Impressive Facility

By JCW703 |

Red Rocks Amphitheater is located within Red Rocks Park. One is able to drive and park (on non-concert morning) to the top of the amphitheater and explore the seating, museum, and gift store. There are also trails throughout the park that lead to markers / overlooks that are worth doing.

An impressive feat of engineering given that it was all constructed by hand.

Magical places for concerts, hiking, and hanging out

By Whitney Lauritsen |

I've been here twice - once at night for a concert (OneRepublic in August 2019) and once during the day to walk around (September 2020). Both times I was blown away by the beauty of this place.

The second trip was more relaxed. No lines to get in and easy to park when there's no concert. They even have free electric car charging. Both times the parking was free and there was no admission during the day. You can walk around, exercise, and bring dogs.

Staff was very friendly during the concert. Attendees were kind too and everyone seemed very relaxed and happy. Hard to be in a bad mood here!

nice hike

By bsnell2018 |

We hiked red-rock and we were able to listen to a bit of a sound check. This is a beautiful location. Parking lots were full but once on the path we did not encounter many people. There were several porta potties along the paths. I would use them rather than the bathroom at the main entrance.

Worth the Climb

By Heather D |

The red rock formations are so beautiful…other worldly. It is well worth the climb to see the amphitheater. We did not see a show but the experience of being a part of this beautiful creation was awe inspiring.

Trails are well marked, some more challenging and steep, great views

By 906UPEh |

We were able to Uber from downtown Denver to Red Rocks for the day on a Friday afternoon. The Uber driver told us that we might have to wait a bit to catch a ride back, but we had no issues and the ride was roughly $25. There are some easier trails to walk and more challenging ones. We spent at least 3 hours walking around without any breaks, so plan on being there a while if you really want to hike the area. There are some concessions for food and drinks but the main restaurant was closed for remodeling when we went.

Great Views

By Sydney |

The amphitheater is great - whether you visit during the day or for a concert at night. Highly recommend the museum. It's also worth climbing up the steps and then hiking one of the trails.

Great to visit day or night

By donjol |

Beautiful to visit during the day. We explored the area visited the trading post and some trails. Later that day we attend a concert that was amazing. No matter we’re you sat the view was perfect and the sound was the best I ever heard. One other point the parking was very organized and easy to leave after the show. A must visit on your trip.

Entitled and attitudes in staff.

By Seaside191145 |

Well, got there two hours early to get better parking, we’re told we were too late, start the half mile hike with a knee replacement, only to discover that the upper close parking lot was 50% full, but we were denied access to it.
The attendants were picking and choosing who got to access good parking.

Unbelievable venue - wish we could have seen a show there

By MyersFamilyTravelers |

I have heard of this legendary venue and was glad to be able to see it first hand. Beautiful area and the amphitheatre did not disappoint. Be aware - if just going there to see it, there are no shuttles and it is a bit of an uphill walk to get to it, but the views are great.

Stunning!

By 10countriesin10yrs |

Definitely a must see! Take your time climbing the stairs. It was too hot when we went, but I would have loved to stay longer to take in the view.

Everything they say is true

By Denise W |

A bucket list check-off, this was the sole destination for me and my daughter and niece. The 8-hour drive from Kansas City was easy and without incident. We arrived at the park when cars were allowed inside and hiked around the grounds until we were able to get inside the amphitheater. One caution for older fans ~ there are hundreds of steps and many do not have handrails. You will have to walk a lot and the air is thinner at an altitude of 6450 feet. But worth it? 100%! The acoustics are perfect and the views breathtaking.

Red Rocks was awesome! The concert was amazing too.

By bcakes77 |

Red Rocks is such a natural beauty - it is worth the difficult climb to make it to the Amphitheater. Be prepared for a steady uphill climb to get to the top but well worth it. Beautiful pics of the whole surrounding area from the top. There is also an interesting museum that shows you all the famous musicians who played there which is just about anyone you have ever heard of.

We went one day to walk around and were able to get tickets for a concert a few days later. The concert was awesome and the ambience and acoustics were amazing. Check their website for showings so you can hopefully get tickets in advance. There are a lot of 3rd party websites that come up when you search and we found that they charge double to triple for the same seat so beware and buy directly from Red Rocks site. We sat in General admission about half way up and that was perfect!!

A must see if in Denver area!

By rhwells3711 |

My teen son and I visited Red Rocks while in Denver. It is such an amazing sight to see! The view from the top is remarkable. Don’t miss this if you are close.

Love!

By krissybee1979 |

We went during the day and visited the visitor center. Then we saw a concert at night. Breathtakingly beautiful and amazing sound! Love!

Will call trail and wonders of the amphitheater!!

By True M |

Best music venue but beware! Don’t get dropped off at the entrance if you have Will call passes! Get dropped off at Will Call/box office down the hill! But we did hike down the will call trail to get the backstage passes and wow. The experience and the beauty of it all surpasses all expectations!!

Another majestic place in the US

By Javy P |

This place is amazing! If you find yourself in Denver, take the short drive to the mountains and visit this place, be ready to hike a bit since there are multiple trails. We weren’t there long
enough to see a concert but I bet they rock! A must see!!!

Well worth the trip even in the day time

By JustBobL |

A beautiful facility with many inspiring views. There is lots of parking and admission is free during the day. You can wander as long as you like.

Loved Red Rocks Amphitheater

By Brian O |

Greatest outdoor venue I have ever attended. It is a climb should you choose not to take a taxi or shuttle to the top, but well worth it.

One of the Greatest Venues for a Concert

By ReadRibbet |

This was our third trip to Red Rocks. We had convinced friends we were traveling with to add this stop while we were in the area. We were able to secure tickets to an amazing Beatles tribute band 1964. We paid $50 for an individual ticket. There was an open space parking area. We gathered at the wait area until the park was open for the concert. (You can go to the park during nonconcert times as well.) While a spectacular land formation, getting into the amphitheater does require a decent hike with additional stairs to get to your seats. It can be strenuous for some folks. Check the restrictions on what you can and cannot bring in. Some information said you could not bring phones in, but phones were allowed at the concert we were at. You will be sitting on solid cement or aluminum seats. You can bring blankets. There are concessions available and restrooms. (There were multiple port-a-potties as well at the entrance waiting area.) I am not sure there is a bad seat in the house. It is spectacular to watch the sun set as the night lights of Denver fill the sky. It is just a great venue for a concert.

A Must See

By KimmyG |

We hadn't planned on stopping at Red Rocks but came across it while heading south along the Flat Irons and Rockies. Wow! Approaching Red Rocks through the tiny town is a challenge as there are many bikers and pedestrians who don't necessarily follow signage or traffic flow patterns. Proceed with caution. The enormous red rocks are sight to behold. We spent about 90 minutes walking around the trading post in trailheads. Several people shared that they made a full day of hiking the trails. It doesn't matter how long but definitely worth seeing at least once.

Oh the history

By Andrea.S |

It was so cool to see all the artists that had played here before, and the history of how it began was just awesome to see.

A must see for both geology and music

By pglejm |

Wish we could see an actual concert! Heard sound check with regular taped music and it sounded incredible! Stunning setting. People were exercising, running up and down the stairs, hopping from row to row, etc. It was quite a lovely place! The music hall of fame was a real treat!

Nice to visit if you're in the area.

By David and Josie |

We stopped here for a visit and enjoyed our time. The red rocks are very beautiful and great for photos. When we arrived we found out that there was a walking event happening and they were not allowing anyone not registered to enter the amphitheater area which was disappointing.Be prepared to do a lot of walking. There are restrooms and plenty of parking. If you have the time, stop on by.Also, the Hall of Fame Musuem is small but nice. The gift shop is nice as well.

Stunning Red Rock

By Ron L |

This place was so beautiful it is hard to express without going there, a friend told us to visit and I'm glad we did.

Beautiful area. Nice gift shop, hall of fame.

By joaniemaria |

We stopped on our way to Denver. The amphitheater is open to visitors until 3 pm. We were 5 minutes late, so that was disappointing since we wanted to see the actual theater. We were able to visit the gift shop and hall of fame. The parking lot and area is accessible. Worth a stop. It is a beautiful area. Would love to attend a concert here!

Absolutely beautiful but be ready for the workout.

By dodg1988 |

This place was great but holy cow, the hike from the lower parking lot is a killer. We went for a concert and I'm glad we did but I'm not sure I want to go back without getting in a little better shape.

Awesome Experience.

By Stephen S |

Awesome visit to this historic amphitheatre. It is free to visit and you can walk the amphitheatre and visit the museum. Glad we stopped on our way through

Worlds best outdoor music venue

By Melinda D |

Road trip from NJ to visit ball parks and national parks- of course we HAD to see a concert at the magnificent one of a kind possibly best out door venue for music. AND what better way to showcase the majesty and the rock in the mountains and the rock on the stage but to listen to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard- just Wowowowowow
Honestly- it could have been any live band- it’s a MUST to be in the audience and listen to a concert- we lucked out with the band.

Beautiful scenery! Worth a trip

By Brittany D |

GORGEOUS! Recommend visiting here in the morning (closes in afternoon for events) or attending concert here. Very beautiful scenery. Will see many locals exercising there and climbing steps. FYI If you are in Denver, you will will need to rent a car or catch shared ride (Uber/Lyft). There is a light rail that takes you part of the way that may help reduce costs.

Chainsmokers

By John H |

What a great place to see The Chainsmokers in concert. The natural amphitheatre made the sound fantastic. Be aware there are a ton of steps to negotiate. Parking was free and loads of it and pretty easy to get away from the venue after. Great place to see your favourite band.

Nature's Creation

By JDSoui |

The views and sounds from Red Rocks are simply amazing. The scenery of Denver from the upper platform is majestic. Additionally, the views of the foothills behind the amphitheater are amazing.

Aside from the scenery and sound, the on-site museum is expansive. The museum documents groups musicians and groups who have played at Red Rocks year-by-year.

Overall a fabulous experience.

Red Rocks and Trading post trail=impressive

By Lovin’Retirement 2025 |

This was an impressive venue and structurally creative venue. No concert was happening, so we wandered and admired both the amphitheater and found our way to the Trading Post trail.

For those not accustomed to the altitude, the climb out on the trail can be challenging, but slowing the pace and enjoying spectacular rock formations while the heart rate comes down was impressive. A variety of ages and their furry companions enjoyed the views and the hike.

LOVED IT!

By justuskats |

We loved our concert in one of the most breathtaking settings to experience live music. The only setback was not previously learning to arrive in enough time to snag a "GA" seat while we could in a wonky selection of rows. Being from out-of-state was to our detriment in that regard. Expect a bit of a hike up from the parking area, a long line waiting to enter, and a certain smell to linger in the air during the concert, too.
We took advantage of the relatively short drive from our Air BNB, walked the grounds and checked out the little museum, and even went on into Morrison for lunch before returning that evening for the show. Enjoyed it all!

Go as early as possible and be prepared to walk uphill

By Christina C |

Great venue for a show and ample room between rows for people to walk by. Assigned seating was tight, but once show started every one was on their feet anyway. Get there as early as possible though, because it will take a long time to walk up the hill and stairs. Even driving in there was a lot of traffic. We didn’t know any of this, so sadly we missed our dinner reservations at Ship Rock Grille but we’re still charged for the reservation. Also missed the sunset too. We found out later there was a shuttle to the top, from the lower parking, but no signage and no info on website that I could find anyway. We would definitely go again, knowing what we know now.

Amazing!

By asweet81 |

really worth the trip- If there are no concerts you can get in to see the place. We did not get to because of a show scheduled. But they have a museum and grounds and it is really quite spectacular. Would Loved to have seen a concert there. Go see this place!

Amazing

By GirlSGM |

I was visiting my Daughter in Colorado Springs and asked her to take me there. I've been there before and wanted my Daughter to see it too. The whole area is absolutely gorgeous. There was a lot of people exercising there by climbing all the steps.
It would be smart to wear athletic shoes because it is a lot of walking.
Visit the Trading Post there as well, lots of fun stuff.

Red Rocks - no mask mandate

By Ruth P |

I have been to the Red Rocks many times and it is always awesome. This time was no different EXCEPT most of the hikers did NOT wear masks. They had them around their necks, in their hands, on their wrist but not on. I will say more than 90% did not have masks and 90% of them were under 30 years old. So if you have any concern, you may want to wait to visit Red Rocks until after COVID.

Worried about Altitude Anxiety? It will be ok!

By L_Lott19 |

For those who may be worried and having anxiety about the altitude like I was, it will be okay. We flew into Denver the day before the concert. I drank a lot of water that night and during the day leading up to the concert. You do feel the altitude, but it's manageable. You aren't going to pass out, or anything like that. I just felt a little out of breath, but nothing crazy. I'm not someone who works out every day, I walk the dogs everyday, that's about the extent of my workouts.
I had read previous reviews to get there early and park in the Upper North Lot. So that's what we did. The only down side is we were there so damn early, and as we had traveled, didn't have our usual tailgaiting amenities. If we had chairs, it would have been perfect. We stopped at Walmart on the way to grab some snacks and drinks and a disposable cooler.
I'm not a big drinker, but they say the alcohol will hit you harder. I had two beers and was fine.
The North Lot had actual bathrooms as well as port-a-potties. Going to the bathroom was not a problem at all.
There was a wonderful park ranger on site who was great at explaining where you should enter based on your seating. Very friendly and comforting, as I was nervous about the altitude.
We walked in the trail way and were treated to some great views and the lined backed up, so it was nice and slow. People were all chill and friendly.
Once we got into the amphitheater we were able to fill our water bottles at the water station near the concessions.
Our seats were closer to the stage, near the bottom, and we found them quickly. It's wooden seats/rows and you sit pretty close with your neighbor, but it's comfortable. There is a ton of room in front of you to dance/move.
The concert itself? It's like being in a dream. It's magical. I kept turning around and taking it all in. It was by far the best venue I've ever been to.
The walk back to the parking lot was a little more uphill, but so many people are stopping and taking their time, you don't feel like a dork if you need to take a break. Everyone is honestly on the same page. Most of the folks we met were from out of state and, like us, checking off a bucket list item.
The only real negative is the lack of information when you first get there. It's unclear where you are supposed to park for a show. There are other lots, and apparently shuttles, but we had no idea where those were. I'm sure if we did some investigating we could have figured it out, but thankfully got a spot in the Upper North Lot, which was far less walking than the other lots.
If you're on the fence about going, do it. It's truly an incredible place. I'm glad I was able to move past my anxiety and make the trip! You won't regret it!

Get your music history on and get over here!

By Grace |

Excellent historical venue for a concert, AND to explore while getting some steps in. This is apparently a hot spot for a great work out! The museum did not disappoint. Get your Rock music history on and get over here!

A must see!

By Happy Traveler |

There’s not much more I can say that’s already been said.

Everyone needs to visit this place for a concert!

