Pompano Beach Taxi doesn't go anymore and has apparently been suspended for years... Why on earth doesn't Tripadvisor write this in BIG letters??

By travelfromIndiana |

We had a wonderful relaxing day with Captain Cris and first mate Marc. We started at the lighthouse. Along the way we were given history of the area and interesting facts. We were on the intercoastal waterway for about four delightful hours. We liked this tour better than the Fort Lauderdale taxi tour.

My Mom and I were recently on vacation in Lauderdale-by-the-sea, carless and looking for a way to take in the sites of the surrounding area. A quick search turned up the Pompano Beach Water Taxi. We had a beautiful day and a fun and informative trip through the Intercoastal waterway. Captain Chris and First Mate Marc were both personable and very knowledgeable. And the price can't be beat. Bring along friends, food, and beverages to ratchet up the fun. Guys.... get your brochures out there!!! Highly recommend.

Excellent service! Pleasant activity to discover the region:) plan about 1h30 trip between Pompano and Las Olas.

We took the water taxi today at noon until 4 pm. It took us north pompano and then to ft lauderdale. The driver was funny and had lots of information about the area. And stopped for people to get breaks for drinks food etc. It was very reasonably priced and I enjoyed it very much. Saw quite a few dream or lotto homes along the way too. Thanks. Suzanne

A friend in Pompano Beach arranged transportation with the Water Taxi as a means to get to our dinner reservations at the 15th Street Fisheries. Little did we know what was in store! To begin with, the views of the waterside properties was eye popping, but even better was the staff! There was lively commentary provided by the staff along the journey. We were particularly lucky, as we encountered porpoises along the way! The staff held the boat while we waited for a porpoise to reveal itself. We truly enjoyed the journey as the staff engaged with the passengers. There are beverages on board along the way as well should you need to wet your whistle. Take this in if you have the chance while in Pompano Beach!

I have been using the water taxi for decades, and have never failed to be happy with this service, the crew give you a running commentary ( some funnier than others) if you have elderly or disabled people with you they always help you on and off.

We got on the water taxi to get around, when the boat show was in town, while we were on vacation.. What a great way to get around. Our captain was Eric who was such a wealth of information and so personable which made the ride more than we ever could've expected and Attila his first mate was charming. Great experience!

By lfsmith500 |

It a fun and inexpensive way to get on the water...and the captains are GREAT! Very informative and fun to be around

By Peg |

What an amazing trip this is ! A four hour cruise with such historical information given by Captain Chris and Lauren. THIS TRIP IS A MUST. $16.00 per person~you simply cannot beat this value.

Pompano Beach Water Taxi is a wonderful addition to the Intracostal Waterway. The Crew are friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Its a great way to discover Pompano Beach. You can get on and get off to visit some great restaurants and pubs!

I took the south tour today with my dad who’s on vacation from PR and my son. Captain Cris and his mate Ken were very inviting when we arrived. The captain answered all of my dads questions during the tour and even let us know when to be prepared to take pictures of the sunset. We weren’t intending on going North, but the Captain took us to the Light Pompano Beach Light House and my dad was able to get some really good pictures. My dad really enjoyed himself and is planning on bringing my mom when they are back in town!

Thanks Captain Cris and Mate Ken for an amazing experience!

By delicasea |

We got on the Water Taxi at Hillsboro Inlet Park it arrived on time the captain Cris and the mate Tavian we're very cordial. As we started our ride Tavian gave us a wealth of knowledge, who lived where, whose house it used to be and lots of information on our four hour ride South and North on the Intracoastal stopping at numerous restaurants. We would highly recommend this Water Taxi. Definitely will take friends and family next time.

By Kdf56 |

My friends and I had a great time aboard the Island Girl Saturday evening. Captain Chris and his mate Mark made our trip so much fun. The information shared, music played and laughs made it a terrific time. Thanks Captain Chris and Mark for making this evening so memorable. We highly recommend this service!

We recently rode the new Pompano Beach Water Taxi. It was a pleasant day. We boarded near our condo, rode to the southern terminus in Fort Lauderdale, then up to Lighthouse Point for a two-hour lunch and then back to the condo. The whole experience took about 6 hours.

