covid and some of them are either empty or not even open. I've been to Colorado Spring and Glenwood spring and haven't really saw any homeless or people asking for money till I came in this area. I'm from Chicago so I do understand this, I'm just surprised to see it here and not in other two tourist places. Most people are wearing mask and conscious of social distancing but of course there are few that choose not to and that goes to any other places anywhere. The restaurant that we went to, Pasta Jay's, are pretty good food wise and also in following the restriction, social distancing and sanitizing. Same with the Gelato place few doors down. Overall, I would still come here just to pass few hours of time.

Beautiful area with many shops and restaurants.

By Sue J |

There were play areas for children, wonderful shops, beautiful area. Parking was not too hard to find.

Check out all the unique shops!

By Susan C |

Our first time in Boulder and found Pearl Street Mall on the local map. Parking was easy with several local parking garages nearby (we stayed just over 4 hours and only $4.25). There were lots of different and unique shops to browse through and some of your basic local shops (North Face, etc.). Around lunch time the place really filled up with business folks getting lunch at restaurants and food trucks. It was a great place to explore.

A nice visit

By Shasta B |

The stores are on the expensive side but still very nice. We loved Volcom and the stores that sell Colorado shirts and hoodies. The Food court was awesome as well. Street performers and little courtyards for kids to play was nice.

Disappointment

By JAnd213 |

Pearl Street Mall was a huge disappointment as I expected to much apparently. Few stores, bars and restaurants. Nothing special in my opinion.

Shopping mall with the mountains in the background

By 10countriesin10yrs |

We went here a few times. They have tons of restaurants on this street and some cools shops. Make sure to eat at Snooze and Avanti (brand new). We enjoyed browsing a candy and toy store. They have tons of outdoor brands and there is also a store for socks. This is a good place to get your tourist souvenirs like shirts, mugs, or magnets. I enjoyed walking around and looking at the mountains peeping between the streets. It’s worth the visit.

Must visit!

By Marilyn Z |

Lots of unique shops, bars and restaurants. Right in the heart of the city. Pearl Street is a definite go-to if you're visiting Boulder.

Awesome place

By Jamie H |

Very cool place to stroll around and eat, drink and shop. Love the street performers. Clean and safe.

Such a relaxed vibe

By familyis4ever |

Business in this area cater to the pedestrian. Lots of outdoor seating and live performers. We found a quaint little bookshop and taco joint and thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

Must see destination

By linda b |

Beautiful pedestrian mall filled with gardens.and art and musicians.we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Riff’s! A great place to spend the day.

Charming street

By PiaoLars |

A small town centre, with artsy market on the street. A bit hard to find parking, but a nice stroll if you are nearby. Try to avoid the weekends if you can.

Nice place to walk around

By Cheryl S |

Lots of good deals and prices this week in all shops we went into. Sad because such a great area but definitely affected by COVID with less visitors . Store workers all friendly. We ate at several places there over past week and all were all so very good. So many options. Great place to go after a full day of hiking and biking!

Variety of shops, great people watching, street entertainers

By dmsyoung |

The Pearl Street Mall is a must see destination. There are shops and restaurants to suit any taste. We were there on a Wed early afternoon, and there was a duo on the mall - there are almost always buskers present, usually several at any given time on the weekends. There are climbing features for the kids, plenty of seating, and it's always interesting to visit.

A total experience for everyone!

By malleree |

Wonderful restaurants, great shopping for many unusual things, entertainment on the mall with various types of artists, beautiful place to walk, especially when the planters along the mall are in bloom. A fun day for all ages!

pearl street

By interviewtraveler |

There are lots of shops and restaurants on Pearl Street. I liked the portion that was closed to cars. For the kids, the large stone animals are fun to climb on. This time of year the tulips were blooming.

Pedestrian only area

By KK78 |

Nice pedestrian only area with lots of shops and restaurants. A few cool sculptures and monuments around too.