You can make a whole day of this. If you’re checking out a concert, I recommend actually going in the morning to scout the parking out, visit the museum and shop, and see what you’re up against to get to your seats. There’s also some amazing hiking points to do - which is why I suggest going earlier, because come concert time, you cannot do it.

From where you park to the top, it’s quite a haul. I’m not sure if you need to be VIP to park at the top, but I recommend entrance three to park, as it’s close than entrance two to the venue. (Not sure about entrance one)

We caught a shuttle to the top from parking - very lucky for that- because without it, WHEW!! It’s a walk!

Even to get to your seats, work those muscles- but obviously it’s all worth it - one of the best concert experiences of my life. And getting out was EASY!

There’s really not a bad seat in the house- everyone stood for the concert I was at, but there was plenty of space to dance!

Note that umbrellas and sunscreen spray cans aren’t permitted into the venue! We didn’t know (oops) but left it right outside and picked it up on our way out.

Enjoy the experience! I’d even visit if you don’t have concert tickets- easily can spend a few hours here!

Unsafe. Unprepared. Unprofessional.

By Diana M |

While we were there, hail hit. This is the week after the bad hail storm hit during a concert. There was no alert, no instructions, and when we took cover under an awning outside the first aid area, a security woman (brunette, long ponytail, roughly 5'6") yelled for everyone to go to their cars (roughly half a mile away). A man asked for safety for his very young daughter or 5 or 6 years old (there was a door, that when it opened, had three people inside a decent sized room). She yelled no at him and to get away from the door. He was not asking for his safety, he was asking for HERS. That was a disgusting display of ineptitude. I flew from Florida to being my grown daughter. Never again. No one is safe under their care.

Beautiful

By Rob S |

Awesome location to check out. We just visited and walked around and went to visitor center and trading post as well as the amphitheatre. Don't miss it, hope to go to see a concert here some time.

Bucket List

By charles h |

It is the best concert venue in the USA. You need to add it to your bucket list. Saw Jason Bonham and Gov't Mule. 4th row center seats. I will be back next concert season.

Bucket list Venue

By colditalianpizza |

This is the Mecca of seeing live music. The experience of seeing a show on this sacred site is something you will never forget. The acoustics and the beauty of this place can not be equaled.
The sites are unparalleled to any place you’ve been.
We had accessible seats and from the time we parked we were treated like VIPS.
The shuttle bus ride from our car to the entrance was amazing. The drivers made you feel like family. Our nights there will never be forgotten. We saw Michael Franti and 2 nights of Joe Russo’s Almost dead.
The bathroom lines , concession and merch lines went smoothly .
We had accessible seats and the staff couldn’t have been more sympathetic to our needs. They upgraded us to the front row where we had space, Hard backed seats and accessibility to bathrooms.
The whole staff was great but 3 people went way beyond and to make our tripEPIC!
I would like to give a shout-out to Sue,Cassandra B(J-103) and Tycho W (J-132 ). These employees are an asset to your team.

Red Rocks for a Workout!

By Alilu007 |

Very last minute, we decided to go to Red Rocks in the morning. About a 50 dollar uber ride from downtown Denver.

On Saturdays, there might be a workout class that is using the space until 9:15am. We unfortunately didn’t know this and showed up around 8:45am, but then did the trading post trail loop instead.

Water fountains are abundant in the visitors center (we saw one upstairs and downstairs), and bathrooms nice and clean inside.

Good for those who would rather sit out as well – lots to see in the visitors center,
Trading post opens at 10am.

Concessions are also open if you need to purchase water.

Great experience

By Kim B |

This is a FREE attraction. I highly recommend before going to the amphitheater checking to see if there are any concerts the day of your visit as the park closes early at 2pm. The drive up is good, you are driving up into the mountains a bit. Parking can be a bit tricky but there are lots of parking areas. They have a visitor center which I highly recommend visiting. A restaurant on site as well.

Trading Post Trail

By Debbi D |

This is a great trail to give you outstanding views of the rocks. It was pretty slippery when we went because of the recent snowfall so you may want to use microspikes or poles. Also, make sure you check out the amphitheater as well. Must be an incredible place to see a concert!

Red rocks: under construction

By Jooleed2 |

Red rocks is always amazing, but make sure you are dressed for the weather. They are doing construction at the top rn so keep in mind bathrooms lines will be longer. This won’t affect the spectacular views or the incredible sound of this world-famous venue! Also, be considerate of your neighbors. We paid for our vip tickets so don’t think you can weasel your way in or force your way in towards the end of the show.

Have you seen bear at Red Rocks Park.

By Nance |

I go to Red Rocks Park often when I visit my daughter in Lakewood. On Monday, I am pretty certain I saw 2 bears walking up one of the diagonal slabbed rocks. I was fairly far but was just about to head that direction on my hike. Has anyone else experienced seeing bear there? I will often hike at sunrise or sunset and may not go alone next time.

Stunning Rock Formations and Excellent Hiking

By TrailTrekker15 |

We hiked a section of Red Rocks Park up to the museum and gift shop. The trail wound through grassy meadows lined with red rock formations. A couple of sections of trail had steps or was steep but it wasn’t bad. We greatly enjoyed the hike and look forward to visiting in the future for a concert!

Beautiful Park ... Don't Miss This!

By swoodruf |

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre was our first stop on a tour we booked. The Amphitheatre is amazing! I had no idea that it was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps back in the 1930s as part of the WPA project. The museum is really cool ... you can see photos of all of the artists that have played at this venue. We saw people getting their exercise walking the rows in the amphitheatre. The park itself is gorgeous. We took a hike around some of the park. The red rock formations are gorgeous.

Amazing place

By JCruz61 |

What an interesting place.
The shape of the rocks forms this open-air theater.
My visit was covered in snow, I was imagining what it would be like in summer and with a super show in this place. It must be simply unforgettable.
It's worth the view and it's free.

A+++++++++++++The best!!!

By Suzejoy |

Red Rocks is the best outdoor venue in the world! Awesome sound. Awesome views. You absolutely have to see a show here. Your night will be magical!

Amazing Views from the Top!

By Victoria N |

I visited for the first time recently from the UK. The views from the top of the amphitheater were amazing! It was not an easy climb to the top in the heat. There was plenty of parking when we visited. There is a visitor's center with a few gifts and exhibits. My sister and I did not realise that a concert would be taking place so we only had 15 minutes to reach the top, however we thankfully we managed it! There are some great views of Denver from the top.

always have a great time

By John P |

If you reviewed less than 5 you're dull and you are less than 5 stars. By far one of the best venues

The most perfect venue!

By Kimberly S |

Saw my favorite band ,the Goo Goo Dolls at red rocks ! Words can’t describe how amazing the show and venue were!! A must see and the area itself is just absolutely breathtaking!

A must see on any trip to the area. One of the highlights of our trip.

By DissociatedMaven |

An amazing venue and park. I visited this on a Wednesday evening to see a standup comedian. Amazing to experience this place as a venue. I imagine it would be even more magical seeing a musical performance there. Sight lines are great. There’s not a bad seat in the place! One word of caution is that much of the parking is a considerable hike uphill to the amphitheater. So plan ahead.
Next day I visited the park with my family. Just walked around looking at the amazing rock formations and spectacular views. My kids loved it. Lots of hills, stairs and walking. A cute gift shop, and no shortage of things to photograph.
Even when there is not an event going on, plenty of people walking around and/or using the stairs for exercise.
Everyone was quite amused by one dude with seemingly endless energy running up and down the stairs wearing only his boxer briefs.
Fun for all.

Beautiful out door theater

By juliebfromindy |

We drove our car to the handicapped parking at the very top. We were able to park very close to the theater top. The view was spectacular. Many people come here to walk the steps and exercise. People watching was fun. Parking was free but be mindful if there is an event they close the access early afternoon so go in the morning. There is a very small museum about the amphitheater and its construction that is nice, visit it!!

DON'T MISS THIS!

By RMc179 |

This was on my to-do list for our recent trip to the Denver area, but due to an unforeseen problem we had to miss the scheduled day. However, we found another day at end of our trip and thank goodness we did - Red Rocks is stunning. Many of my generation probably know about Red Rocks because of the legendary concerts there, but there is so much more to know than the amazing music. The history of the geography and construction is fascinating. The best part of all this? The park entrance and the rock and roll museum component are FREE. Aside from the pop culture, the area itself is stunning and you will get majestic photographs. I am so excited to say I have been at Red Rocks.

Disappointed and not the same

By Debbie W |

I have been going to red rocks my whole life. Best place on earth. Things have changed recently. Joy of arriving early to see sun set. Have a picnic or drink with friends. Gates used to open early for General admissions and assigned seats. They didn’t allow us in till 7 pm. Walked 1/2 mile up hill. No seats available once inside. The joy is not there anymore. It appears to me the oversold seats. Ridiculous to not open gates earlier. Sad. Leaving was a nightmare. This was Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. Music was amazing but I couldn’t see. Other concerts are not ran this way. Why?

Amazing setting for a concert

By CindyJV |

We weren’t sure if we were going to bother to stop here, and it would have been such a mistake if we had skipped it! The amphitheater is in such a beautiful setting. There are tons of stairs, but it’s well worth it to walk around and see the place from different vantage points. The museum had a lot of interesting photos and facts. It was hard to tear my husband away from the place! I just wish we could have seen a show there.

Nice hike outside of Denver

By lmstrad83 |

Winter days are bad for concerts but great for hiking at Red Rock Amphitheatere. We really enjoyed the small museum they had of all the great shows they had over the years. The trails are well defined and are easy or you can head over to the steps for a harder workout. Nice morning adventure.

Morrison

Such an amazing site to see. The amphitheater is amazing in person, the surrounding trails and scenery as well. It was a beautiful day in Morrison.

A Place to See Even If There Is No Concert

By NYC Edge |

On a recent trip to the Denver area, a few friends ventured over to Red Rocks to check it out.
First tip, we took a car service and it was the driver who recommended we be dropped off at the top entrance. This was a great tip since the walk up from the bottom entrance was a steep climb.
Second, even though you are at the top, there are still some inclines and stairs to navigate. It isn't intense, but its not that easy either. Remember, you are in a higher altitude then our probably used to. I'm just preparing you. Take your time.
The walkways are on the narrow side, so when people want to pass you, let's all just be polite.
The theater area was under renovations when we were there but you can still appreciate the acoustics. This place is well worth a visit and a walk around. It won't take you more than hour to so.
Next time, I would definitely like to see a concert here.

Beautiful views and great acoustics

By John J |

Beautiful Amphitheatre with great acoustics. We were there for Blue October and the Goo Goo Dolls. There is not a bad seat in the house. Unfortunately, the Goo Goo Dolls are one of those studio groups that sounds very different live and frankly not as good as they do on media. We had a great time, but the lines for food and drink were ridiculously long all night. Parking is well done but getting out after the show is another matter! Get a reserved seat and eat prior!

MORE THAN A MUSIC VENUE!!!

By redundantecho |

Red Rocks
If you have heard Coloradans brag about this place, believe every word! I was in awe. We had just gone through the Arches National Park and I would compare it to RR, with each having its own personal beauty. The natural amphitheater is a work of art, built by erosion, monolithic rock, and man. Unfortunately, there was no music that day, so I definitely need to return for a concert. There are 2 small museums, one with plaques with the many seasons of its performers. I felt a tinge of envy. imaging Bono climbing the flag pole in ‘86. There were 2 gift shops, selling anything from postcards to expensive posters. There was no entry or parking fees since we were there on a non-event day. I’m not sure about fees on event days, but I would venture to guess, exiting is probably a problem.

Stunning

We always said when we get to visit Denver, our first point of business was to experience a live concert at Red Rocks, we tried to come in October 2022 to see Phantogram & Young the Giant live but didn't make it
We instead came March of 2023 and learned concerts typically occur during the summer/early fall but decided to go anyways to admire the 1941 venue that sits 6,450 feet above sea level, with natural rock formations and it's walls that contain records dating back to the Jurassic period 160 million years ago with discovered dinosaur tracks and fossil fragments of 40' Plesiosaur
In 2015, Colorado Music Hall of Fame opened its doors at the Trading Post
Entrance is always free when there isn't a concert
Beautiful drive on the way there and on the way in
Easy and convenient parking
Some construction was going on but there were still paths to get inside the open air amphitheater
Lovely walk to/from with stunning views (wear sunscreen/travel with water at all times/wear proper footwear w/socks)
A lot of people and many with their cute pets admiring the space, some taking photos of all the scenic views or Amphitheatre itself, others exercising or taking walks/hikes on the trails, plenty siting and taking in all the historic beauty

We loved it and can't wait to return and experience a live show. I assume you'll need a butt pillow of some kind for those hard wooden seats for a 2-4 hour show with zero back support. We shall see ;)

Unique, stunning concert experience - rideshare advice/planning

By halewa6 |

This one has been on my bucket list as long as I can remember. The concert was stunning, the venue was stunning, we even got a treat of the Super Blue Moon rising as one of the groups, Milky Chance, got on stage. Truly a wonderful experience. I wish the Merch tables/vendors stayed open later, as by the time I left- only 20ish minutes into the headliners' set- they were all closed or closing down. My only advice for concert-goers: I was travelling solo and did not have access to my own transportation. I used rideshare to get to the event with little issue. They obviously do some traffic control and limit access to the roadways as they fill up but they do have some shuttles that will bring you up to the top entrance. I suggest arriving EARLY. Since I also needed to rely on rideshare to get home, I left the concert early and headed down to the South Lot rideshare pick up area as directed. My first drive cancelled after I waited 19 minutes, and I was set to wait another 19 minutes for the next to come from downtown Denver. I was approached by a driver who informed me that this is common because the Red Rocks Amphitheatre is in a remote area, and I would be lucky to get a Lyft to come here for less than $100-$150, so they will keep cancelling until the concert was out and the prices were up (they were currently at less than $40, hence why the drivers would cancel- not worth it to come all the way from the city for them- understandable). So just a heads up/pre plan if you are planning to use rideshare, leave early if you can, and expect to pay $100-$150; or if you check their credentials, drivers will offer off-app rides for cheap cash if you feel safe to do so. Besides the rideshare logistics, my visit was wonderful and I will definitely be back- hopefully with friends and a car!

Excellent Red Rock formation

By Reign68 |

Even with pandemic it’s open to the public to enjoyed the Red Rock formation and amphitheater. The parking was accessible as well the entrance. Love the scenery when driving. Lots of hikers and suited for family for walking activities.

Best place under the stars to see your favorite Stars!

By CEG43 |

We planned this trip many months ago, to see Lynyrd Skynyrd with friends. The venue was beautiful and an unbelievable place to see a concert. There is plenty of parking and we chose the top southern lot which made our escape after the concert very easy.
The steps to get to your seats are pretty steep and may be a challenge to guests with issues. Overall it’s probably the best place under the stars to see your favorite show.

Beautiful Views

By Julia J |

This place is beautiful! We hiked through the park and walked through the amphitheater. The weather was nice so we had views as far as the eye can see. The air is thin so be prepared to go at your own pace.

