Port Canaveral Pier

By tom m |

We live in the area, cruise out of this Port, eat at the different restaurants at the Port and spend a lot of time at the Port! However we have never yet ever seen the Port Canaveral Pier and honestly there isn't one.

Carnival cruise

By Joe H |

I think this was the quickest I have ever got on a cruise ship. Also, this was the earliest I have ever gotten off of a cruise ship when we got back. Great job. Keep it up.

Basic cruise terminal

By CRPD908 |

Used cruise terminal to board Carnival Magic. Terminal pretty standard. Staff was friendly. Interior of terminal pretty basic, not noteworthy at all. Serves its purpose.

If your cruising it’s a great day

By Miike2000 |

So many choices of cruise line, the port is beautiful, clean and friendly, there is not much in the way off coffee shops around terminal 2 and 3 but up at terminal 1 some great places on the waters edge to watch the ships go past and or rockets launching.

easy access let the fun begin

We cruise on the Norwegian Epic out of Port Canaveral, out shuttle driver took us right to the door of the ship everything went very well. This is a great place to cruise out of.

Very organized

By Sandseeker_60 |

We sailed out of Port Canaveral on a cruise. I was amazed at how smoothly so many people were moved with security being as tight as it was. Well laid out and organized.

Everything in one place!

Watch the cruise ships, eat at good port side restaurants, watch the rockets launch or land, walk the beach, shop the shops, and have great views at the tower or anywhere. Close to so much more too.

Best Cruise Port!

By ccassady2018 |

Convenient and easy to use. The staff at the port are very friendly and move passengers through the lines fast and easy. My family and I have cruised from Port Canaveral 10 plus times and never had an issue. We do however, usually leave our car parked at the hotel and use the hotel shuttle service to avoid the traffic and parking cost at the port.

Beware of Carnival Cruise Lines

By kensterj |

Just returned from a cruise with my family. Two of my children have very severe food allergies. We took the extra steps of notifying Carnival of the allergies before leaving and with each and every meal. Carnival showed my kids a menu each day for the next days meal with the intent to prepare them a meal that met their allergy needs. Although they did this the chef and kitchen served them meals multiple times they were critically allergic too.

Luckily we noticed cheese parcels just as my daughter was about to place the food into her mouth; the other time we caught the kitchens careless treatment of their food before they tried to eat it. Their stew ups caused meals time to range between 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Management on the ship didn't think this was a big deal as they didn't apologize for the multiple mishaps. If my kids ate the food they most definitely would have been in a critical state as their allergy levels are well above the spectrum of meeting the definition of severe food allergy.

Upon returning we called the Corporate office and they too took a casual approach saying 'Don't expect anyone from Management to call you about this". They truly left me with the feeling they could care less of the safety of my children as it relates to them being able to have a safe meal on the boat

Disney cruise

By Ryan H |

This was an amazing experience from the min you get in board till the min you get off the atmosphere and the attention to detail is awesome. Things for every age kids to adults to do, the rooms were huge and well maintained and the food was amazing. All events and ports of call were very well organized and information was always flowing

Fantastic place for tourists and locals

By tliamhowts |

If you live in Florida you have visitors and we take all of ours to Port Canaveral, why? because of the great restaurants; watching the Cruise ships set sail; going fishing on a party boat; visiting Exploration Tower to learn the about history, the flora, wild life and viewing the Space Center; watching a rocket launch; spending day at beach at Jetty Park. Port Canaveral isn't just for ships its for the whole family.

Last 4 times 5 star this last trip Zero stars

By BrianB32931 |

I have cruised in and out of Port Canaveral 5 times most have been perfect but something happened this last time that has soured the experience and my expectations. Upon getting off the boat I noticed 5 customs windows open so got in later but we found that 3 of the 5 lines had been "Given" to the porters so the only way to get out in less than an hour was to pay the porters to carry our one suitcase (4 day cruise) out.

On to the cruise

By temptraveler |

This terminal was amazing, we were boarding for the Oasis of the Seas. It has a possible capacity of 5000-6000 people, and for what I saw, it was very smooth. Yes the lines are very intimidating, however they move rather quickly. And there is a Ladies and Men’s room half way to the Cruise terminal.

Nice place to watch the ships.

By Robert L |

This is a great place to watch the cruise ships go out around 5pm. Everyday but Tuesday. You can sit and watch or have a picnic. Come a little early though. Everyone comes down around that time.

Pay attention to your GPS!. Parking almost connected to Carnival terminal

By FrugalSocialite |

I see it, I see it, but where is it? One missed turn on my GPS and I found myself in a little restaurant and fishing nook at the Port. I saw the ship but couldn't get over there! Obviously it is a regular occurrence because as soon as I rolled my window down, the local guy asked me if I was trying to get over to the ship, LOL. The parking garage was almost connected to the Carnival terminal. It looked as though there was also a garage a little further down, which required more of a walk. I did not want to miss the buffet!. Therefore, I did not have the time nor inclination to walk in 87 degree heat. For a 3-day cruise, I paid $68 to park. The one disappointment was no military discount. In Miami and Fort Lauderdale, the military discount was about 70% off their regular parking rate. Keep that in mind if you are military and will cruise out of those ports. That rate makes it much cheaper than taking a shuttle. Just drive the car. The only military discount offered at Port Canaveral is for a particular type of disabled military personnel and they want a copy of the DD214. Who has that in their beach bag on the way to a cruise? Any kind of discounts for the cruise have already been done before boarding. Also, in any other Caribbean Port of Call, you cannot whip out a DD214 to get a discount at a non-American port. At Port Canaveral, a Military ID Card is worth nothing. At any rate, it is convenient parking and an efficient entry onto the ship.

Port Canaveral is the easiest and most convenient place to take a cruise out of. This is our third time using the terminal and would recommend it highly!

Thanksgiving Cruise on Princess Cruise Lines

By Gary D |

The drive to Port Canaveral is about 4 hours for us but ship boarding is about 1:00 PM so it is a leisurely morning drive. We park at the Park N Go for cruisers. There is also a Park N Go for the airport. You can usually park for about $8.00/day if you reserve and pay early. They handle the bags, drive you to the ship and are prompt about picking you up when you return. The Port Canaveral boarding experience was quick and easy due to the Princess pre-boarding Application for smart phones. If you have your boarding pass completed then you are issued a key fob which is used the whole cruise. It opens your stateroom door and it checks you in all over the ship including the dining rooms. Checking in and boarding was very quick, exiting the ship did not go smoothly because the first gangway was too steep and had to be moved. That caused some minor backups because hundreds of passengers in line to depart had to quickly move to a new door. Over all that was the only issue I had with the port and I suspect Princess will make sure that problem is not repeated.

Great spot to see cruiseships pass!

By David H |

Great selection of bars and restaurants from which to enjoy the view of the port. An exceptional treat is to be at a bar or restaurant when the cruiseships leave around 4 to 6 pm. Better yet is when there is a launch from the Space Center which could be at anytime day or night!

Cape Canaveral Transit

By BarbinMN |

This is about Mike at Cape Canaveral Transit. He has by far the best shuttle service service we have used in our travels. He kept in constant contact, making sure he had flight numbers, and making sure we knew where and when to meet; very little wait time at all. On our return from the cruise, he was in contact first thing, making sure we knew again, where to meet and when he'd be there. Went out of his way to drop us where our Turo car was being dropped off. I highly recommend Cape Canaveral Transit.

Nice port.

By mnytalks1 |

We ported out of here on our RCL cruise. The parking garage was nice, however, I think $145 for a week is a little excessive. The process however was quick in and out.

VERY PUSHY TIP-DEMANDING EMPLOYEES!!!!

By Nurse A |

They did to do something about the PUSHY tip-demanding employees that get your bags after unloading from car!!!...some are VERY insistent that you give them a tip and won't leave you alone until you do!!!...i was going to tip as always but I ever get a pushy employee like this again then I will tip NOTHING!!!

Havana !!!!!

By Nothreeputts |

Hi gang,
As a party of 8 we chose the Majesty of the Seas for a cruise to Key West and an overnighter in Havana. The ship is definitely smaller (2,500 pass (2,100 Americans) and 850 crew. Last RCCL cruises for us have been on the Allure and Oasis (of the Seas), sporting 5,200 pass and 1,800 crew. A few worn carpeted areas in the business center but overall the ship looked great !! You can see it’s age in the metal corrosion around the outside decks but the inside is beautiful. We chose Suite #1038 and had enuff to offer us. Welcoming fruit plate and champagne at the waiting when we got there.
I recall the Haven on Norwegian Cruise Line Getaway seemed more appointed but for first-class passengers but Majesty was good enuff. Our room attendant was considerate and thoughtful but I feel was short on passion for his work. Some of the Butler/Concierge requests on the Getaway had more enthusiasm.
Windjammer buffet was average, but filling. We ate at the Starlight main dining room. Portions were limited but more than sufficient overall. Good service and good food. Thank you Roseann and assistant waiter Oleksandra. One night my wife paid $29.50 +tax =$34.50 ($&#$@) for broiled lobster (nightly special) and it didn’t want to come way from the shell. A disappoint in presentation and to then have RCCL tack on an 18%surcharge !!! Whereas on our last dinner seating they had steamed lobster (no xtra fees) and even I ordered and loved it !!
Singer in “A Chorus Line” theater was good but uninspiring. Other than that, there wasn’t much in the way of professional entertainment venue.
It was kinda nice being on a smaller ship, less crowds, easy mobility. Casino less than entertaining to me, machines too close together, bumping chairs constantly.
Suite and above passengers have free drinks in the Viking Lounge from 4:30-9:30 nightly, stronger than normal alcohol (as t should be) than normal bar/dining room drinks.
Priority embarkation/debarkation for suites. Biggest complaint was loud noises coming from the 11th deck (Windjammer Buffet) territory and disturbing to the guests in the suites. I heard from passengers in the 1080’s cabins that they too were disturbed.
Not good. Musta been a graveyard shift rodeo of some kind....
Beds comfortable, shower/tub good, shower curtain shoulda been a foot longer to keep water from being splashed out on the back side, petty, but I wouldn’t have had to clean it up.
I recommend the Majesty O’ Seas to all, suites are great, others say balcony cabins are nice, too.

Unprofessional

By ChristineHaig |

We are very disappointed with the service on our last visit for our cruise May 5th. The wait was ridiculous as we waited over and hour and half to get to a shuttle. Your very rude female staff member who allowed numerous people who arrived after us to get on the shuttle before us and then had the nerves to tell us we could get on the shuttle if two of the four people in our party would stand during transportation. We reluctantly agreed and the when we got on the bus she demanded that I get out of the seat for a party that arrived after us. Clearly I was upset by this and removed myself and my party for you bus and opted to wait for the next one. This staff member then stopped the next bus at the opposite end of where they were loading and placed us at the end of the line for that bus. She then continued to talk back to me when I stated this was not fair and we would not use you company again. Very unprofessional, rude, disrespectful, and down right ugly behavior. We have used your services before and we pay well to park their. We do not deserve to be treated in this manner. We cruise 5 to 6 times a year form this port and due to this poor behavior we will no longer park their.

First time to cruise

By Melissa H |

The port was so easy to navigate and was very quick. We went on our first cruise ever, we chose Carnival Liberty. It was amazing! Staff at port and on the ship were all very helpful.

Fantastic!!!

By taragoldenChicago |

My family and I celebrated my daughter's sweet 16th birthday this past weekend on Carnival Liberty 10/18-10/21 and it was a fun time!!! The check-in was quick & smooth and staff was friendly as always. The overall maintenance of the ship was good. The staff works non-stop around the clock making sure the guest needs are met. Absolutely loved our cruise director Donkey- the voice from above, he was very personable with the guest and knows how to have a good time!! Had the best time at the farewell party on our last night of our cruise, which happened to be my daughter's birthday. Our room attendant(Karim), wait staff in the Golden dining room were amazing too. I've been on many cruises, and this by far was my favorite. The entertainment was some of the best compared to other ships; nightly comedy shows (Azeem) for kids and adults, piano bar, casino, game room, library and the rock band in the main lobby was my absolute favorite. Some very amazing and talented people!!! We had a great selection of restaurants; burgers, seafood, bbq, sandwiches, pizza, sushi etc. I've been to Nassau multiple times and each time is a different experience. My family and I enjoyed that as well. The only glitch(I won't say complaint) we had was I ordered my daughter a cake from the fun shops for her birthday 2 days in advance. At dinner the cake we received was not what I ordered. I didn't make a big deal about it because everything else was great, however, I went in the fun shops twice to make sure that the order was correct and when we received the cake at dinner, and the staff sang happy birthday to my daughter I didn't want to make a big deal about it and ruin her moment. I specifically ordered the flavor cake and icing I know she like and it was completely wrong. Other than that, my family and I had a fantastic time! Carnival never disappoints.

Good port to cruise out of

By Wendy J |

We have sailed out of quite a few ports in the US and this one was one of the best. I would like to cruise out of here again. The terminal is clean and updated. Traffic flowed well considering the volume. Baggage area on the return was easy to find and collect our bag and walked right out to catch out rental car shuttle.

Easy-to-use

Took shuttle from hotel and was a very smooth and covenient time to get on a carnival cruise and back off.

Royal Caribbean's parking facility

By DCC57 |

The parking garage was very close to the ship, a good thing. But the elevators did not work and we were parked on the third floor. After waiting for 15-20 minutes we carried our luggage down three flights of stairs. Not a great way to start your vacation.

Great Parking Experience

By Jeff W |

My wife and I cruise once a year. We finally found the cruise parking that we will use again. It's Cruisetime Parking and Shuttle. It's reasonable and the people who run the parking are professional, on-time to pick you up after the cruise, and very respectful.
We wish we would have found them sooner.

What no payphones

By Gerald H |

A wonderful experience going on a cruise with Royal Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Have experienced cruising from Southampton UK, Bayonne USA and Palma Spain, but Port Canaveral was better. The boarding experience was smoother than any other and the only problem we had was on returning after the cruise we needed to phone the transfer company to tell them we were ready to be picked up, but they don’t have payphones in the terminal. Luckily a police sheriff told me this and then offered to lend me his phone to ring, what a star. After sorting this out and waiting for the car I noticed other cruisers in the same predicament and it was local workers who were phoning for them. This has got to be sorted. Why no payphones.

2 and a half - not 3 - Oasis of the Seas

By MaxTravelCanada |

To Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines: I apologize for the inconvenience this review may cause. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
Generally speaking the cruise was enjoyable - not stellar, not 'bad',.... it simply took too much effort on my part to have fun. My family and I have cruised many many times, albeit 15 years ago. My how things have changed. The onus on the passenger to manage their fun in accordance with the complex logistics necessary to operate such a large vessel takes away from the vacation experience. Ironically since we are fairly seasoned travelers we took care of all bookings, logistics, plans etc prior to boarding the ship. Like a complex weave it only takes one tug on a thread, or one problem to start a cascade of administrative logistic work one must do to get the vacation back on track.
In all cases, the RCCL staff are smiling and eager to help, yet end up with same result - "I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. Your patience and understanding is appreciated." If you business is to provide people with a vacation experience - for their enjoyment, stating "you apologize for the inconvenience" is a business failure. No one spends thousands of dollars on vacation to be inconvenienced. Let alone constantly and to invariably have to rectify situations on their own - that's work. That's what we left behind to go on vacation from!
My advice for potential cruise passengers - go in with an open mind. Do as much up front work and planning as possible; and expect to redo some of it when you get there. Don't try to fix all problems - you're on vacation. The effort and frustration is just not worth it. Abandon the problem and move on. Most importantly, the more you pay for your cabin the better your experience will be. If ever there was a pseudo-society that clearly demonstrates the cast-system is a cruise ship. The cruise line will get your money one way or another. There is no cheaping out. Spend your money upfront on the fancy suite and enjoy yourself. If you can't afford the suite, you can't afford to go.

