The RiverWalk is a total of 3 miles round trip and takes you thru downtown Naperville and naturally wooded areas near the Dupage river. Great walk on a sunny day.

We were impressed by the formal walkway, landscaping, natural setting which looked handicapped accessible. We wished we had something so community-minded in our home town! Lots of places to sit, people watch, eat or just enjoy nature. You could rent kayaks, paddle boats or swim in a huge outdoor swimming area.

Sit and relax, walk and see so much, nature is a delight. You are right in the Downtown area to do anything else you want. It's a place where something is different every day.

It is my familys favorite place to go take a stroll or shop. Beautiful scenery and awesome fountain and paddle boats. Quaint book store, Anderson's. Great atmosphere and amazing for photographs.

The Riverwalk is the gem of Naperville. It's outdoor space is unrivaled in the burbs. We come and walk around many times a year.

The Naperville Riverwalk is beautiful. There's a walking path along the river, sidewalks above, and several covered bridges. This is a highlight of Naperville and there are many restaurants/bars located on the Riverwalk. It's also a beautiful venue for wedding photos

Very pretty and peaceful place to walk around. You can go from the riverwalk to downtown Naperville. There are so many stores and restaurants around the river.

What a nice walk and in the middle of the city, no less!! The sounds of the water and ducks is very peaceful. It was a beautiful fall day, perfect for a walk.

Nice way of spending your day, walking along the river which goes through downtown Naperville, watching the geese and ducks and being able to walk to eateries and shops

Honestly, this is the type of stuff that makes Naperville such a great place to visit or live. This area along the river offers great time with family or friends. Get out and enjoy it!

We go to the Riverwalk often through all the years we've lived in Naperville, and Sunday we had a professional photographer take our family portrait there. Not easy with 16 plus a dog! But the scenery is gorgeous, with trees turning colors. I look forward to our new family pictures hanging in our home, a permanent reminder of the beautiful Riverwalk and how much our family enjoys being there.

Really enjoyed the walk along the river and nearby vistas. The paths are easy to navigate, the view and sound of the water restful and peaceful.

We stayed in downtown Naperville at the Hotel Indigo on the riverwalk. There is a bridge by the hotel that crosses the river into the shopping area. The riverwalk has sidewalks on both sides down by the water and several people were out walking in the evening. This is a very pretty area. Great picture opportunities along the water. I noticed that our hotel charged us a $10 riverwalk fee each night so I guess the city is still paying for it.

The riverwalk is wonderful and very shaded on a hot day. We say a great deal of wildlife and enjoyed our time.

It always seems like something is going on somewhere. You can always head into the down area and find a wide selection of restaurants and specialty shops. You can walk for several miles up and down the river in a relaxing environment.

While walking downtown Naperville, you can't miss this place. We walked at this place in the morning and in the evening too.Nice place to walk. You can sit at one place and enjoy surroundings.

Good walking area, especially if you do not excel at walking uneven terrain trails because most is paved. Some stairs but it's easy navigation and due to the water, we stayed on the banks and that required no stairs. You could do this if you have some moderate mobility issues or use a walking assistive device. Easy parking. Water was high so take a note of that if there has been flooding. Picturesque and it's a great place for group photos. Covered bridge is worth seeing. Many stores and restaurants along the way. Places to sit. Recommend.

Went to college at North Central - long ago. The way they have fixed up the area along the river and made a walk with seating & restaurants there is great. take it in on a warm summer night.

We enjoyed strolling along the River and crossing over the covered bridge after eating lunch downtown. It is a big asset to the downtown.

Riverwalk offers a pleasant walk along the river and is close to downtown Naperville. During the summer you can find local bands and other various activities.

When you’re in Naperville, this is a must for a laid back and leisurely time. You’ll find locals and out of towners taking the downtown area in. There is a beautiful paver path to walk on along the river. You’ll see nature’s beauty, Centennial Beach, the Carillon, Rotary Hill, fountains, shops, restaurants, bridges and various statues along the way. Great people watching for the young and old - day and night. During summertime, you may see kayakers. It’s pet friendly with water fountains and poop bag stations. No roller blading, skateboards or bikes or feeding ducks allowed. If you’re lucky, you can catch live entertainment- some planned by the City of Naperville and some random music-loving musicians.

very cool! naperville did a great job. its quiet and peaceful . great location with the walk and shops

I am a resident of Naperville but had not been downtown on a weekend, in a while. I was pleasantly surprised to see a vibrant and festive night scene. Beauty of the river walk was only enhanced to see many people strolling or enjoying the outdoor seatings at multiple restaurants. One of them had a band playing that added to the festivities. We enjoyed a wonderful evening on teh Riverwalk.

The river walk is a great place to take a stroll with your special someone, or your family. It runs right through the middle of downtown where there are so many great places to eat and shop. Beautiful photo ops too!

The Naperville Riverwalk is a wonderful area bringing you through downtown Naperville, along the river, past parks, fountains, activities, shops, etc. Throughout the year the scenery changes as new plants and flowers are blooming and bursting with color. There are multitudes of activities happening during the summer to engage people of all ages from puppet shows, to music, to the carillon tower concerts.

Well maintained with benches for sitting along the trail. This walking/running trail provides shady and is very scenic along the river. Great to use when visiting Naperville to get some fresh air and exercise.

The Riverwalk offers a nice stroll if you are downtown. Quite popular when the weather is nice. I wouldn’t go out of my way for it but if you are near it is pleasant.

Great little area with lots of shops, restaurants, and pubs. Something to do every night of the week.

Very neat place to visit. The downtown area has lots of shops and places to eat as well as the Riverwalk which was a beautiful view.

So nice to take a causal walk anytime of year. So nicely landscaped, always some ducks swimming in the river. Kids playing adults enjoying the day. Naperville did a great job putting this together. If you have never been give it a try.

Love to go on the river walk. My husband and our dog loves to walk here. Beautiful area and great people. Christmas lights are the best

This is a nice walk along the river. Especially in the summer. Lots of greenery, places to sit and relax, watch the ducks or have a nice stroll with the dog or kids.

We have been walking on the Riverwalk since it was built to honor the Naperville Sesquicentennial in 1983 and have watched the many changes, looks and expansions in the last 35 years. It is a very pleasant way to spend and afternoon whether it be a walk, snack, paddle boat ride or concert. I really enjoy the freedom documents on the outside wall at City Hall

A fun way to explore a city near by, or on vacation. They are in may states, just check the website for an adventure that is a cross between a scavenger hunt and the amazing race! Answer questions to get your next clue! Loved it

We love grabbing food, coffee or ice cream in DT Naperville and then heading to the Riverwalk afterwards. It is a perfect place for families, but if you have a stroller or little ones you will want to stay on the top level of the walk, as strollers can't go all the way on the lower level. The walk is long, and passes by a nice park if you would like to stop and play!

A nice walking path in downtown Naperville. We parked on Jackson Ave accross from the Egg Harbor Cafe. Had breakfast at the cafe and then took a walk around the path. Beautiful fall color. Lots of benches to stop an chat. There is a paddle boat rental on the path if you go earlier in the year. If you happen to be in the area, downtown Naperville and the Riverwalk would make a nice aftertoon.

Enjoy activities, restaurants, and shops across from the Riverwalk in the center of Naperville. You can access Centennial Beach and the paddle boat pond or visit the award winning library or North Central College. It is a must do while in this vibrant community.

If you haven't walked the Naperville Riverwalk, or haven't lately, it's a must when you're in the area. We live ten minutes from the Riverwalk and go for walks 3-4 times/week in good weather. Recently a hotel and several new restaurants have opened on the Riverwalk. There are a couple covered bridges, a Carillon tower that chimes on the hour as well as has summer recitals on Tuesday evenings in the summer. The Riverwalk is a great place to have dinner at one of the local restaurants and or get some ice cream and go for a stroll. There are benches throughout as well as a couple fountains to sit by and enjoy. Musical concerts are held on the Riverwalk on various days as well. Can't say enough!

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk itself is pristine and very well taken care of. The Riverwalk is appropriate for families with young children, couples, and even to go solo to relax with a good book. It is beautiful and very relaxing. I definitely recommend anyone in the Naperville area to take a stroll around the Riverwalk.

Just a beautiful day to walk the river walk. Paddle boats seemed sort of hokey at first but we really had so much fun tooling around the quarry. The time seemed to go by so fast!