Beautiful location for a summer concert

By msa23_2000 |

Came here for a concert for someone I had never heard of because I heard the venue was amazing. It did not disappoint. The venue is stunning. The sun set and the clouds turned red to add to the ambiance. The seating is bench seating but people stood most of the time. Plenty of space between rows to be comfortable. Not a lot of food options, mostly standard fair food. Two quibbles, no ushers to help you find your seat and people do wander to the good seats and try to squeeze in. Almost witnessed a fight a few rows over because of this. And this venue is nonsmoking but there was lots of people smoking.

Breathtaking

The most beautiful sites I’ve ever seen! It is breathtaking! The concert was amazing! The walk up is a killer lol but once you get there OMG!

Poor concert experience

By Kinkell |

We attended a concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on our last night in Denver before flying back to the UK. Whenever a concert is on, the park closes at lunchtimes, so to see the amphitheatre , we decided to go to a concert. To start with, it was buzzing and exciting, but the first support act was 25 mins late. Then there was a 40 minute wait after he had finished before the second support act came on. Folk were getting restless. As soon as he eventually appeared, folk stood up all around, so we couldn’t see anything— screens or stage. Even when standing it was not easy to see. So disappointing, particularly when RR publish advice and rules that specifically state not to stand and block the view of people behind. If a show states it starts at a certain time, then I expect that to happen within a few minutes ( not 25!) The wait, the obscured view , we left. So unfair and disrespectful to treat visitors and fans this way.
RR management need to sharpen up.

Gorgeous

By CrystalEats |

We went late afternoon and I mention this because the sun hitting the rocks as the sun started it’s descent was spectacular. Absolutely gorgeous hiking and despite the obvious efforts involved in hiking, there are some super easy trails and stairs to the amphitheater.

Red Rocks: Walk!

By Jay Black |

Spectacular yet serene views. Peaceful somehow, even with people running, walking, doing complex fitness routines, and power washing the seats in preparation for the night’s Blues Traveler concert.

Clear View 2020

By gheartgemini |

Amazing views you won’t be disappointed! You can see downtown Denver from Red Rock. The climb up the stairs is a little exhausting at that elevation but well worth the trip!

Absolutely beautiful place

By OkieJS |

I took the fam up on a day trip. I haven’t been here in about 25 years. The place still looks amazing. There are some improvements to the areas that help with accessibility. It is incredibly well kept.

Nature is awesome!

By James & Beth |

The rock formations are outstanding. The fact that the theater is manmade is incredible. You can only go see the theatre in the morning. They close it up for sound checks so plan. The museum is a great accounting of who has played there that scrolls the wall. There are plenty of steps to get up there. Be prepared. The scenery is amazing.

Spacing out parking can be better.

By Rob M |

Always a great time. Be sure to wear shoes, because one will hike a bit just to get in. Parking was so tight it took 30 minutes to inch in and out to leave. They need to do a better job spacing this out or you'll have to wait until others around you leave. Once in, venue it amazing. A hot dog, pizza, popcorn, soda and water cost over $30.

Not just for concerts

By Tiffany A |

This is an amazing park and series of hiking trails and rock formations that happens to have a concert venue so skillfully built into it.

We visited just to see the rocks, views, minor hiking, and venue at a time when there was no show. It was a really hot day but the visit was absolutely worthwhile in each respect.

The little road leading to the geological marker gave me serious vertigo. Worthwhile view though. I chose to walk down the path and meet my husband at the bottom. That was probably my favorite part, waking that trail because I saw so many interesting wild CO mountain plants along that little trail.

1-2 hour Day Trip At Most

By Karpookie |

Beautiful absolutely BUT I’d suggest skipping and just visiting Garden of the Gods. Much more there to do.

RR- took us about 1 hour tops. Nice music exhibit.

Personally I’d rather attend a concert there.

Parking wasn’t bad- drove right up to main lot and parked on the side of the road in front of venue. Has an elevator.

A Must See for any visitor to this area.

By GMan3909 |

Great place to visit, but like most beautiful parks, very crowded. We tried to hike the Geology Trail, but parking lot was full and no where to park.

Disrespectful Employee

By Angela C |

My 17 year old son and several of his friends got to the concert at 5:30 to get good GA seats to the show. Around 7:30pm several other spectators including older adults filled in watching the show on the same row even though there were no spaces. My son went to the restroom and when he returned to sit with his friends the employee grabbed him yanking his arm and told him he had to leave the venue. She told him there were no seats for him even though his friends were saving his seat while he went to the bathroom. He was not being disrespectful to the employee during this time. He also, said he would be glad to go up and find a different seat and the employee forcefully made him exit the concert. He paid $120 to see the show and missed the final show. He is underage and was forced to sit outside of the concert with no ride home until his friends came out after the show. I am very disappointed as we go to many Red Rocks shows every year and no adult should be forcefully grabbing a respectful minor.

Beautiful

By Tanya B |

Since we were visiting Golden we decided to stop by here, I had been years ago but my spouse had never been. Was just as splendid today as then. Plan to walk a lot and use stairs, go to the visitor center entrance for the easiest access. We went in the north entrance which after a long beautiful walk brings you into the lowest level, so we made it up gradually to the top which was well worth it! The visitor center was worth checking out as well, they have water fountains and nice rest rooms in the visitor center. I have not visited the venue for a concert though…

Beautiful Sight

By STLLUV2TRAV |

It’s so cool that you can visit the amphitheater when a show isn’t on. It’s such a cool venue. We enjoyed walking around & taking photos from different vantage points.

Later we went to the trading post and hiked around a bit. We could hear some music coming from the venue. It was sooo beautiful & unreal. I’m so glad we visited!

Unforgettable

By Wayne M |

I had always wanted to attend a show at Red Rocks and it didn’t let me down. I saw The Avett Brothers and they were fantastic. But the venue is just as good. Just a stunning location. Something I will never forget.

Free 1-2 Hour Entertainment for Kids

By UhlesK |

Our family needed something to do for an hour or two before heading to the mountains from Denver, so we stopped here on a Sunday morning as it is on the west side of Denver. It was pretty hot, but we all still had a pretty good time walking up and down the steps, watching people work out (some crazy, intense stuff going on), seeing the impressive rock formations, the stage, and the Visitors Center with the lists of entertainers who have performed there. If you just want to see the amphitheatre, there is a lot pretty close to the ramp up on one side as well as another lot on the other side; don't park at the first lot you see. I'd keep driving toward the amphitheatre to park closer. Parking and visiting was free as well.

Love Red Rocks

By Krista Y |

Love Red Rocks! Finally got to come for our first concert here. It was great. Come early for good parking and tailgating. Lots of stairs to go for drinks or bathroom! Walk around and enjoy the views!

Incredible Experience!

By VacaDad1915 |

Bucket list venue for sure! I saw a concert there and it was amazing. Wear comfy shoes and Google things you can bring in and rules. Very Cool!

We almost died, but that would’ve been okay. “She died doing what she loves!” (Live music, not climbing stairs)

By clickheelsngo |

I just returned from my first experience at red rocks. I don’t know how I made it this far in life without going. Talk about an amazing concert experience! All of the staff and fellow concert goers were so awesome. Of course, the venue is gorgeous! It seems like there is not a bad seat in the place. The music sounds great no matter where you are. I love how much legroom there is and that people can walk past without me having to curl into a ball or stand up so they can pass.
However, I must say that wussies need not apply. The hike from the parking lot to entrance was an incline that doesn’t exist in Kansas. Just when we thought we had made it to the entrance we realize the ascending staircase. We go through security and get our tickets scanned and think we are home free but then there’s more stairs. Hundreds of them! At a 6000 foot elevation. It was totally worth it and I’ll go back in a heartbeat! Y’all need to feel my calf muscles. They are rock hard now!

Also, I don’t recommend Uber or Lyft because neither would pick us up after the show. We were stranded and had to pay a random dude a handsome sum to take us to our hotel. He didn’t murder us. Yay!

#1 attraction in the greater Denver area

By MyTravelTales |

If you are in the Denver area and have time to do one thing, this is it. The location and the setting are stunning - I have never seen a stage quite like this. Kudos to the designer of this amphitheater.
We parked at the top of the hill - near the visitor center, and walked into the theater from the top. The view is amazing from here. The pedigree of the place along with the view gives one goosebumps.
Then we walked down the steps to near the stage. Prep was going on for a show in the evening. We walked on both sides of the theater, and were presented with amazing sights.
We also did part of the Trading Post trail, and while there are some impressive sights, they were nothing compared to Garden of the Gods or many other places in the area. Unless you are a trail enthusiast, I would recommend skipping the trails. Also the altitude along with the walks up and down makes one tired easily.
There are also a few exhibits here that are worth spending some time at.
Main complaint: Lack of a user-friendly visitor center. We had hoped to get info on the place and stuff to do from here, but all they do is sell stuff.

We weren't sure which car park to park in but I don't think that matters

By Jo B |

There were a few steps up to the top but it was worth it when we got there. We could only imagine how incredible it would be to attend a concert here. The visitor center was unexpected - so much history and amazing performances have taken place here.

Beautiful venue- RUDE fans

By clatkins61 |

The venue is amazing- the concert ( Eric Church) was great! The fans in the venue were the rudest most inconsiderate people I’ve ever encountered at a concert. We had GM seating and no one would squeeze together to make room for the hundreds of people that were standing up. They had blankets and towels and were taking up space that was unnecessary! The staff at red rocks would walk in the aisles and ask people to move in closer and no one would . The staff even made comments that these were the rudest people! If I gave any advice to anyone planning to attend this venue - get in line and go in as early as possible and be polite and only use the space needed for you to sit down.

Scenic Wonder

By slhokie |

This amphitheater is in a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the people watching including a trainer leading a woman in leaping up and down the steps. The hall of fame is impressive in showing all of the groups who have performed at the site. Note that the road into the facility is such that i would expect a long exit time from a performance.

WOW RED ROCK PARK AND AMPHITHEATRE amazing

By suee940 |

Our son drove us to the Red Rock area. Amazing. The colour of the rock the Amphitheatre was unreal. Best view from each seat. Only thing there was not a concert on the day we were there. So pretty and amazing. Loved it

Breathtaking.

By Heidi L |

Red Rocks Amphitheatre was an experience that encompassed years of anticipation. We witnessed three nights of amazing music, camaraderie, joy and overall euphoria. The venue inspired natures creation transformed into a once in a lifetime collection of memories. We witnessed sparkling stars, a full moon and city lights in the distance. The initial climb posed some challenges, but once inside the venue, it was breathtaking beyond words. Highly recommend.

Spectacular

By FlamboShambo |

Visited Red Rock Amphitheater while visiting Denver.
Breathtaking views of the Denver area. It’s a geologist’s haven!
It would have been fantastic to have experienced a live concert at this unique and natural theatre. Maybe next time!!
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

No feminine higene products in bathrooms and when asked an employee he just shrugged it of and said no big deal.

No feminine higene products available for women in restrooms. No pads or tampons to purchase. When asked for products staff shrugged and said not my problem.

One of the Best Concert Venues in the U.S.

By Bill L |

One of the best concert venues in the United States so you must put attending a concert here on your bucket list. You are sounded by beautiful rock formations and to the East you can see downtown Denver as well. But be prepared for rapid weather changes since you are at a 6,000 foot elevation.

Sunrise magic to music magic

By Stevie P |

On the day of our concert, we woke up early because we heard that this was an amazing place to see the sunrise and all those recommendations were completely spot on. It is magnificent and we didn't even do a hike around. Later that evening after a little rain, My friend and I got to experience The Chicks concerts that had more soul than a typical music venue. We are already planning the next time we can fall under the magical spell of these Red Rocks.

#YOTR!

By thekookykorinn |

this theater is absolutely beautiful! We did yoga on the rocks early this morning and i have to say, it’s one of the most beautiful places to be as soon as you wake up!

Wow!

By CountryDude3 |

If you are in Denver, Morrison is a must stop town to experience Red Rock! We parked at the Trading Post and hiked the easy trail loop (about a mile). From there we walked up to the amphitheater (steep walk). Amphitheater is spectacular - so fun to see it used for recreation (yoga, training). Would love to return for a concert event. Last minute we decided to have lunch at Shrimp Grill (see separate review). It didn’t disappoint- menu selections were so tasty. Great way to spend the morning into lunch!

So Impressive

By Bill K |

We attended a concert at the amphitheatre. I came away so very impressed by our experience. The group that runs this facility is super efficient.Parking (both entering and leaving), concert entry, food/drink, and general logistics all run so smoothly. I don't think I have ever had such an enjoyable concert experience.

The setting is gorgeous. The rocks, the stage construction, seating, and views of the metro area all make for visuals that can't be equalled in most concert venues.

Do not miss the opportunity to see this facility whether it is for a concert or just a tour.

a Must See

By Bob L |

I think this could be one of the wonders of the world. A huge amphitheatre carved out of rocks. And in a beautiful setting!

Everyone should go here one time just to see it. Even better if you can attend a concert or show!

Being there is like trying to describe Pike's Peak or the Grand Canyon. Just awe-inspiring. And so cool, weather wise. As someone accustomed to high humidity the dry air was great, even when it was in the high 90's!

Unbelievable!

By Anita S |

This is a sight to see! We had tickets for the Brandi Carlile concert on Sept 10th. Went earlier in the day to check out the amphitheatre before the throngs of people arrived. So glad we did. Very cool to walk around and experience it during the day and then again during the concert. Sound was amazing! Best venue ever. No complaints other than waiting to get out of the parking lot after the cincert. But it was expected and after the high of the cocert it was titally ok. If you have mobility issues however it could be challenge to get around and you will miss out if you cant explore. There are a lot of stairs!

Red rocks

By Jesse K |

It’s not just the amphitheater there’s quite a few trails to hike the rock features are great also. the museum/gift shop with public restrooms is nice. Plan to get there early if there’s a concert or some sort of gathering they don’t let you go into the amphitheater after 1 o’clock 130 when there’s something scheduled.

Check it off the bucket list

By justuskats |

I've never been to a more beautiful outdoor music venue, was totally overwhelmed at its beauty! Figure out the "general admission" seating before arriving. The walk up to the amphitheater, the loooong line to get in the door, and the seating arrangement were foreign to us from being out of state.

red rocks park

By Jonathan C. |

An absolutely gorgeous place to hike and explore! The red rocks are beautiful, and the amphitheatre offers such great views - I wish there was a concert or show playing when I came to visit! Very comfortable visitor center and facilities.

Beautiful venue and park.

By Imyourtallcool1 |

We saw a concert at the amphitheater in August 2024. Loved the experience. We went back the next day just to drive around and observe the rock formations and there was a band playing a sound check that afternoon so we were serenaded as we hiked around the park. Pretty cool.

Do Not Visit Red Rocks on Concert Days

By PackUpNGoNow |

We recently visited the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre. What little we saw at the theatre entrance and surrounding area was beautiful and awe inspiring.