ROYAL CARIBBEAN vs CARNIVAL CRUISE LINES

By Brinton25 |

This is my official review comparing Royal Caribbean's 4 day cruise to Cococay and Nassau and Carnival's 4 day cruise to Catalina and Ensenada. I rate cruises based on 5 different categories: 1. Ship amenities and attractions onboard 2. Ship staff's friendliness and helpfulness 3. Stateroom size and comfort 4. Ports of Call and shore excursion selections 5. Food Quality aboard the ship.

So after going on both of these cruises with these cruise lines, I have found some significant differences despite their similarity in length and relative price. First of all, getting to either Port Canaveral or Long Beach is tricky with price. If you live in the West, then Long Beach will be the best bet. I have family who live down in Orange County, so we just drove down there for a trip and they took us to the port, no problem. For our cruise out of Port Canaveral, we had to fly, and that'll cost a few hundred dollars for a couple. So keep that in mind when choosing your cruise. If you live further East, then Florida won't be as pricey to get to. Now I'll compare both cruises based on our overall experience.
1. Based on ship amenities and attractions on board, they seem to be pretty closely matched. Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas is the oldest in their fleet and is relative in size to Carnival's Imagination ship. Both had shows and games, both had spas, both had plenty of bars and a casino on board, and both had a pool. The water slides were better on Carnival (bonus for the kids) but the pool on Majesty of the Seas was cleaner and better looking. It also wasn't butt freezing like Carnival's pool was. Carnival on the other hand had a huge chess set with life-size pieces on the lido deck and they also had mini golf which is not found on Majesty. Overall, if I had to choose a ship based solely on the attractions onboard, I would choose Majesty of the Seas though. There just seemed to be a lot more to do. On the other hand, Carnival by far is much more family oriented, and so there's a lot more to do for the kids.. Keep that in mind.

2. Ship staff friendliness and helpfulness hands down goes to Majesty of the Seas. We had a wonderful experience with them. They were friendly and upbeat and funny and they made our experience memorable. Carnival's staff wasn't as friendly, and they sometimes brushed us to the side like we didn't matter to them. They were often too focused on working to greet us or be willing to make small talk, so in my opinion, Royal Caribbean's staff was friendlier.

3. Stateroom size and comfort goes to Carnival! We stayed in the standard staterooms on both cruises (to make this review fair), and we were very impressed with the size of our stateroom on Carnival. It was MUCH bigger than Royal Caribbean's, and I felt like we had much more open space. I'll attach pictures to this post to compare.

4. Ports of Call and Shore Excursion selections goes to Royal Caribbean. They're website is much more interactive and user friendly when this subject comes up. They had way more shore excursions and their ports of call in my opinion were more enjoyable and interesting to explore. We went to Cococay and Nassau with Royal Caribbean and Catalina and Ensenada with Carnival. I liked Royal Caribbean's ports more. We snorkeled on both cruises, and you just can't beat the clear blue water of the Bahamas. Snorkeling that reef was incredible. Each port had plenty of shops, and there were plenty of places to eat. The perk to cruising with Royal Caribbean is that they do a Caribbean barbecue on Cococay's shore, which is completely complementary because the island is owned by the Cruise line... Everyone likes free food! And it's soooooo good! I recommend the rum cake especially!

5. Food Quality again goes to Royal Caribbean. Honestly, Carnival's dining food was flavorless. They're breakfast buffets gave me the runs, and the overall food Quality just wasn't all that great. Honestly I'd rate it like a 1.5 or a 2.. Royal Caribbean's food was much more flavorful and we had a much more pleasant dining experience with them.

So, after comparing each of these 5 categories, the winner goes to ROYAL CARIBBEAN's MAJESTY OF THE SEAS!!!! Overall, the 4 day Bahamas Cruise beats the 4 day Ensenada Cruise. This is only my opinion though. You're going to pay roughly the same price for each cruise, so you just need to decide how much you are willing to pay to get there. If you live out West and you still want to cruise out of Port Canaveral, get your plane tickets super early. A doctor I work with got like 6 plane tickets for $200 total.... Because he got them like a year early.. so hope this review was helpful! I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have about either ship or either cruise line... Thanks for reading!

Fun experience

By winifred9188 |

Everyone should visit the Port. Drive to all the terminals, park at #1, and go to Fishlips Restaurant , great for dates and families. Go on a Sunday. at 4pm and you will see cruise ships leaving out to sea, and you can wave to their passengers. Very interesting, educational, great food. reasonable.

Get your crap together!!!

By catherine Y |

This port is horrible for getting in and out of. Especially if you are going to port 8-10. Msc port needs to get their crap together. Horrible traffic management as well as getting on the boat. It was a mob mentality.

Cruise Time Parking

By stevenjtimmins |

We loved these guys (and gals). They took is to the cruise terminal immediately, we gave them our arrival time and they were there before we were. Excellent service and friendly. Yeah, it's fenced in area and it's not a vacation spot, use it to park your car and be happy! We docked at 7am, were off the boat by 8, through customs by 8:40 and in our car by 9:05. That's service!

Local... Carnival cruise, Port Canaveral area

By Mommyof3girl |

Ok. We live near Port Canaveral. We took a 7day carnival cruise. There is not much to do in Port Canaveral itself. There isnt much more than a few restaurants. If driving, park in a cruise parking ramp. It’s worth the extra cost. The area around the port is not the best. It’s very run down. There are a few things to do in cocoa beach but even that area is run down. Pay extra and park in the port. There really isn’t anything for young kids in port. Like I said, just eating. Kennedy space center is fairly close, maybe 30 min drive. It’s worth a visit but even that place seems a bit run down, old. The Brevard zoo is maybe 20 mins from port and it’s an excellent zoo. Temps get cool in the area from dec-feb. bring a sweater, it’s not always warm just because it’s florida. It can be as fun as you make it. Lots of times there are dolphins in the port playing around. Fun to watch the ships go in and out.

Cruised on Carnival Sunshine.

By Lmn1996 |

Very easy to get in and out if. Very easy to go through customs and retrieve our luggage. There were not enough porters the day we em arked. That was the only hold up of getting to the drop off spot.

Clean, organized and good port

By missmaloym |

Port Canaveral is always clean and the signage is clear which is very important when you are trying to find your cruise ship. The parking is always a bit hectic when you are trying to unload thousands of passengers on and off ships, but it is as smooth as as it can be and it is one of my favorite cruise ports to go out of especially since they dredged the port and now they get all of the big ships. I no longer have to drive to Miami or Fort Lauderdale to get on the largest cruise ships in the world.

Epic Cruise

By JeffreyTravel |

Took a cruise out of this Port and it was very easy. Directions were very good and parking was a breeze.

We took our luggage up to the area where you drop it off for the cruise and all went smoothly.

Check in was fast and easily got unto the ship. Disembarking we took our luggage with us. Very easy and we quickly went thru customs.

Easy getting out.

Gladly take a Cruise from here again.

This was a fairly easy port to navigate around. It was organized and easy to get through customs compared with airports.

RCL shuttle just perfect.

By Peter |

Excellent - shuttle from Orlando to Port, luggage goes directly to your cabin. Phone app with WiFi can be used to text message each other on rcl ship.

The Cruise Hub of Florida

By SethVarner |

Most people only come here if they're going on a cruise, which was my case for being there on four separate occasions. It's fun to sit back and watch the cruise ships sail away one after another as you're enjoying a snack at a local restaurant.

Avoid at all cost

By Starling |

Worst experience I have ever had absurd wait for shuttle . They also lied about clearing out the wait lines.

Short one day visit.

Love this city. Took most of day from cruise ship to see city and have lunch. Try to visit here at least once a year by auto. My neighbor said he will not come to South Carlina until Lindsey Graham leaves.

Great Port

This was a great port to cruise from. There was no wait. The port was large and clean. Parking was a bit too expensive so we did park off of property.

Ridiculous Conduct By Employees

By Johnandloistravel |

On may birthday I was subjected to complete incompetents and criminal harassment by two employees aboard the Liberty. The current culture aboad this ship right now is not something you want to get in the middle of, they were arrogant, petty and dishonest, all in an effort to protect themselves and hide there bad conduct. When their arguments were blown up they only got angry and doubled down, they convinced me to take a phone they claimed would be from customer service. The call was from a one Chris Salazar and after a few moments it was very clear he called to rage at me, maybe he was drunk I don't know but it was a bizarre call. As I was explaining our experience during an event, our view of what happened and how maybe things could be improved for future participants, I was interrupted and told I was being dishonest, and not in a calm or professional way. I found that my version and the staff members were extremely similar and there wasn't really much to be disputed, however that didn't stop Mr. Salazar from focusing on red herrings. It quickly became clear that this call was to antagonize me, I told him I don't care, I'm not asking for anything, I didn't want to talk to him and I hung up. He immediately called back in a rage, and I hung up on him again, I was pissed. Thats criminal conduct, it's harassment and it was sponsored by the leadership and customer service. I had hoped to run into to him again so I could have my turn to try and put him on tilt, and I did. I saw him coming off the ship and let him know what a coward and how phony I thought he was. This ship appears to have a young and inexperienced crew and it shows, they wanted to fight from the start. When I first went to the customer service counter with this issue, the gentleman beside the person helping me, interrupted our discussion to tell me I was a liar, what??? This was based on hearsay evidence and what the staff member had told him, crazy. I will say the first person I talked to I customer service should probably be running the whole show, he was the only one during all of this that had an ounce of sense. It was a completely surreal experience to have to go through, I didn't want to be on ship anymore and to make it even worse it was my birthday. So thanks Carnival, I don't know if this is an ingrained culture in the whole company or limited to the cruise ship Liberty but it was completely unacceptable. I will be doing a full report of the situation and forwarding it to the executives of the company, you cannot charge people thousands of dollars and then victimize them with illegal conduct, something should be done. Family Annual Cruise

By warrenmcc |

Did a cruise with my parents and my son. Very enjoyable. We were on the Carnival Breeze. It’s a medium size ship. But very nice. We first stopped at Amber Cove, Dominican Republic. Nice island. Really just got off to make a purchase and back on the ship. It looked very nice. Our second stop was St. Thomas. It’s a very beautiful Island. Great for families or couples. Walked around for a few hours. Really enjoyed it. Our third stop was Puerto Rico. Very lovely Island also. Also walked around for a few just seeing the sights. Good shopping. Not to many shops but very nice. Our last stop was Grand Turk. It’s a very nice Island. Great if you’re a beach goer. The water is beautiful also. Not really much on the Islands for shopping but good to just hang out in the sun. All in all it was a very nice vacation. We enjoyed it immensely. Will go again next year. I’m on number 20 now. Looking forward to 20 more.

Easy In and Out

By billhV8285JU |

A group of us departed from Port Canaveral. We arrived via a bus from Orlando. The bus dropped us off within a few steps of the entrance to the ship. Our luggage was checked at the bus drop-off, which was great. Upon return, we retrieved our bags and got on our bus back to the Orlando airport. We have cruised several times and getting in and out of the Port Canaveral terminal was a breeze.

Board the cruise ship

By ItchyFeet |

This is our second trip to Port Canaveral to board a cruise ship headed down to the Caribbean.

From all that we can see everything seems to be fairly orderly considering the large number of people come and go on a daily basis.

Both times we boarded a ship we got there an hour before our scheduled arrival time which I would highly suggest for anyone to do to avoid crowds as much as humanly possible.

Nice Port, easy to get on and off the ship

By Andrew R |

Port Canaveral is a nice and easy port to get on and off the ship. The staff are easy to talk to and always willing to help. They have plenty of room to drop off your luggage when leaving for the cruise. They also have plenty of room when you get off the ship and need to get out of the port easily. One of the easiest ports in all of Florida.

Organized and Clean

By LoveUFLoveFLA |

The port is well appointed and easy enough to navigate through. There are many large signs that will keep you on track. The port is clean and works efficiently. The Covid protocols are still very much in place. I would recommend this port. As an added bonus, you can see NASA just across the bay.

MSC cruise line Seashore

By Packers4me |

Did the 4 night Bahamas cruise for our first MSC cruise. Took a little bit dealing with the buffet deck with hundreds of people in line . But after getting adjusted, had a really fun time. Wish the Nassau docking in port was longer than 6 hours, but it all worked out, everyone got back onboard. Shows were great and rest were fantastic.
Entire staff and crew were so friendly and welcoming.
Great experience!

Carnival Magic Cruise

By WIfamilyof7 |

My family have never been to Port Canaveral before our experience on Dec 23 getting on board the Carnival Magic for a 7 day cruise. As you enter the drop-off area, it's clear that if there are two or three ships departing that afternoon it's probably going to be a zoo getting into the port area for a while. The areas where passengers get dropped off appears to be pretty congested quickly. It may be less so if you're driving there and using the parking lot. We arrived a bit after 2 PM so things had slowed downed. We used Ace Transportation to get from MCO to Port Canaveral and just loved it. I was quite nervous but it was so smooth. The port personnel were good to us and pleasant. The Carnival personnel were very nice and control the chaos very well. There's a lot going on and you just have to realize that. You'll get on the ship and you'll get to your room.

What In the WORLD!

By Gothospitality |

We just got back from our cruise and this cruise terminal has a lot to fix. When we arrived we were promptly dropped off and left by our shuttle and immediately realized there was no signage of where to go. We finally made it up to TSA and had no idea which line to get into. Finally got to through TSA and again got lost as to which direction go. Once we finally made it to the right line we were checked in an they made us walk allllllll the way to the other end of the terminal round the corner to the other side of the glass to walk allll the way back past where we were just on the other side of the glass. when there were several doors that could be slid open.

On our return trip it was just as bad no signage of where to go, people were being directed to go in one line and not the other with no explanation. Then the disaster starts....we get outside to catch the shuttles and there are signs for a specific service to go here and there not a sign that says hey Hotel shuttels this way, taxis this way, buses to airport this way. It was like standing with Dorothy on the yellow brick road listening to the scarecrow about where to go. It was awful hot and we were confused.

We have been through here twice.

By Mark K |

My wife & I have used this port twice tp go on cruises. The 1st time was our 1st cruise, so we did not know what to expect. I'm not sure what all ports are like, but this one is clean, and secure. It is esy in, and easy out. The security got our shuttle service right to our ships dock. It made for a very relaxing experience, on a hectect travel day.

Great area

By beth ann k |

The cruise port was very organized with overhead signs telling which ship is at each terminal. There are lots of restaurants and things to do in the middle portion of the port

December 17 Departure / Return on December 24....

By Chuck B |

Easy cruise departure port. Dropped off our luggage and parked our vehicle in short order. You pre-pay for the week (actually they get you for eight days, $17 per day). When we disembarked from the ship on the 24th we were in our vehicle and on the road by 7:00am. Again, a simple port to utilize for a cruise departure.

Carnival Cruise

By Noteworthymom |

It was a bit overwhelming as we drove up, but there was plenty of personnel directing traffic and assisting with luggage. Everyone we encountered in the process was very polite.

Fast, efficient, and professional service.

By ShaMillie |

I had just taken a cruise out of this port for the first time, and having this also be my first cruise, I can say that I had a lot of questions to ask just about everyone I saw! haha! Going back to business now I can confidently say that once you walk inside you are greeted by the attendants who check your travel documents and make you feel very comfortable about all of the questions you have because I know sometimes you might feel shy or too "awkward" to ask questions, but the service here was amazing and they ensured me that no question is a bad question whether it is your first time on a cruise ship or not. I was checked in and on board my ship very fast. Since this was my very first cruise I know I have nothing to compare it to, but I know good service when I see it and Port Canaveral was that definition for me! Also, the building is air conditioned with a cleanly atmosphere.