It was interesting to see the various mansions along the waterway as well as the Hillsboro Inlet lighthouse. The captains and crew were competent and gracious. Jack on the way down and Drew on the way back provided an interesting commentary. We learned some history of the waterway that we didn't know before.

Great day!

The Pompano Beach Water Taxi is one way to enjoy views. The Pompano inlet is the starting point. Note that the parking is metered.

By JesHa |

Cris & Ben were the best!!!! They showed us the sights and even let us choose the music. We had a great time and will definitely do this again!!!

By Ivette C |

Our experience with Pompano Beach Water Taxi was awesome! Bert and his crew gave us excellent service and very knowledgeable of the area. They informed us of a new restaurant called Beach House (great food and service). After returning back to Pompano Beach Water Taxi after dinner, the crew continued to educate us about the immaculate homes and famous people along their route. We had pictures taken by the crew and a great night on the intercoastal. Will return in the future. Thanks Pompano Beach Water Taxi.

By Liveitup10 |

Great way to see Pompano Beach via the ICW. If getting on at Alsdorf park, stand by the corner on the cement, so they will see you. We waited at the boat ramp and they sailed by us. (the signage is not so clear) We called and they immediately turned around. The captain and first mate on both boats were very knowledgeable and friendly. An inexpensive way to spend a couple hours or more. We chose this over the Fort Lauderdale taxi in order to stay away from the spring break and cruise crowds and so glad we did. You can bring snacks and drinks on board, which is nice as well.

By Annmarie |

I had the best time on the Pompano Beach Water Taxi! The captain Cris was awesome and made sure to let me know where the best spots were to catch the sunset as we headed north up the inlet!

The view and the atmosphere was perfect in every way and I’ve already recommended it to a few of my friends. I definitely plan on going back!

By CharlesO |

Recommend this water taxi as a way to get a taste of the north Fort Lauderdale beach and the area was impressive

By Paula K |

This is a nice and less expensive way to travel for the whole family while seeing the sites around this area. I would suggest going during the week because seating can be very crowded on weekends. It beats trying to park in Las Olas for sure!

By Claire S |

My son and I were looking for something to do, and we went on the water taxi. Very relaxing way to spend some time on the water.

By Jean N |

Beware when purchasing tickets on site from their website. You sign up, pay and do not receive the tickets electronically, not directly from the site or in email. Then you try to get reimbursed and they literally sent me an email saying I should have “read the small print”, stating that there are no refunds. I was on site, went to their website, put my info in and got nothing out of it.

By Mary Jane M |

The captain just ignored us and wouldn't pick us up. We were on time, in the designated spot with tickets we pre-purchased in advance. What a disappointment.

By Alison B |

The guy and the first mate who was on our tour was amazing, the driver had so much knowledge and explained everything and explained who house was whos on the intercostal, and even told us that it was the international boat show

By Rymerglass |

We wanted to eat at Bokampers Sports Bar and Grill several miles to our south, but we also wanted to avoid the traffic congestion along A1A. Pompano Beach Water Taxi to the rescue! What a blast! Motoring along the Intracoastal Waterway brings a whole new perspective to sightseeing in Pompano Beach. We gawked at millionaires’ mansions and yachts at the northern end of the loop, snapped photos of the Lighthouse at Hillsboro Inlet, while admiring the restaurants, resorts, and parks all along the way to the southern end of the taxi’s loop which just happens to be Bokampers. Neat, huh? Even better, after our yummy meal, we grabbed the next water taxi heading north, except that now it was after dark, and the landscape along the Waterway had changed from the stunning sunset colors of the earlier taxi ride to all twinkling lights and watery reflections of the moonlit night. Our pilots and their crew members were professional yet easy to talk to, full of good information, and went out of their way to be helpful. A boat ride to remember!

By dive7mmwet |

Capt. Chris picked us up with a group and we headed north, seeing spots we had missed on our boat trips, later the other group left and we crusied southbound until it's furthest point! The views priceless, plenty of stops if needed for a potty break! Or get refreshments. Best yet you can bring your own along and make it a wonderful eaving! Capt. Chris stopped by a fuel dock and we were able to get a bottle of champagne! A wonderful eaving! And price well worth every penny! 5 star service!