We were very impressed with Centennial Park and its Riverwalk. The walking trails were well maintained, and provided a beautiful environment for a two hour walk. We could tell residents also enjoyed it as the park was packed, with a lot of walkers. Well worth the visit.

If you need to get some walking id than this is the place. Great little stroll and lots to see. Just people watching is great. Also a wonderful place to take engagement photos or wedding photos. Some have even gotten married in the amphitheater

One of the most beautiful downtown areas I've ever seen! Great place to enjoy the scenery or people watch.

A beautiful walk along the river. You can walk for miles. Peaceful and relaxing. Plenty of places to sit and view scenery. Fountains and artworks along the paths. Near by restaurants on the river. Concerts during the summer as well as an art fair.

This walk doesn't require any special effort. It's a nice little stroll, especially if you have older people to walk with. My grandparents walked with me, and there was no complaining since the town was so close and we were able to get drinks soon after finishing our walk. Speaking from experience, it's also a nice place for nature and model photography.

A nice place to take a leisurely stroll after enjoying a lunch or dinner. Nice for couples, or also family friendly

Beautifully landscaped with multiple varieties of flowers, shrubs and fountains. Brickpaver paths meander along the DuPage River. There is nothing more to say than WOW!

Naperville just has it together and the Riverwalk is another gem in their crown. Water features, Statues, Wildlife. A relaxing safe stroll.

We walk the river walk in Naperville as both a form of exercise and entertainment. We have enjoyed the new shops, wine tasting and restaurants. This is a great family or solo experience. Recommend it to both visitors and residents.

Spend an enchanting evening after the sun sets walking along the Riverwalk in Naperville, IL. The path is brick-paved and seems like a scene from a romantic movie. The walking path lamps are unique and provide a unique glow. Hold your lovers hand as you stand on one of the wood bridges and watch the reflection of the moonlight as you look at the DuPage River. Look into your lovers eyes and kiss her and tell her you love her. Amazing

I love this walk, so peaceful and the scenery is beautiful. Grab a coffee or an ice cream and take the family for an easy stroll along the river. We go as often as we can.

The Naperville riverwalk is a wonderful gem in the suburbs ! There is the carillon bells, paddle boats, fountains and lots of scenery !! It’s a great place to bring kids, pets, friends, etc! Not to mention a great way to get some exercise in !

We walked the riverwalk for over an hour on this past Thursday afternoon. It was so beautiful! What a relaxing way to end our busy day! What a gem in the middle of the city! The pool area was unbelievable!

The Riverwalk is a wonderful way to get some exercise as well as see some of the sights in Naperville. The tribute to 911 victims is especially well done. Stop at the visitors center and pick up a map for more information about the different stops along the walk.

We always love running and/or walking on the Riverwalk paths. Downtown Naperville is a great place. The covered bridges add charm, the carillon playing on the hour, the variety of activities surrounding the riverwalk - all fun activities for children and adults alike.

We were hoping for snow and just got the cold, cold weather. It is a very nice set up and hope to see it again when it is above freezing.

We had a few hours before we had to head to the airport, so we decided to spend some time here. I wish we would have had more time. This place is beautiful, a great place to take a relaxing walk/stroll. We didn't have time to rent paddle boats, but many other did, and it sure looked fun! We were there on a Saturday, but there was still plenty of parking. I would love to visit this place again with more time to enjoy it!

The Riverwalk is a wonderful place to just stroll, walk or run. I've lived in Naperville for a long time and have watched it's formation and continued improvements. It is well maintained year around. A friend and I recently enjoyed sitting on the patio of the new Riverwalk Cafe while having a delicious hummus and chips appetizer and a glass of wine.

Naperville Riverwalk is a gem of a place for families. The path along the West Branch of the DuPage River is brick-lined and is quite shaded from riparian trees. It is a pedestrian only path where biking is not allowed. The 1.7 mile long path can be made longer equally nice circuitous paths crossing the river at several places over beautiful bridges. There are plenty of places to sit and view scenery of river flow, fountains and artworks. There is an upper brick, and a lower narrower concrete walk closer to the river.
The Riverwalk is highlighted with exceptional amenities and attractions along its path. Some of the larger features are: Dandelion Fountain, Paddleboat Quarry, Millennium Carilllon (in Moser Tower), Centennial Beach (was closed for renovation), and covered bridges. Paddleboats are available for rent in the summer at the Quarry Lake.
Naperville Riverwalk is a beautiful downtown area with parks, history, restaurants, businesses, upscale homes, shopping, and nightlife. The Riverwalk has something for everyone, and is place worthy of repeat visits.

Riverwalk was steps out of our hotel. We decided to take it after eating dinner and it was worth it. There happened to be a musical event that night by School of Rock which was enjoyable too. Water had no smell and we actually walked to this cute "pond" that had paddle boats to rent during the day. Water was like glass and area serene.

Love what they have done to the downtown Naperville area. The River Walk rocks! Great for taking a peaceful walk in the sunshine and enjoying life's little pleasures. Great scenary.

We have been here many times and have taken out of town visitors here as well. No matter which season it is the Riverwalk provides a tranquil experience. Skateboards and such are prohibited and, therefore, not a nuisance. The river attracts fish and fowl. The landscaping is excellent and the trail is dotted with markers, statues and memorials. A "don't miss" experience in Chicago's western suburbs.

Very nice and pleasent walk along the rivers edge meandering through the park. Work ongoing to make it a continuous loop. Northside could do with a bit more TLC.

It is a lovely walk in a lovely town, with adorable wildlife and nice views, but walking along the river gets pretty narrow with crowds, and with no guard or handrails, you might take an unexpected dip.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RIVERWALK.
It's very friendly. Full of Quaint Shops.
Two Ice cream parlors. Great Sidewalk seating. The walkway is absolutely Stunning. Lots of OOHS & Aaahs.
Very inviting for many happy returns

The 2 of us were looking to have a quite morning walk and we found this place based on hotel recommendation. We found free municipal parking lot and walked across the street to find this beautiful, lush park. Immediately we noticed how friendly the other walkers were towards us. We found lots of little walking paths along the way and was pleasantly surprised at all the care that was taken to maintain this place.

There was an art show by the river walk today. There was several concerts also. We walked to the Milenium Carillion - what a miraculous structure - we listened to the concert at 12pm on Saturday - along the river, the magestic trees, the chiimpunks...wonderful!

I found this quite by chance. Naperville is a very busy town. so the river walk is a good place to take a walk, and feel like you are getting back to a slower pace.

Loved walking along the river. Beautiful. So many activities and people. Beautiful lighting and fountains. Lots of places to stop and take a break.

The Riverwalk was very relaxing and well maintained. There were several events held there one of which was an art show with vendors from all over the country. We also visited the Bell Tower located near the end of the walk ways. There are a lot of shoppes and restaurants very close to the River Walk.

Lovely walks along this small river are fun in every season. Summer brings tons of young people, visitors and a fun vibe. Spring and fall you will see the trees changing and lots of dogs and their walkers and if you have the chance to walk it during a snowstorm it's the best. No one is out and it's perfect solitude and nature

Great meeting place and once in the Naperville downtown lots of shops and restaurants to visit and enjoy family time young and old.

I was disappointed that the bridge was blocked off so that people couldn't go to the other side. I expected there to be more storefronts. There was a wide distance between storefronts.

Really enjoyed seeing the riverwalk in the morning while walking. Walked end to end and really appreciate the commitment and effort into the creation of the riverwalk. Congratulations!!

Walk off the cals along the river. We enjoy the stroll while pep and dog watching after a nice meal downtown.

The riverwalk extends along a branch of the DuPage River. You can walk along the sides and watch the ducks and just relax. There is a concert area & there is an area you can rent pedal boats to go out on the water. A nice way to spend some time after shopping in the adjacent downtown.