Easy on and off the Cruise of your lifetime

By David C |

Stay and Cruise was easy and your car was easy to get to. The Hotel had a shuttle directly to the cruise ship and the lines at Port Canaveral were not long. Great way to start a relaxing week.

Taking a cruise

By margum2010 |

Taking a cruise with family, arrive early at the terminal and registration was easy and prompt, staff at the terminal direct to the proper areas which help to make the embarkation process easy.

Maybe See Even if Not Cruising

By VacationingIsFun |

My mom and I stayed in Cocoa Beach with our family October 2017, and we visited Port Canaveral! We saw 9 cruise ships while we were there from Discovery Tower and from the cruise terminals. We even got to watch Royal Caribbean Majesty of the Seas leave from Port! One couple even waved to us from the back of the ship before the ship left! Just seeing the ships up close is amazing! Even if you are not cruising, I definitely recommend a visit to Port Canaveral!

Our adventure!! Our 25th Anniversary Cruise!!! First time cruisers!!!

By WendyB432014 |

I had signed me and my husband up for the Key Program with Royal Caribbean and everything flowed really nicely of getting your Sea Pass done, looking at the Passports and everyone was just so helpful to get you were you needed to be. Really enjoyed the flow!!! Will come again!!!

Great Bar & Grills

By BartlettDan |

My family and I have been cruising from this port for over almost 15 years and never knew that this existed. Each previous time we had been dropped off, via shuttle, from a local hotel. This time around we were picked up by friends that live in the area. If you get to one of these special places before 4:00 PM, you will be able to watch the cruise ships take off. That and enjoy fantastic food.

Carnival Breeze

By Kari911 |

It was our first time cruising and even though we were cruising with experienced family members, this port was filled with very friendly and helpful employees! Will definitely cruise out of this Port again!

Look out for the cruise ships!!

By jerseyjeanette |

A nice place for seafood restaurants and noticed a beer festival was on the evening we went.Love the Tiki bar so worth going for a good meal at the port.Plenty of cruise ship activity going on.

Cruise Take Off

By Kenji C |

The Port was AWESOME! I boarded my boat(Liberty), a Carnival Cruise. It is a place to board there are great hotels and restaurants in the area.

Passenger transportation from MCO Airport to Port Canaveral, I recommend limofive.com, There is a 7-seater SUV, 10 and 14-seater van

Terminal Good - Avoid Lyft or Uber upon return

By MrsBovie |

We returned to port on Wonder of the Seas and passed through the terminal quickly. Clean and organized. No issue with the them. This is more for those planning to order an Uber/Lyft upon return. The sign for Uber/Lyft is outside on the ground past the taxis. Waited over an hour for a Lyft or Uber. Our confirmations kept getting dropped as there were not enough drivers to support the need. And this wasn’t a holiday weekend nor multiple ships returning at same time. Just a warning to plan accordingly.

Nice Port, with Some issues

By JusBeachn |

We have been through this port several times now, for cruises with Carnival. Everything around the port is convenient and easy to access, till you get to parking. I don't know if they are under construction, or if it is a managerial issue. There is confusion on cruising days. Parking is available in 2 lots close to the ships, which is great. But traffic is made to zigzag through both to drop off bags and park the vehicle. A lot of the problems would be solved with a good plan. Overall a good port to leave out of. Just be ready for some confusion the day you get there.

Efficient and helpful

By Terri K |

Nothing better than getting through customs, dragging bags out of the terminal and seeing the Cruise Time van right where they said they would be. On both ends the employees were communicative and helpful. We knew exactly when we would leave, how long it would take to get to the terminal, and where they would be when we returned. We will definitely use them again.

Get on board!

By 303pphillips |

Port Canaveral is a beautiful, but very busy place to be! Wonderful sights of the tour ships, but even more fun if you happen to be boarding one, which we did last spring!

FIRST CRUISE ... OUTSTANDING

By Armyafmedical |

First cruise for my wife and I. We took the 3 day on Carnival Liberty to Nassau Bahamas. Great experience. Wonderful people. Friendly staff. Good food and great selection. We parked at an off-terminal lot with bus transportation. Great movement from the parking lot to the terminal. Being retired military, we were used to the "cattle call" environment of the terminal embarking and debarking. I must say it went quite smoothly. Will use this terminal again in the future as we live on the East Coast and plan to cruise more!!

Very nice clean port. Easy to get in and out of.

By Linda C |

It was very easy to park at this port (in the garage), although it was expensive to leave the car for the time we were on the cruise, but it was under cover and in a secure area. The lines getting into the terminal, through the various levels of security went quickly.

Uber - Lyft

By Lulu B |

Terrible worst Port in US. Not allow Uber or Lift to pick up passengers. Port Authorities stop my driver and request registration and fees. Clearly against Florida law signed in 2017. Nobody care about the passengers. Port Authorities have not idea how run a Port.

Disney Terminal 8

By Sprout211 |

My only other cruise terminal experience is Seattle 5 years ago. This was much better. Very organized. We were dropped off by taxi which was good because finding terminal 8 seemed confusing.
As soon as we exited the cab a terminal employee was greeting us and taking care of our bags. The terminal was crowded but expected with a Disney Merry Time cruise over Thanksgiving holiday. Security was much nicer than my usual experience with airport TSA. My husband accidentally kept a pocket knife in his pocket. Instead of it being confiscated and losing it forever he was given a claim check to pick it up at the end of the cruise :). Our boarding time was 1245-1300. The line went quickly to get our “Keys to the World” and lanyards. We waited less than 15 minutes for our boarding group to be called to enter the ship. The whole process took less than an hour to get on the ship from the time we were dropped off. The Disney terminal had Mickey and Minnie inside to take pictures with and a model of the Fantasy cruise ship.

Guy loading luggage has little man syndrome.

By jhbrown41412 |

The guy loading our luggage was rude as hell, he obviously had little man syndrome…probably for good reasons… After we left our luggage with him, he managed to rip off a stapled, laminated boarding pass. This caused a delay in us getting our bag for almost 5 hours. Carnival apparently added their own tag on it once they figured out it was our bags since we had name tagswith our names, address, and phone numbers on it. The snacks we had in our bag was crushed. Other than that, everything went very smooth.

Fast, Friendly and Efficient Services!

By Moosevilleco |

A little background on us. We have cruised out of Galveston, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
This was our first trip out of Port Canaveral and honestly, it was the fastest and most efficient embarkation experience we have ever had. The staff at the Port are well organized, friendly and move you quickly through the Port no matter when you arrive. We were supposed to board the Carnival Magic at 11:30 and arrived at 11 am. We were promptly escorted through the check-in process and never sat for a minute. Before we could blink, we were on the ship! Great Port!

Wonderful Port

By barbaragwen270 |

Florida has 5 ports for cruise ships. This is our favorite. The area is not congested, the traffic moves smoothly, the signage is first rate. Each pier has it's own covered parking that's very close by. The area is very clean. There's a lot of places to eat in the area as well. We enjoy just taking a ride to the area for lunch and watching the ships leave.

Cruising made easy

By Dusty W |

We really enjoy the fast and easy port for our Disney Cruise. The porters at the Disney terminal were very nice and very helpful. I was only disappointed when we were leaving and we had to see the nasty rat inflatable that the port porters had put up in protest to Disney porters not joining their group. It's sad when grown or in this case not so grown adults make a child's last memory a nasty memory of a ugly rat. Shame on the port for allowing these people to do this to a child's memory.

Deep sea 🐟

By astrch |

Went on a private deep sea fishing charter with Captain Pat on the Denise Marie Charters. What an excellent experience. Dolphins escorted us out of the port. Hundreds of flying fish, sea turtles more dolphins. Captain Pat was very informative and helpful. We will be going again.

Favorite port

By Tj T |

This has always been my favorite port to cruise out of. Very fast and efficient. No issues with checking in. And when we returned it was very easy as well.

Very smooth on and off cruise ship

By SCh2ofowler |

I must say I was a little skeptical with having to navigate around 2800 other people getting on and off our cruises but they make it work with ease. We were out of our vehicle and on to the boat in no time. Same way getting back, off boat and into our car in minutes.

Great port

By 19Teresa19 |

Port Canaveral is in a beautiful place. Everyone there was really helpful. My husband is in a wheelchair and everything was assessable to him.

Please read this it WILL save you money I promise you

By Daniel M |

Okay imma be completely honest with you, it was possibly one of the worse experiences of my life. I have never been on a cruise and thought it’d be fun, I was very wrong. Carnival may be the most manipulating, cash hungry system on the sea; they put you on a 2-Star boat and then take advantage of every disadvantage being on sea brings. First and foremost they have you pay for the WiFi but not just one fee. They break it into packages so even if you pay the extra 20 to get internet, you can literally only use Instagram, Snapchat, and one other application; no safari, no FaceTime, nothing. For the normal, regular WiFi you must cough up a mean $200 for 3 full days of use. The rooms are even worse, literally one outlet no matter how many people you share a room with (my room had four by the way) so even if you do pay for the WiFi, you won’t ever have enough juice to use your phone. I honestly don’t know if other cruises give you free drinks but Carnival definitely doesn’t. They over charge heavily for alcohol and soda, yes, soda isn’t even included. You can by the drink pass if you want to spend another $200-300 but even if you do there’s a limit to how many drinks you can order a day; about 10-15 i believe. Okay big deal no alcohol, now you can finally get sober buttt there’s another problem, the water is absolutely terrible. Carnival is so cheap they use an on board filter that literally just boils seawater and shoots it up to you. The drinking water, shower water, and dare I say toilet water are of the same exact caliber. Don’t worry, they have bottled water on board and they even put some in your room, but wait, it’s not free either, you’re looking at $4 a pop for some off brand, foreign water. Sorry but it doesn’t end there, it gets even worse, much worse. The destination of my cruise was to the Bahamas and let me tell you what these communist did; they bring you to one true port in Nassau and it’s not even all that but the day after they bring you to an Island owner by who else, Carnival Cruises. On this island and on the whole entire boat you can’t use cash nor card just Carnival money but on the island if you wanna sit back and relax, the drink card DOESNT EVEN WORK. You spend $200 on a drink card for 3 days and you can’t even use it for one whole day!! It is utter madness! Doesn’t stop there though, the workers are horrible but to be honest, I do not blame them. Talked to one of them to get their side of the story and turns out Carnival runs a modern day slave ship. These poor (not money poor but sad poor) people work 8-10 months out of the year, 7 days a week, roughly 5am-9pm, and are given food and board, obviously, but nothing else! It’s sickening and Carnivals profits are through the roof because of their greed and lack of social responsibility. The final thing I will add is that the boat shakes like a stripper in magic city just absolute rocking, it makes you sick throughout dinner it’s that bad. I urge you PLEASE do not ever go on a carnival cruise you will regret it I promise you. If anyone on Yelp or any other forum gives it a positive review it is because they have never been out of their small town in Wyoming much less on a boat so their idea of a good time is completely scued. If you are a person from small town Wyoming you’ll probably have fun but I assure you there is a better option to choose from other than Carnival! P.S. I have created a profile to three different sites to review this, I love y’all and am trying to save you money!

Don't miss the chance to wave to the Cruise Ships

By Steve N |

Port Canaveral once stood as a busy naval and fishing port with not much for tourists to do other than camp at Jetty Park or fish from the seawall or jetties. Thanks some vision and skyrocketing tourism, Port Canaveral has now become one of the busiest Ports for cruising in the US. A Second mega-terminal is being constructed which will allow 7 Cruise ships to dock in the port at one time. We recently took a drive to the port to see off one of the 1200 footers. Standing near the boat ramp adjacent Jetty Park we loved seeing all of the excited cruisers at the start of their journey amazed at the "City at Sea" as if floated by on its way out to sea. There are excellent restaurants including Grills which have wonderful views of the port and passing boats. Don't miss it!

Honeymoon after 12 yrs of Marriage..............

By Eddie L |

Hey!! after 12 yrs, yeah I know but it finally happened! We left from NYC, 1 st stop Port of Canaveral, I was not expecting such and industrial place, just a common shipyard with a couple of restaurants and bars, you can rent a car here but if you don't do any excursions then stay in your ship. Shuttle buses are available for the excursions.

Easy to get too

By Tony T |

Port was very easy to get too. The only down side was parking price was a little over the top. $20 a day. You can get it half that price just off site.

Very efficient embarking & customs & security

By kkmcb |

We were only at the port to get on and off our Disney Dream Cruise this January. All in all, the transportation, security and restroom facilities were clean and ready to use. Everything moved very quickly. We had a 30 minute wait for our transportation back to the airport, but that was planned/expected.

Carnival Liberty Bahamas Cruise - Lower Your Expectations

By JohhnnyQ |

I did this cruise with my daughters in December 2017.

If you are considering this cruise ship, your first step should be to lower your expectations. OK, good, a little bit more, lower, lower, stop.

Let's start with the good:

+ Cost was reasonable.

+ Drink prices were also reasonable, not cheap of course, but about what you would pay at an upscale bar/restaurant.

+ The boarding process was pretty efficient.

+ Casino on-board was decent. For you gamblers out there, they had 6/5 blackjack at lower table limits all the time and 3/2 blackjack at a $ 25 table some of the time. They had drawings and giveaways on some nights. Overall, it was good considering they have no direct competition.

+ The comedian that week was hilarious. Sorry, I can only remember that his first name was JIM.

OK, now for the LOWER YOUR EXPECTATIONS ( remember, really low ):

- The service for dinner in the sit-down dining halls was excruciatingly slow. It was slow enough that I mentioned it at the Guest Services desk during the cruise, but no one bothered to follow-up or contact me.

Example: We decided we would just have dessert one night. It took 15 minutes to have the waiter stop by so we could order. AND ANOTHER 1/2 HOUR TO GET IT. Service was SLOW every day.

- The food quality was marginal, especially for steaks. You can expect +/- 2 levels if you ask for a medium steak, and that pretty much covers the spectrum. Normally, I would send back a steak at a nice restaurant if it was mis-prepared so much, BUT here again the service in the first place was so slow it wasn't worth it on the Carnival Liberty.

- Portion sizes were very small. The jumbo shrimp entrée had about 5 or 6 of some of the smallest shrimp I have ever seen along with a scoop of mashed potatoes. How about 3 small mini-marshmallow sized scallops for an appetizer ? Really ?

- On a 4 night cruise, one show was excellent, one was good, and two were dogs. So it was frustrating to see they have the talent to put on a good show, but don't have the commitment to do it.

SUMMARY:

If you want an inexpensive cruise, this will work for you.

If you want anything resembling their cruise brochure, you need to try a different cruise line or at least a different ship.

TIP:

You can order a "double-shot" drink for a couple bucks more. Just have them put that "Kahlua and Cream" in a tall glass for you.

Wow

By kajay5605 |

This was our first cruise out of this port. I was amazed at the smooth process of check in and boarding. We were on board well before 11am! The staff was amazing. We will definitely sail out of Port Canaveral again!

Easy to navigate this cruise terminal

By Will H |

Roads leading to are well marked and easy to navigate. Parking deck is laid out well allowing smooth & easy entry to the terminal. Plenty of cruise ship (Royal Caribbean) personnel to guide you through the boarding process.

