The stadium was full for the Hugh Jackman show!

By MattKauf |

Hugh Jackman, his orchestra, dancers, singers and choir were AMAZING! The place was full and yet entry, through a fast moving and thorough security presence made entry easy and not too time consuming.
We had seats in Section three, which was directly opposite the stage on the opposite side of what must usually be the rink. Mr. Jackman's team set up huge monitors controlled by banks of computers and people controlling every aspect of the evening. The show stared right on time, 7:30 PM and ran until 8:40PM for the first and only 20-minute intermission. He cam back at exactly 9:00 PM and stayed on stage, with unending energy until 10:30PM. He introduced his wife, played with several members of the audience, a 97 year old gentleman, a 3-large beer can bartender and a 5 year old, Lucas, dressed in a ringmaster suit.
What a wonderful show!
At the end, he thanked the audience for coming, spending money for the tickets, parking, dinner and babysitters, to let us know that we were appreciated and that is why they worked as hard as they did to show us.

Bon Jovi This House is Not For Sale Concert

By 246janicen |

Excellent venue! Show was fabulous. Jim Bon Jovi gets even better with age. Highly recommend this concert tour!

Very nice complex

By J A T |

Attended Devils hockey games and a concert and like the venue but the location is not the best. Traffic in an out can be heavy.

Pens-Devils

By Chris D |

Good hockey venue, playoff atmosphere, we stayed at the Hilton Penn Station 7 minute walk easy to get to

Great Place For Concerts Sounds Are Superior. Plenty of Off Site Parking, With The Downtown and Eating Places in Walking Distance.

The Downtown Center

By Thomas V |

You will find a skyscraper and a plaza here, a center of the downtown in this tired city. Not all that impressive.

Graduation

By 19Andre67 |

Great University of Phoenix graduation location. It provided ample parking and easy access in and out the center.

concert

By marc d |

parking is horrible, very few places to eat close to Center and sometimes the main restaurant is closed during concerts .

Great concert venue!

By ebs0303 |

Saw Hall and Oates and Tears for Fears here, Arena was very nice, sound quality was good. Had a good experience at the concert.

Utterly confusing to try to get into the arena for a concert. There’s no line! Just a crush of people.

By Laurel M |

The Prudential Center is a typical hockey arena. Same seating plans, same overpriced food and drink items. Nothing special about it. What was absolutely appalling was trying to get into the venue to see Bruce Springsteen on April 14. The show was scheduled for 7:30 and we were there at 6:30. It appears there are 2 entrances to get in with 3 doors each. We were at the Edison Place entrance and it was shocking the amount of people trying to get in. Where is the line? None. Just everyone crowding around pushing their way forward. Everyone coming from different directions and joining the mob. Some people trying to get through to get to the Box Office entrance. Good luck with that. No one knew what was happening. Glass bottles were falling on the concrete, one man was extremely angry and yelling at a woman for ? trying to budge in? But there’s no line! Thankfully no fight broke out. I can see how people getting crushed to death at sporting events happens. You couldn’t move!

Once we got to the door, we quickly passed through security and had our tickets scanned. It was now 7:47. Luckily the show hadn’t started but when it did shortly after, I’m sure there were still many fans stuck in the crowd outside waiting to get in.

How is it possible for the Pru to allow this to happen? Not only is it frustrating and confusing, it’s downright dangerous. I, and all those I talked to while waiting outside, have never seen anything like this at any other stadium or arena or concert venue. I will never, ever go to the Prudential Center for a concert again.

A Winner

By suitcasehandy |

Went there for a hockey game. Good sports type food. 100 level seats...could see perfectly. Plenty of restrooms and no long lines!

Devils vs. Predators

By Roger W |

The Prudential Center is home to the New Jersey Devils, a team from the NHL. We attended the homegrown Devils game against the Nashville Predators there. The stadium is located in the middle of the city. We had great seats and the atmosphere was great due to the Devils' good performances. The places were comfortable. As usual there are many places to eat, but as usual the whole thing is priced in the upper range. Nevertheless, we had a great evening and can only say go Devils!

Cheap seats aren't worth the price

By acfan3 |

My husband and I went to see Michael Buble. As we are retired and didn't want to spend a fortune we got seats high up. We brought binoculars but expected screens to see better. Well, the placement of the screens were poor and they only used them for some of the performance. Not enough for us to truly enjoy the show. We will not be back. Also, parking was very expensive.

Great place!

By Trinityofsix |

Very convenient by public transportation or car - Train and bus depot 2 blocks away, several exits on NJ Turnpike put you right there. Very pretty inside and clean. Small enough so no seats are bad. Speaking of seats- good leg and hip room, they just need reupholstering. Acoustic was great! Not so loud sound is distorted. Good time can be had by all!

Garth Brooks Concert

By tlb75 |

Saw concert in VIP Suite....great experience. Loved the privacy, staff was friendly. Catering was not great for the price, a little disappointing. Other than that it was very clean and comfortable.

Go Devils

By berdiep |

Went for the hokey game . What an amazing event center!! Great hokey game . Fun times in this fabulous center!

Marc Anthony Concert

By Bori2 |

Went to the Marc Anthony concert in February at the Prudential Center, had a great time at the concert although Marc was late, but what chaos leaving their parking lot. Horrible! Parking staff didn’t care and what a mess, took us 45 minutes to get out. Will never go to another event here.

The best view of the city

By Bohemian_me84 |

It is really hard to get to , and really hard to find it , there is really no signs how to get there and where to turn , but if you make it to the shopping mall there is few signs over there . At the front desk on the main floor you have to show photo ID so make sure to have one .
View from the top is just amazing , there is movie theatre with a short movies about history of Boston and a history display about immigration .
As it is sure most beautiful view you can start with it , but we decide to keep the best for last .

Concert

By sksbs |

Went for a concert, stayed at a Hampton Inn, took a Lyft which was very easy. Prices of food inside were alot which was expected.

Paul McCartney Concert

By Navigator639118 |

Pleasantly surprised by the venue by my first visit to PruCenter for a Paul McCartney concert. Though we all stand for Sir Paul, the seats were comfortable and adequately spaced, with enough legroom in front. The pitch was perfect and the seat view unobstructed and excellent Sec 117, Row 9. The sound was fantastic. I recommend that they offer more healthy food options (only one cart offered salads and gluten-free sandwiches, and that they create atmosphere by playing pre-concert music in the concession area which otherwise is a boring walk around fast-food Avenue.

Not a Safe Area

By Melissa L |

We went for a Tony Robbins event, gunshots were heard on more than 1 evening, even during the day people worried about walking around. The center is nice, however their food vendors price gouge, $5 for a bottle of water!!! Might be good for hockey but other events I wouldn't go.

Great vibe

By Fadamos |

I caught a Devil's game here whilst in NY and was not disappointed. The vibe of the Prudential Center is great and crowd really gets into the game. Worth the detour.

ELO concert WOW

By conniemurray1 |

Beautiful venue for ELO. Will go again this summer. Dhani Harrison opened the show. Brought tears to my eyes. Then they played a song dedicated to his Dad, George Harrison with ELO. So cool!

Show time with family.

By Dianna M |

We had tickets for trans Siberia orchestra on December 27th, 2022. What a nice area. Security regulations were followed and went quickly. Staff very helpful. Clean facilities. Parking is available close by center with extra fee. Restaurants and bars with walking distance. To the show absolutely amazing. Plenty of technology of lasers and smoke. Great light shows with a Christmas feel. Definitely worth it. If you are hockey fans. NJ Devils play here.

WWE SMACKDOWN

By ELtheGod |

This is my 4th event at the Prudential Center and each time it was awesome. I finally learned that for events, Especially wrestling it isnt worth sitting on the floor lol. People are constantly on their feet and it blocks your view. The ideal seating is in the lower section. Yesterday I sat in Sec. 7 row 19 seat 8 and my view was magnificent. Floor was clean. Customer Service was ALMOST the best I've ever seen. Parking in area is super expensive so if you can take the train, DO IT. It's probably a 5-12 min walk from the train station to the prudential center depending on where you park. And actually near the train station parking is a whole lot CHEAPER. $10>$40 bills cheaper. Anyway GREAT PLACE. I LOVE IT

Disappointing!

By Gumshang |

Our grandson had ice hockey tournament at the Prudential Center for the past couple of years, each time, I was appalled by the fees its parking lots, as well as nearby parking facilities charges. If not to be there to cheer our grandson on the ice, you would definitely not find me paying $30-$40. Outrageous!

Panic at disco concert

By Lizz S |

Best show ever. Easy access to gates, lots of merch tables, good layout for food and drinks. Brendan put on an amazing show.

CIRCUS

By LYN D |

Great last show , went to box office picked up tickets great experience, nice show for family. Will be attending other shows in the future

Visited Monster Jam

By GerardV754 |

Unexpected visit. Real nice event. Lots of families with children. Impressive show of monster trucks.

Cool stadium, small shop

By Mämpfi |

The stadium is beautiful and very well organized. We had a good view even in the middle rows. The food is good and I can recommend Teriyaki.

Essex County College Graduation

By jsousavalentin71 |

The Prudential Center holds many dear memories for myself and my family. We've been to NJ Devil's hockey games to Star 99.1 FM Christian Concerts. Our favorite though, was the gathering of all the staff and faculty from Essex County College during graduation. The facility is clean, safe and secure. This place is truly conducive to making great memories with your loved ones.

Worst venue in NJ

By Ang D |

This is the worst venue in the state of NJ. Avoid it at all costs. Went with my family to see springsteen in concert, there was no organization whatsoever outside to direct fans on lines. They were so understaffed it took hours to get inside. Hundreds of us missed the first few songs. The venue created a dangerous situation for fans outside, multiple people passed out standing in the heat, employees had no sense of urgency. Horrible. Will never be back and they should be ashamed.

Depends what you go for . . . .

By cmondaro |

Sometimes NO issues, sometimes nothing BUT issues . . . Pay attention to when you are allowed in because there is ZERO flex on it . . . . . Enjoy your time there

Nice concerts

By Monica I |

Like in my title the center offers a lot of concerts when you are their and sometimes it’s a basketball game or sports related.

Hockey Game and Concert

By Jjw302 |

Came three this month and was thoroughly impressed with the security/check in process. The concessions varied for each event but the food was fresh and prices were expected.

Great seating and always clean

By LittleItalyNj |

I’ve been to several events at the Prudential Center and my experiences have always been great. Staff seemed to be trained and are friendly. Most seating offers great views, even in the upper sections. Most events are costly and the food is not cheap but the saying is true; you get what you pay for. That is always a nice experience.

Graduation

By Sue0717 |

My son graduated from Seton Hall at the Prudential Center on Monday. The staff ws amazing assisting our parents who need assistance walking. They helped us in every way possible to accomodate their needs. They were amazing!

Saw U2 there. Great venue with great sound. Lower level seats are all good!

By vajoefisher |

I was there for the U2 show. I was in the lower level section 11 which is on the side of the stage. Pretty much any lower level seat is good as long as it's not behind the stage.
Food and beer is expensive which is typical for any major sports arena. Beer was $14 I believe. Plenty of good bars, restaurants near the venue if you want to pregame!

Roger Waters and Prudential Center! Excellent combination for a Great time.

By CParella52 |

This was my first time to the Prudential Center. I was excited about the show and was excited to see this venue.
I was not disappointed with either!
Of course, the show was totally awesome, but I will say with all honesty that the Prudential Center was easy to get to (we took the train in from farther down the Jersey Shore) and access to any level flowed without any issues.
Plenty of places to eat/get refreshments within the building.
Bathroom facilities at any level were clean.
Staff was very polite and helpful.

Pathetic customer service

By VMulder |

Don't expect great service. They do not return calls or answer emails and phonecalls. And when you have lost your purse don't expect to get it back since they don't help you with information regarding the finding of your personal posessions.

HOT FOR THE HOLIDAYS

By jnjohns0684 |

I went to the "Hot for the Holidays" concert and it was so LIT!!! Being from the DMV, I learned that the Prudential Center is as big as the Verizon Center in DC.

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Marriott hotel which is located directly next to the venue. We literally did not have to walk outside to get to the concert, it was great!!