I am a fan (dare I say connoisseur) of chappati. Round, soft, crunchy, chewy, expired, fresh—Naperville bundles all of them together. The representation is unparalleled. From Mr. Patel, I bought a pack of 25.
As someone who grew up in a fairly homogenous community in the southern part of the United States, I was shocked, albeit refreshed, by Naperville’s composition.
Round chappati: at the Mall of India, I found a store dedicated solely to selling Indian gold jewelry and another selling plushies of Lord Ganesha. Modernity and tradition meet.
Soft chappati: at Honest Cafe, while you tested my spice tolerance (even after requesting mild), the kind service and welcoming company of so many brethren (Indians) dining beside us was simply transcendent (not to mention the solid mango lassi).
Crunchy chappati: running into the kind yet crunchy young gentlemen who dined next to us at Honest just minutes later when we arrived at the river walk garage next to Hotel Indigo, we were greeted with a hearty “Jai Hind!” As they drove away in their lime green Porsche SUV, I knew in my soul we had arrived.
Chewy chappati: Martin Luther King Jr. only dreamt of what I saw in the park near the riverwalk. Kids of all nationalities, denominations, and ages played as one collective identity: Napervillian. Friendships formed by mere proximity—without barriers separating them, families could comfortably don their cultural attire and the next generation took no notice. This was normal.
Expired chappati: Paneer masala pizza in hand (s/o to the one dude who runs the entire operation single-handedly), I saw how “out with the old and in with the new” rid a neighborhood of their old leadership to make way for a cohort of first generation immigrants setting the course for the future of the homeowner’s association.
Fresh chappati: new to me, the density and diversity of one suburban center shed new light on what it means to live in America. I found an Indian biker gang, Indian Malia Obama, all sorts of things with such a large sample size. But the insight to be had is that Naperville wholly embraces their diversity, no reservations. It defines the city, not devalues.
Jamaica Plains, Edison—they are checkers to Naperville’s chess. I cannot wait to return (for my next pack of chappati, of course). Checkmate and Jai Hind.

We brought our team here Friday night and the girls loved it! We walked around the river, saw ducks and ducklings, rolled down hills at a park and sang and danced with a street performer...our teenage girls said this was the best team event EVER!!! Beautiful area!

If you have time and you are in Naperville, this is totally a relaxing thing to do. It winds through the downtown core out both sides along the river. lovely.

I lived in Naperville for about 14 years, so enjoying the River Walk was usually a weekly experience. We moved to this beautiful city west of Chicago because of the River Walk and downtown. I recently had family that was visiting the River Walk in San Antonio and my first reaction was to invite them up to Chicagoland to experience the beautiful landscaping, river and downtown Naperville in our version. Quiet paths, the ringing of the carillon, the sound of running water, the community of people who are always enjoying the paths, and all the facilities that make the River Walk an attraction unto itself. Have a picnic, get some exercise along the miles of paved trails along the river, stop and eat at one of the many food establishments, take a paddle boat ride, or just sit and listen to the fountains. It is rest for your soul in an otherwise busy world.

This is a great place to walk. They keep it pretty clear even when it snows. Great for taking the dog. Been going here for 24 years

WOW any town would love to have this beautiful area to walk and enjoy the out doors! This was our first time and we finitely will be back again and possibly rent boats.

I was able to get up and get a few miles on the Riverwalk path. It's paved, and people are very considerate for runners and walkers.

The Riverwalk is a nice place to stroll for a little bit, but not a place you hang out for hours. Hopefully as the city grows they'll realize the gem they have and add some permanent structures like coffee shops, cafes, etc to the route. Otherwise if your time is limited to visit, you're better off exploring the city or Naper Settlement.

Beautiful scenery, you can walk, sit or just enjoy the view. The river is very peaceful. After enjoying dinner at one of the many restaurants in the area, a walk is just perfect.

It is a most wonderful place to take a walk. But it is more than a promenade, it also has a "beach" , a huge pool, paddle boats, a 911 memorial display, sculptures, a bell tower, and outdoor concert areas. If you are lucky like us, you even ran into the Du Page Symphany Orchestra performing "Christmas in July" songs. It's wonderful!

Paved and pleasant short stroll. Good for a stretch of the legs but not a destination in itself. If you go do so in good weather and hope there is a band performance along the way.

The Naperville Riverwalk is a relaxing, maintained walk. It is adjacent to the downtown Naperville area. Shopping and restaurants aren’t far away.

Beautiful walking area with loads of cool things to see and do. There is an awesome beach/pool area that is discounted in afternoons. There is an observation tower that we wish we would have had time to climb. This area is also close to downtown restaurants.

It is the Riverwalk that prompted me to buy our house in Naperville, IL when relocating from out of state. Beautiful in any season. Nice place to walk and people watch. Plenty of restaurants and shops nearby.

OK, I've been to the famed San Antonio Riverwalk. To Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York, and many others. Each has its own charm . . . and its own problems like crowds, crime, cost, and parking. My favorite of them all? Naperville.
It's not the commercial affair of other cities (although there are are plenty of thriving businesses and restaurants within a couple blocks). No, it's a peaceful river flowing through a charming town. The city of Naperville has gone to great lengths to beautify the river with a variety of bridges, pathways, and sculptures. At the extreme ends of the riverwalk and at a few places along the way, you can see how the river appears in its natural state and how much work was needed to incorporate it into downtown.
Parking is easy after 5:00 (park for free at the municipal building). Pathways are uneven and inconsistent, but that adds to the charm. While there, check out the Carillon, the local sculptures (especially Dick Tracy), Centennial Pool, and even ride a Tuk Tuk. If you want a good hike, continue along the trails and venture into neighboring parks along the Du Page river.
Every city should look to Naperville for inspiration on how to draw people downtown. Well done.

Naperville has a beautiful brick Riverwalk in their downtown area. You can walk a mile in either direction from downtown. This is an easy walk that is handicap friendly, for those with walkers or wheelchairs. There is also a variety of shops and restaurants in the area.

Walked the riverwalk multiple times during our visit and highly recommend it. Easy to see how the citizens of Naperville are proud of what their city offers. If I lived in the Chicago area I don't know how you could do better than Naperville.

The riverwalk in Naperville Il has always been a great spot to take in a beautiful fall or summer day. It is actually beautiful in winter months also but especially beautiful in the warmer months. Take a day to walk and relax and feed the ducks than walk downtown for some great shopping and outstanding food.

The West Branch of the Dupage River is flanked on both sides by The Riverwalk of vibrant Downtown Naperville. Walking the Riverwalk provides one with a variety of things to "take in" along the way including sidewalk musicians, dogs/dog walkers, monuments, fountains and the city's popular Centenial Beach public swimming area. It also connects visitors to many of the city's popular dining/entertainment options and parking. The new Water Street District just off the Riverwalk - south side - has very popular restaurants with outdoor seating overlooking the Walk and River and is across the street from Naperville's only downtown lodging at Hotel Indigo. A lot of annual local events including Last Fling and various marathons evolve around the Riverwalks signature location.

The river flows slowly by the walk. Its pleasant with an abundance of flowers. You can take a look at the restaurants that line the riverwalk. We took a stroll after dinner. They keep the river looking sharp. We noticed a workman the next morning patrolling the river as he raked up sticks and trash from the water into his boat.

One of the best parts of Naperville is the Riverwalk! So beautiful and such a peaceful walk or run. Surrounded by nature, you forget you are in a busy town. You can also try the paddle boats or even kayak down the river. While you are there, you can stop at the park or fountain, shop at a variety of stores and Naperville offers an amazing selection of restaurants for great food and drinks. There is something for everyone - all ages.

This was our second time to the Riverwalk. We did not do the kayaks or paddleboats but it is something I will keep in mind. We stayed at the Hotel Indigo and just walked the Riverwalk and watched the ducks etc. Really enjoyed the area.

As it curves thru downtown Naperville you can almost forget you are in a city of 140,000. Peace, quiet abound in it's farther reaches; family fun closer. There's pedal boats and Centennial pool, a cafe, the Carillon all within steps of college city where restaurants and shops abound. Grab a pizza at Lou Malnati's and a book from Anderson's and you are all set.

Great surprise— great restaurants, great shopping, great walking, and great hotel. Had a meeting in town and wanted somewhere where I could walk around and grab a bite to eat. Bonus had great shopping too. Hotel Indigo is a fun upbeat hotel.

Walking the riverfront, you feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the streets just feet away. The quarry swimming hole is just off of the riverwalk as well. Great shopping and restaurants nearby on the eastern side of the Riverwalk to. Simply put: You need to go and experience a summer evening in Naperville, on the Riverwalk.

We stroll here frequently. It is a very nice space to take a walk before or after eating at the nearby restaurants in downtown Naperville.

Amazing place to go . It’s a lovely place round the year. Enjoyed the lush green grass in summers and the fall colors too.

Lovely setting along the West Branch of the DuPage River. Although near the center of Naperville, the Riverwalk allows you to step away from commercialism and enjoy a peaceful atmosphere. Great for dog walking; our pooch enjoys seeing other dogs and greeting children. Great fun!

Great place to walk with family....or that special someone! So much to do and see. Or just sit and people watch!