Unfortunately, we visited on a Friday afternoon and being it was a concert night, the visitor center, the on-site restaurant and the theatre area were closed as the crew prepared for the concert (concert goers were already tailgating in the parking lot at 3 p.m.). We heard the sound system being tested and wow, a concert here must be incredible.

My husband was comfortable driving up to the amphitheatre but I, as the passenger, found this ride to be a small adventure :o). Although the trip up to Red Rocks is not a long drive, I did not expect a narrow winding two lane road (one lane going up and one lane going down) that did not have a shoulder (do not look down if heights scare you), did not have guard rails along parts of the drive (again - do not look down) and had no road signs warning of drops and sharp turns (you do not see them until you get to the turn or drop). Also, I could not imagine driving at night after a concert with no street lights and no reflectors on the few guardrails. We were told later that this was considered a very easy mountain road drive :o(

TIP TO AVOID THE WINDING MOUNTAIN ROAD: We later received advice on how to avoid the winding mountain road. If you are physically fit and ready for a good workout, park in the large parking lot (free) at the Trading Post when you turn off Alameda Parkway. There is a wide staircase from the Trading Post parking lot to the theatre - it will be a long hike up to the theatre. Bring water and sunscreen.

TOURISM TIP: Couple your visit to Red Rocks with a stop at Dinosaur Ridge that is located right off Alameda Parkway at the turn going towards Red Rocks.

Finally here

By BrakiWorldTraveler |

I watched so many concerts (online and TV unfortunately) held here, so I was eager to visit this place. It happened finally on the last day of our 15 days mid west tour.
What an amazing and spectacular place. First of all, everything is free to visit - from parking, over the indoor museum and finally the iconic concert area. On the day we visited they were preparing for the concert that night so we had to leave by 2 PM, but it was quite enough time to see all. Wish I attend a concert some day here.
Great views of Denver in a distance.

Very Bad People Work At Red Rocks Ampitheater

By Davi Reland |

Just Horrible! No mention anywhere that they decided to eliminate access for people in wheel chairs. We checked the web site for the museum, the park, and the theater before we went, nothing there. No signs in the parking lot. After unloading and trying to figure it out, we found some people who were not helpful and not apologetic.

Worth watching the sunrise.

By Walter T |

Spend the Lyft money and get up early to get there half hour before before sunrise. Go to the top of the amphitheater and bring your camera and maybe a tripod for time lapse photos. Walk down the funicular trail and turn right to the Trading Post. Go to the right to get on the Trading Post trail. Have water and good shoes since it is dusty and steep in areas. Enjoy the spectacular rock formations. It is 1.4 miles but takes longer than you think. Take Lyft or Uber back. Memorable!

Great place.

By Boyer |

Very nice with a breathtaking landscape!
Small “free” museum, to learn things about this magnificent place!
To do !

God’s beautiful art

I enjoyed myself tour of the red rock amphitheater. It is where the famous Beatles performed the first concert in America.

Red Rocks!

By Wanderer28483661250 |

Went with my wife while we were in Denver for our Anniversary Weekend. Breathtaking views!!!!!! We spent about 3 hours on site, looking around, going on a trail, and of course having lunch at the cafe. The homemade ice cream was the best we have ever had!!! Must visit for any trip to Denver!

It's worth the climb!

By Carolina Scofano |

When I went I wasn't very full, so I was able to park near the stairs for the climb. Many people left the car in the first parking lots and the walk was long. It'll be a lot of stairs, but it'll be worth it. Lovely place! And if you're lucky, I've had, you're gonna get a sound test out there at the Amphitheatre and it'll be unavoidable. You don't pay to get into the park.

Beautiful nature, architecture, and design.

By shopcoffee |

Stunning! The weather was windy and freezing when I visited, but as soon as I saw the Amphitheater I completely forgot the cold weather. I hope that I can be able to watch an orchestra play there one day! I was impressed with its beautiful nature, architecture, and design.

Hozier at Red Rocks

By Deborah O |

This place was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. The night that we were there we saw Hozier. The sound was excellent and the view was unforgettable!! It was a lovely evening for a concert especially in November. There was a light breeze and I think in the 60s. Bring something to sit on. We did and were able to enjoy the entire concert!!

Incredible concert venue!

By nickelcitygirl |

Attending a concert at Red Rocks was on our bucket list, and we are so glad we made it there! What an amazing venue. It’s just such a special spot, where so many iconic musicians have performed. Because it’s an outdoor venue, be prepared for the weather! It had been snowing earlier in the day and was chilly the night we were there. We brought lots of layers and wore them all by the end of the night. The previous night’s concert was cancelled because of high winds, which I don’t think happens very often. Thank goodness our night wasn’t cancelled!
The Ship Rock Grille wasn’t open when we visited, but there were lots of vendors for drinks and food, everything from gyros and BBQ to pizza and tacos. And be sure to find time to visit the Red Rocks Hall of Fame in the Visitor Centre. It was so cool to walk through there. The Red Rocks website had a lot of great info for helping us plan our visit.

Great!

By Brian D |

We visited Red Rocks on our last trip to Denver and we loved it. Plenty of good hiking trails to explore on. If you are feeling fit run the stairs a couple of times. It was a lot of fun.

We had a very good meal on the patio in an awesome setting

By FredS2008 |

An iconic music venue with a tremendous history. I did not realize RR was a park so was pleasantly surprised with all of the entertainment options highlighting the many bands. Fun for people watching. And the food was very good. We enjoyed our lunch on the patio.

Well maintained and beautiful

By PAULA J |

If you hike the Trading Post Trail (which I highly recommend) but your balance isn't that great (like mine), I suggest starting to the left of the restrooms near the Museum and doing this in a clockwise loop. It's a little over a mile hike and going clockwise means that you will be hiking up the stairs towards the end of the hike. I'm not too bad going up, and the steps aren't that bad really, but for me, it was much more comfortable going clockwise. I actually turned around when I realized that counterclockwise was pretty steep going down. Note: I'm 66 and not in bad shape, but hate when there are people behind me and I need to take my time.
The restrooms near the Music Museum were clean and had a place to fill my water bottle. I went on a Friday afternoon and was lucky there was not any smoke from the fires obscuring the magnificent views. I wanted to see the amphitheater first and that requires quite a bit of uphill steps but it was totally worth it. Lots of handrails and it wasn't too crowded.

Place you must see

By Derek D |

I went in the morning on a Friday, got there at around noon. There was plenty of parking and it is well with the trip to see it. But warning make sure you know if they are having a concert, they close the amphitheater down and you would not be able to really get a great view.

Scenic Venue For Events

By Tuxtails |

Wow! I would love to attend a concert here, it is beautiful! Came to check it out and glad I did, it is really pretty with the red rocks surrounding the stage. I hear the acoustics are awesome.

When can we hear some music here?

By drmader |

Wow ..wonderful , breathtaking, restrooms, drinks...and views for miles..must seem if you are in the boulder area.. it’s only about a 30 mile drive.. gorgeous fall day and full of people but parking not too bad, drive through Golden on way up and Morrison( darling cowboy town) on wya down. Several trails
To try. We brought our lunch and our dog and enjoyed hiking around, eating in the amphitheater and snapping some photos . Must do

Great spot for Sunrise

By 08lj |

Top of the amphitheatre has a nice sunrise view and you can follow it up with a morning walk. We did a loop on the trading post trail. Trails and road were well marked and bathrooms were open even that early. There are many parking lot options that are more convenient to different things, so make sure to know which one you want to go.

Much more than a beautiful amphitheater

By Patt H |

I was expecting to spend an hour driving to spend a few minutes looking at a beautiful amphitheater, but boy…was I wrong! It is a beautiful setting, and they were doing a sound check while we were there, so we got a taste of what a concert might be like (the acoustics were fabulous). But it was so much more…and such a surprise.

There is a free museum that has plaques listing every act that has performed there since the 1940s plus some memorabilia from those acts: posters, signed instruments, and lots of photos. It was such fun to read and recognize many names, including The Beatles (1964–who knew?). The history of the amphitheater was shown in a video and on displays, and I especially liked the dozens of before and after photos illustrating how some spots have changed and some haven’t (early 1900s to recent).

There is a wonderful restaurant where we ate outside in the perfect weather, surrounded by red rocks and amazing views…and the food was scrumptious, too, and not outrageously expensive. I had an arugula, goat cheese, and balsamic glaze salad that was delicious, and my friend had a beet and goat cheese salad that she said was great. Fantastic food and service, but the views made the meal so much more special.

Then we drove up to an outlook point…I think it was designated a “geological marker” where the panoramic view was perfection. The info board there explained the formation of the mountains in a way that was easy to understand.

Finally, on our drive out, we stopped in a small building that had dinosaur relics: photos and real dinosaur tracks. Small, but definitely worth a stop. Also free.

Now for the logistics: There is a large parking lot up near the amphitheater so you don’t have to do a lot of climbing: just up about two flights of stairs. Then after parking in the small lot near the geological marker, we walked up a not-so-steep path to the top. Nothing was wheelchair accessible, but I’m 73 in poor shape with bad knees and had no trouble at all.

In summary, we were glad we had several hours to spend there and time for a leisure lunch. It was a big surprise—and a very pleasant one.

Concert Must Do

By Bill K |

I am not a fan of the term bucket list, but this is a place fans of live musical performances should visit at least once. There are so many wonderful aspects to this venue...the vistas of the Denver metro area and surrounding mountains, the sound quality due to the natural acoustics, the seating spacing that allows for people to go in and out without stepping on you or you needing to get up, and the laid back vibe are all big pluses for Red Rocks.

The walk from some of the parking areas is largely uphill and steep as are the steps if your seats are high up in the amphitheater. There are shuttles and other drivers that will help with the climb from the parking spots. Arriving early helps a great deal.

The combination of striking red rock formations and the outdoor amphitheater makes for an unforgettable experience. Whether you're hiking through the park or catching a concert, the views are amazing.

Great Venue!

By LSBRN |

Great venue, can't wait to go back! We got rained on and when the temperature dipped to the 40's, this SoCal native got too cold to stay and watch the show we traveled to Colorado for. Does this experience make me want to avoid going back? Heck no! Next time I will pack a poncho with my blanket. Do bring a blanket and be prepared to climb lots of step regardless of where you park. The upper lot is closer to the venue so may make it easier for people like me who have mobility issues. There was an over-zealous security guard working the parking lot who would be better suited working at a prison IMO. Definitely see a show at this venue when given the opportunity!

Nice area

By Ryan O |

Nice place to visit and walk around. Tons of people working out so I assume it is a good place to do so. Tons of seating if you just want to go and relax. I assume concerts are amazing there but unfortunately I did not get the chance to attend one. Nice views around the area and tons of parking! Glad we stopped by!

Believe the hype

By Mark G |

This concert venue was a bucket list item for me, and it did not disappoint. My wife and I saw the Avett Brothers on a beautiful Colorado evening. The amphitheatre is gorgeous and the sound is crystal clear. What a view from the seats. Even the climb to reach the place is fantastic.

Getting out after the show wasn't a joy. It's dark and crowded. Be prepared to sit and wait. Embrace the evening, traffic is (worst) part of the experience.

Wow

By Buenos Nachos |

visited at random with kids - wanted to see what all the fuss was about. about as cool an amphitheater as i can imagine. would love to see a show here someday

Breathtaking

By Linda K |

Breathtaking!
On my bucket list, what an experience! It was absolutely incredible! Went with my daughter to see a concert! The view, the show, the people, absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to go back

Don't go to a concert with kids

By P G |

I went to a slightly Stoopid concert at the amphitheatre with my family. We didn't stay too long. They advertised it as a "for all ages" event. The whole place was a open air gas chamber. The smoke from weed and vaping as so thick out eyes were watering and we felt choked. The rule was to smoke away from the seats. The bands kept encouraging the crowds with "light it up Colorado". There were maybe 20 security guards for 7000 people. They were all bored and tired and just watching this while, doing nothing. There were a few messages about smoking rules on the screen once in a while.
There were good laser effects and the venue is visually stunning.
No problem with what people were doing, it's a free country but the ticket marketing is unethical. We wouldn't have gone if they said clearly what to expect.

Pretty cool for a picture

By Rodrigo V |

The small detour from the main highway is worth it to get to know this historic concert venue, the place is beautiful to take a few pictures.

Venue is fine, but parking is a nightmare

By Robert L |

The venue itself, in terms of acoustics, is superb. Getting drinks, food, etc. is similar to any other concert venue - expensive, with lines, but that's the norm. Parking is the biggest problem Red Rocks, and it appears to be getting worse, although this doesn't make a lot of sense because the size of the venue hasn't changed. On April 25, I left Denver at 6 pm for an 8 pm show. The lots were already full, and I had to park a looonnnngggg distance away on the shoulder of one of the entry roads. I'm reasonably fit, so I didn't find the convoluted walk onerous in that respect, but lots of people appeared to find it difficult. And of course finding your way back in the dark is a nightmare.

It's a real shame, because it is such a unique venue with world-class acts. I'm not somebody who is willing to show up at 5 for an 8 pm show and sit around drinking or twiddling my thumbs - I have better things to do. So, until the venue magically builds more parking lots (or reduces the number of ticket sales), I suppose I'll need to adapt somehow. I think in the future I'll just bite the bullet and 1) buy VIP tickets with preferred access, and 2) take a taxi - early.

Now I Understand the Hype!

By Paige R |

My son lived in the Denver around for about nine months a few years ago. He talked relentlessly about Red Rocks and went there quite often. I'm not much of a concert goer, so I just didn't get his fascination. But, I knew I was going to be close to Red Rocks during a recent visit, so I wanted to go just to say that I had been. Now I understand the hype! Absolutely beautiful and apparently there are all kinds of trails to walk. Like most of my Colorado trip, I didn't allow enough time to take in all of nature's beauty. I can only imagine what a concert here is like.

Geology Wonder In Colorado

By Ryan |

Red Rock is a must see if you are visiting Colorado. If you like parks or geology this would be a definite place to visit on your list. The shapes and designs are amazing. The rocks are red and the angles of them are simply amazing. People love to come here to exercise whether it's running, walking or biking. There are so many trails to try all with different levels of difficulty. Even if you just come to admire the red rocks this is a definite must see.

The place where the stage is more important than the show

By Elmar |

What is the point of visiting a show stage when there is no performance at all? What can usually seem quite boring is still a real experience in the imposing natural setting of the Red Rocks Amphitheater. And even if it's not reality, you can still dream of the Eagles standing on stage singing "Take it easy" and "One of these Nights." This place is an American dream.

Recommend!

By Jack |

I just went in April and I had a great time. I was there for sunset and I couldn’t see the Amphitheater because there was a concert. I still was able to take a hike. I recommend walking the trading post trail for the best views!