Insensitivity to Allergies

By YayaPLS |

Upon entering Prudential Center for the Barnum and Bailey Circus with my family my daughter was having her diaper bag scanned and the person in charge removed a bag of Pepperidge Farm goldfish, a snack my grandson is allowed to have since he has a life threatening severe nut and tree nut anaphylactic allergy. I told her of his allergy but she said there are many snacks inside that you can buy. I tried to explain the severity but she would not listen to me had no clue about the seriousness of what I was explaining, She made my daughter either take the snack back to her car or throw out. There were no snacks being sold that he is either allowed to eat or had not possibly been cross contaminated with nuts in production of the product.
I think the staff should be made aware of life threatening allergies and be sensitive to them before they take this kind of action.

First times a charm

By Susan M |

My first time going to the Prudential Center and we were seeing Céline Dion. The venue was very clean, there were nice food choices as well as snacks and drinks. The bathrooms were well maintained and decorated with a modern flair.
We sat in the 106 section and saw her sing with no straining our eyes. The acoustics were great.
The staff were very helpful when we asked questions and were good with directing us out after the show was over. I was surprised that the venders outside the show were peddling shirts so close to the police officers and they did not bother them at all. Finding parking was easy and the prices were cheaper the NYC parking garages and lots.

Great seats for the hockey game

By Amanda T |

Was there with friends, had great seats, sat in section 102; staff was friendly, no problems getting in or out of our seats or area after the game.

Great center, very well organized, always a good experience

By hvjewels |

Very convenient location, stop by the Ironbound section of Newark for excellent restaurants and unique shopping experiences especially for jewelry.

Great venue—horrible location

By 580hansr |

You can see a great show here! However, make sure you bring food. It’s a ghost town after the show! 20,000 people looking for ANYTHING to eat or drink. Even Dinosaur BBQ is closed. So close to NYC, yet the complete opposite. Very strange! Lots of revenue opportunities lost for entrepreneurs!

Cher concert

By Richard Salzano |

Cher put on a good show. It was more like watching a musical then a concert. Chic the opening band was excellent. They sounded fantastic. Overall a great night. The Prudencial Center is a nice venue to see a show, easy to get to and a breeze getting in and out. In the past had good experiences with James from guest services and Gary from Securitus . No interaction this time. The only negative 45.00 for parking across the street I thought was a lot.

Excellent venue for a concert!

By laraluvsU2 |

The Prudential Center is a fantastic place for a concert! Excellent acoustics. Great seats. Had an absolutely great time at the U2 concert we attended. Will go to more concerts at this venue.

*June 2015 RUSH R40 Concert

By Kevin B |

I should mention that this arena can be a little disorienting when trying to go to and from the restroom. Other than that the venue is top-notch and the sound quality is too! R40 was a memorable concert experience and I, like most RUSH fans, will miss Neil's playing, but will look forward to Geddy and Alex possibly performing as an electric or acoustic duo. Cheers!

Garth Brooks

By msae23 |

Went to a concert at the Prudential center on Saturday night. We had a great time, the staff is friendly an helpful, but would've been easier if there were more people around to help, as there were a large number of people all asking questions at the same time. The seats were uncomfortable and not very clearly marked, but the concessions we're varied and plenty, and the lines moved quickly. I'd come back for an event that wasn't someplace else, but it would definitely be a second choice venue.
Park a few blocks away, they have garages with deals, and attendants, made it easier not to have to worry about finding parking.

Hockey game

By Didj67 |

We attended the NJ Devils hockey game against Utah. The rink is accessible from Manhattan by train. It is impossible to come home with a bag and even less drinks. There's a bag drop for $8 a game. The rink is huge and very comfortable. We see the game very well. Drinks as well as food are expensive.

K-pop Concert

By TravelorNo |

Very clean, staff was helpful. Only downside is that the seating is really tight(130 section) so had to get up and stretch after a while. Depends on what section you sit in though.

Excellent Show at the PRU

By Nancy L |

Took the train up with friends to see the fabulous MercyMe to a totally packed Pru Center!! It's clean, the staff are friendly and we had an enjoyable evening!

Concert

By Stephanie P |

Love the options of restaurants and bars just outside. We went to super crowded Redd’s Biergarten. Need more parking options. One block away the lot wanted $50😳. Great evening

Sporting Fun

By jeanpaull141 |

The Prudential Center is a fan friendly arena. The signage is helpful, the ushers are courteous and helpful, and the concession folks pleasant to deal with. The concession prices are at par with other sporting venues. Parking averages the steeper side at $35 at lots around the facility. Traffic control upon exiting was surprisingly smooth and flowed well. Look forward to another visit.

Trans Siberian Orchestra December 21

By Tom D |

Our first Trans Siberian Orchestra show - concert was amazing. Doors opened one (1) hour before the show, if you don’t want to stand in the cold waiting to get in go in the Box Office entrance next to the Devils Den store. You can queue inside and there is a security checkpoint inside there.

Chris Brown Concert

By Ana A |

Wonderful! Lots of food options and ushers were helpful. Plenty of alcohol choices. Easy to get around.

Concert venue

By WillW0rk2Travel |

I visited the Prudential Center for the first time for a music concert. The arena was much larger than I expected. There were lots of good options for food and beverages. Getting into the venue was a little bit slow given security but I didn’t mind the extra precaution. I would attend a concert here again.

Great venue

By Torlus |

Saw Queen & Adam Lambert here and it was a great show and a great venue.
Cheap and easy to get to from Manhattan (Path Newark).
Well organised from security to seating attendants. Lots of clean restrooms and food choices. We didnt eat here but everything looked good, clearly lots of choice and in box type trays which makes it ideal for stadium seating.
We were seated on the 2nd tier and had a very good view of the stage. I think most of the seats in the house were good views.
Would definitely see a show here again!
Clean, well organised.

Annoyed by the usher

By TravelingBEG |

Went to the Pitbull/Enrique Iglesias concert on October 10th. Not the first time I have been to this venue, have always enjoyed previous shows. Good acoustics, clean bathrooms, good security etc... The concert started @ 7:30pm, my friends and I had seats 9-12 in the 20's section. The seats next to me 7 & 8 were empty. About 9:30pm , during one of Enrique's best songs, an usher comes right in our faces and asks to see all of our tickets, not just ours, but entire row, we show her our tickets, she proceeds to stand right smack in front of us, while looking at two paper tickets in her hand, she exits the row, talks to 2 women standing in the aisle, the usher then comes back, again blocking our view , and asks to see all of our tickets again. I ask her what is the problem, she kept mumbling something about the 2 women's seats being 7 & 8, so I said then if that is their seats, then give it to them already and stop asking us for our tickets, the seats were empty!!! The women finally sat down and the one woman apologized because she didn't know what the problem was with the usher just giving them their seats. Won't stop me from returning but the disruptions by the usher were annoying.

Great venue, parking lots are disorganized

By John B |

Have seen many shows in the last 2 years here, from Roger Waters to P!NK to Jeff Dunham. Sound is excellent, views from any seat are decent. Easy to get to, not overcrowded in the halls but getting out of a parking lot after the show is over is a nightmare.Either leave early, or hang out for a while and let the rush leave ahead of you. You'll be glad you did.

Circus

By princesskittkat1215 |

The show itself was fabulous, we had a great time. However the arena was a little ridiculous as far as security was concerned. They had unorganized security screening with metal detectors, for a kids show. The lines were out the door not to mention it was about 18 degrees and the poor kids were so cold.

Beautiful place to see.

By maldomi1 |

I've been here for events of all kinds. From graduations, children's events and great concerts. This place is filled with so much beauty. The seats are comfortable and you can see the stages from all sides. Not to mention the parking right across the street! (Sorry you have to pay for parking) It's a place for everybody!! Go buy a ticket for an event here!

concert

By jeff m |

I went with my girl-friend to see Mariah Carey and Lionel Richie last Friday night. Great show. Nice place to catch a concert. Go and enjoy.

Best atmosphere of all!

By steven e |

We visited and watched a regular season game. The atmosphere was great. The mascot ran around and interacted with all sections of the crowd.

Nice play for a hockey game

By AccurateReviews |

Even as a Penguins fan, this is a good place for a game. My daughter and I even have our pre-game ritual of eating dinner at Chipotle which is right outside the arena.

Disneys Frozen on Ice

By M Bridg |

Big venue, sat in section 129 and could see well. Easy to get through security and find our seats. Those without commonly sense can't say the same as many people seemed lost even though sections are clearly labeled. We didn't purchase anything while there. Bathrooms were decent (they have family bathrooms which makes it easier with multiple little ones) Parking sucked $$$ (cost more than a ticket to the show we were seeing) My only complaint inside the venue was how little room you have for your legs. I felt like I was kneeing the people in front of me.

What an experience!

By FamilyTraveler732 |

My family and I want there to see the circus. First off, parking is atrocious! Some lots were $15, some were $25, the only one that was still available for us was $40!! Once we got inside and to our section (109), my son who is afraid of heights, looked down at our seats and freaked out! The stairs were so steep that he couldn't walk down them. We actually saw an older woman walk down to her seats and CRAWL back up! I thought our day was going to be a bust but when we went to customer service, they allowed us to exchange our tickets and move to an unattended handicapped area that was a little further back and against a rail. The usher in the section was amazing as she kept checking on my son to make sure he was comfortable. Overall, what could have been a miserable and frustrating day ended up going pretty good.

Caos

By Jean P |

Entrance is nightmare— took us 2 hours to get into theater with our tickets! Lockers for handbags are ridiculous! Lockers are located outside! Can’t see lockers at night to enter info. Bathrooms were disgusting! Lack of elevators and line for Escalator was caos! Seats are very close together. Theater is fire hazard- can’t see exits and far too many seats/people!

Nice venue for concerts

By Ciahasher |

I saw trans siberian orchestra at this place. It was fairly easy to get through security. Also it was okay leaving. I thought we were going to be in a huge traffic jam leaving but that wasn’t the case at all. We parked in a lot a couple of blocks away.
Acoustics at the center were good. The layout of the place reminded me a lot of Toyota center in Houston although I think Toyota center is a bit nicer and newer. Like Toyota center, I prefer the lower level and not the floor. Seats were very comfy. I would see a concert at this place again.

Poor Access not enough Security

By demetriusTesla |

Recently attended the Trans Siberian Orchestra Show was phenomenal . However upon arrival early was unable to be seated due to lack of Security Guards to do screening . Missed a the beginning and a large portion of the show . The front entrance of this expensive show did not have adequate screening personnel to handle the crowd making everyone late for the show. Also there is no designated parking for their events You are looking at a 30.00 dollar minimum for parking in the area. Welcome to Newark watch out for the pick pockets.

a really, really nice place for NEWARK !

By Ray R |

This was my first time here and I found it clean, convenient, comfortable, attractive and staffed with nice folks. BUT - prices of the food were a bit high ( $5 for bottle of water, $12 for chicken nuggets and fries ) . Now I understand security was really tight and I APPRECIATED IT, but confiscating our water and food without notice was a downer.
But again, Costly as parking was $40 a day for very closest lot. I'll come here for a Devils game anytime ! ( if they invite me ! )

Dirty!

By Jose U |

I went with my kids to see the Devils, OMG!! the place was very dirty unsanitary, We were at the club seats, the floor was very sticky, my shoes were stuck to the floor, the leather chairs were all splashed with soda syrup, they should call the venue Sticky Prudential.. The food was nasty and cheap.. Not like years ago.. Not going back, I will take my family to the garden or the wells fargo center. Prudential Center is a cesspool of germs!!

BTS concert!!!

By Briana J |

The venue was amazing!!! The staff were helpful and organized. When it came time to letting us in, they were very proficient. I would love to go to this venue for more concerts.

Great place to see sports or hear music!

By Barbara H |

NJ Devils, Bonnie Raitt, James Taylor, Stevie Nicks -- what do they all have in common? The Rock - Prudential Center. Easy to get to - eat in Newark's Ironbound neighborhood first!

Gospel Fest

By BWS828 |

Great concert and sports venue has ample seating, food service is very good especially if you have seating in a boxed booth.

Great venue, many show selections, but "convenience" price gouging and a proper parking deck is needed!