Very nice place to take in the River and the downtown area in Naperville. Scenic and relaxing.Nice place for pictures

Just stunning at every turn! The shops on and around the riverwalk are just charming. So many options for lunch or dinner also. Our choice, Lou Malnati's. Delicious!

Walking along the Naperville Riverwalk is very peaceful and picturesque. Along the riverwalk you will find restaurants, libraries, parks, fountains, pools and ponds to name just a few. Many people are walking their dogs or just going out for an evening stroll. It is all what you make it but it sure is beautiful!

Walked by the riverwalk when family was in town. Very relaxing for adults and the kids enjoyed it too.

Downtown Naperville and the Riverwalk has changed a lot since I last time I was living there. They seem to have more shops and restaurants, as well as hotels in the area. It is a nice place to take a walk, go paddle boating, dine with friends and family or sit and have coffee and dessert. They also have some nice stores to shop at like Anthropologie, William Sonoma, Anderson's book shop and many more. They have events and activities throughout the year there as well.

Beautiful walking paths, great shops and restaurants. We stayed at the Indigo hotel and ate at Empire. Great time with the wife

Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the walk. There are plenty of restaurants along the walk. It is also within walking distance to downtown Naperville, North Central College, many shops, restaurants, and bars. You can fish from the walk too. Very enjoyable.

Just a nice location to walk around and explore Naperville. You can learn a lot about the town just by walking up and down the river. Nicely lit, lots of benches for seating, and plenty to explore (bell tower, artwork, statues). Great to walk off your meal after dinner too.

If you're visiting Naperville, IL or looking for a scenic place for a photography shoot. This spot should definitely be on your to do list. From the nature watching to the people watching its always buzzing with activity. You may gaze at the ducks in the river, watch the people in the paddle boats, stumble unto a wedding photo shoot, or just pretend you were Tom Sawyer and dream a little. If you enjoy just getting out this walk is for you! Each time you go, you'll find something different.

We loved walking along the water! The river walk is done very well, there is nothing like a downtown with a river running through it!

Great area for everyone. Enjoy shopping, eating ranging from munchies to fine dining, entertainment or just a little peace and quiet sitting by the river.

Beautiful with paved walkways, a bell tower, sculptures, paddle boats, a huge pool and beach. Very peaceful. One block from Main St with restaurants & shops.

Our team visited downtown Naperville following a conference and it is a nice little town. Good variety of shops, good and coffee :) ...not to mention ice cream and gelato :) True, the actual river walk was flooded up to the sidewalk along the river so we couldn't go there, but we enjoyed a nice wooden bridge and shops. Nice place to wander and stay a while. I felt safe even after dark.

I love the Riverwalk! It's prefect for a cool summer evening stroll... and we always see wildlife up close- raccoons, opossums, turtles. I love the murals near the Water Street Development and the 9/11 tribute area. It's a great place to grab a drink and a bite to eat too.

I moved from Naperville four years ago and come back for a friend and family visit each summer.
The number one outing is strolling the River Walk and having dinner .
A shopping haven as well
So many restaurants to chose from!!!
A lively fun place for everyone.
The new hotel and restaurants along the river are a wonderful addition!!

We went walking around the river walk after brunch. It was a beautiful day out- about 80 degrees. There were so many people out! By 12noon- the street parking & parking garages were full. there were people walking and riding bikes, and taking pictures, and sitting around, and kayaking in the river. There was lots going on. We did some shopping, stopped for coffee and then ice cream. We had a nice time. It's very beautiful there. *good thing we carpooled. 😊

Nice walking area with live music as we strolled at two different locations. There were nearby restaurants after we finished on the paddle boats and kayaks that we rented. So pretty!

Naperville downtown is a very nice, it has a lot of shops, restaurants. You can take a walk around the river and enjoy and relax.

So relaxing. Walk along the river and enjoy your day. I have even walked end to end. Soak up the sun stop by the cafe. There are even little self propelled little boats. What a pleasure.

Born and raised in Naperville - Back in the 60's and 70's this river was a dumping ground. The city has always been forward thinking and created this beautiful park. The downtown portion is heavily traveled and great for people watching. Both sides of the river are developed. Great for strolls, dog walking, date night and exercise. Adventure out to the far ends to get a little peace and quite.

Such an enjoyable day. The river walk is beautiful with many attractions, murals, statues, Christmas decor along the way. The bell tower was under construction so we will have to make another stop next time we are in the area.

The river walk provides excellent views of Naperville. It links the city with all attractions like the down town area, the new hotel, the carillon, quarry, centennial beach, naper settlement and of course te library.

Beautiful area I wish we could have spent a bit more time in. Shops , restaurants , lots to see and do and you could spend hours enjoying the area!!!

The Naperville river walk is a beautiful area to walk and take in the hustle and bustle of the busy town. You can walk along both sides. The large quarry is something very unique that you can see in full use during the summer.

We walked the riverwalk after our dinner and it was absolutely gorgeous with a nice breeze in the air and people everywhere just walking or sitting and talking! I highly recommend!!

A beautiful downtown area with a path along the river, parks, history, restaurants, businesses, upscale homes, shopping, and nightlife. We only went for a walk and stopped for dinner. Wish we would have had time to take in more of the area. Highly recommend spending some time in the Riverwalk area.

What a place... lots of shops from chain to unique shops to upscale shops. Lots of places to eat. The river park and open spaces and parks are just beautiful

Beautiful and safe walk thorough a landscape filled with unique art, nature, and calm. Quiet. Check out the bell tower its amazing. Coffee shop, restrooms, beautiful fountain.
Sweet bridges. A must see. In the summer an outdoor natural quarry utilized for swimming is here. Enjoy

The Naperville river walk is so nice and is great for any occasion! You can even rent a paddle boat for the day and its cheap to! Great for taking pictures and great for dance pictures or even just nature pictures.

Nice to stroll along for a few minutes while you enjoy downtown in this wonderful community. We like to go back and forth as we travel each street.

Not a 'must see' but something to do while in Naperville.
Put on some good walking shoes. Take in the wildlife. Do some people watching. Check out the fountains, sculptures and bridges. And it's FREE.

went to the riverwalk to take pictures for a wedding and fell in love again. This is a beautiful place to go with family as a couple or just by yourself to think. if you are in the area and need a place to recharge that is the place to go.

Whenever we come to visit Naperville, we always stroll the riverwalk numerous times. It goes from Hillside Rd. (by Dunkin Donuts) all the way to Jefferson Ave. During the summer people can kayak down the Dupage. The Millenium Carillon, Centennial Beach, and the Water St. Restaurants are some of the main attractions along the river as well as all the beautiful wooden bridges that cross it. The hotel called the Hotel Indigo is located right along the Riverwalk, and provides amazing views.

Took my GF here for first time since she is from Chicago and wanted to know what's the hype about "river walk " Naperville, and showing her in person was the best answer. This city, this area- down town Naperville speaks for it's self.
There is not much I can say about it because everyone who goes here - knows it's pretty awesome! So, I welcome all to come check out River walk in Naperville and discover fun, calmness, excitement, all in one. NAPERVILLE VOTED ONE OF THE TOP 10 PLACES TO LIVE IN U.S A.
Need I go On?

I've lived in Naperville for a long time now and it's truly my go to place when I have friends or family in town. It's a great place to just relax, get exercise, hang with a group or just be by yourself. When I'm on vacation elsewhere, I look for places like the river walk and down town Naperville.

Yes, it is quite under-rated and it is FREE! There are always other people "around" and it is a very safe environment! It is geared for families, lovers, even SINGLE people!

We have been coming to Naperville for years and love the River Walk. We have breakfast at Egg Harbor and then cross the street for a walk. The river was at the highest we have ever seen it.

Love downtown Naperville. So many restaurants and shops and the Riverwalk. I never get tired of strolling along the Riverwalk in all the seasons to enjoy a little nature in a vibrant town.

I grew up in Naperville in the 1960s and the river was a smelly, dirty, mucky place to avoid. Now that the city planners have tried to make it a destination, and from the crowds, have been successful, I just don't get it. It is still a dirty river with trash thrown in and lots of slime. Maybe, not quite so smelly as before. Just because there is a sidewalk and the occasional fountain does not make it appealing. Amazing how so many can be fooled by the hype.

We went in the evening, and it was gorgeous! Well maintained, and just off of downtown Naperville there are shops, restaurants, and there were musicians playing. I loved the beautiful little bridge and fountain.