Zazuu

By Jydeoo |

Some friends took me visiting this park and it was simply amazing. The amphitheatre is carved on a natural niche in the mountains and the audio effects is amazing.

The sights and sounds of this place is a must not miss for Colorado.

Awesome experience, GTLO

By rd35nm |

Saw GTLO, was perfect in every way, lots of steps and walking to get to theater and to even go to the bathroom while in the theater.

A great place to see your fave artist.

By clearing_boxer |

It's of course the most beautiful concert venue I've ever been to. I wish I'd taken more pics of the outside of the actual theatre space on the way in, as it's incredibly striking and of course cannot be captured in the dark on the way out. The camera/screen inside is SO well-done - awesome angles and unique camerawork altogether that I haven't seen elsewhere. Would happily return.

Should see

By Adam J |

Very neat to see. However, there was a concert the evening of the day we went and nobody could go into the amphitheater itself.

Young adults were in awe.

By On the road again |

Subzero temps didn’t hold this family of six back from walking from the bottom of the amphitheater, up to the top and then down into the warm visitor center.

FREE history, exercise and scenic views. A fantastic time had by all

Amazing

By Jenny R |

We were amazed and in awe the entire time! Worth every penny! Everything was perfect, the temperature, humidity, clarity, even a full moon!

Great place to visit, but avoid concert if you hate second hand smoke.

By Vivek S |

The Amphitheater is amazing. Great structure. But as soon as the show starts, smoke is everywhere. There's official No Smoking policy, but it's not enforced. So, if you hate second hand smoke, stay away...go somewhere where it's enforced. Even the artist was smoking on the stage, that's just going to the extreme.

A must ion your visit to Red Rocks Park

By Norah M |

Old structures made in the rocks form this beautiful valley of big rocks and twisted ways, Red Rock Anphitheatre is a must, once you get up the stairs you can test its nice acoustics inspired in greek anphitheatres and take beautiful pictures.

Go see this !

By Sherry B |

Wow! The amphitheater itself is awesome inspiring! The rocks and the views of the feeling of being in such a storied place was phenomenal. Add to that the museum, the hall of fame, the restaurant and the wonderful staff and it all coalesces into a wonderful day trip. If you’re into hiking there are numerous trails and there’s a great statue of John Denver at the trading post. The amphitheater was built by the CCC’s and that but of history is detailed inside the trading post. Fantastic day trip

Bucket List Venue

By Kristin |

This is a bucket list venue!! We are lucky enough to live within an hour away and have enjoyed MANY shows here. Ladies, save your feet and go for comfort! Doesn’t matter where you park plan to get some exercise, either up or down the MANY stairs. It’s worth it though. Take a blanket or pad for your booty, bug spray and water. Buy the tickets!!

Go for the Sunrise, Go for the Hiking

By Toni K |

FANTASTIC park for hiking and see God's beautiful creations! Paths are excellent and there are miles of different trails to choose from! I recommend bringing ear plugs and dressing in layers to protect your ears from the wind and cool air during morning hours. I also highly recommend getting out to the park in time to watch the sunrise! One of the most beautiful, red sunrises I have ever seen! I also recommend checking the website to be sure there isn't an event going on when you want to visit - the concerts/events they have draw thousands of people, and if you want the true nature experience, you don't want to go when there is a large crowd around.

Great concert experience

By Marian K |

Fabulous venue! Best I have ever been to. Saw Tedeschi Trucks Band with Los Lobos and Gabe Dixon band. Amazing evening of music and happy, well behaved patrons! Can't wait to go back tonight to see the film Summer of Soul

The best venue to see a concert - hands down!!!

By MichaelMc777 |

This was the best venue I have ever seen a concert!! The seating was excellent and I do think there was a bad seat. The sound was amazing! The staff were cool and friendly! The general seating sections were the most exceptional.

I have traveled the world and this is my favorite!

Wow

By Pam R |

This is amazing. A fantastic venue for listening to music. We called on the way to the mountains - what a special place. There are a lot of steps to reach amphitheatre, but well worth the racing heart to get there! Workmen were there, extending the seating capacity of the arena and resurfacing the stage area. Snow covered part of the theatre. What a very clever construction and the views with Denver way in the magnificent.
This is well worth a detour - not far from I-70.

outstanding venue

By elrik2016 |

One of the best venues to listen to live music I've ever been to. The sound is tremendous, and the atmosphere quite unique. Every music lover owes it to themselves to come here at least once.

Surprisingly good hiking

By travelrvo |

We hadn't heard much about Red Rocks as a hiking location, but of course knew about it as a music venue. Since we were here during the time of the COVID pandemic, seeing a show wasn't an option but we will still wanted to check it out.

We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the amphitheater and the walk to get to the trail head. The scenery was rugged and the hike was more difficult than we anticipated but was very enjoyable! We did a long hike, but you could certainly shorten it up for an easy hike if you wanted. It had a very desert-like feel.

Red Rocks was bigger than I imagined and was more impressive than I anticipated. I would definitely check it out (even if you aren't seeing a shower). We took an Uber as we were staying in downtown Denver and didn't have a car. That was easily done.

Another beautiful Colorado feature

By Simb |

Whether you visit because there is a concert or not this is a beautiful place. We visited in summer, during pandemic. There were a lot of people but not crowded.

The place is amazing ! Staff running the amphitheater where horriable

By Calbama |

Place is really . However the staff that was getting ready for the machine gun kelly concert where down right horrible and rude !!!
From hogging the elevator so visitors couldnt use it was so wrong! My 2 year old had to got potty so bad and these guys put a cart of beer in the elevator that did bit fit and took forever trying to get it out with beer falling all
over the elevator then let off alarms and it wouldnt respond once stuck in it !! The staff dealing with the beer where super rude about it . My daughter ended up not making it to the bathroom because of these people . The second would be the people spraying off the stairs would purposely spray u when u walked by . Its a neat place to visit but i wouldnt go back !!

Disappointed in the Red Rocks experience - oversold seats and over crowded

By Ashley |

Disappointed. Going to a concert at Red Rocks has always been a bucket list item. We had General Admission seats (and assumed the entire concert was GA). Right before the headliner started, we got kicked out of our seats. We couldn’t find another place to sit in the entire amphitheater without getting constantly yelled at by security for having our feet in a fire lane. The same worker that yelled at us multiple times was standing in the same fire lane smoking multiple cigarettes… Make it make sense. There are designated smoking areas and the main staircase next to the seats is not one of them. They wanted people to stand in the outer staircases where your view is blocked. Red Rocks had to have over sold general admission seats by the 100s. It was extremely disappointing and leaves a sour taste in my mouth about the venue.

Regal Rocks

By Brian M |

This is just one of those things that you have to see.
Breathtaking views of imposing rock face with seating nestled between Creation Rock to the north, Ship Rock to the south, and Stage Rock to the east? Check. Because of Covid restrictions, the cafe was closed, but they do have facilities on site.
We visited on a non-event day (the concert season runs from April - October). It was rather cold so we didn't get to take the amount of time we would have enjoyed. Parking is free and there's a lot of space for it. The park opens an hour before sunrise and closes an hour after sunset on non-event days; it closes around 2 PM on event days.
While the amphitheatre itself doesn't take a long time to explore, the surrounding park will invite you to linger.
I am looking forward to visiting again when it's warmer.

Great place for a concert

By Jill |

Bucket list concert here , well organized staff and vendors.
Acoustics amazing as expected, loved the smaller venue.

Gift shop had great selection of things to purchase.

Wow

By Celeste B |

Great place to see a show. Park in UPPER North lot (not a far walk) or UPPER South lot (closer than lower lots but still a trek). Fortunately, the free shuttle guy found us and took us to the top. I think they know to look out for the old people….in need and good tippers. Great place to see a show! It is a lot of walking even to get to the rest room. And it’s rain or shine with no cover.
Went back the next day and hiked the Trading Post trail which was amazing!

Beautiful and amazing!

By WanderLSP |

Did Yoga on the Rocks Saturday morning then went on a 1.5 mile hike. Went to a show Sunday night. Loved every minute there!!!

AWESOME

By KTM |

Beautiful Amphitheatre - cannot beat the views and experience. We just were not prepared so please read various postings about parking and hiking/walking up to venue. We arrived late so parking was a bit challenging - they do have shuttle buses at start of show but not sure if they have them afterwards. After you park and if you think you cannot hike up - there are taxis $$.

Next time we visit, we will arrive early, leave late and read up on the best ways to enjoy the experience.

Beautiful

By Tracy P |

We went here with our daughters and our grandchildren. This place is a great place for a hike or walk. We didn't even realize how long it has been here and all of the concerts that have been performed here. We would love to come back for a concert. We had such a great time exploring.

Loved it!

By Tiffany S |

Beautiful, scenic place, very neat to see all the famous people that have played at this venue. Great view, really enjoyed it.

Beautiful

By Dave F |

Stopped here on a trip from Denver to Colorado Springs and I am glad we did. What a beautiful place. Trails are well mapped and easy to follow. We came mid-morning so the volume of people was lower than peak times. If you cannot get into the upper lot, the lower lot of the amphitheatre had plenty of parking but a steep set of steps to get up. If you have young kids or elderly in your group, drop them off up top first. They also have a nice little restaurant, visitor center, and gift shop in the lower level of the upper amphitheater area. Pretty cool place. We will definitely return for a concert sometime!

Breathtaking Park and Iconic Amphitheater

By Kunal J |

Red Rocks Park and Amphitheater is a must-visit when in Denver. The visitor center is immaculate, with lots of informative displays about the park’s history and wildlife. Bathrooms were clean, and the whole area felt very well maintained.

The amphitheater is world-class — the acoustics are amazing, and it’s a fantastic venue for concerts and events. On event days, there are good food options and everything is well organized.

Whether you’re exploring the trails, attending a show, or just taking in the views, Red Rocks is a truly unforgettable experience.

A Landmark to visit

By ruthk191 |

So fascinating! I did not realize Red Rocks Amphitheater was proposed by the local mayor in 1908! The museum has the history of the build including the hand drawn blueprints of how it is positioned between the rocks that give the acoustics for which the venue is famous. There is also a chronology of all the concerts, by year, that have been performed at Red Rocks.
We took the 1.5 mile Trading Post trail that loops around. There is an altitude loss/gain of less than 500 feet so it is not too strenuous though one person in our group did struggle. The view are fabulous so I would recommend doing it.
There are no fees unless you want to leave with a souvenir.
I hope to someday return to see a concert.

This park is so quaint beautiful and it walks you through. There are 5 parking lots..upper north is closest to the amphitheater.

By Dr Kulkarni Mohina S |

This park is so quaint beautiful and it walks you through. In Morrisson Denver
There are 5 parking lots..upper north is closest to the amphitheater.
On non event days it opens 1 hour before sunrise..I've heard on event days it's a serpentine queue for vehicles.
Amazing rocks..great square for snacks..many restrooms..a coffee bar and souvenir shop in the historical centre.
Entry is free...you need good energy to walk around climb steps and atleast 1 hour to see around.
Must visit when in Denver..Colorado...

Dirty heads review 7/1/22

By Disgruntled Concertgoer |

Dirty Heads was OVERSOLD!!! Please stop overselling tickets just to make a buck. We pay for a seat and have to sit in the planters. You are ripping people off.

Stunning

By Anurag Chaudhry |

Stunning views of the rocks and the amphitheater. Scenic hike. Different kinds of rock formations. Great ambience

Amazing views, informative free museum

By KJShay |

This place has amazing views once you get up to the top of the amphitheatre. You can drive up and park in a lot, though there are still a few flights of stairs. If you just arrived in the Denver area and are getting used to the altitude, it might be challenging.
There is a visitor center and small museum with artifacts about the history of the landscape and venue. Even the Beatles played here.
Nearby is the free Colorado Music Hall of Fame with nice exhibits on John Denver and others. A guitar he played is among the displays.
The rock formations are amazing. Some large rocks balance precipitously on edges. Nature is a mad artist.

Awesome!

By MKJourneys |

No other way to experience a concert than at Red Rocks. What an awesome venue- outside, great acoustics and views.
To kick off your experience get there early to tailgate in the parking lot.
Seating (all seats are bench seating)for general admission is first come first served. So if you get there too close to start it may be real difficult to get seats for all together .
Good and drink is available inside the venue.

NOTE- keep in mind if you are disabled or have some trouble walking this venue is very difficult to get around. The steps are steep and not lit during night shows. They do have a handicapped parking area right up at the gate. Inquire to reserve a spot.

Beautiful venue with ugly people

By SkiHike0001 |

No matter where you are for a concert restrooms are too far away with insufficient capacity. Beverages and snacks are at least 400% over retail. Security is lax, people were sneaking pot and drugs past security based activity during a concert. A beautiful venue spoiled by narcissistic behavior of a few.

Please go!!

By lizamarie2016 |

Bucket List checked. Must see. We went during day time just for a visit and it didn’t disappoint. I left wanting I had stayed longer just to sit and watch the view.
Free parking on a day visit. There was a lot of available parking on this Tuesday morning. Don’t be afraid to find parking a little bit closer by going further up- we weren’t lucky to find a spot in that level but we found a lot of empty spots right below it- still a few steps towards the amphitheater not too bad a distance.I didn’t go for a concert so I don’t know if the parking will have to be for a fee by then.
I’m hoping to comeback to watch a concert and or to just watch some meteor showers.
We went to the Trading Post- which was a short drink down- it’s alright.

Nice Views

By WNY1210 |

Tour this area during the day. Nice visitor center and views from the top. A good thing to check off your bucket list. Not tremendously exciting but worth the short trip from Denver to check it out. Be prepared to climb some steep ramps and many stairs, but not too difficult.

Way too many people smoking, never going back

By Justin P |

My first Red Rocks experience. I will NEVER go back. There was no escape from the clouds of marijuana. Just couldn’t get a break. Too bad because it’s quite a venue.

Rock On

By Chris H |

A sprouting of Red Rocks in interesting formations merged with an Amphitheater. I can't imagine a better place to go to a concert, then one here. The backdrop of the soaring Red Rocks with the regular mountains in the background is spectacular. I'm guessing they make the sound mesmerizing also. They have a museum on grounds with a history of the location and all of the thousands of bands to have graced this stage. All the greats have played here. There is also a restaurant on site for those who are hungry. If your just in need of some exercise there are lots of trails to explore.

Overall a 5 star review. I hope to return to see a concert here.

Best outdoor music venue I’ve ever been too!

By Joe R |

Not much more to say about Red Rocks that hasn’t already been said. This is simply one of the best outdoor music venues on Earth for good reason. The sight lines, sound quality, restrooms and concessions are also all top notch, as if the breathtaking scenery that surrounds you isn’t enough. Don’t leave CO without checking their schedule to find a show here.

Red rocks park

Don’t look up the address attached to this original post. Google search Red Rocks park and head that way. I parked for free in this dirt field.