Easy in and out at port, friendly port agents

By Yardley Traveler |

We came here for 7 nights Cruise with Carneval Magic, we arrived around 11:30am, not too crowded, the process was easy and fast. Port agents were very friendly and nice.
We did not park near the port, it was too expensive.

Good experience

By scottm1168 |

Very organized, no issues boarding. Good experience. Would travel there again. Shuttle available. A++

Not very interesting

By Osvaldo GF |

I was there on a cruise stop. It was the least interesting stop on the ship. There isn't much to do there, unless you book a shore excursion, which I didn't do.

Nice tourist area.

By Al K |

Came here before our cruise departure. Just hung out for a few hours and visited a few local landmark shops. Nice view of the ocean and the beaches are very big. Wish we had more time to hang out. There are lots of hotels and places to eat.

Easy Breezy!!

By MsPearl105 |

I just returned from a 5-day Carnival Cruise. It was my 3rd time leaving from Port Canaveral (I’ve also left from Port of Miami and Port of L.A.) before. Port Canaveral is my favorite port thus far. The process is simple and easy. There were 3 lines for arriving guests: on time, early, late. Once in the appropriate line, the process was swift. We showed our passports and boarding passes a few times, went through bag checks and the metal detectors and were on our way to board the ship all in about 15 minutes or so. The port is clean and runs efficiently. Nearly everyone we interacted with was friendly (there will always be a few employees who refuse to smile to speak, but hey).

All of our questions were answered and clear directions were given every step of the way. This our port of choice.

Nice Port

By rsadulski |

We have sailed from here a few times and it is much more organised than Port Miami. There were several employees available to assist and direct passengers and the boarding process was very quick. Looking forward to our next cruise from this port.

Convenient and well laid out

Left for a cruise to the Bahamas from here. Easy to get to, clear directions and efficient traffic flow.

Great port

By Mary D |

Great port to take a cruise from. Great service. Wonderful coming back into port, used a wheelchair(my husband had trouble walking a long distance)from the ship. Used a porter to get the luggage and thru customs in a hurry. Thanks you the gentleman pushing the wheelchair for that suggestion.

Carnival's Magic

By djcc77 |

So what to expect on the Magic? In my opinion, Carnival is the entry line of cruise lines. It is inexpensive as other lines go. However, that will be reflected in the amenities. The food is okay. You can get lots of it, but if a restaurant offered that quality it would probably not stay open for very long. We didn't drink a lot but the night we had a non-alcoholic beer and a margarita it ran about $17 (?) which is about par as in most restaurants. That can add up though if you start drinking early in the day--yahoo! It was reported the shows were of high school quality. We had a cove balcony which meant we were on deck 2 right above the water. That was a great feature for me as I liked to step out at all times especially at night and enjoy experiencing the water. The cabin was a good size (been on some the size of a closet) and the housekeeping staff were great. In fact, the entire staff was outstanding in their friendliness and courteousness and efficiency.

Yes, the wait in the dining room was long, but the wait staff were lovely people. The ease of the concept of dine when you want was questionable. Many people lined up at 5:30pm for the opening at 5:45pm and the line wound through all the way to the showroom and then would double back. Once the doors opened the line moved pretty fast, but, of course, service was so slow between courses--not due to the wait staff. They were in constant motion. Many of us agreed it was better to sign up for the fixed early or late seatings where you can just walk to your assigned table. In the 'dine when you want' you could be seated 12 inches from another couple and not know whether you should speak to them or try to pretend they are not there. So uncomfortable on the nights where the other people wanted privacy! That was a huge negative. I do not want to do that again.

One other observation on the dining experience--at a designated point during dinner the diners would be asked to wave our napkins over our head for showtime. The wait staff would then line up and perform a rehearsed dance routine. So on top of trying to serve all the needs of the diners (and some people are so very needy down to ordering two dinners and hey, where is that extra butter?) now they have to smile and DANCE. It made me uncomfortable watching them having to perform?

Basic building but efficient

By jas45 |

Not the prettiest of buildings, basic cement floor and cinder block walls but the job of clearing cruise guest is done in a professional and expedient manner

First Anniversary - We'll be back!

By Kathleen T |

My husband is a platinum member - me a gold member. Our trip in was easy with parking for the week at the terminal - 136.00. We checked in and met our cabin staff member I Made. He was so attentive! All of the staff was great. We did the Amber Cove, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk trip. The weather was rough so we missed our first port after two attempts. Good call Captain! We had extra time in St. Thomas which was beautiful. We took a trail ride in Puerto Rico through the Rain Forest area which was beautiful. We snorkeled in Gran Turk. A very nice trip - good job again Carnival! Recommended for all ages something for everyone! Enjoy the specialty restaurants as well - reasonable and fun for special occasions. Can't wait to book our next adventure!

I want my money back

Lousy shuttle service puts big damper on great vacation

Better organized, more frequent and larger shuttle service from port. Got off ship, waited 2 hours for a shuttle and finally called an Uber… awful!!!! Don’t park here!!!!!!!

Disney Cruise

By Dean_Amy-2004 |

Embarked and disembarked from a Disney cruise at the port. Access was very easy from the rental car shuttle and baggage handlers were on the spot ready to assist with getting luggage to the ship. Remember these porters are not cruise employees. If you use their service, please tip accordingly.

Fast and Furiously Easy

By dw6729 |

We left out of Port Canaveral on a cruise. In Aug. of 2016 we took the Carnival Magic. We were gone for 7 days. We had ports of call at Amber Cove, St Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. There were about 15 friends and family. It was a WONDERFUL TIME FOR ALL OF US. The ship was excellent and all the visit and places we stop. Couldn't have ask for a better time. Try it you will like it.

Staff an service.

By Katancia |

The dinner team,Alex Bryan, Louis and Lala did outstanding performances and worked well together. They made the trip more enjoyable. The room people did a nice services job as well. All the staff tried hard.

Excellent facility!

By Scene-set |

Cruised out of Port Canaveral on a b2b Carnival Sunshine cruise.Carnivals terminal is located on the far side of the Port (i.e. not directly adjacent to the Port side food outlets and bars)

One of the best Ports we have cruised out of in terms of easy access, friendliness of porters, cruise staff and security.

Disembarking can be more difficult (as at most Ports) in terms of waiting for rental car buses or taxis, but there are covered waiting areas for both.

Smoothest Port

By Jeff C |

This the smoothest departure port for cruises. Easy access from highways, clear and easy driving in and out, convenient parking and friendly staff. We have sailed from ports on both coasts and this is by far the smoothest on both ends of a cruise.

Special event venue

By interceptpubs |

Can't say anything about how the cruise ship terminals work for their intended purpose, but happened to attend a couple of special events here recently. The first was a reception for the commissioning of a Navy ship - this was held in a very large space inside Terminal 10. Not exactly sure how this space is used for cruise ship passengers, but it is an impressive place to hold a dinner. Imagine the interior of an aircraft hanger but finished like a hotel ballroom. The food, which we understand was catered by the venue, was very good - hot and cold hors d'oeuvres and desserts basically, along with a full open bar. Acoustics and sound setup were also good. The only negative was the parking - although obviously setup to handle large volumes of vehicles, it was difficult to figure out how to get in or out of the parking areas back to the highway (signage could be a whole lot better).

The next day Terminal 1 was used as the parking and staging area for attendees for the actual commissioning over at the Navy submarine pier. Given there were over 5,000 attendees and all had to park their cars, security screened, and bused to the base, it worked very smoothly with plenty of attendants to efficiently fill the lots and plenty of police to make sure everyone was safe and not getting run over by the cars or buses, checking IDs and screening effects, etc. Having been at other commissionings where similar transportation setups were disasters, this all went very smoothly.

Carnival Magic Western Carribean Cruise

By Deidre A |

Travelled all the way from South Africa to experience my first cruise. Im glad it was with Carnival. Enjoyed the cruise a lot. Cant complain about much, staff as well as guests were very nice. They are well organised. I would definitely do another cruise with Carnival in future.

Hurricane dorian

By Kellykdudley23 |

Carnival doesn’t credit for a cruise when a category 4 hurricane is coming straight towards their port, when they already canceled the stops that the boat was supposed to go to and tells you that you will not arrive back on the day it was supposed to arrive back. Amazing.

Excellent Boarding Process

By John L |

We embarked upon the Oasis of the Seas from Port Canaveral in February of 2019.
Granted, it wasn't an entertainment center, but we didn't expect it to be anything other than a cruise port facillity.
My rating is aimed toward the folks who manage/man the facility, who, IMO, could not have been nicer or more helpful than they were.
From traffic directors to baggage handlers to guides within the facility....and to their management, our hat is off.
Nice job, everyone.....and thanks.

Total CLUSTER!!!

By ElkHerd |

Arrival at Port Canaveral for cruise was HORRIBLE!! Waited for almost 2 HOURS for parking for a cruise leaving from Terminal 1!!! Traffic was backed up for miles!! Total chaos! No one directing traffic, parking attendants (when they finally showed up!) didn’t know where people were going to park! Worst departure EVER!!! The port clearly was not prepared for a ship with the size and capacity of Wonder of the Seas!

Loyal to Royal at Port Canaveral!

By marita g |

Royal Caribbean offers a great variety of ships out of this Port. There are other lines as well, Disney, Carnival, Norwegian, etc. It is an easy Port for us to navigate. On our most recent sailing (this week), we saved $ by parking at Parkway Parking in Merritt Island, offering convenient free shuttle service too and from our ship.

On and off the boat

By stm1258 |

We got on the boat early and got off the boat early. The staff here to make your experience the best it can be for being in a line was awesome. So many friendly folks to help you and great you so kindly. Great staff and ample parking and signs to get around. Great job!

very unorganized.

By 200hello |

We came here to board the NCL Epic. When we were at the terminal everything was nice except for a porter that sort of tricked us into tipping her even though there was a sign that said "you dont need to tip porters, they are salaried". But when we got off the cruise everything was messed up. When were waiting for a shuttle that took us to the car rental place, there was a porter that just put a luggage cart at the place where our shuttle was going to park, so our shuttle waited on the other side. Then when another shuttle of a different company came, the porter let it in. Totally unfair. Then we finally found another shuttle, but that was full. So we waited another five minutes until another one came but when we were boarding it, a porter came and told us we couldn't go on, even there was clearly more than enought space. Then the shuttle went and we waited another five minutes until finally a shuttle came and took us back.
And to make it worse, there seemed to be smokers everywhere we went. Even some of the porters were smoking!!!!

Second time around

By Barbara M |

I stilll enjoyed this cruise but just not as much as I did last year when we cruised on her.

The staff seemed not quite as friendly as last year and the activity crew was just OK. Again, this is when comparing them to last year.

Dan Dan was good, he kept us laughing and seemed to do most of the talking. The other lady I think her name was Tesha, Tessa ? Something along those lines. All she seemed to do the entire time was laugh and hide behind the stages or do roles that didn’t require her to interact with the audience very much. Just less than impressed.

The room attendant as usual was fantastic. Very friendly and attentive. Could say enough wonderful things about him.

The food in the my time dining MDR was just substandard, but I honestly wasn’t impressed with it last year either.

We did Chops one night and it was pretty good, not sure it was worth the price and did Giovanni’s another evening. I was extremely impressed with the food and with the server. She was spot on and would address us by our names when assisting us. A wonder touch.

I would like to say that it is time for Oasis of the Sea to do some updating and renovating. The air did not work properly and the venues seemed hot at times. The carpet is starting to get run down, but that is to be expected.

Overall I still enjoyed my time on the cruise and hated to see it end. I would just like to see RC spend a little $ to update the boat just a bit.

Short but nice!!

By Vacationqueen58 |

A lot to see, wish I would have had more time to explore the area but the port is exciting with all the cruise ship you can take boat tours and see the area which was exciting cant wait to go back explore more.

Went as smooth as possible

By Bruce S |

We have sailed from here before. There have been marked improvements in traffic flow and cruise passenger arrivals. Our bags were taken quickly and without hassle. We were directed on a fast flowing path to the cruise passenger processing area. Our documents were verified and embarkation was rather swift given the size of the ship and number of passengers being processed. Very pleased.

Great facility

By browncondo2102 |

Great location for cruise ship terminals. Easy in and out no matter how you are travelling. They are well organized and some of the larger cruise ship companies have their own terminals here.

Will choose a different port

By Suzie H |

Not sure if it was the steamship line or the port itself but it was a lot of hurry up and wait. After scheduling our boarding time we waiting for 2 hours to board with absolutely no internet to entertain

Get Your Act Together

By Kris W |

Worst experience ever. They need to add parking, employees to the menagerie they have built. Don't expand until you're ready too. Go to Fort Lauderdale or Miami much easier Ports.

The best terminal we have ever used

By Tracy L |

We cruised out of port Canaveral with carnival and it was the smoothest flow. We arrived went right into the terminal, checked in, went through security, and got on the boat all in less than 45 mins! I have never had such a great experience. The staff was very friendly and well organized. I will definitely we cruising out of this port again.

DON'T Park at Port Canaveral!

By Yvonne M |

The parking shuttles at Port Canaveral were very helpful and quick getting us to our cruise ship. The driver was very informative and friendly. However, on our debarkation (which went quickly and smoothly--thank you, Carnival!), the shuttles slowed to a snail's pace on getting us back to our car. We waiting for over an hour and a half, standing in a long line, while watching other shuttles come and go, picking up people in other lines. The two attendants for "Park Port Canaveral" seemed to keep overlooking the line we were in and sent the shuttles to other lines. There seemed to be no system in place. After paying over $100 for parking, I would have much rather used the hotels with free parking when you stay the night before your cruise. We could have Ubered back the the hotel and saved ourselves the money and standing in long lines for over an hour!!!

Eveverything Went Great

By Eric_Ernst_Photo |

Parked at Port Canaveral for a cruise and everything was great! My car was there over a week and had no problems.

Chaos After Disembarkation

By foodforthought130 |

After getting off our NCL ship, we needed to find where the rental car shuttle pickup was at. We were told to go 3 different places by 3 different staff members, and each location was at complete different and far away part of the port. There was no signage, and the rental car shuttles were mixed in with the giant tour busses. We were finally told by a helpful worker that the shuttle companies take their sweet time to pickup passengers. Recommendation: get your own Uber to get to the rental car company, as it took us 45 minutes to find where to go and actually get picked up.

Unprofessional by far

By A S |

The port was very unorganized and the workers getting luggage off the shuttles for the passengers getting on to the cruise flatboat asked if we were going to tip and held his hand out expecting money!! Extremely unprofessional and will not be returning to this port.

Decent cruise terminal with good facilities

By Linda A |

As far as cruise terminals go, this is probably one of the better ones. We were in-transit here on a trans-Atlantic cruise, immigration was fast and efficient and the cruise terminal had all the facilities that you would need. The only slight downside was that we were not allowed to wander about the port area, but had to get a shuttle bus to the beach, walking was forbidden.

Nice port

By SCtravelMom80 |

This port is easy to navigate. Lots of room for parking and always well lit. The boarding process has always been quick and easy.

Royal Caribbean to Nassau

By Stephen P |

We used the port for our trip on the Majesty of The Sea. Check in looked like it would be hectic but it was a breeze! Returning to port we were somewhat concerned because nobody had claim forms for customs and the port does t show up on mobile passport app, however, once we departed the ship for CBP we got through with no problems at all and the lady officer was super nice making it much less nerve wracking. We cannot wait to return for the next voyage and adventure! Will definitely recommend the port (mind you there isn't much to see for a port of call- it really is just to get on or off the ship).

Lovely Port

By Dan |

This was our first stop on our cruise to the Bahamas on the NCL Breakaway. Not really much to do that’s walking distance but the port is very clean and well organized unlike other ports I’ve seen.