Beautiful, so peaceful in the mornings. You would not think you were in a city of over 100,000 people. Places to sit, fountains, wonderful places to eat. A great walk.

Walking on the riverwalk removes any stress you may have and lets you unwind and at most times you can get free parking nearby.

just a wonderful place to walk with family and friends -- lots of restaurants either on the Riverwalk or walking distance

Such a joy to realize we were staying right off the riverwalk in Naperville. Loved the pathway. Beautiful scenery. Wildlife! An enticing outdoor pool and beach area—wish we had more time! Such a gem in the city...

You can be in parks, a little natural woods, on the river of course and even get in the downtown area for the shops restaurants and artwork.

Charming town with lots to see - great shops, restaurants, and a lovely urban walk. This makes for a delightful afternoon excursion. There is everything here : restaurants, shops, ice cream places, riverwalk.

Though family did not stay with us, we had a family member come in to see the beautiful inside. She was totally blown away with the beauty of the hotel.

The river walk is nice however the water is very swamp like. I wish they can clean it up a little bit.

My wife and I had returned to Riverwalk for our third time. The food is good, view is great and after you can walk along the river path as so many people do. It really makes for a very nice evening.

This is a very nice area situated alongside Downtown Naperville...with many restaurants and shops nearby...Good place to go for a walk after dinner!

The Riverview walk is picturesque with interesting bridges, artwork, and flowers interspersed throughout. There are many places you can sit and contemplate, if you have the time. The walk is a refreshing break after eating/shopping in the adjacent downtown area

I have lived in Naperville for twenty four years. The Naperville Riverwalk is one of my favorite places. It is beautiful to walk or run no matter the season. You can take short walks with or without a stroller (no bikes or skateboards) or go end to end and back again which is 1.75 miles each way. It's peaceful hearing the river rushing at certain points. The flowers and plants are beautiful in season. In the spring there are often geese with their young to be seen. You can sit and rest on the many benches placed along the walk. You can walk a block or two away and get a hot or cold drink or ice cream to have along the river walk. You can actually eat outside with a view of the river at a few restaurants near the river walk. You can watch people swim at the beach or sled on the sled hill. You can paddleboat and grab a bite to eat or drink late spring to early fall. On Friday nights during the summer, local bands play there near the beautiful Dandelion Fountain. It's a must do and see! I go here often throughout the year! It's beautiful when it's snowing too!! You can get beautiful photos here mostly year round also!

This was just a walk I did by myself in the evening. I felt safe and needed some relaxing time after meetings. Enjoyed the scenery and walk.

Great community walking park with options for lounging, walking, kayaking, eating, and Pokemon socializing. There is a critical mass of Pokemon gyms, stops, and pokemon to attract players making it easy to participate in multiple raids. If not into Pokemon, the Carrillon and manicured nature are a pleasant atmosphere break.

My family has enjoyed strolling along this downtown Naperville attraction for over 18 years. We have seen it grow along in a very well planned and well-executed manner. It is scenic, with lots of trees, colorful foliage, and indigenous plant life bordering the walkway. You can view art and sculpture, a nearby park, and the charming Centennial Beach pool. It is calming and peaceful, but can also be active with paddle boating available, scheduled concerts, and events like the annual "Last Fling" carnival and food fest every Labor Day weekend. There is even a very affordable restaurant, the "Riverwalk Cafe" just over one of the bridges. it's a great find for casual food like burgers and salads, or just ice cream. There is always a diverse crowd of happy-go-lucky visitors of all ages taking in the charms and beauty of this destination. Dusk here can be breathtaking as colors subtly change and melt into the waterway views. There is something magical about communing with nature in a low key way, where words are not always required. We love the Riverwalk!

Great time. We was so surprised. A lot of ducks and was so quiet. Was warm outside. I recommend this please to everyone one. Specially who feel in love.

This riverwalk is pleasing to view and is close to shops and restaurants. There are places to sit and even some picnic tables.

Awesome! The location in the heart of downtown Naperville was very nice. Restaurants, shopping, entertainment was fantastic! Totally the experience!

This river is fed by a dam upstream about a mile and normally is not very deep. Good place to stroll to watch ducks and soak up sun when not shopping in downtown. Small parks and boating area nearby where you can rent boats in the summer. Naper Settlement (the first settler of this town) is located within easy walking distance.

I first moved to Naperville in 1973 and the Riverwalk did not exist. We used to swim in a quarry following a dirt path to get there.
Now the Riverwalk reminds us of San Antonio. A parklike setting with wonderful restaurants, statues and lots of things to do. It continues to get better each time we visit.

Walked around the area during a summer day. People seemed friendly and many people were out and about.

This is a beautiful place to walk in downtown Naperville, IL. The covered bridge is lovely and just across the bridge is the Statue of the famous character Dick Tracy. Its a nice thing to see. The walk goes down river and opens up into many park areas and family playgrounds to visit. Its a lovely place to stroll after shopping in downtown.

Relax, clear your mind, enjoy some tranquil time...
People watching always is entertaining...
So make sure to checkout the Riverwalk.

Enjoyable paved brick walkway along the West Branch of the Dupage River. This path winds through a children's playground near the west end, through downtown Naperville, and past North Central College on the East. Nicely maintained and easy to push children in a stroller although you will need to cross some streets in the downtown area. The Riverwalk goes past the Moser Millenium Carillon which is open to tours for a small fee a couple days a week. The trees are especially colorful in the fall and the 3 covered wooden foot bridges are also enjoyable to stop and listen to the river flowing over the rocks below.

We went there last week
Parking was conveniently available
The place is marvelous
Suitable for families with children and teens.
Beautiful sceneries.
This place you would want to visit again and again🌷

Experience of the area was great. Very peaceful place to spend time with the family and to just spend some time in nature.

The riverwalk is a very picturesque and relaxing experience. It is good for a short stroll after a long day especially in the warmer days. There are plenty of bridges and walkways with views of the bell tower etc. It is also a great place for family and fashion photoshoots as there are several great backdrops and settings to choose from.

The one or two mile walk is peaceful and beautiful. The flowers andwildlife are gorgeous. Congratulations, Naperville.

If you like crowds and dodging dog leashes and the land mines the dog owners neglect to pick up this is the place for you. Extremely busy on weekends, lots of traffic.

Quaint and beautiful! It totally enhanced the trip! There is so much available to do. There are countless restaurants and bars. You can stop for ice-cream. You can walk along the river. You can even kayak.

What a fun place to take a stroll - with the family or alone, any time of the day. There also are plenty of places to sit and watch. You might see some ducks.

What A wonderful place to take a walk or just chill. So much to take in we just love coming here for a moon light stroll.

This is a lively area with so much to do. Food, shopping, walking..it offers it here. They also have paddle boats and I seen kayakers too. Excellent place for walkers to get their steps in.

Who knew Naperville has a riverwalk to rival San Antonio? This town is an absolute gem, and the riverwalk only enhances it. Parking is free everywhere in Naperville, including the parking garages. The riverwalk is an incredibly beautiful place with a long pathway along it. Don't miss it!

I walk on the Riverwalk (from Jefferson to downtown) frequently during the spring, summer, and fall. It is peaceful, there is some wildlife, and the spring flowers are beautiful. I pass through a small forested area, past large playing fields, a picnic shelter, restrooms, a playground, volleyball courts, the Beach, and finally into the downtown area with fountains, flowers, and pavilions where people may be playing music or just hanging out with friends. It is a great asset to Naperville and it is free.

The sidewalk on the riverbank was quiet, even with a range of people using it. A playground area had a group of kids and parents. One area has some beautiful tiles representing parts of Naperville's history, donated by various families.

Any season is great to walk along the river....covered bridge..ducks..paddle boats. Area next to downtown and selection of restaurants.

The riverwalk, a recent addition to this wonderful town, offers a different view of Naperville; quiet, serene, reflective.

My husband and I decided to spend a day exploring Naperville, and the highlight was our stroll down the Riverwalk. It's a very beautiful, well-kept trail through quiet green areas and also busier areas near local businesses: it's got a little bit of everything. There's a nice covered bridge where we saw a wedding taking photographs. There are flowers and benches to sit on. The water itself seems pretty high and fast-moving. There are painted murals all along parts of it. What a wonderful place to have in your community.

A lovely walk with peaceful and interesting views of river, Centennial pool, and more. Felt very safe. Yummy restaurants are walking distance.

Went on a beautiful day with a friend, it was crowded, too many starts and interruptions. We thought it would be like other riverwalks but truly it was too narrow for more than 2 side by side.