By Bridgetpianos |

Bad Bad Bac I waited at the Indian mound stop for over an hour !!!I called and he said today they are not stopping here go to another stop. I was very disappointed and think it is a horrible way to run a business

By ATB6162_ |

I was there when the "International Boat Show" was in town, so we took the Taxi from Stop 6 (Scott Winter's Memorial Park) to Stop 12 (BoKampers) and then we got a taxi to the boat show. It was amazing time and our Captain Eric and His First Mate Attila were amazing. A great overall. When we go back, Ill tottally do it again

By Sage Sheep |

Great way to see the area and get from place to place. We went over the holidays though and it was super crowded!

By Rich and Mary H |

Very informative. Nice captains and first mates. Answer any and all questions. Had a great ride. Enjoyed the music too.

By Sun156 |

It always is a great experience! We moved a few years ago and that’s what we do with most of our visitors. The day is filled with a fun activity

By judybL9246NI |

A must do if you visit. Best location to get on is at Sands Harbor Hotel. What a blast. It's like a mini tour and the guide has lots of interesting facts about the area. Stop off for a drink and get back on later.

By Mjohara1 |

Pompano water taxi never disappoints. Terrific way to spend a day! Anyone would enjoy this wonderful ride.

By GirlSGM |

Their website said their not open because of COVID-19. Suppose to open back up in November. Sad I didn't get to check it out.

By Marsha E |

Cris and Mark were very informative. Gives good feel of the Intracoastal in Pompano and Ft Lauderdale

By Lisa M |

Cristian and Lauren were the most personable and attentive crew and they gave me an amazing tour of the inter coastal waterway. I highly recommend getting on the water taxi with them!

By Ace J |

You can board the two water taxi boats at various locations along the waterway, from Fort Lauderdale up to the Nautidog Restaurant near the Hillsboro Lighthouse. For $22 ($16 for seniors) you can get off anywhere and then reboard in two hours. The entire passage up and down lasts four hours, and it is a wonderful trip. Captain Ben and his able mate Mark will regale you with colorful tales about the many mansions and their owners. One of their boats is covered and has a bathroom; the other boat is open and stops for restroom breaks. There are 15 minute stops where you can exit and shop or buy a drink. We saw manatees and a sea turtle along the route. This is a beautiful, restful way to see the entire Pompano- Lauderdale area.

By CrazFox |

We decided to try this, it was fun, informative and helped us find lots of places to go we most likely would never have considered from the street side. We wound up going all the way to the last stop headed South. I can recommend Bokampers sports bar.

By David D |

We sought out Pompano Beach Water Taxi for a nice relaxing Saturday on the Intracoastal Waterway. Stop and get a little lunch...and see the area sites and attractions from the water. The ticketing page on their website states "Hop on hop off, tickets good for all day"

When we got on the first boat at Reyka Memorial Park (stop #7) around noon...I specifically asked the captain "We can ride ALL DAY...up and back...right?". His response was "Absolutely!...ride it all the way up, and back...hop-on and hop-off...the boats run about every two hours".

We took the initial boat down to Bokamper's (stop #12) to get some lunch....so far, so good. After we were done, we got on the next boat that was supposed to loop up to the Lighthouse Point area and Nauti Dog (stops #1 and #2) thinking we would take the posted route and see all the stops that were listed on their website....and then back to our original stop, where we parked.

As the other boat was pulling away from the dock at Bokamper's, we were told that the initial boat was not running anymore today...and that this boat would only be going as far back as stop #7 (our original stop). I guess I should be appreciative that we got back to our original stop, and did not have to pay an additional Uber cost to get from stops #8 to #11...to where we originally parked.

I sort of felt like this was a "bait-and-switch" situation. Their posted operating hours on their website are 12PM to 10PM...this is stated on the rolling banner that runs at the top of their web page! When we got on the first boat (a few hours earlier), the captain assured me, we could "ride all the way up, and back". They had no problem billing my credit card for the full fare ($66.00 for three people) five minutes after I got on the initial boat. But they offered NO discounts for their shortened service on the second boat, and cancelling the projected routes that were listed on their website.

After reading their glowing reviews on TripAdvisor (which I checked before we drove an HOUR to Pompano Beach)...this is an issue that I felt had to be mentioned. I would absolutely be able to understand if it was stormy, or bad conditions. See the attached pics, it was partly cloudy...in the 70's on the temps...and calm water. But at that point, if they decided to cut half the routes for the day...they should pro-rate what was already charged for the incomplete service.