By psudino |

I've been to "The Rock" for a variety of shows from concerts, to kids shows, to comedy shows. The seats here are large, with many entrances and the views have been quite good.

The location is fine, in the center of Newark, but the parking situation is a mess. Unlike the NJPAC, which has an underground parking garage right next door, PruCenter relies on a variety of privately owned parking lots from EdisonPark to some shady-looking one-offs.

My biggest grip are the excessive costs on the tickets. The seat prices here are actually quite affordable, but after adding up all the fees and "convenience" charges every ticket has a $25 premium. I understand maybe up to $10, but anything over is just gouging.

It's a good venue and I'll more than likely keep coming back because their show selection is excellent.

Prudential Center

By Sion M |

Lousy greasy food! Hot dogs, burgers, fries, pizza, terrible coffee and everything is 4 times what it should cost.

Chris "Breezy" Concert

By Jeff W |

We had a ball at a Chris Brown Concert here on 7.26.22. "Breezy" ensured that all had a great time. The crowd was so diverse and amazing too.

Great arena for hockey

By barry88 |

It's a great arena to watch a hockey game. Convenient with driving or trains. Lot of restaurants are up around the arena now. Top sections are a little steep, but they want you closer to the action. Bottom section is great. Good food options too.

Jeff Dunham

By Cole H |

Great time!!! Everyone was so nice.
Helped us to our seats
Got us in and out pretty quick
Great show
Stayed close by
Places to eat near by
Can't wait to go again

Bruno Mars 24K World Tour.

By Bruce A E |

Nice modern Arena in a safe part of Newark with reasonable parking lots close by; expensive tickets.

Arena seating was comfortable but the acustics Up in Sections 222/224/226 & 228 were terrible. (Side of the Stage-partial obstruction). Couldn’t make out any of Sierra’s Lyrics-all mumbled & echoing.
Changed seats for Bruno Mars & lyrics were much clearer. He only played for 1hr & 15 min. Unacceptable: we paid $232 for a very short performance.

Very Pricey Food/Snacks: $7.50 for Ice Cream, Pretzels & Soda.

Souvenirs were Outrageously Priced. Bruno Mars Hoodie T-shirt’s were $55 & the Basketball Tank Tops that Say Houligan were $130. We spent No Money inside.

Would Definately go Back. I like the way they cleaned up this section of Newark. Streets were very safe to walk thru.

Nice arena to watch a game

By AndiamoAMagna |

Arena is very nice and relatively new. Parking in the area is limited and expensive. I recommend taking the train to Newark penn station, which is a 10 min walk to arena. Surroundings are sketchy.

Easy to get to By train - Car not so good

By Tony R |

Normally we take the train which is very convenient. This past time we drove - While parking was no problem - The traffic after the concert was crazy - no quick way out of Newark. I think I will stick with the train. The Venue is great, Its small and Clean the seats are kinda steep the higher you go. But not a bad seat in the house. Also not enough stair cases for exit - took a while to get out after concert.

Beautiful Rink, Crappy Team!

By Tyler B |

This rink is very new and is always clean. It's smaller than most NHL rinks, which makes it feel a little weird, but it isn't anything too out of the ordinary. The food is expensive like any other rink, but the best part is the devils tickets are very cheap so it's the perfect place to bring your friend or family!

Nice concert venue and great food

By Adrienne C |

Came here to see the John Mayer solo show in March — didn’t have any problems with getting in / waiting in line as other people had. I definitely prefer venues like MSG and UBS to Prudential, but this is still a solid concert venue. Would also note that the grilled chicken sandwich I had here was excellent and definitely one of the best food options I’ve had at a concert / sporting venue recently.

High Tech Venue w/ Great Technology

By Antonietta1085 |

This has to be one of the best venues ive been to. The acoustics are great, the lighting, the views and the variety of food. I went to see a Devils Game and it was a good time. I recommend this Venue for hockey, im not too sure what the concerts are like but im sure their amazing as well.

Hockey game great, men's bathrooms awful

By romanj243 |

Went to a matinee hockey game(1pm) on Jan. 12, 2019, the venue was excellent and the employees friendly and accommodating. However the men's bathroom, and I used 3 different ones, was an absolute disgrace. Before the start of the game, at least a half-hour, I went to use the bathroom by section 125, and there were no paper towels to wipe your hands with after finishing your business and since there were no hand-blowers I had to revert to the old solution getting toilet paper from the stalls to dry my hands. These are very pricey tickets for this event and basic sanitary conditions are lacking. I used a different rest room next time, and ended up standing in a pool of a mixture of water and whatever else to do my business. This experience reminded me of the open urinals and running sewers in third world countries. Other that that it was a great hockey game. If I could only hold it and not go to the bathrooms the whole game.

Parking is a pain, but great connection to the train station means it's a breeze to get to the venue

Great place to visit

By Purrinian |

It is a very good arena, plenty of food available and it was easier to find our seats than in the Bell Centre. Excellent atmosphere and an and excellent shootout win against the Senators. We came into Newark by train so I am not sure about the parking, but Penn Station is within an easy walk.

Elton John show

By spdar0ca |

It’s not the first time we go there for a show. The venue has great acoustics, the ushers were always nice, and there’s the usual venue food and drinks at the usual venue price. The rows are very tight, but they had to make good use of space to accommodate so many people.

Great place to see concert or hockey game. Pretty sure husband said not a bad seat in the house! Ate at Dinosaur BBQ

Garth Brooks

By jblksmith1 |

Went two nights in a row. I will only sit in the lower sections or on the floor. This arena is built to save space so the seating is very steep as you move up. Your feet almost touch the person in front of you right near their head. Not doable if you have vertigo. Sit low and enjoy the show.

Awesome facility for concerts!

By Pam W |

We attended Kcon this year and the two nights of concerts they had, at the Prudential Center. We had really good seats on Saturday and not so good on Sunday. Even though the seats for the second night weren't as close, our view was still pretty good and the big screens had great visual quality so we felt like we were closer than we were. It's a very clean building and set up really well too. I'd have no issues going to this building for more concerts. One of the best I've been to!

Nice venue in a so-so area

By rbesho |

Most recent visit was Stevie Nicks / Pretenders concert. Nice, clean venue with easy access, although parking at $40 was steep. Sound quality was very good. Main drawback was drunk patrons talking & yelling throughout the performance, getting up every 20 minutes for another beer. We left after the show, before the encore & they were still selling alcohol. I know it's a profit center & this NJ, but it makes for putting up with a lot of annoying people

Devils hockey

By Aliveguy |

Nice arena to watch a hockey game. The place was almost packed despite the Devils being in last place.

Venue staff very helpful getting around. Decent food and beer options.

Easy to get to from Manhattan. NJ transit to Newark Penn Station. Arena is 3 blocks away. Walkable and did not seem unsafe. Plenty of cops around for the game.

Would go again

Great Venue!

In from the Midwest for a College Basketball game in December. Easy train ride from New York Penn (even for us!)!
Walk from Newark Penn is only a few blocks-even in December!! Several bars adjacent for pregame get together!!
Great experience!!

Excellent venue

By Sheryl T |

I recently saw Elton John here. I had floor tickets and they were great. Come early because security did take a long time to get into the venue.

Nice Venue, could be more comfortable.

By Ron G |

Saw the Celine Dion concert last night and she was great. The sound system was not the best from where we were sitting, in section 129 and the seats were narrow and offered no leg room. At least the view to the stage was good.

Not great venue for this event

By audreylebowitz |

We went to a wonderful show here on Sunday night ....we saw Hugh Jackman. We sat in Section 6, row 19 which is in the first tier of seats from the ground floor. The arena is an oval and stage is all the way to the right. It wasn't easy turning in our seats to view the show. My neck was achy. There were huge video screens to see everything but who wants to pay big bucks to watch TV. There were several food kiosks but no where to sit and eat except in your paid seats. Bathrooms were good. Plenty of parking lots around....word of advice....prepay for a spot because it will cost you less. They change the price based on who is performing at the Pru Center and it's expensive. Arena is not handicapped friendly. Our friend had to give up his seat because he could not walk down the steep steps to his seat. Someone should help bringing food to patrons at their seats. I don't think they will be going back either. But hats off to Hugh Jackman who is a true showman and a gentleman....so humble and classy.

Great barn to watch a game!!!

Great Arena

By R. Traveler |

Nice area and easy to reach from NY city. The fans were loud and entertaining and the on ice graphics mind blowing!

Clean, good vendors, good setup ..... very impressed! I've been to many arenas and the prudential center gets a 5 from me.

The bar across from the entrance is also really good as far as places to hit up after the game. Good prices, service and drinks

Great Concert Experience

By Kristine |

My daughter and I recently attended a BTS concert in March. If you know anything about this band or its fans, you'll understand just how impressed I was at the efficiency of the staff. Over 19,000 people were there to see the concert, and I never experienced that awful feeling you get at other venues where you feel like herded cattle. The acoustics were wonderful, the special effects were amazing - the entire experience was unforgettable.

Ringling brothers circus

By tracyhR8547RP |

The last touring of the circus; so sad. We love the "Rock" always clean and the staff is always helpful. Prices on concession are steep but that's everywhere.

Hugh Jackman

By Robinflion |

We went to see Hugh Jackman and he was very good. He had a lot of energy. Access into event was easy and fast. We were in the upper level leg room not great and very steep decline to walk down to the seats. I don't think the sound system was quite right. I'll be a better judge after seeing Elton John in April.
This is my first time in the venue and this is too large a place to see Hugh Jackman. I love him alot but not in this size venue.

McDonald Gospel Fest

By 347ReadytoTravel |

It was my first time attending, and it was 6 hrs long. They did try to keep things moving but the microphones failed you couldn't hear some of the acts, the floor seat was not the price, but the Gospel Stars were amazing! I enjoyed listening to them but could not see do to all the people standing up to give praise. I joined in the praise and had a good time listening to Donnie McClurkin, Erica Campbell, Cissy Houston, Anthony Brown, and most of ALL Israel Houghton. The ministries were rushed I think to make sure everyone performed but I looked forward to enjoying Hezekiah Walker but he was at the very end and only got to sing mini songs that wasn't fair! Don't know if I will attend next year but glad I got to experience it once.

Concert venue

By firefly971 |

Not a bad seat in the house! Their concert setup was the best I've seen! We sat on the side one section up, we could see perfectly!

Incompetent and/or understaffed security

By John F |

At the Judas Priest concert, the orchestra section devolved into chaos due to completely incompetent and/or understaffed security. Paid for 2nd row seats on the aisle, but aisles quickly packed with people from all over the arena, turning it into the most expensive general admission experience I have ever attended. And I say this as someone accustomed to the mosh pits of L'Amour's and CBGB. Security staff even attempted to clear the aisles by forcing people standing into the rows of seats. We were crushed and hit to the point that we had to leave two $220 tickets in the garbage.

One of the Easiest, Most Convenient Concert Venues in Metro NYC

By HeardItBothWays |

My husband and I attend concerts pretty regularly and we're always happy when we're able to do so at Prudential Center.

Prudential is a decently large venue, but still has fast security check-in and friendly staff like a smaller venue. The sound quality is always good. We've seen everything from pop/R&B (Rihanna, Bruno Mars) to alternative (Metric, Imagine Dragons) to symphonic metal (Trans Siberian Orchestra) to rap (Ja Rule) to reggae there (Shaggy), and have always heard excellently mixed audio.

The views from the seats are pretty decent around the entire venue, but we especially like the lower bowl side (single digits, but we're not ones for floor seats). We prefer aisle or front of section. The seats are numbered in such a way that the lowest seat 1 is on the side where the lower section is, so seat 1 in any row of section 7, for example, is next to section 6 (and closer to the stage on that side). Look closely at the seating map when you buy because some of the 200 sections have row 2 as their first row and they don't sell quite as quickly because people don't realize that. We try to avoid the sections opposite the stage because the closer side view tends to be better, though even in the nosebleeds, the view isn't too bad.

