Very disappointing service from Rockerfeller centre customer services. Certainly one i would not expect from a company as world renowned as Rockerfeller centre!
5 emails sent over a period of 3 months, asking for a rough time scale as to when tickets will go on sale for the Christmas tree switch on.
Not had a rseponse

A great place to shop, eat, hang, drink and even roller skate. A lot of fun.
its also a great place to hide from the rain .

Nice view of the Empire State Building but not the best view in NYC.
Choose your time carefully (sunrise or sunset).

The staff at the Rockefeller were the friendliest of all of the people we interacted with during a three day stay in New York. As a person who is terrified of heights and lifts we had absolutely no plans to do anything but walk around and have something to eat, however, I knew my husband would love to go up to the top so I lingered near the entrance plucking up courage to suggest it. We were spoken to by a lovely young lady called Caminta ( sincere apologies for the spelling but I was in a high state of panic!) . Long story short...She gave me confidence to give it a go. I think she knew how frightened I was so once we had paid for the tickets she got us in the lift immediately before I chickened out!! I cannot describe the sense of elation that I had once I was up there and looking across New York. Even now I don't know how I did it. All of the staff were wonderful so this was our best MY experience. Thank you everyone!!

Hands down the best experience in New York. Our tour guide Leo was amazing. From start to finish we were treated like VIP’s. Learnt the history. Highly recommend.

Iconic area especially in the winter but always something going on. Lots to do nearby in so far as shopping and eating…..

The place was nice to skate & view. I can't wait to go back to new your because I really enjoyed my vacation. I didn't expect it to be so much fun

The whole experience was amazing and totally worth it ! But I do have a cry for help!! , I came and took a picture on the beam experience with my family on Jan 26th 2025 . It was between 4:30 and 5:30 pm, 4 people. I cannot find the way to go back to the website to download it and I would love to develop it in a big poster format for my husband’s birthday. The quality of the one I have on my phone is not good enough. Do you think there is anyway you can help me retrieve it? I can send you the one I have so that you can recognize us? Thank you so much in advance for your precious help, warm regards

If you want to see the city from another angle, try the Top of the Rock, there you can see the sea of buildings, the Empire State, take beautiful photos and also see the iconic Central Park and get an idea of the grandness of the park that appears in many series and movies.
On the exit, enjoy the cafes that are in the gallery and walk around the shops and surroundings of the Rockfeller Center.

The famous building along 5th avenue with the Atlas statue, Xmas tree and ice rink. They also have the Top of the rock experience. And dozens of shops and restaurants

If you’re in nyc you’re likely to visit one of the tall skyscrapers for a Birds Eye view of the city such as the Empire State Building but if you visit there . There is one thing you won’t see and that is the Empire State Building itself so visit the Rockefeller tower it has an outside viewing deck as well as one inside and you great views of manhattan including the empire state building on one side and views over Central Park on the other

We booked the observation deck but it was a waste of money as it was raining and you couldn't see a thing. We could not reschedule as apparently they were fully booked and they have a no refund policy. Lost $80, staff couldn't care less, clearly this happens a lot and they just make money for nothing. Typical Rockefeller I guess !

We visited the Rockefeller Centre both day and night. I have given an average revue as the magic of the place is taken away by the overcrowding
Night
We visited the Rockefeller Plaza at night to see the tree, the crowds were insane and I have to say a little unnerving. At one point there were barriers put across the street to keep the crowds in one area which I didn't understand as when you had seen the tree you wanted to walk away and get out of the crowd but we couldn't and everyone was stuck for quite sometime, finally people pushed the barriers out of the way and the crowd moved. If it is like that every night around Christmas I would avoid going again and especially if I had children with me.
The tree however was spectacular, beautiful and did not disappoint
Day
A lot less crowded during the day around the tree area but off course the lights do not look as pretty but at least you could get close enough to see the tree and the ice rink
We also passed through the centre inside so we could go to Top Of The Rock. This I would recommend booking in advance as even trying to book the morning of that day all the slots where booked and we had to book for the next day.
I have to say inside the Rockefeller building on the ground level it is also chaotic, understaffed and hot and the que from the ladies toilets was out the door and a long way from the toilet entrance so don't get caught short.
We did visit The Top Of The Rock which was awesome and so well done but I will review that under Top Of The Rock.

The Rockefeller Centre is over rated. Apart from the ice rink and Observatory it is a shopping centre. Most of the staff are rude and unhelpful. Don't ask the Concierge behind the desk at the main entrance for help he will bark instructions at you.
We went Thursday 19 October with our sightseeing pass, unaware we had to book a slot. We asked one of the young ladies managing the crowd what we had to do. She told us to get out of the line and go and book a time. We did not know where to go (no signage) and she was not about to help us. We eventually asked her colleague who explained what we had to do. We went into the building which was very confusing and badly signposted. Many of the staff were unhelpful when we did not know where to go. Eventually , a young lady took us to the place we needed to go to redeem our tickets.
Then there is Danny the Dic.....tator who controls "his line" to access the Observatory. We turned up 20 minutes early for our timed visit and he rudely told us to go away and return at the allotted time. When we returned Danny the incompetent had two queues blocking the street. It was unclear which line we needed to be in. He was rude and unhelpful just kept shouting about "his line". Fortunately, an adult came out just before 7.30. She asked everyone to stand in the same line and they would be called forward at their allotted time. This way the queue was not blocking the footpath. Who knew there could be a grown up solution to a power crazed Danny.
I would not recommend the Rockefeller Centre as a tourist attraction. There are other locations in New York with equal, if not better views of the city where the staff are helpful and friendly. The Empire State (much better experience) The Edge, The One World Observatory. They all have a much better overall experience with more information about the building and New York. At the Rockefeller Centre you are herded in walk along several corridors, get told to stop (rudely), walk along other corridors, get told to stop (rudely) before you are herded into a lift and deposited at the top.
Many of the staff were on a power trip ordering people around and in my opinion the experience is not worth the rudeness of the staff.

The extremely well restored and preserved 1920s art deco building is wonderful, the staff is very friendly and attentive.
Climbing to the top and seeing those views is simply stunning.

I’d visited the centre previously but didn’t realise there was a tour. We got this free as part of the New York pass. Logan our tour guide was lovely and very knowledgeable. The facts and information were great, the art work was stunning. Didn’t realise how big the area this centre covered was. It’s quite fascinating. Excellent activity to do as part of visiting the top of the rock.

Avoid at all costs if you value your time and want to see more of New York than the queue for the lift down.
Been waiting almost an hour, no staff to be seen and when you do see one they are as much use as an ash tray on a motorbike.
If a masked man held me hostage for this long I'd be phoning the cops.

I bought the VIP visit because my wife and I wanted to see a little more than the average person who just went on their own. We met at THE LOUNGE where we were treated to a nice hot cocoa. (It was 28 degrees). This visit would include an individual tour behind the scenes of 30 Rock and a ride on THE BEAM and THE SKYLIFT.
After a brief safety video for THE BEAM, we were met by Christine (our personal guide). She took us to many places inside 30 Rock and explained the history of the building and the neighborhood. Not knowing any of this information, it was fascinating how something this large was built during a stressful time in the USA (stock market collapse). Christine was very knowledgeable about the history and was able to answer all questions that my wife and I had.
She escorted us to THE BEAM. As VIPs, we were treated to an individual ride with no one else on THE BEAM. A great experience to rise high and see all the way to the horizon on all sides. A few pictures were taken by the BEAM TEAM.
We climbed some stairs to a higher point where we did the VIP thing again on THE SKYLIFT. This spiraled as it lifted off the roof to take you even higher than you've already been. You also get a 360 panorama view and photo.
After THE SKYLIFT, Christine answered final questions and said her goodbyes. We were then free to continue to hang out on our own including going to the CAFE for a complimentary champagne toast.
I'd recommend the VIP trip for anyone to get the full story of the building and the ability to see everything 30 Rock has to offer without having to deal with the crowds.
I'd like to thank Christine for a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Our tour guide Danny was absolutely amazing, he was so friendly, kind, funny and most of all so informative. He gave us the perfect tour and told us so many cool and important facts and history about the Rockerfellar centre and family. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Danny and thank you Rockerfeller for letting us experience such and amazing tour all about the art, creativity and history at the centre.

I come to the top of the rock everytime I’m in the city. The views are incredible and you can go outside and feel the city air. However on this visit we booked express passes and it was not worth the money. The only fast part was not having to queue outside. You are herded in, the queues on the way down are not managed well. We paid for the champagne toast and after another queue we were handed approx half a glass of champagne in a plastic up and moved on. Again not worth the money

The Rockefeller centre is much bigger than you could appreciate unless you went on the guided tour. It is very informative and really opens your eyes to the Fabulous artwork around the city and also the history behind the buildings.

Some sights just say “New York.” This is one of those sights. Great people watching, statues, near St Patrick’s Cathedral, Radio City, the LEGO store, Atlas Sculpture, and more.

Over from the uk for a long weekend with wife and boys
I obviously know who the Rockefellers were / are but hadn’t appreciated the existence of the centre
Kind of stumbled upon it (if you can indeed stumble upon a skyscraper) cutting through to St Peter’s cathedral
Actually a really nice area
Ice rink, toy shop, the most amazing Lego shop
Ended up having a bite to eat and spending a couple of hours in the area
Really good

We went to the Top of the Rock and it was just incredible. We choose a near-sunset timeslot and waiting for it to ve dark so we could take photos during daylight and night as well. It was a bit crowded, but the view is just breathtaking.

Excellent one hour walking tour with a very engaging and clever guide. He pointed out many interesting sites that we never would have noticed on our own, and kept up a constant patter as we walked the streets. The headsets made it possible to hear him clearly. (English only). At the end of the tour we were able to buy tickets separately to go to the top of 30 rock, which was excellent as well. We highly recommend this tour.

Excellent tour guide. Very thoughtful and friendly. We got to see all the artwork that we were hoping too, and learned much of the history of Rockefeller Center.

Obviously it's Christmas well it was in between Christmas and New Year but it is another must to go to see the tree and obviously were Kevin was found too :-)

They were charging people $100 per hour to skate Christmas time. As a native New Yorker, I found that disgusting!! They should be ashamed. Sure, people paid, what choice did they have?? Criminal highway robbery.