Awesome Bucket List Experience

By Leslie D |

Went to Cole Swindel's concert and it was amazing. The performers were all commenting this was a bucket list item for them and it was for us in the audience. Great venue. Parking was free and although you had to walk it was not bad. However, it could be a lot for some as you are at a high altitude and there are lots of steps. There was a van taking people up the hill from our parking lot (but we walked). The sound was great from our seats on the far left side 1/2 way up and it was NOT too loud. The venue was as amazing as the concert.

We Were There For A High School Graduation

By urbanguy |

What a great venue for a H.S. (Mountain Vista) graduation! Although you may be sitting way up, there are two huge screens showing the faces of the speakers and the new graduates, when their names are called.

The downside: the lack of traffic control way down the hill at Route 8. It took "forever" to get to C-470.

Easter Sunrise Service!

By Colleen C |

WOW ~ Easter Sunrise Service was held here in this beautiful natural acoustics with over 10,000 seats and filled beyond capacity ~ WOW!

With this event and probably with others ~ add an hour to travel time for parking alone.

Why were we punished?

By Scoobmom |

My daughter and I each had a $300 VIP seat to see the Orville Peck tour. Every thing was fantastic until two very large females pushed in next to us and pushed us into one seat space. I said you are in our space and the mouthy one bullied me saying we were in two seats you are in two seats. Go to security if you want (obviously she’s done this before.) I did and they made a great effort to find us equally great seats, but ended up putting us in the roped off section with the cameras. They were great seats for the second act, but we were told not to stand because of the cameras. My daughter knew everyone would stand for the Orville portion and wanted to go back to her original seat (one of us could fit). Security would not allow her to and sure enough we could not see the main act. Night ruined for her and therefore me.

Something that has to be seen at least once - show or not. The property is beautiful - check out the museum; which is very well done.

Red Rocks

By Scott A |

Was suppose to attend a concert there in the next day, but it was cancelled. Decided to go and at least see it and go through the museum. Beautiful venue and can not wait until I can hear a concert here.

Beautiful, but difficult to get to

By Chris R. |

So this spot is absolutely gorgeous.
The only problems I had was with accessibility. I should've done more research I'm sure. I'm mostly able bodied but I unfortunately cannot walk for very long with out my hip flexors freaking out on me. The walk from our parking spot up to the stadium was tough, my hips were on fire.
I'm not sure what options their are for people with even less accessibility than me. I have to hope there is a shuttle or something. I'll absolutely look into if I get another chance to visit.

Also there were a few times while dancing to my favorite bands, that I would look out to the city and get a bit of vertigo. So if you have a big problem with heights or balance I would probably avoid this.

Unique Venue

By slw95756xxx |

Very unique and worth a visit if in the area. Although the hype exceeds the experience, you won't see anything else quite like it anywhere else.

Never got to see led zeppelin when i was young

By Mark B. |

Bucket list item and wow was it fun. Went to see robert plant and allison kruass. Place is much bigger than i thought. It can hold about 10k people. Parking is a problem. You have to walk uphill quite a ways to get to entry gate. Tickets said it started at 7pm but really didnt start until about 9. We had a driver take us about 6 and were licky to get dropped off at front gate but had to walk about a mile down the hill after the concert at about 11. Driver could not pick us up at front gate. Not a place for old or weak. Concert was great. Good seats were about $400/ticket around row 20.

Stunning Park and Amphitheatre in the Denver metro area

By Galeda |

I’d heard about Red Rocks long before visiting there just a few days ago; my cousin worked for a company that provided sound systems for traveling bands, and he traveled with bands playing at Red Rocks many times. Plus, several friends and my next-door neighbors had attended concerts there. So I was happy to finally be able to visit and tour the park while we were in the Denver area.

The park itself is gorgeous, filled with formations of the eponymous red rocks. The roads wind around the hills with plenty of photo opportunities of the lovely outcroppings. We stopped at the top parking lot and looked out over the amphitheater from the food court at the top of the stadium seating—with a stunning view of the Denver skyline—then visited the museum. It’s a cool little collection of music memorabilia from some of the acts that have played at Red Rocks, as well as exhibits covering the history of the area, the building of the amphitheater (by the CCC), and local information. One of the exhibits was a series of plaques listing all the acts that played at Red Rocks, year by year. It was interesting to find our birth years and see what was playing then.

There are many trails winding through the park which we didn’t have time to take, unfortunately. I imagine that visitors could easily make a day of it, hiking through the beautiful scenery. We were only able to spare an hour, but it was still time well-spent.

Awesome Views!

We had a beautiful day to climb up to the top of the red rocks amphitheater. It was absolutely amazing!

Different ways to rock

By Jen K |

Red rocks is a pretty cool place! Beautiful formations from tectonic plates colliding years ago surround an amphitheater built by the CCC. Here, you can exercise in the morning, hike in the afternoon, and listen to a concert in the evening. The trails were well marked, the facility was clean, and the parking was free. We did not attend a concert here.

Vape Rock

By Adv4Me |

Purchased tickets for a show. Music and sights were wonderful. It’s unfortunate that the no smoking rule wasn’t enforced. You can’t escape the smoke.

If you take Lyft or Uber. Have the driver wait for you while you buy tickets at the box office, which is at the bottom of the mountain. Then have the driver drive you to the amphitheater. It’s a good $40 more per ticket if you buy on line. You can save by saying cash.

Quick visit to see something cool

By ZafferB |

This was pretty cool to see. At the end, you're just looking at an Amphitheatre. 4 stars because it was pretty cool to see where it was built, well maintained, and you can go look at it for free. You might catch locals exercising there. Just to look at the theater, you only need like 30 min.

AWESOME

By OhioArubaLovers |

Everyone that has been to Colorado told me this place is a must see. And they were right! We were lucky enough to hear some prerecorded music when were there and the acoustics were amazing. The facility is a WOW moment that you will not soon forget!

Awesome

By Polaroids & Drinkin Stories |

What can I say that I’m sure everyone else hasn’t already said? I’ve been wanting to see a show here since that U2 concert in the 80s made me aware of this venue. All these years later I finally made it. And it was totally worth it. To the point that I’ve decided I might make it an annual trip. Just amazing venue. Doors for my show opened at 6:30 so I got there at 4:30 so I could park in the upper parking lot and cut down on walking uphill some. People line up near the entrance. I had general admission seats and honestly I know it’s cool to be closer to the stage but in a place like this I would actually prefer the upper general admission section for the view. I mean that’s part of the appeal. The area is also open during the day for hiking with some cool trails. Also the Trading Post for gifts and the Colorado Music Hall of Fame (mostly about John Denver.) Like I said: amazing. Oh and forgot to mention: It’s Free!

Nature at its best !!!

It’s a fantastic idea to build an amphitheater at such a place with stunning views with red rocks, the skyline of Denver downtown.

Very disappointed in talent

Such a great venue but no music for older or country fans! Use to have a great variety of music but no longer! Who ever books the events needs to reach out to everyone!

Bonnie Raitt an amazing concert at Red Rocks!!

By Jayne L |

Five years ago my husband and I were in Denver for a wedding so decided to check out Red Reds! We were amazed by the setting and enjoyed hiking around and visiting the Visitors Center. As we left we added to our bucket list returning to Red Rocks for a concert!! So that happened last night!! We heard an awesome concert opening with Mavis Staples!! She was amazing at age 83. Then Bonnie Raitt took the stage and gave an amazing concert as well!! It was a beautiful night with the full moon rising in the sky! Such a magical place!! We were not disappointed and plan to make a visit to Red Rocks for a concert an annual event!!

I’ve always heard of Red Rocks. I’m glad I visited. We went to see it on a day with no performance. You can walk onto the stage and go into the stands. Make sure to visit the visitors center

Breathtaking

Absolutely beautiful! We were there for the 9-11 Stair Climb. It was such a solemn experience. What a wonderful tribute to the folks who lost their lives.

We visited Red Rocks for LSZEE in October 2024. The first night was (for us), unfortunately, pretty awful. I think it was just way too packed, the stairs were absolutely killer, and for people in our party that don't enjoy weed (I know, boo hoo, we're in CO) it was overwhelmingly filled with Marijuana smoke. We ended up leaving the crowd to get some space up top, but couldn't see much. Acoustics were amazing, and we loved to be able to take a break and check out the museum during the show. They have a lot of flushable toilets and snacks.
The next morning, we indulged in a sound bath, which was spiritually healing and absolutely remarkable. Friendly staff and no issues finding space.
Sunday night at the concert was much more tame, and we enjoyed ourselves much more. We were able to snag a shuttle from where we parked to avoid a long walk up the stairs, which was helpful as well. I think (facing the stage) the right side is a little more relaxed. Prepare yourself for lots of stairs, and if you're not interested in seeing the opening acts, arriving late is the way to go.
Overall, it was a great experience, but if you're not interested in being completely surrounded by weed smoke and a lot of people around you, then definitely just hang back on the side. It's still very enjoyable not being directly in the center of the chaos.
I expected an amazingly spiritual, out of this world experience, but it wasn't our favorite venue. I'd take a regular, not so hyped venue any day to be honest.

Nice Venue

By David S |

The venue has great acoustics.

We arrived for a Lindsey Sterling concert and paid for the VIP experience. There were no signs of the meet and greet event and no mention anywhere of where that was located. We walked all the way down to the stage area, only to discover no VIP event was there. We walked back up and found the event in the visitor's room. We asked various food vendors who had no idea of where that was.

The reserved seating is very tight quarters, so if you have a large person sitting next to you they will take a lot of your space.

In regards to parking, we parked in the Upper North Lot which took 45 minutes to get out of the parking lot and to the main road which had security directing traffic. The venue needs a better parking lot or seating releases after the event since you have almost 10,000 fans trying to leave at the same time.

Bring along stuff for a tailgate party after because you will have plenty of time to enjoy it while everyone else is stuck in traffic.

Earthy, UnEarthly and Amazing!

By Cruisegal2533 |

Must do, must see! Great shows, unmatched scenery, something for everyone. This is an athletic venue, be prepared to log a lot of steps and flights of stairs. The views and the rocks are majestic. The entertainment aspects at a concert are well organized, with everything you need, facilities, historic information, food and drinks. I find that how you get to the Rocks makes a huge difference. We've tried Uber, party bus and CID shuttle. CID is the best! Takes you nearest to the very top, by the Visitors Center and the best facilities, etc...

Amazing spot

By John M |

The park and ampitheater are well worth a visit even if you are not attending a concert here. Amazing atmosphere. There was a soundcheck happening when we were there, and even that was cool. Great museum showing the history of the ampitheater as well.

Beautiful and painful

By N Kraft |

The venue is absolutely stunning. The scenery is second to none and the beauty of the theater is undeniable. But this rating is going to take a hit because of the ungodly hike we had to do to reach the venue. We weren’t prepared to go up the many many steps and steep incline to reach the seating area (which is horrendously uncomfortable). Overall, great to experience once but not worth the discomfort to do again

Breathtaking views!

By Noah S |

We visited here when there was no concert going on. The whole facility is beautiful, and even though they were setting up for a concert later in the evening, we were able to walk around and explore everywhere. We went on a hike on one of their trails, and the views throughout the whole thing were stunning. This free experience was absolutely worth it! If you’re from out of town and not used to the elevation, make sure to take your time!

Inspiring

By hcvoyageuse |

#1 - be sure to check the schedules for the day you want to visit. Areas of the park close early and are inaccessible when there are concerts in the evenings.

If you can, definitely go into the amphitheater and explore... truly remarkable. The visitors center at the top is okay. The trading post is a nice stop, with an interesting little music museum, and great tribute to John Denver! Do not miss the garden area behind the trading post and the views. Also... there is a wonderful trail loop just near the trading post. Fairly easy hike, but uneven ground.

Rather abysmal

By Law O |

We attended a full-house concert event in Mid- August. During the break before the main act took the stage, my wife left our seats for a beverage. She fell on the poorly-lit stairs. She broke her big toe, and badly injured her knee and an ankle. The first aid folks were friendly but the safety setup - especially for disabled/impaired folks - is quite poor overall. If you are over 40, in poor health, or planning to imbibe heavily... BEWARE. the footing here is lacking. As is the lighting on the stairs.

Don't miss the Red Rocks Part and Amphitheatre

By roseb830 |

Definitely worth a visit if you are in the Denver area. Too many stairs for us out of shape seniors, but the family climbed to the top and really enjoyed the view. We also enjoyed the view of the red rocks and the panorama below from the bottom of the amphitheater. It must be amazing to hear a concert here!

Beautiful scenery in the park!

By David D |

The park is absolutely beautiful with lots of scenic views. The amphitheatre itself was a bit crowded, even going during the morning with no concert.

The visitor center has a lot of information on the history of the amphitheatre, and there are also restrooms inside.

Great Venue

By derrickwg36 |

Red Rocks Amphitheater is an amazing place to see a concert, but I would advise visiting in the summer. I saw the Chris Tomlin Concert, which was amazing, but the weather did not cooperate. Freezing Rain occurred, even with a pouncho is was extremely hard to remain warm or dry, so halfway through the concert I departed. I am going to see another concert this summer and I am excited. This venue is amazing.

An added bonus is there are numerous trails around the amphitheater and a museum. If you arrive early you can walk one of the trails or visit the museum.

Fire Denver Parks

By William |

Fire Denver Parks please. Red rocks was so much more fun and better run before Denver Parks did their hostel take over.

I really miss those days.

Beautiful Morning Walk

By Barbara B |

We drove to the top (North) parking lots....glad we did as it was a long way up. The amphitheatre was amazing. Build into the stone and granting views of the stage from wherever you are. The rest of the park is also amazing. There a lovely areas, and you can walk/hike as you want.

Day and Night

By Greg1al |

Going to Red Rocks was a bucket list item for me and it did not disappoint!
Went to 2 concerts at night and also did tour during the day - highly recommend going during the day and night to see and explore

Breathtaking❤️

By Beachplease! |

Absolutely wondrous views. Unfortunately on the day we visited the amphitheater was closed due to a pending concert .we were not able to access the amphitheater. However, the views from outside and around were nothing short of breathtaking. I’m glad we made this short stop for this once in a lifetime view . I would highly encourage anybody to see a concert here I’m sure that the experience would be unforgettable

A Must See Concert Venue - Must Attend a Concert Here

By mjcarmem |

Saw the most amazing concert, For King and Country at the BEST venue EVER, BAR NONE!!! Acoustically perfect natural amphitheater in the cliffs of Red Rocks Park. Be prepared for crazy parking and “hikes” to the entrance if driving yourself to the venue - and somewhat strenuous hikes! A shuttle is well worth it! Inside, you’re also going to find a lot of stairs for anyplace you want to go inside. But other than that, an absolutely stunning place for a concert!

Bucket list checked off and recommend to ALL!

By Misty A |

WOW! That is all that needs to be said about this amazing place. I will forever be ruined seeing any concert at a regular venue, but words cannot express what an amazing experience this was. I highly recommend that you go to the park early in the day when there is not a concert going on. It is free to park and tour when there isn't an event going on. Be prepared for A LOT of stairs (bring water and sunscreen) and for decreased ability to breath if you are not from a high altitude state. Stairs are doable but at a slower pace for sure. MUST see during day and at night.