Plenty of everything

By Christina J |

The Pearl Street Mall in Boulder has everything from restaurants to retail. Beware the college kids-it’s Boulder!-and wait times at restaurants can be long. See if you can get your name on a list before you arrive. Parking can be tough too so if Uber or Lyft can work, go with it. Charming and cute with lots of higher priced shops, restaurants and bars.

Parking is terrible (to-go)

By AngieChan |

I was in town in the morning on business and stopped on a near-empty side street to grab a to-go order from a nearby restaurant that recently reopened, but no to-go parking had been established like I have seen in other cities. Five minutes later, I returned with my order and find TWO parking tickets on my car. I learned that the side street required a pass (I’ll give them that, I may have missed the sign) and we are not allowed to back into spots. (Where are we supposed to find the rules on how to park anyways if we are not residents?)

As much as I want to support the restaurants that need all the business they can get, I won’t fight with trying to find parking for to-go orders here because the city is clearly trying to squeeze cash out of visitors, and is not supporting their businesses during this difficult time.

Nice place for eating and shopping

By It's the Little Things |

Great restaurants and interesting shops. I loved going here when I visited Boulder, going on a Saturday is fun with street musicians and the local farmer market is only a couple of blocks away to add to an enjoyable experience.

Great shopping and people watching

By StacyInDC2012 |

Even on a Friday morning the Pearl Street mall was bustling with lots of people and great shopping options.

Definitely worth checking out if you are in Boulder!

Glad we went on Sunday (Free Parking)!

By 96Dreamer |

Got to Pearl Street early around 9:30am to find that most of the shops didn’t open until 11am, some opening at 10:00. So, we took our time walking around and “window shopping” until shops began to open. Liberty Puzzles was a neat little shop and we bought a puzzle there. Gelato Boy was pretty good. Musicians on the street provided good entertainment. Public restrooms were decent. For me, the best thing about the place was the free parking that day.

Hipster heaven

By NorForker AJM |

An excellent in-town pedestrian mall, with an abundance of restaurants, shops and galleries. We visited on a weekend and there was a Jewish cultural festival going on. The mall was packed with people, so if crowds overwhelm you, this may not be the place for you.

We stopped at Riffs for lunch, which is right on the mall. It's a great spot offering indoor and outdoor seating. Worth visiting.

As usual the spring flowers are spectacular

By WJD_CO |

It really is worth a walk on the interesting side, to stroll among the amazing flowers. So colorful, both the flowers and the people! We always enjoy the spring flower exhibits planted with care, and truly beautiful. Spring is finally here, and it is wonderful. We so appreciate the display Boulder puts on for this lovely walk.

Great shopping and pretty as well

By Laurel H |

Enjoyed all the different shops. A nice variety of boutique and well known stores. Many restaurants too!

Definitely worth a visit

By MKay |

Cool area with eclectic shops and restaurants closed off to car traffic. We were there on a chilly Saturday afternoon, so not very crowded. I imagine on warmer weekend days there are bigger crowds. There were lots of families, street entertainers, music.

Great area to do some shopping! Also great area to seat out for outside lunch! There is a lot of parking around the area . It cost 3.75 to park for 3 hours ..

Pearl Street Mall

By John L |

I have been going there since it opened in 1976. i never get tired of it. Tons of stores have come and gone and still do but that’s the way of Boulder. Have taken countless photographs of the mall, someday I will donate to some organization. Believe it or not I still enjoy walking there, favorite place to eat there is the Falefel restaurant, its pretty closeto what I ate in Greece and Israel. Spent a lot of time there in my. backpacking days in the 1970’s

Great pedestrian mall

By AndyB5542 |

We were passing through Boulder and wanted to shop a little and get some ice cream.

The Pearl Street mall has a lot of shops and restaurants. It’s also a great place to people watch.

There is parking available in paid ramps nearby.

By Paul G |

Really nice strolling area. Plenty of restaurants and shops for you to enjoy. We spend the afternoon walking the mall and enjoyed dinner after.

Touristy, but great for a stroll

By Kristine C |

The area is pretty and great for an evening stroll to watch some street performers or let your kids play in the water fountain. There are cute expensive shops lining the street. Ones you wouldn't normally shop at but are fun for looking. There are a number of restaurants though none our outstanding.