Rockefeller Center is a complex of several commercial buildings built between 1929 and 1940. It is located in Midtown Manhattan, between Fifth Avenue and Avenue of the Americas and between 48th and 51st Street. In winter you can skate on the ice rink. Inside they have beautiful wall paintings.

We had a delightful experience and James was our VIP tour guide. He was energetic, insightful, and was awesome. he was able to show us some artwork explaining the history of the building was very insightful. I think it was appreciated by all ages. He took us to top and we had a great experience overall.

An excellent exponent of Art Deco New Yorkino. Stunning building on the outside and above all, inside. Your trip to the Observatory can be 2x1, get informed.

Beautiful view and beautiful building. The staff is friendly and the garden outside is so relaxing despite the noise of the big city. Da visitare!

This is supposed to be the best Xmas tree - but it sadly wasn't (in my opinion) and with so many people there it was not the pinnacle it was hoped to be

The skating rink is really nice and right in the middle of such a huge city. It’s set down below ground level so you can easily see it. Made it feel like the holidays.

The best Tour ever possible to make through the Rockefeller Center. Guide Tim has sooooo much knowledge and is telling all the stories about the history, the architecture and the design with such a passion and enthusiasm that you don´t recognize the time going by. Defintely an A+!!!!!! Thanks, Tim!

This was such an interesting tour, it gave so much insight into the area and the art installations. The hour long tour seemed to pass by so quickly, just so much to see!
The headsets were not fantastic, the audio cut out any time our guide faced away from the group but he tried his best to face us when explaining something once he was aware of the issue.

Great views
Shame about the staff they were so rude
I would recommend pre booking we didn't as it said it wasn't necessary
We had to wait over an hour
View was stunning at night so worth a visit

We visited the Rockefeller Centre to have a look at the rink and the christmas tree.
It wasn't too busy either which was nice.
We had coffee and watched everyone skating, it starts at $22 to skate and the atmosphere is great with the music blaring.
The tree was covered in scaffolding ready for the big reveal and we missed it by a couple of days, but it still looked impressive.
Definitely worth a visit to the area.

A New York experienced. It’s one of the most iconic place to be in New York. Busy placed but to be expected.

Great informative guide and all round brilliant experience
Please not wear sandals or shoes ect with backs on as you have to wear horrendous slip on black shoe covers if not which ruined our pic 😂

Having been to NYC four times, this place is of course always a highlight for me! I was able to admire the view from above about 15 years ago, but this year the focus of my visit was the Christmas hustle and bustle. Around the Rockefeller Center you can find by far the most beautiful decorations in NYC.

With a group of Italians we came for a couple of days on holiday here in New York and my husband and I came here for lunch where usually in winter there is an ice rink. The immense green place is beautiful even though you are in the middle of many skyscrapers

This was one of my favourite things I experienced during my time in New York. There was a only short wait for the lift (which was interactive - a really nice touch) and the views from around the building were incredible!

Great experience with my 3 daughters. Have previously done the observation deck experience a few times but the Skylift and Beam experience passes add another perspective to the tour. Great welcome and introduction then straight into it. The deck was heaving with long queues but the VIP passes cut out all the waiting. Limited to your group makes it very personal and the extra height and views from the Skylift add to stunning skyline. Once you experience the Skylift and Beam back down for the pictures and a glass of fizz which are all included. Great night.
Only reason I gave a 4 star review and not a 5 is that’s it’s over so quick.

Beam experience at the Rockefeller. Expensive but you only do it once!
Book for just before dusk so that you can get a drink and then linger at the top to watch sunset and get a different set of photos - fronted by Empire State Building by day and night.
Don't wear trousers that go to half mast when you sit on a beam!

Probably it's at its most beautiful during Xmas and when I went the whole thing was still locked so did not get to experience much.

Rockefeller Center is a great place to visit and there are many attractions within walking distance. That said, we were there on a Sunday and almost all the good restaurants were closed. You can still get "fast food", but if you want a proper sit down meal you may be out of luck.

Amazing views. No waiting at all, but make sure to go there early in the morning (we went there at 10am). Would recommend Rockefeller observation deck instead of Empire State Building (only half the price, less people, great views to Central Park and Empire State Building).

Once landed in New York, put our bags down in the room at the hotel and walked over to the Rockefeller Centre. The first thing we did in New York. Have to say, when approaching the area it was underwhelming, have to say. The photographs seem to give the impression the area is much larger. The ice rink is small and overall, nothing to speak of..OK, so perhaps because the Christmas tree had scaffolding around it , but still, Im not sure that would change a whole lot. Being fair, this time, we didnt have time to go inside and go to the top, which Im sure we will next time to see the view..but of all the things we did and saw in New York, this has to be the bottom of the list for me. Will hopefully change my opinion a second time around. I can only suggest, find time to go to the top or perhaps not visit in November

This is aimed at Alleyah who went beyond her duty as customer service rep helping me retrieve my misplaced ticket
Can’t thank her enough and the views at the top on a beautiful night are unreal

This is a historical landmark located near the time square area. It's a place where tourists come to take photos, ice skate and shop. There are shops located under the plaza.

We just visited here for sight seeing. It's impressive and nice to get pictures etc but nothing much is there inside.

Rockefeller Center is of course completely overflowing during the holiday season. But what's on offer here is only in New York.
Just out of the ordinary. The tree and right across the street from Sacks' lights show.
What more could you want.

It was a great visit. Weather was perfect and we could take some amazing pictures from the skyline of New York and the sunset over Manhattan. The guide was friendly and had lots of information about the buildings and the area. Best part was skipping the lines in front of the elevators.

Our second journey to the Top of the Rock and it was great - brilliant views and great photo opportunities
My favourite observation deck in NYC because of the history and that view over Central Park

We were not told it was 12 and under at purchase. Having headphones and transponder was a disaster. It barely worked and my son was so distracted by the white noise he knocked the over a sign and injured his thumb badly. The tour guide was only interested in taking his equipment back and there was no first aide offered on the site anywhere. There was little compassion and no effort at all to attempt any customer services. For the cost it was very disappointing. The guide was knowledgeable but I would not recommend anyone spending their money on this.

I worked in 30 Rock for years - and have always loved it. Fantastic views, steeped in history, and easy to get in and out. Interesting underground structures too.

Just a great view....more can't be done!!! The access is a bit hidden. Just look around the entrance area or ask..

Shoutout to Richard and Andy they made this an unforgettable experience for us, very worth the price just go on a clear day

Great! Make sure to come in December for the tree and the rink. It is truly incredible. The tree is amazing and although crowded, it is worth the visit for an authentic visit to NYC during Christmas. I recommend.

Incredible experience!!! Not sure which was more fun The Beam experience or the new Skylift experience. Both were amazing

One of our main lookout points in New York would have been the Top of the Rock. On the 5th of October it took about an hour for the two of us to book an appointment using two different bank cards, but the address was not accepted in any way, so we then went to the Edge's observation deck, where we could book without any problems. Otherwise, we made reservations at several other New York attractions without any problems.

The complex is impressive. Incredible views from the top. In Decmeber a Famous Christmas Tree. Rockefeller Center is a Major New York Landmark.

I confess that I expected more, the skating rink is much smaller than it appears to be in the movies. But it's worth visiting because it's so iconic.

I’ve been here a few times for different reasons, but this trip I wanted to stop by and see the Christmas tree while it’s still up in early January. It’s absolutely gorgeous! We stopped by later in the evening after seeing a show (and it was raining) so it was pretty cleared out. Definitely a sight to see if you’ve never seen it!

Before I just whizzed through it. This time I took my time and it was very interesting on a beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon

Brilliant experience, get express tickets if you can because we seemed to be the only ones that had them and you just flash them to the staff and they put you at the front of every queue. For the lifts and for the attractions they pull you out of the line and take you to the front.

TOP OF THE ROCK ascent of 92 floors in record time no time to see incredible magnificent view of NYC and the empire state building which was lit up in red

Fantastic experience would highly recommend. The VIP tour is definitely worth the extra money, no cues just straight through with very interesting history of the building given on the way round.

This is usually a fave among both tourists and natives during the holidays. As long time person living here, I try to make the trek here toward year end because it brings back old memories when I was a kid and went with my parents but during my most recent visit in 2023, I noticed all the restaurants around the rink especially the iconic Rock Center Cafe was gone. There is nothing around the rink now and just glass for tourists to look through which there were before but now it’s almost 270 degrees around. Here, is an example of when it was better back then during the good ol days because dining while looking at the rink was magical. This was also done by the main character in the classic novel, The Cather in the Rye. You can no long experience this since all the new restaurants are now away from any windows and really, who wants to eat there anymore? What an awful decision by those in charge and I feel sorry for the new generations who will never be able to experience dining next to the rink. At least, I was able to enjoy it once upon a time.

Climb to the top of this legendary skyscraper and do the (paid) attraction on the beam, a must
Another symbol of NY not to be missed

Went into the building to see the marble but was told that we weren't allowed as our group of 8 was too large.
A disappointing visit

Haven’t been into the City to see the Tree in years but after watching Christmas in Rockefeller we felt we had to go. The heart warming story of this years tree (2024) was so touching we wanted to be apart of the celebration. The Tree is absolutely stunning! It was also special to visit St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Love the holiday in NEW YORK CITY.

We decide to research the observation decks and decided on the Rockefeller Centre. It’s not the highest but we were sold with its views.
Certainly worth the money $80 for both of us and we had a laugh with the staff at the top. We was up there for about 45 minutes but could have stayed longer if we’d wanted.

The tour of the Rockefeller Center campus is a must do! If you are fortunate, enjoy the tour led by Jonathan. He is a pro! You will be given an audio set for the duration of the tour and will be walking the "campus". My tour was led by Jonathan. He was fantastic. He is engaging with guests and highlights everything in detail. It made me want to research everthing discussed. Bravo, Jonathan! 20 points for you :)

We visited one of the most iconic places in New York, the ROCKEFELLER Centrer, full of people on the skating rink and nearby

The VIP was worth it. The lounge was nice. They offered you water or lemonade. I loved not having to wait in line. I was a little confused because they said private tour, but it was with other people (only 6). I would have worded it small group. It was nice they let us reschedule since there were whiteout conditions the day we were scheduled. The glass of champagne was more like a sample. The beam and skylift were super cool. The photo pass is included so you don’t have to wait in line unless you want your photos printed. They give you 20% off the gift shop and a card to show to skip the line for the elevator. I loved the views.