Their is so much to do at the Naperville Riverwalk you can spend the whole day! Regardless of age you will find plenty of shopping, places to eat (all budgets) or just stroll down the path of the river. No matter what time of year it is pretty. Fall is my favorite. The Naper Settlement is walking distance as well. Really worth the trip. My favorite place is pizza at Lou Malnatie's!

We had several hours before our flight, so we took a walk around Naperville including the Riverwalk. The weather was nice - cloudy but not hot or rainy. Stopped for a gelato. Enjoyable.

Good place to stroll and kills some time. We walked around and found a place to eat. Good way to take I the downtown area.

Nicely done.
Commercial and hotel accommodations along with the design of the channel made the w Riverwalk memorable,I highly recommend going but expensive bring plenty of money.
Also visit the tower of America to look out over San Antone and of course visit the Alamo great museum.
Alot to see and do if you like to walk and explore.

Went fo a walk on a fall day. Very relaxing and not crowded. Some interesting murals. A few historical signs.

Take a nice stroll in very pleasant surroundings alongside the river. It's right past downtown with fountains and parks. Centennial Beach is nice in the summer. You can also rent paddleboats.

Family friendly and enjoyable riverwalk all year long, but best with good weather! the walk is a couple miles long and travels along not only the DuPage River, but along historical places like Centennial Beach, the VFW, Water Street development, and North Central College. Nature's highlight within the downtown area.

Love the river walk. Nice way to spend your time outside. Bridges and paths are well maintained. Close by to shops and restaurants.

This is a good place to take a walk and unwind. I recommend walking the top area, then going to the path along the river and under the covered bridge.

The Riverwalk in Naperville is a fantastic place to stroll along the river and see and hear the local sounds. The path is right next to the water so it provides a nice feeling of being riverside. There are not really any attractions along the Riverwalk, just a great place to walk and see some local nature and a couple of cool bridges along the way.

This was just a great place for a walk and refreshing time. We loved the river and the things to see and the covered bridges were awesome. I didn't know anything about It before we got here but would highly recommend!

Shade, wide paths,, lots to look at, downtown, lots of parking. Start at the Jefferson Avenue entrance and walk all the way down to Hillside.

A walk on a narrow concrete levee beside the small but clear DuPage river. There is also a longer walk on a wider path at the top of the bank.

Great place to walk the dog, exercise, and be with family and friends! Great for pictures too!
Eat breakfast, have lunch and shop till you drop!

Great location, especially in a Sunday afternoon. However, staff order takers weren't knowable about the grill menu. Even the cook wasn't clear about grill menu items. Not very inspiring especially since this was my first visit. My Chipotle Grilled Panini was luke warm, and didn't taste good luke warm. On the other hand, I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the indoor dining room. I'm planning on returning for checking out the grill menu items. Maybe I arrived at a bad time today. Anyway, more pep in the step may be helpful in convincing me that this is just a summer job🌞. We'll see.

Having lived in Naperville in the 70's it was nice to come back and see how it has grown up.
The Riverwalk is one of our must dos when we visit. The change seasons gives each visit a new feel.
The Riverwalk adds to the upscale feeling of the town.

A very pleasant relaxing afternoon stroll along the river. The area is kept very clean. Plenty of benches around, if you need to sit down. Bridges to cross. Nice garden shrubbery etc. We spotted a monument dedicated to people who lost their lives in 9/11. We found it to be moving experience.

Nice relatively short walk down both sides of the river with good views of Naperville and only a short distance to the town centre.

This was bigger and better than I expected. In spite of temperatures in the mid 90s, we really enjoyed strolling the path along the river. The path is not wide and it is not especially scenic, but we enjoyed seeing the variety of birds and a turtle sunning himself on a branch in the river. We also enjoyed the park and the shaded areas. There are few services, but all the downtown shops and restaurants are close by. The walk was not crowded and everyone along the way was friendly. Not a bad afternoon.

I grew up in Naperville (lived there 26 years), and have watched the Riverwalk grow from scratch. It is one of my most favorite places. Every time I return home, there is something new to discover. My children have also fallen in love with it. We love the fountains (especially the dandelion), the covered bridge, walking down by the river which I used raft down as a child, visiting the famous Riverwalk ducks, and just walking along looking at the statues, flowers and trees. You can rent paddle boats in the old quarry, and dine at numerous restaurants around the area. Naperville has really changed over the years, but the Riverwalk will always remain a constant treat.

Welcome to the crown jewel of Naperville, take a stroll along this magnificent walk along the DuPage River and be sure take a picture under one of the beautiful covered bridges along the way.

Just took a short stroll with friends; very pleasant. The swimming pool was huge and looked fun. The kayaking also looking very fun. Would like to try sometime. Plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. Parking a little tight.

We have lived in Naperville area for over 25 years... and still enjoy going to riverwalk. It is very refreshing in all seasons and for all ages. Over the years, it has really matured into a beautiful place. Love going here...

From a visitor's perspective it looks like the town finances are very healthy or the privately-funded group hired the right group to create this lovely, upscale outdoor place to enjoy walking casually by the water's edge. There were 3 beautiful fountains, a covered wooden bridge, and delightful ceramic tile artwork that recount the town's history by the water. And plenty of shopping and eateries for a day of hanging out with family and friends. Sunset from the wooden bridge offered a magical moment that my photo doesn't even do justice. Just as the Riverwalk lights switched on at twilight, brilliant rainbow colors painted the sky mirrored brilliantly on the water. Gor-gee-ous!

Part of a girls' getaway itinerary. A nice walk, only wide enough for one person in most spots. Covered bridges, scenic. Takes no more than an hour max. No shops/restaurants directly adjacent to river walk. Has areas to rent paddle boats. If there was handicap access/ramp, I didn't see it......steps required.

I have walked this walk many times, and have visited many of the places along side of it, and met a few folks there, too! It is even keep up during the winter snow! YES!

Naperville is a unique city and the Riverwalk is a key part of that. Stroll beautiful brick paved paths along the DuPage River that gently meanders through town and beyond. Beautiful in every season! After a short or long stroll ir walk you are within 1-4 blocks of a vibrant downtown area with top notch restaurants in any cuisine you can imagine!

The Riverwalk was calm and peaceful and so nice. It was great to see the trees and flowers along the way and listen to the birds.

We enjoyed a beautiful Winter walk. We met a dozen people or so and all were friendly Midwesterners who each greeted us. This doesn't happen everywhere one walks in the US.
Can't wait to revisit and see all the landscaping and fountains At their best.
Such a Jewel in Naperville to enjoy.

This is a destination if you live in the western suburbs. Beautiful river walkway in a park setting with covered bridges. Walk, run or just sit on a bench and enjoy people watching on the weekends or pure serenity during the week. Many fashionable stores and scrumptious eateries just a few blocks north of the Riverwalk. Spend the day at Centennial Beach or kayaking or fishing in the waters adjacent to the river.

It was such a beautiful day and the walk made it that much more beautiful. You could seriously be in London near the canals if you closed your eyes, which I wouldn't recommend because you might fall in the river.

The Naperville Park District really did a great job maintaining this place and the variety of activities it offers around the area both in the summer and winter months. With shopping stores around the area and the recent addition of a boutique hotel makes the area upscale and interestingly enough, people from neighboring cities and villages including Chicago visit this area. We've been living in Naperville for 26 years and I have seen this place go from from a nondescript village to an affluent community.

I was walking around Naperville when I came across the Riverwalk in downtown Naperville. I stood watching the river flow and felt myself relaxing noticing ducks floating down with the current. I listened to the river which was flowing fast due to recent rains that had fallen earlier that day and the more it babbled the more I felt myself watching the water wondering where it flowed, then I came across a map of the area and saw where it went. The peace and quiet there by the river was very nice but I realize that it needs to be shared by all. Quietly...

It was Sunday early evening and the temp around 70 degrees. Such a pleasant place to go on a walk along the river. It always reminds me of my visits out west when you hear the “rushing” water.
Families are out and some fly fishing on the river (by the looks, they had to be practicing their cast...I hope so).
A worthy designation for the young and old.

Beautiful walking path to catch up on friendships, shady trees with benches under to sit on and reminisce, restaurants and cafés everywhere... and friendly people who readily say hi 👋 to visitors, guests, friends, town mates; the Riverwalk is a must-see and experience when you visit Naperville.

We had a lovely walk at the Riverwalk. Beautiful, clean, very family friendly. Very popular on the weekend.