Superb and great kindness shown

By McArthur3 |

This is an amazing amphitheatre and park. The visitor centre has lots of great information and history of who has played there is fantastic. We visited twice in July - first time to look around and experience the setting and second to see Tedeschi Trucks Band , Los Lobos and Gabe Dixon - it was simply the best night of music ever. We met many friendly folks who just talked away to us and expressed interest in how far we’d travelled to visit. As overseas visitors we were unable to download our tickets via non US phones so had to use the ‘will call’ cabin - my only negative is that this is really quite far away if you don’t have any transport ( for the gig as we had returned our hire car we travelled by organised bus from Denver then had to walk down to the will call cabin then walk up again to the trading post - in very warm temps this is a long way) However we met really nice folks in the will call line who then stopped to give us a lift up top - this was one of the many random acts of kindness we encountered during our visit to Colorado and Utah and we really do want to thank the driver and his partner for helping us out and keeping us right about the line. A truly fabulous place to visit.

The View!

By Buddy V |

Wow, what a view of Denver and surroundings from inside! Visited during a non-concert afternoon.
Free parking and access, able to walk from lower parking lot to the top. Definitely a bit of a climb, but doable, especially for that view.
They are doing renovations that may help address some of the issues people discuss. Upper entrance and one of the lots was closed.
Wish we had time to hike around. Would definitely like to visit again for a concert.

You'll like it

By Nick P |

We didn't go for a show, just to look around. Many people do that and it is worth it. You can enjoy the view, walk up and down the stairs for exercise (you'll see a lot of folks doing that), and take excellent photos. The museum is quite interesting too.
There is no parking fee (at least when there is no show), try to reach the top lot.

Visit in the morning! And it's free.

By Ginger B R |

This is a great place to visit in the later morning. The scenery is gorgeous. You can enter the ampitheater, watch everyone exersize, walk on the seats. In the building is a museum and hall of fame of people who played there, which is interesting. There are also trails going out from the parking lot to walk on. We stopped at a restaurant inside the building for some six dollar mimosa's with a killer view. Great visit! Oh, it's all free too.

A nice drive with views.

By Barry and Nicol... G |

If you have an hour to spare its worth visiting Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre. The park road gives you great views of the lovely red rocks. Its free to drive through.

Easy hike. Beautiful scenery.

By GlobetrotterBella |

This was my first stop in my Colorado road trip. I had to see this famous place. I suggest you arrive before 1pm. If they have an event that night, they will close down the amphitheater to the public at a certain time. You can still hike the trails.

The amphitheater is big. I wish I would have seen a live performance so I could appreciate it better. There’s no shade, so be prepared.

The trading post trail was an easy walk. It starts at the trading post and does a loop. You get to walk along the huge rocks and get to see wildlife. We saw a bunny as soon as we started. Make sure you fill up your water bottle at the trading post. Bathroom are available at the trading post too. We parked near the trail without issues. It was free to park and enter.

Overall, I think we spent about 2.5 hours in the area.

Amazing venue

By BettyManchesterUK |

Attended the Charlie Crockett concert. This is the most beautiful venue to watch a live concert. Throughly enjoyed the experience a once in a lifetime visit. Ubers readily available to the end of the night. Met some great people who shared the experience.

Grand humbling amphitheater, will leave you spell bounded

By Suvra Kanta Roy |

The place is such an overwhelming and wonderfully planned structure. Although most of it looks already pre built by nature, the idea to transform it into an amphitheater is commendable.
We did not experience a live show but did witness a practice session for an upcoming event which itself was a good feel of how would it all come together on an event night. The backdrop of the humbling rocks and fine meadows is pristine. Must see even if there is no event going on

Tip: Try grabbing parking in the north entry parking lot to avoid climbing the daunting flight of stairs. Also check timings before going, the timings don't seem to be consistent based on events.

Amazing Place

By Fireandice29 |

World class venue for a reason! This place is breathtaking for a concert. When in Denver, try to see a show there. If that's not possible, head up earlier in the day to take in the view!

Beautiful Views, Great Place to Visit!

By CindyMcN |

Be prepared to walk...including stairs...but so worth the view once you get to the top of the ampitheatre. One thing to look into before visiting is see if there is an event that day...they will close early to allow time to set up for the event. There are plenty of bathrooms. The visitor center and gift shop are worth the visit. We will go back and walk some of the trails. Beautiful place to visit.

BEST place EVER for a concert

By airbrush1212 |

OMG.....in addition to being a spectacular setting with incredible views, the sound is perfect, the staff is awesome, and everything about this place is top notch!!!!!

Amazing all around

By Travis |

1st time visit for a concert. Not sure what could make this place any better except an escalator to the top. Be prepared to do a little stair climbing and/or uphill walking. The sound and views were some of the best I have ever seen. Clean bathrooms and affordable concessions. If it bothers you, know that they ask attendees not to publicly use marijuana but it’s obvious people are partaking. Will return!

This venue thrives now by spreading questionable memes in its marketing tactics based on its past reputation. Weed in the air is

By JEFF F |

No reviewer could possibly give an honest one or 2 star rating. The unique scenery and acoustics are second to none in the world. That's a verifiable and established fact. My first visit here for a night concert was this evening 08.19.25. That said, I sat in five different areas of the amphitheater and could not escape the constant flow of disgusting second-hand marijuana smoke. The rule about such use in the venue is obviously not enforced by any official employed by the venue. In fact, having mentioned the issue to several ushers confirmed that the rule prohibiting use of weed is too hard and too tricky to enforce. Any potential patron should seriously balance the venue's beauty and acoustics with the potential pulmonary / respiratory issues that may ensue when attending its events / concerts. I will certainly have to make that call for any future visits to Red Rocks.

Film on The Rocks

By Valerie Hays |

While visiting Colorado, we took in one of there summer movies at Red Rock. It was a blast! They had local students from School of Rock do a preshow concert and then showed the classic, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Of course we had to climb to the top! Great views from the top row center. Highly recommend the funnel cake.
Ending the evening with two beautiful mule deer running around the parking lot.

Wow!!

By Selena S |

Amazing! We got to the park and the amphitheatre was closed due to a concert that evening. We checked with the park employees and they said it's up to the group playing as to what time the amphitheatre will close. So just be aware. We ended up coming the next day and got to get in. Wow! So happy we were lucky enough to have an extra day to do this. It did not disappoint! We definitely want to come back for a concert!
We hiked around the park and then took the stairs up back into the amphitheatre. Whew! Take a break if you need to. There are a lot of stairs up!
This is a definite if you are in the Denver area!!

A long weekend with a concert

By alpw |

My husband and I were in the Denver area for a few days. The concert was the main reason and was very good, but we were didn't care for the venue.

First, the parking was a pain. There are two entrances and the one we wanted was closed. But we passed the first parking area and there was no indication that the second parking area was closed. The walk up to the amphitheater was a good 30 mins, uphill. There were vans and small buses that will shuttle you up, but there are no signs for it. We found out only when we overheard someone else ask a security guard about a shuttle. The shuttle will take you up, but not down unless you were handicapped. So, folks out of shape or with walking difficulties may want take the shuttle up. In comparison to the Hollywood Bowl, there are no middle aisles in the seating area. So, anyone coming and going must go the either end of the seating. And there are no backs to the seating.

The amphitheater is deep in a canyon and has really good acoustics and the clarity of the screens were incredible. Parking was free. Plenty of legroom in the seating area. The bathrooms were at the top and bottom of the seating area.

Majestic concert venue

By Alvaro L |

Red Rock Amphitheater is a majestic outdoor concert venue nestled amid towering red boulders. The brilliant idea of placing the stage in this natural desert setting creates an unparalleled ambiance. Each seat offers a breathtaking view not only of the performers but also of the vast valley stretching out behind the stage. As the music echoes through the canyons, you can't help but be awestruck by the stunning backdrop. Red Rock Amphitheater leaves you mesmerized by the seamless fusion of music and nature.

MUST SEE

By Boss Mom |

AMAZING. We traveled from Michigan to Colorado and woke early to catch the sunrise here and it DID NOT DISSAPOINT. Amazing---something I will remember forever. I would HIGHLY suggest to get up early and do this. i would love to return to CO to see an event here.

Great venue to see a concert. Awesome acoustics. Dined at the Shiprock grill prior. food and venue very good. Highly recomend a visit here, If dining a Shiprock Grill you can park in the upper lot and is a short walk

Bucket List Item to Visit and Watch a Concert

By PatrickC1955 |

Wow, this is on my bucket list "again" because I must be there for a concert. The location is spectacular, hard to explain unless you go there. It was much more than the photos I've seen for years. Definitely go into the museum and you'll be amazed at how it was created and the acts that have played there over the years. I was shocked to hear that The Beatles played there!

Experience of a lifetime!

By RudeeB32 |

I have always heard about the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre, but it's something totally different to actually experience it! The views are breathtaking and one of a kind. A definite must visit if you are one with the outdoors and love taking in the scenery.

Grandeur with a bang

By Ralf S |

Amazing Venue ,we saw Tiesto and the sound and atmosphere where absolutely brilliant. Even in the dark the view was astounding , seeing the lights of Denver in the distance.
Everything was super well organized. Highly recommend this. for a day trip or a concert.

Amazing views after a 380 step climb

By Roadtripz101 |

Got here midday on thankfully a mild day in terms of temp around 80. The rocks you viewed in the distance only added to the building excitement as you took each twist in the winding road.

We selected the first entrance which takes you right to trading post area. There is a small lot there and most spots are along the road but wasn’t too bad finding a spot. Next the climb to the gift shop and I will say it’s quite the climb. 380 steps ascending 300 feet which is the equivalent of climbing to the 30th floor of a skyscraper. We managed as there are some flat stops along the way but if you have some health or fitness concerns I would think twice. It’s strenuous and if the temps were above 80’s it would be difficult.

The venue is amazing as are the views once you ascend. The gift shop at the top has some nice t-shirts and fountains to fill water bottles. It also has restrooms and a small museum. Really a cool place and the rocks almost look unreal they are so red, rounded, almost cartoon like. I felt like it could be a set for the Flintstones. Definitely worth the arduous climb but be prepared.

Beautiful place to hike

By marla771 |

It was hot and a little crowded but absolutely gorgeous. My husband isn't much of a hiker but there were short trails. The views were awesome.

This is Denver's Finest

By Marty D |

There are lots of reasons to visit Red Rocks. Of course, you might go to a concert there. This is a great outdoor venue. Besides its good acoustics, there's a great view and a special allure that being at Red Rocks adds to any concert. There's also an interesting museum for daytime visitors and there are a lot of folks who run or walk the stairs for exercise. It's very hot midday on a warm day, but choose the right time and enjoy this as a tourist. There's a drop off at the top for folks who need it. Otherwise, be prepared to walk.

Dreadful concert experience.

By RoverP |

This is a terrific venue for a concert with a setting like no other, but the good stuff ends there. We booked 3 tickets for a concert and were sat expectantly in the wonderful surroundings. Scheduled to start at 18.30 we waited about 30 minutes beyond that till the warm up act came on stage. They played for about 30 minutes and then it was another 40 minutes or so before the support act took the stage. Obviously they were very popular as rows of people in front of us stood up. One of our party is unable to stand for long and the other 2 of us would much rather sit and watch the musicians play. The booking details make it clear that people should be respectful of others and remain seated. Clearly this is not adhered to here. We decided to leave as it was clear that we would not get to see what we came to see. The delays and the failure of the venue to enforce its own policy led to a truly awful concert experience.

Fabulous

By coolmammaa |

Bucket list check
Just this stunning and wonderful structure in the middle of these rocks
They have lots of food and drinks options at a reasonable price. The merchandise line was insane though.

Be aware this place is not accessible so you will have to climb a lot of stairs regardless your age, condition or where you want to sit.

Our concert was on hold for an hour, nothing to do, just wait. Their communication was great and precise.

Absolutely amazing!

Old Dominion

By Hadley96 |

Beautiful venue. A lot, and I mean a lot of steps! I hate the bench seating. Some people don't understand the concept of their own space. Dude sat closer to me than my husband.
Awesome gift shop. Amazing concert. Sound was perfect.

Great by day or night!

By TXMARTINS |

Whether you go by day to explore and walk the steps or by night for an event this is an epic CO experience and family friendly. Parking normally opens 2 hours before the event, doors 1 hour before the event so a lot of people tailgate. Yoga tickets at Red Rocks are often available and fun to go with friends. In peak events the traffic is crazy and the lines long so plan accordingly.

Yoga on the Rocks ROCKED!

By TMBtrips22 |

I saw the morning news with Yoga on the Rocks a year ago and finally made the time to zip over for a quick weekend getaway with my girlfriends.
AMAZING! As close as you can get to Heaven while still being on Earth. Took my breathe away and gave me the peace I need in this busy crazy world.

Way over crowded, completely oversold shows.

By Steve B |

I've been coming to shows here over the last 25 years and space/crowding has never been that big of an issue until last night at the Stick Figure concert. Took my wife and two kids, we all love the band and this was my son's first concert. It was immediately obvious that they oversold this show by at least 20-30%. There was nowhere to stand to see the stage let alone find a seat somewhere. I'm assuming that this is now standard practice for Red Rocks as they chase maximum profit in exchange for a terrible audience experience. I've never seen this amount of crowding on the side stairs etc. I talked to a staff member at the top about it and he directed me down the stairs to another staff member. They staff member directed me upstairs to someone else to find seats. At this point we decided to leave. I will never come back here, experience totally ruined.

Great venue but they’ve let control go

By Chelsea H |

I loved the concert that we saw at red rocks and I don’t blame Thomas Rhett at all but after paying 200+ dollars for a GA ticket we walked in and everybody was “saving seats” with sweatshirts and water bottles that we had to stand on the sides. I thought that at least it we paid that much money there would be people making sure that selfish people weren’t “saving seats” so that people who paid for actual tickets had to be on the sidelines. And then leaving the concert there were no people directing traffic and we had to watch drunk drivers running into cars with crying children in the backseat. I’m sorry red rocks, I know that you want to be hands off when it comes to controlling things, but it’s gotten too out of control.

Red Rocks Worth a Visit - Concert or Not!

By RobTangeman |

While we didn't get to attend a concert here (maybe one day!) it was still definitely worth the visit. There are basically two museums on the premises. The trading post at the bottom serves as the Colorado Music Hall of Fame and the top of Red Rocks serves as its own museum. Both are well done and fun to walk through. The souvenirs are a bit pricey - a t-shirt for $49.99! so we settled for a $1 bookmark and left happy. Definitely worth a visit if you have an extra 2 hours to spend in the Denver area.

Scenic Find!