Travel December 2023 (Christmas) with child of 4 years. With the jet lag we went to 7:00 in front of the tree and enjoyed the moment, no one on the horizon! We went back the next day at 4:00 pm a hell of a lot of people, we couldn't even move on. A tip if you are there during the Christmas period, get up early in the morning, the energy of the city is so different and you can fully enjoy this magical place that can be disappointing if there are too many people!

Not a cheap ticket to get on the observation deck. You need to book a time slot. Around sunset it is extra busy. There are several extra activities you can do such as the beam experience. Please note that when you are allowed in before the timeslot, you will first see a short film and go up by elevator. Upstairs there are different levels and you can possibly have a drink. The sun had set due to the delay vd film. The view, on the other hand, is fantastic. Empire State Building, Central Park etc. Upper part was ridiculously crowded, they let in far too many people which made taking pictures almost impossible.

Good view. No issues. Good view of Empire State Building and central park.
Visited early in the day, the process and the staff were all friendly and ok.
We all had a good day.

Went there during the holiday season as we've been told how beautiful it is during that time. So glad we did! It was stunning and to see the X-mas tree and all the other lights and building lit up. WOW! A definite must do if you travel during the holiday season. Won't be disappointed.

The Rockefeller Center is an immense 22 acre business complex in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Luck would have it, my timing was bang-on for a performance of the Today Show. More luck, I could have swore that I saw an aging David Letterman walk out of the famed Rainbow Room, I could have been wrong, but I doubt it. The property is just jammed with attractions and I just wandered around looking up and about. The business sections were occupied by the likes of the Radio City Music Hall theatre, the home of NBC Studios and more. The enormous Xmas tree and bustling skating rink were fascinating.

Great visit. We did the beam experience but to be honest it’s over priced. The photo they produced didn’t show enough of the New York backdrop that’s the real money shot. All staff very nice. The views are incredible. Pleasant day, would return but wouldn’t do the beam experience

One of my favorite neighborhoods in Manhattan because of the excellent urban design. It was built as a new town in the middle of the city during the Depression. Risky plan, but it worked out eventually as the buidlings are so beautiful, the location so superb. Arrange for a guided tour to understand all of the details, some of which you might miss on a casual visit. Fountains, art deco, sculpture, decorations, soaring skyscrapers, plus some good good and drink. Great area.

The view is definitely breathtaking, even if overcrowded the view is truly worth it.
Absolutely worth doing.
Unforgettable!!!

Paid for the beam experience. For us Australians and 11 of us it cost $500 plus. This does NOT include any photos it just gives you the opportunity to sit on the beam. $500 to sit on the beam for a photo opportunity. Then you have to pay for the photos afterwards. We were in the shade and the photo is dark and rather rubbish. Other family members were in the sun and a better photo. I also asked the lady at the beam what the best place for me to take photos of our family on the beam on my phone. (We were the last group of our family ) she said to come through on the beam level. I said but I want a top (which I’d read is to go up to the top level) view and there was no one else there and they were not busy. she said no the best place is out here on beam level… that’s a lie. I went with it and no you can’t get photos from the beam level. You have to go up to the higher level. We were the only ones on the beam and it was quiet so I had plenty of time to get my photo. Very disappointed the experience doesn’t not come include photos. Very expensive to just sit on the beam basically. And the flash I’m assuming didn’t work given how dark it was. Not really worth the money.

We had rainy weather. Of course, you're not in it. Our VIP package included photos. Unfortunately, these photos were very bad. No people were recognized in the photo at the Skylift. This was due to the fact that the lenses of the cameras were not freed from the raindrops or wiped off. In my opinion, this must not happen at almost 400€ for two people. It was very disappointing.

Rockefeller Center is a complex that includes 19 buildings and covers several blocks in Midtown Manhattan with "30 Rock" being the central focus. Built in the 1930s by the Rockefeller family, it is an Art Deco masterpiece. Inside is the NBC studios where the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Jimmy Fallon, and Saturday Night Live are filmed. Top of the Rock is the observation deck on top of 30 Rock. The views are amazing and while the historic skyscraper is not as famous or as attractive as the Empire State Building, I would argue that the views are better including the incredible unobstructed view of the Empire State Building when looking south. This is also where you fill find iconic Rockefeller Plaza with the outdoor skating rink and Christmas tree during the winter months.

The outside of the building in so "New York"! Loved seeing the golden structure- I remember the huge Christmas tree from a previous visit. Great place to see iconic fashion names on the store fronts! Perfect place to see people from around the world congregate at this point in NYC!!! Love it!

We booked the tour online earlier (around $60 per person with taxes and access to Top of the Rock). We were guided by Jonathan and he was amazing!
Interesting lecture full of some details and stories, and funny moments and he showed attention and care to each guy in the group.
High recommended booking the tour especially with Jonathan 🙂

We did the Official Rockefeller center tour and also top of the rock. While our tour guide was very good and the tour contained interesting information, I do think that the tour could easily be self guided, with just a brochure/walking map or even a prerecorded audio tour. The area was actually smaller than I had anticipated. The headset given to use to hear the tour guide was subpar, the tour guide said they were getting new equipment any day now. We walked right by some art that wasn’t even mentioned. The guide was able to get us in to top of the rock 30 min before our scheduled time however, which was great. We went on a Monday morning and the line to top of the rock was very short. Good views at the top although it was somewhat hazy out. We only spent about 15-30 min at the top. I’ve been to Chicago’s sky deck and their queue is much better with lots of fun photo opps. Anyway, I can check this off the list, and if I ever come back to NYC, I don’t think I will bother with any of the observatories, but I would come back to wander Rockefeller plaza. We went to FAO Schwartz, it was small than I had anticipated. Don’t miss St Patrick’s Cathedral across the street from Rockefeller plaza.

We had a tour as part of our City Pass. Well worth doing. Interesting to hear some of the history, especially about the art. Great to see where the Christmas tree is and to see the skating rink. The new parts underneath the Rockefeller centre are really well done and fit with the original parts.

Loved it!! The skating rink was so cool! The tree was up but not lit yet, wish I could have stayed longer to see it lit up!

We visited Rockefeller Centre and thoroughly enjoyed everything this historic area has to offer. The ice skating rink was in full swing, top of the rock was great and the entire centre is a must do in New York

Great views on a bright sunny day and beautifully decked out for Christmas! Pricey but a good experience. Everyone enjoyed it.

This was an unexpected and delightful tour. We were planning to go to the Top of the Rock and our passes included this tour. Our tour guide was witty and very knowlegeable about the entire Rockfeller Center and all the buildings. The tour took about 45 minutes and was NOT a rushed experience. Highly, highly recommend this fun little New York City diversion~

The Top of the Rock was overall a cool experience. Really well organized. We all liked learning the history of the building and the Christmas tree. The only negative is that they have a lot of the observation area blocked off for the beam experience, or for pictures with Santa.

Excellent experience, small group guided through the Rockefeller centre, into areas that the general public don’t get access to. Up close to the famous Rockefeller Xmas Tree, did the beam and the sky lift which were amazing. Would definitely recommend

A must visit with an incredible Christmas atmosphere. The famous tree, the ice skating rink, the spectacular shops like Saks Fifth Avenue and its fantastic window displays.

The Rockefeller Center is a must-visit spot in the heart of NYC, offering shopping, dining, and unique attractions. The famous ice skating rink is a highlight, especially in winter. The center is also home to a variety of stores, restaurants, and events, including the iconic Christmas tree. With its central location and vibrant atmosphere, it’s a great place to explore year-round.

I thought about this trip for so many years that now that I have achieved it, I am more than happy, I only had three days to meet, but the main thing I think I saw, although they say it is a city where you walk a lot, I also feel that it can be planned calmly and especially for older people.
Yes, it is true that we walk a lot I recommend comfortable shoes but those shoes that you already know, other than new shoes, I wore three pants and three blouses, gloves and hat and with that it was bearable. Coldest day was December 5 at -3°

Rockefeller Center at night is magical! The beautiful lights, the famous rink, and knowing it's home to Jimmy Fallon make it an iconic NYC experience. The views are stunning and capture the city's vibrant energy. A must-visit for anyone in New York!

The whole point of this tour is to see a little more than you would on the standard trip up the rock. The main event - The Rainbow Room - is currently undergoing renovation (July 23rd 2023) and there is little else of interest in the whole tour. Don’t waste your money on this.

Beautiful square at the foot of the building, with flags, fountain. Place where the ice rink and the mythical Christmas tree are located in winter.

Long queues to get into the Rock, but the express pass got us in and up to the top in minutes. So glad we didn't have to queue otherwise we'd have missed the sunset! Definitely worth the extra investment. Elevator was fast, the view from the top magnificent, if a little busy, especially on the topmost terrace. People rather rude, but that's just humans for you.
Ice rink at the bottom was open, a beautiful sight all in all.

Beautiful with Christmas tree still up! The rink is still up too! It was beautiful truly. It was also a lot less people after Christmas and tourist season!

An absolute must see in New York for a breathtaking panoramic view of the entire city. I went at night and loved the experience. It’s certainly even more incredible during sunset! It was definitely a very memorable evening.

Very welcoming and helpful staff. Thank you! Beautiful views and cool art. The beam experience was easy and fun. Very well organized. Highly recommend!

I have been going here for years. The tree is all lit up and had a holiday atmosphere. One thing I always enjoyed was taking a moment by the railing to watch the skaters on the ice. This is now barricaded, and you cannot get anywhere near the railing, unless you are willing to pay for an Igloo looking table. I didn’t even bother to find out how much they cost. I simply want to spend a few minutes and watch, like you could in days gone by. I think this may be off my Christmas time activities.

Always something going on. They have a rink for roller skatinglading or ice skating depending on the season. For July 4th they had all Ammerican flags flying. The next day they had flags from around the world.

Really enjoyed the views from here, staff really friendly, great place to visit, great view of the empire state building

The most important building is the General Electric Skyscraper, built in 1930, which has 70 floors and 266 meters. high, surrounded by the most expensive stores in New York. On the Ground Floor and the mezzanine of this building you can see a spectacular Swarosvski chandelier and a multimedia exhibition of the history, art and architecture of the Center. Rockefeller Plaza is the heart of the Complex: an ice skating rink operated here from the end of October to the beginning of April. When summer arrives it is transformed into the Summer Garden and Bar, with plans to be a roller skating rink. This Building has on its front valuable art-deco details such as the Atlas Statue, at the entrance to the International Building (630 Fifth Avenue). De Lawnie is also "Wisdom", at the entrance to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, which can be seen from the 5th Avenue. You can also admire Sert's "American Progress" Mural by entering there. A whole architectural world to discover!