Ticket prices at Prudential Center tend to be a bit less expensive than some of the bigger venues in the area like Metlife and Madison Square Garden. For example, we attended Imagine Dragons' Evolve Tour twice: once at Prudential, which cost $98 per ticket for aisle seats in row 3 of section 9 (lower bowl) versus $205 at MSG for row 22 aisle of the lower bowl. On average, we've paid $128.56 per ticket for shows we've seen there, and that might even be a bit inflated because we once bought resale tickets for a Trans Siberian Orchestra show. The lowest price we ever paid for tickets there was $62 for tickets to Imagine Dragons' Smoke + Mirrors Tour in 2015 (Section 127, row 3, seats 5-6). The most expensive were tickets for Bruno Mars' 24K Magic World Tour in 2018 (Section 7, row 1, seats 1-2) for $244 each. Coincidentally, those and our tickets to Imagine Dragons' Evolve Tour (Section 9, row 3, seats 1-2) were our favorite views we've had at concerts we've attended there because they were above the floor crowd but eye-level with the stage. Try to get tickets in presale, if you can. Prudential doesn't seem to hold the best ones for general sale.

Prudential is such a convenient venue that it makes our experience an easy one. We currently live in New Jersey and work in Manhattan, and Prudential is easy to get to from both. We could say the same when we previously lived in Staten Island. There are quite a few conveniently-located parking lots around the venue where you can prepay parking (I highly recommend it) and the Ford Parking Deck that is a connected garage with a bridge linking it to the venue so you can enter without even going outside.

We've had only great experiences and Prudential Center. If you have the opportunity to see a show there, I definitely recommend it!

Nice to see a concert

By Natalie M |

Went to the Prudential Center for the first time for a concert with my tween daughter. Definitely a nice venue. Small but not tiny. All seats seemed to have a clear view of the stage. Staff member went above and beyond to show us where to go for our seats. She was exceptional. Concessions were pricey but that was expected. Lots of parking available (use ParkWhiz). Would definitely go there again.

Newark's premium architectural landmark.

Newark's premium architectural landmark, home of the New Jersey Devils exudes pride of place. It is accessible by bus and train.

Not Great for a Concert

By Boyd7670 |

Went to see TSO concert. Had higher seats, section 231 row 2, first row in upper section, seats 1 & 2. The sight lines were obstructed by the stair railing and stage lights. Stairs come up directly in front of these seats so that all the late arriving folks who can't see (too dark) stop in front of you, further blocking the view of the stage. Ushers apparently were not doing a great job directing these late comers as a significant number went up and then back down. Music sounded ok but any time someone spoke it was muffled and seemed to fade in and out. I will not be returning and can not recommend the venue. Only 1 escalator was working going up where we entered and none working when we left. Wells Fargo Center in Philly is a much better venue in my opinion.

Devils Games at The Rock

By S_M_Healey |

I've been to the Prudential Center countless times since it's opened to attend NJ Devils games. The arena itself is great. Great sight lines, very good concession selections, and nice wide corridors (so you can walk around and not feel like you're in a sardine can). There's adequate parking all around the arena, I've never had a problem parking. The only real drawback is the gridlock on the local roads following the game. They used to have police directing traffic, but that only seemed to make it worse.

The Rock

By Christopher G |

We came up from Trenton to see the D vila play the Flyers. We took NJ transit and walked a couple blocks indoors to get close to the Rock. The alternative is driving and paying $35 to park. We were in section 105 in a lower row. We walked the lower concourse and the only way we saw to go up was the stairs. There were food vendors and the prices were reasonable. I purchased three chicken tenders with fries ($12.50) and a large drink in a souvenir cup ($7). The entry to the section is at the top and the steps are steep. There is very little space in front of your seat and no cup holders. When I got up at intermission, the woman at the end of my row has some vertigo issues. The view from the seats was good and the jumbo tron is one of the biggest I have seen. If I go again, I would consider spending the extra money to sit in the lower level.

Great Concert Venue - Safe and easy to get to.

By Sfrenchhabermann |

I avoided this venue for years because of Newark's scary reputation. I was so wrong. The area surrounding the arena is closed off for blocks. Parking is easy and there are good bars and restaurants surrounding the building.
HELPOFUL HINT: Purchase parking online ahead of time to avoid getting sold out of the best locations.

Worst Experience Ever

By Mrs. Sanchez |

Went to a Valentine's Day Concert and the sound system was horrible. Half of the performers mics was not working. Kept doing intermissions to fix it which shortened the show. Monica's whole performance was canceled due to the system. Such a waste of money and time. I will never go to an event there again.

Clean and convenient

By jf126 |

Easy to get to, lots of parking, arena is kept pretty clean. They have quite a few bars, expensive, but thats not unusual for a venue. Lots of food choices, none very healthy, but not bad. If your there for a concert, the sound isn't great, depending on where you sit.

Devil's game

By bpeck1234 |

This is our second trip to The Rock to see a hockey game. Though it can be tough and expensive to park, this is a great arena. Ticket prices are reasonable and food choices are plentiful. I had the buffalo chicken dog this time just because I was curious! The staff is always friendly and helpful and the NHL experience is a must for any hockey fan. Now if the Penguins could just get a win when we visit...

By The Five Road Trippers 🚙🎡🎢🧳 |

This is a great place to see a concert. The view is not bad from the nosebleed section. For us, the act must be great for us to leave NY to go to Newark.

Lower Seats are good - others, not so much

By Mike M |

The higher up you go the steepness of the slope and space between rows makes it difficult and - i think precarious - to move around. Food is particularly bad, even for a sports arena. Parking is expensive. The game was great! :-)
Good neighborhood or local bars and restaurants.

Lauryn Hill

By Shawn Craig |

Miss Lauryn Hill's performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey last night was wonderful. Hail to the "Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" album, a timeless masterpiece that has left an indelible mark on the world of music since circa 1998. Lauryn came home and did not disappoint. This was triumphant celebration of her unparalleled artistry.

At first, her eclectic style may have thrown me a bit, but as the performance unfolded, it became clear that her wardrobe choice may have been intentional, perhaps paying homage to the Queen, Aretha Franklin, and her iconic track, "A Rose is Still a Rose." Lauryn's versatility knows no bounds, and her ability to seamlessly blend genres left the audience in awe.

But it was more than just the music for me, Lauryn's performance transcended mere entertainment. It was a powerful and profound testament to the richness and complexity of black culture and womanhood. The lyrical expressions painted a vivid portrait of her upbringing in East Orange, Newark, Essex County and that “New Jersey Pride Thing”, challenging and redefining for some the perceptions of what life in the 80s, 90s in our hood was all about!

The Prudential Center was bursting at the seams with 17,000+ people from diverse walks of life, all gathered as witness. What was particularly heartwarming was seeing fans of varying dance skill levels, each one passionately singing, bopping, and reciting every word to every song.

Lauryn performance last night was a journey into the transformative power of music. Her stage presence, elegance, unique style, and profound emotional depth was "Everything."

For more than two hours, she flawlessly delivered a set of approximately 25 songs, each serving as a window into her very soul. Her rich, sultry vocals resonated with a force that reminded me of yesteryears when I used to belt out "Zion" at the top of my lungs, amidst the superb acoustics of our kitchen, while my daughter, still in her walker, listened with rapt attention. It was purely “My Joy”.

Watching this performance with two friends and my now-grown daughter, who had been quick to secure our tickets the moment they were announced, added an extra layer of significance. Together, we created new memories, further bridging the gap between then and now.

Miss Lauryn Hill's performance was nothing short of extraordinary, and she most certainly did not disappoint.

Concert, Very Close to Newark Penn Station

By TravelDeer |

Came for a concert. Good sound. Comfortable seats. Pricey food and drink not unexpected. Very short walk to Newark Penn Station. Plenty of parking lots around the venue with prices ranging from $20-40, so shop around if you can.

There are a few bars and restaurants right next to Prudential Center including Dinosaur BBQ which is very popular. If you have time, you can venture further into Newark for other food options. There is a nice McDonald's a couple of blocks away. But if you have time, about a 10-15 min walk from the Prudential Center is a busy commercial area with lots of varied restaurants and eateries. The restaurants I came across were on and off of Ferry Street. Walking along Market Street is a bit more pleasant than walking along Edison Place to get there. There seemed to be a large police presence on the streets.

Decent venue to see a concert

By Art K |

I've seen The Who, Paul McCartney and most recently Electric Light Orchestra. I rarely go to large venues any longer as I prefer the intimacy of a theater or small club. But considering its size, I found the sound to be very good and had good access to parking lots a few blocks away. While you can park closer, be prepared to pay more and wait longer periods to get out of the area. There are plenty of food and beverages available although I ate before I went to the show. My only complaint was the seats seemed smaller than Madison Square Garden or Barkley arena. I thought maybe it was my imagination, but someone close to me mentioned the same thing.

Our Youngest son Rutgers University Graduation Ceremony

By BWS828 |

Excellent place for tone of the largest graduating class of Rutgers University Graduation Ceremony at the Prudential Center. Sufficient seating was available and the ushers were very polite and helpful in seating the attendees and getting them from standing in the aisles and hallways. Lightings and microphones were well planned for us to hear the speakers and presenters clearly and see the graduates on stage as they received their diplomas.

Good Arena for Hockey

By Bruce M |

This arena is great for hockey. The food is expensive but it was good. I thought the fans were going to be rough but they were actually nicer than other hockey arenas. The seats were ample and comfortable.

Decent venue for the Devils game

By Jerry Hughes |

Went here for a Devils game vs Golden Knights and it was fun. We were sat down the front and tickets were just over $60 each on Ticketmaster on the day of the game which is a bargain really, tickets in the top tier were about that a month or so before.

Beers and food are pretty expensive but you expect that really so I wasn’t bothered at all.

Good fun for the NHL.

A Great Arena in Heart of Newark

By AugustoV01 |

This Arena is awesome. One of the best areas that I have been in. It is very spacious and has many places for venues.
This place is in a central location close to many of the major highways (Rt.1&9, Rt..22, Rt.78, Rt. 280, Rt.21 and the Turnpike) are relatively close to the Arena and it is just steps away from Newark Penn Station.
If you ever are going to a Devil's game or are going there for a concert this is a great place to go to. A great place to enjoy a great night out. Enjoy your time.

Let's go devil's!

By Dayra f |

I come here for devil's games and concerts. It is a great venue. Public transportation very easily accessible. Penn Station is just a few blocks away. There are great restaurants within walking distance as well.

Prudential needs to work on getting people in and out of the venue in a timely and organized fashion.

By beachlovinmom001 |

This review is for a recent experience at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. We were there to see a concert. Having been to many venues for concerts, I will rate this experience at Prudential as among the worst. We queued in line for nearly TWO HOURS just to walk in the door. There were no visible staff outside maintaining the queues. It was very confusing, and at one point people who had just arrived wound up at the front part of the queue while those of us who had been standing for over an hour and a half were still farther behind. We heard stories from others of having missed parts of their previous concerts due to not getting into the building on time. It was no better getting out of the building after the show - just a free for all, mass of people clogging up the halls. I have seen shows at MetLife and other larger arenas with far more capacity that get people in and out with far greater efficiency. The concert itself was fantastic, but this experience certainly put a damper on it. No time to hit the restroom, merch stands or get food as we barely made it to our seats in time. There were a lot of people behind us still in the queue who no doubt missed part of the show last night. Open the doors sooner, hire more people to manage the queues, get patrons in and out in a timely and organized manner. I'll definitely skip this venue in the future - did not impress at all.

Eat before you go or after. Nothing good here.

By Bob A |

Prudential center is a beautiful arena. However, the food options seem to be aimed at little kids. Chicken Nuggets, French fries, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, and really bad Pizza. They used to have an upscale buffet, but now it's a bad buffet. You cannot even get a grilled Chicken or Turkey sandwich in the entire arena. I'm guessing it's because there are so many good restaurants in the area. MSG has excellent food options and so do many other arenas. It would be nice if Pru Center would add a decent option or two.

Party Tour

By Jusjoe7 |

First time attending an event at the Prudential Center, which I must add was very nice. Attended for a concert and the security lines moved rather swiftly. Wide selection on food vendors. Rather on the expensive side but that is to be expected. Several parking lots. Across the street $40 and $30 and down one block $20.

Made it easy for patron in a wheelchair

By DCarver262 |

My wife won 2 tickets to see Paul Simon (9/2018) from a local radio station. We sent an email to guest services to see if we could swap for a wheelchair and companion seat. A day later, we received a phone call to help us work through the details (this was 5 days before a sold out show); we ended up with a pair of upgraded seats in the 100 level.