Shopping

By MegL510 |

Beautiful downtown pearl street, just very very expensive local shops. All the shops had beautiful stuff but not affordable to the average person.

It's a shopping plaza

By Kelly D |

It's a nice shopping plaza, with Buskers on the weekends. Lots of stores, some local, some national, not open to traffic or dogs.

Fun shops and a nice place for the kiddo to relax

By Kelsey H |

This is a nice spot to hang out and let our toddler run around in between grabbing coffee and breakfast and visiting shops.

Outdoor shopping experience!

By meem |

Exceptional variety of shops. Easy to navigate and parking was not a challenge but considering we visited during winter so it wasn’t as crowded. There are plenty of places to sit outside to rest. Dining is available too!

Beautiful & delicious tea

By OnAir533475 |

We made a quick stop here just to check it out. We ended up staying for tea. A delightful last stop before our daughter had to fly home.

Nice pedestrian mall with interesting shops and restaurants.

By Neil D |

Definitely worth a visit in beautiful downtown Boulder. Note- dogs not allowed (for some reason). Casual, relaxing and with some nice shops.

Nice for Strolling

By Chelsea42 |

There are some really nice shops along the mall and some decent cafes as well. A quick side trip leads over to the Boulderado Hotel,
a Boulder landmark.

Our kids (8-15 years) loved it!

By Tara D |

Fun place to stroll. The young kids loved all the statues and the older kids loved the shops. Adults loved the breweries. Definitely a must stop location while in town!

Great outdoor shopping place

By Elly |

This whole shopping area was a few blocks long. A lot of different shops, including some name brand companies. Tons of restaurants to choose from. Most have outdoor dining options as well. There are plenty of benches to sit if you need to. Two spots for public restrooms.

I would go back again!

Relaxing walk around Christmas

By Sujith I |

We shopped and eat at Hapa Sushi, was really good. Hot soup and Sushi on a cold day was awesome. They also have Pizza and Tea shops and several high end stores. I really got deals on Volcom sweat shirts too.

Very enjoyable

By Michael G |

Great walk able shopping and dining area really enjoyed people watching and browsing the shops. The big draw back is you have to pay to park. One would think the city of Boulder would have free parking to build this area and not be so money hungry. Would have stayed longer but had to watch the parking meter.

Nice Shopping

By mdnewman1 |

We went for lunch and some shopping and were successful on both, very nice pedestrian only outside mall, with lots of flowers and benches to people watch.

Interesting people watchin

By skhblh |

A lot of different stores and restaurants. Street entertainment was also fun. Would like to spend more time there!

I love shopping and I hate indoor malls. This is a great outdoor mall offering some unique shops mixed with chains Starbucks, Free People and Urban Outfitters, also some artsy stores with local crafts, cool jewelry. There are plenty of bars and restaurants, sidewalk cafes ice cream etc...

must visit

This is a place where you will for sure find great restaurants (small and large) and shopping, it is really good. Mixture of local and brand name stores, something for everyone's taste and same goes for wide range of ethnic and classic restaurants.

Fun and a good walk.

We went on a Sunday, early afternoon. Just about everything was open. It was a good walk after being cooped up in an airplane and rental car for 3 hours. Take a stroll. Find something good to eat. Buy yourself a gift.

Friendly outdoor mall

A great outdoor mall full of small shops and restaurants, mustly locals and a few chains such as Columbia, North Face and Paragonia. Great to visit and get souvenirs but little pricy for my opinion.

Many restaurants, shops

The downtown is very well kept with lots of choices for food. Floral potted plant arrangements add to a quaint look. We wandered in and out of places to shop.

Interesting place to walk

By Tim_the_Enchanter417 |

First time and first stop in Boulder. Heard that Pearl Street was a novel place to go. I'd call it eclectic with very random street entertainers and Save the Planet callers. I almost felt guilty drinking from a water bottle, but I did refill it, escaping their wrath.
Be sure to hydrate because it's very dry. Lots of shops and food to see and enjoy. Nice and shady all day.