This is NOT cool...and I wouldn't want this to happen to other unsuspecting patrons or groups in the future.

By retiree88 |

Used the water taxi to go from the Sands Harbor to Bokamper for a birthday celebration. We did not know that you could bring your own drinks (beer, wine, alcohol) on board and that there was a cooler to keep it cold. On the way back - we did!! It was a fun relaxing ride and the operator gave a little sight seeing information. Will do it again!

By Kathy K |

We were so pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable this water taxi was. While on the ferry, our guide provided many facts and tidbits about the sights, the homes along the water, the magnificent yachts, along with the ability to get on an off over and over. A fantastic way to spend an entire day floating, learning, shopping, dining, etc. etc. Will absolutely put this on the To Do list for a future visit.

By Sharon H |

We did the full tour and so glad we did. Marc was super friendly and an excellent tour guide - we learned so much about the area. We have been to this area from Canada many times but this was our first waiter taxi tour. We will do it again The next time we come to this area. Highly recommend it!

By kansasphotogal |

We spent one afternoon on the taxi with Captain Cris and Mate Harry, both great guys. They tell you about homes and other things along the way. There are lots of stops were you can get off and grab a drink or depart if you want. If you look at the schedule you can get back on later as you ticket is good for the day. Much better than being out in the crazy traffic.

By Dream561621 |

11/11/2021 We walked to water taxi. Got there and followed instructions posted by calling for information. Was told by person who answered, the water taxi was indeed running and would be at Stop #9 in approximately 30-45 mins max. The taxi never showed up after waiting an hour and half. Not sure why we were told it was running. Time wasted. Wish we were told the truth. We are still trying to figure out why we were misguided!

By jude52 |

Best thing to do to get a real look at the inter coastal. Had a blast. Got off and visited a restaurant and then a couple of hours later got back on and headed to drop off spot.

By eileen k |

My friends and I had the best time ever on this scenic ride from Pompano Beach to Ft. Lauderdale. Captain Chris and deckhand Mark were informative and enjoyable too. We danced with great music on our return trip and enjoyed the sights and sounds of Florida’s Intercostal. Highly recommended 😃

By Kelly P |

Chris was our captain & Marc was the first mate. We were only going to do a quick hop on-hop off to our next destination, but ended up doing the full 4 hour round trip. The crew were amazing. They were friendly, entertaining & made us feel like we were on our own personal tour. We would recommend this taxi to anyone looking to spend some time on the water & hit up a few restaurants/bars along the Intracoastal. Great time had by all!

By Paul W |

Captain Chris and Mate Ken we’re friendly, helpful, and informative. We took the four tour and loved the views, the history, and the peacefulness of the trip. I would do this trip again.

By dctourguide |

This is a hop-on, hop-off all day (10 am-10pm) deal you should not miss. There are 12 or 13 stops on the Fort Lauderdale one, and $5 valet parking adjacent to the dock. The captain and 1 tour guide provide narration as you proceed along the intercoastal, viewing the homes of millionaires and billionaires and learn how they made their money. One stop is at The Galleria, an upscale shopping mall; another is at the downtown area where there are restaurants and shops, and one is at The Fisheries, a seafood haven. We used it for about 7 hours and felt we’d had a great day. You can board at any of the stops, and it is all well-organized and orchestrated.

By Laurence G |

Just spent 4 wonderful hours traveling with Captain Chris and First Mate Ken up and down the Intercoastal waterway. They pointed out so many points of interest. The best way to spend an inexpensive afternoon.

By Lynda D |

I was very pleasantly surprised by this gem of a water taxi. Fun and factual information provided by guide on the ferry. Well worth every penny.

By erodrig26 |

This was a very good way see all of the mansions along the waterway and to get to Hollywood. The crew provides a lot of information about the area.

By Beth |

Had a fantastic afternoon kn the pompano Beach water taxi! Great crew! lots of fun, laughs, and all around great time!!

By Don H |

For an easily affordable fee we had an exceptional four hour tour of the Intracoastal Waterway from Lighthouse Point to Fort Lauderdale and back with refreshment stops along the way. Can't beat the value. Captain Cris was a wonderful and informative guide as well as a capable sailor. By all means...take this boat ride.