We arrived about 20 minutes before show time to find a large crowd in front of the entrance. We asked a "street crew" member if there was a wheelchair entrance. He said "follow me", turned, raised his megaphone and blazed a path through the crowd to VIP East Entrance where he passed us onto the security team. They moved us quickly through the process and took us to elevator. Next stop guest services where all details for ticket exchange were in order. We ended up in the seats as the show began.

In all of the little details necessary to make it easy for us to ensure the show, all of the staff we dealt with made sure everything just worked. Thanks.

Huge Venue, needs work

By Robert S |

Visited this location late July 2017. The venue is large and the building is well maintained and staff is friendly. However this is a horrible venue for a healthy living seminar. First off the venue has very unhealthy food choices and the few healthy food choices they have are plagued by long lines and short supply. Spent four days here and had stomach aches all four days. The pricing model is typical of large venues $5 bottles of water and $15-$20 for a meal of fried fatty foods. While this is acceptable for a concert or one day event it's hardly good for a four day event (which culminated with a complete 10 hour day about how bad this type of food they serve is for you). I would steer clear of this place for anything that lasts more than one day unless you have an iron gut. Staff is friendly and helpful and a refreshing change from the downright scary neighborhood which is Newark.

Went here to see a Cirque show over the weekend. Price for the attached parking deck was $35. Bought a bottle of soda which was nearly $8 (and wasn’t even allowed to keep the bottle top). Got to my seat and the seat was absolutely filthy! Had to get paper towels to put down before I would sit. Between the cost of the ticket, parking, and food, I feel the Prudential Center could do a better job with cleaning.

NY Metro Trifecta

By TRK |

We came to New York for my son's spring break to take in three NHL games in three days, one each at each New York area team's home arena. The Prudential Center is easily the nicest of the three New York area NHL arenas. It is modern and spacious and all seats have a good view of everything, unlike the other two or three if you count both Islanders arenas. The crowd was a sellout even though the Devils were out of playoff contention. The beers were middle of the price point for the three arenas. Overall it is just a nice properly built modern arena with a good atmosphere.

Good Location, Easible Accessible

By Doug F |

The Prudential Center is a nice facility. The exterior is nicely designed. The interior layout of the Pru is similar to other arenas. We have not attended any sport events at the Pru; we have attended concerts. One unusual feature is that one side of the arena has mostly women's rest rooms and the other side of the arena has mostly men's rest rooms. For concerts the sight-lines are good.

There is plenty of parking spaces next to the arena as well as within blocks of the Pru. Also, there is a parking garage next to the arena. A short distance away is the Newark Iron Bound area with great Spanish restaurants. Also, the train station is not that far from the arena. NEWARK Penn Station is a few blocks and people can walk to and from the station. People from New York and Long Island can easily reach the Pru using Path or NJ Transit from Penn Station or World Trade Center Stations. People from northern New Jersey and southeastern New York can take NJ Transit. Others from New Jersey can take NJ Transit trains and buses. If driving people can take the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden State Parkway.

There are many concessions and places to eat and drink in the arena. The streets surrounding the Pru have several places to eat and drink. During the warm weather, people are eating and drinking both in the restaurants, and out on the streets.

The Pru is a fun place.

Easy to get to - and cheap hockey tickets

By John B |

While a hike from Manhattan, getting to the Prudential Center is easy and cheap ($5.50 each way) taking the NJ Transit train from Penn Station (to Newark Penn). You can walk indoors most of the way to the arena by going through the Gateway Center which can be accessed by following the signs to track 5. From train to the arena is just 15 minutes and it is an easy walk. The arena is no different than most built in the last decade - good sight lines, crazy priced food and drink and easy to get around. If coming to a New Jersey Devils game your best bet is to buy in the secondary market. Supply is definitely greater than demand as I was able to get front row seats in the Goal Bar section for half price on Seat Geek. These seats entitle you to enter in the VIP entrance thus bypassing the crowded main entrance (though the seats can be easily accessed from there as well). As noted prices are steep ($11 for a draft beer) and there aren't many inspiring food choices (the chicken parm hero sandwich was downright terrible).

Didn't Accept My ID As Proof of Age!!!

By Steve Y |

Came here to see the Devils play against the Flyers back in January. Devils lost the game...
The experience was good! Great atmosphere on and around the rink.
The only issue I had was that I paid extra for club seats with which there was access to a proper bar. Before ordering a drink I was carded and I produced my government ID and this was not accepted, and the exact reason was not given to me.
The bar staff did however act in a polite manner.

This won't stop me from coming back here, however I won't purchase alcohol. In any case the drinks remain overly priced for these events.

Parking is tough, seats high up are too high up!

By Carol C |

Be careful to plan your seats not near the top because it is way too steep. A friend of mine was feeling affects similar to vertigo with seats 8 away from the top. Our seats recently were on the floor, and were perfect. Acoustics are great. Parking is a challenge.

It's okay.

By lntrn2687 |

Came here twice for concerts.

The staff outside the venue are very lazy. We had standing section tickets and were supposed to line up according to ticket number. We were there three hours before the starting time and just got lined up randomly. People that showed up last minute were allowed to cut to the front of the line.
After the concert, we were picking up our things and security inside were screaming at us to get out. All the exits were crowded with people, we couldn't exactly go anywhere.

The second time we had assigned seats but we had to wait two hours in the freezing rain. The concert started an hour late.

Very unorganized. Staff that didn't want to be there. You'd think they would have learned from the first time.

First-ever visit to Prudential for "80s night!"

By Mdgrl79 |

Prudential Center has been around for quite a while now, and though I've lived about a half hour away since long before it opened, I'd never visited until June 2017 for a fantastic concert by one of my faves, Tears for Fears, and Hall & Oates. I specifically went to this show for Tears for Fears, whom I've seen before and who are one of the best live bands around. Their show did not disappoint! Now as for the venue itself, the good: 1) for an arena, the acoustics are outstanding! It actually sounded more like an outdoor concert. 2) my seat was pretty comfortable. 3) It's pretty modern inside, a nicely done construction. 4) The view from the upper deck (200s) was not bad at all for the price (side stage). The frustrating: 1) Security workers are SLOW. We knew Tears for Fears went on at 715, barely made it to our seats in time. 2) Sitting in the upper deck is absolutely terrifying because it is so steep! Like there is NO way you can get up and dance when you sit up there. Everyone was sitting down the whole time because they HAD to. 3) There are LONG lines everywhere. Bathrooms, merchandise, etc...it's ALL a crowded mess. I think I waited for over 20 min, to purchase a Tears for Fears shirt. The bad: 1) This one is simple - It's in Newark. We parked a block away (not cheap, by the way!) and when the concert was over, there were all sorts of sketchy folks out and about. Newark is NOT a good area and what ever possessed anyone to think building a major arena in Newark was a good idea is beyond comprehension. Money, money, money, I suppose. A VERY generous four-star rating, but I'm rounding up from 3.5 stars.

Took my wife to a concert for Valentine’s Day🥰 we had a good time and I would recommend going as I’ve gotten good tickets to previous concerts

Devils Destroyed Panthers In Stanley Cup Playoffs

By Steve Y |

Came here again, despite my previous negative experience. However on this occasion it was worthwhile. I saw the New Jersey Devils trounce the Florida Panthers 4-0!
Was a super-fantastically awesome game. Loved the crowd and energy...you can just feel the electricity in the air!
Playoff games are so much more exciting than regular season games.
Prudential Center is truly the Devil's Rock!

the building is so cool the Devil mascot is so cool

By jonson |

Great stadium I don’t follow hockey as much as I used to but I love the Devils my favorite Hockey Team the building is so cool the Devil mascot is so cool and the place is awesome they also have several shows like Disney on ice

Monster Jam in Newark

By Jazzz |

I was trying to figure out how good would monster jam be in an indoor venue and it was amazing! The noise level was not as loud as I thought it would be. Nothing but amazing. This was the perfect indoor venue for this event!

Concerts and devils game

By Barbara S |

For concerts this is a decent venue. The seating is comfortable and there's lots of bathrooms and food near by wherever you sit. I enjoy prudential for hockey more than other arenas as the temperature is always comfy and the beer is always cold! Their selection of food is pretty good too. Parking can be pricey so we either take the train or park off the beaten path.

Rather typical city venue

By dpg1988 |

The Prudential Center is a lovely building and great venue to see the Devils. Huge concourses with many food venues. However, the food and bathroom lines seem to constantly be long as the employees behind the food counters seem to go at the speed of a snail. Between periods, there is no way you can go to the restroom, get something to eat, and get back to your seat without missing part of the game. Also, as in most pro sports arenas, the food is ridiculously expensive. Go to Hobbies a few blocks away for a great Kosher style sandwich instead of buying something in the arena. Parking is another issue. Besides being expensive, many of the lots are 3-5 blocks from the arena and once you are a few blocks away, there is no police presence, the street lighting is not good, and you feel a little vulnerable. However, we've never experienced any problems, so perhaps I am being a bit overly concerned. The walk from the arena to Penn Station is better as there is both a police presence and a good amount of fans heading to the station together. Suggest arriving about 90 minutes early to avoid the horrendous traffic in Newark.

Attended Celine Dion Concert

By FLBFive |

Parking adjacent to the center was $45.00. I'm sure you could find more reasonable parking. Seats were comfortable in our section but not roomy. Place appears to be well maintained. Aren't going to rate the performance, but the center. I found the acoustics was not great. Help at the counters were quick, although you know anything purchased is expensive which is to be expected. Wouldn't hesitate to attend any other events here.

Horrible experience in the ADA seats

By NuJerzee610 |

From beginning to the end problems . The staff was rude and unfriendly and all I did was ask for help for my daughter we were in the ADA seats and we received no help at all . Horrible sound system couldn’t make out what the entertainers were saying . Cold food and when I asked for a new order I was met with aggression . Prudential Center I was willing to show my daughters credentials so she would be treated fairly and get to enjoy the show like everyone else . Please do better so everyone can have a good time .

Def Leppard/ Journey concert

By Chemorn |

Enjoyed the layout of the arena . Escalators available. Many food and drink options. Staff very helpful. Assisting to find your seats. Seating is very crammed in. We were in section 111. My poor husband who is tall and has a bad knee was extremely uncomfortable in the seats. Many bathrooms around arena. Sound quality I didn’t think was good. Many times during both bands playing the feedback was very annoying. Music didn’t sound clear. Loved the countdown clock to start time of show.

Concert!

By Nathan D |

Came here with my wife for the Katy Perry concert. The venue was very nice and clean, acoustics were good, and the services were all great. Given the audience, I had basically unlimited access to the men’s room and to the bar, both pluses! Overall a great show.

ELO concert

By Jeff W |

This was the first time at this venue in about 3 years. My wife and I attended the ELO concert last night. The venue itself is very clean and our seats were comfortable. Some of the other venues in our area are dirty and run down. On the downside is parking is very expensive, $40 to park near the venue, crazy numbers, we can park cheaper in NYC. We were looking for someplace nice to eat before the show. There is one restaurant in the venue but most of the online reviews for the restaurant were not good. We opted the take a short walk to eat in one of the Spanish restaurants in the area. More about that in a separate review of the restaurant we wound up in. After the concert getting out of the building was easy, the staff guided people to different exits around the building. Getting out of the parking lot was very difficult. Only 1 exit out of every lot. no staff or police working the lots. We havr been to many concerts and sports events in our area and never had problems like this getting home. With that said i still would attend other events at the Prudential Center.

Marc Anthony Concert

By Sparklenurse46625 |

Although I absolutely love Marc Anthony and his beautiful voice, he did not sing One song in English. Needless to say I was disappointed not to have heard my favorite songs, not one. Would not go see another show of his.

Concert event

By Anonymous |

We went to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra which was amazing, them themselves 100% recommend! However the staff at the Prudiential Center is not exactly the most friendly nor organized. Center members were personable and helpful but some were not so much. The most disappointing part was that after a half hour of the show the staff were still allowing people in and they would walk by and stop in the middle of the aisle blocking my view. Staff needs to organize getting people in by the start of the show better because it takes away from the experience and it’s extremely rude. Otherwise the show was great but the Prudential Center itself needs to work on some staff organization.