Interesting Place, Lots to Do, Lots to See

By Robert S |

With cruise, submarines, and SpaceX ship traffic, it's a great place to see them up close. The port has a range of food & drink establishments but you don't need to spend money to have a great view. There is a large boat ramp area at the far east of the port, next to Jetty Park, with great views. Jetty Park is full service with grills, tables, restrooms, beach, and as the name implies, a jetty. Park admission is $5 for residents, but $15 for non-residents. Worth the cost if you're going to spend time and want beach or grill.

Average Cruise Port

By Steven Graham |

•Royal Caribbean International terminal= nice remodel but not meant for high flow of people
•Public Cruise terminal= needs to be bigger and designated to one line only
•Disney Cruise Line terminal= simply the best

Worth a drive through, good eating spot

By Moonshell |

We stopped here for lunch. There are lots of lunch options and the view of the harbour is cool. Cruise ships (Disney), space X boats, and Pelicans.

Down to the Sea in Ships

By 131willardc |

The port is center of all that maritime activity and you can't help but be fascinated by everything that's happening all at the same time. It's even better than that app on your phone. LOL You can learn a lot as you watch the serene near misses or the animals that live with the ships.

This was a neat experience. We had a decent time getting in and out and it was a lovely day

By Unifi E |

Wow, this place is busy. However, it was a beautiful day and I virtually do not have any complaints. Life was good and business booming

Parking

By awesome-annie1945 |

Easy to get to, super signage, and just a few step from the entrance. $128 for the week. Could have gone with less, much less on an outlying parking area, but chose to exit easily and be on my way. If you have loads of time or a short trip home, look at other otions. There are several of them

Royal Caribbean—Never again

By Luvorlando4761 |

Oasis cruise from April 1-April 8.
Teenagers were harassing other guests. Using profanity and racial slurs. It was brought to security and his response was “what do you want me to do”.
I now see how people fall off ships and assaults/rapes occur and nothing is done about it. Another person told my daughter it’s hard to control 6000 people. I guess so but it was only 15 causing problems. My daughter called Royal Caribbean and they blew her off as well.
Very poor. I guess they also have the same slack approach to food safety which led to illness outbreaks last year. No more cruises for me. Not worth the risk to personal safety and health. Hard to enjoy your “vacation” when people call members of your party a N$$$$R. Perhaps they condone racism as well. Do they have Starbucks on their ships?

Parking Great, Pick up from Terminal- a nightmare!

By Angie |

We parked with Park Port Canaveral during our cruise. Parking and drop off to the terminal was awesome! Parked, unloaded our luggage and within about 30 min loaded a bus to be shuttles to the ship.

The pick up today from the terminal was absolutely horrible! We waited for almost 3 hours and still didn’t get picked up. The line was horribly long and only 2 buses were running every 20-30 min with a thousand people waiting.

We ended up having to get an Uber to drop us off. Never again would I use this service during my cruise. The pick up wait in the hot sun was a nightmare and something that should not happen. 1 hour would have been bad but 3 hours??!!!

I would NOT recommend this company. I gave 2 stars only because of the parking and shuttle to the terminal being good. I could have got that same service anywhere. We were the only group with such long lines. The ship was already reloading new passengers by the time we left the port and still there was a massive long line waiting to be picked up.

Royal Caribbean Terminal

By James C |

We boarded our cruise ship through the RC Terminal. The directions in the port were detailed and easy to follow. Parking was simple and relatively inexpensive. I would suggest taking a taxi to the terminal to avoid paying for parking.

A gem of a place

By rockytopgirl2 |

Cape Canaveral is a small community with great amenities. It has Jetty Park where you can watch cruise ships come and go, rocket launches, fush off the pier, camp, and take pleasant beach walks. Good for families.

Birthday cruise with Carnival Liberty

By Holly |

Staff is super friendly. Security is on point. Didn't have to wait that long to go through the lines and embark. Bathrooms are clean.

In port for the day

By Richard S |

Good port if you would like a lazy day, if not transfers easy to everything in Orlando 45 minutes away, or go 15 minutes the other way to coco beach. Not much else however directly by the cruise terminal apart from some very good sea food restaurants.

Company Refuses To Respond for Cancellation

By Eric M |

My cruise tickets were canceled. I have attempted to contact this company multiple times for four days in a row with no response. I have attempted email, phone calls to multiple numbers (where nobody answers or responds to voicemail, if you can even leave a voicemail because some of them are full), the company’s website, and Facebook Messenger. No response, no way to cancel and receive a refund. I am a Floridian and will never use the service again.

Auntie birthday

Cruising to the Bahamas with family, aunties birthday. Enjoy the shows enjoyed all the activities and sitting on the deck the pool and Jacuzzi hot tub was nice loved the dinners and entertainment.

Good Experience

By Ken B |

Being the second largest cruise port in the world - it's offers a very good experience. Dropoff and pickup by our offsite parking lot was quick and easy and a lot less expensive. We live in Cocoa, Fl and returning to port we enjoyed breakfast onboard, picked up our luggage in the terminal, cleared customs and were home by 9:00 AM. Never do that in Miami or Fort Lauderdale.

Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

By LLe0n |

The port was very well organized, and very easy on / off the ship!

As for the cruise itself...

Cabin 5347
Deck 5
Back of ship w/ balcony

First, our cabin was great! We had 4 adults. My husband and I had the king size bed, and our two adult children each and the individual beds… One of which drop down out of the ceiling. She had plenty of room up there with no issues. There were three closets, and plenty of shelf and drawer space. The bathroom was of course a Shipt bathroom, small, but doable.

We found the entertainment to be outstanding, the food to be good, and the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

We attended a cooking demonstration at the Steak restaurant, all of the stage shows, many of the comedy shows (we liked the PG shows better than the 18 & up shows- one can only take so much vulgarity), a lot of the trivia, karaoke, piano bar and other activities. All too notch!

Our team in the Main Dinning Room was outstanding- wish I could have brought them home with us!

We would definitely sail on the Sunshine again.

Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal

By Rob H |

Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal is a very busy place. The terminal is clean well organized and easy to access. They are very efficient and get thousands of people through the terminal and on the ship in a short time including all the luggage. The staff are all pleasant to interact with. The lines moved very quickly we were in and boarded the ship in less than 30 Minutes. We have used the Port several times and like it very much.

A lil upset

By Roving544825 |

I visited the port Nov 28 returning back from a cruise and it was a disaster! We had to switch terminals, which lead us to use a different terminal. You had the people that were heading out the same day trying to get in as we're getting out, traffic was backed up for miles. It just seems like they would have something better on place if you have use a different terminal

Cruise ship harbor

By Jerry S |

Good place to board a cruise ship with a lot of parking and some security. Seafood places to eat but not a lot else.

Parking excellent!

By Kim C |

We were not sure where to park when going on our Carnival cruise, but we chose to park at the Port. Most people are getting dropped off or taking shuttles, so we were able to park right on the main level. We went right in and came right out without traffic. We even lost our parking tickets somehow, and they only charged us for the four days and not any more. You know exactly where to go when you get there.

Drop

By Marie K |

We had a number of people and many bags as well as a lady with cancer and a lady with a stroke 3 months before . Easy in and easy out. Folks were helpful and happy

VETERANS/PARKING

By LASIMS |

Port Canaveral, great because its easy to get on a cruise. However all Disabled Veterans should be treated the same, We all wore boots.
The parking rate should already be a part of your cruise price. The price is ridiculous 🙄 .

Customs Well Organized, Fast and Efficient to board and get off Cruise Ship Carnival Breeze April 27 ,May 4, 2019

By Gene W |

The customs agents were polite, friendly, professional, thorough, and efficient. Much smoother process than the Port of Miami last year Port Miami was a nightmare. Thank you Port Canaveral Customs agents for making the boarding process bearable, as smooth and nice as possible.

My wife and I hope to book another cruise embarking from Port Canaveral in the future

Great transportation!

By Bettysac |

Access Line Transportation was wonderful for getting us from the port to MCO airport after our cruise. 8 adults, 4 children ages 1-5. (1 car seat and 3 boosters.) All our luggage and a medical scooter was packed easily. Driver was there waiting for us at the exact time we requested and got us all in and packed within minutes and off to the airport. We had plenty of time to make a noon flight.

Great Experience

By 334gregoryl |

Our first few cruises were out of Miami, because that’s what you do? Then I found this port! It’s amazing, so easy to get in and out, super fast boarding process once it starts! They have it down to a science.... thank you!

Carnival Sunshine

By Diane G |

We used a hotel in Cocoa Beach that had a shuttle to the cruise terminal. This makes it so much easier since they know exactly where to go. The port does seem well marked and the parking is convenient, but the cruise package from the hotel is a great deal and does not cost much more than the parking at the terminal. (and that includes the hotel stay!)

This cruise terminal is very well laid out and easy to get in and out of. Very efficient and quick access to the ship. I like cruising out of this location.

Very Organized

By keshort78 |

I was very happy with how organized things ran when we arrived on our shuttle from the hotel. The signs were clear, the traffic was controlled, and it was a quick process to arrive.

Second time there but this time with a cruise ship

By wp912 |

Place seemed to be a good cruise ship mooring. The are restaurants and some shops nearby as well as fishing charters and some special water related sports. It otherwise is a distance from anywhere, thus you would need to take a taxi or other transportation out of the port. I enjoyed one of the local restaurants and bought something from a souvenir shop. If it had walking distance to town it would have been a five instead of a four.

Smooth Operating Cruise Port

By Freda C |

I have departed from this port on a number of Carnival cruises. It was easy to get in and out of, and easy to get a taxi when I returned at the end of the cruise. It is close to Cocoa Beach and a short ride to Orlando and the Amusement Parks.

The staff are very professional and efficient, and boarding and disembarking has always been a a breeze here.

Great port of call

By Todd P |

We were in Port Canaveral on a one day call. We visited NASA. Close by. Very easy in and out, plenty of parking great direction .

Amazing Cruise

By Nigel B |

We have just done the 3 day cruise to the Bahamas all I can say is if you like a party ship for all ages this is so for you.
We went with young children and teenagers the service of all staff was just amazing.
We were on deck 7 highly recommend it with balcony on both rooms our evening meal was in the golden restaurant on deck 3 our waitress was lovely in fact no complaints on any of the staff.
We are from the UK so to do a cruise which most guests are American was superb always polite and chatty.
This is defo a party ship if you want a quiet one this is not it and yes we would all love to do this again.
Excellent Carnival service definitely one to do.

One of the best ports in Florida!

By tampabrat22 |

We have sailed out of Port Canaveral at least 10 times and every time it has been a pleasure. Parking is very convenient and is a quick walk across the street to the terminal. They have the embarkation and debarkation process down to a science! Everything runs very smoothly, lines have signs telling you where to go and it is a quick smooth process. They have large spacious terminals with plenty of seating and restrooms if needed. The workers are always friendly and helpful as well, everyone from the porters and security to the people who check you in.

Highlights of Port Canaveral Tour

One of the most relaxing trips yet

By Rob S |

We’ve cruised out of Port Canaveral several times in the past. This time was different, this time we were non-residents. We utilized the pre-cruise hotel/transportation package. Brilliant choice(see DoubleTree Orlando Airport review). Shuttle was clean, courteous driver, AND on time to the second. Port Royal Caribbean facility was immaculate, well staffed and efficient. From the time stepped out of van to time on ship 20 minutes. Disembarked the same way. Bus to airport pristine, driver greatest. Couldn’t have done it better. Definitely planning 2018 cruises in a similar manner!

Fun to watch the ships

By Diana R |

We went here recently to have lunch at a popular restaurant (Grills). We ended up waiting outside for a bit and watched two of the big cruise ships take off. We also saw a dolphin right near where we were standing by the dock rails. We enjoyed both.

Long Process!

By Maggi713 |

We were late arriving in this port due to the weather. Therefore, we were unable to do what we had planned which was to go to the Kennedy Space Center. We were struck by the size of this port. Evidently, it is the 2nd busiest multi-day cruise embarkation port in the world. There were already 4 other cruise ships docked when we arrived around noon. Since this was the first stop in the USA for the Queen Victoria, everyone, including the ship’s crew had to get off the ship and be screened by U.S. Border Inspectors.

This was a long and tedious process. There were over 3,000 people on our ship. They started at 1:00 PM. We got in line around 3:00 PM. No one was allowed back on the ship until after 5:00 PM. So, we stood in line to be checked by customs for a long time and then waited well over an hour in a terminal building before we were allowed back on the ship. Certainly it was not the best experience for anyone.

Nice place to visit

Easy to get in and out

This poet is extremely organized and straightforward. There are signs everywhere as to which ship is located where, and the parking garage is spacious and affordable. The winters are also knowledgeable and helpful.

Harmony of the seas cruise

By Christian R |

Checking was a mess. Everyone said it was their first day and kept sending us to the wrong place. Finally ending up with a woman who checked us in o. An iPad unfortunately she wAs not familiar with how to work or and needed two other people to help.

The ship is beautiful but a hot mess if you are planning to take it wait at least a month because this was the inaugural trip for Bahamas and they have a lot of work to do.
They now offer watched to replace your sail and sign card but they don’t tell you the don’t work everywhere like the dining room. You also need you card to turn on the room lights so don’t loose it. The food in the dining room is awful but the specialty restaurants are really good of course that comes at a 50-70.00 up charge per person. This is my second RCCL trio and my LAST

Easy cruise port

By Kelley N |

We cruised out of this cruise port last Summer. We rented a hotel room for a few days prior on Cocoa Beach and then we were minutes away from where we needed to be when it came time to board the ship for our week cruise. I live in FL so this is one of the easier cruise ports to travel to and from.

Best Terminal We Save Sailed Out Of

By 0ur_0pini0n |

The new CCL Mardi Gras terminal is the best terminal we have ever sailed out of. Very easy to find, parking was a breeze and we did not use the luggage drop off area. Once we parked on the second level we immediately found a porter who just brought out someone's luggage and gave him ours to take to the ship.

We went up to the 3rd level and over to the terminal and is was time for us to enter. We checked in and cleared the security within 10 mintues, took our pictures and headed to the waiting area. All employees and staff were extremely helpful, courteous and very friendly and kind.

The sitting area was very nice, the restrooms were spotless and extremely clean. Within in 30 minutes our zone was called and we boarded the ship after taking our photo ID for the ship. We were very happy and pleased with the way we were treated and got so quickly on the Mardi Gras.

Royal Caribbean you’ve done it again

By Brett F |

When going on a cruise you think of long lines and crowds all trying to check in and board. Well our family of 4 couldn’t have had a quicker or more easy boarding experience. The line was nonexistent, the staff were quick, friendly, and made us feel most welcome. The waiting area made it comfortable while waiting for our ship to be clear. The boarding itself went very smooth with staff pointing us in the right direction all the way. Upon our return we were off the ship and in our rental car in 30 minutes. You don’t get any better than that.

If it’s NCL Cruise AVOID this port

By M K |

Just endured a 4 hour clusterf*&! masquerading as disembarkation. Norwegian has no clue how to unload the Epic passengers into what is a poorly structured luggage and immigration area which congests quickly due to our highly efficient Border protection staff.

Thanks NCL for allowing me the pleasure of missing my flight (which you confirmed I would make using your airport transfer). And Mr Happy Happy Smiley Smiley at the curb you are little consolation as you pass the buck to blame the Border Patrol.

On the topic of passing bucks. The porter/extortionist racket is ridiculous - using a porter as a means to jump the line to access a government service is just plain wrong. Special needs assistance is one thing but the fact you packed more crap than you can carry is not reason to bypass the standard queue for entry.