By rawman61 |

It was nice to do. It gave us an overall look at the intercostal waterway. I recommend it as a do thing while you are there.

By Lisa G |

Its an Uber by boat. You can go to as many or as little stops as you want. Fits everyone needs. I would do this again and on every trip to lauderdale

By kaytlynnhulsey |

Recently took the taxi on a late evening, being on the water way going to your favorite bar at night with all the lights is b.e.a.u.t.i.f.u.l !! Best part is you don't have to take a cab home. you just get on your boat and they take you where you need to go!
The crew was FANTASTIC!! so nice and gave a lot of information on the area! Being a tourist this is my way to get around!
The day i go home is the day i will Miss my water taxi crew!! Thank you so much for making my vacation wonderful!

By Sarah W |

My hisnabd and I spent 5-ish hours riding the 2 water taxis through thr whole route. Biggy & Smalls (real names, no idea) were a fun pair with a lot of information for the first part of our tour. They even stopped near the lighthouse to take pics of passengers.
Since the price includes all day fare, you can get on and off at sifferent locations all day. This does NOT replace an Uber/taxi, so don't use it for speedy travel. And pay attention to when the next water taxi arrives at any location. The drivers were good about letting us know when the next would be back.
Nauti Dawg was a delicious place to stop for food.

By Richard K |

My wife and I spent a pleasant afternoon riding the water taxi on the intercoastal. We ended up at the lighthouse stop at the north end and had a fine meal. We had the water taxi essentially all to ourselves!

By susanfern |

Today we traveled the Intracoastal waterway on the new Pompano Beach Water Taxi. Very relaxing way to see the Hillsborough Lighthouse, Hillsborough Inlet, numerous spectacular mansions and restaurants. We live close to a couple of stops so were able to walk to where the taxi stopped. However, there is parking available at many of the stops. Did part of the route for about one and a half hours and then got off, walked a short distance to a restaurant and reboarded two hours later to do the rest of the route. Although there is no head aboard, there are several stops where there is time to use a restroom and possibley get a beverage. This attraction is in the very early stages of operation. The owner, who was on the boat with us, hopes to expand by having deals with restaurant. We did the entire circuit which took about 4 hours. Highly recommend.

By Robin and roxanne |

My sister and I took a ride on the Water Taxi yesterday beautiful view very nice ride Chris and Ken we're extremely inviting and kind gave us a lot of information about the wonderful beautiful properties in the area it was such a pleasant trip that I would definitely do that all over again cannot beat the price highly recommended

By Ted D |

1/16/20. My wife and I had a very enjoyable experience on the Pompano beach water taxie. Captain Chris and mate Harry were real regular guys. They did a great job of explaining and pointing out the high lights along the route. TED and Lisa

By Glen Householder |

Jump on and off at multiple stops. A great way to introduce yourself to the area and see what the area has to offer

By DEBSrockport |

Don't let the name of this attraction deceive you: it's a water taxi but it's also a great way to see the ICW by boat. There are several locations where you can get on. There are two boats that travel north and then south. It's two hours each way. You can stay on for both loops. Captain Ben narrates the tour one way and you can learn many interesting facts and stories. View millionaire's mansions, get the latest scoop on what's going on, and see boats of all sizes cruising by. You are welcome to bring food and drink or you can get off and buy it. One boat is open and one is closed with glass windows. It's fun and reasonably priced with a discount for seniors and Pompano Beach residents.

By Jean R |

Captain Chris and First Mate Harry were welcoming. We enjoyed learning about the homes along the intercostal. We were a mixed group from age 6 to 75 and all enjoyed it very much. Highly recommended.

By NII C |

I really enjoyed taking my relatives around this old yet newly built up Pompano Beach. The beach water front homes are what you see on TV shows its a wonderful ride,. You can get on and get back on which is great. Pay attention to the Schedule and dont get cause when the water taxi ends. The better WATER TAXI are on Los Olas blvd ft Lauderdale More sites to see and better place to eat sight see and the Water Taxi stay open past 8pm est.

By waniaschmitz |

We took the water taxi around 4pm and did the whole tour. We were lucky that Captain Bob and his assistant Dakarei who has a very nice voice - made the tour very enjoyable, entertaining, fun and still very safe. You could feel that all the passengers had fun. Thank you so much!