Good Event Venue

By arubaphil |

The Prudential Center is an event facility located in Newark New Jersey. Our most recent visit was for the ELO concert. We have also attended other events in the past from concerts to New Jersey Devils ice hockey games. All events have been professionally run, parking lots and garages are within easy access and the facility is modern and well maintained. There are many food options available inside the arena as well as restaurants within walking distance. The Prudential Center is a good facility fot you to attend many and varied events.

Nice Devils game, what to know

By gostartraveler |

A hockey game here is incredibly loud. We've been to other sporting events, including collegiate ice hockey, and my kid does have noise cancelling headphones, however.... I don't know if it's the acoustics or what, but for a bigger venue than say a college hockey venue, it seems sounds are louder. I don't think my kid would have a good time here even with the headphones.

Prudential Center concessions are ridiculously and needlessly expensive. Don't ask what I paid for a bag of pretzels and a bottle of soda.

My ticket was in Section 131 which is the nosebleed seats but still had great sightlines, helped by the lights on the ice and the Jumbotron.

There are better seats but are either suite level (the two sections directly below where I was) or are premium seats.

You can watch warmup but unless you're in one of those premium seats, the chance of getting a puck is slim to none. There's netting from the top of the Plexiglas to the ceiling where you can stand to watch warmup.

An Official (with a capital O) game puck with case is $25. They have other, souvenir pucks with different designs sans case for $10 that are just as nice.

I really like the Devils promoting their First Game certificates. Real easy too : Leave your name on a pad and pick it up by third period. And two locations, too. A lot of places are getting rid of such certificates, or are doing print at home (boo!) Doesn't cost a lot to do them, so it was nice to see the Devils doing this.

We watched the New Jersey Devils game with great pleasure in this beautiful venue and rink.

Prohibitive rates inside but business is business, you have no choice!

First time watching ice hockey here and I had the best time! The staff were really helpful finding our seats, loads of food and drink options. And even though we were sat quite high up the view and atmosphere were great!

Awful

Awful food and we were only two off two tables occupied!!! Food was totally overdone!,my burger was hard all round the edges, onion rings fried to a crisp, food was very poor and unacceptable,my partners fish was again burnt to a crisp,we pointed this out to the waitress, who apologised, terrible,we shall never eat here again.

Enjoyed the arena and services available. The performance was perfect for the arena. Only downside is that parking is sometime hard to find nearby. Most people usually have to pay for parking lot spots.

Concert

By Jose C |

Nice venue. The surrounding area is a little ghetto but once you are inside it's nice. A lot of food to chose from and alcohol.

audio on the top level is ot the greatest

By nancyv1115 |

Small enough to have a better audio. The top level sounds very muffled and if you don't know the songs you are not hearing anything.

Stevie Nicks concert

By travel_the_world_melissa |

My first time here I was really impressed by the friendly staff whom was very organized and got people to their seats fast and out the door fast. I had seats to the front and went through a separate entrance to get to my seat which I thought was great. It looked as if every seat was a good seat to see everything. My seat was excellent and I will be coming back here to see another concert soon. Be prepared to pay at least $30-$40 for parking that was the only downfall. However I live close by so next time I will uber it there and home a lot cheaper than the parking.

awesome place to attend with the family, scarey place newark to get to using train system, lol.

My first time going to Prudential Center

By Rahiem H |

I went there the first time after I won the tickets to Michael B. Jordan HBCU College Basketball Classics from HOT97 radio station and I went with my dad there and we got good seats to see the game and the food was ok but expensive!!! But we enjoyed the place though!!!! It was amazing!!!

Celine Dion Concert

By Don S |

Celine Dion sang beautifully tonight. The sound system was so poor i felt like leaving. I think i would have if my wife wasn't with me.
Not sure whose fault. The venue? The Concert Producers? I wouldn't go there again!

Woooo!

By Dale-icious |

We visited the Prudential Center to watch New Jersey Devils vs Colorado Avalanche - luckily we managed to buy tickets online at such a great rate it would have been a shame not to go.

We travelled to the venue by train, departing at Newark Penn Station, which is located literally across the road.

Upon arrival, the obligatory security checks were executed. As you would always hope and expect, the staff were respectful, pleasant and well informed for any question customers had.

Inside the venue, customers are treated to a variety of food and drink choices, from junk food to slightly more healthier options. The prices are what you'd expect of this type of venue (slightly higher than normal, but nothing you'd need a mortgage for).

Despite being seating very high up, we still had a great view of the game and would happily choose those seats again.

You're sure to have a great time if you choose to visit.

Good fun night out

By PAUL E |

...but expensive for the whole family, even in the cheap seats up high! Pretty decent view even 3 rows from the back. Puck moves fast but even a first timer can follow what's going on.

Easy to access from the PATH train from World Trade Centre etc.

No fight on the ice (shame - was looking forward to that!) and still haven't got over, $14 for a can of beer. Wow.

Clean and Organized

By Trancy_Ackerman |

I went to the Wings tour here and the staff were pretty good and organized. It could have been better, but overall the experience was pleasant. The building was clean, especially the bathrooms and there isn't a bad seat in the place. (Trust me I had the most expensive and the cheapest seats over the course of two days and both had good views.) It's a pretty awesome venue overall.

Nice Venue

By AlexanderD |

I went to the Prudential Center for the first time a few weeks ago and was rather impressed by this bright, modern venue. It is relatively easy to get to and to park and there are a few places to eat nearby.

Concert and New Jersey Devils home-venue in the heart of downtown Newark, New Jersey. Mere feet from bus lines leading to both other towns and the train station. Numerous restaurants and bars are nearby. Food and beverages, including beer are sold onsite. Many big-named performers perform here.

NJD - VKG

By Taneli R |

Nothing to complain about. Really quick get-in and really quick get out, so I was happy. Fiendly staff and a good atmosphere for a hockey game. They know how it works, it’s the NHL after all.

The only thing I was not totally happy with was that the Devils won the game. Haha.

"The Rock" Newark, NJ #1

By Dawn R |

I have been to several concerts at "The Rock" Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. I am from Kearny, NJ and I have never ever had a issue here. Prudential security and Newark Police Department. #1 in making me feel safe..... Prudential Center needs more Country Music events...... My last event was Garth Brooks.

Bruno Mars Concert-Total Rip Off

By Frank G |

We paid big bucks for 4 tickets to Bruno Mars and we had the worst seats that I have ever had. We were on the side (section 215) and at least 1/2 of the view was obstructed at all times. No screens were provided and you literally could not see much of what was taking place. This concert and the arena totally disregarded folks sitting in this area and could have cared less. Stay away from this place. It is a terrible concert venue.

Hockey Game

By Ashely Fang |

Cool stadium, but unfortunately a bit of a hike from nearby public transport stations. Food is mediocre and expensive, but I suppose there's no avoiding that. Entrances can be a bit hard to find. Obviously not the sort of place you go to without reason (like a sports game, concert, etc).

Nice venue for concert

By Patricia M |

I attended the Miranda Lambert concert 3/22/18. We were not told in advance on a particular door to use for the Pit/lower level seats. So we went in via the parking garage on Lafayette. Once there we were told that they could not scan our tickets there, but that it changes for every event. They told us where to go & we were not happy, as we were there right on time for doors to open & this would have been a huge inconvenience for us. We parked there for a reason. As we were walking away, they came out & hollered for us to come back and told us they would take us downstairs via that entrance anyway, so that we did not have to go looking for where to get in. Ends up there were a few other groups with the same issue, so a really nice girl took all of us downstairs and then we were able to get in with no further issues. Venue was nice, sounds were great, PIT tickets so we were on the floor. They did not have it jam packed, so you could actually move around, leave for the restroom or drinks & still get back to where you were. Lower level had their own bathroom & a couple of drink areas that were not super crowded like upstairs. Drinks were priced like every other venue. Lines for tshirts etc... were roped off and fairly orderly with quick moving staff. I went to one bar at the near section 18/19 and they had plenty of staff & were quick with getting you taken care of & served. Plenty of staff around to answer questions or help you find what you needed. We had one problem in the pit with a drunk person causing trouble, who then went to get staff to blame others. Security & staff were there very quick but they listened to everyone around them & actually escorted the one that that blamed others, out of the venue or put her somewhere else, we don't know but they took care of it. They did not remove the ones she blamed just because she said so. They were fair and responsive and once they left, everyone resumed having a good time with no further issues. The lower level seats looked to have a good view from where I was standing & the stairs to go up to the main floor were not too steep. Looked like a good view from most of the seating area, from what I saw. Bathrooms downstairs were clean as were the sink areas. I definitely enjoyed my visit there, would return for another concert. I will call ahead & make sure I know what door to enter from, the next time.

Star Wars Night!!

By Seanoldinho |

Went to see the New Jersey Devils here on Star Wars night. The venue is easy to get to from New York and when you get off the train you just walk through an indoor walkway.
Food and drink a bit pricey as is standard for these places but all staff were friendly and the whole night was great. We had great seats and feel you would have a good view wherever you sit.

Attended life changing events

By qtqueenrenee |

Attended UPW last year and this year, both times I had pleasant experiences with staff members.
Although last year, 2017 security made us throw away outside food when we were advised we could bring food in. The trash cans were overflowing with food from local markets. It was upsetting to many but there definitely was a disconnect from higher ups to event coordinators.

Devils games paid for a luxury box

By birdwars |

Went to a Devils the game they are never sold out. Paid extra to sit in level 2 boxes. For price no food included. Would have been willing to pay more to get food included but that was okay. Had to go into general ticket area to get food no services in luxury box area! The escalator only went to first level boxes than had to walk upstairs. Both my wife's and my legs were bothering us. Having been to boxes in Yankee stadium, Meadowlands and Madison square garden unacceptable! Then after first period went to use rest rooms. Men's room had only 1 stall bad, my wife told me one of the stalls in ladies room was broken and they left it that way. Whole ladies room stunk. Lastly the ushers left at 3rd period and people from cheap seats invaded our box. They need lots of improvement safe your money use other seats!!!!

NJ Devils are the best!

By Alex S |

We had a great time at the Prudential Center watching a New Jersey Devils game! The seats were excellent!

No bad seats

By mauiwolf |

We went here for a hockey game and the arena is branded quite well for the Devils.
The walk was only a few blocks from the train station, which was convenient.
The seats were comfortable. I didn’t feel cramped and the sight lines were good.
The arena was only at about 40% capacity, so getting food and drinks was easy.

Good concert experience.

By Bradt255 |

Was here to see a concert and had a good experience. There is enough parking close by with varying prices, ($20-$45 range). It is also close to Newark Penn Station which may be a better option for some. There are a couple places to get food nearby but there is food inside. The arena is in really good shape and doesn't look run over like some I've been to. The seating was pretty comfortable and the sound was surprisingly good. There is options for food and drink but none of it is a bargain....it never is at a stadium or arena. A good choice to see an event!

Great time

By Althea S |

Went to a great concert and it was lit. I enjoyed every bit of the concert. I was seated on the floor, but the chairs are not comfortable.

Worst concert I’ve ever been to

By Christina D |

My son and I were escorted out for taking a video. Interesting more, that everyone there was taking videos. I have people in my way taking videos. My son wanted to see this concert sooo much, and we were about 6 songs in before a security guard told me I could not take video. I put my phone away, and they still came a minute later and escorted me out. I had to tell them my son was walking towards the way we came in to leave. And a security guard had to tell the other 2 (bc it took 3 guards to take us out for a video? ) to let us leave that way. My 17 yr old was really upset after this experience. We go to so many shows together , and this was the first venue that made him feel really bad. Will never go back again… and for perspective, my entire family are huge Devils fans… my grandma and godfather both have bricks from when the Rock was built. But we were an easy target when we got kicked out from this concert… for a video.

Awesome venue

By GMoe |

Awesome venue for a hockey game. Never been to any other type of event here, but the sight lines, the in-game entertainment, the video boards, they're all about the best I've seen and I've been to many venues. Cost is expensive, which is in line with every other NHL venue. Not the best of neighborhoods but police presence is high on game nights. Never had any issues going to/from our car and we park several blocks from the building.