So for the constructive feedback
- unload the color tags in the order luggage is laid out. People were having to collect bags from one end of room and then go “upstream” to get the exit queue.

-put he porters in a single area and restrict them to a single CBP officer lane.

- put more Norwegian staff in the exit area to keep the process moving and enhance your guest experience. The bulk of my negative experience starts with the terminal staff but the result ends at you NCL.

Winter Cruise on The Carnival Liberty

By Youtube.com/RixFlix |

This is the third time I've been on this ship, The Carnival Liberty. This time for just a short 3 day cruise for my birthday. A bit of a mix bag but over all a good trip. The comedians on board where awesome, all the shows were awesome, from PG to R rated. The broadway type show in the main theater is not so good. Our cabin was fine, we had a problem with the show at first but they fixed it right away. The food was good, the sit down dinners and the sit down breakfast (did not do too much of the buffets, but Guy's Burger Bar was awesome). Though it seems like the lessen the portions at the sit down breakfast. Plus they charge us $7 to delivery cookies via room service, they never did that before. There are several different ways to cruise, and we enjoyed cruising our way and will go on the Liberty again. You can see more about it on my youtube channel.

easy port to navigate and use

By Melanaka |

took a shuttle from cocoa beach to port and once there the process was quick and easy to get boarded. when we got back it was about as easy to get out of the ship and go through customs. I will definitely use this port again in the future.

Carnival Magic 9/24/2017

By Will W |

We arrived early to the port and were greeted by friendly faces and smiles. We paid for the Faster to the Fun and were escorted to our appropriate line to wait in. Funny thing, there was no line and no waiting. We went right up to the ticketing counter and did our paper work, received our Sail and Sign cards and were on our way in a matter of MINUTES! From arrival time to first tasty rum drink was not more than fifteen (15) minutes... MAX! The transitions were smooth and seamless. A great joy to board there.

Upon arrival back from our cruise, the event was equally as smooth. We debarked from the ship and found our luggage straight away and headed to the shuttle pick up area. Mild confusion at first, but we found where we were supposed to be and got our ride back to our car. A great pleasure!

best trip ever

By happydiner37 |

this was a surprise trip i had always wanted to go on a cruise, but i dont swim or like water, but i loved the thought of going to bed and waking up in a new place, but did not know if i could cope with being on the water. i was scared at first and the first day i could not go on the deck, but by the end i did not want to leave, it was amazing the food was 5 star like the staff after the first day they knew my name and were so friendly and could not do enough for me. it was not like being on a ship there was so much to do, carnival liberty was a great ship and i would love to go again.

Somewhat organized most of the Time

By LJS724 |

My last visit was a bit frustrating. When I arrived tot he Port, there was a long line of cars waiting to enter. The problem was that the usual area to unload luggage was backed up from another ship from the same line. A new makeshift location was used, but it had only two porters for the 100+ cars ready to get their vacation started. The line moved very slowly and of course there were the usual folks who felt they should not have to wait so the drove up and cut the line. No security to make things fair. Some travelers just jumped out of their car and walked thru this mess to get their bags checked. There were also workers trying to cross the lines. A messy start to my vacation.

Three convenient lots for parking

By KRose |

We used rightwayparking.com $88 for five days. Comfy ac shuttle to terminal and they handle your baggage to porters. Self parking with fenced lot. Would definitely use them again.

Majesty of the Seas - Royal Caribbean

By GeorgiaScout |

Ummmmm. RCL has literally cast this poor ship aside. We took the Christmas cruise and it was weak. No cookie decorating… no Christmas-y activities… nothing special on Xmas day like a candy cane in the room… yikes. We are loyal Norwegian cruisers and thought we'd try RCL for a short holiday family getaway. The cruise director Bobby and the staff really, really want you to give them a great review and everyday they ask you if you're having fun and to be sure to tell everyone you're having fun. If you already booked this cruise, here are the bright spots: Pay the extra $79/pp and do the Chef's Table. The Ventriloquist was excellent. Also, pay the $350 and reserve the cabana on Coco Cay - includes a cabana and accommodates 6, includes a nice private lunch buffet and your drink package works at the private bar. Beware of the following: Terrible pizza at Sorrentos. Like awful. And after 9pm, that's all that's avaiable on the boat. Period. The Windjammer which is basically their all-day buffet closes at 9pm (no midnight snacks for you). The friendliest and best bartender is Alexander in the Schooner Lounge - seriously, make it a point to find him. Bring lots of $1s -- the employees (obviously) respond better to a tip -- they are very nice workers but you can tell they are stressed - our hallway smelled of old toilet the whole time so there's no telling what the conditions for the staff are like. Honestly, if anyone from RCL management is reading this, you should really rethink operating such an old ship (which everyone kept saying is headed to dry dock for refurbishment in 2018) and letting it look so bad - from peeling carpet, to peeling paint, to backed up toilets -- this cruise experience made me realize how much I LOVE Norwegian - no matter the age of their ships, there is always someone painting, repairing, and otherwise upkeeping the ship everyday. We saw absolutely NO evidence of this on RCL. Will not cruise on RCL again.

Several fun restaurants sourcing a variety of foods. Seafood Atlantic has a dock - partly covered and serves great simply prepared seafood. They also sell fresh fish. Rising tide has some good food along with a ton of beers. Many of the restaurants The grill and gators have a decent view inside or outside of the channel so if you time it right you can watch the cruise ships and sometimes the space X recovery ships pass by.

We drive or bike there at least on w a week.

Park N Cruise Port Canaveral

By Erik V |

DO NO USE THIS COMPANY!
We had our vehicle parked with this company while we were on a cruise. Our vehicle was damaged on their lot while we were away, and after almost exactly one MONTH of us calling and calling, they finaly say they see from their camera footage that it is their fault but they won't pay for it.
They have video evidence that that damaged our car but refuse to pay for it. Stay far away from this company and tell anyone you know to do the same.

Just got back on Carnival cruise ship Sunshine

By DOUGLAS H |

I just got back from a nine day cruise with over 3,000 people. This was a charter cruise open to the public through a exclusive travel agent out of Austin TX, But it was Carnival who offer the services on the ship. We sail from Port Carnival we visit Half Moon, Ochos Rios Jamaica, Mahogany Bay Roatan & Cozumel mexico with 4 full day of fun at sea. The Food was great everyday was a different menu. The interior room and steward was excellent. Many choices on shore excursions. I only wish they had made it a longer cruise. I have been on carnival before but each ship is different. I will book again on Ship Sunshine.

Boarding for our cruise

By rimfire2018 |

Probably as organized as it could be to handle large crowds. Check in went fine but after that it got rocky. We purchased faster to the fun for easier boarding. We didn't hear it announced and asked an attendant. We were directed to another location to wait longer. Finally we questioned someone in a uniform and was told that we should have already boarded. We did but not much on apologies for the mix up.

We had a great time. The port is beautiful and was easy to maneuver around to get to where we needed to be.

Park'n'Cruise

By dheasty |

I have used them twice for cruises on Royal Caribbean and had excellent service. Quick trip to the port and baggage was handled very well getting onto the ship. I will continue to use them in my future cruises.

Enjoyable visit with many bars and restaurants

By DiverM |

We went by the pier and found many nice bars and restaurants. There are also some very nice parks near the Inlet. There is also another park nearby with locks.

Easy Access

By bonnie O |

Easiest port to get into. The port has everything from resturants, camping, beaches and hotels/resorts next door.

Disembark off Norwegian EPIC

By miss_quiet |

We docked here after our 14 day cruise on the Norwegian Epic across the Atlantic, great cruise btw the few problems we had was my husband as walking sticks it was hard for him to walk and finding a wheelchair was hard enough, no way could he of walked with his cases , in the end we got a wheelchair, then came to finding our cases took me ages and no one helped me as i had to get my husbands and mine 4 cases in total , it was a bit off a shambles for me , but the staff in the end was really nice and a guy carried our bags to catch a taxi to Orlando , but i must say it is a nice port

AWFUL!!! Majesty of the Seas RC Cruise to Cuba/Nassau

By M S |

DO NOT take this ship!! I am so disappointed that I have waited for over 2 weeks to post a review hoping I would be able to give a better review! This ship is OLD OLD OLD and RC should be ashamed of themselves for keeping this boat in operation. We stayed in a junior suite and it was just ratty. The linen was fair on the bed and the only saving grace was the outside balcony. Staff tried to make up for the terrible boat. Most were very nice.... The buffet was just deplorable and barely edible. I took the issue of the food up with the chef and I told him there were no excuses for such poor prepared food as casinos in Las Vegas feed thousands of people everyday doing quite great buffets!! Pool area was so small for the amount of people on board. Casino was just small and smoky!! Overall this boat is old and poorly kept!! Then to top it off RC decided to dock late around 11/12 in the morning for our Havana day and we were cute short on seeing much in the daylight !!! Totally unacceptable and of course they played this off as giving us night time adventure. What a waste as we missed half a day in Cuba!! IF I COULD I WOULD REQUEST A FULL REFUND!!! WORST EVER!!!

Royal Caribbean Port 10/10

By Michael C |

Royal Caribbean - Probably one of the best ports we’ve been to. Easy access from parking to the gate. Since it’s already a major tourist area, plenty of transport if you don’t want to drive.

The Cove Museum

By Brenda K |

We had an afternoon to putz around and The Cove was a great way to do just that.
We were able to take in a lot of the history of the area and also the view overlooking the port from many levels.

Port used but not consistent

By teresap118 |

Our cruise was coming into port late so signs said no one can come to port until 3pm. I have a platinum status with Carnival and asked when can I return as we can board sooner due to our status and was lied to. They said soonest was 2pm. Got back and port was packed since noon I found out. Then my luggage is supposed to be put in a rack separate from others for priority status members and one porter asked where is priority rack and another porter told her no priority just put it with the rest. NOT true. We always got them on priority racks in Miami and here in past. Did not get luggage until 8;30pm and it was elegant night the first night so no clothes. Our cruise got back early to port and still took customs 2 hours at this port to clear us to get off.

Be careful with taxis

By Shaun P |

We just got off a Royal Caribbean Cruise to the Bahamas, with us being from the UK we didn’t have no internet to locate our Uber driver. As we went to pickup point 8/9/10 there was already a Uber driver there claiming to be the one we booked. I asked our booking name and he said to show him my Uber app on my phone. He clearly seen my name and said it’s definitely us he’s here to pick up. I asked him what terminal I booked and he said terminal 1. But it’s terminal 7. With a few mins the police came, chased him off and pulled him over. Be really careful guys.

Great Service at Grills Seafood

By Debbie3232 |

We had a wonderful experience at Grills Seafood! We were a big group of eight plus two friends joined us after we had already ordered lunch. We sat outside close to the bar. The waitress , Rihanna was on her game. All our orders came out quickly and the food was delicious. I have to give it up to Rihanna for her friendly attitude and poise.

Very nice cruise on NCL out of Port Canaveral

By gg |

Loved the ship and the people who work on the ship. My only complaint is about Port Cavaveral drop-off baggage handlers. We dropped off our luggage upon arriving at the designated place, then parked the car. The baggage handler harrassed and badgered me over tipping. He stopped short of telling me I'd never see my bags again if I did not tip him.
I called NCL to report him. I was rudely told that this was not a NCL problem.

Very well run and efficient

By tjvikings |

Hi,

I thought the cruise line did a great job getting everyone organized, checked in, provided information and off. Much other than other places I have been.

Park Port Canaveral- Awful!!!!!

By acobbross |

We chose to park and ride on a shuttle service (Park Port Canaveral) to the cruise ship terminal. It was a terrible experience! This was our second time using them. Departing worked as planned. However, when we got off the cruise and made it through customs, and were in a crowd of 300 people. It was like The Hunger Games! People were literally fighting, pushing, barreling through other families to get on the next shuttle. We waited two hours to get on a shuttle. My son had an accident because we couldn't get back to the bathrooms after waiting in the heat for two hours. There was no organization or plan for loading people on. It was a FREE FOR ALL!!!! Buyer beware, you get what you pay for!!!! We talked to a Park Port Canaveral attendant and he said, "it's like this all the time..."
I will not be using Park Port Canaveral again!

Great Service

By Derrick S |

This has got to be by far the best service at any port. from the time we step off the bus to getting onto the ship was on point. The lines moved very quickly considering a few thousand people were at the port I am not sure if the credit belong to the port or Royal Caribbean I would use this port again

Just a port, everything to do is off site.

By Stefan L |

Came in on a cruise ship. Port is small and easily navigable. Taxis and shuttle buses are a short walk from ships.

Visited family in Coco Beach and taking a cruise.

By mariariegel |

I love the port . Restaurant are great. One of our favorites was Grills Seafood Deck & Tiki Bar. The Exploration Tower was nice.

Cruise Terminal we used to get on the Carnival Elation

By H5590TQmichaeln |

This was by far the smoothest port I have every used to board a crusie ship. From dropping off your bags before parking to getting on board it took less then 20 min! So well organized.

Disney Cruise

By DCLMom |

We have been cruising out of Port Canaveral since 2002 and it gets better every year. We have sailed out of other ports, but this one is one of the most organized. The Disney terminal is beautiful, lots of attention to details. We took a local hotel shuttle and it was easy to get into our terminal. We were early, but they allowed us to line up to wait for the gates to open. It was seamless getting through security and everyone was professional. After the cruise, it was easy to get off the ship and go through security. If you have a chance, it is fun to drive over to the port area to watch the ships sail out in the afternoon.

More signage needed

By Amy O |

The one time that we opted to park at the Port rather than do Park-n-Cruise, we found it difficult to get to the parking lot where we needed to be. The signage that they do have is small and not super clear.

The port needs to display ships and piers sooner

By Trudy V |

Port Canaveral needs to display, which ship is at which pier so that when you’re pulling in, you do not get stuck at the wrong pier and in mass traffic. They currently have the grouping displayed, but not the specific ship and Pier.

First cruise for kids

By Buc1978 |

We went to Port Canaveral for our cruise early in July 1st. The port has easy access off of A1A with signs directing cruisers to where they have to park. We were able to drop off our party at curbside along with our luggage while the driver parked the car. You don’t have to pay for parking until after you come back from the cruise. Arriving early is a plus because you get your pick of parking. The total time we spent parking and waiting to board the boat was probably about 45 minutes. A great place to leave from to go on a cruise and I would recommend it to anyone.

Cruiseship port.

By tammyBaltimore_Md |

It's not too bad when you're there for the day, pretty much in and out fairly quickly. Nothing really here accept transportation from point A to B. Nice views from atop of cruise ship of Cape Canaveral in the distance.

Bad parking situation made worse by other circumstances.

By Allen B |

This was not our favorite port. Once we got near the port, we were stuck in a line of traffic turning off the road into the gates for pier 5 & 6. The biggest delay that we could determine was caused by people not knowing what entrance to use when entering parking garage #5. One entrance was to park whereby you find your spot and then take your luggage with you, and the other was for people to unload their bags at the door of the garage and then go park their car. Since the big hold up was people farting around with their luggage at the one entrance, we opted to park and then deal with our luggage. Don't get me wrong, nothing wrong with dropping your luggage before parking: stop, open your doors and trunk and let them take your cases. But that's not what was going on. These people were stopping, getting out, opening cases and taking stuff out to carry on with them, repacking, no luggage tags, etc. But our way wasn't much better as it turned out. We parked, took our luggage back down to the first floor and then had to go back up to the second floor to get into the terminal before boarding. Better off sitting in the air-conditioned car waiting on the people going through their own cases than walking up and down in the hot garage.

Getting through the terminal itself was okay. When our cruise ended we again ran into some issues.