By kayak01 |

We totally enjoyed the water taxi for a day while in Pompano Beach. Senior pricing of $16 / per person is a bargain. Meet the taxi at one of the many stops and you can get on and off for the day. We enjoyed Captain Bob and Mark on one part of our journey - very knowledgeable of the area and homes on the canal. The after dinner taxi had Captain Chris and Ken who were also very pleasant to travel with. Great way to meet folks and have fun conversations for the day - stop in local establishments for a drink to bring back on the boat (rest stops every 1 hr) or stop for dinner and get picked up 2 hrs. later. Clean, safe boat ride. Highly recommended - the best way to view a community is by water! You are also welcome to bring your own cooler / snacks on the boat. A win-win all around!

By PF$ |

The water taxi picked me up right at the condo I was staying at. Captain Cris and Deckhand Mark were so nice. I went on Tuesday 06/04/19 and there were only 2 other people when I got on. They talked about all the sites and gave some history on the way. Great experience and I would highly recommend it! Thanks for a great day Cris & Mark!

By Rachael S |

My husband and I spent a wonderful day riding the water taxi through Pompano. The captains and mates were nice, friendly and very informative pointing out important sites along the way. Will definitely ride again!!!

By Morene d |

The trip was a very nice experience with a very kind crew. Chris and the captain are very nice guys! We recommend this trip full of information about the great area of Fort Lauderdale.

By denny381 |

Had a nice 2 hour round trip exploring the sites along the inland waterways. Also spend a short time on the open ocean just offshore. Captain was eager to point out sites and maneuvered to allow sunset photo's over the waterway.

By Andrea G |

I called today 8/24/2022. Operations have been suspended since COVID. Bummer, looked fun. I think the Ft Lauderdale water taxi is running.

By M Clark |

Storms began dampening our plans on our second day of vacation so I was on the hunt for something that would keep my recent graduate's interest and get us on the water. Scattered storms and plenty of clouds were keeping us off the beach. The covered water taxi was exactly what we needed! Captain Bob and Chris were excellent guides and friendly conversationalists. They were very knowledgeable about different homes and businesses we passed and also gave us quiet times to take it all in or snap pictures. There are two stops along the way to use the restroom or grab a drink or quick to-go bite to eat. We ended up being the only two rides of the day and it was perfect. Rain or shine, I think this is a fabulous use of time and extremely affordable. $22/person and I was able to purchase the tickets online. It runs from 10am-10pm so you can ride it as long or as little as you'd like, just note that it takes four hours for it to come back to pick you up if you get off at a stop along the way.

By PamGibbes |

Chris and Jack were AWESOME! You must take this trip. Lots of fun, great narrative and the captain and first mate are THE BEST.

By Vacation43250943160 |

Ross and Zack were amazing host in our pompano area water tax tour. Very friendly, funny and knowledgable throughout the entire tour.

By Bonnie K |

Cris and Lauren are the best guides on this terrific visual and informative trip on the Intracoastal. His relaxed, interesting style gave the group such good facts, history, and tidbits! We so enjoyed the commentary and the ride!
Please give it a try!

By dblbuck |

Great way to see the area. 10 stops get on and off where you want and catch another boat later. You can get a $3 discount card from your resort. Your receipt allows you discounts from area merchants along the route. We were on a double decker taxi that had a bar and music. Creates a fun environment.

By 10toesinthesand |

Love being able to travel the intracoastal by water taxi. Took it twice in as many weeks. One trip was north to "Nauti Dawgs" Marina and one was south to "Bokampers". The Captains are well informed about the area the boat travels thru and are always on the lookout for marine life, making each trip fun and relaxing. Shoutout to two of our favorites, Jonathon & Jeff! They have been standouts in the way they handle the boats and the patrons. They even offer coolers to keep your beverages cold (you can bring your own on board as they don't sell anything).

A few ideas I'd like to put in their suggestion box would be to offer a three month and/or a six month riders pass. Not all residents want a yearly pass. It would also be great to see them extend their route. Extending from Deerfield to Fort Lauderdale would definitely add to the experience.

Looking forward to our next taxi ride!