The place to visit in Naperville. Beautiful place to walk along dupage river. Seasonal swimming at centennial beach and paddle boat rentals. Lots of green space to relax and a nice playground, walking distance to all the shops and restaurants of downtown Naperville.

You have to take a stroll along the river walk. Enjoy nature and a tranquil walk. Great places to just sit and relax or enjoy watching the ducks play in the river

We really enjoyed walking along the river, the path is so clean and beautifully laid out. You can definitely tell the community put a lot of effort into this. A wonderful place for all ages!

There is so much to love in downtown Naperville - the restaurants , the bars , and the shops. But I always make a point to include a stroll ( or a jog) thru the Riverwslkj . So quiet, peaceful , and a lovely way to wrap up a day downtown .

A great place to stroll! Naperville is so lucky to have a great path on both sides of the river. Quaint bridges and a playground along the path.
Beautiful any time of year.

My wife and I enjoy visiting Naperville and taking a walk along the river. Great attraction for the city.

Peaceful area, nice area to go for a long stroll and clear your mind. Right in the downtown area close to food and drinking.

Naperville’s Riverwalk is a great place to walk off the calories from the many local restaurants. Don’t forget to stop and read the many plaques along the trail. There are a few sculptures and mosaics to view & the grounds are well kept and clean. Don’t forget your pets must be on a leash & to clean up after them. I did notice at least one dispenser for poo bags for pets if you forget to bring them. (Great idea!)

Real well done place; we liked the small amphitheater and the sidewalk just along the river. Not too far from dozens of places to go, either.

The Riverwalk in the downtown Naperville area is a great place to walk and wander. There are many shops, restaurants and sites to take in the area. Parking is available but a bit limited during busy times. There is no fee to enter tge Riverwalk though sone available activities require fees. There are many statues and works of art to take in the area including three statues on the RoadsideAmerica.com list: Dick Tracy, the Cat in the Hat (at the library) and Dark Naper. The Moser Tower and Millennium Carillon are visible along the Riverwalk. When we were there in July, there were decorated ducks all over this area.

Today little sunny and not to hot. Great day for the riverwalk. It's a small river but a nice place if you want to leave the busy streets

Very picturesque area by the river. Homey downtown feel to the neighborhood. Nice park benches for resting .

The Riverwalk in Naperville, along the DuPage River, was wonderful! Enjoyed by this senior couple on Saturday afternoon, there were many families, young folks, old folks...all happy and enjoying the area. Lots of eateries adjacent to or on the walk to accomodate anythi g you might be looking for. A beach area with picnic tables was being enjoyed by all ages. Right next to downtown Main Street, there were lots of neat shops to explore as well. Just a peaceful, lovely walk. We even watched a duck taking a bath.

Take a stroll along the Riverwalk. The views of the river are amazing. Take a water your and enjoy the scenery of the city or enjoy a cold drink and bite to eat along the Riverwalk. Don’t forget the camera!

We came here last weekend when it was beautiful out and it was such a nice relaxing walk. Everyone that was there with their children were extremely nice and knew that it's all for the kids to have fun and relax. You definitely want to either hold your child's hand if they're quite young or at least make sure that you keep a very good eye on them because there is no railing along the Riverwalk itself if you're down by the actual River. But we were perfectly fine because we had our son in the stroller and then when we took him out we just held his hand and it was really great. There were ducks and geese and fish it was really quite nice.

Based on San Antonio's wonderful Riverwalk Naperville's Riverwalk has a charm of it so no matter what season . Wintertime gives it a totally white perspective and it is magical . 😀 In early December and even boasts a really sweet Santa house which is always Busy with youngsters trying to get into see their favorite fat fellow ! The walk can be as long or as short as you want as there are ample exit points . Agreed and scenic way to get exercise and enjoy the beauty of nature even in the winter season !

One of my favorite paths to walk. With ample nearby parking, covered bridges, flowing waters, and a plethora of places to stop for a snack, it's the ideal location for a stroll.

A companion and i visited the Riverwalk, finding it a pleasant way to spend some subtly romantic time together. Coffee and ice cream located nearby allowed us to share a pleasant experience in a lively walk.

Family visiting from San Diego with their boys (10 & 13). We were looking for something quieter than downtown Chicago, but still fun for the boys. With great green spaces and walking paths, plus proximity to ice cream shops, we had a fabulous Sunday afternoon in Naperville.

Naperville River Walk is one of my favorite places to visit. The scenery walking and at bell towers is outstanding.

Although it wasn't part of the itinerary, it was a fun little deviation. It was a simple way to get in some more exploring. The walk was nice. It was great to get out to explore Chicago on one of its classic attractions. It was free, and a great way to see the city. The only drawback was that it was a bit littered.

My wife and I are residents of Naperville. We walk along the Riverwalk all the time. It winds along the west branch of the DuPage River. The scenery is very pretty. It runs directly through downtown Naperville. That put you very close to shopping and restaurants. When you are on the Riverwalk you need to stop at the Riverwalk Eatery. You can eat inside or outside. Beside food there are selections of wine and beer. While you were there take a paddle boat ride on the local lagoon.

Beautiful river front park with a covered bridge and picnic area too. Family friendly with lots of great outdoor space.

We were fortunate to have beautiful fall weather, so the walk was very pleasant and lots to see-- ducks on the river, covered bridge, park. Just a nice stroll around town. Well kept grounds throughout

I really enjoy spending time at the Naperville Riverwalk. It is a beautiful place to kayak, walk, play volleyball or relax on a beach. It is both family and pet friendly.

Take a leisurely stroll through this beautiful Riverwalk. Enjoy the river and waterfowl while relaxing your mind. Adjacent to downtown Naperville with its great shops and fantastic restaurants. Enjoy the outdoor cafes while people watching.

Always a great place to visit. It's beautiful with sculptures, water fountains and near restaurants. Highly recommend.

This was a great free adventure for a little one. The downtown area is filled with waterfalls, art, restaurant, Main Street shopping, spas, and candy stores. We even seen a doggie bakery. During our walk in the park we cake across a street musician, that captured the attention of most bystanders. I was shocked to see a newly built hotel in the center of the river walk. It’s looks like very natural addition to this vibrant area.

What hindsight the founders of Naperville must if had. They have taken a body of water and created a beautiful town around it

Very nice area to walk along the river and see the Vetrens Memorial and many other things related to early Naperville.

A friend and I visited the Riverwalk in Naperville on a beautiful spring night in April. It was quaint, peaceful & a good stretch of walking! There were paddle boats for use in the daytime & many paths to walk. The flowers were the best part- so many tulips & well taken care of! There were many covered bridges along the walk, which you don't see every day. Unique sculptures too, I included the cute dog and cat one below with my review.
I thought this riverwalk was so fun & pretty that if I ever need to move to Chicago, I would choose Naperville area!
There were such cute shops nearby, interesting restaurants... it was a great place to spend an evening.

Having a couple of hours to kill before meeting up with family my wife and I decided to visit the recommended Riverwalk. Having moved from NY to Florida years ago we really missed the Spring colors of the tulips, daffodils and flowering trees. We saw all these on our riverwalk. It was a bright sunny day temps in the 60's and we took a break at the Riverwalk Café and sat and watched the many couples and families passing by. There were children flying their kites in the open field between the café and the carillon tower. We were lucky to be there when the bells chimed BEAUTIFUL. At the café sandwiches, snacks, beer and wine can be purchased. As you stroll the riverwalk there were ducks and geese floating by in the river which made this seem more like a country rather than a city environment. Right near the café was a covered bridge over the river which was very photographic from a distance down the river. If you have a time while visiting Naperville take time to visit this wonderful setting.

When visiting family in Naperville, we always find time to walk along the Riverwalk. Truly a beautiful, well-planned enhancement to a lovely town. I highly recommend that you discover the Riverwalk, then have lunch or dinner at one of the many great restaurants downtown.

We love walking along the river. The paths are very well maintained. There are also lots of shade trees, a playground, skate park, volleyball area, concession stands and some restaurants. We decided to swim in the man made pool area. It starts as zero depth after a sand beach. There is a diving platform further out. Also there are many lifeguards on duty and they take the job seriously. It was very well managed. The beach house has showers and rest rooms. The only complaint we have is the price to enter the pool. Other than that it’s a wonderful area to spend the day.

Just nice, walking along the river, into the park and having just a nice time.
Duckies on the water will come by, if you have some bread with ya :-)

Great way to spend a few hours walking along the river. There is some public art displays along the way to view.