Great arena - poor location

By skaveesh |

While the arena is great for events, the location is horrible. Not enough bars/restaurants in the immediate area. Safety and the surrounding area is the big reason why this location (Newark) is horrible. That said we never had any issue but it's not a "feel good" safe city.

Huge Arena, great atmosphere!

By BDZTravels |

My daughter and I went to a Devil’s game at the Prudential Center as part of my endeavor to see every NHL team at their arena. First off, if you’re from out of town, we found using Amtrak at Newark Penn Station to be very convenient. We also stayed at the Hilton inside Penn station just off the skywalk which we found to be extremely safe since we didn’t have to walk outside the station at all. The path to the prudential center from Penn station is as follows: once you depart the train, take the elevator up to “ML” Main Level. Go up one set of escalators by the Dunkin’ Donuts and just keep walking straight to “Gateway 4” building that will pop you right out by Prudential. The Hilton you will run into along the way. But anyway, back to prudential.

We had a hotdog that was just sitting in a heater, so naturally the bun was nothing but mush, so I don’t recommend that. Right next to their main “Devil’s Den” store they have this booth that will customize a hockey card of yourself with a position and number - absolutely free! My daughter loved that! After you complete that, they will give you a 25% off voucher for ANY jersey you may want to purchase. A pretty decent deal.

The only reason I took a star off was the workers next to the Devil’s Den that printed out the cards were completely clueless as to where the Devil’s Den was! On the jersey voucher it said 25% off any jersey at Devil’s Den. Great! So naturally, if you’ve never been somewhere the next question will be - where is Devil’s Den? They had no idea, and it was only about 20 feet away!

Next, if you are in the 200s section, best to use the escalators unless you like a good workout before the game. Signage was poor to tell fans where to go for higher levels, but the lady manning the stairs told me to “just keep going up.” The seats are pretty tight together and uncomfortable, but they are cheap tickets too. The biggest thing I had a problem with was that during the play, they have these ridiculous costumed character with big heads stand in the section below that will block your view of the goal on the near side. And if it’s not them, the usher will likely block your view. We were in section 216, row 6, seats 3 and 4. They should sell those seats as partial views with all the hindered views.

As for parking around the arena, it seemed as though there were many places around the arena to do so. Using the skywalk though we found to be an extremely convenient and safe alternative to walking the streets of the city. I also did buy one of the classic red DEVIL’s jersey and was pleasantly surprised to see my size with a 3XL. It was $107 with the 25% off. They have this super smart and convenient rack that spins around from the ceiling to the ground with sizes going from smallest to largest…very smart.

Parking was VERY expensive $40.00 . My cousin Graduation was held there and only found one vendor open which was selling 16oz bottle for $5 ea . the place needed to turn on the heat a bit because it was very cold in there and there was no ice on the floor

Concert

By Liz M |

My daughter and I went to see a BTS concert last night. We were in section 110. Upon buying the tickets, I wE concerned that we would not be able to see very well because we were up in the balcony section. However, I am pleased to report that we had a very good seat! The stage was so close to us even though we were up higher. We both had a blast, her especially. I would definitely attend another event here in the future. Kudos to the entire staff at the Prudential Center.

Sound in mezzanine was HORRIBLE!

By edcas |

Saw Springsteen April 14, 2023. Sat in mezzanine. Bruce was amazing! The sound was so horrible!! It was a combination of terrible things. It sounded at times muffled, sometimes squelchy, often painfully loud. It was like you could hear some elements louder than others. I knew all the songs, so I sang along, but you could not make out the words Bruce was singing. I had a friend that only knew a few and couldn't make out what any of the lyrics were. It reminded me of the muffled sound when you are standing outside a concert. You hear the beat, but you can't make out anything clearly. That was a little like that, only we were sitting inside the venue and while it was muffled, it was also too loud. At times we winced from the pain and had to put our fingers in our ears it was so bad. It was our 4th concert recently, and we had no issues at other venues (Madison Square Garden and Metlife). But still, I thought perhaps it was something with us since I didn't see any complaints online. Days later I ran into someone who went to the same concert and sat in the mezzanine (different section) and I asked how the sound was for them. They experienced the exact same thing. They said it was physically painful to their ears at times and it was muffled. I thought perhaps it was Bruce's team that caused the terrible sound. I couldn't imagine that a venue wouldn't know about its own sound issues. However, more searching online found other complaints about the same issue at previous concerts revealing that it is likely the venue's sound system. I have been to the Prudential Center once before for a concert, but was on the floor. I recall the sound being fine, I think it is just areas of the venue that have a problem. Worst concert experience I have ever had, despite loving the performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I am looking forward to seeing him in August at MetLife. I know it will be better! I dont' think I will ever go back to the Prudential Center.
(other note: we were lucky to get in to the venue quickly, but we got to the venue very early, before 6pm and waited by the doors. Doors opened at 6:30 for a 7:30 show. That was way too late. People were stuck in line until after 8. I only saw ONE employee outside the venue to guide/organize people and that was for the general admission line) If you are going to open the doors so late for a show, you need organizers because everyone has to come at the same time and it will create a mob. They are asking for an injury to occur)

Casting Crowns Concert

By 785jimwilson |

WOW! They were amazing! I did not know many of there songs. I was completely blown away by their energy, faith and talent. The audience was totally into it. On our feet for a good part of the show. Opening acts-Austin French and Zach Williams were very good as well.
I would go see them again and again! Praise Jesus!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra!!

Phenomenal show!! Simply amazing and intoxicating, I was on the edge of my seat. If you have not seen TSO live I HIGHLY recommend you get yourself a ticket asap. Just when you thought the show was over the performed six more songs with an awesome finale! Such an amazing experience we will never forget. Prudential Center was a very clean and well organized facility. Great experience.

Not organized!

By Son'ja S |

I attended the gospel celebration in 2017 and really enjoyed it. There were many great gospel acts that year. This year I flew my mother up to attend and we were both disappointed. I purposely arrived late (closet to 7pm) because I don’t care to see the local acts. However, the locals performed from 5pm until 9:45pm. EVERYONE was annoyed, several shouted out “start the show!!” Fred Hammond was the first act around 10pm but followed by him was a 30min presentation to the host and Aretha’s family. After the presentation a prayer(couldn’t find the person who was suppose to say the prayer), then the Mayor spoke followed by the president of some organization. Each celebrity that came out stated they weren’t given much time. I find that very ridiculous as they made us sit and watch locals for FIVE HOURS. At 9:30 I really wanted to go down and just try to get my money back. The mics were going out on several acts which was annoying. There was not a moment that you went into a praise at all!l;There was too much going on in between acts! I will never return unless they have a new organizer/coordinator. There was no sense in having a 5 hour local act then rush all the gospel artist off the stage. I left after Yolanda Adams at 11:15 and she was only act four. Didn’t see Donnie nor Hezekiah. I’m sure they didn’t get on stage until after midnight.

Beautiful arena. Purchased tickets that day. Of course they were in the nose bleed section but that was okay. Clean, bathrooms were clean. Lots of space to walk around to get to vendors.
Only a couple of restaurants near by. Not a great area at night.

GOOD PLACE TO SEE A SHOW

By NUTN2000 |

Been here for a couple of concerts in the past. Not my favorite venue, but a very good place to see a show.
Parking was easy and it is only 30 minutes from Staten Island....why travel to MSG if they are playing here?
I would return.

Devils game

By HabLeaf |

Second time here to see the Devils {though not Devils fans} and the place is impressive with a good range of food inside and everything seems well organised.
Picked up tickets with ease at the Will Call and got my photo taken at Marty's statue.
A great evening out.

Amazing Cher concert!

By Eric & Olaf |

Great night with a legend. However, the VIP experience we paid for was completely botched. While employees were very helpful, and we talked to about 10, only 2 were able to give us accurate information and they went out of their way to help. The other 8 sent us in the wrong directions. I realize this is more the fault of the VIP provider but it also reflects on your venue, in that you are not requiring that provider to give ticket holders enough information.  A simple sign would have helped and you could very well require them to have a sign, or better yet an employee, at the entrance to guide VIP guests. Admittedly. we had incomplete information.  We were given tickets as a gift and the giver didn't give us complete information. We did queue up at your VIP entrance but that was the wrong entrance. No arena employee at the gate knew where we were supposed to be. A sign would have helped. Coming to you for the first time, being ill-prepared, a VIP entry seemed like the right place.  We were wrong, but someone should have been able to help us. It really killed the experience.  Once inside your employees tried diligently to help us, but they didn't know where we should be.  Once we were within 20 ft of the VIP check-in at the Ford entrance and your gatekeeper turned us around and sent us to something called 22-1 which turned out to be wrong and we got sent back to the Ford entrance.  We spent 30 min walking all over the venue.  Finally finding the VIP check-in, that representative was amazingly rude to us, telling us we were late and would probably miss the reception room.  I will take that up with them, but this is a very poor reflection on you.  Having guidelines of how what I assume is a subcontractor handles your guests would be a very appropriate idea.  A first class experience this was not.

Also, after the event, you need to do a better job getting people out of the venue.  It took almost 15 minutes to exit the arena to the street.  If there had been an emergency, it would have been a disaster.  I passed exits that were blocked with trash cans and doors that could have been open.  What is the point of having a wall of doors and only two open?  Wheelchair guests were needing to go over ground cable bumps backward and slowing exit traffic. You must have a disaster plan; it is not evident. I am sure there are regulatory controls over this.

And finally, you could use a designated spot or plan for attendees to meet Uber or Lyft drivers.  That would be a nice amenity to add

I waited 2.5 yrs for this show & was not disappointed

By KathyC |

Despite being in the nosebleed section, I have zero complaints. I had read all the information emailed to me prior to the show so getting through security & ticket scan went very quickly. Location information is relatively clear although I did get momentarily confused at the top of the escalator for the 200 sections. The usher could have been a bit clearer on where my seat was but I did find it and the show was great. Props to sound & lighting crews.

Great place to see a concert!

I saw Bruno Mars as well as Several Devils games at The Prudential Center. The arena is immacualte and well lit! The staff is also friendly and courteous!

Quick off site parking tip

By t3hnhoj |

This isn't a review for the Prudential Center itself but for parking that can be bought beforehand through their official website which is kind of misleading. Prudential Center itself is a fine place to see a concert or game. Food is pricey, drinks are pricey but for the tri-state area, it's fine.

Now on to the main reason for this review:

If you bought a parking spot in their color zone, they don't give you an actual address which can be confusing if you're not from the area.

If you buy the $25 or so parking option specifically in the Yellow 2 - Gateway III Garage at Prudential Center the address you need to set your GPS to is 299 Market St, Newark, NJ 07102.

For whatever reason, they give you the general area but never any address that I could find. After searching in the snow last night, we finally found it. Best of luck.

another fine place to visit

By DREW R |

excellent arena, when you eventually get in. i don't know what it's like for hockey games but for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band organisation didn't seem to be on the menu. Terrible experience trying to get in. not enough doors, no orderly queues. Having said that, I managed to manoeuvre myself to the front and made sure I got in on time for the concert. Once inside, the arena itself is excellent. Spacious concourse, easy to find your seat which was very comfortable.

One of Newark's crown jewels.

By Kiwiwriter |

Another place whose groundbreaking and opening night I did...it is absolutely tremendous in every way, and has really helped put Newark back on the map, hosing Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Taylor Swift, the Ringling Brothers Circus, NCAA Final Eight, and Super Bowl 48 Media Day. Great place for anything.

By Sunshine34500 |

This extraordinary venue is top dog and a joy to behold in Newark. Built by Prudential, this is a cornerstone of a proud community. The acoustics are stellar and hosts the best of the best, rock star concerts, sports games, theater, conventions and exhibits. It also employs a huge amount of people, including excellent security inside and out the Prudential Center.

Greg & Kat’s Prudential Center Experience

By Greg Harris |

The Prudential Center is an amazing multipurpose arena based in Newark, New Jersey. Opened in 2007, it serves as the home of the New Jersey Devils of the NHL and hosts a multitude of concerts, live productions and even UFC events.

In January of 2024, I brought and treated myself and my wife for a visit to the Prudential Center to attend the “Disney On Ice:Find Your Hero.” Both my wife and I highly enjoyed watching the show at the Prudential Center!!!