We stayed nearby and would grab breakfast on our way to other sites. Rockefeller Center is a great place to stop, sit, and people watch. I'm sure in winter it's amazing with the skating rink and tee. I would like to come back in December and see it. It's right in the middle of lots of things to see and do.

Very nice neighborhood: above and below.
Lots to see and do: FAO Schwarz toy store, Rockfeller Plazza, typical Bill Bar restaurant...
We really liked the area without forgetting to see St Patrick's Cathedral right next door

We did not make the view, but we were in the visitable parts of the building for free. There is the subway that serves it, there are shops and when we go out we could see the famous ice rink

Took many photos and visited FAO Schwartz and photos by the fountain. Beautiful area with places to sit and enjoy the sights. We even saw a marching band in front of FAO Schwartz!.

Given my curiosity x the location where the Christmas tree is lit I expected something more particular and big but I was disappointed maybe because they broadcast in a big screen the Olympics

Our guide was AMAZING. He was well informed, fun, and funny. I learned so much about the public art in Rockefeller Center.

$100 an hour, ridiculously crowded, tiny rink, honestly. Do you really need to be "seen" that badly?

Rockfeller Center is a building that began construction in early 1930 and has become one of the tallest buildings in New York and especially an iconic piece in terms of its style, stature, cinematic references and history. Its magnificent 360° terrace offers an incredible view of South Manhattan in Central Park. If there is only one building to visit in New York, it may be this one. Beautiful view also of the State building empire!

Great trip! Very well looked after with a personal tour guide giving you a great insight. Pictures were great. Even though is was a bit cloudy, it was still a great trip.

A beautiful view of the Empire State Building at the top of Rockefeller (Top of the Rock).
Entrance included with the city pass

Our guide was very knowledgeable. We learned things we never would have on our own. It was worh taking the tour and would definitely recommend it to others.

Ticket seller Ajo was terrific. Tried to get us the best deal for everything we wanted. We did the Sky Lift and the Beam. DIsappointing. You're already on 67th floor then Lift takes you up 2 more stories but the view is basically the same. The lift rotates but still... On the beam, you are put in a seat belt and raised up. I thought the digital photo would include the black & white pic of the workers in the photo. Turned out the pic was only the two of us. No workers. And it didn't give the impression that we were high up and doing something risky like the workers. Disappointing. Pics were $35 so we passed.

Fun place to visit with great shops and restaurants in the neighborhood. Also the i erink is nice to watch people and kill some time.

It was Wonderfull opportunity that you can see Central Park and Empire State Building and all points of Manhattan. This tower is only the one place yu can see many options.

We spend a few hours around Rockefeller Center once on our own and once during our tour. We saw the big Christmas tree and took pictures. There are lots of people around but it was not so packed you couldn't enjoy it. The biggest issue is that the tree is blocked off and you can't get close to it unless you pay $50 to min to have a photo taken with a tree. This feels way more like a crowd control tactic as the lines would be crazy and chaos and the staff probably have to control the crowd. Pictures are possible all over and we saw no one paying the $50 to take a picture when you can take your own for free. There are many shops in the building and around the area we went in. We saw the entrance to where the Tonight Show was filmed and the Today Show was. We didn't skate or go up to the top which we would have liked to do but our schedule and budget were tight so we just spend time on the ground.

This is our second visit to New York. And every visit, the Rockfeller Center was decorated in a different way. It is a center that is always in transformation! Space for trade, artistic presentation, demonstrations and meeting point, worth a visit at the end of the afternoon, to complement with a visit to the Top of the Rock and take a picture of the illuminated Empire State!

I had to see the Christmas tree when I was here in December because I grew up seeing the tree in different movies.

As folks who come to New York a number of times and stay at a hotel nearby a visit to Rockefeller Center is always a must. You don’t have to look hard to find a great photo opportunity. It’s an iconic spot no one visiting New York should ever miss, it’s beautiful in any season but a couple of visits around the holidays were incredibly breathtaking. Who can resist the decorations snd the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. Of course I stopped in FAO Swartz for a bit of nostalgia. Who could resist, right?

Highly recommend the VIP tour of The Rock. Our VIP guide Jonathan was exceptional. He brought the place to life with all the history of the buildings, the Art Deco design, and the stunning wall murals. It was such a rich experience — so much more than just the views from the top albeit those are incredible too. Definitely a tour not to miss! Thank you Jonathan.

despite the area of the rockefeller center is quite extensive, it is mainly known for the top of the rock observatory and the square (which many of us imagine with the snow decorated for Christmas); in general it is one of those historic places, having almost 100 years, where you can take a walk and possibly Shopping in the most disparate shops, from the well-known fao schwarz (really big) to others that are perhaps less known in Italy as the amazon go; the cold skyscrapers could intrigue for the numerous bas-reliefs, sculptures and other decorations among which the prometheus that dominates the square definitely stands out, are still a testimony of an era of New York architecture and style where the creation of the skyline that we see today proceeded at a fast pace

Located in Midtown Manhattan, the Rockefeller Center is spread over a vast area and is home to Top of the Rock. My wife and I appreciated the opportunity to experience this amazing structure and associated ground features whilst visiting New York City.

We couldn't make the excursion because of flight delays which prevented us from arriving on time for the excursion. We could not communicate with someone to modify the experience.

Real estate complex of several buildings, surmounting a commercial center. A name that sanctifies the financial leaders of NYK.
Otherwise as a tourist visit, it is not an essential activity.

although it is a world sight, shoulder pads and goalie gear help with the volume of people. but as for the beauty, evey bum and bruise is well worth it.

Skates were terrible fit very loosely and were dull making it very difficult to even skate slowly. Could have been a nice experience.

Skates were bad but way a nice Christmas experience. Rink was crowded. We enjoyed skating by the tree and fountain. We would do it again. A good activity to get you in Christmas spirit.

It was full of amazing sites. The experience was absolutely stunning. The only downside was the large group of disorganized people. There was a lot of pushing and shoving. Once I was able to get to the line for my photo and skating I was all smooth from there.

Great views and experience.
The only reason i docked a point was that the queues for the beam experience were massive - no problem we waited for about hour and then when it was our turn he said we would have to go with someone else ! not ideal having someone random on your photo. Anyway we didn’t and the experience was great.

The last of them from both sides. I bought three VIP tickets and gave them to my sisters for their birthday. Once there, we were informed that our tour was unfortunately cancelled. After talking to a manager, we were able to take part in the next tour. When we reached the top of the viewpoint, we were told that unfortunately the two main attractions would not be available today. We immediately went back down with the elevator and talked to another manager there, who assured us that we would get the money back for the tickets. To date, we haven't seen a dime! There wasn't even any feedback from Tripadvisor! An absolute cheekiness when something doesn't work, not even to react.

Haven’t even got in there yet but waited 45 minutes to watch a short film. No queuing system, just rounded up like cattle and its whoever pushes into the front gets in. If I can’t basically touch the moon when I get to the top then there will be hell to pay.

Know ahead of time you must exchange a voucher for your ticket. There is a long line to get in even with a ticket (about 9pm). Shops were closed at that time, but a bar was open. Skating area was fun and the views from the top AMAZING!

Must do breathtaking panoramic view day and night I did both .... Take the time to stroll along the route to appreciate the building and its history

As it was in December season when we were very nice and there were a lot of people, it lacks more organization in its mobility.

Is Rockefeller Center an iconic NYC landmark? Yes. Is it always worth visiting? Eh, I think it depends on why you're visiting, how much time you have, and in which season you visit. We came in the summer just to walk around a bit before a Broadway show. It's nice to look around at iconic shops and the exterior of studios, but at the end of the day, the shops are just...shops. Even the inside of 30 Rock is pretty much just shops. Pretty shops because of the architecture, and perhaps iconic shops like F.A.O. Schwartz, but still just shops. Perhaps I would have enjoyed our visit more if we had the time and money to do a tour of NBC studios, or something similar. I do remember enjoying a tour of Radio City several years ago. I also think it might be nice to visit in December when the skating rink and Christmas tree might be set up. As it was during our summer visit, I think Rockefeller is a nice place to visit because it is so iconic, and it is plenty pretty to look at, but it might not be all that special unless you're really into something there, such as exclusive toys they sell at F.A.O. Schwartz or iconic shows filmed at NBC Studios. Speaking of stores and NBC Studios, I was disappointed to find the NBC Studios Store did not sell merch for The Good Place. They sold stuff for other sitcoms, but not that one, even though it's the best one in my opinion. But that's a personal nitpicky and petty complaint. Overall, Rockefeller is nice, but there might be better places to visit if you only have limited time in the city. Still, I did enjoy walking around.

Good information from the very friendly and pleasant tour guide.
Great views and great to skip the lines.
Love the really high views from the beam and skylift.
Would advise to anyone to go.

Place of countless movies, and a must-see destination when visiting NYC. In winter, ice skating dominates the rink, but in spring summer, the traditional skate is the stars.

We didn't have time to go to the Top of the Rock, sadly, but had a wander about which we enjoyed and got some food from one of the restaurant on the lower floor, Was nice to sit in the outside seated area that had a lovely atmosphere.

Saw the tree & decorations Christmas Eve and the Rockettes on Christmas Day. Everything was spectacular.

It was one of the most pleasant surprises of our seven days in New York. We were walking along Fifth Avenue (because as I always say, the best thing about this city is WALKING, because that's the best way to enjoy it) and we came across this Rockefeller Center and, above all, Rockefeller Plaza. It was wonderful! Very good music, a lot of people, very pleasant atmosphere, there were people playing Cornhole (a game of throwing bags into a hole that is very cool), the fountain, the sculptures, etc. Anyway, we liked everything!

The Top of the Rock at the Rockefeller Center is a must if you go to New York. It is one of the most popular views of the city, with privileged views of the Empire State Building and Central Park, among others.

My favourite observation deck.
We visited during the SNL 50 celebration which added to the experience in my opinion.
The video before the elevator was very entertaining.

This was the main reason for this trip to New York ... December and the Rockefeller tree.... been on my bucket list for a long time and I finally did it.... oh the crowds..LOL but still the highlight of my trip.... went back a few times.. only time could even get close was during the early morning.... still a lot of people, but got a couple of good picture....