Then back to that crazy garage. When we arrived the signs said take your ticket and pay inside before returning to vehicle. When we returned we looked around to see where to pay and finally asked an employee. We were told the signs were wrong and had not been changed. You pay when your car exits. It took over 30 minutes to get out of the garage because: 1) it was difficult to find someone polite enough to let you pull out of your spot into the lane; 2) people went around the line to cut ahead a few cars (yes, even in a parking garage), and; 3) you guessed it, they couldn't find their tickets to pay!

Not much

By Jay B |

Zero to do at cruise terminal 10, not even a vending machine. You can't really walk anywhere either as there is no foot path over the drawbridges that lead to the small commercial area south of the docks.

If you like buying the cruise lines' shore excursions, this is the place for you.

Carnival built the best cruise port here.

By Joe |

Best cruise port ever. Carnival built an amazing port here for the Mardi Gras. Parking is easy and fair.

Excellent.

By Andres P |

Very well organized and the service was very efficient, professional and reliable. Will definitely book with them again on our next trip.

Awesome Port

By Angie S |

This was our 12th cruise and our first out of Port Canaveral. We really loved this port, it was easy to navigate and small enough to not get lost. We are going back next month. I would highly recommend leaving our of this port.

Excellent Terminal

By Laura M |

Efficient and organized. Good experience. The parking garage was well lit and easy to navigate. Very near the ships and staff was helpful.

Great place to relax and maybe even get some bucket list experiences accomplished!!!

By Nereida H |

Port Canaveral is a great place to get some rest and relaxation. You can walk along the beach at night or surf during the day. There are wonderful restaurants within 7 miles of the beach. You could visit NASA or take a dolphin sightseeing cruise. It has a little bit of everything. It is a wonderful place.

Huge terminal but nothing to do there

By Brissy2 |

The terminal is large but there’s nothing to see or do at the port. If arriving by cruise ship, best to either pre-arrange going on a tour (like the Kennedy Space Centre or visit Disney World) otherwise stay on board your cruise. We hopped on one of Cunard’s complimentary shuttle buses and visited Cocoa Beach (see separate review).

Easy process

By Randy S |

We have parked here before and it is more expensive than satellite parking lots but it is convenient. The staff at this site are well trained and are easy to work with. It is one of the easiest ports to get into and out of.

Once in a lifetime experience

By Patricia T |

We were in a cruise ship that docked here. How great was it that we were there to see a launch. We did our research and knew right were to watch for it. We had exactly the best spot to watch, it was amazing. I am sure it is a once in a lifetime experience! I loved that it took off at night, made it a spectacular sight.

Disabled Veterans parking free unless your not from Florida.

By Brian H |

Love Port Canaveral and the area around it with a couple exceptions. Port staff and security is hit or miss when it comes to attitude and/or professionalism with some being downright rude. The second is not treating Disabled Veterans equally, parking fees are waived for 100% Disabled Veterans with a Disabled Veteran tag, but only if the tag is issued by Florida. Basically alienating all other Disabled Veterans and making them pay full price. Doesn't seem like a very well thought out system and implying they don't care about Veterans coming from other states.

Great port to leave for a cruise

By Departure95755 |

Our experience was a good one using this port. We we're through security in a timely manner. It was organized, friendly and I would recommend using this port.

Rude, Improper Security

By Christina M |

I have never encountered such a rude security team before. A blonde lady, with piercings was yelling at the boarders and criticizing them to their faces, talking about them as if they weren’t 2 feet beside her.

Around 10:30 - 11 am, on September 19th 2025, my family and I were going through security. My grandparents are old, and have a lot of trouble hearing or moving.
My grandfather grabbed a bin to place his and my grandma’s stuff into, with a few loose articles at the bottom.

The blonde security lady with piercings started yelling at everyone that they don’t need bins. She grabbed everyone’s stuff that were in bins and rudely dumped them out and placed the bins beside her on the opposite side, out of reach.

She then yelled anything in a bag can go through without a bin and loose articles should go in the bin. After rudely dumping everything out grabbing people’s stuff, she noticed there were some loose articles with my grandparents’ stuff. She just ignored the fact, didn’t give them a bin back, and told them to place it in one of their bags.

I don’t think rudeness to boarders, over the fact that you really just don’t want to do your job, should be tolerated.

She then said to her partner on the belt, while standing no more than 2 feet from us, “I wouldn’t have to yell at everyone if they just listened to me” and made a remark to herself about how stupid people are.

She was not helping the process of going through security at all, instead she thought yelling, being rude, and making snappy remarks to people’s faces would make the boarders do her job for her and make her job easier. And when she took someone’s bin by mistake that had loose articles at the bottom, rather than giving them a bin back (acknowledging she was wrong) she just told them to put it in their bags.

I’m disappointed in this kind of treatment.

2 stars because other employees her were nice and helpful. Carol at check in was extremely kind and helpful and patient.

Best place to cruise from!

By Trump2020 |

We cruise at least twice a year and out of all the ports we have been to we really enjoy Port Canaveral. It has great parking and nice staff every time we go.

First time catching a cruise here

By Lily Y |

Signage was good, accurately directing the way to the cruise ships. Taking a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean on the Roysl Caribbean Oasis of the Seas. Check in was smooth, with the lines moving quickly.

Actually nothing to do!

By Hampton Gourmet |

We went on a cruise and Port Canaveral was one of our stops. It is a great stop to leave out of but not for a stop! If you do not do a shore excursion you might as well stay on the ship because there is nothing around there.

Carnival Magic Dec cruise

By Diane G |

We used a hotel in Cocoa Beach that had a shuttle to the cruise terminal. This makes it so much easier since they know exactly where to go. The port does seem well marked and the parking is convenient, but the cruise package from the hotel is a great deal and does not cost much more than the parking at the terminal. (and that includes the hotel stay!)

Check in process was quick and easy, we got to the terminal at 11:00 am and we were on the ship by 11:15 am. This was the quickest we have gotten through all of this.

Arrange transportation; taxis and Ubers are 2x more expensive leaving Port Canaveral

By Gregsky |

We took an Uber XL from Orlando to Port Canaveral for around $100. Our return journey was $275. Driver told use that rates are doubled. Total rip off. Would have been better to rent a car and park it for the week. Carnival shuttle to MCO is $35/person; for 5 of us, would have been $175; a $100 savings. Crazy!

Great experience!

By VANXL |

Port Canaveral is located 45 miles east of Orlando, and is one of the country's fastest-growing and most popular cruise ports. If your cruise sets sail from Port Canaveral near Orlando, Florida, you'll be just one hour from Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios -- but there's much more to see and do than the parks. Cruisers can take shore excursions out to the Kennedy Space Center and nearby beaches where dolphins, manatees and turtles swim the waters.

long lines

By 1613km |

Long lines to get in and long lines to check into TSA security. Have more security we waited hour and half at the time we were told to come to the port. It was hot and long! Parking garage is convenient but very pricey, park in off port lots!

Disney Cruise highly organized

By McFerrid |

The boarding process and the debarkation process is highly organized. It’s fantastic that with Disney, you can have your bags taken from outside your state room and checked all the way through to your final destination. The process is available for major airlines with Southwest Airlines a major exception. Otherwise, your bags are waiting for you at customs and plenty of porters are available to help you push your bags through to a waiting bus. I don’t know how the process works with the other cruise ships at the port but it is a major advantage with Disney.

Great Cruise Port

By Whitney M |

Have used this port only once but plan on using it again this year. It was much better than other ports I have used. Easy drop off and pick areas. Unloading area was easy to navigate and parking was under a garage. The terminal was very big and easy to get around. Line to get on the boat went very fast as well as the check in process. You do have to pay depending on the number of nights for your cruise but there are other options for parking or you can use a hotel shuttle.

Easy to access Cruise terminal. Took shuttle from off service parking lot. Super quick trip getting too and from. Safe with security and well taken care of.

Arrived for Disney Dream Cruise

By mrsjclarke81 |

OMG the porters are opening the boot of the car as you arrive (we were in a taxi) taking our bags out, as we were getting out of the car with our 3 children aged 11yrs 10yrs and baby 1yr old they were begging us for money and we felt like if we didn't give them money would would not see our bags again.

We will NEVER be coming here again!

Parked my car here for a week while I went on a Disney cruise. Way cheaper than the Disney parking garage. I dropped the family and luggage off at the Disney terminal then headed back to Park n Cruise. Dropped off the car with now issues. They let you park your car. i bought a cover for my car...doubt I needed it...only $10...they helped me put it on. Only a 5 - 10 minute drive to/from the Disney Terminal...very close. Shuttle took us back to the car after the cruise. Car was fine. Nice staff. Easy to get in and out. We had no issues.

Carnival Magic Cruise to Celebrate Friend's 50th Birthday

By Annette B |

I went on the 7 day western Caribbean cruise and was very disappointed. The food was awful and the best thing to eat on the cruise were the hamburgers. Most food during in the formal dining room was undercooked and/or cold. The drinks were mixed with a lot of mixer and you couldn’t taste any alcohol. I will plan to not take Carnival Magic again when taking a cruise. I was very disappointed and don’t recommend that anyone use this company.

Unreliable reservation management

By Cheps |

Had cruise dates moved, and called port canaveral parking to update reservation and left message. Kept calling until someone picked up on the same day of reservation, but they claim it was too late. Planned to use their services for the new cruise dates. Not anymore.

Our family recently enjoyed a fabulous Disney cruise which left from Port Canaveral. Very well organized with friendly staff this port made the beginning of our family vacation a pleasant one.

You won’t find another destination more memorable!

By Christopher S. |

My wife and I thought we’d take a visit and explore the area… first trip in 2017. There is so much to do while touring on a family or couples vacation. One activity that stands out the most, is the endless number of charter fishing opportunities that depart from the marinas. As a fishing couple, we were “hooked” immediately! I didn’t do a lot of research on who we should hire for a deep sea opportunity, so we took a chance on one service that sounded pretty cool. WOW… did we get lucky! FIRED UP CHARTERS is who we decided to head out to sea with, in search of a LARGE, salt water fighter. We didn’t catch one… we caught over 30! Various species weighing between 15 to over 100lbs! We saved a few for dinner and were informed by the captain that certain restaurants in the immediate area would prepare our filleted catch! I couldn’t move my arms for a week, but it was worth every turn of the reel!

To make a long story short, we have developed long lasting friendship’s with this family owned business. I suffered a very bad injury at our home in WV and never thought I’d be able to reel in a heavy, fighting fish again in my lifetime. The owner (has three vessels), outfitted one of his boats with an aft, captains chair, electric reel, etc. to try and help me reel in these monster’s. It worked!! This was very expensive for him to accomplish and as a whole, you’ll find most fishing outfitters, restaurants, tours of NASA and so many other attractions that will put smiles on your faces and experience your visits memorable.

I know I sound like a website author trying to bring visitors to this wonderful place, but now we go every year and are determined to find a retirement home in this area (hurricanes or not). Some other highlights of our trips have been proposing to my wife, hosting family and friends, watching my children grow on the beaches and so much more!

Please, visit Port Canaveral and their neighboring coastal communities… you will always find something to do to create some fantastic memories!

The most organized Cruiseport out there

By Lita R |

My husband and I travel many many cruises each year. We prefer to go out of Port Canaveral due to their ability to get gas in and out quickly and safely. Everyone at this port is very helpful and willing to go above and beyond to make sure you have the best experience possible. The only downfall to this port like many other ports the porters are very grabby from money and if you don't tip them enough or at all they tend to get an attitude with you.

Port is fine, but disembarkation warning if you carry your own luggage-

Just off the NCL Epic today in port Canaveral. NCL did a great job of embarking so many people, but getting off was the worst I've ever been through. Not sure NCL has any responsibility, but it appeared the terminal staff and porters have a bit of an extortion racket going on.
My friend and I chose to do the walk off disembark. We learned long ago it's easier and quicker to pack light and be self-sufficient when getting off NCL ships. They had announced onboard those who walk off with their things would have no luggage assistance. Fine, that is the point of doing it.
For some reason there were only two officers clearing passports so the lines were incredible. 1 1/2 hours for us to get out. On the gangway, we were directed to the area for people who have all their luggage. Then we saw the porters coming in a back door and asking people to let them help. Those who agreed were allowed to follow the porters around everyone else to the front of the line. The terminal staff allowed this. In fact, when several of us decided not to let the porters cut in front of us, the staff made another way for them to get by, opening a whole empty isle for them. The porters then proceeded to walk by us and a few taunted us and said they could get us out of the line. One told me, "I'll be back by. You'll get tired of this" Then one of the porters spat on the luggage of a man in front of us. I'm from Florida and I was ashamed and embarrassed by this scamming and low-class behavior. If we paid them and pretended we needed help, we too could have been out in a few minutes but it wasn't fair to the other passengers. When we complained to a lady in a suit directing traffic, she said she'd get her supervisor, but never returned. Just be warned if you sail from Port Canaveral NCL terminal.

Easy access port

By silverbrook |

We cruised Carnival out of Port Canaveral this past February and had no problems getting to our ship. Leaving the ship and getting transportation from the port to our hotel in Cape Canaveral was a little trickier and somewhat chaotic. The customs area took a bit of time to get through if you did not pay for a porter to assist you with your luggage. To get a taxi or shuttle to a nearby hotel you give your name and number in your party to someone near the customs exit and then they have you wait on a median until your car arrives. Be sure to follow up with the person to ensure you get your transportation in a timely manner - we waiting approximately an hour for ours. It seems like it may be better to try to prebook before sailing if you are able rather than trying to arrange after leaving the ship.

Very organized

By LisaR91011 |

The only reason I rated it a 4 is because they stopped doing prepaid parking. Please bring this option back.
.When we cruise I like to prepay taxes, gratuities, parking etc. No surprises when we get back to port.
Everyone is so friendly and super helpful, I love cruising out of Port Canaveral!

If You Want Fabulous Fresh Fish!

By boby |

Just as we remember from a couple years ago! We were there when the boats were coming in late in the afternoon and tat was a delight. We were seated outside, but you’ve got to come early if you want a spot. Wait staff is truly awesome, as is the food. Drinks are great. They even have burgers, but why would you want a burger in this setting?!?! Go for the great fish at Fishlips!

Easy Access to Cruise Ships

By Ocean-Traveler55 |

We really like the easy access to the cruise ships at Port Canaveral. We parked at Parking Port Canaveral and after a short ride we were dropped right at the cruise ship and our luggage was quickly loaded and we were on-board the cruise ship in less than 5 minutes. Very quick - very easy - very efficient!

Taxu Service

By Morton C |

I had a flight out of Orlando I was in Port Canaveral I was very stressed to make sure I met my flight I booked this taxi for 6.45 am The driver was early He called me about 6.30 am to tell me he was at the port. He took my stress level down to zero He got me to the airport promptly Based on my experience I would recommend this company.

Nice cruise terminal with friendly staff

By Mike P |

Cruise terminal for Royal Caribbean was clean and tidy. Easy to navigate and checkin was a breeze. Coming back off was a terrible long wait... only 2 lines open in customs... waited almost an hour and a half in customs line. Other than that, would sail from here again!

Racial profiling

By Cruiser51632444638 |

If you’re a minority beware of this port! My mother and I were racially profiled after our 8 day trip on the Carnival vista. Any experienced cruiser knows that you go through customs and straight out the door. And that was my experience for the first 8 trips I’ve taken until today! I guess they have a security room at port canaveral and for my first time as well as my moms we were stopped and taken into the room. Mind you multiple other guest are casually rolling their luggage out the door after getting cleared by customs. I believe because we were 1/100 black people coming through customs we were selected for this process. THIS IS RACIAL PROFILLING. Do better port canaveral!