So nice to walk along the river path. Great for kids and adults alike. It is also a nice place to go running.

Nice place to take take a stroll. Canoeing and paddle boats in summer. Middle of downtown Naperville.

I absolutely love the Naperville Riverwalk! It's a wonderful place to take walks with young children. They love the ducks! It's also fun to stroll around with your significant other. Must see when in Naperville.

We can walk to the Riverwalk and often walk our dogs down to it and walk along the river banks and then circle back to our home.

Great walking path which is very scenic. Pace yourself the only disadvantage is you cannot ride your bike on this path. When the path stops at the light to continue on I think you can bike ride but through business and pool area bikes are not allowed. If anyone who has posted on this please verify if after a certain point you can bike.

Went with friends to visit the Riverwalk. What a way to spend a lovely afternoon. Naperville is a great little town and everyone was so friendly.

We went on a romantic walk after dinner downtown. There were several local musicians playing in different locations. There were plenty of people walking, but it didn’t feel crowded. It is also great with little kids to see the ducks and geese along the river.

I would highly recommend visiting this river walk. I highly enjoyed it and will return. There are restaurants and shops everywhere. The people there are super friendly and this location is very clean

The River Walk is a well-maintained and beautiful walkway along the DuPage River in Naperville. It's a very popular trail, and there are many restaurants and downtown attractions within walking distance.

Come with friends, or by yourself. It's a safe and lovely place to collect your thoughts. And lots of shops and cafes nearby to enjoy

One of the best spots in Naperville. Good for paddle boats,a nice walk, watching people and ducks and a great view from the sled hill or Carillon. Last Fling concerts in fall, ice hockey in the winter, swimming in the summer at Centennial beach quarry. Close to downtown restaurants. Now connects to North Central College with s peaceful nature walk.

The Riverwalk is a great place for a walk any time of year, and it's fun to see how it changes with the seasons. You can see some wildlife like herons, ducks, raccoons. People fish in the river, and it's always fun to see the fly fishers casting a line. There are lots of different cultural events and performances held along it, as well as a couple playgrounds, fountains, etc. It's a great part of the community.

Plenty of parking close to downtown Saint Charles. River boat rides. Plenty of festivals along river. Art scarecrow fest river front days miniature golf

The Riverwalk is a wonderful place to relax and people watch. There is so much to see from the ducks to the 911 memorial with an eternal flame.

We visited this place before, but on the 15th of May, we saw more areas that we didn't see the first time and parking spots. We really enjoyed ourselves, seen nice people, dogs, clean bathrooms, ducks, snakes, grill, seating branches, and a swimming area with sand for everyone to enjoy.

I love coming here to get some fresh air. The sights are wonderful, especially during the holidays when they have the bridge covered in lights!

Great place to stroll and enjoy the area. Riverwalk is well maintained and beautiful. Able to walk or sit and enjoy. Take the time and slow down and enjoy.

The views, the people watching and the carillon are enough to make it a worthwhile time, but there is so much more to see and experience

My best friend and I always went to the river walk to just walk and talk. It was definitely relaxing, and we always enjoyed it!

Been here on numerous occasions, however it gets kinda old seeing all the young kids hanging in groups smoking, doing drugs, etc. The area is saturated with the children of well to-do parents that don't know how to bring up their children.

If you are in the area, check it out. Take a nice relaxing stroll along the river. Check out all the shops. Get something yummy to eat. But stay away Friday/Saturday nights if you are older. Or just don't enjoy teens all over. Beautiful place.

We go to the Riverwalk in nice weather, but it would be nice anyway if you dressed properly.
We like to go there and it has a lot to see, there are restaurants in the area. Just a nice place to visit.
There is no charge, just an outdoor thing. There is parking in a large parking garage that is normally free.

Very nice I went with my daughter, husband and 3 year old grandson he loved it! Had fun watching the ducks and fish, and just missed a puppet show we were a little pressed for time so didn't get a chance to see when they have another one! Very pretty painted hearts around the area just very nice in general with a lot of restaurants and shops.

It's so breathtaking to take a afternoon walk down by the river walk friendly people to chat, have a bite to eat, delicious ice cream shop! Loved it

The Naperville Riverwalk is a beautiful place to spend time with family, friends, dogs😃Every season has it's own special charm. I highly recommend exploring the miles of walking paths and experiencing what nature has to offer!

Nice place to walk and contemplate next steps in life. I have taken many a photo here alone and with groups.

I love the river walk. It's peaceful in the mornings, pet friendly and when the flowers are in bloom, it smells amazing! They really did a great job designing this place.

I grew up in Naperville, long before the Riverwalk existed. It is one of the places that has become dear to me. On this visit, the DuPage River was very high, giving the Riverwalk a very different character.
When the river is behaving itself, The Riverwalk provides a beautiful place to enjoy nature, gather, and appreciate the historical references along the way.

Great place to walk, especially when it's a nice night out. Downtown Naperville is awesome at night time, and take your friends/family/significant other here..they will have a good time. There are places to stop, sit and chat about whatever is going on in your life. Great scenery, and a fun time. 5/5

Love coming here for a little date night or just to hang out and read a book on a nice day. So, so many food and shopping options nearby. Grateful to have this so close!

Absolutely love the riverwalk-
There is an upper brick, lower concrete walk or jog you can take, I do most days along the river-
Things to see, plants, flowers, fish, ducks, kayakers, diverse families, water fountains, covered bridges, occasional snakes, frogs, a solo heron.
Great place for subrises or sunsets-
No bikes allowed-
It is lit so you can even walk at dusk-
Lots of people of all ages, babies in strollers, on it-
Early am more quiet and serene-
There is a brand new playground west of the quarry.
Clean bathrooms, accessibility to lots of restaurants.
Paddleboats, kayaks for rent May to September plus a riverwalk cafe in season near rotary hill. You can walk up to the top of the Carilllon and see the entire area from above during certain weekend hours as well.

The river walk is a lovely way to spend an evening with someone special. All the charm of the historic downtown Naperville surrounds you. If there is anything wrong it's that it's not long enough.

A great view of a great city.A wonderful place to call home.Close to restaurants and shopping and even the snow hill!

we took an evening stroll along the riverwalk after a great meal at a nearby restaurant. this is a lovely area to take a walk. clean, well maintained, well lighted. lots of activity and a great selection of nearby restaurants and stores. loved the pedestrian covered bridge across the river.

Naperville has one of the best Riverwalks in Illinois. There is so much to do and see, get your exercise on or meet up with friends, hang with your family or enjoy your date night. The location is smackdab in the middle of all the action. It is quite beautiful at night for a stroll, the lights from all the businesses and Hotel Indigo twinkling and the sweet duck watching entertaining all the families with lil ones. The 3 fountains and the Dick Tracy statue and covered bridges, open bridges and stunning flowers and foliage depending on each season. No matter the time of year or day, it is quite possibly one of the best places to go and show off to visitors. There is a variety of free activities, live music offerings and street performances. While it is still a suburb with it's loyal residents the Riverwalk is drawing more urban crowds from Chicagoland because Naperville has it going on!

What a beautiful place to take a walk or take pictures with the family. We love to walk our dog for a walk here. We've lived in Naperville for over 20 years now it never gets old. I love looking at the water too.
When you have a stressful day come take a walk and enjoy.

This is a great place to walk and enjoy the scenery. great place to walk your dog and a great lace for swimming. Love walking along the river and you can enjoy the beautiful trees and flowers.

A beautiful evening walk along the river ...walk along the stream and see and hear the magnificent Millennium Carillon strike every hour, polished like a turf table grass...all in all a delightful experience for the whole family.

Great place to enjoy a nice easy walk, watching the seasons change on the leaves is really beautiful right now. In the summer you can walk to the end and enjoy the little beach area with the kids. Right at downtown, it makes it easy to walk off a good meal or do a little shopping.

Great place to go for a walk in any time of the year. There are different things to see, depending on where you walk, and the paths are well-maintained.

Love this place. Lived in Illinois for 16 years and moved back to California almost 8 years ago. Came back to Illinois for my sons graduation and stayed at the hotel indigo which is right at the Riverwalk. Great places to eat with the Riverwalk to walk off all that good food!!
Beautiful and clean
A beautiful place, clean, it is free, it is long enough, appropriate for families, friends, couples and more. There are lots of other activities, restaurants, and stores to visit within minutes of the Riverwalk.