By BillBHS1967 |

We had a wonderful time on the water taxi.
It takes in the sights north of FT Lauderdale.
We have taken the FT Lauderdale taxi many times so we were happy to see another part of Florida by water.
Great Captain with a wealth of history of what we were passing. Would recommend this for your next stay in the FT Lauderdale area.
Good way to travel to the many restaurants along the route.
Both taxis meet up at Shooters if you are interesting in transferring taxis.

By 372larry |

Was there last week and had a great ride but came back later to ride at night and found they were closed by 8 p.m...very disappointed!

By Freedom622055 |

We started our trip right by our hotel (picked up across street). The Captain on the way down was pleasant and pointed out some interesting homes along the way to talk about. After lunch we caught the open boat for the 3 PM trip north. The Captian and mate were great! We decided to take the boat to Cap's Place which is the last stop. Rain was moving in and the Captain was concerned about us getting wet so he got us to Cap's a bit early. Before he let us off he wanted to make sure we could get in and wouldn't leave til we assured him we were all set. We waved to tell him we were all set and he left. Moments later it started raining and didn't stop. After we got into the restaurant (soaked) the owner got a call from the Captain and handed us the phone. The Captian called to tell us the boats were shutting down because of the weather but he was willing to make a special trip get us and take us back to the hotel after we ate. We assured him we were all set but his call impressed us very much. Will definitely use this sevice next time we are in Pompano. The extra mile and pleasant conversation were worth every penny.

By V Lamanna |

Long overdue. Pompano needs a water taxi unfortunately the future patrons don’t realize it yet Hopefully the funding of this project continues.

By Teresa B |

The taxi is a sightseeing tour of the homes, restaurants, and businesses on the New River inter coastal. Smallish boats, one enclosed, the other just with a cover, both have seating. The round trip is 4 hours, but you may get on/off as often as the pick-up schedule allows, maybe 2-3 places, including lunch. You can easily make the tour shorter by selecting a loop to view, then getting off where you got on. It connects to the Ft. Lauderdale water taxi at one end for those who want to buy a ticket for that trip. The scenery is 90% homes and ginormous mansions, 8% restaurants, 2% businesses, such as boat storage and yacht makers. The crew will describe the more interesting places and stories as you ride along. Very sedentary, yet difficult for anyone with problems walking/climbing to join.

By Susan H |

This is a really fun way to spend time on the water. Tickets are good for the day allowing passengers to hop on and off as they wish. The staff is friendly and entertaining. The only negative I saw was that the boat is somewhat hard to board, which may prevent some people from being able to ride it.

By bicoastaldonna |

Great deal for the $$$$. You can get on at Pompaneo connect to Ft Lauderdale,go to Galleria mall, get back on go to Las Olas,or down to theatre center. And get back on and come home. Or transfer and go all way to Miami. Captains usually are great tour guides.

The PB Water Taxi was great! Chris did a wonderful job pointing out points of interest and telling about each. Chris was so informative. Chris had a great delivery and made the Water Taxi ride even better. The boat was clean and nice. Our lunch at Bokamper's was delicious. Great to get a free drink because of Water Taxi. I highly recommend. We will definitely do again!

Anyone who hasn’t been able to travel by water up and down the beautiful inter coastal needs to take this taxi!! It is a great and inexpensive way to take in all the beautiful scenes and be able to hop off and on, is a bonus. Chris and Ken provided such a welcoming and knowledgeable trip I urge you to try it.

The Pompano Water Taxi is great. It's not expensive, and it's an awesome way to relax and see the area. You can bring your on food and drink, which I recommend! Bring some beers and food for lunch or a sunset cruise!
They have two boats - on hat is covered, and one that is open. We went on the open one; it was too beautiful of a day to be inside!
It was very hard to get on and off the boat in my wheelchair, but the captains helped me, which was so nice of them.
We got on at stop 8, Sands Harbor and went north, doing a loop that took two hours. At one point, we turned off the intracoastal waterway to head out towards the sea to the lighthouse. It was beautiful!
I would give them 5 stars if they were wheelchair accessible. Note: The Fort Lauderdale water taxi is slightly easier to get on and off, but not completely accessible.

Captain Chris and deckhand Mark provided the most outstanding service along with the most scenic tour and friendly banter. Thanks for making our evening wonderful and worry free.