Beautiful & historic! It’s not a trip to NYC without seeing Rockefeller!
Things to check out:
- the actual building itself is beautiful from the outside
- The ice skating ring is iconic.
- check out inside the plaza! Lots of places to eat & shop out if you take the steps downstairs.
- check out the amazing “Chip City” cookie shop downstairs pushing out some of the BEST warm, fresh cookies!
- enjoy the scenery

The Rockefeller Center is one of the most famous landmarks in New York City. Located around the 70th floor is the observation deck known as Top of the Rock. It is extremely popular with tourists because it lacks obstructive glass panels, offering an unobstructed and breathtaking view of the city. If you plan to visit the platform, it’s highly recommended to book tickets in advance, as they can sell out quickly.

Disappointing organization. An experience that would have been excellent, ended up being horrible due to the organization of the ascent and descent queues. unfortunately. It ended up being the worst experience we had in NYC.

Beautiful building with lots of displays and interactive activities. But at night, you cannot stop enjoying the tree. Next seeing Atlas with the weight on his shoulders and finally Promethius, All more beautiful with Lights!

This was the free bit that made the trip up the Top of the Rock worth while. Magnificent Art Deco architecture, with fine accompanying murals and statuary and a small, but attractive water garden, well planted. (Noticeable how much less floriferous New York is than London).

We had a ticket for 2:10 to go up. This part was chaotic because the person letting people up was not going by ticket times, he was just letting groups up. So we waited until 3 before we got up. We stopped a couple floors up to wait again. While waiting we saw short videos of the history and construction of the tower. That was really interesting! Finally up at the top and the views were amazing!

I love it here. If in NY one visit is great., lots of activities around here, and the starting point for Top of the Rock. From here you can get to Rockefeller plaza the iceskating rink and Radio City.

Each time I am in NY I make a visit to the Rock. This is urban design at its best. Everything is so harmonious in design, the buildings, the fountains, the art and sculpture. And it functions well, as evidenced by the throngs who come here to skate, eat, shop, hang out, plus all of the workers. Manhattan at its best.

Unique views and panoramic views, especially on the Skylift. Since booking did not work - there were always errors in the system when paying we went spontaneously and have only saved more than 50$. Super friendly, helpful staff who gave lots of information. A great, if not quite cheap offer but you don't do New York as often either. I would definitely recommend it.

The Rockefeller Center structure, in addition to being imposing and very famous, is also a meeting place for the inhabitants and tourists of NYC, thanks to the presence of the famous ice rink as well as the Radio City Music Hall, the NBC Studios and the Top of The Rock. There are also in the immediate vicinity both the FAO Schwartz (the super famous toy shop that you will all have seen in "Home Alone" or in "Big" for example, with the piano that you play by jumping on it with your feet) the most beautiful Lego Store I've ever seen (and I've visited quite a few eh...). As luck would have it, above the skating rink, in front of one of the entrances to the structure, on the day we visited the area they had installed a tennis court where you could play for free upon reservation and, obviously, we took the opportunity to also add this wonderful memory to our holiday.

This is another one of those must-see attractions first time in New York. An iconic scene from several movies. It is smaller than I expected. Top of the Rock worth entering for a NY overview

The only way to see the Top of the Rock. The VIP tour is worth it. Starting with an amazing private lounge, a cool wash cloth, and a refreshing drink. You're guiding past the lines straight to the top with access to The Beam Experience and the Skylift Experience. We never waited, and the staff was amazing. Breath taking views and smooth entry. You can take your time to walk around and move between floors. There was no pressure to hurry. Great connect with staff. The VIP ticket is worth it and allows you to get around faster. The Beam experience and the Skylift give you an extra kick. We didn't get our free glass of champagne, but everything else was awesome.

Great time during November to go, they had the tree lighting. If you can not stand the crowds please do not consider going. It gets prwtty busy in that area

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Top of the Rock Experience. While we encountered a minor hiccup upon arrival—being directed to the back of the long queue despite having expedited entry tickets—this was quickly resolved. Once sorted, we were guided to a VIP lounge, where we were treated to complimentary beverages, including water, lemonade, sparkling water, and hot chocolate, which added a lovely touch to the experience.
Our tour began with a visit to the Rockefeller tree. This exclusive access away from the overwhelming crowds was absolutely worth it, as the area can become incredibly congested, making it difficult to get close to the tree. From there, we were taken to the observation deck, where our knowledgeable and friendly tour guide shared fascinating insights about the city’s landmarks and history.
The highlight was undoubtedly the beam experience, followed by ascending to the 360-degree observation deck, soaring 900 feet above New York City. The breathtaking views were truly unforgettable, and the photos taken throughout the tour were conveniently available to download via a QR code.
We ended the experience with a glass of champagne in the cozy “weather room,” with more time to enjoy the incredible views from the observation deck.
A special shoutout to our amazing tour guide, who made the experience even more enjoyable with their expertise and warm demeanor.
This is a must-do experience, and we’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting NYC!

Not a lot to see but worth walking through and being there. Would probably be more impressive during the holidays.

We walked the 5 minutes from our hotel to the Rockefeller Center , we went into the NBC Studio building , a really beautiful structure with amazing architecture , we then went to Radio City Music Hall , again another amazing piece of architecture with lots of history and so much to see.
We then went to the Rockefeller Plaza to look at the famous tree, beautiful but a little underwhelming when you are actually there.

I was expecting a mega American-style mall instead it seemed like a small center with some shops. Maybe I didn't find the right place and didn't realize where it really was.

Rockefeller Center is an icon. always cute. always top. Many people. but midtown is a very nice place. with good business

Enjoyed our walk around here. Primarily to get to Atlas and have a look at the skating rink (which is roller in summer). Curiosity satisfied we moved on to St Patrick’s.
Loved the pride of all the flags around the skating rink 🇺🇸

This is my review on Rockefeller Center, not Top Of The Rock, which I've reviewed separately.
The area has a nice feel. The skating rink was open, but as it was only October, it wasn't crowded.
I got my photo looking upwards a bit, with the flags in view, as I'm a big '30 Rock' fan. We sat and had our sandwiches in the Channel Gardens, looking toward Rockefeller Center. It was shady and a nice spot. :)
FAO Schwarz is here, too, and we popped in to see the floor piano from the movie 'Big', which was fun to see, too. And the nutcracker costumes of the door people are gorgeous!
*Even if you are not doing TOTR, enquire if you can do the general tour of the building for $5. This is not the studio tour, but gives the history of the building and the family. It's an hour well spent.

We had purchased our tickets online in advance and opted for the VIP pass to avoid a possible queue. As the weather was not very good, we showed up about 2 hours early and were able to go up without waiting. We avoided maybe 30 minutes of waiting in line. From the top of the tower, what a view of New York and its surroundings! Gorgeous ! But what cold and what wind!!! On the other hand, we should have come at the scheduled time because in the end the weather was nice. Too bad for the sunset that we didn't want to wait for.

The Rockefeller Center is a popular tourist destination in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, New York City, known for its iconic shopping, dining, and entertainment. One of the notable attractions at the Rockefeller Center is the Top of the Rock observation deck, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city from the 70th floor of the GE Building. Visitors can also take a tour of NBC Studios, where SNL and The Tonight Show are filmed. The Rockefeller Center features a variety of dining and entertainment options, including the famous ice skating rink under the vibrant Christmas tree for during the holiday season. The area’s restaurants are also impeccable. Overall, the Rockefeller Center is a must-visit, memorable destination for anyone visiting New York City. If you want a bustling attraction to visit during the holidays, the Rockefeller Center is the perfect place for any family or group to visit.

Very nice place, especially for remembering a lot of the movies in which they were shot there. Beautiful architecture. Famous shops in the middle of buildings

The Rockefeller Centre is a huge complex and worth visiting. Great views and opportunities to have fun. A great experience.

The rink is ready and the Christmas market huts are up as well.
The holiday season is starting up in the big Apple.
I always think of all of the famous movies with the Rockefeller center and rink in many RomCom scenes.
The rink and center is animated and packed today.
It looks nice even during the day here today.

Iconic place in NY. Nice place with this ice rink in the middle of the buildings. The atmosphere is very nice. We inevitably pass there while shopping or visiting the Top of the Rock.

Visited the shopping center and strolled through the corridors and viewed the outside. Also viewed the merchandising regarding Jimmy Fallon.

They took from my credit card 166$ and didn't refund the money. They don't answer emails. Worst experience ever. Dishonest behaviour

We would like to thank all the team especially JAMES who allowed us to do everything for my wedding proposal thank you very much

Climbing onto the terraces of this wonderful building is a fabulous experience. Very good views for its proximity

Visited here just after Christmas. Went up to see the sun set. Great views towards The Empire State Building and across Central Park.

Amazing complex consisting of great stores, restaurants, NBC, Radio City , restaurants, skating rink and the biggest Christmas tree .
It is massive.

Just a beautiful place to sit and relax as you are a block or two off the hustle and bustle of Times Square.
During the winter, this is where the giant Christmas Tree and ice skating are located. In the summer, the ice rink is converted to a roller rink. ( about 45-70$ to rent skates and time in the rink )
Fun to just grab a soft drink or food from the food court located on the rink level - and people watch .

It was essential to know a base of North American cinematography, despite being something striking, it was not what I expected, but in any case it is an essential place to visit in NY.

We were only at the base where you can skate (they rent everything to you of course). Nice place to stay for a while.

We purchased express top of the rock tickets, this meant that you skipped all the queues & could visited at any time on the selected day. We went first thing in the morning so it wasn’t very busy at all however, as we were leaving - the queues had started to form so I think the express passes would have been a god send. The tickets also got you close photo access to the Christmas tree.
The views from the Deck are amazing, the Empire State Building is so special to see. Would highly recommend.

Do not buy the photo is a scam you pay for it and they send you a link in bad quality because if you want the photo in good quality and to download them in better format you must pay extra, A TOTAL MOCKERY...

Definitely a must do in New York! Amazing history behind this building and among one of the best places to see the city skyline. We got lucky because it was a clear day - not a cloud in the sky - so we were treated to spectacular views! Highly recommend!

Wow wow! What a tree what a ice rink. Great experience just turn around to see the sears store light show all Christmas magic

Lovely night walk through the centre, to the park in the grounds, lovely to relax under the twinkling lights. Amazing to see the beautiful interior Art Deco design of a building that houses so many cult American shows.
Also great for a Marvel fan to see where Hawkeye was shot and Spider-Man swung through.