Interesting but small scale

By paull2002 |

Aside from the Exploration Tower there is not much in the way of sites to see. The tower has several floors and the exhibits are interesting. The views from the observation deck at the top are quite worth the short elevator ride. There are some really good places to eat. Next to the newest terminal is the Grills. I have eaten there many times and I always enjoy the Mahi sandwich. They have an outdoor Tiki bar and an elevated deck where you can watch the cruise ships sail out starting around 4pm. Service is good but the place is usually crowded as it is quite popular.

Very convenient location for a cruise.

Very convenient location for a cruise. Plenty of rental car and hotel options nearby. Easy access from rental car companies.

Excellent Food & Service

By Kris H |

I love Sofia's Cafe! I go there at least once a week and even tho the staff may not have Perfect English the food speaks for itself. This food is very authentic and delicious! I have always been extremely satisfied every time I've ordered and have been greeted with a smile! Shame on those of you who left negative remarks regarding the English skills.

Arrived approximately 8:45. Prebought tickets on internet. Entered facility at 9 am. Suggest taking bus tour included in admission first

Parking nightmare

By cfitmv |

Once you get to the terminal area, you are narrowed down to 2 lanes: drop off and parking. Problem is, EVERYONE is going into those 2 lanes including all the shuttle buses and RV's so it becomes jammed. On top of that, there is only 1 person directing traffic so when you finally get to the front of the line you have to roll down your window and tell him where you want to go. Then he will tell you which line to get in. From there it all went smoothly but we paid (prepaid, I should add) $128.00 for the 7 days to park. You can do it cheaper, but your car is left in an open lot, they keep your keys (not for me) and they take you too the terminal.

Smoothly run operation for Disney Fantasy Cruise

By Louise M |

We boarded Disney's Fantasy at Port Canaveral and were very impressed at how quick and efficient we were processed and boarded. We had a large group of eleven, and everyone appreciated not having to wait around with the three little ones for too long in line. From the time we pulled up at the curb and were helped immediately with our luggage to the actual boarding there were no snags of any kind.

Norweigan Cruise

By CC2U |

Fun Place to Visit

By Radrev |

The port has many things to do such as boat rides, cruises, fishing, surfing, swimming, walking, dining, etc. Come here for a good day with plenty of options for food and fun. We have enjoyed it here on many occasions, we even camped here one time.

Easy!

By txde |

We used this port for a Carnival cruise in March 2018. Returning our rental car was very easy, from there we took the shuttle. Embarkation was very smooth, staff was friendly. Same for disembarking, it only took minutes until we were off the ship. When we had disembarked, we even had to wait for a couple of minutes until the first rental car Shuttle arrived, since we were simply very early.
Overall I prefer Port Canaveral over Port of Miami.

Get a different job

By DivaTe |

At first everything was going good through the line until we were almost at the window we encountered a rude line rep name Jose he refused to speak just kept pointing to my daughter very rudely and my daughter said where do you want us to go and still refuse to speak but rudely pointing my daughter politely said sir I don't know why you're not speaking but I don't know where you want us to go then he started yelling at her not realizing we were her parents I mean yelling all in her face by now I'm trying to get his attention I'm saying hey hey stop it hey and he's loosing his mind and just ignoring me I'm telling him that's our daughter what's your problem he responded to me by saying "So I don't care "and continue to scream so now my husband is trying to intervene this guy starts ranting negatively about blacks and saying all sorts of things. It's obvious what the issue is now he doesn't like black ppl. Well I tell you what Jose if you don't like blacks and don't want to interact with us go back where you came from because we're not going anywhere. Orlando don't have to worry about us using their port again because we won't not if I can help it. We travel a lot been crushing for over twenty years and I can't remember a time someone in customs has ever treated us so blantany disrespectful

Norwegian is the worst!

By Bill B |

**NOTE-After I sent the following letter to NCL, they responded with a form letter just saying sorry.

I am a Gold Latitudes Member, and I have taken nearly 20 cruises in my life.
However, my most recent cruise on NCL Epic was the worst cruise I have ever been on for the following reasons:

1) NCL called and asked that we not show up at the port until after 2pm EST. We showed up at 2:30pm and waited in line for over 3 hours without any NCL reps giving a reason why. This was unacceptable and we then didn't leave port until after 8pm, thus missing any sail away party that normally occurs. We were told by port employees that NCL could have avoided this fiasco had they brought the ship in the evening before, but they didn't want to pay the extra fees. So instead, we were penalized and missed a day of our cruise.

2) Poor service: The service on this boat was not up to the standards I have come to expect with NCL. One evening at dinner in the Manhattan room, a customer (12 yr old boy with bowtie) was told he could not eat in the room because he had on shorts (I will add that they were dress shorts). However, outside of the dining room the sign said that shorts were allowed. After being seated, we were then told that we would need to leave because our children were also in dress shorts. I understand dress codes should be enforced. However, if the sign reads that nice shorts are ok, then what is the issue?

3) Tendering: We were never notified that we would need to book a reservation to tender into NCL's private island. Upon dropping the anchor, we called the front desk about how we could book reservations, and we were told that we would have to wait 2 1/2 hours to get on the private island. If tenders are required, it should be in bold print that you must book them.

4) Customer service: NFL fans repeatedly requested to have Cowboys and Eagles football game on the Atrium big screen and were told by bar staff and guest services that screen was in use. However, nothing was occurring in the Atrium during game and screen was not being used. The O'Sheehan’s area was much too small for all the fans. Furthermore, the H2O screen could have been utilized and wasn't after many requests. Many people ended up watching NFL day games on the Royal Caribbean boat that was using outdoor screen next to our ship in Nassau. On previous NCL cruises the NFL games have always been on the Atrium big screen.

5) Inattentive Staff: During our time at the pool it was nearly impossible to find a drink server, and we would have to walk to the bar and stand in long lines.

Do yourself a favor and go with Royal Caribbean!

The Definition of Clusterbuck

By Mike B |

First time cruisers but far from first time travellers to destinations in the Caribbeans and Mexico so we know something about potential clusterbucks.

Impressive to arrive and see the line of cruise ships. However, that fades as you step off the shuttle into the mass of baggage and people meandering about waiting in line to get on a cruise ship (we were on the NCL EPIC January 13-20). Not sure if this is an NCL EPIC or Port thing however it was a seeming disorganized marshalling process from start to finish until we were finally allowed on the ship - 3 hour process and we are on vacation standing in line wasting our time in my opinion.

Disembarking was even more of a complete cluster and we walked off carrying our own luggage by 8:00 in the morning. The porters - my god, really! Staff that can not relate to where the taxi's are waiting? We're not morons and quite clearly some of the staff are English as a first language challenged with a good dose of rudeness added in for the fun. I guess by then NCL had our money and we were of no use any longer so navigate at your peril, good sir. Took us over 2-hours to get out of that zoo.

So, not sure what purpose is served by having 4-6 cruise ships arriving and departing within the hour of each other but it surely as heck is not for the Port customer experience by any means. The entire Port experience was enough to make us seriously question going on another cruise - it was that much of a gong show. And, I am being very guarded with my comments.

Kind

Interesting place, when we were there, the newest RCL Wonder of the Seas was there, very impressive. Overall, there are also a few harbor bars that you can visit and you can take a helicopter ride over the harbor. Overall, the cruise terminal made a very good impression.

Best port to travel from. Makes NYC look like a 3rd class country. Carnivals new area is the best ever.

Cruise Cruise Cruise

By parsch2016 |

My wife and I have cruised out of Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, P{ort Canaveral, Jacksonville, Charleston, New York, Los Angeles and San Diego. By far, Port Canaveral is the best cruise port to cruise out of. They have things down so that there is a flow and the lines don't get bogged down.

MSC Meraviglia

By Steven S |

It was a breeze getting on MSC Meraviglia at terminal 10. Parking was not bad either. At first it looked like it was full. Went up to 3rd floor and there were plenty of spaces.

Great Organization

By beach2011_11 |

Visited here to take a Carnival Cruise. It is very well organized and directions to your applicable port are very easy to follow. While parking might be a few dollars more than offsite locations the difference is money well spent. Easy walk through check in and onto ship !!

Nice Port

By Alexandra H |

We recently went on a Carnival cruise out of this port, it was very clean, and easy to get around. They had it very well set up so that everyone knew where they were going. Would recommend going out of this port.

Parking for cruise

By Natalie M |

We parked Pier 10 covered parking for Norwegian Cruise. It was little more $/day, but we needed to hit the road Right after disembarking and not wait for a shuttle. Easy & Quick.

Cruising Again

Went on a honeymoon cruise to Nassau, had not been on a cruise since before the pandemic it was a great trip. The ship was older but it was a excellent experience.

RCCL - Majesty of the Seas (horrible)

By GastronautTraveler |

I was raised believing honesty was the best policy. Not so on this ship!

Before the ship ever left the dock, I found $120 outside next to the topside cafe. Somebody I presumed would be looking for the money, So I took it to guest services and gave
them my room number and name. Before we departed on the last day, I checked to see if anyone claimed the money. After some checking with “supervisors” the answer was no. I then inquired if I would get the money I found that no one claimed. The answering shocked me - a big fat NO. We’re keeping it. Unbelievable - how shameful!!! RCCL you dh

While the service (read personnel) was outstanding there are many negatives! Cruise Director and his team did an outstanding job trying to revive up the excitement level - kudos! Our steward (Antonio) and dining room team (lead by Iwayan and supported by Khezia) were also fabulous - again kudos! But, this is where the story changes/ends. Pool side - seriously? From the smokers whose “stink” and cigarette smoke seemed to be everywhere (read nearly impossible to enjoy either the pool deck or the one above it), to the ridiculously small pool for 2,500+ passengers (barely larger than my pool at home), to the four hot tubs that had 8 people in each one nearly around the clock (read impossible to relax and enjoy), to the “Golden Corall” of the seas buffet (yes that’s what the “buffet” was like), to the casino or anything near it that reeked of cigarette smoke (why DON’T you keep those doors closed???) and finally the coup de gras was cancelling the RCCL owned island visit. I understand the safety concerns (I’m a retired Naval Officer). Following swells made it impossible to safely land/dock the small boats/barges used to bring people to/from the ship and shore. That part I get and understand. But hundreds of us, if not close to 2,000 were absolutely crushed we could not get ashore. And what did the “magnanimous” RCCL do? Beyond, we’re sorry we cannot take you safely ashore - NOTHING! At the very least what could you have done! How about one free round of drinks? Or how about free WiFi for everyone for the last 24 hours of the cruise? Nope. Nada, zip, zilch, NOTHING! Why did I rate the overall experience a 7? Good question, I may to rethink that one.

P.S. Will I travel RCCL again? Jury is out. It’s pretty much up to RCCL.

First time visitor - not all that impressive

By M3rmaid1028 |

Was there on a stopover to the Bahamas & got the chance to check the town out. Not bad, but nothing to write home about either. Just a bunch of touristy stores and a McDonald's that had the largest iced coffee Id ever seen! Haha

Be careful when exiting for cruises

By Bob Angry |

This is a nice area to visit and some of the local restaurants provide cruise ship views. If you are arriving at the Port for a cruise from the south, double check before you arrive which part of the Port your ship is docked. There are cruise terminals on both the south and north portions of the Port.

Royal Caribbean Majestic

By Valerie D |

First, Worst cruise of my life!!! This was totally over rated and never again!!! First off before going through security at the port this elderly woman who works there which I didn't get her name was very rude to us and everyone else who dealt with her on Monday morning!! The ship was suppose to port out at 4:30 but ended up porting out at 10:30 that night!! I was ready to get off this ship!! All the food was horrible!! From the main dining to the buffet!! This was a total waste of my 29 yr wedding anniversary!! Never ever again with royal!! Maybe Carnival possibly in the future!!!

Port Canaveral - NOT IMPRESSED

By Joe M |

Not much to see. The customs agents we dealt were rude and bossy, kind of reminds me of the TSA in the airports.

First cruise - great experience!

By Hannah S |

Was very easy to get into the parking garage, drop off our luggage, then find parking. Once in the building, the security and check in lines moved very quickly and efficiently. Once through security, while waiting to board the ship, we sat in a comfortable waiting area with plenty of bathrooms and complementary water. Great boarding experience - great start to my first cruise!

Easy to get to from orlando

By Passenger68344797436 |

Parking is a little outrageous, ie 90 for 3 days. Boarding for Carnival wven with a designated time to at least 2 hours outside in line. And another hour inside..

Carnival Sunshine Christmas Cruise 2017

By kdfowler70 |

One of our favorite ports of all time! We love this port. Always friendly, well informed and helpful porters, employees, etc. We paid ahead for our parking at the port and always feel comfortable knowing our vehicle is safe and sound during our trip. The ONLY complaint and I'm not sure the Port would be responsible or Florida DOT, but the signs and organization of directing cars to the proper parking for their cruises could be better thought out and marked.

Mixed review this time

By GA_resident |

We have used Park n Cruise 3 times now. The last time was 2 years ago and the place had really done a good job organizing the lines for the shuttles (signs telling which line was for what ship, queues so you got on a shuttle in the order you arrived, etc). NOT THIS TIME. On this visit, we were told that all cars were valet parked and that we should get our luggage and "stand over there". There was no one to tell us where we were supposed to be. Then when a shuttle arrived, other people who had just arrived jumped ahead of us. For goodness sake, set up a queue! Second, our driver to the port was horrible. She narrowly missed slamming into a line of stopped traffic and I am not exaggerating. Once we did arrive in port, all she did while unloading our luggage was complain about the porters and how they were lazy and didn't want to do their jobs and they were overpaid union workers and on and on and on. One of the porters simply walked away from our shuttle because she was berating them so much. She even told us no not tip the porters because they were overpaid anyway. Seriously? They don't want to move luggage from your shuttle because you treated them like dirt. I was embarrassed to be on the shuttle. Now the good and conflicting part of the review. When we returned to port, our driver was very polite and helpful. And the big surprise... when we arrived at the lot expecting to hand over tickets and have valets running to get our cars, we found that someone called ahead and all of our cars were lined in a row with the trunks and rear hatches open ready for us to load up. Talk about convenience! So, if the driver had not been rude to porters (and almost killed us) and there was more organization getting to the port, this place would be a winner. But I am still unsure whether I will use them again. 2-3 star experience this time.

Nice Place

We went to a couple of resterants, The bait Shop and a couple of fishing trips there and the place is outstanding

Nothing much to see here. Just your average port. Bunch of restaurants over looking an industrial scene if that's your kind of thing. If you're a nature lover like myself, don't waste your time.

My favorite cruise port

By thetompsons57 |

My husband and I enjoy cruises and have cruised in and out of many major ports in the past couple of years, and so far, my absolute favorite is without a doubt the Port Canaveral cruise port.
It's well organized, and well equipped to handle the huge amounts of people arriving and departing here daily. It was recently re-done, and I can honestly say that the improvements are great and very noticeable. It feels nice and new, and is a joy to cruise in and out of. Overall a very nice experience. This will absolutely be our new go-to port for any and all of our upcoming cruises, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to start off their cruise in a pleasant way.

Great quiet cruise port.

Easy to read signage. With a clean fresh landscape look. They offer a couple low key excursion options.

Awesome Port

By 0ur_0pini0n |

Went out on the NCL Epic, easy to find, porters waiting to take your bags. Extremely smooth check in and an easier departure.

Used the luggage porters going off the ship, and didn't have to wait in the long custom line. Got quick access to an individual custom agent. Totally recommend Port Canaveral.