The Disney On Ice is a captivating ice show featuring ice skaters playing the roles of Disney characters in performances derived from Disney films. My wife and I were absolutely impressed with the awesome performance of the ice skaters and were in awe of the dazzling light, sound effects and the mesmerizing music featured throughout the show!!!

We found our seats at Prudential Center to be quite comfortable, loved the Center’s acoustics and the great quality view that we experienced while watching the show.

We highly recommend for everyone to attend and watch the “Disney On Ice” at this wonderful performance entertainment venue!!!

Always a great time when we go to the Prudential Center for a hockey game. The arena is easy to get to and from the parking. It is also very clean inside. If you can catch a game or concert here. Train station is within walking distance also.

Great Venue...

Fortunate enough to see Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull at the Prudential Center earlier this week. What a terrific venue to see a show. Staff was pleasant and organized bringing in guests. Food selections were varied and quite tasty! Will seek out other opportunities to see other shows at the Prudential Center. Worth the extra money to park close to the center!

Great place to see a show

The Prudential Center was a great place to see a show. We were there for the U2 Experience and Innocence tour. It was easy to find, we parked close by, and to kill some time on a broiling hot day, we went to the Grammy Museum. Nice experience overall.

great venue!! clan, easy to get to... great seats!! habe also been here for a hockey game..good food and drinks too

Saw our first concert here.

By srss96 |

Venue isn’t too bad but the parking is awful. Very expensive & the parking spots are pitiful. Not only do you pay a lot for a concert ticket but then pay $40 for a parking spot...that should be illegal. Also pricing for food, snacks or drinks in the venue is absurd. Not sure if I’d go back?!

Eat before you go

By Lynn L |

The venue is amazing. Small enough that no matter where you sit, you’ll have an amazing view. But eat before you go. Hard and cold chicken fingers, and soggy cold fries for $12.00 a piece. When we asked about it, they said there was nothing they could do. Eh, not a great first impression. ALSO, the escalator only goes up until 30 mins before the show ends. So the only way down is the elevator or stairs that are blocked off. So from a safety stand point, that did not settle well. Lastly, most all the bathrooms were dirty, and half the stalls were closed. Made lines long.

Amazing projections

By Ali A |

I've been to many hockey arenas and thought I had seen it all, but the projections on the ice at this arena makes it a site worth visiting for a Devils game. The game day experience itself was average (stadium food and drink), but the ice itself comes to life and becomes a giant movie screen as the projectors display highlights and videos across it! It's unlike anything I've seen. Definitely check out a Devils game -- it's worth doing just to marvel at the projections on the ice!

Casting Crowns Concert!

By Denise C |

The parking is not fun! We left the traffic jam and found parking for $25.00 dollars, but there are other places if you can get in up to $40.00 dollars. Upon entering the venue it warm, and this being our 1st time the staff was very friendly. We went up the escalators and then had to take the elevator to EL to arrive at the floor level. The price of water is $5.00 dollars. (Ouch!) The seats are tight but plenty of room to stand up for stretching. The higher you sit the steeper the climb to your seat.

Always great

By Jake23 |

We came here for the Elton John concert. Prudential Center has a much cozier atmosphere than some of the other arena in our area and we always have a great time here for both sporting events or concerts. Parking is usually fine as well.

Great venue

By bodhi0916 |

Went for Devils game. Even 200 level seats were great. Crazy huge jumbotron!! Clean and nice and their fans were great to us who were the opposing team's fans. Had a lot of fun. Many food and beer choices. Very nice arena and I have been to many!

Barry Manilow at the Prudential Center

By MsSKD |

This was my first Barry Manilow concert and he gave a great show. The large screens at the Prudential Center magnified what was going on on stage, and even though I was in the 11th row, this enhanced the performance. If you want to go there from NYC, New Jersey transit is the very best method, as it is a short ride and less expensive than the $40 parking there. The station is a short four block walk, and the trains are frequent out of Penn Station, NY. There are not very many restaurants in the vicinity, so if you are looking for a good meal pre-show, have it early before arriving.

Great to see a Show

By ateamofbrooklin |

Went to see BTS in March at the Prudential Center. All the staff was helpful and friendly. We had floor tickets and the security team was on the ball making sure everyone was safe, including making sure that the beverage person came by more frequently to sell water to the concert goers.

Last visit. I promise.

Well situated venue for shows and sporting events...

By Jorge C |

The ROCK is a nice venue with good views from all seats. It have good food and drinks once you are in. The suites are well situated on its own private floor.

They need a bag check and signage

By susiesci |

The Pac is a great location to see a concert or athletic event. Definitely huge, world class. However, they NEED an off site bag check. People come with huge back packs and the security line backs up and we stood outside in the cold for 35 minutes. We were at the concert 30 minutes early and were still late for the start of the show. We had to find our seats in the dark. This is because security took so long to check peoples' bags. We had no bags. Contrast this with the US Open tennis venue. They have many lines for people with no bags or a small clear plastic bag. Those that choose to carry large bags wait in their own slow lines.

Fun Place for a Hockey Game

By Gerard D |

On a recent NHL game vacation we attended a New Jersey Devils game at the Prudential Center. I found that this arena was one of the best I have attended in recent years. It is located very close to public transportation and many hotels in the area.
I found the atmosphere to be exciting and the game was entertaining. The seating areas are great with excellent sight lines. We sat in the lower section and had no issues with seeing the game. There are a ton of concessions where you can get your typical arena fast food and there were some healthy choice food as well. Expect to pay a premium price, as you would at any arena. Access was quick and easy as well. I think any event you attend at this arena would be entertaining.

Great for hockey games

Good for the games and good for concerts. The seating is a bit steep and scary though. But ok if you don't look down while you're exiting.

Facility Beautiful but Employees Horrible

By ScottieLover66 |

I knew arriving to this K-Pop concert that it was going to be chaos & bedlam because it was raining. Upon arrival there was no staff directing concert goers for general admission or VIP, etc. Outside of the venue there were over 6,000 people gathered and unsure of how to get in, many concert goers were lined up in lines that didn't go anywhere. We waited in line for over 30 minutes and my daughter finally went and asked a staff member if the doors were open and if so where we could proceed to get inside out of the pouring rain. She was told verbatim by the staff member to cut in line at a particular door that we were near and I looked at him and said are you sure we're supposed to cut in line and he said yes cut in line right there. He also said he didn't have any idea where the line started. We had to push our way through and it was suffocating, there were mother's with babies, small children and elderly. Somebody really could have gotten hurt and I saw on TikTok that there were people who were actually thrown out because there was no direction and people were pushing and shoving. When we finally got into the door my daughter was told that she had to remove her belt because it had a chain on it. The worst part about it is as soon as we entered Prudential Center there were so many other people wearing belts with chains. There was no consistency with the staff they were extremely rude and nasty and weren't helpful at all. Because of this disorganization the artist had to start the show 30 minutes late.. The only positives were the seats were extremely comfortable, the concert goers were very friendly and the facility itself was nice... Prudential Center Management needs to take a deeper look at how employees are treating customers that are spending a lot of money to attend events at this facility and being treated so poorly. I want to reiterate that someone really could have been hurt very badly while waiting in line in the pouring rain for this event. There were a lot of people walking around selling unlicensed merchandise and being very pushy and aggressive. Seeing the artist was so worth it however the employees left little to be desired.

Great overall experience

Great arena for a hockey game. Seats are comfortable and views are good. Staff hold patrons until stoppage in play (not every arena does). Good food and drink options. Easy in and easy out. Within walking distance of train station so easy commute fromNew York City.

Great venue for watching hockey especially as a Devils fan! We sat on the second level towards the goal and was treated to a buffet style dinner open almost all night including desert.

Great Concert Lower and Floor Seating. Uppers are Scary.

By Andrew R |

We went to the Bon Jovi concert, and had 200 level seats. They are practically vertical, and look straight down. My fiance and her friends didn't want to move for fear of tumbling forward and down to the floor. We went to guest services, and they changed our seats to a level lower, with better viewing and not as scary for the girls. Those seats were not bad.

Dinner before the concert at the restaurant at the box level restaurants. Most people do not know that the restaurant is open to the public, but it was not bad.

To my followers:
Give the restaurant on the suite level a try. There are two restaurants, at the far ends of the arena. Good burgers. Worth a try, especially to impress a date.

The home of the NHL's New Jersey Devils, and numerous shows and concerts. I was here to see the Rolling Stones on 12/15/2012...great show from a best R&R group at a great venue.

Gluten free and vegan options available

By Nina Zee |

When I came here last, I don't recall seeing this so I wanted to post this so people were aware that they had these options.
As you are near the jersey wall, there is a stand that has gluten free and healthy options. If you walk from here towards section 15, on the right hand side there is a place that has salads and vegan options.
We were here Friday night to see the Canucks. The arena itself is ok. The selection of fan gear seemed small. There are not a lot of food options surrounding the arena itself compared to a lot of arenas.
We took the train in from NYC and it was pretty easy and fast (from Columbus Circle to Penn Station). We had great seats; 2 row off the glass and they were extremely cheap.

Disappointing

By Emma S |

Being an avid ice hockey fan and having been to a few other arenas around the USA I can say that this is a modern arena with all the facilities and food options that you would expect. Entry was using mobile tickets that were scanned at the entrance so very quick getting in (there are bag checkers and scanners as you would expect at such an arena).
However, someone had clearly found the air conditioning switch. We were in block 229 right at the top center ice and it was a Tuesday night so the arena was only about half full so why they felt the need to make it as cold inside as it was outside I'll never know. I was sat with my hat, gloves, scarf and big coat on. The concourse was a normal temperature but the seating was so cold You could feel the temperature difference instantly, like opening the freezer door.
Also - i have never had such little leg room in all my life. I am 5 foot 2 and I really struggled. I would hate to have been any taller. Maybe it just because were in the cheap seats.
For those travelling from NYC - Take the PATH train (Changing at Journal Square) or an NJ Transit train to Newark Penn Station.
The overall experience of the arena was not great compared to other arena's I have been in so I would not recommend watching hockey here other than to tick it off the list.

Studio suites rock!

Reserved a studio suite for the Devils vs Capitals game on 11/26. Great experience. Plenty of food. Great views. Comfortable seats. Our host Daniella was great. The only suggestion I have, is the suite needs better lighting particularly in the food serving area.

Love the Prudential Center. It is a great venue and there is tons of parking (the best is the garage which you can pre pay for and walk across the bridge they built connected to the venue without going outside). Also close to mass transit.

The "Rock" in Newark

The "Rock" is the large arena where rock concerts, college basketball, and the NJ Devils play. Located in the heart of Newark, NJ and across the street from the train station. Very good sight lines, limited merch, and amenities. Decent vibe for a large scale arena. Parking nearby is not cheap, but accessible.

A NICE VENUE IN NEWARK NJ!

By TripTips14 |

My husband, my adult daughter and I have attended several concerts at this venue including Stevie Wonder and Bruno Mars. The Prudential Center is on the tour schedule of many of the top entertainers. The building is a beautiful an easily accessible location by car, bus or train. It is easily walkable from Newark Penn Station. It is a wonderful alternative to traveling into NYC for the same concerts and the prices are often a little less expensive. There are restaurants within walking distance of the area if you would like to dine before or after the event. The down side are, the music can be loud depending on where you are sitting so bring ear plugs and the parking fees adjacent to the Pru center are as high as $50 during the concerts so check the surrounding parking lots. They are cheaper. There is a parking lot directly across from Penn Station which Is a lot more reasonable. ($21 - $30) The Prudential Center is a wonderful addition to Newark’ s entertainment and sports options! Give it a try.

Great venue for hockey

By Christine F |

The people who work at the Prudential Center are great, from the moment you come in for security, for tickets, seating and at all the concession stands. Everyone is pleasant, customer-focused and friendly. You do not find that in many other arenas.

The seating is good for hockey and except for it being a bit cold [I know it is for the ice], it is a good atmosphere. The beers are expensive, but no more than other arenas. We did not eat any food, but what I saw looked pretty good and everyone was eating all night.

The restrooms are clean and the walkways around the arena are well lit and clean.