While Summit One Vanderbilt (in my opinion) gives the best observation deck experience, the views from Rockefeller Centre are still the best of the five. Floating amongst the buildings is their selling point as it is the lowest of the five. But it does provide some advantages when it comes to vantage points. It doesn't feel like you're towering over everyone, making everything down below even smaller, and that was a unique aspect about this observation deck.

I wanted to take my boys to see Rockefeller and all the shops they had beneath. As well as the rink. Rockefeller itself remains beautiful, but the shops are minimal post Covid. Rink was dismal. Not many people. But I did come during winter previously. If you’re just coming to see, doesn’t take too long so plan other events.

At its base you can breathe Christmas from the end of October, toy stores, Nintendo stores, the ice rink, etc. and it has the charm of being one of the mythical ones.

Don't skip this NYC icon. You should really put it on your itinerary. However, unless you want to ride to Top of the Rock, you don't need to spend the $$$$ for a tour. It's an expensive tour. There is a ton of information available online and on YouTube about Rockefeller Center. You can visit RC, the ice rink, see Prometheus, and the spot where the tree goes up for free. You can even have a bite to eat. Absolutely a place you need to go on your NYC trip.

The Rockettes holiday spectacular was the best thing about the trip. Not a fan of the Santa crawl that took place at the same time. Streets were crowded that night and upon coming out of the show, I was pushed around and people kept kicking my cane. There were times when I felt someone was going to push me to the ground. I had parents shoving their kids into me. I didn't find NYC to be a handicapped friendly town. Taxi drivers ignored us and lack of elevators leading to subway system. On the plus side, the police and city workers we came in contact with were very helpful.

Like a lot of buildings in New York. Visit to do.
Discover the ice rink and the center.
Luxury in every corner.
Come in and you'll see.

Palace that made history, present in many films that take us back to the Big Apple.
Beautiful during the Christmas period but worth a visit in any season.
Internally still from the 60s/70s, shops plus food court on the lower floor.

Top of the Rock as an opportunity to view the city can’t be faulted.
However, after being upsold “the beam experience”, we were incredibly disappointed to learn that your ticket doesn’t include the photos.
You have the honour to pay $40 in addition to your ticket price. This was not clear before or during the sale of the ticket.
We viewed the thumbnails of the photos and the lighting was all wrong, it didn’t show the city and to be honest a novice could do better on photoshop!
Also, be warned - if you book in advance for €60pp, you’ll be sorely disappointed when they drop it to $25 at the end of the day because no one is queueing.

Well worth a visit if in NYC. We took a leisurely stroll around the Rockefeller Center whilst visiting 'Top Of The Rock' observatory deck. (see separate review) Beautiful Art Deco, history, architecture, murals and water feature/garden. Tastefully presented with great photo opportunities.

Rockefeller Center is a must-see in New York! The plaza, shops, and Top of the Rock views are amazing. During the holidays, the ice rink makes it magical.

Rockefeller Center is a must if you are in the city during Christmas time. Unfortunately the tree wasn’t lit up when I went, but it was still cool to see all of the Christmas decorations and the ice skating rink. Overall, I highly recommend!

As expected great views from the top in every direction but the exhibition of the process of building and information boards etc was very low key compared to the Empire State Building and downtown building close up were more impressive so I preferred that one.

I didn’t really know what the Rockefeller Centre was before my trip to nyc, but I’m really glad I went. It’s a must see for architecture lovers, and it felt like a little oasis in the middle of the bustling city

The guide shared interesting facts about the Rockefeller family, building and art deco, nothing extraordinary to report

Having visited the top of the rock on multiple previous occasions and having an enjoyable experience, with the addition of the beam we decided to visit again this year to try and recreate that iconic photograph and this is in effect how this attraction is promoted so it's a fair assumption that you'd get that photograph with the experience. How wrong could I have been? We booked the premium tickets on the official website and paid the $25 extra for the Beam. It was very busy on the night we went and slightly chaotic but it was December time so kind of expected it. When we got to the beam, we were informed that no phones or cameras were allowed on the attraction which I kind of understood as I guess they don't want people dropping them so onto the beam we went strapping ourselves in using the lap belt and picking up a couple of props (hammer and spanner) beforehand to add something extra for that iconic photo which would be taken of us. As we went the 12 feet or so in the air we're informed when the first photo would be taken and then when the next photo would be taken and then within 30 seconds or so we're back on the ground. Job done. We scan the card we were given with the QR code on it to get access to our photos and bingo!! They came up but all were blanked out and that when I saw the option to purchase the photos for $75. Yes that's right, six digital photos which were probably very much the same for $75. The worst thing was apart from having to buy them in the first place was that there wasn't even an option to buy just one. I couldn't believe we'd had 30 seconds off the ground and nothing to show for it and it wasnt even as it anyone else could have taken a photo for us as we were a couple and the staff didn't offer to do it but either way from the ground you wouldn't be able to recreate that iconic shot anyway. We felt completely ripped off and misled because I didn't see anything on the website when I purchased the ticket to say that photos were not included so if you are going to pay for this attraction, be ready to fork out another $75 if you want a memento of your experience. Poor show from the rockefella centre with this one I'm afraid.

You will come across a group of high-rise buildings on 5th Avenue and a large courtyard with a pool, statues and a skating rink between the buildings. There are dozens of people skating to the accompaniment of constant music, the surroundings are lively and crowded at all hours of the day. There is a high quality, clean, private shopping mall underneath, shops, restaurants, cafes, you can visit the market, have something to eat and take a breather, it is very enjoyable. If you wish, you can go to the observation deck, we did not prefer it because we took pictures of Manhattan from the 100th floor of the EDGE NY building and enjoyed it. Also, there is a Lego store at the entrance of the center, there was a queue every time we passed by it, it is really interesting. Take your time, have fun

Rockefeller Center has a lot of things to see and do in the area. I went during Christmas so I went to see the Christmas Tree as well as the Ice skating rink. I came from 5th Street through the Channel Gardens and it was packed. Both the tree and the rink were located in the plaza. Saks on 5th Avenue, St Patrick Cathedral, and Top of the Rock observation deck are all in the area. There are also lots of shopping places too like lego and FAO Schwartz toy shop. I didn't end up going into any of the stores since there were long lines out the door. Museum of Modern Art, Grand Central Station, and Bryant Park are also nearby.
Definitely, a place to visit when in New York since there are many of the well-known attractions nearby.

The Rockerfeller Plaza is quite grand. Located on Fifth Avenue it is the home to NBC and they have a number of studios where you can watch TV shows being recorded. You can also visit their gift shop and get a souvenir from some of their current shows as well as some from the past.
There is also a branch of FAO Schwarz here where you can buy a gift for your younglings. One thing they have is a giant piano on the floor so you can recreate the scene from the movie "Big". Don't forget to take your shoes off!
There is a really nice open space outside the front of the building and there is a giant sculpture of Atlas with the weight of the world on his shoulders.
It's definitely a place worth checking out for some architectural grandeur.

Great place to visit! Beautiful architecture. We didn’t eat there, but worth a visit.
Ice skating was still open very cool to see such an iconic building.

Excellent tour of the history and art of Rockefeller Center with guide Tim. Loved the details he shared about the complex despite have passed them by so many times without ever taking a closer look. Recommend this tour to anyone spending time in the city.

Raining - beam was closed. Views were not good in the rain. Recommend purchasing tickets the day of instead of in advance

Beautiful view of the tree! Highly recommend eating in the area to be there before it gets too busy! Such a romantic night!

Beautiful guided tour on art and architecture with many historical anecdotes about this area of the city. Here you will also find the FAO Schwarz toy shop. The Guide was very engaging in the story.

It's one of the tallest building reaching to the sky in Manhattan. Everybody can remember the ice rink in front of the building from movies :) Next time I visit NYC, I'll be climbing up to Top of The Rock.

Fascinating place, take endless photos... although always crowded despite it being "off season" for NYC. There was also a Glace food truck with hot chocolate and wonderful marshmallows!

We liked it, it was worth the visit, and especially now at Christmas it was decorated for the Christmas holidays. The place is impressive, there is everything to do inside, it is very organized, you can climb the tower to see the views, and at the bottom there are hundreds of activities.

Loved it my only mistake was I done it at night and it was freezing should have done this during the day and esb at night the photographer was amazing so friendly and full of joy !

Get told one thing then a total different thing happens
Young non trained staff with idea what they are doing.
Then no customer service

The Rockefeller Center was quite an experience we enjoyed the observation deck the panoramic views of the city, Central Park and the Empire State Building were amazing all the stuff we’re super friendly and very help full the building itself is awesome from the out side lots of things to do out side too the building. Fantastic experience we would highly recommend it

What an amazing experience. Our guide was great, she told us so much we’d never have known just wandering around ourselves. As it was a beautiful Saturday evening and close to sunset it was very busy, but we dodged the large queues and really enjoyed our time up there. I’d strongly recommend the VIP experience for anyone wanting something a little bit special.

This is not worth the money we paid, it’s basically a lot of money for a view of the city, which you can get from any high building in New York. I wouldn’t recommended wasting your money on this so called tour!!! There is no tour….

Visited the Rockefeller Centre in October 2023 on a long weekend trip to NYC with my wife. We found this place quite bizarre and staff appalling. There is a shopping centre underground which was pretty much deserted although we did go there around 8pm. There's probably more atmosphere in the day time. At night though it was like wandering round a post-apocalyptic shopping mall (Dawn of the Dead springs to mind but without being able to go into the shops). The odd security guard was hanging around looking bored.
What really let the place down however were the staff manning the ticket area - we bought tickets to the viewing platform and the staff were very rude and seemed like they just couldn't be bothered. Other staff seemed to delight in barking orders at tourists - classic case of too much responsibility given to untrained staff with no interpersonal skills.
Be aware that if you have to wait for your allotted time there is no waiting area. Not an issue if you're there in the day as you can go shopping but in the night when most stores are closed, you have to either walk around util your time or sit on the floor outside the entrance. crazy not to have any seating at all.
Overall this was a hugely disappointing experience - and the views weren't particularly great. What a contrast to the Empire State Building, where staff were really attentive, friendly and the views (and tourist experience) were so much better. Save your time and cash and just visit the Empire State Building.