By hj99 |

We didn't realize this was here when we were visiting the area and I am so glad my husband found it! The scenery was beautiful and the amphitheater setup was so neat! Would love to see a performance here someday. I love that you could hike here and that paved hiking areas are available. There are a lot of steps that made for a good workout! It is free to come and explore the attraction and the restrooms and area were very clean! We didn't realize that the little beverage/snack stands were not open and that the gift shop area was closed, however, on the way out we saw a trading post combined with a very small rock and roll museum that did have snack/drink options as well as souvenirs for purchase.

Go!

By JackieBG7 |

We built our CO trip around Red Rocks concert - so glad we did!
We spent about 8 hours in the park - hiking, dinner and then the show.
The steps can be challenging - be sure to have the right footwear.
Also suggest bringing a cushion.
We will definitely return.

Only for the Young and Able

By Michael C |

The Venue is beautiful. We saw a great show and stayed in Golden. Our favorite, Burning Spear, was playing and will play again this summer but we will not attend. I really want to know what they were thinking. No railings to negotiate the steep seating area. We are former long time desert and mountain hikers but we would not recommend anyone challenged with balance issues to visit this place. What were they thinking?

Great Concert at Red Rocks

By amydeloach |

Great venue for concerts. Amazing acoustics. Fun crowd. Every seat is excellent. The venue has adequate parking. Bathroom facilities well maintained. Lots of memorabilia.

Wonderful but Over-Booked seating

By ZJ D |

I have long been a patron of Red Rocks. The place is special to see a concert. The sound is incredible and the night shows can be magical. I will say the rules have become a bit much with regards to parking choices and the inability to bring in a tarp, even a small one to keep the rain off is a bit ridiculous. On top of that, the overbooking of seats does not allow all the patrons room to sit. That may be a post Covid catch-up for sales, but unacceptable since people are not allowed to sit on steps or walls, but there was clearly not enough seats. If I pay for a seat, I expect to be able to have a seat available.

Bucket list complete!

By Deb M |

I spent a lot of time scoping out the area, and it paid off. Weather can't be helped, but this bucket list experience more than met my expectations. Be there early! You won't be sorry! Wonderful concert venue (but we got rained out 1/2 way in)

The Best Concert Venue In The World

By The Scenic Suitcase |

Arguably the best concert venue in the world, Red Rocks does not disappoint. The ambiance is stunning and the sound from the rocks surrounding the amphitheater is incredible. It’s even impressive out in the parking lot! It’s a bucket list experience for anyone who enjoys music and the outdoors.

Terrible service with concert

By Laurie T |

very bad experience. poor customer service, Ltd shuttle service before concert, which is not offered after concert. No one there for any help , forced to pray that we could find car up the mountain road. Poor parking, disorganized, poor customer service

Must see space

By Marcia W |

We stopped here and visited the awe inspiring amphitheatre, hiked up to the geological marker, and toured the Red Rocks Hall of Fame (by the ampitheater gift shop) and Colorado Musicians Museum (inside the trading post). There was live music on the patio of the amphitheater and you could enjoy it with a burger and beer if desired. All in all, a nice day! Only wish we could have attended a concert while we were there to hear the much lauded acoustics.

Very Scenic

By derrickwg36 |

Red Rocks Park and amphitheater is a great place to visit while you are in the Denver area, it’s an incredible experience. If you want to get some exercise while you are there, I suggest walking the amphitheater steps, it’s an amazing work out. The area is very scenic, it has a trail, museum and amphitheater to visit. It’s a great way to spend the day and the scenery is unmatched. I highly recommend visiting Red Rocks Park.

Excellent, Professional, and Heartfelt!

By William Z |

Attended the Josh Grogan concert last evening, July 24. Simply Awesome! Could not have been better. Beautiful music, gorgeous views lasting about 3 hours! Thank You Josh Groban, and all of the local staff that pulled it off!

Terrible seating management

By Mike J |

Beautiful venue and good sound quality, but terrible seating management. Went to Brit Floyd show on 9 June, 2022. Either the venue was oversold, the management is incompetent, or both. There was not nearly enough capacity in the seating area for everyone who was in attendance. People are spread out and saving seats, and the ushers do nothing about it. I spent most of the show stood on the side stairs with my son, along with a great many others. I only had general admission tickets, but I chatted with several people who had assigned seats who couldn’t access those seats because they were occupied by people who wouldn’t move, and I personally witnessed ushers refusing to help these people.

The Best Music Venue in te Country

By ReadRibbet |

On a nice night, Red Rocks is the best music venue in the country. The beautiful natural amphitheater is a great place to hear a concert. It is so cool to watch the sun set and the lights come on in the city of Denver. We have been five different times and can't wait to go back again.

Fun

By AR-BRAY |

Fun Venue. Great shows. Just plan ahead for rain, stairs, and walking up hill. If you can do that then you are going to have a great time.

Fun Red Rocks

Our reason for coming to Denver and not disappointed! Beautiful venue, good food and drink options more reasonable than some public venues. Expect long traffic lines coming and going. Get to Red Rocks early so you can enjoy it before it fills up and try to chill in the traffic glut upon exiting. It’s not that bad! Lots of steps so be prepared.

Bad experience

By Heather |

There is very clear, detailed information for ADA services on their website. ADA parking must be validated which I greatly appreciate, and ADA parking and the shuttle were amazing. Once in the venue though, the experience changed. I had a seat in row 2 because I have mobility restrictions and need to remain seated. My seat was towards the end of the row, and everyone else in my row stood up, leaned against the rail and blocked my view. I thought I was doing the right thing by not buying a wheelchair seat, but I was wrong. It's a beautiful venue, just a disappointing experience.

Made us want to return for a concert

By Lynda W |

Amazing! You cannot miss this. We went mid morning and found it not too busy
Easy drive from Denver. Stunning views from all angles

A must see

By VNORVI |

One of the places you have to see. I moved away from denver 42 years ago, and I had completely forgotten how spectacular this place really is. We visited for a day and hiked in and around. I’m 65 and unfortunate they do not really have shoes anymore that appeal to my age group, but the visit was wonderful.

Bucket List Experience

By MrMovie500 |

It has been on my bucket list for years to see a concert at Red Rocks. This iconic venue has hosted some of the biggest names in music. I finally had the opportunity to see a Queen tribute band, Killer Queen. What a beautiful venue to enjoy live music. Outdoor venues do come with the risk of weather. This night there were two weather delays for thunder/lightning but it was handled in stride and the band and most of the crowd stayed and finished the show. Overall it met my expectations and I can mark this off my bucket list.

Neat place to visit and do a hike

By left210 |

Definitely worth visiting even if not going to a concert. Note if not going to a concert you must visit before 2 if a concert is scheduled that night. We went early morning and saw the people exercising at the amphitheater stairs which was neat to see as some did intense workouts. We hiked the Trading Post trail. Recommend starting from the right side and circling around because you will be doing the steep stairs going down vs. at the end of your hike going up.

WOW!

By Vicky |

Thought this would be a quick stop off on our way to Evergreen but it was so much more! We walked all around the amphitheater and the only word to describe it is majestic! They had music playing which echoed so beautifully. I can only imagine what a live performance sounds like. Spectacular views in every direction, hiking trails, a great visitors center with the history of the theater and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. So glad we stopped!

Unforgettable Scenery.

By Ashley G |

I cannot find the words to describe how beautiful this place is. Pictures do not do this place justice. My friends and I are road tripping from the east coast to the west coast and we stood a few nights in Denver and this place is breathtaking. I cannot wait until I get to visit this place again and see a concert here.

Great venue!

By Dusti W |

This place takes your breath away, and not just because of the elevation!
We drove up to see what’s what and we’re blown away by the view. We will definitely be coming back to see a show here. The venue is small, all the seating has great views!

Stunning

By Teresa H |

We attended a concert and the acoustics were amazing. The amphitheater itself was stunning both as the sun set and as the rocks were lit after dark. It was easy to get to parking. Just beware that there are a lot of steps both up and down to get from parking to the venue and from the entrance to your seat.

Beautiful

By A.Casey |

Beautiful setting! We weren’t sure, as first timers, where to park. We ended up parking at the south lot and hiking a ways to the amphitheater. It was an endless amount of stairs! I am not “fit” but with two rests in between I did make it from the very bottom to the very top! I then later, found out you can drive to the top LOL but the experience was well worth the climb! Definitely recommend seeing and doing. Check the schedule to ensure there’s no concert going on at the amphitheater when you want to go.
We took a hike on the easy trail- trading post trail- afterwards. It was Beautiful!

Great quick drive from Denver for red rocks

By Veganinthesouth |

This is a quick drive from Denver to explore the red rocks. There is a path that goes around the amphitheatre that is worth doing. It would be nice to pack a lunch and sit in the amphitheatre. Tons of people doing workouts and just hanging out. Great views of red rocks and of the skyline. FYI Right now the north parking lot bathrooms are they only ones opened

Can't-miss concert venue

By ARS |

While we did not explore the park, we did attend the concert on Independence Day, which Grammy-winning band Blues Traveler has made an annual tradition (since 1994). In addition to the views of the surrounding gorgeous scenery, the amphitheatre does not disappoint when it comes to experiencing a concert. And the plus of attending on July 4th is that you can witness all of the fireworks shows along the Front Range.

Go for hike versus just the amphitheater

By Mary Ann D |

We saw the amphitheater which is interesting but we were not allowed in the Visitors Center (it was maybe about 10am on the day of a show) so that was kind of a bummer. Also I am told that you can go on stage when there is not a show and see the signatures of the artists that have performed there. Having said that, I think the schedule in the summer is pretty full for obvious reasons (ie better weather than something like Nov or Dec!) and so you can’t really see those things easily. Also ticket prices are pretty high (>$100/ticket) but if there is an artist you really want to see, might be worth it. For those reasons a trip to just see the amphitheater is probably not worth it. However the hiking around the amphitheater is great and we enjoyed a 3.5 mile hike with lovely views of the red rocks and that was definitely worth it!

Best Music Venue Ever

By Firplace |

The Park and access to the music stage has seen many changes and improvements since I was there 25 years ago, Walking trails, some with asphalt, have opened it up for more hiking opportunity. But the sound stage and setting are still best for a concert. Even seats further from the stage have an intimate feel, tucked in the arms of red rock. We heard/saw Jason Isbell and his "400 Unit", and even in the cold mountain air with moisture starting to fall, it was one of the best concert experiences I've had. Don't pass up Red Rocks!

Man working with nature at its beat

By HelenaJ2511 |

Experience nature at its best and man designing around it. A spectacular natural space was transformed into an amazing amphitheater, respectful of nature.

Only the best!

By markman2112 |

What can be said? Of the hundred or so concert venues I've been to, this is one of the most incredible ones. Beautiful scenery, perfect acoustics, and Denver twinkling away in the distance right above the stage. We saw a three night run of the String Cheese Incident shows and it was a religious and life changing experience. The climb up from the parking lot was challenging but don't let that deter you. It was worth every step! If you have the opportunity to make it here, don't pass it up!

A must visit in Denver, CO

By garbagecollector |

A must visit when in Denver if you haven't been before. We parked below the Amphitheater at the trading post parking lot. From there you can walk up the steep ramp all the way to the Amphitheater -- assuming you are in reasonable shape to do it -- and/or start the trading post trail across the road which is a beautiful walk through the red rocks. Both or either are a fantastic sight that should not be missed.

That afternoon there was also a free concert at the Amphitheater which allowed us to hear the acoustics. Pretty amazing and LOUD.

Atemberaubende Red Rocks

It's a hell of a view. The view makes you breathless. Unfortunately, the Holl of fame was closed when we got there. Nevertheless, I would come back here again.

Nice half day trip

By daikin |

This is a great half day trip from Denver its an amphitheater surrounded by big Red rocks and the rocks looks bigger in person

Great nature trails

By Nicholas K |

The day after we enjoyed a concert at Red Rocks, we came back during the day to explore the numerous hiking/nature trails that surround the amphitheater. Easily accessible from Denver, one will appreciate the stunning landscapes the area has to offer, including the rocks that helped form the amphitheater. The visitors center has a water bottle filler to stay hydrated as well.

Just amazing

By Gerhard D |

OMG. The nature beauty of this place is amazing. We did a adventure tour that included time at the amphitheater and visitor center before starting our hike. It’s amazing to see all the famous artists that have played here over the years. We would love to see an actual concert here. There are a number of easy and moderate hiking trails.

Red Rocks Amphitheater Rocks!

By Michelle B |

An amazing experience with the most incredible views and sound. Good food too! We saw the Led Zeppelin cover band Get the Lead out. Wow so much like the original band. You can’t go wrong in Any seat!

Absolutely amazing

By tenisheat2016 |

Amazing views of the canyon. Plenty of parking and snacks available to purchase. The amphitheatre is so cool, the walk to the top is a trek but well worth it. The museum was closed due to covid unfortunately. There is plenty to wildlife to observe in their natural habitat.

Concert venue in Morrison, CO

By Vy H. |

Came here for the Reggae on the Rocks concert and it was incredible!! The structure and views of this place is insane—breath taking!! The sound system was awesome too!

It’s a hike to the top, so wear comfortable shoes. From the parking lot, there’s a complimentary shuttle that can take you to the top! Food and drinks are sold at the top but you can get snacks and drinks down towards the stage as well.

Highly recommend coming here for a concert!

Perfection

By Michael G |

Like I really need to leave a review for this place. What can I write that has not be written thousands of times prior? The trails are gorgeous, the trading post is very cool, and the amphitheater? Perfection!!! I go every year for just one show. This year it was Beck/Phoenix/Japanese Breakfast/Sir Chloe. Nothing I can write can compare to the experience of this place. If there were a heaven, this most assuredly would be mine.

Stars are so bright in the heavens and on stage

By CindyLou2262 |

Red Rocks Amphitheater. I’ve seen so many amazing talented people that preformed there, even met a few. Back in the day, I would score some back stage passes. I have some great pictures and memories (some I can’t remember a thing, lol, to much fun).
My favorite Venue in the world to see concerts and outdoor movies! The stars in the heavens is spectacular and the stars on stage are bright as well. I’m so happy they are allowing concerts, movies, tourism and hiking to finally start again. Married to a geologist I always get the inside spectrum.
Check out the sign, it shows earths time.

I WOULD recommend.

A magical evening of music under the stars!

By Travellover |

A beautiful evening of music under the stars! Attending a concert at Red Rocks is a bucket list experience. It’s a must see venue if you’re in the Denver area. The elevation is quite high and walking from the parking lot uphill to the amphitheater is not easy but it’s all worthwhile once you arrive at your seat! There was a free shuttle bus which could have taken us part way up the mountain after we had parked our car, but we opted not to wait in the long line and just kept walking….
There are plenty of concession stands and bathrooms once you arrive at the amphitheater. There are even drink vendors who walk thru the crowd. Once the sky was dark we could see the city lights and the red rocks were lit up with moving spotlights. It was magical! Not to mention the concert sounded amazing!!