The plaza area is great but they have made a real mess of the lower area. The crystal sculpture is gone. The area where one could sit and have coffee is gone. Instead they have turned the area into a basement with restaurants that no one seems to frequent. Quite ugly.

They cancelled our VIP Tour 3 hours before…. I wasn’t prepared for this. It was suppose to include skylift, Beam with Santa, special Xmas tree viewing, I would recommend booking multiple tours - and try to find ones that will allow you to cancel with no penalty. On Saturday December 6th - 3 hours before our tour - they send an email (photo attached - with an incorrect phone number) that our tour was cancelled. At 10am on Saturday December 6th - everything else is sold out - as it should be, it’s Saturday in December, in NYC. My family was left scrambling. There are lines for everything. All tours and events are sold out. I did get a refund, as I should. Well I requested it at least. I wish they would have refunded my flights and hotel as well. We flew in Saturday AM (for this) and flew home Sunday AM…. We ended up being able to book at the Empire State building at 845pm. It was cool, but the kids (9, 10, and 10) were beat since we up at 430am. This sounded like a special tour, and for those who go - it may be. I think you can book and cancel last minute. It might make sense to book the tour multiple days and cancel the others when you can successfully go on it without them canceling your tour. Good luck!

Stunning views of course! Great explanation about the building and its history. Thoroughly enjoyed my Beam experience!

Rockefeller Center is a perfect spot, it' gathering everyone together for years. It still beatiful and gives joy to tourists.

In the center of Manhattan is the Rockefelker Center, a collection of buildings and a very famous ice rink. All in the heart of New York

Of all the observation decks in New York this one has by far the best views from the top. The view over Central Park is perfect.
Highly recommend if visiting NY.
Unlike the Empire State Building, the process to get to the top here is very efficient and slick.

I debated on going on this - glad I did. The experience was well worth it. The VIP best to skip the lines, get personal photos.

My wife and I walked over to Rockefeller Center from our hotel during our anniversary trip to NYC this past summer. We didn’t take the time to do a tour. We just walked around the plaza area and took in the sights. It was neat to see in person what we have seen on television for years.

He attended Rockefeller Center to climb to the top of the rock. It was our turn to move on to the new exhibition of the room where the history of the building and area is narrated and at the end of the narration there is a small winter surprise 😉
When we entered we did not line up at any time. They took pictures of us before going up, then we went to the viewpoint where they told us that there will soon be a new attraction on a platform that will rise.
We lasted 20 minutes and were removed from the outdoor spaces because of the lightning forecast. Inside you can buy drinks or souvenirs. After 30 minutes we were passed straight to the beam experience. When you sit on the beam that rises for the photo, they put belts on you and lend you items for the photo. The experience does not last long but I recommend it. Included in the package is the photo.
At the end of the ground floor there is a small souvenirs place where you will find more variety.
I recommend the experience!

Great experience, we attended On a rainy day not expecting much of a view due to it been a last minute booking. Even with the rain it had amazing views. There are two viewing floors and you can pay extra to do the famous picture, which we didn’t do due to the weather.
Accessible for wheelchairs and prams, although the toilets in the Rockefeller tower didn’t have changing facilities for babies as the doors where locked to it and knowbody in site to ask to open.
Overall good for the view.

Liked this tour because of all the info and insights into the art and history of the buildings and the people who envisioned Rockefeller center. Our guide, Micah, kept things moving along and his commentary was fun and informative.

Rockefeller Center is a versatile destination that combines art, shopping and entertainment. From its iconic ice rink to its magnificent views, it is a place full of activities for all tastes.

We were staying at a friend's apartment in NYC while they were gone. Our friend was telling us about places to see and go. He said, "don't go to the Rockefeller Center, it's super crowded". One of the days here, while walking about we unintentionally came upon the Radio City Music Hall. 50th Street next to is was closed to traffic and packed with pedestrians. What's going on, we thought. Without intending to do so, we came upon Rockefeller Center. Yes it was super crowded, but we managed to see everything we wanted to see there. Saw the big Christmas tree, skating rink, and all the other sights... blah, blah, blah. We later went to Bryant Park, much more fun there.

Set of elegant buildings, among the first shopping centers in the world, built by the Rockefeller family in the heart of Manhattan. The main attractions are the famous square with the ice rink and the Top of the Rock, the top of the Comcast building with a breathtaking view.

We got entry via GoCity app and just popped in as we were walking passed - no real queueing and visit was well organised. The top was not too busy despite it being mid-afternoon over the Easter weekend. Lots of room at the top and got some great views across Manhattan

We wandered all around the Rockefeller Center and in the different shops, wanted to run outside to see all of the NBC Studios sites, the ice rink and all the lights at night. what are great places to wander around.

The view from the viewpoint is simply spectacular. The audio guide helps to know its history and architecture. A must-see in New York.

We took the grandkids to see the tree. It was crowded but worth the Christmas experience. You need to have reservations to go Skating. It was very expensive. If you go have them do a professional picture it was worth the $50.00. It also gives you the best unobstructed view of the rink and tree. If you go to NYC at Christmas you need to do it.

Nice place to walk around and shop the FAO Schwartz, see the skating and watch people. More shopping and restaurants inside but we did not eat there

From start to finish this was excellent. It was a cold but sunny psi the views were superb. All the staff were friendly. My daughter was wearing a Birthday Girl headband and everyone wished her a Happy Birthday. Stayed up there for an hour enjoying the views . We went at 9.30am so it was not busy .

Actually famous in winter, the largest Christmas tree in the world is always here. But very crowded, streams of tourists wherever you look, some of the restaurants are outrageously expensive (e.g. pizza +50 dollars), a short stay is enough

We visited Rockefeller Center multiple times during our vacation week. So much to see & do. Amazing pictures. Must go to Top of the Rock at night for the best view of NYC.

We have been there twice, because it is a place full of life, shops, restaurants and a beautiful and tidy shopping centre. It has a subway stop inside and free bathrooms. It houses the NBC studios and has numerous refreshment points inside.
I really liked the order and cleanliness.

This was a lifetime dream that came true thanks to my son who had never skated before. He really wanted to do it, so we did. It was my first time skating in 20ish years and it all slowly came back to me. Evan fell a lot but was a trooper and kept getting up and eventually started to listen to suggestions from us. It really was very fun, not crowded at all, and they played great music. Thankfully they had skates to rent, and free lockers for your shoes. That's all that is free, because for the three of us to skate for an hour cost just over $150, they have you over a barrel, and it hurt but it was an event I'll always have.

The site is very beautiful. It reminds you of the movie Home Alone.
The skating rink on TV looks much bigger and reminds you of many movies.
There are areas to eat and sit on site.

As a fan of the Today Show, this is a must see. They were having a summer joy activity where the ice rink is in the winter. A crowded area with lots of hustle and bustle.

This is an iconic landmark not to be missed, we "visit" Rockefeller Center each time we are in NYC.
"Free activity"
The "Channel Gardens" are nice to have a look at ...

Rockefeller Center is an iconic New York City landmark. During the Christmas season the tree steaks the shoe, but there are interesting things to see year round. There are great stores for children, like F. A.O. Schwartz and the Lego store. For adults, there is a famous wine store, Morrell’s located in the complex of buildings. The NBC TV studio is there along with Christie’s, the auction house.
There are plenty of interesting stores and restaurants. There is a subway station connected to the complex.
As an FYI, the New York jewelry district is a few blocks downtown on 47th Street.

Worth knowing. Unfortunately I didn't go at Christmas time to see the tree. But I got to see the ice skating rink. The place brings back memories of movies. I didn't visit the rooftop because I decided to go to the Summit. The building is very beautiful.

Anyone visiting New York simply has to go there at least once. The most famous place in New York.
We really enjoyed it there. It was impressive and beautiful!

Rockefeller Center is a sought-after tourist attraction in the lovely and lively area of Manhattan. Was here as I traipsed around the city. Nice.

Only knocked one star off because it was pretty pricey but it was so much fun!
There was music, lights being projected onto the ice, it wasn’t too busy and overall a great atmosphere.
You can only got down to get your skates 5-10 mins before your slot then there are lockers to put your shoes and belongings into (combination lock so no coins required).
It was really mild when we were skating but the ice was cleaned regularly so it never got too slushy or wet.
You get given a coloured sticker which shows which skating slot you’re in and when your time is up your sticker colour gets called off the ice.
Overall well organised and a family with two young children we would 100% do again!

Super nice!! To do
Attention: when we took our ticket, there were 8 of us and it was possible but when we settled: only 7!! So 2 groups so 2 photos so 2 times $40

Super staff. No queues. Relaxed and easy experience. Visited at 8am watch is possibly why no queues. Able to spend as much time as we liked taking photos

A Christmas Classic! The horn playing angel installation is my absolute favorite. We didn't ice skate, I did as a child, but there was plenty of Christmas cheer to be had just walking around the area and also enjoying the decorated storefront windows.

But it's definitely worth a visit. Some good shops, excellent restaurants. And it's the Rockefeller Center, for goodness sake.

Walked around to see the sights both inside and outside. Got some bagels inside that were delicious. Next time I’m in town, will need to explore more.

Super cool. Great atmosphere with roller skates (in the middle of summer, no ice skating or Christmas trees), open space, beautiful view of the tower, visit to FAO schwars and the Nintendo shop to entertain the teenagers.
Not far from 5th avenue with Sint Patrick church, Trump tower, New York plaza

Went to Rockefeller with your family.
Just to take the elevator up was an experience.
Very enjoyed the view

I chose the vip experience for my daughter's birthday and she just loved it. We were first welcomed in the vip lounge with a drink and a video. Skipping the files is fabulous, especially when you have backpain issues like me . The beam and skylift are impressive. The rooftop is really one of my favourite in NY. Our guide Samantha was really a perfect host and very nice to us, explaining everything perfectly. Thanks a lot.

Visited top of the rock, think it’s expensive for what it is but was nice to have done it. I couldn’t stay on the top for long as I’m scared of heights and only went up as my daughter wanted to go up.

It is the commercial complex formed by an architectural conglomerate composed of 19 largest commercial and entertainment buildings in the United States. From Fifth Avenue is the main entrance to the complex which is entered by a cobblestone and garden known as Channel Gardens. These are decorated with fish fountains and sculptures and Prometheus sculpture among others. In this square are several restaurants, entrances to the prestigious luxury shops and also the famous ice rink for winter skating.
Nearby is the Radio City Music Hall, NBC Studios and the International building with its famous Atlas sculpture photographed by everyone.

we booked due to the VIP tickets.
you enter via a different and more private lounge. We had a 3rd person on our tour. you can sit for a bit and have a drink before you get a private tour all over the main Rockefeller buildings. You learn about the history and the small secrets about the buildings. You also get a great view from a private terrace they rent out for weddings. you then get a fast track up to the top floor and then the Beam experience. it is quick and you get to do pictures. they then go to the Skylift and it is fully private (except for the lift operator).
the Beam and Skylift are both private and you do not have to wait. The weather was bad that day we were still able to do both. something you must pay attention to as there is no refunds.
overall the tour was pretty good. Good for photos and a private experience. Would recommend to anyone who wants a good memorable experience in New York.

It was once one of the city's most fantastic attractions.
But now we think it's losing altitude.
We were there in the morning and apart from the effervescence of the family use ice rink we did not see anything else engaging.
And tonight on Sunday, the first of December, it was all dark.
The Christmas tree itself was bare and gave a sense of desolation.
You have to run for cover, make it more up to scratch is a duty as well as a pleasure!

The view is great but they have to do something to get people down faster . It took over an hour standing in line . The Empire State Building was much more efficient . Great views though

There is something specials about every moment you spend at Rockefeller Center from the historic art and architecture to the observation deck. Described as one of the greatest projects of the Great Depression era, located at 45 Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, it is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres between 48th Street and 51st Street in Midtown Manhattan. Construction began in 1931 and the first building opened in 1933. Today, the 14 original Art Deco buildings span the area between Fifth Avenue and Sixth Avenue, split by a large sunken square and private street called Rockefeller Plaza. There is so much to see. In the 1949 movie "On the Town," Frank Sinatra, Gene Kelly and Jules Munshin, three sailors on shore leave, didn't see it all in 24 hours. Start at the Channel Gardens, the plaza's main entrance, a 60-feet wide, 200-feet long pedestrian esplanade. Other notable buildings are Radio City Music Hall, RCA building, RKO building, British Empire building, Time & Life building, the famous ice skating rink and the Prometheus statue, the 1934 masterpiece by sculptor Paul Manship. And, of course, in December everybody shows up to see the Rockefeller Christmas tree. It is New York's picture postcard.

One of the landmarks of the city. Indescribable at Christmas time. If you have the chance, spend the night or early in the morning to experience (almost) in solitude this iconic place.

We visited from the UK and booked online in advance knowing that the Christmas Tree Lights had been switched on the day before.
We chose the 23:10 slot for a couple of reasons. 1: so that it would be dark and the lights would be on 2: my partner has anxiety and not skated for years so hoped it would be quieter
ATMOSPHERE - the minute you see the iconic rink, tree and fountain you feel like a movie star and people are happy and feeling similar whilst on the ice. Some are nervous clinging to the edge and others are spinning around the ice. The part before getting on the ice felt little chaotic, You grabbed your hire skates and then there was a rush to find an empty locker and to work out how to actually lock it. The reason I say rush is because you feel like your time on the ice is ticking away due to the length of time it has taken to lace up and put your bags and shoes away. I managed to slice my finger open just holding the handrail on the decent to the check in and had to ask for a band aid!!!!
STAFF -the staff we came across were all friendly both on and off the ice
We were ushered of the ice at midnight and nobody knew what was going on but it soon became apparent there was a proposal which was magical but I was too short and we were too huddled together to see.
We had to wait for the ice machine to do its thing before being allowed back of the ice and as it was -6 we got a tad cold.
My partner would have enjoyed this more if there were penguins for adults to use which would have given her the confidence to let go of the side and get round the rink at least once.
ADMISSION FEE - was to be expected for a once in a lifetime experience to do something so iconic and make lasting memories, there are no spectacular views of the city from the rink but there is something magical about the tree and the statue and fountain that just makes you warm and glow inside.
Loved this experience skating with such an iconic view and great music too, yes the ice did get busy at times but its the holiday season and so many people were making memories on the ice.

Excellent definitely well worth spending that much more and going the VIP route no waiting in queues, they made it feel very special

You need to go to see it at least once. The Rockettes are around the corner. There’s shopping, food, people watching. Fun to see!

Wonderful views amazing we were the two terrace attractions and seriously recommend so I say open mind for this adventure on the terrace

We went ice skating underneath the tree and it was the PERFECT Christmas activity!
Make sure to make reservations as they fill up fast.
The ambience of the rink in NYC is amazing, as well as clear directions and great customer service.
Highly recommend this activity.
They also say on their website they are ADA accessible, which is great!

This was sooooo crowded ! We did not get to see the ice skating rink , but got great pictures of the tree ! Saks 5th Avenue is right there as well as St. Peter cathedral, and Atlas. Wonderful lighting, many spots to see the tree. If you have time and love crowds, this is for you.

Incredible views of city went in day next time will got at night. It was raining but views were still spectacular and could see everything. As it was raining on day we went was actually quiet. Enjoyed walking around the centre as well and radio city ate food at restaurant where my wife had hot dog her choice but said it was best hot dog she had ever had. Definetly do again and if hadn’t been raining would have done the beam and observation tower as well as beam iconic and reason we chose rockerfellar top of the rock.

Tim is an amazing tour guide. Not only we had a chance to see different parts of the Rockefeller Center, but we also learned a lot about Rockefeller family history as well as different architectural and artistic aspects of the buildings comprising the Center. Highly recommend.

We decided to go at night having been to the Empire State in the day. Great views and the staff are friendly and efficient. The lobby is also well worth a look around to see the Art Deco style.

We happened to be in town the day the tree went up. It was fun to see them roll it in and hoist it up. It was nice to be part of that experience.

We visited in December and used our sight seeing pass, which was great as we didn’t need to book and just turned up, at a surprisingly quiet time. I liked the fact that there are a few different levels you can access and view and was quiet enough to spend time at each level and take loads of photos, and was lucky enough for a sunny day to get great fees.

Historic point of New York famous for the ice rink and the lighting of the Christmas Tree, the statue of Prometheus and more. I was there in those days but I certainly did not stand in line in the middle of the crowd to see the tree light up. I saw him the next day. I thought he was older. And by the way, I've seen more beautiful trees both in New York and elsewhere. The nice thing was the star on top. Apart from that, Rockefeller center is a complex of 19 buildings that is a city within the city, The Big Apple and definitely worth seeing.

We visited the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree and skated. It was a beautiful tree. Skating rink is underwhelming, but the kids had a great time. A good experience overall!

Skating is a must!!! A for non-skaters, it really is relaxing just sitting at the tables around the ring. I did it for hours!.
The skating ring is very well organized (lockers &so), it also has trainers (very helpful & kind & ongoing) & great music.
So ir is must while in NY!!!

A few years ago, we went here and had such fun... there was NBC "news desk" to see and so much other fun things.. and the little movie about the skyscraper being built. This time it was rush up the elevator and out on the roof top then do your video and rush back down... not impressed at all.. Sadly it was a disappointment this time.

A spontaneous decision turned into an unforgettable experience at the Rockefeller Center’s Top of the Rock. We booked our tickets on-site normally you’ll need to book online and headed down to level -1 to purchase them. Before reaching the rooftop, you pass through security and watch a short film about the building’s history, which was a nice touch.
The 360-degree views over NYC were absolutely breathtaking. The different levels offer various perspectives, and there’s even a small café at the top. A definite must-visit when in New York!

The decision was between the Rockefeller Center and Empire State Building. In the end it came down to Price and what you get for the price.
We had the Express pass which was great as the Sunset Access was included. We could stay as long as we wanted and it was great.
The only thing negative: It wasn't clearly marked where the Express pass people can go. We actually stood in a queue until I asked and they were like " Oh why are you waiting come please" so yeah it would have been better if they mark it clearly.

We had to view the “Rink” which is now going for Roller Skating in Summer to complement the Ice Skating in winter so the “Rink” will be visited by even more for skating fun when living or visiting NYC.

Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings located between 48th and 51st Streets, between 5th and 6th Avenues. Top of the Rock, the observation deck that offers a 360° view of the city, is one of the highlights.
During the winter, in the central square a suggestive ice rink is set up and the famous Christmas tree is placed.
The complex is also home to Radio City Music Hall, New York’s historic theater, the fine Rainbow Room restaurant, a shopping mall in the Underground Concourse and numerous shops, making it a real shopping and entertainment destination.

Super - also because of my express pass which made me skip long waiting lines both up and down. Absolutely worth the price.

We chose to come here to the Rockefeller centre so we could see the empire state building and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Amazing views and the staff were great. It was cold though so if visiting in March or earlier makes sure you’re well wrapped up, Would definitely recommend.

Rockefeller Center is a sight to behold, especially in winter. This time, we witnessed the tree go up, but missed the glorious lights & the trumpeting wire-sculpture angels. Still, there’s lots to see & do, whether it’s just taking in the impressive array of public art or taking a tour, going up to the observation decks, skating under the iconic statue of Prometheus, sitting in on a taping of a show, dining, shopping, etc.

I really enjoyed this trip - plenty to see out over the cityscape and a new vista through each and every window. The Beam experience was very cool, and I'd recommend, because you're there already so why not?

You can't come to NYC and not visit Rockefeller Center especially during the holidays.
You get to experience all the fun, crowds, and buzzing atmosphere as locals and tourists linger at the edge taking photos and watch people pay a ridiculous amount of money to skate in a rink that's just ok.
One of the highlights is, of course, seeing the famous Christmas tree. The sheer size and beauty of it never fail to impress.
As a local, it's easy to take such an iconic sight for granted, but this visit was a reminder of why NYC is the greatest city and why so many people visit every year.
I popped by during my lunch hour, and even though it was packed, I managed to snap a couple of quick photos.
Visiting Rockefeller Center is part of the New York experience; crowds, high energy, and a bit of showmanship.

The views from the top were incredible. It was a gorgeous day with bright sun and was very hot for the time of year. I knew we would see the tree lit up but couldn’t even see the tree as all the scaffolding surrounded it.

It was built in the late 1920s to help revitalize Midtown Manhattan. It is a large complex consisting of 19 buildings and the square. You can walk outside around freely. Also Top of the Rock is located there, it is a paid activity.
Iconic Ice Rink
My teenage grandchildren enjoyed skating at Rockerfeller Center in the shadow of the famous Christmas tree.
